This best western has a fantastic location- 2 short blocks from the train station and an easy walk to the center of town. The room was small and the bathroom too but the location and fantastic breakfast more than made up for it. The staff went out of their way to be helpful
Branded as Best Western, Hotel Apollo is not one of their finest. Elevator goes to 4th floor. If you have a room on 5th floor you go the last floor by stairs. On the 5th floor you also have the "joy" of the sloping roof. Some rooms are VERY small at 9 m2 - but you pay the same price as for a "normal size" room. Room 506 is one of the small rooms and with the sloping roof on 2 sides - see picture. Try to avoid this. The hotel as a whole could do with an upgrade and new furniture. Service is good. Breakfast is around average, with self cleanup.
I was amazed by the food service at this hotel. You can enjoy wonderful breakfast, and the pasty and all sorts of tea (and also coffee) are available 24/7. Our flight left very early in the morning, so we had to check out the hotel hours before breakfast was served. The hotel staff prepared breakfast sandwiches for us around around 4am, plus some other snack and drinks. All these wonderful services were free of charge. We appreciated the hotel service very much!
Small room. Good enough for short term needs. Good service and friendly workers. good location and free parking.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times. The location is good quite close to the railway station, walking distance. The rooms are clean, some of them have built saunas in the room so you can make it cosy in the evening. The prices are moderate. Quite nice breakfast included and also free coffee with bisquites and cakes in the evenings and after breakfast for the customers. I have always met a very nice staff here. They are willing to make the best of your visit. The hotel also has a car parking area.
The hotel had a good location in the vicinity of the city centre, with free parking and easy access for those arriving by car. The room itself was very inviting, displaying the splendor of the past with quality furniture and well-composed décor. The breakfast was decent with a variety of warm dishes and cold cuts. The bathroom was visually worn and in need of refurbishing, but otherwise sizeable. The most annoying aspect was the sofa, which was very uncomfortable to sit in and influenced the impression of the comfort of the room.
I know I had an economy room but it was surprisingly basic. There were two single beds which was comfortable. The bathroom is tiny but functional. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of options in the breakfast buffet.
Great position near the city centre, clean rooms (some of them have a little sauna inside) and they also have a wide choice of foods for breakfast. But the best thing was the excellent staff! The receptionist in particular was very kind and friendly, he suggested us what are the typical foods to eat and gave us good advices to spot the northern light!! I recommended it
Stayed two nights due visit at the Oulu theatre. A small hotel, excellent value for money. If you look foor fancy rooms and red carpets, this hotel is not for you. If you look for a hotel just to stay one or two days in an inexpensive little hotel, consider this. Or, they do have bigger rooms, stayed in a standard room. A tiny room and a tiny bath room, but everything clean, the personnel was so truly friendly and ready to help you, the complimentary coffee /tea buffet all day long, with even some small pastries. The breakfast was even good,
Quite nice, very close to every thing walking distance (train, downtown). Personnel extremely professional and kind, they are willing to help any time. Recommended totally (price quality optimum). Breakfast wide variety of combinations. You have access to extremely good coffee the whole day. Internet however to slow. It is some thing to improve.
The receptionists with whom I had contact (three altoghether) were all very friendly (sincere heart-felt friendliness) and helpful with any request or question I came up with. The room (single on 5th floor) was a bit small, bit in relation to price paid still OK. A friend had booked a business room (price difference was not that high); this was spacious, nice in style and had a private sauna. Free coffee, tea and small pastries all day (self-made, not bought!).
We expected something standard when we booked a Best Western. But this place is just terrible. First in a sketchy location with prostitutes out front. Then just really old and shabby, run down bathroom, terrible decor. And to top it off, very expensive.
Hotel Apollo is a convenient hotel if you travel with train to Oulu. Already when you step out of the hotel you can see the railway station, which are only a few minutes away. Friendly staff. I could check in much earlier than usual. Plentiful and varied buffet breakfast. Nice atmosphere.
