Many guests at our Eugene hotel are in town for a Ducks game at Autzen Stadium or to visit the University of Oregon campus. Whether you're here for an event at Hayward Field or the Matthew Knight Arena, you need a Eugene hotel that's clean, comfortable and has a great location close to downtown. We're close to the University of Oregon athletic events and just a short drive from the Matt Knight Arena, so it's easy to quickly get to special events. Willamette Valley Wineries are a short drive away and there are many to explore. From the Oregon Country Fair to famous Oregon Ducks football, there's something for everyone near our Eugene hotel. Oregon Ducks basketball draws a crowd, and Oregon Ducks track and field is popular during the spring and summer months. Athletics are a way of life in this region, and we're happy to host Duck fans from around the nation. The Hult Center is also a popular destination, especially for business travelers. When you're traveling for work, you need a quiet, well-appointed room to get things done. The Federal Court House, Lane Events Center, university, and numerous local businesses all count on us to provide top notch accommodations for their out of town employees. In addition to a great location, our amenities are also designed with comfort in mind. Enjoy a relaxing day at our indoor pool. As a newly renovated hotel, we offer the cleanest, most comfortable accommodations in town. A state of the art fitness center is complemented with saunas, so it's easy to get that workout in or relax after a long day of football or work. Flat screen televisions are featured in every room because we understand how important relaxation is. However, it's our free breakfast that really makes us stand out. A daily buffet of hot pancakes, omelets, bacon, sausage, fresh fruits and pastries, cereals, yogurt, chilled juices and 100% Arabica coffee awaits guests. Reserve your renovated room at Best Western New Oregon for a great trip!
The top 3 factors in real estate value are location, location and location. UO is right across the street, and if you go around the corner you are on the bike/hike trail which goes along the river, and leads to a bridge across to the other side. Nice way to walk downtown. City bus stop is in the middle of the road right next to the hotel. Having said that, by no means is this a luxury resort, it's a roadside motel with doors opening onto the parking lot. The room was clean, the pool looked nice, the breakfast was decent, if a bit sparser than some of the midrange chains and the wifi worked. I'll note that I could pretty clearly see outside under the door, and something from the AC system irritated my sinuses. On the whole I would stay there again if visiting UO.
We stayed at this property for 2 nights. Overall experience was good. Rooms are nice and clean. Pool was clean as well. Loved the selection of the breakfast. People at reception were helpful, we ne ed ded microwave and they sent it in 15 min. A great stray for me.
We were here for one night on our way to Seattle. A fine stay. Room was standard -- nothing special, but no problems. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Pool and spa -- yea!!! Good breakfast included in common dining area. Very reasonable price. We were here at the end of June, so there wasn't much activity at the University (directly across the street). I imagine that when school is in session, things are much more crowded and busy.
Perfectly fine stay. Room was okay -- a standard room. No problems. Front desk staff very helpful. Nice pool and hot tub. Decent free breakfast. Price was right. Stayed just one night. Was there at the end of June, so there wasn't much activity at the University (directly across the street), but I imagine when school is in session the whole area would be more crowded.
I reviewed this motel in August of 2014, and everything I stated there is still true. It's entirely possible that, on this visit, we stayed in the very same room. That room, by the way, has a shower/tub combo, so it's not true that there are only shower stalls available here. The pillows are, in fact, a little smaller than normal (though not the square ones that Red Lion hotels use...), but we had FIVE of them on our king bed. Shampoo and conditioner come in smaller vials, but they were replaced every day. Towels were large and thick. I would add that the breakfast room has been enlarged, so was not quite as crowded-feeling as on our last visit. And we always appreciate a high level of pet-friendliness. So yes, this is still our go-to motel in Eugene.
I like most of its services - a spacious room; friendly and professional staff members; good-quality facilities; atmosphere; premiums in the room and around the hotel; food quality; and its locations!. However, some staff were hard to deal with; my room has a low ceiling (not that bad); the food is rotated every day (but only one food/meat), or it will not be rotated for some days (in my experience as I stayed for 7 days.) It's located close to University of Oregon, and you could find restaurants and hypermarkets nearby.
I liked the hotel because it was clean and quiet and close to the University of Oregon. Not an upscale hotel by any means but kept really nice. Good enough for us. I would recommend it. PS. Why so small pillows?
My daughter and I were visiting Eugene on a college tour and stayed at BW New Oregon the night before our scheduled visit. It is a bit confusing because there is another Best Western just a block away so make sure you are booking the right one and driving to the right one when you arrive. Rooms were comfortable and rate was very reasonable. Highly recommend!
I stayed at this property to visit my son on the campus of University of Oregon. It was great stay in every category. Breakfast selection was awesome. Room was very clean and in working order. Spotless. Front desk staff had great service and the GM Matthew Victor was very professional. Would highly recommend this property for anyone to stay at when visiting Eugene. Will stay at this property in the future!
Right acsross the street from U of O, not to big of a hotel, great breakfast, clean, pet friendly, and everyone is nice and helpful. And I mean nice!! You can walk to the park, bike, etc.-it's right behind you and eating is near you too. Love this place
This hotel was clean, offers complimentary breakfast, and the staff was friendly. It was great for our one night stay as we were passing through. It does have a pool however the entrance is outside and not necessarily close to the rooms, which makes for a cold walk.
We stayed here on April 22, 2018. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My mom fell out of bed and staffed checked on here while I was at mass. She is very disabled and was happy they checked to see if she needed help. 5 star service room was amazing. Thank you housekeeping the room was so clean. Loved the pool was great. Breakfast was great and staff was there to get anything we needed or ask question. Thanks for 5 star Visit. I will recommend to all.
Attention to detail is above average. Very comfortable bed and extremely clean room. The breakfast was better than expected. Every staff member wanted to do a good job.Even the grounds around the property are well taken care of. We will go back.
We were in Eugene specifically to visit UO and the New Oregon is just across the street. Check-in was quick and pleasant and room was small but clean and comfortable and seemed to have been updated. Breakfast bar in the morning was generously stocked. Will definitely stay there next time in town.
Stayed here Christmas week. Front desk staff was great. Pool is a nice area. Rooms are updated. Housekeeping could use a little help as we found things here and there that needed clean. I use to work at a Best Western and they definitely wouldn't have passed the black light test. Would post pictures but their on another phone. Would stay here again though.
Check in was smooth guest services were nice. Room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Was worried about the road noise but we didn't hear any. Breakfast was organized well, and good selection/variety. Hot tub/pool area was also clean.
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western, New Oregon in Eugene. I loved how close it was to restaurants & coffee shops. I took my morning walk to a coffee shop, very nice. Clean, affordable & friendly staff. Will definitely be back!
I stayed there for my son's Mom's Weekend and we took in the Duck football game. This location was situated near the dorms, and along the path to the football stadium. I was able to access my room for changes of clothes easily throughout the day/evening. Definitely booking for graduation!
We had been driving for over 1600 miles with a truck and trailer and found this hotel. I need a ADA shower and this nice BW had two queen beds and a beautiful ADA shower. We were treated vewry kindly and had a good stay.
Great customer service. Large clean, comfy room, good price. We had a room with a river view, balcony with 2 chairs. Great breakfast: Sausage, eggs, muffins, oatmeal, pancakes, etc. The room smelled a little musty when we walked in but no big deal. Highly recommend, we would definitely stay here again.
Always a pleasure to stay here and especially surprised to see the expanded and updated breakfast area. The bed is one of the best that I have slept on, especially comfortable. The room decor is pleasant.
I really liked the family suite, it had enough room for the whole family. The breakfast items were really good as well. My children enjoyed the pool. There are 3 buildings so you might have to walk a little bit to get to the pool and breakfast area. Pool is not really heated but it was ok.
basic nice hotel. not too fancy. but very very conveniently located. big parking lot. toiletries a bit lame. room seems small but i think it's because of the silly configuration of desk to bed. no walking room. had to crawl over bed to get to front door because the space between desk and bed is very narrow. so with a chair there, zero space to walk.
Very nicely located across from OU. Coffee and food within walking distance of the hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Lots of parking space. Staff members are friendly and helpful. Breakfast room can get very crowded. But there is a nice selection of items every day .
We showed up early at the motel and we were told our room would be ready in an hour to an hour and a half. So we left and i got a call saying that they ended up upgrading us to the family sweet at no extra charge. Our stay was amazing and my kids really enjoyed the pool. And the breakfast was a wide variety that everyone found something they enjoyed eating.
Nice people and good service. Clean rooms good breakfast. The collage is next to the hotel. Downtown not far away enjoyed the stay. The breakfast staff and seemed to care that the food was fresh and full.
I needed to stay at a pet friendly motel and found this one on line, threw this app. The room Clean and nice. The dogs felt comfortable and the pet rooms our all downstairs. The trails right behind the motel go on forever and take you over the bridge to a dog park and the football arena.I felt Very safe walking, many others walking mainly college students and some bikes. There was even A patrol car there which was nice. Perfect walk for me and the dogs! The breakfast was one of the best I have had in years at a motel for free! And the staff was really good at keeping everything stocked well & very friendly. The front desk was also friendly.great location across from UofO and we walked to Market of choice across the street and lots of restaurants to walk to. I will stay again. Also the indoor pool Is very nice and the price was great??
Right across from Knight arena, thjis hotel is easy to find, good access to different eating establishments and good off and on the freeway. The rooms are nice, the breakfast area is pkeasant, and clean
Good value for the super convenient location to the University of Oregon as well as several restaurants, though one has to cross a very busy road, which is dangerous at night (there are signals and crosswalks). In terms of room, carpets and sheets were in good condition- the sleeping part of the room was overall very clean. However, the bathroom was more dingy and even had an ant infestation. The staff member at the check in desk was not very friendly when I asked how to get to my room. She seemed to assume I should somehow know already. Breakfast was quite good and included so overall a great option for a quick stay.
Stayed here again for the Miranda Lambert concert. Just walk a few blocks and bam, you are at the Mathew Knight Arena. Room is clean, beds comfy. Front desk very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is good. Hot and cold selections. Will stay here again for the next concert.
My son and I stopped here while traveling from Nevada to Washington as a last-minute plan we were able to get the great room at a reasonable rate and even enjoy the pool and hot tub until midnight. They also had a great full breakfast in the morning. Very clean and great spot for the price.
Our stay was wonderful. The staff all were so friendly. Our room was spacious and had been renovated. The pool and hot tub were great. The sauna was found in the bathroom/changing room (no coed). Our room was not overly noisy. The beds were so comfortable that we wanted to take themhome with us. The breakfast had many choices for all ages. We will definitely be back. The best part was we could walk to Matt knight Arena.
Clean, efficient, but no towel holder, loud heat, no blankets, no hair conditioner, basic free breakfast. Street nose and noisy visiting sports people. But cheap, so really perfect for a single night. And right across the street from UO
Excellent price. The property was very well maintained. Right across the street from the U of O. The part I stayed in was one story, which was nice. This is an older property, so it seemed to be built solid, rooms are quiet. The property felt safe. It's a budget motel (as reflected in the price), so don't expect frills (minimalist toiletries, no tub, just shower). But you can expect a very clean room, comfy bed, friendly staff, several hot breakfast options & great wi-fi. I'd stay here again for sure.
We have had to stay in hotels multiple times over the past year. Best Western Plus has been our favorite. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, the staff is very nice and the full breakfast is wonderful!
Nice motel for the price. Good location minutes from Downtown across the street from the U of O. Decent eating establishments within walking distance. Sams next door has great food and drink selection!
A wonderful . Comfortable place to stop for a night or a week. Loved the breakfast staff. Most friendly and effecient of any Best Western hotel. The balcony was right over th e little stream. Close to Evergreen Ti restruarant and U of O.
Arrived late very tired. Samantha was such a warm and welcoming person. Made sure I had everything We needed. Offered us hot coffee and a smile. Evening local paper. Traveling with a service dog and made sure I had no other special needs Heading back home will stay there again next week.
The BW New Oregon in Eugene, Oregon seemed a notch above some of the non-BW hotels that we have used. It was very convenient to the city of Eugene which gave use access to many places to go on the U of 0 campus. We will definitely choose this hotel again while in Eugene. The comfort of the beds and the quietness of the place is a real plus.
The stay was good. Maybe a little noisy at night being next to a busy street. There are also two Best Western hotels about 100 yards apart so make sure you pay attention to which one you are at. Lots of great places to eat and if you like good Indian Food you are in luck because there is one so close you can walk there quicker then driving. Will stay again when in the area.
Traveling from Washington to California. Stopped for the night. Had a small dog with us. Found this motel on TripAdvisor. Reviews were good. I can add ours to the others. Very pleased with the room and the pleasant staff. Many places to eat within walking distance. Would stay again.
This was my third time staying here. We stay here for concerts at the Matthew Knight Arena because it's right across the street! The rooms are nice, clean and cozy! It's close to a lot of good restaurants also. We will always stay here when in Eugene!
Very nice motel, clean and comfortable. Beds very nice but to soft for my husband. Great breakfast in the morning. Location of motel was a little difficult to get back to I-5 with one way streets and no left turns.
Overall the experience was good. The potatoes at breakfast was salty. Other then that the service was good, the amenities where decent and the location was easy to access. The bed was hard on the sides but soft in the middle so it felt like you got sucked into the bed.
Good news: room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bad news: TV remote was complicated and could get no signal, bathroom glass was broken, frig was too warm then too cold (froze all my food), room smelled perfumy (bugged my allergies) and shower head was like 20 years old and dribbled or pounded me (only two choices). Water was warm enough, though. Hallway smelled like mold (or worse).
Great hotel across from University of Oregon. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. We had a king bedded room with a fairly large television. The complimentary breakfast had lots of menu choices. There was a Starbucks two blocks away. And, the hotel was easily accessible to I-5.
We stayed overnight for holiday shopping. The property was clean and the staff was excellent. The only issue was the bed was way too soft and we did not sleep well. Great location. The prices was great!
