"Yong lady on nights Ashley is always lovely"
I have been to this location serval times an the girl at night has always been very detailed an has offered me water, chips an even something she brought when i was tired an hungry. The place is always clean. I remember one time when she had to run front desk an cooked breakfast an was still happy in the morning!!! No name tag, but I asked her her name an i wont forget it she needs to be promoted. will return. Go to St. Vincent quite often.
"FFA Stay at BW"
All good. Great staff, good stay! Very professional environment. Very understanding folks. Accommodating to everything we needed. Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean, hotel was clean. We brought a pile of teenagers and felt safe and secure.
"Good stay."
We read reviews trying to find affordable but clean and safe place to stay on two day trip. Took a chance on this hotel. Service was excellent at check in and out. Rooms are reasonably updated with some frayed carpeting at edge of door but overall felt clean. Beds really comfy and alept well. Special requests were even met to best of their abilities. Would stay again, in fact, im writing this review from this hotel on my return trip.
"Reception girl was terrible"
I wrote this email to the General Manager but got NO response: (we were not the only people who this girl was either rude or lied to ) Good afternoon, Rather than post a bad review just because of one person, I have decided to email you privately instead. My husband and I were guests at your hotel last night 6th August. This was not a cheap stay for us with the New Zealand dollar exchange rate being poor at present. Upon arrival, the young girl on reception was on a private phone call and continued to be so for quite a time, upon ending the call she then picked the phone up couple more times even though it didn't ring, and fiddled around with some money in ? the till. I asked if there was someone else not busy like herself who could check us in . She then slowly said she could do it. It was a bit of a long slow process, with the young lady speaking exceptionally quietly so we had to keep asking her to repeat herself. We asked if there were pool towels, she said no but we could get some from the gym - found later to be a lie, there were pool towels. Asked what floor the laundry was on, she said the 3rd, another lie, later found it was the 4th. Asked how much the cost was for the laundry machines, she didn't know. Asked if she could change a $5 for quarters so we could do our laundry, she said that the hotel does not do change. Asked if there was a change machine, - no. But, advised us to go next door to liquor store to get change. We went there and were told in no uncertain terms that she had lied, that they do not give out change all. I don't know what her problem was, but lying to guests is not acceptable. Later that evening, a man was on reception and provided change (quarters) when we found the dryer was $3 so we were short. He was much more amenable. This morning on checking out, the same young lady was on reception, and when I asked for your email, she suddenly found her voice and spoke normally instead of the whispering she was doing the night before. As overseas tourists and prolific reviewers on numerous websites, we fully understand the impact a negative review can have, which is why I am emailing you privately, as this was just one person ruining our overall stay. As my husband is a company owner/director and employer, we fully understand how difficult these sort of situations are. I will wait for your response before I write my next travel blog and do my reviews accordingly. ' Therefore, the lack of reply from the General Manager reflects that she just doesn't care and so this review was posted.
"Nice hotel"
Clean room, firm bed, helpful desk clerk who recommended a great Indian restaurant nearby. Breakfast and breakfast area needed attention. The bananas were rotten (and the only fruit on the breakfast buffet), the whipped cream (for hot chocolate?) had a best by date from March (this is August), and there were chunks of old meat with bugs all over it in the drain of the little bar sink (I wanted a glass of water with my breakfast). Juice machine was also broken (long enough that someone had put out a sign).
"Would stay again"
Very clean and up to date, beds were comfortable, looked like it had been recently remodeled. Breakfast could of had a little more selection. What they had was very good. The young man attending to breakfast was on the ball, except they did run out of forks Sunday.
"Quesha Makes You Feel Welcome"
We arrived here at 1:30 p.m. The man behind the desk asked if we wanted to check in early. We said that would be great because we wanted to leave our bags and go visit the downtown area before the evening baseball game. The man said we would be charged an extra $20 or wait until after 2:30; we decided to go to the nearby McDonald's. When we returned, the man was replaced by Quesha, who was so friendly and welcoming. She asked if we wanted a room on the 1st floor or upper floor and if we'd like to have a bottle of cold water. Quesha was fabulous!!! Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was nothing wrong with this hotel except for the unfriendly man we first encountered behind the desk. Breakfast consisted of the usual: egg omelet, bagels, waffles, etc.
"Never Again"
The only thing I can say good 9 year old supervisor; Joseph. He was extremely helpful and hardworking. Whole we were there a homeless man was walking around hotel harassing our girls and staff didn't do a thing!! place was dirty, i could go on and on but one thing is for sure Will NEVER ago back. prob the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I hope Joseph gets out of there!!!!
