Clean spaceous room. Courteous staff. Nice foods. Hotel situated in pleasant area close to Botanic gardens. Bit of a trek to room and to car park but found short cut via side door where Joiner was working (unofficial exit!!!) No tissues in room though which would have been good.

This isn't the fanciest hotel in Dundee, but it is excellent value. Located out the west end of the city, about 1.5 miles from the city centre, but unusually for Dundee - it's a flat walk into town! Otherwise, the reception will organise a taxi for you. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean, the hotel is well set back from the road in very attractive gardens and it is quiet. The restaurant offers a good selection of food and there is a sun terrace out front to admire the views across to Fife. I paid £62 for one night, and this included a full breakfast. Even cheaper deals are sometimes available. Highly recommended.

Myself and my husband spent 1 night here, first time and we were very impressed. Reception..we were greeted with a lovely lady and even though we were over 1 hour early our room was ready a d were located in toom 228. This is part of the new wing and the rooms were beautiful, massive bed, plenty hanging space and great shower. Restaurant....we went for dinner with a couple of friends and it had been recommended prior and i have got to say everything was absolutely gorgeous, best fish and chips ive ever had and the portions are huge. Highly recommend the food Staff.....not a fault here the at all, every member of staff were honestly 1st class and a credit to the hotel. Location.... beautiful views and around 30 min walk to the centre but also bus stop right outside. Breakfast....everything you could ask for and was available until just after 10 (Sunday, unsure if different midweek) We will definitely be back and thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back x Wendy & David

My wife & I stay at the Invercarse Hotel in Dundee whenever we visit our son and Daughter-in-Law. Spacious and comfortable rooms Relaxed atmosphere,Friendly and Accommodating staff, and Beautiful gardens and Views from the Lounge and Terrace. We will look forward to staying with the Invercarse team whenever we visit Dundee.

Plenty of parking and wedding plus coach tour orientated. Our room was maybe 300 metres from reception with six flights of steps. Not good for a person using a walking stick aid. The room door requires the card to be removed to open it turns out. Lovely views across the Tay from the restaurant. We ate at 7pm however the steak option was already sold out. We asked for a wine menu and the wine eventually arrived after we had finished our meal! No complaint against the staff who were very pleasant, but they were too busy and needed help. We enjoyed the wine in the cozy seating area. Breakfast was fine with the Wellingtonia trees and the Tay views. Up to 11am is a civilised time to leave. The top of the coffee machine could do with a clean. A bit concerned that the fire alarm button that was at elbow height next to my breakfast table seat. The room's TV aerial connection was very poor. You can judge a hotel by a certain toilet item that was absent here. The shower had a unique control that was set apart from the shower itself - an excellent system. Would we return. Not really.

Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed an excellent evening meal with friends. Breakfast was standard fayre and plentiful. No complaints whatsoever. More than happy to return should we be in the area again.

Booked a cheap 2 night break between Xmas and new year , was upgraded on arrival as I think hotel was quiet . Beautiful king room at far end of hotel , massive bed 6 pillows , big tv , good walk in shower , everything you need provided , hairdryer toiletries , iron/board, tea/coffee etc and cosy . Bus stop outside hotel 5A to town £2.75 every 20 mins run till 11pm taxi back was only £9 though . Staff very friendly , bar has Tennents … Breakfast £14 , was cooked to order and continental was also there , lovely coffee machine, 30mins in walking distance to shops , cafes etc , round corner from Ninewells hospital .

I have stayed in the hotel frequently and always find it to be welcoming, friendly, very clean with excellent food and service. The rooms are spotless and serviced daily the receptionists are very helpful

I stayed at the hotel for two nights. The night before a family members wedding and the night of the wedding. Staff were very accommodating throughout the whole stay and we had a great experience overall.

This was a coach tour stop over after having a few days on the Shetland Isles. There was a lovely walk-in shower BUT no grab handle or anti-slip mat, which we nowadays anticipate & take our old mat from home on a one way journey. Food was very good with table service & self service breakfast but only scrambled egg on offer & no hot chocolate from the drinks machine.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a four night mini break away. We stayed the previous two nights at another Best Western hotel in Northumberland which we really enjoyed. On checking in there was no welcome and we found the receptionist unfriendly . Our room was ok it had everything in it we needed for two nights. We were on a dinner bed and breakfast package however none of the staff appeared to know what our allowance was from the menu. In the end they told us £18 each but this did not make sense as it would have been cheaper to just book bed and breakfast we queried it at reception and were told it was nothing to do with the hotel it was up to us to contact Best Western no offer of help to sort it out not interested. We spent the following day trying to get in touch with Best Western who finally contacted the hotel for us to change the allowance because we had been quoted the wrong amount. The meal on first night was ok more like pub style food. We ordered two beers from the bar and they were brought to us in two cans and just left on the table for us to open and pour out ourselves. My husband opened the can and it exploded in his hands showering us with beer and pouring all over the table and floor, He had to get up to go get a cloth to clean it up. The bar person came over and said she didn't know why it happened. Surely when you order a drink in a restaurant it should at least be opened and poured for you like most other drinks ?? We had our meal and nobody asked us how it was . We asked for the dessert menu which was brought to us and half an hour later we asked could we order the waitress laughed and said she had actually forgotten us, We then waited another forty minutes for the dessert in the end we got fed up of waiting got up to leave and said to the waitress cancel it and she laughingly said it was never ordered I forgot to send it through to the kitchen. No apologies nothing at least she seemed to think it was funny. At breakfast on our first morning a coach party had just left . On looking into the containers there was hardly anything left this was a 8.15 in the morning. I got the last piece of bacon there were no sausages or much else. I mentioned it to a member of staff that didn't appear interested. This hotel caters for its coach parties and offers poor customer service. It was mentioned to reception on leaving but we just got an oh dear. Very disappointed.

The hotel hosted a big party for friends and family in the beautiful ballroom. The planning was great with lots of information and attention to detail. Many friends and family stayed in the hotel also. I have lost count of the fantastic comments that I have had from guests complimenting the service, rooms and food. The event was extremely well done, with assistance from staff whenever it was required and all details attended to. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic on the night. We also stayed in the hotel as a family and our room was spotless, with another bedroom enclosed in the family room. Breakfast was excellent, as well as the restaurant. I can't thank the staff enough for making our stay and function so special. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We had everything we required for a quiet stay ,dinner and breakfast were good,staff were very approachable, room was clean and bright good size television bathroom and very nice walk-in shower no faults here

We had the most amazing wedding day from start to finish. Everything Dan on time The staff were amazing, The food was 5 stars. All our wedding guests commented on the wedding breakfast and the restaurant food was of the same quality along with the breakfast.A fantastic stay was had by all our wedding guests and they said they would all stay at the hotel again. Lovely hotel with great view. Rooms were clean,spacious with king size bed.We had patio door so husband could go out to smoke without walking through hotel to smoking area.restaurant,lounge decor lovely.Outside area lovely with seating to sit when nice weather

Extremely rude and unhelpful lady at the reception when we checked in on the 8th of July in the afternoon, around 3-4pm. I told my name 3 times to her, spelled it, both first and surname. English is not my first language but that is why I spelled it. 3 times she told us that we do not have a reservation and she was kind of ‘off you go, there is no reservation for you'. She did not want to solve the situation that she does not find my reservation, she did not suppose that probably we have but there is something wrong with the name, she was extremely rude and unhelpful. With travelling all day with a 16 month old toddler that was what we wanted to experience the least. After that she told us she will check it again according to the first name and what a surprise, she found our reservation! She told us that this was my fault because I swapped my first name and surname with the booking. This is true, I swapped it, but the way she handled the situation was upsetting. Everything else was great, but because of her I would not recommend the hotel. Young girl at the breakfast was very nice!

Really nice hotel, views from the hotel are lovely.Rooms were spacious with comfortable bed. Staff from reception to housekeeping were so friendly. Meals were presented well and freshly cooked. Would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel is in a nice area, with a lovely scenic view. Rooms are big, but the beds a terrible, technically, two single beds and pushed to next each other to make a double! The restaurant is not available to guests unless you book beforehand! #The lovely lady at the reception (Mellissa) deserves five stars.

The hotel is in a great location, it has ample car parking and great views from the restaurant and breakfast areas and it also has a garden to wander around in or just sit in and look across the Firth of Forth !!! the food, both breakfasts and evening meals is excellent and the service is superb, comfortable rooms and a nice lounge and bar area to relax in, i love it here !!

The hotel is spotless, the staff are brilliant so helpful and polite, the restaurant staff are very polite & helpful too. The room was brilliant as we had a disability room and ther was plenty of room to move about and spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back for a another short break.

Some work colleagues and I booked a two-night stay at the Invercarse in mid-January. The hotel is overall excellent, with nice rooms, fabulous young staff, and Bernard the night porter :) The food in the restaurant was great and the choice of gluten-free at dinner and breakfast was superb. Going back this month with some relatives and really looking forward to it. Bernard is a real asset to the company.

As returning customers we were warmly greeted as old friends. Rooms are spacious with good quality furnishings. King size beds are really comfy. Restaurant has a good selection of dishes with excellent quality produce. Will definitely return again.

Stayed here with my family for a 70th birthday party being held in the ball room. The room is a great size for a family of 4. Beds very comfy. Breakfast was fantastic lots it choice for adults and kids.

This is our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was lovely. The hotel is in a nice setting with easy access by bus to the town centre.

Stayed in one of the upgraded rooms in December. Christmas decorations in reception were lovely and the hotel had a lovely warm feel to it. Room was quite big - looked like it had just been renovated. Great shower. Hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and flat screen TV in room. Breakfast was stunning. Great wrap-around views of the Tay in the breakfast room. Great selection of food - bacon was particularly nice. Nice bar for a drink in the evening too. Fab stay, would recommend, staff very helpful and friendly.

Just spent the weekend at the hotel with colleagues who are also friends. Fantastic from start to finish. Room was clean and modern and food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast. Brilliant gluten free choice. All staff were lovely but special mention to the young team of waitstaff, who were friendly and efficient. Also to Bernard the night manager, who is a great asset to the hotel and honestly could not have been more hospitable and welcoming.

Just returned from a two night stay with family, six of us in four rooms. Hotel is beautiful throughout. Food first class both at dinner and breakfast. Fourth time in Dundee and Invercarse is by far the best hotel we've stayed in, will definitely be returning. Five stars ⭐️

Easy to find the hotel, nice environment in a quiet location. Free parking with enough slots, no need to worry parking issues. The indoor heats are working efficiently which make this winter trip more comfortable.

Just left after having a koveky stay for 2 nights. Nice warm friendky greeting from receotion, quickly checked in. Room was room 139, a fair way from receotion but was okay. Not much foot traffic outside door. ROOM room was warm in arrival, super kingsize bed which was very comfy and cosy. Good size tv. Tea coffee making facilties. Great shower Breakfast is buffet style which hot and pleniful. Everything we had was nice. I asked for a poached egg and got two. Nicely cooked. All staff were friendly so all in all a loveky stay and will definitely return soon. Xx

Overall, very beautiful place and very good service. The staff are very polite, professional and kind. The amenities and the quality of the room are incredibly good. Slight more attention needed towards the breakfast buffet but to be honest the spread was decent and quality is extremely good. I really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff at the restaurant are very kind and always ready to help. I would strongly recommend to anyone who wants a pleasant, comfortable and trouble free stay in Dundee.

Stayed here following a Christmas Party Night. Party night was great - good food, beautifully decorated room, band could have been faster at playing the next song, but that was a small issue as still plenty of dancing done. Room was clean and comfortable. There was a problem with the soap dispenser at the sink as there was no room to fit your hand under it to use it. Breakfast in the morning had an ok selection. Staff were very friendly. Nice stay but not exceptional.

After a three year gap back for the party night for about 20. The hotel and ballroom were well decorated and festive. Friendly check in with a nice clean room and reasonably comfortable bed. Good room rate with the party night too (book with the hotel direct). There was quite a bit of noise coming from the corridor late on but it was a party night! The meal was served very efficiently and tasty for a 'bulk' service. Just one choice (turkey and trimmings) unless vegetarian by request 48 hours in advance. Band was pretty good and a good choice of music when they were on a break. Breakfast was buffet style, the hot foot was hot, tasty and not greasy. Usual sort of range - sausage, beans, bacon, tomatoes and scrambled eggs. Fried or poached eggs by request. Try and get a table at the window in the dining room and you'll be rewarded with a fantastic uninterrupted view out over the River Tay.

Weekend away, great welcoming at reception, staff lovely, room was as booked, clean, tidy, warm, really good bed and bedding. Easy access to Dundee City via public transport or 9.00 for a taxi. Ate in restaurant on Saturday night, food was fantastic and service tremendous. We also paid for breakfast 2 mornings, decent continental choice, cereals and range of hot food buffet style,

People are more likely to complain than give praise just now. This hotel deserves lots of praise, we had a lovely 2 night stay at the hotel. We did quite a lot of research before booking and it ticked all our boxes. Pleasant location, clean tidy rooms and helpful staff. Our room was a king size at the back of the hotel as we requested a quiet room. It was well appointed with a great shower. We ate in the hotel one night with a lovely menu. Food was well presented. Be warned the chef likes spices so read the menu carefully. Breakfast has great views over the bay to Newport, plenty of choice, cold meats, pastries and hot fair.

Booked company party night here for Christmas and unfortunately one of staff members has contracted Covid so being professional and following national guidelines is not attending. Informed hotel of this in advance and that we would even be willing to have the unused cost used at the bar on the evening but we were informed that there is a no changes / refund policy so we would just lose the money. The member of staff would have loved to attend the yearly celebration but is doing the correct thing by isolating to prevent the spread and as in advance the hotel has lost no money in this cancellation especially when our original booking has increased twice in numbers since original booking, yet no gesture of goodwill can be made to an unavoidable situation even when we were happy to still spend the money with the hotel with bar purchases. Very unprofessional and disappointing!

Stayed recently and had a great time. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was well appointed and comfortable. We are in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast and the food was delicious also. This was our first visit but it will certainly not be the last!

I was travelling with my son and upon arrival said that we'd called to see if we could get a twin room as I'd been unable to sort it online. We were told we'd just missed the last twin. We relayed the tale on arrival and the lovely receptionist arranged for the super king bed in our room to be made up as two. She couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you

Stayed for two- night dbb break. Excellent value for money. Free upgrade from hotel. Room very spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Overall the hotel is very well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and dinner was very tasty. Drink reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again and recommend for a pleasant and peaceful break.

Superb - friendly staff, excellent food and spacious suite. We stayed here as my mum was in hospital in Ninewells in Dundee, which is only a four minute drive from the hotel. We stayed in a suite and, although a little executive, it was spacious and warm and clean and had the most beautiful bath. The restaurant food was incredible and really good value for money for the quality of the ingredients. Every single member of staff was kind and helpful. The views from the restaurant during the day were beautiful, although the weather wasn't always kind! We would definitely stay again, but hopefully under less stressful circumstances.

Excellent stay, from first arrival to check out service was fantastic, staff so friendly, helpful and welcoming in all areas from reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping. Food fantastic excellent value. Lovely views room was lovely and clean. Really nice atmosphere. We go away each year for girls break and last year stayed at Dunblane hydro and invercarse was a much nicer experience would definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, comfortable, well maintained room. Good restaurant both for breakfast and evening dinner. Reasonable bar prices. Beautiful garden area with Redwood trees. Internet very poor both in bedroom and all public areas.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable room although it was a bit stuffy and it was too cold to open the window. Relaxing bar are with great ambience. Good choice at breakfast and with a good view over the Tay from the dining room. Ample car parking and a very quiet location.

The Hotel has a great location with great views from the restaurant. Staff were very friendly. Comfy rooms, which were very quiet. The food was excellent, breakfast had a good selection. The evening meal was lovely and had a good menu.

