    « A nice spot »

Really liked this motel. It is a completely revamped, remodeled older motel. Outsideparkimg and stairs. The room was fresh, spotless and totally remodeled there is a restaurant attatched that had good food. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I am picky about beds and this was a comfortable one.

    4
    « No Breakfast »

We like Best Westerns but this one disappointed us by not having a breakfast. The price was about the same as other places that have a great breakfast. We just got the little snack bag in the mornings and always ate a early lunch somewhere else. The staff was excellent and the rooms were very nice.

    4
    « Comfortable rooms »

This property is located just off the I-15 outside of Salt Lake City! Great place to stay away from the big city! The room is basic with comfortable beds! The outdoor pool is seasonal and was not opened yet on May 11th! No breakfast included with stay but there is an awesome restaurant located across the parking lot!

    « Granny & Service dog »

I have stay at Best Western Hotel lots of times and they always make sure that my service dog has everything she needs, and lets me know, she is all was welcome. The room is always bright and fresh smelling.. lots of fresh clean towels. Beds are nice and comfortable.

    « Don't bother »

I did not enjoy my stay here and will not be coming back. Although the staff was friendly, I did not feel entirely safe here. Two very loud were in the next room, and I felt uncomfortable asking them to lower their voices. Also, this hotel does not offer breakfast nor coffe/tea, cookies on arrival as I have become accustomed to during other stays at Best Western. My bed was uncomfortable, the room loud (besides the loud men next door, there was a lot of foot traffic and noise from the street. The restaurant across the parking lot was excellent, however.

    « Great hotel. »

This hotel is absolutely one of the best. Hotel has a great staff. It is very clean. Comfortable beds. Jeremiah's is a great place to eat. It is very easy to get to off of the interstate. And the views are amazing

    2
« Best Views In Town »

If you are in Ogden Utah, you need to stay at the Best Western Plus High Country Inn. The views are spectacular, the service is great and the restaurant (Jeremiah's) has been ranked the best in Ogden Utah 10 consecutive years.

« im not sure what to title this review, but i have allway injoyed staying at this location »

its convenient to the freeway and not far from shopping. Has a good restaurant on sight. I did miss the pond and fish. I did have another couple traveling with us that found parafinala under their bed, that surprised us.

    5
    « Great Location...Excellent Value »

With tax and various tourist fees, our nearly new room was $115 per night. Well built and attractive rooms. Easy off ramp heading north. BUT! If you are pulling a trailer or Uhaul moving, you will have parking issues. High points were lobby coffee/drinks 24/7, a grab and go sack in the morning(water, orange and a pop tart) there is a nice restaurant in the same building lot, and the breakfast was large and filling. Anyway, for me, Bestwestern Plus was well worth the price.

    5
    « Great Night's Rest! »

I was very happy with our room. It was clean and comfortable. I had a great night's sleep. We had a wonderful dinner at the onsite restaurant. Check in and check out was quick and easy. We will definitely stay there again.

    « Overnight stay »

Very nice hotel. Back of hotel is under construction but didn't bother us a bit. Very pet friendly! Quiet location and easy to find off I-15. Great restaurant across the parking lot. Would definitely stay here again!

Staff was excellent. Room was spacious. Very clean. Beds were excellent. Very accessible to freeway. Restaurant that is associated with motel very good. Staff very polite and knowledgeable. Food was excellent and service very prompt

« Good hotel for one night »

this is a good hotel when you are travelling. The rooms are comfortable as was the bed. We had a room in the back where there was construction but it was not due to start till 8 am and we were gone before that so it did not matter. They could not offer breakfast because they were under renovation- a takeaway bag with granola bar, water and fruit was offered. Staff was friendly. there was a restaurant across the parking lot that we had our evening meal at and it was a good home cooked meal. I would recommend this hotel for travellers looking for a hotel for a night stop.

    3
« Clean rooms, great maid service. Dated furniture, street facing entry, no microwave or fridge, no free breakfast. »

The room was clean, yet dated. No microwave or fridge. The on site restaurant is very good, no free breakfast is included in the stay. I'm not sure I will pick this motel again. When they complete yt?their new building I might. The staff is very friendly though.

    5
« A little awkward with the construction »

Awesome that they are still pet friendly! The room was much nicer than our last stay here. A little disappointed that the park was off limits for the construction, but new amenities were needed. As for Jeremiah's, don't expect much. The food has never been great.

    3
    « Better last time »

Silverfish bugs on floor in bathroom in night time. Construction started 8:00 am near our room. Liked pet friendly policy and nearby restaurant. Other than nocturnal bugs, room was fine, beds comfortable.

    5
« Great Mid Way between Missoula and Salt Lake City »

I have stayed here 3 times so far! It is the perfect stop over on the way from Missoula, MT and Salt Lake City. The town of Ogden is so cute and we really enjoyed this quiet, clean and comfortable hotel. The front desk staff is very helpful. I'll be back!

    4
    « Easy Access »

This motel is just off I 15 and easy to get to. The staff was friendly and checkin was easy. Our room was clean, neat and the bed was comfortable. I would have rated it one star higher but the bathroom was the smallest I ever remember having in a motel.

    5
    « Traveling with dogs »

we took our first ever road trip with our two large dogs. We were provided with a first floor room that opened to the park area. It was perfect. The room, and the entire hotel, was very nicely decorated, clean, and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful.

« NEWLY-REMODELED, BUT WITH MINOR NOISE ISSUE AND NO GRATIS BREAKFAST »

On our recent trip to Ogden, we once again stayed at the High Country Inn, which is just off Interstate 15/84 and on 12th Street, which ultimately becomes State Highway 39 leading to the Upper Ogden Valley and the ski areas there. To our pleasant surprise, this Best Western Plus had just been remodeled to an "Arts & Craft" decor, both inside and out. Our room was a standard size and well furnished with new A&C furniture and decoration. At 6 AM on our first morning there, I was a awakened by a noise like a distant jack hammer, so I thought it might be due to the expansion that was underway at the east end of the motel. Fortunately,it ended soon. I subsequently learned that it was a "water hammer" vibration caused by the flow restrictors in the shower heads, which I reported to the desk clerk when we checked out. This BW+ does not currently have a complimentary breakfast, but upon request will provide a $6 off coupon to use at Jeremiah's Restaurant across the parking lot, which also has been remodeled to an A&C decor. The food there was good and we had two meals there. The expansion will include a new breakfast room, which unusually will be at the back of the BW+. The High Country Inn is a newly-refurbished older BW+ with the issues mentioned above, but with a few tweaks should prove to be a very good place to stay while visiting Ogden.

    « Son,s wedding »

I always stay at this best western plus when I am in the area. Nice location and good staff. On site restaurant is good especially breakfast.i am looking forward to the completion of the new addition that is currently under construsction.

    5
« One of THE BEST Motels We've EVER Stayed IN »

A superb, clean, comfortable, quiet motel conveniently located about 2 blocks off the Interstate. Cheerful late night reception, after 9:00 PM, with NO reservation. A reasonably priced double Queen-bedded room was offered with easy access and quality amenities. The only problem: I don't know when I'll next be in Ogden to enjoy another stay in the High Country Inn. But if you're anywhere in the area, do book a room in this excellent facility. You'll have a great stay and you will NOT be disappointed.

    « My Review »

B/W Burley is always a pleasure to stay. Good rooms, staff, breakfast. Several eateries in close proximity. Well maintained with Great parking for my semi truck. Always a pleasure to visit this establishment !!!

    3
    « 2 1/2 star Plus?? »

Very clean and updated with a wonderful park. BUT, not for me. Midnight train sounds its horn though the other 5 just the bells.. ugh. Bed too firm for me, plumbing really really loud! Beware the neighbors late night and 5am showers/toilet. Lastly the in room climate control goes on and off every hour no matter the setting. And its hard to enjoy any beverage but especially a nightcap in a paper cup! Does not seem like a 2.5 star plus to me. Yes there is just an apple and granola bar to go.

    3
« Not worth the money.. »

For a Plus Hotel & the price you pay, the amenities were not up to par..it was the complimentary breakfast that turned us off for the most part. It consisted of apples or oranges & coffee & that was it..yogurt, a toaster, bread, bagels or muffins would be an easy addition for more choices. Also we were not offered Bonus points in lieu of the free bottled water & bars we were given because we were Elite members. We did not realize we could have had bonus points until the next Best Western Plus we stayed at. We probably won't stay there again nor recommend it for these reasons mostly for the lack of complimentary breakfast items.

    4
« Nice room / No hot breakfast »

I enjoyed every aspect of this BW-Plus property except for the fact a hot breakfast buffet wasn't offered (I got a bag with an apple and sugary granola bar instead). I was recently in a much smaller and older BW property elsewhere in Utah and even they had a breakfast buffet. It's the most important meal of the day!

    5
« Easy pet friendly booking »

Travelling with pets is always a struggle so when I found that this Bestwestern had pet friendly rooms I was very pleased. It was only $10 extra for the night and the room was very clean and very spacious for our two border collies. Booking in and out was a breeze the only thing that was missing was a continental breakfast!

    5
« Very friendly and walking distance to one of the most popular restaurants in town! Nice welcome from the front desk! »

Very friendly and walking distance to one of the most popular restaurants in town, Jeremiah's! Nice welcome from the front desk and treats to take to your room! Yummy cookies at the front desk too! Ogden is a breath of fresh air!

    5
« Great stop off the highway. »

Convenient, cute little hotel. Just what we needed on our cross country road trip. The staff was super friendly, it was affordable, and easy to stay with our 60 lb dog. Bed was comfortable and parking convenient.

    5
    « Ogden stay »

We had a very rough trip with visibility from blowing snow and icy roads to the feeling of relief once arriving at the Inn. We were greeted by friendly staff that made the check in a no hassle. We were off to a very warm and comfortable room. Rest and relaxation was a high priority for us and we were able to regenerate and go over to the restaurant and have a wonderful meal. The night sleep was relaxing with a very comfy bed and pillows to enjoy. The room was very clean and all amenities were at our fingertips. Check out was a breeze as usual and we were on our way. Thank you Best Western Inn.

    « Very nice hotel »

The hotel was very nice, its pet friendly, and the staff were awesome! the restaurant was very busy, but it was worth the wait the food and service were excellent! its a must stay we had a great weekend there is a lot todo in Ogden Utah !!!

« The customer service is the reason for the rating »

Driving through on my way to Colorado, and looking for a place off the highway, I found this Best Western. The room was nice and large, a bit of old hotel - you can park in front of your room. No free breakfast, but coffee and nice lemon water in the lobby. Also, little to go bags. There's a Starbucks down the street and a restaurant across the parking lot. Not necessarily a destination hotel, but definitely somewhere I'd stay again. Best part: customer service. I dealt with two different people, who were more than kind and helpful. First alerted me to the fact that I had BW Rewards points and there was a deal where I could get a free room; second gave me great directions to Starbucks.

    5
    « Excellent hotel »

Very clean and comfortable. Restaurant right there that delivers food to your room. Friendly, helpful staff. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was big, plenty of room to spread out.

    4
« Best Western Express Ogden »

Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff. I've stayed here on business several times in the last few years and will return! Nice green belt in the back of the property and a restaurant on site. It's a comfortable and easy stay.

    3
    « Good »

Pulled in late for one night - rooms around back were large and beds ok, an older hotel it seems. Would like to be in that room in the summer as it opens onto a huge second floor deck overlooking the grounds. Patio furniture all there for summer enjoyment. But, for a BW plus what was up with the breakfast? Apples or oranges and coffee?? And a brown bag ?to go' breakfast consisting of a granola bar, water and an apple. This is not nearly what BW Plus offers and kind of disappointing.

    4
« tiny bathroom, no breakfast »

BW High Country had gorgeous views of the mountains from our room. There was an extensive grassy area and walking path with a pond containing koi fish! Nice to go for a walk after being in the car all day! Was able to toss the frisbee for our dog as well, and it was welcomed exercise for all. The hotel is aging. The bathroom was SOOO tiny! We were definitely in the off season, so it was not very busy, so our room was quiet. We could not park our 16ft moving truck close by, which was worrisome but ok. Great restaurant next door, Jeremiah's, that had wonderful soups and a fantastic breakfast. More food than we could eat! I really dislike most hotel breakfasts, as they are carb and sugar loaded. The eggs usually taste awful.

    5
    « Ogden Best Western »

Decor, service, and restaurant were unbelievably Beautiful with great food and service. Easy access off of I 15 as the hotel was just around the corner. This will be a must stop for my family from now on.

    5
    « Great Place. »

Awesome place to stay. The hotel has been around for decades and keeps their promise to stay updated. Don't look any further, this place will have you thinking "why haven't we always stayed here" My new home away from home.

    2
    « What no Breakfast? »

Well we certainly expected more from this plus. It wasn't until i had paid for the room that I was told there is no full breakfast. They offer a grab and go bag with coffee a fruit and a granola bar! Woopee! The best rate even at this time(12.02.17) with military discount was 104.00. (tax included) I was tired and we just decided to go with the flow. The first sign of trouble was the door which for a senior was very hard to open Bye the way if there are typos, it is because i required 2 pillows to sit on so i could see my keyboard ! Second was the washroom. Sitting on the miniature was easy...getting back up not so easy! After 3 flushes....success! The exterior decor is lovely and the wood in the rooms is nice, but this place needs a complete make over. The best part of the stay was the dinner we had at a restaurant achoo the parking lot.

    2
    « Deceptive Marketing »

We were quoted a price which they said included our dog. They later added an additional charge for the dog. We called and got no satisfaction. Facility was nice and conveniently located. No breakfast at the hotel. Nice place to walk dog in the back.

  • 5
    « Family »

An excellent Best Western, the staff, the room and the property in general are great. The only thing the I feel they should change is to have a breakfast in the mornings . There is a 24 hour coffee bar in the spacious lobby that is nice. The welcome package and the grab and go package at departure is a nice touch.

    5
    « Nice Hotel »

Was a very nice hotel and great staff. Would be nice if it had a free breakfast instead of some breakfast bag to go. Staff was great and location was close to interstate.Pet friendly which was nice. Thank you.

