Excellent hotel. We were here a third year in a row for a conference. Room was spacious, actually a suite. The pub/lounge served a good menu promptly. No issues with WiFi. The banquet food and service was outstanding. We even had housekeeping!
It was an enjoyable stay with exceptional staff. The breakfast staff are exceptionally attentive and pleasant. Comfortable bed and quiet room. I have stayed at this hotel several times and this was the best visit yet. I will be staying there again.
It is definitely a conference center, as there was one going on when we checked in. So it made it a little more crowded than I expected, but the folks behind the counter were efficient and friendly. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. They are pet friendly with a $40 fee. The outdoor space to walk the dog was not great, considering they are at the edge of a forest. Just rocky areas around the parking lot. Also, there is a stairwell but you can only go out, there's no way to open from the outside, so you end up using the elevator with your dog. In our case that was a little nerve wracking as the conference was ... and interesting one with unusual people and the energy freaked out our dog a little bit, lol. I have written and suggested improvements as a pet friendly hotel. The breakfast was very good, and it was a good stopping place for us on a roadtrip.
Very nice hotel, the staff were friendly. Especially Andre was very kind and very helpful to us. The breakfast was good. The hotel is located very close to the shopping center which is very convenient. It's only about a 5 minutes walk. Overall I would definitely stay here again.
Almost a hotel from hell. So many things to list, let's just talk about the most annoying. The room wasn't very clean, it was extremely humid and smelled like mildew (I asked other guests, and they concurred). They didn't clean my room unless I called the front desk and even then, I had to call multiple times the same day. There is nothing to do in this hotel during the week. The bar is closed all week except for Friday and Saturday (while I was there) and even then, it closed at 10 PM. There is no place to congregate outside other than the parking lot so you can't even take advantage of nice warm sunny days. The food in the buffet is okay if you like a lot of fried greasy meat products, but if you want something healthy, there is nothing for a vegetarian for example. The internet is very slow and cuts out sometimes during the day, it's not consistent and depends on where your room is located. If you want to buy something with cash or pay for your room with cash, forget it, they don't accept money. You have to have a credit card and mine was refused three times (then it's locked out) even though my card works fine at other establishments in the same neighborhood. This is a hotel I'd recommend to someone that I don't like. I've been coming here for years because of the conference I need to attend and nothing changes, it's just the same sad hotel.
The staff at this hotel is exceptional. Special thanks to Christine, Arthur, Oscar, and Brian who took care that our stay was very pleasant. Even housekeeping is very responsive and friendly. There are also plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. The hotel's breakfast was well stocked and the staff manning it was very friendly and professional. Thanks to the entire hotel staff, our stay was excellent!
i have run coin Shows for past 61 years and can easily say Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel has easily been the best run out of the approximately 20 hotels i've been involved with past 61 years. Boston hotels were always good, but here at BW in Marlborough it was different...friendlier & more cordial...the desire to help and get job done is more from the heart.....they really care!!!!.....my coin show is quite complicated with several hundred banquet tables & chairs $ electric etc with no room for error....and everything is set up perfect every show for 11 years !!!......the 3 key folks that make it work PERFECT every time Christine & Arthur & Angela.
Location is quiet yet many restaurants and stores nearby. Room size larger than most. Bedding comfy with a variety of pillows made for a good night sleep. Too good - Be sure to check breakfast offering time. We missed breakfast by 4 minutes thinking we had until 10:00 am. Nope it was 9:00 AM. This is a great stop for us. Half way home - we will return.
Attended the Fly Fishing Expo at the Best Western Royal plaza and Trade Center. The accommodations were very good and the trade center was within walking distance of the hotel so it made for a easy walk to the show. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and very comfortable. The place was pretty much full when I arrived but my room was ready and no issues. Breakfast and Dinner at the restaurant inside was very good. Look forward to returning next year for the next expo and maybe some bargains at the show.
Ran a multi-day convention at the hotel, with hundreds and hundreds of guests in attendance. Massive amount of setup was required. The hotel's staff was with us every step of the way to assist with anything and everything. Can't say enough good things about the team here. Especially Oscar. That guy spent hours and hours doing everything we asked him to do, and then a lot more, without a hint of anything but being happy to help.
Worst Best Western - EVER!! To start, we were not thanked for being platinum members, nor were we given our two bottles of water at check-in for being platinum members.. The power went out shortly after we arrived. This was not their fault, but it is their fault for not having enough generators to run the entire hotel. We only found out about the issue with the power when we returned from dinner and the TV, refrigerator & AC were no longer working. There was no phone in the room, but we wouldn't have been able to call the front desk anyways as the phone system was out, so we had to go down to the front desk to advise of the items not working. In addition to all of that, there was no shower curtain in the room & only half of the power/USB outlets worked, and the restaurant was closed(from other reviews, this appears to be a constant issue)?!?! The manager & two other employees were too busy trying to figure out how to use a laptop to do what, we don't know.. In the meantime, they were totally ignoring all of the guests at the front desk. They have a huge sign in the lobby saying how they strive for a 10 rating - NOT!
Our room smelled like cat litter. The ac system sucked. It was extremely hot and humid in the hallways, lobby, and elevators. Multiple elevators were out of service the whole weekend we were there. We traveled for a dance competition and most of the rooms of our group smelled gross. They smelled like cat litter smell being covered with pet spray. Skip this hotel. There are so many others within 1 minute of this hotel that are much nicer.
This has been one of the cleanest, friendliest, and comfortable places we have stayed. The room was very clean, and the breakfast was outstanding. Employees were friendly and very accommodating. The only drawback was that our card key did not work, and we waited about 35 minutes to get it resolved. .
Stayed two nights. June 8 & 9. Now Teo weeks later there are unauthorized charges on my credit card. Called the number on their website and they will not connect me directly with the hotel . And offer no help. Won't even provide the hotels direct number! Total rip off !
One of the nicest Best Westerns I have ever stayed at. Excellent location and price. Clean and well kept
The hotel is large but older. The front desk Staff is very friendly and helpful. Devon and John can solve any problem! The breakfast gives you many options and the wait staff are amazing. Reserve the family suite. It is large with two bathrooms.
Construction outside my room started at 7:30 am with the beeping of large equipment backing for over an hour. Then the drilling directly outside my window started and workers shouting to each other. My daughter had to cover her ears it was so loud. I waited 45 min for manager (after calling to speak to him 3 times) to call me back. We finally packed up our stuff and left the hotel. I did speak to manager first who only offered me reward points - I said I don't plan to stay at BestWestern ever again so I don't want the points!
Extremely happy that I chose this hotel. Location was great. Amenities were perfect. Staff was amazing. Anna provided the best experience from check in to check out. I highly recommend this location to anyone. They do not disappoint.
The hotel was very nice place to host a convention. It was especially nice because all the display, convention hall and work rooms were in the same hallway that could be lock so things could be left out over night.
We went on a weekend where there was a convention for kids, so they had the restaurant closed the pool closed and the bar closed!!! It was not fair to us who went for the weekend to enjoy ourselves. Rooms had a terrible mildew smell.
This is a 3* hotel plus: * A really good free full hot breakfast and large seating area * Rooms a bit larger than average, and quite quiet. * Plenty of free parking What really impressed me was how well the staff handled a large and boisterous conference. Check in was staged in advance so it took perhaps 1 minute. The breakfast staff kept up with 100's of hungry guests. Through the weekend, the staff was cool and efficient despite the crowds in the lobby. This tells me that there are adequate staff and that they are well trained and well treated.
The hotel is a bit outdated (can use a renovation) but the staff is very friendly and the restaurant is great. The rooms are well appointed, plenty of outlets and reliable Internet. It's incredibly close to shopping and restaurants, and easy to access from the highway.
The front desk staff was gracious and very helpful to us as we arrived late on Friday evening, April 19, after setting up our booths at the trade center, selling until 9:15 p.m. and then getting dinner. We received complimentary waters and snacks. When I signed in, I had to initial that I would not smoke in the room, so it was to our great surprise that our room reeked of marijuana smoke, and the next morning, our elevator did, too. On Saturday night, we had an extra person helping us at our booth and staying over, and I requested a cot. I first tried to phone the front desk, but there was no answer even though I rang the number for 15 minutes. We had to move the luggage holder in order to accommodate the cot. I told the front desk when I ordered the cot. When the housekeeping person brought the cot, I asked if she had another person with her, to help us move the luggage holder. Not only did she not respond to this, she didn't offer to help us open the cot or explain how. I understand if you're short-staffed and perhaps language communication was an issue, and it was late at night after our selling day, but we were left trying to figure out how to move the furniture and open the cot. The food options were various and delicious and there was plenty of food. The wait staff were helpful and available. Please bill customers if they leave an odor in the room. Make sure this is known upfront and enforce it. Please train housekeeping to help guests know how to fit a cot into their room and how to open it. If they need communication skills, please provide this.
The rooms are good and great staff. Kudos to the general manager and all of the staff! My room was Clean rooms. I was here in February for a convention and there were zero issues. Breakfast was nice and hot, never ran out of food. I will stay here again!
This was my first time staying at a Best Western property and I must say it was a great experience. Besides the property being so nice and uplifting, the front office manager Sam was hands down the best customer service I've ever experienced. Sam treated me like I was at home and made my visit very comforting. That goes a long way and he was genuine about it too. I will definitely repeat and I hope Sam sticks around for a long time.
Great place to stay on travel through the area. Efficient checking in and out with great, friendly customer service. Staff advised of good local restaurant offerings, as well as delivery options, knowing that we had been traveling a lot that day. Hot, or cold breakfast offerings and service by staff was top notch, definitely would book a room again.
We had a trade show there. Arthur, the manager, was extremely helpful. All the staff we interacted with were great, friendly, efficient. The breakfast set up was good. We have been there for several years and will continue to come back. The facility is very clean and remodeled.
Hotel was clean, staff was very nice and eager to assist me with everything needed making me feel at home. Breakfast was included and had a delicious buffet that was massive! Room was spotless with comfortable bed and pillows. Definitely recommend staying at this hotel as I know I will be back soon for work travel!
Awful experience. Went here for a convention. Check-in had a line a mile long and only one person working. Each check-in took far longer than what I consider average, they seem to have a rather old reservation system. There was no "Do not disturb" signs in either room my family stayed in. Housekeeping would knock on the door at 8AM and barge right in. On the day of check-out I went down to the car to deliver some bags and when I got back not five minutes later, room service had swept in to clean the room, and this was before check-out time, so we were still checked in. I wasn't able to do a final walk-through to make sure I didn't leave anything behind. When I did arrive home, I realized I left my toiletry bag there with my glasses in it. I've called twice and nobody has been able to find it, housekeeping either took it or threw it away, apparently. The restaurant seemed woefully understaffed and was only open at night. The kids liked the pool and otherwise the rooms were about average.
Elevator broken again like last stay. Mold and Mildew in room. Safety bar in shower prevented me from turning water on to shower mode - absolutely insane! Resturant/bar/breakfast Cafe were all good though. Hotel desk person was not interested in my complaint.
Hotel has a dated interior but was a decent stay. We travelled with a youth hockey team and found accomodations more then suitable to our needs. Breakfast was traditional but of good quality and plenty of it.
Two years in a row we have stayed here with our son's college swim team. Have found the hotel to be very accommodating to our group. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was good, with standard selection. Staff was friendly.
It is a good location, quiet with lots of parking. The rooms need to be updated, cleaned, painted and caulking. Bathroom needs to have a plumber replace taps and drains that work poorly. This hotel does not meet the standards I have been used to with BW. I am a diamond member.
The staff, the food, the quality of care of the employees were appreciated. The hotel was clean and inviting. From the arrival time we were greeted very kindly with patience. After arriving in out room within 1 hr we got a phone call making sure everything was in good shape and working. This has never happened to me before.
Hotel is so old and nothing is updated. No phone chargers on night stand, you have to call to get internet, customer service is awful, keys never worked and I had to go back downstairs every time I returned to my room, no one at desk knows why your bill is to high, and they do not follow requests for disabled individuals no matter what you do ahead of time. Worst stay I've been had!!
Never told us they were using their property as an illegal alien shelter. My family was harrassed walking thru the hall to get to our room. Weed odor was everywhere. Garbage was everywhere. Disgusting.
Avoid this place at all costs. First the hotel is full falling apart. The rooms are leaking, the carpet and accommodations are filthy. More importantly the policies and management are incompetent at best, crooked at worst. I fully informed them upon arrival of a change in my reservation. The front desk confirmed it was no problem and ‘would change the reservation'. Then when departing upon checkout the front desk confirmed I was all set. I then get billed for the full amount. I call to have corrected, had to make 5 phone calls and over an hour to be told “well the reservation wasn't change and there's a 72 hour notice period and a 3 night minimum so we are refunding”. This is an embarrassment to the Best Western name. Which is really saying something.
The staff was very friendly and had a service mentality. Kelly in the restaurant was wonderful and went out of her way to engage us, answer questions about the area. Front desk was always friendly and polite. Mark at the bar was the only person we met that didn't want to be there (and he said as much). We were in a big group in which 3 rooms found bed bugs, and we had lady bugs in our room over multiple nights. Rate was over $150/night, which is about $60 too much for this hotel. It desperately needs a refresh just to charge what they charged us. Many had issues sleeping due to the beds and wall hvac unit. The hvac blower was loud, but worse, a regular rainfall woke me up due to the droplets hitting the unit throughout the night.
I got double charged for a pet, was promised a refund and only got less than half of what was owed. Now I can't get any response. Got locked out of room and 2 sets of cards later, I had to take an Uber to an appointment. Blood on shower curtain, rocking toilet.
Paint was chipping off everything both in room and all over pool room. The pool had debris in bottom and in pool, yet no one had used it. Pool did not smell of chlorine at ALL and believe it was not being upkept. This was very disappointing as I took my wife a for a small day getaway and she was looking forward to the pool but couldn't use it as it was disgusting. The elevators were all broken or making severe noises. How is it I was charged over $230 for a room that is less up kept and SO outdated then $70 motel room is? UNEXCEPTABLE! WORST hotel experience ever and I have been in hotels that were only $50 a night!
The bed was comparable to trying to sleep on a table. The couch was more comfortable. The bar/grill service was slow. Food came out slow. Waitstaff forgot our beverages until we asked for them after our food came out. We were not in a hurry but fries and sandwiches should not take 45 min. They were friendly though.
When I arrived the lobby was full of folks waiting to check in. I was taken care of right away. My room was perfect. Bed was soft and the room was quiet. My only complaint was the water pressure in the bathroom sink was only a dribble.
We were not staying at the hotel however, there was a convention going on this past weekend. That was a three day event. The staff at the hotel were incredibly professional, friendly, and understanding of my disabilities. The trade center was very well organized and spacious. The shuttle service was very convenient that would go back-and-forth from the hotel to the trade center throughout the weekend. Q and a panels were held at the hotel and that was a very smart idea because I don't think they would've had too much more room at the trade center for them based on how well everything was we will definitely be booking a room here in the future and possibly having a family gathering here.
the website info and real life did not match. No dinner restaurant, it was closed. No room service as listed on web. The check in clerk was rude and brusque and offered no help or info. We had no idea breakfast was available. We asked for a 1st floor room and got a 6th.
Hotel is clean, service friendly and breakfast better than most hotel offerings. Restaurant is only open Fri & Sat nights, which should be included in on line booking info. Having AVIS rental in the hotel a big plus.
1st stayed at this hotel in 1986 and then again last week. The desk and bathroom floors were dirty. The toilet had been used with toilet paper in the toilet. Not a great 1st impression. No room service even though it said they had it. Bar closed on Sunday.
We arrived around 3:30 and the lobby was deserted. A clerk soon appeared and we checked in. First room's AC was not working and we were quickly changed to another room. Room was clean and spacious but perhaps in need of a refresh. Breakfast the next morning was varied and satisfying. No dedicated area for walking our dog, but it was ok. Several restaurants nearby. Only problem is the hotel is located behind a shopping center, which is where the gps takes you. You have to go past the shopping center where the entrance road is clearly marked.
This property has, apparently very recently, implemented an "early check in" fee: if you check in before 4:00pm, you're charged an additional $25+tax fee. Don't want to pay the fee? Come back after 4:00pm. Have a busy afternoon and evening? Too bad, so sad, you gotta pay. Worst, the first I - or anyone else checking in - heard about the fee was at check-in time. Bad enough to charge this preposterous fee; worse to not tell anyone about it until they;re trying to check in. Not OK.
An Amateur radio show where maybe 2,000 people showed up. Conference Rooms were not wholly labels, that is, where the event rooms were located. The hotel staff were pleasant to direct the correct locations.
Wife and I were attending a conference. Hotel facilities were good. Property was a bit older than others in the area, but everything worked well and room was clean. Access to a from the facility is a bit tricky if you haven't been there before.
This a great location for a large convention with plenty of space for vendors, classroom sessions an outside flee market. It sits back from the main road making it a nice quiet setting for a weekend getaway.
I went to the best western for a convention. There were a looooottttt of us there, and the staff was nothing but friendly and welcoming! The pool was seriously awesome, and my favorite part was the breakfast! Overall the hotel was very quiet, it was peaceful! Even with the crazy crowd that we were, every morning was so relaxing. I had such a great time!
No problems, staff are respectful Hotel very very clean, located in a great area, everything you need is right outside the door Rome was very big and roomy, nice swimming pool, nice exercise room, arcade room for the kids
Contained throughout the day by starting w an outstanding b'fast buffet and then convenient lunch sandwiches, w restaurants nearby for dinners. The manager is great and caring and that is reflected in the staff's attitude as well.
Spent the weekend (9/18-9/20) at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel for a conference I was attending. Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was great, and conference area was spacious. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Extremely satisfied with my stay!
For 36 years now, my colleagues and I have been gathering once a year to celebrate one another and the progress each of us have made in our profession. I must say that being a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, not many things blow my mind; however, the customer service we received from the hotel staff every single year, is capable of doing just that! Pack up, and go, to Best Western Plaza and Trade Center Marlborough….
The staff at the front desk were really friendly. The rooms were clean and met my expectations. Also, the conference rooms were clean and easy to work in. The continental breakfast was also a nice treat and had good quality food
Located outside the busy Boston area. Set back from main road serene wooded area. Easy walking path to strip mall with food, grocery, Marshalls, & other businesses. Apex Center accross the street has many restaurants to find many different types of food. Easy to reach off I 495.
The staff, (Patti, Sehan and Mamado specifically). Are excellent at hospitality. They are real professionals. I was always welcomed. I felt comfortable and very cared for. In this day and age, the way they went above and beyond is remarkable. You won't find service like this anywhere!
This is a nice hotel with great COVID19 protocols, cleaning, and protection. The beds and bed clothes were delightful. But, as a vegan, I was disappointed in the total lack of vegan options at breakfast and in the restaurants.
Housekeeping was nonexistent. Hotel is dated and dirty. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. AC smelled like mildew. 2/3 of equipment in fitness facility was broken. Breakfast was decent if you went earlier.
Traveled with a group for a hockey tournament. Room was not clean prior to check in. Rooms and elevators need updating. Carpet in rooms and hallways need updating. Breakfast was better than most continental breakfast offered.
I have been working with a team to produce an annual trade show in the ballroom of this hotel for about a decade and we continually experience first class service from all levels of staff — from Arthur & Angela who work with us at a management level on all contractual and operational details, to their supportive staff (Beth, Oscar, April, etc). They always ensure we have what we need to run a flawless event and go above and beyond to check-in often and take care of us and will drop everything to lend a helping hand. Each year we walk away in awe at the exceptional service they consistently provide and the pride & incredible work ethic of each individual staff member. FIVE STARS EVERY SINGLE TIME. We definitely recommend this hotel to run your next event!!
We came to Best Western for a conference. We had a million little questions and requests and every staff member we encountered was as friendly and helpful as we've ever experienced. Rooms and amenities were terrific.
I needed some alone time, everyone from management to the breakfast team, and the front desk staff, to house keeping treated me so wonderfully, and if I needed anything they were right on top of it. They did a great job and thank you for everything.
Hotel is close to everything easy check in and check out staff is really helpful they go above and beyond the pool is nice clean rooms nice comfy beds the breakfast is wonderful and it's pet friendly
What you're getting for the price is astounding (half as much as surrounding cities in worse locations). Only complaint would be dated tvs, but for the value it's hard to really complain. Breakfast was free and great, bed was comfortable, shower had nice pressure but was odd (handicap room).
Our family stayed for 2 nights for our travel tournament. Upon check in we decided to check out the pool as we have kids who wanted to jump right it. What we saw was a big green cloudy hole with a disgusting stench coming from it. It clearly hasn't been serviced or cleaned in a long time. It wasn't blocked off her anything as people were walking in and looking at it perplexed just as we did. We decided to check out our room and waited for the elevators for about 15 minutes. They were plenty of group staying at the hotel that weekend, so there was a big back up by the elevators. When we finally did reach our room, the hallway was disgusting. The carpet was stayed and smelled…. But the worst part was opening our room door and getting smacked in the face with a curry smell. We had to keep the windows open, just to air out the room. We realize the smell were coming from the bathroom vents. The first bathroom give off a curry smell, the second bathroom (we booked a family suite) had a cigarette smell coming through it. We were not comfortable all weekend thankfully we did not spend much time at the hotel because we were playing in the tournament.
It took 35 min to drive into Boston, but this is by far one of the best BW properties - the breakfast is a true continental hotel breakfast in the restaurant - and great service! Galina the manager was great! The food choices, cleanliness and overall service was really good. The hotel is really big, many rooms - didn't feel like a BW, more of a larger chain hotel. Free parking and right off the highway, so that we can head on home the next day was the other reason we chose this property for our Boston stay - it was worth the longer drive into the city.
I had just recently stayed at the Best Western and 100% would come back. Everything overall was great, my room was quiet and spotless clean. I've never had a hotel where the bed and pillows are this comfortable and all the staff here are so helpful and amazing. I will say their breakfast at Zachary's is delicious, always hot and fresh. The wonderful lady Galina who works as a hostess at Zachary's is outstanding. She always asks if we needed anything, made sure everything was clean and overall such a nice woman. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.
After a horrible road trip trying to get from Jersey To Canada in which we got lost in the middle of no where, then took the wrong exit to a small town where I ended up getting food sick, finally got to this bright and clean hotel, seemed like the light of the end of the tunnel, we got greeted by Angel who in less that we expected, got us settled in our room. Not too long my stomach sickness got worst and I ended up clogging the rooms only bathroom, super embarrassed, I hesitated on calling but Angel picked up the phone and made me feel like it was no problem at all. Got us got us situated in a bigger, larger room, even with a view! Amazing people still do exist and he is one of them, along with the staff, totally recommended this little live saver (:
We stayed for 9 days, me and my 4 family members. The room was clean and tidy, the service of the front desk employees were amazing. The front desk manager Angel, make us feel like we were at home. The best so far.
I went with my family from Argentina and we had a great time. Everything was clean and in perfect condition. The people was kind and very helpful with everything. I like it has Latino people who helped us with things, because our English is not that good so we could do things. Amazing experience!
Nice choice of eggs, sausage, home fries, yogurt, mini muffins and never ending supply of good coffee! Place to relax, comfortable :) Very large facility, quiet bar and food area separate from restaurant. Didn't use the pool but many did. Large parking area.
Great place is you want to listen to 20 or 30 kids running up an down the halls at all hours of the night. Rooms are nothing special and need to be renovated. Not worth the $600 for 3 nights. Would have been better sleeping in my truck and showering at LA Fitness in the morning...... Understaffed Bar/Restaurant. Bartender should get hazard pay for being over whelmed all night, but he got it done. He was fantastic given the hand he we dealt by the manager. Great guy.... Only thing Great about my stay....
I spent 1 night and it was a great stay and the room was making me feel like home. Close to restaurants and shopping. Friendly staff. Will go back if in the area. Had a great hight sleep. Did not visit the pool or the gym.
The owners need to invest some money in this building. It is outdated and needs upgrades. The staff was very nice and helpful, but it is time to slap some paint, buy some new furniture and give this hotel a serious makeover.
Really nice and accommodating hotel. Clean rooms, top notch breakfast, one of the best we've ever had. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Easy access when traveling through this area of Massachusetts. Lots of things to do with in minutes of the hotel. Would definitely recommend staying at this property.
I recommend this hotel for everyone you can call best western a second home . Good location safe environment . Even for kids no problem …..Great welcome the people there welcome you with 2 bottles of water…I loveeeee
My wife and I attended the annual Natural Living Expo that is hosted by this Best Western. The staff from check in to the wait staff were great. Breakfast was great. We will be back again. Great place to stay.
Overall condition of the room was dirty and run down. The first two rooms given were moldy with door locks that did not function. The complimentary breakfast also contained fruit that contained mold and was clearly past its prime. I would not only refrain from staying at this location again, but I have also informed all company employees to question their decision to stay as well.
The rooms are clean and safe, so that's good. The restaurant is very sticky and dirty and way overpriced. The food was terrible. The free breakfast is also very bad. Stale french toast that I couldn't bite through from the day before, fruit that tastes off and burnt coffee. You'd get better food if you brought your kids' school cafeteria food with you. 1 out of 4 elevators broken, vending and ice on my floor was broken.
room was not as clean as it should be if they are disinfecting after each guests checks out. I had crumbs on the desk chair and a couple dead bugs on the carpet, it's possible the bugs died after the riin was vacuumed but they did not get the crumbs.
Overall, this is an extremely tired property. Pre-registration email sent to me did not work. Advised person at check-in that their system wasn't working; was told that it has NEVER worked. No trolleys available, dirty soiled hallway carpeting, 2 of 4 elevators broken down, ice maker broken (went to bar for ice; was told this happens almost every day). But the worst was the bedbugs we discovered. We checked out at 9pm & drove an additional 4 hours to get to a hotel that wasn't full that would accept a pet. Horrible experience!
We chose the Best Western because of the location. The quality of the rooms were very poor. There were no towels for showering available in our room. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were weird and also not comfortable. Two out of the four elevators were not working and we were on the sixth floor so each time we went up and down we had to not only wait for an elevator but wait for people to get on and off each floor. We also ate at the restaurant and the quality of the food was disappointing but the server was nice. We did not feel the $250 room cost was worth the poor quality of the experience. We could have stayed at a significantly cheaper hotel and had the same experience. We were truly disappointed!
I was there for a convention which I have attended many times. The rooms were quiet and clean. Good breakfast. The restaurant served good food and the waiters were friendly. Two of the elevators were not working.
The hotel is clean very nice the pool is great the breakfast staff and breakfast staff and breakfast is wonderful you can check in and check out very fast fast just enjoy the atmosphere the hotel gives it's pet friendly which is a plus and their restaurant in bar is excellent as excellent as well can't complain about anything easy access to stores and restaurants in the price is right
I had a great experience, the staff was great, breakfast was good & the room was clean. They are pet friendly. Also my favorite restaurant Chipotle is right around the corner. Overall it was great no complaints. I will definitely return in the near future.
2 of 4 elevators that had been inspected 2 months before were out of service (the technician was coming Wednesday - what one was never detailed). The bathtub drain backed up and spewed black gunk into the tub - four requests for maintenance were ignored but when we left, they thought maybe they would take the room out of service. The daytime staff was indifferent, the young man in the evening was personable and tried to be helpful. Once you leave the shiny lobby it is outdated, dirty, and badly in need of plumbing repair, ceiling repairs for the moldy water leaks. You get the picture. However, the free breakfast for some reason is very well done, great choices, and a pleasant helpful staff.
Will never visit this hotel again! Two working elevators out of four for 450-500 guests during a painting convention. Had to go down to the reception desk to get your sheets, towels, garbage bags, coffee, etc. There were many of us who had non-working phones in our rooms. Not everyone owns a cell phone, so there was no way to call if you had an emergency. I'd call the hotel first before I booked a room to make sure there is working elevators, phones and staff!
This is the second time we've stayed at this property this year. Coming from one direction on the main road, it is easy to find, but coming from the other direction - turning left into the entrance - is difficult. To get to the hotel, you have to turn left again despite a "do not enter" sign. After a booking.com reservation did not work out, we needed reservations for that same night. Fortunately, we had been to this hotel a few months earlier and knew it was huge and would likely have rooms. The breakfast spread is fantastic. My only complaint was that someone was smoking cannabis in the hallway during the night, and the smell gives me a bad headache.
The staff helped us with a very late night checkin. They were all very friendly. The breakfasts were the best we had during our whole trip. Loved the food and the breakfast staff. They chatted with us. They kept the food hot and stocked and cleaned up the tables quickly throughout the morning
One of the best staffs I have ever come across. Great night sleep. Huge breakfast. Close to interstate. Check in was fast and easy. check out was even faster. Nice pool, bar and restaurant. Rooms are very quiet.
