This Best Western is perfectly located along the I-5, right about where we needed a break from driving. It is clean, comfortable, and the staff is friendly. The breakfast room was stocked and clean. In fact, I thanked Dora as she tactfully kept the place cleaned up after both adults and children. (Dora, my apologies if I misspelled your name). All in all, we will likely plan our future driving times around the ability to stay at this Best Western. Thank you.

This is an excellent Best Western and if you have to stay in Kettlemen City, you will like it. There's not much to see or do in this area, but its a good place to stay on your way to anywhere. It's well maintained and the staff was pleasant and friendly.

Lovely room, all amenities, and very comfortable. Nice staff, and a decent breakfast, too. The hotel's exterior looked a bit bleak and off-putting when we arrived, because a renovation is in progress, but the inside was fine. As Kettleman City tap water is undrinkable, we were given free bottled water. The hotel's convenient location also made it a welcome stop on the long I-5 haul. We'll stay here again.

This is the second time we stayed in this best western location and we always have a very great experience the rooms are clean and big and the staff are very accommodating. The breakfast they serve is good as well .

Hotel beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice too. Breakfast included biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, cereals and yogurt. Pool is closed. Recommend getting an upstairs room. We heard the people above us running or jumping around at 11:40pm and again at 7:00am.

The location of this hotel is perfect for travelers on I-5. It is about halfway from Los Angeles/Orange County to the Bay Area, specifically, to the TriValley area (Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon). The hotel is within walking distance to Bravo Farms, food, e.g. Baja Fresh, McDonalds, Jack in the Box, etc. and also next to the Tesla charging station. The hotel staff is friendly. The location of the hotel is quiet but has easy access to I-5 freeway. Your stay includes a complimentary hot breakfast. The rooms are clean, and they have pet-friendly rooms at no extra charge if you choose the "pet-friendly" room.

1) Overall= outstanding experience. 2) Guest rooms and bathrooms were super clean; ladies taking care of that did an excellent job. 3) Front desk people were very polite and helpful. 3) Both ladies at the breakfast room were efficient - continuously replenishing food as necessary and cleaning up tables after guest left a table. 4) Breakfast could be improved by adding two more items: a) Egg Frittata and b) Bean and cheese burrito. 5) Internet was good, but more speedy internet would make it excellent. 6) Hotel management more assurance that they are doing everything in their power to protect guest cars.

This is an "OK" hotel with good service. A little more thought put into the design would have made it a very good to excellent hotel. Things like no place to hang toiletry bags except over the toilet, a bathroom door that would not stay open, drapes that covered the air conditioner vents, a remote that didn't appear to control TV volume, and only one sink in a suite where there was room for two were irritating. But the staff was helpful and the bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was average.

So not sure what we expected for Kettleman city it's not much of a town but the hotel was in great shape beds were super comfy You could tellthey were in the middle of a remodel and it shows. the staff was very helpful and amazing we definitely stay there again when traveling

This hotel does not have great curb appeal, but the rooms are surprisingly comfortable. The front desk was fast and friendly. The room was clean and cozy. Air conditioning worked great with temperatures over 95 degrees outside. Convenient location for walking to a couple restaurants. Alert: Kettleman is a place to pull off the freeway for gas, starbucks, fast food, and an overnight stay between the Bay Area and Los angeles. Otherwise the town has absolutely nothing to offer. Kettleman is a good stop roughly halfway between the San Francisco Bay area and Los angeles.

There is not much along I-5 in these parts and if you're on a long drive this is a good place to stop overnight. The pet-friendly room had wood-look vinyl flooring which is great for accommodating the furry guests. Very high and very firm bed which was okay with me, but there were not enough pillows. The bathroom had only 2 towels for a room that accommodates 4 people, plus the hand towel holder next to the bathroom sink fell off the wall when I went to dry my hands! Overall the refurbishment of the bathroom was nice and the accommodation was clean. The wifi is fast and the TV is good. Close to Denny's, Starbucks, and gas...exactly what we wanted! Overall it was a very quiet night and we didn't hear noise from I5 even though it's nearby. This hotel does have plenty of spaces for dog guests as there are lots of 'grass' areas around the perimeter of the property as well as several dog stations with bags. One larger area near the entrance is real, lush grass while the rest is fake grass. My dog prefers the real stuff but I appreciate it's difficult to keep nice grass growing in this desert-like area so I appreciate the accommodation for our furry family members. The pet fee is quite reasonable at $10. There are lots of trash bits and butts on parts of the fake grass areas because those are also designated smoking areas. We had a 1st floor room and my biggest concern was that you could see daylight under the door which made me concerned for insects or other critters that could crawl under (see photo). Overall it was a reasonable accommodation, clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

It was great! Would recommend. Very clean. Staff very attentive to our needs. The room was very nice after a long day of driving. Beds were nice and comfortable. I slept like a rock. Would definitely recommend.

I thought this was the best stopping point for the night. The cost was the most expensive on my trip from Oregon to Texas. I found this odd because it looked more basic and run down than other hotels I stayed at for less. The front desk girl was very nice and accommodating. We went to the room. It was adequate for a nights sleep. The sheets had human hair in one of the beds and pet hair in both. I removed the hair and was too tired to let the front desk girl know. She might have given me another room if I had shown her. The only 2 negatives here was the cost and the hair in the beds. Staff seems to be friendly and professional. The place looks simple and rundown but it is not a bad place to sleep.

This was my first time staying at the Best Western in Kettleman City. The hotel is very easy to reach from the highway, and is located by a number of fast food or sit-down restaurants. There even is a Starbucks nearby. The hotel is rather basic straight-forward, and not very large, but we found that it had very good rooms with a good bed and a large, well appointed bathroom. The cable is an expanded version of Direct TV, with a LOT to watch. The breakfast room is medium in size, and the breakfast was hot and enjoyable. There was some maintenance around the pool, which is very small and outside. If you have a Tesla, you have won the lottery, as there is a Tesla Supercharger station right next door. The price we paid was just right for the services provided, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Repeating: It is a simple hotel, but everything works, the people are nice, and we got a great night's sleep. Easy parking too.

We were tired from the holiday festivities visiting family and decided to stop halfway between LA and SF. We normally drive straight through on 5. The holiday traffic on 5 was dreadful, the weather rainy, so we made the wise decision to spend the night in Kettleman City at the Best Western. The room, 2 queen beds, was large and very clean. Also quiet, which surprised me, since it's just a bit off the busy highway. There was a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, table and chairs, large tv and wonderful shower tub combo. The towels were fluffy, the beds very comfortable. There are plenty of places to eat near the hotel. We opted to order take out at Dennys and eat in our room. After an excellent sleep, we had the included breakfast in the area off the lobby. It is staffed by the kindest lady, I believe her name is Dora. She kept the area and tables spotless and the food coming out fresh and hot. The kitchen put out scrambled eggs, and bacon, along with my favorite, biscuits and gravy. The biscuits, hot, fresh, light, the gravy delicious. You could make your own waffles and pancakes, There was fresh fruit, breads, bakery items, juices, good strong coffee, yogurt, cereal, etc. You get the idea, an excellent way to start your day. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here hoping it would be a step up from the Motel 6 down in Buttonwillow. Was it worth the extra $80 more? It depends on your budget! It was definitely $50 worthy but $80? Questionable. We took a northeast room upstairs, 2nd from the end. Although we could see trucks going up the highway out our back window the room quieted the room noise well. Nice and complete amenities. Very hard beds. I like/enjoy a firm bed but whatever toppers they have on those beds wasn't comfy enough for my old arthritic bones. There is some kind of quilted topper, I don't think foam. T.V. remote didn't work at first but a phone call down to the lobby we immediately had help and it was fixed quickly. Great t.v. choices if you're into that. Breakfast was good and service attentive. If you need quiet and it is a priority for you when on this particular highway, the room we stayed in was a good choice. Despite it being pricey for the area, we would stay here again. Suggest management get some grout in their beautiful tub surround before it gets mold in it. Room 230.

Room was nice and clean, bed was very good. Staff was extremely friendly, really seemed to care that we had a pleasant stay. Breakfast was well done and a nice addition for heading back on the road. To really nit pick, coffee at the breakfast could be a little better :). Overall a very enjoyable overnight stay while travelling.

Our room was done very tastefully, clean and comfortable and that's including the bathroom....very nice. The employees were all very kind and helpful and the breakfast was one of the best that we have had at a motel in a very long time. Way to go BW and crew :)

simple, clean and continent place to stop on the 5. We spend the night here on the way south and liked it so much we came back for our trip north. Its close to the road but not too loud. I appreciated all the food and gas option close by. Starbucks for the morning and a large tesla charging station right next to the hotel.

Hotel is clean and perfectly located between SF and LA and we stop here almost every time on our way to LA. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel allows pets but we have never noticed a pet smell. The breakfast buffet is more than acceptable. It's a great place to stop.

Clean, good breakfast, great coffee, comfortable bed. Nice staff. Get eggs, thin ham, biscuits and gravy. Make your own waffle. They have other things like cereal, yogurt, muffins etc. If your lucky to be there when Doras working she is the best. Very friendly and helpful. She helped me make my waffle. Only downfall is not many places to eat dinner. Bravo Farms probably the only good place. But sometimes really busy.

We had not planned on staying, but fog was so bad we stopped. Late night reservation experience exceptional, room was excellent, clean, large TV, very comfortable bed. Even provided breakfast! Very satisfied and even booked again for upcoming holiday travel!

The hotel was in good clean condition. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. For the location in the middle of nowhere off I-5 Freeway, it was very quiet and the beds are comfortable. Rooms are clean for an overnight stay. A few places to eat but none for a real sit down 5 star restaurant. Plenty of gas stations and 2 Taco places I found and a Denny's, In-N-Out Burger next door. Overall a fine stay.

Front office staff were great. Every employee we encountered was very pleasant. Rooms were clean and up to date. Refrigerator had a freezer section which was nice to keep our gel packs frozen. The breakfast was great. Hot waffles pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc. The woman in the breakfast area was fantastic!!

Conveniently located right off I-5. Arrived before 1pm and they had a room for us which was very accomodating. First floor room was large, clean and comfortable, right next to small outdoor pool. It was nice to be able to enjoy the pool in the afternoon. Guest laundry facility on second floor was convenient. Comfortable beds, quiet, very adequate bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, lots of hot & cold choices. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food & gas options nearby, plenty of parking. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

A last minute trip to Paso Robles this was the only available (& affordable) BW I found. If you are going to the Sensorio Field of Lights, this is about 45 miles out, but an easy drive on HWY 46 to 41. Kettleman City is a usual stopover when driving on I-5, and there are lots of amenities nearby. I reserved for a 2 Queen Suite, it was very spacious. Breakfast has a lot of offerings (compared to other BW I have stayed within the last year), they even had a pancake maker so pancakes are always fresh, not sitting on a warmer. Overall, very clean, great location off the freeway. If you are a TESLA owner, its conveniently located beside a TESLA charging station. Highly recommend this BW any day.Will definitely stay here again.

I was quite surprised at the quality of this motel. Getting off of the freeway, in a less populated area, could be dubious. The person at check-in was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. We didn't hear the person above us, until the morning, and we were barely able to tell someone was there. We couldn't hear the freeway, either. I've stayed at much more expensive hotels, that could not provide this type of quiet. The breakfast was okay. They were well stocked, and had lots of options. The yogurt and cereal were the best options. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice staff. Clean room, comfy bed. Breakfast was good. Quiet room. Would stay again! The water pressure was great with hot water. Didn't use the pool but it looked clean and nice recommend for a rest on your way to LA or back, it's half way from Sacramento

Asked for a quiet room so she tucked us into the corner and it worked. No pool noise, no freeway sounds. The motel is not upscale but it was clean and comfortable and all you should expect for this price. Service was very good all around. Thank you. Good stop off the 5 fwy.

This Best Western is approximately half way between Chico, CA and Orange County, CA, on the 5 freeway, which makes it an important rest stop if you are getting away late from either location, especially on a Friday and if you want to have an overnight break from the abundant truckers on the freeway. For those of us who appreciate having an acceptable shampoo and soap, the ones provided were nice and a good shower with attention paid to the 5 star hotel grade towels. The parking lot is safe and there is a Tesla charging station directly adjacent to the property. The breakfast is not spectacular (we were not expecting that) however, the variety was good and staff helpful at restocking and keeping everything clean.

We needed a place to stay on our way down from the Bay Area to Los Angeles. Our kids would not have survived the drive without a stop. The front desk was nicely set up and the staff were helpful. The room was nicely appointed for what's basically a motel. The bathroom was newly done and felt nice. The TV was large in size. The breakfast there was actually great. It wasn't a bag and grab. The food offerings were great for my kids (eggs, sausages, breakfast burrito, cereal, fruit, snacks, etc.). They loved the pancake making machine in particular. In addition, it's right next door to a Tesla Supercharger which is one of the reasons why we picked it. But the hotel itself does have a free level 2 charger as well. The only issues I had with the hotel was with the general grounds and internet. Maybe we caught it on a bad day but it could have been cleaner (i.e. cigarette butts, bugs in the pool which is understandable due to the heat there, etc.). The internet wasn't particularly fast but at least LTE (T-mobile) was solid.

