Great location but bring your own pillows. The pillows in the hotel are terrible and they offer no other option. Not all rooms have air conditioning and they fail to mention that when booking. Greabreakfast

We stayed here for two nights with our dog and have no complaints. The hotel is modern, nice, and clean, and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location is central and the rooms were nice and surprisingly well-isolated regarding sound. The breakfast was of high quality and as we needed to leave early, we were supplied with takeaway boxes upon request so that we could take our food with us instead of eating there. The staff also allowed us to bring dessert from the restaurant up to our room—as mentioned, service was very friendly and warm, which we appreciated. Everything worked well during our stay, and I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is my favourite to use when I am staying in Jönköping. All of the staff are super friendly and willing to help if ever its needed. The Breakfast buffet is great with everything you could ask for to choose from. The evening Menu in the restaurant has also a great selection. The rooms are well appointed with all the small extras that you could need. Location is very central with lots of shops located in the streets behind and town just a few minutes walk away. There is also a bus stop directly outside for convenience if you need to travel a little further like for example the Husqvarna Garden arena.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night. The location is excellent, as it's close to the city centre of Jönköping. The hotel is quite old, so many of the common areas feel a bit rustic. The same goes for the room, although the bathroom and furniture were somewhat more modern. Everything was clean, though we noticed a bit of mould in the shower area. It was a nice surprise to have a fridge in the room. Breakfast was good, with a variety of both hot and cold dishes. Overall, a recommendable place!

The best hotel in Jönköping. I have been staying here almost every week for the last two years while working in the area. All of the staff are super friendly and always helpful . Over my two years I have stayed in all of the different levels of rooms with each one of them being spacious and modern. Great Breakfast with lovely, friendly staff The best reception staff. Great hotel. Room clean and newly refurbished Restaurant staff very friendly . Had a schrimp sandwich which was good. Hotel has a good location. Our room had a comfortable bed and nice view to Munkasjön. Didn't test the sauna or gym I would recommend this hotel

Terrible breakfast, more like an motorway service cafe, and its do it yourself service, not good at these room prices….we paid £200 per night. Fried eggs and scrambled eggs only luke warm every morning as they are cooked then left on serving dishes. As for fruit it was melon or melon. Make your own tea and coffee.

The people working in the bar and restaurant are super, nice and cunning. God food and nice drinks and lots of god talks. Thaks to them we came back after our walk on the town and spent the rest of the evening in the bar. We will be back again and spend some more time in the town, and this is the place we will stay in.

The John Bauer was our central meeting point for our family meeting/reunion. We took full advantage, staying, meeting and having our meals at the hotel over our weekend. The rooms were all that we needed and very comfortable. Easy to connect to the internet. The staff was very accommodating and we felt very well taken care of. I would not hesitate to stay here again, should I find myself in Jönköping.

Guest that stay longer than a week should get some “make life easier things” like fridge And coffee machines And like things like this. Hotel workers tried to help but it should be taken into consideration and planificación, in my opinion. Lovely clean hotel, with friendly staff, great breakfast (though coffee not hot), and the world's smallest gym! Feeble aircon and unusually warm weather combined to make sleeping a little difficult, but that shouldn't be a problem most of the year! Would definitely stay there again if visiting the area.

Nice room. Fantastic breakfast. Parking underneath the hotel. Nice and knowledgeable staff. The hotel is located in the middle of the city center close to the water. There is busses right outsider the hotel if you ned tyst. Otherwise there is walking distance to many places and restaurants.

The location is great near to the city center reachable by feet. The frontdesk personnel is also very freindly and make me feel very welcome there. It was my second stay there and I will definately come back again.Only thing I had a problem with was matrees which was too soft for me, but that is my personal preference :-)

Fine hotel, well situated in the hart of Jonkoping. Decent breakfast and a good lunch are served. Beds a good and the rooms are clean. Meetings rooms are fine as well and the staff is friendly. The underground car park is pretty small and tight as well.

I booked the room because of the lake view but there was no lake view. Im very disappointed! BW should not be ok with hotels lie about their rooms. I was promised to get a phonecall about compensation, its been a whole week and not a single phonecall. Really really bad customer service. I sleep around 50 nights per year in hotels with work. I usally use scandic hotels, and I have nerver experienced this really bad service.

Stayed here for four nights during Jonkoping Ironman 70.3. It's the BEST location ever, even better than the host hotel around the corner. It's right on the run course, the swim start is directly in front of the hotel, and it's close to the transition. The morning of the race we went to the bike transition then came back to the hotel to stay warm until 10 minutes before the start. So convenient! Race week they had towels and water to clean your bike, and a bike pump to borrow. They were nice about having your bike in the room, as well as offered earlier than normal breakfast the weekend of the race. The hotel room was super comfy and we slept great in the beds, the view was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. We've been tracking in Europe for 2 weeks so far and no hotel has done as delicious and varied of a breakfast as the do in Ester Kok, thanks to Perry and his team of cooks. For a small family you can rent a room with a sofa couch, we did this for our young son and it was a great fit.