With the general relaxation in COVID restrictions we decided to have a couple of days away from home. While I had visited Dundee a few times over the years my wife had never been there and as it was only just over a 1 hour drive from our home we decided to go there. The Invercarse proved to be a good choice for us in many respects. It was the right side of Dundee and very close to the A90 road so was in an excellent location. It is also next to one of the main bus routes into the city centre so throughout our stay we left the car in the hotel's car park and travelled everywhere by bus. Our room was very spacious and clean although somewhat lacking in wardrobe and drawer storage space for clothes but I think that is increasingly the case with many short stay hotels these days. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate. If there was a slight downside it was the distance from our room to reception and the dining room but you can't have it all ways. Our booking included a fixed amount towards the cost of dinner on the first night which we took and enjoyed. Breakfast proved to be a bit haphazard as their wasn't much circulating space around the chafing dishes for everyone turning up at much the same time. Also if you wanted a fried egg this had to be requested when you entered the breakfast room as only scrambled eggs were routinely set out. If you managed to get a table near a window the view across the hotel grounds was worth seeing. Another bonus point is the proximity to the University of Dundee Botanic Garden which is a short walk away. Should we ever decide to visit Dundee again then we will try and book the Invercarse if it available.

A lovely hotel with views across to the River Tay as the hotel is up a steep driveway. Stayed for one night on our road trip around Scotland and wished we stayed longer. All the staff were a credit to Best Western, so friendly and accommodating and a special thanks to Suzy in the restaurant who went over and above to make our evening in the restaurant a great experience. The food was very nice, both the evening meal and breakfast. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Would recommend to anyone who needs to visit the area.

We had another lovely 2 night stay booked through my hotel break. It consisted of bb and dinner 1 night and a bottle of wine with dinner . Location is great and view from hotel is stunning . Food is lovely and buffet breakfast is great . This was our 5th stay in 2 years and will definitely be back .

Myself, my Maid of Honour, Mum and Dad stayed Friday night (before wedding on Saturday) at the Invercarse Hotel. We were so impressed with the spacious and modern rooms and the meal we had in the Dining Room was excellent. It was lovely that the staff were excited about the wedding just as we were. The Saturday was my now husband and I's Wedding Day. What an amazing wedding. I would like to thank Nicola for helping with the organisation and for her prompt email replies when we had any questions. Paul was so helpful and calmly escorted us from hotel room to Ballroom for the ceremony. Also thanks to Derek for helping with the music - everything was timed perfectly. I would highly recommend the Invercarse Hotel for an overnight stay and meal. And if you are looking for a wedding venue, they are so experienced that everything went like clockwork.

Firstly the staff were what i expected from a scottish hotel. Very friendly & helpful, Nothing is too much trouble. The room large and comfortable. The price on par with others in the area. I recall staying here many years ago during some building works. but its upped its game as I didnt hav ethe best experiance then. A great team !

Rooms clean and well appointed. Staff friendly and helpful. Great food. Easy access by bus to centre of Dundee to view attractions like V&A. Beside Botanic Gardens that are worth a visit. Many other attractions within driving distance. .

Worst night sleep for some years. Room was next to the extractor fans for the kitchen so was unable to relax when I got in the room with the noise from the fans. Spoke to reception and was told the hotel is full so unable to be moved but the fans would switched off about 10 and back on at 6 in the morning. They did go off at 10 but came back on at 1130 and then just after 6. So if you like a about 7 hours sleep with being woken during the night then this is the place for you

We met wonderful staff who where very helpful. The room was spotless and location excellent. So was very disappointed to find the breakfast was poor. Mouldy bread on the toasting section. Dirty plates waiting for use at the hot section. The bacon and potato scones hard as brick and all the breakfast items were cold. However the coffee was delicious!!

Lovely hotel. Very helpful staff. Room lovely. Disabled facilities in room great. Was with my mum who uses wheelchair. Some difficulty in accessing room because of stairs. Had to use fire door. Go out of hotel to external path. Would advise any wheelchair user to check with hotel to ensure needs met.

evening meal food lovely and value for money . lots of banging doors at night , there was a wedding this evening so people coming back to there rooms until around 1am. you could hear people using the toilet and sinks from the rooms next door so didnt have a great night sleep. dirty razor top left in shower soap tray. dirty glasses and bits of mould in water container at breakfast. the breakfast looked nice but was totally put of with the water.

The Invercarse hotel staff are absolutely amazing! Nothing too much trouble...so friendly, caring, approachable and so attentive! The hotel cleanliness is excellent, as always. We stayed in a King accessible suite this time and it was perfect with its own patio doors. It was great being able to open the window that was part of the patio door but still keep the patio doors locked whilst sleeping. The bed was super comfy, quality of linen and furnishings of a high standard and the amenities in the room were great. The wet room was huge with lovely toiletries. The tea/coffee tray was well stocked and housekeeping were more than happy to accommodate if we needed more. Fresh towels were supplied daily (although we re-used ours more than once... as we would at home....trying to do do our little to help the environment). There is always a friendly, warm welcome at reception and a wee chat if they're not too busy. The bar is very comfortable with a well stocked selection of drinks. The cake was delicious for our afternoon cuppa! The restaurant has spectacular views of the beautifully tended hotel gardens and the River Tay beyond....We've taken so many photos of this view and they never live upto how beautiful it actually is in person. The food served in the restaurant is exceptional, so flavoursome. Great variety too. Worth a visit even if you're not a resident...but remember to book so as to not be disappointed incase they're fully booked! Also, what a view for enjoying a delicious breakfast. Great choice of fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurts and fruit juices. Cooked breakfast has a great range and then lovely, fresh cooked sweet pastries to finish off with a cuppa. The restaurant/bar staff are very attentive and always on hand with a friendly manner. The hotel itself is in a really nice, quiet location with plenty of free parking. Approx 5 mins drive from town centre but noticed there's a local bus service just beside hotel entrance. A huge heartfelt "thank you" to Sean, Paul and the wonderful staff for looking after us so well xxx

We have stayed here a few times over the years. We were here for 2 nights this week for a family funeral. The room was a good size and clean with a good shower. (We had upgraded) Breakfast had a lovely selection although the sausage wasn't of great quality. The food made for the wake was lovely. Fresh sandwiches, cakes etc. The staff were all very friendly. On arrival there was a man being trained who was smiling and friendly but the lady training him was not! Not the most modern hotel we have stayed in but perfectly clean and welcoming. Thank you

Had booked a standard room for 3 adults for a graduation visit to Dundee. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to find our son had his own separate room off ours, complete with TV and coffee/tea making facilities. We just had to share the bathroom. Was great value, private & spacious. We were in room 209.

The staff were pleasant and helpful but are let down by company needing to attend to a few matters in a competitive market. We booked 3 rooms for our stay at the Invercarse hotel in Dundee. 1. King Accessible Room 2. King Room and 3. Quadruple Room. The King Accessible room was anything but accessible. It is located at the very back of the hotel (which is built on a hill) and this requires a very long walk from the reception area and the negotiation of several sets of steps ranging from 3/4 - 5/6 steps. Our party included a 93 and 90 year old who both use walking sticks and zimmer frame. We were told this room was the disabled / elderly room due to the patio door exiting to the outside driveway. However it is simply not acceptable to have to endure a trip outside to move between the bedroom and the dining areas particularly if it is dark and raining. It would be far better to say to potential guests that you cannot accomodate elderly /disabled guests than to have them cope with having to go outside to access the rest of the hotel. Many elderly guests were staying that night and found their bedrooms too far away from reception/dining area. In addition the patio door lock was loose and this had either not been checked or ignored, we had to fix the lock ourselves using a penknife screwdriver. Quadruple Room This was used by 3 young adults in 20s. The sheets on 2 of the beds were covered in a thick (and I mean thick) layer of dust. In addition to visible dust that had to be brushed away, the sheets were musty. This we assumed was due to the room being serviced many weeks/months prior to its next use- but again unacceptable. The other rooms were clean however. King Room The mattress was terrible with a dip. Mattress really needs to be renewed. I felt as if I was rolling to one side and constantly had to shift position. The hotel generally had a very basic feel to the rooms which is fine but frankly Premier Inn do that alot better - and so that is where I would go in future. I was disppointed with our group's stay at the Invercarse whichh is a shame as I stayed here about 5 years ago and it was much better.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a private function and the room we were in was a perfect size for 40 people with a spectacular view of the Tay. Buffet was delicious and staff very attentive. The following day, because of the experience the night before, I treated my friend to lunch at the hotel and that did not disappoint either. Food amazing and again, staff attentive and not overpowering. Definitely be back.

Hotel has fantastic view, comfortable clean rooms and very helpful staff. Good room options for families. This is our second visit to this hotel and sure we will be back. Right next to Botanic Gardens which is worth a visit too.

Stayed at the Invercarse as a function was being held there, but decided to add on a couple of extra nights. Room was excellent, bed very comfortable. Restaurant food was very good, and the staff were excellent. All in all it was excellent value, and we will be staying here again.

My husband and I stayed for one night at the Invercarse and I cannot fault it. As soon as we arrived the reception staff were lovely and so attentive. Check in process was seamless, and our room was modern and spacious. It was a warm weekend and we were provided with a fan in the room to keep us cool which was very thoughtful. We enjoyed drinks outside in the garden enjoying the wonderful view of the River Tay, and Susie the restaurant supervisor served us outside to our table. She was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is conveniently located around 10 minutes from the town centre so very quick and easy to reach places. There is a bus stop right outside the bottom of the drive. Breakfast in the morning was self service and had a delightful selection of hot and cold buffet. Michelle and the other waitressing staff were kind and helpful. Overall my husband and I absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dundee or surrounding areas.

Great hotel beautiful views over the river Tay and the grounds were stunning. Lots of parking and very safe. The staff were so friendly and made you feel at home rather than it being formal. The food was amazing and a good choice on the menu. Highly recomended if you are travelling to Dundee.

Stayed here on numerous occasions and every time the service, staff, food and room are excellent. Easy parking to the rear and side of the hotel with no great distance to walk to reception. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean with toiletries and fluffy towels. Dinner in the restaurant offers a varied menu, my personal favourite being the seafood platter. Breakfast is buffet with a good selection and plenty of tea coffee and toast. Lounge area very comfy for an after dinner drink. Can't wait to return.

Had a lovely stay .we were upgraded to king family room for no extra cost .beds so comfortable large TV. Food was beautiful .grounds were amazing to sit outside defo recommend a stay .staff couldn't do enough for us very friendly

We had a great experience at this hotel it was a reunion. The only problem We found was accessibility but as the hotel is built on a slope I guess solving that would be difficult. As our group were around 70 yrs old there were some people with mobility problems

Stayed here for 1 night. Had dinner it was fantastic large portions well worth the money. Room was very clean and large bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great views from the restraunt and bar area of the Tay. We will definitely revist.

As a Platinum Rewards member, I got, what I thought was a great deal on this hotel, through a Best Western promotion. On checking in, I asked if there was any availability for an upgrade, as per the Rewards programme. I was laughing told, the only upgrade available is two upgrades, and, for the price you've paid, there's no chance, unless you pay. I then asked about my Welcome Drink as a Platinum Rewards member, being told “ We stopped doing that in Covid”. Eventually, I was begrudgingly given a drink voucher. Not a good start really. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom, and everything seemed clean. However, there was a terrible noise from outside both the bathroom and the bedroom windows of the aircon units. This meant the windows could not be left open. I went downstairs and asked how long the noise goes on for and was told it would stop before 10pm. It did, only to start again at 5am, followed by yet another very loud noise from yet another unit outside the bedroom door, as a door was left open next to the aircon unit. It sounded like we were in an engine room. Hence, the room was not fit for purpose, .i.e. to sleep, relax or rest. I asked to see a duty manager the next day, who was concerned and offered us a complimentary breakfast, but by now we had had enough and just wanted out of the hotel, having been awake since 5am. Having looked on Tripadvisor, we can see this has been an issue for many. Our room was 101. We won't be returning.

Really nice hotel & great service. Stayed in the celebration suite which was amazing. Massive bed, great shower & stand-alone bath. Requested late checkout too which was great. Really close to the city centre. If you want a taxi, there's a yellow button at reception you press which goes directly to the taxi firm & one arrived in under 5 minutes. Good bar with nice seating area outside. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Got a good deal on Itison. Would highly recommend the hotel & wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Bit sceptical as it seemed cheaper than comparable 3 star hotels. Totally unfounded, awesome place. Room spotless and recently decorated, really comfortable. Restaurant offer good choice, not page after page , quality not quantity. Staff really good, efficient, friendly, nothing too much trouble. Excellent car parking. All round pleasant stay, look forward to coming back

I only came here for 3 nights for a work trip. But i feel i came back from a holiday. Friendly staff, peaceful location and beautifully clean rooms, what else do you need. Rooms were clean and comfy, with large bed and soft sheets with a brilliant luxury smell. rooms contained kettle/iron/haridryer/desk/large tv. Great shower and fresh towels. Staff were genuine and polite. Location was utterly peaceful. 30 min walk from airport (you cant hear planes, dont worry) and bus stop outside that heads directly to Dundee centre. When im back in dundee, i wont be staying anywhere else, I will be here!

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at Invercarse. Room was large, and clean. Guess view could have been better. Food very good excellent portions. Liked location in nice part of the city. Was nice to see a wedding on and the hotel as busy as it was.

I have ran several large events for university students within Dundee and across various venues, and I have never felt the need to write a review before, but i must say that Invercarse Hotel is quite simply the best venue to organise formal occasions with, so if you are looking to organise a ball, wedding, conference etc...this place is so fitting for these types of events. They are exemplary with communication and organisation prior to the event, they will find you the best deal in line with your budget and your type of guests. On the night, they will help with anything and everything. Their staff are very friendly, professional and supportive. Nicola Carroll is the hotels Assistant Manager, she overseen my event (University ball for 250 guests). I have worked with a lot of venue managers, but Nicola is the type of events manager that all venues should have. Highly recommend her to anyone, so it is best requesting her before planning anything. The company are very lucky to have Nicola and it is probably because of her that there will be several more large functions similar to mine at this venue. Very happy overall so thanks for helping us make a nice memory.

Spent 2 nights at Invercarse Hotel DBB which was lovely..From check in ..to check out was seamless and easy....The Staff were brilliant, as was the food, the room nd the location.... Well done guys we will be back....

The Property was good. The room was really comfortable and clean with good facilities. However, the reception staff do let it down. The reception staff could do with being courteous. The staff were brusque, unwelcoming and lack courtesy and etiquette. It felt like they would rather not have our custom. And that is a pity because the property itself is really good, clean and a great location. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Edinburgh and Glasgow for work. This is really not what I expected of Scottish hospitality, especially when treating my family to a holiday in Scotland.

Registering was a breeze and the receptionist was courteous and friendly. The room was very good and clean (except 2 singles shoved together but mattress covered both and was comfortable). 2 biscuits and not a very varied selection of teas or coffees. The dinner was very good and very reasonable as was the breakfast.

We had a lovely overnight at the Invercarse for our anniversary. It was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean and comfortable and we loved the views over the River Tay from the restaurant/bar. We bought a deal at Christmas which included wine, dinner, bed and breakfast - the value of what we got for the money paid was superb. We walked in to the city which was quite a long walk but with amazing views of the River Tay and the bridges. We got a taxi back.

We had a couple of nice nights at this hotel the staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean the meals are really good thay look good and taste good service very good the hotel is in nice grounds only 30 minutes walk to town centre or buses every 20 minutes into town

We arrived for a light lunch and were delighted with the food and service. We had a sandwich and a small soup followed by a coffee/tea and cake,all of which were delicious. I must congratulate the smartness of the staff who were immaculate while providing excellent service. Outstanding

Great value hotel with good cooked breakfast and great staff. Can be noisy when wedding or event guests spill out into the car park but the windows provide good soundproofing when closed. The hotel does its best to control noise but in every hotel there's always someone who has a tad too much to drink.

We booked this hotel for 1 night dinner bed and breakfast with a bottle of wine. We were absolutely amazed at how friendly and professional the staff were. From the minute we arrived to the moment we departed, we felt like we were VIPs.. the food was excellent and the choice was great. The room we received was spotless and clean. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. We will definitely be back. Thanks again .

I stay at this hotel most weeks for work. It is really cosy, welcoming and makes staying away from home one night a week a treat rather than a chore. Much better quality compared to competitors at similar price. Food is really good too.

This is an excellent setting for the big day. Beautiful Ballroom to accommodate the ceremony and the canapes and main meal food is delicious. The well landscaped gardens are ideal for the Wedding photos. The staff are always on hand to see everything runs smoothly.

