A nice place to stay in Kanab Utah. The motel is clean and in good working order despite being dated. The staff are super friendly. Within in walking distance of shopping and restaurants. The vibe of the town is relaxed. Interesting history of early era cowboy films shot in the neighboring red hills on display in town too.
Dated room with a bit of a musty smell, but clean and we slept well. Seemed high priced for what you got, but I think everything in town is expensive (captive audience?). Bathroom large and clean. Breakfast with usual options, nothing special. Can highly recommend Sego restaurant - delicious food with lots of interesting flavors with a wide variety of options, and tasty cocktails. Be sure and make a reservation! It was easily walkable from the motel.
Very friendly workers, even sent an email saying that a woman would be there to answer any questions during my visit. Had pet free rooms! Reasonable rates, clean, and nice breakfast and an elevator to reach the upper level! Slept comfortably!!! I would recommend this hotel!!!
I was stranded on the highway on august 5th in n 100+ heat. I came in for refuge and the hotel front desk staff went above and beyond to help me get safe and they called a taxi for me and were so nice and helpful it would be disrespectful of me not to say THANK YOU. Please visit this hotel if you are in Zion area it had great access to many area parks and Knab is a cute town
We really love this hotel and how conveniently it is located in town. Our room was clean and spacious. The pool was clear and the hot tub worked. A few improvements could be made, of course including fixing the pool table that didn't work. I would also add a box of tissues to every room. The room downstairs where you eat breakfast is very hot. It was actually cooler outside than it was in the breakfast room breakfast was good though Did run out of juice both days we were there. The laundry facility was very handy. One dryer didn't work for me, but they refunded me at the front desk with no questions. Speaking of the front desk, they are so helpful and accommodating gave lots of information to help us find our way. Unfortunately, while we were there our son developed an ear infection. This is when we found the drugstore across the street. It's called Kanab drug. I have also seen it called Kanab united drug. A prescription was called in their hours are 9 AM to six. I'm glad we discovered this little gym because they also have food there that you can order and hand scooped ice cream. We ended up having ice cream there and they have outdoor seating on this cute little patio that has all kinds of games available for kids to play. If you were looking for a decent meal and a very reasonably priced adult beverage, go to the restaurant called Houston's Trail's End. It's just a short walk from the hotel. I will say that we wish that the pool would stay open later as we do a lot of exploring and 10 o'clock was just too early for us. When you've been hiking all day and have sore muscles it's nice to sit in that hot tub. they are diligent about kicking you out right at 10 o'clock Even if it's just a quiet couple sitting in the hot tub. they did have towels available at the pool, which was very nice. I would definitely stay again and hope that they would make a few improvements. I almost forgot about the wonderful ice machine and also the coffee that is available in the morning. I couldn't get enough of that coffee. It was so good.
Location: On the main drag on the north side of downtown. A half block from a cafe. An easy drive to other nearby restaurants and shops. Even though on the main road, there was no traffic noise. Hotel: An older property but well maintained. Outdoor pool, free breakfast, game room, fitness center, and business center. Modest lobby. In the main building the rooms open in a hallway. There are other buildings with rooms opening outside. There is an elevator from the parking lot to the second floor. The breakfast, fitness and game rooms are in the basement. Rooms: We had a king. Good size. Good mattress. Refer but no microwave. Furniture is older and a bit nicked. Only problem was that, in the morning, the toilet did not flush. The desk clerk gave us a key to another room to use the toilet. Price: A good price at about $138. Breakfast: Standard fare. No granola or cereal toppings. Scrambled eggs were well prepared. Fitness Center: One each of equipment. Not large but adequate. Business Center: Just off the lobby, not private. Other; Game room has an out of order pool table, pinball machine, air hockey and TV game set up.
This is a very charming property. The photo doesn't do it justice. There are quite a few buildings. The outside pool area is really nice with a covered area to sit and barbeque or just relax at. The Jacuzzi is separate but next to the pool. The pool area is fenced. They have a separate area for ice machines and snacks. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything you need: desk area, refrigerator with a freezer section, separate bathroom with a shower over the tub, large king bed. Even a small outside balcony. The breakfast is served in a subterranean area which is huge! It can also serve as a meeting area. Large area for the food, huge dining room, a large game room adjacent but separate with a pool table ping pong table and foosball. There are large glass windows so you don't feel penned in. A very nice workout area, also has a glass window so you don't feel closed in. This whole area is really nice. The main building had an elevator which was a surprise as the building is only 2 stories high. There was a microwave on a table in a large foyer type area near the elevator as there isn't one in the rooms. I stay in a lot of Best Westerns, and this was one of the nicest! I would definitely recommend a stay.
Great place if you're travelling with pets. The pet relief area is well kept and close to the 'pet friendly' part of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast is pretty good, just don't expect any variety if you're staying for a few days. The mattresses are okay. They're not the most comfortable but we slept well enough. Other than that, it's clean and quiet, and the staff are wonderful.
The staff was wonderful. The property was within walking distance of good restaurants downtown. The pool and hot tub were very clean and a welcome respite! The property is a bit dated and due for an upgrade. Overall great stay!
The best western was clean. The a.c. in our room did not work the best. Housekeeping only cleans your room if you ask for it to be done. The staff was friendly. The outdoor pool and hot tub was perfect after a day of exploring. I would stay here again.
We loved our stay in Kanab on our way to Zion. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful, gave us a map.of town, and recommendations for the best places to eat. We enjoyed a nice evening by the pool with drinks and even hit the spa to relax. Breakfast was good for a hotel. For the price, it was great stopping point on our trip. Don't expect the Hilton, this is a Best Western. But we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
Stayed here for two nights. Great location in the town. Nice breakfast offerings and a large area to have it in. Staff were friendly enough. Dropped a star given there is no in room servicing between days. I'm not sure why they don't when you're paying the same amount for both nights?
We chose this hotel as a good stopping point on our way to the Grand Canyon. It was a very nice hotel that had a great selection of food on their breakfast buffet. They also had a whirlpool which was open, but the pool was not. We didn't use them, but they looked like they were in good condition, it was about half the price of a hotel that was just a little bit closer to the Grand Canyon. So I'm glad that we stayed where we did. The area was nice, it had a few gift shops and a nice assortment of restaurants to choose from I would definitely stay here if I would be in that area.
We used this as our base for Bryce Canyon, Zion, Pipe Springs and Grand Canyon. Location was ideal. Hotel was a good, comfortable stay, but our room had poor wifi.
This hotel was awesome! The room was real nice including the 2nd floor corridor with lovely furniture decor. The breakfast was outstanding with a huge variety of choices. The breakfast was on the lower level which we used the stairs; although, the elevator is nearby outside for everyone's usage. Staff was pleasant. Also, walked to nearby Goff's BBQ which was VERY delicious.
Nice location to stay. Carpeting in a room needs to be shampooed every year. So much foot traffic stains/dirt embedded that is very obvious to notice. Mgmt needs be proactive to shampoo the room carpeting annually or as needed to promote better positive rating.
Perfect economical hotel. Room spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous and many food choices. We couldn't have picked a better hotel for the price and service. I would definitely go back again. Located right in the heart of town and convenient to shops and restaurants.
Wonderful location. Within walking distance to great restaurants. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and hot and delicious. Room was very clean. Great hot shower.
We appreciated the warmth and friendliness in which we were greeted by the staff. The entrance was charming, and it was nice to be off the courtyard. The rooms were immaculately clean and comfortable and spacious. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were quiet. The hotel entrance, lobby and hallways were clean. The breakfast was fine. It was best western breakfast. Everything was hot and there was plenty available. This was a very enjoyable stay at your facility. We would stay here again.
We were just passing through on a longer trip, but happened to stay during an off-season and got an AMAZING rate. The room was very nice, had everything we could have asked for, and the hotel was quiet. The pool was closed for the season but the outdoor hot tub was open and very pleasant after a long drive from Tucson. Breakfast was pretty good, and the breakfast area is huge - they must expect large groups. The breakfast area even had a game room with a pool table, ping pong and air hockey. Wish we'd had time to stay and play! Nice folks at the front desk too.
We stayed in Kanab for a week to visit the many nearby parks & sights. The hotel was a great choice for us! It was off season so we felt as if we had the town to ourselves. We were traveling with 2 dogs and found the rooms clean, spacious and with a great dog park area. The staff was friendly & accommodating and the location was perfect. There are several good restaurants close by. We will stay there again in the future. PS The annual hot air balloon festival was a bonus & the hotel is centrally located for the festivities.
The hot tub is a must to use. Perfect temperature for relaxing. The staff is very caring and breakfast offered a good variety. I like the variety of syrups for the waffles. The eggs were good and not the average scrambled eggs.
Excellent location. Friendly, helpful, professional, knowledgeable staff. Very clean and comfortable. Great value! Pet friendly. Great amenities. Good breakfast selections. All in all worth while!!
Beds were comfortable, many pillows to choose from, the bed was loaded with them!! DD and I stayed at an Unnamed competitor the night before, it was so awful we didn't get much asleep. Service at this BW was so great, they upgraded us to 2 queens and in a quiet corner so we could get some real rest. So very thankful!
This is a great motel in Kanab. Right off of main street with lots of shops and restaurants to visit. Lets not forget the view. Great parking right outside the room. Definitely would stay here again!!
Stayed 3 nights. Good location walking distance to good restaurants. Rooms were clean and well kept. Breakfast was standard with waffles. Property was good. Outdoor pool was warm enough hot tub was great! The best part of our stay was the hotel staff. Kind and accommodating.
Great, clean hotel. Good, delicious, hot breakfast. I gave the desk clerk my rewards number and she said she changed it but she didn't. My only complaint was I didn't get credit for my rewards even after calling the rewards 800#
Hotel is well maintained. Iconic red stone construction matching the area nicely. The property is clearly a 1950s motel, but certainly upgraded and maintained. The room was very clean and fairly large. The evening there were two staff members on both night of our stay that were very friendly. Stay over cleaning was requested and they did a great job. The hotel is located in downtown Kenab, which is a small and cute town! Of course most people stay here because of the National Parks and it is a great place to stay! Hotel has breakfast, but I usually don't participate in the breakfast. I grabbed some eggs on my way out in the morning. I COULD see noise being an issue for some, but didn't have an issue with our room because the AC was running all night.
I have stayed here several times and will continue. Such a clean comfortable room. Nice touches, like body soap, shampoo and conditioner mounted on the wall in the shower. Room is always spotless, particularly the bathroom so that is very much appreciated. I love the location, it's so quiet there and the room is huge and I park right outside my room. Pets allowed. I recommended this hotel to my friends and they really liked it too.
The location is brilliant as it is right in the middle of Kanab with easy access to the highway. Lots of restaurants and shops around and there is ample free parking. The hotel is quite tired looking and clearly hasn't been renovated in some time. There's a strange smell throughout the hotel but we could never put our finger on what it was. The rooms are very spacious and we appreciated the little extras such as make up wipes that were already in the rooms. The beds were comfortable though and the AC was strong. The downside of the room is that the walls were very thin. We had people next to us who were watching tv and chatting and to be fair to them they weren't being overly noisy but we could hear them clear as day in our room. We also could hear traffic from the main road too. The breakfast is pretty good and stays open till 10am. The pool is in the middle of the parking lot. The service was a mixed bag as no one was particularly friendly but when we had an issue the maintenance team were there right away. So good where it counts! All in all it's an absolutely fine place to stay. We would probably book somewhere else if we were to return but we would stay again if we had to.
Older style best western ,rooms where ok and services reasonable staff where helpful and nice has pool games room gym near all the local services ,breakfast was very basic Easy to find places to eat
The room was clean and the folks checking us in were very nice. The woman in charge of breakfast was on the ball and came to our aid a few times when we either couldn't find something, or have questions.
Super Friendly staff. Very large breakfast area. large game room with pool table, air hockey, pinball..... Nice that they had fridge in room. Plenty of parking. Really great breakfast with many options.
We stayed here while in Kanab one night and cancelled our second night because the room was absolutely gross. Our room had black mold/mildew. Bad odor. Breakfast was limited and disgusting. Would not recommend.
Upon check-in, a kind woman verified that my husband and I had booked a king-size bed. Several minutes later, even though we were almost done with check-in, a skeevy male worker who had been staring at us said, "You sure you two only want one bed?" My husband and I are gay. Get over it. Yes, we've shared a bed for the last 15 years, so probably tonight, too. The place was old, dirty, and gross anyway, so no need to bother with it. Yes, this is rural Utah, but it's 2023. It's also Pride month, so I'm speaking up. There is no place for homophobia in a corporate chain like Best Western.
Overall, it was a great experience that I would recommend. From the exceptional front desk hosts to the delightful breakfast staff, the level of service provided was truly outstanding. The hotel's location was also perfect, offering easy access to charming shops and restaurants within walking distance. I was impressed by the room's spaciousness and the inviting, modern decor. The attention to detail was evident, and the newly renovated bathroom added a touch of elegance. The bed was very comfortable as well. One standout feature was the beautiful skylight in the bathroom (second floor room), which allowed natural light to fill the space and created a serene ambiance. However, there was one aspect of my stay that dampened my overall experience: The moment I stepped into my room, the unfortunate smell of the carpet hit me. It was truly surprising and disappointing, considering the high standards maintained throughout the rest of the room and hotel grounds. The odor can only be described as a combination of musty dirty socks and the unfortunate scent of something might have decayed on the carpet. There was also a big dark spot on the carpet which might have been the ultimate culprit of it. Despite my best efforts, such as keeping the door open and even opening up the provided coffee pods in an effort to try and mask the smell, it persisted throughout my stay. I was contemplating to ask for another room, but I was tired and had already unpacked by the time I realized that the smell wasn't going anywhere. While the carpet odor was certainly a disappointment, it was still a great hotel experience. I stayed at three different Hotels throughout my Utah visit, and Red Hills was by far the best of the three! Thank you to the exceptional front desk hosts, especially Natalie, she was very professional, friendly and welcoming. I forgot the name of the hardworking breakfast lady, on 5/19 and 5/20, she was exceptional! Super attentive, exceptionally friendly and always in a great mood! Employees like these two are hard to find, please take good care of them! Despite the carpet issue, I would gladly return to this hotel in the future. Best, Anna
The efficient and kind service at check-in really (after a long day of driving) set the tone for a nice experience. The manager went ahead and upgraded us to a larger room. Although the hotel was close to capacity, there was very little ambient noise, which together with the nice beds helped us get a good night's sleep. The breakfast area is well-maintained and well-stocked, and the food stations are spaced so that multiple parties can serve themselves without running into each other. The location is in walking distance to several nice restaurants in town, and the parking is close to most of the rooms. All in all, this is a great hotel from which to plan trips to explore the Kanab area; our family would definitely consider returning here in the future, and we recommend this to visitors to this part of Utah. Best regards,
Had adequate parking for my travel trailer, a decent breakfast. Elevator was broken so they upgraded me. Tidy, quiet. This place is really central to a lot of nice country and cheaper than hotels closer to Zion NP.
BW Red Rock is a great American Motel and the location in Kanab UT is so convenient to many of the National Parks. Sweet little town with equally nice people. The hotel itself was up to date, clean and with attentive staff. You'll love it.
The front desk representative helped me to get a room that met my preferences. Clean room and quiet. Breakfast, which was adequate, was served early at 6 AM. Perfect for those that want to get up and out early.....and there were a lot of us. Recommend this property.
When you check into a hotel the minimum you expect is a clean room AND the ability to get a quiet night's sleep. The air conditioner in room 239 was so loud you could not use it at night nor when watching TV. Memo: it was 95 degrees during the day. I asked the lady at check out for some compensation for this problem with no results.
One of the best run hotels/motels we have seen in a long time. Older hotel with outside entry but very clean with updated features in a very large room. Very large breakfast area with friendly attendant who kept food line well stocked and clean. Efficient and helpful front desk staff. Did not use pool or hot tub but both looked nice. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. As is typical of a LDS dominated Utah town, the entire town was very clean, well organized, had friendly people, and we felt very safe walking the streets.
The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Sometimes we run into hotels not letting us split the bill between 2 credit cards but these folks didn't have any issues with it. The room was nice and clean. Decor was nicely updated. It was quiet at night. The only improvement I would recommend is to add a comfortable side chair. I would definitely stay again.
Comfortable, clean and quiet room. The pool and hot tub areas were very nice. There was a grill area where you could cook your food. The hotel was in a great location to the downtown area. The breakfast was very good and the attendant was exceptional.
I stayed here on a group trip. The lady working the front desk with short gray hair was very rude. She kicked out around 45 people out of the pool 15 mins before posted closing time. She was also super rude when asked for a extra towel and nail clippers. Maybe don't work in customer service if you have a bad attitude.
Only stayed one night while passing through, traveling with a small dog. Very large, clean, comfortable room with all amenities. Nice grassy area for dogs. Friendly and welcoming staff. Only negative is that the room had carpeting instead of laminate flooring. Because it was a pet-friendly room, there was a residual odor. Overall, the hotel was great, and would definitely stay there again!
Clean, comfortable, easy access and a good pool. Breakfast was good and great coffee. Would recommend to any want good and economic stay in a great location. Also the hotel was pet friendly with a nice dog park!
Went here after visiting Arizona and was on our way to Zion park. Thought it was a perfect location only 30min from Zion. The hotel it's self looks so much better on the pictures than in reality. When arriving all I could think of was some kind of Bates motel. The lobby and the hallways have a dark and old smell. Lucky the room it self smelled good and was clean even tho the balcony wasn't cleaned for a while. Good for one nights stay but wouldent go back. Kind a expensive for what it is.
I booked our room on trip advisor. I don't know if that's why we got the wonky room that's not attached to the hotel. The hotel had 4 separate parts. 1 was the lobby which had normal rooms attached, downstairs was the breakfast and looked normal. Then there were 2 unattached sections of hotel rooms, 2 stories that looked normal. Then there was ours, which was off by itself & had 3 rooms ,two side by side and one on top. Very strange indeed. Our floor wasn't even it had a downhill slope. The room had a terrible musty smell which isn't good when you're prone to asthma. At least the cooler worked and we had amenities. The bed & linens were clean. We had tv,fridge but no microwave. There most definitely isn't a view from the rooms unless you go outside and around the corner. It's wasn't the worst room we've ever had,but not what we were expected. There is an outside pool and hot tub. Breakfast was ok,glad for the choices and a very sweet lady who kept it clean and stocked. Great Mexican restaurant in town .
Kanab is a beautiful town but this hotel is small & a bit old. The price was $198. for 1 night. Way to high for this little place. And for the breakfast sausage to taste like cardboard, I feel a bit ripped off. Come on BW !
I forgot the woman's name who runs the breakast but she greeted patrons every day with cheery enthusiasm. There were little inspirational signs placed around the buffet area too. I've been to lots of hotels that offered breakfast; however, this is the only one that offered almond milk in addition to regular milk. The eating area had plenty of tables so guests are not jostling for a place to eat. Plus, they were constantly wiped down so you weren't eating on crumbs or stickiness.
Great staff at check in and check out; clean, comfortable room with everything we could want. The hot breakfast was expansive, the dining room was comfortable, the hours were good. We appreciated the Member welcome of bottled water on a hot day. Would recommend to anyone.
Customer service was really good. Clean room, yummy breakfast, and pet friendly. Price was decent. Right on the main road near shops and great places to eat. Didn't seem run down, didn't smell bad, like other reviews have said. Parking lot can get cramped but not terribly in early April. We would stay here again.
Our hiking club just spent a week at the Best Western Red Hills in Kanab and it was a great place to stay. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel is convenient to walk to shops and restaurants. The breakfast room lady was very personable and kept all the food well supplied.
Clean but in need of upgrades. Rooms by highway very noisy. Thought window was open but wasn't. Outside door to elevators didn't lock properly so they just left it open. Anyone could wander in. Not overly impressed by this.