The bed is too narrow。The bed was too narrow, we booked a family trip, but we were given two very small single beds and could not be exchanged for us, the view from the window was not good. Service attitude is not very satisfied.

The #500 suite was fantastic! From the sauna, to the comfortable bed, to the scenic views from the sitting area, the deep bathtub, twin standing showers, 2 separate toilets, electric double blinds all around the suite, cleanliness, and more! I have no major complaints only a few suggestions which I have already mentioned in a feedback questionnaire. Hope to book it again, and will definitely recommend it to friends, family, and colleagues looking for a delux room in Jönköping.

Though the room was extremely tight for two adults and one teenager, this hotel is in a great location. When we checked in we asked for a restaurant recommendation but that was the gentleman's first night so he didn't know the area well. He was very kind though. We asked for pillows and they never actually came.

After an awful trip I arrive at John Bauer and upon checking staff was super friendly. I got a junior suite with an amazing lake view. I could relax after the crazy trip and enjoy such a cosy hotel and room.

Central location, but still easy to access by car and several parking options nearby. Interior is inspired by, and beautifully decorated with, the imagery of John Bauer. Even the atrium outside my room - which can otherwise be an eyesore - was transformed to a Baueresque forest! The room was adequate: plus for the comfy bed and very good water pressure in the shower, minus for the poorly fitted room door that left a 4-5 mm crack to the hallway. Breakfast was well above average. Somewhat limited selection, but everything that was there was of high quality, fresh and nicely presented. Overall, a very nice hotel and I will certainly be back next time I'm in Jönköping.

Just great. No charge for pets, car parking on site and very reasonably priced, good food, good beer, great rooms, great location, great staff. 7 stays so far, they never put a foot wrong and we will be back (actually in about a week!). Coming to Jonkoping? Stay here.

Lovely place to stay in Jönköping. Great location, clean and fresh rooms, delicious breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff. Only criticism is the breakfast lady refilled the bread baskets with her bare hands - no gloves. Rather unhygienic, even in non-COVID times.

Great service, great location. Poor water pressure in the shower. Confusing about the key in the elevator after 8. Perfect with a restaurant when it was raining outside. Generous breakfast buffe. Fan in the bathroom would be nice.

Great hotel, nice room with a good view over the lake. Good breakfast. However, there didn't seem to be much concern for Covid at breakfast. Everyone shares the same cutlery for taking food items, for example. There was no way to keep distance from each other either.

An enjoyable 2 night stay this month .Hotell has a garage car park .Staff all very helpful and pleasant .Nearto many shops and museums .will come again .It was also very easy to find in Jonkoping .Book B and B because many eateries but their restaurant is good too and we chose it one night .

Stayed over on our way to Malmö. Parked the car in the garage which is exceptionally tight. Happy I didn't drive a big car in there. Reception area and rooms nice and clean. Good breakfast. Nothing special. A little over priced and I would chose hotel Vox around the corner over this one anytime.

We stayed here for one night. We travel a lot and are very demanding but this hotel gave us nothing to complain about. Everything was great. Very nice restaurant with excellent staff. Breakfast and the staff there was great aswell. Room was very comfortable and nice. The relax area with a dry sauna and steam sauna were nice. We were very impressed. Bravo!

Generally speaking, the hotel is quite good. The location is quite central and close to the lake. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was quite good. I'm not giving a full 5 stars just because we had to wait more than 10 minutes for the receptionist since he/she was gone for a while. It was a Sunday afternoon but nonetheless, I think it is not good to have guests wait so long, especially as the parking spots nearby are limited to 5 or 15 minutes max.

A nice newly renovated hotel in a central and good location in Jönköping. Rooms are standard size but with a fresh look, service and breakfast is good and in line with expectations. Its better than the average Best Western hotel!

The hotel its self is quite nice and modern. Located very well in city heart, many restaurants around. Has own parking garage. Business room (no.305)I finally got was good, nice, on the 3rd floor overlooking the street and partially lake, it was light, floor heating in the bathroom. Breakfast good, but exactly the same every day, some variation would be good. Small gym is in the basement with sauna as well. Hotel restaurant is little pricey, but good food quality and taste. Negatives - the biggest one was the approach of the reception manager at my arrival, when I was suppose to have King Room, but the plumbing there could be heard very much in the room from the floor above, so they gave me lower standard room (Business room) without any price difference or compensation. After my claim I got finally a voucher for the hotel bar for two beers... In my room was a bathtub, just standing alone without isolation at the walls, maybe more suitable would be the shower corner. And it was quite cold in the room, the local heater did not work, just blowed the air...

