SureStay by Best Western Higginsville

We stopped while driving across the country after visiting family for the holidays. This was a case where looks can definitely be deceiving. The building may look older, but the inside was clean and recently renovated. Our room was an excellent price for what we got. The beds were among the comfiest of any hotel we've stayed at recently, and the room stayed cozy despite the extreme/exceptional cold spell while we were coming through. The staff were kind, and the hotel was pet friendly (with a reasonable pet fee). Hotel also had a nice breakfast spread, a big plus in such a small town. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping if you're looking for good accommodations at a great value.

Off I-70 - they have a bar/restaurant on premisis - I did not go. A McDonald's across the street. A few convenience stores - not much else in the area. Rooms on 1st floor in two buildings. Quiet and comfortanle. TV and internet worked well. The AC/Heat was a bit confusing for an old man - but it worked out. Very good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Would stay again if passing thriugh.

The SureStay is conveniently located east of Kansas City on I-70. It is nice to stay out of the city and have a quiet place to sleep. The room was clean and quiet. We were surprised to have a good breakfast in the morning with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy as well as the usual cereal, muffins and Belgian waffles.

This is the second time we stayed at Sure Stay by Best Western in Higginsville, MO. Not only is the front desk staff friendly, so was the other staff members cleaning rooms.. Our room is very clean and breakfast is delicious! Our room was very spacious!

At first glance I questioned the motel. Upon entering the facility it was very clean and nice decor. The bed was very comfortable. The Ice machine on my Floor was out of order, the door Handle did not close properly and the tv remote needed to be programmed.

Just an overnight stop in route to visit family. Well lit parking area across from hotel's entrance. Easy access off interstate. Hotel right beside a large Casey's gas station. Check-in was fast and easy. Room was clean and updated with desk, rolling chair, large TV (we did not use), sitting chair, and nice table when we walked in that was great to have my luggage open and not on floor. Slight cleaning smell but no smell of smoke or pets. A/C unit quickly cooled the room and provided enough white noise that we had no other sounds disturbing us. Queen beds were comfortable and had 4 pillows each but we travel with our own pillows so unsure of their comfort. Room had a cold dorm size fridge, microwave, and mini coffee maker. Bathroom was clean and had nice fluffy towels. Shower head and water pressure were great. Free breakfast had a good selection…scrambled eggs, sausage patty's, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal packets, bread, bagels, apples, muffins, waffle maker, yogurt, 2 kinds of cereal, whole milk, juice, and coffee. Staff friendly! Hotel is older and kind of looks like a old 1 story motel with inside room access but they have done a nice job updating and the most important thing was that it was very clean and we got a good nights sleep. Would stay here again!

Overcharged pet fee. Extreme stink in room. There is a front and back in this property, back is old run down and rooms are stink city. There is a bar on premises that's okay. The breakfast has old stale even moldy food.

Very clean room and common areas, courteous and professional staff, good quality breakfast. I recommend this hotel. Easy access from I-70 with well lit parking. Room furniture new and of good quality. It is clear they take pride in their business.

This hotel is quite a find! Super friendly and helpful staff, refurbished rooms, free full breakfast, and extremely affordable! I will definitely be staying here each and every time I travel trough the area.

It was clean enough for a one night stay. Happy it wasn't gross, but it could use some tlc. The room fridge seemed as though it was going to tip over whenever it was opened. Hotel carpets are always nasty. Breakfast wasn't bad. Scrambled eggs with sausage, biscuits and gravy if you wanted it. Waffles, cold cereal, and yogurt.

Solo trip for myself and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a nights stay. Very reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Cold A/C. Hot water. Comfy beds and pillows. Could not hear the people in the rooms around us! Great nights sleep. Delicious REAL hot breakfast!

Hotel staff was friendly. Had the absolute best bed. The shower was only so so. Showerheads definitely need some updating. The bathroom floor was very warm which was quite nice I suspect there might have been a furnace or something directly under my room.

We rented three rooms to accommodate a young man, a female with mild disability and elderly mother. The rooms were clean, comfortable and all staff very courteous. No noise from other guests or road. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast.

Headed to Kansas City with family and had to stop off due to ice storm in KC. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good availability. Older motel but recently renovated. Very clean! Very quiet. And again, all staff at check in, breakfast, and check out were friendly, polite, and helpful. Very thankful for last minute availability and the cleanliness and quiet.

