    « Mediocre »

Great reception from two friendly and helpful front desk attendants. First room assigned was on the first floor and dark, damp, aged and smelled. We asked for a room change, and they immediately accommodated request. Overall hotel is okay, its looks very new on the outside but very aged inside the rooms. It met the need for a one night stay , but I will not choose BW again price was high for what we got. Will go somewhere more consistent.

« Not up to Best Western Standards »

The hotel needs some interior TLC. The guest room had a strong mildew'y odor to it. A party the night before seemed to have gone unnoticed as drink glasses were left abandoned in the hallway for a good part of the morning. I will not be returning. We relocated for our second night to Springhill suites next store. A little more expensive but a real pleasure to stay at.

    « Love Frannie! »

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff were ever so helpful. At breakfast Frannie made sure everyone had everything they wanted and said God bless you. My three sons loved her and got hugs from her! We just had to get a picture with her before we left. The beds could be more comfortable and the shower was a little small.

    « Charleston vacation »

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was good. Location is great, easy access to Charleston and a lot of good restaurants nearby. Only complaint was our room keys did not work for the entire stay.

« Pleasant and helpful staff. »

Nice breakfast - eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage, breads, small danish and muffins, waffles, cereal, coffee juice. But the best part was Franny - true southern gem (she helped with breakfast.) All staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Average hotel room - ours did have a musty smell. The reason for the 3 stars was the room smell.

    2
    « Horrible experience »

We had an extremely bad experience at this hotel. Room smelled extremely musty and curtains on the window were extremely sheer and see through. There was a parking lot outside our window with a huge street light that streamed into our room all night since we had no way to block it. Between the smell and no sleep due to the light in the room we couldn't wait to check out. Breakfast was a one positive note. Also the afternoon/evening desk staff was very friendly but when we checked out in the morning we were barely greeted and she didn't bother to ask how our stay was.

    4
« Most pleasant breakfast experience ever! »

We were very happy with everything at this hotel but you are blessed with a gem like Franny orchestrating the most wonderful breakfast buffet. Her cheerful gregarious welcome started everyone's day off right, with a smile and an appreciation for all that she was offering us. Her cheerfulness was contagious. Looking forward to the next time.

    « Great location »

We stayed 3 nights and really liked our stay here. Our room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfy with nice soft pillows. Shower was hot and powerful. We had no problems at all with WiFi or TV. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The only reason I'm not giving 5/5 is the breakfast. The room is far too small for a hotel of this size. Some mornings all the tables were taken and there just wasn't the room to get your food. I'd like to make a mention to the lady who was running the breakfast room over the weekend. She was brilliant, always kept coming in asking if everyone was OK and if we needed anything. This is a nice hotel in a good location which I would recommend.

« Not fancy but clean and nicely located »

We selected BW because we wanted to go to Ft Sumter. The hotel is practically in walking distance to Patriots Point - but we drove. Lots of places to eat in the area. It's also a short ride from Charleston. So if you'd rather not stay in Charleston and aren't looking for a fancy place, this is fine. The free breakfast is good and the staff is very helpful.

    « NICE AND CLEAN!!!!! »

I'm so happy I chose this hotel for my cruise stay. I had a really bad experience at another hotel in North Charleston a couple of years ago so I was really skeptical about this hotel. But I'm beyond pleased and happy that I stayed here before my cruise. The shuttle service to the port was very easy but coming back was a little difficult because the shuttle that dropped us off wasn't there when we got off the ship. So after contacting the bus driver he sent us a taxi which was actually cheaper then the shuttle bus. The hotel was very nice and clean. I really like the area and I felt like my car would be fine parked there for the week. The employees were extremely friendly and the morning breakfast was delicious. This will be the only hotel I will stay at for now own before my cruise.

« One night stop on a longer trip »

Hotel is conveniently located to all there is to do in Charleston. Room was clean and beds comfortable. The ongoing rehab put us off a bit so my rating is a bit low. We would stay here again because of the location.

    4
« Basic comfort and good location »

I spent one night here after arriving from Boston. The hotel is in busy Mt. Pleasant but on a side street which is fairly quiet. (It was bad luck that there was construction going on at a nearby property.) The room was small but comfortable and had all the amenities I needed, I chose this hotel partly for the hot breakfast, which was average. The breakfast layout was better organized than in most motels. The one negative I have is that, when I checked in, the desk clerk was having a private conversation with her partner behind the desk (security man, I believe), and this continued while she was working with me. I consider that unprofessional, and for a hotel as nice as this, I think the management should discourage personal repartee between employees while they are dealing with customers.

    4
« Nice hotel, good location »

Can't say anything really negative about this hotel. Location is very convenient for exploring the Charleston, good parking, clean rooms with good beds, satisfactory breakfast, polite staff.. Just a couple of minor minuses: no shelves in bathrums and relatively poor soundproofing of our room - I had to run AC in fan regime for white noise. Overall - good value for money.

    « Visiting a college student »

Upon arrival at Patriots Point, we were told pool would be closed. We specifically booked this hotel due to the pool. We wanted to swim. I was at the desk asking about the pool hours and the clerk didn't respond, however a passing employee just blurted out that it's closed for 4 days. Next on the 2nd day, we realized that our door did not close all the way as we left. This meant that anyone can just push the door and walk in. We reported to the desk, and told we didn't want to leave the room until the door was fixed. Waited an hour and no one came. At that point we asked again only to be met with annoyance from desk clerk. We decided to put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and take all valuables with us. This hour wait caused us to be late for our tour, and there were no more tours for the day available. We were also very un easy leaving our room un locked, but we didn't have a long stay so we needed to meet our college students and get on with our trip. By putting the do no disturb on, we obviously were not provided clean towels, soap etc. Other notes to mention; we did not feel comfortable walking on the carpet barefoot. It was gross and sticky, plus the bathroom sink did not drain properly. the only positive I have to note is that the lady providing the breakfast was SO nice. Every morning, she greeted everyone so very pleasantly!!

    « Affordable vacation »

You get much more for much less money than staying in downtown Charleston. Breakfast daily, coffee, tea, water always available. Nice outdoor pool. No fee to park at hotel. Short drive or Uber ($16) into Charleston. 1.2 mile walk (25 min) to Patriot's Point. Employees at the hotel were pleasant and helpful, and Franny, the warm and welcoming breakfast attendant, was a pleasure to see each morning. She was attentive to every family's needs, and made each person feel special.

    « Clean and convenient »

We wanted to see the USS Yorktowne, USS Laffey and USS Clagmore at Patriots Park. The park is literally within walking distance of the hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Coffee is available 24 hours -- greatly appreciated.

    5
« Friendly staff and clean! »

The Staff was friendly and very helpful! They even delivered a few forgotten toiletries within a few minutes right to the room! The room was clean and just perfect for a weekend to visit the USS Yorktown. Perfect location to it.

« short trip to Charlston »

Clean room and very hospitable staff. Nice welcoming front desk, fresh and southern breakfast. I stayed in the room with two queen beds. It was clean and comfortable with all little things that I need for my short trip to Charleston. The restroom was clean and upgraded. It seems that the hotel is done a lot to renovate and still in process to update some details for guests, as elevator and carpet. I enjoyed.

    4
    « Pleasant stay »

Staff were friendly and helpful. Checkin was done in seconds, the room was spacecious and clean. Standard breakfast was available. The Hotel is close to a number of Restaurants but we were facing some difficulties to find one which served a good meal in a quiet atmosphere.

    « Never again »

Not accommodating at all. We came in for my sisters wedding. They wouldn't even put us next to each other after asking 2x before arrival and them telling us okay. Instead put us in adjoining room with strangers and they complained at midnight that we were talking and our TV was on. Our toilet kept breaking and spraying out from the tank.. some water line. The bed sheets didn't fit. They wouldn't even zipper on. We woke up on a dirty stained mattress.

    « Over might »

First off! Shame on management that only ?one? person available for check in. 98% had reservations Took 2 hours in line to get a room key. The clerk at the front desk did a great job. Not his fault no other staff on duty. Mgmt might think to cross train others on duty when a crowd arrives. No restaurant - coming soon. Bar open til midnight - room was very clean - pool water. Cold heater broken -safe hotel

« convenient, clean and a good stay »

We stayed here for one night on our visit to Charleston. The hotel is minutes from the impressive bridge which joins Mount Pleasant to Charleston. It was a left turn right after the bridge on the mount Pleasant side.We arrived late afternoon, checked in to our comfortable room. Great beds and pillows. Breakfast was self service and adequate. What I liked about this hotel was that, although it was not in the centre of Charlestown, it was relatively easy to get in to the centre as Bay Street (which leads down to the historic centre) is just off the bridge into the city - 10 minutes drive. The other bonus was that the helpful staff of the hotel recommended that we ate dinner at one of the many restaurants down on Shem Creek. This was a 5 minute drive away (on the Mount Pleasant side of the bridge). We enjoyed dinner at a waterfront restaurant then took a quick drive around all the beautiful streets looking at the houses near the waterfront. I would definitely recommend this hotel - good position, clean, comfortable, quiet and cheaper than the hotels in the downtown.

« Updated on the outside but not on the inside »

Luckily I paid for this room with my points. If I had to pay $138 for one night I wouldn't have been very happy. The carpets were dirty and weinkled and the bathroom counter barely held a toothbrush it was so small. The breakfast was good. The staff was good. I wanted to stay there for the proximity to Fort Sumter

We have stayed here before never disappoints. Excellent staff, great breakfast. Location is fantastic easy to get on bridge to Charleston. Lady helping with breakfast was so cheery and helpful it was a pleasant change.

    « Good location »

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on trip advisor. The location was perfect, considering it is very close to many of the sites we wanted to see. Extremely close to Patriots Point and only a quick 10 minute ride into historic Charleston. Spent a few days at this hotel. We were given a room on the first floor. They are doing some renovations on the other floors, but we never heard any construction nor did we hear any of our neighbors. We had a double queen room. Rooms were small, but if you aren't spending a lot of time in them, they were more than adequate. There were 2 of us, but if you have more in your group, it could get crowded. Rooms came with a mini fridge, microwave, ironing board, hairdryer. Shampoo products were Pantene. The bathroom had a tub/shower and vanity was inside the bathroom. Water pressure was excellent and water could get extremely hot if you weren't careful (but we never ran out of hot water). Beds were firm and comfortable. Towels were a bit rough, but did the job! Breakfast in the a.m was more than enough and always stocked. You could make your own pancakes or waffles. They also had eggs, breakfast meats and sausage gravy. A nice plus was the yogurt station with lots of toppings to choose from. Always felt safe, as rooms are inside of building. Adequate parking. Took an Uber from the hotel to the City Market and it was about $10 one way. Beats fighting the traffic and dealing with parking. Rooms were clean. They missed cleaning our room on the first morning - - they managed to take our dirty towels, but did not replace them nor did they make the beds or emptied the trash. This was brought to the attention of the front desk & we ran into no other issues. Staff were helpful. Not overly jovial, but we're able to assist when assistance was needed. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend this hotel.

« Amazing staff and location »

The staff really made our trip. This is a great location to explore Charleston and the historical tours around Mt Pleasant. Highly recommend. Breakfast was tasty and there was always cookies and coffee available.

« Location fabulous. watch out for hot water »

Location: GREAT, across from entrance to Patriots Point, down the street to lots of fun, great restaurants by Shem Creek. When we checked in, reception person lackadaisical, almost rude, just didn't seem to want to be there (maybe supposed to go off her shift any moment?). Reception area kinda strange. Supposed to be working on looks of elevator...Room itself was a 3 to 3 1/2, bed very comfortable. Small tub. WATCH OUT FOR EXTREMELY HOT WATER!! Breakfast room and breakfast lady = FAB. Checkout was great. Construction nearby.

« Very nice easy access to Chearston »

Being at Patriots Point made all of the attractions in the Charleston area easy to get to. We used this trip as our annual anniversary trip. We have been to Patriots Point before and new the area was right across the bay from Charleston. We arrived in time to visit the battery and walk around for a little while. When we arrived, the check in was easy. Our room was comfortable and roomy. Could have used some additional seating. There was additional information about the area in the lobby and we were able to plan our day in the city from our room that night. The bed was comfortable and appeared new. Really good pillows. Overall stay was excellent. Good value. Breakfast was standard fare with waffles and in this case a pancake maker. Eggs and sausage and biscuits and gravy. Ali was good. Also had cereal bagels and muffins. I prefer the cooked items. Very satisfying.

Low price was reflected in service and hotel smelled like it was just fumigated. Check in was slow and when coffee machine in room malfunctioned I was met with less than friendly service at the front desk

« Great place to stay! »

This is a great hotel with reasonable rates and a short drive to downtown Charleston. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is wonderful! The lady in charge of breakfast kept everything stocked and greeted people, offering to get them coffee or juice.

« Best Western Patriots Point »

Minthia, the lady who checked us in was a gem. Tammy, the front desk lady the next morning was rude and snobby. Our keys did not work and she argued with us about keeping them close to our phones which we did not do. Franny the breakfast lady was great. Even with the problems, we would recommend this hotel.

Wonderful staff. Both check in breakfast and checkout. Rooms a little small but comfy beds and clean. Breakfast was available for a good amount if time. Up until 10 am which is nice so you don't feel you have motivate early.

    « Great employees! »

I really enjoyed my stay with my boyfriend! It was so nice and everyone was so welcoming! Will stay again! It was our first time as a couple to go out of town so we decided mount Pleasant and I loved how everything was so close to us!

    « Charleston visit »

Very good locations and services. Clean and with a modern look at the entrance. excellent breakfast.Only issue, the room was too humid despite air conditioning on. The small dehumidifier in the room was not enough. Fair room rate of $102 x night including all taxes and fees, stayed 3 nights.

    « Great Experience! »

excellent customer service , clean rooms, great location at a cant beat price . the area around the hotel was safe and there were several eating establishments and grocery stores within walking distance !

« Not what it used to be »

We stayed here a couple of years ago, but unfortunately this BW hasn't maintained. We requested a handicap room and were informed it was on the 3rd floor BUT the elevator wasn't working so we would have to use the stairs....that doesn't even make sense. We then requested a regular room on the 1st floor, and to their credit, one was available...it came with someone else's underwear on the floor next to one of the double beds. YUCK. Wasn't too confident about the cleanliness of the room/bathroom overall. Will not stay here again. On the plus side, location is good and the breakfast was good.

    5
    « Great stay »

One night stay. Hotel staff were awesome. I called since website showed fully booked. Asked them to call if they had a cancellation, they did. Really, really appreciate their help. Definitely will stay here anytime we come back. The lady serving breakfast was great, constantly asking if we were ok and if we needed anything. Again, I can not thank the desk staff for being so helpful!!!

    5
    « Great for Cruisers »

Stayed here the night before a cruise and we left our car for the duration of the cruise. Excellent location, clean and friendly staff! You can take their shuttle that was $10pp each way or taxi/uber/lyft to the port and be there within 10 minutes. We'll be back!

    5
« Good Morning! Good Morning! Good Morning! »

Everyone was very friendly and helpful but Ms. Franny's morning greeting would cheer even a grumpy person. She went out of her way to greet you, serve you and encourage you. She made the stay very enjoyable. I looked forward to her "good morning!" each time I went to breakfast.

« Good Location, Great Price, Wonderful Staff »

My husband and I took a brief, ?mini honeymoon? to Charleston, and we chose to go with a less expensive hotel so we could stay longer and enjoy the city. This Best Western was absolutely perfect, and I will definitely be booking here again in the future. The rooms and lobby were very clean, the staff was kind, funny, respectful, and attentive. We have no complaints, whatsoever.

    4
    « Excellent Customer Service »

From the time we entered the hotel we were greeted with exceptional customer service. Tasha at the front desk was kind and very accommodating. She was attentive to us and gave us needed information about the property and surrounding area. The hotel both looked and smelled clean.

« Another Great Best Western »

Hotel was great, food service superb for what you expect with the free continental breakfast. Beds were a little stiff for our preference, but everything else was superb.Great location, staff gave great recommendations on dining and things to do.