This hotel carries a 3 star rating - but it is extremely well kept and a great place. The staff and service is great. I am members of two other national chain hotel rewards programs (that would be considered higher star properties and both of whom have location options in Eugene area). Despite that, the BW New Oregon became my go-to place to stay when I came to Eugene to visit my son the past 5 years (I have stayed here on 10 different trips for a total of approximately 40 nights). The location is great and it has all that I need for my stays. It is also a great place to stay for a Duck's football weekend.
We appreciated that this hotel allowed pets. However, with a $30 pet service charge, I expected a clean room. Instead, the upholstered chair in our room was covered in pet hair from the previous guest, it was disgusting. Also, the lighting in the room was poor, I expected to be able to use the full length mirror while the bathroom was occupied, but there was no light, so the mirror was absolutely useless.
Obviously, a converted "no-tell" motel. Breakfast was good - everything else wasn't. Bed was stiff. I stayed up half the night listening to the roar of the heating, and I couldn't use my laptop with the tv. This isn't the 20th Century any more.
Front desk was not helpful, rooms are small, decorated nice , quiet room, Beds were just Ok- not as nice as other best western, breakfast was very good and so was the coffee, but I wouldn't come back on our return drive
Check in and out was smooth, the room was clean but the bed was way past time to throw out. My husband and I had to sleep on the edge, otherwise we rolled into the center that was a good 4 inches lower than the edge. By morning both our backs hurt. Breakfast was good and hot, but no whole milk for cereal.
We always enjoy staying at the New Oregon when we come to Eugene. Love the indoor pool and hot tub, but most of all the awesome staff! They are very helpful! The breakfast is amazing for a free breakfast. We will always stay here when a room is available. Never disappointed!
This is our favorite hotel to stay while visiting our student at UO (right across the street). There is plenty of parking and the grounds are nicely kept. Check-in was quick and professional (as normal). There are places to eat within easy walking distance and a Starbucks about 3 blocks away. Breakfast is in a very nicely decorated room and the dining staff keep it very clean AND well stocked. I always try to show our appreciation by leaving a daily tip by the coffee pots. Our room was nice, but did have a slight odor which dissipated when we left the door open. Parking is plentiful (but does fill up at night). The bed was GREAT and there were plenty of towels. We did have water pipes noises and reported to maintenance. Overall another great stay in Eugene and look forward to returning in the Spring.
Older hotel but very clean and well kept. Very nice breakfast for guests. Perfect location if visiting the college. Suggest requesting a 2nd floor unit toward the back of hotel to reduce noise. Nice balcony over looking small creek with ducks.
We try to stay here everytime we visit Eugene, OR and the University of Oregon. Rooms are comfortable. Really like the rooms on the Mill Race and feeding the ducks off the balcony. The breakfasts are good and the breakfast room staff are awesome!
This hotel is so appreciated. The rate is usually quite fair for all they offer - a convenient location close to a great market and lots of good rrestaurants, caring and relaxed staff, and a wonderful pool and hot tub. I just discovered that they have a sauna too - can't wait to try it next time i stay there.
Good hotel for visiting UofO. Nothing fancy but good location especially if attending basketball or football games. Rooms are clean and showers are good. Breakfast is provided but it is nothing special just filling food. Get the rooms overlooking the creek as they are much nicer then the other rooms with sliding doors and a patio.
Stayed here for a University visit. Directly opposite from the University, didn't need to drive there, just walked across the street. Typical Best Western rooms, 2 queen beds and bathroom. Warm enough and quiet enough. Room was clean and beds were comfortable.
Wonderful place to stay in Eugene, especially if you are visiting a student at U of O. The hotel is literally across the street from the University and at the beginning of the beautiful trail leading to Autzen Stadium. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is included. It's simple but hits the spot. Prices are very reasonable. We always stay her when we in Eugene.
Pictures manage to make it look a lot better than it actually is.... extremely plain rooms, terrible breakfast, Custer Service is lacking... only pro was the comfortable bed. I don't think I'd recommend this. Only reason I kept reservation was because it was very close to U of O, where my brother is
We loved our stay at this location — the motel configuration is great. We were able to park right outside the door our room. Room was clean, well-appointed and the balcony overlooking the little creek, next to the bridge and park path, was fantastic. We watched ducks and a raccoon from the comfort of our enclosed view. Very happy with quality and amenities for the price.
My husband & I were generally pleased with the cleanliness and facilities at The Best Western in Eugene. However when I locked the bathroom door from the inside, the door stuck and I couldn't get out. Luckily, my husband was in the room and help me get out.
The room was mold ridden, the open door is too noisy, and the rest of the property isn't worth it. They should tear down and put a better hotel on the property. The location is being wasted. There must be a better option in the area.
Very close to shopping across the street from Mathew night arena. It's more of a motel than a hotel tho. Good breakfast with a large variety. Beds were very soft and decently comfortable. Hot tub and pool were nice.
If you like Ducks (the football team, not the animal), the university is right across the street. Getting to/from fast food is difficult from the hotel's location but that's not the hotel's fault. Get a creek-view room if you like ducks (the animal, not the football team). The rooms are mildly dated but overall, very usable and clean. The internet was actually really good compared to other hotels I've been to in that the streaming media has very few bandwidth issues and was very watchable. The staff is really nice and the breakfast was better than most hotels with similar that I've been to.
The front desk staff was fabulous! She was pleasant and helpful! The room both looked and smelled clean. Great value. The balcony over the creek with all the ducks was an excellent bonus! Would definitely recommend!
This is a nicely appointed, comfy place to stay close to the U of O. Clean, good beds, great coffee, and a better than average breakfast. Nice greenbelt view behind building. Close to public transportation and campus plus lots of services.
Hotel provided extra towels to clean muddy dog paws. Lots of grassy areas for dogs to sniff around. If pouring rain you can always walk the inner perimeter of the hotel which is covered and carpeted. Full breakfast is a bonus.
Thank you so much Best Western new Oregon.. what a delightful week.. Never been to Oregon but was much felt home at this hotel..Wondering what to do why son at work.. no problem.. fed the ducks.. walked to urban gardens.. picked black berries.. visited the college..easy access to bus down town.. housekeeping was the best..wish I had their names.. thanks to Best western New Oregon in Eugene Oregon!!!!
I've stayed here multiple times because the location is good, but doubt that I will ever go back. Breakfast was terrible. Room smelled, on both occasions that I stayed there in September, but bathroom was clean. I don't like that they upped the price $100 more a night than usual because there was a college football game going on that weekend.
Have use this place many times during the last year the staff is friendly dog friendly and close to everything that we need to do.our visits have been around medical and they are extremely convenient within a mile from most of our doctors 2 miles great restaurants right next door and down the street very friendly staff
All I have to say is everything was perfect! we really care about the cleanliness. The Location was Great close to everything we needed. the river view with the ducks was so nice, I just wish we could have stayed longer. We only stayed one night.
We stayed at the BW because it was centrally located to the areas we had planned to visit. It was clean, the bed was comfortable. Breakfasts were very good to have to start our days of travel. All of the staff that we met were friendly.
We ended up at this Best Western by accident thinking it wasn't the one across from the univerisity campus. It was that one and it was quite worn and old feeling. They did not let us know the time for Sunday continental breakfast when we got in late after shooting a wedding. Then there was no coffee in the lobby and the guy just looked at my husband trying to get some and saw it was out and didn't offer more. Worst Best Western I've ever stayed in.
This is the first time we stay in Eugene, pick this hotel by random, but was quite satisfied with the service received: hotel staff, breakfast (with pancake maker, no waffle iron though!). The back of the further building facing with a creek, lots of ducks swimming, really nice entertainment!
Overall experience was very good. BW Greentree and New Oregon are conveniently located across the street from University of Oregon and walking distance to restaurants. I have stayed there 3 times and have been satisfied with each visit.
Great location across from University of Oregon campus, with easy access to good restaurants and other local amenities. Hotel was attractive, parking is plentiful, room access is handy to parking. Breakfast is typical hotel fare these days, but above standard in variety, presentation, quality. Breakfast room is spacious, no crowding or waiting for tables. Coffee was disappointing (a not uncommon experience). Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, attractive, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Usual amenities -- fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Only very minor complaint was that TV offerings are substandard, and our in-room remote worked so poorly, we just gave up. Because our time in the room was brief, we didn't bother to report the problem -- most likely the staff would have promptly replaced the remote if we had. All in all, a great stay and excellent value at the price ($88). Would definitely stay here again.
I and my two best friends booked one of the junior suites (three queen beds, one shared toilet & shower, two separate vanity/sink areas) for our girls weekend getaway and could not have been happier. The location of the property was perfect for everything we were doing that weekend and the staff was great. The location of the junior suite was even nicer as we had a large balcony overlooking the mill race which meant it was quiet/peaceful, and no traffic noise whatsoever for our room. There was a bit of a glitch in getting our three room keys to work properly but the staff was incredibly helpful, calm and very accommodating. I will book/stay here again.
The New Oregon was an excellent stay. The room we had was on a little canal water way and it was fun to watch the ducks swimming. I suppose mosquitoes could be a problem but I didn't notice any. The breakfast was good. The pool was a bit cold so didn't use it. Everything was clean and well maintained. My only problem was trying to get around on the streets of Eugene, it was hard to find this location.
The Best Western New Oregon Inn is a great hotel with excellent accommodations, internet access, breakfast, and a caring staff. I would definitely stay there again! The scrambled eggs are especially good!
I booked this hotel via Priceline Express for a non-refundable rate of $85/night. Situated across the street from the University of Oregon, its layout is primarily in a large open one-story square. Guest parking is free and most guests park in front of their exterior door; this is a typical motor hotel layout. Front desk: Not the friendliest at check-in but it got the job done after a long drive. The gal working the desk when I left was modestly friendly. Room: I was placed at the side furthest from the road, which also bordered the creek in the back. Visible from the room's window, it wasn't particularly scenic but ensured that there would not be too much noise. The neighboring rooms could be a bit boisterous but it was to be expected since there was a lot of turnover in the morning and evening hours. Due to its location, I think there are a lot of college parents staying here as well as interstate travelers making an overnight stop here. The room is large but showing its age: one queen bed with a slightly lumpy mattress, quality bed sheets but a bit thin bath towels, ample work desk, an armchair and ottoman, large flat-screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge, small closet, and a well-worn but functional bathroom. The air conditioner was quite loud: the positive is that it drowned out any chatter from passing guests but the negative is that it drowned out the TV and would make it difficult to sleep through. I pack foam earplugs so this solved the noise issue while allowing me to keep the room cool at night. Housekeeping was spectacular each day in making up my bed, taking the trash, vacuuming, and restocking the bath supplies. It was great to see them each day in the halls attending to the other rooms and I enjoyed leaving them each day's tip for a job well done. A special compliment for keeping the carpets clean – I often wear a pair of socks in the room to avoid tracking dirt into bed and the socks were largely clean at the end of the visit. Maintenance staff was also seen moving with energy through the property. Free breakfast: I like the fact that guests have to use their key card to enter the building with the breakfast area. The breakfast was a standard buffet: cereals, milk, juice, coffee, yogurt, eggs, meats, and waffles were all present. The highlight was one staff member who carefully tended to replenishing and tidying up; she also cheerfully answered guest requests. I made a point of handing her a tip to acknowledge that a great attitude should be rewarded – I wish I got her name! Overall, this motor hotel is a good value for a short stay in the cute college town of Eugene. If you want luxury, you'll need to find another place. Visitors could easily be happy with this property, whether due to a visit to U of O or exploring the local area. Unfortunately our room had a terrible odor. The front desk manager tried to help by spraying a fresher in our room which helped a little bit. We were very disappointed. We will not be staying at the Best Western New Oregon again.
Our room was in the older part of the hotel - 1st floor - with access into the room straight from the parking lot. I didn't realize that would be the case when I booked based on the photos - with a little kiddo, I wasn't too crazy about that set-up, but thankfully we had two adults to monitor things. The room was clean but smelled a bit musty, and the A/C was hard to adjust to be "just right" as it's a window unit . The hotel breakfast buffet was fine (hot food, cereals, pastries, etc.) and the pool with hot tub was better than anticipated.
If you are looking for a hotel close to the University of Oregon, you plan to stay 1 night, and you aren't too concerned about the quality of the room, this may be a good hotel for you. We, however, were in town for an 8 day stay, and were looking for a place that would make a comfortable place to spend our evenings. The New Oregon Best Western is not that place. We had a King room with a Balcony view. The room was OK in size - not big, but not tiny. The only comfortable chair was placed directly in front of the air conditioning unit, so it was freezing to sit there and it also prevented the cool air from effectively getting to the rest of the room. We ended up moving the chair to the other side of the room. The A/C unit was also very very loud, and didn't cool effectively so it was continually on, which was quite annoying at night. There was no screen in the sliding glass door, so we couldn't take advantage of the lovely, cool night and let some fresh air into the room. There are a microwave and cube fridge, but the fridge is at floor level, so you have to get on your hands and knees to get to it. It also didn't cool very well The room itself was very dark, both in decor (deep brown furniture and dark beige/brown striped carpet) and dim light bulbs. There is also no night light in the room. This all contributed to my very tired (but sober!) husband breaking his toe during the middle of the night when he got up to use the bathroom. Then, the toilet backed up. They came very quickly, but wanted to just hand us the plunger. By this time I was fed up, and I told them that they needed to fix their own toilet... And that was enough - we left the hotel after only 2 nights and moved to the La Quinta; it's farther from the University, but infinitely nicer. On the plus side, the shower at the New Oregon had great flow and plenty of hot water. The bed was on the hard side, which I like, and was comfortable The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was good. We didn't use the pool or gym, so I can't speak to those amenities.
We stayed here for a college visit for my son. First off, the location is directly across from the University of Oregon, couldn't be a better location for the tour. Hotel was clean, fairly basic rooms, and somewhat cozy....but this is what to expect and wasn't an issue. We stay at some BW properties when we are road trips, as they are a good choice outside of the larger chains. They are clean and dependable, and staff was great. We would stay here again.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and breakfast was hot and very good. Hotel was easy to find and to get in and out of. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Price was reasonable and easy to check in and out.
