This will be long, but well worth it. It is what I sent the manager after our stay.... Hello David, We arrived on Sept 7th, the beginning of a 3 week hiking/driving tour of several states. The desk clerk, Michael, greeted us as if we had been to the hotel often, welcoming us like old friends. We hadn't made it to a store yet and he helped us with water and getting us hot water for tea. In fact, we had such a good stay (clean & comfortable room & services) that we made a another reservation for your hotel, for the night before our flight at the end of the month. Then, 2+ weeks into our trip, when we were evacuated from a stay and hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we had to make new plans. We wound up in Asheville, but the next day the flooding sent us fleeing. Thankfully your hotel had a room for us. When we arrived it was 3 hours early in a heavy wind and rain storm. We asked Demi (at the desk) if we could stay in the lobby until check in time, due to the weather. Not only did Demi greet us as Michael had, she asked housekeeping to get a room ready for us as soon as they could. And they did! Camilla, who not only cleaned a room quickly (and it was clean!) but asked us if we needed anything else, giving us a couple extra items when she found out we were staying extra days. Later, when we passed her in the hall, she again asked if we had all we needed. As the weather predictions went downhill, we were concerned we would not make our flight on Sat and would not have a room if others fled the storm and filled rooms. When I spoke to Demi about my fears, she assured me she would keep an eye on reservations and if it looked like the hotel was filling, she would let us know so we could make a decision about booking another night. Thankfully we, and our prayer team friends, had prayers answered by a faithful God, and Oakwood had nothing like the storm weather that had been predicted! At your hotel we were able to shelter from the storm and enjoy a staff (Demi, Michael, the breakfast staff, etc) who made us feel at home and handed out hellos and smiles in a way that made us forget that the last week of our trip had fallen apart. Thank you to our "now favorite" Best Western hotel.
Stayed here 1 night to attend a wedding. We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly and we travel with our dog. It was very easy to book a pet friendly room on their website. On arrival the staff was pleasant and our room was ready. Room was well kept, and very large. We had a 2 room king suite on the first floor right by the door next to the pet “relief” area. This made traveling with a dog very convenient. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was great. We are the complimentary breakfast and we're pleased with the selections. Would stay here again.
The hotel compares in quality and appeal as any Marriott Courtyard and better than som Fairfield Inns. The room was large with an entry foyer with seating. The blackout shades were pull down & completely sealing out light (as the curtain type fail at) For bath lovers, it is a shower only. Free breakfast typical of other hotels.
One night unfortunately. Returning from meeting with family in the mountains and then make ping a stop to meet a long ago friend. She recommended you as the place to meet (where she always recommends to any other coming to visit her).
The rooms are clean, the whole facility was renovated a couple of years ago and is in excellent condition. Walk-in shower, free breakfast, coffee all day long, outdoor pool. The employees are all very friendly and professional, outstanding nice is Demi. Good place to stay. Stayed there a few times already and will definitely be back.
I am self-employed and travel a lot for business and this is one of my favorite hotels to stay in. The staff and facility are top notch, hotel is secure, and while I think it is priced a tad high, it does ensure that the clientele is generally of a higher quality.
This location was great. Very safe and quiet suburb area. Lots of food and shopping choices. The Front desk was superb, very kind and attentive. The room was clean and a little worn. The bathroom was not great. The breakfast was good and nice selections. It was easy to find and the rooms were quiet even though they were fully booked.
Hotel was great this was the 2nd time I've stayed here. Fast check in, clean room friendly staff. Good snack selection
The room was fine with two queen beds and a couch. Breakfast room is in a small area with tables close together. Construction of another hotel is right behind the Best Western at room window level.
This is one of my favorite places to stay in the area. they always cater to my needs as I usually travel with a boat fishing tournaments.
Travelled for my nephew's and wanted to stay with a name i recognized. First ever experience with BWPlus. It was truly a great experience. Service was amazing with friendly and attentive staff. Rooms were clean, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great.
This is an excellent place to stay! Very clean and the staff was all very friendly and helpful! Check in was and out was easy and quick.
Excellent, clean, modern, great staff, super happy with this place, they are a quality establishment. Will be back for sure, enjoyed time at the nice computers, and breakfast buffett this morning as well. We were both super impressed with this hotel.
Staff were helpful. First room we were allocated, only 1 light worked, there was blood splattered on bathroom wall. So as it was 11pm, we were then moved to another room. 2 lights worked but as the member of staff was about to leave, there was blood stains on pillow case and mascara on other, so were told as no other rooms were available they were just changed. We were staying for 5 nights, we left towels out to be changed they were taken but no fresh ones left, we asked at reception and was told they had no spare towels so had to do without any. Breakfast was OK, pool looked dirty, dogs in rooms were barking constantly. We paid a lot more for room as the gatornationals were on, if we go back we wouldn't choose to stay here again.
This is definitely one of my favorite stays. From check in to check out was flawless and quick. The room was immaculately clean. The staff went above and beyond for me. Assistant General Manager Corey Rucker was the kindest. The breakfast was good with pancake maker, fruits, breads, pastries, cereal ,hot eggs and bacon or sausage. I would definitely choose this hotel while visiting the area.
I travel for work and spend 320 nights per year in hotel rooms. I was so pleased with this newly renovated hotel. It is very nice and clean. I constantly saw people cleaning the windows and lobby. The breakfast was great and my room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel. Tom from Kansas City
The decor was gorgeous, but the marble top coffee table was too heavy to move to access the sleep sofa! Ridiculous accommodations for two people who weren't planning on sharing a bed. The parking lot is small and cramped, hard to find a space to park after an evening out.
Wonderful Staff-Michael was extremely helpful getting us oriented and settled. Enjoyed the breakfast options and a clean, quiet, safe stay close to the highway. Not far from Clemson, and quick great fall drive to it from the hotel. Large Rooms with ref and microwave a plus. Too cool for a pool, but looked clean and inviting-if we had been in the summer months.
Nice hotel with great amenities and friendly staff always available to assist to make your stay enjoyable. Modern facility to include many updates! Staff available to assist and polite with respectful treatment. Great breakfast either hot or cold. Modern fitness center with good options and clean!
The room was not vacuumed, and the bathroom was not cleaned. There was dirt in the corners and on the floor. I feel that all the bedding was not changed! The day shift desk employee was awesome she was very accommodating and willing to help in any way that she could.
I have not stayed in a Best Western for many years due to 2 previous experiences. I decided to give this one a try as it was in the area we wanted to be. I was not expecting much. This hotel proved to be a great choice. The employees were so nice. The room was huge and very clean. The breakfast room was very clean and there were a lot of choices. Would definiitely stay here again!
Do yourself and your family a favor and stay elsewhere. It's a big world out there and you have choices, exercise your free will and your family will thank you. I'll leave the details to your imagination. Do yourself a favor, stay elsewhere. May you have a more pleasant stay than I had. Safe and happy travels to all who read this :) You're welcome :)
I want to start by saying I stay at a lot of low-end/mid hotels for work and this experience was pretty awful. I also don't expect a lot from hotels like this one - just a bed, a door that locks, and a working bathroom. However, during this trip the toilet in my room clogged EVERY TIME I flushed it and the staff's solution was to give me a plunger - no offer to help or switch me to a new room. Absolutely disgusting. Aside from that nightmare, my room was fine, not the cleanest and nothing special. I didn't feel the safest in the parking lot as a young female - there were always strange men hanging around the parking lot and in their trucks. One of the only things I liked about this stay was how quiet my room was - I didn't hear any other guests while sleeping, which was nice.
Nice quiet clean hotel right off main hwy. Stayed two nights, breakfast was fine nothing special but good, coffee pods in room did not suit my taste but are okay. Dunkin and Starbucks are with in walking distance. Room was newly remodeled and clean. Pool was nice, workout room lacks good equipment - has basic stuff. Staff was very friendly - as a female traveling alone I felt safe. Parking lot was well lit at night etc. Lobby smells amazing-- I think the location is excellent if you want to be in a quiet area at night and have quick easy access into the busier areas in GA...
I have stayed at the Best Western Plus several times, this is my favorite place to stay when I'm in the area. If I'm in the area and there's no rooms available at Best Western Plus, I do not or will not stay at any other hotel.
We arrived at the hotel late after a long day on the road. There was a warm fire in the fireplace and a warm reception at the front desk. When we got to our room, our 10-year-old daughter was first in the shower. It was well past her bed time. When she could not get the hot water to work, she fell apart with tiredness and frustration. My wife could not get it to work either, so she called the front desk. The clerk asked her to try reversing the direction of the faucet, because in some rooms they had been installed backwards (although he was not aware of that being the case in our room). So my daughter tried that and it worked. I think that experience colored the rest of her stay. In my opinion the problem was solved and it was overall a good hotel. I told her so, but I don't think she was ever convinced.
