The Black Oak Hotel in Paso Robles is well located and has excellent customer service. Ample room size, comfortable beds and pillows. Room Service is excellent as well. I will most definitely stay here again.

THe Staff are the best. if you care who is watching your back, they are the ones. Always willing to help and provide whatever is needed. We stay here alot and it is the best hotel in Paso for the money.

Very nice place to stay. Very clean. Comfortable bed, parking was great,the Diner connected was a little pricy but the food was amazing,there is several food options with in walking and 2 gas stations, the Hiway 101 is right there.

It's nice to see classic style accommodations still thriving. Check in was easy; the clerk friendly and informative. We had a spacious room with two queen beds and plenty of helpful extras: 'fridge, microwave, table and chairs. The long counter, mirror and sink vanity area is a welcome addition. The separate toilet/shower room also had a sink. The pool looks very nice and the plantings around the property add to the ambiance. They offered a "grab and go" sack breakfast but we opted for the $5 coupon for use at the nearby coffee shop which we enjoyed as a relaxing start to the travel day.

The hotel property in Paso Robles has spacious rooms, clean and is well-stocked with toiletries and towels. The staff are very frinedly and courteous. After being closed for several years (during Covid) the restaurant is open. While we did not use it, other guests said is was "good." This hotel is very confortable and we stopped there to break up our trip the Bay Area for business.

We reserved 3 units for our family to stay to celebrate my mother-in-law"s 100th birthday! The location was perfect as it was very close to the birthday venue. Robin, the front desk representative was courteous and was able to group our 3 rooms close together.

This Hotel has awesome beds. Huge rooms. Awesome diner on site for breakfast. Pool. Laundry facilities. Friendly staff. Helpful for guiding you to activities. Starbuck's walkable. Other restaurants walkable. Central to places. Highly recommend!

The diner connected to it is a highlight for breakfast! They don't have a continental for the hotel so they give you a voucher for $5 off per registered guest. Fantastic breakfast, enjoy! A Best Western in good shape for those using it as an overnight highway stop. For us, its always worth the extra money to go to a place like this as oppossed to skimping and getting a bad nights sleep in a cheaper hotel on the road. It's also off the highway enough to keep road noise down compared to others.

Had everything tip top shape n complimentary breakfast booking thro Alaskan airlines. Didn't have to go anywhere except what my trip entailed visiting a family member in hospital. Office staff were professionally friendly, n condiments with bit extra thoughtfulness. Thank you!

We recently stayed at the Best Western Black Oak in Paso while attending a wedding in town. The accommodations were perfect. Reasonably price. Clean, spacious room with microwave and mini fridge. Clean bathroom, nice fluffy towels. And very comfortable bed and the best pillows. Staff is helpful and friendly. For a small fee we were able to get an early (12:00) check in so we could prepare for the wedding. Complimentary Grab n go breakfasts are available or receive $5 pp off of the on site restaurant, Margie's. Food there is delicious, large portions. I recommend trying the homemade Cinnamon rolls. Soft and sweetly delicious! Omelets are made with 3 large eggs and plenty of fresh ingredients. The hotel offers a pool, hot tub and sauna room. The is also a fitness center, which we did not have time to use. Overall, this is a great place to stay, reasonably priced, centrally located, easy access off highways 101 & 46. We would definitely come back.

The motel room was possibly the cleanest room I've ever stayed in, and I've traveled a fair amount. The carpet may even be brand new. Everything exceeded expectations. The water pressure was nice and strong. I even used the in room body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. All citrus scented and very nice. I will definitely use this motel again next time I'm in the area.

Clean room friendly staff. only thing negative thing i did not have a usb port in my room. they have a good location. It is easy to find. They also have a nice pool. Overall i would recommend the place to anyone.

There is much to do in Paso Robles and a good way to start off is with a comfortable hotel, offering good value, in a great location. I booked a king room that was very clean and comfortable. Although located right off Hwy 101, rooms are very quiet. During the time I was there, I spoke with three different receptionists and all were friendly, helpful and professional. I took a mid-week solo trip to Paso and chose Black Oak as my base. It is well located to jump on Hwy 46 and travel either east or west to visit the many wine tasting offerings. It is also less than 10 minutes from the downtown square with its unique shops and restaurant variety. Margie's Diner is the restaurant on premises and Black Oak offers you $5.00 off your check or a breakfast 'grab and go' bag till 10:a.m.(obtained at reception) if you need to get on the road. There is also a clean and inviting pool, as well as a spa (hot tub). You will find a large covered patio for those who need the shade, as well as the sunny patio. Pool area has ample patio furniture, matching and good condition. This is an excellent motel location for anyone attending the performances at the Event Center as you can literally walk across the street and you're there. No need to get involved with traffic and parking.

Incredibly grateful to the entire staff for their willingness and ability to help our family in our time of need. Without their assistance we would have been stuck in a heatwave, no way to keep my daughter's medication refrigerated, and without shelter for two nights. The entire staff were caring, compassionate, and accommodating and went out of their way to help find us a room. Bonus points for the pool, and the complimentary luxurious skin care products, delicious coffee, bottled water, tea, and hot chocolate. The bedding was also very cozy and the rooms had climate control to stay cool.

Since my friend and I were travelling without our wives, we decided to use a moderately priced hotel. Room was large, clean and met our needs. Great location for dining in town and wine tasting. The diner next door was great for breakfast and the hotel provided $5 vouchers per guest. I would definitely stay here again (even with my wife).

The beds were comfortable! Everything was great! Loved they had a diner there to grab something to eat. There were also other food places within walking distance which was nice you did not need to go out and drive.

Very big and modern room, with separate whirlpool bath, separate shower, seated vanity in bathroom, and a proper bidet! Linens were clean and comfortable, bed was comfortable, free premium tv channels was a nice touch. Plus, they use a “easy to clean” remote with smooth buttons … so hopefully it is cleaner than a normal remote.

We really enjoyed the friendly staff and cleanliness of our room. We also enjoyed having a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. The restaurant next door was delicious, and we took advantage of the discount we received for eating there.

Love the decor and layout of room. Like the service approach of management to run the hotel, esp in-room-variety of hot beverages, q-tips, hand sanitizer,… very unique and very considerate. Plants on premises are beautiful and arranged with love. I would prefer a tougher mattress but this is a personal issue. Great stay!!!

We were very happy with this hotel. We have only been at a Best Western one time before. This stay was exceptional. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and roomy. Property is very well kept up and inviting.

We were on our way to San Francisco and decided to stay here overnight knowing that Paso Robles would be a nice place to take a driving break. It is convenient with clean accommodations and is close to an assortment of things to do. There is the fair grounds and fast food joints within walking distance, plus a great breakfast place called Margie's Diner on the premises. We had time to take in dinner downtown which was about a 5 minutes drive away and visit Sensorio in the evening which was less than 5 miles away. A mini vacation in itself.

Stayed here for one night in September 2022. Thankfully the air conditioning was working (albeit noisy) as it was beastly hot outside. Was a little bit of a bummer to have external doors to each room given the noise from the parking lot and the nearby laundry machines. Check-in was easy and efficient. Plenty of parking. The pool was packed and early the next morning, I was greeted by a local in a pickup truck who tried to get me to open the gate for her (I politely declined). The room was clean, the shower was okay. Fine for one night stay. Refrigerator and microwave in room but we didn't use either. Television worked fine with ESPN. Front desk attendant was awfully grumpy on a Monday morning (holiday weekend may have been the reason), but we got a voucher for the diner next door which had plentiful portions and bottomless coffee. I think there was a grab and go breakfast option available as well.

The room was clean, nice decorated and with enough space for the four of us. The parking at the area where I was staying was full in the evenings especially big construction trucks some were in double space and others in signs that said only compact. The front desk hosts asked to write the names of all four guest and car plates. The area outside of hotel at least one homeless person each day but I also saw police around area every day, so I did feel safe in day time walking around. There is great food and a Starbucks within walking distance.

We stayed here for the week of The Mid State Fair. It was really nice to be right across the street and it made it easier to our kids to feel safe and independent while being able to easily walk back and forth to take care of their animals, responsibilities and be fresh for their shows. We also appreciated the fact that this hotel, and their sister hotel Adelaide Inn was so supportive of our local 4H and FFA in that they gave back to the youth as a buyer at the Junior Livestock Auction and the Mid State Fair. They truly have what it takes to build loyalty of clientele. Our stay was amazing! The rooms are large, clean, quiet and safe. The beds were very comfortable and cozy. There was a refrigerator, that came in really handy. Our room attendant even left us extra rags to use. Our room had a jacuzzi tub, which came in handy for each of us every single night. The AC worked great, but we also had a window in the bathroom, which allowed fresh air. Overall, we had an amazing stay here! The grounds are safe and staffed with security. Javier at Margies Diner was absolutely wonderful. He was engaging and friendly. He remembered us every time we came in to eat and was really wonderful about asking our kids lots of questions and communicating with our entire family. All of these little niceties helped make our stay amazing! We are booking for next year!

This hotel was located across from the fair and we chose it due to its location. We were happily surprised to find the room to be in exceptional condition. Everyone who worked there that we dealt with was kind and helpful.

The room was nice enough and very large and spacious. We liked that. The front desk hosts did not seem very happy to be there. Did not offer any helpful suggestions. The pool was nice. No breakfast to speak of. We got a five dollar voucher towards breakfast at the diner next-door. Overall experience did not seem relaxing. It seemed very congested and hectic. We have stayed at some best Western pluses that blew our socks off. This place did not.For $400 I guess I was hoping for something a little more beautiful, or a little more plush, or a little more inviting.

We prefer BW+ because it is always clean and well equipped. This stay was mostly as expected. The room was clean and had all the amenities expected at a BW+ The Internet connection was a bit slow and the included breakfast was less than previously experienced, but those were small things overall.

This BW exceeded my expectations. The hotel room was very nice We would definitely stay here again and the breakfast was wonderful The area is definitely driven by tourism and all prices are very inflated.

I stay at this hotel at least once a year. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The pool is heated so that it's usable even at night. There isn't a free breakfast buffet, but they do give you coupons for the attached diner; the breakfast food is good and portions are large (I've eaten there at dinner before and it was not as good.)

Clean budget motel. Decent grab and go breakfast. Large, clean pool and jacuzzi. Restaurant on premises closes at 3pm and restaurants within walking distance. Nice overnight stop on the way to Pinnacles National Parks and missions.

Our room with a king sized bed was very spacious! Nice sitting area and a table that pulled out for the desk. Great having a microwave and a mini fridge. The location of the hotel was so convenient. We could walk to some places and downtown was less than an 8 minute drive away. Many wineries within short distances too!

Overall a very nice, quiet, very clean and well maintained property. The front desk staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. My family was happy and kid was comfortable. It is close to great local Pizza place (Rustic Pizza next doors) and wineries and walking area (near Pioneer museum) and is located conveniently.

Front desk person was not especially welcoming; accommodations were acceptable and price was reasonable. Nothing special. Bed was comfortable -- but it SHOULD be! We did appreciate the grab 'n go breakfast bags that were included in the price.

I loved the room I stayed in. This is a great BW. Staff was friendly, room was clean and adorable, pool area was nice. I hotel is conveniently located near the freeway. I stayed in the King room with Jacuzzi. It was a very nice room. This was the best BW room I have ever stayed at & I have stayed in a lot of BW hotels.

Our stay was excellent. We arrived on wrong date, but even though they were completely booked, they found a way to get us in, Front desk is so helpful and friendly. They even had a chair for the shower on site for those of us who need it,

I really enjoyed my stay. I felt welcomed at check-in and was surprised by how large the room was when I opened the door. the shower was refreshing, which is one of my main concerns being away from home. There was plenty of seating for visitors, and the bed was extremely comfortable. the pool, gym, and jacuzzi all worked perfectly, and were very clean. l look forward to my next stay.

We stay here every year (annual trek to Monterey for racing, wine, and relaxation). First stop after leaving the Monterey Peninsula. This place is a good location for travelers and has great proximity for 90% of the wineries in the area. Nearby restaurants are very good too.

You can't find a better deal in Paso Robles. Other brand hotels are out of sight on costs. The grounds, lobby and pool beautiful, rooms clean, plenty of lighting, sundries and hand sanitizer. Plenty of lighting in the room. USB and power outlets too!!!

I loved this hotel everything was perfect the rooms were spacious and clean big TVs microwaves refrigerators extra counter space extra towels all the extra amenities were available on my demand they even had a washer and dryer it was amazing the staff was f****** amazing.all of the staff there deserve to raise.

Best Westerns tout "Eco and environmentally friendly environments" but use fragranced laundry products. Please use "fragrance Free" laundry products and my stars would go up to 5 since the rest of the stay was great. i noticed no stink from scented cleaning products, but please know that perfumey linens will stink up the whole room for those with chemical sensitivities.

Best Western Plus Black Oak is one of the nicest hotels to stay at if you are visiting the coast! The room was clean and very well stocked with extras (coffee, shampoo, towels, etc). The only reason I could not rate 5 stars was because of minor customer service hiccups I experienced but hopefully that won't be an issue for you.

Stay was pleasant beautiful smoking area and pic nic area. Heated pools, roomy hot tub, fitness room was extremely convenient. My beautiful Room was comfy and spacious. Staff was wonderful. Onsite washer and dryers were really convenient as well. Overall I enjoyed our stay.

Have stayed here many times always had a great room very clean , Staff was always helpful and nice . the restaurant next door as is very good and has very large meals you get a discount for breakfast from 6am till 9am

The service and facilities at the Black Oak are great, and the price is perfect considering how expensive staying in Paso can be. The rooms are nicely sized and the bathrooms have a lot of nice amenities compared to your usual bathroom.

Very Nice. They have obviously remodeled since the last time I visited (4 years ago maybe). Nice decor, clean rooms and pleasant staff! We came through on our way further south and enjoyed a nice dinner in town on Valentines day.

Stayed in Paso Robles California and I booked a room at the Best Western Motel "Black Oak" besides the rooms being extremely clean and comfortable the motel was really nice and well kept. Maybe it's me but I got to wondering if they were trained by the same people as those who work in Santa Maria. Extremely well mannered and happy. I only wish that I would have exited Brand X sooner. Honestly it doesn't take much to make me feel welcome but all of the people at the Best Western Motels are great.

