Great price - excellent customer service and friendliness - great location - wonderful indoor pool & hot tub - good breakfast - 24 hour coffee - we stay here at least 3 times a year when we visit Louisville and family. I travel with kids ages 5 - 25 and they all love it also. I just can't say enough good things about this hotel.
There was nothing horrible, just the feeling that the whole was based on 'what's the least we have to do for our guests?'. There was nothing extra, a small elevator barely fitting ten people in a hotel with hundreds, a busted shower, no anything really. Beds. chairs, lights, internet - but nothing beyond the bare bones minimum. For the price we paid, we expected mints on the pillows, rather than being told there were no extra pillows, or if we wanted something from the front desk we had to get it ourselves (even if the staff was friendly, if not a bit apologetic about it). Again, for the price, it was far too little and far too minimalist.
I spent one night at the Best Western Premier in Louisville on my way from Nashville to Niagara-on-The-Lake, Canada. I had an excellent experience and cannot think of one thing that was not to my satisfaction The staff were wonderful and one of the front desk staff Kelsey Subala went out of her way to assist me in having some business matters taken care of before I departed in the morning. Kelsey is an exemplary example of the type of employee every hotel and resort would dream of having on staff Thank you all and the next time I am in Louisville I shall see you again.
My family of 6 stayed in the suite to accommodate all of us. Very clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean breakfast area, good value for the price. Nice pool area. My boys said the pull out couch was fine to sleep on. Our queen beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.
I thought maybe the room would be nicer because of the location, but no such luck. Room was $112 total and included breakfast and free parking. But the room was a bit depressing. Popcorn ceiling and walls and aged brown curtains. Lumpy pillows. While it wasn't terrible, I wish I'd paid a little more for something nicer.
Stayed here for Bourbon and Beyond. Great location to everything that you could need. The place was super clean and comfy. The guy at the front desk was awesome!! I wish I remembered his name. Thank you for your kindness!!!
Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, room was in good order and comfortable, internet and breadfest were satisfactor. Nothing exceptional about hotel but had everything I needed and was a good value. I have no complaits and will stay here again when in town.
Needed 3 beds for our large family and they had one available for a decent price! The pull out couch was older so not that comfortable as other BW we stated with recently. But the room was clean and had lots of space!
Paid $384.22 for a large suite (two rooms) for two nights. There was only air conditioning in one of the rooms, and it didn't flow to the other room. When I asked for a fan to help circulate the air, I was told they didn't have any, yet the clerk was sitting about 6 inches from a fan! The refrig. was so iced up it didn't work (hadn't been cleaned in a year!) I called early in the morning to give them a chance to defrost or exchange while we were out for the day - they said they would make a work order. When we returned - nothing had been done. I called again, and finally they came and exchanged it - then we had to wait for 3 hours for it to cool down, so my food sat in a cooler from 7 in the morning until 8 in the evening - what was I paying for!!! Sofa bed was the most uncomfortable I had ever slept on. My head dipped down lower than my feet.
Stayed for 7 nights 8/26/19--9/3/19, The room was always cleaned and stocked very well each day. The front desk staff were very accommodating in moving us from one room to another on the week-end when we had changed our booking to a suite. The breakfast was very good and kept stocked very well no matter what time you came down to partake in it. When we told them the override lock was broken in our room, they promptly fixed it the next morning. Will stay here again. I do feel as a rewards member, we should receive the rewards goody bag for each day of our stay. I was told that this hotel does not give them out for each night stay, only on the initial night and that decision is made by each Best Western Hotel themselves.
This facility offered the needed rest i needed after an unusually long flight getting there. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the unit i stayed in was exceptional. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Fayetteville
This is a great hotel very close to the airport. Clean & comfortable. Easy in & out. Quick check in & out. Very friendly host at front desk. In the sink area the outlet was actually on the wrong side. As we were not able to stay for breakfast, darn.
Unfortunately our choices were not very good because we were in town for a medical emergency. When we arrived at room after a long day at Baptist east the hotel was full of teens which didn't lend for a relaxing evening. I proceeded to pull down my bedding and sheets were either dirty or badly stained. I called the front desk and was told housekeeping was gone and I would have to go down and pick up clean sheets and change the bedding myself. The bathroom sink had a bad leak and there was clearly mold in the bathroom. The wall was so saturated that you could make an indentation in drywall with your finger. To make a bad nights sleep worst I woke to a bug in my bed. Walls are also so thin you could hear everything in walls and ceiling. I called the hotel and expressed what I had experienced with no apologies or offer for discount. I hope no one has to experience this.
My family and I stayed for the weekend here and were extremely satisfied. I can't say enough about how awesome all the staff was. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and check in and check out were really quick and hassle free. Pool was nice and the kids really enjoyed it. This location was not crowded or busy at all. Everything was clean and comfortable. Really good experience and the price was reasonable as well. My daughter actually said as we were leaving, “Mom, we need to leave a review about how nice they were here.”
This is the best hotel I have found in Louisvillie when I come there it is a great value and a great experience.The price was very reasonable and very clean with great people that works there this is where I stay everytime I go to Louisville.
This hotel is very nice, the rooms are large, the internet service is good. The hot tub always had people in it and the water looked dirty. There was people in it with clothes on? The pool seemed okay. Other than this everything was really nice.
We stopped here for the night on a business trip. We had the kids with us, so got a 2-room suite. There was only one air conditioner for both rooms, so one room was much too warm to sleep in. The decor was nice, cleanliness was great. Just the temp made it uncomfortable for the heat of the summer.
It was okay. 4th floor didnt have working heating/cooling units in the hall so it was muggy. Hotel kinda had a smell to it but it wasnt horrible. Room service never replaced towels so I had to go down to the lobby every day to get more. The pool hours are a tad insane. 9a-9p not to mention they have signs saying o ly 5 people are allowed in at one time. The shower near the pool to rinse off gets extremely hot very fast. Staff was super friendly though. It was a little frustrating that at least 6 times a day the internet would cut out.
When planning travel, hotel reservations are hit or miss - you either get a good place, or you get an awful place. This was a good place, no doubt. The only two complaints I can think of are: 1. there was no one at the desk when I tried to check in (he was closing the pool, but no sign was left at the desk letting anyone know that) and 2. the next morning they ran out of breakfast items before their allotted time. For the price we paid, we expected to have a full breakfast. Other than those two things, we found everything to be in order. Nice place, clean, and since we were travelling with pets, we were put in the pet wing, which was every bit as clean as the rest of the hotel. The negative reviews on Yelp are skewing their overall rating - in my opinion, this is unwarranted. Never saw a bug, was not disturbed by noise in the hallway, the room was about 25% larger than average, there were no untoward smells detected anywhere, and best perk: they were not on the highway, so the riff raff and highway noise was not an issue. If we ever come back through the Louisville area, we will stay here, as it's a tried-and-tested location now for us. Good luck to you all! We enjoyed our stay and thank you for a nice experience.
Carpet was filthy. Socks were black after walking on them for only 15 minutes. Bathtub still had hairs in it. Didn't really feel clean. The exterior and lobby looked fine. Breakfast was your basic continental. I've stayed at nicer hotels for cheaper. Not worth the price I paid. Not horrible, but wouldn't go back.
Trying hard for 2 stars and lower Staff is usually not helpful and order guest around as if you are an employee not their guest Sometimes overpriced for the always a lot of workers staying during the week
Great Staff. Hotel was clean. Our room was right next to elevator so was rather noisy in the living area, but the bedroom was quiet. Breakfast was typical BW breakfast sausage, eggs, pancake machine. Only complaint I really had was water pressure in bathroom was very low. Not sure if this is City or BW problem
BW was pretty nice to stay at. If you are looking for a good hot tub then I don't recommend. The pool was nice; the hot tub wasn't very powerful. One could get same jet action by dumping a bottle of alka-seltzer's in the water.
I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt as if I was staying at an overpriced Motel 6 and not a Best Western. The décor needs to be updated badly. The TV stand and other items in the room show significant wear. It looks like the towels have been there since the hotel opened and the same goes for the sheets on the bed. The foot cover at the end of the bed had stains on it and the shower curtain looks like it was in the room when painting was done and no one ever tried to clean it or replace it afterwards. The corners in the bathroom had build up of dirt and grime that seems like it would be easy to clean, but no one has. In other areas in the room there was money on the floor that was easily seen and in an area that was easily accessible to clean, but it again no one took the time to clean it. The hinges on the bathroom door were rusty like the door had been sitting outside for some time. I had something crawl on me during the first night there. Needless to say we left early and went to the Crowne Plaza.
Like: Room is very spacious and clean. Better quality on soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Breakfast is awesome. This location has a pancake maker which draw some attention from both kids and adults; less messy than Waffle maker I have seen. Dislike: The vend fan and light should be separated switch. It was too loud when the bathroom was used at night.
Nice clean rooms. My granddaughter enjoyed the pool. Great staff. Breakfast area kept clean and neat. Food replenished often. Very helpful staff at breakfast.Easy access to downtown and other sites. Didn't get a chance to use exercise room but had a nice set up.
I stayed here for a little over 30 days. Started my stay off great. People were very courteous and professional to myself and my family during our stay. Then I met the "manager". He really needs to go to finishing school. He decided that my rate was "to low and I'm not paying enough" so he freaking doubled it!!!Really? You would think that with spending thousands of dollars over the last month, you would see more professionalism. Waiting on corporate to decide how they are gonna make it right. I stay approximately 270 nights a year in a hotel traveling for work. If they dont make this right, I'll go back to the Holiday Inn chain or to Choice Hotels
I had a bad of medication come up missing from our room after cleaning. It contained prescription medication and cold medication for my children. I reported it immediately upon returning to our room and kept getting the run around. We didn't let them clean our room until the third day and that was only because we were gone when then came in. They will do nothing about this and say they are not liable for lost or stolen items. Apparently, I need to report this to the local police department as a theft. If they thought they were getting some good prescription medication, they were sadly mistaken when it was medication for my thyroid and diabetes.
A friend and I traveled to KY to tour the Bourbon Trail. He wanted a cheaper hotel, and this one was just about 10 minutes from downtown. I had an upgraded "suite" room. I've stayed in nicer rooms, but this one was fine. However, I did decide that when booking rooms from now on, I'll ask how big the TV is in the room (these 32 inchers just don't cut it anymore), and I'll ask about the layout of the bathroom. I often travel by myself, and having to close the bathroom door to use the john or take a shower means the bathroom is too small. (I don't like closing the door, because it feels claustrophobic, and the bathroom fans don't adequately keep up with the shower steam.) All in all- it was a decent hotel, fair price, and I encountered no real issues during my 7 night stay there.
Stayed here for 2 nights while in town. The entire place needs a decent cleaning! Our suite's door needed to be forced to be properly closed, the bathroom light sounded like a Frankenstein lab, the toilet seat was lose and we felt that we would fall off when using it, the bathroom door was stuck, so to open the door it made a loud noise each time, there were questionable stains on the sofa bed (gross), the bathroom faucet was a joke (it was so loose that we could lift it up about 5 inches (maybe a toddler installed it?), the hotel was supposed to be non smoking - however, in the hallways we could smell cigarette smoke, so either other guests were smoking or the staff, the hallway carpets were dirty, the lobby smelled like air freshener was sprayed to disguise something else? Beds were okay, but we felt as if we were sagging into the middle. Go elsewhere!!
There is one person who is my favorite at this hotel. His personality is the best and he is always willing to help. Unfortunately I stink at names so I don't remember it. When he is there all is right.
Eric, at the front desk showed the utmost kindness and genuine warmth when welcoming my daughter to the Best Western. He genuinely took interest in making sure her first experience in visiting Louisville and attending the Derby would be wonderful starting with making her and her friend feel very much at home. I cannot thank him enough.