We really like the coffee and biscuits downstairs :). Also the receptionist is friendly and atmosphere comfortable. The room is very spacious and comfortable. The coffee machine is great!! No filter coffee.
This Best Western hotel has a nice location close to the railway station. The rooms are OK as well as the bathrooms with nice shower space. Some rooms have an inbuilt sauna. The general look was clean, but walking barefoot in the room was revealing the floor was not that clean. Anyway, you get enough for the price. The hotel has own small parking space, wifi and restaurant. Free coffee and sweet bread is offered for the guests in the evenings at the restaurant. The breakfast is nice, but if you enter the last hour, there might be not everything available any more. The staff is excellent. When choosing the room, over the karaoke bar will not be the best choise.
I've stayed in Hotel Apollo on three separate occasions. The first was two years ago, and the room was so small that I hardly could turn around in the bathroom, and the free floor space between the two beds was like from a doll's house. The two latter rooms were marginally bigger, but both times with a tiny sauna, which was nice. I believe I will return to this hotel if and when I travel to Oulu, but not because of the rooms. Instead, the ground floor lobby is open from early morning to late night, offering free coffee, tea, biscuits, donuts and suchlike to customers/guests. You can also sit in the lobby, which is calm and quiet during daytime, and work on whatever (silent) thing you are working at, and drink as much coffee/tea with nibble as you want. Also, the breakfast is better than in most Finnish hotels of the same price range, and it is included in the room price. To add to this, the hotel staff is very hands-on, friendly and helpful. When they move around among the guests (like in the breakfast room) they wear masks. Hand sanitizer is available on many spots. And finally, the location is perfect: one minute's short walk from the railway/bus station, and couple of minutes' walk from Oulu's central attractions and shopping areas. The hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant, but there are several very good restaurants just around the corner. Apollo might look a bit worn from the outside, but it's clean inside, and not the least a fleabag. Luxurious it is not, but definitely worth a recommendation.
pleasant stay for a business trip.Room was good and had built in sauna. staff was very helpful and friendly. But No extra facilities like Gym at the hotel.Room size is quite small according to the price range.
It's a nice hotel with a friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast with local products. Good location within walking distance of stations and the city center. Rooms were clean and not too dated. The downsides were the bad pillows (too high and hard) and the poor noice isolation. You could hear other room doors being shut, knocked on etc. if you are on a business trip, good nights sleep can be impossible.
Very good quality, affordable price! Oaikat juuri remontoitu, älyttömän siistiä! Pienet muttsa riityävät ja lämpimät huoneet. Rauhallinen ja hiljainen ja ihan aseman ja rotuaarin vieressä. Riittoisa aamiainen. Erinomainen palvelu. Renovated and tidy. Good location, nice rooms, excellent service. Perfect!
A good hotel with a good location in the center. Not far to walk to shops or restaurants. Good parking without charge. The room very nice with sauna, shower and a good seating area to sit and watch TV or a nice desk if it is work to be done. Good minibar with chilled drinks.
The hotel is nicely located between railway station/ bus station and the centre of the town. So it is easy to reach and from it is easy to move around. Hotel room was small, which we know at the booking, Just enough space for two people for one night. Bathroom was on the smallish side though. Service at the hotel was friendly and sleep quality ok, even we did hear people talking at the street during the night. The breakfast is ok, but being a vegetarian there wasn't much to choose from. I had to pass all the warm products all together.
We stayed for one night on our way to Lapland and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in the centre of Oulu and had been renovated with care and style. The room was very nice, the king size bed super comfortable, the sauna small but efficient. Every detail spoke of quality and good taste. Not to mention the extremely friendly staff. We just loved everything, this was by far our best hotel experience in Finland.