Overall hotel was nice. There was an error with the hotel being overbooked and my room being given away, but it was rectified (not handled how I would have preferred, but corrected). Everything was clean and tidy. Beds overly soft, but pillows great. Clean bathroom and shower. Did not get a chance to check out the breakfast, but continental breakfast is included.
Hotel is directly across from Univ. of Oregon campus. Easy walk to campus and restaurants. Nice rooms, very friendly staff. There was plenty of parking, free wifi that worked well, quiet, clean, comfortable beds. If I am in Eugene again I will definitely stay at Best Western New Oregon.
I would recommend a stay here anytime. The room was neat and had a very professional cleaning done (great job to the cleaning staff)! And the breakfast was WAY better than an equal option at a similar hotel offering coffee and donuts...yuk! This place is very clean and the food was excellent! And the staff are great to the customers!
Spent one night in New Oregon Best Western. Bed was lumply, Wife complained that she was being bitten by bugs, and the room had a musty smell. Checked out the pool, it looked uninviting and we didn't go in. Cheap hotel. Not a pleasant one night stay.
This is an outstanding hotel. The room was super clan and ready when I arrived. The only problem was I had reserved a room by the river but I ended on the inside. Didn't complain so it's my fault. They could have checked my reservation. I do however recommend this motel because the staff is super. The have made lots of improvements with breakfast. The rooms are super and I Gus's that is one reason I didn't complain about the room mix up. Stay here it is worth the pay and acrostic the street from the mighty ducks
Location is perfect, service staff was great, breakfast was lovely, but room 173 is a nightmare. Accessible only through a back entrance off someone else's private (and locked) residential driveway, 173 is located in the sub-basement of the BW. Spiders drop from the ceilings. Plumbing is questionable. The ceilings are barely 6 feet high. There is no way off the property except to climb through a cavernous staircase and through a slalom of doors. One requires a room key to get back into civilization by accessing a rear fire door. My advice to hotel management is to lock up room 173 and throw away the key. Leave it for the spiders, they seem to own the space anyway. But again, pleasant staff, great location, decent breakfast.
If you are traveling to the University of Oregon this is the place to stay. It is located directly across the street from the school. The staff are pleasant and helpful. There are great restaurants in walking distance along with a market and convenient store.
Our one night stay at this Best Western was very nice. The room was very neat and clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was beyond continental and delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. A great stay overall!
There are rooms with a a river view we were not able to get one but I would request if I visited next time large spread out motel there are many where u drive up to the door but I skip those cuz of the noise. we had a room in the back and much quieter
Close to campus. Clean but so very worn. Room floor was slanted and door had a gap at the bottom. Cannot imagine what a winter stay would be like. Breakfast was OK but so very cramped if more than 5 people hard to get to the food.
Nice view; non best western restaurant on site just ok. To get to restaurant Is a bit of a maze if you are staying at other end of hotel. Miss not having the free breakfast like many other best western locations.
There were two BWs within yards of each other in the University area.Older hotel, very quiet with a great bed! Stayed there for the better part of a week. Strongly recommended! Will definitely add this one to the list.
We stopped at this BW hotel in Eugene. The staff are great and the hotel overall is in great condition. The breakfast is good and the choices are better than other Best Western hotels. This is a great stop if you are in your way to Seattle.
Had 3 adults and 2 children in our group. The room was very nice with a front room with a bed and fold out couch and also had a separate sleeping room with a door to keep things quite and private for everyone!
Our room was located on Mkllrace which was nice, however, there was no screen door to enable us to leave door open and get cool night fresh air in room. Lots of bugs in Millrace so a screen door is a must. Beds were horribly soft and bouncy and not comfortable at all. A/C wAll mounted unit was so loud it was like and airplane and rattled and kept us up all night long. Water pressure in morning for shower was nightmare and burned me then froze me 2 seconds later as other rooms would turn on their water.
Hotel is close to the University of Oregon, within walking distance. So if you are there for a family event or visiting a student it's perfect. Price was good for amenities, staff was courteous. Breakfast was good with a variety of foods/beverages to choose from. There are a few places around to eat, which are also good.
We were very comfortable in this hotel, and enjoyed the room amenities and free full warm and/or cold breakfast. Sorry we never got to use the pool, had to leave right after breakfast. But it looked lovely:)
If you are a parent visiting a student at the Univ of Oregon this is one of the best places to stay. It is directly across the street from the school and within walking distances to anywhere on campus and the closest motel to the dorms. The motel has different room layouts, prices and can accommodate a multiple of family groups. I have now stayed three times and I have not had a problem with anything. The staff is local and very helpful with suggestions on dinning, shops and things to do. Breakfast provided is not 5 stars but for the price it is much better than most who offer free breakfast. We have two more trip planed to the school and I have already booked the rooms. I would say it does fill up fast so book ahead.
Perfect location, university is right across the street. The rooms were clean and spacious. Iron and board, coffee, fridge, microwave. Adequate breakfast. Pool, gym, and sauna! So why did I give it a 1? Well, the rooms are all non-smoking. I'm cool with that, smoking stinks. So I found a little, covered patio for employees. They didn't seem to mind my using it but the manager came and fussed me out
We spent 1 night in this hotel and were given a corner room, number 201. The room itself was fine, spacious, decent beds, clean, and all the things in order, i.e. towels, soap, etc. There were two problems. One it's right on the corner of an intersection, literally a sidewalk away from the road. So there is a fair bit of traffic noise, plus a constant annoying beeping of a pedestrian traffic light. If you turn on the A/C, which we didn't it might drown out some of this, but either way it was fairly noisy. The other issue with this room was the wifi. The signal was at times weak or would disconnect depending on where you were in the room. Frontdesk were aware of this, but we "found out". Just a "sorry" is what we got! Breakfast was very good, plenty of selection and choice. The staff there, 3 ladies, were constantly replenishing the food, making sure tables were cleaned and ready when people left, and very helpful and pleasant. That was a really good experience and I want to commend them for an excellent service! Hotel has free parking. I would stay again probably, just not in one of those corner rooms!
perfect spot to stay when i took my daughter to UO Orientation. campus is a quick walk across the street. also a 1 mile quick walk to Autzen stadium. clean room, friendly staff, reasonable price. overall great place
Very nice, clean, and friendly staff. Right across from University of Oregon campus which was nice when we needed to get out for a walk. My kids loved the campus and they felt safe. I would recommend.
Hotel was very clean. Loved the view of the little river behind the hotel. No noise issues and so close to many fun things in the Eugene area. Check out the Eugene Ale Trail and U of O just across the street. Breakfast had great variety and was delicious. Internet worked great. If you stay out late parking can fill up but otherwise no issues.
The rooms are run down and stink like mold and mildew. Staff not helpful. Breakfast hours too short if you like to sleep in a bit. Rooms very noisy. You can hear all of your neighbors and when someone above walks, it sounds like the ceiling might cave in. Bed very uncomfortable. Stay somewhere else.
The trails near hotel were wonderful. The hotel is across from Oregon state college. Different times of year it may be difficult to just get a room for one night when traveling through too next destination without reservation.
Spent one night as we were just passing thru town. Very clean, very room, and a great water front view. My one and only complaint, no elevator but would stay again. Very good complimentary breakfast. Right across the street to the University. Great restaurant next door.
We stayed here on our way from Seattle to Lassen National Forest. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and spacious for our party of five. What we loved most was the fabulous breakfast the next morning. Delicious omlets and a variety of other items to select. It was a nice surprise.
We only had one night this time, but will be back. We have a new UO student that we will be visiting often. The people were really nice and it's really close to campus. We slept well, had surprisingly strong water pressure, and a good breakfast.
Had a great stay. The view rooms are worth it to me. Get ground floor if you don't like to carry luggage upstairs. Comfortable beds, nice art. The carpet seemed a bit retro though, whatever. Best quality bacon I've seen at any Best Western(maybe a couple more minutes cook time?). Melon was also provided beside all the other normal options. Breakfast was popular and the staff did a good job keeping up with demand in what I feel was an awkward layout. Would stay again.
Decent hotel and very convenient when visiting U OF O. Be warned though, the wifi here does not work, at all. If you have work to get done while you are here, you will be using your phone's data service.
This hotel is possibly the oldest creepiest hotel ever! Having never been to Eugene OR we selected it because it is right across from the university. Big big mistake! First of all the room was dingy, old & smelled musty, the drawers in the dresser wouldn't stay shut because the room was slanted so badly. Yes that's right - slanted! As you went toward the bathroom you had to duck so as not to hit the ceiling (& I'm short 5 ft even) it slanted down so badly at an angle! It looked like this side of the hotel was built at an angle to accomodate the slope of the roof. If you look at the hotel it has a chalet style roof which it seems they added this room (& side) as an after thought but didn't bother to level the foundation under it nor raise the roof to accomodate the new dimensions of the room. Bottom line shabbily built, worse excuse for a room, we booked for an extended stay left next morning. There are much better hotels perhaps a tad bit farther from the university but I'd rather put up with a tad bit farther room at a better price than this over-priced sorry excuse fir a hotel. Seriously avoid this place at all costs!
We stayed at the New Oregon location as a pit stop to Crater Lake. The interior appearance does look a motel with the typical Best Western decor. The pool and fitness center were closed when we arrived, which was disappointing for the kids b/c they like to swim. However, the breakfast location was nice and big.
We had a nice three day stay. The pool was refreshing. Great Breakfasts each morning. The event we were attending was the Black Sheep Gathering which was held at the Lane Co. Fairgrounds. The hotel was within easy driving distance to the Fairgrounds and downtown. We have stayed at this location for three years in a row for this event and will be back to stay again.
Across the street from university and the knight arena. We chose it because we like the best western chain. Walkable to several places for dinner or lunch. The facility with pool is indoors but opens to outside sitting area.
needed a hotel close to campus for student class registration. this is now my favorite hotel in Eugene. not more than a 10 minute walk to union. clean baths ,hot shower and comfortable beds. hot complimentary breakfast.
Both mattresses were bad. When you laid down you rolled into the center of the bed. Not good for two people in the same bed. We chose not to complain, however we stayed for four days and turned out to be sleep deprived form the experience.
Stayed here for 2017 graduation, as this is my "go-to" hotel in Eugene. (I had to call directly to hotel in Sept 2016 to get the graduation dates booked). This hotel is directly across the street from the University of Oregon, which made walking to the Matt Knight arena and then school graduations, quite easy. Otherwise, people must park at Autzen Stadium and then get shuttled to the campus. Our room was very clean with good bathroom amenities, fluffy towels, lots of coffee and a very comfortable bed and pillows. We stayed in the 2 story building, on the top floor with a view of the creek, so it was away from the street and we had very little noise. The front desk personnel are very helpful, the breakfast room is updated with a decent continental breakfast with the standard free menu. Will definitely return to the New Oregon for future visits.
After a 10 hour drive, The Best Western, new Oregon lived up to its name. Rooms were clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. This will definitely be our stop every year as we journey to Hoodsport, Washington.
The day we checked into the motel the front desk attendant was pleasant and helpful. We stayed in an over sized room and it was clean. The next day we attended baseball games and didn't return to the room until late afternoon. We set the air conditioner because it was supposed to be 101 that day. When we returned to the room it was quite warm. We checked the air conditioner and turned it up. When the temp did not lower, we called the front desk and the clerk came to the room. He admitted that the air conditioner wasn't working properly and said nothing could be done for the evening. We could not keep the sliding glass door open because the back of the room overlooked a stream and we didn't want mosquitoes coming into the room. In addition to this problem, the light on the desk and it's plug in didn't work. We also told the front desk about this problem. We were given a 10% discount for one night because of the air conditioning problem. I thought that they should have compensated us more for the inconvenience.
We stayed here for a concert the Alice Cooper concert. We hadn't realized it was such an easy walk from this motel. A nice path which crosses the river takes you right there. It was very pleasant, met a couple who lived there and got us on the correct way because we hadn't taken the correct turn on the path and were directly in front of Autzen Stadium.
It was conveniently located across the street from the Univ of Oregon, and near the Riverwalk Research Park entrance. It was pet-friendly, clean, and felt secure. Our room was clean albeit small. Comfortable beds gave us all a goodnight street. I was able to safely and confidentally take my dog for a walk. I used and appreciated the small but well-equipped fitness center. I really enjoyed breakfast in the clean, nicely decorated, comfortable breakfast area. The BW organization does a great job of training its members as seen in their consistent courteousness and efficiency. I've become a big fan of the Best Western hotel chain.
This is a clean, comfortable hotel with all the amenities I look for: refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, internet, breakfast. Breakfast items are standard but plentiful, with a few extras to spice things up. Office staff is very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel welcome and at home. Hotel is very convenient to University of Oregon (across the street), public transportation, downtown and shopping.
convenient location very friendly staff and great amenies -what more could you ask! the pool and spa were added benefits and the breakfast included cut up fresh fruit and other items not often found -we had a room facing the canal with a balcony -great for relaxation
The Best Western New Oregon Hotel in Eugene, OR is one the Best of the Best Western's I have stayed in. This hotel has great friendly staff, a great breakfast with a large seating area, and very comfortable rooms. I was fortunate to stay in one of the rooms overlooking a river/creek where ducks swim, birds sings in the trees and squirrels run around the area. It was a peaceful hotel close to the University of Oregon, museums, restaurants, freeways, a mall and antique stores. Downtown Eugene has many shops, restaurants and the visitor center.
new breakfast room is great and the food has been upgraded. room was clean and neat. Motel is near campus so very convenient. prices will be much higher for big events on campus but location can not be beat.
This hotel is priced right, wonderful breakfast, and right across the street from U of O. With additional family, it was the perfect location to walk to all U of O celebrations during our son's graduation.
Nice location for the University. A bit pricey for the average motel but better than some of the others. Staff were nice. No problems experienced during stay. Breakfast wasn't bad and easily accessible.
This is a great place to stay when in town for activities at Hayward Field. Close to trails, stadium, the Wild Duck Cafe. I look forward to my next stay. Although the cost was not cheap it was in line with other hotels in the area. I would recommend this to anyone traveling in the area.