I checked in for an overnight and asked time of breakfast & when the pool would be open. Breakfast was to last 7-10. Pool was to open at 9. I typically do not care about either but I had brought my 3yr old niece who was dying to play in the pool. At 9:15 all food including pastries, etc were gone in breakfast area. Pool was locked and did not open until 10:30. The heated pool was freezing. The plug in our tub was out and lying in the middle of the tub. The electrical outlet in the bathroom did not work.
I have had not so positive experiences with Best Westerns in the past, but this experience was great. The staff was super welcoming. The pool and hot tub were in great shape. The room was very clean and nice. The value I paid for this room was incredible. The hotel is slightly dated with decor, but that isn't the biggest issue. The only thing I found was that most of the equipment int he workout room was broken. My plans to workout didn't happen mostly because of this. There breakfast could have been slightly larger of a selection, but they did have was great.

Find ANY OTHER HOTEL!!! I am not even sure where to begin... Houskeeping was the worst so let's start there. The housekeepers at this hotel are the rudest, cruelest,nastiest, human beings I have ever encountered. Along with there despicable attitudes they DO NOT CLEAN. We had to remove used condoms from a previous guest from the closet we stayed for 13 days and they never vacuumed or replaced toilet paper, refused to take dirty towels we asked that they change the bed linens and she simply made the bed with the same linens, folded up wet towels and put them on the shelves telling us to use them again and claiming they were clean. Housekeeping was constantly screaming and yelling on their phones every morning while pushing little children out of an elevator, calling guests fat asses, sweeping dirt under the ice machine. They never took our trash out we had to do it ourselves seriously folks we travel the U.S. for work and these housekeepers were the worst I have ever encountered. So you are probably wondering why we didnt report this... WE DID!!! MULTIPLE TIMES the owner doesnt care he screamed at my son for walking into the pool area alone (he's 15) he does not care one bit how the guests at this hotel are treated we watched him take cases of toilet paper and shove them in his own car (maybe that's why they had no toilet paper to give their guests) He was terrible and I hope that my official letter to Best Wedtern helps them to know what this owner is really like, best western should really take their name off of this hotel. Night shift clerk heavy set man never would give his name after being repeatedly asked was as nasty as the housekeepers and shouldn't work in any customer service field he was sexually harassing to me and incredibly rude and hateful cussing my husband when he asked for quarters for the vending machine. Besides the filth in our room the hall ways and common areas were fairly clean but the ph balance in the pool is not monitored and every person and hotel guest we spoke to had broken out in a rash due to the lack of upkeep on the pool chemicals. BREAKFAST WAS HORRIBLE burnt sausage daily they did not follow health code regulations and replace breakfast with fresh food daily the same EXACT dried up eggs and salsa and breads were brought out every single day we were thereThis place was the worst hotel we have ever experienced and considering my work takes me to 70- 80 hotels a year I am pretty experienced. Please find another hotel Louisville is full of nice places with decent rates THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.
Nice clean hotel and room and sheets. My only complaint was the thin small pool towels and no bedspreads for warmth while sleeping. Breakfast was very good and made our stay nice. Hot tub/pool hours should be extended at least for those over 18 as 9 pm is too early to close down the hot tub so an adult can relax end of their day.
The hotel needs a lot of work. The sink was plugged and over fellow. Do not recommend to any one. If you must, you should not pay more than $50 per night. in my case I paid $152. I could of had executive suit across the road at the Marriott!
This was one of the best motels I have stayed in or the past several years. I was very clean and the service was excellent. I will be staying here again. The breakfast was very good. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff was very courteous and did an excellent job
The property with everything we expected. We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool, and the breakfast. The room was clean and tidy and up to our expectations. We would definitely stay at this property again in the future if we are in the area.
I'm disappointed with this hotel.First room we got had not working heat.We got another room and this time heat was barely working. We couldn't sleep because of cold. Water pressure in the shower is nonexistent, towels are old and not clean white, more like beige.Not pleasure to use them.Breakfast is not very good, (only one type of yogurt) .I was staying in different Best Western before and this one is below average.
Do not stay here. The first night we got there late, went to sleep. The next morning I tried to take a shower, there was hardly any water pressure. Ceiling in room has dust. They moved us to another room, as I stayed a second night. This room was even dirtier and the shower in this bathroom hardly had any water pressure. The female associate at the front desk was very rude, refused this time to move my family to another room, and walked off when I was talking to her. My family left that evening did not stay. They still charged my credit card and when I disputed it, they fought it. Terrible hotel, terrible service. Best western you need to refund my family for that one night thank you!!!!
Staff is always very helpful and efficient and the rooms here are consistently clean. We were disappointed that the hot tub by the pool was not working--we had been looking forward to using it on such a cold and rainy day.
The staff was disconnected..unfriendly. They appeared to be unfamiliar with restaurants/places of interest. The hotel was dirty.The fan in the bathroom had so much accumulated dust that it was not functioning properly. The breakfast was unappetizing other than the cold cereal. We booked at this hotel because we stayed at a Best Western Plus the previous night in Holland Michigan and it was wonderful. The staff could not have been more helpful, the food was wonderful and we would stay there again anytime.
Meh, nothing special. The night staff, blonde haired gal, not so happy to be there?! OR didn't like us?! Either way, get a grip, please, you are in the customer service industry, which does not mean you should take any bad behavior but we were so kind with you. The rooms were okay. But way too expensive for the value.
Nice hotel for price. Largest room I think I have ever stayed in and it had a couch with a tv in a separate room with a door which was very nice the next morning when I wanted to watch tv while my husband and son were still sleeping. It also made it very quiet while we slept. You couldn't hear anything in the hallway at all and we were right beside the elevator. The only reason I didn't give it stars was because the bed my son slept in creaked every single time you made any movement on it. Quite noisy but other than that it was a good stay.
Our stay was good, close to many nice restaurants. Many good hotels are clustered together, take your pick and you will find decent hotels in the area. You will also find many places to shop close by.
My family and another family, six of us total (4 adults, 2 kids), stayed in their largest room/suite and it was just perfect for our two night getaway to Kentucky Kingdom. Helpful staff, easy parking, great location, and nice breakfast buffet. The pancake machine was broken, which was a let down for the kids, but the French toast was a nice substitution. I recommend this hotel if you're on a budget and need a large room.
We booked this hotel for 2 nights to visit family in town. The location was good and the staff was friendly. They tried to update things like furniture and countertops, but you can still tell it's an old hotel. It could definitely use fresh paint, the fans in the bathroom do nothing, and the rooms feel damp and dank. The pool area was ok. The hot tub had junk floating in it and the jets didn't work well. The continental breakfast was typical but decent. I guess I've stayed in nicer hotels before so I'm spoiled now, but I would not stay here again.
This place is awesome! Very friendly, clean and decor is updated. Didnt smell like an old musky place. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The two housekeepers left us a handwritten note of welcome along with a "smokey the bunny" on our pillow. It was very thoughtful of them. Will definitely recommend this place.
Hotel was clean and presentable. Great price for 2 queen bed and fold out sofa bed. Water pressure a little weak but it got the job done. Pull out sofa bed mattress was horrible but it's a pull out sofa bed so wasn't expecting much. Breakfast was great, deep friend sausage was excellent. Niece enjoyed the pool. Overall quality stay for good price.
Room smelled like cigarettes and sink was stopped up. There was people in hallway all night speaking on phones in Spanish. We wasnt able to get any rest while we was there. Overall was not pleased with this hotel.
This is the best hotel. The staff goes above and beyond to help gests and to make you feel like family. Anna is wonderful and I highly recommend this hotel. tyhe rooms are clean and spacious. great pool and they have a wonderful breakfast service. lots of choices and wonderful food.
We would definitely stay here again. The price was very reasonable and the breakfast was so delicious. It was very quiet. From the time I made the reservations until the time we checked out, we were very satisfied. The employees that we dealt with were very courteous. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only drawback was that the room was sort of small and one of the outlets did not work. I told the desk clerk and he said that it would be taken care of. Other than those two minor things, everything was great.
A friend and I stayed here for three nights on a trip to Louisville and Bardstown KY. It is located on the outskirts of Louisville and is close to shopping and dining. The property could use a renovation but was clean and the staff were very nice. The double queen room that we had had a separate sitting area with tv, microwave, refrigerator, and wet bar. The bedroom was in the back area which cut down on noise from the hall. Breakfast had a variety of selections including scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage links, pastries, cereals, pancakes, oatmeal, fruit and toast, juice and coffee. I definitely would stay here again.
My wife and I chose this hotel because it was the only local hotel that had a suite. I am a member of the Best Western loyalty program. Parking is free, check-in was quick. In the elevator the wife said the elevator floor needed cleaning. I might add that one elevator for five floors of rooms is not sufficient. Our room, 211, was directly across from the elevator. The inconsiderate people who make noise when they come out of an elevator always baffles me. Ignorant slobs. Our bedroom was away from the noise however. In the room there was coffee, a microwave and a frig. My wife complained that there was no hot water. I found that on one faucet the hot/cold lines were reversed. The other faucet had a problem with the armature, but we got beyond that. Now we have hot water. The door to the bedroom would not close all the way. I am an early riser and I was trying not to disturb her sleep. Breakfast was hot and OK. In general I believe the hotel could use a "sprucing" up. Not a bad place...just not what I expect from Best Western.
Hotels all over Louisville were booked up due to sports tournaments & summer travel. This Best Western was no exception. We stayed overnight on July 9th to attend a 2nd day at KY Kingdom. There were 6 of us, 2 adults, 2 teens & 2 preteens. Our room was a suiye with 2 queen beds & a separate room with 2 plus chairs, matching ottomons & a queen size sofa. Each room had a television although we didn't utilize them during our stay. They would've been great for all of us had we spent a longer length of time in our room. Breakfast was good, hot & had variety. I don't think I noticed any fruit but they had most other things for hot or grab & go types of breakfasts. During the weekdays, breakfast is served from 6:30-9:30. On that particular morning it didn't feel like the staff rushed us out when we got there close to 9 & stayed past 9:30. The kids enjoyed the pancake maker! The only issue, which is common due to the time we went to breakfast & that the hotel was booked was finding a table to sit at to eat. We made it work and all was fine, just be sure to get your breakfast earlier...early bird gets the worm! Lol Staff was GREAT at check-in and check-out! Great experience at this hotel!
We were in Louisville for a baseball tournament. Our room was clean and had a fridge which helped keep our drinks cold. The complementary breakfast was OK but I was a little put off when I saw kids handling all the fruit & breads. It was extremely hot (heat index up to 111°) and after sitting outside all day we were really looking forward to using the pool. Unfortunately it closes at 9 which seems pretty early and other hotel pools were open until 11.
Easy check in. Very nice front desk staff. King suite is huge. Love the quietness of the rooms. You do not hear anyone else around you. Very well update hotel inside. Great family areas for kids to enjoy a swim in the pool.
stayed here for 2 days hard to find. had nice pool. the rooms were small, but clean, the breakfast had scrambled eggs, french toast,sausage. it was good. the front desk girl was helpful when we were trying to find something to do.
The staff is terrific, very friendly and always willing to give us directions or recommendations. Breakfast was good. Didn't use pool, looked clean but high chlorine smell. Bed was harder than we like.
They hold $250.00 for incidentals that is pending and if using a debt card takes several, several, several days before you get that money back. Way too much for a damage deposit. We reserved two suites so had $500 held up. Horrible!
very good staff, clean comfortable room , excellent breakfast , very comfortable beds.highly recommended. very convenient location away from interstate. and major roads , nice and quiet. plenty of parking huge lot in the back. fitness center and pool and hot tub available.
