The 6 a.m. breakfast was not out at 6 a.m. Nothing was out, but after inspecting the containers used for keeping the food warm, we decided we would eat somewhere else. The water in them was filthy. The pots and lids themselves were filthy. The carpet in our room was soaking wet between the bed and window (likely from a recent storm), and the room had the intense odor of heavy mildew. My wife inadvetantly walked on this wet carpet and her feet began burning, likely from whatever chemical was used in an attempt to kill the mildew. This room needed a wet-vac and fans--not occupants. I believe I may take my customer loyalty to another chain in hopes of bettere accommodations.
Upon arrival we were dubious about the location but they do have gated parking so decided to proceed. This hotel has been updated for the most part but I was very horrified upon checking in and getting ready to wash up when air and very dirty muddy water came gushing out of the sink. I let it run a bit and it did clear up but it was really shocking. The same thing happened with the bath when I went to take a shower, lots of air, mud and muddy water came out. The phone in the room did not work so I couldn't call the front desk. Because I was so tired and the water appeared to clear up I just went to bed. The beds are comfortable and pillows were good. The next morning when I went to check out I asked about the water issue and was told that unfortunately the City of Jackson doesn't inform the hotel when they are doing construction and they had been working right around the corner. REALLY? How does mud and and air get into the hotel system just because construction was going on? the hotel does offer a full breakfast but we were afraid to eat it not knowing about the water.
Went to visit our granddaughter in the children's hospital. The place is a good value for one night to stay for the value.
The location is safe easy. To find and close to everything . The staff was very helpful, friendly people
There were so many issues with our stay. We will not be returning ever. The food for breakfast was not ready on time and when it was , it looked disgusting. The elevator kept getting stuck.
Our room had a sofa and coffee table, actually more a suite than just a room. The entire place was spotlessly clean, the bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable, and it even has a guest laundry room. We liked the secure, fenced parking, too.
I was worried about staying near downtown Jackson but the gated facility made me feel safe. The room was very spacious and clean!
Quiet, clean, gated parking, excellent breakfast buffet. After years of staying at different hotels, the Best Western in Jackson, MS has set a new standard. I'll be staying at Best Westerns in other cities, now .
For the price it was okay, safe and clean, but definitely needs some work. Elevator wasa not working when we checked in. Breakfast area was a mess, food had not been replenished and host was not very friendly or helpful.
Great place to stay. Updated hotel, gated parking, and very nice staff. We arrived late, but booked ahead so everything Was ready for us. Thanked for being a rewards member. Breakfast had enough food items to meet our taste needs. We enjoy our stays at Best Western Hotels, and will continue to use them in the future.
Staff extremely nice and helpful. You are treated like you are apart of the family. Just like home. Even for your Pets. Good location and secure parking. The place is clean and welcoming. Beds are comfortable too.
I spent four nights. The facilities are very nice, if a bit dated. The staff was superb. The breakfast was excellent and included real eggs. The building and parking lot are gated, so it's a very safe hotel. Would definitely stay again. No complaints.
The hotel is in a sketchy area of Jackson. The parking lot is surrounded by a locked high fence. Overall hotel did not smell fresh but my room smelled very strongly of mold and mildew and I was sick for 3 days after leaving there. Worst hotel experience I have had
The rooms were great, a little smell but nothing major. The front desk receptionist was amazing. Brittany not only checked me in quickly but she also made sure to accommodate me in any way she could and the way she speaks is so outgoing. I have been alot of places and she has by far been the nicest and most efficient person I have ever dealt with in any hotel. Beds were just as comfortable as she mentioned and I can't wait to get to eat the breakfast she mentioned as well. Overall great experience
I had a wonderful experience. The 2 guys at check in were nice and the 2 laundry ladies were lovely. The pool area was nicely kept and very clean. The hotel is gated therefore you will feel safe. Noise level was perfect.
Looks and feels dated, not dirty just has old look and feel. Not what we expect for BW+. Location is sketchy but parking lot is gated access. Internet is slow and TV was not a sharp image. Breakfast was typical of hotel breakfast.
Room was disgusting and smelled awful. The carpet in the building was disgusting. The couch had a large stain on it. It smelled like weed. I will never stay there again. The worst hotel I've ever stayed at
My husband and I needed an overnight hotel in the proximity of the Civil Rights and Mississippi Museum recently. After reading Trip Advisor Reviews, I selected this Best Western, which was less than a mile from the museums. The primary reasons for selecting this hotel was the positive reviews regarding cleanliness, friendly staff and the secure parking lot right on the premises. We loved the large, comfy room. The newer hotel rooms are half the size of this one. After spending the afternoon at the museums, took the short drive over to the hotel. The room card key worked perfectly, allowing us access to the fenced, secure parking lot. The staff was friendly and accomodating. There is a Waffle House right out the door, so that's where we had dinner. We slept in the next morning and barely made it to the breakfast in time. The breakfast attendant surveyed what was left and went into the kitchen, made more eggs, and a couple more items. We were impressed with her willingness to do that. Without a doubt, we will stay at this Best Western next time we need a room in Jackson, MS.
Stayed one night. Room was very comfortable and clean. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Waffle House and Whataburger practically in parking lot. We grabbed a burger and brought it back to the room. Quiet. Gated parking lot. Just a few blocks from the Capitol and Fair Grounds. Would stay again.
We stayed one night while traveling to Florida and we had a fantastic handicap accessible room with a king size bed. The room was spacious with a table and two chairs, two overstuffed chairs in the corner beside a jacuzzi, which didn't work. There was a small alcove for the ice bucket and glasses as well as a computer desk and chair. The bathroom was spacious with a roll in shower. Schwanee checked us in and was a delightful person. She even brought a luggage cart to the end of the hallway do we could unload our car close to the outside entrance. They also had a gated parking lot. The breakfast area was nice with a variety of hot foods including scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes with onions and peppers and French toast. There was a variety of pastries and breads as well as waffles and cereal. My only problem was I didn't see any butter or cream cheese which would have been nice for my bagel. We highly recommend this hotel and will come back.
Arrived late, was greeted by a friendly front desk, room was comfortable and clean. The location is ideal - close to all the downtown attractions. The hotel is older, and the hallway/elevator could use a good cleaning, but our room was quiet (didn't hear any traffic noise). The breakfast was really good - no egg beaters - real scrambled eggs and bacon/French toast. The kitchen staff was friendly and the area was clean. The parking is gated and well lit. Although it was too cold to use the pool, the pool itself looked very inviting. I would stay here again.
Great location for our needs. Room was clean and the staff was accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Very much appreciate the secure parking area. Look forward to future visits. Always have great experiences with Best Western.
The people were wonderful at this facility. The facility itself has much desired. We were greeted and checked in by Ken. Such a nice young man. And all the staff was polite, kind, and truly seemed to care about folks who stayed there.
Had a great stay at thIs hotel during the JSU Grambling football game. Staff was very friendly and the hotel is Very close to the stadium and clean rooms. Restaurants nearby when we needed to eat something quick. We will be back next month.
We started a loyalty program with Best Western in April 2022. We had good experiences in Chicago and Galveston. Our stay at the BWP in Jackson MS was awful. The first room we were assigned to 211 had black mold on the bathroom wall and in the shower. We were reluctantly moved to another room, 142, which was a handicap room which we didn't need. Less mold in the shower. No microwave, no trash can in the bathroom. Huge garden tub in the “living” part of the room… WHAT? with no handles to turn on the water to use the tub, and no way for a handicapped person to get in easily. Of note: Hotel is in the worst part of town and it is gated after a certain hour. It sorely needs maintenance and upgrading for a Best Western Plus. Very disappointed in the chain.
We only stayed for one night on our way from New Orleans to Memphis. Room was ok but tired and not really well cared for. - black mould dominated the bath rims. The staff were friendly and helpful but did advise us not to use the outdoor pool as it was filthy. Breakfast was poor - when I asked for bread I was told that they had run out!! The waffle mix had also finished! Will a little more investment and talc this hotel has the potential to be far better.
Poorly maintained property....dirty and dingy. Stockade encompasses the property. 2 rooms in our hall alone with barking and yappy dogs. Another large dog locked in a car in the packing lot with the windows closed 80% of the way. Temp was around 90. The pool was inoperable and dirty. The place needed a paint job badly. They changed the price 5x...after complaint, the GM offered us a price higher than quoted to stay. We are former hotel owners with over 35 years of experience. How this property could win Travelers Choice Awards is beyond comprehension! They even tried to change 5x. We left!
The hotel was gated and staff was helpful. The location is good as food and services are near. The gated parking is a huge plus and it would be nice if the pool was open. I had a rare occurrence the city power went out and i expected the back up generator or emergency lighting to work but nothing came on.
The oddest part of staying here was the security system. The hotel was gated. Once inside I found it to be well maintained with a wonderful staff. The hotel was alive with a church youth group. My room was large and quite nice. I'd have no problem coming back.
stayed for 2 nights because of the Dixie National horse show, Room was clean, comfortable, felt safe, head desk clerk was SUPER nice, great personality, only thing I noticed, No bibles anymore, kind of a disappointment
That was the only bad experience I had was the manger I think her name is Kia. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying there b'coz of her. Had no problem with the staff at all. Reported her and everything. The only thing cooperate had to say was. Oh well, we'll have a meeting &have some training to work on their demeanor. That ain't gone do jack. Fire her coz she don't come cross customer's like she in the streets. That's not business Savoy. If, u don't have business skills &a people good personality you in the wrong field
I come here very often at least once a week I always prefer to stay at this particular establishment The staff is always friendly always willing to help always nice and very professional always have a easy check in and check out.
I called the GM and received no help, no assistance, no customer service. She hung up on me. I had Priceline on the phone and she refused to talk with Priceline. I offered to pay the difference or penalty that the hotel might have to pay. T E R R I B L E... I'll never stay there again... terrible, rude, terrible...
The room had a very foul odor. The floor around the toilet was not cleaned. One of beds had dirty linen. We were next door to a loud neighbor that coughed and repeatedly banged the wall all night. The air didn't get cold and it made a very loud knocking noise.
My great aunt turned 83 and I haven't seen her in quite a while. After driving 16 hours straight, my family and I arrived in Jackson MS exhausted and hungry. The manager Akiya was warm and welcoming. She recommended places where we could get a quick and delicious bite to eat and ensured we got what we requested when originally booked our stay, adjoining rooms. When we saw her again during breakfast the next day, she greeted us with a smile and recommended cool places to check out in Jackson. The rooms were spacious, beds were comfy, breakfast was good parking was no hassle, and the AC worked well. This will be our family's hotel of choice when we come back and we plan to visit often.
When we checked in at 10:00pm got to our room it had not been cleaned. Beds were unmade and trash everywhere. Got a different room and it was clean- beds comfortable. Hot breakfast was not good. We did like that it had a locked gated area that you parked in. Front desk staff on the phone and in person were all very nice and helpful. Would recommend
It definitely has pros and cons Pros: Laundry Nice gym Clean beds Complementary breakfast Microwave and fridge worked Cons: Front desk service is lacking Pool is disgusting Ice machine broken It was a decent hotel, good for a night but probably not an extended stay.
