We stayed at this hotel and drove into Yosemite on two different days. Our room was nice. It was clean and comfortable. There are numerous places to eat near to this hotel. Many of them within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice pillows and bedding. Good breakfast, and staff were friendly and very helpful.. Housekeeping staff made sure our trash needed emptied and provided us with fresh towels etc as needed. Definitely would come back again. And I do recommend it..
This hotel is located on CA 120, the main road through town, near the town center.Adjacent is a strip mall with restaurants. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast. Great indoor pool and jacuzzi. Will return next time we go through Oakdale.
Exceptionally friendly staff made sure our stay was perfect. Recommended nearby restaurants to try. Make sure to order from Javis Restaurant right behind the hotel….great food! Clean room, amazing breakfast!! Great price. Will be coming back to this hotel when traveling through the area again.
The location was good for my needs, but the price seemed high compared to other comparable best westerns that I have stayed at in the last year. My room was fine, quiet and clean, but the electric socket where the coffee maker was plugged in, did not work at all, and I had to move it across the room to get coffee in the morning. The breakfast was very sparse, out of almost everything, but that might have just been my timing, the hotel was very busy on a Sunday morning.
both check in and check out were marred by woman saying how much they hated the 4th of July, in this wonderful city! ac never did cool room down, ran all night on and off on lowest setting, took two phone calls to get downstairs room that looked like it hadn't been used in ages, very clean place, big surprise when I got a response from the hotel after filling out their questionair, it wasn't even signed and blank said fill in name here. we will go back to Oakdale, but not here!
There are very clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend it, The amenities are excellent and satisfied my needs. Their breakfast is very tasty, with plenty of food and nice variety. The room was amazingly comfortable and had all my needs in the room such as a frig etc.
My 2nd time staying here in the past 3 months. Each stay has been for about a week. It's very clean, pleasant staff, alot of amenities like indoor heated pool/spa, a dry sauna, full weight room, a laundry dry room to wash your belongings (just 1 washer and 1 dryer) very inexpensive as well and a full breakfast bar each morning with a rotating menu. There is an elevator as well as a staircase.
We have stayed in Oakdale several times over the years and Best Western is always a very good choice. The room was very clean and well stocked; the hotel breakfast above average. Hotel is close several very good restaurants within walking distance.
When traveling on Hwy 120 up to the foothills do yourself and family a favor and stop and experience Best Western Rama Inn. Its on the Left as you exit town across from the Big Shopping Center. Plenty of places to eat right there.
The reason this hotel didn't receive a 4-5 star rating is because this hotel with handicapped rooms has ZERO handicapped parking spaces.. In order to get from my vehicle to my handicapped room, I had to walk to my handicapped room from the extreme rear of the parking lot. Apparently, the management of this hotel has zero respect for the mobility impaired.
We came out of Yosemite and were on our way to SF. We were looking for a nice place to stay on the way, to break the drive. This hotel got a high score so we just booked it. We were very pleasantly surprised. It is right on the main road and still very quiet. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. We used the nice indoor pool and the gym. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of good places to eat nearby. In short a pleasure. I guess the best measurement is the number of people that stay there for prolonged time periods while they work. They were many of them.
Very nice place to stay. Close to shopping and Restaurants. Right on Highway 108 and 120. Three story with elevator. Pool, Exercise room and Breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Grounds are well kept.
We were looking for a cheap, quick place right off the highway. While it wasn't exactly off the highway (more like into town a bit), it was convenient. It was also clean and comfortable. We left too early for breakfast, so I cannot comment on that, but it was a good stay.
If you are looking for an affordable but well appointed, clean and safe place to stay this is it. The room was very comfortable, lobby was lovely with places to sit and work and the breakfast had everything from oatmeal to waffles to eggs and sausage. Great location right in the middle of Oakdale, across the street from Cold Stone, Round Table, SaveMart and Rite Aid.
Room had 2 queen beds, very comfortable & roomy was not crowded. Enjoyed the pool, spa & work out room was very nice. Only complaint was pool area very humid & created a stale order need a way to ventilate the area to reduce the smell. Friendly staff & breakfast very filling. Only con I didn't like were the pillows . Too compacted . Very nice place would stay again.
Pool and hot tub clean and working. Breakfast area clean and stocked. Everyone I encountered was friendly, polite, and professional. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. We were on a cross country road trip.
Stayed here for a family visit and the annual Oakdale Burchill Garage Sale. Staff was very polite and the breakfast was good. Clean rooms and a very nice indoor pool. Close to a large array of shopping, and places to eat.
Friendly and Courteous staff Very nice rooms. We were in the back units so it was nice an quiet On site restaurant and bar. Really good FREE Breakfast included. Great location with all sorts of amenities in the area
The hotel has an indoor pool and spa area (small, but so is the hotel). This area includes a sauna. It is a nice play to stay if you are looking for somewhere quiet to relax. The breakfast was decent, but could use a little improvement. For the price, it would be nice to have had an indoor bar/restaurant area so we didn't have to leave the property.
We rented 2 rooms, 1 room the curtains were off the rod and dusty and the power button on the TV was off and hard to find on the TV. Hadt to turn on the power button before the remote would work and then had to reconfigure settings on tv. Second room some sort of gunk on shower wall, we cleaned it before using the bathroom. I believe the staff needs a little more training on having roomms ready for guests
Everything was great; check-in, parking, breakfast. room size, cleanliness, HVAC, TV, bathroom, beds, quietness, etc. If every Best Western was like this, we'd never stay anywhere else. Remember to not leave ANYTHING in your car.
This is a terrible hotel do NOT stay here Jody Mistery & Kathy (receptionist at the front desk) are terribly rude. I don't like to leave negative reviews at any place but I felt the need to leave this one. First off, our spa we paid extra for had no proper instructions on how to operate it and when we called front desk the staff had no clue to work it to show us so she "Leah" thought it was broken she even came down to our room with a screw driver to take the panel of and attempted to fix it herself. Leah was new and didn't know how to work the Jetta tub either. So for two days we didn't use our jetted spa tube that we paid extra for. On the third day Leah got back to use after speaking to one of the staff and got directions on how to work it apparently there is a wall button on the side where the bathroom is to turn it on. So our jetted tub worked after all so If there were instructions we wouldn't have had this problem. Leah their staff member learned how to work it and was able to show us. If a guest doesn't know how to work something in the room there should be a knowledgeable staff that can help. It should not be our fault. Secondly, we thought it was weird that we had to leave a tag on our door for room service to clean our room (normally there tag is for "do not disturb") but even after leaving the tag on our door we had no room service for 3 days while we were there. This was a business trip for us we were gone by 8am & back by 5pm. Kathy (front desk older lady) mentioned they hired non English house keepers Spanish people who couldn't read that was why our room wasn't made which was a lie I have on video I talked to their cleaning lady "Gracie" we bumped into her during our checking out. She spoke great English and she mentioned she saw our sign on the door for all three days to clean our room but since the manager Jody didn't assign the room to her to clean she didn't clean it. Gracie also mentioned their others rooms with the same problems bc the guests were getting angry at her (Gracie) for not cleaning their rooms. Gracie is also the only one there to clean every single room and told us cleaning service is under staffed. Then the manager "Jody" said she came by our room and saw for herself we had the door tag that said no room service on our door was the reason why they didn't come make up our room, which was a complete out right lie. We have a video talking to Gracie I will gladly send it to management if they like a copy of it. Like I mentioned we made sure it said we wanted room service bc it was strange to even have to put the sign there. I've never encountered such unprofessionalism such as this in a hotel before. The only person that was great was Leah who was new as she told us. Do NOT stay at the place! I'm warning you!!!! Btw, Breakfast that was free was terrible, egg was soggy, potato was not cooked throughly and the waffle maker while we were here was broken (which was the only best item on their breakfast list). Table to eat on was extremely wobbly and crooked also we kept spilling our coffee while trying to cut up waffles to eat. They seem to not care one bit about their customers. Staff is rude esp the manager Jodi. They need a new manager she is not fit for the position. She straight up didn't offer to compensate us or do anything about our complaint but had an "oh well" type of attitude. Kristin a new gal was at the front to check us out and she told us to file a complaint online on their website but I'm having a hard time finding the review section on their website. I'm going to copy and paste this entire review everywhere I can to warn everyone how horrible this place is.