Hotels looks much nicer than it is. Booked a handicap assessable room, because we needed it. Bathroom smelled bad, no grab bar in shower, shower holder on side of the shower broken and coming off the wall, bathroom floods all the way out to entrance.(now I know why it smells). They know there are problems and are doing nothing about them. Management does not respond to complaints. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!
My daughter and I needed a room very quickly. We were very happy with our whole experience. Helpful and kind staff, clean, quiet room, and nice amenities. The breakfast and coffee were hot and fresh. We were very pleased.
The blinds were broke which caused the outdoor lights to beam through the windows all night. I didn't sleep well due to that light. The room was nice, cozy and clean but I should have been compensated for my list of sleep and early departure
The pillows here are clean as well as the entire hotel but uncomfortable. They are knotty from washing. Great location with wonderful restaurants near by and also a Sam's Club for gas and a Starbucks for coffee. Our favorite motel in Oakwood Ga BUT bring your own pillows.
Beware all Travelers. Check your invoices. The hotel staff steals money from your credit card in increments as they post charges past the total amount. If you've stayed here the last 90 days, Look at your invoice. At the amounts up compare to what is actually charged. This happened to me and I have the proof and the emails from their management. I've tried to work it out with the hotel AGM for the last 4 weeks with no avail. My credit card was charged initially $8, then $21, next, $96, then eventually over $2000 DOLLARS. I cannot emphasize this enough. Check your invoices. I've contacted Best Western, the credit card company. Next will be the BBB. The question is, How many people have they done this to?? Business travelers, go elsewhere. Do not stay here.
The whole staff was awesome, great breakfast bar clean room comfortully bed. A lot of places to eat. at least two golf course close by, Tracy and her staff were awesome. Pool area is small but suffient.
Tracy the general manager was awesome. The breakfast bar was super with hot and cold items. The employees who work 3rd shift was also very nice. I will stay at this hotel in the future if in the area. There is also a great golf course within 2 miles of the hotel.
My husband and I were visiting family in Gainesville and decided to stay at the Best Western for four nights. The hotel and staff were very welcoming, accommodating and pleasant. Our room was very comfortable and loved the breakfast!
Clean, comfortable, helpful, friendly. It was an excellent experience. I hate that this survey is a minimum of 200 words. I do recommend that you join the rewards program. It is worth it. I am a diamond member.
Surpringly nice for a pet friendly hotel. The staff was helpful. Our room was very clean when we arrived. Breakfast was tasty and warm. We did not have maid service since we had two dogs in the room. Maids always asked if we needed anything for the room. The only reason I did not give them a 5 was the lack of working WiFi. Very nice place to stay.
Over 20 years ago I have written them off, but now they are among some of the best hotels around. I'm glad they made it back. Everything was soooo much better than I had back in the day, I would surely consider that hotel again.
It is a very nice and clean with updated rooms. Staff is friendly and responsive. Dog walking are is large and clean and bags are provided. Good breakfast too with a no touch pancake station. Highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed 2 nights for a youth regatta on Lake Lanier. We were supposed to stay at a local Fairfield Suites but the price was insane. I found a good rate at this hotel and although it was a bit farther from the race site, it worked out well. The hotel is very clean and our king bed was very comfortable. Excellent water pressure in the shower. The pullout bed could use a better mattress, but my daughter is young, her bones could deal with it. The staff is friendly and the manager is there to assist you with any issues that may arise. He is top notch. We will return next year.
I just wanted a place to sleep for my family and myself without inconveniencing my family in GA. We were there on a sad note but back in October we were there for a great event . Will choose this Hotel in the future, great central location to visit ATL and GA family.
This was a great place to stay. I chose it for their pet friendly policy. I do not usually spend that much for a hotel, but it was nice. Both the day and night staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was surprised and disappointed in the Grab a Bag and Go breakfast and the fact that it did not have a bathtub. Otherwise, this was a superb place to stay.
The staff was above board with my needs.I stayed at the Best Western Plus in the Duluth Ga. area and it was horrible.I would recommend the Lake Lanier property to anyone. The surrounding area was perfect for the plans we had
My room was very clean, well decorated, and the furniture (sofa/chair) actually appeared clean! The shower was wonderful, nice water pressure, and a nice shower head! The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioner worked well. Overall, very pleased. They allow dogs, put have a pet fee.
This was the most expensive hotel night on our entire trip, and at a Best Western which we always try to stay at. The young girl at the reception desk was very sweet and helpful. The room( handicap) was new, very modern with a "designer decor", but VERY unfriendly for any one with a handicap, especially mobility. The shower was large(roll in) and had no bars to hang on to. When showering the floor was pitched wrong making the water run all over the bathroom floor and out into the entry hall. I had to put towels on the floor to provide a safe footing for my husband. Topping it all off was the "to go" breakfast, a bag with small water, tangerine, granola bar and mini muffins. Any nutritionist would tell you that it was not a healthy breakfast, especially for a diabetic needing protein. We ended up at a restrurant where we could order eggs. "Covid " seems to have given many places an excuse to cut on their service, and quality, but not reduce their price!!
Hotel had bed bugs. Management was not on site the day we discovered/left and couldn't reach them for four days. When the manager finally was reached they claimed there were no bed bugs, despite the pictures on my phone and bites. Wouldn't recommend staying here.
I travel with a rather large dog and often find it hard locating a hotel that allows large dogs. Best Western in Oakwood, Georgia accepted her with open arms. The pet fee was only $20 too which is much better than other places where the pet is as much as the room cost. The rooms were very clean and orderly. The staff was very friendly. The location was also great.
This was the first time in a while since I have stayed in a Best Western, I definetly will be staying there again very soon on our next trip. The apperance inside and out was very clean, well maintained. The location was excellent, well lit and convient to shopping and resturants, and right beside interstate. The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom had a nice big walk in shower. The price was very good, I don't know why I haven't been to a Best Western for my hotel stays in a while, but we definetly will be using Best Western hotels for our enjoyment while traveling in the near future.
I stayed in this hotel from 5/27 to 5/30 - 4 nights and I had a booking for my friend as well against conf # 64848 and 65228 respectively At the time of check-in, we have made it clear to the front office that one room to be charged on my card and another to be on my friend's card. They did exactly except the for the last night they charged both my card and my friend's card. I spoke to their staffs and then to their General Manager Mr. David on Tuesday, Friday and this last Tuesday(6/8), he confirmed me that he has advised his staff to refund but even after couple of emails and few phone calls NO REFUND ($117.70) but now the staff is saying no more refund and they are disconnecting my calls. This way of treating the customer, not maintaining their words/ confirmations/ promises and holding my personal money is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I will wait for my hard earned money until I proceed for the next steps. Thanks Suresh sureshanandaraj@gmail.com
This hotel is still using Grab and Go breakfast, and it consists of a stale muffin, granola bar, orange, small bottled water. The ice machine and laundry are not available either. Even though these amenities have been shut down, the front desk staff did not wear face masks. We stay at BW a lot and almost always have a great experience, but this hotel is not typical. It certainly does not qualify for the BW "Plus" designation.
Our 2 night stay was very nice. Everyone was extremely friendly. The room was clean, bed was comfy and bathroom was very nice. Only problem is that the refrigerator did not seem to cool too well-but we only stored drinks in there so it was not a big problem. Great location!
Property and staff were very nice. The welcome for our pet was much appreciated. Location of the property was centrally located for the tasks we needed to accomplish while at the hotel. A wide variety of dining options were nearby.
First impression was good, however when we got to our floor it immediately smelled of smoke. We were there 4 nights and had trouble with ants in the room the whole time. In addition, parking was roped off for two trucks with boats and left hardly any parking for anyone else. Had much higher expectations for this hotel given the ratings.
This hotel was pretty nice, one of the better ones. Priced right. Ready to be done with the bagged breakfast, but otherwise pretty good experience. The girl at the front desk (Jada) was polite and friendly.
Looking for a place to stay near Free Chapel church - stayed here 2 nights was very pleased- nice rooms comfy beds walk-in shower- nice separate coffee and drink stationing rooms including coffee maker fridge and microwave- rooms are updated and wood floors - everything was well cleaned- friendly staff - grab and go breakfast- close to many food options - would definitely recommend and come back here again
Check-In took about 20mins. due to being very busy, yet, the young lady did a very good job multi-tasking. Quiet night, nice water pressure and plenty of hot water:) Room came off clean:) No breakfast offered, yet, they had great hot fresh coffee:) $120 a night with nothing really special is a little high in our opinion and WE stay at BW's allllllllllllllllll the time:) Bed was to soft and pillows to long for me. Check-Out was quick:) Great location...............