The hotel room smelled and the beds looked liked someone had slept in them. The remote control was not sanitized and it normally is. The bathroom had mold in the shower and on the floor. The light fixture in the bathroom had bulbs out. There was brown liquid and white foam floating in the swimming pool. The sidewalk in the back of the building had white globs of papers all over the place.
First off, the location isn't very welcoming. There was a guy constantly walking around outside the gates on the streets as if he were begging for money. The hotel is gated & you can only access parking with your room card key. Front desk was pretty nice & quick check in. After checking in, we learned one of the gate's keypad wasn't working and the other keypad took awhile to even accept the key card. Parking wasn't bad. Our room was on the first floor which was a plus. Upon entering the room, it smelled of stale stinky feet. The decor a bit off & the sofa cushions looked stained & very used. The bathroom was not in the best shape, the tile was hanging off the tub's wall & it was mold black spots all around the tub. The only good thing about this experience was the king bed which was very comfortable and allowed me to get adequate rest. The breakfast is a grab and go due to Covid restrictions yet when checking out housekeeping were roaming the halls without masks on. I miss the hot breakfast buffet. Right across the street was Waffle House and Whataburger also a gas station as well. These places aren't very inviting. Down the street not far was Wendy's and few other fast food restaurants. This wasn't the best experience but we love staying at Best Western and will continue to use them in the future just not this location.
Best check in experience and stay I've had in the last year. I've stayed at 5 hotels in the last year and a half and this was by far the most pleasant experience I have had. Checking in the desk associate was extremely nice and friendly. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
The room was nice. The bed was very comfortable. I really have no complaints. I just found it odd that there was nowhere to hang clothes. There was even a cute corner nook for the coffee maker, etcetera.
My wife and I enjoyed early check in for our 2 night stay using a hotel reservation. A masked receptionist behind glass quickly checked my driver's licence, took credit card payment then issued our key cards. After entering the secure parking, we came in the back and took the elevator up to the 3rd floor. Room #320 began with a coffee station outside the bathroom with tub shower, then easy chair, couch and desk, then TV (Direct TV-100 channels) with micro and refer across a very high pillow top king bed. We had intermittent WiFi, unobtrusive window AC/heat and an outdoor pool and small gym that were closed. Covid signs were posted and staff and guests were complaint The 6 AM breakfast was reduced to coffee, breakfast bar and cup of applesauce. Across and down the street are Waffle House, What A Burger, Arby's and Wendy's. We had a good stay at this clean 62 room hotel paying $88 per night.
Very nice facility. Clean and comfortable. The King room was spacious and included a microwave and refrigerator. Best bathroom of any place we have stayed yet! Very secure with fenced and gated free parking. Colosseum location is convenient. Recommend dining at nearby Lou's full-surv, 904B E Fortification St.
Conveniently located to UMMC, room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable. So glad I was able to have my dog with me although there isn't much space to walk her on the property. The location just doesn't allow. The property is also gated which is nice and gives some security about your vehicle overnight. The pool was not open in late May but looked nice and clean. Several fast food places close although not the time to go out for a meal! Would stay here again for sure.
We always stay at this Hotel when we come to Jackson. This hotel is Clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a Good Breakfast. There are 2 features that I do believe are important, (1) - it has a fence around the parking lot and (2) Whataburger is right in front of the Hotel.
I have stayed here several times over the years for the local antique bottle show and am nothing but pleased with the location since it is so close to the show. The grounds are secure for parking and very well lit for security. The rooms are comfortable and clean and spacious, although the doors can be noisy in the hall. The front desk was professional and courteous and knowledgeable. Breakfast started at 6am which is a BIG BIG plus for us and we do appreciate it, plus breakfast has a great number of choices. I will stay here again anytime I am in the area.
Chose this location because of proximity to the event I was attending. The room itself was very nice and clean. Decor was up-to-date. TV remote was difficult to operate. No channel guide for TV that had in excess of a hundred channels. Breakfast was excellent. Security gate required a room key to enter so I felt my vehicle was fairly secure.
My stay at this hotel is always enjoyable I'm at least 3 times a year. I always stay here when bring my daughter back to school. I love the location to the restaurants and the stores/mall in Pearl. The staff and services are always great. I will definitely be back , and would recommend this hotel.
I work for a company that has hundreds of people in numerous hotels over the country. Not very often do you find a hotel that has staff this friendly and helpful. Akiya (Front Desk Manager) has been the most persistent and helpful person to us since day 1. As far as the actual hotels, the guys that are staying there have nothing but nice things to say! Highly recommend working with Akiya for company purposes and staying at the hotel in general for any occasion. If I ever need to visit Jackson, you will find me here!
The staff was great, the breakfast was awesome, and the room was big, spacious, and immaculately cleaned. It was my first time staying at Best Western Plus but I'll definitely be back. Keep up the great job
My cons on this property are minimal. You have to have security cards to park your vehicle and enter the building from the parking area. The cards work less than half the time. As a group, we waited with other guests scanning our passes to find 1 card that would open the outside door. The facility decor is not very attractive, either. The pluses much outweigh the negatives, though. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was better than most. The front desk staff was lovely and very helpful. The location was great! Just a hop and skip from the convention center.. yes, we would stay here again.
This hotel was really nice, but the location was a bit off. Kind of out of the way and not to inviting. But the hotel its self was good, food was good, very clean and everyone was very nice. It was good that they have your car locked up for the night so we didn't have to worry about it.
The hotel is in a great location. I stay at this location when I'm visiting my daughter that's in college or going to football games. It's located close to food places and it's very close to the Sam's and mall outlet. The staff is always friendly and breakfast is good.
Wonderful place! Clean! The young lady at the front desk, her name is Key, was very helpful and pleasant. Really enjoyed the pool on a very hot afternoon! Came out of the room early to the smell of breakfast! Would Defintely stay there again!
We stayed a week. The rates were great. Breakfast was good. Very convenient to the fairgrounds . The air conditioner rattled but cooled the room. We had heard stories about Jackson, but our stay was good. The Best Western is the place to stay if you're attending a Lan Bar barrel race.
Stayed here a week last week. Hotel was clean, in a good area and the staff was incredible. The breakfast was really good. The cook does an excellent job. I am staying here again next week and looking forward to it. Aaron, the GM was excellent to deal with. He has done a super job on this hotel and his staff is wonderful.
Great for 1 night stay - quiet and the bed was comfortable, clean and neat. The Shower worked well nd the room was neat and clean. All amenities were working great! The staff was very friendly and answer all my questions concerning my stay and recommendation on nearby resturant.
We had a great stay and took care of business, ate a wholesome breakfast, and sleep well! The staff was friendly and helpful! The surrounding could have been a little more attractive but the hotel was beautiful!
I dont know what gives a best western its plus rating, but this one doesn't deserve it. There is no out tub, just a small pool, the couch in our room is a fold away bed that is broken so no way are we sitting on it. The toilet is loose eo when you flush it feels like you could knock it over. The parking lot is gated so the car appears really safe but I'm not sure why...is the neighborhood that bad? The ratings were good so I'm not sure what I'm missing. Wish I'd picked something else.
The rooms are large, comfortable and modern. Front desk is very friendly and welcoming. Outdoor pool is reasonably sized and clean. Fenced in parking is a plus. Breakfast is included and good. Great place to stay!
This hotel has easy access off of the main road. Rooms were very clean and quite. Cookies and coffee in the lobby. Very friendly service. Fried microwave and coffee in the rooms. Great full breakfast every morning.
My stay at the Best Western Plus in downtown Jackson, MS is always on a business visit and the service I receive is always great. So yes I would recommend you and your family and friends to visit the Best Western Plus in downtown Jackson, MS.
The room itself was very dated, there was a filthy washcloth under the sink, the air conditioner was very noisy, and the toilet was so loud when it was flushed. However, the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Our daughter ended up with a sick stomach the night we stayed. My husband went to the front desk to ask for extra trash bags in case we needed them. He was given four or five. The next morning, my husband and kids went down for breakfast and discovered that it was about to end. (I had called the desk to see when breakfast ended and was told 10am. That was incorrect. It was 9am.) The lady who was working the breakfast area was so kind to my family and even offered to make fresh eggs. My husband declined but was very touched that she has offered. So, this hotel isn't the nicest we've ever stayed at, but the friendly employees made our stay worth it.
I stay at this location each month when I come to Jackson to see my doctors. The staff is always so friendly; my room is always extremely clean and smells so fresh. He's so refreshing to stay a hotel that feels like home. Breakfast is always good. I particularly enjoy the fresh eggs.
The room was large and very clean. Secured parking was nice considering the more urban location. Breakfast and fitness center were about the standard. Wi-Fi was a little weak in the room but fine in public areas. We would certainly stay there again.
Very convenient to area attractions and secure. Hotel was gated which was nice. Very dated, but clean. Best price we could find and they accept AARP. Breakfast was hot and included in the price. Staff was nice.
Our stop was a pleasant surprise and the spacious room and comfy bed was most appreciated. What was also a surprise was the secure gated parking within eye shot of the State Capital. It created a tinge of a security concern but the location is in what appears to be a light industrial area. Nevertheless, the location near I-55 and historic Farish Street is a plus. The facility was overall clean and well maintained but a little dated. All in all it could be a regular stop en route to New Orleans. I always wish that the desk personnel would interact more with guests during check in and suggest local eating establishments that are preferably not chains or fast food.
I noted right off that this must be the cleanest room in which I have ever stayed! We rested very well, even though the beds were a little harder than we prefer. It was still easy to relax after a stressful family estate closure. Our needs were perfectly met. We were completely left to ourselves with no disturbances which was exactly what we required for our short stay.
the location is Ideal for anyone doing things in the downtown area. it is well secured and the rooms are wonderful. The breakfast was great fresh and hot. The staff was helpful and friendly also knowledgeable of the area attractions.
I was traveling with daughter. She's attending college in Mississippi, and I needed a Bestwestern close to her school. I was there for four days and the location was really great. The hotel stay was very good. The hotel stay, staff , room , and cleaning was great. The breakfast was great everyday , but overall it was good I would recommend this hotel I've stayed at this Bestwestern every time I come to Jackson.
We stayed one night after visiting the Mississippi Museums. Very nice interior, clever designs, nice staff, nice rooms, comfortable beds. They also had a very good breakfast in the morning. Would go back.
I had a pleasant stay at this place. The parking lot is gated which keepa your car safe. the rooms are nice and clean. breakfast isn't bad at all. Front desk clerks are helpful and friendly. 2 thumbs up from me
Only here for one night. Was very quiet and beds were really comfortable. Continental breakfast was very adequate. It had everything you would want. It was kept clean and fully stocked. There was no water out and my husband needed some to take medicine. The young lady working very kindly offered to get him a bottle of water from the front desk. I would stay here again when in the area.
Ok, so when you stay in a hotel you can expect a little noise from other guests. Well in this hotel it sounds as if the people in the room above are bringing in an elephant when they just walk across the floor. And when they have a shower or flush the loo, it sounds like they are in your room with you The positives are that it's a clean hotel with comfortable beds.