Excellent service and room. Near a few good restaurants. Many extras in the room including bottled water. Check in was handled very efficiently and staff was extremely helpful. Would stay again next time in area.

The Best Western Black Oak has the Best Beds and Bedding of any Hotel we have stayed in. We have been traveling for 53 years for business staying in Hotels- The BW Black Oak is our favorite place. Friendly staff, super clean facility, nice decor throughout the property and Rooms.

The employees were very kind and helpful. My husband and I were on our first trip without kids so they upgraded our room for free (we did not ask they surprised us). It's the kind gestures that count! We also enjoyed the hot tub.

Enjoyed our short stay. Was just an over night stay on our way to our destination. The room and amenities were nice and covered just about any need. The staff in the lobby were helpful and conscientious.

Upon reservation I mentioned I have an electric car. The desk when I came in said there have electric car chargers after I gave them my electric car name. I just stayed in the cold freezing charging me car and it cost me $19.64. If they would have told me I would have used theirs and not froze too. I am asking for a refund. Please advise

We were greeted warmly and with fresh baked cookies. Our room was very large, clean and well appointed. There were no problems parking near the room. The location was excellent. Understandably during Covid times the breakfast buffet was not available. We were given a choice of a $3.00 credit per person at Margie's Diner next store or a "grab and go" bag. We didnt have the time to sit in a diner so we chose the bag. It left a lot to be desired. We would stay there again on our next trip to Paso Robles.

The previous night we stayed at a very pricy hotel in downtown Paso Robles that did not have half the amenities that our stay at Best Western in Paso Robles had. We enjoyed the large room and the comfort of the king size bed. We have recommended this hotel to several friends. Because of this experience we will book Best Western hotels on our future drive trips.

Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed the stay at this hotel, I will definitely keep coming back, the location is perfect food near by makes it easy to grab a bite in the near food courts.

Front desk staff is quite variable and in some cases rude, not just inhospitable. While reservation staff Jasmine, was OUTSTANDING, that cannot be said for the 5 other staff that were on for the remainder of our stay.

Nice rooms. A little pricey, but Paso has become a bit of a tourist trap for wine touring. Hot tub was broken (they claim they couldn't get a replacement part). Breakfast choices were a small apple in a plastic bag or a $3 coupon for the diner next door (where coffee cost $4 a cup).

This was my second stay at a Best Western and I must say - value and comfort come pretty high up on the FICO score. The hotel is 50 yards or so from an awesome ribs place, a Starbucks and few other restaurants. If you want to walk a bit - you get to the downtown area with all the upscale staff - I must admin, we didn't walk there, we drove lol but really it isn't that far. Visiting wineries definitively is a driving deal and you're smack in the middle of the area - pretty much 1/2 to the furthest winery we visited. Wi Fi is good (AT&T fiber 12.x enterprise ecosystem) and of course parking is free. The pool is surprisingly awesome, I don't usually get to the pool as I always forget my swimming trunks but this time it was "taken care for me" so I gave it a shot - NOT shallow, the deep end is 10' so one can actually swim, well a 6'2" human so to speak which some times is a hassle with 6' deep pools. Overall, great stay. Thank you Best Western

We stayed 1 night, on a Thursday, and very nice hotel. Easy on/off highway. Room was very clean, comfortable bed and lots of linens. The pool is nice in that it has an actual deep end. We had it to ourselves and enjoyed it. Lots of seating/tables. Being we were there in August, the evenings are warm so after dinner we sat around the pool and enjoyed our drinks. The lighting and plants around the pool made it very beautiful. Very quiet at night. Being still in COVID mode they could only offer grab and go breakfast bags but there is a dining area once back to normal. This is a 2 story hotel and not sure if there is an elevator as we had ground floor room. Definitely recommend when staying in Paso Robles.

This is a great location for touring Paso Robles for a couple days. Staff is friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating with our requests and did an excellent job of keeping our room clean and tidy. There is a good diner basically on site. Not open for dinner, that wasn't an issue for us. They were also very nice. Our room was spacious enough we were all comfortable and able to relax after days of sight seeing and wine tasting.

I'm not that sensitive to noise but the Highway is howling outside. I'm so exhausted and can't believe they would not invest in better windows for this place. It's exhausting and I feel taken advantage of by a brand that I typically trust

We usually stay here when visiting Paso Robles because we are always assured of a clean, well appointed room. This trip did not disappoint in that regard but also, I realized that I had left my sunglasses behind. They were so helpful - found my glasses right away and mailed them right to me. I am so grateful for for their gracious service!

I'm always hesitant to leave 5-star reviews because the next time I want to go there, it's usually booked solid. But... the Black Oak deserves nothing less that the top rating! This past weekend was (and it looks like every weekend in October will also be) jam-packed with activities. All the hotels were booked up months in advance. Fortunately, we booked early and found a room at the Best Western Plus Black Oak. Wow! So many thoughtful details included in the room. The Black Oak is pretty much a Paso Robles institution. I can't remember it ever NOT being there! The inn appears to have been renovated relatively recently. Our room had a king-sized bed with plenty of room to move around. Everything was sparkling clean. The room was full of thoughtful touches like a motion sensor light in the closet, a ceiling fan between the bath and bedroom areas, and -- a rare amenity these days -- a luggage rack for the suitcase. Ample supplies were included in the room. The location was great for us, and we were delighted with how quiet the room was. I never sleep well the first night out -- but this trip was definitely an exception; slept soundly all night both nights. Staff is friendly and helpful. The $3.00 off coupon for breakfast at Margie's Diner next door is a plus. The property has a lovely pool area; we noticed several people were enjoying their "grab and go" breakfast on the deck and enjoying the sunshine. We'll definitely be booking with this location again -- provided we can get space :-)

VeryQuite, loved they had a cart and elevator. Make it so much easier to get the luggage to our room. Did wish the hot tub was working. I was really looking forward to relaxing in it. Hopefully next time.

We had planned on staying here for the Three Speckled Hens' ant. show but that was cancelled but we went anyway as we'd taken time off work......room was #315 up and in the way back corner. I would not suggest this room, too dark and noise from Jack in the Box......but a nice large room w/sofa. The email said hotel was award winning but really I didn't see any award winning features...........just a basic room but it was clean. The bedside lamp only 1/2 worked and the plug in charger did not work as it was not plugged in behind the bed.....The room lighting was pretty dim so it made it hard to read.....3 way lamp with a one way bulb. Ground are spotless and attractive. Lots of easy parking. The diner next door, Margie's, is not part of the BW but they gave out a $3 off coupon so we went. Only problem few of the staff were wearing masks and there was no mask notice at the door. However, downtown all wait staff were wearing masks so what's the deal? We did not go back for breakfast day #2 due to that. Rules need to be consistent. Next time I think we'll try a less cookie cutter type hotel, altho this one has the closest location to the fairgrounds. so....stay yes, not stay yes..... Award winning.....Dodge City Kansas Bw!!! Over the top. (well it was a few years ago) (how could a hotel not offer wrapped toiletries? look at question #1)

Arrived afte driving about 400 miles. the room was ready for us and they recommended a nice restaurant, close by, to eat dinner. Breakfast, with this COVID crap, was very good at a restaurant next door.

The hotel is very good for a roadside inn. I experienced a couple of minor problems. The drain plug in the tub was not working properly but this was fixed very quickly after I reported it. The internet service had some noticeable lags but, as I was not streaming any media, this was only a minor inconvenience.

This Best Western hotel is a perfect example of how all hotels should be run. At first glance, it looks like a typical off-the-highway hotel but once you check-in you see that it is extremely clean and well maintained inside and out. Our room was very clean and everything inside was perfectly updated. The grounds are nicely kept up and the pool was awesome. Great breakfast restaurant attached and lots of other food options next door. The only minor complaint was that the hot tub was closed off for repairs. We would gladly stay here again on another trip.

The room was clean and comfortable. The location is in a busy area but our room was quiet. Did not use the gym or the pool as we were busy attending family functions for the wedding. The furniture in our room could use an update.

We finally decided to take a toad trip just to get out after this long year and a half. Best Western did not let us down. Clean as could be. Hand sanitizer by the exits. Really nice. The breakfasts were not the same due to COVID but nonetheless we were so happy to go visiting and staying in clean rooms

This was a really good place to stay at for the price and Location. The service was great the room was very nice. It did the job for the night with great internet speed for my gaming for the night sleep well too.

Pluses: Large rooms, comfortable bed, nice grounds, quiet stay. Minuses: Room reeked of stale cigarettes, and the hotel was sold-out, soooo.....Jetted tub was old - can't imagine anyone wanting to take a bath in it. Decor on the shabby side.

My husband & I stayed 2 nights to do some wine tasting in Paso. The accommodations were basic but very clean. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't stay long enough to use the pool or workout room, but I peeked into both. The staff was just finishing cleaning the workout room and it looked great. Would have used it if time permitted. Location is on the north edge of town, but easy to access. Grab-n-go breakfast was available but simple. Nothing fancy but a good value. We'll stay here again.

North of downtown, right off the freeway, tons of places within walking distance. McDonalds, Subway, BBQ, Starbucks, AM-PM, Asian food, Pizza, everything! Rooms are incredible, pool and spa are clean. Central State Fair right across the street. Front desk staff is simply incredible and helpful!

Employees are super nice, courteous and helpful. Amenities are great, pool and jacuzzi were clean, not crowded. Prime area, close to downtown, freeway and restaurants. Highly recommend. They made our stay pleasurable.

Clean and comfortable, with comfy bed, we loved our room. Very spacious, it had a couch and easy chair in addition to the desk chair and bed. Microwave, fridge and coffee make made it very comfortable for us. Good value and in the heart of Paso Robles. Walk to restaurants.

This hotel was a welcome and relaxing stay for the ending of our trip. This is what I expected from a Best Western PLUS hotel. Rooms were very clean and spacious and carpet appeared to be fairly new. Liked that HBO was available on TV.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, perfect location. Could hear occupants above us walking around and getting out of their beds in the very early AM. People waking in front of the windows talking while walking by, can be heard easily inside the room.

This is our second stay at this Best Western. It's very convenient off major highways. The staff is courteous, comfortable with a good COVID protocol. We stayed in a king room that was spacious. My only suggestion to the management is to add some type of goose down (or equivalent) pillow. The foam pillows are clean but too thick for some sleepers

Me and my friend needed to get away and relax. No complaints I had a very pleasant stay and I did my laundry there which was only $1.25! The room was clean and spacious. I recommend anybody to stay here!

this is the Best Western sister tot eh Adelaide, right next door and owned by same family, great place, very clean, and Margie's is directly next door, you cannot go wrong here, I comapre rates with Adelaide and go with the best one-enjoy.

We chose the Best Western Black Oak based on friends' recommendations. The front office staff were wonderful and accommodating, with lots of tips on places to eat and other resources. The room itself was a really nice size, with standard motel furnishings. Unfortunately while they had stressed that it was a non-smoking room, clearly somebody had been smoking in there recently or perhaps the smell is in the rug or curtains. Fortunately we had some scent we sprayed to get rid of that stale odor. On the plus side, the bed was great, clean and comfortable. We had heard about Margie‘s Diner as the breakfast option but instead were provided the ‘grab and go' bag which was pretty terrible with a soggy, unrecognizable breakfast burrito and other items. I'm a bit torn as the staff were so nice and there was a very friendly vibe at this place. However, for the price we paid (maybe higher than usual as it was a weekend and this is the wine country) I don't think we would stay here again.

Excellent hotel. We were on a bike trip and needed a place to stay for a early start. Would definitely come back and stay longer to take advantage of the excellent wine tasting opportunities near by. Lots of food choices near by that you can walk to.

I travel relatively often, both for business and for pleasure. Several years ago I decided to try Best Western Black Oak in Paso Robles to keep costs down for a client. I was so pleasantly surprised and pleased with the property that I have only stayed at BW Black Oak when travelling to Paso Robles. I also began staying at Best Western properties when travelling elsewhere for pleasure. I have yet to be disappointed. While some Best Western properties are better than others, they all have offered clean, modern properties with great service and at a reasonable price. My only "complaint" about BW Black Oak is that their breakfast offering is not nearly as nice as it is at other BW properties. If you've never tried BW Black Oak, or BW properties in general, I think you would be pleasantly surprised, and become a return guest.

Very nice hotel for the money! Comfortable beds and nice staff! We came there for a surgery at MUSC! We asked for no room service, while outside smoking a housekeeper asked if we needed anything! Very nice experience!

This hotel is the best for a work and winery adventure. Great hospitality here! The restaurant Margie's diner is absolutely amazing! You will definitely be back again soon. For more about the local wineries around they have that information here. Have fun because I did.

I really like this particular location. Centrally located with convenient access to freeway, eateries and downtown. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. What more do you really need when away from home?

Down town with many more shops, restaurants, bars, etc., and the town square also near by. Within driving distance to beautiful Wineries. Many within 20 miles. Rooms nice and clean. Excellent service. Has restaurant in premises.

BW Black Oak is our go-to hotel when visiting Paso Robles over the last few years. Great location, nice rooms, and the staff are all outstanding! They are very friendly and happily to try meet our needs if we have a special request. We won't stay anywhere else when in this area.

The hotel's conveniently located just off HWY 46 in Paso Robles and it has a great outdoor pool. However, the rooms could use a refresh and the mattress was too soft. Granted others may disagree but my back's still aching. I seriously considered sleeping on the floor. The did provide Grab ‘N Go breakfast bags and coffee but they weren't very gluten-free friendly.

Very quiet and clean friendly staff. Great restaurants within walking distance. Convenient location . Close to wineries and Paso Horse Park. Nice amenities. Easy check in and point system. It was very clean

Stayed in Oct 2020 and the check-in person seemed put-out that she had to work. I arrived before 5pm so it's not as if it was after midnight. No excuse for zero hello, zero smile, zero welcome... she just went through the motions and sent me on my way. The room I was in was a solid 3 star hotel room. It was musty and the bathroom was old and patched up, but at least relatively clean. The rest of the room was your basic hotel room with mini fridge, microwave and TV. Nothing extra special. The surprise for me was the gym and pool. I did not use the pool but it is really nice and the gym is beyond what I excpected based on the hotel room itself. There is enough equipment in there to get a good workout with weight for everything except legs. Finally, I'm sure it's been written, but you don't have to drive for food or Starbucks if you don't want to. It's all right there. I've stayed in a nicer hotel in Paso for nearly the same price and would probalby choose that one over this Best Western for anything longer than 1-2 nights for myself. If I had small kids or teens with me, this hotel would be a good choice because of its proximity to food and the pool.