The room (#102) reeked of bleach, and also felt dank, I suppose from the zealous cleaning of the bathroom and a lack of ventilation. I immediately went to the front desk, and was told there was nothing they could do unless I wanted to pay for an upgrade to a jacuzzi room. This was at 9:45 pm... Needless to say, I was not pleased with the customer service.
i enjoy how clean and quiet the hotel is, i enjoy the proximity to stores and eating facilities i have stayed at all of the hotels in the central valley, modesto, turlock, ceres, and even salida. Yes , my main destination is Hughson,CA. and i choose to rest at Best Western in Oakdale,CA.
Rooms were clean. Smelled nice (my wife wants me to say). The pool is perfect for young travelers. Our room was spacious. It provided a separate living area for the kids. We each had our own tv. Strangely, it didn't interfere with each other, volume-wise. The hiccup were I had to plug in the tv cable box and the curtains didn't black out the outdoor street lights.
if heading to or from the sierras call Best Western Rama Inn in Oakdale CA. clean, nice folks, great sleep. only 2 hrs from San Francisco and only 1 hr from Sonora,CA Enjoy Best Western likke me ! Try it once and You will be BACK !
We stayed at the best Western plus in Oakdale California. Our first room had many bugs. The front desk young lady was very kind and got us another room and apologized. She was very sweet. Several days after our stay there was an arbitrary $50 charge on our credit card. When we called to inquire, we were told that we ruined towels which we did not. I was given the owners information and called Jody the next day. She told me after a small lecture that she would refund the money. I said I would come in the next day with the card. When I got there the next day I introduced myself and she immediately told me dishonorably so that she would not be turning the money back as we were filthy and turned all of her towels black. As you can imagine there were a few words back-and-forth when she called the police on me. Unbelievable . I told her good I would wait for the police. Then she once again told me that she would credit the card back $50 dollars and asked for my card information and my email so that she could send me a receipt. She lied. She did not credit back the card. She refuses to credit back the card. This is about an unethical, unkind business owner. Really an unbelievable horrible experience.
We came into town for the Almond Cruise. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful staff and room comfort. We had two minor issues, (chair and TV) that we called the front desk about.....someone was there to help in 30 seconds both times! I have never experienced this in a hotel. The breakfast was good....small omlette's sausage patties, yogurt, cereal etc. Nice separate coffee area. All staff who we interacted with were friendly, helpful and seemed to like their job. We will definitely stay here again.
Amazing place to unwind and enjoy your visit. I highly recommend them for their welcoming smiles and exceptional service they provide. When I needed something my request was always listened to and they did their best to accommodate and help me relax.
Great prices for the quality of rest and comfort at Best Western in Oakdale, CA Location is great and people are friendly. Clean and comfortable rooms. Shopping nearby, restaurants next door within walking distance.
We were happy to find a Best Western in Oakdale to allow us a short drive to Yosemite after a good night's sleep. The rates seemed reasonable, although the designation as a Best Western Plus is largely negated by the Covid closure of the pool and elimination of the usual breakfast buffet. This hotel is on a heavily trafficked road so some rooms may be pretty noisy. Ours is fine except for a very noisy air conditioner. Everything is spotlessly clean. The staff have been pleasant. Masks are required inside, which we very much appreciate. It's a short walk to several decent restaurants but don't expect masks..
We just needed a place to stay overnight and this was fone. Quiet, clean, safe. Bed was comfortable and got a good night's sleep. Staff was friendly and helpful. This was during a covid spike so pool was closed. Breakfast was OK. nothing special but fine.
It was ok. Breakfast to go, no pool, no pets, drawers need fix they keep opening , cable cant really watch alot of channels, internet was down. I think that was it would probably recommend if its just to sleep
Nice place to stay for a family event like a wedding. This Inn was very clean and affordable by all the family members. The restaurants nearby were within walking distance for family get-togethers. Parking was wonderful in the shade.
Conveniently located for my stay with restaurants, gas and shopping within a couple blocks. I stayed in room 104, which was comfortable, except it was near a ground level entrance and was quite noisy all hours of the night.
i live in San Francisco and travel to Oakdale,CA. every saturday and stay ot Best Western Hotel.. i have stayed at many hotels in my life, and this hotel is as good as any and better than most. if you are evr traveling through this town do your family a favor and stay at the Bet Western Rama Inn in Oakdale, California, the gateway to the sierras.
Liked everything about this hotel. Excellent service, a very large comfortable room at a reasonable price, very good choices for breakfast to take to the room, and a convenient location close to highway as well as many good restaurants.
The man and woman in the room connected to ours (via a door) were yelling, fighting, discussing doing cocaine, physically hitting each other, having extremely loud intercourse, and playing the TV at loud volumes. This began about 9pm and lasted until 3pm. We called the desk 3 times, and all they did was call the room to ask them to quiet down. This lasted for a few minutes each time. When I asked them what more they would do when the issues persisted, they offered nothing. We had to explain to my 3 year old daughter what all the noises were, because they scared her so much. I don't know if I've ever left a hotel room in the morning feeling less rested, and my opinion of Best Western Hotels as a brand has been greatly diminished. It felt like a seedy $40 motel room by a strip club, not a room I'd paid $150 for.
Hotel is in a great location restaurants are walking distance, and they also had breakfast on site. The staff is very kind. Room was quiet and very clean. I definitely will be staying there again great experience.
We stayed here on the way to Yosemite for one night. This place had all the basics, plus a few bonuses - clean and spacious rooms, an in-room whirlpool tub (if you choose that room type), a pool, and a sauna. The free breakfast is always a plus too. If you're looking for an affordable and decent place to relax and spend the night before making your way into Yosemite, this is the perfect place.
The room was nice and quiet. We were on the first floor, so I was kinda shocked there wasn't a bunch of noise from above. I think the price is a bit higher than most even with the same accommodations but The jacuzzi was amazing and the bed was super comfy.
Do not stay here, noisy all the time, doors slamming all night, people fighting in hallways, ice machines broke for over 2 months, I will not stay here again, go down the street to holiday inn or stay in Modesto or another hotel! Trust me, I'll
This hotel is clean and comfortable, unfortunately it is also noisy due to proximity to the main road through town. I would stay here again, so mark this up as a positive review. A couple of side notes, the parking lot is under construction (late July 2020) and maid service is every other day.
One of the rooms smelled like a dirty ashtray. Had to sleep in it for one night. They discounted it $50 but I couldn't breathe....There was the Covid-19 issue on top of everything else but I mean we couldn't even get clean towels. No room service at all and the maids weren't masks which is scary. I complained at the front desk only to find that they were not wearing masks either but asking the guests to wear them or they could not enter. Definitely poorly managed.
I left jewelry in the room on a table. Left the door locked behind us when we left to check out. Called the next day when I realized I'd left my jewelry in the room and was told that my jewelry wasn't turned in to the front desk by staff or anyone else. I promptly made a police report and contacted customer service at bestwestern.com. They forwarded the email to the branch I had stayed at. I recevied an email from Front Desk Supervisor Shanelle Remesal whose response was anything but professional and somewhat rude. I'm very unsatisfied with their approach and of course, the theft of my jewelry.
There is only one reason I am giving this review three stars instead of none and it is because of an employee named Bethany who saved the day. We were in Oakdale on business and I have an unusual name...Anneke. I had called from the road and made the reservation for one night. It was a business trip and I brought one card with me for overnight. When we arrived a woman named Cathy that has been there forever checked us in and I gave her my card. Up front I said we were there for one night because we had to be in Santa Barbara the next night on business. She proceeded to mix me up with someone named Angela and run my card for a seven night stay. She said oh no, I ran this for seven nights. I said it can be reversed right because that is my only card I brought and I need the space for the rest of the trip. She lied and said oh no it didn't make it onto the card. Checking on my phone there definitely was a $984 charge that and gone through. She said I don't know what to do and I can't call the manager til Monday! I tried to get thru to PayPal but no one could talk to me til business hours. I called the 1 800 Best Western number and told the person answering what happened and she laughed and said Cathy definitely should have called the manager. She advised me to just get this resolved the next morning when someone different would be on staff. Meanwhile the remote on the TV would not work and we had to do the TV manually and we had to put a towel between the bathroom door so it wouldn't close and lock automatically. The door is heavy and once it closed and we were locked out. Thankfully my husband is a contractor and slipped something in the door to get it to open. The next morning I called PayPal and they said this could take 30 days to resolve. I was freaked out and the girl behind the counter named Bethany was a young girl who had only worked there 1-1/2 months. She knew just what to do. She faxed PayPal on letterhead and got them to reverse the charges right away. She knew I was really upset and brought me a water and a candy cane and gave my husband a toothbrush when she realized he had forgotten his. She took charge and turned a very angry me into being rational again. She needs a promotion!!! She is a gem.
