This is the absolute best place to stay in Juneau. We have stayed here in the past but usually not this late in the year. Housekeeping is excellent...don't forget to tip them. We used the shuttle from the airport when we arrived and I picked up our rental car the next day. Everything was extremely professional. Management has created a great team and it starts at the front desk. I will single out Galyna as being an excellent host although she is one of many. A smile, a welcome, this is how a short getaway should start. We will return. this i

"Relaxing and unique"
Awaceaho, 03 Septembre 2024

Great breakfast! Friendly staff! The beds are comfortable. Enjoyed the bath tub with jet propulsion - nice after a hike or day in the rain. They also serve dinner. Also enjoyed the cute ambiance - like staying in your grandmother's gingerbread house. The only drawbacks were no on-site laundry but there was laundry one minute away at another location and the room we stayed in had a "decorative fireplace- either make it functional or knock it out and add more windows to get more natural light in the room. Also I would let guests know about refilling your water bottle next to the front desk instead of putting out so many plastic water bottles that pollute the environment. I would definitely recommend this place.

"A Gem of a Hotel!"
Steve O, 27 Août 2024

This is a very comfortable, clean, well-appointed place to stay. Our room was very large, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. They provided a breakfast to-go for us since we had an early flight the next morning. We would definitely stay here again upon a return trip. Highly recommended!

"This was a great choice with pleasant surprises"
X8215DJdougb, 05 Août 2024

Who reviews an airport best western? We made a great choice. Quirky small place with very much a B&B feel. 5 minute free shuttle to airport. 15 minutes to town. Very clean and friendly. Full free breakfast. Free shuttle was a big deal. Juneau is not a cab town and we found Uber to be a bit unreliable. Free shuttle goes to town something like 4x per day and saves a $40 Uber ride. Airport pickup is great. We were very pleased. Shout out to Galyna, who gave us as warm a welcome as we've received at a hotel

"Very Comfortable - But Some Issues"
JoeCBansteadUK, 05 Août 2024

This review is relatively objective - this USA road trip encompassed 5 properties in Alaska over 9 nights and a total of 25 over 47 nights. We stayed for 3 nights in June. Excellent pick up from the nearby airport (no noise)/drop off at the ferry port at Auke Bay. Our Deluxe room was large enough, comfortable and well equipped. Twin beds were not available, so a roll up turned the queen bed room into a twin. The shutters were not blackout, so the early sunrise did intrude. Decent linen and towels. The property, which is an old converted house ,felt welcoming and comfortably ‘non chain hotel' furnished. Plenty of parking out front for those driving. No elevator for anyone with a mobility problem. Check in was efficient, but one of the issues we encountered was that none of the staff had any idea about the public buses that run directly in front of the hotel into town, locally and close to the Mendenhall Glacier NP. Yes there is a shuttle downtown (if you want to experience a massive ‘cruise ship alley' shopping experience ) but the local buses ran everywhere (every 30 mins) and were tremendous value/much more convenient. No attempt made to even find the necessary information for us and no handouts/timetables available. At a hotel of this standard we expected better. Breakfast was to a decent standard, however, we did not appreciate being pestered/hassled upon completing breakfast to order content/time for the following day! A restaurant is advertised both on TA and on the roadside hotel board. Yes, dinner is available, but on a very limited ‘pre order' menu. There is no liqour licence and we were brusquely told that we couldn't drink our own wine with the meal as there were ‘under age' employees on the premises. Not at all acceptable for a hotel of this class/price. Dining atmosphere zero! There are dining options available locally of the pizza/diner variety. What could have been a wonderful experience was marred by the above issues.

"Great Stay Close to Airport"
676NICKH, 15 Juillet 2024

When looking around Juneau for hotels, there isn't a lot of higher end options. Grandma's Feather Bed was a great stay close to the airport. We arrived after midnight and appreciated their 24 hour desk and shuttle. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was made fresh and hot. They have a shuttle into downtown, which runs on a time table so you need to plan accordingly. The hotel is cute and small and fills up quickly. So get a reservation early!

"Cute with some Logistic issues"
Larry E, 02 Juin 2024

This hotel is a converted house and as my wife described it was "cute". There were several positives about the hotel and several items that were not. - The staff was very friendly. - The food at breakfast was pretty good. You had options to eat in the dining room or in your room. However, you had to pick your breakfast and the time (in 1/2 slots) the night before. The same was true if you planned on eating dinner at the hotel. - They have an airport shuttle that is 24x7 (this worked well since we had a 5:20AM flight), and the hotel is only a 5-minute (literally) drive to the airport. This makes it far from downtown and a larger Uber/Lyft cost if you are using them. - The bath/shower area was huge. Nice fluffy towels, and the shower included a whirlpool bath. On the downside, there were french doors right next to the bathroom/shower area, which made it interesting if you got up at night. The toilet was in its own little room with a door, which would not stay open (again only an issue if you have to get up in the middle of the night). - The windows have wooden slats that were easy to close, but not very effective at keeping out light. This is an issue if you like it dark and visit during Spring/Summer when there are 11 hours of Daylight. No room darkening shades. - Free fresh baked cookies! :)

"Business stay"
rsanchondo, 05 Février 2024

Staff and service was very good, and they made you feel at home and cozy. Despite the weather conditions this hotel was helpful in picking you up and assisting you with any questions you may have and will assist you to make your stay comfortable.

"Great Stay!!"
mpedersonSeattle, 31 Décembre 2023

This facility was absolutely charming and so very clean. The breakfast was excellent and we were given the option of eating in the dining room or having it brought to our room. Lots of food and delicious. The room was so clean and appreciated the options for the Keurig. I would recommend Grandma's Feather Bed to anyone coming to Juneau for even just one night. There is a small refrigerator as well. Appreciate the pickup up and drop off at both the airport and the ferry. All the staff was most congenial. Loved the stay!!

"Charming B&B, friendly staff, clean rooms."
65rachelw, 01 Décembre 2023

Grandmas Feather Bed is very charming. I experienced friendly staff that always seemed to be available for close by for any inquiries. Room was clean and orderly, bed comfortable enough. I preordered breakfast to have the next day in the dining room which is very convenient. Food was good, and I didn't have to wait long.

"Personalized and quiet"
marilynbkerr, 23 Octobre 2023

It was nice to be able to preorder breakfast and have it in the lovely open area or in our room. Place was quiet, staff very helpful, location convenient. No elevator, though if needed. They had some main floor rooms.

"The Best in Juneau"
Sue B, 02 Octobre 2023

A wooded oasis in Juneau, Alaska. Like coming home. The furnishings and finishings are what you wish you had in your home. Everything clean and fresh. A cozy dining area; a menu of just right meals cooked as you order. Always fresh coffee, tea, fruit and snacks. No tourist crowds. A beautiful Victorian porch awaits your leisure. Colorful flowers and shady trees make the world go away. Personalized service and a chauffeured van take you back to the real world. A place you would be proud to recommend to your friends.

"A little gem"
Flomij, 04 Août 2023

Our first night was in this hotel and it was so cute and everyone was very friendly. They have a shuttle that will take you downtown and there are buses also. Our second night was downtown at the 4 points by Sheraton and it was much more expensive and far from the level of service and quality of the Best Western. Save money and enjoy a beautiful room by staying here.

"A Unique Property That Really Shines"
FT_FlyinHawaiian, 21 Juillet 2023

I'm a frequent traveler; I spend about 70 nights a year in hotel rooms. My travel plans required two one-night stays near the JNU airport and I decided to split my stays between the two Best Westerns. I'll post a separate review of the Country Lane Inn. This is an interesting property - an old two-story Victorian house converted into a hotel that's more like a Bed and Breakfast. I booked a Queen Room Whirlpool as that what was the cheapest when I made my reservation last October (I know summer/cruise season in Juneau is peak, so wanted to lock in a reasonable rate). My room was on the second floor; note that there's no elevators so one must carry any luggage up the stairs. The room was immaculate and showed no sigs of wear and tear. I was very much impressed with this; it shows that the management of this property is on top of things and concerned about their guests' experience. Kudos for that. The large whirlpool bathtub was really nice after a 14 hour travel day from NYC. I didn't turn on the jets, but my weary bones were much happier after a long soak. Nice dorm fridge, small microwave, and Keurig machine in the room, along with a small sitting table for two. My welcome amenity for my Platinum status was two bottles of Kirkland water, two Kirkland nut bars, and an eye mask (helps with the bright Alaska evenings and early mornings). Very friendly staff (Cody and Nina). I didn't partake of the free breakfast, but my understanding is that given the limited seating in the breakfast area, guests are encouraged to place to-go orders and eat in the rooms. No issues finding a parking space in the lot. If I am ever in Juneau again, I would make this my first choice of where to stay.

"Best shower ever!!"
Susie B, 13 Juillet 2023

The shower room that we had was the best of any accessible room we have ever had! The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We will be back again next week!! Thanks.

"A great night's sleep and full bellys!"
418reneea, 13 Juillet 2023

A perfect stay! Quiet. Clean! Great breakfast and snacks for the day! Shuttle drivers are the best! Thanks Romy for taking us to Auke Bay yoga twice on our trip! A 10 star stay! Highly recommend from 2 frequent travelers from MN!

"Excellent, quaint little place"
DTP49, 10 Juillet 2023

My stay at this place was wonderful! Comfy bed, jacuzzi in the room, large TV, etc. Good, hot breakfast every morning. The staff here is awesome! Shout out to Fejie and Nina in particular who were always helpful and very pleasant. I'm coming back here in a couple days after Glacier Bay and am glad to know I have nothing to worry about with lodging.

"Beautiful location!"
jessmarkle08844, 09 Juillet 2023

Beautiful hotel, room was adorable, staff were very helpful. Provided service to and from the airport and to the downtown area. Highly recommend a visit when you are in the area. Provided breakfast bags for those of us that were in a hurry or a sit down for those that could take their time.

"Unforgettable Stay"
asorens, 08 Décembre 2022

Celebrating our wedding anniversary at Grandma's Featherbed has become somewhat of a tradition for us the last few times we've visited Juneau. When looking for a place that's cozy, comfortable, charming, quaint and unique you won't find another place in Juneau like it. We've stayed in several different rooms and each one is special in its own way. Our absolute favorite feature are the giant jetted tubs in each room. Nothing more relaxing! On our most recent visit we ordered breakfast and it was delivered promptly to our room, hot and fresh from the kitchen. My custom omelette was delicious, and I still think about it weeks later. It was that good. When we travel one of the things that makes a difference are the people we encounter. The staff here were friendly and attentive, and made our experience top notch. You will not find another Best Western like this. Think of it more as a B&B than a hotel. We will be back!

"Total letdown"
Alicann014, 19 Septembre 2022

We were so looking forward to our stay here in what appeared to be a very cosy quant private establishment with historic charm, friendly service, remarkable amenities and close to local attractions. What we were given was a cosy quant room with a very uncomfortable bed with terrible pillows. Our breakfast which was included with our expensive nightly rate offered very poor choices and we had to pre order based off a very poor verbal description and arrived at our door in a takeaway pack. My selection of oatmeal which I expected to be home cooked, as in a supermarket style microwave container which was 22% sugar. It tasted like a bowl of sugar. Even the cutlery was plastic. I'm unsure what their remarkable amenities were but I did not see them and their customer service was found to be on most accounts less than friendly and hospitable. We are travelling throughout Canada and Alaska over 42 days with about 30 accommodation changes, and this was on our upper end of cost per night and by far the worse. Shame on you Best Western.

"EXCELLENT"
LuvToTravel0899, 15 Septembre 2022

We have been to Juneau many times and this is the place we choose to stay at if it is available. As it is the smallest Best Western it is wise to book in advance. The place is spotless and the front desk help is excellent. Don't forget to tip the housekeeping staff as they do an above and beyond job. We will return next summer.

"Good night stay"
Heather D, 12 Septembre 2022

We stayed here for one night when our plane got in late at night. It is close to airport. They have a free airport shuttle that was very convenient. It is a cute little place. Our room was very clean and nice. We had a little kitchen area, but walked right into the bathroom/shower area and then separate room for the bed after that. They deliver breakfast to your room and it was a very big and good burrito with bacon, and potatoes. Then they have a shuttle at 9am to downtown Juneau.

"Definitely come here again!!"
782barbarak, 31 Août 2022

We went in a fishing trip to Tanaku Lodge and wanted to come see Juneau a few days earlier and needed to stay 1 night after our fishing trip ended also. Booked Grandma's Feather Bed for both before and after and we are so happy that we did! What a quiet and quaint hotel! Wonderful staff and amazing customer service! They go over and beyond to accommodate you! Our breakfast for the 2 mornings were delivered to our room at the time we had specified. It was quite good!! On our return trip they picked us up at the spot that we were let off from our fishing trip and stored our frozen boxes of fish for us until our flight the next morning! Gave us a breakfast to go in a brown bag since our flight left at 5:20 am. Had our fish ready for us and took us to the airport. If we ever end up coming back to Juneau we will definitely be staying here!!! Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable!

"Great Atmosphere, Technical Difficulties"
RPrice95, 27 Juin 2022

Grandma's Feather Bed definitely lives up to most of the positive reviews. From the gorgeous location, to the quaint room setup, and the delicious daily breakfasts, this was a truly comfortable experience. However, only about half the staff (namely the women who worked there) were helpful in making sure both me and my father had enjoyable stays. Several members of staff were simply indifferent toward guests. In addition, we came to Juneau during a small heat wave and our rooms got uncomfortably hot (at least for East Coasters) and the thermostats did not do anything to cool them down. I understand many parts of Alaska don't offer AC due to the nature of the climate, but I was hoping there might be blackout curtains available to help with the summer light and heat. My favorite part about Grandmas Feather Bed though, was the daily complimentary shuttles they offer to the airport (24/7) and to downtown (9 am drop offs and 7:15 pickups, when scheduled ahead), given that the B&B location is about a 15 minute drive from downtown and there is very limited rideshare availability in Juneau. Keep in mind that as of June 2022, the dining area is still not open due to COVID precautions, so all meals do need to be scheduled ahead of time and will be delivered to your room.

