The room is outdated and needs renovation, so does the restaurant. I never see such an old style. The food was empty but the waiter did not refill it. USD 200/night was not worth it.
The premium room catch my attention as I was looking for a room with balcony / nice view to the sea as we want to enjoy some fresh air breeze from Okinawa, and premium room in Best Western is a great choice. The room is new, clean, good size for 3 adult & 1 kid. The location is easy to reach also, it is just a 2 mins drive exiting the highway. A family mart is downstairs for convenient purpose. Go for the premium room or above so the room is the newest look.
Our room was impeccably clean and the entire staff was very accommodating! The view from the balcony was breath taking. LOVED staying here!
Located right at the beachfront, there is a door that leads right out to the beach. It's public access so you can just go in and out. This makes the lifts very sandy. Staff were quite friendly. The dinner buffet cost 2500¥ for guests but there isn't that much variety. Nonetheless, the items like jellyfish were nice. Breakfast was pleasant as the dining room offered a good view of the beach. Good thing about the room was that there is a slider door separating the main bedroom and the kitchenette/bathroom. The heating of the room was so bad, it was extremely cold at night. It's a bit of motel-style in the sense that once you exit your room, it's the main corridor that is exposed to the outside, and not an indoor corridor. So overall that makes the room very cold. The floor is not carpeted also, so that makes it worse. Bathtub catch was a little rusty. Amenities are self-collected from the front desk.
Mr. Cho was absolutely accommodating, room was immaculate. We stayed on the 7th floor overlooking the ocean. Everything in the room was perfectly in it's place. Beds were firm and comfortable, showers were great. Separate toilet/shower areas. We stayed in the larger room and would recommend it to anyone who wants a great view at an affordable price. Also included a complimentary breakfast located on the 2nd floor, great buffet, good tasting assortment of food and the entire hotel staff were amazing. There is a family mart convenience store located within the same building which makes for easy shopping if you want a late night snack, drink, hot or cold assorted food bento trays and the list goes on. We will stay here again on future trips for sure. Minutes from the city of Nago, about 30 minutes from the ocean expo aquarium park. Would highly recommend for a few days stay.!! Thank you Mr. Cho and the entire hotel staff. Don and Naomi🙂
Nice cozy hotel with easy access to nice beach. Friendly and helpful staffs. Clean room with balcony of nice ocean views. Breakfast with nice variety of food and drinks. Quiet environment with easy road access to other attractions.
What a lovely hotel. Sea view in the room and restaurant. Enjoy the sea view in the balcony, feeling comfortable and eased. Just few steps away from the Hotel, there is a beach and love sea. Many pupils enjoy their water sports in such beautiful sea . Watching this scene makes my day!
Excellent hotel, it is very new and clean and tidy. We got upgraded to family room, where the beds are super large, our girl loves the room. The infinity pool at 2/F is fabulous, with awesome view. The staff are all very nice and helpful.
1. spacious room with seaview balcony 2. nice staff 3. nice buffet breakfast with okinawa specialties 4. free breakfast for under 6 4. convenient store next to the hotel 5. near to bus station bad: 1. lights are too dim 2. the position of air-con is bad, directly face the head
This Best Western is ideally located for exploring northern Okinawa. It has free parking right outside and is right on the beach, which was beautiful even in December (if too cold to properly enjoy). There are various restaurants within walking distance and a Family Mart on the ground floor, although you do need a car to get around. Staff were always welcoming, although their English was limited. The public areas have been refurbished fairly recently and a new annex added with mode modern rooms. The regular rooms are very large (including a kitchenette), but fairly outdated, with scuffed walls and furniture. The bathrooms are also large, including large bathtubs and shower areas - they are showing their age, though. Thorough room cleaning was undertaken every day. Breakfast was quite extensive, with plenty of options, although understandably more geared towards a Japanese clientele. The hotel did fill up during our stay, which meant we had to queue for breakfast a couple of times. We paid about GBP70 per room per night including breakfast which felt right for the quality and time of year.
A bit pricey for this hotel, but location is ok, with restaurants across the street. Unfortunately the convenience store was closed (for renovation?), so that was a bit inconvenient.... Beach view was quite nice, room size is ok, with a small kitchenette in the room. The room was a bit dusty, but in general clean. Breakfast was ok. Quite a lot of foreign guests staying. I didn't quite like the "open corridor" design..... quite noisy in the evening with the cars passing by, and it can be quite cold and windy when you leave the room.