We had a good experience nothing fancy but clean comfortable with a very helpful staff. Would stay again next time we go through this city. The breakfast left a little bit to be desired but again it was included and it was OK
Positives: Staff extremely helpful and very nice. Location was near hospital - easy to get to. Room was clean - especially the bathroom!! Gated parking. Negatives: Room 108 was very loud beginning at 5 a.m. Finally realized we were next to the breakfast prep area. Lots of banging. Maybe they should use this room as the last available for someone checking in late/without reservation... We were also on the front side of the building, first floor. Very bright lights at night, and had to keep the drapes pulled tight. Gated parking - a little awkward to access the box to swipe card.
I was very disappointed with a number of aspects with this hotel. We were booked in for 2 nights on our way to New Orleans. My husband and 2 sons and booked 2 rooms. Firstly the receptionist couldn't find our booking eventually she did and we were given 2 rooms on 3 rd floor. I was very upset when we went to our room as it smelt musty and I had seen the comments of a fellow traveller on trip advisor a month ago and couldn't believe the rooms were still being used. To top it all I had emailed previously asking for a nice room as it was our wedding anniversary. I went to reception and they gave me another room which was okay nothing special. Nice bathroom looked quite modern but the decor colours and carpets in the rooms are quite depressing. I use the stairs and found the staircase needed vacuuming the whole time we were there. Nice to have a complimentary breakfast which was adequate. Disappointed that although the weather was hot the pool was shut down and there is no where to sit outside. Very disappointing that after a day of sightseeing not even a chair or bench outside to sit and enjoy the sun. All this would have been improved if we had received friendliness from the staff not one person said good morning neither the breakfast team or the young girl who worked on reception who had her breakfast at the same time we did both mornings and didn't speak. I found that very unwelcoming. When we were checking out the manager was there he was very friendly it's the first time I had seen him and he asked about our stay, I started to explain about the smell and he explained they had an issue with the air conditioning units and had tried their best to resolve the problem. I don't believe the hotel was full so why these rooms are used beats me. I can't understand when visitors report the same complaints on trip advisor then a month later they are still subjecting visitors to the same issues it's just not on. He was very nice and had his team all been as welcoming our stay would had been so much nicer. We had just traveled down from the comfort inn in Memphis and received excellent welcome, rooms and breakfast which was far superior to this hotel. I certainly wouldn't visit another best western in the future.
My husband and I were in Jackson, MS as part of the Great Delta Bear Affair. We spend one night in Jackson before going on to Rolling Fork. This hotel is located very close to the hospital where he gives teddy bears to the children and the museum of natural science where he spoke. Although it is in an urban area they provide exceptional security. The parking lot is gated, and the building is secure. The beds are very comfortable, the sheets smelled fresh, and there were not stains on the floor, carpet, or furniture. The staff was excellent, exceeding our expectations. Breakfast was provided with a smile and. Additional help sinceI am somewhat mobile impaired. It is an older building, but it is easy to see the improvements in progress. We plan to make it our annual stop.
We were not happy with this hotel. The room was very musty. My Pj's smelled throughout my 7 day vacation after staying here only 1 night. They were also damp feeling. The staff was nice and the breakfast was good.
The Best Western Jackson is close to the fairgrounds. It also has a gated parking lot for extra security and to ensure that fair goers don't take up the parking spaces. There is a full breakfast each morning. I also used the laundry facilities and it was convenient.
Nice friendly staff. checking in and out of the hotel was done at a fast pace. I loved it! Rooms are great, spacious, comfortable, clean and cozy. Very nice and clean property. I'm looking forward to staying next weekend for an event. Stores and restaurant are in walking distance.
Like most best Western hotels, this is a clean property with decent staff. Unfortunately, I also like most best Western hotels, the king size mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Other than that, the room was decent and the setting was average.
We didn't take advantage of the downtown area but we did eat at a restaurant, Whataburger, next door to the hotel and the food was very good. The rooms were very nice and I would definitely recommend staying there.
The hotel was clean and accommodating, however, there was a musty smell in the room. The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was great. The lady who attended the breakfast bar did a great job. It stayed stocked and very clean.
Not the best, not the worst. The fan in the bathroom was ridiculously loud and is attached to the light. I had a headache by the time I left. Sheets were worn, not everything was super clean. AC worked fine. The hallway to our room was ridiculously hot. Not in a super safe area.
A possible leak had happened, & they were in the process of fixing it. Besides that, it was very clean, great size room, wonderfully kind employees, & the breakfast was so delicious. The pool was beautifully clean, & the staff at check-in had cool food & location places to check out. I also really like the shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower. It was so cool.
My first impression when I drove up in front of the hotel was that all parking was behind secured gates. I like that this level of security was provided. Check in was quick and accurate. The room was clean, the A/C worked well and was quiet. There was plenty of water pressure and a showerhead that worked perfectly. The soap, shampoo, etc. were of a good quality and had a pleasant fragrance. The breakfast buffet was good, well stocked, and kept clean by a couple of very friendly ladies.
Really enjoyed the stay the breakfast was always full very filling and had one of the nicest people working Mrs Gwen will be back definitely checking in was simple rooms were clean and neat room service was great also
Very clean and accommodating hotel... The staffs are sweet .... management (Aaron I think is his name)is great!!! Ms Angela, Sierra, and Gwen are the bomb.com anything you need just ask them and they will do their best to accommodate you!!!! On the week days they pop popcorn for the guest,The breakfast is amazing. It's clean and the parking is gated and only accessed with a key... Very private!!!!
It amazes me that so many of the facilities designated as handicapped accessible are poorly designed. They obviously were not designed by a handicapped person or their care giver. This is a beautiful facility with many nice features, but it is somewhat lacking in this area of accommodation. The mirror in the bathroom is too high to be used by a wheel chair bound person. Also, the bed is too high for a handicapped person. These are not things which can be changed by the employees, but must be addressed at the corporate level. For the price paid ($150 rate, discounted to $139.50 + Tax), I expected the accessibility to be much better.
Last minute booking on our way home, definitely delighted at how helpful the staff was. The front desk lady ( I wish I could remember her name) helped recommend dinner at a local place. Boy was she spot on! Great food and a wonderful atmosphere! The room was nice, clean, spacious. The pillows were fantastic! Wish I knew where they got them from! Love it, thank you to the staff for an excellent experience. P.s. They have strawberry waffle mix as well as regular. Something I've not seen before!
I was n town on business n book two nite here n loved my stay staff was friendly n very help room are clean n the breakfast hostess Gwen is very attentive.i would stay here again n bring my family when the fair comes to Town.
Staff was very helpful in helping us with printed directions to my cousin's wedding venue in downtown Jackson. Their customer service skills were great. Both were friendly with beautiful personalities.
Only stayed one night, but the room was really clean, the continental breakfast was amazing, and Angela at the front desk, as well as the other staff, was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
It was a great location for me & the other parents that stayed during our travel time for HS State Tournament. The staff was wonderful, Aaron & Angela great people. We have used your property the last 2 years and I look forward to coming back next year. Love the property, beds really comfortable. Thanks for everything guys, God Bless!!!!!!!!!!
Clean rooms with dreadful decor and mismatching everything is what you'll get here. Their prices are keen but you will get what you pay for... a bit of a tired all rounder. Fine for a one nighter, but that's it.
Spent the weekend in Jackson with family attending the horse show. The staff at this hotel was incredible. The breakfast offered was jam packed. I am not sure if I have ever seen a free breakfast that big. When checking in the staff greeted us with smiles and were helpful throughout our visit. I would recommend this hotel to everyone staying in Jackson. It is also only about 5 minutes to anything you want to do.
We stayed here on our way home from Florida to Texas March 2018. If not for the kindness of the manager, who called me after I reviewed very negatively on the requested survey, this rating would be worse! The outside of the hotel is very nice and the word PLUS in the name made us think it was pretty nice. Price was $108.00 so that wasn't so bad......until we went upstairs to the second floor where our room was. It was evident they were doing a bit of a renovation, which was ok, but to put us in a room right in the middle of the renovation area was a bit ridiculous. We traipsed through the paper on the floor and the buckets and construction materials and opened the door to our room. At first sight, not so bad but you could tell it was a very old hotel and they had just tried to cover up the "old" instead of tearing out and doing a quality renovation. Small room, loud under the window heat/air unit, made me feel like we were in a dive on Amarillo Blvd rented by the hour. But......after my review, the manager called me up and was very kind and very apologetic. He couldn't understand why they would set us up in a room in the middle of renovation when there were lots of other rooms available I will say, his response was a cherry on top.......but what it was on top of was super disappointing! Breakfast was pretty good except for the spoiled milk. My thanks and appreciation to the manager for his follow up. He's certainly got his job cut out for him, but I think he has what it takes to turn things around!!
We stayed in this hotel Jan 20th and here is a summary of whats wrong with this hotel. Booked on the second floor and the elevators not working, nor was the water on as the city was having issues. When it came on mud came out of the faucets. We couldn't shower nor drink the water. At least half of the rooms were under construction and the halls were dirty. The tv remote didn't work even after replacing it 3 times. Asked to be moved to a room where the Tv might work. Reassigned and when entering the new room it was already occupied. Not easy for people over 70 to go up and down the stairs. Ok, now we needed drinking water and went to the vending machine on first floor, it wouldn't take dollars, so i had to get $6 in quarters for 3 bottles. You would think the management would be concerned enough to offer free drinkable water as the hotel wasn't worth even close to the price of stay. There are 2 gate cards to the parking lot, only one was working. At least the a/c worked even though it rattled all night. At least the desk clerk was apologetic and did her best, management was no where to be found. C'Mon Dave Patel, this is America, and we expect more from private owners of the Best Western brand!
My wife and I needed to return home, Texas, from a visit to our daughter's family in Tennessee. We found out 7 to 8 hours is about all I can deal with as I recently broke my ankle and leg. My wife and I contacted several hotel and motels in the Jackson, Mississippi area, our halfway point. Yasmine, at the Best Western Plus in Jackson, spoke to me, took my name and went and checked the available rooms so I would be able to get around without another accident as we had on the way to Tennessee. She called back within 15 minutes and we settled on a room. When we arrived the receptionist, Angela I believe assisted my wife and got us settled in. We had a great rest thanks to these wonderful people. PS unable to rate as the program would not respond.
I enjoyed my stay here and give the important things high marks. The bed was awesome, the entire room was very nice and better than I expected. The TV/cable was very good. The Bathroom was perfect all around. I used the laundry facility and that was good too. Breakfast was average to the brand and good. I had a very positive experience with 2 of the 3 desk people I came in contact with but the 3rd was too fixed on her phone to check me out. Here is the weird part, the hotel parking lot is surrounded by a low fence and gated. This is on a downtown area and surrounded by other businesses that are not gated. I hardly noticed it when I checked in but it wore at me after looking at it for a while. They either have a problem with thieves and hoods or are overly worried about it, either way the fence is just weird.