This hotel was better than I expected. We stayed there alone night on our way to LA and we had a very positive experience- clean rooms, polite staff, etc. breakfast opened at 6am and we checked out at 530am and they offered to have us eat before we left.

We have been staying at Best Westerns because they accept dogs. This one was fine, although it had plumbing problems. The tub/shower did not drain at all! Other than that, the room was comfortable and clean.

We arrived late without a reservation and received a warm welcome. Each employee we encountered was exceptionally friendly and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. Water in the fridge was a nice touch. The breakfast burritos were good. Coffee was excellent.

This was by far one of the best disabled rooms we have stayed in in many years. Plenty of room, and spotless. Other Best Western Motels should use this one as an example and try to match their high standards.

Have stayed here multiple times and would highly recommend for travelers with pets. The rooms are clean and smell nice, not like some others that stink from deodorizer. It is nothing fancy, but a safe and clean place with nice employees.

Walls are so thin, I could hear conversations from the neighbors and every time someone walked past the room or shook the walls. The shower head in my room was broken and only spit out 3 streams of water. A bunch of guys were having a party in the room next to me so I didn't get much sleep.

My wife and I travel up to Kings County for business frequently. We have stayed at the Best Western Kettleman City Inn & Suites often. The front desk and housekeeping staff are awesome. Very pleasant and kind folks. The jacuzzi suites are best after 16-18 hour days of work!!!!

I usually make the 7 hour drives to and from LA and SF monthly without stopping. This time a combination of bad traffic and bad weather meant I would arrive home after midnight so I stopped half way to avoid the risk of dozing off on the road. This Best Western is clean, quiet, newer and conveniently located halfway. Best Western award points never expire unlike many hotel award programs so even if you stay occasionally your accumulate points. There are lots of Best Westerns in California so I is easy to find one when I need one. Kettleman City exit on Fwy 5 also has many fast food restaurants so breakfast and dinner are easy.

We were traveling with a pickup and gooseneck trailer. Plenty of parking. The outside appearance was nice. Staff was friendly. The suite (family of five) was great. Our room was clean. I would personally have liked the bedding to be a little softer. Would DEFINITELY stay again at this location if the situation came up.

professional staff, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Room was really clean and shower was excellent. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable about local restaurants etc. Breakfast had a fair selection of fruit and yoghurt.

We always stop at this halfway point on the way to see the grandkids on Christmas. Everything is so nice! It's clean, plenty of towels, free internet and breakfast, great deal, nice employees, spacious area, comfortable bed, lots of tv channels. I'd be happy to stay longer if I wasn't headed to see family.

After a full day of physical work, driving down from San Francisco, The restful night made my drive to Los Angeles the next day a pleasure. the friendliness of staff at checking in and breakfast service during this pandemic was wonderful

Couldn't be happier with this establishment. The staff are warm, inviting and courteous. One of my favorite places to stay while on the road for work. I have stayed here. Several times in the last several years. The entire property has been recently renovated. Very nice and clean.

The room was clean and a relatively good deal for the price. The staff were friendly. Bravoland (restaurant, gift shop and antiques) across the street was so much fun!! There is a ton of fast food, but not much else around.

It was a quick overnight stay traveling from Oregon to Arizona but I was a great choice as the room was very nice and the beds were so firm and comfortable. I slept so well and felt very rested in the morning!

This is our second time staying here, our first was on the beginning of our road trip from Southern California thru Oregon. The staff is beyond accommodating, and the rooms have been nicely upgraded and clean! Throughout our entire trip, we stayed at a few places that thru reviews, seemed to be a great fit (not always the case, yikes). Once on our way home -- there was no where else we would rather stay and actually drove further to stay at this location again. You will not regret staying here. It is also in a small town with this cute roadside attraction with wine tasting, shops with local goodies, restaurants, kid play area as well as an area for the pups. Do not pass this gem of a town by. Beyond this, I did leave my designer sunglasses here on our first stay--they were waiting for me as soon as I came back. A++ looking forward to our next stay

Was on a trip from so cal to San Francisco abd happened upon this hidden gem off the I-5. Best Western in Kettleman city is tucked away with lots of fast food eateries, gas stations for convenience items and even a Starbucks all within reach. The hotel is newly renovated and the staff are very courteous. Felt like I was in good hands after speaking with the receptionist, she was such a doll so helpful and willing to converse with a weary traveller. Her name was Amber and I was delighted to be greeted so warmly at such a late hour of arriving. The room was clean and comfortable for a night's stay. Would have loved to experience more of what the hotel had to offer but we had to get an early start and missed breakfast. Wouldn't mind returning as we head home just to say hi to Amber.

Stay was ok and room was clean, but fan was really loud and I couldnt eat my food in the room. Had tons on gnats or fruit flies but the front desk said that was normal this time of year. Stayed last two weeks at BW in San Diego and the grab and go breakfast was lacking compared to other the other hotels.

We arrived here late at night, after having to "flee" from a hotel in Bakersfield. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean inside and out. Lots of parking with a gravel lot for trailers or large RVs. Very convenient access to I-5.

Clean room. Access to pool. Fridge didn't work. Fan in bathroom didn't work. Door keys didn't work. Friendly staff. Hotel clean outside. Close to Bravo Farms, Gas, Tesla charging station! Spacious parking.

Was on a road trip and stopped here for the night, was super clean and all staff were wearing masks. the room was recently remodeled and very clean! we were very happy and slept well. Recommended for a quick stop by the interstate

When I think of Best Western I have have always thought classy and modern, but this property was actually kind of dumpy, I would compare it to like a Motel 6 or Econ-Lodge. It was clean enough but just not what I expected. The day I checked in they were resealing the main parking lot so after finding one of the limited parking spots all the way in the back and then walking around till I finally found the temporary check-in site, i Iwas able to check in. I had to make several trips back and forth to my vehicle. There were no luggage carts that I could find and it was hike up steps and down to get to the room. Where you had to park there was an open door but it only accessed the "suites" and had np pass through to get to the main area where my room was. I know this sounds like whining but I guess you had to be there. I stay in a hotel about 260 days a year all over the world , this property is not one of the better ones.

Room was nicely remodeled, but the overall facility was very poor. Office all torn up, new check in area was a mess. Like checking into a one star dump. "Breakfast" bag was a joke, unless you like 60 grams of sugar to start your day.

No elevator so second floor rooms are a bit of a workout. Could use gluten free options for breakfast. They adhered to all Covud 19 regulations and staff was friendly and efficient. I wish they had informed guests of the freeway offramp closures in both directions. I traveled in circles for 45 minutes and after 2 calls to the front desk for directions and GPS finally made it.

We were greeted at the door by two roaches and bid farewell by two crickets. They were remodeling, so hard to find the front desk. When found, there was no one there. Phone number was posted and I called. Person answered and seemed confused why I was calling. I am a Diamond Member and have spent more than 50 days in Best Western hotels in the last year and this was by far the worst.

There was no soap dish or place to put the soap inside the shower, a serious inconvenience. The softened water was extremely annoying. Aside from these two problems, the room was excellent. There aren't too many good places to stay on I-5 in the Central Valley south of the Gilroy turnoff. This is one, subject to those two problems.

A great place to spend the night on I-5 with our small dog. The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. My husband had breakfast in the included breakfast room and it was good. We will stay here again.

For the most part there was plenty of space to park my semi next to the hotel. I didn't make an effort to grab a bite, but there is an overwhelming amount of choices far as establishments to eat at within walking distance if your up for bit of a stroll. The part that spoiled my evening was the fact that you can hear other guests closing their room door.

Stayed here because of location. Good front desk service, lousy wifi that did not work in our room but is available in office. Small breakfast area with standard fare. Not fancy, just ok for one night.

I checked in and the service was very good. The property is an old style motel and the rooms are being remodeled. I was on the second floor and you walk up stairs that are outside. The room was very nice, but my room had ants. The breakfast was not good at all. There are no extra's that make the stay more enjoyable. They do put extra water in your frig which is a nice touch. Fresh eggs would make a big difference at breakfast.

Nice Room with a lousy view. Jacuzzi Tub took over an hour to fill up - (forgot how long that can take). The heating/air unit was extremely noisy and woke us up constantly through the night. The room is set apart from other rooms so we felt we could turn the television up really loud in order to hear over the heating unit.

Found the room clean and comfortable. We arrived late and I had concerns about the provided parking for the Uhaul and car trailer I was driving. Dirt lot away from buildings with several broken lights. Unable to change plans, checked in and fell asleep. Sure enough the next morning the car I was towing had a window broken and several items removed. Found out the security camera was blocked by a palm tree. They should do better if they say they have truck parking to make it safe!

Have stayed at this particular Best Western several times now. Always clean rooms. Professional & friendly staff. They even reminded me about my "free" gift bag for being a rewards member. We will be staying here again for sure!

Dog friendly clean, quiet, basic hotel. Even though it's next to I-5, it was very quiet. Tesla charging complex with lounge (it's fancy) is next door. Felt safe walking the dog. Would stay here again if needed.

Older property kinda of noisy from highway and some car alarms and AC compressors. Front desk abrupt service not exactly happy. Generally ok but nothing more. At least the roommate was reasonable and the rooms were clean.

I keep hoping it will get better but, it doesn't. There are few lodging locations in Kettleman City. The BW lobby always smells like nasty cleaner. The outdoor hallways even smell bad. Amber is great at the front desk but the grounds need cleaning badly... Even the paint job is not helping - whoever designed that color scheme ought to rethink their career choice. The interiors are old and outdated. I just won't be able to stay there again...

Many upgrades since last visit. wonderful staff, especially front desk and the lady that takes care of the breakfast area. got scammed by a 3rd party website that highjacked my reservation and added a huge markup but hotel helped me get that cleared up...be careful to not use site called "hotel reservations".

We decided to take a leisurely pace from LAX to Napa and since we had stayed at this property before, we booked a one night stay. We were up graded to a suite. The room was large with a renovated bathroom and there was a jacuzzi in the corner of our room. The king bed was comfortable and there was a large flat screen tv. In the morning we ate in the breakfast room. There were 3 other elderly couples. There was a coffee and juice station, a waffle maker, packaged pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit and in the hot food station, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and bacon. There were pkgs of oatmeal and hot chocolate also.

The hotel exterior looked a bit bleak and off-putting, as they are in the middle of a renovation, but the interior was just fine. Our room was lovely, fully equipped, with fridge and microwave, and very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff, too. We were given free bottled water (Kettleman City tap water is undrinkable), a most welcome amenity. The location is convenient, a good stop on the long I-5 haul. We'll stay there again!

V convenient location and have stopped here a bunch of times. Usually take a suite which is v spacious. This time got an ordinary room downstairs which unfortunately had around 30 flies buzzing around the clean room. Complained and offered room next to breakfast! No thank you! Complained and got upstairs room which was fine until 2am when next door arrived and we could hear all their antics

Staff was very friendly and helpful on check in. Room was good, air conditioner was a little noisy. Good choices for breakfast. Building is currently being remodeled, so a little disrupted outdoors. Would definitely stay again.

On the way from Brtitish Columbia, Canada to palm Springs, we always stay in BW Kettleman City. The right location for us and it is a high standard place. On the way back (in about 6 weeks) we will stay there again (as usual every year).

If it doesn't bother you to be just feet away from a large Tesla charging station and see an ominous hill behind the room then this could be the place for you. Bed was ok, rooms recently re done. Would return only in a pinch.

Friendly professional staff, excellent accommodations, easy access from freeway yet double pane windows and location made the rooms very quiet, and they were spotless, super clean, well stocked, with comfortable beds, and lots of amenities. I love that the bathroom had a tub as well as a shower. It seems more hotels are getting away from the tubs, but after a long grueling day on the road a hot bath was the perfect way to soak away all the tension.

miles and miles of bald desert/almond orchards/tomato fields/...then this hotel! Not new or fancy but truly an oasis. Super friendly and welcoming staff. Good breakfast with a cheery helper. Room is updated, very clean and comfy chair, bed and bath. Bravo Farm restaurant has great TexMex and cool things for kids to do and an amazing store with cheese, toys, jewelry, books and ice cream. Stay here - not Colinga or Lebec!!

Staff was very good. Rooms were clean. Breakfast quality coul be improved, but overall I would stay there again. The pool area was very nice with new outdoor furniture. Would reccomend this as a good place on I 5 to stay.

This is a value waypoint Hotel for Paso, LA or SF. Beds are super comfy and reception nice with added breakfast in the morning for quick start to your final destination. There is a nearby stripmall, Tesla charge statio,n and plenty of fast food on this I5 intersection.

The Best Western in Kettleman City just off Highway 5 was comfortable, accommodating, and convenient--it worked for us for a couple of nights. Centrally located, within walking distance of Starbucks, In-and-Out, Tesla recharge station--what more do you need?

