"Comfortable clean stay"
Extremely clean - Carmen was a wonderful husband housekeeper. Delicious full breakfast. Kind helpful staff! Walkable to downtown and to the beaches. All in all a pleasant experience and would highly recommend.

"Hidden prices!"
Have to pay for parking in garage $23 each night. Price hidden on website you have to find it towards the end. Also, I found an eyelash in my bathroom on the floor! Management was rude, you can park on the street with a parking meter if you can find a space and risk car being broken into.

"Good, but with some issues"
The overall hotel experience was great, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was kept very clean. The free breakfast was an excellent addition as well. The Issue I had though was the parking, the parking garage does not have enough spaces to handle the hotel at high capacity, and at $23 a day, its honestly a ripoff. I went for Anime Los Angeles convention, and out of the 4 nights I stayed, I was unable to find parking for 2, but was still charged. So, in conclusion, it's a great hotel, and I recommend it, but I do not advise staying here when a major event is happening nearby.
"Decent Hotel but Noisy"
Had a very polite man at the front desk who offered a quick and efficient check in. We were on a second floor balcony room, which was clean and functional but the only negative was the people partying in street until very late who disturbed our sleep. One guy even had an accordion and I was a little too sketched to verbally engage them from the 2nd floor balcony so flicked our lights on and off repeatedly which I think helped them move along. Assume this was a one odd thing and not the hotels fault really as I never did call front desk to deal with it. Convenient location and short Lyft ride to cruise port which we used the following day and a nice variety of food at the breakfast and good wifi.
"Comfy & cozy"
I stayed here with my kids so we could go I sit the aquarium. They enjoyed the waffles, eggs and bacon every morning. I liked the comfy beds. We will definitely be staying there next time we come back to town.
"Rigid"
I came in super late and needed a late checkout so I could get some rest. They offered half hour and if you order doordash they make you come down for it in a sketchy tiny elevator. Room was clean and it was a quiet experience but I didn't feel like they cared about me and that's important (especially for the price I paid).
"Amazing Staff & Amazing Stay"
This hotel was a great place to stay for the evening. The is very clean and updated. The staff at this hotel are amazing. I mistakenly left my phone in the room, and the staff treated my property like it was theirs. The stay at this hotel comes with a complimentary breakfast. If you're taking a cruise out of Long Beach, this is a great place to stay, because the cruise terminal is only 1 mile from the hotel. The Downtown Long Beach area so nice, I will come back to explore the area, and most likely will stay at this hotel again.
"Not a good experience"
Staff not helpful. Reception took forever to answer my call when I called the hotel. Receptionist on duty when I check-in was more interested in talking to his friends than dealing with me. Noisy neighborhood. Can't really blame the hotel for the street traffic at 2am, however, it did disturb my sleep several times. However, I could hear screaming coming from another room at 3am. Small breakfast area, which was very crowded. There's a tiny pool, which would be useless for swimming. There's no hottub.
"Clean and comfortable, but noisy"
Clean comfortable room, with very friendly and helpful staff at check-in. But it was pretty loud. Things I could hear: people talking in the halls, other room doors slamming (and slamming) shut, footsteps upstairs, street noise, and even at one point somebody snoring in the next room over. Bring ear plugs if you're sensitive. I suggest that management adjust the door-pullers on all the room doors -- that alone would fix most of the noise.
"Professional and excellent service"
Impressed with service and room layout. Bed was super comfy. Staff were professional, helpful and friendly. Excellent location. Lots of eateries in the area. And a small supermarket around the corner as well as a Vons on the next block.
"Decent Stay for Decent Rate"
Nothing bad but nothing great happened. Average experience. Room was clean. Long Beach is not the safest location but I felt safe in the hotel. Breakfast was pretty basic and dining room is kind of small but fit the needs.
"Good stay just double check"
My front desk was very kind but very forget full he didn't have the little code we requested and didn't get us our parking pass that we paid for. Thank god we didn't get towed but we did get a warning which shouldnt of happened since we paid! Just make sure and double check you have everything before you leave to your room they won't do it later

Front desk was a delight, greeted us with a smile, seamless transaction and went above and beyond by giving us dinning recommendations. Room felt safe, absolutely clean and fresh. Will be back soon. Keep up the great work.
"Book directly with the hotel."
Good location with a friendly staff. They are doing a lot of renovations. It appears these owners take pride in the product and customer service. My room is clean and well appointed. The breakfast had a variety of options but most importantly to me is that it was very clean. Unfortunately, my assistant booked this room via Expedia. So I was charged for three nights although I only stayed for two due to a missed flight. I wish we would have booked direct. I am sure the owners would have charged me accordingly. Well, that is what I get for not calling the hotel. Lesson learned, never use third party booking companies.
"Safe, Secure, Clean and Comfortable"
We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and recently remodeled. In fact the whole facility was recently remodeled and upgraded.. When first arriving, we actually had to drive around the block a few times since we didn't recognize the outside from the picture on the website!
"Daughter's birthday in Long Beach"
We came to LBC to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We enjoyed our stay at BW Plus, the plethora of restaurants, Sura, Roscoe's, The Nest, Yes Cheese Please, Broadway Pizza and all activities: movies and the beach.
"Great Place"
This place is located right downtown and has the perfect location for everything you would need. Walking distance to beach, restaurants, grocery store, starbucks, pharmacy etc. Staff is extremely helpful and is willing to go above and beyond to meet your needs. Breakfast offered a wide selection and room had fridge and keurig. Great location, great price, great staff.
"Guest Awareness"
Be aware, the place has bed bugs. The manager will deny and invalidate the bites occurred at their hotel and even go to the extent of implying you as the guest could have brought it with you. This was after I took the bed bug to the front desk agent and then sent pictures to the manager via email. The worse of it is that I had a severe reaction to the bites and had to seek medical care which lead to a 7 day medication treatment. In a different review platform, another guest wrote about the same issue, my case is not an isolated incident.

We did have our pest control evaluate and inspect the room and found there were NO bed bugs in the room you had stayed in. "Pleasant surprise"
I was apprehensive at first because I was traveling alone. But this is a very good (if not excellent) place to stay. The security is sound. The parking is underground but it seems safe because there are cameras everywhere. The bed and bedding were very comfortable, bordering on luxury. The shower was good. They were environmentally conscious without being spartan. Best of all was the breakfast. It was a full good quality breakfast with options. I'm a tea drinker and they had the best selection of teas I've seen at a aahotel breakfast. And one last commendation that I admire in anyplace. They had one of the purified water dispensers built into the wall to fill your water bottle. That is such a great tasting water and saves a lot on unnecessary water bottles.

The staff were helpful and professional, the room was spotless, the morning breakfast was delicious, we were surprised at all they had(eggs,bacon,sausage,potatoes,waffles,bagels,toast,coffee,juices,etc) and you couldn't ask for a better location ...walking distance to shops,restaurants, bars,etc!! "Great place to stay"
My sister and I were in town for a cruise and decided to stay close to the terminal. Staying the one night was perfect, especially with COVID pre-boarding cruise requirements. It made things super easy.

"Clean, Satisfactory, Comfortable"
Nothing to complain about. I was a bit disappointed that the television service was only basic network programming... it might have been broadcast antenna service. Virtually nothing worth watching... We had to rent a movie on our iPad to keep our daughter entertained in the evening. It may have mentioned this in the hotel description somewhere, I guess... I might have missed it. The room itself was clean, comfortable, convenient to downtown Long Beach, restaurants, the Aquarium, the Catalina Express, and so on. I'd definitely stay there again.

"Hotel for cruise"
Nice hotel good location within walking distance to shopping and food. Friendly staff very helpful! Stayed there 2 nights before going on a cruise. Would probably stay there again if I was in the area
"Best Hotel in Long Beach"
t was a 5 Star experience in every aspect of my visit there. The Staff was very accomodating and responsive. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. the location is Ideal, within walking distance to several restaurants and shops The parking was convenient and secure. The breakfast was very good and well stocked. My family and I plan on making it our go to place to stay whenever in the area.

The room and hotel were very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was far more than I expected with many food and drink options that were kept fresh all morning. There was fresh fruit infused water stations also available. The staff was friendly and pleasant.

"Horrible service"
My room wasn't readying until after 4, gal in desk services was rude, sheets had stains..didn't enjoy the dogs barking all night from room next door and loud guest..called desk and no answer…needless to say had no sleep
"Just a hotel."
Just a Hotel. Staff are friendly. Hotel is located in a bit of a dead spot in the Long Beach cbd (not that Long Beach is much of a city anyway as it transpires). Few cafes in proximity. Parking is tight and a bit expensive, but that is probably so for all hotels within long beach cbd). The included breakfast is low quality – plastic egg, fatty bacon, sugary juice and cereals – though typical of budget hotels. Hotel is old but very clean. No microwaves in the room. Excellent beds and bathrooms. A bit noisy outside until after 10pm. Breakfast room is wayyyyy too small for the number of guests, everyone was piled in and standing around, this is not good in Covid times. We had a kid near us that coughed for the entire 45 minutes we were there. Eww.
"Excellent Stay prior to Cruise out of Long Beach"
This property is located downtown and is a really nice property. It definitely was a good location to meet our needs prior to the sailing. We spent the day exploring long beach. There are plenty of places close by this property to eat. A Von's grocery store is located around the corner from the property which was also very convenient for purchasing our 1 750mil of wine to take with us on the trip. The room was spacious and clean as we expected. Breakfast was very good for hotel food. There were lots of add ons for oatmeal was delicious. There were plenty of hot options available as well. The staff were very nice and property very clean. The cost of via Uber to the terminal was $64.95 total. A bit pricey but considering the cost of gas I am not completely surprised. However, we would definitely stay here again.

"Charged the wrong rate and front desk person refused to help"
The majority of the staff I interacted with were great, but I was charged the wrong rate when I checked out, and when I brought it up with the guy at the front desk, he said there was nothing he could do. I told him I was supposed to receive the AAA rate, and showed him my card, but he wouldn't do anything. So now I have to file a chargeback with my credit card company, which is going to be a huge hassle.
"Not bad"
Couldn't have been in a better location which is why it's a 4. Can just tell it's a little older. Could use a good deep cleaning. water pressure was very weak. Bed was comfortable enough to get some sleep in. Was just pricier for an average place. If you can spend this much, don't shy away from maybe spending a few extra a night and stay in the Marriott across the street.

Stayed here before cruise. Nice location, cute restaurants nearby and close to harbor. Staff was super friendly and it was very clean! Loved the location and the price. Great little bagel shop nearby. Didnt have breakfast so cannot comment on that.
"Very hard mattress, Go early if you want breakfast"
The hotel itself is nice and a short walking distance from popular restaurants, bars and the beach. The bed is extremely Firm and I do mean EXTREMELY Firm walls to the outside are thin, you can hear the conversations between the locals quite clearly. Breakfast is your basic breakfast, included make your own waffles, Beagles, pastry, Egg, Potato, Beacon, Sausage, Cereal, and oatmeal. Go early, by 8:30am it will be really hard to socially distance yourself from the other hotel guests it reminds me of riding a train in japan. Probably will go back if all the other hotels around is solidly booked, but because of how uncomfortable the bed was, this hotel will be listed towards the bottom of my list.
"Comfortable and Great Customer Service"
This hotel and its staff should be commended. I am pretty much a Best Western expert…as I stay almost exclusively at Best Westerns. I practically lived at this one on and off during a very sad and stressful time in my life (was there in support of an ill family member) and they made me feel so at ease and welcome. I can't say enough good things about the staff. A great big shout out to Akul and Kevin who went above and beyond to make sure I was greeted every time they saw me…and that everything was always just right during my stays. This hotel has it all. Comfortable beds, great breakfast, underground secure parking and a wonderful fresh fruit flavored water in the lobby. I hope that I get to go back and stay there under different circumstances and enjoy this lovely Best Western. Also…try the Long Beach Taco Company across the street. Amazing food and drink.
"wonderful stay in Long Beach"
This hotel is in downtown Long beach. The staff is very cordial, the manager is also quite helpful. This hotel has it's own parking and was offered as a benefit for certain best western members. This was really appreciated since downtown long beach can be difficult to find parking. Breakfast was nice too. The only thing was that the pool was not working and was being repaired when we stayed.

What a great Best Western! I'm a rewards member (elite status) and really appreciated the extras. Great room, decent breakfast and wonderful staff. Following safe Covid protocol was important to me and they did a great job. I'll be staying here again. Really appreciated Alex at the front desk the first night I was there. She was great.

The Best Western plus hotel in Long Beach is so nice and I love the rooms I have not been at the Best Western Plus since the virus came out 1 and a half year ago. I been here 2 times now I just miss the breakfast area.

This hotel is a great place to stay while in Long Beach, close to everything. The rooms are clean and comfy. The staff is top notch. No problems during my stay. Always stay here when I'm in town. They have onsite parking which is a bonus.

Great location to down town LBC action! We enjoyed our stay walked over to our friends place and had a great meal out on the roof top of their place, walked back to hotel after midnight no issues nor Creepers near by!

The room was exactly as the pictures on the website.. I was skeptical due to previous stays at other hotels. Very friendly staff, great location, only blocks from the beach and good eating establishments.

We walked from the Catalina Express Ferry port and had no issues getting here. The hotel was very nice and very clean. It had very comfortable beds that we crashed into almost immediately after getting there. The hotel is in a great location and as we explored the next day. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
"Best customer service & very clean & updated hotel "
Our stay was great! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The hotel was very clean and secure. Room was updated and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Very peaceful and quiet. We had a grab and go breakfast the following day at checkout. The location is perfect and in the middle of many restaurants, bars and shops. We will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to everyone. A huge thank you to the staff.

"Excellent place"
best place lives up to its name, I more than highly recomend it. Quality, elegance for the price can not be matched. It is in the heart of the city close to the ocean, and all the fine sites and local attractionws this beautiful city offers.

