We were here a week. The complimentary breakfast had a great variety of options. They accommodated us very well. The place was clean. The beds were comfortable. The coffee machine was in service 24/7. It makes cappuccinos, lattes, etc. We would use this motel again.

everything was very good. glad to have car plug-ins. Front desk people nice and helpful. (also hotel is across street from big shopping and next door to the best coffee stand!) Would have been nice if hotel had airport shuttle, and didn't charge for early check-in, but we had a great stay.

"A wonderful stay for a werk"
Graham L, 09 Octobre 2023

Absolutely brilliant. Buffet area available all day long. Comfortable rooms with great facilities. The staff are a dream - Jesse, Lyndsay, Cheri, all the others. Loved staying there and thoroughly appreciated your kindness and warmth. Highly recommended! Thank you so much.

"Awesome....."

NOT!! Got employees doing drugs in the parking lot. I'd like to say to that young blonde haired gentlemen with the black Four door Ford, take your job more seriously. I mean there are children staying in this place. I literally seen you smoking out of a glass tube with a round end. I'm sure I'm not the only one. And to the management come on now really are u running a trap house? Clean up your staff. The room was still dirty front desk rude as can be. Such an unprofessional place. Never again will I stay at this hotel. I will be sure to let others know as well. Thanks for hearing me and I'm sure you won't do nothing to change any of this.

"DO NOT STAY HERE - Broken AC, Smelly room, poor customer service."
Jenny W, 08 Août 2023

My family and I are staying here now and it's the worst experience I've ever had. They gave us a room on the first floor and walking in it was musty and smelled like pet urine and the air conditioner is broken. My husband went to the front desk and the acted like there wasn't a problem and we just weren't using the thermostat correctly (my husband is a building performance engineer and knows how to operate a thermostat). We didn't sleep well because we were warm and uncomfortable. Yesterday, my husband spoke directly with the maintenance person and was told that they'd come fix it. When we got back to the room, the Ac wasn't fixed and the room still smelled terrible. We asked if it was possible to switch rooms and were told they were sold out. This morning, I asked why they didn't work on the AC and was told they knocked on the door but we didn't answer (because we were out) so they didn't work on the AC. I asked if they could work on it and if they had any carpet deodorizer and was told they'd see if they could check it out. I'm sure when we return it won't be addressed. The woman at the front desk wouldn't even make eye contact. Spare yourself the disappointment and experience of a hot/ smelly room and stay literally anywhere else!

"Horrible!"
kellywitten, 25 Juillet 2023

DO NOT STAY HERE!! I have never written a review of a hotel but I am doing so in the hopes no one else has to make the mistake of staying here. I do not know how this hotel got all these good reviews. I started off in a room on the third floor. It wasn't super clean but I took a shower and decided to make the best of it. Then I discovered something was wrong with the air conditioner and asked for a different room. That room smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke I didn't even make it in the door. Then I was given a room on the first floor. I do not know what the smell was in that room but it was horrible. At that point, I gave up. I got the hotel for a little over $100 off of their website. It was over $300 on all the other websites. All I can figure, based on the other good reviews, is that they gave me the nasty rooms because I didn't pay full price. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't take a chance on it if I were you.

"Falling Apart & False Advertising"
kysarkathy, 22 Juillet 2023

First, the good - the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the continental breakfast was hearty. It's a real stretch to call this place a "Chena River Lodge." You can't even see the river from the hotel and it's just that, a hotel and not a lodge. As I approached the front doors to the hotel, I read a sign on them saying that they weren't working properly and I may have to slide the glass doors open by hand. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk had a baby that was crawling around on the lobby floor and headed down the hall toward the guest rooms. I was given keys to a room on the third floor and then told that the elevator was currently out of order and being worked on. So, I hauled my bags up the stairs to my room. Then, when I went to get ice, the 3rd floor ice machine had a sign saying that I needed to use the ice machine on the 1st floor. Thankfully, the elevator was working by then. There was a homemade sign in the elevator that said not to overcrowd it and that the maximum capacity was 3 people. It was a large elevator that could easily accommodate 8 people or more. Strange. The carpet in the halls was sticky dirty and made the bottom of my shoes sticky. The hotel information in the room stated that the continental breakfast was only available 6-9am, so I made plans to eat out the next day for brunch since I didn't have to be anywhere before 1pm. When I walked through the lobby at 10am, the continental breakfast was in full swing so I was frustrated about that. There was only one paper coffee cup in my room, although the selection of teas was nice. When I checked out, the man at the desk was dressed sloppily in an oversized hoody. Overall, it all just felt very unprofessional and not welcoming at all.

"Not as advertised"
O4XXjeffreyg, 17 Juillet 2023

This hotel is not a lodge!! It's a normal Best Western hotel you find thru out the US It is not on the Chena River. There are several hotels nearby at a considerable less price and are on the Chena River, has a restaurant onsite. If you don't have a car you'll have to take Uber or Taxi anywhere Homeless man came in two separate days while eating breakfast begging for cigarettes and lighter. Staff did nothing Overall this hotel is not worth the value in many ways.

"Great experience "
Jessica S, 27 Juin 2023

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They gave great suggestions for food options and night spots. The hotel was clean and in a good location. The breakfast buffet was always good with delicious options.

"Surprisingly Nice"
LoveFunTravels, 03 Juin 2023

A very good low budget option. Breakfast better than Hampton Inn. Good location and friendly staff. There was an issue with the shuttle service due to staffing so a taxi (paid by hotel) was used which was awkward. The original taxi they sent to the airport to pick us up took off with someone else even though we were talking with the driver and the passenger who stole it from us.

"Pleasant Stay at Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge"
micaelaaG7447WC, 18 Janvier 2023

We had a great time at Fairbanks while being checked-in at Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge. All of the staff were incredibly nice and hospitable. The breakfast everyday is hot and good. It was walking distance to Fred Meyer and other restaurants. They also helped us with our transportation. We would not mind staying here again when we come back.

bellis3143, 22 Novembre 2022

I couldn't be home for Thanksgiving, so I met my daughter and her little family in Fairbanks for a couple days. We had a lovely stay and no problems. Got a chance to visit in the comfortable breakfast area. The location is close to the airport, but also everything else.

"Great Place/Pet Friendly"
Bethfms88, 09 Octobre 2022

We stayed here for a month while waiting for our apartment to moved in. It's so eay to deal with them, the staff was helpful. Breakfast is better than the other bigger hotesl in Fairbanks. However, the hallways are dark, and the carpet can be updated anytime soon, there's a wet dog smell that lingers. But other than that. I really thank them for accomodating us and our 2 German Shepherds.

"Quiet, pet friendly"
Curious744921, 10 Septembre 2022

Good location on Airport Way, but not by the riverside which I understood from pictures and the name. There is another Best Western in Fairbanks to be aware of when you book. Saw several dogs that were very well-behaved; too bad their masters' weren't and didn't clean up the mess they left outside. Breakfast bar looked good, though we went out every morning and never actually used it. Staff shortages so they don't clean everyday; in fact, my brother and I were there for four days and our rooms were never cleaned. Plenty of towels left in advance, though. Expensive by Lower 48 standards, even though we were here in the shoulder season when prices dropped; friendly desk staff. They have a free shuttle to the airport and train station, but "doing" Fairbanks would be impossible without a rental car. Street construction makes it tricky to actually get here the first time, but Fred Myers cater-corner across the street was a real blessing for necessaries and a deli meal and fresh veggies, fruits, and gasoline.

"Nice Clean Property Good Location"
Safari64275297825, 03 Septembre 2022

This property's guest room was clean the lobby and breakfast were also very clean. "GREAT" front desk staff gave good suggestions on where to eat and the places to sightsee. Coffee is available 24hrs. Good location from the airport and downtown Fairbanks. Would stay there again!

"The Chena River Best Western hotel was convenient to the airport and provided an airport shuttle, had a comfortable bed,"
Brenda W, 30 Août 2022

We used the airport shuttle, enjoyed decent hot breakfast, comfortable bed. The Chena river best western is convenient to the airport and the Discovery Riverboat- which we highly recommend. We rented a car through turo and it was delivered to the hotel. Great Fairbanks experience.

"Great visit with welcoming staff!"
Mischelle65, 30 Juillet 2022

This was a great hotel with all the amenities you would ever need & very clean. They had a great breakfast, a great place to do laundry & especially sleep & rest. The staff was fabulous… Madeline at the front desk was so helpful, friendly & very upbeat. She was always eager to assist with a bright smile & gave great recommendations for restaurants & food. I would recommend this Best Western any day & would stay there again.

"Alaska trip"
rawyly59, 21 Juin 2022

Overall appearance of the room was ok however the bathroom floor was sticky. Bed sheets had stains on them, not a pleasant sight when pulling back the sheets. Sheets were fresh but stained. Breakfast offerings were not appealing. Bacon was packaged precooked bacon and cold. Eggs were cold as well. Mattress lacked any firmness, did not have a good night sleep for 3 nights.

"Worst of ~5 places I've stayed in Fairbanks"
D9001NUds, 06 Juin 2022

I've traveled to Fairbanks about ten times over the years and stayed in about 5 different hotels. All of them were fine, except this one. I got in at about 1am, dead tired. They gave me the key and I walked about 30 feet from the front desk to the room, to see that it was the room directly across from the only elevator in the building and it shared a wall with the breakfast area. So the door opened into the lobby basically. The place was mostly empty, but that was the room they decided to give me? The loudest, worst positioned room in the building? I went back to the desk right away and asked for another. The next room had no pillowcases, no trashcan liners, and I got the distinct impression it was the room somebody who worked there used to hang out in with their girlfriend or smoking buddies. There were a couple pieces of trash here and there and it looked heavily and recently used. The second night there, I was woken up at about 3am by the overpowering smell of someone smoking dope. It didn't smell just a little bit. I'm used to the smell of smoke, and I like cigars and don't mind the smell of weed. But it smelled like somebody was smoking in the bathroom of my room. I called the front desk, not happy. He said it must be the vent. The next day I got back to the room it was the same. I had to open the window. Overpowering dope smell. Every day when I got back to the room, and every night--overwhelming dope smell in the room. I chastise kids for being picky with food, and I hate waste and pretty much never throw away food. But the breakfast eggs were the worst egg-resembling substance I have probably ever had, with no exaggeration. I have eaten powdered eggs before and had no problem with them. But this stuff was terrible. The "bacon," I just really don't know what it was made out of. I took one bite of each, then threw it away and went to McDonalds. And the parking lot was a problem. It would have been a good surface for testing durability of off road vehicles. There were snow ice potholes everywhere, about 10" deep on average. My rental car bottomed out repeatedly just driving across it--BANG! SCRAPE! BANG! And I had to find the least bad parking spot and the least bad route in and out of it. Every day when I left for work and every day when I got back I had to navigate this. And, walking across it was a challenge. There's a good chance a normal person would fall without wearing crampons. Yea it's Alaska, but if it was my hotel, I would have gotten something done about it. Whoever was running this place either wasn't around or didn't care. This place was simply crappy.

"Dirty"
easters4437, 11 Mai 2022

Had a 2 night reservation made for this Hotel. Upon arrival, by the looks of the lobby, we had a very bad feeling of what was to come. Checked in with attendant whose name was Rufus. Very nice and mild mannered gentleman. We checked in and proceeded to our room. Once in, the room was nasty. This is the 1st time ever we refused this room and motel. Room hadn't been vacuumed, hair in bed and shower, I wrote my initials in the dust that was on the lamp. I never open our suitcases and proceeded back to the front desk and told Rufus that would not be staying here and demanded a refund of reservation not knowing what was to come. I was very pleased with Rufus and he was very apologetic and assured me my card would be credited. We left and went to another establishment down the street for 1/2 the price and it was very clean!

"need a good place to stay??"
ktcovcproject, 10 Mai 2022

They have a good complimentary breakfast 6-9 a.m./ close by to the airport/ shuttle van/ 24 hour coffee and tea downstairs, but you also have a Coffee pot in your room/ hair dryer, and mini fridge are good/ Fred Meyer west is across the street for your convenience shopping. sunrise coffee shop next door, and there's ATM machine by there. there isn't one in the hotel. OH!! the washing machine and dryer work good also, they have soap, and quarter's at the front desk. enjoy your stay!!

"Awesome Staff...Great location"
Dan G, 05 Mai 2022

This BW is near the airport in Fairbanks and has a Fred Meyer store right across the street. There is a Taco Bell across the street as well. Used the courtesy van to get to the airport the next morning. I stay in a lot of hotels and staff is really what keeps me loyal to a particular hotel. Rachael at the front desk is absolutely a pleasure. The room was super clean and hotel really nice. I will use this hotel again in the future.

"Unclean, unclean"
jmanderson2022, 23 Avril 2022

Maybe the cleaning rag left on the floor behind the door was a plant so I'd THINK the room had been cleaned. Large fresh blood stains, dirty bedding, and dried yellow crap all over the wall. Just nasty

"winter vacation"
Brenda Y, 27 Mars 2022

The people that worked there were very nice and helpful in answering your question. We went to Alaska for our first winter vacation to see the northern lights!!! With the help from the front desk, they told us where to go see them and the best places to eat and things to see and do. We really enjoy our trip and staying at this location worked out so well for us. It was closed to the airport and off the main road to get to every where you needed to go. We very much enjoy our stay at this location.

"Disappointing"
William F, 20 Mars 2022

got in at 11:30 pm from a long day flying. Took a taxi and just paid it myself rather than wait for the driver to come in and do some payment reimbursement. It's only $15 and their shuttle doesn't seem to be available ever. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was too hot at 83* and couldn't figure out how the thermostat worked so just shut the heat off since I was third floor room and heat rises. Shower was too cold to use. Internet and TV worked well. Coffee machine didn't have the little tray to hold the coffee packet so couldn't use it. Breakfast was good with bacon eggs and toast. Was going to walk over to the box store across the street but the parking lot was so icy you could barely walk on it...seems like they could pay a few bucks to sand it. I've stayed at this hotel a lot and it seems to be lacking in maintenance right now. For instance the mandatory closure for the door was not there. The room was clean and bed comfortable but really think I'll go elsewhere in the future.

"Nice Hotel, Good Location"
danieldouglass, 16 Mars 2022

This was a nice hotel to stay at for our vacation overall, breakfast was not great but we loved the cookies in the afternoon. Room was pretty clean, looked as though our floors were not vacuumed though. We had everything we needed with a microwave and a fridge and we were in walking distance tot he grocery store.

"Meh, not amazing, not horrible"
gabyiriarte, 05 Mars 2022

Breakfast is really good in my opinion: Hotcakes machine and Honey Milk Cornflakes Bread toast with jelly, peanut butter, butter Coffee and tea Juice Breakfast is open from 6am to 9am. You serve your own breakfast and can repeat as much times as you want. Housekeeping is not that good. Due to covid they won't clean your room unless you specifically tell the housekeepers or the frontdesk. If you want the beds to be set up you have to specify it. Also, they won't touch anything that has personal items, so you have to store them in the drawers or in your luggage before they clean. This hotel is almost in front of Fred Meyer, so you can go get groceries there by just walking a few minutes. However it's far away from downtown Fairbanks, stores and such if you don't have car. Wifi connection is fairly stable and good, I didn't have any problems with it during my stay. Also the shower had hot water, they gave us mini shampoo, conditioner and soap as in any regular hotel, which was nice. They have 2 vending machines and laundry room which can be very handy. The beds were comfortable too. We needed hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel when we arrived so we called them to come get us when we were ready. However, we waited for 45 minutes and no one showed up to pick us up. We thought they were going to use their shuttle (a mini van with the hotel name) but no... They called a cab! I called them again to tell them no one showed up and that we were going to go in another cab. However, te cab driver didn't give us a real receipt so beware! We are not from the US so we didn't know. The cab driver gave us a blue ticket, but he had to give us a white paper. With that white receipt the hotel can pay you back the cost of the cab. Because we didn't have that white receipt they didn't cover the cost of the cab. The heating system in our room wasn't working properly. The first day it was too cold and when we used the thermostat it wouldn't get warmer. We told the frontdesk to please fix it and they did do something with it but didn't fix it properly because after that our room was so hot. Every day it would get warmer and warmer, I don't know why the thermostat didn't work properly. So I told the frontdesk about this issue and they didn't make anything about it. They also say they have shuttle available but when we asked for it to go somewhere for a tour the frontdesk person told me that it was only available to go to the airport and train station with prior reservation. It wasn't an amazing experience but also wasn't the worst. If you want a decent hotel with no restaurant, just breakfast it's an ok choice.

"Beds"
ceciliaawiehl, 24 Février 2022

The beds felt kind of old to me. So they need to check out the rooms more on the mattresses. The one that I slept on felt was old and needs to be changed. Other than that the rest was really good there and they were really nice and helpful when you needed them.

"Zack is awesome!"
BlondieMaggs, 24 Janvier 2022

Great location - right near the airport. We were there during Snowmageddon. Their employee Zack went above & beyond for our entire weeklong stay. That includes the extra days we had to stay since Delta cancelled our flight home. We would absolutely return as long as Zack is still there! Fairbanks had about 6” of snow upon our arrival. Then got a couple of inches of ice. And then an additional 3 1/2 FEET. The management did not plow the parking lot nor the driveway. Zack got us unstuck several times, and would go out of his way to make sure we not only had everything we needed but also that we were safe and comfortable.

"I don't like it."
PhotoTrekkerWalomi, 05 Janvier 2022

I stayed in this hotel due to a flight delay. However, I would not suggest to stay in this hotel. If your flight delays, and please ask them to give you a room somewhere else. The location of this hotel is bad, and the shuttle service is bad as well. First of all, the hotel doesn't have a shuttle or they have a shuttle outside and it's not working at all. We need to call the taxi ourselves and it's kind of bad. Secondly, the hotel room we stayed this time was not good. The kind bed with standard bed pillow. The room is not cleaned thoroughly, and it's the worst night among all the hotels. I really don't appreciate it. Third, we reserve our shuttle ride to the airport but it didn't arrive on time in the morning. We spent about 20 minutes and still no shuttle and we need to take a taxi instead. If it were not for the woman staff in the morning tried to help out, I would give this hotel a 1 star rating but she rescued one star back.

"Great Hotel"
508loisd, 17 Octobre 2021

This was a great hotel. The room was clean. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on at a hotel. The staff was wonderful. The only thing I didn't like was the shampoo and conditioner bottles. They were too small. They also didn't have lotion. The bed, room and staff made it seem not that bad. If I ever come back to Fairbanks, I will definitely stay here again.

"Great Experience"
Reah128, 16 Octobre 2021

The hotel is close to everything that you would need. The employees are all helpful and friendly. Room was clean and spacious. The food was fantastic. Their shuttle service made traveling so much easier.

"Overpriced for poor quality"
bethanyhI3801PM, 15 Septembre 2021

the room was dark, cold, and lacked basic amenities such as TP and towels. The person up front at check in looked like a zombie and did not seem to care about anything. I don't expect talkative people after 10 pm but this guy didn't even try to be nice.

"HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE!! TRIPLE FAIL!!"
Paul E, 15 Septembre 2021

First -- we were quoted us a specific room rate over the phone when we called the Best Western Plus Chena River Hotel directly to book our reservation. We verbally confirmed that rate with the same person the next night when she personally handled our check-in at the hotel. When checking out the following morning, another desk clerk had trouble printing out our receipt and asked if she could email it to us later so we could be on our way. When we received the emailed receipt several hours later, our room rate was overcharged by $87!!!! We returned to the hotel to rectify the situation only to be told by a third new desk clerk that our credit card payment had already been authorized and the only person who could refund a possible overcharge was "off the clock." Second -- we booked the Best Western Plus Chena River Hotel specifically because it advertised a free 24-hour airport shuttle. Again, we confirmed with [not supposed to name names] when we made our reservation over the phone that we would indeed be able to ride the hotel's shuttle back to the airport the same evening that we checked out, inasmuch as we were only booked for one evening. "Yes, yes, everything will be fine, you're all set." But the hotel did NOT run their shuttle at all that day -- it sat in the parking lot. The desk clerk told us as well as several other guests that the hotel had shuttle sharing privileges with the La Quinta hotel down the road, but as time went on, this same desk clerk began telling guests that the La Quinta shuttle was not running as well. Eventually the desk clerk said that the Best Western Plus Chena River Hotel would provide us with a voucher for taxi service to the airport, but in TWO HOURS she could never get in touch with the taxi driver to pick us up. The only way we managed to make it to the airport in time for our flight was when my husband managed to flag down a random taxi driver who just happened to pass by the road fronting the hotel. Third -- the Best Western Plus Chena River Hotel would NOT provide us with accommodations if they, due to their multiple misrepresentations of their 24-hour airport shuttle service, prevented us from making our flight home, due to the fact that "we are booked for the night." When we specifically asked to speak with the desk clerk's manager, she would only say "that person is off the clock." TERRIBLE CUSTOMER TREATMENT -- MISREPRESENTED HOTEL SERVICES -- UNFULFILLED COMMITMENTS!! SPARE YOURSELF a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE of your own and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY at the BEST WESTERN PLUS CHENA RIVER HOTEL!!!!

"Filthy facility, stinky bathroom, debris lined elevator floor, cold "24 hour" coffee service"
bikerider7777, 13 Septembre 2021

We went through our local AAA travel agent for this hotel which complicates the reservation and cancellation process or we surely would have done something once we saw that we couldn't get the following situation corrected with the local management. I complained but they handled the complaint with the same level of care as their obviously incompetent level of housekeeping and cleaning. The toilet in our room wreaks of urine like they've never cleaned it or mopped and the discharge hole had fecal buildup. The clerk had to come herself to address the issues but she knew nothing of cleaning or disinfecting and got indignant and defensive. She offered to change rooms, but couldn't guarantee the problem would be solved and ran out of our room without solving the issue. Given that the corners of the elevator had unspeakable buildup of debris and knowing their lobby bathroom was also filthy we decided just to "suffer" with the unacceptable. BTW, they also claimed that the coffee service in the lobby was available 24/7 but they don't refresh it after morning hours and it's cold the rest of the day.

"Not What we expected"
everrainbows, 11 Septembre 2021

Wait until pandemic is truly over before attempting to use this facility for your travel. 24 hour shuttle was not running. They did call a taxi to pick us up and take us back to airport. Restaurants that were within walking distance were closed except for a pizza place and Taco Bell. Fred Meyer was the main source for dinner items. We were told that rental cars were unavailable so relied on the bus system. That was the one plus. They are operating on schedule and free so we were able to see much of the city and its attractions. Many venues are operating at reduced capacity due to Covid. The hotel right now does not have daily room service. There is a notice in the room that it has been cleaned according to CDC guidelines. Not sure about that. We picked up a partial candy wrapper, bottle cap and chocolate miniature egg from the carpet in our room. Staff are working long hours and are short staffed. They did bring us what we requested which were wash clothes and liners for trash cans. If it hadn't been for the bus lines the trip would have been a total bust.

"Best Western Fairbanks Alaska"
fourhamps, 07 Septembre 2021

I would not ever stay here again. After visiting Alaska for almost two weeks, this was our worst hotel. We checked in about 5pm. Our room door was open with lights on. Curtain rod was broke, beds were made but looked like someone had been on them. Bathroom light bulb out. No bathroom tissues. The room smelled of wet dog! And the A/C did not work. We asked for another room but was told that they were fully booked. Asked for the room to be cleaned and beds changed but no staff there so we had to change the bedding ourselves!!!! No maintenance to fix the A/C so we were offered a fan which we had to go get our selves from the front desk. Also offered air sanitizer due to wet dog odor. The bedding was old and soft. Enough noise from the floor above us that kept us from sleeping until we had to go up and confront them ourselves. All problems were reported to front desk, all she could do was "fill out a card"! Did not get what we were promised and paid for.

"Top Notch Best Western"
waldentenn, 30 Août 2021

This hotel exceeded expectations in almost every regard. The rooms are large and well appointed with everything functional. They offer a full breakfast. Service was fine . This property is much better than the other BWPlus in town.

"Very disappointed"
tammyb556, 29 Août 2021

Picked this hotel because it was close to where my son lives and the reviews were decent. We probably will not stay there again. Hotel is very dingy. The heater/ air had a weird noise . Only gave Ulysses one wash rag . Always ran out of coffee. Was going to stay another 2 days but decided to go to a different hotel

"Somewhat disappointing"
James B, 07 Août 2021

This Best Western appeared to be very new and has a nice somewhat secluded (and quiet) location. The name 'lodge' and 'Best Western Plus' deceived me somewhat as I expected a property that was maybe a little above the typical Best Western. I did not find this to be the case. The rooms were nice and typical but not overly spacious. We were there for three nights and housekeeping service was never provided, in spite of asking for it at the front desk on two occasions. This meant that the amenities provided on day 1 (1 bar of soap and 1 shampoo/conditioner) were expected to last for two people for three days? The property was just transitioning from grab-and-go breakfast to full meals. Our first day's offerings were disappointing but improved considerably the next two days, possibly because a second (and maybe more experienced) attendant was there. Someone continually used a stick to prop the side door open, reducing the security of the property at night. I suspect it was an employee who went outside to smoke. The front desk staff impressed me as indifferent, at best. Perhaps the property is having COVID-related hiring issues.

"Dismal Experiece"
johnwI5189MZ, 05 Août 2021

Arrived at midnight on July 14th, 2021. to find there was no room available. They could see our month old reservation and I had checked in via the internet about eight hours earlier at the hotels request. I guess our first hint of trouble was at the airport when we tried to call for the hotel for pickup and no one answered the phone. After about twenty minutes we took a cab. We were fortunate to find a nice room at the Wedgewood Resort for our one week vacation. It's rated five stars and was ten bucks cheaper per day. Final note…Spoke with the Best Western manager the following day regarding $14 paid for the cab fare to our nonexistent room. Still waiting for that….. .

"Perfect Location near Airport"
steelergirl87, 18 Juin 2021

The hotel has everything you need and was clean and comfortable. They are not yet serving their complimentary breakfast but you could order breakfast to go for each day. They will go back to breakfast buffet once Covid restrictions have been lifted. Masks within the hotel were required and Covid sanitation (hand sanitizers, etc) was instituted throughout. They were minimizing contact with guests so rooms were not being serviced, coffee makers were not in rooms (but coffee/tea always available in lobby) and this was all explained upon check-in. They are very close to the airport and we used the shuttle when we arrived - after 9pm their time - as well as to pick our rental car at the airport the next day. Everyone was very friendly. The shuttle drivers were both terrific. Although not downtown, they are close or a very short drive to restaurants and, of course, the ubiquitous Fred Meyer grocery, etc. store.

"A Great Stay in a Fun Alaska Town"
freelancesteve, 03 Juin 2021

This is our third visit to this hotel over a decade and we we have never been disappointed. It's clean, well located and close to shopping, in case you need to stock a cooler (or purchase one) for the trip south. This trip we have particularly impressed with the mostly young staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful, particularly with directions and area information. Whoever does the hiring should get a gold star. Rachel, at the front desk should get two stars. She was outstanding. A great stay in a fun little town.

"A Wonderful Stay"
christinadananderson, 26 Mai 2021

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location was perfect and near the airport and all types of transportation was easily accessible from this area. The hotel room was clean and breakfast service (grab and go) was a pleasant experience. The staff was also incredibly helpful during our stay.

"Excellent location for exploring"
OregonKea, 25 Mars 2021

The staff was helpful, polite & easily interacted with. The location is great for exploring the area. I walked, rode the bus, used Uber & shuttles. Especially nice to have an airport shuttle 24hrs. Room was clean, modified breakfast was plentiful and good. I will be back!

"5 star Best Western"
stork90, 13 Février 2021

Rates here are very reasonable for the area, and we had an exceedingly comfortable stay. We were on the top floor with a room on the back side of the hotel, and heard absolutely nothing, except a door closing in the hallway very rarely. The topper on the mattress felt like a cloud, and the HVAC system worked well, with ability to have constant fan running for white noise. Everything was super clean. The water was nearly instantly hot for the shower. You are given the option to order breakfast items the night before for pickup in the morning, but we went to a diner for a late breakfast after aurora chasing. The front staff are super helpful and friendly. There are limited outlets in the parking lot for plugging in your car overnight.

"Birthday Weekend"
otilla e, 30 Octobre 2020

Tyler gave us a warming welcome as we enter the Hotel we've drove from Anchorage Ak and I called for an early check in and she helped us out thank you and room's are super clean like Dimond Center Hotel in Anchorage Alaska and you get to choose breakfast as well which is a plus only thing I would suggest is to change shower certain other than that yall rock. Much love and Respect Otilla E and Kc R

"Basic hotel - 5 stars because of Rachel and Tyler"
coolmammaa, 24 Octobre 2020

Hotel location is great, 5 minutes from the airport. It's basic and fitted my needs. Cleaning standards were not the best. Breakfast items should be pre packed. Bed and comforter were amaaaazing! Customer service was great, Rachel, Tyler and Tommy were great and very friendly FD manager could be friendlier.

"Best Western Chena Lodge is not a Good Choice"
Kim1197, 01 Octobre 2020

Three weeks before our stay, I had reserved a king-sized bed, but when we arrived I was told," Oh well, we are booked and the manager made changes to the rooms, and we only have a room with two queen-sized beds." In retrospect: assuming that all of the mattresses at the 8.6 out of 10 rated BW are as broken down and lumpy as the two queen-sized mattresses in room 219, it was a good thing that the manager gave away our king-sized mattress, because we would have been rolling into each other all night long. And considering that the room doesn't have a working climate control system the room is a whopping-lie-bare-naked-on-top-of-the-sheets 78 degrees with the window shut; and 74 degrees with the window and curtain open. If one closes the curtain to block the exterior lights the room warms back up (ours warmed to 76 degrees before we realized that the heavy black-out curtain was also blocking the air flow). BTW the outside temperature overnight was in the low 40s. Why offer food? The boiled eggs I had the first morning tasted as though they had been boiled a year earlier and left in the back of a refrigerator to age (eggs are not like cheese or wine they don't mature to culinary perfection with time). If the BW doesn't want people milling about a common area to get their breakfasts, they could easily offer individual serving sized cereals and milk for their customers, rather than offering convenience store burritos and year-old boiled eggs and instructing guests to microwave them in their rooms. I am not sure if this hotel is normally at full capacity, or how many rooms there are, but both nights the small parking lot could not accommodate all of the visitors vehicles. It was so full that if there had been an emergency requiring fire response the fire trucks would not have had enough space to access the parking lot to stage their emergency response vehicles. I don't want this to be all negative, so I will say the place did appear to be clean and the room we stayed in was nicely, although somewhat typically and cheaply, apportioned . I would give them a 6 out of 10 for the rooms (not including the mattresses), and an 8 out of 10 for cleanliness, although if I had had a black light... I will never stay here again and I will seriously think twice about any Best Western.

"No consistent COVID Policy"
TwoTravelFar, 13 Septembre 2020

While traveling during COVID, a hotel's COVID policy is certainly something travelers are relying upon in making their decisions of staying at a particular hotel. According to Best Western's COVID policy stated on their website, they require all guests and staff to wear masks inside the public areas of the hotel. However, it doesn't look like this policy is applied consistently. This hotel only had a policy of requiring staff to wear masks and there is no policy that requires guests to wear masks. I did not learn about this until I got to the hotel (they have a small print out of this policy on the front desk) This discrepancy in applying the mask policy is very misleading, and made our entire stay uncomfortable. There were a lot of people around and most were not wearing masks. During our time in Alaska, we stayed at 6 places and none of these had a policy like that. Additionally, the staff was very unfriendly, the breakfast was inconsistent, the room, while clean, has only single pane windows so you hear all the traffic noise from the busy road.

"Over charged"
232Carolyn, 11 Septembre 2020

I have stayed at this hotel many time and have sent others to stay as well and every time there's a problem. Most of the time it's the Customer service and the billing. I have called the hotel several times and can never get anyone to answer.

"Good basic hotel. "
AlbertLosAngeles, 09 Septembre 2020

The hotel is basic but in very good condition. It is a good option for a layover or a short stay in Fairbanks and the nearby area. The hotel's location is somewhat questionable. Actually where to stay in general in Fairbanks is questionable because the town is spread out and you need a car to move around anywhere, only the little Downtown area is walkable. Anyway, the hotel is far from this Old Downtown area, it takes about 18 min to drive there. There is nothing really around the hotel, just a little drive-thru coffee shop, some other hotels and a few fast-food restaurants. However, there is a large grocery store that is across the street. I ended up getting a room on the first floor with a parking view. The room was completely quiet, but I had to keep the curtains closed all the time. My room was pretty big, the King-Size bed was comfortable. The bathroom was big enough too. Bathroom amenities' quality were okay. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi was not working fast. I paid $85 per night and I found this price reasonable.

"Quiet, great location, great beds!"
Z1820AVsusanm, 09 Septembre 2020

We loved this hotel. Despite being a mile or two from the airport it was pretty quiet and the beds were very comfortable. They have a small refrigerator and microwave and a nice tub/shower. It is right near the river and some great restaurants. They even had a little breakfast for us at 4 am. We will be back!

"Not great"
Cindyhideaway, 07 Septembre 2020

We had 2 rooms reserved both with 2 beds When we arrived after check in time they only had one room ready then 30 minutes later they gave us our second room which when we went in was only a 1 bed we had to go back to desk and then there was another room that was ready cross from our family like we had originally asked Then we understand the covid issues but they did not tell you their breakfast area was closed in the morning we went to get breakfast you have to wait for the one person who was not in any kind of hurry to hand you the very limited food items then the coffee was really cold he just said not my fault the other shift should have changed. The rooms were clean which is always the most important

"Great Facilities and Location"
Jamie H, 04 Août 2020

Everything about the hotel was great- one of the comfiest hotel beads I have ever slept in! They did a great job adjusting to COVID and I felt safe in the measures they were taking. Not a fan of some of the people who are hanging around the hotel, can make you feel uncomfortable, but that isn't Best Westerns fault. The location was fantastic. Close to the airport, grocery store right across the street, on the bike trail to run if wanted. The workout room was clean and had plenty of cardio equipment.

"Peace and Quiet night"
Laverne H, 18 Mai 2020

I had booked a room with a King sized bed and I wasn't disappointed. I slept the best and didn't have any issues with the room. I had a hard time getting up because the bed felt like a cloud lol. It was nice.

"Medical"
GRIBUONGIORNE, 17 Mars 2020

We used to come here all the time until service quality went down. Small annoying things such as ecards not working consistently, cold rooms, disruptive guests brawling during sleep hours, Accessibility minimal: ie. wheelchairs. Not deal breakers, just annoying issues which brings the overall service down. Positive notes: staff is friendly although not always present at desk Amenities are ok, gym room has nice machines Room clean and not too crowded w small fridge and MW which is handy Location: Close-to FAI and Fred's

"Great place to stay without a vehicle"
GeorgeTheDriver, 26 Février 2020

Came to Fairbanks to see the Northern Lights. Stayed here because it was within walking distance of Fred Meyer store. Our room was very nice and quiet. The breakfast each morning has many choices for hot items and varied each morning. Would definitely stay here again if we travel to Fairbanks. Yes, we did see the Northern Lights on our Arctic Circle tour and got some great photos.

"Excellent"
Road33896786681, 12 Février 2020

I truly enjoyed my stay here. I stayed in a suite with a kitchenette. It was my first time in Alaska and the staff was super nice. Rooms were clean and spacious. I did think it was strange that none of the rooms are actually in the hotel.

"Beautiful lobby"
jbrown14t, 12 Février 2020

The lobby is what stands out. Weird, I know, while the rooms are great, clean and affordable. The lobby looks like something out of an Alaska wilderness movie with a professional set designer. Live edge furniture, fireplaces, animals etc. a great way to start your Fairbanks adventure.

"Front Desk is Lazy"
I749DXnathans, 25 Janvier 2020

I am writing this at midnight. I've called the front desk 2 times and Tommy the clerk told me he can't do anything to silence the Asian family above me from running around in circles like sheep being herded. He said all he can do is move us to the third floor, at midnight?. Wtf. Second night here for hockey my son has been in bed since 9:00 pm trying to sleep. Last night same thing happened to another family on our team. Do not stay here! Front desk is doesn't care at all about doing their jobs. Will never return.

"A Solid Fairbanks Accommodation!"
JaySnider, 25 Janvier 2020

Best Western Chena River Lodge is definitely a solid option for lodging in Fairbanks. If traveling by car, it's even better. And, with another team member or two, and a bit of training, any hesitation I might have about this property would be resolved. PROs: - The lodge has a GREAT breakfast buffet! - Staff members (both shuttle drivers, both Ashleys, Lindsay and a housekeeper) are very nice and helpful. - Bath products smell wonderful! - The rooms are comfortable. Opportunities: - Upon landing after 9 hours of flying, I called the hotel for shuttle service. If the sole desk clerk is with a customer it seems that telephone calls are automatically (or manually) disconnected after a dozen rings. It only took two attempts to arrange for pick-up. - Airport transportation is complimentary but the shuttle cannot transport to the Fred Meyer store across the street. Round trip Uber service is $17 without a tip. - The key card entry system for my room was broken. After 3 trips to the lobby, the young (only) desk clerk left her station to give it a try. We got it to work sporadically and she suggested that I either just continue to jiggle the key or leave the door ajar if I needed to step out for a moment. Additional staff and some training might easily resolve the issue. - The blow dryer in my room didn't work. While initially frustrating, a delightful member of the housekeeping staff was next door and went out of her way to help. A solid four star place... could be a five star hotel!

"Get away"
193kennyk, 20 Janvier 2020

The best breakfast in town for a hotel anyway, sausage eggs biscuits and gravy and yougart, and of course COFFEE!!! The people working there are all great very helpful. Fire alarm kept going off had to move to a new room but other than that great!

