Pleasant and clean hotel. Breakfast was adequate. Front desk and breakfast staff was aweome. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great location to campus and town. Would stay again. Was there for Stout Family weekend. Enjoyed the town. Campus was really nice.
The rooms were clean and large. We got a king bed and were surprised to see a sofa in the room. The sofa was great!! Breakfast was good with a nice variety of hot and cold items. The staff was helpful and friendly. I have stayed here several times and definitely would recommend.
Great stay at this hotel last night. Very comfortable beds, great nights sleep! There was a little bit of road noise, but it did not keep me awake. If you are a light sleeper, maybe ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was adequate, but there was no meat served. The elevator here is very small, a little bit difficult maneuvering the luggage cart in and out of the elevator. For the business traveler, a spacious work desk and free internet access are included in all guest rooms. Each room provides a convenient in-room mini fridge that is ideal for drinks and snacks. also have an in-house fitness room, which we didn't use. There might be a pool, but we didn't use that either. Overall, highly recommend this hotel. Perkins restaurant is right next-door. We ate there and it was good. Keurig coffee makers in the room very convenient. Bathroom was spacious, plenty of room on the vanity for all your stuff. Everything was very clean.
This hotel is greatly in need of an update. The towels were scratchy and the bathroom amenities had been used by a previous guest. We barely got enough shampoo out of the bottle for one wash. The grout in the bathroom floor tiles was chipping and loose. Breakfast was mediocre and the cold juice machine was broken. Our stay here was disappointing.
My experience at this hotel was enjoyable. Hotel staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was very nice as well.
Comfortable beds, soft towels. Good breakfast that was tasty and well stocked. Only a short walk to Perkins for a great dinner.
I was very impressed with the friendly staff and thought the room was clean and comfortable. Good selection on the continental breakfast. Elevator was a bit small though. It was hard not to be claustrophobic when riding with other guests and luggage.
Driving through the area we just stopped in to see if they had any rooms available, and we were able to get a Queen Room! The room was clean with a great a/c! The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were small and reminded me of a throw pillow...they weren't that comfortable. The shower temperature was good with decent pressure. The breakfast buffet was pretty good!
Many problems with the block. Folks being told misinformation when calling to book under the block. Room not clean at check in . No help to keep the breakfast items stocked. Empty milk, biscuits, eggs, waffle batter. Was locked out of room before the noon check out time.
In town for a graduation party. The rooms are nice, pool area looked good, smaller fitness center. I thought rooms were clean. My only complaint was we were put on the same floor as a softball team. You could hear kids running up and down the halls, yelling and screaming in the early morning and late at night.
Decided to visit my niece and stayed at BW in town. It was such a great experience and very family friendly. The breakfasts were excellent and the kids had so much in the pool and with the hot tub. I enjoyed the workout room which was simple but had the essentials. Room was clean and staff was kind and competent.
We stay here often. Continental breakfast is nice, and has good hours. Pool and hot tub are open later hours which works well when getting in a little later. Always very clean. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Always enjoy our stay.
Our decision to stay at this hotel was convenience after spending time at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. The location is near numerous restaurants and within walking distance to a Perkins. The check in and out were seamless with no problems. The front staff were a pleasure to work with. The rooms were spacious, clean and well kept. Breakfast consisted of hot and cold items and there was plenty of seating. The breakfast staff was pleasant and cheerful. A nice way to start the day. If we are in the area again, we will stay again.
Would not recommend.. very unprofessional employees, hot water was a hit or miss, dryer broken for 5 months.. depending on whose working you might have a breakfast, internet was in and out all the time.
They knowingly gave us a room that had a non-functioning AC system. After unpacking and waiting long enough to determine AC problem, my wife went to front desk. Yes, they admitted it didn't work. We were given keys and asked to check another room. After confirming AC worked in that room, we had to move all our stuff to it. Then we found out they have disabled everything on the TVs except for the limited cable system. No ability to hook up Roku or ANY other type of input. They did suggest we park our vehicle in front of our motel window so we could keep an eye on it overnight. After I found out they knowingly tried renting a room with no AC and have disabled TVs, I figured I better take their advice and keep my vehicle close. Might be a high crime area. Now I wonder if we need to take turns guarding the car overnight.
Stay away. Bad breakfast. Gross rooms. Blood stained sheets. We stayed In A king suite. Even the shower curtain didn't work. The entire bathroom flooded every time we showered due to it being 12 inches too short. The staff just chickened and said, “ya we get that a lot”
The staff where more than happy to help everyone, very approachable. knowledgeable, and friendly. The kids had no complaints about the pool area, though they did run out of towels (but the staff seemed very busy). The eggs were not that great, but the rest of the breakfast was good. My only real complaint was the bed was very uncomfortable.
We stayed for one night as we were attending a funeral in the area. After a day of driving, I was happy with the comfort of the bed and pillows. The location is close to everything and the hotel was quiet. We didn't have any issues and no complaints.
We were recommended this hotel by our family, who have used the pool for swim days. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was one of the cleanest I've ever stayed at! Lots of breakfast choices- sweet treats including toppings for yogurt, oatmeal, and waffles; cereal, eggs, sausages, juice, coffee, hot chocolate and more! Rented the community room to write thank you's after family event- kids swam all day. Any issues that came up were swiftly handled by staff. Would highly recommend!
The room that I was given was right on the first floor, which was great. The complementary toiletries that were in the bathroom were from an amazing aromatherapy line. Good channel selections on the cable package. The only issue was that there were people, who weren't guests of the hotel, in the hot tub/pool room drinking alcohol and vaping and being loud/disruptive.
very clean, great breakfast, and room close for ageing person couldn't walk far. tube area clean no mold build up on anything, great handy-cap parking, cart to bring in luggage. front desk very helpful, from the time we got there till we left. also breakfast person made sure there was plenty right up till 10 am closing.
Location was great for an event we were attending. Staff was adequate not overly friendly but not rude either. Pool was small and there were no pool towels but when we asked the front desk for them they brought some promptly. Needed to use the sofa bed and there was no bedding for it in the room so another trip to the front desk. Breakfast was warm and there was a nice selection. It was well stocked and kept clean. Mattress was very worn and uncomfortable. It was an average stay but I would probably choose a different hotel next time we were in the area.
I had a very nice stay here. Morning and early afternoon staff were wonderful. Corinne was extremely kind in allowing me to check in early. The exercise room and pool were great. Complimentary breakfast was good as well.
This place is ok. A little dated and needs some work. But quiet and good location. Pool is small but decent. The breakfast is smaller in choices but does have a variety of items. Our room was large but had 2/5 lights not working in bathroom and one bed had a frame that was falling apart.
The staff was superb! Extremely friendly, courteous, polite and professional! Swimming pool was very enjoyable and relaxing-grand kids had a blast! The military discount was extremely appreciated-the first motel that we have visited that has offered one. We will be back.