Super nice! Close to Yosemite but still very reasonable. LOVE the high ceilings and modern decor. SUPER soft sheets and very comfortable beds. We got in late but the pool room and sauna looked really nice., maybe next time. GREAT staff got us our requested ground floor even though it was sold out and we got in late. Wont be staying anywhere else when I'm in this area. This is the place!
Had to watch our grandkids two days in a row, so Parents could do some holiday shopping. It is in the town where they live. This hotel is within walking distance for shopping and a places to eat.. Right on the main street.
Stayed here for the Jr. Rodeo in Oakdale and it was very nice and clean. This is the second time we stayed in Oakdale and I will definitely come back to this hotel! Love the jacuzzi bath tub!!!! Continental breakfast was great and yummy!!! Staff are very friendly and they gave us a late checkout with no problems. I definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Oakdale.
What a nice surprise after a long drive and a exhausting hike! Comfortable room, spacious, inside pool, comfortable bed, nice staff, quick check-in, all kinds of restaurants nearby, and low priced as well.
Oakdale BW was great Everyone and everything was perfect Typically on our vacations we like to stay at larger places however the BW in Oakdale was perfect for the occasion They accommodated a large group and were so wonderful
Excellent location ... a little noisy as right on Hwy120,( ask for a room on backside of facility) Very friendly Staff Free Breakfast was GREAT., lots of selection , Internet was quick and easy, plenty of shopping and restaurants in immediate area
The service, quality and cleanliness of the hotel was top notch. The affordability was also a value. I would recommend a stay to anyone looking for a hotel in the Oakdale area. I've stayed at some of the other local hotels and did not have near the same experience.
We were on our way from Yosemite to San Francisco and this hotel was a mid point stop for 1 night. If you're traveling through this area this hotel is pleasant, clean, and has a nice continental breakfast.
Ashley was a great ambassador for this hotel. She helped me juggle my reservations graciously and efficiently. The room was spacious, very clean and very comfortable. The bed and pillows were great. All in all, a wonderful hotel experience.
Everything was very nice. My room was clean and quiet. The hot breakfast delicious. Shanelle made my reservation over the telephone and checked me in. Shanelle is very pleasant and efficient. Thank you!
Great place to stay when traveling through Oakdale. Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast included, microwave, refrigerator in every room and restaurants close by. Ice maker and vending machines on every floor.
on the road from San Francisco to Yosemite , the best western is an oasis . It's a pleasure to swin in the pool and to use the amenities. The room was large and the bed confortable. The breakfast was very good and the staff friendly.
We chose to stay in the BW Oakdale as it was mid way from Yosemite NP to SF. The hotel is very accessible (off the main road) with ample parking. Check in was smooth and fast. The room was specious and clean. Now, we are a family of 5 people and the reservation stated that clearly. Unfortunately, the room was ready for 3 people. The pullout sofa was closed and unmade, there were't enough towels and bath amenities not pillows. Not so much fun when it is 9:30pm and you just drove for 3 hours. For the benefit of the staff, they responded quickly and provided us with all that we needed. The Hotel has nice amenities such as indoor swimming pool and a gym - great for the kids to enjoy. There is also free breakfast but unfortunately, the selection is poor, the tables are dirty, the buffet is not stocked regularly which leads to shortage in some items and the plastic dishes - including the cutlery - does not add to a great breakfast experience. It is a decent hotel for a quick nigh stay while on the road, but management is suggested to improve breakfast, provide more selection and normal dishes and cutlery.
We chose to stay here because of the amenities and the free breakfast, but it was much more the staff was friendly, the location was great we would highly recommend staying here. Thank you BW for your hospitality and service.
Nice, large and clean room (2 x queen beds), aircon, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker but no safe, why are there no safes in any BW Plus ? Free WiFi. Bathroom with shower in bath, all working well. Breakfast warm and cold food items to start your day, but...on cardboard plates and plastic cutlery...minus 1*.
I have stayed at plenty of hotels within par five years and not once have I encountered bed bug bites. I have stayed at hotels that cost much less and have never ran into this problem. My husband and daughter were bitten by bed bugs. My daughter showed me all the bumps as we were leaving from the hotel after checkout. She said they were very itchy and they were raised bumps. I am so upset that I took a chance and came here with my family. I do not recommend this place. I read previous reviews of this hotel before booking and thought oh maybe they were not true. All the reviews about bed bugs are 100% true, my daughter took pictures of her bites and told me to post them. She said she would not want her worst enemy to stay here . We stayed in room #217.
Needed good night's rest after long trip to stay at dying relatives' bedside and as always Best Western delivered us a very comfortable and quiet room. Nourished by good breakfast enabling us to drive home safely.
I'm not really familiar with any other hotels in town but I know that when I stay at a Best Western, especially this one, I'm getting a clean room, friendly and accommodating service and a well maintained hotel. My business trip turned out well when I stayed here. I was able to get a good night's sleep, the place was clean and the staff was knowledgeable of the services they provide.
I highly recommend this location. I have stayed at a number of locations in California. This location is by far one of the best. Great customer service, clean and organized. I always enjoy my stay here, I always utilize the indoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. Both of which are of a higher quality than other best westerns I have stayed at. If your looking for a comfortable place for yourself or for family this is the place to be.
Whenever we travel to Oakdale CA or on to Yosemite we always stay at the Best Western RAMA it is by far the best hotel in the Oakdale area. The area is always clean and neat and the food is just as good or better than going to a restaurant
I am a eat Western Rewards member so when I can I like to use Best Westerns. Kandy at front desk was very helpful and when I asked her about Javi's Mexican restaurant near by she rave about the food. Hotel is clean and room was comfortable as expected. I would recommend this hotel if staying in Oakdale and it's next to Javi's Mexican food 150' from hotel with a happy hour from 12-8 daily
My family and I stayed at this hotel because it was close to a wrestling tournament that we were attending. All the employees were great, they made me and my children feel welcomed. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and hot. Our room was nicely put together and clean. I will definitely be back on our next trip.
There were a few things that were okay about this hotel. The breakfast wasn't bad and the housekeepers were all very friendly and did a good job. But overall, I do not plan to stay here again. My husband and I stayed here with our little kids and the front desk people weren't very friendly. They acted like we were a huge burden. I'm guessing this wouldn't have been the case if it was just my husband and I, but they always acted annoyed towards the kids. Also, I walked up to the front desk once during our stay and the two ladies behind the desk didn't realize I was standing there and they were sitting there talking very poorly about their coworker-so unprofessional and AWKWARD when they realized I was standing there waiting to be helped! Lastly, we found BED BUG bites all over us while we were traveling home. So overall, I do not recommend this hotel, especially if you have kids!
Nice hotel, good breakfast and great location with many restaurants close by. We stay at the hotel each year while in the area for business. We are always treated very well and we are happy with the accomodations.
We have stayed at this Best Western before. Wonderful experience again! Cathy greeted us with cookies and mints at the desk. She was so sweet. Called our room to make sure everything was good. The room was clean and complete. We never have to ask for anything!! Breakfast was yummy. Lots of choices. My husband said french toast was delicious. At check out, Anne was great! The staff makes you feel welcome! Thanks for caring.
