The room was very musty smelling. The tiled floor was dirty. The pillows were broken down. Bathroom had some mildew in corner of tub. Bathroom ceiling has several water damage spots and no fan to circulate air in there. Plastic pans under the air conditioner for maybe water drips?
I brought my dog and had no problem. The room was clean and well kept. I have found other chains let their "pet allowed rooms" to become out of date with little or no upkeep. The facility was quiet. The only problem was I wasn't used to the A/C fan being always on and it took some time to adjust. The breakfast was well stocked and well prepared, with extra effort to clean the surfaces and pick up any spills by the guests. Good variety of warm items along with bread, pastry, and cereals. The coffee machine is a nice touch
3 stars for the bed. It was comfortable but the headboard looked dirty and there was a tear in the fitted sheet. I think housekeeping might be doing the best they can with working with. The hotel is old and it's REALLY showing. The couch is so badly stained it looks disgusting. So, 1 star for the room. Breakfast was no different or better than at a standard BWH. Not Plus status. So again 1 star. 5 stars for staff members though. Everyone I encountered was very friendly.
The hotel was in a great location and had reasonable rates. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and the lobby were very clean. Breakfast was fabulous. I come in town a few times a year and will definitely be back in December.
Great services. Pleasant staff. Safe parking. Very clean. Professional and friendly front desk. Breakfast was great. Quality everytime. Interent was good. Rooms clean.convient location, close to dinning and shopping. Weight room and pool.
Rooms clean, staff friendly, Just pool was not working. No discount on Medical CANCER patients. For we traveled 2 hours away. So maybe they can take in consideration for the CANCER Patients that Travels. But Overall it was a Nice friendly atmosphere that this Motel. I will stay again
this hotel iseasy to get to.My room and the premises were clean. The staff in the afternoon and mornin were happy and helpful. I'll be back!! my husband and I go visit the son and family down that way. will be going g back in September. I haven't tried the restaurant next door. maybe next time.
Hotel was very pricey. There was a strong odor in the room, several things were broken (ironing board, tv remote)
Offering hot tub, but it was non functional. We have found that at MANY hotels, very disappointing. If it is listed as an amenity it should be a priority that it is available to guests. Finding that you offer the hot tub as a guest amenity but only having a couple select rooms with in room tubs for a higher price just feels like a bait and switch.
I reserved this stay for my friend who grew up in my hometown in MA who is homeless in Missouri. Gave her a warm bed to sleep on and hot breakfast she was incredibly filled with gratitude. What better way to use rewards as a loyalty member but give back and serve those truly in need who lack the basic necessities of life. Aidan at the front desk was phenomenal and went above and beyond to make sure check in was a smooth process and made her stay extraordinary
Please do not stay here. If you'd like pubic hairs in your tub or on your floor in the bathroom, then by all means, please book it. Faucet on tub was falling apart, toilet, kept running, air conditioner, would not cool the room, there were no pillows on the bed besides 4 little squares. People above us kept stomping around and letting their kids run around all night long, beds were absolutely disgusting
Would stay here again. Convenient, hot breakfast, friendly staff. Excellent walking trail at church next to hotel
I use this property quite often on my travels through the KC area. The staff is always friendly and great to work with.
Excellent customer service. I had a small issue with a staff member. The general manager called me the next day to set things right. Very empathetic, reassuring and professional. As for the hotel itself - it was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. The pillows, however, were incredibly lumpy. Not just soft but lumpy. The GM fixed that too though. Breakfast was more than adequate. I would stay again.
This Best Western Staff has to biggest heart everyone was friendly even the housekeepers. Love this hotel keep up the good work! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, hot and kept well stocked. Very impressed
This is our favorite hotel when we come to KC for Chiefs game. Great location. Quiet. Rooms are nice, nice bed and shower. Added bonus was that they have electric chargers. This is our go to hotel when we come to KC
Was in town visiting family for Thanksgiving. I like the location and the staff was very nice. They had a very good breakfast. I would recommend this location. They just need to do a better job with wiping down the room, it was dusty.
We have stayed in this Best Western twice now, and will definitely stay there again on future trips while visiting family. We would highly recommend it. It is clean and is conveniently located for our needs, The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The breakfast has a good array of both hot and cold choices and prepared items are yummy. The breakfast area is big enough to accommodate a good number of people. We have been completely satisfied in every way when staying here.
Comfortably Private and Quiet, Enjoyed the Jacuzzi and Swimming Pool along with the Continental Breakfast. This was a nice and wonderful stay with my husband that we both enjoyed a simple get away close to home
I've stayed at this hotel twice now and have had a great experience both times. One thing that's awesome about this, it's outside KC enough you don't get that high traffic. But drivable to go anywhere you need to. Whether it is shopping, KC Chiefs game or whatever. The location is perfect and this hotel SAFE and exactly what you want to stay at when you're looking for a good night sleep somewhere. And the breakfast was FANTASTIC!!
This is our 2nd time staying @ Best Western Plus Lee's Summit. We appreciate the large room, small sink outside of the bathroom, and the walking trails outside of the hotel. Our room AC had a bit of a funky smell, but we adjusted.
Perfectly adequate hotel. For the price, this was a great place to stay. Rooms and common areas were clean and nice enough. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. King suite with pull out couch has plenty of room for me, my hubby and my teen son. Bonus that there was a fridge, microwave and free breakfast. No frills but great for a cheap stay after a late concert.
This Best Western was clean, friendly staff that were very accommodating . We a TV issue that the front desk immediately resolved, with very friendly service! Since we were going to a wedding the next day, we did not want housekeeping coming thru while we were getting ready. The front desk staff, Michael and Sarah provided us with extra towels, shampoo upon check in, again with friendly service and smiles! Good breakfast.
I should have guess when we came into the front of the hotel that it wasn't going to be like it looked on line . We got to our supposed king suite We opened the door and The smell of dog pee was so bad I about got sick the room was so small my husband and I couldn't get around each other. This room was filthy the headboard above the bed was beyond disgusting and the bathroom the ceiling falling down, We ended up leaving the lady at the front desk after we told her about the situation said oh that's nothing we will send someone to tidy up..um no I'm not staying were it smells like dog pee. we left and went to Holiday Inn Plus a 100 percent better hotel and very very clean and didn't smell. I f I could give no stars to Best Western I would. A very Disgusting hotel
I stayed at this motel for 2 nights due to a power outage at my house. The staff worked with me under my circumstances and I was very pleased with their help. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I also received a discount on my room. I would stay here again.
The staff was friendly and always greeted us when we came in. Room was clean. Restaurants and stores were close where we did not have to go out of our way. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Have stayed many time at this motel. This time we saw many dogs of all sizes with guest. This was disappointing it experience. I am a dog lover but to have dogs in a motel is not good. Leave your dogs home!!!!
really enjoyed the hot breakfast bar relaxing in the pool and soaking up the air conditioning during a good Ole Missouri muggy heat wave. My family and I will most definitely be come back to stay again!
Had a short day trip to Kc. Normally stay at this hotel. This time it fell below my expectations via employee failure. Employees acted as if they were being bothered to do a job. Not paying attention to Elite guest information, etc.
We went for a short weekend stay in Kansas City. I was very happy with the location, cleanliness, and the friendliness of the staff. I will definitely make sure I stay here again when I'm in the area.
his hotel is located in a safe area and right next to an amazing restaurant. You need to uber or drive anywhere else though because there's nothing else around. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and the GREATEST breakfast I've come across for included hotel breakfasts. Lot's of options but the biscuits and gravy is what won me over. There's also a fantastic cappuccino / hot chocolate machine for you to fall in love with. Our uber was $15.00 to arrowhead stadium from this hotel however it was $56.00 for the ride back because of high demand after the game. Can't wait to come again!
Very noisy room and had no sleep. Side entry door slammed all night long. I have made a suggestion to hotel management that they should only allow side entry till about 10 or 11:00 in the evening. Not being able to sleep really defeats the purpose of a hotel room.
We stayed here our of necessity, our home was under construction and the water was shut off 3 days prior to Christmas. The room was neat and clean, the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. We were able to bring our dog with us and there was a lot of areas to take him for walks. Breakfast was hot and full of variety, a little something for everyone. And though we did not use them, this facility has a fitness center and an indoor pool which looked very well kept. My husband and I both were working from the hotel using the free wifi ( we are both in the technology field ) and the internet was lightning fast. The location is great, easy access to highway but far enough away to be quite. Just north of Lee's Summit and South of Independence you are minutes form a lot of entertainment. All in all, a really amazing find and I would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in the area and I will book for my family when the come to visit!
Walls are not noise canceling - heard every movement and word of our neighbors all night. Bathroom sink had barely any water pressure, bathroom fan didn't work, and fridge didn't work and smelt terrible.
For the most part, the place is just fine. The suite room size was good. But egads … I could NOT get past all the cool white lighting! EVERYWHERE! I realize a lot of people aren't bothered by this sort of detail, but if you are, and you hate cool white lighting, don't go near this hotel. Employees were great. Our heat/air system wasn't in good working order. It's an OK place, but I won't ever return.