Not sure i will use this branch of hotels in the future. I went to have a couple day vacation while attending my sons archery tournament. I almost did not get to check in due to a misrepresentation of information from hotel staff.
My stay at best western was not a good experienced. Cleanliness of the was room poor. This hotel new some upgrade. The impression of hotel starts with bedsheets and floors. If I am paying to sleep out of my home, I do expect it to be better then my room.
A very awesome friendly staff in all areas from the front desk to the cleaning people to the lady serving breakfast. Room was very nice and clean and a lot of room.I would recommend staying at this Best Western to everyone I know that will be traveling. It was amazing!!
My husband and I stayed here for one night while visiting Louisville. Older place but the lady at checkin was super friendly. Our room was on the 3rd floor right outside the elevator doors. At first I was concerned about the noise we opened the door and stepped into a large living area with tv, couch, table, microwave. This room led to a small area with sink then led to the bedroom with another tv and separate bathroom. The bathroom fan was somewhat loud but otherwise the room was clean. We did eat breakfast, the usual but several people were waiting for the batter for the pancake machine to be refilled. The young lady working the breakfast area was too busy on her phone. If you have a room filled with guests waiting for food you need to service them. She did have a tip jar out but we didn't tip her. BW, you should make a policy that employees should not use their phones during working hours.
Excellent location, great staff, who were helpful in every way imaginable, comfortable room, great facility all make this a great hotel. If we are traveling east again through this area, this will be our preferred hotel.
I don't normally leave reviews, and usually have a high tolerance and understanding for places that may have issues, but this was absolutley TERRIBLE. Checked in and the room had a clogged toilet, stained bed skirt, and an offensive odor. Front desk stated she was the only one working and had no maintenance to send up but offered us to come down and get a communal plunger to bring back up to the room to plunge ourselves. After fixing the toilet ourselves, the room just had a general dirtiness which I have not experienced at other Best Westerns. The complimentary breakfast was also lacking, the eggs were downright wet and the tray of sausage burnt, not once, but every morning.

My wife and I stayed there for an overnight concert trip. Excellent room for us and the breakfast that was included in the price was good also. I've had better, but it was good for the price paid. They place was clean and the staff was friendly. I'd definitely stay there again.
We came for one night on our road south. The room was big and clean. Check in was fast and easy. Breakfast was good, nothing special ( the kids loved the pancake machine, where you can see how your pancake is made) A tip for advice: don't take a room next to the elevator!!! Every time the doors of it opens they ring, not a nice thing if it is six a.m. and you can hear it rings every 30 sec... All and all a good park for the night place!
The sizes of our suite was fantastic! And receiving a free hot breakfast for our entire family was the best deal we could have hoped for! Our only issue was that we needed to have two members sleep on the sofa bed, but the mattress was pretty much unusable. You could feel both every spring in the mattress and every bar beneath the mattress.
This hotel has very small rooms and the doors do not fit well so you can see the hallway light all around the door. Therefore noise from the hall and other rooms is excessive. However, the room was clean, breakfast was okay, and the staff was very friendly.

We chose to reserve at this hotel at the last minute when a change in travel plans occurred. We arrived at the hotel at midnight, but the welcome that we received was wonderfully warm! The receptionist was friendly and helpful. She upgraded us to a larger room with living area (fridge, microwave, coffee maker) and bedroom with king bed (very comfortable). The bathroom was somewhat small. The room was well-supplied (coffee and tea, bathroom supplies) and very clean. There were no issues with noise. The breakfast buffet was very good and a few of the hot dishes were real eggs (scrambled) and sausage. The attendant in the buffet area was attentive to needs. We also especially appreciated the location - a short jaunt off of I-64.
We were looking for a hotel for four nights and found this hidden gem off of the I-64. The front desk clerk was super nice and helpful. We had two double beds, a mini-fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean as well as the lobby. We had a nice hot breakfast; eggs, sausage links, yogurt, juice and coffee. There is something for everyone. I like the convenience and the price. I would definitely stay here again.
Room was okay. Was a king bed room but was rather small. The sink where you brush your teeth, shave or anything else was across from bed. Not in bathroom never seem that before. I could not close the drain in the tub due to, too much hair in drain & around bottom of stopper. When I first got there T.V. remote didn't work but was fixed next day. Breakfast was good. Consisted of eggs, sausage, French toast but the usual foods. The last day there they added fried potatoes. There is a small indoor pool. But my great nieces & great nephew enjoy it. So over all was a great stay other then the hair I pulled out of drain. Oh, one other thing you would think they would seal the a.c. in when they put it into the wall. There was a big gap down one side & underneath it. The one night it got really cold the heater stayed on due to that gap underneath it. But would stay there again & probably will in June. Just wish I could get a ground floor room. But those are for dogs. Most hotels I have stayed in the dog rooms are either at one end or up on the 3rd floor. First hotel where they are all on first floor.
Called on 29 Dec to book a military rate pet friendly room. Spoke with a woman (Erica?) and she booked us. She didn't mention any restrictions on weight for our dogs. As we are checking in at 1:30AM (long road trip), we are refused entry by their overnight staff (who was very unprofessionally in appearance) due to our two Labradors being over 45lbs. Their miscommunication and poor service/training forced us back on the road at a dangerous time of night to be driving, and thus ended our lengthy loyalty to Best Western for our yearly road trips.

While a little tricky to find, once there it was a good experience. Friendly, helpful staff and quiet place to stay. If I am in the area again, I will choose this hotel. It is close to interstates and main roads in Louisville.
We stayed in a very nicely arranged room with 1 queen bed & a small sofa. It was very easy to navigate and most accommodating to our needs. It was 'non smoking' & true to the hotel's word. The breakfast buffet was very delicious with lots of choices. The staff was very pleasant, fun to share time with, & very eager to please. We would choose Best Western Louisville East each time we visit.
First room had a used condominium in the bed. Second rooms bathtub drain was not functional. Therefore, kids could not enjoy a bath. Behind beds and under them are full of trash and dirt. Would not stay at this hotel again.

Very nice hotel. Wasn't going to be back to the room until around 8, The attendant let the pool stay open a few extra minutes. Was a really nice gesture that she didn't have to do. Nice breakfast, we got down kinda late and there was still plenty of food and the best thing was it was still fresh. Overall nice stay. Very nice hotel for the price!
Nice hotel and staff are capable,professional and friendly. Be aware that the king rooms have the sink located in the bedroom area not in the bathroom, This creates a problem for two people traveling together with different agendas.
Super quiet hotel off the beaten path but still close to highway shopping etc. Kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Breakfast was enjoyable with many choices and a helpful attentive staff. We stayed here a few years ago and were impressed. Still feel the same. You will have a hard time saying goodbye to Felecia when you checkout!
Nice clean room. King size bed very nice Was perfect for the two of us. They need more parking and a little better quality food for breakfast but it wasn't terrible. Very nice at a great price! We would stay again.
For the very reasonable rate that we received, we had a very pleasant stay. We have had newer hotels with a better breakfast, but not at this price. It is a good clean place to spend the night. There is a basic hot breakfast with sausage links and scrambled eggs.
We were in Louisville for the NAILE--(livestock expo). this hotel was not on the list of hotels for the expo but it is only 15 minutes from the EXPO center and definitely the best place to stay. It is modern, clean and quiet. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great..lots of choices. we definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back next time we visit the EXPO center.
This was the best price I could find with a quality hotel, and though the price was on the lower end, I am certain that the quality was on the upper end of the surrounding hotels. The breakfast was one of the better ones I have had with an included breakfast. And, the staff was exceptional - professional, pleasant, and obviously glad to serve. Highly recommend this for your stay.
This hotel is in a great location, right off the interstate. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. I stayed at this hotel because of it's 100% smoke-free policy due to family members breathing issues. When using the stairs to walk to the lobby, the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming in the stairwell and 1st floor hallway. This was very disappointing for my stay
this is my first time at this property. We were very satisfied and will be back when sent to the area for work. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Room was clean. breakfast was appealing and they had a decent variety.
We found this a convenient location for our version of the bourbon trail. This East Louisville Best Western was clean, quiet, and safe. They offer a hot breakfast (eggs,french toast, and sausage) along with the standard items. What more could you ask for.

Excellent check in and room. Room was clean and comfortable.. There was a problem with the shower curtain rod causing the curtain to keep sliding to the center of the rod. After checking it the screws which hold the rod up in the correct position were loose. A simple repair is needed. A nice hotel for the price. Breakfast ok+

This hotel made a great stop for just one night. It was what you would expect from a chain hotel like this, nothing special but everything you need. It's always nice to have a hot breakfast included instead of just the continental. Staff are all very nice.
The exact location was OK but traffic nearby was heavy. The room had everything I needed including a frig and microwave. The room was small. The hotel was kind of dark. The hall ways were not bright and cheerful.
My son, who uses a wheelchair, and I were headed to NC from Missouri. We stopped to spend the night in Louisville. I found this hotel by accident, but it was meant to be. It was late, the young man at the desk, gave me my AARP discount, although I couldn't find my card. He asked several times if I needed assistance. He was very helpful. Our standard room was surprisingly spacious even with a large wheelchair, it was clean and comfortable. The next morning, I had difficulty getting my son back into his chair. After trying several things, I finally swallowed my pride and embarrassment and went to the front desk to ask for assistance. The 2 ladies were awesome. After hearing my story, the located 2 maintenance men and told them the situation. The men and 1 lady came up to the room and introduced themselves to my son. The lady had previously worked in a nursing facility and knew about transfers. She took control, gave directions to one of the men and the 2 of them quickly and safely transfered him. I could not express my gratitude enough. Later, as we were eating breakfast, the maintainance men checked on us to see if we needed anything else. It was pouring rain when we were ready to leave, the older man pulled my van under the canopy and loaded our luggage as I loaded my son. Great caring people. Management should be proud of their staff.
This hotel is always clean & the staff is always nice & helpful. My family & I stay here 2-3 times a year & always enjoy it. The indoor pool is also maintained & taken care of. The grounds & lobby area are well maintained.

We were on a girls weekend and looking for a reputable, clean but affordable place to stay. We found it!! Friendly, helpful staff. Clean accommodations and a great breakfast (money saver!). We would def. book here again in the future :)
the staff was very understanding of our visit from beginning to end.. the room was very clean and adequate for my wife and my needs... the breakfast was excellent and the hours of its availability was more than enough..
March 4th, 2017 we stayed at this hotel and it seemed decent at first. A bit after midnight we heard people in the room next to ours with the connecting door coughing heavily, it sounded like they were either very sick or smoking something. The next morning we woke up to get our luggage packed up for checkout and smelled marijuana smoke by the adjoining door. It was 100% obvious at that point that I was hearing the neighbors "toking up" that night and idiots that were going to be fined for it. A few weeks later I noticed a $250 charge on my card from that hotel, and I called them. My first call revealed that I was charged for "smoking in the room" and I should call back to talk to the "general manager". On my second call I talked to somebody else that told me I was charged for smoking marijuana, and no other rooms were charged for smoking that night. He also rubbed it into my face about how he remembered the smell from my room filling the hallways and taking hours to clean up. He also said the "general manager" might call me back but probably not, and there was no way I was getting a refund. The funny thing is neither I nor my fiance smoke anything nor do we smell like it. I sometimes feel like an outcast because marijuana is so common among young people yet I absolutely hate it. This is complete robbery, I did not do this. Not a day goes by that I don't hate this hotel for stealing from me. Please do not support them.

Great plae to stay with kids. Affordable, clean, casual, easy access to highway, and includes continental breakfast. The staff was friendly, inviting and helpful. The women running the continental breakfast were wonderful with the kids! Would stay again.