"A decent property let down by some serious setbacks"
Pros: Highway access, clean and comfortable guest rooms. Cons: Unfriendly customer service, lousy area, HVAC turns off after less than an hour. I didn't expect to spend so much time in my room but because I was suffering some kind of sudden illness, became well-acquainted with my living area. The room was spacious, everything appeared clean, the decor was pleasant, and the king bed was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately that's the extent of the praise I can offer this property. A quick turn off the highway gets you here, which is good because the area doesn't have much to offer. Restaurants and stores can be found in one direction, but reaching them requires a frustrating series of traffic lights. The other direction leads to a neighborhood that looks and feels rough and unsafe. Going to a Walgreen's with people loitering loudly in the parking lot wasn't what I needed when I felt as I did. The woman who checked me into my room had no personality- I was not acknowledged as a high-level Best Western Rewards member, and when I asked to be relocated to a room not facing the atrium (because of anticipated noise issues), was told no other rooms were available (despite the hotel appearing very empty). Checking out early in the morning meant waiting for someone to appear from the back office, saying as little as possible and not providing me an emailed copy of my receipt (despite my asking). I also didn't get the wake-up call I requested (good thing I was already awake and my phone's alarm was as reliable as always). Typically I'd recommend trying another property in the area but instead I'll suggest trying another area altogether,
"Dirty bathroom"
Sink and bathtub were dirty. Front desk informed was told no housekeepers were available. Did not offer to switch rooms. Cleaned tub and sink myself. Not what I expected on a weekend get away with my family
"Better to sleep in your car, in the ghetto with cash on your dash"
Rooms are dirty, staff is as useful as a braille speedometer. Hotel smells of weed, floors are sticky and you feel like you're going to be blessed if you ONLY get mugged. Had I not made the mistake of pre paying and being trapped in that fecal pool, I would have felt safer under a bridge. Avoid at all costs. Thank me later
"Not good"
The hotel is not in a nice area. The room is not well cleaned and worse of all we had someone smoking pot right outside our window and the smell was coming right into our room. Staff did not care about this. After we left I was billed with additional charges which I called about immediately and still have not received a call back from the manager. Fortunately it appears my charges were straightened out with what I can see online, but still no call. The front desk person was nice at least.
"Friendly and clean"
Hotel right off the freeway, driving home from winter in Florida. Check-in fast and service was good. Room was clean and up to date. Used the workout room, it was clean, equipment in working order. Breakfast choices slim but adequate.
"Very frustrating experience"
We arrived and waited almost 30 minutes just to check in as the only employee we could find in the building did not speak English. We tried calling the hotel number several times as we were standing in the lobby with no answer. A lady wearing jeans and a hoodie with no name tag came in, got behind the counter, and apologized and asked how long we had been waiting. The vending machine on the 4th floor does not work properly as it stole $3.25 from us. It would not refund the money or give the product we had paid for, so we had to leave and drive down the road to Hardee's at 11:15 pm. Our room had no microwave or refrigerator as the online reservation had stated. The front motion sensor sliding doors do not close at 10 as they are supposed to for safety. All the employees we have seen during our stay are wearing normal street clothes and no name tag/badge. We will definitely not be back as we do not feel safe here.
"nice renovation"
We have stayed at this Best Western in previous years & were quite pleased with the renovations to the hotel - both the lobby & rooms. It is much brighter (used to be rather dark). Our room was terrific - very functional & clean; new carpet. Bed comfortable. Good TV with a guide included in the channels. Nice showerhead. The full hot buffet breakfast was back & very good. I like the healthy options like oatmeal.
"Nice Hotel But Overpriced"
The Best Wester Plus at Pyramides in Indianapolis was goodei I had a 2 room suite. But found the prices charged for Friday and Saturday night a bit expensive at $170 per night plus taxes. The cost for Thursday was $116 plus taxes. The hotel was clean and the staff courteous. Breakfast was average nothing special, given the restrictions. The hotel had numerous signs posted saying wearing a mask was required, but saw numerous guests ignoring this request in all age groups. The bed pillows in my room had to be the softest pillows I have experienced in my life. So soft that they served no purpose! That was a big drawback to me. My room was spotless and the bathroom clean.
"Great Staff, Great place to stay!"
