Casa Mere Manchester Airport Knutsford Sure Collection by BW

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights (to attend a family funeral) 1 being accessible as essential for a wheelchair dependant adult. This was all carefully communicated when the booking was initially made and then reiterate on the phone 4 days before arrival. I also explained that we would be checking in late (approx midnight) and the hotel confirmed this was all ok. Assured no problem. When we arrived at 11pm to check in we were told that our 'accessible' room was up several stairs and steps and there was no lift in Casa Mere!!! Apparently our downstairs rooms had been given to other guests who had checked in before us. Andrew (and his wife who works at a different hotel nearby) worked hard to resolve the mistake and we were given rooms at the hotel Andrew's wife works at. We were so grateful at that stage just or have somewhere to sleep. Just to make it clear this was not Andrew's mistake but whoever had checked in previous guests at Casa Mere before our arrival. We eventually got booked into the other hotel at approx 1am or 1.30am. We also had a 2 yr old with us. Can you imagine!!!! We were all stressed anyway as the trip was to attend a family funeral. But it meant that we were between the 2 hotels and the arrangements that we had made for the morning before the funeral had to be scrapped so that we could check out of one hotel, get across to Casa Mere and get all or luggage in etc. George, the manager, was apologised and offered us a complimentary meal and a drink. I have requested a full refund.

Great staff always helpful rooms clean food good too

Our flight got cancelled we booked last minute arrived around 9pm with a big group of us the young lady made sure we got fed and cooked pizzas for us even with the kitchen being shut service was incredible really went above and beyond 👍

We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding near by. On arrival we had a warm welcome from the team and told the parking machines are broken so didn't have to pay but give car reg which we did. The hotel was prviously a Premier Inn with the rooms still holding that older style. They are dated but our room was ok. Clean bed, hot shower and good hairdryer. Had to ask for iron and ironing board which had a broken stand and needs replacing for safety! Breakfast was ok and cooked fresh and hot. There are cereals toast and pastries, too. We didn't eat at the hotel, but menu is standard pub stuff and burgers. Whilst cleanliness looks ok on face value, the whole hotel could do with a really good deep clean, painting and the carpets and chairs steam cleaned to freshen up and defintely the tables scrubbed with hot water and soap to get build up of tacky spray off. Our arms were literally sticking! Overall, it was a friendly team and a place to stay out of need.

Very convenient overnight accommodation on our way to Lancashire from Hertfordshire. Enabled a visit to near by Tatton Park before continuing our journey. Good comfortable room and enjoyable evening meal. Will stay again on next opportunity.

Service great but hotel room dated and in need of refurbishment

Do not go to this hotel. We were told parking is free and reg number was taken. I have now received two parking charge notices. No replys to emails or answers the phone. Noise when using cold water. No hot water for shower.

Outside needs a clean and sweep

Close to where we needed to be . Quiet and relaxing .reasonable quality good value including bf. My only issues was it was tooo warm although hotel does supply fans

Really grim! Room was not very clean, you wanted to wash your hands after touching the TV remote or the light switch. Dinner was utterly foul. Staff conspicuous by their absence - only one person on duty evening or morning and rushed off their feet when they were there. Breakfast ok, but vile coffee. Won't be back.

Stayed here for one night as 3 families. Although our room was clean on first inspection it unfortunately had loads of rubbish under the beds, crisps, chocolate, coke cans so whoever cleaned it last obviously didn't look under the beds. I didn't report it until the morning as it was late and we were tired. The lady serving breakfast was lovely and extremely apologetic. Breakfast was nice although a little cold so had to be eaten quickly. We were a family of 10 so perhaps why. The lady who checked us in the night before was lovely too. A little noisy overnight, my sister in law had to go out and tell some other guests to be quiet as they had woken up one of her children coming back from being out. They have a great toy room though for kids which was great as we had 4 with us and it was ideal for them. The bar area was also nice for a drink.

We were only meant to stop on the Saturday night but my husband became ill. The staff were fantastic in dealing with the situation and extension. On the Sunday morning I tried to book for the extra night but the cleaning crew were unable to facilitate this. When reception staff arrived at 3pm, my request was handled promptly by George with no indication that I was causing any issues. During the night I was downstairs feeling unwell and the lovely lady who was nighttime staff ensured that I received service above and beyond- thank you so much

I had a very pleasant stay. The place was very clean and well maintained, which made the experience comfortable and relaxing. The food was also very good, with a nice variety and great taste. A special mention to George, the manager, who was very friendly and welcoming. His warm attitude made the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay again.