Length/Type: 3-night, business trip Travel Dates: June 6-9, 2017 (Tuesday to Friday) Overall Experience: Very Good Good Points: - Friendly staff - Spacious breakfast buffet area - In-room mini fridge - In-room coffee maker - Adjustable shower head in bathroom - Free Wi-Fi - Availability of computers for use in lobby - Free daily newspapers - Free lunch bags Bad Points: - In-room A/C was a bit weak General Overview This was my first time visiting Eugene, Oregon. I had business to conduct with another colleague in Springfield. The hotel lobby, as well as the breakfast buffet area, appeared to have been recently renovated. Both had high ceilings and were very clean and modern looking. The staff at the front desk was very professional and friendly. The free breakfast buffet was held in a separate building near the lobby, and it was excellent. It had the usual hot & cold items one would normally find at a complementary breakfast buffet. In case you're wondering, yes, they do have a fully automated, push button pancake machine. The sack lunches, containing an apple, a bottle of water, cheese Danish and granola bar were also nice to have. The free daily newspapers (Wall Street Journal), as well as the local newspaper (The Register – Guard) were nice touches. The Room I found the room to be a bit on the small side. But aside front that, the bed was comfortable and both the desk and in-room mini-fridge were put to good use. The large LCD TV, with a variety of channels, was also good. The in-room coffee maker and free Wi-Fi worked like a charm (I highly value both of these items in hotel rooms nowadays). Same goes for the adjustable showerhead in the bathroom. The only minor issue I had with the room was the air conditioning. I found the room to be a bit stuffy. Even after moving the table and the two chairs aside (to allow more space for the air to circulate), I still found the room temperature to be slightly higher than normal. I checked the A/C unit and it was on maximum. But again, only a minor issue. Advice to those interested: - The hotel is located in close proximity to the University of Oregon, just across Franklin Blvd. It is easily within walking distance. This is a good place to stay if you're giving a lecture, visiting a student or faculty member, etc. - There is also a Bus Rapid Transit station located just outside the front entrance of the hotel. It is part of the “Emerald Express” (EmX) system. Just in case you're getting around by public transit.
Close to University. Great breakfast included. I am gluten free and the breakfast had potatoes, eggs and bacon which allowed me to eat breakfast. Quiet on the one floor side of the motel. Have stayed here about 4 times now. Easy to walk to the University and track field. Easy to walk to restaurants.
The area is very pretty with the University in close proximity. Many restaurants within walking distance and Starbucks as well. They offer an indoor pool and hot tub with sliding doors that open fully to a nice patio area bringing the outdoors in which was very nice. There needed to be more towels and the front desk staff were quick to get us the towels we needed but not without some complaining in regards to other staff members not doing their job. Check in staff were frustrated that they were helping someone with taxi arrangements while we were waiting to check in. We told her it wasn't a problem as the patron was from out of country and needed assistance with transportation. The rooms were large and clean.
I was checked into Room 112. I left a bag with a pair of dress shirt and jeans pant and a pair of brown-colored formal shoes before going out in the morning. The day after when in the morning when I thought of packing before checking out, I couldn't find them anywhere. When I went to the office and complained, I was told that they don't know anything. It really bothered me because the pair of clothes and good shoes cost about $100 and it is not easy to get them back, especially as a student. Wished it didn't happen in your facility. Other than that, everything including the service was pretty good at your hotel.
I expected Best Western to be satisfactory when I reserved a room for a night, but found this particular hotel in Eugene, OR to be very good indeed. It is is rather recent construction, with an unusually large parking lot, convenient parking in front of each room, with large rooms, all clean and in good condition inside. Everything functioned well. Best is the indoor pool, exercise area and pool. The breakfasts were very good, with large variety of offerings. Well done Best Western.
I came to Eugene for the night with my partner to see Modest Mouse and had an amazing stay. The pool is open until midnight, the rooms are very clean, the little back patio was very serene and peaceful, and the breakfast was amazing. We will be staying there again.
I've stayed in so many Best Westerns. This one was clean and handy, but not the nice Best Western buildings that I'm used to staying in. They gave us a "River View". Yeah, right. This was a small canal with mostly standing water at best. The "River" was further north of us and not visible from the room. We had a couple of maintenance problems and they were both fixed within 15 minutes of my reporting them. That was excellent. The
We called ahead and were given a rate of $84 for the night. When we arrived I said that I just called and they told us it would be $92. When we pressed them Jessie said "go ahead and give it to them for $84." Then, we were put in a room that was obviously really slanted! We all tripped here and there due to the uneven floor. They said they would move us but if they had another room why would they even rent this one? The pool was freezing but the hot tub was great. The breakfast was nice too. We usually flock to BW but this was dissappointing.
The Best Western New Oregon Hotel is a great place to stay for your visit to University of Oregon. The school is literally right across the street and you can walk in 2 minutes. The room decor could definitely use an update, but the rooms are always clean and the breakfast is so convenient and awesome!
We always enjoy our stay at the the Best Western New Oregon. The rooms are updated, clean and comfortable. The staff is always accommodating and polite, making sure that our stay is a pleasant one. We prefer to stay here over any others when we're in Eugene.
Thankfully this room was paid for by a prospective employer, otherwise I would have been more disappointed. I try and avoid lodging with exterior doors but can even overlook that if the rooms are nice enough. I would easily compare this to a Motel 6, and that is not a compliment. Old musty carpet and outdated bathroom make this standard at best. If you get a good rate and aren't super picky, this may be the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
Very expensive for what you get. I stay in many hotels low and high end and this is by far the worst value for the money I have ever paid. Like to the point I where I was regretting booking this the minute I got to the room and checked everything out. Pretty enough on the outside, good location to the Matthew Knight Arena but the walls were paper thin to the point I could hear the people above us (which I don't think were being excessively loud) and traffic outside all night long! The room was very musty smelling and dark, the hot tub was broke down, the pool was cold, the breakfast was not even average. I am so sorry to give such a negative review (don't even know if I ever have) but if I hadn't paid over 220 a night I would probably not complain as much. I can't recall ever staying in a Best Western and will probably never again. I mean I recently stayed at a Hyatt property that was beautiful inside and out, with great breakfast, warm pool, no noise for 99 a night!
We always use BW whenever we can. We have grown to expect excellence and we always get it. We love the breakfast and all of the people in the staff always go out of their way to help and please us. The pool and hot tub are always clean and great to use for the whole family.
We booked 8 rooms for our running club to participate in the Eugene marathon. The hotel was clean. Allowed a couple of late checked out for us to come back from the marathon to take a shower. Awesome breakfast ( open early at 5:30AM for Marathon racers since marathon started at 7AM ) and the staff was so accommodating. About 6 mins walk to the start. Very conv. location for Eugene marathon. Highly recommended.
Great Location and nice amenities. Only thing in my room , anyway, was an issue with the electric outlets being too loose to hold chargers. But other then that, the beds are great and brand new dining are was lovely.
This is a nice place to stay. I spent the weekend here with my husband. Our room was very clean and in good repair. We visited used the pool and hot tub and enjoyed the extended hours. All of the staff we interacted with were nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
This is a beautiful hotel. Our room was on the water which was very enjoyable. The bed is very comfortable; every amenity you need. Very close to UofO and lots of paths/trails to walk. Our stay was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was great; good food. The front desk and breakfast staff were very nice, friendly and accommodating should we need anything. Very pleasant stay; would stay again if in the area.
Super chill the bed was really comfortable and the sheets are soft. The hot tub was nice too but the pool could use some maintenance it was a little dirty. The staff was really nice as well and in a good part of town.
Very comfortable beds. Fast internet. Close to U of O. No rooms on top of you so it's very quiet. Close to restaurants and easy to find. Breakfast was ok - pancakes instead of waffles, but nice environment. Staff are very friendly.
The beds were awesome and the staff was so friendly. Very enjoyable experience. Everything was so clean and orderly. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely stay in this facility again.
The hotel is across the street from the Michael Night Basketball Arena. We came here to take my boys on a college tour. We only used the car to see the football stadium. Everything else was a short walk from the hotel. It is also easy to access from the airport. We rented a car because Uber is not available in Eugene. I think there are shuttles we could have done, as well as public transportation. This is more of a motel location. The rooms were nice for the pricing. The breakfast was in a building near the main lobby. It looks like they were remodeling, so that is encouraging. The dining room was still suitable even with that going on. The breakfast was good. My boys enjoyed the pancake machine. We will more than likely stay here again, as my son plans to be a Duck in the next year.
Dogs were in eating area not under supervision. We told the person working the food area and they told us there was nothing they could do about it. DOG HAIR IN FOOD - YUM The room was OK - The front desk folks were nice. We have stayed there many times before but with dogs running in breakfast area, I think this will be the last.
You really can't beat the location of this hotel. We were in town for an event at the Matthew Knight Arena and this place is across the street, literally about a 2 minute walk. It is also in a good spot to walk to Autzen or to tour the campus. There are not a ton of places around it but there are a few restaurants, a grocery store and a coffee place so you can get what you need. However, if you want a large selection of drinking and food options, you will need to drive. The hotel it's self is older and you can tell it's a little worn. The heat/ac unit doesn't have an actual temperature setting but a high/low heat, high/low cool and fan only. Thus, we ended up sweating one night until we could figure out the right spot to put it. The rooms, however, are big and have a coffee pot and other basic necessities. In addition, they serve a breakfast in the morning but they layout is a bit weird and small so it can get kind of cramped in the eating/serving area at busy times. Finally, there is not a great place for pets at this hotel. There is one very small grassy area for dogs but you have to walk for about 10 minutes if you want to find fido a little bigger area to roam and play.
hotel was off of a busy highway so we did hear some street noise. the room served its purpose; clean, front desk was able to accommodate us for a late check in. location was close to a grocery store and fast food places. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable
we always stay at this motel as our first stop on our way from Poulsbo to Reno. Our primary reason for staying here are 1) they take dogs and 2) there are hiking trails along the Willamette River just behind the property. Recently they have enlarged the breakfast room as well as upgrading the quality of the breakfast.
VERY small bathroom with stained, dirty tub. Loose door made a great deal of noise with wind blowing against it. Kept us awake all night. Server announces at breakfast "Breakfast is over so don't let no one else in here". Proper English makes a good impression, especially in a college town & most of your guests are prospective students & families. Should hotel guests be told to monitor the door? Definitely not our job!
The only plus to this hotel is that it is walking distance to UO which makes it convenient. That's why they can get the price they do. Average rooms. Staff was friendly. Disappointing breakfast with all disposable plates, cups, etc.
Nice, clean rooms, large and comfortable. Found ourselves needing a motel at the last minute and front desk was very kind and accommodating. Good breakfast and very kind, considerate and helpful staff that went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I would stay here again if I am in the area again.
Very clean and nice rooms for the price. Not fancy, but very nice. Great breakfast. Indoor pool and hot tub, as well as a sauna. The most comfortable bed I've slept in at a hotel. And lots of pillows.
While this hotel is nicely situated close to university and nearby restaurants, the hotel itself appears old and outdated. There are lots of smokers standing outside of their hotel rooms smoking because of the ashtrays still connected to the exterior hotel walls that are offered. A nice inner covered courtyard with seating may work better. Also, our room was sloping downward from both sides of the bed. Serious sloping from the bed to the front door of the room. Just an odd place to stay. In my opinion, not up to the usual Best Western standards that I have become accustomed to.
Hotel was very clean and easy to find... Centrally located with access to all the things we were there for...I would definitely say again...Even though it was right across the street from the Matthew Knight Arena it was pretty quiet
Good clean place with great service, clean rooms and soft beds. I have stayed at this hotel before and it is well worth the price. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Eugene. Close to the college so lots of places to eat with in walking distance.
Great hotel, shameful that they triple the hotel price when there is a Ducks game. My family enjoys staying here when we come for a game but the price gouging is ridiculous. Please reconsider this practice
Excellent quality for the money you pay. Great value. Says continental breakfast, so many variety with hot and cold items, variety fruits. Breakfast items beat many of the other hotel chains that offer free breakfast. Fitness center is envy of many of its competitors.
Excellent staff and a great motel value in an excellent location, right across the street from the university and major transit stop. It's a short walk to the center of campus from the motel. And, with the EMX transit stop right there, you can explore Eugene and Springfield without a car.
Room was clean and a good size for me and 2 other people. Front desk staff was friendly. We did not have the breakfast offered with the room so I can't say anything about it. Overall I would give this a fair rating and would probably stay again if I'm in the area.
Good bed and comfortable room. Clean but looks a little tired. I could tell some type of paint had been used to touch up chips or scratches in the tub and toilet seat. Probably sees some hard use from visiting college students and sports fans. The pool was nice, and the breakfast much more than a continental breakfast although they did run out of country sausage gravy one of the mornings we were there and they said it was too late to make more because the breakfast time was ending shortly. It's right across from U of O which was great for our purposes as our son was previewing the campus. We had a river view room which is a pleasant view. The pool and spa were clean and well-kept. Overall a good value and good location.
3 of us went to PBR. This BW is convenient to the University of Oregon. We arrived Saturday and did not move the car until Monday when time to leave. A great breakfast bar - make your own pancakes and convenient to many restaurants and a grocery store.
Just off the campus of Oregon State University, this hotel was similar to most in the area. Great for parents dropping off their kids at school and it served us very well for a one night stay with our pet. The first room we were given was below our standards, but Daline, at the front desk quickly sprung into action to accommodate us. She apologized and gave us a choice of 3 other available rooms, (the first choice was just fine), but she went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable and even waived the pet fee for our trouble. A story of "the people make it great".
Professional staff. Nice accomodations - nothing new or shiny but solid and comfortable. Nice breakfast area. Very good indoor pool and hot tub. River views on some rooms with decent balcony. Super location. Priced higher that some others and probably worth it. Be sure to differentiate it from the neighboring Best Western which is not called the New Oregon.
Great location, but older motel with very dark rooms. However, the balcony was very nice. Super close to U of O, trails, and restaurants. Easy walk to Matthew Knight Arena or Autzen stadium. Good free breakfast. Very loud plumbing, neighbors and lots of door slamming. No elevators make it difficult to get luggage upstairs
I stayed a Sunday night on my way home and it was a quiet and comfortable night. From what I gathered talking with the locals, football game weekends at the neighboring college are not as quiet, so beware of that, but my stay was just fine and will stay here again when my travels take me north.