Pleasant staff, nice looking rooms, but major noise issues. Everyone we met during our stay was super pleasant and gave a little extra effort to help guests (the breakfast attendant helped a boy who was having a lot of trouble with waffles and was extra patient and kind). On that subject the breakfast was decent and we got enough food in us for our rafting trip. They also clearly remodeled the rooms and the decor is pretty nice and everything works and the bed was decently comfortable. The major downside was that our room was absurdly loud. We were next to the elevator and there was a 2 inch gap under our door. That meant every elevator whine and guest conversation shot right into our room. To compound it, the outside door below us needs its slow close mechanism fixed. It slammed and slammed all night. The end result was that I got truly terrible sleep, the primary reason I go to a hotel. So I really can't recommend this place until they fix the door gaps and doors. Ideally there should be more insulation too, but the other issues are low hanging fruit that should absolutely get fixed.
We always use this hotel when coming to California twice a year. Love the indoor pool, hot tub, hugh breakfast and comfy beds. Staff isnt always the same. Some are excellent and some you can tell they don't like their jobs. Overall, I'll be back in April..
We were headed to Yosemite for a few days from San Francisco. I tried to find a town close, but also with amenities for getting prepared. This town was a great choice. The hotel was clean and very well located. We walked to the store and a restaurant. The buffet breakfast was limited but good and available early enough for us to get on our way. The room was very large. The staff was very helpful and friendly!
This hotel was perfect for our needs - comfortably able to sleep a family of 5 in the one room. The kids loved their swim in the pool, and the breakfast was fantastic. There was also a great grocery store across the road that freshly grilled anything you bought from the store for dinner.
A great hotel. Service was ok. But not wonderful. Pool wasn't too great but I didn't make a complaint. Breakfast was so good! A variety or things. After checking out i went back in to fill my water bottles and they let me. To me, that shows they care.
Our visit to Oakdale was somewhat accidental. I messed up a booking elsewhere and this is where our trip from Yosemite to Los Angeles took us as an overnight stop. The hotel is on the main strip leading through Oakdale. We arrived late afternoon having visited Yosemite and taking the state 120. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was neat clean and tidy and as a bonus (I mistakenly booked for 4 adults and a child - there were only four of us) we had extra space. The indoor pool was very nice and there was a pleasant outdoor seat where I took sun while the laundry went through it's cycle. There are some shops nearby and a few standard places to eat. The breakfast was the expected range to foods and of a good quality. All-in-all a very pleasant experience. Post script We managed to leave an item at the hotel which was found and identified as belonging to us. We were contacted and since then the staff at the BW have been going the extra yards to try and find an economical way of returning it to our home address in the UK. For this level of service they get extra brownie points. Thank you.
Like many people we stopped off here on our way from Yosemite to San Francisco. Glad we made that decision. We received a friendly welcome and after a little difficulty with the room keys we had an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and fresh and the pool and hot tub good too. The breakfast served excellent and good variety with helpful staff on hand.
We stayed for 1 night before heading to Yosemite. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was clean, tidy and the beds comfortable. We were impressed by the variety of foods at breakfast. The breakfast staff were helpful and kind.
We stayed two nights as our ‘base' for Yosemite. Positive: Room was clean, bathroom well stocked with towels and accessories. Front desk was ok, courteous and professional. Hotel location was good, next to grocery store and restaurants. Negative: our room was next to what appeared to be a large exhaust fan mounted on the outside hotel wall. The fan ran constantly. During the day, fan noise was not noticeable; however, during the night, the constant noise made it for a less than good night's sleep. There are other rooms that may be affected by the fan noise. Breakfast area was nice and clean but food choices were very limited.
We stayed 1 night here after Yosemite and before heading to Napa Valley. The room seemed freshly updated. The bed was quite stiff. We walked over to Javi's Mexican restaurant which was right next store, as well as a grocery store, so that was nice. Room was clean and well equipped with everything we needed including a mini fridge. The breakfast had a decent selection and the staff was great including checking in and those working during breakfast. The hot tub was also very nice.
Clean. Nice swimming pool with spa and sauna. Good breakfast. Family rooms for 5 or 6 have sofa bed, which is not comfortable at all!! It is a bit noisy when the room windows are on the main street. Nice ice cream place just next door
I had to stay in Oakdale overnight for business. Check in was smooth, room clean and looked relatively new. But the shower had a steady drip. I told the Manager, and she said too bad, maintenance isn't here. The next day, I went to shower and couldn't get any hot water. My belief is the hot water tank was emptied due to constant water drip. I had business meetings to get to, and was irritated. I called the front desk and asked to shower in another room. They gave me a key to the room next door and I proceeded to shower. The water was frigid cold, too. By this time, I couldn't try another room, as I had meetings to get to. Annoyed, cold, and upset, I did a half shower. I notified the management. I came back to my room and tried turning shower on and off again, and finally got drip to stop. With that, the hot water was replenished. 10-15 minutes later the front desk clerk checked the drip and shower and found there wasn't a problem. Here's the bottom line, having a hot shower is a basic requirement when you stay in a hotel room. That wasn't provided. I was told someone would call me and offer a financial compensation, and nobody did. Problems happen periodically. It is all about how you solve them to make up for an issue. I was very disappointed nobody ever called and apologized nor offered any sort of refund. I have stayed in a variety of hotels over the years and this is first time I was stuck with a cold shower. Thanks Best Western!!! But no thanks.
This is a first class modern hotel with brilliant staff who went the extra mile in customer service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading for Yosemite National Park as a great stop-off point.
I have never had a more enjoyable stay at any other hotel!! The Wi-Fi was incredibly fast, and the breakfast was so delicious and had so many options to choose from. The staff was so nice and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The pool was so relaxing after a long day, and i loved it being heated. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. :)
I travel to Oakdale for Business Several times a month and always stay at the Best Western Rama Inn! The staff is excellent and provide great friendly service. Almost like a second family now! Highly recommended!!
First thing I have to mention is one of the staff members who went over and above. We travel a lot so we know hotels, service etc. Her name is Kandi and I called the hotel a week before our trip as we were going to be there meeting kids and grandkids who were transferred to the area and we were all staying in hotels including on Christmas day. I wanted to know if any local restaurants would be open on Christmas that I may not have found on Google. She was busy working but asked if she could get back to me that afternoon after she was off work. And she did with some options, the phone numbers-she also had called them herself and gave extra info I might need to know. I did get to meet and talk to her while we were there and got to thank her in person for her above and beyond help. She is always working when you see her, when the phones and lobby are not busy she's folding laundry or sweeping or cleaning something, always keeping busy. I hope her bosses and best western know what a gem they have in her. If she wants it make her a manager and either way this lady deserves a raise. We had a king suite at a cost less than a regular room and it was very nice and comfortable including the bed. Decent free continental breakfast with a few choices, changes daily so if you are there for an extended stay you'll get some variety. Nice heated pool and conveniently located to anything you could need.
Very good service and rooms were clean The pool was very nice and relaxing after a long travel We were new to the area and they were very helpful with anything we requested. The breakfast was good but the average hotel breakfast We stayed 4 days and were very happy
I am very upset and cannot reach anyone about our experience. This hotel listed at $106.00 a night so we clicked into it and naturally it went up $30.00. It shouldn't list at a price it isn't but that isn't my problem. We accepted it but when my husband got to the hotel at 5:00 P.M. they said they had no room for him with a King bed. I had to pay extra for it on the sight. I sent him our receipt showing that I paid $147.00 for this room. They said that there was nothing they could do and that if he wanted it he had to pay another $18.00 dollars for it. That is trickery and a rip off!!
I don't think I've ever been told upon arrival that my reservation quote was wrong and that it had been changed to $20 more. Though the carpet in the decor was nice, the door to the stairs across the Wasteland, emergency lighting was making some type of screaming sound, and the door to the bathroom at a spring in the hinge that sounded like an outhouse door every time it closed
We spent the night at this hotel on our way to SAN Francisco from Yosemite. The hotel was very clean, staff super friendly and the room was comfy. I was very impressed by the value of this hotel. If we were staying more than one night I would have asked to be moved. Our room was across from the pool and the sounds of children playing and screaming could be heard In our room. The next morning all we could hear was stomping above us. It sounded like someone was doing an aerobic workout above us. If it wasn't for the noise issues, this would have been a great experience.
