"Disappointing and Frustrating"
Kimberly L, 27 Février 2024

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Pioneer Park on the last leg of a 3-week Alaska vacation. It was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise great trip. On our first night, I noted a constant sound in the room, like a high-pitched hum. When I asked the front desk about this the next morning, I received a shrug in response. The clerk wasn't aware of the sound, didn't know where it was coming from, and didn't know if it could be stopped. We left for the day and didn't return until about 3 AM after a long excursion to the Arctic Circle, at which time we found the room exactly as we had left it with beds unmade, trash can full, and dirty towels in the bathroom. I went to the front desk to ask about this and was told that they did not have enough staff to clean the rooms. When asked, she did agree to get us some clean towels. We had one more night there. Each time we left and returned to the room, we walked past trash piled in the hallway in front of room doors and heaps of wet dirty towels. When checking out, I asked the clerk for a discount due to the unsanitary and unpleasant conditions, and I was told that he didn't have the authority to provide a discount; only the hotel manager, Mai, was able to do so. He provided me with an email address for Mai. When I emailed Mai, I received no response. A few weeks later, I emailed the corporate offices at Best Western about the situation , and I received a response saying that they would contact 'upper management' at the hotel to investigate, and I should hear back in 3-5 days. A month later, I had still heard nothing. I contacted the corporate offices again to advise them of this, and this time heard nothing back from them. I reached out one last time to the corporate office another month later indicating frustration that no one was responding, and I stated that it appeared that Best Western was okay with the situation at this hotel since no one was replying. That was over a week ago, and I have still had no response. I can sympathize with the hotel having staffing issues - I have been responsible for hiring and staffing care facilities myself. However, the way the situation was handled was just poor business practice. We should have received notice in advance of the staffing situation so we would be aware and have the choice as to whether to book there or not. Common sense says that if you can't provide basic services expected, a discount should have been offered by the hotel - guests shouldn't have to request it. And apologies should have been offered spontaneously, not just in response to customer complaints. The lack of response from the Best Western corporate offices seems indicative that there is a company-wide issue with customer service and accountability.

"Had a great stay, The river bridge was a bonus!"
thankunextbeach, 19 Novembre 2023

We stayed here for just one night as a transit point between Denali and the Richardson Highway and exploring downtown Fairbanks. The room was the best we've stayed on our Alaska trip and the amenities were elevated. There was a free breakfast too and that was great to have. The hotel has a pool as well, but didn;t bother swimming because I was just exhausted. That evening though, I decided to walk around the area, and the river bridge was just across the road and went there and saw a bit of nearby Pioneer Park too! Happy to have woken up at like 2:45 am and turns out it was the sunrise. So that was a nice treat!

"Pioneer Park best Western"
nicolenoelle5, 28 Octobre 2023

The staff was very accommodating. I asked if I could check out 15 minutes later then check out time and they had no problem allowing me to do that. I ended up being almost 30 minutes past check out once I was done getting ready to attend a friend's funeral service and got all my stuff out of the room and to the car, and the staff was very gracious and kind about allowing me to check out 30 mins later.

"A hidden treasure"
101NDTraveler2013, 13 Octobre 2023

This hotel is hidden in the woods close to the Airport road. It is within minutes of loads of good restaurants and less than five minutes fro downtown. Staff was great. Free breakfast was adequate. The staff was absolutely wonderful..

"Nice hotel; needs a better manager."
marshallbrown2023, 27 Septembre 2023

Aside from my other comments on the survey, most importantly the security was very much lacking...the side door to the parking lot has a room key access; however, it was never needed as the door opened without a key.

"5 days of mechanical noise but no TV sound."
mustangjeanne, 23 Septembre 2023

We reserved 5 days to finish our 3 week Alaska adventure. The price was reasonable compared to some of the other options in Fairbanks. It was off the beaten path, quite yet still close to everything. Checking in was easy and quick. Was told that they were short staffed so there would be no housekeeping unless we needed something. My room was right where I requested, first floor near an exit. The only problem, it was next to the mechanical room, ice machine and vending machines. The noise never stopped. I put the tv on to minimize the noise. That didn't work since the tv had no sound. Maintenance was requested. He said there were new owners and suggested to put the closed caption on. Huh? So no news or weather reports. 2 out of 5 days my room key didn't work and had to be rekeyed. That was annoying. Breakfast was a different variety everyday. The little room was always packed so I ate in my room each morning. The pool was open, but never had a chance to utilize it. This hotel could be great if they put a little work into it. And new TVs.

"Disappointing but adequate"
Judy K, 22 Septembre 2023

As many places are experiencing, this hotel has a shortage of housekeeping staff. This would probably explain the dirty carpets and food residue under the foot stool. The staff, however, take the time to fold the towels in a fancy way and of course fold the toilet paper into a triangle (I hate that). But there was no soap at the sink and when I asked, they said it was because of the staff shortage. One time is excusable but I returned about a week later and still no soap. They said we should use the soap in the dispenser on the wall in the shower. But mine was empty and it is in a separate room from the sink. The breakfast was okay. Better than some. The bed was comfortable. The room was sprayed with something overpowering. I needed to open the windows to try to air it out.

"Clean, Old, Basic, Rude Staff"
552tamerag, 03 Septembre 2023

Not in a great location unless you only want to go to Pioneer Park which is walking distance. Side bar - Pioneer Park is a tourist trap not worth seeing or eating at. The hotel was clean. It is old and basic. The staff was not friendly and slightly rude. Unable to answer questions. They were out of soap. The TV didn't work. Breakfast was not tasty. I would not recommend this hotel.

"Unacceptable"
nancy123nancy, 31 Août 2023

We arrive at 5 PM with only one staff member to help all visitors. It took over an hour before we were seen. The only room available per our reservation was noisy and no consideration is offered. Signs announced insufficient staff/no housekeeping, problems with thermostat below 68°, breakfast juice machine out of order. Manager unavailable.

"Stay away!"
164wendye, 27 Août 2023

When coming into the hotel, there were signs everywhere that said that they were short-staffed and no housekeeping services were available. My room smelled of cigarette smoke. By the time I left, everything in my suitcase smelled like cigarette smoke. My room looked nice but it was dirty. It smelled like a sweaty construction worker and cigarette smoke. I requested a fan, since my air conditioner was not working. The TV remote didn't not work, and I had to have it replaced. The bathroom floor was greasy looking and the bathroom smelled like strong urine. The carpet was very dirty and it was noticeably worse when I opened the curtains then it showed how dirty it actually was. I could not walk barefoot in the room. When I did walk barefoot, my feet were black on the bottom. When I arrived with my service animal, they told me, "we are not pet friendly here" I explained that he is a medical alert dog and the front office person asked me what medical condition I have - totally a violation of my rights under ADA. This was a horrible experience and I was so glad to leave. Most hotels were full because of the travel season.

"Stay Away!"
Naniepoppie123, 22 Août 2023

Stay away. This hotel is NOT what it advertises. No shuttle to the airport. Cab fare around $35. Check in was extremely slow. Poor girl needed help!! Noisy all night could hear people above us moving around. Nothing near the hotel for meals. Would not even consider having breakfast in the breakfast room. Shady looking guests. . Couldn't wait to get away. We are not fussy but this place is beyond poor. Signs everywhere saying a variety of services not available due to staff shortages. Entirely unacceptable that our checking in documents even stated free airport shuttle. No compensation!

"Pleasantly surprised "
Tobi D, 09 Août 2023

Upon arrival, we noticed signs about the hotel being short staffed. We can empathize in these situations so we lowered our expectations about our experience there. However, we were pleasantly surprised by a (possibly overworked) staff who were very friendly and accommodating. The beds were very comfortable and we slept great. The room had a nicely appointed coffee station. We loved that the sink was outside of the bathroom so we could get ready at the same time. The bath was nice after being on a cruise ship and the shampoo/ soap provided smelled wonderful. We enjoyed being able to walk to downtown along the Chena River where we saw a Beaver dam and the cutest little beaver snacking on some plants.

"Deposit refund still awaited after 2 weeks"
Discover35950368535, 10 Juillet 2023

A $100 deposit for "incidentals" was debited to my account on 26 June 2023. No charges accrued. Refund of $100 still awaited. Room booked in names of Rayner and Monaghan. Please refund immediately on receipt of this review.

"Great Hotel"
The_Wanderer1992, 08 Juillet 2023

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The room was clean and comfortable. The elevator was not working. Our room was next to the stairs, though, so it was not too inconvenient. The television was quite far from the bed. They have breakfast in the morning with a decent selection. They have an indoor pool and exercise room available for use.

"Quiet and comfy"
shreknfi0na, 04 Juillet 2023

We stay here when we come to Fairbanks in the summer. It's tucked away but quiet and close to everything that we need when we are in town. Breakfast is in point and a great way to start the day. Staff is great and always have a smile and ready to help.

"Quite OK but basic"
traveliman, 30 Mai 2023

This Best Western is OK/average. It‘s a bit outside of Fairbanks. The rooms have no air condition and are a bit hot. We had to keep the windows open. There is no restaurant. The breakfast in the morning is OK though. The bes are a bit soft. OK for 1 or 2 nights.

"Pit Stop"
tmeister06, 21 Mars 2023

It is somewhat tough to give an honest rating for a hotel when you're only there for 14 hours. Breakfast was ok. Could definitely be improved upon with more of an assortment of danishes or yogurt, but I liked the room overall and for the price the amenities are good.

"Best overnight stay"
587chanelw, 13 Novembre 2022

My husband and I recently stayed here to celebrate our 17th anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better hotel in the area. It's close to shopping, entertainment and dining. The room renovations are spectacular. The king bed was a dream to sleep in and the room was big and spacious. We will definitely return for another stay

"They accuse you then steal your deposit I will never be back EVER"
Smhfbks2022, 19 Octobre 2022

Took my son and his friends from school to celebrate my sons birthday. They had a ball but come to check out my deposit was taken. After they accused me of smoking in the hotel full of 9 year olds!! I would never do that in front of my children why in the world would I do that in front of other kids!?! and in a hotel room knowing I wanted my deposit back. It's bs.

"Great sleep and service"
John F, 14 Octobre 2022

We stayed overnight on a two-day train round-trip between Anchorage and Fairbanks. As such, we were only there to sleep, get ready the next morning, and eat breakfast, so those are the only things I'm factoring into this evaluation. This is one of the closest places to the railway station, so it was convenient for us for both arrival and departure. All of the equipment and bathroom facilities worked well, the beds were comfortable, it was clean, and the room was quiet. I'd be glad to stay here again. The front desk was very helpful and comped us and another couple for our taxi back to the railway station.

"Best Best Western"
shawcollin3, 27 Septembre 2022

The staff were efficient and caring and never hesitated let you know to contact them for any reason regarding any issues and they were ready to be there in a moments notice! The complementary coffee was the best coffee I've had in a long time from a hotel! Keep up the good service guys!!!

"Nice but Amenities not Working"
D3723PSmichellem, 09 Septembre 2022

The hotel was nice. The staff at the front desk were super nice. The hotel ran out of breakfast food all 3 days. The pool was out of order. During our stay, the fitness center became out of order. We should get a discount.

"Best Western Plus Fairbanks, Alaska"
twoschills, 06 Septembre 2022

Terrible, dirty room, disrepair in room, closed pool and exercise room, rude desk clerk at check in, terrible breakfast and way over priced at $700 for three nights. I have stayed at many Best Westerns but nothing as poor condition as this one. My room number was 216 if anyone wants to verify what I have stated.

"too expensive, not very clean"
Poochboy63, 18 Août 2022

stained carpet, saw an insect in the bathroom, sink drained poorly, worn furniture. however, staff seemed nice and attentive enough. summer rates in Fairbanks were expensive. booked thru booking.com, should have kept looking

"Expensive and disappointing"
Burcottbabe, 13 Août 2022

Failed to pick us up at the airport, kept us waiting for 2 hours at midnight. Also, although we requested a taxi to the airport 4 hours before we needed it, the reception staff failed to order it. Swimming pool closed and has been for a while. Breakfast 6-9am all food gone by 8.30. No a/c in room. Rooms tired.

"Above and Beyond"
BanjoBaba, 09 Août 2022

We arrived in Fairbanks with one member of our group sick from the Princess land tour. Best Western found him a room and let him check in early so he could sleep. On the negative side, I stay there every year, and the pool has been closed for over a year. It was not closed for Covid. I'm told they're “waiting for a part” so it can be fixed.

"Pool wasn't working, key card maker wasn't working, poorly staffed front desk"
M S, 08 Août 2022

Key card maker wasn't working - only one key and we were told “be sure to bring this back when you check out because it's the only key we have for that room”. Wi-fi was difficult to connect to. Front desk staff was not great - we had to ask about wi-fi, had to wait while the staff member went to a different floor with a guest to let her into her room, had to wait while the staff member took several calls in a row before we were able to check out, at which time we were asked if we wanted a receipt, and when we said no, were told we could go (not sure why I had to wait 10 minutes for that). Pool was closed. Room was fine, a little dated, but with comfortable beds and air conditioning.

"Great hotel!"
anniepetey23, 08 Août 2022

This hotel was perfect for what we were needing! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts exceeded our expectations and the staff were great about refilling and taking care of all the food choices. We'd definitely stay here again!

"Poor customer service"
msflatin, 28 Juin 2022

Upon check in after multiple hours of travel, I wanted to relax in the pool. Guess what was closed….the pool. Get settled in the room and notice hair in the bathroom and old dried shaving cream in the shower. For a newer motel they only had one ice machine, which was located on the third floor. Our fridge didn't work and upon telling the front desk help they had no solution for us, which was frustrating as we had items which needed refrigeration. Overpriced for our experience!

"Great value for Alaska"
diane s, 22 Juin 2022

Our experience was great. The room was big and very clean. The bed was super comfortable. We did not know that breakfast was included so that was a nice surprise. The staff was very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again

"Hotel Catfish"
Review-skiiii, 29 Août 2021

The photos posted by management are of the rooms provided....as the rooms were at least 30 years ago before it all went so very, very.....very wrong. There is no working air conditioning and management/staff are more than well aware of this fact despite including it as one of their amenities. Arriving at my room, I was more than a little shocked at its condition. Not only did the deadbolt not work, but the room was stained, beat up and stifling hot. Yet another Alaskan catfish room. Still, no worries, I can at least turn on the air conditioning, right? I mean, the air conditioning was why I bypassed more economical, better rated and more interesting properties to pay significantly more for this facility right? Right?! I leave and come back, jump in the shower. The room is STILL no cooler than it had been before. I call downstairs and up comes the desk agent who confirms that the deadbolt isn't working properly and that the "air conditioning" unit is barely blowing anything at all on "high". In fact, it's blowing so low not even the thin little inner curtains are moving. She apologizes then tells me that they have "different" rooms with a "different kind of a/c system" that should work just fine and that she will move me to a new room that "won't have that problem". And she was right. It didn't have that problem....WITH THE DEADBOLT. The a/c in the new room is exactly the same and performing the exact same as the previous. She confirms it and says that something like half of their units are the same and in need of maintenance. I ask that if they know the air conditioning is not working, why are they advertising it as a feature and charging air conditioned hotel room prices? She tells me she doesn't know but that she can check a couple of other rooms. After a bit, I'm told there are no other rooms that won't have the same issue. She then proceeds to oh so helpfully suggests that I can open a window. Sure it's raining outside and all but what does that matter? I decline to open the window. She next offers me a fan - but not just any fan, a fan that looks like it hasn't been cleaned since 1993 - you know back when they took the room photos they are peddling on this and every other site? The fan was COVERED in dirt and dust. I mean I was scared to turn it on and inhale whatever the heck was going on in there. In the end, the manager agrees to give me a discount on the room since it was not as advertised. I agree. However, when I go to check out, the desk clerk on duty tells me it's only her 2nd morning there alone EVER, she sees notes in the computer that there was a discussion about a discount but that the night manager failed to put how much was agreed. She therefore CAN NOT CHECK ME OUT. I instead have to call back to speak to yet ANOTHER MANAGER. I call to speak to manager 2. Per this manager, she has spoken with manager 1 and is aware of the situation. She will be issuing that discount and making sure my check out is completed. She will then email me the revised receipt. No discount or email has ever been received. In the lower 48, a room like this would go for $60-75/night WITH WORKING AIR CONDITIONING.

"Great location, horrible experience."
TheDeadVWBus, 23 Août 2021

Room was not ready by 3:00pm as stated on first attempt at check in, second attempt they had credit card processing problems and a very long wait. I could not find anywhere in their previous communications that mentioned the $200 deposit so be prepared for that surprise. Hotel feels a little trashy and could use some updates, also they could use some training on how to be more friendly to their guests. We walked back in after a midnight concert and the person behind the counter didn't even acknowledge us at all. Hotel is in a good location next to Pioneer Park & the Carlson Center but we won't come back.

"Disappointed"
waldentenn, 22 Août 2021

This could be a decent hotel but in its current condition it's to be avoided. No housekeeping, no breakfast room, and no pool. Our room was not well maintained. The computer malfunctioned during check in. On the positive side the front desk staff was friendly and the hotel is connected by foot trail to Pioneer Park and the river walk to downtown. Bottom line is that this hotel needs much better management and for the price we paid it was a poor value.

"tired but friendly"
JimM272, 07 Juillet 2021

tired but friendly first the positives. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The building is quite old and in need of maintenance virtually everywhere. It is clean but very dated. The location is far from ideal. It is walking distance from Pioneer Park which is an interesting park but other than that there was absolutely nothing of interest around the area and nothing to eat except to grab and go breakfast. As a stopping off point for other things it's perfectly fine but I would not want to stay there for a long period of time. On the positive note it does have coin operated washers and dryer's. There was no difficulty obtaining cabs and in fact the hotel paid for the shuttle.

"Website inaccurate, customer services outsourced"
AK_DrewS, 08 Juin 2021

I booked this hotel because the website listed that it has a pool. On the recommendation of a friend, I called to verify that the pool was open. I was on hold for over a half hour before the front desk staff advised me that the pool was not open and he did not know when it would be open. I canceled my booking online and called customer service to get my fees returned. After talking to several customer services reps that I assume are in India or Pakistan I was told to contact the hotel for the refund.

"Shocking and disappointing"
Traveller282012, 02 Juin 2021

This was booked direct on Best Western website. As a family we booked as it had a swimming pool and breakfast included. Upon check- in we were advised the pool was closed and there was no full breakfast (just grab n go). None of which is reflected on the website. We have travelled extensively during COVID and many hotels have adapted to still offer breakfast and swimming pools. The hotel is extremely expensive for no pool, no breakfast and poor standard hotel room. I was then charged $20” damage deposit which was ironic given the existing damage in the room. The room door wouldn't close properly, hole in the door, stains on the walls and floor, filthy air condition unit, mold on window, mold in bathroom and on showerhead, broken fridge cabinet. We were told to stay somewhere else but nowhere had a pool and after a 7hr drive we needed rest. This is extremely disappointing and not reflective of most Best Western hotels we have stayed at. It is very over priced, dirty, dull and in an area that is odd and not near anything. Avoid, it is worth sourcing other hotels / accommodation before this one.

"Description on website is in accurate"
Disappointed1717, 31 Mai 2021

Staff at check in was lackluster. Pool, gym, and breakfast closed, all due to covid but not listed on website. No vending machines and no change for laundry on-site. Web states recently remodeled, false.

"Do not stay here"
swamprat704, 30 Mai 2021

Booked six nights on BW website and problems began at checkin. No hot water first day and warm water with low pressure next two days and one night no water at all. TV broken, lights burned out, barely working A/C. Promised a discount for problems but at checkout refused discount because we already had a good rate (dishonest]. Five minutes after checking out recvd text msg alerting us of $50 charge by the hotel. Called and asked Liz why and she said we damaged multiple towels. We did not, and since we were only a mile away asked to receive or view what we had paid $50 for and told: NO, it is against hotel policy. (fraud, theft) They thought we would not notice the charge within 5 minutes and expect us to believe they went to the room, discovered towels, went downstairs and charged it in less than 5 minutes.

"Don't stay here unless you have a vehicle"
Molly M, 29 Mai 2021

This property is located in the middle of nowhere. If you need food you'll need to take a taxi or have it delivered. There are o vending machines. If you get back late from a tour you're of luck. I asked the evening staff person if she could mail. Postcards. After talking to her supervisor, she said no. The next morning, Cory was o duty and easily dropped them in the outgoing mailbox. Cory was a delight in the morning. He was the one person who did impress us. SUGGESTION: Have some snack options like peanut butter crackers or chicken salad and cracker boxes available for sale at the front desk as well as several soda options.

"Worst stay ever, Rude staff, no water, breakfast abysmal and totally dishonest staff"
fencejumper, 28 Mai 2021

Booked 6 nights on the BW website. Arrived to a slow check in, but someone was being trained. Went to room-holes in lampshade, dented furniture. However, after a 15 hr trip, no hot water in shower. Desk informed, Next day barely warm water and low pressure. Then no water at all. Front desk said that they would leave a note for manager in the AM! No water for hours is outrageous. Then stated that a plumber would be coming overnight and an adjustment would be made to the bill for the inconvenience. Burnt out light bulb, and TV that would only play the weather channel. Asked for maintenance to fix next day. Never showed up. Male staff member switched TVs and brought up a bulb. No hairdryer in the room, a/c wouldn't work -no temp settings, etc. Shampoo/soap dispensers barely worked. Room was dark, but beds were comfortable. Asked for room to be cleaned once in 6 days. Never done. Had to go to front desk or maids to get towels, soap, etc. Breakfast was abysmal-yogurt, cereal bar, water, juice and fruit. Several days they had only cereal water and water. Pool, exercise room and lobby bathroom closed for covid. Called us around 1030 last day to remind us of check out at 1100. We checked out at 10: 43am. told by Consuelo no adjustment to the bill as we got a low rate (booked on BW website, not 3rd party). By 10:48, they posted a $50 charge on amex. Called and spoke with Liz, who stated that we left 3 bath, 1 face towel and 1 bathmat so stained that they had to be discarded. Absolutely ridiculous. We said we were coming back to see them, and she stated that it was hotel policy to not show us the towels, or any photos they supposed had of them. Rude, and dishonest. Within 5 min they claim that they were able to go from the lobby to the second floor to sort out about 8 towels, ascertain that they were stained and needed to be discarded, and back to the front desk to charge Amex-all within 5 minutes. Dishonest, deceptive, poor service/breakfast every day, lies about cleaning, maintenance adjustment for no water, and theft to charge a card, and not allow us to observe the supposed damages. never again. Look at other reviews, and damage charges are frequent. Lots of hotels in Fairbanks, but stay away from this one.