Found a lot of hair on the clean bed sheets. Called the reception and got it changed. During breakfast the sliced tomatoes were moldy. I told the staff who thanked me for saying something but they did not check if any more tomatoes were moldy. Lost my apetit.

Room was good size but toilet have odour from scuppers. Personnel was polite and professional. Breakfast was varied and balanced. Garage was quite small and some parking space was taken to storage use.

It is a nice hotel with good breakfast, very quiet and nice rooms, the bed was too hard to my liking. I did not find the black out blinds the first night, that combined with a very bright light from the clock underneath the television disturbed my sleep the first night.

Good single room. Nice and friendly servicedesk. Gym was also in good condition equipped with what you need for a whole body workout. Breakfast gives you what you can expect from a good quality hotel. Thought through selections. Did not eat dinner so about that I can't say. Overall a very nice hotel close to shopping, restaurants et.c.

When we came the girl att the reception was very upset. We had ordered a room 2 adults and 3 Children. It was alsp confirmed by you Before arriving at the hotel. We got an extra bed but the girl wereupset and blamed me.

A warm welcome and immediate assignation of a room. This was great after a quite long trip from México. We do not speak Swedish at all, Best Western employees speak English. Excellent breakfast. By far, the best option in Jönköping.

You have to ask for everything! And when you ask for it, you rarely get it, because they don't communicate that further with the cleaning staff. And they are stingy. The new towels I was getting always had hairs on them, and what happened this time is that the cups I were using in the room didn't get changed out, I was getting the same cups back and I didn't get coffee and toilet paper refill. Reception sometimes chills in the back office, and its super annoying for when you have a quick matter to ask them. There's a lot of room for improvement!

The hotel serves the best breakfast. The rooms are very clean and nice but its worth coming here only for the breakfast. A nice atmosphere in the hotel with lounge music. Close to the city - walking distance.

At first we had a room facing the backyard, later gear up to a bigger room at the front. Both exellent but the smaller one was not so noicy and a littel more modern. There where actually no reason to surch for unather restaurant, excellent food and a good bar! Not the last time...!

I had an excellent weekend. The room and bathroom was newly renovated in calm nice colors. The food was delicious, both at breakfast, lunch and at dinner. And the location was perfect i can recommend this hotel.

Hotel is nice but restaurant is awesome!!! I had the chance to eat only once and the food was spectacular. I arrived just before the closing time but the staff was very friendly and helpful and they provided us everything we asked for.

Nothing has to be changed as far as I could see. Keep on in the same way as now. I would have been informed about the parking Place under the hotel when I booked the room, but should of course asked self. Good breakfast. Nice view. Good facilities. Everthing excellent. We hade a very pleasant stay at BW John Bauer hotel. The hotel is very nice, with a relaxed atmosphere, the rooms were very comfortable and absolutely silent, the staff so professional and kind and the breakfast made us want to stay for hours.

Two days in a beautiful suite - absolutely perfect! As a REWARDS member we were given two vouchers to be used at the restaurant, the mini bar or the reception shop (as stated on the back of the vouchers). The employee at the checkout desk refused to accept the vouchers stating that they are not valid at the reception shop (although it is stated so on the back of the voucher). And we were informed that the two vouchers were not valid any more at the day of checking out. Having paid SEK 8'100 for those two nights in the suite, this attitude is cheap and unpolite!

I have stayed here on numerous occasions and the hotel is very well situated and the rooms are good if you have one of the big rooms but tiny if you get one of the small rooms with a single bed. No chocolates this time which was disappointing! Breakfast is great!

Exellent room and nice frech bathroom. very comfy bed - had a really good nights sleep. Breakfast could be better. Not the choice the you have in other Best Western I've been staying at. Staff is very friendly. Garage hade good saftey for our car!

I stayed in this hotel with my family for one night, the hotel is small but nicely located near the water, it has a nice front outside seating, the lobby is small with outdated furniture, the staff who was at the reception understands english but does not speak the language well, he is polite and cooperative, the room is spacious and clean with reasonable furniture and equipment. Fridge , safe and hair dryer are available, no walk in shower at bathroom, the pillows are not comfortable, I asked for 2 extra pillows but given one only, the breakfast is ok, one staff only seen at breakfast time.

We occupied two rooms. Our daughter and her two young children stayed in a room with a double and a single bed. Both rooms were clean and comfortable with excellent beds. They offered a nice view of the city and the lake. We were able to park our car in the garage of the hotel at a daily charge of SEK 130. The breakfast was relaxed and offered a reasonable choice of dishes. Upon request espresso's could be ordered. Also the front desk staff was very accommodating, trying to meet our requests. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Centrally located, fast check-in/check-out, fabulous breakfast. Good to know things: - Parking either in a parking garage ahead of the hotel, or outdoors parking after the hotel. Check with hotel beforehand. - No iron board in the room. - Blackout curtains/blinders in the window. I didn't notice at first and woke up too early to the lights.