Simple and great place, ( clean too) and worth for the money, especially, if you get a sale or discount price. The hotel has good location, not on a busy main road, but you can find everything in walking distance in the city center, and very close to the railway station, and from the airport the bus 9 has a very close bus stop. This makes it very practic to stay here. They give a good breakfast, it was a nice surprise and experience. If I return to Oulu again, sure I shalll check this hotel where to book. I can recomend this hotel to everyone who doesn't have luxury expectations!
Very clean hotel, the room had extra bed for kids, there's fridge with alkoohol and watter, sauna in you bathroom. I had a fantastic breakfast and you get as welcome cofee and tea for free from reception.
I guess we are not used to the 'typical' small European size hotel room. Because we are traveling for 3 weeks, we had 4 suitcases (2 each for my husband and myself). We didn't even have room to open 2 of the suitcases because of the cramped room. The 'bathroom' was super tiny. Hard to even turn around it. If you are used to this type of room, no problem. We are not 'big' people, but we even had trouble with the size. Otherwise it was a good stay.
I was dubious about my booking, however from the time we got off the bus and walked the very short distance to the hotel, I have been extremely happy. The reception service was excellent, and they even helped me several times to change a train ticket. The breakfast was great, the rooms were very clean, and had everything we needed. My only suggestion is to book one of the bigger room as the bathrooms in the standard rooms are pretty small. It is walking distance to lots of places to eat and shop. I highly recommend it!
Even though my room was an 5th floor, the elevator goes up to the 4th, I liked the steam sauna in the bathroom, the breakfast and the hotel was right downtown. The staff was very helpful and friendly, thanks.
The hotel is very clean, frindly service. My early check-in was no problem. Closed to downtown and icehockey arena. Comfortable sleeping and bathroom. Breakfast was good as well. Parking was for free.
It was the two-days stay heading to Lapland and back during the holidays. I would recommend to consider this option for other travellers since the accommodation near Rovianiemi might be substantially more expensive. We highly appreciated this practical Nordic service: surprisingly inexpensive rates; compact, tidy and cosy rooms; good breakfast and free, ultra-speedy internet connection. The hotel is close to the centre and not far from the sea-front for short waling. Late dining options are available around the hotel as well. The pretty extra is 24/7 coffee/tea desk in the hall with light snacks and pastries (free of charge!) and we had a sauna in the room, so in the winter season its was a super hit.
I really appreciate the staff of the hotel, very helpful, little refreshment available whole day in bufet near reception - cafe, tea, small snack! sauna in room, if your room does not have sauna, one is available on upper floor - I tried, everything works great, I will always choose this hotel when visiting Oulu
The BW Hotel Apollo is just a few minutes walk from the rail station and 5 minutes from the city pedestrian precinct which makes it a good choice for the casual weekend visitor. Sadly, though, the rooms are very small, not so well appointed and lacking facilities in the bathroom. However, the in-room brochure does state that some items are available at the reception if guests arrive having forgotten such items as toothbrushes, shampoo, razors etc. Another poor feature was that no evening meals are served at the hotel and the breakfast was adequate but not notable by a vast selection or quality. The only staff we saw during 2 days was either at reception or replenishing the breakfast tables and although our welcome was extremely pleasant the attitude of the (different) receptionist the following morning was cold and inhospitable. Oulu has a selection of big-name hotels and I would suggest there are better places than the Apollo.
Stayed for 4 nights really good stay clean rooms really helpful staff good breakfast and drjnks snacks available all day Really good value. would recommend for a stay in Oulu near to all centre facilities
Nice hotel for an overnight stay .This is a good choice although it is not a luxury type of stay. The rooms were klean but very small and very basic. However it does offer a good breakfast. Attentive and helpful staff. The hotel is just around the corner from the train station.
When you need a hotel for an overnight stay this is a good choice but otherwise it is not a luxurious type of stay. The rooms are nice and some have saunas in the bathrooms. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are clean but with out any toiletries except for a soap. The walls are quite thin so if there is a baby crying anywhere on your floor or above you will hear it and hear it well. The breakfast is decent with enough choices for continental breakfast but no freshly squeezed juices. Some of the things lowering its rating is also an erotic shop across the street and a tattoo parlor.