This particular Best Western has been far better than the other BW attended in California. The place improved in fixing the hotel by repainting, changed carpeting, and nice decor and amenities. The room was spacious for 4 people and the price was decent for senior citizens as well as other discounts. I would have given 5 stars if the breakfast offered more variety of foods.

Got a late start on our road trip so we looked for nearby hotels using the phone. We picked Best Western and it had everything we hoped for including a fridge in the room. Girls wanted to use the pool, but the water was dirty. There were several restaurants to walk to and an interesting roadside pioneer store/site. We were surprised to find they had breakfast in the morning and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Too bad we didn't have steaks or burgers because we noticed a nice area to BBQ with benches. We are going to stay here again!

Our family stayed in different Best Westerns as we headed up the coast of California. Each night the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Staying more than a week on the road and seeing the beauty that California has, Best Western made it easy and our family enjoyed the trip tremendously.

Me and my family stayed here 6 years ago and it was AWESOME, we always talked about how cute the place was and how nice the staff and breakfast was!!! Things have changed 1000% 1 month ago we attempted to stay here and it was a complete DISASTER. We ordered food from Denny's after check in and as we were looking for the room we were told to shut up or leave basically because our van's alarm was beeping and didn't turn off in time. When we found the room it stunk and wasn't vacuumed properly, but the beds looked fine.

This Best Western where my dog and I stayed-- complete with pool has spacious clean rooms with frig on a cul-de-sac, with a huge Tesla charging station on one side and truck/trailer/u-haul parking space in the vacant lot on the other-- is close to food, good for a drive to the coast without coastal prices and (yay!) dog-friendly! Fabulous free breakfast layout!

Great stay. Centrally located for everything we needed. Room was clean. Property was quiet and clean. Staff was great! The maids were a little noisey to early since check it was 11 but over all everything was great.

Great property! Updated rooms -loved the new woodgrain tile in entryway. Beds were among the most comfortable on our road trip (stayed at lots of BW's). Nothing to do in Kettleman City, just an overnight stop . Great T.V, with lots of channels. Was so happy to find 2 complimentary bottles of water in the fridge...it was 102 when we arrived!

Generally I make the drive between the Bay Area and LA in a single day, but once in a while I need to break it up. I've tried most of the budget motels near the halfway point. The all correspond to the old saying "you get what you pay for." If the room rate in this area is fifty bucks or less, you can expect unsanitary accommodations and fellow guests who look like they might be manufacturing meth in their rooms. So this trip I decided to splurge and move up to the next level. Smart decision. This Best Western is perfectly situated halfway between SF and LA. True the rates are roughly double what you'll pay at a budget property but it's worth it. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The rooms aren't just clean- they are spotless, and the furnishings appear brand new. Even though the building sits alongside the freeway, with the fan on there was never a hint of noise. The breakfast was one of the best I've had at a motel of this type. Plenty of choices including a number of healthy options. This is a great hotel. The staff was super nice, the rooms were very clean and up to date, and the beds were VERY comfortable. If you need to stop for the night on a road trip, this is the place to go!

Heading south on Interstate 5 late at night, Best Western Kettleman city was just what we needed and more. The room was quite, the pool provided exercise, and the breakfast was especially good for a Best Western. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Business travel while on the way to Los Angels California. I knew that Best Western had clean and comfortable beds. Even the TV controller was properly cleaned. The shower products were awesome. Towels were extra fluffy.

We arrived at 1am and the front desk guy was great at getting us into a room that met our needs. He even allowed us to park our little uhaul trailer outside our room instead of having to park in the back lot. He even gave us a great deal, better than online. The bathroom was nice with a huge tile shower and the room was exactly what these weary travelers needed. We missed breakfast so can't speak for that but everything else was great.

this hotel is very clean and odor free. everyone was extremely friendly and took care of our special request. there isn't much to do in kettleman city but this would be a great place to stay for a break in your long travel on highway 5.

Our truck broke down and "Mercedes" was very helpful and sympathetic to the situation. Room was better than expected for being out in the middle of nowhere. Being the area is more of a truck stop, this hotel did not have that feel.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Good location right off the freeway and there are several fast food options. Front staff were friendly and accommodating. I didn't have the breakfast, and express checkout worked perfectly. I'd stay here again

I stayed here because of the proximity to the Tesla charging station. The hotel looks great. Very clean. Quality hotel. Great customer service excellent value. The breakfast had lots of options, healthy and delicious.

I booked a 2 queen bed pet friendly room a week before my stay on Tuesday Feb 26 2019 and was sent an email listing my reservation and total cost, 24 hours before arriving I called and confirmed the reservation and was sent another email with the same information and price. When I arrived on Feb. 26th for my stay they had me in a King non pet friendly room, after a lot of back and forth they found me a 2 queen bed room but told me it would be $10.00 extra for our dog, I don't mind paying the $10.00 dollars but when I told them I had booked the pet friendly room and had a email confirmation on room and price the just keep saying they were sorry that's the way it is. I am a Best Western loyalty club member and stay there when ever we travel. I just don't think I would stay at this hotel again

Usually Best Western Suites overs more than this facility. It was clean and good for an overnighter. I probably would not choose this motel for longer stays. The best part was breakfast - lots of healthy choices and it had a breakfast room for guests.

Stopped here for the night on the way to Disneyland. Decent place, fairly clean and nice breakfast. Would stay here again if needed.The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast area were all pleasant and friendly.

As a loyal Best Western patron staying at perhaps 15 to 20 different Best Western's in the States and overseas annually, Kettleman City Best Western won my award for the lousiest one out of all my stays. Wi-fi necessitated a 'phone call' to the internet provider to get it functioning, not just once but 'every time' after letting the laptop sit for more than 9 minutes so they could reboot the signal. The hotel itself had no ability to do this since there's no maintenance person on the property. It also required the password to be put in a browser window, that in itself is fine, but that's not 'typical' and the front desk should inform guests of this since 99% of hotel passwords go in the pop-up box. So bottom line, wi-fi's pretty draconian something akin to the old days of dial-up via the phone line. Lastly many rooms have the old double door to the adjacent room so if, say. a family was staying they could go to and fro from those rooms. The issue is 'listening' to the guests in that adjacent room, so clear and loud one understands their words. Makes for a poor night's sleep!

Great customer care, clean rooms, well decorated. Large tv screen with Direct TV and a great breakfast of biscuits and gravy with eggs, sausage. Great coffee juice. You also have the choice of cold or hot cereal with fresh fruit.

Stop on our way along I5 traveling through California. Late night check in. Front desk clerk appeared annoyed someone was coming in. I barely could hear her from behind the counter and she didn't respond when I told her. never stood up to welcome or ensure I had the information needed. Rooms were clean, appeared to be partially redecorated. Bed and bath new, but the rest of the furniture and lighting was old No modern outlet capability to charge cell phones easily. Breakfast provided the basics. Easy on/off the freeway and available resources nearby.

EASY Check-in: -Very friendly accommodating front desk staff, Ana and Raquell (I was allowed a late 1pm checkout—no extra charge and was given a great price due to calling direct to motel). Both front desk attendants had great customer service experience. -Room very Clean, AC/Heat filters WERE CLEAN (very surprising—usually unseen = uncleaned). Nicely styled with tile at door way (carpet is 10 ft. into room—keeps things clean, allows for shoes to be OFF ASAP), PROS: This venue has ALL that I require: -Shower with Tub -Bed- firm but quite comfy -WIFI- high speed- I had no problems. -M/W and great mini-frig with large separate freezer compartment. -Non-smoking -ice machine was near by -Hot continental Breakfast— make your own waffles, PLUS eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy—very good. -TV—DISH TV, VERY easy to use—lots of channels—easy to function & understand. -pen/paper was by phone -easy access to ONLY two electrical outlet plugs at desk -suitcase stand—already set up, ready to easily use. -coffee/tea in room—quickly/easily made. CONS: -They need plugs on both lamp bases on bedside stands as that is now standard. -POOR noise dampening from outside with doors closing and VERY noisy upstairs (due to clomping and creaking from my upstairs neighbor—I was on first floor— -No noise from freeway—All NOISE is all due to inconsiderate upstairs/outside patrons. -So ASK for second floor and clomp all you want, you will not hear the person below…BUT THEY WILL HEAR YOU…And your every movement. -Solution: Ask for Second Floor OR TRAVEL with foam ear plugs so you can deal with this easily (I always travel with them due to this very reason).

I was happy to see the hotel under remodel. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was as expected. I especially like the stay on fan feature, the white noise was nice. Most units turn on and off like a jet engine starting and stopping and run inconsistently. This was an added surprised that helped me get a good night rest after driving from Oregon for more than 10 hours.Its close enough to LA to avoid weekday traffic and arrive in San Diego ahead of traffic.I will stay here again.

Was driving to LA from the Bay Area and stopped half way for an overnight stay to break the journey. The hotel is clean and everything is functional. There is a king size bed and table and a chair by the corner. The bathroom is newly remodeled. There is ample parking for guests and even one charger for EVs. The Tesla superchargers are within walking distance. The staff is friendly but wish they would smile more. The water is hard water and doesn't smell good (even for rinsing your mouth). They had small shampoo and towels are adequate. For a 3 star hotel, this is a really good hotel with all the amenities. I would recommend a stay here.

I have stayed here twice. The first visit a couple years ago led me to book this second time late October. The room was clean and service was fine. I was very disturbed and sad that there were at least 20-30 cats and kittens around the garbage bins and all over the property. It's more than apparent that this problem will only become bigger unless someone steps up and gets them trapped and neutered. Read up on TNR, it's very effective and humane. I hope that the manager/owner will read this and do the right thing. On my return home I decided to drive up the 50 miles to Firebaugh and stay in the Apricot Inn. It was well worth the drive!

room was clean but poorly furnished. parking lot was filthy. roof had hundreds of birds. bed was far too soft. room lacked appropriate décor and had some furnature missing construction going on in room above us. the exterior was very unkept, stayed there last may and experience was somewhat better. we will not stay there again.

The woman who called herself a Customer Service Representative on the evening of Tues 10/16 is by far the worst Hotel Employee I have ever encountered. I requested a simple bill to be faxed over to my new hotel and and she had no idea that she wasn't on hold and had the audacity to curse and belittle my new hotel that I was staying at. It was quite embarrassing for all parties as she was on speaker phone. Needless to say I wont be back.

This basic property is 2-story with doors that open to the outside (no interior corridors). It had plenty of large vehicle parking out back. We were disappointed to find they offered no luggage carts at all. Had to carry our things. Our king room was standard sized, approx. 300 sq ft, with an arm chair, a fridge and small microwave, and an extra-large TV. Offered the basic hot breakfast buffet. Had a small pool. Downside was the AC unit kicked on very loud, we heard every sound of the people above us, and worst of all, the water from the tap tasted horrible – use bottled water to brush your teeth.

After you get past the fly infestation of the room everything else was very goodThe roof had at least 50 or more pigeons on it. I'm sure this is the source of theflies. However the outside property was clean I would not recommend this locationunless you like swatting flies every few minutes.

We were on a stressful road trip and just needed a place to sleep. The ladies at check in were super nice and helpful. Our room was clean. And the bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows - things that are super important to me. It's also a cute little town, worth exploring for a few hours.

On our way from Canada to Palm Springs, CA. Phoned in the morning to secure a reservation. Very nice, quiet room with a king bed, two large screen televisions, large bar fridge, high speed internet. Our suite was immaculate! Friendly, courteous staff. Denny's close by for dinner in the evening. Good breakfast at the hotel in the morning. This is a busy area with truckers and construction workers. If you don't like that atmosphere look elsewhere. We felt quite safe and comfortable here. Also there is a large Tesla charging station next to the Best Western. The rate was reasonable and access good from the I -5. Our thanks to the BW Kettleman City Inn for their hospitality!

We stayed here to break up the drive to Ontario from Oregon. The room is clean and comfortable. The front desk was nice. Nice comfortable bedding. Basic room but clean. Our room was a king room for pets so no carpet. Fine with me. Large tv; small microwave (we don't need so won't use). Doors to rooms are outside (no interior halls/doors). Feels safe here. We got a good price on the room by booking on the Best Western website and are overall pleased with this hotel. Not fancy-just clean and comfortable. I would stay here again

I arrived late without a reservation and was told there were only two rooms left, both suites. No problem for me as I was on the road for 11 hours that day. But, there was major power line construction going on in the area and the power and water would be off for several hours during the night. That said a discount was offered and taken, bottled water was provided and the suggestion to keep the AC on full blast in case it warmed up during the outage was accepted. In spite of all that I passed a quiet night. If the power went off I was never aware of it and the water was back on by early morning.

A great place to stop on I-5 esp. if you want to hit LA not during rush hours. Not much there but hotel is nice, lots of fast food & gas stations. Bravo Farms is a fun place to visit-good food, shopping & a small dog park.