The hotel was nice and clean. Place in the central part of Jönköping. The staff was welcoming and very friendly. It was a nice and comfortable stay. Had the pleasure of having a cup of coffee late in the evening as I relaxed downstairs before going to bed. The coffee, bed and the room was nice. I enjoy my stay very much.

We chose this hotel based on the fact that it supposed to have air conditioning. It didn't. Had a small fan in the room. The room wasn't clean and it looked like it needed an upgrade. The pictures here shows the renovated rooms but be aware that only some of the rooms have been renovated. The sink in the bathroom had a problem with drainage. The window in our room faced an inner yard and another building with apartments. We couldn't have the curtains open as anyone could have seen inside the room. I wouldn't rate this one as a 4-star and it definately wasn't worth 130€/night. We stayed at much better and cheaper hotels in Stockholm and Malmö. The staff was friendly, the breakfast delicious and there was no extra fee to bring a pet. They also had a ped, bowls and treats for our dog, which was a nice touch. The hotel is located right in the center.

Clean and nice hotel with a great location. Near buses and the city centre shopping area. Some rooms on the lower floors have no view. Renovated rooms in upper floors give better day light. Good breakfast and nice bar, even a play room for kids.

I missed the tomatoes at the brakfast! Otherwise the staff was execellent and the room was good. The hotel is situated in the center so you can walk to all interisting things! There is a very good garage that is useful but the cost is a Little bit high in my opinoin.

Helpful staff, some minor dmgs in room dropped the grade to 4. like tub drainage missing cord, and plugg to change water path between tub and shower was loose. ( shouldnt be in a 4 star establishment )

This is a super boutique hotel with a great layout and feel. All the staff were extremely friendly and happy to help with any request. Rooms were spacious, very clean & the shower pressure was amazing. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from. The layout of the hotel gives some fantastic places to relax inside or out, so a great place to sit and watch the world go past. For us, this is the place to stay if your are staying in Jonkoping.

Nice and cozy hotel downtown Jonkoping. The hotel had a great breakfast and the room was very quiet. I would recommend for other people to stay here if they are traveling to Jonkoping. there was a also an extremely nice food market.

A good hotel centrally in Jönköping. Room was well sized, nicely decorated, had comfortable beds, and was tidy and clean. Walking distance to many good restaurants etc. at the northern shore of Munksjön or at the pier in lake Vättern.

This is an amazing hotel from its comfortable, modern rooms to the breakfast to the staff. Our room exceeded our expectations. It was large with a great view of the water. When we checked in we were a bit confused about the room so the front desk person came up to our room to make sure we had the correct room. The electronics were a bit new to us but with a little “exploration” we figured out how everything worked. The location was perfect, close to most places of interest. The breakfast was elegant with a large number of choices to satisfy all tastes in breakfast food. It was such a relaxing environment that we were sad to leave.

The hotel is very well located and I was lucky enough to have a room with a view to the water. The bed is comfortable, very clean and I loved the chocolates on the bed every night. It put a smile on my face and made my day! The only negative about the room was the shower. I had an old bath tub with the shower and after washing hair there was more water on the floor than anywhere else. The breakfast was amazing with so much to choose. It will easily suit everybody! Also, you can have dinner at the hotel but it is a short walk to lots of restaurants and a good walk along the water.The staff were also very friendly and very helpful. Loved all the art work in the hotel! I would highly recommend it.

Fresh clean room. Breakfast is very extense. Tables with streetview are very nice. The garage is tiny, so do not come in a big 4x4 Young, friendly and very competent staff. Location right in the town center.

I found the hotel looking for a suitable place just for a stop over. And it turned out a really nice place. Tidy room with very comfortable bed. Quiet. Good breakfast with a huge choice. Friendly staff.

Stayed one night after booking the same day. It is quite newley rebult with nice interior, very clean, good bed, two sitting chairs in the room. The breakfast was nice with a good variety. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very good place: location, reception, cleanliness, breakfast, wifi, and even price (!!) were very good. It was just too short, because I spent just 2 nights for a conference at the local university. I recommend it.

Nice location close to the water and the city center. Great views, Nice and friendly staff. The breakfast fast really good. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable, but it was placed really strange. Like 40cm from the window. So it was space between the bed and window but it could not be used for much. Overall great but the bed placement..

Hotel has been improved with new and modern interior with renovation. I miss a small fridge from the past .. And there is still much dust from bed clothes such as, blanket and .. for the rest.. still satisfied.

I was staying 2 nights and I must say the cleaning, facilities, breakfast and service was all excellent! The single room was quiet and had everything that I needed. The distance to other shops nearby is short.

