Ranten Hotell, BW Signature Collection

GOOD: (1) it is in the suburbs, very quiet, with good natural scenery, suitable for a vacation. (2) Breakfast food was good. BAD: (1) The room was small and the bathroom was compact and basic, making it difficult to turn around. (2) The check-in service is not good. We waited quite a while before someone comes to help. (3) Because it is in the suburbs, there are no grocery stores nearby, it is not very convenient. WORSE: We booked a suite and received email confirmation from BW the day before arrive. When we checked in, the hotel gave us a regular room instead. The reason was: the hotel was full and since we using points to redeem for room night so we were downgraded. The hotel gave our room to paying guest instead. The main reason i booked a junior suite instead of a regular room because I have limited mobility and need a larger space. I am not aware use accumulated reward points to exchange for accommodation won't have some benefit as paid customer? We will submit our complaint to BW headquarter after return to USA. We desire some explanation.

Great location, beautiful place to stay! And the restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. We ate well (too well probably) and enjoyed sitting by the fire in the fireplace. This is one of those places where the chef comes to check if you liked the food, and you immediately feel like family.

Relaxing hotel with phantastic view. A sunrise you will never dorget. Very friendly and serviceminded staff. Excellent beds. I look forward to coming back to enjoy skiing and hiking in the mountains around.

Good service, amazing location with a beautiful views. This is a great spot for hiking, skiing, fishing and it's located only 2 hrs from Oslo. The food was great and amazing surroundings. Definitely worth a weekend trip. Absolutely a hidden gem worth visiting. .

An unexpected surprise. When I booked this hotel I thought it was in a city. Good thing I had a cell phone to call the hotel and find out it is in the mountains. A wonderful experience I will never forget We were the only guest at this hotel. We were greeted by the Hotel Chef by the name of Bjarne Andersen. This man made our stay fantastic. He took the time to cook the two of us a complete and wonderful dinner including reindeer pate and a wonderful fish entree. This guy should get an award he catered to us like you would not believe. Breakfast was also a a gourmet delight. He drove many miles just to open the hotel for one couple in June of 2014. The room was OK but the real asset of this hotel is the chef Bjarne Andersen. A one of a kind gem who made two experience travelers very grateful to have met him. Thank you Bjarne.