"The hotel was abandoned"
JerryAmerica, 07 Avril 2021

We have made reservation to this hotel because it supposedly had swimming pool. When we got there we saw plywood over the windows bunch of snow around and totally abandoned hotel. We have never seen anything like that in our lives anywhere in the world. I can imagine apology with COVID reason but I am sorry I am not accepting that. It all sounds like bad joke. We got an invitation e-mail first and in couple days survey how satisifed we were with our stay!

"Issue this hotel"
davidsM5949HK, 02 Avril 2021

We book a this hotel online it said it was open I called them anyone did not aswer phone. When we come. The hotel was blocked. Wood. Lots of snow on the ground. I am reporting this problem. Upper management

"Nice place to stay"
carolyneh756, 19 Août 2020

This hotel is nice and clean. The staff was friendly. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Everything was in good working condition. Recommend it. I would stay here again. The breakfast bag was very limited. A banana that was crushed, a bottle of water and a granola bar.

"Hidden away, but comfortable."
BigTool, 29 Mai 2020

The hotel's location is kind of odd; its in an undeveloped patch in the middle of a large industrial zone. There are no restaurants or stores you could walk to easily. But this also makes it a quiet place to stay. Spacious room and all the amenities necessary for a several night stay-- decent wi-fi, pool and guest laundry.

"We always enjoy our stay here!"
gmkrapff, 10 Mars 2020

Hotel is clean and accommodating, with amenities such as a pool, gym, onsite laundry facilities, free Wifi and a great continental breakfast. Staff is welcoming, helpful and kind. Close to shopping centers, ice sculptures, pioneer park and other must see places in Fairbanks.

"Best Western Plus Pioneer Park"
jelauce, 10 Mars 2020

We stayed at this Best Western Feb. 20-26. During our stay, all of the staff were friendly and bent over backwards to be helpful. Upon checkout, we had a glitch with charges. Despite some initial miscommunication, the matter was quickly and professionally taken care of over the phone by the desk staff. The manager personally called to ensure the matter had been settled to our satisfaction. We highly recommend this Best Western to anyone staying in Fairbanks. We extend our heartfelt thanks to ALL of the staff!

"Arctic comfort"
Barry W, 09 Mars 2020

This motel is comfortable and all the staff very cordial and friendly. Our room was large and comfortable, the bed led to good night's sleep, and the pool was clean, perfect temperature, and large for a motel. The complimentary breakfast was varied and delicious.

"Excellent accomidations at a reasonable price. "
155greggo, 11 Février 2020

I stayed here 4 nights. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. I used a Groupon rate at an excellent price. I'd certainly stay here again and would recommend to friends.

"Great location and comfortable beds!"
RicePaddyGirl, 21 Janvier 2020

We were chasing Aurora Borealis and this hotel was centrally located! It's a cute spot tucked in the Chena Loop and was easy to get to! The staff is friendly and having breakfast available was an added bonus!

"Racist Treatment"
magicasalsera, 19 Janvier 2020

I'm sad to say that it felt like my group of mixed race children were racially profiled and treated with deep disrespect as was I by management. I told the night staff to call me if there were any complaints because we intended to be quiet and respect other guests. But around 9:15 am we were asked to leave a couple hours early because of "movement" in the rooms. (They were resting or sleeping when I received the first call). The children with me ate breakfast, used the pool or stayed in our three rooms. When we were asked to leave we politely agreed and started to pack up our things. We took out our own trash so as not to overburden the housekeeping staff. I had planned to leave a good tip for all three rooms but we were hurried out. It seemed that the Manager on Duty blamed our group for things other tenants were doing in the building because we were in our rooms. First, she stopped me from going in to a room to retrieve belongings. Then as we were cleaning and picking up the other rooms she angrily told me we had to leave NOW and deactivated our rooms. I attempted to explain we were cleaning up our things to prepare to leave and she said "NOW or I call the police". I answered with "Um" to begin further explaining we were cooperating and would leave the rooms in good shape and she said, "OK I call the police" and stormed off. She actually called the police for no reason because we were only gathering our things and picking up our trash. Another in our group witnessed the police arrive and staff write a police report even as all of the children in my care were respectfully getting our rooms ready to leave. It felt terrible to be treated with such disrespect when I spoke calmly to the manager. But it was worse when she didn't say anything to two white kids in the lobby and then spoke harshly to two black kids in our group who were waiting for their ride in the lobby, telling them they had to go NOW. It was minus 20 below outside. It was also in bad form to call the police unnecessarily since we were willingly leaving.

"Watch out for extra charges"
Melissa S, 27 Décembre 2019

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 4 nights. When I got home I come to find out that this hotel charged my card 4 times, 1 was for the hotel stay, another was for supposed damages to towels which never happened, and two charges that the hotel is not recognizing yet are on my card. I asked to speak to a manager, I'm being told he's out sick until wed and it's Friday night now. Wdf!! How do you damages towels and why is there Noone there to run this hotel when management is gone! The staff is a hit and miss between nice which was only a few and complete attitude or very unfriendly... I WILL NEVER COME BACK

"Best Western very good service."
mustangicegirlak, 10 Décembre 2019

Staff was friendly and helpful. I was happy to find that they had pack and play pens for our baby. They had a pool which was great. Very clean and nice rooms. The breakfast was very nice as well. Every thing positive.

"Nice hotel, bad management"
travellingtrubador, 15 Novembre 2019

The hotel is clean, the breakfast is good, and the staff is friendly. However, the manager has been rude and unhelpful during 2 of my stays there. Additionally their shuttle van has been inoperable for more than 2 months so they call a taxi for you when needed; this results in long wait times. It is a nice hotel but they need to replace their manager.

"Watch out for Damage charges"
GlobeTrotting216134, 15 Novembre 2019

The hotel and staff it's self are very nice. Every team member was helpful and kind. The problem accured when we left and they charged us for some damages that were clearly either not ours or could be washed out of the sheets and hand towels. We had pizza in bed and no napkins so we wiped our mouth on hand towels which are washable and will come out. They also tried to charge us for some old ink stains on one of the sheets. In the pix they send us you can clearly tell the sheet had been washed before with that stain on it. The problem was resolved and the manager did refund us our money. However it was enough to keep me from going back because I don't want to have to inspect every inch of the room when I check in. Had it not been for this I would have been willing to go back and would have given a much higher review.

"Tucked away hotel near airport"
rotundo_99, 12 Novembre 2019

Tucked away hotel near airport. Great complimentary breakfast with many options. Well prepared. Staff very friendly and professional. Helped out with information on food delivery etc. No restaurants are within walking distance so knowing the good restaurants that deliver is a must. Very clean rooms with all facilities in great working condition. Airport shuttle service. I would stay here again

"Fairbanks stay"
Lwise5437, 11 Novembre 2019

Wonderful time. Clean and comfortable. Good hot breakfast and 24/7 coffee service. Staff was very friendly and helpful with things to do and places to go. The ladies who do the breakfast did a very good job and kept things replenished and clean

"Always a good stay"
Ernest W, 08 Novembre 2019

We have stayed here at this hotel many times. The staff have always been helpful and very nice. If you are seeking a place to stay in Fairbanks, I would recommend this hotel for your stay. The location is close to town but located in a quiet area all by itself.

"A cozy hotel in a beautiful secluded loop road. Outstanding staff"
WCAlaska, 21 Octobre 2019

Arriving at the hotel -- it was clean, well kept, and fresh. A kind young man named Corey checked us in. Very respectful. The room was clean, well appointed, and stocked with fresh bath supplies. The room had a coffee make and great coffee. Nice flat screen TV. The hotel is spacious and well furnished. The breakfast nook was friendly and well stocked in the morning. They had an attendant checking the breakfast food to make sure nothing ran out. Great coffee! The property is off the busy highways in a secluded but easy accessable location, surrounded by a small woods of evergreens. Very quiet at night and in the morning. Breakfast was great and I enjoyed as always making my own waffles. Wife had some of the wonderful assortment of baked morning goods. Such a pleasant surprise-- we will be there again sometime down the road. Thanks to all the staff who make the hotel very special!

"Fairbanks Alaska Trip"
Cosmopolitan107739, 13 Octobre 2019

Our stay at Best Western Plus Pioneer Park was enjoyable. We plan to Fairbanks in returning in 2020 and will stay here again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has plenty of both hot and cold options and tastes great. The beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. Our only complaint is the pool temperature was too cool for us to enjoy it.

"Wrong information provided for free nights during hotel checkin"
Atanu G, 07 Octobre 2019

I stayed in Best Western Pioneer Park for 3 nights and i was told that I shall receive a free night upon registration. I did the registration and did not receive a free night. Now the customer service desk tells that you have to make the booking directly through best western in order to get the free night. This is wrong information provided by the hotel front desk to the customers.

"Night in Fairbanks"
jmacch, 03 Octobre 2019

My wife and I recently stayed at the Best Western Plus for a night after flying into Fairbanks prior to joining a Princess cruise tour. The hotel was clean and the service was good. We arrived after midnight and the hotel is close to the airport, which made it convenient.

"Great Value Hotel"
MDIslander301, 03 Octobre 2019

Great value hotel. Could be even better with automatic front doors to be able to get your luggage into and out of the hotel. Could pay a bit more attention to cleaning especially the bathroom, and the room lighting could be brighter. Also could have used USB port to charge cellphones etc. Excellent Internet connection, breakfast, and Aurora Wake Up Call.

"Housekeeping"
turtledeee, 27 Septembre 2019

Overall this is a normal best western. Standard free breakfast menu, Fitness center, pool, in room fridge, and an area with computers and printers for guest usage. The issues we had were personal I believe, so your stay might be different. Our room was never cleaned. We arrived around 3 am on a Thursday morning and did not check out until the following Sunday. We did come in late one night and someone made only one of the beds and left some extra washcloths. Yet the trash was left, nothing was vacuumed and the tub still dirty. We went to the artic circle the day before and came back muddy. So we were looking forward to coming back to a clean room, yet, other than the one made bed, it looked exactly the same. My friend whom I was traveling with, never thinks poorly of people. She assumed there must have been an emergency and the housekeeper had to leave unexpectedly. She even hoped that everything was ok. I on the other hand was just annoyed. I put the trash out in the hallway and went to sleep. Late the next evening we asked the front desk staff if we could get a late check out for the following morning. Nothing crazy, just an additional hour. He stated we would need to check with housekeeping in the a.m. More specifically the head housekeeper. We assumed that meant there would be a "head housekeeper" speed dial option on the phone. There was not. So, in the am my friend walked out into the hall and asked the housekeeper cleaning the room across from us how do we request a late check out. She asked, "what time"? My friend responded, "noon". The housekeeper said, "ok, no problem". We then received a very nasty call from "Lisa" the head housekeeper instructing us we needed to leave. She started off rude. There is nothing we could have done to anger this lady so much. The hotel wasn't overly busy and even if it were, you don't call guests and speak to them the way she did. I've asked for late check outs at the Marquis in Times square on a Saturday and didn't have anyone treat me this way. If a hotel in Times Square could accommodate a late checkout in the middle of summer when it was actually busy, a best western in Fairbanks Alaska couldn't? Which would have been fine if we were told no, politely, from the beginning, but that was not how your treat guests. I have reported this incident to corporate and will never stay at Best Western again!

"Clean, friendly, quiet, comfy!"
akforever72, 27 Septembre 2019

Cute little place, close to everything but, it doesn't feel like you are in the heart of the city! Loved it, but the pool was never open. The staff was friendly, breakfast was fresh and hot, the place was spotless!!!!

motel was better than expected because I have stayed at other motels in area Motel personal very friendly and helpful Best pice through priceline , must reserve early busy time of year over looking Chena River off of main highway in a wooded area very little road noise

"Run down"
David M, 14 Septembre 2019

Needs a good thorough redo. Well worn. Air conditioner clunks loud when it shitsxoff. Rugs show wear. Room needs a good repainting. Indoor Pool lacked any ventilation. You will need a car in order to move throughout the area and we love to walk and there really isn't any place to walk. Pioneer park which is close is closed most of the year. Excellent breakfast, but poor hiusekeeping.

"Good experience"
jtj483, 08 Septembre 2019

We stayed one night that this property. It is sort of secluded from downtown, which might be a good thing. It was clean, quiet, good beds, plenty of room. Good WiFi and tv reception. Check in was very easy, very pleasant. The complementary breakfast was very good. We would recommend it.

"Awesome hotel"
Resort145838, 03 Septembre 2019

Very clean-the beds/pillows were great-slept as good as mine at home-and I never say that! Breakfast was great-variety everyday.. Exterior of hotel looked much better than pic used when making reservation-Usually it's the opposite-so pleasantly surprised.. Very easy access, good parking.. only negative would be need brighter bulbs in room-plenty of lamps, but low wattage bulbs-makes putting on makeup hard.. :) but overall Excellent experience!

"charged for services never received"
GrandTour50969935977, 01 Septembre 2019

I used their website to try and make a future reservation. Instead I got charged for the day I did the search . The website kept reverting to the day I made the search. I never got a confirmation or any indication I was being charged. I called the hotel and spoke to Maia the General Manager who could care less about reversing the charge for a service I never used. I accidentally found it on my credit card statement.I suggest travelers find another hotel in Fairbanks.

"poor Service"
Robyn M, 20 Août 2019

When we arrived at the hotel we had to give our travel card details to them. When left we had found out that they had taken out our room charge again. We had paid through our travel agent. Our travel agent has contacted them to get the refund put back onto our travel card. The travel agent has emailed them numerous time without reply. We have now been waiting 3 months with no refund! We also had to wait for breakfast (which was nothing special )With only about 8 tables for a big hotel. This also happened to our friends travelling with us. They got their refund almost immediately when queried. Not Happy

"Very nice hotel"
GregS354, 18 Août 2019

A little bit of a secluded location, but it is a nice modern hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and the room quite spacious. The bathroom was clean as a whistle, with good quality towels. The room has all the standard amenities, and felt fresh. The complimentary breakfast has lots of choices for anyone to enjoy, and the orange juice was way better than you would ever expect from a hotel. This place is a great value, and is trying to please.

"Very Nice Quiet Location!"
boxy_caprice, 08 Août 2019

Nice clean and newer property. Check in was fast and efficient. Staff was very friendly and had everything taken care of quickly for our group. Rooms were nice and clean, AC worked very well, beds/pillows were comfy, and everything was very nice. This was a real value as it was very affordable compared to other options in Fairbanks. Had good reviews on Trip Advisor. Would definitely stay here again.

"Nice"
AlaskaVans, 04 Août 2019

Visiting Fairbanks as my daughter is transferring to UAF. Hotel was clean. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi. My daughter enjoyed it. Breakfast was good. Standard stuff. Tina at the front desk did an excellent job. Very helpful.

"A little worn, but clean and excellent service"
tmoore48, 02 Août 2019

Carpets and fixtures were somewhat worn, but everything was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The desk staff was absolutely excellent, sending a cab to the airport to get us, which the hotel covered (we covered top), making recommendations of restaurants that would deliver to the hotel, and then again covered the cab to the train depot then next morning. My only complaint is that we could hear every step taken in the room above ours, which wouldn't have been an issue if they hadn't been apparent nervous vampires, since we heard quite a bit of activity in the 2:00 hour, the 4:00 hour, and for an hour before they finally left at 6:10.

"Best Customer Service ever!"
bringardharris, 28 Juillet 2019

Our car rental fell through and we were panicked! We arrived at the Best Western thinking our trip was ruined. The ladies at the front desk listened to our plight and went above and beyond to help us. One of them got on the phone and found us a rental car. We were amazed that there were people willing to do more than their job required. That's hard to come by these days.

"Perfect hotel for day trips in area"
Starfish423, 26 Juillet 2019

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and comfortable beds in room with refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast was substantial with oatmeal, waffles, pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and a different kind of egg and breakfast meat every day. Heated pool which we did use every day as a nice way to relax in evening. Stayed here as a home base for a day trip to Arctic Circle and to Denali National Park. The hotels at Denali were simply too pricey for us, so this was perfect. 2 hour drive each way, but the scenery makes the time fly by.

"Needs better cleaning"
Lee-Anne K, 21 Juillet 2019

Everything was perfect except our sink had toothpaste in it from the previous guests, the toilet was dirty and the fireplace only had 1 small flame so we didn't use it which sucked because i paid extra for it.

"Alaska trip"
457janetk, 21 Juillet 2019

We were booked at another motel & it wasn't very pleasant. We called BW to see if they had any rooms available. The person that checked us in was very helpful & recommended we go to the Salmon Bake @ the Pioneer Park, which was within walking distance. They also called a cab & paid the fare for us the following morning to take us to the train station.

"Great Hotel & Location"
Pat-in-S-Fla, 20 Juillet 2019

Friendly and helpful front desk, housekeeping and breakfast staff. The room was clean and spacious. Air conditioning worked well. Free breakfast options good for vegan (plain oatmeal packets and fruit) and omnivores (eggs, meat and waffles).

"Great location for touring Fairbanks"
SanandMike, 16 Juillet 2019

We stayed two nights here and found it to be clean and nice. The hot breakfast was kept full and the staff in the dining area, as well as the front desk were all very helpful. I had to call and change our reservation dates about two weeks before we arrived and they were very accommodating. we would stay again if in Fairbanks.

"Nice hotel &good service"
Orna-rom, 10 Juillet 2019

we stayed here one night in our way to valdez from Denali park. the room is spacious ,clean .the breakfast has good variety food. the front desk staff where very kind and helpful. the hotel has swimming pool and gym -we didn't use it ,but it looks good. we went to eat in cena's restaurant closed by viewing the river. the dishes were wonderful especially the teriyaki salmon.

"Very Nice Hotel"
FDinger, 09 Juillet 2019

We stayed here for two nights, while visiting Fairbanks and going on excursions in the area. It is a nice property in a good location with excellent service. Check-in was very courteous and helpful for local information. Our room had two queen beds, a chair with ottoman, a desk with chair, fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker. It was clean, and there was plenty of room to spread out with our copious luggage. The sink and vanity are in the room, separate from the bath and toilet. The towels and sundries provided were good quality. We did not use the pool, but those that were seemed to enjoy it. The free breakfast was good, with a variety of hot and cold items. The hotel is a little off the beaten path, but easy to find. There is a pedestrian bridge from the parking lot across the Chena River to Pioneer Park, which is a neat place. It's a nice little walk. I highly recommend a stay at the Best Western Plus Pioneer Park.

"Nice Hotel, Great Management"
Scott V, 09 Juillet 2019

This hotel is in a quiet location, a little bit hidden, but easy to find. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there is a nice indoor pool. What stood out for me was the high quality of service. We were warmly greeted on arrival by the young woman behind the desk and felt welcome immediately. We kept running into this hardworking employee throughout our stay. There she was restocking the towels by the pool. There she was on the second floor making up a guest room. There she was running downstairs to get me quarters for the laundry. She was so busy working all over the place, I really began to think she must have a twin sister. I thought, "Wow! I really need to commend this person to her manager." Then after reading her replies to prior guests on TripAdvisor, I realized Samantha is the manager. This hotel is just awesome, and it all begins with the leadership. Thank you for the kindness, caring, and understanding you showed my family during our stay. Your hotel truly is a special place.

"Nice hotel"
susanbJ291OY, 08 Juillet 2019

Our room was a double queen and came equipped with 2 queen beds, a comfy chair, desk w/chair, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee pot with teas and coffees. The room was clean but was in need of some basic updating (as are most Alaska hotels so this is merely an observation rather than a dig). The lighting was relatively dim and some bulbs were out, however, there were multiple lamps in the room. The beds were a bit hard for my taste and I woke up several times during the night due to general noises. This is pretty common for me, however. The hotel has vending machines which take credit cards-which was nice. The pool was fun for the kids and is open until 10pm so my kids were able to swim before and after dinner. Towels were provided in the pool area and replenished regularly. We were able to park right outside of our room which made me feel more comfortable since I was able to keep an eye on my car. It also made loading bags in and out easier. The breakfast area is small but well equipped. There were choices of donuts, bagels, cereal, toast, English muffins, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, potatoes, cheese, salsa, waffles and fruits available. Juice and coffee was also provided. Since the breakfast area is small, plan on getting there early or taking your plates to your room to eat. I believe breakfast starts at 6am. This isn't a fancy or luxurious hotel but it delivers what it promises, and is budget friendly, which is important to most people.

"Great Staff and Convenient"
Neil H, 05 Juillet 2019

Tina was great on the phone assisting us with a Day room due to our 12:00 am departure. The room was clean, Skye at the front desk was very courteous and professional and the Pioneer Park and Hoo Doo Brewery a short walk and a great way to spend the afternoon.

"Nice Stay in Fairbanks"
Hjk131, 30 Juin 2019

We had a nice stay at this hotel while we wrapped up our stay in Fairbanks. A lot of the attractions are within walking distance, including Hoo Doo Brewery. Skye was very friendly and courteous during our check in. My only complaint would be while bringing my luggage in on the cart, I could not get the handicap doors to open automatically, so I struggled to keep both doors open. One of the staff, a female with short redish hair, was sitting outside during my struggle and did not offer any help or assistance.