A great place for everyone!! Accommodating Stafff!!! Fantastic buffet breakfast!!!! Ample parking This is one of the nicest places to stay for business meetings. Doing a Trade Show at this facility is fantastic
I stayed on two different nights in one week. I'm glad I waited until after the second stay to write the review. On my first night (September 2022), I stayed on the 3rd floor. The room was clean, but overall, the hallway and room carpets were "tired" and the beds, while comfortable enough, are probably due to be replaced. The front desk staff was friendly and customer service oriented. Breakfast was great. On my second visit, I stayed on the 4th floor. What a pleasant difference. New carpets. Overall a fresher appearance. Still a good staff, and clean room. Still a great breakfast selection. If you stay any time after September 2022. hopefully you will find the entire hotel to have been redecorated and updated. Breakfast had a large selection of hot teas and coffee choices. Lots of cold cereal as well as hot oatmeal, and good quality yogurt. Hot selections included two types of eggs, pancakes (that you make fresh yourself) sausage, and potatoes. Juices. Fruit. Really very nice. The fitness room is well supplied with treadmills, weights, etc. The swimming pool was way too cold for me to enjoy it. Rather than relaxing, it would be stressful to be in water as cold as a Michigan lake. (And I booked this hotel, in part, to relax in the pool.) But really, that's the only downside. I was quite comfortable, and would return.
Stay was OK. Nothing really outstanding or terrible to report. Everything in the room was functional. Some dirt on carpet. Internet worked well. TV had a limited selection of channels. Breakfast was very good and I appreciated the extended hours (until 11AM). Did not like policy which required advance notice by 4PM day before to get room cleaned. Hotel needs to provide clear signage from Route 20. Sign is currently blocked by trees.
My stay was for two nights. I was in town to visit family. Hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, staff was very good at check in. No issues. Breakfast was good. Wifi worked for me. There was a ham radio convention at hotel. No issues with noise. I would stay at this hotel again. It was in a good location.
We have stayed here twice for a convention. The service, rooms, and food are all very good. The bathrooms are in need of updating, but they are clean and in working order. Comfortable bed, very good ventilation.
It was a bit confusing to find the entry, then when you go down the drive you're not sure if it's the right way because there's no other signage to indicate that you are headed the right way. Then you finally get to the hotel after going down the long driveway. Nice big hotel, a little outdated, old smell but you get used to it I guess because it didn't bother me after awhile. Bathroom was big and nice but the tub was lumpy when taking a shower, felt like I was showering on cobblestone. Room was nice and spacey. Nice lobby area.
Don't bother. This hotel is old and poorly maintained. While the rooms are spacious, an upgrade is sorely needed. The toilet runs, the tub was filthy due to age, and the drain in the bathtub was so slow you get your feet bathed in dirty water as you showered. The only good part was the breakfasts.
Stayed here for an event. Conference center was spacious with large hallway seating area. Great location and good price. Would stay here again for sure. Also centrally located to a bunch of restaurants and shops.
My husband and I just stopped for one night on our way to visit friends in Maine. We were greeted as BW Rewards members & given goody bags-water & ice cream! The king room was very spacious which was nice as we just wanted to stay in the room and relax after our 7-1/2 hr drive. Located off the main roads, it was quiet yet just about anything you would want is right next door-restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, & entertainment. Only issue was that only 2/4 elevators we're working so always waiting for one.
Hotel is run down. Hallways are muggy and extremely hot. Rooms are damp feeling. Upon check in hotel was dirty. Elevator smelled like puke. No one answers front desk phone, once we finally got ahold of them for towels, 5 calls later l, no one got us any.
We stayed because our AC broke in a heat wave. We went so we could swim in a pool. Pool was so disgusting we could not even go in. We complained and no one cared. The night manager said oh sometime amenities are broken and so rude.
the young man at the front desk was beyond rude and honestly a bad representation of best best western. he was beyond rude and management should have him re do customer service training . thanks to him i will no longer me staying at htis localtion!
I was checked in by Quon & Corber in a short time. Room 556. The room was spacious with two queen comfortable beds. Between the beds are two wall mounted lights. Facing the beds is one large cabinet with three medium drawers along with fridge & micro wave. Above the cabinet is a medium size flat screen with about 55 channels, however some channels listed on a card didn't match with the channels shown. Next to the cabinet is a writing desk with a lamp and a swivel chair. Floor is in/out door carpet. If I remembered cooectly the room had no closet, however on one walll is a metal rack. Bathroom. A tub/shower combo. Hot water for shower in 12 seconds. Sink counter has awall to wall large mirror. Bottles of shampoo & conditoner. The shower head is adjustable. On one end of tub is a safety handle. Plenty of towels. Because of ther covid there is NO daily housecleanig-most of motel/hoteld don't have maid service- or bed making. If a guest needs fresh towels, take the towel(s) to the front desk for an exchange. Overall the room was clean & no smells. NOTE. The toilet paper is paper thin, I recommend that a guest bring their own roll(s). The A/C worked fine. Unit was operating on arrival. Controls were easy to operate. NO blackout cutains, just a dark see thru curtain. Breakfast. Hours. 6:00 to 9:00. The area is two levels, with the lower level having mostly booths and square tables. Upper level is mostly benches & square tables. Menu: Streamers for scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage patties, french toat, self-serve pancakes-the cakes are small I would do two two at a time. Only two streamers at a time. Juices: orange, cranberry, apple & cold water. Bowls of bananas, oranges and apples. Boxes of dry coreals. Cooler hard boiled eggs.THree levels of pastries. One container of watermelon & strawberries. Two wall mounted flat screens for morning news or Boston spots. There are children's chairs. The breakfast was filling & tasty. The lobby is huge. In the center-on a raised platform- are eight large tables surrounded by type of plant life. A short walk is a arcade with Frigght Fear Land Hot Stuff, pick-up of animals,, Time Busters, a pichup ball unit, A Lighthouse machine & a Stacher. Also a bill changer along with soda & snack machine. THis B.W. has an All-Star Bar & Grill Zachary's Restauraant. There are four elevators with each unit making some type of noise. The doors will shut quickly. I learned to stand between # 2 & 3, which gave me a chance to get inside a unit before a door door closes. Most hotels I stayed at have sliding automatic doors, this facility has a large three section revoluting door, with a regular door to use one of four luggage carts. This facility does not use cast. To make a purchase I to use my credit card card at the front desk. On the fifth floor is a soda machine , whch takes no bills, just a cedit card. I want to thank the following staff: Quon & Corben afternoon &evening, Angle (male) during the morning, Galing-breakfast ara, & Anyer-morning. There was at least two other staff, however I never learned their. There is a swimming pool & fitness room. What is missing is a guest laundry. I can't say if there is a comuter is available. To describle this B.W. in one word would be LARGE. Large rooms, parking lot, lobby and breakfast. There are several restaurants within walking distance which are \\: Boston Market, Chipolte, McDonalds, Evviva Traittoia-Italian-110 Grill, Ben & Jerry's, Friendlys & Linguine Italian Eatery. Great menu, try the Meatball Lasagna. Some of these restaurants are across Boston Post Road, which is four lanes. The address for B.W. is 181 Boston Post Rd West, Marlborough, MA, however this is misleading, as the building is at leasat 3/8 of a mileoff Boston Post. If driving with a mall on the RIGHT,pass thru a traffic light, down the on Boston. Look for two medium trees on the RIGHT- which if Royal PLaza Drive which is half way down on the hill, this is where a person turns RIGHT towards the B.W. Once on Royal Plaza Drive be aware of a speed bump, just before the Royal Plaza Trade Centeer on the LEFT. There is a small bump sign just before driving over the bump. The should be at least 100 feet back. This was my second stay, only during this stay did I learn wher to turn off Boston Post Road. I hope these driving instructions off Boston Post Road are helpful. On my first visit I followed my GPS unit, which lead to the mall-on the right. I called B.W. explaining were I was and was told where to. I still have to learn where the facility was located. I read several negative reviews about the housecleaning. The problem is not just Best Western, most hotels in the U.S. have the same problem. I would stay again in the future. I recommend a stay.
Place is extremely dated and going through a renovation. They have a seriously long way to go - until then you get a 1980's dive. Enjoy the stains, smells, broken door locks, sagging mattresses, and so so much more! Check in, what time does the restaurant and bar open? Oh, the weekend. Well, that's nice, wouldn't have booked here, but ok. Look around, place is a ghost town. Other Hotels all up and down the strip are packed and this one isn't. NOT A GOOD SIGN. Ask for a room cot, six hours later it arrives at 10:30 pm. No wonder…place is a ghost town. One person working apparently the desk, and everything else. Next morning go to continental breakfast. Come back and my hotel room door is wide open. House keeping. It's 8:15 in the morning. Check out is 11. Don't blame the poor girl, she looked like the only person working. Meanwhile this whole area is bustling along very nicely. Lots of restaurants, Apex gaming facility, nice hotels…not THIS PLACE. Even the parking lot looked like a meteor slammed into it. Go somewhere else. Trust me.
The hotel is much larger than the usual Best Western, presumably designed for trade shows and similar events. It was not busy at all the night we stayed, and I don't think the restaurant was open...but the complimentary breakfast was very nice, a much better range of options compared to other properties. Otherwise, pretty much as expected. We did like the free upgrade to a larger room...but if it wasn't free, I would not have paid the extra money, since we don't spend that much time in the hotel room. My only complaint was how hard it was to get there when coming from the west on Route 20.
Stay was very good price was fair plenty of parking location was adequate breakfast was very good as well not a great TV menu and tub could use some cleaning nice pool that we didn't have time to use overall decent stay
Lovely room. Very clean room and bathroom. Great breakfast, Comfortable lobby area. Location very good. Reasonable price. All in all, it was a fine place to stay for a local college graduation. Will stay here for the next graduation!
The hotel was outdated from the 70s gym equipment machines were broken filthy. Rooms were not clean and found hair in the bathtub. Hotel staff house keeping response time is slow waited two hours for towels
I thought it was overpriced for the amenities i received. In other words what i got i could have gotten the same thing at reasonably priced best western or some other same quality hotel. The room was noisy. All heard all night was a dripping sound from a outside gutter drain.
The whole experience is one I don't ever want to repeat. Using covid as an excuse to not make it an enjoyable and relaxing trip. Had to empty my own garbage, make my own bed and go to front desk to request towels. Rooms are outdated and unsafe with no screens on a window that opens it was nice enough weather to open them but wasps got in the room because of it.
Stayed here in March, 2022. In the middle of the night, I reached out my hand under the covers in the bed and found a used crack pipe in the bed. It's bad enough to find drug paraphernalia in a hotel room (especially during a 12-step convention!) but the fact that it was in the bed means that the sheets were not changed from the last guest. I brought this to the attention of hotel management; they were pretty blasé about it (I definitely got the sense that it's not the first time it has happened) and gave me a different room and a free bottle of water. No kidding. I then brought it to the attention of Best Western customer service and have had no response from them whatsoever.
The hotel is rundown and starting to show signs of are and neglect. Bathroom dirty and carpet needs to be steam cleaned. Breakfast was not good. No table service. Don't blame COVID, its been two years. Bar/Restaurant not open on Thursday night.
We always enjoy our stay at this hotel. The rooms are good and staff is very accommodating. When we have needed anything extra -the staff went out of there way to try and help us. We would always recommend this
While the lobby and breakfast restaurant were beautiful and the location was nice, the room felt like it was straight from the early 2000's (tv, shower curtain, heater/AC and all). The restaurant/ free breakfast was a legitimate restaurant and not the usual free breakfast that Best Western typically does. While that's nice, just make sure to wear shoes as I just walked down expecting the usual and wasn't wearing any! Also while they are pet friendly, there are not any easy access potty spots so I recommend bringing potty pads! Great service and friendly staff, though!
Hotel staff were rude, not helpful. Elevators sounded like they were going to break down and had to wait at LEAST 5 min each time for one. Hotel was noisy. No hot tub. Very mediocre hotel and the food was lousy.
I loved my stay here…with the exception of a few things. The bed, shower and room overall was terrific however the breakfast selection and tv had little choice so although I was comfortable there were downsides
Spent 2 nights at a convention there. Staff and amenities at event were great. Room was average - clean but lamp missing shade, teeny tiny fridge, no chair at table/desk. Fine for the event rate paid.
The only thing nice about this hotel was the staff, they were pleasant, extremely helpful, empathic, and hard working (very understaff from previous visits before Covid), that being said the place should be demolished and construct a new hotel.
I travel often from SC to MA and have stayed at quite a few locations. This one, by far, is the best one I've encountered. Location is ideal, rooms were clean and cozy, the breakfast buffet is absolutely amazing. Pool, kids activities, amazing location that I highly recommend.
Hotel was in a good location- close to a lot of things- restaurants and an APEX. Hotel was clean just older . Restaurant/bar was closed except for free breakfast buffet. Kind of quiet not much going on. No pressure in shower water at all. Overall was an average place to stay!
We chose this hotel for the location, pool and grab n go breakfast. Location was fine, hotel seems a little dated. The pool was cold, we couldn't connect to WiFi, and there was not an option for a grab and go breakfast.
location of the facility was great. The service was great from beginning to end. rooms are big enough. staff were very welcoming. the location was pet friendly. it was close to eating areas and sports arenas.
The staff was awesome, friendly, helpful and went out of their way to do anything to make our stay pleasant. The breakfast was sumptuous, with warm and cold items and take out boxes provided. Super comfy beds and pillows, will stay again.
The staff tried but the management needs to make the guests feel safer by requiring the staff to wear masks and letting us know they have been vaccinated. Rooms should be cleaned more frequently. The breakfast was hot but not up to their previous standards. I previously stayed at another hotel which did require masks and kept the food area safer.
The maids are wonderful and the rooms are very clean the front desks workers are great the pool is good the breakfast is great I give this place a 5 stars I have visited this place over 10 times never had a bad experience I also like that there pet friendly this will b where I always stay when I. In the area
The staff was awesome!!! From our front desk experience with Brandon to drinks at the bar with Nick to quickly getting extra pillows etc from Mummahmed and a speedy check out with the manager everything was friendly and efficient!!
Family business has necessitated frequent visits to the Marlborough area from out of state. The Best Western Royal Plaza is not only a convenient location for me, the accommodations are very comfortable and the hotel has become my “home away from home”! The staff is very friendly and the customer service is great. It's so nice to see Corban and Laurel's smiling faces when I check in. It isn't often that one stays at a hotel the size of the Royal Plaza and finds the General Manager engaged in conversations with patrons. Arthur Correa is that kind of Manager and sets a great example for his team. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I visit the area.
The staff is very pleasant and the location is convenient to the major highways. There are many restaurants, grocery stores, fast food chains within walking distance to this hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are traveling through this area.
I stayed here at the Best Western Marlborough for a few nights and thought this place was terrible. Very understaffed (probably due to economic effects of Covid), and I could see they did have a sign outside about now hiring. It was very noisy. An idiot staying in the room next to me was blasting music at 2AM. They gave me a room close to the elevator and had no other rooms to move me to. I would estimate 80% of the people were not wearing masks even though we are still in the middle of a pandemic (as of Oct, 2021). No one wearing masks on the elevators either. City of Boston has an indoor mask mandate, but in Marlborough I guess they do not. CDC recommends anywhere there is substantial transmission (middlesex county fits this) that people wear masks indoors even if fully vaccinated. Not only does the hotel not give a toot about Covid, they do not provide enough blankets at check in. It's very hard to get a human to appear at the front desk as the person is asleep at the wheel all the time. Hand Sanitizer dispensers on each floor were empty and never refilled (no one else staying there cared since I guess they assume their vaccination is 100% effective and the CDC doesn't know what they're talking about). I would not stay here again.
Easy to get to, right off Rte. 495. There are a lot of stores and restaurants within a few minutes drive. Lots of rooms for meetings. Plenty of free parking. Set back from the main road so there is no traffic noise at all. Large Trade Center for trade shows.
The rooms were very noisy (running toilet, clanky fridge) Dirty (my socks were very dirty walking across the carpet, bathroom floors cleaned in the middle) Only items in bathroom, two shower towels, no washcloths or hand towels or extra TP. No wake up call (phones did not work). No help from reception staff at all, would not even call us a taxi.
I was lucky to have towels and facecloth for my recent stay. Some rooms had none for a couple of days. I guess it's a good thing the breakfast room wasn't vacuumed because I found a pin I had dropped the day before. Breakfast was decent although not as varied and generous as other years. Coffee was terrible until long time employee returned on Saturday. In room coffee maker was a cheap single cup maker. Either Wolfgang Puck coffee is terrible or coffee maker doesn't brew long enough. Finally figured out if I wet the paper pod the coffee seemed to have flavor. My last night I wasn't able to have dinner until 8pm and asked for take out. It then took the hostess almost an hour to discover the kitchen was out of what I had ordered. I gave up waiting. Friends continued to wait. Got seated, ordered hamburgers to keep things simple but didn't get back to their room until 11pm. We're used to splitting bill with a roommate but their new accounting system doesn't allow it. All goes on one charge card. Never try to eat in the hotel restaurant on a Saturday night.
The service is poor from the minute you walk in! Very disorganized! My room was disgusting!! It smelled bad and my bathtub had all kinds of black stuff in the bottom. I would look elsewhere! It's overpriced for the quality!
This place is a dump. Gross, dirty, poorly staffed, dark, dingy, unfriendly. Breakfast substandard. Had to pickup towels, toilet paper and tissues at front desk. Bathroom smelled. Does not deserve Best Western status. Bad Western more appropriate.
The staff goes the extra steps to make your stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast is an excellent added value and the staff during the breakfast, were exceptional. I noticed one staff member was at the restaurant the night before and back working at 6AM. I appreciated their excellent service.
Broken AC, charged me three (3) times for my stay. Waiting for resolution. The service tech was very professional and arranged for transfer to another room due to failed AC. The restaurant personnel were polite, professional and pleasant. My room access card failed twice as did many other guests and the front desk staff suggested it was not the property's fault.
We attended a large regional conference . COVID precautions were in place and the majority of attendees were compliant. We were pleased to have a hot breakfast available and included. Although the shortage of food service staff made it impossible to have a full menu at the restaurant, the choices available were varied and excellent. The conference banquet that we attended was served efficiently and the food was hot and tasty. Our room was clean and well maintained, as was the entire facility.
Me and my family checked in after midnight. Let me checked into our room I went into the bathroom and my one year old followed me found a blue pill on the floor which was left behind from the previous guest. She almost put it in her mouth but I caught her that pill would have killed her. When I reported it that night they pushed it off I called again in the morning to let them know what happened a manager came and talked to me but acted like it wasn't a big deal. Our room was filled with cobwebs leftover chapstick from the person before us and food on the floor. We were there for a soccer tournament so I will not be returning there again but if you're looking for somewhere to stay in that area look elsewhere
They want to check me in my room after driving six hours in the room was dirty the beds were made on the tiles on the floor and water bottles everywhere had to go back downstairs room move all her stuff again
I didn't select the site as I was attending a meeting but I was pleased with the facility and the staff was attentive and helpful. I have known the man who chose the site for many years and I knew he would do a great job, which he did.
Although they tried to update the lobby somewhat, the exterior and rooms are very, very dated. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and bathrooms impossible to get clean due to age. Shower head was set at below 6 feet (I'm 6'3"). Staffing is limited and could not help us if they needed to leave the desk. Room hallways are not air conditioned - you get hit by hot muggy air when getting off the elevator. Rooms have old loud air conditioners - couldn't sleep. No hair dryers in every room. Staff wouldn't help...just had to search for an open unoccupied room to grab one. Stayed for two night and trash bags littered the hallway the entire time. Tried to extend my stay because a hurricane canceled my flight - they hit me with a much higher rate. When I asked for a lower rate, front desk person just looked at me and said no. Couldn't care less that I was stranded. I booked a room at a newer hotel across the street for $60 less per night. In this area, there are several hotel options - avoid this one.
The hotel room was dirty and disgusting! The white bed spread had brown stains, the towel hook fell off the bathroom wall, there were hair balls and a wrapper on the floor in the bathroom upon arrival. After using the same towels for three days, I asked for clean ones three times in one day and never received them. The restaurant had poor service and our bills were all mixed up. The leak stained ceilings did not look appealing.
Outstanding front desk staff!! Worked quickly and kindly to address our needs. Thanks especially to Corben, Laurel, Andrew and Manny (security). Only complaint was pool room needs ventilation as it was a sauna.
I was checked in very quickly and the staff were very nice. The rooms were well cleaned and I felt safe. I was unable to use many of the amenities during my stay since I was only staying for one night and had to leave relatively early, but it was a very comfortable stay nonetheless.
Couldn't find TV remote until looking under bed. There it was along with a personal pillow for a dog. Come on BW you can do better. Still not offering continental breakfast, still Grab and Go. Other BW are doing the breakfast.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay despite the mandated Covid restrictions. The staff was courteous, friendly and went out of their way to help. I definitely recommend this Best Western Hotel location to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the Marlborough area.
The hotel was filthy the staff was more like a staff infection the water pressure in the shiwer was non existant and i had to but a $3 bottle of water because the front desk told me they would not sell me water. Do stay here stay in your car!
We pulled in and there was trash all over the parking lot and the lobby had dirty tables all over it. After a significant wait to check in we got to our room which was okay.. The pool had no towels and it took 45 minutes to get some to dry off. There was kids running up and down the halls till past midnight playing hockey. We couldn't find staff any where for anything we needed. The breakfast set up was a joke with only one person working it. We couldn't find anyone to check out. We were supposed to stay two nights but decided to find another place to stay. They did comp our room, I will give them that. This hotel is tired and extremely understaffed . We certainly won't be back.
Very clean well run hotel. Stayed here monthly all through the pandemic , the staff was and is always friendly and helpful. Room is always clean and fresh. Well run hotel with great staff. Highly recommended.
We were given a room that had not been cleaned, one bed was stripped, there were no towels, there was dried urine on the toilet seat. the bed linens were heaped in a chair, Shower was dripping. Not a good experience
Rooms, elevator, halls, and lobby look very outdated. Pool area had lots of chipped paint, no air circulation, very hot, and nowhere for water on floor to drain. Our non smoking room smelled musty and of smoke. The staff was friendly, helpful, efficient. The hotel looked visibly clean and I felt safe.
I cant explain how wonderful this hotel is I came with my family and its awesome the General Manager Arturo is an extraordinary person he tries to accomandate you as much as he can When i went my room was missing blankets and towels they accomandated me right away into a different room with no issues. The pool is great and i appreciate the fact they still give out complimentary breakfast to take to your room, the rooms were very nice and comfortable i will say this is such a great family oriented place
It has been my pleasure to stay . All staffs were very helpful . Front Desk people were good . John and Joanne were superb the way they entertained me . I would recommend people to visit here . Once buffet services start this will be a perfect place to stay . I will surely come once more .
The people were very nice and helpful. Great place cause its pet friendly and I go everywhere w my little Puppita! Quite a few parks w nice wilderness trails, lots of fun. The manager John is very friendly, always makes sure you have what you need w a smile.
Easy and friendly check in. Great customer service. Recommend checking the shower to make sure the water drains. Walking distance to local restaurants and entertainment complex. The hotel is reasonably priced.
Laurel at the front desk has been extremely helpful and incredibly polite the extremely well at multitasking I've been staying here for about 4 months and no matter how many people are at the front desk she make sure that nobody feels like they're being ignored I honestly could not say enough good things about her and it's really nice she always greets with such a friendly smile I have recommended this hotel to numerous family and friends of mine because of Laurel my brother just recently stayed here 3 weeks ago and he was very happy I would really like to personally thank Laurel before making my stay here feel like I'm at home and always being so friendly and accommodating
This hotel is one of the best hotels iv ever stayed inn everyone that works there are so awesome John what a great guy always gets you what you need and always looking to give everyone a hand. ashley great personality always so nice to people you can tell she will go far in the company thank you Ashley your a great worker.. author very cool GM and to everyone else .. and I think his name is Chris he works over night shift great guy .. o and I can't forget Andrew the new kid that is doing a great job very nice always has a smile going so everyone made my stay awesome thank you team .. very clean good job housekeepers
I have used this facility during the past year for programs I put on. They go our of their way to meet and exceed my expectations Well done. Front desk managers make you feel welcome. Needed luggage carts to setup for my programs. When none were available on my last stay, Laurel and John went out of their way to find one and knocked on my room door in the morning with plenty of time to setup
Excellent customer service, super comfortable rooms, good breakfast and cleanliness. Recommended. I would really go back to this Hotel. Excellent location. Has a lot of entertainment nearby. Enchanted with everything
excellent service. the employees super good cleaning super good. 100/100 the pool super clean the breakfast super good really if i had to go back to boston i would go back to this hotel... I recommend it
front desk staff was always polite, helpful, and accommodating. was in a situation where I needed a place to stay for a couple months. Hotel staff was amazing, helpful, and made the situation I was in a little less stressful
I honestly don't know where to begin. First the short blonde lady, had an attitude and was not, I repeat was not approachable. The overnight staff is never around but when he is, he is a grumpy man. One day there's an ambulance the next there's a swarm of cops going up the elevators and invading the floor I was staying in. It all felt like a roller coaster ride. Is it the Batman? The Superman? No it's the Joker, because I got a good laugh at the highs and lows I (i think everyone) went through, throughout this stay. The only plus side to this amusement park was the check in front desk person I believe his name was Gary or something like that and the young lady with him. They were a great team and are always running around trying to accommodate what seemed like every single guest. Gary was rockstar and deserves a million dollars for going out of his way to make sure my stay was taken care of (even though the tag team partners came in on my second night there) they turned everything around for me. I checked out 2 days later because I just didn't feel safe regardless. Wont forget Gary or that young lady he was with(not the blonde lady I first dealt with).Wish I grabbed more names because she was just rude all around.
A few minor things I did not like; The same hard spring mattresses that I had as a kid, a sheet thin comforter and unsupportive pillows, very slow service and the everyday muffin and cereal breakfast. The good things is the staff is very nice, the property is nice but not everything is operating due to covid, beautiful lobby, great amenities. The beds were the deal breaker and probably will not be going there again.
After a long 2 days of driving from Tennessee I had the pleasure of walking into bet western and reserving my night with a young lady named Ashley. She's polite, enthusiastic and funny. Informed me of all amenities and breakfast hours+locations, and while keeping me informed also kept a smile on her face which was very welcoming. At the end of everything she told me that if I needed anything she'd be there till 11 and she'd be more than happy to help with anything I needed. 10/10 best front desk agent I've ever encountered.
This hotel is my favorite hotel in the New England region because of Ashly perfect services. Extremely heart warming and friendly, very supportive, positive attitude, very relatable to me (to all her customers). She made sure that my stay was very comfortable. She takes her job seriously because she cares for her customers. She's on time with our services, at the front desk. She takes her time to explain to me the rules of the hotel while being a sweetheart. Honestly, I've never seen such great customer service and I couldn't go on living without writing a review; wish more were like her. I came back for another night because of her. Cherish her !
The front desk agent Ashley was very helpful, and extremely polite! I'm glad every interaction I had was with her. She gave excellent food and activity recommendations, and was very interactive. She even helped me open the lobby doors, exceptional service.
Service and cleanliness was horrible. Was not informed at booking that restaurant was closed. Front desk would not honor points. Did not know how to adjust bill. Elevator had dirty clothes in it. Floor smelled of weed dead flies in room and old blueberries in fridge mold in shower
I love the friendliness of the staff and the check in and check Out experience with John was stress free. The manager of the hotel is very friendly and always checks in with the guest. I recommend bringing snacks because the food selection isn't the best.
Had a slight booking issue unrelated to the service or the center here at the hotel. So therefore I have to overlook that experience and rate everything that I've had here to be a most pleasant experience thank you.
I stay here whenever I travel to this area. The lobby was much different than my last visit due to COVID and hotel construction. Nevertheless the staff was pleasant and the room was nice. I was slightly disappointed that I was not recognized as a Diamond member but was not a real big deal.
We stayed here because we were attending a dance competition being held there. The hotel is currently under renovation and leaves much to be desired and was not mentioned when booking online. The check in desk was a table set up to the side (didn't know until we walked around for 5 minutes). There was little to no staff to assist especially with an event taking place. We had made a reservation for 4 guests in a king suite. When we got to the room there were no linens for sofa bed, there were ants in the bathroom and overall not well maintained or clean (especially with Covid). Breakfast was advertised to be included with the room rate (with modifications because of Covid such as individually wrapped items) and all we saw was premade cups of coffee or juice sitting out. With several hotel options in the area I would stay elsewhere.
Pool was refreshing. Breakfast includes much more than just cereal. Front desk was accommodating, and friendly. Housekeeping is honest. Forgot my phone and they turned it in. My room was spotless upon arrival. No hair in shower, plenty of towels, and overall an enjoyable experience.
Good luck finding it at night. It's tucked behind the plaza with the entrance down the road. The bed was hard as a rock with little to no blankets. The shower took forever to warm up and had a broken off handle. The only highlight was the sweetheart at the front desk. She was very helpful and pleasant. I'd go somewhere else.
The hotel was under renovation and the lobby had the look of a construction site. The front desk person was friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet and very clean. The parking lot was dimly lit due to multiple burned-out or non-functional overhead lights. there were strange vagrants roaming the lot all hours of the night. While the staff was very nice, I'd probably find another place to stay in the future.