Rooms are dated and we found leftover food scraps in the guest refrigerator. Also it was quite noisy during the evening. Lots of compressor-type noise. Probably won't stay here again. Price was too high for the room.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable. Room was quiet, unless there were people in the hall, then it was very noisy. Some of the staff were very welcoming, others seemed indifferent. Shower was poorly set up, leaked water all over the floor
very clean, a very well manicured lawn; easy on and off access to the Interstate; checking in and out it was easy as pie; easy access to places to eat or get coffee; Wal-Mart was just down the street.
My experience with Best Western is 99% good. However, my stay at this location was disappointing. Luke warm shower, mattress's needed to be replaced, the towels were frayed and lightly discolored. I reached out to the manager, Ms. Sather, and it was an excercise in futility. I called the hotel and was able to speak with her, almost a week later and after she would not retun my emai, and she never apologized and kept making excuses about how busy she was, on & on. I barley got a word in! Again, Best Western does a great job, but this property is in need of some training, etc...
My husband and I, along with my daughter's boyfriend, came for the weekend to visit my daughter who attends UW Stout. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel was above expectations. Great value!
We were greeted quickly and cheerfully. The room was nice. In the morning we had no hot water. I talked with the lady at the desk who told me they had some problems but it should have been fixed. She said she would contact the manager. A few minutes later she called our room and said they flipped a few switches and should have hot water. We did. Thank you very much.
It was a short stay, just a night, but I was treated like a king and will return because of this with family and friends. The room was comfortable and quiet, bed was comfortable, it was just an overall great experience.
We chose the Best Western Plus in Menomonie for this stay because they had their pool open while other places did not. Glad we made the choice because the hotel was perfect for our needs. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Room was clean and well stocked. We miss the breakfast buffet but standard procedure these days. Very close (walking distance) to anything we needed. We will be back.
Hotel is 1 block from the Junction Trail which connects to the Red Cedar River Trail and the Loggers Loop. It was clean and our suite was spacious. A few problems. No frig in our room. They staff quickly brought one. Smoke alarm battery started alarming in the middle of the night. Maintenance fixed it the next day. Went to look at the pool area. Plant in the pool was almost dead from lack of water. This place needs some quality control monitoring otherwise it would be a great place.
We were in Menomonie to move my boyfriend's son into UW Stout, so wanted to find somewhere with a pool to spend the night. This place is great! Clean and quiet. Our room was gigantic! There was a TV in both the living area and the bedroom. There was a microwave and fridge in the wet bar area. So spacious and clean. I chose this hotel because I wanted somewhere with a hot tub, but it was closed due to Covid which is understandable. They gave us bagged to-go breakfast that included a piece of fruit, granola bar, mini muffin, bottle of water and a mint. They do offer a continental breakfast when there isn't a pandemic. We would definitely stay here again!
I'm always pleased with my stays at this hotel. It's always clean and comfortable and the front desk is always kind and helpful! They have a good variety of rooms and a nice swimming pool. Lots of restaurants near by.
We needed a quick night to sleep as we were relocating our daughter home from college. They hosted us with a great rate, excellent room, wonderful breakfast, and kindness. The workout facility was good and the room was very clean. It was nice when we showed up late that we could quickly and effortlessly get into our room for a comfortable night sleep. What I can tell you is that they have a remarkable continental breakfast. It was full with so many items: hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, and french toast as well as a "cereal tree" filled with the cereal we all grew up with. They really put time and attention into making this breakfast nice! Thank you to the team that served us.
This hotel is awesome! The rooms are huge almost like a 1 bedroom apartment. It has a nice pool and hot tub and a big continental breakfast! It was fast to check in and I didn't even have to check out with the express check out.
Always clean, always well kept. The breakfast area is large, roomy, and they offer a huge variety of breakfast items, and it's kept clean and very well maintained. Great place to stay! Staff was friendly and helpful!
Nice home away from home. We stayed in a suite and had plenty of room and space for a long weekend. The small wet bar was a nice touch for the extended period of time we were there. Some dishes and glasses would compliment the "kitchenette" nicely but we didnt miss it.
Hotel should not be considered by any teams/groups. They make it pretty clear you aren't welcome. Confrontational staff. Room hvac/fan did not run (for white noise) and could not get temperature to desired level; wanted 68, got 72.
Hotel was nice but not all of the staff. The night manager was very rude and very confrontational. Tried to ask questions and was treated terrible by him. Always had good experiences in the past at this hotel. If this is new ownership or new management this is a sinking ship. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Will suggest others to stay elsewhere & will never stay there again.
Accommodations wonderful. Breakfast was not what the reviews state from earlier this year. When we asked where the good food was, one of the staff told us she doesn't make the menu and can only service what management tells her to. Ownership changed over about 4-5 months ago and the breakfast reviews prior to that were good - new management and cheaper breakfast options. Front desk associates and night manager rude. I will not return.
Excellent and very clean hotel! Building was modern, staff was friendly and the location was perfect at the north end of town and right off the interstate. I wasn't expecting a lot for what I paid, but I'm glad I chose this hotel. I have zero complaints. Thank you!
Staff was friendly. Clean. No traffic noise. Had wet towels in our room. We were on our way to the pool area so we just brought back some dry ones. Hot tub was not hot..luke warm at best. Pool was freezing. Mentioned it next day at front desk and was told they had just been informed about some other issues and looking at closing the pool area. Question that came to mind is how often do you check your temperature and water.
There are not many hotels to pick from in Menomonie. I prefer a place with a hot tub and only allow hotel guests access. From booking the room to check out, everything was top notch! Clean, friendly, ok breakfast selection, hot shower, no interstate noise and even at 11 when the pool was open but out of towels I was able to find a worker who was very quick to bring new ones to the pool. Pool open 10-midnight for adults.
That's really all I care about. It's conveniently next to the interstate but no noise at all. Comfy beds. Proper TV in the room. Fitness center was well put together, there were lots of natural light, good equipment, hooks on walls to hang your stuff on (which is not always the case). Not expensive either.
Stopped here on our way through after long travel day. Front desk staff so friendly. Beds are comfortable. Quiet...no I 94 noise. Showers with strong stream. Very clean rooms and common area. Breakfast is plentiful with great variety. Would definitely stay here again!
Room was great! But the breakfast bar was lacking. No fruit and was out of orange juice. Was told that their supplies did not arrive. There was a grocery store 2 blocks away. We had a 2room suite and were VERY comfortable with the bed.
Room was quiet, beds were fine, and front desk lady was very friendly. Showers were warm. Great place for a family stay with pool if desired and local restaurants being close. Also hotel is close to highway and easy to find.
This was my third stay for our yearly family reunion. The decor is updated, beds extremely comfortable and housekeeping is excellent. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety including vegan options. Staff is great. Please try them out, you won't be sorry.
Great value for a great stay. Rooms were nice and clean while the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was hot, with eggs, sausage, waffles one day and omelets, ham and potatoes the next. Nice to have variety in just the 2 days we stayed. All the staff was polite and helpful. The pool hours to midnight were great, nice to get a swim in after a long day. Nice little fountain to sit around in front of the hotel. Just overall great experience at a great price. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Thank you for a great stay.