We usually stay here because we get an upgraded room since we are BW rewards members. Plus the rooms are clean with everything we need. Staff goes out of the way to help out. Breakfast is always fresh. With Covid-19 bag Breakfast we pass on. This location is close to 200 winieries in Paso Robles. Plus small food businesses n Starbucks walk to.

room was nice, spacious, clean. Offers all the things I like in a room, coffee maker, fridge, microwave. toiletries, plenty of towels, and wash cloths, hair dryer and a swivel mirror if you need it. Bed was comfortable I slept great. I love the ceiling fan and AC too. We were there to attend a one day horse show at Twin Rivers Ranch, which the hotel sponsors.

It a great property and nice location. I would have rated this plan 4 starts if the prices were comparable to other hotels in the area. Pros: -Location -Service/Staff - decent breakfast -cleanliness Cons -We had trouble with getting the room cool enough with the AC and didn't get much sleep. -The amenities in the room were not worth ~270/night (including taxes).

This was a very nice room right in the middle of Paso Robles. I will be coming back next time I'm in PR. I slept really well which is important to me. The room was also very spacious and clean. Everything was very COVID-19 safe and compliant.

Nice hotel, but for well over $200/night, was over valued. The internet did not work on the 2nd day we were there, something I needed for work. Also, grab and go breakfast was offered, but they had run out of food by 9:00.

You get about what you expect from a best western. Nice large clean rooms. I like the exterior room entrances, especially now. They also offer a grab and go breakfast at the moment, and it is nice they have something.

I use this hotel a lot for business. It is always clean, the staff is friendly, and the grounds are beautiful. Good location near highway but not too close as to hear highway noise. There is also a pool and exercise facility on site.

Perfect location - close to downtown, close to pharmacy, and food options are just around the corner. The hotel has plenty of parking and it provides the amenities I needed for that one night stay. Sharon, guest relations rep was awesome!

The place was quiet, room was nice and clean. It was hot outside (summer)so the ac was a dream. Followed all covid rules. The suite felt a bit over priced but I still liked it. Would stay here again. Staff was friendly.

We stayed two nights. The room was large, clean but dated. Breakfast was not served due to COVID-19 and the parking lot was being sealed. The location's convenient, adjacent to the fairgrounds, but about one mile from downtown.

I risked it by going during COVID but BW was great. Plexiglass in the front office between guest and worker. The room smelled clean but not toxic. Hand sanitizer was left in the bathroom area. It had a nice little microwave, refrigerator, and a small jar of wrapped candy (I don't care for candy but I thought it was a nice treat. The bed was very comfortable! A ceiling fan was a nice touch too. The pool had just opened bc of Stage 3 and the chairs/table were separated with yellow tape reminding people to practice social distance. Their restaurant was still closed but Starbucks, Bubba's Ribs, and a Mexican place were a hop, skip, and a jump away. Now, Paso wasn't hit hard with COVID so I'm assuming that is why the locals were not in masks. I was the odd one out by wearing mine. I ate at Bubba's Ribs and it was very good. Rack of ribs and sweet corn get 5 stars. Overall, nice BW. Only about 7 cars total. I'm assuming people are not traveling yet. Oh, I used the fitness center which made for a nice workout after driving all day. I would stay again!

Nice property close off the freeway and not far from the downtown area. Front desk staff very helpful and pleasant. The lobby was clean with complimentary beverages and fruit available. My room was clean and pleasantly furnished. I appreciated the pocket-sized bottle of hand sanitizer I found in my room - a very timely and thoughtful addition to the toiletries provided in the room.

The Best Western Plus Black Oak was a great hotel. It was the best priced one in the area and centrally located. The room was spacious, clean with a large tub. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Paso Robles.

Great location, great room, and a wonderful experience with friends and family on a wine tasting tour! We stayed in a suite, and it is one of the nicest places I've stayed at in a long time. The staff was very gracious and helpful with their advice. I will definitely go back and look forward to it..

Staff very helpful & shared they have over 200 combined years of service! Brandon & Sharon at ck in were great. Only snafu was trying to redeem balance from BW gift certificates and breakfast not complimentary as other BW Plus Hotels. You do get a $5. Certificate towards breakfast next door

This motel is perfect for me because I have extreme sensitivities to fragrances. SO MANY hotels and motels and Air BnB are using air "FRESHENERS" these days and they not only give me headaches, but trigger all of my Fibromyalgia symptoms. I am happy to say that this motel is SCENT FREE in the rooms. I called ahead and asked and she made double sure that no highly scented cleaners would be used. The linens had NO FRAGRANCE which was so great for me. Thanks and I sure hope they keep this scent free option. The room was spotless, in really good shape, the beds were comfortable and we'll stay there again and again whenever we go to Paso or on our way to destinations north.

When we are in this area we usually stay here because the hotel is centrally located to everything we need. It is a nice hotel. But for us, because we travel with a child in a wheelchair, we will try to find another location. We booked a wheelchair accessible room and when we got there we found out it was anything but that. The bathroom was not large enough to get the wheelchair in and turn around and the shower was not wheelchair accessible. Not sure how they can advertise that it is wheelchair accessible. Perhaps they should sit in a wheelchair and try to use the bathroom themselves.

During our travel in California with my family i booked this hotel as it had very good reviews. I dont know how, as i cant find even one good thing to say about it. Rooms smells bad. Beds are old and need upgrade. Rooms are outdated. Not including breakfast. For us it is very low quality for a best western hotel. Will not go back for sure.

Love this Best Western in Paso Robles. It has a great pool and hot tub. The rooms are very comfortable. The fitness center is pretty great for a hotel. It actually has free weights which most BW properties I've stayed at don't. We stay at this one every time we stay in Paso Robles.

Our family of four was just passing through and needed a place to rest our heads. The hotel was clean, the staff was pleasant and breakfast was good! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others passing through.

We recently stayed at this Best Western. The room was large and well appointed. It had a king size bed, a large sofa and chair, a work desk, a large TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. I like that the sink was outside the shower and toilet. The room was clean and well decorated. I removed on point because this motel did not have a breakfast room as do the other Best Westerns. Instead the motel gives each visitor a $5 voucher for breakfast at the overpriced Margie's Diner across the driveway. Margie's Diner is know for their extra large portions but at $5 a glass of orange juice, this diner is not for us.

Excellent place to stay - only stay at this Best Western when we visit our son in Paso Robles. We thoroughly enjoy the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The persons working the front desk are alway courteous and gracious when we come to check in.

Great mid price hotel with clean and comfortable accomodations. Location is walking distance to a varienty pizza parlors, hamburguer restaurants, Starbucks and has a convenient dinner adjacent to the parking lot. Short drive to town square and Paso wineries. Would definitely be a great choice with a good value

This was only my second time in Paso Robles and I wanted to stay close to downtown, but I wanted a reasonably priced hotel. This place fit the bill! The amenities were nice. They included hand sanitizer and a mending kit. My favorite thing was that they had a lighted makeup mirror. Now that I'm of a certain age, this is really nice to have! I loved paso Robles & I will be staying at the Best Western again!

We prefer the Best Western Plus Black Oak when we travel to Paso. It is centrally located for wine tasting, and walking distance to city center...not to mention, they really care about their guests. This was our 25th wedding anniversary, and the room was absolutely beautiful, and there was a bottle of bubbly and glasses...what a NICE SURPRISE!!! Thank you!

From the check-in to the checkout we enjoyed our stay. The guys at the front desk recommended a nearby pizza restaurant for dinner. It was excellent. Our room was super clean and quiet. We had a great sleep and easy checkout!

This is a great place to stay in Paso Robles. It is a very good central location not too far from the charming town square. The amenities were fantastic from extra towels, glasses, and coffee to the hand sanitizer offered with the bath goodies. The room was spacious and had a microwave, refrigerator and ample counter space. The bathroom had two sinks! There was a desk and sitting area as well. My husband was pleased with the paper towel dispenser by the parking lot so he could clean off the car windows. This is a great place to stay and we will definitely return.

I do a lot of travel for work, but I have to say, this was the best motel so far. The room was very comfortable with a lot of extras not found elsewhere (my wife loved the overhead fan in the sink area). The room guide book had everything imaginable listed in the local area from restaurants to churches. The staff was wonderful and when asked about eateries, they provided us a handout of local restaurants they recommended. We got to the motel late on a Friday and was afraid that we would not find a spot for parking. That was not true here, we found plenty of spots adjacent to our room. And as a bonus report, this motel ranked very high on my wife's approval criteria with the comfortable bed and spacious & very clean room.

Comfortable and clean rooms. Hotel is easy to get to and staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy to walk to a few different food places and to Starbucks. There is a diner attached to the hotel that serves great food. Close to downtown area, easy to find supermarkets or other dining options.

Located just off the exit from the US101 at 24th Street. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and welcoming - thank you Anna! We had requested a "quiet room with accessable bathroom" and our room [#237] was just perfect. There is a heated pool on property but it was too cool to venture forth. There was available a $5 per person credit for breakfast at the adjacent Milie's Diner that we took advatage of. We were here for 2 nights and was very pleased that we chose this location. The "Field of Light at Sensorio" exhibit on route 46 is only a 10 minute drive from here - ideal. The local wineries are also an easy drive to reach. Overall, a good choice for enjoying the area.

Stayed here for one night and was very satisfied. Check-in was fast and efficient. The room was large and comfortable with all the amenities anyone could want. Everything worked as it should and was super clean. The location is close to Hwy 101 and has an adjacent restaurant.

It was great stay, hotel is in excellent location, close to the 101 freeway, close to Paso Robles downtown, fast check in and out processing, very friendly personnel. We will stay in this hotel again.

We found ourselves needing a handicap accessible place to stay at about 10 pm our first evening in Paso Robles. I called the Best Western because we have had good luck with these facilities before and they didn't disappoint me. They got us in, even with me checking in around midnight, and our room was just fine.

I've stayed at many Best Westerns and this is my favorite. Starting with the generous room size, the recliner and love seat, it was very comfortable. This is one of the few hotels I've stayed in recently that has adequate lighting. The other room amenities were all very good quality; the bed and pillows wonderfully comfortable. The front office staff were all pleasant and helpful whatever the situation.This is definitely our Paso Robles pick for a hotel.

The hotel and room were just fine. I would have rated this a 5, but dinged it for what I thought was less that what I would expect for BW+ for the breakfast "deal." The breakfast was a $5 discount for the adjoining restaurant (Margie's Diner). While the breakfast there was fine, it was horribly overpriced. Even with the combined $10 discount, we wound up paying $31.00 for 2 people. Save yourself some money and go to the McDonalds around the corner and go crazy.......

I've never stayed in a BestWestern that did not offer complimentary hot breakfast so I did not realize that was optional for the property ... so although it was my fault that I did not note the inclusions/exclusions of the rate, it still affects my rating of the hotel, since i'm comparing it to other properties, both BW and non-BW. The room itself is nicely decorated and very comfortable; everything was in good working condition and looked recently decorated. Good quality linens for the bed and plenty of towels. The toiletries were more than just the soap, lotion and shampoo. It was a nice touch to have real glassware instead of disposable plastic and paper. And, even a little dish of candies and bottled water. However, the breakfast offered on property is water, an apple, granola bars. There is a $5 per person coupon available to use at the on-site restaurant, which would cover about half of the cost if you ate the skimpiest breakfast. Since I'm a breakfast lover, (and the BW waffles are great!) had we eaten at the restaurant, it would have added about another $20-25 to the cost of the stay. I think I would have been more satisfied if there was a "value option" available at the restaurant that is included in the rate - maybe a couple of eggs, toast, bacon or the on-site option with more options such as juice, yogurt, pastries and something else besides apples (bananas ?) There is another Best Western about 15 miles away where we've stayed many times when in the Paso Robles area .. and breakfast is included .... There is also an onsite washer / dryer area, reasonably priced, with supplies available for purchase.

Older motel but very nicely updated. Restaurant next door and you receive credits for breakfast. Wished there would have been a separate menu for hotel guests with a few choices, even smaller portions, that would be included in the stay. Walking distance to other nearby eating establishments.

The beds were great! So comfortable! There are a lot of little extras in the room such as bottled water and candy. The lobby has coffee , tea, cookies, and apples. Pool and jacuzzi area is very nicely decorated. Diner is adjacent to the property, and it serves good food and large portions. There are several other fast food type places to eat, a Starbucks, and a Denny's all within walking distance.

We stay exclusively in Best Western facilities. Black Oak was the best experience we have had. Everything is in the details and they didn't miss a one: an abundance of technology ports, bottled water in the room, a small dish of welcome candy, an extra trash can, upgraded toiletries. The Black Oak will be our overnight choice on all of our trips to Southern California.

We initially reserved a room with one king bed. Upon our arrival we were notified they had upgraded our room to a suite with a jacuzzi tub. The room was on the ground floor with parking directly in front of the room. The room was very spacious with beautiful décor. The bed was so comfortable and we found they give you real glasses and real coffee pots - not paper or Styrofoam. The facility was very clean and beautifully manicured. We would definitely stay at this facility if in the area again.

A stay at Best Western Plus has always been a great experience. We have stayed with them travelling the USA as well as overseas. I may sound like I have a vested interest in this hotel chain but we are just satisfied customers.

My itinerary for winery touring in Paseo Robles includes BW-Black Oak. The past 6 years I have stayed at BW-Black Oak & each time I am so grateful to have a comfortable room to return to & a convenient diner-Margie's to eat some delicious food! Their French dip is awesome! A plus staff!

We stayed for our anniversary trip, we figured we would be out wine tasting most of the time, so we wanted a convenient place to stay. It was wonderful! Great location to eats, a quick uber ride downtown. We were greeted with champagne upon our arrival and were given an updated room with a wonderful spa tub!

The location was great! It was a safe, clean area not far from shopping center. Easy to get around if you're not familiar with the area. The Best Western was great. They made my weekend getaway perfect.

We were going there to see a concert at the VW Amphitheatre in Paso Robles and need a place to get ready before and to stay. The bathroom was excellent with two separate sinks and a magnifying mirror perfect with plenty of room to get ready! One other plus the beds were super comfy better than home!