When we first came I thought the place looked nice. The first front desk girl was very nice and helpful. They told us it was the first time they have ever been sold out for the weekend because of the big event we came for in Lemoore .. so I can understand the stress and maybe some other things not being organized right. So we didn't mind and understood those problems. But what really got us was the Cockroaches! We were all hanging out by the pool and saw them all over the pools walls.. not just one .. but multiple small and big. The manager is aware and I hope they can do something. Our bedroom had a huge hole above the shower .. Bugs were coming in our room through the front door. We would have moved but they were sold out and we needed bottom level. They still need a remodel, so maybe next time things will be different.. never got to see the manager in person even on Monday so not sure if it's a management problem.

The service was good and location was a good place to stop when traveling on Hwy5. Across the street is Bravo Farms, which is a fun place to visit. It was not a bad price and I think you get your money's worth.

Way nicer than I remember from the last time we were here. LOVE the big t.v. and overall the room was REALLY nice and very modern. Super clean and quiet. We had stayed here before and I had a somewhat ambivalent opinion but I was VERY impressed with everything this time. breakfast was way better this time as well. My opinion overall of this Hotel now has greatly improved and I wont hesitate to stay again on my travels.

This BW is a convenient stopping place on the way to LA. There are several food choices either walking distance or a short drive away. Starbucks just across the street. Visit the Bravo Farms while you are here. The rooms for the most part are very clean. Some have wear that needs addressing. The bed was comfortable enough for one night. The staff was friendly and check in and out very easy. They do have a breakfast but we did not stay to eat it. We will stay again in our travels.

If your dog tired from the race on I-5 ---its a good spot.Staff was great,breafast was above average.Room was clean (bathtub in 104 was a little iffy).Walls are thin so leave TV on low or a couple of sleeping pills

We stopped in Kettleman City after a long drive from Hillsboro, OR. We arrived about 9:00 pm. Mercedes at the desk was friendly and helpful - so was the other young lady who's name I can't recall. My wife mentioned she was hungry and Mercedes gave her a grab and go bag with some food. The room was clean and quiet (hotel was pretty full) and we got a good nights rest. We had a nice breakfast and were on our way to Borrego Springs, CA. Thank you Best Western!

Very great stay here a great distance from Avenal state prison where I traveled to in ample time. My family and I enjoyed our breakfast each morning. Slept comfortable in our beds and relaxed well in our rooms. We utilized the mini fridge and microwave watched HBO n plan to return many more times to stay while we visit our lives bed one in the near by prison.

We had stayed here before on our way down to Southern California, but this time the place was worse off for wear. Cleanliness has gone by the wayside and we will not return. However, if you need to charge your Tesla, you can do that right next door. There were no Tesla's in the parking lot of the hotel. Keep traveling.

This Best Western has been remodeled. It is pleasant but the walls are thin. It was not noisy during the week but the weekends might differ. The breakfast was laid out very nicely. The food was ok, a little to cool for me. Coffee, juices and yogurt were available. Muffins, bread and bagels were displayed. The butter was in the fridge so you will need to let it sit before attempting to apply it to your toast. Don't drink the water out of the faucet. They give you 2 bottles in your refrigerator.

Had a great nights sleep, Easy off and on I-5. Check out the great and large rare finds store across CA-41 from this hotel. Walkways could probably use a good pressure wash but otherwise not bad at all.

Don't forget any items when you leave because when you call to see if they have it, they won't & they won't provide any remedy. I left my phone charger & it cost me $70. To replace so the savings I got staying there was lost.

The bed was extremely comfortable. The hot breakfast offerings were waffles, biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage links, and scrambled eggs... hot and delicious. The reception staff and breakfast staff were very friendly and accommodating. We did not have occasion to encounter the housekeeping staff. The rooms were very well-kept and welcoming.

You know you're going to need a hotel sooner or later. Do not bother with the little guys. This was literally $30-$35 more and worth every dime! If you go through Kettleman City, this hotel is by far the best value for the dollar!!!

Lots of fast food restaurants. Great stop right off the freeway. Starbucks very near. Can charge your Tesla next to Best Western Hotel. Need a nicer restaurant to have a glass of wine after driving 7 hours.

Great location for long distance travel on i5. We appreciated the clean and comfortable pet friendly room and pleasant staff. Good value for the nightly rate. They did run out of main dishes in the breakfast when we arrived and we waited about 15 minutes for replenishment, so it would be helpful to have more food ready in advance.

I would have rated this very good but parking when you are pulling a RV is not very good. I asked one of the ladies cleaning a suite how to get to our room and she iniatially looked like she wanted to do me bodily harm for speaking to her.

Nice, clean, comfy! I would definitely stay hete again if I came through this part of california. The beds were very comfortable and we had great cable channels. The kids enjoyed the stay. Breakfast in the morning was yummy.

My husband and I were extremely happy with this Hotel. Check in was quick and smooth, our room was very clean and tidy. The bed was so comfortable which is very important to us. You have to get a good night's sleep, especially when on the road. I usually wake up multiple times a night, but I was out and so was my husband. We woke feeling refreshed and ready to drive. My husband is a HVAC and Refridgeration tech. So the first thing he check was the filter in our air conditioning unit. We could not believe how clean it was, the filter was pristine. Their attention to detail was above and beyond. I could not hear any other person from other rooms and the staff were all very friendly. Their continental breakfast was awesome! Real eggs, sausage, fried potatoes, Biscuits and gravy, juices, coffee, yogurts, muffins, etc.... We slept great and had full stomachs when we left. I would deffinetly stay there again and will be recommending them to any family or friends that may be traveling through there ..oh and they have Bravoland which is a must see!!° You have to go to their souvenir shop, you wont be disappointed.

The Suite was very large and free of perfume deodorizers. High ceilings and felt like I was in a studio apartment. Jacuzzi tub. Double sinks. Drive and microwave. Clean! Great location beside Bravo Farms. You can't go wrong with a stay here.

Quick and easy stay on our way up to SF From SD. Suite was clean and plenty big enough for a family of five. Arrived late at night and friendly staff had my room ready with keys in a matter of minutes.

We stayed overnight at the Best Western Kettleman. We have a plug in hybrid car and the hotel desk clerk told us that there is a charging station at the hotel. It was right outside our room. We walked across the road to a fantastic gift show and restaurant. Overall, our stay was quite enjoyable.

The folks who operate this property are very friendly and helpful. But as Best Western properties go, this facility was only "adequate." Great find in the middle of a stretch of highway where there are not a lot of accommodations! So thankful to find this place. Moderate prices, really nice rooms, safe parking, and breakfast! The night manager was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We were really tired, and this was a great stopping point. DO NOT let the location/exterior fool you. We were pleasantly surprised!

When we arrived the room wasn't ready so the staff person gave us a free upgrade to a suite. Great customer service. When I called about a noise problem in the next room, it was immediately addressed.

After a long drive it was good to know we were going to be staying in a quality hotel and get a good nice sleep. A lot of construction is going on around the hotel but it did not impact our stay. We will be staying there again.

Clean Safe place to stay on trip north or south on HWY 5. Remember to book a reservation at this hotel, it fills up fast with many construction crews almost every night. Great halfway point to stop on trip to and from LA and SF/Sacramento areas.

I travel several times a year from OR to AZ to visit my daughter and her family. I usually fly but when I have things to take that are too big for a carry-on, etc., then I have to drive. I've stayed at quite a few hotels on this corridor, but this hotel is my new favorite! No, it isn't a Hilton resort... but it's sparkling clean (and I'm a germaphobe!), the staff are friendly and welcoming, it's close to everything, and the breakfast is actually Good! There is nothing around here and it is a good midway stopping point between LA & SF. We showed up with out two kids asleep at midnight. We found our room soiled. The other room they had was a double bed. When they went for a roll away, they were out. The clerk working there did a great job and found us a room with 2 beds. We may have ended up in a smoking room and when he left I found a silverfish bug in the bathroom. I killed the silverfish and said nothing to my family. For better and for worse it is right next to the highway. We thought the breakfast was very weak and the eggs terrible. Again, the employee did a fine job but next time we will probably stay elsewhere.

Kettleman City is a good stop for me when I am traveling this route. the hotel is a little confusing to actually get to as it is off the main road and there is some industrial places around it that aren't too nice looking. However, the hotel is good and had everything I need, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and pretty decent breakfast. . Bravo Farms is within walking distance and a very interesting place to see. They have Tex Mex BBQ, ice cream shop, wine shop, lots and lots of great gifts and amazing antiques. They even have a little cheese tasting area and some really good meats and cheeses. This place is always a treat to visit. You must check out the slab of a tree displayed in the store that is older than Jesus Christ.

For a very basic room the cost is $114... It must be this high because of the location. Not bad for a basic room. It is clean, however the Internet through the hotel has not worked for me. Not much here in the area to speak about... Truck stop hotel...

We had been at Disneyland all day but needed to be back to San Fran the next afternoon. So we picked this as a mid point. Checked in at almost 2am. The staff was awesome. They were ready and waiting to help. Other places that late I've had to ring a bell and wait sometimes even outside because the lobby is closed. We were checked in less than 5 minutes. Woke up breakfast was good and the eating area was air conditioned. Very nice easy stay!

We stopped here on the way to San Francisco. The beds are comfortable, the room was clean, the shower is great, it was quiet, the staff was very friendly. They even provided a rollaway bed for my 3rd child. Better than expected continental breakfast in a nice room. And they put on the air conditioner before we arrived. Nice touch. Jacuzzi was not operational, but it's the summer. I'm only giving four stars because it was a bit expensive, at $120 a night.

This is a remote location on the I-5 and we stopped for an overnight of rest on a long road trip. The rooms have been redone, very clean and a super comfortable bed, The staff could not have been friendlier and we felt very welcome. The room was well furnished and clean.

If there's no other place to sleep while you are on the road, this might be OK for a last resort. We would drive an extra hour not to stay here again. Wouldn't even use the shower since the appearance didn't look clean. Way too expensive for what it is.

We stayed here while driving back from Seattle. We arrived very late, were in our rooms quickly. We were offered late checkout due to our late arrival time, which we did not need as we were heading out early, but it was a nice offer. Good place to put your head down for the night.

This is a great place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable and smelled nice. Breakfast was very good. They have pet friendly rooms that don't smell bad. We would stay there again. The only drawback is the vehicle with trailer parking is in a dirt lot, away from the hotel. You'd have to hike with your belongings to get to the parking. There is NO trailer parking on the hotel premises.

Excellent service!!! Staff was phenomenal. Clean and safe for my kids. Would recommend this to anyone driving by and needed a place to stay. Very friendly as well and quiet throughout my stay. Internet and Breakfast was also good.

The beds are comfortable but the bathroom was not very clean. There were ants crawling on the counter and small fruit flies flying in the bathroom. The breakfast was quite good. The location is convenient to take a break before heading to bay area.

The staff members were very helpful and assisted us in locating attractions. However the hotel is not what I would expect a Best Western to be. The tub was stained, the sink was cracked and the room was not entirely clean. The outside of the hotel was dirty and the pool area did not appear to be clean. The saw was not working (no water at all). The breakfast was comfortable.

It was a fine room for just one night rest stop before going up to Northern California. Clean and comfortable. The pool was small and looked ok, not sure if it looked cleaned enough. It did have a washer in dryer in the 2nd flloor.

Wonderful staff overall. They were very kind and friendly throughout my stay. Check-In and Check-Out was fast and simple. Hospitality was perfect. The facility was clean and quiet as well. The services such as housekeeping was very helpful when I was in need for service. Breakfast in the morning was filling and delicious. The internet was also good. It really helped me get my work done on time. Getting on and off the freeway easily was a plus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone if they are deciding to stay here.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel rooms were...clean, fairly modern, great AC, comfy beds, good wifi. I highly recommend this hotel for travelers who need a safe, comfy, clean place to stop over for the night.

Do not stay here way overpriced rude housekeeping staff who do not understand English no hot water. Construction noise that covers it.. Room was clean but had a lot of wear and tear Not recommended. Product was way below any standard.

This place is a dump. The exterior is absolutely filthy. There were dead cock roaches all around, dirty towels hanging over the railing, dirt and debris in the drained jacuzzi, pigeon droppings all over.

This is a regular stop for us on our way up to the Bay Area to spend time with Kids and Grandkids. Its conveniently off the I-5 Freeway with several meal options and several convenient gas stations. The staff is excellent.

Upon checking in, Mercedes did an excellent job of making sure we were in the room that fit our needs! Upgrade to the spa room for a treat! A great place to stay when traveling on the I 5. And breakfast was included with a large selection of items both hot and cold.

Checked in at 1230 am. Quick check in. Went to breakfast at 930 am. They only had eggs and potatoes, figured they ran out of sausage or bacon. Everything we had for breakfast was great!. Beds are very comfortable. They offered late check out. Great pit stop hotel on the 5.

We needed to break up our drive between northern and southern California.. The bed was good, the room clean, with plenty of hot water. The breakfast is average, yet provides a nourishing start to the day. The staff at the front desk are helpful, pleasant and courteous.

Very nice place to stay between Northern and Southern California. Staff is nice and the breakfast is a nice way to start the morning. The remodel has definitely made it nicer, especially the new beds.