"Nice place, but some oddities"
iu92, 22 Juin 2022

The room was clean and nicely decorated, and bathroom seemed to be recently updated. Our room faced the road, which unfortunately meant that we heard road noise periodically during the night. (And we had asked for a quiet room but were told we were the last ones to arrive.). The other extremely irritating thing was that all windows in the room (and there were many) had Venetian blinds, which did not block out the light! Since the sun started coming up around 3:30AM, this makes no sense! Blackout curtains would be so much more useful. There was a set of French doors separating the bathroom and the bedroom that were awkward and in the way. It would be much better if those were removed. We found it odd that we had to choose a time for our breakfast to be delivered since this was a Best Western, but it was a very tasty breakfast burrito.

"Not as good as expected"
Peggy W, 21 Juin 2022

The rooms are beautiful. The breakfast was hot and prompt. However, if you are counting on shuttle, please be prepared to not be satisfied. The first night we were left in the rain because the young man behind the counter gave us the wrong pickup location. So after waiting for over a half an hour in the rain, we were told to move to another location. The second evening even though we had requested pickup at the correct location we still had to call multiple times to be picked up. I tried calling both managers as there apparently isn't any on-site to express our dissatisfaction but was only able to leave a message and so far have not received a response from either of them.

"Comfort with friendliness"
Pavane1946, 16 Mai 2022

Small, cozy hotel with friendly and helpful front staff. Rooms are extremely clean, worth high comfortable bed. Shower was in our room (first floor) but that really isn't a problem. Rain shower head was just lovely. Room includes a refrigerator and coffee maker, internet works well. Restaurant area was closed (Covid) but a lovely custom cooked full breakfast was delivered to the room. Only caveat is that the bed really is extremely high, so not good if mobility challenged. There are rooms on the first floor but no elevator for rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor.

"Unique B & B"
travelair2015, 15 Mai 2022

Beautiful Victorian house with updated amenities. We had a room on the top floor behind a door at the top of the stairs to keep the area quiet. There is no elevator so keep that in mind. The floors do squeak, so I don't know what it's like to stay on the first floor. Sound of folks above you may be distracting if that bothers you. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. I did find Juneau to be more expensive than expected.

"Beautiful Hotel!"
almawilliams, 22 Mars 2022

My boyfriend and I were welcomed warmly, and it felt like we were staying at a relative's home. The room was clean, and quiet at night. I am vegan, so the staff made my potatoes vegan for breakfast. Also, the staff was very helpful with suggestions for exploring Juneau.

"Astonishingly poor customer service."
David z, 09 Février 2022

This hotel, along with their sister Best Western Country Lane has unresponsive and poor customer service. I booked a 3 night stay at the Featherbed. When I arrived to check in, I was told that they were overbooked. I was asked to move to the country lane. I agreed. When I arrived at the Country Lane facility, my 3 night reservation at the Featherbed had been cancelled and Country Lane could only accommodate me for 1 night. It took the I stayed the night in a saggy queen bed and enjoyed the clomping and creaking of the night staff coming and going. I had to work early, so around 8 am, I started calling the manager. The manager was not available, so I was put through to a voice mailbox that is full. I attempted 3 other calls to the manager and left my number with the desk clerk. No calls. If you relish saggy beds, noisy rooms and cherish the absence of customer service, this is the place for you.

"Thanksgiving Stay"
tisab2019, 26 Novembre 2021

Thank you for being a haven for a relaxing stay in Juneau. My husband and I are commercial fisherman. We surely appreciated our stay here. One of the only hotels in Juneau that I felt safe in. The staff were great. Breakfast was perfect~ breakfast burritos and pancakes via room service. Laundry could be done at their sister property down the street at a very reasonable price. Finally, can I just say the featherbed is so comfortable...what a way to start off thanksgiving, watching football in complete comfort.

"So pretty!"
kaw202021, 05 Novembre 2021

Business trip. A very quick turn around one. Hotel staff...excellent! Hotel stay. Amazing. The jacuzzi was exceptional. So relaxing and just a fun bonus. The room was clean and I loved the huge queen bed!

"Amazing room"
MyMytheguy, 05 Septembre 2021

the room was gorgeous customer service outstanding everything was more than expected i definitely would recommend this hotel and their rooms to anybody thank you bestwestern for the amazing stay you will be seeing me again!

"Juneau, Alaska"
brucelC4342SP, 03 Septembre 2021

My husband and I stayed at Grandma's Feather Bed while visiting Juneau for four nights. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful during our stay. Breakfast was included with the price of our room. Due to COVID-19, we were given two choices and we could select the time we wanted the breakfast delivered to our room. It was delivered to us hot and on time. The room was large with a queen sized bed and included a small refrigerator as well as a table and chairs for our meals. Our only complaint about the room was that it had windows with wood blinds on one wall that shared the hallway. The light had to be kept on in the hall for guests and it could be seen through the blinds. Other than that, the room was very clean and the bedding was comfortable. On our second stay a week later, we had a different room and did not have the light problem. If you stay at this hotel, you should have a rental car if you plan to visit the Mendenhal glacier and the city of Juneau. It is located close to the airport, which is about halfway between the city and the glacier. We knew this when we made our reservations, so we were prepared and rented a car. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Quaint & Charming"
helentugan2021, 20 Août 2021

This place is amazing! The rooms are terrific, the staff is very nice and helpful & the breakfast is delicious. It's also nice that it's smaller and has more of a B&B feel to it. We would definitely stay here again.

"Grandma's Feather Bed is Just that"
Nwingenbach, 17 Août 2021

As we pulled up, I was charmed by the flowers, front porch with rockers and the over all "home like appearance. As I entered, the ambiance was comfortable and warm. When I saw my room, I was delighted with the four poster bed with quilt, room arrangements and the cleanliness. Overall\\, a very special place to stay.

"Come back after covid"
Carl L, 03 Août 2021

We booked months ahead on the basis of prior ratings and comments but failed to check back. The charm of this place is (or would be) as a spacious B&B with some nice common areas and a nice breakfast. Currently, it provides only in-room and "grab and go" breakfasts, delivered in a grocery bag with disposable plates and utensils, and the common areas are not available, except to staff. The vent fan in our bathroom did not function and the windows were sealed. Also, be warned that the shuttle to town operates only once in the morning and once in the evening. Finally, when we had to leave for an early flight, the "grad and go" breakfast that we ordered never turned up -- no one at all was manning the desk when we left. Perhaps the short staffing is also attributable to covid, but whatever the reason I would not book here until things return to normal.

"This is a low quality airport hotel"
Dale K, 18 Juillet 2021

The rooms are not like the photos on the website. The manager closed off the restaurant, lobby, and sitting area, because his family was in town and he wanted to use them. There was no turn down service until the last day of a 6 day stay. The only convenient restaurant is Dominoes Pizza. It is a $60 round trip fare into town. We moved to the Sheraton in town and the experience there was like heaven to Grandmas. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I liked. The staff however was excellent and helpful. Other than the staff the only reason to stay here is if you hve a quick airport layover. 10 minutes walking disance to the airport.

"Very nice hotel with quaint rooms...."
YuontoGo, 10 Juillet 2021

We spent one night here after returning from an Alaskan Dream Cruise and leaving for home. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. Our room was a little weird because the bathtub was in the middle of the sleeping area. We've never seen that before. Otherwise, it was a very good room. The hotel is close to the airport, but far away from downtown Juneau. So if you are going to be going into Juneau a lot, you will need a car or use the shuttle.

"Avoid and stay in downtown"
nomadic_nil, 10 Juin 2021

Best Western Grandma's is located in the Mendenhall Valley. It is within walking distance from the airport but an almost 20 minutes drive to downtown. Many tours start from downtown. If you do not have a rental car, you might end up spending quite a bit on cab rides. Also, the valley area has very few restaurants. After our 1st night, we ended up going downtown every day for food. They have a shuttle service to downtown - 9 AM outbound, 7 PM inbound. The room was charming. We loved it! Their breakfast was fantastic. The room was very noisy, though. It was next to the main road. Constant car noise from the road. Also, it's an old building. There was always a creaking noise from the 2nd floor whenever someone was walking. One day it went on until midnight, and it was not fun- I had a hard time getting sleep. Also, there were no views from the room - except the parking lot! I think many of the hotels in the downtown area have excellent views of the bay. Overall, it was okay. But, just for convenience, downtown hotels might be a better choice.

"Beautiful rooms"
akangel21, 21 Mars 2021

I have been a repeat guest of Juneau's Best Western , but it wasn't until this year that I had the chance to stay at Grandmas Featherbed. The rooms are lovely. The reasons i prefer to stay with them over other places, are that nearly always the customer service is excellent, meals are excellent, amentities and room are also excellent. Despite a few non excellent things that went awry with this trip, at least my room was * excellent.

"Reminds me of home!"
4beautifulgirls, 27 Janvier 2021

Staying at Grandma's Featherbed is like being a kid again and staying over at my grandparents house. It's the preferred place to stay whenever I travel to Juneau. Comfortable, cozy and friendly. I always feel welcome here.

"This quaint hotel made our trip amazing!"
162lacip, 24 Août 2020

We had a wonderful trip to Alaska and could not be more pleased with our accommodations! Our family of 4 stayed at Grandma's Feather Bed. The staff went above and beyond to tend to our needs and treated us so well. We could see that they enjoyed their work and always made sure we had what we needed on our way out the door. The room was very clean and comfortable. And the huge jacuzzi tub was perfect after a day of hiking and fishing :) There's no better way to relax at the end of the day! We are so happy with our stay and would highly recommend Grandma's Feather Bed to everyone!

"very confused"
steve100, 14 Juillet 2020

After my stay I had to go back and reread the past comments to see if I had missed something in the reviews trying to see why mine was much different that others who had posted. It started off poorly with several main issues. I called 2 weeks prior to ask about the laundry availability. The person who answered said he was new on the job and didn't know and no one was around to ask. I pre-requested a quiet room and got room 131. It's located closest to the front entrance, near the staff closet and breakfast area. She pointed to the room and I knew this was going to be less than good. And of course it was. The staff supply closet is inches from the room door. Needless to say it was noisy. The couple or large family above our room sounded incredibly loud until late night and starting at 0500 on all mornings. Second. The web site states there is on site fish freezer locker available. I arrived with 3 boxes of fish to keep frozen. The attendant said the locker was not open and to take the fish back to the airport freezer. I left and couldn't find it and returned and she called and found that it was not open either. I'm starting to get nervous about my thawing fish.. After several phone calls, she found a near by hotel with a working freezer.... $120 for 3 boxes for 4 days. When I returned from the second trip to drop off the fish she said the owner would refund $40. That did't happen then or at check out. The hot water did't work on the main bathroom sink. I told the front desk and it took over 2 days for them to finally tell me that the cold and hot was accidentally reversed. The good The bed was very comfortable. The bath/shower was very big... Oddly, you walk into the bathroom from the door in room 131. The breakfast was great! Hot and plentiful with good variety over the 4 days. Look at my other reviews. I'm and easy traveler to please. This was not a great stay.

"Fun - Quaint!"
RossM364, 12 Juillet 2020

Good place, easy to like. Neat old home converted to hotel. Close to a lot ! Only downer was the noise from the lobby. A staffer kept a TV running all night we could hear our room. Otherwise very nice.

"Great hotel in Juneau!"
104loriv, 29 Février 2020

I have stayed at most of the hotels in Juneau, and this is definitely the best so far! Charming Victorian bed-and-breakfast style that feels like home. The room was quite spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was more spacious than the one in my own home! The room was so quiet and peaceful that I didn't need ear plugs or sleeping pills to get a good nights rest. The breakfast was included and was freshly made-to-order; just fantastic! Great value. This will be my go-to Juneau hotel from now on. The only sort-of drawback is that it is not downtown, so you will need a rental car to get to your business meetings.

"Wonderful stay for our first anniversary"
SybrinaS, 06 Février 2020

Best Western Grandma's Feather Bed was an amazing place to stay. The facility is very close to the airport, but you are not disturbed by planes flying overhead. Was able to check in early and shuttle was provided at anytime of day or night. Home cooked breakfast was amazing. The staff was pleasant. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. I could not have asked for anything more to celebrate this special occasion.

"Charming B&B type "hotel" with GREAT food"
Larry G, 05 Février 2020

Stayed here a couple of times when visiting my daughter in Juneau! Lovely rooms and excellent food--breakfasts included and good dinners too! Helpful staff. Not far from airport and shuttle van service provides local service.

"Wonderful personal service in a quaint Victorian home. I cannot day enough about this tiny hotel. Fantastic staff."
Sara H, 30 Janvier 2020

The staff made us feel like we were Guests in their own home. I've traveled over 50'days in motels this year and this was by far the best. Every room is different and charming. The beds were super comfortable and we had the cutest little dinning set in the cupola of the Victorian style building where we ate our meals. They have a huge menu in a tiny restaurant that will deliver to your room at no extra charge. If they added a bar this place would be off the charts but I still give 5 stars.

"Great weekend getaway"
mzoie38, 25 Janvier 2020

The country cottage theme to this hotel was great. I loved the soft/calming colors in the room I stayed in. Unexpected have a jacuzzi in the room was awesome too. I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Juneau. :)

"Great out-of-the-way place, with good shuttle service"
MarkMarshall, 25 Septembre 2019

This was our first overnight land accommodations on a three-week trip covering Alaska and Yukon Territory. (We had arrived on the Alaska state ferry -- a great way to travel, and we had a stateroom.) I was dubious of the name Grandma's Feather Bed when our Homer-based travel agent gave us her suggested itinerary, but she proved to be "right-on", The travel agent, Carol Pripgas. knows exact;ly where to go.

"A unique and delightful guest experience!"
Linda C, 04 Septembre 2019

Spending a night at Grandma's for a solo business traveler feels more like being welcomed into a friend's home than a hotel. The service is excellent, and the restaurant offers wonderful choices in a comfortable setting.

"Upgrade to Grandma's Feather Bed"
Ann H, 04 Septembre 2019

We normally stay at BW Country Inn but they were overbooked and asked us to upgrade to Grandma's. We were happy to do it. Grandma's Feather Bed BW hotel is excellent. It is a quaint little hotel in Juneau, AK. Each room has a 4 poster feather bed. Most rooms have a jetted tub and the decor is likened to visiting Grandma's house. The food in the little restaurant is superb. Definitely a go to place even if not staying at the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. A great place to stay.

"ABSOLUTELY PERFECT"
LuvToTravel0899, 25 Août 2019

We stay here every time we return to Juneau and the place is unchanging and I mean that in a good way. The staff is friendly and helpful. A big shout out to Mekela who was working the front desk and always had a smile on her face. Housekeeping keeps this Best Western the "Best of the Best". If you are going to Juneau stay here....you won's be disappointed. (Our favorite room is 202)

"July vacation"
reg140fgr, 22 Août 2019

Had a clean and well kept room with its own whirlpool tub. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided an amazing breakfast, with a made to order menu and center table full fuits, cold cereal and pastries. Well worth the high price for night.

