"Swimmers beware, especially children after sports games"

IT would take seriously just one thing, get your pool to a proper temperature. Ive never been to a pool that was this hot. I had to remove my kids because they might have a heat stroke in there. usually a pool is somewhere you go to cool off in the heat and enjoy yourself. Get some exhaust and maybe air conditioning. ill be back next tourney to see if you even make the slightest change. Some other guest said it was the same last time they came. Maybe the manager should take care of this issue before doing further changes to his rooms. It would be nicer to have a pool to sit in than a renovated lobby, for real. i didnt get any enjoyment sitting in the lobby on my phone after my sons games. for 140 dollars and amenities that could cause harm to me and my family, not worth. fix fix fix.... if you need a pool watch the heck out you might have a heat stroke in the summer.

If your here for work and need a super secure line on the net, AVOID. All else is great. pool breakfast rooms employees. I'm hope they fix the internet so people who work for government are able to do so without worries. had to go onsite to avoid security issues to be safe.

Overall 9 out of 10, the rooms were clean & comfortable, the staff was friendly & helpful, common areas were clean & nice. The location is great, right next to food places, Walmart, & gas stations so you dont have to travel far to eat or grab last minute items.

We were the for continuing education. The hotel was extremely easy to find, with very nice curb appeal. The welcoming team checked us in promptly. Basically everything was a 10 except the there was a little bit of a musty smell, which a few air freshners would take care of. Thank you very much for your hospitality

"Untrustworthy Front Desk Agent During Walk-up Room Booking"

Traveled on red-eye from LAX to Texas when grandmother was admitted to hospital in area. Needed immediate hotel room around 7:30am (without reservation) to check in for sleep. Calmly explained emergency situation to very young front desk agent. He clicked on his computer and provided a certain room at a certain rate. Said he would need to charge me extra for early check-in. Fine, I asked what it was. He then proceeded to call his manager to talk to her in another language that I was not fluent in. During the 10 minutes or so his conversation was taking place, he was clicking on his computer and kept providing me with a different price point and a different room (always higher price and higher room category). I was uneasy, but said okay, and then there would be more conversation in the different language with his manager followed by him saying, "actually, we have such and such room at this price." I was going on 30-something hours without sleep and provided my credit card. I walked up to the room finally assigned and the door was very flimsy upon walking in. Had an immediate unpleasant scent in the room and I had overwhelming sense of unease. I walked right back down to front desk and calmly said I needed to get to hospital, had to leave and would not be staying. Front desk agent was perplexed and said I would need to wait to talk to his manager who was not reachable by phone - the same one he had just gotten off the phone with. He said he would still have to charge me $163.17 since I checked in (literally 4 minutes ago). I said "that's not right, but you do what you have to do and I'll take it up with Discover." I explained the case to Discover, disputed the charge, but the charge was just now reinstated by the hotel. The whole process smacked of dishonesty, bait and switch, etc. etc. The hotel seemed very nice from the outside as far as quality, but inside room was a definite sense of inadequate cleaning, poor sound control from highway and other rooms, and after the check-in situation, a deep feeling of concern of lack of privacy, security, of untrustworthiness, etc. Were my reactions impacted by overtiredness? Possibly - but it was an instinct I couldn't ignore that wasn't worth any amount of money. I then went down the street to a Hampton Inn where despite being overbooked, they worked very hard to accommodate me and I ended up staying for 4 nights.

"Great location"

This hotel was in a safe neighborhood, located centrally between Fort Worth and Dallas. There was a Walmart nearby along with plenty of restaurants, gas stations and easy highway access. The breakfast was good and varied daily. We did need to ask for items to be replenished a few times, they were quick to comply. The beds were okay. The pull out couch was not comfortable and was squeaky. Upon arrival, we did need to wait a few minutes for them to finish getting our room ready, even though we checked in well after 5. Housekeeping seemed to take some time to complete their tasks, given there were multiply evening we would see the cleaning carts in the hallway and hear vacuums as we were preparing for dinner. On our last night housekeeping s end to be running behind because our room was not as prepared as it had been the previous nights.

