"Great hotel, terrible guest service "

Room was great, clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included, lots of choices for hot and cold foods. Booked the room for three nights after the first night they checked me out in the morning claiming I only booked for one night. Luckily they had a room for us for last two nights. Asked the manager to call me twice regarding the rates staying the same and he never did. Person at the desk was very unsure of a lot of things. They originally overcharged me and then had to go in and adjust because after all they did have my original reservation and could give me the same rates. I didn't enjoy spending a whole day of my vacation playing phone tag with them because they made a mistake

Great Location right by the center of Keene. Clean, updated and well maintained and the Staff are the best. Never an issue and reasonable prices. Close to Keene State College if visiting there. I think the restaurant is closed - But plenty of food options in the area

Our family of five had a fabulous stay at this hotel. From the road, it's not overly attractive, but once you hit the inside, you quickly see why the Best Western Plus Keene Hotel has great reviews. The indoor pool was fantastic...large, spacious, and clean. The complimentary breakfast was seriously amazing. There were so many delicious options, including both waffles and pancakes with toppings like whipped cream, strawberry compote, cinnamon, and chocolate chips. The two ladies who worked the breakfast in late May, 2018, were so helpful and kind. Our double queen room was a normal size but clean and comfortable with a microwave and fridge. We would definitely stay here again!

I'm not typically a fan of Best Western hotels but this one is an exception! This hotel is clean and comfortable in a location that is convenient to stores and places to eat. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was large, clean and comfortable. There was a decent sized refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast was included and was comprised of hot and cold food options. The dining area was spacious and clean and the staff in the dining area was attentive. I can't think of a single reason to not stay at the Best Western in Keene!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in the Keene area. The room was clean, bed very comfortable, priced right. Breakfast had numerous choices. Service was excellent. I would stay here for sure if in the area again.

The room was spotless and beds were comfortable. The whole hotel smelt amazing.. very clean!!! Our housekeeper Olivia Curtis was amazing and a huge help to some of our needs . Will definitely recommend and be back

Hotel looks amazing. The updates look great. The full complimentary breakfast was awesome too, they had a lot of different choices. The front desk girl named Alicia Morrison was absolutely amazing and very helpful with booking our room late at night! Highly recommend this hotel

"Clean & affordable"

For a Best Western, I was pleasantly surprised! This felt more like a Holiday Inn - the breakfast was awesome & everything was clean / mostly updated. (The TVs we flatscreens but older, around early 2000s). I really enjoyed having the balcony, however small/narrow, as it allowed me to get fresh air without leaving my room. The pool was clean and safe, as was the outdoor courtyard/patio - which we used with our 2.5year old who loves to run. 4/5 stars due to restaurants being across the rotary & the attached restaurant under renovations. But they did have microwavable foods in their mini shop. Also, we stayed when there were lots of kids so it was a bit noisier in the morning than I like - but no fault of the hotel. I'd stay here again!!!

Hotel was great, Complimentary breakfast was what would expect and maybe a little bit more. Plenty of space to eat. 24 hr coffee machine was handy as well. Rooms were clean. only thing i can think of to make experience better would have been if the bar and restaurant were open.

While the staff are very nice the hotel is old and needs updating. Many non smoking rooms smell of smoke that comes in from the hallways. The rooms have a musty smell. We stayed n=2 nights and then returned a day later asking for a better room that didn't get smoke from the hallway. The next room was worse! We left rather than staying the 2 weeks as planned.

Hotel was nice clean. Front desk staff were helpful. swimming pool was nice clean water warm we enjoyed it with our grandsons. The breakfast was very good clean and well attended by the staff. There was a nice verity of items to please everyone. coffee, tea and fruit was available in lobby all day and night. The carpet in the room was worn with a hole in it and needs to be replaced.

Clean rooms and friendly staff in Best Western Hotels at Keene. Easy to visit with friends without loud noises or large crowds. Breakfast was Excellent and it's free. Parking was good. Lighting outside was great. We felt very secure and safe.

We were in Keene for our grandson's graduation. This Best Western is conveniently located for this event. However, we were very disappointed that the attached restaurant is currently closed! There are several other choices for food near-by and downtown Keene, so it all worked out.

Hotel quite all right with interesting design, so map of the rooms comes handy. Basic breakfast but sufficient. Rooms clean. Personnel helpful and nice. Hotel restaurant closed so there is now more parking in the evening. Next to plaza with some food establishments, etc.

I had to work late and start early in the area. We are seasoned international travelers and often book online. In this case though I was a working man in a uniform. I checked in after dinner and left before breakfast. Initially the room looked ok so I changed and picked up a bedtime snack. A piece of fruit would have been nice but bought some cookies. Got back to the room and found a hand towel unfolded and a water bottle in the trash. Later I found some meat next to the fridge and grounds in the coffee pot. It looked like the room was used after it was last cleaned. The room was a little rough with spots of rust in the bathroom I was just too tired to deal with moving so I slept got up handed in my key cards and swiped a banana and muffin before the breakfast bar was open. I am afraid that being given what I expect was the poorest of rooms as a working man will prevent us from seeing what Best Western has to offer us as travelers. I couldn't find an email contact for the facility directly to let them know. ?

This was a very convenient hotel located close to the college. The hallways were quiet and the pool was perfectly maintained. Rooms were clean and cozy with plenty of towels. Will Definitely stay here again!

"Good Location, A Very Good, Clean Hotel"

I had an important business meeting in my room. The hotel is located near major roads and is well marked. The check in was prompt and complete including benefits related to my BW type of membership. Actually, I was able to check in well before the usual time. The reception area is clean and attractive and the breakfast room and meeting areas are attractive and quite large. The guest room was clean, well maintained and provided refrigerator and a microwave oven. The price was acceptable even without usual discounts. It appears that this property does not offer any discounts at least at the week day I stayed there and there were many rooms not occupied. Other facilities were in a good shape and well maintained.

Everything was great BUT the nasty smell in our room. It literally smelled like someone took a #2 and hid it somewhere. Also the water pressure sucked and showerhead could use a cleaning or a new one.

Friendly, clean and accommodating. Front desk was professional and welcoming. The gym is clean also! Next time I will bring a swimsuit to use the pool. Lots of restaurants close by as well as shopping....

I am a long-standing Hilton Honors member but there are a couple of towns I've had to stay in that did not have a Hilton property. I was hesitant to stay at the Best Western but am now a convert. They are consistent: Excellent staff, clean rooms, very good and thoughtful breakfast offerings, and a price that can't be beat. Oh yes, and an excellent fitness room.

The Best Western Keene is our hotel of choice when visiting the area. The staff are very hospitality, the hotel is very clean and a short drive to downtown. The breakfast is what you would expect a free hotel breakfast to be. Nothing fancy but it does the trick. Don't miss the after dinner cookies in the lobby! YUMMY! Our one complaint (hence the 4 stars) would be that the attached Irish pub, Waxy O'Connor's, has been closed for a few months now with no signs of reopening. We enjoyed the convenience of Waxy's which was quite the hoppin' place on a Friday or Saturday night with great live bands and a fun crowd. If that's your thing, as mentioned previously, downtown and it's many bars and restaurants is a short $7 taxi or Uber ride.

This is by far my favorite hotel in Keene. We have stayed here multiple times while visiting Keene State, and have never been disappointed. It is always clean, comfortable beds, rooms are large enough with a fridge, good quality toiletries in the bathroom. Excellent continental breakfast that includes omelets, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, etc, as well as great coffee. Very friendly and helpful staff. Indoor pool and fitness room are adequate. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we really miss the on-site bar/restaurant. It was so convenient to have on-site and the quality was always great. Since this hotel is off the beaten path and nothing is walkable, the restaurant was important to have. If that comes back - hotel is back to 5 stars in my book!

I'd stay here again! The room was clean comfortable, quiet and the staff was informative and polite. Gym was one of the best hotel gyms I've seen, and I've been at a lot of hotels in all over the country.

Quick overnight stay and the hotel was nice! Very clean room! Excellent front desk staff! Warm cookies in the lobby. Comfortable bed. Even the hallway smelled good. Ice machine was close and had plenty of ice.

Went for an overnight trip with my fiancee. We enjoyed our stay a lot, the only thing we didn't really like was the free breakfast bar that was a little misleading. We ended up eating breakfast elsewhere but overall a great hotel.

Spent the day in Winchester NH and enjoyed the stop in Keene for a Good night's sleep. Unpacked and very clean room. Went to the Movies in Keene got in late and had a great night's sleep. Went down for Breakfast which had many hot or cold items to choose from. Will come back...

Clean room, stocked bathroom, and everything worked perfectly in our room. We had an issue with bedding and the staff was quick to bring an additional bed, upon our request through the text program. If I had one thing to critique about our trip, I wish the free breakfast had bacon! But for a free breakfast, it was the best one I've ever had!

Got caught in Keene during the blizzard, so I decided to just spend the night. The staff were very professional and polite. Lots of options for food in the area. Hotel was in great shape, room was nice and lots of channels to choose from.

My husband and I met my daughter, her husband andmy two grand kids, ages 10 & 12. They loved the pool and breakfast, helped themselves to waffles and pancakes. My grand daughter wanted to know if next time we could stay for a week. Very cute.

Everything was perfect for our stay. It was quiet, comfortable, clean and pet friendly. We even got a package for our poodle including treats. There were no odd smells. There was plenty of hot water. A large refrigerator was in our room and also a microwave. There was TV including HBO. The internet worked great. And it is ideally located near Walmart, Pet-smart and 5 Guys among other stores.

Smoking rooms smell really bad it was all that was left thought we could cope with the smell but it was really awful even for a smoker it was way more then I could stand.... card had to be activated 3 times but staff were very friendly overall the rooms are affordable and it's not the ritz hotel... if I stay again it will be in non smoking

I really can't say enough about this property. Clean place. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Free breakfast in the morning (light fare). Very roomy. You won't find people on top of each other here. It's spread out. Vending machines in lobby have microwaveable treats. And the price was not bad at all. We will stay here again.

Booked two rooms for one night for a birthday girls night for my daughter. 5 kids, 3 adults. Got conjoined rooms and it was perfect! Accommodating staff. The kids enjoyed the pool open till close and the breakfast was a bonus I wasn't expecting. Overall, great value for the price!

I ended up needing a place to stay due to a snow storm and not wanting to travel home. It ended up feeling like a mini vacation! V clean, quiet, and relaxing. I travel to Keene for graduate school and having a place to decompress after class was helpful

breakfast service and buffet was clean friendly and had an awesome variety. The waffle station had granola, chips, cinnamon, coconut, and Nutella. First time I saw a hotel breakfast bar put that much time and attention into the small details.