My family stayed on the 10th floor with a room which was like a mini-apartment. It had 4 very comfortable beds (2 were in a room and 2 were part of the living room), a living room which was a great place for us to relax after a day of sightseeing (the 2 beds were to the corner so there were visible but did not take space in the living room). There was a balcony which had a great view of the sea. There was only 1 bathroom but I think for 4 people, if everyone plays their part, it is not a problem. The major bummer was that there was only 1 lift for the whole building and it is the same lift the staff take (though the staff were very courteous, they would not use the lift if there were guests in it even after we said it is okay). So it took some time because the lift was always being used by many people.
My wife and I stayed here for two night. The hotel is easily accessible. The parking lot is spacey. The receptionists are well commanded in English. They are welcoming and helpful. The room is very clean. There is a balcony behind the room that you can see a very nice sea view. The bedding is good enough. The refrigerator is empty. An electric kettle is available. There is no drinking water. You can drink tap water or buy bottles of water from family mart. The remote control of TV and air condition are only in Japanese. We struggled using them. Luckly, we have google translator. The breakfast is fairly good. The wifi is available. The check out process is fast and easy.
The hotel location is easy to find, with free parking space, and FamilyMart is right next to the reception area. The room is big, with a huge balcony, the breakfast is just right with good coffee selections, we loved having breakfast and admired the ocean scene, which is just a few steps to the hotel.
Cons: 1.Hard bed, time to change perhaps. 2. Only one lift so can be a wait during breakfast and certain hours. 3. Only one English channel on TV. 4.- No mineral water provided when price is above average. Pros: 1. Huge toilet. 2. Spacious room with sink area. 3 Fairly good breakfast spread. -4. Air con vent blowing directly on our faces in bed so kept waking up at night. We stayed 3 nights. 5. Free carparking was great. 6. Family mart on SITE. 7. Restaurants just opposite the hotel. Overall, stay was good except for the poor sleep quality due to the hard bed. A bit pricey for this slightly tired hotel.
Very outdated Hotel. The pictures of the hotel are not the same as it is currently. Must have been taken 10 years ago. I payed more than 50.000yen for 3 nights, but the price should have been way lower because the hotel really is nothing special. The beach in front doesn't have any chairs!! And you have to pay extra for beach towels, there is nothing to rent, no bikes or activities in the beach. Breakfast is ok for 3 star. Management it is time to renovate the hotel, upgrade the beds and overall services.
Business trips - I stayed hear twice (June and September) 5 days each time. No complaints – It's a 1-hour to 1.5 hour from NAHA Airport to the hotel – depending on the route. FYI – take the highway and be prepared to pay tolls. If you take a taxi, they will pay the tolls and charge you when you reach your destination. From the hotel to my location at Camp Hansen it was a 25-minute taxi ride approx. 3200yen one way. The hotel is modern and clean. Some of the staff speaks English. You can get through with Google Translate. Make sure you download the OFLINE Japanese files. Wi-fi was good. They have buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. A mix of food for both but mostly Japanese. Note if you want western food then usually the hotel description will say so. If it doesn't, call the hotel. Remember you are in Japan and just because you're at a Western Chain doesn't mean you're going to get western food. There's a Family Mart attached to the hotel, very convenient. I believe all rooms are outside corridors but verify for yourself. I was upgraded because of my status with Best Western. The first room was more resort style on the 11th floor. Small Kitchenette, two rooms with two twin beds each plus a sitting area. Very American in size. The next stay they upgraded me to an Executive Room that was more Japanese sized. Two twin beds with a small loft. The loft had Futon mattress only and not enough head room to ceiling for a person over 4 feet tall - good for small children. The hotel has direct access to the beach. I was there in June and the beach was cleaner. In September there is a lot of stormy weather and the beach wasn't as clean. I do not know who is responsible and I didn't ask. Still people in the water when it wasn't raining and still able to the beach. This is all normal for the location. Yes, I would stay again.
The view from the room and Family Mart next door were the only positive things. The hotel is very old and badly managed - shame for the Best Western chain. It was dirty and the balcony was not that nice as on the pictures or were given a terrible room (807). The reception was inadequate. The parking was limited. It was not worth the money at all. The beach was dirty too (full of plastics and other garbage) and the hotel did not bother to clean even the territory of the hotel on the beach. The breakfast was poor and nothing for western style/option.
Great stay at Best Western Okinawa Kouki during my vacation. The hotel is right by the beach and the breakfast is excellent. There is a big family mart at the compound which makes it convenient for occupants. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good stay by the beach in Okinawa.