I came to hotel with my son and some friends. The hotel was clean and felt very safe. We used the indoor pool which is a nice size. Our room was quiet and clean. We ate the complimentary breakfast in the morning, and it had a lot of options. There is a restaurant across the parking lot which was perfect for dinner after we checked in. I travel frequently for business and pleasure and would stay here again.
I am extremely unhappy with my Best Western stay. My husband and I had booked two rooms on Saturday 11/12/2022 and upon entering one of the rooms we were disgusted by the intense smell of cigarette smoke. There was also a strange humidifier machine running under the desk. Upon looking in the bathroom, we noticed pubic hairs in the bathtub and urine on the floor in front of the toilet. It was almost as if this room had not been cleaned. We called the front desk immediately and they informed me that they were booked and after pressing them further they were able to get us moved to a different room, although it was not much better. We moved to our new room and the smell was definitely better however it was still quite dirty. The "headboard" of the bed was greasy, there were a few pillows with yellow stains on them (under the pillowcase), the bathroom counter/mirror area was dusty and looked like toothpaste splattered all over it, and after we woke up the next morning we noticed that there was dried blood on the comforter that was on the bed. I am glad we brought our own blanket and didn't use that dirty one! I am beyond disgusted with the cleanliness of our hotel rooms. We also were charged three times on our card. I called the manager at Best Western on Monday the 14th. He didn't provide his name but he seemed nice enough. I wanted to bring it to his attention that the cleanliness of his rooms were unacceptable and that we were charged three times. He said the other charges should come off but they have not yet and then he offered me a $30 discount on one of the rooms we booked. I am not pleased at all with Best Western and do not recommend this hotel. I wish I could give the cleanliness zero stars.
I really wanted to like this hotel. First the good: front desk staff helpful and efficient; room, lobby, and hallways very clean, expected amenities were present. The bad: the room was very stuffy and the climate control system under the window had a constantly running fan which to turn it off you had to turn off the whole unit creating a very dry but still stuffy room. There was some sort of dehumidifier under the desk which said “full” and was not running only flashing constantly. Bed was hard hard hard, pillows oddly square and not very comfy. The breakfast was honestly the worst I've ever had a a hotel, stale everything and biscuits so hard the plastic knife could not cut it. The breakfast are was very small as well but there were few people there anyway. I generally like this brand but this one is a no for me.
Staff was friendly. Room was dusty, thermostat/fan didn't work well so our room was stuffy. Beds weren't that comfy, remotes didn't work. TV barely worked. There is only one ice machine and it's in the 3rd floor overall- dated, dingy, not 3*
Room was not clean, particularly bathroom. Mold/mildew and evidence of water leaks present. Humidifier in room ran 24/7. For 171 dollars per night expect better than this property. Only good thing was location .
Best Western needs to read and understand federal Americans with Disabilities Act from 1990 and comply while also training management and staff what wheelchair accessible means. It's been 32 years. Follow the law and do better.
I was in town for a ballgame, and was looking to stay closer to the stadium. Lee's Summit is only a few miles further away - about a 10 minute drive from Kauffman, and it was half the price of the hotels across the street from the stadium complex. The staff was friendly & helpful, the room was clean, and breakfast in the morning was good.
This is probably one of our favorite Best Western's at Lee Summit, MO! Their staff is outstanding in making sure your stay is comfortable! The facility is clean. The breakfast had many choices and the pool was a great temperature!
We parked at a decent spot. Justin at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. When I told him we did not have any hair dryer in the room he instantly grabbed one from a vacant room after the night auditor named Andrew told him they had nothing in their back office. We were doing our laundry on site and there were clothes in both dryers and they had 2 of those. The guests that owned those probably fell asleep or something. Andrew said it was alright to take it out of there if its been sitting there for hours to dry our own clothes since we had to rest after a really long drive. The elevator felt like a drop tower & we got so paranoid with how it was so we took the stairs instead. The room was fine. The bathroom was a little interesting. They had a larger vanity with a sink and a small sink with a divider next to it. And the toilet seat was not stable when we used it and the door was so close to the tub that we had to swing it back and forth just to be able to use the shower. Other than that, the room was clean, the beds were extremely comfortable & the pillows too!!
Room was clean and spacious and well appointed. Check-in was fast and efficient. Good breakfast selection. Would stay here again. There is an upscale restaurant on site and is a good place to relax and unwind.
I found out the morning of our arrival that my girlfriend had just tested positive for Covid. I called the reservation line to see if I could cancel and explained why. They told me they could waive the one night penalty but would need the franchisee's approval and would call them. I held for about 5 minutes and they came back to say the franchisee refused to waive the cancellation charge. I looked later in the day And saw that the room type that I had booked was sold out. I called and asked to speak to the manager to ask for consideration but had to leave a voicemail and if course no call returned. I had stayed there twice in the past but never again.
When we checked in mid may 2022 we were greeted by a man let's say j for his first name very rude we were staying for a week asked for extra fridge the ones in the room are very tiny after telling me no three times and calling my wife the b word we finally got one that was set outside our door I am 65 had to drag the unit in. Then each time we went for towels or a question this guy was very rude often leaving the desk to just let us talk to the wall not happy we have used this hotel couple times a year for 6 years but will change next time sorry best western but your help is below par.
Wonderful stay here with my pupper! Clean, great staff, amazing room! Nice grassy dog area complete with disposal bags and trash can. Good selection of TV channels with HBO. Nice hot shower am and pm.
The two gals at the desk, Bella and Ashley were great. They welcomed us and made sure and told us about the 10% off if we showed our hotel card at the restaurant. The motel was very clean and beds were comfortable. We had not complaints at all.
Phoned two similar hotel chains that had no vacancies. Didn't want a lesser quality, smoky, cold breakfast (no protein) motel. So I was very happy when this one made a place for me in a handicap room (nothing else available). It was late, cold, rainy, but they accommodated me. The price was right, and they even gave me a military discount. I actually felt honored! The blanket was a little thin, but I turned up the heat a little and was very comfortable. No bugs, clean, fresh smelling sheets, and no light intrusion from the window. The room and bathroom were clean, everything worked, and the hot breakfast was even much better than expected. Nothing fancy, but the cheezy eggs were real (not powdered), the potatoes tasted like potatoes (without weird seasoning), the biscuits and gravy were hearty, very tasty, and had real sausage chunks. The sausage patty wasn't exactly "Jimmy Dean" quality, but still real meat, and very good. They also offered yogurt, pastries, real fruit, various cereals, juices, and, of course coffee. Three varieties of coffee. Couldn't expect more at this price point. As for service, from check in to check out, the staff were friendly, respectful, spoke plain English, and very helpful! I was gratefully surprised. You don't normally get this quality of service unless you're in a four or five star hotel - and even there they can be snooty or condescending. These people were genuinely nice! It's a little off my normal path in KC, but I'll be back and bring my wife!
Pool and fitness room were great. Staff friendly and courteous. Breakfast was great each day. Beds were very comfortable. rooms clean, parking great and s nice location central to almost anywhere i needed to go
The hotel was nicely decorated and clean. The beds were comfortable. The internet worked great. The hotel isn't directly on the highway so it was quiet. It was only about 20 minutes to the venue we were going to in Kansas City. The staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
We were in three hotels on this trip. Two of them were Best Western but this one was by far the best of all of them. It was very spacious. It was very clean. The bed was fabulous. The staff very willing and friendly in every aspect.
Would recommend this location to everyone the staff and management was very nice. the area had so very much to offer. we always try to stay at Best Western whenever possible. The beds are always comfortable to get a good nights sleep.
This was my last stop for the night. This hotel is pretty nice. Close to I-70. Easy access to 470 and right off 291. Room was great, only downfall, dog hair on sofa bed that wasn't cleaned well after last guest. As well as what looked like dried ice cream on the coffee table. I I initially reserved a king room, for being a diamond member I was instantly upgraded to a better room. Not all facilities are following that same protocol, even if the rooms are available. So score on that one! Clean a little better, and you have my reservations more often when I travel to Kcmo.
Courtney and Jennifer literally exhibited the absolute best customer service I have received anywhere, ever! No, I do not know them personally, but I may as well have been family. They both went out of their way multiple times to ensure I had a room on a night the hotel was booked solid and at the best rate. It is very much appreciated!!
This location has it all. Safe, quiet, close to the interstate. Easy to get to Costco, restaurants and gas stations. The amenities are very nice and work properly. The room is nicely appointed with comfortable bed, pillows and shower. The grounds are well maintained and very clean. The staff is also very professional and attentive to your needs. I have stayed here before and the results are consistently great. Good breakfast and value for a very nice stay. I highly recommend this location for a true BW atmosphere.
Exceptional hotel and staff. Accommodated every need. Staff answered all our questions and provided helpful tips. Clean and quiet room close to a green space and walking trail. Definitely staying again next time in Lee's Summit!
I would not stay here again. This hotel is dated and dirty. The rooms are stinky and moldy/musty smelling and the floors are nasty. Very overpriced for this room. The only good thing about this hotel is that the front desk people were nice.
This hotel was amazing. The staff was exceptional. It was quiet and everyone was able to get plenty of rest. If you need a clean, comfortable hotel in Lee'sSummit then the Best Western is just the place for you!