    3
« not what we expected »

stayed here in the past we took the room without looking at it first, will do that next time we if we pass this way gave us a king size bed, in a very small room, even the bathroom was too small and we are both shorter than most people the restaurant is not part of the hotel so patrons get no priority over the walk up trade, the wait for breakfast was estimated to be 45 minutes so we went elsewhere

    4
    « Near the highway. »

So, this is a little more difficult to write this review. We had a good stay but there were a few issues. The highway and train tracks are fairly close. That means a little more noise than we were expecting. It wasn't bad but it was noticeable. A good thing was the park like setting at the rear of the property. It was a pleasant sight and gave an area for those with dogs and such to walk. Our room was on the second story and getting to it was a slightly challenging adventure getting our stuff up there. The restaurant on the property was good for breakfast and we got on the road quickly after our stay. The room was clean although when we checked in the first room they wanted to put us in was not ready... it was a first floor room and would have been a good deal easier to deal with if it had been ready. Our evening meal was take out from a restaurant further from the highway than the on-property one.

    5
    « Frieddly People »

We were lost & the desk agent took the time to guide us in. It took three calls & a lot of patients but She did the job very well . A great place to stay , but we did miss having the morning breakfast, because it is not offered..

    4
    « Great Stay »

We stayed here on our way to Texas, and again on the return trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The adjacent restaurant, Jeremiahs, was a pleasant surprise. They had good food at a reasonable price. The hotel doesn't have a continental breakfast, but they do have juice and coffee and offer a travel bag that has water, granola bar, and fruit to go. Nice place to stay.

    4
    « Keep returning »

This is a very good hotel for business travel. Over the years I have experienced some minor issues but I keep returning. It's convenient to get to from I-15 but tough to get back on in the morning rush.

    3
« OK place to stay »

You can park right outside your room but there is no free breakfast. They give you a grab and go bag - it has a piece of fruit, a bottle of water and a granola bar. They do have coffee available. It was rather a noisy location. Staff was very pleasant.

    3
« Noise from shower in other rooms »

The noise from people showering in other rooms kept us awake from 4 AM . We had been on the road for 12.5 hours and needed our rest, which we didn't get. Needless to say, we did not stay in a Best Western on the way home.

    5
    « Visiting friends& family »

We stayed in 3 Best Western's during our travels from Puyallup WA, Ogden UT & Salt Lake City UT. All 3 were very clean with helpful, friendly staff. We plan on a road trip next summer and will stay at Best Western when ever we can.

  • 1
« Is there a lower rating? Why not? »

Things missing like extra blanket/ pillow. When reported to front desk in person, I was questioned like "what do you want me to do about it." Informed them that I just didn't want to be charged for them and clerk acted as if I was really putting them out. Unfriendly. Onsite restaurant was loud, expensive and the food very marginal. Waiter was extremely slow and forgot side dishes and I had to track him down to remind him. Actually cancelled some ordered items because they didn't come until rest of meal was complete. Do not stay here!!!

    3
« Opinion on Hotel Service »

Average facility. Disappointed that it does not have a complimentary Breakfast as many other BW have. Appreciate the size and convenience of the large Dog Walk area as well as the convenience from the Freeway.

    3
    « NO BREAKFAST! »

Very clean hotel but rather expensive for what you get. This is a WELL KEPT "motor-lodge" type of property where you park in front of your door if on the first floor. The rooms are spacious, bed was ok - Nothing special. With tax you are at $120 or higher. Pets are $10 additional/pet and they have limited pet-friendly rooms so book early in the day. There is a restaurant right on the grounds so you don't have to get back in your car to go eat dinner or breakfast. Their "grab and go" bag in the morning (which substitutes for continental breakfast) is an apple, a bottle of water and a very small granola bar. Reservationists are friendly and there is coffee, hot chocolate and juice 24/7.

    5
« This is the best place to stay when in Ogden! »

I've stayed here once before on my way to Colorado and it was my first choice to stay again on my way to Idaho. Excellent experiences both times!!! The rooms are roomy, the beds are very comfortable and my favorite is the restaurant, Jeremiah's, they have room service and are quick and polite. I travel with my little Jack Russell and the dog park is a treat for her but is also very cool with the Koi pond there too. Thanks for the continued excellence. It is a treat to stay there.

    3
    « No free breakfast »

I stay at alot of motels throughout the year, and, have never stayed anywhere that did not at least offer a free breakfast to the guests of the motel. Also, this place has the noisiest water pipes that will wake you up in the morning when other rooms use the shower.

    5
    « Very Beautiful Place »

The military and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have undo influence, but other than that it is indeed a beautiful place. The historic Catholic Monastery offers a bit of respite from the hustle and bustle of the moment.

    5
« Easy to get to, clean room »

This hotel is easy to get to, just off the interstate, The appearance of the lobby is very nice. The room was very clean. The staff were very polite and accommodating. The internet is very fast and the TV channels were good.

    2
« The hotel is very old and need a remodel. No breakfast for travelers. The rooms are outdated. »

The place is outdated and need a lot of updated items to be considered a quality place to stay. Poor heating and cooling system and the bathroom is to small for the average travelers. The toilet had no pressure and was unusable while we stayed here. The room needs a décor makeover and had a very bad smell to the room.

    5
« Front desk personnel was exceptional! »

Front desk personnel (Stephanie) secured and forwarded personal documents left on premises when I checked out. All employees from front desk, landscapers, cleaning staff, etc. were all very friendly and helpful.

    3
« Good comfortable motel but backside rooms will have nightime train noise »

Our room was comfortable and a great size. However, we were on the backside and did hear some train blowing/noise. Mentioned to staff and they said they were in a quiet zone so should be noise free but it was not. Breakfast was a to go bag of a bottle of water, apple and granola bar. Very disappointing since all the other BWs we had stayed at had nice hot/cold breakfast buffets.

« I have been stopping at this motel for 29 years. »

It's always phenomenal. Perhaps this isn't helpful to a reader of this review. Stay there and you will understand why I go back whenever I am passing through Ogden. I highly recommend this motel and always suggest it to my friends and family if I know they will be anywhere near SLC. Try the restaurant, too. The menu is wonderful and the prices are refreshing.

    4
    « Very good »

Comfortable and trouble free stay. Staff was very nice and always asked if they could do anything more. Breakfast was not very exciting but it was what we were expecting. Always difficult to tell if eggs are or artificial

    5
« Amenities and room furnishings are comparable with other similar priced hotels. »

It was late at night and I had no reservations after pressing on in a rain storm throughout Idaho and northern Utah. With a friendly smile from the desk receptionist, I got the last room. This motel is relatively new and the room was very comfortable and clean. No odd odors were present. I need a firm mattress and give the motel high marks for this. My only negative comment is the lack of a USB charging port on the bedside lamp table. The buffet breakfast is nice and hot with everything one would expect in a Hampton, Holiday Express or Comfort Inn. This motel has a relatively convenient location from the interstate, though the entry is easy to miss, as it comes up immediately to the right after leaving the south bound off ramp.

    3
« I love Best Western but this was not one of the best »

first off, they don't offer the typical breakfast that you find with Best Westerns - they claim the restaurant on site is an "award winning" place that they don't want to compete. so they give you an apple and a granola bar -- room was clean, bed was fine, just not up to the quality of many other Best Westerns I've stayed at

    5
« Best Place To Stay »

This place is amazing!!! Great staff and the grounds are the best we have ever been to the lawn is immaculate and the fish pond and waterfall is so peaceful. The rooms are superb and the bed is so comfy.

    4
    « Nice, clean »

The hotel is in a good location. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. The price was very good. The front desk agent was friendly and professional. I would stay at this property again.

    5
    « Awesome Staff »

I would like to thank Stephanie (the manager) for accommodating us to a King room on the ground level as fast as she did. We really appreciated all her help and she even went above and beyond and sent me Charlie to help with all of our stuff. He also went above and beyond for us as well. Thank you both for your great customer service and all the staff. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Thanks again for being so great to us. The Corey's

    5
« Great place to stay »

We were towing a large flat bed trailer and this hotel has a great location in their lot for parking easily. The rooms are clean and the staff very helpful. We have stayed here several times and plan to stay again in the future. There is a Jeremiah's restaurant in the same parking lot with decent food, what could be more convenient when towing a large trailer? No need to go out looking for food. :)

    1
« Right next to noisy train tracks »

Trains blew their horns LOUDLY every hour. We couldn't sleep. The garden was nice and the hotel was nice but the point of the hotel was to SLEEP. Would never stay there again. And there wasn't breakfast.

    « Not as expected »

Not the standard quality that one usually finds at BW in reference to service. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Although advertised as a " Plus" property, there is nothing plus about it. There is no breakfast offered, other than a a stale piece of fruit, tiny granola bar and a small bottle of water, which one would find at other BW Plus properties, the front desk person (Stephanie) was rude to not only me but to others in our group. There is a restaurant across the parking lot but be prepared for a long wait and an inept wait staff. Typical truck stop food, edible but of poor quality. Jerimiah's) When I return to Ogden with my youth sports teams, we will be staying at a different property.

« Not what we were expecting »

Spent 2 nights at this hotel recently. Check-in went good with fresh chocolate chip cookies. We were assigned a ground floor room that we had requested as we have a service dog in training. The room we were assigned had a stripped door handle. Once we were able to get into the room, we called the front desk and reported the problem. Maintenance immediately came by and informed us that a replacement part would take several days to get and suggested pulling up on the handle for the duration of our stay. The room was clean with a large grassy park across the parking lot. The area was great for walking leashed dogs with paths and a koi pond. There is a very busy restaurant on the premises. Good breakfast with lots of food and reasonably priced (we waited until about 10 am to go there as the place is very popular with the locals). The hotel itself only offers coffee and various drinks for breakfast as they encourage you to use the restaurant. We were offered a grab and go bag when we were checking out, but would have appreciated having some muffins available as we're light breakfast eaters early in the morning. Had a small issue during checkout. They had added a pet fee to our bill. I questioned the charge and informed the young lady that having spent numerous nights at Best Western's across the country the pet fee was always waived since the pup was a service dog in training. She let me know that each BW was independently owned and each had there own policies and she had never heard of a service dog in training (guess she figured service dogs were borned fully trained and mature). After explaining to her our mission and showing her our identification card from Canine Companions for Independence she reluctantly waived the fees, which we appreciated. We chose this location because of it's close proximity to the puppy training classes we were attending, but might look more closely next time we're passing through.

Could not sleep due to terrible noises from upstairs plumbing. Sounded like a jet above your head at 3 AM Plus children running and screaming Paid $ 130 for headache Make sure before you go to bed it's a quiet one

    « There Isn't Actually a Hot Tub »

I usually do a lot of research before I select a hotel, so my reviews are almost always positive when my expectations of a property are met. My expectations here were not met. We selected this hotel SPECIFICALLY because it had a hot tub and we were weary hikers at the tail end of a road trip. Well, the hot tub is now a fitness center (wahp-wahp). Truth in advertising would be fantastic - Best Western, take "hot tub" off of your amenities list! I immediately asked what could be done - upgrade to a room with a jetted tub, discount on the bill... to not avail. "Well, we have a pool..." - great. (We stayed anyway, given that it was 9PM and we'd paid online already). The room itself was fine - clean, stocked, spacious. The only really weird thing was the little entry area was ridiculously Pledged (the furniture polish) and so we both fell (yes, two young, able-bodied athletic-types fell over because we didn't expect the entry to be like an ice skating rink). So that was weird. The desk and coffee table were also reeeally Pledged and my DSLR camera nearly fell off. Oh my! I mean, I guess the room was super clean?!? *insert laughing-crying emoji* We laughed about it. The beds were not fantastic nor were they bad - they were budget quality. I like mine softer, but that's ok. There's no breakfast here - they have little to-go snack bags instead. However, their selection of 24/7 coffee offerings was quite impressive... flavored cappuccinos and such, and all kinds of extras. The "lobby" of the hotel is really cute, with wood beams and a fireplace I think. There's a gift shop and areas to hang out and drink said coffee. I'm just really annoyed about the hot tub situation, so, I'm sorry BW High Country, but you get only 3 stars.

    « Comfortable Night »

After a long day on the road, we had a comfortable night in this clean establishment. The staff was friendly, but didn't quite get the restaurant hours correct when we checked in so we were too early for breakfast the next day. Our room was great and amazingly quiet for being so close to the parking lot. We would stay here again if in the area.

« The "BEST" Best Western Hotel we have have stayed. »

This Best Western Plus has a giant sized park for your pets. The Hotel is situated so close to the freeway and there are restaurants galore. I will gladly recommend this specific Hotel to anyone traveling thru Utah.

    1
« Keep your expectations low »

Upgraded to a Suite and it turned out it didn't have a fridge or microwave and the "jetted" tub was broke so it's basically just a large bathtub. If you have to stay somewhere in Ogden and this is the last place you can find, get a standard room and keep your expectations low

« Stayed before. Stayed this time. Will stay again. »

Hotel was nice. Staff very nice. Room comfortable. Restaurant across the parking lot was/is amazing. Rooms open to parking lot. Seems to be in a very busy area so rooms may fill up.Did not use the hot tub/pool. Only negative is that the hotel is a little older so you can hear the upstairs folks walking around and when the fans in the bathroom are on it can get a bit loud.

    « Touring The West »

Over the past 20 days now we've been traveling/touring the Wild West, we have stayed in numerous hotels(other than BWs) and the service, quality of the rooms have varied so much, but what we have found is that for the price from the other hotels to those of the BWs, it's been hard to beat. BUT ONE THING THEY HAVE IN COMMON, WHEN AROUND A NATIONAL PARK OR SPECICAL EVENTS GOING ON IN THAT AREA - "THEY ALL JACK UP THE PRICE".

    « Lovely place »

Friendly and competent staff;nice pool; clean room, comfortable bed. A gorgeous oriental type park behind the property--lovely for recuperating after a long drive. Pet friendly. This Best Western does not offer breakfast. There is a restaurant across the parking lot that serves pretty good food but is a little pricey

« Absolutely best in the area »

Excellent service. Great room and great for pets. Only thing missing is the onsite breakfast but they have to go snack bags. Will plan to stop again in our travels. Night manager was phenomenal and very helpful

    « Ogden best western »

Great hotel to stay at with dogs. Beautiful grounds and convenient location. The restaurant on site was ideal after spending a long day on the road. Very friendly staff. There is a train nearby, but that didn't bother us.

