Hotel Vasa, BW Signature Collection

Spent one night here since I have friends in the neighbourhood. Very friendly staff, big clean rooms, comfortable beds. Breakfast rather basic but scrambled eggs were good. Ask for a room facing the courtyard - its a bit more quiet. Several tram lines nearby so good communications and walking distance to the centre.

Very cozy and nicely renovated hotel (the charm of old building is still there). The coffee & juice machines were nice but maybe add electric kettle too. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was nicely decorated and I liked that the bathroom was more modern. Location was great for my purpose of travel and the tram stops were close too. I enjoyed my stay very much and would stay again!

We stayed at Hotel Vasa as part of our visit to Gothenberg Christmas Markets. We chose it because of the price and the location and were happy with both. The hotel has a nice reception and dining area downstairs with a mezonine level dining area/library which was lovely. The hotel has a lift so was very convenient for us staying on the higher floor. The room was small and basic but pretty clean and we found the bed to be very comfortable. There are blackout curtains and we had absolutely no noise from outside (or in) so we slept very well. The bathroom was small yet functional and clean with a nice shower and handy heated towel rail and heated floor. The breakfast selection was pretty good we thought, with choices covering all tastes whether hot or cold and unlimited juice and coffee 24/7 (as there are no drinks facilities in the rooms). Location was excellent for Vasa shopping area in 5 minutes walk and the bottom of town to get to the food market took no more that 10 minutes walk. We found three good bars near by for late night drinks and food was readily available to suit all tastes and budgets in Vasa and the town itself. Trams are regular and very easy to use (use the To Go app) so we had no problem getting around. The star of the hotel just had to be the staff (especially Hannah) who were so helpful with our travel plans, our stay, looking after our bags after checkout and going that extra mile to help. Yes, some of the public areas (like near the lift) looked a bit tired on the paintwork and wood but were not bad enough to call a problem. Overall we loved our stay and would certainly stay there again should we return to Gothenberg.

Perfect location, amazing and welcoming staff, and delicious breakfast. Rooms were warm, cozy, and comfortable. All the best spots around were in a walking distance, trams and busses right next to the hotel. Pubs and little shops also nearby. Perfect stay, considering first time in this city!

Location: 5/5 Cleaning: 3/5 Condition: 2/5 Staff: 4/5 Price: 4/5 We came to Gothenburg on a weekend-trip and chose this Hotel to be close to the central city and our friends we were meeting. The first impression of the hotel is that it would be ok, which it was. The hotel is ok for its price and its location. However, there were some flaws. The room we got on the third floor was incredibly dark. It had dark floors, dark walls and bad lightning. There was no soap dispenser for the basin and there were two light bulbs missing. In the bed there were big yellow hard stains on the bedcover so we threw that away. There were no safety box and no mini-fridge. The breakfast was very crammed up and small. Nothing that annoys me, but I know it annoys others.

Another lovely stay at the Vasa hotel. I really like this place, its location is brilliant and the staff , particularly the front desk are very welcoming and ready to help in any way they can. The rooms are clean and as some have already mentioned a little dated, but I think that's part of the charm in a gorgeous old building . God forbid a Scandic new build feel ever permeates these walls. The breakfast was better this visit , a large selection of pretty healthy offerings including traditional hotel fair. One huge plus here is that there is free tea and coffee around the clock plus a waffle machine with all the bells and whistles to use if you fancy a fika . That's a really nice touch and great if you're on a budget ! I keep trying to book this hotel when I'm in town with the family and it's always booked out =) I can see why . Great location , value for money and staff that make this place hard to beat for city, business or family getaways .

Good location in the centre of the city. Walking distance to green space and to major sightseeings, as well as many buildings of the University of Göteborg. The hotel is in a renovated building. My room on the back was quiet and up to standard, but noise insulation from noisy neighbours in the corridor is not good. The elevator is old and small. I always used the stairs. Breakfast buffet is sufficiently diverse and of good quality. The room is small, but there is a mezzanine in case there are too many people.

Hubby and I left Stockholm and stayed here for a couple of days. Perfectly located. Warm welcome. Daily cleaning of room. The room is lovely, warm. Has tv with good channels. Soap, shampoo, towels etc. Lovely Breakfast included. And during the day one can fika as Coffee,tea and sometimes waffles and cookies are available. Reception is sooo helpful, and very willing to make you comfortable, give tips etc. Just ask! They are VERY accomodating. My husband went back to same hotel when he went back for business. Clean, Light atmosphere. Highly recommended!!! We Will be back...again! :) Thank you soo much Hotel Vasa for your dedication and service!!

I never actually stayed here but I was visiting Gothenburg with a friend. Events got slightly out of hand on the arrival flight and I was lost, my phone had died and I had no idea where my hostel was. After walking around Gothenburg for hours in the pouring rain i came across hotel Vasa and the receptionist was nothing but helpful.. located my hostel and called me a taxi. I would just like to thank the receptionist as they helped my out big time (unlike all the other hostels/hotels I tried that night)