« Out of downtown but a lovely hotel »

This hotel was nice and clean. The room I had was a great size with a great size bathroom. No complaints at all about the room or the hotel. The free breakfast was fantastic - cereals, scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, breads, bagels, pastries, and even different flavored creamers for your coffee.

« Snow Bound in my home town »

During the Blizzard of 2018, my wife and I, were unable to safely climb 2 sets of exterior steps stayed at Best Western Patriots Point. We met Tammy the front desk manager who frequented Jersey Mikes at same time we did. Tammy was very friendly so when the need arrived we went to stay with her. Tammy was snow bound with us for 3 days and along with Henry the Maintenance man, efficiently ran the Hotel. The guests wanted for nothing and she was on top of all our needs. We also want to thank Keith who came in on the 3rd shift so Tammy could get some sleep. Tasha , and Tiffany the Gm ran the desk on the weekend. Support staff we also want to thank are the Breakfast team Donet, and Franny, Debra the Housekeeper. Later today i learned that though corporate business. Best Western Patriots Point ran so well is that Tammy, Tasha and Franny are also family. We recommend the Best Western Patriots Point its awesome staff. For a traveler it is the best place to stay, one right turn from the parking area and a left or right at the first light will easily take any tourist to Down town, The Beaches, or Shem Creek Water front dining and of course Jersey Mikes where we met Tammy whose friendly face and warm smile , made choosing Best Western Patriots point and easy choice for locals unable to climb 2 flights of exterior steps during the storm choose Patriots Point Best Western.

Except during a Blizzard MT Pleasant is a wonderful place is call home. Steps add to the treachery . A chance, Circle K encounter with Manager Tammy Brown led me to contact Patriots Points Best Western. Tammy Brown and Henry Heyward the maintainance man, came to work during the blizzard. For 72 Hours they took care of both guest services and including baking cookies , and houskeeping. Keith the third shift man who lived within walking distance allowed them to sleep for a few hours. We came an met Tammy at the front Desk Tuesday evening at 7 pm, with a smile, it is now Friday Tammy is still smiling , Thank you Tammy, Henry, and Keith for your hard work.

BW Patriots Point is very convenient for getting into and out of Charleston easily and the parking is free. King bed was comfortable and the room was clean and serviceable. The breakfast had many choices but was standard fare. The people at the front desk were especially nice and helpful.

Our stay was very nice. Bed extremely comfortable. I had requested a ground floor room since I was traveling with my elderly mom. The room was directly across from dining room. The noise during breakfast (beginning at 6am) was terribly annoying. I now know not to stay on ground floor. :-) Otherwise, great hotel.

Happy best western customer. We have been coming to Charleston for over 40 years and since we lived close we never spent an overnighter until tues. I love Charleston and will keep coming back. This hotel was easy to get to and centrally located to where I wanted to go.

    « nice room, price & breakfast »

Nice room, breakfast, & stay, but where is the stuff I inadvertently left there? They said they'd call me back about it, but never did. Fortunately it was only a couple nightgowns on the back of the bathroom door and not something more valuable, or I'd be really upset! We enjoyed the breakfast and the super nice lady who covered the dining area (can't remember her name), but she kept coming by every few minutes to greet her dining room guests & make sure they were happy with everything & didn't need anything else!

    5
« Great Rates and Excellent Location »

Although this is an older hotel, it is clean and well maintained. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was good, and there was plenty to go around. The location is excellent, it is near Patriot's Point and the bridge to downtown Charleston. The AAA discounted rate for a 2 queen bed room was $65.00, which is a steal for an interior corridor hotel in this area. They had an outdoor pool, but it was out of season, but it looked well cared for also.

    5
    « Wonderful employees! »

We travel quite often and I can honestly say that the people who work at this hotel are superb. We checked in and had trouble with a Bookings.com reservation and Danet, the lady at the front desk, couldn't have been more accommodating. She was so helpful and kind. Also, Franny, the lady who works the breakfast room, was charming and extremely helpful as well. Actually, we didn't meet any employees who weren't friendly. Best Western Patriots Point is very lucky to have such great people working for them.

    « Great Value »

« No Safety or Comfort »

We pay for basically a few reasons 1) Being safe-This hotels side doors are open for anybody to walk in and rob-mug-rape or what ever crime they want. 2) Comfort.....The beds were so bad we asked to change rooms and did just that. The new room was worst than the first. The smell was unbelievably BAD. These are the basic reasons what we expect when we stay at any Hotel. Safety and Comfort you DO NOT HAVE

« A 'Good' Cup of Coffee Means A Lot »

Having been to a dozen different hotel chains over the last decade, nothing stood out as 'memorable' than a simple 'Good' cup of coffee to start the day. To me, this showed a true interest in the client. And when I said a 'good' cup of coffee, your coffee machine makes freshly brewed 'great' coffee. I had to return for several more cups as its taste 'motivated' me to prepare for the following days' client meetings. I already started recommending this hotel to my clients, and friends.

« Met our Need perfectly »

With a military discount, very affordable. We shared two queen beds for one night with our cruising buddies. Close to Port of Charleston to embark Carnival Ecstasy as well as a lot of site seeing available in Charleston. This motel is aged but unique and well kept. The breakfast offered hot entrees as well as continental type breakfast items. Parking for cruisers is available with shuttle service for a nominal fee.

    « Overpriced and Quirky »

This is one of the least expensive hotels in the area, but at almost $170 I expect more. When we first checked in we were given a room that was an absolute disaster and had not been made up. After dragging all our luggage back downstairs we did get another room that was OK, but a bit worn and with the smell of very old smoke. On top of that, one of the beds had a cover on it that made a lot of noise whenever someone moved - a noise that made most of us cringe. The bathroom is designed very inefficiently as well, with a countertop that extends to the area above the toilet which makes it impossible for the toilet seat to stay up without holding it, and forcing you to lean forward when sitting down. We also had to stop and start the shower multiple times to get hot water. I will say the staff was friendly, but for the kind of money we had to spend, I was deeply disappointed.

This was our first family visit to Charleston. We came from Georgia and Pennsylvania. We loved the location of the hotel as it enabled us to drive across the bridge or use the Water Taxi. We will definitely visit again.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Best Western Patriots Point. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The hotel location is very accessible from various highways. The breakast provided was very good.

« Highly recommend this hotel if you have a car »

I liked the hotel. Very attentive staff, nice and clean room, and full breakfast. I generally stay in hotels like Marriott and Sheraton, and I can tell you that although this hotel may not look as glamorous, service was on par. Reception staff is very attentive and spent their time explaining me how to get to the bus station. Bus stop is about 5 min walk (I would not recommend walk late at night) and Uber is about $10. I think this is perfect for someone who has a car and have enough time to explore Charleston. If you are visiting only 2-3 days without a car, I would recommend staying closer to Charleston, since buses do not come as often. Breakfast includes eggs, waffles, muffins and fruits, and it was well prepared. Breakfast lady made sure that there is enough supply of food and would always ask if guests need anything. I think it is a very good value for the price. Very happy with the hotel.

« Not the nicest but friendly »

The building itself seemed to need some repair and cleaning. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was really good. The lady preparing everything was so nice and nothing was ever not in stock. When arriving the lady at the front desk gave us coupons and a map of downtown Charleston and a list of eating places. Also, if you forget toothpaste, soap, etc. they have it for you at no extra charge.

    5
    « nice location »

Clean inside and out, easy parking, good breakfast and nice rooms. Friendly staff at the desk at check in. If we are in the area again we would consider staying here again. Lived crossing the cool bridge to get there from Charleston.

« Toilet problems and Inconsiderate Staff »

If it hadn't been for a slow toilet that eventually stopped up and when reported we were asked to come down to get the plunger ourselves, instead of sending someone to take care of it or them bringing up to plunger for us, all would have been very acceptable and we would have been pleased.

    « Not a great experience »

Cleanliness poor, maintenance poor, insufficient parking spaces, unfriendly staff . This BW desperately needs a refresh. Location of this hotel is the best feature of the facility. Staff acted very bothered when additional information was requested.

« Great Place for Charleston »

Just across the Ravenel bridge is Mt Pleasant and the Patriots' Point Best Western. Clean hotel and rooms with super-friendly staff. Usual great Best Western breakfasts. Easy access to Hwy 17 for Charleston or the Boone Hall Plantation, Ft Moultrie or the Hunley.

    « Good Value »

Enjoyed our stay. Near Patriot Point & right over the bridge from Charleston. The staff was great and the room was clean & comfortable. Eat at Sticky Fingers-great food. Coffee 24 hours. Loved the cookies!

    « Great Location »

Location, breakfast, and room cleanliness are all a perfect 10! Be sure to set aside a full day to visit the nearby Patriot's Point park, and take the water taxi if you can fit it into your plans. It only goes between the Marina and the Marine Center stops right now due to hurricane damage and construction.

« Our stay at Best Western Patriots Point, SC »

The Hotel was a very clean, the staff was very friendly, and informative. The Hotel offered a shuttle to the port and offered free parking during the length of our cruise. If your looking for a place to park and not pay too much, this is the place. Would recommend to others.

    « Not so good »

We came here for a weekend getaway and to see the beautiful and quaint city of Charleston. As diamond members, we have stayed in many Best Western hotels. I usually give them 4 stars unless they are the more exceptional Best Western Premier inns. Compared to others I've stayed in, this one was very mediocre. The facility itself might look like the other regular Best Western hotels I've stayed in, but there were some problems with this inn that made me dislike it and not want to return to it. 1. When we entered the room, we were nauseated by a bad smell. It was bad enough to make me want to visit the front desk and ask for a different room. I went into another room, but it smelled bad, also, so we kept the room we had. It was a Saturday night, so they had no other rooms. You couldn't open windows, or we would have done so. We feel that if people leave bad smells behind, the housekeeping department needs to be sure that they are gone when the next guest arrives. 2. Cleanliness. The hallways and other public areas appeared to need to be vacuum cleaned. This was in the afternoon and evening. 3. The towels were very rough in texture. The management needs to consider using fabric softener or get new towels that aren't scratchy. These seemed like budget hotel towels. 4. The mattress was very squeaky. I am only 110 pounds, but when sitting or lying on it the mattress was noisy. It seemed like a cheap mattress. At $149 a night plus tax, I can definitely see myself staying elsewhere during my next weekend visit to Charleston.

    4
    « Good Location »

Came in for the weekend prior to my cruise and planned on visiting the area. This hotel location worked best as a central point and easy access. It was close to the USS Yorktown, Ft Sumter ferry, and the cruise port. Would stay here again

    3
« Great Location, but a touch shabby »

A great location to access downtown easily, walk the bridge and enjoy patriot's point. The staff is friendly and helpful. The carpeting needs to be replaced and the rooms are smaller. Too many cigarette smokers hovering around the doors.

    3
« Was Average except for staff »

Average to below average in the room area but front desk staff was above average except the woman responsible for the breakfast area. She was above superior. She was exceptional. Give her a raise, she deserves it. She was wonderful

    « Best Western - never again! »

This is our last morning of a two night stay here. The one star is awarded for the ladies on reception for their help on check in and directing us to a nearby eatery. Two stars have been removed for our room not being made up and a further two stars removed due to the employee responsible telling lies by saying that the "do not disturb" sign was on the outside of our door (room 228). Strangely enough, she was just finishing the room opposite ours when we left around 10.30am (complete with rucksack and handbag) in order to meet our Uber driver. We returned at 8pm to find the room untouched. When I rang reception to complain I received "I'm sorry about that - housekeeping has gone home" and "did we need any fresh towels?". This was followed by a return call about the sign being left on the outside of the door! Furious does not begin to cover this. We are at the end of a 3 week trip to the USA - the first night spent at yet another Best Western where the shuttle bus failed to collect us from a local restaurant as "we were not staying with them". Really? That's not what our bank account says! Will stick with Holiday Inn from now on. Very unhappy.

    « Great Trip »

Good clean hotel. Great rates and very convenient location. Ample parking. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Breakfast was good and Franny was very nice and accommodating. She deserves a special award!

« Not what we expected! »

The outside appearance of the hotel was very appealing. I thought it was going to be a great stay. Other than the breakfast and the front desk attendants, it was a less than acceptable three day stay. House keeping missed our room two out of three days despite being out by 10:00am. The beds were very noisy. We were not use to this from Best Western.

    4
« Price and Location Great »

Great Location for central access to beaches, aircraft carrier, and Charleston. Very clean rooms. They are a little older, but still clean. The staff was very helpful to help us find a restaurant for the evening and even gave us a coupon for an appetizer. Breakfast did have some good choices and the coffee was good. Recommend for location and price!

    4
« Great Location - Quiet and Clean »

We just returned from our stay here and we were very pleased. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, from the front desk to the housekeepers. The lady who worked the breakfast area was always available and asking if anything was needed. The property is older, but very well maintained and spotlessly clean. It's also quiet even though it's close to the main thoroughfare. We will definitely stay here again.

    3
    « Overwhelming room deodorizer »

Friends staff checked us in right away but we had to get another room because the electronic key wouldn't open the door. The room had an overbearing Fabreze or whatever to cover up the mildew, bug spray, smoke - whatever. Had the air conditioner on full with the vent open to try and help neutralize the odor. After dinner when we returned to the hotel, we discovered the carpet was wet in a few areas. Wet from what? Never mind, don't want to know. Won't be staying here again.

    5
« Convenient and Friendly Place »

Location of this property is excellent - within easy walking distance to Patriots Point and only a short water taxi ride from there to downtown Charleston. The friendly staff made it so much more enjoyable as they were willing to take the time to give us great tips and pointers to local shops and attractions. The breakfast was complete and even included an automated pancake maker which I had never seen before, and of course the staff, again, was very friendly and helpful. It is so refreshing in these times to find people who are really enjoying their work, and I truly believe that these folks do!

    « Location, location... location! »

Sayed here for three days 10/10 - 10/13. Tammy the front desk manager was very welcoming and accommodated an early check in. Room comfortable and clean. Great hot water pressure. Weather was a warm 85 degrees for October and we went to utilize the pool. Water clean however leaves were not swept away 2 of the 3 days we utilized. This made it look dirty and cluttered. Breakfast was adequate and constantly refilled. The morning ladies were always asking if we needed anything. Attitude of staff was outstanding. Great recommendations for dinner in Shems Creek area, Would definitely return due to easy access to Isle of Palm, Sullivan Island and Charleston. The Revenel Bridge is too cool.

« Will come back when I visit this area again! »

Everyone was so wonderful. The women taking care of the breakfast is OUTSTANDING and exceeded my expectations!!!. Great choice of food for breakfast. Front desk was also always pleasant and saying hello and goodbye!! Check in was so Fast!. Room was clean and had all we needed for our 3 night trip. Only comment - on our 2nd day we were out of our room from 8:30 am to 1:30 PM and the rooms was not cleaned. The person asked us to please leave soon as she needed to have the room completed by 2pm On the 3rd day of our visit the room was 'started' to be cleaned---garbage cans were emptied but nothing else done. The front desk was great in responding to our comment. I am leaving it to that is was busy weekend and staff got confused.

    « Very disappointed »

Between changing rooms and mold I am sure we will be very cautious of staying at a BW again. There was a mold smell that would almost take your breath and the floor was wet in room 320. Then they moved us to 328. Room still had a mold smell just not as strong. When we were leaving we noticed blood and lots of mold on the bed skirt. It was horrible experience thinking we were sleeping in a mold infested room and could possibly be the reason my husband is sick.

« Great continental breakfast, friendly staff! »

My wife and I really enjoyed the hot breakfast and cookies in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff greeted us upon entering and exiting and was great with answering questions. If cookies were not in the lobby, the staff baked some upon request. We redeemed reward points from a credit card for several of the days on our stay so we only paid for 3 or so days. This hotel was above our typical price range, but we saw the value of the amenities after being there a few days. Best Western also offers a loyalty program similar to a Kroger's card so we signed up for that. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will likely stay at another Best Western when a deal presents itself!