"Nice staff, nice rooms, fgreat prices"
Michelle V, 13 Janvier 2020

Not only were the staff very helpful with their shuttle, they were attentive to any needs, and very personable! Checkin and checkout process was painless, food was great as well. Only note is that they allow pets on the 1st floor, and if you're a traveler that does not co-habitate well with dogs, I would suggest to simply ask to be placed on the 2nd or 3rd flloors. Otherwise clean rooms, and quiet location. Sleep quality was excellent. Thank you!

"You do need a car"
Trusstytraveller, 14 Décembre 2019

We stayed here for two nights and you do really need a car to get here. Reasonably centrally located and this was the last stop for us in Alaska. Beds were comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was adequate. Large open foyer but this is also the breakfast area.

"Excellent location! Superb hotel shuttle service and complimentary breakfast."
CFooJourney, 10 Novembre 2019

Hubby and I landed Fairbanks at 2am. The hotel 24hr airport shuttle was FANTASTIC! We just had to call the hotel after we landed and collected our bags. Ashley M came by in less than 10mins! She welcome us with a big friendly smile and sent us to the hotel where were greeted by the delightful Jessica. Thank you both for giving us such excellent and warmest service on a freezing November (3am) morning!

"Arora Chasing Vacation"
GhostHunter_10, 01 Novembre 2019

The Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge stay of 7 days was wonderful. The hotel was clean, quiet, and centrally located. The staff were all very helpful with any need we had. Our room was very clean and all amenities worked perfectly. We had a very pleasant stay and would be glad to recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Not the best choice"
OneAdvisedTraveller, 17 Octobre 2019

A few years ago, we stayed at the BW Pioneer Park, and this time, based on the price and review differences, we decided to stay at the Chena River Lodge, assuming we'll get an increase in comfort and sleep quality. Unfortunately, that was far from being the case. We booked two months in advance, noted two or three requests, and when we arrived, after 24 hours travel, none of them has been taken in consideration. Most notably, we got a noisy twin room instead of a quiet king room. The only excuse of the clerc was that we should have given them a call (we book between 50 and 100 nights a year, and I can't imagine calling every time to check if they correctly read our booking requests). The breakfast was… a typical BW breakfast, purely functional, nothing to enjoy. So, next time, if we choose again a BW, it will be the Pioneer Park, and we will maybe find a decent breakfast with the extra USD we'll save.

"Excellent service"
ahernandez43234, 13 Octobre 2019

I have a dog and the employee at this hotel is the best with dogs. They played with my dog and even gave her treats. I never had a hotel did that. They gave my dog attention and my dog loves that attention. We had one complaint about my dog barking after someone slammed the door at midnight. But overall I give this hotel and staff 5 stars. They are truly amazing.

"Very Good Value"
Bob W, 21 Septembre 2019

This is one of the nicer Best Western properties I've stayed at. It's a newer building, and has a nice breakfast. Their airport shuttle service is a great bonus. Also, this is a great location. I will continue to stay at this hotel when I'm in Fairbanks.

"Would book again"
Ramona T, 10 Septembre 2019

Clean , roomy, comfy beds, good wifi, TV good front desk service and best of all a room fridge ! Not as impressive as the photos and more expensive at over $300AUD a night than in Australia but we are continually told "it's Alaska " !

"Vacation in Fairbanks."
Krevy75, 08 Septembre 2019

Great place to stay. Was close to airport, shopping and things to see, Beds were very comfy, very clean, breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had free shuttle from airport any time of day.

"Nice comfortable stay"
shane c, 04 Septembre 2019

My wife and I enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Chena River Lodge. Friendly check-in, large comfortable room with good WiFi and nice bathroom. Free breakfast was okay and the location gave us great access to restaurants shopping and exploring the area. We would recommend this hotel.

"Great place ... but had a problem"
Flyer27912351564, 28 Août 2019

Clean, comfortable, quiet. But I had a problem with the door latch in that it didn't always latch. Reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done. After breakfast on the day we were to check out, we went back up to the room and decided to just give the door a good push … and it opened right up! Reported it again (same front desk clerk). She made a note ... but never expressed an apology. Avoid room 304 until they can prove the lock / latch has been fixed!

"A few days in Fairbanks"
DHC2hunter, 15 Août 2019

The front desk staff were always available and helpful and answered some non hotel questions Not only were the staff friendly the other guests were always cheerful and were satisfied with the hotel The hotel transport was available when requested shopping was close by

"Average Hotel"
Brendan F, 13 Août 2019

My girlfriend and I stayed here over the weekend. We were rudely woken up at 4am from an alarm clock we didnt set. The check in process was quite long as no one was on the front desk. They provided no resolution to these problems so in the end quite disappointing.

"Love Best Western"
bitsmom_tn, 22 Juillet 2019

This is a great hotel if you're in the Fairbanks area. There's a Fred Meyer for all tour shopping needs. The hotel is quiet and clean. Staff is super friendly. The room was clean and bed very comfortable (which is great since we went during their "it don't get dark period). The room also had black out drapes also. They serve breakfast - scrambled eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy, make your own waffles, etc. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

"Positive experience - definitely going back!"
baronvondelt, 15 Juillet 2019

I am a previous resident of Fairbanks and in the past have always stayed at the Best Western off of Phillips Field Rd because I thought that it was newer and more recently updated (in the 2014 time period). This time, however, I was flying in FB for two nights with four kids, and I selected the Chena River Lodge because of ratings and a price difference. I'm glad I did. We really enjoyed our visit, were well rested, and the accommodations were a significant factor to the positive feeling of the whole trip. Overall, the price was great, the facility was great, the staff were responsive and enjoyable to work with, and the room was clean, quiet, and restful. I am an IT consultant and usually stay Courtyard by Marriott when I am on the road. This stay at Chena River Lodge was as satisfying as my experience with Marriott. Things that really impressed me were the feeling of the sheets on the beds, the feeling of cleanliness in the bathrooms, and the fun interactions my kids and I had with the cleaning staff. I look forward to staying at Chena River Lodge on my next visit.

"Not the best"
Margaret F, 03 Juillet 2019

We only stayed one night. Rooms were clean. My only complaint is when checking in the staff was more interested in chatting with each other than checking us in. And I must say the breakfast wasn't up to the quality of others i have stayed at. I will be finding a different motel the next time i'm in town.

"Very pleasing"
jaytara, 15 Juin 2019

We completely enjoyed our stay at this simple but very comfortable hotel . Front-office staff ( particularly Lindsay) extremely helpful in arranging shuttles to the riverboat and to the airport, and allowing us to keep the room till 2pm since our flight was at 5.45 pm. Very good complimentary buffet breakfast.

"QUIET"
TataandPapa, 04 Juin 2019

This is one quiet place. It is close to the airport and right off the highway but it is super quiet. There is a Walgreen and a Fred Meyer right across the street for all your shopping needs. It is on a great walking path that is paved. There is a picnic table over looking the Chena River. The hotel is super clean and the staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast area was always kept clean and the food was fresh and hot. The selection of hot food changed every day.

"Clean, convenient, and friendly"
kysark, 20 Mai 2019

We booked through Expedia and saved $70 off the room rate at the desk. The room was pretty, clean, and quiet. We were right around the corner from the ice machine and near the elevators on the third floor, but never heard any noise. The hot breakfast was delicious.

"It's a Circus"
chrissyfay, 10 Mai 2019

First, if you get a room that sits on the balcony floor overlooking the lobby move immediately! No person on business or holiday should have to put up with the continuous noise that comes from the lobby, and I mean continuous. Now don't try and call the lobby before ten and ask them to be a little more quiet because quiet hours aren't until after 10PM so patron and employees can be as loud as they want prior too. Also, to the management, get your main entrance doors fixed, they squeak every time they open and close. Ohh and your elevator doesn't have any fire & safety inspection certificate and I'm pretty sure your fire alarms don't work. May want to get both those checked. Next time I visit the ‘Banks I'll be sure to NOT choose this hotel.

"Fairbanks Lodging"
Siobhan C, 08 Mai 2019

we were relocating to the lower 48 and had quite a few boxes, bags and other items that needed storing before we flew out. The staff was more than accommodating with our needs. Stored everything for us, took us very early in the AM to the airport. The hotel is centrally located to the local area. The hotel is pet friendly and my husband enjoyed the early morning breakfasts and afternoon warm cookies. Thanks for all you did for us!

"Quick, friendly staff"
Sightseer59410899530, 12 Avril 2019

I appreciated how quickly I was able to check in and out. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable stay. It was easy and convenient to get to local restaurants and a nearby grocery store.

"Good place to stay for reasonable price"
Debbie R, 19 Mars 2019

Very friendly and helpful staff, provided recommendations for nearby restaurant, walking directions to movie theater (including Uber option for $10 for 2 mile walk/drive; skip Uber and enjoy the easy walk);and arranged for cab when shuttle to airport was unavailable. Clean room and bathroom, nice toiletries. Adequate workout room, I used treadmill 3 times and had room to myself. Would definitely stay here again

"Pretty average hotel in Fairbanks, no pool or hot tub"
Philip F, 08 Mars 2019

I'm still looking for a satisfactory but reasonably priced hotel in Fairbanks. This hotel is acceptable but nothing outstanding. The coffee was somewhat better than usual. Breakfast was certainly acceptable but I was disappointed that there was neither pool nor hot tub, which is something I appreciate in the cold weather of Alaska. I will probably be trying a different place next time.

"Disgusting"
824steelef, 22 Février 2019

Unfortunately I can't give this structure a ZERO rating. After checking in I had to request new sheets as the set provided were stained with blood and other black smudges. The uninterested desk clerk wasn't surprised. The top cover was also stained with blood but it was small and I was expecting a better cover when the linens were changed. It was different, a new red stain appeared in a different location and was bigger. This is an old building with a new facade, thusly you can hear any noise within the building. This includes, but not limited to, other people's children running around until the wee hours of the morning and the ice machine in the hallway multiple doors down. There isn't any staff at the front desk from 7p till 6a daily, they tend to hide behind a door labeled 'houskeeping'. There aren't any security cameras except in the lobby. So if someone wants to run up and down the hallway with their dog, or scream at their kids, or have the local drug dealer access the building thru a side entrance the front desk knows nothing about it. Don't ask the front desk for any sundries you may have forgotten at home as the tyrade of unacceptable language while searching isn't worth a tube of toothpaste. Urine puddle under coffee maker causing stain on wobbly desk never cleaned after multiple requests. Zero USB plugs, and awkward wall plugs if you have chargers. I found this odd until I read on the hotel directory that they would be happy to sell you a charger. Nothing like nickel and diming your guests. HVAC system is older than moses, unresponsive and smells like burning material. And the bottle of unknown yellow liquid under the bed all week was just revolting. And on the last evening of your stay the maid will service your room no farther than to roughly make the bed, no new linens or bath items are provided. I will never stay here again. And don't believe the counter statements left by the management for poor reviews, it's easier to pay someone to make excuses than actually do a quality job. Don't ask the breakfast attendant for anything, as altering his normal daily routine just 'pisses him off'. And if you can. ignore the housekeeping staff berating the maintenance crew in front of guests kudos to you Do yourself a favor, stay anywhere else, like a homeless shelter. It's an improvement to this.... place.

"Wonderful "
Aztravelersfun, 13 Février 2019

This Lodge was is wonderful. They have helped me with every aspect of my trip. Ive hit all sorts of bumps on this adventure and they have definitely been a wonderful resource! Even getting me a taxi at 4AM! ❤️

"Great location with good price"
Maggie W, 10 Février 2019

The staff there is friendly and helpful. Bed and pillows are real comfy and lovely. Breakfast had limited choices but good enough for us. The location is great and convenient. The hotel shuttle was out of service at the time we visited but they covered up the taxi charges in between airport, which was thoughtful and wonderful.

"You get what ya pay for..."
O6465UHfrankk, 18 Janvier 2019

The phone didn't work when I got in the room, the temperatures fluctuated the first and second nights severely! Finally got it fixed on the third day. Asked for food a little early since I had to be to work early, NOPE! Waited until 5:55 to leave and still couldn't even get a glass of OJ! Not impressed...

"Reasonable Priced Hotel with great location"
Jimmie1947, 15 Janvier 2019

Arrived in Fairbanks via Alaska Railroad, called and shuttle was there shortly. Hotel is located near the airport, and after check in shuttle took me to airport for rental car. Hotel was clean and well appointed, rooms were clean and roomy, check in was quick and easy as was check out. The location gave easy access to all major tourist locations and Major Highways, North Pole about 20 min. Pipeline viewing point about 30 min, northern light viewing areas about 45 min, places to plug in cars (not needed in summer). Large supermarket across the street. We payed $2.03 for gas in Florida, was $3.19 in Fairbanks. They have a continental Breakfast each morning which meet our purpose vending machines with pepsi products. for better coffee many people were going next door to a coffee shop. I would return to this location and recomend it as great hotel in Fairbanks

"Good location "
Cathy N Andy J, 08 Janvier 2019

Two nights whilst in Fairbanks..convenient location with supermarket within walking distance , room had everything we needed for our stay ..only issue we had was with the air conditioning..could get it to switch off coukd only turn it down...but otherwise a good choice of accommodation in Fairbanks

"Best place in town!"
J1646QQtimm, 31 Décembre 2018

For my needs, Best Western is the best place in Fairbanks. Clean, comfortable rooms, good breakfast, attentive staff; close to the airport, shopping, and dining. Wouldn't stay anywhere else! Highly recommended.

"Friendly Staff and Nice Place"
KwameMicheal, 27 Décembre 2018

I arrived and was quickly greeted by the staff at the desk. The check-in process was easy and quick. Upon arrival in the room, I was pleasantly surprised with a clean and well laid out room. The room is comfortable with a bed, television, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, and other things that are useful.. The television has plenty of channels.

"Pleased with our stay."
shareenor, 14 Novembre 2018

We stayed here for 3 nights before starting our Princess Land and Cruise tour. We were met at the Airport by a very pleasant young man who took us to the Lodge. On arrival to the Lodge we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. We found it to be a great location for exploring the area. Staff were only too happy to help with suggesting things to do/places to see. The trip out to the North Pole certainly a highlight.

"So glad we stayed here!"
SamanthaG2651, 10 Novembre 2018

I just want to say first and foremost we enjoyed staying at this hotel. Great location as in close to airport and only minutes from downtown. My husband and I rented a car and it never took more than about 10 minutes to get anywhere from this hotel. Our room was very good for the price we paid and they kept it up everyday, except for one because we had been out late chasing the northern lights and had a do not disturb sign up all day. Even then they still knocked and asked if we needed anything. The staff was awesome! From the friendliness of the front desk to the people in the breakfast area, everyone we came in contact with was super helpful and pleasant. The only one negative, if y ok u would even consider it negative, is that they had some construction going on during the day. They did have a sign posted letting guests know and for them most part the work did not disturb us at all. Besides, if a place is doing work then that must mean it's to make it better. All in all we were very pleased with our stay and again I can't give enough kudos to the staff. When we come back we wont even consider staying anywhere else! Since we were up late most nights chasing the lights, we slept in and only got to take part in the free breakfast 2 days. It was really good as well. The had hot foods and meats along with pastries, bagels, ect.

"Best breakfast and wi-f- in Fairbanks"
William F, 04 Novembre 2018

Nice hotel at a good price. Good location near shopping and airport. The check in was polite and helpful. First room had a tub so had to change to room 106 with a walk in shower. Room is close to the breakfast so easy to carry it back to the room to escape the TV they have on all morning. The heater worked well. Comfy bed and chair. Table for eating. Fast great wi-fi. micro wave and fridge are nice. Big walk in showers in the king rooms. Breakfast is eggs and bacon and other items. Good TV with MSNBC news and HBO movies. But the remote didn't work and clerk couldn't fix it. Just gave me some batteries to try replacing myself. Didn't work. No business computer for printing tickets- must have been on the blink. Outer corridors and floor were dirty. Good exercise room with TV. Nice walk down the road. Nice free shuttle to the airport. Remains our favorite hotel in Fairbanks mainly because the king rooms have that big walk-in tiled shower and a good breakfast and wi-fi!

"Falls short"
IgnatiusTForthright, 01 Novembre 2018

We needed accommodations in Fairbanks on relatively short notice. We've generally have had good luck with Best Western properties so we flipped a coin and chose one of the two BW's in Fairbanks (Chena River). Not long after we checked in, we heard very loud metal grinding. After about an hour, I asked the front desk staff what was going on. She pointed to a small sign asking for us to "pardon the construction." The noise continued until 6 p.m. when the contractors left the site. The construction noise is one thing but the crew doing the work clearly has no sense they are working in an occupied building. The loud conversations are more distracting than the power tools and heavy equipment. The room itself is OK, about what one would expect from a chain hotel. The property is clean but housekeeping is not spectacular. The second issue with our stay was that I left a laptop in the room while we ran some errands. When we returned after a few hours, there were numerous files open on the computer, icons had moved, etc. The front desk assured me that the person cleaning the room could not have possibly tampered with the laptop. Maybe the files opened as a result of movement during cleaning, but the cleaning was subpar, e.g., the bathroom counter wasn't wiped down. Also disappointing, the front desk manager said she'd get back to me after I reported my concern. She did not. I had to ask the front desk customer service person (very nice) who updated me. Regardless of construction noise, the property is close enough to the Fairbanks airport to hear air traffic (and a good bit of road noise). Perhaps it's the runway orientation, but what we noticed was the loud noise of prop planes taking off in the morning. We've stayed at enough airport hotels to shrug at plane noise, but it deserves mention in the review. For experienced travelers, it doesn't take long to get a sense of a property. The BW Chena River seems relatively new so it shows well, but the property falls short of what we expected.

"Clean and Comfortable Stay"
Jeanette M, 29 Octobre 2018

When we arrived at the Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge the lobby was very inviting and comfortable with fresh cookies that were available. The front desk person was extremely nice and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed and room was very comfortable. Great location right across the street from Walgreen and Fred Meyers and the airport is right now the road. The price is very reasonable - especially in the winter months. We will stay here again.

"Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge, 1255 Tvsa Way near the Airport, Fairbanks, Alaska."
kanbaatar, 05 Octobre 2018

The Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge, is located at 1255 Tvsa Way very near the Airport, Fairbanks, Alaska. Actually it is just off Airport Way past University Avenue as you head to the Airport. Beginning with the front desk staff, all employees that I interacted with were superb. The property is clean and well managed. The breakfast that accompanies your room was among the best-of-the-best complimentary meals anywhere I have stayed. My room was outstanding. And? I got a lot accomplished in the small business center including some printing of online documents I needed to print. What more could one ask for in a Hotel? I really enjoyed my stay.