This hotel desperately needs a good cleaning and updating. The facilities is falling apart and the rooms are a mess. Our bathroom had large black hairs in it and had not been cleaned. Despite seeing a warning sign about bugs I was surprised to count 8 dead cockroaches between the exit and our room. Gross!!

We were on our way home from beach on 4th of July and decided to stop as we were tired. Called this hotel from the road for a handicapped room. The desk clerk was very helpful and we were able to book the handicapped suite which was excellent. Usually on such short notice it is difficult. Clean nice rooms.

Kettleman City is just a small town / truck stop adjacent to the I5 Interstate. This Best Western does not deserve the word "Best" in its name despite looking to be a comparatively recent building. The guest laundry consisted of a very old washing machine and the stair wells to the upstairs rooms were filthy - cigarette ends and cobwebs everywhere. The hotel's hot breakfast was ok but there were no decent restaurants for dinner within walking distance.

150 dollars a night in a town off I-5 is already asking for trouble but if the hotel can live up to the price, fine. This hotel, however cannot. We had issues with the bathroom where their was water all over the floor and soaked through tiles. Not a good first impression and with 2 tired kids not something we wanted to deal with. The staff just ended up walking around our bathroom with a couple of towels and a small apology.

The property is very clean. The rooms are nice and also very clean. The staff is very helpful. They were nice and check in and out was quick. They went out of their way to accommodate requests. It was a great experience. Close to Bravo Farms too. So we walked over there and food was great.

Hotel was average. Clerk at check in spoke so fast couldn't be understand her. Room smelled of smoke even though it was non smoking. We changed rooms then the AC wasn't working in living room area so I had to get a second room for kids. Rates I think were too expensive for all the problems we had. Thank goodness it was only one night

We had to stay here since it was a midpoint in our trip home. It was not a very clean hotel-dead bug in drawer, rancid lotion, filthy pool, dirty breakfast room. The beds were ok and we were able to sleep. The tv worked and the internet worked. The breakfast was terrible-cold oatmeal, waffle maker caked with dry waffle, workers outside chatting, room dirty.

Everything was just as you would want. Easy check in/check out. Clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Quiet during the evening time and peaceful during the night. Breakfast hours were longer than most motels and offered more items than one could eat. Fresh fruits were delicious.

Friendly Staff - Good Breakfast-- New Mattresses, but for the average size Person they might be a little to firm on ones back. Good luck :) Haven't tried out the pool just yet, but Summer is here so we will see what happens on the next Trip :). Closest Town to be able to do some thing is Coalinga or the Small Town of Avenal. There are Various Eateries close to the Inn so one won't go Hungry !

Great service, rooms, comfortable beds & roomy refrigerator. They take pets also which is always nice for us traveling with our dog. They upgraded the mattresses this year, making the beds so comfy with a variety of pillow densities. We travel with food, so love the larger refrigerator.

Perfect stopover hotel along the 5. Restaurants within easy walking distance. Clean, great bed with both hard and soft pillows. refrigerator and microwave. Hot breakfast included was great with a variety of foods including fresh fruit. Ask for a quiet room, as there are construction workers staying there temporarily. Staff was very gracious.

Pool closed, because of growth Alge and spa closed due to ? Bird poop all over including on cars and trucks in parking area. they took no steps to clear the problems up, Maintance personal was to busy talking to the young ladies when they were trying to work. When we checked out on monday at 9:15 am the mananger was not in let to talk to about the problems, as far as staying at another Best Western hotel this trip has been clear that what they advertise in the Trip advisor is not to be taken as truth.

I had to make a quick trip to San Francisco and left San Diego at 2:00 so I needed a place to stay. I saw there was a Best Western at Kettleman City and made a reservation. It was good value and would recommend it. I would also stay here again if I have to make such a trip. I appreciate that there were two bottles of water in the refrigerator because the water from the faucet did have a strange taste. It was a good value and I appreciated it along Interstate 5.

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip; we've stayed here before and really liked the hotel. This time the air conditioner was so noisy we could hardly sleep; also, there was approximately 20 pigeons on the roof and one of them laid an egg which rolled down onto the hood of our new car. We noticed several cars in the lot also had eggs smashed on them. I suggested to the staff they put netting all around the hotel to catch the eggs as they fall. The associate at the front desk said they're considering various options.

I've stayed here twice now, as I travel from the North to the South in California on the I-5. I love Bravo Farms for the tex mex food, and all the little shops to browse. this is just a great place to stop after a day of driving. The hotel is within walking distance of several eating choices.

The parking lot is dirty from pigeons. The birds were nesting on the roof, so some eggs rolled off onto cars in the parking lot. The service people were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great.

We booked this BW on our trip back home. We have never stayed here before or even been to Kettleman City before. There are not many hotel options to chose from but we felt that BW would be our best bet for comfort My husband needs to unwind in a jacuzzi tub due to his illness. The Jacuzzi room tub is fairly small and it needs some rails to help older people feel safe about getting in and out. The tub was a bit small and definitely not mnade for two people to enjoy. However the room and entire suite was clean and quiet as it is tucked away from other rooms. It did give us a good night of rest -- the food places are to be desired. We went to Bravo Farms to eat and it was a complete and total disappointment. The food is not well prepared, not fresh, and way too much money for the quality of the meals. It is much like fast food and Self serve was also a turn off. The Bravo Farms store however --was very interesting. Go to the store and wander around and look at all the interesting items but try to eat somewhere else.

Great customer service. Enjoyed the trip and everyone in the Hotwl is kind and friendly. We stay here all the time because we work in the Kettleman oilfields and this is the only hotel in town but being the only hotel they are 1st class and high quality. We love the Best Western!!

A very nice, updated, pet friendly motel. Great new beds and the rooms are clean and tidy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast is better than most, with scrambled eggs, waffles, oatmeal and several varieties of cereal and yogurt.

Picked this spot due to positive TripAdvisor reviews and am grateful. It is clean and safe with comfortable beds. Mercedes at check-in helped us find a room with parking right in front as it was late and we we wanted to unload the car easily. Breakfast in the morning was basic but did the job...eggs and fruit in addition to cereal and waffles. Appreciated the free water in the mini fridge. Great overall experience. Perfect spot when traveling the 5 -right off the FWY.

My wife and I are travelling from SF to Miami, taking about 5-6 days in the process. Our first stop was in Kettleman City. We had not stayed in Best Western for years, and were initially apprehensive because our last stay in a BW many years ago was not satisfactory. We were pleasantly surprised by the room setup, amenities and especially its cleanliness. The exterior of this facility needs some improvement though. As we continue our trip, we will look for BW hotels for our evening rest stops.

While room was good and the staff was helpful, the exterior walkways, pool, parking lot were filthy and need deep cleaning and upkeep. Recent remodeling has improved the rooms. The breakfasr was above average.

When made reservation they never said hot tub was out of service and when we got there the pool was DISGUSTING. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months! Urine was in the toilet when we arrived to our room and there was so much rust in the shower we thought it was blood. Breakfast room was missing half the chairs so most people were standing to eat. Dog in the next room barked for hours making it impossible to get my 17 month to sleep. Overall bad experience.

We were traveling from Salem Oregon to Palm Springs, and had picked Kettleman City as a good stopping point. The Best Western Kettleman City was a very well kept, clean and comfortable hotel. Staff was very polite and attentive, and especially the person taking care of the breakfast room - she was very quick and efficient to replace items and clean tables. The bed was quite comfortable, and we didn't hear any road noise from our room even though the freeway is close by. Hotel breakfast was satisfactory with hot food items and the normal assortment of muffins, bagels, yogurt, etc. The coffee was really good. We would definitely stay here again!

We usually break out trips to the Bay area at Kettleman City. The property is conveniently located near the Freeway and there are multiple dining choices within walking distance. Despite proximity to the Freeway, road noise has ever been an issue. Complementary breakfast is pretty basic, but I'm not a big breakfast person so it meets my needs. Staff is very attentive and helpful.

My experience at this hotel I repeatedly go to in a weekly basis is satisfactory the rooms are clean warm breakfast like the facility been going here for a couple of years the staff is very nice always a smile on their faces

Arrived late (around midnight) to find that our reserved room with two queen beds was gone. Hotel moved us to a one-bed-plus-sleeper-couch "suite" that reeked of cigarette smoke; no way we could sleep there. The only option left was a one-bed regular room for the four of us. One daughter slept on a chair while three of us piled on the bed. I will never stay here again.

The room met all my needs for a clean and quiet rest in a great bed. I haven't stayed in any other hotel in Kettleman City and don't see any need to look further. They may have been short of staff that holiday evening.

Working out of town for the week. This was my home away from home. 1 the staff were friendly and courteous and welcoming.2 check in was fast.3 the room was clean coffee maker, microwave, mini refrigerator.4 the bed was nice and comfortable. 5 rv parking. All in all good place to stop and rest for the night.. they are also in the process of remodeling all of the.. there is also a few places to eat at and gas stations for any other amenities you might need for your travels.

We pulled in real late and had to park our travel trailer out back a way on gravel. No parking on the streets. Regular parking lot was pretty tight They were remodeling and had a sign about the noisy pigeons stepping about on the roof. Must have big feet! The attedant hag boxes of eggs she was personally cooking for breakfast, liked that. Better than some egg like mixture some places have. Breakfast was decent for this level of motel

Stayed here on Fri 10/21/16 only because EVERY hotel in Bakersfield was booked up due to a major event in town (car show i think). We stay at BW fairly regularly in several cities in California and this was by far the worst BW experience ever. Gal at front desk said owner stops by now & then as he owns "about 8 or 10 other hotels." Flies everywhere, dirty facility, needs repairs, the list goes on & on and I'm simply not taking the effort to write a full review since the hotel does not take the effort to properly maintain the facility.

This establishment was way below the usual Best Western standards. The room was very clean and neat bu that is the most I can say about it. They were at a disadvantage however in that their computer system was down and this made the work of the clerks very difficult.

The hotel sits close to a couple of restaurants which are walking distance, but the area is basically a truck stop. It is a depressed area with some businesses closed down. The hotel was extremely clean but my room was plagued by flies. Housekeeping wasn't finished cleaning when I checked in. Didn't mind waiting, just minded having to carry my bags back to my car.

They had a no vacancy sign out but trip advisor & my IHG said they hadvrooms for $117. The clerk was rude & hateful. She told me the only waybto get the room at that rate would be to book online. So as i stood there i started to do just that. It irritated her further so i hear, fine i will give you that rate. She then books us into room 121. Went there & goodness me someone is already in this nasty dank corner & they fully open the door to us..not good.. we go to get another room & she expects us to wait while she rents out 3 more rooms at a hotel where there were no vacancies. The next room 102 was filled with flies & black mold in rhe shower.

We stayed here before and have always booked directly thru BW but because of an incentive by trip advisor (which ended up being bogus with hidden conditions) we booked thru them. This hotel is tired and OVERPRICED. We booked a king pet friendly room but ended up with an accessible/handicap room. We left our small dog in the car all night. The room was "okay" but stained toilet bowl, some debris on bathroom floor and and located directly under stair case late arrivals kept us awake and early arrivals/workers woke us up super early made it pretty undesirable. One of us got a bad bite on the face. Spider? The tv screen was on a weird mode where there was a narrow view of the screen. Someone from the front desk came and fixed it but it just defaulted back. The AC rattled loudly when the fan came on. The breakfast used to be very good for a hotel complimentary breakfast but it has gone downhill. The coffee supply, juice and waffles were acceptable but there was no breakfast meat, no fresh fruit except for a handful of crab apple size apples, liimited bread selection, empty oatmeal crockpot, a small scoop of dried out potatoes and scrambled eggs. We sat there a half hr but nothing new got put out. We ate at 7:30 so it wasn't at the end of the breakfast. This hotel doesn't have much in amenities except a bed to catch a quick sleep after driving 13 hours. After paying nearly $140 & being disappointed we won't be back.

Good stop along that long stretch on I-5. Will take pets for a $20 fee. I have stayed 3 times and found rooms clean and comfortable. The pool leaves much to be desired and the continental breakfast is nothing to brag about but overall decent place to stay.

My family and I stopped off here for the night, was a last minute decision...I'm glad we did! I'm a Hilton Honors member, so I didn't stay outside of Hilton, but because there where no Hilton family hotels near by, we stayed at this Best Western. We were very impressed, very clean, price was reasonable and the room was very large and very clean! The overall property was outstanding and the service at 3am in the morning was great...I highly recommend this Best Western to anyone traveling North on I-5 past Bakersfield! It was well worth the stop!

I was exhausted driving at night with my husband from L.A to Seattle and we needed a place to stop. We wanted something that wouldn't feel "motel like" which is almost impossible in these areas where all you see are truck stops. I came across this hotel and was extremely impressed! the service was friendly and accommodating, they gave me a AAA discount and my room was perfect. Very nice, well, cleaned and I felt safe. Great recommendation and they served breakfast! thank you for giving me a good place to rest my head.