"Best Western Fairbanks Poineer"
Timothy K, 29 Juin 2019

Great location, helpful friendly staff lots of info available for the area. Quiet and great breakfast service. The staff working the breakfast were very attentive making sure everything wa refilled hot and ready no back up and crowd. Everyone was concerned about helping at the hotel.

always have such a wonderful stay here, this was the second time staying here when visiting Alaska, to see our grandson, and this will be the only place I stay. the staff always make sure we get what we need. so helpful, just love them all

"Nice Hotel!!"
Ann1047, 20 Juin 2019

We spent one night here during our recent Alaska road trip. The hotel was nice. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was the usual Best Western fare. The girl that handled the breakfast was super nice and did a great job. She was really busy but she kept everything filled. The girl that checked us in was okay. First thing she couldn't find my reservation. Then all of a sudden it appeared. I asked her for some restaurant recommendations and she just pointed to a pack of papers that listed the restaurants. Technically she answered my question, but it is nice to have some interaction. Overall it was a pleasant stay!

"OK, but not great"
vjlj, 19 Juin 2019

It is somewhat remotely located from the airport although near the attraction Pioneer Park. Staff was friendly and helpful. The facility is somewhat tired. Breakfast was the standard hotel breakfast. No airport shuttle service

"Best Western Pioneer Park, Fairbanks, Alaska"

Excellent service. Checked into two rooms at 10:30 pm, spent the night. Used the fitness center, and had an excellent breakfast in the morning. Clean rooms, excellent internet service and comfortable bed!

"Great value off the beaten path"
gkolanchick, 17 Mai 2019

Couldn't be more pleased with our two night stay here. Booked on line and didn't expect much as the price was very inexpensive. Great staff eager to please and full of advice on all aspects of our visit to the area. Upgraded to a suite we had a huge room with king bed and couldn't hear a peep from anyone. Located on a loop in the woods so no road noise at all. Breakfast was tasty with a good mix of choices. Great little gym with big screen TV to make the minutes fly on the elliptical working off the chocolate cake from Brewsters. Didn't try the pool but looked clean and well maintained. Chena river walking trail right across the street with easy access to Pioneer Park. Took a drive down to Denali Park and had a rare clear day to see Denali from the 10 mile vantage point, still 76 miles away. Saw a grizzly our first minute out of the car at Savage River bridge and Caribou on the other side. What a great welcome to our 50th of 50 states visit!

"Very clean and good standard of rooms"
Passport651895, 09 Mai 2019

Very good hotel, lovely clean rooms. Only problem, we got a late night call to our room saying there was a problem with our check in and they needed our credit card details again. Obviously we did not give them and put the phone down. I told front desk the next morning and they just laughed, saying they hoped I didn't give my credit card details to the crank caller. I was very disappointed that this was not taken seriously. Please be warned if you stay at this hotel, don't give your CC details out once you've checked in.

"Pcs/Army"
outlawwife, 16 Avril 2019

Horrible! I'm currently here with my 3 week old baby and husband. We are in room 203 and the tv only shows 3 channels! We contacted the front desk the young lady comes in and doesn't know why it's fuzzy. We are pcsing and decided to stay here. The military per diem is $75.00 per night and the young man when booking told my husband he's going to upgrade up and he then charged my husband $97.00 and a $200 golfing fee also known as a deposit! So that's $397.00 for one night and 3 TV channels! I called to complain because the young lady that came to our room said she will call a manager and obviously she didn't because no one reached out to us. Then we have friends staying here too that were charged a $100.00 rate for an deposit that was staying longer than us too! How terrible can you be? Abusing military members and their finances for horrible services. I contacted the franchise and was told this hotel is independently owned! Therefore they are just using Best Western name! They even said they never heard of a $200.00 standard fee and that was ridiculous! DO NOT STAY HERE! RUN! It's been a nightmare. We are literally sitting in here looking at the 4 walls getting ready to leave because we waited for the manager to come and they never did or called to try to make things better! What a way to leave ALASKA!

"comfortable stay"
Departure62344404685, 11 Avril 2019

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, good hot breakfast, helpful front desk staff, comfortable room and only ten minutes from the airport. Only negative is the cable package on the TV, not anything I wanted to watch.

"Broken Toilet, no relief"
Culture55227620774, 09 Avril 2019

Facility overall nice. Found that the toilet was completely broken when I arrived after watching the northern lights at 0100 hours. Staff did not care. Held it through the next morning. Front desk said they'd have manager call me to discuss the problem. Manager never bothered to call me back.

We spent one night here in transition between two Anchorage and a basecamp in the outskirts of Fairbanks. The room was fine and met our needs. It was clean and everything was functional. The breakfast was a mixed bag. It was the second hotel during our trip that served powdered eggs. Not pleasant. Oddly they served more expensive real bacon and good name brand Greek yoghurt. So why they serve terrible eggs is weird. The front desk service was very nice. Even though Pioneer Park was closed, we were able to walk through it and walk along the river. Very cute park and something I would like to do when in season.

"Nice staff but Horrible Breakfast"
rechelles2017, 05 Avril 2019

If you want nice rooms and beds, than stay here. The staff are nice and housekeeping superb. BUT...the breakfast Horrible! No fresh vegies nor fruit. Eggs FAKE and bad taste! Bacon microwaved/not cooked!

"Really like this hotel"
wmumom1, 01 Avril 2019

We have stayed here several times and really like this hotel. The rooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly and very helpful. We live in Delta Junction and this is our place to stay when we have to go into town and need to stay overnight!

"Outstanding place to stay"
TXRanchman, 24 Mars 2019

Great base of operations during our stay in Fairbanks. Beautiful location, convenient to get around from, and a nice hotel. I'm rating it 5 stars as it stands at the top of its class and price range. Super breakfast -- eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits along with the normal waffles, cereal, yogurt and muffins. Clean rooms, and well informed and helpful staff who refreshed the room daily and kept it in clean towels. I'd stay here again on a return visit.

"Excellent Experience"
MarieMcCl, 11 Mars 2019

We stayed here for 6 nights. The Staff was amazing,The room was clean and beds comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and its easily accessible to everywhere in Fairbanks. There is a heated pool and a small gym if you wanna use them and the price was great!! We even had a family of moose in the Hotel front lawn.I will stay here again and Highly recommend this property

"Lovely location"
SHERI B, 06 Mars 2019

This hotel is in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees and close access to everything. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning, the opportunity to have a pool and exercise room. The rooms were clean and the service was great.

"Good location!"
ILoveFoodComa, 05 Mars 2019

I found an excellent deal on "Booking" website. After reading many good reviews, I felt comfortable making a reservation. The Service: My flight arrived closed to midnight. By the time, I arrived at the hotel, it was late and I was super exhausted. The staff at the front desk, Lance, was assisting me. He was super efficient at the check-in process so I could go to my room & rest right away. He definitely went above & beyond giving me a city map, local restaurant delivery phone numbers and information about the neighborhood without me asking first. A+ customer service! The Room: Good size, clean & comfortable. There are complimentary coffee & tea in the room. LOVE their complimentary breakfast. Not just typical bagel/muffin breakfast... there are scramble egg, sausage patty, roasted potato, waffles, pastries, bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt & different beverage (coffee, tea, juices & milk). Totally a full breakfast! The Parking: Big parking lot, there is always a spot. If the temperature is below zero and you need to charge your car overnight, they have several outlets in the parking lot as well. The hotel is close to the airport, about 10 minutes drive. It is close to the highway as well. There are restaurants and shops just a few minutes drive close by. Very convenient! Overall, very nice hotel in a good location!

"Best Western Plus Pioneer Park"
winnapesaukee, 15 Février 2019

A hidden gem if you don't need the Waldorf Astoria ,received a perfect score while we were there for cleanliness etc. from hotel inspector. Tucked away in a grove of spruce giving you the feeling of solidarity . All staff were extremely considerate , warm, talkative and genuine . Nice little breakfast bar with eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries and waffle makers with toppings . Coffee machine, juice machine with water, cranberry , orange and apple . Muffins, pastries, cereal, Whole and 2 % milk available and also almond milk. Won't go hungry. We were there in February and the hotel had its own resident cow moose ( Sasha ) and her two calves . Price was extraordinary compared to other hotels. Super clean rooms , very comfortable and 12 star housekeeping .

"January Visit to Alaska"
DonnaGetMeStarted, 04 Février 2019

Good hotel. Easy walk to bus stop to town or staff can call you a cab. Breakfasts were buffet-style. Rooms clean with good facilities. Vending machines on site for snacks. No airport shuttle but hotel will pay for a cab.

"Very Comfortable stay"
Fearless37044408915, 23 Janvier 2019

The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. They had a good verity at breakfast and the staff was very friendly. The one time we encountered and issue with the room key the staff was friendly and took care of it right away. I would recommend this place to anyone.

"Management needs to focus on employee development more"
mtrinko, 20 Janvier 2019

Some of the employees and the facility have the potential of being Best Western plus material but certainly the breakfast female in the front desk male and the sofa bed mattresses have the equality of just the Best Western and not a plus maybe even the quality of a Ramada

"Simply wonderful"
I6428AVkathyh, 19 Janvier 2019

My husband and I stayed here on our last trip to Fairbanks. The room was large and comfortable. The room was clean and we'll stocked with all necessities. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was beyond expectation. We will definitely be staying here on our future visits to Fairbanks.

"No hot water"
Laura V, 18 Janvier 2019

Hotel staff failed to notify us that the hot water would be shut off all morning while they fixed a leaky pipe. Since we live in a dry cabin, a main reason to pay for a hotel in Fairbanks is to take a hot shower. Front desk staff provided no advanced notice or alternatives.

"Great place to stay in Fairbanks"
Ernest W, 14 Janvier 2019

We have stayed at this hotel many times and enjoyed each stay. Even when we had some difficulties with our rooms the stay went beyond the call to make everything right. Stay are always helpful and General Manager is always eager to help as well.

"Great place to stay and with breakfast!!"
belovedpetra, 14 Janvier 2019

Very courteous and kind staff, clean building and rooms, yummy breakfast with many options: make your own waffle, cereal, scrambled eggs, toast. The beds were comfortable and the temperature inside was wonderful as it was really chilly outside. Appreciated the close plug-ins for our car.

"Keyon is the best!"
Icecold907, 10 Janvier 2019

We were traveling as a team to Fairbanks for a tournament and Keyon did a great job of setting us up in the rooms we needed while being incredibly busy. Keyon was dealing with matience, ppl checking out, house keeping and so much more. He was juggling so many things but still made us feel like we were his priority! We had a little snag in our reservation but he worked at it until he found the best solution. Couldn't ask for better customer service. Thanks Keyon!

"Home away of home."
DayTrip67796474502, 09 Janvier 2019

Staying at the best Western plus pioneer park was a treat in the middle of a -40 winter. The breakfast was exceptional and the rooms was very comfortable and quiet due to the location. Vending machines were well stocked and conveniently located.

"Quiet and comfortable"
Elle989, 05 Janvier 2019

We had a large room with a comfortable bed, mini-fridge, microwave, easy chair, desk with chair, nightstands and bedside lamps on each side of bed, clock, iron, and hairdryer. The sink was in the main room with the shower/tub and toilet in the bathroom. The room was very quiet, no road noise. The complimentary breakfast was okay. The drapes did not close completely. I expected better drapes in Alaska.

"Well worth the money!!"
Mom_with_Miles, 04 Janvier 2019

This was located in a beautiful location, close to everything. Very clean and sound control was as expected. Great breakfast and indoor pool. Beautiful surrounding landscape. Preferred this location over the Chena Hot Springs resort!!!

"Disappointing Stay"
justinlpdx, 01 Janvier 2019

My family stayed at this hotel for four nights on a vacation visit to Fairbanks. The hotel is a good value but I was disappointed in a few things where I believe the hotel falls a bit short of the standard of other Best Western Plus hotels. First, the WiFi is terrible. It was extremely slow and there where multiple hour plus long outages during our stay. Second, the breakfast area is too small for the number of guests in the hotel making it extremely cramped and chaotic and the staff was working furiously to the to keep it restocked but struggled. Also, the pool area is missing a hot tub, something I believe is a must in Alaska winters. Finally, if you are hoping to see the northern lights from this hotel you won't, there is a factory that puts out smoke all night in the direction of where you would see them. On the plus side, the hotel rooms are quite roomy and the hotel is in a very quiet and secluded location in town. Overall, good value but we would try a different hotel if we returned to Fairbanks.

"Great Hotel in Fairbanks"
Explore64243549062, 23 Décembre 2018

I had to go to Fairbanks overnight to pick up my son and I just went online and found a hotel with the best rate possible and was pleasantly surprised by how awesome this place was they have a fitness room a pool and amazing complimentary breakfast spread and the beds are really comfortable!!!

"Great personnel and comfortable lodging..."
fletch182, 12 Décembre 2018

The hotel is located in a quite area, which means nothing within walking distance but restaurants and shopping are within a few mile drive. The lobby is clean and comfortable (nicely decorated for the holidays). Sam, the general manager, will go out of her way to make sure you are not lacking for anything during your stay. Her personnel are friendly and very personable. The room was clean and offered a microwave and single cup coffee maker, wish they had hot chocolate packets in the room. There were a few minor issues (primarily due to the aftermath of the Anchorage earthquake). The boiler went out one night, causing no hot water in the morning but they had the problem rectified within just a few hours. The electricity went out for about a half hour and no emergency backup. The continental breakfast consisted of make your own waffles (only one waffle maker), eggs (either scrambled or omelettes), potatoes, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fruit and pastries. All items were fresh and restocked accordingly. We didn't use the pool but many others did. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again on our next visit to Fairbanks. Thank you Sam and crew for making our first trip to Alaska memorable.

"Comfortable hotel in secluded area of Fairbanks"
mckinleygirl1963, 05 Décembre 2018

The Best Western Plus Pioneer Park Inn is a comfortable and reasonably-priced hotel in a very secluded, but safe area of Fairbanks. Amenities include a complimentary, hot, free breakfast, a fitness center, pool, guest laundry area, and a warm and cozy lobby area perfect for watching TV or reading a book. Coffee is available 24/7. There is ample parking and as mentioned above, the hotel is located in a very secluded and beautiful, but safe area. The staff are helpful and friendly. Check-in and check-out are a breeze. The room we had was spacious and very clean. The fireplace was a nice touch! The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great! Overall, I can recommend this hotel. Things you should know before going are as follows: 1) Your card will be charged an extra $200 for incidentals, but this charge comes off the instant you check out. 2) The hotel is not close to the airport (as in less than a mile), but you should be able to get to the airport in about 10-15 minutes or less. 3) If you have a rental car, you will need to have information about the car to provide to the staff

"My Hands-Down Choice in Fairbanks!"
Neil H, 03 Décembre 2018

After experiencing multiple lodging facilities, Best Western Pioneer Park has become my preferred Fairbanks hotel. The staff is courteous, professional, and just plain top-notch. The rooms are spacious & clean and internet speedy. Breakfast, a hot & cold buffet, is suburb and a real treat! On top of it all, there's an indoor pool and fitness center. You can't go wrong with Best Western Pioneer Park! It is, indeed, my hands-down choice.

"Very nice and budget friendly"
Tammy S, 04 Novembre 2018

I loved the location of this hotel, just out of town so it felt quiet, it was quiet. The rooms and hotel in general, were clean and up to date. Breakfast was good, up to Best Western standards. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was warm, warmer than most. Close enough proximity to Fairbanks to not feel too secluded. We got a fantastic deal on the room. We booked on a flash sale and couldn't have found a better price.

"Clean and Convinient"
TravelingG8TR, 27 Octobre 2018

We had such a pleasant stay at this Best Western. Coming from a big city, we found “slim pickings” for hotels in Fairbanks. We are so glad we chose this hotel for our stay. The rooms were spotless, so large I could probably do a few cartwheels in them, and the fireplace was so cozy and welcoming after a long day. Breakfast is served in the lobby each morning and it is plentiful. Staff is friendly and efficient. I would gladly stay here again if I find myself in Fairbanks.

"Very Pleasant stay in Fairbanks"
JudyH410, 24 Octobre 2018

The hotel is centrally located. It was extremely clean. Best part was the helpful and gracious staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Kudos to all staff, especially the manager and Corinne, who did a great job with breakfast every morning!

"Best sleep and delicious breakfast!"
belindasantana, 17 Octobre 2018

Everyone was very helpful with sightseeing advise which was really helpful. The room was great..plenty of power outlets to charge all our devices. Beds were divine best sleep ever!!! I set my alarm daily so i wouldn't miss the delicious breakfast. Well stocked. Variety. Fresh and they even had homemade salsa! Yummy.

"Comfortable Beds"
iburton3260, 15 Octobre 2018

the beds were comfortable, and breakfast had a good selection. The pool is closed and emptied out, so my boy was a little disappointed with that. but all in all, a nice hotel and staff at check in. ladies kept the breakfast counters clean. If i need a hotel in Fbks again I would stay there. Best of all there was NO bugs :-)

"Carlson Center Event"
482dennis, 15 Octobre 2018

Great Location for Carlson Center. It is clean and well staffed. Rooms are good! Price is fair. Breakfast is decent. There is no close by restaurant nor amenities. It is a bit removed, which is nice, however, inconvenient. You can easily walk to Carlson Center, though the trail is through the woods and unlit, so at night is is a bit unsettling.

"Great stay with excellent hospitality!!!!"
gandhijay, 07 Octobre 2018

Excellent stay. Very clean place. very nice staff to support your travels. Front desk clerk went above and beyond to help me print my boarding passes. Breakfast staff was always on their toes to make you happy and made sure that your day starts well.

"Ok if you have transport"
John L, 03 Octobre 2018

A means of transport is required if staying here as the location is out of the way with no restaurants/eating places or bars etc within walking distance. The room was good but the breakfast was not the best.

"Good for a night"
Bryan B, 01 Octobre 2018

The rooms are comfy, the staffIs great. Amenities are so so. Pool is not appealing, breakfast room is very cramped, & WiFi is slow. But hey I wasn't there to admire a hotel. The surrounding scenery is great.

"Good deal for a last minute reservation!"
bayerdis, 27 Septembre 2018

A last minute change of plans caused us to seek a hotel room in Fairbanks. After checking hotels on the web, the Best Western Plus at Pioneer Park was the best deal. The online reservation was quick and easy.

"Very nice stay for multiple nights"
Kerry L, 24 Septembre 2018

I stayed here for a total of four nights, on three separate occasions covering two weeks in late August and early September, as I was using Fairbanks as a reconnoitering location for photography excursions to the area around Denali National Park and up north in the Brooks Range. This hotel was selected in part because of its proximity to the airport and the price, which was reasonable. I found the overall physical plant to be fine--the rooms were large, clean and well-appointed. Everything worked as advertised; including Wi-Fi. I want to make a point of recognizing the hotel staff, which was unfailingly polite, helpful and efficient. One of the reservations I had--made through a third-party site--had been messed up by the provider, but the staff at the hotel was able to resolve the problem in short order. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to stay at this location again if I travel to Fairbanks.

"Good stay"
Terry W, 11 Septembre 2018

Couldn't ask for much more. Clean, comfortable, easy to find, quiet, friendly and very helpful staff. Cheerfully accommodated our needs including keeping our luggage when we checked out and then back in 48 hours later. Nice breakfast too.

"Night before flight home"
NanaDianne, 05 Septembre 2018

There are a number of good hotels near the airport and I've stayed at 1 other, I chose this one because of the Reward program (you can choose airline points instead of free hotel stays). The staff was helpful and the room nice. Even though it was close to the airport I did not hear the planes. I wasn't able to have their breakfast because my flight departed at 5:30am and breakfast was at 6. I probably will stay here again, my daughter lives in Delta Junction; so I make at least two trips a year.

"Good basic hotel in Fairbanks "
NIKieser, 29 Août 2018

We stayed here en route from Denali to Valdez and it was a good place for a one night stopover. The location was quiet and convenient, front desk staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and breakfast was included in the rate.

"Perfect"
draco8orion, 24 Août 2018

An excellent place to stay in Fairbanks. Service and facility are top notch. We needed information and assistance fir several activities and the staff was most helgful. Room was very nice and the bed very comfortable.

"Excessive security deposit "
Philip G, 22 Août 2018

They now demand a $200 security deposit at check-in. I did not know this when I prepaid for the room online. This really spoiled my stay. What a shame, because it is a very nice place to stay. I'll be staying somewhere else on my next trip to Fairbanks.

"Good stay"
mainheating, 17 Août 2018

Breakfast was average Staff was excellent Rooms were average Shuttle service was through the cab system which was different but efficient The first room we had was noisy but the staff quickly put us in another room and we had a pleasant stay

"Secluded in the park!"
RockiesExpert, 16 Août 2018

This hotel is where my wife and I stayed for three nights in Fairbanks. We were very happy with it. The front desk staff, especially Alexa, were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the middle of Pioneer Park, and gives off an ambience of being away from the city. No buildings across the street or busy roads nearby. Just the hotel. Room was spacious and had comfortable beds, fast internet. And our request to be on the top floor on back side was honored. Breakfast is included. In sum, I'm glad I cancelled my reservation with Candlewood Suites (a much busier/noisier location) to book this hotel. You won't go wrong staying here either.

"Nice hotel. Odd, but quiet, wooded location"
OwlYaDoing, 16 Août 2018

Stayed here to start and end our two week self-guided Alaska road trip. Both stays were pleasant! We arrived after midnight on our first night here - this hotel is pretty close to the airport, but don't get it confused with the other BW property that's even closer to the airport (that's the BW "Chena" hotel and was priced much higher than this property). This hotel seemed to know when the flights/guests were coming as we were checking in with a bunch more guests who were on the same flight. Despite all the people, had a quick check-in. Rooms were basic BW - clean, comfy bed, etc. Location: It's a bit weird. It's placed on this curvy loop road in a heavily wooded area with nothing else around. I can't quite figure out why this hotel was placed in this area. Perhaps this was supposed to be a new development once upon a time and the project fell through? Anyway, although the location is odd, I appreciate it since there IS nothing around - it's quiet and it's safe. Fairbanks does have a problem with property crime, and I never felt unsafe or that my rental car would get broken into here. Breakfast: Seating area is far too small. There isn't enough seating for everyone, plus other guests were just sitting at the tables and not eating, when there clearly were people wanting to sit down. Both times we stayed here, we had to go "Gordon Ramsey" on the breakfast area and whip it into shape - the coffee maker was out, the OJ was out, etc - but to be fair, the friendly attendant quickly resolved this. I do wish this hotel had a hot tub though.

