Voksenasen Hotell, BW Signature Collection

There was no sea view from our room even though that what was we booked and why we chose to stay here. Room has a forest view. Spoke to 2 front desk staff members about it and was told by the second one something along the lines of they don't control the trees. The outdoor pool was “heated to 18 degrees” The hotel does have common area with beautiful sea views and the included breakfast was great.

Great location, in the middle of my home town nature, near "Nordmarka". This Swedish designed hotel (gift from Norway to Sweden after WWII) is a time capsule of quality and style, all Swedish, right here in Oslo, Norway. I had the junior suite: Room 407 - "Arkitekt Larsen-suiten", very nice indeed (take a look at the photos). Welcoming and service minded staff. Big breakfast buffet. I'll be back!

The breakfast and the diner was more than wonderful, the welcome and the atmosphere at the lobby and the room was nice warm, relaxed and cozy. One of a kind was the view from the terrace which was breathtaking!!!

Very warm days. Pool is cool and busses drive near. Easy go to down to the town. Walking paths and holmenkollen is near. Breakfast was good.

If you want an oasis to come back to after a busy day sightseeing in the city this is the hotel for you. With a truly spectacular view over Oslo ,the fjord and surrounding countryside,an outdoor pool,comfortable rooms and beautiful spacious communal spaces…we loved our stay here. There are excellent, reliable and cheap metro connections to Oslo centre and lovely walks in the local area. Breakfasts were excellent and although a limited evening menu ,what we ate was very good. Iced water,hot drinks and fresh fruit is freely available in communal areas. Staff are helpful and friendly.

I was here in March 2025 for a global conference and despite still being cold, it was thoroughtly enjoyable experience. Nicely situated atop hills overlooking Oslo city and offering panaromic views, it was also a nice stay, comfortable rooms, nice food and service

We travelled as a family with three children. We were looking for a snowy holiday with comfort, peace and quiet. We found this at Hotel Voksenasen. We booked king rooms with a view of Oslo fjords, absolutely stunning views from our rooms and from the breakfast room, and library. Our rooms were small but had everything that we needed including a kettle and a mini fridge. The bathroom was basic but functional and very clean. The hotel was busy with conferences at the weekend but really quietened down during the weekdays. We enjoyed a great selection of tea, coffee, hot foods and continental breakfast each morning. In the evening we ordered pizza to take away to our rooms. Tea and coffee stations were open for everyone to help themselves throughout the day- we loved this touch! We took the T-bane (metro) to Oslo centre one day, which is a 10 minute walk followed by a 40 minute metro ride. Highly recommend the Munch museum. We drove up the hill 5 mins to the Oslo Vinterpark and rented skis, and enjoyed two days skiing. We booked a lesson with ski more for the first morning, this is highly recommended as we are beginners and. Our instructor took us to the bunny slopes and showed us the ropes first! Such a gorgeous stay thank you

Myself,and my son have just arrived home from a 4 night stay here. This hotel is a real gem tucked away high above the city. With this you are guaranteed an amazing view from the restaurants and lounges at any time of the day. We were lucky enough to have a room on the ground floor with a view through the forest to the city below. This hotel is very modern but cosy, super clean and had the comfiest beds ever in our twin room. The breakfast choice was vast everyday with good coffee!! We had dinner here on 2 nights and this was also delicious. It was a real treat to come back to the hotel after long days of sightseeing, sledging and enjoying all of the things Oslo has to offer after a short ride on the T ban. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. This will be my 1st choice when I return to Oslo.

Thank you to the staff for your warm welcome and for creating a calm relaxing atmosphere. We loved our stay at Voksenåsen. The hotel is an aesthetic delight: from the architecture and art to the stunning sunrise over Oslo from the breakfast room, it does not disappoint. The fireplace in the lobby was cosy and perfect for winter evenings. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, also the soaps smelled really good. When we visited the view from the room was the gorgeous snow-covered forest which was lucky. We arrived by public transport, an effortless trip from the city.

I highly recommend this lovely and peaceful place, right next to the forest. Perfect for hiking and get a good night sleep, or more. I love their library! They have an outdoor swimming pool, and other activities. Next time I hope I have some more time to explore. Good parking. I recommend you to read up on their story, it is literary a peaceful place.

I stayed at the Voksenåsen in a twin bed, single room at a price that competed heavily with those of comparable rooms in Oslo proper. It's a bit out of the way of the city, but there is a train station a short walk away that will take you through the major parts of Oslo with ease, as well as to all other parts with minimal difficulty. The area is great for a naturalist equal aims at traveling into the city. Expect Scandinavian modernity, convenience, and friendliness from the staff. Some things that one might expect from a hotel as an american traveler were available at an additional price rather than included, but those things were not essentials for a student traveling solo. Voksenasen is practically a “Hack” for staying in Oslo without paying centrally located hotel prices.