"Juneau Visit"
sdjsjj, 18 Août 2019

Grandma's Feather Bed was a fabulous place to stay while we were in Juneau! The room was very large, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included Continental Breakfast choices or ordering off a menu. It was a wonderful place to stay.

"friendly service and quaint and comfortable"
Bertha_SAT, 06 Août 2019

We were lucky to find this place on a short notice. Running away from a bad hotel somewhere else in town. Very friendly service, they have a shuttle downtown and to the airport. There are only 14 rooms (I believe) and they were redone recently. Every room is different, ours (204) had bright colors, jacuzzi tub and a fireplace. Very happy with our stay.

"Clean, comfortable, quiet, good restaurant, rooms vary greatly in size"
sierrastew, 17 Juillet 2019

We spent two nights at Grandma's. It is about 1/2 mile from the airport, on a main road. We arrived late and, as we had a large heavy bag, were given the (last?) main floor room (two story property, stairs only), which was quite small for a hotel: there was a queen bed; entire room (except for shower and toilet room) could be covered by the area of 5 or 6 queen beds. Open doors showed that some other rooms were far, far larger. We were happy to stay there and would do so again. Hotel shares a shuttle with the other Best Western that is a block away. Hotel is 15 minute drive from downtown; shuttle leaves every two hours starting at 0700. We used the shuttle to the airport. Restaurant serves 3 meals per day; good varieties for breakfast includedwith the room; some locals come there to eat. Prices are reasonable for Alaska.

"Good location, good customer service"
WYOR, 04 Juillet 2019

This is near the airport, which means it's really about 7 miles from Juneau. But it's quiet and feels more like staying in a B&B than a chain motel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. On one of our days there, there was a small plumbing issue and the hotel staff was great about getting things fixed up in a way that didn't inconvenience us. We'd definitely stay there again next time we're in Juneau.

"Just like a B&B"
Lochmuir, 27 Juin 2019

Loved the quaint little hotel, great hot brew and service. I will definitely stay there again in the future. Better than a chain big hotel and the location was very accessible rather than being downtown with all of the cruise ship traffic.

"Absolute gem in Juneau"
George S, 06 Juin 2019

This quiet, lovely retreat is the best combination of four-star hotel service, and the welcome comfort of a upscale B&B. The room was comfortable and quiet. The included cooked-to-order breakfast was among the best in town, and the very attentive, friendly staff made you feel like part of a big family. We plan on visiting Juneau again, and would not consider staying anywhere else. Thanks for a fantastic week.

"Charming and Interesting"
Carol S, 05 Mai 2019

Beautiful rooms with giant jetted tubs, every room different! Delicious full breakfast, made to order, included with room! Rated 4 instead of 5 because of very slow service at Sunday morning breaktast due to restaurant popularity, and frequent noise due to thin walls and very squeaky floorboards above me.

"Happy Upgrade"
Cleo218, 28 Avril 2019

What a pleasant establishment. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The staff were each an everyone pleasant and good at their jobs. We really appreciated the complimentary downtown shuttle. No need for a car rental. The food both at breakfast and dinner was very good. Even leaving for the airport (close by) at 3:45 a.m. wasn't problematic. Highly recommend it.

"Good Stay"
Escape21517490299, 01 Avril 2019

A very comfy and relaxing stay. The hotel was and always is very clean. The staff is very helpful and will try to assist you in anyway they can. The breakfast options in the morning are great and taste very good.

"Comfortable hotel - good proximity to airport"
LoveTraveling411, 15 Mars 2019

We stayed at Grandma's Feather Bed two times on our trip to Alaska - once on our way to Glacier Bay National Park, and then again the night before flying home. The proximity to the airport was extremely helpful to our early morning flight schedule, and the drivers were so accommodating to take us wherever we needed to go. The room was comfortable, although I will say that the room we chose was a little loud. We were warned about this because it is directly over the breakfast room and lobby, but we chose it anyway because it had a king-sized bed. The staff were accommodating to anything we asked. My only disappointment is that we didn't book the restaurant in advance - it was totally booked for both of the dinner times we were there. We had heard great things about it and wanted to try it.

"First Rate Hotel"
bipperjean, 24 Février 2019

This is an awesome hotel. I needed to check in early and they worked with me to get me in right away. The room they had was under the stairs and they were afraid my husband would not get the rest he needed. When I told them he could sleep through almost anything, they let us right in. Instead of waiting til 3p.m. to check in, I was able to get a room for my husband by 9 a.m. The room was so clean and comfortable. I loved the tub. After my travels it was nice to relax. The noise from the stairs was minimal. The food in the restaurant was excellent as well. My husband had slept in an airport the night before and was really tired so it was nice they let us in right away so he could get the rest he needed.

"Exceptional"
HeidiM929, 21 Février 2019

This is the best place to stay in Juneau. The breakfast was fabulous and our room was very attractive, appealing, clean, and nice. We felt pampered. The staff was helpful and friendly. It's a great location to just come and go from. The outside of the building could use some updating but don't let that scare you away. The inside is nicely decorated and extremely pleasant. We would definitely return here.

"Loved the bed, the jacuzzi tub in the room and the hot breakfast in the moring"
wrldwandr, 13 Février 2019

This was my second time staying at Grandma's feather bed. I stayed in room 206 that has a great comfortable queen bed and a day bed in it. It is beautifully decorated and i sure took advantage of the wonderful jacuzi tub. They also have shuttle service into downtown Juneau and back. The shutlle will also drop off at the hospitals and shopping centers. Loved it! I highly recommend staying there.

"Dont stay here"
Caleb W, 07 Janvier 2019

I dont like to write bad reviews but I feel I must. I wouldnt even give this one star, I am incredibly dissapointed in the staff of this hotel. Instead of giving us the room we pre-ordered, they gave us the loudest room there. (Which is known for it) when we asked to change, the receptionist rude and annoyed. We called the manager to see what we did wrong and she was even passive aggresive. "What am I supposed to do about it" she says. Wont stay there again unfortunately

"Cozy, comfortable, clean, quaint"
804stacye, 22 Novembre 2018

Great place to stay and eat. My husband and I had a weekend getaway and stayed in a clean well-apportioned second floor room with king size bed and down pillows. The split level room had French door entry to a spacious double sized jet tub with shower. Towels, linens, and bedding were fresh and clean. Fridge, microwave, iron, hair dryer, shampoo, lotion, and Keurig were appreciated. Staff very friendly. Free Breakfast included options of continental (muffins, yogurt, melon, juice, milk, coffee, tea); or hot breakfast with choice of three items (eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, French toast, herbed potatoes, toast). Dinner is also a good venue usually with a specialty salmon or halibut entree, along with mainstream items that kids will like.

"Quaint and Cozy Hotel"
Footprints710257, 11 Octobre 2018

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful, clean and relaxing. The restaurant served up a delicious, hot and hardly meal in a cozy and comfortable dining room. The complimentary breakfast was tasty too. We will stay again if we are in Juneau as well as recommend it to others. It is conveniently located a short distance from the airport.

"The best place to Stay in Juneau, AK"
Bob R, 28 Septembre 2018

Whenever I am in Juneau I always make it a point to stay at the Best Western "Grandmas Feather Bed" hotel. The people are always extremely pleasant and the room beyond charming! I haven't even mentioned the quaint restaurant and the free home cooked breakfast that awaits. You owe it to yourself to experience this hotel, just minutes from the airport and Mendenhall Glacier. Our third week long stay since 2013 and can't wait for our fourth. Bob & Lisa Raper, Elizabeth City, NC

"Great Place to Stay!"
Laura N, 30 Août 2018

My husband and I stayed here during our last couple of days of our Alaska Trip for our 20 year wedding anniversary. We had a lovely romantic room. Laura and Mechayla we wonderful young ladies that had great recommendations. Felt like I was leaving family on check out day. We only had breakfast here, and really enjoyed the front table by the window. We would definitely come back!

"Glad we stayed here!"
CindyC2292, 23 Août 2018

A very late review - stayed here in Jan. 2017 for a week. We drove from So. Cal. to Juneau (yes, during the winter). The place is very clean and comfortable with large rooms. The food is well prepared and was very good! You can do your laundry at their sister hotel down the street. Free shuttle to the airport was on time and a godsend. Ben (at the front desk) is definitely an asset and gave tips on where to go, what to see, etc. - very nice young man! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

"Convenient and clean"
Southernpoultry, 22 Août 2018

Grandmas featherbed close to the airport very clean very friendly with a nice selection of breakfast. The cold selection is free while there is a charge for a hot breakfast. Shuttle to the airport was very easy to use and on time. Also able to drop off frozen goods to be kept in the freezer overnight. I stayed in room 201 which is a very large room very pretty on the front of the hotel. As you can tell from the pictures it is a nice small Best western very pretty little hotel. 201 is on the front of the building so surprisingly there is a little road noise and also there are lights in the front of the building. Also steep stairs to get to your room if you have heavy luggage probably you should select the ground floor.

"helpful staff"
John E, 13 Août 2018

Mechaela was on duty when we arrived and was super helpful. She had some great tips on a local lunch spot and how to get around town. Friendly and helpful staff really makes a difference. Thanks Mechaela!

"Don't ask for a king size bed"
TOM Z, 31 Juillet 2018

Quaint Best Western hotel. Each room is different similar to a bed and breakfast. Not worth the extra money over the standard Best Western down the street (same owner). No king size beds!!! Staff was OK nothing special, not very helpful.

"Small hotel with restaurant; not to be confused with another nearby Best Western"
nedtraveler, 28 Juillet 2018

This is a delightful small hotel, close to the airport but many miles from downtown Juneau. It is associated with Best Western, and must be one of the most unusual Best Western's. But be careful: our taxi driver left us off at a different Best Western about a quarter mile away. The two hotels share a shuttle service, so we were driven to the proper venue in the shuttle, and to the airport the next morning. The quaint hotel is located on a busy street with a quiet wooded area behind. Every room has a Jacuzzi bathtub, which can sort of accommodate two people; it also has a shower. Our room was attractive, with a comfortable bed, a mini-fridge, and a toilet in a room separate from the sink and the tub. The small hotel has a small, pleasant-appearing restaurant. We were initially disappointed to learn that the restaurant was closed the evening we were there, but then pleasantly surprised to discover that on days the restaurant is closed, the kitchen is still functioning and you can order room service from the menu. (The portions are large, the food was good though not great, and the place apparently does not have an alcohol license. People leaving for early morning flights are nicely accommodated by grab-and-go breakfast bags and/or a partial breakfast buffet that was ready before 5 a.m.) The person who served us at the front desk was helpful.

"A great choice in Juneau"
Kathleen E, 24 Juillet 2018

We stayed here for three nights before getting on a cruise and really enjoyed it. The location is outside of Juneau in the Mendenhall Valley very close to the airport. On the one hand, there is not much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but the staff are very helpful with information about where to go and how to get there, there is a shuttle to the downtown area every two hours, and we liked being out of the cruise ship crowds. Our room (137) was good sized with a large jetted tub in the room. The only downsides to our room were (1) there was not enough storage space for us to unpack very much at all -- no dresser and a very small wardrobe, (2) the blinds did not shut out light very well, and (3) we were right by the back door and staff came in and out very early in the morning. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

"Excellent service and charming small hotel"
hyjsu, 13 Juillet 2018

The service are friendly, helpful, and efficient. They have very spacious room and a divided bathroom with large whirl pool tub. They provide free shuttle services to the airport, terminals, and downtown. It comes with breakfast which is made to order and delicious.

"Wonderful place to stay when Juneau"
Tim S, 11 Juillet 2018

When good customer service is getting harder to come by, this hotel/B&B never disappoints. Great food, incredible included breakfast, quaint and clean accommodations and wonderful staff. Employees were very accommodating to all our needs.

"Delightful and charming"
lungyueh, 08 Juillet 2018

We were delighted with this charming B&B/Best Western hotel. We got B&B feel and hotel services combined. The staff are friendly and efficient. We were surprised by the super large whirl pool tub in the room and thoroughly enjoyed the luxury! On top of that we got free shuttle services from the airport and to downtown in the evening. It even dropped us off to another Hotel to meet our cruise leader the next day! Excellent!!!

"Stay here"
JimJanetCA, 29 Juin 2018

Better than a large hotel...quiet and small, even through on a larger road and next to larger lodging/retail.....locations I normally avoid, but this worked out perfect for us. Rooms were clean, service and breakfast were fine. Tons of parking. We'd stay here again.

"Wonderful boutique style hotel. "
JamesGrey7, 20 Juin 2018

We had a great experience at this little hotel. It is a repurposed, adorable vintage house. Nice furnishings, great restaurant and friendly employees! Free shuttle shares with the other BW in town. Not too mob around it but the shuttle will take you several places.

"Night before UnCruise."
HinColo, 18 Juin 2018

Comfortable, kitchy, b&b. Great knowledgeable staff. Regular shuttle to and from downtown. Very good breakfast. You can have dinner here if you like which we were told was very good. Our room shared a wall with the kitchen and the dishwasher cycled until after 9:00 p.m. Bed was extremely comfortable.

"Juneau Gem....."
Chris S, 26 Mai 2018

First time in Juneau and meeting friends for a fishing trip..came in early and decided to stay at Grandma's based on the location and reviews... I just have to say WOW!!!! Grandma's has a great deal of character and charm..it isn't your run of the mill cookie cutter hotel.... It has character .. it has charm... buy when you throw in the staff and the restaurant.... It's like WOW... the staff all are friendly and I mean truly friendly and genuine... And the food is great..from breakfast to dinner.... I'd definitely recommend Grandma's.... It's a great place to stay for a night or just for a few days.....

"Nice getaway for a special occasion"
Bambam99801, 23 Mai 2018

Came here for a birthday getaway with my girlfriend. Had a very nice room with a comfortable feather bed and a Jacuzzi fit for 2. Ate dinner after check in and had a good meal. Staff was very helpful on check in/out and also during our meal.

"Grandma Knows What She's Doing"
samarsea, 13 Mai 2018

I had a great stay. You will too. The food was great, the staff was great, the shuttle drivers were great, and the room was great. I gather that each room is decorated differently, and are different shapes even, so multiple stays won't be repetitious.

