    « A GREAT GATEWAY »

Spent 2 nights in this Best Western in Florida City. Great place, very quiet and cosy, clean and comfortable. From here you'll be visiting the Everglades in a blink of an eye or you can drive to Key Largo and further on the Keys. Breakfast is standard and we really enjoyed it (waffles, eggs, milk, cereal etc.), as we were very pleased with everyone we dealt with of the staff members (so many thanks). There is also a pool available, open till 10 pm. Loved it and really advise you to consider booking the Gateway.

« Bargain hotel at entrance to Everglades. »

Stayed here two nights after getting rained out of the Keys. Typical Best Western facility. Great breakfast included. Room could use better acoustics (I'm a light sleeper.) and carpet had some stains. Staff was very helpful

« Good stop before driving to Key West »

The hotel was clean and comfortable, just one block off US 1 the only road thru the Keys. Free breakfast and coffee and on the road before the traffic starts on US 1. A restaurant is next door so no need to drive for dinner.

« Good Location for Everglades and Biscayne National Parks »

This hotel is in a great location near one of the entrances to Everglades National Park and also to the entrance of Biscayne National Park. The check in process was quick. This is an older property (outside doors, no elevators) that has been updated. The lobby is really bright and open and the rooms had newer beds that were very comfortable (our sheets were a little worn, but very clean). Breakfast was good, with the usual choices (cereal, yogurt, fruit), and they had scrambled eggs. I thought this hotel was a great value in a good location for the activities we had planned. We would definitely stay here again.

« I no longer trust the Best Western brand, will never stay at another Best Western and will encourage family/friends to s »

I no longer trust the Best Western brand, will never stay at another Best Western and will encourage family/friends to stay elsewhere. Low quality stay, not worth the money. You can hear every noise off the street. The night we stayed there was a 2.5 hour disruption right outside our door from 10pm-12:30am. Police took more than an hour to arrive and another 1hr+ to resolve the conflict. The conflict included a threat and we were afraid to leave the room. Best Western did a terrible job of addressing the issue with guests. We did not even receive an apology and were told only a $20 credit could be offered. They denied a credit to the neighboring guest room entirely!

    3
« Convenient to the Everglades and Biscayne. »

We stayed at the Best Western in order to visit Everglades and Biscayne National Parks. The property worked well for this purpose, as it is a short distance from the road to both Parks. As for the property itself, the bed mattress needs replacement--it was soft and a bit lumpy--and the bathroom door was difficult to close without shoving it. The breakfast was adequate. I wish they served prepared oatmeal rather than packaged. I loved the oranges and bananas provided, but cut up fruit would also have been good.

« Affordable, clean and great stop over »

The front desk lady was amazing. We called ahead to let them know we were coming in late that night and she switched us to a bottom floor room. She was also able to get us a rollaway bed on short notice. The breakfast in the morning was more than adequate to get us going. I liked the little coffee maker they had in the room. Was not too weak. The room , pool , and grounds were very clean. You could tell the room had been just painted because there were still strips of tape edging the areas just painted in some spots. My only personal complaint was the beds were way to hard for me. But the kids and hubby were able to sleep. The AC in the room was very efficient.

    4
« Close to the keys, affordable and clean »

This is a smaller, older motel, but very well kept, clean and really affordable. It's closest motel to the keys, which make it much more affordable. They have a beautiful pool area with a hot tub. The free breakfast started our day off right. Be careful with directions, as computer generated directions got other folks lost, it's just one block off US1.

« Nice hotel for exploring Miami »

We stayed 2 nights after a trip down to Key West. We used it as a home base for a day into Miami Beach. Traffic was bad getting into the city but it was nice not staying in the middle of the hustle of a big city. The pool area is lovely and private. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room was really crowded making seating a challenge. You can sit outside by the pool however. They kept things restocked at the breakfast area. Great service. Only downside was not enough places to charge our devices. Would recommend.

« Wonderful stop before to rest a night before you head down to Key West »

I really enjoyed this Best Western. It was extremely easy to find, the check-in and check-out were easy, and it was a lovely place to stay overnight before heading down to Key West. I would highly recommend this place!

« Great spot for access to the Everglades and the Keys »

We picked this location because of the easy access to the Everglades NP and also the Keys. Lots of restaurants in the area and we found a couple that we thought were great. Highly recommend this hotel for its location.

    4
« Great Everglades East Location »

Not many of the 3 stars in the area of value. Get this one if you can if you want that level of quality after sweating in the Everglades for the day. Don't get me wrong, I like the park, but when you are used to A/C and clean sheets this is a nice retreat. I give it a solid good. Everything works. Staff will remedy problems. (We had a mix up on cleaning but it was remedied when reported) Laundromat convenient and used. Location is worthwhile because you can do a lot of driving in and out of the park. Breakfast borders on marginal. Suggest scoping it before if you plan to make it your major meal and skipping lunch and doing the park for the day.

    « great stay! »

had a fantastic stay at the BW Gateway to the Keys. Very clean room, crisp, clean, fresh and updated property with a good solid breakfast and plenty of restaurants walking distance. Great pool area with lots of deck space.

« Nice room, good services »

Perfect location for visiting Key west and Everglades. Rooms are clean with enough space and very good breakfast. Around is good posibility to take a fine dinner . I can recommend it also for good services and sympatic staff.

    « Clean nice room »

We just needed an over night after flying in before moving on to our final location. The rooms were clean and modern. Pretty good size too. We didnt make use of the pool or breakfast. We walked through the breakfast area and it looked pretty standard. My husband wanted something more substantial. We would definately stay again

« Solid choice, good price »

My family, 2 adults 2 kids, spent 2 nights here to see the Everglades. Location is excellent on Rt1. Hotel appears clean and modern. Checkin was super quick and efficient. Room was standard sized and clean. Bathroom had above-average fixtures. There was an additional sink/counter right outside the bathroom which was handy when 4 people are getting ready in the morning. Good free wifi. Good cable TV. Very comfy beds. Pool looked above average for this class of hotel. Breakfast was above average ... waffle maker, eggs, bagels, yogurt etc. Coffee machine was so-so. Plenty of staff cleaning tables and keeping food stocked. Price was very reasonable for what you get. Definitely recommend.

« On our way to the Keys »

We stopped here on our way to the Keys. I had a package that was to be delivered to the hotel. As soon got mom a I got there they had my package. I had talk to Roger about the package and needing a ground floor, both of those thing were taken care of.(Thank you). They had a great pool area. The check in and out was easy. Breakfast was good.

    « Excellent stay. »

Stayed one night with granddaughter. Room was clean and nice. Staff was very friendly, great breakfast. Internet was also fast which is not typical for hotels. Will stay again. Location is right at entrance to upper keys, so very convenient.

    5
« Great place to stay »

I often stay here for business. My stay is always pleasurable. The rooms are always clean, beds are comfortable, convenient Wi-Fi access and breakfast. The pool is certainly a plus. I would highly recommend staying here whether on business or pleasure.

« Great hotel between keys and Everglades »

Enjoyed our brief stay. It was clean, well maintained, staff was friendly and good breakfast! Hot tub was welcoming clean n a cool night. We were greeted at the front desk with a smile . We found it convenient for a visit to Everglades or the Keys

« Nice Exterior But Rooms in Need of Maintenance »

I tried to fairly judge this hotel based on the area it is in and the standard of other hotels in the vicinity. Despite being located in an economically depressed area, the hotel is painted a bright cheerful color on the outside and lobby is modern and inviting. The pool area is also nice. We had the opportunity to stay in three different rooms during a four night period at this hotel. The first room had an A/C system in serious need of repair and when we called maintenance the young kid did not seem to have a clue about the system or how to fix it so we changed rooms. I tried to explain to him that the very dirty filter had something to do with the system not working properly but he just shrugged. The second room had great A/C but the bathroom was a disaster. The toilet would not flush properly and the shower curtain would not close on the bent shower rod so water sprayed everywhere when you were in the shower. It was obvious that this problem had existed for a long time as considerable water damage was evident on the floor. The carpets in this room and the first room were absolutely filthy. White socks turned black within minutes. We left after three days but do to car problems we had to return a couple of days later. The third room had adequate A/C but again very dirty carpet and a toilet that would not flush properly. Others have mentioned cookies in the lobby and this is true. Cookies await you when you arrive. The area this hotel is located in has streets strewn with trash and a host of fast food joints for your convenience. Several other similar priced hotels are in the area as well.

« Night before the cruise »

Decided to get off the keys the night before we headed for the cruise ship. Sometimes traffic can be brutal on US 1. Stayed at the best western in Florida city and it was wonderful. Only negative was we were on the second floor and steps can be difficult for older folks.

    5
    « Great Location »

We had a pleasant overnight stay after a long flight from MA to FL. This BW hotel provided an ideal stop on our way to Key West. As a budget hotel, it is worth the $$. The room was well prepared and clean. The lobby was bright and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was adequate with warm eggs, sausages and waffle maker. The stuff was very friendly. The surrounding area appears safe. I like the fact that the hotel was not directly on the US-1 and there was no traffic noise. The only negative was the construction outside of the lobby but it should be completed in a couple of weeks.

« Great Overnight Stay in Florida City before Traveling to the Keys for amazing LOW Rates. »

We stayed here for one night in March 2018. I was a little nervous when we drove up as it was a motel. However, my worries were quickly resolved. The hotel was beautiful. The lobby was bright, clean and beautiful. Located adjacent to the front desk is a small but efficient breakfast area where daily standard hotel continental breakfast is served. It was clean and neat and nicely decorated. The hotel is shaped in a U with rooms around the outside and some facing in toward the pool. From the outside the kids were asking is there a pool, I said I am not sure. We were pleasantly surprised to find pool is in the center of the U shape. It is a beautiful courtyard area just off the breakfast area. A nice sized pool and hot tub. It would be a really nice place just to stay and enjoy for a few days. Our room was located on the second level. No elevator so you need to be able to carry your luggage up the stairs. Our room was a standard two bed room but clean, neat and well maintained. The best part was the price complete with tax was right about $120. That is a great price and with the continental breakfast included you can't beat it. Only negative I would say is that when I checked in on line, it asked what time I wished to check in within several 2 hour blocks of time. Since it was an option we chose 10-12 since we arrived in Miami on an early morning flight. Upon arrival we were told this was not an option and check in was at 4pm. I would suggest if it is not an option then it should not be listed as an option on on line check in. Otherwise, fabulous stay.

    « Short Stay »

We stayed two nights. Issue with reservation when we checked in, but front desk worker was very nice and handled it quickly. Also, was very accommodating when we had requests regarding the room location. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Room felt a little dated, but was perfectly fine. No issues with noise. Would stay again if I were down that way.

    « Nice Hotel »

We stayed at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys one night on our way down to Key West. The front desk staff was nice and very quick to get us checked in. The room was very spacious. The bed was comfortable, however the pillows sucked! They need to evaluate their pillows. The pool area was nice and clean. Breakfast in the morning included items you would expect to find in a hot continental breakfast. The food was good. Check out was hassle free. Overall a good hotel to stay at. They just need better pillows.

« Visit to the Florida Keys »

Very nice hotel. Interior was very clean. Granted the exterior needs a bit of fixing up, but still a great place to stay if your visiting the Keys. Spent three days here and enjoyed ourselves. Breakfast was great as well as the hot tub and pool. Will stay here again in a heart beat.

« First night in florida »

This was a stop over from a long flight from london . To marathon in the keys . We found it okay and booked in straight away very straightforward . Rooms were really big and had loads of eating places nearby. Woke up breakfast all ready and then a quick dip on the pool . Great first night in America really recommend it . Staff really friendly and helpful.

    5
    « mamakin »

The staff was very friendly. The property and rooms were very clean and had all the amenities we requested and more that we needed & wanted. We would definitely return! It was very easy to find and had excellent access to the expressways. WE thought it was awesome that they gave us an area map with restaurants, grocery/shopping stores, etc. Very useful!

    3
« OK FOR AN OVERNIGHTER »

Located far enough out of Miami on the way towards the Keys for an overnight stop. The rooms were clean and tidy but rather noisy. The air conditioning, fridge, ice machine etc made for a lot of noise in the night. The complimentary breakfast was a bit limited and at least double wrapped in plastic. So much plastic waste in this country... Just make sure you ask for a quiet room -away from vending and ice machines.

« Triple charged FULL PRICE on 3 separate credit cards!!! »

I had reserved a one night stay online at booking.com providing a credit card to hold it. When I checked in they requested a card for incidentals and upon check out, I used my Citibank. They charged each of the three cards the FULL amount of my stay. What a disaster as not only did I have to discover it myself upon checking my credit card balances but then I was on the phone for an hour and 1/2 trying to clear it up. There wasn't manager available even though it was 1pm on a weekday and Felix the manager conveniently ?couldn't be reached.? The best they could come up with was ?have your Bank call us.? My money was tied up when I needed it the most-on vacation. BUYER BEWARE, this is shady business practice!

    4
    « National Park Trip »

We stayed here four nights. It is so close to Biscayne National Park, and also to the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center in the Everglades. Then it is right on the highway that takes you to Key Largo all the way to Key West where we took the boat to Dry Tortugas. This is not a fancy hotel, but clean with a nice spread for breakfast. Also near many restaurants.

    4
« Good place at a fair price »

I rayed here 2 nights after camping in Dry Tortugas off of Key West. The room was clean, and comfortable; the breakfast was good - better than others I've had; and the staff was friendly. The price was good for the time of year. I was very satisfied.

    4
    « National Park getaway »

Convenient to both Everglades and Biscayne National parks and Key Largo. Great breakfast to start our days and nice hot tub to relax at end of day. Wished they had a fitness center but able to walk daily. Clean environment and attentive staff. Would probably stay again if in the area.

    2
« If you are looking for just above average decent place to stay, look elsewhere. »

We were there for 4 nights in March. The reception was just acceptable. The room is old, the carpet is extremely dirty and the environment is noisy. The pillows are very small and not comfortable. The room amenities are extremely basic, towels are the cheapest. Breakfast was ordinary. The worst is this horrible feeling that the carpet is at its worst condition. You just walk on the carpet for a few minutes and go to the shower...

    4
    « Great Stay »

Staff 10/10 Lobby 9/10 Room 8/10 Clean 9/10 Pool Area 8/10 Location 9/10 Breakfast 8/10 Recommended 100% For Homestead or Key Largo adventures. Short stays or long stays. Near Walgreens and several restaurants.

    4
    « Nice remodel »

Rooms have been remodeled/upgraded (recently I believe) and are very nice. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are large. Pool area looked nice. Breakfast was more than adequate. Very comfortable for a quite nights sleep.

    5
« Good location and clean »

We stayed three nights. Hotel was clean and well organized. Staff was friendly. Nice location for a short drive to the keys. (30 mins to key largo/60 mins to Islamorada) Room was clean, no complaints. Breakfast was free and hot. Same breakfast every day, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit and other continental stuff.

    4
    « Comfortable and Clean »

The room are large and clean at this establishment with plenty of clothes storage, a microwave, refrigerator and good air conditioning. Connecting bedroom are also available. There is no elevator so ask for a downstairs room. There is a good pool area and residents would take their drinks and snacks to have around the pool in the evening. Workmen also use this hotel but there is no noise from them. There is a fast food breakfast, hot and plenty of it. The staff wear gloves during first service time in there but they handle the food and then slide their hands across the back of chairs that customers use, so that defeats the object of food safety. The staff need more training on that and they work sooooo slowly. Having stayed for several nights at the hotel, I saw just how slow and laboured the staff are in their processing of rooms. They need a rocket to gee them up a bit so that guests can get n their rooms sooner. Other than that, all things are good

    4
    « Don't discount Best Western »

We stopped here on our way to the Florida Keys. The staff was very friendly, greeting us whenever we passed them in the halls. Our room looked clean, although I detected a musty odor in the room, as I am very sensitive to any allergens. We did notice a stain just inside the door and mentioned it to the desk clerk on the way out. He said that side of the hotel had been affected by the recent hurricane, and he would be happy to move us. But we had already settled in, so covered it in paper. The breakfast bar offered a wide selection of choices, among the best the we have seen. The only issue there was that someone needed to clean the tables as they were vacated. We would definitely stay again.

    « Surprisingly good »

My husband did all the planning for our trip to Florida, so when he told me we were staying at a best western hotel I was nervous. I just didn't think it would be very nice or clean. Of course I was pleasantly surprised by cleanliness, and my first impression. The breakfast was amazing and the the area comfortable. Across the street I found a bike/running trail that I felt safe running! Would go back!

    4
    « Would stay again. »

Room was very clean. Actually, spotless. We drove by it the first time as we missed the sign and the hotel sits back behind another building. . Room is large with a very comfortable bed. The only draw back here is the towels were not very good. Everything else was great. We were pleased they had fresh oranges and bananas at breakfast, along with eggs, sausage and other typical items. We stayed here before heading out to the Keys. The did not have a room for the night we came back . Stayed at the Hilton but preferred this hotel.

    5
    « Another great stay »

Our favorite place to stay when visiting the keys. Clean, well run facility. General Manager is top notch. Breakfast til 1030am is a bonus. We left some clothing items in the closet when leaving and the manager shipped them to our home without delay. Thank You.

    5
    « Fantastic Stay! »

This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in! The room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The pool and hot tub were wonderful- extremely clean!! There are also games available from the front desk to use in the pool area. Short distance to Key Largo. Price was perfect for the quality! We will stay here again.

    5
« Best Resort in Town »

The room was very spacious. clean and airy, The front desk lady, Isabella, was very helpful and accomondating. We arrived a little, so they graciously let us use the pool and enjoy the sun. This place gives you the resort feeling. Lots of chairs to soak of the great Florida sun.

    5
« Great place for a quick getaway. »

We had a lovely time during our 3 night stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage links, cereal, waffles, fresh fruit, coffee, juices, tea, oatmeal yogurt. Everything was the right temp & tasted great. The staff kept the dining area clean despite the crowd. Quiet & clean. Several chain food options withing walking distance (McDonald's, Denny's, Pollo Tropical). 20 miles to Key largo - easy drive.

    5
    « Clean and relaxing »

We ended up staying here for two nights...one before heading to the keys for a night, and after being on the keys because we loved the hotel so much! Clean, quiet, friendly staff and a great pool area!

« Perfect spot for Everglades National Park visit »

We spent three nights here, and chose this hotel because it was the perfect spot to access the Everglades National Park entrances at Homestead and Shark Valley. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. I always do a thorough bed bug check as soon as I enter a hotel room, and the mattress pad and mattress were impeccably clean---and they were even enclosed in bed bug "proof" mattress liners. The breakfast hours started at 6:30, which allowed us to get early starts to the park. We didn't use the pool, but it looked lovely. There is a Pollo Tropical right out front, which we found to be a delicious, easy dinner spot. It's in a busy, commercial area, but was quiet enough for us to get rest after long days exploring the Everglades. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend for any family coming to the Everglades National Park.

    3
    « Good Location »

This hotel is in a great location for visiting the Florida Everglades National Park. Rate were reasonable, rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Don't stay here for the continental breakfast, not enough protein choices.

    5
    « Very Fine »

This hotel was perfect for our trip to The Everglades and then Keys. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was also tasty. After staying 2 nights we went to the Keys planning to stay down there but because the prices were outrageous we decided to stay the third night here.

