Sad to have to leave this review. They put us in a pet room and we have NO pet. flooring was tile! YUCK! who wants to put their feet on a tile floor. on first night all you could smell was skunk (weed) and it would come under our door. There was absolutely zero water pressure to take a shower. Dont mind trying to run bath water cause the stopper wouldn't work either. This hotel use to be so nice and we have stayed here on numerous business occasions. Pool and hot tub were not cleaned and ready for use. Also two housekeepers were talking about how a room got broken into, in spanish. Now all this combined will have us drive the couple more miles into Blythe to stay at the Hampton on our business trips. I advise everyone who reads this to do the same.
The room was to an acceptable standard, however the advertised “all year round” pool has no water in in, neither does the jacuzzi. Breakfast was inedible, rubber eggs and overdone hash browns and bacon that had clearly been sitting there since 6am. There was no bread for the toaster, despite having butter and jelly and no hot water or milk to make the oatmeal. We did ask for bread and water/milk but were told there wasn't any. You get what you pay for I suppose, I'm off to Denny's for breakfast.
Unsatisfied with the hotel we stayed at previously in the CA/AZ border, we hoped for better accommodations at Desert Oasis. We had a near perfect stay. We thought the price was very reasonable, the breakfast was better than the usual powdered eggs and turkey sausage. The room was larger than normal and beds very comfortable with four pillows. The bathroom was sparkling clean and full functional with hot water. the cable choices were plentiful including HBO, movies free of commercials. Sounds quite perfect doesn't it?
Tried to check in 20 minutes early to an almost empty hotel and was told to wait until exactly 3pm....Hot Tub was barely luke warm tub with no remedy offered except it get's warmer the more you run it, which it did not.
The carpet was extremely nasty, The carpet was sticky & there were blood stains. The whole room felt dirty, and nasty. We kept our suitcases closed in case of bugs. Highway traffic noise was bad. Bad!
One night stay. Very good stay overall. Good place to Stop. Friendly service. Good location. Good staff. Overall, would go back again. Hope to be back in the area soon!! See you next time! We both thought it was great.
Clean, spacious, safe, parking and excellent full breakfast included. Staff was interested in the couple of adjustments needed in the room. Easy access. Quiet. I felt totally comfortable. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tube. Hotel backs onto the open desert. Cookies. Large rooms.
As a business traveler I look for Comfort, Clean, and Professional. This property has it all. Something for everyone for breakfast items. I usually travel with my own pillows, but they weren't necessary at this property. All staff was helpful and professional when asked for help. I would recommend and stay again when in the area.
Courteous, clean, professional, welcoming, helped us in our time of stress. Best western staff at desert oasis exceeded expectations for our family of 7. They took action right away and we were in great hands. The staff was amazing, the rooms were cozy and clean and the breakfast team was outstanding. Thank you so much!
Not what I expect from Best Western . Management staff very rude , room was fair , moved to Blyth for my next night and had a much better stay at the Days Inn , for 40.00 less per night ,Staff there was much more accommodating . room was cleaner . I would recommend the Days Inn over this BW any day .
i have stayed at the place for over 20 years, It used to be a great place to stay and very convenient. However The last few years it seems is has been on a decline. From the simple things like the bfast and pool to the rooms and all around area/clientele. The bfast used to be one of the better ones around, with biscuits and gravy (my favorite) to the prompt service, the pool was always open and clean. Now the bfast is low quality ( no biscuits and grave and nasty eggs) and the times I have stayed there, the pool has had some type of issue (either the spa dsnt work or the pool os closed for repairs). The security around the hotel Seems to be lacking as-well as there are more undesirable people walking around the parking lot. This used to be a great place and I believe that with a bit more “attention” it could become a great place again. I still stay there from time to time but it is not my first choice as before, I am still hanging on to the great memories I had of this place and that is why I refuse to let it go….
Me and my friend needed a last minute hotel somewhere along I-10 in the general area of Blythe, CA. Upon looking up Best Westerns since I am a Diamond member with them I saw this one in Ehrenberg, AZ, just across the River from Blythe. The price was slightly high for the area but it was late at night so I just went for it. Upon arrival we found that the property is not bad at all, it is located right off I-10 as soon as you enter Arizona, it is in the same parking lot as a Flying J travel center and Wendy's. Checking in was easy and the guy at the desk was nice. Upon getting to our room we discovered it was nice, but not by any means anything fancy. The room was clean, the bathroom probably could have used a little more attention but it wasn't bad. Overall we had a good night. Breakfast ends early though so we ended up missing that, but I would stay here again if I needed to.
Nice and new the location. The staff is friendly. The breakfast area has a terrible layout. The eggs were soaked in water. Or probably pre-frozen? The room was nice and clean. The location you'll want to be on the back side of the property because the front is a 24-hour active truck stop.
This hotel is definitely for one-nighters. The facility is well kept. The rooms are on the small side and a little crowded. I would love to tell you how great the breakfast was - but we skipped it since we got in a little late the night before. We were told at the front desk that they served between 7-8am. Maybe they figured you could just as easily go to the Wendy's next door. So, unless you are a trucker and need to get on the road really early on a Sunday morning - this hotel proves that there really is no such thing as a free meal.
We travel for a living and stay in many hotels. This one makes my top 5. Clean, everything worked, laundry available, and… free hot breakfast 5-9am. Only 3 hot food items… plus waffles, some pastries and other items.
The hotel is in need of updating. It is very tired and old looking. It was a decent value considering the skyrocketing prices some places are charging, but it's your basic hotel. The rooms were clean, but when we checked in at 4pm, we had to open the windows and leave for an hour. My husband and had burning eyes and couldn't stop coughing. I wanted to change rooms but he hates doing that after we carried everything into the room and preform go to dinner and let it air out.
The AC filter needed changed or something when i got there & turned the AC on (it was a 100+ degrees) dust particles were in the air & i was up all night coughing. $50 per night wld have been too much
It is an attractive hotel with an easy on and off of I-10. It was 107 degrees outside and we so enjoyed a swim in the refreshing pool upon arrival. I loved that the mini fridge had a freezer section. The only drawback was other than fast food there was absolutely nowhere to enjoy a nice dinner and an adult beverage anywhere.
We were on a 9 day road trip and this stop over was to get us thru Los Angeles and into Arizona on day 1. Their website indicates there is a Manager Reception week nights with lemonade and appetizers. When checking in on a Wednesday I asked the front desk clerk and he had never heard of it. The rooms are just okay - not the usual Best Western standard in my opinion. Our room's window had a huge crack running thru the length of it. A lot of truckers stay here as there is parking for their large semi trucks. The pool was not clean. The room was very small, especially the bathroom. But it was quiet and there was a decent hot breakfast the next morning. Lots of parking. No elevator, so if you a room on the second floor be prepared to take it up the stairs yourself. But easy on/off the freeway and next door is a large gas station.
Easy access to the freeway. Rooms were clean and breakfast was warm and ready in the morning. You're right next to a gas station so fill up here and save a lot versus buying gas in California. We'll be staying her again.
Just keep driving. Plumbing not properly maintained. Rusted drains, water running from the second floor into our bathtub. Broken faucet. Staff unconcerned. Corporate not helpful. Refusal to make a concession for unsanitary conditions.
This hotel was very dated, not a Plus Best Western as we know it. It was clean, maintained ok, but again dated. There was no charing station in the room. The linen was clean but well past its usable date.. Breaskfast was low grade items.. Internet was slow in our room.
My ‘typical' review goes like this: When traveling, we consider several factors in choosing lodging, then rating it afterwards. Reviews by others are very important, and we do our homework. Other considerations are location, price, available breakfast, and communication. Comfort, adequate lighting, bathroom counter space, shower water pressure…are all things that make a stay comfortable or not. We try and get hotels that have character or a feel for where we are, for the type of trip we are on. In other words, when in Prague, we don't want the Hilton. Exceptions are when we need a place to just sleep while passing thru an area. My reviews are based on these factors. 2 couples were needing a place to stay near the Quartzsite area, just for a night. I have been by here many times a year for decades and never knew there was a hotel here. We managed to find a REALLY good price on a website we had never heard of and were cautious but all worked out great. Good: Comfy bed, TV, bathroom counter and lighting, curved shower curtain, Location and price. Breakfast was nice, adequate. Negative, I made a note about the shower but can't read my writing. I think it was just too crowded in the room with the door. I would stay here again on another trip to Quartzsite, if I get a decent price.
Have stayed here many times, never had a problem. The rate has increased exceedingly. Had a problem with a maid that didn't clean the room but said that she had. The bed was not made, towels were not replaced.
They did not honor my pet reservation even though it was clearly on the reservation form. The manager and front desk said too bad we don't have your room even though I called at 5 pm to make sure..then at 9 pm after driving all day and no other available room within 100 miles they say too bad..They did not even say they were sorry. Snotty and terrible attitude from front desk and manager.
upon arrival I was given a diferent room my room was not ready, I went to my room right away I was very tired from a 500 mile trip, I,m 75 years old and tire easly. I LAYED DOWN ON THE BED TO GET SOME much need, rest There was noise in the next room i knock on the agoing door no responce i went to the front door no ansewer I laid down for a second time still noise, I spoke to the manager. He said he can not stop any one from makeing noise till after 8 pm. I ask for a diferent room. He said no extra rooms. Some how I did not belive him> I ask for my money back he said he could not do that. By that time it was dark so I went next store to get som dinner, Upon my return to best western I went to my room. My key did not work. I had to go down stairs again, to have a new key made, He said I thought you left, I said you have my money I have no choice, but to stay, I tooik a shower in a dirty shower with the cold and hot swiched. I went to plug my phone in for the night, No plugs by the bed. Across the room I found a plug, 830 the noise stoped. Just beware of this place if you want quiet. They are rude and disrespectfull. Hospitality NOT.
I've stayed at most of the local hotels near here (in Blythe, CA) and this place is where I tend to come back to. The customer service is spectacular as they will go above and beyond to try to make things right. Their breakfast is good if need to eat something in a pinch but I've had better breakfast at Best Western Plus locations. The staff are friendly and will help you out if needed and I've consistently seen them keeping the vicinity clean. Out of the 100+ nights I've stayed here, I've only experienced less than 5 times something didn't work (most of the time I didn't need it so I didn't bother to ask for a new room or something fix, but the time I needed help they provided exemplary service.
I was surprised how quiet the room was being so close to the freeway. Had a good nights sleep. The staff was very nice and welcoming to me and my dog. Room was clean. Needed to stop between Los Angeles and Phoenix because of Thanksgiving traffic and glad I picked this hotel.
All went well. We used the pool, whirlpool and fitness center. Had a great breakfast. Hotel has been fairly recently updated apparently. Good value. I would stay there again. Better than some other hotels in this price class. We had a small dog along, so that was a requirement to have a room with pets.
Check in was smooth and easy and very nice staff behind the counter. My room was spacious and clean. Nice WiFi, AC and the bed was very comfortable. Really appreciated the large refrigerator and separate freezer in the room. I'm traveling 2000 miles and have two large coolers with me, so having the large freezer compartment was a bonus for my blue ice packs. It was very easy to find the hotel and there was a gas station and fast food close by, but heard no noise at all in my room. Nice to have the option for the free breakfast in the morning. Usual hotel food: waffles, cereals, bagels, toast, etc. the dining area was clean and worked out great for me. I would stay here again anytime I am passing through the area.