We have stayed here several times. Very clean and updated. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Employees are very nice. Great breakfast. Close to restaurants and shopping. There is a Walmart within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice place. No complaints except for not having shower pressure when trying to take a shower. Otherwise a great stay. Will stay again but make sure that the shower works first. Would recommend to others.

This hotel was clean and quiet. The room was clean and every appliance worked well the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again. The pool and spa area were well maintained and clean.

For this level of hotel this is a good place to stay. For me it is a convenient location to some of my customers. The price is on the lower end of comparable hotels in the area. The breakfast is pretty good too.

We complained 3 times about noise but I guess they couldn't catch the people slamming doors and running through the halls all night long. I had an issue with the smell in the room and even though my husband smelled it too, it bothered me more than it bothered him. Both my husband and I did not sleep well at his hotel. We will not stay again.

"Surprisingly not bad!!"

Nice room. Easy access to the room. Comfy beds. Great breakfast area--they were in the process of a remodel and were finished 3 nights later! And we loved the Texas shaped waffle! We stayed 2 nights, in the same room, but 3 nights apart coming and going to Canton for my daughter's wedding. .

"Clean & Convenient"

This location is in a nice area with convenient access to the hwy. Very clean hotel with friendly staff. They were doing some remodeling while I was there, but I wasn't inconvenienced at all. The room was large and clean with a very comfortable bed. Several of my family members have stayed here before with the same sentiments. I would stay again the next time I need to be in the Mansfield/Arlington area.

"Price Gouging Management"

This hotel is not new. I looks like it has been recently redone. There is nothing wrong with the facility in reference to looks or cleanliness. But the price is over the top. I was literally shocked. We stay in BW in National City CA that is far more desirable than this one. In peak season, the room rate is still under this hotel. Just down the road, a room cost half the price. Something needs to be done about room rates.

Perfect spot for girlfriends getaway. Hotel is nice, clean and very reasonably priced. Good customer service too! Room was big and bed was comfy. Nice areas in the lobby for sitting, drinking coffee and catching up. Also felt very safe.

This location worked out good for us. I was very satisfied with the staff. The rooms where large. Indoor pool was nice. Hotel is being re- modeled. However, this was not a problem. Will be even nicer once finished.

The bedding is awful. It feels like you're at a Motel 6 or worse. One sheet with an itchy brown blanket. There's nothing nice, cozy or anything to make the bed feel like home. The air conditioner is loud. It cut in and off over and over no matter what temp it was set too. There wasn't an option to have just a fan on. You will want the loud a/c to run constantly to cover up the loud traffic as you try to sleep.

Dollar for dollar this is the best value in the area. Clean rooms that are very comfortable, a very good breakfast, a very friendly staff and located next to McDonald's and Walmart. I plan to visit again.

"Escaping hurricane harvey"

My fam came to escape Hurricane Harvey. We came stressed, and scared, and with lots of dirty laundy. The minute we walked in, it was a construction zone. The floor is ripped up, halfway put in and there's sheet rock dust everywhere. The hotel is filthy with construction scraps all over the place. I needed to wash loads of laundry abd the facilities were under consyruction and not working. Ice machines not working...in my opinion, it should not be open if it's being rennovated. 1. All amenities are not available to customers 2. It's a danger zone. 3. Wreaks of paint This is ridiculous, for paying over $100. Checking out after 1 night. MAJOR BS

I was in Mansfield for a multi-week project and bounced around several properties. Overall, I found this one to be the best and kept coming back! The staff (Shane, Tina, Dipty, Ken, etc.) were all very polite and considerate and great to deal with. The breakfast was more than enough to keep a dieter in-check, but also had scrumptious options for those weak moments (oops.) The rooms were clean, stocked, and the beds were very comfy. Even though I was on business, I could see bringing my whole family here and they'd have a great time in the pool which appeared to be lots of fun. Location is also great with easy access to US287; close to the lake and lots of retail/dining nearby.

We stayed here for an extended stay, and found the hotel and the room very good. Hardwired internet is a plus if you need to do online work. Breakfast had some variety during the week, which is great if you stay more than a couple of days. Coffee and tea were available 24/7 in the lobby, and the pool was kept at a good temperature. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. This was better than other Best Western Plus hotels we have stayed at - we wish the others had been this nice.