We've stayed here multiple times and are never disappointed. Clean and modern hotel, great amenities and very friendly staff! The family enjoys the hot breakfast and pool and there are plenty of areas to gather around the hotel including an outdoor patio.
Our bathroom floor was not clean, I got on my hands and knees and cleaned that. The overall appearance of the room was old and very run down. With large chips out of all furniture, headboard had handprints, and smeared something all over it. I had to clean the bathroom and headboard myself. The bed was comfortable enough for the level of hotel. I chose this hotel based on proximity to our event and the additional television with pullout bed that my child could use. I went down to the front desk and requested additional linens for the pullout. When I pulled the couch out, to my disgust, there was already a fitted sheet on it and the sheet was FILTHY! I went back down to the front desk and showed the ladies the pictures I had taken of the bed. They told me to put the filthy sheet outside my door and gave me additional linens, but it didn't make up for anything. I had put 3 mattress covers, 3 fitted sheets, and 2 top sheets on it and my son still didn't want to sleep on it. I guess housekeeping doesn't check the pullouts. In a time of heightened awareness around cleanliness, along with the promise of cleanliness outlined in the manager's letter at the front desk, I was not assured. You have to do better - even if it weren't a pandemic, filthy sheets and bathroom floors are never acceptable. Disgusted!! Management has yet to respond to calls or emails. Corporate has yet to respond to email. The only positive was the ladies at the front desk were two of the most friendly hotel employees I've ever met stateside.
We stayed here to be close to family in Lees Summit and for that it was perfect. Checkin was easy and quick. The room was basic and dated. We had one King bed which was really hard but like I said it was clean and we werent in the room much at all. The price was comparable to some other hotels in the area which were much nicer but were booked full. I would not hesitate to stay here again if need be as it definitely served its purpose. The big plus was a Keurig in the room!!
It was a very nice stay and friendly stay. I've stayed there the last 3 times I've visited the Kansas City area and have loved the close by attractions. The area is in a very quiet neighborhood area right off the highway.
Decent location, clean, very friendly service, ice machine works, bed is big and comfy, couch in room is comfy. Has a microwave and fridge - no freezer in the fridge, decent wi-fi. Happy to be here after being at a roadside motel last night in Kansas. Close to the Summit Grille - which TripAdvisor lists as #1 restaurant in the area.
Not enjoyable due to the run down atmosphere.... would not stay here again. This is NOT like any Best western we have every stayed in. Not taken care of .. staff was ok, but not extremely helpful. I was amazed of the condition of this place and not in a good way...I would assume if would be a 49.99 hotel not a 100.00 hotel.
Always pleasant employees at the front desk and always so helpful. This hotel has a great restaurant bar & grill next to it as well. This makes it easy for later check ins to get a bite to eat. Perfect location, close to all the major areas of Kansas City.
The Rooms are dated. When I walked in the room didn't feel fresh or clean enough that I made sure I wore my shoes on the carpet, and made sure my clean clothes didn't touch anything. I felt like I had to look before I sat down anything. Almost like a park bench... it's clean but don't feel clean., and we travel a lot.. For the price I would have expected a much nicer room. If the charge was 70/ 80$ I would have walked in expecting what I got.
The room was clean, small color television the furniture was outdated and needed replaced. The breakfast was not a full breakfast but rather a select few item behind he main desk which the host put in a carry out container. The staff was friendly and courteous.
I'm an elite BW club member that stayed here recently, in terms of overall BWs it's pretty typical. I had requested a certain floor due to noise and with all those rooms, they just couldn't make this request happen. Seemed pretty easy in terms of requests but they just couldn't get it done. Yet the larger concern for us is just how much BW has literally gone to the dogs. We are of the opinion that dogs should never be allowed at any hotel, period. Just the fact that a dog that just stayed in your room the night before, could have came back inside from defecating and rub it's rear end all over your room is nuts. And don't think for one second it doesn't happen. We were staying in a BW last week in CO that had a dog in the room next to us that our son was going to stay in after they left. That room smelled like you know what the entire 3 days my son had to stay there. We've seen more and more dogs in rooms over the past couple years and we understand there are tons of dog lovers. Yet we also understand that in terms of hygiene, this is impossible to manage effectively. They just don't come close to cleaning the rooms enough to accomplish this. This hotel in LS had numerous dogs, one guy in the lobby even mentioned a barking dog on the 3rd floor when we checked in. Another dog that ended up right next to us would bark and go berserk when anyone close by would open or shut a door. Another issue with this location is there's a dog kennel directly next door and you'll hear them without question. Of course this isn't the hotels fault but potential guests need to know. If you're a light sleeper you better request the south end, they can be loud and endless at times. The wife and I have placed an order for a class B travel van, thankfully ending most of our hotel stays. Just really too much nonsense with dogs, jerks, and poor customer service these days.
Came to stay the weekend for a little getaway for me while my mom had meetings. The check in was easy and fast, the room was beautifully put together and decorated. The lobby staff was great! Wifi was pretty good. Breakfast was quick and they serve you a good amount. The pricing was great and overall i would recommend!
Stayed here a few times now visiting my girlfriends family and each time the staff was welcoming and easy to work with! The breakfast was tasty when we had the biscuits a gravy and everything was nice and clean and kept up well. Would tell anyone to stay here
I stay only at BW hotels when I travel for work and have not had a bad one yet but Lee Summit is the nicest so far AWSOME hotel! The staff is outstanding here. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone !
Wonderful place will stay here every time I'm in kc staff was great clean rooms made sure my pre arrival request was done easy check in and out the modified breakfast was good. Recommend staying here.
Clean, remodeled, extremely friendly and accommodating staff... this hotel did not disappoint. Conveniently located right off the highway and breakfast a plus. Rooms spacious and bed was comfortable. If back in area would stay again!
My wife and I enjoyed a dinner and a night out over the weekend. We had excellent service while we were at the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. We like the idea that it's situated in a safe neighborhood. We will definitely be back in the future!
We were here for a long weekend. The location was good for us. It is far enough off the freeway to be reasonably quiet but isn't far from shopping, dining, and entertainment up in the Independence Center area of 470 and 70. I'm not a connoisseur of mattresses and hotel soaps but the room was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. With precautions the common areas (pool, fitness center, lobby) were clean and as usable as they can be these days. What I enjoyed the most was the real breakfast they served daily. In 2020 I had resigned myself to grab bags of muffins, a piece of fruit, and a yogurt as a standard hotel breakfast. But here they had scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and bacon or sausage. For COVID safety it's behind the counter and served by the desk staff. Next time I'm in the area I'll stay here again.
Between a clearly under stressed front desk and the rude hockey team of 11-12 year olds, it was nit enjoyable and a waste of money. Wasn't even offered a discount or a refund for how the experience was.
The staff was extremely helpful with any questions or concerns. The room was clean and very relaxing. The breakfast was awesome even being modified, there was biscuits and gravy bacon and eggs! Great location
I had a great experience here. The checkin was efficient and quick and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is great. I highly recommend this location to anyone.
We were coming into town for a meeting. We were assured a queen room with walk in shower. These rooms were not in existence when we arrived. We had been on the road for seven hours. We took a queen room. No washcloths had to call desk. Air didn't seem to work properly. We split bill on our credit cards at check in. When we checked out whole bill was charged to one card. Then we were each billed double. The bright spot was the beds were comfortable. If I'm in the area I will try for different lodging.
Clean and quiet with friendly staff. Stayed for 5 nights & only issue was drain in shower wouldn't stay open and we had to shove something into it to drain and toilet paper holder was missing. Very minor things so altogether a good stay
This was the first time I've stayed at a Best Western Plus and I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean from the lobby to the rooms. The staff was amazing and very helpful. They made sure to check daily on how my stay was going and if I needed anything. Definitely stay there again.
I have never seen a lobby close at 10pm and the law called without warning. The LPD commented on how the desk staff wastes their time regularly. The chairs were placed on tables at 3 pm and were told not to move them while waiting for our kids to get down with their gear. 2 entire hockey teams were offended by the bad customer service by Tawnia and her boyfriend Dave. We chose that hotel due to proximity to rink. Won't do it again.
Everyone here is so friendly and helpful! The beds and pillows are the best I have ever slept on in a hotel! Very clean and modern rooms. A few steps away from Summits Grill one the top restaurants in KC area! Very quiet and safe Area!
Easy access to 470 and Lee's Summit area. Nice motel, clean and basic. Excellent breakfast. Small pool but looked clean. Room was ok. Pillows tooo soft but pillow top on bed was good. Bathtub needed skids and was very slick when showering. Towels were small. AC and heat worked well. Mini fridge wasn't very cold.
We were looking for a place to stay so we could attend the KC Chiefs game while not being right on top of Arrowhead Stadium. The hotel is easily accessible and was very quiet. bathroom was a little small, including a bit of difficulty closing the door without squeezing between the toilet and the sink. Also, no place in the shower to place soaps, shampoos, etc. Otherwise, the stay was great. Beds were comfortable, the staff was top notch, and the breakfast was very good.
everything about the hotel was really neat and clean.great soaps, and a great breakfast!!The breakfast had those plump sausage links that tasted so good with the eggs, and the biscuit gravy was so tasty over the eggs.Great Location, with a fine restaurant located next to them if you need a place for lunch. Also, the soaps were nice and large bars!!