The location was beautiful. We went hiking right out the back door of the hotel. The room was good size and very comfortable. The dinner and drinks on the balcony added to the experience. But best of all, many thanks to Seyvert who hand delivered our left behind wallet to our next hotel on his own time saving us much time and effort. Thank you!

Very satisfied with our stay. Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, great view, good breakfast. However, paid extra for room with balcony. It is NOT a balcony but an outdoor passageway used by many rooms so unable to have the door cracked open at night for air as room become too warm. This was very disappointing and definitely not worth paying extra for.

Wonderful hotel with very friendly staff and the best view over the city and the fjord! Great breakfast in a very beautiful room also with a beautiful view and atmospheric music. And so close to the impressive countryside as well as to the T-Bane to go to the city centre. Our stay was just perfect!

Location, location, location. And beyond that, there's not much good to say. Room is OK, boasting the world's smallest bathroom. Breakfast was at booking.com hyped to be very good, while in reality it was a battle for space, missing items and staff with no understanding of user needs whatsoever. The bistor, we found out by accident, is closed on Sundays - which ought to cost the fourth star right away. It forced us to leave for a hasty meal in town, but when we returned, there was food being served in the bistro after all, and of course, we could have eaten there. The closed on Sundays information in the welcoming email is "just in case" there are not enough guests who have pre-booked. Service, my a.... This hotel ought to undergo a pretty close scrutiny by the Best Western management, as it seriously jepordizes the BW brand. Felt like having signed up for a hidden camera session - or perhaps a boy scout organized thingie for well-meaning relatives. Not an "international" hotel.

If you are looking for a hotel with a beautiful view from your room, then you should not book this hotel. The hotel's statements promise a beautiful view of Oslo from every room. In practice, this only applies from a few rooms. Because of the tall trees you have a view of the trees but not of the city. It's simply misleading. From the edge of the city it is about 7 km up the mountain. That's what you would pay if you did indeed have a nice view. But we have experienced this as a great disappointment. Very sad to have to end our holiday in this way.

A perfect place to relax and unwind with helpful staff members and excellent service. The hotel is close to the town yet in perfect picturesque surrounding and amazing view of the town. It is wonderful to take a walk in the forest area, Very relaxing.

Views over Oslo. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast selection. Staff friendly and helpful. It is on the top of a hill and not the easiest to find, car is required for ease. Lacked tea/coffee facilities in room

There was a wedding in the hotel, which meant the hotel staff lost all interest in "normal" guests. The restaurant was open, but limited to two very small tables. Food was ordered at the bar and the choice limited to pizzas which tasted bad. Room had deposit lying around from previous guests. Sauna was cold and switched off at 10pm, with no notice from staff. Location was great, good connection to Oslo and fantastic views.

Totally unspired conference hotel Maybe on the Best location in greater Oslo district on Holmenkollen you find the conference hotel Voksenåsen The food , the lack of any kind of service , leaves one with the impression that no one here really cares about the guest or guest experience The facilities are older and out dated , but thats not what brings this to a really bad experience , however the food and service does The view on a sunny Day is wonderfull

Voksenåsen is an (partly) older building with an interesting histori. Spme parts of the hotel therefor has a bit "old"/"worn out" style/impression. Rooms are ok. Food was very good in quality, limited choise (maybe due to off-season/small number of guests). Good food during meeting breaks. The hotel is at approx 400m over Oslo and you can have great views over the city and Oslo fjord. We had mostly snow and cliuds/fog and nothing to ser. Then you feel quit in the middle of nowhere.

The rooms are good, nothing too special but comfortable, well maintained and very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They also have great breakfast selection, very good and delicious. And the location is very special. It was very foggy when we were visiting, so we were unable to see the views but the forests around are spectacular.

Restaurant on top of the mountain with a beautiful view from the deck. Good food and lovely ambiance. Good customer service. A good place to relax in the evening after a day of activity. Private dining also possible for small groups.

We were here for a group dinner that turned out to be a celebration for Midsummer. There were great festivities this day but we had a separate room just for our group. We had a traditional buffet and it was okay. We were trying different varieties of food and some were better than others. The setting for this hotel is on a hill and you have a splendid view. It's a hotel and conference center so it looks like there was a lot to offer here. It also looks like it could be very cold when it is winter.

We really enjoyed our 3-night stay! This place is only a 30-minute metro ride from the center of Oslo, yet we felt as if we were in a national park. The atmosphere here is incredible. You're in the middle of the forest, looking down on the city of Oslo and Oslo Fjord. The property is clean and comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is extensive; there's something for everyone with an array of good choices: yogurt with a zillion toppings, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes, waffles ... Our room was sparsely furnished but had almost everything we needed -- I say "almost" because if I could change one thing, it would be that we would have had an extra place or two to set things down -- an extra little table or a ledge or even a couple of hooks on the walls. And if that's the worst thing I can say about this place, we did just fine! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
