It's a beautiful place, has parking on the structure and the workers are polite. Has room service and a dinning area. It also has a bar. It near the center and it has stores walking distance. There's a lot to do around the area. I definitely recommend this stay.
We were received very well and everything explained promptly. Definitely reccomend! If you are anywhere near here and plan on visiting Janitzio plan on staying here! Very clean and the staff was nice. The lot is big and the rooms are also very clean!
I used points for a free night. Hotel has secured parking inside of a courtyard. Staff working at the hotel are very kind and helpful. I'd suggest asking for a room away from the restaurant/front of the hotel due to noise. The hotel itself was just ok. It's very old, kind of neglected in areas. Room was damp & dreary (201). I would not pay over $75 US. Food in the restaurant was not great but staff was nice.
Hacienda style hotel, close to bus stop to Patzcuaro/Janitzio. Landscaping, restaurant & facilities are beautiful. Had dinner at the restaurant and both service and food were excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Wonderful hotel….definitely the best in Patzcuaro!!! The people the work at the hotel are very accommodating and friendly….the price was amazing….the food in the restaurant was delicious….the room was well-appointed and extremely clean. We will definitely come back again some day!
I usually do not leave any reviews, but if you are interested in staying in a hotel in Patzcuaro, this is the best one. The staff was very professional and friendly. The rooms were very clean, you see the staff going around cleaning the hallways almost the whole day. Once again, this is the by far the best hotel I have ever been to.
Well I will say the hotel is a nice hotel and the waiting staff were all nice people and where more than happy to assist you in whatever you wanted for your breakfast And would get your juices for you and they will get your fruit for you and everything was brought to the table with a smile but unfortunately on this occasion we had breakfast in the morning and my partner had some sautéed vegetables but she found a piece of metal in the food so I commandeered on this to one of the waiters and after about five minutes he came and told us that the manager would give us a coffee on the house which I thought was okay but to find metal in your food is totally wrong And needs to be addressed from the kitchen side… and also on our first night in the hotel we decided to go into the games room and play pool and have a go at the bowling but I can definitely say it was all in a disgusting state it looked like it hadn't seen a cleaner in there for many years the bowling area was full of dirt my hands were covered in dirt after two minutes of using the bowling ball and the skittles were covered in dust and the pool table it looked like it hadn't been maintained for many years the table was dirty and disgusting the cushions on the table has no bounce on them… and also in the swimming pool area I went there in the evening for a swim and there was Coca-Cola sprite and Fanta bottles on the table when I left and I have decided to come back here the following day at around 4 pm and the same exact bottles and cans of lager are still left on the same table and have not been moved… so all in all people I would recommend this hotel in certain areas but not in others…. So anyway my fellow TripAdvisors have a safe and pleasant journey wherever you go around the world and take care and stay safe
Whenever we come to Paztcuaro we stay at Don Vaszco best western All the personnel are very friendly the food is delicious the price is right and a Saturday Mexican night is amazing this is our fourth or fifth stay there and all my family love it also it is very clean and it is so nice and relaxing
Good service for brunch - good selection of regional food and an omelette bar. Beautiful building and terrace, in a colonial building. The staff is friendly and helpful, they even brought many items from the buffet to the table. Would recommend for weekend brunch.
It is a beautiful spot for anyone who is vacationing around the town of Patzcuaro. It is am amazing hotel! The service is awesome & the people are awesome (& very nice). I would recommend it to anyone.
This hotel is located a bit outside of the city center, and as such is quiet and pleasant. What is more, the building is fantastic ... it is extensive, and beautiful. What an amazing place. However, that is pretty much where the enchantment ends. The receptionists are not well trained, and frequently get confused about things. One of our group did not have a TV remote in his room, called the front desk, asked for one to be brought, and it never appeared. My room had no bath towels, which I discovered only once I was in the shower! By far the worst was the NOISE. That is, the courtyard where my room opened is also a dining area. There were activities there until 10 or 11 ... that was fine. However, one table stayed active and (drinking and) talking until midnight. The receptionist was no more than 30 feet away, and did nothing. I called, she said she would talk with them, but they did not shut up. I called again, same. Eventually, I had to go out and talk with her. It was ridiculous. There were many other details like this. We inquired in the evening about when could we eat breakfast, and they said that the restaurant opened at 0730. At 0730 in the morning, they said not until 8 or 830. In sum, new management is CLEARLY needed...