We had a great stay.. The property is in a convenient location. Looks inviting both outside and inside. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast selection, good coffee, and a nice eating area. I used the fitness room and it was fine. Didn't use the pool but it looked very clean. All of the employees we had contact with were so very helpful and nice. The only thing I would change was tthe mattress. It was very firm and I like a very soft mattress, but that's just me.
I commyte into town for work weekly. I choose this hotel.because of the people there, and the proximity to work. Great place, with great employees and a nice restaurant right next door. If you want a place that takes care of all your needs and doesnt charge younextra for the nice things like free wi-fi, nice fitness room, free breakfast, etc......Thus is your place. Take a chance and give them a call and reserve next time you are in town. You won't be disappointed.
Broken picture frames in room, carpet dirty, ceiling plaster falling off, thin walls and floors- could hear every noise from other guests. The location was very dimly lit at entrance without signage to know where turn was.
Our Disaster Relief team had 11 room reservations at this Best Western Plus as we traveled home to Minneapolis. The manager, David, made it easy and enjoyable to set up the reservation for our group, and when we arrived the two people checking us in (sure wish I remembered their names!) were awesome...so friendly and efficient! The rooms were clean and spacious. We loved the fact that there were a sinks outside of the bathrooms. What a fabulous breakfast...by far better than most hotels! We were grateful for the extra effort involved in having it ready for us by 6:00am. When we travel south again in the spring, I will look no further than this very nice hotel!
We stopped here last night without reservation and had great service for checking in and got a better rate than we could get on line. Service was outstanding and room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom fan did not work but all else was great. Breakfast was great.
Good price. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Hotel is looking pretty aged overall (carpet worn, older furniture), but otherwise all very comfortable. Staff as attentive and efficient. Can't really ask for more at this price point.
Tiffany at the front desk was very professional, courteous and helpful. I had questions about the area and she answered my questions and helped me find my way around. I'd had a long drive and was alone, so a friendly face was and great attitude meant a lot.
Emphasis on cleanliness and safety issues will improve customer satisfaction. This is our second stay at this hotel because it is located to close to family homes. However there is other lodgingl in the area for $110 a night that I will investigating. Our stay was not unpleasant, but could have been improved with more attention to details.
Check in took extremely too long for rep to find reservation. Room had strange odor first night that cleared after first night. Staff did not restock bathroom items daily. Went three days with no washclothes. Disappointing after all Best Western has done to improve their hotels over the past few years.
I would recommend this stay to anyone traveling for business or pleasure. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and make you feel as if you are walking into your own house.
I checked in the room was hot, stuffy and had a spider web at the entrance and the air never got cold. I was there for a couple of hours and saw 4 big brown spiders in the room by this time I was itching all over and ready to check out. I wasted my money because I didn't even stay the night because of the spiders. I paid for a hotel room for 3 hours unfortunately
The bed we had was very saggy and uncomfortable! It was difficult for us to sleep and kept rolling into the center of the bed. The sofa was dirty; it had a large dark stain that gave the impression that the rest of the sofa would be dirty. Worst breakfast experience ever! It seemed to have a poor selection and what was offered had not been stocked. We were there at 7:30am, so it wasn't at the end of the breakfast service time. I think they may have been missing some personnel, as the desk person was trying to re-stock breakfast items. I can't really comment on the quality of items as I got the last piece of bread for toast (white was the only apparent choice, no wheat) and some cold bacon. Between the bed and the breakfast this was a very bad experience.
It seems as though your customer service and front desk are the best part of the hotel. The cleaning staff needs to go through the hotel and do a thorough cleaning. There are just random spots of mysterious things all of the room we stayed in. The floor needs a thorough vacuuming there were parts that still had crumbs all over from a previous occupant. The drawers had crumbs in them. I understand there is a ventilation issue due to the dehumidifiers issued in several rooms, however the cleaning staff could at least empty them when they clean the room. I was emptying mine about every 3 hours. It's really gross to have that much moisture all over the beds and carpet.
We stay at this hotel 14 nights every summer. They always make us feel at home. The breakfast is supreme and the service is great. Always sleep well in their comfy beds with nice linens. Overall, it is the best accommodation in the area of Lee's Summit and the Kansas City area.
This was my first time staying at a Best Western. The customer service was great, but the room did not meet my families satisfaction. The room had a strong musty/mildew smell to it, and was very humid. There was an obvious ventilation issue. The room had a portable dehumidifier under the desk, which I had to empty on my own. That stunk! The ventilation fan in the bathroom was not working, which added to the humidity in the room when my family took a shower. Also, the A/C could not keep up, and I had to get up in the middle of the night to adjust it. I travel very often in my line of work, and frequent a lot of hotels. I would like the time that I get to travel for leisure to be relaxing. This stay didn't quite add up. I don't think I will be staying at a Best Western in the future.
Arrived at 2:00am due to traveling long. Had to wait ONE HOUR for someone to show up to the desk. When I finally got up to my room, the carpet was all wet... looked like they hadn't just washed it, but why would you have a guest stay in that room?
My stay was outstanding. From check in to check out I got 10 star treatment!! The staff was very very helpful and went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I have ZERO complaints!
LOVE this place!! Staff is very friendly, go out of their way to help. Staff are eager to help and check in to see if you need anything. Rooms are sparkling clean, hot tub in room is perfect, and give a Veterans discount. Hot breakfast is outstanding!! King bed extremely comfortable!! Location is convenient.
When looking for a hotel look no further. This is a great place to stay. Staff is so friendly and helpful . Beds are super comfortable and the Breakfast is a great way to start your day. Hotel is clean and quite in a great location to restaurants and shops.
Fastest internet I've had in a hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Answered all questions quickly and researched questions they couldn't answer. Would stay here again. One of the better stays I've had in a while.
Although the lobby (and room) looked nice enough for the price, the odors in the hallway and in my room were horrible. Marijuana smell in hall and dead fish smell in my room were terrible. After leaving and coming back, someone had sprayed air freshener down the hall, but my room smelled horrible all night.
The hotel was very nice and clean. The pool water was COLD. The sign for the fitness center was pointing in the wrong direction, so I wasn't able to utilize the fitness center. Breakfast was ok. The location to the Royals Stadium was wonderful for us.
Stayed one night while traveling through. We stayed in a nice-sized king suite. Clean room, bed comfortable. Two TVs—bigger one allowed partner to enjoy watching basketball. Frig was nicely placed so it was not noisy. Good water pressure in shower. We thought the $30 pet fee was excessive for a non-shedding well-behaved Golden Doodle, but the property had ample green space next door for walking dogs (and no poop piles!). Friendly staff that liked dogs. Will stay again when traveling.
Best stay. People super nice. Definitely will stay again. Rooms were clean and the staff super accommodating. The beds were super comfortable. Everything worked as planned and the restaurant in the parking lot was great and they gave us a discount when we showed our room key.
Staff was friendly and the hotel was nice and quiet with a great location for work and play with the lakes so close by. They upgraded my room at no charge and the free breakfast was wonderful. Will definitely stay again.
Items were left in the room and we called the next day and were excited to hear that the items had been turned in by housekeeping. The front desk clerk offered to mail the items and we have called nearly every week and have been told each time that they were just mailed out and we still have not received the items.
We stayed at the Hotel for a Christmas Party. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and clean. The breakfast had a very nice variety of choice that we both enjoyed.Even though we didn't swim we did tour the pool area and it looked great!
My family of 22 guests used this motel for our Thanksgiving gathering. The room we had was clean, and beds were very comfortable. The remote didn't work, but it was fixed (or replaced) right away so we had no further issues with that. Staff were all very friendly and helpful no matter what time of day (or night) it was. Large selection for breakfast, and the eating area was nice and large.
I believe we had over 20 rooms. All guests were happy with overall experience. The one thing I notice was staff was basically young and very pleasant. Always smiling laughing. Happy to be at work. This is from housekeeping to management on site. Spacious rooms. Clean. Comfortable. There are some small cosmetic things that need attention but this is anywhere you go. The staff is also attentive and always asking if they can do something for you highly recommend
We have been loyal Best Western customers for many years, but after this experience we will never stay in another BW hotel again. We have noticed a gradual decline in the properties the last few years, and this one was the last straw. We stayed two nights. The toilet moved when it was sat upon. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. The door to the bathroom didn't shut properly and wouldn't lock. All the lampshades in the room were askew. Pillows were lumpy. A hair was stuck on the laminated guest directory (which was placed in a prominent spot on the desk so cleaning staff had to notice). The directory was moved the second day by the cleaning staff, but the hair was never removed during our stay. I was going to remove the hair on our second day so the next guest wouldn't be disgusted, but there was no Kleenex left. Used the last of the Kleenex the first day to wipe the dust off the top of the Keurig. The empty Kleenex box was removed by the cleaning staff, but not replaced the next day. There was a hole in the wall next to one of the electrical outlets. The American flag flown in front of the hotel was in shreds. The front desk was unable to provide a receipt when we checked out. There was more, but you get the idea. Seriously. Easy things to fix if there is the will do so. We would have rather spoken to the manager personally about all these things, but didn't have time, and wasn't sure it was worth the effort.