This facility needs upgrades beds are horrible noise from everywhere floors and road noise shower is weak in water pressure surprisingly that this was a best Western needs major renovations on the entire facility
Great little hotel on the 1st night of our vacation. Nice lobby & easy check-in with friendly desk attendant. Very clean & quiet all night. Hot tub was just what we needed & was clean. Breakfast room is huge, tasty choice, well laid out.
Excellent customer service during our one night stay, along with the spotless room and delicious breakfast make this the place to stay in Kanab. Centrally located and a perfect place to stay while exploring the beauty of southern Utah in 2022.
Check-in was easy, hotel seemed clean and well appointed, however the bed was very hard and uncomfortable but I find that different people prefer different comfort levels. This hotel really knocked it out of the park when it came to breakfast. Lots of items and the food seemed really fresh. It almost made up for the hard beds!
Exceptional hotel with all the amenities. The handicap bathroom was extremely helpful. Lots of handrails, bath and toilet chair available. The towels were huge and soft and loved the shampoo, conditioner and bath wash containers on the shower wall. The breakfast buffet was exceptional.
This Best Western is dated and old. I found the staff unfriendly and not helpful. I specifically asked for a room with a bathroom at booking and upon check in they said because they were fully booked they could not accommodate. Also I received a call in the very early morning of my check in day from a staff member telling me that my card had declined and if I didn't pay for the room by 3 pm i would loose my reservation. I was told this was their policy. I have never had to pay for my room in advance ( only hold it with a credit card) and always pay upon arrival. Pillows and bed were uncomfortable. The breakfast was good and staff were very friendly . I was very happy to see Covid mandates and restrictions lifted and No masks.
I have nothing negative at all to say about the amenities of this motel. I also know the difference between small town Utah and living in a big city. I do, however, agree with another reveiwer about the lack of COVID protections in this facility. Most of the staff and cusotmers do not wear masks, which is irresponsible, in my opinion, Therefore, the Tripadvisor information about health and safety protocols is misleading. In addition, a discussion that I had from a distance with one of the unmasked hotel receptionists about the length of my stay became unnecessarily terse and convinced me not to extend my stay and take my business elsewhere.
We usually stay at one of the other hotels that have an indoor pool but since this was going to be a one night quick stop we decided to stay here. The establishment was nice but the room was not the cleanest. The breakfast was really good!
Note to Tripadvisor staff: Please modify the information on your website about the added health and safety measures this property is taking, which is accurate. During our stay on Dec 26, not a single staff member was wearing a mask in any of the public indoor areas such as the lobby or the breakfast room. I understand there is no government mask mandate in Kanab, UT, at the time of this writing, but we found it utterly irresponsible that hotel staff, like most guests, were unmasked in indoor areas during our stay. When I brought this to the attention of a female staff member during our check-out, she told us that "masks are a political thing." This is not only inaccurate (masks save lives of members of all political groups, such as democrats, republicans, communists, and fascists), but also stunningly unprofessional to hear from a representative of Best Western Hotels and Resorts. In our room, the internet was barely usable. Apart from this, we were very happy with the appearance and cleanliness of the room
Everything you could need. Clean and spacious rooms in a great location to downtown. The staff was also friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Kanab is a great town with a lot to offer. Toadstools, slot canyons, and caves, and much more.
We needed a place to stay on our way to Arizona and Kanab was a great place to rest our heads for the night. The hotel had a fun southwest feel to it, and I even heard a little boy call it the cowboy hotel. We found the accomadations pleasing.
'Red Hills Best Western was clean, convenient and fairly priced. I'd stay there again. Kanab has access to spectacular places. It's not a fine dining mecca but I was there to see all of the National Parks and scenic wonders.
Although this hotel is older than others, it's spotless and nicely decorated. The rooms are smaller than newer facilities and there is a slight old building smell in our room. The breakfast is very nice and the breakfast area is exceptionally clean and organized. You can walk to the best restaurant in town, just down the block from your hotel. We traveled here to attend a family funeral.
Nice Hotel for the money, located in the center of Town and walking distance to multiple Restaurants. Short drive to Friends of Animals Rescue which was a fun day taking some of the tours of the different Rescue areas
Room was average size, adequate. Convenient bathroom area with plenty of space, although a small shelf in the shower would be a nice addition. Breakfast with typical selections, very friendly and efficient breakfast staff (thank you Connie). Asked for a blanket, the young man at the front desk was quick to bring one to our room. We liked the first floor room and handy parking. The location was perfect for us, close to a few restaurants and shops. Overall we liked it here and would stay again.
The staff were very helpful and the room was very clean. They are pet friendly. the staff was able to get us a first floor room close to a location we could walk our dog. the beds were comfortable and we got a great nights sleep. We would stay here again.
The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished and was very nicely renovated. Our room was on the smaller side but perfectly acceptable. It was clean and well appointed. Internet worked fine. Parking was free and easy. Breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of seating in a nicely decorated room. Staff were pleasant and helpful. First time at a Best Western and was pleasantly surprised. Would highly recommend this place.
Stayed here overnight while visiting Zion National Park. Good value for the region. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Thr staff was friendly and made helpful suggestions for dining choices. Great breakfast buffet with a friendly/helpful attendant.
We were traveling down south and I reserved this hotel which was available at a decent price. Room was cute and convenient, breakfast was great with warm breakfast options which allowed us to not worry about being hungry later, my son loved the oatmeal with peanut butter they had available. Other pluses were internet available and comfy bed! Starbucks nearby at the Safeway in Page, AZ.
1. Phone did not work 2. Smoke detector located next to entry door. By the time the smoke detector detected fire how was I supposed to get out the door? 3. No little shelves in shower upon which to place bar of soap and bottle of shampoo 4. Very tiny tiny toilet 5. The place reminded me of a motel 6 that Best Western merely bought and put their sign out front. 6. I will say that the lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful.
From our arrival, to our departure, I have nothing bad to say about this property. Rooms are nicely appointed. Pool area very nice and clean. Breakfast was grand! Staff is helpful and go out of their way to accommodate guests.
Rooms are large and excellent amenities! The beds are super comfy, great walk in shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers. Wonderful pool, hot tub and a bunch of outdoor seating. They even offer a gas grill for cooking if you desire. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. This was our favorite hotel of our 10 day trip!
All the staff was so helpful and friendly. However, Orlena and Leslie went above and beyond. They had our room keys ready for the 18 rooms we reserved. They registered everyone in the correct rooms so check in and check out with so many people arriving and departing at different times, it was not a problem. It went so smoothly! These ladies were AMAMZING!! So grateful for their organizational and customer service skills! They were TOP NOTCH!
We stayed here for 3 nights recently and we were extremely happy. The hotel is close to several restaurants and other places of interest in town. The pool was refreshing after hiking and being in the heat of the southwest. The room was spacious and comfortable for 4 of us, breakfast was fine and overall a good stay.
We stayed the night of July 12th after visiting Zion National Park. We enjoyed our stay here. This is an older hotel but it has a lot of character and charm. The beds were extremely comfortable. It was really nice having access to an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. The pool was large and the water depth was 9 feet deep. I have not seen a pool this deep in probably 30 years. It was so nice. This place reminded me of the motels we used to stay at on family vacations when we were kids many years ago. The breakfast was decent and more than we expected during the CoVid pandemic. There are newer and more modern hotels in Kanab but honestly, we were glad we chose to stay at this wonderful classic type of motel.
Kanab has many lodging options, ranging from Hampton Inns to small mom-and-pop places, all catering to the national park crowd that uses this small town as a base for exploring. A good mid-priced option is this Best Western property. It's located within walking distance of restaurants and a couple of historic attractions. The rooms are average sized and equipped with most of the amenities you would want, except for in-room microwave. Everything was functional and the staff was quite nice. Breakfast was fully satisfactory and there is a small outdoor pool. It will probably be the lowest priced option for this level of quality in the town.
Place was great, good breakfast selection, gym, and activity room with pool table, pin ball table,, and other games. Our room had small balcony with small table and chairs over looking main street. Front desk people were personable and helpful with questions
This hotel is older, but well maintained and very clean. It's not fancy, but the rooms are well furnished but no fridge or microwave. There was a communal microwave in the hall near the elevators, and we had a cooler with us for which there was plentiful ice. Walkable to restaurants and shopping and the locals are super friendly.
Very friendly staff. Perfect location to travel the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Rooms are very nice, beautiful decoration, very nice pool. Everything was clean. The breakfast was okay, even during Covid.
I am a member of the Best Western rewards program, so as such I'm committed to them as a customer. The BW at Port Aransas for example is superb and our go to place. We checked in to this one on the 3rd day of our two week 4,655 mile road trip to CA. The room, frankly, was quite awful. The carpets looked worn down, the room was tiny, the lighting was inadequate. It was clean. Within three minutes we decided to not stay for the second night as planned and the night agent helped me cancel the second night. She was great in every way. The lobby pictures are highly inaccurate as is the breakfast picture. For the rates charged, we expected a lot better. Frankly, I am astonished at the other reviews.
This hotel was everything that we needed for our trip to southern Utah. The location is within walking distance of several restaurants, coffee shop, and drug store. The staff was friendly and accommodating during our entire stay! We loved having a great dog friendly option! We will be back!
We stayed here for 4 nights and was a really nice place. It was very clean and very comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and going the extra mile for us. With the current situation in the world we have been visiting our own national parks. Best Western has never let us down
Room was so spacious and clean, plus they gave me a room at the back of the property and it was so nice and quiet. The check-in and check-out went perfectly. I will definitely be staying here again! I highly recommend this hotel for people travelling with a pet, the building at the back that I stayed in is right next to their doggie park a really nice good size grassy area with place to sit! Oh and the bed was so comfy!
Passing through on my way to and from big cities I was very pleased to have spent two nights (one in each direction) in the BW Red Hills hotel. I asked for a 2nd floor room so I could sleep with peace and it was very quiet and comfortable but I was delighted to find that my room had a beautiful view of the Red Hills. My room was clean and very comfortable. Everything functioned perfectly, including the shower and other bathroom fixtures. The refrigerator was very cold and very clean. The TV and cable channels were perfect. Even the price was very fair. Best Western never disappoints. That's why when I travel for business I stay in a BW unless there isn't one.
Very nice hotel. Within walking distance of many restaurants. Room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The bed was superb. The staff was wonderful. Parking can be a little tricky if arriving later on in the evenings.
Stayed at Best Western Red Hills for 3 nights in April. They are on the good side of what it purports to be. Friendly staff. As of April, they were still scaling back services due to the virus disruption.
Nice room for a nice price. Will at the front desk recommended an awesome nearby restaurant. Morning breakfast was a great way to start the day. Overall good experience for a price that didn't break the bank.
This Best Western has always been a good stop, but it is not as nice a facility as is usually expected. The rooms are reasonably clean, but they could use some sprucing up. Breakfast is sparse compared to that offered at other Best Western facilities. The breakfast service itself is provided in a large area allowing for easy seating availability as well as providing good spacing during these crazy Covid times. Parking has never been a problem at this facility. The Rocking V restaurant is just across the street. They offer very good food options, wine, beer and some good dessert choices, too. One of my favorite spots in Kanab for dinner.
When traveling between Utah and Arizona this is the perfect pit stop. The location is great. The hot breakfast provided lots of options. I was impressed with the large size of the breakfast dining room which allowed for easy social distancing.
We were were apprehensive to stay at this location, but it was so wonderful. The staff were friendly and attentive. The Breakfast was more than I expected and the followed COVID-19 precautions and made us feel safe. Great stay
I chose a hotel in Kanab because its central coalition to the national parks and Lake Powell. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast area was clean and well organized. The rooms need a newer furniture and carpeting. Otherwise, safe, clean and friendly hotel.
Loved our stay! It is perfectly placed and has a stunning view! The rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating. We loved having access to the grill that was provided. Be sure to pack your suit, you'll want to relax in the hot tub.
We selected the Red Hills Best Western because we are Rewards members. The price was very good (though a couple weeks earlier during an event the rooms were much more expensive). The property is older but has been updated over time. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. The noise level was good (our room faced the parking lot and not the main street). The front desk help us in selecting restaurants and others activities. The breakfast was the standard Best Western fare and presented well. If you are looking for a newer property there asomer motels in town, but we were pleased with our stay and would recommend it.
The room was so clean and everything worked great. The beds were actually comfortable. The staff is so friendly and helpful, they felt like friends. There is a game room that my kids loved, there's also a decent workout room. The breakfast was great. After paying more to stay at a mom and pops type motel in the area my first night in Kanab and having the worst motel experience of my entire life, my next two nights were spent at Best Western and my stay there was a billion times better than the stay at the mom and pops motel. I will certainly book this hotel again and send all of my friends there.
The hotel was clean and appeared well maintained. Jacuzzi was exceptional busy and we did not get a chance to use it. There were lots of families with kids there. The only suggestion that I have is to put microwaves in all of the rooms.
This is a great hotel to visit all the many natural wonders of southern Utah. We were able to Visit vermillion cliffs national monument and Grand staircase escalante. Hotel was clean staff was friendly Best Western is an amazing brand when traveling.
I stayed overnight at the Best Western in Kanab. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. I checked in after a long drive and was checked in quickly and efficiently. My room was spotless and comfortable. The staff made sure I understood what amenities are available at the hotel and also made sure I understood what restaraunts were open in town since I was visiting in the offseason. I made a mental note to always stay at the Best Western when I go to Kanab.
We were traveling with our two cats for the first time and were a bit apprehensive about it. Our car trip went well to Kanab and based on previous reviews, we decided to try out Best Western Red Hills. What a wonderful place. The front desk person was so very welcoming and had everything ready for us immediately. Our room was very clean, our bed super comfortable, and pet-friendly. It was quiet and a very nice grassy area was nearby. The parking was great and ice machine was easy to locate. We are staying again on our way back home this Saturday. Thank you Best Western for making us feel so comfortable!
Enjoyed my stay. The front desk is helpful. I was given a lot of information. But one food crew did not wear a mask indoor. So did a guest. The room is updated and better than before. But no microwave indoors.
This was definitely the most comfortable Best Western I've ever stayed in. When I checked in, the lady at the front desk was so nice and told me all I needed to know including what restaurants were open on Sunday. Then, someone else really went above and beyond and read my rental car's license plate number to me since I'd forgotten for the wave drawing. Really, the front desk was awesome. My room was in the main building (a king room) and it was clean, up to date, had good temperature control, and was very easy to access. I could take an elevator right from the parking lot to the floor my room was on, which really helped for unloading and loading my car, especially in the cold weather. The shower even had really decent shampoo and conditioner, better than a lot of 4 and 5 star hotels I've stayed in, which is definitely appreciated because I have long hair. Breakfast was a bigger selection than I'd seen at other hotels during this time, almost a normal selection, and they were doing their best to keep it safe. I only ever got coffee because I was too tempted by the bakeries and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, but it was really nice you could do toast or a waffle or cereal if you wanted.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, and smell as if they have been well sanitized!! At breakfast, tables were not being cleared and sanitized promptly. Gloves are provided and required when initially selecting food. When customers go to their tables, they remove their gloves, and if they return for refills etc, they are touching drink dispensers and containers without gloves. An additional staff member in the breakfast room to sanitize tables and supervise glove use is needed!
The room was nice and clean. Free breakfast offered in AM. Enjoyed the hot tub; however, due to time of year the outdoor pool was a little chilly. I asked for a quiet room so, I faced the pool/second floor rather than the main street. Room was quiet and bed was extremely comfortable. I would stay here again.
We picked this hotel for it's location. Right in the middle of town on the main drag. Room was clean, internet was good, breakfast was good, didn't partake in the pool, but it looked crowded. Hotel was booked solid. Front desk clerk recommended the restaurant next door (Rocking V-Grill)and it turned out to be fantastic. Best dinner of our vacation, and the window seat we got allowed us to watch the classic car show that was happening on the street. Order the Blackened Cod!!
For the money, this was a nice place to stay. Our room was literally feet from the street so there was a lot of traffic noise but once we went to sleep it didn't keep us up. Breakfast wasn't ready on time so we didn't have a chance to eat before we headed out for our hiking excursion. Place was very clean. I would stay aggain.
Friendly and helpful service at the front desk. Refreshing pool, clean room. Just a bit outdated. There is a deck to enjoy your morning coffee on which was nice. Would stay again, but would be nice if they renovate the rooms.
Good downtown location. Excellent front desk service - very pleasant & helpful. Room was clean. Bed was very comfortable but very hard for short people to get into. Those 20+ inch mattresses might be very comfy but you need a step ladder to get into bed!!! Coffee in room was decaf only; no regular. A thunderstorm had knocked out the cable so there was no TV that night. When I went to plug in the coffee pot the next morning, the breaker popped knocking out the lights, coffee machine, radio, TV, lamp. The only thing that worked was the vanity lights. So no coffee in the room. This was reported to the front desk when I checked out. Don't know if it was fixed right away or not. Breakfast was pretty slim. No buffet style due to the Coronavirus. They didn't even offer a Grab & Go bag.
We chose Best Western because we have had success as we travelled across the US for 10 days. This was not the case here. The hotel room was dirty (hair on floor & in the shower). A/C in room was loud and not great. The breakfast was weak even in this time of COVID. 2 boxes of cereal out and no milk. Bread was stale. I wouldn't stay there again there are so many other choices in the area
Again,I am scratching my head on how this place could get so many good reviews. The first thing I was struck with when walking in the room was the odd odor; a combination between musty and mildew. It wasn't helped by leaving the door open, because it smelled the same way just outside the door. Our double queen room didn't look much like the pictures on the website. The carpet was visibly soiled and the bed linens were old and thin. The small toilet/shower room had been nicely updated but the seat on the new toilet was of cheap ill-fitting plastic. The vanity area had a nice new light/mirror combo and granite counter with new sink and fixtures however it was retro fitted on top of a visibly dinged up old wooden vanity...who would do something like that?? The bed was ok, but I did wake up in the morning with a crick in my neck. The breakfast room was huge with plenty of tables but the food variety was vary meager. Motel location is first rate, right on the main drag with a great cafe next door. However, I would absolutely not recommend staying here.
Located in a beautiful setting. The staff was friendly and rhe room was clean. Close walking distance to shopping and eating. Hotel was taking all precautions for COVID-19. This is always the place we stay at.
Leslie is a gem at the front desk. They are very accommodating here. Rooms are clean and comfy and location is perfect. Pool area is decent, but you can walk anywhere in town from here, which is handy.
BW hotels have never let us down. The consistency of cleanliness, safety and friendliness of staff make BW our first option, regardless of location. Pride in grounds maintenance and guest comfort is readily apparent.
I understand the need to update a resort. However, there is contact construction occurring during our stays. Turning off water when we're in the middle of showering. Double or triple charging your for the room when you reserve through a third party and then give the hotel your credit card upon exit. It's extremely frustrating.
Very friendly staff. Despite COVID complications, the staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. If you are looking for a hotel in this area with comfort and quality in mind, this is the place to stay!
Had the exact amenities that we needed for our stay. Breakfast was wonderful with an large variety of food. There was a game room and hot tub available. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Located in downtown Kanab, this hotel is very convenient for anyone wishing to explore this area of the High desert, Close to the pink corral park and many other outdoor activities. Nice town and freindly people
Our stay started on a high note with Bree at the front desk. She was friendly & super efficient, we had a nice clean king room with a welcome bag of goodies waiting for us. Convenient elevator with luggage carts right there. Breakfast had a great selection & the gal that was keeping everything well stocked made waffles for us! Later when she had some more fresh fruit, came into the breakfast area to see if we wanted something for the road. These 2 employees made the property extra special. Also right next door to the Rocking V restaurant, which has great food. We'll stop here again.