Nice stay for on the way home makes the trip home so much easier I lived how the staff was in the breakfast area assisting with refill and cleaning and we enjoyed the pool I feel safe here its or go to on our trip home
Had a death in the family and needed to make a last minute trip to help my mom, got a room with 2 queen beds and with it being a weekend and at the river I understood a ground floor room could be hard to get however I explained to Beatrice the situation and that my mom may stay with me and may not be able to walk the stairs she put a request for ground level and Beatrice/Best Western Desert Oasis came thru ground floor next to an exit - made the purpose of my trip a lot easier and less stressful. Very thankful and appreciative. Thanks again April
I was just there for one night, and the stay was just fine. I arrived at 7:30 pm. I was a bit surprised that late that the front desk agent needed to go check to make sure my room was ready. It was ready... no problem, although I noted housekeeping was still cleaning rooms. (There was a sign on the marquee advertising help wanted, so clearly they are trying to hire more staff). Hats off to their housekeeping staff which is clearly working hard to get everything clean. Breakfast was served by an attendant, but did include several hot options including fresh waffles, cheese omletes, and breakfast burritos. One other pleasant surprise: According to the Best Western website, the pool and spa are closed for renovations. It appears the renovation is complete as both appeared open (and looked great), so that news item appears to be outdated.
The staff were friendly. The shower could use new caulk and the outlet by the nightstand needs replacing--plugs are very loose from heavy use. The breakfast was better than average for hotels in this Covid world. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Truck stop next door was a little noisy. Price was a little high considering the location and town.
The staff was great! The pet friendly room needed to be cleaned better to eliminate odors. The beds were good. The outside surroundings were questionable. Right next to a truck stop/gas station several transients wandering around the area.
The check in was quick. The room was clean and well kept except for the tub area. It needs some chalking They served paper bag breakfast: cup of yogurt, blueberry muffin, banana, granola bar, crushed cookies, and orange-pineapple juice. I guess it was better than nothing. The clerk wore a mask but housekeeping was another story. Majority of them did not wear masks. The AC worked great. No restaurants nearby.
Try to get a room , was told by Anthony the clerk that no room would be rented to me because I live in Blythe, ca. Per clerk and customer service all the people that live in Blythe will destroy the rooms. Reason that I needed room my home was just burned and the my insurance company recommended best western. DO NOT GO THERE
I'll state the facts, you can make up your mind: Made the reservation, asked for a 1st floor king suite with a couch (didn't have to be a hide-a-bed) Was specific that if this couldn't be accommodated to contact by email - included in the request block. Arrived at 2:55, was told because of COVID couldn't check in until 3:00. No one else in the lobby. Upon check in, clerk looks at rewards card and said "Oh, you're just Basic." "Are you handicapped?" They really asked that. "We don't have the room you want on the first floor." Room temp was 71 upon arrival, kept getting warmer. Called the desk. They came and put the fan on Low and said "that works sometimes". (This was on a thermostat mounted to the wall that I later determined did nothing) No offer to fix the A/C, asked about another room "we're booked" Half a roll of TP, no spare. Ice machines dead - but they did give us a little bag of ice. Recessed light fixture hanging out of the ceiling. 2 TV remotes - one is channel, one is volume. Never, EVER was there are person at the front desk - you have to ring a bell and that irritates them. The room was clean.
This was the 2nd time and we stayed 6 nights. While the rate for the week was very good, the service was very slow and the room very disappointing. Cramped and not clean. First time I stayed here I was pleasantly surprised, but this time we were quite disappointed. Will have to reconsider staying here again.
I wanted to hike the desert around the Colorado River driving between Palm Springs, CA and Phoenix, AZ. This was the perfect location, and a great reasonably priced hotel with great service. I highly recommend.
Service was exceptional especially during this difficult time. Staff was very attentive to all of our needs and provided excellent customer care. I will be recommending this particular Best Western to family and friends. Great ambience.
Housekeeping was thorough, convenient parking, breakfast option, rooms were clean and modern. Rooms were big and right near Wendy's (drive through) and travel gas station. I stayed for four nights and everyone was nice.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue we encountered was a broken sink drain that drained very slow. There was no maintenance there to fix it and we were unable to switch rooms due to bringing our dog. It was the only pet room available. It was only a minor inconvenience. Everything else was great.
This was a motorcycle trip back to the bay area from Daytona. We stayed here after little over 500 miles of riding. The hotel was on the new side and very clean. Rooms were comfortable and in excellent shape. This was during COVID-19 so grab n go breakfast was only thing available. We did get dominos pizza at night and had seating outside to enjoy our dinner. This was very nice experience with a good value.
The room to room noise level is unbelievably loud. We could hear conversations above us, next to us and from across the hall. There is no elevator in this hotel and the front loader wash machine smelled.
Everything about the place is okay; nothing special. It is just inside the Arizona border from California. There is only a Wendys if you want to eat out and a truck stop/gas station next door. It IS a much better place to stay than the Best Western in Blythe.
My son and I went into the lobby to check in--with my service dog in full view. I was told by the manager that service dogs HAD to be on the first floor. That violates federal law. I told her that people with service animals cannot be restricted to a particular room/part of the hotel. She just kept arguing with me. We had requested a second floor room and was told about their "policy." Then the excuses started flowing about the type of room I wanted was not available on the second floor. So I asked for any room (this was about 3:00 in the afternoon, not late in the day when the hotel was full). No, service dogs had to be on the first floor. They gave my son the wrong type room so he had to move to another room. Then the new room had dirty sheets and he had to ask housekeeping to change the bed. The bathrooms are really tiny and it's an old building. I did report the federal ADA law regarding service animals to the Best Western corporate offices. I got a call and the company rep read me the manager's answer to my complaint. Every thing the Desert Oasis Best Western manager said was true but she left out one thing -- what she said about isolating service animals. That she denied. I was assured this manager Beatrize would be educated and would not do this any more. One can only hope.
First mistake we made was not asking to be switched from an adjoining room as soon as we realized we were in one. However, I had overheard the guy at the front desk telling someone they only had a couple rooms left that day, so they likely couldn't have switched us anyway. It was noisy. Sounded like the neighbors and their tv were right in the room with us, and they really weren't being excessively loud. The light also shone thru the crack in the adjoining door, and theirs was on during the wee hours. Sigh. Pillows just awful. Hard, little squares. If they do nothing else but swap out these terrible pillows, that'd be a huge improvement. Poor water pressure and difficulty adjusting temp in room kind of disappointed as well. Positives were parking, large king room, mini fridge and microwave, close to gas station, reasonably decent breakfast, nice staff, and good value. We didn't try out the small pool, but it looked inviting. A few small changes and they would have a lot more happy customers.
Clean rooms, friendly staff and nice hot breakfast. Conveniently located right off of I-10. Was here on business and it was a very pleasant stay. Check in was easy. I liked the nacho bar when we arrived, too. Nice touch.
We've stayed at this hotel in January for several years. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and there is plenty of space in the room. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. There are several choices for breakfast and the hot entrees were very good. On weeknights we were usually able to make it back in time for the evening snack (soup & salad, or chili, etc) and a cookie. All of the staff was friendly and helpful.
This was a very nice hotel on the I10 corridor which is a little isolated. We appreciated the laundry room and enjoyed the happy hour. Breakfast was fine although some healthier options would have been appreciated.
If you make reservations through a third party once you check in you will get no refund or credit for late arrival, or early departure. They falsely blame it on the third-party policy, while they are the ones who hold the money and are in control.
After a long day of driving, I found this great Best Western right off the freeway. I did not have a reservation just walked in and got a room. Very nice. Clean. Nice professional staff. Decent size room. Had refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom had a tub, which my grandbaby loved to splash around in. They had a decent breakfast with waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal and fruit. I did not use the witness center or pool, but they had both.
Found 2 spots of DRIED BLOOD on my top sheet, the area which is by my face! UNACCEPTABLE! Mattress was LUMPY and uncomfortable making sleep difficult. Room was HOT and STUFFY. Cooling system did NOT WORK AT ALL, causing more sleeplessness. NO working INTERNET service! Both sets of curtains DO NOT BLOCK outside lighting making it seem like daylight. NOT an experience ever I wish to repeat!
Location and room was fine, but the breakfast was awful. No butter, no coffee (though it did eventually get there) eggs were disgusting and bananas were only able to be used in banana bread as they were way too ripe!
Cheap no frills hotel right off of I-10 but bring your ear plugs. Walls are paper thin. Good gym, clean rooms and basic breakfast. It is located at a Flying J truck stop so you have to factor that into your decision to stop.
So, going from Hawaii to anywhere with a dog is not easy. We had to fly to LA, then rent a car and continue the rest of the way to Phoenix. We had booked this hotel ONLY because it was "dog friendly" (I am generally loyal to Hilton), as the only Hilton outlet in Blythe did not accept pets. I exercised due diligence in every way: made the reservation on bestwestern.com, indicated that I had a dog, and even CALLED the hotel from LAX to advise that we would be checking in VERY late in the evening (+/- 2:30 AM). So ... we arrived at the hotel at 2:30, and were deemed to have been no-shows. :( The person was able to "correct" that, but then was miffed to find that we had a dog, saying we weren't "booked" into a dog-friendly room, and had booked on a 3rd party website (WTF? We booked on bw.com). So we were cancelled, accused and spoken to condescendingly. Um yeah. Not really accustomed to that. In the morning, I went to speak with the manager, and she understood nothing about good customer service ... not interested in the fact that I had SPOKEN to her agent Jesus about arriving late, but rather explaining to me in detail why that happens at 2:00 AM ... really ... not my problem. Check me in, do what you have to do ... what if there had not been a room available when we arrived? Read your remarks, I had indicated that I had a pet. And THIRD PARTY? REALLY? So this may or may not have been a "pet-friendly" room, I really don't know ... but I DO KNOW that the diverter from the bath tub to the shower didn't work, so we literally couldn't shower. Manager didn't seem too concerned about that either. I say in hotels 50-60 nights per year or more (see reviews), and am generally not too critical ... but this was out of control. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this hotel. Our experience with management aside, the carpet was disgusting, the issue with the shower, and old style bedspread (ewwwww). But what I really hate is poor management.
Stayed 1 night and was very surprised at this place. Easy off and on to the Interstate right next to the Truck stop. Very quiet even though you are next to a Truck Stop and Interstate. The room was very clean and the rest of the place was above average. Well Done ! The Front Desk people were super friendly both for Check In and Check Out. Great Chocolate Chip Cookies and the serving of Pizza as a snack was much appreciated . The Breakfast was very good too and both the serving staff at Night and for Breakfast were both doing a great job. Some pride in the Hotel sure came through from all of the Staff who we came in Contact with. A stay here is cheaper than across the River in CA which is a bonus. If passing this way in the future will certainly be stopping off at this Hotel.
great rooms... clean roomy bathrooms,.. in room coffeemaker.... conferrable bed's... king size with lots of pillows..... refrigerator..... micro wave oven .... there is not much to eat there but there is a bar and Cafe on the other side of the freeway by the gas station great food.
This place is great except the manager and another staff member at the front desk. They canceled my stay but didn't tell me until I arrived. I was annoyed and told the manager she could have done a better job letting customers know they were canceling everyone. I complained to customer service and in turn that manager banned me from booking there again.
The staff at the desk was nice. Only one that I doubt with acknowledge my elite status. But I'm okay with that okay. I opted out of the maid service to go green. But the housekeeping collected by my door and was yelling at each other down the hall which made it very uncomfortable for me and I have to tell them to stop yelling at my door. And while eating breakfast I noticed that the pastries where are stale and hard or dry however you want to look at it. And they attendance was on her cell phone the whole time that I was collecting my breakfast. The drain in the bathtub did not hold the water for me to take a tub bath so I had to use a plastic bag to create enough suction to hold the water in. Other than those few issues I didn't have an issue with the room. It was a nice room and was on the end by the door where my dog could easily go in and out of which I enjoyed that. It was by a truck stop so it did get kind of loud at times but not during the sleep hours.
I chose this hoted simply because I was traveling and could not drive anymore without falling asleep. Check in was fast and easy, and the room was warm and quiet. I have great difficulty sleeping away from Home, but the comfort and calmness of this room made my night.