"Not worth the money"
My family and I look to stay at Bestwestern hotels when we travel. We have stayed at the Bestwestern Long Beach Convention center many times. They are under new management and have lost their customers service with the new management. I will not stay at that property again and would not recommend it to anyone. There is nicer places to stay in Long Beach for better prices

Hello Mr. Edward Gonzales, thank you so much for leaving us a review on TripAdvisor - mostly so that I can bring clarity to you, this review, and for any of those who read this. As per our conversation, while you stayed with us you had a price match rate inquiry pertaining to your booked rooms. With any price matching request, there are certain rules and guidelines we must follow. This property is constantly competitive when it comes to local or listed rates so that guests can book directly with us instead of shopping online through many different 3rd party companies (i.e Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Priceline). But not every rate or price listed with these other companies fit our guidelines. With price matching requests, we always ask for a screenshot or an email sent to us with that price listing. You did provide us with this screenshot but the issue was the fact that this screenshot of prices did not have corresponding dates. It is extremely difficult to identify a price for a particular date/day/time frame when the actual dates are not shown. When I asked for further information about the dates, you failed to provide an open dialogue for this conversation and kept talking over me. Additionally, that exact same screenshot you provided stated clearly that "Expedia Rewards Points applied" which was why the rate amount you requested didn't follow our guidelines either. Expedia Rewards rates are specially curated for those in Expedia's membership and can not be price matched. With no dates to reference and clearly having Expedia Rewards points applied to your Expedia rates, we weren't able to fulfill your price match request. That obviously made you disappointed but, be truly disappointed in the fact that you didn't even allow me space or dialogue to properly advise or educate you on our policies. In my research of your previous stays, you've actually done this exact same process a few times when providing screenshots with "no dates" or only wanting the prices you want to pay. We can be competitive in our rates but we can't compromise our rates to be significantly too low especially rates that don't fit our guidelines. We are truly sorry you were disappointed by this decision that denied an Expedia member rate but you don't need to stretch the truth by adding false information about your experience with sleep quality, service, cleanliness, and rooms. Before our conversation in denying your price match request, you elaborated on how you and your family enjoyed our property, location, cleanliness, and staff. You can truthfully rate the "value" based on your opinion, but you are clearly spreading your displeasure to other categories of our hotel that do not pertain to this situation. In conclusion, we are sorry we didn't meet your expectations during your most recent stay with us. The same can be said of your conversation style of being short with someone who is willing to educate and advise you about the hotel procedures on room rates. "Check - In Process Was The Absolute Worst."
I came to the hotel around 10 am Because I called prior and asked Aryalia /BW Employee over the phone if early check in was possible since I drove from San Diego to Long Beach and needed a room earlier than 3 pm. She states yes their were rooms available. I show up and she tells me nothing is open and she would call back at 12:30 to let me know when to down back. Waited till 2:30 and Lisa another BW Employee tells me it's based on a first come basis and I never got a phone call. This whole process took astronomically long and I don't think I would ever stay at this hotel again based on the slow process of checking in. Please assist with better training and procedures. Good Afternoon Mr. Clifton, thank you for your feedback and review. Sorry, we didn't meet your expectations when it came to your early arrival request. Our guaranteed check-in time every day is anytime after 3 pm. We try to do our best with early check-in requests but they are linked with our guests who have to check out at 11 am. Only after our guests' vacant rooms can our staff start getting rooms fully cleaned & ready. Looking at your reservation history (stay was actually on Sunday 3/21 - 3/22 and not 4/21 - 4/22 as you incorrectly indicated in this review) you inquired Sunday 3/21 morning for that early arrival. We were sold out Saturday night of 3/20 and had no rooms clean, available, or ready for that morning. When you inquired about this, it was only over the phone and not physically at the hotel - we only see a phone call registered regarding this reservation. Our staff indicated the fact, over the phone, that we were sold out Saturday 3/20 which is why we didn't have any rooms available at 10 am. With any and all requests at a hotel, they are simply requests - not a guarantee. We do charge an early check-in fee for those guests who do check-in before 3 pm (before 6 am to 12:30 pm an early check-in fee is associated). This particular Sunday 3/21, a few other guests requested early check-in as well and were all told the same thing you were told that no rooms are currently available. Our staff indicated to you, over the phone, that they could potentially update you around or after 12:30 pm if housekeeping has an updated list of rooms that could be ready. We apologize for any inconvenience caused due to a busy Sunday morning but I hope I could shed some clarity on this situation and provide you with our hotel policies/procedures. "My parents loved the hotel"
My parents were attending a funeral in the Long Beach area. Though I've been to Long Beach, I wasn't familiar with the downtown area. I booked them this specific hotel because of it's proximity to the funeral home and because Best Westerns have never let us down. My parents loved the hotel, they said it was very clean and the area was nice. Close to restaurants and stores.

"Charged for parking without prior notice"
Awesome place to stay with the exception of a $20 parking fee which we were not told about in advance! Would not recommend this facility because of this issue. We stayed in several Best Westerns in our week long driving trip around Southern California and this was the only place that charged a parking fee.

Thank you for giving us feedback regarding our hotel. Our parking fee is $19 per night with unlimited in and out privileges with the parking structure. Parking is a premium here in Long Beach especially since our location is so close to the Convention Center, restaurants, bars, and beaches. There are city parking garages that offer day rates or street parking that have designated time restrictions due to the street meters. Many of these options don't have the convenience of having a vehicle in an underground parking structure. In comparison to many other properties in this area, our parking fee is competitive for the region. Hope this clarifies this fee and shows the value it holds. Parking is a common expense with many hotels that are located in LA, Orange County, SF, San Diego, and many other great cities in Southern California. Stay safe & healthy.

"Clean and good location"
Clean room, great location to the beach and many restaurants. Front desk staff were very helpful and as a Platinum member, made me feel like one. Area is within walking distance to the convention center, Alamitos beach and several food establishments, from fancy to casual. Room was well maintained and as advertised.

"The Most Horrific Experience for my son and I"
If I could rate no stars I would. We will NEVER stay at a best western again!!! The name of this establishment should be worst western not best! My son, his grandma and I experienced so much disrespect and rudeness and so many issues while staying at this place all within less than 24 hours! 1. We experienced Disrespect upon arrival the check in receptionists (Erika & Sarah) continued repeatedly telling my son, his grandma , and I No Smoking on this premises and we explained over and over we are non smokers and that my sons grandma wasn't staying as she was a resident in Long Beach, and that she was here only helping carry our dinner up since we had our luggage. The receptionist ( Erika) kept repeating what she said to us in a demeaning tone. While another receptionist (Sarah) repeated what she said as well just in a more rude tone. 2. Upon going into the elevator to go to our room there was a Strong smell of marijuana in elevator and once we reached the 2nd floor it got very bad. We lodged a complaint about that and all's we were told is this is a non smoking establishment they will note the complaint and look into it. The smell was still there the next morning. 3. Upon check in to the room I realized there were multiple damage spots to the interior of the room. Burn holes in curtains both sheer and black out ones and damage to room walls, stains on the portraits on the wall. And an electric device hanging out of the wall with wires exposed. So we took pictures that had time stamps on them so we wouldn't be charged for them. 4. After settling in and getting ready for bed their was Loud noises banging on the wall and yelling after midnight to around 1:30am that kept my son and I awake. I tried to make multiple calls down to the front desk with no answer no voicemail. So I tried my cellphone and called the motel and still no answer however it did go to a voicemail that said the mailbox was full and we couldn't leave a message! It made us feel so unsafe! This gentleman was clearly upset as the walls are paper thin so we could hear him. It just being my son and myself we didn't feel safe trying to venture to the front desk to try and get help. 5. The breakfast we were given was a Small sack with a pastry and a water with an orange that wasn't even ripe enough to eat. We had to go out for breakfast since the breakfast that was advertised on the website was not available. Not we're other amenities like the gym and pool. Those being closed we're not advertised in booking. 6. When we came back from breakfast we had a knock at the door in which I got up from the chair a few feet from the door and before I could take the few steps to the door the Head of Housekeeping walked in room not only a few seconds after knocking not giving me time to answer! Not acceptable at all. What if my son was dressing! Not only that when I called the front desk to confirm they have a head of household that does these checks and let them know what happened I was treated like I did something wrong. The Receptionist (Sarah) asked if we had our Do Not Disturb sign up so we weren't bothered. I told her that wasn't the point. Not having the sign up does not give them rights to enter the room. I had no problem with the housekeeper confirming we had enough towels I had an issue with her walking in the room without permission. The receptionist(Sarah) said they would note the account of the complaint. 7. Shortly after that our remote batteries were dead so we called down and asked for some new batteries. The maintenance guy showed up pounding on the door upon me answering he asked “Does your door bell not work?” Which I didn't even know we had one so I said I don't know. He pushed it and sighed loudly and said he'd make a report. Then fixed the remote. Which when we entered the room it was wrapped up and it said it was a brand new remote. 8. As we were leaving for the day to help our family with upcoming events my sons grandma came in to help us pack down some things and visit before we left. She was told she was not aloud upstairs without giving the receptionist (Sarah) her ID. So she called and explained and said she didn't feel comfortable leaving her ID with her since this receptionist had already been so rude every time we had an encounter with her. My son and I came down and I asked why she was being asked for her ID. She had came up when we checked in with no issues. The Receptionist (Sarah) said it was Hotel policy. And that whoever let her up the day before was in the wrong. I asked ok I would like to see this policy. She stated she didn't have a written or typed policy paper stating such rules. I told her don't you think of a company or establishment like this wants to enforce “policies” on the customers who stay it should be written in writing in case of legal action? She repeated herself again twice saying it's hotel policy and if I had an issue I could speak with the manager when he arrived at 5 pm. I realized I had forgotten my wallet and had my son sit with his grandma and ran back upstairs and back down upon coming down the receptionist Sarah said I just talked with my manager and he feels with all the issues that have come up that perhaps it's better for us to find a different place to stay. And that we needed to gather our things and she would check us out. I told her what!? No! We are going out and I'll discuss this wiTh your manager later. She replied with well then we can go up and have your things packed and out the room for you when you get back. With never having dealt with such disrespect and rudeness from a motel and their workers I said ARE YOU SERIOUS!? I would like to speak with him about all the issues including your behavior and demeanor towards us. I told her we were leaving for the day and I would like to speak with him now on the phone or as soon as we return. She returned a sharp rude attitude question of Oh you want me to give you his personal information so you can call him? No I can't do that. I said no you said you just talked with him so I would like you to call him back so I could speak with him or let him know I'll speak with him when I return since he's working tonight. She then replied oh I'm not letting you have my cell phone to talk with him. I told her I didn't ask for that I assumed with you being the front receptionist you had called him off the front desk business phone. She called him on her cell phone explained what I asked and said with an attitude I wanted to talk with him. She then put her cell phone on speaker phone and stood there looking at us rudely while I tried to explain to the manager (Shawn) the issues. In which she kept cutting in on the conversation I was having with him to I put her too cents. Including LYING and saying that I called her Stupid. And continued to interrupt me saying yes you did when I was telling the manager Shawn that's not true I said she's just a receptionist I want to talk with the manager. The manager Shawn said he thinks it best for all parties that he will only charge one night and we can leave and find a better place suited for us to stay! At this point I was so upset with everything I said we already planned on it! Make sure the money is refunded and we will gather our things now. This is a terrible and horrific experience I can't believe anyone would ever stay here! 9. I then said can I have the name of the owner of the establishment so I can lodge a complaint and Sarah said they are independently owned and I could only speak with Shawn and he would contact the owner and speak to him for me. WHAT!!!! We went up and gathered our things and as we were on our way out I said we left the card keys in the room and explained to my sons grandma I can't believe she lied like that and how horrified we were. Sarah yelled as we were walking out the door YA Noooo! I looked back and shook my said and said wow. please if you have children or want someone to treat you respectfully and like a human! DO NOT STAY HERE

Dear 689ff, I apologize that your stay did not go as many of our previous guests have enjoyed even during this pandemic. We take our guest's feedback seriously and want to ensure we are doing our best to keep our guests safe and feeling comfortable. During check-in, we explain our hotel's policy and COVID policies and it sounds out of character for our desk agents mention to be condescending by any means. We sometimes may have to speak louder as we are wearing masks and have a plastic barrier so this can make it difficult for guests to hear or understand us. With the many challenges that Covid-19 has brought, to protect you and other guests, we have to take measures on ensuring that only hotel guests are inside to limit the potential spread of the virus. Online we do have it listed anywhere you can book our hotel that our amenities may be affected by Covid-19. The State of California as of July closed down many family recreational centers, gyms, pools, salons, and etc. Further, since we want to ensure the safety and health of our guests and to comply with the Department of Health's rules we also have been doing a "grab n go" style breakfast. I followed up to your complaint with the housekeeper. I assure you, we do respect the privacy of our guests. Since there wasn't a Privacy Sign on the door our housekeepers will knock, announce their presence, and if no response, will enter the guest room. Since the room was occupied our housekeeper respectfully departed the room. We have our remotes wrapped in what is called a fresh remote wrap which implies that it has been cleaned. We are glad that our maintenance was able to replace the remote with a working one quicky. In regards again to your family member visiting you were made aware of our No-Visitor policy at check-in. This is told to all guests staying along with other rules we expect all guests to follow for their safety and the safety of others. While we try our best to address and handle noise complaints this situation you describe where you were unable to reach our front desk I understand can be frustrating. We do wish that you did come down to explain the situation as we are more than willing to take care of our guest's needs. Please know that we also do not tolerate demeaning remarks towards our staff. "Long Beach Cali Vacation"
Great stay in Long Beach. Many close by activities and great shopping. Beautiful area to ride bicycles and enjoy that great California weather. Long Beach bike share right at hotel so very convenient. Shopping a few short blocks to walk or ride. Excellent restaurants close by as well. Good food and a clean area to enjoy with family or friends. Attractions are reasonably priced and very educational as well. A lot of interesting history to be learned with nearby exhibits. All in all a wonderful place to visit and tour!!

"Superb location, restful sleep."
Stayed here as the location was perfect for my needs. The location is definitely a great spot to be, although I did not get to explore very much because of my night time arrival. Lots of eating/ drinking places within a 2 block radius and perfect for a morning walk. Not at all noisy and slept soundly. The hot breakfast has good variety. The rooms are definitely older but clean and comfortable. The keurig and fridge in the room is nice, but a microwave would be a fantastic addition. Downside is there is no pets allowed, but that is clearly stated on the website. Definitely would stay here again.