Convenient location close to highway exit. Quiet, seemed safe.. Many dining amenities nearby and Dunkin Donuts for morning coffee right in front :) Yay! Hotel and room presented and smelled clean and fresh. A pleasurable stay.
We almost never travel with our dogs not wanting to put other traveler out . We had no choice this time I have 2 big dogs and found that This motel was pet friendly. i wasnt sure what that meant thinking maybe they had one room they used for all travelers with pets . The room was very clean and you couldnt tell other pets had been there . Their entire first floor is pet friendly and several other guests had pets while we were there. The staff was friendly and helpful and didnt seem to mind the dogs maybe even enjoyed seeing them. The bed was great and the room was almost too quiet.
Room was dirty. Surfaces Not wiped down from previous guests. Hair on the tables. The room was Very Unclean. The bathroom had snot on the walls. I complained to the front desk. The next day they changed out the trash and gave clean towels so I called and was told they only wipe down between guests.
This hotel is NE of Atlanta and just before Gainesville, Ga. It makes a great stop off on our way to North Caroline. I would recommend this hotel, the check in was easy, the front desk was friendly and pleasant. I like that they had a 2 page letter explaining their cleaning process as well as room and check in. Made me and my wife feel very comfortable.
Clean hotel and staff were friendly, but they messed up our reservation and charged us for other people's rooms. After a month have still not been able to get our money back. The general manager is very hard to get in touch with which is making the whole process very frustrating.
Came to Dawsonville to get peace and quiet and to pray for direction. Fighting cancer for the 4th time. After leaving a run down super 8. Best Western was a beacon of light when I needed it most!! AMEN
The hotel is located just off 985. The rooms are nicely decorated. They were doing some remodeling work on the outside when we arrived. We only interacted with the night staff, she was very friendly and courteous. There was plenty of parking. There were several fast food restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
The elevator kept breaking down. Someone got stuck on the elevator the last time it broke. Grab and go breakfasts had the same thing in it every morning, so if you didn't like it on day one, you didn't like it day four. The third floor room was very difficult to cool and you would wake up sweating in the middle of the night. However, the hotel was very clean and I appreciated the extra precautions.
The staff upfront was nice, but this location is NOT for eworking. The internet is lack-luster, the associates will NOT come into your room to clean. I did not have ANY of my linens changed through my six days I have spent with Best Western.
This is the second time we stayed at this hotel. Our first stay was during the remodel of the property. We had no complaints whatsoever. However this trip was much different. From broken light sockets to a broken ac unit to the smell of marijuana in the air and very little communication among staff. Definitely not high on our recommendation list.
We were very happy with our stay at Best Western Plus at Lake Lanier in Oakwood. Very nice hotel for the money. Very clean, which was my priority. Newly renovated. Friendly staff. Breakfast was just ok. Conviently located. Would definitely stay again. We will be back in Georgia in February and will most likely stay here again. Exceeded expectations.
The bed is so comfortable, felt like memory foam. The entire stay was very quiet. The breakfast was good and everything was clean. The decor was nice and cozy and all furniture was extremely comfortable. All staff were very pleasant.
My family and I have used this hotel multiple times over the past 4 years. They go above and beyond for my family and friends during their stay. We've used the hospitality suite and lobby area, given good rates. During a very stressful time they make a difficult time just a little bit easier. The rooms are nice, clean and good size. The breakfast offered has a good variety and is tasty. There is always hot coffee and cookies available in the lobby! The staff goes above and beyond!! I highly recommend using this hotel in the Gainesville, Oakwood, Flowery Branch area!!
The hotel and room were typically good for Best Western, well-appointed, clean and comfortable will all amenities you might need. Check-in staff was efficient and friendly, as were all staff. Was out the door too early to take advantage of breakfast this time, but loaded up on ice from the machine which is always good to have. There was some tenting and large trucks taking up lots of parking space, so had to park in an adjacent lot, but not a big deal.
Best Western is always clean and attractive and the best value in the area. Their breakfast selection is good. No problems using their internet in our room. This is our go to place when visiting family in Flowery Branch.
This hotel is in a convenient spot and was very comfortable. We only stayed here one night, so I wasn't able to use any of the extra goodies. The only thing was that I didn't realize it was a pet friendly hotel and heard a dog barking at 11pm wondering what that was ha. Whoops. Overall though, it was a very nice place!
This was one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. The lobby and ground area was spotless as well as our room and bathroom. The shower looks practically brand new but what surprised me is that the glass in all of it was spotless! Definitely recommend this hotel!
My stay was very nice and staff was very friendly and kind. The Hotel was very clean and quite, even though they appeared to be busy. I was in a very nice area but yet secluded. Breakfast area was well maintained and kept clean.
Hubby and I were very happy with our stay here. We had a hard time finding a hotel that was Pet Friendly and the manager knew of our situation and welcomed us . Every one was wonderful and the breakfast was excellent.
I do track days often at Road Atlanta and this is my choice for my over night stay, close to the track and near the high way. Best pillows as for a hotel stay as well. Never slept better. Pool is nice as well kids had a great time
Pleasant, very clean, quiet, accommodated staff. Not much more to say than excellent hotel. Would definitely use this hotel again when visiting the area. This was my second stay at Best Western and as stated already excellent.
We always stay at this Best Western when we travel to see Georgia Bulldogs football. The location as approximately 40 miles from Athens, Ga. Have never been disappointed in this hotel. The ease of making reservations and checking out and the friendly staff. The location is perfect for us. There is always coffee in the lobby for coffee drinkers like me!
We have stayed in this motel several times when we have medical procedures which require an over night stay. We live 2 1/2 hrs. from Gainesville , Ga. This motel is an easy on and off from 985. The staff is always helpful. The grounds are well kept as are the rooms. We travel with pets and they are welcome at this motel. We usually book the Pet Suite so our little dog doesn't disturb other guest with barking when we are away from the motel.
The tv stand was broke, the bathroom door handle was falling off, the shower would not stay closed, room was hot, the refrigerator was broken, the furniture was nasty and ice machine was broke — do not stay here!!!
Stayed. Priced right for Military Member. Room was Outstanding. Breakfast was very satisfying. Location is Beautiful and Safe. Staff are reliable and Always helpful. If I ever am back in this vicinity again I will not hesitate to stay at this property.
It was my pleasure to return again - southern hospitality is still alive and well! John W and his great crew made my stay so enjoyable. Brenda worked hard feeding breakfast to dozens of college rowers with same humor and grace as last year. There was a quirk with the pool which caused a pause in running water but was late at night and a small inconvenience overall. Once again, I felt safe as a single traveler. I hope to go back again!
This property is under construction. It smelled really bad on the third floor; not sure if there was a problem with the sewer? I went to the pool to relax and I saw a carload of kids pull up and get dropped off at the pool. This continued through the evening. Evidently local teens use the pool for themselves. I am sure that management is aware of this because there were too many kids there for such a small hotel.
We stopped on our way back from a day in Helen. Although they are being remodeled, the facility is clean, our room on the 3rd floor was clean, quiet and A/C worked perfectly. The bathroom was extremely clean and well lit. The oversized shower was a nice bonus. Definitely recommend staying here. My feeling is that if they keep the facility and rooms this well during a remodel, this facility will always be worth staying at.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating!! It was an enjoyable experience. The hotel is undergoing renovations but honestly it didn't impact our stay. There are a good bit of food choices close by. The hotel is pet friendly which is why we stayed there with our new puppy. It was really clean too.
The location is very good for local restaurants and Lake Lanier is nearby. The MALL OF GEORGIA is a short drive with great shopping. Flowery Branch is home to the Atlanta Falcons and they have a beautiful training facility there.