We arrived late after a concert. No problems checking in. The front desk was nice. We came into a clean room. I opened the bathroom and instantly noticed a mildew smell which has since left me with sinus issues. Somehow we ended up with a handicap room. We are not. But the shower design quickly revealed the reason for the mildew smell. The walk in shower had a faulty design in that there was no way to keep the water in the stall. The curtain didn't reach the ground and the floor flooded with water despite angling the shower spout toward the opposite corner. The bathroom was also without a hairdryer, which come to think of it, might've been a smart idea so there wouldn't be an issue with electrical shock with all the water on the floor. The walls were thin. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. One redeeming quality was that my husband said the breakfast was tasty! It's an older hotel that's been updated, but it's very apparent that the place is dated. Clean, but dated. This place was average at best and a disappointment for our one night away without kids.
This hotel is not As good as most Best Westerns where we have stayed. Got to the room to find unflushed toilet paper in the toilet and water spots on the mirror. The next day we noticed toe nail clippings on the carpet between the beds! Disgusting!! Did they even bother to clean the room after the last gusets? Spoke with the front desk about it and they offered housekeeping to come back in and clean. We were leaving in the morning so didn't bother with it. Needless to say, we won't be staying here again!
We were traveling from Colorado on a cross country trip with pets. This hotel is clean, the breakfast had some healthy choices, Keurig coffee maker in the room and they gave us a late checkout since we got in so late.
My girlfriends & I took a weekend away with our kids & had a great time at this hotel. The food was good, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, & the staff were friendly..couldn't ask for a better combination! We even got our adjoining rooms as requested!
Very friendly staff, but our room experience left a lot to be desired. First was the musty smell whenever we walked into the room, and then we could feel the clammy, humid air. The room wasn't hot, and the A/C unit worked. A dehumidifier would have likely helped. Next, we did find a couple centipedes in the room, but I have seen worse. I also checked for bed bugs, and there were no signs, which was redeemable. We woke in the morning to put on damp clothes. Fortunately, our second night was a little better because we cracked the window, which allowed the humidity and smell to dissipate a little, but we then had to battle the sound of traffic on the highway. In my opinion, you will find better value elsewhere.
We stay at this hotel every year while visiting relatives in Missouri. It has a lot of great amenities: delicious breakfast of waffles, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, rolls, fruit, bisquits and gravy, and potatoes, juice, coffee, fresh yogurt. The pool is indoor and open long hours great for traveling with children. The wifi and all the electronic charger stations were functional and handy. The room attendants are very accommodating and do a good job. The floors could be scrubbed a bit better and the rugs cleaned, but it always looks fresh and well-taken-care-of other than being in need of more elbow grease. The front desk people are quite friendly and helpful. We had a middle of the night mini crisis and the night staff were ready to do whatever they could to help us out.
The worst air quality ever in a hotel. The first room was wet and moldy. The second had a free standing dehumidifier. Air was dryer. They are using a cleaner or air freshener. I had to check out before planned and move hotels.
We stayed here while we attended Nationals for our softball team. The staff here exceeded my expectations. They were kind and helpful and any issues we had they remedied them quickly. The beds weren't the most comfortable but by the second night we were so worn out we slept through most of the night.
The staff were wonderful to me and my family. There was an incident beyond their control where some vehicles in our party had windows broken out, but they were nice, the room and facilities were clean, the breakfast was delicious. They were great to our girls from the softball team.
The Lee Summit Best Western was great, but the little extras made the difference. First, we were meet by a great check from a smiling and helpful young lady named Katie That is a welcome sight after several hours on a motorcycle in 100 degree weather. She also helped us make our next reservation. Second there is a fantastic restaurant right next door named the Summit House. Outstanding food. I recommend thecfried chick in any recipe. But they have a wide variety of items on the menu. A little upscale, Third, was a great inside pool that overlooked a beautiful green landscape of a church. They even had a walking path that they let customers use. I even noticed special parking areas for RV's that supplied power. I had never seen that before. Enjoyed our stay. I will miss it as we hit the road again on another very hot day on the bike.
We stayed there while visiting family in Lees Summit and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was FANTASTIC. They were so friendly and nice and helped us with every little thing. We did not eat any of the breakfast so cannot comment on the food.
The room was acceptable. The typical hotel chain breakfast, was also acceptable. However, the common area's, (hallways and elevators), need to be attended to on a more frequest basis to make sure they are clean.
The staff members at this hotel were very friendly and accommodating. Each staff member at the front desk greeted us each morning and afternoon. One of the best hotels in that regard. Could not have been treated better. However, on a negative note, the housekeeping was rather poor. Like many hotels of late, the bathroom was not up to standard, the floors were dirty, and fixtures were very dusty throughout the room. Even the front lobby was somewhat dirty when I entered the hotel for the first time. The room also had a musty smell. I did not realize that this hotel was pet friendly. There were many quests with dogs, which was an issue for my wife and I. Some quests even allowed their pets into the eating the area. I will not stay at this location again.
We stayed there for three days due to a wedding we attended. The staff was friendly the bed was comfortable. I ate breakfast there for two days and really enjoyed the hash browns This was the second time we stayed at this motel and will stay here again next time we are in the Kansas City Area
First of all, the staff were all very efficient and pleasant, front desk to housekeeping. The room was very clean, well thought out and didn't lack any amenities. The bed was comfortable and the a/c was working perfectly. The only complaint I would have is that the water in the area is so soft that you have all that leftover soap when you rinse and rinse. It made the tub dangerously slick, threw a hand towel down to shower so I wouldn't fall. It was actually a bit scary. Otherwise, great stay, would definitely stay there again and recommend it to family and friends!
The evening staff was very good. They let us choose our room and we stayed on the first floor - very convenient. My daughter enjoyed the pool while I read the paper and then had closely followed by a nice nap. Afterward we went on a walk nearby. There is also a very nice place to eat and enjoy a cold beverage immediately next door. The next morning while enjoying bacon and eggs the morning staff will greet you with a very welcoming 'Good Morning'.
Rooms were very nice and clean, and the staff was very very accommodating. Enjoyed our stay here very very much. Think we found a hotel for the Kansas City area from now on. The hot breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs bacon gravy biscuits and waffles as usual but it was very very nice.
This hotel didn't skimp on the amenities, the hotel staff was amazing, helpful, pleasant, the rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable, I absolutely love this hotel. The breakfast was nice, hot, and delicious, everything was just as they advertised.
Front desk staff are friendly, quick, and helpful. The lobby is inviting and well kept. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Housekeeping takes care of anything you need with a smile. The experience for me is one where I feel comfortable.
We are completing a cross country, round-trip, road adventure and we are staying exclusively at Best Western Motels. All of our Best Western experiences have been enjoyable and the Best Wester Plus at Lee's Summit is no exception. Every employee has been cheerful, welcoming and helpful. No complaints here.
This is one of the best Best Western Motels we have stayed at. It was very relaxing and quiet. Great rooms. Staff was very pleasant and courteous. We were checked in quickly and we were able to use our points as a diamond member. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this motel plus.
We had a very pleasant experience in Lee's Summit. The hotel was easy to find, the staff was most excellent, accommodations were great, breakfast was lovely, and both check-in and check-out were trouble free. I highly recommend Best Westerns to everyone.
Clayton was great at check in. Room was fine although the shower in our accessible room poured all over the floor. Bed was comfy and room was spotless. Breakfast was the best we've had in an all included. Steak place nearby was $$$ but give minutes away is every type of restaurant imaginable. Parking was a challenge until the steak restaurant closed. They take all of the hotel spots!
We stayed at this hotel due to the team staying here. It was easy to find and a good location for us. The staff was very accommodating. We had a large group and they let us hang in the lobby the first night and use the room adjacent from the pool the next night to eat and hang out together. Beds were comfy, came with a kuerig, fridge, and microwave. The breakfast had a good selection and eggs were delish. The only thing I would change is cleanliness. Our room was clean, but the hallways, breakfast area, etc could use a deep clean. I know it's a busy place with lots of people coming and going.
All staff were courteous and more then willing to help us with anything we needed. Everyone went above and beyond to meet our needs and made us all feel comfortable. Front desk staff always their to help and very friendly We had and excellent stay and our group was well taken care of.