We made an impromptu stop which they were pretty accommodating with our 11 month old son. The only issue we had with hotels is that they wouldn't let us pay with cash. We understand holding a room with a card for security and room issues but having to pay with a card when you have cash put aside is annoying. The room was spacious with a tiny bathroom but worked for the night.
The room was much larger than I had expected for the price that I paid. I was pleasantly surprised to have plenty of room the both of my children, my husband, and I to all be able to stretch out and have our own beds. For a two room suite I would have expected the price to be higher. I was pleasantly surprised.
My party of 5 reserved a 2 bedroom suite to spend the night on our way home to Ohio from Florida on 8/13. The front desk hostess was knowledgable and very kind. She took care of my transaction quickly and smoothly. She gave clear directions to my room. The suite was a perfect size for us; roomy and clean. The breakfast buffet was organized and well kept. The food was filling and all hot. We enjoyed our stop especially the noon check out time since that meant we didn't have to rush. I would recommend this Best Western to anyone needing a place to stay that is value priced and clean.
Wonderful smell walking off the elevator. Seemed like a freshly shampood carpet. Elevator maintenance from 2200-0600. Nice to see, actually. The hotel is clean and up-to-date, but the sink is in the suite, not in the bathroom. The rooms are a tad smaller than other king suites we've stayed at recently. No alarm clock/radio. Quality products being used throughout. Good breakfast.

I like to book ahead when possible so we don't run into issues of not finding a room and wanted to stay for a few days to look around this beautiful city. Being a Best Western Rewards card holder I decided on this hotel since it was close to thing we wanted to see. The Best Western Louisville - East is only 10 miles from downtown on I-64 or I-264. It's also very close to a Target, Wal-Mart and numerous restaurants, stores and car dealerships. They have an indoor pool with a hot tub, guest laundry, exercise facility, wifi and smoke free. We arrived and were greeted with smiles and friendly faces. The check-in was pretty normal and since we were on a motorcycle towing a small trailer we were directed to a perfect place to park. This left us the opportunity to unhook the trailer and secure it at the hotel instead of dragging it around with us. The room had a king size bed, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and was clean a fresh smelling. We adjusted the air conditioner to our liking and decided to go down the street to eat. The room was on the west side of the building and we saw a beautiful sunset from our window. The next morning after eating the complimentary full hot breakfast including French Toast sticks instead of waffles, Yogurt and juice in the hotel we set off the sight see. The breakfast area was clean and plenty of places to sit. Our first stop was the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory (See the review on it's own page). The museum was set up very nice and has a great deal of information, history and bats used by famous baseball players over the years. We took the factory tour (NO cameras allowed) and our tour guide was great. Next it was off the Louisville Mega Cavern to take a tram ride through this huge underground cavern that can be used for storage, bike riding, BMX racing, zip line or anything else you can imagine. You can make reservations ahead of time online through their web site. explained safety numerous items before we started. The tour is about 60 to 75 minutes long and goes under the Louisville Zoo and even I-264. Next it was off to the famous Churchill Downs, (See this review on it's own page) home to the Kentucky Darby since 1875 and the longest continually running sporting event in America. The Kentucky Derby Museum is wonderful place to visit. It cover the history of this famous race from the beginning up until the most recent derby winner with numerous exhibits, some interactive. The also have a fantastic 360 degree movie which is a must see that covers previous winners as well as the day of the Kentucky Derby. If you get there in the morning early you may even see the future derby winner training on the track. Finally it was time to eat and it was a quick trip (about 10 to 15 minutes) again to the hotel to freshen up and back to downtown for dinner an Joe's Crab Shack (See review on it own page) which was a little hard to locate because of some construction but is visible from I-64. The restaurant sits only a few feet from the Ohio River and we watched numerous boats and barges pass by. My only complaint is you have to pay for parking even to go to eat since it's located along the riverfront. The food was delicious. After riding around a little longer we headed back to our hotel. Fresh clean sheets and towels awaited us. The shower had good water pressure and relaxing. The king size bed was comfortable and had numerous pillows. The small dorm style refrigerator had a ice area where we were able to place some bottles of water to keep frozen for our next day travels. This is my only pet peeve and it's with almost 98% of the places we stay. Those little refrigerators never get real cold or don't have a place where to freeze things. Lucky for us this one did. The next morning after eating some breakfast at hotel's complimentary breakfast area which was well stocked and clean, it was off to our next stay. Check-out was quick and again everyone was smiling a friendly. I would recommend the Best Western Louisville - East and will stay here again when traveling through the area.
I would stay again if in town!!! The pillows are something else, but still a great Hotel with great staff from the top to the bottom!!! Their breakfast was good but it was the same everyday, but their was always plenty of it!!!
We didn't have a reservation and also didn't know it was the annual car show weekend. So, the rates were higher than normal, but so was the other hotels in the area. The parking lot was a decent car show by itself because of participants staying here too. There was a problem with stained bed linen and trash on the floor behind the couch we didn't notice until the day we were checking out. Check the bed sheets before sleeping on them! Housekeeping may not have put clean sheets on between visitors.
The staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Pool and hot tub were wonderful for our kids. We had a suite for our family of 6 and it was perfect! This was a wonderful getaway for our little family.
This hotel is about 20 minutes from Kentucky Kingdom without traffic. It is located down the street from Walmart and a host of restaurants. Breakfast was hot and included eggs, french toast sticks, sausage, yogurts, and bakery items. A very pleasant hotel.
A little off the beaten track, but that can be a good thing. Clean room, bathroom, no objectionable smell, several story so you get an elevator. Indoor pool, but again no hot tub. What is up with that? The girls at the check in were friendly and helpful. Have to follow GPS instructions quickly when getting off the freeway(turnpike in this area) from the southbound side. Rate for the room was really good. Because the hot tub issue is becoming an issue why I didn't go better than very good.
The Louisville EAST Best Western was very nice. It was located near a Walmart and was close to a lot of restaurants in the area. Easy access to the interstates. The location was nice and quite. Really enjoyed our stay there.
The Best Western Louisville East is a well appointed and maintained hotel with a caring, friendly and professional staff. The hotel is located near a variety of good restaurants and is far enough from major highways to prevent road noise from interrupting a good night's sleep.
- Location - Best Western Louisville East is located near some shopping area's which is perfect if you still need to grab a couple of items. The hotel is easily accessible and has enough places to park your car. - Hotel - The hotel looks pretty decent (like all Best Western do) and there is plenty enough room to relax and lounge near the lobby. They have a inside swimming pool which was infested with children when I was there (the pool isn't that big). The hotel was clean and is very quiet. - Room - The room was nice as it had a big kind size bed in it. The room and bathroom were very clean and there was a vault, microwave and a fridge which were all free to use. The only thing I didn't like was the fact the airco was directly beside the bed. If you had the airco on at night then one person would get very cold. Besides that, the room was perfect! - Wifi - The Wifi is free and stable, I didn't have any problems with it. - Breakfast and dinner - It's only possible to have breakfast in the hotel (its included in the price) but you cant have dinner. Breakfast is simple but decent. Don't be late, because they will start cleaning everything with or without you in there (we overslept and entered 5 minutes before it closed). - Service - The people behind the desk were very kind but kinda slow. They also only have 1 telephone so when someone is in a call the hotel is not reachable (I had to wait for like 20 minutes before I got hold of them). Also with checking out we experienced long waits because of the slow handling at the check-out desk. - Conclusion - I would say its a decent hotel and you will enjoy your stay there. What really bothered me was the slow service. Compared to other hotels they really score low on that. Still, as they were friendly, its just a test for your patience and you will get a nice room and have a pleasant stay!
Just santed tonchill for the night will use this hotel for that greatnpool and fitness room bufett had great food and i love how the staff is caring and nice will always stay at a best western hotel and suites
The Louisville BW was an excellent hotel to house our students during our conference. The location was very close to food, retail stores (Walmart), and the highway. Made for easy access to many Louisville attractions.
We had a very nice stay with the exception of going late to breakfast to find there needed to be more hot items on the buffet such as sausage links and French toast. They did have several cold items to select from which were good options for those not wanting or expecting a hot breakfast.
Hotel was excellent, clean, and comfortable. The staff was professional and courteous. All the amenities were very good and working properly. I would recommend Best Western Hotels to all my friends without hesitation.
On 3 Jul 2017 checked into Best Western in Louisville. The staff members. Any problems were resolved promptly. The breakfast though simple was great. The rooms were clean and well maintained. This property has been greatly refurbished and is a real value for the casual traveler.
A++++ Absolutely the best stay I have had in years ! The staff is gracious. The pool is indoor and very clean. The room was very clean! Breakfast is by far the best I have ever had in a hotel!! Eggs, sausage, french toast sticks, bagels, cereal, fruit and more !!! Lots of tables for people to eat. This seems to be in a great area. Walmart less than a mile away. Highly recommend !!
Room was average. Customer service was below average. Night clerk hid in corner with head phones on didn't even see me walk up. And then was rude in almost all questions ask of him. Ate breakfast the server did nothing but complain to the maintenance man. The eggs was cold food was put in pans but no means of keeping them warm. We Was checking out, ask to talk to the manager to address issues Was told that the manager hadn't made it in yet. This was at 1030am. And one small trivia thing. When we checked in at around midnight we noticed the elevator door look like a bunch of kids put stuff on the doors and wiped it everywhere. I thought ok but when we went to check out at 11am. It was still there. Just nasty plan down right nasty.
As soon as I got in the room my allergies began to act up. Left for dinner and I cleared up only to have another flare up when I returned. After being sleepless for several hours began to suspect something was up with the room. I pulled the AC filter out and it was covered with dust. I reported it when I checked out and the lady said she would have someone check it. smh
It wasn't clean and the pool is the size of a hot tub. Out of pillows and elevator felt like it was collapsing at any time. This was a very horrible experience for my anniversary weekend but for the only positive is that the staff was very friendly
We stayed two nights on our first trip to Kentucky. The bed was great and we slept well. The person at the desk during checkin was friendly and helpful. We used the pool and hot tub which were okay. Breakfast was good. Convenient location. I would stay again.
This hotel is average. I really only stay here, because the Marriott across the street has great food and an amazing bourbon bar. The staff at the desk is unfriendly and you will never see a smile. They sit behind the desk and won't acknowledge you are standing there until you say something. This has happened both times I have stayed here. The pool or hot tub seems to constantly be down for what ever reason. I have walked in to the pool to use it and there is an employee sitting in there on his cell phone. Breakfast is pretty bad. They serve the same thing everyday. The sausage is pale and jiggly. I have cold cereal everyday, because I am that bored and disgusted by it. However, the staff servicing the breakfast area is always the sweetest and most caring employees in the hotel. The staff does not acknowledge your Elite status. I have stayed here twice now and I have never been upgraded. The rooms I have received are smaller than the barracks I have stayed in while I served in the Army. I would go back, but only because of the the bourbon bar that is across the street. I have one other complaint. The people who clean the room in the mornings left behind a dirty rag on my sink.
This was our first time in Louisville and this hotel did not live up to our expectations. Convenient location and easy to find. Pricing is confusing - when I made the reservation it was one price. When I looked at it later online it had dropped almost $20. Priceline had an even lower price the next day. I understand that there are some variations possible but this seemed rather outrageous. Makes me wonder if I should have dickered over the price I had to pay. Anyway. As for the hotel - nothing wrong with our room, in fact I slept very well. But we are retired and quite out of shape. Not always sure footed. That bathtub is a lawsuit waiting to happen. So slippery. There are tubs with textured surfaces to prevent falling. But not in our room. The other big complaint was the ice machine. Or lack thereof. 5 floors - 2 ice machines. The 1st floor machine had a preprinted sign on it that it was out of order. The 3rd floor machine was not working at 8 am. Possibly out of ice. But 2 machines for 5 floors??? Sure we carry a small cooler. But when you're traveling most people do. Breakfast was good. Eggs, french toast and delicious link sausages. Nice eating area. We look forward to a nice hot tub after driving 10-12 hours. Unfortunately this hotel has a strict 9 pm closing so we missed it by 20 minutes. The hotels we typically stay at usually are open till 10 or 11. Definitely disappointing. Pretty sure we won't stay here again our next time through the area.