    4
    « Nice property »

We really enjoyed the breakfast and the lady who looked after us. The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful too. The aquarium was beautiful and Melvin the puffer fish stole the show. We will be back to see Melvin! Negatives: The AC unit was too noisy and kept us up at night and the pool needed to be cleaned.

    « My Wedding Weekend »

Overall we had a great experience at this Best Western. We stayed here for 4 nights and we got married on that Saturday. The hotel staff was very nice and inquired about our wedding and how everything went. We even brought them some food that was left over from the wedding because they made us feel at home. The only complaint is that our room had a slight odor to it and our entrance door kept getting stuck and was hard to open.

    4
« Nice hotel close to many activities »

This was a nice hotel in a good location close to the many activities at Patriots Point. We went on a dinner cruise leaving from Patriots Point so the location was perfect. Breakfast was available in the morning, so it was a good place to stay in the area.

    4
    « Place to stay »

We chose the BW PP purely on price, however we were pleasantly surprised by the overall set up of the place. At the time the downtown Charleston hotels were going for $100-$150 a night more than this one. You are about a $8-$12 Uber ride from downtown but you can get a lot of travel for $100-$150 a night. The rooms were well appointed, may be a little cramped but that was ok for us as we spent most of our time out. Beds were comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was included and was very good. The lady who looked after the breakfast bar was incredible. Nothing you could ask for was too much trouble. We really felt very well looked after. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Should add that the TripAdvisor site suggests the have an airport shuttle - they do not.

    « Cousin Bucket List »

My cousin and I stayed at Patriots Point Best Western on October 2,2017. We made reservations through the Charleston Visitor Center with a discount! After a full day of sightseeing, we checked in late. The staff was extremely pleasant and competent. We arrived in our room that was clean and comfortable. After a good nights sleep we headed down for breakfast, which was very good. I will return to this hotel again.

Overall is great, breakfast is good because there are multiple choices to eat, and this girl Minthia was so friendly and helpful. Definitely, if I go to Charleston again, this hotel will be my choice.

    « Charleston Vacation »

Hotel was very comfortable, having all the amenities we needed. The staff was friendly, very efficient, and helpful - often anticipating our needs. The breakfast was very good and the lady running it was a gem, very concerned everyone had what they needed. The pool and pool area were very nice and enjoyable. Hotel was very close to attractions. Would recommend it to anyone!

    « A Poor Night »

The first room that we were put in smelled really bad. The receptionist was very responsive and had us moved to another room. After moving we discovered that there was blood on the bathroom floor, but at that point, we just wanted to get to dinner and return for a nights sleep due to a scheduled surgery early the next morning so we ignored the blood and just covered it up. The bed was so soft that it was difficult to get a good nights sleep.

    « Beyond Expectations »

    « Lukewarm Water »

Check in and out was quick and easy. Our room, 212, had an interior entry and was spacious and clean. The window had a built in seat. The room came with a small fridge and micro. Wifi was complimentary. Even though the room faced the street, we didn't hear any noise. The bad points about the room: the toilet paper holder was at an odd angle to the toilet, so reaching it was difficult and the "hot" water was lukewarm at best. Parking is free and plentiful. We didn't eat the breakfast offered, but I'm sure it was the typical hotel fare of fake eggs, sausage or bacon and biscuits and gravy, none of which appealed to me. The hotel is easy to get to but quite a distance from the popular attractions Charleston has to offer.

    1
    « Awful »

We arrived after a full day of travel at midnight and the room they assigned us had unmade beds. We did get a new room but it smelled dirty and musty. The light bulb was out at the bedside table, tv remote didn't work until the battery was replaced, the bed squeaked terribly, just getting in and out of bed, staff did not replenish coffee, shampoo and note pad unless asked. We stayed 5 nights and they never changed our sheets, and the carpet was dirty and sticky. Please don't stay here, this place is awful. The pictures show how we found our bathroom after the cleaning staff had finished their work. The towels thrown on the shelf and the shampoo just tossed on the counter. This speaks volumes.

    3
« Ok but some way out of the centre »

Staff were reasonably helpful. Room smelled strongly of damp but a/c sorted that. Good parking and close to highway but a 15-20 minute ride from the French Quarter. Did not eat breakfast here as far better options downtown

    3
    « Comfortable accommodations »

The hotel has comfortable beds, a mini fridge and microwave for convenience, and all the basic amenities that would be expected. The pool is a welcome addition in the hot, humid South Carolina weather. The only drawback was that while the air conditioning was sufficient to keep the room cool, it wasn't quite up to the task of keeping the humidity from making everything feel slightly damp all the time. It wasn't bad enough to be a major drawback, though. The staff was friendly and helpful.

    « VERY THANKFUL »

My daughter, four year-old granddaughter and I stayed at the Best Western in Mount Pleasant, SC after evacuating Florida Saturday from Hurricane Irma. We stayed three nights and headed home Tuesday. Everyone was extremely friendly and caring. Thank you to Minthia who my granddaughter took a special liking to and even colored more pictures for her on our drive home!

« Good hotel and room for the moeny »

Was clean and neat not a lot of frills but staff was helpful and courteous and room was clean and neat, breakfast was efficient and suitable. Parking was free and plentiful was a great place to lay your head and get a restful nights sleep

    « Enjoyed our stay »

The hotel is clean with a friendly staff. Good breakfast with a lot of choices, good wifi. Convenient location to Charleston and the beaches. The rates were very reasonable! Our housekeeper did a great job of daily cleaning. The lady who took care of the breakfast area was very sweet and friendly! The queen size beds are more like full size, but we managed. The bathroom needed a few minor repairs, but nothing major. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the issues in the bathroom (toilet running constantly and taped up outlet, and the smallish beds that were a little hard). Overall though, our stay was pleasant. This is not a luxury hotel, but that's not what we were looking for, as we were only in our room to sleep! We will definitely stay again if we are in the area!

    4
    « Just ok »

We stayed at this hotel for several days. The room was fine, the breakfast ok. We were a bit disappointed in the front desk staff. When we first got there, we were asking for good places to go for dinner. The people at the desk both said they don't really go out to eat much, so they didn't know. We then asked about how to get the the water taxi, and they said they've never taken it - but they believe we drive down such and such road to find it. They made it clear that they go to work, and home, and don't really go anywhere else.Being in the hospitality industry, they really should know more about their area. On top of that, we often couldn't find them at all when we had a question. The desk was often unattended. We also were disappointed in housekeeping. We had run out of kleenex, and I was sick at the time. When the kleenex wasn't replaced, we left a note for the housekeepers the next day. We needed an extra towel, and kleenex, Even with the note, our kleenex was never filled.

    « Shocked! »

Unfortunately, the only good things about our recent stay was the fish tank in the front and the sweet receptionist. The mold smell in two of the rooms they tried to put us in was so overwhelming it would have made a spore sick. By the third room, the smell was better, but we were right across from the eating space , so we endured doors slamming all night and then everyone eating breakfast in the morning. The room looked clean, but the carpet has seen better days. I was shocked and disappointed that I paid for a night here!

« Great location- great staff- nice hotel »

I stayed here for the solar eclipse and expected it to be crazy. Boy was I wrong. The staff was so well organized- it felt as it were any other night. They were so pleasant on arrival and did a great job of managing guests while the housekeeping staff worked as hard as they good to get rooms ready. Coffee was available and everyone was quite chatty. Once in my room, I was pleasantly surprised. In particular, I loved the window seat to look out and read. The room was very clean and the linens new. Some have complained about mustiness but I didn't get that. Perhaps I am less sensitive to it. Breakfast was very well stocked, even with the high volume of people moving through at around the same time. As for the location, it is a bit out of the way from the historic part of Charleston, but it is close to Patriot's Point and my Uber cost only $6 to get to historic Charleston. I would definitely recommend this hotel as long as you are ok taking cabs or uber to other locations (which is really true of anywhere you might stay in Charleston).

« Beautiful and great location »

We really found this to be a great location for sightseeing. Only 4 min drive from USS Yorktown and Fort Sumpter, and 12 minute drive to the french quarter. We found our room to be very clean and modern. However, I did find the mattress to be a bit hard for my taste (but not 'board' hard). The pool is outdoors and in August the pool temp was about 90 degrees warm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good with scrambled eggs sausage, briskets and gravy. Yogurt with toppings and make your own waffles that come in different shape/sizes so it does not have to be as big as your plate and many types of syrup. They even put out fresh baked cookies in the evening. If we return, this will be the first place We look at.

    2
    « Disappointing »

The hotel is situated rather far from Charleston. The rooms was o.k. But staff at reception was not very friendly or customer oriented. No restaurants in the neighbourhood of the hotel, you have to cross the bridge to find them. Free parking.

    « Stay away! Please! »

I wouldn't even go near this place! I hate writing reviews and complaining...but I honestly don't want people to stay here. Had to give it 1 star to do the review, but it doesn't deserve 1 star. The room was disgusting. Awful smell of laqur from the doors that must have been painted recently and a musty, moldy smell. The carpet was so disgusting that we never took our socks or shoes off and changed socks once we got in bed. The vent in the bathroom was covered in dust so bad that we didn't even use it. And don't get us started on the rude staff. If this wasn't a business trip we would've canceled the room and high tailed it out of there. But there weren't any other hotels available in the area due to the summer season and it was the weekend. We even bought pillows, blankets and towels....it was that bad. Stay away!

    « Great location »

The Hotel had a great location for visiting Charelston. It was very convenient and had a few places to eat close by as well as a walgreens not to far. Franny the breakfast lady is worth the stay in itself, such a kind hearted and happy woman! They have a nice outdoor pool, it is small and they would benefit by adding a rack of towels out there and having a bathroom close by, you have to walk down a hall through the lobby to get to one. Our room was ok, clean enough, it could use a little freshening up, the pad on the window seat is in need of replacement.

    « Affordable »

I stayed here with a friend the first weekend in June for a swim race at Patriot's Point. It was very convenient to Patriot's Point and well priced for the area. We were also able to Uber down town for under $10. The hotel was a bit old, but our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was quiet good. I would stay again.

The location was excellent for visiting Charleston. The room was nice with the exception of the dirty carpeting. Want to give a mention to the two women who were at the front desk when we checked in on Thursday afternoon. Sorry we didn't remember their names, but they were very helpful and provided some good advice for our trip into Charleston.

    « Will Stay Again. »

This was a great choice for our trip to Charleston, SC. This motel is located just right over the bridge from Charleston. Easy access in and out. The rooms were a little small but clean and nice. The free breakfast was good and the lady that made sure everything was prepared for the breakfast was as nice and efficient as they come. The pool was nice and the grounds very well kept. The price was good. No complaints about our stay at all. We will be back.

this was a nice hotel, very helpful staff. Pool was clean and practically empty on the days we used it! Breakfast was a good selection for continental breakfast, including hot waffles or pancakes, scrambled eggs, gravy, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc.

Tactical location to visit Charleston, great location, quiet area. Rooms clean and with all the necessary comforts. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast proposal is poor. It is worth staying at. Quality - price more than honest.

    « Great experience! »

Wanted to give the staff at Mount Pleasant three cheers for a wonderful stay. Tammy,Michelle,Natasha,GeGe,Tasha, and Keith went out of their way to make our trip great. They always had good ideas on places to eat and see. A welcome smile and hello made our days bright. Like having a extended family in South Carolina. Our mornings started off with a warm welcome from Miss Franny. Always a good morning and anything you need ill get it for you attitude. The managers and staff did a great job and would love to visit again soon

    « My Hotel Stay »

My room had an old smell but Natasha at the front desk made sure we were taken care of to make our stay as comfortable as possible. If i had to stay in that area again, Best Western would be the place.

Very friendly staff ....clean rooms. Franny was super sweet and very attentive. We were offered express check out which was awesome and made it much easier since We had small children. We were close to every thing.

« Great Location and CLEAN »

The welcome in the lobby was very nice! The front desk staff was super friendly. The "new" feel was so appreciated with the decor being so nicely done! The room was very clean and the detail of specialty folded towels made it feel like a luxury place! The morning "real" breakfast was great - no grab and go menu here! The lady who was the "cook" was very attentive and to have a hot breakfast of eggs, meat, and potatoes such an upgrade! There was very much something for everyone and she genuinely cared about serving the guests! Highly recommend this as a place to stay!!!

    « Great location & Comfortable »

We stayed for 3 nights at Best Western Patriot Point. It was a very convenient place for us to stay to go into Charleston everyday. The room had a really comfortable bed and the AC worked great. We would go back again if we revisit the area.

    « Best staff ever!! »

This is by far the best staff I have ever encountered in a hotel! They were absolutely wonderful during a very urgent situation on the morning of 7/6. I am extremely blessed and so very thankful for the 3 ladies that went above & beyond in the situation! Because of this, they will definitely be receiving all of our future business!!

    « Getaway »

A nice stay for a 9 year old, her grandma and great grandma. We had hoped to see the fireworks from Hotel ,but were too tired by then anyway. There were some nice surprises though, like on the 3rd of July, when someone came to the pool area and said...ice cream in the lobby .

    « Two Day Trip »

Nice clean location. How ever a lot of little things need to be repaired; ie, strap on inside of refrigerator. A/C was undersized for the room. However, the lady who served the food was very kind and made sure guest needs were met

« Great Little Home Away from Home! »

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at BW Patriots Point. Cross the bridge from Charleston and we were there and near all the attractions we wanted to see such as the Yorktown, Sullivan's Island, and just a short little drive back to downtown and the pier. The room was nice and clean and the breakfast was very good. I have to really compliment the lady (can't remember her name) who took such good care of us at breakfast making sure we had everything we needed. Great job to all!!

« Affordable, clean, good location, good breakfast, poor housekeeping crew »

Stayed four nights with my family leading up to the 4th. What you would expect for a Best Western. Clean, affordable, great location, good breakfast, decent swimming pool. On the negative side: terrible housekeeping service and slow Wi-Fi. Our room wasn't made up, trash cans emptied, towels replenished on two days until nearly 5pm and that wasn't until I went to the desk and notified staff. This hotel has a lot of potential with the right management but current staff is holding it back.

    3
    « Personal Observations »

Great staff, cheerful, courteous, helpful, good location with easy access to Charleston. Cleanliness was the only negative during this particular stay. Rooms/hallways could have been vacuumed better. Bathrooms could have been cleaner.

    2
« Best to check in at night and leave at night. »

What a location this property is located at. Too bad it needs to advance itself to keep up with the beautiful city in which it lies within. The inability to escape the smell of mold in the room was unbearable at times. The staff's brass attitude when receiving a request for clean towels is one aspect that this loyal Best Western consumer will not overlook.

    2
    « Smelly Rooms »

The staff at this hotel are amazing! They were kind and helpful. They are truly the bright spot! However, the rooms are humid and musty. We had to switch rooms three times until we found one that didn't smell bad. However, once the air conditioning got going the smell came back in our room. They had dehumidifiers in each room, but they were small and couldn't keep up. We thought about switching hotels mid-stay but everything was booked. Choose a different hotel.

    « GREAT STAY »

Outside/Inside of hotel very clean. Newly furbished rooms, Very comfortable stay, (a little small but nice) Internet, Continental Breakfast, more ammendities available, that we did not use. Overall customer service better than the 5 star hotel we stayed at. Convenient access to many Charleston attractions. Would recommend RB's and Rivers Edge restaurants at Shem Creek.

    « Depressing »

Stayed May 29th and May 30th, 2017. Front desk clerk was extremely rude when we arrived. Room was very small, dark, and depressing (almost like a closet). Did not meet Best Western standards. Would NOT recommend this hotel.

« Best price and great service »

This hotel was the best priced in the area and walking distance from Patriots Point Naval Museum. It has a beautiful lobby, comfortable beds and a full breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff was outstanding.