We have stayed here in the past and were eager to rebook for a 4-night stay this week while visiting family in the area. Overall, our stay was really good. The staff at this hotel truly SHINES! Everyone was nice and went out of their way to help us. The only thing that disappointed us was that they are doing some major overhauls on 3rd floor rooms, so we had a lot of daytime noise in our 2nd floor room. They workers were good to not start before 8 AM and finish by 5 PM, so if you're just staying for overnight, it won't be an issue. Twice during the week the water was turned off for a few hours, but the front desk made sure we knew about it immediately. The only thing that I considered a problem was the "door to nowhere" on the 2nd floor---it used to lead to stairwell that led down to the lobby. They've torn the stairwell out, but didn't block the door, only posted a "Keep Out: Construction" sign. I mentioned to the front desk that I was concerned about safety (we have a preschooler) and was told the door couldn't be locked. Later that evening, though, they put up some caution tape. It was better than nothing, but in the event of a fire, etc., I'm not sure it's the safest thing. Also, the 1st floor ice and vending machines and fitness room are all currently unavailable. But bottom line is, the hotel is great, conveniently located to tons of restaurants and stores, and the staff really goes the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We will stay here again, and look forward to seeing the newly remodeled rooms!
I will definitely stay here again. Jazmin was very helpful and pleasant at check-in. Hotel is convenient to many eating establishments and very close to Camping World which is where I had business the next morning. The hotel was very quiet and the mattress could not have been more comfortable.
I stayed here for one night in June 2019 while traveling for work. I asked for a quiet room and for some reason that meant the handicapped accessible room. That was not all that quiet actually. The room was clean and nice sized. The bed was also very comfortable. The only downsides- the bathroom. Since it was the handicapped accessible room it had an adjustable shower head.... and it kept falling down.... which was a giant pain while trying to shower. There was not a lot of counter space near the sink and the sink also had a super slow drain. Otherwise, it was a totally fine hotel room.
Make sure you check your bill before you go I told the clerk I had charges and she said no will got home to find new bill and she tried to charge me for the room when I got it from priceline.com had no idea what or how to read a bill to guest. And why is the pool not open when I stayed in a BW not 90 minutes away this resort needs work consistency..Now the C/I cast work will ..
I was pleased with this hotel - it offered everything we needed for our visit to Road Atlanta - comfortable bed; good A/C; big sink; nice shower; good TV with lots of options; good wifi; decent breakfast
We have stayed here many times. Friendliest staff, very clean, Not over priced for the value you get, like other brands in the area, breakfast is always nice, will stay there on our next trip!!!! I know with space constraints it's probably impossible but the parking is the only tiny complaint I have.
Good clean place to stay. 2nd time staying at this location. Only issue is that the walls are paper thin and you here every conversation and door close all through the night. Very convenient to Road Atlanta and local restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western, Lake Lanier. We sat in the lobby in front of the fire place in the morning enjoying the free coffee while we waited for the breakfast, which was very good. The woman preparing things and making sure the breakfast food was filled was absolutely wonderful and the perfect start to our day. Staff was good and the room was a nice size - larger than the last hotel we stayed in with a double queen set up. We'd stay there again.
Stayed for 2 weeks. Inside building very clean. Staff was always helpful. Our suite was roomy which made you feel like you were comfortably at home. Breakfast was your usual food. Only complaint was all the trash on backside of hotel from the residents not cleaning up their trash which made our view not so nice. One day stay you would probably not be bothered 2 weeks same trash view got old.
Safe location, friendly staff. Easy access to Gainesville, Georgia and to Atlanta area/airport. Rooms are looking tired and worn out. Not a place for a vacation, but is adequate if you need to stay near Gainesville.
My stay was just OK. The hotel is showing it's age. At first glance looks nice, but the closer you look things are just a little tattered :-(. I think they must have just worked on the plumbing (at least that's what I hope it was)... When I turned the shower on the water ran blue / black for the first couple minutes... Wasn't a pleasant why to start the morning BEFORE coffee. People where nice. Overall not bad, but not great either.
Great location, great service, very nice people, close to many places to eat. Quiet and just 10 minutes to Road Atlanta Race track. Stayed there a number of times, and will go back. Easy parking and great cookies
This was the cleanest , nicest hotel. It was pet friendly which is great for people to be able to bring their little frineds. It smelt so good & clean as soon as you walked into the lobby. Our room was wonderful. The location was great---lots of restaurants close by. This hotel is top of our list an we will stay here again
Older hotel with some updating to be considered by home office but does allow pets so its why we selected it. Budget hotel chain but they get it regarding people not wanting to leave travel capable pets at home alone. Less stress on traveler equals happier customer willing to consider less accomodations. Keeping it clean and comfortable beds can offset an older property. Wish Marriott would "get it" and climb aboard for the big win.
I had the pleasure of being a guest again in the Best Western this weekend. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great. This is my 2nd stay here. I have not been disappointed in either visit and would recommend this Best Western to my friends and family.
This Best Western was very well organized and my room was excellent clean and the front desk was very friendly. The location was very convenient for where I needed to got to work for 3 days. I have also made reservations for my next visit to Oakwood/Gainsville Ga. I would recommend this place to my friends for sure
During college football season, we stay at this location when we are in Athens, Georgia for UGA football. It is approximately an hour away from Athens and is on our way home. Perfect location for us to stay and the hotel is always clean, the suite is comfortable, and the staff is great.
Never imagined that I would score a Best Western hotel with five-stars, but this place earned it without question. The number of nice places to stay in Hall County, Georgia is rather limited but this hotel is a standout. I honestly can't think of one negative thing to say about it. First, the location is good with shopping and restaurants nearby. There's a Hardee's at the entrance if you don't feel like driving anywhere. The rooms are both spacious and clean, and the heating and cooling system was perfect and fairly quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the pillows surpassed my expectations. Breakfast in the morning was complimentary and delicious. Plenty of hot and cold choices, and room to sit and spread the newspaper out. At night, there were freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and you could take as many as you wanted. And, the staff was so nice and courteous throughout the entire day and evening. The large screen TV had excellent reception and a wide variety of channels. Maybe a listing of all the channels would help, because I couldn't seem to find one. If and when I return to this part of Georgia this will be the place where I stay. No need to look anywhere else!
said they had new bed pillow top. if so the pillow top was very thin bed was really hard . the bathroom stool was so short you felt like you where sitting in the floor , and Im very short fell sorry for a tall person .The caulking around the tub was the worst , couldn't get the shower to work, the lighting in the room was very dim and the room was dark . Had a good tv picture .The hot breakfast was dried out powered eggs, real greasy bacon ,oats, cereal, waffles, milk, coffee,oj i thought it was very high price 137.16 a nite 2 people I was very unhappy with this place But other people like it ?
Lovely room, great service. Didn't use the pool or any other amenities but our 3 day stay was very nice. Front desk helpful and provided what we needed right away on the couple of occasions I asked for something. They were very nice.
My husband gets his Motorcycle serviced in this area and we have stayed in and around this area. Jackpot, Best Western Plus does not disappoint. Quietly tucked in a great location, we were checked in by a lovely lady . Upon entering our room clean, inviting room that met all our needs. Keurig in our room , cookies in the afternoon. I would say we hit the JACKPOT! This hotel will be our only second return choice.
The best part of our stay was the excellent breakfast bar which was clean and constantly replenished by a friendly staff member. In addition, the breakfast facility wrapped their fruit (e.g., apples and bananas) which again demonstrated the hotel's focus on cleanliness.
This was such a pleasant surprise for a hotel in this price range. Very nice, clean rooms and charming decor, breakfast was good. Only complaint was condition of pavement of parking lot (which was under repair) and too tiny pool. Would definitely stay again. Good location with a Starbucks next door.
We were very pleased with our stay here. Wonderful front desk staff---Tyler helped us get 2 adjoining rooms so that my elderly father could be close to us, even though I had kinda messed up my booking requests online. Thanks, Tyler! The breakfast area was nice, the pool was well-kept and enjoyable. The hotel sits a little ways off the highway, up a hill, so it's pretty quiet. The parking spaces near the front of the hotel are kind of awkward to get in and out of, but that's the only drawback we found. Located on a main highway so there are lots of dining options close at hand. Clean rooms.
I was very pleased with the property from ease of check in and out to the nice daily breakfast (included.) good value. I felt perfectly safe alone five days, coming and going any time of day or night. Staff was always courteous and helpful. Clean inside and out. Centrally located for everything I wanted to do (first time visitor from the west coast.) Extra credit to Brenda who handled breakfast for dozens of rowdy collegiate rowers with grace and humor.
