Aiden by Best Western Stockholm Kista

Very nice and modern hotel: I loved the style. Just there isn't a wide choice of the TV channels but it might be common in Sweden... The breakfast is good and there is a wide choice. Although Krista is a boring place to be, this hotel is very comfortable. Located a few steps to the shopping center and transportations.

Bad beds! I usually sleep in my hotelrooms, duh! This bed was a disaster! Way to small for two people and intolerably soft. Choose other accomodations! The rest of the experience was average, room small but sufficent for our need (we only slept in it). TV was advertised as beeing ”chromecast ready” but I could not connect to it, swedish channels 1,2 and 4 was it…

The Kista area is less than 20 minutes from the city centre by the blue metro line, and from Kista station, it is about a 10 minute walk to the hotel. This is a business park so it gets quiet at night, but the shopping mall attached to the station has 2 supermarkets and a lot of restaurants. Check-in is by machine that doesn't open until 3pm sharp but it was relatively easy to get things done. I was cheap and booked a single room with no window. I really recommend you to pick a bigger room as it did feel a bit claustrophobic - I could barely sit at the small work desk and the air vent blew right on my head so I had to reverse my sleeping position. It does have a long line of windows but towards the internal courtyard and corridors so it is quite bright during the day but feels quite exposed. Now the negatives. No tissue box provided (they had at the Best Western location in Gothenburg), housekeeping only every 3 days, and they ran out of shaving kits. Stockholm is an expensive place to stay so even though the nightly rate is not cheap, it's still relatively decent value but don't expect too much.

Stayed here for one night on a work trip, and was unaware the work travel agent had booked me into a budget single room, whilst I can generally live with this for a one night crash pad, the room I found myself in is (unsurprisingly) not shown on their website, the single they do show is fully glass-sided so has a lot of light which helps make it feel a bit bigger...my room had no windows, and was painted grey, it is quite literally a prison cell without the bars, don't roll over in your sleep or you will smash your head off the "desk"...the safe didn't even close as the lock had been engaged with the door open...and all this for just £110! Pretty unfriendly reception/bar staff, the shuffleboard table was fun though (albeit there is no silicon shaker on it so hard to keep the table lubricated, especially if people brush it odd! The normal rooms look pretty nice from the website photos, but I wouldn't stay in this room again if you paid me (and I technically was the first time).