"Nice clean hotel"
415Cyclist, 04 Octobre 2018

Nice hotel. Typical Best Western property. Well cared for. Wifi was good. Room clean. Bed comfortable. Close to the airport. Breakfast was good. Laundry onsite. Blackout curtains kept the light out. In line with the airport runway. Heard a couple of planes, but was very quiet overall. Didn't lose any sleep from noise

"So helpful to paniced wife!"
shirleymWV, 28 Septembre 2018

The staff here was so helpful when I lost my cell phone and could not reach my husband who was on a tour to Prudhoe Bay. Everything finally turned out OK due to there assistance. The hotel is in a great location, is spotless and has a yummy breakfast. We have stayed there before and will definitely stay there our next visit to Fairbanks.

"Good choice to stay"
Chris S, 15 Septembre 2018

Was only there one night. My room was on the second floor facing Airport Way and I was surprised how quiet it was, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooms have wifi but I didn't use it, I used the computer in the business center just off the lobby. The carpet on the floor seemed a bit "industrial" for a best western plus but I kind of understand due to the harshness of the environment up there. The walk-in shower was nice but the I didn't like the push-button flush toilet. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the airport but I wasn't told about it at check-in but it is listed on the hotel services card in the room (if you read those). A taxi service operator told me about it when I called to arrange a taxi pick-up.

"Pleasant staff and good location"
Tracy Z, 13 Septembre 2018

We spent three nights in Fairbanks, the location of this perfect for us. The staff was super friendly, gave us dinner recommendations (The Salmon Bake...yum!) Breakfast had a nice selection each morning. Our room was clean a very comfortable.

"Very poor customer service"
rubywilson333, 04 Septembre 2018

Do not pay money to stay here. Very unprofessional staff at reception. Met 3 different individuals (including the General Manager) and all were equally rude and unhelpful. Every request was a drama and all need training in professionalism.

"Great Experience!"
BonitaBelle2013, 28 Août 2018

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shuttle service was free and the drivers personable. The breakfast ( waffle maker, hot items, excellent coffee!) was good with plenty of seating. Dragana, the receptionist, was the highlight of our stay. She was pleasant, patient, and helped us with all our requests. Would definitely stay here again.

"Great location"
KimGrierson, 28 Août 2018

We recently stayed here. I was a bit worried as our cab driver told us it was not in a great location. Totally untrue. This hotel, in my opinion is in a perfect location. It is opposite food outlets, a Walgreens and a Fred Meyers. It is also close to the airport and easy to get o other attractions, such as the North Pole. We hired a car and the hotel provided free onsite parking. Breakfast was also included. Brekky was really good, including hot and cold selections. The staff were really friendly. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I ever visited Fairbanks. They also have a shuttle from the rail depot and airport. Just call them to arrange it.

"not nearly as good as last year!"
Sarimento1, 27 Août 2018

BW Cheena had been my favorite spot when traveling into Fairbanks for years but this visit shows it's going downhill. The staff are still helpful and polite, so my guess is budget being squeezed and lack of management attention. first night, mattress was poor and in need of replacement; staff accommodated and relocated me second night, altho it was only slightly better. rooms were clean, but several small issues, such as nonworking electrical outlet, card reader not working on side entry, squeaky doors. the breakfast menu is being scrimped also, no meat item on one morning, no longer any whipped cream or fruit topping for waffles. too bad, since it's a great location near the airport and walking distance to the fred meyer and safeway. next stay, will try the extended stay across the street.

"Best Western quality"
JGW33782, 10 Août 2018

The location of this hotel is great! You're right on a major road and near the Alaska Highway that leads to Denali. The room was well appointed and very clean. The breakfast was adequate. The front desk was very helpful.

"Comfortable Fairbanks Lodging"
bryen2, 06 Août 2018

This property offers free airport shuttle service and hot breakfast. With a shopping center and lovely restaurant both within walking distance, it is a convenient location to stay in anticipation of further Alaska travel. Seating space for breakfast is limited.

"Clean, comfortable and friendly."
Carmen S, 01 Août 2018

The moment my husband and i walked in after a long long day of driving we were greeted with the warm friendly face of Nick at the front desk, he was very quick to get us booked in and was also very informative of the routine of the hotel. Thank you Nick, good luck in your endeavours and remember to check out Banff. The room was very roomy, and the beds were very comfortable which is very important to us as we had long travelling touristy days. Even though our room was right above the desk and the breakfast nook it was very quiet even thought there was a mens baseball team booked in, they were quiet. House keeping was exceptional and always had out room clean and tidy when we got back, bathrooms were spotless. The bathroom shower was amazing that it was hot and the pressure was perfect. The location was another bonus as it was very close to almost everything, groceries, booze, restaurants, Walgreens and had a bonus ice cream / coffee shop just a few steps away. The breakfast was probably the only thing that was a bit of a disappointment ( but just in my case, my husband loved it ) but it truly wasn't their fault as i have Celiac and although they had GF cereal ( i brought my own cereal and bread + toaster ) they had no other choices of hot dished, no eggs, no bacon or sausages. They even ran out of yogurt and they were not sure if the ones they brought in were gluten free...but i did not starve. Thank you BW Chena as you made our first experience in Alaska a very positive one.

"Clean and friendly hotel"
DonnaB1958, 01 Août 2018

We arrived in Fairbanks at 11 p.m. Alaska time (but it was very sunny) and were exhausted. I booked the room through Hotels.com probably a year before, so even though I am a Best Western Rewards member, I failed to tell them at the front desk. The clerk assigned us the closest room to the lobby. We were so tired, I didn't want to mess with asking for a move but really wished I had. We heard all of the lobby noise first thing in the morning with those getting their breakfast and the smell of waffles. Basically, didn't get much sleep. The hotel room itself was clean and the breakfast was really good, just wish they could have put me someplace else. The laundry onsite was a really great benefit and when the dryer failed to work, the day manager, Kristin, put it in the hotel's dryer to dry. We appreciated that a lot!! Also, there is a free shuttle in Fairbanks and it picks up across the street at the Fred Myers. Wish I would have known that before I paid the expensive taxi ride.

"Clean and comfortable"
Thomas S, 31 Juillet 2018

We stayed 2 nights in the middle of our 2 week tour of Alaska. Room was quiet except for the occasional morning airplane flying over, which was interesting to watch as well. Convenient location for getting to different parts of Fairbanks by car. Laundry room was useful. Across the street from grocery store, as well as the Great Alaskan Bowl Company. No surprises - the way I like it!

"Bait & Switch with Rewards Points"
User, 30 Juillet 2018

My wife and I walked into the lobby on Thursday, July 26, to ask whether our Best Western Rewards free night would be available at Chena River Lodge for Saturday, July 21. The woman at the desk looked up our account online and assured us we would be able to use our 14000 points for a free room on Saturday, after my half-Ironman race nearby. She made a reservation for us.

"One good thing"
Juliana S, 28 Juillet 2018

We called around 1pm and asked to see if it was possible for an early check in. They didn't have a Queen room ready, so they upgraded us to a king. Cool yeah, sure. Thank you for that. Yet, the beds! O man. It was the worst hotel bed I have ever slept on or even just sat on. And the pillows! I didn't even use one! They were small square pillows and so full and lumpy!! If you want to use your hotel room for something other than sleeping, sure it's a niceish hotel. But the bed factor is hard to get by.

"Good for a short stay"
Elizabeth C, 26 Juillet 2018

Friendly staff, ok breakfast. Breakfast staff has superior customer service! Wish the pillows were a bit larger but I slept well overall. Wish breakfast had more gluten free items. Overall not a bad experience.

"Winter getaway!"
carolcW9942BF, 19 Juillet 2018

This was a nice hotel...clean and adequate. The pool was quite small, but at least they had one! I loved the secluded location of the hotel. It was back in the woods and we saw moose right outside. Once you drove out their winding driveway, lots of foodie places were available. No free newspaper in the morning. Hubby thought that was odd.

"Well located for shopping and out of the hustle"
Michelle K, 16 Juillet 2018

Clean, efficient and friendly, good value for your money, in reality it's just like the photos.staff are very helpful, mid size clean rooms, beds were soft and comfortable bathroom mid size and clean. Breakfast good selection. Shuttle staff strong and happy to help.

"Great value, better than most"
gporter2018, 14 Juillet 2018

Great hotel, newer amenities. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was good. The staff is always willing to help with what I need. SOmetimes I have a very late check in or even very early check outs. It's never a problem. I like that the check in and check out process is very fast.

"Fair one night stay."
lizlubee, 10 Juillet 2018

We stayed one night at the BW Chena River Lodge en route to Paxson and the Denali Highway. The location is good and complimentary transportation to/from the airport is a plus. The room was clean and adequate in size, but as others have pointed out the pillows are small and very lumpy. A standard breakfast is offered but it was very crowded and we decided to go elsewhere. Unfortunately, during our brief stay, we experienced 2 problems 1) the AC was not working properly and it did not cool the room 2) excessive noise coming from the floor above us for several hours very late in the evening. In summary, this is an acceptable hotel but not one I would rush to stay at again.

"Convenient hotel"
Ronald C, 03 Juillet 2018

This hotel is located conveniently to the airport and many of the activities that we did. The room was comfortable. The pillows are terrible and very uncomfortable. They are the size of small throw pillows and are filled with hard small pieces of foam. It was impossible to get comfortable with them. Hopefully the management will invest in new pillows. The rating would have been higher if the pillows had been comfortable.

"Housekeeping needs improvement"
Klikes2travel, 02 Juillet 2018

The hotel is near the freeway and as a result, if you have a street-facing room, you may not be able to sleep well. Also, it is near the airport so a similar issue with noise from the airport comes into play, especially if your windows are open. The staff was nice although I felt like they had to be pushed to provide better service. I didn't find them to be proactive but rather reactive. The breakfast was fine but there weren't a lot of tables. A member of the staff brought out a folding table to provide additional seating but considering how crowded it became at breakfast, more than one folding table should have been provided. As for housekeeping, I'm not sure what happened in our room. One of the beds wasn't made and towels were left on the floor in the bathroom. I called the front desk and complained about it. Not sure what happened with the oversight but it shouldn't happen. When you combine the noise level along with the haphazard housekeeping, I don't think that I would stay here again.

"Friendly staff and great location"
eja46, 01 Juillet 2018

This is the second time that I have requested a group rate, and some rooms held, for family and friends coming to Fairbanks for a family event! The managers were great both times about doing this, and everyone had a great stay! The guests enjoyed being in one hotel, and getting to visit with each other during breakfast. It is convenient to stores, the university, and the airport, and there is a hotel shuttle. I definitely recommend this hotel.

"Convenient location and friendly staff."
Kurt E, 26 Juin 2018

We stayed two nights at this hotel before and after our float trip in the Brooks Range. The location is convenient to the airport and the hotel has a free shuttle. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. The first night was in a room with 2 queen beds; the second night was in a room with 1 king bed. The room with queen beds had more space. Both rooms were clean and fairly modern. The bathrooms were a little small but both rooms had a full size shower. The lavatory is small and can only be used by one person at a time. The breakfast is adequate and typical for this type of hotel.

"Stay Away"
fspandorf, 25 Juin 2018

I have stayed in many Days Inn, Super 8, & Best Western motels. The outside is kept nicely. Nice sitting area on second floor. The host is friendly. The room however was not acceptable. General maintenance was required for the bathroom. The bed was so old there were two large divots where people sleep and one can't help but roll into one. Even then it's terrible. The pillows are square lumps of what feels like clumped dried oat meal. Breakfast was the usual BW food except the scrambled eggs were over cooked powdered in texture and taste. When our reservation was made we requested distilled water be available for our CPAP machines. They didn't even know what distilled water was let alone have some. On top of all that were could hear aircraft flying off at SEA.

"One night stay"
mp2bh, 10 Juin 2018

They had a very polite and helpful staff. The hotel was clean and had a wonderful breakfast!! Food was replenished quickly for those just arriving for breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

"Good position, comfortable beds"
Carole W, 07 Juin 2018

The first night we could hear the air traffic but by the second we no longer noticed it but this only to be expected when it is fairly close to the airport. Staff really friendly. Coffee on tap all day. Large comfortable beds. Good location. Dexter was most helpful in the mornings with breakfast. Lots of choice including waffles. Only thing I would say is that the seating area for breakfast is very small with limited seating which was a shame. Otherwise a lovely stay.

"Very Good!!"
Jaynie M, 04 Juin 2018

Hotel has great service and a great breakfast crew. They are very efficient and were great to be around! I would definitely come back to this hotel, and I recommend others to come here as well. Great hotel and great service!????

"Convenient"

This hotel was easy to find, comfortable, and provided a good breakfast. The coffee was especially good and always hot. Pleased with the quality this Best Western offered. Will probably stay at one again.

"Comfort Stay Near the Town"
OHDBandung, 24 Mai 2018

We had a good rest in this hotel, after international flights and transits which took about 30 hours in total, this was a good break really. Arrived past midnight in the midnight sun so it was fun, plus the jet lag was still there. Overall it's a good one.

"Fbks BW"

all positive. Friendly staff. Good location. Ample parking. Near airport, but rooms well insulated from sound of other rooms and flights. Grocery, drug store, restaurants all within walking distance. Laundry facility modern and well located.

"great place to come in and relax"
Veronica M, 01 Mai 2018

I come into Fairbanks from working in a local village and I stay here because it is a home away from home. It is nice to wake up to a breakfast and be near a supermarket and local shopping facilities.

"Could've been better"
JBsaid, 29 Avril 2018

I want to say, the front desk staff was great in doing the best they could- I worked as a front desk manager many years ago, so I understand their limitations and authorized authority. The first night we dropped our bags in the room, right off the plane, and went out to see the northern lights (11pm). The room was a little cool when we dropped off our bags in the room so we went to turn on the heater and nothing.... the thermostat didn't work. Tried the unit itself, nothing. Called the front desk, he said to check the wall plug... he was correct. It was unplugged. Plugged it in, set the thermostat to 75° and off we went to see the Northern Lights. Upon arrival back in the room (after 3 AM), the room was a chilly 61° with the air blowing but no heat (right now you might be assuming why the heater was unplugged in the first place- why was this not already identified/corrected?). Called the front desk, he came and looked at it, not being a maintenance person, he understandably couldn't fix it. Gave us a couple options: relocate to another “neighboring” hotel (La Quinta), since every room was booked In our hotel, or he could give us blankets, take 1/2 off for the night (fair offer) and have hotel maintenance look at it in the morning. It was already so late, long day, we just settled for staying. We had to be up and onto another activity by 9AM the next morning (Friday, March 2nd), confirmed with the front desk that maintenance would indeed look at the heater and left for the day. Upon arrival at the hotel in the evening... no HEAT. The Maid staff cleaned the room but as best as I could tell maintenance had not been in (largely indicated by a non-working heater). Called the front desk, he came up looked at it (different person than the night before), and same result. He was very resourceful though and provided a space heater, which did do the job, and said he'd see if maintenance could come by in the morning. Talked with the front desk the next morning to verify the maintenance schedule, there seemed to be a disconnect as she was unaware of an issue, and also stated that maintenance couldn't come by on Saturdays or Sundays. So we were stuck with what we had, or could relocate to a different hotel. It's not an easy feat to move 3 people and all their snow gear to another place from one that was reserved well in advance- and no telling what quality we'd get going somewhere else with this late of notice (if this hotel is completely booked, most of the other good hotels likely are too). I've stayed at Best Westerns numerous times in the past and have always had great experiences, especially at ones labeled “PLUS”, so I was a little shocked to encounter this issue, which I suspect was an issue for whoever stayed in the room previous to my stay as well. Besides the issue, the staff here is very friendly, but that only goes so far if the lodging itself is inadequate. Following my stay, and prior to my review, this issue was submitted to corporate Best Western, however, they just referred the issue back to the local hotel, with no response.

"Poor"
johnlM2562GV, 26 Mars 2018

The hotel was dirty, the elevator was inoperative so I had to walk to the third floor, the HVAC in my room didn't work, and the food at the breakfast bar was cold. There are much better hotel options in Fairbanks.

"Location!"
Maestro2471, 25 Février 2018

Veyr close to FAI and is a pick up point for all tourist shuttle activities. They also provide free airport shuttle service. There was a power outage the night we flew so all phone lines were down. Khang was gracious enough to lend us a lantern lol Cigarette smoke seeped in our air vent from another room which we complained about and they gladly transferred us to another room the following day. Thanks to the very courteous front desk peeps - Khang, Casper and Kristen. Good breakfast! :)

"I hate to rant but.......traveler beware!"
Cherrie4, 20 Février 2018

As nice as the front desk personnel are and the genuine “I am sorry” it is not worth anyone's $$. If this is what you get for $80/night I will pay more. Stayed here in 2015, different quality/service, better. This time 5 nites, here are a few things, cleaning of room, bare minimum, and with the time change most travelers go through housekeeping should be available at least 9-5, if they have early days, and you are sleeping in due to your arrival after midnight-gone before 5. Free Breakfast- don't count on much. Do most utensils get put in the container where everyone touches the prongs of the fork, the bowl of the spoon and the blade of the knife? Well it happened everyday, and yes we washed ours in the room. Today they ran out of paper plates, and bowls- 15. minutes before the end of breakfast...so the front desk person left to go to the store to get some....leaving the front desk empty- (so much for if you want to check out) Guests have to continually go to the door of the kitchen (daily occurrence) and ask the staff that were usually drinking coffee and on their cell for bread, utensils, waffle mix, milk, eggs, you get the picture. One ice machine working for the entire hotel- third floor- first floor machine out of order for our entire stay. Really? This hotel was full of guests everyday we were here, from around the world, due to the closeness to the airport it's handy however. If you want to know that your actually paying for a clean place to stay with a decent light breakfast, don't stay here. Bed was comfortable however our room was 78 + every night with the heat off. They said they would fix it, yup, after the second, third, and 4th night it was not worth our time to again tell the front desk that our room was a sauna. Three days in a row a large, black smelly garbage bag was left by the elevator all day. (I took one smelly bag down to the front desk one day, and they said oh, thank you...it had sat there for at least 4 hours. Sorry but beware.....not worth it and will never stay at a hotel for 5 days in a row. You see way too much about the operations, or lack of. Sorry for the rant. I didn't mention the unplanned and unannounced firealarm test that lasted for 3-5 minutes, if you had a weak heart or were in the shower...yup you get the picture. Very, unsatistifed and be warned. I do not think it is up to guests to continually tell the hotel what the problems are. When guests commented how warm the rooms were, we were told and you can always open your window.....guess they do not care about heating costs which probably get passed on to the guests.....and yes it is February in Alaska and the lobby area had the window open serveral days, with the staff behind the desk wearing hats and their coats.

"Standard hotel "
wolf3728, 05 Février 2018

Stayed at the hotel for a week. They have a free airport shuttle. The room was a standard hotel room. Breakfast buffet was decent and they changed hot items every day which was good. WiFi was good, they changed the password on Fridays. My only complaint was I was at the hotel for a week and they never changed the bedding.

"quiet and clean and warm."
Judith D, 02 Février 2018

The only thing I wasn't happy about was the late hour we arrived and the vending was totally inadequate. Knowing the weird times flights arrive from the lower 48, why would you have only a junk food drink machine and an out of order snack machine? How about a machine with milk and or fruit or healthy snacks? Totally ignoring the needs of your guests. The refrigerator in the room didn't work, but the window is a double and I was able to store some perishables.