« Great Location on Way to Keys ! »

Booked hotel for 1 night stay on way to vacation in Florida Keys. Room was clean, service was good . Bedding was comfortable and room was well appointed . Location was perfect for stay along route from airport to Key West . Complimentary breakfast was also good .

    3
« convenient for visiting Keys when flying in or out of Miami »

room was fresh smelling but carpet was very worn in places, good basic hotel room, not very sound proof. Loved that it had a refrigerator and microwave and nice, large flat-screen TV. Pool was ok, tiny little pool towels. Free Breakfast was very good and included hot menu options. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

    3
« All wonderful but carpet in room 147 »

We loved our daily cleanliness of the room, the breakfast and the pool area. The only cleanliness issue is that Our carpet made our feet black. We had to wash feet every time we went barefoot on the carpet. Carpet needs professionally cleaned in room 147. Otherwise we loved our 3 nite stay.

    5
    « Great find! »

Excellent! Room was clean, spacious, pretty. Staff courteous & helpful. Location is great for Keys & Everglades National Park! Reasonably priced! Great find! (Hot tub was more of a cool tub -- we were only there one night & management did tell us about it & said they had called for repair.)

    4
    « Really pleasant hotel »

Everything was fine with the exception of a fairly noisy group using the pool/hot tub at 7.30am Sunday. Aside from that, the motel-type configuration is very good, big rooms, plenty of parking and lots of places to eat close by. Very near a major outlet centre too with top brands.

    5
« Oasis in Florida city »

Did not expect the quality of the the motel to be as great as it was based on the somewhat dubious reputation of that area. We were very impressed with the motel, it was like an oasis in the with a resort look and feel. The owners managers and staff have done a great job! All were very polite and very, very neat and clean. In fact best I have seen in the States. I think house keeper was Meaksia and room was excellent! Breakfast was above average

    5
« Gateway to the Keys »

Nice hotel. Quiet well located and served all our needs. Enjoyed our stay . Stayed here and drove to the Keys for the day and then back to this hotel for the night. . Excellent experience! We would stay here again.

    5
« Nice way to start a vaca in the Keys !!! »

Flew into Miami and stayed here before heading south. We had a room overlooking the pool & hot tub. The pool area was so inviting! The room was clean, comfortable & roomy for 3 of us. The breakfast offered was not just your typical cold cereal and toast. They had scrambled eggs, sausage & bacon along with a waffle maker to make your own waffles! The front office staff were attentive & friendly. I'd like to also give a shout out to the housekeeping staff who were also helpful & always had a smile for the guests. We'll definitely stay here again!

    « Wonderful experience »

While traveling, I got delayed, and needed a place to stop for the night. I made an online reservation on short notice. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was very large and clean, with a microwave and refrigerator as well as in-room coffee. Free parking and wifi were also a plus. It helped to relieve some of the stress of being delayed to have such nice accommodations.

    4
« Off the main road »

This hotel is off the main road and feels a little secluded. The front staff was very helpful upon check-in. I got a small snack at check-in for being a BW Rewards member. The room itself feels older but it is nicely updated. The room is quite spacious, too. We had a microwave and small refrigerator in the room. We also had real good shower pressure here. The room door opens to the outdoors. You can park right outside your door on the first floor rooms. There are a number of familiar eating places nearby. This is close to the Everglades Homestead entrance and close to the Anhinga Trail.

    « Super Staff »

Impressed by the staff at the front desk and the hotel manager. Our son wasn't feeling good and in less then 3 min the manager was in our room taking care of us and helping us with 911. Also when we came back in the room we had a nice surprise for the kids left by the staff. When you are not at home this little gesture like that makes the difference, again many thanks Jherusa and staff!

Stayed while working near by in Ocean Reef. Very friendly staff and very clean rooms free breakfast was one of the better ones I've had in any of the major chain hotels. I would recommend this Otel to all my business relations and well as family

« Great Place to stay »

This was a very clean and pleasant hotel with an extremely friendly staff. The location was perfect for accessing the Everglades National Park. They have a nice breakfast with hot and cold items. The pool area is very large. The hot tub was only luke warm. We wish it had been warmer as we were there during a cold snap. We were on the ground floor facing the pool with easy access to the lobby and breakfast area ( rms 112 and 118.

« Good location entry to the keys »

Hotel is clean, beds comfortable. Beginning to look a little worn. Staff friendly and pleasant. Breakfast has good selection and is hot. Rooms large enough for people and luggage without crowding. Room has refrigerator. Plenty of hot water They need to replace carpets -worn and stained but otherwise clean.

    « Nice Suprise »

Isabella at receiption was exceptional as a source of information and she was so friendly and pleasant that it added to our experience at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys. The breakfast was adequate and if there was anything else you needed, the staff would do their best to get it for you. Parking is free along with wifi. Hotel has laundry facilities which was helpful.

    « Excellent , clean hotel. »

This is a very clean hotel courteous staff. Would definitely stay again. I don't like exterior doors because people tend to smoke outside and noise. Our stay did not have these issues. Breakfast was good and the exterior was really nice for an older hotel.

« Great hotel 2nd time I have staqyed here »

Great location, spent time in the Keys and this was my home away from home for 3 days, we loved the pool, breakfast, staff the rooms were very nice and clean. I can not say anything negative about the motel. I really loved the pool in the morning it was a great work out.

Off the cruise ship from FLL & on our way home, we stopped at this BW to visit the Everglade National Park. Friendly & helpful staff. Very clean & comfortable room. Good breakfast with nice variety of food items.

    « Very Clean, Friendly »

We decided to try a Best Western Hotel on this trip. It is very clean inside and outside, Friendly staff and good breakfast. I wish they allowed dogs, we like to travel with our dog so we cut our trip shorter. Would stay here again.

« good option for visiting Keys after hurricane »

good stepping stone to explore Keys at a reasonable price. Friendly reception staff with nice pool area, but small and crowded breakfast room with limited options first morning. Issues thankfully resolves next morning. Great to have duvet covers, which improved quality of stay.

    « 4 stars for effort ! »

I m stingy with my reviews and my 4 stars normally reserved for BW hotels with utmost cleanliness, roominess, spaciousness of breakfast area and attentiveness of front desk/staff ! Though this hotel did not secure top marks in all the above, the efforts made by front desk do compensate for any shortcomings we had a room connected to another room on ground floor and could hear the loud talking by the family next door with the thin non sound proof walls . we made a request to change room and this was accommodated quickly. perhaps hotel should make it a point not to put guest next such rooms esp family next door with young kids I give this hotel 4 stars for effort as management does make it a point to respond to Guests grievances publicly through TA and this is commendable and conduciveness to complaints to make things right . If only all BW has this level of attentiveness - keep it up Recommended , value for money and for proximity to the 2 national parks nearby

« Good location for Florida Key travel »

It is a good location between main airports and Florida Key. Stay here two nights for a post cruise tour. The place is clean and quiet. The room is huge compare to the ones on the cruise. The breakfast is adequate with hot and cold choice. The coffee is exceptionally good.

    4
    « Nice Affordable Choice »

I was on the second floor with a standard queen room. Although this is a "no frills" hotel, it had a very nice pool and pool area and a decent breakfast (well stocked with hot choices). The TV reception was decent, but I couldn't find any local channels (I always like to check the local news/weather). Housekeeping was good and property was very clean and well-maintained. Check-in was easy with friendly staff. Key West is about 3 hours from hotel and South Beach is about an hour (depending on traffic). There are several restaurants and convenience store options very close. WiFi had decent speed and reliable connection. Plenty of hot water and water pressure. Microwave and fridge was a nice plus.

« An excellent "Race Weekend" location »

We have made this BW location our home for the past several years during the November Homestead Race weekend. In addition to the convenience of the location to the track, the staff at every level is friendly, respectful, and helpful - going out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. We have already booked our poolside room for November, 2018.

    5
    « Excellent Choice »

Clean and comfortable. I did not see any signs of Best Western name on this hotel. My GPS directed me to the address. The small BW sign pointing in tthe round about entrance is not visible from the street. Thanks for the hospitality.

« Trip To Key West »

We stay overnight here on our annual trip to Key West. The rooms are clean, though a bit dated. The staff here are not the friendliest I have ever encountered. Overall, if traveling to the Keys what this location lacks in other areas it makes up in convenience.

« Great Stay. We will book again next visit! »

we found this hotel online read the reviews and looked at pictures. and great price we were offered a membership card and that would take off 10% of the bill. overall we enjoyed our stay the bed was soft bathroom nice and clean. hot water. blow dryer was in the bathroom very convenient. Free breakfast and WiFi. love the whole experience. we had a great stay!

    « ENJOYABLE »

    « Unmatched Quality-Price in the area »

On the way toward the Keys or to just explore the Everglades or the Biscayne Bay, this hotel is well located in Florida City near many restaurants and services. Can be noisy between 2 major roads on each side but the other hotels along the same road are probably not spare either of the same misfortune. Breakfast could be upgraded with more hot plates other than the usual boiled eggs and sausages. BUT, the price compare to other nearby hotels just made this hotel an easy choice. The room was confortable and functional the way you expect from any on the road hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for any stay in the Homestead/Florida City area.

    « Overnight stopover. »

« Perfect place for our needs »

We were looking for a quiet, safe, clean place to stay near Miami and the Keys and this was perfect. They had a nice breakfast with eggs and sausage, cereal, waffles, yogurt and fruit. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The pool area was lovely to sit around and they have games at the front desk you can borrow to play. We played corn hole. It was excellent for our needs.

    1
    « Poor room »

Floor was dirty and bed was hard as a rock. Walking to the bathroom and back you had to wash your feet before getting back into the bed or putting on your socks after showering if you walked on the floor at all. Even sheets were stiff like canvas and very uncomfortable. Never had sheets like this before in any hotel anywhere. Maybe they last a long time, but these are not good for guests. Air conditioner was too noisy.

« Amazing Management Hired AMAZING PEOPLE!! »

I travel worldwide for my job and I have NEVER seen a crew as remarkable as the team hired at this hotel. We evacuated for hurricane Irma and this hotel was the BEST and had the only power because of their generator for many miles. Luz and the staff treated us with compassion and their facilities and meals were AMAZING. They even got their pool is immaculate condition within 3 days. This is a hotel YOU SHOULD STAY at. I am at the top level of other hotel chains and no one can touch the service and love we got at this hotel!!!

    5
    « Very Caring »

I'd like to take this space to thank you for your very generous donation of toiletries to the people in the Florida Keys who lost their homes during Hurricane Irma. Your kindness and support is great testimony to the type of services you provide. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

« An Oasis from Irma »

We spent 6 days at this wonderful hotel before, during and after Hurricane Irma. We live in Key West and had to evacuate. The staff was amazing. Management was so accommodating to our party. We had warm breakfasts, refrigerators and microwaves in the room and the best bonus, electricity because they had a generator. After the storm they were sharing their hot breakfasts with the first responders. We want to thank the Best Western for keeping us safe from this storm.

    5
« An Oasis in the middle of the storm »

I would highly recommend this Best Western! The people here are so accommodating. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We were stuck without power and the owners made room for us. Under extreme circumstances this a business with heart. A million thanks for taking our worry away!

    « Excelent location »

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in order to visit The Everglades National Park and on our way from Miami to Key West. It´s location is excellent, very close to lots of restaurants, to a Premium Outlet with really good bargains and to one of the gates of The Everglades. The hotel seems to be going under renovation, and the pool area is spotless. The breakfast room is a bit small and you should wake up early to get a place on a table and there´s no elevator in the hotel, so it can be better to stay on the first floor if you have lots of luggage. .

    « Hotel Generator »

I live in Islamorada and had to evacuate because of hurricane Irma. I checked in on 9/8 and am currently at the hotel for next couple of days. I have stayed at Best Western hotels for many years but this my first time at this hotel. Housekeeping just passed out a letter from the GM that was quite impressive, thoughtful and informative. GM mentioned in the letter that his hotel has a generator which will continue power including AC to all of the rooms should there be a power outage. This is what I find most impressive of the hotel along with courteous, helpful staff and I am very pleased with my room. Kudos to the GM of this hotel. I am happy to give a 5 star rating!

    « WONDERFUL WEEK-END »

A quick birthday get away and WOW this property exceeded all expectations. The facility is well maintained and the pool/deck area is absolutely wonderful. Everything was clean - the employees were very attentive and the breakfast lay out was very nice. We've already booked another stay in November. Sure glad we found this little gem so close to home!!!

    « Surprisingly Great! »

This was my first Best Western hotel since the rebranding and WOW am I hooked! We were greeted warmly by the staff with water and popcorn which was great after a long drive! Any needs or questions were met with friendly responses. There was a washer and dryer on the premises. A clean and awesome pool. A breakfast included the next morning. Quality all around. Clean and comfortable room!

« Motels in the keys leave a lot to be desired. Stay here instead. »

We were going diving with Key Dives in Islamorada. Keys motels are either terribly expensive or dumps. Sometimes both. We stayed here at the Best Western and commuted to Islamorada to dive. It took about 30 minutes to get down to Islamorada from here, but the cost savings made it worth it. We got a clean comfortable room, a pool, and an included breakfast. This motel is not really what I'd call a destination. It's more of a stop along the way. UNLESS - you're doing something in the upper half of the keys. Then it can be your base of operations. Look, I hardly ever like anything, but I liked this motel. There are a couple of decent places to eat in Florida city, so staying here is a good way to save some bucks on your trip to the keys. If I remember correctly, all or nearly all of the rooms look at the pool.

    « Excellent »

Very pleasant stay at this resort style hotel. Will definitely come and visit again. Enjoyed the jacuzzi and the quiet ambiance in the engining. AC was nice and cool. Breakfast was delicious with many choices to choose from. Thank you!

    « Hotel »

This hotel is the gateway to the Florida Keys and an excellent value for the money. The location between Miami and the Keys make it an ideal hotel in the Miami area. I would tell anyone to stay here. Key Largo is just 15 minutes away and Miami Metro rail is just a few miles north of the hotel.

    5
« Upscale Best Western - clean, spacious rooms and pool - close to Keys/Everglades and amenities »

We were very pleased with our stay here. The price paid for the location (closest town to the Keys in a suburban area) as well as the quality of the room, pool and grounds, with a breakfast included - it can't be beat. Rooms are standard American hotel rooms - very spacious with comfortable beds and clean and modern. The hotel resembles more of a motel from the inside as the pool area is in the center, with all the rooms facing the interior. We chose a room on the ground level, which was very easy access to the parking, pool and breakfast areas (this was ideal with a toddler!). Breakfast is standard continental breakfast - waffles, toast, bagels, eggs, cereals, fruit, drip-coffee, etc. You can eat inside or at the pool area. Location is great as you have all the fast food restaurants (a few sit-down restaurants), pharmacies, gas stations, etc. around you. Within a few minutes, you are quickly out of town heading into the low marsh lands of the Keys. You are also a few minute drive from "Robert is Here" farm stand with animals - a nice stop before heading into the Everglades.

« Very good hotel on the way between Miami and the Keys »

Very nice BestWestern with a very competitive price. My room was clean and looked almost new. I usually dont use the swimming pool in hotels but this time I did. It was a very pleasant experience. The pool is big and there is even a Jacuzzi.

    « Positive Family Experience »

The rooms were clean, the staff was polite and helpful, and the hotel was beautiful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I stayed with young children and they also had a very positive experience here. The pool and hot tub were nice and the provided breakfast had several choices each day.

« Best Western Florida city »

This was a nice Best Western in Cold gateway to the keys for a reason it is a good stopping-off point on your way to Key West. It has a great pool and hot tub all the people there were friendly including the guests. There is one issue though they had a full house and the breakfast line was long we never could eat breakfast we tried 3 times to wait in line for breakfast and finally just gave up because we wanted to get on the road

    4
« Convenient location for heading into the Keys »

Florida City/Homestead is not worth the trip in itself but you are as close to the Keys as you can get without paying the price. BW is located just off the road leading to Keys (far enough not to be bothered by it) behind some fast food restaurants. Decent pool surrounded by the rooms, you can eat on some of the tables if you want. Standard offer for breakfast including toast and DIY waffle, cereals,.... just around hotel all fast food chains you want, other possibilities need to go by car.

    5
    « What a nice surprise! »

The Best Western Gateway to the Keys has great customer service and is very clean and comfortable hotel. We got a great restaurant recommendation for our vegetarian family, and when we left something very important behind, the manager, Felix, sent it to us priority mail for free. So refreshing to have such great service on a family vacation.

« Great location, fabulous pool area. »

We stopped here for a night on our way to the Florida keys. Very nice Best Western. Clean room, ac worked great, had a mini fridge and wifi didn't work at first but my son got help from friendly staff at the front desk. Pretty lobby area. Fabulous pool area, pool water warm, we swam at 8:30 at night. The hot tub glowed pink. Breakfast was plentiful and well stocked. Very busy breakfast area but there was lots of seating. Would love to stay here again if in the area. They could use another ice machine.

We are still at the hotel, and it is great! Personal is very friendly and professional, every small problem we had got fixed in ten minutes! Breakfast is fine, the pool clean and pool area nice to relax. Specialy thnkfull for our housekeeper today, Misty, who came to clean our room after her working hours. She took the time and cleaned the room in a record time while also having a nice conversation with us! Thank you Misty.

Great location if you want to visit the Everglades and the Key West. Large room with very comfortable bed. Convenient with microwave and fridge. The air condition is quite loud but we where not disturbed by it. The hole building has been updated and is very fresh. Great pool area. Breakfast was excellent with waffles and hot items. Very good value for your money. Would highly recommend this motel. One of the best I've stayed in.

« Very good- but slight cooling problem »

Great value for the price ! Staff was very attentive. We had a room on the very end. There was a problem with it cooling down, the wall on the west side seemed very warm. The problem was possibly due the heat and the sun going down on that side. They sent someone right up to work on it the minute we reported it. Nice pool. Pretty grounds and landscaping. Nice Continental breakfast. Nice pool area. I would recommend this place !

At the end of our cruise, the 4 of us decided to stay over the week end in Miami and visit the keys. Our choice ended on tyhe best western and we were delighted we made this choice: -big ,Clean and comfy rooms - Huge yard with swimming pool and hot tub. -Ample free and secure parking space The hotel is close to restaurants, shopping . Enjoyed breakfast in the morning by the pool. It was a vacation extension to our cruise. Will definetely go back and recommend to our friends.

« Very good hotel to visit Miami, the Keys and Everglades Park »

We had a very comfortable stay in this place. The room was clean. The hotel is also well kept and clean. The breakfast buffet could offer more fresh vegetables. Also, for a 4 star hotel I would expect being offered ceramic dishes and real silverware instead of plastic plates, cups. forks, spoons etc. This completely took the pleasure of enjoying this breakfast away.

    « Great comfortable stay »

My husband & I stayed 1 night on our trip to Key West. When we arrived it was very very hot. Our room was located on the side of the hotel that gets the afternoon sun. Our room was really warm & we thought that there maybe something wrong with our air conditioner. When we let the front desk know our concern someone came immediately to check the air conditioner. It was working properly & We came to the conclusion that it was just going to take a little while for the room to cool down. We were offered the option to change rooms, but we decided to stay put & see if it cooled down. We opted to go to the pool & wait it out. The pool area is very nice. We enjoyed being out there relaxing in the pool. The same fellow that checked our air conditioner earlier even came out to check on us. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked another stay for our exit from the Keys. Over all great price, nice comfortable rooms, nice staff, good breakfast.