This hotel is very reasonable, plus lives up to Best Western's standards. We were pleased to see there was an elevator, as the king sized beds were on the 2nd floor. The room was very quiet and staff very friendly and helpful.
We didn't have any problems during our visit..had a decent hot breakfast with many choices plus the front counter took some extra time making sure the road was clear for our next day's travel ..we were able to make arrangements some our two small dogs could come with us
Excellent customer service. Quiet. Great affordable accommodations. Room has mini fridge, wi-fi and flatscreen TV. The dining area is huge, and the breakfast is plentiful with diverse prepared options typical of motels. The location is handy - along the main drag, but still setback enough to be quiet and peaceful.
We spent 2 nights at the Best Western and found the staff very friendly and our room clean and comfy. Good value with a decent breakfast buffet and really good coffee a block away at Sunny Creek coffee.
Older, but nice comfortable rooms. Great location. Front desk personnel were friendly & helpful. During my travels I wish I would always find such accommodations. I love the kokopeli designs & old brick, really fits in with the character of the area. I stayed here years ago, & will return if I'm in the area.
We had a last minute change of plans and booked the hotel on the same day. Received great service and a very good rate. But above everything else the Breakfast buffet was the Winner. Lots of variety and very good food. The lady there made sure everything was hot and ready. She kept an eye on all the serving stations. We stayed at several hotels on our our vacation and this was by far the BEST!
We stayed for one night along our trip and it was excellent. The room was updated and clean. Staff was very kind. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Easy access to local shops. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Mediocre room, some updating but an old building. However, for the price it was okay. Seemed clean enough. Staff very helpful. Conveniently located in centre of small town. Self serve breakfast okay, the usual continental. No citrus fruit. The usual watery weak American coffee....I like strong European coffee. Bed comfortable enough. Lots of parking.
Though the property is older, its design is a bit unusual and quite nice. front desk staff was unusually welcoming and breakfast was OK. Property is within easy walking distance of Kanab restaurants. Rocking V down the block is excellent.
Excellent hotel to stay at, right off the highway, easy access, walking distance to restaurants and shops, the breakfast is fabulous, nice pool and clean area, the room was clean and comfortable but a old
We try to stay at BW properties when traveling because while each varies, each hotel provides the same level of quality and value. This one had a treat bag hanging on the door when we arrived, which was a first for us! It was BW's way of expressing thanks for being a rewards club member. Sure, it's a little thing, but shows attention to detail that other chains lack. Comfort, cleanliness, security, breakfast, pool and spa. Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Kanab. We're already planning on going back to spend a longer vacation time.
We stayed here in September as part of our road trip, last month. We stayed at many hotels during our 3 weeks in Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona, but this was one of our favorites. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the pool was small, but clean, and my kids loved the game room! In an age of electronic games and hotels that nickel and dime you, it was refreshing to find a game room with free pool, ping pong, and air hockey, and pinball machines that only cost a quarter. We had a lot of good free fun, each day, and my daughter still talks about playing pool, in Kanab. Thank you, Best Western, for helping us make some one of a memories.
The most favorable things were the wonderful breakfast, breakfast facility, and breakfast staff, and a clean and comfortable bedroom. The unfavorable things were the bathroom, noise level, and the desk staff at times. We booked and stayed three nights. The first item to take this property down a couple stars is the fact that our toilet was a dreaded small circular cadet toilet, and there was ample room for an extended cadet model. The basic, cheap cadet is a torture chamber for some in that it is, for men, both uncomfortable and terribly unhygienic. For this reason alone we shall never return to this motel. The next demerit comes from the staff accounting people who could not manage to charge my proper credit card, despite my efforts to make it understandable to them not to debit my guarantee card (upon reserving) but to put my charges on a different card upon arrival. They just couldn't get it right. The third demerit comes from their putting tour-bus occupants in our wing that they knew had to LEAVE the motel at 7 a.m. That group of people arrived at 10:30 p.m, were up at 5 a.m. with loud televisions and shouting in the halls both on arrival and departure. We were awake at 5 and had a lousy day due to lack of sleep.
This hotel has all the charm and more that one hopes for in a small town. The staff is very accomodating . the location is right in the center of town so one can walk to shops and restaurants We would highly recommend staying there. They have a great fitness center as well.
Red Hills in Kanab is the most wonderful place to stay whether you are staying for a night, or a week. It's in the center of town, and close to Best Friends Sanctuary, Pet Friendly and great breakfast. You can walk to all the great places in town, or just enjoy the quiet of being in the hills.
We stayed in 3 different Best Western hotels on our vacation to Grand Canyon. This one in Kanab was by far the best. It met our expectations in every way. This property is very conveniently located. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They had the rollaway that we requested in our reservation already set up in the room when we got there. The price for the rollaway was very reasonable. The breakfast was outstanding. There were lots of choices and plenty of seating. The automatic pancake make was lots of fun.
Good location to Kanab and local hikes. Staff member who checked is in was welcoming and full of local knowledge. Good outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Clean rooms. Breakfast was terrible, everything is served on one-use plates/bowls and throw away plastic cutlery! For a state full of natural wonders this throw away culture is unforgivable by Best Western hotels. Breakfast coffee was undrinkable, pancake maker was unusable after 9:30 for some reason. Breakfast is not a reason I'd be coming here for.
A/C not working when set at 66 degrees. Had to set to 62 in order for it to work. Dirty/used towel hung behind bathroom door. Wireless was so weak that my laptop couldn't find it. Had to use my smartphone for everything. Refrigerator not working. Front desk clerk had to come to room, remove fridge from cubby and plug in. When I arrived a girl was seated at front desk eating a meal. Don't know who she was, but she was not the front desk clerk. That was a man. No microwaves in rooms.
The hotel staff are very helpful and can recommend places to eat that are within walking distance of the hotel. Room was comfortable and had a nice mountain view. Breakfast area has plenty of seating for all the guests. Nearby are Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon north rim, all within a comfortable day trip.
A nice hotel. Very dog friendly. Our room was right by the dog park at the hotel. It was well taken care of. The only thing I might add is that they water before 9:00AM so the grass is wet and you can't take your dog to the lawn. A change of hours when most people are not checking out would be appreciated. No microwave in the rooms but you have a fridge. A microwave would be appreciated.
This Best Western is a gem, especially at it's price. The room was clean and had a good décor (seemed newly fixed up). The pool, though not large, was nice. The breakfast was standard. What really stood out was the staff -- especially helpful and pleasant. From the first phone call to book the room, through to when we left, we were greeted with a smile and assistance.
I enjoyed my sleep and found the rooms appealing and comfortable. I was shocked when going to breakfast and finding that all cutlery and crockery was disposable! In such a nice hotel and in a time when we are striving to reduce waste, why on earth can't they use real, washable cutlery and crockery?
The thing that made this hotel special to us, was we were on a motorcycle they have rooms that you can pull right in front of your door and our room had an overhang. So you could pull to your room and be under cover at the same time!! The room itself was large, and clean. That's all we could ask for!! Breakfast was nice the usual stuff!!
We have stayed here previously in the main building and this time they put us in one of the older rooms on the other side of the pool. We actually liked it better! Nice to park in front of the door, preferred the walk in shower, easier access to ice machine. This hotel gets our vote for best desk staff person (thanks, Austin for being so helpful and friendly!) and best cookies on our three week trip.
We had an excellent room with plenty of amenities and all of the staff members we encountered were very helpful and kind. I definitely recommend this hotel when in Kanab while visiting the wonders of the state of Utah and/or just traveling through from one place to another.
Used to be my favorite place to stay in Kanab on regular visits, but recent visit shows that the place needs refreshing. While nothing is broken or torn, it just looks like a well used place that was on top of the heap ten or fifteen years ago before Kanab had so many other options. Two notes, the free breakfast comes with three supervisors. One might be needed, but three is more interaction than I need showing me how to operate the milk dispenser and where the plastic ware is (neither of which is necessary). Nice large breakfast area is a plus so you don't have to worry about getting a seat, which is true in some places. Also, traveling with a granddaughter who is on a swim team that practices outdoors and even she could not go in the ice cold pool. That should not be a problem the first of July in southern Utah. Finally, having stayed here previously, I requested a particular room. When I arrived that room had been assigned to someone else. Not something that should happen when I called weeks in advance and was verbally confirmed. Kanab tourism is growing and so are the number of hotel options.
I needed a place to keep expensive medicine at a temp of 35-42 degrees. Instead of saying I would have to put it in their kitchen, a maintenance manager went out of his way to take care of it. The cooler in my room was removed and he replaced it with a refrigerator that not only kept my medicine cool but also had a freezer where I could keep my ice packs frozen! Front desk workers were very helpful also,
Staff was awesome. We like to park our motorcycles in front of our room. Staff was very accomodating when giving us a room. Room was huge. Unfortunately, the pool was being replastered while we were there but the hot tub was awesome. Continental breakfast was good - plenty of choices. Played a few games of pool and pinball! Hadn't played pinball in years.
My wife and I did some volunteer work over at Best Friends Sanctuary. Good location. The King room felt a little tight for both of us, especially in the bathroom area and seemed a little over priced for its size. That is the reason I gave it a Poor Room and Value ratings. Service was good at the front desk and at the breakfast area. Has a nice fitness room. The room was quite, but ran out of shampoo and body wash the first morning. Had to leave a note for the cleaning person to re stock the containers hanging in the shower. I'm sure when we do more volunteer work for Best Friends in the future, that we will stay here again because of its location and we'll try getting a larger room.
The staff were helpful and pleasant and did there best to provide good service. The hotel is older and while comfortable the rooms are dated and on the smaller size. With this said if I were to visit this area again I would consider looking at a more modern hotel.
Arrived a bit late but, were warmly welcomed. Hotel staff very helpful. Cookies just came out of oven. Pool was empty because they wre refinishing it - no problem. Net time we'll jump in! Were on our way to NorthRim Grand Canyon!
Everyone at BW was wonderful from the reservation, to check in and advise on places to have dinner. Traveled with a new dog and they treated her like she was a queen as well! Enjoyed out stay and want to go back to enjoy the area!
The building is similar at the typical Motel , the rooms are large and old, only the bathroom is pretty. My bed linen wasn't cleaned well! So I had to take a towel and put on the bed. We have the breakfast included.
The bedroom, along with the breakfast room and the front desk, was spotless and clean. Everything was awesome. The front desk staff were very nice. Unfortunately, the ladies working downstairs in the breakfast room were rude. I said good morning and Happy Easter to one, and came no response, nor did a smile even show. The other lady told us not to take fruits out of the dining room. Well first off, I am a paying customer, so I am allowed to take my fruits. Secondly, another man had just walked out of the room carrying 3 bananas, and the lady didnt even object. Now I'm not sure if this is racial-profiling, but the ladies were horribly rude and I will not be coming back until this is fixed. However, overall, the hotel is nice.
Stayed her for one night on our way from Zion to the Grand Canyon. Very comfortable and great location. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a lot of options. Leslie at reception was friendly and helpful. By staying here we visited several unplanned and interesting locations including Pipe Spring National Monument and Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. Kanab also has a very interesting Western Movie history. Would highly recommend this location
This place is two stories tall. But, only the main building has an elevator- lucky me. Well, I about to say it is quiet but night now, they are pressure washing the sidewalk areas so it is very noisy. The room is very clean and tidy. Breakfast is served at 6:30am. You get scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, pancakes( via instant pancake machine), cold cereals, bagels, boiled eggs, and pastries. They have a game room with a pool table, pinball machines, etc. You have hair dryer, iron(& board), refrigerator, coffee maker, TV, and free WiFi.
This is our go to hotel to stay while commuting from Arizona to Utah. The staff is always accommodating, the grounds are well kept and the pricing is affordable. The breakfast area is very spacious and clean!
Clean, comfortable and a welcoming staff. Breakfast was excellent each morning and even though it was too cool for the swimming pool, the hot tub was an excellent place to relax and unwind after a day of hiking in Zion. The town of Kanab is a destination that many would not consider but it was the Hollywood of Utah...Gunsmoke, Lone Ranger and many many movies were filmed here over the years. The visitor center is a short walk from the Best Western as are many of the town's attractions and the visitor center was extremely helpful in finding other hikes for us to do locally. We didn't have the time to drive to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (only 70 miles away) but would on our next visit.
We stay at Best western all the time and chose Red Hills in Kanab because it is centrally located so we can visit the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion and the Grand Staircase. This location provided every amenity we could want including a super fun game room with free pool, ping pong and air hockey. Great complete breakfast with spacious dining area. Best fitness room I have EVER seen. Super helpful friendly staff. Stayed in the family suite and it was huge and had every thing we could need. The shower was perfect. Many hotels have bad shower heads or water pressure but not this one! There is a pool and hot tub and picnic area with a bbq. We didn't utilize those but saw a few others use the hot tub. Overall great stay!! Can't wait to go back.
Upon my recent stay one staff member made me feel extremely uncomfortable. She even made me question if she was an employee here. Her cleavage was hanging out and her underwear would show if she had to bend down and pick something up. Short blond lady. Completely unprofessional in my opinion. Have stayed in best westerns most of my travels and this is the first time I am appalled by the dress code at this one. The rest of the staff seemed to stay in order. They all had on blue shirts and seemed very professional. Must say this is my worst stay in a best western because I felt uneasy with this woman. If she is an employee she needs to be in uniform so guest don't think she is a complete stranger walking into rooms.
When we drove up to this hotel to check in, we were greeted by a parking lot full of hootin' and hollerin' bikers. This was NOT a great way to begin what turned out to be a pleasant, quiet stay. Hotel management would be well-advised to send security into public areas and make sure that things are quiet and professional, because we very nearly asked for our money back before we even settled into our room. Once it got dark outside, though, everything settled down for a nice, quiet stay. The hotel has a large workout room and, inexplicably, a huge unused banquet-type area in the main building. This is an older property that is in need of some updating and TLC, but our stay was uneventful. One thing I'd like to point out: When it came time to check out, there was nobody at the front desk and this hotel does not want guests to leave keys behind. We had to wait 5-10 minutes for the desk clerk to grace us with her presence, and even then, there was no apology for the delay. Service matters, Best Western, and that was no way to treat a customer.
This hotel is older, but the rooms are very clean, the bed is comfortable, and the breakfast is really great. The location is in walking distance to restaurants. Overall this place is a great value for your money!
We enjoyed the room, convenient location and service. Kanab is a hub for visitors in Utah. Small bathroom though. Breakfast was generous in the morning. We liked the decor with lovely armchairs in the hotel lobby.
I loved the in town location with plenty of views. The staff was great and helpful re:hiking hints. The hot tub was open and hot. I enjoyed the breakfast which allowed us to get on our way each morning.
I have been staying at hotel since the 70's. A lot of good ones, this particular Inn is exceptional. From checkin to checkout couldn't have been better. The ladies in the breakfast area were perfect. Presentation, variety, and quality (delish) was outstanding. Don't expect to have a little muffin, apple or banana. If there is nothing here that pleases you I would have to say you can't be pleased.
Very accomodating BW right downtown. Great spot for visiting Zion National Park and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The hotel front desk staff were fantastic. They were able to extend our stay through a Saturday night, get us a break on the price and provide us with loads of information on the area. Room was clean and while rather plain was very spacious. Easy walk to several great restaurants. Would definitely stay there again if visiting the area.
Usually pass thru town without staying. We decided to spend the night at this hotel. Friendly staff. Room was spacious and comfortable. Room rate was higher than expected, I guess due to it being a tourist town close to the Grand Canyon. Breakfast was in a large downstairs facility. Nice to have ample room. Food selection was acceptable. Enjoyed the stay.
I always check the room before check in. This BW passed the test! Our room was extremely clean even the bathroom corners. Pristine towels and bed linens. Typical breakfast but a good start to the day. Location is great for walking to several restaurants. Our room faced the road but some might prefer a room in the back building. For us, it wasn't an issue. Although this is an older property in comparison to others in town, I highly recommend this Best Western.
We booked a pet friendly room. All they had was a 2 queen room but it was clean and big. It was located in the last row and far corner next to the outdoor pet station. The room and bed was comfortable and included a coffee maker. The room was a little dated and there was some kind of water leakage issue outside that needed attention. The breakfast room was also big and served good breakfast choices. I thought it was a little pricey and we paid about $200
Nice hotel in a small town on the way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable as well as very quiet. They do need more handicapped parking spaces and the breakfast area needs to be relocated to the main floor so that the handicapped can easily access it. Stairs don't work for everyone.
Booked a few months in advance, lucky since rate kept going up. We were upgraded to a family room with a balcony. It was really nice, to bad we only had one night there. Lobby was clean and attractive. Front desk very helpful in restaurants and directions. We were also left a bottle of Apple Cider with two flutes for our anniversary. Staff asked us a few times to let them know if we needed anything and wished us a Happy Anniversary. We felt they went above their job in politeness and concern. Used the pool area that was clean with nice chairs. Breakfast was standard. Coffee machine and frig and microwave in the room was a BIG plus. We would stay again.
I made online reservations and somehow my arrival date was the date I made my reservations. We weren't coming for three more weeks. The manager at this property bent over backwards to help make this right. We couldn't get a refund, but she made sure we got a credit so when we arrived we were checked right in. We had two dogs with us and they are very dog friendly. They have one section of the motel that is set aside for dogs. It has a grass lawn and a bag station. This is near some really good restaurants and is within a short scenic drive to the north rim. Also nearby are the hidden Pink Coral Sand Dunes. Totally worth a visit. I'll stay here again next time. The free breakfast was very good compared to other free breakfasts.
I've always had great service from BW until this time. The reservation date mix-up cost me 24,000 rewards points AND $112.00. I have no issues with the hotel - rooms are clean and comfortable. Bed is great except I couldn't sleep because of the reservation mess. I couldn't eat breakfast the next morning either. I talked to the hotel manager, called central booking, called customer service and haven't had any results. I'll probably not stay here again. I drop BW as my favorite hotel chain. There are a lot of choices out there.
I booked this hotel solely based on its cheapest rates vs all other chains in town. Check in was so easy and he gave us maps of the town and his recommendations of restaurants- even a little hike up the road too. Quiet Room was clean, plenty of towels, AC works very well, fridge & microwave in room too. Across the street from an amazing ice cream spot, half a block from wood fire restaurant with great pizza- not right IN town in the busy spots which we love. Breakfast was good/typical complimentary set up. Only negative is the noisy construction on the pool, but hey- it's gotta get done at some point. No big deal. Looks really good. Would recommend to anyone visiting Kanab!
I was torn between average to very good because the room was clean but had a slight smell of vacuum dirt bag. The breakfast room is huge, no hurry to beat the crowd to the tables and surprisingly good with hot items and nice photos on the walls. If you are going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon this hotel is a good place to stay.
Stayed at this hotel several times. Not that happy this time around. First I have to state that we had a room not in a main building, but in one of those buildings in a back. The room was big and very clean, with nice fluffy towels and shampoos/etc. I don't know what kind of chemicals they use to clean the rooms, but it was smelling horribly with harsh chemicals. We could not get rid of the smell even on a second day, after airing the room with the door being open. Another complain - toilet. It's an old toilet that is using tons of water per flush yet doesn't have enough of sucking action, so it takes 3 to 4 flushes sometimes to get the job done. Seriously? I even thought it was our fault and we clogged the toilet, when I realized later it's just the way it works. I also wished that had a microwave in the rooms. Room with a fridge and no microwave? Hmmm.... But overall it was a pleasant stay.
The staff was very friendly, i called to book a room for one night and the staff was very nice, rooms clean. Hotel is very conveninetly located off highway 89 definitely two thumps up, room was very clean and includes free breakfast
We tried but we simply could not get information about cleaning products except that they use many unknown products and may or may not use air freshener——no way to tell. The woman who answered the phone had no idea and no interest in finding out.