We were hot & tired from traveling all day so this motel was a welcome respite. The rooms are great & the staff is friendly & helpful. The pool is always clean & refreshing. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This is a convenient hotel to stop at. The room was clean abs comfy beds. Water smells and tastes awful. A couple plumbing issues. Shower an hot, cold,hot, cold. There was a leak in the bathroom wall behind the toilet which came from next door. They had to snake that toilet in the other room. The pool area is dirty. Pigeon feathers and crap all over. The jacuzzi looks gross. Pigeons line the rooftops and nest under the solar panels. Apparently management is aware but those birds have been there for years. Originally in an empty building with broken windows and eventually "graduating" into the hotel. The

This Best Western has horrible service. the people that work there do not smile, poor standards. Gave me some else room.The water has a chemical odor smells like gasoline / tar. I will NEVER return to that Inn again. I you have children, not a good place spend the night, several drunk people, a huge amount of industrial trucks.

I completely understand that after long travels we want to be greeted with smile and warmth not like this. Love this location- exactly half way between LA and San Francisco. We have stayed here many times and this time was the best. Kudos to housekeeping and also maintenance. The place is not fancy - but - Everything was clean (including the shower curtain!) and nicely maintained. Shower worked well. Towels were new- thick and fluffy and completely odor free. Bed was amazing- firm mattress, crisp, high quality sheets, and good pillows - also odor-free. Front desk staff was professional and quickly managed several guests efficiently. Dana was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was neat & tidy, and the surfaces were clean- hearty selections and the coffee was fresh. I do wish the in-room air conditioning unit was quieter. We will stay here again.

Hard bed, small pillows, terrible area, dirty appearance, grounds person blew down parking lot with ir blower and got dust / dirt on my car, non smoking room smelled like smoke. Fair cont breakfast - we not be returning to this hotel ever again.

Kettleman City is nothing more than place to stay for one night. A few hotels and gas stations...It is an older property in serious need of remodeling..cracked tiles in bathroom, cracked walkways, bird droppings and feathers all over...the evening receptionist was cold and unfriendly...decent breakfast, typical foods, nothing special. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave was appreciated. The price was reasonable..overall not a bad property, but it does need better upkeep.

Room spacious , looks like they just painted & updated tile in bathroom... Huge stain on carpet, bathtub looks pretty old with stains ...room clean & bed comfortable , breakfast not as large as some BW but good!

Good basic motel . Clean,all bathroom amenities, good satellite tv,microwave and fridge. Free breakfast selection is very good . Book it online to save $$. My price without reservation was 130. 109 with AAA.

Pigeon dropping everywhere outside. No attempt made to keep birds away. Terrible breakfast and uncomfortable, small square pillows. I regret my decision to stay here. We have stayed at many Best Western properties in the past. This is, by far, the worst ever.

The motel was very basic with thrift shop décor. Did not make a very good first impression. Gnats were a nuisance & earwigs were present. An exterminator needs to be contracted by the owner of this property.

It was fine - clean enough, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was good. It's right off the highway and there is not much else around! The breakfast room was large and sunny and the selection was average for a free hotel breakfast. We did not use the pool, but it was in the middle of the parking lot and looked a bit tired! I only gave it 3 stars because it is truly just average. Not horrible at all, but nothing special either. Just a place to spend the night.

Driving through to Disneyland, we decided to stop for the night. Front desk lady was very nice. Checked in quickly. Room very clean and just the right size. Bathroom clean and well stocked for 4 people. Breakfast was excellent, just like going to a restaurant. Only complaint - birds in pool area, but we weren't planning on using it anyway.

Does not appear to be too many choices in area. Unfortunately this BW does not meet my impressions of standards for BW. Unfortunately birds have taken over roof and solar panels, so that there is excrement and feathers all over. For me, pool was useless due to the previous comment. Accounting problems maybe an issue and for us, unfortunately when we went to check in, front desk clerk was trying to satisfy a customer on phone who was having an unresolved credit card problem; so we had to wait 10-15 minutes while mgr. relayed info from other line. As a long time customer service manager; he/she should have called customer back.

Ya cant do much better than this hotel along this stretch of I5. My Mom, my Aunt and I were here for a night on the way to San Diego, and we couldn't complain about much. I jumped on the grenade. a.k.a. slept on the fold out sofa, And the BAR was RIGHT in MY BACK!!! The fold outs could afford to be updated.I know most would say a fold outs gonna be uncomfortable regardless, not so! Ive slept on some of the newer ones and they are not near as bad as the older models. (the bar in the back) That would be one of only two complaints here. Along with a poor breakfast,.I usual only have eggs and juice, so the watery burnt eggs were gross. Other than that it was great! Nice and clean. Two t.v.s so I had my own in the sofa room. VERY quite, despite being RIGHT off the freeway. Far enough away from the stockyards you cant smell anything. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Front desk staff was very friendly and accomodating! Breakfast was great, the coffee was also good, not stale, very fresh and the room was clean,, internet worked great too. The location is right off of the freeway. Very happy with my stay.

Service is Great, Some of the Beds are very hard which makes for a terrible nights sleep :(. Some rooms have more comfortable beds than others so need to ask staff for room recommendations depending on ones body weight ?

The worst BW ever stay The reception was anything put friendly Did not even stand up from his chair To welcome us The room had a bad musty odor The Pillows where small and hard Then we found small bugs or aunts in one of the beds when we went to bed We called the front desk Was told no manager on duty He would call the manager and call back That never happened When we called 1/2 hr later There was no answer on phone When we complained next morning and asked to speak to manager We we told they were not available Best Western should be ashamed To put there stamp on this hotel

We arrived late at night and had our room waiting for us. This place sort of reminds me of a set from a low budget movie... eerie. But if you only need a quick place to sleep for the night, this place is perfect. The man at the front desk was super nice and very welcoming. We traveled with our two kids ages 6 and 12 and they also felt the eerie vibe and they did not want to unpack after they seen a few flies in the room. Had we not stayed for free with our BW Points, we'd probably look elsewhere. It is located in the middle of a tiny town just off the 5 freeway with a variety of places to eat and gas up... That is a big plus!

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. When we checked in at 4:15 pm, we asked for a downstairs room as we were traveling with a pet and my wife and I are in our sixties. We were told that no downstairs rooms were available. After climbing stairs with our dog and suitcases, we opened the door to our second floor room to find it totally in disarray. The maid had not started her cleaning. After speaking to the manager, we were given a room on the ground floor. The room itself was very clean. The bed was a king and very comfortable. The bathroom was large. The toilet, sink, tub, and mirror were all together. We like accomodations where the sink(s) and mirror are in the main room separate from the toilet and tub. The breakfast was fine with scrambled eggs, sausage links, potatoes, cereals, waffles, bagels, very fresh breads, etc. available. All in all an ok stay, but given that we booked three weeks in advance and we are Best Western Club members and that the room cost with taxes and our dog was just over $130, we were disappointed.

We were helping our daughter move from LA to SF and decided to stay here to break up the trip. The room was clean and quiet, better than other Best Westerns we have stayed at recently. The included breakfast was better than many available at discount chains. I'd award three and a half stars if it were an option. The only disappointment was arriving in Kettleman City right as Bravo Farms was closing. It was the only recommended restaurant in town. We were too tired to venture very far so we ate at the Denny's near the hotel.

Spent one night here. The room had been remodeled, was exceptionally clean, and had the bonus of a comfy chair. Since we had a bad experience the night before at a different BW, she asked to see the room first and they willingly gave her a key to go check it out before checking in. The desk staff were friendly and helpful with a good recommendation for dinner. There was parking in front of our room. Once inside our room, it was very quiet despite being just off the freeway. Only complaint we had was the WiFi was slow. For our King room, price including tax $123.74

Clean, quiet, well appointed for highway motel. Two story. Fills up FAST. Along I-5 in the middle of nowhere! A necessary stop but meets all traveler needs. Pet friendly, but in spite of paying a pet fee, we always cover the bed with our own sheet as a common courtesy to others. (Our dog is 11#, short hair, not a big impact). A small area of grass is available, but no pick-up provisions, so bring your own.

Very nice and clean hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Love the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel dispensers in the bathroom - great idea! Right off the freeway and easy to get to. Several gas stations and places to eat within walking distance makes this a great place to stop while traveling.

After a long drive it was nice to get in the jacuzzi (but they do need pull up bars) The room was already cool & very clean. The location for us is great because we have friends & family that live south & east of here that can come visit us. Then we can head on over to Pismo Beach from here.

We were traveling from Northern California to Newport Beach, California. We decided to spend a night on the road. Kettleman has very few motels and this one was the best. It was clean, roomy and suitable for a quick overnight. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were off early the next day so for a short stay, this was just fine.

Bed was hard, shower sucked-no water pressure, pool way to small. Locked out of room while packing up morning of checkout, had to have key card re-programmed three times. Ok if you are very tired and just need to sleep. Would definitely make sure to get a second floor room as floors are very squeaky.

We had stayed at this Best Western before, and had a good experience. This time it wasn't so good. To begin with, we arrived at about 11pm tired from our drive. There was a note in the lobby that the desk clerk would be right back. She returned at about 11:30pm. We were first in line - a couple others came and left (suspect they went across the street to the competitor). The clerk had a broken arm, and had been helping another customer (seemed odd that they didn't have more than one person on duty for this size of a hotel). We checked in and took our luggage to the room - passing a cockroach in the parking lot and later finding one in the room (the next morning, another clerk said they were "water bugs" - but I knew "water bugs" didn't live on land). When we have been repeat customers at other Best Westerns, we were greeted by name and thank you snacks for returning. The clerk had no clue that we had stayed there before. Although we had a good night's rest, next time we may try one of the other hotels in town.

I did not have a reservation. When I first went to the desk, the clerk said the only available room was a suite. I went outside to make a phone call.. When I came back in, she said that a "cancellation came in by email" and a room was available. The room was pricey, but it was nice, clean and the bathroom was very large and updated. If you need a motel in this area, this is a nice, functional one but not particularly beautiful surroundings and expensive.

At best, a serviceable hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed, a bit uncomfortable but OK. Breakfast was quite bland yet edible. If you're traveling and have a need to stay at a clean, safe and average hotel this is the place. This certainly is not the kind of place you would go out of your way for.

We only stayed 1 night, as a family of six people. We had a problem with the lock to our room, and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite for free (yea!). The complimentary breakfast was much better than what we have come to expect from similar hotels. The hotel was nice and clean. The grounds were clean. The staff in the office was friendly, and they worked well. Really, this was just one night, and Kettleman City was not our destination, but while traveling I-5 and not wanting to drive all night, staying at this hotel was a very nice.

I have stayed here a few times. The rooms are clean modern . There are great places to eat around it and Starbucks. The internet is slow there because of the location . If you need high speed internet you wont get it here. everything else is great.

They only have two king bed jaccuzi rooms. #202 and #201. #201 jucuzzi is broken and as far as I can tell it's been broken for months. But yet they still advertise it on their website that it has a jacuzzi tub. The door and the flooring of #202 needs repair. The rates of their standard rooms are up, but the quality is down. It is Summer and hot there, why are the rates higher?

I attempted to check in to this hotel. I had the confirmation I had made online at BW. The clerk at the desk proceeded to tell me I didn't have a reservation. Say what? I showed her my confirmation from BW. She told me she couldn't find anything. So I asked if there were any other rooms? It's not like Kettleman City, CA is huge. She did find me a room at a higher price than my confirmation was for. Since I have a diabetic wife, I decided to take it so I could at least tend to my wife and get her some food. I emailed their management. I finally spoke with Becky Doty who informed me they couldn't find ANY record of me being there. Yet, my CC was charged accordingly. I have been emailing back and forth with BW Corporatate Customer Care now for 2 weeks. I have been told twice by them that a refund has been issued. Perhaps it was issued to my ghost. I have yet since since one penny in my account. So my advise is either avoid BW altogether or continue on about another 20 minutes to Coalinga, CA where you will find other choices probably more suitable!

The check in staff were friendly and helpful.. Reception area clean and attractive. The room was large and well appointed... and the beds were great.. The area around the Motel was well cared for and maintained.. The breakfast was outstanding ...with enough staff to make you feel comfortable Now the BAD.... This place stinks... litterer... 20,000 cows just over the hill , with a breeze coming from there, does nothing for the air quality...but it not overwhelming.. Be brave and try this Best Western... I don't think you will be sorry

Since this hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and you're driving between big cities, they get you on the price...and can probably charge you whatever they want. I got a little discount with my AAA, (triple A) membership. perks of the room ...sure comfy bed, refrigerator, and a clean feel because they probably updated the decor. Internet was free, fast and easy to access. Shower and bathroom had a nice clean feel, unlike some 'road trip' hotels that are gross and grungy. So bite the bullet and pay more if you want a decent room for your stop over.