"Great location! "
This hotel was in a perfect location. You literally walk out the door to any number of eateries or shops. It's close to the Shoreline Park and LB Convention Center. The breakfast room is a bit small/crowded but has the tylical food fair options & quite satisfactory. Rooms are nicely decorated. Enjoyable stay.

"Great Convention Hotel"
This is one of the best hotels that I had stayed in during a Convention in Long beach, CA. The location is perfect. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from that are walking distance from the Hotel. The bonus is a Vons grocery store just around the corner. The rooms were clean and decorated nicely and the staff was amazing .

"Great Stay at Best Western Convention Ctr. Long Beach"
Wonderful hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, very clean, nice room, full hot breakfast, with a variety of choices. Some of the items (such as bagels and bacon) could use an upgrade. Small issue though, as there was a lot of choice of what to eat. Used the computer and fitness center, both clean and in great working order. Overall, the hotel atmosphere was great, very bright and clean. Room size and layout was good, too. Highly recommended.

"PERFECT DOWNTOWN LB LOCATION"
The hotel is in the heart of downtown Long Beach. Beautiful views and atmosphere. Close to convention center, shopping centers, outdoor restaurants and bars. I'd recommend the king beds the full size beds are just too small for 2 grown adults!

Its a nice hotel located in city close to lot of restaurants and bar. its only 10-15 minutes walk to aquarium . Breakfast was very good but lot of people every morning . Our room be not cleaning one day

"Awesome stay"
I am never disappointed in the hotel or accommodations!! The staff is great. breakfast was perfect. I would have only liked a microwave in the room but ended up reheating imy dinner from the previous night in the breakfast station..No worries!!

"Super nice - very convenient!"
this hotel is really nice and clean, within walking distance of everything. We walked downtown and found great restaurants and it was nice walking around. We needed to be at the convention center the next morning; it was an easy walk. Breakfast was good too; better that other BW I've stayed in

"One nights stay before taking Catalina Island boat"
I like the the amenities of the Best Western Plus hotels. They have a nicer appearance than the regular Best Western hotels and a good hot breakfast. It was very convenient to the Catalina Express terminal.

"Unsure...at first!"
Upon arriving at the hotel, my son (age 9) said 'this is a hotel' ? Then we parked and went inside. My son then said to me 'Dad, this place is nice!' We were greeted by both people working the front desk. Very friendly, and helpful. My son had many questions ie: where is the swimming pool and where the restroom was? (after 3 hour drive). While one employee helped check us in, the other helped show my son where he could find the restroom. In less than 5 minutes we were checked in and heading to our room. My son and I felt very comfortable, especially when we fell asleep, the beds were heavenly. Check out was also very fast and easy! Thank you Best Western Plus!

"Very comfortable stay"
Great location to everything-restaurants, shops, museums, and the beach. Very clean room. Staff was particularly friendly and helpful for everything-directions, local knowledge, and any specific question. A free shuttle on Long Beach Blvd takes you to the Queen Mary. Close to the Metro. Seabird Jazz Lounge is worth exploring on Broadway. Can be a bit noisy if your room is facing the Marriott but this is city living. Manager was great.

"Nice Hotel in a great location"
The 1st night was very noisy. I missed breakfast to sleep in. The room we moved to was way better. This is a clean hotel.The place looks updated and it has a great location near everything like the beach, shops, Starbucks, a grocery store and restaurants. The bar is noisy on the main road .

Very clean, Nice room, Good breakfast, just a little crowded. Front desk staff was awesome and house keepers were friendly: the manager was super nice and made Me feel welcome! Would easily stay here again; parking is $20 a night though which was pricy.

Mother and daughter trip to Long Beach. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, bead was comfy. Didn't make it to breakfast. Had mini fridge which was a plus. Hallways were wide, carpet was clean. Located very close to restaurants, shopping and the beach. We visited the Gaslamp and it was nice. I would stay again.

"VERY convenient hotel!"
Not only is the room very comfortable, and the whole hotel smells like it was just mopped up and down 100 times, the surrounding area gives you lots of food options and activities to do! And it does not matter what time you come back, they will let you right in and you can get back to your very comfortable bed. This place was great!

Went to a conference at the Long Beach Convention Center. The walk was pretty short, the rooms were pretty nice, and the price reasonable! I would stay there again! Oh, and the breakfast was pretty tasty!

"Good hotel features, despite rooms which need updating."
The positives: Excellent front line staff! Manager Shawn is terrific, genuinely cares about guests' experiences. When i had an issue--my fault not the machine's -- with the Keurig, he arrived in less than five minutes to help. The young woman who checked me in was lovely (sorry--did not get her name). Thanks also to Sondra, who showed me alternative rooms (dark but quiet, vs bright but street-facing and more noise) and explained their advantages/disadvantages. The pleasant lady at breakfast was "on top"of keeping the area clean and food replenished. The bathroom looked recently renovated, with super-clean grout, nice countertops, even a place on wall to hang a hand towel (usually not present in hotels )although it is on the side of the long counter away from the sink. (Who designs these impractical things?) Good adjustable shower; new towels. Toiletries are fine once you get contents out of the small bottles. Fresh flowers in halls. There's a good po-ke restaurant in the building (you enter from outside). Good breakfast, and even soy milk for coffee. Scrambled eggs, plus sausages, waffles, bacon. The potatoes were far better than most chain hotel breakfasts. Good condiments, eg walnuts, for cereal and yogurts; water fountain with filtered water to fill bottles. 24 hour tea (good variety) and coffee available in the breakfast room; separate business center with computers and printer. The bedroom is small, has two double--not queensized --beds. There's a small refrigerator in room. There is an indoor pool and small fitness center in areas which were kept clean. Note: The hotel has three floors, so if your room faces the street, you will hear noise from any level, especially on weekend evenings when the area comes alive with marvelous restaurants and bars. However, these rooms are brighter, and face the street with their palm trees and interesting Art Deco buildings. For a quiet room, choose one which faces into the center,although that overlooks the short term parking area (see photo) and a small "desert garden." The less-than-positives: While described as "BW Convention Center" it is a fifteen minute walk to the Convention Center. Although a lovely walk along East Ocean Blvd, it is not a true "Convention Center" hotel. There is no hot tub in the pool area There is no luggage rack-- there's a padded bench in the room where you could put luggage.( Perhaps there are luggage racks available if needed.) Housekeeping in the room was ok but with items that indicate a perhaps too-quick cleaning: a jar of cookie dough under the desk from someone in the past; clump of old soap on the bathtub drain. There's an air freshener placed under the nightstand, which could be a problem for anyone sensitive to scents. The first soap dish was rusty and sticky-- Mgr Shawn immediately replaced it with a perfect one (seee photo). Carpet in the room is a a drab brown color, and had sticky areas, especially around the desk area. I hope BW renovates the bedrooms as nicely as they have done with the bathrooms. There is a general need for "deep cleaning" or tossing worn-out items. The rubber footpads on the ironing board were smudged black dirty; on some wooden hangers the finish was peeled off. These are little things but convey an impression that this room needs upgrading!! Unlike many California and other hotels, there was no recycle bin in the room Price: I got a great rate, about $115, which is what made me choose this vs other nearby LB hotels where I've stayed. For taht price, it was very good value, but if I'd paid more than $200/night, I'd have thought it was way overpriced, even for the LB area. Because of the above plusses, the overall experience was ok, but I would not stay here again unless there were similar bargain rates, and BW Corporate invests in upgrading the bedrooms..

Several of the items mention we have been sure to address such as the carpet since we are currently steam cleaning halfway through all of our rooms. You feel like you pay for 5 stars and only recieve 1. Your stay feels like a bad contract you can't get out of. if you like tight spaces this is the place for you. Everything but the bathroom was small with no space.

The Best Western Plus in Long Beach had one of the Best Rates in the area. Also, the hotel was very clean, had good wifi connection, and breakfast included with the stay. "better than expected"
I love that a grocery store was in walking distance for water, soda, and even prepared foods. I like that the tub was low and had handles the beds were comfortable. the convention center is a 2 block walk. There is more walking once you get to the center.

"Will definitely be staying again"
My family and I stayed here this past weekend. The minute you step from the parking garage to the elevator you instantly felt you were staying at a fancy hotel. There were fresh flowers everywhere, it smelled amazing everywhere even the room. The beds were small for 2 grown adults but they're comfy. The breakfast room was crowded definitely not enough seats at all. But overall breakfast was good and I enjoyed our stay and the kids loved the indoor pool.

"Nice hotel"
Stayed here for a night on a business trip. The hotel is easy to find and has plenty of parking. The location is great being only a few minutes away from many restaurants and attractions. The room was nice and had a comfy bed. Some of the paint and floor showed some age, but nothing horrible. The room had a small balcony as well, which was nice. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was your typical best western breakfast. Nothing special, but can't beat the price. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.

"Great hotel for our family of 5 before our cruise!"
I booked two rooms for our family of 5 about 9 months before our cruise after reading good reviews. I had never emailed a hotel manager before, but a few weeks before our trip, I emailed Shawn the manager and asked him a few questions. He emailed me back promptly and gave me the information that I needed. The day before our flight to California, one of our daughters slipped on ice and broke her ankle in 2 places. I emailed Shawn again that day to ask about wheelchairs. They did not have wheelchairs but he moved one of our rooms to a handicap accessible room and our other room beside it. It worked well because we took a walker with us. We spent the day before our cruise at Disneyland where we rented a wheelchair. We also rented a wheelchair for our cruise. We managed fine in the hotel with the walker thanks to Shawn putting us in the handicap accessible room. The hotel rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable! I really liked the amenities in the room. Shawn gave us a map of the area when we checked in and gave suggestions for restaurants close by. The free breakfast was very good! I usually don't eat scrambled eggs in hotels, but I did there and they were delicious. I really liked the seasoning. The girl working in the breakfast room was very nice. One morning when the breakfast room was getting crowded, she opened us a conference room for people to go and eat. The girls at the front desk were also very nice. The hotel is in a great location and had good rates! I highly recommend this hotel! We really enjoyed our stay there!

"Long Beach"
Hotel was incredibly expensive for what we received. Upon arrival, I was charged an additional $500 as compared to what I was originally quoted. I also had an issue with my card and asked if I could have my husband pay in advance. I was told this was possible, but upon arrival they say it needed to be done at least 24 hours prior to us ever showing up (even though we gave 72 hour notice). Our room had chocolate covered raisins laying all over the floor. The fitness center had zero ventilation, and no gluten free options available for breakfast. First time at best western and will not be returning.

"Happy with choice"
We recently stayed here 1 night before our cruise. We were definitely pleased with our experience. We arrived around 1pm and were allowed to check in early with no problem. The staff was friendly and hotel was spotless. I was very impressed. Our room was nice and comfortable. We had a cute little balcony, but it faced another building so we didn't really use it. Breakfast was good and included. Every staff member we encountered acknowledged and spoke to us. Location was wonderful. Beach was about a 5 min walk, there are plently of restaurants around, and a grocery store around the block for our pre-cruise needs. We would definitely recommend and stay again if we ever cruise out of Long Beach again.

"Pre-cruise stop"
The staff was very courteous! The room was very clean however the coffee in the room needs massive improvement. The shampoo/ soap dispensers are a good attempt to go “Green” but the quality is not good so bring your own. The gym is ok and parking is plentiful.

"Surprisingly not bad"
To start off, the check-in was not too bad. It was pretty simple but it seems like the Front Desk is not into customer service (not much smiles or eye contacts) -- I had to initiate by saying "Thank you" first when it should be them saying it first after I was done with the registration. The Front Desk did not explain anything about the hotel (such as breakfast time, what else the hotel has to offer, etc but luckily, I did my own research). I am not asking for an extravagant customer service but at least acknowledge me and give me a quick intro. I will give props to the PM Front Desk for saying "hello" whenever we walked past them. The parking lot is located underground which I thought was pretty cool because it definitely felt safe. I believe there are two floors for parking. The price is not bad, $17 per night with unlimited in and out privileges. Our room was pretty spacious (which was very surprisingly, in a great way!). However, the bathroom needs some renovation. I felt like there wasn't enough rack for us to hang our sets of towels. Our sink water literally took forever to have hot water (actually, I do not recall having any hot water -- please have your Engineer team check it out -- Room 311). The toilet paper does not seem that great...it can be better because the fabric reminds me of napkins from restaurants. Also, where you place the soap dish, there were lots of rust on it that I didn't want to use it anymore, instead I used a paper towel as a replacement. I am not sure what you can do to get rid of the smell from the A/C (maybe time for an upgrade?). I would also check the TV signal because while I was watching TV, the signal would be gone then back on again from time to time. Also, I noticed a lot of dust in the room especially near the lamps and clocks but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Lastly, I wish there were more outlets. I like the idea of having the lamps with an outlet...I just wish there were more than just one plug on them. Throughout my stay with the hotel, I noticed that they used a lot of polish for the elevators that if you run your fingers, it will get oily and might not be pleasant if someone leans on the elevator -- not sure if you want to let your housemen to be aware of this situation. The location was amazing especially since we were there for a convention for the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius -- less than a 10-minute walk! Also, there is VONS close by, which is great if you need to grab some snacks and drinks. We will definitely come back when the opportunity arises!

"Walking Distance to the Convention Center and Aquarium"
We were looking for a reasonable hotel to stay near the Convention Center to attend an event and leave our car parked safely away from the crowd. This is a very nice Best Western with underground parking. The staff is friendly and the continental breakfast offers hot food as well as cold fare. We will stay here again and take the short walk to the Pike, Convention Center and Aquarium.

"Great location for the convention Center"
Nice location. Very secure undergound parking. Everything is in walking distance from hotel. Beware of parking fees. Well worth it for the security. Quiet flimsy control in rooms. No problem sleeping with it on . Windows also open. For fresh air.