My dog and I needed a last minute place to stay after an emergency at my apartment and this seemed to be the best option locally. I couldn't be happier that I chose this hotel! The General Manager, Mayur Patel, was very patient with the many questions I asked him at various times during my two-night stay. Angela, one of the housekeeping staff, was very helpful - when I was carrying breakfast back to my room, both hands were full and Angela was kind enough to open the door to my room for me. But Jacob from maintenance gets my highest praises! He came to my room because I had trouble opening the sliding glass door. After he opened it, I took my dog outside and Jacob noticed that she had problems getting down the small step to get outside. An hour later, he came back to the room with a small wooden block and made a makeshift ramp so my dog could easily get outside! He also brought rugs to put on the floor in front of the door to the hallway because my dog has trouble walking on slick floors. I appreciate this kindness more than words can say! Everyone else who works there was super nice too and it made my stay all the better.

My wife and i stayed at this hotel last week on our vacation in New England. The young lady that greeted us when we checked in was outstanding; not only did she make us feel welcome without a reservation but she even went as far as logging my Best Western # into the system so that i would receive credit for the stay. The pool and complementary breakfast both received high marks from us. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is very well situated,close to every important road,pretty close to main street,....the widest in the U.S.A. Very nice building ,carpets everywhere and a very nice lobby where you can relax with a coffee and a newspaper.The rooms are a good size and and have everything you can wish for.The swimming-pool is always at a good temperature and there is a small but well equiped gym.The breakfast is incredible and about the best we ever had in a B.W.

I've been staying here for a number of years now and I have to say, I can always count on Mr. Patel's staff and hotel to meet my needs. He showed me the new hanged that were made to the hotel guest rooms and I must say the mirrors look sharp. It is unfortunate Waxys was closed for renovations but I understand. I just hope they are open by the time we make the annual summer trip. Great place, will always return and recommend.

Could not have had a worse experience. Locked out of room. Took an hour to get in. Ended up late to a wedding. The reason we came to town. Nope. Will never stay at ANY of their hotels again. Totally my fault for being cheap. You get what you pay for.

Very expensive and no hot water for two days Called the front desk and they promised to fix and did nothing. Very bad experience. No manager on duty either day. Not much more I can say about this place other than it is over rated. Red Roof Inn at least has hot water.

I had to get a room for my stay in Keene for work, the room was nice and clean. Good view and quiet. The attendant at the front desk got me the requested quiet room........ Unfortunately I had no hot water for both days/nights there. So I went from a long 3 drive to the end of my stay without being able to take a hot shower. The morning after the first nights stay I mentioned it to the front desk, later that night in my return I inquired if the hot water was working since I really needed a shower after working all day. They said it was repaired and was not working due to the restaurant next door being closed down for good was sharing the hot water with some of the rooms including mine. They were working on deverting it from being shared all day and into the night. I tried the hot water and got a little warm after a while but not hot. I figured maybe the tanks need to be filled and heated and would just wait till the next morning to shower. Next morning nothing but cold water once again. My bill was slipped under the door and it had zeros only in the balance box and the total price of $251.12 in the credit column. I thought perhaps the room was being credited for the inconvenience of not being able to shower with hot water and not providing a restaurant to eat at when the signs for it are still outside and on the building that the "Waxy O'Conners" pub was there and open. By the way one reason I choose this hotel was for it having a place to eat and drink after driving and working all day. The 2nd morning I approached the front desk and said I still had no hot water. I also inquired about the bill if it was taken care of or not but she didn't know the answer and ask me to call back when the manager came in at 2pm. I was still in the area so I just went inside. I was told the credit card was billed for the full amount. I am surprised that no offer of reward points were made for my inconvenience of not being able to bath/shower with hot water. The restaurant closed is also a selling pitch that not delivered. I still have to finish working in Keene for the rest of the day then drive back home the same way I got here with my home shower being the last one I had since I left at 4am the day I got here. My work is sweaty with chemicals . A shower is a needed and welcome thing to have

"Bad pillows"

A nice ,clean, two story walk up, like the old side of the road motel. Nicely updated. At check in you sign for a quiet time promise. I woke up at 2am with a neck ache from the Bad pillows, I tried all of them, with a throbing headache the next room had their TV blaring so loud you could hear it through the walls and also in the hallway. A little overpriced by $100 bucks in my opinion. I paid $275 for a Saturday night in the first week of October

From the moment we pulled up to when we left was great. Friendly and very pleasant staff made our stay here memorable! There was a restaurant there,but it was closed. So, we ordered delivery from a pizza shop and I got a sub called a steak bomb and it was delicious. Enhanced the experience!!( Amicci's was the name, I believe)

weve stayed here before an really liked this hotel because of waxys restaurant an the heated pool..room was very clean as usual hotel desk very nice but we were very disappointed that waxys wasn't open an closed for renovations..the number 1 reson I booked it again was convince of restaurant on the property..was informed best western doesn't own them but I wish someone had told me it was closed..free breakfast..well it was just ok this time eggs were dry but everything else was great..heated pool was a big plus! wish theyd add a hot tub though..

This hotel is nice in foyer and breakfast area, however rooms are not in the best condition (bed requires updated mattress). Very nice pool and surrounding amenities. Immediate areas outside of hotel could use repairs and updates. Excellent Breakfast staff!

The location was great, easy to get to, and we enjoyed the surrounding area. The hotel and room were very clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful. There was an indoor pool and exercise room as well as Wi-Fi/Internet. Would go back.

If you're traveling, this place is great. No restaurant, but there are several nearby. Nice indoor pool and gym. The hotel is south of the main town, so you need to drive to get to shopping, restaurants, and services.

Well-kept hotel with modern amenities, comfortable beds, and warm, friendly service. The only downside was that the breakfast featured scrambled eggs that were perhaps the most tasteless and dry that I ever had. Even though they were probably made from powdered eggs, there must be a better recipe they could follow. I'd like to return to this hotel, and decent scrambled eggs would certainly make a difference for me, especially since I don't eat wheat or foods with high sugar content.

We do use liquid eggs in the cooking process and never powdered eggs, however we have a limited kitchen with limited equipment. We have a different choice of eggs on a daily basis from, breakfast wraps, scrambled eggs, egg omelette with cheese, hard boiled eggs and much more. We keep a wide variety to cater to almost everyone. Our breakfast is rated in the top 20% of all Best Westerns worldwide due to the variety and quality of the food and service we provide. Our experience at this hotel was excellent....from arrival to departure.......ck in very easy....the rate was very reasonable staff very helpful ...provided an excellent list of local restaurants with wonderful recommendations....the pool was the right temperature and refreshing after a long drive......And the breakfast.....prepared by Lorie....the best of our road trip from Ontario through NY., VERMONT, NH and Main

Not a great experience. Hotel has very bad television reception making some channels(including HBO) unwatchable. Inability of plugging in an external device like computer or iPad makes for a very disappointing experience and the beds and pillows were old and not very comfortable!

I found the staff here very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean (although the carpet in my room really needed to be replaced). There were lots of options at breakfast as well as s coffeemaker and microwave in the room.

I've stayed at this location on numerous times in the past and always found it to be a clean and convenient motel. The staff never disappoints me with their politeness and professionalism. the breakfast is adequate and wholesome.

Beds are always very comfortable and good breakfast. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Location makes for easy access to the highway and entry overhangs are particularly helpful if it is raining, which is was due to the remnants of hurricane Harvey.

We had a death in the family and several of us stayed at the BW in Keene,NH since it was in an ideal location given where the wake and funeral locations. Laura Washer, th Corporate Sales Manager was exceptionally helpful in getting us group reservations on short notice. She also went out of her way to make sure our needs were handled so that we could concentrate on our family's grief. Thank you, Laura! The entire staff was helpful and empathetic! The breakfast staff was also really on the ball, keeping the area tidy and filled with good food!

We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Keene, NH and booked a room with 2 queen beds for my family. When we got to our room after dinner and actually looked at the beds we realized that they were full size beds. Since it was after 10PM we didn't call the front desk, which was a mistake since we had such a horrible night sleep. In the morning when checking out we informed the front desk staff of the error and she insisted that all of the rooms were queen size beds and there was no error. We got no where with her so we just waled out. With the misrepresentation of their rooms and no satisfaction about the issue I will definitely not stay here again.

Recently stayed for 2 nights for a wedding. We stayed in the reserved "block". We were quite spread out and caused some ruckus, it would have been less of an issue if they'd kept al the rooms together (sorry to the people in between us :(). Our Room was clean! Found a pacifier under the bed in another one! The breakfast was good! More than we expected! We were bummed that the restaurant closed, it was one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

I would have given a 5 as we did have a great stay. Hotel is great. We were able to have a cookout on their patio and have about 40 other hotel guests join us. All of those guests were attending our daughters wedding the next day. Biggest problems were no attached restaurant as it was closed for renovations and we asked to check out later on Sunday and my husband said they wanted $20/hour to check out later! Absolutely crazy. So, if your just looking for a place to sleep, this is a good choice.

Spent one night at this property on the way home from a Vermont road trip. Great location in Keene, although it can be a bit tricky getting in and out as there is a great deal of traffic at this intersection. The property is a 70s era building that's been (mostly) successfully updated with newer furniture and amenities,etc. Check in was easy, and the staff very pleasant and helpful, making sure I parked near the entrance closest to my room. The only downside of that is that one has to carry luggage up the stairs, as the only elevator is in the lobby area quite a distance away. However the clerk first checked to see if I had any mobility issues, and that was appreciated. The room was decently furnished, clean,and the A/C, WiFi, and TV all worked well. There were a couple of peppermints and "I Care" Best Western cards on the bed, (along with the tip envelope!), which was a nice touch. An unusual feature was a game console attached to the TV - a great idea for families or gamers. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels, nice water pressure and plenty of hot water. The ice machine was down the hall in a glassed corridor between buildings. Speaking of that ice machine - overall there was very little hall noise other than some excited kids with their families, but no big deal, but the ice machine's placement in that glass corridor kind of WAS a big deal. Very noisy, very loud, and it echoed down the hallways every time it kicked in. I heard a couple people mention it the next morning, and I must admit it did wake me a few times. I was a bit concerned upon check in when I saw a box of gift bags awaiting guests for a wedding, and I saw quite a few guests arriving with dress and suit bags, etc.,but there was no unusual noise or partying going on, at least in the section I was in. Breakfast was pretty standard, they did have a pancake maker which is a nice addition as well as the standard waffle maker, etc. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. The one disappointment was that the attached restaurant was closed for renovation, and there is no mention of that on their website, but I had read reviews on Trip Advisor noting that, so was prepared. Check out was very easy, as they slipped the invoice under the door early in the a.m.and you could just leave your key cards in the room, very much appreciated. I definitely would stay at this hotel again. It's a great location, clean rooms,friendly staff, but just try to avoid that roaring ice machine!

Very nice hotel. Close to downtown Keene. Rooms very spacious. Comfortable beds and great water pressure in the shower. Big pool and a nice courtyard with lounge chairs and grills available to use. Nice landscaping and a very well kept property. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the front desk staff was just not friendly at all. When I greeted the young ladies behind the desk as I was leaving the hotel, they just stared at me and said nothing in return. I found that awfully rude. Aside from that, everything else was just perfect! Will stay again when in the area.