    « A good night's sleep »

Extremely friendly and present front desk staff and a very impressive lobby. Rooms were OK, allowed for a good night after a long day driving. Very nice park in rear of facility, good for walking, good place to let the dog run.

    « BW Ogden »

It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. As my trip was a transit from Denver to Seattle I only stayed for one night; however, if I were to have to stay longer term I would certainly pick this hotel. It was a very pleasant experience and I look forward to the opportunity to stay there again.

    3
« Basic no frills hotel »

Basic hotel. The beds were firm and the room was clean. I was disappointed I was told there was breakfast but what it was, was more of a snack bag to go. I didn't really stay long here only over night as I was passing through. The breakfast in the restaurant in parking lot was affordable and lots of food.

« Don't miss the beautiful dog friendly park. »

I brought various family members from California and rented four rooms at this motel. We were all different ages and backgrounds. Everyone loved their accommodations and the restaurant. What was surprising was to discover a very large private park directly behind the motel. It is beautifully landscaped and includes a very, very large Koi pond and paved path ways. Dogs belonging to motel guests were welcome.

    « Enjoyed our stay »

Very nice room, very comfortable.Disappointed that there is no restaurant, but happy that a restaurant was in walking distance. Enjoyed the coffee bar, free newspapers and the Grab and Go bags. The staff was very helpful, eager to please. Also the room was very quiet, didn't hear the other guests moving about. Entries to the rooms might be better, though. My handicapped husband had difficulties walking through the stones to get to the room.

« One night quick stop »

Good hotel and location for quick over night stop on the way up to Yellowstone. Don't expect breakfast, but the restaurant next door is excellent for breakfast. Very easy on/off for the highway and a good quality BW. Hotel lobby is nicely decorated. Price is good. Grab and go breakfast snacks offered by hotel but ask for it. Near highway but quiet.

    4
    « Staff is friendly »

It's an older but cozy property. I drove the 35 miles from Salt Lake City because it was $60 cheaper on a Friday night. I would give it 3 stars, everything worked with a new tv, room was on the small side but ok with a mini refrigerator and comfortable bed in a clean room.

« Not bad but could be better »

This was a lucky break for me since all hotels were booked along Interstate 15 for the great eclipse. A clerk at a nearby Holiday Inn checked Hotels.com and told me of an opening at the Best Western, just at the next off ramp. The room was ok. It was clean and comfortable. Internet was fine. Mattresses, towels, carpet, et al did not show wear patterns. The breakfast could be greatly improved, since it was a grab and go consisting of only a fruit, water and granola bar. A hot item and juices would be better. A sit down area would be better also. Overall, the hotel was very good.

    5
« The Ecliipse was only PART of it »

I stayed at at Best Western In Ogden, 200 miles from the eclipse, because the rates were so much better. I was impressed beyond my expectations by the beauty of the grounds and the amenities. My room faced a spacious lawn and garden, with a beautiful pond and waterfall. A freight train would amble by from time to time. From LA to this was like night and day! The fitness room had more machines than you usually see in a hotel, and the restaurant, Jeremiah's, was a stopping ground for locals...not just at "hotel" restaurant. I have only good things to say.

    4
    « Dog Friendly! »

We stayed here on the way to the eclipse and on the way back. The rooms aren't large, but big enough, and everything worked as it should. The attraction for us was the gigantic on-leash dog-walking area adjacent to the hotel. At least a couple of acres of grass and a koi pond kept the dog entertained. Take a few quarters for fish food to feed the koi. Food at Jeremiah's was just okay.

    2
    « leisure »

room was not cleaned after first night...requested wake up call due to difficulty adjusting clock--did not get one...twelve sharp edges on various furniture in room--received injury...both room keys inoperable after first night--both of which were kept separately from each other...not breakfast other than an orange & granola bar--formerly guests were given a food voucher for nearby restaurant.

    3
« It was okay, ask about the door knobs! »

My wife and I were here for one night on our eclipse trip. Friendly staff. Room was fine. No breakfast, but they had grab and go bags (fruit, water, granola bar). Nice looking pool (but didn't use). The door knob didn't work well... Was sticking. Had to do several (like 6) very very hard pulls. . Went to the office and told them it needed attention. She explained to me that I needed to pull the handle 'up'. Okay... I suggested that they should tell guests about this on check in. She responded that various of the doors are different - some up and some down. I was going to suggest that it was still worth mentioning it, but it was pretty clear the desk clerk wasn't really interested... They also made a big deal about the hotel restaurant - Jeremiah's. Maybe it has awesome breakfasts, but dinner was really marginal. I don't understand the strong ratings.

« Lovely hotel, shame to be staying only 1 night »

Booked double room with sofa bed. Even with the (double sized) sofa bed extended this room is huge & spacious. Very comfortable and clean room. No continental breakfast, but hot drinks & a 'grab & go' bag (water/fruit/granola bar) provided. On site restaurant (Jeremiah's) offers great range of good food at good prices ($70 for meal & drinks for 4). Would fully recommend staying here- I'm very pleased to have chosen this hotel & it's a shame to have stayed only 1 night on our road trip.

    5
« Quick turn around trip »

I actually booked this hotel through priceline.com as a three star option. The room was nice, had a cute little couch and a bench. The fixtures were updated. We didn't take advantage of the free breakfast or the pool but I did get a complimentary newspaper. I would stay here again.

    « Pleasantly surprised! »

Stayed for a couple of nights with my family including two dogs. Room was nice and clean. Bed could be a little more comfortable. Best part of the stay was the dog park directly across our room. Hands down the best dog park at any Best Western we've stayed in. Ladies at the front desk could be friendlier, after all, they're the first impression a guest encounters.

    5
    « Enjoyable stay »

I really enjoyed my stay at this place. The back area is fantastic, and the room was clean and bed was comfy. I'll be back if I ever come back to this area. Great breakfast. Staff was friendly and front desk very helpful.

    « Great Stay »

Quick and easy check in. Nice clean place to stay. Perfect location for basic needs for travel. Nice pool and quiet place with good ample parking for everyone's needs. No problem with check out and great grab and go breakfast for everyone in your party. Plus options of hot coffee, cocoa or tea and water to go.

« Check your bed sheets!!! »

Check your bed sheets!!!!!! Ours had body hair all over them meaning they were clearly not changed. This is one of the most unacceptable things you can do.... makes you wonder what else they don't clean.

    « Service needs improvement »

The hotel overall was okay, nice area. The service for check-in was not great. Not very friendly. We were first told there were no rooms available, but when we asked where there was another hotel, they suddenly had a room. Over priced compared other Best Westerns.

« Uniquely charming, plus dog friendly! »

We loved the mountain lodge theme and the huge park-like grounds and pond behind the hotel. Good rates, comfy beds and Jeremiah's restaurant next door delivered a hot and delicious dinner. Wish I could go back.

    « weekend visit »

I traveled to Ogden July 21-July 23 to visit my son and his family. I had made reservations so check in was smooth and fast. My room was a suite with separate sitting and bedroom located on the back of the property on the second floor. I believe it is the only room of this size on the property. there was both stairway and elevator access. Everything was clean and fresh smelling. the carpet and furniture seemed to be relatively new. they had taken 2 regular size rooms and turned them into one nice sized suite. I had a small refrigerator and a microwave and free Wi-Fi. the 2 below window a/c units were efficient. the temp that weekend was in the mid 90's each day. the back of the property overlooked a small park with walking trail and a pond. I was able to park at the base of the stairway directly in front of my room. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and did a good job. DOWNSIDE: the computer in the lobby for guest usage was ridiculously slow. if you want to check in for your flight and print your boarding pass using this computer, allow about 45 minutes time to do so. the front desk staff could act a little more personable. both interactions I had with the front desk was pretty dry. they were very efficient and professional, but maybe a little weak making people feel welcome and appreciated. my only complaint about the room...the toilet...for the type room it was, I think they could have spent just a very few dollars more and upgraded the toilet. it was slow to flush, although it did flush, you had to hold the handle down for a few seconds. also, the toilet seat was as cheap as you can buy and was not a good fit. when you sat down, it wiggled. just not something I expected from the room. I will stay here again on my next visit and will request the same room. overall a good experience, but...with a little improvement could have been better.

« Park some place else! »

The hotel was fine. The fact that we couldn't park by our room because a phantom group was to arrive before we left and needed the spaces (which didn't occur) really burned me. It was a Monday evening and very few travelers were there, so the issue was a non issue if somebody had some common sense!

    « Review »

Overall we enjoyed visiting with family, but the motel itself was not what we hope when we stay at Best Western. I had stayed here a few years ago, for a night and had no issues, but with a 3 night 4 day stay, I was a bit disappointed.

    2
« Good rooms, but overpriced with a side of front desk ew »

It was ok. I honestly don't think it deserves a plus rating considering it met the bare minimum requirements for being a hotel room. The evening staff could have been better--the old woman was rude and the younger blond working with her was picking her teeth while talking with me--who does that?? Overall, not terrible, but I'd mark it as overpriced considering it simply meets the bar and goes not further than that.

    1
« Terrible place to stay, do not care if your stay is good »

Beautiful place, but employees do not care about your visit. The front desk clerk was rude from the beginning when I asked for a place to get a cold drink and something to eat at check in. We found someplace on our own, 2 miles from motel which she should have known, not Pilot truck stop or 7-11 as she suggested .There was water running either upstairs or in room next door, listened to it all night, front desk lady did not want to fix, or look into. Neither of us got any sleep and I mean none. We didn't know if ceiling was going to drip water on us, or we would wake up to a flood. All night the water could be heard, her response was "are you sure it is not coming from upstairs", which I am now thinking is a recycle water service and she knew about it, for the 2nd time I called at 12:40 she didn't answer the phone. The maid knocked 5 times after being informed when we would be leaving. It was rude, for we couldn't get dressed for her. The front desk service was the same person at night and in the am. She had no desire to wait on anyone. When we were checking in, another guest came and told her the unit she gave them had someone in there and her response was "are you sure". The lady said yes their items, suitcases etc are in there. Rather than finish waiting on us, she started helping the other customer with the response, "well I guess I can move you". When we checked out, she made no attempt to ask how how stay was or nothing, even with the phone call I had made first thing in the am to state the water was still running. She had nothing to say about the issue, she totally ignored what I called about. I will never stay here again, nor will I suggest staying here to anyone.

« Family stay travelling from Salt Lake City »

Very nice motel style place to stay. Rooms are relaxing, clean, comfy beds. Air conditioning worked very well and not overly noisy. Entire hotel including laundry room is nice and clean. Best part is beautiful small park like area beside hotel. Well maintained, walking path, bridge over fish pond. We loved feeding the fish, and sitting on the large public walkway/balcony overlooking the green space. Jeremiahs restaurant in the same parking lot is excellent!! Didn't hear the train at all from room 230 (on the north side of the hotel). Very reasonable rate too. Definitely will stay here again.

« Rating the Ogden Best Western »

The hotel was very nice, staff extremely friendly and helpful. The toilet paper needs to be upgraded. This BW did not offer breakfast but gave us "To go bags" which contained a very usefull bottled water.

    « Beautiful surroundings »

Beautiful surroundings and peaceful place to stay. They always had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby. They do not offer breakfast. They do have coffee and lattes and in the morning they give you a "snack-go" bag which contains a granola bar and orange. In the same parking lot they have a very nice family Restaurant/bar opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is very good!

    « Peaceful night sleep »

Western stayed at the BW Plus High Country Inn after driving 10+ hours from Lewiston, ID, where we were visiting my wife's family. The appearance of the Inn is like a ski chalet. The extra park in the back with a paved walk, and a pOnda with Koi fish swimming around, was very peaceful and much needed after a long haul!

« Great hotel, with friendly helping staff »

Enjoyed our trip To Utah and Best Western was a great hotel. A clean facility with a friendly helpful staff. Nice outdoor pool for the kiddos to burn energy in! All in all a great experience! And my bed was on believably comfortable!!!!

    « Disappointment & MOTEL feel »

Definitely a cheap MOTEL feel without continental breakfast. The room rate was offered for the same price as a nicer Hotel. The rooms were small, beds really small, and it difficult to sleep . The environment was a poor try of remodeling a Motel 6. Disappointed that this location had the Best Western name associated with the Inn.

    5
« Quiet, Clean and Comfortable »

The staff was so caring and helpful. The room was nice and clean and a comfortable bed and everything that we have come to expect from BW. I will definitely stay there again. We were road weary and this BW property was just what we needed.

    4
    « Beautiful grounds »

The best parklike grounds to stroll on, even has a large koi fish pond. No hot breakfast, restaurant with room service next door. Rooms are so so. Expensive compared to comparable room elsewhere. We traveled over 4000 miles staying in motels, so think we know about prices. They are pet friendly and we appreciated that Clean. Tiniest commode and tub ever. They must be for a camper. A large person might want to check their rooms bathroom before staying. Ours was awful.

    5
« Very clean resort and beautiful grounds »

We stayed one night traveling through Ogden. It was easy to find and was very surprised at the back pond and waterfall. It was a pleasant surprise after a hot motorcycle ride. The covered patio overlooks the back park and the rooms were very clean, roomy and nicely decorated. I will definitely come back.

    « Wedding »

Great location for my purpose. The front desk personnel went out of their way to allow me a very late check out so I had a place to finalize getting ready for my son's wedding! The beds were very high quality. Great night sleep before the wedding the next day!

    3
    « Mediocre at best »

Too High Priced for the quality of room Air conditioner was very noisy and the hot water was Luke warm at best. This is the most I ever paid for a Best western hotel and probably was not worth the money,

    « Nice hotel »

The rooms are very nice. There's a big fridge and microwave. The staff is pleasant. The only problems we had- the toilet would rock every time it was sat on, needs to be fixed. Also, the first day- the room was nice and clean. But we stayed 4 days and after the first day, they didn't really clean the room or add to the toiletries we had used. The bed was made, that was about it. The floor was never vacuumed. But overall, it was a nice place to stay.

    4
    « very small pool »

The hotel is more couple and dog friendly than family friendly. Pool is outdoors and very small and no hot tub. We liked it because it was close by several restaurants and the Salomon center which has lots of activities.

    4
« A little dated but still good »

This hotel is a little older and needed some minor touch up but it was still a good place to stay. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. No breakfast to speak of but we were leaving early as we had a long day ahead of us and their is a restaurant on the property.