I was given a single room in the fifth floor. There is an elevator, but as it turns out, the elevator only goes to fourth floor. Consequently I end up carrying my stuff up and down the stairs. The single room was clean, and it had a single bed and a desk, and a small bathroom. The room was actually much smaller than any other hotel room I can remember in a very long time (if ever, to be frank!). Luckily I only had to stay there for one night. The hotel provides a decent breakfast.
We choose this hotel because it offered some rooms with a sauna as we went there in the middle of winter. The room has a good size, maybe could have a bit more space for storing the clothes. We had a room with a sauna. The sauna itself is quite small but two people can sit in there and enjoy it after being out all day like we were. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a lot of different choices. The hotel is just around the corner from the train station and into the city centre it is just a short walk.
The room was really clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom was rather small yet functional. The parking is free, however, there aren't many spots in the lot and my car didn't fit in there so I had to park on the street (luckily it was a weekend night so the parking on the street was free, during the week there is a fee in day time) but that's the only minus I can think of. The price and quality goes well hand in hand.
I had a pretty last minute booking here so deserved the tiny solo room I got. The staff are wonderful and super welcoming. You can chill with your friends in the breakfast room and they will pack you off for your flight with even more generous gifts. 5/5 x
We had reserved a room with private sauna. The most important factor for selection of this budget hotel is free parking but still within reasonable walking distance to Oulu center given that hotel parking fee isn't inexpensive. Staff welcomed us warmly and left us a good feeling. The room is clean though not spacious. Private sauna is very good. The room price includes buffet breakfast. If you drive, this is good place of stay.
Budget hotel, a block from Cumulus. Room ok, shower good, sauna possible. Breakfast OK but no fruits! Free coffee / tea in the evening with some croissant and biscuit. Very polite and nice service. 24 free parking place at backyard.
I spent one night in a small room when going to Lapland. The toilet was tiny but because we were small ladies we could manage it. The personnel was nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good and the breakfast room was nice. The surrounding area is not very good looking. Free parking. We slept very well and continued after breakfast towards Lapland.
So yes... we were a little surprised to see the size of the room - two tiny twin beds and just enough space to walk between... and a shower that literally opened up via a flip door, next to the toilet, with a squeegee to slide the water off the floor when you are done... BUT ---- this was a great hotel!! Absolutely amazingly comfortable bed. (seriously - I wanted to take it home with me. Such a great night's sleep!) Great staff. Very friendly, helpful, accommodating. Really, really nice. Huge breakfast buffet, long hours, AND - food out all day. You can enjoy coffee and pastries at any time. I like that mid-afternoon coffee break! Excellent location. Just 2 blocks from the train, 5 blocks from buses, and steps away from the city center. If you want to shop - this is a wonderful location. Really great restaurants within steps of the hotel door. It was a great stay. I have no negatives!
Night service was just amazing, everything else was just or reasonable quality: nothing to seriously complain about, nothing special. The road works under the window is probably something temporary. The karaoke bar is not. And no convenient smoking place at all.
I Drove almost 800km to this hotel ( booked by phone ), said can pay when leaving. Asked few times this at phone and it was okay. So I desided choose this Hotel. Now after I was checking in these ladys said I need to pay room before I can check in, I was just driven 800km...! Now they promised me at phone I can pay when leave, but when I arrived I couldn't... I choosed another hotel for staying. Misleading - not care at all for clients needs.
The hotel is in a fabulous location, just steps from Riks museum. Breakfast is very good, lots of choices. Rooms adequate size. Clean. Shower only problem as always floods bathroom floor. Will stay there again because of location.