"Great place to stay"
carlray1, 13 Août 2018

This is a very nice hotel for it's price point. Excellent rooms, friendly staff. Very enjoyable stay, convenient location to all attractions. Great breakfast. We were traveling with two other couples and every one enjoyed their stay. A little inconvenient the first night, due to road closures, but so it goes when traveling. It should be repaired by now. Thank you GPS.

"Best Value of our Alaska Trip"
Kwad1, 10 Août 2018

This was the first hotel of a 2-1/2 week self-guided Alaska trip. Compared to our other Alaska lodging (which is all very expensive compared to the lower 48), this property turned out to be a great value. Located in a very quiet wooded area but does not overlook the river. The lobby was basic with the pool and breakfast area directly adjacent. Staff was very accommodating. They offered to make us a breakfast to go before our early (6 am) flightseeing tour but when I came down for it they actually had the full breakfast ready so we were able to enjoy it before leaving for the airport. The breakfast was above average for this hotel class - muffins were especially good! They use a local taxi company for their complimentary shuttle and it worked out well - about a 5-10 minute wait at the hotel or airport and you are on your way. Rooms are well furnished with comfortable beds. Only complaint is that people seemed to be coming and going in the hallways all night - probably a midsummer thing in Alaska - and rooms are not very soundproof. Otherwise, compared to other options, the value this hotel offers can't be beat!

"Central Location close to airport"
rbenn5850, 31 Juillet 2018

Easy access to all roads leading to Chyna hot spings, Denalli National Park, Hotel well appointed, friendly staff, well appointed rooms. etc.easy access to downtown fairbanks, Tourist attractions, Ice museum, Markets, Restaurants Parks, only a short trip to North Pole.

"Hidden Hideaway"
Anita H, 28 Juillet 2018

Hotel is in a wooded area so very quiet. It is within walking distance to various attractions. It is a couple of miles from downtown, but a safe walking area. Good breakfast. Indoor pool. Nice exercise room.

"A nice hotel in Fairbanks"
Tyler D, 24 Juillet 2018

This is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast was great and rooms were good. The only downside was the cab company the hotel contracts with was 20 minutes late to pick us up for our ride to the train station

"Not bad"
A9764GJdavidp, 22 Juillet 2018

The hotel was fine. The only things that needs improvement would be the eggs and the pillows.I do like the foot path across the river that leads to Pioneer park. Some good food there. The black out curtains could be better.

"Average"
bate119, 20 Juillet 2018

Clean but weathered hotel...nothing to complain about. Located next to Pioneer Park; a little hard to find, but kinda cool that it's tucked away. Close to the airport and easy access to downtown. A lot of construction going around it...as there usually is int he summer in Fairbanks.

"Near Pioneer Park"
eMBieAntwerp, 19 Juillet 2018

Easy check inn and very friendly staff ! Nice large and clean room with two double beds, fridge, microwave, coffee tea making facilities, free WIFI but no safe. Fully equipped bathroom with shower in bath, good water pressure and many amenities. Location is very good, just a 10 minutes walk to the entrance of Pioneer park, a must see ! For a BW PLUS breakfast was rather simple...plastic cutlery and carton plates and cups, therefore, 1 point subtracted from score. Had a good stay here.

"Beautiful location and outstanding service"
X5429TMannc, 17 Juillet 2018

We stayed here for 2 nights prior to our land cruise tour. I can't say enough about the friendly service and attention from all staff. Best Western has this figured out...friendly customer service is important. Neither of the resorts booked by our land cruise tour with Royal Caribbean in Fairbanks or Denali were even close to this level of customer service. Best Western Pioneer Park helped us with transportation above and beyond what was offered. At breakfast they offered us giant cinnamon rolls and had a wide range of food choices. Also, I feel a very under-recognized benefit to this hotel is the paved scenic walking/biking path across the street. It was perfect for my morning run and later we walked to downtown Fairbanks (2 1/4 miles). Beautiful setting for this hotel!

"Great Place to Stay"
DanMarCo, 16 Juillet 2018

We recently spent 4 days here while sightseeing in Fairbanks. It is exactly as described spacious rooms, very comfy beds, in the woods, great staff & breakfast is included. They have a guest laundry but beware, it's $3 to wash & $3 to dry. Very expensive in my opinion. This is summer 2018 & there is road construction all around the hotel which makes your GPS useless, but no noise from it.

"Pleasant one night stay!"
lizlubee, 10 Juillet 2018

En route to Denali NP we stayed overnight at the BW Pioneer Park Inn. The rooms were clean, quiet, and spacious with comfortable bed. The front desk staff was very helpful and offered us a complimentary airport transfer on arrival day and another to the nearby train depot the following day. We were able to take advantage of the guest laundry facilities and (standard) hot breakfast. A very good value!

"Great Location"
CanonRock, 05 Juillet 2018

Stayed here for two nights. Basic hotel, standard Best Western accommodation, but room was spacious and comfortable with basic ensuite, and the complementary breakfast was more than adequate. There was a fridge and microwave in the room and an indoor pool on the premises. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent, being relatively near the Airport and a short cab ride downtown. It is very near the train station and a four minute walk to Pioneer Park, which is well worth a visit. The hotel provides a complementary shuttle to/from the Airport and Train Station. We rang the hotel on arrival at the Airport (after midnight) and they arranged for a cab to collect us. This is not luxury accommodation, but I would recommend it and we were very pleased with our stay.

"Quiet location"
SDAnnie, 30 Mai 2018

We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Alaska. There are two BW in Fairbanks and they both have 'Chena' in their descriptions. This one is a little more difficult to find if you don't have a GPS. It is hidden in a circular park area with a small sign. Quiet location away from busy roads. Breakfast area is very small and crowded. We ate in an overflow area. Elevator is kind of scary with strange noises. This stay was mid way through our trip so I needed to do some laundry. I have never paid that much for use of a motels machines. We stayed at Wasilla BW a few nights later and their machines were literally 1/3 the price of Fairbanks BW. Our room was adequate, although we had to ask for ice bag, and wash cloths. They were not in our room. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

"Two Nights in Valdez, Alaska"
a10billr, 25 Mai 2018

The weather was cold and wet. The hotel was warm and dry with inside access to a restaurant overlooking the harbor. The breakfasts were tasty with a good selection of items. The hotel was next door to the Stan Stevens Glacier Tour dock

"Satisfied Customer"
Heidi B, 24 Mai 2018

The staff was courtesy and willing to help with the air conditioning issue, felt like a sauna in our room but was able to get a fan to help alleviate the problem. We had a large group stay at the hotel and we were treated amazingly.

"Pleasant Fairbanks experience"
Rosemary F, 23 Mai 2018

Not sure what we were expecting in a Best Western hotel in Fairbanks, but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and quiet, the breakfast was actually very good, and the staff was courteous and helpful. We really couldn't have asked for anything more.

"Good location and value"

"What an experience"
930waynel5, 19 Mai 2018

We booked this hotel through our travel agent in Australia for an additional day in Fairbanks before a Cruise tour. We arrived at 12.10am and got a taxi to hotel. On arrival the driver got all our bags out and took them in hotel foyer, talked to the receptionist and then walked out saying goodbye and left. When I told receptionist that I hadn't paid the driver she said that hotel pays him. She then showed us where hot buffet breakfast would be available in the morning. When I told her our booking was for room only she again said hotel covers it. We then went to our King suite which was massive, enough room for another king size bed. After breakfast we checked out and receptionist said they would get us a shuttle to the airport to meet our pre cruise representative to go to their hotel. The receptionist said that their hotel was on way to airport and they would drop us off there instead of airport. A taxi arrived and took us to hotel and again took all our bags instead and went to go. When I asked him about payment he said that Best Western had already paid him. I am not sure what Best Western don't do but they make sure there guest is totally satisfied with everything. Highly recommend hotel and will tell my travel agent about all the extra services provided and suggest she tell her clients all about it.

"Typical excellent Best Western!"
hotgrandmacwt, 16 Mai 2018

This hotel is well located and very nicely maintained. Rooms are spacious and clean. Upscale decorations and furniture. Excellent breakfast which included eggs and sausage. Good coffee. Nice indoor pool. Good internet. The desk staff is friendly and helpful. We give this hotel our strongest recommendation!

"Excellent experience"
annevH6433PV, 24 Avril 2018

In town for 5 days/ 4 nights on a business trip. Selected this motel about 6 weeks before hand via internet based solely on price and location/proximity to my appointments. What a treat. Super clean, very nice breakfast area, (although the coffee was REALLY strong and there weren't other choices available like some other BW hotels I've stayed at), GREAT room, comfortable bed, nearly soundproof walls, good internet speed, super friendly staff, quiet, everything you can imagine that would be good, was not just good, it was great.

"Great breakfast"
TataandPapa, 01 Avril 2018

Had a third floor room. It was quiet. The breakfast was awesome. The choices were great. We stayed for 6 days and there was plenty variety. It was always full and kept very clean. You needed to ask for a full clean but once we understood that it was rootless. The desk was always quick to answer any questions and helpful with suggestions on hiking areas.

"Well run Hotel"
Barbara C, 28 Mars 2018

We were pleasantly surprised with this Hotel. The staff was pleasant, accommodating and helpful. The rooms were comfortable albeit a bit on the stuffy side, (we opened the windows on a zero degree night). Breakfast buffet was more than adequate. We recommend this hotel for those looking for a good mid-range hotel.

"Good hotel for the price"
tinghf t, 26 Mars 2018

In Fairbanks for Aurora watching and stayed at BestWestern Plus Pioneer Park. A pretty good hotel, location is relatively isolated but close to everything by car anyway. Love the tub room, unfortunately we don't have time to use it more overall, have some minor stain but probably as expected as it's been in service for a while it seem, breakfast is good and they have gym and pool which is great for kids. Overall a quite positive experience.

"Good Accommodation "
TimRG1, 25 Mars 2018

This is new and clean accommodation 3 minutes from the airport. The food is average, we were on a group and the it was cold by the time it was served. However I had the taco soup at the bar and that was great. The staff are friendly. You will need transport to get into town as nothing is close except the airport. Good value and clean and warm.

"Rooms very hot "
Rhonda D, 13 Mars 2018

Stayed in March and the rooms were too hot to get a decent night's sleep. Had the thermostat on the coldest setting but there was no cool air. Front desk clerk tried to help but said the hotel didn't have the glycol system up this time of year. Apparently others had complained as she asked if I was the one who just called for a fan. When I asked for two fans (one for each bed) she said they only had 7 for the entire hotel. Obviously this is an issue so the hotel should be prepared to accommodate the comfort of their guests. I'll stay at the Hampton next time as I know their system works correctly regardless of the season.

"Very adequate hotel in Fairbanks"
Philip F, 13 Mars 2018

There are not many choices of hotels in this small town in central Alaska but this hotel was very adequate. The indoor pool was nice and warm, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast was quite good. I would no doubt stay here again.

"Always a good place to stay"
Ernest W, 09 Mars 2018

This hotel is always a great place to stay in Fairbanks. The staff are nice and very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The hotel is located close to most of everything in town but yet located in a very quite little area all by it's self.

"Quiet and clean"
Cyd827, 09 Mars 2018

Looking for a reasonable place near the Chena Hot Springs, we stayed at the Best Western. Little did we realize that we were an hour's drive away! It is located in the middle of Fairbanks, is clean and offers free parking and plug-ins. The complimentary breakfast was standard fare, and kept well-stocked, including 24/7 coffee. Our room had 2 queen beds, refrigerator and microwave, and large flat screen TV. Since it was well off (approximately 1/4 to ½ mile) the main road, it was very quiet. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. There was a pool and fitness room available. It is located about 20 minutes from the Fairbanks airport and a complimentary shuttle (either Yellow Cab or Eagle) will take you back and forth. A car is a must; our rental was with Enterprise on Sourth Cushman Street since they pick you up. (As a side note: if you rent the car at the airport, you have to return it to the airport. Same with the South Cushman Street location.) Walmart, other stores, restaurants and fast food locations are a 10-15 minute drive.

"LOOK NO FURTHER!"
Neil H, 04 Mars 2018

Best Western Pioneer Park has become my hands-down choice for overnight stays in Fairbanks. From check-in to check-out I can muster not a single complaint. Kyle at the front desk is most accommodating and helpful. The room was clean & neat and internet fast. Breakfast is a super assortment of enough hot and cold choices to give your day a good start. Theresa must be commended for working diligently in keeping the breakfast area tidy and stocked. What a hard-working, responsible lady...always impresses me and I tell her so. We enjoyed two UAF hockey games at Carlson Center, just a short walk from the hotel. Oh, the indoor pool was a nice treat, too. Overall, I can honestly recommend Best Western Pioneer Park as my top Fairbanks choice.

"A little disappointed..."
Kevin V, 02 Mars 2018

We stay at Best Western quite often (members of the rewards program). When we arrived late on Feb 25th, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby area was clean and well kept. After entering our room, it, too, was clean, well kept, and comfortable. The next morning, we hit the complimentary breakfast. The food was very good and the person maintaining the breakfast bar did a great job keeping the food trays filled. During our stay, the front desk staff and the person maintaining the breakfast bar did a great job. Where our disappointment came in was in regards to housekeeping. When we returned back to the room on Monday (arrived back to our room late in the afternoon), our room had NOT been serviced (bed was not made, garbage was not emptied, and bathroom not tended to). To be honest, we have never experienced that before. We had a late start that first day and had the ‘Do Not Disturb' sign out until we left at 9am (when we left, we made sure to take the ‘Do Not Disturb' sign off the door). On Tuesday, the room was cleaned, but wash cloths and the bathroom ‘mat' (to place on the floor for when you get out of the shower) were missing (not replaced). When we called to inquire with the front desk, they immediately came to the room with both items and apologized for the inconvenience. Outside of the poor housekeeping service, we really did enjoy our stay. The hotel is located in an area that is easy to navigate to various parts of Fairbanks, it is in a nice, secluded area, and, as mentioned, the front desk and breakfast bar staff were great!

"Great place! Highly recommend!"
pomfan31313, 26 Février 2018

This hotel is out of the way and I believe in a great location! The people have been very friendly, and, our room is great! They have a great complimentary hot breakfast. This is our second stay, but, won't be our last!!!

"comfortable, friendly and enjoyable"
Muralto60, 17 Février 2018

As far as hotels go, this Best Western is unpretentious and standard. What stands out, however is the very friendly atmosphere and service, where one made feel comfortable and welcome. I was given a very comfortable king room with fire place. This was particularly welcome after a long trip from the East Coast and arriving in the early morning hours. The taxi service from the airport is complimentary and the breakfast buffet is plentiful standard American fare. The eating area is a little small when all guests show up at the same time. I very much enjoyed my stay.

"Really is the Best.. "
Courtney P, 26 Janvier 2018

Bed was amazingly comfortable! The room was clean, good size, warm and I would definitely stay again if I was to return! It may not be in the centre of town but it's not too far in a cab (about $10) The staff helpful and friendly!

"Comfy Beds and Clean Room"
280bridgetj, 04 Janvier 2018

The beds were super comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. We were happy to have the grab and go breakfast as we missed the breakfast in the morning. The staff ensured our safe arrival to the hotel and gave us explicit directions how to meet our ride. They also provided fast service back to the airport the next day.

"still need improvements"
noah808, 27 Décembre 2017

I spent almost 8 hours driving from Anchorage to fairbanks. Was so looking forward to doing a 2 mile run on the treadmill, than going for a swim. Sign says pool closed until the 21. Than the sign changed the next day pool not open until the 26th. so I was never able to use the pool which was one of the reasons I stay at this hotel.

"Cozy friendly place"
AliceLaBarre, 21 Décembre 2017

We have stayed here other times and again now for Christmas and New Years weeks. Staff caring and friendly, many breakfast options. There are cookies at front desk to welcome you, free copying if need, pool and plugins for cars.

"An unknown gem"
calystas2017, 20 Décembre 2017

This place was extremely nice! Rooms were comfortable and I would highly recommend the suites because the jucuzzi tub is extremely worth the money! The staff here is so sweet and is happy to adjust to your needs and I would definitely return here. If you're looking for a nice, well priced room in Fairbanks this is your spot!

"Good Value"
edwardj152, 27 Novembre 2017

Stayed at this motel on our recent trip the Fairbanks. The overall experience was good. The room was clean, the staff very helpful and friendly and it was a good value. There were a few things that take away from the overall experience which were the bathroom sink was in the main body of the room and not in the bathroom. The drain in the tub was slow and they use soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers instead of individual bottles. Other than that a good place to stay.

"Great for the price"
I4383DJwilliamb, 20 Novembre 2017

Tucked away. very peaceful, wonderful staff, nice breakfast. Wemt up on business and wanted a pool and jacuzzi - there are few options with this so we found this had a pool and we could get a room with jacuzzi for much cheaper here.

"Perfect !"
VOODOO-THANG, 17 Novembre 2017

Right from check in to check out everything was perfect. Great breakfast set up to top it all off, fresh and plentiful. Its a little off the main drag but well worth it. Rooms and staff will not let you down!

"Fantastic Hotel & Staff"
thomasfH8467YS, 16 Novembre 2017

Everything about his hotel was great! It was clean, the staff very accommodating and professional and the location was perfect! The breakfasts were great and our family enjoyed the pool multiple times. I would definitely stay at the Best Western Pioneer Park again!

"A great value!"
kayladoscope, 07 Novembre 2017

A very accommodating hotel and a great price! Clean! Breakfast is great! Indoor pool was very nice as well. A bit off in its own area of the city, so you can't walk to much. Hotel also offers a very helpful shuttle to and from airport.

"Great as a Business Hotel"
ozcarr1, 29 Octobre 2017

Stayed for six straight nights. They provide free taxi ride to and from the Fairbanks Airport. Free breakfast. Helpful staff. Quiet room and had a really good sleep most of the time. I suggest you book in advance to take advantage of cheaper rates! I hope these help you in making the right choice for your Fairbanks hotel.

"bed sheets and pillow covers should be changed for the new customers"
400jianz, 25 Octobre 2017

When I and my wife checked in BW room first day, we the bed sheets and pillow covers did not changed because there were some lady hairs on the pillow covers. When I called the room service for this issue, the service lady told us that the hairs could be left on the brush. But when we checked the bed sheets, we found more lady hairs. My wife felt sick on the sheets. The good news is she entered the room together with me, otherwise she may think that some woman slept on the bed before her.

"great stay"
Priscilla M, 22 Octobre 2017

Family vacation to alaska and we spent two night at the best western very nice beds and good pillows and good internet. We had a great warm breakfast in the morning with also lots of muffins and cereals to choose from. Nothing bad to say about this place we had a great stay. They had a gym and a pool as well.

"Just ok..."
AitutakiGirl, 20 Octobre 2017

This hotel was ok, but not quite as nice as most as expected. It was clean however, the rooms were very small. The bathroom was also tiny, so not a lot of space to move around. We had a king room. It is also located down a long somewhat deserted road away from anything else, and didn't feel very safe after dark. I probably would have stayed at the other BW if we had known in advance.

"Excellent stay, good breakfast, and quiet location."
P1843KPmichaels, 17 Octobre 2017

Overall, the stay was really nice. Nice quiet location, not a lot of noise (if any) from traffic. Nice warm breakfast was provided until 9am (10am on weekends). The rooms felt clean and spacious. Almost felt like being at home.

"A good place to stay"
Ernest W, 17 Octobre 2017

We have stayed at this Best Western many times and have always been happy with the stay. The stay are friendly and helpful. This last stay there was new clerk staff, at least new to us and didn't not seem up to speed as the many other staff we have had experiences with in the past. But maybe they were new, but they were friendly. The hotel is out of the busy area of town but yet close to just about anywhere you would need to go to in Fairbanks. If you need at place to stay in Fairbanks, I would choose the hotel.

"Good place to stay"
G620EJnathanb, 16 Octobre 2017

This hotel is hidden away from main highway so you don't hear any traffic noise. It is fairly priced and the staff is great to work with. The only problem I have is this survey requires me to put in 200 words when I only have so many i need to say. So the rest will just be me rambling on about this stupid requirement. If you want a good place at fair price for this area then this is the place to stay.

"Perfect place for me in Fairbanks, AK"
Pamela W, 15 Octobre 2017

My second stay at this location, clean, well appointed rooms, great quiet location, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Close to other places and attractions. I will return to this BW when in the area again.

"quiet place to stay"
Aleatha M, 15 Octobre 2017

This hotel is tucked away from the noise of the city and that makes for a good nights sleep. I was out doing things during the day while visiting my college student and all I wanted was to sleep. I got exactly what I wanted there which was peace and quiet. The bed was comfy and the room was clean.

"Quiet location"
OHMike64, 10 Octobre 2017

The hotel location is both an asset and a liability. It is located in an area that appears to be planned for development, but other than the hotel, that never happened. It is within convenient driving distance of many things, but the only thing that is really within walking distance is Pioneer Park. This is great during the summer season, but from mid-September-May, Pioneer Park is open, but all the businesses and attractions are closed. No complaints about the staff or the room. Breakfast is great and slightly different every day(3-night stay). Off season rates make this hotel a real bargain.

"Perfect!"
O5276HMamberh, 10 Octobre 2017

This hotel had everything we needed. Staff gave great directions to the cultural center and restaurants in the area. Thanks for a great stay! I would certainly recommend this Hotel to friends and Family.

"Good choice at off-season prices"
Chris G, 02 Octobre 2017

I live in Alaska and am often underwhelmed by lodging options here. I love travelling to Fairbanks and finally made a trip without my dog and had a chance to stay here. I would have absolutely no reservation about staying here again. Strangely, the best part of my stay was the breakfast, which was probably the best I've ever experienced at a hotel. Pros: clean, comfortable, not as tired as other options in the area. Cons: small toilet (sorry 'bout cha), television options are lacking (common for Alaska though don't know why?), not sure I totally agree with the decision to make every hygiene option only available via push dispenser (at least give us the tiny bar of soap c'mon' meow). Please keep in mind I had a positive experience mkay? These reviews tend to get skewed to the nit-picky, and I would absolutely stay here again. Nice job BW "Plus." Golden Heart City, holla!