The Staff was extremely nice & friendly. The lobby & room were very nice.. However, the shower needs a lot of help. I was either getting scalded or frozen. There was no in between. When I informed the front desk, they were very apologetic, but the issue was not fixed. nor was there an offer to change rooms. . I ended up showering at a friends house. I will stay at this hotel again, but only if they fix the water heater issue. I will definitely be confirming prior to making reservations.

« Cat Friendly in Ogden »

We spent the night in Ogden on our move to Seattle in May. We ended up at the Best Western since it was one of only a couple hotels in the Ogden/Layton area that was cat friendly. The hotel is right near the freeway and close to nearby gas stations. In addition, there was a restaurant on site that sold typical comfort foods. We actually ended up arriving well before check-in time but were able to get a room right away. The staff we encountered were friendly when we checked in and out. In the morning, the hotel provides a breakfast bag to go (fruit, water, granola bar). The hotel has all outside entrances, which was super convenient when unpacking and repacking the car. We were incredibly surprised by the room, and truthfully this is one of the nicest Best Western Hotels I've stayed in. The room has a mission style vibe and looks to be recently remodeled. Truthfully the rooms had a similar feel to the Grand Californian Hotel (one of my top favorite hotels). All the furniture was in top condition and the room was extremely clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable as well. We did have an incident during our stay, which unfortunately is why I can't give 5-Stars for my review. After a few hours in our room someone was at our hotel room door trying to get in. All of a sudden, they open the door and start to walk right in. Once they realize their mistake they quickly exit. We then call the front desk to find out they mistakenly gave our room number and a set of keys to someone checking in. About 20-minutes later the front desk sent someone over with a new set of keys. We did receive an apology over the phone and from the person who delivered the keys. Mistakes do happen but this definitely was concerning.

« The best Best Western I've ever stayed at! »

What a wonderful Best Western Hotel. Yes, It has this delightful park like setting in the back of the property. You can walk along a paved trail by a large fish pond. After driving all day what a wonderful way to relay and unwind. I'm pleased to say that it is pet friendly. I didn't care for the train sound at night but that would not deter me from staying there again. The hotel is well cared for and decorated with mission furniture and a comfortable western style decorations. Very nice place to stay!

« Beautiful setting, welcoming staff. »

This BW is better than most we encountered in our 3 week trip across country. Very engaging front desk staff. Pleasant, friendly, welcoming with the warm cookies, helpful dinner recommendations, quick check-in, appropriately priced accommodations. Although on a busy street, the facility is set back from the road. We had a room in the rear of the building which had a magnificent view of the pond, grassy areas, and snow-capped mountains.

« Clean, comfortable, quiet night. Friendly front desk. »

Clean, comfortable room. Even though the rooms all open to the outside, I had a quiet night with no disruptions at all. Lady at the front desk was great with my late check in. She was busy working alone and it seemed like a big party had just checked in before me, but she was friendly, courteous and fast. Jeremiah's is great for breakfast just across the parking lot. There's a well kept park next to the hotel - wasn't sure if it was part of the hotel or not, but it felt like a private park. My mini fridge wasn't working, but that was the only issue. I look forward to staying here again.

    « A nice respite »

We often travel with our dog, so we appreciate this dog friendly motel. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are comfortable. The restaurant is convenient and offers good comfort food. The staff is friendly; the desk personnel at check in and check out were positive, professional, personable, and proud to work at this Best Western.

    « Just ok »

The rooms all have doors that open outside . There was noise even with a room in the back . So I did not slept well., which I normally do not have a problem . But I am not big on hotels with the door to the room opening to the outside. There is no breakfast which is not a standard for best western. They will give you a grab bag in the morning that has a bottle of water , bar and piece of fruit. They do have apples, coffee , water, tea and a hot choc etc in the lobby 24 hours a day. The front desk was fine. The room have a coffee maker, fridge and microwave . I would not put this hotel on my list of places to return to, if I am in the area.

« Location, large park area and clean! »

This hotel is located right off the highway but is quiet and clean. The rooms are good sized with two queens plus a little more space. A big plus is that it is pet friendly and there is a large grassy park with a good sized koi pond with a waterfall and small walking trail located behind the hotel. Relaxing and pretty! Coffee is available in the morning and a grab and go breakfast with a piece of fruit, granola bar and bottle of water to take on the road. Not bad for the price!

Clean room, very comfortable. Best Western is almost always reliable with cleanliness and larger than average, comfortable spaces. This hotel has an amazing park behind it, just for guests. Lovely, large koi pond with waterfall, bridge, glider benches, and paved walkway around pond and very large grass areas. Such a wonderful surprise to find that private bit of wilderness. Just off the interstate but only 5 minutes from downtown Ogden. After a miserable stay at the historic but badly-remodeled Ben Lomond hotel downtown, I was grateful to find this hotel.

    « I give this 2 star motel 3 stars »

It's a convenient location. I typically prefer a hotel: safer, cleaner, higher quality. But I got this place on a Priceline bid and I am not disappointed at all. It's safe, clean, and of a quality that displays pride of ownership and caring about customer experience. The employees are well trained and have a keen service orientation. The restaurant on property is full service and good home cooking.

« All Queens not created equal, we thought ours was a double after the nice Queen size in Winnemuca. »

No breakfast, pathetic coffee service (I expect a real dairy product not chemical crap for my coffee). Grab and go offered...water and a granola bar. Nice park in back with koi pond. Basically not impressed with place, fortunately don't plan on passing this way again.

« Best place to stay in Ogden »

Best priced best location easy access from freeway and the food was phenomenal.. also polite service Speedy checking in and checking out beautiful scenery wonderful place to be married !!!! nowhere else better to stay in Ogden Utah....

« Good place to stay »

Very friendly and accommodating staff at check in and check out. We needed a ground floor room because my wife was in a wheel chair. The ladies at check in made it happen for us. There were also many people checking in at the same time and they were very fast at assigning rooms. No long waits. One of the best check in experiences I have had in quite some time.

« Nice Hotel with a Beautiful Park Behind It »

We stayed here for one night and loved it. The room was really nice and clean. Staff members were friendly. They had a beautiful "public park" behind the hotel that was part of the hotel's grounds. A large area of well maintained grass, a big koi pond and two waterfalls. It was nicer than a lot of city parks. I wish more hotels had that. And the restaurant in the parking lot was good too.

    4
    « Great stopover »

The hotel is conveniently located off the highway. The complex is well maintained and clean. The rooms are spacious enough. The bathroom is relatively small with a separate sink in the room. The shower in the bathtub is elevated which is a big plus if you are relatively tall. The hotel does not serve breakfast. The Jeremia's restaurant adjacent to the hotel is an excellent alternative. Excellent prize quality ratio.

    3
« Not Really a Best Western Plus Hote »

Pool Not operation and fence was falling down, No breakfast offered. When I asked about it I was told they did not need to offer breakfast because they had a restaurant on property. No Microwave in room. I would not put this property on the same level of other Best Western Plus properties I have stayed at

    « Great Stay »

This is a fantastic hotel. I've had to drive from Seattle to Dallas four time in the past 24 months and have stayed here on every drive. Great place to bring a pet. They have a great park with a walking trail and pond.

    3
« Poor sleep, poor value »

Beautiful park as part of hotel (around back). Poor HVAC creaky ceiling resulted in little sleep. Very few options at that exit for food or other. Brown bag: water, price of fruit and small granola bar for breakfast misses the mark in what many hotels now offer.

« Week after selling our house »

Stayed for six days after selling our house. Room was very nice. We had lots of visitors. Ground floor room close to the office. The food at the near by restaurant was average. Excellent access from I-15.

    3
« Comfortable and freeway close! »

The facility reminded me of a few motor lodge type hotels I stayed at near the Grand Canyon about 20 years ago. It was an extremely comfortable feeling about the place - like a guest room at a relative's house. My only negative feedback was 'breakfast'. Coffee was plentiful and delicious but the only food option was something they called 'grab and go' which consisted of a brown paper bag that contained an apple, a granola bar, and a bottle of water. For $150 a night I had hoped for something hot and with more protein.

    « BW Ogden Utah »

This BW is fine for a one night stop over. Room was clean however the bathroom shower drain was very slow resulting in water up to our ankles at the end of the shower. Don't plan on the ususal continental breakfast - this hotel provides a 'to-go' breakfast which is a small grannola bar, a piece of fruit and a bottle of water. There is a restura;unt accross the parking lot but if you don't have a lot of time it's not a great option. There is a GREAT park though that connectds to the property which was a great way to unwind after a long drive.

    3
« Average but great pet stay »

Biggest draw for this motel is the 5 acres of well maintained green area behind the building. Great exercise area for your pet and there are doggie litter bags provided.... and it appears people use them which is nice.

    4
« Nice place to stop »

We loved this place. The people were really friendly. We got in late and they helped us find food for dinner. Their was a great place to walk the dog. Beautiful park setting. Comfortable beds. Only thing we were kind of disappointed in was the one breakfast. They handed us a brown bag with a granola bar, apple and a bottle of water. Seemed kind of weird.

    4
« Nice stop before metropolitan area »

Quiet for being close to the freeway, and very nice grounds to walk out back. With fish ponds and benches. Jeremiah restaurant next door is very good. The spa tub felt great, only down side is hot breakfast not included.

    5
    « Comfortable Stay »

We were pleased with our room and bed at this Best Western. It was comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed the free cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby. We also appreciated that parking was not a problem as it can be at some hotels.

    4
    « Cross Country trip »

Stopped here on my way from Oregon and Nebraska en route to New York. Comfortable bed and clean room, not far from Salt Lake. Nice breakfast-to-go bag. Friendly attentive staff, and an impressive lobby.

« Nice room, no breakfast »

The room was very clean, appealing décor and comfortable for the 2 of us. We were able to park directly in front of our room, which was nice. Breakfast was a "grab and go" bag that had a bottle of water an orange and a granola bar. We took the water.

    3
    « Normally stay here »

We always stay here every spring and the staff has always been cheerful, maybe this was a hard day as they just seemed tired. We went for the restaurant and this time service was so slow and a rare steak was served well done with little care. Not sure if we will return.

    5
    « pet friendly »

we love this BW for it's great park and friendliness when travelling with pets. It may our stay so enjoyable and we got a better rest after a long day of travelling. great restaurant adjacent to the hotel.

    « passing through ogden »

the hotel is very good, close to the interstate I15, lots of parking close to your room, pet friendly, very clean, good internet, has a restaurant on the property which serves excellent meals.Staff is very friendly,

« Late night driving break »

Used OnStar to book the stay and had not looked into the hotel personally. We needed sleep and they allowed pets so we stopped. There was a cup of water left in the mirror from a previous visitor and there were dust bunnies behind the bathroom room door. Wasn't that impressed with the room but the landscape was beautiful.

    5
    « Such a pleasant surprise »

The rooms in this updated motel are large, comfortable, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. But what puts it over the top is the landscaped walking area that is part of the motel property--expansive, beautifully landscaped walking loops around a fish pond and hills which, when we visited, were abloom with daffodils. Such a welcome break after a day on the road! The on-site restaurant is also very good. Add in the friendly, welcoming staff, and this place can't be beat if you are traveling through Odgen! They are working on a new building to provide breakfast. In the meantime, we got a completely adequate to-go bag with fresh fruit, granola bars, and water.

    2
« Care more about money than the guest »

We've stayed here since 1990 and it has steadily declined in all aspects. This visit, the drain in the sink did not hold water, there was a dirty used bandage on the night stand in full view, there were 8-10 rowdy intoxicated people outside our room for hours, and the front desk would not answer the phone which I hung up after 30 rings.

    5
    « Great Hotel »

Room & lobby were very clean. A great value. Fitness center was great. no breakfast. i would definitely stay there again. The room was relatively quiet. occasionally heard the other guests but not too loud. Occasionally heard the highway out front but not too bad.

    2
« Best Western Plus High Country Inn »

The toilet was big enough for a preschooler and too close to the ground for an adult to use. The coffee pot was missing the part that holds the coffee grounds, the electrical outlet by the sink wasn't working so there was no night light or the hairdryer had to be used away from the mirror. The tv had been fooled with so staff had to come to fix it.

    3
    « Snow bird travel »

I have stayed at this hotel several times in past five years. I have used Best Western for several years but are finding them less attractive due to cheaping out on value for money spent. Most do not include a breakfast including this place but there is an excellent restaurant on the property. I would like to see a basic breakfast offered with a room rented. ie bacon and eggs or cereal and coffee. I believe that this hotel could be sold out if they offered amenities to snow birds like an incentive like a breakfast or special price. We got two water bottles when we checked in and appreciated that but would liked to have a basic breakfast with our stay. Enjoyed the good bed.

  • 2
« Staff is horrible, heaters are worse »

The check in staff at this location is lazy, slow, eats while checking in, and actually refused a diamond select member a water upon check in. She will not even stand to hand you your paper. You have to reach to her as she has her food speed all over the counter. The heaters are OLD and impossible to regulate. They are loud and will keep you up if you are at all sensitive to noise.

    4
« Good Best Western - Currently under construction »

Good hotel for overnight after long day of driving. Rooms have been recently updated and there is still construction going on in the fitness center area. No breakfast included in the room rate. Skip the hotel restaurant next door for dinner - it was very disappointing!

    4
    « Great Surprise »

We were driving late at night and could finally drive no further so we just jumped off the freeway and stayed here knowing nothing of the hotel. We were greatly surprised at all they have done to make this older property very nice. The restaurant, Jeremiah's, is excellent for breakfast. Great food all homemade. The lobby and rooms were clean and nice and the beds were very comfortable. The pool is outside and very small. It was covered and closed for the season so we didn't use it. No hot tub. I would stay here again.

    3
« IT's OK, but no breakfast included »

it was clean, quiet with small screen TV's. But with the Best Western Plus there usually is some type of breakfast this one didn't have that and only said that they had a restaurant on site but we had to pay for breakfast. I thought all Best Westerns included breakfast.