Second visit to this hotel and it was a very enjoyable stay. Leaving the car was an option to travel by bus with stop outside hotel taking you to city centre or bus station where several buses are available for other cities and towns.

Lunch date with a relative, always love the food here… today … disaster… fish over cooked… couldn't chew it … hard. Waitress never asked how food was.. and when serving her mask was under her nose…. If this is what the new management tolerate.. doubt we will be back.

Smart location, you can leave the car and get the bus into town. Nice restaurant overlooking the Tay, pub prices, popular with locals, But the website tells you the best deals are available when you book direct. The wifi password is 'book direct'. Clearly they want you to book direct - to avoid them paying 15% Booking.com fees. Sadly the deal offered by 'booking direct' saves customers not one penny. Cheeky. If they insist on being so greedy I'd go with Booking.com in future.

I came to the invercarse hotel for a work meeting. The food was amazing: roast chicken dinner followed by a nice chocolate terrine. Considering they were catering for 40+ the food was delicious and with generous helpings. Clean plates all round!

This is a lovely hotel, some of the rooms are old but have character , others at the back are only 4 years old and have all the facilities for an excellent stay. It's nice and quiet. From reception to breakfast to dinner and the bar the staff are wonderful and friendly. We felt really relaxed during our stay. Breakfast had a great selection, with everything fresh. The food at dinner was great, tasty, decent portions and reasonably priced. We ate here both nights and would happily come for just meals. The cleaning staff are doing a great job, our room was spotless, everything replenished and everything in the room was well maintained. Whilst the bar staff were great, the prices we felt were a touch high, especially when serving spirits at 25ml. We will come back here, just to sit out in better weather and appreciate the wonderful views.

I stayed here every fortnight for two nigts over last six months. Everytime we visited it was spot on. Welcoming and helpful Receptionists, restaurant staff and housekeepers, all staff members are great.

Third visit of this year and have to say was a bit disappointed. On the same deal as my visit in June - 2 nights b&b with dinner on 1 night with a complimentary upgrade depending on availability. We were allocated room 116 which was a bit of a letdown - bathroom and furniture tired - although the bed was massive and super comfy. Reception staff weren't as friendly as previous visits, one in fact was a bit rude. When I asked about paying on arrival the response was a very curt “I'll get to that in a minute”. Restaurant staff were nice and the manager (I think) that helped us with a query over the tv in our room was super friendly. Breakfast was plentiful as before and we enjoyed our evening meal, which as before was tasty and plentiful. Putting this down as a one off.

Great staff , the cleaning girls took the time to say good morning , the reception staff were all friendly and very welcoming , hotel was clean , rooms were well presented and a fantastic view while having breakfast . Definately would return .

We found the hotel really comfortable, warm, and quiet. Shower was good, bed was really comfy, duvet and bed linen nice and crisp and clean. Room was a really good size and the telly was massive! The room had a sofa in it. Each day new towels, and refreshments were left outside the room as the room was not serviced, unless you requested it, due to Covid. Staff at reception were really pleasant and helpful. There is a large car park and even on evenings when there were events on in the ballroom, we had no trouble finding a parking space. We will definitely stay here again. We stayed here as our son is at Uni in Dundee and from here we could walk to his accommodation, and then into the city centre. It is a bit of a distance but was very pleasant. There are also plenty of bus routes stopping outside the hotel if you want to leave the car at the hotel for the day. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening or have breakfast so cannot comment on the food.

Stayed in a beautifully appointed king room on a free upgrade. Huge, comfortable bed, large flatscreen TV, modern bathroom with a great, powerful walk in shower. Everything was spotlessly clean with lovely bedding and towels. Nice breakfast including fresh fruit, croissants and a decent hot breakfast. Ate in the hotel one night and the quality of the food was fantastic. Very friendly and courteous staff in all areas. Would definitely stay again.

The room needs a bit of updating however bed was comfortable with so much room. The redwood restaurant had a small menu but superb quality. Service at hotel and restaurant was excellent and prices very good. Will definitely book here again.

So, having had our overnight stay in Argyll cancelled last minute due to a covid outbreak, we ended up in Dundee and staying at the Invercarse Hotel. Check in was a bit of a carry on with a misunderstanding with our MyHotelBreak.com deal. Once sorted, we arranged for our bottle of wine ( part of the deal ) to be at our table for dinner. Got to our room through some tired looking corridors and was satisfied with a modern looking, tidy and clean room and bathroom. Good, hot blasting shower and comfy bed. Dinner in their Redwood Restaurant was poor. Complete mixup/misunderstanding with our bottle of wine which eventually got sorted. Starters for both of us were satisfactory, nothing amazing. My wife ordered a steak burger which she said was decent. I ordered their most expensive main, a medium rare 8oz ribeye steak. What arrived was a thin, overcooked (well done) and what I suspect was under weight slab of beef. Extremely disappointing. I would have possibly sent it back,( I don't like to cause a fuss ) but NOT ONCE during the whole meal did any of the waiting staff ask how our food was or even ask if we wanting more drinks, even during clearing our plates away! This was another let down by the staff. We had finished our starter and main within an hour of being seated, but it took another hour for our main plates to be cleared, and dessert to be brought, this was despite the restaurant quieting. My wife had the chocolate cheesecake which she said was nice, I skipped dessert. Bar area is disappointingly small for a hotel that size, and with no seats available, we jumped in a taxi to the city centre for some drinks. Back to the room later that night. Decent sleep in comfy bed, and good hot, blasting shower in morning. Buffet breakfast was decent, would have liked a slightly bigger choice of both hot and cold items but it was hot, fresh and tasty. Check out, .... again, not one member of staff asked how our stay was. When checking out, we were simply asked which room number, given our final bill, and wished goodbye. ABSOLUTELY no personal touch to our stay and no member of staff seemed to be interested if we were happy. Wouldn't recommend.

We stayed in a twin room on the 1st floor with a 40 inch TV, shower over the bath and 2 chairs in the bedroom. Due to Covid restrictions there was no room service for the 2 nights, but fresh towels along with tea/coffee were available. The hotel is elevated off the road in a residential area and a short drive into the city centre. We had a special deal with dinner included on 1 night, but we were so impressed with the food and ate in the restaurant on the 2nd night. Food prices were very reasonable, breakfast was a buffet style which I'm not fond of and prefer freshly cooked items, but my wife prefers that style. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Stayed midweek for one night. Staff were excellent and very welcoming and helpful. Cleanliness of room lacking particularly in COVID times. En suit smelt strongly of bleach which was positive however was hand basin, vanity unit and shower were not clean sadly. Room very warm and no aircon.

Really enjoyed our stay in Dundee for a family wedding. The hotel is perfectly located for flying in and out of Dundee Airport. Staff were really friendly and dinner was fab. Breakfast could do with a few more options.

The hotel is easy to find, check in was a doddle, the room was great - supremely comfy bed, with the best pillows I've slept on in years. Breakfasts were self service, with varied, plentiful choices. Hot food appeared freshly cooked. Coffee was a wee bit wishywashy, but that's my only complaint about the whole place. Our evening meal was really good too, with plenty choice. Covid measures were taken seriously, and the rooms and corridors were well aired. Every single staff member was really welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel.

I visited the Best Western Dundee Invercarse Hotel, in Dundee, Scotland with my mum from 28th September until the 1st October, we stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, from start to finish our stay was extremely enjoyable, we were booked on a bed and breakfast, with an evening meal on two of our three nights, all meals were exceptional, breakfast in particular as this set us both up for the day. All staff were extremely polite and they couldn't do enough for us The only issue I had was the very poor Internet signal, we were on holiday so did not require to utilise the Internet on a regular basis but this could be an issue if someone was travelling on business and required reliable access All in all myself and my mum had a great stay and we would not hesitate in recommending the above hotel to family and friends Jules

Excellent interaction with Front Desk. Kind and caring staff. The room we stayed in was the disabled access room. Huge bathroom/wet room with handles in the right places. Easily accessible for wheelchair users. Massive king bed, so easily shared. Direct access from the room into the car.

We stopped over here after a week up north and thought it would be a good end to the overall experience. Sadly the experience wasn't as good as hoped. Hence the three. Restaurant meal was a real disaster.

Booked this hotel for a weekend in Dundee. Great staff very helpful nothing was a problem. The room was lovely. The bar and the restaurant were in a conservatory overlooking the river. Bar was reasonably price with a good selection. The food in the restaurant was very good. The hotel was well frequented by non residents. The picture shows scampi and haddock pieces. The breakfast was a buffet and a good selection

From the check in time until check out, the staff could not do more for us. We visited with family to celebrate a brother's golden wedding anniversary, it was just the tonic we needed. This is a little gem of a place, lovely views, terrific food at dinner and all staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and good humoured. Will definitely visit this place again. Very impressed with the warm welcome and the excellent staff,the hotel was very clean throughout and the room was well equipped, the food was excellent and at a fair price would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting high standards at a sensible price.

Great place, nice staff. Rooms were very nice. Very nicely set out, lounge and bar dinning area was very nice. Lovely beer garden outside. Breakfast was superb, eat as much as you can for flat fee of £12. TV/Wifi in rooms is excellent as was the ensuite bathroom, The fellow residents were very friendly too, big thumbs up!!

Excellent hotel, beautiful room in extension, food was superb and staff very nice especially the night porter. Always good have a great person to help in the late hours. Only problem is not having space in the restaurant for dinner on your 2nd night. Highly recommend this hotel but need to look at a dog friendly policy.

Great hotel, at affordable price. Good location for exploring dundee and Arbroth, and beeches between. Had great weather for september, but result was room was hot and stuffy due to lack of ventilation (at rear of hotel on ground floor, felt like a basement room! Room was very comfortable and spaceouse though.

Just returned from a very pleasant stay here with family. On our first night we ate in the restaurant and can only describe the experience as excellent. Food and service were outstanding. The outside space at the front of the hotel is great with a lovely view over the river Tay. You would need to be really fussy to fault this hotel. I also have to mention Tony the night porter for making our stay very memorable!! He was so friendly and helpful. The world needs more characters like him...we had such a laugh. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit to this hotel.

Me, my wife and our 1 year old have just returned from staying at the hotel over the weekend. We booked a family room which included breakfast on Booking.com and got a good deal. The only let down was that after requesting a downstairs floor room we weren't told this wasn't available until checking in. Still wasn't the end of the world it just meant we had to keep our pram in the car. The family rooms were a very nice size and the cot the hotel provided was decent. Daily fresh towels delivered to our door each day as well as tea and coffee items was the current set up with Covid restrictions in place and you could request your room cleaned and bed made if you liked by putting a card on the door handle. The only downside to the family rooms was that they were far too hot! Even with the windows wide open our room just wouldn't cool down. They had a small fan there but with the size of the rooms it didn't do much. Breakfast was lovely. A wide selection of items from hot and cold as well as coffee machine. We had to book in advance a time slot for the Saturday and Sunday as these were the busiest days of the week for the hotel but this wasn't a problem and meant that we didn't have to go without anything or deal with overcrowding. Overall a very relaxed experience. Parking at the hotel is good. Large car park at the back of the hotel. The only thing that could be improved would be adding a larger area at the reception entrance for loading / unloading luggage. As there is no lift in the hotel carrying multiple suitcases, baby items and shopping bags down after checking out wasn't the easiest of tasks and required multiple trips to and from the car park. All in all we as a family had a great time. The hotel is clean and the staff were great with our baby! We would definitely return if we visit Dundee again.

We visited this hotel and found it to be well worth the money. Despite being fully booked for a wedding the staff took the time to make us feel at home. The room was spotless and had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and at a time that suited us

My husband and I had a 2 night stay here. We had an Itison deal. So glad we chose here. Hotel was clean room was clean and comfortable. We had dinner on both nights. Could not fault it. Suzy and the restaurant staff were really helpful and nothing was a bother to them. Breakfast was buffet style but again enough to eat and an alright choice. They had scrambled eggs but I ask for a fried egg and not a problem. We actually had the same dinner both nights we enjoyed it that much. So thank you for a relaxing stay.

Hotel is lovely in a good location. Food was not as nice as it could have been so was a bit disappointed. To be honest think it was just a bad day I got them on as could not fault anything else. People around seemed to really like what they had so must have just been ours.

Set in nice grounds, but looking a bit dated inside, especially the bar/dining area, good views over the Tay from the tables in the garden/grounds outside the bar But to charge over £3 for a black currant & soda (really !!), Room was overpriced £100 ! Buffet breakfast was ok though,

Great location in Dundee for accessing local golf courses and places of interest. Restaurant meals good quality and value. Rooms adequate for a short stay clean and tea and coffee facilities provided. Large car park and very friendly staff.

This smart premises with outstanding garden and view offered excellent value for money and fine dining from a friendly staff. Do read about the history of the stately home at its heart and the redwood trees in the front.

We have visited the Invercarse Hotel many times and have never been disappointed. Food is exceptional, staff very helpful and bedroom was lovely. All covid precautions in place for an enjoyable stay. I am sure we will be back soon.

Nice food, clean rooms, staff where so friendly and helpful, i even left a top and called a week later to be told it was waiting for me, stayed here a few times for work I would recommend tho upstairs is a little more dated, downstairs was great. Thanks guys

We got a 2 night deal with Dinner on first night and Breakast over the 2 days,we slept in a King Room 220 with Patio Doors which was very spacious,huge TV also very clean,fresh towels,tea/coffee etc replenished daily and bin emptied,due to current restrictions these were left outside room,couldn't fault hard working staff servicing rooms.The food was exceptional in the evening and the breakfast was fantastic on both mornings,thank you Chef and Kitchen Staff,the Staff in all areas of the Hotel were cheerful,polite and professional so thank you. The Hotel is not far from Dundee City Centre and good to use as a base which we did for exploring places like Carnoustie,Arbroath or St Andrews etc. Would I use this Hotel again most definitely if ever in Dundee it was first class and great value for money.

14 field hockey teams from all over the UK and Ireland converged on Dundee last weekend. The Invercarse hosted a formal dinner and the entire hotel for that weekend was taken over by players, all over 60, and their partners. As the coordinator for the Hockey Tournament I have received over 200 excellent comments in whatsapp, facebook and by email about the staff, the facilities and the food. My partner and me also stayed there, our the room was spotless and welcoming while the aspect over the Tay River was fantastic. The bar had a good range of beers, lagers and spirits all reasonably priced. The closeness to both town and country was another 5 Star reason that we will be back.

I stayed here on a business trip. I have to say, I have never stayed in a hotel where everything seemed such an effort & the staff so miserable. The rooms were small and dated. I wouldn't choose to stay here again

We have just returned from a4 night stay at the Invercarse hotel. We booked an executive king room and it had an enormous bed and a lovely bathroom with excellent walk in shower. There was liquid soap at the basin and liquid body wash/shampoo in the shower but no conditioner instead of individual bottles. The room was not serviced during our stay due to COVID restrictions but there was a bag of fresh towels toilet roll and bag of tea/coffee making stuff outside our door every day. If we needed anything else we just had to ask at reception. The breakfasts were lovely giving you the choice of full Scottish breakfast or cereal , bread,croissants,fresh fruit or yogurts with individual pots of jam honey marmalade and lemon curd. The restaurant at lunch or dinner was excellent too. The fish and chips and steak pie being our favourite. The restaurant is open to the public too so gets booked up quickly I would suggest if you have a long journey getting here that you book your slot before arrival as we noticed one couple being disappointed at not being able to eat at the hotel when they arrived as it was fully booked but the food is so good that I am not surprised that it fills up quickly. The staff here are also very friendly and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely stay here again if we go back to Dundee. We booked a taxi to go into and back from Dundee it's self as it was easier for us than taking the car we noticed quite a few traffic wardens about it costs around £7/8 each way thanks again to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable

Upon arrival, the front desk receptionist was rude and unhelpful. Not exactly a pleasant welcome! Demanded payment up-front - this spiked my radar. Room was dated but clean enough. Noise was a serious problem. If you are a light sleeper look elsewhere. The breakfast was very good which was the reason I did not rate it as 1/5.