If you are willing to take the risk that you end up in 2nd floor room where you are sure to hear the night club or karaoke bar or / and people leaving the heavy music bar next door, this is relatively cheap hotel, close to the railway station. Good breakfast, the unexpensive rooms are on the 2nd floor and quite small.
The hotel had comfortable rooms fitted with two beds , mini bar, bathroom, Wifi located not so far from the airport in the center of city. Very good quality of breakfast in the hotel. The hotel had sauna and bar nearby night club for entertainment:).
The Best Western Hotel Apollo is a good hotel in the center of Oulu. It is not special, but it is clean, comfortable and has quiet rooms. The breakfast is good. The price is fair enough. The interesting thing is that they have karaoke every night in it's Bar and it is funny to watch the local performances. :)
Room was clean & pretty small. The bed was very comfortable & hotel Location was about 10-15 minutes walk to the busy shopping district - The Bobby @ Market place that not to be miss when you visit Oulu . Hotel also served with BF & offer free parking facilities at the hotel.
The hotel is comfortable, I had the chance to stay in a room with sauna and I really enjoyed it. Breakfast is nice and good as well. The karaoke bar at the lobby is really funny, with several international songs you can pick.
Nice room (with sauna) which was ok. The breakfast was fairly standard scandanavian style which was also ok. The staff were more than helpful with recommendations/help/etc for the downtown area. The downside was that there was a music bar on the opposite side of the street which would empty at around 0400 so there was a lot of noise from the street giving an early morning wake up call and broken sleep. For the hotel position then it's brisk 5min walk to the downtown area where there are any number good resturants and bars. Would stay again but on condition of not overlooking the music bar.
I had a room with 2 single beds. It was plenty big enough for one person. The bathroom was small. There was a kettle and tea/coffee/chocolate supplies. I liked the hot chocolate. The bathroom was compact, the shower had good water pressure. Everything was nice and clean. I did not hear any noise from outside and slept well. Wifi worked well and good reception on tv. Lots of seats in the breakfast area which was well stocked. This trip I seemed to be plagued by roadworks but the digger and large hole in the road outside the hotel seemed a bit much. The very nice man on reception says it has been going on for a while. Luckily you can circle round quite easily to approach from a different direction. The car park seemed quite small for the size of the hotel though I was lucky and found a space – it did test my parking skills though. Plenty of shops, restaurants etc in a very short walk. I didn't investigate the services on offer at the Erotiikan Pika across the street so can't report on those. I can say this is a very decent hotel for the price.
I stayed there five nights. Good breakfast, litte parking and in the middle of town. You could rent a bike at the Hotel. The little public sauna is at the fifth floor My room was not very big, but big enough for sleeping.
Stayed one night, as been also earlier few times. Room was equipped with sauna, which was a nice extra. Room was renovated some time ago - clean and nice with stylish, wooden furnitures. Bed comfort and wide buffee breakfast with reasonable price. What else would you need for a business trip ?
The hotel is old, but it has all the necessary things such as a good breakfast, clean rooms and friendly and helpful staff. It's also close to the center. If you're not looking for something special and only want to sleep and have a good breakfast I'd recomend this hotel.
This place is very average and would barely get three out of five if it hadn't had a private sauna in the room. I wouldn't recommend staying here at one of the rooms without a private sauna, but one of the rooms where it's included is just about worth it, especially for foreign tourists like us who were a little nervous of trying a public sauna, but wanted to experience it while in Finland.
Visited Oulu last week and stayed there for 2 day . Hotel is an absolute no from me. We had book double room it was very very small and the bathroom was exceptional . I had never seen such a small bathroom it was even smaller than aeroplane bathroom . Parking was clumsy and very difficult to park most of the time we had to park on the road . Dissatisfied is the word that came to our mind . Not recommend at all .
The hotel is old and the interiors (rooms included) need some make up... Anyway it is clean, located 5 minutes walking from the port (all restaurant and pubs are located there) and offers free parking and breakfast, along with coffee and pastries available for guests till 9 pm. Staff is very kind and helpful. For just one night is not so bad...