« Clean, safe, and staff was so friendly. »

I was blown away when I got to the hotel. We have stayed in 4 star hotels before so I thought this hotel may not be as clean or in a safe area. I was wrong....clean, friendly and affordable. American Operated apparently. I will use this hotel again when we return to Mt. Pleasant. The hotel was so convenient to the Isle of Palms, Charleston and of course Patriots Point.

Dirty rooms that smelled bad. Gross food. Dirty beds and extremely over priced for what you have to deal with by sleeping there. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone if you would like a nice place to stay

« Weekend in Mt. Pleasant »

We come to Mt. Pleasant often and I am still trying to adjust to the constant increase in hotel pricing so we often shop for best price and have stayed at multiple hotels in the area. This weekend we booked the Best Western again after 4 years. I rarely complain about hotels and feel that you generally "get what you pay for" but with the price of hotels here you would think there would be a "step up" in the accommodations. I had forgotten how small the rooms were. We had an ongoing issue with the shower handle not working. After the second attempt at a repair it worked "okay" . I don't know why the shower curtains do not fit so the floor was soaked. We could never figure out how to avoid that- which meant wet floor and towels. The pool is small and the breakfast area can feel "crowded". I hate writing a negative review but again, because of weekend pricing, these are things that should be considered with the options in the area. On the plus side the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the hotel is quiet and the location IS great.

    « Harley Riders Beware »

This is actually a beautiful property, looks almost brand new, and has some lovely murals painted inside by all the elevators. The location is very convenient to lots of dining and attractions. Our problem with the property was the staff. We ride bikes, and always stay at Best Westerns when we travel as they have a great loyalty program for Harley members. We've traveled from coast to coast with groups ranging from 4-16 riders, and never had any issues until we tried to check into this hotel. Our group of 6 - 3 couples - arrived to check in, only to be told that there was only 1 reservation, and not 3. We tried to explain that one member of the group had made the reservation for 3 rooms, but each couple would be paying individually. The clerk at the desk, Linda (not sure if that is her real name), vigorously argued with us that it was not possible for one person to reserve 3 rooms, and basically accused of all of lying about reservation! Why she continued to argue about this with us instead of just letting us know that there were plenty of rooms available and would we like to go ahead and check in, i have no idea. And after all of the back and forth, "Linda" would not honor the Harley discount rate, and advised us that we needed to call the loyalty program number and make a new reservation if we wanted that price! All the time telling us that she "didn't have an attitude" and that she was a "customer service manager" and knew how to deal with people. I guess she and I have a drastic difference of opinion on what customer service actually means. I had asked to speak with the manager during this exchange and was told that there was no manager on site, though there was a plaque directly behind Linda's head stating "Manager On Site xxxxxx". The following morning when i went to check out, the person we had been told was the "acting manager" happened to be working the desk. I expressed my displeasure at what Linda had told us and how we had all been treated, and at least this lady did the right thing and looked into the matter. As it turns out, it was a simple mistake, that the acting manager herself had taken the reservation and put it in for only 1 room, not 3. She immediately offered to credit all of our bills to correct for the non-Harley program rate, and apologized for the confusion. It was such an easy to fix and all that we had wanted in the first place. We weren't looking to point a finger at someone making a mistake. If Linda had simply said that she only saw the 1 reservation but they'd be happy to check us all in and at the same rate there would have been no need for a 20 minute argument at the end of a long and tiring day. Sometimes a tiny bit of customer service can go a long way. Since we did get things worked out I was hesitant to post such a low review, but the ugly attitude of Linda dropped the review of an otherwise lovely property. And I think our fellow Harley riders need to be aware that they could face a similar attitude upon check in if she's working the front desk. Next time we'll be staying somewhere else.

    « Good stay »

While visiting the Charleston area we stayed at Mt Pleasant at the Best Western. The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our visit. Motel served a very good breakfast and baked cookies in the early evening for guests. ALthough it is an older motel Rooms were clean and had been renovated.

Very good value for the money. The staff is always friendly and helpful. All areas of the hotel are clean. It's centrally located between the beach and downtown Charleston. The parking lot is shaded, which is nice on hot days.

We have stayed in many Best Western 's on this 2 week trip all of the time this year. The front desk staff is more than cordial and helpful at all times. The room was mold ridden and uncomfortable. The location is great. local site seeing very accessible. The breakfast buffet was generally good. I cannot say anything good about this place and will NOT return!

    2
« Below expectations room. Great staff! »

This hotel is in a good location. The staff there couldn't have been nicer! They all went out of their way to assist in anyway. The room was below average. Floors were dirty and found dirty clothing behind the bathroom door. Lighting and shower not working properly.

« Check-in attendant could care less; room way too small »

All I can say is, after staying at two other Best Westerns along the way on our recent trip of the Southeast, this was by far the worst of the three. We had an extremely disappointing check-in. Our attendant had three small children in the lobby making noise and taking ALL of our attendant's attention. She mumbled everything she said, almost never looked at us in the eyes, and really seemed like she could care less about her job. I know these kinds of things are hit and miss, but we also found the room overpriced and very very small. We skipped breakfast to get on out of here. Hope you fare better.

« Feeling at home here »

We booked this hotel based on great reviews, price and convenient location to Charleston just across the bridge. Our grown family of four is shared a two doubles room for two nights pre-cruise. The room is "cozy" on the small side but features a window seat giving us extra space. This hotel is very clean. The breakfast area is roomy and Franny greets everyone who enters and keeps the food well stocked. The best thing about this hotel is everyone is super friendly and genuine in seeking to make everyone's stay the best possible. The outdoor pool was small but clean and great for a cool down. There are a couple of lounge chairs and a few umbrella tables, which made for some nice relaxation after a long day of sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again!

    5
    « A nice stay »

Hey, its a Best Western so you know it has to meet some standards. This property is in a good location just across the bridge from Charleston and saves a few bucks. Everything was clean, the breakfast is up to par. There are a couple of restaurants nearby. I'd stay here again and have dinner at Sticky Fingers up the street.

« Jimmy Buffett Concert Trip »

The staff was pleasant (kudos to the breakfast lady!). This was a great location for the event we attended and great rate as we were away most of the time and only needed sleep. The hotel room (2 beds) was not large but adequate: not much room to move around. The pool was nice and quiet (no main road noise). The hotel was clean and safe.

« Best location for Charleston and Patriots Point »

Good Food, Good Room, Good Location, Good Locale, Good Staff, Good Parking , I hate when computers tell me what to do and send me a message that I messed up when I really did it intentionally. So this is what I want to say to computers out there listening to me:

« Just over the Bridge »

This is a nice area not too far from Charleston historic points. The rate ifs very reasonable and the property is as comfortable as places where we have paid twice as much. If crossing the bridge from Charleston be prepared for about the 1st left turn,

The only downside to the visit was the spotty internet service. I was told it is being replaced and once it is, it would be a perfect place to stay. Nice room, good size. Staff very pleasant. I'd certainly stay here again.

    « Lots of ++++ »

The Patriots BW is really an excellent choice for visiting the Charleston area. Okay the place is not new and is a little dated but who stays in their room all day in Charleston? The staff is a pleasant and accommodating as you can get find. The front desk and breakfast area are staffed by super people. Here is what you need to know: 1. Location is prime- easy on and off for all directions. Ok you are not downtown but that is ten minutes away. Area has easy shopping for whatever you left behind(Whole Foods is 2 minutes away). Super access for day trips to Isles of Palms, Sullivan island or Boone Plantation. Lots of area restaurants that are very good 2. Price is right- Why pay $300 a day downtown? 3. Clean and confortable 4. Breakfast is very good. 5. Beds are comfy and rooms are quiet 6. There is a small pool but who goes there when you have a beach 20 minutes away. No problem going back or using BW agaun

« This is The hotel choice for you.. Clean and Friendly! »

My family decided to stay the night before our cruise. The check-in lady was so helpful and knowledgeable about the property. We were to meet my family and I was nervous they would not be able to get checked-in, if we were out to dinner. This amazing lady said, just give me their names and I will take care of them when they arrived. When we returned to the hotel after dinner, she said your family is here and all taken care of. She has no idea how much that meant to me!! Staff gets 10 STARS, right down to the breakfast lady who was so helpful. Rooms: rooms were clean and big. We had two rooms with kings beds and one with double. Breakfast: It is well kept and lots of options. The sweet breakfast lady kept asking do you need anything and restocking as the crowds kept coming in. If your cruising ask about their park and cruise package... they also partner withPeninsula transportation. This was a surprise to us and it is well worth the cost. We were able to get one cruise ship early and off early. Well worth it and the fee is like $10 a person. No lines and no waits.

« Good Budget Hotel With A Great Location »

I always enjoy staying at Best Western, and this visit was no exception. The hotel itself is in an excellent location, just across the Ravenal Bridge from downtown Charleston, at a fraction of the price of hotels in downtown. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and quickly switched our room due to an issue with the air conditioner. And the breakfast cook was always wishing everyone good morning and asking if there was anything they needed. Breakfast options include coffee, juice, fresh fruit, hot/cold cereals, pastries, eggs, meat, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and (of course) WAFFLES! Two waffle irons, one with a big waffle, one with four smaller waffles...perfect for sharing! And there's a little "happy station" with various syrups, nuts, raisins/craisins, chocolate chips, granola, etc. so you can "dress" your waffles any way you like. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and offered us a good night's sleep. Complimentary wi-fi was fast and had a strong signal. The elevator may be slow, but it allows you time to enjoy and appreciate the murals surrounding the elevator doors, which were lovely and a nice touch.

    « Sub-Standard »

Stayed for 1 night. Room was filthy with garbage under the bed, stained rug and cheap, inferior bedding. Shower drain was so slow that I was standing in calf-deep waste water. The breakfast quality and quantity was poor. Staff was friendly enough just not trained properly. Overall a terrible experience. I would suggest that Best Western yank the franchise on this hotel.

    « Comfortable and clean »

My friend and I had a Airbnb booked that turned out to be terrible so we cancelled and were stuck without a place to stay in Charleston. We found this place and it wasn't far from downtown. The staff was so incredibly nice and helpful..and so fun! The girl at front desk found us a room after she thought they were booked so that was great. Everyone we met who worked in this motel was absolutely adorable! Monique I think was her name at the desk, even helped us set up an Uber account and told us places to visit downtown. We were tempted to just stay in the motel and hangout with them but we were there to see Charleston so we took her advice and had an absolute best evening. The room was a perfect size and beds were extremely comfortable. The hot breakfast the next morning was great too. I loved how the lady cooking came in and shouted good morning to everyone in the room. All the amenities you could ever need, nice TV and the pool area looked great too. Definitely would stay here again if ever in the area

« It has gotten even better! »

In 2008 and 2009, my husband and I stayed at this hotel while visiting his mother at a nursing home nearby. While visiting Mount Pleasant with a friend this last weekend, I decided to stay here again since we enjoyed it before. If anything, I have to say it has gotten even better! This is a good, basic, hard-working hotel with a terrific, dedicated staff. While things could use some refreshment, it doesn't creep you out at all. In fact, you feel like you're staying in the spare room at Aunt Martha's -- you know, the aunt who just doesn't see the dirt in the back of the room any longer but is so welcoming you're always happy to stay with her. We had the room behind the elevators (which we NEVER heard) which is probably the coolest room on the floor. It is huge, with two windows and therefore two comfy window seats. The two beds are on the wall farthest from the door and there's a sleeper sofa along the wall. The TV is on the far far far side of the room which is a bit funny but we could see it fine from the bed. The bathroom is large and semi-handicapped (tub but with a sink you can roll up to and a toilet with large handrail). While the beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows, the duvet cover on one had a 5" tear and someone had a very hard time putting on the wrinkled dust ruffles so they were both very crooked. We had plenty of towels but the shower knob was difficult to use; it felt loose but once you got the hang of it, it worked okay. On each floor the wall around the elevator is painted with a mural of a Charleston attraction (like the bridge at Magnolia Plantation), very charming! And a vine and lacy thing has been painted around the windows at the ends of the halls. These are the things we enjoy about Best Westerns! The breakfast is standard fare -- scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage, bread for toast, bagels, sweet rolls, cold cereals, instant oatmeal and grits, juices, whole fruits and fruit cups, yogurt, etc., etc. All kept filled and cleaned up by the friendliest voices you will hear any morning of your life! The staff really makes this hotel. Friendly, interested, helpful, really great!

    « Understaffed,poor housekeeping & management »

Housekeeping was inconsistent & didn't clean room at all on one day. Staff was so short (just front Desk clerk) I had to obtain towels, bedding, shampoo, toilet paper. Manager did not communicate directly & only reimbursed 10% for one night which I have yet to see. Property felt unsafe & noisy.

« Convenient location but tired hotel »

This hotel is in a convenient good location. The decor and furnishings are out dated and carpeting looks dirty and needs replacing. Bedding quality needs improvement. Room with 2 queen beds was very small. Internet connection was extremely slow and kept dropping out. Liked that room window opens.

    2
    « Dirty Carpet »

We've been staying here for several years and the quality is sliding off. We checked into our first room none of the lights worked, our second room had dirty carpet, smelled like someone had been smoking in it, and the commode was running when we walked in and most times we flushed it we had to go back and jiggle the handle.

    5
    « Clean & Convenient »

I really liked staying at this hotel, it was conveniently located about 6 miles from downtown. I used Uber the whole time so the distance was of no matter. The staff were so nice and helpful. When I go back to Charleston, I will stay at this hotel.

    « Mt.Pleasant-Patriots Point »

The hotel has had a makeover-but mostly lipstick and rouge. Plumbing issues are a problem and the thermostat is tightly regulated. Vending machines are sparse and only on 2 floors-finding bottled water is difficult. The room did have a small refrigerator. We requested adjoining rooms-and from the discussion between the front desk employees thought it was a done deal. Got to the rooms and they were across the hall from one another-evidently some confusion about adjoining and across??? Employees did not present the most professional appearance-and were not helpful when I commented on the vending machine being out of some choices. For the price the overall experience was subpar.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Great hotel for the price. The room was large and comfortable with good wifi, and tv reception. The bathroom was very large and had great hot water and water pressure. The complimentary breakfast was very nice - I though there was a good selection and there was plenty of seating the the dining area. What I really loved was the 24 hour coffee and fresh cookies. We checked in about 7pm and they'd just made a fresh batch of cookies which after a long drive was really appreciated. Overall great value.

« A very good hotel in Mount Pleasant SC »

We stayed here for four nights in November and were very pleased with the hotel, rooms, service, breakfast, etc. This is an older indoor corridor hotel that has been completely remodeled in a wooded setting a block off of the main highway, 17, that goes through Mount Pleasant. It is within three blocks of the main bridge linking Mount Pleasant and Charleston. The room rate was very reasonable.....less than half the of similar rooms across the bridge in the peninsula, historic, area of Charleston and only about a 10 minute drive away. We noticed that cruise travelers use the hotel and its parking options. We were very pleased that we were provided breakfast prior to the 6 a.m. opening of the breakfast room on the day of our early morning departure by air.

    5
« Great location and wonderful staff »

Group of 6 spending a few nights in Charleston area before we leave for a cruise. We booked 3 rooms. The location is an older hotel but it is clean and well kept. I suspect the age of the location is why it is so much cheaper than surrounding hotels. I was just looking for a place to stay that way as clean and safe. The staff here is incredible and we took advantage of the parking during our cruise. I would certainly stay here again.

It was a very easy 6-mile drive to the Gaillard Center, and downtown hotels were much more expensive than the Best Western, so this worked out perfectly. It's also very close to Patriots Point. We went back to downtown the next day to explore the city & Fort Sumter, which you can get to from downtown or Patriots Point. This hotel was the perfect central location for whatever you want to do around this beautiful, historic city. The hotel was safe, clean, & comfortable. And they provided a good hot breakfast. Wifi wasn't very strong, but it worked. My friends stayed an extra night at the hotel, and the staff were very nice to let me hang out in their room until it was time for me to leave town.

