Overall it was not a bad stay. Friendly staff and a clean room once arrival was all I asked for, and that's what I received.
A bunch of family for a wedding, assigned every other room with 14 year old soccer players in-between! Ridiculous! They're kids, loud, in and out constantly, running down the halls. And some of us were told we had been upgraded! what a joke.
A good hotel in central Oxnard. Clean, well kept up. Good front desk staff. Better than average breakfast. Quiet room. Drive up to outdoor access for rooms. Walking distance to many restaurants/shops. Parking is secure. Only downside was that my A/C unit was a bit on the noisy side but I use ear plugs so not an issue while sleeping.
We paid $212 for i night in an old hotel. The heater in the room idsold and noisy. However, the breakfast was excellent. The have everything including eggs, sausage, yoguort, and even pancakes! The hotel just isn't worth $212/night...and I'm a Diamond Member! There is nothing near the hotel...no restaurants or even an upscale place for dinner.
This place is amazing! it is so peacefull and relaxing. I love how there is so many places around and that the hotel provides laundry area, fitness room, vending and ice machine all in one place and so close to the rooms. Staff was super friendly.
My experience was ok at the beginning, it seems like it's an older hotel, but first of all the A/C was terrible, it would barely cool the room and was VERY loud. The main problem is that this has been the worst hotel experience ever as on the second night I woke up around 4am as I had a RAT crawl up on my bed! When I lit the light on, it was close to the bathroom and come to find out it came in through a hole on the wall through the faucet drainpipe on. I had the receptionist at the desk change me from room but of course I was not able to sleep the rest of the night. This an ABSOLUTELY unacceptable situation and traumatizing experience. The next day I spoke to the receptionist, and she said the manager was not there and they would not share his contact information either due to company policy, then again, I don't think a rat is included in the company policy. I would stay far away from this hotel.
The water was cold when we tried to take a shower and it only slightly got barely warm after 15 mins of turning it on. Other than that, it was a good stay. It's a good stay for short term stays but would consider finding something alittle more convenient if possible
Note - I told staff about the problems. I cannot recommend this hotel. Our toilet broke in our room. The shower head looked nice but did not work and we only got one little stream out of it. Both ice machines were out of order. Walls are thin that we heard noise and coughing during the night. Breakfast was average, at most. They had eggs and bacon (turkey bacon looked raw) and some cold items. I did not feel safe going outside without my husband. Just a big disappointment for the price we paid. It was definitely not up to Best Western Standards and this all starts with the Manager. The front desk staff was nice and apologetic but most of this was of their control.
We visited Oxnard for an airshow at Point Mugu featuring the USAF Thunderbirds and US Navy Blue Angels, so the hotel was just a place to sleep. This Best Western is VERY clean and a basic hotel room. I would have given a full 5 stars, but like many hotel rooms, this one had a funky smell upon arrival and each time we returned. This is solved by running the AC/heater. Breakfast is included and had fresh pancakes, cold cereals, muffins and toast from a local bakery. Although the neighborhood is primarily car repair and a bit sketchy, it is very quiet at night. Nothing fancy, but a clean hotel if you find yourself in Oxnard!
Didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised. Clean room, linens were nice and clean. Overnight check in person was extremely helpful. The breakfast wasn't over the top, but it was good enough to get a nice start to your morning.
Over all the hotel was clean, stayed there for 4 days, My brother left his wallets in the room and came back hour and half later and it was gone, the room has not been clean yet, the only person that went in there was maintains, as we all know there's not very many honest people in this world, we told the front (if they find it take the money as a tips we just want the wallet. first time there, don't think we would go back...
OK room but expensive for what is there...lock your car, not a good area the check in was easy but again don't go out , stay in the room get some sleep leave early. I had a flight out of LAX I would have stayed closer to airport for the price I paid for this room
Very clean room, comfortable bed. Good amenities including a swimming pool, gym and laundry facilities on site, so great as a stopping point while driving the California coast. Note sure if the location is good as we only used this as a stopover for 1 night but would definitely stay here again if travelling through Oxnard.
The area around this hotel was a little questionable. We were definitely the minority in this area, being white. The hotel staff was great, all of the ones I came into contact with during our two day stay. The room was quiet and clean. All rooms had exterior doors which made it nice for loading and unloading the luggage. The shower was great. There is an outdoor pool in a fenced in area. They have an exercise room and laundry facilities in the center of the parking area. They have a lot of television channels to choose from. The hotel is older but well maintained. There are mostly Mexican restaurants in the area and Domino's pizza across the street. Traffic is busy here. We stayed here when visiting the Channel Islands.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely clean and well maintained. The scrambled eggs and sausage were fresh and tasty. The bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet considering that the street is busy. When I return, I'll be booking a room at this motel again.
I was sure there were many upgrades and whatnot due to the higher charges. We booked this hotel as it was fairly close to the Dallas Cowboys training camp. The location seemed ok AFTER the scary drive to get there. We left there going an entirely different route though. The way we came in was dark, through an industrial area, between dark fields of what seemed to be a massive nursery (like growing plants and whatever else) and some land that was under a massive sheet of “plastic” maybe….like, what's under there? Fertilizer made with human bodies…sorry, I watch too much ID channel. Moving along, the room was “clean” but smelled old. If 2 people are staying more than one night, please ask for more towels. There is a small mini fridge. Let me repeat that, a SMALL mini fridge (but at least there is a fridge, right?). There is a gym with 3 pieces of work out equipment I believe. That is where the ice machine is and the vending machines are there as well. So, if there are people working out, you'll pass through those people to get to the area where the machines are…oh, if you want, you can wash clothes too. There was a free breakfast that consist of bagged muffins (very soft and fresh), juices, coffee, some scrambled eggs (kind of runny), bacon (a little on the skimpy side), a couple of box cereal options, one type of yogurt, granola bars and a couple of fruit options. Not bad for free breakfast I suppose. All in all, it was ok. I would have felt better about it if we did not pay over $200 a night!! REALLY? C'mon….I know, I know…inflation, pandemic, supplies, staffing issues and whatever else… but OVER $200 a night? NO way was that worth it.
This property is in an industrial area of Oxnard and does not appear safe. My husband and I drove there, luckily not late, and left to go to a different hotel. I wish we had done more research and hadn't booked this. We ended up paying for the night, too
The man at the front desk is not friendly and was very unwilling to help me and my partner. Despite my reservation I was told there were no rooms available and that he was unable to help me. I paid full price for a room I never got to sleep in.
This Best Western has been our go to place over the past four years while our daughter was attending college. At times, it has been half the rate of staying overnight in Santa Barbara. We could always rely on the room being clean, a terrific friendly and helpful staff, and a good breakfast in the morning.
Front desk people are liars also charged me 34.11 for using a towel to clean up my sons spilled mess lied about all charges over the phone please do not get scammed by these people I will be contacting Better business bureau and also having all charges disputed!
This is my second stay at this property. The hotel is very well maintained and very clean inside and out! It is well lit at night and the rooms are very quiet. It was out of my way as my corporate office is located in Santa Paula, CA. It was a great value, very clean and safe!
we wanted to be alone with kids and enjoy the pool.. The room was very clean and the staff was very nice. We went to the pool so much and there was always extra towels available and warm. My kids really enjoyed the breakfast and how nice staff was to them.. will definitely go again..We did have some issues with wifi a bit, but didn't really need it much.. so that wasn't a big issue for us..
Our family checked in and was greeted my a friendly man at the entrance. My husband and I enjoyed our King Room with kitchenette. We swam with our 2 sons in the late afternoon and slept well with comfortable pillow and air conditioning. We had a good breakfast that was served in To-Go dishes so we took breakfast to our room and enjoyed a movie before check out.
I have stayed in many Best Westerns and this one is definitely not the Best one, thus the Meh. I would give it 2 stars for the meh room, the meh breakfast and the meh facilities. We booked a King room with a sofa and kitchen. When we entered the room it smelled HORRIBLE, liked of you stayed in there too long you would get nauseous bad! I immediately went back to the front desk and they said they would send maintenance. Maintenance came and sprayed air freshener into the AC unit! That did not mask the smell, it was in everything including the bedding. It smelled like smoke and chemicals and decay, I don't even know what it was but it wasn't anything good! So we went back to the front desk and asked to move, we were told that the hotel was almost fully booked (It was about 30 minutes after check in started). We were made to wait while others came and went and finally they gave us a different much smaller King room, no sofa no kitchen and no partial refund for the lesser room. At least it did not smell. After being treated so poorly I would not stay here again, there are many other better options in Oxnard.
Not being familiar with the area we chose this hotel based entirely on the brand and on the reviews online coupled with the price. While the hotel's exterior is an older motor lodge style, the room's interior appeared to have been recently renovated. It was nice to be able to park near the room for loading/unloading but there are no elevators so make sure you request a first floor room if anyone in your party has mobility concerns. We arrived to find we had been given an upgraded room but were unable to accept the upgrade as it would require our family member with mobility concerns to climb stairs to the second floor which isn't possible. My son utilized the exercise room which is in its own building in the middle of the parking lot. He said that the lock on the bike's seat didn't work but he figured out a way to get in his workout despite it. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable though I did hear a train overnight.
