Best Western Hotel Scheele

Great stay in Köping. Staff was helpfull and room nice and clean. The delicious breakfast was the highlight! . I can defenately recomend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area. Jan & Åsa

Stayed several days for business in town. Ok for this but not the place for romantic weekends.. + Friendly staff, quiet yet central location, good parking, nice breakfast, large rooms. - No cooler or minibar, bathrooms need upgrading.

Well. It's a small country town. And the old saying that time stands still in certain places acctually is true in this case. It's like traveling back in time! Although to be fair, the rooms were pretty nice, looked renovated. And it's a swedish hotel so of course it doesn't have AC (all swedish hotels are super hot) and it was for one night only. So for the price, no complaints!

Stayed en route to Surahammar for one night. The room was a bit too hot for me and there didn't seem to be any way of adjusting the radiator or opening the window, so wasn't the best of nights sleep. Part from that the room was clean and tidy. Food in the restaurant was ok at night, but breakfast in the morning I thought was exceptional, worth staying for breakfast if you can!

The hotel is quite old, not really beautiful, dark corridors and rooms. The reception closes at 24, we arrived later and were closed out. No frigobar or the facilities in the room. The fire allarm turned on in the morning...all out for nothing. There is nothing better in Kopping, but the quality level is not high.

I usually stay in another hotel in Koping, when here on business purposes but it was fully booked. So I ended up in the "Scheele". Of course, from the outside not the most pleasing hotel. As well a bit (6min walk) to the city center. But lots of the rooms are freshly renovated, comfortable enough, clean and reasonable quiet. A big plus was the good breakfast with a nice selection as well as the bar which is in the same room and serves good draught beers. In the future I will have another option of staying.

Clean, tidy, nice evening buffet and breakfast. Pleasant staff on the evening we arrived (booked via the Koping Tourist office); however, in the morning the staff seemed a bit disorganised at Reception. Free parking at the front of the building.

I have no positive points, so i'll just write down my one night experience. The room was dusty, the WiFi was weak, TV had 6 channels and a bad remote control, the digital clock shines to the extent where it gets bothering. Going for berakfast was dissapointing. I came down at 8 in the morning and the toaster still wasn't plugged and set in the direction where you could actually stop it (I burned myself and the bread), there was no fresh bread like in their description, eggs were boiled in a way that it's hard to peel them and the yolk was semi-done (let me not explain how it's possible to do it right), the grapes were clearly not washed (you could see that typical dust on them) and the cheese was getting it's bleeching colours on the sides. The interior of the hotel is practicaly in decay. Service in reception is far from expected. No smile, no greeting and ignorance when trying to check out. I waited for five minutes in an empty hall for someone to help me check out, despite them seing me. If you expect only a bed with some food, then go for it. Otherwise just save money and sleep in the car. I wish they would do better. PS: Ofcourse they have the famous hästens beds, this company originates from Köping, but thats about it. They are to narrow anyway.

It was only a happening that I had to travel to Koping, to meet some Romanian friends whe had a contract to fulfill there. The so-called-city is not much of a city, however there are some companies there - so there is potential for business trips. I was pleasantly surprised by this tiny Best Western hotel, although it doesn't look extraordinarily fancy from the outside! We had a nice stay, and enjoyed the sauna located in the basement, a nice and warm room and a nice breakfast. To go deeper into details: - there is a sauna located in the basement, I would recommend enjoying it - breakfast is included in price and it adds some value to the overall experience: the bar is clean and warm, and there are various dishes one could choose from - there is plenty of parking spots (sometimes this is an issue with swedish locations) - the furniture style is meant to be the same in all rooms; however, I have noticed that in some rooms the furniture looked newer and a bit more modern than in some other; if you get a choice, check on it - enjoy the free wifi, although the connection is a bit annoying (keeps on going off and on)

The friendly and service minded staff is really the only thing keeping this hotel alive. I was looking forward to sleeping in the famous "hästen" bed wich is a high priced Swedish brand, but to my big disappointment the bed felt like those poor spring maddresses from the 80ties where you felt every spring in your back! My back was hurting after 2 nights in that awful bed and I had to pay for a massage to get it fixed. The room itself was very basic, small with old furnitures and small bathroom. I had bought the stay with evening buffet included and that was okay it was good and eatable. So for a 1 night stay it will do, but not if you are planning to stay longer.

If you appreciate, or see beyond, the dark 1970's exterior and decorating style, it's a very nice small town hotel with good service, great breakfast, and lots of space for kids to run around in during the long Swedish winters. The problem is the location - it's a 15 minute walk from central Köping, quite far for being such a small town. I suppose you might appreciate the gas station and the trunk road right next door if you're coming by car, but it's not very picturesque...