We were surprised by the $17/day parking fee, but everything else was fine. The neighborhood was super cute, with a lot of restaurants, shops, and bars within easy walking distance. We were in town for the night for an event aboard the Queen Mary. We walked from the hotel to dinner, and then took a stroll through the neighborhood to take in the sights. The room itself was surprisingly large. It had a comfortable bed, lounge chair, bench and a small balcony (with a view of the building next door). The AC turned on once the deadbolt was locked, and it worked really well. The walls were as thin as you'd expect from a hotel. Our neighbors decided to have a raucous hang-out from 8 - 10 pm, but thankfully they shut it down right at 10. Our evening plans lasted into the wee hours of the morning, so when we came traipsing back into the lobby at 3:30 am, the desk clerk was able to accommodate our request for a late check-out without batting an eye. We'd come back, for sure.

"Good location & attractive rooms."
Spent 2 nights here recently with my husband The rooms were attractive and comfortable, although the views from our room were poor. The hairdryer in our room was broken when we arrived & maintenance came up & replaced it within minutes. The immediate neighborhood is a nice mix of funky shops & casual restaurants but the hotel is within walking distance of the Pike, Aquarium & lots of restaurants. It is also very near the metro Blue Line which we took into downtown LA & was way more pleasant than driving. We'll definitely stay here next time we're in Long Beach.

"Convention Center Hotel Score!"
I recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel while attending a conference at the Long Beach Convention Center. I was extremely happy with my stay and highly recommend staying here. There was plenty of parking and I was able to walk to the convention center. The rooms are equal to a pricey hotel with plenty of amenities in the room, including a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. I paid significantly less than conference attendees staying at other nearby hotels. The hotel does not have onsite dining, other than breakfast, but there are many restaurant options within walking distance. If you're unsure about where to stay, or want to avoid ridiculous prices, give this hotel a try.

"Affordable, updated hotel in Downtown Long Beach"
The hotel was great and a good price for the area. The hotel staff was friendly, warm, welcoming, while being quick and efficient at their jobs. The bed was comfortable. There were plenty of pillows. The mattress is in a zipped cover. The bathroom was clean. The carpet could use a cleaning. The air conditioning/heater would not turn on, even with the deadbolt engaged as stated on the signage. It cost an additional $17 to park, and there were no spots. The front desk let us park in one of the 30 minute spots though. The breakfast was delicious. The eggs in particular were quite good, especially for hotel breakfast scrambled eggs. The waffle iron makes three smaller waffles at once instead of one giant one. There were waffles, bananas, apples, oranges, white and wheat toast (with jam and peanut butter), different bagels and cream cheese, oatmeal with various condiments, activia yogurt, dry cereal, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, juices, coffee and tea. I would stay here again if in the area.

"Practical and clean"
The hotel is excellent and well located in Long Beach shops and restaurants easy reach great breakfast place around the corner. The let down was the breakfast but hotel manager wrote back to me to reassure he will try and improve it. The staff is great and super friendly and the rooms super clean. The safe box warning if you place 6 figures of 000000 it opens by itself even thou you have a password numbers of your choice.

"Solid 3 star hotel"
BWP Long Beach is in a great location with onsite parking at a reasonable rate. The desk chair and bed were most certainly on the high end of quality and extremely comfortable. As I was on business, the desk chair is important. The internet is also very stable. This room was very far from the elevator so if mobility impaired be sure to check the location of the room to the elevator. The room, for whatever reason, did not have a lounge/TV chair which meant either sitting at the desk or on the bed to watch TV - very odd. Overall, good 3 star hotel within walking distance of good restuarants and minutes drive to the Queen Mary. Approx 10 kms from the 405 & 710 interchange so easy access to the LA freeway system.

Just what you'd expect. Nothing lavish but clean and staff is very attentive, helpful and friendly. walking distance (10 min) to the convention center and near a lot of small cafe's and restaurants. No hassle. the rooms at the back of the hotel border a restaurant or something with outside seating so it was noisy when I went to bed at around 11pm on Sat. But I always travel with earplugs just in case.

"Nice hotel, good location, but..."
Room and property clean, staff was great. But, if you're going to charge me a fee for daily parking on property, there needs to be a space for me. No matter when I return. 1am Friday night and there were no spots. Had to park on street and move my car back on to property at 6am. Also, not sure why you hold $100 for a "security fee" which is reimbursed on check out? I'm a middle aged slightly overweight card carrying AARP kinda guy. If I'm a security risk, don't book me.

"Good Location Nice Stay"
The room was very clean and located within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The fitness room is basic but does the trick for a quick workout. Breakfast was simple but did the trick (please get rid of the instant coffee though). There is a charge for parking and the stalls are small. Overall it was a pleasant stay!

"Great Location"
Went to a conference at the Long Beach convention center. Arrived at the hotel early and they held my bag at the front desk. Returned after check in time and was given a room and my bag. The hotel is walking distance to the convention center and the nightlife in the downtown area. I had a king room and it was very clean and modern looking. The front desk staff and housekeepers were fantastic. Breakfast was good, I enjoyed the waffle maker. When checking out they allowed me to check my bag to pick up after the convention was over. Highly recommend and I will stay here again if I make it back to Long Beach.

"Great stay in Long Beach"
January 3 to January 5 we stayed at the Best Western Plus in Long Beach. We loved it. The service was great. The location was great. We walked to water front shops and attractions. Many restaurants and stores were nearby. It included a buffet breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage and hot oatmeal. It included a fitness room my daughter (20) used and a very small fitness pool. The pool wasn't big enough or deep enough to be useful to me. The room was a very standard American motel room (not particularly large) with two beds, but nicely done.

"Good choice"
The hotel is in a good location, lot of restaurants nearby. Check in and out were very smooth, room is fine, no luxury but perfect to stay a couple of days. Room and bathroom were very clean and were cleaned every day. We were very pleased with all we got for the price paid.

Stayed here while attending the nutcracker. Nice rooms. Good area of town. Breakfast was marginal and wasn't kept well stocked. Underground parking. Check in/ check out was painless. However, I Will pay more next year for higher end hotel and skip the cheap breakfast.

"Extremely satisfied"
Planned a weekend trip to Long Beach, CA. Arrived and checked in with no issues, and the rest of the weekend went great as well. Called front desk for extra towels and they were brought up surprisingly quick. Breakfast, tv, and internet was great. I even had a balcony to hangout outside which was a plus. "Great hotel in DT Long Beach"
I stayed here the first night that I moved to Long Beach. I got a great deal online for the room. Sandra at the front desk was awesome! She was so friendly and helpful. Definitely made moving here and not knowing anyone a little bit better. The hotel is near everything in downtown. Lots of restaurants to walk to. And a large grocery store a block away. Had a large hot and cold breakfast selection that was really good. The room was nice and clean and quiet. The bathroom was very clean and they have extra toiletries if you need them.

"Good Hotel"
Great Hotel, but don't checkin at night. The night clerk has an attitude problem! My parents loved the lady that checked them in around 4 but I put up with a very different story when i checked in late.

We enjoyed our stay in a clean king room that was freshly remodeled. (as was the rest of this facility) Staff - friendly, efficient, professional etc. I'll put it this way they smiled but they went out of their way to may sure we felt like smiling also. Last but not least - $$ are reasonable.

We do our best to ensure that anywhere you can book our hotel that our guests are aware of any additional fees and policies. Further, our $15 a night parking rate is the lowest out of the other downtown hotel competitors in Long Beach. With many guest hotel keycards that are available, they are sensitive to other devices or magnets, however, it is possible your keycards deactivated due to a timer. We will look further into this issue. Many of our guests usually enjoyed all our hot items for breakfast. Our eggs, however, do come in a bag but are some of the top quality bagged eggs we can get from our 3rd party Sysco foods distributor. I do understand that some food items aren't for everyone. The hotel is downtown with easy walking to lots of restaurants and shops. It was comfortable and had all the amenities needed. Breakfast was the usual fare, and more than adequate. The staff was great - sent us to a very nice restaurant.

"Standard business hotel, great location, poor breakfast"
Stayed here for 5 days on a business trip. Rooms were clean, staff were polite, location is great for downtown Long Beach. Neighbourhood has plenty of local cafes, restaurants and bars and a Vons a block away. There is a free breakfast but it was pretty low quality - would have given the stay a four if the breakfast was better. Plenty of places to get a decent breakfast around the neighbourhood.

"Great Location!"
We really liked this hotel located in the East Village. I took my 17 year old son and a friend to Twitchcon 2017. From the hotel, it was about six blocks to convention center as well within walking distance to Shoreline Village, the beach, and Pine Street. Room was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

"Coming Back"
Great hotel, the pool is indoors so weather was not a worry. Free breakfast was really good! I was pleasantly surprised that the breakfast included fresh potatoes, eggs, beacon and waffles. They have great wifi. We will be visiting Long Beach for work more often so this will be the hotel we use when we come.

"This is a true BW Plus!"
This is a well managed Best Western. Everything is clean from the rooms to the breakfast area. They are walking distance to the best area bars and restaurants! Beds are super comfortable and they have garage parking. The manager works very hard and always has a smile.

Good Check in went smoothly; computer desk is good size; hotel, room, and bathroom were clean. Bad No handicapped spots on upper level; these are reserved for a hotel owned restaurant/bar. While there are handicapped spots in underground parking, what if a person arrives with a vehicle that will clear underground parking heights? There should be at least four handicapped spots at ground level for hotel guests. There is no guest laundry. The computer desk chair does not have any arms so a person can rest their own arms. If you agree with re-using towels and washrags, there are not enough hang bars for multiple room occupants. The ice bucket is about 2/3 the size of a usual ice bucket. The breakfast area does not have enough low tables. Short or handicapped persons have a problem with the tall tables and chairs. Guests have to use their room key to access the breakfast area even during breakfast hours. The oatmeal was never hot enough, just warm; microwaving needed.

"Well kept hotel in downtown Long Beach"
Stayed here while attending a conference at the convention centre. Not one negative, from the moment I met the reception team and the very friendly manager Shawn I knew I'd chosen the right place. Rooms are good, comfy beds and a nice powerful shower. Rooms cleaned daily and to a great standard. Breakfast buffet is good with a wide selection to suit all diets. Good location, 5-10 min walk to convention centre and same distance to the bars and restaurants. Only criticism is the size of the pillows on the bed, more like cushions you'd have on a sofa.

There is no better value, location, comfort, attention to detail elsewhere in Long Beach. The hotel is located downtown Long Beach and accessible to everything. Comfortable, inviting, and with a wonderfully attentive staff, this is hard to beat, not to mention the extremely favorable rate.

"Worth every pemny!"
The location is the best!, service was awesome. Rooms are clean & updated. Lots of channels to chose from. Pool area is relaxing. Breakfast area was roomy & the food delicious! U need to pay for parking but that is the one & only con.

"Short Fun Stay"
Had a great experience at this hotel. Excellent location for getting around the local attractions. Breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day of adventures. Would highly recommend for those traveling and staying in this location for business or pleasure. Easy to get around, many restaurants to choose from. Comfy room and fast internet.

"Great Hotel"
Very good breakfast, clean rooms, great location and only 5 min away from the beach. Parking is $15/night but it's underground and seems safe. Internet was fast and free with the password provided when we checked-in. Overall we would pick it again,nice place.

"Clean and comfortable"
Stayed here will with a group of people while we toured Southern California. It was centrally located to our destinations. My room was very clean as well as comfortable. The room was nicely decorated and housekeeping was meticulous about tidying my room each day! My room overlooked the parking area but was very quiet at night. The only noise was the sound of running water when someone took a shower. The hotel also had restaurants nearby as well as two markets; one a small corner market and the other was a Von's grocery store. Breakfast every morning was included. There was a variety of options: scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, sweet rolls, and various breads. Overall an excellent stay!

"Great!"
The staff was helpful and friendly. We were always greeted when we came and went. The room was comfortable and clean. There is underground parking for a price that is lower than the other hotels in the area. It is close to the beach and the port. Many good eating places within 3 blocks, One right across the street and one a block away We would stay here again if in the area.

"Long Beach Staple"
Very nice hotel and room, within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, as well as the beach. Great for the price for the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Would be happier if they carried more gluten-free breakfast items.

"Nice hotel"
Nice clean room, spacious and comfortable. Big bathroom and all the amenities I needed. Parking is not free, and it was very limited. Breakfast was good and kept warm. I got to breakfast as soon as it was available so it was fresh. Breakfast area was nice, a little small for a decent size hotel. Nice staff.

One of the most cleaness and most nicest Best Western hotels I ever stay at . Even on a Tuesday night they were booked solid and it show because the parking basement area was filled . Anyways staff was so nice and kind and let us park in there areas so we wouldn't have to park on the street . Thank you so much . Will be staying again there soon .

"Great value for your dollar!"
My daughter and I stayed at the BW Plus at the Convention Center, Long Beach. The staff was polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. The complimentary breakfast offered a variety for different tastes, and lasted from 6:30-9:30, which is great for late risers. My requests for cleaning and extra towels were honored in a timely manner. Overall, we actually experienced better service than a friend who stayed at a more expensive hotel across the street from LBCC. She had to negotiate with the front desk and restaurant host to get a complimentary breakfast! I will definitely stay here again.

The location is very convenient. It's right in the middle of one's 'needs' & 'wants'. Just staying in the room would already make one feels relax & we'll rested. Breakfast is so good. "Disappointed"
I read a lot of the reviews on trip advisor, which helped make my choice in staying at the Best Western Plus in Long Beach, but was very disappointed in my stay: Pro: 1. Some of the breakfast was good - yoghurt, toast. The breakfast area was clean. The maids and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. 2. Room is updated. 3. Good location. Cons: 1. Parking is 15$ day upon check in. 2. Nasty globs on curtains (dirty) 4. Bathroom dirty - long black hair, dirty drain stopped, nasty stuff on walls - I ended up cleaning it myself. 5. Many hotel rooms are over the parkade - be prepared to listen to car alarms or other noise. 6. Some rooms are directly across from ice machine (that has NO door) - if you have one of these rooms, you will also NOT sleep. 7. Beds uncomfortable, pillows lumpy - i woke up with a super sore neck and back 8. No hot tub and small pool. 9. Staff don't care - front desk said they'd switch room before 1pm due to not sleeping (parkade, ice machine, person locked in the stairwell screaming and banging on the door in the stairs at night across from our room - if you don't have a card you get locked in the stairs and can't alert staff) and front desk never called me like they said they would to switch my room. Called front desk just after 1pm and the afternoon staff had no idea about switching our room and couldn't do it until after 2pm which I had specifically told morning staff I couldn't do after 2pm as we had to be somewhere. Asked staff to have manager to email me to discuss stay and the manager never contacted me. 10. Breakfast - Eggs were sitting in a pool of liquid, they don't refill apparently once items are gone (heard others upset about this too). We've travelled to many hotels around the world and while there were some pros, I would not stay at this hotel again. I felt very stressed out at this hotel. I was disappointed, very exhausted and sore checking out of this hotel. I had a full day of travel home on two nights of no sleep and an extremely sore body due to beds and pillows. I'd never stay here again.