We stayed in a pet friendly room. They cleaned it very well because my allergies did not react. My sister's room did have a smell, so maybe we had different housekeeping people. Decent pool, typical breakfast. VERY SLOW INTERNET. I did use laundry room and was only one of each, but not a problem.
I read the other reviews, and some mentioned a smell and cleanliness issues. So I was a little hesitant in booking this hotel but it was right where we needed it to be in for the right price. However when I got there, the place was spotless and had no smell. I was very excited to see that the reviews I had read were not the case. So here's my breakdown. To start, you should know that there are two sections to this hotel. The part you pull into with the lobby and pooll etc is a U Shaped section of single story rooms then next to that is another L Shaped 2 story section of rooms. We stayed in a double queen and was on the single story side close to the pool. Its possible that the the different rooms may have a different feel to them. You should also know that we came as a family of 2 adults and 1 child (8 yrs) and only stayed one night. We were only up for a doctors appointment. As for our room. The room was absolutely spotless, the ceiling is slanted by design which gave it a low ceiling in the bathroom that I wasn't thrilled with and the room itself was very tiny. BUT if you're in Eugene, do you really plan on spending a lot time in your room? I hope not! Get out and go do stuff! Anyways, the linen was very clean, the bed was comfy, and we had plenty of pillows and towels. We had an issue with our remote not working, but maintenance came right over and quickly replace the batteries and everything was fine again. We took full advantage of the pool and spa which no one else seem to be using so we had free rein of it , the sauna looks nice but we didn't use it. Breakfast in the morning was nice, nothing fantastic but, good and gave you some various options. Definitely worthwhile and really saves you some money instead of having to go out and eat. There was a neat little pancake maker that my son enjoyed and the staff was readily available to help with anything then clean up. Checking in and checking out it was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and smiled a lot. There was lots of options nearby for food, including right next door was a lovely little place called Sam's and down the street a little bit was a pizza buffet call Track Town. We will definitely be staying there again as we go up for doctor's appointments.
No one should consider staying at this hotel until the black concrete berms in the parking lot are painted WHITE.so that guests can see them day and night. My wife didn't one time and suffered multiple cuts and bruises in a tumble over the black concrete berm in front of our room. This is a major safety issue which must be resolved.
Great place to stay: River views:. with ducks and egrets in river. quiet location across from main U of O campus. Beds firm. Very peaceful stay in general.Lots of Restaurants arlong the same street.( Dont recommend Empire Buffet: unclean.) But Best Western was the perfect place for a night in Eugene. Wish i could have stayed longer.
Blood on the bathroom trim everywhere. A poorly functioning AC. Zero assistance at all. I would have expected a move to a new room or an apology. Neither were offered. I will not be choosing the New Best Western again.
I had one of their very nice king size bedrooms with large patio area overlooking the water. The sound of Ducks - which is certainly welcome in Eugene - was nice to hear. It was enjoyable watching them and enjoying the coffee and tea. There is a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator in the room. There is also two nice very comfortable sitting chairs and table. There is a desk area. The bathroom had dual sinks. In short, their balcony king size rooms with a view are very nice. As others have said the location is very good to go to the university. I also enjoyed going to a playoff baseball game of the Eugene Emeralds. It was easy driving distance to the game - which is also in the same area where the Oregon Duck Football stadium is. The Best Western is right by public transportation as well. In regards to the common areas, they are very nice. The continental breakfast was good. The swimming pool, exercise area, sauna, are one of the better Best Westerns. The staff was superb. One Note: There are two Best Westerns very close to one another so do check the name of the one you are staying at. I stopped at the first one and then said - uh, not the right name The New Oregon Motel is just a minute (or less drive) from the other.
We booked this hotel solely based on its proximity to Autzen Stadium. We knew that the prices were elevated for the game ($240 a night including taxes). We arrived around 1pm and asked if our room was ready, if not we were hoping to leave our car and walk to lunch. They said our room was ready so all was good. The first thing we noticed when we opened the door to our room is that the room has a steep incline to it. The floor is so unlevel that you have to walk uphill to the bed. Once you've climbed Mt Eugene to where the bed is, if you turn around and look at the door you see daylight shining through the bottom of the door and a gap so big that Indiana Jones could probably slide under it. My wife then entered the small bathroom and she loudly exclaims "Gross!" She then calls me in to show me the mass of hair stuck to the inside of the shower and the used soap, covered in hair also left in the shower. We finished unloading the car then walked to the front desk to let them know that the room was quite ready. The front desk person argued that our room was clean and even called up the house keeping manager(?) who also told us that our room was clean and she could go respray it for us This is where I told them there was hair and used soap still in the shower. The manager rudely said she would go find out what happened. They offered us a different room, which we declined, but neither of them apologized for the condition of the room or their poor attitude The morning after our stay I went to use the hairdryer and noticed it was broken with sharp edges on it. The final complaint is that they have two vending machines for water and sodas that say they accept cards, when you swipe your card they both say that they are unable to accept cards. Normally, not an issue, but added to our frustration. We have stayed at numerous Best Westerns (Hood River and Ogden, UT are two of our favorites) and never had an issue or encountered rude employees. I just looked at my bank account and the pending charge is $40 more than what it should be, we will see if that changes once it actually hits our account. Next time we are in town we will choose one of the other Eugene hotels that have nicer amenities and are less expensive. $250 a night in Eugene should get you a very nice room.
We selected the New Oregon for its walking location to Autzen stadium while staying in Eugene to see an Oregon home opener. The room was small but clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly and the location is outstanding. We used it as a place to visit all our old haunts. For that is was great. We tried to sample the free breakfast one morning but it was rather pathetic so stuck with coffee and yogurt. Best bet is to drive up to Studio One or the Original Pancake House closed by. Overall overpriced because of its location but that is what makes it so attractive.
But actually smaller than a motel 6 room including a small bathroom; it was basically a motel 6 room with carpet. The TV remote made it all but impossible to change channels requiring many attempts. The adjustable shower head in the bathroom was broken. Way over priced; I was denied one of the nicer rooms overlooking the canal with balcony because of a small dog but still had to pay the price. Only saving grace was the hot pancake machine at breakfast. But I won't stay here again and my days with Best Western are likely numbered after I use my existing rewards points.
We return to this hotel on a regular basis when visiting our student at UofO. Check in is easy, staff knowledgeable and helpful and location is great. We have always stayed in a room that looks over the river (neat view) and they are always clean, well stocked with a good a/c. The breakfast is okay - standard continental hotel fare, which is included in your room rate, so don't expect a lot here. There are computers in the lobby if you need to print passes or anything of that nature. Will be returning here 3-4 times in the next year. Thanks BW New Oregon!!!
In our travel across the country we always look for a Best Western to stay at and when possible we try to make reservations in advance when we know where we will end up in our daily travels. We are a preferred member of Best Western. The facilities and personnel were very good at BEST WESTERN New Oregon Motel in Eugene, OREGON. However, we were extremely disappointed in the complimentary breakfast that was offered. Just carbohydrates, no protein. Cereal, make your own waffle, etc. In all of our stays at Best Western we have always had a much better breakfasts and that is why we choose this one to stay at, expecting something much better than what was offered. We anticipated a breakfast like the ones we have experienced at other Best Westerns.
Traveling with my son (who serves in the Navy) from California to Washington for his next post. After 14 hours of driving, we decided to call it a night. First place we saw was a Best Western - great, we've had such good experiences with this chain. Son goes to check in, asks for a military discount, yes they have one. Good, room with two beds. Sorry, the discount only applies to a single bed. Huh? That's our policy, but we can offer you the AAA discount? OK. We're tired and will sort it out in the morning. The next day I ask again for the military discount. Sorry, not available for a room with two beds. What if a person is traveling with their family - everyone sleeps in one bed? Shrug. What difference does a bed type make, either you offer a discount or you don't? Shrug - it's the policy. (BTW, my son stayed at the BW in Texas and they bent over backwards to give him every discount available) Thanks Best Western for your support of our men, women and their families in the military. You will not be receiving my business in the future. It's policy!
Decently priced with clean rooms and friendly staff. Poor and spa area was well kept and not horribly over crowded at all. I had a good stay and would be back. Close to just about everything you might need to visit including public transit and the sport stadiums
Beware! If you need a desk in a single queen room you won't get it at this motel. The room was very tiny and the person I talked to did not let me know about this. Tiny shower and bathroom door really noisy opening and closing. I was told if I needed a bigger room I should have asked for a 2 queen bed or a king bed. Not a way to treat a customer.
We spent two nights at the New Oregon Motel (Best Western) and it was very nice. We had a nice two room suite which worked out great for us. The only negative at all was that the breakfast was totally carbs. With the ever growing number of diabetics in this country, hotels that provide breakfast need to be sure to have a good range of foods including high quality protein. The overall facility was lovely - great pool, toasty spa. Just get a better breakfast!
The beds were good. Breakfast was OK. A/C was really loud. There was a big gap under the door. There was a nice balcony and enjoyed the ducks. It was a decent size room. Enjoyed walking in the area and the pizza was great down the street.
This is a notch or two above what you would expect from the classic motor motel layout. Little things, like proper glass tumblers and ceramic mugs in the bathroom make a huge difference, at least to me, in quality. I just hate those little plastic cup with the impossible to remove plastic wrapping found in lesser places. The room was quiet and clean. The be was comfortable. Breakfast was not gourmet, but definitely a notch above the usual with fresh fruit, pancakes, boiled eggs, the usual collection of breads etc. Plenty of place to sit and enjoy your meal The staff is constantly at work on the grounds and it shows.
This hotel is in bad need of updating but it's so convenient to the university, will stay here again. The price does not match the experience but it's a best western and worth the price of being close to help my child get orientated with the campus & moved in. Did not go for the complimentary breakfast, although knew it was available.
We stopped here on our first day of our road trip through Oregon. We arrived pretty early in the morning. They let us use the bathroom near the swimming pool to freshen up and grab a few things from the breakfast room before checking into our room. We asked if our room was available for early check in and they easily accommodated, no issues. I liked the location a lot. It was across the street from U of O. We were able to walk to and around the campus to check it out. It was also walking distance to the Wilamette River and a stroll along the river. It was close to downtown Eugene. This is also a pet friendly hotel, which is why I chose it as our dog was road tripping with us. The room was very clean and the staff was nice and polite.
We were there to visit UofO. It is right across the street from the college and it's a Best Western. The room was a little dated and the bed was a little dented. But it overlooked the waterway behind and that was nice. Their breakfast was better than some and not as good as other Best Westerns so we decided to go elsewhere. It was adequate. I'd stay there again for a one nighter if I needed to.
I stayed here to tour UofO with my son. The location is great for the tour as it is literally right across the street. Plan on eating breakfast somewhere else though. The breakfast area was overcrowded and the food was not great at all. I ended up just grabbing some hard boiled eggs and a banana (not a real breakfast in my opinion). The place was clean, but the decor and design is all stuck in the 70's. The bed was comfortable, we all slept well. There was no hair dryer in the room, but it was hot out so not a big deal at the time. The check in/out process was quick and easy. The value for the money is just not there though.
Stayed here after hotels.com screwed up and overbooked us at our original hotel. The area for one night on our drive to Portland was packed with limited vacancies and this is the best hotels.com could do. I thought - it's a best western, how bad can it be? Pros: front desk people were super nice and helpful on check in. I also had to call because we couldn't find the hair dryer and he directed us to where it was. (In the second closet on the top shelf). The room was clean. I didn't have any concerns about cleanliness once so ever when we were in the room. Cons: - we stayed in their "family suite" (guess it was the last room available) which is IN THE BASEMENT. I'm 5'4 and could touch the ceilings. It smelled a bit stale. You had to walk down this creepy stairwell and you were basically out back in the hotel with no room entrances near you - there's someone HOUSE within 15 steps of your hotel front door. We also could hear everything going on above us. Super sketch! - Breakfast was nothing special. We went for a banana and bagel and coffee and couldn't even stand to be in the room. It was the most crowded hotel breakfast I've ever seen. You could barely move and people were hoarding food. They had biscuits and gravy, 3 types of cereal, toast - and there were too many people and they couldn't keep up with restocking. - parking lot. Maybe it's the area, but there are a TON of smokers. If you walk through the main area with the rooms, there will be at least 3 people smoking. One of the worst I've seen. - the RV/trailer in the parking lot. It was OLD - we were surprised it still worked. In the morning, A scene from a bad movie as some woman exits carrying a ton of toothbrushes wearing some very tiny nightie, spitting as she exited. It was just parked in the lot, and there were people in the RV and in the room. Overall, super disappointed. I know the hotel can't help the type of people that stayed here, but it's clear they are seriously sketchy, disrespectful, disgusting and rude and not what I am normally comfortable with.
Had uncontrolled noise after 10 PM (children loudly playing right outside our door. I heard their remote control car hit our car (the toy became stuck under our car - and the boys made quite a commotion like it was our fault.
Got to the hotel and found that my reservation for a down stairs room (because my mother uses a cane) wasn't available to us and had to wait till the next afternoon for a new one down stairs, strike one, a big one (took my mother 7 minutes to climb the stairs?? Two, they need to up date their shower head (didn't let water thrgh very well), toliet (several flushes/ low flow) and lamp (dim and took up space/plug for charger, had to switch lamps) in the room?? Three: need to check cleaniess of beds, both rooms produced unkempt sides??
Our group of 5 (me, my husband, adult daughter, adult son, and his girlfriend) stayed here last month in a 2-roomsuite (2 queens and a sofa bed in the main room and a king in a separate room), and 1 bathroom. To get to the room was a bit of a hunt—you go into the building, across a hall, back outside, and down a set of stairs. It's probably quieter than most rooms because no one is next to you, although you can hear people walking in the room above you (not too bad). The suite has a TV in each room, and a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the main room. The rooms were very clean. The beds were comfortable and each one had 4 soft pillows (we didn't use the sofabed). The bathroom only had a shower stall (which was fine for us). Toiletries included Pantene shampoo, soap, and make-up remover wipes, but no conditioner or lotion. The free breakfast included pancakes, sausage & gravy, cereals, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, biscuits, bagels, bread, pastries, bananas, apples, oranges, coffees, teas, and juices. They have a pool, hot tub, fitness center, and laundromat, but we didn't use any of these. Overall, we were very pleased with the accommodations.