On a road trip with dog.A nominal charge for the pooch. The motel room was clean. Drove up close to the room., so easy to unload the car. Usual breakfast, served by employee due to COVID restrictions. A good choice for a roadtrip stop off.
I would highly recommend this property for your future stay. It is safe, secure, quiet and clean! The price is ok. The staff is very polite and helpful. I had stayed at another major hotel chain and I was very disappointed by how dirty and noisy the hotel was. Then I decided to change hotels and I wound up here at Best Western! I was very impressed by how clean inside and out the property was! When I travel for business in the future I plan on booking my stay at this property. Thank you for your efforts to make my stay pleasureable.
Location and service, especially the breakfast, were excellent. CVS is just in front of the hotel, gas station and different restaurants are nearby. Varied options for breakfast and conveniently packed in a grab and go bag plus breakfast server was cheerful, quick and fluent in English. Except for the small pillows and poor internet connectivity, our stay was almost perfect.
Decor of the property was very nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and kind. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was delicious and would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here if on the area! Would also definitely stay here again!
I never knew this place existed before this trip. I always look for a place to stay as I drive north from SoCal, a place where I can spend a night after my day in the LA Basin so that I can begin my longer leg the next morning up to the Bay Area. I never tried Oxnard before. I will in the future. Great value. Nice facility. Nice people.
Booked 6 rooms (8/20) & 5 rooms (8/21) on 8/12 and got confirmation emails on the same day, verbally asked them to cleaning the room on 3pm. Got all " yes, done" from the customer service since " the system is down" and they can only doing booking by phone & email. But be told that they didn't have 5 rooms for our tired staff when they arrived on 8/21.And the FD were so "BUSY" to rearrange the rooms.
The room itself was fine but the king size bed came with two tiny pillows. When we asked for extras we were told they would only give us one. Nuts. When we came back after being out the next day we discovered there of been no room cleaning service. When I inquired as to why not, I was told that we had to request that. Furthermore I was informed that if I wanted fresh towels I would have to meet someone at the back door and get them myself. Ridiculous. $150/night doesn't buy much these days, but we expected more from Best Western.
I've always stayed at best westerns anytime I go on a trip. This was the worst experience. We didn't have any hot water throughout our two night stay. We had to shower in freezing cold water each night. When I called the front desk on the first night, a man rudely answered and said “yeah I know. I heard we won't have any until the morning.” That was it. Then we only had two tiny pillows for a king size bed. When I asked him for more pillows, the same man said “I only have one left.” I asked if I can take it and he said “you'll have to come down and get it.” So rude. We called again the next night because we still didn't have any hot water and they told us that we could either switch rooms entirely or shower in another room, then go back to our room. We didn't want to move all of our stuff at 10pm on our last night, and the other option sounded sketchy, so we had to shower again in cold water. Awful stay, awful customer service. I will never stay here again.
They are the worst experience I've had at a hotel by far they only take card and on top of the room charge they charge 100 deposit so I didn't get my deposit because of a stained towel that was already stained but they charged my card another 300 after checkout !!!!!! With no consent to charge my card ! Now I see why they only allow card I ended up paying over 500 for one night definitely the worst part of my trip .
I love the consistency of Best Western - the experience in one location is similar to an experience in a different location. They clearly follow COVID guidelines, the employees are friendly, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I was happy with my experience and I look for Best Western's when I travel
Bed was worn and shot out needed to be replaced. Staff could have been more accommodating. The room in general was adequate. Clean. But a very cold feel to the experience. Not angry but dissatisfied. Improvement is definitely needed. Would not recommend.
We stayed here while visiting family in Port Hueneme. We usually stay at the Beat Western in Camarillo, and we decide to change it up this time. It's on a busy street, right off the 101 in an older part of Oxnard, so at first I was worried about noise, but it wasn't a problem at all. The room was very clean and comfortable. I appreciated the floors are a wood laminate instead of carpet. The rooms have a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The only thing I recommend is getting more pillows and blankets if you need them. There aren't extras located in the room as typical hotels do.
Reserved a kitchenette online and paid for it and was told online on my reservation i could checkin at 10 and when i got there they were very rude and said i cant check in till 3. I told them i came 4 hours away for my grandpas funeral which was 6 hours away from the time i got there and they didnt care. My family and i had to wait 5 hours just to get into the room.
We arrived 30 min early to try to start the checkin process, was told our king suite wasn't ready to wait till 3, went back at 3 was told they didn't know when our room would be ready. Had to settle for a double queen & paid same price as king suite.
Very clean cannot use up all of the coop and 19 the grab bag some good could use my pillows in the room when they will be back to normal Best Western keep the room clean! thank youWhat alarm or friends to stay at a best Western if they ask me please I've already recommended like three couples I like the bed with fluffy but it does best Western it was not enough pillows other ones I stayed at the head late six pillows and extra blankets this one did not have a
This hotel is clean and the grounds are well maintained. They did a nice job with services even during the COVID 19 pandemic. It is conveniently located and even though it sits on a busy street it is quiet and private.
The manager noon was very disrespectful and rude to me. The hotel was dirty, there was a big hole inside the wall that I cannot see through. The manager was yelling at me over the phone. He then talked to customer service after I had spoken with them and lied and said I agreed to pay.
We were travelling north to comply with the government requirements to go home and stay there during the pandemic. While we weren't looking for luxury, just a decent place to sleep before another long day on the road. How bad could this be? It's a Best Western. We expected no breakfast and no services, no pool etc. However, we didn't expect full summer facilities and occupancy prices. Over $300 Canadian . $60 alone for dog fees. the most we have ever had to pay. for two beds in a basement for one night. This is a basic motel. No views in a semi industrial unattractive area. You'd think they would not be looking to gouge at a time when people are supposed to be pulling together. It was quiet when we were there as there were maybe 3 other rooms occupied. We felt ripped off and will never return.
The location was not great BUT the hotel was a very well cared for establishment. Our room was quiet and comfy. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The exercise area is great! Pool area very nice...towels and good lounge furniture. Employees taking effort to make the place nice Breakfast was the typical hotel free breakfast. Sure wish someone would do something good.
2 things that make a hotel comfortable for my husband are a tall shower (he is six feet tall) and a bed that is not squishy (he's 200+ lbs.). Both of these were perfect with the King size bed. Breakfast was good with some warm options.
Customer service goes a LOOOONG way. I was hesitant to stay here at first because I used to live in Oxnard... however, they've upgraded their hotel and their staff. The staff was great. From check-in, to maids, to maintenance, to check-out... all A-1. Will be staying here whenever I come back to visit Oxnard.
The room was very high priced for this hotel. This hotel was over $173.00 with tax. the room just did not merit that high of a price. The room was not that nice. The refrigerator was very small. Although the t.v. had a good size screen to it.
Had a great experience and services was wonderful! Definitely coming back asap! We loved all the amenities and all how close it is to a lot of things such as the beach. Also loved how the pool had disability services that could be provided for those with disabilities. Overall our favorite hotel so far.
Our family alwayss stays at this Best Western when we take our daughter to UCSB. It's more reasonably priced than Santa Barbara, the staff is very friendly and professional and the room is clean and quiet. Also, really appreciate the free breakfast which has a good selection. Thank you!
Stayed here one night and it was just a basic room. Room was dark even with window open. AC made to much noise. Bed was ok. Carpets must be dirty because when I took a shower , dirty was coming off of my feet. The breakfast was just " ok ", not much to speak of. All employees we saw were nice and friendly. If in the area again ..... would try another spot.
Great hotel..nice rooms..laundromat available..nice pool..decent breakfast...very quiet area. Only problem was they charged me a higher price than I booked with. Email has been sent with no reply yet.
Whenever possible we stay at the Best Western. We have tried a wide variety of hotels from the Omni in Manhattan to the Red Roof Inn in San Francisco. The BW beds are very comfortable, the inns are clean and well maintained and the employees are friendly and very helpful. The BW still includes the courtesy of offering smoking rooms when most hotels treat smokers as piranhas of society instead of the loyal customers we are.
I am staying at the Best Western in Oxnard and it's been a great experience. First and foremost I had a great night sleep last night. Great white noise from the AC and a super-comfortable bed!!! Next when you close the curtains this room is really dark. I am trying to stay on East Coast time so I go to bed early out here. My room was super dark, even though the sun was still high in the sky. This morning it's still dark in here with the curtains closed!! I love that!!! The bathroom is big and nice and there were plenty of hangers for my clothes and a great work desk area with a chair that is plenty high!!! (I hate low seated chairs). Nice big TV, plenty of parking, a very nice pool and the fitness room is just fine. You have to pick up bars to use in the weight room but that was easy. There are a lot of outlets in the room, plenty for all of my devices and the people who work here are also very nice. Great price and super location!!! I will stay here again!!!! The floor kind of tracks a black residue from the parking lot. My feet were black on the bottoms when I showered. It came right off but that had to be the source of the black feet????