Good hotel in a perfect central nice neighborhood location. Room where very clean and bed had all the comfort one needs to have a good night sleep. Breakfast needs improvement from quality, presentation and location.

Helpful front desk staff, average breakfast, average exercise room, warm hallways, warm lobby. Great restaurants nearby; one is right across the street. Water supply in lobby was empty both days, though ice was in it.
"Long Beach CA"
I didn't expect much from a Best Western but this hotel and staff was excellent. For a moderately priced hotel, the lobby andcrooms were renovated, beds were very comfortable and bathroom very clean and updated. Would definitely stay here again!
"Convention Center"
First time staying at Best Western and was very pleased with the quality and cleanness of hotel. I signed up for their reward program and will stay there again. Hot breakfast was simply and good(eggs, meats, waffles, ect.). Employees are professional, courteous and helpful.

"A Great Stay"
The Best Western Plus at The Convention Center was Wonderful. The Check In and Check Outs were Very Easy. Rooms were Updated and Very Clean. Close to Attractions like The Queen Mary and Long Beach Aquarium. A wide variety of restaurants within easy walking distance. They do charge $15 per day for parking. Worth it though. Parking is underground and secured. Enjoy.

"Great Room and breakfast"
Stayed here last Monday and we liked the amenities, the room is modern, bed and pillows are comfortable, has a Keurig Coffee available in the room, no bottled water though, but offered Free Breakfast from 6:30 am to 9:30 am. Location is great, walking distance to a lot of places to see.

"Not the Best"
Several issues arose that were unsatisfactory. One- check in. Someone was paying for the hotel, I was informed that only a holding charge for 100 would be placed on my card when I checked in. The total amount was charged to my card, Had to request the person paying for my room who reserved it online, drive an hour 1/2 that night to switch the cards. It took until Monday evening for my charges to drop off and got several different answers from front desk about the issue. Two - AC stopped working and it was extremely hot day and room got unbearable quickly. Three- Called front desk around 1:30 in the afternoon the following day, and requested that my sheets be changed, ( had makeup marks on the linens, I did not wear makeup during my stay I did not notice until following morning as it was evening when I checked in.) And that they empty the trash cans. I came back to my room around 7pm and no one came by room to change the sheets or empty the trash. They sent maintenance for the trash but sheets could not be changed- which is gross. Three- my last day of my stay I was taking things down to my car, and forgot my key in the room and had to go to the front desk to request one. I ended up having to go back down three times because the key they gave me would not work, I was almost late to work because it took about 20 minutes for them to finally go to the room with me to unlock it so I could get my last bag. The staff was nice enough, but that does not makeup for all the inconveniences .

For a guest to check in, we need to establish credit for the entire amount plus the security deposit with a valid credit or debit card. Depending on who you bank with; any authorizations placed on your account can take several days to reflect that it was dropped. Although not mentioned, I do hope you reached out to the front desk about your A/C as we are always quick to service our guest's needs. All of the sheets we use on the property are washed and sanitized by a linen company off-site. We apologize your sheets had makeup stains that were failed to be removed. We are thankful that you contacted us to have these changed out for a new fresh set. To address your trash not being taken out we reviewed our housekeeping log and found that housekeeping service was declined. We were more than happy, however, to remove any trash and other items when you notified us. For your keycard situation, we truly apologize that it was not functioning for you after your checkout. Our maintenance team examined the door; however, they found it was still working properly without fault. We would hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a superior guest experience. "Great hotel in Long Beach near ferry terminals"
We needed a hotel near the ferry terminal. This hotel was in an excellent location, close to the water and the downtown shops and restaurants. Everything was accessible by foot. The entire staff from management to desk staff to housekeeping were extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Stress Free Hotel Stay"
Very satisfied with check in/check out staff, very courteous, room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Other than finding a banana in the dorm fridge everything absolutely everything was excellent. Location is at walking distance to the beach, Queen Mary ferry, shopping centers, the harbor and many other sites. Highly recommend anyone to consider there stay at this hotel.

"Pretty convenient plus friendly staff!"
We enjoyed the location of the hotel because it's right downtown and close to the convention center. They charge for parking ($15 a day). The hotel has an indoor pool. The views of the room are mostly the back of the hotel. The Manager, Sean, is very helpful, friendly and informative. He tells you everything about the hotel and the city. Note that the hotel lets all the guests to take their breakfast to the room in case the breakfast room is full at AM. The business center is all the way to the end of the breakfast room. I used the business center a little bit, very good! The hot breakfast was not great but other than that they have pretty good selections. This hotel it located at a most convenient intersection. Across from them are two great restaurants and bars. If you don't feel like going to Pine Avenue where most of the restaurants are situated, you can just go to these restaurants and bars across from this hotel. One thing I would suggest is to give a little bit of training for the front desk employees. For example, I called to ask about the TV that didn't work using the remote control and a female front desk employee said she would check and call me back. She didn't call back and when I called back she said I had to wait for the maintenance guy to come in later. That I understand but she should have called me back just to let me know that. Being proactive helps. I had my TV going by playing with the remote couple times. Maybe it needs new batteries! LOL. Anyway, the whole experience staying here was very good. The staff members were polite. I'm sure they will improve what needs to be improved. I heard they went thru a renovation. So that's a good start.

"Excellent Location"
lots of great bars and restaurants. Beach is nearby. great for shopping. I bought a new suit. there are food trucks. the hotel doesnt provide conditioner and the city does not allow plastic bags... the view is not great. Everyone obsessively obeys traffic laws.

"Good value in a good location"
If you want good value and a good location, this is the hotel for you. There are lots and lots of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and a groceery store around the corner. The only bad thing which I do not blame the hotel for is that people allow their dogs to relieve themselves on the sidewalks just outside of the hotel. People should really be more considerate and clean up after their dogs.

"Comfortable and Quiet/ Good Hearty Breakfast"
We arrived at 9 pm, as planned. Made an attempt to use the pool, but it was cold. Although they did turn on the heat, it is not a quick fix. But we appreciated that they tried, for kids. Room was clean and internet worked. The breakfast has a big variety of food options, including waffles you make, fresh fruit, yogurt and dry cereals. Good location if you are visiting the area. Can walk to many restaurants and shops. Close to a market if needed. Had a refrigerator in the room.

"Exceptional customer service! "
I booked 2 rooms here several months ago for a family event this month and we were very happy with the hotel and the service we received. I was travelling with my elderly parents and the staff could not have been more accomodating and kind. I had an issue with my door card lock on day 3, and Shawn, the manager himself, dropped what he was doing and came directly to my room to get it fixed up. The rooms were very clean, plenty of towels and the beds were comfortable. Lots of restaurants in the area and a short walk to the Convention Center. There is a grocery store just around the corner. Breakfast is plentiful and there is a person cleaning tables and restocking items all morning. Thanks to the staff for their help in making our trip memorable!

"Good Place to sleep, Good Price, Nice Staff, great location"
Spent 3 long days at the Long Beach Scuba Show, standing at our booth there. Enjoyable days, but long. The nice firm mattresses at this hotel, along with a quick bight to eat for breakfast at their continental breakfast, made these days easier. Left an item at the hotel, and the General Manager, Shawn Jones, mailed my item to me, soon after learning I had left it there.

"Don't let the outside fool you..."
When I pulled up to the hotel I was nervous, however don't let the outside fool you. The lobby and rooms while just basic we're clean. Note: You will have to pay for parking which I do not agree with. That should be included in the price.

"good location and a pleasant stay"
this is a good hotel next to a lot of activities. I do recommend you get a room not on the front street due to the noise level. all else was very good, the restruants are numerous and close to walk to. the pier is also within walking distance

"Great customer service for disabled/elderly"
Sean the general manager was very polite and helpful. He found a room close to elevator for my senior disabled co-traveler. We were exhausted from travel. He was able to check us in eearly. A 5 star customer service rating for sure!

"Good Value"
BWP offered the best value compared to the rest of the hotels near the LB convention center. If your room faces the busy street, be prepared to hear noise from the revellers outside ... especially during the weekend - bring earplugs.

"Perfect hotel for Anniversary Trip"
We stayed at the Best Western at the Convention Center in Long Beach, CA from 4/26-4/29. The hotel was busy but quiet. All of the staff members were courteous and helpful. Parking was simple and the garage was quiet and clean. The single king bed was comfortable, and we had a great view of the street. We were able to walk to the great restaurants close by. It was also close to the beachfront and the Pike mall. We went to Junipero beach and also spent time in Hollywood, Venice Beach, and the Santa Monica Pier (All about 1 hour away). We would definitely come back.

"Pleasant Stay"

"Awesome location"
This hotel is close to restaurants and the Pike. hotel is in walking distance of the aquarium and catalina express terminal. Bike stations are right across the street. So that is another option to get around the area. The hotel also has an easily accesible parking structure which is another plus. the room's are decent enough that you'll get quality sleep. To sum it up, quality hotel with a great location.

"Excellent spacious rooms. Great customer service."
I came for a conference at the Long Beach Convention centre. This hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk so quite convenient. PROS: Excellent/Spacious rooms, very comfortable. Great staff such as Abraham, Katie and Shaun who provided great customer service. I forgot my suit and leather jacket in my room, but the reception staff were excellent and kept it safely till I returned a week later to pick up my suit/jacket. I was very very grateful!!! CONS: The Breakfast I feel could be improved. The paper plates and reduced cooked food selection is why I drop one star. If the breakfast was better, this hotel would get 5 stars. All in all a safe bet in Long Beach!!

We apologize if our breakfast didn't have much variety apart from our Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Potatoes, Waffles, different flavored yogurts, hot and cold cereal options, waffles, pastries fresh fruit, gluten and non-dairy options and also a dozen different toppings we serve every morning. From a sanitary and safety perspective, our one use heavy-duty soak resistant paper plates make more sense in retrospect of using plastic plates or glass that degrade in appearance after periods of use or shatter if dropped. "Nice stay!"
Were a family of four. The hotel was great! Its also great for couples w no kids because there's bars right accross from three hotel! My only complaint was that the beds were so small! They were two full beds, not even queen beds. Otherwise, the stay was great!

We were at a horrific hotel on a convention week and stopped in to see if there was any availabilities... Great gal Dilcia at front desk was fabulous. "AMAZING SERVICE"
I had reserved Mar 13-16 at this location but due to the snow storm my flight from the east coast was cancelled. I had to spend a night in a crappy hotel in Washington DC, thus missing one night here at the Best Western Plus that I already paid for. I called and explained my situation to Shawn, and he went above and beyond to accommodate us. He was able to refund that one night, and when we got there he was very helpful and even got us a room with a balcony. Shawn was the bomb, and I had no complaints with the room or the hotel. Highly recommended.

"Really disappointed "
I guess we were spoiled by the wonderful treatment we had at the Best Western Santa Barbara in September. It started when we checked in and were told that there is a $15 per day parking fee. Not a good way to greet a guest. No street parking, and if you find a space, on weekdays it's metered parking. The toilet and the sink in the bathroom were on top of each other. The pillows horrible, synthetic comforter, the TV not in line with the bed, desk crammed against the TV stand, no chairs to sit in. The staff took the towels we hung up and the bath mat and did not replace them, thank god I asked for extra towels, which I used as a pillow since there was no other option. They couldn't find my membership, don't know if they even tried. Never staying there again.
"Huge disappointment"
I guess we were spoiled by the Best Western Santa Barbara....it started when we checked in and found out that there is a $15 per day parking fee. There is NO street parking, and if it's a weekday and you find a space, it's metered. Then they couldn't find my membership. (Still don't know if she even tried). The room was okay, the bathroom, not so much. Who puts the sink at the same location as the toilet? Also, not enough towels provided for 2 people. I made the reservation weeks in advance, for 2 adults, no excuse. The pillows were horrible, I asked if there was another option. No, because it's a Best Western, that is what they offer. The comforter was synthetic, which makes me hot, and not in a good way. We asked for extra towels on the second day, and the staff took the towels that were hung up (which they say indicates you will use them again) and the bathmat! Really? Take the bathmat, but don't replace it? Ask for extra towels but take the original ones? I was using the towels to replace the horrid pillows. Everything was slightly off. The TV was not lined up with the bed, there was a desk, but it was crammed in next to the TV stand when there was TONS of room on one wall. No chair to sit in, just a cube. The coffee maker set up didn't have enough coffee for 2 people. It's the little details that don't cost that much that make for a good experience or a poor one. This was a poor one. If you're going to charge for parking, make it part of the room charge, not an added expense. It was a gouge.
"The best, Best Western so far."
We were expecting your average Best Western & a bit nervous about the location. Our worries were wrong on both counts. The facility is new, quite spacious, and the pool is large, indoor & heated. Our room was large with a king bed and easy to get to from the underground parking via the elevator. The personnel, particularly Shawn Jones, the general manager, were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent within easy walking distance of all downtown spots and public transportation. Our only problems were the size of the breakfast room which got a little crowded, and early one morning the alarm in a room on the same floor went off between 4:30 & 5:00--was someone smoking? Despite the these inconveniences, we would stay here again.
"Nice, comfortable, and affordable "
This hotel was recently renovated; beautiful rooms, a lot if selection for breakfast, and extremely quick wifi. I was checked in by Daniella who was quick and efficient, check-in went by quickly. Shawn the manager greeted everyone in the morning, making my stay much more homey.