"Grandma's"
captainmorgan907, 03 Mai 2018

The comfort at this hotel is outstanding. It truly feels like a cozy country home. Staff here made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Breakfasts are fresh and big portions. Rooms are spacious and the private Jacuzzi tubs are heaven.

"Always the best at Grandma's!"
hustonc2018, 30 Avril 2018

Very clean rooms. Truly feels like you are visiting a friend but with all of the best amenities! Food is awesome for both Breakfast and the Dinner menu! Staff is friendly and professional and VERY attentive! I would highly recommend staying at this property!

"Anniversary Trip"
Jason S, 29 Avril 2018

Excellent place to stay!! Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing, we never went anywhere else for breakfast, because the breakfast made to order was so delicious. Cozy and comfortable, we were given great recommendations for things to do within the town. We can't wait to come back!

"My first choice in The Last Frontier "
Joe S, 19 Avril 2018

This was my first time in Alaska and I was definitely impressed with this hotel. My wife and celebrated our 5th anniversary and we definitely wanted to go somewhere different. Alaska was definitely the best place we could've picked. We loved it up here. I usually pick Best Western as my go-to chain. We got a very good deal on this place and we got extra special treatment since it was our anniversary and because I'm a Diamond Select Member with Best Western. The room was quaint and romantic. The room was also super clean. The staff members could not have been nicer to us. We felt like royalty when we stayed here. I will definitely return to this location and recommend it to anyone I know who will be visiting the Juneau area.

"Business trip"
Elizabeth H, 13 Avril 2018

I highly recommend staying here. Great staff, comfortable rooms, amazing cook to order hot breakfast & great grab & go option if you have an early departure. Internet has always been fast and reliable.

"Great Hotel"
obbor, 10 Avril 2018

Large room with very comfortable bed. Foods great too, made to order breakfasts and the evening meal good value if you share and certainly the steak and chips is. Useful free shuttle bus every 2 hours downtown takes and brings back.

"Great stay in Juneau"
Ian S, 18 Février 2018

From OZ Alaska was a totally different experience for us. On arriving in Juneau we were excited and when we got to Grandmas Feather Bed (5 min from the airport) we were not disappointed with the accommodation. Great room (top level with private sitting room) we were impressed. Interesting thing about America is that beds are rather high which is not a problem just different for us. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our American experience opened our eyes to how good Mexican food can be and GFB and Juneau dining did not disappoint. The shuttle service to and from Juneau centre is excellent and for other trip the local bus services is effective. With Mendenhall Glazier near by we had a fantastic time in Juneau staying at Grandmas Feather Bed. If only they could arrange for bears to arrive on que. Recommended to anyone planning a stay in Juneau. PS We travelled in July 2016 but I am unable to select that year.

"Best hotel experience ever!"
Linda C, 02 Février 2018

I have stayed at Grandma's many times and am always delighted to return. Exceptional service, clean and beautiful rooms, outstanding complimentary breakfast, close to the airport with shuttle service all keep me returning when I visit Juneau . Staying there really does feel like a visit to grandma's house where a guest can relax and know their every need will be met, at a reasonable rate.

"Best Western is the Best Stay in Juneau"
Y23EPlukeb, 23 Octobre 2017

I stayed at the Best Western in Juneau (aka grandma's feather bed inn). It was extremely comfortable and clean. The food was top notch and the staff was friendly and warm. I'd recommend to anyone going to Juneau.

"Awesome Place To Stay"
C8001FIbrendah, 05 Octobre 2017

It's a very lovely place with great and friendly staff. The room was very nice, and the bed was very comfortable.Loved the fact that it had a big jacuzzi in the room, and free WiFi. I'll definitely be staying there again.

"LOVED Grandma's Feather Bed"
lcgovols, 30 Septembre 2017

Our experience was awesome staying here! This was the very first night of our road trip and it set very high expectations for us. We actually booked at the other Best Western but they had a large group staying there, so they upgraded us to Grandma's for free. The room we got was so big, updated, and so nice! The breakfast was so good and made to order for you. Now that I know how great it was I would definitely pay more to stay at Grandma's than the regular BW.

"Unique and unforgettable!"
blink88, 29 Septembre 2017

Grandma's Feather Bed hotel is a unique and unforgettable place to stay. Each room is different, with individual layouts and touches that are very cozy. The whirlpool tub works well and is great to enjoy after long flights and days on your feet out and about. The staff are exceptionally warm, personable and considerate. They will also help you with whatever you need. It is by the airport and not downtown, but it's not a long drive if you rent a car, and there are shuttles during the day. A. plentiful cold breakfast is included in your stay. The restaurant is very nice, especially the grilled halibut. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Juneau.

"Comfortable and cozy"
John B, 29 Septembre 2017

Love this place. Slim pickens whenever staying in Juneau but have found this gem and have stayed here 5-6 times, each time a comfortable and cozy stay. I would highly recommend taking a look at Grandmas, you wont be dissappointed

"Not what we were looking for"
Chris S, 25 Septembre 2017

We stayed here based on a family member's recommendation, I think this place would be ok for those spending a few days in Juneau who want sort of a boutique hotel but it wasn't quite what we needed. We mainly needed a place near the airport to sleep as we did not arrive until late afternoon and had a 5am flight the next morning. They are close to the airport which is good. But we found the rooms kind of odd with a huge jacuzzi tub right in the bedroom. The toilet area was super small, almost like on a commercial jet. And the beds and pillows were way too soft for our liking. They do offer free airport and ferry transfers and will put any boxes of frozen fish in the freezer, although it is next door at the more traditional Best Western. What surprised us was the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license which seems odd for a hotel in this day and age. So we opted to take a taxi to town which cost us more but was what we wanted, I don't think a glass of wine at dinner is too much to ask for. This place is more expensive than it's sister hotel next door, next time we will stay there.

"Comfortable room and good breakfast"
Kathleen S, 20 Septembre 2017

Lady (her name) at the front desk was very helpful and the room was comfortable with the added bonus of a large whirlpool bath. Great after a day of hiking and seeing the amazing sights in Juneau. Breakfast was good and they had a good selection to choose from.

"perfect friendly hotel in Juneau"
beentheretooo, 07 Septembre 2017

Beautiful cottage like hotel near airport and a bit far from central Juneau. You cannot spontaneously visit restaurants or shops in town but they provide shuttles. Bryce and Anna were delightful hosts as were all the staff plus a want to please owner. Rooms very comfortable. Breakfasts are excellent and included in room rate. Really perfect

"Amazing! No staff on site the entire stay!"
LifeIsACabernet023, 05 Septembre 2017

I always try to give fair reviews, with factual information. Here goes: 1) No staff on site - the entire stay. 2) We had to drive to another hotel to check in. Really! 3) No AC - there was a fan in the cabinet - only worked on HIGH. None of the other speeds worked. 3) No way to get the wifi password - no staff to help. 4) No place to store fish - had to go to another hotel. Then when we picked the fish up - they had us walk around to the back of the hotel and get in the freezer because it was raining... NO - I do not recommend Best Western. Horrible.

"Cute and Comfortable"
petllo, 04 Septembre 2017

Lovely small hotel with character. Comfortable bed and rooms. Good food. Unfortunately not licenced to sell alcohol. The hotel is near the airport but a fair distance from downtown. Shuttle to downtown every 2 hours. Would stay again. We stayed two nights a week apart.

"Never been at a Best Western like this!"
Phil H, 31 Août 2017

A B&B in a beautiful old house near the Juneau airport. Lovely room (had the one in the picture). Service was great. A menu with several breakfast options. Food so good we came back twice.to eat in the evening.

"Prime Juneau location with local comfort"
tingalover, 24 Août 2017

Everything about the hotel was virtually perfect for our stay: featherbed, room, hot tub, and location next to stores. Check-in was easy and breakfast was delicious. They have breakfast sitting out (i.e.: cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc.), and also made-to-order breakfast that is already included in the room cost (French toast is great). Small concern: the two young ladies (siblings?) serving breakfast for us treated us with less kindness than we are used to (not that we are ones who need a lot of TLC or anything :). The overall experience was everything we needed in Juneau and we found ourselves very happy with it all. WOULD STAY AGAIN!

"Excellent experience"
H6765YAjonb, 21 Août 2017

Wonderful hotel, great/helpful staff. Only drawback is that it is far from downtown, so either have to wait on courtesy van (only runs on odd hours between 7a to 7p) or a pricey cab ride. Having said that would still stay there again, as the overall experience was superb.

"Victorian Comfort"

Wonderfully comfortable! All kinds of extra amenities! Loved our room and huge jacuzzi tub, comfortable bed and lovely hotel restaurant. Service was top notch and will recommend this hotel to all my friends heading to Juneau, Alaska.

"Quaint, small, very nice, and convenient to the airport. Best option near the airport."
MarkUSAretired, 19 Août 2017

Grandma's is a small, Best Western hotel. It has the flavor of a B&B. There are two vans that shuttle guests to/from the airport on demand for three Best Western hotels. This is very convenient. Each room is uniquely decorated, large, and quite nice. Breakfast is included. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. It easily the best place near the airport.

"A little quaint and quirky inn. I LOVED IT!"
Kelly M, 18 Août 2017

Small little hotel with like 16 rooms. We got 2 adjoining rooms on the first floor, as there is only one bed per room, and we had our children with us. So weird to have the glass shower in the middle of the room, so I sent the family into the next room so I could have privacy while I showered. The kids had a jacuzzi tub in their room with a shower curtain for privacy to shower. This was weird but not an issue for us. The breakfast was AMAZING! It came free with the room and was cook to order. Delicious pancakes, omelettes, biscuits and gravy, french toast. All delicious! It was raining so hard the first night there that we didn't want to go downtown to eat dinner, so having the little restaurant right down the hall was great. Delicious dinner, reasonably priced. The beds were probably the most comfy hotels beds I have ever experienced, and I appreciated the better quality towels, which is hard to find in a hotel. Micaela was helpful and courteous at the front desk. And the young girl and guy aimed to please in the restaurant. I would not stay anywhere else. The best way to describe this place is its like a bed and breakfast. You hear all the sounds around you, but it is so intimate and simply precious. I LOVED IT! And the room rate was really good! Oh, and it only took us 90 seconds to drive to the airport at 4am. It is a bit of a drive downtown but so close to the airport and to Mendenhall glacier and the whale watching port at auke bay.

"Simply the Best"

Used 3 rooms headed out to the Chilkoot Trail and 3 on the way home. Every room was uniquely decorated with its own personality, amazing staff, fabulous breakfasts. Highly recommend Grandma's Feather Bed.

"The Best "Best Western" in the Chain"
Allon B, 16 Août 2017

We arrived in Juneau at 10 pm after 30 hours of travel from Australia and were warmly welcomed by Bryce the night manager who kindly offered to drive us to a nearby restaurant for food as the hotel restaurant had closed. The large room was spotless, with a brick fireplace, spa bath and great historic decor to match the hotel theme. Quiet location, very convenient to airport, with the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The restaurant had a great menu at reasonable prices - fantastic fresh sockeye salmon for dinner and sumptuous ham and eggs for breakfast. The free hotel shuttle drove us into Juneau and picked us up at a pre-arranged time, no need to rent a car. The icing on the cake was seeing a bald eagle with a salmon in its talons landing on its nest 100 yards down the road to feed 2 eagle chicks. We will definitely be staying here again when visiting Juneau.

"Grandma's Best"
Patricia L, 16 Août 2017

Terrific atmosphere, really large rooms, great staff, near the airport. Hotell was also close enough to enjoy the sights of Juneau including the fishery and Mendenhal glacier A place worth staying. Wish we were there longer to enjoy the food.

"Very cute, but get specifics on your room."
Laura B, 14 Août 2017

I was very excited to stay at Grandma's Feather Bed after reading the reviews. The staff was friendly and pleasant when we arrived. Our room (#134) was a bit of a surprise though. It was decorated in a charming romantic style, but the room was extremely small, with the shower actually in the room right next to the bed. The toilet was in a tiny closet next to the shower. We actually had trouble fitting our luggage in around the bed without blocking the door or the sink area. My husband and I were tripping over each other (not romantic). On the positive side, the continental breakfast was lovely and available by 5 a.m., and the airport shuttle was very convenient.

"BW Grandmother's Feather Bed Experience"

Excellent all around. Shuttle service was a nice feature. Reception staff was pleasant. Breakfast was included which was nice. Breakfast staff could have been more engaging and proactive in providing service.

"Surprised by Grandma"
Nancy P, 08 Août 2017

This little bandb offers very good food (Some customers arrived only for dinner; not everyone was staying at Grandma's.) We had a table at the window for both dinner and breakfast. This place is convenient to both Mendenhall Glacier and Juneau Airport. They also offer shuttle service.

"Friendly staff, excellent food!"
thomas B, 07 Août 2017

This was a wonderful place to stay! The rooms are attractive, very clean and comfortable. The staff are professional, helpful, and kind. The breakfasts were exceptional. The dinners were good too. We stayed 4 nights and would come again!

"A Hidden Gem"
E1mb, 01 Août 2017

Gosh, I really dislike reviews that are entitled A Hidden Gem. Hidden from whom? Lots of people staying there, good ratings on Trip Advisor. So it wasn't really hidden. The only person it was hidden from was me; my wife, sitting next to me on her computer while we were planning our Alaskan adventure, said, "Found the place to stay in Juneau!" "OK," I nodded while looking at something else, glad that we could move on. "I'm sure it's nice." So upon further questioning later that night, I found that after all of her due diligence, she booked Grandma's Feather Bed because of the name. "Who could resist," my wife insisted. So most of the details of Grandma's Feather Bed were hidden, hidden from me. But did she make a great choice! As happy as we could be for a two night stay before and after our UnCruise Adventure. Managed by an extremely nice young couple, also present were Lady and Aracely working at the desk and the dining room (where the food was wonderful), and everything about it was great. A little out of town was solved by their most accommodating shuttle. Couldn't ask for anything more, and if we are in Juneau again, you know where to find us.

"Stop over on the way home"
rbayston, 30 Juillet 2017

Small friendly b&b, well organized, clean and oh so comfortable. Close to the airport, about 9 miles from town, luckily a free shuttle runs to & from Juneau. The food while not gourmet is fresh, well prepared and tasty. Beats fighting fir space when the cruise lines are in town.