Check in was quick and the staff all spoke very good English. The room was very nice. Big by Japanese standards with a great view of the beach from the balcony. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast was included. It was ok but was mostly suited to Asian tastes. We were here to relax and did so, with the hotel arranging a massage at short notice. The staff were excellent. This hotel is an hour from the Naha airport which really requires a car to get to and from, so bear this in mind. A few restaurants within walking distance but everything else requires a car to get to. This wasn't a problem to us. Overall, an enjoyable stay.
Stayed at the Best Western Okinawa Kouki Beach hotel for 3 nights in end Jan 19. Upon arrival, the reception counter was very helpful and welcomed us to deposit our luggage there as we arrived very early before check-in time (15:00). So we were able to free ourselves to proceed to visit places of interest and check-in later in the evening. The room as well as the toilet were surprisingly spacious and of very clean standard. The shower facility is best. There is even a kitchenette with a tap and sink in the room; very convenient when you make your drinks. All hotel rooms here have a balcony that faces the sea - a small round table with two chairs are also provided in the balcony, so you can be there to relax and chill over snacks and drinks which you can buy from the Family Mart store at the ground level of this hotel. The constant sound of waves adds to the nice relaxation you can experience. You can also get down to the beach for a walk. This hotel also provides a very good buffet breakfast. There are also some food outlets opposite the road. Besides, it has a very big car park and parking is free, which adds to the convenience for those who have rental cars. Room security is also good.
The hotel is basic but located right in front of a quiet beach which feel like private beach. Though far away (50 minutes drive) from Naha's attractions but close to the Aquarium and Kouri Island or other areas in island north. The room is reasonably sizeable and clean. My room has a magnificent seaview (the water is insanely crystal clear!). Hotel staff is friendly and speak reasonably good English. You can also find a few good eats across the street.
Good clean hotel, no frills, quiet, basic and convenient. Lawsons next door, laundry room and spacious rooms with large bathrooms, most have amazing seaview rooms.Beach is just in front of hotel and outdoor seaports centre next door. Only thing missing in room is a safe but there combination locks at reception.
I just spent 7 nights at the Best Western Kouki Beach and really enjoyed myself. The hotel is well sited for visiting the northern regions of Okinawa, which are less visited. The hotel is on a longish beach, which is good for walking, shelling, and swimming. My first day there was after a tropical storm, and I was able to find some beautiful shells. My room is one of the renovated ones, on the top floor, 11, and was modern, well appointed, clean, and had an amazing view of the ocean and the sunset. The staff was friendly, and the gentleman working the front desk helped me figure out how to use the Japanese washer/dryer. A free buffet breakfast was included with Western and Japanese options and a beautiful view. There is a Family Mart to the side of the hotel, which was quite helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. well sited for visiting the northern regions of Okinawa, which are less visited. The hotel is on a longish beach, which is good for walking, shelling, and swimming. It's just wonderful for vacation, beach is just out from hotel lobby and you could see the beach view from balcony. Room is big compare the price you pay in city, the bathroom is design for wash sand away after you come up from beach. They also have fantastic beach view in restaurant for breakfast!!
We stayed for one night at the Best Western Okinawa Kouki Beach as a stop for our self drive itinerary. Despite that we actually checked in after 9pm, the hotel staff greeted us with a nice warm smile and even offered us two bottles of mineral water to welcome us. They also kept the room which we requested so that we could have the necessary amenities which we desired. At the same time, despite the last minute arrangements, they were able to arrange massage services for us by contacting the Therapists. We had a restful night, woke up to the delicious complimentary Japanese breakfast and a beautiful sea view to behold. We managed to get a little time to enjoy the beach before heading to our next destination. Very nicely appointed hotel with good size rooms and complete amenities. A must for anybody who is in the Kouki beach area.
This hotel is situated a bit far away from many attractions, so please ensure you have rented a car for traveling around Okinawa. There is free parking bay just in front of the hotel entrance. The complimentary breakfast is just ok and I think the room is a bit overpriced. The overall experience is good anyway.
This hotel is located on a beach and each room has a view of the water with a balcony. The room furnishing are not very updated and come with two twin beds. Nice breakfast each morning located on the second floor.