Found this hotel doing a google search. The price was only $54 per night and I thought I would be in for a terrible hotel. Not the case. Would stay here again. I think the price was low because of COVID 19 but anyway it turned out to be a good choice. Breakfast is limited because of the COVID. But we have a fridge and mico. So it's works
The Royal Plaza sure was a welcome oasis for a couple travellers heading North during the COVID 19 crisis. Entering the lobby area reassured us this establishment was taking the crisis seriously, and had taken measures to ensure the safety of both their guests and their staff. Little things like moving lobby furniture aside to allow for social distancing, a plexiglass protective shield at the check-in counter, hand sanitizers readily available, clerk wearing safety equipment, etc .eased some of our safety concerns. Our room was well-equipped, very clean, beds and pillows very comfortable. very quiet.. all provided for a restful night's sleep. In the morning, we went to the new makeshift breakfast area where we were warmly greeted by a charming and pleasant hostess. we were offered several options for our Grab 'n Go breakfast bag (because of the virus restrictions), and it was a nutritious breakfast - choice of juices, yogurt, fruit, nutrition bars, coffee, etc. - all presented from behind a table (social distancing!). We would definitely recommend this establishment as a comfortable, clean, friendly nice place to stay!
The staff was excellent, the rooms were nice, Restaurant was very good. Bar service was very good. Everything was very clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent. When I needed more pillows they brought them right up to my room with no wait.
This hotel is under construction, but that's not the problem. They have a communication problem. First, the main entrance is closed, but there is no sign or indicator of which door we should use. We walked over to the left, wrong. Go to the right, and finally find a door. A smoky entrance actually. Then, I had asked ahead of time what the pool hours are because I knew we'd be getting there late. I was told the wrong hours. Kids were walking down in their bathing suits all excited and then they get disappointed. We get ready to go in the morning during the posted hours. Nope. Closed with no indication why or for how long. Front desk knew NOTHING. More disappointment. Then we go to breakfast. They way it is set up, we sit where we want and get our own food, but because someone is getting our drinks, we're expected to tip. All the other Best Westerns are self-serve and probably one of the reasons we book them. Probably won't be coming back to this one.
The hotel was great, but the highlight was breakfast because Jeffrey was amazing. Not only was he a quick and efficient, but he was personable and made for a personalized experience. I cannot say enough how great he was!!
The room is clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is outdated and some TLC, however, we did get a good nights sleep, and the breakfast was very good. The grounds had a lot to be desired, and the no smoking by the front door was not enforced, cigarette butts were strewn about everywhere. Overall the stay was fine. I believe that a little more care needs to be taken on the grounds. Some updating was going on in the front lobby, so that is a good start. The breakfast tasted very good, better than a lot of hotel breakfast. So that was a plus. It was a good quiet location too. The hotels just needs an overhaul.
good facility for this type of stay most of staff was friendly except bartender he seemed to not enjoy his job and was not acting like a typical bartender . with a family group for a hockey tournament and it perfect
Hotel: very friendly personel but a bit old fashioned hotel. I was unable to find the fitness location in the hotel. The bed sheets are statically charged and it takes a while to get hot water in the room. Location: the hotel is located at the backside of the post road. The GPS wasn't able to find the exact location. Close to all the restaurants.
The accommodations were excellent and the staff was a step above that!! The staff was top notch in making our entire youth hockey program comfortable so we are going back again January 24th 2020!! I have been involved in this Marlboro Hockey tournament for 6 years, and we chose to return to the Best Western after our great experience last year! We have heard the horror stories from other programs at other hotels for these tournament stays, and we tell them all where it's at!! Coach Glen
Quick, easy, clean, affordable. This review wants 200 characters so I guess I'll keep typing, but really, it's a hotel. I don't know what else you want me to say. It had a bed? Some pillows? askdas;lkd
Comfortable room and bed.The restaurant is understaffed and needs improvement. The bartenders were attentive and friendly.Breakfast was[buffet] fine and the staff in the morning was attentive and friendly. We stayed on property for the event attended for 3 days 2 nights. We've stayed here for many years for this particular yearly event and it's served us well for the most part over those years. You do have other options close by in both lodging and food service. This location just works best for our stay.
Our room was clean and spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room temperature was easy to control, the hotel is located very close to restaurants and retail stores and the breakfast was plentiful.
Had a great stay. Staff was friendly. Only thing negative was the breakfast. It wasn't terrible it just needs some work. Thank you Cameron, Luke, John, & Ms. Ryan. You guys made this trip and stay very enjoyable. I appreciate how friendly and welcoming you all were. Keep up the excellent work!!!!
we love all the affairs here; Deb Webb is a piece of magic. She sees that everything is in the correct place, dashing about effortlessly. The folk running the affairs never need to worry that something will be out of place. When it is busy, Deb Webb seems to thrive on the energy. She is a main reason we cannot tear ourselves away from this great location - Royal Plaza and Trade Center Best Western.
Went from 12/30 through 1/1 and room was clean and as advertised, however, was very disappointed with the breakfast bar which served runny cold eggs and hard as rock French toast. Also the waffle maker was not working correctly I had to use my phone to time it myself and the dispenser for the batter was also not working correctly. For lunch went to the lounge downstairs that has a sign open from 1130am to 10pm daily that we found out wasn't opening until that evening the room service never picked up their phone so I had to have delivery. Went there for dinner and the all star lounge was very overpriced and apparently understaffed as it took 30 minutes to make a steak and cheese sandwich for the only customer there. So if you need a room it is nice but don't expect food or an open restaurant on site.
The staff members were very helpful and the pool was an OK size for the kids. There's a small game room and workout room. The bar was a good size but we didn't eat at the restaurant. The lobby looks good but after that the hotel is SO outdated. Dark, dingy feeling hallways with old carpeting. Everything feels like it's from the 90's and our room smelt like stale cigarette smoke. No robes to use to get to and from the pool. There was a mini refrigerator, a microwave and a hair dryer (we didn't use any of them). The 'free' breakfast didn't taste good at all. Of the 5 of us, everyone left food on their plate and we ate elsewhere. We canceled our second night and stayed with friends instead.
Excellent, top notch hotel and people that work there. Amazing breakfast!! Our stay was 7 days long and everyday it seemed like the staff made sure our stay was perfect. The room we stayed in was great, it had a sitting area (living room) and the bedroom was off the sitting area. The make up of the room itself made the whole experience very pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone that wants to feel like they're home while being away.
Welcoming and clean.we always look forward to going back.Rooms are spacious. Restaurant has a fabulous breakfast with a large selection to pick from. We never fell rushed. Staff are very pleasant. Looking forward to our next visit.
Check in and out was very quick and easy. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Complimentary breakfast included a full breakfast of hot and cold choices. Best part was dogs are allowed and you can request to stay a little past check out for no extra cost. Which was great for us due to getting in late from a very long drive and didn't want to rush to leave in the morning.
What I love about this hotel is the staff, cleanliness, beds, breakfast, and many other amenities. I have stayed here over 10 times for different hockey tournaments with my kids and it is always great. The breakfast is always really good, and has a lot of options for kids and a lot of fresh fruit and yogurt as well as 2 kinds of eggs and great bacon. The beds here are firm and they provide lots of pillows, which is how I like to sleep. Every interaction with the staff was pleasant and they always make sure you go away happy. It also is in a great location with a ton off food options 2 mins away, including 5 guys, panera, 99 restaurant and Chipotle.
$250 FRAUD! I do NOT smoke. When I checked my credit card statement, I was charged US$343.48 for a one night's stay! The emailed (and physically received) receipt and agreed upon price was $93.48 for one night!! Choose another hotel to avoid this problem.
We attend an annual conference every year with a large group of student leaders. There are over 500 young adults who attend this event and this hotel and their staff make it run smoothly every time. With a group this size, I'm always amazed at how clean the rooms and facilities are and the fact that they are able to accommodate the needs of our event. I've seen the same faces year after year and it's comforting to know what I can find Debi in the kitchen to ensure I have enough vegetarian meals for our students. Great hotel, great staff!
April, from banquets went over and beyond her responsibilities. I had told her that I loved iced coffee earlier in the day so when we regathered for a break (was attending a SkillsUSA leadership training), she had set up a bowl of ice and tall drinking cups so that me or anyone else who wanted to, could make an iced coffee. She did this on her on initiative. That's customer service at its best.
For an older hotel, this place was more than adequate. Elevators can be a bit slow. Conference facility is large. Lobby modern. My room was on fifth floor and was quiet and comfortable. Lots of restaurants and stores close by. Not far off the interstate. Hotel is an hour from MHT.
I came here for a conference for work. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and there was a variety of food to chose from, both hot and cold. Staff were very friendly!
We stayed for a soccer tournament in the area... kids had a blast in the pool, food was grwat in the lounge and staff was very friendly and eager to please!!! Excellent service, we would definitely stay Best Western again!
The sports bar is horrible. The service was slow and the food was terrible. The rooms were clean and check out was quick . Breakfast in the other dining area was good and so was the service. I would use the hotel again but the sports bar was a big disappointment.
The hotel seemed a little dated, but we were running on fumes! We were just coming back from a 36 hour travel via plane. It was a great location to the ice rinks we were at. The price was just right. They were very accomodating as we were a last minute reservation.
Very kind and thoughtful staff. Saw to our needs at breakfast lunch and dinner and didn't mind us staying to finish up coffee when breakfast turned over. Debbie Webb runs an incredibly tight ship! And even went the extra mile to have a conversation with me about the area and recommended a great realtor. 5 star service for sure!
My associate and I attended a Nail Tech event the weekend of October 26 - 28. I have attended this event previously and a big part of the decision to return is the consistently exceptional service we receive in Marlboro, MA. Specifically, John, the front desk manager exceeds expectations at every turn - from providing us with water bottles, dinner suggestions, shuttle rides to explore the immediate area, etc. They had a full house on the weekend we were there this year and John had a lovely humour at every interaction. I'd also like to acknowledge the support of Debi, Food and beverage supervisor. Again, she went above and beyond in her support of us - from food sensitivities to the logistics of shipping and receiving at this location, she was knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks to everyone on the teams who contribute to making our events a success!
Fast and efficient check in service! Friendly Staff! Nice clean Room and Lobby! Breakfast Buffet was very good, Staff was very friendly and accommodating. When ever I am in this area Best Western Marlboro will be my 1st choice.
This hotel was very quiet and comfortable. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful- The Front Desk Folks, The Sales Office Folks, the Food and Beverage Folks, as well as the Conference Housemen and the AV Tech. The dinner we had in the restaurant onsite was excellent. It is conveniently located and would be a great place to hold a conference or meeting. There is plenty of parking, too, which seems to be rare in big city hotels.
Great price, location, food and hotel! I loved the breakfast. They helped with my gluten free allergy. The beds were very comfortable and they had black out shades so the room was dark so I could sleep better.
We were there for a hockey tourney and the staff was great. Very accommodating. Good food, clean rooms. Kids had a blast swimming. We used the banquet rooms. They even provided an early breakfast before our 6am start time. Lots of nearby restaurants and things to do.
I think the hotel has some upgraded rooms, but our junior suite was not one of them. It was mainly clean but 'tired' for sure. The room was cleaned well for the first 6 days of our holiday (50th anniversary trip) but certainly not on the last two. We did inform reception when we left. Food choices were very average. It was OK but I wouldn't go again. Maybe it is more geared to conference facilities.
We stay here when we are in the area and this hotel is a quality place to stay with friendly staff and a great breakfast included with your stay! It's nice and quiet and we will definitely continue to stay when we are in the area.
This hotel is large with plenty of parking and convenient to restaurants as well as the New England Sports Center. The room was good size with comfortable sitting chair and king bed. Mattress and pillows were great. All of the staff were friendly.
This is a very good hotel with exceptional friendly professional staff. The front desk manager in the evenings, John, was outstanding. We arrived late in the evening and he was welcoming and took good care of us.
The quietest heater/air conditioner we've ever experienced - absolutely loved it. Property is in very good condition and rooms are up-to-date. Breakfast buffet is fine. We went during a busy weekend and paid close to $200 per night and felt that was a bit on the high side. It was one of the few available hotels close to Hampton, NH (an hour away). Would stay here again.
We stay at a hotel every weekend while waiting for our new apartment to be ready. The Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel has all the amenities we look for and we are happy every time we stay. It's somewhere we look for each time we are going to the area, as we enjoy all it has to offer.
The hotel is spacious and has all the amenities you could need. The breakfast restaurant is good. You can go buffet or cooked to order. The bar and restaurant are also serviceable for lunch and dinner. I liked that the location is off the street and very quiet. The decor is a bit dated but the hotel works quite fine for a business or convention traveler.
Beautiful hotel, very clean rooms, plenty of parking. Breakfast was excellent with well prepared items and excellent quality. Staff in breakfast area was very friendly. We did not find the onsite restaurant was not appealing, lack of interesting items to choose from.
While the property has opportunities in its overnight experience (recycle bins in rooms, better (read: newer) linens), when it comes to service (calling out Cameron and Kath K on the desk and the wait staff in the restaurant the morning of September 10), Best Western Royal Plaza is top of line. I presented at a conference on the 10th of September and had to stay the night before. Not only was the set up for the event ideal for seating, equipment, and acoustics, the food served was terrific. Buffet cooking is not easy, and as someone with a lot of experience when it comes to hotel food, this is impressive. The rooms are spacious, and breakfast included, along with the staff service contribute to stays at this hotel being of good value.
Year after year, the staff at this facility makes sure that everything goes smooth & it does! Thank you to Arthur, Debi, Sean, Jeff, Ledi and the entire crew. Food was served on time, meeting rooms set, and housekeeping was excellent.
I had another great stay at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center. From checking in with Luke who made sure my bags were taken to my room, to the attentive management, to my recently updated room with a very comfortable bed, to Debi Webb who personally who went out of her way to insure all my food needs were perfectly taken care of, it was once again as usual a truly great stay.
It's a little confusing to find the entrance to this Best Western. Although you can see it from the road, up above the big shopping center, go past the stores. There you'll see their entrance sign. Everything else is perfect. Although it's a little old, the staff does a good job of maintaining the facility. Room —- clean, good bed, good shower, good amenities. Breakfast —- full buffet served in Zachary's restaurant. Plenty of staff to keep things clean and well stocked. Facilities —- they have an indoor pool without a hot tub, a well equipped workout room, and outdoor patio seating. Highly recommend.
Excellent stay. The beds are very nice and comfortable. At the banquet the manager Deb, was very accommodating and asked us how we liked everything. Very nice atmosphere especially in the lobby at the BW. I highly recommend it.
As always the staff was extremely cordial and helpful. Deb Webb, the food and beverage manager was very supportive with my friends allergies to many foods. She made sure she was getting what she required. Her bar and restaurant staff could not have been more helpful. Mark and Sean took care of the herd of people eatting and drinking with great aplomb. You can't ask for better service than what we got while we were there. Thank you all for a great year once again I hope to see you all next year!
Very comfortable, staff were anxious to help when needed. Rooms are clean and accessible to the areas where we needed to be. The beds were clean and comfortable and the area was quiet, even though most rooms were full. The problem I encountered was people with dogs in the same wing and this caused me to have allergy and respiratory problems. there are several wings in the hotel and they could have a section just for people with pets that do not intersect with people without pets.
The BW Staff was outstanding, the room was clean, the bed was incredibly comfy, the bathroom was well stocked and the daily breakfast was delicious, offering two selections of scrambled eggs, a waffle station, yogurt, oatmeal and fresh fruit.
[8/8] My dad and I stayed in the same BW Royal Plaza Hotel on our way up to the Annual Winter Harbor Lobster Festival (& Acadia National Park), as we did in August 2017. Nice spacious foyer with a swimming pool, game room, fitness area, lounge, 2 restaurants, pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay. Plenty of wheelchair accessible parking, easy entrance into the hotel lobby, and our wheelchair accessible room was the BEST I've stayed at any Best Western in the US or Canada...THIS room was done right (Thanks!)!. The complimentary breakfast was tasty & filling (we might have gotten it complimentary because I am a BW Rewards Member...free to join, so DO!). Very comfortable bed & pillows...I wish my bed and pillows at home were that comfortable. Very nice & helpful staff. My one area of improvement would be the on-site sports bar...there was a convention going on (same one as 2 years ago), and there appeared to be only 1 server for ALL the tables...so seating was slow, as was the service. Food wasn't bad tasting or bad priced, just slow service (which was weird considering that there was a convention going on, they could have had more restaurant Wait Staff for that weekend). Other than that, a very pleasant stay...I'm definitely looking forward to returning for another stay the next time I drive up to Maine, and would recommend others stay there too (join the BW Rewards program -- earn points for a free stay, etc.). Very nice! Go and enjoy!
I was here for the August 2019 NGH Conference, and arrived at about 4:00 am. Cameron greeted me and was able to secure a cart for me to unload my belongings. I was then able to bring them to my room. The staff at the front desk, housekeeping, and the restaurant were cordial and professional, able to respond to all my requests.
Great place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and personal service. Fast reliable wifi. Nice off road location with lots of parking. Lots of restaurants and stores on the nearby Post Road (Rte 20).
It's a lovely hotel with nice, quite and serene surroundings. The hotel is good , near and clean. It has access to nearby markets. Moderately priced hotel with courteous staff. Rooms are spacious and cool.
After a long trip on the road it was such a pleasure to retire to a great room with an extra comfortable bed. Had a wonderful night's sleep. This property has a great restaurant staff and front desk (check-in and check-out) staff.
Would not recommended to anyone I asked for two queen and I got two twin size beds 301 and 302 and smell like weed 100% not recommend to anyone worst hotel I've ever stayed at very disappointed with best Western
I highly recommend this hotel. I had to stay at another hotel just across the street from this on on the first night because Best Western was booked. I was happy to finish the remainder of my stay at Best Western. What a difference! So nice.
I was trying to print two pages in their business center. The printer isn't working, no one can fix it. They asked me to email my doc to them so they'll print from their internal office. I said no because my doc has my DOB and SSN. They said then that's it, you either email us it or we can't print it. Both the young lady and the older front desk manager had this kinds shrugging-shoulder-don't-care-not-helping attitude. THEY DIDN'T EVEN SAY SORRY! I was very annoyed and I yelled at them that I PAID THIS AMENITY! Then I threatened to check out. It's late in the night, and to save myself some hassle. I calmed myself down, then compromised and went into their internal office, logged into my person email in their staff PC, and printed out those two pages. They finally said sorry, which was a big improvement in terms of their attitude. BUT overall the experience is horrible! They have a small one room so called "business center" with two PCs and one printer that doesn't work and they said no one could fix it before I leave tomorrow. ARE YOU JOKING? YOU CAN'T FIX A PRINTER???? As a customer who paid $200 buck, I had to sit in their internal office and print myself. So humiliating! And plus sometime no one answered phone call from the room at the front dest. The room and hallway are somewhat outdated, not horrible though. The printer and their initial attitude are the major minus. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS PALCE. My advice: for a few bucks more, choose a different hotel nearby.
I have been staying at this hotel for many years and the experience is always outstanding. The staff, including manager Debbie, bartender Sean and receptionist John G and Luke are just great. Truly feel like this is home away from home. Thanks to all Jim Todaro
We stay here every year for Amma's visit and, shortly after arriving, we discovered that our daughter's stroller had somehow gotten out of whack. It comes apart in two pieces and one of the slots on the top piece had somehow gotten turned in the wrong direction. Our five-year-old daughter has special needs and can't sit or stand on her own. Her stroller is essential to her getting around and without it she would have had a very difficult time being a part of the weekend. The front desk directed us to John, who brought us a screwdriver, then a set of allen wrenches, none of which worked. He then offered to take it to his shop, where he tried everything to get the slot to move. Drills, wrenches, you name it. It wouldn't budge. He brought it back with a simple suggestion that we could try ourselves, no tools required. It worked like a charm and our daughter experienced Amma with no limitations. Special needs kids (and adults) face obstacles every day. Thanks to John, there was one fewer obstacle for our daughter that weekend. He's good people. Please pass on our thanks to him. :)
Wonderful helpful staff. Moderate atmosphere, good food and comfortable accomodations. Pleasant hotel that could use an updating on facility. Very comfortable visit overall! Will visit the area and stay here again next year!
Good professional staff/customer observed.Staff is ready to offer services. Front desk staff were quite friendly to customers. Away/but accessible to busy highway; making it ideal for meetings and educational forums. Spacious soundproof conference halls available.Hotel accessible to other major hotels and shopping plaza. I enjoyed my 2 nights stay in this hotel. Delicious pizza available on order.

Hot water for shower in 12 seconds-good speed for six floor facility. Bottles of shampoo, lotion & conditioner. A shower cap. Shower head is adjustable with very safe water for face & body. Full length counter & mirror. Hair dryer, however cord is short. No problem as I always bring my dryer. Coffee maker. Plenty of towels. Tile floor. Both sleeping & bath very clean. Breakfast: Hours 6:30-10:30. A staff of five people are available for helping. Two waggle maker-a steamer for warm maple syrup. Steamers for rolled blueberry pancakes, bacon, home fries-hash browns- scrambled eggs & eggs of the day-scrambled eggs, ham, cheese & peppers-very good. The facility's indoor pool is just down the hall from the arcade, with two connecting sections-adult & children. The children's section has handicapped lowering seat. Plenty of towels. Next door is the fitness center. The facility's restaurant is called the All-star Bar & Grill. Menu looked appetizing, however prices are expansive. The quest computers are located in the business room, down the hallway from the front desk, two computers & printer. In this area is a separate lounge with comfort chairs & small couches. One word can describe this Best Western-HUGE. Huge check-in desk, lobby, lounge, guest rooms Parking lot. Total number of guest rooms is 431. Four elevator, each on the some what noisy side with overhead speakers playing instrumental music. John gave me shpt tour of the first floor explaining about the facility's number of conference & lecture rooms, one reason for the huge parking lot. This B.W. is NOT located on 181 Boston Post Road W./R20, but at the end of Royal Plaza Drive which is just west down the hill-on the right-from a shopping plaza. This plaza has the following restaurants: Chipotle Mexican Grill, Boston Market, McDonald's, Longhouse Steakhouse, Five Guy's Burgers, & Japan One. Across Boston Post Road are more restaurants. The cleaning staff starts between 8:00 & 8:30. My cleaning staff lady was Charilo (S). She did an excellent job. If staying the future I hope she will be my cleaning staff member. There is one small factor that a first time guest must be aware of-nothing to do with the motel. Halfway on Royal Plaza Drive right in front of the Royal Plaza Trade Center is a large speed bump. A person will be unaware of the bump until almost right on top of it. There small signs warning of the bump, however much larger signs at least 75 feet before the bump would be helpful. The first encounter took me by surprise. Just be aware of the bump's existence. I want to thank the following staff-Karth & Karthine, afternoon, Luke & Trishaal-afternoon & evening & John John-morning & afternoon. There was two other staff however never got their names. Wouldn't hesitate to stay in the future. Factors: location-being off Boston Post Roads was quiet, clean room, the huge breakfast & staff.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover a decent hotel west of Boston that was under a hundred dollars a night. Our room was spacious, quiet, and clean. The complimentary breakfast buffet was better than most. I was at first disappointed to see no hot choices besides oatmeal, but then realized that there was another serving area on the opposite wall with eggs, breakfast meat, and waffles. For some reason, the hotel's computer wouldn't accept any of our credit or debit cards, so we ended up paying with cash, but Kath at the front desk was very helpful in navigating us through this unexpected turn of events. The drive into Boston can be long and tedious during rush hours, but if you're visiting areas in Boston's western suburbs, this is a very good choice. It's near several major freeways but just far enough from them that you won't hear any traffic noise. There are convenience shopping options nearby, as well as in downtown Marlborough..
We were on vacation and actually had a reservation at another hotel about 15 minutes away. We found the other hotel was run down and less than acceptable and decided to leave there. We called Best Western and thier friendly staff set us up at the last minute in a very nice pet friendly room at an excellent price. The room was very clean and the hotel had great amenities. I would highly recommend this Best Western location to vacationers and business travelers alike.
This hotel was great with plenty of free parking. The front desk staff were courteous and fast. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious with friendly wait staff. I had the best night's sleep in months in a comfortable bed.
I needed a room in the Marlboro area which was last minute. Booked room and when I arrived room was ready. Quick check in. Everything is clean. Great frontdesk staff. DIdn't use the pool during this stay but, will the next time.
Was at hotel and conference center for three nights. Room was spacious and clean. Food in restaurants was ok. Staff was nice. Good location for conference but not within walking distance to anything. Free parking!
The room was very clean and the beds quite comfortable. We really enjoyed our family get together in the lounge. Debi Web was most accommodating, as one of my sisters didn't really care for the wine that she ordered. Debi went above and beyond the call of duty to please my sister. Our meals were good as well.
We only stopped in for dinner and were quite surprised as to the quality and taste they provided. The waitress Debi Webb was just what we needed after a long drive, she was calming and friendly. We definitely will stop in again when down this way again. Highly recommend this restraint.
Thank you John Chagnon and Deb Webb for going over and beyond as always when we stay here. The two of then always great to deal with and make stuff happen. I would reccomend anyone who is staying there or thinking about staying there reach out to either or both of these two... Thanks for all your hard work and great service. Brings us back year after year....
Had a great two day stay here, the room was very clean and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. There was a conference here at the time and the hotel was full yet at night it was very quiet. Breakfast was very good as was the hotel's All-Star bar and grill, except for the bartending. When you are low on glenlivet you don't make it up with Drambuie you open another bottle of glenlivet!
Our family was there for a bible conference so location was convenient in that the conference was held at the same facility in which we stayed. There were several reasonably priced food and entertainment options in the area. However, the hotel was initially a little difficult to find. Liked that buffet style breakfast was included in our stay and the children were able to swim and workout while we were there.
Hotel was clean and good location. Room was spotless and modern. Restaurant was very good. Breakfast was included with room and very good. Staff was excellent. Parking was free and easy. Facilities were all well maintained and clean.
Everything was nearly comfortable except unfriendly bartenders in the lounge, dirt on the bathroom floor BUT breakfast restaurant was outstanding ! Plenty of Parking, Fantastic Pool and Gym. Spacious room and comfortable beds !
I just want to thank Debi Webb for her superb customer service!! To make a long story short there was a kids expo on Saturday, March 30 which happened to be my stepdaughter's ninth birthday Well Ella Anderson was there who plays Piper, the sister on the Henry danger show. This is a very popular program with kids So I called the hotel to find out exactly where she would be if they could be pictures taken etc. etc. we talked for 20 minutes and it was like we had known each other for ever she said I will find out and I will call you tomorrow. Honestly I thought to myself she's never going to call but at least I made the effort Well sure enough Debi Webb called me back and told me the time of where she would be I said I know that but I i'm looking to make my stepdaughter's birthday the best so she had an email that she gave me Of the people that were actually running the event and I was able to make an absolutely wonderful connection for my stepdaughter. We had such a wonderful experience at the hotel for the kids expo Debbie's customer service was outstanding and when I went to the front desk to ask if she was there They said no. But I introduced them to my stepdaughter to them and told them by her made her a very happy girl and they all gave Debbie web excellent accolades!!! Thank you Debi Webb and the hotel for a very satisfying experience Highly recommend this hotel thank you
Our stay at this hotel was a last minute booking for a one night stay for my huband, my daughter, her friend and I. I enjoyed our stay. Staff was great and very friendly. The rooms a little out dated but a wonderful stay!
Excellent service friendly staff had gift bag waiting for me totally unexpected. Breakfast was good too no issues during my stay. The rooms were clean no problems with check in or check out completely happy with the service great price as well highly recommend
I was looking for a hotel in our area to go and stay overnight with my young daughters during their spring break from school. It was important to find an indoor pool and a good price for the night! I found both at the Best Western in Marlborough, MA. We were excited that the pool was heated as well. It was a great night of fun for me and my girls!
On the spur of the moment we decided to go to Boston for the weekend. We were not aware that it was marathon weekend, the local hockey team and basketball team were both in the playoffs and playing at home. We did know the Red Sox were home because we wanted to go to Fenway park. To say it was crowded would be an understatement. It was hard to find a hotel. But we got lucky. It's not in town. Bur it was reasonable and more than nice. The breakfast was great. The breakfast staff were very nice, in particular Ayaan and Jeff. In addition the bartender Matt went out of his way to help us plan our next day's itinerary and helped select the best available stubhub seats at Fenway. The front desk person Cameron (?) printed out maps and gave helpful advice. The facility was really nice, the breakfast was great and the staff were the best! Thanks to you all!!
This hotel has excellent staff. The managers, front desk, housekeeping staff, servers at a hot breakfast. They are always willing to be helpful and with a smile. The breakfast was awesome. My room was fantastic and clean. I have two more reservations within the next twelve months. I love my room.
just had our 55th year annual Bay State Coin Show at BW...as always first class service & accommodations !!!....always great service especially from Arthur..Angela & Debbi !!!!......one of the most beautiful Grand Ballrooms in Massachusetts !!!!
The hotel was amazing!!! The staff was unconditional!! The breakfast every morning was so jummy with different selection between cold to hot. Jeff was amazing at the breakfast room. At the front desk amazing people and faster!! Angel, Cameron and I don't the girl at check-out i thing was Angely something like that. Very kind. Thanks for the goody bag. I Love the new room. Comfortable and big. Housekeeping very friendly.