"There is a reason it's so cheap - bring earplugs, Clorox wipes, and bug spray."
Disappointing experience overall. This is a decent building, fairly clean and comfortable overall, and the price and proximity to the convention center is good, but it is poorly managed, as evidenced by several items. I stayed three nights during a convention, so I got a pretty good sense of what it's like. There were mostly little things like being informed at check-in that I needed to pay $15 a day to park a car, the pubic hair floating in a smear of goo on the bathroom floor, and the funky smell of my room, along with the incredibly powerful door closers installed on all the room doors that literally rattled the picture frames in my room every tine a neighbor closed their door. But those aren't deal breakers, you expect a little of that in an cheap hotel. The things that pushed me over the top were being woken up at 10 PM on Sunday night after three days of working the event because they decided they needed to re-run my credit card, due to some procedural error on the part of the desk clerk. I was by then sound asleep, and not super happy about getting dressed and going down to the lobby to do that. The last straw was waking up with itchy bug bites on my legs. I don't even want to think about what those might have been - I took my clothing off in my garage when I got home and put everything I was wearing and brought with me straight into the washing machine. And I hope that's the last of that - could just have been fleas if I am lucky. Most of these were by themselves not so horribly offensive to merit a single star rating, but experienced all together it was pretty bad. I was good and irritated on Monday morning about the credit card fiasco, left a message for the GM to please call me (he didn't), so I called him a few hours later to discuss. He offered a tepid non-apology, saying his staff needs more training, and attempting to justify waking me up by explaining a few times that it was really important that they 'capture the revenue' for my room, but nothing in the way of compensation or good will. It all just speaks to an overall lax attitude about cleanliness, courtesy, professionalism, and regard for guests. I was surprised at my experience given the ratings here, and perhaps mine is an isolated case, but as in the title, I'd personally suggest that you stay elsewhere. But if you find the price and the location too tempting to resist, maybe bring along earplugs, bug spray and possibly disinfecting or deodorizing products just in case.No fraud at this time. | RMG | User had a first hand experience at the property.
"It'll do."
We stayed here for a few nights at the end of a 4000 mile road trip. It's not located in a bad spot, it's a short walk over to the beach (I know, it's illegal to walk more than a Block in LA) and close to a fair few amenities. It's pushing value for Money, the rooms are OK, but the Pillows in the rooms are probably the worst I've slept on, they are super cheap and square?! The breakfast was.... Ok. Only had it once, after we found a place around the corner that did amazing breakfasts!

"Great location, excellent hotel"
Walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, museum. If you are strolling, it only takes 20 min to get to the aquarium and also the mall. Utopia is a wonderful restaurant right across the street. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable. My only dislike was paying for parking. But parking is a premium in that area.

"Great Location, Very comfortable"
Stayed during a trip to visit my daughter in Long Beach...just needed one night before having to get up early to catch a flight. Had a corner room, king size bed. Very clean, and comfortable in a great location. Breakfast opens at 6:30 am includes waffles, YUM...and yogurt, pastries, fruit, and cereal options. Check-in and check-out process easy. My only minor complaint was that the pillows weren't terribly comfortable. Oh well...everything else was great, including the price!

"Terrific staff, really comfortable accommodations"
I spent 6 days at the Best Western Plus while attending a conference at a more expensive locale. The staff at Best Western Plus were all really friendly from the cleaning folks to the front desk. I arrived early, but my room was waiting. The front desk made a point of telling me that they had given me a room far away from the elevator as I had requested in the booking. I felt welcomed every time I walked into the hotel. They booked my Super Shuttle Ride back to the airport and gave suggestions about safe routes to follow when walking around the area at night. When a friend came to visit me for the evening, they extended her complimentary parking in the hotel garage. My room was large, hot water was plentiful. The bed was really comfortable. I never had the breakfast that is included in the price of the room so I can't speak to either the quality of the food. I did walk through the breakfast area once on my way to the business center and the room seemed perfectly pleasant. Some reviews have complained that the decor is dated. I found the rooms to be every bit as up-to-date as fancier hotels. The lobby, breakfast room and business center were not fancy: they were homey which was fine with me, as I value coziness and warm service over glitz. There is a really good Italian restaurant across the street and a homey coffee shop several doors down. I liked the artsy neighborhood. While the hotel was extremely quiet on 5 of my 6 nights that I stayed, I had noisy neighbors my last night -- fortunately I had to be up quite late working, otherwise I might have found it hard to sleep.

"Great customer service"
It was the best weekend of my life. Everything went perfectly. The best things about the hotel would be the breakfast and the concierge. The customer service was amazing! I would 10 out of 10. I recommended it to a couple of my friends. Ellie the concierge was my favorite at the hotel! Very helpful, patient and kind. I thanked her a million times for helping my friend and I with our bags, giving us directions or tips for going out into the town. I love this hotel and i will be back!

"Cubs Win!"
Booked this trip before the world series and was happy with the price I paid compared to other hotels. Parking was much cheaper here than other hotels in the area. Great & helpful Front Desk staff. Great water pressure. Pollows are a bit too fluffy for my liking and the bed was very firm. For a free breakfast it aint bad. The cubs won the series while I stayed there so it is obviously good luck!

"Nice hotel, but go to a different beach"
The hotel was nice, the staff were friendly and breakfast was good. We did have to pay an extra fee each night for parking that I hadn't planned on, so be aware of that. If you're looking to enjoy the beach while you're here check the reviews first. I wish I had. The beach itself was not what I expected and I was very disappointed. Next time we will go to a different beach.

"The night before a cruise ??"
Upon arrival the staff greeted us with smiles and friendliness ??The grounds are impeccably clean??The rooms luxurious for a mid priced hotel?? The beds comfortable ??The continental breakfast had a huge selection ??Bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, all the usual breads, muffins, yogurts, fruits, waffles, pancakes. The rooms had upscale toiletries ?? Parking is $15.00 usd per day??The location is across the street from restaurants ??It's only 1.1 mile from the Queen Mary?? A perk we found is it's only 3 walking blocks to the passport ?? The passport is a free bus that takes you all around the city??I would say it was a great deal ??Excellent property ??I would definitely go back??

"Great stay!"
Terrific 3-star hotel! Affordable, veryvery clean, comfortable beds with super-comfortable pillows, and the bathroom was bigger than in the 4-star Dallas Sheraton Hotel. Staff was pleasant and responsive. The continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with make-your-own waffles, sausage, eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, and the usual muffins and danish. My teenagers each found something they like to eat--not an easy feat! The bouquets of fresh lilies everywhere were a classy touch. We will be back the next time we travel to L.A.!

"a very nice stay"
Staff was pleasant, efficient and helpful. My room had just been redone and was clean comfortable and quiet. It was so large and roomy it looked as though they had combined two small rooms to make a very nice suite. The room rate was VERY reasonable for the amenities that I enjoyed. Air conditioning worked great. The room was supplied with a hair dryer, a fridge and a coffee maker. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again if the need arises.

"Great Helpfull staff"
Can't say enough abut the professional ,friendly and helpful staff. Though I was delayed due to business issues they organised and assisted my daughter in checking in. Even though she was also delayed the room was ready as promised.

needs food service, snakes, coffee, drinks instead of vending machines. Overall staff was excellent. Restaurants were close for a good variety of options. Easy access to freeway, walking around downtown. clean parking was secure, Clean rooms, clean area all around. looks like it was just rebuilt. I just signed up for their awards program that gives you points for stays. sleeping was great, the bed was most comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the Long Beach area.

"Superb Stay!"
I called the hotel in advance to see if it would meet my needs as I was staying for 6 days for a conference nearby. I had requested a refrigerator, access to a microwave, and breakfast. The Best Western Plus at the Convention Center had all of this. It also has a small pool and a spacious exercise room, although I did not use either. Specially a special thanks goes to Shawn, the hotel manager, who took great care to make sure my room was exactly what I wanted. He even showed me other rooms to see if the view was more to my liking, before I unpacked and did everything to make me feel at home and comfortable. He assured me I was in a quiet room and I would like it. He was right! Additionally, special thanks goes to the cleaning staff and front office staff, as they were superb in recommending great local restaurants to eat at and helped me find everything around town. The hotel breakfasts were standard. I wish they had had bananas, but there was enough to choose from. One special note of excellent service was: on my last full day in Long Beach, when I told the front desk staff I was going to use Lyft for the first time to explore and was a little nervous and not sure if I used the app correctly, the manger Shawn, actually walked out to my driver when he arrived to ensure that the driver and I knew exactly where I was going, and how to use the app to get back. I have never had that level of excellent service at what one might think is a chain hotel. I felt like I was staying with friends and felt very respected and well cared for! To describe the rooms, each room in the hotel has a fridge, a spacious bathroom, enough toiletries, including toothbrush and toothpaste if you forgot anything, hairdryers, cable, and the downstairs breakfast area door is open 24 hours to use the microwave. As far as locality, the location was perfect as well. It was set off the main drag and nearby some great restaurants and bars so you don't have to walk too far to eat or have a night cap. As far as the overall look inside, the hotel was neat, there were fresh flowers on every floor, regular cleaning every day and a good smell and feel about the place. There was also a water cooler with fruit infused downstairs where I could fill up my bottle every morning and night and always, always help when I needed it! The last day the cleaning staff manager knocked on my door to check to make sure the cleaning of my room had been satisfactory and when I needed a trash bag for my carry out container, one of the staff was eager to go and get it for me! I will definitely stay here again. This place is extremely well run, the manager can been seen making daily rounds to check the floors and rooms, and the hotel has kind and courteous staff and is very safe as the doors lock every night. Long Beach overall is a very safe place to be and people walk all night around the area and it is very tourist friendly. Overall Great Stay! Thanks everyone~!

"Customer Service for Leisure Stay"

"No real problems, property is just not special"
The hotel is convenient to Long Beach downtown happenings. Rooms are decently sized and clean. Given the pricing though, there are other truly 5 star competitors nearby which compare favorably. The hotel does offer balconies on many rooms, but only the west and south exposures offer street views. The hotel tends to be noisy, particularly at night and when the maids begin work rather early in the morning.

"Incompetent Staff"
I requested late check out when checking in and was told I could check out at 2 p.m. The day of check out, the cleaning staff ignored the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and called the front desk when I denied them entry. The front desk reminded me that I was supposed to check out by 11. I told her I had a late check out and she said she saw it in my record and that she must have missed it. She confirmed my 2 p.m. check out. I received another call about 30 mins later from another staff member stating that I had to be out of the room by 1230 or I would be charged. If they had of informed me of the check out time initially, it wouldn't have been an issue.

The 2:00 pm checkout time was only reserved for marathon runners who requested this time and were departing on the Sunday afternoon after their race. This departure time wasn't available any other days with out an extra charge, however our regular check out time posted is 11:00 am. "Great hotel"
I stayed at the best western plus in Long Beach for 3 nights in October. I was very impressed with this hotel. The front desk clerk who checked me in my first night was fantastic. All of the staff at this hotel are super friendly and wonderful to deal with. The room was very clean and the provided toiletries are fantastic, everything you could need. The room was spacious and even had a small fridge, the only thing that would make it better would be to provide a microwave in each room as well. There was one available in the breakfast room, but it is inconvenient to have to go all the way down there to heat your food should you choose. Other than that there are no complaints ,a decent breakfast provided each morning as well enough to get you going for the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the pre cruise stay or for a longer stay in Long Beach area. I will definitely stay there again.

"Decent place, great location"
Backpacking through Cali staying mainly in hostels. This place was cheapest and I have to say, it was brilliant. Nice clean room, powerful a/c and breakfast was lovely! Recommend this place for sure!!

"Well managed- happy employees"
Smiles and service are what you can expect from every employee you encounter. Clearly, this is a well-managed crew by manager Shan Jones. He's not a back room manager. He is warm toward guests and checks in with them to make sure their stay is very comfortable. The staff both counter staff and maid service go the extra mile. Thee location .4 mile away from the convention center was easy. We will keep this on my calendar for our annual meetings!

"Would revisit "
Stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed the stay. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and appear as on website. The beds were also comfortable. The staff were really friendly, advising us about the area and offering directions. I would defiantly revisit this hotel.

"A Gem!"
This Best Western is a gem! Excellent service all around. Front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our maid was also helpful and made sure we had what we needed. Premises are clean and sanitary. Location is excellent - close to everything - easy drive to the beaches and LA. Would visit again, definitely...and I traveled with two teenage girls, ages 17 and 18 - they too, loved this Best Western!

"Impressed with the charm and quality of this small hotel"
Booked this hotel because I had a interview the next day near the area. The price was about right for my needs which were a clean bed and shower. I did not expect much than that. I was pleasantly surprised when I got there. Very charming hotel. Room was spacious with lots of storage space and refrigerator. Very clean. AC works fine. Bathroom was also large and there were all kind of bathroom supplies, such as shaving kit and tooth brush with tiny tooth paste. Very cool and also very hard to find these days. Had complimentary breakfast in the morning which was good. Parking was also complimentary. Loved my stay. Good job Best Western Convention Center.

"Good Surprise"
We had not stayed at a Best Western recently so we were pleasantly surprised at the nice décor, cleanliness and amenities at this hotel. It was a short walk to the Passport shuttle which we used to attend an event at the Rainbow Lagoon. Perfect in everyway! Enjoyed the breakfast and the pool.

"Great stay"
Overall experience was great. The room was larger than expected and the front desk did everything they could to accommodate us. Special shout-out to receptionist Dilcia, she was superb. She helped with everything from last minute room changes/upgrades, to adjustments in parking. Other staff was friendly as well, but Dilcia stood out to us during our visit!

"My Long Beach Go To"
We were in room 328. The view was that of the "courtyard," aka the parking lot entrance, but the room was very nice. There were ample amenities in the restroom: toothbrush, razor, lotion, soaps, etc. My ONLY complaint was that the bathtub stopper didn't seem to work and, in fact, came out completely. In my morning rush, to my regret, I neglected to tell staff. Staff were great; both friendly and helpful, I just know they would've attempted a quick resolution. Parking is an extra $15 by the way.

"Bad Customer Service"
Service staff was not friendly. They were very inexperienced and unable to handle check in procedure. They do not accomodate additional towel requests. You are rationed to one towel every other day. Terrible experience.