Had a very enjoyable stay. All of the staff was completely professional and courteous. The lobby and room were very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was good and had a nice selection of food. I will definitely return.

a bit pricey for one night. breakfast was typical but fresh with eggs, cheese, salsa, pancakes, waffles, and bagels. the repair service was excellent, as the TV remote was dysfunctional in my room. beds are wonderful and the layout and amenities of the room were delightful. The front desk at 9:30-10pm at night (when I checked in)was very slow and not attentive at times.

The rooms were clean and neat looking. The freezer didn't work properly, my ice cream melted. The staff were all courteous and helpful. Easy access to the highway and the downtown area with lots of shopping and eating.

The cleanliness of the room was concerning followed by the very uncomfortable pillows. The bar at the hotel was closed for renovation and no one was notified (specifically the mother of the bride who booked it for a rehearsal dinner) I unfortunately will not be returning to the best western in Keene

We were booked for a six day stay at the Best Western. We found our first floor room to be noisy. Hallway traffic. We complained that the swimming pool was ice cold..."heater was being replaced". Our grandchildren were unable to swim. The attached/advertised restaurant and lounge were "closed for renovations."

We would rate the hotel 3 stars , average hotel with some new renovations. We were extremely disappointed that Waxy O'Connor restaurant pub was closed, until Fall, especially since we booked the stay based on previous restaurant/entertainment experience. A clean comfortable place, always our first choice when in the Keene, N.H., area.The restsurant is closed for renovations currently, but, when open its very convenient and has had pretty good food as Waxy O'Connors pub.We are curious to see what it reopens as, and hope it will be as good.The location is close to downtown and there are shops and other restaurants fairly close to this hotel.Overall a favorite of ours.

Hotel was great, staff was nice. Went during baseball tourney season so lots of little leaguers there but overall nice stay. FYI, if you book, please make sure you note your reservation to be a nonsmoking room. We didn't notice but we were in a smoking room on a smoking floor and had to be moved by the hotel staff. Because we had 2 small children with us, they were very accommodating.

The Title says it all! I resent paying $200.00 for accommodations any descent hotel would provide as a basic user friendly hotel. I also resent paying for and filling out a survey educating establishments that ripped me off and do not provide compensation in the form of reduced rate for my stay. All I received was a cursory "we will look into it" .... That means the next person who has the misfortune of staying at this hotel will fall prey to the same BS I had to deal with....

We are not accustomed to hearing and seeing such a negative review as you can see from the other reviews about our hotel on TripAdvisor. The room you stayed in was in our Business Section of the hotel and we make sure it is one of the quietest areas. We do not allow dogs or families with children in that area for the same purpose. We had a member of our Engineering team look at the fridge in your room, and he reported nothing to be wrong with it. I know it seems strange, but most people tend not to sleep three feet away from their refrigerator at home and do not experience the noise unless they are at a hotel. Our roofs are pitched and can not support large HVAC units, perhaps it was the smaller unit in your room, but such vibrations should have been minuscule compared to what you have mentioned. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience.

Quick easy check in, and warm cookies were delicious. We were given a large handicap accessible room that was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again if ever in the area. The only negative was there were no towels at the pool.

The hotel is modern and very clean. The staff at the front desk could not be more helpful and sweet to deal with. We had a large group and they took care of all of us without a hiccup. The breakfast is great and the staff that serves it is even better. An awesome place to stay!

We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed. Also, we were told to move our cars on Sunday morning because there was a crew to hot-top the parking lot. This was at 8:00. Not very considerate. Location was fine.

We stayed only one night but we were pleased by the helpfulness at check in, in meeting our requests. Our room was spacious and had all the accoutrements-mini-fridge,microwave, coffee-maker and very clean and comfortable . The breakfast was a cut above the usual hot breakfast with a pancake and a waffle maker along with the eggs, sausage , yogurt, cereals,etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was undergoing construction so we cannot comment on it . There is an indoor heated pool and an outdoor patio.Ice water in the lobby with cookies was a nice touch. All in all, a very clean,comfortable and friendly hotel.

We pass through Keene each year on our trip to Nova Scotia. We travel with two cocker spaniels so our choice of hotel is limited to those accepting pets. This year we decided to change venues and stay at the Best Western Plus hotel as they accept pets. We were thrilled with our decision. Our spacious and comfortable room was on the ground floor, with sliding glass doors opening to the outside -- this made walking our dogs easy and enjoyable as the hotel is located in a pretty area of town. There is a pool and a workout room that we plan to take advantage of in future visits - the breakfast was excellent and offered a wide variety of choices. In short, this was everything that you could look for in a motel while travelling and I strongly recommend it.

showed up at the hotel with confirmation numbers for three hotel rooms .clerk could only find one confirmation number. Luckily they had plenty of rooms . enjoyed the Irish pub as we are Murphy's. no hot water .rooms where dated but had a great family weekend. Then came the credit card bills arrived. Billed for all the rooms that they couldn't find the confirmation numbers for in addtion to the rooms we agreed to pay for. Several calls, six to be exact. spoke to Jeremy each time. Office manager and GM never had the courtesy of returning my call. office manager told Jeremy to tell me charges would fall off in 10 days. they didn't. Spent over $600 for one night of rooms and over $500 in food and beverage. You would think, with 2 more kids going to college in NH we could get a call back at the very least . Will definitely stay someplace else for the next kids graduation and family weekends. Thumbs down for best Western plus Keene New Hampshire

We have stayed here a number of times over the years and the Keene Best Western has always been a pleasant experience. We feel welcome the moment we arrive. I happened to run into the General Manager late in the evening and even though I could tell he was busy he did not hesitate to chat with my wife and I while we checked in. My daughter loved the pool. The room was clean. The breakfast had a good variety and was well stocked. All the housekeepers greeted us whenever we passed. Never disappointed here.

We always stay at this hotel when we travel to Keene. This trip was excellent as usual however the restaurant has recently closed. We find this property to be well managed, accommodating, and In a great location. We have stayed here numerous times over the last 30 years and have always had a great experience.

Everyone was very friendly from when I arrived to when I left, the rooms were very clean as was the rest of the hotel. I had a great experience and the complimentary breakfast was delicious! I was really looking forward to the Belgian waffles and they did not disappoint! I wish breakfast was offered for a little longer since I had to rush but other than that my stay was excellent! I've stayed here before and I will stay again!

The hotel is a nice hotel but the room wasn't as clean as I expected they need to learn how to clean a little better the tub had hair in it the floor by the bed there was chip pieces then were the slide door is there was pizza sauce on the wall and cookies and chips by the slider door

My wife and I were moving from Manassas, VA, to nearby Surry, NH, with 2 dogs and desperately needed a place to stay for 4 nights to ease the transition. This hotel satisfied this need perfectly and prevented us from burning out or going crazy. We could not put a price on our stay here. The breakfast supplied a diverse and changing number of hot and cold, healthy options to start the day. The walking area in the back was perfect for exercising our dogs and ourselves. The beds were comfortable. The room was "roomy", and the bath great. The location was wonderful because you could get to Downtown Keene but reach surrounding places (Brattleboro, Springfield, Surry, Walpole) without going through the Downtown. One rainy night, when we did not want to venture out, we had Chinese food (Marco Polo) delivered to the room. We had enough food for two meals! The hotel was a short drive to Home Depot, Pennies, Aldi, Staples, and other businesses.

My daughter and I were on the college hunt. By the time I arrived at this hotel I was utterly exhausted. The staff was helpful and friendly, the check in process was easy and efficient. Pool was great, and complimentary breakfast was fantastic.

My wife and I rented 2 rooms for 2 nights to meet up with our son. When we checked in, we were pleasantly surprised to find the rooms were adjacent and connected. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Decent Wi-Fi. The rooms were very clean, and housekeeping refreshed the room nicely while we were out. The (free) breakfast buffet was EXCELLENT! Lori and Sharon obviously take their customer's care very seriously. Such variety! Scrambled eggs and breakfast meats, of course, plus lots of extras - fresh fruit, cereals, interesting toppings (like shredded coconut, sliced almonds, strawberry sauce, granola, chocolate chips...), waffle and pancake machines, fresh breads and yogurt, even a fresh chocolate bundt cake - this is not your ordinary breakfast buffet! The pool was clean and pleasant (a bit chilly for our taste), and the sun deck (courtyard) was very nice, with plenty of umbrella'd tables, chairs and loungers. The fitness center was small but adequate for our needs. Sadly, the onsite pub & restaurant were closed for renovation during our stay. We will certainly return to this hotel when we're in the Keene area!

I stayed at this hotel in 2013 and I had a pleasant experience, Unfortunately, this no longer holds true. My check in process was cumbersome because they not only didn't activate my keys properly, but they placed me by the ice machine when I expressly said I had driven 10 hours and needed a room that would be quiet. Consequently, I requested to change rooms at 10:00 PM since I could not sleep due to all the noise from the machine. The second room had very poor water pressure and a non working phone. So, I could not call the front desk. Guests in the hallways were very loud well past the hotel's quiet time policy so I ended up exhausted the next day for my work related meetings the next day. The hotel staff also double charged my credit card despite me already paying ahead for the room on Priceline. I am still waiting to have this additional charge removed from my credit card. Needless, to say I will never stay here again!

I would not stay at the Best Western Plus in Keene NH again. The bathroom door wont close all the way and had peeling paint on it. The toilet seat was broken and had peeling paint on it. The carpet was torn and tattered in the room. The ice machine outside our room was very loud and sounded like a refrigeration truck parked outside our room. The people checking in ahead of us were strung out on drugs. Not a nice place to bring your family.

This was a great hotel that we stayed at during a lacrosse tournament. I would be happy to return next year. They did require 2 night minimum stay, but the price was reasonable and the kids enjoyed the indoor pool

I would recommend this hotel , clean rooms , staff is nice but not very accommodating when trying to check in early , I had a afternoon wedding and wanted to check in around 1:00 and they would not guarantee or even try to accommodate me they said I could call to see if room was ready which was not much help since I was 21/2 hrs away and could not take a chance that the room would be ready

The Hotel room met expectations and the beds were comfortable. Due to many noisy, inconsiderate guests we got very little sleep - doors were banged and people yelling in the halls at 4am. Hotel restaurant was closed so there were no food options on site.

A good hotel but we were charged $200)+ per night (2 night min) as they were accommodating several children's sports teams. Having stayed at a few $200+ hotels, this one would not be of that quality. Excellent breakfast staff. No on-premise restaurant or bar.

Clean Hotel and our waiter in the restaurant was like a old friend. We were four people and each had a different dinner item and all four of us, to say the least,were impressed. The presentation was excellent and the food was delicious. If we are ever in this area again this Hotel will be the first one we stop at.

Verrrry nice accommodations! Great staff. Great breakfast. Price was a bit high as we were here for a wedding for one night, but was very satisfied all the same. One thing as an aside...do not smoke in the NON smoking rooms. Whether that be weed or butts because they will bust you and make you pay an extra $50 for doing so. Happened to someone in our party. They have you intial a box upon checking in statin so....so beware you potheads! Ha.

rooms were clean and large. bathroom needed updating--tub had paint chipping on floor. treadmills vibrate a lot and made it feel unsafe to run on it. breakfast was fine but there is not enough seating on the weekends.