The entrance to the hotel is confusing because there are two streets. Don't use the street on the west end, Mundy Mill Drive, it's a narrow entrance and had a big pothole on the way in. Use the east entrance, Oakwood Road. There is no BW sign on Mundy Mill Road, which is Highway 53. The parking lot is small, parking is tight. Check-in was easy and person at the desk was nice and very helpful. Carpet in hallway and in the room had stains and didn't look very clean. The room was on the first floor. Light coming in under exit door to the pool. Light comes in under room door. Apparently they allow pets. If known, would not have stayed here. Pets bring in fleas and ticks. Room had a slight odor of a urine smell. The microwave and fridge were by the window next to the curtain. Why put a microwave next to a curtain? The room seem to be somewhat for people with disabilities but the layout was not well designed. The bathroom was very odd. One sink and hardly had any countertop space. No shelf underneath the sink. No towel hooks by the tub/shower. The only hooks are on the door that is 7 feet from the shower. Grab bar by the toilet and one in the tub/shower but if someone is in a wheelchair, how can they get in to take a shower. The shower head is for a person with a wheelchair but it's not a walk-in shower. Odd? A person that is 6 feet, the shower head at the highest adjustment will be at your chest. No grab bars by the front of the tub/shower. Door into the bathroom was wide enough for a person in a wheelchair. The hotel needs remodeling. It needs attention. Also the coffee tasted bitter. It's either the brand of coffee or the coffee was never fresh or the coffee thermoses were not being cleaned or all three! I didn't try the breakfast after drinking the coffee, I lost my appetite. If it was a very nice hotel I would definitely give that kind of review but it isn't. I don't like giving negative reviews for any business but I have to be truthful. I guess some people just have a different opinion of what they expect. I have stayed in many, many hotels in my life and for this to be a Best Western and the shape it is in, it would be better to be one of those low cost hotels. I hope they remodel and make it a really nice hotel but for now, I would not come back here. And again, if I had known they allowed pets, I wouldn't even stayed here and this review would not have been posted. Come on Best Western, you can do better!
This Best Western Plus Property is situated within a Beautiful Location, Just a few miles away from Lake Lanier, in close proximity to Dawsonville. The Service was Superb and the Room was Clean, Cozy and Comfortable. An added Bonus is Pet Friendliness. Shopping, Restaurants, Fuel, are all a Hop, Skip, and a Jump Away. Soooooo... If You are Looking for Fun and Relaxation, for the Entire Family, This Is The Place To Be. I Shall Return... Thank You Best Western Plus.
The Best Western Plus Lake Lanier Hotel & Suites is extremely nice, my room was clean and quiet and the free breakfast was AWESOME! I highly recommend this hotel as it is a quality hotel with great rates.
This was an exceptional place to stay for the value of price. Bed extremely comfortable, breakfast was very good; including plenty of bananas and apples. Fitness center was typical. The 1-bedroom suite was more like a mini-apartment having a small living area separated from the bedroom by the bathroom / coffee area, complete with
Stayed at this hotel while attending Moto America at Road Atlanta. The hotel is VERY clean. The staff is fabulous...very helpful and friendly. Many places to eat and shop in the area. Would highly recommend this place.
We've stayed at this Best Western Plus for YEARS and have always enjoyed our stay. If there was anything we needed, they were always accommodating and helpful. There are some great little restaurants just across the street that are yummy....Italian, Mexican, Sandwiches, and even the DQ for dessert! Then there's a Sam's just down the road for gas....who could ask for more?
While driving from Florida to Tennessee over night, we got tired at 3:30 am and decided to find a hotel to sleep for a few hours. Just about everyone on our route was booked or wanted $200 until we came across this hotel. They had a room so we stopped by. Very nice hotel and clean from the parking lot to the room. Very comfortable beds! GREAT pillows and soft fluffy towels. It seemed like the hotel just opened and we were one of the first to stay there bc everything seemed so fresh and new. Even though we only slept for 4 hours it felt like we got 8 hours of sleep. Went down and had breakfast, very clean breakfast area. The kids loved making their own waffles and they were delicious. Great choice of bagels and breads, fresh fruit and cereal. Other choices were eggs, bacon, hash browns and yogurt. Friendly staff, quick checkout and was even offered to go bags with fruit and water as well as coffee or tea to go. Great hotel right off of the highway.
Very clean...the whole hotel smells great..room was wonderful...centrally located..lots of restaurants around..walmart down the street..just cant say enough..staff was wonderful had a problem with my door when i arrived but was fixed in less than 10 min..
The property was conveniently located near the Road Atlanta race track. We were there through the long weekend and the hotel was in a great spot being only a few miles away. There are plenty of places to get a quick meal at the end of the day. The staff was very friendly.
I have visited this property several times this year and have not had any problems with the staff or the room that I have occupied. Everyone is very friendly and courteous and the grounds are always kept clean. Parking is a little tricky with the entrance but other than that, this property is a good choice.
This is our second time staying at this hotel. Convenient, clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for anyone in the area. Got chocolate and cookies on a snowy night added to the value. Felt safe and secure.
We made an unscheduled stop at the Gainsville GA location due to a winter storm in mid December while headed to Helen, GA. The clerk was very courteous and service was excellent. The winter storm had and affect on staffing, however the staff remained courteous and professionally dressed at all times.
My friends and I stayed at this hotel for a track weekend at Road Atlanta. It did everything we needed. Comfortable, quiet room with good amenities, good breakfast that started early enough for us to eat and still to get to the track early, good parking, and great proximity to the track, gas stations, and restaurants. We went purely because they had a group rate with our event, but now that I know it's a good place, I will definitely look at staying here again if I'm in the area.
Have stayed here in the past good price no complaints but this time the title sums it up. Manager gave basic text book responses and overall unhelpful, unemphatic and overall not concerned about the issue. Apparently "Room service thought I checked out," even though I booked it at a group rate that went through the weekend
It has been awhile, but my son and I stayed here last year. We didn't have a great experience, but received many apologies from corporate staff and I received additional points on my rewards membership. First, we were given a room that reeked of cigarette smoke. Our room was changed, the one of the lamps was broken and the tub drain was clogged. Hopefully, if we stay there again, we'll have a better experience. Thanks!
We needed a hotel room for just one night on our trip. We travel frequently to this area and this is the place that we always book. Very clean and has all the amenities that we need. Staff is friendly and is always efficient and ready to help with any issue you have.
Great stay. Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Great breakfasts with good selections. Friendly personnel. Plenty of parking. This is our second stay when we visit Riverside Military Academy. Plan to stay at this hotel again when we get back next year. Great value. we plan to be back next year
You should strongly consider this option if staying in or near Gainesville! Very convenient location. There are good restaurant options and shopping areas very nearby or within just a few miles north or south.
Everything was wonderful and met or exceeded expectations. A great place to stay if you are in the Gainesville/Lake Lanier area. Close and convenient to both the city of Gainesville and Lake Lanier. Not too far from Atlanta.
Spacious, clean rooms with large double vanity in the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and check-in and check-out was efficient. The breakfast bar was well stocked. The location of this hotel is very convenient and the University of North Georgia Gainesville campus is just a few blocks away.
I arrived and it's a quiet hotel with an easy check-in. The room is Spacious and CLEAN! I love the lamps...see the pic. Easy to turn on and off and there is a dim and bright... best lamps in a hotel! AC/Heater works fine with no smell. Everything works great in the room. The bed was super comfortable. Pillows nice and fluffy. A nice and uncrowded breakfast in the morning, that included cooked oatmeal not a package (+), eggs, bacon, waffles you make of course LOL, and muffins and fruit. Added bonus: they have chocolate milk :) It's a nice hotel. The people are nice. I would recommend staying here, if you're traveling through.
Great customer service all around. Will definitely recommend to others and stay again in the future. Stayed in handicap accessible room which was large, clean, and nicely decorated. The complimentary breakfast was a good variety and always replenished. Thoroughly enjoyed my 4 day stay and will stay again.
This was a very nice hotel. Our 2 queen room had a separate living area with a chair & sofa that opened into a full size bed. 2 Tv's. Front desk staff was very friendly. Great hot breakfast & bagged breakfast if you needed to leave early.
Great value for lodging near Gainesville Ga. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was tastefully decorated and clean. The outdoor pool was small, but clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay here.
I had a small dog with me and we had no problems .....rooms clean....good breakfast....and good people. We traveled up there to pick up our new puppy. It was a great experience overall. We had an excellent prime rib sandwich for Room Service and some brownie pie thing. I highly recommend this hotel.
We evacuated our home in west central Florida a few days before hurricane Irma hit. This hotel treated us very well during our week long stay. They were very concerned about our well being when the remnants of the hurricane hit here. There were brief power outages here but the staff was very accommodating to our needs during this trying time.
We left Fort Lauderdale for Irma. Came here because they accepted dogs. Nice little out of the way spot. Plenty of restaraunts. The nicest hotel staff. Well outside of Atlanta. Not a touristy spot but we were very happy with it for our needs.