First of all, I dint expect I can get this type of hotel in Texas, but it was really a good experience. I have a lot of professional work to do in my room and to be honest, I dint have any noise issues, it was a quiet and peaceful stay.

I loved the cleanliness of the corridors they had, the rooms were very spacious and OMG the breakfast had so many options including sausage, sausage gravy and eggs. Me and my friends enjoyed using the indoor pool, this hotel is a complete package.

Breakfast timing is 06:30 to 09:30 yet I was able to have it before 6 am. Better than best.!! :) The front desk agent at the time of check in seemed too smart as we just took less than 2 minutes to check in.

"Good but not great"

The room was alright the staff wasn't to great and breakfast was sub par. The hotel has a weird smell that kinda reminded me of a retirement home. At arrival the front desk was not in clear view of the desk so we had to ring a bell. Once we received our keys we went up to our room where it was very humid and had a sticky feeling. This was the first Best Western that didn't have a white comforter. Instead we got linens that had the scratchy texture. During breakfast the coffee dispenser was not working and the staff didn't know how to solve the issue. I usually have high standards for Best Westerns but this one let me down. I'm planning another trip to another state and hope this next Best Western doesn't let me down.

"Ok but not great"

Room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. Housekeeping sprayed something that helped. Shower didn't work very well and the lever to turn on the shower was almost impossible to raise/lower. Pool was not very clean.

"Storms, elevators and power"

We found friendly staff, lovely rooms, and much -needed laundry facilities. There was shopping and some dining places near enough to walk. We found parking near the entrance and the elevator was just inside. Breakfast was available, and they also offered some grab and go prepackaged bags which I thought was a nice touch. There had been rain and thunderstorms the last several days. My surprise was finding a sign posted on the elevator door recommending the use of stairs in case of power failure. My brother has had a stroke, and that was not an option for him to get to the third floor. We had no power outages while we were there, but I thought it was interesting that the note also stated "no refunds or discounts due to outages." So if I checked in, power went out, I couldn't take a hot shower or do any of the other things power allows me to do, I would not receive a refund? I didn't see the sign until after check-in, maybe that should be disclosed before signing my name? No problems, we had a lovely stay, just interesting. Maybe things are different in Texas...

"Good Location South of Ft. Worth and Dallas"

We were visiting relatives in Eastern Mansfield and this hotel is very convenient. It is a quick on/off from a major highway and is on a corner with restaurants and a gas stations. Downtown Historic Mansfield and nice parks are an easy town drive a couple of miles away. Broad street provides a relatively fast access( five minutes) to hwy 360. We used a rural route West to access hwy 35W. The hotel itself is modern and clean with excellent staff. The hot breakfast was pretty good. The pool walls could be cleaned a bit. Next time we come to this area we will stay here again as the weekday price is fair. We didn't stay on Saturday as the weekend price is inordinately high.

"Cops for Breakfast"

This was surprisingly the best rated of the few hotels in the Mansfield area, for the price. It looks nice from the outside. The front desk attendant was very nice, but it took a while to find a room for us because we asked if there was something on the top floor on the side away from the highway. She set us up in one room, then looked at the map and realized it was on the highway side, so looked for one on the other side, asked housekeeping or someone if one was done yet, but someone else had already reserved that one. So we got the highway side one. I posted a picture of the hotel room map. There are different odd smells in each area of the hotel, we found. Like disinfectant with whatever they were trying to remediate, maybe. It is a non-smoking hotel, but apparently wasn't always. The room smelled like a 1970's motel room, even though it was reasonably updated. We opened the window to see if it would improve, but it didn't. I don't know if that qualifies as second-hand smoke, but those with high sensitivity to that type of thing should find somewhere else to stay that was never a smoking hotel, if possible. The room was otherwise clean. The highway noise is very loud on the side with the odd-numbered rooms, which faces north east. Choose an even-numbered room if you can. They have window air conditioning units and the fan is very loud and does cover up a lot of the road noise, except for the loudest trucks and motorcycles. The parking lot light right outside our window was bright, and the black-out curtains didn't prevent it from shining through the outer edges on the sides. This, combined with the smell of old cigarettes, made it difficult to sleep very well. When we left in the morning for breakfast, 2 police vehicles were parked near the entrance, and were still there when we returned from breakfast. We don't know what happened that required them to be there. We would not recommend this hotel or stay there again.