"Terrible, do not stay here"
enalaska, 25 Janvier 2018

Truly a 0 star for this place. Customer service at this hotel is AWFUL. My last experience at this hotel was so bad, that I will never be staying at this location or any Best Western ever again. I won't go into detail, because last review I left, the hotel went so far as to having it removed, which I think is pretty shady. It might be a convenient location, but with essentially no customer service and shady employees, it's worth it to stay somewhere else.

"stop over"
Veronica M, 08 Janvier 2018

I had to stop over in Fairbanks because I am teacher in one of the village schools. I stayed here my first night and continue to stay here when ever I can come into town. I like this location because it is close to Fred Meyers and the Airport.

"Clean hotel near airport and grocery store"
owt_u, 02 Janvier 2018

I had a one night trip in Fairbanks, and selected this hotel for the close proximity to the airport, being next to a grocery store (Fred Meyer), and easy access to the highway. The hotel was very clean and modern. We were able to check in half an hour early, and our room was on the second floor. All three staff members that I interacted with were very professional and courteous. The room seemed to be bigger than a standard Best Western room, but I am not sure if all rooms are this way. Room was clean, large shower, and bed was comfortable. Only issue I had was our TV remote did not work, but the front desk replaced that right away. We did not have any issues with the noise from the outside or other rooms. Continental breakfast was standard with the waffles, eggs, pastries, etc. Wifi speed was good and never had issues with it. I will stay here again when I come up to Fairbanks.

"Pleasant place to stay"
malcolmmanners, 15 Décembre 2017

I usually stay here when visiting Fairbanks, often with groups of college students. The rooms are pleasant and the staff are helpful. Their location is good -- near the airport and within walking distance of grocery and other stores.

"Get a top floor room."
John M, 10 Décembre 2017

Wife and I stayed her for 2 nights. The 1st night we had issues with the heat in the room. Somehow the heat/cool switch did not work. The a/c ran all night long. We did let the hotel know about it the next morning and it was fixed. The 2nd night a family checked in about 9:45pm and made a lot of noise getting settled in the room. 2 calls and a trip to the front desk got the problem resolved. Check in and staff are quick and efficient. They offer a complimentary hot breakfast. The hotel is located about 2 miles from the airport and has shopping available across the street as well as a Walgreens.

"Welcoming but noisy"
Ssellars@hotmai... S, 08 Décembre 2017

For the most part I enjoyed my three day stay at the Best Western in Fairbanks, mostly due to the very welcoming and friendly staff. It is also very conveniently located 5 minutes from the airport and opposite a Fred Meyers store. The woodland at the back is very pretty although I could not get close enough to see the river possibly due to snow cover. The one drawback was the noise at night: from the lobby, from elevators and plumbing, and from movement in the third floor above me and the hallways. It made sleeping difficult. The hotel was comfortable and clean with a good choice in the help yourself breakfast - not gourmet but mostly fine. Eggs, bacon, make your own waffles, toast your own bread, bagel or English muffin. I would go back there because the price is also reasonable and it is nice to have s fridge in one's room.

lydia f, 05 Décembre 2017

Nice experience. Staff extremely helpful, would even call to announce if the aurora borealis was happening. Went out of their way to make stay pleasant. Crushed up peppermint for hot chocolate, gave great advice on where to dine, and served a nice hot breakfast

"Great Place"
luisrH834II, 01 Décembre 2017

Great place to stay on vacation. Close to enough businesses to not need a vehicle. Clean room, comfortable beds, and a good hospitable staff. Beautiful location and airport shuttle. Breakfast was set up well and food quality was good.

"Tried Property"
edwardj152, 08 Novembre 2017

When we visit Fairbanks, we would always stay here because it was a well maintained and reasonably priced motel. Unfortunately, this motel has deteriorated quite a bit since our last stay and is in need of remodeling, upgrading and facility maintence. During our last stay, we needed to change our first assigned room because it smelled of sewer odors. Our next room smelled fine but the shower stall was badly stained with either mold or something else and the grout around the floor drain was missing. Shame to see this motel in this condition.

"Not a BW Plus experience"
Howard B, 23 Octobre 2017

This BW Plus is not what we see in the lower 48. The shower tile needs grout, shower stall looks dirty, the bathroom door is water damaged from shower, the floor has not been mopped, if you put soiled clothing on the floor, it picks up dirt from the floor. Room amenities are not replenished, need to ask for them. At breakfast, the the food trays are not kept full and if there is food, the eggs are old and rubbery, not fresh. Used to using a spoon to get scrambled eggs, not kitchen tongs Found the food trays are usually empty and we have to ask staff to replenish. We had to ask for toilet paper on two occasions. The TP rolls were at half used status when we arrived and no noTP on the shelf to refill. When asked for a linen change, they just made the bed, same sheets. We were here for 9 days. Not enough tables in breakfast area to seat guests, had to take food back to our room to eat. Breakfast items are not organized and user friendly, guests helping one another find where the condiments are. Not greeted when checking in as we are used to at other BW Plus (points or gift bags), no cookies at night, no service carts for luggage available, except when checking out. No coffee, chocolate or tea available 24 hours in lobby. It has the name, but not the service. Very disappointed in this particular BW Plus hotel. We will try the regular BW next time.

"Staff are great but hotel can be noisy"
Ernest W, 13 Octobre 2017

The hotel is nice and easy to get to and staff are nice. The hotel gets noisy sometimes and hard to rest. It is a good price in the winter and that leads to a noisy crowd staying there over night. I have stayed here several times and some nights it is a great place to stay. Then on some nights it is so noisy that it is impossible to sleep. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay that is clean and staff are helpful this is a good place.

"Alaska vacation"
425christalv, 04 Octobre 2017

the hotels was clean and quiet in the inside. it is near the airport so planes are constantly going over but not at all bothered by the sounds. Breakfast was very good plenty of items to choose from. My only complaint or I guess disappointment was the fact that they are on the Chena River but the land in back of the hotel is not cleared and you can't get to or even see the river even from the highest floor of the hotel.

"Best Western Chena River Lodge Fairbanks"
452gabriellet, 01 Octobre 2017

I like this BW, the staff was talkative and friendly. Good location, near large grocery store/gas station within walking distance across from the hotel. Next to it is a city greenbelt, nice to walk around. Also next to the hotel is Breakfast/lunch stand with really good breakfast burritos, sandwich bagels and coffee/tea. I have been there before and choose to go there instead of having breakfast at the hotel. Got it to go. The room was an interesting green color, and brown. It was clean, bed was decent. No smells on either pillows or mattress. Overall a good night sleep. My room faced opposite to the parking lot, the view was of trees. I like the attention to details, like the trash containers with a decorative fence to conceal them. This is a good hotel, I would stay there again. The price was decent. Easy to get to.

"Great Choice"
Donald F, 19 Septembre 2017

First visit to Alaska. We left the 108 degree southern CA tempts and landed in 46 degree Fairbanks. The BW Chena River was warm and inviting the minute we walked through the doors. The desk staff were helpful with directions and suggestions. The room was comfortable. Great start to our 11 day Alaskan trip.

"Nice Best Western"
341georger, 18 Septembre 2017

Spent two nights here. Seems to be a fairly new BW hotel. Room was standard for BW, nothing special. Clean and everything worked. The breakfast was pretty good for an included breakfast. I thought it was a good value and am happy with my choice to stay there. Spent most of our time out of the hotel doing things. Was a good, clean place to return to and rest.

"Very nice stay!"
Taylor S, 17 Septembre 2017

Had an awesome stay at this hotel, the staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bed was comfortable to sleep in! They provided an airport shuttle and made check in/check out super easy for me.

"One night in Fairbanks"
Mabel L, 16 Septembre 2017

I'm glad I chosen this hotel for my transition stat in Fairbanks for the cruise The hotel is much better than I expected and more The staffs are very helpful I recommend this hotel without any hesitation

"Best Western Chena River"
938nancy, 12 Septembre 2017

The hotel and staff were great. The location was very desirable for our needs. The only down side was no fresh cookies at check in, but then again, my waistline thanks them for that. I would stay here again!

"Average Stay"
Barbara Y, 07 Septembre 2017

This Brst Western is showing it age. The check in staff told me that they are in the process of updating this hotel and I agree ithis hotel needs a face lift. One area that could improve are the number of tables and chairs during the breakfast. My suggestion would be to have available temporary table and chairs available or put up during the breakfast hours. 5 tables are not enough for a fully booked hotel.

"holiday"
cocknykid, 07 Septembre 2017

stayed at chena river lodge best western was ok breakfast avererage, hotel staff friendly, promised me an best western stay card never got it, dont have a shuttle but will pay for taxi to and from airport, rooms ok pillows not very comfortable had to get a new pillow from front desk as they are not in all rooms

"Best Western Chena River"
T P, 29 Août 2017

In Fairbanks often on business and I stay here when available. Great staff, quiet, good internet connection. Rooms are well cared for and up to date on amenities. Breakfast area is a bit small, but other than that no complaints

"Good Location close to the city but in it's own setting"
Gary S, 28 Août 2017

This hotel has a good location only a couple miles to down town Fairbanks, yet it is set on a small loop road that is very quiet. The setting is quite pretty with a short path leading to the Chena River. There is a small foot bridge across the Chena leading to Pioneer park which has lots to see and do including many old log houses/cabins from the original downtown Fairbanks. The hotel itself has really nice beds, a decent breakfast, good parking, nice sized rooms, a pool, work out equipment, free internet, good tv's but very limited cable and the guide in the room didn't match the channels. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel could use an up-date and the hall cleanliness left something to be desired. The breakfast area was often over-crowded because the room is quite small. The free breakfasts were pretty much what you would see at a Holiday Express or a Hampton. Overall a decent place to stay. Priced pretty high for what you would expect in the lower 48, but in line with Alaska pricing. I would rate this as an average to pretty good hotel. Nothing seriously wrong, but a bit old and hall cleanliness was a bit lower than expected. Also, the cleaning solutions used in the rooms smells quite strong. One issue we had was while the rooms are supposed to be non-smoking we had to change rooms because the one we were originally given had a strong smell of smoke. The second room was much better but they had used a chemical to cover the smell of smoke in that room as well.

"Good location "
Betty W, 26 Août 2017

Stayed 4 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was centrally located to our excursions and the staff was friendly and professional. The laundry was a little expensive but not out of line by Alaska standards.

"Fairbanks Best Western"
chrishS2358XY, 22 Août 2017

the parking is a concern during the deep cold months to access a plug in. The lobby and food court are always clean and well maintained. The breakfast is adequately satisfying. The rooms are clean, well organized and facilitate working or relaxing.

"Great Hotel"
173royl, 14 Août 2017

Of all the hotels I stay at this is by far the best staffed hotel from the front desk to the cleaning team. You would think you were at a 5 star hotel by how the staff treats you and how clean the rooms are.

"Good hotel with a terrible bed"
omjee, 11 Août 2017

Overall very satisfied with the service staff. You stay in hotel for the purpose of getting some rest and get ready for next day. Not for us. Room was fine except for the bed mattress. It was like two people sleeping in a single person hammock

"Inattentive House Keeping Staff"
Thomas S, 07 Août 2017

Huse Keeping staff missed cleaning my room at least 3 times over 11 nights, had to ask them to change the bed sheets after 8 nights and they never cleaned the toilet. On the other hand, breakfast was very good and location of hotel is convienent to airport and shops.

"value ok but need to focus on cleaning bathrooms"
748peted, 06 Août 2017

enjoyed our stay in Fairbanks and Anchorage Alaska. Lakefront in Anchorage was especially nice. Personal @ the Lakefront were also very helpful with airport shuttle, ideas of local places to dine and things to do within walking distance of the hotel. Thank you

"Very nice place to stay when in town!"
Richad B, 30 Juillet 2017

This place looks new. The lobby, grounds, and rooms are new looking. The staff are all really friendly, the room smells clean, and need nothing. We tend to stay at Best Westerns when on road trips, they are all nice.

"Nice facility but poor Wi-Fi and uncomfortable beds. Nice Shower!"
TheBucketOfTruth, 30 Juillet 2017

I was going to give the place 3 stars but realize one of my biggest gripes is somewhat selective. The mattress is very soft and then has a topper so you sink in A LOT in the bed which kind of puts your body in a U shape that I find makes it tougher to sleep through the night. The facility is less than ten years old and the price was somewhat reasonable for the area. One of the most important things for me is a good shower with proper pressure and they did this much better than Sophie Station where we were before this. The Wi-Fi was quite slow if you could even get it to work, but they had ethernet in the room (which not everybody has a port for these days) which was a reasonable over 30 MB/s. I would try another spot in Fairbanks next time I'm here but if you like a really soft bed you shouldn't shy away.

"Worst hotel experience in the last 5 years"
Paul R, 27 Juillet 2017

This hotel looks good from the outside and has reasonable rates for the area; however, the experience was awful. The "non-smoking" room had a putrid smell of stale smoke that for me was nearly intolerable. The "breakfast" was completely out by 8 AM on both mornings with no oatmeal, no hashbrowns, no eggs, no donuts left with no evidence of any staff around to replenish it. We ended up having to go out each morning to get breakfast. The internet did not work at all the first night...the second night it worked however it was extremely slow. On the first night there was a fight in a room above us at around 1-2 AM...when I asked the clerk about it the next AM he acted non chalant...there was no apology or offer to move us or make it right. There were no wash cloths in the bathroom. Overall I would say this hotel is without management and should be avoided.

"Great night sleep and location to boot"
kaybD5800UG, 23 Juillet 2017

We will stay here again! A very nice hotel experience. Checked us in early even. Good coffe standard waffle stuff could use more fresh fruit. Laundry facility was great and soap available. Towels set okay quiet rooms

"Below Fair in Fairbanks AK"
Doyle B, 18 Juillet 2017

At check in, the staff was having a hard time understanding the guest ahead of me and basically told her she was not checked in under her last name. I was not greeted with an option to receive a gift bag or points due to my status privileges. The room was below average (for the price) and the bed was completely uncomfortable, sagging in the middle. It felt like I was in an adjustable bed, without the adjustment...

"Over and above"
Julie O, 15 Juillet 2017

Incredible customer service...Grueling travel day never made it to Fairbanks, missed flight called hotel at midnight to let know we wouldn't make our reservation and they just said glad your safe no charge.

"Alaska"
V2091UQstevenw, 28 Juin 2017

Price was not what I was used to, but fair for Alaska where everything was a little more expensive. The weather was surprisingly warm the first two days but got cooler the farther south and west we traveled. Great trip!

"Convenient location, and looked brand spanking new"
SofaKingdom, 24 Juin 2017

I had a pretty brief stop in here on my way from Anchorage to Central, but everything went great. The lobby smelled of chocolate chip cookies when I walked through the front door, and I helped myself to one while waiting to get checked in. Check-in was quick and the clerk was very friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Breakfast choices we sufficient and suited my needs. Very nice choice for someone e looking for a hotel in Fairbanks.

"Good service, but room needs update."
rjs15, 11 Juin 2017

Convenient location for train and airport; with shuttle service to both. Room was good size and clean; breakfast was adequate. Only negative is I had a terribly worn out mattress that sagged significantly. Would not sleep on it a second night.

"Convenient location, nice facilities"
Hifast, 10 Juin 2017

Conveniently located on the west end of town across from Fred Meyer and near the Parks Highway. Espresso stand next door. Breakfast was satisfactory--limited selection and hours. Nice facilities, great staff, but limited trailer parking.

"Home Away From Home"
MNMomOfFive, 08 Juin 2017

We recently stayed at this hotel for 9 nights while visiting our son who is stationed near Fairbanks. We were traveling with our younger children and this was truly our home away from home for that time. The beds were very comfortable, the shades kept out the sunlight at night and the rooms were very clean. The breakfast was good, there was always hot coffee and cold water available as well as fresh cookies in the evening. The staff was always very kind and helpful. I highly recommend the Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge!

"Fairbank, AK Review"
I3543JPlarryg, 07 Juin 2017

This is a hotel with good location. Check in/out was easy. Poor amenities such as soap dispensers. They are either empty or inoperative. My tools were stolen out of the back of my truck. I did not report this. Truck was parked in front of front entry. Should have known better.

"Good experience overall"
Jose M, 31 Mai 2017

24 hr airport shuttle was a plus for us; there was a 30 minute delay in getting front desk to order airport shuttle to airport. Good breakfast; room and bed were comfortable. Free Internet access also a plus.

"Great place to stay."
956lyndat, 27 Mai 2017

We had plenty of room to park a car, a truck and a trailer in the well-lit parking lot. Staff was super friendly. We were able to get a room facing the parking lot so that we could check on our vehicles. We all got a good night's sleep and enjoyed breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend this hitel

"Better than expected "
charliesthomasjr, 26 Mai 2017

Large shower with hot water. Most of this trip the other hotels water has only been warm and small showers. Nice size room with 2 queen beds. Short distance to downtown and airport. Across the street from Fred Meyer.

"And Puppy too"
TIMBATOO, 21 Mai 2017

We were excited to run up and go see the Ice Sculptures in Fairbanks. We needed a nice place to stay, reasonably priced. Also we needed to bring out pup with is. She's a well mannered Springer Spaniel but still a dog. These folks accommodated us with no problems. I hope nobody wrecks it but bringing some rowdy destructive dog in because it was great and the staff and room was also. Thank you!!

"Convenient"
horseykate, 19 Mai 2017

Very convenient for airport. Minimilastic entrance so not appealing on first entering. Room clean. Wifi good. Breakfast very good considering it was free. Great choice. Staff average - front desk helpful with taxi. Would recommend as so easy and convenient.

"Nice hotel, bad service."
Jeremiah J, 10 Mai 2017

Clean and comfortable room, but bad service and rude staff when checking in. I booked online through the best western website, when I arrived the staff were rude and claimed that there were no available rooms. Eventually they assigned me a room but it had not been cleaned, the bed was not made and there were dirty towels on the floor. I went back and informed the woman working at the front desk and she was very rude, claiming I should have known that the hotel was booked up, even though the website had allowed me to pay and reserve a room. After 15 minutes of standing in the lobby they finally gave me a clean room on another floor. Overall the hotel was nice, but the staff was not. I will probably choose a different hotel next time to avoid the trouble.

"Nice place with a free breakfast"
Bob W, 01 Mai 2017

I usually stay here when I'm in Fairbanks. It's in a good location, has a free breakfast, and is quiet. My only complaint was that on my most recent trip, I couldn't get the TV remote to work in the weight room (cry me a river, I know).

"what I found was a benefit our plus"
U608LKericw, 25 Avril 2017

Close to airport rooms clean breakfast excellent for all types of people staff friendly Wi-Fi was good close to several restaurants near airport for early morning flights close to some sightseeing areas

"Good place"
Guilherme S, 18 Avril 2017

Near the airport, with some shops nearby, this is a great place to stay, specially if you are just staying for the night while preparing to go further inland in Fairbanks (which was my case). Wi-fi has a good signal for the area, good enough to check your emails (not sure about video streaming, though). One of the best beds I've slept in a while. Breakfast is awesome.