Wanted to do a quick stop with the family but fell in love with the place. We stayed for hours in the restaurant. The place is gorgeous and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The live music added beautifully to the traditional Mexican vibes. Not only that, but the employees were very kind and attentive. The food was really delicious too, the quesadillas were hand made and heart warming. Really a nice place.
It's at a convenient location with a traditional setting and although the menu is in buffet style, the service is formal. We enjoyed the live music while eating breakfast. Everyone was welcoming and helpful.
Love this place, really nice people working here. Close to anything around. Lovely gardens. Very comfortable and clean room. Food was great. The front desk was super polite. Gave us lots of useful information.
The hotel was super comfortable, close to Patzcuaro's center, the staff was extremely accommodating, and the check in was super smooth. This hotel suited our every need and will suit yours, whether you are a local or tourist. My room was super clean, bed comfortable, and climate inside was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very beautiful hotel , and amazing staff, the food is really cultural and delicious. The place was amazingly clean. Plan on going back to Patzcuaro soon, and with no doubt going back there. Thank you for giving me an amazing experience!! Viva el Pueblo Mágico!!!
Very nice Hotel in Pátzcuaro, friendly staff, very Poor Breakfast with limited choices. This Hotel is very expensive, compare to all the benefits that you get for the price. The dinner buffet was very poor, however they have great entertainment for the guest. The Hotel Had Mariachi Nights with live Mariachis and was a lot of fun!!!
This hotel was built in 1938, and still has many of the old parts. I stayed in the Colonial section on the upstairs balcony facing the gardens and lake. LOVED IT. I hear there are new parts that are more "luxurious" but I am happy I stayed in the old part (and the new parts are not upstairs, so don't have the magnificent view of the hallway balcony). The old part felt more authentic with an old hacienda feel to it. I also had stayed here some 35 years ago, and was happy to see that the game room is almost unchanged, with an old-style bowling lane, "futbolito" (soccer) wooden machines, and ping-pong table tennis tables. We played table tennis for hours in the evenings. So much fun! The restaurant was good, but service a bit slow. Something to be aware: this is on the outside of the town. It is about a 10-15 min drive from the center.
I stayed in Best Western for two nights and I enjoyed it. The rooms were very clean. For entertainment there is a two lanes for those that want to do bowling. Also there is a billiards table, and it has a pool. They offer a buffet for breakfast and the cost is $155 pesos per person. I suggest taking a taxi that cost 35 to 40 pesos and going into downtown to eat at the market. Very good traditional food. The hotel is about 10 minutes driving distance to the city centre. I recommend this hotel if staying in Patzcuaro.
The hotel is a few minutes from downtown, but perfect if you want to avoid the noise and if you are planning to visit other towns, since it is right at the exit to the highway. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Posada don Vasco is located in the entrance of the city, which avoids a little bit the heavy traffic to downtown. Hotel is good, although beds are not comfortable, with hard mattresses. If possible, ask for the new building, cause bedrooms at the older part of the hotel are kind of dark and a little bit smaller than the new ones. Pool is very good, but the casino/bar (playroom) is old and not well conserved. It has some pool tables, table tennis and an old bowling alley, where you have to arrange the pins manually. Restaurant is good, with good mexican food at a fair price. Actually this hotel is one of the best you can find in the region.
The hotel is divided into the old section and the new one.. STAY in the new one. The hotel is very relaxing with beautiful gardens and and an overall nice experience. Restaurant serves local food specializing in Michoacan Cuisine. The swimming pool and the summing pool area are very nice. It's a beautiful colonial hotel and you have the limits that a colonial building has. Amenities are nice. Decor of rooms are colonial yet with a touch of modern. Service is good and it is your BEST bet in the city.
I spend a family weekend in Posada Don Vasco, we were assigned a room in the oldest part of the hotel, the room was very old, the carpet had a funny smell, and on the same day the gave us another room in the newest part, the breakfast buffet wasn't all of it great, but they had a few good things, the staff was helpful and kind. I will stay again, but I believe they should improve their cuisine, since Michoacán´s gastronomy is so rich and unique.
