Perfect place to stop along the road. Full prepared breakfast was one of the best with scrambled eggs , sausage , gravy , toast , waffles , apple and orange juice, assorted pastries , and some other things Room was exceptionally clean and bed very comfortable. Accessible shower was one of the best also. Highly recommended.
We were pleased with the room. Nice size and furnishings. Refrigerator, coffee and microwave in room. Great sleeping experience as the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good except coffee was so thin you could barley taste it. Bring your room coffee!
The beds are very comfortable, the pillows are fluffy. The entire facility is clean and looks brand new. The breakfast was very tasty and the waffles were absolutely amazing. David, the manager, picked us up as our vehicle broke down nearby on the side of the road. David helped us with recommendations for an auto repair shop, a towing company and places to eat. David truly made us feel comfortable during a highly stressful broken down truck situation.
Thank you for taking me in last minute for 4th of July celebration. Hotel was clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Heber does a great celebration for 4th of July.
SCAM- we were set up in a room that smelled like smoke and we are non smokers. When we checked out we were charged for smoke in the room- again we are non smokers! We were notified of the $250 charge by a phone call from an unlisted number not even the hotel. When we called to inquire about the charge and alert them to the fact we ae non smokers and it was not possible -we were hung up on and threatened by the owner David himself. He said it was his HOME and he could do what he wanted. Subsequently he has not returned or answered any communication from us to resolve the issue. We also need to mention the condition of the room was awful. It was dirty, with sand in one of the beds, refrigerator did not work, air conditioner was sooo loud and did not work, no continental breakfast as advertised, WiFi did not work, and even saw bugs in the bed mattress. Absolutely Disgusting Place!!!! Then to be fraudulently charged on top of this is appalling!! DO NOT STAY HERE
Very happy with the cleanliness of the room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very quiet and peaceful.
I want to leave a review because the gentleman at the check in and the person cleaning rooms were so accommodating, helpful, and kind I was blown away. I just never get that level of service anywhere so I want them to be recognized. Everything was perfect I 100% will stay at Best Western again.
For what it cost to stay it is priced as a newer hotel but is kept like a $49 a night motel 6 I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you are desperate for a bad nights sleep in a bed that you can feel the springs in.
I spent four nights at the Sawmill Inn in Heber Arizona and it was the best. The room was very clean and was loaded with amenities. The complimentary breakfast was very good with lots of different options to choose from. the staff was very helpful including the owner Dave and the person who took my reservation and checked me in,Vedant was so nice and was always smiling.
Friendly staff, clean well maintained, well furnished room, ample parking, decent breakfast provided, clean breakfast room., ample linen provided. As with most motels of the day they do not provide daily housekeeping but do provide housekeeping on a request basis.
Clean motel room and friendly front desk help, but way over-priced. Lots of highway noise. Room was clean, grounds were well kept. Offered complimentary breakfast but we skipped to be on our way early.
The rooms were pretty clean and updated. Super thankful the only hotel was clean and nice. One room had all hard floors and felt like it needed to be mopped but everything else seemed clean. The manager is just awesome and really worked with me and went above and beyond to make sure I had a place to stay since they were super packed!
Clean & spacious room, comfortable bed, not too noisy. The only issue was that while we had the window open (on the 2nd floor) to allow for fresh air, someone was right outside smoking marijuana, of course forcing us to close the window to our fresh air. Too bad for disrespectful people.
The hotel had really comfortable beds and our room was very clean. Breakfast was fine- typical fare for this price point. The staff was friendly and the hotel is in a great location. We would stay here again.
The hotel staff was very friendly and professional upon arrival. We felt safe, and the rooms were clean. They went out of their way to accommodate us, and we will definitely stay there again when traveling through.
We typically do not have issues with Hotels, ie BW. Booking and Check in was pretty easy, but our stay was fell below standards. There was no soap in the dispensers, and no soaps/loations on the sink. Management said they had two checkers, but if it happened, they both failed. Recommend getting a top floor. We were awakend by someone walking around at 3 AM, getting ready to leave. Wife also commented you could hear everyting going on outside the room. At 6:15AM, the front door to the hotel was still locked. We decided not to wait or for the breakfest at 7:00AM Sunday.
The Sawmill Inn is an ideal place to explore the Heber/Overgard area and surrounding National Forest. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the price was fair. We will definitely be heading back to the Sawmill Inn.
This wonderful place doesn't need anymore five-star reviews, but some specifics about disability travel might be helpful. When I spoke with the front desk, they offered either handicap tub or shower (if the term “handicap” is an outdated term, I apologize). My disability is from a broken back and hip. I can walk very short distances with my cane. I preferred a shower and hoped that there was a seat because I was told there was no pull-down bench. The seating in room 104 is a bench that can also be used to transfer from a wheelchair, which was great. My only complaint is that the front-desk person didn't understand that I was requesting a bench, pull-down or not, so a little training in that area would be appreciated. The bathroom was roomy so good for a wheelchair. I was able to walk from room 104 to the front desk (I'll guess 200-300 feet), and there were two handicap parking spots directly in front of my door. Because I can drive, I would be able to travel to this motel alone, though this time I came with people who helped me. In general, for a motel in a small town on the beautiful Mogollon Rim, it's perfect. Very clean, comfortable king bed, microwave and half fridge. Friendly and efficient front staff. Typical breakfast offerings. I think I missed the eggs because I showed up at almost 9 am. Small complaint that there was no decaf coffee available. No k-cup in the room. I made do with a cup of hot water and a few splashes of apple juice to make hot apple cider. If you have trouble getting around like I do, I suggest you bring your own water. The Red Onion just down the road makes amazing burgers.
Had to argue with the front desk to get my free room upgrade after moving into a room that only had one king. I needed either 2 queens or a king with a sofa pull out and tried with the front desk to change. Was on a hunting trip and my son was coming to join me. They finally honored it and I was put in the front of the building, upstairs room with plenty of highway noise during the night. Had air in the waterlines so the water would spit at you as well, and took several minutes to clear up, The issue would return after being shut off for a while. Stayed here last year and staff seemed very happy to see you after all the covid complications. This year, staff/owners were not so friendly. Probably not going to stay here again.
We have driven thru Heber-Overgaard AZ dozens of times during the last 15-years en route to our vacation home & always wished we stayed overnight there & at Best Western Sawmill Inn! This time we did stay there and now realize that which we've missed during this time. This is the nicest town, Inn & David/family on the planet! What a find! Stay there however just don't tell too many people given it is a gem & we want it to remain that way! We've already booked our return stay there for 30-days from now! David thank you for whom you are, your family & wonderful Inn to stay in as our home away from home! See you soon!!!
Dave took good care of us as always. Give us a discount for repeat customer. Quick check-in a lot of new renovation done from my last day. Pretty close to my wife's family. Excellent weather next day the breakfast made my day
We stayed here on two separate occasions on the same week helping move our son to his new residence. This Best Western is very well managed. What makes this hotel stand out over the many other hotels we have stayed at was the exceptional customer service. Everyone was outgoing and personable. I have never seen such a hard-working manager than the guy managing this motel. For this being a small town, the room was large with nice decor a large tv and was spotless and quiet. Nice breakfast hosted by the manager. Looking forward to our next visit.
The property was very clean. The manager was extremely helpful. While we were there, they were cleaning the ice machine, which they do regularly. Not something most hotels do very often. The beds were comfortable and the hotel is located near some good restaurants
We hit a huge pothole and luckily were close to Heber so we could get help with the car . We have stayed in Heber many times in past years and knew the BW was where we wanted to stay while a new tire was on order, luckily we could walk there. We were there for two days with no car so we got to know the place well. It's not a fancy place but it's very comfortable and the people are very nice and so helpful and accommodating. This is definitely the place to stay in Heber.

It was snowing so we needed a port in the storm quickly. We were lucky enough to find the BW Sawmill Inn. It was a little higher priced than the internet but we were sitting outside in the parking lot so I didn't bother. For $20 extra $$$'s I felt happy to find a room. The place was clean and looked well kept. The manager was really nice. The continental breakfast, well what can I say, it was a continental breakfast. All in all it was a good nights stay! Thanks BW!