The staff was quite nice and the breakfast good but the pancake machine was out of order. Nice fast Wifi. The room was clean and fine but nothing special. The pool and spa need desperate attention though, the pool was cloudy and cold and the spa was cloudy and foamed up a lot when he jets ran. Stayed for one night on our way north.
We stayed close to University of Oregon in Eugene, and felt like this hotel was at an excellent location, comfortable, quiet and well-kept. We hope to stay here again on future visits. We recommend trying it!
CLEAN THE ROOM Thoroughly.. !!! Clean the Carpet Thoroughly. Deodorize, carpet is filthy dirty. Inspect the room before accepting it. Bed is hard as a rock. Pillows are like a pile of fluff. We usually stay at Best Westerns, but this was the first one that was a great disappointment. If they would clean the carpet and you take your own pillows, that would make it much better. A new carpet and pad might be the best way to get more people to enjoy their stay.
When we got to our room, there was a dirty towel on the bathroom floor behind the door, I picked it up and put it on the back of the door. The that morning when we got in the shower, there was a used wadded up wash rag hanging from the shower. We told the gentlemen at the front desk, who was also the one that checked us in the night before. He said hummmm sorry about that and walked away. This happened July 17. I wasn't going to say anything but can't get it out of my head the way we were treated. Tracy Wheeler
Very nice place to stay. Very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. I felt it was very nice, especially for a medium price. The staff were very friendly and courteous. It was a short drive to a fabulous Italian Restaurant named Beppe and Gianni's which I highly recommend.
Two Best Westerns here just a couple of doors apart. Our room with one queen size bed was fairly small. The air conditioning unit could have worked better. Other than that, this motel was well equipped with exercise room, coin laundry, wifi, and an indoor pool with sliding glass door to the outside. Room had a frig and microwave. No hot food at breakfast, but they did have an automatic pancake maker. Breakfast room was adequate in size.. Included was a 15% discount at Sam's, the restaurant that was next door.
Great staff, very clean, pet friendly, really good experience here. Across from the University. Plenty of place to eat nearby. Downtown is 5 minutes away. I would give this hotel 4 stars. Not many amenities and the breakfast was all cabs, skipped this. I highly recommend.
Loved the room with a balcony over the mill race water. We walked from the hotel to the Cuthbert Amphitheater, where we saw a concert for two nights, very convenient for those who can walk the half mile to the venue.
Three of us stayed in a room with two double beds. The room could barely fit the beds along with the tv, desk, and chair. The bathroom had been remodeled recently and was fine but also very tiny. We are average sized people (5' 6", 145 lbs) and can adapt as necessary but this room was just too cramped for us and our luggage. The staff and amenities were fine.
This motel was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking in front of the rooms. The Beds were very comfortable. Staff was very helpful, and even gave us directions to places we needed to go while on our stay. The breakfast room had plenty to choose from, but was small and we had to sit with other people not in our party. It is right across the street from the University of Oregon Campus and on a high traffic street, but that made it nice for walking to places for dinner and such. Price is a little high, but you are paying for the area and convenience. The bed comfort and staff make up for paying a little more.
Motel was clean and quiet. Free breakfast is simple, but had plenty for we needed. Location is right across the street from campus so very handy for us. We were only in Eugene for day so it was fine for what we needed.
If you are visiting university of Oregon and want to stay close to campus you can't get better than this. Across the street is campus. It is a basic older motel with a continental breakfast. The beds were newer and comfortable. The rooms were clean but mine smelt a bit musty. I left the window open for a while and that helped.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us for your visit to the University of Oregon. If you're thinking about attending any of the UO sports events this coming year, our location is a great choice because we offer complimentary parking (one car per room) and all of the sports venues are within walking distance.
Nice better than average updated motel in a very busy area of Eugene right across a major street from the UofO. Wi-fi and t.v. reception was a little spotty and we stayed in a pet-friendly room which had a little pet odor. The staff, the breakfast, and the pool area were all great. There are several restaurant options in the area with a discount at Sam's offered from Best Western.
Location is good and the bed is the only reason we stay there. Not professional, found a used travel size shower bottle with its cap opened in bathroom, obviously the previous guest left it there. Poor customer service, staff is rude and not helpful. Me and my friend who checked in for another room had terrible experience. Don't come!!

We are terribly sorry that your stay with us was not up to our standards. Our front desk is available 24hrs a day to assist any guest with requests or complaints. Without a reference to your reservation, there is no way to verify that you were a guest with us. Our rooms are cleaned and then checked thoroughly by our head housekeepers.
Stayed here on our road trip north. Didn't pre book and just drove in and asked if they had 2 rooms for the night. They offered us a twin room which suited our needs. Hotel is older stile single storey but in good condition. Staff very helpful and recommended good places to eat. Location next to university campus was very good, area very well maintained. Would use this hotel again if in the area. Very impressed with the town of Eugene.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you had a good dinner based on our recommendations. We've been fairly busy this summer, so if you're traveling back home and choose to stay with us again, we recommend booking in advance online through bestwestern.com or calling direct. Hope to see you again!
Rooms are clean, Staff were really nice, Great Beds and amenities. 1 rating less pation/balcony wooden fences on the river side and in the front. Its not safe for small kids. Break is above average and best compared with other similar Inns
This hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the price is good and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I feel very relaxed when I stay there. Breakfast made by a pancake machine is very novel and fun!

Thank you for your 5/5 rating Wendy, we're glad you enjoyed your stay (and the pancake machine). It's always nice for us to hear that people have a relaxing visit when they choose our motel.
If you are looking for a clean and relatively comfortable place to stay that is right across the street from the UofO arena, then this motel is a good choice. There are about 3 or 4 others within a block radius, but this one had the most amenities. On first appearances, the motel is well maintained with well kept grounds. Although the buildings are aged, they are well kept and in good condition. The check-in process was relatively quick and painless. The front-desk staff was polite and professional and provided details of the amenities which include a hot tub, pool, and fitness centre. The room was very clean and well appointed, especially considering this is a motel. The one thing I did notice is that the room had a musty "old" smell about it. I don't think this had anything to do with what was in the room, I think was just a byproduct of the age of the building. The room was also very dark with primarily floor and desk lamps for lighting. Even with the curtains open, the room needed the lamps on for light. Other than the darkness and the initial smell, the room was very comfortable. The bed was was clean and comfortable as were the other furnishings. The bathroom, which was a bit on the small side, was in good condition and the shower had good water pressure. I had the breakfast on the first day but then just dropped in for a yogurt and a piece of fruit on the subsequent 3 days. If you like carbs, then go for it. There is a full array of pancakes, bagels, cake muffins, etc. The fitness centre is surprisingly good for a motel. Although it does not have any free weights, it does have a good selection of universal machines, benches, medicine balls, and mats. I didn't use the treadmills or other cardio equipment because the area around the motel is ideal for a 3-5km warm up run. The pool is also nice and certainly refreshing on a hot day. Unlike most indoor pools, this one has an open side that allows fresh air and sunlight into the space. This makes the space much more comfortable and less humid. Overall, the motel is a good choice if you want a comfortable (but not fancy) place to stay with decent amenities and an "ok" breakfast. Just remember to keep your expectations in check.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We're working to improve the lighting in our rooms by updating the type of light bulbs in the lamps and the fixtures themselves. Our breakfast has several healthier options as well, including the hot oatmeal with a variety of different toppings, hard boiled eggs, and whole wheat toast. We're happy that you found the beautiful running trails located close to our property!
Overall a great value and a very consistent and well taken care of rooms. Breakfast great, pool and hot tub area great. Hotel staff more interested in sharing each other's cell phone pictures and things with each other. We've had to make coughing noises to get attention at the front desk. I give service an "average" rating. The main service was excellent, the front desk staff weren't.

I'm sorry that your experience with our staff wasn't as good as it could have been. We apologize if at any point your presence was not their priority. We hope that if you choose to stay with us in the future that it will be a better check-in.
Pros: clean, convenient, quiet, parking by room, well stocked, extensive continental breakfast. Cons: beds way too high, very dark, weird, long bathroom at the back of the room, very inconvenient. Priced too high for what they had to offer.
Good 1/2 way rest stop between San Francisco, CA & Vancouver, BC. Good price. (about $120) Accommodates pets; ($20) extra. Breakfast is basic. Drink/snack vending machine on site. Quiet, safe neighborhood.
New carpet and paint does not change this hotel from 1-star to 3-star, as advertised. The room we got was tiny, the mattress was so old it had a depression in the center. Since we had gotten the room from Priceline, the staff would not let us get a better room without paying full price for it, giving us no credit for what we had paid Priceline. The room was clean, the cleaning staff pleasant, and the location across the street from the U of O was good.
We stayed her to check out University of Oregon. The breakfast was not as nice as most Best Western. The pool hours were not convenient. Did not open until 9:00 a.m. We also had Best Western gift certificates, as we do stay in BWs often. Rather than apply a gift certificate as a credit to our bill, they actually charged us the amount of the gift certificate. The attitude when we pointed it out was not apologetic. They did ultimately resolve the error, but if we had not been paying attention, we would have been significantly overcharged.
The New Oregon Best Western is conveniently located across the street from the University of Oregon in Eugene. Basketball games and evens in Matthew Knight Arena are only a block or so ways, while football games can also be walked to byway of a footbridge over the Willamette River. Eugene can get hot in the summer and their is a nice pool. Also nice is the self laundry facility. There is a large room for the hot and cold free breakfast. A few of the rooms over look a small waterway where you can often see ducks and, in the trees, squirrels. My rooms have always been spotless. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
This is a decent place to stay if you are wanting to be close to the University. Conveniently located off of Franklin. It is an older hotel. Ok breakfast are in the morning. The pool is a decent size as well as the jacuzzi and workout room.
We stayed one night to visit family in the area. I had screwed up my reservation (completely my fault) but the desk staff found a room and didn't gouge me. We had the "leftover room", the room on a busy street corner but at that point I really didn't mind. As with all Best Western properties I have stayed in, it was clean, in good repair and comfortable. Definitely not fancy or luxurious but more than adequate. There was one noted item in this particular room and that was that the door frame had been badly broken at one time. It appears that the safety latch was engaged but not the door lock and the door was kicked in breaking the framing away from the wall. It had been poorly repaired but it would need taking the room out of use for a day or two to properly repair. Since the hotel is directly across the street from UO, I assume it was a student related incident. I informed the desk of the need for repair upon checkout, they didn't seem to know about it.
We've stayed at this hotel before on our annual trip to Oregon for a family reunion and the Prefontaine, and the staff is always extremely friendly and helpful, just as they were on this trip. First, the positives. The hotel is very conveniently located to the U of O, in fact if you are going for the Pre (and you don't have bad knees!) you could walk to Hayward Field. They've upgraded/updated the rooms since the last time we stayed there so they look very nice. The rooms along the back side of the property have balconies that have a great view of the river that runs behind the property and the lovely park on the other side of the river. There are even ducks and geese that swim about the river! The breakfast is just slightly better than a standard continental, but its good, and they actually have a pancake machine! Its pretty cool. Now the negatives. The layout of the breakfast room could be better. The silverware and some of the accompaniments (creamer, cream cheese, etc) are on the other side of the room from the items they go with. A few complaints about the room, too. First, the toilet paper sucks! Its quite rough, and its very thin which causes you to use a lot, which then leads to the toilet backing up frequently. On the plus side, because the paper is so thin it breaks down quickly and the back-up goes away without having to use a plunger! Second, not all the rooms have a couch, which leaves you with the chair/ottoman, the desk chair, a dining table style chair or the bed to sit on, and none of them is comfortable enough to sit on for any length of time. Third, the bed, at least in our room was really high, which, for shorter people like us, makes it a bit of a challenge to get in and out of. And, not sure how old the mattress is, but one side is slightly slanted so when you make the leap onto the bed you tend to immediately roll into the middle of the bed! All in all though, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider staying there again.
Never been a big "best western" fan, but this place changed my mind. The kids loved the pool, and the pond next to the hotel was great to walk around. I'll definitely keep this hotel in mind for future trips to Eugene. Nice staff, nice location.
Excellent hotel in Eugene & right across from the university, so perfect for visiting students or family! We stayed here on a quick family trip & were extremely happy with the accommodations. Breakfast is in a separate building & was plenty spacious. Menu ranged with great hot items to great grab-and-go selections for busy travelers. Staff was friendly & helpful at check-in! We will definitely stay here again in future trips to Eugene. Also, it was very family-friendly & quiet!
Clean, comfortable and safe place to stay while traveling, friendly and patient staff, washer and dryer a big plus! I enjoyed the king sise bed rooms as they had a large sliding door window overlooking a small river and lots of trees, breakfast was amazing!
This is a great location to stay in Eugene if you are going to experience the University of Oregon. I always stay here when I come to Eugene. Walking distance from U of O and Autzen Stadium. The continental breakfast is always disappointing but Sam's on Franklin is right next door and there food is awesome.
The Motel was a few blocks from the event venue that we went to. And the rooms were great, I have stayed at Best western before in Wanatchee WA for Business and it was the same experience service that I got which was good and sleep well.
The room is really small, they put a desk in the room which is nice, but it is "normal size" in a tiny room. You cant get by the chair to get to the micro bathroom! Not enough outlets to power/charge electronics. For the price charged, there are better places to stay!
A centralized, quiet surrounding area.with running, hiking & biking trails nearby. Breakfast was great. Service was professional, Wish there was a covered area to walk from the rooms to the breakfast area.
Very clean. Rooms are clean beds comfortable. Great staff. Always friendly and accommodating. Great location, right next to UO. You can walk to everything. Stayed here many times, have always had a great stay.
Room was dark, floors were spongy and squeaked. Bathroom very small. floors sloped badly. The room was in the older part of hotel, one floor. Staff was very nice. Over all not what a rewards member expects from Best Western.