We ended up with the suite, OMG it blew us away because we were not expecting a mini bar nor were we expecting such a great experience. even though I didn't sleep well that was due to me being an insomniac however my wife slept great.

Stayed with large family group for concert. There were 11 of us and we all had an excellent experience! Amenities very nice.. younger children LOVED those candy dishes! Only regret was we couldn't spend two nights.

We had a very nice stay at the Best Western Plus Black Oak in Paso Robles. They thought of every convenience to make our stay comfortable. Loved having the mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with everything needed to make coffee, toiletries, great towels, nice tv. Even the candies were a nice touch. The wall air conditioning worked well for our room size and the actual ceiling fan in the bath area was a very smart addition. We were very comfortable. The lobby staff were very pleasant and efficient. Having the diner on the premises was a plus as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Stay-cation, my family always enjoys a 2 or 3 night stay-cation here. Love the pool, the room, tv channel options. Stay here improves everyone's day. We love mid week stays for the affordability. We've had family stay up to 7 nights. It's a great property.

Arrived and was greeted by a very cheery lady. Was offered cookies and felt very welcome. We were visiting on our honeymoon and was given a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon suite which was really nice. Cool bath tub! Thanks for a great stay Mr and mrs McCaig ❤️

The Best Western Plus Black Oak hotel is one of the better Best Western Plus hotels I have stayed in. I enjoyed the pool are with the hot tub. The room was meticulously cleaned and the landscaping made the hotel area pleasant. There is all day tea and coffee in the front office as well as in the room. there is also a fitness area. I highly recommend this hotel

Made a reservation online through Best Western. Made the mistake of only inputting one guest in the room. No big deal. Called the hotel directly and it was fixed right away. I remember asking a few other small questions and making small talk with the receptionist. I don't remember mentioning that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, but it must have came up. When we arrived for our stay, we were quite surprised to hear from Brandee that we received a room upgrade to a whirlpool suite. I didn't ask for it and wasn't expecting one. This was the icing on the cake of a wonderful weekend. The hotel is clean and beautiful and the room was as well. The pool was nice and hot tub was excellent. We enjoyed unwinding in the whirlpool tub after the end of a long day. Thanks Brandee again for that wonderful gesture. I would recommend the Black Oak to anyone thinking about staying. It's also a great location to stay if you are thinking about doing some wine tasting in the area.

We stayed at Best Western plus Black Oak Paso Robles for 2 nights on June 23-25 Sun-Tuesday. We got a good rate being these days and as a member of Best Western. I know each hotel can have a few differences as the last one I stayed at in Monterey Bay had continental breakfast and this one did not. But as I already knew this I didn't mind. I can still say we truly enjoyed our stay, our room was very clean and comfortable I enjoyed being able to make coffee and tea every morning and appreciate all the extra creamer and coffee/tea bags. Also there was a microwave which was nice to reheat foods and beverages. I liked the little extras like shampoo/conditioner, qtips, cotton balls, makeup remover, hand sanitizer and the citrus lotion my husband used. We were on the first floor in room 207 which is close to the pool so we got to enjoy using it, extra towels were available at check in and there are 2 bathrooms for pool users. The 101 freeway is right there and it was easy to get anywhere. Also by the 46 which took us to our reason for staying to visit Sensorio Field of Lights. There are places to eat like pizza, a Denny's, McDonald's, Starbucks, barbecue, a Margies diner, and a taco/burrito place just a close walk right next to hotel, as well as a Chevron. I would highly recommend staying here as it was a really nice comfortable stay. King bed was super comfy.

This was one of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed at. Quality can be uneven among BW properties, but this one was very comfortable and friendly. Occupancy was low the night we stayed there, so the manager put us in the Honeymoon Suite, which was very large, very comfortable, very quiet, well furnished. Even has a Jacuzzi tub for two. Only negative comment is that the decor is a bit old and dated. And because the shower is small, maybe replace the shower head with one that can be detached and used as a sprayer. Unlike other BW's, this one does not have a breakfast buffet, but there is a coffee shop on the property and the front desk gives a $5 per person voucher for use there. The coffee shop, Margie's, has a good breakfast menu, not expensive, with large portions.

Cannot say enough good things . This property continues to deliver a great stay. Always immaculate. Price is good. The owner keeps putting money back in for upgrades, like new workout room, carpet and furniture.

We were going to the Three Speckled Hens ' antique show so the location of this hotel was perfect. Rooms were neat and tidy, amenities great (except I don't like the smell of citrus, imagine that living in California), pool area was spotless and chairs most comfortable. Not a complaint from the three of us! So convenient to the fairgrounds. Plus it always helps to have a happy friendly staff at the front desk and on the grounds. All three of us Loved the reading light on the headboard! Way to go! Finally a hotel where we can read in bed at night!!

We chose this hotel for the last night of our weeklong road trip. We got delayed and the front desk called to confirm if we were still interested in checking in, which I appreciate. Once we got there I relayed how my best friends daughter dropped and spilled her root beer float only minutes before we arrived. They knew we had a long day and the kids were melting down. Michelle made sure to give us extra cookies and Robyn even gave us her ice cream sandwich. Such lovely and thoughtful women. It has the older layout, like a highway motor lodge with exterior doors. I appreciated how convenient the location was to the freeway, close to a gas station and several food options. It was only a few minutes drive from downtown Paso Robles where there were many nice dining options. The room itself slept 5, two in each queen bed and one on the sofa bed. I had never seen a single sofa bed before, it took some figuring out, I may have missed instructions. The room was stylishly furnished, clean and updated. The beds were very comfortable. I appreciated all the little extras in the toiletries basket, this being our third BW this week, they included more helpful things than any of the others. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in town. One thing- this BW does not offer a free breakfast but they do offer coupons for the diner next door, $5 off pp next door. I wasn't a fan of the diner, I found it overpriced on a per person basis $12-$16pp although each plate could feed two people. The problem for us was that we all wanted different food, and they wouldn't let adults order the smaller kids meals. We saw two other families look at the prices and leave while we were there. Food was fresh, I just wasn't impressed enough to want to pay $15 again for eggs toast potatoes and bacon. That said BW had coffee and apples in their lobby.

Best Western Black Oak was really clean and had modern decor. Layout of the guest room dated this hotel but the cleanliness and fresh decor put a nice spin on an older styled layout. Location was ideal - on HWY 46 just west of 101.

The rooms are clean and roomy. We enjoyed the connecting cafe with a good menu. While we prefer rooms not accessible from the outside, this was relatively quiet and safe. Even though it is an older facility, it was well maintained.

Caution: Rip off pricing. When checking in I was informed the prices were $50.00 a night more than their website published a week prior. Why? There was a special event in town so they were taking advantage of the increased traffic to add to their profit! What a sham.

Was genuinly impressed by all aspects of this facility. Many "little" touches were special and appreciated. Don't remember if I've stayed at a Best Western before but I will certainly be looking to in the future.

It is so convenient to walk to local restaurants from this location. Have to go to Rustic Fire and the surrounding others. Margie's Diner is a complete bargain for breakfast when you use Best Westerns coupon. This is our place to stay when we visit Paso Robles!!!

I have stayed here a couple of times. It's not fancy or anything but they do a really good job. It;s an older (exterior) looking motel but the room i stayed in was recently updated. It was great! Comfy bed, sheets, clean, nice TV and good internet. And the staff is friendly. What else do you want? I will be back.

Great customer service. The staff here goes out of their way to make you feel like you are at home. The rooms are very comfortable. The exercise rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is always asking how they can make your stay better. lots of good eateries less than a few minutes walking distance.

This was a decent hotel right off the main drag with pleasant rooms and a very comfortable bed. The street scenery just outside was a bit depressing though, and the hotel has no true grounds to sit outside in nature.

For a chain hotel, the Best Western Black Oak in Paso Robles is quite nice and a good value. The front desk was thorough and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, easy to use TV. There were soft linens and plenty of them as well as the soap and extra "goodies", the little candies were a nice touch! The coffee was not great, but I like strong coffee, hard to find in many hotels. The room I had was quiet, tucked off to one side and away from the stairs and elevator, and having an elevator was helpful. I never heard toilets flushing either. You were offered free cookies and there were bottles of water in the room as well. All in all, thoughtful touches for the amenities.

I have no complaints about this hotel. It is super clean, staff is great, location within walking distance to food. If you are attending anything at the fairgrounds you just need to walk across the street. The bed was comfortable. The only thing that was difficult was parking. We stayed during a big livestock show which meant lots of big trucks. The parking lot was not made for that.

We planned a quick overnight getaway to Paso Robles, Best Westerns are our go-to mid-range hotel/motel--we are members so we get points and free nights, we know they adhere to an acceptable quality standard for the important things--cleanliness and bed quality. We were not disappointed, we were greeted by an enthusiastic and helpful front desk staff (Sharon) who helped us plan our wine tasting adventure and gave us some tasting coupons and restaurant recommendations. Our special request of a quiet room was honored, we were located in a far corner with empty rooms on either side. However the walls are thin, it is near a busy road and we could hear the person upstairs walking around. I slept with ear plugs so still got a good night sleep, the beds were quite comfortable and the sheets very soft. Rooms have been updated with newer furniture and artwork, the pool area, workout room (nice machines), hot tub and sauna were all very nice (too cold in Jan for us to swim though the pool is heated and we heard guests in there). Unlike many Best Westerns, it does not offer breakfast but had apples, snacks and coffee in the reception area, and a Starbucks and quaint diner right next door.

Excellent location, the bed was so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me, the staff were friendly, provided coupons to wineries as well as to the restaurant next-door for breakfast! Will definitely revisit

I stay at this hotel every trip up and down the coast! I travel from Ventura to the Bay Area often and always look forward to staying here. Paso Robles is a located in the the Gold Coast. The Mid State Fair is awesome.

I stayed here to recover from surgery. The staff, including Grant, Francisco, Maria and Luce and other front desk people was the best. Everyone was kind, courteous and helpful. The gardens here are beautiful even in winter with plenty of room for a nice walk. Outdoor tables and chairs are nice on a sunny day. Although close to busy Camino Real, this place is quiet. I had a very good experience.

We stayed two nights during a tour of Central Coast wineries. Friendly staff at reception and housekeepers. The room was clean and comfortable. Note that guest rooms open on to exterior corridors. In-room amenities even included a small bottle of sanitizer. The hotel also gave us discount breakfast vouchers for Margies, the diner located on the property. Nice hotel in a great location. We would stay again.

This was one of the cleanest and nicest hotels encountered for the median price. Very pleasantly surprised at the quality and eagerness of staff to please and make the stay enjoyable, from the front desk staff to the cleaning staff.

The hotel is clean and the help staff, housekeeping and facilities are very friendly, polite, and helpful. Breakfast is pricey, average meal close to $20 per adult serving. The desk provides a $5 voucher per occupant.

I'm a Best Western rewards member so we always try and stay in this hotel chain. This Best Western was definitely one of the better ones, it is family owned for over 60 years and you can see the pride of ownership. There is a lot of attention to detail that went into these rooms and they are immaculately clean with a friendly knowledgeable staff. We had the superior king and it was spacious and nicely decorated. The pool area was inviting but it was a little cool to take advantage of it. The hotel sits on the Black Oak corner cross roads of Paso Robles next to the event center and about a 30 minute walk to downtown (we did this walk twice and felt safe). I loved all the perks about this particular Best Western but mostly their well trained staff. If you find fault with this place, maybe you shouldn't leave home, we loved it and will be back.

It was a lovely, comfortable room, large, comfy bed, nice appointments. They don't have breakfast but give a $5 off coupon plus free coffee at the wonderful restaurant next door. Very clean and helpful staff.

I like Best Western Plus and Premier hotels because they've been remodeled with lots of soundproofing between rooms. I never hear anything from the room next door. I was concerned because my room was right next to the ice and drinks machine, but visitors went to bed early and I was out cold, I never woke up to any noise overnight. The bed was wonderfully cozy. It was very soft, not what I'd want for every night, but the sheets were super soft, I was exhausted, it was perfect. There was no free breakfast, just a $5 voucher for the adjacent diner. I went there for dinner and it was good, but breakfasts were pricey, so I went to the Starbucks in the adjacent mini-mall, got more bang for my buck. Paso Robles was a stopover, I wasn't touring the town, so location wasn't important. If I were touring the town, I'd try to find a hotel in the thick of things, but otherwise I'd stay there again, it was perfectly nice.

Nice enough bathroom and bedroom, but no breakfast and problems with checking -in and all else. We had to go to a restaurant for our gratuitionish breakfast, but pay for it. One of our big pluses with Best Western Hotels for us are the free parking, WiFi and breakfasts. So, give this one a miss!

Overall, Best Western hotels are nice but this hotel, was outstanding! The room was super nice, there was a restaurant on the property that was excellent but a little expensive, and who doesn't want a cookie each day :) (There are free cookies and coffee in the lobby) I just want to comment on the maids! They were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We were staying at the hotel on business and they went above and beyond to make sure each night when we arrived back at the hotel that we were welcomed to a very tidy room, replenished water bottles and amenities, and extra towels that we didn't have to ask for! To me, it's the little things that matter!

The room was gorgeous. The bed and linens provided a great night sleep. It was very quiet which was surprising since it is so close to the highway. They have a beautiful pool, a fitness center and at a relatively reasonable price. We stay at Best Westerns often and the "Plus" really does mean extras! A step up of quality that we always appreciate.

This property had the best-designed ADA shower of any ADA room I've stayed in (no flooding!). The room was clean, my service dog was welcome (although they otherwise do not accept dogs); the property had some interesting features – a beautiful stone sculpture of an owl, for instance. No breakfast provided, just $5 off the next-door diner. I ate other places...

We stayed at Best Western Plus Black Oak at the end of a long road trip in California and what a perfect way to end our vacation. We have traveled extensively and from now on I will measure all hotels by the standards this one sets. It looks pretty ordinary from the outside, but step inside the room and comfort awaits you!! 2 bottles of water, a small dish of candy as others mentioned, but waaaaaay beyond that are touches you don't often see unless you are spending big money! I loved the telephone and extra sink in the shower/toilet room, as well as another sink outside the shower room. Great complementary toiletries and a retractable lighted makeup mirror! Always appreciate having coffee in the room, but this one also offered hot chocolate.. A small alcove with refrigerator and microwave had 2 small dimmer lights which we used as night lights--GREAT TOUCH! Also each queen bed had small spotlights on each side for late night reading when your hubby wants to sleep and you don't! The bedding was super crisp and fresh, pillows and mattress comfy, and towels abundant, fluffy and white white! Everything was clean--carpet unstained! We also enjoyed the pool area which we had all to ourselves. Nice choice of sun or shade, plus a hot tub if you choose to use. The grounds were tidy and attractive. Thank you BW Black Oak for giving us a final night of great service and accommodations while visiting California. My husband mentioned he would consider coming back JUST to spend a week at this hotel to relax!