    « Fantastic Hotel »

My girlfriends and I took a girls trip to the Florida Keys and we wanted to avoid high resort Prices. For $66 a night ($75 with tax) this place is a steal. You are only about 20 miles from the upper keys and its worth it.Its beautiful and well maintained and has a great pool. Everyone is very welcoming and nice and they have a great continental breakfast every morning from 630a-930a. The rooms are spacious and we had a poolside room. The bathroom is a nice size and there is even another sink and mirror area outside the bathroom so there was plenty of room for us to get ready in the mornings. Highly recommend this hotel.

    « Great service »

I was promptly greeted by christian and Roger. They were both very nice. The room and bathroom are very clean thanks to Shameka. There's a microwave and a pretty good size refrigerator and a coffee maker and an ironing board and iron. However I did not see a safe. The lobby and breakfast room are very clean. There is a nice pool with a big patio around it with tables with plenty of seating. Shital was very nice at check out

    « Nice Stay »

The entrance to this motel is not well marked at all. Thank goodness for GPS. It would really be best to enter from Hwy. 1 through the Pollo Tropical parking lot. The desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with the television upon check in and within 15 minutes of calling the front desk, a very well-mannered and respectful employee came to fix the problem. The room was clean, had generous sized, but rough towels (I would recommend a little fabric softener). There is a full length mirror, refrigerator, microwave, table and two chairs, two sinks, and a hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, link sausage, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, and continental offerings. The room needs more outlets to charge electronics and the bed was too firm for my liking. The bathtub was very slippery and needs a non-slip surface. Fortunately, there is a grab bar. The number one complaint is that, although attractive, they really need to remove the hedge in front of the rooms. The hedge makes it very difficult to unpack and pack of your vehicle. The issues were minor enough that I would stay there again.

    « Quick stop over »

Stayed overnight at this hotel on the way to Key West. Was a solid, comfortable hotel. Internet was good, rooms were clean, well appointed and everything worked as it should. Would recommend if you were staying in the area.

    « Great stay »

This hotel really is the Gateway to the Keys. You leave the parking lot, turn right and you're on your way. Staff were so friendly, both at check in and check out. I needed help with the computer so I could print my boarding pass and the gentleman at the front desk got it all working for me. Rooms are clean, pool area is beautiful with all the flowers and the breakfast was very good. Lots of families on the weekend so be prepared, the pool area will be busy. But during the week, I ate my breakfast out by the pool and was able to read my book in peace and quiet. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

    « Extremely pleased! »

After several traffic delays and cloud bursts, it was nice to arrive at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the typical "free" hotel breakfast but was fresh and good. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Key West.

    « Wow! »

Loved this hotel! Staff is accommodating, even for a 1:00 am arrival. Yes this is the Gateway to the Florida Keys head south. Head west to Marco Island or North to Fort Lauderdale, Miami ! Freeway close no matter which direction you go. Room was large, we had two queens size beds. Bathroom was set up with one sink, bathtub, commode. The dressing area had a sink. Great for the two of us to get ready for the day. Love it! Breakfast was the best! Scramble eggs, sausages, waffles, toast, cereals, juices, coffee, cocoa the list keeps going. Dinning area seats singles, couples, families. Staff was very conscience of our . For the short time we were at the hotel, facility was quite. We were rested, beds were comfortable. Wish we could have spent more time at hotel. We were site seeing all we could in 4 days. We would recommend this hotel!

« Very Nice Hotel Remodeled and Great Pool area »

Very Nice Hotel Remodeled and Great Pool area. This was the least expensive hotel we stayed in on this trip and was second in quality only to a more expensive brand hotel. It is a great location for the Everglades National Park, and OK if you are driving to Key West. The Traffic coming back from Key West in the evening can be horrific. Not Hotels fault, but there were accidents that had US 1 and the alternate route 9639 (I think) closed at the same time. I would recommend staying in Key West and driving back in morning.

« Go to holiday express and instead or something even nicer! »

The hotel staff needs a great deal of training in order to understand that they are providing a service and they should have consistency and consideration for the guests to stay there. From our experience, you would've thought you were staying with people who are disenchanted distant relatives who think they can behave anyway they were in their own homes that is not pleasant.

    5
    « Excellant Spot »

Our three nights' stay was very pleasant and relaxing. The motel is very clean both inside and out. The pool area was like being in a tropical get away resort. We recommend a pool side room. The motel is located near many day trip adventures.

    5
    « Lovely, convenient location »

This is the second time we have used this motel. We have stayed in several in the Homestead area on our day trips to the Keys since the price is so much better than staying on the Keys. Best Western has easy access, being right on Hiway 1 at the far south end of town. The pool is delightful, outdoor with both early and late hours with a large patio and table area which can be used for breakfast as well. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the woman who stocked the breakfast area on both Sunday and Monday was constantly replenishing and checking. We will certainly stay here again!

« Great place to stay »

I have stayed in many best westerns over the years and this was the best, Good value. The room did not have that strange smell that they often do. When I complimented the manager( yes I was so made up with my stay ! ) he said that they had switched chemical companies and used a neutralising spray. Amazing that at last someone had owned that there is a problem and done something about it. Was given a goody bag each on arrival ..water and a yummy bag of kettle corn...so welcome after a long journey. What a nice touch. The breakfast was excellent and we ate it outside by the pool. The room was very clean and comfortable. Can't recommend this hotel enough. And I'm picky !

« Average rating for me »

Really nice lobby area greets you, friendly staff, rooms are pretty nice with parts of the bathrooms upgraded with granite and whatnot. Our room had some carpet peeling away from the wall, a screw sticking up from the floor transition (safety), and the shower/tub combo was in need of some work. What annoyed us most though were the pillows! Not your normally rectangular shaped ones, mind you... Square pillows. That were either hard as a rock, or mis-shapen and not with consistent feel. Want to roll over? Head falls off the pillow. Lovely. . Kicking myself today as I check out with a huge headache and sore body from contorting all night. Got like 2 hours of sleep. Should have requested new pillows, even though it was late when we checked in. But Felix... seriously, what's up with the square rocks as pillows? Do we not provide some soft pillows, some firm ones, for guest comfort? We had 6 or 7 what felt like bags of cement!! Followed that up with a very mediocre breakfast buffet at best that we didn't eat. Front desk advised that it was a great buffet, with bacon, eggs, the whole bit. Umm, it was meh tasting scrambled eggs and sausage that, well, didn't really look too appealing. McDonalds across the street ended up being a much more tasty option, if that gives you a sense of food quality. Again, not a terrible stay, but not great either. It's the little things. Average is a perfect descriptor.

    « Great Experience »

We chose this Best Western as our last stop of the day before heading to Key West the next morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms had double sinks, multiple mirrors, ample room to place luggage and totes. The beds were very comfortable. Our first experience was so good that we chose to return to this same hotel on our way back from Key West. We look forward to staying here again in the future should we be blessed with the opportunity to travel to the Keys again.

    « Fantastic location. »

5-10 minutes from Homestead speedway, 20 minutes to Key Largo, etc. Hotel was clean, comfy and had a decent breakfast. We didn't use the pool but it too appeared nice. Only negative would be no elevator so lugging a heavy suitcase up the stairs kinda sucked. Wi-Fi was decent as well. Also very close to a number of restaurants.

« Great Overnight Stay on Our Way to the Keys »

My fiance and I stayed here overnight on our way to Key West. The hotel was clean and they had a decent pool area. Although this hotel does not give the resort vibe I want in a vacation, it certainly is a great place to stay to break up your trip to the Keys, especially for the price.

« Overnight Stop enroute to Key West »

Stayed here overnight on trip from Atlanta to Key West. The hotel was in a convenient location. It is well-maintained, clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well-prepared and the dining area was convenient. Parking was well-lit, and my room was convenient to my parked vehicle. The rate was reasonable and competitive with other hotels in the area. I'll stay here again on future trips.

    4
    « Good hotel »

A good BW hotel keeping up with its standards. The room had a good size and the 2 queen-size beds were comfy. The bathroom was ok but had a shower curtain. Breakfast offered some toast, bagels, cream cheese, scrambled eggs, waffles, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, and different juices.

Great location for visiting the Everglades and the Keys...excellent breakfast and coffee and cookies readily available while enjoying poolside. Staff friendly and helpful, laundry equipment available and certainly useful for us. Great place to stay multiple days...

I have stayed at this hotel many times , I have never had any issues or problems at this hotel , the staff is polite and helpful , The rooms are always clean and comfortable , it is in the perfect location for business or pleasure in my opinion... « Easy access to Everglades National Park & Big Cypress Park »

Room was clean, comfortable and fairly quiet. We were close to the breakfast room so got a lot of noise in the morning as families passes by on their way to breakfast so if you want to sleep in, ask for a room farther away. Very convenient to get to Everglades and Big Cypress parks. Breakfast is included and was the usual waffles, eggs, bacon, breads, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. No elevator for upper floor.

    5
« Gateway to the Keys, Biscayne Bay, Everglades, and Big Cypress »

We selected this hotel because of the location and the price was very reasonable. It was centrally located as we wanted to get to Biscayne Bay National Park, Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Park and then run down to Key West. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. The hotel is also located within a mile or two of lots of restaurants and grocery stores including Walmart and Aldi's. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of options: scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, oatmeal, several dry cereals, yogurt, juice, coffee and more. One high point that we didn't count on was the big courtyard where the pool was located. It was big and spacious and most mornings ate our breakfast beside the pool. Then of course my girls didn't let me get away without swimming and spending time in the hot tub at night. Another thing I really appreciated was that the pool didn't close until 10pm which allowed us to go swimming even after dark. The pool area has very nice lighting. The rooms were nice and clean and well maintained and we had no issues there at all. The front desk staff was always friendly and always seemed eager to help no matter what the request was, be it pool towels, more shampoo or even checkout. All around a great family place to stay.

    4
    « Clean and convenient »

The hotel is simple, but the rooms are clean, which is all my wife and I care. The price was really good for that location. It was the first time for us in the are and we found easy driving to the keys and it was a great experience, we hope we can go back soon.

    « Great Keys stopover »

Needed a stop over on the way to the Marathon. Great value compared to Key Largo. Older hotel but nicely redone. Parked right at our door, huge pool, decent breakfast, comfortable bed and let me repeat, great value. Would definitely stay again if need arose.

« Nice hotel, good location »

We stayed here because we had a airboat tour in the Everglades. Nice location, close to restaurants and grocery store. Our room was second floor, no elevator. We were facing pool. Pool looked nice, we did not use it. Bed was comfortable. A little table with two chairs. Microwave and refrigerator. Bathroom was very clean. Sink area nice, but could use a new bathtub and toilet area. Area was very clean but could use a little updating. Lobby area was nice. Breakfast was the usual Best Western, clean and well supplied. I wish hotels would start offering hard boiled eggs, gluten free options and lactose free options. I always bring my own breakfast to the free breakfast hotels. My husband enjoys the make yourself waffles. The staff were nice and helpful. Free parking. Would recommend staying here. Located at the beginning of the Keys daisyCalifornia

    « Very Nice! »

Very nice and clean - staff was very friendly and helpful - the breakfast had waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, cereal, Danish, and various breads - was very good with a lot of variety for everyone - would recommend this hotel :)

« Great location for Everglades and Keys »

Located near the convergence of Krome Avenue and US1, at the southern end of Florida City. Older two-story hotel, direct room entry from outside. Pros: 20 minutes from entrance to Everglades National Park, 30 minutes from Key Largo - both easy drives. Good shower, two sinks, inside and outside bathroom. Pretty lobby, good breakfast, helpful staff willing to direct you to places in the area. Nice outdoor pool and hot tub. Cons: no elevator. We had a rather uncomfortable old mattress. Air conditioner blasted cold air right in your face. But perfect location for places we were visiting. No Best Western sign on Krome, but there is one on US1.

    5
    « Really good value »

This is a nice hotel, with a good pool, polite staff and a tasty free breakfast. It gives easy access to the Everglades, Keys and Miami. The room was large and comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

    3
    « Good for a short stay »

Typical Best Western in a ggod location to visit the Everglades or to continue a journey to the Keys. Charmeless surroundings. Difficult to find, as it does not show any name at the entrance. Rooms standard BW and clean. Parking free. Nice pool area. Breakfast has a good choice but an unacceptable seating capacity.

    5
    « Exceptional value »

Exceptional value for the price. Great location, personal staff, good food. Lots of space to eat, inside and out. When we went in to check our room it was spacious. One of our memorable "Wow" moments.

    4
« Great Place to Stay »

We stayed here on our way to Key West. What a great location! The hotel is very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pool looked very clean and the patio area around the pool is relaxing. They had good breakfast options, it is not a full hot breakfast, but definitely above the free continental breakfasts that some hotels offer. Free wifi, refrigerators and nicely decorated. I would definitely stay here again!

    4
« Perfect stop on the way back from /to the keys. »

Met our expectations; late in early out. Great guy at reception, guided us to convince store around the corner. Decent breakfast. Nice with pool, didn't use it though. Aircon too loud, as in all places in Florida

    5
    « An amazing experience »

The Best Western Gateway to the Keys provided an amazing starting point for our vacation. Markoshia provided an extremely clean room as our housekeeper. The breakfast was ample and varied. We will definitely stop in again.

    « Visit to Florida »

Personnel at front desk didn't seem to care if we were there or not. The gentleman at the front desk not even a hello and was messing with his computer the whole time. The young lady checked us in through a bag of popcorn at us and had no further contact. During the two days she seemed unwilling to discuss anything with us. There were no television information papers in the room

« Great place to stay on way to the Everglades or Florida Keys »

Great place to stay on way to the Everglades (Flamingo entrance) and/or the Florida Keys. Nice Best Western with clean & cool rooms. Handy room location as we were able to park directly in front of our first floor room. Grounds were very clean and nice pool area. Staff was quite helpful regarding Everglades information. The staffs we encountered at check-in/out and breakfast were all very pleasant and the breakfast was quite good with several selections. Would definitely stay there again..

« Nice Hotel on the way to the keys »

Good BW with enough space in the rooms. Clean and in good order - looks like a good & professional & nice management & staff. The breakfast is also good with a lot of choices (hot & cold). Nice pool area in the center of the hotel with also enough space to sit down or for laying in the sun. We will choose it again on our way back.

    5
    « Great choice. »

Stayed here for 3 nights before heading to the keys. This was a great base to explore the Everglades. Clean, basically up to date rooms (new carpet I think). Good breakfast. Beds not too hard. Good location, with tons of shopping and restaurants minutes away. Good value for money. I'd stay here again.

    4
« A good choice in Florida City »

I consider Florida City to be an overnight stop on the way to Key West after a late flight into Ft. Lauderdale, so we are in the hotel for maybe 8 hours and I don't want to spend a lot. This was our second stay at this hotel and I think it is a very good choice. The rooms are spacious and clean. They have a refrigerator in the room, which I believe every hotel should have. They are located a ways back from the main road, so you don't hear road noise all night. The check in and check out people have been friendly and efficient. They have a typical hotel breakfast in the morning, but you can eat it around their pool, which is nice. I will be back.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

We had a great stay in this hotel. We stayed in this hotel because we drove to Key west the next day. For this reason it was a great stop. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly. Good breakfast, they even serve eggs and bacon.

    5
    « Great stay »

    « AWESOME! »

CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. AWESOME POOL: wide open space, tables, chaises, hot tub. Really comfortable and good location for moving about to the keys or to FLL airport. Nice Room on 2nd floor level. Good breakfast and really pleasant staff. Really impressed with the cleanliness and ambience.

    « Had one problem »

We really liked this hotel, easy to find, nice spacious rooms, comfortable bed, clean... we really enjoyed our breakfast the next morning, first one in over two weeks of travel that offered bacon! However, we were bummed that they wanted to charge us $10 extra for a ground floor room. We were traveling for 30 days with a lot of stuff, so we were surprised when they said we could have a ground floor room, but for an extra $10! This was a bummer since this hotel had no elevator. Left a bad taste in our mouth.

Love this hotel, staff, rooms, absolutely awesome . I have been coming here for many years. For business and also leisure. Location is excellent also. The breakfast is delicious and the room is cozy. I look forward to coming here every month.

« Excellent hotel for a few nights - Good Value! »

We stayed here for one night as the hotel is conveniently located from the Florida Keys and the Everglades. Late-night check-in was no problem, everybody was very courteous. Our room was clean and pretty large, as well. It even had a fridge and a microwave, which was very convenient for us. Breakfast is served in a room adjacent to the pool area. We were expecting some cereals, but were pleasantly surprised when there was a small buffet with bread, danishes, fruit, cereals and a diy waffle station. I'd definitely never seen that in a Best Western before. Good value, will definitely recommend this hotel.

    3
    « Key west trip »

Location was top priority when we picked this hotel and it worked out great driving to key west . The rooms where effiecent and clean! The breakfast in the morning was good. For the money we paid it was a good value!

    « Excellent Stay »

My wife and I just got back from staying here, what a wonderful place to stay for the price. The courtyard area is beautiful, I definitely recommend staying here. The included breakfast was great too.

    « Will come back!!! »

Stayed here for three nights. Quick check in, friendly staff , great free breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, waffles, bagels, fruit, clean rooms with room being cleaned daily. Really nice pool area. Two and a half hours from Key West.. Great stay!!!!

    3
    « Stay was ok! »

The lobby is beautiful only if the rest of the place had been updated like it. Our room you had to lift up on the bathroom door to get it to close. It was a little noise and they were very slow getting the rooms cleaned. The staff was very nice and considerate. They had a very big area for breakfast and it was fresh as well.

    5
    « Great Budget Hotel »

Best hotel stopping spot on a budget - just before the Keys. Great staff. Great breakfast. Comfy beds. Clean room! All at an affordable price. Polo Tropical is in their parking lot. Easy walk -even in a rain storm.

    4
    « Overnight »

Arrived late, check in was quick the room was very big on the first floor. Large bed, shower, storage area. Microwave and fridge in the room. The shower was nice and warm too. Breakfast was really good, a large choice of bacon, eggs, breads, waffles, cereals etc, one of the best varieties I've seen at a BW. Only thing that stops it getting five stars was the noise at night and early morning. Anyone walking past the room could be heard, but it wasn't too big a problem.

    5
    « Vacation unto itself »

So clean and pleasant. Rooms are terrific and bathroom is very nice. Breakfast is free and food is basic but good and nourishing. The pool is awesome. They have a hot tub adjacent. Plenty of room to spread out, chaises, tables/chairs, sunshine. Very close to mall and a couple of restaurants. Loved it and was so impressed.

« great value for money »

stayed with my family for one night. pleaty of parking, close to eateries (had nice dinner at Denny's). the reception staff was nice and welcoming, and the room was clean and reasonably spacious. Breakfast was an especially pleasant surprise as it was relatively varied and the sitting area was not crowded and included option to sit outside by the pool.

    4
« Good Gateway to the Everglades! »

Recently renovated and appealing hotel. Friendly reception and received a quiet room as requested. Clean king room, with large TV, fridge and microwave. Carpet would benefit from a shampoo-ing, but not too bad. Breakfast area over-run, good that they have a large pool areas with several tables to enjoy a fairly good breakfast of hot and cold variety. Adult beverage store, several restaurants in walking distance. Short drive to Everglades National Park.