    « Trip to Charleston »

This was a bucket list vacation to visit Charleston and decided to stay in Mount Pleasant. Beautiful hotel - very clean - maintenance was constantly cleaning! Desk clerks were exceptionally helpful. There was work going on in the area driving piles but by the time they started we were already up & it didn't bother us at all. Breakfast was good - and the value was exceptional!

« A perfect place to stay the night before a cruise out of Port Charleston »

While searching for lodging the night before our voyage to Bermuda, we found Patriots Point Best Western to be the best choice. The accommodations are first class and a satisfying breakfast is available to send the cruiser well fed and strengthened to face the rigors of boarding the vessel. Not only are the staff most hospitable, but Patriots Point allows a cruiser to leave his vehicle in their parking lot free of charge for the duration of voyage.

    « Very nice »

We stayed one night after a cruise. Since we got off the ship early I was going to cancel and head home but this hotel needs 24 hour notice or you pay a charge. Normally cancelling by 6 p.m. is permitted. Anyway happy we stayed here nice large room, clean. Nice breakfast selection as well. We like the area as it is much less expensive than Charleston but easy to get to.

    « Horrible »

We were on our honeymoon and we cut our honeymoon short by 2 days because of this hotel!!! 1. There was a hotel being built next door and the pile drivers shook the hotel every moring at 730..that woke is up, even though we didnt want to get up that early 2. The horrible smell in our room, they sprayed but didnt work 3. The beds were smaller then a normal bed, the worst bed i have ever slept on, I think a rock would of been better. We didn't sleep for a week and woke up every morning in pain!!! 4. The pillows?!?!?!? Where in gods name did they buy the pillows, i mean really, they were made for Santa's baby Elves. They were tiny, I mean they had to roll the extra pillow case up under the pillow it was so small. 5. The cleaning people never cleaned. They fixed the bed and that was it.. We had to go down several times and get things like, toilet paper, towels, trash bags, soap and the bags for the ice bucket. The only thing worth this hotel was the breakfast, great breakfast!!!! and the location, the hotel was about 5 mins from everything!!! We love travelling, and it was our honeymoon.....WE CUT IT SHORT TWO DAYS BECAUSE OF THIS HOTEL!!!!!

    « No complaints! »

Stayed there for one night with husband and kids. Perfect location if you are heading to Patriot's Point. For the price of the room, we had no complaints. The room had 2 queen beds. They were pretty comfortable. Lots of pillows. The A/C worked well. The hotel room had a little wear and tear but it was clean. There was sufficient hot water and the water pressure was pretty decent. Fortunately, they didn't use any of the nasty smelling room deodorizers less expensive hotels often use and the room had no odors. The continental breakfast was average but complimentary. They had eggs, sausage, yogurt, pastries, cereals, etc. They probably should replace or adjust the settings on the waffle makers. Our waffles were a little doughy likely due to the wear and tear placed on the waffle makers. The staff was friendly. Check in and check out a breeze. We will stay there again.

« Very reasonable for the price »

I stayed here recently while attending a wedding with my wife and our 2 adult sons in their own room. My wife and I were assigned room 201 which is a handicap room at the end of the hall. No problems with the room per se but a couple of issues -- the closet is set up for someone in a wheel chair and the clothes rod is much lower than standard which presented a problem for my wife's long dress. The bath is accessed by a pocket door which was okay. Our only other issue was after hearing what sounded like bongo drums several times the room shook slightly. It brought back memories of 'magic fingers' (whole bed massagers by vibration) from the '60s. Nothing to be alarmed about but it was a noticeable vibration and visible by water in glasses also vibrating. The breakfast was a disappointment from stays at other Best Westerns or Hampton Inns. Not much variety and a smallish space. My son's room was okay but the sheets on one bed did not appear clean. The elevator was a slow so we walked up and down the stairs except when we had our luggage. The price made it all worthwhile with the AAA discount and it is conveniently located between Coleman Blvd. and Highway 17.

Good value..had planned to stay at Quality to be with my group, but it was full. They recommended the nearby Best Western. My room was 1/2 the cost of the Quality..so turned out very good for me. Glad I waited to get a reservation!

    « Great location »

Very friendly staff.Very clean rooms. The free breakfast was great. The hotel was close to patriots point . So it wasnt far to get to boat to tour Patriots point and Fort Summter. Also the desk clerk gave us directions to a wonderful place to eat in Shems Creek

    « Convenient location »

We looked for a hotel that offered parking/transport for our cruise. The Best Western location fit the bill! It was easy to find. We were pleased with the hotel, transport and price. The driver was timely taking us to the port and notifying us when and where to pick up. We were back at the hotel by 8:10 A.M.! Pleased with this hotel and will stay there again!

    « Great Before a Cruise »

We stayed here the night before our cruise. Staff was very friendly, and the like cation was great - just 10 minutes from the port. Be warned if you use TomTom to find it - when you come across the Arthur Ravenal Bridge from Charleston, TomTom said to turn left at McGrath Darby Blvd. DON'T - turn RIGHT instead - the Best Western is right next to the Days Inn. Parking was easy, and the breakfast is free. We met our son there, so we had 2 cars. We were able to leave one there for free for the duration of our cruise. We drove ourselves to the pier but a cruise shuttle is available. I believe there is a charge for this, but we didn't ask since it didn't apply to us. The room and beds were comfortable, and we checked out at 11am and drove straight to the port. If we cruise again from Charleston, or even if we just go to visit the city, we will stay here again.

    4
    « Patriots Point »

The hotel was in an excellent location. We were just minutes from Patriots Point and downtown Charleston. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The check-in was easy, attendants were very cordial and helpful. They had luggage carts which made bringing the bags up to the room easier.

« Great location with friendly staff »

Hotel is conveniently located to Charleston and Shems Creek in Mt. Pleasant. Rooms are clean, A/C unit was very loud though. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A pleasant stay. It is a quick drive to Charleston over the bridge and there is a water taxi from Patriots point as well

« It was your average hotel stay with a fantastic breakfast »

The hotel was your average Best Western Hotel. It had a clean room that met our expectation. The room was actually very large because of the design and being next to the elevator. It had a bid of a musty smell but once the a/c had run a while it was better but not gone. They get a star removed for that and the "closet" is a flimsy set of doors that resemble an ikea style wardrobe. We felt safe leaving our cars and walking the area. There is a great little Turkish place next door we walked to without hesitation. The hotel is very convenient to Patriot's Point (3 minutes) and to get to downtown Charleston by Uber ($8) it take 9 minutes. Great location for our needs. The breakfast was awesome. I like a big breakfast to start my day and they have EVERYTHING you could want. The eggs, ham, coffee, and biscuits were hot while they have cold milk, orange juice, and yogurt. I especially liked the waffle iron which was a nice touch. The staff is friendly and they were helping everyone in the computer area and calling for rides as requested. They greeted us everytime we walked in and bid us goodbye on the way out. They were some of the most hospitable staff I've seen in a while.

    « Untrained/unknowledgeable staff, lack luster breakfast »

I had paid for the room via Hotels.com so upon checkin I was asked for a credit card for incidentals. Gave the guy my card, and he charges us for the room, that I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR. He assured me it was a hold and it would disappear in 24 hours, feeling unsure about his response I asked again when the next clerk came on duty, so she checked and yes he charged my card wrong, I heard her tell him he put it under the room folder instead of incidentals. (At least she came in and I don't have to spend countless time on the phone with my bank straightening this out). He said there was only ice on the 2nd floor, there's ice on the 3rd floor. He said there was bacon at breakfast, there was none. He said there was biscuits and gravy and breakfast, there was none. All and all I would not stay here again, my dad stayed at a best western on the south side of town Called the Charleston Inn recently and he raved about how much better the breakfast was and more knowledgeable the staff was.

    « Great location! »

I have stayed at this Best Western many times. The location is great. You can drive to downtown Charleston in 10 minutes or less. The airport is an easy drive, too. Mt. Pleasant has plenty of good restaurants and shopping areas. The hotel is in a quiet and safe area.

    4
« Nice, clean and convenient »

The hotel is conveniently located just across the bridge from the historic district of Charleston. It is clean, the rooms are nice and the breakfast is good. The pool was cold when we were there, but we didn't have time to swim anyway.

    3
« Nice place that could be much better! »

Rooms are fine, bed comfortable, and the location is wonderful. However, for the price there are hotels within 2 blocks that exceed this by a mile. Desk clerks are not interested in being helpful in anyway. My husband called 3 times (from another country) and left messages for me and not once did my message light blink or was I left a note at the desk. If you dont have a choice then stay here because the rooms are clean... but if you have a choice go across the street and stay at Sleep Inn.

    « Nice Upgrades! »

I've stayed at this hotel twice now... once 10/19/16 and once around my birthday in February 2016. In between these two dates, the hotel has had some major renovations to the lobby and dining area, which were a pleasant surprise upon check last week. The rooms had already been upgraded and were in great condition, and the lobby and continental breakfast area were remodeled and more accommodating for the large number of people that crowd into the breakfast area. The outdoor pool was open this trip, but it was a tad chilly, so we only stayed in for a few minutes, but it was nice and clean. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The rooms were clean and the bedding was all new from my previous stay. Free WiFi and hot breakfast included, and just minutes away from Patriot's Point, Downtown Charleston, and our destination - the Carnival Cruise Port! I will absolutely stay here again in the future!

    4
    « Perfect location! »

After travelling for a few days we were so happy to find this hotel - surrounded by trees, in a very quiet area but only minutes from the sea ( Shem's Creek area) and also minutes from the lovely new, soaring bridge over to Charleston. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast had a good choice and was nice. My only complaint was the musty smell in the room but after smelling the same thing in the Boone Hall Plantation house I realized it may be inevitable in that area. We will happily stay there again.

    4
« Close to all major attractions »

The hotel is situated in a safe area and very close to all major attractions Charleston has to offer. Only 10 minutes over the bridge into historic downtown, 5 minutes to Patriots Point and 20 minutes to the coast. I only gave 4 points because the rooms could have been cleaner and compared to other places we stayed on our road trip through the southeast the breakfast wasn't as good as in the other hotels.

    4
« Good hotel in very good location, close to everythings »

No problems.Area is safe.Price is good for location.Everything you need can be found around.Beach is not faraway also.We will stay here again.Any small problems seems to be normal, like in any hotels, but once again location is very good.

« Close hotel with basics close to Patriot Point and Charleston »

Greeted very warmly, given assistance to find things to eat locally. The room was large, bathroom larger, clean and ready. The air conditioner could be cleaned out as when it ran it smell mildew. We just opened the window and shut it off and were fine. The breakfast was great, constantly cleaned and resupplied.

« Great Staff, Great Room, Great Rate!! »

My family stayed here for 1 night prior to our cruise. The staff was great - friendly, professional, accommodating. Our room was clean, the bathroom was large, beds were comfortable. The rate that we received was so much lower than the other hotels that we looked at, I was not expecting much. But, to my surprise, this hotel and its staff exceeded our expectations. Also, the breakfast service was terrific - not a "continental breakfast" - but a mini-buffet with a "make-your-own waffle" setup. My family was delighted. Will definitely stay here prior to our next cruise!

    4
    « Good value »

Very good value and location. Easily access both Mt. Pleasant and Charleston,. Very close proximity to Patriot's Point . Rate was very good considering the other options during our visit. Many restaurants, fast food, grocery stores and other shops adjacent to the area. I would not hesitate staying at the hotel again.

« Great place to stay for the price »

Great place for the price and was very easy to get to all points of interest and restaurants. Nice room and it was very comfortable and would stay here again if back in this neck of the woods again. It was in a pretty quite location which made for a peaceful nights rest.

« The best in Charleston »

Very clean. I loved this hotel. It has been recently remodeled. It's a wonderful place to stay. It is convenient to the beach and to downtown Charleston. You won't find a nicer hotel in the area. Parking is free and not crowded.

    « Rude housekeeper »

We stayed here one night for a day in Charleston. Check in was fine. Lobby is ok. Room was not so good. Shampoo and lotion were used glad I always bring my own. The toilet was loose and wobbled. The carpet needed cleaning my socks weren't white or near it when I walked on it. They looked like I had walked on a sidewalk with them and shook them off a bit just nasty . The bed was very comfortable. Great location, great neighborhood. It was peaceful and quiet so got a good night sleep. The next morning housekeeping knocked on the door and says it's almost check out time and proceeds to walk in. She looks in the bathroom and walks out. Mind you check out is 11 this was between 8am and 9am. Won't go back

« Great stay at a super convenient location! »

Fine hotel located just minutes from Patriots Park. Easy drive to Point for day at the Naval ship Yorktown or to ride to Charleston on the water taxi. Restaurants within a mile or two that are sure to satisfy. (Shem Creek area) Room was clean, although carpet might have been cleaner. Quiet location, comfortable bed. B[fast typical hotel b'fast - eggs, ham, toast, waffles, various bagels/muffins, cereal. Overall, good place to stay while visiting Charleston. Would definitely book again!

« Best in Mt. Pleasant, SC »

Great place to stay, always clean. Staff is so friendly, esp. Ms. Beresse, she makes you feel at home and so funny. She will start your day out right. Breakfast is good, rooms are very comfortable and you are close to everything.

    « Excellent Location »

I have stayed at this location several times and have always been happy with the experience. The rooms are clean, staff is very helpful, and breakfast is great. This location is also convenient for attractions in Charleston. It is within 15 minutes of Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Folly Beach, and downtown Charleston. Beautiful location just off the Ravenel Bridge

    3
« You get what you pay for »

No hand soap or cold water for brushing my teeth. But, it's a hotel room with cable and it's just a place to sleep. Folly Beach is only 25-30 minutes away, with food and bars even closers to the hotel. There's 4-5 bars and seafood joints within a mile of the hotel. If you're going for just a place to sleep, and not for typical hotel bells and whistles, save some cash and stay here. Very friendly staff, complementary breakfast?like every hotel?and free cookies, too! Perfect for those that want to be near the beach and not pay resort prices.

First time staying at this Best Western. We were very pleased.. The room was very nice , as was the bed. We were able to check in a little early so we were able to go downtown and have some fun. Very close to town and a lot of great restaurants. Not a bad price for this location. Good wifi. Again a very happy staff. Hope to stay here next trip if the price is right. Thanks again Pam & Fred

    « What a dump »

We got reservations here months ago for a trip we were taking. At check about half the time the doors would not open. It was dirty and very unkept. Went to get a bottle of water from the machine and it ripped me off. The last straw was the toilet would not flush. All of that being said the plus was that the girl at the front desk tried to help us out as much as she could. This will be our last Super 8.

    1
« not clean at all »

Room was dirty asked the front desk to have someone clean crumbs and food up that was all over the floor. Shower was dirty hair all over it. They only came in and picked up the big piece of food that was it very gross. My door would not close unless I slammed it 5 times. The pool area smelled like something died out there. never again

    2
    « Moldy smelling rooms »

Affordable location close to historic Charleston. The lobby was renovated and nice. Those few positives do not overcome the huge negative of moldy smelling rooms! It was overpowering like the rooms were flooded and never cleaned. Finally was given one room on the 1st floor that did not smell but the mattress was old and lumpy. Rooms need renovation!!! Breakfast was mediocre. Went safe and only had cold cereal. Will not return.

    1
    « Not a comfortable stay »

Due to the uncaring staff, terrible internet service, dirty rooms and very noisy beds our much anticipated vacation made for an unpleasant stay in the Charleston area. The location was ok if you want a bit quieter area.

    3
    « OK Place »

It was fine for my family and I. For the money relative to other places in the area, I thought it to be a fair value. I thought the staff to be pleasant and friendly. Rooms were OK. I've stayed in nicer, but I have also stayed in worse. The continental breakfast satisfied our needs. The staff routinely checked on people having breakfast to make sure everything was OK. I would have not issue staying their again. In short: If your particular of every detail of a hotel, this place may not be for you. If your willing to over look some imperfections, you might be OK.