It was a good hotel with standards equal to its price. The location is good. I hope reception staff can put on some smile. The outward appearance look a bit old, but there is sufficient comfort in side. There is karaoke bar outside and guys making some nice in the night, but you can sleep with that. The car parking is too small and very tight.
Needed to stay around Oulu. Tried to find reasonable price with good room and breakfast. This was less expensive compared to other hotels around, still around 100€/twin room. Staff was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very good with lot of choices. Room was small and toilet/shower very small. After shower everything was wet. Car could be parked on back of the hotel for free. Nothing really bad for hotel, but price and room does not match in my opinion.
I spent 4 nights at the hotel. The city is quite small, so the hotel is well located close from everything: train station, central market, city hall, the river,... (max. 10-15 minutes by walking). People at the front desk are nice and helpful. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was great in the large and comfortable dining area at the ground floor. Ironing and shoe polishing sertvices are free of charge. The hotel is surrounded by erotic bars and pubs, but this was not an inconvenience at all, at least in my case I didn't notice any noise or disturbance. Taxi price from the airport 33 EUR. Enjoy the sauna at the top floor, it is nice. Be careful with the type of rooms you book: they have old & renewed rooms. I must report that I had a small issue: I booked a single room on the top floor, but the first night they told me that all of them were occupied... so they hosted me in a double twin room that was horrible (tiny & old). Second to fourth night I luckily got the room I paid for (much more lighter, decent size, new,...). I attach two pictures so you can see the difference in quality between the two rooms.
This hotel can not boast with a nice lakeside views or beautiful scenery but it is a good alternative if you are in Oulu on a business trip or need a place for a quick stopover. It is centrally located and safe, but some of the nearby houses/businesses seem a bit run-down. The hotel has a nice lobby/breakfast room, and their breakfast is a little above average, with a nice selection of teas and salty and sweet dishes. My room was in the attic, so you had to walk up a flight of stairs, and the room was really tiny, but it was ok for one person. There was everything that you need though, with a shower, minibar and a desk. The price was cheaper too than many of the other hotels in Oulu, and I slept well. I even tried their sauna which was in the top floor - nothing special but it is always nice to be able to use the sauna after a long day. The personnel was nice, but I didn't need anything special.
This hotel is situated near the railway station and has easy access to the ice hockey or to the center of the town. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. It has a decent breakfast selection and this was always well stocked in the morning. The room is clean and functional, free wifi throughout the hotel. The fun part in the room was the steam sauna - shower, a great way to warm up the bones after a day out in the cold. The only reason I didn't give the hotel the maximum rating is that my room was on the fifth floor - the lift only goes to the fourth floor. If you have a heavy bag this could be problematic!
I spent here one night on a business trip, after a long journey with 5hrs layover at Helsinki airport. Very centrally located, super fast check in and friendly - Finnish style - receptionists. Room was very basic and small, first floor on the main road, just a bit too noisy early in the morning for some roadworks. Breakfast area was cool, everything fine, very happy to find a Nespresso machine with (almost) real espresso coffee, compared to the filtered coffee you find practically everywhere. It's a quite old hotel (the elevator looks almost scary) but overall is well worth the money and for one night one a biz trip more than enough. No restaurant/room service, however I found a delicious Nepali restaurant 3mins away.
Location near to the small centrum of Oulu, very clean and quiet hotel, extremely helpful and kind staff, single rooms are quite small but comfortable. Breakfast buffet with good variety of choices. Small parking area
Nice, clean hotel and good location. Extremely nice and helpful staff. Good for family. Breakfast was quite Basic, but all necessary was included. Reasonable price, if we go someday back to this city, this hotel will be our choice again. Nothing to complain.
I stayed at the Apollo for 5 nights and to be fair there is not a lot wrong with the hotel. To be honest I would say that the hotel is better than average, it is fairly basic but more than adequate for my business stay. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was also quite good.