"quaint and cozy small hotel - not a generic best western"
elderlyones, 25 Juillet 2017

must have been upgraded since the poor reviews of 2013-14 we had the room above the dining room - large jacuzzi bathroom, spacious room very pretty and not overdone not really a business-oriented place (no desk/chair etc) more like a 2 story house turned into a guest house dinner was very good (bring your own wine) and only 6-8:30 this keeps hotel quiet also, no pets - getting harder to find really pet-free rooms great small staff of young people

"Fantastic service and food!"
nkstall, 19 Juillet 2017

Wonderful place! Highly recommend a visit. Stayed seven days and loved it! Service was excellent and everyone SO kind and helpful! Food was delicious and the servers very accommodating! Beds comfortable and they gave super advice.

"Wonderful place to stay in Juneau"
Kapro, 18 Juillet 2017

We really appreciated our stay at Grandma's Feather Bed. I didn't rent a car for our stay in Juneau, which I regretted. However, this hotel does have a shuttle available and we were able to use it on several occasions. On our arrival at the airport I called the hotel and they sent a shuttle right over to pick us up. We also used the shuttle to return to the airport and to get back to the hotel after exploring the downtown area. For us, this was an extremely helpful service. The hotel itself is very cute, and the room was very nice. The only thing that is a little different is the shower. The extremely nice, large, multi head shower is in the room itself, with no chance of any privacy, as it has a clear glass door. So, if you have any sort of modesty issue, and aren't traveling alone, you might want to request a room with a more private set up. The hotel was also kind enough to store our luggage for the day, as we arrived well before check in time. We, very unfortunately, missed the hot breakfast offered by the hotel, as we had to leave early the two mornings we stayed. However, thankfully for us, they offer a very nice continental breakfast starting at 5 am, which we happily enjoyed. The staff was helpful, the room was comfortable and nicely decorated, the shuttle was great and they had breakfast set out very early. I would definitely stay at this hotel again anytime I find myself in Juneau and highly recommend it to others.

"Grandma's is the best"
mgmaple, 18 Juillet 2017

The food is outstanding. The service is perfect. This hotel is small, quiet, and cozy. We stayed here for 7 nights and , it served as a perfect home base for our Juneau trip. The shuttle was helpful to get to our activities. Delicious, made to order breakfast is included. The beds are super comfortable. You can't go wrong staying here!

"Quaint Bed & Breakfast"
Happy97, 11 Juillet 2017

This is a small quaint hotel with approximately 13 rooms. It can book up fast in the popular summer months. After reading all the reviews I booked several months ahead to be assured of availability. The featherbeds are vey comfortable. Our room had a very large shower, refrigerator and coffee maker. Every room is set up differently so when booking ask which amenities are available. There is no elevator so if stairs are a issue you may want to book on the first floor. Breakfast is included with your room rate; there is a continental breakfast at 5 a.m. and at 6 a.m. a hot breakfast made to order with a choice of 3 items from their menu. The restaurant is also open to the public for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. There is a shuttle service to some of the local area attractions, airport etc. if needed. A very nice place to stay in the Juneau area, away from the busy downtown area.

"Great Hotel Chain"
Marilyn K, 11 Juillet 2017

Staff was very accommodating. Room was very clean. In fact, the service cleaned up our room almost every day. Fresh towels, etc. Would highly recommend this place. Staff was very knowledgable of local attractions.

"Charming spot in Juneau"
Mary C, 09 Juillet 2017

Booked this Best Western for the start of a family trip to Alaska. The service and people at there are really special. Michela, a young lady from Idaho, was kind and thoughtful and made sure my parents were well taken care of. She answers all their questions and offered a nice perspective on her time in Alaska. The guest rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. Rooms have refrigerators and a small table and chairs that can function as a breakfast nook. Breakfast was included in our rate which made the morning seamless before we went out to explore Juneau. Loved the shuttle service they offered. We used it everyday and didn't have the need for a car. I'll admit it's not my normal luxury hotel experience but it definitely was charming.

"Nice room"
Dale G, 09 Juillet 2017

Very nice room with soft bed. Clean and well maintained with comfortable accessories. Breakfast included in room rate; best place to stay for airport. We would highly recommend this hotel for good value and very convenient to the airport.

"Excellent hotel, though a little ways out of town"
Andrew C, 08 Juillet 2017

We stayed here one night before joining a cruise departing Juneau the next day. It is quite close to the airport but 12 or so miles from downtown Juneau - this was never a problem as there is a regular shuttle bus and taxis as well if you don't want to use that. This is not your typical Best Western and instead looks like an old inn or B&B, though its difficult to tell old it actually is. I think all of the rooms are quite individual and ours was delightful, decorated in a very cottagey style, with the expected large high bed and an "in room" tub/shower (though better executed than most. In other words, more of a B&B than a hotel room. It was quiet (apart from the guy who returned to his room around 10:30 and started practising his banjo!), clean and comfortable. While they do serve dinner, they're not licensed so we headed in to town. Breakfast was served and was fine - clearly popular as locals were turning up. Staff were all friendly and helpful. From what we saw of other hotels in downtown Juneau, this was certainly a step above anything else on offer.

"Wonderful hospitality"
Lynn B, 02 Juillet 2017

We were very impressed by the comfort of the room, the quality of the breakfasts and the helpfulness of the staff at the hotel. We used the shuttle service for trips downtown several times and found it convenient. There are grocery stores within walking distance of the hotel. Overall a quality experience!

"Head and shoulders above the rest in Juneau"
photomomHouston, 26 Juin 2017

Charming, comfy - it's a B&B disguised (online) as a Best Western - when you arrive you see it is a legit inn - charming Victorian replica home. Outstanding on-site restaurant Shuttle service will take you downtown, airport, local businesses for free Head and shoulders above other Juneau properties

"Grandmas Best Western"
alicedD4239RC, 26 Juin 2017

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Grandma's Best Western. Loved the room. Cozy, comfortable and quiet. Nice that they provided breakfast starting at 5am. It was like staying at a B&B without a feeling you were invading someone's home.

"Great hotel!"
Xiaowei Z, 23 Juin 2017

Wonderful hotel, very clean and sweet room. Definitely one of the cutest hotel I've ever been. And people here is super nice and helpful. Our room came with free breakfast, it's order to make, very fresh and tasty. Recommend!

"Nice hotel but very noisy !"
User, 21 Juin 2017

Grandmas is an attractive nicely set up B&B close to the airport with large, clean, well fitted rooms (eg. microwave and coffee machine) with good breakfasts and shuttle buses included. Staff are very helpful and upbeat. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Sadly, these positives are all over-shadowed by the noise ...... you can hear every footstep of upstairs guests as well as when anyone runs a tap or flushes their toilet. Guests come and go at strange times to meet boats and planes so there's no chance of a good night sleep as their noise (and loud reception staff interaction) travels throughout this timber building. If you stay, make sure you get a room upstairs at the back away from the guest noise as well as traffic on this busy road.

"Comfy bed"
travelerNevada, 21 Juin 2017

The beds at this Best Western really do have feather beds! I was surprised and delighted at how comfortable the bedding was! The staff tried to accommodate our requests and were happy to give us lifts to shopping and downtown Juneau.

"Excellent Best Western in Juneau"
Matt K, 21 Juin 2017

Grandma's Feather Bed & Breakfast in Juneau was an excellent vacation experience. From the moment you enter this quaint getaway you feel part of the family. Great staff, very nice accommodations I would highly recommend.

"Quaint"
LouieMcGoo, 20 Juin 2017

This is a very interesting building with huge lush rooms in a colonial style. It is outside town, situated in The Valley, halfway to Mendenhall Glacier. They have a shuttle that goes to town or the airport at booked times. Taxi was $10 from airport and $25 from town. The room is classic creams and quality fittings. Ours had a spa bath. While the room is lovely, our four poster bed had steps to climb into it. Yes, it was a huge step up for the person getting in on the other side. Sadly the mattress sagged in the middle making our sleep uneasy. Breakfast was included and was varied and delicious. Staff were very accomodating. Close by we're a number of food options and a river walk close by.

"Comfortable and Charming"
DenverJack2, 19 Juin 2017

What a find. A bit off the beaten path, but a wonderful, relaxing stay. A great accessible Jacuzzi in the corner of the spacious room. After a long day so nice to have an on-site restaurant for dinner. Just a walk down the hall. Great breakfast in the AM Close to Mendenhall Glacier and the airport.

"Yearly honeymoon"
Lalaska, 12 Juin 2017

Living in Juneau, we use Grandma's Feather Bed for our get away from routine life stay. We stayed in many of the rooms and enjoy a room with the hot tub that can be enclosed in its own room, keeping the bedroom free of humidity. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. We often get room service and have been very happy with the meals. The breakfast is the best deal in town.

"Charming place to stsy"
ckg1221, 11 Juin 2017

The staff, in particular Laydee and Aracely, went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was great and very good selection. The rooms were large and we had a spa tub, which was wonderful after hiking. And very clean. Highly recommend this property. Also has a shuttle to take you to town or the airport. Thank you Laydee and Aracely for your outstanding customer service.

"Near airport"
DeneMiles, 06 Juin 2017

This property does have a convenient location. It's very close to airport and is walking distance to a grocery store. I wouldn't say anything stood out about this location good or bad. However I decided on my next visit to use Airbnb for more of a true Alaska experience. However if you're looking for the standard close to airport hotel you shouldn't be disappointed

"Cosy, shuttle bus and airport pickup"
GreyNomads888, 27 Mai 2017

When you arrive at the airport their is a courtesy phone to use and arrange the shuttle pick up. The Hotel is only a 5 min drive away. The place is quaint. Room was comfortable. The Spa bath does take up a lot of room, but I am sure it is appreciated in the winter. Their is a local bus stop just out front. The shuttle service will take you to / from downtown at specified. Like everyone else has said .."the breakfast was great " . We had a most enjoyable and pleasant stay.

"Exudes charm!"
LoisNCNY, 20 Mai 2017

I requested a room on ground floor, due to mobility issues. There are several. Our room was quite large, with a fireplace, large jetted tub, rainfall shower head, and comfy four poster queen bed. The rooms vary significantly from room to room, just based on the few I saw. This is worthy of a special, romantic get away. Staff s friendly and helpful. The only thing I'd love me to point out is, there is no washer and dryer at this location. They will drop you off at their other location, just 2 minutes down the road, if you wish to do a wash.

"Comfy accommodations and friendly service"
Frick, 17 Mai 2017

This was our first visit to Juneau and the young couple who greeted us at the front desk upon our late arrival was great. The bed was super comfy and the room was roomy and clean. The highlight was the free breakfast which was set up nicely in the quaint dining room. Delicious fruit, pastries, juices, yogurt and coffee were displayed beautifully, but you can order off a hot menu which offers many free options. We only stayed one night as we went on to a vacation rental, but would recommend this hotel to travelers.

"Perfect place to rest and recoup for either business travel or adventures!"
kellekl, 16 Mai 2017

This is hands down my favorite hotel. The feather beds in every single room, the in-room jacuzzi tubs, the friendly staff, and the amazing cooked-to-order breakfast included in the price explain why . . . Tis minutes from the glacier and quite close to the airport.

"Grandma's Feather Bed is amazing!"
richardvB1453HY, 15 Mai 2017

Absolutely loved this charming place. Staff were friendly and breakfast was amazing. A true gem! I will definitely come back again. Rooms were quaint and comfortable, and the facility was quiet. Excellent quality.

"quaint boutique"
Paul R, 01 Mai 2017

in a town with suboptimal lodging, this place stands out. although the rooms are small they are clean and decorated tastefully. The staff was great and the breakfast cooked off the menu and included was superb. It will be the only place I will stay in Juneau in the future

"Best Western Grandma's feather bed is Best in Juneau"
Titleman86, 25 Avril 2017

Quick trip to take helicopter tour of glaciers. Selected Grandma's feather bed based on Tripadvisor reviews. Definitely best place to stay while in Juneau. Attentive staff, shuttle service, whirlpool tub in bath, and the bed is fantastic.. Restaurant serves great food, and service is very good. Had a great trip.

"Grandmas feather bed heaven"
tannisk2017, 09 Avril 2017

We stay here often for our anniversary. Love it! Heat value, excellent service, and I love the unique and beautiful rooms, and large tubs! Having the restaurant right there makes cocooning inside with your sweetheart and easy option, and thefree hot breakfast is awesome.

"Granny's is the Best Hotel in Juneau"
christopherj164, 07 Mars 2017

Friendly staff, beautiful interior with a nice tree lined view outside. I don't usually do reviews, but this place is worth it. Don't stay here because I often fly to Juneau on business and I want to always be able to have a room there.

"Best hotel in Juneau"
kpand, 06 Mars 2017

I have stayed in most of the hotels in Juneau over the years and this is definitely the best one. Nice big individually decorated rooms, huge tub, bright and airy. Super clean. The staff was friendly and they have a full made to order breakfast in the morning. If I am back in Juneau I will definitely stay here again.

"Beautiful!"
mbV5584AH, 26 Février 2017

I enjoyed that even though the hotel has "feather bed" in the title, the staff was able to make my room feather free due to allergies. The room was beautifully decorated! Staff amazing! A must stay if you are visiting Juneau. Big hotel service, but personal and cozy atmosphere.

"Very pleased with Grandma's Featherbed"
douglassc679, 25 Février 2017

This place feels more like a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. Very homey and quaint. Comfortable, large rooms. The decor is more like an older well-loved house, but everything was clean and worked well. The bed is modern and comfortable. I believe all rooms have modern jacuzzi tubs. Staff were very friendly and prompt. Large continental breakfast and/or full hot made to order breakfast. In-room Keurig coffee. Very nice place.

"Best hotel in Alaska"
Magen J, 25 Novembre 2016

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel!! It takes all the best aspects of a B&B and a hotel and put them into one. The rooms are large but very cozy. There aren't many rooms in the place, so the staff to guest ratio is super low. Awesome soaking tub in my room, comfy bed and just plain awesome. I wish I had to go to Juneau more often for work.

"3 night stay"
kittycat250, 01 Novembre 2016

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is charming and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious and the staff goes out of their way to please. it offers ick up and delivery to the airport.

"Consistently comfortable, quaint and quiet"
Tim S, 06 Octobre 2016

Always a very nice and quiet stay. Great food and no problems with the internet speed. Really enjoy the jacuzzi tub and the wait staff are always pleasant and helpful. Great value for the quality of sleep experience and the better than normal hotel breakfast included.