We stopped here on our road trip, and it was a great location for a stop. There are lots of great places to eat nearby, and the front desk staff was super helpful in deciding where to go and what to do. The breakfast was really great for a Best Western too - a pleasant surprise!
Stayed for one night visiting from Grand Canyon. Convenient location if you are planning to visit Bryce Canyon, North Rim of Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell. Have a outdoor pool for kids. Breakfast Menu was okay, good enough to have a decent breakfast.
Great service when we arrive. Hotel is really clean. The kids loved the fact that there's a play room. Highly recommend to stay at the BW Red Hills. Management was great. We got upgraded to a family suit for being a rewards member. Thank you for the great experience.
Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. There is a lot of space inside the room. Hot breakfast is good. They offered a black hand towel, which I think is unique to this hotel. I used it to clean my car. People are front desk are very friendly. I thought the internet was a bit slow on the last end room, but once I got in the cafeteria or front desk area, internet is fast.
Very nice rooms just north of Grand Canyon North Rim. Well taken care of large room, with a large comfortable bed. In the morning we had a great breakfast. Even tho we arrived late they were helpful. All the staff were great people.
The folks here are great! Room was very clean. Great location. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Would definitely stay here again. Shout out to Leslie for making us feel so welcome. It's also a pet friendly hotel.
BIG - Everything was big. The hotel room was bigger than most hotel rooms in this price range. The breakfast area had plenty of area. I went swimming one night with my son and had a great time. I give this place a big thumbs up.
I think it was helpful that we checked in online in response to an email. The room we were assigned was #216 - on the second floor, directly across (but at a good distance) from the elevator. This is the same elevator you take down to the lower level of the hotel to the breakfast area. Quiet and clean, this is a great sleeping room with a king bed. The breakfast offered all the options, and was included in the price of our stay. Front reception was friendly and efficient. We found the location in Kanab to be perfect walking distance from good restaurants and an amazing hidden gem, the Redstone Theatre and Bar G Wranglers.
spent 2 nights there and didn't have any complaints, the rooms were clean, comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we had at a hotel in a long time. The location was very handy to visit the sights.
As you may know, it is hard to get a reservation close to the north rim during the summer season. This hotel was the closest we could get, which is an hour and a half from the N. Rim Visitor center. However, the reviews were correct, and this was a good choice. They honored our request for a quiet room, and it was very comfortable. The free breakfast was one of the better ones that I have seen, as it had many tables available, and was staffed constantly. Everything was clean and working, and although it was a full house, the logistics worked properly. We stayed two nights and everything was as expected or beyond. The only negative was the hot tub was under construction. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and knew how to do the job correctly. I would recommend this hotel, and advise to snoop around Kanab A little bit, as it is quite interesting.
First trip to Kanab and I had a wonderful time. The hotel was very clean, beds super comfortable, everything worked. The staff were very nice and friendly. I had so many questions but they never got tired of me. The young man with the cast on his arm was very helpful but I think the star was Martha. We saw her work as a room attendant, greet tourists off their bus, move luggage, posed for pictures with guests and was always smiling. As we were leaving she asked if she could speak with my dogs. She was so warm and friendly she helped make our stay even better. I highly recommend this hotel. No outside noise at all even though there were motor bikes everywhere. The only down side was hot tub was not working but things break. I am going back next year and will definitely stay here.
Kanab is a wonderful town to visit, and Best Western Red Hills will make it even better! The staff is helpful, the rooms are very clean, bed and pillows are top notch and the breakfast is wonderful! Hotel is within walking distance of stores and restaurants. We had a 2nd floor room.
Good hotel, pool was not functioning when we were there and there was construction going on at pool. Disappointed about that. Breakfast is very mediocre at best; even if mediocre the food should be edible. Other than that, staff was good and the room was very good, beds comfortable with lots of pillows.
Kanab is a lovely Town surrounded by beautiful Vermillion Cliffs. I plan to stay at this hotel on any future occasions I should be passing through Kanab. Numerous restaurants and opportunities to buy souvenirs are within easy walking distance. Highly recommended!
We arrived after a long drive to a grumpy reception at the desk. I think the young lady forgot how to smile. Not a great first impression of Utah. The gentleman behind the desk (with the cast on his arm) was super friendly and helpful. Room was OK, except there's 5 stairs to get down to the room which is awkward with suitcases. Not sure why the building was created like that.
We had a large 1st floor room with a good sized TV and a small bathroom.Very clean and the folks were very nice.Frig was making noise and had to be unplugged but they were sorry and will replace. All good.Best western is consistently an affordable and nice place to stay
The good — the staff were lovely. It was clean. The not so good — the bed was rock hard and the AC was so drying in the tiny room that neither my husband or I could breathe. We travel ALLOT and we have never been so uncomfortable in a motel room. At 3:30 am we finally got up and left, resuming our road trip. Also to mention is the horrible creaking and soft feeling of the floor underfoot. We were on the second floor, main building. Motel needs some retrofitting for sure. I rarely post a negative review but this just had to be said.
We were really happy to booked our stay here. The property was clean and the room was comfortable. It was close to a few good places to eat. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. They gave us great instructions when we arrived on Sunday, there are only 5 restaurants open on Sunday in town so that was helpful. Their pool isn't working, hopefully that gets fixed. I would stay here again.
Nice breakfast, easy access to some walking distances like restaurants, shops and Visitors Center. There's some nice hiking within walking distance too.. plus other trails within a short drive. Good midway point if you're heading to Grand Canyon North Rim, Zion or Lake Meade.
We had nothing booked prior to arriving in Kanab and after checking out a few hotels in the area we decided on the BW. Staff was friendly the family room we ended up in was great and the costs were more than reasonable.
The hotel is reasonably priced, the breakfast buffet is well stocked with hot and cold options, the breakfast room is large enough that there was no waiting. The room was large and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The motel was clean and well maintained, and the staff very helpful. They made several recommendations for places to eat and were spot on with all of them. The ONLY downer I have on the hotel is that the water pressure in the shower was on the low side. It was serviceable, but it could have been better. We will stay there again the next time we're in the area.
This BW is very well maintained and is in a location that is convenient for walking around Kanab. A good place to stay for one night, we started a 3 day tour the next day with Dreamland Safari Tours. Kanab is a good stop on a road trip.
We stayed for 4 nights and overall our stay was outstanding. Quite room , nice hot water, comfortable bed, clean room, strong wi-fi and great breakfast. Tourist information center wasn't very helpful in kanab and almost ruined our day - rather found front desk with more knowledgeable. Enjoyed local restaurants with very reasonable prices. Funny thing we didn't wanted the housekeeping service of our entire stay but everyday our room got cleaned until third day we just put the do not disturb sign. Surely if we come again to the area , definitely we will stay here again.
Clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet, convenient location, great breakfast. Fast & easy check-in. The room had a little private deck, if you wanted to sit outside. Walking distance to restaurants, a pharmacy, and shopping.
Great front 24 hour desk . .great people. Elevator to second floor. Parking was terrible . .had to park on street. Nice view from room. Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again. It is not a 3 star Hotel though . . solid 2 star.
It's like any other motel look and feel with a little better breakfast. Breakfast options were good with pancakes, bagels, muffins , cereals, coffee, juice and yogurts. Room was a little dark and small for two queen beds. However it was functional. Coffee maker was pain, it would make a cup and then stop for a few minutes. Evening staff was more courteous than morning one. Service lady at breakfast was great. There was only 1 person available who was busy with breakfast. So definitely it's typical understaffed motel.
A great stop in between destinations going to Page AZ. Friendly staff and great bed after a long day. The snack bag instead of breakfast was a good option for me since I left to catch sunrise at Horseshoe Bend.
This is a great small hotel. It is clean and the people were great. I had hoped it was closer to the park from their website. It is about 30 miles in total. You save booking in Kanab, but you have to drive. Weigh your options and time.
We've had great luck with Best Westerns in the Southwest, in general, and were very satisfied with this property. Arriving early after having driven from Bryce to attend The Wave Lottery at the nearby BLM office, we were delighted to be accommodated for an early check in. The staff was great from start to finish, helping out with change for doing laundry, and even offering to make us a to-go breakfast when I called for a super early wake-up call (6AM meet-up with outfitter for South Coyote Buttes hike). The room was spacious and clean, with multiple, conveniently-placed outlets for charging electronics. The breakfast is fine, not spectacular, but with hot offerings and the usual continental breakfast items. This hotel is easy walking distance to shops, the Little Hollywood Museum, several good restaurants (including Sego), and the tourist office. An excellent choice for those looking for something reasonable, pleasant, and well-located.
Stayed here during a visit to Best Friends Sanctuary, and was in a dog friendly room at the back of the property. The rooms were clean and in good shape. The noise level from adjoining rooms was really quite bad. A woman next door had her TV at full tilt after 10pm and by the third night I was over it. Thankfully, Amanda at the front desk was very helpful and professional in resolving the issue! My last night, a family moved in next door, and as far as I could tell they were not making an unusual amount of noise for a family but I could hear everything in the room. If you are noise sensitive - think twice about this place or see if another location of room is better. Light sleepers should come equipped with ear plugs and white noise
We chose the motel side of the Best Western as opposed to the hotel side as we were traveling with hiking and camping gear, so being able to park right outside your room was idea. We loved the amenities - great breakfast, well appointed lobby, fun game room, well equipped fitness center and large outdoor hot tub. Location in the center of town and reasonably priced.
After an Expedia booking nightmare with another hotel (which happened to be hundreds of miles away from the location I typed in, the sweet clerk at Best Western was a breath of fresh air. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. There's a huge breakfast area with everything except waffles! Lots of breakfast choices! Close to restaurants too. Highly recommend!
Front desk was friendly at check-in, and breakfast was good, but the carpet in our room was old. They gave us the handicapped room that had an outside door that appeared you could not double lock. That evening a high school baseball team was staying there. They were running up and down the halls and stairs and talking very loudly until 11pm. When we checked in the front desk lady told us that if we needed anything, they were there 24/7. We tried calling the front desk at 10:30 and no one answered. The hotel layout was kind of strange, hard to figure out how to get around and no map was provided. I would rather stay at Aikens Lodge next time.
Great and helpful staff, clean rooms. You do receive a continental breakfast, but it does have much to be desired. If you have small kids then I think it would be good for them. I would plan on eating out at one of the local establishments.
This hotel was comfortable and a good value. It was clean, comfortable, and had a good breakfast. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and helped us with finding a place for dinner that evening. I would definitely stay here in the future.
Leaving Grand Canyon sadly right before New Years Eve all the hotels near Lake Powell were booked. After calling around we found red hills to have a room available and we powered through on the drive to Kanab. Was greeted pleasantly at almost midnight. The shower was great with brand name soaps not crappy bars that dry your skin. The continental breakfast goes without saying. Definitely worth the sleep on the way back to Salt Lake City.
We came in very late from moving my daughter home and the young man at the front desk was very kind and considerate. He was very helpful with parking our long moving truck and trailer. The room was clean and had many extra little touches like plenty of towels and even a makeup cloth which was a nice touch.
Our daughter and her husband have stayed there several times and we ended up meeting them there for a night's stay. We had a Groupon for $55 but after seeing how great the hotel, service and breakfast was, we would have paid the $80 regular price. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The beds are pillows were also comfy. Everything was clean and nice. We were close to the front by the road but it wasn't noisy. We had a warm heater and a warm shower. The breakfast area and food were wonderful! Some motels have small eating areas. This dining area is large with many tables for many diners. The food was hot and varied - I really appreciated the hot oatmeal and toppings for it. (The oatmeal ran out before the end of breakfast. So did the pancake mix.) The yogurt was nice too. Our family liked the pancake machine, sausages, eggs and bagels. Fresh fruit would have been nice but for the cost of the room, the breakfast really was great. The big eating room has a pool table, air hockey, foosball and ping pong. We had fun playing after breakfast as did other folks. The service was really great - we were made to feel important and valued. We got good suggestions for restaurants (sad that Houston's is closed for the winter!) and we liked having the drugstore so close. Beware the Rocking V next door - the food is good but the prices are really high!
Helpful staff. Good choice of breakfast items. Weather was too cold to use the outdoor spa. Wish it was indoor.we brought a dog and the Dog friendly room was clean but inconvenience as it was on the second floor.
I stay here every time I'm in the area. The hotel is nice with a great doggy area right next to my room. The staff are very helpful and even printed off the menu to my favorite restaurant for me. Kanab is a quiet, safe town to walk the dog and enjoy the beautiful red rock hills that surround the town. And its really close to the amazing national parks nearby.
staff was very helpful and friendly. we enjoyed our stay. we will stay their again. we forgot our jacket in breakfast area. we called next day and they mailed it to our address.we will definitely recommend our friends to stay there.
I have stayed at many Best Western hotels. This one is in a beautiful location and the staff are really supportive and friendly. The breakfast selections were excellent with a lot of variety. Susan S. in the breakfast area was terrific! Be sure to introduce yourself to her.
We spent 3 nights here on our way to Arizona. The room was large, clean and comfortable and the hot breakfast was great. Easy early check in thanks to Leslie. Great location for seeing Zion and other parks and Best Friends. Would definetely recommend and would stay here again
Smooth check-in - assigned a large room with king bed - nicely furnished - fast internet large clean bathroom - lots of lines and toiletries fridge good breakfast with a good selection of food items. Very reasonable rate
perfect, recommended for other people, it was great for our family and the small dog, we will be back on our next trip. The kids love to play in the game room and fitness center was good. The breakfast was perfect. Great location and easy to find.
This Hotel is a convenient stop for us on our way to our Winter Home. The Hotel is has everything you need for an overnight stay. Kanab is a lovely western town where many movies have been made and close to the Zion National Park as well as Bryce Canyon. Both are worth a visit if you are in Utah.
We were unfortunate enough to lose a wallet during our stay at the Red Hills. The staff went out of their way to locate the wallet after we left. They emailed and called us immediately to let us know they had found the wallet. It was returned to us by overnight mail with absolutely everything intact, including over $100 in cash. We commend their honesty and integrity and certainly appreciate their help.
This hotel was clean, convenient and priced just right. The breakfast was complete with hot and cold offerings. The outdoor pool and spa were closed for the season. When you visit Kanab, plan on a visit to their Heritage House Museum.
Clean, friendly and convenient location downtown. Free wi fi and good breakfast. Great price. Didn't use the pool due to the season but did look clean and well maintained. We will most definitely return.
My family and I stayed one night in Kanab while visiting the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary doing a service project with a scout troop. We had a wonderful experience at the Best Western there and would recommend it to our family and friends.
After my last review, the hotel's GM Ed wrote: <
My 6 year old granddaughter got injured at this hotel stepping out of the hot tub. A deep gushing cut on the bottom of her foot. 9 stiches at the emergency room and a lot of pain! The staff and manager did not care. They did not offer out stay to be free, they did not offer to pay for the medical costs, they did not drain the hot tub and find out the cause of the cut. They never followed through to see how my granddaughter was doing. It was a very painful experience for a 6 year old and the staff could of cared less. Where was the managers concern? There was none!!
We spent two nights at the Best Western in Kanab. We found it to be an excellent place to stay. The rooms are large and clean. The bed was comfortable. We really liked the hot breakfast each morning. If we return to Kanab, we will definitely stay here again.
Pleasant and professional! A wonderful example of service and excellence in the hotel industry. New facility with lots to offer. The rooms and breakfast area carry an executive experience to them. I would stay here again and definitely recommend it to others looking for something similar to their stay!
Staff was friendly and helpful . Pancakes and breakfast selection very good. Magazines on animal welfare & shelters great ! Good location for park hopping ! Rooms comfortable & clean . Check in & out very easy.
I know that when I book a BW hotel that the room will be comfortable and clean and that I'll get a good breakfast without having to leave the premises. Staff is helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help.
For $210+ a night including tax, it was not worth it. The property is rambling. It had a nice hot tub and pool. You get a hot breakfast. All very average. The hotel was full. I heard someone trying to get a refund who didn't want to stay there and they were told no. At $100 a night...maybe. I will try another hotel next time.
We enjoyed this hotel while we were in escalante national park. Staff was professional. We stayed at a boutique hotel in town and greatly preferred the best western. Rooms were clean, updated and spacious.
Average motel, old, expect better of Best Western even with its location. Motel did not appear to be a built Best Western, but something they had bought and not put much money into to up grade to usual best Western Standards.
Standard best western hotel. It is available a swimming pool. What it is positive is that in case you have a room on the second floor there is an elevator. Room are big and guys at check in were nice.
On a 20+ day motorcycle ride from KY to UT. Up early to eat & ride over to Bryce Canyon. Met Geniel Spencer, the GM of this property. Without asking, she brought us (5 bikers) rags to wipe the dew off our bikes. Next thing you know, she is carrying a bucket of soapy water so we could wash them. All the while dressed up and in heels! Accept my apology for not offering to carry the bucket, I was awestruck. Besides the best manager, ever, the property is spacious & clean. With wonderful rooms, beds and generous breakfast. Hope to see you again, Geniel.
This was my first visit to Kanab and we made no reservations not knowing exactly what this city was like. We were visiting family and after our visit we looked around for a place. We asked someone at a restaurant if they could recommend someplace. They said the Best Western Red Hills. I was a good suggestion. We were checking in late but it wasn't a busy time for vacationers. They had a very nice room for us. It was clean and spacious. Had a nice bathtub and very comfortable beds. Not too expensive. And they have a full breakfast buffet in the morning. They had a bowl of fresh fruit in the lobby area if you needed a snack at night and it was a very pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel. The staff was kind and helpful and it was very nice there. I asked for a late check-out time and they accommodated and I like that when they are willing to do without a hassle. Good place to stay.
Our room was so dated.....the colors were. Brown, orange and gold. The furniture was dented and scratched and carpet was old and faded. Mattress and pillows were uncomfortable .Besides the floor creaking in our room you could hear it when people walked in the hallway and the people below us. Look for another hotel when in Kanab.
The price of the room seemed high for such a dated property. It is in a prime location but many newer properties nearby. Very disappointed in the hot breakfast they advertised. At 8:00 AM there was one lone bagel left and no service attendant to refill items.
The Best Western in Kanab is a good value, clean and pleasant. We have stayed here before as we have travelled from our home in Scottsdale Arizona to the spectacular National Parks in Utah. Kanab is a small town that is working to develop additional amenities for travelers. We enjoy the rock shop a few blocks away and have recently discovered Kanab Creek Bakery across the street (an awesome old world style Bakery).
Stayed here with my sister in August. We were camping for a week in the area and needed a break from the tent. This place was very affordable and had a great complimentary breakfast. Also, the pool area was clean and nice.
This is an awesome hotel. Great service, beautiful pool, large room with two king size beds and a good breakfast! We really enjoyed our visit. Beautiful location with amazing views. Town has plaques along the sidewalks providing historical information of early western movies and the actors who stared in them.
Very friendly staff, nice clean rooms. Breakfast selection was nice and hot. Computer available in lobby to print on. We were well pleased with this Best Western stay. Would recommend it if your travels are towards the Zion National Park, travel time to park is not far.
Rooms are tired looking for $160 a night. Parking is tight. Good location in the center of town and close to restaurants. Staff is friendly but rooms are lacking in quality and upkeep. Washrooms are very small and tired looking.
Hotel is outdated, but room is clean and service is good. Love hotel location, it is only 1 hour away from grand canyon north rim. a small town but best western has a big service. Their hot breakfast is excellent. Lot of selection and food.
The room was large and very clean. Nice large shower. The beds were so comfortable. The pool was great. Really good breakfast, large variety. The location is great right in heart of downtown Kanab. The hotel was so helpful when I let them know I just had knee surgery they put us ground floor upon request great people.