BW seem to fit us well when we travel with our large dog. This fit our needs for one night. Newly renovated but still had some finishing touches to complete in the bathroom. Might have offered continental breakfast but office closed up tight until 7 am so did not fit in our schedule.
Check-in process was pretty easy. Restaurant recommendation was excellent. Rooms are very clean friendly staff. Internet worked very well biggest reason for my stay. They weren't busy so my stay was very quiet which is a plus. Breakfast biscuit gravy was excellent
If you have an opportunity to stay in Heber, AZ, please consider the Sawmill Inn. We had a great stay there recently. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are squeaky clean, as are the linens (something that is super important to me). The complimentary breakfast is tasty, a great way to start your day of adventure. You won't be disappointed.
Best stay ever great staff great rooms loved it hear quiet great breakfast nice bed tv was nice cable Wi-Fi I loved it here I enjoyed how clean the rooms were the staff were so kind and nice free local calls
One of my regular stop every year. For last 6 years I've been stopping at this hotel and something new renovated each time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. As always they serve good breakfast, my favorite biscuits and gravy.
There are better hotels in the area, look for another, we spent the night of December 29-30 in this hotel, the hotel is not bad, but the beds were used by other guests before us and cm. This issue of covid because you have to be careful I went to the reception to have my sheets changed but no one opened the door for me, the rest in the room was apparently quite clean, the next day I went to the reception to ask for breakfast and I The man at the hotel reception says at 8:30 that in a while they were going to put breakfast on a table that they have in the hotel lobby but it never happened, not before most of the hotel guests left, I think they do it on purpose, the reality is that we could never have a coffee before hitting the road I leave you photos of the breakfast table and the lobby that by the way was quite messy, well it was horrible nothing to do with the images what did they leave on the internet
This was a great place to stay ….friendly staff ..very nice rooms…great restaurant close bye….the front office / owner was excellent and very helpful…certainly recommend to others and we will be back again..
We were in downstairs room 114 at the end of the motel. Parking has nice wide slots so no worry about door dings. The room was very big and clean with refrigerator, microwave, big screen TV and the best part was the handicap heigth toilets. Breakfast was choice of sausage and bisquits, scrambled egg breakfast burritos and then the usual muffing, rolls etc. The kitchen was closed but the front desk person would take your order and then bring it to you in the lobby. The only negative was what seemed like no sound insulation in the ceiling as we could hear the upstairs room occupants and their dog walking back and forth and the very noisy people going up and down the outside stairs.
Long time native of AZ and passed hotel many times, but finally had a chance to stay and was absolutely impressed. Great location and easy drive to many lakes, and nearby small town charm. David the hotel manager, was excellent, made sure we had everything we needed, breakfast, phone charger (I had forgot mine) and super clean room. Will be back for sure. *Also recommend "June's Cafe" less than a mile east of hotel. Great home type cooking. Cheers Rob and Rose
The room was spotless and I am extremely picky when it comes to that aspect! Bed was very comfortable and pillows were nice and fluffy. Air conditioning worked well. To go breakfast was great and I appreciated the options and the extra effort the hotel went to in order to minimize possible covid exposure. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again.
First time staying here. Very glad I did. David Bhakta runs a well-managed hotel. Excellence is a top-down affair. And Dave sets the example. He is a very conscientious and personable manager. The entire staff is friendly and helpful, too. Everyone from Diane at the front desk to Mira, Jennifer and Rose on the housekeeping staff. Very clean and comfortable hotel. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the two nights we spent. This is now our go-to place in Heber! Thank you, Dave and Best Western.
The morning after a one nite stay, there was banging on the door 9;30am. The manager was requesting to clean the room.. [even though the checkout time is 11 am.. Then came the check out.. he charges us $106 for PET FEE. [pet fee is $35].. Then later said "its a penalty charge". Then later said, it was a 'discounted damage fee'.. saying there was "$250 damage".., We asked for pictures, as evidence.. None.. There was no damage... we have pictures.. And the case is continuing... So... Beware this guy!! He'll find any angle to rip you off.. Be forewarned!!
Stayed in Heber at the Best Western while my poor dog recovered from an illness. Staff was very friendly, accommodating of changes I had to make on the fly. I was very pleased with this property, and would recommend to anyone traveling through.
We had over 20 people staying here as part of HOG motorcycle group; we were well served by Dave and staff. From accommodating our entire group, to offering personalized taxi service to a local restaurant, to the custom-ordered breakfast served on the patio (as the dining room was closed), the stay was very enjoyable. Highly recommend, based on the service received.
Great place to stay, quiet, very clean, very comfortable rooms. That's all generally expected. What wasn't expected was the level of service. The owner went WAY OVER the top withe the breakfasts, providing a place for an evening and morning meeting place, gave us small towels for cleaning off our windshields, all the time smiling, and helping us find the restaurant, and get to the restaurant. This place should be FILLED EVERY NIGHT! Great place to stay, and would look forward to doing it again. THE PLACE to stay in Heber.
Knowing there weren't a lot of alternatives in the Heber area, I was a bit nervous staying here. However, upon arrival, my daughter and I were pleasantly surprised to find a clean, refurbished property that I would be willing to stay in any time when passing through town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only detractor for an older or disabled individual might be the absence of an elevator to the second floor (at least I didn't see one). Had to use external staircase which was fine, but some may want to request first floor for this reason. Overall, a surprisingly positive experience. Someone has clearly invested a lot of time, energy and resources to refurbish this property to provide a very favorable experience.
David took amazing care of my wedding party and all of my guests! Thank you so much for make our wedding weekend so outstanding!! Most defiantly the best weekend in heber! We will see everyone soon!!!
Clean place. Easiest, quickest check-in I've had in awhile compared to other places. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely one of the better places to stay in the area. will be staying here again if my work has me in the area.
The hotel is nice. They are clearly going through some renovations on the property, as evidenced by the boxes of new toilets in front of the hotel. Our room was clean, but very ordinary. The hotel is pet-friendly, which was a must for us. The lobby had all the furniture overturned and enclosed in plastic, I guess due to Covid. The room has two queen beds, which were comfortable enough. We did not stay for breakfast.
Rooms were very clean and sanitized. Staff were really helpful. This was first outing after a year due to pandemic and thankfully this Best Western in Heber was really good. To go breakfast was nice as well.
We were traveling from the Phx area back to WI and my wife had a medical emergency coming up through the mountains; we stopped in and started checking for help and Dave called the walkin clinic just up the road (they were not as accommodating), he also told us about the local Pharmacy (which also was very helpful with medicines) The Best Western Sawmill Inn in Heber was very nice and clean with great staff also. My wife is doing fine! Thanks Dave! Kim and Deb Gretz
We spent a long day on the road, arriving at the Best Western as the last bit of daylight disappeared. We have passed this hotel numerous times driving to and from Phoenix, and this time my wife wanted to try it. We were not disappointed. The room was clean, the place was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was good. We didn't really need anything else. I can't speak to breakfast, since we were in a hurry to see our granddaughter, but overall, we liked the place, and would be willing to stay there again.
My daughter and husband stayed here and it was ok! I definitely stayed in way nicer BW for less then what I was charged here. First off, I think guest should be told If they are under construction bc from my experience, I'd rather stay somewhere else bc of the construction it's just a mess everywhere. Trash and just looked really gross and very horribly kept. Like no cleaning is done properly and they didn't know how to clean up or didn't know where the trash went. I really hope they start to clean it up bc this place could be nice just wasn't when I stayed. But more, they allow smoking ugh I hate the smell of smoke. I smelt whoever else was chain smoking through the vents and it was overwhelming. Room was ok but not very clean. But I guess this is better then the other hotels in the area... lol ok. Well maybe I'll just camp out next time. Def wouldn't stay again bc of the smoking number one. I think I said enough. Not my type of place even tho I LOVE BWs
If you want a good night's sleep don't stay here. It seems they rent out rooms to workers who clomp around up and down the stairs and then start their louds trucks right outside your window and let them run. Rude!!! Not just one but many
I spent a night on a road trip in this hotel and loved everything about it. The manager was very personable and professional and assisted me cheerfully with a late check in. The hotel was spotless and welcoming and the rooms were spacious, inviting and super clean. Great night's rest and I felt extremely safe and comfortable as a solo traveler with a dog.