Was able to get a surprisingly good price for a clean hotel with breakfast provided. Friendly service at the checkin desk and hospitality room. Would stay here again. Booked thru booking.com. Easy freeway access.
Wow! It was a shock how cold the water was. Very clean, and oh so refreshing. We requested a different room, after we saw the location right by the breakfast room and the ice machine, and this was promptly and nicely granted. Our room was on the second floor, and it was roomy, cool and quiet. Bathroom was small but I really liked the Waterpik shower head. The breakfast room was a walk down the hall from the lobby area, but it had a lot of seating area, and the offerings were the usual. Nicely, the meat offered appeared to be Canadian bacon, and it was tasty.
I stayed at this hotel because it was halfway between L.A. and Tucson, where I was traveling for business. I just wanted a clean, comfortable, convenient and safe place to spend the night and this worked out very well for me. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Parking was very easy. Access on/off the freeway is easy. The gas station next door is convenient. When I arrived on Thursday evening there was still some pizza and salad available, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was also appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.
This was the perfect stop over. We travelled from Mecico going to Sedona. Lovely feel of a desert location. Pool are very clean and relaxing. Huge amount of free parking. Convenience store and food next door.
Great staff. Everyone was awesome. Check in was superb. Breakfast was delicious. Beds were very comfortable and room was spacious. Pillows were lumpy and the air conditioning never really cooled the room down.
This property was old and dated. I mean really slow and dated. You dont need key to to get in the garage or elevator. As far as value I used points (36,000) for 1 night which other wise the room is over $300 a night.. forget that. Use your points!!!
I always like to stay at this hotel In the summertime so the kids can swim in the pool and just relax on a hot day, then we go and shower up, and watch some HBO and relax on the nice soft beds. The beds are always comfortable and staff is very friendly. My kids and I love the deluxe hot breakfast that they offer in the morning. Lots to choose from, they love to make their own waffles. They also offer a nice snack Monday through Thursday from 5pm to about 6 or 7pm I'm not too sure exactly. We also love the fact that it is right next to a truck stop that has a Wendy's, and Cinnabon for just a small walk across the parking lot. So if we want a snack or something we just walk right over and get what we want without needing to drive anywhere. The truck stop also offers sandwiches and hot slices of pizza, and a few other ready to eat foods to choose from. I live in Blythe which is only 5 mins away and there are a few nice hotels there also but I like to stay at this hotel because it is quiet and lots of privacy plus it is my kids favorite hotel in the area. All in all I think you get the most bang for your buck without sacrificing any cleanliness or hospitality.
We stayed here while traveling to California. The hotel and room were nice & clean. The cookies at the front desk at checkin were delicious. The pool is very warm from the heat in the area. We really enjoyed swimming in the warm water after it got dark. Plenty of parking for large vehicles with trailers. There is a truck stop next door with a Wendy's other than that I did not see many restaurants. My only complaint is that I could here people above us and in surrounding rooms walking and talking at times. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful.
Nice rooms, well laid out, nice pool, super helpful and friendly staff. Nice breakfast variety and quality, nice fitness room. Better value than neighboring communities but still convenient for food/fuel.
This hotel is literally in the middle of the hot, dusty desert off the highway. It "feels" worn out from the constant use of weary travelers, truckers and the State road workers. The room was clean and basic. It served it's purpose. The breakfast was one of the better ones we've experienced - so that was a nice surprise.
We stayed one night and it was nice. Our group had three other rooms as well.. There was a lot to choose from for breakfast and it was a lot better than repeating the same menu at the restaurant next door.
Great location to the river for boating. Very quiet rooms and pet friendly. Staff was accommodating and professional. Very kid friendly, just don't plan on getting any pool use if it's a couples trip.
We had a spacious room with aircondition, fridge and freezer compartment. The WiFi was very good. There was an icemachine and even a little pool outside. The staff was very friendly and you get a good breakfast there.
This is a great stop right before you cross the state line into California from western Arizona! A smaller motel with interior doors for security. Nicely appointed rooms with free wifi, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Flat screen TV. Outdoor pool for the hot summer days. Plenty of free parking. Free hot breakfast! Non smoking rooms available.
Upon entering the room, the smell was horrendous. I asked for another room but was denied. When opening the sheets, they had already been slept on. There were dark hairs on bottom sheet which I swept into an envelope to show the hotel mgr. when I handed her the sheet. The linens had to be 20+ years old....gray and dingy. I asked for fresh sheets and was given only a top sheet because I had only brought one sheet to the desk. (Owned by the Greens Group, I didn't realize 'green' met sharing the previous tenant's sheets.) There was no television remote; upon using the t.v. side buttons, it would only turn on....the volume or channel buttons didn't work. The walls were flimsy so I could hear the adjoining room's set until 2am. The refrigerator didn't operate but it was so filthy that was probably a save. The exterior hallway door's lock was broken so you could go out but not come in; this was true of other exits also. I asked the mgr for another room but was denied stating unavailability despite the fact that there were only about 12 vehicles in the parking lot. I believe I slept four uncomfortable hours. In the early a.m., a maintenance person actually washed the exterior window of the room. Comical and disgusting.
Priceline...ugh...I saw immediately that my date was booked wrong and for a "smoking room". Priceline would not change my date, Hotel refused to change date. Never will I use both of these services again. It was an honest mistake and caught almost immediately. Hopefully my credit card company can intervene.
The room smelled of gas. The plugs were faulty. The wall had termites. The room overall was clean. The AC only blew air not cold air. The side door was broken and the front desk told us to use it. I don't think he was informed of it being broken. Stayed 4 previous times with no issues, this time was bad. I don't recommend unless more item are fixed. We will stay somewhere else next time.
The hotel very clean outside and inside. The front desk Beatriz(The only),very friendly and professional. The room very clean and large. Great air conditioning Everything works. Wifi very fast. Breakfast great. Pool and hot tub. And in happy hour, soup, salad, soda cheese and cookies.
The hotel very clean outside and inside. The front desk Beatriz, very friendly and professional. The room very clean and large. Everything works. Wifi very fast. Breakfast great. Pool and hot tub. And in evening, soup, salad and cheese A plus.
Clean hotel with wonderful fitness center, pool/jacuzzi and great food at happy hour and breakfast. The staff was VERY helpful, and the hotel location is a nice halfway point between LAX and PHX. We appreciate the microwave, refrigerator, and great air conditioning as well as refreshing punch and fruit at check in.
I honestly can't give a review other than that I am SERIOUSLY upset with the front desk check in Lady. I was traveling with elderly father and was trying to get a reservation at this Best Western. I called and was put on hold, which is fine as I understand when they might have to help other customers. I was on hold over 10 minutes. The Lady came back to help and I was able to verify the location of the hotel before she told me to hold again. I said I had bad service and needed to reserve a room before losing my cell signal, well I got cut off and then couldn't get anyone so I stayed at a TERRIBLE Super 8 in Quartzsite, AZ. PLEASE DON'T STAY AT QUARTZSITE SUPER 8!!! The front desk lady at Best Western in Ehrenburg, AZ was either having a very bad day or really hated her job. Called at around 7pm April 2, 2019 in case Management reads this review.
Stayed here on our way to California Normally would stay at Hampton but they were full. This one ostensibly is the same as a having nice room and free breakfast. However just a little lower in all respects Took forever to check in Room newly remodeled but still with smell of cigarettes Shower small and poor water pressure Breakfast good but no yogurt and very carb heavy with little protein Overall a good hotel but it is cheaper
It's right on the California/Arizona line. It's so close, you can see the line for the fruit inspection station. It's an area built for long haul truckers with a travel stop right next door with a Wendy's. The staff was very helpful. I had a problem with the air conditioner, second night in a row. She gave me another room with one that worked. WiFi was outstanding. You are 145 miles from Phoenix and it was a pretty good stopover.
I'm extremely disappointed in Trip Advisor and Expedia. I clicked on Yuma hotels to book a room there the night before a dental appt. in Algodones. I booked a Best Western and payed for it. Then when I received my receipt it said the hotel was in Ehrenberg. The hotel was one hour and forty mins from Yuma. No where on the site did it say it was not in Yuma or how far it was. I contacted the hotel and they couldn't cancel it and Expedia wouldn't cancel it even though I asked for another Best Western in Yuma. When we arrived the desk clerk told me that this is the second mistake that Trip Advisor has made on this same hotel in two days. She says this has happened about five times in the last few months. My advice is do not book on Trip Advisor or through Expedia. If there is a mistake they have your money and will not help you
Spend a few dollars more and stay at the a Hampton Inn down the road. This place is no oasis. The rooms were bad shape and the beds was horrible. The problem with best esteem is they have no consistency.
Clean, everything worked. We came with pets, so we were housed at the end of the hotel for pet-friendly rooms. We pick up after our dogs. Apparently a lot of other guests--and the staff at the motel--don't. And when will American motel breakfasts start competing with the rest of the world? My god, it's embarrassing.
I stayed there 1 nite on the way to my destination. The hotel is convenient to the 10 Freeway, and the Flying J gas station, just on the AZ side of the AZ/CA border. This hotel needs some TLC. It seems old and on the shabby side, and maybe not spotless. There was duct tape stretched across the entire length of the doorway into my bathroom, presumably to cover some problem between the bathroom tile and the hall tile? The carpet itself has seen better days. I had a 1st Floor room, for which I was grateful, because there is no elevator. My room key didn't not work, and I had to go back to the front desk to get it handled. It didn't work a second time. As the front desk clerk helpfully walked with me to my room with her master key, she explained that there are several room in the hotel that for some reason "don't start working for about 15 minutes after they are programmed", and she guessed that maybe my room was having that problem. Sure enough, after about 10 minutes, my room key magically began working. My room had all the amenities, and everything worked. There was a large flat screen TV with a lot of channels, and an easy chair with footstool. The bed was comfy with very nice pillows, but they are stingy with blankets. As I had a queen room and was a solo traveler, I used the blanket from the other bed, and was very comfortable. The hotel offered soup and salad in the evening, which I did not try, and a free breakfast, which I also did not try, as I slept late. I saw a very nice looking pool outside my window. There are also laundry facilities. The front desk night person was terrific. She worked to get my key issue fixed, and also came to my room to help me get the TV working properly. All in all for a place to stay while passing through, it was adequate and comfortable. Just not Best Western great.
We returned to this BW because we had liked it a year ago. Nicely furnished king room with two chairs. I wish other motels did that. Big refrigerator with freezer where we could store our little cooler ice packs. Fresh fruit and coffee in the lobby in the evening. Excellent breakfast bar with choices of hot foods, pastries, hot oatmeal, waffle machine and a nifty new pancake maker. Push a button, get 2 pancakes in one minute. Also an attentive staff member to keep breakfast items in good order.
Do not stay here, air conditioner was broken and they said they would have to replace the whole unit. Keep in mind I stopped there because I became ill. So I would have to lay there while they took hours to replace it. Didn't offer me a different room so I had a fever and chills and couldn't regulate the temp of my room. Mgr was a jerk, front desk was not helpful, housekeeping was rude. I work st the prison nearby and will not recommend to my friends. We all come from elsewhere so we need a place to stay. Will share my experience. Ps dog feces all over property
Great staff, great rooms. Walk-in, no reservations but got a room on the ground floor per request. Quiet and comfortable stay. Breakfast was very good considering normal hotel fare. No problems, whatsoever. Will definitely stay again.
We were well satisfied with the Desert Oasis. We asked for a quiet room and it was nice and quiet, even though it was near a truck stop. We didn't hear any truck noise or highway noise at all. It's right near a fast food restaurant and gas station so that's handy. We'd definitely stay there again.