This property was reasonably priced. The property was clean and inviting and the staff, prompt and helpful. We felt safe and comfortable at this location. The mattress was firm and comfortable - no sagging or dipping in the middle (an immediate 5-stars!)
We stayed overnight. The man who checked us in was friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and had all the extras - mini fridge, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. The bed was firm and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, lots of choices, and there was plenty of everything. The man at the desk who checked us out was also very friendly, and checked us out quickly. Overall a great experience.
Went overnight fishing out of Ventura, the drive home at night in heavy traffic is usually long (100 miles) and frustrating. This time I decided to spend the night after fishing at the Best Western in Oxnard. The hotel was clean, well furnished and comfortable. After a night of restful sleep and good hot breakfast I made a leisurely drive home. There was a good ice machine and I was able to repack my catch (fish) before heading home.
My husband and I were travelling up the Pacific Coast via train and one of our stops was 3 days in Oxnard. Heard the beaches (Oxnard Shores) were amazing and they weren't kidding! Unless you are an avid walker, you will need to drive there from this hotel. As for the rest, everything is walkable. Food, wine tasting, etc. Our room was clean, spacious with a lovely included breakfast. The pool felt cool and unheated but the hot tub was great after all day on the go! My only complaint was that the walls were thin and we could hear our neighbors but we are good sleepers so it wasn't a big deal for us. We enjoyed our stay.
We staid at this hotel before traveling to Channel Islands National Park. It was 20min from the harbor and was a great value. We always stay at Best Westerns because they are affordable, clean, and offer amenities for free that most hotels charge for.
The hotel is pretty close to the navy base where our friends live, so very convenient. The hotel staff is very friendly, the breakfast is pretty good, and the room is very comfortable and very clean! I highly recommend!
Good hotel, nice accomodations. When arriving a friendly employee checked us in very quickly, staff was very kind an helpfull. I would highly remmond this place. The only sad part is that the neighbourhood has aged, their even was a security guard at El Pollo Loco.
Always great staff , in the middle of everything you may need or want. Clean rooms and hot good breakfast. Third time staying in Oxnard same hotel and never disappointing. Quite area of town and clean pool and grounds area.
Beautiful location! When I arrived I was surprised by how nice the location was. It looks brand new and very welcoming. The front desk agent was very helpful. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast and the other amenities provided.
Room was a great size with a desk and lounge chair and king bed. Very friendly staff. Comfy bed & pillows. Good shower. Great value for the price of the room. Not very soundproof with people walking outside the room. The voices echo in the archway outside the ground floor rooms.
Check-in process was quick! Front desk clerk was kind & helpful. Room inspection is rated overall clean & tidy. Experience throughout the night was quiet, during the day quiet except the construction outside. But stay was amazing! Thank you
Prior to checking in, I reviewed the listed prices and found that the AAA rate was $126. When I entered the lobby I asked the man at reception if I could have the promo rate or better if possible. He was busy then said “$166” I asked him if he could look again. He rudely told me to hold on and be quiet so he could look. Still $166. I asked about the $126 AAA rate. He said that was his rate, “Do you want it or not “? Having just driven 12 hours, I took it. He never told me there was breakfast included. The next morning we went to breakfast then later discovered there was breakfast at the hotel. I complained to the staf at the desk. Said he would inform management and to expect a call. Three days later, no call.
Hotel has just completed refurbishment, GREAT JOB BEST WESTERN! Rooms were comfy with 4k tv, comfortable king size beds plus a nice room layout. Would certainly stay again! The reason I gave location a 3 is because the hotel is in an area undergoing revitalization. Marshall
I cannot rate this Best Western highly enough, the property is clean and tidy, with well maintained grounds and nicely decorated and fitted rooms. Our first impression was of the lovely bright and stylish lobby/ breakfast area backed up by the nicest of reception staff by the name of Jennifer. She was excellent and an asset to the hotel, she gave us all the information we could possibly need and after around an hour she gave us a courtesy call to ensure we were happy with our room and we had all we needed. Terrific service that goes a long way in my book. The included breakfast was a step up to the usual offerings with a hot option, pancakes, fresh fruit and cookies every day and the gazebo which held the laundry facilities and gym equipment was pristine. We enjoyed a great 5 days here and would return in a heartbeat
BEST WESTERN hotels and inns have long been our choice for accommodations when traveling for business or pleasure, Best Western Oxnard Inn ranks as one of three best properties we have stayed at. The entire property was clean, well-maintained, and inviting. The room was exceptionally well-decorated with amenities galore; including an absolutely astounding number of wall plugs and ethernet ports - the only thing we found to be lacking were USB-charging ports, but one can't have everything. The staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. The location is convenient. Highly recommend this property if you are staying in Oxnard.
Considering this is a best Western Hotel, it is the cleanest of all best westerns I have visited. Staff is very nice and grounds are kept immaculate. Workout room decent as well. Breakfast is included and is mediocre for a continental breakfast.
This Best Western keeps the grounds, rooms and breakfast area very clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. The location was easy to find from the freeway. They have nice breakfast included in the room rate, several hot items are available along with bread, pastry's and fruit. Coffee, tea and juice.
VERY CLEAN, newly renovated, BIG screen TV, hot yummy breakfast, great black out curtains, HOT tub clean -hot-& good supply of pool towels, thick walls cant hear neighbors, team members very fun and polite. DONT FORGET TO TIP YOUR HOUSEKEEPERS. the ladies did a amazing job
We stayed for one night while traveling through the area. I noticed right away when we walked in that the room had a musty smell. I'm not sure if it was because it had been raining so much. The bathroom was separated from the toilet and shower so it made it easy for 2 people to get ready at once. There was a microwave, small refrigerator and coffee pot in the room, however the coffee was terrible (tasted bitter). I don't think I would stay here unless there wasn't anither hotel available in the same price range since it was moderately priced.
Every one I encountered was warm and friendly. The grounds are very nice and clean. Laundry/ Exercise area was always clean. Ice machine was always full and running. Rooms were great. Housekeeping very accommodating.
Great upgraded hotel. Good breakfast. Good location. Nice rooms. They have pancake making machine. Nice upgraded booth style furniture in lobby area where breakfast is served. Comfortable rooms. Nice people.
We were evacuated from our home during the Woolsey Fire and the Best Western Oxnard Inn was our haven. Excellent accommodations and amenities. Excellent service. Clean, quiet, comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel.
My step son was getting married and 3 of us needed rooms. My husband went online and secured 2 rooms for us & my mother inlaw. He requested a lower level room since she has great difficulty walking. When he called the day of check in he was told that was not available. And the hotel has no elavator. He asked that they do what they could. When we checked in we had the best rooms! Adjoining rooms to her handicap accessible room which she appreciated. She loved her bathroom & shower. Our room had a kitchen! Like stove & everything! My sister inlaw stayed here too. We all loved the great morning breakfast. Didn't get to use pool or work out room. But next time, and there will be a next time, we will. Love this hotel. Super clean & friendly. In the area, stay here!
this is not a Best Western Plus-just a Best Western, but the room was as big as any I've been in. the room was large, clean, comfortable and Quiet. The laundry facilities were nice, inside the fitness center. the staff is extremely friendly. Over all, I would rate this as one of the best values of our vacation. The breakfast was also very good.
I'm a best western member, so I try and stay there whenever possible. Nice, clean place with great staff. Continental breakfast as usual, the eggs were powdered and terrible. Everything else was aok. Bed pretty good but room had everything needed from for short or long stay (microwave and mini refrigerator).
Called three hotels for this past weekend in Oxnard and money wise Best Western fit the bill. We've stayed in several other hotels in the area but this hotel was by far the quietest. Walked in the room to a king size bed, small table with two chairs and a small sofa. It also had an small kitchenette. Slept like a rock -loved the mattress as I usually have a hard time falling asleep. Their breakfast is from 6 to 9 am. Wished they would change til 10am. Will be staying here next time we're in the area.
Kitnet room is very small for 2 beds and does not fit 4 people. The breakfast is simpler than other BestWestern hotels. The beds are to soft. There is a construction working next door, be careful if you go during the week, it can be noisy.
In the area for a wedding and as a BW Platinum member I always look for a Best Western property. This was one of the finest Best Western's I've stayed at.Clean, quiet and comfortable. Pool area was immaculate and clean. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was great. Highly recommend this hotel
Nice, older budget hotel. Well maintained, although A/C was straining on a hot day. Breakfast is fine. Location is somewhat sketchy, but ok if coming or going by train. Staff is friendly, professional and helpful. Curious as to lack of body lotion. Otherwise solid, basic, budget friendly place to stay.
Clean hotel and was quiet. Had a plugged toilet and it was promptly fixed. Forgot a piece of luggage and they called me right away to let me know. For the hotel to be on a very busy street the hotel was quiet.