I have stayed at this site in the past. I was not disappointed. The hotel had a very clean appearance. Parking was plentiful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast.
We hold our annual trade show and convention at the Royal Plaza Trade Center every year. The people who run the Hotel and Trade Center could not be any more accommodating. The hotel staff, catering and Trade Center employees continually go over and above to make us feel welcome and provide us with exemplary service. Many of our attendees commented on how great the food and service was. A special shout out to Debi Webb who always works hard to make our stay enjoyable. Looking forward to next year.
Just a note to say what a great experience we had working with the Best Western Staff at Totalcon. Our group, Dark Phoenix Events booked a room block and had 14 rooms for the event. In addition, special accolades to Deb Webb, her help in planning our group dinner event was exceptional.
I had pleasure of staying at the Best Western from March 1-3rd. The staff was accommodating and truly professional. I would like to say that Debi Webb went above and beyond. It was like she anticipated our needs and provided them immediately. This employee is certainly an asset to the Best Western and one should all emulate. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.
Great place for a convention. The staff is very attentive. The space lends itself well to adapting to the needs of the convention. My only negative comment is around the price increase on the food when the convention is onsite.
Great price great staff great hotel! Took a weekend away to visit friends. Check in and check out process was easy and honest. Price was very good and came with a delicious buffet breakfast. Location was key close to everything. Highly recommend.
The Best Western was very nice. I was there for a business training and I really enjoyed the past 3 days I spent there for the training. The food was very good and I especially enjoyed the service and friendliness from April. She was a delight! She worked very hard to take care of the requests and needs of some the guests during this training.
I have been staying there yearly for 10 years. Rooms are clean and nice andbrakfast is good. Restaurant and sports bar are good. Elevators are a bit creaky. I also reccomend a trip to Linguines just down the street.
With the chance of bad weather, I got a room the night before the show I needed to do setup for. The stay was an excellent experience. I had been to the show many times but had never stayed there. Will consider staying there anyway next year.
I recently spent the weekend for the third year in a row. We had some last minute plans we needed assistance with and Debi Webb really came through for us! Ourselves and our guests were blown away by the personal attention she gave to us. We will continue to stay here for years to come and look forward to doing business with Debi and her staff.
While attending a three day training at the hotel, April with food services was AMAZING. Incredibly accommodating to my unique food needs, making me feel so comfortable. I could tell that she loves her job & felt appreciative of her willingness to help!
I was recently here for a conference that was sold out. The hotel did a very poor job of supplying enough staff to accommodate everyone. Some staff members also need to receive some sensitivity training. If you asked some of them for something, they made you feel as if you were bothering or disturbing them. I can't see myself coming back to this particular Hotel.
Buffet breakfast is much more than you get at other hotels. Restaurant/lounge, indoor pool. Budget/Avis rental. Walking distance to the shopping center next door. New spa bath products. I always enjoy my stay.
Stayed overnight for a trade show at the Royal Plaza Trade Center next door. Very comfortable well designed hotel with good beds, WIFI, and a good place for a conference. Good breakfast buffet included in the reasonable room rate. Good service in the bar and restaurant and a nice seating area to hang out in in the lobby. Hotel staff was very helpful to everyone during a major snow and ice storm, many good restaurants nearby--everything from Chinese food to Panera--hotel is right next to the ramp to I-495.
Very comfortable, professionally run hotel. Attention to detail very noticeable. Clean and friendly. I also liked the convenience of having everything in one building, as well as being within walking distance of the conference center.
I went yesterday to the MCAS conference and I loved the hotel. The lunch was delicious. Good thing that now people who speak Spanish in the Counter now can help those who do not know English very much. Before they had not bilingual. Very friendly staff. Giant and comfortable hotel. I would like to go back!
We took our grandchildren to the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center, and could not have been happier with the choice. The hotel was bright, cheery comfortable and well staffed. The pool was very nice and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. If traveling that way I would definitely stay again.
Always a Great Stay ~ Friendly & Professional! The All Star Bar .. Debra & Sean ..Rob & Sandy all take Great care of us !! Debi Webb is a great asset to BWRPH ~ she goes out of her way to welcome me each time I visit with her smile and a great story!! I happily recommend to anyone looking for lodging in the area ~ the rooms are well kept and updated. Cheers ~ see you All in January !!!
Already my third time and every time I visit I love it. I was the host of the day. The beautiful Christmas Ornaments. The lobby very clean. Employees were Front Desk Big John and Angel very kind helped me in the morning. The housekepping did an excellent job. The breakfast very rich. Thanks to Jeff at breakfast.
The rooms were clean. Breakfast was great Jeff the waiter was awesome he was so helpful to get us anything we needed the impression he left made me consider always using Best Western when I travel. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. We hope to stay here again next year! Thank you for your hospitality beautiful hotel and great staff. The only complaint I have is the room keys are way too sensitive to deactivating.
This hotel was easy to get to. Very pretty lobby inside. Easy parking. Rooms were nice and clean. No noisy at all. They serve a fabulous 'free' breakfast buffet. The staff got me coffee and orange juice even though it is buffet style! Our lunch was awesome. The steak tips were superb. Hats off to the chef at this location! These steak tips were better than some I've had at 5* hotels! Thank you Best Western.
This is probably one of the best smelling hotels I've stayed in. I know that's odd but it stood out. The fitness center was also better than average. Went for a conference and one day they ran short of food! Everything else was average except after I checked out I realized I left my phone charging cord in the room. I went to the front desk and they sent someone to look for it. They couldn't find it but thought housekeeping may have already taken it but they couldn't contact them. After several days of me calling and leaving messages w/o any response they said the maid did take it and they will mail it to me. Weeks later I see they charged my credit card for the $3.50 postage without informing me. I think they should of at least mentioned it or better, absorbed the fee since I asked to check for the cord less than an hour after I checked out. Also, I left two separate voice messages for the manager Jeff Kerrigan to call me about a $30 rate increase on the second day of my stay that I was not previously made aware of but I never got a response.
Bathrooms were not cleaned. there was long black hair in tub and in bathroom sink. At $187.00 a night, I'd expect rooms to be clean. I questioned the cleanliness of the entire room after seeing the bathroom.
Great location for my business travel. Room was in the quieter part of the hotel. Convenient to have breakfast and dinner for the two nights spent there. Had some issues that required some adjusting to the mixing valve and shower head. I notified the front desk about the issues. For the value of what theycharge per night, well worth the price.
Food and service were excellent. The staff was attentive and fun. Plenty of seating and many televisions to watch the different sporting events. We very much enjoyed watching the Patriots beat the Vikings.
Every employee was friendly and helpful. Every employee!!!! The breakfast and front desk staff were exceptional. The room attendants were nice and so efficienct! The complimentary hot breakfast selection varied daily with great servers!!! It was a great location and near major highways. I would definitely stay again!!!
I was checked in by a new employee and had my room charged to my checking account when I was paying cash ! Now I have to wait for MY money !! Room was clean and the food was excellent. Manager was extremely apologetic but doesn't help get my money back Immediately when I have bills to pay !
We stayed at the hotel and had a booth at the Natural Living Expo. The event center was set up perfectly and all staff members were so pleasant and helpful. Everything ran so smoothly, including the flow of traffic through the parking lot. Very thankful for the shuttle! The hotel is very nice with some great amenities. All hotel staff members were very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast options at Zachary's were plentiful and delicious, including bacon, french toast, eggs, hash browns, fruit & more. I would have given five stars, except for the fact that we couldn't take a salt bath because the tub stopper didn't work, and the last night we were there the toilet broke. The fire alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. and we all had to leave our rooms & go in the parking lot. It was freezing outside so we stayed in my car to keep warm. It wasn't long before we were able to go back in, but had to stay in the lobby for a little while before we were allowed to go back to our rooms. Apparently there was smoke in the service elevator.
The staff, amenities, cleanliness of this hotel were superb. The staff were very helpful during our conference, the rooms were clean and inviting. The food was as indicated and cooked as I requested it.
Its tired, old and same food and pretty much same staff. Need I say more. I would be changing name to WAS the Best Western! because the word BEST does not describe this location anymore. It appears that reinvesting in improving this location has been passed over. So I will do the same.
We had a wonderful time. The hotel staff was very nice. Huge shout out to Jeff at Zachary restaurant. My friend has a great nephew named Zachary and she thought he'd enjoy something with his name on it. She asked Jeff and he thought about it and went out back. We expected a napkin or pen but instead he came out with a wonderful mug with the name Zachary on it. Wonderful. He will be so pleased. Thank you Jeff.
Very pleased with my experience mainly due to helpful staff, front desk and housekeeping were extremely helpful with helping me recover some things I lost, I appreciated their efforts of putting the customer first greatly. The breakfast could use improvement, the eggs and meats lacking the most. But overall good experience.
Big John had the friendliest and warmest welcome! I felt he was genuinely glad to have us!Little John always had snacks for us was our shuttle driver extraordinaire, taking us around this lovely community, offering stories and recommendations for great places to eat.Ayann & Sandy took care of all of our dining needs. I have a GF restriction and I always knew I had options, I felt very taken care of. Sandy even sent us 'home' to our rooms after with take out coffee and in the evening dessert to go.Benjamin was great help as we set up for our event, bringing us items like tape when we ran out. This team anticipated our needs, did everything with a smile and exceeded my expectation at every turn. I appreciate this is what true service looks like, however I don't actually receive it as regularly as I'd like. A sincere THANK YOU for making this stay a memorable one, for all the right reasons.
At a conference here. This is a good place for a conference. Rooms were nice only complaint was the fire protector was right over the bed. The light was right in ones eyes making it difficult to sleep. Pool was beautiful. Actually the whole hotel was beautiful. Especially the stairways. They were perfectly clean. This is a sign of a great hotel.
We have stayed here several times going to and from Maine. Excellent rooms, although a bit pricey, a very nice restaurant, and real breakfast buffet. Want to especially commend Debi Webb, in the restaurant, for her warmth and friendliness - we ways look forward to seeing her. Highly recommended Best Western.
Year in and year out, the Best Western Royal Plaza in Marlborough pulls through with exceptional service orientation. For what was our 8th year, the International Kenpo Council of Grandmasters held its annual tournament, seminars and rank testings, followed by and capping off with a great banquet. Just like clockwork is Debi Webb who without her superb customer service, this event would ever be the same. A million thank yous to Debi and all her staff. We look forward to year Nine ☯️
I made a reservation at another hotel through an online reservation service back in July for an October wedding. I received an email from the online service that they cancelled my reservation the night before our arrival. Best Western came to our aid and allowed us to check in early since they were further away from the wedding venue.
I arrived to this hotel and was amazed by the size of the hotel. I was ecstatic by how affordable it was to stay at this Best Western. Hotel agent-Tiffany was amazing with Check-In and Check out with a professional and positive attitude. The room was comfortable, clean with all working amenities, pillows were a bit tiny but they were still comfortable. It had an awesome view on the 6th floor. Breakfast was a bit different at this location with wait staff at your service with beverages however it was still a buffet style breakfast full of variety!. A disadvantage to breakfast was that some of the items were Luke-warm or cold such as eggs or bacon. Please keep in mind that this breakfast was in restaurant rather than the hotel's own continental style breakfast. The pool in this location was a bit small for a sizable hotel but it still served a purpose. No laundry center in this location so pack extra clothes if necessary. This location was very close to two or three different malls so you had options everywhere.
It's very frustrating to make a reservation only to be told there are no rooms available. I was only giver a room because part of my reservation was made directly with the motel as per my confirmation. It seems they do not feel obligated to honor reservations made on line through a third party, Expedia, Booking e.g....
Stayed at this hotel for a convention. Very helpful people at the front desk. The rooms have all been redone. Very nice breakfast buffet. The staff was very helpful whenever we needed anything during the convention. The restaurant was very good. Didn't really need to leave the site.
I stay at the Best Western every summer as part of a convention. The staff here went out if their way to take care of me, from the front desk staff, yo my newly renovated, out if the way room I was assigned, and especially the restaurant staff headed by a wonderful and effectively proficient lady, Deb Webb, who really stepped up to insure things were fantastic! Thanks to all! See you next year!
Stayed overnight courtesy of Aer Lingus cancelling flight. Many thanks to Chris Pascarelli at reception who went above and beyond securing us transport back to Boston Logan. Very professional, friendly and helpful. Very nice room, comfy bed even tho just there for a few hours. 1-2 hour drive back to airport.
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent experience at the Best Western in Marlborough, MA. Very accommodating staff who where always very friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and aattractive. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept like a log. I look forward to next year's expo and again staying at this hotel.
The rooms were comfortable, the staff was excellent, and the free breakfast with my room was comprehensive and tasty. This was my 3rd or 4th stay, and have been consistently pleased by my stay.I chose this hotel for the sake of an event being held at the hotel, and the event space is clean, well organized, and well staffed.
The hotel is for all intensive purposes not that bad however, I just had an encounter with bedbugs. I woke up at 2:30am with what felt like something falling off my back. I tuned the light on and discovered some sort of bug on the pillow and sheets where I was lying. I smashed a couple and they were full of blood. Now all my luggage and clothes need to be cleaned or thrown away. They gave me a different room and comped my stay but I never went back to sleep in there bed.
Another comfortable stay. Love the recent updates to my room. Debi Webb & Company always greet & treat me well! Thank you Sean & Renee for your wonderful service at the bar... Sandy at Breakfast each morning service with a smile & a warm well wish for the day !! I love my BWRPHTC family ! See you in October !,
Very pleasant stay, all was clean, tidy and fresh. Front desk, Housekeeping and Wait staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and a good variety. The internet was not as good as we hoped, but sufficient to do the minimum.
Had one of the best stays at this hotel the staff was very friendly and helpful! Had one issue with our keys not working through the day and getting very frustrated going back to reactivate the key. Special thanks to Jonathan and Luke for accommodating us in a professional and friendly manner. The location is very convinient with many restaurants and attractions in close distance ! The house keeping staff is phenomenal with keeping up with its rooms. As well as the breakfast is well served with friendly staff always smiling! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE !
Excellent hotel, very nice for the price. The woman [Sandy] who was running the included breakfast buffet is top notch. She was extremely courteous, and despite having nearly a dozen people to attend to, gave personal attention to each diner - refilling coffee, juice, water multiple times. She is truly outstanding!
I was in town for a pre-conference session. I was very impressed with the hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The accommodations were pleasant, and the breakfast buffet rivaled the Embassy Suites. I am looking forward to going back next year.
We stayed in Marlborough, MA for economy purposes: if we stayed in Boston we would have paid twice as much and gotten much less. The hotel offered free breakfast included, free parking, indoor pool. Boston is only 30 minutes away. The drive is worth the saving.
Johnathan at check-in was the most professional and knowledgeable individual I have ever seen at a hotel. He is so Pro Best Western and obviously very proud to work there. Sandy (I believe it was Sandy, she is from Wesllesly) in the restaurant exhibited this same enthusiasm. Two awesome employees! I was up north to bury my father and their wonderful attitude was refreshing. The room was great, WIFI perfect and probably one of the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel.
I was surprised as to how helpful and patient they were with me. I called numerous times prior to check in since my family drove into town earlier than expected. The staff gave me estimated time that a room might be available and not once showed attitude towards me when calling. They offered suggestions on places I can go in the meantime if waiting in the lobby would not be an option I wanted to consider. When we finally arrived I had yet another request and that was to include my father in law on the same floor. They were super accommodating. The hotel itself is huge and is walking distance to shopping centers and restaurants. If you have kids you can take them to the funplex across the street. Sadly I was too occupied trying to get all 4 of my kids from trying to check the amenities the hotel offers that I did not write names aside from Debi (restaurant) of what I think has been the friendliest of hotel staff I have had the pleasure to come across in all of our 14 years of family travels. There really was no need to leave the hotel unless to tour the city. The restaurant located in the lobby serves amazing food, the wait staff is incredible and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas and tourist must sees. The hotel offers a buffet style breakfast that fits pretty much every foodie. This hotel has us wanting to make the two day drive to Massachusetts once more.
I stay here every year for the NGH (National Guild Of Hypnotists) convention. Everyone goes out of the way to help you. I do a lot of traveling. Even the high end hotels do not offer the same attention. Every year, John the manager, has gone out of the way to help me. He always gives professional and personal service that exceeds any place else I've stayed. Also every year, Sandy in the restaurant, is amazing and attentive. Thank you to the entire staff for their attention to detail and friendly and professional care!
This hotel has the nicest, most helpful staff I have encountered in a hotel. From the restaurants, to the counter, to housekeeping, these people have the resources - and the resourcefulness and good will - to help their guests out with issues that may come along. The rooms are nice, the food is good, the pool is fun, but it's the people that will keep me coming back when I'm in the area!
I've been staying here every year for our hypnosis convention. Thank you Debi, Leddy, Jeff, Donna, Sean, Arthur and Rick! If you have any issues or need any assistance, the staff will get it done. Just ask.
I arrived from overseas at 2am tired and grumpy because my luggage didnt arrive with me and i was told minimum 24 hours until it comes. So grateful Knights Shuttle service had been good waiting for me. Thank goodness for John and his front office team.... Reception was great, friendly and gave me lots of little things to survive .... deodorant, toothbrush and paste, and reassurance that i could have a courtesy car in the morning to take me to the mall to buy some clothes and necessities. and they collected me and brought me back. Thankyou JoJo for that. I had a convention to attend, I was a speaker next day and I looked smart thanks to your BW team
I recently spent five nights here and had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were large, comfortable, and clean. Both the wifi and air conditioning worked perfectly and it was nice to have wifi everywhere in the hotel. The pool was nice and refreshing and there were plenty of towels at all times. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Checkin and checkout were quick and easy and the staff both times were friendly and engaging. There are plenty of restaurants within a five minute drive. The Best Western was easy to find and right off the freeway.
I stayed at the Best Western in Marlboro for four days, with my eleven pound dog, while my wood floors were being refinished. Every staff person was genuinely friendly and helpful. A hot breakfast buffet was included and was quite good. My room was clean and quiet; I definitely recommend!
Stopped here late at night. Hotel was under renovation but it was still clean and quiet Kanani in the restaurant and all the staff were fantastic! Would definitely come back. Good food and a prices. ...
old and out dated hotel...internet went down and I had to call a 3rd party to get it up and going again...located behind a strip mall but one has to take a service road to a one way road then u turn then go back just to get to the food places...
We stayed at the BW overnight after attending a family function. What a great place. It was clean, the staff were friendly and the beds were super comfortable. We had a lot of choices in the area and this was chosen due to location and price. The breakfast was good, many choices and very friendly wait staff especially Jeff. So, I recommend this BW without hesitation and if needed we will be staying again.
this was a stop toward another destination, and it turned out to be the right place. a quiet place, very comfortable bed, quiet room, i highly recommend it... i want to mention the breakfast and the servers there particularly. the food was to order and much variety; i don't remember ever experiencing this level of breakfast included, at a motel. the servers were so helpful, ours was kanani.
Last week, I had occasion to spend three nights at the Best Western Royal Plaza while attending a convention at the hall located next door. While this is far from a bad property, it missed the mark several times during my stay. For instance, several staff members assigned to positions requiring them to interact with guests spoke little or no English. Conveying even simple requests became exercises in frustration more than once. When a late checkout was requested Sunday morning, I was one of several guests denied the courtesy, meaning it was necessary to have everything packed up by 11:00 am. That necessitated doing so prior to attending the convention Sunday. To say the least, the denial of late checkouts caused an inconvenience for several attendees. Other things also failed to convey that this hotel should be considered as a premium property. Staff attire is more in keeping with a budget motel than a hotel catering to business clientele. As well, the presence of contracted security personnel in baggy uniforms also reminds one of a motel in need of security to keep rowdy guests in check. In short, to be competitive, this BW needs to address some finer points while also updating many things on the property such as noisy and slow elevators and dated decor. While this property offers a good location, one might want to consider alternatives in the same area.
Stayed here July 25-29 during a hockey tournament. Rooms were very nice as they have recently been redone. You can tell this is an older property but it is being updated, very nicely. Every staff member we dealt with was absolutely wonderful. They had the best breakfast I have had at any hotel. We were seated in the restaurant at tables and it was set up buffet style, which worked wonderfully. There was not getting a tray of food and then standing around waiting for a table. The only complaint I do have are the beds. The beds are only doubles and very tiny, especially if 2 adults or teenagers need to share. There was also a convention of some sort and figure skating event going on at the same time and it never felt overcrowded.
I worked with the staff to hold my parent's 50th anniversary party there. Jennifer was excellent to work with and went through in detail all the costs ahead of time and always answered any questions I had leading up to the party. There were no hidden costs or surprises. The prices were reasonable for the room and food. Out of town family that stayed there told me that the breakfast provided was excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The food for the event was delicious. The staff even helped us take group pictures and videos, which was really nice. I could not have been happier with the venue, the staff, or the food. The only complaint was that we couldn't take any extra food home- it was really good!
We came here for a skating competition July 23-25. It is 10 minute trip to New England Sports Center. Breakfast is from 6-11. Checkout is 11 and they allowed a late check out at 12. Food was decent. Room was clean. Conveniently located near stores and restaurants. Only reason not a 5 there was no exhaust fan in bathroom so it steamed up during shower and hallways no AC
We recently stayed here with my daughter's hockey team. Rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was very good. Kids enjoyed the pool. Staff very nicely accommodated the parents by allowing us to use a conference room to all gather together in the evening. I would definitely stay here again.
Had a conference in Boston and found the Hotels there too expensive - stayed at Best Western Royal Plaza and their service and breakfast was awesome! Staff were very friendly - under contruction but it was clean.
We were traveling for a baseball tournament and the size of the room was AMAZING! The fact it had 2 bathrooms made the stay SOOO much less stressful!!! the king size bed was wonderful, the pull out left a little to be desired. Also I can't say enough about the location! Everything was less then a 5 minute drive!
Jennifer, the function coordinator was friendly, excellent, efficient and courteous. MEAL CHOICES were accommodating to our needs for a late afternoon lunch/dinner. Price was very reasonable and service was excellent
I have to say that my stay here was wonderful! The room was very clean, spacious, updated, and very well appointed. This is a pet friendly hotel and it was great seeing dogs here and there. The complimentary breakfast is great with hot and cold selections, fresh fruit, juices, etc. But they are sticklers about closing everything down at 11:00. You start getting the hairy eyeball when you come down close to 10:30. The breakfast is well worth it! I would have given 5 stars but for the following items: Hallways are extremely hot and steamy. Not a big deal since you're not hanging out in the hallways. Right? The elevators are devastatingly SLOW! So, yeah, you are hanging in the hallways waiting. The WiFi is not dependable. I was unable to make calls most of the time. Great experience!
the rooms clean and new. I loved the new renovation of the rooms. The service is excellent housekepping. Thanks to Charito for good cleanliness and commitment to the joy of his work. Excellent cleaning
The staff are so friendly and helpful here! The restaurant was excellent and the rooms have been recently renovated. The kids really enjoyed the arcade and swimming pool. There are many hotels to choose from in the area, but I would recommend the BW Royal Plaza because the staff go above and beyond to make your visit pleasant.
I was In town for a wedding anniversary party - there are nicer hotels around but the staff is so friendly and responsive Late check in - they had me all set and quickly checked in The breakfast buffet was good the service was excellent and friendly - the servers took the time to help my kids make waffles will be back
Toilet was flushing on its own throughout the night and we had to disconnect it because we could not get through to a maintenance. Check-in and Check-out were terrible. We were the only clients there both of the times and it took 20ish minutes. Bar in hotel was awful and the employees were extremely rude.
This Best Western is nice. Rooms kind of outdated but it has a great lobby with a restaurant/bar area and arcade and pool. Free breakfast was nice to have included. The wireless internet isn't great. Would stay here again because the price was good but I'd request a low floor room facing the lobby. Location is kind of set back but it is close enough to lots of activities and other dining options as well as a grocery store.
We stayed this past weekend for a hockey tournament. This is the perfect hotel to stay if you are attending a tournament. The staff is absolutely amazing, everyone seemed happy to be there from front desk staff to servers in breakfast and supper restaurants. Most importantly they were patient and understanding with the many children staying there that needed to roam around and burn off energy. They gave us a room to use for our pizza party and when the pizza delivery guy forgot plates and napkins the staff were more than happy to get some for us! Security was also great and friendly to parents who were drinking in the lobby, they had no issue with it and were happy to come chat with us. Hotel is a bit dated but you can see they are undergoing renovations and I look forward to seeing it when they are completed. That being said I hope that there are some plans for the pool area, I found it to be very dark and dingy (and quite small for such a large hotel). The breakfast buffet was wonderful! Yummy, hot food and fresh fruit and muffins. Cannot say enough good things about the amazing staff in the breakfast area. We only ate one night in the restaurant but it was yummy. We had nachos and it was more than enough for two. My son ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which was a great portion size. My daughter wanted a grilled cheese but it wasn't on the menu, when requested the server was more than happy to oblige. Again great service! Very happy with this hotel, if you are looking for something fancy you may want to go elsewhere. But if you are looking for great service this is the right place.
Great place to stay . We rolled up at late at night without a booking after a long flight (from the Uk )and drive , the staff fitted us in with a smile and luckily the restaurant in the lobby was also open late until 11 , so we got the chance to eat delicious hearty American food . Clean spacious room ... good wifi and bedding and tv channels!! Good breakfast choices and lovely staff always attentive and helpful. The hotel needs abit of a facelift in the lobby , but it has a heart. Thanks we will stay again if visiting .
Great hotel. Everyone I met who worked there was friendly and seemed happy to be there. I recall “big”John, “little” John, Renee, as well as the hostess in the restaurant Saturday night , and the breakfast buffet guy with an Eastern European accent (didn't catch their names). All went above and beyond making sure things went smoothly and their guests were happy, They were all truly outstanding. Rooms were nice, breakfast buffet great. For what I spent on a room, I did not expect such a great experience.
Was a great weekend here, I can see the building was undergoing a remodel but our room looked brand new right down to the carpets. Was an easy check in by John very pleasant fellow. They had a great breakfast buffet. We did not eat dinner there but spend both nights in the bar with Mark the bartender he was great, very friendly and took care of us, asked about our day. Even helped us find dinner places close by. Like to come back after the remodel but would stay here again
I was here for 2 nights with family attending a function for a family member that has been a priest for 50 years. I could see that they where doing updates , but the rooms looked new and very comfortable. We only had breakfast there and it was a good selection, we did not eat at the restaurant but did stop in the bar both nights. and was always greeted by Mark the bartender with a smile and a interest in our day. The crowed at the bar was mixed with some very odd and rude people dressed in leather vests. I'm guessing from to much to drink before they got there. but Mark apologized for there behavior and asked if there was anything else he could do. all and all a pleasant stay with an easy check in and out by the front desk
Our check in is where we started the positive experience with Shadad. She was on point and even laughed at my jokes...that was a plus! The rooms were clean and looked like they had been upgraded. The hotel seems to be going through a whole upgrade. The folks at Zachary's Breakfast Cafe were AMAZING. Loved Ayaan and Jeff. They had great senses of humor and were wonderful both mornings. Thoroughly enjoyed them! Met Deb Webb (one of the managers) while we were hanging outside in the evening. She was down to earth and made sure that we were all being taken care of to our expectations and chatted with many of us to ensure our stay was going good. Overall I would definitely stay here again... Then there's Mark...the bartender...he is rude and his social skills are quite lacking. He couldn't seem to be able to crack a smile or even be polite in any shape sense or form. He also charged one person $7 for a draft beer and another $9. We discovered this when we were talking about how horrible he was. I personally ended up tipping him much less than I do normally (we tip 20%+ across the board) leaving him a dollar and he didn't even deserve that!! There was a large number of us as we were in a large group staying for the weekend. I can see being busy, but come on guy, at least joke around with us while trying to keep up. We are an easy going group and we were already being patient and laughing and joking around with each other since we hadn't been in the large group in a while. Mark also had that always angry face, which is maybe just him, but, he definitely needs some training in customer service. He was cocky, rude and to be honest, the second night, I didn't even patronize the bar because of his service the night before. I know many in our group (which numbered about 150) did not as well and opted to have a room party instead. You really should consider letting Mark go or cutting his salary or sending him through Service Excellence training of some sort. He is the ONLY negative thing I can say about the location. Ample parking Clean Great reception and in Zachary's we loved Ayaan and Jeff! Close to many restaurants and stores Comfortable bed and bedding Refrigerator and coffee maker in the room Plenty of rooms for large groups Only one wish to make it better for anyone... FIRE MARK THE BARTENDER!
With having so many (newer) hotels in the area, I would probably not stay here again, or at least until their renovations are complete. The room was okay for a one night stay, but the lobby is extremely dated and features "Don't mind the dust" signs.
Ignored customers. Someone bought a round of drinks, but this bartender never gave that individual a drink. One price for male customers and a higher price for females. Should not be a bartender not customer friendly.
Stayed here for on night after a group function. Quick check in and out. Friendly staff. Nicely appointed room and good wifi. Enjoyed drinks in the bar and had supper in the restaurant on site. Pasta was very tasty and salad bar was well stocked. Breakfast was included and offered many delicious choices. Many thanks to Breakfast staff Heather, Alyson and Ali for a great start to our morning. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again if ever in the area.