Did not stack up to previous Best Western stays. Rooms were not of usual Best Western quality. Breakfast was very nice and front desk staff were friendly, but accommodations were not up to previous Best Western stays.
I had my reservation for several months when I called the motel to ask if rooms were available for a different date. The person who answered the phone cancelled my existing reservation even though I specifically said that I wanted to keep it and possibly extend. When she changed the dates back the rates went way up (from $79 a night to $139 a night). Then she said the computer wouldn't let her change it back. I spoke to the manager later in the day and was told the same thing. I called bestwestern.com because I had booked through them originally. Again, they couldn't get my original rate back. Final answer -- "rates are subject to change". Very disappointed! I spent 40 days at Best Western last year. It doesn't mean a darn thing to be a "Diamond Member". I won't be back. I'm switching to Comfort Inns.
A budget hotel, usually Best Western are a little better. This one has not been kept up. The breakfast is very average. Luggage cart was wrickity, hard to push. Door card did work well. Not worth the price. Will not stay here again. Keep going.
Spent one night. Good check in. Newly renovated room. Good breakfast. Pet friendly. Parking was excellent. Enjoyed our short stay.Wendy's and truck stop just a few yards away. Some noise from room above but nothing to be too bothersome. Great bare lot behind property for walking the dog.
This motel was better than I expected. The room was large with nice clean soft white bedding no tacky prints. It was very quiet and the refrigerator was big! Nice large tv screen with HBO Cinemax ect. Very nice. The make your own waffles were fun!
This was the only hotel in town and we were there meeting some relatives who are snow birds so we could visit for a few days. My expectations were very low going in mostly because of the value. To my surprise it was a very nice hotel. Could not believe how sparkling clean the room was. Even the remote control and telephone were sparkling clean. Great location by the freeway but not much freeway noise, nice pool and hot tub, friendly service and nice breakfast and coffee. Highly recommended.
This was the first time my husband, myself and friends have stayed at this hotel. It was easy to find, very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast hot. Can't ask for more!
This was perfect for an overnight stay. Cookies on arrival, nachos for "happy hour”(no alcohol). Very clean room comfortable bed. Typical breakfast. Not many choices for dinner nearby, had to go to next town about 5 miles away. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Stopped here while going to Phoenix, really nice hotel for the price! Everything in our room was really clean and appeared almost new. The guy who checked us in late night was very accommodating and helped with getting a ground floor room (spouse had recent knee surgery). I would highly recommend this hotel! Full breakfast served in a nice setting, also have dinners I hear.
Super convenient, super clean, modern, and comfy rooms. Exceptional crew and honest to boot. Left some valuables in the room, including cash, and they made sure that I got it all back--that alone deserves all the stars. But it really is a great value.
While driving to LA from Tucson, this place is great to stay - especially with our small dog. The bed was super comfortable. The breakfast room was clean and well stocked and the staff assisted me in preparing my Belgium waffle. My husband left his personal pillow in the room. I called after returning home and they are mailing it back to us.
After a long drive, this was the perfect spot to land . Check-in was quick and easy and the staff welcoming. Breakfast was good and the bad was comfortable. Room was clean and lots of pillows. Would stay here again.
We walked into Best Western to a beautiful contemporary lobby and a fragrance of comfort only to be greeted by the most welcoming staff we have ever experienced. Our check in was speedy and organized to we could quickly get into our room for a good night's rest. Our beds were like sleeping on clouds in comfort, our room was clean and quiet for a great night's rest. Our breakfast of eggs, bacon, waffles, biscuits, bagels, coffee, hot chocolate or nearly anything you wanted awaited our arrival. We ate, checked out and were on our happy full tummy and well rested way. Thanks Best Western!
Really impressed w/the cleanness and staging of room. Newer furniture and quiet. After initial check in w/Nicholas sporting a fluorescent orange short? out of uniform. I found no help at front desk. Possibly needed help? Someone to wait on customers w/welcome greetings. I look forward to reviewing this particular hotel as I will be staying here on a weekly basis. signing off as a Diamond Select Member. Daniel Perez
This hotel is pet friendly which i loved since I like to travel with my dog. I was here for work and i thought the room was very clean and everything was in working order. The staff was great and I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here in transit from Southern California to the Phoenix area. The hotel is really clean and well maintained. Our room was quiet despite being next to Interstate 10. While we did not use the pool because of the windy weather, we did use the nice fitness center. They serve a fairly standard Best Western complimentary breakfast in a room behind the lobby. I do wish they had more fresh fruit! This is a nice hotel and a good value.
My husband and I stay here almost every year en route to Phoenix from Santa Barbara, CA. The rooms are always clean and fresh, the staff is friendly and the price is the best! Plus, the free breakfast is a bonus!
The room was a cool temperature, BUT it smelled horrible!! I don't know if it was the new paint or furniture or what. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the trim was missing. No plugs around the sink, they were hidden behind a hundred year old stand that held the coffee machine and refrigerator. I know where we wont ve stopping on the way home.
My wife and I stayed here, and were very disappointed that they call this a Best Western. Let alone a business. The cleaning staff don't clean up, and then expect you to tip. We stayed a couple nights, but had to go down for clean towels each morning. Best of all, were treated like crap by the manager when called about a random charge they charged through on my card days after we left. We asked to speak to the manager to get a respectful conversation with explanation as to what the charge was. But all we got was a rude manager who refused to help. Do yourself a favor and don't fall for their price or fake pictures, they'll just charge you for no reason after you leave. Deplorable business.
This hotel is located on the border of AZ & CA. about 3 hrs from Phoenix. It's perfect for those that can't make it all the way to Phoenix. It's unbelievably quiet considering it's next to the hwy. Room are always clean. The halls are a little dusty because of remodeling, but that's expected. I'm sure they will be back to their usual 100% soon.
I would like to start out by saying that my family and I usually stop at Best Westerns during our travels from Las Vegas to Anaheim then to Phoenix Arizona and back to Las Vegas. We have stumbled upon some great hotels and some not so great hotels. We checked trip advisor and google to see the comments that were left for the hotels. Since the Best Western Desert Oasis is a halfway stop from Anaheim to Phoenix we decided to book a room and see how it turned out. Well I would like to give a great Big THANK YOU to the entire staff working there. From the Assistant manager Beatrice to the front desk manager Christina and even the General manager Nicholas who we got the pleasure too speaking with during the manager reception which is a great idea they started at the hotel. Nicholas gave us great help with directions and just a pleasant young man to talk with. Then the housekeeping staff who cleaned our room perfectly and to our expectations. We will say that it is under a lot of renovations that are not completed but what they have done with the bathrooms is excellent. I can not wait to see this hotel again next year when we do our family trip again. I don't know about these other reviews and what happened with there stay but I do know Nicholas and his staff are very professional and are great with customers. Thanks again Best Western Desert Oasis....
We arrived at 2:30a.m.on a technically Friday night. There was hair and boogers in our shower, so no showering Sat morning. There were no sheets changed in one of our beds for the 7 nights we were there. They didn't vacuum or wipe down furniture or sink. My mother in law broke a bracelet on our bathroom floor and the beads remained there until I picked them up. There are homeless behind the hotel and since they are going through renovations there is no security as the side doors were always open. Not unlocked but opened. The GM Nicholas Sorice was notified of our issues and I requested compensation for the fact we couldn't shower Sat morning because of the condition of the shower all he did was make excuses and became very very rude to me to the point that I started to record our conversation to share with corporate. Knowing it was in fact legal in AZ. The one party consent law. Mr. Sorice started to threaten to sue me for recording our conversation and telling me he knew the law and he had been a GM for 21 years. There was absolutely no hospitality in a hospitality recognized business. $32.00 compensation was all I wanted and an apology. This did not happen at any point during our stay after I gave three chances to the GM to make things right. On top of all this, the motel is next to a very large, very busy truck stop. There was also a foul odor of some sort like it was close to a dump. I realize they were under renovations but they would leave garbage next to the pool and carpet out front. I was floored by our treatment at this Best Western. I am a rewards club member so I don't have a problem with the chain. I contacted the franchise that owned the property and it took over a week for me to finally get compensated two nights stay for 11 nights paid for. All I wanted was an apology that never happened from the GM. All the other employees were very nice and helpful. I also wanted to mention that I asked to take a picture of a nice clean room for this review but Nicholas Sorice the GM refused my request. I was trying to show a nice clean room as opposed to our room that was improperly cleaned for 7 days. Also mysteriously our key cards wouldnt work every evening after a day out from being away from the hotel. Breakfast was good and the lady who ran it was wonderful. Rooms were actually comfortable just not cleaned. I would highly recommend staying in Blythe just down the highway. If a GM has no customer service abilities and very obviously didn't care about our comfort or opinions then it is better to go somewhere that would listen and care about your concerns. My 17 year old daughter wrote to the GM to educate him about the law, FYI. I still cant believe this happened to us. I cant stress enough to avoid the stress and stay somewhere else. People make the property what it is and this property fell very short.
Well...To start out, I want to say we have stayed here about 7 or 8 times. It is the best hotel in the area for the price. Having said that, I want to say that this time we had issues with our reservation that we made through Expedia. After driving 4 hours from Los Angeles in 116 degree heat, and our truck overheating on the way, we arrived to find out that the "pet friendly" room we thought we booked was not the room the hotel had for us. Needless to say, I was hot, tired and not to happy to hear that! In fact, I was rather unpleasant and surly toward Kelly the desk clerk (Sorry Kelly). However, she very professionally and patiently walked me through the process of contacting Expedia and cancelling the reservation. She then re-booked the room through the Best Western site. In the end, I got the room for $1 cheaper than through Expedia! You saved our vacation Kelly. Yenia, the other reviewer was partially correct. The Hotel was doing a long over due remodel. However it was not any inconvenience for us and I did not notice any bad odors as she stated. The room was clean, the breakfast good and the entire staff including the housekeepers were courteous. Thank you Kelly for all your help and kindness!
DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. If I could leave zero stars I would. The hotel "manager" was rude and condescending. The hotel itself was a disaster. I understand that it was undergoing renovations but the floors were a mess, everything smelled and the chairs were painted so my pants got stained. I waited 2 hours to check in and once I saw the horrible conditions of the room I told the manager I wanted to cancel my reservation and go home (keep in mind this was 3 minutes after we checked in). The manager rudely declined and said there was NOTHING she could do about it. Someone kindly said he would take the room and would want to exchange it for himself and again she rudely declined. I will NOT be coming back. BEWARE.
This was our overnight from San Francisco Bay Area to our Sierra Vista, AZ endpoint! What a fine choice! Clean, quiet and well-appointed. There's a Wendy's next door and their salads on a day with temps that hit 105 are as always, refreshing. There is a fenced in area for dogs, which was well thought out. But back to the hotel, bed was comfy, shower clean and drained well, and lighting was adequate (some hotels are so dark). Staff was wonderful and polite. Can't think of anything negative (except the 105 heat). Great stay and I will come back when this way again. Very satisfied!
Clean rooms. The breakfast was very good. food was hot and the place was kept clean. The young lady running the breakfast was very nice and polite and kept the place running smoothly. I would stay here again just on how nice and polite the staff where.
My only complaint was they had the television volume locked You could only turn it up a certain amount. The problem was with the AC on you could not hear the TV. Also there was a cart of trash right outside the door that led to the pool. When you stepped outside to go to the pool it smelled like a landfill.
Very nice hotel, as they are updating the facility. Breakfast and staff were wonderful. Although we were on the 1st floor, there are not many elevators to the 2nd floor, only stairs. Down side is not many choices for restaurants in the area other than fast food.