"A Fine time in Long Beach"
Staying at this downtown hotel property was an excellent experience. Great location, friendly professional responsive staff, full ready breakfast every morning, great internet, in room TV operation and choices were way above average for any hotel stay I had previously this year. Great location include access to convention center a short pleasant walk about. Plenty of locale transportation near by. Wide variety of independent quality restaurants within two blocks in any direction and very close to a major grocery store. Great value for the price. "Area Does No Justice for This Gem... "
Generally a pretty squared away hotel with welcoming surroundings. The service staff were always attentive and quick to respond; nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean and very well kept throughout our stay. Breakfast area needs more space. But the area is well taken care of. But let me make sure I mention the staff again... They were amazing!

"Great Location"
Like many other reviewers it has been many years since I stayed at a Best Western property. With the positive reviews seen on here I gave this place a shot. It was certainly OK but not someplace i would seek out. Very close to Pike Street and about a 20 minute walk to the attractions on the water. My room had a balcony that faced an apartment building about 20 feet away.

"Would Definitely Stay Again!"
I picked this hotel due to it's close proximity to an event at the Queen Mary. I stay with 3 other people, and it was great. The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, well decorated, and there were fresh flowers on every floor. The location was perfect - we were able to easily walk to get groceries and breakfast. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

"Perfect location"
The Best Western at Long Beach was the perfect location for access to the Convention Center. Great restaurants close by. The room was very clean; price was perfect. Could be noisy if you have a room by the street. Price includes Continental breakfast, which is very nice. No complaints. Would definitely stay again.

"not sure what this means"
Marriott Rooms were $157.00, Other hotels rate was less than Best Western. However, this was a last minute decision. The host hotel rate was $50.00 a night less than Best Western Plus. However, it served the purpose since it was last minute. My friend enjoyed the stay also. We were not expecting Breakfast. This was a nice treat and certainly a savings. Don't think those other hotels offered Breakfast.

"Best Western is becoming best, again"
Nice place in Long Beach,this one is, and the overall quality is right up there, maybe surpassing with Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn. Going to be honest here, for years I avoided BWs on business and family travel because I got jammed in a few shabby rooms. Maybe it's because most my travel is back east - but the BWs out west, really seem pleasing, authentic. The location is also a highlight. Long Beach seems to be regenerating itself, and this location is in the thick of some pretty streets, sidewalk cafes, and not far from the beach. I walked to the aquarium from the hotel after dinner. Nice going

"Nice Surprise, cool restaurants across the street on both corners!!"
This is a best western but they have raised the bar. The location is great, the hotel is modern and very very clean. My room was very nice, I'm pretty spoiled with hotels and I actually had an opportunity to move to the big Renaissance down the street with other travelers and declined. I was there on business so didn't use the fitness center or even look at the pool but if you want a good hotel at a good "convention" price this is good. I will say my co-worker didn't reserve with a third party like I did and was charged a $100 more than me. Check out Hotels.com or others before making reservation. I paid $179 per night.

"Great stay and location"
My daughter and I stayed here two nights for a gymnastics competition. The room decor and overall hotel cleanliness were excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly. The parking was convenient (though it should be for $15/day). We were able to walk to anything we needed in the area (attractions, shopping, food and the competition). The only area that I felt could use some improvement was the breakfast. For the quality of this hotel, I would have expected more options, maybe some fresh fruit. However, I would rank this as the nicest hotel we stayed in during our 3-week road trip!

"Great Family Reunion Trip 2016"
My family and I celebrated our 5th year family reunion in Long Beach, CA. It was five wonderful nights at the Best Western Plus hotel. The manager, Shawn, was so kind and made sure that our accommodations were beyond satisfactory. The staff were very courteous, and whatever we needed they were just a phone call away, in other words, the service was EXCELLENT. The rooms were very clean and the location FANTASTIC. We were in walking distance to some great restaurants like Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles were one day our breakfast fellowship was hosted. We also were near a great shopping mall and Comedy Theater. All within walking distance. The parking at the hotel was great, plenty a space. I only had one criticism that I never brought to the manager's attention, not enough hot water. And I am quite sure that he would have done something to solve the problem. Over all I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus and I would stay again. That is the reason why I am still a rewards member.

"Poor Amenities"
The pool is the size of a bath tub and the fitness center has basically nothing but cardio. They also don't run the AC throughout the building. It's cooler outside than inside. Very uncomfortable. Would recommend somewhere else for sure. We were here for business and I had to change suit shirts due to sweating through my shirts multiple times here just waiting for the 1 elevator for the entire facility. Very bad.

"Suprisingly excellent"
Don't be fooled by the exterior that looks small. A thoroughly modern hotel with all of the amenities await inside! Newly redone rooms and bathroom with fine finishing. A decent breakfast with lots of selection. It has it all. Wish I could have stayed longer.

"Long Beach Best Western"
Business trip. Stayed at a Best Western several times before. This hotel was clean, staff was efficient. This hotel is conveniently located in the middle of town. Lots of restaurants near by and I would definitely stay at Best Western again.

"Great Nursing Conference at the Beach"
Our stay at this hotel was made all the better due to both the front desk staff and the General Manager Shawn Jones who seemed to be there all day and night. Very helpful with restaurant recommendations and places to see aside from the long days at the Convention Center. I would highly recommend the Best Western Plus to anyone headed to the Long Beach area.

"Clean comfortable room"
Have stayed here before when we go to the Long Beach Scuba Show. Just about a 5-10 minute walk to the Convention Center. Smaller, more intimate property than the Hyatt, which is the host hotel. No long waits to get on the elevator when the show is done for the day. Decent breakfast is included (the eggs are a bit funky). $15/day to park but no phony "resort fee".

"Long Beach California"
We were in California for a grandchild's high school graduation and the Best Western was a good choice for a place to stay. The location was great not that far from Ocean Drive and an easy walk to many restaurants.

"Long Beach Stay"
The room was very nice, had extras if your got anything. Great location, almost walking distance to most restraunts and bars. Got there before check in time. 1:15pm our room was ready so the let us go ahead and check in.

"Great location, excellent service"
I was looking for an affordable yet pleasant place to stay while in Long Beach. This hotel exceeded my expectations by being recently updated, comfortable, full of amenities, and thoughtful staff. Throughout my whole stay, the staff was going above and beyond to make sure I was taken care off--even in things I didn't ask for! The icing on the cake is when I realized I left expensive items in the room while at the airport waiting to board my flight. I called and their staff took care of locating and sending the items back. Shawn, in particular, ensured that I would receive my items and even took it to FedEx himself. Very grateful for the incredible customer service from start to finish. Thank you, Best Western!

"Long Beach / Huntington Beach / Newport Beach "
Great price, service was excellent , room was clean and sheets cleaned as well, only 2 blocks from beach and gym-pool-wi fi - and located near amazing restaurants steakhouses , vons and starbucks. Parking has a 15$ a day charge and $100 deposit for room and take card not cash.

"Best Western Plus Was Great for Us."
We stayed for 3 nights while exhibiting at the Scuba Show at the Long Beach Convention Center. It was conveniently located, a 2-block walk to the Convention Center. Reservations, check-in, and check-out were super easy. We had some special needs, dealing with our booth shipment and storage, and Shawn, the manager, and the entire staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of convenient parking (not free, but very reasonable). The room was surprisingly nice. Large, clean, great bed, great bathroom. TV, fridge, the works. I rate the shower a "5". I didn't have to stoop down to get water on my head (I don't know why so many shower heads are located for midgets). Good, hard water pressure. They provided a razor, toothbrush, toothpaste etc., just in case you needed it. Quiet room. Good breakfast included. We'll be back next year.

Its really unfortunate the company that was responsible for your equipment to get here was incompetent to deliver. "People, Price, Place: good. Parking: not so good"
Clean newer hotel, nice wide hallways, good rooms (with doorbells!!) And I loved the makeup remover, toothbrush and razor with the complementary toiletries! Breakfast was OK (I don't trust those uniform omelets made of mystery liquid-egg product) but coffee was good. But you can always go out to breakfast because location was excellent. And the staff was mostly very professional (except for one maintenance guy who outright lied!) The underground parking is $15/night but some nights there was a problem parking because the hotel chooses to rent long-term parking to local residents. There was a car who repeatedly blocked the access lane and nothing was ever done about it, I guess because hotel guests will be gone soon so why bother. That spoiled what was otherwise a great stay.

The hotel itself does not rent out parking spot to nearby apartment renters but the owners of the building and management company rent out several of our parking spots. My online booking had a date discrepancy and the manager, Shawn Jones, took care of it in a professional and courteous manner. Staff were all super nice and helpful. Beautiful location conveniently located near numerous restaurants and shopping. Close to Carnival Cruise Long Beach Port and The Queen Mary Ship Hotel/Restaurant. Nice Pool, comfortable beds, clean rooms. Free breakfast was what you could expect for free, you get what you pay for. Good idea to just grab something quick, like yogurt, bagel or fruit. It was really crowded. Getting to breakfast early would be the best idea. Absolutely awesome bathroom amenities. FYI Parking is extra $.

"Great hotel, very pleasant staff"
Very pretty part of town. Hotel was very clean, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Love hotels with free hot breakfast! Wireless internet worked very well, and heard no noise from neighbors or hallway.

"Great price.. Good location"
This is your basic nice clean hotel. We have stayed here twice due to work in the area and needed a safe secure place to park our work vehicle. The price usually fits our budget and the staff have always been pleasant. Rooms are nice and the location is within walking distance to the beach and lots of dining. We recommend trying Beachwood BBQ. Craft beers and excellent food.

"Nice Place If You Don't Like Sleeping"
This hotel gave me Room# 232 next to the ice machine and the elevator. I stayed 2 nights, a Wednesday and a Thursday. The room was pretty clean. The room was dark with insufficient electric lighting. There was a safe in the room that didn't work. The noise from the hall sounded like a frat house with revelers coursing through the halls talking like they were in a park until 1 AM. The rooms on the hall I stayed on have windows overlooking a courtyard that is used for short term parking which means cars are pulling in and out all night. Not to mention the motorcycle and modified exhaust truck revving contests. I notice other rooms were seperated from the parking by a hall between the windows and their front door. Must be nice. My window was directly on the parking lot. One night about midnight I heard conversation in the hall. I laid in bed waiting for it to stop. I finally got out of bed, put on my robe and glasses, and opened the door to ask whoever was chatting out there to move on. I made up my mind to be civil and polite when I confronted these chatterboxes of rhe Best Western. When I opened the door I saw it was one 20-something hipster who had decided the alcove for the ice machine was a cozy spot for him to stand and use his cell phone. I angrily rebuked him and told him to do that somewhere else, "please". So if you are a frat boy type who'd like to meet your peers and party all night you might like this place. The next time I go to Long Beach I'll be looking elsewhere to try to find a place where I can actually sleep.

Had great experience. This hotel offers great comfy rooms and lots of extra. New remodeled look makes your stay a pleasure. Friendly, nice staff makes it welcoming and they are always ready to assist you. Recommend this hotel to others.

"Ultra-Modern Hotel in Downtown Long Beach"
This Best Western is either new or newly renovated. Great for business with a good desk set-up. Convenient elevator from garage to room floors. Fresh fragrant flower arrangement by the elevator on my floor.

"Good location in Longbeach"
This hotel was not the conference hotel but an overflow hotel and worked out great for me. It was near a grocery store and many restaurants and had a good breakfast. The only issues were the pool was really cold and rooms are pretty small compared to others I have stayed in. It felt like a New York room. It was only a few blocks walk to the convention center which I enjoyed and didn't mind at all.

"Short but sweet!"
We stayed for one night before our cruise. It was a clean hotel with very comfortable rooms. It looks like there were some major renovations done and the carpet on the floor looked brand new and immaculate. The desk attendants were very friendly and helpful. It provides a very nice breakfast in the morning of eggs, waffles, cereal, pastries etc. I would definitely stay here again before a cruise or if in the area. The cab to the Carnival pier was only $10.

"Pleasent stay"
I have been to best western long beach many times. The service is great and location is also very good. Hotel staff are very helpful and polite. I had to check out early, the hotel staff helped me by keeping my bags in hotel itself and i got it back in evening without any problem.
"Good Location, Comfortable"
We stayed for 4 nights at the end of a cruise. The location makes it easy to get around by public transport. The room was bigger than average and the bed huge and comfortable. Free breakfast was adequate but the dining room a bit crowded at times. Internet was a sometimes patchy. Overall good value and very comfortable.
"Nice Stay"
We were only in town for the night...however there was a convention that had everything booked. Luckily we had a reservation, we just couldn't check in early as we hoped. The front desk staff was very kind and apologetic and I stopped back in at 3 (standard check in time) and checked in without a hitch. The room was clean and seemed newly renovated. Not too big, not too small. AC, TV and all standards were in good form. Overall pleasant stay. Tip: If you sleep in and miss the complimentary breakfast - as we did - across the street is a nice coffee shop, Village Grind, where we got a great breakfast and tasty coffee.
"Long beach vacation"
The hotel was i a very good location that no only accents the new Long Beach, but also the remolded but remained the old style that existed in the forties. I remember seeing pictures of when I was born and the style that was unique to that era. The places to eat and the shopping, plus the marina environment were excellently located as to the hotel. Services and the hotel were great.
"Excellent Property"
This hotel went beyond my expectations for a Best Western. My room looked out over Linden Street. It was amazing. And the beds were to die for comfortable. I was there on business attending a convention. It was an easy walk to the convention center.

Lack of follow-up on request and staff support was non existent. You have two e staff people in back chatting while one is on the phone and three guests in line to check in. Really! First and last time! Should have known......

"Don't Bother"
Take my advice and stay anywhere else besides this hotel. The beds are like hammocks, the pillows like rocks. Forget it if you expect anyone to go beyond the bare minimum. The value is terrible. There was no refrigerator in our room and no micro wave. The beds were very small and not the same size as promised.