« My family and I were on a weekend trip and stayed here for one night »

My daughter and I were greeted at the front desk upon our arrival and taken care of by Christa and Annabel. Both of these young ladies were very courteous and very helpful. we reserved 3 rooms. The rooms were all very clean. The breakfast was great. I don't recall ever having a breakfast like that at any other place we had stayed. They had everything you could possibly want including a waffle maker and scrambled eggs and bacon along with cold items like cereal pastries coffee. the surroundings including the pool area were also very well maintained. We will definitely be staying there again when we visit that area. Highly recommended

    5
    « Comfortable and Convenient »

Room & bed were comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Staff was courteous, pool was wonderful, location was convenient to my destination. Was traveling alone & felt at ease here. Would definitely stay again.

    5
    « My 3rd visit »

This is my 3rd visit in 12 years at this well maintained presentable property. The large courtyard surrounding the pool is a great way to enjoy a couple drinks and a smoke at the end of a day visiting the Everglades or top of the Keys. The complimentary breakfast is very good. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable.

    4
    « Miami Carnival Edition »

The hotel is one I would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Miami and looking to spend sometime on the outskirts of the Florida Everglades and the Keys. There are lots of restaurants and shopping centers within close proximity of the hotel.

    4
    « Weekend »

It was nice and close to places but very loud outside and walls very very thin I could hear people laughing in the next room over and the doors shutting above me. I wouldn't of been too upset but I had appointments in the morning and the noise kept me from sleeping.

    3
« Friendly on reception, average room »

An impressive entrance and friendly reception staff belied an average room. Nothing particularly offensive about it, but a rather dingy decor and a noisy a/c unit. A reasonable breakfast was marred by the provision of a processed instead of a fresh fruit salad. The pool area was fine and quite popular with other guests. Nothing exceptional, nothing dreadful.

    4
« Nice stay at a good price »

The location of the hotel is appropriate to my job activities in the area. The price is great for the quality and location. Room quite and clean. The breakfast is diverse and of good quality. The employees are very helpful answering questions and providing a good service mainly in the check-in process and during breakfast. It is place to return.

    5
« Absolute Bargain, clean and well equipped »

We booked this hotel for $76 for a single night in a quad room, this included breakfast. At this price we were not expecting much and had a wonderful surprise when we arrived. The room was spacious, modern and well equipped. The pool and breakfast area were really pleasant and well set up. The breakfast was plentiful and included scrambled eggs, bacon, homemade waffles, cereals, fruits and breads. Great place to stop on your way to the Keys as it is minutes and easy access to the US1. We stopped at the petrol station next door and sorted out a cool box, snacks etc. Highly recommend this hotel

The hotel is a perfect stop-over before heading to Key West. The front staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. The hot breakfast was delicious with many choices. Breakfast staff was attentive. I would definitely stay here again.

    « Very good value »

Stayed one night on route to Quay West. Nothing posh but clean and serviceable, basic buffet style breakfast included. Air con in room but had to switch off overnight due to noise. Some noise from people walking past door and overhead.

« Good pitstop for Everglades or Key West »

We picked this hotel to rest on our way from Key West to the Everglades and was not disappointed. Sure it is a little bland but the room was large and clean, so was the pool and breakfast was OK. All was clean and well kept so I would not hesitate to stay there if there is a next time in the area.

« Clean, inexpensive hotel conveniently located near Redland agricultural area »

This BW was recommended to me by someone in my orchid club so I booked a room for two nights to attend an orchid show at RF Orchids. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and the rate was excellent.

« Great Hotel for Accessing the Keys. »

Very nice hotel with restaurants all around it. Very good for accessing the keys and the alligator park. Hotel had a good hot breakfast, lifts, parking and wi fi, not sure if close to transport. Stayed here 3 nights with no problems.

    « Great Place! »

The Best Western Gateway to the Keys was fantastic in every way. Clean, comfortable, quiet and well laid out. The hot and cold breakfast (included in your stay) was really good. The staff were very nice. Each one acknowledged us every time. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone of any age. NOTE: TomTom GPS is incorrect. It takes you to a vacant lot. Keep going another couple of miles and you will find it.

    « Affordable »

Good stay with great rates. It's cheaper to stay for more than 3 nights and you can get a deal. Breakfast was good and rooms were comfortable. The pool was decent and the hot tub is a plus. Would recommend for a stay on a tight budget.

Whether heading to the Florida Keys, or just touring south florida, This hotel is a must stay. Clean, affordable, the staff here is awesome and made me feel like I was staying with Family ( Good Family), lol. The breakfast is a real breakfast full of a great selection,

    « Leaking roof »

When we checked in, the room looked clean with all the basic amenities. The ?surprise? came when the people in the above room took shower at night. The roof in the bathroom, just along the edge of the tub, started to drip water from above. We had to put towels around the tub to capture the water. Since it was late, we did not call housekeeping. But, when I mentioned the problem to the front desk when I checked out, the lady did not seem to care; I don't recall if she even apologize for the inconvenience. We thought Best Western is better than the other 2* hotel, but apparently not.

« Clean and Well Kept »

This is the second time we have stayed here and we love it! We used this as our "home base" and took day trips to the many attractions in the area. This hotel is very clean, well maintained, and affordable. The staff was very friendly and the free hot breakfast was above average. There is also a very nice pool area and hot tub.

    4
« BW, always a comfortable reliable standard! »

This hotel is a similar standard to comparable BW's. What stood out is the assistance of the staff. A special mention for Annabelle at the reception desk. Her advice and courtesy was a big plus. The hotel was in a good location for driving down and back through the Everglades.

    « Great stay »

We've stayed at this hotel about 4-5 times now. This is a great place for our families to meet up and stay for the weekend. They have great service, the rooms are nice, the pool is great and they have a complimentary breakfast. It's the very best value for your money!

    « Next stop...the Keys »

We decided to stay in Florida City, as it was just before the Keys. We live on the North Gulf Coast of Florida and only wanted a day experience in the Keys. We had a hot breakfast and then headed out to the Keys for the day. Florida City was the logical stop for us, as we didn't incur an additional 21/2 hour trip on our way home, than if we decided to stay in Key West.

    5
« It's what it says it is. A gateway »

I came for one night, stayed three. The staff were all very helpful in reception especially Sabrina who became my IT advisor and set up my iPad twice in order that it worked to my satisfaction. All staff in reception were very knowledgeable of the area and places to visit. I went to Key West from here and back in a day, possibly didn't do KW justice and if you want to avoid a 2 - 2 1/2 HR drive then I suggest staying overnight nearer but BW Gateway gave me reasonably priced access to all sorts of things. Support staff were good but we're not quite as friendly as those at BW West Palm Beach but the latter set a very high bar. The pool area was very good and the room again was spotless, well done. Breakfast was more than adequate in my opinion and again the dining room was always clean and well stocked. The three Best Western I stayed at so far Orlando Conference Centre, West Palm Beach and Gateway to the Keys have by their professionalism resulted in my sticking with the chain. Things don't look so good at my latest but let's see after I've stayed the night.

    4
« Gateway to the Keys and Everglades »

This hotel is conveniently located at the south end of Homestead/Florida City and is a good place to stay if you plan to visit the Everglades before heading to the Florida Keys. Nicely updated older motel with all-around good attributes. Nicely landscaped. Good breakfast times and variety of food. Nice pool with lots of room to lounge. I was not very fond of the fact that they manually imprinted my credit card information onto the check-in paperwork. Seems more likely that fraud could occur with this method.

    4
    « Clean hotel »

Would stay here again. The breakfast was good for complimentary continental as they offered a variety of cereals, breads, yogurts, juice, eggs and bacon. Pool was clean and the rooms were clean. Overall a positive experience and we'd stay there again. Conveniently located to the keys without having to stay on the islands.

    5
« Totally Exceeds My Expectation, highly recommended »

We spent 3 nights there with $70 per night (including tax, service fee) and it totally exceeded my expectation. I would expect to spend at least $120+ with similar location and quality else where. Location: This hotel is in closest location in Homestead to key largo (20 miles away, 30 minutes drive). Comparing to spending $250 per night on the island, it is wiser to live in homestead. Starbucks is 0.4 miles away, Panda express and best buy is 2 mile away. Room, service and breakfast: The room is large, with two queen beds which can hold 4 people. It has fridge, hair dryer, microwave-oven, TV, WIFI and it is also very clean. The reception is very friendly. I accidentally forgot my access card in the room and got another one within 2 minutes. Breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 9:30 am and it has a variety of stuff to eat.

    « Best Value »

We paid $210 for 3 nights and the overall quality, breakfast, WIFI is way more worth than $79 per night. The hotel has everything you will ever need, microwave, AC, hair dryer, fridge, laundry room. And breakfast is awesome. I would expect a $100 - $120 per night for this level of service.

    « Unexpected gem »

I found this hotel for a last minute check in, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality I got for the price I paid. Room was clean and well air-conditioned, the carpet looked clean, there were all of the necessary appliances in the room. Breakfast wowed me the most. Usually a continental breakfast at a hotel is of a bad quality, and usually it's a bagel and a coffee. At this Best Western, however, there was a full breakfast available in a buffet style: scrambled eggs and bacon (good quality too), cereals, all kinds of breads and bagels one can toast themselves, coffee, and the yummiest waffles that we made ourselves (kids LOVED to make them). Very nice hotel, if I ever go down that way again I'll definitely stay there!

« Great Place, Great Location, Great Staff. »

Let me just say that this Hotel was reasonably priced and came with a FREE Hot breakfast. The kitchen staff kept the eggs and beacon coming fresh and hot. They were very attentive to all their offerings and that was plenty. From fresh fruit to make your own pancakes and everything else in between. The front desk girls Christa and Sabrina were friendly and informative. They recommended a restaurant walking distance from the hotel. Please see my review for the Mutaneer. The girls told us to let them know what we thought. We told them the restaurant was horrible. They were shocked at how we were treated. After we left Sabrina called the Mutineer and spoke to the Manager. Who only being caught with her hand in the cookie jar tried to make it right. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. But, I digress. The Best Western Gateway to the Keys is conveniently located to the Coral Castle, Monkey Jungle, Fruit and Spice Park, History of Diving Museum and the Florida Keys for great diving, fishing and dining. This is a well maintained and very clean. We will definitely stay at this location again. When Checking in please say hello to Sabrina and Christa and tell them you saw them in my review. Management these are 2 Great employees your lucky to have them because they went above and beyond.

    « I loved it! »

I loved everything about my stay here! Except the wifi signal sucks. Lol The girls were great at the front desk. The hotel was clean, Breakfast was great. My next visit I plan to drive out to the Keys. I will be staying with you guys again. Thanks for the courtesy and awesome room service.

« Ideal spot for Florida Keys »

We chose this hotel as at the start of the Keys and would give us a good base to explore. It was a welcome site after our 5 hour drive from Orlando(!), bear that in mind if you drive down, traffic an hour each side from Miami was huge. The hotel is tucked round a side road away from the busy traffic. It is nicely laid out and staff were friendly and welcoming. Our twin bed room was very nice, although the air conditioning unit was very noisy and made for an ok sleep. We took breakfast which was pleasant and I chose to make my own waffles, which is fine but you need to wait 6 mins or so, the machine didn't work to well, so I ended up with a waffle stuck to the pan. The selection was good but perhaps we arrived to late as staff were starting to pack away. It is a right out of the hotel and then you are on to US1 for the ride to the Keys :-)

Christa and Christian were very helpful at the desk to all our needs.Hotel was very clean and accomodations were great. Very friendly staff and morning breakfast a delight. Only negative would be that carpet might be cleaned a little more often.Great place to stay.

    « Great Motel! »

This is by far our favorite hotel in the world to stay at. Every time we go to the Keys, this is the place to stay before or after our flight. The pool is clean and quiet and the breakfast is so much more than any other place we could have asked for.

« Best Place to Stay in Florida City »

It was great experience staying at Best Western gateway...Amazing rooms, beds, breakfast. Overall very clean place. Close to Miami, and KeyWest. Staff members Sabrina and gentlemen from evening shift were really courteous and helpful.

    « Key west trip »

Great place, clean, updated, good breakfast. No problems with the stay. My wife and I would recommend and wife is particular about her stays. We could find nothing wrong with the place. Only problem was not enough time to stay longer. They also have a person call for wake-up not a machine. Nice touch.

« Overall Very Good Experience »

Overall Very Good Experience as we stayed for the first time in this hotel. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast was very good. Very good location if you want to make a day trip to Keywest or explore other activities around keys.

« Great stay and value for money »

Staff and hotel was fantastic. The room was clean, tidy and close to the pool. The breakfast was excellent, especially the waffle maker, which the kids loved. Would love to come back soon. The area is great for trips to the Keys and the Everglades, also the Outlet Shopping Centre is 2 minutes drive away.

    « Snorkel »

Best place to stay when your on your way to the Keys. Have stayed here on two different occasions. The staff here are awesome. The rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. Breakfast has eggs, bacon, fruit and cereal. Will be staying here again.

« nicely updated with great pool area in a great location, central to everything »

We lucked into this hotel on our way down to the keys after checking out a few Everglades trail heads. The hotel had obviously been redone recently with a very nice lobby area, beautiful pool and spa and what turned out to be a great breakfast including hot items like eggs and bacon. We would definitely stay here again as it makes a great attacking point to the Keys, the Everglades or Miami for that matter.

« great stop on the way to or from the keys »

I've stayed here several times over the years headed to or from the keys. Its really the last affordable (or first affordable) hotel. Its an easy drive into the keys from here. Rooms are very spacious and clean. The hotel staff is helpful and accommodating of last minute and late night arrivals. The only disadvantage is the lack of elevators and maze like walkways of the second floor.

« Very pleasant stay in a good location »

See GERMAN below. We stayed at this Best Western for four nights. During the days we explored the Keys and Everglades National park. The entrance of the latter is super close and the Keys aren't very far so by staying here you'll be able to avoid overpriced motels/hotels on the Keys. The breakfast was very good compared to other motels. The room and the pool area were clean and comfortable. Oh and the staff was very nice and helpful.

    « Excellent hotel »

« GATEAWAY TO HELL! Do not go there »

We booked a room at the hotel more than 2 months ago via Booking.com After a very long drive we arrived at the hotel around midnight to discover that they had cancelled the reservation on the very same day as they could not charge my credit card, which was and is perfectly working. The hotel tried to block the room amount on the very same day of the stay, and not days ahead, as all hotels normally do. There were no more vacancy at the hotel and also in other hotels nearby, so we had to drive half an hour to go to another hotel, and we spent double for the night. The hotel managment did not admit that they were overbooked and that they lied when saying that my credit card was not working. Do not book there!

« This is what a florida vacation hotel should be !! »

Hotel was EXCELLENT. U shaped hotel with pool in the middle courtyard. rooms were clean, easily accessible, modern, etc... pool are was full of happy people on vacation. Check in staff was mid-20 year olds (Jesus?? and Christa). Both very friendly and helpful for check in as well as recommending food and entertainment. Free breakfast and wifi. I would DEFINITELY stay with this hotel again.

« You have got to stay here. »

Very good service, helpful reception staff, friendly staff nothing is too much trouble and clean rooms, no smoking rooms. Breakfast very good with a good selection and choices of food, Pool clean. Good overall clean and tidy outlook to hotel. First visit to this hotel would recommend to families with older teenage children as walking distance to shops and local food outlets. Used as base to go to Key West. recommend this for families.

    « Reunion Birthday Party »

Hotel was more than expected and staff went out of their way to accommodate me. I arrived a little early for check-in but they(Christian) took care of me. He made sure that he got me a room since I did look a little beat(8 hour drive). They were friendly and helpful for my 2 day stay. Thanks for the service!

« A gateway to the keys, just as promissed. »

Nice hotel, friendly and relaxed staff, large and clean rooms. Pool is somewhat small, but you probably only use it for a quick morning swim. Excellent place to start a one day visit to the Keys, if you get up early (2,5 hours drive to Key West) or Miami South Beach (1 hour).

    5
    « Great location »

My dad and I stayed at the hotel for 4nights. Went to key largo for diving at John Pennekamp Coral reef state park. The park is 20 min away from the hotel, with good breakfast and clean rooms. Beds were comfortable , clean sheets and quiet room. Nice hotel, will stay there again in the future.

    4
    « Good but noisy »

We stayd here for one night. The room is great, clean, big en well taken care off. In the middle of the hotel there is a little pool. Big enough to cool of a bit. The surrounding is excellent, lot's of diner options nearby. If you dine at Denny's you get a 10% disccount. Really nice.. Service at the reception is excellent.

    4
    « Good Choice »

Even though the area is not that great the hotel itself is very good: clean rooms, nice pool and hot tub, good breakfast and friendly staff! Wifi connection is working well in all areas. From our various Best Western experience in Florida it could easily qualify as Best Western Plus standard.

« Best Hotel in the Area »

I live in Florida City 5 min away and this is the place where my family stay when visiting. But we have to stay for two days after my AC unit broke an it was the best experience ever. It was like a mini vacation at a resort. The kids have a great time at the pool while Me and my husband enjoy the hot tub. The staff extremely friendly. Clean rooms with microwave and mini refrigerator, housekeeping no extra charge. Great restaurants near by walking distance. Free WiFi in all areas. Free breakfast buffet style and the service in the breakfast area was amazing: thanks to Tammy who went beyond my expectations going back and forth keeping the area clean and bringing the eggs, bacon, bagels, croissants, cereal, fruits, juice, coffee and more...yes Waffles and toppings too! if you have to stay in Homestead this is the best place at an affordable price.

« Last minute stop on way to Key West »

My son and I were traveling alone to meet up with family and the keys for mini lobster season. We were tired of driving it was late at night and we decided to stay somewhere last minute. My son goggled reviews for nearby hotels and this best western looked good. We paid a nice price for a king size bed, nice room on the second floor. We felt safe walking back and forth from our car unloading our items. Upon cheek in We received a coupon for 15% off dinner at the nearby restaurant . Which was very nice. Overall the hotel was exceptional for the rate. Also safe and I would stay again

    4
    « Good standard »

This is a nice hotel at a very good location. It's very close to the Everglades and the national park, and also a good starting point to discover the Florida Keys. The staff is friendly and professional. The room was clean and offers a fridge and a microwave. Unfortunately our room was at the rear side of the building. Due to the noise of the road I did not sleep very well. They have a nice pool area and the breakfast was all right !

    4
« Great Place to Stay and Great Breakfast »

We stayed a several Hotels over 2 weeks and this was the nicest Best Western of them all. The Staff - particularly Jessie - took great care of us! The Breakfast was very delicious. The Staff was friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and quiet! Great place to stay!

    « Shabby treatment »

I had reservations as a platinum member. My friends aren't and did not. My room was small, in poor repair. My room was a closet compared to my friends, a closet with a broken bathroom door. My wife became trapped in the bathroom when she closed the door. I had to pick the door up and set it in the pocket to free her. I reported it to the front desk but didn't make any demands, so they took that as I was OK with the substandard room. They took my politeness as acceptance for poor treatment. My friends room was nice. I am so disappointed.

