Sure Hotel by Best Western Center

Hotel is ideally located in Central Gothenburg. Near to Steinpiren Station (2 mins walk) for buses/tram access and close to the Haga District (5 mins walk). Therefore close to plenty of transport options, shops, 7/11 shops, takeaways, Independent shops, bars, restaurants and the Feskekörka Market. The hotel itself is very run down and in dire need of an deep clean and update. The room I had was a small single - the room itself was run down - dirty curtains, blood on the walls, parts of the walls with dents in. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The downstairs breakfast area is clean/tidy but appears run down. There is lift access even if it is slow. The stairwell again needs a clean and update and noted part of the banister was broken. The staff are very friendly, helpful and avaliable around the clock. Cleaning of the room avaliable on request and done. The breakfast avaliable has a good range of European breakfast options including pastries, biscuits, meats, cheese and salad items. Extensive options for hot drinks and juices. Drinks also avaliable around the clock. Also able to purchase soft drinks from reception.

I have been staying several times in this hotel, but this week was terrible. I was awaken at 3 AM by loud voices on the coridor. When checking, it was Rebekka, the receptionist of the hotel talking very loud. When I asked her to keep her voice down because people are sleeping, she started yelling at me that she was working there and I should go back to my room. She was still shouting very loudly. Then I asked her again very kindly to keep her voice down but then she yelled at me 'GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW'. This is absolutely unacceptable. As a receptionist she should know she needs to be quite during the night. Because I was awake, I couldn't sleep anymore and have been awake till the morning. I will NEVER stay in this hotel again. Very unprofessional.

Hello, My experience was really really bad. Not recommended for anyone in the future, couples, families and friends. No fika was available, house keeping enters the rooms anytime even if you mention the tag private outside the room.

Other than the reception staff (who were very professional and pleasant), my stay at this hotel was terrible. Overhead light didn't work in my room, bathroom light flickered off and on regularly. Thin stained towels. The bed was saggy and uncomfortable. No basic amenities (like ice). Decent breakfast buffet. No bar. My room was changed - they couldn't get this light changed…really. New room featured a “booger wall”… Extraordinarily disappointed. Particularly as there is a hotel 100m away (essentially the same cost…maybe €5 more per night) that, upon inspection is much better. If I hadn't been required to pay entire fee up front, I would have changed. I was by myself, so It wasn't as big a deal as if I'd been with my wife.

The hotel is located right near the main shopping area and close to many interesting sites. Public transportation is a few minutes away as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was nice. The breakfast was good and there is a waffle bar available in the evenings. The street is very busy and loud so if you want some quiet you have to close the window (if you're on the street side) but once the window is closed the room is silent. Very good value for the money, I definitely recommend it.

We were 4 nights at the hotel, just 10 minutes from Central Göteborg train station, nice area with restaurants, COOP supermarket, but quiet, clean and safe area. Very good breakfast ( including gluten and lactose free), good and clean room, and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Situated in a very prime location with good food and cafes. Breakfast was very disappointing. The buns were underbaked and the cheese seemed stale and old. The rooms were clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall, I think the place is way overpriced.

Very friendly staff and they helped at anyway they could. Decent breakfast buffet, free coffee and tea available in the dining hall. The hotel located in the middle between Göteborg central station and the old town Haga.

The positive: the central location next to Järntorget, coffee, tea and waffels are free of charge and breakfast is ok, the rooms are rather clean. The negative: rooms are totally depressing, lacking all type of decoration and the view is horrible. Equipment such as lamps and hooks to hang your coats are missing and lots of stuff is broken like wall panels, curtains, lamps, iron and ironing board. I would only recommend this place for tourists on a tight budget. Two of the staff members are nice and the rest are quite unaccommodating. In summary this place is disappointing.

I was very happy with the experience I had with the hotel. The staff were so great, Ida was very helpful throughout my whole stay. The breakfast is great and coffee, tea, and biscuits are available all day long. The city is very walkeable and as a location, it's perfect. I will recommend this hotel to anyone.

Decent hotel for a fair price. Room was okay and clean. Located well to explore the city. Personnel was friendly and always present. Simple, but good breakfast in the morning and round the clock fika and coffee/juice available. Would recommend.

Good location and good internet and good staff , bad and dangerouse elevator no refirgrator excellent vue from family room . payment ok but finally become so so over and not recommended with these services at all

Good location in the middle of everything a ok place nothing more and nothing less. Ok price, ok value, ok breakfast, ok staff, ok room etc They had free coffee, tea, cookies and fruits 24/7, free waffels in the evening. Small room and small bed

Decent location, walking distance to the biggest attractions and the town center. Room was dusty and clearly used before. The TV-remote was quite dirty and the wall behind the bed was not inviting to lean against. Fix the rooms and you'll have quite the hotel

Came here to eat, expensive and not that good looks great though, but they tried hard nice people .good atmosphere and lighting .the rooms are probably nice only ate heard , sooooooooo much money. Good bar and drinks

First of all, I can't understand why people (especially Swedes themselves!) give such low marks to this hotel. We booked it through Norwegian and this already was some kind of a guarantee of verified quality. And indeed it was a good option to stay in Gothenburg that pre-Xmas weekend. Hotel is located within easy walkable reach from the city centre with PLENTY of transport options nearby - from tram to ferry. Very friendly multilingual staff - you will have no problem even if you speak zero Swedish. On our first night the girl at the reception printed out a list of After Work places for us. Clean and cosy common spaces, rooms are small but also nice and clean. We had a print of Klimt's painting in our room, a small armchair and a desk with a chair, sliding-door wardrobe and a bathroom with a shower (toiletries are in dispensers). The view was into the courtyard but the area was very quiet. The best part of our stay was food! Breakfast was divine and plentiful with all sorts of cold cuts, cheeses, cereal, yoghurts, vegetables (not only tomatoes!), smoked salmon, Kalles kaviar, two sorts of herring, various knaeckebroed, biscuits, two sorts of coffee, fruit etc etc. Also between 16.00 and 21.00 you can make your own waffles in the kitchen! Everything - including batter - is provided by the hotel for free! Can only (and will) recommend this hotel to everyone. Two nights in a double room were £116 (booked via Norwegian).

My single room was small and modest, but still provided all required amenities. A small fridge would have been a welcome addition. The staff was very welcoming & helpful. The breakfast buffet is included in the room rate, and provides a great array of breakfast options. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs & bacon, the smoked salmon, the collection of cold meats & cheese and the fresh fruit. Cereal was also available. Cookies, hot drinks & juice are available day-round. The closest bus & tram stop is Stenpiren. At the Stenpiren travel center, you'll find a shop selling bus tickets and an ATM. The closest supermarket is ICA on Rosenlundsgatan.

Great place to stay. Comfortable clean room. Friendly helpful staff. Great choice at breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel. Very reasonable price for central Gothenburg. Must stay venue. Would go back

If you are looking for a large room with a view, look elsewhere. This is a simple, small hotel that offers the essentials at a reasonable price. Rooms are small, but quiet and clean. Beds are small, but comfortable. Bathroom is small, but modern and clean. Breakfast is appropriate, at least by Swedish standards. Fresh and tasty. Tea, coffee, biscuits and rolls are available in the lounge throughout the day. In the evening you can even make your own waffles. The staff is friendly. Location is ok, just a short walk to trams and buses. Nothing to complain about, really.