    5
    « Feed the Fishes!! »

The lobby in this hotel has amazing ambiance! The room felt like a resort, almost like I was staying at the Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disneyworld! They have a koi pond that my dad would have flipped out for! Beautiful venue for a wedding...but the grandkids (2 and 4) enjoyed it just as much because there was a coin-operated fish food dispenser and they LOVED feeding the fish! We accidentally left the 4-year-old's favorite blanket and lost a good hour driving back to retrieve it. The housekeeper didn't speak English but she understood exactly why I came back. She walked me to the laundry room and showed me what I was looking for. Yeah, not much in the form of breakfast (juice, coffee, apples), but AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE from check-in to long after check-out!!

    3
« Best Western High Country Inn - Ogden »

Bathroom shower was dirty. Bathroom door was splattered with brown yuck. (hopefully not excrement) Toilet paper holder was disgusting. There were crumbs on the floor between the two beds. I have stayed at this hotel many times. This was the first bad time. Also walked outside in the morning to find several police cars by the restaurant.

    2
    « NO BREAKFAST!!! »

I'm not sure what exactly qualifies this property as a Best Western Plus, BUT I have never stayed at one that did not serve a breakfast. Also, the coffee and tea service did not have any fresh milk or half and half. Only artificial non-dairy creamers. Blech. Blech. Blech. The spa was tiny. Pretty clean....no where to put your towel, unless putting it on the WET, cooty floor works for you. You had to leave the warmth of the spa and walk all the way across the exercise room dripping and freezing by the time you got to the towels. The dressing rooms also lacked warmth. The rooms are just slightly upgraded motel rooms. Small, and certainly not worth the value for the money.

    3
    « No Breakfast »

We didn't like the idea that the door to our room was open when we first arrived. Killed approximately 15 flies in room with a wet towel. It would have better if breakfast had been complementary. Reported room dissatisfaction when we checked out,

    5
« Wonderful place for dogs! »

This was a nice place to stay but it was especially great for our dog. The park has a nice pond...and you can feed the fish...it was very large and roomy. We have a standard poodle so it was very nice for him.

    5
« Overnight Pit Stop with Pets »

Great place to stay with pets!!! While travelling from Southern California to North Dakota through some significant weather with two full grown Labrador retrievers, the High Country Inn was like the stable at Bethlehem for Mary and Joseph. In other words, an oasis for the weary!

    « Nice enviroment »

Very nice motel, not as clean as I would have expected for the price. I do not like to see hair, and black tile grout. But all in all it was a pleasant stay. If you can, eat at the restaurant, very good food.

    3
    « Caught in a Severe Storm »

While driving through the area we arrived at the Best Western during a severe thunderstorm affecting the entire area. Many tourists had stopped for the evening. The front desk clerk was very nice and efficient but rather overwhelmed with the situation. Someone should have stepped in to help her with all the guests seeking information. We checked into a king room which was clean and comfortable. The bed linens were clean although they were thin. The motel is older with an outdoor pool and small indoor hot tub. There was a fitness center and nice laundry facilities. On the premises was a family style restaurant which was very crowded. The food was good and the prices reasonable. No breakfast bar is provided other than coffee and a piece of fruit. The price seemed rather high considering no indoor pool and no breakfast bar on site.

    2
    « No Breakfast :( »

I usually choose a Best Western plus hotel because of the standard breakfast option that is provided. Just checked in with my wife and I and our 3 kids and now unexpectedly have to go out to purchase breakfast in the morning($30). Isn't breakfast a standard at a BWplus property? Expensive stay with no breakfast, I will choose a different brand in the area next time.

    3
    « No breakfast »

All in all, the motel its self was pretty good, the interior where the office is located was nice, they did serve hot chocolate and had fruit to munch on, but no breakfast. The room was pretty good, rather large with twin beds, nice shower, but a bit noisy, other then that, it was pretty good OK.

    3
    « Business »

I fully went to this hotel knowing that they had breakfast and they never did, then to further prove the point home the restaurant that they told you to go to never gave a discount for the breakfast their are other hotels in the area that serve a breakfast so stay at these hotels.

    3
    « Disappointed this time »

We have stayed here several times in the last 5 years. They have obviously remodeled the rooms since we were there last, with not so good results. Lots of little problems along with only a continental breakfast. We will be trying the other Best Western Plus in Ogden next time.

    5
    « Great stay »

One night stay as we were just passing through. Booked online for a king room. When we got in I asked what floor we were on. Unfortunately, the 2nd floor. With a little kid all wound up from being in the car for 12 hrs I asked to be moved to a first floor room to be courteous to others. There was no issue at all and the lady at the front desk was very accommodating. Rooms were big and clean. I would definitely stay again.

    4
« Up to the standards »

Right off the interstate highways, this property lives up to the Best Western standards with a clean, comfortable room, excellent beds, useful furniture and friendly service. Although there is no on-site breakfast, there is a very good restaurant, Jeremiah's, right across the parking lot. . . . One caveat for northbound travelers unfamiliar with the area: The Hi Country Inn is well north of the first exits for Ogden, so don't be afraid to continue until you have past the clearly marked junction between I-15 and I-84.

    2
    « Don't expect internet »

This hotel does not provide an Internet connection to all of it's rooms. I could only access the Internet if I went to the office; otherwise, it was not available in my room. The room was clean enough; however when you ask at the desk for Internet and WiFi service and have to go to the office, to only be told that the connection in your room is the old one, but it was the only connection available, there really wasn't Internet unless I was in the office. It was disappointing that this large complex couldn't have more than one modem to service all of the rooms. Staff should not put people in rooms that don't have Internet access when they specifically asked for it. If I had known, I wouldn't have stayed at this location.

    3
    « price »

199.98 is not worth it I have stayed at this motel for the last 5 years and never had to pay that price it don't even have a breakfast won't honor the travel coupons this is not even an high quality hotel if it was I would pay the price

    « NOT a PLUS »

A Best Western Plus without breakfast????? Not very clean, not very friendly Lovely lobby but that's not why we came. We always stay at BW. The beds were up to BW standards which is the only redeeming quality of this stay.

    5
    « Pleasant Surprise »

The check-in was fast and easy; the room (2Q) was large, clean and had everything (microwave/frig) we needed. The room service was fast and the food (Jeremiah's Restaurant) was reasonably priced and excellent! It is so helpful when traveling with a dog to be able to park right outside the door. The best part of our stay was the dog park out back. What a nice amenity! Note: While the train does go by on a regular basis, we couldn't really hear it once we were in our room with the door closed. We were in room 162 (ground floor facing the dog park)

    4
    « No free breakfast! »

My wife and I just completed a three week road trip that included staying at 5 different Best Western hotels. We choose BW because it is a good, clean, moderately-priced chain, we can get airline points, and they have free breakfast, or so we thought. We found out that the BW hotels are independently owned and the owner of the BW Plus High Country Inn owns the adjacent Jeremia's Restaurant, so they do not offer a free breakfast and they referred us to Jeremia's. When I made the online reservation I have to admit that I did not fully read the listed amenities, because it says that breakfast is available with charges. We just have been so accustomed to the free breakfasts at BW that I didn't read everything. I will say that the food at Jeremia's was good and the room and rates at the hotel were good also. I just want to alert people who, like ourselves, may be expecting a free breakfast.

    3
    « Got Screwed »

We have been using BW as our primary hotel chain. Have been a rewards member for years. One of the best hotel chains we ever used. However, We Stayed at this hotel on our way to Texas. Room cost was about $89.00. All was fine. On our return from Texas we stayed at this same hotel and they were nearly booked full, so they screwed the rate up to nearly &200.00 for the same room. I had no idea they would do that to us. I suppose all hotel chains can do that. Just never had BW do that. Cashing in our points and quiting BW.

« One of the Best places to stop »

This motel is AMAZING! We had been driving, for hours and we're exhausted. I looked up pet friendly motels, there were a few to choose from, but I called Best Western, at 11:30 pm, looking for a room. They said they had a couple and come on in. We found the place conveniently located off the 15. I told them we did have a dog and she gave us a great spot at the end of the facility that was close to the "park", for our dog and enough room to park our trailer. She told us the "park" had a lighted walkway, the area was 24 hour surveillance and easy access. Being 11:30 at night, and dark, ok, whatever you say. When we walked out the next morning, let me tell you, this "park" was gorgeous! The grass was lush and green, there was a section that dogs could run around, poop bag stations, pathways that intertwined, a huge koi pond, that had a bridge over it. The field next to it had sunflowers peaking over the fence. The dog loved it, I loved walking it, it was just gorgeous and relaxing. They also have a gym, a jacuzzi a restaurant on the same lot, gas stations close by and the rooms were so spacious, with comfortable beds. The staff was fantastic. I do believe they cater to snow skiiers. Without hesitation I recommend this location.

    5
« Good place to stop »

This hotel is a clean and comfortable place to stay. The service was professional and efficient. Additionally the restaurant affiliated with hotel is very good but very busy. We were very pleased with our experience.

    4
    « Ogden BW »

It simple comes down to can I recommend this hotel? Beautiful room and décor, clean hotel. But, BW's website stated breakfast in hotel. None offered there was a local restaurant next door, but we ate there first night after check in and the portions were to large and no portions opions. There is a national pancake chain 1 mile down the road though. If your passing through for 1 night recommend. Several day stay no. Hotel is near no other amenities.

    4
« Getting Better With Time »

We have stayed previously at the High Country Inn when driving to Boise, but it has been a few years. It's a better place now. We especially like the fact that we can drive up to our room and unload directly from our vehicle. The rooms are nicer now, and the train no longer makes any noise when it passes by. There is no complimentary breakfast, but Jeremiah's Restaurant (which is part of the complex) has excellent food at very reasonable prices. We ate both dinner and breakfast there and were very pleased. The rainbow trout had been recommended to us and was outstanding. We don't know when out next trip to this area will take place, but we will stay at the High Country Inn.

    4
« Pleasant stay in a convenient location »

The hotel had nice western country decor. Rooms were clean and updated however I found the bed somewhat uncomfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location convenient to highway and downtown Ogden. I wish there were a breakfast, but Jeremiah's Restaurant is conveniently across the parking lot.

    5
    « Outstanding Hotel »

We stopped in on cross country trip. The hotel is clean and very comfortable room. The room had all of the amenities you would expect and was in tip top shape. The service was also very good. Only downside was that there was no breakfast, but there is a restaurant in the parking lot with great food and reasonable prices. I think I will frequent this hotel on my way through in the future and would recommend staying there. Also love the fact that the rooms that the rooms and all non smoking and they have rooms for people with pets and most rooms do not allow pets as I hate staying in rooms where people have had pets.

    « Ups and downs »

Now before I talk about the one bad thing I'm just going to say the room was amazing. The beds were insanely comfortable, there was tons of space, and the shower was amazing. The only bad. No terrible thing was the pool was disgusting I found bits of trash on the bottom of it, there was a cotton ball with blood on it in the pool, and the pool was green so you couldn't even see underwater. Overall I'd say this is a great hotel, just as long as you stay away from the pool.

    1
« If you want a restful night's sleep, look elsewhere. »

Hotel leaves much to be desired. It is located conveniently off the highway and has easy access to many food choices. The cleaning of the room is subpar. Socks are black after a few minutes of walking on the carpet. The bathroom floor is sticky. Minimal towels are provided. The bed is okay but not overly comfortable. The overall construction is poor and allows for easy noise transfer. The night staff is unconcerned with noise complaints. We experienced an excessively heavy walked on our final night. The front desk agent did not believe me so she visited the room. Naturally, the noise did not occur during her 3-minute visit. The noise was so loud that I was able to hear it very loudly with noise canceling headphones on. She ultimately told me that it is a single man above me so it can't be that bad and that they are guys who stay at the hotel all the time and they never receive complaints. Ultimately, she was telling me that since they are regular customers my issue doesn't matter. We will not stay at this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone. If you want a restful night's sleep, look elsewhere.

    4
« Good for a one night stand »

Very clean, nice room. 5 mins drive to downtown Ogden. No free breakfast so no higher rating. Right off the main highway on 12th street..can't miss it. We slept great after a long day of travel, comfortable bed and in room fridge. Ogden definitely a nice city to check out

    4
« Beautiful setting, friendly staff »

This hotel is located near beautiful mountains and features a park in the back that is a real surprise. The staff is very friendly and helpful and I would suggest you stay here when visiting Ogden. My experience was very pleasant.

    3
« The best thing was the Koi pond behind the Inn. »

We arrived after a long drive from Baker City, OR. The lobby is pretty and looks like "high country" should look. We were surprised that the price did not included breakfast and that we were not offered a coupon to cover breakfast at the restaurant located in the same parking lot. We changed and went to the pool, which we had to ourselves. It was a bit dirty, nothing a quick swift with a skimmer couldn't take care of. Our room was OK. The sofa was the most uncomfortable place to sit. I am 5'3" and I could not sit comfortably no matter how I arranged myself. There were tiles off the wall in the bathroom. After dinner in the parking lot restaurant, we took a walk behind the hotel and found the Koi pond. It is nicely kept and you can buy a quarters worth of food by vending machine. There were no hot cookies offered. That is a must for my husband. Over priced for what you got.

    3
    « Why so much? »

Got a motel style ground floor unit. I have no idea why this cost $216 plus tax. The decor is like Yogi Bear. No real bar nearby. Bar makes you feel like your stealing booze in high school. Jeremiah's is the restaurant. See pic of Bar (hidden cupboard). Pot roast is good. Check in took 20 minutes.

    3
« Comfortable but not worth the price »

The room was clean and quiet, but there were a few simply maintenance items that made my visit only average. The tub drain was very slow, resulting in standing water filling the tub during a short shower. The shower head leaked and water ran down the wall. The iron leaked water and soaked my shirt, making ironing a shirt impossible. The room included a very small refrigerator, much smaller than similarly equipped rooms. At more than $200 per night, the value provided was not worth the price.

    3
« Freeway close but away from the historic center »

It was a reliable choice but I think I would like to be closer to the historic center; we had to get in our car and drive a long way to see it and make dining choices. Albeit, there is a restaurant across the parking lot and we ate breakfast there. Room price was a bit high for the area and remind me not to take a handicap access room unless I want water all over the bathroom floor. By accepting that room we had no couch just a table with a single chair. Not how I like to read comfortably at night. Lobby was very cute with nice amenities!