We reserved 2 rooms (both kings). One room was good (although pretty humid in room). The other room however had bugs in one of the corner ceiling and in the bed and on couches. They looked a little like flying ants maybe? They did get us a new room however we didn't sleep well thinking there may be more bugs.

In general, this is a decent hotel and good value for the money. But, our bed was VERY firm, almost uncomfortable, the sofa back was filthy, possibly from hair grease or sweat. Not sure which, and I didn't sit on it! The hot tub did not work properly, 1/2 of the jets were inoperable and the other 1/2 were so powerful you couldn't sit in front of them. Definitely needs maintenance. Breakfast on Sunday was great, food was good and service was excellent. Monday was the opposite. We arrived at 8:45 am (they stop serving at 9:30). There was no food other than very runny/watery gravy and a few pieces of sausage. No attendant in sight. We were able to make waffles, but when we finally found an employee to inquire about the rest of the breakfast, we were told there would be no more food brought out, period! She was semi-rude about it as well. Not looking for the Ritz or anything, but I do like a clean room and if you offer up breakfast, you really need to make sure food is available all the way up to closing time!

Hotel great but rude night staff. Turned out the lights while kids were in the pool in order to lose it for the night. Did not have access to more pillows which I found absurd and besides that, showed no accountability or apologies for it; acted like he didn't care.

Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel was convenient to our event. Apparently, there was a huge softball tournament going on at the same time as our regional basketball tournament, and lodging was limited. I was not disappointed with the hotel or service that we ended up with. Both desk clerks were very friendly, courteous, helpful, and all smiles!

Stayed here for a softball tournament at Big League Dreams. Friday - Sunday Its nothing really special. So I am not sure of the PLUS part of Best Western, also it is my first time at a Best Western. The beds were soft and could feel the springs. The lobby is pretty empty no place to really hang out with other guests. I assume if there is a pretty big tournament going on this place could get noisy. We heard some people in the halls, laughing and doors closing. The rooms did have a lot of space for several suitcases and bags without being cramped. The bathroom had a lot of space as well. The hot breakfast consisted of biscuits, gravy, sausage patties, and eggs. Seems like they warmed it up in a microwave and set it out, no warmers. Some fruits and breads were offered as well, a couple juices, the orange juice was watered down. The frontage road is one way, so I drove through the Wal-Mart parking lot to get to the other side of the highway for more restaurants, also access to the highway northbound to go to other restaurants and the theater. Once you get how to access to go north and south on the highway, going places is easy, but there is also a several restaurants within walking distance. Overall wasn't great, but wasn't a bad experience, just average, the location made it better for us. Seems like the chain hotels in the area would be about the same as this Best Western. But if the prices are similar for your budget there is a Fairfield Inn not too far, I am familiar with the Fairfield chain and would give them a shot.

Good stopover, everything you need from a Best Western. Wi-Fi was good, lifts parking and the breakfast. Asked for a quiet room as the last few have been noisy. We got a room facing the freeway!. Slept fine though as it wasn't that noisy.

Great hot breakfast with large variety of sweet rolls, fresh hot eggs & a variety of breakfast meat that changes daily. The breakfast area is large & accommodates any number of guests without being crowded. The large comfortable room has a good-sized bathroom which us not cramped. The king bed was comfortable however the tiny pillows were terrible. The in-room refrigerator did not work & we saw them wheeling another one out of another room that must have been on the fritz too. Excellent location to many places: dining, Walmart, nail salons, gas & shopping. Very accommodating staff.

Stayed one night, room is typical for this quality hotel. Breakfast "hot" items were lukewarm. We mentioned this to the worker and she went off on us saying no one has EVER complained about the food temperature and no one has EVER gotten sick from the food. So be warned, I'd stick with the make it yourself waffles or cold items.