This Best Western was a really pleasant stay during a busy time. Staff was EXCELLENT ! Room was Clean and Cleaning Staff also was most kind. Breakfast was adequate ~ but the server was, once again, Great! Bravo!
"Near Convention Center"
Comfortable accommodations near Convention Center (just a few blocks) with several good restaurants nearby. Quiet internally, some traffic depending on your room location. Very friendly, helpful staff. Above average breakfast as far as number of items offered. Rooms are currently being updated I understand, mine was a little dated, but a friend said her remodeled room was very nice. Coffee maker in room.

"Fine Stay - nice new room"
I was in Long Beach for a weekend conference and the Best Western was a good choice. It was within walking distance for me from the Convention Center, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was OK - a bit crowded in a small room. My room was great and very comfortable. Looks to have been recently renovated. It was a very good nights sleep.

"Just ok"
Came for a conference. It's a healthy walk to convention center. Rooms are being refurbished. I unfortunately got an older one. Bed was comfortable, clean and helpful staff. Other wise I wouldn't stay. Breakfast is usual microwave eggs and sausage. Coffee not good.

"Bad Service"
Not all of our rooms were ready at the 3:00 check in and we were told we were lucky to have 5 of the 6. The breakfast room was packed. The food ran out and there was no coffee made when it opened at 6:30 AM. One of our rooms was just remodeled. It smelled so bad from fumes that our throats were burning in the morning.

Dear T170ZXjenniferh, I'm sorry to hear that despite our best efforts to have your rooms ready that you were not satisfied with your stay. During your arrival we were experiencing a high volume of check ins including a large group that came in a bus which were in our lobby. Because you had arrived earlier we had given you priority and we tried to have your rooms done as soon as our guests were checking out; however, we had many other guests that were requesting rooms as well and we were trying to assist everyone. I am surprised to hear that you smelled fumes, we inspect all our rooms before renting them out, because everything is new perhaps the smell that you are referring to is from the carpet and furniture which are all brand new. You are right, our breakfast area gets busy on weekends and many of our guests come down to enjoy their complimentary hot breakfast, we do our best to replenish the food throughout the morning. Our coffee machine is available 24 hours, when it gets busy it may require a minute to heat up the hot water reserve. If at any point you require any assistance with the food or anything else, please let our staff know, we are always more than glad to help! "Would Recommend"
All aspects of my stay was positive. It was a bit pricey, however, because of its location to the Convention Center. Nothing special about the breakfast. Average. Better eat fast as at 9:30, every bit of food is removed QUICKLY.

we arrived very early and the receptionist was extremely helpful and suggested some locations to see while in Long Beach. The bed was very comfortable .Had a good nights sleep. Very quiet place and I was able to enjoy the time I was there in hotel

"Excellent genuine customer service - 01/15/16"
I was checked in/out by Michelle at the front desk. The property was very nice and clean. We were welcomed as we entered and able to get checked in efficiently. I liked the fact there were waters, a snack and a fresh remote waiting when I went in the room. Michelle helped me out by printing my tickets so I could make it to my convention on time. My room was not near current construction work being done, so I have no complaints. I also had a mini fridge in my room (apparently not all rooms have that). Front desk staff were very friendly. Location was great (not on main street so less noise than could be expected at other places). Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. If you wanted, could also walk to wharf, shopping area, aquarium, lighthouse and more restaurants. No hesitation to recommend this facility.
"Excellent Long Beach Conference Hotel"
Best Western is close enough to the LB Convention center, as long as you don't mind walking 15 mins or so. I did not, and I love the morning stroll amongst the palm trees. The local "characters" were never any trouble.

"Fabulous stay and courteous staff"
The staff at the front desk were so friendly and courteous. They made check in a breeze! The room was very clean and a nice size. I really liked the continental breakfast. Many breakfast choices to choose from. The location of the hotel was not too far from beach and to great places to eat. I would definitely stay here again!

"Great staff and great friendly service"
I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. Location is great and central to everything. The pool was a bit disappointing and the gym could have some free weights. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Wifi in rooms were great.

"Never Again"
The location is alright. However the front desk employee, Adrian was Terrible!!! Had NO customer service at all! Didn't ask me how my stay was and wouldn't cancel my last day that I was staying here even though another employee from my same group was able to cancel. I asked why? He said I was under a different reservation.. "From a third party" he said. However we both booked under the same phone # on the the same day within 15 min of each other, I asked for a supervisor over 3 times and he wouldn't go or call for one! My experience from this was not pleasant! There's alot of other hotels around there, I would stay at a different one if I have to go down there for work again! Also he never told me if I have Wifi either. The breakfast was alright. I've been working retail for over 15 years and have seen it all. There's ways to treat guests and how Adrian presented himself was very poor. Not staying here again!

"wonderful stay!"
I was met by the most welcoming and friendly attendant I have ever encountered at the front desk for an easy check in. Although the room was a bit small, there was a gift bag of refreshments and water awaiting me in my room as well as lemon infused ice water all day in the lobby and fresh flowers in the hallways. The room was clean, the breakfast was plentiful and stocked frequently, and although there was a fee for parking it was easier than finding a spot in the neighborhood. It took me approximately 7 or 8 minutes each day to walk to the convention center. It appeared to be a safe walk with some shops and small restaurants along the way. There is a grocery store a block or two away in the opposite direction. My husband and two pre-teen daughters joined me half-way through the conference and enjoyed the accommodations and surroundings as well. If you are ok with being just a few blocks away from the convention center with a free breakfast not offered by the more expensive hotels around the corner, this is the place for you!

It was close to a variety of places to eat, attractions , buses to Queen Mary and Ferry terminal. It was also an easy walk to grocery store and shops. Rooms were nice size, clean, easy access. Staff was very friendly. Good breakfast also.
"Never again"
Even though it has a great location I would never book this hotel again. Dated interior, ice cold indoor pool and a breakfast room that can only hold 20 people at max. This hotel is a joke. Rooms are normal sized with tiny beds, bedsheets had holes all over. Carpet was ripped. Other than that it was at least clean.

Dear Thomas K, I am surprised to hear that your linen had holes, they are delivered daily by laundry service and they are inspected both by our supplier as well as our head housekeepers every day after our rooms are cleaned. Some parts of our hotel such as our lobby, breakfast area, pool, business center, etc. were just recently renovated this year and we look forward to our renovations of our rooms after the New Year. We want to update our rooms and make them as welcoming and modern as the rest of our hotel. It seems that perhaps you stayed in one of our rooms with two double beds, usually this room accommodates our guests here for conventions or small children quite well; however, I can understand how the beds may be a bit small when there are multiple persons occupying the room. Depending on the needs of our guests with also have single rooms with one king size available. I hope that you will give us the opportunity to stay with us again in the future after our renovations are complete and so that we can have a second chance to provide you with a better experience. "Great Place to Stay in Long Beach"
This hotel had everything needed for a pre-cruise stay. The great location offered an easy walk to Long Beach attractions, the free Passport Bus, the metro train to downtown LA, and many restaurants and bars. The staff was friendly and considerate. The room was lovely, clean and well serviced. The free hot breakfast provided variety and was well stocked. I would stay here again without hesitation.
"Overall a good stay"
Overall we usually have a good stay at this hotel. This time there were about four people that were checked into the room next to us at about 1:30am and they were very noisy. We did not report the problem. Although other than that issue, it was a good stay.
"Long Beach, CA Wedding"
We had not stayed at a Best Western property and enjoyed Long Beach. The rooms are quiet, clean and the bedding is very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again on future trips. The hotel is also in a very good location, near lots of shops and a variety of restaurants. Easy access to the beach as well.

Convenient location Friendly staff This is a hotel located quit in the centre of long beach. It is a relatively quiet street and nice neighbourhood. The staff is friendly and help some. The hotel rooms are fitted with wall-to-wall carpets and after their “best until” time. The breakfast area is very small and the variation is not so big. Manly carbohydrates. The WIFI works good. The pool and gym is small and ventilation is very absent

Very nice hotel! We enjoyed the location, great restaurants, sightseeing,, etc. We came for a funeral in San Pedro, CA and it was a good location for getting there The staff was helpful with directions, and restaurant information.. Five members of our extended family stayed at Best Western Plus.
"Average."
Downtown location is convenient for most people, the hotel is fine. Noisy, can hear a lot of noise from other rooms. The $15 parking fee is typical for downtown hotels. Would be a bonus if they could provide the small fridges typical in most hotels instead of very strange amenities, like a bathroom scale?? Do people seriously need to weigh themselves each day?? and what is with each room having its own 'doorbell'?? really?
"Very good hotel near convention center"
This hotel was very good for attendance to a Conference at Long Beach Conference Center. There are several restaurants within walking distance. I did not have time to use the fitness center. There is a overnight parking fee, but you can leave your car in the hotel and walk to the conference center. I will stay again at this place.

Only double size beds not queens so a little tight for two and no King rooms were available. Fairly quiet halls. 5-10 minute walk to convention center. Nice breakfast offering. Pleasant staff. Did not check out pool or exercise room.

"Halloween stay"
My girlfriend and I booked this hotel last minute for a Halloween weekend trip and were basically just expecting a place to sleep. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice and new the whole place looked and felt. The rooms were clean and a decent size. Check in was really quick and easy. The only issue we had with this trip was with the hotel site Amoma, we booked through them and when we arrived at the hotel there was no record of our payment, luckily Joanne M at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we were not over charged for our stay. She asked for us to forward her the confirmation emails we had received so she could try and clear up the issue. When I called down the following morning she had worked everything out for us and saved my girlfriend and I what could have turned into huge headache and ordeal. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Long Beach area.
"Good rooms and Location"
This should be 3.5 but cant do that. The rooms are nice and clean and well appointed except for the lack of a fridge, a big minus for me. Also the breakfast was not up to the standard I am used to so I went out for breakfast. Location is excellent and staff friendly, plenty of parking.

This hotel was excellent... The food for breakfast was good. The room was clean. More importantly, it was the extra things the staff did. "Great Location and Staff"
This is my fourth stay at this facility. All for pleasure. The staff are very nice. The rooms are not huge but are nicely appointed. Shower is good and has a bar to hold on to and also a rubber mat which I like. Lots of ammenities in the bathroom. Breakfast has lots of choices and is well stocked. The location is great. Very accessible to Blue Line Light Rail, Long Beach transit and FREE Passport shuttle. No rooms have refrigerators or microwaves but lots of dining options close and two blocks from a huge Vons grocery store. This is my go to hotel in Long Beach.

Room quality ok. Room was clean and well stocked. Air condtioning unit didn't keep things at a constant temperature. Room sometimes too hot or too cold. Excellent support from front desk. Parking is $15.00 per night addtional. Be careful when parking in the lot. Lots of blind curves.

A nice and clean hotel. Features better than I had expected. Clerks very friendly, willing to give suggestions for tourist attractions and offering directions. Comfortable beds, free breakfast, but not the best I've eaten.

We stayed here for one night before we took a cruise. It was nice and clean and had a decent breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful, they were under construction at the time so things were a little unorganized but that's understandable when things are being moved around and what not. We spent very little time there so I don't have much to say other than it was clean and comfy and served it's purpose which was all we needed for one night. I'd stay again if needed

Perfect for business stay and also for pleasure, it was in a great location within walking distance to convention center and many local attractions and shopping. I was greeting upon arrival with a goodie bag and a thank you card for my stay, the breakfast was very good no complaints there.I will for sure stay again.

"Consistent every time"
I've stayed here a few times and always get consistent, friendly people and great rooms. I can't ask for more than that after 12 hour drives from Colorado. I don't like paying $15 a day for parking, but it's got to be easier and more secure than trying to find a street lot, if there even is one. Again, extremely clean, super fast WiFi, and they can accommodate anything that might come up. Thanks!
"Excellent Customer Service"
We stayed here as we were participating in the Long Beach Marathon and the location was excellent!! It was a comfortable stay and the staff has the best customer service. It was enjoyable not having to worry about finding a place for breakfast as the breakfast was really good. This location was not too far from the waterfront, but if you are planning to walk it is about a 20 min walk. If using a taxi, it cost about $6 one way. It was also only 3 blocks to the parking lot where the start/finish line was.

The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful! Breakfast was delicious, they have this tasty citrus-water that is to die-for on the daily! My room was clean, fresh-smelling, and cozy. I couldn't have asked for a better stay, and I will definitely stay at this wonderful hotel again! FIVE STARS.
"Best Western Plus near (not at) the convention center"
Would need to consider before staying here again. This was booked for me and sounded like it was right next to the Long Beach Convention Center. Its not, its about about .3 miles, not real far but far enough to rethink staying there. Staff is friendly, the breakfast is the normal nondescript cereal, some-type of eggs and protein. Floor hallways are hot and stuffy. The room was nice size, bed was comfy and pillows were not. The 3rd floor room looked out over the alley to 3rd floor apartment windows, luckily we both kept our curtains drawn. For needing a place to sleep, clean up and be able to walk to good food, this worked. Some may say it was cheap & cheerful and for the area it was.
"Great hotel for conference"
I was attending a conference at the Long Beach Convention Center. The conference provided us with 4 hotel choices which averaged $200-250 per night. Since I was on a budget, I needed to find alternative lodging. This hotel was very affordable, well below the other hotel costs, not much farther to walk and it came with a very nice breakfast. My colleagues who stayed at the other hotels complained about their breakfast meal costs since their hotels did not provide this amenity.

Stayed here for a week in September, location is good right in the art district, 15 min walk to the Sea Village where there are great restaurants and bars, staff at the hotel were awesome, rooms were clean, did not have breakfast at the hotel as there was a good place called Breakfast Bar right around the corner, plenty of parking, hotel was really quiet even when it was busy, would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay especially if attending the Convention Center. The back of the hotel is quiet for light sleepers. Great safe parking lot down below. Excellent location blocks from everything including a Von's grocery store in walking distance. I will for sure stay there again!

VERY nice quiet place to stay. Staff was wonderful..Easy to find eating places. Central location, safe place. Vons around corner was there in case of emergency. Mexican restaurant up street was very good.

Tried to get early check in. Denied. While waiting for 3:00 check in 4 other people checked in before us, then we were told there was an AC problem in our room. Did we want a different room?DUH!!! Then is was a big deal to change the room. Front desk staff was awful. Never said I'm sorry for the wait! I would not stay here again.