    3
    « Won't stay there again »

Even though there was a pretty cool koi pond, I was not impressed with this particular Best Western Plus. In fact I didn't find anything plus about it. The first room we were booked into did not have a functioning air conditioner and no refrigerator. Plus I found an item on the floor that had been left behind by a prior occupant. Given there was no complimentary breakfast and no discount for using the restaurant I thought it was very overpriced. We were given another room right away once we informed them of the problems with the room, but I feel that the desk clerk should have been area of the non-functioning items in that room. will not be staying there again.

    4
    « Decent room & Decent Price »

When arriving the clerk was very nice we checked in quickly and went to dinner. Our room was clean, slightly dated but in good condition. Our beds were comfortable and there was enough pillows for everyone. Everyone slept well, considering it was quiet in our room. Easy access would stay again.

    « Nice location »

Upon entering the hotel the first thing I noticed is how beautiful it was. The lobby was gorgeous. The hotel desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Check in process was fast and smooth. They have a outdoor pool that looked to be very well maintained although I didn't try it out. We went to our room and it was nicely decorated and very clean. We noticed the air conditioner wasn't as cool as we like it. Of course it was rather hot outside. We tried the restaurant on the premises,Jeremiah's, and it was very pretty and had good food at a reasonable price. They also have a fitness room and jacuzzi that we didn't try. All and all I'd stay here again. One thing I didn't like is that there was no breakfast offered. I guess because of the restaurant on site.

    « Good Hotel Chain »

Excellent stay. My family and I were well accommodated on our long trip from Washington State to Colorado. My children enjoyed the pool and my wife and I the fact that you were able to accommodate our Pet. We enjoyed a pleasant rest and the excellent breakfast the next morning. I travel for my company and I will be sure to recommend this chail to the travel department.

« Decent place for the night »

We stay at Best Westerns often and this one was just okay. The room was nice but the bathroom had a sticky floors and the tub barely drained. The TV didn't work, which normally isn't an issue but my daughter was hoping for some lazy time. The positive was the pool and the restaurant across the parking lot. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful.

    5
« Excellent place to stay »

This is an excellent place to stay. It is convenient to the freeway, it is clean and comfortable, and it is reasonably priced. The staff is very nice and helpful. It was a pleasure to be there and we would stay there again.

    « Wonderful for Pets! »

I was traveling with my dog, a 3 yr old pitt-bull Lab mix. Part of the hotel property has a large (about 2 acre) field of mowed grass with a little pond with trees and carp. It was a wonderful grassy area for pets to walk and play in! We really appreciated having it there! The room overall was good, I would stay here again. The only downsides were: The Air Conditioner was loud and the dial did not work except for on and off. Also the shower-toilet area is very small. But, the water pressure and ease of adjustment of the shower head were wonderful! The best I've seen. The vanity, the beds and TV were all very nice especially not having to wade through a stupid TV guide that is often so clumsy! With this TV you can go straight to the channels. Great!! I love the decor and style of the hotel. There is a restaurant called Jeremiah's in the parking area. I would say the food is fair at best and the ambiance is very nice and the staff is super great!

    5
    « Great Experience »

We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Our room wasn't ready but the staff quickly made an adjustment and got us into one that was. It was extremely clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed. Enjoyed staying across from the park. Only slight irritation was the internet required us to sign in repeatedly.

« Comfortable, clean, with some nice extras that elevate the experience »

This was my second stay at Best Western Ogden and once again I found it comfortable, clean and very satisfactory. A couple of little extras elevate this hotel/motel from standard family fare to a little bit better and one is the large manicured garden and Koy pond at the rear of the property. This is a private park (supposedly) only for the use of hotel guests. Just a short walk from your room, you can collect a handful of fish food from a vending post for a few cents and feed the ravenous Koy. If you travel with a dog/pet, you'll love this wide open space perfect for a late afternoon or evening stroll. There also an outdoor pool which is pleasant. In the foyer is 24 hr access to tea and coffee from a "cappuccino" machine. The rooms are spacious with a large TV and desk. I would stay here again.

    5
    « Excellent value! »

Spotlessly clean, up to date furnishings, easy on/off the freeway, ski lodge themed lobby, friendly staff, plenty of parking. No breakfast was provided which was fine as there is a very nice, family-owned restaurant in the parking lot. This hotel had the feel of some character and attention to detail not found in cookie-cutter corporate hotels of the same level. Recommended.

    4
« One look says it all »

Upon entering the lobby , wide open spaces greet you. The staff were helpful and with a charming park to stroll in behind the hotel make for a relaxing end to a stressful drive. And to top it off, there is a great restaurant across the parking lot.

    5
    « Just beautiful! »

I have paid a lot more for rooms not nearly as nice as this. Lobby charming and delightful. Front desk courteous and helpful. The room is comfortable with nice quality furniture and a clean efficient air-conditioner. Both room and bathroom are immaculately clean, but the cherry on this cake is the area behind the hotel. There is a large landscaped lawn area with shade and benches and a beautiful big koi pond complete with cups of food to throw to the gorgeous fishes. Well behaved guest dogs on leashes are allowed in this area and it was clear that responsible pet owners have taken their obligation to keep the area clean seriously. This place made traveling with my dogs so enjoyable. There is no breakfast offered but there is a very nice restaurant in the same parking lot and for the quality of the accommodations I can go without stale bagels and fat-free yogurt.

    « Mediocre »

The hotel staff are polite and kind. The room was noisy, the sheets were scratchy and uncomfortable, the room had a funny order, and there were several times during my stay it sounded like a jack hammer was being used in the room above mine.

    4
« no breakfast / cold hot tub »

Only offered coffee and apples in the lobby. Had to go across the parking lot to a restaurant and buy breakfast. The hot tub was on the cool side and no way to raise the temperature of the water. Also poor circulation. The room was large and very comfortable

    5
    « My Review »

Great place to stay. Good location, excellent restaurant and great staff. Lovely grounds to take a walk in and just about anything you could ask for. Exercise room, spa, swimming pool, and well maintained. Of course, there is Jeremiah's.

    5
    « Wonderful surprise »

Heading back south from Oregon with three adults, a 5 year old and a dog which was a ball. We needed to stop for the night and were near Ogden. This hotel was awesome. The room was spacious and clean. Dog friendly was a plus. Our room opened out to a big beautiful walking park for dogs and kids complete with a pond with bridge. Perfect night. Staff very friendly.

    4
    « A very good choice »

The rooms are very spacious and clean. WIFI works well and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Fast check-in/check-out. Nice lodge-style breakfast room. No juice for the complimentary breakfast but the coffee is adequate.

    4
    « trip yo Wa. »

we chose best western because we were traveling with 2 dogs and it is the cleanest that allows dogs. we didn't use any of the motels facilities since we were only staying overnight. it was close to the freeway with an easy on and off access.

    5
    « Vacation with Grandkids »

This hotel was excellent for us. A great location with lots of food choices and easy access to Rt 15 and the canyon to Pineview and ski areas. The outdoor pool was especially nice on the very hot afternoon.

    4
    « Resort like motel. »

Nice large rooms. Very busy motel. Lodge rough hewn feeling. Room open for coffee hot chocolate drinks 24/7. Kids in pool but not loud or obnoxious. Jacuzzi also available. Restaurant on premises. Very good service and food. Very comfortable. We visited the historic street of Ogden. We were going to have a beer on this hot Utah afternoon. Utah law demands we eat, too. So we skipped that and went back to our property. Nice restful evening.

    2
« Average to Poor experience »

Place needs renovation to make bigger bathrooms, better lighting and complimentary breakfast. The dog walking area is excellent and peaceful, but sadly this seems to be the only thing going for it. The staff was very accomodating and friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

    2
« Would not stay here again »

Air conditioning and refrigerator and whirlpool did not work. No continental breakfast, which is deceiving in pictures and description. Grounds are nice. Room was clean. Price was high for the quality, condition and no breakfast as Best Westerns usually have. Would not recommend or stay here again.

  • 2
« Foul Odor in Room »

While the staff was courteous, and the adjoining restaurant was just fine, the room we stayed in had a very foul odor. I had to spray the carpet with cheap cologne just make some attempt to get rid of the odor. In addition, the bathtub and sink did not drain.

    4
« Great for those with pets! »

We always stay here on our trip south. We like this hotel because it is close to the highway, has a good on-site restaurant, a green space for our dog, and a gas station across the street. We checked in on a Friday at 6pm and left the following morning at 5am to beat the Salt Lake City traffic. The hotel was being renovated, but that was no bother. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean (no strong smells) and it was quiet. It's all we ever need for our one night in Ogden, Utah. Would I recommend it...yes!

    5
    « Great Stay »

The motel is just off I-15 exit. Very quiet and comfortable rooms. Restaurant is on property that has good value for the money. Close to gas stations. No shopping near by. Easy access to freeway to Salt Lake City. We have stayed here several times and each time we have been satisfied with the property.

    3
    « Good Value »

Nicely remodeled. Bed was too soft for my taste. Hotel located on a busy street so it was a little noisy. Appreciated pre-assigned room to prevent overbooking. Overall, I would use Best Western again.

    3
« Terrible Parking for Single Senior Woman »

Night check-in person unaware of parking lot condition and would not or could not help correct the problem. After calling to confirm secure pull-thru parking was available for car pulling trailer-- when I arrived the parking lot was full of furniture from 6 tractor trailers. I was told to park in unsecure area. Another guest had to help move furniture for me to securely park.

    3
« Beautiful area but needs work »

The hotel has a beautiful park & pond behind it that was really nice, The onsite restaurant is a plus and was very good. We were very disappointed that the pool was getting worked on, the hot tub was cold and making a funny noise, it also looked dirty. The other disappointment was they do not offer breakfast.

    4
    « Good quality »

The motel is located just a couple of blocks from the Interstate. The room (queen 1 bed) was clean and quiet. Several dining choices around. Unfortunately no breakfast in the morning. Correct prize for this level.

    4
« Nice motel with lots of renovations going on »

This is a nice motel that is decorated in Craftsman style. The lobby is pretty with lots of wood finishes. Pros- Nicely refurbished rooms and lobby Spacious room Ski lockers for those who like to ski Nice walking area in back Cons- Construction going on all around the site- Front desk area was taped off All curbing was being reconstructed Big trailer around back with detritus of old furnishings We were checked into an occupied room, which we quickly exited, but it was still awkward (Front desk lady was working very hard and just made a mistake.) No breakfast available

    5
    « Very nice »

Very nice and great employees and the view from our room was pretty, nice to see the pretty park from our room. Easy access to the hotel from the freeway, easy to get to. like the area very clean and inviting

    5
    « Nice mistake »

I thought I had booked the BW hotel in So. Ogden, but mistakenly booked the High Country Inn instead. Turned out to be a nice mistake. The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. It is next to Jeremiah's restaurant, a popular local diner with an excellent breakfast. The hotel also has a beautiful park behind it with walking paths, waterfall and a pond full of Koi. I think I will make this mistake again.

« Work in process, has great potential »

We stayed one night at this property. The grounds, especially the large private park and koi pond are very nice. The rooms were very recently upgraded/refreshed and were comfortable. The A/C worked well and was quiet. The Wi-fi was OK for speed, but it is best to sit near the window for the best signal. A big issue is the lack of a complimentary breakfast. You are advised to go the the restaurant attached to the property. No discount.

    4
    « our stay »

Pool was very dirty, all else was fine but we were used to free breakfast and it was not available. We hah stayed there previously and were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel is expensive but very nice, we would stay again. see previous comments.

    4
    « GOOD VALUE »

We like Best Westerns for good value and well managed properties. This is the only BW we have stayed at that does not include a free breakfast. Reception desk friendly and had some good information as to where to dine.

    3
    « Excellent for dogs »

Huge grass dog play area. Small pond with fish feeding amid, very nice landscaping, with paved path winding through grounds. Good view of mountains. Easy access off freeway. Good Thai restaurant within walking distance.

    3
    « not that great »

Nice staff but old, stale, cigarette smelling room! No breakfast included but can walk to nearby restaurant. They do have a nice lawn area with a koi pond which was fun. Great for dog walking and stretching your legs a bit.

    4
« Convenient location but some issues »

We chose this hotel based on our previous experience, but we did have some issues that were new. Our room was on the back side and maybe because of that our internet service was very slow. Also, the air conditioner noise was annoying...like a tumbler dryer. Neither of these issues were evident in our previous stay, so maybe it was our bad luck. It is an older hotel refurbished, but so is the BW in Kennewick, and that hotel just felt newer...and everything worked beautifully.

    3
    « Vacation »

Rooms were clean but hot tub did not work and most of exercise equipment didn't work. Hole in the wall behind door but like I said rooms were clean. Beds were a little small. I thought they were suppose to be queen size but didn't seem like it. Loved the walking trails behind hotel.

    5
« would stay there again »

All was awesome except wish there had been a free breakfast in the morning. The Restaurant food was good and reasonable. The area in the back was fish and pond was peaceful. The room was big and comfortable.

    4
« Great place for the money »

Because of the restaurant next door there was no breakfast provided. A little noisy with the train and freeway. But a very nice place. The bed was very nice. The room is getting a little worn. The nature trail was wonderful.

    4
« Nice Place, But No Breakfast »

This was a nice hotel. The rooms were clean. The Wi-Fi internet service worked without issue. The location was convenient, offering plenty of places to eat and shop in the immediate area...and the scenery was beautiful. ***My one complaint regards the continental breakfast, namely that they don't have one. We stayed for one night, and during that time we were told about the restaurant next door three times. I got the distinct impression that they owned that restaurant and were trying to get us to spend money there by not offering continental breakfast.

  • 5
    « Very Friendly Service »

I would definitely stay at the Best Western again every time I stay at these hotels turns out to be a comfortable and pleasurable time. The location was ideal for our stay and was just off the freeway. I also liked the spectacular views that where available from the hotel.

    4
« Nice but not the Nicest »

I always try to stay at Best Western Plus. This location was nice, but not my favorite. They always had coffee available, and since there was a marathon they had some things out for runners very early in the morning, but no breakfast of any other kind. I feel the employees there were great. The room was fine, kind of an old stale smoke odor and only one trash can in the room, but other than that it was fine. They do have a beautiful back area and a nice restaurant close by. As I said it was Nice but not the Nicest

    3
    « Fancy Motel »

My family and I stayed the night on our way to Yellowstone last summer. Considering this was a Best Western Plus, I expected a little more than what I'd find at a typical motel. The rooms were clean but the interior was outdated compared to the upgraded building exterior. Both my husband and I awoke with sore backs from the overly "soft" mattress, which was not something I'm prone to experiencing. Also, there is no complimentary breakfast as is usually found at a BW. Instead, there is a restaurant across the parking lot which was always so busy that you need to make sure you're not too hungry before you go due to the long wait times. There is a nice koi pond a short walk from the rear of the hotel, where you could have a picnic or just visit to stretch your travel-weary legs.