As a retired General Manager and Vice President of operations for a Best Western franchise I expect the best. I received that here. If you are in the Jackson, MS area this should be your stop. The service was great from check in to check out. Breakfast was good and complete. Rates are great for the area and it is a safe environment .
When We arrived the front desk clerk was very nice. We checked in and put luggage in room and left. When we entered the room it was muggy feeling and the air smelt. The fan was blowing but no a/c and we turned on a/c before leaving. Upon our arrival back to the hotel to get ready for bed I saw mold around the shampoo canisters and on tile surrounding the tub. Cleaned as I could with hot water and a wash cloth. Turning back the linens I see strands of hair, lipstick and other makeup on comforter, sheets and pillow case. I call the front desk to express my concerns and request new linens. This is the same clerk that checked us in. She immediately expressed concern and apologized and promptly brought us new linens. Upon check out, this was a new clerk, the front desk clerk seemed unconcerned with me as she sat on her phone in the breakfast area. As I stood there waiting another employee had to get her attention and she took her time to get up and come check us out. She even seemed bothered by the fact I asked for a printed reciept. Overall worse experience ever at a Best Western and the Jackson area. I will not be returning to this hotel upon future stays.
Rather disappointing for a best western hotel. Staff rather rude. Swimming pool shut. Bed sheets soiled. And no amenities provided in the room. Also there was a strong stench of smoke. Not good at all.
Would not recommend this hotel as the staff did not care about fixing anything in a timely manner or at all. I experienced the phone, television, remote, toilet all not working. In addition, the hotel ran out of clean towels. The facility seems to be modern and recently built, but will probably fall into disrepair in the next two years.
The staff at this hotel has zero knowledge of how a hotel should be run. We were charged extra fees, the staff has no clue what they are doing or talking about all the way down to the cleaning crew. The manager is never available when you request him. Jackson is a small town so when your home team plays a team that will bring people to your town you don't try and get over on them. I will never stay at your establishment again and I wont be recommending it to anyone.
The front gate never closed on this trip. One of the reasons I stay here in Jackson is the fact it is gated. There were people who were parked in the gates that were not staying there. This hotel is usually on top of everything, but I was disappointed this trip.
Clean hotel, large suite room, gated parking, good breakfast, friendly staff. Only problem (if you even consider it a problem) was that the ice machine was froze up on our floor but there were 2 more ice machines just an elevator ride away.
The accommodation, hotel staff were excellent, and the pool was somewhere to relax after a long drive. The breakfast was disappointing after the quality of other Best Western hotels we stayed at during this trip.
This is my favorite hotel. I like the location, as there several restaurants in walking distance. The hotel is fence, which makes me feel safe. I know my car is safe. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The best part is the most comfortable bed. Wish had a bed like it at home. We used to use other hotels in Jackson, till we stay here. Now this is the only hotel I will stay.
Bed sheets had what looked like blood on it. Bed valences soiled. Although the room was non smoking there was an obvious smell of smoke. Pool not open. Refrigerator not working. check in staff seemed uninterested.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Room was clean and well kept by the house keeping crew. Amenities were good. Location was great as it was walking distance to the trade mart. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful made the stay with our toddler very comfortable. Breakfast was good, variety of options. The security gate kept our vehicle safe and created a safe environment for us to enter and exit throughout the day. Will use this hotel in the future.
Excellent hotel. Great breakfast. Staff very polite and helpful. Room nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. The cost was very reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay again when in Jackson.
Capreisha was very helpful. She made the stay worth it! I enjoyed this hotel. The breakfast was much more than I expected. The pool was icing on the cake! It was inviting and the decor in the entryway was thoughfully positioned.
We arrived at 3 AM tired from driving all day. They took really great care of us. Capriesha Benson at the front desk was amazing. The breakfast was great, the rooms were clean, they made us feel like family.
Here visisting with a family member through UMMC and the Front Desk Clerk Capriesha Benson helped us tremendously! Rooms were comfortable and the other guests were friendly. The breakfast was amazing, the parking area is gated, but nice, it helps to reduce heavy traffic
One of the worst stays I've had lately. Maybe caught them on a bad week? Probably not. On business. Booked with the $10 gift card promo. Front desk lady had no idea what I was talking about. You would think with Best Western having a big promo, the staff would be informed. Get my room, nice room near the elevator and ice machine. View was blocked by the front awning... AC was too loud overall and would not stay on when you set it to high cool. TV was nice and had a good cable selection. The furniture in the room was very uncomfortable... The bed was good. The bathroom... The floor was uneven, so the door would not open all the way. I would forget from time to time and run into the door due to it being uneven. Why not fix that? The walls are thin, could here the guy next to me on the phone. The shampoo, conditioner and lotion are in dispensers. The conditioner would not come out. I asked about it and the guy with housekeeping took the bottle out of the dispenser and instructed me to use it that way. Ok... Hairs in the tub and on the walls. The towels were warn out...holes and frayed ends. The ice bucket was cheap... Had a bucket if ice and before I could go 10 steps to my room, the bottom fell out and ice went everywhere. I called the front desk to let them know there was a slip hazard and she felt put out and said they will try and get to it. Nothing was ever done. The bed was comfortable, but stains all over the bed sheets. I was there for three nights. On the first night, I come back to the hotel after being out and my key will not open the gate. I had to get out of my car and go to front desk and they said the keys are programmed for one day only. Huh?? She fixed it, but that is just stupid. I go to get a soda from the machines and the first three I pick are sold out... Par for the course. Do not stay here until they get it together! The pictures are self explanatory...
Nice place to stay during the trip. Easy to get on back to highway and get into downtown area to find nice restaurant. Staffs are very kind but room need to be more clean. Breakfast was not bad for the price.
So sad to say that our family had a horrible experience at the Best Western in Jackson, Mississippi. We canceled our stay there at 1:15 p.m., was told by the receptionist that she would take care of it, and rebooked a room at a Best Western 30 min down the road. Their website says the cancel has to be done by 6 p.m. (Which we clearly did) The hotel still charged us $250! We contacted corporate only to be told, "they are unable to offer any assistance". I am shocked that they would do this when we clearly canceled, and when we booked with the same company. This is not how customers should be treated. I am so disappointed in Best Western. For quality assurance, our phone calls were recorded... surely they could have made this right.
It is a fairly clean hotel. Gives the feel of a motel. I guess because everything was basically closed down around it. It felt like a truckers stop, The bed had tears in the sheet and they felt thin but looked clean. There wasnt any odor but I did see a roach in the bathroom.
After years of travel and staying at various hotels, we have been pleasantly surprised by the consistent quality and service we receive at Best Western. They are our "go to" first choice hotel. The room was great, bed very comfortable and breakfast was really very good. The entire property was very clean and the staff very helpful.
Well kept, clean and with all the amenities you need. Value for money, more than great. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast service is more than discrete. To see it from the outside, it looks enclosed, all enclosed and without luminous insignia, etc ... All well-rounded, with access to the parking only with room card. In the area there are many hot tables. Recommended if you are on the road or for a brief visit to Jackson. Unfortunately, the City offers nothing.
We were disappointed in this best western. All the other ones we stayed at were excellent but this one was sort of run down The sheets were balled An the shower was not clean the furniture was not comfortable
This is our second stay at Best Western. The front desk folks were very nice and friendly. Our room was clean, beds comfortable, and we had everything that we needed. We liked that the parking lot was gated. The breakfast was normal hotel fare. My one suggestion is to extend breakfast to 10:00 or at least leave grab and go options out longer than 9:00.
I really enjoyed. Great prices and friendly service. Will recommend to family and friends. Family member mentioned the bed was so comfortable and room was very clean. Great room service and front desk service
sheets have rough fabric pills; internet was slow; tv remote not changing channels; room odor when air was off; carpet looks dirty (stained;) I had to have my entry card re-coded 5 times; they need a different card entry system;
I am starting to doubt the reliability of Trip Advisor reviews after our stay at this place. We booked it primarily because of the Trip Advisor rating, but based on our experience with the hotel staff, it does not deserve the one star we are giving it. We were put into a room completely different from the type that we booked and then were told that the hotel was booked and that they could not move us. After some time and talking to the manager, we were moved - but the experience was stressful and unnecessary. The staff does not seem to know enough about the hotel to even answer simple questions. The room itself was okay, but by the time we got into it, we were tired, hot, and very unhappy. Needless to say, our future trips to Jackson will NOT include a stay here.
Staff was great, rooms were nice, lobby was modern. HAD to change reservations at last minute and they made it awesome. I only wish they had turkey options for breakfast. The rim was more spacious than I even expected
We spent one night here as we were passing through to Atlanta. The initial room we were in had a bathroom issue but they moved us to a new room and had a good stay. It was a bit odd at first with parking...it is gated parking here...it is secure...not sure if it is just because of the area the hotel is located in or what...it's near downtown, but at no time did we feel unsafe. It was VERY CLEAN and pool appeared very clean as well.
The room is large, but a bit gloomy. We slept allright, the bed is spacious. The water from the shower has a bit of a odeur and the ventilator makes a lot of noise. Breakfast has not a very big choice, but it gets you started.
This was such a great place too stay I am so looking forward too my next stay the employees went out there way too make sure our stay would be great the room were so clean the bed were comfortable and the bathroom were so clean and nice
The room was not very clean. Our son was crawling on the carpet and his feet and hands were black with dirt in an hour. The shampoo & bodywash were both empty and the door lock was missing 2 of 3 screws and barley hanging on. The couch was terribly stained and had burn marks all over it. The breakfast staff were nice. The front desk staff were ok too. Overall the people were good but the facility needs much more than more coats of paint.
The hotel was great clean tidy shame about the girl on the reception I think she had a personality transplant, so un helpful to a point of appearing rude. We did received a upgrade at this hotel (not sure why) the room was massive and had a Jacuzzi bath in the bedroom. Great value for money got breakfast included we just had a couple nights to rest up shame pool was closed it is seasonal but the weather was good.
We selected this hotel randomly for an overnight visit to Jackson for a concert. It turned out to be an excellent choice and we couldn't have been more satisfied. The staff in the hotel was most accommodating and the decor and cleanliness of the room was exceptional.
When we arrived I was concerned that my car would not be safe, because it was gated parking lot. Turned out to be for our protection with cameras. Was another great night sleep with no worries. I would stay here again! Best Westerns are always safe for women.
We only stayed one night as a stopover on our way to visit family. The room was spotless and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic - hot bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits, and gravy. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The pool was closed for maintenance, but since we were only there one night, can't really complain about that.
An older Best Western that was updated a few years ago with a clean room that gave us a good night and the usual excellent BW breakfast buffet. Not the quietest of rooms (some freeway noise and trains through the night) and our king bed was a bit jammed into one side of the room but comfortable. Good value all the same and nice staff. Secure parking.
I stayed during the last 3 months in this hotel on and the treatment could not be better. Best breakfast I've had in a small budget hotel yet. The staff is always polite and helpful. My review does not do them justice.
Had a few issues but they attended to every need. Great place to stay. The management is very attentive. They were doing some very nice upgrades while I was there. Should get even better with the upgrades. Good internet speed, fast enough to stream Netflix without problem.