I travel frequently and have been to many different types of hotels during my travels. Never have I felt so disturbed and absolutely disgusted from a place I've booked to stay at. This hotel has high reviews. The pictures look clean but I assure you this room was anything but. I was traveling with my husband and two young children. We entered the dark hotel parking lot to see a man sitting in his truck bed. It's next to a busy restaurant so parking lot was full. We were placed on first level. Entered room and noticed dirty carpet. I figured whatever. It was 8pm at the time of our check in and we all were tired. I can deal will slightly dirty carpet. Started getting beds ready and my bed pillow had fresh makeup smeared on pillow case. That grossed me out so I took it right away to front desk. I asked for fresh sheets for entire bed. The lady at the front desk apologized and gave me new sheets. I returned to my room and started making my bed. As I stripped the bed, the comforter came off and there was disgusting yellow barf/smear/goo on the side portion of it. By this point I am getting more and more irritated. I sent my husband, who was actually disgusted as well, out to get a clean comforter. I did not get a picture of either of these two issues. As I started to check my little girls bed I found another gross stain and the most disturbing of all issues was in the corner next to their bed. A man's pants and dirty underwear inside lay out in the open. I have no idea if the owner of the pants was under a bed or out searching somewhere for his lost pants. It's absolutely disgusting that my children were playing around over by those pants and the bodily fluids of people before us were freshly displayed all over sheets that we were expected to sleep on. Needless to say, we left after the discovery of the dirty pants. This is something no one should ever have to encounter in a hotel. It was incredibly inconvenient to pack up all our belongings and drag a 3 and 5 year old back into the night to search for a hotel that actually is as advertised. But a safe, clean hotel is top priority. Drury inn up the road a few exits is a way better choice!!
Husband and I had a date night and booked room with the jacuzzi. It was comfortable, clean and overall a great room! Will be back again! The breakfast was a great add on to the hotel! Did not get to use the pool, but it looked refreshing!
My husband and I come to an annual event in Lees Summit. We chose this location for its convenience. We were greeted by Elijah and another female employee who were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The things that we had requested were honored. About 1:15 in the morning, we were awakened by loud rowdiness in the hall near our room. I called the desk and complained. Elijah told me he would be right up and take care of the situation which he did. I was super pleased as we had had a similar experience at a well known chain hotel out west and were told that "people come in late and make noise and they would quiet down pretty soon." Needless to say, I was not pleased with that experience. We will definitely stay here next time we're in Lees Summit. The breakfast provided was very good with a lot of choices, as well.
We reserved two connecting rooms as we traveled across the state. Lauren and Elijah were both very accommodating on the phone about our wanting the connecting rooms, which meant a lot to our family. Both room's were double queen rooms with one slightly bigger than the other. The mattresses were comfortable and the room was bright and clean. The breakfast was amazing with some of the best eggs that we have ever enjoyed at a hotel! They were clearly made from scratch. They also had a wide assortment of different kind's of yogurt and cereal. Gluten free bread was offered as well as bacon and diced potatoes and hard boiled eggs and waffles. We will come back again as we travel through the area. Highly recommend the BW in Lee's Summit!
Very nice hotel, had an event in house w/ Comicon I wasn't part of that though, Everything was just as expected, nice clean hotel with a great staff, the other guests looked to be enjoying their event as well. You can stay here and be confident you will be well taken care of and your room will be nice.
Clean. Good service. Friendly. Modern. Overall good experience........iv worked for best western in California this one was much nicer and more clean and updated. Boyfriend and myself had a good trip.
Stayed here for 2 nights. I thought the price was great, hotel was clean and the front desk staff was excellent. I read previous reviews that were complaining about breakfast, I thought they had a great selection. If you are basing your stay on the breakfast that's kind of lame. They are in the hotel business not the food business and there is a Panera down the street.
Good for the price. New hotel and it shows in the nice decor and rooms as well as the undertrained unprofessional staff. TIP: Eat breakfast somewhere else, this was a pretty big disappointment (especially after being touted by employee that it was 'awesome').
Professional staff and the best kept secret for lodging in Lees Summit. The hotel was clean, the staff were pleasant and friendly. The management, was available and helpful when I checked in. Also, the checkout process was seamless.
Very nice outdoor areas for pets.Clean rooms good maid service and the breakfast setup was very comparable to Fairfield inn or Hampton inn that we stayed in our last 2 trips plus I was giving a veterans discount of 10 percent off our stay
This is a clean and affordable hotel. We wanted a place near Arrowhead stadium that was at clean, but not cost prohibitive. This is just the place. Excellent customer service. Very nice hotel. Only problem: my husband hates it when hotels don't have exhaust systems in the bathroom and this one does not. But that's minor.
My wife and I were in town for a convention and stayed at the Best Western Plus in Lee's Summit. The first night they put us in a Jacuzzi suite which was nice until about 5:00 a.m. The breakfast person was preparing and washing dishes, which was on the opposite of the wall from our bed. Needless to say, we didn't sleep very much after 5:00 a.m. However, the owner who was on site that morning worked it out that we could stay in another room the next two nights, even though they were totally booked solid. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was awesome. The rest of the staff was courteous and competent, which always helps. We will return when we are in the area again and need to a hotel.
We recently opened a Best Western credit card and so far have been very impressed. Within an a few hours they matched my status from Hilton. We stayed here because Best Western has a promotion currently in which almost every North American hotel is only 10,000 points. This hotel has been nicely remodeled and overall feels very fresh. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and upgraded us to a King Suite. The room was spacious, with two televisions and it even had a K-Cup coffee maker. The breakfast was great and, compared to similar properties, towards the top. I think some people still have the view that Best Western is an outdated chain. However based on our stay here they definitely deserve a chance.
We were in a crunch. 80 people had booked anot her hotel in Overland Park to arrive and discover it was about to close, full of bugs, and the cleanliness was non-existent.... we frantically called around to find the Best Western Plus. We had just left a conference that said "sometimes you have to go to the PIT to get to the PALACE." The first hotel we had booked was definitely the pit, and the Best Western Plus was our palace! Their breakfast was phenomenal! The cleanliness and kindness of the staff was unmatched. Definitely will recommend this place to anyone who asks. The staff was able to get us 24 rooms within a matter of minutes, at midnight. We were so very blessed to get to spend some time there.
You could make millions on a law suit. Tub has no safety bars, nowhere for a washcloth or bar of soap. Not nonslip tub. Only safety bar between tub and toilet. There are dozens of ways to fall in or out of tub and hit your head, break a hip or knee, break your neck. Most unsafe bathroom I have ever seen. Take a fall and retire on them.
Came in town for family visit and we will always stay here when we come back! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was hot and fresh! Family used pool and fitness center and both were clean and well taken care of!
I was staying in Kansas City for business. I chose this hotel due to it being close to one of the meetings that I scheduled. The hotel was very clean and the staff upon arriving, was so friendly and helpful. The room was very well decorated and clean. The pool area was well maintained. I really enjoyed the breakfast. Had all of my favorite items! Check out was easy and quick. I would definitely stay here again if having meetings in the area.
The hotel and everything was clean and the service was great! The hotel was affordable and the breakfast was great! Also, enjoyed the inroom Keurig! Would definitly stay there again if the need arrives.
I spent two nice here while attending a conference in Raytown. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the lobby was inviting, and the staff members were friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
First time but would gladly use this in the future, if needing to be in the area. Ease of access to major highways but a beautiful setting. Internet service was good. Though access to major highways noise in rooms was not evident. Good swimming pool and weight room. Breakfast menu very adequate and included with room rental.
Excellent service clean rooms outstanding breakfast kept hot well stocked. Staff were professional, friendly checkout was quick. The entrance was clean open we appreciated the free USA Today coffee in the room and the flavored creamers. Appreciated the low tub was easy to step into and out of.
Would pick as a first choice hotel next time I travel. Not one bad experience with the hotel or staff and staff was very curtious, helpful and kind. Would like to see more liquid flavored coffee creamer in room or at breakfast.
Nice location in a quiet area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was pretty good! I would stay here again! It's not right in the middle of the city, which I prefer, but it was easy to access from the highway.
stayed 3 nights. Was given a handicap room. It was clean & nicely decorated, but very unhandy. We are not disabled in any way, was the only king left for a 3- night stay. The bed was awful. It was so high I could barely get in and out, and the mattress curled up like a boat. The shower...ugh... Was a walk - in shower but the water ran over the rim & all over the floor & under the door into the hallway. A fall would be so easy. I was miserable. Plus side... extremely friendly ppl & a wonderful hot breakfast. One more thing...a week earlier we had a king room on the 2nd floor & it was perfect. Comfy bed & wonderful shower. Just be wary about the handicap rooms.
When we arrived with family for the wedding we met a young man who checked us in. His smile and attention to detail was perfect. He really was very kind and had a perfect sense of humor for a busy mother of the bride. Our stay was wonderful. The manager was present and a working manager the maintenance man was always on site. Great job Staff! Only one thing we'd like to see is another trash receptacle in the living quarters.
The front desk was polite & friendly. The room was clean & Breakfast was excellent. We would stay here again & recommend this hotel as a great place to stay. Management was very approachable & friendly.
We hare very happy that they allow pets here. Also, the beds were very comfortable. We slept amazingly during our stay. Everyone was very nice and friendly and also very helpful. We will definitely stay again.
Very nice hotel and property. Hot breakfast. Nice restaurant and bar across the parking lot with discount for hotel guests. Only a few miles off I-70 and close to quite a few shopping options as well as the sports stadiums.