Nice hotel for the money. There is nothing spectacular about the hotel, but it is a nice hotel for the money. Clean and well kept property. Friendly and professional staff. Would stay her again if I am in the area.
The stay was excellent. The room was perfect. All was quite and the bed was comfortable. Everything was good and appreciated. The location was near where I attended a funeral. So I was pleased with the hotel and my stay there.
This property is exceptional for those traveling with pets. Property is very clean, as well as the actual rooms. Upon check out, guests are presented with a "to-go brown bag" with fruit, snack, and bottle water. Very convenient location off interstate.
the hotel was nice and everyone was nice. However, the presence of India management/workers is obvious in the odors/smells of the hotel. I do not like the smells in businesses that India people own - whether gas stations, convenience stores or hotels. the lobby, the room, the hallways all reeked of the smell. I paid more for my next 3 weeks in Gainesville and breathed cleaner air, air that didn't have "that" smell.
We were pleased with this hotel for our 2 night stay. Our king suite was clean and modern. Staff was pleasant. The complimentary breakfast station was enjoyable with many choices available, such as scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, breads, muffins, etc. My favorite item was the fresh, hot waffle maker which was very easy to use. Upon leaving, convenient "to go" snack bags were offered. The WiFi signal was strong in our room, 320. A small outdoor swimming pool was available but we did not use it. It looked clean. The immediate surrounding area has plenty of chain restaurants and shopping available. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.
Friendly staff, great location with clean and comfortable rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of restaurant and shopping options nearby. Access is also easy with the nearest highway only a few hundred feet away. The only tricky part was finding the entrance on my first stay.
My first time at a Best Western hotel and I will go to one again. The next time I am in the area, I will go back to this same hotel. It's been a long time since I've had such a nice hotel room and overall experience.
Took TripAdvisor's review advice and stayed here. A very good choice. The reservation process was so pleasant from the initial call to the hotel (not 800) to the actual checkin. It was actually very enjoyable. The hotel is in fantastic condition, very clean, and has great inspection scores. The room was spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed. The bed is very comfortable and had "crisp" sheets. The ac worked great and there is even a switch controlled vent fan in the bathroom. Absolutely the best overall stay I have had in a very long time. Didn't eat the breakfast so I can't comment on that.
Excellent hotel - the location was very good, convenient to everything. The king suite with sofa bed was very spacious and clean. We had 4 rooms and the staff was very helpful putting us all on the same floor. We definitely would recommend this hotel and stay there again
This hotel is by far one of the best in the Oakwood/Gainesville/Lake Lanier area. It is clean, has friendly employees and great breakfast. I have stayed here a few times and always enjoy the stay. Great value for the price.
This place was very clean. Friendly staff and the best free breakfast ever. The lady in charge of the breakfast is a one man cooking machine! The quality and taste was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.
Clean, roomy, well equipped for seniors. Dogs allowed and grounds were immaculate. We always pick up after our dogs but others often do not. It makes the $20/day dog fee worth it. The breakfast was good, hot, and varied.
I checked in at about 7pm and the staff behind the counter was very helpful. However, when I went into take a shower a few hours later I could not figure out how to turn on the shower. I went to the frount desk and no one was there. I finally figured it out.
After a long drive was so glad to get to the room. Room temp was perfect and the room was great. All food places are within walking so did not need to drive. Nice little shop by hotel that sells nice home things.
Very nice hotel conviently located to shops and restaurants The hotel staff is very informative About the area and friendly The rooms are spacious And comforting Breakfast has many choices Overall it met my expectations
Nearby restaurants shopping and easy access to freeway. The staff is great and the hotel rooms are very clean and spacious. I will return again. The breakfast choices are great and fresh. Very quiet area and plenty of parking. The workout facility was great, it had everything I needed to workout. The laundry room was great and I was able to get my laundry done under $4.00.
Great and friendly staff. I had a great stay. My kids and I enjoyed breakfast, coffee in my room a nice hot shower and the pool was a lot of fun! There was plenty of parking and I took great pictures in front of the fireplace with my kids.
I needed a room at the last minute and found availability at a very reasonable price. The motel in newly renovated and just as nice as the brand new properties of other major well known brands in the area. Great value for the price. The other people at the business event I attended spent $110-$150 per night and my room was $83.
We really enjoyed the stay. It was very convenient to area businesses and plenty of restaurants within a mile range. We would recommend this to other bikers. Room was extremely comfortable. Room was very large with a very nice shower.
We booked 5 rooms for a wedding to attend in the area for at least 4 nights. Check in was easy and the rooms were top notch. The staff was very accommodating allowing us to use the breakfast room for a huge family gathering one night. The only downside was that the hotel was booked solid for there was an college rowing event that same weekend. The breakfast was little chaotic in all mornings due to crowds. I actually felt sorry for the ladies who worked hard to keep up with the food demands. Also, while not the fault of the hotel, there was one night that 2nd floor hall was stunk with 'weed' smoking. Some of us weren't happy about it for there were small children in our party and some guests suggested that someone to call the police but we didn't want to cause any drama at the hotel either. The pool was open and while water was cold but it was clean. Nice area to hang out. We were also happy with our maid who did an excellent job in our room each day. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.
Comfortable stay overnight whilst we visited Free Chapel down the road. It was clean, quiet and the staff were friendly. Breakfast had cooked bacon and eggs with other items as well. The beds were comfortable. It was located set back from the road and had a nice feel about it.
The manager and desk attendant went out of their way to get us a room when it was discovered that my reservation made through Verizon was not valid. They scrambled to get a room ready for us and checked to be sure that we were happy during out stay. Hotel is very clean with a great breakfast and the best hotel staff we have ever encountered.
Best place to stay in area...only negative is no hot tub. Breakfast is very good and the server is very accommodating. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff were helpful and any extra items that we needed were provided quickly. Many restaurants were close by as well as shopping needs.
Excellent stay. We always stay at this hotel when in town. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is always good.the employees are always nice and helpful. The hotel is in a great location near interstate.
This hotel has the standard fare....frig, microwave, coffee maker, etc. but it also is quiet and comfortable. We had a room on second floor above the entrance and I thought it might be noisy; not so! The bed was comfy. The staff was friendly and helpful.
We made reservations a year in advance & everything went great! The staff is very professional, the accommodations & breakfast were very clean & welcoming. Good location to area restraunts. Looking forward to more opportunities in the future.
Stayed one night for business. Choose this hotel due to location and recently renovated. I was very pleased with the room, staff, and breakfast. Fitness room was small and cramped with a lot of equipment but it was also clean!
Very nice hotel very clean ,friendly staff ,great breakfast bar good assortment of food at the breakfast bar the lady that did breakfast kept everything fully stocked was very helpful with doing waffles or anything else you may want ,quiet rooms, comfortable beds, good location not far from Atlanta lots of restaurants in the area and plenty of shopping
Nice Hotel, suite was nice (only 2 complaints, room was on the 1st floor right next to the elevator room, breakfast was horrible).. There was no management at this hotel to solve my simple concerns, These concerns would not stop me from staying at the Best Western again. They have a true diamond here that just needs polishing.
Great check-in smiles and friendly customer service. Was offered a military discount and really enjoyed the business center. Also a unique oppurtunity to share our faith and talk mabout Lord Jesus ! Breakfast was really good and lady working dining area , mnade sure I had all that I needed ! :)
My husband has had work in this area a year ago and with this new project, we decided to stay in this hotel again. Everyone here is wonderful! Mr. Walker is one of the best people I have ever met in my life...Mel is also a wonderful person who helped us out in many situations. We had to stay for a month and there was a chance we would have to change rooms but Tyler made sure we were in the same room for our stay. Tyler was so kind to us and made sure to make our stay comfortable. Ian was also wonderful and did everything he could do to make our stay exceptional. Gloria in housekeeping was the best in assuring our room was clean everyday (which was great because we were there for so long). The only hiccup was a particular housekeeper who demanded a tip...Don;t let this stop you from staying here though. This is a wonderful group of people and a beautiful hotel!
Well designed, clean, breakfast buffet was actually a buffet with hot items including eggs/meat/grits/oatmeal. And the selection changed daily. Restaurants were nearby as well as shopping/expressways.
this was a nice hotel. Rooms were nicely decorated, plenty of towels, Only problem we had was the air conditioning seemed to be a little off, we had to bump down to the 60's to get our room cool. We finally figured out that you could set the A/C to fan running continuously, which help a lot. Over all, nice stay. I surveyed the breakfast menu, it smelled delicious, unfortunately we had a breakfast meeting with a friend, and didn't get to eat the breakfast they served, but if smells mean anything, I'm sure it was delicious!