Where do I begin, scrambles eggs were hard. They wouldn't brake apart at all. How or where do you get bacon so thin? The Juice was water with a hint of orange. For $145.00 a night I would expect more from this place. No pool or jacuzzi either.. I would expect to pay $80 a night here. I am so upset I spent my anniversary at this location. I feel like I got cheated.
Very quiet area, couldn't even tell if anyone else was staying there other than a couple cars in the parking lot. Only down side is a later start for breakfast (700) so I didn't get to see what they had since I was in a rush to hit the road. Room was very roomy even having a small dining room table in addition to standard desk and dressers.
Every year I have stayed here on my way through Heber. They are very nice folks and will do almost anything to make you re stay the best they have to offer! Dave has even offered me a ride to and from the Red Onion! You know 1 to many beers! I travel with my pets and the rooms have always been clean and in order.
Great little Hotel conveniently located off 260. Clean, Comfortable, Convenient to Fishing, Hiking, or just passing through. We got stranded in a snow storm and this was the first hotel we came across. Good choice!
Nice and clean Staff was friendly and helpful. Booked us into an occupied room but quickly corrected Guest was supposed to have checked out and did not notify desk and cleaning staff also did not notify management
Good location and very well kept. Room was in order with everything working. Heater was operational and quiet. Good restaurant and gas was very close. Breakfast was well laid out, hot with good choices.
The Sawmill inn is an amazing place to stay. Staff is ALWAYS polite, friendly and outgoing. We often make the Sawmill Inn our destination. We enjoy the quiet. There are multiple little shops in the area, good restaurants and a nice local grocery store. The Sawmill Inn is a perfect place to stay if you want to unplug, unwind and enjoy the quiet in a pine tree setting.
Not a good value for veterans it was like the hotel did not want to honor a retired army vet I believe all hotels should honor our military we'll probably stay at a different Hotel should we be in that area again one that honors our military
Usual B st Western. Facilities are not upgraded to current standards, linens were old, hot breakfasts same every day, broken or worn out or just old. Check in clerk said to look up places to eat on the internet, no help. Closest hotel where we were to meet ATV Club. Nice location.
Best Western Heber is such a good place to stay at! The staff here are super nice and welcoming! They really make you feel like you're at home ! The rooms are super clean!!! I Definitely recommend this place if you're coming to Heber! Ivan
he hotel rooms were clean and nice and staff was great. The breakfast is good with the usual selection (cereal, oatmeal, scramble eggs, bacon, Waffel, biscuits gravy, juices).Great stay, will stay her again.
Great place, good location. Will definitely stay there again if the need arises. Close to other cities and attractions. restaurants are close and varied. Staff was friendly and helpful if you need any directions in the area.
2 story older motel with outdoor entrance. Helpful, friendly manager. Room was smoke free and clean. Good bed/mattress. Breakfast looked nice although we ate elsewhere with family - the coffee was perfect! Good price. The area is beautiful.
This hotel was perfect for our stay. The manager was extremely accommodating. The room was clean and a perfect set up for 2 adults and 2 dogs. The manager even offered to have our dogs walked while we ate breakfast. We already booked another little getaway for next week.
Excellent Inn. Rooms are beautiful. Service is great! Management keeps a beautiful facility and the pride they take in their facility shows from when you walk in the lobby to the meticulous grounds. "David" the Manager is friendly, while very professional. An OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE
Change management and more than likely we will return until then oh no! Dave the one "in charge" 0 stars! Hands down worse BW I've ever stayed at! Not just the dine in only policy however the way he speaks to Elite Members who have had exceptional stays all over the US!
This family-run establishment provided me a quality room at a good price. It was super clean and well-maintained. The AC was a little loud, but it was cool enough at night that I didn't need it, and the bed was nicely made although hard. They provide a hot breakfast - a real bonus considering the inexpensive price, and also provide a small bottle of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion - another bonus. I never heard the neighbors, and road noise was not a problem. My room was upstairs, but It's a pretty quiet place and I doubt there would've been a problem with overhead footsteps had I been on the ground floor.
the owner is GREAT. appreciated an early check-in and attention to the notes i added when booking on line. the room was always clean when we needed it. The breakfast provided was fine with lots of options. the owner is friendly and tries to help all the customers, as i evidenced when checking in.
This hotel went over and above to take care of my family. Workout day good rate for all of us. Provided shuttle to the venue. Rooms are all upgraded very clean. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast and sorry for any trouble that we caused you. We will book for next year once we decide on the date.
Overall the hotel was clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and professional. We travel with pets and it would be nice to have a fenced dog walk area, even a small one, but space is limited. The big dissatisfaction was a “Dine In Only” policy for breakfast. We don't ever leave our pets in the room unattended, which means my wife and I would have to have breakfast separately, not a very pleasant way to start the day
Manager was very helpful. We had 10 rooms and we had to check out at 5am. He open the breakfast early and feed all of us. That was geart. i Love the over and above tratment. Rooms clean and nice. Next time we know where to stay. thank you
kind receptionist, amazingly quiet, slept like a baby. beautifully situated at 6600 feet. was wonderful in late spring; cool with a touch of snow. there's basically a hotel or 2, a country store, and incredible scenery. Found it by accident when google routed me south of my trip west.
We stayed at Best Western because we have generally had good luck. This place was different. Just getting the reservation by talking to the person was difficult - Their accent made it difficult to understand. I was there 3 nights. For $10 more I could have gone to a better place further down the road. My best description was Motel 6 at twice the price. MAybe that explains the state of repairs. hole in shower surround, The shower head cover tot eh wall was sitting part way down the shower head. The body gel did not work. Told them about it - not addressed. My guess is at this state of repair - IN 1-2 years it will be closed. The morning continental breakfast was sparse. Waffle maker did not work right. - burn waffle on maker. Worse part - They allow smokers.
Coming up from Phoenix, this was a perfect spot to stop. Serviceminded staff, overall clean and everything you needed. Breakfast was nothing more than allright, but fills you up. Nothing much close to the hotel, but all you need in a short driving distance. Quiet, altough close to the road. Would stay again if we came through the area.
If you are looking for get away that is only a couple hours away from Phoenix (especially during those hot summer days or to come up and play in the snow) a pet friendly, clean, has great customer service. Don't look any further... come to Best Western Sawmill Inn in Heber-Overgaard Arizona.
Friendly, competent staff. Good value for the price. Quiet. Exercise room, free wi-fi, Direct TV, breakfast. Would have liked to have a pool. Right on Highway 260 near interchange to go to Flagstaff and Holbrook In less than an hour's drive, you can stand on a corner in Winslow, Arizona while listening to Oldies Only concern was spotty cell phone reception.
Took the family to Heber for the snow. The staff was very friendly, room was clean, smelled nice, everything worked. I worry when we travel about the safety of my family. I felt very comfortable here. We will always stay here when in the area.
Elegant, clean atmosphere all around. Very professional and kind staff. Clean, up to date rooms with modern furniture and accessories. The electronic equipment functioned well and was stylish and new.
Dave, the manager here is a great person. He will go out of his way to make yo happy with your stay here in this small town of Heber. Dave offered us a ride to and from the Red Onion if we were going to have some drinks with our lunch. The breakfast is ok for the location here in Heber but they are expanding.
Nice friendly staff willing to accommodate. The room was spacious, clean, updated, comfortable and seemed well maintained. Everything was in perfect working order. Fridge and microwave. They were great hosts and when I got ice was asked how I found the accommodations. I had the feeling I was welcome there. I wouldn't hesitate to book another stay or recommend.