Had a great visit to New England states and chose Best Western Plus in Keene as our base. Located close to the highway, good eating establishments and a very comfortable hotel this was an easy decision that really paid off. Better stated as "Bang for the Buck"!!

I booked the room at a rate of 179. They are billing me for 219.The restaurant was awful, we made reservations for 30. After 2.5 hours no food. Mgr. was combatitive. We were in town for a baseball tournament.

We recently stayed at this Best Western for one night. We very much enjoyed our stay and the staff was super accommodating. We were traveling with our dog, which always makes plans a little bit more complicated! The front desk was able to give us a room on the first floor, with a sliding door directly outside (how convenient!). They also gave us a "welcome gift" for the dog - some small bones, poo bags and paper towels. I really appreciated the gesture. The room was very clean and comfortable. My only minor complaint is that the room was a little bit small to accommodate all of the furniture - we moved stuff around and made it work for us. The breakfast was really great - lots of offerings, plenty of seating and very tidy as well. We will be back in September and look forward to staying again - their dog friendly policy, convenient location, clean & comfortable rooms and a good breakfast are everything we could ask for!

The hotel is centrally located, and only 5 minutes to the center of town. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and informative. The bed was amazing! and Great job by the cleaning staff! This was the cleanest hotel room I've ever been to. I will certain return to this hotel.

Hotel is okay, breakfast was great! Rooms need to be updated had a little funky smell. Allowed dogs which would be good for some. overall a nice hotel. location very good close to Keene collage. east to find. if need be i would book a room again.

Stayed here on April 21st with family. The hotel was kept very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful and had a great attitude. Several restaurant choices nearby in addition to the restaurant at the hotel. We are already booked for our return in a few months.

Hotel was clean and updated. Great staff, nice breakfast. Fitness center and pool were very big. Did not expect it. Didn't use the bar and restaurant but I'm sure that is good too. I would recommend this place to others.

The Lobby is gorgeous. The rooms average. The breakfast buffet is very good. The smoking wing is disgusting. If you are a smoker you will love it. Me, I am a severe Asthmatic and this was problematic. I was staying here while I was actually having asthma issues and I was having my house cleaned. I cannot be around when dust is getting kicked up. This is probably one of the last hotels to allow smoking. So, there you go. You have the perfect place to stay!

Stayed here as a stop over on our way to Boston. Very convenient to the highway and local stores etc. We used reward points so it was an even better value for us. No problem getting a reservation using points.

Room was clean and very quiet. Location was hard to get out of due to busy street your turning onto. Hard to find a parking place at night because customers at the restaurant were taking all of the parking slots.

Our room was showing a little age and the grounds outside were covered in cigarette butts and trash. Over all the hotel works for our weekend get-a-ways with our dog and the price/value is right. The staff at the front was friendly which is always a plus. With a little TLC this would be outstanding.

Desk management was not very personable. Carpet in room was torn and dingy. Common areas were clean and updated with exception of hallways; they were dark and dingy also. The pool was cloudy. Outside entrance areas reeked of cigarette smoke.

We always stay here when in town to visit relatives. This is a very clean hotel with a fantastic breakfast and pool. Friendly staff. Nice amenities such as cookies and coffee available in the lobby. Loved the make up remover wipes in the room!

The Keene Best Western is a nicely appointed older hotel, but the staff is world class! From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the folks are friendly and send the message that they take pride in their hotel and their work. We stayed at the Best Western on Thanksgiving Eve. We ate at Waxy O'Connors, the food was great, large portions and our waitress was the best. We had two adjoining rooms, that were clean and had good amenities. The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. My son forgot his toothbrush, the staff offered him a new one and asked if he needed anything else. Housekeeping staff was also very friendly and did a good job keeping the hotel clean. Each person we met Thanksgiving morning greeted us with a smile and said "Happy Thanksgiving" they did not appear to mind working on a holiday. We will stay here again at Christmas when visiting our son.

"Dirty bathroom"

The room was ok, the bathroom was gross. One of the beds looked like someone just rolled out of it. Ice machine outside of room was very loud and made it hard to sleep. Staff was pleasant. Their cleaning staff is obviously lazy.

Everything was very clean at this hotel. Even the laundry room was impeccably clean. Very happy with the overall appearance and cleanliness. Only downside was how far I was roomed from all of the amenities even though I booked 4 days in advance. Front desk was very helpful in allowing me an extra hour to check out after a very late previous evening out.

This to me was your stereotypical Best Western. Not a lot of frills, tired carpeting, friendly staff and mediocre breakfast. It got a Very good rating because the location is situated out of the downtown area, yet easy access to major highways in the area. Came here for a wedding and the other good thing about the hotel was the bar made for a good spot to gather after the ceremony was done.

Clean great people that work for you. Dale front desk and Sharon and Lori for breakfast. I will more than likely start staying at best western hotels in the future. Beds were comfortable and the shower and plenty of got water was great.

Clean and quiet room. Thermostat controlled room - no noisy wall unit. Polite and courteous front desk. Very nice breakfast - plenty to choose from. Free cookies definitely a nice touch! Recommend staying here.

Rooms were pretty comfortable and clean. Staff were great. Breakfast was good. Location was very convenient to Keene State. Despite being by highway, not too much road noise. BUT bring earplugs in case you have noisy neighbors. Room 202 has a view of the condenser--not very pretty!

This is my fourth time in Keene and with the Best Western Keene. As usual the staff was very nice and friendly, the restaurant was our go to spot each night and Mr. Patel the GM was there to greet us. Its personalized attention like this that keeps us coming back.

Hotel is located close to downtown Keene, which is full of local restaurants and stores! The room was exceptionally well maintained, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly, and helpful with directions, as well as recommendations on places to eat! Look forward to staying again!

We found this Best Western to be fine for our needs. It's a large, sprawling hotel designed for both regular guests and business meetings. Plenty of parking. If your room is in the back, it's a looong walk to the lobby and breakfast area. Our king bed room was large and clean, with a microwave, mini fridge, TV, and small coffeemaker in the room. There were an iron and ironing board in the closet. Bathroom was okay with a large counter and a hair dryer. Password protected wi-fi was good. Coffee and juices are available in a room off the lobby. If you're quick, you can run down and get some cookies in the afternoon. Copies of USA Today are available in the lobby in the morning. Breakfast had lots of choices - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, waffles (lots of toppings), yogurt, fruit, muffins, coffeecake, danish and cereals. It can get pretty crowded and they can run out of some items, but they do replenish. There are more tables in an overflow room across the hallway. I't's a college town so there are lots of students in the area. Be aware of the pedestrian crosswalks in town.

"Its not always whats on the outside that counts"

The lobby and associates were very nice. The place seemed up to date and clean. The rooms are not, very outdated, ice machine broken, spider webs in the sliding doors and bed bugs. I hate to give a bad review like this, because it can ruin reputations, but I don't want anyone else to get them. I woke up with 30+ bites on my upper body and we actually found one under the bed cover. Took a 1.5 weeks to hear back from GM and we were refunded our money, granted we found out the GM was out for a week 4 days after our visit, and HE was the only one that could take care of us, which is ridiculous. This type of experience definitely haunts you and makes us never want to stay at a hotel again.

My wife and I spent a Friday night in a king room. Check-in was easy. The room was clean, and quiet. The breakfast had enough variety. The bed was not quite as comfortable as I like, but not bad. The little couch/pullout wasn't very comfortable at all. And is the main reason I don't rate the hotel 5 stars. I sat there while watching a movie, and my back hurt by the time it was over. Overall though it was a pleasant stay.

Folks in NH do not respect hotel rooms that are non-smoking. Employees don't understand what it's like to try to breath in a room that had cigarette smoke in it then try to mask the odor/smoke with a spray that makes the matter worse!

Helen, Let me first apologize for the situation you had faced when staying with us. We take guest expectations and feedback very seriously to help improve the hotel. Unfortunately the smoking laws are very lenient in New Hampshire and they still allow things such as smoking rooms in hotels. Our hotel during this winter is going to be doing some guest room renovations, and with that we are eliminating the 10 smoking rooms we have. With that we will become a 100% smoke free property. At the same time designated smoking areas are going to be set so that no guests will have smoke smell coming from their air conditioning units. I apologize again and hope that you may give us another chance to provide you with superior customer service, the next time you travel to the area!

Ok, so it is just a hotel, it's not top notch, but it's not bad. It's clean, comfortable, quiet (in the right rooms), close to many things, including dining, should you not want to eat at the Irish Pub on site. We did eat at the pub, and it was fine, albeit a bit loud for our taste. I will say, I didn't know that the Irish were known for chicken wings or potato puff:)

This hotel has some nice features such as big rooms and lobby. Breakfast is ok but not enough change in variety and they run out of items. Also, laundry dryer time is way too short for what they charge and housekeeping was awful; forgot our room and didn't dust. Rooms near highway are noisy all night long.

We stayed 5 nights and the lobby is nice and spacious, the room is modern and clean with fridge and microwave but you are just off a major highway and road noise is continuous. Free breakfast is good but they run out of items if you go later rather than earlier. Laundromat is convenient but they give too little drying time for average load of wash and so you spend double of what you think you will spend. Housekeeping needs a lot of improvement--one day our room never got done, another day it was done after 3pm when we had left before 10am, and they never dusted anything in the room the whole 5 days. Toiletries are down-market that they provide in the bathroom. The price overall is quite a bit higher compared to Best Westerns not too far from Keene.

This is a very nice hotel. It has a nice restaurant attached if you do not want to leave the property. Lots of good restaurants close. Nice college town very clean and very nice area for fall colours. nice and close to the highway and nice open lobby. the breakfast is very good as it is a Best Western Plus so it has the upgraded food. Nice spot for sure.

"Pricey for what we got"

This hotel was completely revamped from the last time we were here nearly 20 years ago. It's okay, nothing special. The room was clean (the staff is excellent). One odd thing is that because the toilet has an elongated bowl, you can't open the bathroom door all the way; you have to step in and around it to shut the door. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price, and while I was happy with the french toast, nobody else in our party seemed overly pleased with the offerings. It certainly was not as nice as other places we've paid more to stay at. Won't stay here again.

The past 8 years, this hotel has had a major face lift and lots of construction to get it to the product you see today. We still continue to do more renovations to keep up with guest's needs nowadays. Unfortunately the toilets are something we have been battling for a few years now with new styles and sizes coming out. We hope that when the next guest rooms renovations are planned, we will be able to break up the concrete and move the drains back so that the door and toilets never touch. Our hotel is competitively priced with all of the other hotels in town and we are typically the 2nd to cheapest hotel in town. As the only full service hotel in town, we offer a lot more amenities that other hotels. But we understand your price point is a big deciding factor. The lobby was well designed and the front desk staff were efficient and helpful. The breakfast area had plenty of seating, and was probably the cleanest and best stocked one I have ever seen. The rooms were clean and well maintained, however, the bed was very soft, which doesn't help a bad back. There was a balcony which we were unable to use due to weather. Overall, a very nice stay. I would, strongly, recommend it.