We needed a group of rooms for two nights for a wedding at Aristide in Mansfield and this was the perfect location with easy access. Very clean, very quiet (top floor, back of hotel), very friendly staff, great hot breakfast buffet (eggs, sausage, Texas shaped waffles, biscuits, gravy etc). We got the suites so we'd have room to visit and so the sink and mirror would not be closed into the bathroom, since we had multiple people sharing rooms. They had free parking, free in room wi-fi that actually worked, free breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

This hotel needs a serious renovation and thorough cleaning. Upon entry into the hotel there was a very strong and unpleasant odor. The building and room was dark and dank and the furniture was torn and dirty. Because the odor in the room was so unpleasant, I purchased scented candles to abate the odor. A dirty dry washcloth was left in the bathroom. To make matters worse, management left a written message on the elevator after a thunderstorm indicating that using the elevator is at a person's own risk and refunds would not be granted for power failures. This gesture was cavalier, unprofessional and lacked in concern for the guests. It seemed as if the hotel management was more concerned with legal protection and its monies. Given the fact that there are no full service hotels in the area, the Best Western could do better as being a viable alternative. I never felt comfortable sleeping at this hotel. Stay at your own risk.

I have styed at other competitor hotels for a much lower rate and much better amenities for 20% - 30% less. The hotel seemed under manned and chaotic. Only one person behind the desk, chatting on the phone, describing room rates, while a line of people are waiting to check out and manning the breakfast area. The evening clerk was never around. The walls are dirty and marked up. I noticed dried Mud in the elevator when I checked in...still there the next day. No coffee in the lobby area. As a Best Western Rewards member, I expect a copy of my receipt under my door. I asked the clerk why they didn't provide my express check out and he said I have to ask for this service at this hotel. Pathetic.

Stayed here a Thursday and Friday night. Check in was quick and easy, check in person very friendly. They had 3 luggage carts available which we utilized one of them. Stayed on the 3rd floor on the backside of the hotel. The king suite was nicely appointed and the bed was comfortable. Walmart and Popeyes within walking distance. The only negative I have to say is the wireless internet was slow

Picked this Hotel based on the TripAdvisor ratings and the status as the number two Hotel in Mansfield. The Hotel is located conveniently on the southside of US Hwy 287 just past N Walnut Creek Drive on the Frontage Road with easy access to and from the freeway. Surprisingly, the Hotel turned out completely different from what we expected. The service was poor - check-in clerk unfriendly, uninterested and not helpful. The one luggage cart the Hotel has was no-where to be found and no help was offered. Luggage cart still missing in action @ 8 am the next morning. Cleanliness poor - Room carpet not vacuumed, thick dust between the pieces of furniture, carpet in the hallway very dirty with visible debris all over it, elevator floor unswept with lots of visible dirt and debris, pool cloudy and towels strung all over in the evening, rechecked at 8:30 in then morning and still the same. Sleep quality poor - very noisy from the freeway with little sound proofing. The Hotel is very close to the freeway, with just a small parking lot between the frontage road and the Hotel. Poor mattress comfort. Breakfast poor - choices ok, food quality, presentation poor, "hot food" cold. eggs rubbery, etc. food spilled by patrons around the serving area not cleaned up. No attendant visible while we were in the breakfast area, therefore no cleaning of the food area, spillage or the tables and no refreshing of the food. Fruit consisted of one brown banana, two small shriveled up oranges and a number of small and old looking apples. WiFi spotty, dropping in and out. Cost was $129 per night + taxes AARP rate, for a total of $146.89. Not a good value for what is offered. I really don't know how they get so many 5 star ratings. Analyzing it 46% were written by members with just one review. Must have been a number of infrequent travelers that were enamored with this property. The Hotel is located next to a Walmart, Popeyes Fried Chicken and a ChickFilet.

Room was spacious but the wifi was so bad!!! Could not even check my emails without a minute of lagging. The channels didn't work and even when I complained they did nothing to fix the problem. I would not ever stay here again!!! It was an overpriced mistake I won't make again!!! $112 of disappointment.

We had the best time at BW, the rooms were clean and very spacious, pool and Jacuzzi very clean and very relaxing no worries... Breakfast was delicious!! Staff was helpful on anything that we asked. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, when I want a stay in town vacation with kids BW is the place to go. The kids enjoyed the pool since it's indoors anytime any weather we were in there having fun.

The staff was accommodating. The first room #104 appeared clean and comfortable. However the wasp taking up residence in the curtain thought so too. Trying to chase him down and kill him led us (the wasp and I) under the sofa couch. This is where the two condoms were found. Needlessly to say at this point I asked for a room change, to room #219.