    5
    « Great Rest »

Stopped here on a quick weekend get away. The room was clean and fresh smelling as was the hotel. Front staff was great and friendly. House keeping took care of our request for extra pillows. The property is convenient to a lot of attractions and a very short drive to downtown Charleston.

    3
« Good location and value »

This facility is showing its age, but is being updated. The location is close to the Fort Sumter tour boat location and Yorktown. The bathtub non slip mat had not been removed and cleaned under. It was gross. The room did not have a clock. It was very slow to hook up to WiFi. The room had a such a musty smell, we drove to a store and bought some air freshener. On the positive side the price was very reasonable. The breakfast was the standard no problems there.

    3
« Good value for our needs »

The overall experience was good. The room was not as clean as I would expect it to be. Our room was not cleaned during our stay. We requested adjoining rooms but unfortunately non were available. The location was great for site seeing. Free parking is a plus. The pool was warm yet refreshing.

    5
    « good value »

beautiful landscaping, good location, friendly staff, very clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. easy checkin and out. breakfast was sufficient.. nothing elaborate (pre-formed round flat eggs for biscuits) but as I received an industry discount I was fine with it.

    3
    « Satisfactory »

This hotel has the potential to be fantastic but falls short. The corridors were dirty as though they had not been vacuumed in quite a while. The beds were marginal and not comfortable. The room was small with barely enough room for the chair to fit between the bed and the desk.

    « Visit to Charleston »

Very convenient hotel and close to everything. Went there with my son who is contemplating relocating there and wanted to stay somewhere that offered the best of the area. Close to the waterfront, restaurants and pubs and the city as well as the residential areas. Clean and efficient hotel with nice amenities and staff.

    4
    « Maid service questionable »

The hotel is great, but the beds were NEVER made up for us when we came back to the room later in the day. We stayed there four nights and the maids never made our beds...why?? We also had to beg for an additional roll of toilet paper when we were close to being out. Overall a great place to stay...except for the maids. Comfort of the beds is not too good, either.

    « convenient and clean »

We were looking for a hotel that was close to downtown Charleston without having the pay an enormous amount of money. Best Western delivered. Although the hotel was under construction as well as the pool ( slightly disappointed by that ) the hotel was in a great location and the staff was great. We had arrived at the hotel after doing a considerable amount of driving to get to Charleston as well as doing a fair amount the site-seeing, we were exhausted and asked for directions to a restaurant that was close and had good food. They offered a few that were so close that if we were not so tired we could have walked with no problem. They also offered coupons for some restaurants etc in the area and told us about other attractions in the area. Very helpful and really nice considering they were busy and again under construction. When we left in the morning realizing that we did not have enough time to use one of our tickets for the botanical garden and we didn't want to see them wasted, so we offered them to two of the staff members in the office while checking out. Instantly one of the ladies knew exactly the person to give them to that was also staying at the hotel and she thought he would really enjoy using them. I was struck by her generosity of thinking not of herself but of someone else. It put a smile on my face and added to my memories of Charleston. Another great stay at a Best Western, comfortable bed, clean, a nice breakfast and great staff.

    5
    « Great Vacation »

We were greeted by and cared for by all staff in a very professional manner and treated us like family. Even though the lobby and breakfast area was being remodeled we didn't feel inconvenienced at all. When we stay in any hotel we don't count problems we count solutions, and Sidney was there to take care of it right away

« 2 day stay in Charleston sc »

The room we had was very clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and very helpful with any questions we had about the area. The only drawback was the main lobby was under construction which forced you to use a side door of the hotel. It was nice enough that I will probably stay at this hotel again.

    « Beautiful experience! »

my family came to Mt. Pleasant to enjoy a great weekend together. We actually were to stay i some Suites up the road. when we got there they were almost slum like. We were appalled. We decided to try and make it work. At about 9 pm we decided it was too disgusting so we drove up the road and seen this hotel. Decided to stop and we were so glad we did. It was one of the most beautiful hotels and the staff was so nice to us.

« Good Value Even With Renovation Work Going On »

I stayed here for one night prior to going on a Carnival cruise out of the Port of Charleston the following day. Hotel lobby was being renovated but the front desk staff worked extra hard to accommodate me and my family. Hotel mattresses need to be switched out as they were very uncomfortable. However, the hotel is in a good location near the port, clean, and safe for our short stay. This hotel and others in Mt. Pleasant should offer a stay-park-and shuttle program to allow people like myself to stay there and be shuttled to and from the port for cruises out of Charleston. This would build loyalty and save your customers $85 in parking fees at the port.

« Still under contruction but Excellent Customer Service »

We stayed here for a wedding. They advised us of the construction in advance but the price was right so we went for it. (I hate paying a fortune for a bed to sleep in.) I have stayed in the Hampton Inn next door before and it was very nice but double the price which to me is not worth it when we don't plan to spend much time in the room! There are pros and cons to the Best Western. Cons - not much parking. Check-in is at the far right side of the building so on a rainy night it was a bit more challenging to get to. The pool is small and due to the construction the breakfast is very limited. Also, die to the old heat/AC unit in the room the room has a slightly musty smell to it. On to the Pros. Customer Service is excellent! Check in was super easy and there is staff everywhere to help out. Breakfast may be limited but they keep it stocked, neat and will get you anything you need. I had a sick child and they offered to make tea for her and bring it to our room. The pool - while small - is plenty deep, has a patio in the sun to relax on and even has a chair lift for assisting a disabled person into the pool. Thought was a nice touch. Location is easy to get to just over the Ravenel bridge and close to lots of businesses. Also, very close to Patriots Point if you want to go check out the boats. Room on 2nd floor was small for 4 people but not tiny. Bathroom was spotless, just needed more towel racks for handing wet towels. Water pressure is awesome in shower and beds are very comfy. Not too soft! Also, like that we had a large window in the room with a cushion over the AC/heat that made a nice window seat. Cute touch. And room had a microwave and fridge in it which we always need. Long way to go on the renovations in the lobby. And they should then move to the guest hallways as they could use a face lift. But it is a nice, quiet, hotel for the price with excellent staff!

    « Great Customer Service »

After reading several reviews I was kind of scared what we may get into but having $150 worth of Best Western Bucks we decided to risk it and I am glad we did. They are under construction remodel. The room on the 3rd floor was complete and very nice with couch and 2 televisions ,granite in bathroom, small refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer and ironing board/ iron. The staff was so friendly. When construction is finished it should really be nice. I would definitely stay there again!

    « Needs Attention »

I understand this hotel has been under renovation since February. It is amazing it has so much more work to yet be done. The parking is quite limited and won't be that much more improved once the dumpsters are removed. Breakfast is more limited than I am used to at a Best Western but the woman managing it did so in difficult circumstances because of renovation and did a good job. I believe they will up their game once done. My room was "cleaned" but upon my return a half-filled coffee cup was on the desk and the amenities were not replenished. We used the make-up remover the night before and no new one for next day. And all towels not replaced. Tub took long time to drain and toilet handle had to be held down for entire flush. Most employees quite pleasant but a couple of desk people were a bit off putting - just not cordial. And when I got lost and called for direction (and found out I was just across the highway) I did not understand the woman and when asked further questions heard, "I told you ..." Not a great opening for an incoming guest. Décor was fine and bed and bedding was very comfortable. Great window cushion, so you could enjoy sitting by window. Will probably be nice place once renovations are done.

    « NICE employees »

This is a great location for the Charleston area. The hotel was under some remodeling work but it wasn't much of an issue. The hotel has the nicest employees on their staff. Our bed was not very comfortable but we have had worse mattresses before.

My wife and I were on a mini vacation to celebrate our 12th anniversary. Because of my business, we are not able to get away often. When we first arrived at the Best Western, we were a little concerned. Obviously there was renovation in the front lobby. We were directed to a side door. We were even more concerned when we discovered that our room was located two doors down from that entrance. Actually, it turned out to be very handy. We did not have very far to walk from our car. Probably, the friendliest staff we've ever encountered at a hotel. The room was not very large, but had everything that we needed. It was extremely clean. Even the air was very fresh with no musky odor. It appeared that this room had been renovated. What a very pleasant experience!

    « Huge Disappointment »

This was the fourth time we've stayed at this Best Western and it has gotten progressively worse. My mom and I stayed there while visiting Charleston. I understand they are in the middle of a renovation but I never saw anyone actually working on that. We had to go in the side door which meant walking through the smoking area outside. The check in process was ridiculous in a small hotel room. It was crowded and hot. We got 2 cards for our room and 1 never worked. Our room had 2 lights out. A bedside light and the light above the window seat. So that half of the room was completely dark. You had to move the coffee pot over to the bedside table in order to plug it in. The shower barely worked. I could actually feel the difference in water pressure when another guest showered. The bathroom had no air, it was so hot in there. No way to cool off. The parking was impossible. There was actually not enough parking spaces because of the dumpster taking up multiple spaces in the very front of the building. I'm not sure why you have that thing taking up parking spaces and not just next to the curb. My mom booked the room at my recommendation and I was embarrassed. I feel like if you are inconveniencing your guests to that extent, you might want to offer a discount or maybe vouchers for a local restaurant. There are too many other, nicer options to settle for this Best Western. I will not stay there again!

    « PLEASANT STAY »

Staff was extremely friendly. Room was nice and comfy. Due to lobby refurb, breakfast was in a 2nd floor room, and limited on choices, but the lady in charge was so nice, making sure everyone had what they needed. Looking forward to seeing the finished product next Memorial Day weekend.

    « Never again »

We stayed at Best Western Patriots Point a year ago when we came for Spoleto, and it was a very nice experience. This year, awful, awful. Maybe they've changed owners? We arrived to discover that all the first floor public areas are being remodeled, with the temporary entrance off at the end of a hall, and checkin in a small bedroom, and breakfast in a large bedroom. They had told us, months ago when we reserved, that our best chance of getting the connecting rooms we wanted was to get there between 1 and 2 p.m., before the afternoon checkin rush started. But they got very snippy when we showed up at 1:30, and almost told us to come back later. They did give us a ten percent discount at checkin -- "for the inconvenience of the construction," they said, and only after we complained a lot before checking in. Little did we know. The whole front of the building is open to the elements, so every time the elevator opens, it gulps up a big lungful of damp, moldy, construction-scented air and carries it to every floor above. Having a room on the third floor didn't help. Our room was musty, moldy and damp. My sister-in-law is allergic to mold and couldn't stay there an hour. I'm not, but I had a sinus headache by evening. In the morning, we couldn't make the shower turn on. Both of us tried pushing, pulling, twisting, angling the faucet, but nothing happened. Just as well, really, as there is a huge gap between the tacky plastic tub surround and the fixtures. If we had been able to turn on the shower, it would have poured water into the wall space. We checked out after one night. They wouldn't discount the rate any more because they sent a maintenance guy to check the shower and he said it worked. And the weekend staff weren't authorized for a larger discount. "Call the manager tomorrow," they said. I have tried four times now to talk to the manager. She's never available. Assistant manager assured me she could take care of "whatever the problem was." But when I explained she said she would have to look into it and would call me back. She didn't. I called twice more for the manager. Ended up with the assistant again. She insisted there was nothing wrong with the shower, she had talked with the staff by phone when we checked out, and there was no problem. I won't be back. Ever.

    « Good location »

The room was very comfortable. I especially liked the large bathroom. They are in the middle of a renovation so the reception area is one of the rooms and the breakfast area is also one of the rooms. The staff seems to be making the best of a difficult situation. Mt. Pleasant is close for day trips to Charleston and far enough away to be less crowded and congested. Patriots Point just down the block where the Yorktown is located as well as the boat to Ft. Sumter.

« Good sized room, very clean »

My hotel room was kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping staff. It's got great access to highways across Charleston, although isn't in what I'd consider a hub itself. There's a supermarket and a variety places to eat nearby. Hotel decor/furnishing was a bit old/dated, but the bed was comfy and air con worked well. Breakfast wasn't great though...

Wanted to stay in a familiar area and chose a facility we'd used before. As with investments, past results are no guarantee of future performance; the previous time was very nice. This time... The rewards program wasn't recognized as expected. Several items in the room didn't work (perhaps only our room)? Television remote system is poor and our unit didn't work well. Fridge door was backward to cabinet door on the outside. While the wifi worked, it took some sifting through login screens to figure out where one logged in. Hotel staff had their hands full. In addition to a front entrance and lobby remodel, they were also systematically cleaning the carpets. I expect it will be finished at some point, but one staffer shared that they're "redoing the entire area so it will provide a great welcome to our customers." I hope so - but a better room would have been more helpful. In addition, the put the outside smoking area directly on the path of the altered entrance (due to remodel), so one had to walk through cigarette smoke to get into the motel. Lastly, a staffer was overheard talking to another - "I am so out of here." Perhaps it WOULD be better without them. I hope they get it turned around. The location is great; prices have risen which was unfavorable. But they have to have a product fitting for guests and for the Best Western brand. At this point, it's a steep uphill climb. If you're bent on staying here, my advice is to wait until the fall.

    « Disappointed »

We were in town for our son's college graduation and were very disappointed to arrived and find the hotel was under renovations (with no prior warning). Our room had a musty odor, the tub had a huge crack down the middle (covered over by a rubber mat) making us feel we would be visiting the room downstairs at any moment. The hot/cold water faucet did not work properly. I saw no signs apologizing for the inconvenience of the renovations. I would hope that once the renovations are completed, this would be a better place to stay.

    « BAD HOUSEKEEPING »

My wife and I stayed 2 nights here at the end of March. Although the location is good, the hotel is not. After our first night we went out and toured the area. Upon arriving back at the hotel after 6 pm, we found the bathroom had not been cleaned. I went down to the make shift office to complain. They told that no one was available to clean the room after 6 pm. Pray someone or something doesn't happen after 6 pm that may need attended to after that time. I told them that they had to find someone to clean the room. After calling the GM of the hotel, I was offered $20 for the inconvenience. I told them that I wanted a clean room not the $20. Also earlier in the day I had spoken to the housekeeping lady on the floor about the fitted sheet on the bed. It did not fir and was coming off the bed at the corners. She said that she would after that. Again nothing was done. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

« Don't know why there's not more stars for this guy! »

We stayed specifically to tour the Yorktown. Very close, with easy access, and restaurants too. Can't say enogh about The Chareslton Fish House, but that's another review. Best Western is a very good choice if you like reasonable prices for a nights stay. The staff was very accommodating, which I'm sure was hard given they are undergoing renovation. Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The breakfast, not so much, unless you want to tear open a cellophane bag and warm your....put in the term, sausage and egg, bagel, etc. We'd stay again and go out for breakfast. Easy access to Chareston and many other venues.

    « Don't stay here »

Staff is rude, hotel is undergoing major renovations as of 04/16 but graffiti is already back on the walls. We should have realized our mistake when we pulled in and there were signs posted by the local police department reminding us to lock our vehicle.

    « Gut Job »

Hotel is way over due for renovations. Only stayed one night even though I paid for two nights. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they renovate. Pool appeared to be ready but closed sign on gate for some reason.

« This hotel is being renovated! »

I would not recommend staying in this hotel until renovation is complete. Our room was a adequate and the staff was pleasant but the room was expensive under the best of circumstances which made our stay somewhat unpleasant.

    1
    « Nastiest hotel room ever !!! »

There was food crumbs all over the floor in our room including a biscuit under the couch. It was obvious that the room had not been vacuumed. We had noticed the same in the halls. Looked like they had not been vacuumed in days, maybe weeks. I placed my reservation with the national number. When I called the national number back they told me they were not aware of any renovations. It was a big suprise when we had to check in and eat converted rooms. There was a very limited breakfast due to construction. The local people at the desk were no help in making our stay better, they actually argured with me saying that renovations was mentioned on the website (I booked on the phone). I was also told at check out they would offer me a credit and email me the information but they never did.

« Good Deal and Fine! »

Great Location / easy to and from Charleston!! Very reasonable and although it is only an average quality hotel, we found the hospitality staff above average! The front entrance area is being remodeled: we were 2 rooms down from it and did not experience noise difficulties in the evening. We'd go out for the day and come back at 4 -5ish to no construction noise. It is an adequate, clean, cheerful, and safe place to stay. The staff are doing their jobs well and were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful to us.