So much excitement, anticipation and hope that everything will be beautiful. It was like a slap in the face checking in with a front desk associate who was so frumpy, grumpy and uncaring. The hotel was full of employees doing only what they had to just to get through the shift. No good mornings, hellos, hey how are doing, do you need anything today?
Was treated Great on Check in and all my questions where answered. The room was very clean and had nice décor The breakfast was earlier then other places which helped me get an earlier start If in the area I will make sure I stay there again
Quick check in. Couldn't sleep due to the noise in the hallway. Woken up by the sun, curtains don't close. Hot breakfast and clean. Overall good experience. I'll be staying here again if I past by here again.
My wife and I decided to stay here on our way to Montana and this was a great stopover. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. We paid a fair price for our room. The room itself was big and spacious and clean. There were certainly no issues at all. The hotel is easily accessible from I-94 at Exit 41. We would definitely stay here again.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast was typical for a Best Western and the pool area was small, but clean. The front desk attendant was friendly and efficient. However, we were awakened repeatedly during the night by the next room's air conditioning unit. The units in are in a closet right next to the bed and are extremely loud, so we purposely turned ours off for the night. The guest in the next room didn't and so every time his air conditioning kicked in, we woke up. It made for a miserable night. If you are at all sensitive to noises or like a quiet night's sleep, bring ear plugs or choose a different hotel.
The king bed and pillows were so comfy. Check-in was quick and easy. Got the first floor which we requested. Breakfast was great. Lots to choose from. Check out just as quick. Would definitely stay next year.1
We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus in Menomonie. The front desk staff were all very friendly and professional. The rooms were a nice size and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was tasty, including ham, omelettes, fresh blueberries, and strawberry sauce with slice strawberries. The hotel was close to everything we wanted to do from bowling, to Stoog's for Friday night Fish Fry and Menomonie Family Restaurant for a delicious home cooked breakfast.
This place is so clean and nice.Staff was great. They had a really Nice breakfast selection.Pool and hot tub were very nice and clean as well.Wish more hotels were this nice.I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Clean facility, breakfast with lots of seating, rooms were nice. The color choices were my favorite, the pool and hot tub were great as well. We stayed for a conference and we definately will be staying her next year!
We regularly visit Menomonie and pretty much every time we do, we stay here. Now this property has changed several times...as it previously was a Country Inn and Suites. Once Best Western took over the property, it got a much needed "makeover" of the rooms, which was definitely a plus. However, it seems management has changed since our last visit...and with that change left the "family feel" this place once had. Honestly, I am not complaining at all. However, something felt a bit different. We regularly chose this location because it is one of the only hotels with a pool...however we were a bit bummed to learn when we got there, that the hot tub was not working....and the free breakfast we looked forward to seemed very "one dimensional", as it used to offer a variety of items for our family (we are vegetarian). However it seemed the yogurt options disappeared and the only fruit available were apples. Also, it seemed that they ran out of milk which made it hard to enjoy the cereal options they had. My kids definitely didn't complain but I know how it was in the past and was a bit bummed that this part of the hotel seemed to have slipped a bit. The staff seemed to be very lovely, as they granted a late check out the day we left and did clean our room upon request both of which we were very grateful for. And Karen, who was working in the breakfast area one morning was wonderful....she chatted with us and made us feel totally welcome! It's people like Karen who make the place feel like home, which is the main reason we regularly book at this property in the first place... We did notice that they recently opened up a hotel near the property that was newer and also offers a pool and free breakfast. So I'm not sure if the competition has hurt them or what....again, not complaining at all but that "family feel" has seemed to dissolve a bit since our last visit.. We had a fine time, and the hotel served its purpose....however something seemed a bit off...enough to entertain other options next time we are in town.
My family and I really enjoy our stay at this Best Western Plus Inn & Suites! Very clean, excellent service from the staff that actually smiles!!! The rooms are always clean, quiet and look very nice. The Lobby is really nice with a fireplace, coffee, tea, lemon water, snacks, an ATM, comfortable seating and tables. The pool and hot tub area is beautiful and love the relaxing environment it offers!! The breakfast area is also excellent and offers a variety of great breakfast options, and if you get Karen working in there, you're in for a treat, she's amazing!!
Amazing breakfast menu. Room and pool very clean and comfortable. Connecting to internet was a bit frustrating with the continual pop-ups for safe connection but that could have been my phone. Will plan to stay in this hotel every time I'm in the area.
During my stay not only did my key card get turned off early and getting a new key that worked so I could get back in my room took me 7 trips back and forth to the desk which is crazy after 2 or 3 trips they should hae offered to come with me to try to open it. I found out after my stay that the staff reported to the company paying for the room that I had alcohol in the room. I am a recovering alcoholic and I take my recovery seriously and that was an outright lie but of course the company believes the hotel. I believe this was intentional and done because they were upset about the room key situation. So because the hotel wanted to "get me" they lied about my sobriety which is unfair and really upsets me.
I frequently travel with high school students and this Best Western is by far our go to when staying in the Menomonie area. The rooms are nice, the breakfast is great, the staff is friendly and very easy to work with. The kids love the free cookies in the lobby!
We were in Menomonie because our brother died suddenly. Staff was very caring and compassionate giving us a room upgrade and top floor knowing we were exhausted. They even booked our rooms for the next weekend for the funeral and reminded us to ask for the bereavement rate when we check in.
I recently stayed one night at the Best Western Menomonie on a Friday night for a quick weekend getaway. I have a cousin attending UW-Stout, so I decided to come up and visit her and go to their football game with her on Saturday. I had an excellent overnight stay, and I would definitely return on future trips to the area. I arrived to check-in by about 3:45 on Friday afternoon. This was about a 4-hour drive from my home, so it was nice to have a room waiting for me so that I could relax for a while! The desk clerk was friendly and personable, and she went over all pertinent information like the amenities and how to get to the room. I also got a nice surprise in that my rate went way down from what they quoted me at reservation! When I called to reserve the room about 2 months before I made the trip, they quoted me $142 + tax for the 1 night, which I thought was kind of steep but I took it anyway. I was delighted to hear that it was mistakenly put in as a special event weekend, and that was not the case, so my rate went down to $87 + tax, which saved me significant money! After tax and everything, I paid about $98, which is not bad at all for a Friday night in a decent hotel! The check-in process was very quick here. I had a standard room with king bed on the 3rd floor, and I was far to one end of the floor, so it was nice and quiet! I liked the location of this hotel being a few blocks from the main drag on a quieter street. My room was very nice, and everything was in very good shape. The room was cleaned well, and I enjoyed the variety of TV stations available. The bathroom was very clean, and they provided some nice toiletries like soap, shampoo, and lotion. My bed was very comfortable also, and I slept very soundly. I relaxed in the room for a while before meeting up with my cousin at UW-Stout and spending some time with her in the evening. It was an easy 5-10 minute drive to campus, and this entire area is beautiful! I returned to the hotel later on but with enough time to try out the indoor pool and whirlpool. It was rather crowded down there, and the hotel seemed full or close to it, but I enjoyed relaxing in the whirlpool! The pool was a bit cool for my taste, but I enjoyed getting in a little swim, too. They were out of pool towels when I got down there, but these were quickly replenished only a few minutes later. I woke up feeling rested on Saturday morning, and I went down to breakfast by about 8:15. It was not super crowded yet, and they do serve breakfast until 10:30 on weekends which is pretty late! The breakfast was the one thing that I found to be just OK. The hot items were not particularly appetizing to me, and I did not care for the breakfast potatoes. However, I enjoyed the prepared oatmeal with various toppings. I didn't eat a super large breakfast because I was meeting back up with my cousin for an early lunch before the football game. I went back to the pool and whirlpool for a while after breakfast, and it was again pretty crowded, but I still enjoyed my time there. It was nice that checkout is not until Noon here, as that gave me some extra time in the morning. It was nice getting to do some reading before I had to vacate the room! I was checking out by about 11:30, and the morning clerk was also friendly and asked how everything was with my stay. I was pleased to say that I enjoyed my stay very much! The cookies and citrus water out at the front desk were a nice touch, and I enjoyed the free USA Today newspaper offered, too. I would return to and recommend this Best Western, and I usually have a good experience at Best Western properties! I enjoyed getting more time with my cousin and watching the football game together before heading back home. I had an excellent stay at the Menomonie Best Western, and this would be a great choice for anyone planning a visit to the area!