Really nice clean and comfortable room! Not many food options around, so I just walked over to Wendys for dinner across the parking lot. Direct T.V. is really nice for me cause I have it at home so its familiar and has Free Speech T.V. so I could enjoy Stephie Miller in the morning! Just like home! Good breakfast. Cheese omelette thing had American cheese so I had to scoop it out, but after that it was good. And the rest including crispy bacon was really good. Nothing wrong at all here, and this was the most reasonable rate of all our 8 Hotel stays on our trip. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
I used this place as central location to explore Sonoran Desert area including Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. The room I had was large, clean, and included a fridge, microwave, desk etc and two large beds. WiFi is free. The pool was great in the early evening to cool off after along hot day exploring. The included breakfast at this hotel is really generous - eggs, bacon or ham, cereal, toast, bagels, pancakes, yogurt, fruit etc are all available. Staff seemed really nice. The only slight negative worth mentioning is that sometimes I could hear the TV in the next room through the wall, but not loud enough to be a real issue. If you need to go shopping there is a store in Ehrenberg on the other side of the freeway, and a Dollar store in Quartzite 15 minutes down the freeway.
Broke our journey from Tucson to Ventura at this hotel & wish we had booked 2 nights! Welcoming reception and the room was clean and comfortable. A very good sleep followed by a full and varied breakfast. Would certainly stay here again if we return to this area.
Very clean ,well located easy access , friendly staff ,nice clean rooms, Will stay again and again. Highly recommend if your traveling the area . I always try and stay in Best western Hotels. Thanks You
If you are traveling LA<->PHX, and need a place to break overnight, this is it. Clean room, kind staff. Breakfast was good - tasty cheese omelet, bacon, pancakes. The fitness center was pretty good, but needs a pull-up bar.
Manager Beatrice refused to reimburse me a $50 pet cleaning fee when I discovered it on my bank statement 3 days later. I do not have a pet. She said she should have charged me $100 when I call her about it.. She is running a scam at this motel! I called customer service & they sided with the manager. Best western customer service is worthless! Do not risk your bank account staying at this Best Western motel in Ehrenberg, Arizona!
This motel is clean, utilitarian and not good value in hindsight now that I have tried others in their price range. The front desk argued with me about the fee for my dog which I had called the front desk about prior to making the reservation online the previous week. But I guess the front desk is always right whomever you speak to there. Of course the room smelled of smoke, but the cleaner was very helpful and sprayed the room and helped open the window to get some fresh air in the room. I'd drive on to Phoenix or use another hotel chain next time.
Wow, what a nice property! This hotel is very clean inside and out. The parking area has cement and is very clean and attractive. Our king room was clean and spacious with a sofa and very nice furnishings. The gal that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The mattress was high quality and very comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection too. We would certainly return the next time we are in the area.
We had to stop here on the drive to LA when weather set in. We were surprised that the hotel was so nice when it was basically beside a truck stop. Clean, quiet and nice. Not much opportunity for hotels in this area so this is one to j=keep in mind between Phx and LA.
Not a secure place to take your family. The staff are not there to assist you and your family unfortunately. It's clear to an outsider view that they are unhelpful and combative. Tip: Some of your room items will be broken when you come into the room (be sure you take dated pictures prior like we did to show them in court), then you call to inquire what a ghost charge is on your card, and you get the response “I don't have to tell you what I'm charging you for” followed by the manager of the establishment hanging up on you. It's just the facts of how the staff runs their business model. So just be prepared and you should be fine. Also, 3 days after leaving their establishment, they charged through an additional room charge for $83 for whatever reason.
We always stop here on our drive from Canada to Cabo and back because of the friendly, dependable BW service, comfort, location and convenience of getting on and off the highway. The ongoing attention to the property appearance and maintenance is obvious and makes for a good impression on arrival. The breakfast is a great value and a welcome convenience before we hit the road again. Thanks Oasis!
This hotel is being remolded. But we were still able to walk in just fine. The front desk person was busy, but she was attentive to the customers. There was plenty of parking in front and back. Early in the evening we had noisy neighbors, but then they went to sleep and it was OK. We had a large new TV with lots of channels. A small frig and microwave. The beds were comfortable. Sink was outside of the bathroom. The shower worked well and had good pressure. The room was very clean. The breakfast in the morning was the usual. Waffles, oatmeal, rice chex, eggs, sausages & fresh fruit. I did appreciate that they had soy milk and both regular and greek yogut. The staff made sure no food ran out. The hotel was fully booked. Right next door is a Flying J truck stop and their food items were reasonable, including bottled water. Our room was in the back of the building, we did not hear any truck traffic at all. We would stay here again, because of the reasonable price, clean room and friendly staff.
Based on my experience at other Best Western, and many of the reviews, I was expecting better. It felt like a gussied up 2-star. Internet was above average. No idea what breakfast was like as I arrived at 7pm after an 800 mile drive, crashed out and left the next morning at 5am. It served its purpose: a bed for the night. But I felt it as $10-20 more than it was worth for that.
my Husband and I go on weekend trips. we have stayed in dozens of Hotels, some Cheap, some expensive. This was by far the best hotel with the best service we ever stayed in. Queen beds with 5 pillows each. ,Clean carpet, fridge w freezer! microwave, full tub and shower, exercise room with state of the art stepper, treadmill, cycle.and combination equipment that allll worked. great breakfast, waffles, hard eggs and omelets, rolls, toast, biscuits and gravy. One staff member stayed in the breakfast area to constantly refill food and coffee for guests. and a free bag of ice when we left! The service was amazing, I wish I could transplant that hotel into every town we ever stayed at.
We have been staying at this hotel for years now to attend the gem shows in Quartzite and on our way to the Tucson Gem show and always found our stay to be pleasant and reasonably priced. The room was nice and clean and the beds comfy, but this time it smelled like sewer around the outside periphery and the halls reeked of Lysol or some sort of chemical. There used to be cookies out in the evening and now it's only at a certain time and too bad if you missed out. The coffee left out in the lobby is lukewarm in one of those plastic jug type containers. The lemon drink was tasty though. The breakfast offerings have really gone down hill. The coffee urns that kept coffee nice and hot were replaced by those plastic coffee jugs. The biscuits used to be big and fluffy and instead we were greeted by anemic overcooked hard tiny biscuits and wilted ham that looked like Canadian bacon instead of the sausage. The yogurt was more GMO chemicals than milk product. At least the cereal was labeled made with GMO ingredients as a warning. The tiny muffin and danish didn't even taste like food but some sort of strange starch like texture with sugar. I had to throw it out. It seemed like fake food, oh, and not to mention we had the pleasure of being bombarded with CNN fake news as a perfect accompaniment. Isn't this Arizona, why are we hearing fake news?? I did notice an attendant who watched over the breakfast room and greeted you as you left. Nice thought but it doesn't make up for a bad breakfast. The jacuzzi didn't work again. I think it has worked twice since we have been going to this hotel. I heard they might just fill it in. I have to say the exercise room is enclosed and air conditioned now with water, towels, tv and decent equipment for a Best Western. I didn't use it this time but I did on our previous stay. I will probably stay here again because it is convenient, quiet and I am not a big fan of Blythe. Since last year I have noticed a general slow decline in all the Best Westerns we have stayed in on our travels. What's going on??
As Best Western Rewards members we always try to stay at a BW while traveling and this location served as an excellent choice while down in the area for the annual rock show at Quartzite, AZ. Super convenient location, excellent breakfast, quiet rooms with very comfortable beds.
Impressed with this Best Western! Exceptionally clean, nice breakfast and very friendly front desk. A very nice room - comparable to much more expensive hotels. Great bed with lots of pillows. Very nice variety for breakfast - including soy milk (yeah!) for people who can't do regular milk. An exceptional value for the money. Great!
This was a good stopping point for us between LA and Sedona. It is at a truck stop, but it was fairly clean. The only reason I qualify that is because I noticed a spot of black mold in the shower grout. There is no elevator, so if you aren't good with stairs be sure to request the 1st floor. The breakfast was good with a waffle station. The service was fine, although it took a long time to find someone to help us check in. There was another worker in the lobby waiting for her ride home after her shift and she had to go find the person actually working to help. I would only consider staying again if it was really cheap.
We stayed only 1 night, but found the accommodations to exceed our expectations for the price we paid. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and felt safe, shower was hot, complementary breakfast offered a variety of options, and the fitness center provided a solid workout. The staff was courteous and friendly. Thank you!
After reading several reviews from dissatisfied customers, we were not sure what to expect. The hotel rooms were nice and the beds were comfy, we had no complaints. We had a nice stay and I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend this hotel to others as well.
We found this hotel to be very clean and quiet with ample parking. We traveled with a disabled person and they were accommodating in meeting our needs. The staff was polite and professional. We would be pleased to stay there again.
A very nice hotel with only a truck stop nearby, we had to drive to Blythe for everything. Although Ehrenberg did have the better gas prices. If you do find yourself in Blythe, do try the A&R Bakery Deli. Great sandwiches. Also, if you enjoy wildlife viewing, this is close to Cibola Natl Refuge.
We had a nice quiet room that is huge clean and tidy. The staff are friendly polite and helpful. We've stayed at a lot of Best Westerns and this location will definitely be on out to stay list again. We were close to several activities. Our favorite was Buck Owens Crystal Palace. Stampede, the band really rocked out some hot'diggity Western tunes. Even though we were arriving back to Best Western late in the evening, we were not concerned as the parking lot is well lit!
The Hotel had no water during our stay. This was a planned outage and we were not notified in advance. We were not offered a adjustment by the hotel staff. It's very hard to sleep when you know you can't use the toilet or take a shower in the morning.
Super little economical deluxe spot just west of Quartzsite. A very clean room and caring staff. The breakfast services were excellent and left nothing to be desired. Will stay there again in a heatbeat.
Clean and well appointed accommodations, pleasant staff, quiet and a good night sleep. I would rate the value to cost as excellent. Breakfast was prepared on time and was furnished with enough choices to satisfy most appetites. The warm cookies at check in provide a welcoming experience.
The desert oasis Best Western is a great value for money spent. The rooms are clean and neat, the staff are friendly and always helpful , the overall experience has been great. We stay here on a weekly basis and have never encountered an issue..
A very nice hotel with all the amenities without a break the bank price. Nice clean rooms and an excellent breakfast served. All of the staff I had contact with were friendly and helpful.I try to be close to this hotel when I am ready to stop for the night. The closeness to the Colorado River is also a big plus
My husband and I are on a road trip to Tucson, Arizona. We always stay at Best Western since they are one of the most "pet friendly" chains. I made a mistake (and I own that mistake) on booking my reservation on the internet. End result, I was charged for two nights at the Desert Oasis. One night was an error on my part and the second night we actually stayed at the Desert Oasis. Totally understand that the hotel is not under any obligation to accommodate or provide relief for my error. What I do think is that the hotel can respond in a customer service friendly manner when discussing the situation with me. Mr, Sorice was, in my opinion, rude and dismissive. There isn't a lot of incentive to treat customers well who are traveling through the area. And, as consumers, we don't have any leverage other than to offer our feedback as consumers. My feedback is that the customer service provided by Mr. Sorice was disappointing and perhaps that behavior and style represent the hotel management and owner. We will be traveling through this area again and will definitely not stay at this hotel.
My elderly father came into the Ehrenburg AZ BW Hotel with a back injury and unable to complete the journey to Tucson. I can not begin to thank the staff for their "above the call of duty" help. They helped him physically get to his room and in/out of the vehicle. They offered late checkout, extra towels/pillows, etc., and the woman at the front desk even brought him homemade cookies when he had to stay an extra day. Simply amazing!
Stopped here for the night on our trip to California. Check in was quick and easy. Room was basic, nothing overly exciting. Wanted to jump into the hot tub after a long drive just to find it broken. Got up a little late and went to get some breakfast, it was 5 minutes till closing and found the room locked. Knocked on the door and hostess answered, she said "we're closed" and shut the door in my face. If you need a overnight stop and not expecting much I suppose this place is ok.