"Great hotel Great Value"
April P, 25 Septembre 2017

Love staying here. Front desk staff very professional and helpful. VERY clean. Helped us change rooms quickly and easily for extended stay. Heated pool if you have time to use it. Great lobby with very nice seating area to kill time while waiting.

"First Night for Fairbanks Trip"
Tet1001, 25 Septembre 2017

I stayed this hotel for first night. My flight arrival time was so late(mid night), so I requested shuttle bus. They don't have shuttle bus, but they have free taxi(only two taxi brand , need to pre call before use ). When I called hotel, they explained very kindly. Their hotel is a little bit far from airport(10-15min), but there is value to stay for kind staff and clean room.

"Overnight stay"
101Holidayer, 24 Septembre 2017

We decided to leave our travel trailer in Tok and drive to Fairbanks and stay overnight. Best Western is always our first choice if there is one available with a comparable rate. This hotel was great, front desk staff offered us an upgrade with our best western card. Of course we took it. Our only complaint was the area it was in. Out of the way and not easy to find. The only restaurant within walking distance is a buffet. Our upgraded room turned out to be right over the air condictioning/heating unit outside. We did not realize that until we opened our window to go to bed so never asked to be moved. Breakfast was great.

"nice"
Todd B, 18 Septembre 2017

Hotel is close to business but far enough away to be in a quiet place.Good shopping with in a 10 minute drive. The bed was extremely nice. Hotel had maps of Fairbanks available which made navigation around town much easier.

"Nice"
Creed16, 17 Septembre 2017

Very nice hotel in a nice secluded location. Very clean. The beds were very comfy in fact the best we have had this whole trip. Breakfast was a good selection with eggs and bacon. Pool looked nice although we didn't bring suits. Quiet location off by itself, but only minutes to food and stores. We even enjoyed watching the Northern lights from our room! Would stay here again.

"Nice place to stay"
rdb1983, 13 Septembre 2017

Rooms were clean and nice. Hotel staff was nice and helpful we checked in way early without a problem. Breakfast was normal hotel breakfast. It's off the beaten path so it's nice and quiet. O would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area

"Good choice for Fairbanks"
Biophilia123, 11 Septembre 2017

Well maintained hotel with friendly staff. Good location. Comfortable bed. Hot breakfast included. A bit difficult to find, and the signs do not specify "Pioneer Park" to distinguish it from another BW, but this was not a significant problem. (On our visit Room 111 seemed to have a chronic odor problem, but other rooms are fine.) We found that all Alaskan hotels seem high-priced compared to the lower 48.

"Nice Stay"
David R, 08 Septembre 2017

Nice quiet neighborhood away from traffic noise. The hotel was fairly easy to find. Hotel is neat and clean. We were glad that they had washer and dryer for us to do laundry. Breakfast was good. Rates were reasonable.

"Close to main hub but out of the line of noise."
Christine V, 06 Septembre 2017

The staff is FABULOUS !! So pleasant and helpful. The front desk young lady even printed our boarding passes for us without batting an eye. Breakfast was great. Clean area. Good selection and kept replenished. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.

"Spacious Room In Woodsy Location"
Mammoth45, 04 Septembre 2017

The queen bed suite was very spacious and cozy. The couch was comfy and faced a gas fireplace that could be used to warm up the room if needed. The window faced quiet woods and was very peaceful. The included breakfast is a huge bonus so that you can eat before you are on your way for the days activities. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Fairbanks. It was centrally located to everything we needed to do there.

"LIKED IT!"
B3670CDjamesp, 04 Septembre 2017

We liked this place. Clean and quiet. A little odd to have the sink in the sleeping area, but a large surrounding countertop filled our needs. There was a small laundry area (2 washers/2dryers) that came in handy.

"Reasonable hotel in Fairbanks"
Dale H, 01 Septembre 2017

Visited with a large group, 4 rooms. This hotel is in a wooed area across the river (a short walk across a foorbridge) from Pioneer Park. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The pool is through windows from the lobby. The area is kind of secluded but not far from everything. The breakfast is the usual, so-so but they could use more tables during the peak 8-8:30 rush. The staff is friendly and helpful. Ask them to wake you if the aurora is happening.

"Nice Hotel with a Few Quirks"
HenryHHenry, 31 Août 2017

We stayed in Fairbanks for two nights after a longer trip in and around Denali National Park. Fairbanks is 2-3 hours northeast of Denali and we had flown into Fairbanks International Airport. We spent the last two days exploring the Fairbanks area. The hotel is billed as newly remodeled, but there's only so much they can do with an existing property short of tearing it out (or down) and starting over. We got a king room which was spacious and comfortable. There's a fridge and microwave, a desk and chair, a nice easy chair, dresser and large TV. Lots room around the bed. The sink is in the larger room with the toilet and tub in a small bathroom. We ran into one big issue the first night. There was a persistent tapping or dripping noise coming from the wall behind the bed. We didn't really notice it until after we'd gone to bed, so I didn't say anything to management that evening. I did tell the desk clerk the next morning and he promised to hold us another room for when we got back from the day's activities. He said it was probably the pipes in the wall and not everyone is bothered by it. They came through with a king suite, similar to the first room only with a couch instead of easy chair and more room all around. No noise in this room. Be sure to listen carefully when you get a room there. I have no idea how many rooms area affected. The breakfast is pretty good, though they don't have nearly enough tables. There's a large high table with stools in the lobby that takes a lot of space. I'd suggest they take that out and replace it with a couple of more tables. The food is good. They have the usual for these kind of hotels: scrambled eggs (with or without cheese and peppers), sausages and/or bacon, a waffle maker (they need two. it was always busy). Coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, some fruit. No complaints beyond the size of the breakfast room. There's a pool, but no hot tub. We didn't partake. The hotel is very isolated. It's in the middle of a loop road that goes through a forested area. There are no restaurants or stores within short walking distance. You really do need a car.

"First visit to Fairbanks. Friendly, clean and good value."
Shell1766, 30 Août 2017

Stayed Aug 22-25 in a king suite with daughter and granddaughters. Plenty of hot water. Room was spacious and quiet. The pool was nice because not all the hotels in the area have one. The water temp of pool was perfect. The front desk staff was friendly and always visible when I came into the lobby. Breakfast area is bit small but breakfast had typical variety and again the staff was always making sure tables were clean. they also were constantly restocking as things became depleted.

"Tucked away in the woods"
Monique D, 30 Août 2017

This Best Western is quietly tucked away in the woods, but located conveniently close to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and an easy ride to good restaurants and downtown Fairbanks. The rooms are comfortable, but the maid service was lacking some and the pool was on the cold side.

"Bad Stay"
Sundaramoorthy P, 30 Août 2017

Its not worth the money. The Rooms were dusty.. The pillows and bed covers were smelly, clearly they haven't been washed for a while.would not stay.Avoid staying there if possible. we had booked this hotel based on our stay at other locations.

"Marginal at best "
sanjuan1972, 29 Août 2017

We stayed here 3 nights and had issues everyday. Dryers weren't working, staff did not fill the shower soap any of the days we were there and it was empty when we arrived. Breakfast was late one day and the other 2 days we had to wait for the staff to keep up with the guests. Front desk staff showed no knowledge of the local area overall a disappointing visit.

"Comfy, good price, great location"
827tammiec, 21 Août 2017

We spent 3 nights here at the beginning of a family trip. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty. Conveniently located for access to several major roads in Fairbanks, and very near the Alaska Salmon Bake buffet. We would recommend it!

"Best Western is the best hotel in Fairbanks Alaska friendly staff clean and helpful make you feel at home :)"
Michelle A, 18 Août 2017

Best hotel in Fairbanks Alaska so friendly and helpful staff make you feel at home :) Breakfast was good and different every day way staying there a week so that was nice :) rooms are clean and bed was very comfortable.

"Family Fun! Indoor pool, complimentary breakfast, walk to Pioneer Park!"
Ashley L, 15 Août 2017

We stayed 3 nights at this location on a family vacation to Fairbanks. The check-in process was very quick, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There were delicious, fresh cookies from The Cookie Jar at the desk, and tea and coffee available. The property was very clean and quiet, set in a wooded area on the Chena River. We stayed in the King room with the pull-out sofa, which was perfect for us and our two small children. Our room was clean, quiet, and spacious. There is an indoor pool, which isn't huge, but our kids loved it. There is a complimentary breakfast. It's pretty typical; cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, pastries, muffins, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, potatoes, juice, tea, and coffee. We loved the quiet, peaceful location of this hotel. There is a walking path along the Chena River. It is about a five minute walk to Pioneer Park. This hotel is a great value compared with the many other over-priced options in Fairbanks. We would definitely stay at this property again.

"Great Everything!"
PAHeather151, 15 Août 2017

Stayed here prior to joining the Princess Tour. Added 2 extra days to our trip. This hotel was clean, great breakfast, nice indoor pool, free parking and our bed was very comfortable. The staff was helpful and nice. I can not say enough nice things about this hotel. I would stay here again. It you are doing a Princess tour I suggest: 2 extra days in Fairbanks. Rent a car after you arrive at the airport. Check out the College, Alaska Pipeline and stuff in town on one day. The other day drive up to Chena Hot Springs. About an hour drive, but worth it. Just make sure you have plans to get to the Princess Hotel on your start day with them. Both Princess and Best Western will only transfer to and from airport. We dropped the rental car off the night prior and got the taxi service the hotel uses (ask them before leaving) to go back to the Best Western for the night. Then called the taxi service in the morning to move us to the Princess hotel, but you need to let Princess know so you can get a refund for transfer fees that you paid for as part of your package. Then you will be responsible for paying the taxi that morning for the transfer. We had an early excursion booked and everything worked out. Princess stored our luggage until we got back later in the day.

"Great price for short stay"
Cindy W, 11 Août 2017

We stayed here a full day to catch our breath before catching the train to Wasilla. Our plane from the east coast of Virginia landed at a particularly crazy hour of 1:30am, so we actually had to secure a room for 2 nights before we traveled south. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfy and the breakfast ample. It was a reasonable drive from the airport and the price per room was much better than hotels on the main drag. We would go there again if visiting the area. It's tucked away and off the beaten path. We were lucky to see a huge rabbit just through the trees while getting in our car.

"Nice alternative to Princess Hotel"
scottkA5818VV, 10 Août 2017

This little hotel is close to central Fairbanks, but worth the drive. Free breakfast and indoor pool were a nice addition. Friendly staff and free parking also. It's also a short walk from Pioneer Park where you can go to a salmon bake and other activities.

"Great Location"
Wendy K, 08 Août 2017

We loved the location. It was walking distance to so many things we wanted to see in Fairbanks, especially the Pioneer Park. Quick and easy to drive out of there too if going elsewhere for the day. Nice and quite there at night. There is an indoor swimming room. Breakfast was just ok but we did take some free fruits for our walks each day. Our bed was comfortable and I loved the pillows. So it was an average BW but a great location.

"So disappointed"
Akziege, 08 Août 2017

This used to be our favorite hotel in Fairbanks, but now it is just being run into the ground. This location is in a really convenient spot for us, but due to the cleanliness of our recent stay we will most likely never return

"Nice location"
ChinaGal_57, 07 Août 2017

Fairbanks is really easy to get around and this hotel is very centrally located. As a BW Rewards Diamond member, I was upgraded to a queen jacuzzi suite which was very nice. The pool area is very nice and there is an exercise room. Breakfast was very standard but everything was replenished and clean. The coffee was out of a machine which I thought was sad.

"Very poor service!"
854janiced, 05 Août 2017

The room was never cleaned while we were there. The trash was not emptied. The bed was not made until we asked for it to be made. No linens. Had to ask for them. Dirty linens left in room. Trash not emptied. Found a hair in my breakfast.

"Nick"
Naresh P, 03 Août 2017

We travel seward to fairbank and stayed many hotels on way but we really like this bestwestern because of clean, quite and great customer service.i will preffer to every one and my freibd who is on the way to alaska.

"Picturesque Footbridge"
BanjoBaba, 01 Août 2017

The Best Western Pioneer Park is nestled in a forest that shields it from the city and provides a 360 degree view of greenery. A lovely footbridge over the Chena River takes you to Pioneer Park. This BW has a friendly, caring staff and serves a pretty good breakfast. It is the only place I stay when I'm visiting Fairbanks!

"Family stop"
jrQ9084GZ, 01 Août 2017

Hotel was great, nice and friendly staff. Breakfast had enough options for he picky eaters in my family. Rooms were clean and well stocked. Enjoyed the pool. Liked the locations. Made you feel like you were in a cabin in the woods.

"Probably wouldn't stay again unless we needed the location"
mailstop, 27 Juillet 2017

The first night no bar soap for the bath and the shampoo dispenser was empty. Curtains didn't close well to seal out the light at night. Bathroom fan was either not working or doesn't exist, so there was a lot of dampness after a shower. No hair dryer. Good breakfast. Sink outside bathroom. Front desk personnel were nice enough, but you can tell they're not tourism-oriented.

"First time being disapponted by a Best Western Hotel"
342shawng, 26 Juillet 2017

On the positive side, the bed in each room we stayed in was incredible. The location is fantastic! On the negative side: 1. We booked over the phone directly with the hotel. Our hotel booking was not as told to us over the phone. 2. A premium amenity in our room was not functioning properly (the amenity we specifically booked the room for). Due to availability, we were unable to change rooms. We were told we would receive BW Rewards points valued at $50. Once home, we realized that we were given rewards points for $50 (being 500 points), not points that could be redeemed for a $50 reward. 3. We stayed in multiple rooms at this hotel and there was a problem from major (previously mentioned) to minor (from a faulty bathroom light and remote to items not fully clean.

"Secluded Location "
Chris H, 24 Juillet 2017

The property is in town but in a wooded area. You feel like you are in the wilderness but only a 10 minute walk to Pioneer Park. The room was clean and nicely appointed. They have an indoor pool and free breakfast. The breakfast area is not large, so it can get a little tight during busy periods. It is a good option for an out of the way location without being out of the way.

"Excellent Experience"
Pamela V, 19 Juillet 2017

After being on the road for 50 days and driving 8500 miles I needed the five day break I took at this Best Western. I chose a suite just too have a little luxury, and I'm glad I made that decision. It was worth every penny. Beautiful suite, lovely secluded location with birch and pine trees, very nice facility, great staff. I got the rest I sought and enjoyed my stay.

"Great place to stay in Fairbanks"
83kathleenn, 17 Juillet 2017

This hotel was close to everything yet, it did not have the city feel. There were great breakfast choices and wonderful, helpful staff. We were celebrating a special event and the Hotel staff was instrumental in getting flowers placed in the room before our arrival. If we ever travel to Alaska again, we will stay here for sure. The beds were also exceptionally comfortable.

"Alaskan Vacation"
775janelle, 16 Juillet 2017

This hotel is located in a sucledued, wooded area in the hear of Fairbanks, AK. It includes hot daily breakfast. It has a nice size fitness center and a indoor pool. Rooms need to deep cleaned , Hallway walls painted, air conditioners in rooms serviced.

"Pioneer Park Inn"
E997IOdannyc, 13 Juillet 2017

This is a nice quiet place. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room we had was nice. There is a local brewery (Hoodoo) down the road a bit and it's close to Pioneer Park. Parking was good and although the day never seemed to end, we got some good sleep away from the California scene. We didn't have breakfast or anything, but that's because we slept in. We have family here in Fairbanks, but I'd stay here again. It's easy to find from the Airport with your GPS. For all of my Not Sure answers below, they didn't apply to our stay, so I can't honestly say anything about those. But, the kids in the indoor pool seemed to be having a great time. So I imagine it's pretty kid friendly

"Fairbanks"
margaritasnob, 12 Juillet 2017

Clean. Quiet. Very helpful, friendly front desk staff. Excellent blackout curtains. Good breakfast selection. Comfortable beds. Good wifi. $10 taxi ride to downtown which is very close. Only 15 minutes to the airport. Very convenient location.

"Great Hotel"
davidtL7126ZR, 09 Juillet 2017

The room was very roomy, comfortable and quiet. We loved the fireplace! The breakfast one one of the best I've had for a complimentary breakfast at a hotel. Lots of yummy food choices. There could have been more seating, but that's typical. Overall it was a great stay.

"Nice hotel"
ed1, 08 Juillet 2017

I found Fairbanks hard to define, and that reflects in what I thought of this hotel. We had real difficulty finding it and it is in a fairly odd part of town, near the airport and railroad depot. There is nothing much nearby the hotel, so you'd be stuck without a car. Room itself was fine - 2 beds, nice bath, sink in the room rather than the bathroom. Clean. The pool was nice, although chemicals quite strong. There was a useful laundry. Reception was helpful in helping me make trip pick-up arrangements. Breakfast the next morning was standard cereal, toast etc. There was a waffle maker but too much of a queue for us to bother. Given the size of the hotel there are very few tables, so it got a bit crowded. Found Fairbanks difficult to get round. Kept getting lost! Visited the other best western which seemed in a much nicer location

"Perfect"
alioop7, 07 Juillet 2017

Feels like you are in the middle of no where! Rooms are up to date with great blackout curtains. They paid for our taxi to our excursion starting place. Breakfast is standard small hotel with waffles and scrambled eggs and sausage.

"Nice hotel"
David S, 06 Juillet 2017

The hotel is surrounded by trees which provides for some peace and quiet during the 20 plus hours of sunlight. Nothing extravagant but hotel does have an indoor pool and air conditioning. Check site for flash sale rates when booking your hotel. Plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes.

"Quiet hotel"
Jeffrey S, 06 Juillet 2017

This your typical Alaska hotel. Don't expect all the extras found in the lower 48. It is surrounded by trees and hard to hear any highway traffic. Family appreciated the quiet after long days traveling across Alaska. Worth the stay.

"Terrible Stay - Worse of the lot"
619harshk, 05 Juillet 2017

Entire hotel AC was not working but we were not informed at time of check in. At 1 in the night when we figured out the issue and approached the front desk was informed that there are no options. No standby fans were available. No reason why guests were not informed at time of check in. We checked out next day even though we were booked for another night. We did not sleep a min in the night and the whole experience was nightmare.

"Clean and Comfortable"
Jeffnudi, 27 Juin 2017

We enjoyed our stay at the best Western Pioneer Park in Fairbanks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and well maintained. The location was perfect for us.I would not hesitate to stay here again,

"Very nice rooms"
HOLLYCOUNTRY, 25 Juin 2017

Stayed in the king suite. Large room, king size bed, sofa bed, fire place. Very clean, comfortable beds, even the sofa bed where I slept, the breakfast was good. Great staff. Can't say much more, came in late and left early.

"Good Hotel"
patmE9291QT, 24 Juin 2017

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was very comfortable, clean and not noisy. In a remote area right across from the Pioneer Park. Easy access to Fairbanks and it was very quiet, no airplanes. It also has an indoor pool that looked very clean!! Worth the money, with the free breakfast.

"Better then good. Just Best!"
Bogdan K, 23 Juin 2017

Good silent location. Close to Pioneer Park. In the Wood. What can you expect more for Alaskan overnight. Good qualifiwd Staff. Night shift and in the morning too! Good breakfast but too many people to sit and eat comfortably...

"Great room, Excellent service and employees. Fresh breakfast"
Birdylady, 23 Juin 2017

Well, my title about covers it all. We came in just after midnight and checked out by noon that day. The employee's were friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast was the freshest of any hotel I've ever enjoyed. The hotel provides transportation from the airport by paying the cab when they drop you off. First I've experienced free transport that way. We used the hotel laundry room which worked great and was affordable. The hotel was nice and quiet which was excellent as we were exhausted.

"Truly Spectacular"
bmcconaster, 21 Juin 2017

Me and my husband went on a cruise and stayed 3 nights at this best western. Words cannot explain how beautiful it is! The hotel is surrounded by woods and sweet birds wake you up in the morning. With our rental car we zipped around town, taking no less that 3 mins before hitting downtown Fairbanks! We were concerned about the light however the staff explained how to use the black out curtains which were a little hard to find. We were extremely pleased with our stay here. Kyle and Heather were just fantastic! Fabulous Price for Product!

"Excellent location in Fairbanks"
Anton H, 18 Juin 2017

This hotel is an excellent location in Fairbanks. Unfortunately there is no safe in the room. And there was no housekeeping on the second day. They forgot to do the room. But it can happen. In total we are satisfied with the stay there and we can recommend the hotel.

"Rescued in Alaska"
E5143CJrobinm, 18 Juin 2017

My previous booking in Alaska turned out to be rough camping - nothing what I was promised via the internet. The guy I was dealing with was no longer there - so I ended up at the Best Western! Loved it. Everyone was super friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

"Wonderful staff"
madwriter, 15 Juin 2017

I can't say enough about how good the front desk staff is. They are not only pleasant but also very helpful. We would stay here again for that reason alone. The breakfast buffet is also quite good. The cheesy scrambled eggs were a nice addition to the basic BW menu. Beds are comfortable, tho the housekeeping is a bit spotty. We had to ask for fresh sheets/towels after several days.

"Avoid at all costs"
Team_FE, 12 Juin 2017

Checked in on Friday only to find a room that obviously housekeeping had skipped. The room overall was filthy, towels were dirty, as was the sheets, and the whirlpool tub looked nothing like the one online and it was dirty as well. Multiple calls to the front desk resulted in nothing, we were told a manager wasn't available as well. I was also charged a $200 deposit since it was booked thru hotels dot, well you know. Couldn't find that in writing anywhere though that it was a policy. After one night of a filthy room, no bedding for the foldout bed, and unable to shower with the nasty towels, we gave up and left and returned Sunday to checkout. This is the short version and I'd love for a manager to contact me.