Came to TX to help my daughter find a wedding dress. Booked 4 night stay. The day I arrived my mother passed. I needed to leave 1 day sooner in order to attend her funeral. They would not give me a refund. Since my daughter moved to TX I travel there frequently. 1st & last time I will stay at this hotel. Hotel is nice but if you choose to book here do not stay on highway side of building. Felt like trucks were driving through my room. Wouldn't have written this if management had given me a refund due to the very sad and unexpected circumstances. Shows no compassion. $$$$ Greedy.

A newer hotel and the staff was very friendly. My king bed was very comfy!! Located ina prime part of MAnsfield, easy to get anywhere quick. Breakfast was lacking a few items I think. Im a rewards member at about every chain. I was frustrated that I did not get reward points since I booked through Priceline. 5 nights.. Still a good hotel and would recommend to others.

This Best Western Plus Inn offers a comfortable stay in a good location. The hotel staff were courteous, especially staff in the breakfast buffet room who was very helpful and courteous. Room 119, was roomy and the beds were comfortable. However for some unknown reason, we were given a room with a wheelchair accessible bathroom. It did not have a shower curtain nor shower door, had low shower water pressure, and did not have a place for your soap or shampoo in the shower. Despite this, overall this Inn is recommended.

Used hotel to prepare for my only daughter's wedding. Room was very spacious and bed was roomy and comfy. Although the AC unit did not get as cold as we wanted it to, but at least we weren't too hot. The shower mechanics was weird as this was a new type of system which took 3 people to figure out how to use. After finally initiating the shower option, everything worked out.

"Weekend with family"

We booked this hotel after reading several trip advisor reviews. I was pleased when we checked in that my new reward member number was on file and my request for a top floor room had been honored. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and fitness room each morning. The buffet offered a good variety of tasty food options that we either ate there or took back to our room for later. Our room was very spacious and in very good condition. The hot tub was great at the end of a busy day.

I had a slab leak and had to stay in a hotel for a few nights while the work was being done. The staff was very helpful, the hotel was nice and clean, the room was clean and comfortable. We had the room closest to the lobby, and it was quiet for being in a main traffic area, that was nice. We enjoyed the free breakfast, nice variety of foods available, not just pastries. At the end of the 2 days, my wife commented that it was like a little getaway right in our own backyard.

"Great hotel"

We spent one night here and it was great. The staff is friendly. The room was very spacious. Our room was up front near the highway and we hardly heard any traffic noise. The breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel. Overall I would give them a 4.5 out of 5!!!

"Wonderful hotel and staff."

I've stayed at this hotel before. Its clean hotel with comfortable beds. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and a Wal-Mart right behind the hotel. The breakfast was dissappointing put that's my only negative about this hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel 7 or 8 times in the past 4 years. We have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We will most likely make this our choice when we are in the area. The pool is nice year round . The breakfasts are good and kept well stocked and clean.

The hotel was second to none. It was modern and clean. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. There was always fresh coffee. The front desk was always manned. The price was very fair.

We went there for a wedding and never been to Mansfiled I was not sure where the hotel was located to the wedding, but I knew Mansfiled was not that big, so I figured I would be good. When we arrived we were in a really nice part of the town. We were surrounded by stores and restaurants. Walmart was walking distance and we were near a chik fil a and in and out burger and a lot of other stores and restaurants and we were 5 minutes away from wedding. It was a great location. The hotel was nice. It had a king size bed and a pull out sofa in the room we were in. The only thing I was a little upset about was, we got back from the wedding rally late and were tired. As we are getting ready for bed, my son pulls out the sofa andsays mom, where are the sheets, we could not find them. So I called the front desk and you actually had to go get them. The did not store then in room. So I had to get redressed to go downstairs to get the sheets. Otherwise, it was ok. The breakfast was good also.

My stay at Best Western Plus was nice the beds were big, comfortable and room was roomy the continental breakfast was great waffles,eggs,sausage and etc.....After being at the hotel for 30 minutes there was a knock on the door and it was my sister from Brooklyn, NY she surprised us and was staying in the room across from us we were in Mansfield for a family reunion