"Perfect little hotel / bed and breakfast"
FrankTibackx, 27 Septembre 2016

We loved the room, the service, the breakfast. Everything was perfect. We hope to be back some day. The location is outside of the downtown (close to airport and glacier) which for us was ideal. It only takes 10 minutes by car to get to the downtown with the 100s of cruise ship people drumming around looking for a cheap souvenir.

"Beautiful room...201... great staff. very accommodating!"
packmybagsreadytogo, 25 Septembre 2016

Stayed here just one night before we embarked on a cruise. The room was just lovely... felt more like a quaint B&B rather then a Best Western. We also had dinner here which was lovely and considering there were ten of us they did a great job. Though not in town, they had a shuttle service that was great! Took you not only to the downtown area but also some of the local sites. Staff was great.. loved it..

"Huge room! Charming and quaint."
kellykate67, 18 Septembre 2016

I only stayed here one night, before catching a 5 a.m. flight out of Juneau, but this is a great location - two minutes to the airport with free shuttle service even at 3 o'clock in the morning! The girl at the front desk could not have been nicer, she was friendly and very attentive. They provide shuttle service into downtown Juneau, so we checked in and then got the shuttle back to downtown for dinner. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was amazingly quiet. We met the builder and he seemed very proud of his hotel. Cute place, definitely a good spot outside of the busy downtown area. I would stay here again.

"excellent"
popsaide, 18 Septembre 2016

charming decor. france country feel , funky furniture and very clean. meals very good. breakfast excellent, we had dinner also which was very good. car service to pick you up and the airport and drop you of again when you leave. great priced hotel

"Cute!"
Rebecca D, 17 Septembre 2016

We stayed here for five nights while in Juneau. This hotel feels more like a cute B&B than a hotel. The room was comfortable with lots of character. As a hotel guest you could chose up to three items off the breakfast menu in addition to muffins, yogurt, and fruit juice. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel!

"Adorable B&B, fantastic staff!"
WisconsinTravelGirl, 13 Septembre 2016

My husband and I stayed at this property for four nights on vacation. I booked this location for the charm of a B&B, but the consistency in expectations for a chain hotel (Best Western). We had an excellent stay at Grandma's Feather Bed. A few of the highlights included the unique architecture of the building, the variety of cook-to-order breakfast items every morning, the convenient complimentary shuttle and the friendly staff. For such a small hotel, it was great having a full service restaurant on-site, as we indulged in room service one evening. If you are looking for a modern hotel look, you will be disappointed. I enjoyed the nostalgic feel. The only dislike I had was the whirlpool tub in our room. Though it was large, it was incredibly high off of the ground. A footstool was provided to enter/exit the tub - but I felt like I was going to break my leg and fall every time. Additionally, the shower unit in that tub was situated in a way that we created a flood onto the floor the first day or so, until we figured out a better system. The good news is that I don't believe all of the tubs in the hotel are this way - just the one in Room 207. That being said - we were told by multiple Juneau residents that Grandma's Feather Bed is highly regarded as the best hotel in the area and I know understand why. We couldn't have been happier!

"Best stay in Juneau"
Matthew K, 06 Septembre 2016

Grandma's is the place to stay when in Alaska. The staff is wonderful and the breakfast is excellent. The location to downtown is a bit far but, they have a shuttle service. The upside is that it is really close to Mendehall Glaciier as well as the airport.

"Best mini vacation "
LosAngelesCutiepie, 05 Septembre 2016

This is such a wonderful hotel. It felt more like a bed and breakfast. The breakfast was homecooked and yummy. Everyone who works in this hotel are extremely helpful. They really go out if there way to accommodate all your requests. If I could I would give this hotel 10 stars.

"Great Place to Stay!"

Love the hotel, that doesn't really look like a hotel! Very clean, comfortable, staff was very friendly and breakfast was awesome!! We would definitely stay here again if we ever travel to Juneau again.

"Loved our Stay here, Home Away from Home"
momitchell50, 24 Août 2016

This little BW is part Bed and Breakfast with the most comfortable beds and jacuzzi baths in every room! Full hot breakfast included and transportation to town, airport, and ferry was the best! The staff was friendly and efficient to get us moving. They even stored some bags for us!

"Beautiful, quaint, not private"
ZombieMommers, 22 Août 2016

I know it's just me: but hot tub in the middle of the room with no walls, and hard to get in and out. I could barely crawl in the posterbed because it was so tall. No lobby to hang out and no couch in room so sat on front porch in the damp rain while Hubby took nap. Not my cup of tea I guess. Breakfast was included and good so that was nice.

"Friendly Cozy B&B"
Jimmie4370, 20 Août 2016

This place really surprised me. Very friendly, Great cook to order breakfast. Free transportation to airport and downtown Juneau. Located just a mile from the airport. Grocery store near by. Cozy front porch.

"4-day stay"

A great property for any visit. My wife, daughter and 17 year old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Rooms and bathrooms were excellent, a quiet property, yet near the airport and a great base camp for venturing out to the various activities Juneau has to offer, plus their breakfasts were perfect everyday, along with two great servers.

"Excellent!!"
AKskyhook, 09 Août 2016

I stayed here overnight on a business trip. Fantastic small hotel! The room was large and the "feather bed" was huge and comfortable. Monster jet bathtub that my wife would never get out of. Breakfast was very good with a choice of cold fruit, yogurt and cereal. Or hot breakfast menu. I had the hot breakfast and it was very adequate and good. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay overnight in Juneau.

"Grandma's Featherbed"
Carol C, 08 Août 2016

It is a quaint, small hotel - similar to a B & B. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful and the food at the restuarant (very small dining room) was varied and really good. It is located about 5 minutes from the Juneau airport with shuttle service to the airport and downtown.

"Is this really a Best Western????"
alan h, 04 Août 2016

Absolutely a fantastic place to stay. The best BW property I have ever stayed in. It closely resembles an old style country inn, but with all the modern conveniences. Our room (203) was spacious and very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. A continental breakfast was provided beginning at 5AM, convenient for those with an early flight. Would definitely recommend this place.

"Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!"
paloshillstraveler, 02 Août 2016

We read the reviews in Tripadvisor for Juneau hotels and found Grandma's Feather Bed to be the #1. Due to last minute ferry complications, we had to arrive in Juneau one day earlier than our planned date/reservations. Hotel was able to add a third night to our stay at the last minute. At check-in, the woman at the reservation desk was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was outstanding, spacious, even had an extension with table and chairs off to the side overlooking woods across the street. The meals in the morning (complimentary breakfast) were delicious - with continental selections and hot food selections made to order. The restaurant served dinner in the evening - we had a salmon "feast" one night, halibut full dinner the next. The van shuttle service was a great bonus, providing transportation downtown, or to most any destination desired; the vans were new and clean, and the drivers were most personable and entertaining. The sister of the helpful reservation lady also works at the hotel and served as waitress at the restaurant in the evenings; she was also so friendly and helpful, offering many timely tips for our travels. In summary, this hotel lived up to every high expectation that we had after reading the Tripadvisor reports before our travels! It's no wonder we heard other fellow ferry travelers lamenting that they could not get a room at Grandma's! Great job done by all at this hotel! We are so happy that we stayed here!!

"Far from Downtown, But Otherwise Perfect"
Mr_Weston, 02 Août 2016

I'll start with the downside because we had one, and only one, issue with Grandma's; the hotel is a considerable distance from the downtown. We had the very bad luck to be heading downtown for dinner when a salmon truck overturned and jammed the two lane highway for hours; but even without such an accident the downtown is a ten to fifteen minute drive. No restaurants or stores are within easy walking distance either, meaning that somebody always has to be the designated driver. (We did inquire about the shuttle to downtown but it did not meet our needs.) Having said that, everything else was amazing. All the staff whom we encountered were helpful, polite and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and well-appointed and the bathroom featured a spa-soaker tub which was lovely given that the weather during our stay was about 13 degrees Celsius and rainy. The bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast, included, was more than generous and the food was delicious. You can always count on Grandma!

"Staff is friendly, knowlegeable and on top of game"
DPOmaha, 01 Août 2016

Hotel caters to guests. Shuttle services to/from airport, to/from downtown. Drivers offered suggestions for touring, food and even offered to let us run an errand that was on the way back and close to hotel. We were fishing so we were allowed to store fish in a freezer at one hotel even though we stayed at the other location close by. Early morning of flight home, the driver picks up the fish before picking up us to go to airport which saved us time. We didn't even ask, they thought of it on their own. Gals at front desk were friendly, professional and on top of their game. Impressed by all staff.

"An absolute gem"
Aussietraveller1952, 01 Août 2016

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during our Alaskan travels. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by a very nice young man and shown to our room. Magnificent. It was the very first room on the ground floor. The first thing that hit you was the four poster bed. The room was enormous with traditional furnishings, a beautiful bathroom area and a separate wash basin area. The central heating was perfect and yes, it was a feather bed and extremely comfortable. We slept very soundly on both nights. Breakfast was included in the tariff with the usual juices, cereal, breads and hot offerings like bacon and eggs were cooked to order. Sumptuous. The dining room is also open for dinner and we had a beautiful meal served by a lovely young lady. Plenty of free parking out the front, no road noise and good WiFi reception. The hotel is located only a fifteen minute walk from the airport but it's about a twenty minute drive into Juneau township. The hotel also offers complimentary shuttle services to/from the airport and the ferry terminal and I believe there are local bus services into Juneau proper. We have stayed in many Best Western properties over the years - this was by far the very best. Sadly, we did not get to meet Grandma. If in Juneau you must stay here.

"More like a B&B"
LovesAnimals55, 31 Juillet 2016

This was a nice hotel with all of the rooms being unique. The bath/shower combo was included in the bedroom. At least the toilet was in a separate room. If you do not like soft beds, this place is not for you. Laundry room was a half a block away at another Best Western.

"Exceptional service and good value"
stevensU4543LN, 31 Juillet 2016

We stayed three nights at this hotel and still talk about the friendly staff encountered. Each person went out of their way to be welcoming, courteous and attentive to our needs. A definite 'A' grade from us.

"Great stay"
IIP2, 29 Juillet 2016

Stayed in the honeymoon suite for two nights. Very nice room with a jacuzzi tub. Large king size bed was very comfortable. The facility is clean and everything works. Breakfast is made to order and well done. Convenient location near airport. Plenty of nearby restaurants and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will stay here again.

"Nice quiet traditional style hotel"
Erylis, 28 Juillet 2016

We had a 3 night stay here while travelling in Alaska. Nice enough hotel although I think the play on traditional style is no excuse for shabbiness. Some updating is required! That said it was a lovely change from chain hotels and being so close to the airport was a real bonus. The area is very quiet and peaceful. Our room was quite large with a queen bed and large spa tub in the room. Certainly the room was ok to relax in when the weather was bad and we didn't want to go out. Decent TV and good internet access. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and there was certainly more than enough to eat with hot items freshly cooked to order. Bear in mind this hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Juneau. The hotel runs a free shuttle downtown which is great if you're planning any tours or just want to explore. The last shuttle back is 7.15pm. Perfect timing for returning to the hotel if you're on a boat trip. I would advise pre booking this shuttle as on our return from the boat trip the shuttle bus was full. We had an unplanned extra day in Juneau and I'm so glad we hired a car for that day to explore the area on our own and see some places we would never have got to otherwise. Eagle Bay and a walk in the rainforest at the end of Montana Creek Road were real highlights for us. If you get the chance to explore on your own, go for it. It rained that whole day but was dry while we visited both of these places and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to see these amazing areas

"Great little hotel with fantastic staff"
hamilton5551, 24 Juillet 2016

Located about 5 miles from city centre this gem of a hotel is a very comfortable base from which to explore Juneau. Rooms are large and comfortable with free wi Fi. Staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to ensure you have a great stay. Good breakfast and excellent evening meals available if you want to eat at the hotel. A home from home where good old fashioned service is still valued.

"Grandma's Feather Bed in Juneau"
Jeff D, 24 Juillet 2016

Quaint hotel and individualized room decorations. Great staff and very friendly and helpful. Offer shuttle serviced into town and have great food. Full breakfast is included in your room rate. Would recommend to anyone. No elevator since it is a old building.

"Great overnight before our cruise"
DBinVA, 21 Juillet 2016

If you are in town for a night prior to your cruise this is a pretty good choice as the location is close to the airport and to the glacier. It is a bit of a distance from downtown so we rented a car for the day which gave us a lot of flexibility. Clean and comfortable although the price was a bit shocking for a Best Western. Free full breakfast with the stay was more than adequate.

"There is so much to like at this B & B"
Patricia B, 21 Juillet 2016

We stayed here for two nights before beginning a boat trip around Admiralty Island. First of all the the service was outstanding. We were picked up by their shuttle from the airport and then shuttled several other places when we needed transportation. The staff was very quick to provide suggestions and to answer our questions about the area around Juneau. The building is very unique in its design, and it was that unusual design that I really liked. We stayed on the first floor which was a better fit for us than climbing the stairs to the second floor. The dining area offers a free breakfast to those staying the night, but others may order breakfast for the price shown on the menu. The menu offers a nice variety and there is also a table with cereals, yogurt, a fruit plate, sweet rolls, juice, and other drinks. Dinner is served in the evening (Tues. through Sat.) for those who want to dine there, but it is not included in your amenities. We often saw people from the area go there for dinner or to get a meal to take out. Delicious meals. Cozy room with everything we needed. We would definitely stay at Grandma's Feather Bed again.

"GRANDMA'S FEATHER BED"
Eve R, 21 Juillet 2016

Grandma's Feather Bed is the absolute best hotel I have ever stayed at - I have up'd my traveling and staying in hotels - I usually dread it! but since I've been going to Juneau, AK for business and my corporate travel made the reservations at Grandma's - I stay there every time now! AMAZING!

"Very sweet hotel"
Doloresfisherman, 20 Juillet 2016

The only reason I didn't give a fifth star for the Featherbed is that the decor was a bit overly sweet. The staff are really good: friendly, helpful and try to accommodate most traveler requests. The room comfortable and very clean. If you don't have a car the shuttle will take you everywhere at convenient times. It is more like a small inn than motel. The dining room was pricey but had a very nice menu. Breakfast is good with continental style or full menu. It is a good choice for staying one or more nights in Juneau.

"Quaint"
Heidi T, 13 Juillet 2016

A few points from our one night stay before going on a small-boat cruise: We rented a car so didn't utilize the shuttle service. Juneau was having unusually warm weather and Grandma's Feather Bed doesn't have A/C but the table top fan in the room and it kept it comfortable. Close to Mendenhall Glacier and the airport but about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown. Breakfast was Yummy!