This was a great place to stay. The place was very clean. The room was very nice and big. We love staying at Best Western Plus's because you know what you get and they go the extra mile. Would go back.
went on a 3 night trip with a friend stayed at 3 different places (one was because it was the only place around) my friend picked the first place - it cost more and wasn't half as good as the Best Western!
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions, we we have always been pleased. The room was clean, spacious, and well appointed. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was good. It is close to the interstate and has ample parking.
We arrived late and were welcomed by a very hepful young man who had a first floor room we could use. The TV didn't work and he came to fix it immediately. In the morning, the breakfast area was well-stocked and cared for as well as being very clean.
Day 23 of our travels brought us to this hotel. I wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it was. Most of the Best Western Plus hotels we have stayed at have been low end service. But this one beat some of the higher end chains. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the typical hotel breakfast but the cereal was named brand and not generic. Sorry, that makes a difference in taste to me. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is definitely a great place to stay. Again, seasoned traveler and I would stay here again.
Great, clean, hotel. The staff is awesome! Casey Hopkins the general manager has trained her staff well. Right off the highway and a lot of food, shopping, and bar options around the area in walking distance.
Ease of access on and off interstate. Close to recreation trail/paths to shake out the travel legs and see somewhere new. Fantastic selection for breakfast and very friendly staff. Thank you very much Best Western Menomonie
Great hotel, would stay again if ever back in the area. Clean rooms, nicely furnished with comfortable beds. Staff were all friendly and professional. I had no complaints about any part of my stay and would recommend
My wife and I just completed a four week trip of the western states and stayed at 11 Best Western using Reward Points accumulated prior to retirement. While we had many positive experiences at the BW locations, the stay at Menomonie was the best of them all. My check in experience with Krista was absolutely great. She recognized my Rewards status and made me feel extremely welcome!!! In addition, she was extremely efficient in her check in processes. If I was looking for a customer service representative, she would be at the top of my list. Thanks so much in making the end of our journey so enjoyable.
We have stayed here at least 2 times per year during our daughters 4 years attending UW-Stout. In have used the exercise equipment and swimming pool on occasion. The staff were very helpful to my mother at our recent stay.
We were in town for Stout graduation and we were lucky enough to pick this hotel!! Casey, the general manager was excellent. We were quite a group so we used the hotel lobby to visit. Fresh baked cookies, coffee and lemon water were available 24 hours a day. It's clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. Lots of choices for breakfast too. If we are ever in town again, would definitely stay here!!
We were very happy by the amenities this hotel provided. The lobby is clean and well-decorated with free coffee bar and lemon-water available all day. The rooms were very clean, updated and spacious. The pool and hot tub were in good condition and clean. An ample selection of choices was provided for breakfast. If you are have dietary restrictions due to a health condition, like my wife (celiac and dairy-free), the breakfast selections will not meet your needs. However, my wife always plans ahead to meet her dietary needs. If we ever need to stay in Menomonie again, we'll stay at this Best Western.
I was staying there for a mini sewing retreat and the hotel was very helpful with the use of a small conference room and extra table. We had a king suite room that was great for our purposes and the price was excellent.
The room was very clean, comfortable and the heated pool/jacuzzi awesome!!! The breakfast looked great and the staff so helpful - even provided plates/cutlery for in room meals when asked. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
I originally had a reservation at the Hampton Inn in Menomonie, WI and when I called to confirm and get the price, I was told $147 plus tax, I passed and called the Best Western. The place is as nice or nicer than any Hampton Inn that I have ever stayed at and it was only a bit over $100 per night. The rooms are large, clean, and nice. I will be back!!!
I stayed here for 3 nights this last week. I really enjoyed my stay. There are some good places to eat not to far away. The only thing that could be improved was the pillows. I just couldn't find one that was comfortable to me. My roommate said the same thing.
This is a very nice Hotel. I joined the Best Western Rewards program recently. BW honored my rewards level from another hotel chain and gave the same level with Best Western. When I arrived at the BW plus in Menomonei, they gave me a room upgrade. It was a very nice room. Thanks BW for this excellent service.
We went to see my son again. Hotel has always been clean and has a friendly staff. Wish we could stay there for my sons graduation but unable to since i was late booking. This is my #1 hotel and always will be.
Will definitely go there again if in the area. I travel a lot, and clearly a 5 star stay and worth the value. The staff was one of the best I've ever had. Awesome complimentary breakfast as well, try making your own waffles. Yum!
New Year's Eve in the hotel business can go so many ways! Hyper kids in the pool way past their bedtime and LOUD...The stumbling couple and midnight with their champagne kisses shouting, "I love you so much..." turning heads in the lobby... And then, all the rest of us who are on business. No matter what your stay, the Best Western Plus in Menomonie was fabulous. Rooms clean and ready. Front desk service - Sublime. Breakfast offerings...a plenty...cozy lobby fireplace for the frigid -16 degrees weather...two thumbs up! This is a wonderfully managed hotel, well staffed and ready to serve.
Excellent stay. This is my second stay here for the Christmas holiday season to visit family. The rooms, service, staff, food, and facility was excellent. For a community this size, I appreciate the extra effort made to make my stay comfortable. I will be back again next year.
This property is well maintained and has an excellent staff. They keep the rooms in top notch condition and the common areas are always neat and clean. Seems as if someone is always moping the areas outside the breakfast room. Everyone we spoke with had a positive attitude and tried to make sure everyone enjoyed their stay. I will definitely stay at this property again.