We had the pain of staying for one night in this dreadful hotel. The building is very run down (as most best westerns are) and in need of a total refurbishment. We checked into our cosy double, extremely small but the name suggests that so fine. About an hour in we are watching tv and this numatic drill sound starts, I think it could be a fire alarm so go down to reception and the ‘lady' says oh that's just the kitchen fans they stop at 9.30 at night (it was 4.30pm!!!) she continues sitting at the desk and on the computer like this isn't a problem. I then go in the bar and a much more hospitable member of staff goes to the room to see. In the meantime the hotel plumber goes into the room where my husband still is and says that there is a problem with the heating and shows him how to fiddle with the pipes if the numatic drill sound happens again!! We went out to eat dinner and didn't hear anything else from the heating. Went to bed and at 2am the drill sound happened again. Luckily hubby fiddled with the pipes as the plumber said! There's so many nicer hotels in Dundee to stay at. I don't feel this is acceptable, no discount or complimentary anything.

Just back from 2 night break. The hotel is lovely. Our room was great bathroom was amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There was a slight mistake with our bar bill someone had charged drinks to our room. Mentioned to reception staff and they very quickly sorted it out in no time. The hotel has lovely grounds and we managed to sit outside for a drink. My only small gripe they didn't have a great deal of choice of white wine. That is a personal choice for me but I wouldn't hesitate in staying again.

Just had a two night break. Hotel great all felt very safe and covid secure. Plenty sanitiser points, rooms had small packs with all tea coffee etc in sealed bags, as was the TV remote. Had drinks in bar again served at table by very friendly staff, ate in restaurant second night again all very safe and table service. Felt hotel was doing everything very well, until breakfast. On first morning a lot of people walking about in restaurant without masks on, and staff not reminding people to wear them. Everything was buffet so had to serve yourself tea/coffee, toast etc. Felt fairly unsafe yesterday, as we are all using the same tongs, opening the bread containers etc but this morning was really bad, at one point there were 5 people hanging around for the hot food, coffee machine is in the same area and you couldn't get to it because of the queue. Another couple of people standing waiting for toast, others squeezing past people to get cereal or jam, had to return to my table twice before eventually getting a coffee. Would be so much better if you could at least have table service for the tea coffee and toast. Again a number of people not wearing masks while getting their breakfast and nothing said. Was the most uncomfortable I have felt for some considerable time. Lovely hotel, great location, but would be very reluctant to go back or would avoid having breakfast if I returned in the future

Overall our stay at Invercarse Hotel was very enjoyable, accommodation, staff and amenities were of a high standard. Beautiful views over the River Tay. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family and will definitely make a return visit soon

I stay in Dundee on business a lot. This is my hotel of choice. Friendly staff , great price , good food , ( Hopefully coming out of lockdown, menu choice will increase) I was upgraded to family room. Very spacious, modern , massive bed. Fresh smelling. Plenty of sockets , USB ports , large tv Bathroom modern, power shower. The views are amazing . If you are traveling to Dundee, I would recommend this hotel. (It ticks all the boxes ) Great Breakfast Free parking Wifi Good evening meal ( I chose the fish platter) Friendly staff Good location. For the best deal call hotel direct .

In short the management & staff know how to care for guests. The hotel is spotless (a big plus) the staff make the hotel-attentive welcoming and from housekeeping to service, food etc this hotel is on the ball. Having searched hotels we had previously stayed at (well known 5 star in Ayrshire and Perthshire) we were disgruntled at the inflated prices all around the country with the exception of a few including Invercarse Hotel, well done. I hope if and when things resume to a “normal “ people will continue to give such businesses like this hotel their business

Another wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff are so friendly and approachable .....nothing too much trouble. Our room was very clean, comfortable and well stocked of teas/coffees etc. The Restaurant has breathtaking views of the beautiful hotel garden and the River Tay. The food is exceptional and there is a great variety offered on the menu. The cakes in the lounge were delicious too! Especially the carrot cake! The lounge/bar area is so relaxing and it's great to see the hotel supporting local Dundee breweries.... The Dundee gin was lovely! Love staying here and would not go anywhere else..... You can't improve perfection! Looking forward to our next visit already!! Thank you so much for everything.

We just spent 2 nights here, and had a lovely stay. Had dinner there on our first night and the food was good. Breakfast was nice. All friendly staff, lovely garden to enjoy a drink. Room was clean, with lovely shower. Only down side was our room was extremely warm, yes there was a fan in room, and windows opened, it is summer after all. We were on the first floor, facing a car park. Will be back! Thanks

Staff were very polite and approachable, dealt with any needs. Despite covid times it was a very enjoyable stay. Rooms were great especially my mum and dad disability room, which was great for them. The only nag was the 3 idiots that came to the bar on our last night, being rowdy and not wearing masks, where other guests were when needed. Otherwise very nice place to stay.

Stayed for one night on tour of Scotland, room was spacious, clean, modern and well equipped. Lovely beer garden at front of hotel with great views over river, great in June as stays light until 2230 hrs. Food in bar was excellent and staff were friendly, would definitely stay again!

We had 2 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable and clean and we were well looked after. Amenities pack was provided for tea and coffee and biscuits so we were looked after whilst adhering to covid processes. On the second day housekeeping left a bundle of fresh towels and tea and coffee making so we didn't go short of tea, a must have for me during any stay. Comfortable bed and windows that are easy to open, essential on warm nights. A lovely quiet hotel and we slept really well with no disturbances until the soft sound of the birds waking up in the morning..bliss. Plenty of hot water for showering. Good Wifi, well positioned TV. We didn't have time to try the restaurant this time as we were eating whilst out and about, but if love to cone back again and try dinner here. The feel of the hotel is of a welcoming country house but all modern comforts you'd expect. Friendly welcoming people on reception. Plenty of car parking. Felt very safe and comfortable.

Just returned after my second visit in the space of 4 weeks. The hotel is in a good location. We opted to leave the car at home but found the hotel easily accessible by public transport with regular buses stopping/picking up right outside. Top marks for cleanliness. Plenty of sanitiser points dotted around with remote controls and tea/coffee supplies being in cleared sealed bags. Food is tasty and plentiful and served piping hot. Plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Drink prices were very reasonable. If you can, get an upgrade. This time we were in Room 134 - generously proportioned with a massive bed that was so comfortable I thought I was sleeping on the biggest, fluffiest pillow. I cannot go without mentioning the staff. Super friendly and attentive without being in your face. No matter what time of day we interacted with them we were met with a cheery hello and smile. Ten out of ten!

I think the manager should review the law and what is an acceptable way to deal with paying customers. Are you running a hotel or prison? In our 3 night stay we was informed that we was not allowed to sit in the garden or even stand outside the hotel. We was told by your staff that we must go to our rooms or else our room would be cancelled. This is outrages and we will not be back to stay at your prison of which we paid to stay. Neither me or my partner was consuming anything from the bar just sitting on the grass in the garden. What has this world come to?? As grown adults we do not expect to be given a curfew for bedtime by your staff.

Just spent two nights at this hotel, can't fault it. Lovely surroundings, gardens and parking. Very clean, dining room has great view. Food , evening meals and breakfast spot on. Staff all very friendly and efficient. Would well recommend.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. The staff, especially the waiting staff were amazing. They were very attentive and nothing was a bother. The staff are an absolute credit to the hotel and should be credited for their professionalism in how they relate to customers. In rhe dinning area my wife and I were accommoded us in an area that suited my wife who is deaf. We didn't like the house wine as it was very spicy and we we were given a sample of other wines to chose from. The minute steak was amazing and I would highly recommend this. We upgraded our room and it was worthwhile. A visit to the Botanic Gardens, a few minutes walk from the hotel is recommended . If you want a few days of peace and quiet book this hotel as you will not be disappointed.

Just spent a lovely weekend here. Lovely hotel, lovely room, lovely staff, who are a real asset to the hotel. Special mention to Josh and Jack in the restaurant, very helpful and professional. However, all staff were great - night porter, reception, dining room, bar, room. Whoever looks after the garden deserves a medal too, it is beautiful! Felt very Covid-safe, plenty of sanitising visible. Plenty of dispensers available throughout hotel, cleaning of touch-spots, staff sanitising their hands. Ventilation spot on. Would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon. Thanks to everyone who made out stay memorable.

Warm welcome, lovely staff. Our room was immaculate and a good size, the large walk in shower was great and the complimentary refreshments pack really good. We ate there on the evening and the food was fantastic with excellent service.

Loved our stay. Staff so nice. Excellent food. Beautiful gardens to front with views to the river Tay. Loads of parking spaces. Our room was recently refurbished. Super king bed, sofa and walk in shower. Great comfy bed and nice linen/towels. Fan, hairdryer, iron, tea n coffee etc all supplied. Yes it's a couple of miles from the centre but it's a lovely walk in along the river. Hotel is round the corner from the Botanic Gardens which is a peaceful oasis to relax.

Loved the room and the facilities of the accessible room. The bed was so big I nearly needed my sat nav to find my way out of the bed! Having loads of sockets and USB ports especially next to the bed was fantastic. The parking was super handy too. Oh and I loved the HUGE TV! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and even upgraded me to an even posher room as there had been some kind of weird glitch due to covid lockdown and I had ended up with 2 rooms for 1 person but only paid for one.

Stayed here for a weekend visiting family. All staff were friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. Covid measures were strictly adhered to, so we felt very safe. Breakfast was amazing, well cooked and portions were large. Will definitely stay here again.

Stayed Friday to Sunday booked 7 rooms ,unfortunately they were spread all over hotel , When we found rooms they were perfect but just found going upstairs we young children a wee bit hard for the family room Friday night family went to restaurant and waited some time to be severed we had area to ourselves yet staff seem to take a while to actually take any orders , The Breakfast waitress really was a great ambassador to this hotel really helpful and found time to speak to to young kids WELL DONE HER she remember all the kids names and which family they belonged to ( for both days ) . We sat outside on Saturday again for some reason staff were to busy with other people to take any orders we had to ask a waiter for service , Again Saturday night same thing sat for 20 mins before any staff came to ask if we needed anything ..I understand it was busy but all customers should be treated the same. A bit more training for the staff needed on customer service. I will say once staff spoke to us they were brilliant and helpful There were a couple problems with Billing and Pricing ie near £30 for 12 sandwiches for kids (did get refund after complaining) I understand lots of places are trying there best now we open so accepted mistakes will happen And would I use this hotel again yes I would ..Could be done with a back door from carpark to help with unloading/loading of car (we stayed in room facing carpark so a bit of a trek to reception then all way back to other end of hotel . lacked a lift so taking buggy up and down stairs was a bit of a struggle. Overall a good hotel and would recommend the food was excellent

I have stayed at a Best Western in Newquay a few times around 9 years ago, it wasn't the best and did I confess put me off a little however so glad I booked this place. Beautiful hotel, clearly perfect for weddings, straight out of lockdown and very customer orientated, great views, my room was lovely and the food was great.

Here for a family Lunch recently. The Restaurant is a lovely relaxing space. The Staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. Would recommend highly to others.

Absolutely loved our stay in September. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff are wonderful and make you feel so welcome.They are always so friendly and polite. Accommodation is first class and the food served in the hotel restaurant is delicious. The views of the lovely hotel gardens and River Tay from the hotel restaurant are breathtaking. We would not stay anywhere else in Dundee... Nothing could match this hidden gem.

Booked 2 nights to fit in visit to V&A and to meet up with family. Invercarse Hotel was an excellent choice. Staff very helpful, rooms excellent, value great and given covid restrictions restaurant food very good. Botanic gardens are a must.

I always stay here when in Dundee. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice with the King size room having an attractive rate compared to some others in the area. The closest one to Ninewells Hospital. Restaurant has nice views over the river and the food is always extremely tasty.

Excellent stay at Best Western Invercarse location excellent easy to get into town with plenty of parking. Fabulous views from restaurant and all staff really friendly and attentive. Breakfast varied and plentiful and really tasty. Room was serviced as required great facilities and hot water morning or night. Fabulous stay in a lovely city.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and hearty. Dinners, though on reduced Covid menu, were excellent and plenty to choose from. Room very clean and comfortable.

We stayed here from 8-10 October with our six month old son and it was a very enjoyable hassle free stay. Prior to arrival we emailed to enquire if we could have a travel cot and room with lots additional space given the copious volumes of items needed for a baby and they arranged this for us no bother. We were even offered the option to upgrade to a king size suite for a small charge which we took full advantage of - the room was beautiful and the bathroom simple outstanding. During our stay we never heard another guest so noise is defo kept to a minimum. Covid measures are too notch throughout the hotel eg towels are left in sealed bags outside your room, the remote control in in a sanitised bag and not to be removed , tea and coffee refills are in bags etc. Masks are worn by staff . We felt very safe during our stay. Overall we would stay again. The only criticism we had was that there wasn't a lift (abs we hadn't read that in the policy) and we weren't offered assistance with our luggage. Otherwise cannot fault this hotel and will defo be back

Friendly, efficient service, lovely room, excellent value. Food in the restaurant was delicious and service excellent. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't partake. Checkout was fast and efficient.

Stayed due to a business trip at Nine Wells and was offered the best room in the house. Room service was quick and food delicious. Breakfast was fantastic and the view was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

We stayed for one night only but were very impressed. We had a fully accessible room with its own parking space for disabled badge holders. The bathroom was fully accessible, with full wetroom. There was ample space in both the bathroom and bedroom for manoeuvring a wheelchair. There was also an adjoining bedroom for other family/carers, if necessary. The restaurant was busy but staff were incredibly efficient and helpful. The food was really good. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Our visit with friends to Dundee was enhanced by staying at this hotel. It is situated in a really good position on the outskirts of Dundee with plenty of parking. The executive rooms were good in size with everything we needed. The hotel staff were brilliant and the food, particularly in the evening was of a very high standard. The bar was friendly with a good atmosphere. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for 7 nights and advised that we had been upgraded to a hug e room in the new section of the hotel at the back. Excellent location, friendly staff and good food. The evening menu was limited so we tried out almost all the dishes in the 6 evenings we eat at the hotel. All main dishes were very good. We had the added bonus of 25% off evening meals from Sunday to Thursday. Had a couple of minor hiccups at breakfast with cooked food arriving before the cereal but the errors were managed ok each time and fresh food brought out later, at the correct time. Housekeeping didn't enter guest rooms whilst we were there but always asked if you wanted anything and left wrapped bundle of clean towels and bag of tea, coffee, biscuits etc each day if required. We witnessed the full airing of vacated rooms and cleaning process between guests departure and arrival. It all made us feel very safe in the current climate.

Just back from a one night stay, DBB with tea or coffee on arrival which turned out to be excellent value. Staff were all great, without exception, all helpful, friendly and efficient. Upgraded to a king size room, which was large and comfortable, bed and pillows were sublime and shower was superb. Food was first class, well prepared, presented and of a high standard. Add the best pint of McEwans 70 shilling i've had in many a day, this topped off a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay. Will definately be back.

Just back from an overnight stay for my birthday. What a great stay from start to finish. Got our room upgraded which was lovely. The girl at reception was so friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was delicious and again the staff in the restaurant were lovely. High standard of cleanliness throughout. Enjoyed it so much we have rebooked for October. We stayed here for the weekend just recently with two other couples. What a fantastic weekend! if you do nothing else when you are here, make sure you have the food in the restaurant. Second to none, fresh, deliciously tasty and no scrimping on your plate. the rooms were beautifully clean with fresh towels and a new coffee and tea'bag' left outside your room every day. The beds are very comfy and there are more pillows in the wardrobe should you need them. The bathroom is huge with a decent shower. Ours was over the bath but another of our friends had a huge walk in shower. Hand soap and shower gel are on the wall If I had one comment it would be say that the hotel seemed to be under staffed, especially at the bar. They ask that they come to your table and take your orders if you are outside on the terrace but in fact, nobody comes out to the terrace to make sure that there are no more drinks required. We were there for the afternoon and had to keep going inside to get service although the barman knew we were there! in all fairness he seemed to be on his own so... other than that, we had no other problems or faults. Staff to look out for are Derek who works at the breakfast time, seemingly does lunch as well, looks after the bar and was there to do evening meals as well. Susie the restaurant supervisor is a force to be reckoned with. Great humour matched with excellent service from her and her staff. Poor Josh was the one that was left with us at the dining table after our meal on the last night. He worked really hard the guy to keep us watered as much as he could. All in all an excellent stay and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody in the future. one word of warning, if you are planning to walk into Dundee centre from the hotel, it's three miles there....and three miles back! Just a short walk from the hotel is the Botanic Garden and just 100 steps after that is a fab little restaurant called The Riverside. Again great food with great service, situated adjacent to the airport literally next to the runway where you can watch the planes landing and taking off.