This is a tough one to write because the hotel should be so much better than it actually is. First... Pros: --Very convenient location on Hwy 120. It is next to a supermarrket so you can pick up those little items that you may need. More importantly, it is close to the two sets of ruins and many other area attractions. --The staff. While the hotel is a disappointment, the staff were always courteous, friendly and helpful. They did the best they could with what was available. Unfortunately... Cons: --The hotel is very dated. Obviously, it is a much older hotel, but wires are exposed, paint is old and sloppy, the carpet is frayed at the walls and--worst of all--when we opened the door to the closet and the light came on, there was a buzzing sound like electricity arcing. --Towels are at a premium. When we checked in around 4:30, we were told our room was ready. We went upstairs and found that there were only 2 small hand towels. I asked the maid and was told they were still being cleaned. Granted, we were there for the New Year holiday, but a hotel without sufficient towels? It seemed like they had just enough to cover the rooms and maybe one or two more. I had to ask Reception at 6 about the towels and still we waited. The maid was quite apologetic, bu we did not have towels until 8pm--incredibly annoying since we had been traveling for over 5 hours and were hot, sweaty and not exactly happy about not being able to clean up. --The food in the buffet was never very good, not well replenished and one step away from cold. --The pictures you see online are from the back. The garden is quite lovely and the building is impressive, but the front sits right on the main road. This is not really a negative, but it is a bit misleading; however, if you arrive late, parking could be a problem --As I later discovered, prices were doubled and even 5 times normal because of the holiday. While we did not get as badly gouged as others, there was not anything to warrant the gouging. --It can get quite noisy from the courtyard. --The bed is rock hard. --Wi-fi was iffy, at best. Even when I go close to Reception, it faded in and out. Using it in the room(and we were close to Reception) was frustrating. Connections were often lost, when they could even be made. This is not a horrible hotel, but it was a very deep disappointment.
This is a great place to stay I definitely recommend it. Lovely architecture, is quite, relaxing and excellent location, close to all in town tourist attractions. Customer service and attention is unbeatable.
We stayed there in a double room with a balcony, the room was pretty but was generally old and, it said that the room had WiFi, which worked for about an hour and then stopped working. We talked to the manager and she said that it was going to get fixed, and it wasn't. The employees are very very nice but the hotel lacks maintenance.
Stayed here for a few nights and was very impressed with the hotel and the immaculate grounds. The lawns & flowers everywhere were wonderful and very professionally kept. The rooms were nice, and while not 5 star, were nicely kept, clean, and comfortable. The property was quite large, and the rooms in the back were very quiet. Although we didn't have a chance to use it, even the pool looked clean and inviting. The wi-fi in the common areas was good, but found it inconvenient that we had to leave the room to get it. Would be so much better if they expanded the service and signal so we could access it in the rooms. The restaurant was good for breakfast, and the Sunday brunch buffet has a lot of choice and variety, even an omelette station. The parking lot was secure, and we felt very safe and comfortable at the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.
Very quite and authentic hotel with beautiful gardens! The restaurant is good and the people and very kind! I learned how to make a real margarita! There is billiard and swimming pool! We enjoyed so much! You can visit the lake of Patzcuaro. Internet is OK.
The building is impressive but the rooms feel a little run down and smelled mildewy. The bathroom had some mold on the ceiling. The grounds were well kept and the staff was friendly. Not a bad place to stay but not as amazing as it could be.
The place was awesome for our family stay in Pazcauturo. We arrived at night and the bell boy was very helpful and left we ease. He said any help we need to let him know for example towels, pillows, blankets, etc. ??
I have a certified hearing service dog in the US, with all documentation and paperwork supporting it. This Best Western is part of an American chain. It's individually owned, yes, but I am seriously shocked that they would not allow a certified service dog from the US. I ended up being glad that they did not accept my dog, because we found another, far better situated hotel that DID: Hotel Posada de la Rosa. Unlike the Best Western, it is right in the heart of things, and also unlike the Best Western, it is not next to a huge discount box store. We ended up being happy that it worked out that way, but I do think the Best Western chain in Mexico should have policies that reflect the United States with regard to access and disability.