Hotel is easily located near the entrance and exit to I-64. There are plenty of amenities nearby and the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and updated. The hotel is a good value for the price. Breakfast is provided and is typical of your general breakfast provided by a hotel.
This hotel is excellent! the staff is exceptional, takes total care of every customer, and work hard to accommodate every need. Of special mention is Stephanie, at the front desk, who is a magician when it comes to making sure we are completely happy with our stay. She is awesome, and her multilingual capabilities have proven invaluable on multiple occasions. You should be very proud of her and how well she does her job. Way to go Stephanie!
The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the price was decent. The breakfast was EXCELLENT. BUT, the one and only elevator made really weird creaking noises, and all but the emergency light in it went out our second day there. In our bathroom, the door would not close - basically too big for the doorway. There appeared to be a new tub and surround, BUT the faucet did not fit against the wall. In fact, there was a good two inch gap. There were numerous TV channels available, BUT there was no channel guide, so it was hit and miss finding a station to watch much less a program. The room was quite large and had both a refrigerator and a microwave. There was a small indoor pool and exercise room, but we didn't use them.
December 17, 2016 Breakfast Serving Area is the Positive Highlight The Best Western Louisville East is not the newest but certainly clean and somewhat renovated. Sorry, but the following review is not great. However, we stayed at this same Best Western 2 months later and had the opposite experience. Everything had been fixed. The second time was a very pleasant stay. My wife immediately said that the bed was uncomfortable. I agreed. It was harder than usual. The bed was a little noisy when getting out of bed or turning over. Surprisingly, the bed bowed toward the center with 2 adults sleeping. I'd really like for that not to happen again. Time for an upgrade! However, this room was pleasantly wider than the usual area in front of the beds. There was 6 feet of space between the beds and desk/refrigerator/dresser. The bathroom light flickered and popped when starting up. The heat was not on when we first came into the room with no option for a constant fan. The walls were a little thin -- needing to be compensated for with a heater and bathroom fan for white noise. When people, especially children, spoke in full voice, it could be heard. The elevator had a noticeable worn smell of oil and there was a rhythmic thumping sound before the doors started to close and while they were open. Breakfast was the positive highlight. I liked the "windowed" wooden latticed walls of the eating area. The serving area much nicer and is separated from the dining area with plenty of room to get to food and the choices were spread out instead of compacted. There were two women attendants (instead of only one), one to cook the food and the other to keep the serving area clean and well stocked. The serving lady said, "She's the hot mama and I'm the cold mama!" The link sausage was extra good and the eggs & french toast were decent. I would rate the stay about average overall for a Best Western. Replace the beds and the rating would go up by 30%. February 18, 2017 Front Desk Attendant Remembered my Name This is our second time to stay at the BW Louisville East location. The staff was friendly. Our room suite was nicer than last time. Good food. Sausages were still great, with a different brand than I usually see. I thought the attendant said the sausages were from Sysco and I was pleasantly surprised. The biscuits and gravy were great and the eggs were good. Mary, the lady at the front desk, was sitting down in the lobby for a moment talking with housekeeping. When I handed her my key to check out, she called me by my name saying, Thank you Mr. ____. It was impressive for her to have memorized my name.
My husband and I stayed here one night prior to a graduation in Louisville. Our king suite was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and good climate control; and the hotel was blessedly quiet for a Thursday night. Too bad we couldn't sleep late! The hot breakfast -- served in an attractive small restaurant-like room -- was ample and of decent quality. My husband didn't have time to swim but enjoyed soaking in the hot tub. The manager and front-desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Only problem: the hotel seems to have only one elevator, for all purposes; and our checkout was delayed when some maids dropped off a cart of clean linens on our floor and kept going, without noticing that we were waiting to go down with our cart of bags. We would stay in this hotel again in the event of a return visit to Louisville.
I would highly suggest that you pass on this hotel. Many issues bugs in bathroom cover 20-25 (lost count), toilet paper cover falling off the wall, water pressure very bad, and had to wait to check in about 15 minutes, staff not at desk.m
Good very hospitable only thing negative was the dingy washcloth. The receptionist was friendly and professional. Handicap parking was great. My trip was just overnight. I got a good nights sleep and got back on the road. It was nicely located and convenient to get to.
I would definitely recommend this site. They were wonderful from the front desk at check-in to breakfast the next morning. Staff was friendly and everything was very clean. Breakfast was very nice for a continental style meal. The only bad thing was the pillows. They are too small. I was in a room with a king-sized bed and there were 4 little pillows that were the size of decorative cushions. Not sure who thought that was a good idea? It wouldn't keep me from returning, but I would bring my own pillow next time. :)
We were more than happy with our room. Very clean and had a nice sitting room and a door separating the bedroom at a very reasonable rate. Bed was very comfortable. Pillows were not so great and they need to get some new bath towels but those are our only complaints. A very comfortable and clean motel.
Check-in was fast and smooth, room was in immaculate condition and smelled good. Very clean! The bed was very comfortable and I got a good night's rest. I woke up to a great hot and cold breakfast buffet, probably the best breakfast out of all the hotels I stayed at. I don't have any complaints about this hotel whatsoever, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel experience at a decent price.
I would recommend this location , very clean & comfortable nice professional staff as well! Breakfast was good as well! I would suggest a air fresher the room had a little odor it smelled like the AC was giving off the odor not sure- however I had a nice stay!
Fantastic ! Staff courteous, room very clean, location great (close to 64 and walking distance to Dairy Queen), pool closed too early 9pm, although we enjoyed it in the morning. Pool and hot tub clean and perfect temp. The breakfast was everything you could want (scrambled eggs, sausage, french toast, sweet rolls, cereal). This is the second BW we have gone to on our little trip and both exceeded our expectations. This BW had the look and feel of an expensive hotel at the fraction of the cost! Definitely changing their old old...old.... reputation. Would stay again and recommend.!
Stayed at this hotel for the second time as it was very comfortable and great value. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and went out of there way to assist. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Best Western facilities often provide the best value for the main features I need: pet friendly, and a jacuzzi or hottub to soak away the stress of a long drive. This particular one fit that bill, although in the Pet Friendly section of the facility they don't have my family-preferred room layout (king bed with fold-out sofa). Includes an outstanding breakfast service and complementary lobby coffee bar ... nice touch. Unfortunately, on one night we had neighbors that apparently never learned about the "indoor voice", so sleep quality was poor that night, as we could hear them carousing through the wall.
The hotel is older, the rates are high for what you get. Our room had a mold on the shower curtain, a bath mat that had a stain on it, and the TV needed to be replaced due to it not operating right. Noise was bad lots of it. The breakfast was alright, but not a good set-up.Spend a few extra bucks and get a nicer hotel.
Well appointed hotel. Nice rooms and very clean. Great pool and fitness center. We loved our stay in Louisville The BE hotel was a big part of the reason. We highly recommend it to anyone for a relaxing stay.
It was alright. The property seems to be in pretty good condition all around. I did feel it was a little pricey for what you get. The bedroom is definitely not what I would call private in the king suite. It has an opening above the door, so the A/C can make it out to the living area. This is not very effective, the living area was at least 10 degrees hotter than the bedroom, and that was with the bedroom door open most of the day. The king bed was firm, but lumpy. I've slept on worse and I've slept on way better. In addition, the bathroom is only accessible through the bedroom. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The pool is a little small and has a sign that says only 5 people are allowed in at any one time. This was never followed, must be a local code or something. The pool was heated and is inside. It is in good condition, with towels provided. The pool and hot tub are open at 9AM and are locked at 9PM. I never ate the breakfast myself, but others in my party were very satisfied with the included hot breakfast. Great area to be in, many shopping possibilities and restaurants within 5 minutes of the property.
Nice pleasant way fare stop, room was clean, staff pleasant, breakfast satisfying, easy on-off from highway. Internet worked well, very family oriented so be prepared for the hustle and bustle of weekend fun
If like hearing kids in the room above running back and fourth all night and the management not doing anything to resolve it then stay here. The smell of the room was very bad as well. Smelled like someone's cheap perfume that I couldn't get rid of.
2nd stay here for 3 nights again. Very clean and pleasant. The only thing we missed were the chocolate chip cookies they had last year. Those are such a treat and we missed them. We had a very pleasant visit. The ladies that clean the rooms were very helpful too. Thanks for another nice visit.
This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this hotel. We came back because we were treated so well the first time. The second time experience was just as good. We would highly recommend this Best Western in Louisville to anyone who wants a great hotel where you are treated royally. We are Diamond guests and were upgraded to a suite upon arrival.
The hotel is not the greatest but it was clean and the staff were courteous. The decor could use some sprucing up, but we were only there for one night and the hotel worked perfectly for what we needed it for. The indoor pool was a big hit for the kids and the free breakfast was good enough for us to grab a quick bite before getting back on the road. Nothing to write home about, but great for a good night's rest and bite in the morning.
staff was rude, hotel was extremely loud, parking was scarce due to the renovations, i met the owner, he was extremely rude when i brought these issues to his attention. I will never go to another best western if this is the standard.
very helpful and friendly staff except for one of the kitchen staff-did not catch her name-went to eat breakfast at 9:15 and they were out of bacon-when I asked if there was any more or maybe sausage she just shrugged and said no & proceeded to sit on her rear and watch tv!!! better eat early or go out for breakfast!!!
This place is ok, but no frills. The breakfast was not that great , eggs were watery, sausage was burnt, and the danishes were stale. I will choose another place to stay the next time I go to louiville. The air/ heater unit made a terrible rattle all night, so no sleep here!!! Also the hot tub was broke down which was a real disappointment and was not told about it b4 or even during check in.
I thought the room was nice and the breakfast was excellent the staff Hunter was very understanding and welcoming...he went out of his way to provide excellent service. The lady Janet i believe was her name was very unaccommodating and rude at time nit picked at us from the time we arrived due to not wanting to honor us a fair rate at time of arrival. But with Hunter doing such an excellent job it made us forget how rude we were treated upon checking in. Overall our 4 day stay was great with us avoiding the front desk with the rude employee (Janet) on shift.
This was a nice motel with good internet connection, tasty breakfast with protein options and comfy beds. It's what we expect when we arrived. The hours for breakfast were confused, as we were told the room closed at 10 but the cleaner was clearing up at 9:30.
Away from the Downtown crowds but yet convenient to all the great Louisville attractions. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. They provide a good breakfast every morning along with a hotel wi-fi link. Enjoy your Stay.
When places such as yours offers amenities such as a hot tub, fitness center I would think that who ever is in charge would see that they are in working condition. We had to find out by ourselves by taking a walk thru the facilities before we went to our room, we were told about the amenities but were not told that they were not in working condition. I understand that sometimes somethings don't work but when all things dont work someone should take charge and do something about it. We did not get to enjoy the hot tub which we were told it needed a part for it to be repaired but it seems that part has been needed for a very long time. Lets get it together folks.
This hotel was not excellent, not terrible, just average. A bit of a damp smell throughout the hotel. Breakfast was good not great, pretty traditional fare. Room was a bit pricey for what you get, but overall it was fine. Was also disappointed about little details like the Kentucky State Flag being flown upside down.