Beds were comfortable but a bit high off the floor. A stool might be handy. The pool and hot tub were clean and fun. They welcomed our dog and we had no problems with him. Their breakfast was very good and kept well supplied.
We spent 4 nights on a get-away. The room was spacious, clean, quiet. The location was great - near junctions to the close major highways. Just blocks from places to eat. Easy in and out and parking. Yes, I'd stay there again, and I'd take friends there.
Hotel is nice. Recently remodeled and/or painted. Rooms have been updated since last year. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were extremely watery. Like biting into a soaked sponge. Not good. The rest of the breakfast was good.
For our needs this was nice, easy to find place. Our room, though not extravagant by any means, was big enough, clean, and well kept. The room had a nice, comfortable king size bed, standard bathroom, a nice big flat screen TV with full cable coverage, and strong, reliable Wi-Fi service. Also a small desk with AC outlet and ethernet port. A small microwave and refrigerator were also in the room, but we didn't need them, so I can't comment other to say they were there. Also available are a pool and hot tub, an equipped exercise room, and a small business center with computer and printer located in the lobby. It was nice to be staying in a place that appeared to be well-maintained by a happy staff, unlike some places we have stayed in the last couple of years. Breakfast is not lavish, but wholesome with pancakes, eggs and sausage, cereals, fresh fruit, assorted breads, yogurts, juices, and coffee available.
We booked 2 king rooms for 2 nights. We were happy with both rooms. We appreciated the fact that there was a chair and ottoman in the room for reading or watching tv. For TV lovers, the screen was a great size. Everything we needed was in working order. Most of all we appreciated the fact that we didn't have to stay in a room where pets had been. The breakfast was good, and where appropriate, was hot. My one request would be to have coffee in the lobby hot & available during the day & evening. I really don't like using the in-room coffee makers for sanitary reasons, but like grabbing a cup of coffee at times other than breakfast.
The room was nice with a large TV a small refrigerator and microwave. Laminate floors and a nice desk/work table. The bed was NOT comfortable and was too frim for my taste. Breakfast was nice. Bacon too thin for my taste but my husband loved it. Scrambled eggs, fruit and cereal plus make your own pancakes. Not a pancake person but others were enjoying. All in all not a bad place to stay if you are visiting with family. A little far off the freeway
I would recommend this motel which is obviously new and well-maintained. A bit off highway 101, but well worth the short time to travel to it. The BW web site did not forward my requests for parking for our RV and for a room with a view of the RV. However, the person checking us in went out of the way to find what we needed. He was very kind and considerate.
Nice clean rooms. Nice decor in the rooms. Inside and out looks updated. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was typical continental breakfast with pancake maker. Not the best price but good for the area. It has a pool and hot tub. We didn't try the hot tub. To cool for a pool swim.
Good clean rooms. Friendly Staff. Only downside is the train that toots its horn in the middle of the night. The hotel is located near a busy intersection and is centrally located in oxnard ca. Price is a bit high for location, but rooms are clean.
No elevator and the hotel is spread out if you don't want to do much walking. Breakfast seating is inconvenient, especially when it is filled with workman, the day we were there. Maybe good for younger age, but really not up to the price you pay for a room. Although the room was clean, but very dark.
We were placed in this hotel d/t wildfire evacuations in California. Within the first 2r hours there, there was a transformer that blew andnpit the palm trees around the property on fire. Fortunately, there were firefighters staying at the hotel and they got the fire out before the city firefighters arrived. We were evacuated for several hours. We spent another few days there; but, we had frequent power and phone outages. The hallway lights did not come on at night and I didn't feel safe there.
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was lovely. The room was very clean and despite the fact it was a smoking room (I'm a smoker) it didn't smell like stale smoke. The continental breakfast was amazing. It had the usual fair plus ,eggs, bacon, and pancakes that came out of a super cool gadget. We did use the laundry facility which was also very clean. The bed was super comfy but the pillows were small and there weren't very .any for a king bed. The bathroom though clean was a smidge on the small side but the huge vanity made up for it in my mind. If I ever find myself in Oxnard again I will stay there.
I did not want to drive so far from the highway nor into an urban hub noisy and partying construction worker patrons but had booked this while on a road trip and did not realize the location was what it is. We regret that we did not find lodging closer to Pismo Beach or before Oxnard. If one were on a business trip or into urban centers this would be the place for you. Did not like how spread out this is and did not even go to the gym as it required a trek across the property parking lots. This place would have been great twer it on the coast with the beach rather than major busy 4 lane streets-freeways around it.
The odor was apparent before we opened the door and only got worse. When we told them about it they said we should have told them as soon as we entered. There was a throw rug by the bed that looked so dirty I would not put my bare feet on it. We had reserved the room telling them we had a small dog and after we checked in got a call from the desk practically accusing us of not telling them. My husband signed for the dog at check in!
We checked in at 2:30 thanksgiving morning to begin our four night stay. We went to the window to check in which was totally fine and expected considering the later hour. We didn't have to wait for anyone to check us in at all. Here was someone right there. Our room was very clean. It was exactly what I'd hoped for considering we wouldn't spend a lot of time there, but enough to where if it was bad we would've left. The staff was very pleasant. I have zero complaints. I will 100% stay here next time we come. Take any negative reviews with a grain of salt. This place is perfect for the $ spent.
Oxnard is in the middle of a farm area. On one side of the hotel is a field but on the other side is a busy intersection and you can walk to a great Mexican restaurant "Cabo.." just .1 mile from the hotel. This is not a hotel you would stay for several days , but ok for overnight . The rooms are clean and one cannot really the traffic outside .
I returned to this location because of good rates, great service, & clean/comfortable rooms. I frequently travel as a major part of my job and consistently enjoy Best Western's awards program and locations. I'll be back!
My stay at the Best Western Oxnard Inn was very nice. The entire staff was very pleasant. Room was nice and I loved the shower. There was a microwave, coffee maker and a refrigerator in my room which was quite convenient.
I Renee Brown had a reservation for September 29th 2017 for the Best Western in Oxnard I called head for my check in and they said they had no availability I was put on hold and I said I have a reservation that I made two weeks ago so I called Best Western corporate and for some reason they did that customer service she did the same thing called the hotel and said there was no rooms and I said I had a reservation it took her over 30 minutes to try to find me a hotel and still nothing I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and I just can't understand why this has happened so I am saying I would not be staying at the Best Western in Oxnard no more
This stay was one of the worst I've had it was loud and the whole room was shaking I've never experienced a stay like this at best western poor rude staff Ryan was nice and helpful that's about it the Managers are also rude and unhelpful very disconcerning to guest
I stayed for one nite, i forgot a pair of cow girl boots that have a sentimental value to me. I called about 2 hours after i left and was on my way home up northern california. Ryan answered and i explained my situation and he suggested i call back tomorrow to check in because Room cleaning service had gone home for the day. So i did, and Ken followed up with my situation and my boots were recovered and i followed the simple steps they asked and one week later ihave my boots and an incredible admiration towards the staff at this Hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
As Best Western's go this one is at right or just below average. The breakfast falls BELOW the normal standard at Best Western's. I would stay again as it is close to other amenities. I submitted my survey with issues outlined so maybe they will be addressed by the corporation.
I had nothing but a bad experience with this stay which I usually don´t experience at a Best Western Hotel. I have booked a Suite - King. I was given a standard 2 bed room. Not even a suite. When I got back to the reception I was told, sorry someone should have contacted you but the original quote is not correct so we had to put you in a room that is equivalent to what your paying! Imagine my surprise with an answer like that. Needless to say noone contacted me prior to my stay about this. After a 15 hour journey I had no stamina left to argue further as at that point I have asked for alternatives which I was not given. As an Elite member I´m aware of getting a welcome/thank you package nor was I offered the addl. rewards points. We had several nights in other BW branches after this unpleasant experience that thankfully restored my faith in the BW chain. Overall the rooms were clean and well equipped which was according Best Western standards. Unfortunatly that night we did not get a good nights sleep as it was very noisy. I´m afraid to say but this branch is not worth recommending to anyone.
We stayed here for 3 nights. It shows it's age a little bit but the rooms were very clean and the furniture was probably only a year old. Architecture was rather dated however. Staff was attentive and helpful and the breakfast was ok
The best hotel to stay at while visiting Oxnard, CA. This hotel is very clean, the staff is very nice and helpful, there is a swimming pool and jacuzzi onsite as well as a laundry room with washers and dryers for packing light. The property is adjacent to a small convenience store in case you want to pick something up. I love this place.
Booked a Suit 6 months in advance. Booking was very clear with room details and pictures of the room. Arrive to check-in and I am told that the suit that I had reserved is not available. Was given the runaround my multiple staff including multiple lies.. manager never did get back to me in any way to address the issue.. Hotel management refused to offer any restitution through the company I booked with. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS...
Probably the best price and quality this close to the beach. We drove over to the bay and it only took about 10 minutes. The area isn't so great but who cares, your not going to walk to the beach and the restaurants anyway.