"Very good. Away from downtown but as Long as you know"
OWD1, 10 Juin 2017

This hotel was excellent. The comments in trip advisor were helpful. It is away from downtown. And the breakfast area is too much small. Knowing these things I got what was expected. The bed was great!! The room quiet. The front desk service on check in was uninspired. Seemed to just doing the job.

"Great place in a great area of Fairbanks"
Gail N, 09 Juin 2017

This place is centrally located and is a place we always stay when we come to Fairbanks. The service is great and the breakfast has many options. The blackout curtains work the best when you push then into the window ledge otherwise light seeps in during the summer that can keep you awake.

"Good facilities, but poor room service"
Hector G, 06 Juin 2017

It's a average to good place to stay. Parking doesn't accommodate t.v. or vehicle with trailers. Very clean facilities and organize. The room service could do better in refilling the shower gel soap, shampoo, and replace the dirty towels. They did remove the dirty towels but not replace back, leaving my wife and I only with one towel. They remade the bed, but didn't clean the toilet and shower. They can do better.

"Nice Stay!"
arpita s, 05 Juin 2017

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are clean, though the bathroom is a little dated. The breakfast contains egg, sausage, breads, pastries and waffles which was pretty nice. The hotel also has a swimming pool. I would recommend this place for a short stay in Fairbanks

"Good option in a quiet place near downtown"
Nastykjn, 02 Juin 2017

We had stayed at this property before. It's well decorated, comfortable, and a good value. It's in a quiet part of town near the Chena River and close to amenities. The HVAC could use a little work, but opening the window helped. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

"Sunny Fairbanks"
Geoffrey E, 01 Juin 2017

Ok hotel for the location. a little off the beaten path, but easily located and fairly close to many option for shopping or tourism. Price was fairly reasonable and late evening hotel staff were very helpful.

"Make sure to check your account"
Mariana C, 01 Juin 2017

I was charged $200 extra for "smoking in the room" my husband and I do not smoke. When asked the hotel States they had photos of ashes but didn't send photos as requested and they wouldn't help just told me to dispute it with my bank. This is horrible service. The GM wouldn't call me back after the person at the desk assured me she would!

"Near Railroad Station with Free Shuttle"
Bonarrigo, 27 Mai 2017

Very close to Alaska Railroad Station Free Shuttle to the Station Large Rooms with very comfortable beds. OK breakfast Great blackout drapes and quiet room. Free parking 8 minutes to downtown Would definitely stay when traveling on the Railroad.

"Poor maintenance"
Aurorakatak, 26 Mai 2017

We really liked this hotel when it first upgraded and installed whirlpool tubs. It was clean and was a great place to go with you love to sit in the hottub to relax but it has gone way downhill with maintenance in disrepair and we were even charged with stealing pillows that are not worth stealing. This last time we went we were charged a $200 ameneties fee which used to be $35 which is more than I paid for the room that night. If it weren't for there being few hotels in Fbks with hottubs we would stop going to this hotel.

"Great option in Fairbanks"
kylejaymes, 23 Mai 2017

Overall, the Best Western Plus Pioneer Park Inn is a great choice for your stay in Fairbanks. We stayed two nights in a Two Queen room over the weekend. You can tell that the rooms are recently renovated, and are thoughtfully appointed. Wifi connection was strong, which is sometimes a rarity in the north. The breakfast that was included was ample, and was slightly different on both mornings we went (variety is appreciated if staying for a while). The Front Desk staff is good; while not the most professional/polished, they're genuinely nice folks and are very approachable. Would have that any day over corporate robots. In particular, Kyle with the tattoo on his arm was helpful, as was the younger slim man who was in training. Good crew! Would have no hesitation to return to the property. Excellent choice while in Fairbanks!

"Good Hotel But!"
macedon2, 23 Mai 2017

Stayed at this hotel for 2 night based on trip advisors reviews. The reviews were correct that the staff are very friendly & helpful, the location with all the trees around the hotel make it for a more relaxed stay, the rooms are clean and large and the beds very comfy. Breakfast choices are fine and the breakfast staff work very hard to keep the food plentiful, but what stopped us from giving this hotel 5 stars is the size of the breakfast room. It is way too small for the size of the hotel, and even though they have extended seating out into the lobby, it does very little to elleviate the breakfast crush, nowhere to sit, a bit annoying but can get breakfast and go and eat in my room, not possible, the breakfast room is so small there is nowhere for you to put down your plate or beverage to make breakfast, on top of that when it is very busy and you have to line up like you are in a queue in the supermarket check out just to get a juice or coffee, l am afraid that is not the way to start a day on the right foot. It is really a shame that breakfast becomes such an unpleasant task as the hotel does everything else very well.

"Comfortable rooms - an excellent value!"
ramblindawg, 23 Mai 2017

We've stayed at this hotel twice on vacation and I cannot recommend it enough! It by far was the best hotel value in Fairbanks. The hotel was recently renovated, and rooms are updated. We stayed in rooms with a gas fireplace and a king bed. The breakfast had a great selection of items, and staffers were making sure everything was stocked and supplied. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a warm, heated swimming pool that we used several times. The main downside to this hotel is perhaps the secluded location - although you can walk across the river to Pioneer Park, there is not much else within easy walking distance. The Wi-Fi did get slow at times. But overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fairbanks.

"Son's wedding"
Lisa N, 23 Mai 2017

Had a great time in Fairbanks. The staff was very helpful. The hotel was easy to find. Will be staying again in October. I was so happy to see that you carried Almond milk for breakfast. The room was huge.

"Comfortable stay!"
anita p, 21 Mai 2017

Best cozy place amidst nature !! The front desk staff and the kitchen staff are quick and knowledgeable!! Specially KyLe the guy at reception helped us out with the visit..he chalked out a plan to visit nearby and far off places and also had the knowledge of holidays and which places to visit instead..the check in and check out process was speedy and the hotel offers free taxi rides to airport! Rooms were very clean .. complimentary breakfast was awesome!

"First few days in AK"
Gene R, 18 Mai 2017

The rooms are tidy and spacious. The water pressure is high. It's a bit off the beaten path and quiet. There is a nice breakfast in the mornings. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool and exercise room are nice.

"Stay here"
DanielleWilliams, 08 Mai 2017

Nice location. Comfortable. Clean. They do have thin walls so you can here people outside your door when they talk. It wasn't too bad. It was my second time staying there. I will continue to stay at this particular hotel.

"Alaskin Home fro home in the woods."
Terry M, 28 Avril 2017

The front desk personnel were awesome as was the breakfast personnel. This was a very excellent experience especially for the price. Great woodsy quite location close to walking path and access to major highways.

"Hidden Gem"
BillnJan83705, 28 Avril 2017

This would have been the last place I would have looked, except my business travel department listed it as an option and the place I normally stayed at was sold out. This is a hotel I will add to my favorites when visiting Fairbanks. Secluded in the woods right in town. Great walking path along the Chena River. Bridge that crosses the river into Pioneer Park. The Bed was the most comfortable I have slept on. I stay at a different hotel each week. Staff was GREAT.

"Amazing hotel!"
214chancea, 17 Avril 2017

One of the most friendly hotel staffs I've ever experienced. Room was spacious and very comfortable. It had everything that we wanted-swimming pool, fitness room, and one of the best complimentary breakfasts that I've had at a hotel. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

"Wonderful place &staff! "
Miah L, 17 Avril 2017

Loved this hotel! Used to stay here a long time ago before renovations. The area is quiet and wooded with ample parking/plug ins. Check in was fast, housekeeping does a perfect job thank you all so much for all you do! Breakfast was good :)

"Helpful staff"
Matthew H, 12 Avril 2017

The hotel is more than adequate and the breakfast was fine. The place was very full because of all the people wanting to see the International Ice Sculptures and northern lights. The best feature of the hotel was the staff, very helpful and knowledgeable of the local area.

"Comfortable!!"
kokolizo12, 08 Avril 2017

Reasonably priced, clean, large room. Standard breakfast. Friendly staff. I did not give them 5 dots because we were given a room next to the elevator and it was noisy. Make sure you do not stay in that room if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise, great stay.

"Filthy rooms, rude staff"
aimeeg1010, 07 Avril 2017

I have so many complaints about this hotel, the staff doesn't fix the problems, they lie to try to cover up their errors and if you ask for a manager, they refuse to give you their information. At check in, our room had not been vacuumed and the furniture had been sprayed with cleaner but not wiped down. We were there for 4 nights, two of those days our room was never straightened, so we had to take out our own trash and get our own towels. That's just a small example of what our stay was like. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Way better hotels to stay at while visiting Fairbanks.

"Ahh comfort"
Patsy A, 04 Avril 2017

After two nights of uncomfortable room and beds, our stay at Pioneer Park was heaven sent. The bed was very comfortable, the room was nice and warm, the bath towels were nice and thick. The only problem was the Hotel shampoo, conditioner and shower soap dispensers.

"Hockey trip"
Erin N, 03 Avril 2017

I loved the location tucked back into the woods. Very quite stay due to this. They had a nice continental breakfast a decent workout room. The rooms ran hotter than normal. The shower did spray out of the tub area even with the shower curtain. The rooms were a little small too. The beds were comfy!!

"Nice Local ran motel"
253andrev, 15 Novembre 2016

Very Clean and quite rooms. Staff are well trained and very customer oriented. Nice motel. I will be staying here again in the future. Exercise room is clean and all the newest equipment. Clean, functional rooms. I wasn't able to figure out the drape closures. Staff were very polite and helpful.

"Needed a Clean Hotel Room"
Elizabeth C, 11 Novembre 2016

I traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska from Wasilla, Alaska and needed a clean room close to my family. This fit the bill. The staff were courteous and the room was clean. My only complaint was that at breakfast they did not have a non-dairy mild for my oatmeal. Other than that, everything was nice.

"Excellent stay"
Sven P, 27 Octobre 2016

I was extremely satisfied with the hotel staff and stay. My only dislike (and not entirely with the hotel) was the powdered eggs served for breakfast - I'm not a fan of powdered eggs. Other then that the breakfast offered included a waffle maker, various oatmeals and bacon on one of the mornings.

"Cost- check in staff"
April M, 20 Octobre 2016

not impressed with front desk staff at check in or cost, however the check out staff and the room were to satisfaction.Clean hotel I would not stay here again for the price, i was only there 6 hours due to an emergency when i got there i explained this, however she did not care, quoted me one price on the phone, charged me another when i got there.

"Very nice hotel in Fairbanks"
User, 18 Octobre 2016

I just spent 5 nights here while visiting my son. It was a very clean, quiet hotel and the staff was extremely friendly. I loved the location surrounded by wooded land. It made for the perfect place to spend my first visit to Alaska!

"Best Western close to base"
Manuel Edmund E, 13 Octobre 2016

Centrally located between base and the airport. great place to stay. Kids can use the indoor pool. Walking distance to the HOODOO. We had a great time here and the staff was awesome. minor business office but the living room made up for it. Two large TV's, one in the living room and the other in the breakfast area.

"Comfortable Hotel"
Chris R, 12 Octobre 2016

This hotel was a comfortable, friendly place to stay. Clean, quiet, good breakfast, helpful staff in knowing what was going on in the community. The outskirts of the building were very clean, parking well planned out.

"Excellent Choice for Family Friendly Hotel Stay"
George L, 08 Octobre 2016

We found the Best Wester Park Inn to be a great choice for our family. The breakfast alone sets this hotel apart even from the BW Golden Lion in Anchorage. This is a clean, quiet, and comfortable hotel for family stays. Helpful staff. Good value for the price. Stayed two nights and would do so again. Dr. George L.

"Very Clean and Very Comfortable"
Amanda B, 03 Octobre 2016

The hotel is conveniently located for both the airport and downtown. You can tell the building itself is older, BUT they have made significant renovations. It looks very modern and is clean. I've slept in many hotel beds, and this one was by far the most comfortable. It was really like sleeping in my own bed.

"Nice hotel in a quiet area of town."
William F, 01 Octobre 2016

Been going here for many years when we take a town trip for shopping. Recently renovated so has very clean and comfortable rooms with good wi-fi and TV. Nice warm pool big enough to exercise. Great hot breakfast with real eggs, bacon, potatoes, fruit. Has a good elevator. Located in a wooded area which has not otherwise been developed. Good northern lights viewing since you can get away from electric lights. Nice short walk to the Chena River foot bridge for Fall sunsets and paved path along river for bird viewing. You can easily walk in the back entrance to Pioneer Park and see the historic buildings preserved there. Not close to any restaurants but easy to drive to and from this nice hotel once you find the location. Really a bargain for the quality of experience.

"zero cleaning"
Ricky L, 29 Septembre 2016

We paid for two nights- we had to remind front desk our room wasn't cleaned after the first night. When they responded- all they did was replace the towels. For paying over $200 for two nights- there shouldn't be any problems reported in the first place. When the report was called in of not being cleaned- yes, there was an apology but when we returned to our room, there was still trash and beds weren't made up. The only thing done was towels replaced. I doubt if we'll go back there again.

"Nice Clean Room"
richardhG4514GH, 24 Septembre 2016

Nice clean room, lobby area is nice and staff very helpful.Room was modern with a nice flat screen TV.They had a decent breakfast in the lobby area in the morning.Overall the hotel was nice and modern, clean and had a great staff.

"Great place to stay in Fairbanks"
ddjd, 20 Septembre 2016

Very clean rooms & bedding. Comfortable beds & pillows. Standard amenities for motels these days - flat screen, microwave, fridge, etc. Great full breakfast in the morning. Short walk to Pioneer Park. We felt the price was a little high but it was a good stay.

"Fairbanks Best Western Plus"
Nancy W, 19 Septembre 2016

This is a clean hotel with comfortable beds in a safe area. The setting is wooded, which makes it relaxing and scenic.. The Chena river is nearby and Pioneer Park is an easy walk on a paved path and footbridge. The service is also excellent. The breakfast, while welcome, is a standard hotel continental breakfast, unexciting and rather bland.

"Customer service could be better"
Georgina_GoHe, 14 Septembre 2016

We were told by the front desk that we could get a call in case the northern lights were visible in the late night, so we signed up for the service. We never got a notice call. On our way to the airport, the taxi driver told us that the northern lights were indeed visible, so we were very surprised and disappointed because it probably was our only chance and we never got to see them. The taxi driver's answer was: "these guys (the hotel front desk staff) aren't paying attention and they don't really mind if you see them." The rest of the services are ok, but considering that most tourists go to Fairbanks to see the lights, the hotel should really pay more attention to their main tourist attraction. Again, we feel really disappointed by the customer services. P.S. The HVAC or the internal pipes or something is always hitting the walls and making non-stop noises, so it is hard to sleep.

"Nice Stay- Good Value"
jmjbrtw, 08 Septembre 2016

We stayed there while exploring Fairbanks our group of 4. The hotel was in a convenient quiet location with easy access to highway. Our room was large and clean on 3rd floor with 2 queen beds. AC was cold Breakfast was standard BW with plenty of choices, always kept restocked. There was a pool that looked nice but we didn't have chance to use it. The price was reasonable. I would recommend Pioneer Park and would stay there again if in area- no complaints . Also, the staff were all friendly and helpful.

"Good Service OK Room"
pec95, 04 Septembre 2016

We stayed here a night during the Labor Day Holiday weekend in Sept 2016. It was an average hotel. The front desk service was friendly and pleasant, and the continental breakfast was punctual. The room though had an off-smell faintly of smoking. The heating/cooling system was archaic and the elevator out. A little pricey but expected during a holiday weekend. The location requires a car too. 3/5

"Favorite Fairbanks hotel"
Shaverbug, 31 Août 2016

Our new go-to hotel when visiting Fairbanks. Reasonably priced and at least as good as the other Fairbanks BW, but less expensive. Clean, comfortable rooms and beds. Friendly staff. Good breakfast and its nice to have an indoor pool for the kids. Only real compliant is the location. It takes a bit to find as it is not on the main highway, and unfortunately when we were there they were doing road work, which made it pretty inconvenient esp. after 8pm. There are no restaurants within walking distance, but it is secluded and quiet. Close to UAF and Pioneer Park and as long as you have a car, should not have much trouble getting around.

"Great stay near UAF"
javagirl63, 28 Août 2016

We were taking our daughter to college. I was very pleased with the price and the quality of this hotel. We were close to the campus which was great. In spite of the road work being done near the entrance of the hotel, the staff was very sensitive to that and gave us a room on the back side of the building so the noise wouldn't disturb us. Very friendly staff, nice hotel. We will definitely stay here again we go to visit her!

"Nice hotel"
Lorelei M, 27 Août 2016

Nice hotel, comfortable, clean, modern room. Good central location, average breakfast service. Only complaint was the conditioner dispenser in the shower did not work, and both days for breakfast the meat selection had run out before being refilled.

"Totally Disappointing!"
Readytotravel381, 25 Août 2016

My husband and I were quite disappointed in our stay at this inn. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the hotel needed a thorough cleaning. Our room had an air conditioner, but it blew hot air. Since it was a warm evening, we asked if someone could check the unit. A man from the front desk came in, took the front off the air conditioner and jiggled some wires. We waited about 45 minutes for the unit to start cooling. When it was clear that it would not work, we gathered up our things and requested a room change. In the process, I closed the drape and beneath it found debris (q-tip and plastic bag) on the floor. Our second room was cooler, but not cleaner. (Popcorn and pretzels under the edge of the bed and what appeared to be mold on the tub floor) The breakfast was standard fare for Best Western Inns - ok, nothing special. However, the dining room was adjacent to the swimming pool and the areas were separated by filthy windows. While water spots can be difficult to remove, to do so is not impossible and would make a huge difference in the dining atmosphere and overall impression of the Inn.

"Nice room, secluded location"
Donna C, 23 Août 2016

Very pleasant large room with modern decor and really comfortable beds. The location is quiet and secluded (a bit hard to find) but centrally located directly across from Pioneer Park. There is a footbridge linking the park with the hotel that is a really pleasant walk and the park is interesting for both adults and kids.

"Great hotel and breakfast"
Jo B, 23 Août 2016

Nice and clean modern rooms. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast good. Nothing to fault. Very friendly breakfast lady who can help with local information. Very good value for money at this hotel....we actually stayed longer than expected.

"Excellent Place"
SirHoot, 21 Août 2016

I stayed here twice in June 2016 and both times, the place exceeded all expectation. The service was good, free breakfast was good and location was super quiet and out of the way but yet so easy to go anywhere. The room was neat, clean and bedding was fresh. It hard to find something negative to say. So I will stop at two. One is the pool which is inside in front of the lobby. Lacking privacy was one of the reasons why my friend who was with me didn't use it. Second was in my second visit, I had the exact same room but lacking a coffee table of my first stay. I asked if I could have one and an undertrained staff member told me that since I had a different room with different size, I don't get the coffee table. When I explained that everything is the same but the room number, she got bit huffy so I let it slide. When I checked out the next morning, I was told that she was a newbie and undertrained. But outside of that, this place proves to be an ideal place to stay in Fairbanks!!

"Very Comfortable Room"
434TrishM, 20 Août 2016

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Pioneer Park. It is a bit out of the main city area but we did have our own car, which gave us the freedom to get to the city area. We did not have any experience to ascertain if public transport is convenient to get around. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Amenities all great. Staff helpful and friendly.

"Excellent value"
apple506, 18 Août 2016

The service for both the check in & check out was done in a polite, courteous manner. Rooms are decorated in a modern manner and large in size to accommodate up to 3 to 4 people. Only drawback to the room was that the sink was in the room with the beds and toilet & shower/bath were in a small room by themselves. There was a good selection of items for the breakfast. Items included scrambled eggs with a second selection of scrambled eggs cooked with peppers & onions, rotation of sausage or bacon, make your own waffles, toast, quick cook cereals, dry cereals, 3 types of juices, coffee, tea, pastry buns, yogurt, jams, jellies for the toast and 3 or 4 fresh fruits. The hotel also provided shuttle from the airport or train station to the hotel.

"Thanks for a Great Experience"
Paula B, 17 Août 2016

Super stay during a stressful time (transition my daughter to college). The staff was really helpful and the hotel is very inviting. Breakfast was the highlight for all of us. Well done, well stocked and delicious - and we weren't the only ones who thought so. Great job all - thanks for a wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!

"Very dirty room!"
David B, 16 Août 2016

11 nights and only got sheets changed 2 times, and then we had to beg. Cleaned tub only once in 11 days and vacuumed only 2 times. Housekeeping said they had their best person cleaning our room, I would hate to think of what the other rooms looked like. She was argumentative when we complained about the sheets not being changed. I had a blanket that left blue fuzz on the sheets so I knew they had not been changed. I would never stay there again!!

"Its all about the bed."
brianbobbi, 08 Août 2016

The most comfortable bed of any hotel at any cost. Stayed in two different rooms on separate occasians and the beds were excellent in both. The second room had a bad thermostat and the room wasn't as warm as what i would have liked.

"Not much room for breakfast"
John B, 07 Août 2016

The staff are great. Always helpful for advice and guidance. Sadly they are the only positive thing I can say. Location - no nearby restaurants. Pool - yes it has one but gets full VERY quickly with kids. Breakfast - The area is way too small for the number of rooms and poorly laid out. There are large couches in the reception are that could be removed and the breakfast area moved to there. This would double the area immediately. Noise - Walls seem paper-thin. Not helped when there is a connecting door with noisy folks next door. Doors to adjacent rooms cause the room to shake when folks "close" them.

"Clean and comfortable "
Brian S, 05 Août 2016

Very nice stay when visiting Fairbanks for 2 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend. We had boxes shipped from Buffalo, NY not knowing what type of food we would be able to find when traveling with 2 celiacs in the Last Frontier. The staff had them waiting when we arrived. Easy on/off the highway. Close to everything.

"Very nice hotel. "
jackie b, 31 Juillet 2016

Breakfast was great. There was a pool that wasn't listed on the website. The breakfast was so good and the hotel was overall very clean. The one downfall on this hotel was that the rooms are small. Three of us were comfortable but the furniture is just a bit too big for the rooms. If we had an extended stay, I think it would have felt even smaller. It has a very nice walking path which leads to Pioneer Park. It is also a good distance from the airport.