Very nice place to stay! Customer service could definitely stand some serious training. Hotel was very clean and slept really nice. internet worked well as all other amenities. Thanks Best Western for a good place to relax as I travel our highways.
We actually didn't get to stay at the hotel. We had a family emergency and had to cancel our reservations but Timothy the manager was awesome at doing that for me at the last minutes and not giving us a huge fee. Just a special thank you to him for his consideration and help. Will definitely be staying there if we go to Louisville! A big thank you again Timothy:)
Was greeted very warmly at the front desk and provided a lot of good information about the hotel without having to ask. The hotel was very clean and fresh looking. The room and the bed were very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was enough, but could have been higher. The breakfast room was comfortable and clean. The coffee was adequate.
The ratings for this property don't seem to square with the comments and I am glad I wasn't thrown off by them. This hotel is far on the east side of Louisville right off I-64 in a business park area but if you are driving that is fine. The property is well kept. We had a nicely laid out room with a separate closet as well as a microwave and fridge. The sink was in the room itself with the shower and toilet separate which meant that the vanity counter was extra large, which was nice. They had two luggage racks (a gold star as there are usually two travelers) as well as plenty of charging spots --on the desk, as well as at each lamp. Bed was very comfortable with top sheet over blanket and nice linens though towels were a bit think and not terribly absorbent. Room lighting was very good. Breakfast was great. Pretty good scrambled eggs, wonderful link sausage (best of trip), French toast, yogurt selection, cheerful attendants who kept up with things very well. The staff at check-in (around 10:30 pm) were not terribly welcoming. This was a mild downer but not a deal-breaker. Don't let the reasonable prices make you wonder that something's wrong.
It was a very good experience outside of the comment made about the bathroom. Food was good at breakfast. Pleasant and comfortable. Either you want a book written and I've taken the time to fill out the survey and you want me to become a writer, when I'm not. Sorry my stay wasn't so great that I'm willing to continue to go on and on about praising a stay with your hotel. It was good, but it was what I was hoping for.
We had a great stay for the night. Our elderly parents were traveling with us and I appreciated them being placed next door to us. Had a wonderful breakfast of scrambled eggs, link sausage, French toast, broasted potatoes and all the other breakfast goodies. Great location and very clean. Will definitely stay when in town again.
My wife and I decided to spend the night in the city after attending a funeral. We have stayed in very few Best Westerns over the years so we were not as familiar with them. This location was fantastic for us. It was very quiet and the room, though small, was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very professional as well as courteous. The breakfast area was wonderful and the food was good. A nice place to stay. When we visit the area again, we will plan to reserve with them.
I am a traveler that probably relies on reviews too much for hotels and restaurants in areas I'm visiting either for pleasure or business . I want the best value for my money . Staying in Louisville for two nights for the first time , I exhausted a long list of hotels , trying to find something around a hundred dollars a night with good reviews . We decided to try this Best Western because we were tired and it was in a good area . Front desk staff was very nice and accommodating at check in , gave us a double bed room on the 5th floor , it was very quiet , far enough away from the main road but still close to the interstate . Very close to a Walmart where we were able to have a prescription transferred from home that my husband needed . Good continental breakfast , although I only ate cereal and juice , they had a good selection of other breakfast foods . The orange juice was cold and very good . Every staff member we encounter was nice and helpful and the room was clean and large . Bed was comfortable and I got cold enough that I had to throw an extra blanket over myself . That's a good thing ! Quiet , cool , clean , free convenient parking . All for 84.00 a night for a double room . What more can a person ask for ? I will visit again if I am back in Louisville . Clean and nice with friendly people. Nothing more can be said. Must come up with 200 characters so I will add the beds were very comfy and the rooms smelled good. The pool was nice. 200 characters minimum is a pain! Just stay there it's nice!
A good, clean hotel at a fair price - nothing to complain about here. The location was useful for what I was in town for, and although the hotel is a bit out of the way, it is quiet and easy to access once you know what you are looking for.
I highly recommend this hotel when staying in the Louisville area! The room was excellent and very comfortable. The amenities were excellent and breakfast was hot and delicious. I used the pool and hot tub and was happy to see that the water was not irritating due to so much chemicals to keep it clean.
We have stayed at this hotel three times in the past two years. The first two times were good, but this time the room had a musky, basement odor, probably due to the HVAC leaking condensation onto the carpet. Cobwebs also were present at a couple of places on the walls and the bathroom.
We have 2 dogs and are staying in a typical "pet room" on the first floor with smells, 1 mildew pillow paint marks, and dirty AC filters. One lamp does not work. the place is pretty sad and tired. Staff is friendly. last time we passed by KY we stayed at Holiday Inn express which also takes dogs. more expensive but better amenities.
The 3rd floor smelled like wet dog feet. Our room smelled of old cologne. We went through 3 remotes to no avail. The pool closed at 9pm (my fault - I should have checked but I have never known a hotel pool to close at 9pm). And lastly, no hot water in the morning. The only reason I gave this one star is because it appears there's no option for zero stars.
The property is conveniently located in the Hurstbourne area east of Louisville and is close to local amenities, shopping and restaurants. If you need to be in this end of town on business, it is a good place to rest your bones. The staff is friendly and accommodating but rooms are small and a little dated. It's not the Ritz, but it is clean and convenient. I had a King that was big enough for the bed and a small desk and chair and nothing else. It ranked with one of the smallest king rooms I have had but..I wasn't there for the ambiance. It accomplished what it was intended for, a good nights rest at a reasonable price. I will book a 5 star when I feel the need to be pampered, this was fine for a night on the road. One small issue was very slow wi-fi-although, this could have simply been the result of an over abundance of surfers and few workers!
I recommend a change in the way business is conducted. The gym was constantly out of towels. The treadmill key was hard to get a hold of to work out on and cause a hassle to get. The other treadmill was out of commission and the exercise bike pedal was off and could not be used. The breakfast constantly had the same things every day and should have a change in their menu. The parking lot was overcrowded with labor workers and their trucks recommend they are staged in one central area. When brought this to the attention of the manager the response was their practice was because of history with guest occupying the hotel and some of the unfortunate accidents that occur in the place. I don't want the history to cause the future guest to have to endure accidents from last guest stays. The hotel has smell of mildew on the ground floor and is in need of some humidifier and cooling the area down. Also, if the gym is not available to accommodate the guest I recommend maybe having a partnership with an outside gym to be used if necessary, which I have seen and used also. No channel lineup for extra channels to know what is upcoming as a TV guide. Insufficient lighting for areas of the room.
We stayed here for 2 nights..with our motorcycles since BW is HOG friendly. The staff here is nice but extremely understaffed. The desk person...these is only 1 on at a time...leaves a sign that they will be back when addressing issues. We were in a king suite with 3 people and only recd 2 towels. We had to ask for extra pillows but that was a task bc the desk person had to locate them. Breakfast was till 9.30 and by 9.06 all the bread was gone...the frig was empty ...One coffee pot gone...and no one to ask for help. No one attends to the self service coffee..we had to keep refilling the sugar and creamer...after we found it.. The computer is on a desk in the lobby so you can't work quietly and there is no washer and dryer As a HOG it was even worse bc we always get a microfiber rag and even sometime a goody bag...for our bikes. But when I asked the desk girl she gave me a paper towel..and yes I was clear. Can I get a towel to use for the motorcycle and she handed me a piece of paper towel. By far not the newest but all in all very surprising for that part of town.
Good location, close to anything one would need. only complaint was many areas dated. My room was the worst, I should have moved to another hotel in the area; they are many close by. Breakfast was fair, had same hot food menu each day, it had a good selection of items.
I'm from tenn everyone very friendly and helpful best place I've every stayed at and I work for wyndham's group this place had us beat hands down even the town was more friendly than tenn I took my grandkids there on vacation and they loved the place
At first when we walked into the lobby, we thought this building would be one of the nicer Best Western's. But after entering our room, we noticed that it was more accurate to say it was on older hotel trying to look renovated. The room was spacious (sink outside of the bathroom which is nice for getting ready but a bit unsanitary). We didn't try the pool. Beds were comfortable. The AC was loud and freezes the person/people closest to it before the other half of the room cools down. The breakfast was ok. We arrived at 9:00 and it was to close at 9:30. Many of the items were gone and were not restocked. It was typical fare. The hotel was easy to find and close to good restaurants and Walmart, though the location is a bit far from Kentucky Kingdom, which is why we were in Louisville. Before returning here, I would do more research to see if I could find something newer/better.
Understaffed frontdesk. Requested 2 nights but had to go back to front desk to get second night. Gave AARP card. No discount given nor was I told whether it was accepted. Room was not cleaned. When asked at checkout if there were prblem, clerk acted like "oh well" Breakfast was good.
I came into Louisville for a business conference with two other colleagues. The reservation was under my name, but at the last minute I became delayed a full day so I was worried about leaving my colleagues stranded without a room. Mary at the front desk was unbelievably helpful with getting my colleagues squared away and basically saved our weekend from falling apart! The room was clean and the breakfast is a step up from many other Best Westerns at which I've stayed. I'll be staying here next time I roll through Louisville for sure.
Nice room but the bed was not comfy and the pull out sofa was not comfy at all. Our son felt springs all night and he said it kept him from sleeping well. Not sure that we would pay almost $200 again for one nights stay.
We had our suite in the 5th floor. Overall experience was great. No issues, everything in working order. It was Clean. Great lighting. The only thing that I can say was that the sofa bed was not very comfortable, but hey its a sofa bed, cant expect more.
The bed seemed hastily made and the sheets were dirty and had hair on them as well as little bits of dirt!!! The housekeeping of this place should fired along with their manager as the other reviews are also of the same complaints about the state of the beds. Disgusting. Where is the $100 you spend for a room going really? Cheap and filthy.
There was BLOOD all over the sheets of the bed that my children and I slept in. The manager on duty was more than accommodating by quickly taking care of our room charge but than was later told that he would loose his job if he did not charge us for the room. He gave us 50% off and I was told that I would receive 5000 Best Western points but as of today have not received them. The manager has yet to call me regarding this matter and I was told by the corporate office that he replied to them stating that he felt he had done more than enough for us. ARE YOU KIDDING ME THERE WAS BLOOD ALL OVER OUR SHEETS!!!! There was also ants throughout our room and hair in our bed that I honestly just looked past until of course I seen the blood.
The location to Kentucky Kingdom is quite a distance. You need a smart phone to find your way around.. The receptionist was arguing with guest in the lobby. The door lock on one of my rooms did not work. You could only lock the from the inside. After find out they offer to swith rooms but they knew the lock was broke before they put me in the room.No discount offered for my inconvenience. If your are going to Kentucky Kingdom I would try to stay a little closer.
The hotel seems to have gone a renovation but it looks only partially done. I had medical equipment in my room so asked for no housekeeping. When we returned for the day it was difficult to get towels, even though the day shift said there would be no problems getting whatever we needed. The evening desk clerk seemed very upset at having to find towels. The day shift was very accomodating as was the person I talked to the first evening. We did not use the pool. Really enjoyed the hot breakfast. The staff was very attentive and refilled things promptly. For the price it was an acceptable hotel.
The day shift front desk staff was efficient, courteous, and friendly. The night shift front desk staff was good but not friendly. The breakfast and the assigned staff were great. The room was clean and spacious than the other Best Western hotels. The hotel lobby was amazing. The internet was really bad as it was down despite the good weather. We could understand if there were thunderstorm and heavy rains. The 3 fitness machines were out of service (treadmill and stationary bike). Drinking water in the pool and telephone were not available. Shower handle to turn it on was high.