Stayed here one night in September. I didn't have high expectations of this hotel, and was pleasantly surprised. The staff are really nice, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Nice amenities in the bathroom. Breakfast was very good! Didn't have a chance to use the pool. If I was in the area again, I would definitely stay here.
This was the first time I used trip advisor to book a hotel. The process was quick and easy. It's always hard finding a place for the first time that's near where you need to be. The directions on the website helped me pinpoint where it was. This location is near major highways and eateries. Check in was fast. The rooms were clean except for dust in the outermost corners where you'd actually have to move furniture to vacuum. There were makeup removing wipes in the room each night but my last night and the shampoo and conditioner provided were name brand. Was on the first floor so it was easy to get in and out which was great for the free breakfast, and to get a tea for a nightcap. We read the sign wrong and missed breakfast hours the first day but the staff made sure we didn't leave hungry. Someone was always available for questions at the front desk and all seemed like happy employees. Came back to the hotel late on Sunday night and were leaving Monday morning to catch a plane Tyler was able to hold and ship out two items for me when the UPS store nearby opened on Monday. Thank you again Tyler your a lifesaver :) oh, one last thing I didn't know, they also have a pool and gym.
Overall it is a nice hotel - we like the extra space in the room, tv channel selection, etc. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. It is a little difficult to get to but once you figure it out it is ok. There are a number of restaurants nearby and a very nice McDonald's across the highway. Pillows are big.
nice location to stay at when visiting Lake Lanier. Located on the hill off the main road so noise level is at a minimum allowing a good night's sleep. Room is large and beds were comfortable. Bathroom looked like it might need some cosmetic work.
Last Minute trip for my sons Mountain bike race. Best Western was the perfect location with great amenities, friendly staff and comfortable, spacious rooms. Will definitely stay here again if the we have another race in Oakwood.
Front Desk staff amazing, especially if you forget your taxi money..! They all made crazyl time much better with their friendly smiles, positive attitudes and great sense of humors. I will stay there again when in town to visit friends in that area and recommend to others for sure - great job!!!
This has to be the nicest, most quiet Best Western I have ever stayed at. My daughter and I were able to relax and rest between the visitation and funeral we were there to attend in a safe location. The staff was so hospitable and spoke to us everytime we entered and exited the hotel. Definitely will stay here again.
We loved the septet sitting area and large king room. Always nice to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room as well. The breakfast was ok, though they were low on things but they worked hard to restock what they could.
Now I have stayed at a few Best Westerns before. They are not normally my first choice. However, if every Best Western was like this one, it would definitely be my top pick. This hotel was super clean. The breakfast was AWESOME. Loved the waffle maker and the care the staff took to present the food choices. The staff was helpful, and catering. I loved this stay. Great place. I saw the staff helping a older man load his bags in to his car. Laundry room was clean. Loved this stay. Make sure to try breakfast. Very good choice for those wanting to visit the ATL Falcons training camp. Super close.
We selected this hotel based on the location between Gainesville and on the way to Atlanta. It was conveniently located and a good affordable price. The staff was friendly; breakfast was decent. I would stay here again when back to the area.
We have stayed at this property a number of times with no complaints. This time was different we were placed in room 101 and it had a distinct per odor. I brought it to the attention of the front desk attendant and he said he would tell someone. Also the remote did not work but that was remedied. Other than that it is a very nice property and has great service.
Our volleyball team stayed here overnight during a recent tournament in Gainesville. The rooms were clean & comfortable, and staff was helpful. The included breakfast had a decent selection, perfect for a quick meal before heading out. If you need a place for a quick overnight, this is a great choice with several fast-food type choices near in close proximity.
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast area was well kept with hot, fresh food available in the morning. I would stay there again if my travels take me to that area. The bed was comfortable and clean. There were plenty of towels. The tv contril was sanitized. I felt safe as a woman traveling alone.
My husband, had to be at work at 8am we live out if town and had drove all night. And the girl at the front desk was awesome. I can't remember her name I was so tired. She took my number and called me soon as they had a room ready. She was the 8am front desk worker. I was going to try the Hilton hotel next time. But because she did this for me I will come here every week to stay. Terry and Dana Ivy
I stopped at the BW in Oakwood, GA. for business. It was a great experience. Everyone was cordial and helpful. I would definitely stay there again if my travels find me in the area. BTW, The breakfast was hot and delicious.
Nice and friendly people at the hotel for check in and check out. The hotel is decorated well and there is a nice touch to its feel when you arrive back from work. Calming!!! I definitely have changed my views on staying at a Best Western after this trip. I think they are doing a great job at rebranding and showing they too can compete.
Nice room and amenities, however it had a dog smell. We got used to it, but others may want to ask for a non-pet room, if the smell would bother them. The breakfast and lobby area were great. And free coffee 24/7. The parking lot was small. It was totally full when we got in one night and we had to park in a store parking lot next door.
Booked through AAA. Will not do again. COLD eggs, bacon not cooked, hash browns burnt. Mattress big depression in it, people upstairs, floor creaked when they walked. Would not stay here again. I really like BW but not this one.
Nice place to stay at when you are in the Lake Lanier and Gainsville areas. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is refilled as needed. No waiting for food. Right across the street form Lanier Tech. College.
Hubby & I were visiting Lake Lanier on our summer "Staycation". After reading the reviews for this hotel, I decided to book it for 4 days. I was not disappointed. Wonderful, spacious & clean rooms, modern bathrooms, & pet friendly. Breakfast was one of the best around with REAL eggs and not the powdered kind you get elsewhere. I'd definitely book again when visiting the lake.
Needed a place not too far from Atlanta, yet close to the North Georgia Mountains and decided on this Best Western Plus in Oakwood GA. It was also rated very highly and for good reason, great staff and service and clean rooms! Me and the kids were going fishing in North Georgia and needed a reasonable nice place to stay for a couple of nights. The rooms were nice and in the morning they had your standard hotel breakfast which was surprisingly better than normal! The eggs were cooked to prefection and everything was clean and well stocked. The rooms were guite even though the hotel was fully booked, if I am near here again I am definitely coming back!
Great location, modern facility, big clean rooms. Good Wi-Fi and a nice hot breakfast with hot eggs and breakfast meat. Nice pool and clean parking lot. east access to I-985 and plenty of food oppurtunities close by.
Friendly staff that went out of their way to accommodate. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Room was big and clean. Bed was comfortable. Good location surrounded by shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
Clean. Quiet. No smoke odor. Good decor. Good amenities. Very good breakfast - the scrambled eggs of the breakfast service were very good in a venue they typically are average to very bad. I hate it when there is a minimum number of characters requirement.
Decent hotel, unfortunately the room air conditioner did not work and I did not sleep as a result. When asked for an adjustment, the hotel manager took off $10. Definitely did not make up for the lack of sleep. More of an insult than compensation for poor maintenance of the air conditioning.
We had to check in 3 different times due to flooding of our house, the first night we were placed in a room right next to the elevators which was very loud during late night hours. The second time I requested a room down the hallway and we were very pleased (we got a larger room with double vanities). The third time my husband forgot to asked for a room down the hallway and we ended up right next to the elevators again but I think since it was the middle of the week there weren't as many people staying in so we weren't bothered. Beds were cleaned and breakfast was very good.
Great location, great service, excellent staff. I enjoyed the comfortable room and it was very clean! Thank you for making it so easy to check in and out and for making my stay a pleasant one. I will definitely recommend the Best Western in Oakwood to my friends and family!
Dogs allowed, great. Pleasant staff. Breakfast buffet super. AARP rate appreciated Room clean. Quiet atmosphere. Room was a bit smaller than last visit,we think. Perhaps a mirror in the living area would help. Light bulbs burnt out,. not replaced. Overall, quite nice.
Very clean, QUIET at night. Excellent staff! Motel was just 6 miles from the establishment for which I was in the area. Only minor nitpick is I wish there had been more bar/tavern businesses within walking distance...
Nice clean place inside and out, friendly staff. Room was very clean, nicely decorated with a comfortable bed, great nights sleep. Hotel is quiet, no road noise while sleeping. Enjoyed my stay and look forward to the next time there.
We were very pleased with our accommodations. The staff was extremely attentive, the complimentary breakfast was more than we expected and the hotel was located close to shops and restaurants. This hotel will be our first choice when we're back in town.
This is one of the best stays we have had anywhere in a long time.Everything is clean and well kept, friendly staff, great location, nice facility. Nice breakfast set up, and well taken care of. I expect we will definately consider the BW Lake Lanier in Oakwood when we pass thru this area again. Great find, thanks Trip Advisors for accurate reviews.