Very impressed with the facility. Rooms have been updated with appealing décor. Our room, hallway, lobby, breakfast area were all CLEAN. That is my #1 priority when staying in a hotel. The staff members that we met were courteous and friendly. The breakfast was typical hotel food. SureStay had a nice variety. I'd stay there again!

Passing though on Int. 70 - not much at the exit. There is a McDonald's. If you are looking for a meal - stop and eat before checking in. Large, comfortable room. Very clean. Everything worked well. It was updated. The beds are very high - if you are a short person - you have to be able to jump!! (The bed was very comfortable!!)

Clean, quiet hotel, lots of space to put things, plenty of towels, phone chargers, good counter space in bathroom, internet worked well, had everything we needed. Seems newly remodeled. Next to highway and gas station. Very convenient location.

This hotel will charge your credit card for “incidentals” plus whatever else they want to, without explanation. I've been trying to get a response from them for weeks and they will not return my calls. I don't know why they charged my card for the “incidentals” as there were none during my one night stay. Not do I know why they processed an additional charge at 4:00am (I receive immediate notification when my card is used). I was told by the front desk both charges were just pending charges and would drop off. She had no idea what the charge at 4am was for. I can't get any information from them. I contacted the corporate HQ and still no response. They are crooks and I will never stay at a SureStay or Best Western again!

Nice room, good breakfast, very good people..... I'm a woman traveling alone and felt safe. The rooms looked new and clean, I would stay here again, thank you so much for a good night's sleep and wonderful hospitality

If all you need is a place to shower and sleep, this motel will fill your bill. Internet is reliable and strong so you can go on-line if needed. They have a good free breakfast, which includes scrambled eggs - my all-time fave! Service is very good. Going from the office to your room can be a little screwy, and the TV didn't work well - but those are minor beefs. Definitely a good, maybe great, place for Road Warriors.

Extraordinarily excellent staff! Great room and overall facility. Pool was very nice and breakfast was one of the best we have had at any hotel. The staff was very helpful during my medical emergency. We will definitely stay here again.

The room cleanliness was ok, could be dusted and bathroom floor mopped a bit better. Saturday manager was super nice and helpful. We had an issue with finding a fish hook hooked to a pillow case, wasn't sure how that happened. Sunday morning check out lady did not seem as concerned about it as I felt she should of been. Breakfast is small but ok, at least there is something. It was a quite stay. I could maybe stay here again if ever in the area again for the price we paid.

Nice clean, quiet place to get some rest. Friendly faces and attitudes checking you in and checking out. Rooms are clean, quiet, and up to date. Beds were comfortable and AC/ Heater was efficient and quiet. A must stay hotel if you pass by this area!

The check-in clerk was polite. He stated the manager upgraded our single Queen to a double Queen, no explanation. Probably for their convenience. I feel like a King would have been an upgrade, this was just a different room. It was quiet. The bed and bath were fine. Plenty of outlets for devices. Good size room. The fridge, we discovered too late, did not keep our dinner leftovers cool. Breakfast was cold and tasteless. The coffee was fine but only one powdered creamer was offered. Nothing flavored. The teabags were unwrapped, so that was a NO for me. The eggs, sausage and gravy were cold. Many more misses at breakfast, but I don't want to sound picky. The DIY waffle was fine. Shared syrup and milk containers. Ice machine broken. I just expected better per reviews.

Very clean place with recent renovations that make the place look new. The breakfast items could have been fresher, but they do have waffles you can make. The front desk manager was very helpful at check in.

Chose this after a long day of driving and pretty much this or two other less expensive properties. The other two weren't franchised properties so we opted for this property since we've been pretty happy with Best Western for our 2022 travels. This was a very sketchy property from the outside; the exterior was old and dated with a broken down motor home in the adjacent lot. The hallway to the room was narrow with low ceilings. It was a very weird feeling. The room Wasn't bad, the bed was quite high off the ground. They tried to make it look updated but the ceiling had a Big stain and then the bathroom had ants! On the counter and on the floor. We were so exhausted and didn't feel like hailing all of our stuff to another room. The young lady at the front desk happened to have any spray, so my poor, exhausted hubby had to spray the bathroom for ants. YUCK! The coffee at breadsticks wasn't bad but there wasn't any cream. Luckily we've been traveling enough to know to travel with cream. We attempted to have breakfast and it was a mess. Donuts that looked like they were from a day or two before and either refrigerated or frozen because the icing was liquified. NO MILK…the hostess announced that the last guest ‘DRANK IT ALL!' meanwhile, there's a small market a couple hundred feet from their building. I returned the ant spray, dropped off the key and was t asked anything about our stay. How are the BW properties so drastically different?!?