We used BW points to book this hotel and were put in a room on the landing between the first and second floors. We actually stayed here on our way north and on our way home, both times in the same room ( the second time at our request because the room was quiet and the beds were comfortable). The first time we struggled with the stairs. On our second visit we discovered we could take the elevator to the second floor and walk down lots fewer steps! All of the staff were very friendly, one gal even walking us out to the sidewalk to show us the movie star signs along Main Street.
Very happy with our stay. Love the location. Good breakfast. Loved the family suite. Close to main street through town. Enjoyed the dining across the street. Liked having game the kids could play while we ate breakfast.
A very noisy room upstairs on Main Street with an A/C fan that was loud and became noisier as it stayed on and no ability to open a window due to street noise. And no other room offered, even though I am disabled and ask to not be on the 2nd floor. Hardly an apology.
Nice swimming pool and good breakfast with lots of choices (great omlets), comfy beds. All in all a pleasant place. Would return. Close to Zion, Grand Canyon (North) and Bryce NPs. Try Matty´s great food.
Our family reserved a room at this Best Western as part of a long spring break road trip, after four days camping in the desert. We picked it mainly because of its nice outdoor pool, which the reservation folks assured us was open. Imagine our dusty dismay when we arrived to find that the pool was still closed for the season. The crying children and my husband and I were able to cheer up nicely though, when the clerk upgraded us to a large suite, with a great big deck. The hot tub was fine and the laundry facility handy.
Very clean rooms, however dated. large with lots of room for moving around. We travelled with our 8 year old grandson and he loved the pool and hot tub. The pet area was awesome and yard very well kept and inviting.
We stayed here last Aug (2016) on our way from The Grand Canyon to Bryce Canyon. It was so great, we stayed here again this year coming from The Grand Canyon on our way to Bryce Canyon. Great breakfast, comfy beds. Our only complaint would be... they need more parking.
Excellent, clean, comfortable motel with nicely appointed room. Great view from balcony off room. Grounds well maintained and clean. Staff knowledgeable about local restaurants, etc. Centrally located in Kanab.
Staff was very friendly, lobby very clean, nice sized room, very clean, mattress comfy. Array of food was good and fresh, large dining area. Easy to find, on main roadway. Pool area was clean and pool well maintained.
We stayed here while visiting Best Friends. For some reason I missed the fact that it is a motel when I booked it, so I was surprised when we showed up. However, check in was pleasant and the room was much nicer than expected. The bedroom was updated and comfortable. As for the bathroom, they just put lipstick on a pig-- put in a new shower pan on top of the mold and mildew and put in a toilet that blocked the door (you could close the door if you pushed it past the edge of the toilet). Kids were excited about the pool, and some people were swimming, but the water was so green you couldn't see the bottom. So I didn't let them in. Breakfast was good. Location is great.
Well appointed large room with king bed and comfortable lounge chair with ottoman. Close to pool, ice machine, and customer microwave. Walking distance to grocery story and restaurants. Kanab is a delightful, safe town close to Zion and Bryce Canyon
Very nice property, pool was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Even had makeup remover cloths! Will for sure stay there again. Bed was very comfy, nice and quite. Pool is up to 9 foot deep. Ian was great!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Hills in Kanab, UT. It was close to Zion Nat'l Park. Nicholas, the front desk clerk checked us in, gave us a rewards gift bag plus an additional 500 points. He also gave us a 10% off coupon to Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen, a vegan restaurant with great food even though we are not vegetarians. We encountered not problems, the breakfast was good and we would come back if we are ever in the area again.
Conveniently located on Main Street through town. Close to restaurants. Very helpful staff. Large room for breakfast. More room than other Best Western locations. Breakfast was good. The usual selections but sufficient. One nice feature is the outdoor pool. Very well maintained. Also our room had an outside balcony which was perfect for watching the thunderstorm we had the evening we were there. We will keep this facility in our list for future trips
Wonderful and accommodating staff to meet our needs. Leslie was friendly and had great suggestions on where to eat in town. The room was clean with comfortable beds. The pool was a huge hit with my kids too. Definitely stay here again!!
The staff was outstanding. The rooms were correctly priced for what we received. The pool was great, warm, and deep. There was a good ice cream place next door and a great museum down the road. There was no good place to eat nearby however if you stay here you get a complimentary shuttle to a great place that has a formal restaurant downstairs and a saloon upstairs they were very nice there and the food was great. Overall this hotel was a great place and a highlight of our trip.
This Best Western is very clean. Breakfasts are delicious. Very good service . We would stay here again.Wifi is excellent. We were very happy! Make sure to join their loyalty program to earn credits for your stays
Stopped there on my way home. Never been there before but thought it might be better than where I stayed on my way to Utah. I had a dog with me and the dog park was next to my room. The room was huge and very comfy for me and my dog. They had a fridge but no microwave which was disappointing. There are not slot of good places there to get food. My bed was hard so I had a hard time sleeping with my old bones. I will stay there again on my next visit.
This was a very pleasant stop on our journey. Leslie was quick to get us checked in, even though she was in the process of taking a phone reservation and baking cookies for the arriving guests. The room was spacious and clean. There was an exterior door to a small balcony. That was a bonus for watching the big thunderstorm that rolled in about 7 pm. Walking distance to restaurants and galleries. Rocking V cafe is right next door. We arrived on a Sunday so many businesses were closed. Keep this in mind
For convenience and accessability, Kanab was great. The Area seems to be growing but not exceeding its capacity. Fourth of July was hometown small town experience very fun. Best Western has as good a location, pool (in the heat was invaluable) very nice full breakfast. Rooms are spacious enough & ours had semi-separate vanity/fridge toilet/shower that was helpful. Best, the staff never missed a beat to be sure we had all we needed: bottle opener, directions, and even went to store to get a (iPhone) charger as I broke mine & their lost-n-found didn't have a match. Loaned it to me for a day!
Very nice staff at check in but it took too long time to do the paper work. The rooms where OK but not more. The most positive detail was that the room was very quiet and we slept well. The pool area was a bit dirty and the breakfast was below "Best Western standard". Could be better for the money.
We stayed here after a day at Zion NP. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, but it looks like this motel is older and could use a little sprucing up. Since it is near a national park and we stayed in summer, the rates were quite high for the caliber of hotel. They know they have you so all the hotels in the area are overpriced. The bed was comfortable, but the air conditioning was a little noisy. We also had some noisy neighbors, so we didn't sleep as well as we would have liked. There are newer hotels in town which I would probably choose if I ever return to the area.
Good location. Restaurants and gas stations are near. Bed was very comfortable. Easy access to the highway. Good breakfast. Quiet neighborhood. Outside pool. Washer and dryer clean and in working order.
Wonderful staff. Can't be beat. Unfortunately the hotel/motel is old and in need of major upgrades in order to compete with the newer more modern competition. The location can't be beat and the restaurant across the street is amazing
Had no idea what to expect of a small town in southern Utah. Kanab is delightful in its own right--very walkable--some very nice restaurants to walk to within minutes of the hotel. Interesting descriptions of the history of movies westerns. Perfect location for a day trip to the north rim of the Grand Canyon; about a 90 minute drive.
friendly and efficient; that's what you want after a day of driving. hotel grounds were comfortable and clean with a shaded court, even in 100 degree temps. nicely located in the center of town; everything easily walkable
We left Signal Mountain Lodge in the Grand Tetons and needed a place to rest for the night. We choose the BW in Kanab and we were glad we did. Check in was easy, the room was super and we immediately fell asleep. The breakfast was filling. Thanks again BW, score for sure.
Clean, bright, comfortable. They were very helpful even with luggage. They helped out with travel tips too. Good breakfast. We were nervous to stay with all the negative reviews on other hotels but this one seemed promising. I wasn't expecting a lot and got more then expected!
The Best Western Red Hills in Kanab is the perfect home-base when exploring Southern Utah. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the full breakfast is delicious. The hotel has a small pool that is refreshing after a day of hiking and a hot tub to relax in. There is a game room for kids of all ages that has a foosball, ping pong and air hockey tables. We will definitely stay here again.
We liked the renovations that have been made. Our room was mostly comfortable. We felt the air conditioning could have cooled a little better. There was no fan in the bathroom but we know the building is not new construction.
Hotel is clean and well kept both inside and out. The staff was very welcoming. The breakfast was good and had a nice variety of foods to chose from. Nice amenities and great location to other dining places and activities.
The hotel and it's guest rooms is very nice! Clean, updated, great breakfast. The staff is great!! However, we were very hot and tired and had been assured that the pool was open and heated. When we checked in, the pool was closed because they needed to change a light bulb. We wished they could have done that during the closed hours.
The location is perfect being half way between Phoenix and Salt Lake. Everything about the stay was good. We specially like the dog friendliness of the facility with a dog walk area with lounge chairs, bags, and grass.
Overall the motel is okay. The room was spacious and clean. But.... we had a room with a double door to the next one and that proved to be a mistake. Our neighbors were noisy and after a few hours of limited sleep I had to intervene to get them to shut off the TV in the middle if the night. Normally not a problem but the double doors provided little to no insulation. The staff solved it during the night. This was the first bad night of sleep in our entire vacation for a relatively expensive hotel. We did not hear anything more from the staff on this. The breakfast buffet was ok. Just many things were out the first day and with one pancake machine (together with relatively large groups of Tourists that did not understand the machines) made it a struggle to collect food for the breakfast. The pool is in the middle of the complex, fully exposed to the street and the parking lot.
Nice hotel and rooms are very roomy, towels are nice and fluffy . Internet was fast. Laundry room for each building. Breakfast has lots of selections and was very clean. Location was great . Located close to Zion and Bryce Canyon
The rooms are small and shabby (not chic) and need updating. The bathroom was dark and also in need of proper lighting updating. Parking spaces are extremely tight and it was hard to find an open space. Breakfast was dismal since they ran out of eggs, bacon and potatoes. I don't dig the pastries.
We enjoyed our two nights here. The first afternoon we arrived, the front desk invited us to a cook out at the pool! Wow, who does that? We had an end unit that was handicap accessible (I had broken my ankle two days before) and it was wonderful. Breakfast was really nice too.
This hotel is located in the middle of town, a perfect place from which to visit the many attractions of this scenic area. The rooms are well furnished, very comfortable and have good bathroom facilities. Breakfast was usual hotel fare and very good. We would gladly stay there again, especially if the price were lower.
Have stayed in some not great BW in the past and was hesitant to repeat a mistake. But, the reviews seemed good, included breakfast, price was like others in the area. So, what a great and positive surprise when we checked in. Front desk person was helpful. Room quite large and comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best ever in a chain motel and even quite good for a private.
We have stayed at this location a couple of times because we like best western hotels. This location is a little outdated and the room was a little small, but it was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice with plenty of hot water. It was a nice quiet stay. The only thing missing was a microwave. Would definitely stay here again.
I stayed here three days ago and now realize how much better it was than I realized. Sure it is around 40 dollars more than the Travelodge but I am currently writing this from the Travelodge, it was a last minute stay so the Best Western was much more for tonight than when I got the prior room ages ago. Anyways, getting back to the room, it looks like it has been updated. Unlike the Travelodge, whose lighting is so horrific that my eyes hurt. I'm not kidding when I say the Travelodge has a tiny low light lamp and a pitiful overhead that barely lights the room. The Best Western also has adequate closet space. The Travelodge has a bar in the bathroom to hang clothing. The breakfast at the Best Western was much better than I was expecting. I thought it would be pretty simple. There were eggs, potatoes, oatmeal with 5 different toppings, 4 different flavors of syrup for the pancakes, sliced fruit, bananas, muffins cereal and a bunch of different types of bread. The Travelodge has what you would expect for a motel of its low stature. Oh, the Travelodge has a kid who can't be more than 11 working at the cash register all by himself. He was friendly but who has a young child checking people in and running credit cards. The Best Western also has good wifi. I didn't use the pool but it is in kind of a strange area. It is facing the main road right by where people pull in off the street to check in.
Our room cost us $200.00 for Memorial Day weekend. Aside from the jacked up price, it was a decent place to stay. Nice sized room, clean bathroom, great breakfast and good service! About 25 minutes from Coral Pink sand dunes and a great mountain view.
Very attentive staff and location to National Parks was excellent. The town of Kanab was interesting with the history of many movies made in the area. We enjoyed talking the young man who was taking care of the breakfast buffet in the morning
Room was expensive but below average in design, lighting, water pressure. There was noise late at night. No microwave in the room to heat our frozen dinners. (I was told, "Only family rooms have microwaves." I guess two adults and a dog aren't a family.)
Stayed here two nights. Shower is set up so there is water everywhere. One morning someone parked a tour bus where cars usually park. When the bus started up at 7 AM it woke the dead. Thanks. While I generally like Best Westerns this one is okay. Would try other hotels in Kanab if I were to stay here again. Wifi is brutally slow. Sending some pictures (2 MB) would take an hour or so. Wifi is so bad I will say this place has no free wifi.
The room was ok but the price for the type of room was ridiculously high. A total of over $200. This was a tourist trap and I dont think the quality of the room could of ever been worth that much. I should of camped.
We selected this hotel as we were traveling going back home. We had never been to this city. The hotel looked nice from the outside and the representatives when registering were nice and let us know about all of the equipment for the pool a great place to eat. We did enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area. Neat little town. Might go again.
Remodel of facility was very well done. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was much improved both in quality and selection. Good location with easy accessibility. Friendly helpful staff. Express checkout was flawless. Overall a very pleasant experience. Stayed at several BW locations during three week vacation; all very tastefully remodeled. One flaw is new logo and signage along interstates. Generic BW in a circle is not easily recognizable and does nothing to make brand stand out. Hard to see and recognize. Updating of familiar old logo would be much better.
Our room was nice and quiet and the bed was comfortable with a choice of nice pillows. The room was clean and the desk help was really nice. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel and amenities was wonderful. It is also across the street from the Rocking V restaurant which was yummy!! I have stayed here on many trips and all the upgrades they have done are excellent. I will stay again!
I was hiking the Hayduke Trail and re-supplied in Kanab. I used the laundry and the computer in the lobby to update my online journal, avoiding the hassle of time limits at the library. I also printed a document.
Great location, close to restaurants and kids loved breakfast. They are updating the outside paint, will be great when finished. The parking lot was a little congested, but still easy to access. Had an issue with the water pipe noise but front desk took care of us and moved us to another room. No complaints!!
Easy to find and on our route to Zion National Park. Unfortunately this hotel did not advise us that their pool area and the premises were being repaired. A very nice reception with excellent staff; but the "balcony" of our room had the stucco stripped off and looked pretty shabby. The breakfast was well done with a good variety of food and the breakfast room was large.
Don't get me wrong. It's a clean average hotel. Friendly staff. Includes a full breakfast, complimentary coffee and cookies. But......It's in Kanab so it's overpriced by a mile. If you are day hiking you are much better off staying in Fredonia, Az or Hurricane, Ut. Get up early and drive in to your spot. You'll save a ton. Also. The rooms have inadequate wiring. Lots of extension cords and overloaded outlets. A bit scary. Thin floors. I tiptoed and still felt bad for the folks below me.
Thanks to my status I received an upgrade for a two-room suite which was nice. However, this suite, which is located in a separate little building, seems to suffer from serious neglect by housekeeping. One day it wasn't made up at all and the other days it seems that they only made up the bed, nothing more. No cleaning during my four nights stay - some stains on the bathroom floor were there the whole time. There were some pretty disgusting brown stains on the wall next to the toilet. Also, I had a hard time finding clean towels and washcloths - most of them were obviously dirty and some had yucky yellow stains. As they were not replaced by housekeeping, I had to run over to the front desk and get some clean ones! It seems that the suite I had isn't used much. The air was stale and had a musty odor so I had to keep the windows open most of the time during my stay. Also, the smoke detector in one of the rooms was missing. On the positive side, the folks at the front desk were very nice (Skylar was particularly enthusiastic), breakfast was good and the proximity to trails and National Parks is definitely a plus. If housekeeping had done a better job, I would have enjoyed my stay a lot more.
I stayed at the Red Hills Best Western and it was SUPER clean, Big Spacious nice rooms, Great TV, good internet connection too! GREAT POOL (kids loved it) nice breakfast that comes along, helps getting on the road a little easier. Close to alot of attractions, on road but rooms were in the rear and quiet nice little town! Worth staying there!
A lovely welcome from the young lady on the desk - Skylar. Friendly and accommodating. The room was lovely. We were on 2nd floor in the main reception block. Really spacious and clean. Bed very comfy. The Sunday night we checked in a Spring market was happening over the road - including banjo music being played rather loud until 21:00 - no nap happening for us!! We endured the screeching over TV which we tried to disguise. When you're in bed you can hear everything. People walking along corridor. Conversations from adjoining rooms. Toilets and showers been ran at silly o'clock. I type this at 23:29 and someone is using a hairdryer - sounds clear as day. Some people have no courtesy. We experienced kids squealing outside running up and down at 22:00 and again at 06:30. Their parents need throttling. Also the outside balcony has a light that turns on at night and it cannot be turned ed off - lighting the room up and the curtains are rubbish. Overall not a place we would revisit in the slightest and we would strongly encourage to book elsewhere. (It is now 05:36 and have heard next doors alarm going off followed by their toilet flushing!! When will it stop..??!!! :-/)
This place was vey clean, beds were comfortable and the staff was courteous. This place is close enough to Zion National Park but far enough away to avoid the high prices of the more nearby motels. I would stay here again if in the area and would recommend it to anyone.
The hotel dates from the 60-70s with few updates. the cost of $120 per nite was outrageous. I usually pay in the 70-80 for this type of unit. the Best Western name should mean something. Like value for money, better than a Motel 6, Staff does a good job; however, the facility is far below the BW standards. I use BW when possible and am usually pleased. The Red Hills should be dropped or updated. it is a disservice to the BW trademark. I will certainly advise my friends of this BW problem.
Not aware when booking that the hotel was under renovations. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast the usual fair. No eggs the first morning and by the time more were available we ate other things. Hotel gave us a complimentary dinner gift card for being inconvenienced by workers needing access to our room. Much appreciated
I was disappointed due to lack of cleanliness from housekeeping. There was a stained of one of the bedsheets and the second day, I left used towels on the floor so they can replace them but we have to call front desk when we came back to be replaced. For some reason the bed was uncomfortable that my lower back is aching every morning I got up. But beside that they have a good breakfast and the location is good for our little vacation.
This Best Western was undergoing improvements, so we weren't sure how our stay would go after seeing workers' construction vehicles parked in guests spaces and supplies stacked everywhere. We needn't have worried. Workers started at 8:00, when we headed out for the day. They left in time for us to find a parking spot when we returned. Breakfast offered a lot of choices, and thank you for serving peanut butter which did not contain high fructose corn syrup! Breakfast staff was professional and friendly. Desk staff was very helpful. I asked for complimentary toothpaste..no problem! The desk rep was happy to oblige. I asked directions to the nearest park/picnic area...no problem. The desk rep knew the answer. Our stay was quite pleasant.
Overall, the hotel was clean and large with lots of room to stretch out and put our stuff. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, but more variety of food would have been great. The only thing we didn't like was the shower. It was very shallow and the shower curtain was actually laying in the shower.
On my way to Page, AZ I stopped here for a night. Everything is great about his hotel. Customer service. Quick and easy. Comfortable beds. Clean rooms. Slept like a baby. I recommend this hotel. And I love this little town. I got out and walked around town.
This place was great. Great room, excellent, professional staff and wonderful breakfast. Nick on the front desk was professional and efficient when we requested numerous tasks. In a 15 day vacation, we stayed at many motels and this one was the absolute best.
Convenient location, good value on Priceline. Queen beds, lots of breakfast options and kids loved the free air hockey and ping pong. Recommended if traveling through Kanab. Rooms were clean, request back side, no highway noise.
This is the only hotel I stay while travel to Kanab. Location is convenient, plenty of restaurants in close distance. Room was clean and in decent size. Good water pressure in shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast has plenty of choices. Nick the manager was nice and helpful! Will be back!