    4
« Good even with the renovations »

First of all, I want to say that I NEVER stay in a hotel without reading Trip Advisor reviews. Therefore, I was well aware of the renovations and the less-than-stellar reviews that had been posted, and chose to stay there anyway, since I had stayed there in the past with no problems. If anyone has ever had renovations at their home or business, you should be well aware of alternate accommodations that have to be made. In my opinion, Best Western made the absolute best of a bad situation. Yes, check-in/out was in a room; yes, breakfast was on the second floor in a room, but management and staff made do with what they had. The girl at the check-in counter was very friendly and helpful. The "breakfast lady" was so very friendly and tried to make sure guests had everything they needed. There was plenty of food and variety at breakfast, even under the circumstances. And my room was perfectly fine. The beds were made perfectly, and the extra pillows were wonderful. I would definitely stay at this BW again while visiting the Mount Pleasant area.

    2
« Had to change rooms (because the door lock was broken) »

Not happy that the door wouldn't lock (had to change rooms after everything was already unpacked). No exercise room. Would have been nice if I was informed that the hotel is undergoing a major renovation. I guess you get what you pay for !!

    3
    « Fine but expensive »

Hotel is fine. Rooms are clean. Major renovations going on so breakfast was in small room and choice was not good. Area was safe and restaurants nearby. About 10min drive to downtown Charleston. Overall expensive as I've stayed in hotels for $60 that would be as good as this but cause this is Charleston!!!

    2
« Beware of major renovations taking place »

Reservation confirmed via Booking.com and was not aware of renovations taking place. After our stay I was advised that in fine print on website at bottom is the following: "The property will be going through renovation works from Tues 23 Feb 2016 until Tues 31 May 2016. During this period, guests may experience some noise or light disturbances, and some hotel facilities and services may not be available." The main entrance is closed & office is temporarily located in a guest room. Breakfast area is also closed & temporarily located in another guest room that is not large enough to adequately accommodate guests. Hallways were extremely dirty and weren't vacuumed during the 3 nights we stayed there. Refrigerator and a/c unit did not work in one of our rooms and it took 3 irons before we found one that worked.

    2
    « Needs Improvements »

In the process of renovations. Very messy at the moment. Breakfast is terrible. Not much offered besides thawed out danishes. Rooms not being cleaned very well. Only plus is it's easy to get to places.

    1
« Get me out of here »

The place is old, dirty and the staff are not helpful at all. The breakfast was terrible and the staff managing the breakfast room, due to the hotel having reception renovations, was dressed in the dirtiest uniform I have ever seen. The only good part of this place is the location. This place is only a one star. For this place to compete with the lovely hotels being built next door they will have to completely renovate. Really it was very disappointing. I would not stay here again.

    3
    « Under Reconstruction »

Hotel office, lobby and breakfast area are under a total rebuild. You must enter the hotel through side door to the right. This is the smoking area for employees and guests so hold your breath. Breakfast was standard fare with a very nice lady keeping everything stocked. The breakfast area room is very small and feels like a guest room converted into an eating area. BEWARE: IPhone app for maps doesn't work very well in this area...you'll go round and round in circles.

« Great Place to stay »

Great people working. Make you feel at home. Always clean.Close to everything in Mt. Pleasant. Food is good and looking forward to their new look. Have stayed here many times in the past six years and always have found great service.

Under renovation. One bed look and smelled like it had not been changed. If it had been the only bed I would have demanded fresh sheets. The other bed seemed okay, but couldn't be sure. Carpet was visibly dirty and stained. Bathroom seemed okay, just worn a little. This hotel is in a good location but the cleanliness was lacking.

    « Sleep Elsewhere »

I am a travel consultant and would not recommend. Bolt on room doors do no work. Room has really bad odor and there is mold around window. There is no screen in window to keep bugs out if you attempt to open them. The electrical cover plates are bent. Carpet is old and stained and appears dirty. Reception was under construction and we had diffilculty finding the check-in area. Pool is seasonal only When I mentioned to staff I wanted to change rooms it was indicated that my room was no different than any of the other on site. Check in and checkout, and breakfast staff were great!

    « Horrible! »

My husband and I travel to Charleston yearly. We love the area. Each time we enjoy staying different places. This time we chose patriots point. We love Best Westerns and found this one close and in our budget. When we pulled up the first thing we noticed was there was no lobby. As others mentioned the hotel was under construction and no warning. We got there late (after 11) so he went in the side door/ makeshift lobby in a room. He got our room and when we went up our room key wouldn't work. Apparently that room you had to turn the handle up. Not down like a normal door. We had asked for two queen beds in our reservation. We get inside and there is one queen and a sofa bed. No sheets on the sofa bed. My husband went down and the guy at the counter told him that someone should have called us because we were upgraded to a suite. This was no upgrade. Trust me. So being exhausted we tried to make the best of it. The next morning my husband went to talk to the manager. She said we had been given the wrong room. So she keyed two new cards to the room we were supposed to have received the night before. While she did acknowledge the mistake from the guy the night before our journey didn't end there. My husband went to check the room and there were people in the room. Long story short they were booked with no other rooms. They begrudgingly comped our room and we went and stayed elsewhere. We asked to speak to someone and no one has acknowledged the situation this was March 24th. We called beat western corporate and they said being a franchise that they could so as they wish. Horrible experience!!! Would not recommend this at all!

« Thoroughly enjoyed our stay »

The room was very large and very comfortable with more than adequate seating, which is often hard to find. The hotel was undergoing renovation, but it did not bother our stay at all. Bedding was comfortable and staff was very pleasant. There is a lot to see and do in this area, just a hop and skip from Charleston. We enjoyed taking the water taxi to Charleston for our tour...fun experience for our grandson. The water taxi operator was very pleasant and answered all the questions our grandson had. Breakfast was good as well.

    « Disappointed »

These are not my first impressions-we have stayed here several times-it makes me wonder if there's a new owner? Lobby closed due to remodeling-had to enter through side door-temporary office set up in one of the guest rooms The desk said I didn't have a reservation-had to show her the confirmation I had printed off the online reservation Got to the assigned room and found out they had given us a handicap accessible room which we had not requested. This is still puzzling since it's not the first time this has happened. At least the other time they gave us a different room, this time they said all the rooms were reserved. Because of the remodeling, the breakfast was moved to a guest room which you can imagine was a joke. The wifi connection was slow much of the time-third day couldn't access at all-walked to other end of hotel hallway and had a strong signal A minor thing but the remote was broken (the scroll button would not work). Needless to say I couldn't recommend this Best Western to a friend neither will plan on staying here again.

« Renovations without notice or discount »

Hotel lobby/breakfast area were being renovated, with no notice to reserved guests. Very difficult to get to room. Breakfast area was in a guest room on the 2nd floor, and selections extremely limited. Best part...staff is always wonderful

    « Girls Trip 2016 »

This hotel is under construction and we were not advised. We were given the first room next to the exit door. The room had an odor in it which was not nice. Upon arrival at reception (which was in a hotel room due to construction) one of the guest services people was playing on her phone and didn't even acknowledge us. The room was clean, the amenities were nice, but this was not a spectacular visit. The hotel needs to up their game on professional and customer service. The one positive thing was the lady who was working the breakfast (in a hotel room due to construction); she was sweet and kind, always asking how everyone was. She was the highlight of the stay. I wish I could remember her name.

    5
« Nice stay but currently under renovation »

I have stayed at this hotel several times previously. It is a nice hotel but currently the lobby is under renovation and checkin is done in a room on the 1st floor and breakfast is in a room on the 2nd floor. I am sure it will be wonderful when complete. This hotel is so easy to access and is convenient to go anywhere in the Charleston area.

    4
    « happy in Charleston »

BW is a great location to downtown Charleston without paying the extremely high prices of the hotels in the area. There was lots of restaurants and shopping close by....all in walking distance. Staff at the hotel were very helpful pointing out where to eat, what to see in the area and in this instance they working out of a guest room as the hotel lobby was under construction. No complaints by the staff who checked us in and/or the ones that checked us out. We had a 2 guest voucher for the Mangnolia Plantation but we were unable to go so we wanted to pass this Free voucher for one of them to use. Instantly one of the staff said she had a guest who was staying with them for the last five days and she thought he would be very happy to have it. I was impressed that she instantly thought of a guest and not herself. That is loyalty. If you stay at BW in Mount Pleasant you will not be disappointed of its overall great value. We had a very enjoyed stay.

    « Nightmare »

Under Reno.. Stated on website but when booking no mention of this. When checking in I commented on this to the employee and was pretty much ignored... Next our plans had changed so we had to cancel the second night as I originally confirmed a 2 night stay. the young man told me we would be charged for second night.. I reminded him of a 24 hour cancelation and I was within the 24 hour time. Ok got that straight...I think? Also while checking in we were told 3 times NO SMOKING and NO PETS had to initial 3 places on contract that I was informed of their rules . As if that weren't enough they had a laminated sign in room to make sure you understood! I am a smoker but also an adult. I am wondering really what kind of quests are staying here at this point. Lobby area a joke as well as breakfast area and what was offered. So disappointed.. Last but not least when checking my bank account the next day after returning home I have a charge for FULL amount for 2 nights on card.. Oh did I mention we paid cash to the "friendly employee"for the one nights stay on arrival? Needless to say I had to wait for manager to be on site to review my charges. She assured me my card would be credited back in 2-5 business days... And the employee had ran the card pre-arrival? Advise to travelers pay a little more and stay at Hampton Inn right behind the property.. What a mess of a trip!!!!!!!

This hotel may be fine after they finish, but it was a mess. Renovation under way. Not good. Lobby closed. Breakfast in a hotel room, very cramped. Plastic over entrance and doors. Ran out of towels. I would like to know my hotel is under construction before arriving.

    « Disappointed »

After staying at the Roanoke Rapids Best Western and giving it 5 stars, Patriots Point was the exact opposite. First of all, it was under renovation and no one told me. While it is noted on the web site, I called the reservation number in order to get the room. They should have told me but didn't (according to a staff member of the hotel). The room was old and worn. The breakfast wasn't nearly as good as the other Best Western AND because the hotel was under renovation, breakfast AND hotel lobby is now being held in guest rooms. Not my cup of tea. And inconvenient to boot. Even the grounds weren't up to par. Sorry, but you asked.

Great access to Sullivans Island, Isle of Palms and downtown Charleston. It is almost literally at the base of the Cooper River bridge on the Mt Pleasant side. Shouldn't take more than a few minute to get to downtown. Getting to Sullivans and Isle of Palms is fairly easy via Coleman Blvd. Going north on 17 can be congested depending on the time of day. The hotel looks like it is undergoing some renovations. The interior reception area is a little dated. But the rooms had been updated and were good for a 2-star hotel, even if they are a little on the small side. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast - cereal, waffles, bacon, boiled eggs, oatmeal, etc. The lady who worked the breakfast was fantastic. Had a smile on her face, greeted everyone warmly and made sure everything was stocked and that no one needed anything. They need to make sure they keep her around. The hotel was perfect for a quick getaway where we spent most of our time out of the room. We went to Boone Hall Plantation and downtown Charleston on the two days that we were there. I'm a runner and enjoyed being close enough to the bridge to be able to run without getting in a car. Thanks for a great stay!

« Not up to BW's usual standard »

We stayed one night. The hotel is undergoing some renovation which means that there is a temporary entrance , a bedroom is being used as the front desk for check in, and the breakfast area is in a second floor bedroom. This isn't mentioned on the website when booking. Although we quite appreciate that when work on the building is being carried out there will be some inconvenience and disruption it is off putting to follow handwritten signs, check in in an untidy bedroom, and eat breakfast in a bedroom where the electricity for the whole room cuts out whenever anyone uses the toaster! The work is clearly needed as the rest of the motel is quite run down. Our room was clean and of a reasonable standard but there was no information booklet and the pillows were very small and not comfortable, and the shower wouldn't turn off properly. On the plus side staff were very helpful although we were not asked if everything had been OK during our stay when we checked out. We have stayed in several BWs in the last few weeks and standards are usually much higher.

This hotel is my first choice whenever I visit the beautiful Charleston area. Service is always excellent. Very clean. The Wifi can be touchy at times....but not horrible! And the cost is always better than any other hotel in the area. Its easy to cross the Ravenel Bridge to get to downtown, or head out to the Isle of Palms for the day.

I stay at this hotel whenever I visit the Charleston area. It is convenient, clean, quiet, and reasonably priced. It is also near some good restaurants. « Good location; friendly staff »

Location is great - 5 minutes walk to the bus stop, drop off at the Visitors Centre then take one of the free trolley buses. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice and there was tea and coffee available all the time. We stayed 2 nights at the start of our holiday and then returned for our last night so that we could visit Patriots Point Naval Museum. Plenty of eating establishments close by and a large supermarket. The hotel is a little tired looking in places but both the rooms we had were large, clean and comfortable and were fully equipped with coffee machine, fridge, microwave, iron and TV. Good value when compared with hotels in the Historic District. Free wifi as well. Will definitely stay again if we return to Charleston

    « Prety Good »

This hotel is reasonably priced and in a convenient location which is easy to get to. Front staff is efficient and pleasant. Hotel is clean. We had a problem with a noisy air conditioning unit about 2 feet from the bed - but all rooms have this feature. Light sleepers will have a problem with this. The hotel ignores special requests (like making reservations well in advance and asking for two rooms close to each other). So, there is no point in making requests. Probably my rating should be 3 to 3.5 but, for the price, all things considered I'll go with a 4.

    4

We have repeatedly stayed at this location for its proximity to Patriots Point and College of Charleston Athletic complex. We always find the staff welcoming and the rooms clean. Rates are usually lower than competitors. They offer your typical hotel breakfast. We will return.

We had 2 adjoining rooms and both rooms were not clean. At 1 a.m. we had to change rooms because one of the heating units kept defaulting to 87 degrees. The room we moved to had mildew along the bottom of the shower curtain and a price tag stuck to the bathroom counter indicating that the vanity wasn't properly cleaned. This is, by far, the worst stay at a Best Western we've ever had.

« Great customer service and clean rooms »

We decided to say here because we went on a cruise and this hotel was close to the port and close to local attractions. We stayed for 3 days and there was 4 of us and the hotel was very clean and the staff was very nice and accomidating. There was a continental breakfast each day and it was very close to attractions so we could come back to the room and rest any time of day. Would definatly stay again.

    « Ok »

The Hotel has left his best days behind. It`s clean and safe. And all the surroundings are fine. But the staff isn`t really helpful and the room and it`s furnishing was pretty poor for the price we paid.

This is an ideal hotel to stay in. It is located just before the bridge into Charleston. The rooms are clean and the hotel personnel very accommodating. The breakfast was more than I expected. Food item selection was great.

« Worst Best Western Ever »

Found that bed linens were not clean. Body hair was all over both bed's. No housekeeping to change linens. Changed them myself. Night front desk clerk was apologetic. Requested the hotel Manager. She was not available. Requested that she call me. This never occurred. Breakfast - The breakfast area was nasty The waffle maker looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The coffee was nasty - undrinkable - and I am a coffee lover. Candy bar from vending machine was not edible ? had to throw out. The elevator door opening had excessive amounts of trash / drywall in it. Please note - we are Diamond level Best Western Rewards Members. We will not stay at this hotel ever again.

« Feel the Culture in the hotel »

A great location to do things in Charleston. The staff are mostly the Gullah Geechee people who were very nice and considerate. Would stay here again for future Charleston endeavors because of the great location and ride across the bridge.

    « Great place! »

We stayed for 3 nights and it was a great place. Got a two queen bed suite and it was really nice! More than enough room. Nice and clean. The girls at the front desk and the breakfast lady were wonderful !! The free breakfast was above average and filling. The waffle maker was a bonus!! There was also toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, yogurt, fruit and 3 different types of cereal. Juice and coffee too! If you can't find something to eat then you are too picky! An added bonus was the cookies in the lobby in the afternoon. I would stay again!!