This hostel facility and experience would rank with the best hotels which I have used in the last year and that includes the excellent military facilities to which I have access. I have had a lengthy association with the Best Western chain and have had very few complaints.
We returned to Jackson after five years and discovered this wonderful hotel, better than any of the several we stayed in previously. He atmosphere was very nice, rooms clean and various hot and cold options for breakfast . The parking lot was locked behind a secure fence.
We had a business meeting to attend and we booked our stay here. I called ahead and asked for the Comfortor and the Mattress pad to be clean due to severe allergies. Front Desk was very friendly and courteous. Upon check in I was slightly concerned as the property was surrounded by a security gate but quickly realized the gate and cameras were for our safetly. We double checked with front desk about clean linens and we checked in the room; they did have everything cleaned. The room was very nice, clean but you could hear the occupants in the next room having a random conversation. My only complaint, I received a call at 5:30am with no one on the other end. Other than that, it was clean and suitable for a one night stay.
When I arrived, the front desk staff was so accommodating and addressed me by name. They called my room once I made it, to check and see if the room was to my liking. The next morning I went down for breakfast and the front desk clerk, Melissa was behind the desk. I attempted to get coffee but the machine was out. I looked back and Melissa was attempting to ignore me, but I informed her that the coffee was out. Melissa, then sighed saying she just made some. I stated, well it's out now. Melissa, rolled her eyes and came from behind the desk when a white couple walked in to get breakfast. I couldn't believe she didn't want to make more coffee for me. I threw away my breakfast and went back to my room. I went down to check out and Melissa was mopping the floor. I stated that I wanted to check out. Melissa looked back over the part she already mopped and then looked at her mop, letting me know she just mopped. I told her I wanted to check out. Without looking at me, Melissa asked if I checked in with cash or card. I stated card, Melissa then stated that the money will be released back to my card very rudely, and held her hand out for the room keycard. Melissa never once looked me in my face or said thank you. I mentioned Melissa behavior to the cleaning staff and I was told that all black guest are treated like that by Melissa. I called and reported her behavior to the hotel home office, but nothing was done. It's 2016, why do people take positions in customer service knowing they do not respect ALL customers? I will never give this hotel my hard earned money again. It's the south, but that does not make it ok. My skin may be black, but my money is green. I reported this to my employer, and they said they will not do business with that hotel again.
We were supposed to stay at the holiday inn but they where snobby and refused to help. Best western didn't even snub a nose instead they gave us a beautiful room and breakfast was delicious and various breakfast items available I would go back
When you are leave d a hotel and donot remember iT THE next day, Will say that iT is just average. Room was ok, and breakfast we Europeaan never get used too, at least iT was complimentary and even better then in same, ike hotels where you have to Pay for iT. In our opinieonderzoek THE hotel needed an upgrade.the parking lot was saved by a gate.
We booked for two nights to visit Jackson since we had not been there and wanted to take a different route. This hotel was fantastic!! Only 5-10 minutes from downtown and fun restaurants (and near the state capitol and fairgrounds - which we did not need). Our room was very spacious with separate sitting area, large comfy bed and very clean. And they had a locked parking lot which was wonderful traveling. We didn't want to unload everything! The morning breakfast included in bargain price was a FULL hot buffet and delicious. We toured the nearby Natural Science museum, Sports Hall of Fame, "old town" museum, etc. Jackson is lovely!
I checked in on 10/18/16 and checked out on 10/19/16. Melissa, the front desk clerk was so rude and treated me as a inconvenience and not a paying guest. She seen me trying to get coffee, but it was out. I informed Melissa that the coffee was out, she grunted and stated that she just made some a few minutes ago. I didn't say anything else. I went to my room to pack and I came down stairs to checkout. Melissa was mopping the lobby floor. Melissa looked at the area she already mopped and then looked at her mop, letting me know without words she just mopped. She would not look me in my face. I informed her that I wanted to check out. She grunted again asking if I paid cash, I told her no and I paid with my CC. She exhaled and told me the deposit will be released and went back to mopping. I do not appreciate a staff member treating me like an inconvenience instead of a guest. Since I never met her before and to be treated like such, I assumed it was b/c I was black. I have traveled all over the country and to come to my home state and to be treated so rudely is not appreciated. The hotel was beautiful and clean with awesome evening shift staff. Carolyn [--], was superb in getting me checked. Her colleague working with her called my room to make sure everything was superb in my room. The cleaning staff was very nice and kind as well. I asked the cleaning staff about Melissa rude attitude and they apologized and stated that the black guest always complain about her work ethics. I will be informing my employer and friends about how I was treated by Melissa, a representative of Best Western Jackson, MS on Larson St. I would like to thank all the other pleasant and professional staff that made my stay enjoyable. One bad apple spoils the bunch... if wasn't for Melissa the racist, I would've given this hotel 5 stars.
We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. The hotel is in a great location, it is quiet, all the staff are super friendly and its very clean. The rooms are modern and beds are comfy. Couldn't ask for more
The room was nice but the hallways and elevator was dirty, then they charged me twice for my room and I was told if I had a complaint to send the mgr an email. I think that if you make a mistake you would have the courtesy to fix it quickly but instead I caught attitude and then was instructed to send an email. TOTALLY NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Great place for a meeting. The hotel staff was incredible and the lobby, room and surroundings was excellent. There's a 24 hour Whataburger located right across from the hotel property. The room was very clean and the electronic key worked great.
Staff was vry frndly & upbeat. Always asked of I needed anything when I wld c one in hall. Front desk was pleasant & undrstndng with all nds tht I had. Had a very homely feel during stay. Very knowledgeable about the area area as well. Wld recommend to anyone coming here for Vaca or just a weekend getaway.
Our room & the service at the hotel was great! My only complaint and it really isn't a complaint, is that we couldn't get the wifi working but it really wasn't a big problem. Loved the gated parking! Breakfast was also great! Not just Danishes & cereal, actual breakfast. Will definitely be staying here for our future livestock shows at the fairgrounds.
Very nice hotel and easy to get to from the highway. We were heading from Dallas Texas to Keene New Hampshire and this was a great spot to stop over. Nice People and good Best Western quality. I would recommend this hetol for both Business or Pleasure. Nice spot.
I travel a lot for work. Any time I come to Jackson, Best Western Executive Inn is usually my top choice. It's often much less expensive than all of its hotel competitors, especially for the level of cleanliness, comfort and central location to the Jackson area.
I have stayed at this property twice in the last 2 1/2 months. The Staff was very friendly and professional in welcoming me to my hotel room. The was a reservation oversight which the young lady working the midnight shift quickly took care of, getting me to my room for a much needed rest and sleep. I overslept the 9 am cutoff for breakfast; I did enjoy the various breakfast selections the first stay. Delicious and fulfilling ! Coffee was available, and excellent. I highly recommend this location for your stay and comfort. Everyone is friendly ! "What-A-Burger" is right across the parking lot.
This hotel a great value for the money. It was very clean and well decorated. The gated parking lot was definitely a plus for security. Having hand sanitizer at the breakfast station makes it obvious to guests that they need to clean their hands before handling food.
The gated access was a pleasant appeal and used with ease. This location had an outdoor pool that was small, quaint but pleasurable as well! I enjoyed the size of the room, an office setting as the hotel is an executive inn. And, let's not speak of the continental breakfast selections...It was so thorough and good, I wanted to invite people over to enjoy along with me. So, though my appetite's not that big, the choices were phenomenal! Thanks for a great stay!
We stayed here for one night on the way to Memphis. We were first given a very musky room but the girl on duty changed us instantly and then called us to insure we we were happy with the second room. There is a laundrette and small gym downstairs as well as a small lounge so it's got most things you'd need. It's also got a pool outside but we didn't use this as it was raining. The service at the desk was pretty great I have to say and made up for any other issue we might of had. I wouldn't be rushing back but it does the job.
The staff is friendly, room was clean and bed was comfy. Gated parking and close to restaurants and Belhaven University. Nice flat screen TV and spacious room with fridge and microwave. We will be staying here again when we come to Jackson.
We liked the hotel and its staff, they were very nice and helpful, the hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it is a gated hotel. We liked that a pass card is used to enter hotel and gate. We would stay there again. Also the location is great!!!
The room seemed clean enough until closer inspection. The toilet had curlies on it, and the floor had a chicken bone near the empty garbage can. I also woke up with bug bites on my ankles. The staff was nice, but it's hard to walk out with a smile on you face when you encounter this type of silliness.
I was happily surprised with this hotel. I visited this hotel on a business trip. When I initially arrived I was unsure of the hotel because it was set back from the road behind another business. My fears were unfounded though - I was greeted by a friendly staff member at the front desk who had me checked-in fairly quickly. I located my room fairly easily as there is only one elevator. My room was clean and put together when I first arrived. Initially the water in my bathroom would not turn on; however a quick check with the front desk let me know that they were aware of the situation affecting several rooms and were working to resolve it. In no time the water was back on. I was on the second floor above the entrance to the hotel and heard no noise from the street that night - the room was very quiet. There are several fast food restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. From my room, I could see a Whataburger, an Arby's, a Taco Bell and a Wendy's among others. I ended up choosing to order food from a local pizza place and it was delivered directly to my room. When I went to check out in the morning, I spoke with a lady named Melissa at the front desk. The hotel does not offer luggage storage in the typical sense, but she was willing to place my luggage behind the front desk for pick-up when I returned. She made sure I understood that the typical no guarantee applied to this situation. I returned promptly at the end of her shift and obtained my luggage. For me, Melissa going the extra mile with this service turned my view on this hotel from "this is a decent hotel" to "if I return to Jackson, I will seek out staying at this specific hotel again". It is the customer service of employees like Melissa that will win me back to specific hotels time and time again.
The highlight of this hotel is the location. Finding it was easy and it's proximity to the highway was perfect. Once there, the check in was smooth and my room was clean and tidy. While it had a slight musty smell, it didn't detract at all. I needed to use the laundry which was also a welcome bonus. When the dryer didn't work and I reported it to the desk, it was fixed the following day. A surprise given this was a weekend. The breakfast was easy to access and it was not crowded. There were plenty of towels and the pool was also a delight to use, especially as I had it to myself while I waited for my washing. Whilst the location was not the most scenic part of Jackson, it suited me perfectly and at a reasonable price.
We stayed here on our way to Alabama. We usually stay in the Holiday Inn but I have to say that this was a fantastic choice!!! The hotel and rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff was great and the breakfast was AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Jackson!
Very impressed! Newly updated throughout and they working on the landscaping. All of the staff was very nice. The room was spacious and comfy. My only complaint would be that they could use some softer beds. But other than that everything was nice!
-stayed at best western [725 larson street jackson, mississippi] great breakfast, really awesome king size bed. plenty of blankets and 4 nice full size pillows for your head. -42'' digital television / great remote / excellent movies to watch / friendly staff, especially the front desk / nice smiles everywhere / even the maintenance. -excellent breakfast , best breakfast i have had in a long time; scrambled egg's toast, bacon, sausage, cereal, grits, home made biscuit's, etc. you name it they probably had it. -security entrance & exit need room key. gated / security parking lot for your vehicles.