The room was fine. Beds comfortable, everything seemed clean. But If you can't sleep due to the incessant noise this is all worthless. After listening to people, talking loudly in the hallway from 9:30 pm till 11:00 pm, along with children screaming as they ran down the hall... I finally went out into he hallway to just ask for quiet, I was told by a rude person that he had a one year old and I needed to chill out. The noise continued well into the night. People don't have manners any more, and I know this is t the motel's fault. But rules about quiet after 10 pm, some sound proofing on the doors and walls,,,I dunno. We just wanted a night's rest on our journey. We didn't get it here.
This is a nice place to stay in Kanab. It is centrally located. The staff is friendly. The rooms are nice. It is situated in a beautiful area. The rooms are always clean. The breakfast is nice. They have a good variety of food to choose from. The beds are very comfortable
Decent hotel, nice little dog area. Nice community to walk through, with the dog, old heritage houses to see behind the hotel. Beds are a little hard, but it was quite and clean. Breakfast included was pretty good.
This is an older property that's updated .Great beds, linens, TV was HD,good A/C, clean room and bath. Location was right in the town of 5000 people, close to a number of restaraunts. They took BW gift card, no problem.Price was great, and it's close to the north rim entry of Grand Canyon,or Bryce and Zion,or stay a coupke of nights, and see all of them.Breakfast was a good selection, with something for everyone. We saw some tourist from China,at Bryce snd Zion, and got to talk and visit with some of them,at breakfast at this property. Ck.in and out was smooth with both day and night shift employees.Very professional and friendly, attend suggested a few places for dinner.Although it's too cool for swimming, the pool was in center of property, like motor hotels years ago.Great choice.
Great central location to all attractions, clean spacious room, good water pressure in shower, nice shampoo and body wash. Free with stay was a very good full breakfast and tasty fresh coffee. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Nice extras like fresh coffee and spring water in lobby, computer with printer available, game room, nice extras everywhere an felt very welcoming and homey. The bed was a little hard and uncomfortable but not terrible. Nice pool but it was not in working over the 3 days we were there.
I've never been disappointed with any of my hundreds of nights at Best Western hotels in the US and Europe and this one was again a good choice. Spacious beds and friendly staff. Nice basic breakfast available. A fair number of restaurants in town as well.
This hotel had nice clean rooms and comfortable beds. We were uncertain at first because we prefer indoor corridors, but we were pleased with the quality of the room. The hotel is very convenient to the best local restaurants and shops. Staff was friendly.
Has the essentials but the property is a little bit older than I anticipated. The fridge and microwave was a nice touch. But the room felt like from the 90ies The breakfast was in the basement and I wolfed down my food to get out and away. Good stop if you are visiting the parks around. but a fancy hotel this is not The staff was friendly but overworked as the hotel was at capacity due to this being the final dayds before Grand Canyon closed for the winter.
Well-kept motel with good walking distance from most everything in Kanab. Gym was nice, hot tub was open, room was clean, parking was ample, and price was reasonable. I would recommend if your stay is longer than a night!
Hotel does allow cats or dogs for sleepovers. Nice grassy area with clean-up bags for the dogs. Be aware that the $15 charge is not one-time, but applies to each night that you have a sleepover animal. Sign at the front desk is not clear about that.
Pro: Great location to Zion, easy to get out of town. Walking distance to several food places, and has a hot tub. Breakfast was substantial, even if the eggs were a little bland. Coffee is available in the lobby all the time, and the wifi and television were nice little luxuries. Beds were soft, and pillows fluffy. Cons: Citing "air conditioning" as a luxury should only count if the air conditioner works. We had to complain both nights about air conditioning in our room. The first night, they were only able to get it to fan, which worked ok since the evening was cool. However, the second night wasn't cool enough to cool down the room. We had to ask again, and the night worker said that the air conditioners have the thermostat INSIDE the air conditioner, meaning that it doesn't read the room temp, but instead reads the temp inside the air conditioner. He then said this was a problem with so many of their air conditioners. He did dismantle it enough to get the thermostat out of the air conditioner so that it read the room temperature, but it was frustrating that it was a known problem, and we had to complain (twice, once after midnight) to get anything done about it and that it's a problem with all the rooms. They night workers were helpful though. Second con was that leaving the parking lot, there are divets that made my sedan bottom out. Be careful when exiting the lot unless you have a high clearance vehicle or it looks repaved. Also, there was no tub -- only a shower. Not really a con unless you like baths.
Location Location, must be the best thing. We originally booked two nights at the BW Bryce Canyon but it is out on a limb and adds another one and a half hours each way to the journey, so I would say only stay one night at the Bryce location.
This hotel is in an excellent position when visiting or travelling around the areas of Zion, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon and Monument Valley. Our room was adequate - coffee maker and simple toiletries were provided. It was clean but a little tired and in need of a revamp. The bed was very comfortable however, and the hotel, despite being very busy, was quiet. Fresh coffee, water and fruit were available in the foyer and the breakfast was very good. Would recommend.
It's not a luxury hotel, but is a very good place to stay. Good high, easy-to-operate shower. Very comfortable bed. WiFi works all the time. TV and a/c work well. Plenty of room for opening two (or more) suitcases. Not a fine dining restaurant either, but has unusually well done continental breakfast. Elevator to 2nd floor.
After having a very disappointing experience in another "lodge", we were welcomed at this Best Western in Kanab, Utah The night clerk, was kind, understanding and very very accommodating. Should we ever return this way, this is where we'll stay.
This was my initial jumping off point for bryce. I wanted a nicer hotel but this was all that was available at the time during peak season I suppose. They only had one room left and it was the one above the lobby. It had its own parking spot ha. Unfortunately it was beside the pool and the pool people can be loud until 10pm. Some nice things: free hot dogs/hamburgers for supper by the pool, hot breakfast selection was good. Some bad things: near the street, noisy, old motel. Secret tip: basement of lobby has a ping pong table and foosball table that you can use. Overall a pretty good hotel even if old. I'd stay there one night but not multiple.
We had visited the Best Westerm Red Hills 24 years ago and decided to go back. Stayed there for six nights and was very impressed. Staff and facilities were updated and well maintained. On the Sunday of our visit the whole county's power was down and the staff went out of their way to ensure that we were fed and well taken care of. Would highly this property.
This is an adequate place to stay. not flash and basic but it was clean and comfortable. A small number of the rooms are in a two-storey section, make sure you are not on the bottom as they are not sound proof.
This is a nice hotel in Kanab. I always try to stay here when I travel to this area. The rooms are always clean. Everything is always in working order. I love the décor. The staff has always been friendly to me. The grounds are kept clean. If you are travelling in Kanab, make sure you check this one out. You won't be sorry.
Stayed one night on a trip through Zion and Bryce Canyon. Location wasn't ideal, but booking late forced us on a slight detour to find accommodations. This hotel is quite old, but has newer furniture to help give an updated appearance. The floor boards on the second floor squeak as you walk the halls, the walls are quite thin and there are still some dated elements to the rooms. However, the room was clean and the bed was pretty good. Wi-fi was also strong enough to face time the kids, which most hotels don't seem to be able to do. Comp breakfast was basic, but had the right items for us and tasted just fine. Value was a bit of an issue, considering there was a brand new comfort inn across the street for $15 more per night.
Very hard to find a room in Kanab at the end of September, who would have thought. Was able to get a room here for the night but had to find another motel for the next 2 nights. This was our first stay at BW Red Hills and we were pleased. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was updated and comfortable. That night they had a cookout at the pool with burgers and hot dogs and it was a nice touch. Thank you. They had one of the better free hot breakfasts we ever had at a motel. Overall stay was nice and would have liked to spent the last 2 nights there but they were booked.
We've spent three nights here as a father-daughter road trip stopover. Double queen room ground floor. We've been quite impressed overall. Pros - breakfast is included. Reasonable range of food for breakfast. They have non-dairy milk and can tell you which cereals are gluten free. No gluten free bread though.....odd. - comfy beds - room furnishings looked modern and welcoming. - tv, heater/ cooler, in-room coffee maker, ice bucket, small fridge, iron and ironing board, very generous space for clothes hanging and to keep luggage. It's a little thing but I liked that they supplied towelettes for makeup removal, along with black face-washers (washcloths). - pool and spa area has good under cover seating (fully fence do/ enclosed - swipe card entry). Early fall the pool and spa both have partial shade early afternoon (yay for us fair-skinned people!). Towels supplied. Vending machine for drinks. Ice machine. TIP- No change (dressing) area! Get changed in your room. Bring your swipe card to access the pool. - coffee, tea and fruit in reception. Along with the tourist pamphlets, area feels welcoming. - centrally located in town. Main Street. Cons - pillows not great and I would have liked a variety in the room to choose between (pillows all the same height and texture!). There were 8 pillows in the double queen room so you'd think variety was possible. - house keeping first day was below expectations. She/ he made the beds but didn't empty bins or replace towel left on shower floor (we thought that was a universal language for "please replace"!). Second day I was in the room when an attendant arrived. She was friendly and cheerful and asked me what I would like done in the room. Overall, impressed. Would stay here again.
The outside of the hotel looks very old, so we expected more of the same on the inside. I turned out to be better than we thought and appeared to have had some upgrading. It has a basement where the workout room, ping pong table, Foosball table and other amenities are located. This is also where the breakfast is served. There is plenty of seating, but all the things we had for breakfast were lukewarm or cold.
I wasn't here to be in Kanab just passing through and should have stayed on the road another hour. I know I probably paid the going rate for Kanab but it was too much for what it was. The room was clean but nothing other than average. They offer a hot breakfast at 6:30 but when I got there at 6:35 there were 40 people surrounding the food, I just grabbed a glass of juice and left.
The breakfast selection was very good, but the rooms really need to be updated. The ice machine was by the pool outside and not near the rooms. The floors in the hallway squeaked terribly and the door to the room would not close on it's own. We stayed during the week when the rates are typically less expensive, but still too high for this hotel.
We went to Kanab to see the western movie sites and get a feel for those days of old Hollywood nostalgia. We were not disappointed. The Red Hills BW property has a great Southwestern feel like the old Route 66 Motor Courts. We had a delightful nostalgic feel and the breakfast was OUTSTANDING. Green chile's for the eggs and peppers and onions in the cottage potatoes. Nice touch. Bueno!
The hotel is nothing fancy but was very nice for a 1 night stay. Kanab is very quaint. We travelled from Cincinnati Oh to Utah and stayed mainly at Best Western hotels. They are reasonable and very nic.
We got there late. The night clerk was nice and helpful. The room was big and clean. I'm sorry to say we were in it for about 7 hours, It would have been a great place to stay longer. We were gone before the free breakfast. I would return to stay there. A very easy location.
Welcome by Laurie was so friendly! (And somewhat later she was great help to us by reserving a room in another BW) Room on groundfloor, very nice situated. Room with king bed and walk-in shower was very good. Pool is nice and clean. 2 chairs in front of the room give nice place to watch the sunset. Only problem with room on groundfloor is that your neighbours upstairs can make much noise. Breakfast was a bit crowded, but well served with nice variety.
Best Western Red Hills in conveniently located and can be considered as gateway to most National Parks (Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon) in the area. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The suite was clean and had all the basic amenities including microwave and refrigerator. The check-in staff was pleasant, cordial and very helpful. The hotel provides complimentary hot breakfast in the basement of the hotel, which was very good and sumptuous. Hotel also has an outdoor pool, which is great for kids. Recommended, if you are looking for a safe and clean place to stay while visiting Southern Utah...!!
Staff was very professional and friendly ,We arrived early and the staff prepared our room in less than 30 minuets, The room was clean and beds very comfortable, Hotel location was great in walking distance to shopping, Restaurants ect. My husband drinks decaf coffee, they had it in the room at no extra cost.. made him very happy. We would definitely stay here again
This Best Western is very easy to find, right on the main road. It's also across a street from my favorite restaurant, Rockin V. I had requested a first floor room, which was offered, but the king bed rooms are on the second floor. This turned out not to be a problem as they have an elevator and luggage carriers. The room itself was very spacious, clean and had comfortable beds. The bath room "separator" wall from the bedroom was a little unusual with a decorative weave wall rather than a plain wall, but the area was good sized. There was lots of seating in the breakfast rooms which is often not the case. The breakfast had the pancake option also. The tub had a handicapped grip bar which I find helpful.
will stay again , it is very centrally located in the city of Kanab and the surrounding majestic beauty , of the red bluffs and mountains of southern Utah, the rooms are clean and the lay out of motel was well planned for the traveler , and the convenience of the amenities
Was a very nice hotel, very clean and nice amenities. Our family suite was big enough to suite our group of seven people and we liked how big the shower and bathroom area was. Like our balcony and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was very nice, great options and all good and fresh. Fruit could have been better, pillows were very big and hurt my neck and back. Value was high, $295 with tax was a lot for 1 night. Could be work at having more competitive rates.
Good points: The receptionist was pleasant and helpful. The Rooms were clean. Bad points: The mottled paint on the building makes the motel look aged and in need of an update. It is expensive. The breakfast is poor - I had to chase for somebody to refill the hot water flask, paper plates with plastic cutlery is not what the average traveller expects! All in all I wish I'd stayed somewhere else and having been to Kanab (pronounced K'nab) I can report that there are several other motels and more being built so there is no reason to choose Best Western! I am writing this part way through a road trip which takes me to Yosemite and San Francisco and know I have more Best Western hotels ahead of me so fingers crossed that Red Hills is their Worst Western.
Not sure if this is an average Best Western. The room smelled quite badly, probably because of the old carpet. It was also really dusty, so don't go there if you have problems with that. Beds are ok, but the pillows are uncomfortably firm. The pool area is actually quite nice for a motel. Biggest problem was the wifi which did not work for the whole time (1 night) we were there. When we arrived at 5 pm they were just on the phone with tech support. Same at 8 pm. And the next morning 8 am they were waiting for tech support to call back. After complaining on checkout they told us how sorry they were. At this point I would have expected they offer a discount. They did not. So we asked for a discount and at least got the rate reduced by 15$ . Breakfast is included and just ok. But for 173$ I would expect a much better experience. Especially the bad odour in the room should be removed.
I booked a room at this hotel for two nights while visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon. While staying there my car was vandalized in their parking lot. When I notified in the front desk staff of the incident I was met with a blank stare. They did not seem particularly surprised or bothered by the incident, nor did they seem interested to prevent such incidents in the future. I was not offered any assistance on how to proceed nor a chance to speak to management. After staying here I not only paid an exorbitant fee for a below average hotel but have lost $500 in vehicle damages.
I booked this hotel, as I use BW to collect points and am usually very happy with where I stay. This hotel was clean, but many other parts of it would make me not stay again. My biggest issue was value for the price - I have not stayed in Kanab before, but I knew it was a touristy spot for other locations and I stayed as I could not get a third night in Page. I paid nearly $180 USD, which I figured was par for the town in summer. Well, I found it a worse experience as far as quality than other Best Westerns in smaller towns, that charged $100 a night or less on this same roadtrip. I am not sure if they are taking advantage of the average hotel costs. Front desk staff was great at check in, my room was clean, which are both good things. The hotel is old and creaky, but has been kept well. Parking was a problem. They don't seem to have enough spots for the # of rooms. When I checked in another guest was complaining. Kanab is a quiet place, so many other places to park nearby, but certainly not convenient with bags or mobility issues. The breakfast was literally in the basement, and it looked and smelled like someone's rec room from the 70s or 80s. Lot of space, but some tables were in a large open area, perhaps for a conference. Breakfast was one of the lowest quality I have had at a Best Western actually, considering the price they were charging. This hotel was way more than I paid for the Best Western PLUS in nearby Page, which I would recommend rather than this one in Kanab, only an hour away. Not the hotels fault, but I had loud neighbours, and because I had a room with an adjoining door (I was in room 226) I heard everything of the family with kids literally running and jumping around and trying my door, which was pretty jarring at 10 - 11pm when I got in and wanted to rest. I asked through the door for them to stop, and called the front desk and they did what they could, which was to call and ask them to quiet down. I could even hear the parents talking (the words) when the kids had quieted down. Luckily I got up before them, so I had a good sleep, the bed was comfortable. I did give the hotel this feedback before writing this review in their own email survey. The response was a general one, saying they would like to have a chance to have me stay again, which won't happen.
The facility was clean & bed comfortable. The room was hot and the air conditioner did not work; froze over. No attempt to fix it or even offer a fan; very uncomfortable. The TV remote did not work, needed charging; fixed on our 2nd nite.
My family stayed here a night while visited Zion N.P. We got in after dark and got a room. We went to the room and it seemed ok. Was odd that there was not a bathroom exhaust fan. A few hours later we awoke to discover that the room was super hot and humid. The air conditioner was definitely not working. I walked to the office to let them know about 2 a.m. The desk person said sorry, nothing he could do. Offered a fan. By morning my son was running a temp from heat. The new desk clerk asked how my stay was upon check out. I explained how miserable it was. He only responded with "sorry", and moved on with his work. No discount was offered, no attempt to do anything. Sad excuse for customer service and a best western. There are many hotels in this ton. Choose any besides this one! My family was excited to leave.
I paid $168 (with taxes) for a night here: got 2 beds in a room that had a fancy-ish bedspread and a fridge, but was otherwise a classic cheap hotel room with a broken curtain, yellowed towels, industrial carpet, and the reek of cleaning chemicals. Management sets out envelopes and cups asking you to tip their staff, both the housekeepers and the people running the free breakfast. Its true these people are doing a very good job and deserve good compensation, but after I pay $168, I expect the hotel to give staff a living wage and not ask me to feel sorry for how little these good people are getting paid.
We booked Best Western Plus months ago using the AAA rate. We needed to add a day and although it was the Fourth of July weekend, they honored the third night for the same low rate. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Although the hotel is located on a busy road, the noise level was very low. The pool is located in the parking lot, but my granddaughters enjoyed taking a break from hiking to cool off. There is a veranda to sit out of the sun. The rooms were made up early so when we returned to rest we didn't need to wait for them to be cleaned.
Good hotel at a fair price for the area... Breakfast was great - eggs and real bacon was a huge plus. Beds were comfortable, room was "roomy" and clean. Wi-Fi worked fine and TV had plenty of channels. Nicely updated and having a fridge was great, too. Only minor complaint was the A/C - no matter how low we set it, it would shut off every few minutes. On the other hand, with the outside temperature at over 105, maybe you take any cooling you can get... Very pleased and would stay there again.
The red hills is my go to place to stay in Kanab. The staff is very pleasant, rooms are clean and well appointed. The swimming pool is awesome with a hot tub and shaded area. I will stay here again. The breakfast room is pretty good, but can be crowded. The hotel rates are affordable.
This hotel is well located between Bryce and Zion National Parks. Clean quite and comfortable. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. The hotel is in the center of this small town with several restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend.
This was an excellent choice of a motel for our four day stay in Kanab during the first week of March 2016. Because of the winter season the prices were very reasonable and it was not crowded. The room had two queen size beds and it was very comfortable and it included a hot breakfast all in the price range of $70 per night. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Initially my wife and I were to stay three nights but decided to stay one extra day because we wanted to see more of the beautiful surroundings. The two previous days we visited Zion and Bryce National Parks, which are not far from Kanab. The person at the desk was very helpful and recommended that we go up Rt 14 to Cedar City, climb Cedar Mountain at 10,000 ft. in the mist of Dixie National Forest and enjoy astounding views all the way to Zion National Park, and lots of snow to boot. We really enjoyed that extra day. Kanab is a good location to visit Zion, Bryce and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which was not open at the time of our stay because of road closure due to snow.
The interiors of this hotel have been updated, but my room had the feel of updates layered on an aging structure. The room was clean enough and spacious and they accommodated my dog, so I really have nothing to complain about. But if I stay in Kanab again, I may try a newer property.