We stayed at this hotel only for a night after arriving on a late flight, before continuing our journey to Lapland. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the railway and bus station and didn't have too high expectations otherwise. However, we were pleasantly surprised. It's definitely worth paying a few more euros for a room with sauna. There is also a public one at the hotel, but it's more relaxing and private to have your own. The room wasn't too spacious, but functional. The staff at check-in was very nice and helpful on a Nordic scale. Also the breakfast was a pleasant surprise, very tasty and many different choices, including, but not limited to, Finnish food. The city center is just a short walk away. For a short stay it was great. The only negative points were the smell in the bathroom (probably originating from the sauna) and the proximity of erotic bars. The hotel itself has a karaoke bar, too, but in the 4th floor we weren't disturbed by it.
We stayed here over new year and couldn't complain at all. Good value, a great breakfast each morning, rooms were clean and the staff very helpful. The hotel has a sauna, tea, coffee is available downstairs until 9pm. You're spitting distance from the railway station & ten minutes walk from the city centre. There are numerous bars, restaurants in the immediate area. There is also a k-market 5 minutes walk away. We really appreciated staff allowing us to leave our suitcases there when we checked out at 12.
Staying here for two nights on a week-end trip. (Room with sauna.) The location is excellent, between the station and the city center. The breakfast definitely had enough choices for me (also gluten free bread, nb), but nothing fancy. Only possible drawback: it was very easy to hear people talking in the corridor.
Room was small and bathroom especially. My room was to the street and the music from the karaoke bar downstairs and the people leaving the bar was disturbing on the weekend. Breakfast was really good and hotel staff very very nice and helpful.
Our day started in Rovaniemi in pouring rain while on a motorcycle trip. After 4 hours of bad weather we had to find shelter in Oulu at this Best Western hotel. The hotel had a small parking lot with free parking. We checked into our rooms and discovered the bathroom floors were heated. The rooms were not very big, but for two travelers, the room size was sufficient. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The shower was a little small, my arm would hit the water control while trying to get clean. The hotel has a cold free breakfast which was good. We did not have any reservations for this hotel and the staff person was friendly with us and able to provide information for some local stores. The hotel price was fair. There are a few other restaurants near and we had dinner off site. The only issue I had during the night was a loud argument started around 0200 or so and carried on for about 40 minutes. I did not call the front desk to tell them, apparently no one else did either.
The rooms are small and quite run down and have extremely small bathrooms. The breakfast is ok but nothing spectacular. The reception staff is not friendly, almost rude. The location, however, is good in a nice neighborhood and just a short walk from downtown. All in all, this hotel is bad value for your money.
A trip to Oulu allowed a visit to Kolari by train in the Arctic Circle. The weather was cloudy but not too cold. The hotel was very convenient for the train station and the rooms included all the usual facilities.
Nice Hotel in the centre of Oulu. Convenient free parking behind the Hotel, with entrance to the reception. Friendly service minded staff and quick check inn. Got a room with a large bed and LCD TV. The bathroom a bit small but ok. The breakfast is only with the basic. Coffee and cake is available from 15:00 in the restaurant. There's no dinner served. Inside the Hotel on ground floor, there is a nightclub that closed at 04:00. The noise from leaving nightclub guest's woke me op both nights I stayed. Book a room to the back of the Hotel!
This hotel has very basic and small rooms. If you prefer big fancy rooms, this is not your place. Bathroom in my room was very small, but clean. Breakfast was good and adequate for the price of the room. Location of the hotel is quite central. Personal in the reception and breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. WiFi worked well.
This hotel is I would say pretty average, in a good way. Not spectacular in any sense, not very tired, not very trendy, simply a nice bed, a good room and a good breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A 40s or 50s PV800 Volvo taxi belonging to the hotel was parked outside the hotel when I visited, a nice bonus point for many car nuts.