Check in was friendly. Breakfast had a good selection. Room smelled moldy. Headboard had little handprints on it I cleaned off myself. Bathroom floor was sticky. Bed was comfortable. Check went smoothly. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This was a great hotel for a short family visit for me and my son. Check in was quick. Room was inviting. The beds were extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows. We were provided with an ample number of fluffy towels and washcloths. The areas is quiet and peaceful. There is a nice restaurant next to the hotel. Refrigerator was cold and we had a microwave. There was a Keurig coffee maker, which I didn't use because they had great coffee in the lobby. Wi-Fi worked perfectly and TV was good. Our room was cleaned promptly each day. The breakfast was adequate. Dining area was clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
Trip with my son to visit family. Stay was better than expected. Hotel was recently renovated. Everything was clean and modernized. The beds were extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows. We had extra towels and washcloths without even asking. Wi-Fi worked wonderfully with no outages. Breakfast was adequate. Dining area was clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
Check in was super quick and painless. The beds were amazing, room was clean and the area was pretty quiet. Breakfast was over at 9 am and we got in at almost 3 am so we missed that. The lobby was inviting. And the gentleman working night audit that checked us in was great.
The value of the hotel really appealed to me but I sure got what I paid for. The cleanliness of the lobby and my room really lacked, with sticky dirty floors. My two rooms were not made up 2 days in a row! And finally the breakfast was always the same 7 days in a row and the staff were filling up their plates every morning, made me feel very uncomfortable!
Room was nice and comfortable, bed was comfortable. Had reserved 2 queens, when given an upgrade didn't realize it would be a king size bed. Would've preferred to stay with the queens, but the check in staff didn't tell me it would be King. Also, the cleaning maids in the mornings go down the hall knocking on the rooms and hollering "housekeeping" to see if people are still in the rooms. Would be nicer if they didn't do that because some people want to sleep a little later or they've had a late check in.
This hotel was so convenient to everywhere I needed to go for the weekend. It is very close to major interstate access and is newly opened. In addition it is next door to my favorite restaurant in Lee's Summit, the Summit Grill. I will return here in the future. Can't beat the price in the area for the amenities.
Room was clean and comfortable. Evening desk clerk went out of her way to meet a special need I had. Also, I had to leave early the next morning before breakfast was ready. The breakfast staff allowed me to get some food early. Very pleasant experience overall. The only negative is that the TV's in the fitness center were not working, but that was a minor inconvenience.
I have to say that the service received at this hotel was second to none. We had arranged a trip for the eclipse 9 months in advance, but when we arrived we found there was no reservation which was made via booking.com and had not been registered on best westerns system. The lady at the desk, I think her name was Jennifer, did everything she could to accommodate us even though the hotel was full for the first night. I would like to praise her fantastic manner and service in particular, but everyone we dealt with were also very pleasant and helpful. The facilities in the hotel were good as were the rooms. Well done best western and Jennifer. (Great breakfast as well)
The room was spacious and clean, beds were comfortable. Several issues with maintenance: 1. Bathroom Exhaust fan not working, 2. TV, Microwave, and coffee maker inoperative possible electrical problem with outlet. 3.Toilet seat loose. Only stayed one night so do not know if the reported problems were addressed by the front desk.
Great staff great place to stay.Manger David Elijah and Jennifer at front desk were super. They checked on us daily. Great breakfast and when they found out we were checking out at 4:00 A.M. they had fruit and snacks in getaway bags for us.5nights stay was SUPER
This is a great Best Western.....clean and well kept from the parking lot all the way up to the guest rooms. Very friendly staff that is attentive to your needs. Rooms are well appointed with all the nice touches you expect. Will stay here again when I'm back in KC.
This is our 4th long-term stay at this hotel. We appreciate their good service, wonderful breakfast, pool, great bed linens and towels We slept extremely well for 14 consecutive nights. Will not hesitate to stay again when visitin relatives and enjoying the area.
I cannot see how can beat the value that Best Western Plus provides. From the high speed internet to the hot breakfast you always feel right at home during your stay. I have stayed at a large number of hotels and this is in my opinion the best value.
We liked the location and look of this hotel. Our main complaint was that we paid for a sitting room knowing we were going to be in the room a big part of one day and wanted TV without sitting on bed. The remote for the TV in sitting area didn't work and the situation wasn't resolved while we were there. Bath room is very small. There was a 'swooshing' sound the entire time, that we think might have been coming from the refrigerator. Housekeeping didn't make bed, only changed out towels. Other than that, the room was comfy and location was great for attending Kauffman Stadium.
Manager and staff were very pleasant & helpful! Manager cleaned and visited (even remembering why we were visiting the area) with the guest at breakfast. Hotel in all areas was clean and attractive. We felt safe at all times during our stay, even coming into the hotel about 11pm.
Very nice, clean hotel. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Only 2 things negative to say. There was a strong musty smell coming from the air conditioner and there was no decaf coffee to be had, not in the room or the front desk. I travel a lot for work and this is the first hotel ever not to have decaf to relax at night...
Room was very clean and large enough to be comfortable for a family. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Plenty of fluffy towels. Cold fridge with ample storage for our needs. TV had lots of channels available. The extra sink outside the bathroom was handy in the morning. Everything in the room seemed to be updated.
We moved to Florida 26 years ago from this area and still return to visit family and friends several times a year. We have stayed several places on our many trips to this area and find Best Western Plus in Lee's Summit to be the place we like the most! It is extremely convenient to get around all areas of Kansas City. It has a great restaurant right next door! We would recommend it for any occasion!
The hotel should be nicer than it is for the price and the BW Plus label. The decor is modern and rooms have been updated but the work was done badly and obviously no one made the contractor fix their errors. Cleaning in our room was not done well and there were dust and finger prints on many surfaces and above the beds. There was old tooth paste on some of the less obvious places in the bathroom. Generally the hotel is ok but it suffers from care and attention from the staff. Front entry was not swept either and while thats not a big deal it has more significance when the room isn't well cleaned either. The room itself smelled of old cigarettes covered up by fragrance.
Very disappointing stay! We stayed for 6 days and 5 nights (as part of a group). During this stay, our room was cleaned by housekeeping only ONE time, despite numerous requests to the front desk. Housekeeping would arrive too early, usually while we were still asleep. However, most days we were gone from the hotel by 10:00am, only to return in the evening to a still uncleaned room. We had to ask for towels, wash cloths, and toilet paper from the front desk each night. Manager was not available to discuss this at time of check out.
They were very accommodating to our requests to have rooms close together. Very helpful with our reservation changes. They were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the area. Great sleeping, quiet.
A hotel room has to be clean every day of my stay. Housekeeping did a horrible job. I had to make a trip to front desk every day of my stay to get toilet paper and towels. I had to buy lysol to sanitize the restroom. Hair all over the floor. I can't believe how do the housekeeping ladies still have a job at this hotel.
Overall service was good, Although the electricity went out and was out all night until 7 am the next morning, the staff was nice. I only thought that we would have received some type of refund with lights being out all night which means no air, no tv, no nothing but stay in your room in the dark. We used out flashlights on our cell phones to move about the room.
Not a Plus hotel. Normally a Plus hotel is a nicer Best Western hotel. Did not fit the bill. Manager needs someone to assign somebody to clean up during breakfast. One young worker stood up to the challenge on our last day.
I was so disappointed in this hotel. From the water all over the lobby floor when I walked in to the robot attendant at the desk. No one was refreshing the breakfast and it was not what I expect with Best Western Plus - not even Best Western. Noisy from the hall -kids running around until about midnight. Will not stay here again unless everything else is full.
Jennifer was at the desk when I checked in. She remembered making my reservation and got us into a room quickly. She loved up my dog when I brought him in and told me about the park behind the hotel for walking him. Rosalie (?) checked us out the next morning, and even though it was obvious that it was a hectic morning (there was at least one sports team on property), she was as courteous as if I'd been the only person in the lobby. Large park area behind the hotel for dog walking. Belongs to the church next door, but they don't seem to mind as long as owners clean up. Hotel in a quiet area off the interstate, but easy to get to. Restaurant next door somewhat pricey American cuisine, but portions were very large. Parking lot well lit in front, but not as well in back. Didn't find the doggie bag station, but brought my own. Property renovated in the last year, so everything pretty new. Room was satisfactory, and it probably would have been a quiet evening except for the aforementioned sports teams in the halls and public areas. Breakfast was pretty standard for BW properties, but ample enough. Would stay here again.
This is an 'out of the way' right off I-70, hotel with a very nice restaurant just the parking lot away. Although our room was clean, I'm not sure the bathroom got the special attention that was needed. Shower curtain seemed a bit iffy and there was hair in the tub. Other than that, it was a good stay. There is also a walking path in back that was quite lovely. Lots of flowers, well kept...beautiful!
Lovely, attentive staff and comfy, updated room made this a pleasant stopover on a long road trip. We all noticed the pleasant smell, more like the absence of usual musty motel odors, and the updated decor (grays and darks). Pool looked nice and everyone found something to eat at breakfast. Upgraded hair dryer and Keurig coffee maker. As noted in other reviews, room is a little small but fine for us. Convenient location. Could have been a little cleaner... hair in the shower, shower curtain with hole, and beetles, but we suspect this is unusual based on other reviews. Not the quietest... noise thru door from hallway. Would stay again tho.
Couldn't have asked for better for the price we paid. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were updated and extremely comfortable. Breakfast have us some really good options as well. Will definitely stay again.