My room was clean, breakfast was amazing, the housekeepers (Dawn and Amanda) were friendly and helpful, got us extra towels as needed, the front desk lady (Nikki) was super friendly and helpful, fast check in process! This was a great stay overall and will be staying again!
"Absolutely Superb Customer Service"
This hotel was formerly the Pear Tree Inn, just recently purchased and renovated by Best Western. While this hotel is not fancy, it is clean and the staff are super helpful and friendly. I stayed here recently during the Indiana State Fair after my original reservation at the Hawthorne Suites was cancelled, unbeknownst to me, due to the property being sold to a real estate developer. I booked the Best Western on Expedia in the parking lot and walked into the lobby. My reservation was there and the receptionist was extremely understanding and comforting during my breakdown. The lobby and common areas were clean and well maintained, our room, while not huge, was comfortable and clean as well. We did have an issue with the t.v. programming, but was addressed by staff with one phone call. A small breakfast buffet was served each morning, of which we took advantage only twice due to early show times with livestock. There was a small outdoor pool, which was mostly clean and my grandsons loved. A limited number of pool toys were available for the kids and towels were provided. The one thing that will make this facility my choice for all future stays in Indianapolis for livestock shows was the attention and kindness demonstrated by two specific staff members. We loaded our pigs on Saturday evening and returned to the hotel late in the evening. Titus and Kameron happened to be outside when we pulled into the parking lot and immediately offered to get water for us to give to the pigs. They helped us feed and care for the pigs and advised they would keep an eye on our trailer during the night. While pigs in their parking lot may have been a novelty to them, their kindness and helpfulness will never be forgotten. Thank you so much for making what started out as a stressful ordeal into a very pleasant stay. You two specifically deserve this “5-star” rating!!
"Great customer Service"
Manager and front desk people responded to any questions promptly and courteously. Room was clean and updated. I stayed 12 nights as a result of family member being in St. Vincent's hospital. Everyone was kind and aware of my situation.
"Highly recommend."
I stayed here while my husband was a patient at St. Vincent hospital. Cameron and the staff were very helpful and caring during this stressful time. Also the room was clean the breakfast was very good. Would highly recommend it.
"Better than expected"
We arrived late,.. the customer service team who greeted us were kind and fun. The place was pretty nice and better than anticipated. The rooms were clean and had no odor for being a dog friendly hotel. Breakfast consisted of Jimmy Dean packaged biscuit and sausage, fruit and muffin. Rooms were quiet and pleasant. Sadly, the area where the hotel is located appears to be old and abandoned businesses. I mean, a Cracker Barrel restaurant sits right behind the hotel and it's empty. Cracker Barrel!! They are always a hopping busy restaurant! Also closed and abandoned is a Marathon gas station and several others. Covid must've been rough on this side of town. Go over I-465 and the scenery changes drastically. Overall, it's good. I'd stay here again.
"enjoyable stay"
Easy off expressway location with good curb appeal, safe looking and cheerful front desk workers by Jessica & co-worker The free Breakfast was excellent, even during these times of Covid-19. Excecellent shower = hot water with good pressure. .
"Very nice for an inexpensive stay!!!"
We are here right now for a baseball tournament. Hotel was just purchased by a different chain. Clean, friendly environment. Employees are WORKERS and very friendly! Special shout out to Cameron who went above and beyond to help us enjoy our time!
"Pear Tree Inn Indianapolis"
The location looks shabby, but the hotel looks as nice as it is. Probably because of the Covid, the rooms were not cleaned each day. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. The free breakfast was very good and filling. Walls, like most hotels, are thin.
"Recommend"
Clean and very comfortable Hotel . Employees are very friendly and smiles all around . I have been staying here for a while now , and everyday an employee passes me up and greets me in a way that makes me feel welcomed and like family . Benefit of Breakfast every morning is Rochelle very friendly attitude very to greet you. I would recommend this place to anyone , and I'd definitely would return to The pear tree inn.
"If you like the smell of marijuana, stay here"
This was the worst place I've ever stayed while traveling for kids/sports. My room smelled of marijuana. A friend was given this room and asked to move for the marijuana smell. They moved them and sprayed air freshener and then gave the room to us. When I tried to move, they had no place to put us. On top of that, they did not throw out the guest who was smoking marijuana in the hall. Worst experience ever.

"Clean/updated rooms with friendly staff"
Our stay was great! The wifi is poor and the bathroom was a little small....other than that everything was awesome. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast food and the bar in the evening were definite plusses.