The John Bauer is a home away from home. Very friendly and warm staff that provide the best of service. There is not a negative aspect of the hotel that can be mentioned. From the food, atmosphere, reception, to the cleanliness its ALL GREAT. If you are visiting from the states don't look any further. The hotel is located in the town with access to everything. The restaurant and bar are top quality. The breakfast is a REAL BREAKFAST. Its healthy oriented buffet with a large variety of fresh food. Fruit, meats, cheese, eggs, yogurt, fresh juices, breads, and more. All freshly prepared, no powered eggs here. The breakfast is included in the stay and would easily be $20 each at any restaurant. The staff will go out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible. Don't pass it up.

Friendly staff, good drinks and delicious breakfast. In the middle of the town, close to everything. The room itself was nice, modern and clean. But: the bathroom was old and in bad shape. On the booking site shows nice and newly renovated ones, but I got one from the late 90`s. The hotel manager´s answer was "going to be renovated, but there are plenty other rooms and categories to choose until then". I am not sure if that is the right attitude, since according to the website the hotel is newly renovated. If I knew, that the bathroom is so creepy I would have never booked this hotel. The other issue was the parking. I booked and payed a parking spot as it is recommended on the hotels website, but in the end I didn't get any place on the evening. For the staff´s recommendation I parked on the side of the garage. These issues made me feel fooled, because I didn't get what I paid for. And as an overall impression it doesn't feel like a 4 star hotel.

Best Western Hotel John Bauer I book them a lot and the service is always good. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff are very welcoming and helpful! I can highly recommend them. We book them for bushiness trips.

In the evening we could hear another dog barking and the music from the bar through the walls.

The hotel and room was over alll perfect. The room was big and the view over the lake was just perfect. The crew was super helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really delicious. Lot to choose between. And the room was really clean. A stay on the hotel is really highly recommended.

Very good situated in the heart of Jönköping. Has own parking garage (Not easy to find/enter: have to drive on bus lane) Rooms not big but has to lounge chairs plus one desk chair. In our room bathroom seemed to have been renovated.

This Hotel did its best during my week of work in Jönköping. Nice rooms wirh great beds, I could nor ask for more. Really like the USB outlets for charging the phone. Breakfast buffet have what I need to start the day. Thanks to the people working at John Bauer Hotel!

This hotel is very clean and service is excellent. There are many options for breakfast so you can try any meal. It is in center of city and all kind of shops and restaurant are nearby so it is easy to go around. Nearby lake is there and that lake is beautiful. Service, staff and hygiene all excellent in this hotel so I can recommend this hotel for anyone who would like to stay for week or month.

I've little hotel set on the main road, the main checking in area is nice with cool art work dotted about and comfy seat etc. Check in was nice and easy only drama was the booked me and my work mate in a room with a double bed. The hotel sorted fast and gave us a few beers tokens which was great.. breakfast is good lots of choice and nice and fresh which makes a change to some of the best western hotels I have stayed in. I would say the gym needs a few more things but in the real world do many people use it. Tge hotel Over all friendly staff, clean hotel with a nice little vibe. You can park under ground can be tight. Loads of places to eat near by...

This is a hotel I can wholeheartedly recommend! Arrived at 4.30 am after a 15 hour car drive from Dortmund, Germany. The guy at the reception could have not been nicer. When I asked him if the hotel room had water he went to get a cold bottle for me just to be sure. When I asked what time the check out was, he offered to postpone it. Brilliant, proactive service! The hotel seems to be quite new and the single room was a nice size with a desk. The shower was really good with adequate water pressure. Had it also had an iron and an ironing board, it would have been 100% perfect. Breakfast was included and looked very good with a lot of fresh produce. There is a nice terrace outside the hotel with glass ceilings. Also a covered terrace for smokers. The hotel offers its own garage for parking (SEK 130 / night).

We stayed here 4 nights during June, with excellent service from the welcoming staff throughout. We had an excellent suite with a bedroom, a second private sleeping area, and a day bed sofa, giving us room to spread out as we wished. Convenient on site parking, good breakfast, and close to many excellent restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

A very nice hotel with great service. Rooms were nice. It was a bit difficult to find the hotel by car and also to get to the parking. Right in the center with a lot of restaurants around. Very busy at breakfast with limited seating.

Centrally located hotel with garage. I first got a room on the second floor, it was very dark with a window facing the outside bar area. It was not possible to regulate the heat in the room which was very warm and I did not feel comfortable sleeping with an open window when people could walk right outside. I spoke to the receptionist who was very friendly and serviceminded. I got another room on the fifth floor where it was safe to sleep with an open window. This room was much nicer. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

Hotel location is great. All the restaurants, small shops and lake walk are right across the street. Hotel has secure private parking. Staff is friendly and speaks english. Breakfast is excellent. Definitely coming back when driving by Jonköping again.

Best hotel in the Jonkoping area. If you are in the south central Sweden area this is a highly recommended hotel. The entire staff are excellent. The hotel is modern and located in the best location in Jonkping.