Attended a conference and accidentally left my wallet behind. The staff saved it and returned it to me with great professional courtesy. Shout out to Jarred at the front desk for his service. Thank you!
There are so many things wrong, broken, shoddy, won-out, low-life, dirty, broken furniture, bartenders who yell at each other....and it just feels like some unsafe ghetto hotel. That simple. The outspokentraveler has spoken!
Another wonderful stay!! Debi Web & all the staff go over and above to make sure we are well taken care of! Each trip is memorable and this visit was no acception. Leidi & Sandy greet me each morning with a smile & a friendly face! Sean & Marc at the Bar serve me my “usual” at the end of each day. Good Food .. Good Friends ... Good Times !!
I had to comment on what was a great bar and bartender here at this hotel. I was there for a few nights and me and the wife stop, at the bar. it was a very busy place and Mark the bartender had his hands full. Not only was he serving a lot of people but the other bartender, a short dark haired girl, was asking him how to make drink after drink. when it was our turn my wife did not know what she wanted and I felt bad for him but he smiled and took the time to ask here what kind of liquor she liked and if she liked sweet or spicy drinks. Well he made her this French Martini he had on special and she loved it. So I had to write and commend him for his patents and service. he could have said he would come back, but he did not, and made us feel like we where the only ones there. well done true customer service
Although the exterior and lobby were under construction, this was an excellent value for the price. The room was clean and the staff friendly. This will be an excellent place to stay when the construction is completed
I have been running my annual Bay State Coin Show at BW since 2012 and at each show everything has been flawless !!!....looking forward to our next show week-end of March 14 2019....most rooms are recently remodeled...fitness center great with large pool
Guest rooms were outdated and need to be remodeled. Also, the main entrance was not available due to construction work. Early in the morning there was noise outside and it interrupted sleep. However, people at the hotel were very nice and kind.
We were given a 6th floor room, upon exiting the elevator, we saw large piles of laundry thrown on the floor in the hallway as well as another pile of rags. These remained there overnight into the next morning, even though I saw a worker call in the mess on her walkie talkie shortly after we checked in, no one ever picked it up. The room was ok, although the rug had numerous stains in it. One bad thing was the bath tub area, there was no rubber mat for the tub to keep one from slipping in it, also no grab bars are mounted as well. I slid down the tub while showering due to this dangerous situation. I called own to housekeeping to see if they had rubber mats and no one ever answered the phone, so I tried the front desk. There only advise was to put a bath towel on the bottom of the tub. I was concerned because my wife recently had knee surgery and I did not want her to fall while showering. Another area of concern was the "free" breakfast buffet. We arrived and went over to the bank of coffee pots to get a cup. All three regular pots were empty, there was a worker right there who said she was going to get new refills, it never happened, the whole time we were at breakfast they remained empty? To get a coffee you had to get a waiter to retrieve it for you. thereby almost forcing you to leave a tip for him or her. For the price paid, the service quality could have been much better than provided.
We stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament. To begin, the hotel needs a major facelift. It's dirty and dated. The chairs in the lobby were dirty and stained. The elevators were pretty slow. Our room was not any better. It was a decent size but again, dated! We had a room with 2 double beds, which were comfortable but way too small. There was 3 of us in the room. Myself, my husband and 14 year old son. We had to get a cot because 2 of us could not fit in the bed and we are not big people. We found 3 empty cans of soda under the bed. The smoke detector is installed right over the beds with bright light, who would do that? The mini refrigerator was on the floor with a microwave on top of it. The cabinet that the TV was in was broken and if you blew on it, it probably would have collapsed. And the coffee maker was in the bathroom!!! Gross
We stayed here when the weather forecast called for lots of snow and my wife had a conference at the hotel. The lobby and entrance were undergoing renovations and we had to use the side entrance. That would have been OK but there were a few smokers puffing away so the entryway wreaked of cigarettes. Once inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was a very attractive conference center. The atrium made us think of older Hilton-style atrium hotels. The front desk clerk was fantastic and she was able to retrieve our old BW loyalty number. She also upgraded our room (yeah!). Our room was on the second floor at the end of the hall where there was no heat. We noticed that the hotel offices used former guest rooms that overlooked the atrium while our room overlooked the parking lot. Our room was very large and reasonably well-appointed. We got the room temperature up to where we like it. The only downside to the room was that we found a cigarette lighter under a chair - a sign that the housekeeping could up their game a little. The bathroom was spacious and the toiletry items are just OK - about what we'd expect for a BW. I went out looking for a bottle of Dasani and was dismayed to see every vending machine I visited was either out of service or Dasani was sold out. The thing that made our stay the most enjoyable was the free breakfast in the restaurant. The eggs were amazing(!) and the variety of items was first rate. This hotel is not the Ritz, but it is clean, well-priced and very convenient for the conference trade.
I want to first say that almost all of the people I encountered at the hotel were most accommodating and the room was beautiful! I am not the type to leave a bad review but the experience I had with a bartender named Mark was inexcusable! My company booked a few rooms for the well water convention and we arrived Friday night. Once we were settled into out rooms we went to get a drink at the bar. The first bar tender I encountered was Rene, she was personable and took care of me in a quick fashion even though it was a bit crowded. My issue occurred when my boss asked me what I was drinking, I responded rum and coke. He proceeded to order a round of drinks for all of us. When I tasted it I realized it was not Captain and coke. I could not drink it so I returned to the bar and explained to Mark that I could not drink it, it wasn't his fault it was a mere communication issue and could I please have a Captain and coke. He seemed to have an attitude and violently poured it into the sink and started to pour me a new drink. I had felt like I had upset him. Then a fellow worker saw that I was having my drink replaced and asked for the same (he was drinking Captain also). This is when it was very apparent that my first read on this bartender was correct! He definitely had an attitude! I was made to feel bad and so I said if it's that big of a deal we will pay for "his" drink thinking I was getting my as a replacement. My fellow worker produced his credit card and the nasty bar tender snatched it from his hand an charged him for BOTH drinks!!! My fellow worker commented on our treatment (with words I will not repeat) and so we stayed clear of Mark for the rest of the night! I at some point felt so wronged I mentioned what happened to one of the other bartenders and they in turn let Debi the manager know how we felt we were treated. Debi found us and questioned us about our experience and apologized for the bartender's behavior. Everyone can have a bad day at work once in a while but if your in a customer service business you need to make sure it doesn't reflect onto your customers!!
We were down there in January for a Hockey tournament the organization has stayed there for many years. We have stayed there for many years for Winter and Summer Hockey. I called a few days late because of family emergency and was not given the group discount. Was told we would get rate couple dollars more day was ok with that . After getting the copy of being billed it was considerably more. Called another Hotel just infront of the Best Western and without a group discount was much cheaper... The best part of the Best western is the bar and bar manager staff.....
A friend and I stayed here as we passed through New England. It was my birthday when we checked in. The front desk person noticed when I gave him my ID so he upgraded us to a fancier room. The room was clean, all devices/appliances worked well. There were ample electric outlets in convenient places to charge our personal devices. The towels were not stiff from over washing. We did not try the restaurant but they have one. Very convenient to route 9 which can get you to great shopping and fun!
This is the second year, at Best Western for Totalcon & we are all very happy it was moved here. Free Breakfast, a pool, & a clean room. The Lunch crowd was crazy busy, but thank goodness the hostess Ayaan took excellent care of us. She jumped in & got us our drinks & meals. She is wonderful! Thank you for another great weekend!
I spent 3 days at the BW Royal Plaza Hotel last week and as I was ready to depart the security system on my vehicle would not deactivate which left me and 4 others stranded. While we waited for arrangements to be made the staff(esp. Debi Webb) made the dreadful situation quite pleasing. No one ever likes breaking down away from home but I must say that I am glad it happened because we would not have been able to be the recipients of such remarkable and genuine hospitality from the BW staff. I would recommend this establishment to any and all. Thank you Best Western.
I didn't stay at the hotel but I was there over superbowl weekend for First Event. During this event the place is packed and the bar tender Mark was busting his butt all weekend while dealing with other not nice impatient customers. The food at the restaurant is great too. I love that First Event is at this hotel, close by from where I live in Worcester which is great. I love going down on non event weekends just to see the bar tender Mark. Friendly guy and makes great drinks. Chris G.
NEAC Another wonderful stay ! I traveled in a snowstorm and arrived to welcomed greetings ! Saw old friends and made some new!! Debi Webb and the staff go the extra mile to make you feel at home ! When the show was over and it was time to leave my car was under almost a foot of snow ..and without even asking a lovely young man from the front desk cleared me out and off I went ! ~ thanks for everything ??til next time !
If you are contemplating booking this hotel let this be the review that makes you book. I am a very picky critic of hotels. They are expensive so we should get what we want, right? The hotel is good... but what we enjoy is Jeff the waiter at Zachary's in the hotel. He has helped us every year when we come down! He remembers you and is the most friendly, funny, efficient server I have encountered ever! Also the hostess Ali is great as well. They make you feel so important when you come in. I can't say enough great things about Jeff so if you stay here, ask for him by name! As far as all the talk about theft in the hotel... personally I am not buying it. We were gone most of the weekend and I left my pocketbook in the room with my money and medicine (not the smartest but I didn't have a lot of cash) but it's never been touched. In fact, I left my pocketbook in the breakfast area last year and the employees hunted me down and made sure I got it back immediately. GM if you read this please make sure Jeff knows how much my family appreciates his great work ethic... he's such an asset to Best Western!!!
My family stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while attending a hockey tournament in the area. My daughter noticed 3 rings she had just received as Christmas gifts were missing from her luggage. We checked the room and later searched at home just in case there was an error. No Rings! I called the hotel to report the items missing and was bounced from the front desk to a housekeeping manager's voicemail. My message has not been returned. Two other families from our team who stayed there that weekend have also called to report cash and other items missing from their rooms. Watch your belongings!
BW Royal Plaza is huge. Rooms are clean and comfortable, as was the bed. Asked for an accessible shower and got a totally accessible bathroom, which was appreciated (recovering from knee replacement). We spent three nights as it was close to family events and highways -- Routes 20, 495, 90, 95 and 9. Facility has a pool, though it's small. Overall, a nice place to stay.
WARNING: Prepare to be ignored, dismissed, and lied to by multiple staff, including management, if you have any kind of issue here at this hotel!! I have been staying at this hotel once a year for the past few years and I had observed the management system consistently decline year after year. Unfortunately, this year's visit included an item of mine being stolen. This is when the nightmare began. From the moment I realized my item was missing, I experienced a complete lack of concern or caring from hotel staff and management. Heard many false promises and "your issue is very important to us," but it took over a week of daily phone calls and emails before my issue finally reached a manager. I was never able to reach the GM, though he seems to reply to posts here... I spoke to the Rooms Manager, who was filling in for the GM. He gave me wonderful lip service and I believed he genuinely cared. He promised to expedite my issue of theft and find a resolution. But it still took a MONTH before we reached a resolution (weeks would pass in between emails, which STILL flabbergasts me). As of the time of this post, our agreed upon resolution has still not happened. I have since sent several additional emails and voicemails to this Rooms Manager without so much as one response. I'm literally one step away from taking this to small claims court! In my entire life, I have never encountered a hotel that is this disorganized and mismanaged. My stolen item is just one part of my recent experience at this hotel... the management also allowed a extremely unsafe situation to escalate to the point of physical and verbal assault of guests without appropriately providing security. No decent hotel would ever allow theft or violence to go unaddressed or to not fulfil an agreed-upon resolution. Needless to say, besides taking this hotel to small claims court, I will never stay at this hotel ever again. To the GM (because I'm sure you would see this), I welcome an immediate discussion to rectify this situation.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. Best breakfast buffet I've had at a Best western in a while- diverse items every day, caring and helpful staff. Place, though pretty much deserted at this time of the year (this is a convention hotel), was beautifully decorated and staff was helpful. We had a problem with the heater in our room but it was fixed right away. Beds are a bit old, but were basically comfortable and room was very clean.
We were there for Christmas Eve so we could visit relatives in the area. The staff onsite were very nice but our overall assessment of the hotel would be somewhat skewed as they were minimally staffed since there weren't many guests. Our room had two double beds and was a good size. The TV had plenty of channels. The included breakfast was very good. The room has an old school combination for the heater and A/C in the wall. It was effective but very noisy as it kicked on and off all night. The room also smelled like smoke even it it was non-smoking and we both awoke stuffed up. We reported it to the front desk when leaving and they said that housekeeping would check into it. Other than that, our stay was fine but the hotel seems to be in a bit of a time warp.
Always stay at this hotel when visiting relatives in Mass. We've always had a positive experience from the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the property and the restaurant and lounge.
This may not be the newest hotel on the strip, but based on an overnight, I would return. We had king suite room which was pleasant and clean. Check in and out were a breeze. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff most pleasant. This is very convenient to both Worcester and Boston.
Came on a snowy night. Saw plows and staff working on making sure the parking lot was clear of snow. Room is clean and tidy. Breakfast food is delicious! Staff was professional and friendly. Hotel is close to the mall and a shopping strip. Highway is close by as well.
A great hotel and friendly staff. Convenient location to 495 as well as other restaurants and shopping along Route 20. A reasonable price with a brunch buffet included in stay. No issues or complaints.
Recently stayed here for two nights while attending an event at the adjacent Expo Center. Room was clean and expansive. Nice bathroom and plenty of hot water. Good TV and plenty of charging outlets. We used one of the presentation rooms and it was very effective for several slide shows that we attended. Plenty of parking. The rate seemed reasonable for this type venue.
Impressive facility. Convenient location. Absolutely no road noise. Friendly and professional staff. Rooms were in very nice shape. Well-stocked bathroom with loads of towels and sundries. Hallway noise was minimal. Nice views from the top floor. Breakfast outstanding with ample options. Impressed and other chains should take note. Restaurant on premises with a great dinner menu. Good food and I'm picky. I was happy with the meals. Spent two nights there on business. A great hotel when you need to stay in the Marlborough, Massachusetts area.
good location = lived in area 40 yrs. Enjoyed the service & the comfortable guest chair in the guest room. Staff went out of way to make sure your were a happy guest. after living in that area for 40 yrs and remember it being built, the only hotel there. fir its age, it is ok, but soon should consider an update or some redecorating.
this hotel needs to get face lift if it wants to continue to charge the prices they do I have been staying at this hotel twice a year for many years and I see it slipping in its quality. Extra outlets for patrons to charge more than one device, better lighting. newer heating and air conditioner units would help a lot. The convient location is compelling
Always a great time at the annual Natural Expo - the event is awesome - and at a really great venue. Room was fresh & updated - staff is always a pleasure. BUT SPECIAL KUDOS to Sandy, one of the waitresses in their in-house Sports Bar & Grill. It was so very busy at lunch - yet she was fast, efficient, and super-friendly. Great Service & Great Attitude - truly - better than some fancy places we've eaten in. Thank you Sandy - we're glad you were our waitress!
Extremely friendly staff and clean rooms! Everyone was completely satisfied with our stay. We had internet connection everywhere and the pool was amazing. The breakfast and dinner was also amazing. Would definitely recommend!
We stayed here on my husband's business trip. The hotel is conveniently located near the highway and walking distance to 2 nice plazas. My room had a great view of the plaza. The room is modern and nicely decorated. It is not first tiered as the Hyatt but it is good. We had dinner at Long Horn Steak which was nice. There is a supermarket, nail salon, dollars store etc. in the plaza thus you will not get bored. It was fun to see all kinds of activities from the room while my husband was at work. The sport bar restaurant in the hotel is a nice place to have a drink as well. I love the little garden with the seat in front of the hotel. The pool and the exercise room are nice as well. The game room is a great addition for the children. The breakfast is good with a variety of choices. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Thank you both for the late check out. The elder John was so accommodating when I asked for changing to the plaza view room. Overall it was a nice stay. It is not a luxury hotel but it is a good value hotel. We would recommend this hotel for a great budget hotel with a nice room and great staff.
The check in was fast and the room was clean and comfortable. the breakfast buffet was better than i expected: eggs, waffles, bacon and potatoes. Also choice of bagels, oatmeal, yogurt and pastries. They had servers bringing your drinks and checking that everything is good. I would definitely stay again if needed.
Warn your children that the restaurant manager has a short temper and will share his frustration in the dining area in front of the people eating. Our room did not have a fridge. Location was good. The hotel and restaurant employees were good also.
Courteous front desk had bookedwrong night .front desk fixed the night and rate. On phone helped me w accessible issue and fantastic accessible set up and service. Bkfst was great. Excellent spread at Mac's.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good food, nice place! The food for the conference was good though I'd prefer the chicken to be grilled without breading sauce and cheese. Wish they had some IPA on tap. But really all that matters is friendly staff and a good night sleep in a clean environment and Best Western got that right!
The room was clean and spacious. The hotel was dated. The door would not close in bathroom in the fitness room. This is ridiculous. The restaurant did not offer non pork meat items in the breakfast menu. The staff was very nice both at the front desk and the maids. I would stay here again because I do not care much about the dated decor. The shuttle would not take us to Hudson.
Rooms are clean but dated. Staff friendly and helpful(except night bartender). Value for the $ pretty good. Nice breakfast buffet. I would stay again because of the hotel's location for my business needs and closeness to training center I was attending. There are a lot of off premises eateries within 5 minutes of hotel
I find that the people at this hotel start to become like family due to the number of times we have been here and the way that they go above and beyond most of my expectations for hotel staff. Wonderful staff!
Out of all of the hotels that I have stayed at, The Best Western experience in Marlborough, MA was by far the Best!!! The staff was great and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud!! The food was awesome to where I didn't need to leave the hotel Outstanding Hotel
Terrible! Pricing was way overpriced for the quality received. Special rate received was not special at all because it did not include the free breakfast that they provide every other guest. Bar service was terrible. They did not have the staples that a good bar should have. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at!
Hotel has lots of parking. Shuttle will take you to places within 5 miles. You can use path to walk to a shopping center with restaurants and grocery. Breakfast is very good with lots of choices. Restaurant, bar and lounge on the premises is very helpful. I've always felt safe here.
The staff were not friendly and inviting at all. Room had foul oder. Temperature in room was to warm and could not be changed. Have been itchy all over my body since staying here. Over all would not stay here again or suggest it to anyone else. Hope management can make much needed changes to improve customer service and over all experience.
Another comfortable stay ! Debi Webb & her welcoming friendly staff did not disappoint!! Great Bar Bites ~ I am partial to the Rosemary French Fries and the BBQ chicken wings ! ~ Sean takes good care of all his people! When traveling on business its good to know you can count on Great Service and comfortable accommodations ~ ! Thanks Debi & Co.!
We stayed at Best Western for a painting convention. The accommodations were excellent. One suggestion- the rooms need more lamps. It was very dark in area by chair for sitting or reading. The breakfast was excellent. For the convention, lunch offerings of delicious soups, salads and sandwiches were available for a quick meal.
I stay at this hotel 15 nights a year. Every detail is precise. The front desk personnel are always extremely efficient and professional. They will do almost anything to please. The breakfasts are one of the best in any hotel I stay. The room is modern and very well maintained
this place smelled bad ......and is in need of major upgrading ....it needs a deep cleaning also webwill never go back ......did not like it at all although the staff was super nice oh and the major turn off was the lobby bathroom it smelled so bad that we had to hold our breath and run out as fast as we could......
It is a big hotel but the room was quiet, comfortable beds, good shower and excellent choice at breakfast. We were tired after driving and decided to eat at the hotel's all star bar. The food was surprisingly good, great range of beer and dealt with gluten free, our server was really lovely. Front desk staff are not very friendly.
there was a dead bug on the wall and it was a big dead bug and there was pop corn under the bed i stayed there for 6 days and no one cleaned the dead bug off the wall or the pop corn from under the bed
Hotel is clean, staff polite and very helpful, great conference area, very busy, your lucky to get a space, have to schedule way ahead of time. prices have gone up, watch out! Food is good. Sound isn't always good for speakers in Ballroom, been using Best Western for years and always have the same problem with sound! Hotel staff very pleasant breakfast buffett very nice! Didn't have time to check out pool and stuff this year!
Very comfortable and very friendly. Staff will go out of their way to help in any situation. They take the time and listen. Beds and pillows are very cozy and room was very clean. Able to open windows and the air conditioner really cools the rooms. Would stay again and again.
Painting convention in a beautiful place. Hotel was so accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately not much extra time to explore the surrounding area but I would love to go back. Great hotel and staff. Food was really good and best lobster dinner!
Don't expect to load even a webpage after business hours at the hotel. I found 7 long hairs in the sandwich I ordered from the restaurant. The elevators take way too long, and the hallways were about 85 degrees. I'm in hotels every month, this is worse than a motel 6.
My reservation was confirmed two days before arrival yet, when I got there, they didn't have a room for me. After my insistence, I was placed in a room that was old and tired. I returned to the room in the evening to find the bathroom flooded with water running out of the ceiling. The bathroom was unusable but there was no other room to move me to. The staff didn't seem to be too concerned that I had to use the bathroom in the lobby.
Our group of 45, plus our bus driver, stayed here for 4 days as we visited the Boston area. It was quite centrally located to everything we visited. We were greeted by friendly and helpful hotel staff, as well as a Welcome Station, consisting of fresh coffee, iced tea, lemonade and cookies. Our luggage was delivered promptly. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The expanded continental breakfast was very good.
Stayed 3 nights for a business conference. The hotel appears dated at first glance (the elevators need to be updated) but the rooms are modern and comfortable. The bar and room service staff were friendly and the front desk staff was outstanding. I hope to stay here again in the future.
Everyday, this place is very, very busy. That is a good thing, except when you need to find a parking space. Very good free breakfast. I would stay here again. Car rental on site. Rooms were ready earlier.
This hotel is to me mediocre. There is nothing terrible except the elevators are extremely slow as mentioned by many people that were there. and the WIFI is unusable. I rode from the sixth floor to the first floor, the doors never opened then by magic traveled back to the sixth floor and again down to the first floor. Just a trifle annoying.
As always, your staff was very helpful. They responded to our needs very well and were very professional. When we had a problem they quickly fixed it The were very professional all the time., We will be back next year.
hotel was nice with a restaurant and bar, rooms were clean and staff was very pleasant. I was on a business trip with conference on the property. Shuttle was a nice addition. Would recommend this hotel.
I came here for a conference. It was such an amazing experience. The staff were wonderful, especially Debi. Everyone made you feel comfortable, they checked in to see if we needed anything. Thanks for a great experience. On another note: if you get a chance, definitely have the chocolate cake! Super moist and delicious!
The Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel is very accommodating for business needs. Great meeting rooms for all presentation needs. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast has a lot of variety for types of eaters. The oatmeal is great.
This property is extremely nice with very comfortable but somewhat dated rooms. The breakfast buffet was one of the very best I've come across in any one of the hotels I've stayed at. It had great variety, was constantly refreshed and the staffed checking on you were amazing, spot on , kind and efficient. I was impressed and I was in the business for 20 years !! The staff throughout was fabulous!!
Ok hotel- somewhat dated, some updates, large property. Location is good for NESC hockey. We wanted to bring in food for a team meal, & they would not allow it as they served food. They offered to provide, and coach agreed in order to have team together. Price was almost 300% of catering tray prices I found. Bathroom sink faucet is too short for the basin - one of my pet peeves. New carpet in rooms is good. There are also small fridges in the rooms which is nice. No microwave. Thermostat is old school unit, with push buttons for hi-lo & cool-heat. All in all not a bad hotel, but $139 seems high. If it were $110 I would feel much better about it. It did include a hot buffet breakfast which was better than most other included breakfast hotel options. Front desk and restaurant waitstaff were very considerate and accommodating.
Great Greeting Staff! Always Available! Room was Terrific! Food at conference was truly delicious! Check out - no issues or surprises. It was easy to get to - almost right off of Route 495 and plenty of great places to visit in the area.
We were on the last leg of our trip and looked to find a hotel in the area. Hard to see hotel being it is set back a bit but once found everything was fine. We ate in their restaurant that received bad reviews but we both had good meal and staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great and price for the stay was just right.
The staff was right there to offer assistance with any and all of the needs of the guests attending the convention. The staff, especially Debi, Sandra and Jeff brought smiles to guests and made them feel comfortable and relaxed for the weekend. The food was delicious and served exactly when we had asked for it. I recommend the hotel for any kind of event.
Nice hotel; very good breakfast, clean, nice staff, convenient location for those travelling to the Boston area. I have mentioned that electric vehicle charging station is needed -- hope to see some progress there.
Overall, the stay was great. The service was amazing. The layout of the hotel is nice with a beautiful array of flowers around a fountain as you walk into the lobby. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities I needed (desk, microwave & fridge). The view wasn't anything spectacular, but it didn't take away from the room. When I couldn't log onto the internet at first, I was able to find the number to call and the general announcement gave me the link I needed, so I didn't need to talk to anyone for further instructions. I stayed in a king, and although the bed was very comfortable, there were six small square shaped pillows instead of full-size pillows. I would bring one from home next time. The staff in charge of the kitchen ensured that I had a vegan option during the conference, which was beyond what I normally get for service. The only other thing I noticed that bothered me was the smell of the cleaning products. It hit me as soon as I walked in the front door and overwhelmed me getting off the elevator in the hallway to my room. I guess that means they are doing a good job of cleaning, but it was tough on my senses during the stay. Great value hotel.
My hockey teams have been staying at your hotel and we always have a great time. The staff is very helpful whenever we need something especially Deb Webb she is a great asett to your company the only thing is she is on days now so we really don't get to see her much because of games during the day would like to see her on nights shift hopefully she will be placed back on because hockey season has started and she would be a great loss to us parents and kids I know we have 3 tourneys there this year and my summer team will be back up next summer. So please put Deb Webb back on nights Sincerly Shannon Corcoran Tricounty saints and killa Beez Hockey coach
Excellent hotel for business or pleasure rooms are very nice very comfortable beds staff is very nice and absolutely goes out of the there way for you. They are in a great location for the cape and Boston
Came to best Western for a hockey tournament , staff was excellent ,rooms were clean, inside the hotel the hallways could be updated it's a little old and musty other than that it was a good place to stay ,
Everything in this hotel is well done and well presented. The room was just right, only would have liked a mini fridge. The wifi was easy to use. ac was on when we arrived so room was fresh and clean.
5 years running and we wouldn't think about going anywhere else. The hotel, lead by Deb Webb, caters to our every need. Our guests enjoy the rooms, the main ballroom is big and clean with helpful staff. And the Dinner Banquet is great food with a very attentive staff. Can't thank Deb Webb enough for all her help year after year!
I live close to the Best Western so I never use the hotel per se, but my neighbors and I have dinner at All Star almost weekly. The quality of the food is surprisingly good, and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the star of the show Debi Webb has been absent recently. She can accurately be described as the "Hostess with the Mostest" and she makes guests feel welcome and at home. I want her back! It's just not the same without her.
My experience there was the same as it has been for the last 7 plus years- excellent. Anytime there is a need or if theres ever a problem it is addressed immediately. I will continue to use this hotel in the future and enjoy seeing the staff Nicole, Deb & Arthur.
I loved my stay. The breakfast is great. The wait staff does a great job making it run smooth. The front desk was pleasant and helpful. Having a bar and restaurant on site is a big plus. Great maid too
Not a bad hotel but not worth the value. Food was good at the restaurant but breakfast was terrible. Pool was dirty both days. Kids rough housing and throwing footballs. Pretty sure one girl took a football to the face, blood everywhere. Not one staff member was around to help.
If this is the first time you are going to the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center, you may find it is not so easy to locate the front door because of its fairly long and winding entry road. However, the hotel is modern and well-appointed. Its lobby is open, airy and well-maintained, and the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. I found the restaurant to be dark, and service was slow. True, it was a conference, but I'd have expected there to be more staff on for a larger number of guests. I am dairy-intolerant and ran into an issue with the first meal there - the menu did not mention that the item was made with cheese, though elsewhere on the menu cheese was commonly indicated. I had to refuse it and then wait for a menu and wait again for a new meal. My room was clean and fresh and maid-service was efficient. My main area of dissatisfaction was with the poor internet and cell phone service. The front desk's explanation was that they were a hotel made of 6 stories of concrete amidst the mountains - so if you are in need of constant communication through your cell phone, plan ahead for alternatives. I was only told as I was leaving that they would have allowed me to use the house phone at no charge (emergency circumstances back home...). Will I stay here again? Absolutely - but next time I won't get so frustrated at the poor internet and cell phone service.
My room was excellent for my 8 day stay. The customer service was great. The restaurant had excellent food and service, I had the special on the two nights I ate there and loved each of them. The rooms were the most convenient I have had for a conference. The rec center and pool was inconvenient because you have to cross the lobby to get to them but I found a stairway to the second floor that got me around that. The buzzer to open the pool door is not clear from the inside to get out so that caused a moment of panic. Overall I was extremely happy with this hotel.