Check in was ok, not very friendly, no information about the hotel, the room was ok, we did like the size, but the bed was very well used, the satellite box or something was messing up, so I called the front desk and they said they would be right down to take a look, well guess what no one showed up or called us, a serious black mark, omg the Road noise is horrible, we was on the east side in the middle, black mark, the breakfast in the morning was a deal breaker, very little to pick from or nothing was put out or stocked, I thought a Best Western would be better than this, so guess I will just not book another night here, NEVER!!! P.S. was not a fan of the breakfast starting at 7 am and not at 6 am, daylight is burning time to hit the road.
Check in was fine, room appeared clean but we killed 2 black spiders after receiving several bites. When packing up another walking across bed killed and left on bed. Yuk. Worst yet a group of bikers with no respect for any other hotel guests. Reving engines at 4 am, loudly talking from second floor to first. Coming in noisy and drunk at 1:00am no effort was made to control the noise. 2 day stay.
For once the staff knows everything. Like places to eat, hiking area, internet info, & road information. All the information was accurate & good. Room was nice and clean. They are doing some construction outside but we didn't hear a thing. As always the hot breakfast was good. I visited this place after 1.5 years and wow it has changed lots of renovation done. Will stay again when in the area.
Stunning, loads of new changes happing. Clean rooms and Dave and the staff are extremely useful. Breakfast was great I had a waffle with bacon and eggs the woman made me the waffle. Unquestionably will return to remain. The edge and the reptile shake was cool. We took lots of photos LOL….
The room we stayed in was very clean - good linen, and soft towels. The toilet was very noisy though when flushed, which the staff must surely be aware of. Good size fridge. I agree with another viewer, that the sidewalks and steps leading to the rooms were dirty. There appears to be some construction going on in the grounds which could have been neater - thought the "plastic flowers" in some garden area, were a little cheesy. We had a glitch in that our room was not serviced after the first night, even though we had hung the "Maid Service required" notice on the door. Advised owner early afternoon, but when we came back around 6 pm room still not made up. Another trip to owner, who eventually had a lady make the bed up and clean the bathroom etc. Even though it worked out this should not happen. Breakfast room clean, with usual options : third morning there were bacon, egg & cheese muffins (the English kind) - which looked very soggy and "plastic"!! . My husband tried one, and did not enjoy it at all. The owner Dave, and the lady in the breakfast room were very friendly. Not sure if we would go back though.
The Saw Mill is a great place to stay while traveling to or through the area. While looking to purchase a cabin in the area we were always able to easily make arrangements at The Saw Mill. Clean rooms with coffee fridge and micro.
If you take this place in the context of what's even available in the area, it's an OK place because everything else is terrible...unless you want to drive 50 miles back in to Payson. This time the room had a very noisy toilet refill process, enough to wake up anyone else in the room. The bathroom door also stuck along the tile making it hard to open and close. These things are impossible for the staff to miss, so they must not care. The sidewalks leading up to the rooms were filthy (spilled stuff, gum, stains) which gives you the concern about overall cleanliness. Plus the entire lobby and much of the outside had the distinctly strong odor of curry everywhere. They provide only push dispensers of body wash for the shower, and soap for the sink, which is strangely difficult to rinse off. The TV kept cutting out so much it was impossible to watch. The wall A/C unit put out a strange musty odor. Like all the businesses in Heber/Overgaard, they know they have you isolated so they can charge a lot for very little. This experience was $160 a night. Like I said, if you HAVE to stay in Heber this is the best option. You'll survive.
It was a nice room. All the amenities. Refrigerator microwave . Had a minor problem with door handle but they fixed same day. Cool weather in summer. Cheaper than other towns near buy. Warm breakfast in morning.
Location is on the 260 highway, near eating and other activities. Room are priced well clean and well kept. The staff and owner are pleasant and welcome visitors. Room on the N side have a little better view of the forrest.
This is by far the best and most accommodating hotel I've stayed at. Breakfast is always fresh and the staff is genuinely kind. The rooms are excellent. Easily has my five stars. Rooms can be pricey if not booked in advance but we'll worth the money.
We stayed here for one night due to our friend's wedding. The staff was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A continental breakfast was available free of charge. The wifi worked great! They offered a shuttle to the place where my friend was getting married for a nominal fee. The lady that drove the shuttle was very friendly and mentioned that she makes the breakfast at the hotel, too. As we were checking out the following day, the gentleman at the counter was willing to offer us suggestions of places to check out as we drove back to Phoenix. Very friendly! Would stay here again.
Everyone in the office we're very friendly help me with my room and my technical issues I had rooms were clean upgraded and breakfast was amazing they had bacon egg muffins and blueberry waffles love this hotel if I'm back in the area I will stop by thank you Yogi
We stayed for 8 days while searching for a new home. Very clean accommodations, friendly front desk. The continental breakfast was not what you expect. Lots of food WITH Eggs. Beautiful area, easy to get to anything.
This hotel is in a quiet location. Staff are all friendly and helpful. The front desk gentleman who checked us in told us a great story about the alien abduction in the area...even though he wasn't a great believer in it. ;) Room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. Good wifi, quiet at night, good hot breakfast. I would stay there again.
We spent the night because we were tired driving from the park and on the way to Scottsdale. The hotel is best for the area. Hotel is clean and provides standard amenity for Best Western . The receptionist is helpful and has good suggestion for some sightseeing near by. The room price is fair .
Somewhat unplanned, needed a hotel to stay at after our camping experience fell out. Booking was easy and affordable. Will consider coming back if under the same circumstances. Clean rooms, good breakfast selection.
This place is new/recently remodeled, clean, friendly peeps, and is overall surprisingly nice since there doesn't seem to be a lot of competition in town. Gym was perfect because they didn't try to cram machines in there. Three people could work out comfortably. It was under construction but they still let me use it. Free breakfast was slightly below average for this type of place. Walls were a little thin, but quiet overall. I'm staying here a few more nights later in the week.
Nice half way point between Payson and Show Low. We always stay at this Best Western when we're in the area on a Friday because it's a hop, skip, & a jump down the road to the American Legion Post 86 for an absolutely awesome fish fry. We feel right at home although we live on the Prescott side of Interstate 17.
We are return customers at this particular property. These guys are excellent hosts and we will be back! The rooms are nice and roomy and clean. The price is right too. This visit we didn't visit the breakfast area but last time we did and it was excellent.
The entrance are hard to see at night but that would be the only negative review. Everyone went out of their ways to make us feel like we were at a 5 star hotel. Thanks again! And the biscuits and gravy was well worth the stay!
This hotel was a very pleasant surprise! The room is large and extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable and we slept great! I would definitely go there again next time were in the area. The location was also great.
This is a nice hotel in a rural area which is conveniently located midway between Phoenix and Holbrook. It is in a quiet town with reasonable nearby restaurants in particular, The Red Onion about two blocks away. I highly recommend this restaurant. Motel itself is cozy conveniently located to the highway in the people in the area are extremely hospitable
It was an easy and quick check-in process and very friendly staff. The employees were very helpful in providing all suggestions related to what is there to and eat. The hotel is very clean and neat. The breakfast area was well stocked and organized very well. Parking lot is very bright which makes you feel safe at night time. The location of the hotel is very convenient to local parks.
This is an older hotel. The breakfast had oatmeal but not in packets in the dispenser with the cereal, when you turned it for oatmeal it filled the bowl too much. They had dispenser for soap and shampoo no individual bars or bottles. The toilets were so low I asked if they were legal and he said they are the standard size. I thought not the current standard maybe many years ago. We stayed at a total of 5 hotels before this one and none were this low. I am only 5'3" and my friend has bad knees and could't get up without help. I am glad this was only for 1 night. It was clean.
We will stay here again. The rooms are clean and the breakfast was good. If you are in the area, you should stay here. The manager and staff are excellent. This the 3rd time we been there. We had our pet with us.