"5 STAR"
billmeise61, 09 Juillet 2016

Always love staying at Grandma's when going to AK, Juneau is an excellent stopping point and Grandma's is a perfect place to stay Breakfast is included and great! and he dinner specials are exceptional We'll be back again and again and again

"Juneau Bed and Breakfast"
Heather N, 06 Juillet 2016

The support staff were perfect, the room was lovely. The food disappointing. It is walking distance from the airport, so well situated. Usually I stay elsewhere, so will return to my elsewhere next time.

"The best place to stay in Juneau"
Jennie S, 05 Juillet 2016

Incredibly cute - staff is so friendly - service is great - breakfast is top notch - rooms are adorable and comfy, Only downside is that they only have a few rooms and they always seem to be booked! If you can get in though - it is hands down the best place to stay.

"Fabulous small inn "
Kate L, 04 Juillet 2016

I can't imagine staying in Juneau and not staying at Grandma's Feather Bed. Each room is different with a queen bed and jetted tub. Each room is so tastefully decorated and very clean. And they all have feather beds. The staff couldn't haven't taken better care of us. The breakfast comes with the room and they have a full menu for lunch and dinner. They shuttle between the air port and ferry terminal and downtown and are always right on time. This was a wonderful place for us. When we come back to Juneau we'll come back to Grandmas

"Whirltub is the unique feature"
DT25, 03 Juillet 2016

Cozy décor. We enjoyed relaxing in the jetted bathtub- could have been enhanced with softer lighting, bubble bath (bring your own). Not much room for suitcases, but drawers available if you want to unpack. Staff were charming but seemed a bit inexperienced (they have to handle both the registration desk and the restaurant). Dinner and breakfast were good, not outstanding (like Grandma's cooking?). Very convenient to airport- 5 minutes by shuttle. Can walk to other restaurants. Luggage storage at nearby other Best Western Country Inn (shuttle serves both). If you don't care about the whirltub, save some money and stay at the Country Inn.

"Nice Place"
Ronald S, 03 Juillet 2016

It is more difficult than we imagined to find a nice place to stay in Juneau. I suppose most folks stay on their cruise ships. We were relieved to arrive at this place after a week in a less than stellar property.

"Very nice B&B"
Ann G, 26 Juin 2016

Very near the airport, but we did not hear planes. We had front facing room 202 with lovely dining nook. Staff very nice, food was very good. Some may prefer staying downtown - for us this was perfect. It is very close to glacier. Shuttle was provided every two hours to downtown / ferry area.

"B&B Plus"
Teresa L, 25 Juin 2016

We stayed 5 nights and had a very nice time. The employees were all friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, though walls were a bit thin. It is about 15 minutes drive from downtown and 3 minutes from the airport. If you don't need to be downtown, we would recommend it as the shuttle service still made coming and going easy -- always on time and convenient. The daily breakfast was very generous, and the dinners we had were very good.

"BEST HOTEL IN JUNEAU"
LuvToTravel0899, 22 Juin 2016

We have stayed at Grandma's Feather Bed in the past and it is the only place, outside of the other Best Western (same owner), we would consider staying at in Juneau. Rooms are neat and clean, breakfast is top shelf, and the owner takes a personal interest in his properties. On this trip we stayed 3 separate times of one night each. We request room 202 with a breakfast nook, or room 201 which is larger and overlooks the woods and street. If you go to Juneau check out the Best Westerns and you will not be disappointed.

"Comfortable and quiet"
Pennymohr, 19 Juin 2016

This was a restful place to stay before we took off on our cruise. Minutes from the airport and they provide a free shuttle there and back. They are a long ways from downtown Juneau, but provide a free shuttle every two hours that can take you where you want to go. The rooms are spacious, bed comfortable and the jacuzzi is a great bonus. The breakfast is standard fare, but generous. Although far from Juneau, you can walk to the next light and there is a fantastic pub, McKinley's, with Alaskan specials. They do need more staff. One woman was cleaning rooms, checking people in, taking breakfast orders, serving food and answering phones. She pulled it off, though.

"Comfortable"
MacDuff47, 09 Juin 2016

Stayed two nights at the end of a two week SE Alaska trip. Friendly, attentive service; breakfast and dinner were very good; downtown shuttle worked perfectly as a rental car alternative. Our room had a very large, two person jacuzzi that doubles as a shower. A plastic collapsible stool has to be used to get into the shower--we managed okay, but somewhat awkward, and could be down right dangerous for those folks who may have any physical challenges. No vent, fan, or light for the shower, so the humidity jumps after the shower is used. When we return to Juneau--we'll stay at Grandma's!

"Comfortable, Convenient, and Congenial"
AugustBDayTripster, 08 Juin 2016

We stayed here two nights, a week apart, going to and from a cruise. The friendly staff made the stay memorable. The rooms are unique: the circa 1980's wallpapers and furnishings, and the large rooms' odd shapes with bathtubs IN suite, are not going to win chic design awards, but everything was very clean and comfortable. Like Grandma's house. On our second arrival, there was a mix-up and the desk staff had left a sign on the desk to call the neighbor-property down the street. The gentleman from that location was very apologetic and came over right away to get us checked in; the owner called shortly after and offered us a complimentary dinner for our wait. It had been a long day so the offer was appreciated. The food was really good -- someone in the kitchen cares how the homey fare turns out. Good internet service, if that's important to you. If you are looking for cookie-cutter perfection, like one very grumpy couple who were there at the same time, this is not the place for you. If you can ride with the tide a bit, the hospitality is a winner.

"wonderful stay before and after cruise"
crisis_10, 04 Juin 2016

The hotel is very comfortable with spacious, well appointed rooms. After a long travel day, the whirlpool bath was much appreciated. The shuttle service to and from the airport and downtown was efficient and time and cost saving. The complimentary breakfast was quite good. Perhaps the finest part of our stay was the excellent hospitality from the weekend staff Lady and Clarise. They were so helpful in planning our time in Juneau and when we arrived early in the day after our cruise and one of us was unwell, they found a room that was ready, apologizing that it was the smallest one in the hotel. We felt very well cared for and it is not often in traveling to have such personal caring attention from hotel staff.

"Alaska vacation"
tablesalt2, 01 Juin 2016

We couldn't ask for more; great breakfast- blueberry pancakes, sausage, made to order omelets perfect every time! Our room had a big jetted tub, soft bed, small fridge and Keurig. The staff was great too, they helped us plan our activities so we made the best use of our time while in Alaska; whale watching, St Therese Shrine, a hike around Auke Lake, shopping downtown and Mendenhall Glacier. Our first time in Alaska and it won't be our last! Thank you!

"Large funky rooms, lovely large bath tubs, pretty place"
SunshineV88, 26 Mai 2016

Check in was a bit of an issue, but the manager quickly organized the confused woman at the front desk. Had to wait for rooms, but in fairness, we were 1 1/2 hours early for check in. Like the rest of Alaska, no air conditioning, so had to open the window since it was in the 80s during the day. All queen bedded rooms, the two we had were quite large both with large tubs/showers. Odd configuration for the rooms, would love to know how the designers arrived at the remodel, but that's just me! Nice property

"Very nice!"
Kelly O, 22 Mai 2016

Small little hotel close to airport with free shuttle. Small, older hotel, that is well maintained and clean. Overall, very charming! Room was interesting with a step-in jacuzzi tub in the room. Staff was very nice and breakfast was amazing! Very nice would stay again. Good value for the area.

"Charming Victorian Hotel"
Jan743, 17 Mai 2016

We found out that this hotel was built around 1985, but feels like it was built much earlier with charming decor - flowered wallpaper, wainscoting, and a furniture style that fit right in with the decor. Not your typical modern furnishings. We stayed in two different rooms, a week apart and both were charming, although one was quite small, and the other was quite large - almost the same price. I'd opt for the larger room. The breakfast was excellent, included in price. We also ate dinner there one night and it was also very good, with a large menu to choose from. I'd recommend renting a car if you're planning on staying more than a day as it's about a $25 taxi ride, each way, and the hotel shuttle, which is free, only runs every two hours. The airport shuttle, also free, runs on demand.

"A wonderful place to stay."
kittycat250, 17 Mai 2016

Grandma's has very nice clean rooms, very helpful staff, excellent breakfasts included and shuttle service. It is close to the airport and about a 10 minute ride to downtown. They offer 3 meals a day. The rooms are very lovely, I would definitely stay there again.

"Clean, interesting and quiet property"
Randall W, 27 Avril 2016

Very nice stay, room was up to date, clean, well painted, etc; good wi fi. Excellent cooked to order breakfast included in room price. Staff was friendly, good at making local recommendations. Located near airport so convenient to / from airport; has shuttle. Nearby Mendenhall glacier, visitor center. Easy drive to Juneau.

"Absolutely Charming "
Julie-Linville, 27 Avril 2016

This place was so cute! I loved our room, it was just adorable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Made to order breakfast was amazing and more than we could eat. Great location nearby the airport and the glacier. We will definitely stay again when in town.

"wonderful stay"
Kelly G, 27 Avril 2016

I always try to stay at Grandmas feather bed. It is my favorite hotel of all of the hotels that I stay in. I travel for work. I spend over 200 nights a year in a hotel. this is the best hotel I have stayed in. I have stayed in hotels in most major cities in the country.

"Good things come in small packages"
happygyrl, 15 Avril 2016

This is a very quaint hotel that feels more like a B&B. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The two best parts of it are the complimentary hot breakfast that is made to order and the uniqueness of the large shower/jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room. The wifi is excellent, and we didn't have any problems. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, and the bed was firm and comfortable. The walls, however, are a little thin, so I could hear the neighbor's TV (albeit on very loud) and also really knew when other people were taking a shower. While there is a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and downtown that only runs every other hour, I recommend renting a car to get around and see the sights.

"A touch of Home"
M3355EApamelad, 14 Avril 2016

Excellent, Excellent- Wonderful experience at the Victorian homestead. Very peaceful and homey. Cute, quaint, perfect - without the hustle and bustle of chain type accommodations. A full breakfast and newspaper are also included.

"Nice place to stay"
freddiemv2, 07 Avril 2016

We enjoyed our stay here. Place was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly with excellent customer service. Breakfast was delicious and no issues with the free wifi. Mendenhall Glacier, grocery stores, restaurants and the movie theater is down the street. Starbucks is located in the Safeway down the street. I would recommend renting a car to drive to downtown Juneau which is a 15 minute drive away. I must say that the only drawback is hearing your neighbors. Walls are thin so you can hear people walking on the second floor or talking down the hallway. We stayed in the room downstairs at the back so it wasn't that bad. If you get frustrated with noise or are a light sleeper this might not be the place for you. Other than that, it was a very good stay.

"Quaint and Cozy"
Raventwisp, 03 Avril 2016

We arrived late on a Friday night and the professional staff were friendly and directed us to some local spots we might enjoy. Reserve early - we booked last minute and wanted to stay longer but they had a full house! Loved the breakfast in the morning and the room decor - just like staying with old family.

"Friendly and clean"
Charlotte B, 24 Mars 2016

We are just ending a week here at Grandma's. The staff is remarkable, the food is great and the rooms are comfy. I have tried to look in other rooms as I walked by and they are all slightly different. We asked for and got a room on the second floor and it is very quiet. I can strongly recommend this place to stay and eat. The breakfast was so much food we managed to skip lunch many days or eat later, saving us money.

"It's literally, Grandma's."
Amanda C, 15 Mars 2016

There's a complimentary shuttle that will pick you up from the airport! Once picked up, they took us to the wrong Best Western, but that's ok because Grandma's was just down the street. The concierge let us check in early - which was nice since we got in a bit earlier than expected. They also have a shuttle that takes you downtown, only that it runs every 2 hours on the odd hour from 0700-1900 hours. We decided to rent a car because of this. The room was quaint and comfortable! My only gripe was that the shower/jacuzzi isn't covered and it listed thatmy rrom should have a microwave, but there wasn't. Other than that, it had everything else I needed. BTW, this hotel is about 10 minutes from downtown Juneau driving.

"Great b&b"
Bikergramz, 09 Mars 2016

The staff were great, the room was good sized, bed comfortable. Quiet and clean. Free breakfast had a good variety and came with hot food in addition to the continental breakfast. Close to the airport and shopping. Will stay there again when in Juneau.

"First Time"
pdsexton, 06 Mars 2016

Had not stayed at Grandma's before, but it has the reputation as the "nicest" place to stay in Juneau. We had reservations for 3 out of 4 nights. We stayed the first night, and then had to switch to the Best Western down the road because Grandma's was full, and then we were to come back for nights 3 & 4. We ended up not coming back. I believe we had one of the smaller rooms. There is a great variety of room sizes and shapes, it would certainly pay to ask for a larger room when you make a reservation. Our room was fine, especially compared to the rest of the Juneau market. Good little restaurant on site. But we had a suite down the road, and we preferred it to our room at Grandma's.

"A nice piece of home while on the road"
Dean M, 04 Mars 2016

Just returned from a business trip to Juneau yesterday where i had stayed at Grandma's Feather Bed. i had a great experience and a great room. Over the years i have stayed at most of the hotels in town (including some B&B) and Grandma's Feather Bed is at the top of the list for me. The rooms have a unique layout so you don't necessarily feel like your in a typical hotel. The restaurant was nice with the typical and a few specialty choices. The only draw back is that they do not serve wine or beer, however since i was going to eat in my room anyway I placed my order and went to Safeway a couple of miles away. By the time i got back my meal was waiting for me. The staff were very at tentative and it was almost like I was their only guest but in the evening and in the morning. My room was in the front of the hotel so i did have a bit of traffic noise. The only question i have is if your looking for a reasonable price hotel, why wouldn't you stay here?

"BUSINESS TRIP"
Eve R, 24 Février 2016

it's always nice ot have a great hotel to stay in when on business Grandma's Feather Bed is the place to stay in Juneau when you want a great place to lay your head - the food is great too - when you don't want to leave the hotel you can go right to the dining room or have it sent to your room - whichever works best for you

"This will be the only place I stay in Juneau "
raylynn, 16 Février 2016

This is just the cutest bed and breakfast. It has a cozy, rustic feel. It is slightly worn but it seems to feel like it should be well loved. The feather beds are truly amazing. My room had a cute alcove with a table and chairs perfect to sit in the sun with my morning coffee. It is amazingly clean and I can not say enough about the customer service. From the front desk reception full of sunshine and smiles to the waitstaff in the restaurant. They assured everything was perfect. The restaurant is an added bonus with room service. The food was delicious and portions were huge. You won't go away hungry. Definitely a must do for couples.