    2
« On the way to the Keys »

We stopped her for a night on the way to KW. The rooms were clean & breakfast was good. However, the pool area was getto. It appeared tha employees were allowing their families to have have parties & swim in the pool. It was very loud & getto. Would not stay again

« Love the pool and hot tub »

I have stayed at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys four separate times and I have to say it is the most relaxing hotel I've been in recently. Christian has checked us in a couple of times and gives us great professional service. The pool and hot tub area are perfect. The hot tub is shaded by a tiki hut, the large area around the pool filled with pool lounge chairs, umbrellas, tables and chairs with palm trees shading some areas and banana trees with there large lush leaves all make it feel like a resort.

    3
    « Comfortable »

This is a nice little hotel/motel located near many attractions. The free breakfast is good as they offer eggs, bacon, waffles, toast and cereal. They cover the bases. The room is spacious and comfortable. For the price, it is a great place to stay.

    4
« Convenient to the Keys and Everglades! »

I stayed 2 nights to explore the Everglades National Parks and to continue down the Keys to the Dry Tortugas Park. I found this location to be the most convenient from which to explore by car. I had a large ground floor room with a sofa, and a separate area outside the bathroom with a counter-height refrigerator, microwave, and a second sink. The breakfast area faced the pool and the included buffet had the expected BW selection of eggs, bacon, cereals, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea, pastries, waffle batter, and hot oatmeal packets. However, what stands out for me, is the recognition I received at Check-In for being a BW Rewards Member -- I was also handed a bottle of water and bag of Kettle Chips for my membership -- this was a nice gesture. I also appreciate the "sanitized" remote TV controls at all the BWs.

    « Alligator farm »

Hotel is in a great location, easy to find, loads of shopping and eating places easily within waking distance or a 5 minute drive. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Alligator farm was 15 minutes drive. Would stay here again if i was ever lucky enough to be in the area again.

    « I'd go back. »

My daughter and I stayed there for three nights this week while we adventure to the nearby National Parks: Key Biscayne and Everglades. This hotel felt safe, was clean, efficiently located, quiet, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the free breakfast each morning: bananas, oranges, waffles, variety of breads, eggs, bacon, coffee, juices, it's a nice spread. The pool area is inviting and we'll kept. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

    « Beautifully renovated suites »

I have always stopped here when I travel from Key West to Miami for business. This time was exceptionally pleasant with the newly renovated suites. The attendees on property are always pleasant and helpful. Christian and Christa checked me in and Melanie was my housekeeper. All were very responsible and dedicated employees. The price is right too as north or south will be much more expensive. Be sure to take a swim in the clean refreshing pool. I'll be back!!!!! Anyone needing a good rest before the long slow drive to Key West should make this their stop.

    3
    « My Stay »

A nice stay at a pleasant hotel. Thank you Christa for helping me at check out! If you are heading to the Keys or visiting the South Miami area this is a good choice on a budget. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My future plans have me visiting this area again and I would not hesitate to stay at this location. Lots of places to eat, sightsee and you are at the Gateway to the Florida Keys.

    « Great »

This hotel has a great location to stay if you want to visit the everglades. Also when you want to go to the keys but it's too far to drive in one day. Rooms were clean and big. There was a lot of choice at breakfast when you compare it to other motels/hotels. Pool looked good, but we didn't get to use it.

    4
« Stopover to the Keys and Everglades »

We were 2 nights there. It offered free WIFI, Parking, nice, comfortable rooms and a cool pool area. Also it had a relatively big fridge and microwave in the room. It was about 5min. to the next Wal-Mart with the Car and it was great for a trip in the Everglades.

    « Business stay july 5th to july 12th »

I needed I quiet place to stay while I was on business in Miami. I booked BW gateway to the keys. I did not regret it. I arrived a little early, but early check in was no problem for the front desk. The rooms where kept clean everyday thanks to Rhonda and Sierra. There are also places to shop and dine like Walmart, Best buy etc. Adjacent to the hotel there was a Pollo Tropical and across the US1 there was a Denny's. I also took the opportunity to drive to the keys and stayed overnight. I was a pleasant 11 night stay. I would like to thank Isabella at the frontdesk for being ready to answer any question very friendly and charming

« Top marks for convenience »

This is well positioned so you can easily explore The Everglades, The Keys and is good for getting to/from Miami Airport. We found it one of the cheapest hotels on our road trip around Florida and we certainly paid more elsewhere and got less. Generous size well equipped room. Lovely pool area. Good range of food for breakfast which was included in the price.

    « July 4th vacation »

Very nice place. Nice, clean room & shower wrk just like home. Although, pool is a little small, but I'm not a pool person so it's ok on that note. Brkfast was really good. For the price I paid for you can't ask for a better stay. Also, the staffs are ok.

    5
« Very pricey but nice hotel »

Enjoyed the hotel. Doesn't look swanky from the outside but it is very nice inside and in the pool area. Enjoyed the breakfast but we found the money charged was way out of line. $250 on week-ends and $ 150 during the week..too high.

« Good hotel for visiting Everglades or on the way to Key West. »

Solid, reliable, well maintained hotel, conveniently located on the way out to Key West, or if visiting south side of Everglades. Excellent staff - always available to answer the phone, or random requests (even made at 2am)!

    « Customer Service »

Wow!! Now THAT is customer service. Have someone in our party unable to climb stairs. Sabrina at the front desk hooked us up without us even asking. She was very accommodating. Thank you, Sabrina!! The rooms were also very clean. Thank you, Jessie.

« Great stay if going to the Keys! »

Great inexpensive location if planning to go to the keys. Free parking. Excellent free breakfast. Located right behind Pollo Tropical which I recommend for lunch or dinner. Hotel is close to lots of other businesses. Quiet area. Staff were great, friendly, and very accommodating. Rooms were spacious and beds comfy. Only wish I suggest is that the pool would be at a cooler temp. Florida is HOT! We tried swimming later in the afternoon when it's not so scorching, but when we got in, it was so warm. Hard to cool down and relax. Imagine going in there earlier in the day when it's scorching...it's probably boiling!!

    5
« Very nice stay, well worth it »

Everything was great and the breakfast was one of the best. Nice layout nice service and nice rooms. Would DEFFENTALY stay here again. We enjoyed our short stay, we were just passing thru on our way to the keys.

    5
« Stop over from Keys »

This turned out to be an excellent choice. The staff were most helpful. They suggested restaurants for dinner, supplied me with a sewing kit when my husband lost a button on his shirt, and found milk for me after breakfast was over. The pool was huge, and lovely in the evening, after a long day's drive.

    5
« Stay here again and again »

ok, Tammy that does breakfast in the morning is the bomb...I started staying here a couple of weeks ago as my company is doing a major fiber project in the Keys and I plan on staying here for another 4-6 months and part of the reason I am staying is because of Tammy's smiling face and friendly attitude when I come down in the morning.

    4
« Great hotel for a Keys layover!! »

Renovated older motel layout. No Elevators. Nicely appointed with granite counters. Bed was really good. Good value. Do wish the curtains were more light proof, but I like it dark. « Reasonably priced, good location for the Keys, Miami and the Everglades »

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of July. We had previously stated at another Best Western in Orlando for the first part of our trip. The guys on the front desk were really helpful upon arrival giving us restaurant recommendations etc, they really know the area, although our room wasn't ready until 4pm. Breakfast was really good, much better than the Orlando Best Western (we finally got bacon!) and they even had things like cinnamon rolls which were a tasty treat. The rooms are a good size, comfortable and clean. We really like Best Westerns as a family and always stay in them when we come to the States as they are reliable and good value for money. There is no safe in the room which we found a minor inconvenience as it meant we had to lug our valuables with us. The location is good, about an hours drive to Miami (depending on traffic), half an our or so to the entrance of the Everglades and 2-3 hours to the end of the keys. Would have been nice to have another couple of days here to see everything! The pool area was always very crowded up until its closure at 10pm so didn't go in unfortunately. My mum did mention that the water is hot in the poo and very hot in the hot tub! Would stay here again and would recommend.

    « Terry's Review »

Great stay for the money. Great breakfast to include belgian waffles, bacon, eggs, juices and other continental breakfast staples. They also had a pool and hot tub. Located right before you head to Key West and out of the Miami traffic. Great restaurants within walking distance.

« Most bang for your buck »

The staff was fantastic and everyone I interacted with was helpful and nice. I spoke directly with the manager and he was great and accomodating. After I had trouble with another property down the street. The property with fresh cinnamon rolls ( h*****y i**) was twice as much a night and somebody tried to break into my car 2 night in a row. So I moved to BW and was VERY happy with my stay for the next 2 weeks. This is the only property I will stay at near Homestead Motor Speedway.

The staff is always there with smiles and ready to assist you. The rooms are clean and non smoking., It's great to go into a room that has no nasty smell of smoking. The continental breakfast is to die for. Delicious and fresh everyday. Pool is clean and we enjoyed our stay there. I would definitely stay again and i recommend this place. Not to mention the Manager is charge Felix a great person. The service from Shital cleaning the room, spotless! Thank you to all the staff at Best Western Gateway to the Keys!

We had to stop somewhere; it was late & we were exhausted. This hotel was bright and cheery and extremely welcoming. Upon check in, we were pleasantly surprised by the front desk staff, who were nothing short of fabulous. Room was great, breakfast was good and the hot tub was just what we needed to relax and help get a good night's rest! Will definitely be back.

    « A great location »

The location of this hotel was great, it was close to the Keys, and the Everglades. What made it even nicer was that the rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. The staff answered all of our questions about sites to see, and restaurants to eat at. The beds were very comfortable, with plenty of pillows. When ever I'm in the area again, I will stay here.

    « Noise, noise, noise! »

walls are crazy thin! We had noise from the adjoining rooms and outside. The noise let up by midnight, except for the occasional motorcycle going down US1. The room was clean and roomy. seating was limited to straight chairs. We did not try breakfast. this is exterior door motel.

    4
    « Just Right! »

This is a very adequate hotel. The rooms were clean, staff friendly, facilities well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and the convenience of our need to visit family in the area and shoot down to the Florida Keys for a day. The breakfast was ample with provisions, even with the amount of people utilizing the service. The rooms are no more, no less than what is expected. Daily housekeeping for the rooms was always done nicely. The only item to not is that the room is advertised as 2 queens and were most certainly two full size beds. I meant to measure them on several occasions for proof, but was too caught up in vacationing. The knowledge is in that we have a queen at home and my 6'2" 205 lb. husband and I were a much tighter fit in this hotel bed than at home in our queen. Christian and Annabel were excellent hosts in the lobby.

    5
    « Very nice stay »

    « 2 Day Getaway »

Check in was very fast and efficient. Room was great, food was better than expected. Would recommend and would stay again. We arrived later than expected for our two day get away, so hotel shopping was not what we wanted to do at this time. But in the end we were very happy with this stay. My husband is having eye surgery in a couple of days, so this trip was planned to take his mind off of up-coming events.

    « Surprisingly nice »

I tend to use higher end hotels, but was with friends that don't. I was surprised that it was very nice, clean and had a nice pool/spa area. We stayed here going down to the Florida Keys and when we were coming back and it was my turn to book a night, I picked the same place! Worth the money and I was happy to pay less then the high end hotels. I had everything we needed with this hotel! My very good rating is really good, because I am very picky. I was pleasantly surprised! Thank you Christian... I will come back!

    « Excellent stay »

Staying at the hotel was peaceful and restful. Staff was kind, courteous and helpful. The continental breakfast was quick and easy. It is conveniently located to the Keys and anything you might need (gas, Walgreens, restaurants...). Our room was comfortable and big. This hotel was perfect for our needs. Don't buy the toll pass...u won't need it even though the car rental place will tell you that u need it. It really is a waist of money. Don't buy it, just stay off the "FL Turnpike" and you will save $80...its that easy!!!

    « Excellent hotel! »

We had booked a Super8 hotel close to the Best Western. The Super8 did not meet our expectations and we were adviced to go to the Best Western. Sabrina was at that moment on duty at the reception. She did an excellent job and showed us the king room. We immediately decided to stay there for 2 nights. We were not disappointed. Great hotel, beautiful pool area, washing machines, good breakfast, nice and clean room.

« Nice little stop before the Keys! »

Older hotel, but clean and CHEAP, which is a plus on the way to the Keys. Nice continental breakfast. Pool area looked nice (though we did not use it). Good stop before heading to the Keys. Free wifi, free parking, no hidden costs.

« Good place to stop »

Like this hotel. Have stopped there many times since 1995. They are friendly and helpful. Older hotel but they keep improving the rooms and common areas. That's a good thing. Rooms updated and clean. Great stop on the way to the keys!! Great pool area and it is clean and a good place for kids to burn off some energy. Landscaping is great and well maintained by the staff. I would stay there as long as the continue to improve the rooms and keep them fresh and updated

    « Extended Our Stay! »

We intended to just stop for one night on our way to the Keys after exploring the Everglades. The room was so convenient to both locations, exceptionally clean, roomy, and pleasantly decorated that we extended our stay for another night! Christian checked us in with a friendly and helpful welcome and everything was great right through check out! By the way, the breakfast included bacon and eggs as well as waffles and all the regular items! We will definitely stay there on our next trip!

« ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HOTEL WE HAVE EVER STAYED »

We have had the best trip ever! I have to say that this hotel goes above and beyond to make your stay an enjoyable one! The rooms are immaculate and clean. We will be sure to stay there again! They work hard in keeping this property clean and tidy. Our room had a King size bed, Tv, Refrigerator, Microwave and free Wi-Fi. The breakfast was great with a lot of choices to start your day. Many stores & Restaurants in the area and great affordable rates. Its in a great location because we were able to drive to the Keys twice and went over to Miami twice. We will be staying here again!

    « Surprise! surprise! »

We stayed at this hotel Thursday June 9- Sunday June 12. I must admit I was very hesitant due to the cost of the room but when my family of 16 arrived (3-4 rooms total) we all were highly impressed on the clean, neat, well maintained rooms and hotel we had chosen. Christian was on duty and was excellent. We stayed here as we had tajen a trip to the Keys. I must say, if we would have known about this hotel last year when we had gone to the KEys, we would have saved our money and stayed here. So glad we stayed this time at Best Western,.It is literally on your way straight into Keywest. The shopping outlet was great too as we racked up on some unbeatable deals, especially at coach. Christian and Sabrina also allowed us to use the lobby to have a sit down lunch with the entire family and even have cake for my sons up coming birthday. Overall this hotel is unrated and should be given atleast a 4.5 stars. We are already planning a trip again. Thanks again Christian and to the rest of the staff for being so friendly. Oh and I forgot to mention that the pool area is amazing with grills and a jaccuzi, staff is friendly and your room is always clean.

« Nice hotel to stay in Southern Florida »

We visited Biscayne National Park and were planning on visiting Everglades National Park and had selected Best Western Gateway to the Keys hotel to stay. The location was perfect. The hotel was very nice - clean and updated. Christian checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. We got adjoining rooms poolside. Rooms were pretty large with a sink area outside the bathroom as well as a sink inside. Also included a small refrigerator and microwave. The pool was warm and refreshing. Lots of tables around the pool to sit and relax. The price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay if in the area.

« Cheap, Safe, and Quiet »

We were looking for a cheap, yet safe hotel to stay at because we didn't want to spend our life savings on a hotel in Key West/ Miami. From this BW it is approx. 2.5 hrs to Key West and it's an hour to the western side of Florida through the Everglades. Great location and more importantly, great price. If you're looking for Hilton ammenities or Hyatt schnazziness, this BW is not the place for you. All we wanted was a safe area, free parking, a clean room, a comfortable bed, and a free cream cheese bagel and waffle for breakfast. So if you're looking for a safe, cheap ($65-$75/night with the free BW membership discount), comfortable, and quiet room, with close-enough proximity to Southern Florida's tourist attractions , we would definitely recommend. Side note: Sabrina was very helpful with getting us the best rate when asking for additional nights!!!

« Best motel I've ever stayed at for the price »

This was a hands down professionally run and managed motel. Everything was clean and tidy and we'll kept. We liked our stay here so much we booked at another Best Western the next night, but wasn't as good as our stay here.

    4
    « Nice room,great price »

This what I have come to expect from a Best Western. Nice rooms and reasonable prices. The location is just what we wanted and it is the perfect place to kick off a weeks vacation in the Florida Keys.I would book here again.

« Breakfast deserves an extra star »

Choosing a big hotel chain usually delivers exactly what you expect, not more or less. However I liked the breakfast, they serve a few more options than usual. Besides, employees were nice. I'd definitely stay there again, but I'm not sure if it reaches 4 stars, at the same time I know it deserves more than 3.

« Excellent hotel for the money and the location »

Check in here was quick and friendly. First floor room with parking at the door was modern, clean, and comfortable. Free wi-fi worked well. Hot free breakfast was just what we need to start the next day to continue our trip from Key West to Orlando. We didn't use the pool, but it looked inviting with a clean area around

    « Great service »

Meine Eltern haben diese Hotel als Startpunkt für ihre Key West Reise ausgesucht. Alles top. A big thank you to the staff as well as the GM for having taken care of our parents. They had a wonderful golden wedding anniversary trip to the keys and enjoyed the service of your hotel. Thank you so much for your help to give them an unforgettable experience.

« A reasonable value motel style hotel »

This is a motel style 2 storey hotel. Facilities are basic but were what we required for an overnight stay. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and the price we paid was reasonable value for money - although the breakfast was totally inappropriate if you are gluten free! The room had fridge and microwave.

    « 3rd BW hotel in 2 weeks »

Back story I travel for a living I don't earn a huge income maybe clear $35,000 take home, but I set my own schedule, love my job & answer to no one. Since my income is low by most people's standards running my business I must keep expenses LOW. I been away from home on this trip 2 weeks now & have stayed at hotels 3 times all BW. I stay at a lot of hotels all over the country. This is my 2nd stay at this hotel. The staff is super friendly, and always smiling. The grounds were well landscaped, building looking very pleasing from outside, clean nice pool, clean hot tub. The room was very clean and easy to find. Vending machine w/snacks, another w/soda & water, & HUGE PERSONAL PLUS "under extreme heat" ice cream vending. All vending was reasonably priced & onsite laundry was $2.00 right at going rate very fare. Very good breakfast w/Pleanty of seating. One HUGE PLUS I find worth mentioning the waffle maker there were two of them. Most BW your lucky to get pancakes. I just did a review on BW Palm Lakes they had a waffle maker (the problem everyone gathers around them they are like the one good ride at the fair there's always a line). This hotel had two of them. Me and my team driver made one at once we were both able to eat our breakfast at once instead of one of us eating then standing around waiting for the other to eat. Another plus there was a man there who appeared to be a high up manager. The women who dose the breakfast was explaining how one of the waffle makers wasn't working correctly. The manager said he would take a look it might just be the magnet, but if it's not he would get another. Most manager I've noticed at hotels sweep everything under the rug (out of sight out of mind). The room was reasonably priced. I was worried w/location there would be price gouging. This hotel dose none of that I was pleased my 1st stay & now my 2nd stay if I am ever that far South of FL again I have no problem staying a 3rd time.

    4
« Great access to the keys »

Hotel is very conveniently located to the Keys. The hotel is a bit outdated. It's your typical BW. Pool area is nice although we didn't use it. Breakfast was busy but well stocked with plenty to eat. Front desk was friendly with information for tourists. Beds were comfy! The rooms need more plug ins however. Beware of all the stray cats, gecko's and iguana's. They are everywhere!

    « Great room! »

We had a nice size room with a King bed with 5 pillows, two sink areas with a small refrig. Our room was a few steps from a pool. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly and gave helpful tips for our trip. This is a great Best Western!