Excellent Staff, Super Breakfast and Housekeeping Excellence are three major reasons to stay here ... in addition to the indoor pool, sauna, and spa!! This is an unbelievable bargain in price for the service and cleanliness of this hotel ... Owners do an excellent job of choosing employees who make you feel like you are family, and employees always have a pleasant answer to questions and never see problems, but view them as opportunities to shine with solutions!! Best Best Western I have stayed at in the last decade!
Best hotel in Oakdale Ca. Quiet, clean and comfortable, rates are reasonable. Get a suite if your traveling with friends, little sitting area when you enter the room with large counter and sink, little fridge and microwave with own TV and sofa bed.
We stayed in one of the suites with an in room hot tub and I'll say after hiking around Yosemite for a couple days this was just perfect (extra $25 and worth every penny) . Hotel is half way between Yosemite and San Francisco and a perfect location to spend the night. Good restaurants around found a delicious Mexican place about a mile west on the south side of the street. Super Super Clean comfortable beds and cant beat the price. I read some bad reviews from the same group and it seems they may have been trying to get something for free because this hotel was spotless.
Good value, great staff, very helpful with a large wedding party staying at the hotel. Clean, property was in great shape. Good stay. Needed early check in for multiple room due to wedding party, staff was very helpful and we got in early.
Good clean place to stay on the way to Yosemite. The front desk people did a professional job and make check-in easy. The room was close to the front and near the breakfast area. Glad we made reservations as I saw people being turned away. Breakfast was ok for an early start on the way to the park. Was tired on arrival so really can't rate the room or service very well.
We stayed at this hotel coming and leaving Yosemite. It is a clean and updated facility. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The staff was helpful and professional. The breakfast isn't great but there are many options and you can cobble together an adequate start to your day.
Hotel was just plain average, The staff did their job including mopping the floor in the reception area; the breakfast was edible; the rooms were comfortable and the shower was hot. The price was within our budget. Lengthy trip to Sierra Mountains, but no hotels available in Sonora. All in all, we hoped for a clean hotel with easy access at a reasonable price and that is exactly what we got, so, average is not a bad thing.
Truly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western (Oakdale, CA). My children wanted to swim and the pool was great. I enjoyed the sauna and of course we all enjoyed the free internet and breakfast. i would recommend this Best Western to anyone that was not their way to Yosemite as we were.
We're a family of 3 adults and 2 teens (15 & 16) on a US touring holiday & were en route from San Fransisco to LA. We used this motel as a pre-booked stage for one night. We booked a single room with 2 Queen beds and a fold-out/sofa bed through Booking.com. Check in was excellent: smooth, polite and efficient. The room itself was excellent: spotlessly clean, large flat TV, 'fridge and microwave/coffee machine. TV had premium channels, including HBO. We had a peaceful, comfortable night's sleep. Morning offers a basic breakfast with cereals, coffee, juice, etc. There's ample room in the breakfast area. I did notice that the supervisor turned off the TV and breakfast machines a little early; I guess a subtle way of telling guests that breakfast time is over! There's a pool, gymn, etc, which we didn't use. No bar or restaurant. we got a takeaway pizza from a pizza shop right across the road. Can recommend this motel.
Arrived for a 2 night stay after 3 pm, room was not ready then at 9 am the next morning was told I would have to move rooms due to a mistake The room they put us in was requested. No help moving rooms and to top it off there is no parking at this hotel they let many work trucks and equipment double park I complained to manager and customer service but all they could say was sorry!
Very large Best Western motel in a main road. No noise inside the room. Beautifully decorated room, large and spacious. Decent bathroom. Large heated indoor pool, very appreciated. Huge breakfast room (meeting hall?) With a decent choice, table could be a bit cleaner. Recommended
Planned an exciting water rafting trip with my family. Upon check in, was discriminated instantaneously, not racially. If you stay here, make sure you are up to THEIR standards. Booked a king suite, room was very large, living room area big enough for extra guests, jacuzzi was clean, breakfast was amazing but hotel staff were very judgemental.
In town for family reunion. sad ot have our bath leaking water onto floor. Yikes , desk did not know what to do, so we suggestd they move us or fix it with plumber! Duh. they sent a plumber who fixed the problem, but dripped dirty water onto the room carpet. yuck. Oh well, Oakdale is a sweet town.
A clean, spacious and convienetly located hotel in a nice area. Several restaurants nearby as well as supermarkets and other shops. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Friendly and helpful staff.
We picked this hotel based on location between Yosemite and San Jose Airport where we would be flying back to Charlotte the next day. The hotel was nice, clean, and a good value for the price. Not very special, but nice. Very nice staff, nice that breakfast was served early enough that we could eat before we left around 7:30.
Overall clean and comfortable, well run, but did not get the room that I paid for. Great pool, very clean, and sauna. The breakfast was good, kept us going. Stayed here when we were on the way to Yosemite National Park. Just double check your reservation, to be sure that you get the room that you signed up for.
We picked this hotel because we scheduled a long day in Yosemite and didn't feel up to driving back to San Francisco. Location was perfect for that and surprisingly, there were several food options nearby. The hotel is at the beginning of town, so don't worry if you come from highway 120 and don't see anything before it. Hotel was clean, new looking, and comfortable. Front desk check in person was friendly and gave us a good dinner recommendation. The hot tub seemed fine at first, but I think they need to check the chemical levels more often. My daughter and I both had burning eyes after a few minutes in it, which is not normally a problem for us. Breakfast was good, not great. They ran out of meat and eggs, although we had at least 30 minutes before it ended. The staff was aware and working to replenish it, but when they did they brought such a small quantity not everyone waiting was able to get what they wanted. If the hotel can get more help in the morning or cook larger quantities, their guest's experience will improve greatly.
Great service, nice clean rooms and an indoor pool. Coffee is always available for my early morning departures and when I have the time, a nice breakfast is a wonderful way to start my day. Only drawback is it sits right on Hwy 120 - but I have never been bothered by any street noise.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Rama Inn, when visiting the Oakdale area. The staff is has always been helpful and friendly. Since we come here every year for our kids camps; we have become a familiar face to them. Great place to stay when on vacation.
After an easy check in and good advice from the front desk to park in the back and take the stairs instead of elevator, to avoid the long walk, the room was in good clean condition, bathroom was also very nice. Between the gym, indoor pool and location next to food and grocery, it is pretty nice. The breakfast offered in the morning could use a pick me up, but over all it was a good stay. Just don't be surprised Monday mornings at 4AM when the gardener outside your window fires up his leaf blower at 4am, and a few car alarms as well.
We travelled from Mariposa through Yosemite to this place - in 38 degrees. Large car park and foyer, air conditioned entrance and a smiling, welcoming, helpful gentleman on the desk. Couldn't have asked for a better welcome. Made polite conversation, checked us in efficiently and explained facilities clearly. Initially booked into a room right next to the drinks machines (far too noisy) we were moved without question to a room on another floor, opposite end to the machines (they're on every floor). There wasn't a lot in Oakdale so we made use of the pool/jaccuzi/sauna for 2-3 hours. Wonderful - just what we needed to recover from the journey and the heat. Walked through the town to explore a little, ate at the Mexican place opposite the hotel. Slept well. Shower great, room clean and spacious, very comfortable beds. Breakfast plentiful and relaxing. Highly recommended. Special mention to the guy on the desk through the night - who also helped me figure out the room's coffee machine!
typical best western facility but great staff....particularly shawn.. he went out of his way to accomodate our group and made it a very pleasureable experience. the complimentary bkfst was also well served by ?..... all in all, a quality experience!
Close enough to Yosemite NP, and a good mid-way point to-from the Bay Area. Loved their swimming pool/jacuzzi/sauna area. The room was basic, with fridge and microwave. We were given a handicap-accessible room, which was fine. Since there was no tub, the water overflows to the sink and toilet area whenever someone takes a shower. We only stayed for 1 night, but it was uncomfortable having a wet floor whenever you use the bathroom. Basic (complimentary) breakfast.
Worst experience in a Best Western ever, starting with refusing a AAA discount. Room was OK with some poor lighting and TV problems, but not worth the money paid. Really loud and irritating fan noise in bathroom.