On our mother/daughter trip between San Diego and San Francisco, we spent two nights in this great hotel. Very clean inside and out, Clean and convenient laundry facility was much needed. Wonderful variety of items on there free breakfast bar. Friendly, courteous staff was there to assist us throughout our stay. If you're going to be in the area, check this one out.l
What a pleasure staying at this hotel. This was a last minute booking for business, and I am sure glad I stayed here!! The room was absolutely beautiful, clean, well appointed with all that was needed. The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful answering questions about things to do in the city, and about the many amenities of the hotel. I will definitely be back!
We only got to stay here one night as we were passing through the area. We had a junior suite and boy was it super nice! Large room, large bathroom, kitchenette, soft beds and super clean. All of the staff we came in contact with was super friendly! Breakfast area nice and lots of selections. We even did laundry and it was very reasonable to do it. Grounds were nice as well. We wish we could have spent our whole vacation in this hotel! If you're looking for a great place to stay, this is it!
I really enjoyed the stay quality of the room was good very good and the service by the staff was very good I always try to stay in best western when I can. I appreciate the attention of the staff and it was easy to check in and easy to check out
We had a very peaceful stay. There was plenty parking spaces. The dining room was well stocked and the food was more than expected. The attendant was the to help and she kept it clean. Other than the wet and dingy towel situation we had a very pleasant stay.
Nice Rooms. Good Beds. Friendly Staff. Close to Shopping. Great Internet. Close to restaurants. There is a Mexican food resturant close by called the Cabo Seafood Grill and Cantina. Highly Recommended by the staff. It was delicious. The outdoor shopping close by is called The Collection at River Park. Very enjoyable shopping.
Very disappointed with this hotel that stated online that it had been recently rennovated. The floor was filthy and when we told the associate on duty when we check out, he was defensive and sullen and told us that it was a maintenance issue that they floor needed to be polished?? the floor is wood laminate. It needed soap and water, thats all. Terrible customer service. Plus we received no maid service or fresh towels upon being out all day and arriving late at night to an uncleaned room.
We had suite 3 for two nights. It had two queen beds a seating area with sofa, a small kitchenette area with coffee maker and fridge. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and contained a bath with shower. Everything was clean and tidy and the beds were so comfortable. We heard no noise from other guests but you can hear a bit of traffic, which isn't surprising because the hotel is metres from a busy junction. This did not affect our stay as some of our previous stop overs had very noisy guests well into the night, this was a nice peaceful Hotel. The pool was lovely, very clean and the hot tub was so warm and relaxing. Sun beds are provided and also towels are available by the entrance. We really did enjoy the breakfast, lots of lovely fresh produce and pastries. It also had a fresh pancake making machine- marvellous!!! Staff were always around cleaning and replenishing the food, especially the bacon and scrambled eggs. We loved staying here and would recommend this Hotel to others.
If you get a good deal to stay here then you should go for it, but there are nicer and roomier offerings in the area for the same price. The immediate area is very busy and not exactly the best neighborhood to go for a walk in at night. The location is also quite a distance from the beach. Rooms and pool are nice. The breakfast and lobby are remodeled.
I was very satisfied with this Best Western. I like the cleanliness of my room which is very important to me. The bed was comfortable. I know this Best Western in this location is new, so I hope they keep it up.
The Oxnard Best Western was one of my best experiences with booking a hotel! The facility offered an amazing continental breakfast, that was the perfect way to start off each morning! The staff was always friendly and willing to help in any way possible. The facility is highly taken care of and has an overall excellent appearance. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub in the afternoons! I would highly recommend staying in the facility!
Great room (suite 3) lovely and quiet compared to our previous places. Comfy bed, lovely bathroom. Water in fridge upon arrival. Breakfast was fab - you could even make your own waffles! Always fresh food and a hot option too. Pool is clean and sunny, we used it all the time we were there. It is situated by a busy junction but we couldn't hear loud traffic at night. Sometimes a train passes by and you can definitely hear that!! But only twice in three days. Overall I would stay here again, lovely place.
There have been many improvements and upgrades to this Hotel and location. I was impressed with the changes made so far and the appearance outside as well as inside was very good so far. I felt comfortable all around and would stay there again without question.
A very decent location in Oxnard with easy access, pool, breakfast, and parking. I only stayed a night but it was quite and safe. I would recommend this location for business travelers needing great internet access and comfort. For families I also would recommend as it has a pool to soak and enjoy
Friend booked it online - should have checked reviews!! Horrible. Hacking coughing through paper-thin walls at all hours, loud carrying on by men outside our doors at night. Called front desk, "manager" either inept or did not care. In retrospect, Various areas were constantly roped off, so it was difficult to park. Breakfast is nasty so we walked to a pretty decent Starbucks nearby. Room was spotless - they must pour buckets of bleach on everything after each vacancy. Carpet was absolutely filthy, though. We did not set our bags on the floor at all. This was my first visit to a Best Western hotel, and it will be my last. "hot tub" and pool were never open or available. Don't care - glad we did not set foot in there.
We stayed at the Best Western Oxnard on the way to Malibu. While driving to the hotel we became concerned about the area that looked industrial and in a bad part of town. Many businesses had bars on their windows and there were some shady characters outside of the businesses. The outside of the hotel was fair looking. There were also some shady characters hanging out at the hotel. The room was dingy, dark and the floor was so dirty my kids feet were black after showering and walking on it. The sewer backed up into our sink and tub. We reported this to the front desk who said they would have maintenance check into it. The day we checked out there was a foul odor outside that was overwhelming. The breakfast was pretty good and the area for breakfast was large and well kept. I was charged a $50 fee for incidentals and it has not yet been credited to my account. I specifically inquired about this fee and was informed by the front desk that they release the charge and my bank may take a few days to credit my account. However every other hotel we stayed at on our 17 day road trip credited it back the day we checked out. Overall this was not a good place to stay especially for the prices they are charging. I paid $135.00 for a dirty room in a bad area with an apparent plumbing/sewage issue.
Spent one night here so my family could watch the fireworks at the Channel Island Shores Harbor. We all watched the fireworks go off at 9pm. It was nice because you could see the other harbor fireworks and then they came and set off fireworks off for us. It was a cool show.
Appreciate the pet friendly policy. The train passing by was not to bad only had one during my 2 day stay. It was a little bit further south from were I was going but I didn't have a dogsitter so if this happens again I'll will stay here again
Very nice hotel, clean and well maintained room, no issue found at all. Complimentary breakfast. Good location, close to beach. Fitness centre is located in very cute gazebo. Room is fair size. Hotel is close to shopping.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was included and had a selection of hot food as well as cereals etc. It was not very far by car to some good restaurants but a little further to the harbour area. Also quiet.
BW Oxnard is a pleasant, comfortable place to stay while in downtown Oxnard, Great hot tub. Delicious breakfast. Professional, friendly staff. The hotel's proximity to railroad tracks might put some potential guests off, but we have stay here a number of times, and location has never been a problem. Great mattress.
Great experience at this hotel! It. was comfortable and clean. The front desk attendees were noce and helpful. I would definitely recommend to to friend n family to stay here! Great breakfast also!!!!!
Really great place to stay! The rooms were really clean and nice. Everyone at the hotel was helpful, had free parking, free breakfast which was awesome because another hotel we stayed at charged us 20 a night to park. Very clean on the outside, seemed like they took pride in the hotel. Loved the look of the hotel as well.
We were staying at the hotel for softball tournaments in the city. We were made to feel very comfortable and pampered by the staff Thanks Best Western Oxnard The next time we have a chance we'll stay there again
While not in a particularly trendy or attractive part of town, the accommodations were excellent for the price. The rooms were pristine and the pool, lobby, laundry room and vending machines were all very clean and pleasant.
I was very please with this hotel, it met all of my needs. I was also please to find the hotel very clean and in perfect repair. The fitness center and laundry facilities were pleasing as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We came down here to attend the Strawberry Festival. Great location, not far from the festival. Hotel is quiet and very clean. Our room was on the bottom floor. Parking is free here. The free breakfast in the morning wasn't that bad with fresh hot bacon or sausage, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, pastries, bread, oatmeal and various juices and coffee. Next time we're back here, we'll stay here again!
I had a prepaid reservation with this hotel. I was trying to check in and the hotel was stalling me. At the last minute the manager told me he spoke with the General Manager and my reservation was just cancelled. I asked why and the manager replied, "We can't tell you." Hotels.com told me they were also told by Best Western that they can't tell them why my prepaid reservation was cancelled at the last minute. I called Best Western the day before to check on my reservation and was told everything is fine. When I arrived at the hotel the front desk guy Jaime was very unhelpful and unfriendly. I was left waiting in the lobby with all my luggage. At the last minute I was told my reservation has been cancelled and the hotel refused to give me a reason. I was a guest at Best Western last January and I didn't give the hotel a hard time. I even tipped housecleaning daily. Best Western in Oxnard is the most unprofessional, deceiving, crooked hotel I have ever dealt with. Nobody deserves to have their prepaid hotel reservation literally cancelled at the last minute. This hotel is the worst hotel ever. They caused me a lot of mental distress, I had a guest flying in from another country who was expecting to meet me at Best Western when I was given last minute news that the hotel cancelled my reservation. They left my out of country guest and I up a creek without a paddle. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to deal with a legitimate hotel and wants to be treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve. I wouldn't recommend Best Western in Oxnard, CA to my worst enemy.