The beds are like rocks and if you ask to make an accommodation, they tell you, you have to call Expedia. Never heard of such a things EVER! I expected when we called that they would advise what they had available and try to be accommodating since we wanted to be on the bottom floor and have myself and my other party's rooms near each other. It was just a hassle where we had to drive to the hotel first before going on our adventure to get it taken care of which made us go out of our way.
A little pricey and the bed was on the hard side, still, I would stay there again. Great customer service. Great location. Cafes and restaurants nearby. Better than the other nearby motel choice. In-room microwave was a must for eating late night.
We have stayed in the hotel several times.. We have always been very pleased with the hotel, hope to stay there again in the future. Each year we travel to Arizona for the winter, and we try to stay in this hotel if we are in the area
Stayed here for a business meeting and elk hunting. Room was very clean and staff was nice. Will stay here again and would recommend. checked out early and had a minor problem with billing, but called and they took care of it right away.
The staff, owner and manager are all great and accommodating. Excellent hot breakfast. Very clean hotel. It is my favorite place to stay when I am in the area - in fact my favorite hotel, period.. I always look forward to staying here.
Hotel staff was very friendly, recommended a great restaurant for dinner. Rooms were clean and nice. Breakfast was great! The kids loved the waffles! Hotel is in a great location close to the surrounding lakes and hiking!
This is about our fourth visit and keeps getting better. Dave is so very helpful even going so far as to offer free rides to restaurants. Breakfast is exceptional. The area is very beautiful. We will be back!
We've driven by many times on our way to Show Low. Decide to give this Best Western an overnight try and we were pleasantly surprised. Our king room was clean, spacious, and quiet. Fridge, micro, dresser, desk and chair plus an additional table and two chairs. Lots of room to spread out. Next time I want to beat the Phoenix heat, I'll skip Show Low and spend the weekend here. Hiking and fishing are near by. Tall pines, cool air, and no where near the traffic jam that Show Low has become. Beware of the Elk when driving at night or early morning.
We were driving home from the Phoenix Mesa area, but left later than we planned. Even though I had been though Heber hundreds of times we had never stayed at this motel. What a pleasant place to stay! Friendly staff, comfortable rooms that were pleasantly decorated, and VERY PET FRIENDLY! Very nice. Will stay there again when the occasion arises.
We were a bit skeptical that a hotel like this in such a small town would be what we're used to....but this place was refreshingly comfortable. The service was great, the room clean, and the AAA rate affordable. Not 5 stars compared to a luxury hotel, but certainly 5 stars among hotels of this type.
This trip was to spend a couple days with friends that have a cabin in Overguaard. We have driven by this hotel many times. The hotel was nice and clean and the service was great. The breakfast was good as well.
Traveled to Heber for wedding. Room was clean, front desk was very helpful and friendly and did allow early check-in. Breakfast was good, but typical. Little pricey for small town motel at end of season.
The room was very nice and kept up (NOT worn like some I have stayed in). The wi-fi functioned well. The hotel sits right next to highway 260. I had one of two rooms closest to the road with a window facing the highway. Road noise and with some trucks, vibrations made for a poor night's sleep.
Staff is very knowledgeable about local area. Room was clean & they just changed furniture. best of all the breakfast all I need it. eggs english muffin, bacon and salsa. thanks for the late check out
Room was clean. Mattress was firm. Shower worked well and plenty of hot water. In room heater/air conditioner worked well but was noisy. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was adequate but nothing fancy.
The staff should be trained better on the computer system and how to see reservations. Also trained better on check ins and outs. The staff had a hard time finding my reservation and then understanding it was for 2 nights not just 1. Then our cards were charged for the one night, refunded and then charged for the two total, we were not able to get a receipt for the charges until check out. And the breakfast was very subpar.
Me and my hubby had a great experience!! David was so friendly, and nice! The room was excellent, very clean, cozy, and beautiful views. We would definitely stay again!! They also had a great breakfast!! Nice variety!!
Friendly staff, quick check in and check out undoubtedly best ,cleanest we have ever stayed in our entire trip recommended to everybody excellent experience overall in middle of green mountains breakfast was very good and everything was so fresh best breakfast in our entire trip , highly recommend this place to stay
The Sawmill Inn in Heber is a great place to stay. It is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable. The area is beautiful and peaceful. The manager works very hard to keep his guests comfortable and happy.
During our first visit to the area we stayed at the Sawmill Inn in Heber. We had a pleasant stay in a quiet, comfortable room. Very friendly staff. We enjoyed the free included breakfast. Everything was Excellent!!!
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. Lady in the breakfast room was extremely cordial and helpful. Hotel was in a beautiful location, but the amenities in the area are rather scarce. Great place for an overnight stay. If visiting the Rim Country, I was suggest staying here even though it is about 25 miles to the area we visited.
Best western sawmill inn is a fantastic place to stay when your in heber/overgaurd. It's right on the main drag and very easy parking for your car or truck or big trucks. The people their are very pleasant.
This was our second time to stay at this Best Western. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The bed is always an issue for us and it was very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to be in the area. Price is very reasonable what you get.
We stayed here on the way from the Phoenix airport to the Petrified Forest. The hotel was clean and the people were very friendly. The free breakfast was OK, nothing special. The town itself is very small.
Nice clean place in the central mountains of Arizona. ( great location) Friendly staff and a good breakfast. Room was was nice a quiet and everything worked. We come to the area for an extended weekend every year and always stay at Best Western Sawmill Inn.
Great time here, we were visiting friends for a birthday party, and we had a wonderful time. Try the biscuits and gravy for breakfast. they were awesome! The Motel was clean and very comfortable. we slept in and took advantage of the great bed.
This is a lovely hotel in a wonderful, mountainous area of Arizona. The owners are very friendly and their hotel is clean. The mattresses are good and they were busy putting in new furniture. They keep things updated. They had a good breakfast. I will stay there again the next time I go through there.
Traveled for July 4th fun! Room was pricey for very basic room presentation. What is typically a nice comfy comforter was a blanket sandwiched between two older sheets. Served the purpose but certainly not a recommendation.
this is a nice Best Western just as you would expect. it had all the amenities, fast WiFi, giant screen TV, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron, work desk etc. the room was immaculately clean also the bathroom. very comfy bed with nice linen. everything was A-Ok except the floor lamp blew a bulb. the manager brought and installed a new bulb IMMEDIATELY. but it blew out 5 minutes later; defective lamp. so they brought me a new lamp IMMEDIATELY. the manager was incredibly nice, friendly, polite, helpful, a TEN on a scale of one top ten.
We were here for a short weekend. Arrived early but room wasn't ready as the fire had kept them busy with patrons. Service was good breakfast was good and only things that could have made it better was pillows that fit the bed or 2 more then what was there and a couple more towels. We did get xtra towels. Internet was easy to use and fast and room was very clean bed was comfy in an adequate way for a decent sleep.
We had a very enjoyable experience staying at the Best Western in Heber, AZ. The front office staff was especially friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very good and above what I had expected. We had a good experience and will stay there again in the future.
Nice, clean, quaint hotel. The beds are comfortable, our room was very quiet.I stay there once a year. Friendly service and beautiful location. The breakfast is simple yet sufficient. We had a comfortable stay and slept great.
This is the best place i have stayed at. They called week before to check on my reservation which is not normal but nice. Room was Clean and just what we wanted. thank you yogi for give us the ride to Red onion. very good food. Breakfast was busy but eggs , bacon and waffle worth the wait.
The hotel is quiet, clean and the service consistent. The Manager is always on site and concerned that guests are satisfied. The breakfast waffles are the best we have had in hotels. The rooms are neat an clean with actual chairs for two adults.
This was our first time to stop in Heber for an overnight. We selected the Best Western Sawmill not only based on the Trip Advisor ratings/comments, but having driven past it several times it repeatedly caught our attention. The property is clean and very well maintained. Rooms are large, clean, updated and comfortable. WiFi speed is among the top 5 of all places we've stayed. Staff is friendly and dedicated to customer satisfaction. Breakfast is good, waffles, cereal, breads, donuts, etc. As special shout out to Dave who worked the morning we were there (4/24). He was extremely friendly and outgoing. He gave the immediate impression that he was dedicated to making his guest happy and relaxed. He is a great asset to this property.