"Good and inexpensive"
KirklandTom, 10 Avril 2017

We came up from Seattle for Spring Break, and stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is good enough. It's very close to airport, and not far away from downtown Fairbanks. The room is big and clean. Free breakfast, free parking and free Internet are offered. There are Fred Meyer, Walgreens and Safeway nearby, so you can buy stuff easily. The only significant downside is that WiFi doesn't work well.

"Neat and Clean, convenient and comfortable"
Girish M, 10 Avril 2017

Rooms are big, well equipped with gadgets like fridge, TV and even a microwave. Breakfast is basic stuff only but still good that's its provided as the hotel does not a restaurant. Staff is quite professional and friendly, Check in / check out processes are smooth and quick.

"Great place to stay while in Fairbanks"
S5607IMvictorias, 31 Mars 2017

We were pleased with every aspect of our stay, and would recommend the hotel and their staff for your visit. Convenient location, attractive hotel, modest price with a wide assortment of breakfast choices

"Week in Fairbanks"
Donna I, 25 Mars 2017

We checked in late one night and we were "hit" with a very strong urine smell. Informed the front desk clerk of this and he offered to move us to a different room, but no other king sized bed rooms were available. He did bring some deodorizer to our room, and then house keeping did a "deep cleaning" the following morning. This did not get rid of the smell completely, but it did help. We also discovered part of a bottle of wine in the refrigerator. There were no coffee cups in the room for coffee in the AM. Our room was not cleaned two days in a row. We had notified housekeeping on the first day, and also notified the front desk clerk the second day -- but our room was still not cleaned! We met with the GM on the third morning to state our displeasure of this, which did get our room cleaned! Due to a security check, they locked everyone out of their room, but neglected to tell us about it. I spoke with the front desk clerk, a girl we had not seen before, and she reissued our room keys, but put the wrong room number in! Nick, at the front desk, was more than helpful through all of this. Also, Danielle, the person who made the breakfasts during the week days, did a wonderful job. Not real happy with our stay there!

"Fairbanks at -30"
jasd53, 23 Mars 2017

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was freezing cold outside, but warm and cozy inside. My brother, husband and I were on a winter vacation trip to Anchorage and Fairbanks. The room had 2 queen beds, coffee maker, fridge and micro. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us. The breakfast in the morning was great. The best part was the awesome staff at the desk. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The girl who puts together the breakfast in the morning works extra hard to make sure everything is kept clean and ready. We would definitely stay here again

"Repeat Customer"
Magen J, 25 Novembre 2016

I travel to Fairbanks a lot for work and I won't stay anywhere else. The staff are friendly, the rooms are large and the beds are comfy. I've stayed several dozen times in the last few years and of course every once in a while room service gets missed, but I feel like every stay can't be SUPER PERFECT. The staff know me by name and know what rooms I like, so they take good care of me. Check in and check out is super easy and fast. Plus, it's right by the airport so it's convenient to drop my bags off before I start a full day of meetings. Love this place.

"Good affordable Fairbanks Hotel"
Matthew L, 21 Novembre 2016

Friendly and Knowledgeable staff with a beautiful hotel right on the China river. Excellent choice whether visiting in summer or winter months. I recommend speaking with hotel staff about activities around town they were very helpful and friendly for all of my visits.

"Nice Fairbanks Hotel"
NeilfromDayton, 20 Novembre 2016

We had a pleasant 3 day stay here. Our room was spacious, well equipped and very clean. Hallways and stairways were wide, nicely carpeted and very clean. Front desk service was efficient and polite. Breakfast was way above average for a freebie. The night clerk offered to ring our room if he spotted Northern Lights during the night.

"Bowling"
Jean H, 14 Novembre 2016

Had one of the tines here. Their staff is amazing. They did have to mo e us to a different room cause the fire alarm had a low battery was going off. However they moved us to a room right away. They were great. Also their free breakfast is always great. This is a much try if your going to fairbanks and want a nice place to relax.

"The Best Choice"
968tatyanan, 12 Novembre 2016

I was very happy with this Best Western Hotel. The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly. I felt like I was in a different hotel. This is the first time I have seen a very nice BW hotel. Great JOB!!!!

"Comfy beds"
DonnaG3353, 03 Novembre 2016

We arrived at 3 am so extremely tired from long day of travel. The beds were so comfortable and pillows were just right. What a great place to stay after a long day. It's very close to the airport and easy to find.

"Good place when working in Fairbanks."
Mike F, 01 Novembre 2016

Friendly and helpful people. Clean room. Away from other business but close to everything. Felt safe leaving my service truck in parking lot. Nice paths to walk around area. The pool area was always clean and not over loaded with chemicals

"Great service"
Wendy W, 29 Octobre 2016

We arrived at 6:00 am after an overnight drive from Coldfoot, we were cold and very very tired, our reservation was for that night but by by 7:00 am we were in our room and ready for bed. Not many hotels would offer such service, particular thanks to David who on only his 2nd day of employment went out of his way to help us. This was our third stay in this hotel and each time the service and friendliness of the staff was faultless. Rooms always clean and well appointed.

"0 star if that is an option"
Peter H, 28 Octobre 2016

Checking in at 11pm, front desk is clueless, sent us to a room already assigned. People in the room were shocked when we opened the door -- they were already sleeping. Went back to get another room. Took about half an hour to finally get checked in. After the trip I saw on my credit card that the stay was double-charged -- it was a prepaid stay, yet our credit card was charged again. After 6 weeks of back and forth, still trying to get my money back. This is the last straw for me, I don't say bad things online, but 0 star for you, Best Western. You deserve it.

"Disappointed with the Hotel"
Craig M, 25 Octobre 2016

While the front desk staff was very nice, the problem I reported with the lack of heat in my room was not addressed during my stay. It my room it sounded like the hotel has steel construction as I could hear people up and down the hallway on the floor above. Also when one of the rooms above used their shower, I was treated to the sounds of water in drain pipes. With other options in the Fairbanks area, I'm not sure I'd stay here again.

"Great Staff"
greggsgirl, 14 Octobre 2016

Wonderful place to stay! Great staff - especially Jasmine and Nick - who were very helpful to us as we were trying to see the Northern Lights. The breakfasts were much better than those we've had at other motel chains. Highly recommended.

"Great Place to stay in Fairbanks"
Toonert, 12 Octobre 2016

This is a very comfortable place to stay when visiting Fairbanks. It's more on the fringe of the city, but with easy access to various points of interest. The rooms are comfortable and the staff very friendly.

"Great amenities"
MarylandCatmom, 08 Octobre 2016

Our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast is served 6-9 AM and includes a make-your-waffle area, boiled eggs, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit and some hot foods such as bacon, scrambled eggs and creamed chipped beef. Free transportation is provided to any point of transportation: railroad, airport, rental car pick up - either in the hotel shuttle or in a cab which the hotel pays by voucher. (We did tip our driver although she did tell us that the cab drivers are paid very well for providing the service.) I'd highly recommend this as a place to stay in Fairbanks. The common areas were comfortable and pleasant; the breakfast is a money-saver, the shuttle/cab accommodations are also a good bargain. The hotel is not far from the airport, although far enough away that airplane noise does not intrude.

"Changed room"
Shawn T, 06 Octobre 2016

It was all good, until we started to get ready for bed. Wife pulled the covers back and there was several pieces of hair. The front guy was very kind and moved us room.We have stayed here each time we came to Fairbanks. We will be back again, until the next time something like this happens.

"Lovely hotel, spacious rooms and excellent value"
lorrainet480, 03 Octobre 2016

Conveniently located not far from the airport and across the main intersection from a large grocery store and gas station. Rooms are spacious and well-decorated. Efficient, attentive and friendly staff. Good parking on site.

"last minute choice great results"
daybooth, 01 Octobre 2016

was booked to stay on the military base however they canceled our reservation. so we were able to get a room here for 2 nights. great relief. had a awesome room, good breakfast the first day. the second day the person that was less at tentative with the breakfast item just let them run out. however rooms were clean and good size.

"Great Choice"
Merle G, 26 Septembre 2016

Used Expedia well in advance to get good rate on one-queen room with microwave, fridge, and wifi. In back with view of trees. Enjoyed comfy soft bed, great breakfast with responsive staff, and free shuttle to and from the airport. Reasonable walk to supermarket across highway and eating places down the road made it possible to manage dietary limitations. So glad we chose it for our non-tour days in Fairbanks.

"Very comfortable and convenient"
Whereontheglobe, 26 Septembre 2016

Stayed two nights whilst touring Alaska. Hotel was relatively easy to find on the edge of town. We drove into Fairbanks each day and parking there was very easy in the Visitor Centre's huge car park. Breakfast was a bit `pre-packaged' with plastic cutlery, but acceptable. Bed was large and comfortable. There was no view of the river, but it was possible to walk up the road to get river access.

"Fantastic"
Wayne W, 23 Septembre 2016

Do yourself a favor and when in Fairbanks stay at this best western. From the moment we checked in to the day we checked out we were greeted with a warm friendly smile. The staff cleaned our room spotless and fresh towels every day. I know this is expected when you stay at a motel like best western, but it was done top notch. My only regret is I failed to Get the young women's name who checked us in on the 9/15 and checked us out on the 22nd. She had clocked out and was getting ready to go home but still took the time to check us in. That's a great employee.

"Fantastic "
Wayne W, 20 Septembre 2016

If you are coming to fairbanks you must stay here. We were always greeted from the front desk staff weather we were coming or going. Very clean room and restocked with clean towels everyday. The breakfast were very good and the coffee hot and delicious. Close to airport.

"Very comfortable rooms, but get to breakfast early"
hookedonBristolBay, 18 Septembre 2016

This is a convenient, easy to find location just a few minutes drive from downtown, the University of Alaska Fairbanks and numerous shops and cafes. Very nice entrance and professional front desk staff greet travelers. The rooms are very comfortable, nicely decorated, well lit and the height of the table is good for sitting to work on a laptop. Beds are very comfortable. Double insulation in windows was noted as a plus, should we stay here in mid-winter. That was impressive. The internet connection was sporadic, but worked well enough for the limited time needed. Highly recommend that guests who want a good breakfast, served rom 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., get there early. The assortment of food, fruit juices and coffee was plentiful, but the hot dishes---the roasted potatoes and oatmeal in particular, were not appealing. The roasted potatoes, lying in separate container between bacon and scrambled eggs, were barely warm and clumped together, and what was left of the oatmeal was scary. Certainly can appreciate the hotel not wanting to throw out good food not eaten after 10 a.m. but fresh potatoes and oatmeal would have been nice. Dining area itself is very nice, right off of the lobby. Being long time Alaskans, we know value when we see it, and this hotel is a good deal overall.

"SECOND VISIT AFTER A TWO YEAR BREAK"
dennis w, 15 Septembre 2016

Fairly new typical Best Western, Standard room comfortable and clean. Not much has changed since our first visit. Breakfast choices limited but adequate. For the money it is a pretty good choice. It does not have the character of say Pike's Landing but for the money it is a good deal. If you are there during aurora time ask the front desk to put you on the watch list, they will call your if it is a good night. Free pickup from airport and to train station.

"Good location to airport"
livermorontraveler, 13 Septembre 2016

Our initial check-in experience was most unpleasant. The young lady at the front desk said she couldn't honor the price of the reservation I made back in March because this hotel "isn't really part of Best Western. Mormons own this one and Indians own the other one." The next day we got it all squared away with the delightful manager on duty. We had no soap in the shower for the two nights we were there. I called down to get bar soap. The maid also didn't clean the bathroom the first day; she just put up new towels (dirty toilet, mirror, sink). On the plus side, the breakfast and the breakfast room lady was delightful and the breakfast itself had a lot of variety. This is definitely not our best BW experience.

"Value Hotel"
Kashif A, 09 Septembre 2016

The hotel offers great value. It is located near the main attractions. It is also stone throw from the airport and train stations. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is pretty basic but is ok considering I got this part of the room deal.

"I'd return again"
GirlTraveler70, 08 Septembre 2016

The check in process was easy. The room was very clean. It smelled a bit like a bleach cleaner had been used but it wasn't bothersome. Breakfast was included, but we didn't eat on property. The staff was friendly. Bed was very comfortable. Shower pressure was a bit lacking.

"Would definitely recommend"
Marvin S, 06 Septembre 2016

Just an all around good experience. Booking was easy.Airport pickup by a super friendly cabbie was also comped.Check in was effortless, and everyone we encountered was helpful and professional. The dinner recommendation was perfect. The room was nice and clean too. They also paid for our cab ride to the rail depot the next day! What a way to begin our Alaska vacation! Solid good choice- Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge!!!

"started bad"
Karla T, 31 Août 2016

When we arrived we were first given a room that was already occupied then given a room that had not been cleaned. On the third try we were given a room that was clean and unoccupied. The person checking us in was very apologetic and gave us a huge discount on our 5 night stay so it made the hassle worth it. Otherwise our stay was good. Room was large and comfortable. Continental breakfast offered a good choice. Shuttle or taxi was available free of charge to airport, train depot, and nearby attractions.

"Alaska trip"
pearl56, 31 Août 2016

not fancy but very clean, service great and breakfast was great!! It is out of the way of shopping or dining unless you hire a taxi, which we got lucky with the girl who picked us up at the airport, she took us to North Pole to visit Santa's house.

"Good Motel"
Joseph W, 28 Août 2016

My wife and I recently stayed at this motel for 2 nights. It offers basic motel rooms which are clean and well-kept. This site is convenient to the airport. There is a imited amount of shopping within walking distance. The rooms are not fancy and this is not a resort. If you are seeking basic, standard accommodations at a motel with a pleasant, helpful staff then you will enjoy this motel.

"Fantastic"
Tera B, 26 Août 2016

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 children. It was quiet, clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. The rooms was standard size. The breakfast selections we fantastic. It was just across the street from a Fred Meyer which is a one stop shop for everything, and a Walgreens. We would definitely stay here again.

"Business travel"
John J, 22 Août 2016

I travel through Fairbanks for business a couple times per year. Almost always stay at the BW Chena River Lodge. Hotel is always clean and the staff is nice. Breakfast is ok (and free). The Internet works well.

"Pleasant stop to the Artic."
Cherie M, 21 Août 2016

Very pleasant hotel. Clean and quiet. Staff are very helpful. Beds are just so comfortable. Restaurants within easy walk. Taxi cost $11 from airport because couldn't order shuttle at hotel but reception quickly reimbursed. Could have spent longer here. Supermarkets across the road.

"Best Western Chena River"
savagetb, 19 Août 2016

Breakfast included hot oatmeal, scrambled eggs, home fries, and bacon, along with juice and pastry. Excellent rates. Front desk very helpful, especially Jazmine. Breakfast lady heated milk for a guest, a special touch. Planes overhead, but not many and not a bother. We will stay here again. Family in the area.

"Could be a nice hotel"
Steve D, 17 Août 2016

Put in a room with a poor air conditioner but then moved. Mattress was terrible. Black mold in the shower. Hair dryer plugged with hair and lint. Coffee maker not cleaned properly. If these things had not happened this could have been a very good hotel stay.

"Good Choice"
RetiredTravelerTN, 13 Août 2016

Best Western Plus Chena River was a good choice for our pre-tour days in Fairbanks. Like any good lodging in Alaska's peak season, the rate is high, but the accommodations were clean, attractive and comfortable. The overall appearance is very nice – what we have come to expect of Best Western Plus hotels. The two-story lobby is clean and attractive with a breakfast area to one side. The front desk staff were all friendly and accommodating. A guest-use computer and printer are available in a small room just off the lobby. Our king room provided a very comfortable bed for two nights as well as enough space for our luggage. Two night tables, a small eating table with two chairs, a flat-panel TV, a cabinet with microwave and small refrigerator, and a full-length mirror provided the amenities that we needed. We appreciated the split bath in our king room – easy for two people to prepare for the day. Friendly staff kept the breakfast area well-stocked each morning with a variety of hot items, cold and hot cereal, breads and pastries, waffle batter for the waffle irons, yogurt, milk, coffee, and juice. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast each morning for a good start to the day. Best Western Plus Chena River has complimentary airport transportation. The hotel actually uses a combination of hotel shuttle and two local taxi companies. The only negative to our stay was the location of our room -- #215. A mezzanine sitting area just outside our door was open to the lobby below; it was a popular area for guests to meet and talk in the evening. Fortunately, they cleared out around 10:30 (but that was 1:30 AM for us after flying in from the central time zone). On our second evening, we were twice awakened by loud talking that appeared to be coming from the lobby. Light sleepers should avoid this room. Overall, we liked our stay at the Best Western Plus Chena River. It's close to the airport but is not a far drive from downtown. Fairbanks is not a big city; it is easily navigated in a rental car using a local map.

"Great Lodging"
Luv2hikejulie, 11 Août 2016

We stayed here three nights, while I'm not happy about the price, I also understand that I stayed at the height of tourist season. We checked in at 0200 and the night clerk was great and efficient. The breakfast lady was fabulous and enjoyed chatting and helping the guests. Rooms were clean, beds were awesome, and location is great.

"weekend stay on the front end of our trip to Denali and Bristol Bay"
BenSAllentown_PA, 11 Août 2016

stayed for a Saturday and Sunday night. breakfasts were good (standard best western fare). convenient to the airport. I had hoped to fish the Chena river for grayling - but the river was blown out with water to the top edge....we had a rental car and drove around town a fair bit - creamers dairy for the birds, cookie jar restaurant (DDD) [******]...Pike's Landing and Brewster's for Dinner. the hotel doesn't have an airport shuttle....they have an agreement with Eagle Taxi (I think that is the taxi service name).....a bit odd - but it works..... the room was fine...we didn't stay in the room much the hotel seems to be right on the approach landing for the airport - but we didn't hear any planes and we slept on the top floor.

"Poor experience"
Judy O, 08 Août 2016

This used to be our favorite place to stay. It has really gone downhill! The room was hot and smelly and the night front desk person was missing in action. I'll be checking out other hotels in the future.

"Mix of great and not-so-great"
Pamsmith1400, 07 Août 2016

The facility/lobby look very nice. They have a very nice "free" hot breakfast. Three of our five rooms for our party smelled vaguely of locker room. Our bed was not optimum.... a bit lumpy and dipped where we lay. The room darkening shades were very effective.... useful in the Land of the MIdnight Sun! Our room temp. was nice.... we could open the window, too. The location is good... easy to get to most attractions.

"I want this bed in my house"
Willard F, 05 Août 2016

My wife and I have never slept so well. They have the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in, even better than our own. Price for the room is a little high, but what isn't in Alaska. We've stayed here 3 times and have always received excellent service from a very friendly staff. They were very gracious to my wife and her sister while they were here helping their dying mother back in Feb. l want to say thank you for all your help for my wife who doesn't usually travel without me and a hates it, she said you made her feel right at home. Her mother is resting peacefully now.