Stayed there for 2 nights which I enjoyed a lot. Parking is free, available just outside the hotel lobby. When we returned late at night, spaces closer to the front door were occupied, so we had to park a bit further (but that was totally fine). A convenient store, family mart, is just right next to the lobby so it was very convenient for us to grab some snacks at night. There was also a lovely cat around! Hotel's lobby and restaurant might have been renewed recently since it looks new and nice. The restaurant where we had complimentary breakfast has a wonderful view to the ocean. A public Shabu shabu is available as well! The room itself appears to be a bit old, but had no problem to enjoy my stay at all. There is a balcony where the sea view is also very beautiful. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
The hotel located near many restaurants, attractions and there's convenient store at the ground floor. Room and toilet are quit big and clean. Ocean view from our balcony and hotel's restaurant are so good. Breakfast's delicious especially okinawa style food, i do loved it. :)
First off, the hotel is in a dreary corner of Okinawa and situated some way off of the city to the south of Nago. The location offers nothing to be inspired by, with a couple of restaurants opposite and a family mart downstairs. The check in was smooth and is modern clean and attractive. However, that's where the positive points end. My room was old, smelly and a bit of a mess. There were scuffs and marks all over the room. The room has a certain scent from certain guests. Not clean. The room has no sound proofing and all night I heard bikes outside zooming by. This kept me awake until 5 in the morning. Unfortunately because I didn't get any sleep and I was woken up by the cleaning ladies making a racket in the morning from 7am, I slept through the breakfast, where there seems to be positive comments. The cleaning staff need to stop making such a noise; I have never experienced anything like it. This applied to the rooms next to me, the room above and below. Even worse when I saw one of them she didn't even acknowledge me with a hello... dire. Bed was uncomfortable, bog standard. Shampoos and shower products like something from a love hotel, cheap and nasty. Awful, awful experience. Best Western caught my eye as a global brand at a cheap price but this was overpriced. Wouldn't go anywhere near this place again.
Staff friendly. Acceptable buffet breakfast (fresh fruit would have been welcome). Rooms clean. Bathroom good. Bedroom right out of the 80s decor...but what you really go for is the beautiful beach! Would stay again. Rent a car so that you can travel around.
???????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????? 1???????????? ????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? Perfect view and comfortable atmosphere. Good for those who want to swim in the sea. Convince Store located in the same building.
This hotel is quite isolated, but has a convenient Seven Eleven Store situated on the ground floor below the hotel. There are two small restaurants across the street. Food in the hotel was very good and the buffet served in the evening was good value for money. The hotel was under renovation when I visited, but my room was clean and well maintained during my three day stay. I missed not having a pool even though the hotel is right on the beach. The beach was very uncomfortable, as there are no loungers or places to sit and relax. Shoes had to be wworn at all time even when in the water as the beach is coral and impossible to walk on. I enjoyed standing on the balcony as the ocean is just meters away. To take advantage of this hotel, one definitely needs to have a car. I felt reeally stuck without one.
They have a receptionist who speaks good english, so check-in was smooth. The breakfast was great with a decent variety and tasted good. The room was good, comfortable and the bath was good too. Best part.... the seaview room.... what more can you ask for when waking up to a view like that
Wonderfully convenient Hotel with a great view from the room- almost as if one is right above the ocean. Access to an almost private beach is an added plus. The food and the ambience is standard fare. Although I must say, a little bit of focus for vegetarians in food menu would be hugely appreciated.
Hotel is basic but the fantastic sea views more than make up for that. Room was well laid out and the views from the balcony were brilliant. Would recommend if only for the location. If visiting here you do need transport as it's not easy to get around otherwise.
It was renamed under Best Western. The room is a bit old but decorated, with all the basic facilities. The staff can speak simple English. The breakfast buffet also serves Okinawa style food, which is good. And you can look at the sea while eating breakfast. Good for drivers. Family Mart is just downstairs.
Right on the beach, short drive to plenty of great restaurants, decent breakfast. I'd be happy to stay here again, no complaints. There's even a convenience store right downstairs, so you can easily pick up some essentials if you need
I stayed this hotel one night on 12 August 2016 It was great. The room was very beautiful. The bed was very soft. And you can see beautiful beach from your room. And has family mart at 1st floor. So, if you hungry at night, you can go there. I really had a great time here.
Stayed 6 nights, the only reasonable priced hotel at beach front that we could find. The room is small but has a very nice view of the ocean. The breakfast is okay, they could have more tropical fruits but I have no complaints. They also have laundry facilities, which is very helpful if you stay long. The best is that they have a convenient store just next door and a few restaurants just cross the road. Very handy if you don't want to drive 10 minutes or more to have decent meals. Some company offers short boat snorkeling trip just on the beach. But if you are good swimmer you can swim out and see lots fish and corals. Location wise I do think the hotel is the best and would recommend for couples and small families.