    « Dirty Hotel »

We stayed here for 1 night. Was not impressed.. My husband had lost his glasses had to look under bed and it was disgusting. We usually stay at Best Westerns but I would not suggest this one!! When I complained I was told the manager would contact me but have never heard from him even after emailing him.

I want to say that this hotel is awesome!!! Everyone was friendly , and courteous. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was great. However, the two desk clerks, Isabella, and Anabell , were superior in their job. VERY PROFESSIONAL, and courteous. They were willing to assist above and beyond to make our stay most pleasant. AWESOME STAY!!!!!

« To the Keys and back »

We used this hotel prior to and returning from the Keys in Florida. The greeting from the reception staff was very professional with a smile. We were a little early (2+ hours) but the room was ready for occupation and keys issued. During this time Florida City was experiencing flash rain, thunder and lightening (7 inch in 2 hours) so we were very happy to be able to 'Get out of the monsoon'. The room was quite large and was equipped with all items to make your stay comfortable - fridge, microwave, bath with shower, king size bed and free internet. Breakfast was the best we had in any Best Western in over 16 days in Florida. On booking out the service was again super slick, professional and personal. On returning to the Gateway to the Keys 3 days later we were once again a little early and yes it had started raining again. The male receptionist who we had not met before was very curt and as the room was not ready we were offered the use of waiting by the pool until 4 o'clock which is their official booking in time. Not very good service as to that which we had become accustomed to from The Gateway. We waited until the stated hour had elapsed and returned to reception. The young lady at the desk who was in attendance when we tried to book-in previously and her co-worker could not have been more helpful. Once again the room was very clean and all equipment appeared to operational. Hopefully breakfast will be of the same standard as previous. We would use this establishment again when in south Florida.

« Close to the Keys »

This Best Western is great for anyone traveling to the Keys and doesn't want to pay outrageously high rates, very convenient to Hwy1 with easy access.Staff were very pleasant especially Isabella who made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was good and rooms were clean and comfortable this is my second stay there and would stay again if traveling to Key West or any of the Keys.

    « A Nice Place to Stay »

We stayed at this Best Western as a central point for accessing the Everglades as well as Key Largo. It has been renovated and is in great condition. The rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is included and there is a variety of foods to choose.

    « Impressed! »

Spacious, very clean nicely decorated contemporary/coastal style rooms. Huge bathroom with granite counters. Full delicious breakfast included, waffle machine and all, even whipped cream to top my waffles. We enjoyed our breakfast outside next to the pool, which is very nice! We really enjoyed our stay here. Will definitely come back! Service at this hotel was excellent!

« 1night stopover for early start to the Keys »

Good service at reception, decent bed but the room was a glorified motel. Asked for a quiet room and was given one with a connecting door so heard every word from next door. Upstairs occupants could be heard walking about and the air-con was really noisy. Location was nothing to talk about other than a good start to our journey to Key West. Plenty of fast food places to eat but struggled to find anything else. Definitely won't be coming back and will be more careful in the future when booking Best Western. Didn't realise the differences were quite so big in the different hotels in the chain.

« Great place to stay for the area! »

The first thing that i liked is that the hotel is not really on the main road. The hotel grounds were really clean and well kept. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff was really nice and the price was great! I will be staying there again for sure!

« Great hotel with great breakfast »

Good hotel with nice, clean rooms and a nice breakfast..the location looks a bit industrial but i think it is the same for all hotels in homestad. The pool seemed a bit dirty but i think the dirt was from the trees around.it is close to everglades. I think we had a 30 mins drive to anhinga trial and one hour drive to flamingo park. One evening, we decided to go to miami for dinner and it took 45 mins to little havana. So very good location ( only if you have a car).

    4
« Close to the Keys »

We had a great time during our stay at this hotel. It was conveniently located close to the Keys. Easy access to Highway 1 to Key Largo for a day of exploring. Hotel was clean, staff nice, furniture was outdated but functional. Breakfast was filling.

    5
« The right place to stay »

If youre looking to visit the Florida Keys, let me make a suggestion. Stay at the Best Western, Gateway to the Keys. It really is at the gateway. Staying on one of the Keys costs mucho, sometimes, for just a room. At the Gateway, there is a great courtyard with pool, hot tub and plenty of room for sunning or relaxing. There is also a fantastic breakfast to be enjoyed daily, comp. The help is, very helpful. The room was roomy, clean, and functional. Fridge and microwave in my room. The rate was so low, i thought i was stealing it for the night. The location speaks volumes also. Between the Everglades and Key Biscayne, theres much to do in the immediate area. If youre looking to hit the keys, whatever milemarker youre heading to, thats how far it is away, +1. Im totally looking forward to staying here again.

    5
« Very good for the price »

Very clean rooms, nice surrounding. Helpful front desk staff. Half hour distance to airport, this is very reasonable and good hotel compare to expensive Miami hotels. Breakfast is classic best western and pretty good.

« Very Comfortable, Friendly Staff »

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times going to, and coming from, the Keys. The staff here is always very friendly and helpful. The rooms at quite clean and well-maintained. I usually get a room overlooking the pool, and have never been bothered by excessive noise. The breakfast here is standard hotel - scrambled eggs, bacon, muffins, yogurt, cereal. The hotel is near to a Pollo Tropical fast food restaurant, and several other fast food places. If you are going to the Keys, this hotel is on the right side of US Route 1. I have never had a bad experience staying here. The price is reasonable.

    3
« Great One Night Stay »

Stayed here on the way back from the Keys. The place was a little dated but the rooms where very clean and the pool was in a nice court yard. If you want to save some money from the high prices on the islands this is a nice place right before entering Key Largo. Breakfast was nice also.

    5
« Great location and great staff! »

If your heading to the key and want some place reasonable just outside the keys this place is perfect. They try very hard to meet your needs. They also make you feel safe and comfortable. The room are clean and of decent size. The location is great for shopping, restaurants and for people who love to fish, a bate shop is a block away. I really enjoying staying here. I have been twice so far and am sure there will be more.

Nothing to write home about. Cover the basics. Tend to forget to restock coffee supplies in the room, as an indication of attention to detail and level of supplies. Standard buffet for breakfast. Hope you get quiet people next door.

« Convenient to the Keys »

The hotel is easily accessible from US 1 and the Florida Turnpike. It makes a great stopping point when traveling down to or up from Key West. It is close to the Coral Castle and there are restaurants and bars within walking distance.

« another excellent visit to Best Western Gateway to the Keys »

Excellent visit again this year. Room very clean and staff very helpful. Nice to have pool available for evening swim by Grand Kids and wife. Breakfast was nicely laid out and great to enjoy it out by the pool. Front desk staff very helpful with directions. We will continue to stay here on future trips to the Florida Keys.

    5
« On the way to the Keys »

Quiet, clean, affordable and on the way to the Keys, I highly recommend this hotel as an alternative to staying in Miami or in the Keys, where the nightly rates would no doubt be much higher. Breakfast included, big variety of classic fare, such as waffle station, eggs, cereals, toast, fruit, muffins and beverages. You can sit outside poolside while enjoying your meal and coffee. I will be staying here again next time I plan my trip to Miami and the Keys!

    5
« Yearly Key West trip »

Been coming here on my Key West trip for 5 years. This has become a routine on our bike ride down every year. Breakfast is great. After a long day on a motorcycle, the pool is perfect. Clean room, made up in the morning, House keeping is great and should get 5 stars. Breakfast is good.

    5
« Great Price and location »

The staff here are great. Great choices for breakfast. Management was very helpful to work around our needs. The only drawback was the price to do laundry on site yourself. Other than that my stay was great.

    4
« good stay for the price »

Clean rooms but noisy. Some staff are really good and go out of their way while others are not helpful. Lots of parking and security on the grounds. At night things got a little noisy and it is easy to hear people talking and hear the T.V.s next door.

    4
« Easy Access, Good Rest »

With late arrival we were pleased at the easy access (location) and quick check-in. While not a new property, our room was comfortable; comfy beds, plenty of pillows, great air conditioning, strong wifi, good shower head. The breakfast had a variety of choices, including fresh fruit. After a late night we were grateful for the noon checkout time.

« Perfect spot for our Florida Keys trip »

Great hotel - perfect location, being far enough away from Miami, yet close enough to drive to Key West for the day. Clean and spacious with friendly staff. Only down side was no facilities to get food or drink onsite. We arrived late in the evening and didn't really want to go out, but had no choice. That said, the breakfast was good and filling. All in all a good choice for our trip to the Keys

    5
« Very accommodating. We had a large group come in for UltraSkate »

The hotel was beautiful, great location and the staff was very accommodating. We are using this hotel annually for our longboard races and so far it has worked out wonderfully. Looking forward to next February.

    « Room for Improvement »

The price was right and the desk staff was kind but man, this hotel was barely hanging in there. There were obvious maintenance issues, things were just barely clean but could have been cleaner, if you know what I mean. There was crusty dust on the baseboards in our room, a glob of white goo in the bottom of the sink drain when we arrived, the latch plate on the door was missing a screw and hanging loose (though it was fully operational), the grout in the bathroom was darker in front of the toilet than all the rest of the grout. No one seemed to be manning the breakfast room, the coffee was from one of those dispenser machines where you push a button (and tasted terrible), and there weren't too many healthy choices. Yogurt and fruit. My husband and daughter went to McDonalds. We tried to overlook it but everything was just a little on the shady side, you know? It's like no one really cares about it.

    « Fifth Anniversary!! »

Arrived late after our flight to a pleasant surprise in the room from the staff at the hotel. Nice flower arrangements with some Hershey kisses and neat towel heart design. Room was clean, quiet and beds are comfortable. Writing this review on our first night here so I can't speak to the breakfast (which is more than likely standard Best Western above average fare). The location is the prefect launching point for our Florida Keys trip. There are plenty of places to eat also right outside the hotel property since it is on the main road. We had a great room right by the pool and cool tiki hot tub set up. I have received far less service and inferior accommodations for much more money than we paid to stay here. If ever traveling down to the Keys again we will stay here since it is now a special place for my wife, my son, and I. I asked the front desk who put the flowers together and they said Kathy and Sabrina. Thank you very much to Kathy, Sabrina and the Best Western for making the start to our stay very memorable. Well done!!

    « Great Stay »

Stayed here 3 nights and loved it while visiting Everglades NP and Biscayne NP. Very nice rooms and decor, friendly staff, and a newer hotel in the area. Exceeded our expectations! Attractive decor in the lobby and breakfast room. Breakfast choices were good and lots of indoor and outdoor seating, so we never had to wait for a table or take food to our room. Pool and patio were attractive and clean. Wish we had time to enjoy them! The hotel rate was surprisingly inexpensive this time of year! I'd stay here again!

    5
    « Conveniently located! »

    « Very Nice »

Room was very nice & super clean. Kitchenette area is a Plus. Pool & Hot Tub looked very inviting too, even though I wasn't able to take a dip. My stay was very quiet and relaxing, will definitely stay here again on the way to the Keys. Price was very reasonable for all this hotel has to offer.

« Will stay here again »

Stayed here for four nights while visiting the Keys and family nearby. The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast consisted of many choices. Eggs, bacon, waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, bagels, English muffins, toast, etc as well as several beverage choices. There are several restaurants nearby. They work very hard keeping the property clean and appealing. Sitting by the pool was very relaxing. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the area.

« Nice Motel near the Everglades on the way to the Keys - Get 2nd floor Room. »

This is a nice place to stay near the Everglades on the way to the Keys. The beds are firm which is good for some people. The rooms are good sized. We did not try the pool. The breakfast is above average with a few hot items and other normal items that you typically see at a Continental Breakfast. We could not hear anyone in the rooms beside us but it was easy to hear the outside noise since this is a Motel with doors to the outside. Might be better to have a 2nd floor room as apposed to a first floor room right by the cars as we were woken at 4am by a loud group getting into their cars.

    5
    « Pleasant stay »

On our way to the keys we stayed overnight and found a descent and pleasant place for our family. Calm and smiling staff, convenient rooms and great atmosphere around the pool. The most for your money! Should have stayed longer if we had the time. Recommend if you travel to the keys or everglades.

« Excellent stay for Everglades NP »

If only possible I always choose BW. This hotel is located <10 miles from the NP entrance which makes is a perfect choice for visiting the Park or before going to the Keys. Great plus for really nice pool.

« Best stay I've had in a long time »

The rooms were impeccable. They were very clean the rooms smelled fresh and not damp. The staff was extremely nice and friendly the breakfast was tasty especially the waffles. Tammie at the front desk was extremely generous and hospitable I would defiantly stay here again for business and pleasure.

« Home away from home! »

We visited our daughter who is a Diamond Best Western Member. Her house is too small to accompany us and we reside at the Best Western in Florida City during our visit. The comforts make us feel like we are in a Home away from Home.

    4
« Large room, nice pool area »

The rooms are spacious, with a refrigerator, microwave, and second sink with a large counter area. Linens and beds were reasonably comfortable. The pool area has a large patio with many tables and chairs, and is located in an interior courtyard making it pleasantly separate from any parking areas or roads. Breakfast is typical - packaged foods, cereal, yogurts, breads and danishes, canned fruit salad. But it is plentiful, well-tended, and included some fresh whole fruit. On the negative side, the carpets really needed cleaning. The thermostat in our room was set to 65 when we arrived. It was so cold in the room that the windows were frosted. The hotel would save a great deal of energy and money if it were to stop this wasteful practice.

    5

We arrived from Cuba without our luggage. I was so surprised when the night desk person, and then Isabella, in the morning, offered traveling amenities. I never expected such helpful and resourceful assistance. The room, overlooking the pretty pool, was large and comfortable. Had we not lost our swim suits in our luggage, we would have appreciated an evening swim.

    « Great experience »

We stayed at the Best Western as a base to visit the Keys. It is very convenient to Key Largo. The hotel had nice rooms and outstanding customer service for the price. They even overnighted a bag with eye glasses we left to Disney World for us. The pool is very refreshing and well maintained. The breakfast is extensive. Highly recommend this hotel.

« Excellent modern hotel - great pool - great breakfast »

No issues at all here, everything was good and comfortable. Lovely to have tables and chairs around the pool. Good to be able to park right outside the room. Breakfast had everything you needed, including hot eggs. Coffee and cookies available all day, very good.

« RUN! We had to stay for a week, it was the Worst! »

Just an all around ratty hotel. There was a gap under the front door a cat could have walked under. There was a party in the parking lot until 3 am. The carpet was ratty, the bed was old and gross, as was the bedding. Sad and run-down. The pictures posted here are not accurate. It is on-par for Homestead though.

    « Cleanliness »

I am very picky about cleaning and this hotel was pretty clean, and staff was friendly. This Hotel was great for the price and the staff takes great care of the place! Perfect for a quick stay on your way to the keys for the price! :)

« Gateway to the keys »

A very good place to jump off to the Florida Keys at a reasonable price. A large pool in a tropical setting. Great breakfast with plenty of seating. Wi Fi in your room with fast internet speed. The best value for the money.

« KEY TO THE KEYS »

Excellent hotel, wish we could have stayed longer. Truly a gateway to the keys. Plenty of places to eat and shop. Not far from NASCAR Homestead raceway. Courteous and knowledgeable staff enhance your stay.

    « Great stay »

This our second visit to the Florida City Best Western. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The pool area is relaxing and a nice place for breakfast or drinks later in the day. Even though the hotel is near rt.1, it's quiet. It's also convenient for visiting the Everglades, which was the purpose of our trip.

    « Florida City trip »

A very nice place to stay. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was good. Staff is very nice. Pool/Hot Tub was fun. Housekeeping service was friendly and helpful. Location was close to lots of tourist attractions. I highly recommend this place.

« On our way to Key West »

After getting off the auto train my wife and I were looking for a place to stay for the night. The visitor center recommended the Best Western. We stopped in not expecting to get a room as it was after 7 P.M. The lady at the desk got us a great room and was very friendly. The breakfast was great and very filling. We didn't care about a room with a view as we were only going to sleep and leave the next morning. We had a room facing the highway which wasn't really noisy because it sets back from the road. The next morning we were treated to a fantastic sunrise. The room was very clean and so was the pool and hot tub. Very helpful and friendly staff and we now stay here on every trip to Key West.

    5
    « After the Keys »

We were looking for a nice hotel that was close to dinning when we left the keys. This hotel is at the intersection of the turning point to heading north US 1. It is close to the Everglades National Park and a very nice alligator farm. The pool is nice.

    « just o.k. »

can't control the way the air blows out of the AC. ended up getting sick from it blowing on us all night, price was very outrageous. breakfast was o.k. wanted to check out early they told me there wouldn't be a problem so I went there in the morning to check out and get my receipt. had to wait for 20 min. before someone came to the desk. I was late for my apt.

« A quiet and accommodating motel even with it being full of guests! »

The staff was very pleasant. The night security guard (I wish I had her name) was very friendly and Tammy the kitchen chef for breakfast made sure everything was clean, well presented and tastes good. Thank you!

« Nice hotel, Good Breakfast, Large Rooms »

This is a great hotel to stay in on the way to" The Keys." Our room was very large with two sinks. The breakfast was good, and although we did not use the pool, the pool area outside was very nice. The staff was courteous, and friendly. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

    5
« Great Staff, Location and Stay »

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for our first trip to South Florida. We chose the location randomly and hit the jackpot! Clean rooms, excellent and helpful staff, great pool hot tub and a delicious breakfast. We asked many questions regarding area attractions and directions and were given polite and informative information. If we or for that matter any of our friends or family are looking for a place to stay in that area, this is THE place we will recommend. Thank you Best Western for making our trip relaxing, fun and enjoyable.

    « Excellent hotel! »

Travelling down to Key West we had an overnight stop at this hotel. It is truely a lovely hotel - great swimming pool courtyard, friendly staff and good breakfast. Free tea and coffee available. We would certainly stay again.

    5
    « Great Room »

Nice room, fairly quiet. Easy access to the Keys. Oh and the review has to have a minimum of 200 characters so blah blah blah and so on and on. So still not to the minimum so more stuff here and it is a really good hotel and stuff

    4
« Convenient for Everglades and Keys visit »

This hotel is very convenient for visiting Everglades National Park, and the Keys. The staff was friendly and helpful and the grounds were nicely maintained. The breakfast items did not change and got a little boring by the third day. Our only disappointment was how black our feet got each evening walking around on the carpet. We could deal with re-washing, but I certainly would have been concerned if I had a small child who might be spending more time on the floor. It was convenient to be able to walk to a few restaurants.

    5
« "What an enjoyable experience" »

My husband and I stayed here for a night on our way to Key West and we did not want to leave. The staff were friendly, very helpful and the hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. They also have a great breakfast. The atmosphere sitting around the pool was so relaxing. We had no complaints and would highly recommend to our friends.

    5
« Great stop before/after visiting the Keys »

Friendly staff, clean comfortable room, convenient restaurants, great Spa, clean pool (didn't use), super good ambiance throughout. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Visitors center nearby, great restaurant 'Farmers Market Restaurant' nearby.