I stayed in this hotel for 10 nights in late June 2016. My experience was fantastic. The rooms were clean and the customer service was amazing. I spoke to the general manager about a small concern and it was addressed immediately and professionally. This is my hotel of choice in Louisville.
very clean hotel and friendly workers, had pool and work out equipment. The bed was not so good but had many pillows and warm blankets..the water pressure was awesome me and two others were able to take showers and use bathroom all the same hour with no issue.
The GPS directions to find this hotel are misleading as they have you turn the opposite direction you need to on Bunson. While the price is very reasonable, the location is difficult to get to. There are a great number of fast food and other restaurants in the neighborhood. Recommend Jason's Deli for salad bar.
Staff was friendly and room was comfortable. We liked the layout. The computer and refrigerator are was off in a cove. The woman at the desk at check in was very friendly and helpful to us. We will definitely stay here again.
To all my friends who are on the road most of the time if you are in this town do stay at this location, I am positive that you will enjoy the stay and the hospitality with the smiling staff on the front desk. ENJOY.
No maintenance personnel on duty at night, I was told, when the door between our two rooms in our suite wouldn't open. I went to the desk to get someone to open the "locked" door. With 4 children in my care, 3 in one room and 1 in the other I needed to have the door opened. I was told I had to wait till morning when maintenance came in. I said that was not an option!!! I want the door opened tonight. The front desk personnel handed me a screwdriver. That's when I began to get angry. Eventually he did come up to the room to pry the door open, but he definitely was not happy about it. Besides that incident, everything else was average for an overnight stay.
very clean hotel and rooms. pleasant staff. super room for the price! Felt very safe and is near an industrial office park so in the evening traffice was not a problem. right off of the interstate and easy to get to.
This is a nice Hotel but its parking area for check in needs to be improved. It has great eating places within walking distance and there's even a Walmart right beside it. The room was clean and very nice.
I travel for work all the time. Needless to say I have frequented my fare share of hotels. This by far is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I will start with the basics. The hotel has a very odd parking lot structure and limited parking spaces. The interior of the hotel is older and ran down. Their is a moldy smell to the entire building. Our first room had a unique smell of sweaty feet. The sheets were dirty with bodily fluids which I don't care to imagine where they came from. When we informed the front desk they told us that we would have to come pick up our own sheets from the front counter as they had no help. We also found bed bugs later that night on both queen mattresses. When we informed the front desk he told us that they were lady bugs. That they have a bad lady bug problem. He then demanded that he see them for himself before any action would be taken. He instalty realized that they were in fact bed bugs. He did not apologize or seem empathetic one bit. He simply asked us to collect our things and meet him at the front counter. He told us to be quite about the situation and not to discuss it in front of other guests as it would make them look bad. We asked him about the smell in the room as well. His reply was that each maid had thier own way of cleaning. That some like to use scented cleaners or leave an aroma in each room. The next room was a major improvement as the smell was not as noticeable, and it appeared to be bed bug free. My company had rented multiple rooms as we were there for a convention. We shipped a few boxes to the hotel to hold for our arrival. They gave us some elses packages first. Then they argued with us when we tried to give them back saying they were not ours. The older lady at the desk was extremely rude and not helpful in any way. When we asked if we had packages she replied I think so. When we asked if she could verify, she simply said no. So we came back later that night to try again with a different employee. He said that he couldnt access the packages and that only his manager had the key to the office. He told us that we would have to wait, but he didnt know when his manager would be back the next day. Extremely unhelpful all around. The staff was rude and unprofessional. The hotel accomodations were the worst i have seen through all my travels. I recommend that no one ever attempt a stay at this facility.
Staff was very friendly, went out of their way to see we had a pleasant stay. Stayed during a holiday So the Manager went out of his way to see our needs were met, I would definitely stay her again. This trip was for business but I plan to bring my family back to enjoy the sights.
I was for one night in the BW Lousville East. The hotel itself is ok. When I arrived, the woman at the desk was unfriendly, no smile, no welcome. When I asked for the internet code answer was "it is written there". I felt, I am a burden... The room etc was good, but the bathroom was not clean - the floor in front of the toilet was dirty. At the next morning I left very early, before breakfast was ready. Usually I got always the offer to drink a juice and take some fruits. Not here.
For $89/night our expectations weren't high, but fresh paint can only do so much to spruce up an older hotel room. Pluses: Room was clean and quiet and had a refrigerator and microwave. Staff was friendly and helpful. But the small king room was tight on space with the sink/vanity in the bedroom and the bed too close to the air conditioner. The bathroom fan was annoyingly noisy. Some towels were loofah rough. Some were threadbare. For an overnight stay on a road trip it was adequate, and we would probably stay again.
We booked this hotel based on reviews. Booked 2 rooms for a total of 6 people. 2 Queen Beds in each. Got there, as we were checking in, the lady checking us in was very kind. But a guy comes up behind her and demands to know how many people we have. I was honestly taken aback by his attitude. The nice check in lady was trying to explain to him we had 2 rooms but he kept interrupting her and escalating with me. When I got upset he actually said, "We have to know how many people are in a room due to pool capacity." Honest to goodness he tried to say he was only asking because of their flipping teeny tiny pool we had no intention of using in the first place. When I called Shenanigans on that, he finally drew breath to understand we had 2 rooms and clearly weren't trying to pull a "pool stealing fast one". Total jerk. Checked in, booked our rooms together, requested to be together and one room was on floor 2 and one of floor 5. That also was not acceptable. We went to our floor 2 room, it smelled like mildew, moldy. Bad. A/C made some kind of weird clicking noise the entire time we were there. Couldn't sleep well due to it. Every time it rained it sounded like tiny nails being driven in the window. The floor 5 room had insane amounts of ladybugs in it. We captured over 20 of them. The pool reeked of over chlorination. When we checked out, desk guy asked how our stay was. I said, "Don't ask if you don't want to know the truth." He responded, "Okay, see you later." Because that is exactly the level of care they have. Breakfast barely passable, we decided to go out for breakfast after the first day.
Rooms and hotel were very clean, breakfast was good, and staff were very pleasant, close to all the restaurants and stores. I would choose this hotel to stay again if i was to go back to Louisville Kentucky
The hotel was a little further away from the convention, but the stay and the accommodations were perfect. There were 4 of us, we had 2 queens which was also perfect. We weren't in the room much due to the convention, but the bathroom was clean and very functional as well as the rest of the amenities. Breakfast was excellent and the pool/hot tub was perfect after walking 40 acres of convention space. :)
The Housekeeping staff is very honest, you must note any money left as a tip as such. The Hotel smelled like old cigar or wet dog. The rooms are small and the bathroom sink is in the room. The bathroom fan and A/C are very loud. Overall it is a bit pricey but clean.
clean and friendly needs a remodel but a good value. breakfast was not great but lady was nice. ice on 1st and 3rd floor only. they let us in the room early which was nice. no fridge in room. all in all decent
This hotel was a good place to stay for our Derby trip. The location was easy to find and near plenty of dining selections. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. This hotel offered everything we needed for our stay and we would definitely consider staying here again.
Nothing particularly special but it is clean and comfortable. We are here for the Derby and we did get a gift bag. Of note too is the fact that I was able to make a reservation here 1 week before the Derby and it is only 14 miles from Churchhill Downs.
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. All the staff were nice and very friendly. Nice hot breakfast with lots of choices. indoor pool was great. Hotel seemed to be in a nice safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants closeby. Will definitely stay here again.
I sent workers to pick up merchandise for me in Louisville. I made reservations, called the hotel three times, they never answered. H ad to call corporate customer service, gave the names of the people and all CC info. Paid in advance, yet they still gave the people problems, didn't want to give them the room. What? is wrong with your staff.?
The hotel had a decent breakfast. Very close to our volleyball tournament. Many restaurants and shopping next door. The front desk people were nice. Parking is bad, not many spaces but there was several construction projects going on.
Booked through a 3rd party. When I came to check-in, it took me 20 minutes to even get into my room because I had to prove to the Front Desk I wasn't a local, because apparently this hotel charges a $250 deposit for locals due to prostitution and drugs. I had moved to California in March of 2015, but hadn't gotten my California ID yet, so I only had my Kentucky ID to show. I tried giving them my boyfriend's ID, which was a California ID, but they said it didn't count since it was under my name. I had to provide my Best Western information, and they informed me they would contact the property I work at in California to verify I actually worked there, come to find out they never did. The room was incredibly small, and the bathroom was outdated. I work in a Best Western, so I know of the policies and the regulations that we have to follow, but this was a difficult check-in and I could tell the guy behind the counter was trying to help me the best he could. Definitely wouldn't pay more than $100 for the room we got, seeing as we had a hard time trying to even walk around our room without tripping on our luggage or the desk/dresser. Had it not been just me and my boyfriend I would've been a little more upset, a family could definitely not fit in this room.
The hotel was convenient to the conference location; room was clean and quiet, there were teens on the same floor, but on the other end of the hallway; breakfast included hot items and was well prepared and stocked.
A clean hotel reasonably price. Good breakfast and close to evening amenities. Lots of parking. Short walk or drive to all you would need. Would stay again. No surprises. Staff calm and attentive. Didn't notice till leaving they were having construction done .
As of this review date, this is a dated hotel. The exterior and lobby look clean but our room was old and dated. They say the bathrooms are all being updated but we did not get one of those rooms (nor did the front desk staff know which ones were renovated because we asked to switch). The bedding and bed though were surprisingly comfortable. Note, we picked this hotel for the indoor pool and free breakfast. We could not use either because the pool closes promptly at 9 pm and on the weekend breakfast was not served until 7 am. It is right off the expressway though and there are lots of retail and restaurants close.
Slow elevator, small pool. Adequate breakfast, the staff made sure that everyone had enough to eat. Very clean (common areas as well as rooms). Nice incentive with the free Wi-Fi. The lady at check in was very nice, the morning front desk agent did not acknowledge me until AFTER she got off the phone.
Laundry service would be a great advantage to business travelers. Found all staff to be very polite and helpful. The area where we stay in Louisville, Kentucky was very nice and close to the facility where the convention was.
I have been trying to get in contact with the manager for over a month. Every time I call I either just missed him by 20 minutes or he'll be back in an hour or two but then when I call back in an hour or two he still out still have not heard a response been over a month and I was billed for $100. That was not refunded. There's only one guy at the front desk who helps me everyone else either does not know any other phone numbers or when the manager Will be in or apparently how to take a note. Is there even a manager for this location. I'll suggest anyone not to stay at this location because if you have any problems it seems like no one will know how to handle them.
Hotel was easy stop off the road and a good rate. Lobby and breakfast area were clean. Check-in was very slow as only had one desk clerk working. Room was dated and the toilet seat was loose but over all the room was clean and comfortable. What you would expected for this price range of hotel. Breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage, french toast and the other expected breakfast items.
construction all around room breakfast was horrible will never stay at this hotel I even conplan to the front dest twice about the noise around my room they did nothing I will not stay at abest western hotel again the buffet was a joke scramble eggs ,French toast sausage links that were not even fit ti feed my dog had better luck at the romanda hotels would advise people to saty away fron the best western the price too high for the treatment and the condation of the place
Room smelled like smoke and the pool water was extremely cold. The breakfast was great however I will not be back. Staff friendly, hotel looks very nice but customer rooms should be top priority in my opinion.
Our team mom booked this hotel as we were in town for a volleyball tournament. It was musty and old and was filled with questionable looking men when we first arrived. The towels were rough, the rooms run down and the tv channel situation was ridiculous. Each channel had a range of numbers you had to search to find what you were looking for. Never found any common channel I looked for. Many channels were just blacked out. Had we not been with our team we would not have stayed all night at this location. Especially for the price we paid - $137/night. Not worth it to feel that uncomfortable.