We stayed at this hotel for the first time, having used others up in Showlow, and Pinetop in the past. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The Manager/Owner went way above and beyond to ensure we had a great room, and good time in the area. His welcome, advise for restaurants, and unexpected offer to pick us up, and bring us back to the room should we had too many margaritas was well above what you expect at any motel. The room was great, the bed, and pillows wonderful, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff member was concerned that the food was hot, fresh, and plentiful. We found the experience well above our expectations for such a fair priced room for the night. It was much better then the motels/hotels we have stayed just a little further up the road. Sorry we have not used the motel before, will do so moving forward. We also noticed the convenient parking for large RV's, or a moving vehicle with a car, or car with a boat trailer that many hotels don't offer, or make you use four or five normal parking spaces. This was a very nice option. We had a great stay, recommend it to everyone, don't pass this motel by, you won't regret it. Thank you to the owner/Manager for being so helpful, and friendly.
Dave at the hotel was very helpful. Thank you for cleaning the snow off our car. Beverly in breakfast was very helpful. Thank you for makeing me waffel, eggs & bacon. Room was clean and very happy with stay.
I enjoyed the staff, the very very clean room, the good breakfast, and the overall well maintained appearance of he property. I will stay at this hotel the next time I'm in Heber. I don't know why they need two hundred characters but I guess I can babble on until they let me post this. heh heh heh
I have nothing to review. It was a nice stay. Very comfortable and breakfast was good and all I could eat. Check out time was great for me. thank you. Room was clean and all necessary items were available. Did like the dispensers of lotion and soap better than the little plastic containers most use.
This Best Western is clean and in a great location. The staff is awesome. Beverly does a great job providing the free breakfast in the morning. She is cheerful and goes above and beyond. Dave at the front desk always has a smile on his face and is so very helpful. I love that they offer designated dog rooms.
This was a wonderful hotel with the most amazing staff! I am a young woman and was traveling with two of my friends and we were forced to stay in Heber because of a snow storm. We were able to get a room with no notice and still got an excellent rate. The staff were some of the nicest people that I have ever met. They were understanding of our situation and concerned for our safety. In the morning the staff was out early shoveling snow off of cars. They helped dig our car out and got us safely out of the parking lot. I cant imagine many hotel staffers that would do the same. I am so appreciative of them! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable! The breakfast in the morning was tasty! Overall, a great stay and experience!
I stay at this location after being on the road for 2,000 miles to get a great nights rest and the food in this area is great! There is the Red Onion and the Mexican restaurant all right there. The Red Onion is very good for there steaks, they cut there own here. The hotel is clean and my pet room was very nice for my pet, she did not spend much time getting settled in.
rooms smelled terrible, I could not stay staff at front could not tell me if a room was available for quite some time, It was a terrible experience, so I left Do not recommend Sawmill Inn at all, went down the street and stayed at Buckskin Lodge for 1/3 the price and a better room, that did not smell.
BW Sawmill in is one of only 3 hotels in the towns of Heber-Overgaard. It's a basic BW. The beds are hard, so had a hard time sleeping. They provided breakfast, but only had one person trying to keep up with the demand. Waited for quite a while on the sausage gravy for the biscuits, but she was never able to get it done, so gave up on that. However, the rest of the food was okay. One night we decided to get some ice cream out of their freezer where they provided Schwan's frozen items. They need to date this stuff and go through it from time to time to get rid of old items. We bought 2 ice cream sandwiches that turned out to be VERY OLD and tasted like it. Gross. Other than that, the hotel was fine and the staff were very friendly. We stay in the area every year in October when our child goes up there for a martial arts camp near by. There's not a lot of choice unless you're willing to drive 30 or more miles for a place to stay. It's little high priced for the location and being during a "shoulder" season.
We wanted to get a break from the desert heat in Phoenix, so spent a few days in Heber. The Sawmill Inn is a good location for hiking in the high country. Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet at night for sleeping.
It was one of the best Best Western that we have stayed at very clean , beds were very comfortable after camping a hot shower was very good , staff is very helpful , breakfast was one of the best ever with my favorite eggs and bacon, love this place surrounded by trees and cooler weather , next time in the area will stop by
The staff was super friendly and knowledgable about the area. They were quick with recommendations for restaurants and hikes. The room was standard looking but very clean. Towels were white and fluffy! Small frig and micro in room were great since there isn't a grocery close by.
First night open room when we got there. called front desk and was told they were just airing it out. That night we had tons of flies. Shower incomplete. Have pictures.. Second night I was moved into a handicap room, which I appreciated it. since I am handicap. When you turned on the shower it leaked all over the floor and there were no safety strips on the seat and you slide all over. Almost out of the shower.
Went to vist family in the area and decided to stay the night. The grounds were very well kept. The room was very clean. You could tell time was taken to clean the room. The carpet was clean with no stains. There was complimentary coffee and maker inthe room as well as a microwave and refrigerator. The shower came with a soap, shampoo and conitioner dispenser which was nicer then those little bottles and bars you usually get. The motel offered a continental breakfast but we did not get to try it. I would stay here again.
This is the second time we stayed at the Sawmill Inn Best Western for a few day get-a-way from our Arizona heat. The staff was very professional and helpful. The room was good and the breakfast had many different choices. We will defiantly go back again.
What a great surprise on arriving at this hotel , tidy , great location , the most helpful manager who shuttled a group of 14 people back and forwards to the local diner / bar , fantastic scenery & great motorcycle riding roads
This is a great little Inn, with a terrific staff. I really enjoyed staying here. My 2 Service Dogs - one in training - were very welcome. David, whom I think is a resident manager, knew the Americans With Disabilities Act in some detail. I would recommend a stay here anytime.
We stayed a couple of nights here in Heber. First off, this hotel is located right when you enter Heber. It's surrounded by beautiful pine trees! The lobby is nice, welcoming as are the staff. Initially, the room we were given would not open; the door lock was inoperable. The manager immediately moved us. The room was large, and had a fridge and microwave and a good sized tv. The Wi-Fi was great; no problems with it at all. I saw a mention regarding the shower pressure; I didn't think there was anything wrong with the pressure of the showers unless you're wanting water that peels off paint?! The tv channels offered HBO and other movie channels, this was such a bonus. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the pillows were huge and cushy. I prefer a more flat pillow and asked if they had any, the front desk stated they would check. A few minutes later, a nice housekeeping lady arrived with a flatter pillow--I was ecstatic! So accommodating! We tried their breakfast the next morning and it was excellent! eggs, bacon, waffles, cold cereals, fruit, pastries, toast, coffee, juices and there was a nice little spread of various toppies for oatmeal or yogurt! It was clean and had plenty of tables too. The manager told us there would be biscuits and gravy! that was delicious too. Overall, it was a really pleasant stay. I highly recommend this Best Western! Otherwise, the town of Heber is small and doesn't offer a "down town" so to speak but has other options at the opposite end of the highway...
Very, very clean. Staff extremely accommodating. Had a great sleep. I would recommend it to anyone traveling. The rooms were well appointed with plenty of outlets and really high speed internet. I need it for working. Wonderful location.
I live in the scorching Phoenix Arizona and decided to pack light, swoop up the elderly dog and zip up to beautiful northern Arizona for cooler temps. The dog and I hit all the creeks and lakes, walked on paved paths and flat raw forest trails. Rather than drive home I decided since we were both beat to stay in Heber. I booked my room while still in Woods Canyon Lake and headed to the Best Western. The owner checked me in and to my alarm and surprise I thought I booked a "pet friendly" room but I had not. The owner was kind enough to up grade my room to a bigger room that WAS pet friendly at my already pre determined price!!! I was so grateful!! We were beat and the 2+ hour drive home was too long!! I was very appreciative of my upgrade and the room was outstanding in cleanliness & affordability, plus customer service was above and beyond. I would highly recommend the Best Western to everyone!!