The high quality of this hotel is way beyond what I would expect for the price we paid. The reception desk area was very impressive and what was more impressive was to see that level of quality in our unit. Also the swimming pool area was far better than I would have expected. Anyone traveling in this area in need of a place to spend a night or more would be well advised to choose this location. In the future I will definitely be looking to book reservations at a Best Western Plus.

The room was huge! The decor was very welcoming and there were 2 free bottles of water, a dish of candy, great bath products, soft water, free wifi, a restaurant, and a free cookie at check-in! Way better than I had hoped for and close to Vino Robles Amphitheater where I was going to a concert. Only about 5 minutes away! I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is great love the salted water heated pool. The room was clean and big it had it all. Breakfast at the diner was good with huge served sizes. My truck broke down while we were there and the staff was so helpful and gracious. We could not ask for more. We will be going back there for sure.

At first we were a little concerned this place will be noisy since it was near the freeway, but it was very quiet and we had an excellent stay. Extras like welcome cookies at the lobby, in room coffee/tea, microwave/fridge (but no freezer), hand sanitizer, free wifi, and coupon for excellent breakfast at Maggies were just perks that we enjoyed. We didn't use the pool but it looked inviting. A short 5 minute drive to downtown Paso Robles for dinner at many great restaurants. Will definitely stay again next time we are in Paso.

Great Staff, room was amazing for the price. great location for my needs. I had a superior room with a Juccuzzi tub in the bathroom with extremely strong jets. The bed was comfortable and the overall experience was wonderful

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for two nigths for a weeding in the area. Very clean and confortable, we enjoyed so much.they have a few lilttle restaurants around the corner,a Dennys as well. The Wi-Fi works perfect.We will comeback.

Great location to get into downtown and to go wine tasting and out to the lake. The hotel was starting to be renovated on the day we check out. We felt the hotel was in great condition during out stay, so its great to see they are continuing to stay updated. Would stay there again.

We were greeted warmly at check-in and the experience continued great from there. I liked the spacious room and the fact that there were two sinks, one with a long counter for holding plenty of items. The bed was very comfortable. There was a jacuzzi tub that we didn't use (just wish it had been big enough for two :). We really appreciated the daily $10 off per person coupon for the on-site Margie's restaurant. We had two delicious breakfasts there. The location was close to a few wineries. The grounds are nice - including a BBQ area, pool, hot tub. The price was higher on the weekend by almost double, but overall reasonable. We attended a wedding at the Paso Robles Inn. They wouldn't let me book Sat. & Sun. for some reason so we decided to stay here. Honestly, it was much cheaper, but certainly nice enough for us. I would book again in a heartbeat. The only caveat: they offered complimentary water bottles, but we weren't convinced they were previously unopened. We had brought our own so it wasn't an inconvenience for us.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel's location is perfect for a visit to wine country. It's a mile from downtown Paso Robles; one night we walked since it was a nice evening. It is also a great location for visiting the region's many wineries.

Good service good rooms convenient to many things we only stay here when in Paso. Just wish they allowed pets they are one of probably very few who don't. Good for traveling with kids, don't have to look for restaurants. There are many good choices for famiilies right next door

My husband stayed here often when growing up (we are seniors now). We stayed here on our first visit to Paso Robles many years ago when we discovered Paso Wines Great staff very clean very comfortable rooms. We needed a room for the disabled, and my husband remarked it is the BEST he has ever had. The shower had a bench in it, most don't and some don't supply shower chairs. The shower was large and had a spray showerhead for him to use that he could hold in his hand and for me there was a regular showerhead. Very large shower and unlike most hotels this one had a slight step to keep the water from going all over the floor. There is Margie's diner which years ago when we ate there, was not good but we were in a hurry so we ate there and were pleasantly surprised. VERY large portions and they are right next door to the Black Oak who supplies discount coupons for Margie's. Also there are several restaurants on the other side of the hotel, great for traveling with kids and there are lots of choices, hamburger's pizza, great salads Mexican, etc. Great location highly recommend

Very nice, clean facility. Good air conditioning; near freeway and restaurants. Didn't like the pillows on the bed. There were many pillows but all the same. Lots of plugs and lots of light. Staff are all friendly and helpful

Older style hotel, but clean and comfortable. Many folks seemed to be pass through traffic. All staff we spoke to were great and the price was right. We had an end room that had 2 queen beds and a couch. The hotel has ample parking, a pool and weight room and is close to several places to eat and a short car ride to the hub of the city. This hotel does not have a free breakfast however you do get a $5 coupon for the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, which has good diner type food. Wifi was decent. I would stay here again on my way through or if doing some wine tasting in the area.

We stayed in the whirlpool King suite........which all the amenities were excellent in appearance and condition. The Room was very cosy, spacious, comfortable and clean. Freakin huge Jacuzzi bath tube perfect for two with built-in wall speakers to set the romantic mood. The king bed was a California king. The vanity area was very large with double sink areas. Oh yeah, there is also a separate shower across from the cool swinging double doors in the restroom area. Very quiet atmosphere and perfect cooler summer time weather conditions. The Best Western Black Oak gets a 10 out of 10 rating for overall staff, area, location, conveniences and atmosphere. We had a great stay and great time visiting the coastal area lakes and beaches.

We have stayed at this hotel for the past 4 years every time the fair comes to town. Great location, prices are decent, good facilities, comfy beds! Four girls in the 2 queen room and plenty of space. Love that we can just walk around and lots to see!

This is a very nice hotel to stay in with everything it has to offer. We stayed here because the hotels at San Luis Obispo were either all full or too much money for a bed. It has a refrigerator microwave & coffee pot in the room which is very nice to use. I just wish it had breakfast instead of just a five dollar voucher for the restaurant . We will stay here again probably later in the year.

This is the "best" Best Western that we have visited. We were on an 8 day road trip to Paso Robles and it was our favorite lodging during the entire trip. The front counter staff was extra friendly with easy check in and out. They answered question for us regarding the city. The rooms were quit and all of the small extra's were wonderful. We loved the hanging lighted magnifying mirror and bright bathroom lighting. Extra towels, and large bars of soap along with special shampoos and lotion. Enjoyed the glass coffee mugs instead of paper cups, and the microwave and refrigerator were in a great easy access location instead of hidden low in a cabinet. The housekeeping service was excellent. They all were courteous and cheerful and our rooms were spotless. The breakfast coupons for Margie's Diner was such a refreshing treat. After eight days, we had had enough of the complimentary breakfast scene. The pool area was also very clean and well maintained. We would differently recommend this Best Western and we salute the leadership of this establishment because we could tell the entire staff enjoyed their jobs and liked coming to work.

I remember road trips with my family in which we would head across various states and stop at hotels and motels of all sorts. I remember Best Westerns as having the most character, and this is the first one I've been to in well over a decade, as far as I can remember. I am having work done in my home, and wanted to experience an interesting hotel in a nearby town to where I live. Paso Robles is an eclectic place where the sun often shines, and if you can turn away from the 101 interstate corridor, the coastal breezes sweep across acres of grapes and grassy hilltops. Downtown Paso looks like something out of Downtown Disney to me (new storefronts, fancy brick patios, crosswalks, and a picturesque park in the center), but with lots of local business and some neat historic structures to check out as well. Just off the 101, among some food and beverage chains, sits this Best Western low-rise hotel. It feels more like a motel to me, and I was wary to step inside as a hotel snob... but the attention to detail, cleanliness, and thoughtful amenities makes this a wonderful stay. I stepped inside the room to the fresh scent of "hotel clean" .. kind of a combination of new car smell and fresh linen (real fresh linen, not fake fresh linen..) and I note that the room has little drinking glasses and coffee mugs with those "sanitized" bags and plastic seals over them. I didn't think anyone even did that anymore, it's so nice (maybe I'm gullible, but I feel more confident). The coffee machine was spotless. A 32 inch flatscreen TV with one of those sanitized remote controls, beds with decorative duvets and that weird 6 foot by 2 foot cover thing across the bottom (what is that even for?) make it feel cozy and up to date. Among the amenities: 2 bars of soap at the sink, and a bath bar at the (spotless) tub. Lots of perfectly clean towels. Fancy lotion, citrus shampoo and conditioner. Q-tips in a little packet, so I can dry inside my ears after showering. A tiny, personal bottle of hand sanitizer! Who doesn't want another of those for their road trip experience? This is a great idea. I take the ice bucket outside so i can feed my iced coffee habit and get some writing done, and I hear a gurgling fountain just bubbling away by the stairs in the lush plantings. I gaze across the parking lot at the warmly lit pool and realize this is just a nice pleasant place. An experience. There is a diner attached to the hotel building, where I'll try the breakfast tomorrow. But for tonight, this will be a nice rest after a day of exploring and writing. This hotel has a number of different types of rooms: suites, businessy rooms, king rooms, and "standard" rooms. So lots of choices. You're mainly overlooking a parking lot, so it's not terribly picturesque, but as a home base to get rest and sleep after a long day, this is a wonderful place I will definitely see again.

Overall this is an extremely nice, well-maintained facility. It is located near a freeway on/off ramp, but the rooms are quiet. The room was clean and neat, and the bed was was quite comfortable. The lack of a complimentary breakfast is the only negative aspect.

Expedia recommended this hotel over others because of our large family size. We've stayed at all the major hotels, but Best Western was a first. I'm glad to say that I was entirely impressed by my how attentive the staff was. I've never been treated so well before! Or room included perks that I've also never seen before. Of course there's always free stuff in the bathrooms (who doesn't take the leftovers home:)) but their inclusion of citrus organic/vegan soap products really impressed us. A comfortable bed and adequate room sized made me reach the decision to search for Best Westerns FIRST, wherever I travel to, from now on. Thanks!

I was here again with a large group. The hotel was very accommodating...as usual! The rooms are nicely decorated and clean with very comfortable bedding. We got to spend some time in the pool and hot tub and both were very nice. Plenty of eats and drinks nearby as well. We'll be back!

I stayed here with a group of 10 friends while traveling up the coast towards San Francisco. I would definitely recommend this hotel. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and professional staff. The rooms were super clean and everything looked brand new. After being on the road for so long it was a joy to rest and recover for a night.

We stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding in the area. Unfortunately, the wine festival was going on the same weekend, so the room was a bit pricey...I'd hate to see the rates for other hotels on the weekend, being that this was a "deal". The property is nice and is kept up. The room had plenty of space and didn't feel too tight. Even on the second floor next to the stairs, it wasn't too noisy, which was a definite plus. The only disturbance we encountered was when the housekeeping staff was gearing up for the morning and not being very quiet about it. There is various food available within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but $5 vouchers are given to use at the diner right next door. The location is convenient to Highway 101 and a short drive to Downtown.

Lovely grounds nicely redone rooms. Spacious and well appointed for a family run business. Loved the pool and hot tub garden area. Very tropical and relaxing reasonably priced right off highway exit and near wine country

The value quotient on this hotel in Paso was high. Relatively inexpensive which is positive but the hotel has seen better days. It is a bit outdated and there was a musty smell in my room. Plus it was loud outside and the walls were a bit thin so i could hear people arguing. Thus i didn't have a very good sleep. There is no restaurant or bar which wasn't very good. For my first night in Paso, it was OK.

Bests Western Plus Black Oak is a standout property for this franchise. Well priced, well-appointed, with clean if slightly spare rooms and enough amenities for comfort. The location is convenient for travelers, and also perfect for events at the Paso Fairgrounds. Excellent.

This is by far the nicest BW hotel I have stayed in. Rooms are very large and well appointed. Hotel complex is an older facility but well maintained. Good family place with pool. Within walking distance to fair grounds and restaurants.

The hotel was very nice and easy to access off of highway 46 or 101. The hotel does not have breakfast but provides cupons for the dinner that is adjacent to the property. I will be back next time I am in Paso.

The location of the hotel was excellent. My friends stay in another hotel. I am glad I chose Best Western. The staff made my stay pleasant. I had a small request at last minute and they helped me out with no problems.

Can't go wrong here ! Very quiet, clean and everything you need within walking distance. The room was immaculate, the bed was very comfortable, and the whole place was quiet . Definitely would stay here any time I'm in this area!

Black oak is a great motel I will return each year for my art show and stay at this motel. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of room in the room , made it feel like home . The reasturant was very good , food was plentyful.

Drove down to Paso Robles to do a one day bicycle ride with friends. Chose to stay at this motel and am glad. Room was pleasant to be in and large enough to accommodate me and my bike. I could spread out all over the room and no one cared! Had breakfast both mornings at the restaurant next door. Getting a $5 coupon and free hot tea was a bonus. Soaking in the hot tub that wasn't a lobster bath was nice too.

I was driving home from San Diego so stopped at the Best Western in Paso Robles for the night. Check-in was superb. The staff was so super nice which was great after having to deal with slow Spring Break traffic. While the hotel is older, its still a nice stay. King size bed was comfy The towels are nice. There is candy in the room. There was also a comfortable recliner. For breakfast, they give you a five dollar off coupon for the restaurant (a couple of minutes walk from one's room). Breakfast was good. Location is easy on off from highway 101. Its very convenient location for wineries, cafes, fairgrounds, and just a short drive to the nice downtown Paso Robles area. Price was very reasonable.

Had a wonderful weekend in Paso Robles March 16, 2018. The hotel was centrally located. Front Desk Staff very friendly. Hotel was old but very clean. Outdoor hot tub good. Sauna OK. Price was reasonable. Breakfast at on site diner was very good and discounted $5.00. Would stay again.

Although there are newer, fancier places to stay in Paso Robles, the Black Oak is our lodging of choice. It is older, but well maintained, in a convenient location, and the staff friendly and always helpful. The rooms are comfortable, with a microwave and refrigerator, and the housekeeping typically excellent. If you plan wine tasting, the front desk offers a wide selection of free or discount coupons for visiting most of the area wineries, as well as wine country maps. It was a very nice, large clean room. Very easy access right off of the freeway and close to some nice restaurants like Big Bubba BBQ. They have a nice fitness center and swimming pool. You get a $5 off of your breakfast next door at Magies cafe. I would stay again.