"A great place for a quiet break"
Wanda H, 31 Juillet 2016

We spent two nights here as a break from an otherwise busy vacation, with several of our stays prior to here being at much more expensive lodges. The service and rooms here met or surpassed the lodges easily. The location seemed a little remote, but only because we were not familiar with the area. Once we got out and rode around, we found that whatever we needed was actually close by. The courtesy and helpfulness of the desk clerk set the tone for a happy and relaxed stay.

"Great hotel. Good location "
Natalie120785, 29 Juillet 2016

Polite and friendly staff on reception who were very accommodating in answering questions about our stay. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. A short walk from pioneer park and a taxi ride from downton fairbanks. Not much to do in fairbanks but would definitely recommend the vintage car museum

"A Hidden Gem"
MoJoTours, 29 Juillet 2016

This hotel is located just off Airport Road, behind Pioneer Park. It is on a loop road, surrounded by trees, making it feel like the countryside instead of a city. Nothing however in Fairbanks is too far away. We arrived at 2am and were made to feel at home immediately. Our room was spacious and very clean. The indoor pool was excellent and very relaxing after a day's sightseeing. Breakfast was the normal motel options but there was additional seating in the lobby so it never felt busy. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and complimentary cookies at reception was an added bonus. This was by far the cheapest accomodation we found on our ten day Alaskan road trip, but it was also very clean and comfortable. We would definately stay here again and recommend to others.

"Kuugmiut dancers"
McRidge N, 26 Juillet 2016

All good nice location.Like the location close to carlson center.Stayed ther again for the 2016 World Eskimo Indian Olympics and had a wonderful stay. Will stay there anytime.nice clean and wonderful staff.

"First night of Alaska trip"
Kentuckygirl4098, 25 Juillet 2016

Very clean and impressive lobby. Our room was nice and clean and very quiet. I am a travel agent and this hotel had the best price for a 1 night stay close to the airport that I could find. FYI, we visited Pioneer Park and it is worth going to. Make sure you check out the Art studio there , artist has antlers with intricate scene carvings within the antler. Also visit the photography studio there where prints are sold that have been taken by the actual owner of the studio. Unbelievable shots!! Get the 3 berry cobbler with ice cream, only 3.50!

"Nice Stay"
Tracy D, 23 Juillet 2016

I was here during the Northern Lights season and really enjoyed my stay here. This hotel is 15 min away from the airport and has free airport pickup and drop-off. Location is nice as most tour companies will pick you up for your activity from here since its in their range. Cookies are always in the lobby, the continental breakfast is GREAT as there are not a lot of restaurants around the area and the rooms are clean and spacious. Nice gym facility to work out, free wi-fi and Northern Lights wake up calls. Unfortunately, we didn't see any lights in this area that we stayed in, but it was nice to know they would call us if anything were to show. Pleasant stay!

"Minor Problems quickly corrected"
Robert G, 20 Juillet 2016

I had two problems. First was the room booked (2 queen) was not the room assigned. Instantly corrected. Second problem was the HVAC didn't work. After checking the system, we were quickly moved to another room with working HVAC. Overall, the stay was pleasant.

"One of two with a Pool in Fairbanks"
tkauffman, 19 Juillet 2016

Close to Pioneer Park and the blue bus line but not in the heart of the city and not much else around. Largest pool in Fairbanks. Free breakfast. Free transportation to and from the airport and train station. Friendly staff.

"Enjoyable Stay!"
RoadtripperColl, 18 Juillet 2016

We spent 2 nights here as part of our Alaskan road trip. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were comfortable and decorated nicely. We liked the location which was off the main road in the woods a bit which was nice! It was conveniently located to all we did in the Fairbanks area as well as Pioneer Park. The breakfast was nice and we enjoyed the indoor pool! It was also one of the more affordable hotels in all our travels through Alaska. I'd recommend it!

"Good place to stay in Fairbanks"
marcrail1, 13 Juillet 2016

This Best Western blends in with all the other above average motels I have stayed at. After waiting 20 minutes at the airport for the taxi they were going to send we grabbed our own. To their credit they unblinkingly paid the fare. I was never offered a taxi to the Alaska Railroad. I would not recommend this for travelers without cars because the nearest restaurants are quite a hike away and the motel has no food service..

"Friendly staff and good breakfast"
Gloria U, 13 Juillet 2016

My sisters and I just went to Alaska and had the best stay at this hotel. Not only were the staff (front desk, food service, and cleaning) friendly, helpful, and accomodating, but the hotel was ideally located in a great location in the city of Fairbanks. Good sized, clean rooms and other amenities are sure to make your stay there a pleasant one. A great value for your hard-earned money!

"Perfect place to stay"
laurenutt, 12 Juillet 2016

The actual building is surrounded by woods and trees which makes it all the more beautiful. Nothing in Fairbanks is farther than 15 minutes from the hotel. Pioneer park is just around the corner which is great for tourists with kids. The room itself was very beautiful! Decorated very upscale and new. Soft bed and softer pillows. Blackout curtains (for the 24 sun in the summer). And I loved the heat lamp in the ceiling of the bathroom so that warmed you up when you stepped out of the shower! Staff was very friendly and even when full, the hotel was fairly quiet and relaxing.

"Good family hotel."
Linda S, 12 Juillet 2016

The room and hotel were very clean. They gave us as many towels as we needed. The full breakfast was excellent, the indoor pool was wonderful, the fitness room had top notch equipment and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, you can walk to Pioneer Park where there are lots of free activities for children.

"Good hotel with Bad AC"
Mayank R, 05 Juillet 2016

Stayed here from 29th June to 1st July in 2016. Hotel is good. Check-in and Check-out was fast. Upon request , front desk gave us room next to Parking on first floor. Breakfast was ordinary. Room had microwave and refrigerator. Adequate lights and good water pressure in shower. Internet was fast. Lots of parking. Room was clean and Ice vending machine was good. Only issue during stay was AC. It was not cooling room and we were very uncomfortable at night. I would not stay in hotel again in Summer due to AC issues.

"Best Western Plus Pioneer Park Inn, Fairbanks, AK"
2Travelers77, 05 Juillet 2016

stayed at the Best Western Plus Pioneer Park Inn, Fairbanks, AK for 3 days. Nice hotel, friendly, helpful staff. ice breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to my friendly & family who are going to Fairbanks. .

"ok hotel, tragic experience"
Tejaasbear, 05 Juillet 2016

This hotel is ok, not well located because it is a long walk to anything. The staff were nice, the room was pretty good, but don't rely on their free transfer from the train station. IT took an hour and a half for a 1.5 mile transfer

"Hotel in Fairbanks"
Zhuolin H, 04 Juillet 2016

We stayed there for two nights. The room is ok. The breakfast is simple. The pool close too early. Location is good and quite and no other business closed to it. The staff are friendly. The price is fair but we hade to book it online in advance via Expedia.com.

"An enjoyable experience"
Jennifer D, 30 Juin 2016

We stayed at the Best Western for five nights last month. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, especially those who worked in the kitchen who prepared a variety of delicious cooked and raw food for breakfast which was included in the price. Excellent value all around! The king size room was great, with a very comfortable huge bed and the spa was great! We had no car for a couple of days before we hired one, but the walk to the centre of the town was very pleasant, which took about an hour and a half slowly walking along the river and enjoying the scenery and some of the quant native Americans dwellings. We really enjoyed seeing the old fashioned log huts. The welcome in Fairbanks was amazing! We had found in our travels over the world that the Irish were the friendliest, but these Alaskans are definitely on a par with them. One lady saw we were waiting to cross one of the main roads. She slowed down as she waved us across, and she wound down her window and called out "Welcome to Fairbanks!" That was really touching, but this was the tone of this welcoming town. Pioneer Paek was only about five minutes or so, walk away. We enjoyed a scrumptious Salmon Bake there, where one could eat as much as they wished. The fillet steak and the battered fish along with a great variety of salad and desserts, as well as tea and coffe was a winner! Fairbanks definitely left a great impression as we made that a springboard to discover the many exciting parts of Alaska. Highly recommended!

"In the Woods"
melody t, 27 Juin 2016

Hotel is average with indoor heated pool...nice. Breakfast is average extended hot breakfast...plenty of it. Rooms are nice size...had a king bed. What I liked most was location....secluded from the main road and surrounded by trees. It was quite peaceful but very easy access to everything in town. Front desk will work with you if you want to leave something in a room or at the front desk. I had cookies delivered to hotel and placed in room of couple we traveled with. It was their 30th anniversary. They left a bottle of wine for us at the front desk. It was our 25th anniversary. They do have blackout curtains, which you will need during the summer...daylight 24/7. But I would also suggest a mask to wear at night to keep the leaking light from waking you up thinking you have overslept. The room does have A/C. Only 2 out of the 6 hotels we stayed in had A/C, so be sure to ask about that if you are traveling in the summer. I was cold the whole time (jeans, t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, jacket) and they said they were having a heat wave. Highest temp the 12 days there was 74 and average was 68 (mid June). I also left several reviews of attractions in the area....check them out.

"Great Stay"
John B, 21 Juin 2016

Great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Close to all attractions and close to airport. Rooms are very spacious with microwave, fridge, etc. Would definitely recommend, close to downtown Fairbanks, about ten minutes. Sixty miles to Chena Hot Springs, a must when visiting Fairbanks.

"Highly recommended"
Birdwatcher86001, 21 Juin 2016

Staff dealt with screaming, crying baby in room next door in very professional manner. They move our room to quiet location within 5 minutes of our addressing the problem. Excellent quiet location of property wit convenient access to river trail.

"Nice out of town location"
Danielle P, 20 Juin 2016

You can walk to Pioneer Park from this hotel. This is a located on a quiet and out of the way street. It was a perfect start to our Alaska vacation. Clean hotel with friendly staff. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others.

"Alaska Trip"
skierden, 19 Juin 2016

This hotel was very nice looking inside and out. Everything in the room was clean. Fast check in and check out. Good breakfast setup. Very friendly staff. Close to the train station with a free shuttle to station in the morning.

"Ideal hotel"
Heather J, 16 Juin 2016

Found this hotel situated in ideal place, surrounded by trees on a quiet road. Greeted by friendly receptionists and informative too. Room was lovely with a Fireplace, which not that cold, shame as would have been very cozy. Hot/cold breakfast very adequate to start the day. Pool was not large but as car park large could have been extended out & maybe small outside terrace would go down well.

"This was a lovely place to stay while in Fairbanks! The room was very comfortable and there was a nice indoor pool!"
Gary B, 15 Juin 2016

We enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. The facility was lovely and quite comfortable. The beds were great and I loved the fact that the vanity was not in the same room with the tub and toilet. When several are traveling together it makes it much easier when getting ready! The staff was very friendly and helpful!

"Outstanding service, great location!"
4Smokey, 14 Juin 2016

We had advanced reservations for the Fairbank's Travelodge, arrived at 4 AM in a rain storm to find it was CLOSED and under construction inside. Note on the door said to find another hotel! The Best Western Plus - Pioneer Park Inn took us in at the other hotel's cost and provided a great room. Staff was helpful, rooms well kept and clean. Free parking and a nice morning breakfast. Hotel is located in the woods off the main roads and very quiet. They provided shuttle service to and from the airport and railroad station at no cost. The full hotel had couples and large families, WiFi, and good TV. Only "problem" was the sun never goes down and heavy curtains are needed to sleep at night.

"Beautiful room with a Whirlpool"
IceCleo, 14 Juin 2016

The hotel is somewhat secluded and surrounded by trees with a long driveway so it didn't really feel like we were in the city. The staff was excellent and made the check in process a pleasant experience. We booked the room with a whirlpool so that we could soak. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast only lasted until 9 but it was a real breakfast! It wasn't just the vending machine food you get at some hotels; they had bagels, sausage, eggs, hash browns, and a waffle maker!

"Comfortable clean spacious rooms"
LEE S, 12 Juin 2016

We had a queen twin room which was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Hotel also has a heated pool. The breakfast was ordinary, however was included in the tariff which is not the case in most hotels. Would recommend for an airport overnight or if you have a car, as away from downtown area

"Nice hotel"
Chickie73, 09 Juin 2016

Aloha, There are (2)Best Westerns in the area so make sure you know which one you are booking.Service was good, quiet wooded area, close to shopping and restaurants.Room was clean and well kept. Breakfast in the morning was included. Good overnight stay.

"Can't Believe you don't"
Roger F, 07 Juin 2016

I can't believe you don't have National Broadcast Channels on your Televison maybe someone may want to watch the NBA Finals. The internet is a JOke. I could not stream the finals on your internet because the speed was only 1 to 2m. The hotel is nice but if you want to watch good morning america go to another hotel because this one will not have it.

"Leisure Touring Reststop"
Douglas L, 05 Juin 2016

Once again, Best Western provided us an excellent rest stop. The rooms were clean, neat and orderly as we've come to expect from Best Western. Staff was very helpful, available and courteous. We did report upon our leaving a few maintenance issues with the room, but feel they would be addressed soon.

"The staff sets this place apart!"
JeffanLisa, 03 Juin 2016

Samantha at the front desk made our visit great! No questions asked she remedy any issue we had. We will come back just knowing we can count on excellent customer service. Highly recommend staying here when traveling to Fairbanks!

"Great value hotel"
Wayne S, 03 Juin 2016

Everything about this hotel would be perfect, except for the woefully small breakfast area. There was never enough seating, despite trying different times. The food selection was fairly good, but trying to access some items (like beverages) meant bumping and rubbing against guests seated at tables.

"Great Hotel, CLEAN, excellent staff"
John M, 01 Juin 2016

We stayed at the Best Western in Fairbanks, close to the Pioneer Park. It was very clean, room was very nicely decorated. We had AC that actually worked well. The morning breakfast, the staff was exceptionally nice. Good food selection with plenty of pastries, make your own waffles. The hotel is situated on a walking path to a nearby attraction.

"Very good overall, especially for price!"
Amber A, 31 Mai 2016

Good, clean hotel in the woods but close to everything. We experienced only a few minor issues during our stay but the staff was great and we left satisfied. We will definitely return. Lighting is a bit inadequate in the rooms, so be ready for that, especially in the winter. We did experience some noise from the hallway and room-to-room. Temperature controls worked well, pool is great, breakfast was very very good. Loved the secluded location.

"ALASKA TRIP"
rapcs, 31 Mai 2016

Close and convenient to Fairbanks, shopping, and attractions. Walking distance to Pioneer Park. Close to airport and expressway, with easy on and off. Establishment is also very close to the university.

"Quick Business Trip"
Nicholas H, 27 Mai 2016

Had a nice stay on a quick business trip to Fairbanks. This is my only choice when I come here. The hotel is clean and the employees are helpful. Good breakfast options and indoor pool. Newer hotel a little out of the way, but close enough to the action. Overall it's always a nice stay.

"A Nice Property"
bcmitchell35, 19 Mai 2016

The Best Western Plus Pioneer Park Inn is a good, safe choice if you find yourself in need of lodging in Fairbanks. The hotel appears to have been renovated recently and is well-kept. Positives: Convenient location in a secluded and safe area, nicely renovated/decorated, clean, very reasonably priced, friendly staff, ample parking, comfortable beds Negatives: Walls are a bit thin and I could clearly hear the TV and voices from the neighboring room, breakfast area is a bit small and the staff had trouble keeping up with the demand for food (things kept running out) on the first morning, housekeeping staff didn't clean our room on Day 2 (not sure why since we didn't have our "do not disturb" sign on the door), shower curtains are way too long and I kept stepping on it during my shower, shower didn't drain very well

"Our motel stay before leaving Fairbanks"
Elleen L, 19 Mai 2016

Since we were leaving Fairbanks very early in the morning, we chose to stay in a motel the last night instead of at our son's house. The staff at the Pioneer Park Inn did everything right in order to being at the airport to catch our flight. We would look forward to staying there again. They even gave us a snack sack to take with us since we missed their breakfast.

"excellant stay"
Henry G, 18 Mai 2016

Great room, friendly staff, very helpful, The location was out of the way and I saw a rabbit dart across the road. The king bed and fireplace was the same price as the room with two queen beds, so I went with the fireplace. It was great.

"Alaskan Road Trip"
Thomas F, 13 Mai 2016

Checked in here after driving from Whitehorse YT. The location is convenient to the Pioneer Park but you need to drive to get to the city center. It is a lovely property and the rooms were spacious. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was great. Overall it was a very good experience.

"Very Nice Stay"
BFLA, 04 Mai 2016

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights (April 1 and 2). After a long drive from Anchorage we was looking for some rest and we got it with this location. The hotel was located in among some large trees (that cut the noise down to nothing). The lady at the desk gave us recommendations on where to eat dinner. She was spot on. The restaurant was great. The lady, setting up the breakfast, was so friendly that it seemed that she was part of our family. The entire staff was so nice and friendly that I wondered if there was something in the water. My hats off to the staff and management at the best western at Pioneer Park.

"thank you"
Robert L, 01 Mai 2016

thank you for the stay, Fairbanks was shut down, that time of year, but we had a great time the kids swam in the pool , everybody on the staff was nice unlike other places around Alaska. The room was great and we made some good memories thanks to your establishment.

"BAD Customer SRVICE"
H1141OWrobinc, 24 Avril 2016

Manager very unpleasant, did not have good customer service when trying to let her know about dis satisfied I was with my stay. Also a elder man was complaining but she did not care in the least. He was complaint about the same thing I was room very very hot, loud noise.....The desk staff was very embarrassed as the manager wound not let them accommodate either of us with a discounted rate or even points for another stay. I will not stay at this hotel again , and will most likely just go back to Holiday Inn Express much better customer service at least they try to please the guest and have never had a rude manager....

"Excited about breakfast"
missesallison, 18 Avril 2016

Overall the hotel feels very good for the price. It's clean, updated and relaxed. My biggest complaint is the cheapy toilet paper and tissues and the awkward fluorescent light in the bathroom. My favorite part by far is the breakfast. Standard waffle maker AND scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage. Thank you, Best Western, you made my morning.

"Don't let Location fool you"
Brenda A, 18 Avril 2016

Although located near the industrial area, it is an easy access right off the express way. Is surrounded by woods that gives you privacy and cuts noise down. Have stayed here many times when it was Comfort Inn and Best Western appears to be maintaining the great hotel experience Comfort Inn did. The full breakfast is great, good coffee, and hotel staff in the area making sure everything is fresh and cleaned up. the price is very reasonable when compared to other hotels in the area.

"Dreammi bed"
AleLFC, 11 Avril 2016

This hotel is really god, all the service and staff really nice, but if you don't have a car is really difficult get there. We had so was very easy and confortable not been in the center of the city. The only bad is the breakfast, we went to see the northern lights, so we go to bed really late, like 3 or 4 am, and the service is only until 9 am, so you gonna need your alarm clock otherwise your gonna missed it, like us :/

"Comfortable lodgings and very accommodating front desk person!"
hookedonBristolBay, 10 Avril 2016

I picked this hotel based on many excellent stays at the Kodiak Best Western Hotel. We found the rooms to be very comfortable, and very clean, with very comfortable beds. What stood out was the remarkable young man at the front desk, whom we asked for directions on how to get to a restaurant that was a favorite of ours when we lived here years ago. He volunteered to print out very specific directions (I think from Mapquest) and called the restaurant to check to see if we needed reservations, which it turned out were not needed that early in the evening. We also were able to use discounts from AARP and a coupon that Best Western happened to email me a couple of weeks before our stay there, so the cost, which would have been reasonable at the regular price, was even better. The big disappointment was those lovely looking bathtubs, which are very comfortable for a nice hot soak, but difficult to get out of because the wall side of the tub is completely flat and there is no way to boost yourself out of the tub using one hand on either size. Takes real creativity to get out. I give the hotel credit for using squirt containers attached to the shower wall for shampoo, creme rinse and body wash, because that is definitely the environmentally friendly thing to do, but those squirt containers are next to the shower nozzle, (way out of reach when sitting in the tub) and the hotel provides no bars of soap, so if you plan a nice hot bath here, bring your own soap! The experience left me with the impression that they really do not want anyone using those bathtubs; just the showers.

"Very nice stay"
StillDoreen92, 08 Avril 2016

We stayed here twice in a week (went to Chena Hot Springs for an overnight in between). The room was clean, nicely furnished, comfortable beds, flat screen TV. The people at the desk were very helpful. In the winter, they do not run a shuttle, but they partner with a local cab company and that worked out quite well. Decent hot breakfast. We would stay again if we found ourselves back in Fairbanks. Free parking.

"Nice Stay"
Sommer E, 02 Avril 2016

We stayed here for our week long trip in Fairbanks and was not bad. A full breakfast is available every morning which was great. The staff was very friendly and randomly we would find free cookies in the lobby from The Cookie Jar in town and they were awesome! One of the main downside to the rooms was the sink being outside of the bathroom and in the main room.

"April 1,2016"
Lynda S, 02 Avril 2016

Across the street from this property is the walking/ biking trail to along the Chena River, It is great for a morning walk. It is very close to Pioneer Park and the local event center. Very quiet. Best to have a car because the nearest restaurant is probably at least 1/2 mile.