Driving across the country, got stuck in a huge traffic jam, jumped off the interstate and saw the BW. Got checked in quickly and easily. After a good shower and good night's sleep felt much better. Breakfast was hot and fresh, not outstanding but still better than most continental spreads
We had a very pleasant stay. The staff could not have been more helpful! Chase, especially, offered to move a more comfortable chair to the breakfast room, bake cookies, drop everything to heat water and make fresh coffee, anything to make our stay more comfortable. All the staff we met were outstandingly friendly, thoughtful, pleasant about any request & respectful. We will never stay anywhere else in Menomonie.
This hotel was outstanding. Everything is new and the decor is fresh and soothing. The staff was welcoming and pays attention to detail, including having my extra blanket ready for me when I checked in. A good cafe and grocery are located within walking distance.I only stay at BW properties, and this one by far exceeded my expectation. My only fault with my room was the LED ceiling light which stays on (night-light mode... and you cannot disable it...I tried.) thus not keeping the room dark.I am not nocturnal, so this was very annoying! Other than that, I will happily return again. Great job BW!
Good hotel and friendly caring services. For where this hotel is located, the cost is a little higher than would be expected, but within a reasonable range. Clean and warm rooms, with free wifi that was easy to connect to.
The motel staff is friendly and helpful. They alway make us feel like we're at home. The breakfast is very good. They have a fitness center, pool and hot tub also. And the cookie jar has delicious chocolate chip cookies!.
Stayed a few nights recently for work in the area. There are really no upscale hotels in the area, so this seems to be the nicest. I have stayed at this location before it was a Best Western. The rooms are functional if a bit dated, but the HVAC functioned and the bed was comfy, and it was clean. The only real issue is you can hear every footstep and toilet flush from the room above, so I would book a top floor if possible. Breakfast was ok, as expected. Hotel staff were nice. Mostly fast food within walking distance, but Stoudt's Ale House is pretty good and only a few minute walk. Curious to see what will happen as a Hampton Inn is coming very soon, a block away.
I was very happy with my stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool area was nice with a good size hot tub. They have a convenient work out room and I believe I could have used a nearby workout room as well but happy with the eliptical in the hotel workout room. The hot breakfast had plenty of choices. Very convenient location just off of I94 and a short drive to the campus of UW Stout which was the reason for my visit. I recommend the Stout Ale House for a nearby restaurant with great food, service and specials.
The hotel is clean, modern, and nicely appointed. However, they've missed on a few of the details. When I checked in, I didn't see a luggage cart. After I made two trips to my room, I located them tucked in an alcove with an ice machine completely out of sight of the main desk. I was disappointed that the cookie jar at the registration desk was empty. Also, the desk clerk looked confused when I asked him for a cup to get some water from the refreshing lemon ice water located right next to him. When I arrived at the room, one of the queen beds looked as if somebody had rolled all over it. It made me wonder whether the sheets had been changed. I chose the other bed. Overall, it was a very nice hotel and I would stay here again.
The rooms are clean, modern and well-appointed. The beds are very comfortable. The main floor has a nice lounge with fireplace and a breakfast/dining area. The staff are friendly and helpful. The power went out one morning which placed the indoor pool out of service for the duration of our stay. My kids were bummed out. Knowing this, management gave us a discounted rate without asking. That's great customer service and I will be a returning patron.
Came to town to tour the college campus & just needed a place to stay overnight. This hotel was excellent for location, room decor, fitness center access, free tasty breakfast buffet. Near highway, campus, hiking trail, movie theater, WalMart, dining. Unfortunately did not have time to use the pool or hot tub.
Nice for Menomonie. Recommend over other hotels in area. We have stayed at them as well since our child was in college. It appears very similar to Country Inn & Suites. Nice, we will likely return and use again.
I took my children to the college my husband and I met at and stayed at this Best Western for the two nights of reminiscing and fun. I was happy to spend time in the lobby and breakfast room when kids were sleeping and our group had a nice evening in the meeting room to eat and talk and just hang out! Nice hotel, great staff!
The stay was very good; clean rooms; good breakfast, good fitness center and amenities. Close to the highway with places to eat close by; all also within walking distance. Hotel did let me check in early to do some computer work.
We stayed two nights for a wedding. The hotel lobby was clean and inviting, with free cookies at the main desk. We were given our choice of a room on the first or second floor. Our room was well equipped, clean, and quiet. The mattress on the bed was divine. There was a self-service laundry room on our floor. The breakfast area served a very nice variety of foods, including make-your-own Belgian waffles, and the hot selections were different (and hot!) both mornings. The exercise room was well maintained and in working order. The surrounding neighborhood was safe and walkable. The only downside was the young lady who checked us in. She did not greet us, never made eye contact, only spoke when absolutely necessary ( "Name", "Drivers License", "Sign") and recited a list of instructions at us so quickly I didn't understand any of it (think of the announcer at the end of a car commercial who speed-talks the disclaimers). While this contact only lasted about 5 minutes, it was our first impression of the hotel, a crucial time to set the guests' perception of the facility in one direction or another.
One of the better places we've stayed. Rooms were ready when we arrived, the staff was helpful and friendly, rooms were clean, spacious, and very quiet at night. It was located close to the wedding we were up there for so there wasn't much driving for us. Would highly recommend this Best Western.
We have stayed here many times even before it was Best Western. We like the suite as it has a sitting room. Conveniently located to 94 and downtown Menomonie. It is quiet. It is clean. I like the breakfast. We like the pool and spa but didn't use it this time so don't know if it has changed. Only complaint was they want you to reuse towels but have no where to hang them except two bathrobe hooks behind door. I won't reuse a wet towel.
Clean and nicely updated rooms and lobby. Noisy guests down the hall. Inattentive staff at lobby front desk when checking in. Breakfast was just fair. Good location, and easy to find. Nice decor and felt clean.
Great place close to home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very clean and friendly place to stay. employees seem to enjoy working here. I had a nice chat with maintenance man while he was checking things in pool area
Everything went perfectly at this hotel. The bed was comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was very good - better than many others. This will be my go-to hotel for any stay in the area of Menomonie, WI.
This is the perfect place to relax after a grueling day at work in medium-sized cities. Very comfortable beds, spacious room, complete amenities, strategic location and personable employees. Parking area is wide and easy access to major highways.
Best Western Plus Menomonie is a nice hotel. Rooms are good sized and have the equipment you need (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker etc.). There is a small fitness room and a nice pool, if you need more you can use the fitness center next to the hotel. Only downside is the breakfast which is limited in choices (maybe I am spoiled from staying at hotels in Europe ;-) ). So, Best Western Plus in Menomonie can for sure be recommended if you are looking for a place to stay (even go workout) in Menomonie.
This hotel has the best Wi-Fi I've encountered in my travels. The exercise facility was well appointed had two treadmills, dumbbells, resistance bands, etc. The room was very clean, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was good standard hotel fare.
I travel a lot and stay at various hotels. I found staying at Best Western Plus to be one of my best experiences. I slept so well and woke up refreshed and ready to tackle the day. The breakfast was awesome and I had a many items to choose from and it was really good. The breakfast room felt very welcoming and comfortable.