We travel back and forth from the Bay Area to Tucson frequently and usually stay at the BW in Blythe. I took a chance this time due to BW points usage and stayed at the Desert Oasis...NEVER AGAIN!!! We stayed one night and the morning we were leaving I tried to get in the breakfast room for coffee and juice, I did not want any food. Even though it was only 9:01 the door was locked. A fellow guest saw me and opened the door. The minute I walked in a staff person practically body blocked me and very loudly told me that “breakfast is closed”. I explained that all I wanted was coffee and juice both of which were still on the counter along with all the other food that had not been put away yet. She again practically yelled at me that “breakfast is closed!!” If this is the kind of “guest service” that the Desert Oasis thinks is appropriate I feel sorry for the people that stay here. I for one will never stay again!
wouldnt let us check in 1/2 hour early!!! Not one room ready??? Ice cold eggs at breakfast; broken hot tub, staff completely oblivious to customer service. A very non-caring attitude, and no where to eat for miles around,
Nice modern hotel, rooms very comfortable. Carpets, artwork looked new and well kept. Refrigerator had a small icebox which accommodated my ice bags. Nice lighting throughout.Breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Lots of great food choices.
We were glad to have found a BW in this small town. Unfortunately, it needs remodeling. I was okay for one night. Included hot breakfast food. The typical continental breakfast but included hot biscuits and gravy. It's nice to have cereals/yogurt and fresh fruit also included.
I was in town for work. The hotel has all the amenities I needed. I really appreciated the work space, internet and accessible electric outlets. I was in town for work. The hotel has all the amenities I needed. I especially like the work area, internet and accessible electric outlets.
We needed a place to stay overnight while traveling from LA to Sedona and this hotel was in a good location to do so. Room was clean and breakfast good. The hotel is situated right off I10 and restaurants are close by across the AZ/CA border in Blythe.
Noise insulation between rooms is worse than usual. The staff did call and successfully have the people next door quieten down for the evening. Apparently they were only preparing for a 4am wake up experience. We were awakened as well.
Historically I had used motel 6 due to uniformed expectations, however I never really felt safe but used them anyway as my stay overs were short. At BW I felt safe and found that BW is far better in every aspect and greater value for services offered. I will be looking for BW during my future trips.
This is our first stay but we do Arizona to California often. This is our new MUST STOP AND STAY for every trip. The room was huge and comfortable. The decor hotel beautiful. And the breakfast was opulent and delicious thanks to Christina!!!!! Could not thank Christina enough for the delicious and CLEAN breakfast experience. I'll be dreaming of the waffles until we come back! Thanks to all the staff, we had a wonderful stay and we will be back often and soon!
A pleasant hotel if you are traveling through the area; a step above the ones in Blythe. Fitness center very good for a hotel of this size and price range. Room was comfortable and breakfast, although not a lot of selection, was a plus. I would stay there again.
The hotel and staff are excellent! I wasn't expecting much since the hotel is barely over the border into Arizona, but boy was I surprised. The food provided was good and fitness center was good as well. Will definitely come back again.
This hotel is very clean, great rooms, has fridge, microwave, blow dryer and iron. The linens are really nice and clean. These are indoor rooms which makes you feel safe inside. Great breakfast, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, orange juice, coffee, other beverages. I haven't stayed at a hotel this nice in a while. The price is good for all it offers. I would recommend it to family and friends.
This hotel was, over all, clean, quiet and comfortable. ALL the staff were friendly, hospitable and professional. The breakfast was simple and had a fair variety of hot and cold food that would meet the essential need for most people I think. Value was good!
Stay here if you like the smell of sewage in the hallway, and your room all night. The hotel is right next door to a sewage treatment. I also had friends stay here, and the air conditioner would come on and off all night long, the room would not get below 79 degrees. Also watch out for rooms that say pet friendly, even though you dont have a pet, if you get a room that says pet friendly, they will charge you for a pet, even though you did not mark down any pets, and even inform the manager I did not have a pet, they will still charge you.
Need to fix the air conditioning problem! Especially for being in a desert location. The staff was very polite in advising nothing could be done to correct the problem. Had I known that the air conditioners in the rooms were working poorly I would have sought other accommodations. A small unreadable sign at the check-in counter explaining the problem that 95% of customers would not notice,or those booking on line would never see is a good way to mislead customers. People need to now this before booking!
Hotel looked clean and staff was more than professional and nice. Room was very comfortable and AC worked very good. Room was also very quiet. The only problem was the hallways smelled like sewage. I will go back.
The accommodation at this hotel was very welcoming. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the rooms were satisfying. We got some good sleep. After being on the road all day this was the place to stop and relax by the nice clean pool.
The staff was very friendly and made sue are needs were met. This place is awesome if you have dogs. Very welcoming and warm hearted staff. Will definitely be visiting this place again. Very close to the best place to swim on the Colorado river in Blythe California.
We always stay at this hotel on our way to California and then on our way home. They always make us feel like a part of their family. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff was awesome, and you couldn't ask for a better breakfast to get you started for your road trip!
This hotel was one of the best values we've ever had. We stopped here passing through on our way back home. The room and bathrooms were both very clean. The family got a good nights rest on comfortable beds. We actually did not stick around for breakfast as we were eager to get back on the road but it was a very nice stay.
If you're tired and hot and need to stop this works. Wasn't too attracted to the sewage smell in the hallways and blowing around near the pool. Hot tub wasn't working- and was... not clean to say it nicely. Rooms need updated. The bathroom looked like a prison bathroom. But for what we paid not too bad.
great Midway trip stop. Everytime we vacation and visit family in Tucson, this best western location is our go to, we are treated well and thats what brings us back, not to mention this location is pet friendly too
This was a really nice hotel. Because it was so close to the highway, there wasn't a cosy ambiance but for us it was a great stop during our round trip. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and the room was big. Also the breakfast was really good and there was enough available left around 8.30.
Had an awesome experience. Service was great. Rooms had great air conditioner units and the free breakfast was a good treat. Location also supplied a free 10 lb bag of ice. Check in was simple and fast. Parking was easy and close to the structure.
We stopped here once before. We liked it then and still were pleased. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and properly stocked. I enjoyed the refrigerator this time, as it had a freezer. we were able to keep our freezer packs cold, for our cooler. The rooms are spacious. Our Service dog had plenty of room to stretch out in.
This room was booked because of the extreme heat, 112 degrees outside; and needed a comfortable, cool room. I appreciated the air conditioning already turned on in my room! The room was very comfortable, bed included, and had a desk and chair; along with an easy chair and ottoman. There was also a ceiling fan which added to the comfort. Breakfast was very good with real bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage and gravy, pastries, fresh fruit, along with other normal cold items. Within walking distance is a Flying J truck stop, which includes a Wendy's restaurant.
The hotel was at a very convenient location in Ehrenberg Arizona. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and all f the amenities were in good working order. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights rest while lodging at this location.
already stated problems 3 times. Entire hotel had an order problem. Took 20 min. for desk clerk to show. we were already walking out. Breakfast was poorly stocked had to wait for things to be refilled.Over all not professional.
Good place to stop for the night, large, clean room. Property is well maintained and the staff is super. It's a half way point between Los Angeles and Phoenix, AZ. Breakfast was usual fair but good. Had a minor problem with noise above me but it was handled right away and corrected.
Nice place and nice people. The location is good and we like to give the business to AZ businesses. We will stay here again. Clean and quiet and right on I-10 for easy travel on to wherever you are headed.
This hotel is located next to I-10 easy access in and out to the freeway rooms are nice big and very clean. Breakfast was ok lots fresh fruits, breads, yogurts coffe and juices. I recommend this hotel....
The room smelled real bad . Old , stale and disappointing. The A/C unit sounded like it was going to leave the building . Not like my experiences here in the past . Think I'll stay elsewhere next time .
I am a Best Western rewards member, so I stay at Best Westerns whenever possible. I had work in the area, so I was pleased to find this hotel close by. They were in the process of renovations, so there was some construction debris and dust outside, but the lobby and room were clean. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive to my needs. The room was modern and clean. Shower was okay. Bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The breakfast was great. Many choices and all fresh and well prepared. Overall I was very happy with my stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel if you're in the area.
We had driven from Pomona, CA on a very hot day and this did feel like an oasis. We had planned to continue on to Tucson and found this hotel on TripAdvisor and decided to stop early and were glad we did. Check-in was a breeze and we were each given a chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven. Yummy. The room was clean and comfortable and we got an excellent night's sleep. There was a well-equipped exercise room which is nice after sitting in the car so long. The breakfast was very good.
This place is very nice, I've been stopping here for 4 years now. In that time they have remodeled the entire place. Still in progress but worth it. Cheaper than staying in California. Flying J next door
The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Air conditioner didn't work. Breakfast was cold and English muffins and biscuits were hard and couldn't be eaten. I wastill told if I provided an email address I'd receive a $10 discount on my room. I had to have the bill fixed when I checked out because discount wasn't applied to my bill.
It's a good hotel, they're doing more remodeling so it's going to be even better, definitely enjoying the $10 back gift card for every stay.. Hotel is overall satisfying, I liked the gym which is one big part for me when I stay at a hotel, they have pretty much everything that you would need for the stay, from pool, breakfast, ect. Thanks best western
We were very, very surprised at how nice this Hotel was!! The room was super clean and updated. The morning breakfast was more than we would have imagined, since it's out in the middle of nowhere. They served anything you could have wanted, from fresh fruit, to hot homemade waffles. We defiantly will be staying here on our next trip to Arizona.
This Hotel is excellent for it is located near the California/Arizona border with easy access to good dining facilities in both states. It has a good workout facility and excellent breakfast. The rooms are clean, noise proof with large sleeping areas.
Always have a good experience at BW. Even the older buildings are better than other motels in the same $ range in my opinion. Rewards program works with CLC too, and easy to check your points online. Give them a try.
This is the property where we stay when we're heading to Arizona from Northern California. It's a great point to stay and is convenient from the highway. The property is very clean. Not a lot of places nearby to eat, but you're close enough to find dining a short drive away.
fine in many ways - newish, clean - but the design of having sink/vanity in the room (so your partner TV watcher sitting on the bed can criticize your teeth-flossing style) is BAD. And then to go into the tiny shower/ commode "closet" - you need sunglasses because the light is so bright - and you also need earplugs because the fan is so LOUD. And...NO night light - so if you want a crack of light during the night - you have to listen to the fan! A plus - a window that opens! My pet peeve - that conventional hotel reviews don't mention details of 1. a window that opens and 2. sink IN the room -
Clean, clean and clean...this place was perfect. We needed a one night stay on our way to Tucson from LA. We got there late, woke up had breakfast and left. We were impressed with the cleanliness inside and out. Great value! We would definitely stop again.
This hotel is much nicer than it looks like outside. My only suggestion would be to get longer pillows. Breakfast was a typical hotel spread. But a very clean place. I will definitely stay again on my way to CA.
This is our second time here. There is plenty of parking even for large vehicles, the temperature was over 100 degrees so we quickly entered the lobby. Check in was friendly, prompt & quick. We asked for & received a quiet room on the second floor in the rear of the building. The room was large with a micro wave, small refrigerator & large wall mounted TV. Everything including the bathroom was very clean. We ate our take out meal from the Rebel BBQ Restaurant. (Not recommended, see our review) and we slept on a very comfortable mattress. We asked the manager the next morning and found out it was a Sealy mattress. Breakfast was very good, eggs, sausage, hash brown potatoes, juices, cold cereal, biscuits & gravy, etc. I did not like the coffee, but I admit to being a coffee snob. The air conditioner was very quiet & kept the room comfortable. Checkout was as smooth as check in & we consider it a great value for the price, and we highly recommend stopping here. Tips: If you are a light sleeper, ask for a quiet room in the rear of the building. The motel is adjacent to a Flying J truck stop with heavy large and noisy vehicles. We did not hear any noise inside the building. If you are driving to or from California, gas up in Arizona. The price was on average 45 cent a gallon cheaper for premium. We used to gas up at the Flying J, but prefer gas with the Top Tier spec. We found a 76 gas station close by using the GasBuddy app on our iPad.