    4
    « Vacation »

The hotel is very nice, neat and cozy, service very nice kind and pleasant. Room and bed were very comfortable and clean. The hotel has a designated but secluted area with a computer and printer, and the area is also nicely furnished with the comfortable chairs and table which gives homy feeling. The room was non smoking and super clean, we were very pleased.

    3
    « Not for liesure. »

Overall it was O.K. If you are staying for business only just a few nights, it works. If you are there to relax, not so much. The spa area was rather gross as there was dirt floating in the water, and mildew on the walls of the spa. Very disappointing.

    « Review »

Stay was good. Maintenance needs to be more prompt. We had a loose toilet seat that took 3 days to get fixed. Lobby toilet seta was nearly off, too. Jeremiah's restaurant was great food at good price. Pretty pond and walking path behind hotel was nice.

    « Washibngton - Oregon »

This was an excellent place to stay. We had driven all day from Lincoln City, Oregon and this was the perfect place to stay and get ready for our next day of travel. We had our dogs with us and our room was across the parking lot from the park. The staff was outstanding and I would highly recommend this Best Western to anyone traveling through the area.

    5
    « Absolutely wonderful »

We were just amazed the evening we checked in. The weather was wonderful so we took a walk around the pond. The kids loved the fish. Our room was nice and cozy. The only problem we had was our key didn't want to work. And no free breakfast. But we throughly enjoyed Jeremiahs.

    5
    « Mother's Day on the road. »

We were on our way home to Indiana and chose to stay at the Ogden, Utah location. It was a very good choice. We had a King Suite - and it was a suite (not a suite want-a-be). We almost extended our visit an additional day to have a "relaxing" Mother's Day on the road. We would highly recommend this site and make sure you eat at Jeremiah's - restaurant on site.

    5
« Great hotel for pet owners! »

Great hotel for pet owners. We stay here when making our trek to Arizona from Canada 5 or 6 times a year with our large dog. We love the great area they have for dog walking and the the hotel is located close to gas stations and the freeway for an easy early morning get away. We'll be back!

  • 5
    « Excellent »

I wouldn't stay anywhere else, I'll be back for sure. Clean, friendly, the grounds are beautiful for a morning walk, and the location is perfect. You will find the staff very friendly and engaging. The lobby is beautiful, rustic, and relaxing. I watched the morning news drinking coffee while everyone else was getting ready in the room.

    5
« Best Place to Stay in the Area »

We always try to get accommodation at the High Country Inn when travelling through the area...It is a great spot for traveller's with dogs of any size as the exercise/walking area is very appealing and the hotel rooms, staff and facilities are top notch...Book early or you will be disappointed!

    4
« We came in late and the staff went out of their way to help us! »

Very comfortable room - clean and the staff is great! We arrived after a very long drive and they had us in a second floor room and my husband asked for something on the ground floor and they gave us the last room on the ground floor without any additional price increase. We would stay here again - right off the freeway.

    3
    « Great location »

This property has a great location! It's right off the freeway! Centrally located! Rooms are very clean and comfortable! Bed not as comfortable. I was on the main floor right in front of the parking area, was a bit noisy when workers were getting back but after they went to bed was very quiet. The lobby staff was extremely helpful and welcoming! The inn is very close to the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home, which I was visiting.

    5
    « Convenient & Pleasant »

Proximity to I15 is handy. Rooms are clean & good order. Staff helpful and cheerful. Restaurant across parking lot excellent. There is a pet section and park provided. Business center has free computer access.

    4
    « good convenient hotel »

Right off the freeway but far enough away for no noise. it has been recently upgraded and the room was very well done. While they don't have a complimentary breakfast they do have coffee, juice etc and a restaurant is located at the end of the parking lot. The lobby is nicely done and staff were very helpful and courteous. We definitely would stay there again when in the area.

    4
    « Travel/personal »

We stayed in the hotel for one night, and we would like to recommend it to others without hesitation. Room was very clean and comfortable. Coffee maker was in the room however the coffee, tea, juice and fruits were serverd in designated seatting area close by reception. I have noticed that a computer and printer were accessible in very quiet area. Very well maintain. There is a welcome feeling.

    5
    « Terrific! »

We pulled off the interstate just looking for any place decent, and there they were. Everything about it exceeded our expectations, including the lovely park behind it. Room was great, dinner at the on-site restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The best part was the friendly and helpful staff, Tara who checked us in and Rachael who checked us out.

    5
« Clean / dog friendly hotel! Use a fan to mask occasional train noise »

We stay at this Best Western a few times a year. The room is always clean and we like the breakfast. Our dogs love the park behind the hotel. It is so nice to run around the park when we arrive and before we leave to run off some energy (for us and the dogs). We would highly recommend this hotel. My only hint is to call the morning of your reservation to see if they can hold a room on the first floor facing the park. There is a train that goes by occasionally (we just turn on the bathroom fan or ask for a fan at the front desk to mask the notice). Enjoy!!

    5
    « Unexpected »

Entire property appeared clean and well cared for. Nightly rate was reasonable. The room was larger than expected and very nicely furnished. Heater worked great and was easy to use. . Everything looked new. Bed was comfortable. Lobby was large and there were two clerks checking people in at 11:30PM making the process quick.

  • 5
    « Pet friendly »

This motel is very pet and family friendly. There is a big grass area, walking trail and koi pond. We had been traveling with our dog for two weeks and we had trouble finding a good place to walk and exercise the dog at other motels, We also had a walk out door in our room which was great!

    3
    « My stay »

Its at a great location, an has great rooms, & property is well kept however there are very few amenities an staff are not accommodating, I havestayed here before but will only choose when I am in a hurry or can't find another hotel near by.

    4
« Nice and quiet, no sleeper sofas though »

The web site clearly says sleeper sofas...but they recently removed them. No one offered to say otherwise and didn't notice that 4 people were in a room with 1 queen bed. It was resolved easily, although I asked for the roll away charge to be removed the next morning from our bill. Cute pond and waterfall behind hotel with huge coy.

    5
« Excellent place to stay »

Clean and renovated rooms, friendly staff and an amazing dog park for your pet to enjoy. We travel a great deal and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in for the price. Definitely recommend it!

    5
« best in the west best western »

This is a truly fantastic Best Western Hotel. The atmosphere, décor, staff, the rooms the grounds, the restaurant were of the finest I have experienced in a very long time. I would return here in a heartbeat.

    5
    « Comfortable »

The staff was great. The hotel was clean and comfortable. However, the toilet was noisy when you flushed it. The staff recommended a restaurant adjacent to the hotel that was great. Would stay here again.

    4
« Great Hotel but no breakfast?? »

The staff was great the hotel was nice but very disappointed in no breakfast or coupon to the on site restaurant. All other hotels on this trip offered that and this was the most expensive on out trip.

    5
« Great last minute stay »

We were on a long road trip and ended up in the area late in the evening. This hotel was recommended by another Best Western as a good place to stay. We were very pleased with the room and the price. The hotel is under some renovation, however this did not impact our stay. We were the first guests in a newly renovated room (new carpet and furniture), very nice. Definitely would stay here again.

    5
    « Always Nice »

This hotel has several special features. The most prominent is the restaurant adjacent to the property that is very popular with locals. The other great feature is the park on the backside of the hotel that offers quiet walks or a place to play games. There is a train that comes through at night, but it didn't make much noise when we were there and probably is conducted with caution for the hotel. The front desk person I remember from years ago, and she is proud of the hotel and knows how to accommodate with our special requests. Each room is accessible from the outdoors, and there is a new elevator for the second floor along with new stone decor on the entire hotel.

    5
« Nice and comfortable and conventian just off the Interstate »

This motel is convenient to I-15 in Ogden UT The room was large and roomy and the King bed was comfortable. The motel doesn't offer a breakfast, but there is a restaurant across the parking lot. The room had a frig with a small freezer compartment, which we needed and appreciated. It would have been easier if the table lamps had had electric outlets, as is common these days when people have so many phones, etc. to charge, but we were still able to get by okay. We enjoyed our one night stay on a long road trip. We would stay again.

  • 4
« Great value, clean rooms close to the I-15 »

I find Best Westerns a safe stay when travelling. They have great wifi connectivity for work and are pet friendly which is a bonus! This hotel has a beautiful lobby with helpful front desk staff. There is a restaurant in the parking lot which serves great food and you can even order room service from there between certain hours. A great choice if you don't want to stay in the traffic of SLC.

    « If I could rate with a negative I would! »

The lady who checked us in, was very pleasant and friendly, that was the extent of this service though. She was the only one who cared. There was several issues with our stay of four nights. None were fixed. We were treated horribly The room was disgusting. Hair stuck in the tile. The caulk to the tub was peeling. The tub didn't even come up to my knee, like only half way up my shin, not that I would want to take a bath in that disgusting bathroom!!!! The bed was rock hard!!! The ac unit, I am not even sure what you would call that. The room was very hot, no air flow and very humid! The bed was so hard, I considered sleeping on the floor. We were in town for a conference and this was the ONLY hotel with vacancies, or we would have left after the first night. I am not even kidding, the bed was so hard, I could have swore my kidneys were bruised. After going to the front desk for a HUGE billing error, like charging me for double than what was on my receipt than arguing with me about it, was very rude. Will never stay here again. No one even offered to fix anything either. After getting the email survey from best western, the manager sent a very generic email asking for us to stay their again in hopes to change our minds. However, didn't even offer a discount for our horrible 5 day stay that we had just stayed, or even a discount in the future. They don't care. They got their money upfront, charged in full the first night. Never again will I stay here!!!

    4
    « Cute and nice »

I just pulled into town was way too tired to search so I just picked this place. I am very glad I did. Rachel at the front desk was very nice. Cute lodgy feel. Big tvs in the room and microwaves and a fridge. There was a burrito in my fridge but that stuff happens. Other than that super clean :)

    « *** »

It seems something is always not right. Nothing really big, just a little inconvenience for us. Hopefully things were taken care of before the next guest arrives. We always arrive late in the evening, then leave early too. hard to pay $100. or more for a short stay. Would like to have only 1 bed in the room, so not charged for two.

    5
    « What a great place »

The best off Highway motel I've ever stayed at. Super clean, pet friendly. Great dog park in back. Beautiful rooms, excellent gym and hot tub. Jeramhias restaurant great, ate multiple times Employees where amazingly pleasant. Would go back just to vacation!!

    2
    « Blunt and Rude »

Room was noisy, the heater was loud and rattled every time it came on. The shower had hair stuck to the tile. The parking lot was filthy, construction noise started around 6 am there was nothing substantial offered for the free breakfast, the coffee tasted like watered down leftover burnt grounds and they did not even offer any tea. When I asked for a printout of our receipt, the front desk person told me in no uncertain terms, "No, we do not do that." Very blunt, rude, and without even a hint of a smile.

    4
    « Very Nice Hotel »

Hotel is great, beds were fantastic however..... staff was not very friendly and they do not offer a continental breakfast. We were told to go to the restaurant across the parking lot if we wanted breakfast which normally is not a big issue but for being a "PLUS" hotel with plenty of room for a breakfast bar/room I was disappointed for the price we paid.

    2
    « Subpar Stay »

While the room was clean and the exterior of the hotel was inviting, our stay was subpar. I travel frequently for work and have a lot of experience with a variety of hotels, and rely heavily on user reviews, therefore, I hope that this review helps you. Negatives: limited hot water for showering; tub was clogged and water backed up to your ankles while taking a very quick, somewhat cold shower; we were looking forward to the hot tub/whirlpool after a long day of skiing, but the water temperature was tepid and the water level was low so the jets were extremely loud, and there were no towels available; the front desk did not provide any information regarding the hotel facilities, continental breakfast, WiFi etc. Positives: room was clean and bed was comfortable.

    « Wot no breakfast!!!!! »

Just off the highway, quick checkin, room tastefully decorated, fridge, microwave, ample toiletries. No breakfast but coffee and fruit, surprised at that as most Best Westerns supply breakfast. Across from the hotel car park was Jeremiah's Restaurant which made us wonder if it was somehow connected to the hotel hence the reason for no hot breakast. As I write this review I am staying in a Best Western in a different State which offers a hot breakfast, soup until 9pm and two Complimentary bottles of water in the room. Amazing how different Best Western can be.

« Beautifully decorated motel and grounds! »

Our stay was very nice. The rooms have been refurbished so they're all very clean. The motel doesn't have compliment breakfast, but there is fruit and coffee in the lobby for any time of day. Jeremiah's restaurant is across the parking lot and had lots of good food on the menu. One complain that we had was the door to the room was hard to open. We had to pull on the door, insert the card and remove it and then turn the knob to open the door. It didn't always work the first time. Otherwise, all was fine. There is a nice area out back for walking.

    « average »

Room was just fine after a 15 hour day. Nothing special. Just an old time drive up motel room. Comfortable bed. No microwave. Mediocre restaurant on the premises. Price of $80 was reasonable. I would stay here again. Right off the freeway.

« Very nice petfriendly hotel. »

They have remodeled the rooms adding nice amenities. . Very nice pet rooms. Great park for pets next door. The park has pet station & fish food station for the pond. Jeremiah's Restaurant is next door with good food. Overall a very nice experience.

« Fabulous stay for pets! »

Nice motel; clean and efficient. But the highlight for our dog "Lucy" was the huge park behind the motel for pets. This was awesome!!! The room was kind of dated, but clean. Bottom line: we would definitely stay here again, if we are ever in Ogden again.