Clean..very friendly staff. Quiet. Breakfast is good. Conveniently located and easy to get to. Parking is great. Recently remodeled lobby is nice. My children wanted extra pillows and staff was very kind and accommodating. Jyst a nice place to stay!!!
The room was comfortable for a disabled person. I was able to shower in a tub with the help of the bars to support me. Beakfast of eggs, bacon, toast was good.. . It is on a main street close to 101 SO WE WILL TRAVEL BY CAR MEMORIAL WEEKEND.
Very nice hotel. Friendly efficient staff. Breakfast the usual B/W good selection and kept well stocked. Close to Amtrak station but not quite close to walk. Cab fare is $12.00 plus tip each way. A shuttle service would be a nice addition.
The staff was great. Very courteous and we did not have any problems on our stay. I wish this best western was closer to the beach to just walk down. But overall everything was great. Thanks to the staff that made it great.
This hotel is a great value for your money. It's clean, quiet and has free breakfast. It has all the amenities. The staff were polite and very helpful. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family and will definitely come back to this hotel.
Loved the price, room was clean, bed was comfortable, gym was nice but disentangle have a a chance to use it. Loacation was close to the main part of town. Breakfast was great the facilities had a automatic pancake maker, that was different and unique.
I've stayed at this motel a few times and each and every time it's an above avg. experience. Clean, quiet, the room had all of the extra's a higher priced room would have and they were all in good condition or working order. If you're looking for an economical room that has all you need give the BW Oxnard a try.
My stay was average to below average. I had requested extra towels and lotion, which were never delivered to my room. There was horrible water pressure. After I checked out, I left my car there briefly as I had lunch with a friend. Shortly after 1pm, I received a call threatening to tow my car away. Upon return to the hotel, the lot was empty. Why was my car threatened to be towed. I'm a returning customer and a member of your rewards club. I am unsatisfied with the service and treatment and price value all together.
This place deserves about four stars but I'm going to bump it just because of the sheer value. Oxnard is a great budget jumping-off point to visit Camarillo, Ojai, Ventura, Malibu, and all the beautiful local beaches. Yes, it's a ghetto area, but improving: there's been lots of revitalization work in Oxnard over the last decade or so. Outstanding mex food all around this area. Rooms here are recently renovated and huge. Very clean. Better than average breakfast. Centrally located, convenient laundry room. Super nice staff.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 days just to sleep. We were on the road visiting other places most of the time. The rooms were clean though. Beddings were crisp and the rooms smelled pleasant. The only thing unpleasant was that, when I made the reservations I was told that this hotel does NOT honor the Best Western Rewards card points. However, when I asked the hotel cashier, they DO HONOR the rewards card but it was too late because the bill was already charged to my credit card.
I would've rated it a 5 but the floor in my room was dirty. White socks turned black. No joke. The price of it was good. The beds were very comfortable. Service was great. Checking in/out was piece of cake. Only complaint is the filthy floor.
we were exhausted and this hotel gave us hope. It was convenient and the beds are great. We were not visiting Oxnard but passing through. If on your way, be sure to stop here. You will not be sorry at all.
This room was amazing! The first words that came out of my mouth when I opened the door was "WOW". We slept great. They did a great job on the remodel of this room. The lobby and breakfast area were being remodeled when we stayed. They had a nice grab and go snack for us in the morning. We would definitely stay here again.
The office person Nool was very friendly, accommodating and helpful! The location was great and so was the price. Although I didn't use the gym, laundry etc., they had these services onsite, which was great. Onsite parking is free and convenient!
The rooms were nice and the location is right in the middle of town at a busy intersection. I didn't hear the noise to much. It appeared to be a place where a lot of workers would stay vs tourists but they weren't a bother or anything. There is a small pool on the property. The free breakfast was very good.
This place has everything you need. My room had a refrigerator, small stove with two burners, iron/ironing board, microwave, large flat screen TV, wifi, blowdryer, decent closet space, a comfortable bed, good shower and toiletries. It was clean. The noise was not great. The room faced a parking lot, which faced a busy street. Also the refrigerator in the room was unbearably loud--so loud I had to unplug it. The setting is not pretty; but for convenience and the cost, it's a great deal. I believe there was a fitness center, however, upon check in I was not told where it was and I did not see it. I did see a pool, which looked nice. If you are noise sensitive, ask for a room that doesn't face the street. Not sure that exists...all rooms might face the street, but I'm not sure. If you're a healthy eater, the breakfast might not impress you. I asked for oatmeal without sugar and was told they didn't have it. It turned out they did. One of the attendants brought me a packet (so kind) after someone at the desk firmly told me they didn't have it. They don't have non-dairy milk available, so bring your own if you require it. They do have fresh fruit and good coffee, as well as plenty of sugary cereals and other sweets.
Overall excellent stay. Price is good considering your it's a beach area. Rooms clean and modern. Staff friendly and professional. Located about 15 minutes from Channel Islands. A CVS pharmacy is directly across the street, I would absolutely stay here again.
Hotel was perfect, breakfast was a nice surprise. The staff was outstanding, No complaints whatsoever. Only glitch was our room key would not work to open the door and someone was out immediately to take care of the problem.
Easy booking , staff very helpful , beds so comfy as well the pillows , we are use to tempurpedic ?? beds and pillows but had no problem with either , hardwood floors were a bit dirty we took our shoes off , and having white socks on it was evident , breakfast was good "continental" ok for us 70 + age but all in all we would book again if ever this way . We do like to stay with Best Western
This hotel is really nice, comfortable, and quiet. The location is a little sketchy at first, sort of an odd corner, but once in the hotel grounds, it feels like a little oasis in the city. Clean and cozy.
We made reservations here because they boasted about how they were pet friendly. Well after making reservations and getting excited to finally be able to take my dogs on an overnight beach trip I saw on a different part of their website pet friendly with a small fee. I called them up and asked sure enough their small fee is $40 per pet! Forget that! I'm not paying $80 extra bucks for a 3 lbs and 5lbs dog. Especially because they weren't forthcoming with that little info. What would of happened if I hadn't of done a bit of looking around on their website before my trip? So we cancelled our reservation and will make a day trip to the dog friendly beach up there instead. Shame on you Best Western for advertising you are pet friendly and then surprising people with a $40 fee per pet for it!
Overall, a nice place to stay. Nice atmosphere. My husband likes the hot tub. Pretty surroundings. Good breakfast. Everything worked as intended in room. Nice shower--plenty of hot water. Hotel was nearly fully booked over the Labor Day holiday and there was no feeling of being too crowded, except at one breakfast.
One of the things I consider when choosing a hotel is my knowledge of the comfort of their beds or based on other reviews. I loved the comfort of my bed as well as my friend theirs. Everything about our stay was great. I rated the value poor because I have stayed here before, even in prime season, for $40 a night less. This is the only reason.
Stopped here, driving from Morro Bay to Hurricane 6Flags. Nice hotel and lobby. Room was great size with coffee maker, hairdryer etc. Breakfast was ample with pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and English muffins and cereals. Good wifi signal. Pool and hot tub near reception. Pool err on cold side but hot tub was fantastically hot! Good visit and definitely would use again...
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not the greatest location, but the best part was the Mexican Restaurants near by. The Cabo Seafood Grill and Cantina is just across the big intersection and the food was authentic and delicious.
This Best Western in Oxnard, California served more than 'Continental Breakfast'. Pancakes and scrambled eggs/bacon-sausage. Cereal, yogurt, fruits & breads/muffins/cinn rolls. Wide range of room sizes/choices. Mostly quiet. Good location.
Stayed for 1 night before heading back to LA from SF, The staffs were very helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean and good size. The vending machine and ice machine is in the center of the courtyard, but it's nicely maintained and all are clean and kept well maintained. I will mostly defiantly stay here again when I'm in the area. Overall, great place to stay.
hotel was difficult to find and in an area that made me uncomfortable...I only stayed for 1 night and hotel had very few guests on that night ....added to my unease about the location Room was spacious and felt clean but I will never return.....no communication from anyone and on check out not asked about my experience......certain there must be better options in the area
the hotel was extremely well run. felt very comfortable here, and wish all the hotels on this trip were its equal. the staff, room, mattress were all something that best western could be proud of. might wish for a little more in breakfast selections, however when I asked for yogurt, it was brought immediately to the buffet.