Exquisite cleanliness...and super attentive staff...if you are not enamored with an "in-house bar, restaurant, etc."...and state of the art facilities....you've found it....and at an extremely wonderful rate.

Don't let the cheap price and the single floor scare you. Very nice, updated simple room. Very clean, friendly staff. I've stayed in a lot worse for way more money. Very good bang for the buck, would highly recommend for the traveler that just needs a clean room with a comfortable bed at a affordable price.

We needed a pet friendly place to stay on our way to Denver and found the rates to be way more reasonable than that of Kansas City. Very convenient location right off the highway although dining options are limited to just travel centers.

Stopped here late at night driving across county. Everyone was super friendly. Room was very clean. Breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again. I was very pleasantly surprised how nice it was

I am going to all the baseball parks as bucket list and Kansas City was one I needed to check off. This hotel was perfect. It was less than an hour from Kansas City and right off of 1-70. Easy off and on. The hotel was clean, the staff was great, and the price was right for what I needed which was a bed for the night. I was surprised as close as it was to the highway it was very quite. The guest were quite too. I would recommend if you need a stop over and want a clean / safe place. I was traveling by myself and did not feel uncomfortable at all.

First time writing a negative review for a hotel. 1. Bed was caved in. You can see how bad by looking at it. Worst bed I have ever slept in. 2. HUGE spider in shower/tub. And my husband had a spider crawling on his sneaker. 3. Website says breakfast served 6-9 am… told no breakfast until 7 am. Would not recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff, clean, pet friendly. Easy on/off highway. This is apparently part of a new ‘basic' Best Western line but was ok for a night's sleep on the road. However major security concerns: Door to the room wing was never locked, even late at night. Room security was a very old chain lock and a wedge of wood (primitive but effective). If we hadn't had a dog who is a good watchdog with us we would have left

I would recommend this hotel. Our stay was always wonderful. Puja and her staff became like family to us. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The rooms are clean and well kept. Any problems you have they address them immediately. The food, hot food hot and cold food cold. We were always met with a smile and conversation by Rosie. The hotel is right off highway 70. My son and his family was here for Memorial Day and guess where I booked them? Best Western Sure Stay You will not go wrong staying there. I would recommend to my family and friends. Excellent customer service. I know because I'm an expert in customer service!

If I could give this place 10 or more stars I would. Pet friendly, comfortable beds, incredibly clean and the staff is nothing short of amazing! It's right off highway 70 and within a very short distance of many different restaurants. Take my word for it. You cannot go wrong with this place!

We're so glad we stayed here after a return trip back to Tennessee. After a negative experience trying to find a good, clean hotel in Columbia, MO previously, this Surestay Hotel was a godsend. I appreciate the Manager's special help and friendliness! I wish the manager and her staff best wishes!

Our stay was horrible! My children found drugs in our room, they had found crack and crack pipes and the manager switched our rooms and made us feel like our opinions and children's safety wasn't her concern. She kept comparing our children to how she raised her there so if it was good enough for hers it was good enough for my kids.

After a long drive, the personal care that this hotel gives to their guests is refreshing and comforting. They make sure the rooms are ready (an in this case in the winter they had the heat turned on in anticipation of arrival) Their rooms are large and clean. The hotel is easily accessible from the interstate making it very convenient.

Don't stay here even the cheapest hotel chain is better than this place. FThe first room I was put in the door wouldn't lock or even stay closed. She moved me to another room which wasn't much better. Words can't describe how crappy this place truly is. I'll look for another hotel tomorrow. Glad only here 2 days or I would just walk away. It looks run down because it is, the rooms are really small and has nothing but the bed. The TV was a feat in itself to get to work. Don't expect any privacy here either as there are no do not disturb signs for the door. Truthfully don't feel safe here it's not a good place, perhaps if you're a local using the room by the hour it's fine but not to stay here for any length of time. The lady at the desk was super nice and did her best to help which I appreciated but one just can't make this place good to stay at. This is supposed to be a Best Western properly and I took a bunch of pictures inside and out to send to them so they may also see how crappy this place truly is. The pool is closed too with a fence around it. I could go on and on about this place, do yourself a favor and go to another hotel.