We stayed in the newer 2 story building with a balcony overlooking the "canal". The view out the back was nice like a park. The water was stagnant but didn't smell. The people upstairs came in at 1245 am and were very noisy. This hotel is best for people going to a game or event at the University since it is right across the street and the rest of the guests seem to be partying as well. Bed was comfortable. Shower was not good with no mixer valve so it was too cold then way to hot then no pressure. The toilet wouldn't flush properly and it is gross to have the coffee maker in the bathroom. The cleaning staff vacuumed the room next to us at 9 30 am. I like BW but I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are here to party.
Had a really great experience here. Perhaps it was the excitement of the race weekend, but the motel did have a lot going for it. Easily accessible from I-5. Literally a 2 block walk to the start and finish line around Hayward field so no driving/parking necessary. The run even went by it so friends and family could just watch you from the sidewalk. Check-in staff was very friendly and helpful as well as manager who I met on checkout. Forgot to get forks for takeout and they were more than accommodating to provide them. Complimentary breakfast was pretty good - had a no-mess pancake machine that produced 2 perfect pancakes at the press of a button. Good selection of pastries, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, dairy products, hard boiled eggs, coffee/tea/juice and even soy milk and almond milk. Plenty of parking. Did not see an elevator though for the 2nd floor rooms, but did not actively look for one. Rooms were clean, although dark. It is a bit dated with doors not being the most secure (chain lock) and you could see daylight coming through the door frame when door closed. Air conditioner loud at times, but effective. Didn't watch TV as wifi was decent and just watched netflix instead. Wall outlets were at a premium and they don't hold plugs very securely, especially our mac chargers. There was a lamp on the desk with outlets that worked well. Had a fridge and a microwave and coffee maker available. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Indoor pool, hot tub and exercise room available. Hot tub nice for aching muscles the day after the run. Several restaurants in walking distance to the motel. There's another Best Western a block away from this one - be sure to stop on the correct one.
The room we stayed in was clean and updated. It is convenient to stay there if you are visiting your kids at the university. Close to restaurants and even the walking trail. Parking is sufficient and well lit. We have stayed here every time we visited the university.
Wonderful beds and pillows. Extremely quiet. New and mostly clean. Small but functional. Internet didn't work but we were too tired to care, so we didn't ask about it. Slept well. Very helpful staff arranged our family rooms close together so we could visit rooms. Grandkids enjoyed the pool.
The location is excellent, just in front of the campus entrance. Supermarket 5 minutes walking distance. Comfortable room, good breakfast and gimnasiun. Coffee and tea for courtesy. There are rooms without desk but when I ask for it they moved me to another one. Very kind people.
This existing hotel property was obvisiously purchased by the Best Western chain, while it is being renovated, it is a disappointment and vastly overpriced. The rooms are cramped and dark. The furniture while new, is big, heavy and dark is an already small, dark and dimly lit room. The Interior hallway has a heavy smoke smell. The bathroom fan made incredible noises and was totally inefficient. The newish shower stall already has mold in the seams. We stopped because it was listed as a Best Western and the corporate office should be ashamed of putting their name on this property without giving any warning about the property not being up to the standards of other properties.
Excellent staff, really good room, though bathroom was just a bit small(or seemed so because of the configuration and small doorway). Nice place, quiet. Pretty good restaurant(s) within walking distance. Didn't get to try the breakfast due to remodeling, but good Continental breakfast in place of it.
This is a fantastic hotel to stay at! Beds are very comfortable !! The rooms are nice and big and the bathroom was huge!! I wish I had that big of bathroom in my house! The breakfasts were amazing lots of great chooses ! Over all I would recommend all my friends and family to stay here !!! The rooms are far enough away from the road so there is no road noise ...that we could hear anyways! The staff was very sweet ! So inclosing great food, room and staff ! Oh yay and the beds are super comfortable to sleep on!
rooms are ridiculously cramped - obviously not designed for all that furniture. The heater/ac is an antique and completely energy inefficient with no temperature control. The TV channel selector is farcical. This is way over-priced for the uncomfortable rooms and very basic breakfast. Stay anywhere but here in Eugene. The staff on the front desk and housekeeping were very good and friendly, BUT ...
Right across the street from campus and across the pedestrian bridge from Autzen stadium. Clean room. Comfortable beds. Dated bathroom. Breakfast was good and well-stocked, even though it was busy. Basic accommodations, but good value for rate and location.
The room was clean, internet worked great, light breakfast served each morning. Centrally located (middle of town). Value for my money, excellent! Yes I would stay at a Best Western Hotel again. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay, and internet was free, this would be the place. The value is excellent!
The motel is right across the street from the Ford alumni center and the bus link so you can easily walk to campus and tour Eugene on the bus system. The room was very clean and well-stocked and breakfast was filling.
If you are allergic to animals, make sure you let them know! We were put in a pet friendly room and suffered the entire stay. The room smelled! We had an ant problem that did not go away once they came in and sprayed. Miserable stay!
The hotel room is pretty small but it was clean. Could use more lighting. The front desk staff was very nice and the pet area was easy to access since we traveled with our dog. They offer breakfast and the pool is open until midnight which is good with little ones when you get in late :)
This was a nice basic place to stay, the bed was very comfortable, centrally located near U of O. There are restaurants within walking distance, nice pool area, ample parking for hotel guests. We stayed overnight as part of a brewery road trip and visited several area brewerys, none of them were to far from this location! Only problem we had the morning we were leaving was one of the sinks.....a pipe came undone underneath and water went right down the drain on to the floor! ! Since we were checking out it was no big deal we just let them know. ..room 309....the king bed was very tall, so if that would be a problem you may want to check it out before booking. Personally, we like it that way. Overall a nice stay, affordable price too, very nice staff at the front desk as well.
I was really impressed with the front desk staff who checked us in at night. (I think her name was Macy?) She was super friendly, and check in was a breeze. The room was very spacious with lot's of room and everything in our room worked perfectly. Breakfast was great, and this location was easy to find. Best Western never disappoints.
Have been very pleased every time we stay. The staff are warm and wonderful. The rooms are exceptionally clean even the pet rooms. Great location as it is across the street from U of O., lots of things to do, see, eat and drink.
Stayed in this Hotel while visiting my son. Called the front desk clerk to find out why my bank account was billed 30 dollars in advance when I. Had not used any " incidentals." I had already payed for my stay in full. If I had not done this I may not have stayed at all. The person said the 30 dollars was a deposit. I asked why I had not been informed of this "deposit" at check the woman said that they must have been busy and it was an oversight. I was the only one present in the lobby at the check in time. I wonder what happen oversights happen when two customers are in the lobby. On the positive side even though I think the website does not represent this dated hotel accurately the grounds were clean, the room was clean, and the continental breakfast area was clean. The environment was not noisy so I was able to sleep up disturbed. On day one my room had a weird smell. I would not say it was a freshly cleaned smell it may have been associated with the heater. I eventually aclimated to it and it was not noticeable. The heater had a warmer setting but when I tried to warm the room there was no change in the temperature. The food provided at the breakfast nook was typical and adequate, a little boring, meaning it was exactly the same every day, but served the purpose of a quick bite before beginning the day's activities. Vending was outside the lobby doors and although I might have liked to use it Inwould have to walk across the parking lot to access it and as a woman alone this option seemed unsafe. I was able to sleep related to being very tired but the bed was very lumpy . My guess is the mattress is old or cheap.
Went for the weekend to visit granddaughter. Very nice place to stay. Great location, good food nearby. Nice deep swimming pool. Our only complaint was that the room seemed a bit dark during the day, not much they can do about that. All in all we had a great stay and visit with granddaughter....thanks.
Our room was absolutely enormous & well furnished. The amenities were spartan -- 2 towels and one bottle of shampoo but there was a small stream behind the hotel and we could watch the ducks from our balcony to balance this out. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to a lovely restaurant (Beppi & Gianni's). The breakfast was very basic.
I usually choose best westerns because of their reputation. This is a motel like hotel. Lots of noise late into the night and at 6 am people getting into their cars and yelling etc. people smoking outside our non smoking hotel room. No blankets just a sheet. We were freezing at night unless we had the heat cranked. Poor quality shower and bathroom. Very dumpy. Lightbulbs out. Breakfast was so busy and not well stocked. I ALWAYS look forward to the best western waffles. Well they had nothing for waffles. Basically just 3 kinds of cereal. Cold boiled eggs. Terrible coffee. Had to ask the woman attending while she was just standing there - where can I get a bowl ? Where can I get a knife ? Things were out and she wasn't even stocking them....? They also sent us to eat in the indoor pool room. Sorry I don't feel like eating my muffin in a room that is hot humid and reeks like chlorine. Front desk when we checked out weren't very nice either. Love best western. But this one sucked. Cancelled my second night and am staying at somewhere else there's so many hotels to choose from in this area.
Paid 126 for 2 queens. No conditioner in bathroom. Tub would not drain. Paper thin blanket on bed. Almost froze. Beds were decent and had breakfast included. Would never stay here again with so many better choices. Old fashioned motel that was upgraded at some time in past.
I always book hotels though kayak and only search for 3 star or higher hotels. This was a 3 star, but it had a 2 star feel. Staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good. It did have free wi-fi. But, the room I was in was old and it had a damp musty smell to it. That will turn me off to a hotel immediately. Price was cheap, but I got what I paid for, I guess.
For our visit, this property was 5 star! Check in was smooth and friendly. We traveled with another couple. Two sections of the Motel were readily apparent: a newer two story and older single story block of rooms. We stayed in the older section near the pool. Carpet was folded and musty smelling walking down hallway to the room. The entry door needed a swift kick or shoulder thrust to open. Heard the neighboring room have the same problem upon entry, a big boom to open it. The fluorescent light in the bathroom flickered and would not stay on. Maintenance was called, they said it was just a loose bulb. Worked for 10 minutes after they "repaired it". Would not stay on. A lot of noise outside the window of the unit. Some of it was vehicles and RV's driving down a back alley area. Loud voices came near a dumpster area where employees were taking a smoke break. Sounded like it was almost in your room! The free continental breakfast was a big disappointment. The waffle machine, which my wife loves was out of service both days of our visit. The juices were very watered down, the oatmeal was cold, out of a lot of food and so busy, no place to sit. Friends stayed in the newer two story section. Everything was much nicer there. Smelled fresher, doors opened no problem, nice and roomy and even had a deck with a park like view. If you stay here, request the newer block of rooms.
I was quoted a different price when I booked it over the phone and paid over 50 dollars more at check in. I even used my AAA card. There is also no way of proving it since it was over the phone. Better system needed.
I am a Best Western Rewards Member. I chose this hotel over the other Best Western on the same strip as it was rated higher & had better reviews than the other one on Trip Advisor. It also mentioned that this property had been renovated. Check in was disappointing as the girl who greeted us seemed irritated and impatient with me. She spoke so fast & seemed to be in such a rush. They had us booked in a second floor room but they do not have elevators so I asked if we could be on the first floor as we had a few suitcases to unload. She didn't seem very helpful. The room had a faint but unpleasant odor. Perhaps it was fresh paint. Sometimes paint leaves an odor if room is not aired out. There was a ball of hair plastered to the wall and another ball of hair in the drain that we did not see until we started showering. Since we only stayed for 1 night, we just cleaned it up and tolerated it all. I had a 2nd set of reservations for when we were returning to the area that I wanted to cancel but did not have time. We returned to the property again in a couple of nights.
Clean hotel, friendly lovely staff! The staff were clearly committed to the success of the hotel and seem to really care about customer satisfaction. Great location nearby the University District with beautiful grounds and awesome inexpensive restaurants. The hotel backs onto an area which had walkways where we took our dog for morning and evening walks! All was wonderful in the overnight stay while on our road trip south to California. A perfect stopping point from Vancouver, B.C. as the first point, on route. :)
In the past we felt we received good value for the price at a BW property; until this one. The bathroom would make a nice size phone booth, but ridiculous for any hotel bathroom, including a tub without any type of stopper! Very noisy; Heater/AC keeps you awake all night and the entire floor slopes to the front door so bad, you feel like you are climbing a small hill when you enter the room! How this passed a building code inspection is nothing short of a miracle. If you stay here, avoid Room #134 like the plague!
I wasn't sure what to think of this hotel when I first drove up, however, I ended up being pleasantly surprised. To begin my stay the lobby was very nicely done and the front desk staff were friendly. The room itself was also clean and quite large. I was in a room on the frist floor which opens up to the parking lot. This made me a little nervous, but I never had anything to worry about. The WIFI was free and worked really well which has become a must when I travel. The bed was pretty comfortable and I slept well for the three nights I was there. If you happen to be allergic to down pillows, ask for the foam. Although the down is synthetic down,it's not the down that I'm allergic to, but the dust that comes from the feathers down or not. The night I slept with the non-foam pillows I was extremely congested; the night with foam pillows no congestion. The Gym was well stocked with machines and exercise balls which was a plus. All in all I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Would stay here again if I needed to visit U of O.
I stayed here for two nights and overall I had a good experience. The room was clean and quiet, and the complimentary breakfast was satisfying enough. The location is close to everything without being right in the middle of the city center. Also, right behind the hotel (about 1/2 mile) you can access the trails that run along the Willamette River. It's a pretty nice walk/bike trail that takes you as far as you wanna go. I'd probably stay here again if I ever go back to Eugene.
We wouldn't think of staying any place else when ever we are in Eugene. The staff and facilities made our weekend fantastic!! My grandkids were entering a contest at the Festival we were attending and New Oregon went 'above & beyond' in providing service so the kids could change into their costumes and arrive on time. Thank you so much!!!
We checked in on Friday with a gentleman at the front desk. Not even a smile...this is not how a guest should be greeted. Our room was fine but did have a musty smell to it. The sheets were rough and bed a bit soft for me. We stayed two nights. The only complaint I gave to the front desk was that our room did not get serviced. I will probably not return but if you need to be close to the arena or University it should be fine.