"Checked out early-overpiced!"
Robmicgrn, 04 Août 2016

Checked in late, room was 79 degrees. Left the AC on all night, and got the room down to 77' by morning. For what they are charging (way over priced) AC should have been spitting out ice cubes. No pool on this property (bummer) and breakfast was very simple. I checked out two days early. Not enough value to keep me there. I got the feeling they are squeezing every nickel they can out of the place. Soaps, lotions and shampoos come from bottles mounted on the wall like a gas station restroom.Towel bar fell to floor after removing a towel.

"Front Desk Staff Clueless"
799normanh, 01 Août 2016

Front Desk staff are all teenagers that are clueless and uncaring. No hotel vehicles that provide transfers to and from the airport. The use taxis. No bellman's closet to secure luggage before or after check out. The front desk staff do not know anything about the Fairbanks bus services or the closest bus stop. The Front Desk Staff have an I don't care attitude.

"Average at best"
irvingbb, 31 Juillet 2016

The only sink in the room wasn't in the bathroom. Very inconvenient since there were four of us. Noisy room. Our room was on first floor closest to lobby and very close to ice maker. Free breakfast was very good. Pool was nice, but had several obnoxious loud kids at 930pm, which rendered unusable. No spa. Hot chocolate available 24 hrs. Beds and showers okay. Room clean

"Great location & friendly staff"
John G, 27 Juillet 2016

Very clean & friendly location. Great hot breakfast to start the day. Located right across street from local bus service - free to those over 60! Provided easy access to all locations. Staff were very, very helpful in assisting with any questions. Really got our Alaskan vacation off to a great start!

"A great place to stay"
Mary C, 27 Juillet 2016

A wonderful place to stay. Clean and it had very good service and high quality facilities. The breakfasts were outstanding and the young man who did the breakfast did a terrific job. We stayed in 10 hotels on our trip and this was our favorite.

"Disappointed for the first time"
Jordance2, 21 Juillet 2016

I stay here every year while visiting family, and usually am quite satisfied. This year was disappointing. Our room smelled like wet dog and the carpet had a gooey substance on it, such that I could not go barefoot. I complained the first morning and the front desk said that they would alert housekeeping; however, the residue remained. The second day we didn't get housekeeping service at all. The third day our room was cleaned, but the carpet was still sticky and smelly. Additionally, the shower grout needed a good scrubbing the entire time. I hope this was just an off week because the hotel is very conveniently located to services. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I'll try again next year, believing in second chances.

"A nice hotel"
Aussietraveller1952, 17 Juillet 2016

My wife and I recently stayed here overnight during our recent Alaskan adventure. We had not been to Fairbanks previously so had no idea of the city layout. This hotel is on what you would say is the outskirts of the city but there again Fairbanks is not a big city and nothing is very far away. It's on a main road but set far enough back that traffic noise did not appear to be a problem. The property is either relatively new or has been very well maintained. We've stayed in many Best Western properties and have always found them very nice. This was no exception, we had a lovely room overlooking the front of the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and nice big towels in the bathroom. Breakfast was included in the tariff and consisted of the usual fare of cereals, breads, fruit, juices, and several hot selections. Staff were extremely welcoming and were happy to answer our inquiries on sight seeing in the immediate area. Plenty of free parking out front. High recommended - we would certainly stay here again should we ever return to Fairbanks.

"Just what we needed"
adstz, 12 Juillet 2016

Arrived at 2 a.m. local time. Room was clean and waiting. We had asked for 2 beds and got them. Had a room overlooking the parking lot but had no problems with noise. Didn't use their taxi/shuttle service. I didn't see the breakfast but my husband brought me coffee, yogurt and a sweet roll from there. Fairbanks in the summer is expensive overall but at least, for the money, we had a nice room to get a few hours sleep. Overall was very pleased with the accommodations.

"Centrally located and clean"
Kathy L, 07 Juillet 2016

We stayed here 3 days in late June. The hotel is clean, staff is helpful and the breakfast has enough choices to start your day. From the hotel, it's a 2 hour drive to Denali with a rental car. It's easier if you skip breakfast at the hotel and instead stop at one of the restaurants on the way to Denali. It's a nice break after driving an hour or so. There is a shuttle bus service to Denali if you don't have a car. Our other trip was to Chena Hot Springs Resort. This is a must for any adult. The resort has a warm swimming pool for kids too. Again, there is a shuttle bus service to Chena Hot Springs from the hotel. We loved Fairbanks and you need a few days to see it all.

"Wait to book if you can.."
delyn35, 07 Juillet 2016

Nice hotel, great location good people and clean rooms. No problems with hotel at all. Due to high price when you book in advance, if you can wait and watch until on line price drops, you will save lots of money.

"Spacious, quiet rooms."
Alice R, 06 Juillet 2016

Hotel utilised taxi services as shuttle buses for airport and train station pick-ups and drop offs. The only problem was our taxi was taken by someone else and we had to wait longer. The hotel staff were very apologetic and friendly, ensuring our stay was welcoming. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable with normal amenities and wi-fi. Our room was situated on the third floor at the back of the hotel - busy road out the front, making it very quiet. Breakfast included - good variety to choose from. Not centrally located but bus routes nearby.

"Best hotel in fairbanks "

"Should have minded the reviews..."
MikkosMom, 25 Juin 2016

Figured with the high ratings, location and shuttle service that this hotel would be perfect. Well, the room smelled atrocious and the shuttle service was a taxi. When we asked the young gentleman who was on duty at the front desk about the smell in the room, he came to the room (to smell it for himself) and said that it was normal... that it was due to the chemicals that they use when cleaning the rooms. When I commented that those must be some strong chemicals, his reply was that they have some disgusting guests or guests that do disgusting things... something along those lines. Immediately made me feel like I was in a "no tell motel" and we debated just checking out at that point, but since we were only there for a few hours (early morning flight), we stuck it out. As for the shuttle, since it is a taxi we had to wait at the train station to be picked up and other train riders grabbed the taxis, since they are taxis, not a hotel-specific shuttle. The hotel should have given them our names to ensure that we got our ride. And, while we saw some newer/clean looking yellow cabs, the two cabs we ended up with were private vehicles with taxi decals and the vehicles were filthy. Torn seats, stains, garbage, cigarette smoke. Absolutely disgusting. The hotel should really re-think their transportation partner. Will never stay at this hotel again and would never recommend it. Two stars since the room was updated and clean (must have been those super strong chemicals!).

"Great location and friendly staff"
sctraveler73, 23 Juin 2016

We had three rooms at this hotel on June 5th. The hotel uses a private taxi service for their airport shuttle so it took a while to get two taxi vans to haul the six of us and all our luggage to the hotel. The hotel is very nice-spacious lobby and clean, comfortable rooms. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were extremely helpful. The breakfast was very good and included a full hot breakfast. We were in walking distance to places to eat.

"Great place to stay in Fairbanks"
ronaldstewart, 22 Juin 2016

The room was great. Clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Gave great advice and directions for food and local sites. Activities onsite and restaurants in walking distance. Would recommend.

"Our stay at Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge"
Bill H, 21 Juin 2016

We arrived about 1:30 AM from the airport. The person at the desk greeted us and checked us in ASAP. The hotel is very clean as was our room. The breakfast was fine and the person in charge of breakfast did a great job. We chose this hotel because it was close to airport and train station. A short walk down the road there is a store called Fred Myers , like Wal Mart and Home Depot combined. So if you forgot something or need something that's place to go.

"Average hotel"
mollysmomNC, 20 Juin 2016

Location was good, breakfast was great along with the employee who handles the breakfast. He was very pleasant, kept the area clean and well stocked. I made the reservations several months before our visit for two rooms close together. Got one on first floor that someone had obviously been smoking in and the other on the second floor. I don't call that close together and they said they couldn't move either one of us. Room was hot when we entered and after turning thermostat below 70, never cooled down below 75. Furnishings were sparse. Usually any room with a king sized bed in it always has at least an easy chair or love seat. Not this room. It had the bed, table with two straight chairs, chest with tv on it and way across the room a console containing a microwave and refrigerator.

"3 quiet days in Fiarbanks"
Nancy K, 19 Juin 2016

We moved here after our cruise. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The employee that runs the breakfast is wonderful. Keeps it well stocked. The front desk was helpful. It is easy to get around from this location. Not far from the University of Alaska.

"Very nice hotel "
Anita H, 18 Juin 2016

The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. Parking was available in front. The location was convenient to the roadways, grocery and airport. We stayed for 2 nights to see local sights and travel the dalton highway.

"Good But Not Great"
Randy N, 10 Juin 2016

The location is perfect. Close to a grocery store, gas station and fast food restaurants. Only 10-minutes from the airport. Person at front desk when I arrived was friendly and quite pleasant. Other clerks were not quite as friendly but were helpful. Not a big deal. First thing I noticed was the "locker room" smell in the room. I am assuming that it was the air conditioner but not sure. I was OK with that since it is an older hotel. I did not report it to staff but probably should have. My only other complaint was that I did not get room cleaning service if I left anytime past 9:00 am. A couple of times I left after 10:00 but there were no notes or memos telling me that that was their policy that if I left by a certain time, they would not clean. I did not report it to staff either. I am sure that if I had reported it, they would have cleaned it with no question. They just need to leave a note in my opinion. Overall though, it is a pretty good motel for Fairbanks and I would definitely stay there again. Rooms are remodeled and clean upon arrival, beds are not too bad and there is an air conditioner, which is a rare treat while staying in Alaska! The only reason I give it an "average" is because of the smell and room cleaning issue. Otherwise, it would be an "above average" motel.

Phil Z, 08 Juin 2016

Overall, an exceptional location in Fairbanks - both near the airport and an easy commute to Ft. Wainwright. Exceptional Front Desk Staff - awesome breakfast nook and STAFF as well. Coffee ever present and HOT - Loved that and very needed. Good location near to location for Alaska Salmon Bake (get there! and they offered military discount on the ALL YOU CAN EAT DINNER!). All in all - great time for my first trip to the Alaska Tundra.

"Overnight Stay at Fairbanks"
catherineaS6696QM, 08 Juin 2016

Room was clean and the area quiet. Friendly Staff in the breakfast area. Although the first room given to me was a handicap room which I turned down due to the location next to the exit. A room in the second floor was given to me instead, but charged me $60. dollar more than quoted when inquired, didn't noticed until it was too late.

"Uncalled for poor customer service"
coreyfranz9, 01 Juin 2016

Do Not book with this hotel. We were left waiting at the airport for 45 minutes for a shuttle service and was told Eagle cab or Yellow taxi service was the only ones we could use. They said they would be there for us very quickly. Neither showed up after many many calls and there was over 9 of us waiting total. 3 other women had been told the same thing! There was other taxi cabs at the airport waiting in line but we were not allowed to get in because the hotel would not honor the free shuttle if we had used another service. After the long wait with my elderly grandparents and children crying we were picked up and taken to the hotel that was only literally 3 minutes away! Totally undependable, uncalled for and highly disappointed. We talked with other people who heard us complaining at the front desk and they also received the same experience of being stranded at the airport with no shuttle to pick them up. The taxi service associated with this hotel is highly unreliable!! Extremely rude dispatcher.

"It was good enough"
bohemianparrothead, 17 Mai 2016

Stayed here for several days visiting family in the area. It's easy to get to, & find, from the airport - overall, a good location. I had a room, not facing the street, which was quiet and actually fairly clean. The beds are horrible - I changed rooms after getting in to bed, exhausted, to discover a "sink hole" in the mattress in the first room - the second room's mattress was a slight improvement, but... I would probably look around for another option before staying here again.

"Clean rooms...but"
familyblackard, 13 Mai 2016

We've come to this Best Western for years on our trips to Fairbanks, but it's increasingly gotten worse. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly. This last time over half of our pillows were lumpy and the rest of them were uncomfortable. The food was absolutely horrible. The vat of instant oatmeal was cold and lumpy. The eggs, potatoes and bacon were freezing and overcooked, so warming them up in the microwave did nothing to improve them. They only had two cereals. Unfortunately, this hotel will will be one of our last choices in the future.

"Completely satisfied"
Vishvanath D, 12 Avril 2016

very clean. staff is just wonderful and obviously take pride in their work. For example housekeeping keep not only the parking lot and lawn tidy but also keep the area close to the bus stop which is on city property in front of the this property The breakfast person, tho very busy, found time to prepare a delicious chocolate for my wife. Located just about two miles from the airport and less than half a mile from Fred Meyer West shopping area where many other bus lines can be found which will take you to most want to go see.

"Good location, great room"
jana7227, 11 Avril 2016

This is near the airport and within walking distance to some casual restaurants. It's also across the street from Fred Meyers, where all the bus routes stop. It was a great place to start from when exploring the town by bus. We used cabs too - Arctic Taxi was great at suggesting places to go - Bill Wilson was their wonderful driver. Check-in was smooth, the room was big, comfy and clean. The only minor flaw - the shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty. But they offered nice wipes for removing makeup. The breakfast was typical, but it was plentiful and fresh and the staff was very cheerful.

"Chasing the Aurora"
Jimmiesmauibarbie, 08 Avril 2016

Came upon this little gem for a last ditch effort to find the Aurora. SO glad we stayed here. Centrally located to everything we wanted. The front desk clerk, Kasper was so very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us every day. Thank you Best Western!!

"Housekeeping service only available upon specific request"
irvinetraveler2016, 03 Avril 2016

Pros: Good location, across from Fred Meyer, OK breakfast. Cons: Rooms are dust. Can see a layer of dust on the nightstand. Alarm clock not even on correct time. There is no daily housekeeping unless you hang a tag at the door to request what exactly you want done. If you forget to hang the tag, good luck to you. Your room will not be touched. You'll come back to the same room with the same full trash cans, dirty towels, etc... No one mentioned this to us during check-in. So, our room was untouched. Is this a new thing for hotels to save costs? Maybe they should give us cleaning agents so I can clean my own room and bring my own trash out to the main trash dump everyday.

"Work trip to Fairbanks"
J S, 02 Avril 2016

The Best Western is a nice hotel, with generally good service, clean rooms, and friendly staff. Overall, it is pretty quite and a good deal pricewise, especially for the area. This time, they didn't do as well as usual at check-in. I actually waited almost 15 minutes, left to go to a meeting, and came back to check in 3 hours later. The new kid at the desk doesn't know how to juggle the live person in front of him and phone calls, leaving the live person standing there to listen to him have extended phone discussions.

"Good hotel"
Christine Z, 27 Mars 2016

The hotel is centrally located to reach the Airport and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Campus. Downtown is a few more miles to go. The hotel is very nice, the staff at the frontdesk was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean, everything looked as shown on the hotel's homepage. For all those interested to visit Ice Alaska (Feb/March), the location of this hotel is also very good. Breakfast is a typical Best Western continental breakfast. I did not miss anything, found it very good.

"6 nights at the Chena River Lodge"
tweil1006, 21 Mars 2016

Overall not a terrible stay just very poor cleaning services. After receiving no service the first night and complaining about it we where all most better off with no service. My son had a hot chocolate cup he left on the night stand the first day the sticky rings remained till I could not take it anymore and wiped them with a rag myself. Several days we came back to the room being serviced by the bed unmade. Just very poor service. Convenient location, decent breakfast are the upside.

"Reservation Problems"
Wynne722, 19 Mars 2016

The "front desk manager" refused to assist me in a double reservation that was unknown to me (I had only received info on 1 reservation including the account/reservation number). She refused to look at this reservation which I had written proof of and insisted on charging me at a rate of $25 higher than the reservation I had made. She said it was because she had 2 reservations from booking.com and she had to take the one charging the higher rate ($131/night) rather than the one I had proof of ($95/night) so the hotel could collect its maximum fees/payment from booking.com. She refused to contact booking.com even when I approached her a second time with the paperwork for the reservation I had at the $95/night and basically told me it was my problem and that I would have to "work it out with booking.com" myself. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, having to pay an additional $25/night+tax was a real hardship for me.

"Friendly, Helpful, Clean but Very Noisy"
Treker650, 17 Mars 2016

Nicely decorated, clean, with helpful staff. It was not quiet with neighbors fighting through the night and guests above us stomping around until early morning; but then, who can choose their neighbors. If we were to stay again, I would ask for a 2nd floor room. Breakfast was free as was the airport shuttle service. Both were very good in terms of service.

"Very nice rooms"
Napatravel, 14 Mars 2016

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Double windows stopped most roadway noise, only occasional airplane noise from nearby airport. Friendly staff and complementary airport transportation were great. Wifi was very slow however.

"Nice place"
RachaelAKNP , 11 Mars 2016

The location is great. The room is beautiful and the staff are very nice. My only concern is that the rooms are "scented" in some way that I am forced to open the window to air out my room every visit. This past time, I happened to check in while they were mopping the lobby with a lemon pledge-like cleaner and it was pretty powerful. Those who are sensitive to perfumes and scented cleaners should be careful. Otherwise, the place is lovely.

"Clean, Friendly and Fairly Quiet"
FlyAlaskaJulia, 08 Mars 2016

This facility is fairly new to town and is still in clean and tidy shape. The lobby, and room we stayed in was clean, the mattress however was too soft for our preference. Despite being a Sealy Posturepedic mattress it was like sleeping on a marshmallow, perhaps not all the rooms are this style of mattress. If you need a firmer mattress I would suggest requesting a room with one. There was a good selection of breakfast foods and the eating area was clean. This hotel is fairly close to a main highway, Airport Road, but do not let this discourage you from staying here, we stayed in a room that faced Airport Road and our sleep was NOT disrupted by any highway noise. In the early evening there might be some aircraft noise from the landing planes but there are very few late night flights, and they only land over this area at night when the weather conditions deem it necessary. We stayed three nights for a good price in Fairbanks.

"Comfortable and great location"
Kumukari, 04 Mars 2016

We stayed 2 nights and we very pleased with the great hot breakfast. Fred Mayer and taco bell across the street. Close to the international Ice Carving festival. Very clean and new furniture. A great place to get around to see the pipeline and chena hot springs. Plenty of parking and great hospitality and local information.

"Where do these reviews come from ?!"
Bonnie K, 03 Mars 2016

I walked into a clean room at first but hair was found behind the toilet, towels had small marks that looked stained but clean. When I went to tell someone, THE STAFF WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! Housekeepers had regular clothes on. The only person that was any good was Tyler but even she gave me the cold shoulder. I Picked this place based on reviews and price, this was the first time I was SHOCKED at the difference. This place was a mess, management needs to do something. I feel horrible given that the rooms were pretty and breakfast was good, however everything from cleanliness to customer service was awful.

"Very first Best Western Experience."
Frank P, 02 Mars 2016

I loved it. I would recommend this Hotel to everyone no matter what your purpose of stay is, the Chena River Lodge Best Western in Fairbanks is Vary comfortable. At breakfast a lot of the other guests were smiling and talking, that was something new to me. It kind of had a homely Feeling to it, like instead of just two roommates you have two hundred.