My 1 star review is based on the parking at the castle mere hotel. We were entering our details into a machine inside the pub (Kilton) as this is where hotel reception is. The lady working there told me we didn't need to enter into that machine so we took her word for it and didn't enter. We then received a £60/£100 parking fine charge. I telephoned the number for hotel bookings 01565 830410/360130 only finding I couldn't get through to talk to a real person. I emailed and received an email back saying ‘ We have copied in Hotel Operations Manager in CC who will investigate and reply to you at the earliest'. I chased this up three times and as yet no one has contacted me. I disputed the fine, reported all the above to ukpc, but to no avail. Today UKPC said we have to pay it. I am really unhappy about this. Yes the hotel is clean, the rooms are decent, and food is good. However customer service is dismal.

Room was very dirty and very tired. Quilt was very thin and no heating working. Used two towels and my coat as extra blankets but was still shivering all night. Broken shower. Didn't attempt the TV. Fan in bathroom wouldn't switch off and it was really noisy. Will not visit again.

The price reflects the standard! Generally the rooms are clean and functional and overall a cheap place to stay but the whole place is very old and tired and needs major reinvestment to even improve it slightly. The breakfast and the food n the place is just utterly disgusting and I wouldn't even feed it to a dog. Avoid the food at all costs, morning staff look like they are on drugs or something as the service was terrible, they didn't even seem to know it was breakfast they were meant to be serving. Afternoon staff were very nice and welcoming and try their hardest to make you enjoy your stay.

Excellent hotel, great breakfasts, lovely bar, great staff, rooms are excellent, nice and quite, easy parking outside.

Hotel clean and tidy, Staff friendly and polite. Good location for visiting Tatton Hall, Tatton park and Tatton old hall, as well as for those flying from or landing at Manchester airport. Ok, it doesn't mention about car parking charges anywhere, but £4.50 for 24 hours is pretty good (down south you're paying triple that for a couple of hours parking). Overall very happy with our stay and if ever back up around Knutsford would happily book this hotel.

I was very pleasantly surprised with many aspects of this property, not least it's value-for-money. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and the room clean. I had asked for a quiet room as the photo showed the property fronted by what may have been a busy road. But to their credit, the hotel has had good windows fitted so all noise is greatly reduced anyway. Finally, I ate a very satisfying evening meal of beef and ale pie with chips. Typical pub grub, but surprisingly tasty and delivered on a heated plate, which is a big plus for me. My Continental Breakfast was more than adequate so I left feeling very positive about my stay and would happily recommend it to anyone as a decent option for those on a budget

We stayed here 2 nights whilst visiting the area. It's better inside than it looks. The rooms have a Premier Inn feel to them and are spacious. It was also warm, but the windows do open if you need it. There's a bath and over shower. The bed and pillows were sadly was a little too hard for us. There's a large car park for which you pay £2 a night, payable at reception. Being near Manchester airport there's noise from there, but we managed to block it out even with the window open. We were on a room only deal, so paid for the cooked breakfasts. It's one of the best I've seen, with plenty of choice and only £10.50. The cooked meal is served to the table. The evening meals are a little more limited, although they claim to serve 24hr pizza. We didn't try them. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I did try and ring several times beforehand and never got an answer and left a message with my query, which wasn't replied to, but I got a reply by email.

Me & my partner stay here the night before flying out next day. Nice and clean spacious room with very large comfortable beds. Nice cooked breakfast next Monday. Very helpful and pleasant staff, look forward to coming back again. Would highly recommend it.

Found the staff to be somewhat rude when asking simple requests or about issues Bar had next to no alcohol remaining as I was told they had a wedding party staying and had no restocked from a week ago. Internet was unusable as was slow ot weak signal. When checking was told there was an additional £25 charge for an unpaid check, but it was cleared the previous evening before going to rooms in the evening. Hotel bathroom had a sewage smell Hotel staff were loudly talking and moving bins outside my room window at 0530. Tables were left uncleared for upto 30-40 minutes after other guests left them. Shower in room would drip throughout the night. Breakfast was stale bread, when toasted became even harder and pastries were hard. Milk wasn't cooled just left in an open container on the side all morning.