Stayed here for one night. Professional staff who were helpful and attentive. Room was spacious and bed so comfortable. Bathroom huge! We decided to eat here and thank good we did. Food is outstanding, some of the best I've ever eaten. I didn't want the goats cheese starter to finish. Your chefs are fabulous and on par with top restaurants. Unfortunately the cold water in shower/ bath was not working well and the room was next to the kitchen extraction fan which we could here. However these didn't distract from our stay. I mentioned it when checking out to receptionist and she adjusted our bill accordingly so thank you. Area is nice for walks but it's quite a long walk into Dundee from hotel (3 miles) so probably better to drive in

We have just returned home from this hotel and had stayed 2 nights D.B&B on 8th & 9th Sept. room 109. This was our first break away this year due to the pandemic and my wife and I were apprehensive. We chose this hotel as it is in a scenic location and the reviews were good. Its an ideal location for touring the east coast of Fife and Angus. The room was comfortable and sleep quality was good . The restaurant staff wore face masks in the dining area The food was very good; the first night we opted for the prawn cocktail starter followed by the fish platters. The second night again prawn cocktail for starters, my wife having the burger and salad whilst i had and would recommend the steak stew with veg and chips. Both nights we had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Breakfasts were served from 7am with table service, having the choice of full Scottish breakfast AND or continental. You really can ask for as much as you like, so for the benefit of the big eaters it is as good as a buffet. Suzy served us for both evening meals and was helpful, welcoming and very informative She reinforced the need to book a table early , thanks again. Fraser seved both breakfasts and nothing was a problem for him, even when I asked for more toast and an extra sausage. Both staff are a credit to the hotel. When checking out we had a minor issue with the bill which was speedily and efficiently resolved by the hotel owner and had possibly been a misunderstanding. All in all we had a pleasant and memorable stay in this hotel and I would recommend it

A lovely quiet hotel in a great location. Rooms are very comfortable and exceptionally clean. What I really like is the lighting. I've stayed at so many hotels that are so dimly lit that I don't know if the light is on or off ! But not at the Invercarse. Lamps for soft light and a good bright ceiling light. Perfect. The food here is delicious and there's a lovely view from the large restaurant windows. Staff always make you feel welcome and are friendly and helpful. A special mention to the waiters/ waitresses for doing such a wonderful job and still managing a smile behind their masks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return. Thank you Best Western and the staff at Invercarse Hotel.

My family and I recently stayed at the hotel. The staff were very professional dealing with the current situation we find ourselves in. You could see they had thought of everything. The staff were really friendly, particularly the woman with the short red hair and glasses, (I think her name might be Michelle) who was great with my kids. She really made the effort to listen to my 2 year old talk about pirate ships when she could have easily left. The family room was huge and perfect for a family with small children. We decided to have dinner at the hotel but didn't have a reservation. The staff were really accomodating at let us eat our meal in the lounge. Sadly the meal was very poor. My steak gave me a proper work out to cut and the chips weren't cooked correctly. My daughter's chicken goujons were inedible and were rock solid. We gave her my wife's side of Mac and cheese so she didn't go hungry. I'm not one for complaining as I know staff are working hard but had to mention my daughter's dinner. The waitress took it away and took her meal cost off the bill. However when I paid the bill in the morning it was included and so was the 25% the was supppse to be off l. I hadn't noticed until my wife mentioned the difference in prices when we were in the car. It was too late to go back but could have been an honest mistake. I don't want to end on a bad note so would like to mention how good the breakfast was!

Hotel was lovely great view food and service was excellent staff very friendly bed was comfortable room was clean tidy and enough for our needs.plenty of hand sanitizers all throughout the hotel would recommend

Stayed here for my partners 50th Birthday wanted a wee break away not far from home We had a great time Room was large and clean ,Hotel well kept and tables and public areas cleaned regularly Breakfast was great very good quality and you can have full cooked breakfast or Continental or both if you like Restaurant was great too ww ate here twice and food was great on both occasions as was the service (special mention to Suzy in restraint always had time to make you feel welcome and have a wee socially distanced chat all staff at hotel very professional and welcoming though All in all a very pleasant and comfortable experience given current Covid times Would definitely use again in future

Every member of staff we met was so friendly from reception, to restaurant to the cleaning staff respectfully stepping aside in the corridors. COVID measures all in place. Our room was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was gigantic! Sadly the bathroom was rather tired and the extractor fan was very noisy. Excellent value for money.

I don't know where to start. My stay was super enjoyable, staff extremely helpful. The hotel is conveniently located close to the city centre, has got a large and very secure parking. The hotel benefits from fantastic views from the dining/bar area. My room was quite spacious and very clean. The hotel managed the covid guidelines extremely well, everything was sanitised and super clean. I ate in the restaurant twice and food was delicious and home cooked. Restaurant staff was very friendly and tried to do everything possible to accommodate all my requests. I cannot wait to get back in October. This hotel is an example of how well some businesses deal with the current difficult situation. It was a pleasure to stay and I look forward to come back.

Easy to find, good location. Big free car park behind hotel. Friendly staff at reception with prior check-in option via internet in Covid times. Small double room felt spacious (compared to London hotels..). Did not use bar or restaurant but it was well frequented by other guests. Internet a bit flaky. Overall a positive experience.

Excellent Seafood platter today. Very fresh and a excellent lunch. Greeted at the door by the friendly Nadine. All staff were excellent, place was busy. Will definitely be back. Coffee was lovely to and piping hot. You can't go wrong.

Headed south from the Moray area and decided to stay another night on our road trip. Booked via Booking.Com and managed to get a family room. Hubby and 4, 1/2 yr old granddaughter promptly dealt with by staff and allocated room 222. Room was huge with a extra king size double bed, a fold down futon bed and a walk-in shower room. Massive tv, ironing board and tea/coffee making tray. Our room was so comfy and spacious and very freshly decorated. We decided to book a meal for 7pm. We were shown to a window table overlooking the front gardens and views out to the River Tay. The lady who attended us was so friendly and helpful assisting us with things to do and attractions in town. Hubby had the fish/scampi combo, granddaughter had fish gougons/skinny chips and peas and i went for beef casserole. The food was stunning and large portions and great value for money. The hotel was very clean and obviously one highly used for functions and weddings. The front garden is surrounded by very impressive mature fir trees and has outdoor tables and chairs. Definetely a hotel to return to in the future and recommend a visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights B&B with my husband, brother and sister in law. We also ended up booking dinner in the restaurant both nights. The hotel is lovely and clean and situated on beautiful grounds. The food was amazing. Last but not least the staff were pleasant, cheery and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to be back again Lesley Johnston

I love Best Westerns. For a start they always have the best staircases. The room was spot on, especially the tea/coffee/biscuits. The customer service was excellent and the breakfast was phenomenal (and so it should be for twelve quid). I'm vegetarian and asked for a veggie breakfast, they gave me everything including 3 veggie sausages and some flat potato thingies which I think are a Scottish speciality. It was a brisk 3 mile walk into Dundee which I consider to be a perfect location for walking into the centre. It's on a lovely road and admiring all the gorgeous houses we could never afford in a month of Sundays kept us occupied on the walk in to town.

An excellent hotel that I would highly recommend. Lovely staff, fantastic room with a fabulous walk in shower. Great location and great value for money. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant and I couldn't fault anything.

A fantastic quiet location with great access to the city. Lovely rooms and very welcoming and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff made the experience so much more fun. I will definitely be back

Really good location. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean, rooms are big and the bed was really comfy. Food is good, portions are generous, but don't eat too much dinner because breakfast is huge! Next time I'm in Dundee, I'll stay here again. Well done all.

Stayed on 17/07/20 amidst this pandemic, hotel well set up to ensure compliance and staff very well versed and really pleasant throughout our stay, really friendly and helpful from start to finish. Hotel could maybe be described as dated but from what we saw spotlessly clean as was the room. We stayed on a DBB deal and the highlight was easily the dinner. Best lentil and ham soup I've ever tasted which was perfectly seasoned followed by a superb curry and my partner had macaroni cheese, all clearly home made and nit just thrown in a microwave, we were really impressed. Breakfast was also fine but not a patch on dinner. Nice hotel and setting and would certainly recommend.

Me and my husband attended a wedding in the Invercarse hotel in Dundee. We stayed on the Friday and Saturday night. I had booked a double room but was surprised and delighted, when we checked in, to be informed that we had been upgraded to a super king room at no extra cost......bonus. We had a meal in the restaurant on the Friday night which was lovey. The service was excellent. At the wedding the staff were all so helpful and very attentive to all the guests. The meal was served with great efficiency and professionalism and was delicious. Nothing was any bother for the staff. They are a credit to the hotel. We'd be happy to stay there again or be lucky to attend another wedding there. Keep up the good work guys.

Stayed here for one night & was very impressed. King room was well appointed with very comfortable bed, large tv, tea & coffee making facilities & good bathroom with shower. Dinner was very good, reasonable menu & prices. Recommend seafood platter. Not many people in & that may have been reason dining room wasn't overly warm. Nice comfy seat bar area too. Breakfast was buffet but was good choice. Staff very friendly, good parking & not too far in car from City Centre.

Friendly staff. Visited for a funeral tea. In a nice spacious upstairs room. Very Nice spread,of sandwiches albeit starting to dry out (put out to early) tasty sausage rolls, and varirty of cakes, good service from young staff, plenty tea and coffee.

Only stayed for the one night, but was very impressed. Reasonably priced stay, pleasant staff, very nice bed and a great breakfast. About a 10 second drive from Dundee airport, but still very quiet location. About a 5 minute drive from city centre. Stayed on business, but would definitely recommend!

We stayed as a family of 4 for one night. We had a family room which was lovely and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and the buffet breakfast was very enjoyable. If I visit Dundee again I will definitely be booking this hotel.

Last minute booking that was In our price range. Was pleasantly surprised when we drove up to the entrance. It looked amazing. The girl on reception was lovely and greeted us with a smile which is always a good thing. Within minutes we had our room card. We were upgraded on our stay. Not sure what the upgrade was but the bed was huge and was very comfy. The room was nice and clean with plenty space. The shower was very good with good pressure. Free WiFi in the hotel but couldn't get the smart tv to connect which wasn't too much of a problem as the normal channels worked perfectly. Plenty space for our clothes too which is fab! We didn't have food when we stayed but the restaurant was full at night and the food smelt amazing. We had a bit of a problem with our payment due to no confirmation through the company we booked through so ended up paying at the hotel too. I realised this in the morning and a quick email to the hotel and about 20 mins later the hotel had the duplicate payment sent back to my credit card We will definitely be back soon as we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.

We booked the Invercarse whilst en-route to Dundee as we didn't want to leave it to the last minute and try to find somewhere in the dark! I must admit I was a little concerned as we made our way to our room as the decor and carpets in the corridors are a little dated so my expectations were pretty low but our room was excellent. We had a seating area with sofa and table so were able to relax in comfort. The highlight though was undoubtedly the bathroom with a beautiful slipper bath, twin wash basins and an excellent large walk-in shower. Breakfast is usually self-service, buffet style but as the hotel was quiet, the food was cooked to order so everything was really fresh. There is a good range of food available on the breakfast menu and our waitress couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we would definitely stay again.

Really pleasant restaurant where we went to meet with some friends who stay in Dundee. Good value and food was very tasty. Easy access as all on one level. Although also catering for a wedding and party no delay in service.

Definitely recommend staying. View from the restaurant is amazing. Staff really friendly, smiley and chatty without being overbearing. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Room was clean and very comfortable.

The Invercarse is a lovely hotel in its own grounds just outside of the city centre. It is well located for the Botanic Gardens, Ninewells Hospital, the airport and the University. There is a frequent bus service into the city centre, with a bus stop just outside of the grounds. Rooms in the newer extension are spacious and well laid out. Beds are extremely comfortable and the shower rooms are of a high spec. Breakfast offers a good choice with fresh fruit, the usual cooked breakfast offerings and lovely pastries. Staff are friendly and efficient. And to add to all of this the prices are usually some of the cheapest in town. Excellent value for money.

Great warm welcome from receptionist. All staff very welcoming and couldnt do enough to ensure stay was enjoyed. Had a slight problem with the plug in the bathroom sink but was rectified within an hour of reporting the issue. Very clean, one of the top 2 Best Western Hotels I have staying in (and I stay in alot of hotels.

Lovely hotel! Room (standard with queen bed) was spacious and clean and breakfast was amazing with many different hot and cold items to choose from. View from restaurant over River Tay is beautiful. This hotel is not in the city centre but does offer free parking and is only a 5 minute drive away.

Room was nice, not huge but everything you need, well decorated, comfortable and clean. We were put in a room right above the function suite, horrendous noise way into the night. Shouting, laughing, dogs barking, loud conversations, people out smoking, car doors slamming etc. I assumed we would not be unlucky enough for it to happen twice in a row, I was wrong, same again the next night with no useful input from staff to stop the noise upsetting hotel guests. As a result we did not get much sleep for the first two nights of our three night stay. I complained on the next morning and we were eventually moved to a room away from the noise, the room was spacious but we had the inconvenience of packing up and unpacking again. Staff moved our things to the second room but when leaving I discovered one of my tops had been thrown up right on top of the wardrobe, we almost did. It notice it was there, obviously not put there by me! I was not given any explanation for this. When I asked about compensation for two disturbed nights and inconvenience of moving I was told the second room was more expensive and if we had eaten in the restaurant again we would have got a discount, but we were not even told about this, just if we had we would have been told when we left. (we had already eaten there on the first night and had a restaurant prebooked for the second night). I contacted management but was not given any remotely suitable response. The meal on the first night was ok, rather expensive for what we had and fish and chips was very greasy. Breakfast was nice.

We were there for a family wedding, rooms were excellent, we had a quad room, huge room with equally large bathroom, very clean, comfortable and definitely recommended, would not hesitate to stay here again

Easy to find and set in a lovely location,with plenty of parking. Nice friendly greeting, room lovely and warm with everything i needed. Downstairs bar with relaxing seating area. Restaurant staff very pleasant, choice of food adequate and cooked to my liking. Good choice of breakfast, although I do find the self selection cooked breakfast is never very hot wherever you go. A pleasant stay, clear rooms and helpful staff.

Stayed there with the wife to visit her friends and family while we were in Scotland. Have to say it was a great hotel, ideal for what we wanted. Room was spotlessly clean, all staff was very friendly. We never used the restaurant or bar, so we can't comment on that. We will stay there again the next time we visit that area, and would recommend it.

Great location, views across river Tay in restaurant. Ample parking. Cosy bar area and food was good. Good choice of items for breakfast. Bedroom roomy and facilities good. Staff friendly and helpful. Only downside is steps up to bedrooms each floor. Made lifting heavy suitcase a problem but not too bad.

I usually have an aversion to chains so tend to stay in boutique hotels. However, I chose this one for the views and the proximity to the bridge. And it delivered. Once on the lawn, you are met with a stunning expanse of water. The room was large. They had thought about every need you might have overnight and it was available. None of it felt penny pinching. I loved the way the iron slotted into position on the ironing board so there was no danger of burning the board. The shower was powerful. The beds large and comfortable. I think they should provide toilet brushes. The distance between from reception to the rooms was excessive. As a family with cardiac conditions having to carry bags up several short flights of stairs was tiring.

Stayed here on a Friday night, there was a wedding on and you wouldn't have noticed - no noise or slow service. Hotel is fantastic, rooms are great and the beds are extra soft. Also had dinner which was excellent but as they were large portions I was unable to eat it all. Breakfast is a buffet with great selections of both hot and cold dishes. Definitely will be staying here again. Special thanks has to go to Derek Mcartney he was fantastic and sorted the problem with our sink, he reset our room, cleaned up and came to the restaurant to tell what he had done. He certainly deserves recognition for going above and beyond.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, the staff were very friendly and you can have a bit of banter with them. The starter was a little late for one of our group and they did not charge us for it. I would highly recommend it, food beautiful, great ambiance and a lovely spot, go there guys you won't regret it !!