I just checked into this hotel a little while ago. The staff was super friendly. It was my first time staying at a hotel with my dog and I worried about the room with knowing other dogs cats cats had stayed here before. "Nice, clean and convenient"

The location of the room is great. It is very easy to find and conveniently located near all the major roads in the area. When I walked into the hotel it smelled very nice. It was bright and very open. The front desk staff was wonderful. Every staff member I came in contact was very polite, professional, pleasant, friendly and smiling. The room had a bit of a funny smell to it that I could not place. But, that dissipated quickly. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable the pillows were plentiful. The bathroom was clean an spacious. The room had a refrigerator, microwave oven, alarm clock, iron & board, hair dryer and tv - all the usual. I did not use it but I believe there was free wi-fi and coffee available 24 hours a day, in the lobby along with a dispenser with ice water and, sometimes, cookies. The indoor heated pool looked nice, although, we did not use that either. They have conference rooms and a grand ballroom. Seems that have it all. I would stay there again. The only draw back was that the hallways smelled a bit as if they were trying to cover up an old smokey smell with that old fashioned hotel air freshener (that never ever smelled good). Breakfast was included and it was GREAT! They offer everything - eggs, make your own waffles and pancakes, cereal, yogurt, juice, etc. Anyway, it was a good place to stay.

My room was very clean, the staff was just great, breakfast was plentiful and delicious coffee in the lobby 24/7. I ate once in the restaurant and although I felt it was expensive for what I got, it was tasty. I did have a local pizza place deliver twice. A quiet and peaceful stay. I would stay again if in the area. Thank you!

"Excellent hotel close to college"

My family and I have stayed in this hotel three times so far, and each time we have been extremely pleased. We chose this hotel because it is close to Keene State College, is a reasonable price, and has the amenities we were looking for. There is an excellent restaurant and bar located right in the hotel, the indoor pool is clean and a decent size, and the gym was adequate for a hotel. The breakfast was very good, and there is a nice fireplace in the lobby with comfortable couches. The rooms were always clean and the beds were comfortable - can't ask for anything more. We will be back!

It was a nice clean hotel with very comfortable beds. Good TV. We had a wedding in nearby Walpole, NH and this was an easy in/easy out location without the traffic of nearby Keene. The free breakfast was good, my wife like the pancakes from the auto pancake maker and she is tough to please on pancakes. Pleny of available food and lots of variety.

This was our halfway pt from Camden Maine back home to Johnson Cuty NY. It was the perfect place to stay!!! Girls loved the big heated pool!!! Breakfast was excellent!!! My only complaint was that you can hear everything going on in the hallway!!

It's a BW...not a full Marriott or Hilton. $200 tax inc for what is essentially a motel. Staff friendly Wifi good TV small Beds lumpy Linen....ok...edge of replacement Bathrooms are tired....shower head pulls out of wall ...aging Why low flow on sink? A great place to stay. The room was spacious and clean had a couch to sit on and watch TV. The breakfast selection was excellent had anything you could want. The area was neat and clean with plenty of room. The attendant was constantly checking on the food to ensure there was plenty and the area was clean. Will stay there next time we are in the area

I checked in at five ish went to room. At first look the room looked very nice..we went to dinner and came back to shower. The bathroom was filthy, black hair in the tub, the was a goldfish cracker on the picture frame and hair. In the bed. When we came back from dinner the room was hot...after a while the air came on and then it was an ice cube. The housekeeping is horrible will never stay here again.

If you are in Keene for business or to visit your kids at the college, this hotel is right for you. The rooms are clean. The price is right. The hotel staff are very accommodating, and you have quick access to many businesses in the area. I will be staying there again.

Overall experience was very poor due to employee apathy, cleanliness, and inoperative plumbing. Unfortunately, they are the only place in the area to stay. The breakfast was acceptable which is the only redeeming quality.

We always stay at BW in Keene in N.H when we visit our son and his family and have done this for about 4 or 5 years. We are comfortable there, the people are friendly and we think the price is decent.

Might be the best choice for the area because of it's amenities but I think a little pricey for what it is. They have been making a lot of improvements over the past several years so this could be why prices are a little high but I feel compared to other hotels in the area that the prices are to high for what type of hotel that it is.

Great place to stay the friendliest staff ever top to bottom. Waxy O'Connors is a great place to eat and relax.Ask for Kat to be your server.Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone traveling this area.

"Needs to be a non-smoking hotel"

This hotel is in a great location. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to stay here again, but only if it becomes a smoke free facility. They have non-smoking rooms, but the common areas and hallways have a very strong stale cigarette smell. The free breakfast was a very nice plus. I would give the Best Western Plus a better rating if the smoking wasn't such a big issue for us.

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel with several other people, for a golf weekend. The room was great, roomy and clean! Our hairdryer didn't work, and I reported this to the front desk as I went into the restaurant for dinner with friends. The hotel staff along with maintainence , came and sought me out and explained that they left a hairdryer on the counter for me, and that they apologized for any inconvenience. I felt they went above and beyond to make sure my hotel stay was very pleasant. Also the rooms were exceptionally quiet. We couldn't hear one door close or toilet flush.

I thought the beds were great and so soft. I slept so well. My husband thought the bed was hard and uncomfortable. So everyone is just different. The hotel itself is fine. I was glad we were far from the pub because it was a bit rowdy. When I pay on-line I never appreciate an additional deposit upon check-in, which I had to pay here. The hold on my credit card cleared, though, so no complaints of overcharging. It was quiet, I slept great, the hotel was clean and the room was really comfortable.

When we walked in, the lobby was very inviting and the woman checking us in was very friendly and gave us good information for things to do in the area. Our room was off putting at first glance. Seems dark because of dark furnishings and carpet and the carpet was damaged, BUT the room is clean and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable - I normally do not sleep well in hotels, but I have slept like a baby two nights in a row! Room is quiet. We feel very safe here. Our car being parked just outside our room (but our room opens to the inside of the building) Breakfast is very nice with many options, including GLUTEN FREE ones!!! We would stay here again if we find ourselves in Keene again.

Stayed here one night and it was a good value for the money. Full breakfast in the morning was plenty and fresh and the hotel was clean. Only 1 hour to the Merrimack outlets and centrally located within Keene.

After finding a bed and breakfast we had planned to stay at not up to our standards, this hotel was a great place to stay! The staff are friendly, rooms are quiet (we were very close to the lobby, fitness center, and laundry), and the many options for breakfast were delicious!

Convenient to travel routes and city of Keene this hotel is clean and well run. Priced competitively it features the amenities you will need. Breakfasts are complimentary and kept well stocked yet fresh. Staff is friendly. Rooms are comfortable. My preferance is the rooms in the high 160's to 170's away from the lobby and restaurant. Ample free parking is available with controlled entrances convenient to room locations.

Every weekend our hotel sells out and we have a night manager who stays until 2 AM for the reason to walk around the property to ensure quiet hours are enforced and everything is in good order. I rate this hotel very good or better than average due to the large bathroom, large work station and plenty of electrical outlets where you need them. Rooms are a bit small but work well, they are nicely furnished and the place was quiet and clean. There is an attached restaurant but I did not use it. The free breakfast was good consistent with these types of hotels. There was nothing special about this hotel but it was clean, functional, had good work space, was quiet and everything worked.

Recently stay over in Keene to ride the Ashuelot River Bike Trail and hike Mt. Monadnock. Room was clean, fridge didn't seem to work, had a microwave also. (Didn't use) One side of hall was smoking the other non smoking but in the hall you could smell stale smoke air. Maybe try no smoking rooms and smokers can go outside. Grounds were maintained. Plenty of dogs! Right off of route 101 east bound, handy. Breakfast had a nice variety, quick and easy. Seemed to accommodate state road workers that night. Some one must have set the next rooms alarm clock cause it kept going off for an hour! Didn't use the pool, but had stay one other time and it was nice.

Stay here every year for golf trip. Lot of renovations over the years. Smallish but clean rooms. Restaurant food just average. Breakfast, decent, continental plus. Friendly staff. Nice bar in restaurant. Heated indoor pool is nice.

Room was a decent size, clean and tidy. We did like that there was a sliding glass door to go outside of our room. Made taking our dog out alot easier! Staff was friendly and even checked in with us once we got to our room to make sure everything looked ok. Overall good experience.

Got there around 4pm and was greeted by delicious warm cookies. Registration staff very friendly. Rooms comfortable and clean. The room for the indoor pool was too warm to make the pool tempting. Dinner with drinks at Waxy's was delicious and not expensive. Breakfast was well above average and staff were very friendly. We like to walk a bit and there is really no good walking easily accessible.

Arrived late one evening at last minute and staff was very helpful. The hotel was clean and well-kept. It had an indoor pool and free breakfast in the morning. Access to the rooms was easy with multiple entrances. Beautiful little town and nice place to stay that is convenient to downtown area.

Not a bad stay. Wasn't the cleanest, wasn't that modern, but it was "comfortable ". Nice restaurant and lounge on site. Large outdoor sitting area! Nice kept pool area. I slept really nice. Wasnt very loud even being close to heavy traffic. I would go again.

I came here with my son for a baseball tournament. The hotel was convenient to the athletic fields, not far from the highway. It is very well maintained. As a budget hotel, I thought I got much better value for my money than at some more expensive places. Every member of the staff has been very friendly. Public spaces and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Although it had lots of high school athletes, the room was very comfortable. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

"Annual bike week trip"

Been coming to this hotel for 6 years now and I won't ever stop coming. Fantastic staff, service, rooms and amenities. They offer me and the guys a wash station for our bikes, towels and even kick plates for out kick stands. But it's the general manager that keeps us coming every year. He takes us for a ride every year on the back roads and even joins us for dinner 1 of the nights we stay. I don't think we ever have a conversation for less than a half hour at the least. Mr. Mayur Patel, the guys and I thank you for all you do for us and the fantastic job you do with your hotel. We will see you next year!

Great place, quiet, and the Irish pub inside the hotel serves great food. Breakfast comes with overnight stay, and it was great also. Service was speedy. Excellent place rest with plenty of things to do. Beds were comfortable and no door banging like I hear in other hotels.

Stayed in a non smoking room with one king size bed. Room was nice size and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. All of the staff are friendly and courteous. We have stayed here a couple of times and will continue to do so each time we visit Keene.

We were offered a deluxe room. It was spacious and clean. We were pleased to find a restaurant, Waxy O'Connor's, in the building so we didn't have to leave the premises for dinner. The mattress was a bit too soft, but otherwise the room was perfect.