Was a little skeptical of the areas because it was hidden from the road. But as soon as we walked in everything was great. Rooms were decorated beautifully and very clean. Woke up to an amazing breakfast prepared by Gwen who is arguably the sweetest person of my whole journey from the west coast. Melissa at the front desk was a cutie as well... Highly recommend.....
When we pulled up to this site we were really concerned because it sets back off the road and is very bleak looking. But the rooms are really nice and exceptionally clean. Very nice would recommend for an overnight on the road. Pool , breakfast included
Adequate for overnight stay. Staff misinformed as to policy with their vendor (Priceline). Upon checking in asked for room with two queen beds because we were travel with two young grandchildren. Clerk said room assigned was king with sofa bed, which would have worked but no bedding and could not be changed. . Called the desk to order once in room. Also show clerk receipt from Priceline stating room type assigned at checkin. I would never stay here if not highly discounted. Avoid if booking direct.
We had a nice experience at the Best Western on our road trip from Texas to Florida. Rooms were clean and relatively quiet given proximity to highway. Front desk was helpful. Price was hard to beat. No ice in the ice machine, though. Parking is gated requiring key card entry which is nice.
We stayed one night on the way to Pensacola. the room smell of cigarette smoke and no wifi. The comforter was not clean. Drawing in ink on the comforter. I have stayed at Best Western several times and never charged a deposit. Carolyn Crowe
We recently stayed in this hotel for one night. The room and bathroom were very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was wonderful. The hotel felt safe, although not being on a large piece of property, but we were thankful for the gated parking lot. My only complaint is that the girl working the front desk was the same girl who was in charge of all of breakfast. It was way too much for one person on a busy Saturday morning. She was doing a great job trying to juggle it all, but there needs to be two people on the busiest mornings. The phone was ringing off the hook and people wanting to check out while coffee cups and juice needed refilling. Maybe someone just got sick at the last minute. Another small suggestion is, when customers are checking in, try to figure out another way to verify a phone number besides calling it out in front of other customers. Just a small confidentiality thing. We would stay here again.
This property has been newly updated. There is a fence around the parking lot that makes everything feel a lot safer. My daughter loved the pool with the dolphin tile in the bottom. The front desk clerk was very nice and even popped popcorn that night for guests. Free breakfast was also good. We have no complaints about this stay. We would stay again.
This was the best hotel. It had the most friendly staff, excellent buffet breakfast (better choices than most hotels)(family loved the bacon), great pool 3ft-5ft (saltwater pool), and super clean. This is the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. The bed were very comfortable with perfectly white sheets and plenty of pillows. The room was spacious with a large flat-screen tv, mini frig, microwave, coffee maker in it on corner, and spacious hidden closet (the entire door was a mirror). And the shower was the bomb! Excellent water pressure and the shower head was large and sprayed wonderful jets of water (definitely not a wimpy shower). We LoVeD this hotel and hated to leave it.
I arrived at 11 pm and was told, I was just about to cancel your reservation, I didn't even ask why. There was not access to the front desk, you had to talk and transact thru a glass and she didn't know how to use a gift card, I really like Best Western hotels because of the beds but this one is not par for the chain. Plus the wifi didn't work!
My wife and I stayed here on our trip from Dallas to Destin, FL. Front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. The parking lots are secured by access gates which gives you a nice sense of security, but maybe raises a red flag this property isn't in the greatest area. It was a long walk from the parking lot to the elevator and difficult to maneuver the luggage cart past the pool, down a narrow walkway with little lighting and no ramps. The room was clean and smelled pleasant. The beds were too firm for our liking. Our bathroom door kept dragging on the tile each time you opened/closed it making a terribly loud noise which was very distracting (we reported it the next morning and were told it would be fixed. Breakfast was fair but their pancake machine was broken. They had eggs, biscuits, ham, gravy, and the usual bagels, cereals, etc.
Great price for a 2 queen room. Fantastic decor & presentation. Staff friendly enough, but could be more inviting and welcoming. Decent sized pool for the size hotel it is, but could use a good cleaning. Plenty of outlets in the room for charging mobile devices. The biggest negative was the gate around the parking lot. It's a very large detractor for first impressions.
We traveled with a family of 5 and made our reservations over the phone with Best Western. We were promised 2 queen beds and a sofa sleeper. After traveling 14 hours in the car, we arrived and were told their hotel did not have sofa sleepers. After asking if we could have an additional room or if any accommodations could be made, they simply said no. So, one of us slept on the floor for 2 nights. Very disappointing.
It was a nice stay, very comfortable, clean, good breakfast and I would recommend it. Family friendly hotel, microwave and refrigerator in the room which I consider a bonus. It was located across from a stadium but there was nothing going on so it was nice and quiet.
My husband was put off at first by the hotel behind the gates--but I wish all hotels had this safe access, especially if you are a woman traveling alone. And I have had friends who have had their car broken into while staying at a motel/hotel. The room we had was very up to date, clean and well-appointed. A really good value --about $100 with taxes for a kind bed/seating area. Good breakfast in the morning too.
I was very pleased with the room, safety, cleanliness, comfort, good breakfast choices, internet, & staff! You just never know when you book "sight unseen," but I trusted Trip Advisor, and I'm glad I did!
I can't say enough about about the Best Western Executive Inn! All of the staff members very friendly and courteous! The decor of the entire hotel is fabulous and you won't find a cleaner hotel. They also have a wide selection of food items on their breakfast buffet. I also like that it has a gated parking lot. I will definitely chose this hotel the next time I come to Jackson MS!
The Best Western Executive Inn was very nice! Great choice for a business trip to Jackson, MS. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to relax in this area. It was close to stores and restaurants. The staff was very nice along with the rooms.
When travelling with our two grandchildren to Texas (approx. 1600 miles) we planned to drive 8 hours one day, sight-see the next day, then travel 8 hours again, then sight-see, then travel, etc. We wanted the kids to end each sightseeing day swimming and tiring themselves out. This would make them less restless on the 8 hour travel days. Indoor pools usually stay open till midnight while the outdoor pools close by 10. When I made advance reservations I noted the ad said the Best Western had an indoor pool but when we arrived, they had an outdoor pool. I told this to Miss Carolyn, who was on desk duty, she investigated and found out the other Best Western in Jackson, MS. had the indoor pool. My reservation was for two nights, we were tired, so I agreed to stay for one night only. Miss Carolyn apologized for the misunderstanding, on my part, and cancelled our reservations for the next night without penalty. After checking in, we went to the pool with our grandchildren. Miss Carolyn came out to check on us, provided the kids with extra towels, gave us directions to the local eateries, and made us feel very welcome. The next day she printed out directions to the Children's Museum and the Jackson Zoo. With service like that, we decided to spend the next night there as well. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the staff exceptionally cordial, and Miss Carolyn a treasure. I would recommend staying there if ever in Jackson, MS. By the way, the pool was wonderful and the kids loved swimming outdoors. Thank you Miss Carolyn. PA. Grandmother.
The hotel and room was very clean. No complaints at all. The staff was very very friendly and they have a really great hot and cold breakfast daily. I liked that it was gated in and you have to have a card to get in. Very safe! Overall I was very happy with my stay. This was a trip to visit with a sick relative.
The experience with the staff was unacceptable. 1. Hair located in sheets, Called front desk, staff brought "us" sheets to change the bed. :( 2. Night staff contacted guests at 5:00a.m.!! because they needed to complete their "Night audit". Room was reserved with credit card to hold only. Guest mentioned to night clerk upon check in that cash payment would be rendered on check out. No notes were documented causing the staff and management to contact guests at 5:00, 6:30 and again at 7:40 a.m. Management said, "Most people do not visit front desk on checkout. We needed to make sure you didn't try to leave without paying". A huge an incorrect assumption. (Cedric, Dave Patel) Hoping for a calmer experience at breakfast, the pancake machine was not available. Mozetta replied to my inquiry, "It won't be ready. There's no more bags of batter." Poor service. Non-caring staff. No sense of care or urgency. Just another day.
Awesome experience. I was away from the hotel and could not find my purse. I called the front desk and asked if she would go in our room and look for it. She didn't hesitate. She called me back and let me know it wasn't there. When we checked out she asked if I had found it. Very caring staff. Clean room that smelled great and really good breakfast. Loved the price and everything about our stay. We will stay here when in Jackson.
Stayed overnight on the way to Gulfshores. Very clean and accommodating. Spacious 500 sq ft room with comfortable king bed. Large flat screen TV. Breakfast was more than adequate but not really note worthy.
Awesome stay! Staff friendly and very helpful. Room excellent. Could not have asked for a cleaner room. Bedtime was very quite. ?????? if you are looking for a place to stay I would absolutely recommend this place.
We did not have a reservation but were able to get a room. Parking is in an enclosed lot, and you need a room key to access the gate. The hotel looks like it has recently been remodeled, and everything was clean and attractive. The breakfast room was busy, but everything was nicely arranged and the food was good. Staff were helpful and pleasant. I appreciated the guest laundry.
Me and my wife had a great time @ the Best Western on Larson St. That is a hotel that has had some major upgrades from bedrooms, to the breakfast, as well as the parking. Bedrooms feature directv, along with comfortable bedding. The pool and the lobby is newly designed and looks sharp. Parking is Inclosed and that is great for safety being in town. I'm looking forward to the next time I stay there.
Awesome place. The staff is friendly. The rooms are nice and clean. Very spacious. Beds were very comfortable. Flat screens with satellite. Lots of choices to wet within walking distance. No smoking, but has very easily accessible smoking areas. Would definitely stay again
Drove thru town and needed budget-conscious lodging. The hotel was surprisingly surrounded by gate access but I understood it to prevent nearby venue patrons from parking there. The hotel had gone under some reconstruction so there were some noticeable improvements. In general, I found the hotel to be safe and quiet. The hotel staff were kind, friendly and professional. Showers worked great. The breakfast station was very good and adequately stocked. There seemed to be few hotel guests compared to nearby hotel. You can tell that the hotel does care and wants to promote their establishment. However, I had only one primary concern about this hotel: the water color in the toilet was yellow. I question if this is 'normal' and was related to the establishment vs. the area. As a frequent business traveler, I had to downgrade the rating to average. Otherwise, the review would be very good.
Basic, but very clean. Polite personnel. The breakfast attendant did a nice job of keeping everything clean, well stocked and orderly. Biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, taco fixings, cold cereal, pastries, etc. My husband and son used the fitness center.
This is my home away from home in Jackson! The decor was great in the past and now they have updated exerting from the lobby to the rooms in a new modern style. Even the hot breakfast line up (always great) has gained some new items. I definitely recommend a stay here and I'll continue to return "home".
My experience with this hotel was awesome, the rooms, the service is number 1, I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends who will be traveling in and out of the states, this hotel should be put on the map for its cleanness, and it service.