We stayed here for two nights during a wine festival and pleasantly surprised by this place. The common area had nice garden plants, fountains in cute places, plus a nice pool and Jacuzzi area. Hallways, elevators and stairs all clean and conveniently located for ease of guests as they get from car to room. You can also find convenient vending machines as well as washers and dryers for those needing laundry service. Our unit was on the second floor with two queen beds and was very clean upon arrival. The furnishings are nicely done and very comfortable. The one bed units offer a comfy sofa and chair setup. We had a microwave and small refrigerator, along with coffee maker. Heating and cooling worked well, almost too good. The personal amenities were abundant with a dish of mints, hand sanitizer, shower caps, soap etc (replenished daily). A better assortment of items than some higher end hotels we have stayed. Sleep quality was very good here. The front desk provided early check in and also offered breakfast coupons for $5 off each person's meal at the attached diner. I was amazed at the level of quality and value here. I cannot say enough good things except regretfully convey one small downfall. The water softening system seemed to be working improperly as the water from sink facets and shower tasted like salt water. White foaming, ocean like water could be pooled up in the palm of our hands when we turned on the faucets! There was no way to drink this water or make coffee with it. Upon checking out we mentioned this issue with the front desk who indicated they were working on a service order to fix the problem. Had it not been for this water issue than I would have given this review 5 stars, which is unheard of for a Best Western chain hotel. Hopefully they can fix this problem since this place is a real gem at reasonable prices. You can walk to the adjacent Starbucks coffee or other food services. The hotel has easy freeway access but none of the noise. The attached diner offers delicious and HUGE breakfast portions, enough to be split. Overall a great stay after we bought bottled water !

The heating/cooling system in my room did not work properly. I was too tired to move rooms which was the only solution they offered. Considering what I paid, not a very good value. The room had a funny smell, so without air moving in the room, that was a little strong. They give you a coupon to eat at the restaurant which serves the largest portions I have ever seen at a restaurant.

Located in a hectic center of tourist coming and going this place is a surprise. While it is a typical "motel" the rooms are quiet and solid. There is a well maintained pool, rooms are moderate in size with a seating area and small table. It is clean and comfortable.

I spent the weekend with friends to go wine tasting. The location is great - just outside downtown shops and restaurants. The facilities were so-so. The walls are quite thin and we could here the guests staying in the room next to us so I'm sure they could hear us as well. Also, the night before we left, the water became very salty and continued through the following day. Up until then I had been drinking the water from the tap. Very odd!

The room was clean and quiet until the phone wouldn't stop ringing at 3:00 and 4:00 am. Hotel solicitors trying to sell the hotel towels or something.,Worst part was-no one could get back to sleep. An attempt to contact the front desk about this issue was unsuccessful because the front seat phone was busy busy busy then it just rang and rang. Very frustrating. Best western needs to fix that issue and really should have comped us that night. That being said, The staff was friendly and accommodating on the other nights and upon check in.

Clean, nice rooms. Though about 1.4 miles from Paso Robles square, it's an easy walk if you don't want to drive and it is a good location right off 101 (surprisingly, we couldn't hear it from in our room). A standard king had everything we needed including in-room coffee maker, a microwave, fridge and even a fly-swatter. Also some nice touches like a small candy bowl and free newspapers. Love the $5 credit for breakfasts at the restaurant next door. Pool and hot tub area was clean and enjoyable. Loud, late night users of the hot tub one night were quelled in reasonable time. Cn't say enough about the staff who were very pleasant, professional (obviously very well trained) and helpful. Such a great value! We will return.

We spent two nights here . Very close in proximity to great wineries . Lots of small places around to eat ( with Starbucks next door). We do prefer the BWs that have there own continental breakfast. You get $5 off breakfast at Margies diner. Breakfast there is $15++ so not a great savings (although the food is very good and the portions huge.

I like Best Westerns in general. They are reliable. But this hotel went way above and beyond from check in to check out! Friendly staff explained breakfast ($5. off the diner next door), we got fresh backed cookies, they had coffee and tea in the lobby. The room was thoughtfully appointed in every way from table top outlets for charging devices to all tile bathroom floors, wonderful shower, fully stocked mini bath supplies, coffee and tea in the room + small bowl of nice hard candies, fridge and microwave. Easy internet and super comfy reclining rocking chair. Perfect for using with your lap top. Bed and pillows were SO comfortable. I truly hated to get up. I own vacation properties and understand what it takes to put together a thoughtful and well organized guest space. This was definitely a 5 star in every way. I called directly to the hotel and got the best price by far then more discount with AAA card. (bonus for those of you who read the whole review :)

We had a family get-together, staying here. It's close to the freeway, a good point in that it is very easy for people to find. We were concerned about freeway noise. There was none! The place is quiet! The rooms we had were recently remodeled. Everything was like new and nicely done. Our room was large and comfortable. The rates are very competitive. There's an elevator even though it has only two floors. The lobby is small; no room for more than about 3 people to gather. In our stay, there was nothing lacking.

Had a late night check-in due to the long drive & traffic yet the staff when we arrived was very helpful as she talked about food & drinks. The room did have a smoke smell but the bed was amazingly comfortable, water pressure was on point, single coffee maker made for a nice touch, and had a mini fridge & microwave for longer stays. Double check your bill on the way out the door to make sure it's all correct. Regardless I would recommend this place!

We chose the Black Oak on the fly after evacuating SoCal as a result of the wildfires there. It was easy, the staff was friendly, and they provided a generous discount. It doesn't have all of the amenities some of the surrounding hotels have (i.e., a bar, a fancy breakfast, etc.) but it was perfect for our family.

Big comfortable rooms, pleanty of parking,great appearence both around the property as well as in the rooms. Very welcoming and caring staff. Several eating places within a very short walk, from Starbuck's to Burger's, Mexican, and Pizza as well as full size diner on property. This hotel is located within easy access to US 101, and CA 46 and the wonderful wineries of the area. Gas stations are right across the street. I've stayed here several times, for all the previous reasons and will again.

We have been staying at the Black Oak for many years and the experience has always more than met our expectations. The rooms are super nice, the staff is helpful, the overall appearance is very impressive. There is a restaurant on the property that is very good; you sure won't go hungry - large portions.

This hotel seems to be family run and owned. If it is not, it sure has that feel. It is always a joy and comfort to stay here as we do 1 night a year, the same night every year on a night drive from N. Ca to S. Ca. The lobby welcomes you with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, hot & cold water, a basket of apples and newspapers. Brandee was by far the most helpful of each of the staff members I encountered. My sister was getting married and I needed an additional last-minute room added to my reservation. Not only did I need a room, I needed a handicap accessible room for my 95 year old Grandmother. When I called, I knew that rooms were limited (especially given the Thanksgiving weekend) so I did not have high hopes. Brandee was not only helpful and accommodating, she went above and beyond to help make sure my Grandmother had a place to stay. She informed me when I called that all of the handicap rooms were being held, but that if one was released, she would call me immediately. The next morning, she calls me to tell me that she was not able to get a handicap room for me, but she did have a King Bed Sleeper sofa room that had plenty of space for a wheelchair. I was so impressed that she took the initiative to follow up with me and offer me alternatives. Most individuals would simply call back and not give any sort of options. Brandee also made sure that the shower had a seat for my Grandmother to sit, and she personally made sure to have a handle bar installed by the toilet to also make my Grandmother's stay easier and more comfortable. I am the Sales Manager for the Marriott Plaza in San Antonio Texas, and I have been in the hospitality industry for a very long time. I have met many hospitality associates, and I can honestly say that Brandee was one of the most pleasant and professional young women I have had the pleasure of encountering on my travels. I have stayed at this hotel in the past with no issues. This time, my husband woke up with bites all over his feet. I reported to the staff and the manager called me and left me a message stating their housekeeping staff did not find anything in our room. The very least they could have done was comp the room or give us a discount. Very disappointed.

This is the best motel I have stayed in with great breakfast, pool, fitness room, Hot-tub, and a very good location. The rooms are spotless, roomy, comfortable with ALL the necessary amenities -- Internet, TV, Coffeemaker, refrigerator and even a microwave !!

This motel style of accommodation is just off highway 101 at Paso Roubles the provides very cost effective and comfortable accommodation. The rooms are large and include a microwave and fridge as well as the usual facilities. The hotel also has a lovely pool which is open all year round and a reasonable gym room for use by guests. There's no food available onsite although there's Margie's Diner yards away that provides breakfast, the hotel providing a $5 voucher. For dinner there's a Big Bubbas Bad BBQ eatery very close that provides a very good BBQ style meal.

We found this hotel to be conveniently located near the highway, yet quiet. Good amenities, including the pool (but too cold to use it). We had a convenient ground floor room, which worked best for us as we had bicycles to store indoors. Overall good value, pleasant staff, average breakfast.

We thought this hotel was a gem in the desert. We had stayed the previous night in a horrible place due to desperation and were so glad to find this wonderful place to stay. I would rate the cleanliness of our room high. Very comfortable beds. Loved the little extras that I did not expect, such as the keurig coffee maker in the room and the magnified mirror in the bathroom portion so I could do my make up. Very cool!

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Pool was fun for the kids and breakfast voucher was a nice bonus. We have a family of 6 and were surprised with the luck of having an upgrade which made it an even better trip. Having a Starbucks in the parking lot never hurts.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and will be staying there again. The rooms are clean and well-kept. There are extra amenities. The service is outstanding. I intentionally go through Paso Robles on my way to San Francisco just so I can stay at the Best Western Black Oak.

Very enjoyable diamond in the rough place. The hostess Ana is especially helpful and friendly. This is not a Hilton resort, but for the money you save and the pampering from the staff, you won't lose out. Close to all the wineries and fine dining.

This is a great hotel in Paso. About 1 mile from the little downtown area. The rooms were nice and big and very clean and the beds were comfortable. We come to Paso quite a bit and will definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay here for our Harvest Wine Weekend. Despite being laid out in a motel style, the hotel is very quiet (we were on the 2nd floor). There is a diner nest door that the front desk will give you a $5/pp voucher for. Breakfasts are great, and portions are HUGE - we ordered omelets on our first day there and ate leftovers for the next 2 days, thanks to our in-room fridge and microwave! One of our favorite things was that the hotel doors do not SLAM shut!! YAY!!! Makes for a nice quiet sleep. The air conditioner's fan will run continuously no matter what temp you set it at, nice white noise to sleep with. And the hotel recycles. Love love love that! Coffee and filtered water in the lobby...so you can fill up your water bottle before a day of wine tasting.

The Black Oak's location makes it easy to visit the many wineries in the area, and they have special connections to Highway 46 wineries. It is also offers easy access to Paso Roble's many other places of interest. And you can do this all from the comfort of the Black Oak's pleasant rooms and take advantage of their amenities.

We have used the Black Oak for our annual wine tour for approximately 12 years. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The staff is very accommodating. We will continue to stay there on our annual trip.

The location and feel of the property lend themselves to a fruitful, fun holiday in the area. The front desk staff were always readily willing to offer assistance with local attractions as well as truly interested to make sure each guest was satisfied. Although our room itself could have used a facelift and new carpeting due to a musty odor, the exterior amenities and cozy charm of the property made up for it.

we were on our vacation in California and we stopped off at this hotel overnight travelling between Calistoga and Santa Monica. The hotel room was very clean and massive. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was also the cheapest hotel we stayed in our whole trip! I wouldn't hesitate in stopping hear again in the future.

I was stunned at the overall level of thoughtful detail and crazy thorough customer service. Attractive and convenient site. Plenty of parking. Nice little sauna and clean pool area. The light fixtures had little levers for easy turn on/off. The beds were close to ideal.

It's darker than the others, as it's in a corner, and your window looks out on a wall about 4 or 5 feet away. Other rooms super.

This is my home away from home. I feel safe and it's so clean. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to have a quick chat to see how I am. I am well known to the employees since I work in Paso Robles. They are like an extended family. I am so pleased I picked your hotel...although other hotels offer same deal I still come back knowing I will have a pleasant stay.

AS with other BWs during our two week trip, we found this one very good. They also had a laundry area on first floor which we used, these machines were clean and not expensive. We were on the second floor, but the laundry was right underneath our area, so that was helpful.

Great stopping point for my trips to the bay area from Ventura CA. The staff is small town friendly and always add pleasure to my road trip. There are many local events in Paso Robles and great local wineries too. The Mid State Fairgrounds is walking distance.

Hotel is located right off of highway 101 which makes it very convenient. Property is well maintained and room was very spacious. I would have given them 5 Stars, if it hadn't been for the cock roaches in the bathroom. Luckily we didn't see them until we were packing to leave. The clerk at the front desk didn't seem concerned when I mentioned the bugs, so it may be a widespread issue???

We have stayed at the Black Oak for many years and have never had a less than satisfactory experience. Great hotel, great staff, great location. There is a very nice restaurant just around the corner (Bubba's) that has very good food and libations.

This Best Western facility is the best next to our stay in Henderson, Nevada Will stay here again when the opportunity arises. The information about the wineries was on point. I was in awe with the decor in the bathrooms.

This is actually a pretty quiet respite from 101 despite being right next to it. Very convenient to access to both Highway 46 and 101 with lots of restaurants and wineries nearby. Room decor was nice and the dual sinks, full jetted tub, and plenty of space in the room was unexpected. Would return.

Love the location for winetasting in Paso Robles. Close to several wineries. Midway stop on our way to Northern California. Convenient restaurant on the property. Clean and quiet and comfortable room.

Stayed on 9-9-17 and was charged $215 plus tax for a total of $243. This is not a Ritz Carlton or a five star resort on the beach in Maui. This is a 1970's era property that you park in front of your front door, has no free breakfast, and is dated. On check in I asked the desk clerk what big event was going on to justify such a high charge. With a straight face she said that was the regular rate. The room was spacious, had a frig and microwave, but had multiple flies in the room. Very disappointed with a high price and below average experience.

I really enjoy staying at the black oak. It's the best hotel in the area and has good rates. There a couple food options right next door for a quick easy dinner and the have a great pool and gym. They don't have a breakfast they give you a voucher to a diner, I don't like the diner but I never use the breakfast services anywhere, Starbucks next door instead!