"OK Common Areas, Terrible Room"

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for one night recently and had a truly deplorable room. All the other hotels in the area were completely booked. For this reason, we paid a hefty premium for our room. I assume that the hotel was super full and they gave us a room that is not normally in rotation because it was just terrible. The carpet was ripped in several places. The wallpaper had a big peeling patch and stains all over. There were dog nose prints all over the sliding glass door and the blackout panel had been punctured (by dog claws?) so many times, there was light bleeding through everywhere. The wood was rotted so badly around the door that we were afraid to use it - fearing it might just fall out. The upholstered chair in the room smelled like a sewer. (Maybe a dog accident?) The mattresses were very old and uncomfortable. The worst thing was that there was perfume added to the A/C unit. Probably to cover the bad smells in the room. Every time the A/C cycled on, we would all be sneezing. The front desk clerk spent forever with each guest talking about herself!! She was a very nice person, but there was a line. She should have been working to get people through the line as quickly as possible. When we were assigned a room with a slider to the parking lot, I told her that this made me uncomfortable and asked for another room location. The clerk told me that the hotel was one story and that every room had a slider to the parking area. When we drove around to the back where the rooms were located, it was a two-story hotel. Did she think we wouldn't notice? The rooms were not sound-proofed and it was loud. A nearby guest started his rattle-trap truck in the parking lot directly outside our room at 5am, but did not depart until 5:30. We were all awoken and could not go back to sleep. Be advised that the room description says that it has a private patio area. Instead there was 18-24" of stones outside the slider with no outdoor furniture anyway. The common areas of the hotel were fine. The breakfast was a typical chain hotel breakfast. The bathroom and entry were clean and had been updated, but the rest of the room was truly awful.

As I mentioned in my email to you, unfortunately Expedia does not represent our hotel in any form. They advertise rooms so that you may book through them so they make a commission. That is why they state we have private patios for each room but in actually we do not have any like that on the property. I hope that you may give us another chance to prove to you that we have a great hotel, as you can see by reading the reviews on our TripAdvisor page.

Not so long ago we were at the Best-Western in Keene and made a little detour to be at this hotel again and again we were very impressed.Hotel is great,beautiful,an incredible breakfast,pool-water at 90 F.,good workout room and the newspapers in the morning.Twice we had a very nice room and we could check-in early.Staff is very professional and helpful.

When you plan a trip to Keene and you want great value and a comfortable place to stay, you can't beat the Best Western. Keene is a great place to visit, close to Vermont and it offers a great environment for both families and singles. Downtown has a great variety of shopping and restaurants.

"An Upscale Road Motel"

Stayed at this motel while in Keene for business. All other options were booked due to a college function. The entrance of the motel that entered the building my room was situated in had a bunch of bikers camped out by it. Nice people but it was a bit of the typical motel clientele. The room was spacious and comfortable, definitely a motel that was being dressed up so a higher rate could be charged. The entrance to the floor was linoleum. The bed was comfortable, but soft. Bathroom accoutrements were average quality. The front desk staff were polite, but not as polished as you would have at a more upscale property. In a pinch not a bad place to stay, but don't arrive thinking this is a hotel.

I am a frequent business guest at this hotel. I stay 3-5 nights each time. The location is very convenient but over the years Keene has grown and the highway is now noisy and the traffic exiting the hotel is dangerous.The rooms are clean, upgraded and the service is great.

Hotel was very reasonably priced and had what we needed. It was in the right area also. Bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast had several choices to please just about everyone. Pool was heated which helped with the relaxation after driving.

I have always found Best Western hotels to be good, this one included. I can definitely recommend the restaurant (Waxy O'Connors) but be aware the helpings are NOT small - grin! nontheless the food was excellent!

Outside of a glitch checking in, where they only had one reservation, when we made two, this place is the best place to stay in Keene. We come up every spring, on a golfing excursion and stay here, Why? Well, It has value (reasonable cost per night), absolutely great beds, ample size rooms, a pool, lounge area inside and out, including a gazebo, workout room and a breakfast that is an enhanced continental breakfast. Restaurants across the street and less than 8 minutes to central square. Everything you would want ... so why go anywhere else.

"Cold, drafty, run-down room"

We had a lousy room in the dog-friendly wing of the hotel. The room was run-down with holes in the carpets and scratched walls. The windows were filthy with previous dog nose prints. We were charged a $20 a day pet charge up to a $100 per week maximum for a long term stay. They obviously pocket this money and do nothing extra with it as far as de-dogging the rooms after guests leave. We were also "guaranteed" a reduction on this $20 a day dog charge by reservations personnel after a simple post-check-in chat with a manager. When this was attempted, the manager said the reduction was the $100 per week maximum. Nothing more was forthcoming. The room was cold and drafty. We had the misfortune for our stay to coincide with the coldest winter weather and the room was cold before that. We had to remain on the beds to keep warm. With the heat cranked up, the bottom two feet above the floor were frigid. The shower would not provide enough hot water for both of us to bathe one after the other. When we complained to the front desk, the maintenance guy who arrived said that management had directed the water temperature reduction but that he had had so many complaints that he had turned the temp back up. Luckily this worked and it stayed that way for the remainder of our stay. The only highlight of this place is the attached but unaffiliated Waxy OConnors restaurant and the helpful front line staff of the hotel. We got out of here as quickly as we could find another pet-friendly hotel in the area. If you have dog, stay away from this place..

The pet fee is set by Best Western International for all properties that are pet friendly as $20 a day with a $100 maximum a week. It is something we have done for a number of years now, and with your 9 night stay we did only charge you $140 for 7 nights and 2 nights were without charge as per policy. When pet friendly rooms are cleaned we change out all linen regardless if they were used or not, filters in the room and bathroom get cleaned, carpet is shampooed or treated with an odor eliminating powder dependent on the length of stay. We take the time to clean those rooms even more thoroughly because of pet allergens. Please consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with superior service. The hotel is okay for a night. The room was clean. It was close to Keene, but not really walkable because it is on the other side of the highway. Walking across the traffic circle and through the shopping plazas on the other side to get to the town or college looked like you'd be taking yout life in your hands. I am particularly annoyed by the hold placed on my checking account for the price of the room. It is my checking account and I need to have access to the funds. I prepaid for the room and they put the hold there for incidentals. But 3 days after check out it is still there. I used no incidentals.

This is the third time we've stayed at this hotel and it is our go-to hotel in Keene. The renovations that were ongoing during our last visit (two years ago) are done and the place looks fantastic! As for the rooms, they are basic but they are clean, neat (looks like the bathroom floors have been retiled since we last visited), include a microwave and fridge, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is included - it's a basic self-service buffet style, and had everything from pancakes and waffles to cereals (hot and cold) to eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt...you get the idea! 24 hour free coffee bar. Wi-Fi is also free for guests. Relatively quiet, though we could hear toilets flushing in nearby rooms and showers being turned on in the mornings (something we didn't have an issue with on previous stays). The hotel is a 5 minute drive from downtown Keene, and is near several shopping areas - there's a WalMart and a RiteAide nearby for anything you might forget, and there's a Market Basket for snacks and groceries nearby. NH State Liquor Store within driving distance. Lots of restaurants near the hotel, as well as in Downtown Keene. There is also a restaurant/pub on the hotel premises. One final thing. Staff is extremely friendly, so much so that we noticed it. Reception clerk graciously agreed to change our original room assignment when we noticed the one we had been given was next to the guest laundry area and we were worried there might be noise. And the cleaners always said good morning each day when we saw them, as did the person who was taking care of the breakfast buffet area. As I've said, this is my go-to hotel for Keene and I wouldn't think of staying anyplace else when we go there! Comfy, conveniently located, and good bang for the buck (hint, if you have a AAA card, ask for the AAA rate, it'll save you some $$$)!

The room was comfortable and clean; quiet as well. Great complimentary breakfast. I particularly liked the sausage and eggs. Very satisfying after a workout; the fitness room had choices of equipment and both towels and filtered water were supplied. Easy access to highways.

Great area of the world. Very nice hotel and great staff. If you are in the area this is the place to stay. Close to the highways and also close to the downtown area. Very good restaurant in the hotel and just down the street Jim's Eddies and also excellent.

Room was clean an quiet. One night stay passing through town. They have a free breakfast which we did not partake in. Upper floor away from elevator is worth asking for to cut down on hallway traffic and noise.

We needed a place to stay while visiting family nearby. This hotel really fit the bill. Initially we wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast. This wasn't available, so we chose the Best Western in Keene, NH. We were impressed with the value. The breakfast was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. We liked it so much that we booked another stay.

This hotel was just right for our one night stay recently in Keene, NH. Room/bathroom were fairly clean but furniture/furnishings definitely could be updated/freshened up, looked worn and tired. Fold out couch support frame was broken (though we didn't need to use it). Bathroom was small,when door was open, it blocked the bathtub/shower. Toiletries were sparse/low quality. For $152.00 (all in), good value for very short overnight stay.

The lobby and sitting areas have obviously been updated since my last stay some 9 years ago. Unfortunately the rooms have not been improved to the same degree. The room facing the road has limited muffling to trucks and general road traffic. The bed was fair, the bathroom was definitely tight. The door opened within 4 inches of the toilet. Room ac worked well but very noisy. The complementary breakfast was fair, similar set up to the bigger brands, but the quality of the food was fair at best. There was variety and the staff was very pleasant and kept a watchful eye to make sure the are was clean and food filled. Basic room for a reasonable rate.

My daughter goes to college near the hotel. Every time I am up in the area I try to stay at the Best Western. The last time they were booked and had to stay elsewhere, we were very disappointed. I am trying to book my stay's as early as possible so that I can stay at this hotel. The breakfast is nothing special but the accommodations and staff and fantastic.

I thought the check in experience was good and the room was clean and good sized for the price. The only thing I disliked was the noise outside the room, in the hall. I was not able to sleep well due to the constant door slamming noises. We had a room by an entrance/exit door to the parking lot which made it worse thank if the room was farther away from the door.

When we visit family in the Keene area we have stayed here several times and have not been disappointed. Priced reasonably for a college town. Close to downtown and college yet far enough away to be quiet. Rooms spacious and clean. Breakfast choices are ample except no bacon on Saturday or Sunday mornings. I recommend this as a great place to stay.

I've stayed here and always look forward to returning. This hotel is well kept, and the recent renovations did everyone a favor. The beds are comfortable, there are fans in the bathrooms, and staff are majorly polite and competent. Not much else I could ask from a hotel. Oh, and the location is convenient to both downtown Keene as well as Brattleboro.

Standard Best Western – clean, fully equipped, good breakfast. Plenty of parking, and hotel is just a few miles from downtown. There are a few smoking rooms, which is quite a treat for those of us who usually huddle near a door.

My husband and I have stayed here before and are never disappointed! The hotel is newly updated and the staff is most accommodating. We had many questions for the front desk and the were so helpful- giving us recommendations and directions. The hotel is conveniently located very close to everything. Wow. I thought it was nice before, really nice now. From the front desk staff, to the housekeeping staff, to the service staff in both the restaurant and breakfast room, everyone was so friendly, always greeted with a smile and a hello. Rooms were great. We ate at the restaurant during happy hour , food and service was great, nice selection of wines. The pool was warm. Hot fresh made coffee at all times. The free breakfast was fantastic. Believe me, my mother is fussy and she raved about it. Nice selection of both hot and cold foods. I can't wait to stay there again. Not too far from lots of stores.