As I teach in the evenings, my ability to get an earlier check-in and some rest before my class is really important. This hotel worked out really well. I was feeling restless after driving for more than three hours and the hot pool was just the ticket to relax a bit and then get a good nap. I stayed working on my computer until almost noon with no complaints from the staff about my late check-out. The price was reasonable.
Highly recommend this location to anyone. Not the least expensive, but you get what you pay for. Great desk staff, clean, comfortable, quiet room. Well maintained and easy to get to. Excellent restaurant/Cantina - Cabo - is within walking distance.
A nice hotel. Good size room, excellent free breakfast. Nice pool and hot tub. Service was good. Staff friendly. The only negative was the soap and shampoo was held to the bare minimum. Air conditioner was also a bit loud.
Stayed here as we wanted to be close enough to Los Angeles without having to stay there! Wasn't too sure of area when we arrived but is within short driving distance to The Collection (local shopping centre) with plenty of restaurants. Rooms were clean and spacious with comfortable beds and a filling breakfast. Good value for money.
We stayed here for a night on our way to Monterey from San Diego. The appearance of the hotel is very nice on the outside. The inside of the hotel room isn't bad either. Though, when we walked in, we noticed it was as if the room was made for one King size bed but instead, there were two queen size beds. One was nearly right up against the air conditioner by the window then there was a night stand in between that bed and the other bed. Even the other bed was nearly against the oopposite wall. So, if 2 couples were staying in this type of room, one person in each couple would struggle getting out of the bed. The room was very clean though and there was a nice continental breakfast in the lobby with cereals, fruit, a pancake maker that is SO CONVENIENT, eggs, bacon, and assorted pasteries, along with juice, coffee, etc. Hotel is nice, just not laid out very well.
We stayed here for 4 nights while attending an event in Camarillo. This was our first stay at this Best Western and we would definitely return. This hotel was very clean and the staff was professional and attentive. Although there isn't a huge selection of nice restaurants in the area we enjoyed the local flair. We previously stayed in Ventura on our last trip but having to commute back and forth on the 101 on the weekdays was a nightmare. Staying at the Best Western Oxnard is a short drive from Camarillo and there are fast moving surface roads that shortened our drive considerably. We will definitely be back!
I have been staying at this hotel for over a year i check in on Monday and out on Thursday. Staff is super came back to room every day to a spotless fresh clean room. check in was awesome most of the time it was ready before i got there checkout was done with me simply setting my key on the counter when i would get to work my receipt would be in my e mail inbox. I am transferring for business and will miss my stay here. definitely a great place located pretty centrally and short commute to naval base beaches shopping and food and drinks.
While trying to find this place I thought I was lost because it didn't look like the niceset part if town. However, the hotel was great! Clean, comfortable room. Nice pool for the kids. The breakfast was good with a lot of options. Would recommend to friends.
If you're a "Big Bang Theory" television show fan, you'll get the title. My family is on a trek around the country. We're staying in a strange new city every night on our 9000 mile road trip. Each night that I can book at a Best Western I know that they will be staying in a safe, clean, and fun environment. My kids love the pool. My wife loves the cleanliness. And, well, I love that I don't have to worry about my family being safe. Every BW hotel that we've stayed in has been newly renovated, or was undergoing a renovation. The Best Western in Oxnard happened to be one that was still undergoing renovation. We stayed in one of the newly updated rooms. Even with the construction, they did not disappoint. The beds were extremely comfortable. I have very broad shoulders and if the bed is too hard it feels like someone was stood on my shoulder in the morning. If the bed is too soft my back feels sore. These beds were in the "Goldie Locks" zone, and I slept great... even with my 9 year old daughter kick boxing me. The layout of the hotel was great! Most of the amenities were located within a central gazebo, which was very convenient. The staff was very friendly. I could tell immediately that the gentleman working the desk cared about himself, and his job. We talked about the renovations that were happening. It was nice to talk with someone who cared. If I ever find myself in need of a room in this area again, I will definitely be staying at the Best Western in Oxnard.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Oxnard. We came for a Memorial Service and it was quiet and served our needs. The location was not far from the Memorial Service and other services. It was convenient to have a CVS directly across the street.
Had a very quick check in and got some good advice from the staff in the reception. The room it self was bit outdated but OK if you just need to sleep. A small gym and laundry is located in the gardenhouse. A simple complimentary breakfast is served, but not really worth eating.
Worst Best Western I had ever stayed at! Front desk told me that breakfast ended at 10:00 am and the next day went in at 9:15 am and everything was gone. The person behind the desk was rude and basically called my a liar stating that the representative from the night before said it was 9:00 am. No, all my family members said that they informed us 10:00 am
This was everything I expected from a hotel in this class. Clean, comfortable beds, presentable decor, fast WiFi, good breakfast... at a competitive price. Responsive staff (had an issue with the door lock, and they were able to replace it within 10 minutes).
The Oxnard Best Western is our preferred place to stay whenever we are in the area, It's moderately priced--a great value for the money. The staff is friendly and caring. The hotel is clean and well maintained as are the rooms. And I can't say enough about the breakfast.
The property was close to freeways. It has professional staff. The rooms were VERY clean, recently renovated and had nice extra perks such as a kitchenette. Nice selection of hot and cold breakfast items they offered in the AM. Would stay there again. Close to CSU Channel Island.
The staff is very attentive; good pool; new equipment in fitness center; sufficient breakfast; newer rooms. Looks like the hotel has updated recently. Across the street from CVS, so easy for any items you forgot to bring. Nearby restaurants.
While check in and the third party room reservation was a little rocky the room itself was very nice. The gym was very small but had a water bottle refill machine that made refilling water easy. Not an easy feet in California.
Quiet and clean hotel. Very nice and accomodating front desk staff. Would stay again. Had a great night's sleep. Close to the Camarillo outlet malls. Breakfast was great and even though there were many guests when we ate (it was Memorial Day) the staff made sure that everything was available to all.
Stayed for a night to race in the Ventura marathon. Staff was kind enough to allow us for a late check out. Had a great night rest! Room was newly renuevated and modern. The room we stayed in was #115, I highly recommend this place anyone staying around Ventura/ Oxnard area.
We were lucky to get a room as we checked in very late. The staff was very kind and efficient - which was good because it was cold out and we checked in via a little window. The room was very clean and current. We had a comfortable and quiet nights rest and woke up to see the whole property is very well taken care of. The room was a bit expensive for us, we usually stay close or under to $100 but like I said, we did check in late at night and Im not familiar with the area.
If you just want somewhere sensible to stay whilst in the Oxnard area for the strawberry festival, I can highly recommend the Best Western Oxnard Inn. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are tidy with very good maid service and they provide a daily complimentary continental breakfast with lots of choices to start your day. I will definitely return on our next outing.
The customer service was exceptional and room was very clean and neat. Thank to the staff for a wonderful accommodation. Our family will definitely stay again. We would recommend this hotel to our family and friends.
For the price you get a nice clean room with fridge and pretty big screen tv. You have a pool, jacuzzi, exercise room, laundry room and vending machines. They serve breakfast and are walking distance to a pharmacy and fast food. What more can one ask for for such a reasonable price? This is where I will stay whenever I visit Oxnard.
My husband and I stayed in the Non-Smoking King Room with Kitchenette and Sofa Bed (room 252). Upon arrival, the front desk was VERY friendly and helpful! Room was very clean and spacious. Front desk called our room to make sure everything is to our expectations which was very much appreciated! We did not get to enjoy the pool or hot tub, however we did take advantage of the 24 hour gym room. It's very simple, but we were happy we got a workout in! Room had treadmill, bike, elliptical, with a strength training machine & TV. Complimentary Hot Breakfast was great as well! Had a good variety of food, pancakes, toast, bacon, eggs, juices, fruit, etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and will stay here again on our next visit to Oxnard.
Nice sized room with two double beds. Small fridge to hold water bottles, etc, and small microwave. Free Wifi. Big TV with free Showtime. Convenient location and desk staff were very nice. Good value for the money.
We visited for 2 nights in May, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Room was large with 2 double beds, small fridge (too small for carry out boxes), microwave, bathroom with bath and toilet and sink are outside it in main room. Plenty of space and clean. Nice toiletries, coffee etc. Staff very pleasant. Nice breakfast available in foyer, scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon one morning sausage the next, lots of bread. rolls, fruit, savouries, selection of teas etc. Very well laid out. The reason I am giving a 4 instead of a 5 is that there is construction work going on in front of the reception which is very unsightly and I wasn't aware of same from website. There are no signs saying where reception is and we drove in and around property, out of it and back in again before we could work out where to go to check in, girl on desk was not able to deal with this issue as she said she was a trainee. Nice little pool area, pool freezing, no towels available at pool.
Would not stay again! Too expensive for the value. No wifi access. They really need to lower the price based on the surrounding location. There are other places in Oxnard that I will look into next time.
I stayed at many BW in the SoCal region, but this one was my worst hotel experience. The Wifi stopped working at 10PM, and the train was loud and shook the whole building.Just pick another hotel. Make sure that one is not near train tracks
Traveling for business my husband and I were pleasantly surprised by how clean our room was as well as the fact that the room included a full kitchenette. Large room, and free breakfast was good. Great Cabo mexican restaurant around the corner as well.