If you want to be near the UofO, this is the place. Simply park and walk across the street and you are on campus. My son is considering UofO so we wanted to visit. I was a bit surprised at the price of the rooms for basically an old motor hotel. I requested a quiet room several days in advance of our arrival. That didn't seem to matter. The new clerk assured me that "all the rooms are quiet" and then place us near the main street's stoplight. This room also smelled terribly! We were then place 3 rooms down, not a big difference, but at least the room didn't smell. Quiet it was NOT! The next day I told the new desk clerk what happened and she offered to discount our room a bit more. She was apologetic and very nice. However the stay really should have been discounted more for several of the issues.
What a beautiful city. Great location that is close to the University and downtown. The room was clean and pleasant. The staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast was adequate because they only offer a few items. Overall a great place to stay in a charming city.
I've stayed at several of the motels on Franklin Blvd near the U of O, and this one is one of the better ones. But, it's still a motel with the cars parked a few feet from your door, and a walk in the rain to the lobby and the continental breakfast. The price is motel-like, too, which makes it all good. The room was clean, the bed comfy, and it was so quiet I overslept! The only problem: my room key worked only once. Every other time after that I had to trek to the lobby to get them to reprogram my key because for some reason, despite keeping it away from my cell phone, it would be wiped clean every single time after I used it once. It was a hassle. Otherwise, the stay was good, the continental breakfast was good enough for the price.
We like to stay in family friendly, CLEAN, and semi quiet hotels. We were a little hesitant about this "motel", but followed the reviews, & it was great! We were greeted by Macy, who was super friendly. Our room was very clean (which is most important to me when traveling). It was comfy, and quiet. The shower was awesome ( unlike most hotels that just have a trickle -_- running) We were able to park just outside our room. They have a pool, breakfast, and close to restaurants & bars. I don't give a 5 because the room was pretty dark, could use more light, and the breakfast was very limited. Other than that, I would highly recommend it.
I've stayed here before. The convenience of the location to U of O as well as the gorgeous walking trails behind the hotel makes this a definite great place to stay. 20 min walk to the stadium if that. Comfy and clean and great breakfasts
The Best Western New Oregon worked out great for our visit to the University of Oregon. The location was quiet and peaceful. If you are taking a tour of the university or attending an event at the arena this location is perfect because it's just across the street from the Alumni Center and Arena. The breakfast was nothing fancy but it was very convenient and nice to have.
very nice hotel and staff and everybody is friendly and helpful. BUT: Wi-Fi was constantly cutting out though, which I need to do my work. Overall I would chose this hotel again if they'd fix their Internet issues.
I had a one night stay and it was very comfortable, there was no noise until 9am when people were leaving. I slept great and I usually don't so I was happy! The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and the pillows, well their lucky one didn't disappear!! : ) The room was very clean and the staff was pleasant. I'll stay there again when visiting my son in Eugene.
My mom and I decided to stay here because we have a rewards card for this chain. We called to make a reservation and halfway through we were hung up on. We tried to call again and the line was busy, so we went to the website and made our reservation. We checked in and were told that our points would be added in the morning. Our room was pretty nice other than the fact that we were stuck in a dark corner. In the morning the man at the front desk refused us our points. He said it was our fault for not paying attention to the website we used, I showed him a screenshot of the website which was the Best Western website and he said that we were wrong. I will most likely be looking at other hotels first, Best Western will be my last resort.
Overall, this is an excellent choice if you want to be close to the University of Oregon. The room I stayed in was not fancy but was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
We stopped here on our way up to Seattle from California. Got there late at night. Staff was alert and helpful. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast selection was not so great tho. Was okay for what we needed.
This hotel was very nice. Small clean room that allowed our dog. Beds were comfy and staff was very pleasant. Wifi was great! The only thing I would suggest is an additional blanket or two. We turned off our heat at night and it got quite cold by the morning.
Too many online hotel (and restaurant) reviewers expect absolute perfection - as if they hold themselves to the same stratospheric standards (which I doubt). Some of the nits they pick are just ridiculous. In other words, I'd wager that every criticism of this cozy and comfortable hotel says more about the critic than it does about the hotel. The staffers I dealt with were friendly and professional, the room was spotless, the bed was comfy, the wi-fi signal was good, and the price was perfectly acceptable. (Not to mention the location, which is highly convenient for my needs.) I fully anticipate staying here again..
Front desk staff not friendly or helpful. Room smelled like feet. Bed collapsed in center. When told to front desk staff, the reply was really?? I have never been asked how my stay was and have stayed there several times. Maybe they don't want to hear?
Booked on short notice. Room, internet, breakfast, fitness center and pool were all good. A good value and I would recommend to others that need a day or two in Eugene. I'm not a Duck, but location would be good for duck fans.
We stayed here just the one night on the road back to Canada. This is an older hotel that seems to have had a great face lift. The rooms were very nice, pet friendly, and rooms have all been redone. The location was great and easy to get back to the road. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good as well. We will certainly stay there again if back in the area.
Very clean and comfortable with an excellent staff. Pool was great. Walking distance to good restaurants and bars. Conveniently located in the heart of town, close to university, shopping and hospital.
The bed was super comfy, the room was very clean (even behind the night stand - I plugged my phone in to charge it in the outlet back there. No dust, no cobwebs, just immaculate). Love the thoughtful touches too - the folded bath towel on the edge of the tub, on top of the floor mat and rubber non-slip mat. Drinking glasses made of actual glass. Two sinks in the vanity rather than just one. The heater was already turned on so the room was not cold when I got there at 11 pm. Love this place, they are doing it right and for a great price.
I can't say enough good things about the staff. From the time we arrived the staff was excellent. But the most impressive is the return of 2 diamond rings that I left in my room! Thank you Best Western for training your staff and hiring honest caring personnel.
On arrival....2 of three staffers at check in never looked up from their personal Iphones. Facebook must have been very interesting. Here are the low lights after that: Our keys weren't programmed, our room smelled musty, the back slider door was unlocked, toilet was clogged on arrival, noisy heater kept us up, hostess at continental breakfast seemed unhappy to be there and was very vocal about it being her Friday. My wife's first comment was, "Does the bed take quarters?" I would equate the experience to a $40 motel, not a $110 per night motel.
Our Best Western experience was the result of my wife having a very early morning appointment for minor medical surgery, so we selected the Best Western which wasn't very far from the hospital we needed to goto. This allowed us to save time from a long drive along with getting some extra sleep. Thanks to the extra comfort of our bed and all the amenities we had a very pleasent stay.... Thank you Best Western for fulfilling all of our needs.
This King room was so tiny & smelled odd! The staff needs to be trained regarding services dogs too! The hot tub was the best part of the stay! Very clean. The breakfast staff was very nice. Loved the pancake maker.
This was the smallest room ever. This property was built to pack as many football fans as possible into as small a space as possible. Unless you are travelling alone, plan to leave your luggage in the car
The fitness center was first rate, especially having individual TV's at each station. Food, although the standard rubber eggs and cardboard bacon, was acceptable but not overly appetizing. Average selection of breads.
I like to stay at Best Westerns due to consistency. This is an average hotel. The rooms were a little small, however everything else was good. Beds were comfortable. Wifi worked well. Did not eat the continental breakfast. Would stay again if needed to.
lots of flies in room. its cold out its winter and there are flies all over in room. buzzing in your ears, can't sleep because they are always on you. just was not a very pleasurable stay. will not stay there again
This hotel was clean, updated. The staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is located conveniently near University of Oregon. I would stay here again and would recommend to others. The breakfast was good and offered for a number of hours - convenient to getting up early or sleeping in. The bed was comfortable. The shower pressure was good. Overall the room was quiet and we slept well.
Stayed here before dropping my wife off at the airport for an early flight. It was an okay place to stay. It was a little cheaper than some of the hotels in Springfield that were a little closer to the airport but still a national brand I know. It was a little outdated but not bad overall. Check in was a little rough. The girl checking us in was new and the person that was there "training" her seemed a bit worthless. I felt a little bad for her. The jets in the hot tub weren't working but you could still sit in it and the pool was pretty nice. They advertised a restaurant that was next door on their key so we went over there for dinner. Sam's on Franklin. It was pretty good. Overall it was a decent place to stay for the price we paid. Just don't expect a 5 star resort for a 3 star price and you won't be upset.
My daughter and I needed to visit University of Oregon and we chose this hotel based on the convenient location. Let me start by saying that we stay in hotels very frequently, definitely more than the average person, and we are no very picky. The staff were very kind at check-in. That's where the good part ends. The room was "non-smoking", yet it wreaked so badly of cigarette smoke that we could barely breathe. After just a few minutes our clothing and hair smelled like smoke. The hotel was sold out and we could not be relocated to another room. The bathroom had mildewed grout throughout. There were middle school kids running around screaming outside all night, and running in the room above us. At breakfast there was nothing to eat as it had been ravaged and not re-stocked. There aren't many hotel option near the campus; however, there has to be something better than this.
This property is VERY convenient to anything you want to do related to the University of Oregon! Lovely walking distance to the football and baseball stadiums, across the street from the basketball arena. Several restaurants and a grocery store in easy walking distance. The rooms are dated but clean. The bathroom smelled a bit "wet" but was overall clean. The beds in our room didn't sleep very well (sag in middle) and the pillows are very flat (is this a trend because happening in all hotels on west coast). There was a creek behind our room that had ducks swimming on it - window opens up to the view - we enjoyed this. Staff are nice. The breakfast was disappointing - all starch and carbohydrates - no fruit (except bananas), not good really. Coffee a bit weak but plenty available.
My mother made a reservation at this hotel for my cousins wedding. It was not our first experience with Best Western, but this was our worst experience. We booked it with a government employee discount, and the very rude ladies at the front desk refused at first to honor our government employee discount because they only did the AAA discount. The ladies at the front desk had my mother in tears with their rudeness, and it took a lot of arguing for them to finally honor our reservation. It was a nice hotel, but I haven't stayed in a Best Western since. I will eventually, but this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth.
Stayed one night in Eugene for a conference. The conference hotel would not allow only one-night stay, so I chose the New Oregon. As a Duck fan I had wanted to check it out anyway due to all of the night games of late. My room was relatively close to Franklin Blvd, and I was concerned that I would hear the traffic all night. I was pleasantly surprised that the road noise was not bad. My room was larger than expected and nicely furnished. My only complaint was that the bathroom fan was pretty noisy. Breakfast in the morning was decent with a good selection, including good coffee.
Best Western is reliably decent and contiues to be so. I was disappointed that there was no bathtub in the room and my two teeagers were very disappointed in the breakfast. Overall it is a good value because it is clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. I would definitely stay here.
I stayed in a KIng Water view room. it was a good room with only one little problem. I could easily hear noise from upstairs when people walked across the floor and hear faint sounds from next door. Other than that it really is a good place to stay. The street in front of hotel is a bit anoying if you want to go back the other way its a bit tricky.
Very nice and clean. Great balcony and location! Easy to find and great service from front office staff. You can hear a train at night but didn't bother us. Kids loved the pool and Domino's is right next door.
Staff for the second time in a month was not receptive and seemed put off by having to check me in. Irritated by me asking about local eateries. Room was great. Breakfast was horrible and busy. No hot food. Overall, slept good and that's it.
The last time I was here I was very pleased. Not so much this time…. The room was dark, from decor to lighting. Yes, I had a balcony on the millrace, and that was lovely. I didn't feel the reception was especially helpful.
Stayed here for a UO football game with a large group of friends. The property is a little dated; although the rooms were clean, had all the necessities and wererelatively large. Hotel is set up like an older 'motel' where you park your car right outside your room. Two floors. We stayed on the first floor. Some of the rooms in the back of the property have balconys that overlook a small creek. Small indoor pool and hot tub; morning breakfast buffet (nothing extraoridnary). All things considered, I would have rated this hotel as 'good' but the location drove it up to 'very good'. It is a short walk onto campus to the football, basketball and track stadiums. Over the weekend, I did see nicer hotels, I did not see one more conveniently located. One note: the cost goes up significantly (about 3X) on football weekends which, given it's proximity to the stadium is understandable.
The rooms are non-smoking; however, smoking is allowed on the verandas overlooking the mill race (which is delightful). If smokers are in the room next door, you won't be able to use your veranda because the smoke will billow over to your veranda and your room. Most unpleasant. Otherwise, the hotel offers decent service and is close to campus.
The hotel is very nicely decorated. The room was very quiet and we could not hear any of the traffic noise from the street. We were not able to use the Exercise Room but wished we could have - the equpment looks of high quality. The front desk clerks were very helpful in recommending a restaurant. The breakfast area has plenty of seating, is well organized, and the food is kept replenished.
The AC unit didn't work, people smoking outside the room. So the AC unit only pulled in smoke from the outside, and didn't even cool it. The room are small -- very small for two people. The large disorganized furniture only makes it more so. The staff doesn't care about the AC not working or inforcing the no smoking policy. Over proced for the quality of the room, scratchy towels -- stiffest towels ever experienced in a BW hotel.
The room was somewhat dark and tight for space. However, +comfy beds +close to several restaurants & across street to UO +fridge (no microwave) - coffee pot in room booked for 3 people, was a 2 cup machine, - note to be enviro friendly, but disposable cups toiletries indifferent bathroom, a little tight but ok. - no where to hang clothes while showering/washing +friendly housekeeping & front staff - breakfast adequate, although awful coffee + inside pool internet connection spotty Location for UO was excellent, and rooms were perfectly adequate with comfy beds. A little noisy from courtyard/parking area, but otherwise ok. Due to the lack of space in the room, bags had to be moved in sideways, and the desk chair moved to allow room to move through to the bathroom at night. Would I stay here again? yes, if the rate is good.
I've always enjoyed Eugene and this stay was pleasant enough. The room was clean and comfortable, but the heating/cooling system (in my room) was a bit dated and not particularly well located. The breakfast was good, but not great, and was less than I expected from a Best Western in a medium sized city. While there is room for improvement in this hotel, my stay was pleasant enough and I would recommend this facility.
Very nice facility overall. I imagine it fills quickly when the U of O Ducks are playing in town. It is just across a busy but accessible street from the UO campus so is easy walking if you have something to do on campus. Good value