While working around the area on the Hwy's & Rural Route Bridges I stayed with them for over 2 months. I am a Rewards Member of the highest Status with Best Western due to the Service they give, not the time I spend. I spend over 3 quarters of the year in Hotels around n up and down the Tristate. Seems the places I choose first is Best Western due too amount of facilities, and consistent service. I book up to 10 rooms at a time and never had a issue with employee accommodations. Thank you best Western for the Outstanding Home away from Home. Ps. I CANT SAY THANK YOU ENOUGH to the maintenance staff ! THANK YOU ! While your people are on the hwy working and your are in a temp office, these folks seem to want to help in any way they posibly can ! Thank you Becky and staff ! We had to ask where to go eat. We thought we were going next door but we were advised on something with homemade food as well as directions to get there. We had people who smiled and made you feel comfortable. Everything was clean and the amenities were good.

Hotel is older hotel, with exterior corridors. The room was clean. Pool area was very small. Only one person at check in, so it took a while if someone was in front of you. No elevator, but ask for an upstairs room as we could hear every foot step when we were on the 1st floor. Accommodated our request for 2nd floor easily. Would not recommend for any length of item - fine for one night.

I f you read my other reviews you will see I stay at a lot of Best Westerns. They are pretty consistent with cleanliness, and I appreciate not guessing on places late at night when I decide to stop driving. I have not been let down with that aspect. When I stopped here late at night on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend they only had King Suites left. That was fine, I took it. The room was a nice lay-out. A small sitting are with a pull out couch in the front, bathroom in the middle of the place, and a bedroom at the end with a door that closed (though was translucent, so light entered) with a king size bed. I was travelling with my brother, so he took he sofa and I took the room. I am a light sleep and need dark. Any light from the front automatically shown into the room. The walls were also very thin. We could hear a baby in the next room quite early in the morning. The room itself was clean. The beds weren't upgraded to some of the double pillow tops at some Best Westerns, but I was comfortable, and the amount of pillows provided was great. My brother said he could feel the springs on the pull-out, but really that is a common problem {sigh}. Breakfast was the basic fair, though no meat options. The potatoes and eggs were good though. Then you had waffles, yogurt, pastries/breads, coffee and juice.

There weren't many choices in this town, so with a dependable name like Best Western we felt safe. Had to wait on hotel employee to finish visiting outside to check in, room was clean enough but dark and dated. An ok place to rest for the night but skip the continental breakfast and go for McDonalds or other place.

We stopped here on the way south to San Diego - location is convenient if you just can't push on any further but the hotel was less than ideal. The first room they gave us looked like someone had kicked the door in and it had been given a quick, funky repair job…we asked for another room as it didn't seem secure and made me wonder about security overall at the hotel and in this area. Rooms were fairly dated and nothing special about the place. Basically, if you have to get off the road, it's a bed and will work but otherwise I'd push on for somewhere better down the road.

The hotel is very well located for travelers on I-5. The room was comfortable and clean. We thought the room rate was a bit high, but the room was clean and comfortable.Good restaurant across the street.

A good nights sleep in a smoke free room with a good breakfast in the morning is just what my wife and I needed after a long day driving down highway 5. Best Western offers consistent quality for a clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price. They also have many locations which helps out in making a selection while in transit.

This place was just plain uncomfortable to stay in and try to rest in. The mattress produced pressure points, the air conditioner was alternately noisy so we couldn't sleep through the night, the light by our bed could only be turned off by unscrewing the bulb, and further noise was created by a running toilet. The reception staff wanted an accounting of our problems but offered nothing but that the rooms are going to be renovated.

Great value and a convenient stop on our way from Northern Oregon to Southern California. This worked perfect for us! We would stay here again when traveling this route. The surrounding area offered options for food and Starbucks.

As always, the staff is courteous and handles requests without a hassle. The room is clean, safe, and you aren't bothered by noise. Breakfast is enjoyable. This is the only hotel we use when leaving late in the day from San Jose to LA. We have never been disappointed.

It was late and there weren't a lot of choices off the I-5 so we stopped here and were pleasantly surprised. We got a great rate using our AAA discount. Our room was a King Suite with a separate living room. A very clean suite with 2 TV's, a fridge and microwave. Clean carpeting and a mirrored closet door and good storage drawers. We had a comfortable stay here. This hotel is located right off the freeway and there are several places to eat close by.

Sometimes all you need is a room with a clean bathroom, clean bedroom and clean sheets. We got that here. Traveling through CA on vacation. Spent one night at this Best Western. The mattress on our bed was horrible. Sagged in the center so we kept rolling into the middle. I finally was able to stick an extra pillow in the mid dle of the bed and lodged it under my back to keep me from rolling. And the breakfast was certainly nothing special. But, on the other hand, we had a clean room and clean bathroom. It was we needed late in the night so we could sleep on our travels. This BW served that purpose just fine. At $120 for a room, it was a little overpriced, but maybe this is par for the course in California.

What I loved? The room set up was extremely comfortable. The suite was welcome for our family of five. And it was clean and safe. Hospitality with a genuine smile. What I liked? Linens and towels were okay. Breakfast and coffee was good (not great). What could be better? The hotel couldn't be better for a Best Western in the middle of the valley. But beware!!!! Kettleman exit is not a real town! Its couple restaurants close by 8 or so. The gas prices were elevated a lot! It is a pop up exit teeming with convenience (as long as it's before 8 pm). The real town of Kettleman is a couple miles away.

I travel here on business many times a month and have never had an issue. Becky is always a treat to see behind the desk with her smiling face, great attitude toward guest and great knowledge of the area. This was one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed in. We came in without reservations at 11pm. Got a room right away and was very happy with the room and staff. Breakfast was amazing! Great experience here.

We were just passing through for the evening on our way to northern California. I was traveling with two dogs and a friend who has physical limitations. The staff was very helpful and accommodating arranging a room on the first floor. Breakfast was the typical motel fare. The motel room and the common areas were clean, but the parking lot and edges of the property could use a little attention. It was a fine choic for an overnight stay.

Staff was friendly and check in was quick. Price a little high for a double queen at $160, but it was deemed a suite so likely why. Room was clean. shower was a little tight, they had auto shampoo and soap dispenser mounted mid shower on back wall which limits space for an already small shower area. Has a pool, but its outdoor and not heated. Hot tub was ok, but pretty small, might fit 6 or 8 max. No elevator in the building that had the suites, so humping suitcases up the stairs. Free hot breakfast was best part of stay. Wifi was a little sketchy in suites. Kicked out from time to time

The location is good but stay away from the property if kids are on break from school. They were way too noisy and totally trashed the breakfast room before we even go there. There was no Oatmeal left and the place was a mess, the fruit was gone there was no yougert and the bread was lacking invariety . On the plus size it is at a good cross-roads for taking a horizontal road break. Beds were comfy when students weren't waking us up. Still it did not have the snobbery and stink of Harris Ranch.

Great hotel for an overnight. Within walking distance to all the restaurants in the small area. Safe, comfy room. Evening check-in lady was clearly not enjoying her job. She was zero help and didn't offer any additional information other than wanting a credit card and ID to check in. Horrible staff service. Morning guy was just fine. Check in gal made one feel like you were insulting her to ask any questions about the property/breakfast etc. After dinner, we went in to the office to ask if there were any cookies. She pointed around the corner and said "In there." The room didn't have any lights on and she didn't offer to turn them on. Bad, bad service on her part.

The Best Western Kettleman City is very clean, quiet (despite the highway less than 1/4 mi away) and safe. It was refreshing to come into a nice, spacious and clean room after traveling for hours. They even have a "fresh remote" free of germs! The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend staying here to anyone. We weren't travelling with our children but would have no issue with them staying here. Overall excellent experience.

There are not a whole lot of choices in that area (only two at the KC exit), and as of now, the BWKC seems to be the best one within a few exits of each other. I have stayed at them all at one point or another. There appears to be a new BW at the Stockdale Hwy exit, but have not checked it out yet. Finding the lowest rate takes a lot of work. When I check via BW site, the AAA rate is higher than their regular rate. And, the AAA rate is even higher than on AAA's own site. I still check Orbitz and other places every time. For now, booking on AAA's site seems to get the lowest price. However, your BW member #, and your requests/comments are not provided to BW as they would be if you booked direct. Sometimes it pays just to call the motel directly. I know my lowest rate, and I know my (incorrectly charged) highest rate. So, I work to get it as low as possible. Really, this is about a $60/nigh type of motel, and often I see people come in without reservations paying $150/night (including me, which they did in error and will not change back to my quoted rate). Cleanliness of the rooms, linens, (or lack thereof) is a big issue for me, but it's probably still cleaner than all the other motel options in this stretch of highway, which is in the middle of nowhere. This is a fairly even stopping point between Palm Springs and San Francisco Bay Area. I would say that there is need of at least one more newer motel at this location. The "Bravo Farms" development that is new(ish), is cute and has play areas for children, but there is no motel. Big mistake on their part. I'm as loyal to BW as BW is to me. If you don't fix your mis-charging mistakes without question, clean your hotels thoroughly, remember my preferences, clean all linens/towels/bedding after each stay, clean out all the dead crickets/roaches (during cricket season), insulate the rooms so that they cannot get in (doors all have wide openings that almost any small critter who wanted to, could get in), always have a super friendly and helpful person at the front desk, etc.. then I will always keep other options in my back pocket.

Kettleman City is just a wide spot in the road about half way thru the central valley of California. The Best Western Inn is an oasis along the freeway. Our room was comfortable and clean. Everything that you would expect from Best Western, free wi-fi, cable TV, refrigerator, and the most important...a great free breakfast is all there at a reasonably price.

Our toddler cannot hang, and nor can her parents, for the 6-hour drive from NorCal to SoCal on a Friday night. This hotel is the best halfway stop that we have found. This is our 2nd stay and it has not disappointed! The rooms are large and quiet, the staff is friendly and the free breakfast is good. My husband and I feel rejuvenated after a long week at work. There is even Free WiFi!

I arrived late night and was greeted by the front desk and completed my check-in really fast - that was a good experience. Not-so-good experience: I arrived to my non-smoking room (room 131) and when I opened the door the smell of that chemical-cover-up-smoke-scent blew right into my face. My wife and I were so tired we didn't want to deal with trying for another room since we were only going to be in the room for a short period of time. I'm sensitive to 2nd hand smoke and choose the non-smoking option for a reason. I understand the business need to fill up rooms, but I don't understand the reasoning to subject a non-smoker to a tainted room. Very disrespectful. The motel was clean and set at a good price for my visit. But because of being assigned to non-smoking room that smelled like covered up smoke, I won't be stopping off at this motel while traveling back and forth from northern and southern California. I'll go out of my way to stay at a Holiday Inn - I've never been assigned a tainted room there.

The motel is what you would expect along an interstate between big cities. Nothing special. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean enough. The breakfast was also what you would expect in a motel.

The front desk is always very helpful, understanding, and very accomodating about the business-related nature of all my stays at this location !! They continue to keep in mind that my preference is to always be located in a ground floor room because of me always carrying lots of written materials with me for my job.

This Best Western hotel definitely met our needs especially when driving to Washington State (Seattle) from the Los Angeles, CA area. They do have a pool and the rooms were definitely worth every penny. It was quiet and very close to restaurants, not to mention so conveniently close to the freeway. (No noise from freeway traffic). A/C in the rooms were comfortable throughout the night and beds and pillows were very comfortable. I really do not have anything negative to say about this place. Stayed on the second floor and the rooms were very safe. Vehcile parking lot was well lit, so that worry was no concern, we were able to rest peacefully. Lastly - big thank you to Ms. Becky at the front office for keeping that smile and letting us know of the different restaurants near this hotel.

When we pulled in at the spur of the moment to rest after a few hours of driving, we were greeted with a smile from Becky at the front desk. She was very efficient and has outstanding customer service skills. She treated us with dignity and respect. we stopped here after a long day of driving from washington to san diego and it was nice to see a smiling face behind the desk. she was friendly and very resourceful, answered all our questions, gave good suggestion son what routes to take and places to eat, which means she much travel alot. I think her name was Becky, if you get the chance to meet her and have any questions she is the one to ask. All I can say is THANK YOU BECKY, you went above and beyond what a desk clerk does for their guests. When my reservation did not show up in your system you personally took the time to call and get someone on the phone from Expedia and find out what went wrong, I have never had any other hotel let alone any other desk clerk do this for me. If I could write your Manager or Owner I would tell them that you deserve a raise or some kind of recognition for such excellent customer service. Just for doing this Becky I will be staying for all business travels in the future. Thank you again Becky!

Not horrible but not great either. I remember when Best Western Hotels used to be fantastic, what happened? Room is clean, except for the giant spider but that's not the hotel's fault. Bed so not comfortable and the sheets are like sandpaper. As a Canadian spending close to $170 for the room, I hoped and expected better.

Our bed had a dip in it so it was not comfortable to sleep. Breakfast was great and it was a quiet place to stay. Just got a bad bed. Would ask for a room with a newer bed next time. Staff was very friendly.

Average Best Western but clean, spacious room, and not much noise from I-5. Pool and hot tub. Lots of parking but sparse landscaping. Not a problem, just stopping for the night. Late night front desk staff did the job but wasted no energy on niceties.