« Best Western employs thieves and liars. Stole $500 iPad! »

When me and my family checked out from the Best Western at Patriots Point, we forgot our IPad in the room, next to the television. When we returned home and called the hotel to ask if housekeeping had found it, they said no one has turned in an iPad. And that was their final answer. So now someone has a new iPad, and apparently it's ok if you have thieves working for you, because we cannot prove anything. The management has been less than helpful, and it's unbelievable that someone can just blatantly steal at work, and still have a job. Don't stay at this hotel, unless you want to stay somewhere that your personal belongings are not safe. There are plenty of other hotels in the area, don't stay at one full of thieves and liars, and let them ruin your vacation, too

    « Patriot's Point Best Western »

The staff is warm and friendly. They murals on the hall walls is a nice touch. The windows even have a padded seat for you to sit and and look out the window. It is across the bay from Charleston SC. Patriot's Point Best Western is also close to the Civil War site Fort Moltrie. This Best Western is also down the street from Patriot's Point. At Patriot's Point is the WWII carrier Yorktown, WWII destroyer Layfette, and a submarine. Patriot's Point also provides ferry service to the Civil War icon, Fort Sumter. The Patriot's point Best Western is a very good hotel well located to explore Charleston SC.

    « Pleasant indeed »

The property, staff and accomodations were great. There is some re-decorating going on but in no way obtrusive to our stay. Each associated greeted us warmly. The breakfast room was a little small but the hotel was near ccapacity. Very close to all of the attractions we wanted to see.

    « Really poor »

I had booked this room directly with the hotel because I would be getting in at 1am on Christmas day and checking out on the 26th and I wanted to make sure that was alright. The person I talked to said that was fine and said she would leave a note for a check in at that time and gave me the price and took my credit card information. Come 1am on Christmas when I arrive to check in there was no information about my early check in. The person at the front desk was rude and got on Facebook while I was standing there. I had no choice but to cut my trip short and just check out on Christmas day. He gave me the option to stay but for almost triple what I was told on the phone. Once I got to the room it had this strange maybe musty smell. The bathroom has long hairs stuck on the floor. Nasty. While the beds are comfortable and the free WiFi and breakfast are a nice touch the overall experience was subpar.

« Room not as described »

The room was described as having a queen bed. The bed was smaller than a queen and uncomfortable, and the room was smaller than described. The HVAC was not calibrated correctly. The breakfast was average as was the service. The only above average things were the fresh baked cookies and the location which was excellent.

Nice location near Patriots Point and Fort Moultrie/Fort Sumter National Park Visitor Center. Quiet Atmosphere, Clean rooms, Cable TV/ Internet, Hot & Cold Breakfast. Cheerful Staff, A reasonable price for all you get. Highly recommend this Hotel.

« Simple, basic hotel- nothing fancy, but a great place to stay »

My wife and I come to Charleston once a year at Christmastime. We've stayed at this hotel almost every year since 2008, and have never had a bad experience. It is clean, quiet, and the staff is courteous and helpful- I forgot my toothbrush this trip, and the night desk clerk comped me with a spare immediately. Like the title of the review states, it's nothing fancy, but if you are looking for basic accomidations, you won't be disappointed.

    « Okay Stay »

I stayed here Thanksgiving night with my family. It's a nice enough hotel. They had warm cookies out in the lobby, so that was nice. Check in was fine. The room was just okay. The décor was nice, but there were a few issues. The "up" button on the remote didn't work, which was frustrating. Also, the toilet continued to loudly "run" the entire time. We had to close the bathroom door to make it less noisy in the room. Also, there wasn't a toilet tissue holder in the bathroom. I know it's a little thing, but it's things like that that matter. Walking into the bathroom with the toilet tissue sitting on the counter was a bit off putting. I did see the free breakfast the next morning, it was sausage and gravy biscuits, waffles, cereal, danishes and coffee. I didn't eat anything, but I was told by a few family members it was good. All in all I probably wouldn't say here again, but it was an okay stay. Too many little issues to truly enjoy it.

    « Dirty! »

The room we got was very dirty! In fact, we think that is wasn't cleaned at all since the last guests. Seriously. We found socks and other belongings (not ours) on the floor. We booked and arrived very late at night and we just wanted to go to bed straight away. The bed sheets had stains (did not appear to be washed because of the the look and feel of it) and it had lots of hair on it. I could expect this from a $10 bungalow in Cambodia but not from a $120++ hotel room in the US. We were simply to tired to complain and to try to get a new room that late. We should have off course, but sometimes you just deal with it and you never ever return. So a very poor maintenance made this to a not so nice stopover...

« Sagging mattress v. partiers in the lobby »

Cheapest hotel that wasn't booked so I snagged it as have had good experiences in the past with Best Western. Appearance was nice and staff upon check in was friendly. But then sleeping was another story altogether. First night someone let their kids loose at midnight to run the hallways and holler in the lobby area. Second night some gaggle of party goers decided to continue the party in the lobby until 2AM. I don't think staff did enough to quiet them down for the sake of other guests trying to sleep. You get what you pay for as the old adage goes.

    « Our Worst Nightmare »

Let me first start off that the Staff of this Hotel was terrific. And the breakfast was good also. But the Hotel itself was not up to Best Western Standards. It needs updating, and rooms need to be cleaned a little better. The first room that we were given was 322. When we first walked in the door the room, it was freezing with frost on the window. We noticed there was a wining, screeching sound coming from the refrigerator. I called downstairs and I was told that we could change our room. The second room that we were given was 324 right next door from the first room. The refrigerator was a lot quieter so we were happy with that. Then I went to use the bathroom. When I sat down on the toilet seat it was so loose I almost ended up in the bathtub. So I tightened the screws underneath so it wouldn't happen again. But that wasn't all that was wrong with the bathroom. When you flushed the toilet it would run for a long time, and then would start making a gurgling sound. And did that numerous times though out the night. I proceeded to get ready for a nice dinner at Folly Beach. I reached down for the lotion that was provided for us to use, and noticed that it had been used by the previous Guest in the room. It was opened, one quarter used, and had grime on the bottle. Needless to say I didn't use it. And then the straw that broke the Camels back as they say happened next. We turned on the heat before we went to bed at 12:30am. The heater was so noisy that we couldn't sleep. We turned it down so it wouldn't go on as much throughout the night, but then it was too cold in the room. I sleep in flannel jammies, so I put on my sweater that I had on earlier over my jammies just to keep warm enough. I think that I finally went to sleep around 5 am. And had a 8 am wake up call. If you decide to stay at this hotel check everything in the room to make sure it works properly when you first arrive, so you can have the issue fixed. Will I stay at this Hotel again? Probably not. I have stayed at numerous Best Westerns across America, and this one was not up to the usual standards that Best Western strives on.

We have stayed here several times and each time it has been great. The staff are always friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and the location to downtown or the beach is perfect. Cannot beat the price for all that this hotel offers!

    « Needs some updating »

Overall, not the worst place we've stayed. The tub was stained, the carpet in our room was a mess. This was the first time that a Best Western would not let us check in an hour early. It was Thanksgiving and we had all day plans. Just wanted to unload the car instead of having to do it late at night!!!!

    « Better than expected »

In Charleston for a basketball tournament and stayed at this hotel for four nights. Staff were very friendly and the room was better than advertised (tv was bigger than the website said, and most rooms have mini fridge and microwave). Cost was less than half the rate for downtown, yet we were very close to everything. Bonus: we got to cross the beautiful cable stay bridge from downtown to Mt Pleasant at least twice a day.

I had a 3 days business trip in MT Pleasant and I book my room at the Best Western hotel for 2 nights I wasn't sure on well the stay was going to be until I sign into my room. After checking in to my room, Right away I knew then it was going to be a good stay by talking to the front desk receptionist. And seem how clean as nice my room look the bed felt great. The receptionist ask me how long I was in town so I told her 2 nights 3 days. she told me if I wanted to get a room I need to check available prices and get one more night stay because the next day the rooms there was going fast. I know I wanted to stay there one more night so I did as she said and book my room for another night. King size bed the first night and a Queen size bed the second night. They had 2 flat screen TV's I had both of them on for an hour one on the New and Weather channel and the other one on my favorite show. I slept so good the first night I knew the next night was going to be even better. I was supposed to check out the room the next day after my first night then sign back in the even when I got off work. and I did but I forgotten my clothes in the room and the receptionist told me not to worry she will get with the house keeper and I can pick them up during my check in that evening when i got off from work. the stay was great the breakfast was great as well plenty of difference breakfast items to chooses from I told my co-workers they missed out on a great hotel with breakfast and a good night sleep they looked tired and hunger the next day for work lol. I was so happy I had to rubber it in their face. Thanks again for all the support Best Western Staff for making my stay the greatest 2 days in a long time. I really needed that and I will be back next year during my business trip again in Jan or Feb 2016

Michelle and Tiffany were great, as were the rest of the staff. Hotel was nice and clean in all common areas. The room was extremely accommodating. Hot Breakfast was always stocked and plenty. Loved the location- easy to get to downtown historic Charleston which is where we needed to be for the weekend. Also close to shopping and food!!

« So close to down town, and so much value »

Like staying in a hotel that charges twice the rate, at least and only 5 to 10 min away from down town. Much more then a standard motel. Clean and with all the bells and whistles. Could see if you had 4 or more you would think it might seam a little small, but for me a single senior the whole place made me feel pampered. The biggest surprise was the breakfast was as good as any waffle house, there was scramble eggs, sausage, and waffles, plus any extras you could think of. The coffee was so good it prompted me ask the lady taking care of the breakfast area who was doing such a good job, about the coffee, Turns out it was machine that used coffee concentrate which no mater when you arrived you could have the freshest coffee. Just another thing that made my stay. So thanks to all the staff of this hotel.

« Great location, great place to stay! »

Was able to check in early as my room was ready, minutes from downtown Charleston, close to many types of shopping, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, antiques, thrifts, you name it. Beautiful bridge that the traffic always flows, a great experience!

Our room had a king bed, a pull-out sofa, TV, wifi, office desk, and a nice window with a nook. We only stayed one night, but had a nice relaxing time. We paid $140 on a Saturday. It was fair for our special occasion.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff helpful. We only stayed one night before going on a cruise. This motel offered park and ride for cruise travelers. They even offer to get you a ride to pier but we had already arranged our transportation. Very close to places to eat and shop.

« BW stay in Mt Pleasant SC »

We were attending a 55th college reunion. Have stayed at BW in past years/reunions. Had a great time. The Staff was great the room was clean and comfortable, especially the additional pillows, which I like because of hip, leg and knee problems. Being handicaped, both me and my wife, I liked being able to park very near the entrance. The breakfast was OK, the general stuff, I do not expect a $$$$$ style affair. The price was great for being close to Charleston in addition BW sent me a $20 off coupon. Other classmates staying in Charleston were paying $100-$200 per night compared to $80+- at BW. Only 15 minutes from downtown Charleston and The Citadel. At least 3 other couples and 1 single were at the BW with us. When we go to Charleston we will always stay at the BW. On our way home we stayed at the BW in Wytheville VA, off I77 no comparison, it was dingy, noise next door and upstairs, bath was not really nice, security was ?? and price was almost the same. We will stay at BW Mt Pleasant every time but no more BW in Wytheville VA. You get what you pay for, but why the difference within the same organization? I guess we will have to bite the bullet and try to stay at various BW's and see what happens, then check off the locations we will not revisit.

« A Great Place to go anywhere »

This was a perfect location and the service was well above and beyond the very reasonable price I enjoyed. The front desk staff and the breakfast lady were so sweet and welcoming. They did an exceptional job at making everyone feel at home and at rest.

« Very clean, super friendly staff »

A lot of the reviews I came across weren't that great, so I wasn't expecting much, however, we were very impressed. It was super clean and all of the staff members were so nce. We stayed for two days. Also, it was the first hotel breakfast that I've had that actually had eggs and sausage! I mean, it might have not been super delicious, but still pretty cool! Also, most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. It was actually SOFT, yet firm.

« Didn't expect much for the price, and was still a little disappointed. Febreeze commercial waiting to happen... »

While awaiting my parents to join me the following day at another hotel, I booked a room just for myself to attend a function nearby. I arrived in the evening (8ish), and then staff was fairly friendly and efficient. When I arrived at my room, there was an oddball character sitting in my hallway, babbling at me as I walked by....kinda creepy. The hallway and room had an overpowering musty smell that they had obviously tried to mask with some sort of deodorizer...but failed miserably. The room was hot when I arrived, but once I dialed the air conditioning down quite a few degrees, the smell seemed a bit better. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was dated but clean. At this price, I wasn't expecting to be amazed...I was just hoping for a shower and a good night's sleep in an odor free environment. Although it wasn't the hotel's fault, I was awakened by the sawing and hammering from the construction site next door at 7am...You'd think they'd have an agreement to keep the noise down until a reasonable hour so as not to disturb the guests. Honestly, if they'd Febreeze the moldy smell out of this place, it would be a nice little bargain. How the staff doesn't realize that the smell is offputting is beyond me. I have been in hotels in Florida that smelled like this from flooding on the bottom floor, but mine was a 3rd floor room.

    « Its Very Friendly »

From a practical respective the property is attractive from the outside ,is well located in a quiet location and has all the usual amenities expected of this chain. The rooms are fine and the property is clean. What sets it apart is the friendliness of the reception staff -particularly one night shift lady that we encountered -quite one of the best I've ever experienced.

    1
« First time to Charleston SC »

The front of the hotel is unkept with signs all over saying "lock it or lose it"! The front desk personnel were very rude.....they wouldn't even give me an "estimated time" as to when my room was going to be ready so I could plan when to come back. The room smelled very musty and stayed damp. Everything seemed clean EXCEPT the carpet....very stained and dirty looking. Our room was cleaned the following day except they didn't replace the towels (unbelievable) or clean the coffee maker (or refill coffee supplies). Breakfast was ok but cramped.

    3
    « No complaints »

We stayed here for 2 nights while on a road trip holiday and were quite satisfied with everything. The room was fine and the bathroom clean and tidy. Breakfast was not the best but it was the same as other BW properties we stayed at during the trip. Location is reasonable- a short drive to the ferry. Nothing outstanding about it but it was fine overall.

    4
    « Road Trip »

Nice property with clean and comfortable rooms. It's in a wierd location though and the staff isn't very knowledgable about the area. There are a lot more bars/restaurants in the area than it seems. A quick drive to downtown historic Charleston without the prices hotels of downtown.

    3
« Close to ports for your cruise »

Compared to the prices of other hotels in this area this place seems to be the best deal. If you are going to take a cruise I would suggest you Uber a van or taxi...hotel shuttle is a little high for a 10 minute ride.

« Great Value and Close to Everything at Patriot's Point »

We asked for a room on the top floor with a king sized bed and my requests were met. The furnishings were relatively new and the room included a refrigerator and a microwave. It was a short drive to the French Quarter. There were many restaurants close to the hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.

    « Caught Them Painting »

Hotel is within a half mile of the U.S.S. Yorktown as well as the Fort Sumter Cruise Line. The entire first floor of the hotel was closed off due to painting. Otherwise, the room was clean, and cool. (Room's air conditioner was turned off before my arrival). The facility was noise free. Hotel offers a good continental breakfast.

« Wish I Had Stayed Somewhere Else »

The desk staff at check in were awesome. We got to our room and everything felt damp, and there was a moldy/mildew smell. My husband ended up being sick from the mold. One day we left for the day, acknowledged the cleaning staff on the floor, returned to an unserviced room. The front desk got me clean towels, but that was all that could be done at that time. Bed was very uncomfortable.

« Clean and Friendly Staff »

This was our second stay at this location. It was clean and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Typical continental breakfast items. The Wi-Fi in the room was not great on our smart phones. It was a quick drive over to Charleston and close to many great restaurants and the beach. I would return.