This BW hotel in Mass. is about 1/2 way between DC & Acadia National Park in Maine. HUGE wide open atrium with indoor pool and restaurants. I'm in a wheel chair, and the lobby and rooms were ABSOLUTELY wheelchair accessible. Fantastic breakfast. Used AAA-rate which was a great value. See if they offer AARP and/or Military discounts in addition to AAA. Accessible room is easy for elderly and/or those with major mobility problems to navigate (not true for all hotels) -- large bathroom with easy entrance door and handrails. The bed was very comfortable, good TV service and WiFi worked like a charm. I would definitely come back to this BW hotel.
We had to stay here due to the Embassy nearby (which is great!) was full. Wow, did we regret it. The shortcomings were endless. The bldg looks like it was built once and beaten around for the past decades with no refurbish or TLC. They just let it slide downhill! 1. My door lock was broken. 2. One photo attached shows how the TV cabinet had a door ripped off. 3. The carpet and room felt filthy, to the point where we joked about how filthy the rooms were the next day only to find my work companion had actually slept in his clothes. 4. I kept my socks on rather than touch the carpet; no, I never do that! 5. The bar was dishevelled and chaotic; when I asked for a Scotch, the bartender, who boasted he did not drink, asked another if there was any Glenlivet because she had just poured some in a dirty glass. Yes, he said that. 6. The buttons on the phone were broken. 7. They charged $224 for the room, whereas they should have paid ME $244! Stay there at your own risk! It actually felt dangerous. Maybe best suited for college kid road trips where they trash the room and roam the halls in their shorts and flipflops.
Stayed 7 days for a conference and I was pleased with the entire experience. Staff was helpful, and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever had! Food in the restaurant was excellent also. The room was very clean and quiet, i will definitely stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel for a hypnosis conference. The days are long and the breaks are short. I keep drinks and food in my room. when i checked in they told me there were no more refrigerators left for the whole weekend. it was Thursday night and I was staying until Monday. I pleaded with them. they said no. i moved into the room. I went back down stairs and spoke with the manager and he moved my room. He was so helpful.
Needs some renovation. It was clean, but the rooms are old and the hotel looks ugly from outside. It had its best years but this was 15 years ago. The service and personal is OK. Breakfast could have more choices, for example fruits.
For the NGH annual convention, the hotel is the experienced provider and was ready for action! The room was excellent, the service quick and dependable and courteous, and the food delicious. For us, the mini fridge and micro-wave allowed us to have meals in-room easily and inexpensively as there were grocery store and fast foods in the nearby plaza within easy walking distance. an extended stay was more comfortable due to the hair dryer and ironing board and iron, and we enjoyed the option of bed and towel changes as we wanted, not necessarily every day. Nine nights passed wonderfully.
I had to refuse a 9AM room cleaning service and asked them to come back. They never returned. I am not all that fussy but I did not want to be bothered every morning at 9AM. Hence, my room was never serviced.
Excellent property! Clean rooms & phenomenal staff! Very impressed during my last family trip. Room was perfect. Kids loved the breakfast buffet, indoor pool,on site gym & arcade. We truly enjoyed our weekend stay.. this is a beautiful property that has everything you could need for traveling, keeping the kids/family happy.. shopping center within walking distance.. This is a true GEM.. ALSO, one of the largest hotels that I have ever stayed at. They keep this property in great shape. With well over 400 guest rooms, this place is perfect for corporate parties, conference rooms and holiday events. The restaurant/bar/grill was exceptional. Breakfast buffet, with fresh waffles, eggs, bacon, home fries, large selection of fruits, cereals and yogurts truly impressed! We will be planning another weekend getaway for September! Kudos to a great staff. Management is phenomenal. Thank you
This hotel has everything you need to never leave the hotel. A great exercise room ,attentive staff, and good food. I spend at least 100 nights a year in hotels and the Best Western Plaza in Marlborough, MA is, by far, my favorite.
Everything was extremely good. It was a famility trip and we all enjoy our stay. Clean room. Good service. Excellent breakfast. Location is fine with plenty of parking space. Nearby amenities where easily reachable. Overall, an excellent stay.
The most economical really good hotel within a hundred miles. It sits back off the road and is a chore to find in the dark but is worth the search. The bed was top quality and the room was quiet. Breakfast was a really good choice of eggs, bacon, sausage, and cold offerings. If you are traveling through this area this is the place to stay.
Great rooms, very friendly staff & excellent breakfast buffet (especially Jeff who made the experience so great). This is well worth staying at- great beds, showers & amenities. Highly recommend for a short or long term stay. The little restaurant inside has excellent food & service.
Although the customer service folks were pleasant and professional, the restaurant staff were obnoxious and inappropriate for any guests. The breakfast is poor. The food in the restaurant, nothing special. They have 4 elevators for 6 floors- they may be the slowest in New England of any chain! Frustrating
This hotel is in a Good Location with easy access to the highways. The rooms a real nice, with a friendly Staff. It has a Good Bar, and the food there is good. Breakfast is excellent. Overall, my stay was great.
My family of four stayed at this hotel for a week. We were initially worried about a group they hotel had booked as they were some sort of rockabilly car club. Their language was attrocious for my pre-teens and the smoked everywhere. Thankfully, they were mostly gone by the morning. As for the hotel...very comfortable, but in need of re-model. Service was excellent and breakfast was excellent. Our room had a small, high window that you could not see out of which made the room dark and feel a bit like a jail cell (though, I've never spent the night in a jail cell). The beds were comfortable and room was clean. I would highly recommend this hotel for a family or vacation, but not for romance.
We attended a weekend long event on site and although the property size was able to handle the event, the staff was very overwhelmed. The bar had reduced itself to a limited menu for the entire weekend due to the hotel being busy, which in turn made ordering for the whole weekend difficult. The restaurant/bar staff was completely stressed out and the kitchen was always backed up, even with such a limited menu. I also was not allowed to have a late check out due to the hotel being to busy. I requested that upon check in and was told I had to ask morning of check out and when I called at check out they again said no. The hotel was well aware of the event and how many people would be staying all weekend and they were still not staffed adequately, that was disappointing.
Normally I stay just outside the Boston area. For some reason most hotels were sold out that night or if they had a room the cost was outrageous. So I searched farther west of Boston and found this Best western in Marlborough. I had to travel farther than I wanted but this hotel was a good find
The service was very good and personal. Restaurant and bar service were notably good. The elevators were slow and they were not working right. Our room was nice and clean. One of the nicest Best Western!
I recently stayed at the this location and was so delighted to be able my partner in crime Minnie!!! Deb and her staff go above and beyond! The rooms are clean and the hotel bar has a fun and friendly vibe. The chef Patrick makes chicken fingers in house and they are scrumptious!! Mamadou, Jim and the rest of the bar staff provide stellar customer service and make one hell of a cocktail!!! I cant wait to return next year!!!
If you are traveling with a dog, rest assured that this hotel is really a pet friendly one! No ridiculous weight or breed restrictions and no additional fees. I was very happy that the hotel staff treated my dog as a guest too! THANK YOU for a happy experience!!
Longest waits and worst attitude from bar staff. Terrible food with long waits. Many reviews about these same issues. Throw in 1 of 4 or 5 elevators in working condition and you have headaches waiting
This hotel goes above and beyond expectation when it comes to customer service. We have held a karate tournament and banquet at this facility over the past several years. Debi Webb has overseen this event each year and has been instrumental in making it run flawlessly every time. She makes our guests feel like family, and we love that they want to come back to our events. The wait staff in the banquet hall are wonderful and work tirelessly to provide great service. Jeff is a favorite server of ours in both the banquet hall and the restaurant - always smiling and making sure he is providing the best service. The bartenders handle our guests so well, and the front desk staff are super helpful to our guests.
What more can I say...Multiple rooms to choose from...they have a wonderful spread of fruits, cereal, waffles and a hot bar( eggs, bacon, sausage) for self serve breakfast...The staff is polite and the beds are comfortable....
This place is our home away from home for the past 7 years. The International Kenpo Council of Grandmasters appreciates loyalty, and the BW hasn't let us down. Once again Debi Webb pulled off a wonderful day and night, with a touch of professionalism, class and a great personal touch. I'm telling you, you people would be lost without her... I know we would !!! Food was great. The bar wasn't as efficient as last year, appears to be new staff...... Once again, Thank You and thanx to the wonderful Debi Webb
Chris went above and beyond when I had s broken lock, was patient with all the guests and kind, I could see Chris going far with the company and should train/lead others on the staff - he is an asset; Sean was welcoming and pleasant and a great bartender; the server for lunch time in lounge (she's from Hudson I remember) went above and beyond when I had an order cooked incorrectly - she made sure everything was correct and made sure I was pleased with the outcome. The complimentary breakfast is beyond what you'd expect, and there's a gym on the premises. I'll definitely be back.
But only for conventions...a bit rundown, but lovely staff. Rooms well used... Great to do business at the convention center but I would not stay here for pleasure. Lots of tour busses ...so crowds in a He lobby and at breakfast
The staff was amazing and attentive. They had a wonderful breakfast. Clean and ample parking. Everyone had a smile on their face and was helpful. The restaurant had great food and the staff was fast and efficient. Great location...easy to find.
We were there for a hockey tournament and the first notice we see is NO HOCKEY STICKS OF ANY SIZE. While I understand playing hockey in a hall, or in the lobby, they are 9/10 years old...give them a room to play in!!! Or don't host the tournament! security was ALL OVER the kids...it felt like school...walk, walk, walk. I am already all over my kid about those kinds of things, so I definitely didn't need security to do that for me. It was overwhelming. I would NOT stay there again...and the amount of hotels in the area, you can definitely stay someone else!
Hotel lobby is very welcoming with easy check in and check out. All amenities available. Restaurant offered S complimentary buffet breakfast with every possibly option . Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Nice clean quiet hotel away from the city of Boston . Worth the drive !
Nice size pool, arcade room for kids, and convenience of the All Star Bar and Grill. Came in on a Friday night for hockey tournament and bar was full, orders were lost, and meals didn't come for over 1 hour and 15 minutes however manager handled appropriately and apologized. Saturday night lounge was empty quick in and out convenient place to grab a drink. Breakfast buffett was up and ready to go at 7am and it was above average, nice also that they had breakfast in the restaurant and also in the foyer area of hotel. Room, King size bed, was clean but dated...carpets were worn, fridge looked like my college fridge from the 90's. Overall nice facility that just needs updating.
Best Western Marlborough is an older hotel, but has lots of amenities, well lighted with a huge parking lot (very good when it snows). Rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. Avis and Budget are at the hotel, but you can walk ( via gravel path) to the nearest shopping center (restaurants, grocery). The restaurant and bar have great selection - good food. Breakfast is too expensive unles you have a breakfast coupon, which most people have. Good buffet breakfast with 2 types of eggs, waffles, bacon, homefries, oatmeal and continental selections. BW is the best value in this area.
The hotel was overcrowded, there was only one person working at the front desk. I checked in at 10 pm and the line was very long to get checked. My room was on the 6th floor. The elevator was very hot and very slow. I got to the room, tried the key multiple times before someone from inside the room started yelling and swearing at me. I was given key to a room that was ALREADY OCCUPIED. Had to take everything back down, wait again in the ridiculously long line and got a new room.
i want to say that the stay was great and there was no concerns, love this place. they are very helpful and very friendly, they are kind and always willing to help. i think it is the place to stay if in the area.
Good value. Very comfortable room with helpful, friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Near the business park where my husband was meeting. Near a mall to which I could walk to kill time. buy books, and eat lunch. Had an adequate exercise room (better than some).
This hotel has been always clean when I stay here. The service is excellent. The internet is fast. They have great events. This hotel is huge plenty of rooms for events. Their breakfast awesome, not many Best Western nor other hotels have breakfast like this place has. I would definitely give them a rating of 10. If I had them follow me where ever I go I would stay at this one.
We stay at this hotel for business every couple of months. It is obvious that the restaurant and function manager Debi really cares about her job and the customers. Thanks for making our stay more pleasurable.
Everything about the stay was great except the swimming pool was very dirty, which was surprising as the rest of the hotel, including the room was very clean and well kept. Perhaps the pool cleaner was on vacation too! The food was very good. The breakfast was one of the best that I have had a hotel in quite some time.
For the price, it was a good stay, and good value. The hotel is in a good location- near many quick-stop restaurants. Stayed over for one night business and would stay again for business purposes in the future.
Classic Best Western, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Older property but clean. Breakfast was good and filling, offering meat and potato as well as fresh fruit for our healthy friends. Lounge area had all the local sports teams on TV and a good fun vibe.
Everything about this hotel was as expected very friendly staff, great lounge, good calimari at the bar. And better house pigno then Chardonnay. Breakfast was a buffet and included with the cost of the room. As far as I'm concerned that was the biggest disappointment of my entire stay. All the hot prepared food tasted fake. Scramble eggs, home fries and sauces looked so good!! I took on bite of each and tossed them. Yogurt toast some fruit coffe and juice were my other options. Didn't dare try the oatmeal. They could have done so much better.
VERY NICE HOTEL.. although it is 45 mins from Boston Logan airport, it is a nice, neat and Friendly place to stay. Breakfast Buffet was delicious, fresh and full of delicious home cooked foods.Staff was super friendly and ready to accommodate.
I stayed here for an overnight visit to our MA facility. The lobby and the room were exceptional. The sports bars was excellent. I wish I was staying longer so I could enjoy all of the many features of this fabulous hotel.
Our stay at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center was a very pleasant one. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. The hotel is very clean and the lobby area is beautiful. There are two restaurants in the hotel and many other amenities to choose from. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when in the area.
Excellent staff that helped our stay due to a family emergency less stressful. We appreciate their effort. Lounge, pool were very enjoyable and staff did a great job putting up with many issues, Our thanks to all.
My family stays here twice a year for the SuperMegaFest. It's great to see the same friendly staff each year. Everyone really makes you feel at home. The rooms are very nice and clean and the food in both restaurants is excellent. The other thing that's really great is the huge parking lot. We've never had a hard time finding a parking spot.
Conference rooms were very good; break service was very good; restaurant was at best average. Salad choices poor;soup choices poor. Room beds twins and old; bathtub not cleanly scrubbed; no dresser for clothing storage. Closet very small.
Overall we had a great stay at this hotel. We went for a comic con which was being held on hotel grounds. The only complaints I have are that I would not pay full price for the breakfast buffet if I had to pay for it, luckily we did not due to the comic con deal they had at the hotel. Normally the buffet is around $20 per person and although they had a good selection it was not worth that much. A second complaint I have is that we were told the pool was heated which it was not. The area that the pool was in was heated, felt like a sauna, but the pool itself was very cold and very small. Besides that, the hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. I am satisfied enough that I would stay at this hotel again for the comic con next year.
so, I wouldn't go here on vacation, but it was fine for one night for a seminar. I did not participate in the free buffet breakfast, so I can't speak to that. I did, however, order room service and it was very reasonably priced and the portions were quite large. The nice man that delivered the food to my room was pleasant and brought me an apple. The front desk staff were polite, but not overly friendly, except for the guy that checked me in..."what's going on, ma'am"?" the room was old, but clean, for the most part. very minimal dust, if any. the lunch buffet we got at the seminar was quite good, but the green beans were spectacular! it was really, really quiet, even though there was some sort of dance party going on. I barely heard any other guests. the towels were very nice. they seemed brand new and quite fluffy. I was NOT a fan of the Pantene 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. I should have brought my own. the elevator was loud, but since there are 4, I could not identify which one was loud. since there are 4, there was never a wait.
A very good stay over all. If you go here for a event. Ask not to stay in the rooms next to the elevators. People get very rowdy and are loud. If you need a good nights sleep this is not the room for you.
I attended the Supermegafest 2017 with my 14 year old daughter. The room, the décor, the staff were WAY above par. The breakfast buffet was incredible and appealed to every want or need. The Supper buffet on the main area of the hotel was incredible as well. The room was apportioned well, and the place was clean, neat and showed a sincere attention to detail for the best guest experience. I will stay again in October for Supermegafest Fall 2017 and would recommend the BW Marlborough to ANYONE planning on being in the area. Well done!!!
it's alright as hotels go. Location is ideal for business travelers. Noisy hall ways and thin walls. Can hear water running all times of the night. Key needs to be redone all the time. The breakfast is quite nice and varied. Jitney service to the trade center is handy.
Disgusting. Low class. Rude staff. Dirty sheets. Rampant theft, can I say more? Avoid. Run for the hills, sleep in your car, do anything but for the love of GOD, don't pay MONEY to stay here. I have been all over the world, if I wanted to stay at a hotel in a third world country I would have gone there.
Great hotel and rates... Staff was very polite and helpful. I got in and was asked if I was a member of AAA, however I received that rate. I got in at about 9 pm. From a very long day traveling. Bed was really nice, and slept well. Breakfast was amazing!
We were here with our family while the husband had to work. The staff kindly accommodated our need for flexible check-in and check-out. The breakfast was amazing with both hit and cold options every day and a great variety to choose from. The price of the hotel alone was better than any other in the area and included a pool and the wonderful breakfast! We keep coming here for our business trips.
From beginning to end one incident after another made my 3 night stay sad. I work hard for my money and use this business trip as also a treat staying in a nice hotel. But the issues that arose and the lackadaisical ness with which the staff met my concerns turned the little get away into a I just want to leave feeling.
Overall the stay was enjoyable. I was miffed when one of the desk clerks mentioned we didn't get the $1.99 breakfast pkg added to our room b/c we were there for the expo. I was highly disappointed in the price of the breakfast and dinner buffets. Too expensive for the quality and options offered. House keeping came by to empty the trash ONLY (it didn't have that much in it). The bed wasn't made... found that interesting. We put the card on the bed so they wouldn't strip it, but we expected it to be made. ABOUT THE CARD. It seems to make most sense to have placing the card on the bed as the exception, not the rule for keeping the sheets on the bed. Makes me wonder how many people remember to put it on the bed to keep the sheets on them. The lamp beside the bed was shorting out, didn't work more than 3 minutes and then didn't work at all. The coffee pot in the bathroom was a joke. You pour the water in per directions and it came straight out (couldn't even get the cup in place fast enough, much less have it hot)... frustrating. I reported the issues on check out as we stayed only 2 nights. There was a smoke alarm placed right above the head of the bed. It had a green light that made an eerie glow over the bed. My husband had to cover his eyes to sleep as he is sensitive to light in the immediate area. It was reminiscent of alien abductions or something LOL The waitress and mgr of the restaurant (dinner Fri night) were up-tight, there was an underlying static, weird energy from both of them. They made us (there were 4 of us, guests of the hotel) feel like they needed the table when they came over multiple times. We asked them if they needed the table, but they insisted they did not. The waitress seemed un-nerved, like something had happened and she was anxious. An al la carte breakfast option would be nice. Having to pay $10 for a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee is ridiculous. Offering free coffee to guests would be nice as well. There are hotels that are much less expensive that offer that option to their guest. The hotel was aesthetically pleasing, the room was clean, the staff was friendly. We will most likely stay at another hotel for next year's expo because of the cost and the food options are not worth staying at the hotel to eat. We found other hotels that are less expensive and food options that are the same or better quality for less money.
Great service, excellent value. Deluxe hot breakfast buffet, great selection! Restaurant staff very helpful and courteous. I stay here every year for the natural living Expo and I love it! Plenty of parking also.
Every November, I attend the Natural Living Expo and stay at this hotel. I have never been disappointed and I look forward to coming back here, year after year! The staff are wonderful and my stay is always enjoyable. I'll be back in 2018!
This facility does a great job in accommodating hundreds, maybe thousands of attendees at this event. The staff is very courteous, and I don't know how they manage to feed all the attendees who eat in their restaurant. Ayaan, the hostess, was particularly helpful when I was there, and she and the wait staff were very attentive to my needs. I would recommend this Best Western to anyone who is looking for a venue for an event, or to anyone who simply wants to spend the night.
Clean room, very friendly front desk. I was especially pleased with breakfast - terrific buffet spread with all the breakfast staples. I arrived very early, and the staff, Leidy, Jeff and Ayaan, treated me like family.
Food in the restaurant was of poor quality. Smelled smoke in our room and reported it to front desk was told they would be right up to investigate nobody ever came up. Small lightning / rain storm and the hotel lost power for approximately 15 seconds with my son and his friends being trapped in the dark in a stuck elevator 15 seconds is an eternity.
Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Had all the amenities we needed. A nice place for families. They also did a fantastic job running the automotive conference I was there to attend. Pool was well maintained.
Surprisingly good WiFi - FREE! Great bar and breakfast facilities! Comfortable well priced rooms. Breakfast was freshly made and a good variety of items. Did I say good WiFi - FREE! good WiFi - FREE! Did I say good WiFi - FREE?? good WiFi - FREE!
I had a person unlock my door with their key and walk right into my room while I was in bed at 10:00pm then was called down to the front desk a half an hour later to get it cleared up, I was so wound up after that I couldn't fall asleep until the wee hours of the nigh, making my long drive home very difficult. If I didn't have to stay here for business I wouldn't, and I'm going to do everything in my power not to stay at this best Western again.
This hotel is a lot of fun as the event I attend here. They are very nice and very relaxed during this convention and it is appreciated. However they said that I could not have a free breakfast due to my rate which was over $100 a night and I have like the second highest ranking for Best Western. I was sorely dissapointed that I spend so many nights with Best Western every year and then cannot even get a free breakfast regardless of my group rate I am loyal to best western nationwide and that was not taken into account. It may seem like a small thing but how much would it have hurt to give a diamond level member a free breakfast
Not the quality I was expecting. Room was not very clean, nor was the heating/cooling working and outlets in bathroom, no refrigerator that was requested for medication. Elevators were not working and other conventions were going on, no access to stairwell at certain times of the day
Friendly staff that is often pushed to their limits by understaffing at hotel during peak time. Nice and comfortable lots of amenities but often too crowded to take advantage of them. Food is good but pricy, hotel is noisy and often very busy. Good location, and overall a great place but always problems with elevator, check in drop off and parking.
Enjoyed a very nice event at the Best Western in Marlboro while at the NEAC trade show. The vendor and buyer dinner was so nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was good and hot. They had a great band for the event. If you host an event there, ask for them. Easy to get to and a good place for a meeting.
My first stay at a best Western in quite a number of years. Was visiting for a convention on site. Very clean hotel and great service from staff. Room was pretty standard but very clean. Two items worth noting: The Wi-Fi was fantastic leading to very good Internet service. It was nice also for once to be in a room with a sufficiently large TV. The towels were soft too. I don't see that very often. Only two minor concerns: The beds were full size rather than queen and as I see in almost every hotel, very low grade toilet paper. If a chain would attend to that, it would really give them an advantage even though it may seem like a small thing.
I stay at this hotel several times a year for work, and the staff is always incredible - Specifically Ayaan and Jeff at breakfast, Sean at the bar, Cameron at the front desk, and Debi. They often have a full hotel when I'm there, and no matter what the circumstances their staff always goes above and beyond to make your stay go as smoothly and as comfortable as possible.
Always have a good stay. Comfortable room, great staff. I can recommend this hotel. Always stay here when when I come to Marlboro. I come here 4 times a year and it is always good. The points are also an asset.
DEB WEB and her staff have all your needs covered...great bar/lounge & with a free breakfast who could ask for more!!!! Rooms are renovated, clean & beds are comfortable. Great price/value relationship!
The Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center is a very well managed property. The property offers a great amount of space to conduct a meeting or conference of a large magnitude. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The overall appearance is out dated but cleanly at the same time.
I have stayed at the Royal Plaza Hotel for trade shows and it has always been a very pleasant stay. The hotel is nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rates are very favorable and it includes a buffed breakfast that is both healthy and keeps you full for the rest of the day.
I always stay here for a trade show down the street, and its always a pleasure. The staff is what makes this place, they always recognize a familiar face. Deb Web, Sandra, and Anaan (sp?) are always making my stay better. Breakfast is a huge plus here, the hostess and waitress make it a very pleasant experience.
I stayed there for 20days, the check in staff, restaurants, bar, room service, I would love to thank everyone for their support and home welcoming to my family. Wish everyone the best of Luck and Hana misses you ALLL
A musty room odor and loud cycling of a/c unit blower made sleeping difficult in this somewhat dated hotel. Staff was very courteous and rooms seemed clean. Small microwave and mini fridge were available but closet storage was limited. Conference price was reasonable and the hotel is spacious with the trade center off site, which allows for a brisk walk or drive unless it's raining.
The staff were all helpful. The breakfasts offered many choices and were delicious. The water quality was great, and often there is a smell of mold in hotel water. We had several rooms for our family wedding and everyone had a good experience. We would stay here again if we traveled to Boston.
The hotel is well located in the surburbs of Boston so is great for someone who wishes to avoid the bustle of the city while on business but wishes to have a quiet related atmosphere to resort to each day. Great value, nice amenities such as the exercise room and the heated indoor swimming pool makes this a good location almost any season. The best part of this hotel is their quality free breakfast, and the very courteous staff that run it, from the head, I believe her name was Ayaan to every staff working there. Unfortunately, the same could not be said of everyone at the front desk. We had a defective coffee maker and my wife always needed that in the morning and at day's end. Needless to say of reporting this to the front desk the attitude of the staff there was quite dismissive, and then he promised to send someone to change it and just never did. Besides that small issue this is a great hotel that we will recommend readily.
Hotel had a lot to offer plus close to other places to eat and shop. Staff was well informed and helpful. Had information on local churches and shopping centers plus went the extra time to print information. All in all pleasant stay.
I have stayed at this hotel and worked with the staff in planning an art conference for several years. A great group of people to work with. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. They have gone out of their way to accommodate the unique needs of our organization.
This hotel was mediocre at best. I was traveling for a convention, and just booked this hotel because it was part of the convention. I would definitely stay off site and drive over next time. It is pretty old and out dated, and not especially well cared for. The elevator inspections were expired. The only good thing about the free breakfast was that it was free, and I got what I paid for. lol
My wife and I booked a room at this motel through Trip Advisor. The reservation was honored by the motel as reserved - no problems. Everything about the room was fine except the temperature. The air conditioner seemed to be disabled and nothing we tried could get it to function. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was great. No hot tub in the pool area.
We come every year in October for a painting convention and love having everything in one place! Wayland room needs to have their ceiling lights checked, some did not light and looked black. When we opened the sofa bed the sheets were wrinkled and had crumbs on them. We called housekeeping and asked for clean bedding and vacum cleaner... they came within 10 minutes and took care of it. The hotel is getting older and could use some sprucing up in the rooms that we were in. The employees are courteous and willing to help anytime. Nice breakfast, good number of elevators, convenient to shopping center.
Spent 3 nights there in October, 2016, attending a trade-show/expo and training event and came out very satisfied. First I was surprised by the size of the place. It can accommodate large events and have plenty of rooms to house the guests. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. Change of my departure date went smoothly and staff were helpful. My gratitude to John who provided me rides with hotel's shuttle to and from downtown Marlborough for attending annual Heritage Festival that was going on that weekend and was great. The rooms are clean and specious. They may have micro-wave and refrigerator (mine had) and the in-room coffee was good, actually very good. There is a good-sized indoor swimming pool, and the exercise room has plenty of machines and good selection of weights. In-room free wifi worked well, with minor occasional drop-offs. The restaurant and the bar were also tried and food was good. This may not be a 5-star luxury hotel but is very comfortable. I am very satisfied with my stay.
This hotel is amazing... free breakfast every morning with lots of different varieties.. but to top it all off our hostess was Ayanna she was very polite and good at her job. Such a friendly Lady and very helpful. Our experience here was excellent!
I searched a long time to find a cat-friendly hotel to stay at for my father's funeral services. Every other hotel I checked had more bad ratings than good ones. Best Western was the only one under $200 with 99% good ratings. Everything was so good: the room; the staff; the price; the quetnessof the room. The breakfast was so good with a very large number of hot and cold items that change daily and the staff was very frendly and attentive to make sure we had everything we needed.I can't say enough good things about this place. The pool was too cold to swim in but that wasn't very important as we weren't there for that anyway. Don't search any further for a hotel in this area. This is the one !
The sheets did not fit the bed at this hotel. We had to remake the bed each night. When we reported it to management, they half-heartedly apologized and said that the hotel was very busy that weekend. No compensation was offered to me, yet it was to other guests.
People at front desk upon arrival are very helpful and friendly. The rooms ar spacious and comfortable with room service availabe. Breakfast was in the restaurant with many offerings for the complimentary continentalbreakfast. I would definitely recomend this hotel for there are many things to do within walking distance.
Coffee is weak , Staff should all be on same page , if they are it doesn't show. The air conditioner in our room did not function very well . Did I happen to mention that the coffee is weak , weak , weak .
staff was friendly. directions were easy ! price was right and location was great restaurant on property was a great price.Lots of parking and shopping within walking distances and even more restaurants in walking distance.
This Best Western is not one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. run down, in need of serious renovating. Trying to get luggage carts through 2 straight doors for one person isn't an easy task. Need to put in automatic doors.. Attended a party and it was in the Trade Center. Not my idea of a venue to have a more classy party. (will take this up with my employer) More of a Camping, Home or Car show type venue. Overall, I will probably go home next time and not spend the money...