This property underwent a renovation recently and, overall, did a very good job. With the exception of a few dust bunnies on the ceiling, the room was clean and very well appointed. The volume on the television seemed muddled, so we used subtitles. Our issue with housekeeping is with the property's policy and the seeming lack of concern from the front desk employee at the time, although we realize a staff member is only as empowered as management will allow. We checked in on Saturday and everything was great. There were local and national newspapers available in the lobby (complimentary) as well as fresh fruit. After a good night's sleep we stopped by the breakfast area the next morning for a light breakfast before heading out at 6:30 a.m. to run a half marathon. We returned to our room after 12:30 that afternoon and our room had not been cleaned. When we contacted the front desk, their response was explaining the property's policy, which was explained nowhere on the website, nor in any of the confirmation emails or printed materials in the room itself. Apparently at this BW if you want a guarantee that your room will be clean before 3:00 pm, you need to call the front desk and request it! After running that half marathon, all my husband and I wanted to do was take a shower and a nap, but the front desk explained they couldn't send anyone to clean our room because the ENTIRE housekeeping staff was on a break! We waited out by the pool until about 2:30 and finally our room was serviced. The room was clean but housekeeping overlooked the dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling over the bed. By that time I was too tired and didn't want to have to wait until someone would be available to remove them, so I took a nap and informed the front desk about them when we checked out the next morning. Front desk - Upon check-in the service was great, and on Sunday a.m. when we stopped by the breakfast area before heading out to the race, the gentleman staffing the desk greeted us and asked how our night was. By the time we returned after our race, there was a different employee at the front desk and he was the one I spoke to on the phone over our room not being cleaned. This same individual was also staffing the front desk on Monday morning when we went to breakfast and he never greeted us. Upon check out a couple of hours later, he didn't greet us or ask us how our stay was, just handed me my receipt. As much as we like BW, we won't be staying at this property again when we are in the area. We will pay a few extra $$ and stay at the Marriott Courtyard instead.
Clean Rooms & Professional Staff from the Hotel Manager to The Breakfast Staff Person. In all of my business travel I have not experienced such a caring staff. Definitely I will be coming back. This is the best business hotel in the area. The breakfasts are hot and varied.
Booked my hotel a week in advance for a kitchenette room. We drove 15 hours to this location to find out that they took one of the kitchenette rooms down for maintenance and that the other was booked. They tried to offer an 8 dollar discount for the inconvenience, but as you can see, the inconvenience far outweighed the discount. However, the staff member made a call to find out that maintenance was completed that day and they were able to check us into that room. Please know which rooms are available before someone tries to book it.
Friendly staff, clean hotel with breakfast included. Only problem was they were doing some sort of construction so parking had some debris. Overall satisfied with the size of the room and amenities. I liked that they gave us the corner room for privacy and it was close to the stairs. Just a few miles to the Oxnard Harbor and the freeway.
Stayed here for 1 night before we went whale watching. It is clean and the staff was very helpful. The hot breakfast in the morning was very good. They had lots of choices including a pancake machine and hot eggs and sausage.
Check in and check out were quick. Room was clean although the layout was a little odd. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was fine. Upon checkout, we had to leave by 5 am for a fishing boat, and we couldn't get anything more for breakfast than bananas that were sitting on the counter. If you want to enjoy their breakfast, you must be there 6am or later. We were bummed on that.
Excellent and friendly hotel.and the atmosphere was very good...we enjoyed ourselves went to the beach for picnic etc.the rooms was very big and very tidy with the swimming pool and the gym and laundry place..food everything there was very good and inviting.
Easy access from Los Angeles from 405/110 or from PCH. Very clean room and friendly staff. Very well located close to the Camarillo Outlet Mall and beaches. Pet friendly. Will not hesitate to stay here again.
You get what you pay for, The room wasn't anything to write home about. They severed a buffet breakfast that was ok. powered eggs and bacon or sausage, pancakes fresh fruit etc. It pretty much covered all the breakfast idems
Room was clean, bed was big and comfy, TV was large with a great picture, shower and bathroom was clean and in like new condition. Now the problem, WiFi, a complete waste of time if it connected at all. I have had faster better service in the Philippines.
My family stayed here on our first night of a 2 week vacation in California. The room was very good, clean, we had difficult finding the place with our GPS. But once we found it, it was very close to grocery stores, shopping and restaurants. There is a small Mexican grocery store only 2 blocks away. The desk clerk was a little rude while checking in, but other than all was well here. The place had a decent breakfast and the staff running the breakfast and working the front desk the following morning were great. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the area for vacation in the future.
Got this on a sale price - right around $500 for 5 nights, the hotel we usually stay at was going to run over $900. It is a clean property; good sized room with microwave and refrig. The A/C was good and cold all night for the entire stay (this is unusual in my experience) and the bed was not bad. Breakfast was included (not a lot of variety but enough...scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, pancakes, cereal, different breads and breakfast pastries with plenty of bananas and oranges) and the free wifi was pretty fast when I used it - you have to call the desk for the password. The property is not in the best part of town but we had no problems. Mostly families and construction workers staying when we were there. No problem with street noise or any other noise and no one bothered us. There is a big, new drug store across the street (either CVS or Walgreen's) where we filled up on bottled water and other stuff, very convenient. You are right at 5 points in Oxnard. The only friendly people we met were the night desk person and housekeeping; no one was rude, just cool and aloof and made you wait just a little longer than was probably necessary. We probably will not stay there again - just didn't feel welcomed and that is the thing that didn't make me feel safe. Too bad, the hotel almost overcame the location except for the 2 previous statements.
This Best Western was a great place to stay. It was very clean, the room was comfortable and roomy. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was okay. The eggs were a little over cooked or dried out. The pool was nice and clean.
Main gripe here was the A/C unit just inches from the bed, how can anyone sleep with that cold draft blowing right at you? Don't understand how anyone could design a room that way. Also, sound insulation was poor, lots of noise from parking lot and guests milling around and going outside to smoke/chat.
The room was nice ...we had a problem with the t.v. ,but it was quickly resolved I like that . They provide breakfast food was good. They had a good selection of movies on demand ....!! Overall a good place to stay for a weekend!!
Hotels in this area are very expensive so we were very happy to get a room at a Best Western for a great price. Rooms were very nice, beds were comfortable and the breakfast hit the spot. If we travel there again would definitely stay.
We only needed to stay for one night so it worked out just fine for us. Rooms were very clean including the carpet and remote control. We got the Shop and Stay package for the Camarillo outlets which included a VIP coupon book and a $25 gift card to the outlets. It was a great deal and a great stay.
I left a small item that had huge sentimental value to me when i finally figured out i must have dropped it in my room somewhere i contacted the front desk to see if anyone had turned it in. I was super happy to receive a call from them saying they found my clip and were going to hold it for me till i returned the following week. Being that the item had originally belonged to my father whom i lost recently the gesture and care that the staff put forth in seeing to it that it was returned will always be remembered. I want to thank them sincerely.
the hotel staff were helpful and kind and very professional, the room was immaculate and beds very comfy! Our maid service was awesome and the breakfast was great! We had no problems checking in or out and parking was available all weekend
We were pleasantly surprised by the Best Western, Oxnard. It was spacious enough for us for a one night stop off. It was clean and the staff were helpful and polite. It has just what's needed for a brief stay. Breakfast was tasty but hectic! It's held in the reception area and with so many people trying to get coffee and plates of food, it's busy!
The room was roomy and clean. There's a large flat screen TV. The breakfast included things like eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, pancakes, pastries, etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Pet friendly. The area of Oxnard is older, but the motel is nice looking and clean.
lovely hotel that is like an oasis in the city. very comfortable, clean, and cozy with more amenities than some much pricier places. can be tricky to get to the first time there, but once inside you won't want to leave.
This is the best hotel to stay at when traveling through Oxnard. The rooms are clean and have microwave and refrigerator. The rooms also have an iron with ironing board and the fitness room has a washer & dryer in case you need to do your laundry.
Clean, quiet, wonderful staff, comfortable, great beds, fridge, microwave! Add the pool, jacuzzi, and fitness room with laundry area, and it is nearly perfect. I had a great stay! A hidden gym where you wouldn't expect to see one!
2am pounding at our door…….. Come to find that the Hotel had non-guest visitors. Hotel is located in a not so inviting location, Pictures are deceiving!! My suggestions: 1. Higher fences that surround the Hotel, Perhaps add green lush brush the hides the fences. 2. Better lighting in the parking area. 3. Replace the carpets in the room and or Professionally Steam clean the carpets.
This hotel is not in a leisure/touristy part of town. It is in an older industrial area and not really comfortable for a leisure visit. I also would not recommend staying in the hotel alone. There is a lot of vehicle traffic and miscellaneous people wandering around at all hours.