This was a last minute stay for us as we were tired decided to sleep instead of continuing driving. We have been happy with the Best Western properties, but I am not as impressed with the Sure Stay Brand. The positive things were that the room was quiet and looked like it had been remodeled and was easy to get to off the highway. The biggest frustration was not realizing the heat was not automatic and needed to be turned on since the beds only had a light sheet and a lightweight comforter. There were no blankets on the bed which made for a cold night. The breakfast was served to us and consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, apples, donut, juice & coffee. No milk was available. Six people are allowed to eat in the dining room at a time. It was an ok hotel for a quick night's rest for a trucker, but if you are planning to spend more time there, there might be better options at a better price.

The Higginsville SureStay was easy to find, the staff were all very welcoming and the hotel was well cared for. I was surprised to find a hot breakfast in the morning as many hotels have stopped offering them in times of Covid.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms easy to access and they were clean, beds comfortable. Microwave, refrigerator & coffee maker in room. Conveniently located off of interstate with a gas station and convenience store right next door.

This was one of the nicest, cleanest, and friendliest places we stayed on our trip! Would highly recommend this hotel! Staff was very helpful, rooms were comfy and clean, and location was very accessible ... easy off and back on the highway!

It is getting harder to find a hotel that is maintained, clean, and staffed with a competent staff. Overall my husband and I felt "Sure Stay by Best Western" in Higginsville accomplished all of those. We also returned to Sure Stay on our way back home too.

This is a very cozy hotel. I love that it's right off the highway but cant hier the traffic from it. I always get treated with kindness and respect from everyone there. They have great beds super thick matresses and good pillows. The room was very clean and lots of chanels on the tv. And great water presure in the shower.

I have never stayed in such a dirty motel: room, eating area, sitting area, and entrances all lacking in any recent cleaning. Refrigerator was iced over and had a large brown mound in it, toilet water was pink, shower had muddy or bloody finger streaks in it, dust and grime on all hard surfaces.Glad we had cleaning supplies with us to at least have some semblance of hygiene. The star ratings for cleanliness are false: 1 star minimum only because bed appeared clean. If there had been another choice, we would not have spent the night there. It should not be associated with Best Western.

Stayed here on a Monday night. The hotel is quite old, but parts of it have been updated. My room was in good shape, much better than the common areas of the hotel. Bed was great, internet was good, TV was very good. Reception staff were pretty sterile, just glad they would deem to talk to me. Breakfast was average at best, not many staying at hotel and they barely had food for residents. Not a cheap place.

The location is great since you have restaurants close by your room. You might need to do is go somewhere for hot breakfast menu items. The staff was friendly for arrival and departure so that made use comfortable to stay there on our Christmas trip.

Very clean and nice rooms. price was decent and the staff was very nice. The location was very easy to get to and was well lit and safe. I would recommend this to any of my friends and family. Good place to stay.

We were visiting family and friends in a near by town. We were able to spend the entire afternoon and evening with family and friends but looked forward to coming back to the motel for a very relaxing bath and sleep. We felt right at home and enjoyed the entire experience before coming home.

I stayed here one week in July 2019 for business and this hotel exceeded my expectations. My room was very clean, had a super comfy bed, and the friendly hotel staff seemed genuinely concerned that I was having a pleasant stay. If I have to work in this area again, I will be staying here.

We come to MO with three other couples to buy peaches in the area. Management is friendly and helpful. Stayed here last year and like it so stayed this year too. Next year it will be our place to stay again. Very clean, comfortable beds, fast internet! Breakfast had all we needed and quality was great. Recommend to everyone who needs a reasonably priced, clean, and comfortable place to stay!

Add it last Kansas City...too tired to get to Columbia. Moderate price, nice Indian family refreshing a large, odd, outdated motel. Clientele mostly truckers. Room was clean and fine, but this is a sows ear. Breakfast was pretty rudimentary.

My two boys stayed one night here after a KC Royals game, on our way back to Florida. I would recommend this SureStay to anyone traveling through the area needing a stopping point for the night. The manager Puja was so delightful. She was very welcoming and and very sweet. She wants to please the guests and she truly believes in the Best Western brand. The hotel is newly renovated and very clean. Breakfast was definitely more than expected for this class of hotel. Even though it is fairly close to the interstate and a truck stop/gas station there was almost zero exterior noise heard inside our room. The beds are super-comfy. Even my 2 sons said this was the best hotel we stayed at over our week long vacation. Just an overall great stay and experience!

I was looking for a place to stay while traveling to Saint Louis, and I came across this place. It was a clean facility with friendly staff and an amazing location, right off the interstate. All in all, if I ever come through this area again, I will be staying.