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They evening offered us plates and utensils when they saw that we had our food delivered from a local restaurant. The rooms were clean and the pool area was kept very neat as well.
Pros: - Good Location - Clean - Cookies & Paper in Lobby - Fridge & Mic in Room - Fast Internet - Nice Hi-Def TV - Large Bathroom - Breakfast Better than Average Cons: - Lighting Very Sparse & Dim in Room - Tiny Bathroom Vanity Counter - Workspace Chair Wouldn't Rise (had to stack a couple of pillows on it to work) Overall, a pretty decent place. Would definitely stay again.
This is a very nice place to stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best that my husband and I had during our 4 week vacation traveling from the east to the west and back again. We would definitely stay at this Best Western if we traveled west again.
We stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding. The staff were very friendly at check-in and check-out. The price for the room was a bit expensive for a college town hotel. I'm sure a summer weekend has something to do with it. Only improvement I would suggest is for the free breakfast. By 8:00 many items were out and nothing was replaced.
Hotel was nothing special, but was decent and easy to find from the highway. Internet was a bit spotty, and be prepared for limited cell reception in the area (not the hotel's fault - this seems to be the whole town). Skip the breakfast - there's a Caribou Coffee across the street which is far better.
We were in town for a wedding on the outskirts. We appreciated the suites aspect of our room, but in booking more than one, found that the suites are not all alike in size or comfort. One of our rooms was substantially larger and more effectively laid out than the other. In general, though, we found these suites clumsily arranged in terms of lighting, seating, and adequate amenities. Since this is a suites complex (rooms with kitchenettes and sofabeds in the living area) the fact that there were no dishtowels or kitchen basics provided nor sufficient shampoo, blankets and pillows, suggests a sort of tone-deafness in the developer or hotel owner. The air conditioning blasted relentlessly, as often happens in hotels, and you could not adjust this to a low fan. If you turned off the air, the room was immediately stifling. In short, the hotel has some HVAC issues. The staff was pleasant and efficient, especially in the breakfast room. We did find the desk staff most often not present when we passed through. Although a minor detail, the very good chocolate chip cookies supposedly available 'round the clock comprised a few sad crumbs whenever I passed the cookie jar. In short, someone is missing the mark here. Standards of hospitality and thoughtfulness start at the top, and there is where I'd place blame for this adequate hotel missing the mark.
We enjoyed an over-night get-away with our 2 grand-daughters, and found the facility convenient, clean, comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the "grands" loved swimming with us in the very nice pool. We all had a relaxing time and will return in the future as the girls are already asking when we'll "meet in Menomonie" again.
Recently remodeled new & fresh! Great rooms and nice Televisions with (flat screens) Very nice breakfasts, fresh fruits, waffles,& yogurt. Very nice staff, super friendly. Feels like home away from home.
This hotel is a great property. We used to stay in Eau Claire because I didn't believe there was a quality hotel in the Menomonie area. Now we will be staying at this property every time we come to Wisconsin. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and they take a genuine concern about each and every guest.
Best hotel in Menomonie and we have stayed at more than one there. Clean, nice rooms and friendly staff. Lobby is really nicely done and we enjoyed the free cookies and coffee. Breakfast had nice choices.
We had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Plus Menomonie Inn & Suites. New hotel with nice clean rooms and beds. It was a Great stay ! Friendly staff and a nice breakfast included in room fee. We are very satisfied with our stay.
One of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip from Laughlin NV. Great staff and very clean an upgraded. Breakfast was plentiful and a good assortment of food. Pool area was well maintained with plenty of towels.
We were in the area for a family event. This was a great place to stay - very pleasant surprise. Clean, comfortable, easy to find, and located near lots of restaurants and a good sized grocery store. We'll be back for sure.
I'm so pleased with my experience. The two women at the front desk went out of their way to help me out. I made a mistake with my reservation and they were able to correct my mistake and they were so kind and friendly about it! I rarely have had such great service. They also gave me some great tips about planning ahead when I come visit my student at Stout. Thank You!!!
We needed to be in town overnight for a early morning visit to UW-Stout for our son's registration / orientation. Very convenient location, just off the inter-state. Nice an quiet. Breakfast was convenient and allowed us to save time without having to find a place to eat.
I was very impressed at the quality of the hotel room, services, and amenities for the price. This was the cleanest, most comfortable place I've stayed in many years. The pool water was very clean and the perfect temperature. In fact, the cleanliness of the entire hotel was impressive. Also, the staff and the manager were all very friendly and helpful; it really made us feel welcome after a long day on the road.
Great facility, with awesome staff and a GREAT breakfast selection. I was impressed. The ladies at breakfast took care of my son and I wonderfully. I do not stay at hotels that often but this was a great stay. The beds were perfect too.
Our family had to come to town for a funeral of a family member. The Best Western in Menomonie were so very nice. I called the 855 Best Western number on the internet and I did not realize that I had to pay $14.99 for a service fee. I ended up canceling the room du to having too many rooms booked for the amount of people staying at the Best Western,
If you are looking for a great place to stay when visiting UW Stout or anything in the area then look no further because you will find what you are looking for here.Clean rooms, extremely friendly staff, great breakfast and if you forget something like a toothbrush at home they even give you one for free.Great location too.
Everything was EXCELLENT EXCEPT THE NOISE WHEN WE TRIED TO SLEEP AFTER 10 PM--didn't happen!! Across from a Meeting Room & a few steps from the pool, which was open till midnight ( on a Sat. night!) The motel was beautiful, the room was very nice, breakfast was excellent--also the time for the breakfast on a Sunday morning --6:30 to 10:30 AM--- staff was very nice--everything was great except the NOISE when we tried to sleep at night!! Will NOT stay there again!!
Awesome hotel. Everything is what you'd expect. Great location, friendly staff. Cleanliness of the hotel was top notch. Would have thought we were the first people to ever stay in that room. Will be our first choice for future stays.
Check in was great, the front desk person wa very friendly and helpful, she even checked to make sure we were getting the best rate. Our room was very quiet and really big. I will stay here every time we are in town.
The hotel, I guess, was purchased or traded somehow to Best Western from a former Carlson country inn & suites about a year ago. There isn't much selection in Menomonie for hotels that don't outright suck, but there are others that are still useable, okay I'm a little spoiled, sorry. The morning free breakfast is okay but that's all, nothing special, I suggest go across close by state hwy 25 and eat at the Denny's there, it's a good one all things considered, skip the closer Perkins near this hotel, it's not a very good Perkins, it's all about the availability of labor in these cases and of course as always the management. The hotel rooms were very clean and excellent, plenty of plugs, lighting a little low, still waiting for that switch over to those more expensive but brighter LED's, but this is Menomonie, didn't go in the pool or the exercise rooms but if anything like the rest of the up keep, they should be great. Menomonie suffers from being in a state that is not supporting the main industry in town, that of education, the Wis. edu system is being bleed to death(?) by the state admin gov. Too bad, the other industries like agribusiness and outdoors activities are whats left plus warehousing along the I-roads and some energy fracking support outfits, that's it, It's on a downward census track due to the reduction of state supported edu industry. Enough said, if you need to stop near Menomonie, stop here cause it's not getting any better any place else in town, really.