It was a one night stay. The hotel was a good value for the money. It is in a convenient location. The room was ok, furniture in the room was not comfortable. the stay was good for one night on a quick trup
The staff was very helpful. Our room was neat and clean. Breakfast was good with many choices not to mention delicious. The parking was secure and we felt safe in the area. Easy access from the highway. Again it was the staff that made the hotel!
The manager and staff really went out of their way to accommodate my husband's disability. When we asked for a shower chair, we were upgraded to the jacuzzi suite with a walk-in shower and bench which we were very grateful for. The hotel is very clean, on a quiet side street about a mile from the University of Mississippi medical center. Breakfast was tasty and the parking was secure. This was our second stay; we will definitely stay at this hotel on each of our visits to Jackson.
This hotel is gated in which adds extra security. The entire staff was friendly and willing to help with any questions or concerns. It is TRULY a non smoking hotel. The room that we stayedin was the king suite. The beds were very comfortable as well as the entire room. They actually have real breakfast food and not your typical muffins and juice. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The staff was thereto make sure there was enough, and if anything ran low they would cook more. The dining area was very nice and comfortable as well. I will be staying here on my future visits to Jackson.
I really love this hotel. I stay once a month for at least one night. The room is always clean, and the beds are super comfortable. Everyone here has always been nice, They always have a good breakfast!
Very nice people and maybe the best chain hotel breakfast I've had! Very nice updated décor. The woman who was looking over the breakfast buffet was very very sweet and offered to make some pancakes for me...that was a first!!!
Our stay was really nice! It is apparent that the hotel was recently renovated as the rooms and lobby are very modern looking and have nice appliances, furniture, decorations, etc. There was a fridge and microwave in our room which was nice too. The breakfast was excellent! We got to meet Gwen and she was really attentive and made us feel welcome and at home. Great coffee, variety of food, and comfortable atmosphere. It was the perfect start to our long day of driving ahead of us, and we're very appreciative to her and the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
Clean. Comfortable beds. Good security in parking lot. Water is a dingy rust color. Staff was just ok; Not terribly helpful. IMPORTANT NOTE: Hot breakfast is NOT until 9:00; only until 8:30. That ruined the stay for us because we believed breakfast was served until 9:00. Well, it is, as long as you mean ONLY the cold pastries, and not the eggs, pancakes, ham, bacon, biscuits, etc. They refused to bring out more despite many guests complaining while we were there.
Nice design. Comfy bed. Good internet. Just and overall great stay. Nice, clean decor. Clean room and a super comfy bed. The only drawback was that someone had previously smoked in the room. Not the best part of town, but the hotel more than made up for it. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the previous week and it sucked compared to this. A really good value for money. I'll be back.
gwen is simply amazing! she is friendly, and makes sure everything is professionally set up each morning. loved the food there and looked forward to a great start each morning. the room was clean and i liked the decorations. the staff at the front were friendly and always made me feel like a valued guest. the staff overall created a comfortable environment for all the guests i saw. i also liked the 24 hr coffee, orange juice and water availability. that made it nice to not have to go over to the gas station late at night for those things...
The outside is nothing to look at, possibly scary, drab, sketchy, fencing to protect the cars (which is a good thing), but adds to the outside persona. The inside is great! Everything inside is super nice. Seems like new everything, lighting, furniture, fixtures, carpet. Clean smell, great atmosphere. Front desk staff was nice and expedited the check in process. Room was clean, all new, or seemed new furnishings, giant TV (with HD). Microwave and fridge in the room. Wi-Fi is pretty weak. Bathroom clean, soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower! Beds were seriously as comfortable as any hotel beds I have EVER slept in. Great pillows, too! Continental breakfast was fresh and well-maintained, had someone in charge of replenishing it. Fitness center, had 3 pieces of working equipment, fresh towels, working TV, water fountains across the hall.
Hotel close to concert venue, room was large and clean. Check in and out was very quick and breakfast was great. I would highly recommend this hotel. There is a security gate to get in and get out and made me feel really comfortable.
Pros: Easy Check in Easy check out 11 am check out time Don't use Hotwire you can get a better deal directly from them Very comfortable beds Very clean beds ( yes I checked the inseams of the mattress and under) Very clean rooms (no dust, unwanted hairs, or crumbs) The bathroom was recently remodeled Kids will love the soap dispenser in the shower Nice staff Room includes fridge and microwave Has the best customer reviews on Trip Advisor compared to the area hotels Gated Parking- Felt safer Popeyes, Taco Bell, and Wendys are all less than a mile away Flat Screen television Cons: Gated Parking- Am I in a bad neighborhood? Why is it needed? Across the busy highway from the Coliseum (You can walk to the State Fair with small kids AT YOUR OWN RISK) What-A-Burger across the parking lot Looks VERY mediocre from the outside *I did not eat breakfast or swim in the pool. It looks as though they only have an outside pool however, you are still in a gated lot so safety should not be a concern, I guess....*
I was pleasantly surprised. Room was very clean. Amenities were very nice. Bed was comfortable and I slept well. Staff was very attentive. Breakfast buffet included warm and cold items along with take and go items. Buffet exceeded expectations. Very economical rate for amenities provided. I travel here rather frequently for medical care and this will be my go to hotel from this point forward.
We stopped here about 10:00 at night because the rain was too bad to drive any further. Not expecting much at all. Hoping for a clean bed. Opened the door to the room and could not believe my eyes. Double queen room was HUGE!! And beautiful! Everything was clean, bed very comfortable. Very large bathroom and clean. We went down for breakfast the next morning expecting the usual pastries and fruit. There was all that, in addition to seasoned potatoes, ham, bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy. And it was good! Overall, we were extremely impressed with every aspect!
I stayed here for a work trip for one night. The staff was great. They were very attentive and willing to help. The location is good. Plenty of places to eat. Close to downtown. The room was clean and modern. Good for business stay...quick internet. Will come back.
This is a great place to stay. Was in the area due to a family member being in a nearby hospital. Went here because of reviews. Clean room and bathroom. Very friendly staff. Washer and dryer on first floor. Free continental breakfast. The whole hotel is surrounded by a gate and you have to use your room key to get inside gate. Felt very safe here. Would stay here again.
Very friendly, excellent breakfast display, voices and service. Best of any BW I have stayed at. Location was easy to maneuver and get to other places. Easy access to highways. Felt vehicle safety was very secure with electronic gate for entering and leaving premises.
The location was quite scary and not well communicated at the time of booking. The reviews I read were really good, but my review didnt match up. Front desk staff seemed not to care much about guests, not going out of their way to assist. No extra linens for the pull out bed and we had to go downstairs to get them. Pull out mattress was stained and extremely gross. We sprayed EVERYTHING down with 91% rubbing alcohol solution. Hotel was "out of pillows". Gated parking was a bit unsettling. Made us feel as if we were not in a safe location.
This was not the best experience I have had at a Best Western. The Good - the staff were friendly and customer service was fine The Average - Location The Not So "Best" - the common areas need a refresh, trash was in the common area and stairwell when I checked in late afternoon. It was still there when I checked out late morning. Which shows no one walks the premises or if they do, don't care how the hotel is presented. the carpet in the room and the hallways are dated and need replacement. Shower/Bathroom was dated. The Worst - Though not a hotel facility issue, my stay occurred where many young adults (high school age) were on-site. The group was loud, noisy, smoked by entry doors, and frequently ran uip and down the hallways.
Very nice property in downtown. Staff is very helpful and attentive. Rooms are very clean and the bed is one of the more comfortable I've slept in. Direct TV offers you all the channels you can ask for.
We like the in room jacuzzi and extra large room. The food is better than Marriott and everyone was very friendly! I was also surprised by how comfortable the bed was. This was a great value for this business trip.
This is a wonderful property for business or pleasure travel. It is well located and easily accessible to highways and local interests, restaurants, etc. Friendly service and great accommodations. Very comfortable and convenient.
We stayed here for one night since we were visiting the state capitol. The location is great with lots of restaurants and stores. The room was fantastic, spacious, clean, and in great condition. It must have a new couch as the cushions were very firm (Room 214). It has a coffee maker and refrigerator. The breakfast was to our liking as we are easy to please. The room has an extra luggage table which is great for us as my husband and I pack separate luggage bags (carry on size). It may seem trivial but two bags and one luggage rack means using a chair, the floor, or the desk. The bathroom has mounted dispensers for soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower area. There is a lotion dispenser however it was either out of product or not working properly. As it is great for the property to have the dispensers, I like taking the extra products with us to use for future travel. Internet was great. We would stay here again.

I stayed at the Best Western for two nights for a conference in Jackson. I was very pleased with the experience. Breakfast was great, the bed was comfortable. The room was spacious and the furniture was great.
The beds were so comfortable and the dispensers in the bathroom was a very smart idea and convenient. The gated parking lot was also nice, knowing my vehicle was safe during the night. The breakfast was good, overall quality was good. Will definitely stay at this Best Western again when in Jackson, Ms.
Traveling from Texas to Jackson, MS on business, and needed a hotel room for the night. Was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the rooms were. Updated and super clean and fresh. I normally have trouble sleeping in a strange bed; but not here! Awesome bed and sheets and pillows. I also like the fact that the premises are gated and locked. This was a big plus for me, as I had a valuable stained glass panel in my work van. No worries about the van! Used the exercise room. Very nice. Breakfast was also very nice. I would stay here again.
Had to stay here on business for three days. I left paperwork at home and the staff was great about letting me use their fax to help get it to me. They were very hospitable. Room was clean and free movie channels. I like the gaited secure parking lot because this area is high crime. The breakfast was eggs, gravy biscuit, waffles, cereal, bagels, ham, sausage, etc. So it was a good complimentary breakfast. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Stayed here for the MS Blue Marathon in downtown Jackson. Hotel is conveniently located just off I-55 and with quick access to downtown. Our room was spotless and had up to date styling. No complaints at all. Gated parking was a huge plus in this area. They do allow pets - which is something I normally try to avoid, but there were no issues with hair, stains, or bad smells in our room. I would definitely stay here again if I needed to be in the downtown Jackson area.
Beds were comfortable with clean room and bed coverings and breakfast was good! We pulled in late and it was a relief to lay our heads down at a nice place for an affordable price. Don't be shy to stay here. Quiet rooms with no thin walls. Got to see family of deer outside too! Great stay!
Patrice Thigpen checked me and my family in on yesterday she was so attentive and joyful and kind. She is a very happy but professional person. But this Brittany girl on the other hand was very rude and non chalant. Don't want to deal with her on my next trip
The beds were so comfortable and the dispensers in the bathroom was a very smart idea and convenient. The gated parking lot was also nice, knowing my vehicle was safe during the night. The breakfast was good, there was a few issues but overall quality was good. Will definitely stay at this Best Western again when in Jackson, Ms.
I cam into the hotel with nothing at all, not even a telephone. Brittany helped me get in touch with my people, using her personal phone, in North Mississippi so I could get a ride home. She made me feel like a normal person who who wasn't being judged based on my current situation. I will pray for her tonight. Thank God for her. -TC
The value received with the staff, complimentary breakfast, gated parking, and comfort of the room were very good! The room service did not happen one of the mornings, but when it happened, it was very good.