It was a nice place to stay. Booked on Priceline for a reasonable price. Seemed a little expensive for a Tuesday night. I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities and the pool. This made the price seem less expensive. Good for business, or for family. Might want something nicer if you're going on a romantic get away.

Now this is really a B.W.Plus hotel.Well situated, close to downtown and shopping.We got an upgrade and what a beautiful room it was:king _size bed,big_screen T.V.,fridge,coffee-maker...A really warm swimming pool and a very nice work-out room.Breakfast was another surprise;a lot of special items:strawberrys and almonds for your yougurt,brocoli for your eggs and sausage......Excellent.A restaurant on the premises...also very good.We will be back....

Second stay at the Best Western Plus hotel in Keene - we make an annual trip to visit friends and get together to watch a band at Waxys (which is attached to the hotel). The room was clean, pet friendly - which is helpful (except some people don't clean up after their pets outside), sliding glass door access to outside is convenient. Our TV stopped working during the night, but it was on in the morning - got a great response from the hotel. For the amount of people staying at the hotel - it was quiet. Didn't make breakfast, but heard it was the normal selection for hotel breakfast.

This hotel had everything I needed. Waxy's bar and restaurant is excellent but make reservations. The help was very nice and the services all made for a completely relaxing stay. Everything I needed was well within reach. This hotel has an excellent family feel to it but is just right for business or romancing.

Friendly helpful staff renovated within the past three years. nice comfortable rooms. Wouldn't consider any other hotel when in the Keene New Hampshire area. My wife and I stay here every year with a large group for a bowling tournament. They treat us like family and we an't wait to go back every year. Hotel was clean, staffed and well lit at night. I just wish there were more healthy options for breakfast. It is very pet friendly, but I did suggest they put out poles with poop bags as I did bring my own but obviously some did not. Otherwise this hotel is great and will be back

My first review of this location complained about the front desk staff. I've been back a couple of times since and the desk staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The location is centrally located for Keene State College parents. I highly recommend this hotel.

Come to The Best Western in Keene and you do not have to pay the plane fare to Ireland. Absorb the culture via Waxy O'Connors the attached Pub and restaurant. they have everything to whet your appetite and you can safely walk down the hallway to economical and first rate accommadations.

Check in was a breeze with a courteous staff member explaining the set up of the hotel and what it had to offer. The room was big, very clean and well equipped. The bed was comfy and the room itself was pleasing to the eyes. The exercise room was excellent. The pool was large and clean. I will definitely stay here on my next business trip.

I rented a room to use the Internet for business, it went down so many times I had to get off the session. Management did not address any problems when I checked out. Will not use this hotel for business again.

I was disappointed, as the front desk was only staffed with one person at 5PM on a Friday night, took 20 minutes to check in, not the front desk person's fault, there was a crowd. Then, the hall way to the room smelled of smoke, so, my allergies flared up, and the room had a slight hint of cigarette smoke as well. Other wings of the hotel did not smell of smoke, felt like we were in the smoking area of hotel, and had requested non-smoking, did not complain, as did not have time to switch rooms as we were going out, and only spending one night. However, likely would not stay again, because, when you request non-smoking, that is what you should get, unless, it isn't available, and in that case you should be informed that smoking has occurred in that room, prior to checking into the room.

the staff was awesome, the only bad part was the swimming pool area there were glops of hair everywhere.The restaurant food was not great, no dressing on ceaser salad, the steak sandwich was tough and the roll was partial burnt.

Was a great hotel and reasonably priced. The breakfast was great and included. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was modern and clean. It had shopping nearby and was close to downtown Keene.

My husband and I were in Keene, looking to play poker and found that this hotel had not only a TERRIFIC Irish pub inside but a poker room as well! The price was very reasonable at $89 ($99 at the front desk) and as someone who used to work at a 4 Points by Sheraton Hotel, I was more than impressed! Fresh soft cookies were offered at the front desk, staff was more than friendly, even let me borrow a wine opener when we realized we had no way to open it (whoops!). Room was very clean & tidy, the bed was so unbelievably comfortable and there were plenty of plush pillows (which I personally love!). The shower was terrific & after unpacking I realized I forgot my shower supplies and have to say I was more than impressed with the shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lotion! In my experiences in hotels they're watered down items that are usually not worth the bottle they're in but these were different! They actually worked & were very good quality which may be a small thing to most but I was impressed! The complimentary breakfast was great! Wide variety of fruit, yogurt, cerael, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, cheese omelets and more... It was more than satisfying! Overall this stay has definitely turned my husband and I into Best Western fans! ***The only thing that I can criticize is the tv. It took forever to change from one to the next and we couldn't find a menu to see what was on so it took forever to find something to watch. To me this is a small thing because tv is not why we had a couples getaway, just something I'd mention is all.

The room is great .I have been staying here for the last 8 years. Ihave been able to watch them update the proper.ty. And am very pleased to see such great effort made. The only problem i have to say was the blond female asst manager was very rude. She seemed put off to acually do something. But the lovely woman working with her was great.

We stayed here for two nights over Valentine's and President's day. The hotel was very and the front desk was more than happy to help with any of our requests. The cleaning crew was awesome as our room was always very clean and put back to gather when we came back. The breakfast was wonderful and had scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage links, all sorts of breads to toast, muffins, bagels, make your own Belgium waffles and pancakes and a large assortment of cereals and fresh fruits. Will definitely come back and tell others about them.

This hotel has smoking rooms right near the non smoking ones on second floor. The smell was there as we got off elevator. I wasn't aware of that when I booked it. The hotel itself was fine, breakfast was average, but the breakfast crew was outstanding. The kids that were there this weekend were running around the hallways at 1 am, not pleased that this was allowed. Rooms were clean, housekeeping was polite and worked hard. HBO was listed, but hotel said it wasn't working. We stayed 3 days and it never worked. Pool was very warm, clean, and large. Overall it was worth the money we paid. The restaurant downstairs was convenient and good to grab food to have in your room, menu is on small side.

Nice hotel, extremely well kept and clean, very friendly staff, excellent full breakast venue for the business traveler as well as for a family travelling with children. I felt very welcomed in the breakfast lounge each morning with the staff there. All of the ladies were helpful and courteous. Deb, Sharron and Lori provided an excellent assortment of items each morning. I found myself wondering each morning how nice it was to find a great variety of fresh and cooked foods.

Always the first place I consider when in the Keene, NH region! The place is clean, the staff attentive and always willing to respond to all questions right away. Whenever I am in the region, this is the only place that I want to stay. They are extremely friendly. Rooms are comfy and make the experience a good one. It was my first time traveling alone and the staff was so helpful and kind. I felt very comfortable in my room which was very clean and the bed was so comfy. Lori, Sharon and Debbie from the staff for breakfast buffet were so nice to chat with and share a few laughs. The food was delicious as well as very good coffee.. Thank you for making my trip away from home so nice. The hotel is beautiful, and I also enjoyed use of the gym.

We just want to thank everyone for making us feel so at home. It is one of those great experience that you will remember. We did not expect much when we booked our rooms we just wanted a hotel that allowed dogs to stay. What a nice surprise. We also wanted to Lori, Sharon and Debbie for their wonderful work. The stay at this Best Western is always plesant and restful. The stff are more than willing to accomodate any need and provide whatever is needed to make our stay comortable. We dive 45 minutes out of our way for business in the area and commute to this particular Best Western Hotel due to the pleasant and upgraded appearacne and repeated postive experiences.

We have been staying at this hotel for years and the last 2 visits we have had problems with dirty rooms. This stay there was broken glass on the bathroom floor. Housekeeping just made the bed and left towels, they did not empty trash or ashtray. Also never cleaned up the broken glass. Will not be staying at this hotel again.

"A place that makes the visit worth while"

I too have been to this location over the past 10 years and was very disheartened to read the up and down reviews of this very convenient and hard working location. Through the period of renovation, it seems that some reviewers may have not had the experience they expected but I wouldn't base their experience on your upcoming plans. This hotel is clean, willing to fix things they can fix as soon as possible and are really wanting your stay to be ideal. It is good for couples, families and single travelers. The rooms are comfortable, well stocked and with notes of wanting to please you if you are not pleased - take advantage of that. The heating system was quieter than most places that I have been at. The breakfast offerings are fresh and full of variety - pancakes and waffles, with burritos or sausage and gravy, plus cereal, fruit, yogart and bagels. A very nice variety for a non--restaurant based meal. The pool was immaculate, warm and inviting. Having the pub down the hall, I thought, was convenient and fun. I went on Priceline, got a great deal, had a great three day stay and would do it again.

I can't say enough good about the hotel & staff. My only issue was paying over $20 more per room than other members of our group because I booked locally rather than by the 800 number. I had to call the hotel directly because we had a pet with us (which was another $20 for the pet). I had no issue paying the pet fee but the base room rate was higher than my relatives' who had called the Best Western central number

Basic clean hotel with friendly staff. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the Keene area. We usually stay here most nights prior to skiing in Vermont. I haven't yet tried there restaurant because the kids usually like to eat in the center of Keene.

"extremely disappointed"

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 10 years. My family stays here several times a year when we come to visit family who live in the area. I have to say this is the first time I have been extremely disappointed in my stay. Upon Check In we were placed in the wrong room for which we booked. We were told that this was because we booked through a 3rd party website and that sometimes the reservation does not come through correctly. We were then advised that because we were staying 4 nights, the only room available to us was a 2nd floor room not accessible via elevator. After pleading that this was unacceptable, the front desk staff "upgraded" us to the deluxe room on the 1st floor. What we didn't know was that this room was not really deluxe at all. It was disgusting. We were exhausted from a 12 hour car ride and awoke on Thanksgiving morning to realize that the room was not clean (Food, beer bottle caps & pills found next to the night stand that my toddler found), the bed was broken, the pull out couch was broken and disgusting, the carpet was ripped, there were stains on the walls & there was MOLD all over the inside of one of the closets. I mentioned these things to the front desk upon check out only to be told that "sometimes there are issues when booking through 3rd parties" and that he would mention the MOLD to maintenance. I am not sure I will ever stay at this hotel ever again.

Stayed on a Friday night! My husbands band played at Waxy's the restaurant attached to the hotel. Clean, comfortable and quiet room. We were on the second floor with a balcony facing the highway. Room was pretty sound proof. Had Dinner at Waxy's and Continental breakfast in the hotel!

We have stayed here several time, solo on business, a weekend away with my wife, and several times with the family. The staff are friendly and inviting, the rooms are clean, the service is excellent. The few times we have had issues they have been promptly resolved. My kids love the pool!

Checked in around 4:15pm on Saturday 11/28. Didn't get the name of the clerk on duty-she seemed annoyed that she had to do something. Didn't greet me as a Rewards member. Didn't even mention that they couldn't fulfill my request for a first floor room. She did not make a good first impression. BUT the lobby was nicely done, the room large, clean and comfortable. Water pressure in shower was lacking, but breakfast was better than most. Selection was endless--hot oatmeal, bacon and eggs, pancakes AND waffles, fruit and cereal. Lots of tables and chairs. Despite check in I would stay here again.