Was asked to sign check in form without rate/tax information. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to print, I hand wrote rate and tax info. On check out, clerk said that they do not provide a receipt even though they swiped my credit card because I had booked through third party (Expedia). After insisting and point out that this has never occurred with either Expedia or BW bookings before, she indignantly said she would try to print a bill. It did print just fine. I found the check in and check out shady and suspicious.
This hotel is very well located in between independence and Lee's Summit. It has a great restaurant very close called the Summit Grill. It is very close to a powerful church Glory Bible Fellowship International Church. Great breakfast perfect rooms and there are several whirlpool suites.
Hallways and elevators were dirty The breakfast food lacked quality and imagination. Donuts, apples, bananas, sugar yogurt, waffels, eggs and greasy beacon. Coffee was poor at best.We would not recommend this hotel for value for your money.
This motel had everything we have come to expect from a Best Western. It was clean, had courteous staff and was well cared for. They had a restaurant nearby that had great food and was also a very good establishment. Overall we had a pleasant experience.
Always a very respectful and courteous staff going out of their way to assist in any way possible. I always look to book my travel with Best Western Plus hotels. Tremendous service and care at a very reasonable and fair price.
We went to our niece's graduation and at the last minute decided to spend the night and go back the following day to our home 3 hours away. We happened to get a drink at the very nice restaurant in front of the Hotel. The waitress was very helpful and got the number for the Hotel when we decided that would be our plan. Went to front desk after calling to check on availability. Every worker at the front desk was super pleasant and efficient. Our room was a 1st floor suite which was very nice. It was clean, comfortable, and perfect. The exercise room two doors down was nice as well. Great breakfast and positive experience.
Our family traveled for a graduation ceremony in Kansas City. We were able to book rooms close together and also at the same time. Rooms were clean, breakfast was great, staff were all wonderful. Will definitely stay again.
Nice, comfortable, clean & friendly hotel! Would highly recommend. Reasonably priced. Great location and highway access. Staff was great and helpful. The manager, Dave was very helpful and made sure all customers were satisfied with their breakfast.
Clean hotel, friendly staff, Clean pool area. Excellent restaurant next to the hotel. Easy access to the highway. Hotel area is very peaceful Nice walking trail behind hotel Independence Shopping Center is not a far drive away.
Clean room, courteous staff, good breakfast. Easy access to freeway. Restaurant next to property. Shopping nearby by freeway. Dounuts available in lobby all day along with coffee and tea choices Would stay again
This hotel is new and a great clean place, needed a place close to an event that I was attending and this filled the bill. Staff was great, definitely will stay here again. Every thing was nice and clean well maintained.
I found this hotel to be very clean, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are very nice. I really liked having two big LED TV's too with a ton of channels. The complimentary hot breakfast was a nice surprise.
This is one of the top Best Westerns in the country. Excellent room, food, location, staff. I will definitely stay here whenever I am in the area. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds super comfortable, the hot breakfast is excellent and it's a great spot to hold a business meeting. The Summit Grill right next door is a really good restaurant and bar. This is a real gem if you need a good place to stay for a super value in the area.
I was most impressed with the staff at this hotel. The owners were out at breakfast making sure guests were happy - and they were actually tending to tables. But everyone at the front desk was very friendly and even housekeepers with whom I came in contact in the hallways were the same.
My stay at this hotel was as good as any I have experienced anywhere. The staff was friendly and responsive to your needs. This is the first time I have encountered the direct involvement of ownership to guaranteeing that your stay was enjoyable and your needs were met. Everyone from staff to management to ownership was dedicated to making your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
The hotel was not bad overall but it felt kind of dirty especially the shower area. The tub had a black ring and the shower curtain had black stains on it. When I informed the front desk the girl didn't seem to think it was a big deal. The breakfast was not bad, it is a full breakfast. I did ask another guest about the cleanliness of his room and he said it was good so maybe I got the bad room of the hotel but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and made me want to find lodging elsewhere for my yearly trip to the area.
This hotel was in a nice location, right off the highway with a nice restaurant next door. The front lobby is very nice. They offered complimentary ice water and pastries. We didn't try the pastries, but they looked good. The front desk help was very nice and assisted us in getting our room earlier than the check-in time. I think the room had been remodeled. It looked like a jr suite, even though we didn't book one. It had a nice new loveseat and 2 large flat screen TV's. It actually smelled good too. I don't know if they use aromatherapy or what, but it was a very pleasant smell, not overpowering. The only downside I could see was the bathroom was a bit small. It could only handle one person, but that wasn't a big issue for us. Be careful getting in and out of the tub. I think they use a water softener system which may have caused the tub to be a bit slippery. Other than that, it was a great experience. The breakfast buffet was also very good. Lots of items to choose from. I recommend this place if you are staying in Lee's Summit.
Best, most courteous staff I have ever dealt with. I stayed for 30 nights and the 2 Daves and Rosie made sure that I had everything I needed everyday. I made them aware of a water pressure issue on a Friday afternoon and they paid a plumber to come in, after hours, to fix it. Even though I told them I could wait until Monday. I would definitely stay there again
We booked 2 nights at the BW in March, based on previous TA reviews. If I could rate this property a zero I would. Upon arrival, we found the entry foyer to be dirty and the hotel lobby very dark, sparse and dingy. Waited quite a while to check in as there was only one desk clerk. When we finally got checked in and went to our room, we discovered the elevator and hallway carpet to be dirty. Although the hotel has been rehabbed (so they say; were told it was previously a Quality Inn), the lighting is very dim and the hallways unappealing. Our room was dirty - black dirt (not just dust) on the wall heater; likewise on the backsplash around the sink in the tiny bathroom. Lampshades were askew; low wattage bulbs in the lamps. We checked the sheets on the bed as our comfort level wasn't high that they were clean. There weren't any bed bugs but the sheets were wrinkly and looked like they'd been slept in many times. We called the desk and asked the manager to come to our room. He agreed to let us check out with no charge. As we left the lobby, the desk clerk made the comment that they still have problems with housekeeping. We were happy we could get a room at the Lee's Summit Hampton Inn which is an amazing property and well worth the difference in price. We'll always stay there!
Check in was easy and room had very comfortable beds. A great night's sleep! Clean and updated decor. Kids loved the pool! I was hoping for a hot tub to relax in but they only have thre pool. Slept through the free breakfast but needed the rest!
The Staff was awesome, they actually care witch is very rare to find. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I came down for a business trip and the front desk made it extremely easy for my wife and I to check in early. With that kind gesture I was able to have my business meeting over with the same day I arrived. Now that's what I call efficient. Thank you to the Staff a very helpful group. I would recommend this hotel above others.
I have had a great experience every time I stay here. Staff is very friendly and attractive and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is strong to quite strong. The pool is great for kids and redesign is great.
This hotel has been recently refurbished to an excellent standard. Rooms are comfortable and are a good size. Staff are helpful, friendly, and available. Mackenzie was a particular highlight. I would certainly recommend and will stay again when visiting Kansas City.
I had several issues that happen during my stay. The staff at this location is absolutely amazing. Much love and respect to Operations Manager Rosalie Golden for being responsive, apologetic and gracious!
We had a wonderful stay while visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday. Staff was extremely attentive and friendly - check in was efficient and quick and our rooms were clean upon arrival. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Lee's Summit!
This hotel was decent, not bad. It was a good value for what we paid. I had check-in issues and there were some issues with the TV's and one of the clean towels was dirty. Other than that, it was nice.
Our daughter plays comp softball...we prefer this hotel because it's always clean and the staff is wonderful and accommodating...some of them even know us as soon as we walk in...we stay at least sex to seven weekends per spring/summer season.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Although housekeeping obviously took a crap in the bathroom prior to our arrival. Pool was closed for cleaning for 2 full days. With three kids this made for a unpleasant experience. Laundry facilities were out of order also.
Stayed here for business at a nearby hospital. We had items shipped ahead of time to the hotel that were needed for the conference. The hotel stuffed the items both before our arrival and then afterwards while awaiting shipping. They were very accomadating. Many families at the hotel. The location was quiet, the hotel was somewhat dated and carpet/ furnishings could use a refresh. Otherwise, a pleasant enough stay for the minimal time that we spent in the hotel.
We planned a family vacation for the kids and I have never been treated so bad. The manager/owner had a very nasty attitude they would not let us sit in the dining area to have lunch even though when we checked in there was ppl eating there. I stubbed my toe on the floor in our room that was uneven the front desk lady was passed out in the corner it was just a mess that hotel was not the best by far they need to finish renovations before renting out rooms. There breakfast was horrible I just wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!! They charged us for a extra night even though we checked out that Saturday I will be filing another complaint against them for that as well.
I've traveled and stayed at this hotel a number of times for business and was quite satisfied with my visits. However, on the one occasion when my travel plans changed, and even though my reservation was cancelled 24 hours before my scheduled time, I was still charged for the room. My corporate travel department has been trying to get in contact with the hotel manager now for 3 days and has been advised that the manager isn't there very often. And also doesn't return calls. I'll most likely not be staying at this hotel again as they don't seem to respond to problems very efficiently.