I admit I had too high expectations on this hotel after reading all the positive reviews here on TripAdvisor. Don't get me wrong, the stay was OK in every way, but I would have thought the room standard &c would be higher. I stayed for two nights in a single room. The bed was too hard for me and I didn't sleep well the first night. Curtains could not be drawn over the entire window. What I did like about the room was the big desk, which made it easy and comfortable to work for a few hours. Breakfast was lovely with a variety of healthy choices - which I had every intention of trying out, until I found the waffles :-) Also nice to find lots of fruit, even more unusual sorts like passion fruit - yum, yum! Funny thing about the hotel entrance, it smells like horse!?! Or maybe wet dog? This was not a problem for me, I just couldn't figure out why. All in all, this is an alright stay with a great location, but I have a hard time believing it is actually one of the top three hotels in Jönköping (as currently rated by TripAdvisor reviewers).

Traveling through Jonkoping and needed a predictable hotel, settled for this BW. Location was downtown, parking scarce, so had to pay a lot to park at hotel. Room was small, bed was comfortable, shower was hot, view was non-existent. Breakfast was average, but dinner looked better. Good service at desk though. Pretty expensive at $150+.

Nice situated at small lake with a lot of restaurants on walking distance. Nice check in. Room okay. Don't understand why hotels have so low hanging showers. Also the bathroom can need some refurbishment. Breakfast more than okay. Enjoyed the stay and best hotel experience so far in JÖNKÖPING

Everything was very good except very dangerous carpets in the corridors ( I lived on 2nd floor) outside the elevator and to the rooms. The carpets were not flattened out but laid in Waves - very dangerous and risk for falling if persons do not look down on the floor. Most persons do nor look down on the floor when they come out of the elevators but look on the walls to see their roomnumber. I informed the woman who checked me out.

It is always a pleasure to stay at John Bauer, the service is in top and the interior is fancy and functional. The food, beer and wine selection is top notch. Stay there for business or weekend pleasure.

We were able to check in early and we were greeted w a very welcoming smile and attitude. We had a great welcoming and very warm. Check in was a breeze as was the parking. We had rented a dog room and we were very pleased to see how charming and nice look ok'ing the room was. In the past (*Not at this hotel*) the rooms we had when traveling w our dog were very much dog rooms. The rooms were dirty, run down and very unpleasant looking. Many had a smell but at JB hotel that was not the case. The room was bright, well maintained and the bonus was that they provided a dog bed, treats and a poop bag. We also had bowls for food and water. Our dog was very welcomed in all of the hotel and the staff was great w him and w us. The food was good and the service was good as well. The was a few snaps but it was taken care of in no time. The clerk at the desk was amazing- I wish I would have gotten her name but I missed it. She was great and very helpful! I would go back, and we will go back as I have found Jönköping to be a nice little city.

Excellent personal staff, clean rooms you can choose any room. The hotel is located in the center close to all means of transport. The hotel has a restaurant and the food is very good. As a recommendation, if you spend more time, it might alternate your breakfast, that is, have 2 or 3 variants to alternate In different days. Over all I recommend this hotel.

Surely the best place to stay in Jönköping. Located right in the center at the lake. Delicious breakfast with a very wide offer was a great start of the day. Very nice hotel bar with a possibility to sit outside. We also enjoyed the fall evening with sitting under the warm heaters. The hotel has also a little gym in the basement in case you want to exercise.

Breakfast in Sweden is generally an open sandwich and coffee, hot chocolate or tea. For me and especially when traveling on business I prefer an omelette which gives the energy for day. There was a young chef lady which was so kind and preparing a great tasty omelette and even served the omelette to the table. Thank you so much to the breakfast team making the start of the day so great and feeling like home.

This is a really good hotel in the BW chain. It's not expensive (for Sweden!) but it's clean and comfortable. There's a restaurant, which I didn't try, and a bar, which I did. I took part in the quiz with the Swedes at my table. There is secure parking and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was very good and included in the price. The hotel is dead centre of town so you don't have to walk too far for other bars and restaurants. My picture shows the waterfront just opposite the hotel.

The hotel is very accommodating with great staff and comfortable rooms. The restaurant has a chef that prepares great meals. Breakfast is all you can imagine. There are 2 full bars with great staff. Located in town within walking distance of everything you need. I have stayed here several times and will always come back. You are treated like family not just a guest. Plan ahead they are booked. Having business in the area, booked two nights. Summer period, so the Hotel full and so was the garage. Had to park 200 meters away. Swift check-in, single room with queen size bed. Very clean, fast internet, coffee facilities, big TV and modern rather small bathroom. Small fridge. Bed very comfortable. Great location. Breakfast above average and will be back just for the Bacon. Many children during Holidays. Back if in the area.