This hotel was our first stop on a weeklong vacation to California. The staff were very nice and helpful. Suggestion to have lunch at the Mexican restaurant across the parking lot was perfect! The rooms were large, new and CLEAN! We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it was inviting. Breakfast was basic fare but certainly plentiful and hit the spot. Would definitely recommend to others.
Great staff!!! every shift had a wonderful person behind the counter. Breakfast was both hot and cold with a variety of items and rotation every day. The refresh in décor looks good, beds may need a little updating to something with out springs (for those who have lower back pain). The fridge, microwave and coffee pot were awesome for staying long term. WiFi was good but you have to sign in every 24 hours or so. Nice pool and sauna. Gym has 2 pieces of cardio equipment a bench and free waits with a water cooler. Really only bad thing is that the fitness center dosn't have an air control so it gets a little toasty.
We spent a night here recently on our way from San Francisco to Yosemite. Our room was clean & comfortable even though room temperature was above 75 upon our arrival. The free breakfast had plenty of options. The nearby area had gas, grocery, Subway, & Starbucks - perfect for restocking!
This hotel is a credit to Best Western. It's very clean and the beds are very cozy and I stay here for a night or two when I'm in the area. I travel quite often for work and leisure and often stay in 4-5 star hotels so I'm a little spoiled, but the Best Western Rama Inn's cleanliness, comfort and customer service fill my needs nicely when I'm traveling on a budget. Staff is very helpful and friendly and free breakfast in the morning is a great addition. It's a great rest stop if you're on your way to Yosemite from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Great accommodations for business travelers. We had a great stay and will be back! Quiet rooms, great beds. Would have liked a bit more lighting in one room, but overall great stay. We were staying while attending fire training in town and needed a lot of spread-out room, good internet, and you fit the bill.
A nice place to stay for a get away. Great location, close to restaurants and shopping. Has indoor swimming pool and hot tub for relaxing. Great family place. Had a great time as usual and definitely will be back
I stay here a couple times per year for working in the area, always like it here, clean, safe, nice staff, lots of shopping if needed, good local places to eat, pool and spa are inside, so I can use them anytime of year
My husband and i stayed for 4 days.It is a very modern Best Western. It was very clean and well maintained. They have a large breakfast eating section. The pool and spa are enclosed. The staff was friendly.
I had a great experience with the entire staff and accommodations. The staff makes you feel welcomed and conscientious of your stay and concerned that your stay was satisfactory. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but the cost to stay is somewhat high, may have the tendency to scare some people away.
We were heading to Yosemite to a campsite we had booked but after so many road closures we gave up as we had been driving for 16hours luckily we came across this hotel and despite it being the early hours of the morning the lady on reception found us a room. The hotel was pretty full so we ended up in a suite which had a jacuzzi bath which was a nice relaxing treat after the drive. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. Car park was free and plenty of spaces. There are also vending machines if you need a late night snack!
Perfectly comfortable hotel, providing exactly what I needed. Standard BW Plus, as best I can tell. Clean rooms/common areas. Good facilities available 24/hrs. Front desk staff friendly, efficient, prof.
Family trip - meeting in the middle of where everyone lives. Had a great time and the hotel was a perfect home base! We went to Nearby Knights Ferry for then Civil War Re-enactment. It was amazing to be in the park.
This was a very nice hotel and the decor in the room was very nice. There were many families yet the noise was very low. We would stay here again on our way through this area. The staff was helpful and also very nice.
This was an early Valentines present and it was a very comforatble stay. Clean, modern and roomy. The indoor pool, hot tub sauna and weight room, (with a shower nearby to rinse off before and after) were all clean and well kept. Clean towels are provided poolside so that you don't have to use your room towels There's a laundry room for guest use & is $1 to wash and $1 to dry, which came in handy ater swimming. Clerk (Monique) was helpful and printed a wepage for Chicken Ranch Casino/Bingo. Breakast was generous and varied. Dinning area was roomy and clean. Quiet surroundings except for Hwy 108 which is tame until the commuters go at it. I will bring a little fan next time to create some white noise or book a room away from the street. People who stayed here were not party types but rather blue collar workers and travelers
This was a late nite stop before a weekend visit with fam. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable about the breakfast buffet and with the control of television in the room which I had trouble with
I searched Oakdale for a hotel that I would feel comfortable and safe in for the evening. I needed a place to stay before an early morning funeral that I needed to attend. This place was economical in comparison and clean. However, I did find a couple of things during my stay that I found annoying but not a real issue. First, the room seemed warm all night despite adjustments made to the thermostat. Lastly, I finally go down for breakfast and a BW staff member decides that the moment I go down to eat does she decide to start sweeping the floor to the dining room. Other than those two odd issues, I would recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel with a descent breakfast at a "first night when arriving at San Francisco international Airport" distance towards for example Sequoia National Park. Free parking avaliable. Close to restaurants.
Having stayed in BW plus hotels in Napa and Monterey this one at half their price was better than each of them. Very helpful Dwayne on front desk showed us the local restaurant options in walking range after a difficult drive from Yosemite and breakfast had lots of options. Great bathroom and lovely bed. Would stay here again.
We got married in Vegas and traveled by car via San Fran to LA . Oakdale was a stop over hotel. Calling it a hotel as motel doesn't give it credit. Jacuzzi tub in the room/ big comfy bed, spacious bathroom with coffee machine. The pool / spa areas we had to ours selves , very clean. Small free breakfast again clean with member of staff to help with waffles! Would stay again !
I've stayed at other hotels in town and in my opinion this place is the best. My room was clean and up to date. The location is good, there are stores and restaurants near by (Javi's right next door has great mexican food). The staff at the hotel were both helpful and pleasant.
Very spacious nicely appointed room. Loved the bed, which is hightly important for my business travel to be able to sleep comfortably. White linens, a must and they provided. Fridge and micro and single cup coffee maker, cups prewrapped so no worries of not cleaned or santized properly. Only drawback is their wall A/C unit. They have gone the way of the high end Hotels in that, the A/C turns off during periods of inactivity and no lights which is while sleeping, although fan can keep blowing, the a/c temp get warmer. I suffer from an auto immune disorder and it was enough to wake me during night, which interupts my rest for next day work.
part of a travel tour in antique cars. we enjoyed out stay, and making out breakfast was easy and had a good selection. easy access and parking for out group. Pool delightful Staff helped with some research and made good suggestions.
It is a normal hotel not motel. Room very comfortable, nicely decorated, of decent size, with all amenities including microwave. Breakfast - continental, with fried eggs, sausages, waffles, cheese etc. Checking in and out easy, no hassle. Wifi of normal speed. On a minor side - the exit signs on the floors and for elevator are not very clearly indicated, i have not managed to get in the right direction of elevator without loosing my way. But that is easy to fix. Would stay again and recommend.
This is a fabulous hotel. We had a lovely room and enjoyed the use of the pool and tub. The breakfast was very adequate and the wifi free and fast. Best of all was the helpful staff. When we had a problem with our hire car Rachelle sorted it all for us by spending ages on the phone and fighting our corner for us. Thank you Rachelle.
Although we only stayed overnight, we were greeted very pleasantly by the night clerk and quickly checked-in. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The hotel is close to several restaurants and easy to reach the highways.
This hotel is clean and updated. Nice staff. Fridges in the rooms, great air conditioning, plenty of room to move about, great TV and the bathroom is well stocked with towels and toiletries. I'd come back ??
I booked a room for one night through booking.com. When I arrived at 10 pm after 14 hrs of driving they had sold my room to someone else because their system couldn't handle the security standards of my credit card. They had no vacancies. The person behind me in line had the same problem. Still they had not given her room away, her card didn't work even though she was there (mine worked fine with a PIN number) and that person got to go home and get cash to pay for her room. Not happy with their services. Had to find a different hotel at 10pm and they didn't even offer to help!!