This was our second stay here. Upon registering, always greeted by friendly staff. Got to room and sofabed was broken on front so you couldn't sit on it, bed would not pull out. Went to front desk and Wade quickly helped us by moving us to another room without hesitation. The next morning we went down to the breakfast and was greeted by Lori, she was very helpful and cheerful. You have a great staff there and always accomidating to us. See you in December for our next stay!

My family and I came to Keen e for the Pumpkin Festival. Not only were we amazed by all the pumpkins and pumpkin oriented things in town but we were amazed by the service that we receive by the staff at the Sovereign Hotel. Not only did we start a new family tradition by going to the festival we also started one by staying at the Best Western in Keene.

The changes and up grades were great. I have stayed here in the past and the reconstruction of the lobby is fantastic. Also have up dated their breakfast bar area and now have a 24 hour coffee bar. The staff was warm and friendly and will to help those of us who are handicapped and in wheel chairs and need assistance with loading and unloading our luggage/

Stayed two nights. Clean enough and a decent place to stay. Didn't use the pool or gym but it was nice that they were there. Didn't have hot water the second morning I was there. No big deal but it dropped the rating 1...dot? I'd stay again, no problem.

Really pleasant experience from start to finish. Comfortable lobby, room, bed. Everything in good repair. Kids loved the indoor pool. Restaurant was great for dinner. Good atmosphere, food and live music. Breakfast very good with a lot of variety and good quality. All the staff were friendly and professional. Great value for the area! Will plan to come back again and be a regular while visiting our daughter at school.

"Humiliating Hotel with Terrible Service"

Hotel staff gave my room number and name to a local Bar tender who was looking for two guys that ran out on a bill. Called our room at 1:00AM, twice, demanding we come down or they would call the cops. Fearing they might come down, I showed myself only to have the Bar tender say, Oh, its not this guy. They called another guy too, wasn't him either. Run from this place.

Best Western Plus is a great overnight stay. Bed was very comfortable, breakfast was plentiful and having a microwave and refrigerator in room was a definite perk. Room very quiet. While travelling for business or pleasure this is a definite stop over to get much needed R&R.

"Disgusting Motel"

We stayed here at the end of the summer while dropping our son off at a nearby college. The room was dirty and smelly and I didn't want to touch anything or sit on the furniture. When we came back to our room after the first day away, the door had not been shut after cleaning (I use that term lightly - the towels were changed and the bed was made), leaving all our belongings at risk of being stolen. We chose this motel because of the price, but it was still overpriced for what it was. Really disappointed since I thought we would be okay booking at a trusted chain.

"Mistaken IDENTITY"

Have stayed at this property multiple times over the past 4 yrs and have never had any problems with the accommodations , staff or services and amenities . However , on this stay , myself and a friend were awakened at 1:30 AM accused of walking out on a tab at the adjoining Rest/Pub and threatened with arrest if we did not immediately go to the lobby and pay the tab . I went to the lobby and was immediately recognized by the Rest staff as not being one of the offending parties . The following day the Gen Mgr communicated that he would comp. one nite of our stay for our inconvenience and upset. Upon checkout we learned that the GM had reneged on his offer and reduces one nites stay by 25% ;after we protested they reduced one nites stay by an additional 25% . This was an unfortunate and unnecessary incident that could easily be avoided with competent administrative direction and staff training . That being said the overall experience was what I have come to expect at this property-clean , comfortable rooms , nice amenities , friendly staff and a lively and fun Rest/Pub attached . Except for the whole falsely being accused of theft scenario and being threatened with arrest, we had a pleasant stay and I expect to stay again in the future . I'm fairly confident that the outrageous conduct of the staff will not be repeated .

"Keene, NH - Best Western Plus"

We only paid $89. for one night vs $189. we paid over the summer. The difference was significant. Over the summer the room was lovely, big bathroom, very clean. This past week-end we paid $89. and got $89. value. The bathroom was very small, had mold and the pull-out couch was filthy. If we stay again, we definitely will ask what we're paying for.

"Average Stay"

Staff was very warm, cheerful, welcoming and helpful. Needed an extra blanket and they promptly delivered it. Upon arrival, a card in which you could indicate your cleaning preferences to assist the housekeeping staff was in the room to fill out. Appreciated that, knowing that only the necessary cleaning would be done each day, instead of a full clean-up. Breakfast was varied: cheese omelet, sausage patties, cold cereal, waffles, assorted breads and pastries (the blueberry scones were delicious), apple sauce, assorted juices and teas, and coffee. A pleasant surprise was the Spanish breakfast omelet with assorted condiments; very tasty! The room on the first floor was noisy; I could hear people talking and walking by in the evenings. Water pressure was weak and toilet made a loud noise when flushing. (conservation efforts enacted by the hotel?) *Tip is not accepted by the maid each day, but rather on your departure day.

I stayed here on Halloween. The staff were extremely nice, and the irish pub next door was bumping! Fun times!! The hotel was very reasonably priced for its location. Breakfast had every single thing that a person could reasonably ask for.

Overall very nice, The indoor pool was perfect temperature for my kids. The rooms were very well maintained, and the beds were good compared to some hotels. Breakfast was very nice, the selection was varied and fresh.

"Not a good experience"

My experience with a lot of Best Western hotels tends to be disappointment, not always I grant you, but this was up there along with them. A dated sprawling two-story complex and an out and out “pit stop” hotel with limited facilities. It does have a light breakfast area off reception but little else although a Waxy O'Conner's restaurant adjoins the hotel. The room was clean and well serviced with all you need for a stay. However, the water supplies were appalling and with very few customers in the hotel, the hot water supply kept running out. Poor quality bathrooms and fittings add to the feeling of being “run down”. I hardly ever saw any staff around. The whole place lacks atmosphere and a welcoming comfort.

Hotel was very clean and up to date, staff was accommodating and friendly, pool area was clean and well maintained. The rooms were on the smaller side but otherwise well appointed, the beds were very comfortable!

While visiting the Keene area we stayed at this hotel once before for a couple of nights and were very pleased with the experience. Rooms large, well appointed and clean. Good assortment of breakfast foods though on this visit we left prior to breakfast. Staff very professional. If going to the Keene area this is a great place to stay.

A recently completed reception and eating area are very attractive and accommodating. The restaurant/pub (Waxy's) integrated with the motel has great food. Traffic can make it difficult to turn left (towards Keene) when exiting the premises but not a big deal. Have stayed here a handful of times and will continue to.

If you need to be in Keene, this hotel has everything you need for a stop along your journey. A pretty good breakfast is included. Self-service laundry, very nice room. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. Very nice people at the desk. I would recommend it.

"Clean, comfortable"

We were travelling throughout southern New Hampshire and Keene was a good stopping point. The hotel room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Price was reasonable. Pool was clean and warm. Fast internet. The hotel is right off the highway and our room looked out over a quiet courtyard so I don't know if there is any noise from the highway. Hotel is located reasonably close to downtown Keene which has many good restaurants. I've stayed at many Best Westerns and have always had a good experience.

6 covered bridges in 10 mile radius, easy to get lots of quality pictures. Close enough to easily tour NH and Vermont. We made it just in time for the fall colors and beat the first frost. Lots to see in Keene, many historical sites.

"Return visit - not so good as before."

Although the reception area has been renovated the bedrooms let this hotel down. Our room is best described as" tired", had a torn carpet and rust in the bathroom. Our fellow tour travellers said they had similar experiences. The on-site restaurant is now a very noisy Irish pub type operation which seemed to have attracted very loud drinkers, certainly not the place for a quiet meal. On the plus side the breakfast was OK and the WiFi was free. Everyone was glad this was just a one night stay on our tour.

Excellent hotel, the night staff was very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hiked the Monadnock mountain and did come back to stay at this hotel the next night. We strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.

"Mediocre Breakfast"

MacDonalds is only a short distance away for a better breakfast. The eggs defy description. The only constant might be the waffles.. The hotel itself is clean and the room was adequate. Our impression on leaving in the morning was of having paid too much for an average hotel stay.

Stayed Saturday during this past Columbus Day weekend. We only stayed one night because we were going up to Vermont the next day. This was the last room available at the time of booking. The location is great as it is right off the highway and write down the road from Main Street which is where Keene State College is located. Hot breakfast & 24 hr. coffee. Only criticism is the cost is a bit pricey. Nice hotel and convenient location. Would definitely stay good.

I have been at this hotel several times and have had a great experience. This time the sofa bed was stained and broken. The staff was apathetic and the restaurant was worse. Food took a long time, and was not cooked properly. Hoping that they fix the issues...

"Smoking Room Nightmare"

Time was of the essence. I reserved a same day room for my father-in-law via quick deals at Priceline. When the room came up I was surprised to see it was a smoking room. I called Priceline to cancel this and was informed that it could be cancelled but it required that the property manager would grant an exception. I waited on hold while Priceline contacted this Best Western. They returned and told me that the manager was "not available" 2 hours later and several tries the manager was still "not available". I called the motel my self and the desk clerk told me manager was "not available" This is a friday afternoon when managers are most certainly "available" I insisted that I wait on the phone or she would have to hang up on me. She did HANG UP on me. Other reviews reveal that this coward manager who had his clerk do his dirty work runs a poor Best western. They ended up confiscating my $177. I will continue to fight this nightmare operator until justice prevails

Great place! Friendly staff, very accomodating, clean rooms, super comfy beds and great breakfast buffet. Stayed there 3 times and never disappointed. ATTN: Management ... The beds were extremely comfortable, what brand/ style mattresses are in the rooms? Best sleep in a long time.

Great desk staff with comfy clean rooms. Bathroom hot water and pressure is outstanding. Free breakfast is good quality and plentiful with waffle / pancake maker, cereals, scrambled eggs and sausage, fresh fruits and yogurts.

I usually stay at another hotel in Keene. But this weekend there was no availability anywhere else except for a smoking room at Best Western. (I do not smoke). I took it out of desperation, it was Family day at my daughters college and I live 4 hours away. Everyone was fantastic. So impressed with the hotel from the parking, room cleanliness, friendliest staff and the breakfast was wonderful. We will be back !

"marathon"

we stayed here because my wife was running the Clarence DeMar marathon. The hotel was ok but as a host hotel for the marathon, they did not let us have the room until 2PM like most of the hotels recommended by the marathon organization. We had to check out at 11 AM. As I was not running, it was OK but I it would not have been fun to check out at 6 AM and run a marathon without a chance to take a shower after the race. Luckily the girl at the counter let my wife use the pool shower after the race.

We've negotiated a rate every year for the Clarence DeMar Marathon and we have always had the same check out time as all other guests. Great place to stay, especially if traveling with dogs. Lots of green space for walkies! Ask for a room in the new section. Friendly and helpful staff. Adjoining bar/restaurant with take-out but no room service.