    3
    « o.k. »

stayed here while we went to the keys, air unit blows directly on you, breakfast is o.k., close to a chicken place to eat. on highway, so it is easy off and on when traveling, by looking over the town, it is a decent place to stay, the rest of the motels look scetchy

    5
    « a very nice hotel »

My son and I were guests here mon 3-7-16 while exploring Everglades National Park. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was clean with a fridge and microwave in the room. The pool courtyard was large and pool and hot tub open until 10pm. The breakfast was good with eggs and bacon and checkout was 12 noon which gave us time to explore the Key Largo area before heading to the airport. A great place to stay while exploring the state and national parks in the upper keys area. We will be back when we are in the area

    4
    « Nice location »

We picked this hotel because it looked to be a good place to stay as we visited Everglades National Park and John Pennekamp State Park. The room was clean and well equipped. Thank goodness for the coffee pot in the room because the coffee in the lobby was broken for our entire stay. So if you wanted coffee with breakfast you had to make it in the room. Staff was willing to give you extra packages of coffee if you asked for them. Breakfast included bacon and eggs as well as the standard cold items. Fresh fruit was a nice touch. The pool is nice with lots of seating on the pool deck. Many people enjoyed their breakfast pool side. The lack of coffee was the biggest problem we had on our 4 night stay. Also make sure you get the internet code and location of the ice & vending when you check in. The code was not included in the directions and the map does not indicate the ice machine and vending area.

    « Nice surprise. »

This best western is listed as "plus" but I was concerned from the pictures. No need to be. It is a large two level motel style with outside access to rooms. Our room was ground level close to the pool, hot tub and office. We were very late getting here due to an emergency landing issue with our flight into Fort Lauderdale. Front desk staff was polite and helpful. Great location right off the highway for a full day drive down the keys the next day. Late return again the second night and a couple of things I needed assistance with. The front desk girl was absolutely amazing. She had the minor problems in our room fixed quickly and sorted out a billing issue promptly. She was on the front desk again the next morning and confirmed things had been sorted out as I had requested. ( it was my issue - I booked on points and wanted to change to cash for one night and points for the second night). Breakfast was cramped but plentiful. We would stay here again. Easy to find. Large rooms. Old motel but renovated well

« Great Place to Stay.......Going or Coming to "The Keys" »

Stopped on way to Key West, was really surprised, everything was great, room, pool, breakfast and desk people were really accommodating, especially Isabella & Anabel, who were always smiling and attentive to all your needs....it has been updated with new Furniture in all areas, Rooms, Breakfast Area and Pool......Would definitely stay there again.

    3
« Location Good for 'Glades and Keys »

The many accolades for this hotel are true and I won't repeat them. Two things, however, stand out from our five-day stay. (1) The coffee pot in the breakfast area was out of order the entire time, and (2) while the carpets appear clean, watch the black come off the bottom of your feet when you step into the shower.

    3
« Yikes -- no coffee and no urgency to fix problem »

The hotel is in a convenient location for travel to the Everglades and Florida Keys. Facility is clean, modern and well-appointed. Unfortunately, the breakfast-room coffee pot was out of order for all three days of our stay. There seemed to be no sense of urgency by staff or management to get it fixed or provide a good back-up solution. I found this as being unacceptable, and maybe suggestive of not embracing customers as valued guests.

    3
« Disappointing quality for the chain »

Quiet room not likely- it's an older hotel & on main road to Keys, Room #144 was clean but bath electric receptacle was pushed through wall, door hinges were completely covered in rust, floor lamp was shorted so for safety just unplugged it. Free breakfast was about the only item as expected for this chain. Definitely NOT worth the 2400 points used to book it.

    4
    « Nice Stay »

This is a lovely Best Western. The lobby has just been redone and is so pretty and the reception folks were warm and friendly. The rooms were nicely decorated and looked like they too had just been fluffed up. Great location to get to both Flamingo area of Everglades NP and the overseas highway to the keys. Great bang for your buck. Would stay again.

    4
« Solid Hotel with good rooms and great pool area »

All the hotels in this area seems a little over-priced and located on busy roads in uninspiring shopping/industrial areas. This was no exception. But the rooms were large and comfortable and the pool area is great. I would certainly stay here again if in the area - but not drive to it for a special occasion!

    4
« Nice enough for a jump off point »

Stayed here because of its location proximity to the Everglades and a drive down the Keys. Walkable to restaurants in the area. Day to day cleaning of the room is pretty good but felt like the rooms are due for deep cleaning and maintenance. Nothing major just stain here, crack there. Exterior corridor makes accessing the ground floor rooms a breeze but the second floor room seems nicer/cleaner. The hotel is U-shape so the in-facing rooms might be better for a stay longer than a day.

    5
    « Nice location »

The best Western Gateway was nicely located in preparation for our continuation of our trip to Key West Florida. Staff were friendly and accommodating. It offered a nice breakfast to get us started on our way the next day.

    3
« Excellent breakfast and pool area. »

This place has a great free breakfast, one of the better ones for a BW the breakfast staff were lovely. The pool area is also spacious and clean and WiFi works everywhere which is great. The reason I have given it an average is that the bed is not comfortable (hard) and the pillows lumpy. The room itself was nice. Also we did not receive the same standard of customer service you expect from a BW, our sat nav was not working and the staff couldn't unlock the computer as the manager had the pass code. He then claimed not to know the password. I'm guessing he couldn't be bothered as if he owns the place he sets the passwords! Best buy geeks squad fixed it in 5 mins! !

    « Very nice hotel! »

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. Comfortable beds, clean, good sized rooms with refrigerator and microwave. Great location close to the Everglades and a short drive to the Keys. Good hot breakfast and friendly staff!!

« Touring The Everglades and Florida Keys »

The room was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. We stayed two enjoyable nights. Front desk was very helpful finding local restaurants. I realize up the road about 3 hours that I had left my hearing aids on the dresser. They mailed them to my Indiana house. I was pleasantly shocked that they beat me home. Thank you very much. Herb from Indiana

    4
    « Well situated »

Hotel was very well situated - not far from the Everglades and only a 40 minute drive south to Key Largo or north or Miami. Good choice of local restaurants and the breakfast in the hotel was very good.

    5
« Stayed for four nights »

The location is ideal. Easy access from Miami International Airport. Several good restaurants in the vicinity, (within walking distance). and ofcourse right on the route to the Keys and not far away from the Everglades. Competent and very friendly staff. Very good breakfast. (you can actually take your breakfast and enjoy it poolside.

    3
    « Way to Everglades »

Stayed here for one night on our way back from the Keys. Arrived quite late but was very efficient in getting us into our rooms. Even changed rooms for a low floor for my elderly parents. Rooms comfortable and clean if a little tired looking. Good substantial breakfasts. Ideal place to stay for the keys and the Everglades.

    5
    « Key Largo »

Stayed for two weeks as I enjoyed it so much. Cannot fault it. Everyone was so nice. Visited a crocodile farm in the Everglades. Went on a glass bottom boat in John Pennekamp centre and saw some beautiful coral, a turtle, a shark and a stingray. Missed the snorkelling due to bad weather on the day - it happens ..... lol

    3
    « Dissapointment »

Booked 3 nights here 3 months in advance. I am a BW rewards member. I felt that the room offered was the least desirable they had - seeing if I would just deal with it or reject it. I asked for a different room & felt like I was being jerked around, suddenly rooms would be available that were not offered a few minutes earlier. What kind of game is this? The shower drain would not shut off properly. Water was leaking from the drain all night. The fixtures are extremely old. I reported the problem around 10PM. A maintenance person showed up the next day & fixed it but left a mess in the bathroom for housekeeping to clean up.

    5
    « Excellent »

Very good hotel!! It is very near to the beginig of the road to Florida Keys. It's near a Premiun Outlet and various places to eat. The room was clean and big. The attendant was very helpful and kind. For sure I'll stay at this hotel again.

    5
« great service and help »

We were traveling to the Everglades and then a cruise, so we came a day early to visit, sightsee, and spend the evening outside Miami. This was our second visit to this location. Service, cleanliness, and overall value made it well worth the extra few minutes to get there from our planned itinerary!!

« Especially we had estimated the whirlpool »

Clean, good for families. Especially we had estimated the whirlpool. The pool was a little bit too cold at this season, The are a lot of families, couples which join their holidays. We liked to be there.

  • 5
    « Last minute booking »

We booked this hotel the day before we arrived and were extremely happy with our choice. Hotel is clean and tidy and staff were very courteous and helpful. Compared to Days Inn in Homestead Best Western is 5 star and Days Inn is a dump

    3
« Convenient and clean but overpriced and user unfriendly rooms. »

The hotel is an older one and the rooms have been refurbished with comfortable beds and newer furniture. There us a very nice outdoor atrium surrounding the pool and hot tub. It was very clean and the hot breakfast buffet was served by a very helpful and cheerful lady. There is free wifi and business center. However, on the weekend the room price soared. The table and heavy chair were in front of the air conditioning unit making it difficult to use without being frozen. The door to the room was extremely heavy to deal with and could not be kept open. While one can park in front of your room on the first floor, there is a band of gravel planted with sharp stabbing plants between the lot and the room. The housekeeping service was a bit slow to clean the rooms. The front desk staff was not particularly friendly. Despite being in a no smoking section, people stood outside the no smoking rooms, smoking while the air conditioning units pulled it in. The location is convenient to the Everglades and interstates. Televison station selection was limited. Water pressure in the shower was minimal. One reason for this hotel's popularity could possibly be the coupon in the tourist booklets but they are not always honored.

    4
« Clean, easy access to Everglades and/or the Keys »

This is a fine place to stay if you're going to the Everglades, or heading to/from the Keys. It's an old-time motel- so you pull the car right up to the door. It's not so good if you don't have the space in front of your own door, as you will hear coming/going from those cars. The room had a fridge, and the sink outside of the tub/toilet bathroom. The front desk staff gave us suggestions for local mexican food, which was OK. Linens were clean, towels were a little older - less fluff than some others. They were repainting the reception area, it looks like it will be nice once finished. The outside pool area was pretty - and had space for breakfast, but it started to rain so we moved indoors. Inside dining was a little cramped, but serviceable.

    4
    « It's all in the name »

This BW is truly the gateway to the Keys. A little confusing to get to but once there it is easy with good staff and a lovely lobby. The rooms are good size. Appears to be well maintained and attention to detail. I used the laundry and it was clean and operated well. 2 story. Plenty of parking. Nice selection for breakfast. LOVE THE FRESH FRUIT!

    5
    « Very Happily surprised »

We really enjoyed our stay, weekend getaway to Key Largo and Islamorada. Perfect place to stay, half the price of the hotels in Key Largo and much nicer! The hotel was clean and the lobby and pool area were perfect. The only area needing improvement I would say would be the beds. Breakfast was great, simple but had enough selection for everyone.

    4
« Nice stop, nice staff »

Great greeting upon checking in and smooth checkout. Everything in between was nice. Perhaps the room decor was a little dated but it was large and clean. This is an extremely convenient location for a drive to the Florida Keys or the Everglades. Convenient to stores and restaurants. The staff also located and kept the book which I forgot until I could pick it up upon returning.

    5
« trip to the Keys »

My friends and I rented two rooms to stay overnight on our way to Key West and again on our way home from the Keys - we were all very happy with the condition of the hotel and the appearance as we drove up to the hotel - it was the most reasonable stay we had in Florida also visited Key West and Ft Myers and hotels both places much more expensive and not as nice

    5
    « Great rooms »

We stopped here for two nights as we visited the Everglades. The location was perfect. The room was clean, large and nicely furnished with a comfortable bed. I loved the the small kitchenette area which added a second sink and countertop outside the bathroom next to the fridge/micro combo. The personnel were all pleasant and the pool courtyard was large and attractive. Breakfast was fine and typical of BW. Plenty of food options close by. We walked to get carry out chicken from Tropical Pollo next door which was good.

    5
    « Clean and Friendly »

We stayed one night on the way to the Keys. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. If it hadn't been raining, there is breakfast seating in the pool courtyard. Pool is nice, hot tub is clean and well maintained. Courtyard beautiful. Queen beds good, linens okay but not super.

    5
« Great gateway to Everglades National Park and to the Florida Keyys »

This is a very nice hotel -- comfortable room, capable and eager staff, friendly guests. What is a little tricky is that, although the hotel has a large sign on U.S. 1, the hotel is actually located behind a restaurant, so it you are not paying sufficient attention you might miss it. The road behind the hotel leads a few miles north to one of my favorites places to visit in Florida, the Fruit and Spice Park (ask directions at the hotel). This park is a 40+ acre botanical park of fruit and spice trees from tropical and sub-tropical areas around the world. They provide free samples of very tasty fruit you have probably never eaten before, and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff will drive you around and describe the trees and bushes.

    « Quick stay »

We only spend one night and arrived late. Room was spacious, clean and beds very comfortable - which is exactly what we needed to get some rest after long day driving. There was a breakfast but we didn't get it. Didn't hear any noise from the road or other rooms. Would stay again.

    5
« Probably the best hotel in the Florida City area »

This hotel was conveniently located, and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. There were plenty of restaurants located not far away. The breakfast was extensive and tasty. We stayed here before and when we decided to come to the area again, we booked the hotel for this trip too. If we come this way again, we'll stay here then too.

    5
« a fine base to explore Everglades or Keys »

This is a very nice hotel, located near the entrance to the Florida Keys and to the Everglades National Park. Highlight of our visit to Florida was the Fruit and Spice Park, ~40 acres of tropical and subtropical fruit and spice plants from around the world, located a few miles north of this hotel. Ask for directions. One might miss the hotel if one arrives on U.S. 1: There is a sign for the hotel on U.S. 1, but the hotel itself is located behind a restaurant..

    5
    « 2 night stopover »

Firstly, do not follow SATNAV to this hotel, it is off the main road heading down to The Keys, huge sign seen from the motorway. The place was clean, all rooms surround the square pool. No lift/elevators. Security box at the front reception. Microwave fridge in room. Hotel close to some attractions-we went to the Alligator Farm about 15mins drive away. Good breakfast but as usual not enough space in the breakfast room for all the guests, could sit outside but the weather wasn't great for doing this. Free 24hr coffee. Overall I would stay here again. Some traffic noise. A few eateries off the main road and a cross from the hotel.

    5
    « I would stay here again. »

I stayed at this Best Western in January of 2016 while visiting the Keys. It is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is great. I will stay here again the next time I visit the Keys. The hotel is in a safe area but they do have a night guard on duty.

A great hotel! The room was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and treat you like a guest, so helpful and upbeat. It is a great location to explore the Everglades and beyond. Nice pool area. The breakfast was good and the staff kept everything tidy and refilled. Would stay there again.

a very nice hotel clean and comfortable with a nice lobby and breakfast area. also a nice large clean pool area. quite a bit of traffic running in front of hotel especially 4 wheelers. ac was noisy and tub didn't drain properly but all in all better than most!

    4
« Good for the price »

Very clean. Quiet. Bathroom door wouldn't close. I would go back and recommend. Didn't try the breakfast. Nice restaurant guide, very helpful employees. A little hard to figure out how to get to. Old time motel look, but good.

    5
    « True Gateway »

Ideal location for going to the Everglades. We were able to leave and return twice a day for morning and evening photography without long drives. Breakfast was convenient and easy to take on the road if need be. Warning, the west facing room are on a busy street and road noise could be a problem.

    4
    « Prefect situation »

Stayed here 3 nights on the way to the Keys. Good breakfast and comfortable room. visited the Everglades National Park and loved the wildlife there - a definite must do! Weather was lousy so good to have an outlet place cose by to do some shopping

  • 5
    « Very comfortable »

Only one night here, but room was very comfortable. Towels a bit gray and thin, but no one will ever steal them! Breakfast included hot items, which were appreciated. Hotel seemed pretty full but there was no real noise.

    4
    « Adequate »

We used this as our home base for the going to the Everglades National Park. We were 10 miles away. The room was fine with mid range sheets and towels. The room was clean. I am sure housekeeping had to notice that there was about twelve inches of carpet edging that had pulled away from the wall. Nice selection for the breakfast. Hotel sounds were minimal. But, did hear some road/parking lot noise. Worked fine for our needs.

    4
    « Quiet and ckean »

Set back from route 1 this Almost last motel on the peninsula before the Keys is quiet, clean, and well run. The bathrooms have been upgraded, the beds are about an 8 but the pillows are rather hard and clumpy and cheap and all the same. Don't leave stuff in your car at night that's valuable. Breakfast is ok but I've given up eating the microwave bacon and liquid eggs. Nice pool and outside eating area. If you're headed south to the Keys and aren't rushed be sure to take the Card Sound Road just south of the motel off US 1 to see what the Keys once looked like before development and greed took over.

    5

    « Keys road trip »

Perfect location for trip to the Keys. However a little TLC and updating wouldn't go amiss. The staff are great and nice breakfasts. Everything is there it just needs a little updating. From Miami airport I would advise indicating 'Homestead' other than Florida City for location settings in your GPS otherwise you could be like us and end up in the middle of nowhere.

    « bad beds couldn't sleep »

the beds were so hard i woke up with a back ach. The pillows were to short and puffy it hurt your neck the hotel was very clean. The pool was nice. The location of hotel is perfect . I wish they could get better beds then it would be a great hotel

    « Florida City Gem »

I often use Best Western hotels when I can, but this one is above average. The room was large, clean, and well organized. The hotel is located in a very convenient location, and is next door to a Pollo Tropical fast food restaurant that has some of the best tasting chicken I have ever eaten. The grounds are beautiful.

    4
« All in all good stay »

Picked this place because of the location - Keys, Everglades and Miami within decent range - and because it was reasonably priced. Check-in was OK, not overfriendly though. We got the rooms, which we had requested during the online booking (ground floor and next to each other). Staff in general was kind of grumpy. We had to go through the main entrance of the lobby to get to the breakfast area and the receptionist - two were present that morning and both didn't seem to be busy - looked at me like "what do you want" and didn't greet me, so I greeted him after I had waited for a couple of seconds and he mumbled something back. The 2nd receptionist didn't even bother looking up. Rooms seemed to be clean, but some wear and tear was visible, especially in the bathroom. Beds were good, but not great, just not as comfy as experienced in other BW hotels. A/C was noisy as hell, we had to turn it off during the night. Otherwise we were not disturbed by any noise from inside our outside, the walls seemed to be thicker than average. Wifi was fast and stable. We didn't use the outdoor pool and hot tub. The pool area is quite large, the pool itself has average size. The area is not fenced. There are a couple of budget restaurants (Pollo Tropical is right next door) available in walking distance. Gas station is across the street.

    3
    « Comfortable Stay »

This BW is just average. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. Outside rooms around the pool were a little noisy, not so much from kids/people at the pool, but more from carts rolling on the sidewalks. Free breakfast was not bad, but just average and not as good as at other similar hotels. This hotel is convenient for access to the Everglades and located among a large variety of restaurants. These were discounted rooms on Expedia and I guess you could say you get what you pay for!

This BW, like Most BWs, offers you a clean comfortable room with a good complimentary breakfast. It is right on the way to Everglades National Park which we always visit when we are in the area. They don't try to be anything other than what they are. Regards, OldeBear

Clean, comfortable, quiet.... Polite... Excellent value! Excellent staff.... Close to food.... MUCH less expensive and much nicer than accommodations South of here.... This post requires more than 200 carachters... And will not let me skip it... I'll know better next time. Just won't do it...!

    « Very dirty »

The carpet in the room was so dirty that when I got in the shower I left muddy footprints in the tub. I ordered a wake-up call and didn't receive it. The bananas at breakfast were way over ripe. They were black and mushy. The laundry room was suppose to open at 7:00 and it was still locked ar 10:00 and they had to run down someone to open it.