These is the first time we vacation around the area, so these is the first time I stay at these hotel. I really like the hotel is small but very Coffey. I like the room was big and very comfortable, the indoor pool is nice all 3 days we wen in and there was no people at all. The breakfast hours are very good from 6:00am to 9:30am is the first Best Western hotel that I stay that the hour do not vary. I would definitely will stay in these hotel if we will be in the area
We made reservations in Oakdale on our way to Yosemite. The room was quite nice, but the customer service was excellent. The check-in was quick and efficient, and the gentleman who checked us in had excellent customer service skills. He made some suggestions for dinner, and his suggestion was perfect! I would definitely stay again simply because of the great service. When we woke up in the morning, he was again at front counter, and again extended his warm welcome and assistance.
This was a nice hotel. Its a 2 hour drive to Yosemite if you cannot stay in the park this is a good option. The indoor pool was nice since it was 101 degrees and I was tired of being in the sun. There are lots of nearby stores and a movie theater with recliners
We traveled from Indiana to California for a quick family visit and celebration. This Best Western was located near to where the celebration was and was also near other cities we visited during our stay. We loved being able to use their computer center and printer to print our boarding passes the evening before we left.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night (July 22, 2016) on our way to Yosemite. The hotel itself is perfectly located with lots of stores nearby for last minute shopping before heading to the park. The room exceeded our expectations; from its layout to size, cleanliness and overall upkeep, as well as in room amenities. As far as breakfast goes, it is a standard continental breakfast, but it definitely needs improvement. The breakfast fell short for everything else going great with this hotel. Finally, I would like to address our room location within the hotel. We were assigned room 319. Please keep in mind that this room is located next to the vending machine as well as the ice machine. In addition, this room has a connecting door. You can literally hear everything happening in the next room, as well as the noise outside the room. I tried switching rooms with no luck whatsoever due to unavailability for our room type (king size bed). The only option presented to us was to upgrade to a two beds room at extra cost, which it was not reasonable. We were told our room is a hotel room like any other room, and someone had to occupy it; however, as Best Western members we expected more. Free parking and Wi-Fi. We will definitely stay at this hotel if in the area again. Great hotel overall!
We flew into San Francisco airport about 5:30 PM on a weeknight. It took us about 2 hours 15 minutes to get to this hotel through traffic. I think this hotel was a very good choice for us as we were going to Yosemite the next morning. It helped get us there a little earlier! It only took us 1 ½ hours to get to the Big Flat road gate the next morning. - The room was clean. The bedding etc. was all in good shape. - The staff was all friendly and helpful. - The breakfast was good. The breakfast had bacon, eggs, cereal, bagels and a waffle maker. Cleaner and well maintained by the staff than a lot of hotels we have stayed. - There are stores across the street. We got a cooler and food from the Kmart across the street. This saved us a lot of money as we stayed at hotel closer to Yosemite next. I can see why this is a high rated stop over hotel in Oakdale.
The room was very nice with lots of handy features a little above and beyond the average. What really struck me though was how exceptionally courteous and helpful the desk clerks were. We were greeted with a handshake and "Hello, I'm Dwayne. Welcome to Best Western. How can I help you?" The staff both morning and evening were just exceptionally courteous and helpful. I overheard a young boy asking countless questions of the morning clerk and the clerk was so patient and cute with the boy. The only negative was that the room was a little pricey and they wouldn't give the AAA discount that they advertised because they were almost fully booked.
This hotel has to be by far one of my favourites that we've been too. The hotel itself is clean and feels nice the moment you first walk in. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was just perfect we went for the executive room with the jetted tub and omg we need this in our house it just was so much fun being able to relax in a bubble bath together while watching a movie just magical. It feels so romantic and was a perfect vacation together. I would highly recommend this hotel to any couple who is looking for their own romantic getaway.
This is a nice hotel about midway between Yosemite and the Bay Area. Oakdale is a nice sized town with lots of stores and food options to help you load up before you head to Yosemite. The rooms at the hotel are nicely updated, too. The main reason why I'm writing this review, however, is because of the EXCELLENT customer service we received. My younger brother left his wallet behind at the hotel with over $200 in it (he had been saving up his money for vacation). Once we made it to Yosemite and realized it was missing, we called the hotel to see if it had been found, figuring there was NO WAY we'd ever see that wallet again. Cathy gave us a call back later that afternoon and told us that one of the housekeeping staff had found the wallet and turned it in -- we couldn't believe it! Faith in humanity restored! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to wonderful staff at the Best Western Plus Rama Inn & Suites!
Excellent service and courteous staff. Arrived on a Thursday night, and it seemed only one staffer was on hand - the front desk clerk. When I mentioned that there were no hotel towels in the fitness center, he got them himself and restocked the shelves within a few minutes. This after he took care of a couple checking in and another client who had a question about his room.
We stopped here after leaving Yosemite. A great stop. Rooms were clean. Laundry facility was great. Kids loved the pool. Breakfast was standard fare. All in all a convenient relaxing stop for the night. No freezer in the fridges though if you need it. Ice makers on every floor.
We booked this hotel to stay one night before we went to Mono County the next day. It is very convenient and in the middle of town. The hotel is very clean. The kids enjoy the indoor heat swimming pool and the hot tub. The rooms are clean and have a lot of space. Over all it was a great stay! We like to stay here again in the future.
We staied in this hotel in our way to yosemite because it is in the middle way from San Francisco. There are many shops just across the street. They have free and good breakfast. The hotel is upgraded and very clean and comfortable.
Always clean and comfortable. Helpful friendly staff. Love the food in the mornings. Also pet friendly. We look for these hotels whenever we are traveling. Also, usually near good places to eat. Highly recommend these hotels to other people.
It is a typical Best Western room nothing special but overall a nice updated room for the price point. The room was clean. The main complaint I had was the traffic outside our room was very loud because it is on a busy road through town and it was hard for me to sleep because I was woke up constantly starting around 5am. Breakfast was below average for hotel breakfasts and was not maintained well. We ate around 8am and there was almost no food left and the coffee was running very low. WiFi worked great and it was a good location to stay on our way to Yosemite.
The hotel staff was very pleasant. The desk employee, (Cathy) who checked us in, was very helpful. We had some issues with ants coming in thru the window. She sent her maintenance man out to buy some floral scented ant spray. A couple of shots of the floral scented ant spray and the ants were gone and did not return. The room was just what we needed for exploring the area.
Rooms updated and clean. Hotel in easy spot to get around. Parking good and staff very helpful. Breakfast was good and room is large. Pool is small and so is fitness room in case it matters. Bed was on stiffer side too.
We always try to stay in this motel when we visit family in Oakdale. Occasionally we have had to stay in Modesto when this model was full. We especially like the warm indoor pool and the fact that this motel is always kept up.
This hotel was perfect for our family of 5. We were all able to stay in one room comfortably because of the pull-out couch. It was clean and the staff was pleasant. Breakfast was available, but we chose to join other family members for breakfast out. There were some great restaurants within a close drive. The only complaint, if I were to have one, is that the rooms were a little too warm. We turned on the air conditioner for a bit and took care of that problem.
Very clean hotel, excellent staff. Nice breakfast selections. Location was good with walking distance to the central area of Oakdale. I believe owner was on the premises and paid a great deal of attention to the hotel.
I was in town for business and loved this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful , the hotel is very nice by far the best as far as looks. The Bed was very comfortable , the only negative I have about the hotel is the fact that the pillows SUCKS, bring a pillow. I would recommend this home to anyone
We always stay there when in town. The staff always goes out of their way to accommodate us and the value is great. the rooms are very nice ,comfortable and clean and the amenities are great for the entire family.
Based on recommendations by local family, we booked rooms for a family trip. It was a very busy weekend for the hotel, but they went out of their way to accommodate us in the requested rooms. We ended up having to move around night to night at the beginning, but they did their best to assist that. The rooms were quiet, beds comfortable, and bathrooms clean and stocked with basics. The whole building apparently was recently renovated, and it showed. We didn't have any time to lounge around the property so can't comment on that. Breakfast was satisfactory for this type of hotel. Plenty of coffee, juice, waffles, cold cereal, yogurt, breads and pastries, eggs and either bacon or sausage, fruit. Price was reasonable. Maids were super friendly.