Has a lovely stay at casa..friendly staff…clean..rooms were spotless to be fair..definately stop again..under £10 for an uber to knutsford itself…and if you are fortunate enough to bump into Angela in a morning..what a lovely woman..thank you Angela if you read this xxx

Peaceful Haven with gorgeous comfy and clean rooms. The restaurant was lovely and the food was absolutely delicious. Slept really well in the comfy bed, and loved the biscuits in the room to have with my mug of tea. Excellent value for money too

George, looked after us extremely well. We felt very at home and I'd definitely choose to stay here again. We came for the drone show and it was very convenient and comfortable

Loved our stay at Casa Mere. The staff weren't lovely and friendly. Room was clean and airy. Lovely bed and shower. Loved the breakfast - plenty to choose from both cooked and continental. Not far from Knutsford. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

Had a late flught coming home to Manchester airport. Stayed here before travelling up to Scotland the following day. We never arrived until the middle of the night but 24 hour reception. Spacious, clean rooms. Breakfast was great. Lovely staff. Great kids areas indoors and outdoors. Would recommend.

My recent stay at was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. My room was beautifully appointed, immaculately clean, and offered a breathtaking view. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I enjoyed a fantastic night's sleep!!

Well we're do start they were so invinting as o walked in and so pleasant the hotel is on a great area for work and would highly recommend it to any one it is a shame cresta court is closed because Katie is there but we have George he is a lovely any way see you later Katie Sam Ella my kid fish

The staff, George and Lucy were so inviting and helpful. They really made us feel welcome. The bedroom was gorgeous on arrival and really comfortable. The only issue that i had was that the bathroom is quite noisy when the water is activated (taps, shower, toilet flushing) and i couldn't get the shower to run hot in the morning . The pub below is a great place to relax after work too as an added bonus and very nice. I would definitely stay again if needed

Me and my partner stayed here in October and I can not fault the hotel! Everything was amazing the room was gorgeous the pillows! Breakfast was amazing and not to forget the staff they couldn't do enough for you! So thank you for making our child night away one to remember!

My job means plenty of time spent in hotels. I stayed at this location and didn't have high expectations after reading some of the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The team are so friendly, nothing is to much trouble. Although it is not the most luxurious hotel my room was spotless. Breakfast was amazing. Speedy fresh hot and lots of choice. If you are looking for a clean comfortable home away from home Casa Mere is a must

We stayed here for two nights to attend a wedding in Manchester. The hotel is conveniently located for hopping on and off the M6 and offered reasonable rates compared to hotels in Manchester at that time. We encountered one member of staff who was friendly and helpful, meeting our request for an extension lead so that we could plug a CPAP machine in close to the bed as there are no plug sockets located there. Unfortunately thats where the positives end. The hotel is run down and in need of some pretty heafty work. There was an awful smell all through the corridor and into the room. The room was also damp, and the carpet filthy. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned well and there were multiple pubic hairs over the floor and in the shower. Our main reason for choosing casa mere was the affordable price, as a family of four feeling the effects of recdntly dropping to down to one income due to redundancy we were on a tight budget. Upon arrival we were told we needed to pay for the room. I was pretty sure we had already paid when booking online but neither of the two booking confirmation emails stated payment was taken. We therefore had to pay again. Upon checking our bank it quickly became apparent that payment had been taken twice. We raised this with staff at reception who originally contested stating their system showed only one payment. Having shown them the double payment on the banking app they looked into it further and agreed there had been two payments made. However they told us they were unable to give us a refund as it needed to be done through head office and they would email them to get the issue resolved. We left casa mere on the Sunday without a refund, and returned home to contact head office. Head office informed us that the hotel can make direct refunds, we should have recieved a refund there and then on the day, and indeed it needed to be done that way. We had been lied to. Fast forward two weeks from staying at casa mere and we still haven't recieved a refund, despite multiple promises of it being processed!! Absolutely shocking customer service, leaving us £128 out of pocket. The equivalent to a weekly food shop, which leaves us in a position of wondering how we will feed our kids! In a cost of living crisis you'd like to think there was understanding and empathy to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. The staff here clearly do not care!

Nicely priced for the area. Easy parking. Check in at the bar area. Key card in the door not working. Took my husband 3 visits up and down the stairs to the bar to actually get the guy to come and check the door, to find out the battery had ran out on the door lock. 30 minutes wait while the guy changed the batteries in the door for the key card to work. Room clean and nice touch of welcome cookies on the bed. The bar menu food was absolutely shocking. We stayed here about 8 months ago and they did really nice steak menu (which is why we re-booked) the menu now only consists of pasties and hash browns. We ended up driving out to collect a Chinese. In checkout we saw takeout cartons outside other rooms on the floor so seems other guests weren't impressed either . £11.60 for 2 pints in the bar. Food in the bar closes at 8pm. Bathroom not the cleanest. Screws on the floor. No hand wash and see photo.