We have stayed at this Best Western every year for the past 5 years. It is consistently very clean, beautiful grounds, and friendly, helpful staff. We always have breakfast at Margie's. Don't leave without trying it!

For a fairly low-priced hotel, I was more than happy to have stayed here. The staff was welcoming, rooms were nicely decorated and appointed. The real plus is the location, right next door to a Starbucks, a burger joint, a Mexican restaurant, and another restaurant I've forgotten, and what looked to be a very popular breakfast place and old fashioned diner. The hotel offered $5.00 breakfast vouchers there for each guest, although we didn't get a chance to try it.

Our stay at this hotel was as we expected as we almost always stay at a Best Western. We are never disappointed. It was in an excellent location and very quiet even though the freeway was very close. They do not allow pets nor smoking. The only complaint I would have is that smokers do light up right outside of the rooms and the smell permeates the surrounding area.

The hotel is nice. Location is close to highway. We stayed there before our visit to Hearst Castle which is only 36 miles from this hotel. Many wineries in the area. The room was nice and clean. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Only drawback was that therein no free breakfast. $ 5 voucher for breakfast at the restaurant was good enough for toast only

We were here a few years back and needed a place for the nite. We were a bit surprised to find they were no longer pet friendly, but it wasn't a big deal this trip. We stayed in a king-size room and truly enjoyed having a recliner and sofa. The bed was marvelous- very comfortable and new. We will definitely return.

Maggie's diner seemed quite overpriced but was decent food. The western BBQ place was wonderful for dinner. Would definitely visit again!

Was in town for a concert at Vino Robles Amphitheater and stayed here, great hotel with very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Very close to the Mid State Fairgrounds.Easy to get an Uber, and there's a shuttle service to and from the Vino Robles Amphitheater for a small fee.

Restaurant food was good but very expensive ($29 for pork chops!); would eat elsewhere. Room was spacious, bed comfortable, shower head excellent so after a hot day of wine tasting, this motel was perfect to refresh oneself.

The check in staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us information about the surrounding wineries as well as coupons for discounts at them. The layout of this BW is really, really nice with the rooms and parking arranged around a central pool area. We had one of the rooms with a small living room and I have to say this was one of the nicest rooms we have ever had in a hotel - and we spend more than 100 nights in hotels each year so that is saying something. Prior to this stop, we were at a Fairmont, and this room was even nicer, with small touches like free bottled water and a dish of candies. Bed and pillows were super-comfy. The bathroom was huge and even had a jetted tub. I would definitely return to this BW in the future!

This is a very nice place to stay , you have all the conveniences around you such as restaurant , food joints , stores. The beds are soft and the staff is friendly and was quite surprised with a ground floor level room it was very quiet. I would most definitely stay here again.

We stopped for 1 night so that we could do a wine tour in the Paso Robles area and our stay didn't disappoint. The lady on the front desk couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating, going out of her way to make sure we got a room we liked and giving us access to the pool as we had arrived really early in order to be picked up on time for our tour. She said it was no problem leaving our car there for the day and even tried to check us in early. She was unable to do so, but the fact she tried showed us how much she valued her customers. The usual Best Western perks were on offer in reception with access to drinks making facilities, sweets on the counter and apples. The hotel was less than a five minute drive from downtown where there are a range of places to eat. Next to the hotel is Margie's Diner where you can get your usual burgers, breakfasts etc. You get a $5 coupon for breakfast which includes free coffee. Although this is different to the usual continental breakfasts offered by a Best Western, it made for a nice change to sit down and order something. The French toast and eggs were pretty standard diner food but delicious all the same and good value. Our room was at the back on the first floor and was very quiet. The two queen beds were very comfortable and gave a great night's sleep. Everything was cleaned to a good standard and the room came with everything we needed for a quick stop - bottle of water, hot drink making facilities and toiletries which included some hand sanitiser - always useful on the road! It's these little extra things that we like from a Best Western so we weren't disappointed and would definitely stay here again when in Paso Robles.

I stayed at the Best Western in Paso Robles for one night. Check-in was good. Staff is friendly and also good. Small lobby area was nice. I stayed in a king size bed room. Bed was comfy and nice pillows. It was a peaceful sleep. I stayed on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator. The room also has a desk area, recliner chair, TV (with a good number of TV channels), free internet, chest of drawers, etc. The bathroom is split between sink area and shower area. There is also a refrigerator and microwave. The candy was a nice touch. The coffee maker was nice. There was a good variety of things to make - hot chocolate, several kinds of coffee, tea. The swimming pool is very nice with lots of seating around it. One can walk to a number of restaurants, cafes, fast food. Its across from the fair grounds. Its a short drive to downtown Paso Robles where I went to the movies. Price was very reasonable for the Central Coast area.

Our "go to" spot when we are in town. Has enough amenities to suit our needs and close to activities in the area. We enjoy the restaurant that is a few steps from our room and there are a few more dining options right next door. I enjoyed the coffee and tea in the lobby.

For the past couple of years I have gotten a room here mainly for the convenience and proximity to the fair. However, it is a lovely hotel and everything is clean and comfortable. I will continue to book here when coming to Paso Robles.

The BW+ in Paso Robles is by far the best Best Western we have stayed in. The property is large but exceptionally quiet. Rooms are large, comfortable and well-equipped. The staff is very pleasant and the breakfast, though fairly standard BW fare, is ample and well-presented.

Our second visit,centrally located to down town an wineries. The rooms have always been clean and decorated beautifully. Staff always goes above and beyond. This will always be our first choice when visiting Paso Robles.

Four of us arrived before check in and the employee at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating; letting us use pool facilities and even bringing the room keys out to the pool when our room was ready. This is the third time I have stayed at the Black Oak Best Western in Paso Robles and have always found it to be clean and employees friendly and helpful.

I have eaten a number of times at Margie's Restaurant right in front of the Black Oak Best Western but never stayed there until recently. I was very satisfied with my experience. The staff was helpful. The room was clean, well put together and had a number of amenities. Plus, a stay at the hotel comes with a $5 off discount at the Margie's in the morning. I thought it was a great hotel.

The amenities were very nice, Q-tips, cotton balls, shower cap, shower gel, sewing kit, and a bowl full of candy to name a few, along with the routine shampoo/conditioner and soap. I loved the lighted magnified make-up mirror in the room. My only disappointment was that a $5 breakfast voucher to the hotel restaurant was provided rather than the typically continental breakfast as most of the time I am on business and just grab and go. The hotel check-in staff could use a course in guest service as they were not very friendly to the guest before me or during my check-in. However, the room was beautiful and met my needs and then some.

The stay was great, The bed had a memory foam mattress. First time I ever slept on one. I am sold on investing one for the home. The room was very quiet and great amenities and more than other Best Westerns I've stayed at. The restaurant Margie's Diner has decent food and level of service by my server was very poor. For every one table he waited, the female associate diligently waited on four. My advice, be seated the the female server. Although over worked, she'll give you the attention needed.

Location is easily accessible off of Highway 101. Property is clean and attractive. Room was clean and comfortable with effective air conditioning (outside temp was 106 degrees!). Margie's Diner restaurant on property was excellent for a tasty and quick breakfast. Wouldn't hesitate to use this property again..

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The price was very good compared to other hotels that were 30 to 50 minutes up the road. If visiting Hearst Castle area it was a pleasant short drive and much cheaper than the hotels in that area. We would stay again.

The hotel is located with easy freeway access and close to many restaurants. It is a 5 min. drive to city center. The accommodations are excellent and the staff is amazing. Great place to stay when your in town.

The quality of the rooms and facilities was far higher than we expected as this was just an overnight stop. There was even a laundry and driers for clothing. The swimming pool was clean and very nice. There is a diner attached where breakfast was good and reasonably priced with a discount if you stay at the hotel

The hotel was very clean and right off the freeway. We went winetasting and the shuttle came right to the hotel to pick us up it was a great weekend. There is a little diner right next-door and the food was very good for diner food.

As we arrived, the outside of the door to our room was a little drab looking, but when we walked into our room, it was much nicer and very clean. We had a family room and it was awesome...it had 3 beds (two fulls in the main room and a king in the other. There was a door to close off the other bedroom so both parties could have privacy, but the bathroom was shared. It had an awesomely long, large counter (so everyone had space to put their toiletries out) and a sink. Plus there was a 2nd small counter and sink in the room with the toilet. The shower was nice (and there was no fan in the bathroom, but a window). Parking was easy (our room was at the end where there was plenty of open spaces) and they had laundry machines on property. The only complaint we had of the room is that there weren't any movies that we could find on tv...no pay-per-view or movie channels.

Nice hotel, right off hwy 46 and US 101. There are multiple nice places to eat within walking distance. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. The grounds are well maintained and lush with nice plants and trees. Water fountains throughout the grounds are a relaxing touch. The pool and jacuzzi area is a great place to relax and has a covered area if you want to get out of the sun. Park type charcoal bbq s are available if you want to grill during your stay.

The room at the hotel was very updated and clean and modern looking. The amenities were nice and convenient and the staff was friendly and helpful. The outside of the hotel does look a little outdated but the inside of the lobby and actual room was very nice.

We so enjoyed our first visit to Paso Robles and Best Western Plus Black Oak was outstanding. Not your typical Motor Lodge or Motel, but rather much like a nice hotel. Lovely accommodations, pool area and fitness area and close to everything. We were there for a concert at Vinas Robles Amphitheatre which was just 15 minutes away and the heart of downtown took us only 5 minutes. Highly recommend staying here!!!

Good location about one mile from downtown. Very clean rooms, beds were very comfortable. Hotel provided a $5 voucher to be used ar adjoining restaurant. Breakfast items were expensive, service was slow, but food was quite good.

I have always wanted to stay at this motel for the last 35 years coming to pass robles on vacation, so this trip I fulfilled my wish. My partner just loved the place. We will stay again when we travel to montrey.

Nicest room we had on this six day trip and the best value. They didn't have a free breakfast like most have these days but they had discount tickets for the diner that was located next door. The pool area also had a BBQ. There were a lot of family's there but the room was quiet. Defiantly staying there next trip through the area.

If you're in the Paso Robles area, this is a "must stay at" hotel. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. there is a complimentary breakfast at the local diner, with additional restaurants to select from. The hotel is within close proximity of the 101 Freeway, and wineries and vinyards.

The hotel was excellent in every category. From the grounds to hotel staff. All service staff were additionally knowledgeable, of the area and spoke well. Most importantly, the policy of no pets allowed was extremely impressive. My new policy now is to never stay at a Hotel where they except pets. Best western will now be my first choice.

I am a traveling Safety Service Technician. I'm on the road for over 250 days a year, all hotel stays. I almost always stay in Best Western Plus hotels. I know what I like and what to expect from Best Western Hotels. I can tell you that the Best Western Plus Black Oak, Paso Robles, is absolutely fantastic!!! The lobby is beautiful and very welcoming. The hotel rooms are amazingly beautiful!! I mean AMAZING!! You even get a bowl of top quality candy! The beds very comfortable, I slept very well indeed.

Stayed at this hotel for one night on a business trip. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The little extras provided in the room were a nice touch. The front desk staff were very welcoming and professional. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, convenient, clean rooms. Nearby restaurants offer great food. Parking lot is a bit of a squeeze for large vehicles. It's very close to the fair grounds & horse show facility so large trucks have to be parked carefully.

Last night we checked into the not so "best" western after booking through booking.com only to have the woman argue with us that we booked a smoking room with 2 queen beds. We have an 18 month old and indicated that on our reservation and by no means selected smoking. She said that was the last room and was not willing to give our money back until she miraculously found a king non smoking room, she made us pay more but left us with no option! The hotel also needs to seriously improve their plumbing, it was loud throughout the night! Not going back there again!

Hotel was convenient, clean, and friendly. It is right across the street from the fairgrounds, with restaurants easily within walking distance. The pool was nice, and they let us check in early which was a huge help. Will be back for sure.

We always enjoy staying at Black Oak; clean, close to everything and reasonable. Stay here every chance we get. WE have stayed at many hotels and this is, by far, the best. Another plus is Bubba's Bad Barbeque right around the end of the drive, excellent food, a real fun place to visit.

Air conditioning is necessary in Paso Robles this time of the year. And if it does not work, opening the windows does not help since the curtains (even when wide open) cover the window opening. The air conditioning will not say on in my room. So the manager comes in and unplugs it and then spends the next 5 minutes trying to get it to come on (seems to have no idea what he's doing) When the fan comes back on, the compressor does not fire up so it does not get cold. Then it finally does, but the whole unit goes silent again. His reply? Seems good enough to me! What? The AC won't stay on, it was not on when you came in the room. What's good enough about that? He offered no solutions other than he could call his maintenance man. He called me back later to state that the maintenance man had no solution, saying that once it gets to 67 degrees that it will turn off. Mind you, that it was not anywhere near that cold in my room, and the unit was set for 61 degrees (in a feeble attempt to get it cold). They have no other rooms and would not work on my behalf to help solve the problem by finding alternate accommodations. They said I could just leave. I am sorry but that's not hospitality and such a business does not deserve your business.

Excellent hotel stay. The room was very clean and I enjoyed the added touch of the small candies. I was impressed on how nice the rooms were since the outside décor was nothing special. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

I stayed here a year ago for a wedding and loved the hotel. On the way back from another graduation in Arizona, we stopped here on the way home and stayed again. Loved the spa, we both badly needed it.

We went to Paso Robles for a fly-in convention. I chose the Best Western as it was a perfect location and I have not been disappointed with the chain yet. Our room was upgraded so it was spacious and had a spa tub, microwave and refrigerator. The décor was fine and the bed was extremely comfortable. It is a large complex and the grounds are well cared for. It is walking distance to many eateries and short driving distances to many wineries. The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful.

The rooms were nice, but seemed dated. Maybe it was a dated taste in decor. The landscaping was very nice and the pool seemed good. It is right off the freeway, for good or bad, about a mile from downtown. It seemed pricey for what it was.

Comfortable , well located , pool and spa were very nice , ground are very nice. In walking distance to good food and drinks , trails and the historic town . Good weather ,close to the ocean , and mountains

We had a ladies trip for 5 women to Paso and this was the perfect spot - we walked to downtown - enjoyed the lovely pool and garden and the family room had 4 beds - room for us all. I would gladly stay here again it was so clean and the gardens were beautiful. Just loved Paso Robles it really is a gem or a destination and all the winery people we met were so warm and welcoming.