I was moved to Jackson on advice of my physicians as I waited for my son to be born with a heart condition. I pretty much lived in the hotel for 3 weeks before he was born. I will have to say that it was an awesome experience. The staff was amazing , especially Patrice and Michelle. These ladies can take care of whatever you need ! Also ever morning there is an awesome breakfast waiting for you with a super friendly lady that will get you whatever you need. The room was very clean and I never had any issues with housekeeping or needing anything for my room. It has a gated parking lot which made me feel a lot safer if I came back to the hotel at night. Overall the location of the hotel is right near I-55 and easy and quick to get to the hospital for all my appointments and easy to get to any shopping or food you might want. This hotel made a stressful situation a lot more bare able for an expecting mother .
I checked in Saturday 12/19/2015. When I checked in the receptionist was very informative and helpful. I don't remember her name (I'm bad with names), but she is an African American with dark skin and a beautiful white smile! Once I was in my room, I realized that the WiFi wasn't working. I called to the front desk and the receptionist told me that she was working on that problem. When it was fixed she was nice enough to call my room and let me know. Breakfast the next morning was good, filling and free! The lobby was also decorated for Christmas. Everything was great! Thank you all again and Happy Holidays!
We stayed here while receiving treatment at Jackson Medical for an extended period which puts a lot of pressure on the staff. They came thro with shining colors, all of them and the hotel was very clean, accessible to all locations and very safe Parking in locked gates was a nice feature for us
traveled to jackson and stayed in BW. Rooms were large and spacious. Staff was kind and helpful. Morning breakfast was ok. location was near restaurants and several fast food chains. location was near downtown which made sightseeing. We encourage people to check this one out
I am writing this review on behalf of my family, who traveled without me. My wife, two sons and mother in law went on a 7 day cruise two weeks ago. The ship departed from New Orleans on a Sunday. They left St. Louis on the day before and drove into the night and ended up staying at this property. The plan was to wake up and finish the drive to New Orleans after a good night's sleep. That is exactly what happened. The stay was uneventful. No issues...until Sunday afternoon when they were on the ship. My wife said that my youngest son (who has very sensitive skin) started to get really irritated and began scratching his upper arms and shoulders. My wife said it wasn't long after that, that she began to itch as well. They both had numerous small bites on their arms and shoulders. It didn't take long before my older son experienced the same. Bedbugs...no doubt about it. They were about to depart, so she did not have time to contact the hotel. They were gone for 8 days, but even when they got back, I could still see the bites on them. My wife contacted the hotel this week and was told "someone else had also notified them and they have since sprayed the room". That's it. No apology, no refund, no free room at another BW property...just a "thanks for letting us know". I understand that bed bugs are not necessarily a sign of a dirty establishment. They could have been brought in by anyone. That said, it's definitely not the fault of the person staying in the room, either. I'm not about trying to get things for free, but if I were running a business, I would have absolutely taken care of the person's charges, if for no other reason the inconvenience of you and your kids being bitten and scratching like crazy when you should be enjoying a cruise.
Very polite front desk staff. The room was excellent: decor, cleanliness and comfort! I did not have time to enjoy the breakfast, but it was made available to me. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and the price was great for the accommodations provided. I was in town for an interview and decided at the last minute to stay an additional day. I switched from the hotel I stayed in the first night to this Best Western and I'm so glad that I did. The hotel parking lot was also gated, which added additional security. I would definitely stay here again!
Checked into this hotel after a difficult day expecting the usual. I was pleasantly surprised with the above par service and professionalism from the young lady behind the counter, her name is Patrice, understanding the type of truck I was driving (a piggyback set of three) she took the extra time to evaluate the size and suggested that I could park it in the lot instead of across the street in the dark and not having to lug my luggage that far to the hotel. Wish there were more people like her in this industry, it would make my time on the road a little more bright.
Very pleased with the room. The room was clean and updated. Breakfast was great with a variety of items to choose from. Hotel was gated and the location was good. The bed was comfortable. We only stayed for one night but very pleased with the overall experience.
At check in you have to sign a waiver which states they are not responsible for loss or damaged items. Not being able to cancel without being charged I signed. They have security gate for parking. When you swipe your keycard the gate opens. Before I could get through the gate crashed into my rental car. Manager came and fix the gate and left. Never came inside to address the issue with us. This was rude and disrespectful. Needless to say I didn't take my car outside of property to find food. Very little choice of restaurants in walking distance. Will never stay there again. In addition the bed wasn't comfortable!
We stayed at the Best Western Executive Inn while our motor home was having some work done. The motel is very nice and clean. The neighborhood is not very nice but there is fenced parking and you must use your room card to get in. The breakfast is amazing. Fresh scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon and all the other usual eats. No toaster waffles. Thank you Gwen.
hotel had been redone- i had stayed at this hotel previously about 3 years earlier- huge improvement with updated look. The location was very convenient to every where I had to be or go. I was familiar with this hotel
We chose this hotel to stay at, while our daughter had her baby nearby at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and subsequent heart surgery for the baby that week. We were prepared to switch hotels after a week, in case we were not satisfied by this hotel. We are still here...on our second week (due to baby's seriousness in the NICU) and did not switch. We are completely satisfied. This hotel staff has gone beyond the call of duty. They honored a good price for our lengthy stay. They have accommodated our unusual needs dealing with our two year old grandson we are taking care of while his mommy and daddy deal with a very sick new little sister. In particular I want to give out shouts to these staff members who have been so kind this past week: Ms. Gwen in the breakfast area (she even brought us some homemade banana bread!), Ms. Patrice, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Brittany, and Mr Cedric at the front desk at all hours and helped for finding places different needs (even made a list of possible restaurants to use on Thanksgiving Day tomorrow), Mr. Kenny and his wife were so amazing and kind when we were in a room on the second floor before the baby's birth. We have moved to first floor for different bed accommodations after baby's birth. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! They made a very difficult situation away from home much more tolerable.
When I first got there in Jackson to this hotel it was in a bad area. You can't even get inside the gate without an access code and the added protection is because of the crime area that it is in within Jackson. The place from the outside looms horrible and the curtains look nasty too because I seen stains from the outside window. This hotel is in a bad area and I would not sleep here for even an hour or thirty without my life or car being taken away. Stay away from Jackson city all together and yes I drove through it all
Great value for the price. Free breakky and wifi and parking, we easily got our moneys worth. Was close enough to everything we wanted, staff friendly and our room was very spacious and comfortable. Would stay again for sure.
Extremely comfortable hotel with excellent friendly service and lots of little extras like breakfast and laundry facilitates to make it a great stay. The bed was very comfortable so we were rested for our road trip next day. Very hard to fault - much better than a number of 5 stars we have stayed in.
Didn't expect such a delicious breakfast. Staff was very kind. Rooms and hotel was updated very nicely. Only complaint is the smell of cigarette smoke in our non smoking hotel and cheap complimentary toothbrush. Otherwise great distance to downtown and very close to fast food restaurants.
We spent a night at Executive Inn Jackson, MS while traveling from Alabama to Texas. Reservation was made online. We were a little worried when we learned State Fair was going within walking distance of hotel. Once we were inside, we never heard anything from outside. The room was clean and very comfortable. Gated parking was also a nice feature. We would definitely recommend hotel and would stay again if in area.
Very nice place to stay in Jackson. Close to the Fairgrounds and a nice breakfast. Very nice staff. Rooms were clean and neat and the bed was very comfortable. The fence around the hotel made me more comfortable also
Great rooms and the complimentary breakfast is a full, hot meal. Appreciated the fitness room and the recent upgrade (my opinion) to DirecTV. Quick and easy access to computers (Windows and Apple OS) for business purposes. Professional and friendly staff who were very helpful and efficient for both check in and check out. Will choose this hotel again.
Great Hotel! Very nice and clean, the staff is very helpful. however the only down fall is that the breakfast time should be extended from 6:00 am to 10:00 am, to be able to enjoy the tasty breakfast.......
Hotel exceeded my expectations. Fun, up to date interior, clean, comfy, security gate, and the front desk clerk was super friendly. There was also a lady who cooks breakfast, and there was plenty of it. Love this hotel and look forward to a future stay!
Stopped here on way to Florida. Didn't have huge expectations as it wasnt the focus of our trip. Check in clerk friendly, and a beautiful smile to greet us. Then.......our room #224. Gorgeous upon first glance. Until you take a breath, then the sweet aroma of bug spray permeates around you. Could ALMOST have lived with that. The squished,.yet dead bug on the sheets not so much. Called the desk, no apologies, said there was no other jacuzzi suite, but would change the sheets. Finally showed up to offer us another jacuzzi suite that they had after all. Still, no apologies for the inconvenience. Next room much better. Checked out with a nice clerk who did finally apologize after I said the previous clerk didn't. Overall, wouldn't go there again. Try at your own risk, bugs in one room equals bugs in another.
The first time I stayed everything was great from the staff to the room. The second time I stayed I didn't care for the room. The hall carpet was dirty but upon checking out, I booked for my next visit & requested for the same room I had on my first visit.
Great hotel. Love the fact it has a gated parking lot. The staff is always super friendly and the breakfast is pretty good. Stay here at least twice a year. The beds are really comfortable and the bathrooms are always clean when we stay.
This facility is situated off I-55 and in close proximity of I-20. It is secured with a gated electronic fence. This gives you an added feeling of being safe. The facility is well maintained (inside/outside), room was clean, neat, orderly and offered several amenities. The breakfast was great and offered a variety of entries for your choosing. If your travel take you in this direction this hotel is a must stay.

I booked this hotel base on tripadvisors ratings, the room was large enough, the check in girl was nice enough. I looked at the room, it looked ok, so I paid for it. We get settled, I noticed an almond , peanut and raisin on the floor. I picket them up and thru them away. I pulled back the sheets and noticed hairs on the bed, I went and got new sheets put them on myself. My shoes were sticking to the floors in the bathroom and entry way, so I wiped the floor with some wipes, they turned black. The bed is also right next to the A/C. Breakfast was OK. The girl at check out , discounted the room $10.00. Sheets felt old, pillows were the small half pillows.
This was a reasonably priced hotel that was found and it was newly remodeled on the inside and was very nice. It offered breakfast and had a key coded gate. I was surprised when I ordered extra towels I was told I had to turn in the dirty ones first. Also, some one knocked to get dirty towels early the next day without leaving clean towels. Not good to me. Brittany at the front desk was excellent upon my check in.
I had not heard good things about the area near the capital/downtown Jackson and need a place to stay at the last minute. Secure parking was a must as I was on the motorcycle. This place fit the bill plus. As a retired military member I got a King room with desk, couch, etc, etc. at a reasonable price, very friendly and helpful staff and a very good breakfast to boot. Since I will be making future trips to the same destination this place will be my first choice.
We stayed in the most amazing room at the Executive Inn in Jackson recently while traveling to Oklahoma. Clean, quiet, and HUGE! Great nights sleep and the staff was great as well. We'll definitely stay again if we're in the area.