Traveling across I-70, needed a place to stay and after checking reviews & prices... stopped here at SureStay. Looking at the outside, we were unsure but people were friendly & there was a sign inside lobby stating they're in the process of updating. Our room was clean & updated. Beds were a bit soft for our personal taste but very nice. The owners/managers were very nice & prompt to get extra towels. Good value compared to a few miles down the road closer to Kansas City....

Staff at hotel did everything possible to make our stay pleasant. This is a decent spot to stop for a one night stay if travelling across country. Pet policy is in place with a very reasonable charge. The room was very clean. You can tell the hotel is trying to upgrade it's rooms and appearance. Breakfast is pretty slim but more than adequate.

This hotel is a solid place. If you dont expect to be staying at a 5 star hotel. There is some work going on but not near rooms. Lots of TV options and nice king size bed. Friendly staff and okay breakfast.

We arrived after a 9 hour drive. Very friendly and helpful staff. In the midst of reconstruction and so far, so good with hints of improvements to follow. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Our only problem is that the roofing material was loose, so it made noise all night in the wind, but that is something that can be fixed. The breakfast is adequate, but nothing special.

I am traveling back to Florida from Nebraska when I pulled off the interstate to get coffee at a Casey's I was planning on getting a hotel up the road a bit when I saw surestay and decided to try it out The first thing that I noticed was the fact that the staff are friendly helpful and polite the room is clean and fresh and I will definitely stop here again a great hotel a great price and a tremendous staff with a room that's a lot cleaner than the Holiday inn express I stayed in two nights ago

It was winter and they had the heat turned off in the room. It was so cold that ice had formed on the wall and floor by the heater. The breakfast was lacking as at 8:00 a.m they did not have any of the warm food out. They offered to get some warm food and told me they did not make any as there were not many guest.

The staff at check in was very friendly, there are limited food options within walking distance. This is a no frills hotel, it was comfortable and clean. Did not use the wifi or complimentary breakfast, so cannot give any feedback on thise services. Would stay again.

It's pretty tired. No cold water. When's the last time you heard that? Breakfast is skimpy. TV didn't work. People are friendly and room was clean. Doing construction but that's not what makes it average.

Warrensburg is extremely high priced so I stayed in this hotel. I have stayed in many hotels because I travel a lot with my job and this was better than any fancy hotel I've stayed at. Amazing people run this hotel. Extremely friendly. Thank you guys for your hospitality.

Excellent experience and stay.We stayed at this hotel because her daughter was going to college in Warrensburg Missouri. It is right off of Highway 70 so it is approximately 13 miles away from the college but the price was excellent the hotel had just Been renovated. This included fresh paint fresh clean rowels and traditional amenities and facilities and clean excellent condition. This hotel is a great bargain compared to what you may pay closer to the college in Warrensburg.

Not sure what's going on with this place, but was surprised to see their prices when you walk in are about $25 higher than their advertising. That being said, it was mostly good. Room was dpacious snd mostly clean except for a nasty shower curtain. It was severely soiled probably by a contract worker, should've been laundered. It was pretty quiet except for another guest's yapping dog. The room had all the usual stuff: iron, hair drier, fridge, microwave. I was put at the back of the building, but the back door was damaged so badly the card reader on the door was useless. Anyone can walk right in.

stopped for overnight stay while cross country trip. Got way better room that what I anticipated. Neat clean room, great bed, fresh paint and quiet and cozy place. Breakfast was amazing in the morning. Very pleasant staff who went beyond her way to help a me. Highly recommended for excellent service, neat and clean room with great bed. Good deal for money I paid.

We stopped here for one night on a cross country trip. The lady working the front desk was very pleasant and sweet. They are renovating the hotel, and the room we stayed in had just been renovated. It was very clean and quite, with a comfortable bed. Perfect for what we needed. At checkout, we were even asked if we had any suggestions to make the hotel better, which tells me they really care about being a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend for a good night's sleep!

all 3 of us friends were tired and saw the hotel right across the gas station. Checked the room before renting and wow, the hotel seemed new. rooms looked great and sharp. Lady at the front desk was phenomenal in customer service. Will rate her higher than 5 if I could. Hotel breakfast in morning was a great start to day. They had biscuits, gravy, eggs and sausage patty's. The pictures on trip advisor are old and will highly recommend anyone to go and check this place out. It was a perfect 8 hours stop from our denver area starting location. this will be place we stop again when passing through on Interstate 70.