Business trip. If you sleep at the BW take a bit of time for a quick tour of downtown paso robles. The store Work & Western also worth a visit if you want to feel a bit of "wild west" old time. They sell amazing boots and hats. It's not a shop for tourists, it's a shop for workers...

I usually stay at Starwood Resorts but we wanted to take a leisurely 4 day trip up the coast and I needed 2 rooms (1 for my family, 1 for my parents) and there are no Starwood Resorts in this location. Upon check-in, the lady working at the Front Desk asked me if I needed soap. I thought this was weird and when I asked her, she said they charge for soap!!! I thought, "Wow, this is really a BUDGET hotel!" I told her I didn't need soap, that I had my own, which was the truth as we had just come from Santa Barbara, the Westin in LA, and the Doubletree in Brea. She also told me about the Diner next door. They give you a $5 voucher for each person staying in your room but each person has to order an entree. Example pricing of the cheapest entree was Biscuits and Gravy for $12 so we decided to pass eating there. The room was nicely updated. The building next door was undergoing renovations (remodeling), which makes you think: "Oh that's great to see improvements and that the Owners care about their property." Unfortunately what wasn't so nice was to see furniture and mattresses outside of the rooms. The washer/dryer were located outside... it did cross my mind how safe this type of set-up was and whether someone would steal my clothes from the dryer (maybe I've watched too many movies...?) It would be better if they could locate the Washer/Dryer into a locked area/room. Finally, after my kids took a shower, the water would not drain so I had to call the Front Desk. She told me there was no maintenance on duty until the morning and asked me whether I wanted to switch rooms. I have 2 kids and we were unpacked and my kids were already in their pajamas. No, I did not want to move. She said she would call the maintenance guy and see if she could figure out how to unclog the shower drain. So she arrived about 15-20 minutes later and then proceeded to pull hair from the drain which was the size of a tennis ball. It was absolutely disgusting. On top of that, she had tracked in her wet (dirty) shoes all over the bathroom floor, also disgusting. She then proceeded to apologize and told me she would make sure to let maintenance know to remove all the hair from the drains in the complex. While this is nice for future guests, it did not spare me the inconvenience. I talked to my Mom the next morning and she told me that her toilet kept running all night in her room and kept waking her up. Thank goodness we stayed here for only 1 night. We ended up staying at the Best Western in Monterey the next 2 nights and that was a very good stay... just wish I could've said that about this one. It wasn't bad (which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1) but it wasn't great and I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. I am surprised that it is rated so high on Tripadvisor.

I had a very nice stay. The hotel room was neat and clean. The noise level being close to the freeway was still quite. The staff was very helpful. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and stay here again.

This Best Western Plus is near to all attractions in the area to include a multitude of wineries and the Hearst castle on the central CA coast. The hotel was very clean although it was a little out dated. I would stay there again

The hotel staff was professional and very friendly. The hotel was clean and a great stop off Hwy. 46. Also, after you've been in the car for hours you had the capability to walk to several different great places to eat.

This is always a great place to stay when visiting Paso Robles. Particularly so on this trip because I accidentally reserved a smoking room with no cancellation (short notice) and the hotel was gracious enough to move us to a non-smoking upgrade room even though they were very full for the weekend. Any time we visit Paso Robles this is one of the first places I'll check for a room.

We stayed here on the way from LA to SF. I bid on Priceline and landed this place for $190. The location is good, right in the middle of our road trip. The hotel is simple and clean, no frills, just fine for a one night stay. No breakfast but they give $5 off at the diner next door if you go by 10am. There is also a Starbucks you can walk to.

This is located well in Paso Robles with easy access to highway. Close to go wine tasting and convenient to town however you have to drive. The rooms are nice size and beds are comfortable. They offer a discount a coffee shop on property. The property was doing some work so part of it was closed. If you book a lower room request it not to be in a corner. Very dark.

This is my favorite stop when driving to Palm Springs to visit family. I especially like the location near the junction of US 101 North and Hwy 46. It can be reached easily from Hwy 5 by going west on Hwy 46. The $5 credit for breakfast at the diner on site is really a plus.

This is the nicest Best Western I've ever stayed at. It was clean with beautiful grounds filled with colorful flowers. I especially appreciated all the little extras that you don't typically find in chain hotels. Things like reading lights on either side of bed, and nicely kept up décor, even a little bowl of candies, and bottled water free of charge. it's these little thoughtful extras make a difference. I must admit that when I complimented the front desk at our departure, I wasn't surprised to find out that a woman has owned that property for several years. Her touch was quite apparent. Also, the price was very reasonable, especially because accommodations in Paso Robles is usually much more expensive.

Large resort with 2 levels. Nicely decorated and thoughtful amenities. We were given a very large room at the back of the resort upstairs (there is an elevator). Had comfortable king bed with plenty of pillows, upholstered chair with ottoman, desk with chair, dresser, micro/frig. Plenty of lamps. Separate sink area with long counter, ceiling fan. No fan in bath but window opens. Plenty of towel bars and hooks, thick towels, mat for shower. Quiet night. Main con was the lack of consideration by other guests. The Paso area is growing quickly and that takes lots of contractors. They stay here during the week and then go home on weekends; parking lot is half full with their big trucks. They want to kick back and relax with their buddies late into the evening and then they get up early to go to the job site. (No free breakfast here.)

One of cleanest hotels I have stayed. Loved ceiling fan in vanity area! Bed was comfortable and looked new as did all the linens. Outside was nicely tended with beautiful flower beds. Easy access from road in both directions and close to everything. I did not experience hearing outside noise or neighbors - some heavy footed-ness upstairs but not enough to be bothersome.

If this property is your only option it is average. Make sure you request a non-smoking room if that is your preference as surprisingly they have smoking rooms and the smoke seemed to linger on our bed linens. Outside noise was very pronounced and you can hear people in rooms next to you.

As advertised! Very clean, nice location, and friendly staff. Hotel is very busy on weekends from March to October so it is wise to book ahead. 50's era restaurant onsite had simple fair but great/friendly service s well. Convenient for breakfast and lunch.

This place was great. We called for a last-minute reservation because we were dealing with pouring rain and Sharon (?) was super helpful and took really good care of us. We were quite frazzled after our drive and coming here was like we landed in heaven. We had a large, comfortable room with a nice big bathroom area, and a shower with good water pressure. There were lots of nice toiletries. Sharon gave us a list of places to go, coupons for wineries, etc. which we used. This is one of the nicest Best Westerns I've stayed at and was also a great value. If we're in Paso Robles again, we will be back. p.s. We didn't go to Margie's for breakfast; instead we had a coffee from the lobby with a wonderful almond raspberry croissant from nearby Panolivo -- much better!

The hotel is clean and well-maintained. There is a diner right next door where you can have free coffee and soda if you are a hotel guest. The prices are a bit high but the portions are HUGE-you can definitely share a plate. The lobby is tiny and there aren't many amenities,so I wouldn't stay here for a longer stay, but it was great for an overnight. Great value for this area.

Brought my three small kids on this trip. This BW is the best one I have ever stayed so far. We reserved for a two queen with a twin sofa bed to accommodate our family of five. I love the amenities in the room and in the lobby. In room: complimentary water. Hand sanitizing gels. Hot cocoa for the kids...etc In lobby: they have this grab and go where they have water bottles and different kind of nutritious bars w paper bags! Tea, coffee and apples (and hot cocoa) are served 24/7 in the lobby. Location: steps to McDonald, Starbucks, some kind of handcrafted pizza place and AMPM (helpful when we got in so late). Breakfast: $5 coupon per registered guest to be used in the diner next door. Free coffee w coupon before 10am. It said $5 off per entree but waitress told us we could just use the total ($5x5) toward our total. Our total after discount came out to $34. Need better planning next time. The omelette we order is good for two in my opinion. At last, we LOVE the soft water system they have. It made my skin soft and my hair clean. This is the first hotel that I encountered which has this system. I will totally recommend it to other friends and families and will make sure we come back again!

Great staff, fine rooms. Breakfast at Margie's should be skipped, even with the $5 discount. But the little touches were very nice: hard candy in the room, helpful maid service, front desk staff offering discounts for area wineries.

We only spent the night while traveling North. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The WiFi was fast and easy to connect. The beds were very comfortable and linens well done. An added bonus was the $5 voucher for each guest for breakfast in a near by coffee house.

Nice and clean and the beds were comfy. Internet was a little slow but we managed. We definately liked the heat lamps in the shower area. We were outside most of the time and it was rainy and cold coming back to the room at night.

This is a very nice hotel but it's very pricey. The rooms are great, the location for us was great, & the staff were very nice & friendly. The restaurants near by were very nice. I especially liked Margie's Diner.

The room was clean, but the only window faced the walkway where everyone can see in, so with the curtains closed it was very dark inside. Also, they give you a voucher for a discount at the diner next door, but the diner was terrible. Too expensive for what it was..but there wasn't many other budget options in the area.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They are always polite and very ready to give any assistance they can. The lobby is always neat and clean and they take care of you as soon as you walk in the door. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in Paso.

We stayed here while passing through on a road trip. The check-in experience was very nice, and we were told about the breakfast deal offered at the restaurant next door. When we arrived at our room, we were very happy with all of the features. We had candy in our room, coffee, a couch, and a well-appointed bathroom. You could tell this hotel had been remodeled to offer more amenities in the rooms. Everything was clean. We were very pleased with this hotel, and would recommend it if you are ever in Paso Robles.

This is literally the best Best Western I have ever stayed at. More like a 4 star because you get a fridge, microwave, and jacuzzi. Extremely clean! Very quiet, even though I was on the first floor and the hotel was full. $5. off breakfast and free coffee at Margies next door. Winery guide and guests leave comments about favorite wineries.

I often travel along Hwy 101 between the Bay Area and LA and have found this Best Western Plus in Paso Robles to be consistently exceptional in quality and service. They offer a large number of extra amenities - from towels outside the room to clean my car windshield to every bath product one would ever need - and the rooms are super quiet and always very clean. The beds are ultra comfortable for a great night's sleep!

I have to admit that I was hesitant to stay at a Best Western because I'm a loyal Marriott member. Unfortunately, I had to stay at the Best Western as I was traveling for business and the Marriott was too expensive for my client. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. Augustine and Jordan gave us a list of restaurants at our request and provided their recommendations. It was a very animated and fun conversation. The room was clean and nicer than I expected. It was close to the quaint town where you could walk around to various stores and restaurants. The hotel was also near eateries and there was plenty of parking. The only complaint I have is that the walls seemed thin because we could hear conversations next door and outside. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed there for a wine tour and the hotel was very comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and the restaurant next door was excellent. I would definitely plan to spend time there again next year.

Second BW hotel in two weeks and both had a TV menu that was difficult to use and only one had a list of available stations. To find a channel on the menu, one must go through the entire menu that scrolls very very slowly.

Although the cost of our stay was heightened due to an in-town event, the quality of our stay was Excellent! We really enjoyed the fitness center and the staff was kind and hospitable. The proximity of the restaurants also made our stay convenient.

we used to travel from san mateo to ventura in one day. we decided to break up the drive into 2 days and stay in paso robles to make the trip more enjoyable. this property is perfect! the staff is friendly and caring, it's a great value, could find no fault with our accommodation, and the proximity of margie's diner, and other eating places so close by is AWEsome. we would not consider staying anywhere else in paso.

I am going to remember this hotel for future road trips. I stayed here just as an overnight stop while traveling with my two small children. I reserved a room with a king size bed and was upgraded to a room with an additional sofa bed. This was a very nice room. Some Best Westerns are much better than others, I know you'll have better luck with a Best Western Plus which this hotel is. They seem to pay a lot more attention to detail. Our room had a microwave in addition to the mini fridge and a nice vanity type area above which I ended up using for food stuffs. The bathroom was split so there was a sink in the area with the toilet in addition to the outer area where the closet was. Also the bathtub was nice and deep and jetted. The room was spacious, and quiet. The only thing I can complain about is the smell of cigarettes. I noticed a woman smoking in her doorway of a neighboring room so that was probably why my room smelled like cigarettes but it was disappointing either way. This hotel does not serve a complimentary breakfast, but they share their building with an American style diner and offer coupons. We did not eat there so I couldn't recommend it but the woman at the front desk recommended it to me. Luckily though there are several places to eat that neighbor the hotel, as well as a drive through Starbucks which was perfect and much needed for me in the morning. Hotel coffee is never good. If I am ever staying in Paso Robles I will most likely stay here, and I definitely will if I am just passing through.

This hotel is very nice, staff is nice, rooms are comfy, however, I'm not sure or I believe they don't offer continental breakfast which is the only downfall. Everything else was great!!! I previously reserved a room here in May 16' on the 2nd floor and the room was nice. This reservation in Sept 16' the room was a lot nicer on the 1st floor.

Enjoyed a one night stay on a vacation trip. I think this motel has improved in the last year, and we had time to take advantage of the fitness room:stationary bike and treadmill, and the jacuzzi. Like the check-out at noon. We were given quite a few coupons for wine tasting and discount possibilities for purchasing wine. Also, a wine country map. Very helpful for future reference. The staff was hands down the friendliest I've been in contact with, probably ever.

For one of their events the folks at J Lohr booked us in for two nights at this motel. It was quiet, roomy, well-equipped - super clean, of course - and the staff was friendly and most professional. There is plenty of parking and Margie's Diner ( other eateries are also very close by) is literally on the premises. We'd stay here again when in town and recommend you do, too.

This was a very inviting, well run, clean hotel, with a friendly personable staff. The grounds and pool are were very attractive. My only complaint was motorcycle noise from other guests mostly in the morning.

Amazingly clean, quiet, lots of little surprise amenities in the room. The bed was comfy/good, not soft, not hard. A nice reclining chair in the room was a surprise. The decor of the rooms are very wine country. Staff was super friendly. The free coffee in the lobby was average. If you want better coffee, Starbucks is a minute walk. Great location to hop on and off the 101. Very close to downtown and both east and west 46 wineries. The pool area was really clean and the staff will give you pool towels with a ring of the bell by the pool window. I plan on staying again, my next visit to Paso.

The bed was very comfortable which was important with our long drive ahead. The staff was friendly. We felt very good about our overall lodging experience there. They gave us a voucher good for $5.00 off when we bought breakfast at the adjacent restaurant.