We stayed one nigh traveling through Kanab. The hotel is on the main street and was very easy to find. We arrived about 8:00 pm so the fruit in the lobby was a nice treat. We enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was very good in the morning.
We stopped by this place on our way to Bryce Canyon. The room we stayed at smelled a little when we walked in. Had to turn on A/c then we did not smell it. Beds were a little uncomfortable. Decent complimentary breakfast.
Travelled with pet and found it to be most accommodating. Room was spacious and comfortable for a week long stay. Housekeeping could have been a bit better. No microwave--which was a detriment. Internet was excellent and speedy. The "puppy area" was rather small and sprinklers were on in the morning--which present a problem when taking the dog out first thing in the morning. This is an old-style hotel with outside doors and parking right outside--which is what we wanted for visiting national parks and taking picnics. Loading stuff up every day for the parks is much nicer with this style hotel. Kanab is the best location for access to Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, etc.
Fix the keys so the work no matter what door your at the side entrance or your room door. When shampooing the carpet make sure the room is totally aired out and the carpet is dry. Some professionals get the carpet too wet and so takes longer to dry and wet carpet smells. Had to open the window to help with odor.
Great facility. Located between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park - makes a nice stayover point if visiting these sites. Rooms were very clean, nicely appointed, no problems noted. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Beds were VERY comfortable - great night's sleep. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Highly recommend.
We were tired, hungry, and it was HOT when we got into Kanab. and this Best Western did not disappoint. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable beds and very quiet. Probably the best thing about this place was an above average breakfast with Eggs and potatos. good stuff!
Best Western motels are fancy or plush. Ordinarily, they are nice, clean, and competently managed. This BW in Kanab, Utah is the best I've ever stayed at. The property is aging but is run by people who really seem to care about their guests. They go beyond the call of duty to be nice and pleasant. I especially liked the layout and size of our room. The breakfast area is the best I've ever seen. The toaster is commercial grade and the toast is done in a jiffy unlike most places (including other BW's) where there is always a waiting line for toast. They even have an automatic pancake maker which worked superbly. This BW is the best I've seen.
Courteous staff, comfortable rooms; a great place to stay while visiting Zion Nat'l Park. The hotel has a good breakfast each morning and an outdoor pool and workout facility that has new equipment. The town of Kabab is picturesque with several good restaurants to choose from.
We stay at BW quite a bit and some are nicer than others. This one needs some updating. Great location for walking the sweet town of kanab. Went to dry my hair but the breaker tripped. They did go above and beyond to get my hair dry. Check in was smooth and check out too. We didn't stay for breakfast. Had to get to the rim!
I found this hotel to be very spacious and clean. We reserved the double queen room and it had loads of room. The staff was very accommodating and could advise us of the sites to see and suggestions of where to eat. Although this hotel is older it is well maintained, clean and quiet The breakfast has quite a few options and is kept stocked and hot and the tables clean off. They have a large area for breakfast.
Gigantic room size. Extremely clean. Wonderful bed. Huge hot abundant breakfast in huge room. No cramped area here!! Air conditioner and refrigerator very quiet. However, no microwave. Available upon request tho. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers on wall in shower. Very clean. Great linens in both bed and bath. One of the best hotel experiences I have had!!
We found the Best Western Red Hills, Kanab, Utah was a very comfortable place to stay. Located in Southern Utah, it is near Utah's National Parks and Dixie National Forest. The Best Western is within walking distance of several restaurants and provides a breakfast buffet that is convenient for those traveling with or without children. We stayed in a suite with three queen beds which were very comfortable.
Pros and cons. Pros - Very friendly staff!! Clean and spacious rooms with mini-fridges. Generous breakfast buffet with typical hot egg options and a pancake maker. Pool and covered patio area to enjoy the climate. Cons - it is a very old property like many in Kanab, but it is well taken care of. An attempt was made awhile ago to update the decor, but things are just old. This is a town for outdoorsy tourists, so high end decor is not a priority, but just be aware that you are paying for location and functionality. Rooms on the road will be noisy, so ask for a room in one of the rear buildings - very quiet.
This is an older hotel (like most in Kanab) with a very friendly, helpful staff willing to share local information and a fantastic breakfast. However, the mattresses were too firm for a good nights' sleep.
Upon arrival we were told that our booking had been cancelled months before but the young man on reception sorted the problem very quickly(I wish i could remember his name). The room was clean and tidy and well appointed. The pool area was good and well cared for.Kanab is a great place to walk round.
We stayed here two nights. The room was clean and the staff was great! Unfortunately, the outside elevator which we had to use was not very clean--lots of sand and bits probably blown in by the wind. The decor is getting a little tired in areas. I did use the fitness center and it was good. The hot tub was clean and I enjoyed the use of it. The breakfast the first morning, the eggs were cold and things in general were not very hot. Could be a problem with the warming trays but the second day was much better. Lots of buses stop here for the night so reservations are really a must during the tourist season.
We were very disappointed when we arrived at 3 p.m. at this motel, with reservations, to be told that the only room they had available was right on the highway. With every place in town sold out we took it and bit the bullet. With cane in hand, we had a choice of a long walk from parking on the street, or parking in the motel lot and walking up stairs to our room that had a interior door from the motel hall and an exterior door that literally opened to the street. That was only the beginning of a nightmarish stay. Uncomfortable bed, tiny bathroom, and very thin walls on all sides made sleep difficult. The place looks as though it good use an update. There were two positives about the stay. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good with plenty of room for all the guests to sit down. Would not recommend this place on a weekend unless you are guaranteed a room far away from the street, and even then, I'm not sure I'd take it.
The price was good for what we got and I would stay here again. Very clean, nice room but nothing special. The usual hotel free breakfast. Walking distance to a great restaurant, Sego. Heat/AC was noisy but our room was quiet. Hot tub was clean. Unique outside elevator.
The room was good and fit for my family. Bathroom was clean but sometimes bed sheets were not changed. At midnight, I found a tissue that was stained and other tiny stuff. So I put towels on the sheet and went to sleep. Anyway, breakfast was good and staff were nice.
We stopped here many times for the good rest and great breakfast, but breakfast isn't good any more. Cold coffee, nasty grainy fake scrambled eggs, no yogurt or boiled eggs, in fact the refrigerator was empty! The microwave didn't work, and no waffles, as they said it was too hard to clean the machine. Now they have a computer operated pancake machine, that they admitted, no one likes. It's no wonder on Memorial week, they still were not full, when other hotels were. The room was just ok, A/C was noisy, and bathroom very small with refillable soap and shampoo dispensers, that are known to collect mold, no microwave in the room, but a functional refrigerator was good. I won't return.
This hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It is located mid-town and easy walking to good restaurants and site seeing down the streets of Kanab where we could see the vintage homes, museum and western movie star posters. Little Hollywood was close-by too. The pool was out of order but the small hot tub was relaxing. They have an excellent breakfast buffet and all their employees are friendly and attentive. We plan on using this hotel again... there is too much to enjoy all in one trip
We stayed at the BW to start the north rim Grand Canyon hike. Very clean and nice. Close to great food in Kanab. We did drive into Arizona for dinner, but it was only a couple of miles. I would definitely stay here again. Great value do the type of accommodations.
I would recommend this Best Western to anyone. The ladies at the desk were very nice and offered great advice on Zion National Park that we were going to the next morning. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was good.
Spacious clean rooms and attentive staff. Do a great job on the normal BW breakfast. Our second stay here and will be back. Wish the bathroom sink area was a double but that was no big deal. Restraunts and main town area close
Spotless and very clean. Comfortable beds. Excellent hot tub and pool. Plumbing noises were significant but a minor annoyance. Plenty of parking. A great value near the center of town. Easy walk to many restaurants. Great free breakfast in a spacious set of rooms.
Our room was welcoming and fun. We loved the set up. The pool was so fun. Breakfast was great. We didn't have any hot water for showers and that was so hard. We were playing ball and in the wind all day. We were very dirty and a cold shower was no fun for anyone in the family. I have never had a cold shower at a hotel, so we were quite sad about that. BURRR….
I stayed at this Best Western for 2 1/2 months in 1976 while on a project, and the hotel was outstanding then. I came back through Kanab 40 years later, and knew that I must again stay at the Red Hills Best Western. And the facility is still going strong, top notch...and have even improved with additional amenities being offered, i.e. breakfast, fitness room, etc.
We were concerned after reading some extremely critical reviews on Trip Advisor, but our experience was different. Our room was clean and adequately furnished. It was very pricey for the type of motel it is, but may have been a busy weekend. The assistant manager, who checked us in, was friendly and helpful.
Rooms large, clean bathroom, staff very friendly and helpful, good wifi and tv, good hot breakfast with lots of room to sit down, elevator a bonus, on Main Street in Kanab, outdoor pool, just a great place to stop if u r in Kanab! I would come back again
Nice and pleasant place at good location. Ineteresting places of the town in walkong distance. Nice hot bath and pool facility. Good parking options. Well quality served breakfast. Appropriate and quite large space for socialising.
We enjoy staying at Best Western Motels due to clean facilities and free breakfast. The night manager was extremely helpful and helped us find a parking spot for our moving truck. We would give this motel 4 stars but the room was not clean. The floors were dirty as was the bathroom. It appeared the floors had not been vacuumed and the bathroom could have used more attention.
This hotel was clean, had a wonderful free breakfast, and had a wonderful staff. It was very convenient to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks and very close to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Would definitely stay there again.
Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. The rooms are what you would expect from this class of chain motel. Decently located between Zion & Bryce NPs. When our grandson "forgot" something, when contacted they promised to mail it to our home (at our cost)
The hotel was comfortable and clean, but it was the over and above that really meant the most to us. Our trip to Bryce Canyon was stalled by a dead battery in the morning, but the manager and maintenance man teamed up to help get us on our way within an hour and really saved our day. Comfort is nice, but when things go wrong you really get to see what makes a place work. This place was very, very good.
Easy check in with great information from desk staff. Hooked us up with restaurant and informative about places to visit. Room was clean and the showers were nice. Wifi worked and they have a great rec room in addition to a games room including ping pong table soccer and air hockey. Small pool and hot tub open till 10 pm. Fresh fruit when you walk in!
Excellent location, close to good restaurants, very clean, and a good breakfast. Stayed overnight on a trip to Portland via the backroads. I always seek out Best Western as I have found them to be the superior to other national brands. This one is no exception. Great staff, xlint location and clean, comfortable rooms.
We got in late but the staff was very nice. They shared a few of the activities the area offered after listening to what our interests were. I also received a phone call when they thought we left an item in our room. It ended up not being our item but the fact that the staff would call was above and beyond their duties.
The BW in Kanab is a good place to stay when visiting the area. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options to choose from. We had a few problems with our room, but management quickly moved us to another room. We were very satisfied with our stay at the hotel.
We had no microwave in room. And no ice machine that we ever found.THey have wifii but unable to log on, on any of our devices. I had come to expect these as standards. Room was clean and comfortable. We had easy access to downtown. Walking was on our list and made it easy being close to points of interest.
We enjoyed the cleanliness and appearance of this Hotel. The staff were friendly and overall great. The breakfast was a good variety and tasted great. The check-in people were very helpful in making sure we had a quet area.
Red Hills is a pleasant, clean and quiet place to stay. There is a lovely place to exercise pets. The complimentary breakfast is very good with something for everyone. Eggs, bacon, juice, fruit...yum I have stay there every time I travel thru Kanab.
We had the opportunity to spend a night in Kanab as we were traveling through the area. I had previously read the reviews of this place and decided to book. I have to tell you that we were pleasantly surprised! Yes, renovations are evident but the rooms are very spacious! We also had our little 10# dog with us and this hotel caters to pet families! There is a very nice grass area around back that has benches to sit down, bags for the waste and very well kept. We shared the area with several other pet families and all were very nice. The front desk was very accommodating and very welcoming. When we checked in at 10PM the man upfront welcomed us and even had us laughing with some shared jokes. He ensured that our room was acceptable and that every need was filled. The HVAC system was incredible! The room quickly adjusted to the temperature we set it to and maintained it all night. The beds were very comfortable and we didn't wake up with sore backs. Pillows were excellent. The hot water was plentiful. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that our room did not have a bath tub and only a shower. Not a big deal, but my wife enjoys soaking in a nice warm tub after a day of traveling. Highly recommend this BW! You won't be disapointed!
We like to stay in Best Westerns when we travel to support locals and the quality is usually consistently high. But this hotel is not up to the usual standards. We asked for a quiet room and were cheerfully assured by the desk that we were lucky to be in one of the quietest rooms. It was upstairs, down at the end of the hall, down four steps ( the luggage cart wouldn't go to the door) and over the office and facing Hwy 89. The next morning we were awakened at 5:00AM by banging and talking through the paper thin walls and doors in the office next door. The third night a group checked in at 9:00PM and rolled their suitcases up and down the stairs repeatedly, tried to open all the doors of the rooms at our end of the hall and argued loudly until 9:30PM when a hotel staff person finally put a stop to it. At 11:20PM the same night we were disturbed by someone smoking and playing music and singing through the connecting wall. The next morning it was the 5:00AM wake up by someone smoking again and taking a shower or running water until 5:30AM. The sign on the adjacent room door said OFFICE with a security keypad so we assume the noise came from staff. Quiet it was not! The main building is old and well used and the upstairs floor creaks. But, the room and bathroom were very clean, the linens of high quality and the bed was comfortable. The in-room refrigerator had no adjustment and froze our drinks and fruit. The breakfast options were fresh and the usual fare. The staff were helpful and friendly but this hotel did not meet our expectations. There are 2 story units off the street in the back that seemed unoccupied which may be quieter and newer. We'll try another hotel on our next visit to Kanab.
A nice, modest hotel, with decent rooms and amenities, but nothing flashy. The hallways and interior could do with some sprucing up, but this didn't really affect our satisfaction with the stay, as we were out early in the morning and came back from adventures late in the day. The room was comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. No complaints there.
The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms were clean and attended to daily. The breakfast was good other than the pancake cooker did not work well. The location was nice. We were in walking distance to the downtown shops and eating establishments.
During our annual Snowbird Trek we tend to look for BW hotels. We were visiting Zion and Kanab was a logical stop. The hotel was very quiet, clean ,roomy and had a good breakfast. Our AMA discount made the price even more reasonable. The Rocking Cafe next door is a great place to eat - but try to make reservations.
This hotel was very nicely renovated. While we were there we saw more rooms being redone. The room is nicely laid out with the beds against the back wall so you don't hear the other rooms. They had lots of info for things to do in the area. There is a playroom with ping pong and foosball. The rate was good. This Best Western has the best towels of any one we stayed at. The breakfast area is large, lots of room for everyone.
Basic, good size room with small refrigerator, cable TV, and free WiFi. Would have been nice to have a microwave in the room but otherwise the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only negative thing I would comment on was the flooring. We were in an upstairs unit and the flooring squeaked a lot. Can't imagine what it sounded like below us.
After camping on the northwest rim of the Grand Canyon for 4 nights, I insisted that we leave a day early because I really needed a shower and a real bed. We called Best Western as soon as we got phone reception again and booked their last pet friendly room. When we arrived I didn't have high expectations since the pet rooms are in a separate building in the back, but when we opened the door...I literally felt like there might be angels singing. The room was very clean and more luxurious than anything I could imagine at that price point and with a pet. Clean AND quiet. Best of all...the bathroom was huge and spotless. I think I took 2 showers that night. The breakfast was amazing with just too many choices for one tired and hungry body to absorb. Well done Best Western. Thank you for providing an incredible oasis from cold/dry camping. We look forward to meeting again.
This is an older hotel which could use some upgrading particularly in the bathroom area. The beds were comfortable and the rooms quite quiet. We found the policy of having a separate building for dog owners a bonus as my husband has allergies. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient
We stayed here for three nights. The location is great, the free breakfast is good, and the price was right. It's an average hotel, nothing fancy. We will probably check into other hotels for our next stay, but if we can't find anything better, we aren't opposed to staying here again.
When we arrived at 6PM on Friday night we were told that our room was not ready (we were in a pet friendly room). However, the nice man went out to check and came back and said he was going to put us in a regular room and that it would be okay. The grass area for the dogs was not far from the room but it wasn't as close to the room as it would have been in the pet building but we were fine. The next day we didn't leave our room until 1PM and we expected that our room probably wouldn't get serviced because it was so late. When we arrived at 8:30PM that night we found that our beds were made but the wet towels that we had on the floor in the bathroom were now in the shower and no new towels were given to us. Honestly, it would have been nicer to not have them touch the room than to do half a job. We did see the cleaners in the other rooms cleaning with their children running around. That made me nervous having the kids in our room with all of our stuff while the parents cleaned. Thankfully we still had a couple of new towels left to share! Our garbage cans were dumped but the new bags was laying on the side of the cans and not placed in the can like they were when we checked in. The next day (Sunday) we left the room by 10AM and arrived back at 8PM to find out that our room had not been serviced at all. I was quite disappointed so this marks 2 days with no new towels. We ended up dumping our own garbage this night because it was overflowing (we had brought a lot of our own food so there was a lot of garbage). When we left on Monday I called the front desk to let them know we were checking out and told them of the problems. All he said is he could give me some extra points towards my rewards membership. I will see if that happens but a discount would have been nice. When you stay at a hotel you expect new towels, garbage taken care of and beds made, after all that is what you pay for. For the amount we paid as well as the additional amount for the pets I feel like we paid way too much. It would be nice to get some money back since our room was never fully serviced.
Loved Kanab, Utah. Very quaint. Friendly people. There was a problem with our hotel room. I asked Jimmy Goldstein if he would take care of it. He came promptly and cheerfully and corrected the issue. Best Western Red Hills can give him Kudos for the attitude and helpfulness he gave to us. :)
We love Best Western for their love of pets! Best Western Red Hills is no different:) we were on the ground floor near the pet potty area, good size grassy area complete with poop bags and a trash can, more owners should take advantage of this aminity! Friendly staff and a nice hot breakfast ,pancakes bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs , assorted cold cereals along with a pot of hot oatmeal:) and assorted breads Danish, bananas, apples and fruit cocktail oh and not to forget a selection of yogurts. Very comfy beds and pillows! We will stay here again in the near future!
Have been here before but this last visit was a total mess. Stayed 4 nights and left early due to rude and ignorant other people staying there. Only got 3-4 hours sleep a night while there because people coming in slamming doors, talking like it was the middle of the day and slamming things around in their rooms. Called the front desk numerous times when it was occurring. This was as late as Midnight on some nights. Finally I left after the 4th night instead of staying the full 6 nights as I had planned. Since I was there to help a friend with a workshop I also inconvenienced him and the people attending our photo workshop due to my lack of sleep. I won't be returning to this place ever again.
Room was large and clean. Walls were very think could not sleep either night I was there. Could hear TV next door all night and baby crying/dogs barking. The breakfest was good for the price but was not well rested when left at all.
Love the breakfast over here and wonderful convenient transfer place to national park whatever Utah and Arizona. Can not resist the delicious breakfast. Why not come here to enjoy the real western. Highly recommend.
Hotel is modern, clean, had free WiFi, and our stay included a hot breakfast with a wide variety of foods. Staff very friendly also. We were very pleased with the price ($80/night) considering everything that was there. We were only going to stay in Kanab 1 night, but since it is an EXCELLENT location to the places we were going, we stayed an extra night!
Clean, friendly, location is great! The dogs had a great time and the humans enjoyed themselves too. We were there off season, so I cannot speak to the swimming pool, but its outdoors and that is always a plus! The breakfast was very good as well. All the staff were superb!
I have stayed in this hotel before, 3 years ago. The room seemed updated from our last stay, which was unexpected. The staff was friendly and the hotel location ideal. Breakfast had plenty of choices and the breakfast room was clean. The only problem we experienced was the toilet not flushing properly, which became an issue. The problem was addressed, but the fix didn't work. We were disappointed.