Clean hotel Good complimentary breakfast We paid about 110usd per night You need a car to get here Free parking Beachside hotel 35usd for snorkeling behind the hotel (20 minutes) which is a really high price compared to other places Room comfy Ask for a room with one bed so you dont get two double beds if you are a couple All rooms face the beach Gorgeous sunsets evenings Family Mart convenience store in the bottom of the hotel Two restaurants across the street from hotel but not much else around the hotel
We found this hotel while driving up from Naha to visit the Aquarium. To our surprise, it offers an incredible beach view/ocean front! Free parking, wi-fi, and very nice breakfast also with a beach view. Yes, you do need a rental car. We highly recommend a car to explore Okinawa regardless where you stay. For this price, the hotel room itself and the beach was unbeatable. We recommend it to everywhere and will return again, hopefully soon!
As other reviews here have said, this is not a new hotel, but what you will get is an ocean view at a reasonable price. All the rooms have a balcony that overlooks a beautiful quiet beach. The rooms are clean and have all the facilities you need. There was a complimentary breakfast in the modern dining room on the second floor and they even provided buckets and spades for the kids to play with on the beach. The staff were courteous, but not particularly friendly. Would it hurt you to smile a little when you hand over my card key? Make sure to book this hotel only if you are planning on using a rental car. It is a 15 minute drive from the center of Nago and the public transportation is scant.
There is what you want at the hotel. Ocean veiw! Could be saticefied with Sunset&Sunrise.Chairs and table on the teras where you would drink. Free Wifi. Clean bath room. A mammoth refrigerator that is convenience store though. In front of the hotel you could enjoy nice Okinawa restraunt or American steak&sea food. What you need is a car. It is far from airport.
My sister and I stayed in this hotel for 8 days in Feb and we loved it. The room was spacious. All rooms had seaview with a balcony. The bathroom was large. We loved the breakfast. If you like cereal, there's not much choice. There's your usual bacon, eggs, sausages and loads of choice for bread and bakery. But if you love Japanese food, you will love your breakfast. There's even shabu shabu . I cannot fault the staff. They cannot do enough for you. They may not speak English very well but we got by with gestures etc. We loved that there was laundry facilities for guest. This makes such a difference when you are on holiday. And it was cheap to use as detergent was complementary. We had to ask someone from recetion to help us as we didn't understand the instructions. Although they were busy at reception, the lady came up and was so helpful. Also, there were clean cotton pyjamas for us daily. I travel round the world and I cannot fault this hotel. There were little surprises with their service. And the beach by the hotel was lovely. Clean, full of coral and seashells. Lots of lovely restaurants within walking distance. Wifi was fast and strong down at reception and breakfast room. So...only little problem is no wifi in room but this is not a problem. We are on holiday after all. I have already booked to return next year.
The view from the room is excellent. There hotel is at the beach side that you can enjoy sun and beach very convenient. As a budget hotel, the service and facilities offered is reasonable. The decoration of the hotel is old but still maintain good. Just one point bear in mind that there is no double bed room.
The hotel is far more worse than I expected. Firsly it's not cheap so I will expect more, but once I open the door I found it's a very old fashioned hotel room. The fan is full of dusty. The kettle and the tap for shower doesn't work properly. Bedsheet and pillow are very old. Even I can't open the door at the first very beginning and I need to ask the lobby staff to help. The hotel itself stated it has a personal beach but actually the hotel is right situated alongside the beach so everyone can access to the beach. I think I won't stay here for my next visit since everything is very old.
AJ Kouki Resort Hotel is located on the right if you travel south on Route 58. There is a convenience store next to the hotel, of which I believe most of the room guests take much advantage. The hotel restaurant is on the second floor, but we did not try it for dinner. We had breakfast there the next day. It was delicious. Our room was fine. We slept with and woke up to the sound of waves down the hotel. There was a mini kitchen, but we did not bother to use it. Only one key was provided. No door bell was installed outside the room. Wi-Fi was available, but we used our own mobile router instead. The hotel was worth what we paid for. We were satisfied with what we got.
We stayed here a few nights on the top floor. The hotel is directly at the beach and all rooms look over the sea. The breakfast was mainly japanese style but there is a convenience store on the ground floor. There is a small kitchen in the room but we did not find any tools to cook. Hot pot and a large fridge are available as well. The room has a LAN connection and the hotel supplied us a router for the wifi, which was free and working well. There are a few restaurants nearby but for shopping you may need another 10 minutes by car.
great hotel service great breakfast room are old and smell beach are so nice but don't had safe guard on duty please well prepare all the swimming kit easy to find the hotel and next to hotel there had lots of restaurant and easy to access to other landmark sightseeing point i love this hotel service!! please rennovation