From the moment I pulled up to the hotel everything looked clean, the hotel staff was very professional and helpful, and the room was CLEAN and fresh. I love the decor; the burnt orange, brown, and tan colors. Everyone smiled and the location allows you to get right on the highway.
great staff and comfy beds good location and the only pet friendly hotel that i will stay at in this area the hotel has great breakfasts and a bag for on the go earlier risers don't no what else to say but you will enjoy staying here and there are many fine restaurants in down town Gainesville
This hotel is were I will come back to.We stayed for 4 nights .Comfortable beds, quite rooms and great breakfasts each morning.Hotel staff is outstanding.I feel like I got my money's worth here for sure.
I stayed at the Best Western Plus Lake Lanier Gainesville for a week during a business trip. I found the hotel and staff to be just perfect for an extended stay. My suite was spacious and well-appointed -- I loved that I could choose to be in the living room to work, eat, watch TV, etc. rather than in a bedroom as at other hotels. Though not an official "kitchenette" the area with the microwave and refrigerator was perfect because it had shelves and a storage area to accomodate the snacks and drinks I brought with me. The bathroom was also great and kept clean and well-stocked with linens by the cleaning staff. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
I booked this hotel online. On arrival The front desk attendant was on the phone for a while while I stood there. He was able to find my reservation and I proceeded my room. I couldn't figure out how to use the key to get into my room.So I had to go back downstairs with my luggage to find him back on the phone. After he was off the phone he explained how to use the key. They should explain this at check in or on the key itself. After settling in. Trying to figure out how to use the shower...Now that was a challenge. ...please ask them at the front desk. ..This was a puzzle. .The hot breakfast was ok....The staff was friendly. If I have business in that area again. I would probably stay again.
Friendly staff Rooms nothing special but clean Good variety of breakfast food The shower feature on the tub faucet was tricky to figure out. Would have been nice to have an instruction. Almost gave up.
Hotel and staff were excellent. I would recommend this hotel and the other Plus Best Western that I have used in the past. I will be staying at this hotel upon my next visit and other Best Western Plus on my over night stays traveling to and from Oakwood Georgia on family business.
From the first hour to my last hour in the hotel it was clear to me that the staff not only understands their expectations, but truly strives to deliver an experience that you wouldn't get any where else. The entire staff should be commended. The quality of the service and facility greatly exceeded my expectations. The free breakfast was truly awesome! My new favorite race track is Road Atlanta, and I will definitely stay at this hotel every time I'm there. I don't have a single complaint!
This hotel was great in so many ways!! Nice , professional management, comfortable, great food, pets welcome, clean and reasonable prices. What more could you want! Definitely recommend as best if staying in Flowery Branch or Gainesville, Georgia.
A bit difficult to get to up a winding road but worth it. Room was nice, breakfast was great staff was great. Coming from the freeway you have to go past it and drive up a road that felt like a parking lot and then turn in to the left.
The hotel was nice and clean. It's a little hard to get to it because of the way the area is designed. Has an outdoor pool and decent continental breakfast. Plenty of parking, even for larger vehicles.
Arriving tired and hungry, I was simply ready for someplace to crash. However, entering the building we were greeted by a warm and inviting, seasonally decorated lobby. That set the tone as we encountered a pleasant desk clerk, followed by a clean and comfortable room. We were also provided with some options for dinner out, one of which turned out to be fabulous. Can't ask for much more than that for a nice stay.
Had another great stay at the Best Western in Oakwood. Was there with a group and everything was very nice. Great staff at check-in, perfectly adequate workout facility, great breakfast on time and a very nice room. Nice common areas as well. Will stay again.
The hotel was very comfortable, rooms clean, breakfast excellent and very helpful staff. It is also very pretty when you walk into the front doors, Staircase, fireplace and seating area and a Christmas Tree! Very nice to come home to each night.
We had an Excellent stay. We were staying for the Petit Le Mans while working at the races. The manager and staff put on a very nice "happy hour" with great food and prizes. This was a great idea. Our race team has stayed here before and has always had a great stay but this stay was especially nice with the Managers welcome party.
I typically go to Hampton Inn because of their continuity between hotels and cleanliness, however, this Best Western in Oakwood, GA came with high recommendations. I now understand why - the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. I was pleased with the cleanliness and amenities. If I return to Oakwood, GA, I will definitely stay here again.
We had to stay here for a business trip and while there where many changes, the staff was wonderful! John Walker was the best person I have ever come in contact with on a trip and made me feel safe and secure (even took me to the store in his personal car to pick up things I needed). Each day he checked on us to ensure our needs were met. Had a moment when a guest was unruly but he was sure to calm the situation and made sure we felt comfortable. Ian was another plus to our visit. This guy went out of his way to make sure we were always taken care of. I can't say enough good things about this duo but I am certain I will be back.
Stayed here for 4 days for work. Property was clean and well updated. Rooms were very good and met all expectations. I found the front desk staff to be especially helpful and it was obvious that they were a well trained group. Didn't sample the breakfast, but it smelled good on my way out the door. Great for trips to Road Atlanta as it is the closest hotel to the track and near good restaurants and shopping.
We stayed here 2 nights on a weekend getaway, the staff was very nice and just pleasant people, the rooms were perfect and the bed was more comfortable than my own bed at home. Very very clean hotel inside and out, price was perfect
Very nice property. Still seems fairly new and clean. We had a nice sty and the room was ready and check in/out was seamless. Our only complaint was the number of parking spots. We arrived in very late from a football game and we had to park in a nearby parking lot. We were not the only car that had to do so.
Very expensive rates for Special Olympics parents. Breakfast was bad, watery eggs and watery grits, paper thin bacon with no taste at all. Ended up having coffee and banana! I really expected to get some sort of discount because we were with the Special Olympics like we have at many other hotel/motel chains but we did not.
I only wish I had booked BW earlier, since they only had Thurs. night available that week. The following weekend was filled for the Special Olympics (where I was a volunteer), being held nearby. The BW front desk kept an eye out for a cancellation, but there were none. I had to stay the last 2 nights at a nearby Motel 6 and what a nightmare place that was! Next year I'll book early for the Special Olympics and you can bet it will be at Best Western Plus Lake Lanier, Gainesville! Needless to say, I'll add BW to my "must stay at" hotels in the future. LOVE YOU, BEST WESTERN!
Everything was perfect. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The employees were truly amazing, caring people. It truly felt like home away from home. The employees actually knew who you were and who you were with.
We stayed here for one night on our way to the mountains and my husband had a gall-bladder attack which required the hotel calling 911. First responders arrived quickly and we went to the hospital ER and my husband was stabilized enough for us to return to the hotel around 4 am. The front office was so kind and understanding and told us to sleep as long as we needed to and we were so grateful for that. Even with that level of quality service, the room was first-class with premium bedding, top-quality amenities and the cleanliness was extraordinary. All shopping and restaurants are within a one-mile radius. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough to show our appreciation. We will definitely stay here again.
We recently stayed here for one night it was super clean, modern and quiet, If we are in the area again we would stay here again without hesitation. Just a note to say on this trip we had also stayed in a historical hotel in Atlanta, everything about this hotel was ten times better than our stay there and for less money per night!. Good job guys.
This was a Great Stay - The Staff was very accommodating & went the extra mile to make our experience enjoyable. Beyond that, they gave us an unexpected, free evening party with food and door prizes...
I stayed here for one night en route from Atalanta to Asheville in NC and would endorse the many other positive reviews posted about this hotel. Having had mixed experiences of Best Western in the past, I am pleased to say that this is one of the best, if not the best BW hotel I have stayed in in the US so far. It is not a luxury hotel and does not claim to be, but what it offers are clean well-appointed and spacious rooms, a good complimentary breakfast and unfailingly helpful and friendly staff.
This hotel is a very good choice for the budget minded traveler. Rooms were clean and well appointed with a few signs of wear, but nothing major. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Overall a we had a nice stay
I seldom stay at a Best Western and I was very impresses. The service at the front desk was great, the room and bed were very nice and the breakfast was terrific. The ice machine was right off the elevator and easy to find. The general location was great. I wanted to stay directly in Gainsville but this was close enough not to pose a problem for me in the morning.
Stayed here for one night with our 11 yr old English Springer Spaniel and found it very convenient . Staff was friendly and the room was like a suite with a door separating the king sized bed and the sitting area. Was very clean and roomy. Convenient to Gainesville where there are several good restaurants.