Fit the needs for a quick place to catch some shut eye on a long drive. Room was clean, internet worked well, bed was comfortable and the fact that they provided breakfast made for an easy start to the morning

Clean, off the freeway but can't really hear the noise, good beds, nice breakfast food, not much in the area but has a fun store like mall across the street. Safe area. Nice breeze in the afternoon. 54 miles from Paso Robles.

We found the comfort of the room to be very good, especially for the price. Have stayed in better, and worse, Best Westerns. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast good. However.....bathroom had some extreme hazards, which we reported. The tub had a large area at the end of the tub with HARD SHARP tile. Sooooooo dangerous if someone should slip. I cringe to think of someone hitting that with any body part, let alone their head! The shower kept going from very hot to very cold every 5-10 seconds for both our showers. Very shocking! Made one jump back, which could cause a fall onto that HARD SHARP tiled area. And there was no grab bar in the tub or out to steady one when getting in and out. When we told the desk about this, they seemed concerned but, unsure what they could do. This would probably cause us to not stay here again, although it was probably the better of the motels in area. But will try the Super 8 there next time. Other than this would have given it much higher rating

The good news: great price for us and our dog, under $117 total; separate, enclosed bathroom; prepared kettle of oatmeal; good bed; complimentary bottle of water; for 1st floor rooms, parking right outside your door. The bad news: noise from above, loud shower fan and NO hot water in the shower in the morning - 7 AM. Breakfast was another standard offering of scrambled eggs that were passable plus various pastries, cereals, yogurts. Prepared oatmeal was a nice touch, but it was pretty watery. How can folks not get the mix of water to flakes right? It's another case of I'd stay there again, but I wish they'd take care of the deficiencies.

Quiet, clean and comfortable, mostly appreciated warm welcome of my dog. we appreciated finding a nice hotel rather far from a city when we felt tired and didn't wish to drive a longer distance to find a nice place to stay.

On our way to Disneyland, hoping to shorten the 6 hour trip, this was a nice place to stay. Although the hotel is situated right next to I-5, it was very quiet. Thank you for considering the noise factor in the construction of the building. This is a clean, quiet place to stay the night.

Traveling I-5 in Southern California is hard on the body and on equipment. Will not travel it again. Had a trailer so could not enter the parking area, The motel did not have a luggage cart so seveal trips were required to move items into motel room. Otherwise, an ok place to stay.

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Kettleman City. Upon leaving I managed to forget my laundry bag. I was only there for one night and didn't have much in it so I just wrote it off as a loss. A week later I was passing by and stopped in to see if maybe it found its way into the lost and found. I was so pleased to meet Marianne, working the front desk. She was not only pleasant and friendly but went the extra mile to find my bag. After checking four different places she finally came up with my lost laundry. At a time when "customer service" seems to be a thing of the past Marianne made me feel like I was important. Way to go Best Western and thanks again Marianne.

The woman who checked us in had a very terrible attitude and she didn't seem to want to help anyone, or be working in general. I don't know if she was having a rough night or what but you should never take that out on your guests. Not only was she rude with me, to the point I stood there shocked and didn't want to say anything more, as to not ruin my trip. But she was also very rude to a gentleman in front of me. Asking him what he wanted when he tried to give her his room keys. Also the jetted tubs should be cleaned a little better, as I had a wash cloth that I cleaned it with and you could see the dirt on it. Also the towels/basket should be placed in an area as not to cover the button for the jacuzzi..

Nice place to stay all around except for the room cards. We had two room cards, and one never worked, and the other one was programed 3 plus times which was a pain. I loved the beds. I slept well. When I took a shower they had the shampoo inside a device on the wall which was wonderful. The room was a little pricey.

Great halfway point on traveling from Reno to San Diego. We had 5 people and they had a suite for a reasonable price. Clean, updated, free wi-fi, quite, satellite TV, good water pressure, free breakfast that was good, did I say clean!? Great place to also stay for a great dinner at Bravo Farms, it added to the memorable experience and was WAY healthier food than Anderson Pea Soup up the road.

The location was perfect for a quick rest between OC and SF. It is right off the I-5 fwy. It also being a Best Western, was clean and dog friendly! We checked in really late 2:30am and my husband was met with a friendly face at the counter. Check-in was fast and we were able to sleep comfortably. Free breakfast was a nice addition and we were on our way. Our whole family, the four of us, plus a dog were able to enjoy our quick stay. Breakfast had a buffet of eggs, oatmeal, cereal, Danish, breads, yogurt and hot and cold beverages. Free parking.

I needed an overnighter for a trip from SF to LA. Based on reviews, I got a reservation here. I found it very satisfactory for an overnighter hotel on a driving trip. The room was quiet and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet is definitely above average for this kind of hotel.

We were travelling from Santa Clara to LA after a 49ers game and looked for somewhere to break the trip. The hotel is right off the I5. The hotel room was good value for money and provided a reasonable breakfast. The room was clean and of a good size. Front desk man when we arrived could have been a little more welcoming but not enough to be upsetting. Like many of my reviews, I rate this hotel based on it being an average hotel at a reasonable price and therefore having that expectation, not one of a 5 star as some reviewers often expect and compare to. Would stay here again if needing to break up the trip on the I5.

The location is convenient when traveling on I-5 in Central CA. We were very disappointed in this visit. When we went into our room, the cleaning rag was still on the bathroom counter. The coffeemaker in our room was missing a piece and could not be used. It took them a long time to bring us another one, and with no apologies. The coffee at the breakfast was abysmal. Really I had never tasted such bad coffee, and we are not very picky about coffee. The other breakfast items were not being kept refreshed. When we told the front desk about our breakfast experience there was no response. I would not expect much beyond a decently clean room when staying here

We have stayed here maybe 20 times but this was our poorest experience. A cleaning rag left on our bathroom counter, the inroom coffeemaker was missing a piece and couldn't be used. Took over an hour for them to bring a replacement. Coffee in the breakfast room was ghastly. We are not that picky about coffee but this tasted like pure chemicals. No one asked how our stay was when we checked out. Good location when traveling from Bay Area to LA

Stopped overnight because route 5 was at a standstill in both directions--hotel was right off the freeway, in the middle of several restaurants and fast food places and very, very clean. The lady at the desk saw my cane and gave us a handicapped room on the first floor. Room very clean and spacious. The breakfast in the morning was increadible--Waffles, hot oatmeal, juices, cold cereal, best coffee!, rolls, bagels etc. will definitly stay here next time we travel up route 5.

On the second day of our trip from Maple Ridge, British Columbia to Palm Springs, it was about time to stop for the night. But, along the i5, we were in the middle of nowhere. But we hit Kettleman City: two hotels, three gas stations and that was it. So we stayed for the night in Best Western Kettleman City Inn & Suites. And what a nice surprise it was. A large, very clean room, two very comfortable beds, a very helpful and friendly receptionist and the next morning a nourishing hot breakfast. A place to remember for our next trip to California.

Not many places to stay on this part of I-5. They have a captive audience, mostly construction workers and over tired travellers such as us. More expensive than a way nicer Best Western we stayed in the previous night in Ashland Oregon. When we got to our room, housekeeping was still there but when I went in the maid was watching TV and hadnt started cleaning the room. We had to wait 10-15 minutes. The person at desk recommended a restaurant that was closed...nothing else in town but fast food chains...had a terrible dinner at Denny's. Plan your trip down I-5 so you dont get stuck making this same BAD choice.

1/2 way between our home and san diego and we stay here once to twice a year as a break in travel. always clean and comfortable beds. price is great for the suite. maybe some touch up paint or some of the carpets a little worn but we always feel comfortable and safe staying here. staff is always friendly

Fair room at a fairly high rate. The room above was extremely noisy due to weak flooring and it sounded like a heard of cattle were in a stampede.. The shower drain was slow to empty. Parking was good and the staff were quite helpful. Location was just off of the freeway making for it easy to return to it.

I considered giving this two stars, but it was not that bad. The room was large enough, it had a microwave and frig, and the bed was comfortable enough. However, it looks like a barracks. And the breakfast was deplorable. In addition, it appeared that nobody hovered near to keep the breakfast room clean, which certainly occurs on most Best Westerns where I have stayed.

For our frequent drives north, Kettleman has always been a good stopping point. As a result, we have often stayed at this Best Western. Although we have never considered it spectacular, it typically served our need for a place to stay before getting back on the freeway. However, this time we saw several signs that the hotel –or perhaps the city—is suffering. When we arrived, the person at the desk was at best distant, rather than welcoming. When we then entered our room, we discovered that a previous visit by a dog had left a “deposit” clearly evident under one of the chairs. On letting the person at the desk know, rather than being apologetic, she let us know that she couldn't clean it up then and would have to move us to another room. While we could attribute our bad experience to one person who may have been having a bad day, we also noticed that the motel that shares the street with the Best Western has a swimming pool that has been filled with sand, and which is now growing weeds. On the other hand, we used our return trip to stay at Harris Ranch, just up the road a bit (25 mins). Not only was that only slightly more expensive than the Best Western, it was also an outstanding place to stay.

We stayed over for one night on the way out from Yosemite. It was really expensive in relation to what you get but there aren't many options around so you don't have much choice. We requested a quiet inner room and ended up next to the vending machine which we could hear from our bed. The bathroom sink was really moldy and stank so we ended up just using the bath because it was so gross. The breakfast room was filled with flies and the orange juice was off and tastes terrible. Sorry we stayed there - avoid if you can.

We have stayed here several times and have always had great service, parking for our truck and trailer and a comfortable room. We have not eaten the free breakfast. This is a pet friendly hotel but the rooms do not smell like there has been a pet problem before....

Certainly was pleasantly surprised at the caliber of this hotel. Friendly staff and well appointed room. Despite being on the ground floor and close to the freeway, the room was quiet. Complimentary breakfast a plus.

The staff was friendly and helpful! The rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. My entire family enjoyed the continental breakfast. Best Western Kettleman exceeded my expectations and the price was reasonable. I would stay here again!

I love this hotel! Very friendly staff. Complementary breakfast was above and beyond my expectations. My room was INCREDIBLE! Everything you need is within walking distance.... I love that in and out is right across the street. I will be staying here again, definitely.

Room was immaculate clean, quiet,comfortable,and nicely equipped. The breakfast was good. Quiet but quick access to the freeway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being bilingual Spanish, was also very nice.

Clean. Pleasant maid service, friendly & professional office staff. Maintained pool & spa. Great breakfast & room wifi. Excellent location just off the I5. Great to stay for business (us) or pleasure.

I normally blast down Hwy 5 between LA and SF, but we decided to book this hotel on our way to Death Valley. I expected the worst and was really surprised at how nice this hotel turned out to be. We arrived after midnight and got right into our room. The bed was comfy, the room was not fancy but efficient, and there was plenty of shampoo, conditioner, etc because they use wall dispensers. Wifi was ok, and had enough outlets so we could charge our devices. The morning breakfast was really impressive. Real scrambled eggs, bacon, and oatmeal, plus all the usual breads, dry cereal, yogurt, juices, and waffle maker. Good coffee (but no lids). Normally we would run to Starbucks, but this saved us a trip. I was really impressed, a nicely run owner-operated Best Western

We stayed in a deluxe room with a hot tub in the room. That was pretty darned nice. We'd been working up to a half-marathon, so both of us soaked in the bubbly water. Otherwise, this is a good basic room just off the interstate with good working wifi, a good simple Best Western breakfast, and limited but adequate parking. Bunch of fast food places nearby. It's a little tucked away, off the main road and a bit of a hook around to find it, but you can see the sign from a long way, so you can't get lost. Outdoor pool.

After some confusion about our choice of a reserved room, Management gave us a suite at the price of a standard room. My wife, toy poodle, and I were traveling back from Oregon to Phoenix. The hotel is between SF and LA on Route 5 in a fairly isolated area. Our suite was nicely appointed and the king sized bed very comfortable. We had some problems with in room free WiFi. Not sure why.The breakfast was decent and we appreciated the safe place to stay as we continued our way south.

I had called and spoke to a lade named Chanoa, I was not happy with her customer service. She seemed very rude and unfriendly. So when I was traveling I was hoping that when getting to the hotel it would be a better experience, better customer service, thank goodness for a blonde girl named Becky. She greeted me as soon as I walked in the door even though she was helping other customers. She told me about her freshly made cookies and lemonade and to help myself and that she would be right with me. Absolutely delicious!!!! She was great, had a smile on her face and was very informative about the local area and hotel. Thank you Becky!!!

I've stayed here many times before and it never changes...great physical location, hotel staff, room, and another very important item is the always wonderful: the "multiple item breakfast buffet menu" !! There are other options very closely available BUT this is always my choice !!

Was doing a two week road trip from my hometown of Crescent City with an ultimate destination in Vista, CA. Wanted to stop somewhere 2/3 of the way and found this property on the website. After nine hours of driving, it was a welcome stop, staff were very helpful and inviting, good dinner recommendation, clean room, decent cont. breakfast, no complaints, just happy to have found this place.