I Highly recommend this hotel. The Staff was very friendly. The Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I will stay there again next time I'm in the area. It's a nice, homey place to stay while traveling.
Normally Best Westerns are not my first choice (never have been very inviting and their new logo is awful) however I was very pleased with this particular location in Menomonie, WI. There are few hotels in this area and this by far has been the best I have stayed at. Very friendly staff, nice new smell in all of the common areas & in rooms. Plus fridges & microwaves in the rooms. I was not able to take advantage of the free breakfast though if I had time I would have. Would stay here again.
I've been staying at this property for 8 years and have always been welcomed by the staff and made to feel at home. The hotel is continually being upgraded and improved from an amenity standpoint and the staff continues to be fantastic.
Very nicely kept hotel with very helpful staff. Rooms are quiet and I was right next to the front desk and breakfast room. Beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast has a great selection. I would recommend staying at this hotel.
Have to say I have had some bad experiences at other hotels in Menomonie. I previously stayed at some of the scarier hotels in town and had graduated to B&Bs - and there are some terrific ones in the area. When I was in town with a friend (as opposed to my hubby), the hotel was a better option so I was happy to find the Best Western which is a newly remodeled hotel. We stayed in a double double and the room was nicely decorated, everything was clean and the beds and pillows were comfy. Although the hotel is right in the thick of things, it was not noisy at all. Staff was very friendly and helpful (the ice machine on our floor was out of order and the gal at the desk volunteered to bring us ice if we wanted. They had some very refreshing lemon water at the desk and my son (the UW Stout Soph) snitched a cookie from their jar. Everything in the bathroom was good - shower just the right temp. In the morning we had the continental breakfast which was acceptable with hot and cold food and a nice variety. I will definitely stay again as my son has another 2 years to go and would recommend to others without hesitation.
You need to look for it, even though it is close to the expressway. Communal tables in lobby to do some work. Room was updated nicely. Front desk knew the area restaurants very well and directed me to the right place.
The staff is wonderfully helpful. Probably the best free breakfast you can find. The hotel is recently renovated so clean and fresh. Centrally located close to restaurants and shopping. They even allowed us early check-in.
NEW decor us much improved. My kids loved the pool and hot tub. Fitness center was clean and had good assortment of equipment. Easy access to town. Breakfast was typical BW fair but great service from staff.
Evening staff very friendly and helpful. Bead was comfortable, slept like a baby. Decor of hotel was good. Internet worked well and the room was clean. Just the right distance from the hwy, not too close or far, quiet. Breakfast was good.
My family and I have stayed at this hotel several times while in Menomonie (previously Country Inn and Suites). The hotel underwent necessary upgrades to its exterior and interior which now makes it one of the best (if not the best) hotel in the area. The constant at this property is the employees. The staff at the Best Western Plus in Menomonie know what they are doing, as they make their best effort to make your stay a great one. The room was spacious and just what we needed for a family with a 3 and 7 year old. We took advantage of the breakfast a few times, which rotated its main dishes regularly and swam in the pool as well, which was clean and well maintained. Any time we are in town, we will choose to stay here!
Comfortable hotel on the edge of town near all the chain shops and restaurants. Not very convenient for getting to and from downtown or campus and I think they should consider adding a shuttle. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly but our king suite was oddly laid out and not very well decorated.
Best Western hotels have ALWAYS been a favorite place to stay, but the Menomonie WI location is the BEST, hands down. The staff is always friendly, professional, knowledgeable, easy to work with and will be as flexible as they can. The breakfast food is always fresh, hot (or cold) and tastes great. Every time that I have stayed, my room has been clean, cozy & inviting. Everything in the room has always operated the way that it should. I have no major complaints on this location. Again, hands down, the best.
Stayed three nights; only expected to be there one night, but work is unpredictable. So I checked in and out three times. Price was reasonable at $108 with AAA discount. Check-in was smooth and friendly. The first two nights were excellent. The breakfast staffer was super nice and even found a couple of granola bars for me "to go" because I knew I wouldn't have time for lunch. Nice, comfortable room. Clean. Quiet. Third night, I was given a room that had issues, though it was still clean and comfortable. The shower head was clogged or broken; only a trickle of water. Toilet seat was loose. I told the hotel staff and they apologized. Still recommend staying here!
Stayed here on a spur of the moment work trip. My rate was $108 as a walk-up at 9 p.m. Check in was fast and friendly, bed was firm, room was spotless and quiet. It's equivalent to a newer Fairfield Inn. The complimentary breakfast was the usual fare, nothing special, but it's quick. I would stay here again if in the area.
I am impressed how BW Best Western Hotels and Resorts have begun to revamp their hotels. The Menomonie Inn & Suites is one of them. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Room was very clean and updated. Breakfast choices were good. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Made a change from staying at a Super 8 to the Best Western. The price and Quality of the Best Western made it easy! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and house keeping was efficient!! Would absolutely stay here again!
The front desk was completed and the room was rehabbed and it was under the banner of Carlson Property's Country Inns and Suites. A good night sleep, good WiFi, decent breakfast, and friendly staff. The location was right of 94 and easy to get into and back on the road. Parking was partially filled with construction trailers but I was able to park at a neighboring business for the night.
Nice clean hotel with good breakfast for a reasonable price. I would recommend staying at this hotel in Menomonie, WI. I have stayed at this hotel four times in the last six months and think the staff is friendly and the place is kept clean.
The location is very nice and the staff were very friendly. The only 2 issues i had was the overwhelming smell of smoke in my room. Not sure if someone below my room was smoking or where it was coming from but it was overwhelming. Also when i went to take a shower, I closed the shower curtain only to find a dirty dried wash rag hanging on the shower curtain. Not really sure how housekeeping missed it! I did notify the front desk when of this, she seemed concerned but didnt really seem to do anything about it.
Stayed one night in order to attend a nearby event. Room was huge, clean, and very comfortable. The pool was nice, also clean and pleasant. Staff was freindly and helpful. Breakfast wasn't fantastic but adequate.
Nice new and clean hotel. Hope they can continue to maintain it at this level, being located in a college town. Beds were a little to soft for my comfort. Breakfast could have more variety. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
The Best Western was a great hotel! The accommodations where good, the staff was amazingly friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. We did eat their continental breakfast and one of the cereals was stale. But overall everything else was good! I would recommend the hotel to give a little more attention to the breakfast area. But the hotel itself was a great place to stay! We would definitely stay there again! Nice welcoming staff and great hotel!!
We stayed here in Aug of 2016 with our grandson. We were in the area for the World of Outlaws races in New Richmond. We had fun and made use of the pool area during our stay. Rooms were clean and they offer a good breakfast with hot items. Would stay here again.
We were in Menomonie for a friend's wedding. The manager at the desk went out of her way to change our reservation to accommodate a room that was ready. This allowed us to be able to change before the wedding ceremony. Very clean hotel.