Perfect stay for downtown Jönköping Bathtub instead of shower - not my preference Had room in 3rd floor, that is the lowest floor for getting view on the lake ( there is a building inbetween hotel and lake) lake view means also view to main road ( there was not much traffic the time we stayed there)

We came by car and after some trouble in the streets we did find the hotel and the parking garage just left of the entrance to the hotel. Very modern style Clean and nice rooms. Breakfast was nice, wifi was ok but not excellent. Nice outside area for us smoking people in the summer.

I have been visiting Best Western Hotels before and I know what to expect from them. Decent quality and good design for no-frills rooms service that could be better. To my surprise the Best Western in Jönköping turned out to be far above my expectations and one of the best hotels I have visited in Sweden. Important to note: we stayed in the second floor of the hotel, which has been renovated recently. Other floors might be much worse. The location of the hotel is perfect, as it is very central, near to some modern stores with cool architecture and very close to the water. And also close to some shopping streets with very beautiful wooden buildings. A great area all in all. There is a parking in the hotel (130kr a day) but some 100 meters away there is a large public parking for around 100kr per day. The reception was large, fresh and cool. It had a bar and also the hotel restaurant that looked awesome, with some bistro-like decoration and big windows nearly allowing to see the lake. The people working at the reception were super-friendly (like most of the people in that region of Sweden). A great touch in these times was that the reception is open all day long, which gives that extra safety. Our room was, as mentioned, on the second floor towards a small inner patio, not towards the lake. I can only assume the ones towards the lake must have breathtaking views. But the small patio was nice, renovated, with some decoration on the walls and some cool lights and very calm. I guess if you live above the second floor the window would not be directly to the wall... In any case (and I hate hotel windows to interior courts and similar) this was not a problem at all. It felt open and nice. The room had a decent size and had a simple but nice decoration with chipboard furniture with nice design. It did not feel cheap or ugly, just durable. In our case we got a double room with two separate beds. One complain was that between the beds there was a small wooden table that made it very hard to put the two beds together (it was me and my wife)... but the receptionist later told me that the table could be removed for that purpose. I did not manage to. The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean, a good flat tv, lots of storage space... and there is even two free soda bottles for the guests. I just can say I had a great night of sleep. The bathroom was modern and clean... the only minor minus is the shower, which had one of those plastic doors that close together to avoid the water spreading... not a fan of those to be honest. The breakfast was the usual affair but really well assorted except the orange juice which was very poor. Scrambled, eggs, bacon, meatballs, a few sorts of cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt, waffles, cream, sill, salmon... Excellent! Another fantastic touch... they had gluten-free bread and muesli and also lactose-free yoghourts and milk. Really good breakfast in a nice room. Totally recommended. So all in all one of the best experiences I have had in a hotel in Sweden, where the quality is sometimes dismal compared to what I am used to in Spain.

Good and nice room overlooking the lake. The room had a comfortable double bed and a bathtub which is always preferable. Walking distance to shopping streets and good resturants. Plus are, good breakfast and parking in the house.

This hotel has provided a very good base to relax and have a good sleep. The rooms are spotless clean and the rooms has all necessary equipment. The reception are very helpful and the breakfast is outstanding! I highly recommend.

I stayed at this hotel almost every week for at least one night. It was my second home. Lovely hotel with great standard. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good restaurant, centrally located in Jönköping. walking street just 2 minutes walk away. Gym, shopping and cafes all around the corner. I will definitely recommend this hotel for families, business and couples visitors.

The hotels reception, main bar area is really nice. It creates a warm, relaxing atmosphere. My room was pretty basic, but did have coffee making facilities. The restaurant was efficient enough, l tried a beef fajita which was suprisingly better than expected. Everywhere was spotlessly clean! I also used the small fitness room available.

Never expected to find myself in Jonkoping, Sweden but then my son decided to marry a Swedish girl and this lovely town is her home town. So this very nice, modestly priced hotel became our home for several days. It is conveniently located and the staff was great.

As with all best westerns we've stayed in the staff here were efficient, friendly and helpful. We stayed for one night as a stop over between Stockholm and Malmö. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean. We ate in the restaurant and as it was a Wednesday they had a bbq on the terrace which was excellent. The room was air conditioned but it was noisy so we opened the window instead. Bathroom seemed fairly newly fitted. Not the best fitting I've seen but did the job. They have a garage and its huge so our high car with roofbox fitted in. Would recommend and stay again.

Everything was just perfect! The room, the people in the reception ! The breakfast had Everything we wanted. The location and that the room had AC.. Very well placed near Everything..and the beds were comfortable .