This smaller Best Western was just what we needed for an overnight stay in Heber. We needed to be close to one of the camps in the area and this fit the bill. The hotel is a smaller, newer property. The room and linens were clean and had plenty of outlets for charging a variety of electronic devices. The bed was comfortable and the room was well appointed for a budget property. We could hear the water running in our neighbor's room and, if they were talking loudly, we could hear that too, but no more than any other budget hotel we have stayed in over the years. The staff were delightful - very attentive and polite. Always a plus. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast area but the selection looked good and the space is very well kept. We will be back.
We selected this hotel for two reasons: (1) its proximity (just 23 miles) to the east entrance to Highway 300, the "Rim Road," and the Mogollon Rim and (2) its value relative to worthy but more expensive options in larger nearby towns. Check! With several good restaurants nearby, the Best Western Sawmill Inn is a perfect fit for a one-night stay on the way to other destinations.
My family was coming up from Phoenix to help me celebrate my birthday. There were too many to invite to stay with us. Dave and his wife worked with me to have my family stay in four rooms for two nights. They were very happy with the hotel and proximity to our home.
Great Location Clean hotel, Friendly Staff, and Good Breakfast for a Reasonable price. Stumbled on to this hotel late afternoon. I recommend this to anyone in the Heber area needing a hotel...very well managed.
It is a very small town with limited hotel options. Very Happy we stayed at the BestWestern! It is in the middle of town and easy to get places! The breakfast included in the cost of the room was great!
Heber is a very small town, not much to see, eat or do, but after a long day up at Red Rock Lavender for the festival, this location was perfect. Staff was friendly, location is very convenient to the freeway and the room was very quiet and comfortable. Basic yes, but clean and slept well. Breakfast buffet was good, coffee could have been a bit stronger but eggs, biscuit and gravy were tasty.
We stayed here one night on our way north. This is a good hotel. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room is nothing fancy but everything worked well. Room smells clean, linens are clean, good lighting, fairly quiet a/c which did take a while to cool down the room, small widescreen tv with DIRECTV, good water pressure in shower, good wifi, large room, close to a couple restaurants(but not walking distance on busy road). Breakfast is fair with one waffle maker, cereal, packaged pastries, etc. Parking is a little tight if their hotel is full. Not too many choices in Heber which is a little run down.
We were staying in Heber because of a forest fire related pre-evacuation notice for our community. We were charged $129 for one nights, whereas a follow-up check for rates the same day the following week showed a rate of $87 or so. Our room was okay, though standard facilities cleaning was lax. We went to breakfast around 8:00 to find eggs, potatoes and sausage pretty much gone. They were never restocked while we were there. The folks running the place were pleasant enough, but the overcharge, lack of attention to detail and flat out greed will keep us from spending any more of our hard earned money at this motel.
This is a wonderful Best Western. Yogi the staff was very helpful even though we arrived before check-in time. Room was spacious and comfortable. Sheets were soft and pillows were fluffed. Shower-head was adjustable and A/C was quiet. hot Breakfast included very happy. Everything about our stay was wonderful.
we got to the hotel about 11pm and the lobby was closed. we had to wake up the front desk person. when we got into the room the sheets and pillow cases were fithy and not changed. we tried to call the front desk to change the room and the front desk person would not answer the phone. we left the hotel
Staff was very knowledgeable on near by trails and lakes. Good spot for bird watching. Sun set on the rim was awesome. Hotel was clean, Hot breakfast was nice I liked that each day you had something different to eat.
The forecast for Phoenix was record breaking heat so we decided to get out of town and go to the high country for some cooler air. We scoped many places on the Rim for a place to stay. Settled on the Sawmill Inn because of price and also they are serving breakfast. They provided a wonderfully clean and comfortable room that really more than met our short term expectations. Thank you Sawmill.
Beds were horrible. Breakfast was sad (eggs were not quite egglike). Staff was nice and the area was nice. Not much for amenities nearby. A bit far from any local fishing areas to be of any use. Better off in Show low or Christopher Creek.
An older BW and it shows. However our bedding was new, in fact it was so new that the mattresses were still wrapped in plastic. I was in doubt wether this was to protect against stains etc but it felt odd and I spoke to the owner and asked wether it could be removed. It turned out the mattresses were brand new and somehow someone forgot to take the plastic off, so we went ahead and removed it ?? I was in need of some extra blankets and received them promptly. A point of attention : the "fresh/clean" BW tv remote was not fresh and clean. They are not in most hotels but then they should not be put in a sleeve and labeled as such. Breakfast was ok, as in any hotel of this class. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay again, especially considering the limited options in this area.
A big disappointment for a Best Western hotel. Very basic, little attention to detail (floors not clean, no towels in room, breakfast with no hot water for tea, milk all gone for cereal, grounds not kept) Would not recommend.
There's like 2 hotels to chose from in heber. Even if there was 20 I would pick bestwestern every time. I'm an employee of best Western and as some of you may know, who read my reviews alot, I've never had a bad review of best westerns. This place was clean inside, breakfast was good, hotel staff was friendly, and I generally have no complaints. It was just a little outdated and the coffee in the room didn't taste good :( but that's just not something worth complaining about. I got my employee discount and didn't have any problenms. I stayed in room 218 and that door sticks and it super hard to open. Management may want to check on that :) overall great stay and I would return
My friend & I stayed here after spending the day at Petrified Forest National Park. Very well run motel -- staff was friendly & helpful. We requested a quiet room & were put on the opposite side from where most of the other people were staying. There was some road noise, but it wasn't bad as the traffic was very light overnight. Room was clean & updated. Breakfast was good, included scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, plus make-your-own waffles. Would definitely stay here again.
worst hotel we ever stayed inn outdated nothing worked dogs barked all night next door on duty never responded to problem TV worked when it felt like it missed the wake up call toilet was loose leaked smelly place
Clean place but limited in services....probably stay somewhere else next time....?? called to make reservations but was told all rooms are booked...(.never booked at this time of month)...i acknowledged and said I will try another place. Then rep said "oh wait there are some cancellations and we have availability?? So I booked....here now....this place is empty...hmmmm???
We stayed here 2 nights for a wedding, the bed was comfy and the room was clean. The staff was very nice, my only issue was the busted soda machine that ate my money... Then the $1 charge for a tiny bottle of water from the front desk. But all in all, it wasnt that big of a deal and Heber is so beautiful it was totally worth it. If you stay here, right next door is a little shop with all organic lavender products, made in house and from a local lavender farm. Definitely stop by there!
This hotel met all expectations. We had a great group negotiated rate. It was clean and conveniently located. They had a shuttle to take us to local restaurants. The shuttle driver was friendly and courteous. The continental breakfast looked good but we did not eat it. We went just up the road to June's Cafe. A must do if you are in Heber for breakfast!
Had no problems staff was awesome ! great place to stay if you in Heber Az. lots of fun stuff to do and good food in area ! i highly advise The Best Western Sawmill to anyone looking for a clean friendly place to stay !
This is a nice place to stay when I work in Heber or Heber area. Rooms were clean and staff was very helpful. I will stay there again on my next trip to Heber or the Rim, which will be next week. Thank you
A best place to stay in Heber. Small town we didn't know what we would run into but took a chance and stopped WOW it was nice, clean, confrontable and breakfast were very good. Eggs, biscuit, and gravy. YOGI showed me make your own yogurt I had 6 choices of different toppings to be added to yogurt,
Management very friendly. Room clean. Bed a bit hard. Was a good standard accommodation and we did have a good enough sleep. The breakfast was disappointing in that containers were mostly empty and eggs left something to be desired.
There isn't a whole lot to choose from in Heber, because it's such a small town, but of what IS there this is probably the best you'll find! It's small but it's clean and the beds are comfortable. The owner is extremely nice and very happy to ensure your stay in enjoyable. If you're traveling and need a nice, reasonably priced place to stay then you'll be happy with this one. Unfortunately though they are not a pet friendly hotel.
