Quality hotel near the centre of town

The room was dusty, and it was a lot of noise from the street. Breakfast was ok, but not more than that. Bathroom very small and got wet all over when we used the shower. Great location, and welcoming personal. I think it was ok. We had great weather, so used the room for sleeping. Beds ok.

Great breakfast and comfortable room with a very professional staff that were accomodating to my needs. A lot of variety options for the breakfast, all in all standard as such but the setting is extra cozy and warm in such a lovely restaurant. My room was small and cheap but this was not my experience when I arrived. Well, the size was as advertised but the setting was exceptional with an incredibly comfortable bed and a huge pillow of superb quality. I also requested extra pillows and more blankets, though the room was warm enough upon arriving, I wanted that extra for my own comfort and the staff took care of it immediately without any fuss. It was one of the best hotel rooms I've had (and bed) and that's comparing it to rooms at the Harbour Hotel in Boston, MA & The Strip, in Vegas. The room was clean at arrival and (per request by sign) clean after night one to a high standard.

Rooms are quite large and the bed was fantastic. Internet worked like it should and good speed aswell. Only one small complaint, the breakfast is very basic and would be nice if they could add a personal touch to it.

Was pleased to spend 5 nights in one of the recently refurbished, modern rooms. By end of May all rooms will be overhauled so check them out; best value for money hotel in Karlstad in its category. Those who want to relax will be able to find classy entertainment in the in-house theater which offers versatile programs all over the year for all ages. If you fancy tapass try their famous Pichos restaurant.

Be aware, there is no free parking and it increased my expected bill by 30% a night! The lobby area and room was nicely decorated but with locust in the form of plenty of silverfish and the rooms where quite cold.

The location is the best in Karlstad. Parking facilities nearby, close to the city center, restaurants, pubs and major company offices. Plenty of nereby parking facilities. Breakfast is excellent and the hotel staff is extremely helpful and kind. Have been staying in this hotel at least 20 times in the last two years.

Not a luxurious hotel, but very cosy, in the middle to everything in Karlstad. The beds very comfortable and the room/bathroom ,clean, fresh and quiet. Breakfast with everything you need to be satisfied.The Scala Theatre is in the same building!

If you want to stay in a quiet clean modern room for not to much money you are right to stay at the Savoy, very interesting location! I loved it. The employees are very nice and friendly, very good service familiar feeling.

I'm in a bicycle trip around Europe, and I made a break in this hostel, wich is perfect. The room was really clean, and big enough. I had a window vue on the street, without a sound when I closed it to sleep. I will Say that the breakfast was one of the best I ever eat. There was everything you want and very tasty. I will let you see the pictures ! And last things, the personnal is awesome ! So smiling, welcoming, and well informed about the area. Don't be shy to ask for informations. My third stay at this hotel. I actually got the same room as last time (605). I had booked a budget room. They are equipped with a really tiny room, the clerk said, so he upgraded me to a regular single room (as they did the last time :-)) Very kind and helpful man in the reception. The room is ok, the bed comfy. Small bathroom with shower curtain. It was a hot weekend, and it became really hot in the room (end of May). It would've been nice with A/C. There's a parking house next door. If you check in before you park, you can pay for parking at the reception (easier than using the automat). It's SEK 150,-/24H. PS! It's more expensive on the lower floors! I parked on 4th. Nice and cozy restaurant next to the reception. Perfect location in the centre of Karlstad. If you bring a bicycle, you can keep it in a designated room on the 1st floor.

Hotel Savoy is situated in central Karlstad, right next to the town's main street. I've opted to stay there a few times while visiting Karlstad University, solely based on it being the cheapest hotel in town. I should mention that this review is written for the short-term visitor who needs a place to crash, rather than the traveler who's looking to enjoy the city. To summarize, I have two things I want to point out to anyone reading this. First of all, you don't get anything more than you pay for; the rooms are small and minimalistic - and not in the trendy way. You have basic facilities: TV, shower, bed. Other than that, not much else is to be expected. However, what brings me back is the wonderful breakfast, which is included in the price. A wide range of items is offered - everything from your typical Scandinavian, run-of-the-mill yoghurt and toast, to more of an English breakfast with bacon, eggs and pancakes. For me, this is more important than the actual rooms when on a business trip.

Good Service, Plain Room, Centrally Located, Inexpensive. In town for a hockey tournament. Friendly service at front desk. Room was TINY, 2nd floor and a bit dated. TV was fixed to the wall, not adjustable so watching was a problem. Shower had low pressure... but ok. Breakfast was standard (eggs, bread, meats). Was worth the low rate we paid.

The hotel is being extensively refurbished. I had some technical problems with my room (not yet refurbished) and was generously compensated when I voiced my concerns in the morning. No discussions, no hassle, just an immediate generous offer. Wonderful attitude! Wonderful! That's true customer service!

They've started renovating this hotel. It's due. There was an unflattering smell in the hallway outside my room (605). Not delicate. It's a shower curtain in the bathroom, which I find rather indelicate. I couldn't turn on the water in the shower. Eventually, I found there's a button on the shower head you need to push (and hold) to get water. This means you can only use one hand at a time showering. I tied a sock around the button to disable this ridiculous function. I didn't expect this in the year 2016, in Sweden... The bed was comfy and I had two nights of good sleep. There's a parking house next door, and the train station is just around the corner. In the same price segment as Savoy, you have Good morning Karlstad city (Ibis with a new name). This is a better hotel, but this weekend they were fully booked. If you're not too high maintenance, Savoy is an ok hotel, but don't expect "freshness" :-) I got two extra hours check out time. That's good service!