For the price, not very nice. Carpets dirty both in hall (from workers) and in room (stains). very small bathroom with bad water pressure. Pool large but water not very warm. Blanket on bed old- entire bed seemed old and worn, not very comfortable. Would not stay here again.
The beds and pillows were terrible. ..but the plus the hotel was clean, dog friendly and the staff was very nice Pool was freezing and hot tub was almost to hot. It was nice that we were on the 1st floor with the dog. .only problem was to keep the dog quiet being on the 1st floor. .lol
The staff was helpful, friendly and wanted my stay to be the best possible......The room was very clean and well maintained with plenty of towels, washcloths, and coffee. The bed was comfortable and the lighting was great at the desk for the work I need to do. There were numerous plug-INS for my computer and other electronic devices. Wi-Fi was great! Thanks for making my stay like home. I will stay at this hotel my next trip through Louisville Kentucky....
Clean room, convenient location, excellent complimentary breakfast, nice pool and Jacuzzi. Bathroom lighting was dim, but overall a good value. But except for the good fortune that another guest had left a down-grade room unexpectedly moments before our arrival, it could have been disastrous. The cheerful check-in clerk asked for the number in my party. Having noticed the sign on the wall saying failure to inform of pets would incur a $500 fine, I enumerated the four of us including my dog just in case, even though I had included the pet when talking to the Expedia representative when making the reservation. The formerly cheerful clerk at that point turned dour: "We have no pet-friendly rooms left." I definitely had explained about the dog during reservation time, and the Expedia person, despite having insufficient English language skills for a customer service job requiring detailed telephone interaction in English, definitely understood because he in turn informed me of, and charged me for, an extra $10/per day pet fee and a $250 pet damage deposit. In the good old days, the concierge would find a nearby room on the double. Not so here. It was apparently in their view no problem to turn a family out in the street to search for accommodations. At night. After ten hours travel. In an unfamiliar city. And they didn't think it was a problem to still charge me several hundred dollars for the room even had the hotel not fortunately had a last minute unexpected open room!
Traveling north from Florida, stayed one evening. Very quiet place although fully booked. Comfy bed with lots of pillows. Warm breakfast in the morning. Made reservations the night before on Priceline. Pool was warm and exercise room was very clean too. Easy return access to interstate 65.
Was in town for a week for a convention. The hotel is on the east side of town in a nice area but a little back from the main road. There are many places to shop and eat in the immediate vicinity. Small front desk but good service. Room was suitable, bed comfortable and pillows as well. Room was clean. Bathroom was small and the fan was rubbing against the housing so was loud and annoying so that is really the only complaint. Breakfast was standard fare but was well stocked and the service was good. Not top of the line but good price for a decent room.
This was by far the best value and quality stay I have experienced in the Louisville area, in a multitude of trips and different chains- They were remodeling during my stay, but not to the level of a disturbance, and this shows a continuing improvements to this location
This is a very clean and friendly hotel. The breakfast was good. The beds were nice, had no trouble sleeping. I would stay here again. Close to lots of great restaurants. If you get bored, lots of malls close by.
Hotel was clean, and very convenient for my business needs. Staff did not seemed ambivalent with regard to my stay. I don't like the pool hours. It would be good to wake up and swim before starting the day and if you work all day then have dinner the pool is closed and you cannot relax before going to bed.
I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. Staff at check in and check out were very nice. Breakfast was a good assortment of hot and cold foods and staff was very efficient. Room was spacious, had a fridge & microwave, bed was comfy.
My boyfriend and I booked this room for a night bc he was playing a gig downtown Louisville. COMPLETELY PAID IN FULL. On the hwy my car broke down, so I was having trouble getting there. He went to check in and the witch, Karen, behind the counter wouldn't let him pick the key up bc she said he didn't have the credit card that was used to purchase it. I did. I immediately called and said, yes, I authorized him to get the key. She still said no. I sent him the confirmation email from Best Western that states NO WHERE you have to have the CC used. Only a valid credit card, which he did. She kept saying, this is their policy. This was Valentines weekend, so everywhere was booked and he had nowhere to go. So I then called the 800 number and spoke to a supervisor there, actually several, all saying she was incorrect. This was not the policy, and called her themselves. She still said no. She was like the troll under the bridge not letting anyone pass. All the 800 number could do was recommend I call and escalate this in the morning as it was now midnight. This hotel stole my money, let the hotel go empty and managed to make a crappy day even worse. Thanks Best Western. Oh and Karen, I'm not through with you yet. I'll be sure to file as formal of a complaint against you as I can. Beware... This Best Western has policies you aren't told of when booking and screws you bc of it. What else aren't they telling you?
i stayed here 2 nights on my trip, it was pretty good, shower was great , hot water, breakfast was decent. all in all a good hotel to stay when you're in town. the staff was perfect , fast , gave me my room which was renewed and really clean, fast.
Had to make an unexpected stop in Louisville while on my road trip. The staff at the front desk were really friendly and helpful. The room included all the amenities you would expect, including free wireless internet, and provided a very comfortable bed. However, I had a family staying on the same floor as I was and I could clearly hear their noise whenever their kids were going in and out of their room.
Very nice place. Great value for money. Good breakfast, indoor pool, nice clean rooms. Would definitely recommend for everyone. Lots of restaurants closeby, some even in walking distance. Very safe area of town.
I have celiacs disease so I have to be glutin free. I called ahead and they said there was a hot breakfast with eggs and sausage. In the mourning there was just a cold breakfast which I could not eat.They offered no alternative or no credit for breakfast elsewhere. Very disappointed.
Third consecutive overnighter transiting south/north. Location difficult to find without GPS. No food services nearby biggest shortfall. Freshly made breakfast - prepared to order - a large plus. Had to leave prior to 6:30 start time this trip but enjoyed service on previous stops
It was a clean hotel with some nice amenities, like wifi that actually worked in my room. I was also shocked to see they had a indoor pool and hot tub that was nice with a workout room (small but is useful to work up a sweat) Plenty of towels in the pool area, which was nice. The breakfast was what really blew my mind, they had a full breakfast with more options that I've seen in a long time. The staff was friendly. This was a great stay for my wife and I with a affordable price which is strange cause those two usually don't go together. A+!
Really enjoyed my stay at here. Great staff, great breakfast, kids enjoyed the heated pool and myself and my husband enjoyed the hot tub. Good hotel for families, clean, big comfortable rooms, very comfortable beds.
I am so thankful for your staff. They were AMAZING! We enjoyed our stay and loved playing in the pool. While the hotel is in the middle of some remodeling of some sort, the service more than made up for the appearance.
We brought our dog with us and we double checked to make sure how much it was and was told one price and giving another when we got there. The room smelt bad, and the towel had no fluff to them. The breakfast was great, lots of options and was overall good.
My 3rd stay at this hotel and everything was great a usual. Hotel is undergoing some renovation but did not cause any disturbance during my stay. Breakfast was very nice and rooms were clean and comfortable.
I checked in super late, basically looking for a few hours of sleep before I hit the road again. The women at check out was very pleasant and polite. The hotel is in the middle of some remodels so it's a bit messy right how. The room I stayed in was on the second floor at the end of the hallway. It was neat & the bed was decent. The bathroom was a little old and outdated and needed a good cleaning, but for the price and the amount of time I stayed it was adequate. The staff was very nice,each and every person that I crossed paths with. I'd stay here again if I find myself in Louisville looking for a quick place to stay.
One of the best stays in our experience. Very good stay. It was close to about anything you needed, wanted or could afford. It did not have the "big Hotel" feel when we left. We would recommend your use of this location, as we will also keep this in mind in our future travels to Louisville.
Our room was very nice and a good deal for the price we paid. I was disappointed with the breakfast - there were no waffles. The pool and hot tub were dirty and cold. The staff was very nice and helpful when asked.
Friendly Staff, clean rooms, comfortable bed, & fast internet. Hotel was under construction but there was no mention of this during booking, that is disappointing & misleading. In room heater was very noisy.
Suites are roomy--I had 2 queen beds in the bedroom and pullout couch in the spacious sitting room; mini fridge and microwave. Rooms are in outdated decor and old/used chairs and couches. There were workers at the hotel and signs saying they are making renovations. Pool and hot tub are both small, but clean. Breakfast is hot (eggs, sausage, french toast) with a few other options (cereal, yogurt, some breads). Overall, clean and good for the price.
We were in Louisville for the FFA convention. We had a room reserved at another hotel by our school and were very disappointed in it. We stayed a few days extra and were very well pleased with this hotel. Great price for all accommodations. Nice pool area, large room, great breakfast buffet offered.
Over all the stay was good, the room was very nice and the bed was comfy. The breakfast bar though wasn't the best. I liked the fact that we had a sitting room and a sleep area. For some reason though the tv in the sleeping area didn't have all the channels that the sitting area had. The lobby area had a very nice smell.
Very musty, asked for another room, Tabitha the oh so kind (not) person behind the counter......wanted to charge another $25 extra to trade rooms! Imagine....$25 for clean air vs moldy air! Very stinky! Don't stay here unless you want to sneeze and be stuffed up all night! Not customer service oriented, offered no assistance! At All!
We only stayed for one night but room was clean, wish they would leave more towels when there is going to be 4 to a room. Also the room was very spacious as we had several people getting ready for a wedding in that room.
The reviews looked good so we chose this hotel. Fine for one night but definitely not in the great location that was described. Room was clean & functional. Front desk staff very friendly. Person in the breakfast room did not even acknowledge me when I said good morning yet had a tip jar sitting on the counter. I find that to be a bit offensive. The hotel offers a free breakfast where I serve myself & dispose of my own trash. Probably would not stay here again.
We stayed here this past weekend and found it to be a pretty good place. Location was great, lots around to do. The neighborhood is good. I walked from here to the Marriott to attend my business meeting while my family stayed behind and enjoyed swimming and the hot tub. We would for sure stay there again!
We visit Louisville frequently and have stayed at other hotels. This is definitely the best hotel for the price. Lorrie and Carren make you feel right at home and are so helpful. If you are looking for a great hotel for a great price this is it
Lobby and all rooms smelled intensely of smoke, despite insistence that the hotel is 100% smoke-free. We brought runners to stay here before a race and my daughter's suitcase is currently on outside, airing out as it smells like she is a chain smoker. Rooms were also very dusty and out-dated. I could hear clearly what was going on in the next room as well.
I stay here regularly. The staff are amazing and very considerate! The front desk staff are super competent. There is someone at the front desk 24 hours a day, and the lobby remains open 24 his a day. The breakfast is hot and usually buffet style with options for pastries, fruit, yogurt, and cereal. The rooms are stylish, comfortable, and have cable and WiFi. The doors all have peepholes, deadbolts, and the security arm at the top. The TV'S have HDMI ports and the red, white, and yellow ports for attaching devices. They have rooms with Micro/Fridge combos, and some without. The vanity is outside of the bathroom. There are nice and loud exhaust fans in the bathroom for added privacy. Some of the rooms the bathroom fan is on a single switch with the light, and some have a separate switch for the light and fan. The ac gets nice and cool. Haven't had need for the heat just yet. Parking at the front of the hotel is limited, but there is plenty of parking behind it. The pool is indoor, open til 9pm, and nice and warm, and the hot tub is very very warm. The fitness center includes a treadmill, stair climber, and a weight training machine. Pets are allowed on the 1st floor only. All of the rooms are non-smoking. There is a single elevator located in the center of the hallways with emergency stairs being on the ends of the halls. There are additional bathrooms just off the lobby. There is a computer and printer in the lobby as well for free use. There is a Walmart, Applebee's, O'Charlies, Staple's, Penn Station, Dollar Tree, Enterprise rentals, Subway, DQ, Wendy's, and plenty of other businesses nearby. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a moderately priced hotel. I will continue to stay here when the need arises!