I stayed overnight, due to a meeting here; driving the night before let me sleep longer. I can't remember the last time I stayed at a Best Western and am now wondering why it's been so long. Everyone working here is great- helpful, friendly, and professional. Plenty of free parking and it is right there; you don't have a long walk or any dark areas to get to your car. Breakfast is free and has plenty of seating and options. I had the least expensive room and couldn't believe how large it was; full bath as well. My bed was very comfortable; so many hotels have terrible mattresses, but not here- slept VERY well on mine. I had neighbors, but did not hear them; I only knew I had them, as someone was leaving their room at the same time I was leaving mine. A lot of channel options on the tv. You control the temperature of the room, whether you like it cool or warm. My meeting was at Best Western and the room for it was comfortable; the chairs were also comfortable, thankfully, as it was a full day meeting. Lunch was delicious and the staff were very attentive. This is an annual meeting and I hope they have it here each time. When traveling, I will definitely stay at Best Western, due to my experience here!
Check in on Thurs. was a bit disturbing. The kids that were to check us in acted like they did not want to check us in. They were aloof. No greeting or how can the assist me. Very poor deportment. Missing water in rooms during conventions. Added free breakfast was an excellent idea.
This hotel was very nice. Comfortable and clean beds. Loved the shuttle to and from the Trade center. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was delicious! Its centrally located and easy access from the highway. Many restaurants around it as well as gas stations, and supermarket.
Booked one night business stay basically on price and was very pleased. Clean, courteous desk staff, friendly staff in bar/restaurant. Restaurant had a couple of groups of locals which is usually a good sign. Way better than average breakfast. Did not use the wifi. Heat/air was quiet and comfortable, big screen tv, what more could you want. I missed the turn-in first time by, the sign is not that big and it is a quiet off the road location so a little easy to miss. Would definitely stay there again.
I was scheduled to stay at this hotel for a contract job in the area for a few months. Everything from setting up the room and arrival was perfect. The nicest people I've encountered at a hotel. If you are staying for a long period of time in this area for business (or pleasure) I highly recommend this hotel. Extremely clean with good restaurants. Quiet peaceful nights sleep. Local area is nice with shopping and grocery stores and restaurants. I had a family emergency shortly after arrival and needed to leave right away. Sadly, things did not go well and I was not able to return for a few weeks. Every single person I spoke to or encountered was so kind, compassionate and understanding. They went above and beyond anything I could have expected from a hotel with hundreds of guests to take care of. They treated my items with respect and care until I could get back to get them. I can't thank the staff there enough for helping to make such a difficult time less stressful.
Hotel doesn't look like much (except very large for a Best Western) and is dated, but very clean at a great price. The breakfast was great (whether hot or continental, there was plenty of food and options). The restaurant was ok, but there were plenty of dining options in the area. The elevators were slower than molasses - that would be our only complaint. Perfect accommodations if traveling with a sports team (as we were).
I came here to visit a relative who lived in Worcester for college. Since Boston was a little more east, I decided to stay in Marlborough which was a lot closer. The hotel was bigger than I expected in a nice simi wooded location. I liked that. The front of the hotel and the lobby area gave a great presentation. The rooms were a little outdated yet very decent and the housekeepers did an OUTSTANDING job with cleaning the room. The hotel provided an all you can eat buffet breakfast which was really great. Special thanks to Jeff, at the Zachary's restaurant. He did a SUPER job with assisting my family and I with breakfast. It was great to have him as a server! I didn't get a chance to see the hotel amenities but I was told they were nice. Overall, this has been the best, Best Western hotel I've stayed in. The hotel was very nice with great staff and the breakfast buffet was better than any other Best Western (and I've stayed in quite a few) I've stayed in. I will definitely stay here again!
My youngest off to college... It was important for the "whole" family to come - including our Pomeranians. Not only were the staff friendly and helpful to us, they went overboard making our Poms feel welcome. This stressful move from Miami became a joyous family get-together. The rooms were clean and accommodating. The delicious daily breakfasts were awesome. Kudos to John (front desk) and Jeff (restaurant) for being extra helpful. We did not feel like we were at a hotel at all. Our family were truly at "home". Thank you!
While the hotel itself was clean, the rooms need some updating, as well as the lobby. When we opened the cabinet to get the bedding out for the pull-out bed, the bedding was all rolled up and shoved in the cabinet. Had to get housekeeping to come and bring new bedding. Morning buffet very good, and dining room employees very nice.
Had the Pleasure of staying at this property 24 August 2016. Having been in the travel industry for years I am well aware that it is not just the Physical Amenities which forge my opinion of same. I am staying an extra night at this Best Western Royal Plaza in Middleboro MA because of the Staff. The first night around 10 pm I was looking for some late night snacks for my room. Oscar the Food and Beverage Mgr. who was leaving for the night, stopped took care of our needs on his own time. Much thanks. Follow this excellent service by the two Personnel at the front desk, Joanne, and Cameron who made sure that everything we had requested was handled properly. We really had a choice of a different property, but choose to stay here because of the Excellent Service. Much thanks to a Wonderful Staff. Bob
This Best Western comes with a great staff from the front desk to the kitchen/dining to housekeeping. They are in the process of renovating all the guest rooms and they provide a mini-fridge which makes it ideal for longer stays. The sandwiches served during the lunch hour of the conference were tasty and varied. Everyone is so helpful and friendly we thought we were back in Texas!!!!
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was very clean, and the bar, restaurant, pool, and fitness center were convenient and appreciated. We would definitely recommend this hotel and book again in the future.
I have stayed at this hotel in the past, but this time I just attended the NGH convention. When I needed a late night ride to my Hotel, because the shuttles had stopped running that night, the staffer, Debi Webb gave me a lift in her own vehicle. I am very grateful!
I recently had to go to Marlboro for business & stayed overnight at this facility. It was very clean, the hotel was well maintained, the facilities looked excellent, even though I didn't have the opportunity to use them, but the customer service was not what I would expect from a facility this nice. When I checked in the clerk was very scant on details & almost acted as if it was a nuisance to check me in! When I checked out, the clerk was pleasant enough, but failed to ask me how my visit was. If he did, I would have told him that I could hear EVERYTHING in the next room! With that said, I can only give 3 stars, but if I ever have to stay in the area again, I would definitely stay here again & hope that they do some sound-proofing of the rooms!
The service, food quality and staff has been drastically upgraded at the Best Western Royal Plaza. I've been staying at this location for several years for a conference and this year was the best yet! Rather than take out or using other restaurants, I was able to dine on premises! Thank you!!
While at the upper end of my budget... I could not have expected more service, either quantity nor quality, at any price. I was and am Delighted with the entire Deal from registration to check Out. I will make use of this facility whenever I am in Marlborough.
And don't even try to make or receive a call (probably not the hotel's fault.) Understaffed in the restaurant and bar (and likely, in the kitchen). Bad wine, and if you did find one you liked, it was gone by the next day.
The food seemed to be great this year and as always, the hotel staff is extremely accommodating. Talk to Sean, Lola or Debi in the lounge, Kristen at the front, Jeff & Sandra and the F & B manager Arthur. All great people.
The Hotel was overall good. I stayed there for a conference. There were only two problems. The first was that the walls were so thin that I could hear the conversation of the people in the next room as if they were in my bathroom. The other problem was bigger. The fire alarms went off in the middle of the night but I slept through most of it because there was nothing in the room to wake you up. Other people on my floor never knew the fire alarms went off until I told them the next morning. That could be dangerous .
This hotel sits way off the main road so it is very quiet. There is plenty of parking which is free. Check in was quick and easy, we actually had enough points to earn a free night. Normally, the rate for our 2 bed room would be about $140. The exterior of the building and lobby area seem a little outdated. We were in room 418 which was clean and comfortable and recently updated. I have 2 complaints about this room: A/C didn't seem to cool the room very well (set to 63 and still not very cool) and the fridge was very small, smaller than most hotel fridges. We ate dinner at the All Star Bar & Grill. I ordered the beef tips and mashed potatoes and my friend had salmon, fries and veggies. The food was great but the service was a little slow. The waitress didn't speak English very well, so ordering our food was a little difficult. While we waited for our food, a man, possibly the manager, kept yelling at the waitstaff across the dining area in front of the few patrons. For breakfast the next morning we ate at Zachary's (another restaurant in the hotel). The food was served buffet style and consisted of scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon. The food was great as well as the service. Our server was very attentive and friendly.
I stay at a lot of hotels, have 3 kids that play travel hockey. This hotel has a nice, clean lobby with a fun restaurant/bar. The rooms DEFINITELY need a face lift. And the breakfast room has an extremely rude hostess. I actually left and paid for breakfast somewhere else. (I had complimentary breakfast buffet.) That is how rude she was!! Not sure I would stay there again if I had the choice.
I attended the NGH convention there in August 2016. Since it was the convention hotel, I stayed there for the ability to have a room where the convention was. The elevators didn't seem to be air conditioned. The hallways on the 5th floor were hot. Some of the meeting rooms were hot. I'm used to hotels that have a microwave and refrigerator. This one didn't have either. The elevators were slow to respond and one of them made noises and wouldn't move. Fortunately, the door open button worked and we took another elevator. I tried to check in early, and each time was told to try back in a few hours. Finally at 5 o'clock (check in time is 4 and my room still wasn't ready) I was offered a room with a king size bed instead of the two queens. I took it. The room was clean, breakfast was good, the staff was professional and helpful, the price was right. Don't expect steak at hamburger prices. Ken
The hotel is outdated but do not let that stop you from staying here. If you are budget conscience and want a fair night's sleep for a reasonable price pick the BW Royal Plaza. The staff is attentive and the rooms are pretty basic but are clean and it is a rather quite hotel. There are two onsite restaurants and the location is close to a strip mall if you wish to go out for a meal.
Overall pretty much satisfied - double beds are too small for two people - should of got queen - took about 1 hour to get into Boston on a Monday, left at about 8:30 - very clean and cheaper than other places.
We came to this hotel for a nephew's wedding and we had a large number of rooms. Our accommodations were excellent and the hotel was great across the board. Would definitely use them again if in the area!
We stayed here because of the proximity to the NESC. The common area was lovely, the free breakfast was very good. The first room we got was in dire need of updating. Everything was scuffed and banged-up looking. The toilet was inoperative, and after determining it wasn't immediately fixable, we were moved to another room. The second room was less tired but still could have used an update. My biggest issue with the room was that it was extremely dark. Instead of exterior windows, it opened into the courtyard, so if we wanted daylight we had to sacrifice privacy. Staff was for the most part very friendly and helpful. Room service completely botched our order but was very apologetic and brought a corrected order immediately. For the location and condition of the facility, I felt like it was overpriced.
This hotel has the right idea it allowed our group and others to visit in the lobby area that had tables set up. This was a very nice and no people were sitting in halls and rooms disturbing people. The breakfast included with our stay was wonderful. The rooms were large clean and well maintained. I would have preferred queen beds in the room as opposed to doubles which many hotels seem to be doing now a days.
We stayed at this wonderful hotel. It presents well when you first step in. You almost think you are in the wrong place. Great value. We were only passing through but was worth our while. Great food, great staff. When you see the sign, make sure you continue at the back of all the trees. It's a big place!
We were very satisfied with the room and services the hotel offered to us. We will definitely consider staying here again. The rooms were clean. The breakfast had great selections. We also enjoyed the fitness area.
Everything was wonderful. I would've love to see laying chairs for tanning at pool. Breakfast was delicious, rooms clean; area with restaurants. I stayed for baseball tournament and unfortunately, there is no laundry facilities :(
I recently visited thr Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center for the NEAC show 6/12-14. I was greeted, treated & welcomed by the warm, friendly & professional staff as family would be. It continues to be my experience each visit. Debi Webb and her crew go the extra mile with a smile!
This Hotel is in a great location, There are restaurants, shops and more near by. The hotel has great indoor pool, Gym, great FREE break fast and the STAFF is great. EVERYTHING is new and upgraded in the hotel
Stay at a lot of hotels, this was the worst. Ants in rooms, mould in bottom of ice bin, air conditioner did not work well, had to continually ask for our room to be cleaned. $149 US per night-it's not worth $49/night.
The hotel was relatively convenient to get to from the highway. The food at the restaurant was good and so was the service. The air conditioning unit was ancient and made loud noises. There was no thermostat in the room and it was not very efficient so the room was uncomfortable.
my wife and i along with my son stayed for 3 nights ..he had his own room shared with 2 other boys....my review is for my wife and i ...the breakfast was good with plenty of choices...we both would have liked lounge chairs outside by the pool as well as tables with umbrellas ..also a few benches outside as the weather was so nice...all of the staff was very nice and helpful
The staff at this hotel were truly exceptional, from check-in to restaurant to housekeeping. Clientele was mostly seniors and youth hockey teams, and they were kind and accommodating to everyone. Our room was clean and comfortable, although furnishings were tired (not dirty, just old). Smoke detector was positioned DIRECTLY over the bed - in the dark, the neon green status light on the unit cast a green glow almost bright enough to read with directly onto the pillows. It was so hot in the hallways that the room number tags were falling off the doors. Unfortunately, the wonderful staff could not overcome the fact that the property is in desperate need of a MAJOR facelift - still lots of forest green and oak, if you get my drift. Most importantly, for business travelers like myself and my husband, there was NO CELL service for us T-mobile users - we had 0 bars. The Wi-Fi was free, and my phone is equipped with Wi-Fi calling, but could only use this feature right next to the window; anywhere else in the room, the calls broke up. The "business center" connect speeds were so slow, I felt like I would hear that dreaded dial-up connection sound any second. Best Western really needs to invest big time in this property so that the brick and mortar can match the enthusiasm of an obviously dedicated staff.
We have been coming to this hotel each year for over 10 years, for a group convention. Each year we have received the highest level of customer service from all the staff at the hotel as well as the trade center. They are so accommodating of our needs and special requests. They are prompt, helpful, cheerful, and extremely responsive. This includes their front desk staff, housekeeping staff and food and banquet staff. This hotel truly has exceptional staff who provide the best possible customer service.
This hotel needs to be rennovated! The hallways are hote and the elevators are spooky. Very surprised by a Best Western. The food was inedible. Room serve messed up my order and then corrected it but it was bad. I would not recommend this hotel.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. However, when I was reading information online about booking a stay, it said that the breakfast buffet was included. Well, I found out at breakfast that it was not. I was walking out and was stopped by the woman at the register who then told me that I had to pay because I did not have a ticket. It was rather embarrassing. She was nice about it ,though.
We enjoyed our stay the pool and game room helped entertain our son. The room was spacious and the kingsize bed was comfortable. We had no issue. The only improvement would be is to have organic options at breakfast.
We were delighted with the room, staff, and amenities at BW. There were 4 of us and they were able to accommodate us nicely. We were thankful that they were slightly hard to locate since we had tried other hotels in the area and all were booked or over priced. We would definitely stay here again.
All staff were extremely happy, friendly and helpful. They helped accomodate our gluten free needs with a smile. As well, they were very personable. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Room was clean, housekeeping did a great jobs. Only issue at all was that walls are a bit thin and some noise filtered through. Morning breakfast that was part of the room cost was complete with eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, cereals, fruit, yogurt and pastries -- something for everyone.
Very disappointed with the front desk and their lack of knowledge in checking us in and out. We were there a week ago and things are still not settled with our credit card charges. I feel that our group should be reimbursed completely for the trouble and inconvenience we have had.
Lobby is good, but the rest of thr place is tired and dated. Booked through Pricline and when my room was ratty, outdated and tired, and I asked for another room, I was told that because I booked on Priceline I could not get an updated room. If I would pay another $30 he would give me a renovated room. Wow.
Attended a conference here in June. Great event, but facility was too small to accommodate the number of attendees. Meals had to be served in multiple locations and there wasn't a seat to be found. Ayaan the restaurant manager opened the bar area to accommodate the overflow and my colleagues and I were very grateful.
probally the best hot breakfast buffet ever! beautiful fountains, bar and restrant food.rooms very comfie and large with fridge n microwave in room coffee.it was the perfect stay all around and lower cost than most in the area. my new fav place to stay in the area
Good hotel for business trip. Great breakfast. Positive staff at reception and especially breakfast. Rooms are ok. Shopping center nearby. Bar and restaurant. Big parking area. Blabla to fill the 200 letters trip advisors requests. Still not long enough :-)
I planned 3 days of meetings here for a group of 45 employees with my company. There were 4 people at the front desk when I arrived, none of who greeted or offered to help me check-in. I spent the majority of my time NOT in the meetings, rather chasing the staff to clean up, refresh, attend to our needs as per our contract. One of my employees' room was moved mid stay without any notification to him or myself. Service was slow. Many of the other meeting rooms around us, being used by other companies had several people standing and sitting in the hallways. It looked extremely unprofessional and was a major distraction to our group. Many of my employees reported issues with their room keys on multiple occasions. Overall, not a pleasant experience and we will not be returning for business or pleasure in the future.
The staff was very friendly through out the hotel. It's a great value for all the accommodations it has. The lounge/ and fitness center were very nice. There was a pool which I did not utilize but may next time. The Breakfast and it's staff were excellent, was not expecting a full breakfast.
To whom it may concern, My name is Bob Lynn and I'm associated with the International Kenpo Council of Grandmasters. We just had our annual event, and I have to say that the customer service was exemplary, the food was great, the young man who bartended is awesome, just like every year. This time, your food and beverage/banquet supervisor, Debi Webb went above and beyond to assure that the entire event went seamless. We had a few administrative snafus, and once Debi heard of it, she sprang into action, saving the day ! I have to say that if I go to this event, and she's not there, I don't feel the comfort and totality of true customer service....always with a sincere smile. She really is better than exemplary !!! I for one am already looking forward to next years festivity....with the knowledge that we know things will be excellent. Thank you very much, Bob Lynn, Grandmaster/ IKCG Kenposhihan@comcast.net
I use this Hotel for one reason and one reason only - Deb Webb. She is the most professional, accommodating service industry professional I have ever dealt with. I'm not even sure what her Title is because I've seen her help with banquets, rooms, business center and even help at the bar! Companies dream of employees like this. You can tell she truly understands and loves her job. We're already looking forward to next year! Steve Nugent; IKCG President
Hospitality, convenience of shops, bus parking, hotel bar, restaurant and breakfast were amazing, room was super spacious, no charge on microwave and fridge with request. Room coffee was actually tasty. We stayed as 13 families (42ppl) travelling as a hockey team (7year olds) from Canada to Boston the hotel experience was amazing and accommodating for the kids. I did not use the pool the kids did said it was small but very good.
A late night check-in at 10:00 PM and we were assigned Room 213. The room has dirty carpets and small window that you'll feel like you are in a dungeon. A junky and dented refrigerator had been delivered when we requested. The TV cabinet had one broken door and the main door had been recklessly pulled out. A bathroom sink does not drain and needed to be service at that late night. I have paid for a DELUXE Room and not STANDARD. There's nothing DELUXE in the room we were assigned. Our requests to be transfered to another room had been declined until after the following day. I really feel that the front desk people forget that they are still a service industry. They keep on asking me to come back (3 times) until they assign me a room. Too many inaccuracies in my bill when I check out. They increase my rate in my second night when I transferred room. I fortunately discovered and have it corrected but I have to have my credit card customer service document the conversation in order for the bill to be corrected. There was some additional charges/adjustment that does not make sense. This have been one DISASTROUS vacation. Best Western will not be a priority in choosing a hotel in a near future regardless of price.
Sean was the best bartender/breakfast server. The rest of the staff was very pleasant as well...It would be worth while to have a security guard monitoring the property when there are that many hundreds of kids running around. They were stealing from a wedding parties food which was set up in the main lobby and running around with hockey sticks with no parents around
We had a great stay at this property. My family was in town for a hockey tournament. The hotels location in relations to sports facilities is excellent. Furthermore there is a mall nearby should you require it. The staff is very friendly, prompt, and their attention to detail is noticeable. The beds are a little small in width, but cots are available, the elevators can also be slow during busy times. I requested stair access since we were on the second floor and the stair door was locked (not locked when coming down) unlocking of this door would allow less congestion on the elevators. I had direct interaction with Debi (Food and Beverage Manager). If you have any concerns about your stay, talk to Debi and they'll be resolved, she is an excellent communicator and demonstrates a general concern for her guests. This hotel was perfect for our needs for this trip.
I had reserved a room with two double beds for two nights over the weekend. I thought it was odd that the Hotel had rooms with a King bed, Queen bed, or two Doubles - two Queens was not an option. I am a very tall person and was a little worried about the bed length. I was able to sleep comfortably on the bed (the bed and I are both 75"), but wouldn't recommend it for two large adults. Two children should have no problem sleeping on this size bed. We arrived at the Hotel around 10pm on a Friday night and I was able to find a good parking spot, despite the large number of cars in the lot. The inside of the lobby was very well lit and spacious, with a fountain in the center area. I was quickly checked in and able to find my room very easily. I believe the hotel is 6 stories tall and it had 4 elevators in the lobby. There was rarely a wait for the elevator, despite a number of conventions going on. The outside and inside of the hotel appeared to be very clean and in good shape. In my room, I had a flatscreen TV with a microwave and a mini fridge hidden in the dresser. The bathroom had a large mirror, granite counter and was clean. We had plenty of towels and a coffee maker with plastic cups wrapped in plastic. The desk and side table both had extra outlets on them, which made it convenient for charging our electrical devices. Our view from the room was a wooded area in the back of the hotel. I had no issues with any noise from outside or from other rooms. The breakfast buffet here is probably one of the best I've been to. I was told the hours run from 6am to 11am, so even if you had a very late night, one can still take advantage of the breakfast. The presentation of the food is excellent. The food was kept hot, without drying it out. The hot foods varied each day. One day we had scrambled eggs (with green onion, although it looks like green peppers), sausage, bacon, breakfast potatoes, pancakes wrapped around an apple filling (with hot syrup). The next day we had french toast, instead of pancakes. The cereal option isn't that great from a kids perspective - Raisan Bran, Rice Krispies, Cheerios and Corn Flakes. There were pitchers filled with Orange Juice, Apple juice, Canberry juice, water. There were also enclosed pitchers of milk, but I didn't see any labels that said regular or 2% or non-fat. There were plenty of pastries, like muffins, donuts (didn't taste fresh, but still good). Bread for toast, bagels, yogurt and fresh fruit was available. The coffee was a little disappointing. There are real plates and silverware available to eat with, but the bowls are plastic. The area where the breakfast is served is very nice, my daughter wanted to sit next to the fountain, which added to the experience. The one nice thing about the breakfast is there are plenty of tables and space, so you don't have to worry about finding a good table or have to get there at 6am just to eat in peace. We had a very nice and enjoyable breakfast both mornings we were there. We tried the indoor pool and discovered that it was not heated. I would guess the temperature of the pool being somewhere in the mid 70's. My son and I did not like the fact that the pool wasn't heated, my daughter could care less. We usually swim for hours in the pool, but because it was so cold we left after an hour and never went back. The fitness room, was next to pool and a restroom. The fitness room had 2 flatscreen TV's, one with a baseball game on and the other had what looked like the local news. I believe there were 4 walking treadmills (very nice and up to date models), stationary bikes, weight lifting stations, etc. The hotel had a restaurant and bar, which we did not use. They did look very appealing though, just didn't have time to check them out. The lobby had an ATM next to the gift shop and an arcade with decent games next to the pool. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel, but you will need to drive to them. The hotel is way back at the end of a road, so its quite a walk to the main road where all the business' are located. The service from all the staff was great, I had no problems whenever I needed something. Checking in and out was very quick and easy. Overall, the hotel looked very spacious, nice and clean, no smelly odors or funny smells. The grounds looked well kept and well lit at night. I had a very good time staying at this hotel, the staff were very helpful and courteous. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others to stay here as well.
Hotel was ok - within budget. Rooms were tired (dark plaid decor) and in desperate need of a makeover. Beds were not the most comfortable. Staff were courteous and professional. Breakfast was included so that was a nice plus.
I began my review above ! The facility was clean, and staff was very nice and helpful.. the water in the pool was freezing. ( disappointing w/ young grand child ). also there was only one luggage cart for 500 rooms, the breakfast was good, an distaff very nice. the beds were small but comfortable. close to alot of restaurants .
I stayed 3 nights at the Royal Plaza for a convention at the nearby Trade Center. Every staff member with whom I came in contact impressed me with his/her courtesy, friendliness, and helpfulness. The room was clean and quite comfortable. I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The food was delicious and well-presented. I would recommend the Royal Plaza for your next stay in the metro-Boston/Worcester area.
It was only one night but it was great from the front desk to the breakfast in the morning!. The beds were so comfortable that we almost missed the complimentary breakfast the next morning. Highly recommended!!
Aayan always makes me feel at home, very professional and super sweet, deserves a raise, no doubt about that, works very hard, and she always making sure everything is running smoothly, polite, respectful,
Excellent place to stay. Freindly helpful staff. Very good restaurant and breakfast bar. Power outage in the morning, but no problem as the standby generator kicked in immediately to supply minimum power for washrooms, ahllway lighting and elevators! Only complaint is it was hard to find in the dark! Could use better signeage and directions.GPS stopped you at main street, you need to follow the winding street all the way until you get there!
I have stayed at a number of BW hotels in the USA in the past month or so. I have given them ratings of at least very good. This one did not get that rating for only one reason. The hotel itself is nicely appointed, the lobby is attractive and the room decor and comfort was nice. However, the staff needs to be more diligent about cleaning the bathtub. The hardness of the water creates soap scum. My room had it in the bathtub. Not sure about other rooms. The cleaning maintenance staff needs to correct this as it is not very attractive!
The rooms were clean and comfortable without the extra amenities. An extra fee per night was required if a refrigerator/microwave combo was desired. There is a small pool and workout room, no Jacuzzi. Complimentary free breakfast was well supplied.
I thought the overall stay itself was enjoyable, but the older woman working at the front desk was extremely rude. She was rude when I asked for a receipt for the hotel stay, as I needed to turn it in for reimbursement. She lacked people skills, which I feel is extremely necessary in a hotel service. Other than that, the stay was wonderful.
Our jobs connect us with companies that hold a lot of meetings at this hotel, so convenience is a huge consideration when booking accommodations. The meeting room was not properly cleaned from first day to second. Sleeping room had an odd musty smell and overlooked the trash dumpster and delivery area, where workers shouted to one another in early morning. Sheets and bedspreads were "wrinkly" leaving us to wonder if they were appropriately clean/fresh. Prepared "Buffet lunch" in lounge was our only option at mid-day since company did not provide lunch. Complimentary breakfast and service were exceptionally good. Internet service was sporadic at best, and at times unavailable.
Responsive and friendly staff. Jeff in the dining room is the most amazing server ever. Fun bar atmosphere and good conference facilities. Room was only given 3 stars because, though clean, they really need to update their linens especially bedspreads.
Want to give a shout out to your restaurants hostess and waitress. Thank you to Sandra and Ayaan for helping us with great service even in between the craziness of a huge event with more then the hotel was prepared for. Probably should have brought on more staff for a few nights. Thanks again.
Hotel needs to be cleaned up. Hotel is run down, unclean hallways, worn out bed linens and overall not a pleasant place to stay. Will be looking for alternative hotel for my next trip in. Its a shame as its the host hotel for the NEAC Trade show and very convenient.
Debi Webb and her staff make sure to make each & every guest feel welcome. Always friendly, professional & accommodating no matter how busy!! Shrimp cocktail and a glass of Hidden Crush chardonnay... A perfect way to unwind after a long day at the show. Thank you for making us feel at home away from home!
I stay here for 6 nights several times a year. My room is modern and very clean. The staff at the front desk always meets my needs with a smile. The breakfast is excellent and servers go out of their way in preparing my meal.
This is the 15th year that I've attended a Conference at Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel. Clean rooms, very friendly and welcoming staff and great breakfast. Comfortable beds, Check in/out was easy and efficient. All staff were attentive, friendly and eager to help. Easy access from the highway. I've recommended the Best Western to friends. Will definitely visit again.
My truck broke down, BW came to the shop and got me and took me back. Morning buffet was wonderful. Staff was friendly and happy. Ayann in Zachary's was helpful and friendly. Room was fine, clean and ready to go. Will stay here whenever I break down in this part of Mass.
This hotel needs a serious update with it's decor. I thought I was stepping into the 90s when I entered the room and looked at the bedspread. Despite its shabby appearance, the room was very clean. The hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful as well. I stayed for a conference and found the accommodations acceptable. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of a shopping plaza which I enjoyed. I was able to grab snack at the local grocery store and eat Chipotle when I was not interested in the conference luncheon. It's not somewhere I would recommend to new/potential business associates by any means but it serves it's purpose.
Check in was not as friendly as most hotel. Had to stand there several minutes before being acknowledged by 2 guest services reps. The rep talked so fast I could barely understand him, like he couldn't be bothered. No frig in room, Tiny beds with old bedspreads. Bathroom was clean and decent, but the door looked like it was from the 60's and in need of at least sanding and painting. Hallways were dark and dingy. Had a drink at hotel bar which was empty but still looked a mess - dishes on bar, un-vacuumed, Breakfast was complimentary breakfast buffet, which was decent. Took 5 minutes to be acknowledged and seated, even though a bus boy (man) walked by us and looked right at us. Waitress was nice but her shirt was so old and stained it was really unappealing before eating. Would not stay again.