From the minute we walked in till we left everyone was very nice and accommodating. Rooms were nice, big,Clean, comfy beds, and clean carpets! The pool and hot tub were crystal clean and clear. Will go again!!!
This is a convenient and easy stop when you are traveling across Arizona and California. Not much to do in the area, but the rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed some time in the jacuzzi although the jets weren't working; at least it was warm. Breakfast was nice with plenty of food.
This is an excellent Hotel with at an affordable rate. It is near the Arizona/California border. I would recommend this stop if you have been traveling on I-10 for a long period of time. There are fast food restaurants, travel stores, and gas stations on and near the facility with easy on and off access.
This hotel was a perfect location for the Jet boat Regatta we went to. The Breakfast looked good, but we just never made it in time to eat there. The pool and jacuzzi was nice and clean. I loved that we had HBO movies at night. The room also comes with a fridge and microwave. There was also plenty of room for our truck and boat.
We have been staying in this best western for last 10 years (summers) now. This is my favorite place, my kids love it and they are pet friendly so even my 4 legged kid loves it! (Thats important cause she is part of the family) The staff is always friendly and helpful and very respectful. The rooms are big and clean, the AC is very cold which is great coming from spending all day at the river, plenty of parking (even with my trailer attached). The bfast is one of the best I have tasted for a "free continental bfast" (compared to other continental bfasts) and you have to try the biscuits and gravy! The only issue I have is that the pool is out of service at times, which kjnda ruins the night, the hot tub is usually always out of service as well...... But since we are there to enjoy the river, it only bothers us a little. The kids love going across the parking lot to buy junk food and fast food at wendys, we never had any "criminal issues" while staying there and the gas to fill up your water toys is always cheap! Compared to other motels/hotels in the area, I give this place a 8 out if 10 (and that is because of the pool/hit tub issues) Over all a great place to build great family memories, we will definitely keep returning to this place hopefully for many years! Bestwestern also gives out gift card for spending nights with them so that also a great pluses ....
We were traveling to Arizona and got a very late start. I called to confirm our arrival. We did not pull in until after 5am and someone was there to check us in. In most small motels like this, attendants have to be woken up for late service. It was a pleasure to have someone awake, aware and ready to check us in. And they even took the time to pre-cool our room!
Pretty nice motel just across the border into AZ, from CA. Well maintained and comfortable. Helpful staff and so-so breakfast. Better the a lot of others. Front desk staff helpful and decent size room with large flat-scree and HD...pete
When I travel and need to make an unplanned stop, I prefer to look for Best Western properties because they tend to be consistent. While I have no expectations going to a new property, this one surprised me. It was very clean, the decor was nice, and it was VERY QUIET! Being right off of a major highway, I expected some noise, but couldn't hear a thing. Had a great night's sleep.
The staff here was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a great value, too, since I had just come from California where everything was very expensive. This town was right on the border of Arizona and California, so definitely saved some money by crossing over into Arizona! The breakfast was good, but the breakfast room was very hot. Not sure if they were just having problems with the AC that day, but the lady working in there was so sweet that she made up for it and I could deal with the heat for the short time I was in there. I would definitely stay here again.
The service was not overwhelming... but the room was ok for a one night stay. Breakfast room was a little too small and warm. The pool was ok, apart from all the drowned bees. The room was clean and the beds fine. Rest room lacked paper, first time I have experienced that.
We were very excited to stay as the outside looked really good. The room was big and ok. Some things that turned me off. I felt like every time I was walking I was disturbing the people below us the floor echoed so loud. The shower could use a major remodel! Hardly any water pressure and the tub it self looked old. There is no cold water in the sink at all. Makes for brushing your teeth in hot water fun! Something really bothered me. We went to go swimming in the outdoor pool in the late evening. The entire pool was covered with dead bees in and around it and live ones all over the place. My son is highly allergic to bees so this was a huge disappointment. Although I understand you can't control nature but there obviously things you can do. Such as making sure the garbage cans around the property are emptied in a timely manner. EVERY single garbage can outside on the property was overflowing with garbage. So in 110 degree weather you can imagine it doesn't smell very nice and helps attract all the bees. I went to the front desk to ask for a net for the pool. The girl at the counter was less than pleased to help. However she did locate one and my daughter went in the pool with the net and scooped out all the dead bees so my son didn't have to miss out on swimming. The bed in the room was low and worn it sagged in the middle. For $80 you need to do better!
We travel back and forth from the central coast to SE Arizona a lot and this place is our half way mark they have everything we need right there and the rooms are clean and updated do ask for one on the back side of your a light sleeper but you can't beat it for the price
A basic Best Western. Water pressure so poor that water from shower head fell vertically a bit like a weedy tap/faucet...difficult to wash under! Tap was held on with white silicone & wobbled. 4 tiny pillows...I constantly felt I was falling off my pillow! Room furniture was coming apart. Noisy night with disturbance from herd of elephants above us. Was surprised to be able to hear conversation & tv from next room. Room fridge was very noisy through night!!! Chambermaid/room attendant woke me at 7:50hrs, Sat morning as she knocked up/checked rooms were empty....bit early don't you think!!!! Her envelope request for payment was left with nothing from me!!! Breakfast was un-appetising and noisy too Wouldn't stay here again.
staff was wonderful. the room seemed to have been recently remodeled and was very clean and sharp. they found and returned to me a left-behind tablet!! in my experience that hasnt always happened. I plan to use this hotel on every trip i make back and forth to california
The photos might be lying as the hotel is in the middle of a parking lot/service area near the freeway entrance. The hotel is suitable for one night stays, but nothing more. The room was of normal motel standard, with a very noisy air conditioner. Strange odor in the hallways. Limited breakfast.
Basic room, quiet, ok bed, a few miles from the more congested Blythe,Internet worked ok. Broken jacuzzi and no long distance calls from room were not fun. Staff did not appear concerned about these issues.
Great, comfortable hotel with pool and free breakfast! Spa was out of order. Good exercise room. Impressed with the upgrades Best Western brand has made in recent years. Toddler was happy so everyone is happy :) Terrific room for the price!
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. I had a preconceived notion, based on its remote location. It turned out to be one of the nicer Best Western hotels I've stayed at. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities were very modern. It is also pet friendly. The breakfast was just o.k. There was a good variety of options. Simple food that helped to get us on the road.
Close to the California border, close to Colorado River, near Parker. Great location from 10 Freeway, Great rooms, clean, comfortable. Refrigerator, Microwave, in-room coffee maker, internet, cable television, pool, exercise facility, breakfast - what more could you ask for?
I recently spent one night at this hotel. I chose to pay a little more that I would have had to pay in Blythe because it is a Best Western. However, I had a miserable night due to the noise from I-10 and the nearby Flying J Truck Stop. I was placed in a room that was near a broken security door and close to the exit ramp from the highway. The spa was being repaired. I arrived around 4 pm when there were few people at the hotel, but they still would not move me to the other side of the motel. The manager has since explained the hotel is being remodeled. I would suggest that you request a room facing away from the highway and the Flying J. The Flying J is the only business close by and it has only fast food options. The hotel breakfast is quite good. All and all, it was not worth the extra cost and I am disappointed that the staff was not more accommodating.
i, and my family, have stayed at different hotels in the area. the quality is very good, and the price is lower than the other hotels. i have COPD, and thankfully there was not an abundance of deodorant perfumes in the room, as some other hotels do. the reservation was easy, i requested a handicap room. there were no handicapped rooms, but they saved a 1st floor room for me.
A conveniently located hotel but unfortunately closer to a truck stop than the Colorado River. Staff's quite accommodating and the room & rate are exceptional. They also serve a full breakfast, which is surprising given how close it is to Wendy's and all these fast-food places in nearby Blythe.
Surprised at the quality of the motel for the price. Nice, clean, comfortable rooms, pleasant staff. Only drawback was all the construction going on. Great value for a the money, we'd recommend this property to anyone...
This hotel is clearly in the middle of nowhere, but what a nice little bubble out of reality. Scrupulously clean, worry- and stress-free and a terrific bed. If you want to eat out, leave before sunset; there is not street lighting away from the hotel, and there is a rotary (roundabout) that may get you lost and confused. You'll still have a Wendy's, a truck-stop, and pizza delivery to choose from, though.
This is a great hotel considering it's location. The room was very clean and comfortable. The front counter staff was very kind and helpful. The internet was very slow. Breakfast had all the items you would expect.
After a poor experience at another hotel, had an excellent experience here. Rooms VERY clean, comfortable beds, great customer service, breakfast offerings pretty good, lots of roomy parking, room climate control excellent.
Ehrenberg is a pit-stop stay for many rock hounds like myself who are visiting the Quartzsite mineral show. The Best Western Desert Oasis is a clean and quiet motel that is conveniently located right off the I-10. There is a mini-fridge and microwave, the bed was comfy, staff was pleasant, nice pool, and coffee in the lobby was quite good. Overall, this is a clean, no-frills joint with reasonable rates; I give this place a solid B rating.
Great Stay ,highly recommend. I love Best Western hotels. Great Staff ,clean and comfortable hotel. Nice and Quite. Will stay again and again. Thank You for a Pleasant experience. Bed was very comfortable room was very clean bathroom was nice the whole hotel was kept up and clean.
Not so great. I've seen worse. It was below part. Right off the freeway, not many options of places around. Hotel staff was useless. The amenities were few, and not even offered. It wasn't filthy or old, but I've come to expect more from a BW.
I travel a lot around Az. My expectation is clean, comfy and professional. This property had those things. They were in the middle of renovating but that didn't interfere with my stay. Plenty of outlets for computer, phones, tablet etc. Breakfast had something for everyone. Nicely presented. A Good stay and close to frwy.
We met our family there for a little reunion so we could enjoy the river and go to Quartzsite, AZ as well. We had a very nice stay at the hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was nice. The breakfast room was nice and we had a good breakfast with lots of choices and a woman who kept things stocked up. We all had a good stay and I will stay there again.
This is the best for the money. Close to cheap gas. They host you like you are a king while you stay with them. They are kind and friendly. They give you the benefit of the doubt. They are constantly improving and remodeling to make it nice and fresh. The doors should be more secure on the outside entrance but it's probably because there were painters and re modelers. The work out room is all brand new with very expensive work out equipment. It shows they think of every little detail. If I could change something about this place it would be to run their free breakfast just an hour later. This place is clean, responsible, friendly, right priced and just wonderful. I also wished the pool was heated during the winter months it was ice cold and the Jacuzzi was drained. If you stay near the exit doors you will hear freeway traffic. Stay towards the inner hall way on the back side and your room will be quieter.
My wife and I decided to stay here for one night on our way home to Arizona from our California trip. I decided to stay here because of the place being quiet and away from the hustle of Blythe area. We got here around midnight. Check in staff was very helpful and friendly. I rated it average because the view was the parking lot. Also, heater was very loud and annoying so I turned it off and we just bundled up. The bathroom needs to be cleaned more and upon entering the room, it has a little musty smell but after turning on the AC, it was fine. I would recommend this place only as an overnight stay if you are tired of driving.