My friends and I were in Dundee last week for a few days and went to the invercarse hotel for a meal, we had an amazing meal it was that good we decided to go back the following night and once again another lovely meal. We will be returning when we go back to dundee

Stayed at this hotel over nihhtvand couldn't fault any part of our stay there. The staff were all friendly, polite and very professional and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely use this hotel and Best Westren in the future.

Excellent restaurant and a lovely well presented lunch.The Prawn starter was delicious, served with Avacado toast and a deep fried, panko crumbed King prawn topping. Beautiful view over the garden grounds towards the Tay from our table. We were impressed by the spotless condition of maintenance throughout.

Stayed here for 1 night as husband had a Veterans Dinner ..I just had a relaxing night in this beautiful hotel ...would highly recommend it .. staff were very friendly and rooms just what you expect from a Best Western ....

Just had a lovely meal at the Invercarse Hotel. Service was excellent food amazing. I had the kedgeree and my husband had the macaroni both very tasty and excellent. Suzy was very attentive as were all the restaurant and bar staff. Keep up the good work.

stayed here for three nights to explore Dundee . The hotel was comfortable with a lovely view over the Tay . The staff were fantastic ,smiles all the time and nothing any trouble , full marks to them all !

On the western outskirts of Dundee, Invercarse is free of most of the constraints of city centre hotels. Quiet, ease of parking, great outlook, well signed from main approach roads. Rooms are well appointed. Meals were of high quality. A good deal all round with sensible room rate including breakfast.

Clean well equipped hotel with lovely staff and a magnificent view from the restaurant/bar. The only issue I had was fairly pitiful wifi, nowhere near strong enough to stream the football. The botanic Gardens nearby are lovely with friendly knowledgeable staff and a lovely cafe.

We have never felt the need to review a hotel however after visiting this hotel, EVERYONE, needs to be warned of how deceiving the photographer is. The first impression at the hotel was spoiled by the extremely rude reception staff, the very fact we had arrived to check in was evidently a massive inconvenience to the lady (Jennifer) who huffed and puffed and banged about. We had been planning on dining at the hotel however unless we were able to decide at check in what time we would have preferred then it was ‘very unlikely we would be served'. I have never encountered anyone like this and was amazed to see another customer receiving the very same treatment later that night. We had stayed in what appeared to be a fairly new room however the cleanliness was appalling, dusty with evidence of previous guests plus a very unusual smell as we first entered the room. Who ever is in charge of housekeeping needs a short sharp shock! We were fortunate to know friends locally who picked us up and we were able to dine at another hotel in the city which was great. Breakfast the following morning had a good selection, again however, it was staff that fails this hotel, the manager (short stout man with a beard-no name badge) looked as though he had just rolled out of bed and after overhearing guests behind us discuss what they smelled as cannabis smells - it was unbelievable to learn it was from that one particular member of the team! What a fantastic example to set for the staff. Needless to say, we wouldn't return.

Visited for three nights and had an enjoyable stay. Weekend of the Solheim Cup making it a busy but interesting place to stay. Great room with plenty of space, ideal location, on bus route to city centre, walked from hotel into city at the side of the river which was lovely. Would recommend, would visit again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Taxi service very effrcient and easy to book. Bar area could do with more soft seating, although tables in the dining area could be used later in the evening.

We were both very pleaed with the hotel facilities. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts could not have been better. The roomss were very good although Executive King Rooms were tight for space especially if you were staying more than 2 nights

Stayed for 5 nights. Room was huge and absolutely spotless, kept that way by housekeeping daily. Breakfast was very good with wide choice of cooked and continental dishes. Staff in all areas were friendly, welcoming and helpful at all times. Dinner was enjoyable, service extremely good. There was a bit of a walk to the room with a few steps to negotiate but room was at end of building and therefore very quiet once there. Handy regular bus service from bottom of drive took us everywhere we wanted to go o able to leave car in free Car Park at Hotel. Would be happy to stay here again, super view from garden and dining room.

Big thank you to Martina and the team who helped make my parents anniversary party run like clock-work. Food and service superb, so compliments also to the chef and kitchen staff for this. Also not forgetting the lovely breakfast next morning as a number of guests attending the party stayed the night and were complimentary about the breakfast too.

We enjoyed our stay at the Invercarse Hotel, Its in a good quiet location on the University side of the city, with a lovely view over the Tay. Comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and a really good breakfast to start the day.

Another great trip to the Invercarse. We had a family room which was spacious and met our needs perfectly. The rooms in the extension really hold the heat so the addition of a fan in the room was very much welcomed. We have visited the Invercarse 3 years running and eaten in their restaurant at least once on each occasion. It has yet to disappoint, fine dining it is not but you will get a thoroughly enjoyable meal at a reasonable price. If you want a hotel with 5* facilities and rooms book somewhere else. If however you want a very pleasant hotel close to Dundee but away from the hustle and bustle, with a gorgeous view, lovely staff and very competitively priced the Invercarse may well be for you. I know something for sure, we'll be back!

The hotel has great facilities in the room with a great wet room. And the beds are low and comfortable. All great things that have meant i keep coming back as it is a well priced and fantastic hotel. The rooms have direct access to the car park so you don't need to via the hotel. Only problem is that I need to go out of the hotel round the outside regardless of weather ad then back into the hotel as there are 3 sets of stairs inside the hotel and when you re in a wheelchair it is impossible to go that way. The hotel is on a hill so i understand that its built that way. As a really well priced stay and great staff i wil be back.

Our room was a little small but comfortable and was cleaned daily, it was warm but on request a fan was provided together with ear plugs !!! Staff were extremely helpful at all times during our stay, quality of the food was very good considering it was an inclusive menu catering for 34 people of varying ages.

Beautiful hotel both inside and out. Bed was extremely comfortable and room spacious. Everything was spotless clean throughout hotel. Great menu. Friendly helpful staff. So close to Ninewells hospital which was what I needed. Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights on a tour. I can not fault the staff as they were all very polite and helpful, well most a couple did not seem to know what was going on. The food for the tour was not good, very cheaply done, breakfast was good, so maybe the food you pay for in the restaurant was better, I wouldn't know. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the cleaners are in every day, I found the beds comfortable, but the ground rooms are so noisy, the corridor floorboards are really loud when people walk on them it sounds like they are in your room and the car park/ballroom at the side of the rooms are also very loud, car doors slamming at night and in the morning. The Hotel is a bit far out too, not a 10 minute walk as suggested into town, more like a 40 minute walk if not more. I don't know how much the room cost as it was included in the tour price, so I can't judge if it was value for money or not, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again.More

We stayed here for 1 night and were very impressed with the size of the rooms, the decoration, the setting, everything. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable and modern. Fans were provided in the rooms without having to request one (quite a feat given the size of the hotel!). We had 2 rooms, which were not exactly close to each other, but the kids loved running between the 2 rooms so it was more of a plus than a downside.

Very happy with lovely pre-booked disable access room which was large and well appointed. Good value for money. We were able to park directly outside the room and enter via the patio doors which was very useful. The room was quite warm but a fan was present on the desk. We had a meal in the restaurant on one night and the food was very good although the restaurant and bar is a bit pricey. Lovely views of the river Tay and the staff were very friendly. Taxis were provided for us and the staff seemed genuinely interested in what their guests were doing around the area.We did not have breakfast there. We have stayed once before and the experience was similar .

Great option for the area, good views. WiFi a little temperamental. From was spacious and warm just a little dated. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner was fantastic both nights and breakfast was faultless. Would definitely stay again.

Came to see my sister and stayed at the invercarse (it has been at least 20 years since I last stayed there. restaurant excellent, only issue was water in the cold tap in the room was warm therefore =undrinkable so used bottled water

I visited this hotel for 2 nights while in the area on business. The hotel is fairly dated but clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and come with all the usual facilities (iron, kettle etc) The restaurant and bar area are bright airy and modern in parts. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for a hotel. I would not hesitate to stay here again when in the area.

The hotel is in a good location and the staff where friendly and helpful at reception and during my stay. The room was well equipped and clean with a good walk-in shower. The food was good in the restaurant on all 3 days that I stayed. The breakfast was good but I was a bit disappointed by the lack of muesli and bran. The hotel was good value and I would definitely stay here again if i have to visit Dundee again.

We stayed here for 2 nights 14th and 15th July. We have stayed here on quite a few occasions and as usual we have not been let down. The hotel is very clean and tidy rooms very comfortable and all staff very friendly and helpful. Food and service excellent. Would highly recommend

Lovely location with plenty parking for our party of 30 yesterday. Having never visited the hotel before we were very impressed. Very well organised with attentive friendly staff, would certainly recommend.

I was saying here as I was attending a course. The hotel were fabulous with friendly staff who were more than happy to respond to our requests due to the very warm weather. We appreciated the fan in the room and the windows being opened prior to our arrival. The beds are very comfortable and the desk area is great for working on a laptop, and the seating area for reading. The location is fabulous, nice and quiet but located close to local amenities like the V&A museum and also close to St Andrews. The course I attended also had great catering and a large room. We really like staying at Best Western hotels and will hopefully make a return trip to Invercarse in the near future as we really enjoyed visiting Dundee itself. Thank you!

Everything about this hotel and my stay there was impeccable, from signing in to signing out, the decor was tastefull, I especially liked the fully disabled bathroom faciities and designated parking space

Overnight stay could not book in until 14.00. Hotel has 68 rooms lounge area can accommodate around 20 which if busy you could not get a seat. Dinner was less than agreeable with mainly fish,only a minute steak or a roast dinner not much of a selection we were upgraded but you had a long walk to your room. Breakfast was good and the waiter Jenaro was excellent as was the barman Fraser. Tommy was spacious but very warm and windows only opened slightly so quite stuffy.views were very good from ding area. Photo of ashtray because the breakfast waitress gave me it and then Jenaro changed it immediately he saw it.

I always start my hotel reviews with these two thoughts....one - if you want all of the creature comforts you have at home, perhaps you should stay home and two - you should always treat people the way you wish to be treated. We stayed four nights at the Invercarse Hotel with a small tour group. We had two adjoining rooms which we shared with our teenage boys. The hotel was comfortable and clean and we felt very safe. I include this last part if you are considering staying here on your own. We had a ground floor room and there were two or three steps that went up after each set of rooms as the hotel is built on a hill. There are handicapped accessible rooms, which my parents had. They had a glass door that opened up onto the parking lot near the handicapped parking spot, so if you had mobility issues, you could enter your room straight from the parking lot and also use this as a route to get to the lobby without maneuvering the stairs. They had a lovely walk in shower as well. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of room to relax. Of course, the Scottish shortbread with the tea service were delicious. We had a lovely walk in shower that was the best shower of all of the hotels on this tour! The hotel was located for great day trips out to see Dundee, St. Andrews, Queen's View, Killicrankie Pass, etc. Food: Food is always hit or miss with people, but again, if you want food as you would cook at home...well...then.... As a group, we had a set three course menu with several options to choose from. Meals were set up with the main dish and breakfast as a buffet which has a lot of pros for folks. The desserts were fantastic and their sticky toffee pudding delicious. Staff: You couldn't find more accommodating staff. The folks at the front desk were pleasant every time we went through the lobby and offering directions to find the nearest convenience store. Although, I told them their idea of a wee walk, and my idea of a wee walk were perhaps two different things, but then again, I had just traveled in from the US and my legs were tired. However, the walk justified my dessert for the evening. The hotel manager Scott and the restaurant manager Peter were so helpful and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. I would stay at the Invercarse hotel again and I would highly recommend them to other travelers.

My travel group spent 2 nights at this hotel because Edinburgh hotels were full due to the Spice Girls concert. Since it is 90 minutes from Edinburgh, this is not a hotel I would have chosen. However, my room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom sparkled. The food was good, the staff were nice, and the bar stocked some serviceable single malts. Breakfast featured a number of tasty choices and had good views to the nearby river. Warning, this hotel has only the most basic handicap accessibility features - a ramp at the door, one handicap toilet, and an elevator. Rooms in my wing featured several sets of 2-3 steps in the long hallway. Had I been in this hotel with a friend who uses a wheelchair he/she wouldn't have been able to get to my room.

Food was awful we were served lukewarm coffee and tea Fish and chips had 12 frozen french fries and half a cheap frozen fish Very cheap frozen food served cakes were awful too for a high tea i have allergy to chocolate i asked for chocolate free cake to be told there was none left I left hotel very hungry as did a few other ladies. It was like a toddlers meal

A girlfriend and I stayed one night at this hotel and we enjoyed our short stay from start to finish. Easy to find and easy to park followed by a warm, genuinely friendly greeting from Sarah on the Reception desk allowed us to relax from the off. Our room was clean, tidy, functional but certainly met our needs and had both a bath and shower ( increasingly rare these days ). The only downside was the lack of a lift, which to be honest I would have expected in a hotel of this size and standard. The bar and dining room are housed in a large light and airy conservatory affording pleasant views from it's raised position of the River Tay and beyond. The dinner menu was interesting and varied and had good options for my friend, who is coeliac. The food was well cooked and presented. After a good night's sleep the comprehensive breakfast buffet set us up for the day. Check out was quick and easy and we were allowed to leave our car on the car park for most of the day, whilst we explored Dundee before leaving for home. I am well travelled and stayed in hundreds of hotels and I have to say that I received far worse hospitality in many more expensive hotels than the Invercarse. Highly recommended, unless you need a lift !

Pleasant stay in this hotel on the outskirts of Dundee. Accommodation was very comfortable and welcoming after a cold and wet day on the golf course at Monifieth. Room was warm and managed to dry our wet golf gear. Evening meal was good with plenty of choices and reasonable prices. Refreshments were also good, enjoyed the cold Guinness and plenty Gins to choose from. Breakfast was buffet style and very good. Bed was firm and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and will probably return next year.

As we were cruising from Dundee we always stay in the Invercarse Hotel. We are vey happy with the service we get from all the staff. Everyone is very pleasant and helpful. Room was very comfortable. Receptionist couldn't be more helpful when we asked her to book a taxi to take us to the docks, and she wouldn't let us pay for the call. We will definately return and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I had informed them earlier that I had an accident and was in a wheel chair so they put us in the restaurant rather than upstairs as were in the last time. The meal was lovely the staff very attentive and I was happy that it all went so well, considering they had a wedding on at the same time.

The annual accordion and fiddle AGM was held there on Sunday 30th June. Fantastic hotel the food /service/everything was perfect. The views from the hotel over the river Tay were astounding.Excellent one way system in huge car park

Booked in for an overnight stay and would recommend this hotel. great room and great breakfast. Very clean, and great breakfast menu. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great seating area at the front of the hotel looking out over the Tay.

Very pleasant hotel. Lots of parking space. Good room, excellent food, great meeting room and function suite. Reasonable prices. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Trip was to attend the AGM of the National Association of Accordion & Fiddle Clubs. This was the Association's first time at this location but there seems to be widespread concensus that we should return for future events.

My partner was going into the local hospital (3 minutes driving time) for surgery. We decided to stay the night before and after to make the travelling less stressful. This is a fabulous hotel with friendly staff who will do their very best to help you with anything that will make your stay better. A great base for what we needed and we'll definitely be back for a more leisurely visit. We had dinner the first night and the food was excellent and good value for money. Thank you Sarah at reception for all your help with my online booking mistakes and your general cheery manner. Hope to see you all again soon.

Stayed at the Invercarse for the second time and will have no hesitation in booking this hotel again while in Dundee. Stayed in a room in the new extension and it was very spacious. Beds are huge and very comfortable. Breakfast is a treat and the hotel is spotless. Staff are very friendly and there is plenty parking at this hotel. It is a little bit away from the town centre but it really is a little gem of a hotel.

Rooms were ok, double bed was ruined as i found out they were only two singles pushed together and a sheet thrown over. TV situated at a slant which makes it hard to watch. Food in the restaurant looked great but tasted bland. Don't leave breakfast too late as you will be left with crumbs. For the price paid it was ok. Lovely surroundings and gardens.