    « Bedbugs alert »

Me and my boyfriend just spend two nights here. Our first impression was good and room seemed clean. But after the second night we woke up with lots of bites. First we thought this was mosquito bites but after a closer look we are certain this is from bedbugs. Initially I wanted to give this place a good reveiw as we had a good stay taking the bedbugs out of account . Unfortunately I can not due to this experrience. Fyi our room number was 204. I would really urge the hotel to take the necessary steps to prevent this for future visitors. We had to spend both time and money to get our selfes cleaned up for the rest of our trip.

    « Ice Machine »

Noise from people using the ice machine went on until way after midnight. Some guest must of been filling large coolers and the noise was quite bothersome. They need to limit how much ice the guest can take or MOVE the ice machine where it is not near any rooms.

« Clean, Comfortable, Great Place »

Hotel has external hallways and a large pool area. Check in and out was smooth and easy. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are very clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast has a wide variety of hot and cold items. I would definitely stay here again.

« Nice quiet hotel with hot tub and pool »

The location was excellent returning from the keys headed to Orlando, staff were accommodating, excellent hot breakfast, room was clean. Nice quiet court yard around the pool. Location was good before you headed to the turnpike

    « Great Experience »

We went to South Florida to celebrate New Year Eve with family and friends and for my father, who is 86 years old, to meet two great-grandchildren. I must say that from the moment I contacted the Hotel to make reservations, Sabrina displayed an awesome disposition which she exceeded at the time when we checked in. Annabel is absolutely wonderful too. Tammie who takes care of the breakfast is one of the most hard working people I have ever seen in my life and her client service is absolutely wonderful. Hotel was clean, rooms impeccable, staff pleasant. Even the Security Guard that takes care of the property at night was offering assistance to help with my Dad one night that we arrived late. I am definitely going back to this property and will recommend it to ALL my friends and family. Absolutely wonderful experience!

« Gateway to the Everglades »

Convenient & Clean. We loved our week long stay. Breakfasts were yummy. The smoking Housecleaning Staff not so much, especially since we had to walk past their laundry area every day. The Security Guard was a little grumpy considering it was a Christmas/New Year's week. However if we ever need to stay in the area again - we will definitely check their availability first.

    « Little below average »

We stayed during our christmas break this past week. Compared to the price of hotels in the Keys, this was a great deal. We were at check in at 4:00 and room wasn't quite ready. We also asked for an additional room, but couldn't get the same rate we had gotten the other room for. Breakfast was great every day. Manager of maids wasn't friendly. Seem angry. I even said hello and got nothing. Not typical. Rooms seemed a little run down and not kept up like other Best Westerns we've stayed in.

    « Average hotel »

All my requests were not honoured. The breakfast place did not have enough seating and things had run out. The location is good if you are going to the Keys, other than that nothing happening in that area. We got our room at the back of the property and it was a little scary due to industrial area etc. If you are there to just sleep for the night its fine

    1
    « Bedbug! »

I got bitten by bedbug during my stay! I stayed at room 251 for 2 nights and another room for one night. I got bitten in room 251. The staff at front desk just wanted to push away any responsibilities.

    « Another Great Stay »

Clean, comfortable, great location. Helpful staff. I especially like the big rooms and extra sink. Amenities are just right. We always stay at this hotel. We were able to get a downstairs room right by a handicapped spot, too.

« Best Hotel near Everglades and Florida Keys »

We spent 4 nights Christmas time in this hotel. The reason we chose it is its location (close to Everglades NP and Florida Keys) and the price. Beyond that, BestWestern brand is the one I trust for the last 15 years or so. Although the appearance of the hotel is like a motel, the interior decoration and landscaping near the poor are much better than most of the hotels in the same class. The breakfast is the best in my past 15 years of around 50 hotels: bacons and juices are of high quality and fresh. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very clean room and bedding. Overall, this is the best hotel in the area for the price paid! Great jobs done! Very much appreciated! Definitely will use it again and recommend to friends.

We booked this place based on reviews. The rooms were ok, nothing to scream about. The facility itself looks pretty rundown and sad really. However, I have not rated it bad since the staff compensated for the not so great facility. Receptionist, housekeeping and generally all their staff were very friendly and nice. Therefore, I would say, if you want to have half decent rooms with nice staff then get to this place

    4
« Two nights near the Everglades »

We stayed for two nights in Florida City due to the location near the Everglades National Park. The rooms, staff and breakfast were like most Best Westerns. My only problem was that the Internet wi - fi was really slow on my devices. I never could figure out why. Overall we had a great nights sleep.

    5
« Great hotel with excellent breakfast »

I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a clean place a bit out of town but close to the Keys. Great for families with kids too. Excellent breakfast, good pool and hut tub. The rroms and beds are clean with good bath and shower. Nice TV channel selections and friendly service. Checking in and out is easy.

    « Alway stay here »

I try to fish the Everglades, Biscayne Bay, and the Keys a couple times each year. When I do I stay at the Best Western in Florida City. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The hotel itself looks fantastic. The Best Western has nightly security so you feel safe. The staff is very friendly and will accommodate your needs. As a guy in a wheelchair, I need a roll-in shower. Most hotels that have roll-in showers have either small showers or a lip in the shower. Not Best Western, their shower is LARGE, with no lip leading to the shower. This is very important for people in wheelchairs. The breakfast is your typical hotel breakfast with the exception that you can eat inside or poolside. As an outdoors type of guy, I enjoy eating poolside. I always feel welcome at the Best Western. When I arrive one of the staff will recognize me within minutes. When I get breakfast, the lady running the breakfast will get my coffee and waffles...before I have a chance to ask for help. The room crew will help arrange the room to fit the needs of my wheelchair. Overall, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on my trips to South Florida.

« Excellent breakfast and great hotel »

Great hotel with great varieties of breakfast. Good pool and hot tub. Easy chech in and out with helpful staff. Nice location with restaurants around. Close to everglades national park. but 30 miles away from downtown Miami.

    4
    « Good hotel »

Clean and good. Caring staff. Good location when visiting the Florida Keys. Some other guests were not so nice, and the pool area which makes the hotel look good, may not be a good display for kids when some no-caring guests are in there.

    « A+ »

This was a great choice. Annabel and Sabrina (staff) very friendly and accommodating! We had a room reserved at a hotel down the road and they " gave our reservation away". We drove to Best Western and they took great care of us! I'm glad this mistake was made!

    « Best western »

My stay at the hotel was excellent the room are clean and well appointed. The pool is very tropical and they have a spa as well. I left a bag behind that had all my medicine that I needed for my next trip. I called Monday morning and spoke with Isabella she quickly handled it for me and Felix the GM shipped the package overnight and I received it Tuesday morning. This is a great place to stay and all the staff are great at their jobs!!! I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Nothing special. Expensive for what we got. Room was clean, but sleep quality was poor. And the worse thing was the iron and ironing table. hey have to be change. Personal at the reception doesn't look professional. They were talking between them during my checkout process. Lobby area needs to be improve.

    « Best Hotel in S. Florida »

I have stayed in this hotel since 2009 and has been returning since. This is always my first option while visiting the area. The staff is always very helpful and the services provided meet my needs. The parking, breakfast and pool area are very nice. This hotel is close to the Everglades, Robert was Here, Homestead Air Base and many other attractions. It is also close to the Turnpike and Route 1. Best value!

    « Maintaining Value,Quality, Cleanliness and Service »

We were delighted to see that this hotel is maintaining its standards of excellence while controlling its prices. Breakfasts are some of the best found anywhere. Key West is about 2 and a half hour drive - a long day outing and back for a good night's sleep on good matresses at a far better price than in KW. We had a bathroom door problem but it was fixed shortly after reporting it - maintenance service was quick and effective. Swimming pool and hot tub is super. Great place to stay. Love it.

    « Best Western Homestead,Florida »

The room was very large and clean. Service was excellent. We were unable to enjoy the pool as it rained very heavy for the duration of our stay. We wanted a ground floor room, but we didn't reserve the room soon enough.

    5
    « Great value!!! »

We stayed for one night here a few days ago on our way through to the keys. The staff are very friendly and the location is extremely clean. There is a complimentary breakfast in the lobby but there are so many great places to eat around there as well.

    3
    « Truck-drivers hotel »

The hotel is good for a one-night stop on a road-trip, but seems to be more truck-drivers hotel. There is nothing to do around the hotel in the evening and the pool-side was out of order during our stay. We booked 2 rooms and the quality of the rooms were not the same. I've stayed in better quality Best Western hotels. The price was not worth it.

    5
« Overnight before going to Florida Keys »

This Best Western was lovely. Great accommodations and very friendly staff. I had a little mishap with a broken bottle and within minutes a gentleman came and shop vacuumed the entire area and double checked to make sure there was no glass left. Also, housekeeping was there to give me more towels. Can't say enough about the breakfast. Alot of choices and constantly being refilled. Definitely stay here. Great price and nice rooms.

« Bad timing cost us dearly. »

This hotel was good in all respects except for the cost - we had booked it during a racecar meeting weekend when all and sundry came from all over Florida to see the (Nascar?) races. It meant that all accommodation was at a premium and went up from 80 to 225 dollars a night and back down again on Monday. This was explained as "everyone does it in all hotels, etc". A bit of a low spot on our travels. Breakfast was better at least with hot food available.

« Very Good Value, stop off before the Keys »

Late at night; didn't want to take our chances on the Keys; so we checked out the price at $75 and the room and the pool area; all was good. Breakfast was provided and was better then most, so it suited it us perfectly for a late night checkin, breakfast, sit by the pool for a while, and leave. Room was great; clean and great bed. Just check the rate in advance; next night was $250 due to NASCAR at Homestead

« Dont be fooled bt cheap prices! AWESOME property »

I did not expect much since the price was so reasonable. The room was fresh and updated, Very refreshing when I walked into the room, If I had to say one thing negative was the bed squeaked a few times.

    3
    « Not too shabby »

You're not looking for a five star hotel in Florida City/Homestead because there aren't any, but if you decided to stay in the area, this is certainly one I'd recommend. It's an older hotel but well maintained. My room was fresh and relatively updated, the grounds were well manicured, the staff very friendly and the breakfast above average. Overall the hotel was clean.

    5
    « Wonderful »

Loved the decor---staff was exceptional----hot tub out of order but price was adjusted and it was to be repaired the day we left. The linens are to die for----lots of pillows like at home and nice fresh clean sheets. Shower was great, lot of hot water. Quiet location and minimal noise. We would stay there again.

« Great Place to stay »

This was far above my expectation staff was excellent, rooms and grounds were very clean housekeeping do there jobs very well. I would highly recommend staying here for any one going to the races or heading to the keys,it was my best experience at a Best Western hotel and they need to model some of the other ones after this one. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Also very easy to get here. WiFi worked the best out of any hotels I have stayed at too

    5
« Close to Nascar Track »

The hotel was very clean, friendly & quiet even though is was Nascar race weekend . Breakfast is Excellent Always. We stay here every year for the race since it is only about 3 miles to the track. Samantha, Isabella & Sabil at front desk were great as usual. Very nice pool.

« Every year for Homestead Nascar Race »

« Nice Place to stay »

Stayed at this Best Western on my way to the Florida Keys. employees of this Inn were very friendly, and helped the traveler meet his needs. The breakfast was very good, offering hot eggs and serving of meat. Many other items to choose from. Would stay at this inn when ever i visit the Keys.

    4
    « Race place »

« Fun in the Sun »

Nice hotel. Service with a smile! We picked location since we were visiting Everglades and Coral Castle in the area and then off to Key West. Worked out wonderful. Rooms were nice - did face the parking lot but great deal for the price. Would recommend as a stop over when visiting Everglades or on way to Key West.

    5
« Would definitely stay again when in the area »

Clean, economical, friendly staff, a wonderful breakfast (name brand cereals, scrambled eggs, mango juice, waffles, toast, etc) and an extra sink outside of the bathroom which is wonderful when it comes to having more than one person getting ready in the morning.

    4
« Good location to visit National Parks »

Fiendly staff, sparse lobby area. Decent clean rooms. Nice courtyard, just need more tables for breakfast outside. Enjoyed pool. Cookies in lobby a nice touch. Close to Everglades and Biscayne National Parks and start of the Keys drive. Hot breakfast included, great value. Neighborhood isnt the best but felt safe here and can park car right outside door. Would stay here again.

    « Welcoming personal »

We arrived late from a trip from Sweden and with two small boys in the group we appreciated quick check in and nice and clear rooms. Also that you had booked us in t to two rooms with connecting door. Breakfast was very good and we'll presenter. And checking out was also easy and effective.

    « Nice Stay-Clean Room »

We were traveling to Key West and decided to stop for the night and continue early the next morning to Key West. No reservations, but we were able to obtain a ground floor room looking out at a very nice and well maintained pool area. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was up to date and clean. However, the walls were very thin. We thought to cost was a little high but under the circumstances we were OK with it.

    3
    « Ok and inexpensive. »

The motel is older and has outside access to all the rooms. It's in an iffy neighborhood so I wasn't too happy about that. However, there were no problems with safety. The rooms are older but clean. Carpet in my room was stained but no bad smells. Breakfast was good and better than average coffee. My major problems was the internet. Out of the three days I was there, it worked about 18 hours of three days.

    5
    « Mrs Kelly »

The staff and services at Best Western is excellent. The front desk clerks were very welcoming and helpful my room was very nicely kept by the staff and I very pleased with the overall appearance. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there as the environment is very clean and peaceful.

    5
    « Great Problem Resolution! »

I had a few issues initially. Nothing major, just normal hotel stuff. I'm a challenging guest and know it. I forgot a couple shirts and when I contacted the front desk, Isabella was amazing. She was genuinely concerned about my experience and went above and beyond to help. The GM, Felix Comacho, was very helpful as well. Nobody's perfect, mistakes make us human (including my own when I forgot my shirts!!), what makes a difference is how people handle challenges. Felix and Isabella did a great job and when I am back in South Florida I know where I'll be staying. Keep up the good work!

    5
« On the way from the Keys »

Great location, from or to Ke West. Lot of restaurants shops outside. Nice breakfast as a plus after long trip. Good beds, spacious room, enough for four people. It was renovation works, during my stay, but I was in other part of hotel, so not disturbing at all.

    4
    « Best Western »

The hotel is much better than the neighborhood. Have all night security so I wasn't concerned about the Harley. The room was clean and smelled clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon and waffles plus the usual.

« Good place to stay close to Everglades »

Took a short trip to south Florida to visit Everglades National Park and stayed here. The place was clean, bed great and staff friendly. They were working on the road close to entrance but that was really no problem since we were able to come in from another directon

    5
    « awesome hotel »

we stay here every year, hotel is immaculate and well staffed. Pool is wonderful and has a very nice hot tub. The front desk staff is always very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is one of the best, plenty of variety and stocked and maintained.

    « Really comfortable stay »

We thought this hotel was really great,as soon as we pulled up it looked very "key west" The rooms are decorated really good and are spacious too.the pool area is laid back with some good shady spots and the hot tub is an added bonus. The breakfast is self service and is a good standard and the thing we liked was you could help yourself to a tea or coffee throughout the day.......very good- thankyou best western !!!

    5
    « Must stay! »

Stay here for the night if your on your way to Key West! Perfect location. Currently being remodeled (which in no way will affect your stay). Can only be better going forward. We left from WPB on a Friday afternoon after work. Sat in traffic, not a great way to start a vacation. Stayed at this location overnight. Plenty of dining choices nearby, a great night a sleep. Refreshed and ready for our trip to Key West!

    5
« Great place to stay »

Great location Gate Way to the Florida Keys. The hotel is very clean the staff friendly and helpful. Nice pool and patio. Plenty of good restaurants, Seafood and Mexican, Italian. I would stay there again the next time I am in the area.

    4
    « A Bargain for the Location »

If you don't want to pay Keys prices and you don't mind driving, this is a good option. The hotel is well-maintained, the room was clean, a/c not too noisy, and the pool was fine. We noticed a lot of Europeans staying there which is always a good sign. We didn't stay for breakfast so I can't comment on their free buffet.

    5
« Excellent hotel for the price! »

This hotel has outstanding rooms and people to run the place. Cannot say anything negative. The price makes it a real bargain. The people that work there care and validate that choosing this hotel was the right one!

    2
    « It was ok »

Me and my fiance stayed for one night on the way to the Keys. The room was nice and clean but the bed was awful. It was really hard and we didn't sleep very well that night. Unless they change the beds I wouldn't recommend staying there.

    4
    « Very friendly staff »

A very nice location for a stop over on way to the keys. The staff were very friendly and helpful which is always important for a good business and a good welcome. Clean rooms and we were well looked after for the night. If you get off at Miami and need to get away from the city on route to the Keys this absolutely ideal with a pool and every imaginable food outlet very close on the US 1

    4
    « FL City visit »

We spent 5 nights at this hotel and were pleased with our experience. It is being renovated, but this was not an inconvenience. Room was spacious, clean, opened onto ground level, with parking (free) right outside. Breakfast every day - very good coffee, bacon and eggs, pastries, English muffins, bagels, toast, juice, yogurt, etc. good location at the southern end of the FL turnpike just off route 1. Mutineer Restaurant across the street was ok, and a Denny's and Cracker Barrel close by.

We stayed here prior to our Carnival cruise and enjoyed our stay. The hotel was well maintained and the staff was very friendly. Isabella at the front desk was very helpful. The hotel is in a great location as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again the next time we are in Florida City.

    5
    « Perfect location »

For your Keys visit. The drive to Key West is an real pleasure when you have the whole day to enjoy it and site see. This hotel has plenty of restaurants close by and they provided us a map and description. It was quiet and I felt safe. They gave me a down and out which I ask for.

« nice hotel with a great location »

Did a 3 night trip here recently mostly to visit the Everglads and Key West great location a block from the main highway to the park very convent. Its right on US1 the highway to the Keys. Nice pool side room had two Queen beds large fridge coffee maker and a microwave full bath with two sinks one in the bathroom one just out side the bathroom each had a nice big miero flat screen TV and Wife a guest laundry room was available very nice hot breakfast but sitting was rather tight you might want to eat pool side. Downside was a lot of construction was messing up the parking lott..

« Overnight in Key West »

We did a two week tour of Savannah and Florida with my parents. We stayed one night at this lovely Best Western and it was my favorite hotel on our trip. It is decorated very tastefully and very clean. There is no carpet in the rooms but modern tile instead. Big plus for me. The pool area has an upscale cabana feel and I didn't want to leave this little paradise. The staff was very friendly and professional. The young man in the breakfast area worked very hard keeping everything spotless. The cleanliness of this hotel made it a very comfortable stay.

    5
    « Wonderful "A Plus" Hotel »

My husband and I walked into this hotel and booked a room for five nights for a great price! The hotel's exterior was extremely clean and well maintained. The rooms had very comfortable beds and was also extremely clean. We used this location as a "home base" for visiting several attractions in the Key's area. We will use this hotel exclusively when we are back in Florida. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

    5
« Great Location, very helpful staff »

The rooms were spacious, the staff were very friendly ... and the breakfast was pretty good too. The staff had thorough knowledge of the Keys and were able to guide us on timings, places to visit etc., The hotels at the Keys were double the cost - and the drive from BW to the Keys was around an hour - which worked fine for us as we had to book multiple rooms.