We intended to stay a night or two, but ended up staying for a week. We were just over the border of CA and AZ, so we traveled from state to state on several occasions. Our hotel, Best Western Desert Oasis, was our little oasis during trying times. There was, thankfully, a Flying J and a Wendy's next door for snacks and burgers. We enjoyed the Red Cactus, Steaks and Cakes, and Rebel BBQ in Blythe, CA and "Sweet" Darline's Bakery and Restaurant in Quartzsite, AZ. We were right off the interstate, but the road and truck noise were minimal in our room and we had no trouble sleeping. Yes, our little desert oasis in Ehrenberg, AZ---a stopping place along the way back home to Colorado.
If I had specifically picked this place because of the pool for my kids, I would have been disappointed because it was closed. But I didn't. The hotel seems nice from the outside, but it looked a little low-end in the rooms. Not bad, but not really worth the price. They get you because it is in the middle of nowhere.
I stayed here once or twice last year and had a pleasant experience. In fact I just recommended this place to a coworker. Who in the world decided it was a good idea to perfume the rooms should be FIRED. It smells like they dumped an inch of carpet fresh on the floor. Almost impossible to sleep with this horrid smell.
Large, clean and well lighted rooms. Excellent breakfast with attendant constantly cleaning and keeping things fresh. Easy parking and easy on/off interstate. Stayed at other places on this trip that cost more and offered less.
Unexpected stay for one night before driving home. Entered the room to a nice citrus smell, and clean look. Spacious bathroom that's clean and modern. Modern dark wookd furniture with great sized bed and digital A/C. Mini fridge and microwave and 40" flat screen tv with HBO and DirectTv. I'd for sure stay here again.
The Desert Oasis, Ehrenberg, Arizona is the best hotel to stay at if you are visiting or selling at the Quartzsite Gem and Mineral Shows. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is helpful. Book early or you will not get a room.
Reasonable place to stay; rooms are a bit small but well furnished and updated. Bathrooms could use some updating - the towels could be a little nicer/newer. Air-conditioner wasn't the best. Breakfast was decent - I wish they would not lock up the dining room after breakfast was over - its nice to have access if you want to get out of the room and eat a snack or watch some TV. The free WiFi was outstanding - the fastest most reliable WiFi I've ever used in a hotel! Consider a second floor room - our 3rd night the guests above us were stomping about late into the evening.
worst hotel experience in 30 years. dirty, smelly, broken sink, tv didn't work, beds are older than me, bathtub was dirty, carpet was damp, fan in bathroom is louder than a motorcycle, staff was not friendly, morning staff need a shower and an iron. the only friendly staff member we experienced was the nice girl running breakfast.
true, we stayed in a 'pet' room, BUT, it was beyond acceptable. did we complain? no, not til now, we figured we could stand the smell for two nights...and the second night was a gouge nite, because of some gem show in the area. like to sleep cool. room was cool, (we arrived late). showered, went to bed. next morning wanted chill off room, turned heat up, took dogs out for a walk, came back in, and the whole room was nice warm and overwhelming smell of pee....turned heat back to air conditioning, so when we left with our dogs, our things did not reek of pee smell! i was wondering why the dogs were sniffing all over the place when we got there, evidentially some dogs must've marked, they were not used to that inside. i realize people do not 'care' to take care of someone elses things, but they should be responsible enough to keep their animals with them if they are not housebroken, or leave them without taking them out sometime. the room was by the side door, everytime that someone entered or exited the building it would squeak and that was late hours of the night. i almost went and bought some w-d 40 and fixed myself. why would guests be entering in thru that door after 10 or 11pm at night? shouldn't they enter thru the main entrance? this was our first and last best western experience, sorry to say. the bed was comfortable, however.
The hotel is average. The rooms were fine and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was standard meaning nothing for me as a gluten free/healthy eater. I was surprised at how close the hotel was from the freeway and truck stop but the noise did not penetrate or impact our stay. We did plan to use the pool and were disappointed to find it tiny and freezing cold.
Housekeeping services were really good during my stay. Property manager was friendly and congenial. There is a Wendy's restaurant attached to the Flying J travel stop next door. The Flying J is a convenience store with a small food service in it offering fried chicken and pizza. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was pretty good for truck stop food. Alcohol availability is for beer only, no wine or liquor available. Other standard convenience store fare available at the FLying-J. The Best Western was the most reasonably priced and CLEAN place we encountered while visiting Quartzsite, AZ! 2015.
I liked the BW desert oasis. The front desk helper was very nice. They we're accommodating to our dogs. The open desert behind the hotel was a very nice place to run the dogs. If I were to travel to this area again, I would definitely stay here again!
We use this hotel to bird watch along the Colorado River National Wildlife Refuges. Very convenient with a filling breakfast which starts at VERY early hours! The first time we stayed here many years ago, we worried that the truck stop and I-10 noise would be overwhelming but that is not the case. The rooms are adequately insulated. The only "negative" are the slamming doors along the corridor. The doors are tight fitting and close automatically. They slam if you don't stand right there and slowly let the door close.
We stayed at the hotel for one night as a convenient highway stopover from Phoenix to Palm Springs. At about $90/night, we thought it was a fair value. The rooms are moderately comfortable, though basic. Breakfast is free, but again, very basic. Overall, think of this as a 2-star experience, but given the hotel's convenient location adjacent the interstate gas plaza, it did the job. The hotel was understaffed at night when we arrived, and the rollaway beds they provide are embarrassing — the worst we've ever seen. Still, as long as you don't come in with high expectations, you won't be disappointed.
We have been frustrated with the limited offerings in Quartzite and the high prices in Blythe, so we gave this BW in Ehrenberg a shot. Overall, we were happy with the check-in, rooms, and general condition of the property. Dining options are limited to the truck stop Wendy's unless you want to drive back in to Blythe (about 5 miles). On our particular night the rooms here were a bit cheaper than Quartzite, and a lot cheaper than Blythe. We'll stay at this BW again if we find ourselves in the area.
Updates completed in 2015 are very nice. New carpet in hallways not only looks good, but also smells good. This is at least my 5th stay here as a stop over between San Diego and Phoenix or Kingman, and I have only experienced one minor issue that I resolved myself. The value and safety of staying here, versus jeopardizing your life and property in the gang battleground that Blythe has become, really should be a no brainer.
Use this hotel every time we travel to California or farther west. Since we live in Southern Arizona it is a good place to break the trip home. The facilities are good, clean, quiet and close to the other things travelers need, gasoline, dining, etc. Will continue to use as we travel.
Overall average stay. Exterior lock near room was broken so entry was open to anyone passing by. Traffic noise clearly audible. Front desk staff was business like but not very welcoming. Appeared that they were updating landscaping but process had not been completed. Spa was not in service. They were near a convenience store and gas station which was helpful. Seemed to be geared to interstate truckers rather than leisure travelers.
Good hotel. I have stayed their many times have never had a bad service. Beds and rooms are very comfortable. Breakfasts are decent, if not their is a Wendy's within walking distance. Hotel staff has been real friendly, no major issues.
The photos are very accurate. Very clean and pleasant. Not much in the town for restaurants, but Blythe has some nice places. Very quiet room. Flying J across the parking area has a decent assortment of things. Very annoyed with Trip Advisor rating. I just wanted to say a few things and I can't submit until I have the required characters. May not review again.
Updates, especially new carpeting, are a welcome touch to this motel. It is quiet even though it is next to a truck stop. It is pet friendly. The staff is friendly, well dressed and helpful. It would be nice if there was a restaurant near by.
Chose this hotel over those in Blythe solely based on TA reviews & price, and it was perfect! Needed a clean, secure, pet friendly place to sleep en route from Washington State to Florida, & this place was just that. The nicest, cleanest pet friendly hotel we've found yet. As is, the property was pristine, but they're in the process of installing new carpets. Great breakfast, friendly staff. You won't be disappointed.
I use BW whenever I can. Some locations are too expensive for me to bill to my customers ($90-100 per night), so I stay whatever is close and within budget. When I can, I love to stay at Best Western.
Stayed two nights here and had a good dtay. Even though there is a busy truckstop right next door, you couldn't hear it in the room. Comfy bed, nice large TV. Ill stay here again.....and...the A/C works great.
My family and I stayed at the desert oasis on our way home from Disneyland. Our room was very nice, and the hotel had many nice upgrades available such as the newly refurbished gym and breakfast room. As we were leaving, we accidentally left a suitcase behind that contained several of our souvenirs in the breakfast room. I made a frantic phone call the second we realized it was missing. Every staff member that I spoke to was kind, understanding and helpful. The hotel manager was especially helpful and even drove my bag to the postoffice himself. My bag arrived very quickly and with absolutely everything in it. I attribute the safety of my bag and its contents to these wonderful people. We would definitely stay at this establishment again.
We had a large room with a comfy king bed, good AC, quiet, clean, lots of HD channels, large bar fridge, microwave and a small bathroom with average counter space. The price paid was excellent value. Breakfast was very good and starts earlier than normal for early risers (4 weekdays, 5 weekends). Staff was friendly. There is a gas station and a Wendy's next door.
We stayed just one night in this hotel en route from Arizona to San Deigo. We found the room clean and comfortable, the staff were very helpful and friendly. After we checked out and having driven 60 miles, we realized my husband had left his camera in one of the drawers in the room. A panicky phone call to the hotel and a 60 mile drive back reunited us with the camera. Many thanks to the team at Desert Oasis! We would recommend this hotel as a great stopover between Arizona and California.
Needed a place to stay overnight driving from So Cal to Sedona. Perfect location at the CA-AZ border. Super close to the freeway offramp and gas station. Check in was efficient but not warm. Assigned second floor room - no elevator. Or at least we couldn't find one. Room was basic. Breakfast was pretty good. Rest of staff was welcoming and smiling. EZ check out.
It's just over the border in AZ, so you can say that you got out of California before nightfall. I stay here 2-3 times a year and they are very consistent - friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms. Never have trouble sleeping!
Highly recommend staying at this location as everything was exceptional from the staff to the comfort/cleanliness of the rooms/ and the breakfast. Will stay again and recommend this BW Location to use. Also like the on and off convenience from the freeway.
Excellent hotel on the CA/AZ border. Clean, comfortable, and better than average breakfast. Not much within walking distance for restaurants, but several a few miles west. I don't stay in Best Westerns often, but can recommend this one.
While traveling from Washington to Arizona we plan three stops before arriving at our destination. This hotel far exceeded our expectation for the price. The rooms were of great quality and the beds comfy.
Definitely will stay again when traveling in this direction. Helpful staff, remodeled rooms, pool and spa. We have stayed here before. Better value than the hotels on the California side. Check out the River Run sports bar....casual dining at good prices with friendly staff also.
This hotel is not great but good enough. The pool was enjoyable--had it to myself. Breakfast was what you come to expect at a BW. My only complaint is the exterior locks on the corridors that do no work! Would have liked that extra layer of security.
This hotel is situated nicely for easy freeway access and close to the Colorado River. The Lobby is clean and contemporary in style The front desk attendant was courteous and knowledgeable I asked for a quite room and was given just that. The fitness Center was great - this hotel actually has 2 fitness centers The breakfast was more than adequate The guest room was newly renovated - it was a great stay..
I'm a smoker and as such I always search and book for hotels with smoking rooms. Any smoker will understand me. Well, these are the details of my reservation: Room Details: 1 King Bed, Smoking Room, 42 Inch Lcd Television, Microwave And Refrigerator, High Speed Internet Access, Full Breakfast. Upon checking in I was told there were no smoking rooms. And that was it. Manager failed to honor a reservation. Unacceptable.
We always stay at this Best Western for opening day of Dove hunting season. The Staff goes out of their way for us hunters. The rooms are great and staff friendly. Good A/C which is very important in the 100 plus temperatures and the ice machines are conveniently located.
We had a ground floor King Room, bed was very comfortable, room was a bit small but ample space for our one night stay. Pool is currently being repaired. As. We are doing a road trip and travelling with a car fridge we were able to use the ice machine for our next days travelling.