After a long day hiking and exploring the area, we stopped in to the Sawmill Inn hoping to get a room with out a reservation. A happy smiling employee quickly had us registered, we so enjoyed visiting with him, his friendliness made us feel welcome. He recommended some local restaurants, which were excellent. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water in the shower. Comfortable king sized bed. The breakfast served in the lobby was good, with hot waffles, eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, along with fruit, cereal and yogurt. So much better than those places who only have continental style breakfast. We went away ready for another day of adventure. Will definitely recommend to others and return to the Sawmill Inn.
The entry way and front office smelled like curry upon arrival. The room was not ready until 3pm. It is slow season and hotel was not full but they can't have rooms ready for those few that are arriving. The next morning we went to get a little breakfast (bagels etc) but the entire area still smelled of curry and kinda made us not want to eat.
Well, Heber in winter doesn't compare to New Orleans in Mardi Gras, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway, this might be your place. It was the only hotel open, but that's not a bad choice. It's clean, has nice proprietors and a breakfast buffet. We would come back. Nice views of Ponderosa pines.
We stayed at the inn for my dad's funeral so I reserved four rooms for my family. I had asked for our rooms to be close together if possible. Management did not know the reason we were in town for, but when they found out, they were very welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our rooms were together and pack and play was deliver in the room when we arrived. The rooms were wonderful. They're spacious, clean, and very well kept. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in town.
Sawmill staff help me prepare for my meeting. I did not preplan my business meeting before my flight to AZ thinking I will do it when I get there but no office supply. WOW… So the manager found out and helped me prep for my meeting with his supply… Now that's what I call service. Even made small art in color for me and print it. Every time am in the area will stay with you.
Excellent service, clean & spacious rooms, gracious & friendly staff, safe & quiet environment, small town but nice. The food were fresh ,tasty and healthy. Eggs and waffle with dry toppings was a A++++++++. As always will keep coming back.
I love Best Western.... This was the best hotel on my trip. Wow it had everything breakfast was the best. Eggs, sausage, and yogurt with toppings. Internet worked on the laptop didn't have to call someone for it Unlike other hotels on my tip. Quit place right off the highway. Very nice. On my way home saw cowboys delivering mail on horses.
while on a business trip stopped here for the night . place was clean and bed was comfortable. would gladly return when in this area again . west of motel is a good mexican food cafe . wad cool to stand in parking lot and watch deer playing . the lobby wad Clean. left before breakfast so can't say about that .
A smiling face and no waiting at 3:30 AM! And when things were left in the room, the staff promptly arranged for them to be shipped for us, timed to match our arrival back home. What a great example of customer service
Great place, as soon as I entered the hotel I was greeted with a smile. Room was very clean, Bed was very comfortable and it included a continental breakfast. But the hotel had" Hot Breakfast" being served in the morning took me by surprise. good eggs and waffles. "Dave was very friendly and always wanting to help.
We have been very happy at all the Bestwestern motels we have stayed They have had great staffing and friendly service clean and very quite we won't stay any where else .easy to book online ready when we get there, reasonable on price
The staff was friendly and excellent accommodations. The staff responded to every request and were helpful with all of my needs. Breakfast was excellent and included fresh fruit. Quiet at night. The area was nice with lots of hiking trails.
I was driving from Phoenix to New Mexico and came across this Best Western en route. Pulled in because I like BW. It was a one night stay, but very comfortable. Generally, when I stay in a motel, I find it difficult to sleep well. (Strange bed, place, etc.) Not here--very comfortable. Nearby restaurant was also very good. (Home made Bleu Cheese Dressing!) Instead of little bottles of shampoo :& conditioner, and little (wasteful) bars of soap, they had dispensers! Great idea to eliminate a lot of waste/plastic. Continental breakfast has been expanded to include scrambled eggs, sausage gravy & biscuits. Better than just breads & sweet rolls.
What a great weekend we spent with Travis Walton & the team!!! Great food and location. It was clean comfortable and breakfast was great. Coffee, eggs, fruit and yogurt. The excursion tour was an adventure of its own. Loved every moment of it. A wonderful evening, and leaving with lots of questions about the universe, outer space and what may lay out there........We all know we are not alone.
We stayed here one night while attending the SkyFire Conference that was held at Bison Ranch five miles down the road. We had a ground floor room. All the rooms had an entry from the outside like a motel. The room was fine, nothing fancy. If you notice no soap or lotion on the vanity, look on the wall next to the hair dryer for the dispenser. The breakfast was the usual fare. I would stay here again if staying up in that area. The Red Onion Restaurant less than a mile away is a local favorite with a lot of tv's for sports watching. We had burgers which were food. Also the Wild Women Saloon at Bison Ranch had good food too. Would stay again.
Management and staff were quick to respond and personable. The location is convenient to travel between PHX and ABQ, and has a small town ambience. The water is cold and delicious, amid the pine forests of northern Arizona.
Attended a wedding at the All Seasons Lodge and the wedding party had a block of rooms for guests. The hotel is two stories accssible from the outside. No elevator. I had booked in August so we were able to get ground floor. We had two comfortable queen beds, nice size Refridge and micro was stainless see exterior which .ooked new. Nice size flat screen high def TV that had good reception. Free wifi. Clean and comfortable. We were second from the end rm. on the opposite side from check-in. Fairly quiet except early morning when people walking by our door/window talked loud or started their vehicle. Our view wasn't bad. Kind of scenic with trees and a high hill with rocks. The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly/personable. The breakfast area didn't have a lot of seating. Brkfst was the usual. Hubby said the apple juice was really watered down. OJ was good. It's a very small town, not a lot of things to do unless you are into camping/ outdoor adventures. But we were busy with the wedding. Would recommend it but it's best to get there before dark so you can find your way around the town. It is over 6600 elevation and I did notice a bit of altitude adjusting. It only has a fitness center, no pool.Price was very reasonable using AAA. I like that they are using water conservation by reusing your towels, bedding if staying more than one night. The sink is outside the toilet/shower area. Dispensers for both sink and shower for soaps, lotions, shampoo, conditioner. AC worked well but we had the window wide open for fresh air except for sleeping and it was a cool weekend so did not use the AC.
WE met family here for elk hunting and it was a great place to come back and relax after spending most of morning and day outside in this beautiful rim country! The owner and family are exceptionally nice and pleasant people. We ended up booking a larger room with couch and sitting area unbeknownst to us and it was quite comfortable so those camping in our family could come hang out. We realized upon check in the adding door to room next door was broken. The owner concerned for our safety did not rent out that room that night. He had door fixed early next day! Everything was very clean and well taken care of.
Overall experience here was wonderful! Checkin was fast and the manager made good conversation when we arrived. Our room was nicely cooled and the bed and bathroom were well groomed. Offered free breakfast and fast Wi-Fi. Will be staying again!
Stayed one night on my way back home, two queen room - plenty of space, clean, quiet, parking in front of the room. Best sleep I had during my travel from one location to another. I would definitely recommend this location.
This is the second time this year that we stayed at this Best Western, Each time has been a good experience, Breakfast had hot and cold items. The parking is ample. Front desk people are very helpful.
The hotel website stated it was 'pet friendly', so I booked a room through their website in advance for myself and my small dog . When I showed up in evening to check in, I was told there were rooms available but there were no 'pet rooms' available, and that I would not be able to stay there. That left me in a real bind on very short notice, and forced me to scramble around the area on short notice to find a hotel that would allow my dog. It was not a pleasant situation.
From the time I made reservation to check out everyone was helpful. I loved the breakfast they actually had gluten free Cereal, eggs, Sausage gravy and biscuit and more. on the web it said it was continental but it was more like Hot breakfast. thank you dave and staff.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and smelled good. We had plenty of towels to use. We had to ask to change rooms because one of our party was very handicapped and they were able to make a call and we got a ground floor room. The clerk was so helpful and polite.