"great B&B"
gear_guy25, 15 Février 2016

This is the second time staying here with my wife. Just like before, it was a great time. the rooms have plenty of space, the are clean and comfy, and carry the Victorian era theme in them. The whirpool bath tub is always a nice touch. The area where the toilet is very small ( I am 5'4" 200lbs), not a big deal but could be for other people. The bed is comfy but it does have feather topper on it so you might notice the quills poking through. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was very tasty. Overall a great experience and will repeat visit our next time out we go looking for a moderately priced B&B

"Very Cute and Great Staff"
Betty H, 15 Février 2016

I stayed for 6 nights. The location was convenient (close to the airport) and near my business interest. The Staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms are over the top country cute. It is a little strange having the shower right in the middle of the room, but I got used to it. The room was super clean with great house keeping staff that kept it that way while I was there.

"Grandmas Feather Bed"
jeffreyek, 11 Février 2016

What a lovely place to stay! The rooms are a little bit of a throw back but they are comfortable and quite cozy. The made to order breakfast is very nice and their dinners are very tasty as well. They give you free access to the best gym in town and I always enjoy my stay at this place. Reserve early not real big and sells out fast!

"Charming place, more like a B&B"
dreamhorse, 08 Février 2016

I went to Juneau to meet my daughter's Coast Guard ship. I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. They were extremely friendly and helpful and had a free shuttle from the airport and also to take me downtown. The breakfast was fantastic! I would love to go back and stay again!

"Great experience!"
Cynthia F, 25 Janvier 2016

As I stated previously the respect that is shown by upper management towards the employees if reflected in the experience of the guest. I appreciated the pleasant and approachable individuals who were there to accommodate my needs during my stay. The room was comfortable and homey! Great experience. I will be staying here in the future when I visit Juneau!

"More like a B&B than a hotel"
JRC089, 20 Janvier 2016

I believe that this building has only 14 rooms or so and the inside and outside looks more like a house than a Best Western hotel. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. They include a Jacuzzi or whirlpool tub, kitchenette, and plenty of room to make yourself at home. Some of the suites also have fireplaces. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and you feel welcomed and appreciated as soon as you arrive. The restaurant downstairs has pretty good food and variety for such a small place. I will definitely stay here again when we visit Juneau!

"Cute furnishings"
Steve B, 17 Janvier 2016

Nice attention to appearances. Rooms vary in decor and size. I like the furnishings in these rooms. It feels less like a hotel room and more like a bedroom because the rooms have individualized furniture. Not cookie cutter.

"truly grandmas"
Robert S, 07 Janvier 2016

we stayed in two different rooms and both were a different experience the whirlpool tubs were amazing and comfy beds its close to the store and lots of restaurants as well and if you dont have car they pick you up as wekk as take you where you like to go

"2 nights"
TMS618, 02 Janvier 2016

Cozy atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. Feels more like a bed & breakfast than a typical Best Western. Staff very friendly. Comfy bed and tub with jets in room. Room was clean. No microwave or fridge in room. Breakfast included with stay but not your typical hotel buffet. You order off their restaurant menu. Full service restaurant opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Had breakfasts and 1 dinner there....delicious food. Worth eating here, whether you are staying in the hotel or not.

"Memorable Stay"
asorens, 31 Décembre 2015

We stayed ten nights at Grandma's Featherbed celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary in September. We were thrilled with our experience. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted by some of the friendliest staff. I could write a lot about our experience but to keep it on the short side I'll just share a few of the highlights. The restaurant exceeded our expectations. We ate almost every meal there. I've never been impressed with in-hotel restaurants, but Grandma's is something special. The breakfast is the stuff dreams are made of. I kid you not. They have a build your own omelet (best ones I've ever had), fresh blueberry pancakes, french toast, and almost any other breakfast food you can think of. For lunch we ordered the carne asada tacos almost every day and never got tired of them. They are that good! It was so convenient to have a place to eat right outside our room. The actual hotel is very quaint and cozy. Each room is decorated uniquely and has its own personal charm. The best feature was the giant jetted tub! The location is also great. We were able to do many things around Juneau and Douglas and not have to worry about making a long drive back after a tiring day of hiking and exploring. One of our favorite things we did during our stay was hiking to Herbert Glacier (pictured below). Probably the most beautiful thing we've ever seen! It is a ten mile hike round trip, so expect to spend most of the day making the trek. But again, with the hotel so conveniently located you don't have to be bothered with a long drive back into town afterward. Visiting Alaska was a dream come true for us and staying at Grandma's Featherbed was the icing on the cake.

"comfortable and quiet"

Front sign is not noticeable before passing the driveway. It should be better lit. The stairs and ramp are easy to use. There is no elevator on property, so be aware of that. The room count is small, so availability can be limited. Each room is unique, so some have amenities, that another does not. You have a more intimate setting, unlike properties that are geared towards getting the customer in and out. The dining area is like a small personal restaurant, with real china and utensils. Glasses are-GLASS, nice. Hot Breakfast is included in room reservation, or you can order lunch or dinner separately. The prices vary.

"Clean and Comfortable"

The motel staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable; it included a large bathroom area with a whirlpool bath, a separate bedroom, and even a small kitchen area. There were a few tight corners (doors that got in the way, etc), but overall the room was well lit, tastefully decorated, and very clean. I enjoyed my stay immensely.

"Quaint setting, friendly staff"
Rhonda S, 27 Novembre 2015

Check in was easy and Chris helped with my bags. The room was decorated like a B&B and was very comfortable. Large jacuzzi tub. Excellent food with room service. Great housekeeping service. No complaints. Will be back next time business takes me there.

"We were so well taken care of!"
rn2travelers, 18 Novembre 2015

This hotel was perfect for our week in Juneau! Terrific staff- very attentive but not overbearing at all. The property is on the older side but considering the available properties to stay in Juneau, and the price, this was the winner for us! Our stay included breakfast each morning, fresh and lovely from the just downstairs restaurant. Very quaint, made us feel like we were at Gram's! This was a PERFECT base camp for our exploration of this gem of a city, Juneau! We would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

"Unique rooms and Friendly Staff"
Leaddog83, 16 Novembre 2015

Stayed after a cruise, and loved our time there. Our bed was quite tall, requiring a step to get in, and the feather mattress (yes, they live up to their name) was comfortable, but scratchy, so you need to fluff it up to stop the quills from sticking you! All rooms seemed to be a different design and layout, so ask to see options if you can. Easy location to the airport, and a short drive to town, but close to other shopping areas. Would definitely stay there again if in Juneau!

"Love Love Love this hotel"

I have stayed at the Best Western Grandma's Feather Bed twice now and will not stay any place else when I visit Juneau, unless I have to. The rooms are large and cozy. There is a warmth when you walk into these rooms that you only get when you stay with friends or family. The large jet tub is relaxing and a wonderful treat after traveling then working all day. The large feather bed invites you to snuggle in and never get up and large fluffy, comfortable pillows. I don't sleep well at hotels, but I sleep like a baby when I stay here. It has the feel of a Bed and Breakfast in a hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful as well.

"Great customer service"
RipleyLake, 08 Novembre 2015

One of the better hotels that I have stayed at. Friendly staff with excellent attitudes and great customer service. Very good breakfast; lunch and dinner served with a limited menu. Located near the airport with shuttle service..

"The Best Place in Juneau!!!!!!!!!!"
bill s, 07 Novembre 2015

This place is a jewel. Attended by diligent young people who aren't strangers to hospitality, sensitivity or hard work. The room was spotless, the Hotel condition was first rate. the food at the hotel was better than any restaurant in Juneau. Free shuttle, free wifi, and the hotel room prices and food have value. We were so impressed that we extended our stay by 2 extra days. We don't believe there is a better place in Juneau. Not only will we return, but also, we highly recommend this lovely hotel to anybody.

"Great Hotel Option"

My team stayed at this hotel for business. All had an excellent stay. The breakfast was perfect and the staff very friendly. The feather beds were comfortable and each of our rooms had a different theme.

"Easy to see why it's hard to get a reservation here"
WoodsResidents, 18 Octobre 2015

This is reputedly the smallest Best Western in the entire chain and is clearly made from a different mold! Of relatively recent construction, it was built to resemble a Victorian farmhouse, complete with front porch, rocking chairs and hanging baskets of flowers. The interior is assertively homey, from the dining room off the lobby to the individually decorated rooms. (They call them "suites" and indeed all the ones I saw were large.) Each feature comfortable feather beds and big whirlpool tubs; ours also had cheery wallpaper, a huge chandelier, small table and chairs and a brick wall with a decorative fireplace. We'd asked for quiet and it was, so we slept very well there. Grandma's and another Best Western down the road share a shuttle bus that will pick guests up at the airport (nearby) or state ferry (farther away) and upon request even take them downtown. That's a big bonus for those arriving or leaving at odd hours. Guests also have the option of eating right there; dinner was pretty darn good, although they have no liquor license. And breakfast is included -- cooked to order during the usual hours, with a few things like muffins and fruit put out early for those heading to one of those 6 am ferries.

"Felt like staying with family..."
KobyCanada, 11 Octobre 2015

While this is a small property and would expect great service, the staff exceeded our expectations. We were treated like family - in the great context :) The breakfast service and selections were awesome. Most memorable part of stay was the service provided by the young staff - they were amazing.

"Great stay near Juneau airport"
Michael J T, 08 Octobre 2015

Good value with quality rooms and an excellent hot breakfast. Also good food for dinner and reasonable prices. Rooms are well kept up and the internet works well. There are not many other amenities but there is access to a local health club which provides lots of options for keeping up your fitness routine.

"Wonderful and peaceful stay"
Tim S, 07 Octobre 2015

This special accommodation has maintained its consistent high quality and service for many years. Love the included all you can eat (essentially) breakfast. Lovely Hostesses! Yet better rates than other area hotels.

"Beautiful and Great Food"
Robert C, 05 Octobre 2015

Great visual appeal at the entrance, feels like a B&B. All front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, room was clean and the food was OUTSTANDING. Only complaint that I have is that the walls are thin and I could hear EVERYTHING going on next door and across the hall. Only an issue if you are a light sleeper like myself. Overall experience was great though. R

"A Gem in Juneau"
Jennifer F, 04 Octobre 2015

Lovely rooms and terrific staff! My husband and I stayed here in July 2015. We came to Alaska for a 12-day river rafting trip and needed a hotel in Juneau for a few nights stay before and after the trip. So we ended up staying at Grandma's twice in two weeks. Because of this arrangement, we stayed in two different rooms. Both were great and during housekeeping time, we got a peek at a few other rooms and they looked equally spacious and relaxing. One thing to note - The first time we stayed we were in the room on the second floor (I think there's only one). It is a fantastic room and I would choose it again under different circumstances. The night we stayed in that room was in the middle of a heat wave, and the hotel doesn't have air-conditioning. They have fans that they put in the rooms, and you can open the windows - it's not noisy in this part of the world. However. It was very humid and hot in that second floor room even with the fans and the window open. I really think this was an unusual experience and the weather was uncharacteristically warm for our stay that night. It was even being talked about in the news. Like I said, I'd stay in the second floor room again in cooler weather. It was very large and since it was the only room at the top of the stairs, it felt like we were staying in our own private retreat. The second room we stayed in was on the ground floor, and it was also very nice. We loved the giant soaking tubs in all the rooms - especially on our stay after our 12-day rafting trip! Breakfast was great. We liked the restaurant area, although we didn't eat any other meals there. They offer a free shuttle service that will take you in to town every other hour (and bring you back), but you do have to reserve your seat with the front desk. On one trip into town, we'd called around 4:30 p.m. to say that we'd like to return on the 7 p.m. shuttle. When we arrived at the pick-up location, they had two shuttles already filled with passengers so they called a taxi for us and the hotel paid for it. I really appreciated that - it was great customer service. I'm sure the fact that we had clearly requested to be on the return shuttle rather than just showing up unexpected made a difference in how they handled that situation, too. They also provide shuttle service to and from the airport, which is just 3 minutes down the road. The nearness to the airport was a terrific convenience for us since are flights arrived late in the evening and departed very early in the morning. Also, I had wondered if being so close to the airport would mean that we'd hear airplane noise, but this was not the case.

"best of the bunch"
L K, 23 Septembre 2015

My husband and I stayed at Grandma's Feather bed at the beginning of September for 3 nights. At first glance I wondered what I had done, but when I saw the competition in town I knew I had made the right decision. The rooms are nice enough and clean enough, the bed is not quite as comfortable as hoped - to be honest it could do with a little less of the "feather bed" touch as the sheets dont stay on due to all the mattress topping. We had breakfast a couple of days which was good and plentiful. THere were brothers, Josh and Vili who drive the shuttle to and from the town, who are delightful and an asset to the Best Westerns, also some sisters that work in the dining room/reception who were so friendly and helpful. I needed to go to a doctor and one of them told me where I should go and actually drove me there. They were both really lovely. The shuttle to and from town is perfectly adequate and to be staying away from the town was much nicer. The town can swell by 10000 people some days when four cruise ships come in. Its much nicer out near the airport. Restaurants are hard to find but we managed. Id recommend staying here over the town hotels.

"Home Away from Home"
Cecilia M, 18 Septembre 2015

Grandma's has to be the best hotel in Juneau. With just 14 rooms and breakfast included, it's more like staying at a B&B than a hotel. The front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, and maintenance staff are all incredible and welcoming. The dinner chef in particular was super as she responded to our request for a special dish that wasn't on the menu that week. The whole stay made our anniversary special.

"Charming Hotel but Restaurant Questionable"
Monty1424, 17 Septembre 2015

My wife and I stayed at this small hotel this month and found the rooms and overall service to be very good. Unlike most hotels in Juneau, this one has charm. It is located only a few minutes from the airport and provides free shuttle service both from and to the airport and also downtown (about a 20 min ride). Breakfast was good. What disappointed us was the dinner. Note there are restaurants in town but going there and back if you do not have a car is not convenient. The chef did not appear to know how to prepare fish dishes as the two we ordered were overcooked, dry and tasteless. As seafood is popular of course in Alaska this was surprising. The restaurant does not have a liquor license so no wines or beers containing alcohol are available.