Very clean comfortable hotel. There was construction going on when we arrived for our 3 night stay. We got our room when it occurred to me to ask where it was located. Hopefully not right over the construction area right? You guessed it, right above the noise. So we asked to have another room in a quiet section, after all we were staying three nights. Lovely room located right next to the ice machine. Did you know people actually use the ice machine at 4:40 AM? Now I do. But the bright side to all of this is the Free Breakfast. Super clean area, kept well stocked with fresh ingredients.Could have used a few bananas but everything else was very nice. Oh and it has a lovely indoor pool.
great room, large and very clean, helpful staff. Central location, close to gas station, shops and restaurants. Good place to stop on your way to Calaberas County wine country, also good place to stop on your way to Yosemite.
our stay was just overnight, but the room we clean and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and informative. We asked about some negative reviews we saw online and we were assured that the hotel goes over and above to insure a clean and safe stay.
I recently stayed in the Best Western when I traveled to Oakdale for a memorial. The rooms have recently been upgraded and are nice and modern! The whole hotel was clean, though they had a large bee keeper group staying and they tracked mud in. The indoor pool is pleasantly warm as well as the spa. They do have a sauna though I didn't get a chance to use it. The breakfast is basic, but good for a free meal.
We were in town for a wedding and most guests stayed here. The rooms were acceptable. We reserved a suite, which was the minimal size I would expect for a normal hotel room. Everything worked, but the beds were extremely hard. I like a hard bed, but this was like sleeping on hardwood floor. A couple of glasses would have been nice (plastic and paper cups provided in room). Coffee maker made inferior brew, and coffee at continental breakfast was worse. Continental breakfast was not up to standard fare at free breakfasts.
I am writing to review my first stay at the Best Western Rama Inn, though due to business I will be having four more stays at this property in the coming year. Since Oakdale is a pretty small town, one does not (or at least they should not) expect the lodging options to be more than basic. That is what this Best Western provides, a basic place to stay with some nicer perks. The rooms are relatively large and comfortable, with cool color tones and contemporary furnishings. There are only 49 rooms total, all located on either the second or third floor. The ground floor is fully dedicated to the lobby, breakfast area/conference room, pool/spa, guest laundry, caretaker apartment, small workout gym and sauna. All rooms are accessed through interior hallways; no exterior walkways here. The highlight of my stay is actually the sauna. It is very nice to have one, and somewhat surprising considering that even high-end Hilton properties don't have these. Very big perk, BW! The one downside, though, is that this hotel does not have bath robes available at all. Getting robes and making them available to guests who ask for them to use the spa/pool/sauna would be very advisable. The workout area is very small, but can still be used. The stationary bike machine was not operational during my stay, but the treadmill worked well. Adding a pull-up bar here would be a nice inexpensive amenity. I got what I had reserved, a single King bed standard room. I am Best Western Rewards Diamond Select, and perhaps have become somewhat spoiled with other BW properties providing complementary upgrades to nicer rooms. No upgrade was offered, though I don't know if this property has anything more than just standard rooms. Just a small and generally unimportant note, but if you're looking to get upgraded yourself because of BWR status, consider my experience and don't expect to get anything more than what you reserved. I'll be staying here again myself, so I can certainly say it is recommended.
Clean, comfortable and in a good location. Wifi worked most of the time. Decent breakfast options. Hotel staff were nice and helpful. The price is a little high but I would stay here again if I was in the area.
As a stop-over point on our way to play in the snow, this was a convenient option. All the amenities expected of a 4-star hotel at a reasonable price. Hot breakfast was a key differentiator for us. Quality consistent with other large cities.
We stayed overnight. Close to lots of eateries and stores. Rooms were recently remodeled. Very clean and comfortable. I would definately stay again. We stayed in the suite which had a couch bed and two queens. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast could use a little help but sufficed.
The bridal suite was booked for our wedding night. We were able to check in about 20 minutes before check-in due to the room already being finished. When we arrived in the room, I was pleased with the look of it. I unpacked our stuff, got ready for my wedding and left. We came back after the wedding and discovered our fireplace and Jacuzzi both were not working. Staff was unable to get them to work as well. As a result, we were charged for a regular room rate instead. I appreciate the help of the staff but still disappointed that the main reasons for us booking this suite did not work.
Check in was smooth and easy. Had problems with wifi right off the bat not connecting but desk clerk had me up and running in 5 minutes. Rooms were pretty and fresh. Nice bathroom with big clean tub. Plenty of towels and necessities. Bed was comfortable and pillows were plentiful and soft. TV was a little hard to figure out but we got it! Ac seemed as if it wasn't blowing hard enough but room stay cool and comfortable our entire 2 dat stay. Indoor pool and hot tub were an added bonus to a long day that we took advantage of. Breakfast was hot with a nice selection of different items. Shawn the check out clerk was super handy with helping me print a receipt from my email. What a doll!!! We will stay here again when business brings us to Oakdale.
Traveling from Las Vegas to SF via Yosemite. Got this hotel since it was on the way. Have to admit I wasn't expecting much, but I was very surprised how good we were treated. From the check-in, to the check-out. We were always around friendly staff. And that call after we settled in our room to check on us and see if anything was wrong, or if we needed something extra for our stay was a really nice. Breakfast was pleasant. Lots of fast food restaurants around, so we could grab a quick bite to eat in the evening. And the bed was specially comfortable! We will definitely be staying here again when we drive though.
Everyone deserves a good night's sleep. Sleep is essential for my health and well-being and a quiet environment is a healing environment. In a normal working day there's so much coming at you to process that you just can't deal with it all. Getting good quality sleep makes me feel rested when I wake up. A comfortable sleep environment is an important factor in getting a good night's sleep and Best Western does it for me.
Nice clean rooms, new carpets, furniture, bedheads. Staff is friendly. Decent breakfast. We never used the pool, but it seemed clean and nice, enough parking space to share with a bunch of trucks of some people going to the rodeo that weekend.
A friend and I needed to stay in Oakdale for the Zombie train experience. Everything from the employees, to the price, to the room, to the breakfast was great. The room was comfortable and quiet. Although I normally stay at high end hotels, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the property, especially given the reduced AAA pricing. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent service & friendly employees. Loved the pool & spa. Great breakfast and very clean in the rooms, halls & hotel We were there for a family wedding and this was our first stay at Best Western. We would recommend this hotel to family, friends & for business.
Having stayed at numerous Best Western hotels over the years, the Rama Inn in Oakdale, CA, was the very finest we have ever experienced. Newly renovated, the rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. This was a second choice for us, not being able to get our first choice, and we were thrilled with it. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.
20 day road trip choosing hotels based on legs of the trip can be an adventure. Having never been through Oakdale, Ca. we lacked any firsthand knowledge as to its accommodations. We always feel B.W. is a safe bet and this was no exception, a clean well staffed hotel great beds and quite. If we ever get back to Oakdale the B.W.Plus is where you can find us.
My wife booked this hotel as a halfway stop coming from Yosemite going to San Francisco. First thing I'd like to say is that it is a good location to stay from a distance perspective. Check in was nice, I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the guy who checked us in, but he was brilliant and even called us once we got into the room to check everything was okay. The room was modern and clean. The heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi was exactly what me and my wife needed after visiting Yosemite and Sequoia parks. My wife also used the sauna. The hotel is really close by to lots of eating places. The pool was not busy at all only 2 other people in the pool. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Perfect place to stay for events at the rodeo grounds... It's literally within walking distance. Has newly remodeled rooms & an indoor pool & spa. Usual hotel breakfast & in room coffee makers, microwaves & mini fridges. Pillows were not comfortable, but beds were fine. Clean & modern.
There's not a great deal to say about this hotel. It's average, it was noisy and the door lock was broken. We didn't have time to use the facilities so I can't comment on them. Food and shops are close by and the hotel is easy to find. Breakfast was nice, with lots of seating and a good selection.
what can i say, i wasnt expecting it do be amazing but it was, after 3 days in the national parks and lots of walking a sauna and a heated pool was exactly what i needed. Although we only stayed 1 night here. it was really relaxing. the staff were really pleasant and the food places are within walking distance difintely recommend a stay here on your travels to or from yosemite
We have family in the area so we stay here once or twice a year. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is easy to find and conveniently located near stores and restaurants. The pool is warm enough for adults to enjoy.