"What a show!"
Vincent Van Der G, 30 Mars 2016

From a great start to an awesome finish: we had the best time in Fairbanks. Front-desk lady was very friendly and peppy and breezed us through the check-in process in minutes. She explained the breakfast times, pool times, and other hotel amenities and we were on our way. "Do you do Northern Lights wake-up calls?" "Yes, we do!" And boy, did we see them. We went to Ester Dome in the middle of the night and saw East-to-West Aurora green, red, and purple spectacles. We had two queen size beds in our room: one for sleeping and one for storage ;) The room was on the verge of becoming a 3-star experience but it was still Best Western. Beds were nice, decor was awesome, there was a coffee maker, fridge, microwave and the freebies were refilled daily. Hmmmm, french vanilla coffee! It shows that paying slightly more than a freeway motel is worth the bucks many more times in comfort. The shower provided a well-received relief of warmth after shuffling around in the snow all day. That is, if the pool didn't do that job. Hotel is on a forresty loop road that is sorta plowed but not kept totally ice-free. Don't worry, aside from a small slip and slide here and there, our tiny Spark hustled onto the parking lot every time no problems. Just don't go faster than 20 mph. :) They offer hook-ups if your car has one of these fancy warm-up thingies inside. Nearby activities like Pioneer Park, Ice Alaska (the "Kid's" Ice Park is adult fun when the young ones go to bed at night. Going down the ice slides is the best!), and North Pole are great. The hotel is located in a nice patch of trees for that nice winter wonderland feel. Breakfast is nice and varies slightly every day. It's the standard Continental Breakfast (cereal, juice, fruit, muffins, coffee) with an added selection of "hot breakfast" option like egg, sausage, biscuit & gravy, bacon, or potato + waffle maker. Yay! Only suggestion: offer a bit more variety with the hot items. Perhaps one more non-meat item like a potato or pancake would have been great. Meat is grrrrreat but not for everyone.

"Good value and location"
sally00802, 27 Mars 2016

This hotel was reasonably priced and provides easy access to Fairbanks and the ice carving festival. Staff was friendly and helpful. The cleaning seemed a bit lax - just not thorough. There were lots of tasty breakfast options.

"Peger Road, where are you?"
Gaghee_11, 27 Mars 2016

Just what you'd expect for a BW Plus hotel, but finding it was a challenge without GPS. Luckily a Fairbanks cop assisted me at 2 AM (he was hoping to bag a DUI rather than a confused elder). So here's directions from the airport. Turn right (east on Airport Way) out of the rental lot. Google told me to turn left! Peger Road is about 5 stoplights east. Turn left on Peger and you'll see the BW sign about a quarter mile on the right at the light at Philips Field Road. Turn right here and then take the first right on Chena Landings Loop Rd. Bingo.

"Great affordable option"
LifeisBestExplored, 26 Mars 2016

Staff was helpful and cheerful even at 3 a.m. Breakfast had great options for everyone, room had fridge and microwave. Location was not in the city but so close you didn't notice, surrounded by woods. Very close to the Ice Carving Park, easy on/off freeway access, would be nice walking trails if we'd not come in the winter. No large tour buses like many other hotels, which was my favorite part. Fantastic for the money.

"Huge bedroom, nice location, and Breakfast!"
Kaiqin H, 18 Mars 2016

My friend and I stayed in two hotels for our Fairbanks trip. This is the second hotel and when I opened the door, I was surprised by the large space! We stayed in a 2 queen bed room, and everything just worked perfect. Bathroom is delicate. Plenty of free parking spots. Convenient location. What is the best, the breakfast is amazing! Compared with the other hotel we stayed in, I would say the only "drawback" is the lack of a local flavor, which should because it is a formal convention hotel. Comfortable and gorgeous. Definitely recommend it!

"Decent Stay"
TXLuv2Travel, 17 Mars 2016

We recently spent 3 nights at this property. It was clean and comfortable and with the AAA rate, couldn't have asked for a better price. Our two queen room had a microwave and refrigerator; bed and pillows comfortable and it was in a convenient location for visiting the World Ice Championship. It had a full breakfast, which was better than most. Staff very friendly. The only "negative" from my husband was he likes a room to be as dark as possible and quite a bit of light came through the door. Would recommend though and we will stay again if in the area. The hotel was also non-smoking, which is a big plus.

"WHATTA BREAKFAST!"
Tim P, 16 Mars 2016

Reasonable cost and transportation provided. Gave good advice on attractions, but rather remote from meals. Great breakfast with hot and cold items in abundance. Try making choclate chip waffles. Would definitely use for lodging in the future.

"Liked the location"
nivaun, 06 Mars 2016

I enjoyed the fact that it is hidden across the river from Pioneer Park. There is a nice bridge crossing the Chena River conveniently located next to the hotel that puts you on a bike path that goes downtown in one direction and UAF in another. Staff was helpful and kind. The walls to the rooms do not block sound very well and our main door was not sealed very well. This is a "no smoking" hotel and our neighbors lit up two nights in a row. The door inside between rooms allowed the smell and smoke into our room easily. The staff was very quick in responding on both occasions and would have moved us if we asked. Breakfast was fine and what I expected. The swimming pool looked clean and taken care of. I would stay here again. Wifi worked in intervals and was very slow at times. I just turned it off and used my phones network which was much quicker.

"Highly recommend!!!"
Thumma, 05 Mars 2016

We are enjoying our stay. Great breakfast... Clean and always well stocked. Very nice staff and accommodating. Rochelle jumped thru hoops to find why our tour pick was not on time. She contacted the tour company and called our travel agent. She was WONDERFUL!!!! Wish we would have received the message that was left the night before that our pick up time changed!!! We had a room with a King size bed and very roomy. Nice hot showers, just wish there was a way to get the room darker. Most of our sleeping was during the day and the bright lights made it difficult for me.

"Cooling/Heating system Broken"
Lindsay R, 02 Mars 2016

Unresolved issue of cooling/heating system in room. 80 degree temperature all night - had to sleep with the windows open in February. Good breakfast and clean. Wish we could have had a better nights' sleep though or some resolution to our heating issue in our room with our thermostat being broken.

"Great service, odd but decent location"
tycosa, 29 Février 2016

The staff at the Pioneer Park Inn are fantastic. We arrived very early (9am) and although full the night before the staff was able to get us into a room in 30 minutes. Buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold foods. The property is hidden off the main drag but still is pretty close to everything you need, but nothing is walking distance. Our only complaint, which brought sleep quality down, was that the walls are so thin it felt like the mom talking to her kids in the next room were in the same with us. Plug ins for the car in winter were great also.

"Nice property but NOT great--customer service seems to NOT be a priority"
rla1947, 21 Février 2016

It is a nice hotel with indoor heated pool and fitness room. They do provide a complimentary taxi ride from the airport to the hotel BUT this information is NOT found on their website. We never had the opportunity to try their breakfast as the first morning we slept in since we arrived in Fairbanks at 2 AM and then arrived at the hotel about 3 AM as long wait for baggage and then taxi. When we did get up there was NO opportunity for cereal, yogurt or any continental breakfast type food--had to go to Denny's. Utilized their computer and n day one there was NO ink in the printer. When we returned on day six there was still NO ink for the printer--even though I brought it up previously. Noisy kids in the hallway was an issue and the desk agent said she would do nothing until 10 PM when the pool closed--we had to get up at 4 AM for a 6 AM flight so I had to say something to adults who were talking loudly outside of our door plus letting their 6 ids run up and down the hallways making loud noise. There was NO oversight of the pool or enforcement of pool rules. We would not let our 6 yo granddaughter go to the pool as lot of kids running, jumping into the pool and rough housing in the pool.

"Comfy quiet hotel adn great location for airport and events"
Kay L, 03 Février 2016

Our stay was comfortable, quiet and walking distance to Pioneer Park where we enjoyed the Alaska Salmon Bake and the Palace Theater show. Guest laundry facilities were a plus! Room was well apportioned and clean.

"Very nice experience"
Karen F, 31 Janvier 2016

We stayed for two nights here at the start of our land/cruise trip in Alaska. It was a very pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the pool was an added bonus. Pioneer park was a short walk away. Shuttle service (complementary taxi) from airport and to train station was really helpful, quick and convenient.

"Trip to Alaska"
Melissa C, 31 Janvier 2016

Pioneer Park Inn was very average in comparison to the other Best Western Chena River Lodge in Fairbanks!! The room still had a dirty towel on the back of the bathroom door when we arrived, and trash under the desk! It also appeared as if the room had not been dusted either! The rooms are nice, they just need to be CLEANED!!! Continental breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular, and we had to ask the front desk to refill the regular coffee!! The breakfast attendant didn't seem to be able to manage her job ver well!!! Not a horrible stay, but definitely not a great stay either! Disappointed! ??

"Awesome Employees!"
Willow2828, 26 Janvier 2016

Incredibly surprised by how considerate employees were. Mike ran back to hold the elevator for us. I couldn't believe it. Never experienced that in another hotel in Fairbanks. Also, our battery was dead in the morning and John, from maintenance used his own vehicle to give us a jump. We tried to give him money, however he adamantly refused. I even tried to throw it in his car and he blocked me from doing so. I am a lodge owner in Cantwell and very often travel to Fairbanks and Anchorage for overnight trips. This is by far the best experience I've ever had with helpful employees. Mike and John, were kind, considerate, thoughtful and very pleasant. Because of Mike and John I will now be making this my choice of hotel on my overnight excursions to Fairbanks every two weeks.

"Pleasant experience"
Barbara M, 24 Janvier 2016

Good hotel, Love the location! Park setting so close to town was peaceful. A bit tricky to locate at first. If you are vegetarian/ vegan/gluten free breakfast will be a challenge to find something you can eat. Hours for breakfast end early also-so if you have a late night flight you might not be able to sleep in. Facility was very clean and quiet. Park setting is gorgeous in the Winter, doesn't feel like you are close to downtown.

"Best place in Fairbanks"
Ernest W, 23 Janvier 2016

My wife and I have stayed at other places in Fairbanks, Alaska but seem to always come back to Best Western Pioneer Park. It is in a very quiet area of town but close to the heart of town as well. The staff are always helpful and nice and go out of their ways to make your stay a good experience. They seem to care and not take you for granted.

"Nice Location"
noah808, 18 Janvier 2016

The Hotel is in a secluded location close to hoo doo micro brewery. Next to a park. Pool is nice and heated. I accidentally left my computer mouse behind, I called 7 hours after I checked out and it took 3 phone calls and 3 emails before they found it. It was ready for me when I checked in this time. As I stay here every month.

"Excellent Staff"
Nathan P, 03 Janvier 2016

Everyone we dealt with was great. Our room was hot and we never got it figured out but we didn't ask for help either. Fairbanks was experiencing a heat wave when we were there so we chalked it up to that (40 degrees above zero in Dec/Jan). The pool was out of order when we visited and we ended up switching to a different hotel for that reason. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and very welcoming. We will stay here again if the pool is working!

"Best beds, best value!"
PATTY B, 15 Décembre 2015

This is my new go-to hotel whenever I stay in Fairbanks now. I used to prefer the Best Western Chena River Lodge, which that is still a top-notch hotel. (If I couldn't get a room at the BW Pioneer Park, I would go to the BW Chena River.) The main reason I switched over to the Pioneer Park is better winter 'plug-in' parking. You can park on either side of the hotel and almost all of the spots have plug-ins. I can also usually get this hotel for several dollars cheaper than over at the BW Chena River Lodge. This location is also a little more isolated and quiet. So if road noise bothers you in any way, shape or form, this location is nice and quiet. This location is also a little bit closer to the Sam's Club store, which is a regular stop for me on my shopping trips now. The breakfast area is a little smaller than over at the BW Chena River, but I've always found seating. I have noticed that the breakfast service has been a bit messy lately though, and often items are not refilled as often as you think they should be (even with plenty of time left in the service). Still, that's not a deal breaker for me; I will stay there again :-)

"Great location"
Clarence H, 13 Décembre 2015

The Hotel is located off busy streets but still located central to all activities. I like how secluded the hotel feels as it is set back and surrounded by forest. The room was very functional but you could tell it has been a few years since the remodel. The breakfast is exactly like you'd expect from a Best Western (waffle making station, fruit, yogurt, coffee....). We went when it was quite cold so we never used the pool, even though it was indoors.

"good value and location"
noah808, 08 Décembre 2015

A nice place to stay, its by a park in a wooded area. Very picturesque in the winter. a heated pool, and also you can plug in your car. Food is average. there is a micro brewery a block away that is really good with a food truck called hoo doo.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
James C, 02 Décembre 2015

I have not stayed in a Best Western in many years, because they have been on the lower end of the quality spectrum. I was impressed with the quality of this particular hotel. It was quiet and comfortable. It was not on a main road but tucked back in the woods. I liked that. If you don't have transportation it could be an issue getting other places. The room was plenty big enough and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was standard but varied slightly from day to day so I didn't eat the same thing every morning. Friendly staff..

"good service"
Jacqueline O, 30 Novembre 2015

first time with this hotel and I can say, pretty clean, quiet and good service. clean shower, comfortable bed, yummy breakfast and if only there's lunch and dinner. good workers great vibes in hotel, the only problem was it was too far from the main road, kind of good getaway for people that wants to get away from everyone.

"Fairbanks Best Western"
Althea H, 23 Novembre 2015

The night staff was both helpful and engaging, the room provided the best sleep I've had in months, and the only complaint I could muster (and I did have to rack my brains for it) is that the pool closes before midnight. There is no doubt in my mind that I would stay here again.

"Winter Wonderland"
RosaBonheur, 16 Novembre 2015

This hotel is in the middle of a wonderful location, surrounded by trees which in winter offer a beautiful experience. We had a marvellous visit to Fairbanks, enhanced by the comfort and cleanliness of this hotel. Breakfast was included, and we had huge rooms with extremely comfortable beds. Staff were brilliantly helpful, and service was excellent. There is no restaurant in the hotel, although they sell soft drinks, juice and snacks from the front desk. There is a swimming pool, which we didn't want to use, but it looked good and some guests had clearly used it. If you travel in winter, the road to the hotel was not cleared of snow during our visit. We had hired a 4x4 vehicle, so we had absolutely no difficulty driving in or out of the hotel grounds, nor throughout the rest of the city or region, within reason! There were electricity outlets for cars to use during cold weather. The hotel is situated in an excellent location for driving to the university as well as downtown Fairbanks.

"Nice Hotel for Relaxing Stay"
Sitthichai T, 13 Novembre 2015

This hotel has a good location, just a few minutes from downtown, restaurants, and shopping centers. The quality of room was decent as we got cozy bed and hot shower and room heating worked well to keep us warm from Fairbanks winter. One little flaw we had was the breakfast. We were told that breakfast was served 6-10 am but there was nothing when we got there at 9:30.

"Nice but Found Better"
Ray K, 29 Octobre 2015

The Room was nice, Standard BW Breakfast, it is not within walking distance of stores or restaurants. This place is nice for bike riding, it is also near an industrial area. Area is Quiet, Good service

"The rate was reasonable."
Robert V, 20 Octobre 2015

The staff was friendly. The housekeeping staff needs to do a better job cleaning the room, especially when only requested twice during 11 days. Hot breakfast food was average. Fresh fruit not available several days. There was vomit on the sidewalk/driveway every fourth day.

"Horrid Customer Service"
AkTomboy, 19 Octobre 2015

After staying here for many years this was the final straw. It took over 8 mins to get anyone to the front desk to check in despite my knocking on the counter, saying hello multiple times and then calling the hotel. Two people came out of the back room looking disheveled and annoyed to have to come to the desk to check me and the others who had come in after me in for our stays. In 4 days only 3 times was anyone at the front desk, all the times it was the cleaning staff in the morning. They stood around the desk looking at their phones, speaking of how the previous nights party was and how "trashed" they had gotten. Nothing my 7 year old should have to hear about while eating breakfast. Yet again the pool was down, with the standard answer of "it will be open tomorrow", along with no response to the questions of when it was last open. The employees of this hotel just flat do not have any cares or pride about the work they are doing. I love the comfy beds and large parking lot but the lack of any simple customer service, the concern of just anyone walking in past the front desk at any time and the pool that never works my family will no longer be staying at this hotel. A newer B.W. is right across town, has amazing reviews and is the same price!

"very average"
Majed A, 18 Octobre 2015

No variety of breakfast items, room service did not clean my room or change my bed sheets or vacuum ! I would say I paid a lot for this Hotel but I did not fully get what I paid for. Next time I would probably pay $100 more and stay at Westmark in Fairbanks. I did not like how I wasn't offered many options while checking in using cash instead of my credit card, they had to put $200 on hold on my credit card which pissed me off

"Nice hotel and very quiet location"
Mike P, 11 Octobre 2015

I was pleased to discover this property. It is a nice hotel with big, clean rooms and comfortable beds, located in a quiet, secluded area. Only drawback, not being located near anything, you will need a vehicle. A plus, weekend breakfast begins at 7am however they had 99% of it out and ready by 6:15am, for those who had early flights.

"Very quiet hotel, good if you have a rental car"
PlanWellHappyTravels, 30 Septembre 2015

I usually wouldn't recommend a chain hotel but hotels and service aren't really that great in Alaska. I don't know why, I lived in Hawaii and often would take holidays on other islands or in Waikiki for a weekend and had really good hotel experiences. Anyways, clean rooms, clean linens, comfy beds, a pool for a quick dip, a free breakfast including eggs, potato dish, bacon, fruit, yogurt and waffles. Is this really Alaska because I was able to do something without reaching for my wallet this morning. These things might seem like something you should just expect at a decent hotel but I found customer service was so poor in Alaska, this Best Western seemed like an Oasis. Really good value compared to everywhere else we stayed and the front staff was polite and friendly when I spoke with them in the mornings or coming back from sight seeing. This is not city center by any means but Anchorage is tiny if you have a car.

"Average"
vivianm589, 29 Septembre 2015

For the price I think the hotel could be more careful wit the noise and the thermostat. I had a constant noise throughout the night and when I mentioned to the clerk she said they were aware of it and it was a glycol running through the walls. She also said that the noise was prominent in 3 rooms, one of which was mine. Why put customers in those rooms? I was there out of season.

"BW Pioneer Park"
Douglas H, 28 Septembre 2015

An excellent value. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Te rooms are quite nice and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The hotel has an indoor pool and a well equipped fitness room.

"Beware of the Mis-Information I found on several websites"
pogosmail, 27 Septembre 2015

Part of the problems was the Trip Advisor website. I searched Fairbanks for hotels that provided Amenities of a Free Breakfast, Free Wi-Fi, Air Conditioning, Airport Transportation, and City Center. This hotel was listed. I went back just now and checked TA again. From the listing on the screen, it is NOT readily obvious that this hotel does NOT provide all my requirements. It is NOT City Center and does not provide Airport Transportation or a shuttle van 1.) The hotel told us after we paid $20 for a taxi from the Airport that if we had chosen a different taxi company (Yellow or Eagle Taxi), they would have paid for it. Why didn't they tell me in my confirmation email which taxi to choose or when I called them prior to arrival to confirm my reservation. 2.) The location is not in city center unless you really stretch the term 5 miles. It is located on the other side of the river and is isolate on a back road off a bigger road. At least they do have access to Pioneer Park via a walking bridge over the river and through the pathway in the dark woods. Shame on Trip Advisor for not making a stronger delineation when not all the requirements are met. If I had know there was no Airport or Shuttle Transportation provided I would have select the Chena River Lodge BW instead since it DOES have a shuttle for guests. During our 4 night stay, in order to reach restaurants, museums, activities, shopping, and medical care, we spent over $223 on 13 taxi trip of which 10 originated at the hotel and went within what they list as the City Center and on or near the route to the Airport or Train station; we were NOT reimbursed for any of these. We did learn a lot about the Fairbanks Bus Route System at their main downtown terminal and found it was often acceptable for returning to the hotel during daylight hours if the weather was good since there was a 1.5 mile walk from the nearest bus stop we found. I should have marked them down 2 stars instead of 1 star for all this, but the reminder of our experience at the hotel was VERY positive. I also contacted the BW800# and ask what the difference was between these two Fairbanks BW hotels. They told me the Pioneer had larger rooms per the front desk at this hotel. This hotel has the best mattress and best quality linens of all the places we stayed during our 18 day visit to Alaska. The room was large enough for two queen beds, a night stand, 2 lounge chairs, a table for dining, and a desk with chair. It also had a cabinet that held the nice size flat screen TV, small Microwave and mini Frig, along with several drawers for storage. The bathroom sink and counter were also in the bedroom along with 1 closet. The toilet and shower were in a separate room with door. The hotel provided plenty of fluffy white towels and toiletries and the 3 adults in our group never ran out of hot water in the bath/shower. The rooms, hallways, shared public areas and elevators were clean and fresh and generally well maintained. The TV had plenty of English TV channels. The rooms were quiet so you did not hear others in the hall or outside the window overlooking the parking lot. They do provide good blackout curtains for the midnight sun. Granted it was the end of summer, but the Air Conditioner will need a good reconditioning before next summer since it did not keep a consistent temperature level. The AC was necessary for our comfort and sleeping and was used every day. The Front Desk personnel were always responsive, helpful, and provided many suggestions as well as quickly calling taxi's for us as needed. (After our complaint at check-in, they never advised us to use a specific taxi company or to turn in receipts for reimbursement.) The computer and printer in the lobby came in especially handy when activity confirmations and waiver printing were necessary. One of the key reasons we select BW for our stay in Fairbanks was the Free Breakfast. It allowed us to start each day early and quickly. The Pioneer Inn provided a good hot breakfast with 3 fruit juices, coffees and teas, jars of bulk cereal and regular/whole or skim milk, instant oatmeal but no instant grits or cream of wheat, fresh hot waffles, fresh fruit, and a variety of breakfast breads, muffins and bagels. They provided plenty of condiments for the food items. The style of eggs and potatoes/starch varied each day. There was plenty of seating most days, but weekends it got a little cramped. You can take your room tray downstairs and bring breakfast to your room if you choose. We didn't use the exercise room or the pool. They have a washer and dryer room for guest use. Since they have no restaurant, they have a locked glass front cabinet displaying candy, crackers, drinks, and detergent for sale to guests instead of vending machines. Hint to Pioneer, the BW in Seward has vending machines that even have a selection of Ice Cream snacks. The hotel front desk did recommend some restaurants (none that I would return to or rave about). The hotel is not near the restaurants or activities you want as a tourist, but many of the other guests were there for work and liked the free parking that was very close to the hotel and well lit. If I do not have a vehicle, then I would not select this hotel, but if I did have my own vehicle or a rental car, then the Fairbanks Pioneer Inn is a great choice.

"Excellent staff; spotless room"
Rachael L, 24 Septembre 2015

The receptionists were extremely helpful and professional. The room was spotless. The pool was small but also very well kept. (not good for swimming but great for families). Room was enormous. Breakfast was a disappointment. Decor in the rooms is very 70s.