This hotel is conveniently located. It offers a good breakfast. Pancakes were offered, which was a nice change from the typical waffle offered at most hotels. The only issues we had was we wish we had softer pillows, and the sink's drain was very slow.
Clean and spacious, fast internet connection. We had a late check in and most restaurants were closed. There was no microwave in the room and good that there was one in the lobby where we could warm up some foods.
The breakfast was exceptional. Scrambled eggs, bacon, home-made fried potatoes with vegetables and lightly spiced. Yogurt, pastries, fruit, toast, hot porridge and waffles, cereal... I had the hot breakfast and it was very tasty and fresh. Friendly staff. The room is comfortable. This place looks a bit shabby on the outside but don't worry, its fully updated inside.
We checked in early for the balloon and tunes event. Staff was very helpful. Walking distance to the street fair. Recommended by friends who were staying here. Very nice place enjoyed how quiet it was. The bed were very comfortable. Loved the balcony!
We stayed here for a long Event weekend. My only complaint is that when we arrived at 3:30 p.m. our room was not ready and they weren't sure when it would be ready. I had to inquire if it would be 3 or 60 minutes or longer, the clerk said she hoped 30 minutes. We shopped & returned and room was ready. They have a fridge, however no microwave. They have a nice breakfast area and game room for kids. This would be a nice place to stay to visit Bryce Canyon NP and Zion. There is also ATVing in the area. Also Pet friendly.
We had a nice one night stay at this hotel. The employees were very nice and our room didn't have any issues. The beds were comfortable and the towels were nice. In the shower they have dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which was a nice surprise since I have so much hair and normally those little bottles don't cut it. The breakfast had a more stuff than normal and a lot of seating area. We picked this hotel originally because it was the only one we could find that had an open jacuzzi this time of year (February). They also offered us a late checkout when we were running behind after watching the balloon festival. I'd stay here again. If you're in Kanab avoid the Mexican food. What Mexican restaurant doesn't have margaritas anyway?? Go to the rocking v or big als, instead. The coffee shop/outdoors store is also not bad.
The Best Western is a pleasant place to spend a few days when in Utah. The staff is very friendly and helpful about hotel amenities and the surrounding area. The breakfast is simple but enjoyable. And it even has a pancake maker. There is a pool and spa as well as a ping pong table. The place is very affordable and very much a good value.
Great service and nice Hotel. when I revisit Zion I will likely return to stay here. The employees treated us with respect and were very friendly. The rooms were very clean and sanitary. Breakfast was decent, can't argue a free meal before a hike :)
This hotel is approx 1.5 hours from Bryce Canyon. I stayed there for one night on my way to Bryce Canyon. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was super comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful. There was a decent continental breakfast from 06:30 - 1000. The surrounding town has a good assortment of restaurants and bars. I only have 2 complaints - 1. The walls are a bit thin, so I could hear my neighbors debate over where to eat dinner, and 2. I woke up to no hot water in the shower, the staff said there was nothing they could do, and did not offer to compensate me in anyway. As I was hiking it wasn't the biggest deal, would have cared more if I had somewhere important to be.
I have stayed at the Red Hills many times when I have been in the area near Zion National Park. It is a well run, friendly hotel with a great staff. The rates are quite reasonable for a hotel of its high quality.
great value and location . very well run and clean. The service and hospitality were equal to a 4 star hotel and the price was a bargain for the amenities . We would definitely stay again and enjoy the property as well as the surrounding recreational opportunities.
the gym has new equipment and it is all useful & well chosen the "free" breakfast has surprisingly good food of high quality. the servers in the breakfast area are very interested in their customers. the beds were very comfortable & had excellent pillows. the shower head had adequate pressure. the desk was functional & easy to work from. the internet was free & fast!
This hotel has paid attention to all the details that are important to me when I travel. I rarely see ALL the personnel so cheerful, competent and helpful. Everything was spotless and the rooms were spacious. The breakfast is included and was complete including a machine that automatically makes two great pancakes at the touch of a button. I would rate it 6 stars if I could.
This hotel is a bit older, but still an excellent place to stay. The beds were very comfortable. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. They had a great hot breakfast. The hotel is in a great location right in the main part of town with beautiful views.
Nice place. We stayed in their handicap prepared room. Very well done. At check-in, the lady was very helpful in suggesting local restaurants and had several menus to offer. One of the better places was NEDRA'S...a Mexican food restaurant that served excellent Mexican food as well as Western steak items. Prices were not at much as we expected with large portions being served...large enough for two people.
Overall good hotel, good room, good breakfast. Cant beat the proximity to Zion and Best Friends. Third time Ive stayed here in my lifetime. Only negative, non-hotel related, that is nothing to eat in this town. Be prepared.
The location is great, right on main street, stopping hub for the weary traveler. Stayed for one night. PROS: coffee maker, refrigerator, personal items. loved the thick towels! enjoyed great break fast(included). some amenities we didn't used, like treadmill. CLEAN! more discount from the original quoted rate! CONS: we're on the 2nd floor with an adjacent door to another room. whoever stayed there during the night we were there smoked weed(marijuana). my sis-in-law knew the smell. it was coming out from the adjacent room. terribly noisy out the hallway every time suitcases were dragged. Sounds like a train!
We like BW and the one in Kanab, which is why we always stay there. We have on occasion had a few problems that were looked after as a rule. The breakfasts are always good, quiet, good space, good value, convenient, staff helpful--what more is there to say.
The BW Red Hills has been a reliable facility for us in our travels south to Arizona in the winter. This was our 4th year and it continues to provide a clean, safe and comfortable stop over. The room rates are reasonable and the complimentary breakfast is good, The staff at check-in, breakfast and check-out were professional, accommodating and very friendly with warm and sincere greetings and conversation. The convenience to the Rocking V restaurant is an added bonus. We will definitely continue to use this property as we travel south for the winter.
Nice and Cozy Rooms with excellent Breakfast options. 60-70 miles from Grand Canyon from north Rim. Ideal place to stay if you are coming from Zion on your way to Page, Bryce Canyon or North Rim. Make sure you do your bookings well in advance.
The outside of the building looked out dated but the rooms were clean and updated. The location was convenient, close to restaurants, walking distance to many other businesses. Overall it was a very good stay, breakfast was provided. I would stay here again.
Traveling around southwest Utah visiting various parks/sites including Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Choose this Best Western - only there for 1 night. Older hotel, room was dated, but spacious & clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was pretty good - area was clean. Office staff was helpful. We would probably stay here again if we were traveling through.
We found this to be an excellent place to stay as we enjoyed a family vacation that included visiting parks and monuments. Our rooms were spacious and clean. Everything functioned well and the facility is located next door to a terrific restaurant. A free continental breakfast is served each morning that wonderful. The pancake machine is a nice touch and simple to operate. Scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes are available along with fruit, bread and pastry. Plus you can have instant oatmeal or cereal. The staff keeps up with the tables and food. I also noticed a recreation room with table games, a pool and spa. You can also use a coin operated washer and dryer that I on the facility. A microwave is by the lobby. Each room has a refrigerator and coffee pot. All other amenities are included. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a good place to stay.
Very clean and staff was very friendly. The room was huge and very nice and comfortable. They have an awesome recreation room with foosball, air hokey, ping pong and more. The breakfast was the best free breakfast I have ever had at a hotel.
What I look for: clean, comfortable, quiet, at an exceptional rate. (It WAS off-season!) The GREAT spa/hot tub was a wonderful surprise and they even opened it up early for me the last morning as we had to leave before it was scheduled to open! Convenient to everything else in town. Desk staff were friendly, professional, and handled special requests competently and with no drama. Overall good experience and good value
Good, clean, comfortable room. Convenient complimentary breakfast downstairs. Walking distance to restaurants. Great place to stay if you plan to visit Best Friends Sanctuary. Plenty of parking in the back.
Stayed in Kanab Nov 30 - Dec 4th in order to hike the surrounding are (Coyote Buttes, Buckskin Gulch, Zion). It was great to be able to grab a breakfast at the hotel early in the morning before heading out doors for the entire day. The rooms were clean and comfortable if a little basic. Fairly recently renovated by the looks of it.
My daughter and I stayed a night here. It was clean. Beds were comfortable. Quiet. The pool looked nice but it was December. Paid $72 for the night. One of the better breakfasts I have had. I'd go back.
Good clean room and facilities. Friendly staff. But the squeaky floors are over the top! You can't imagine how squeaky with movement the second floor rooms are. I felt so sorry for anyone below our room. Otherwise you get what you expect.
Just spent a week in Kanab, Utah doing some hiking, sightseeing and a little Black Friday shopping. Stayed at the Best Western Red Hills and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations and the staff. The place is clean, quiet, well maintained and extremely comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome and very much at home. The complementary breakfast was great, the time of service (0630-1000 hrs) was perfect and the selection of food available was fantastic. A young man by the name of Kris did an unbelievable job of maintaining the breakfast area. He ensured that, even when the dining area was full of guests, there was never a shortage of food or beverages. He was perpetual motion, keeping the area clean, rearranging tables and chairs, refilling serving containers and interacting with guests in a friendly, professional manner....a staff member that stands out in a guests mind. We're looking forward to another trip to Kanab (we only hiked a few of the hundreds of trails in the area)...and the Best Western Red Hills will definitely be our first choice for accommodations
Great value. Extra-ordinarily helpful "exta mile' front desk staff. Good room. Next door to the best restuarant in AZ and UT we experienced in our 7-day road trip [Rocking Horse Cafe]. Kanab is a lovely town. Best Western was a bonus.
Very nice place to stay in a remote location. The staff were very friendly, professional, and helpful with all our needs. I would recommend the motel to anyone staying in Kanab, Utah. We enjoyed our 3 nights there.
The hotel is old and somewhat dated on the outside. The toilet didn't flush and required a flapper/chain re-connect. There were cigarette butts in a half filed glass of water on the back balcony. The inside of the room was clean. The breakfast was fair. I had stayed in the quality inn at the edge of town 1 month before and it was newer, cleaner, cheaper and had a better breakfast.
"CUZ BEST WESTERN DOES!.'"....I worked there and I wouldn't stay there. They call the infestation " waffles"...and they act like there painting the room while they heat it over night and it does not work! It seems the only thing that will keep them at bay is the black mold from the ill washed showers in the L." Since this is Trip Advisor...I advise you to steer clear of rooms 138-141. For $180 a night you could do alot better. If you happen to stay in room234, the ceiling might fall in on you and you'll end up owning that dump and fix the saftey issues. ESPECIALLY, the hole between romms 130 and 131! The bottom line is the place is missmanaged, and the greed over common sense will be evident as brand new comfort suites looks down on this gilded ghetto
I was very happy with the room. It was clean, smelled good, nice towels, convenient parking, pet friendly. The breakfast was served hot, and there were many healthy choices. Over all, I was very happy with my stay and will stay there again when I get the chance to visit Kanab again.
I booked this hotel through Hotwire. If you are looking for posh, you will not find it here. The interior was a little dated, but very well kept. Room was immaculate and staff were very friendly. A balcony off the room was a bonus. Able to walk to restaurants and shops. Free breakfast had wide variety of food. I would stay there again,
On a Deer hunting trip with my Son-in-law, Sammy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. After a long day of roughing it and hiking, it sure was nice to come back to a comfortable room and accommodating staff at Best Western! Plus! the pool and Jacuzzi were fantastic! Thanks to Sammy, I would highly recommend Best Western Red Hills for anyone traveling southern Utah!
Nice location not far from Zion national park. Rooms are of a good standard with large bathrooms and nice showers. Breakfast here is a definite must as the tattooed lady who's name I'm not sure of works damn hard to make sure guests get what they want. The only downsides are guests smoke right next to others doors so not very pleasant when opening your door to leave your room. Also was going to go in pool but was being emptied should have been told it was shutting for season.
After going around Kanab looking for somewhere to stay at the price they quoted we finally found a place that honored their published prices. The Best Western rooms were nice and very comfortable. Think they might be the best rooms in Kanab. Located almost in the center of the town and close to many places to eat. Their breakfast was good and got us on our way early in the morning
We try to stay at Best Westerns when ever we can as they are almost always reliable and consistent in comfort and affordable. This 2 story hotel has under gone renovation including a added elevator. Which I much very appreciated. It was dinnertime when we checked in and inquired where there was a good restaurant with in walking distance. The clerk recommended 2 and told us the local favorite. We put our suitcases in the room and went to eat dinner. We were not disappointed in our dinner at all. The next morning after a nice breakfast We inquired about a couple of more local sites and again the clerk was more than helpful in telling us what each place was about.
Spent the night after a visit to best friends anima sanctuary. Was neat and clean. Elevator access to floor 2. Breakfast good but not much protein. Would stay there again. Shower had good water temperature.Maybe overpriced but comparative to others
Found listing on Internet. Reasonably priced. Very nice hotel; clean; excellent breakfast; pleasant staff. Central location to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and North Rim Grand Canyon. Beautiful area of Utah and not far from Las Vegas. Near good restaurants and Little Hollywood Film Museum.
The Best Western Red Hills in central Kanab, Utah is an excellent example of the old adage, “looks can be deceiving.” When you pull up to the property, it's not at all impressive; it appears to be a tired, older motel situated in an older part of town. However, once you enter your room and the common areas, that perception quickly begins to change. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had all the necessary modern conveniences, including a flat screen television and enough electrical outlets to charge our many electronic devices. The complimentary breakfast area had plenty of seating area, was well-maintained and offered a very good variety of breakfast options. The location of the motel is excellent, within walking distance of several good restaurants. We were at first concerned at its proximity to the main road, but soon realized that there is never much loud traffic in a small town like Kanab. The one characteristic that particularly struck us was the level of hospitality. Every employee we encountered – be it housekeeping, breakfast staff, front desk or the manager on duty – was very friendly and accommodating. So if you are looking for a comfortable location that can serve as your home base during your visits to Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon North Rim, the Grand Staircase-Escalante or Lake Powell, I would recommend the Best Western Red Hills.
the motel is well located but the rooms are very dated and have musty odor. The bathroon was so bad we did not use the shower. Water pipes banged all night and walls are paper thin. would not stay there again
While visiting sights in southern Utah there's not an over abundance of lodging choices.Tried and true best Western Red Hills in Kanab was great for an overnight while traveling. Updated rooms older property seems very well cared for. great value and friendly staff made this a good choice.
Having read some bad reviews on TripAdvisor the day before we arrived we weren't feeling too confident of the quality here. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the front desk staff at check in [and out, next morning]. We had a room on the upper level near stairs which we thought would make for poor sleep due to everyone having to pass by, but this wasn't a problem. Had a good night's sleep. The included breakfast was good and replenished constantly. The hotel is ideally situated in Kanab right on 89 and just across the road from the Rocking V Restaurant which has to be first choice for dining [we booked a table before checking into the hotel]. We'd stay here again if we return to Kanab and would recommend.
Would stay here again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean room. Got a good nights sleep. They provide breakfast. There is a very good restaurant right beside them, The Rocking V. Also the bathroom was big and spacious.
Had avery nice stay, front desk staff very helpful. Breakfast very good, staff kept checking to see if I needed anything. Not much more to say, just a very good hotel at a good price and excellent service.
This hotel was immaculate. Quiet and up to date. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Shower was strong and hot. We were in Kanab to visit Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and got a discount on our room by mentioning this. Located on the Main Street in Kanab.
This Hotel was great for an overnight stay on our way to our winter home in Arizona. Did not use the many amenities that it offers. The room was quite large and comfortable and conveniently located on the ground floor. You could hear noise from the parking lot, however, it was very quiet later in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful in locating a place for dinner.
We stayed in this hotel on a Friday night. Pros: The room was nice and clean Quiet Loved how the bathroom was separated into the toilet/tub area and the vanity area (so I could put my makeup on when my daughter showered) Cons: The bed was hard for my taste, and I had a hard time sleeping. I woke up very sore. The air conditioner made a terrible sound, like someone using a drill, everytime it came on. The breakfast was not very warm.
We spent three night in room 226. It is connected to a possible adjoining room that's only separated by a door. The first night was quiet. The second night, the party started in the adjoining room at 9pm. It was incredibly loud. It sounded like they were in the room. I called the front desk and they offered to call but I told them no since it was early. They quieted down around midnight but I had to be up @ 6 the next morning. We spent the day hiking and we came back tired. I asked the front desk if there were guests in the adjoining room because I'd ask to be relocated so we could sleep. They told me the people left. We went to bed at 10pm. At 1130, I could hear people through the door and they were trying to get the door open to our room. I tried to call the front desk but hung up after 4 rings and decided to walk down if they continued past midnight. It was quiet by midnight but they got up at 6. The door separation was so irritating. It really does sound like people are directly in your room. Anyway, I went to check out and reported my concern to the front desk . She was nonchalant and stated I should have complained earlier. I let her know I did. Her attitude was the worst part. I won't be staying there again. Unfortunately, the other staff were great but the one front desk experience ruined my entire perspective.
The best word I have to describe this hotel is grubby! In years past this was sort of what you could expect, but now with the "Canyon" lodges available, this hotel is not very acceptable. Our room was in the dog friendly building, carpets very dirty, linens very tired, shower curtain icky. You could tell the housekeepers had done the best they could with a bad situation. We would not stay here again.
All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The services were good and the breakfasts were good. The breakfast hostess was great. We were given help in how to get to places we wanted to visit and restaurants in town that were all good. No bad review here. Had a great time. Would stay here again.
Stayed at Best Western Red Hills Inn in Kanab, Utah Oct 2015. Was great for a stopover. Clean. Helpful staff. Quiet. Breakfast the next morning at the hotel was super. Loved the pancake machine! Lots of variety to the breakfast.
This hotel is OK for a one-night stay but if, like us, you were aiming to stay longer in Kanab, it is probably best avoided. The rooms are reasonable enough, in a sterile, charmless way, and our twin queen beds were exceptionally comfortable, but being accommodated in tired barrack-like buildings is not our idea of a pleasurable experience. However, the truly low point is the Breakfast Room, which is located in the hotel's basement and is devoid of any outside view of the world. Here guests sit morosely munching through food of such awfulness that one of our party described the sausages and scrambled eggs as looking as though they had already been eaten once! The 2 lovely ladies (Sandi and her colleague) whose job it was to prepare breakfast, did their very best with the ingredients at their disposal, but General Manager Ed Nelson and the hotel's owners should be ashamed of themselves for thinking it acceptable to serve such mediocre fare. No self-respecting British hotel would dare serve up the truly abysmal breakfasts we endured during our 6-night stay. And as we were ‘treating' good friends from Utah to the cost of our stay at this hotel, we were more than a little embarrassed at having chosen such a unexceptional establishment.
We were on our way to see the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Very limited hotels close to it. The room was very simply furnished, rather plain, but very spacious. Probably used when families need room for a roll-away bed or crib. We did not need these, so it was roomy, but there was limited space to put our suitcases and other bags. Breakfast room was in the basement, not too welcoming. Thought that the price for hotels in this area was elevated for what you received, but it is a tourist area.
We stayed 3 nights. We were in the main building. Room was clean, comfortable and quite large. The staff was very friendly. Also very accommodating to a special request. Breakfast was typical of included breakfasts. There were several tour groups and the staff at breakfast kept everything full so people could get in and out. Overall a nice place to stay.
Great location for visiting Zion N.P.& Grand Canyon North Rim N.P. Good clean room, good internet, has pool but did not use it. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice, with plenty of space in breakfast room.
Just an overnight stay, room was clean and OK for overnight, if staying longer would enjoy a larger bathroom as this was very small. Bed was hard for my liking but husband likes a hard bed so was pleased. Breakfast was good but OJ dispenser was not working. will stay again.