2 nights early July. Fairly modern, very clean and quiet, has secure onsite (fee) parking for small cars**, and helpful front desk (excellent English). Strong reliable free wifi. Nice breakfast buffet with more items than most hotels in this category…note this room is sunken by 1 step down. Excellent location - on east side of canal. If walking: 30 seconds to ATM, 1 minute to upscale Lake Munksjon restaurants, 2 to 5 minutes to many good restaurants on the east side of the canal and currency exchange and popular nightly street food on canal, 5 minutes to Lake Vattern shoreline restaurants, 10 minutes to several great restaurants and ICA Grocery on west side of canal, 15 to 20 minutes to Safety Match Museum (worthwhile!). For quiet room, ask for upper floors away from commotion when large tour groups come in. My room had a kettle, frig, and good desk top with outlets. The room was adequately sized and comfortable enough for one person for a couple nights, but the longer I stayed the more cramped I felt. The bathroom was gleaming with new plumbing fixtures, but noticeably cramped even for one person. Think: micro. Upscale but micro. The windows opened directly onto a narrow flat roof that could have allowed unwanted intrusion, so I kept them closed. I would stay here again, but would be curious about other hotels in the area if room and bathroom were more spacious. In all other ways, the John Bauer is very enjoyable and accommodating. **If arriving by car: turn off the through-lane onto the separate two-way (“bus”) lane directly in front of the hotel, and pull up close directly in front of the hotel garage door – garage doors open inward. Check-in, then immediately move your car into the garage. If your car is larger than compact, check the garage spacing first – parking is very tight! But it's the only parking near the hotel that I know of.

We stayed here overnight, as in Best Western everything was ok, more or less standard. Room was comfortable, quite spacious. Employees professional. The restaurant served surprisingly good diners and was complete. PriceWaterhouse level Scandinavian. Breakfast was very well arranged and had a broad choice to offer.

We really enjoyed the stay, very nice room, good breakfast, very well placed to be able to roam around the city center, free covered parking. Internet's signal a bit low to use in some parts of the room.

The beds are very comfortable, and whilst we didn't have a view from the room, it was very light and pleasant. Clean and tidy, and the mini bar was not stocked with all sorts of stuff, just water. There is a good bar in the hotel though. Hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays, but plenty of places to find a good meal in town though. There was a bit of noise in the hallway, but we were staying when there was a sports event on and a lot of early risers that day. Not problematic, and possibly not atypical. I would stay here again. Parking was available for SEK130 a day. Very handy and not expensive.

Parking really only available in their pay carpark. Staff friendly and efficient. Room was really compact and bit on the hot side. It was a bit on the noisy side at night, you could hear other guests. The breakfast was very good.

I had a nice room with view over the lake. This is a nice hotel with modern design, good beds, nothing to complain about. If anything I found the breakfast slightly disapointing - but then I am special... Guys, just modernise your cerial section and you are not just good, but wonderful!

Hotel is situated in the center and has a private parking for their guests. Nice bar on the level above the reception which makes the place unique. The rooms are big and silent, it had all accommodation you need Very good breakfast in the morning

Nice and big room which included a large sofa and a TV, good bed, wifi, really good hotell breakfast. Really nothing to complain at. Did not try the TV, mini-bar or room service but I am sure that works as well.

Represents perfectly the simply style of the scandinavian hotels. Simple services, not too much to see. The hotel is good basicly for business travellers to overnight. Anyway, one of the best in the town.

I stayed in this hotel whilst attending a conference at the University; it was recommended by the conference organisers and I was certainly not disappointed. It faces the lake and is just round the corner from the modern shopping centre as well as being only a ten minute walk from the University. The hotel is very modern and functional but with a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. In my experience, single rooms are often little more than cupboards but mine was quite spacious with a very comfortable bed and attractive modern furnishings. There was a fridge/mini bar, plenty of electric sockets and a decent full length mirror. The bathroom was small but absolutely gleamed with a really good shower and basic toiletries as well as good thick towels. Breakfast was an absolutely magnificent buffet and I also ate in the restaurant a couple of evenings. The food was very good indeed with very polite and efficient service albeit a little expensive. There were no drinks making facilities in the bedrooms but free coffee/tea/ chocolate was available all day in a little bar. There was a small gym which I didn't have time to use. Above all, all the staff were friendly and very helpful - all spoke excellent English. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here one night on our way down to the south, this is very well situated if you want quick access to a number of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The Staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in, and the room was normal good Scandinavian standard. Clean and comfortable. No Safe in the room is the only downside I would mention. Breakfast was nice, a very cramped serving area when you have a full tourist bus dinning with you, but once they left there was plenty of space and the food selection was good.

Good location, spacious room, very good wifi connection. The hotel is located in what seems to be an entirely new and trendy part of town. What was special is that our dog had its own spacious “bed” with a bag saying “V.I.D - Very Important Dog” containg dog delicacies, a small towel and plastic bag - star treatment!

Stayed there with my wife and 2 year old daughter in a room with a double bed and a single bed. We also got a baby cot in our room, which left little space when in use. The room was fine and bathroom also, but not very modern, but did it's purpose. The room had minibar/refridgerator which was good. (missing at another hotel during same trip) Breakfast was OK, not the biggest selection though. Crowded at times where the food was placed. Check-in and check-out was smooth.