    « Clean »

The room was clean, and because we took advantage of a Trip Advisor price offer it was reasonably priced. It's an older style building with room access via outside stairs and walkways. We were told there was an elevator but didn't find it so carried luggage up stairs to 2'nd floor. The room was fine for an overnight, but obviously set up for 1 person - one cup, etc. Very quiet all night. When we arrived the heater was going full blast on the highest heat setting and it must have been over 80 in the room. We turned the heat off and had it on fan only for the rest of the night. We arrived about 8:30 P.M. And when we asked about a place to get dinner we were told "there isn't much open this time of night, there's a Denny's and an IHOP". And that's truly all that was near-by! So plan on eating early. No breakfast - coffee is offered in the lobby, which is very nicely decorated with a lodge theme. It's so nice that the room was quite a let-down. So my rating reflects the fact that if the price is right for you, you will get a clean, quiet room - and that's about it.

    « Great hotel »

We enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed our Valentines Day Special dinner at Jeremiahs restaurant. The hotel parking was an issue...with a large number of patrons going to Jeremiahs to dine & parking in the hotel parking spaces. I suggest getting a room in the back to avoid parking issues.

« Good Old Ogden Best Western...another GREAT stay! »

We ALWAYS stay here when passing through Ogden, have been here countless times and always enjoy it. The big park out back is perfect for a walk after driving all day. This is a pet friendly hotel close to the freeway, very convenient, very clean. The recent renovations are good as well.

    « Almost Great »

My wife and I have stayed at many hotels over the years and this Best Western is among the best. Several small issues prevent this from being excellent, but none of them are major. If I was in charge, I would immediately determine how to replace the High Speed Internet service that is anything but high speed. A few meetings with staff could fix the loud group of house keepers hanging out in the laundry room rather than cleaning the exterior halls. Too many stains on the concrete, especially next to garbage cans where it is obvious the bags leaked while being changed, but no one bothered to clean up mess. The handrails are filthy, but could be cleaned with minimal effort. The fridge was new but did NOT work. The aftermarket TV remote was horrible. But all these are small issues when compared to an otherwise great looking place. Comfy beds, great furniture, nice amount of clean space in rooms. Associated restaurant is one of the worst place though. Stop doing business with these people.

    « Pet & People Friendly »

When I was searching for a hotel that would be pet friendly I found this hotel listed. I was not disappointed. Not only was it pet friendly, with a ground floor room, outdoor dog friendly park for walking, it was great for people too. It has newly redecorated rooms with great comfortable beds, new carpet and furniture. Our room was just perfect. It also has in-room microwave and refrigerator. We spent two nights there and plan to return to this property the next time we are in Ogden. Great value for the price, too. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. There is a nearby restaurant that seems to be very popular with the local population. We didn't dine there, but it was very busy while we were there. One drawback is that the hot tub is in a separate area, and has to be accessed by going outdoors from the guest rooms. Inconvenient in cold weather for me. Other reviews didn't lie, this is definitely a gem of a hotel.

    « Super stopover »

Drove from Oregon to Ogden in one day. Needed a pet friendly place to stay with two beds. This place was perfect. The receptionist was very helpful, the room was clean, and the place has a GREAT area (actually a small park with a pond) to walk dogs. Even though it was close to the highway, it was nice and quiet. i was worried that the lighting was too dim, when I first flipped the switch, but it turns out they use energy efflicient fluorescents, and they got brighter after a minute or so. There is no complimentary b-fast, but there is a decent restaurant across the parking lot. The coffee in the reception area was soon weak. I'm thinking that's a cultural thing.....

« Comfortable room and great service. »

This was a comfortable room with everything I needed. The desk staff was extremely nice and helpful, and the trout dinner, delivered to my room by the nearby restaurant, was delicious. An extra surprise is the dog walking area which surrounds a waterfall and pond, with beautiful mountain view.

« Outstanding customer service by high quality staff »

While travelling from Montana to Arizona we chose to make our first stop in Ogden, Utah as road conditions and timing of departure were a concern. Best Western Central reservations was very helpful in describing the three opportunities in the Ogden area. From arrival to departure the staff encountered were very professional and accommodating. They went out of their way to expedite the return of an item left behind in the room. Definitely would recommend this property and the restaurant across the parking lot to anyone travelling to or through Ogden.

    « Grateful »

The staff was awesome. We was returning from our 2 year old funeral and everyone was very kind and understanding of our pain. One even share one of personal pain and she understood what we were going threw. It very nice to see real people dealing with customers. They made us feel very welcome. We will tell of families and friends. Thank you for keeping it real.

« Great place to stay in while you are in Ogden. »

This was a great place to stay. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. When you checked in the lobby was beautiful and set the tone for your stay. Although breakfast was not included like other Best Western's there was a very good restaurant across the parking lot.

« Jeremy is the best! »

We were waiting in line when Jeremy walked in to start his shift. I could tell he was exceptional because he immediately logged in and started helping us. We booked a king room, but with the renovations recently completed we were accidentally given a queen. Jeremy fixed it immediately and with a smile. He told us about Jeremiah's and what he would recommend. Overall, he made the trip start on a great note! The agent at check out was also phenomenal. She understood we were there for business and accommodated a later check out. The maids were very nice, respected the do not disturb sign and said hello every morning. Whoever does the snow plowing is an all star because they made the path behind the hotel walkable. Couldn't be more happy with our stay.

    3
    « Convenient »

Nice reception area. Good beds and pillows. Easy access from Interstate. Train whistle is loud. We were on the track side, so maybe the other side of the building is quieter. Our room was a "park your car and climb the steps" kind. If there is snow, you might request a ground level room. We did not take advantage of the continental breakfast. There was a reasonable pet fee for our cat.

    3
    « It was OK »

The front desk lady was no help at all. She told us where our room was and that was it. I had to ask all of the questions which seemed to be inconveniencing her even though I was the only person in the lobby. On answer to my questions, I found out that there is no breakfast - not even continental. They have a small fruit bowl of apples and oranges and coffee and hot chocolate available 24/7. I asked about the hot tub and was told it is open 24/7 which is great but she didn't even tell me where it was. I had to wonder the outside of the hotel (since all of the room doors are outside) in the snow looking for things...She didn't even give us our WIFI code so we were clueless about that. The rooms were average - nothing fancy. I was expecting more because the outside of the hotel looks nice as well as the lobby. At least the sheets were clean and the mattresses were nice to sleep on. It was just Ok...

    « Rip-offs! »

No Continental breakfast, though one was offered on their website. Poor maid service. A couple of the front desk staff were rude. And the kicker -- they not only double-billed me, but overcharged me as well. When I called to complain, they said they had seven days to look into it. Meanwhile, I'm out almost $500.

« Never EVER had a bad night here »

We love staying here, I think we've stayed here about a dozen times over the years. It's far enough out of the way to be restful and close enough to everything to be super convenient. NEVER a complaint, a great clean, moadern, and convenient place for weary road travelers. Love the big park with the pond.

    « Wonderful Surprise »

My wife and I were driving our rental moving truck (26 ft) from Seattle to Texas and stayed here. Based on the excellence of this hotel, we opted to stay at Best Western Plus for all remaining stays. We booked this hotel because we could park our moving truck near the hotel room door. This was great but the real pleasure was the room.

« Hotel Staff and Room »

This hotel has been our destination many times and we have always enjoyed the stay and met only the friendliest staff. We appreciate their help and patience with us. The room is very clean and the bed is comfortable and well decorated.

« Wait for the remodel to finish »

Needs more fit and finish. Needs a breakfast room. I heard there once was a bar in the motel and if this would reopen it would really help. If you pull in late at night there isn't much on this end of town that is still open.

« Overnight on way home. »

We arrived in Ogden after a 12 hour car trip, tired and hungry. The receptionist was kind and provided us (2 couples) with separate rooms and gave us the CAA rate. The rooms were clean and comfortable. In the same parking lot was Jeremiah's Restaurant and food was excellent and price was very affordable. There was coffee, tea and fruit provided for a quick breakfast before we continued our journey.

    « Not worth $130/night »

We stayed (1) night in Ogden, UT. The room was just an old, basic hotel room, which would have been fine for just an overnight stay, however, our room rate was almost $130. No free breakfast, no restaurant, no room service.

    5
    « No complaints whatsoever. »

The room was fairly priced, the staff was friendly, the room was spotless, the area was relatively quiet, and everything worked. I literally have no complaints. They say that this review needs more characters, so bleepidy blah, bluh bleepidy blooo. Seriously consider staying here.

    2
    « Disappointing Experience »

Bitter cold, drive through and main entrance closed off with sign directing to "use other door".. with no indication where "other door" was. Room clean but small and décor dull.. Pet friendly walking area huge and attractive. No complementary breakfast at all; directed to neighbouring restaurant by hotel staff: no discount for hotel clients but food and service good.

    3
    « Nice walking paths »

This property is getting an upgrade, our room was cute. They have nice walkways out back of the hotel. Close to restaurant on site. Would have been nice to have had a voucher since they don't have a breakfast in the morning. We will stay here again. Would have given higher rate but for the mess from the remodeling. Will give a higher one once this is complete.

« Excellent hotel and staff »

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rachel and Jessica have great customer service. The hotel lobby is beautiful with 24 hr. hot drinks. Our first room had been smoked in. We were given another room with no hassels, which was clean and nice. The hotel was quiet even though it sits off the freeway. There is a nice restaurant right next door. which made the stay nice. I would definately recommend a stay here.

    4
    « Value for price »

I've stayed here many times in the past three years and have always found the rooms clean, comfortable and quiet. There is an excellent restaurant (Jeremiah's) located in the same parking lot as the hotel, which is extremely convenient. Rooms have been recently repainted and some updating has been done. An elevator is being installed now, which will improve carrying baggage to second floor.

    3
    « No Breakfast »

No complimentary breakfast was offered--only coffee. Wall heater was noisy. Light switch did nothing. I had to fumble my way in the dark to get to a lamp. Price of hotel seemed high considering that no breakfast was provided.

    « Highly recommended »

Highly recommended! Clean and very comfortable. 24 hour coffee/ hot chocolate service and fruit. Gift shop is very nice and fire place in lobby. Rachel & Jessica at front desk were professional, friendly & knew a lot about the area. They deserve a raise!

    « Great motel. »

We always stay here when passing through Butte because the property is clean and well maintained and the staff is truly friendly and helpful. It also helps that there is a really good restaurant in the motel.

    « Surprisingly Nice »

I was in town for work and stayed here for the week. The room was very quiet and comfortable. They keep coffee and fruit ready in the lobby at all times. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view from the hotel front door was amazing. There is a nice walking path in the gardens behind the hotel.

    « Very disappointed »

Up until our latest visit I would have rated this hotel highly, however our latest trip that has changed. We have stayed at this hotel every year for a number of years and were pleased with it, particularly with their dog facilities. But after passing out in their highly overheated spa, requiring attendance by police, two fire trucks and ambulance I was resuscitated and transported by ambulance to hospital emergency. This required my husband to add a day to our stay and juggle looking after our dog and checking in on me in hospital some distance away. Neither before or after I was released from hospital did anyone from the hotel, management or otherwise, check to see if they could assist my husband, or even to see if I had died. Obviously, this hotel is all about profit, not about its customers.

« Convient Dog Friendly stay »

Stay here about 5 times a year, rooms recently updated. Great spot if your traveling with a dog. Large dog friendly park adjacent to the rooms at the rear of the hotel. Jerimiah's Restaurant shares the front parking lot, nice restaurant with reasonable prices. Only negative is there is a train track close by and you can hear the train pass in the middle of the night if one goes by.

« very clean and efficient staff »

    « Day in Ogden »

Check in staff was wonderful and helpful. Loved the grounds and the restaurant on site. There was construction work going on but did not disturb us at all. The only complaint was that there were so many flies in the room. It was like the prior guests or the cleaning staff left the door open. Killed 12 flies and there were still a couple in the room all night!!

    « Great Stop »

Great property, great and interesting grounds and very helpful people. We had a minor maintenance problem on a Sunday evening and it was handled very quickly by a gentleman who was called in from home to do the work. What's not to like about this hotel? Will always stay here when driving I 15.

    « Great Stay! »

After a long day of driving, this hotel was heaven! Check-in was a breeze, very friendly staff, room was spacious with comfy beds, and tasty breakfast. Would definitely stay there again, and wanted to stay there longer than we could!

    « Comfortable room »

The bed was very comfortable, which has to be my first priority. Staff helpful. We have stayed here so many times I have lost track. Always meets my expectations. Easy on and off from the freeway. Any time we are close to Ogden, we always choose this Best Western.

    « Comfortable Room »

My husband and I stayed in the Executive Suite with a king bed for the space. The room had excellent wifi, was clean and comfortable, and the suite was a good size. Unfortunately, they had a lighting problem and we had to all the desk to ask for an additional table lamp, which they did bring fairly quickly. We would stay here again.

    « And a Park ... »

A very quite hotel. The room was clean and did not smell of cleaning products. They do not serve a free breakfast but the restaurant located on the property has reasonable prices, the wait staff were attentive, the food was quite good. A big plus if you have children or four legged friends traveling with you, the hotel has a private park behind the hotel. A big item for me, the room cool/heating system was whisper quite, something I have never had in any hotel.

We found our interaction with Best Western PLUS High Country Inn, Ogden, UT, to be efficient and comfortable. It left us wanting to stay longer to take advantage of the amenities and the sights of the area.

I would highly recommend this Inn. We arrived in Ogden after being on the road for over a week. We found the staff very friendly and extremely helpful. « Conveniently located near the Interstate »

This motel is pretty close to I-84/I-15, with several gas stations and places to eat nearby. It is always clean and well maintained, and reasonably quiet. There's no elevator, though. Free coffee in the morning, too.

    4
    « Comfortable Hotel »

We arrived about 8:00 p.m., and the first thing we heard was a train going by. Luckily, that was the only one. They were working on the parking lot, so there was limited parking space and there was caution tape everywhere so it was confusing to figure out where you were supposed to go with your car. Also they were putting in an elevator right outside our room so a bit noisy in the morning. Room was clean. There was internet, and in room coffee.

    « excellent stary »

What made this visit special was the lady at the desk when we arrived. She was friendly and had a lot of information for us. She gave us tips on what restaurants and attractions in the area, trips we might want to take. Room was clean and beds were comfortable.

    « Not Great! »

If you are here on business don't stay! From the greeting with a sullen front desk clerk, to the noisy construction to no water in the morning and then getting water but them not knowing to flip the switch on the hot water heater so you don't have time to shower, pick one. Horrible outdated accommodations, don't stay here, there is NO PLUS HERE!!!