We attended a wedding at The Invercarse. We have attended recent events at Best Western hotels including The Garfield, Stepps and The Woodlands, Broughty Ferry. It appears the chain have high standards as the experiences exceeded our expectations. The Invercarse was excellent especially the food and service. One downside is the price of drinks a round of 6 drinks (prosecco and a soft drink) was £44.50 that is more than expensive.

Stayed here on a few occasions and love the proximity to hospital where I work. Parking is a bit of a pain as it's at the furthest away point to the reception but free so take the good with the bad. Rooms I have stayed in are newly designed large and smell new and fresh great very comfy queen size bed great 55” tv on wall with free view and also HDMI connection on table which is great to plug in Netflix etc room is always warm and really quiet also staff very friendly and will continue to stay here ... I stay in hotels nearly every week and only a few comments to improve the already good service. Breakfast.... over a full week stay I would come in to find some of the breakfast trays empty... black pudding which I love mentioned in the menu not available from buffet. And please please leave a stack of side plates next to the toaster along with knifes for the butter. Altogether an enjoyable stay repeatedly and good value for money too

You know what it's like. Even before you reach somewhere you've had a really annoying experience. Charged two amounts on your credit card for your booking, one of which definitely!!!!! is not yours. So I was all set to identify all the negatives in my stay that supported my initial view. And then, the hotel goes and provides actually a good experience. The Invercarse is in my home town so I really want it to be a good visit for people. Set on the Perth Road, on the periphery of Dundee, the location is really good. 10/15 mins in a taxi into the centre of town and the shops and the v and a. Similarly, in the other direction, 20/25 minute walk into invergowrie which is a nice little place to visit. Welcome at the hotel was good. Quickly checked in. Room was very nice. Looked recently refurbished. Bed was very comfy. Nice bathroom and shower. We were at the side sort of of the hotel. No view, but that wasn't an issue. 6th year party on but we never heard a thing. Breakfast next morning was good. Service was very good. They could have done topping up stuff a little more. Guests coming within 30 mins of close time might have been miffed. Checkout out no problems and friendly. Large carpark at rear so no issues there. So well done invercarse. You turned a disgruntled customer around. And yes, I would definitely stay there again. Now if only American Express had shown as good customer service!!

This hotel is in a great location, 5 minute taxi from the airport. It is a really good quality and the restaurant is always busy as the food is known to be good by the locals. It is very well kept and staff are friendly and welcoming. Rooms are nice and exceptionally clean but vary in size. I've stayed a few times and on some occasions I get a huge room and others its quite small, luck of the draw I suppose. Restaurant is nice, great views, and the food is good. One complaint is that in certain rooms the wifi is a little poor, which isn't great if you are working, but other rooms its amazing.

I checked into this hotel this afternoon. I had a minor issue with the room and spoke to reception about it. 5 minutes later the manager called to my room and promptly allocated me to a new upgraded room. As someone who travels the country which involves staying in 2-3 hotels in the average week I have to congratulate the manager for delivering exceptional customer service. It is greatly appreciated. Congratulations also to the reception for their warm and friendly manner. I would certainly stay again when I am next in the area. Thank you Neil

My wife and I visited Scotland for 3 weeks in May. We booked a room for two. We were given one of the smallest rooms I had ever been in. There was absolutely no room to move. It was extremely disappointing. We didn't want to come back to the room at the end of the day. After persevering for a week, I asked if we could be moved to a bigger room. Sarah form reception was most sympathetic, and moved us into a much bigger room. The new room was a delight, clean, spacious, and well appointed. It made the remainder of our stay very enjoyable. We had the breakfast on two occasions, the dinner once, and were very happy with the food on offer. The service was good too. The location was just out of the main city of Dundee, but easily accessible on a bus, with a stop being 50mt up Perth Rd from the hotel. We had a hire car for the 3 weeks, and had no trouble getting a park in the safety at the rear of the hotel. After a small hiccup at the start, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone. We will be back. Thanks again to Sarah at reception for your kind assistance.

This hotel was absolutely stunning and would happily stay again only issue is the older part of the hotel has a few issues such as taps dripping constantly but this is the tiniest issue in comparison to how amazing this place is

Very nice hotel in a quite location and with views toward the Tay river and hills. Nice garden and with two huge trees. The breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly. The internet might need some up grade.

On the whole, not a bad hotel. Especially the breakfast/dining area which looks out on the water. Although the rooms are very dated and look like something out of an old peoples home. The reason for this review however, is that I was really dismayed with the attitude of the two front desk girls. I've just returned from Dundee on a business trip and stayed at the hotel for one night. After my meeting, and having walked up the long hill in my business suit on a particularly hot day, I asked one of the drippy girls behind reception if I could briefly have a key to a bedroom so I could just change out of my suit and into some casual clothes. On the face of it, one would not honestly have thought that this would not be an unreasonable request given that I only checked out 'as a paying guest' a few hours earlier. The response was, 'No. All 60+ Rooms are fully booked. Use the disabled toilet' What a pity. I do lots of business in Dundee & unfortunately will now not be staying here again.

Stayed here for two nights as working in Dundee. It's only a short 5-6 minute taxi or 10 bus ride from the train station. Seems a large car park too. Warm welcome on arrival. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Slept well both nights. Didn't have breakfast there but the dinners were very good value and good quality. The Dahl was very nice. Would stay again if working in Dundee again

got a bargain with an upgraded (very cold on arrival) and quiet room. My husband found the bed too hard but I was fine with it. Downgraded it due to lack of staff smiles and a problem at their restaurant. Location quite outside Dundee, but lots of car parking facilities. Restaurant's menu is good but a bit pricey.

I arrived early evening after a very long journey. The reception was manned by a gentleman who was very welcoming and efficient. I asked about room service so he got someone to bring a menu to me at reception as he could see I was tired. Room service was efficient and the standard of the food was acceptable. They advised up front there would be a charge for that service and whilst I thought it was quite a lot it is comparable to other hotels. The bedroom was large with all facilities and a great bathroom. Whilst the decor was dated it was clean and very tidy. I would definitely visit again.

The food was great! service brilliant. The chocolate dessert was brilliant and I do not tend to like chocolate. The price was perfect for the quality of food, the views from the restaurant are amazing.

In total, I stayed 9 nights at the Best Western Invercarse, although I had no idea initially that I would be staying there. My older daughter who lives in Dundee was unexpectedly hospitalized at Ninewells for just under two weeks. I flew over from Washington DC to be with her, and since her partner had bad flu, he was unable to visit her in hospital, and I didn't want to stay in their house and run the risk of passing it on to her. I had no idea how long she might be in hospital so extended my stay at the hotel in dribs and drabs, and the staff was always ready to find me a room, and were always very helpful. The first time she was released from hospital, we unfortunately had to return to Emergency almost immediately, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful in ensuring her rapid transportation back to hospital, and thereafter. I cannot thank them all enough for all their help, and while my thanks are due to all, I would like to note in particular Sarah on Reception, and Zara in the dining room. I am so glad that my daughter was finally able to enjoy one night at the hotel. The breakfasts and dinners were wonderful, and of particular note (since it's not made in the US) was the sticky toffee pudding in the evening. Thank you all so very much for having made a rather difficult time much easier and my thanks to all concerned.

Stayed for one night while visiting area. The hotel is well-located in a very pleasant area of the city near the airport and is set within nice grounds. We took a small room, which was small but not exceedingly so but it was warm and we had to open a window to keep it cool. Also, I found the pillows a little uncomfortable but you can request others. We ate dinner in the restaurant from a Sunday Menu which was pretty basic and essentially pub grub though nice (and the chef made something from the regular menu for my wife who didn't like anything off the menu on offer). There were a couple of very minor things in the room like a loose hot water tap that twisted as you turned the valve and the stopper to flip between the taps and the shower in the path just pulled off - but overall i thought the hotel was very pleasant and nice for its three stars.

Our family (3) spent 6 nights at the Best Western Dundee and we really enjoyed our time there. The staff were very polite and welcoming. The hotel was excellent at an affordable price! The hotel is also a good base to explore from and we went to Dundee, Perth, Edinburgh, Inverness and Forfar...

We booked a two night stay late April at this hotel in order to visit the V & A and other points of interest in Dundee. We now wish we had booked some extra nights here but had made other arrangements. We do intend to return. This is a nice hotel in its own grounds. Reception Staff extremely pleasant. Room nice - clean and comfortable. Great choice at breakfast. Evenings meals very nice too and reasonably priced. Great idea given that you can order smaller portions of main course if you so wished. The deputy Manager was excellent - giving lots of attention - particulary in our case - for which we wish to thank him. Amongst other matters - he gave advice on places to see in Dundee. Suggesting that we leave our car at the hotel and take a short bus ride into the City - No 5 bus - purchasing an inexpensive all day ticket. This we did. Only down side - was the fact that our bedroom was directly above where the staff and delivery vehicles parked to off load early mornings - some guests could find this a little annoying. Did not particularly bother us. No lift to the first floor - reception will offer to deliver your cases to your room though. Well done Best Western Invercarse.....having stayed at many City hotels - we have to say the management of this hotel is the tops. Thank you.

Huge comfortable bed, excellent food, friendly staff. Close to city centre and Botanical Gardens. V&A a waste of time, nice building but empty apart from two cafe/restaurants. Waste of over £80 million and the locals are not too happy either, just ask a taxi driver !

This hotel was great from start to finish. Arrival was cheery and quick Room was quite new large and very comfortable. Lovely views of the water very relaxing . The food was the best reasonable price for great quality well done.

My partner and I came to stay here for 3 nights, we were here 3 years ago and enjoyed ourselves so we rebooked. We were given a room in the room in the new annex. On first impression room looked nice but as we got into our stay, it was a nightmare. There is no air con and they were like sweat boxes. Had our window open all the time but was woken every morning by various bin wagons and delivery vans so no chance of a lie in. The rooms are very badly designed, there is no proper shelving to put anything on. We went to put something on top of the miniature hanging space which was jammed in the corner but it was thick with dust. We also had 6pillows and 2 cushions to find somewhere to put as Well! The bathroom was quite nice, no bath but the toilet was quite difficult to flush if you have bad hands. Not sure where to start with breakfast! First day was ok but my partner asked for 2 fried eggs but was brought one and jug of coffee! Next day, they decided to start painting half of the dining room but instead of waiting till guests finished their breakfasts, they decided to do the gloss work whilst we were eating and also decided to drill just for good measure! Third day, there were a lot of people waiting for fresh hot food as the chef was struggling! My partner was brought out 2 smashed fried eggs and I had to wait ages for bacon, and others were saying there were no potatoes, mushrooms and sausage, and staff attitudes were very poor. God help this hotel as there are better ones near to town and also now a premier inn.

Lovely location rooms at the rear were quite new and very comfortable. Fantastic news over the Tay great spot for breakfast . All meals were 5* so well presented and served by friendly staff .Very impressed with our stay well done great team .

Overnight stay here was just perfect. Beautiful room and exceptionally quiet. Very comfy bed and very clean bathroom. Dinner was delicious and good value. Breakfast was fabulous and a great choice for all tastes and requirements. Really couldn't fault it. We've just booked again with another Best Western Hotel in England due to the excellent standard of this one. Delighted. We'll definitely be back. X

I came to Dundee for an emergency family situation and opted to stay in this hotel. Our room was filthy and looked outdated, certainly not matching the online photos. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and both my son and myself came home with rashes on our body. Needless to say this will be a first and last.

We had an adapted room/bathroom as my partner has some mobility problems. The room was in a new extension of the hotel so it was in great condition. The wetroom was very spacious and well equipped. The bedroom was contemporary with lots of room to move. Plenty of room for a person using a wheelchair.

The Invercarse in Dundee is a great little hotel with the highly professional and very pleasant staff all working to ensure guests are thoroughly welcomed and made to feel at home. From the moment of the warmth at check in to the friendly check out, the staff could not have been better.

A modern hotel overlooking the River Tay as it strolls towards the sea. We found the rooms very adequate for a short stay for one, but awkward for two in the lack of storage for our clothes. Unfortunately, we were met with a warm welcome from the experienced reception personnel, but a less than friendly and helpful staff in the restaurant for dinner.

The hotel is nice and is clean. Only stayed for one night. Evening meal really not good. 4 of us had food, different meals and barely ate any between us. Chose not to complain just wouldn't eat there again. Fire alarm went off 4.30am woke us up, no fire, no explanation. Children unable to get back to sleep. Hopefully this doesn't happen often. Staff on front desk very friendly and helpful. I would stay again no problem but not for food.

Booked into the Invercarse hotel just before 2pm , normally other hotels are 3pm so this made a nice change. There was a wedding going on and the reception was very busy and noisey but the receptionist delt with us quickly and efficiently telling us everything we needed to know and easy directions to our room. Pleasent enough room with a double bed, and the room was clean and comfortable, as was the hotel, we had stayed here before and the bed was a super king size and the room was huge so i was a bit surprised by this much smaller room although it wasn't a problem. Fantastic view from the restaurant & bar over the river Tay , we sat outside and had a drink in the sunshine by the 2 huge Redwood tree's, amazing! Delicious evening meal served by lovely friendly staff, although there was a wedding going on and the some of reception guest's were in and out it was really quite quiet which was good, I was expecting it to be noisey later on but thankfully we heard nothing. Breakfast was the usual continental or hot buffet nothing spectacular but tasty never the less, again the staff were lovely. All in all a very pleasant stay. We would go back without hesitation .

Stayed here for two nights whilst on a business trip. Nice hotel overall and staff very helpful throughout. Two minute drive to the airport. Some aspects of the hotel were a little dated, but the rooms were very nice and the bed very comfortable! Slept well! A fantastic breakfast available too! Worth the money!

This is an excellent budget hotel, providing good sleep and hearty meals with friendly and helpful service throughout, particularly from Sarah on reception. The restaurant and breakfast area have great views over the garden to the Tay.

I have been here several times - mainly for weddings. On this occasion it was for a funeral tea. The food is always decent but never brilliant. The hotel itself is comfortable but the best thing about it are the views. Great place for a wedding (or a funeral)...!

Very well equipped hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very handy for Ninewells Hospital. Restaurant served excellent food well presented and well cooked. Lovely view from the dining room overlooking the Tay

My husband and I stayed here for a family wedding and found the room clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast was excellent good food and choice. Needed a car to get to nearby shops etc but the location and views more than compensate for that.

Stayed here while attending a conference in Dundee, the hotel is 1.9 miles outside Dundee centre, an easy walk or a short taxi ride. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, the hotel is welcoming and comfortable. The rooms are clean and well equipped, will definitely be staying again the next time i am in Dundee

The walking club had their annual dinner here. The service was great. Despite the large numbers the food arrived hot and was cooked just right. It was also served to all tables simultaneously. The tables were cleared efficiently so there were no disruption when the after dinner speaker came on.

We stayed here as a family for the daughters open day at Dundee University and this proved to be a perfect place to chillout before and after a hectic day on campus. Service was exemplary from start to finish , the room was large , warm and very comfortable with all the usual amenities , we were in the new annexe of the hotel so were basically almost at the rear carpark so well away from the bar and restaraunt areas so had a fantastically quiet sleep. Had a great meal at the hotel on the Friday night and then the usual buffet breakfast before we left on the Saturday. Well reccomended for a comfortable , quiet spot to stay outside the city centre which is only 10-15mins away by taxi.

Stayed here one night. The hotel is basic, as you can expect from the price and the brand. Nonetheless, the interior is cozy and welcoming and the staff friendly. The rooms are small and simple but they are clean and comfortable. We didn't have breakfast so can't judge that but for a short and cheap stay I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good location .. quite close to the hospital and the city centre. The room was huge warm and absolutely spotless! Staff were friendly and there was free parking. Only negative would be the roast at the restaurant was poor quality...The only veg on the plate were peas and the potatoes were too salty to eat!

We attended the SNP Burns Supper on Saturday 2nd February and the first complaint was the state of the car park. It was covered in snow and ice with no clear footpath to the function suite...disgraceful. Once we arrived it was very cool in the suite and that was despite nearly 250 guests in the ballroom. My wife went to the toilets and reported they were absolutely freezing, the gents were the same and there was no toilet paper in the gents. This was reported three times to the bar staff who didn't seem interested. When the speakers were performing the bar area was distractingly noisy at times. That said, the food and service was good and the waiting staff did a good job.