The Best Western is the best place to stay in Menomonie, it is clean and comfy beds. However if the rates are above $125 a night I will stay in Eau Claire and pay a lower rate at another property that offers clean and comfy beds - we did it before
If you're not a fan of bedbugs, hookers wandering the halls and rooms smelling like a RIO swimming pool, the Best Western is your only real choice in Menomonie. I've been staying there since it was a Country Inn and Suites, and the remodel has raised it to at least Fairfield Inn status. The new pricing is lower than before - so I'd call it a best bet.
Just returned from a one night stay . Wonderful experience. Have stayed in other hotels in this area that are horrible compared to this place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Clean, remodeled, quiet, very nicely decorated, efficient , friendly staff, 24 hour coffee available with cookies as well, comfortable clean beds, clean carpet, nice pool area with a hot tub where kids are not allowed after 10pm, very nice bathroom with newer fixtures, a soaking tub and shower. Perfect location. Close to UW Stout, stores and restaurants. Will never stay anyplace else when I go to visit my daughter who lives in Menomonie. Just
Excellent motel. comfortable and high quality. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone looking for a quality place to stay. Staff were welcoming and accommodating and the amenities were excellent.
what a great place to stay. for the money it exceeded everything i expected. will stay here again, for sure. very clean. staff was awesome. breakfast was great. real plates, real silverware, real glasses. not plastic is what i am saying here. got it? you won't regret staying here.
We travel around the Upper Midwest for horse shows and typically stay in budget hotels. However, all of the budget hotels were booked for our last show; the Best Western (formerly the Country Inn & Suites) was the only place with space available. THE GOOD: --Clean rooms --Friendly employees --Fresh-baked cookies available in the afternoon --Lovely breakfast --Clean, well maintained pool THE BAD: --More expensive than the other hotels in town (in some cases, almost double the price). But then, you get what you pay for: this hotel is noticeably cleaner, with better-trained employees, and all of the amenities you'd expect of a 3-star hotel (including a nicer breakfast). BOTTOM LINE: We likely won't stay here again, because I won't pay $150/night for a hotel while attending a horse show (we've already spent enough on the show!). As well, the hotel simply seems pricey for the middle-of-nowhere, Wisconsin. Having said that, if I were a parent visiting my child at UW-Stout, this would be my hotel of choice. There really aren't a lot of lodging options in Menomonie, so this one seriously stands head-and-shoulders above the rest.
As another reviewer mentioned, I also made my reservation several months ago while this was still Country Inn & Suites. I have been to Menomonie many times so I was only somewhat confused by the name change. Quickly discovered I was in the right place when I asked a worker who was on break outside. I was not disappointed, however. Our room was clean and comfortable. Tabitha, at the front desk, was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is basically your typical continental breakfast. If you need more, there is a Perkins within easy walking distance. Someone mentioned that parking was a pain. If there was an issue previously, I believe it has been remedied as we had no problem. I, personally, did not take advantage of the in-house exercise facility but it looked nice. Plus they have a deal with the Anytime Fitness which is right next door. I only stayed one night so cannot comment on any additional staff (housekeeping, etc). Associated with this review, TripAdvisor asks if this location is quiet. Since my stay was a Sunday night, I can say my experience is that it was quiet. I have no complaints so will give this location a 5 star approval. I will definitely stay at this location again.
Casey gave us really over-the-top service; she carried luggage when no carts were available; she changed our room for a little extra space to accommodate my husband's walker; she helped load our car. I am sure the other staff are also helpful, but Casey really was qute exceptional.
Great hotel with awesome staff. Rooms were great and very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel! There is a great gym in the hotel or an anytime fitness center in the front parking lot which makes it very easy to get a workout in.
When I made the reservation for this hotel several months ago, I booked at a Country Inn and Suites. Apparently there was a franchise change in early July, which I wasn't made aware of. I was looking for the Country Inn, so I drove right past the hotel at first. It was only after I confirmed the address on my Country Inn confirmation that I realized that it had changed to a Best Western Plus. Other than that little inconvenience, our stay was very pleasant. I was there with my daughter for a visit to the UW campus in town, so it was just her and I on this trip. We walked a block to the Perkins for dinner that evening and felt perfectly safe. The hotel is really easy to get to, right off the interstate and it's a quick, simple drive to the campus from there as well. I was told they had just completed all the remodeling in the hotel and it WAS very clean, very fresh, modern and bright. Our room was comfortable and roomy enough for the two of us and would have been fine if there were four of us in the room. Being that it was all just redone, the room was clean. No issues there. Comfy bed too. I slept great! Breakfast is your typical free breakfast but it was hot and tasty and it was all we needed. We were there on a Friday morning so it wasn't busy and there was plenty of everything available. The only two negative comments I have - if you can even call them that - are that the elevator was really slow - and every time it stopped on the third floor it took forever for the door to open, which was just a tiny bit unsettling (so if you have a fear of elevators, or are a little claustrophobic, you might want to ask for a room on the first floor LOL). The other thing I noticed was that if you just let go of your door and walked away- it took forever to close. I assume it's set that way so that the doors don't slam shut as soon as you walk in or out, which is kind of nice cuz that's one of my pet peeves in hotels - slamming doors! But our door took extraordinarily long.. which just seemed a little strange, but not a really big deal, cuz once I realized it, I just made sure to close it myself rather than wait. Overall, our short stay there was good and if we would come back to the area, I would most certainly stay here again.
The hotel was being renovated while I was there, but lucky for me I had one of the freshly redone rooms. Parking was a bit of a pain, but it looked like the upgrades on the parking lot were going fast. I had stayed at other hotels on my trip and this one was the best. The bed was heavenly and comfortable. I wish I had opted to stay here an additional night. Breakfast was standard hotel fare but it was included and did the trick. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely stay here.
We started in this location for 4 nights. The breakfast was very good and the lady handling it was awesome (Karen, I think). Out room was newly redone so it was fine. The housekeeping staff was sub-par, as the beds were remade and looked awful, and the wastebaskets not emptied. Then the next day we returned to find our door left open by housekeeping. They are in the midst of a total remodel and that was not an issue. There was a tornado warning and there didn't seem to be any plan on how to contact guests for make sure of their safety.....something they should work on. Overall I would say, it was just OK...nothing more.
This is by far the best hotel in Menomonie WI. The accommodations and staff exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately, this property will soon change to a different company and no longer be a Country Inn & Suites.
The hotel was beautifully remodeled and the rooms were extremely clean. We stayed at the hotel for a wedding in the area and the staff went above and beyond for our entire group. I will be staying here the next time that I am in the area!
Just before we arrived there was a large storm that occurred and knocked out power to the area for a few hours. I have stayed at other hotels that we not ready for this type of occurrence and we were unable to check in. This hotel was ready for us with key cards in hand and was able to continue business even though there was no power.
This hotel experience was mixed. Great staff - nice room and renovations will be great when completed. The rooms will need a airing. The beds were probably just fine - they were certainly comfortable just had a smell of mildew. The breakfast lady Rhea was fabulous and made it feel like home.