Very comfy and luxurious enough. The room on the 6th floor was so nice and peaceful. The only thing is that if I worked there as a cleaning staff, the tub would be without stains and the toilet showed signs of stopping to work. But they are fixable. No other complaints. Everything else was very positive.
Hotel staff doesn't care! Room were not clean and anyone can charge a bill to your Hotel Room. Staff did not care, when a problem arose they did not do anything to solve the problem. Not a first rate hotel.
The establishment was very well kept. The staff was always kind and considerate even when dealing with a high stress weekend. Able to enjoy my self without any concern for possible issues with the hotel. Everything was provided to me as promised. Check in and Check out was extremely easy and fast. Staff was always cordial
This restaurant was extremely understaffed for large crowd ComiCon this past weekend. I had a reservation for 40 people and they had not set aside the space requested,. They had one or two waitresses for the entire restaurant. It took an hour to get drinks. After two hours 3/4 of the group had to leave to eat elsewhere. Food that was received was cold. Trays of orders were set on counters and not brought to the table. They failed to bring in servers to deal with the crowds. We would not make this our location for meals again.
We stayed at the Best Western for Super MegaFest. The hotel was right next to the convention center which made it very convenient. We liked the pool and the restaurant food was excellent although it was slow service so we tried the buffet the next night which was good but also waited a while for that to be refilled. Our room was very clean and nice, but a little worn. The shower was nice though and the towels big and fluffy. I would definitely stay here again. We were not told that breakfast did not come with our package though so that was disappointing.
The Royal Plaza Hotel is a great place to stay. It's right next to some great restaurants within walking distance. The cleanliness, service, and atmosphere are good. I will certainly stay there again.
The room was nice although had issues with internet service. Very pleasant staff. Restaurant was disorganized and unreliable. Food was fine but waited too long to be seated and buffet was late being set up
This is the second time we stayed at this location for the SuperMegaFest. The staff is great. Even though the hotel was "crazy" busy, everyone, from the front desk to the restaurants, was friendly and courteous. I would like to mention the names of the staff members who made our visit that much nicer: Cameron - front desk. Ayann, Debby, and Jeff at Zachary's, Sandra at All Star. We remembered Debby, Ayann, and Jeff from last year and were so glad to see them again. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful and hard working staff.
The room etc was god, The staff at the restaurant were very slow, We sat for 20 min before waiter came over to us. The buffet food was ok, not great. The conference rooms worked well for the events being held for my convention.
After not seeing my sister for over a year and wanting to spend some time together but having a full house we wanted some place quiet where we could spend quality time. This location was perfect for us...2 double beds in the room, a restaurant to enjoy a nice quiet dinner with a glass of wine and a fantastic place for breakfast (best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel!!)...clean and spacious....my only negative comment would have to relate to the woman who checked us out in the morning. She was arguing with a guest when we came up on the reception desk....he surrendered and sat down to try to text his wife because the desk was telling him something completely different about their check-out than the wife had told and and she continued to be augmentative with us. We walked away rather than continue to argue with someone who could not even consider she might be wrong. She told us she would be in touch once she "worked something out with corporate"...and she did leave a message for my sister basically saying my sister was right and "ate crow" without ever actually apologizing. If you are at the front desk...learn customer service or find another job!!
The motel was not easy to find. The staff upon arrival was cordial. The room was clean and next to another family members room which was good. The heater in the room was very noisy and had to be turned off at night so we could sleep. The bar/lounge was very nice as the wait staff were excellent. Kayla was awesome! And Sandra was courteous and friendly.
A nice hotel really. I was there for a conference with my wife and we are satisfied with most everything. But I only rated this property with 3 stars. It could have been a four except for the little things the management left undone. Fixtures out in hallways; Annoying flickering lights in the ballroom; food on the restaurant floor that staff just walked over; somewhat disappointing, luke-warm breakfast (including the luke-warm coffee); our cocktail hour with 250 participants in the lobby/foyer was short about 200 seats and I thought $4 for a 6 oz. glass of ginger ale was a bit steep
This was a really good place to stay. Very clean and extremely friendly staff. The breakfast was outstanding. The restaurant staff was accommodating and the food was really good. The room I stayed in was big and conformable. The WiFi was fast. I liked that I had both a deck to work at and a large chair to lounge in.
When I called to make reservation (bc BW's website wouldn't make it) they told me the rate on the website was for their non-remodeled rooms (no fridge, no new carpet, bathroom not redone), I was worried. But the room was fine and even the bathroom seemed new. My son loved the pool (said it was warm) and my daughter liked the work out room. You get a breakfast ticket in their restaurant and they serve you your drinks. They had hot item (not just the pancake or waffle machine) buffet. Also the normal cold items. I felt bad that I didn't have any money to leave as tip. We will likely choose this hotel again if my son goes to school in Boston.
Recently finished a 10 month, 5 days a week stay at this hotel for business. It was very nice :) The staff, including Deb Webb, Arthur, Stephie, Sean, Molly, Jenn, Eric and others were simply amazing. Top notch! The bar/restaurant has a decent selection of food and drinks. The hotel has a nice pool, but no hot tub, so I can't rate it 10/10. I would absolutely stay here again.
Very pleased with the ADA room at this Best Western. There was plenty of room to move around in an electric wheelchair. A roll-in shower made transfer to a clean, comfortable shower bench easy. Bars in the bathroom made toilet transfer safe. Very pleased with the accommodations. We also attended a gathering in one of the larger banquet rooms. The food was exceptional and the staff was great. Very nice evening.
Facility needs a total remodel and particularly the restaurant/food selection. Altho used frequently as a central hotel for trade shows, they cannot handle a large crowd in the lounge/bar area, nor were they able to correctly operate drink stations in the general evening sessions. In the future, I will stay at a different hotel nearby.
I have stayed in many hotels in the past 20+ years. This hotel in my opinion has one of the best and friendliest staff members I can recall at any other hotel! I can say that if you are ever need a hotel in this area you won't be disappointed. Great customer service, food, and staff!
Had a great stay here last weekend! Debi Webb and the staff at this hotel (including their bartender Sean) provided us with Top Notch service and excellent dining recommendations in the area. Was pleasantly surprised by how nice the food and amenities were at this particular establishment.
An amazing hotel with all the amenities. Free full breakfast was fantastic and freshly made. Orange juice was amazing. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Not much more to say, just a nice place to stay with fully equipped and comfortable rooms at an affordable price.
My wife, son and I stayed here for a hockey tournament. The hotel was in good shape. The highlight of the stay was the staff. Patti and Jeff bent over backwards during breakfast service to get us anything we needed. They were very friendly. I would stay there anytime.
I want to give a huge shout out to the waitresses and hostess working the buffet. They are so hard working and efficient. THANK YOU LADIES! The hotel was clean and all the staff were professional. We held an event there so many of our friends stayed the night, every one was very happy with their stay.
This hotel is like many other nice hotels providing good service and clean comfortable rooms. The staff is friendly and service is very nice....but THE RESTAURANT STAFF IS AMAZING!! From the moment we arrive until we leave, the restaurant staff are the reason we keep going back to this hotel. Try it, you will see for yourself. They have a pleasant attitude and a great sense of humor. We love them!
so great majestic entrance in lobby. very nice and clean. great staff and def. make you feel comfortable and welcome. Rooms are very very outdated. Bed was so so. dont like the comforters. Bathroom was clean but again old outdated stuff. so wasn't too impressed with the room. thank god i was only here for 1 night.
We rented an "upgraded" room for a slightly higher rate which looked very much like a regular hotel room, but all in all, it was nice. The room was clean with the basic amenities and the bed was very comfortable. I was surprised, however, that there were no safes in the individual hotel rooms. If one was needed, there was a safe available behind the lobby desk. My traveling companions put some valuables in that safe, but upon checkout, forgot to retrieve their belongings. Therefore, we had to return to the hotel. Luckily, we hadn't gone too far before they remembered. We suggested to one of the hotel employees that as regular procedure they should ask guests if they have anything in the safe. The employee seemed to think this was a good idea. Other than that, everything went smoothly.
Have been here 3 times in the last year. Clean and convenient. Breakfast that is included in the room is a real bonus. If you are lucky enough to have Jeff as your waiter you will be taken care of like you were at home. He is the best.
Very nice hotel, completely satisfied!! I look forward to coming back to the area. I will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. Great value, courteous staff, very clean one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.
Several of us arrived at this Hotel for storm restoration work through National Grid. While we were out restoring electricity, Nat Grid made a decision to combine and move rooms. Rather than waiting until we arrived back at the hotel, they decided to clear out our existing rooms (6 of them) and our personal belongings, bags, clothes, etc. etc.... Virginia was the housekeeper in charge of this very uncomfortable situation. She divided the rooms and belongings based on the obvious and any misc. belongings were placed in plastic laundry bags and tied up. She took the extra step to place handwritten tags on each of our bags with our room number. She placed 3 rooms on a cart and the carts went into the office. Some of us had some valuable items and others were frazzled that our personal belongings were moved. It's a clear violation of privacy and while it may have been mandated by National Grid, Hotel policy should have handled the situation differently (we had a DO NOT DISTURB on our door). They should have waited until we got back to the hotel and then we could have moved ourselves. The hotel management was WRONG for putting Virginia into the uncomfortable situation of cleaning out rooms that were occupied and going to remain occupied for multiple days. However, this review is not based on hotel Management. I just wanted to give a shout out to Virginia in Housekeeping because of the care and concern in which she packed up our belongings and made sure everything was taken care of. We weren't missing anything... we thought there was a charger missing but it was found in a bag. Thank YOU Virginia for going the extra mile! We can't thank you enough. As far as the Hotel, SHAME ON YOU for putting this wonderful employee of yours into such an awkward position. You should have waited for your occupants to move themselves (it wasn't an emergency). The rest of the staff at the Hotel were fantastic. Thank you Jenn, Mary and the other ladies at the front desk.
Each conference room was clean, water was cold, and the refreshments were excellent. The chocolate chip cookies were right out of the oven!! My hotel room was extremely clean. Check in and out was quick and easy!
This hotel is very old. While it is quite large, you would think the hotel would be more than what you get. The power was off an entire day I was there, the staff did nothing to inform guests of the issue. The hotel was not in good condition on the inside, especially the 6th floor. It was smelly and musty. Very unsatisfied. You get what you pay for.
The staff was professional, helpful, and answered any questions I had. My only issue is that the hotel does need some cosmetic updates. The decor was nice, but could have been a bit more modern. Everything was very clean, the king size bed and pillows were really comfortable! You are very close to Rt. 20 where there are many restaurants and shopping, that is a huge plus. I was there for an overnight conference for work. The Food & Beverage staff at my meeting were great; the food was filled, fresh items were brought out to replenish things, and they asked myself & my colleagues if they could get us anything. They were great!
The hotel is quite old and the rooms are unclean. The machines at the gym are broken. There is nothing special about this hotel but the location is very good (many services near). The staff is nice as long as you have no requests/complaints (e.g. receiving only two towels in a 4 person room everyday). I was disappointed with my stay, being used to the good standards of Best Western. The worst part of my stay was that they refused to give me my credit card bill (which I needed for my employer). I had to contact the Best Western headquarters, and I received the bill a month later.
Room was good. don't expect much from checkin service. Don't expect fast delivery of food orders. And don't expect reliable wifi. The bed was perfect for a good night sleep. It is a perfect location if attending anything at the trade center
I stayed here three nights for business while at a trade show next door. The experience overall....helpfulness of staff with car issue, quality of free breakfast included in my package, overall appearance property was very good. The only complaint is my room was not very clean. You could see accumulated dust in the corners, there was a red piece of candy in the corner of the room by the desk (who knows how long that had been there), and the carpet was beginning to show some wear. Besides the cleanliness issue, everything else about the stay exceeded expectations.
This is my third stay at this hotel/conference center. Staff is always polite, courteous, and friendly. It is located near many local restaurants however the in hotel restaurant is also a great option.
It's a good hotel, with spacious rooms. Furniture is a little ageing (chairs, bath tub). Rooms are clean. This time my room was quite cold, but usually I don't have problems. There is a buffet breakfast which is rich, I love their bagel and muffins. The staff is friendly and helpful. Elevators are bed, in particular the middle one is very noisy, it seems it's going to break down each time you take it.
We recently had our company's holiday function at this hotel. The entire team (Debi, Jeff, Gina & Sandra) did a great job from the upfront proposal process to the decorations and excellent service the team provided. We were all very impressed. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for company functions. The prices are very reasonable as well. Thanks...
Our company Christmas party was recently held at the Best Western Royal Plaza. Having been in the restaurant and hospitality industry previously for over 30 years I was very impressed from the moment I arrived until I left. Since the party took place two weeks after Christmas I was surprised to see all of the lovely Christmas decorations and even two trees in the room. The staff was friendly, professional, and very accommodating all the way around. Their attention to detail was excellent. From passing hors d'oeuvres, filling our water glasses throughout the evening, pouring our wine, and asking how everything was not to mention always clearing anything necessary from our tables never leaving a dirty glass, dish or utensil. They even made sure to get the heat situated in the room when the room got very cold. All of the food served was delicious, presentation top notch. I will definitely recommend The Best Western Royal Plaza to anyone looking to host an event there.
Very clean and quiet hotel. The room was spacious and well designed. The only downside was the heat in the room, it was getting too hot or too cold if the temperature was adjusted. Great service and atmosphere. Definitely would recommend.
Perfect blend of services and a comfortable room, large compound close to town but feels isolated and safe. There is a real feeling from the staff that they want you there and care about your stay and comfort. My business schedule often puts me in the area on short notice and I appreciate the fact that there has always been a room available pretty much on demand without a tremendous amount of planning and booking involved.
It was a good stay for some family time around the holidays!!! The stay was well needed for some get together and the service was good and very helpful our questions. The service was very freindly and I would refer best western to other family and freinds.
Our room was very nice & relaxing. The staff was extremely wonderful. Especially Debi Webb along with the bartender Stephanie. We checked in on Thanksgiving Day & it seemed like we had the place to ourselves & they were just fabulous. The front desk staff was wonderful too. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel at all. Wonderful Free HOT breakfast in the morning too which was nice that it was served until 11am so we'd head in after our first game each morning.
We had our annual Christmas party yesterday and as always, the families had a wonderful time. I would like to single out one particular employee. Her name is April and she could not have been more helpful.(Actually, this is not my first contact with her, she has been here for years and is always ready to help). Whether I needed help finding the control for the lighting in the room, needed extra trash bags or had a child who wanted hot chocolate, April stopped what she was working on-which was always something-the woman never stops moving! and found whatever we needed. Our room became brighter, we had the trash bags we needed and the young lady who was couldn't find any hot chocolate at the coffee station ended up happily sipping cocoa. It's not just that April is helpful, which she certainly is, it's that she is cheerful and friendly and makes you feel welcome. She is a treasure!!
Bad restaurant service and really bad front desk people. There was food/ dirty cups in elevator and a used condom in front entrance. When i complained it was as if the person did not hear me and could careless, just handed me my bill and that was it. No one working here as any pride!
Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough MA gives you a lot of value for the money. Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive and respond promptly to any requests. Buffet breakfast includes a wide variety of hot and cold food of good quality and well presented. Restaurant staff are also very friendly and attentive. Rooms are clean and in-room wi-fi is fast. Indoor pool and fitness center are great extras. Have stayed here several times over the years and have never been disappointed. Definitely recommend it for business or leisure travel.
When we visit family near Worcester, we always stay at the Best Western Royal Plaza for a number of reasons. First, it is right on Route 20, easy to reach. Second, it is clean with lovely, well-appointed rooms. Third, the hotel offers a free breakfast buffet with great food and wonderful staff. Finally, it is very affordable. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.
The public areas of the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel are quite attractive but the rooms are a little dinged. The furniture is well worn, but the rooms appear clean. The staff is friendly enough and certainly are trying toward that "10" but they could use a little supervision. When I reported two unauthorized charges to my credit card from the hotel, the response was more apathetic than filled with any sense of importance or urgency. Room service was good and the food was much better than expected. I'd stay here again if I was working at the Trade Center down the hill as I was, but with hopes that professionalism and room decor would have improved.
The service here was unmatched! We will definitely stay here any time we are in this area. The housekeeping staff was so kind and helpful. Great amenities, great staff! Arcade, Pool, workout room, they have it all!
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was amazing. Breakfast was more than sufficient. The bed and room was very comfortable. There was plenty of parking, we were there for work and found we didn't lack for anything. Definitely take advantage of the breakfast and the great staff there. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
What an excellent stay, I live there 3 weeks at a clip. The pit crew in the kitchen led by Ayaan are awesome Crew members Jeff, Patty, Debbie, Sean and Gina treat me like family which is sure a warm feeling when you are away from family Ayaan even hooked me up with a menu breakfast on my departing day and made sure I had a couple of bananas for the ride home!!! I would gladly hire any of them. The front desk staff was also awesome, Navi even helped me getting on line with my computer Everyone was top notch and professional - perfect 10, would recommend this hotel to anyone.
While the room & lobby are attractive, the false advertising in the "free breakfast" unfortunately left me with a bad taste prior to checking out. "Free breakfast" meant cold food...while the hot food is right next to it. It's a sneaky way to squeeze an additional $5.95 out of guests.
Our stay began with the leak over the bed. The carpeting looked as if it hadn't seen a vacuum in years. Rooms are in need of updating. The cleaning staff woke us up on several occasions & proceeded in the room before I had a chance to answer the door!
Excellent service, very clean knowledgeable staff, very helpful. Would recommend AAA+++ Stayed 2 nights, Room was astetically appealing, the view out the window was very nice. The blankets, bed and sheets were VERY clean, smelled great. My wife came with me for this trip, she is very picky about cleanliness (more than most) she was pleasantly surprised at how clean the room and the bed was.
This place reminds me of the Bates Hotel. Sits high atop of crumbly parking lot overlooking more parking lot. Rooms felt damp and musty. I'd never seen carpet so worn or dirty in the elevators....the elevators that worked. Very cultural friendly establishment offering overnight stays to busloads of international travelers. I will say the staff was exceptional.
Great place to stay, however if you are planning to visit within the few weeks and swimming is on the menu, please call them as the pool is under maintenance. Fitness Center needs an overhaul and quickly; limited free weights.
Arrived in between checkin times. Tried to order lunch from the sportsbar and was helped by Ayaan and her team. They were awesome and very accommodating. The dinning area was very clean and open. We were able to do our work prior to a client meeting. Would recommend the tuna melt sandwhich.
Stayed at this hotel for a business function. When booking the person did not share any information as to what was included in the stay or what the value was for staying at this hotel as there were other hotels more accommodating and cost effective in the area. Upon sharing this information with the front desk, they just constantly smiled and insincerely apologized. I will never stay in this hotel again, be sure to ask what value you get for the higher price.
On my check in the lady was disorganized and although smiling she didn't look professional. Shirt tuck out, messy work area. I had 2 rooms reserved with queen bed and I was given full beds when to management and complaint and she said that was the hotel interpretation for queen. Next day complained with other manager and he upgraded to a king size bed. The room didn't smell clean, had no microwave or mini fridge but had cockroaches. I would not recommend this hotel at all. The only great are was the breakfast area and their customer. They did more and beyond.
The staff at the wonderful breakfast is excellent. Especially Ayaan and Jeff, they go out of their way to be sure we get everything we would like. They have an excellent attitude. Overall, the hotel is an excellent place to stay. I have stayed in many hotels as I've travelled for a living for years and this place is well worth it. Thanks Ayaan, Debby and Jeff, you are the best!!!
Check in was easy and fast. The room was clean and taken well care of every day. Housekeeping left extra coffee as requested. Nice touch. The free breakfast was good and the dining room staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Excellent, Leadi from the morning breakfast was really nice. Excellent job, very good waitress, deserves a raise. I enjoyed best western, really nice place. thank you for everything Thank you, thank you thank you
I've been coming to BWRP for the last few years for NEAC shows The Staff make each stay memorable ! Debi Webb goes above & beyond to ensure that each guest is well taken care of ... Always greets you with a smileby name ! In a sea of faces this is most impressive !! Friendliness ... Hospitality .. & a mean " Mai Thai" Visit Debi at BWRTP! Where everyone's "Family"
HUGE property! Kind of secluded off RT. 20, but close to many places to eat and shop. Solid WiFi throughout the property. Clean. Convention/event facilities. No HBO or Showtime in TV, but just about everything else. Gym on site and sufficient, but equipment a bit dated. Indoor pool, but not filled. Great bar. Great restaurant. Great buffet breakfast included in stay. Acceptable hotel for a stay in Marlborough.
The hotel is very nice, although all staff are great, however the restaurant staff for breakfast is the reason we keep staying here. Some rooms are newer then others; and beds are comfortable. Great location near food and shopping.
The BW Marlbourgh is long overdue for an upgrade its extremely dated, the restaurant and breakfast is below par and having stayed there on a few occasions for business will not be returning. Room is clean but air con is so loud it keeps you awake
I have been a steady guest since I joined ACOSTA in the Fall 2003. I leave the relative peacefulness of Maine and find a piece of it here when I travel. I always recommend this hotel with a smile. I also regularly stay at a B W property in Augusta, ME.
Fairly large hotel with a clean and friendly staff. You can tell that the hotel is starting to age. A few of the fitness machines were working. Pool seemed nice. lay out of the parking lot is awkward and seemed far from the front door. ( I noticed since I was still in a boot brace after ankle surgery). Staff was friendly but seemed over whelmed by the slightly busy crowd. Rooms were comfy and clean.
my friend got married here and the staff did a wonderful job with the reception room. everyone was very friendly and the food was great. the bride and groom were so happy with everything the hotel did for them. the night was very special and all of the guests had a great time too.
corridors are dark and walls are thin. bathrooms for function rooms are dirty, locks broken and sinks not working. restaurant doesn't pay attention to how you would like your order. parking lot full of holes and puddles. bed uncomfortable same with pillows.
This is a busy hotel. From the time of arrival until departure, the staff are friendly and professional. I can't say enough about the restaurant staff. They are incredible!! I can only assume it is because of the outstanding service training they have received from the dining room manager. She is terrific.
Very helpful and cheerful staff. Everything we requested, refrigerator and microwave were waiting in our room upon arrival. Breakfast as always is an enjoyable experience. Great omelets. We recommend this hotel highly
We stayed there while in town for a trade show. The hotel is not the fanciest place, but the staff is very nice and accommodating, the rooms are clean and the property is overall well-maintained. They are pet-friendly, and the breakfast buffet (which was included in our rate), was well above average. The heat-A/C unit - which like many hotels - is somewhat hard to keep at a decent temperature, is about the only negative. We noticed that the 2 double bed rooms are much bigger than a single queen (at least the one we saw). If it wasn't for the heat issues I'd rate it higher. Still, overall it's pretty good.
The New England Traditions Decorative Painting Convention has been held at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center for the past 4 years. Every year, the Hotel and Trade Center Staff out does the previous years service. It's more like coming home to family and friends then 'just staying at a hotel'. From checking in and getting set up to the final pick up and pack up, the Hotel staff and crew are helpful, courteous, and all smiles. We look forward to coming back again next year!
Was pleased with the service and cleanliness of the rooms. We stay here every year for our NET convention and I noticed a definite improvement in the staff. Service is slow in the bar/lounge if ordering food or dessert. The location is convenient the highway and also a Urgent Care facility that I did need to make use of. The buffet they put out for our convention got a lot of praises from everyone.
Was here for a conference. Room was clean and updated. Great value for the money. Easy to get to. Right off of Highway 20. Stayed two days. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of fresh fruit. Good choice of other items as well.
Rooms clean and well kept staff friendly always say hello and ask if they can help with anything A shout out to April, Sandi Abdulla and Abdullahi who were especially helpful and worked especially hard to make my stay memorable
The front desk staff and Zachary's cafe were very accommodating for some difficult requests. End up with some very important business conversations and didn't have anything booked at the hotel but event though there was an event taking up most the options, they gave us options that met our needs. Thanks to everyone at the front desk and in Zachary's on the afternoon of Oct 15th.
Hotel and restaurant staff are very accommodating and pleasant. Love this place. Trade center was great as well. A wonderful New England Traditions Decorative Painting Convention holds classes and a trade show every year just before Columbus Day. What fun!
I have never stayed at a Best Western so when an unscheduled business trip came up and I was pressed to find a hotel - I opted for the most convenient based on my business travel schedule. Although the hotel appeared some what run down - the service and pleasant staff made all the difference. I had an amazing meal in the restaurant and was able to work and dine in a pleasant atmosphere.
The service was impeccable the room was perfect and very clean for our stay. We needed a handicap room for my husband and it was very convenient to the elevator. The food and beverage manager Debbie Webb was very attentive and accommodating I suggest that you reach out to her for any of your needs or concerns and they will be promptly addressed. We received a free buffet breakfast each morning of our three day stay. I will recommend this hotel to all who have reason to be in the area. Linda from PSL< FL
The staff at this hotel is top notch. This is the fourth year we have stayed at this hotel for a convention and its a pleasure to see the same faces year after year. I know that I will forget many people, but would like to mention specifically...April, Sandra, Sean (sp?), and Stevie, Abdulla and Abdullahi. They couldn't have been any more helpful, what hard working staff! As far as the accommodations? We have no complaints, except for a group of young hockey players and their parents. They themselves were very rude and disruptive, but the hotel staff did not stop until the group quieted down.
if you're looking for a place to stay this is the place to stop. They have an awesome group of people who go out of their way to help you. Navi, Joanne and Molly went out of their way to make our trip even better. Thanks for all your help... you guys rock !!!! The room and food were great. The Bar and Grill have awesome food and drinks too as well as a great staff, thanks to the 2 young guys bartending :) Full breakfast buffet was great. I would definately recommend this hotel. How can you go wrong with an awesome staff, good prices and great food all in one stop. With the help from these employees we were able to go to Boston during Columbus Day weekend. Thanks so much
I attended a painting convention and found the facility great. breakfast was served daily at the hours I needed. The conference rooms were easily accessable met our needs. The rooms were adequate, but the beds were full size, I would have preferred queen size.
All in all I'm satisfied with the stay here. No complaints. Nice location, many restaurants and shopping across the hotel. Great value. Only one minor inconvenience is that elevators are little slow and especially if you're on sixth floor you'll feel it.
While the hotel itself can use an upgrade in it's furnishings and appearance, I can't complain about the staff. From front desk to the food servers in the breakfast buffet. Particularly Gina B. She went out of her way to be polite, friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.
This is a huge hotel but the staff we encountered went out of their way to greet each guest in the restaurant, at the front desk, when walking through the corridors. We were pleased with the rooms, the linens were clean. The price was OK for the area. We were traveling with lots of kids and pets and the staff was still very gracious.
The rooms were very spacious and everything was very neat and clean. The bar had good food and very good wine. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was particularly good and especially the staff there. The hotel is recommended in any case.
Decent stay. Rooms were adequate. Needs updating/new carpets/walls. Very large hotel with a lot going on at once. If you're looking for quiet and quaint, this isn't for you. If you are traveling with a group or team, it's fine. Wasn't a fan of food in restaurant/bar. Met our needs. Would stay again if in area.
Wonderful service from entire staff. Everyone went the "extra mile" to make our stay great! My husband had injured his shoulders and so many hotel staff were available to help him with his trailer. Everything from checking in thru the entire stay, the staff's effort made our stay an enjoyable one when we were really in a bind. Breakfast was great. Some of the truly helpful members were Molly-front desk, Jeff-Manager, Mary-house keeping, Sean, Jeff, Debbie-breakfast servers; and many more! Even the $10.00 Hamburger was wonderful at the All Star pub. Better than many others in fancier restaurants. It was one of the best we've ever had.
Very expensive hotel for the quality. I had no other choice than to come to this hotel. I was expecting a best western 'standard' hotel, which was not the case. Very disappointing. Don't go there, unless obliged....
Erick McCallay was a huge help when I lost my phone. He went out of the way to help me out. Seriously huge shout out to him. The hotel is nice. Very convenient to Marlborough. Clean beds, clean sheets. I'd stay here again.
We have stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament every year over Labor Day weekend. I have always had a pleasant experience there. Their front desk is extremely accommodating, even reserved me the same room as last year (at my request). We needed a late check-out and they said no problem. The dining staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable and get whatever you need. Breakfast is hot, lots of choices, and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.
Nice folks who work here. This place is struggling. Cracked bathroom counter. Tired rooms but the real kicker is the formed metal ceiling which features unsealed edges so you can hear everything (and I mean EVERYTHING, that goes on next door to you! When I turned off our lights I could see the next door rooms lights on my ceiling! Nice!
Cleaning staff ignores clogged tub drains. I hate standing in one foot of icky water while you shower. Think about it, you have no idea what your standing in, and how many previous guests waste your are standing in. This tells me that the cleaning staff ignores the problem and does not inform the maintenance staff to fix clogged drain.
I had a very nice one night stay at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel. I was attending a professional conference and found the layout and amenities to be excellent. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. I would stay here again