"Great place in Fairbanks"
Kayteegirl84, 02 Mars 2016

I have stayed here twice - first in 2011, and most recently last week. Both times, I really enjoyed this hotel. It's super convenient and close to the airport. It's always been clean and comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was really good :)

"staffs friendly"
Yoyo0911, 27 Février 2016

My friend and I stayed in there 3 nights. We arrived there around 3 am morning because of flight, when we checked-In room, it was smelled very bad with smoking, I told staff about that and staff was very friendly, soon she checked another rooms for us. Then we moved to another room.

"Clean tidy but no customer service "
Vicki H, 21 Février 2016

I'd booked BW based on the photos and the price. I'd emailed them about 4-5 times and received a response, once. As it got closer to the date I asked about their 'shuttle' and advised them of my early arrival, 1am. No response again, I think I tried 3 times. Their shuttle isn't a shuttle it's a taxi, which I wasn't aware of as no body got back to me. I had to email due to time differences. I rang from the airport and they told me to get a taxi from one of the 2 companies they use (forgotten names) The taxi's that they use are ... Disgusting. Ripped seats/missing foam, rubbish through out to the point of nearly refusing to get in..there were some nice ones but not that the BW use as their shuttle. We eventually grabbed one from the rank as we weren't sure what the go was. The customer service was lack of, rarely at front desk and if they are the are on their mobiles. Booking taxi's through them, you never got what you asked for, bigger etc.. If you're looking for a place to go that's clean, and is comfy but don't care about customer service or want anything from them, then this will suit your needs. The breakfast was good but no other food onsite. There's a pharmacy across the road a small drive through / walk up coffee shop next door and a large shop across the road similar to Walmart. Onsite laundry and small gym.. Close to airport, 10 mins. Rooms I'd give a 4 stars, customer service 1.5...

"Good Location Good Staff"
Paulina Z, 21 Février 2016

A very convenient hotel close to airport and car rental office. Free pick up from Airport, staff are friendly and always ready to help. Comfortable room. Not pets are allowed in hotel, if you have pets to bring, charges will be much more expensive than you room rate.

"A Very Comfortable Clean Fairbanks Hotel"
ArizonaJGF, 21 Février 2016

This is one of the newest hotels in Fairbanks and a great choice for the traveler. The hotel common areas and rooms are attractive and it is right across the street from a Fred Meyer's store with a bus stop that will take you anywhere you need to go in Fairbanks and beyond. There are also several restaurants within walking distance and a great coffee kiosk right next door. The service is friendly and they give you a free hot breakfast, yogurt, bagels, sweet rolls and fruit. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

"A good base for your visit to Fairbanks"
8Bill, 16 Février 2016

Conveniently located close to the airport, the university, and the various highways you'll use to head out of town. Friendly and helpful staff. A good breakfast, including eggs and bacon or sausage. The breakfast area sometimes can get a little crowded when you all arrive at the same time. Fairbank's best market, Fred Myers, and a drug store a short walk away. A small refrigerator and a microwave and coffee maker in the room. We heard the planes at the airport but well muffled. Sometimes heard other residents but hey, it's a hotel. Rooms nicely furnished and kept very clean. In winter when the hotel is full plug ins for your vehicle may be in short supply.

"Local Resistant Stay"
Amber P, 15 Février 2016

Nice hotel for a town trip, we have stayed here 4 nights in the last few months- nice breakfast, clean and quiet rooms. , always dependable, close to shopping, we'll be back for this great value in Fairbanks for our over night trips to town

"nice staff, services and good location"

"Reasonable price, clean and comfort stay"

I would highly recommend this hotel for couple travelers. With so many benefits, this hotel will comfort you for nice traveling: Location: Close to downtown, university, hyper markets, ski resort, aurora view point Price: absolutely Affordable!!! Cleaness: Neat and simple! Service: The front desk advises useful information from a local point if view Food: Okay

"Comfortable base for business travel"
SarahANC, 01 Février 2016

My room was comfortable and warm. Very spacious and the bed was great. The internet is a bit slow and I wasn't a huge fan of the shower (not a tub combo and the shower head left a little to be desired). But the coffee was great, the water was hot, the room was clean, staff were friendly, and the breakfast was really good (cheese omelets, potatoes, bacon, waffles, yogurt, fruit, etc).

"Family visit to Alaska"
Melissa C, 31 Janvier 2016

We stayed at the Chena River Lodge for over a week, and everyday was a good experience! The lodge smells very clean, and is very welcoming from the moment you walk in! The staff is friendly and very personable!!! They were always greeting you with a smile and quick to get us whatever we would need or want. The continental breakfast was good! They had a good variety of different breakfast items every day, and the woman who managed the breakfast was very sweet!!!!! The rooms are nice and clean! Overall we had a wonderful stay!!!!! Thank You all!

"Excellent Choice for an Adventure Home Base"
Athena578, 27 Janvier 2016

This was a great hotel! The room was quiet and comfortable (I slept like a rock). The personnel were friendly, laid-back and helpful. The price was spot on, as well. The location being near the airport and still close to downtown and the Domes really made this place great as “home base” for all my day trips. Highly recommend!

"Great food, horrible internet access"
Eric H, 26 Janvier 2016

My room was fine - other than a couple lights which were burnt out - but where it was located must have been a pretty great distance from the nearest wifi router as I struggled to stay connected throughout my stay, even in the very early hours of the morning (I was still on Eastern Standard...). The breakfast was very nice and had plenty of food stocked when I arrived early but there was one attendant at the breakfast area who was more obnoxious than anything else. I promised her I would tell her if I needed help after being prompted several times. It was one of the cheaper places to stay, so in that regard I'm pleased with it, but the lack of internet access made for a more difficult business trip than anticipated.

"Excellent Visit"
thedasue, 21 Janvier 2016

Third floor, non-smoking, accessible room near elevator. Very nicely furnished. Friendly, helpful staff at front desk and in providing free breakfast as well as information. I was also impressed with their dedication to cleaning up outside of the building.

"Ask to sleep on a bed that hasn't been complained about"
Anita_Kitchen, 11 Janvier 2016

We really loved the service here. Everyone was very accommodating. I asked for a tub and got it. But the bed was atrocious. We asked to be moved, the next bed was mildly better. Seriously there are imprints of where people sleep in these beds. We used white noise machines to sleep through our rowdy next door neighbors. Breakfast was good. heat was good. Wifi not good. I'm giving 4 stars instead of three because the service was so awesome.

"Stayed 4 nights, nice hotel"
lfchern, 01 Janvier 2016

Stayed 4 nights (12/25 - 12/28) for family winter vacation. Hotel provided good hot breakfast, shuttle services. Staffs are very helpful for our requests, such as arranged free shuttle service to our tour meeting place. Room was clean and cozy. Location was convenient for both shopping and eating. We will recommend this hotel to our friends.

"Fine place!"
Amy F, 16 Décembre 2015

Near UAF and Shopping! Was great for home base while we visited family and took care of business. Front staff was helpful and nice. Breakfast was fine - lots to choose from. Nice area down hall to sit and ready or study.

"Nice, clean Hotel in Alaska"
Kimberly R, 08 Décembre 2015

As a rural Alaska resident this is my go to Hotel when I travel to Fairbanks. Good location. Helpful staff. Very Clean. Good breakfast included. Very comfortable beds. The sink is separate from the shower & toilet which makes it more efficient for us.

"Overnight in Fairbanks"
J S, 01 Décembre 2015

Stayed only one night, but it was very pleasant. Staff are all very polite and corteous, the facility is clean and well maintained. Made use of the fitness center and the hot breakfast. Would stay there again.

"Awesome staff!"
Pmjolly, 24 Novembre 2015

Bella and Tyler were super informative! They helped us so much without hesitation! And so sweet. I lost count of questions and info I inquired about. Very patient! So willing to share their state with two Mississippi girls! Thank you and if we return it will be because of your service!

"Best Western is good for the price"
Josh R, 23 Novembre 2015

Everything is what I expected. People were friendly. The room was fine. The hotel was close to the airport and easy to find. The breakfast was mediocre. The heat was turned low when I got there so I had to wait for the room to warm up. Overall, it was a fine stay.

"We will Always stay at Best Western :)"
Elli F, 18 Novembre 2015

best Western Hotels' are very comfortable/ employees are very professional, kind and caring I would recommended this hotel to everyone who wants to take a trip and still feels like a home :) the rooms are very clean, room decorations are exceptional ,great place for the family, couples , business trip , excellent breakfast, beautiful lobby :)

"Excellent"
Jerry S, 15 Novembre 2015

We would recommend this Best Western to anyone. They are friendly, helpful and the breakfast is really good. The staff go out of their way to help you and make your stay enjoyable. Whether your talk with the front desk, cleaning staff or staff attending the breakfast bar; they are all very helpful and nice.

"Wonderful Stay"
Carl S, 12 Novembre 2015

We have stayed in many highly rated hotels around the world. This hotel may not have all the amenities of a posh hotel in Paris but it has everything you need for a great experience. The staff could not have been more accommodating!! The rooms and facilities were modern and clean. The hotel has a complimentary breakfast that was surprisingly very good, a small workout room (with a cable unit, exercise bikes and a treadmill), a computer room with printer and a guest laundry. Wi-fi is throughout the hotel and in your room. It is conveniently located to stores and restaurants. There is a bit of noise from planes flying overhead due to it's proximity to the airport but even that was pretty minimal. This hotel does not have a pool. Take a walk behind the hotel and you will be at a scenic spot of the Chena River. If you want a much better than basic hotel at a very reasonable price this is definitely the place to stay!

"Location- Services - Staff"
Jefsong, 11 Novembre 2015

A nice, modern, clean Best Western in a good location. Rooms were comfortable, black out drapes if you need to sleep, internet access, microwave and refrigerator in room. Breakfast area, Laundry facilities, work out room and walking distance to restaurants- unique shops. Shuttle service to Airport- and a friendly staff! Across the street is a Walgreens- and Market with probably a hot foods section- great place to stay.

"Great stay in Fairbanks"
TOMnRhonda, 10 Novembre 2015

Stayed for 3 weeks. Room was always clean with fresh linens and towels, staff friendly, warm on cold snowy days,. No complaints. Used guest laundry and WiFi with no problems. Breakfast was great with good choices not just pastry and coffee ! Definitely will be back when business calls.

"Great Stay!"
AkTomboy, 09 Novembre 2015

After a horrid stay at the BW across town we tried the Chena River Lodge BW. WOW what a difference! I wish we would have made the switch sooner. Hotel is clean, staff is beyond helpful and polite. Rooms are big and comfy, beds felt great, breakfast was also a big hit with a crew of a hungry hockey family. Heck they even hand fresh cookies in the evening. Large parking lot with plenty of plug ins for those cold nights. This is our new hotel to stay in while in Fairbanks!

"My stay at Best Western PLUS Chena River Lodge, Fairbanks"
Chamelia S, 04 Novembre 2015

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel cause the staffs are very helpful and caring, the room spacious, clean and the breakfast is good. Very value for my money. They even provide free shuttle to the airport !! I will definitely stay at this hotel next time i visit Fairbanks.

"You get what you pay for..."
vatadon, 04 Novembre 2015

I'm sure there are worse motels, but I'm also sure there are better motels. I'm a business traveler and stayed at this motel Saturday and Sunday nights because of the Best Western reputation and because it was off the beaten path near the river. Quiet. Wrong, there were partiers outside my window in the car with loud music until 11:00 PM. There were families with kids running up and down the hallway until 11 PM. So much for a quiet. The first night I didn't know the only way to keep the room below 80° was to keep the window open on a 11° night, The thermostat didn't work. Second night was better but it was 72 to 75° all night long. Too hot again. Aside from those things, everything else was exceptional. Great staff, good breakfast, and the fitness room was very good.

"Weeklong stay for business"
7thof9, 02 Novembre 2015

Very close to the airport, which was nice. Room was clean and shower had great pressure for working out the kinks at the end of the day. Was nice to have the fridge, microwave, coffeepot on hand. The self-serve breakfast in the morning was very tasty and it was great you offered both hot and cold items and a variety of each. I would have like to have the coffee be a little stronger, personal taste. I did appreciate being able to get hot water on demand at the breakfast bar any time of day...and that tea/cider/hot chocolate packets were left out too (maybe can do little instant coffee packets too!). No pool or hot tub, but the fitness room equipment seemed pretty new and in good condition (treadmill/elliptical/bike/weight machine). It was also handy having a Fred Meyer store right across the street to pick up snacks and incidentals, although the hotel was great at providing some forgotten toiletries. I also liked that they reduced waste by having re-fillable soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers. However, the didn't like the choice of shampoo/conditioner, as ithey left a strong residue on my hair so was heavy ....seemed almost greasy.

"Great service"
Curtis R, 26 Octobre 2015

What a great stay anytime I'm there. Close to the airport, super friendly breakfast server. Friendly staff as well. The internet can be spotty especially if you have good security on your computer, which may be a good thing. They don't seem to have the most secure internet access.

"Great Place to Stay, Close to UAF"
Wynne722, 21 Octobre 2015

All of the front desk staff were quite helpful and friendly as was the housekeeping. One of the women who seems to be in charge of the morning breakfast buffet during my stay (10/3-9/15) was especially kind and helpful. She always went out of her way to help anyone (including me) work any of the equipment (waffle maker, juice machine, etc.). She went out of her way to stop by each table every morning and chat with people. One morning when I was leaving the hotel after the breakfast bar was closed, I ran in to her and she said she was concerned that I didn't come to breakfast and she offered to get me some oatmeal or cereal. She was so wonderful. I am so sorry that I didn't get her name to personally thank her. The lodge and all amenities were lovely and it made my research at the university every so much more comfortable. I will definitely stay here again.

"A good hotel close to the airport"
elmac40, 19 Octobre 2015

Recently returned from a trip to Alaska where our first and last night were at the BW+ Chena River Lodge. Warmly greeted by Bella at Reception and our room was large, very clean and functional. It was slightly concerning that directly outside of our room there was a large hole in the wall! However it turned out that the previous evening a young guest had been disruptive and had knocked on all other guest doors and had kicked the wall. Thankfully we didn't see any issues when we were there. When we returned later in the week the wall was completely repaired. Fairbanks is not a large town/city so it's easy to get around. The hotel operates a free taxi service to the airport - which is located nearby. There is a free breakfast and this is taken in the lobby - its quite a small area and got a bit congested if your arrived at a busy time. However you could take breakfast back to your room. Free wi-fi is avaialable and this worked fine for us. If returning to Fairbanks wouldn't hesitate in staying the the Chena Rover Lodge again.

"Great stay "
Rick B, 19 Octobre 2015

Very close to the airport, the staff was very polite, it's best to make your reservations ahead of time but overall no problems just walking through the door and getting a room, rooms are very clean fresh linen fresh towels, the room is very clean the bathroom is very clean, a small refrigerator and microwave in my room, across the street is Walgreens and Fred Meyers commonly known as Kroger stores a 5 minute walk across the street to stock my refrigerator, free internet for my business needs a small exercise room but big enough for what I needed, continental breakfast served every morning with enough variety for anybody, very clean very quiet I enjoyed my stay will always return to the same hotel when I am in Fairbanks.

"Needs more attentive staff"
EmilyWisdom, 19 Octobre 2015

The hotel it's self was nice. I like the attempts at being a little greener. Dispensers for the soap etc instead of little bottles, water conserving toilets. I liked the decor, wall mounted lighted make up mirror in the bathroom. But the room its self was not clean. The comforter had what looked like food on it, the heater had a huge slime chunk on it. The mattress pad was sticking out from under the sheet and had a big nasty stain on it. The house keeping staff were SO LOUD in the mornings right out side our door while we were trying to sleep (8 am). Also saw a couple with FILTHY uniforms. Free WiFi never worked for ether of us. A little more effort would go a long way.

"Absolutely wonderful place to stay!!"
psithurism, 18 Octobre 2015

It is rare now a days to find hotels where the staff is genuinely caring but here at the Best Western Plus Chena River Lodge they show that they care. Super friendly staff. Great sized rooms and super comfy beds. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The free breakfast in the morning was the normal Best Western breakfast but it filled our tummys quite nicely. The Laundry area was very nice as well. If I get back to the area this would be the first place i go to!!

"Wonderful Hotel"
Christina C, 15 Octobre 2015

Great service. Great Rooms. Great atmosphere. Only hotel I stay at in Fairbanks, Alaska. Everythings always clean and exceeds my expectations. The breakfast is also great, everything is yummy and fresh. A good variety to choose from.

"Nice stay"
Jonathan_rishon, 10 Octobre 2015

Stayed at the hotel for two nights. Clean and quiet rooms (despite the elevator just next to our door and the airport outside the hotel). The breakfast area is too small for the big number of rooms. Come earlier, get a spot to seat! The stay was OK!

"Great value"
Todd K, 09 Octobre 2015

Close to the airport. Great breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice rooms. Good price. I had a couple of interactions with staff and the treatment I got felt very personal -- like the people who work there were the owners or something.

"Great Hotel"
John S, 08 Octobre 2015

Very nive shuttle driver from the Airport. Hotel is located very close to the airport. Clean inside and outside. Front Desk clerk was nice and polite. Bed very comfortable, clean, everything worked properly. Enjoyed my stay and will be back soon.

"Super Clean and Friendly Staff"
MPatak73, 01 Octobre 2015

This was the absolute nicest and cleanest Best Western we have ever had a chance to stay at. The complimentary breakfast area was tended to and clean. The staff were very friendly and informative about the area. This hotel was within a few miles of the airport. Would definitely stay here again.

"Great Staff and Location"
898carlr, 01 Octobre 2015

The staff at this hotel were most helpful and pleasant. The location is most convenient to get around town. We were able to check in a little early which made a big difference for us. The working staff acknowledged that we were there by just talking to us in the halls and around the building.. Have stayed here before and it keeps getting better.

"Good for Business & Pleasure"
Magen J, 28 Septembre 2015

Whenever I visit Fairbanks, either for business or to visit my family, I always stay at this Best Western. The rooms are fairly clean (I'm very very picky though) and it's convenient to town, Fort Wainwright and UAF. I highly recommend staying here.

"Stay ruined by poor staff"
584unsatisfied12, 28 Septembre 2015

Room was fine as expected however upon check out I accidentally forgot two big Sam's club size bags of frozen shrimp and two gallons of milk. Both unopened, new items that I had bought to take home...others who live in villages off the road system in Alaska will understand. I realized my mistake and called one hour after check out and after waiting on hold for about ten minutes was told by the front desk person that they throw away anything that is left in the rooms or refrigerators. She insisted that the person who had cleaned the room had left for the day and she had personally watched her leave and she had absolutely nothing in her hands. When I asked to speak with a manager, she hung up on me. Very disappointing.

"Good value short stay"
Ellen F, 27 Septembre 2015

This facility is close to the airport. It was an excellent value and provided a convenient place to start a trip back to the lower 48. The facility is ordinary--not exceptional. The breakfast was almost tasteless.