Had to visit Dundee due to family bereavement. Needed to book three rooms for ourselves and family. Nice 3 star hotel, we were given upgraded rooms and it looked as if the hotel and the rooms we were given had been refurbished fairly recently. Also good value for money. Friendly, helpful staff. The one small glitch was the evening meal on the last night where one of the orders wasn't placed so we had all finished our main meal before the last main meal came out. Genuine error, the staff were very apologetic and 10% was taken off the food bill for the whole table...so well recovered! Good location and would recommend

Stayed here on a brief visit to Dundee. Stayed in a newly refurbished part of the hotel in a very spacious room with a massive tv on the wall. The bed was superb and the food served in restaurant was a very very good also! I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Dundee area!

After attending a function on 4th January, I asked at reception if I could have a taxi ordered. The “gentleman” did this and told me it wouldn't be long. I then went to let my family know that it was on it's way. As I returned to the reception area to wait, the taxi driver was already there and I overheard the reception employee say “I told them it would be quick but these f*****s never listen”. Is this really the way your staff view the customers? Very, very disappointing way to end what was a very good evening.

The new room was large, disabled parking outside room. Heating very good, food and service throughout very good. The price is reasonable to. Very clean and a huge bed and largest wet room disabled friendly ever.

Stayed here recently for a Christmas Day out - very impressed with the room, very comfy and large TV :) The food was delicious in the restaurant and the majority of the staff were so nice, smiley and helpful, with the exception of 1 who was quite rude and tried to be intimidating. Not very welcoming at all. Very unprofessional and holding hands over the bar with an other female colleague. Just a crappy attitude in general. The hotel itself is amazing, and the night staff were also brilliant and welcoming.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the bed room and bathroom was spacious, clean and fitted to a high standard the food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. There was only one complaint the mattresses on both beds were dreadful, old and lumpy and fitted with a matress toppers which was even worse. This so surprising because everthing else was of the highest standard.

I organised an Xmas event for my AST on 5 December 2018. We had a great evening from start to finish. The private dining room was great, the staff were attentive, the Xmas menu was varied and the food was very good in quality and presentation. I couldn't fault anything and would recommend the Invercarse highly!

This hotel is nice, basic but very functional - just what you expect from a 3* property and a price to match. The rooms i had booked were similar in size and clean, one double and one twin. The hotel was very busy when we stayed and i felt that the bar staff showed that they were stressed and seemed disinterested in guests at times. The complete opposite was shown at breakfast where the staff were great and attentive. The breakfast was buffet style and to a good standard. Overall, not a bad stay. Unfortunate that a couple members of staff can almost let the whole team down. At the end of the day if they had no guests they wouldn't have a job. I understand that for some people a job is a job but there has to be a minimum standard and speaking about guests to colleagues in front of guests in below the minimum standard. I wouldn't choose to stay here again if there were alternative options available, but i wouldn't not go back.

cosy hotel, friendly staff room was upgraded by lady at reception as hotel quieter at this time of year. couldnt fault anything the rooms are large and spotless, not like these new hotels we have stayed in rooms like a box. the bar are is small but friendly atmosphere and very relaxing

We stayed here one Saturday night after finding a great bargain for DBB. We had 3 course lunch instead of dinner and food was all fantastic. Room was large, clean and modern. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff. Good location with plenty of parking. Will definitely return

The hotel is average - nothing really awful except the tiny tiny tiny bar area which only seats about 10 people and smells heavily and unappetisingly of the food from the adjacent restaurant section- nothing really great either. Not sure whether I would come back.

We stayed here recently whilst in dundee to attend a friends wedding. Our room was quite basic but perfectly adequate. Thought it would be noisy due to there being a wedding at the hotel but it wasn't too bad.

This is a very comfortable hotel with immaculately clean rooms and a very high standard of service. We stayed for two nights and cannot fault the service and the room, we found it to be very good value for money. The breakfast was tasty and a good start for the day, the quality and selection of food was excellent. If you do not fancy driving to Dundee city center, It is 45 minute walk to the center and there is a bus stop outside the hotel.

We have used this hotel because we require a handicap room the Invercarse is an outstanding example of what a hotel should be. The room is great a large comfortable bed a well equipt wet room bathroom. The foods good the staff exceptional, a great breakfast what more could you ask we booked direct through the Best Western website being members we got a good rate. Recommend this hotel as a great place to stay. We will definitely be back .. ! Thanks to all the staff

Overall this hotel is good value for money. The public areas are traditionally decorated to a good standard and the food in the restaurant is good and reasonably priced. It also has nice views out towards the River Tay. The buffet breakfast is decent with hot and cold options. Only negative on the food front is that the restaurant closes at 9pm. That seems a bit early and a little silly considering you are a couple of miles away from the city centre. It's fair to say that people staying here, are likely to be eating here. I noticed more than a few people turned away only a few minutes after 9. With all that said, the staff were great, providing local take away options/contact numbers etc. Staff on the whole were very accommodating and pleasant to deal with throughout our stay I have to say. The room itself was clean and comfortable albeit the taste in decor is a little old fashioned/dated. The bathroom in particular looked like it could do with a bit of a makeover. I have stayed here before and the room was much better that time I have to say. It had a large walk in shower but this time around the shower was over the bath which looked a little on the old side, and the shower pressure wasn't particularly strong. Otherwise the room allowed for a decent nights sleep and had all the amenities required for an overnight stay. I would probably stay here again if i managed to get a good enough deal, but I would also consider one of the many alternatives nearby, particularly given the restricted restaurant hours at the Invercarse.

This was a nice hotel, near to town with clean, comfortable rooms. The food was good too - I particularly enjoyed High Tea. The only downside (in October) was that the heating did not come on until 5pm - so it was a bit too cool for me when I arrived. There is a fantastic ballroom in the hotel for events.

Decided to eat out on Saturday night and after much deliberation decided to chance our luck and try the Invercarse. We were happy to be seated on arrival and have no bad words to say about our visit. The food was delicious and would go back to eat again but the highlight of my visit was the service we received. We were served by a waitress, who if I remember correctly, was called Olivia. She made us feel welcome and gave us everything we would need. If you are thinking about visiting here I would urge you to go, with amazing food and amazing staff what more could you want!

We were looking for somewhere cheap and clean to just put our heads down before visiting the V&A in Dundee the next day. This hotel met our expectations. There was plenty of parking and we were met by friendly staff. The room was warm, clean, with a comfortable bed - a good stop over. The price reflects the fact that its location is about 2.5 miles west of Dundee centre.

We stayed here for the weekend with our family of two young boys. We got a lovely, clean, quiet, spacious family room. The bed was superb. So comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful - the woman at the check in desk couldn't do enough to help us find a local restaurant that could give us a table at short notice when we arrived. Breakfast was great with a good selection. No greasy fry ups here.

We attended a Charity Dinner at the Invercarse and managed to secure a reasonable rate for an overnight stay. The welcome was warm and friendly and the room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with all the accessories you would expect. The furniture is rather tired and in need of refurbishing/replacing but this did not distract from our stay. Dinner at the event was very good and, considering the numbers involved, service was fast and efficient. The only criticism was that the cheese boards and half full bottle of wines were removed from tables before the event had concluded. Despite bringing this to the attention of the waiting staff they were not returned. Breakfast was buffet style served in the Redwood Lounge with magnificent views over the river Tay. The various dishes were kept topped up by the friendly breakfast chef. Overall a very enjoyable stay enhanced by the friendly and cheery staff throughout the hotel.

We enjoyed being seated with a great view of the River Tay, service was prompt and efficient, menu choice was not extensive but main course food was OK and priced competitively. Dessert prices seemed expensive for portion sizes.

Returning customer, would not stay anywhere else in Dundee/Tayside area. Staff are excellent... so friendly and approachable, nothing too much trouble. The hotel rooms have been updated since our last stay.... Our suite was stunning!!!! Well done!!! The food is outstanding and the views of the River Tay/hotel garden are stunning. Great choice for breakfast. Great location too. Cannot fault this hotel..... Second to none! It's an absolute pleasure/treat staying here, will definitely be returning. Booked one night but could have stayed longer. The rooms are very comfortable and large. We had an evening meal in their restaurant and the food was of good quality and well prepared. A nice view out of the restaurant. Breakfast was buffet help yourself with plenty of choice. Staff were attentive and polite. When we stayed there was a wedding reception but this did not interfere with the other guests nor was it to noisy for other guests. All in a nice comfortable stay.

The younger restaurant staff need training on engaging with customers when taking and serving orders. Most lunchtime diners were over 60 and the use of appropriate language could be improved in this lovely restaurant.

2nd visit the the Invercarse, and we weren't disappointed. We had a family room in the new extension, the room was a good size (2 adults and a teenager) the beds very comfortable and overall a very pleasant room. Impressed by the restaurant at both breakfast and evening meals, enjoyable food and every member of staff we met both in the restaurant and throughout the rest of the hotel, was lovely. Overall, I would highly recommend. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars was the warmth of the rooms: Dundee in September is not roasting hot, but our room was. That being said, would I return. Yes I would!

When we arrived we were given a room upstairs but I requested a lower ground room instead because my wife was disabled. The reception team was able to change our room quickly and with no fuss. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, food was really good; helped with the beautiful views from the restaurant. Would book again on next visit to Dundee.

Helpful staff, nice bar area, beautifully finished rooms in the new wing. I would happily stay here again, and would happily recommend it to anyone else. It will be my first hotel of choice next time I'm in Dundee.

WE got asked to move from a nearby best western hotel by the very nice receptionist Sylvia who did us a fantastic deal and it worked out great. Rooms in the new extension are sparkly clean with great king size beds and huge smart tv,s We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good indeed and not too pricey. Great view over the Tay and rather busy which is always a good sign. Breakfast is buffet style but very good quaility and piping hot.

Stayed one night for a wedding at the start of August. Our wedding was elsewhere but pretty central for where we needed to be. upon arrival, the heating was clearly at full temperature - it was boiling! The room was small, but fine, carpet was dirty though and the bathroom was horrible. When we returned from our wedding, the wedding which was on at the hotel was very noisy with guests outside shouting and swearing. Wouldn't stay here again.

My friend and I had booked to stay at the Invercarse some months before we actually stayed and were able to secure a reasonable rate for the night. It was cheaper than the local Premier Inn so that is why we chose it. We also wanted to be close to Dundee airport which is only 5 mins down the road from here. It is also in striking distance of the Discovery Centre and V&A. The large car park is accessed from the main road at the front and is free which is a bonus. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly and there is a nice atmosphere in the lobby and restaurant area. My room (104) was a little small (as you can see by the pictures) but for one person it was adequate. There was no view out of any of the windows and there was an annoying air conditioning unit that started up around 5:30 in the morning just outside the bathroom window so if you are looking for a quiet nights sleep, room 104 is not for you. The restaurant for me was the highlight of the hotel. The views out of the 'wall of windows' to the front of the hotel is breath-taking and they have really made the most of their hotel view. I suspect in the summer it gets very busy here. The staff were hugely efficient and on their game and service was excellent. The range of food on the menu was wide and varied and the portions were quite large. I had a curry which was very tasty. Breakfast was OK. however I did not like the idea of a flat rate for it. I would expect a different price for hot breakfast vs continental. But the food and drink on offer was very good. I asked if they would allow me to take my breakfast with me (doggy bag) and the hotel were happy to oblige. Overall I liked the hotel and the people who work there. I would stay there again but I would like a better room next time, facing the river Tay. One point to note, the last remaining seaman who served on HMS Victory ended his days at the property onsite. There is a commemoration in the lobby by the reception.

We where in Dundee overnight to visit family friends and the new v&a... We chose to have somewhere a bit out of the city centre as we knew it would be so busy the invercarse ticked that box... The hotel is beautiful we had a lovely warm welcome from reception we arrived a little early for check in so enjoyed a light lunch in the sunny conservatory the food was tasty. We then got a little early check in at 1.30pm idea as we where tired so could relax before our busy night. The room was in the extension and was very modern bright but cosy at the same time, clean tidy and all equipped for what we needed. The bed was very comfy and we did have a view out to the river tay, we ordered room service which consisted of sandwiches and snacks when home and where accommodated well staff wherever you happy and pleasant when delivering to our room, we had a great sleep. We would stay again and wished we opted for 2 nights that time.

We stayed at the Best Western Invercarse for two nights in a king room. Both the room and bathroom were beautiful and there was a full bathtub and shower. We booked with a full Scottish breakfast which was very good. There were hot and cold offerings and you could order eggs and some other hot items as well. The location is about a 10 minute drive or cab ride to the city centre so it is a bit out of the way if you want to be close to the city centre. We had a beautiful view of the water from the hotel. Like many other older hotels, there are a lot of stairs which can make it difficult to get luggage to the room. We enjoyed our stay.

This hotel wins the award of the most useless and unhelpful staff! Their favorite word is NO, along with NoT Possible! The facilities are really on the just acceptable level. The rooms are small, everything seems to have put together at the last minute. The cleanliness level of everything is below average, this includes, plates, silverware, towels, carpets well, about everything really. But the staff....NOT acceptable The plate with the eggs is just coming from the kitchen, you might see that the plate is anything but clean, and the staff does not care. Stay clear ! You have a bit of a view from the conservatory, but this is only from there.

We stayed for 2 nights as a family of 3 and were immediately impressed. From the moment we were greeted at reception to when we checked out, we couldn't have asked for more! Rooms have been that recently updated you can still smell the new carpet. They are immaculately clean and hugely spacious even with the sofa bed set up. The bathroom is modern and a nice addition to the room with the walk in shower. A good nights sleep was had by all of us. The restaurant offered high tea which we thought was a lovely touch and all the food was delicious. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the staff were all lovely and efficient. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel considering it's only a 3 star and couldn't have asked for a better stay. We will definitely be back!

Me and my husband have just returned from a weekend here and it was brill. We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and was given a room upgrade which we thoroughly appreciated. The food both breakfast and evening meal was lovely, the waitresses in both the bar and restaurant were lovely and couldnt do enough for us, drinks prices reasonable, our room was spotless, location was ideal as we headed to Glasgow for a day. The views onto the river Tay are stunning. The hotel was excellent for the price we had paid. Only 1 small fault was 1 of the receptionists wasnt very helpful, never gave out any information on the hotel and we had to ask later on how to book evening meal and what time breakfast was, we did eventually find this info in a bedside drawer in our room. Would definately stay here again. Thanks again.

A very nice hotel. Not perfect of course, but excellent value for money and nice staff. As an older hotel there are signs the rooms could do with an update, but considering the low cost and lovely location, this can been forgiven.

Its a suitable place if you find yourself in Dundee for some reason.. The breakfast is great and the rooms are recently renovated. Facilities are great. Stealing one point from full marks due to non central location and a slightly impolite front desk. No grudges though.. our stay was extremely comfortable.

Our room was a family room. Very spacious and had everything we required. Our large king size bad was very comfortable. The twin room provided space for our grandsons. On a negative note we were near the ballroom and it was a little noisey from the smokers from the wedding chatting outside.

The purpose of our visit to Dundee was to return the ashes of my mother back to Scotland. After placement of the remains we took a tour of the city and visited a number of addresses where relatives used to reside. All very interesting and revealing. The hotel provided a welcome location for such a journey.

We stayed here on business during a trade show. Overall, we were rather surprised at this hotel! The rooms are large and modern and the hotel in general is rather nice. The views from breakfast/restaurant were great! Breakfast it's self was tasty enough. Service was pleasant and there is plenty of free parking. I'd say this is one of the nicest BW hotels I've stayed in. Would return.

As it was difficult to get a hotel in Edinburgh we opted to stay the night in Dundee, this hotel is a gem, we were in a room for disabled guests and we were amazed at the space, the size of the bed - must be a super king size and the television was huge. The toilet was fabulous, it was well equipped with a walk in shower with chair and it would easily accommodate someone in a wheelchair. Breakfast was tasty but beware the hot plates - use a napkin! The only downside was the walk from reception to our room, there were so many steps with the room almost at the end of the corridor and the surly receptionist on duty in the morning when we checked out. Really nice receptionist Nicola, booked us in, she was very friendly and was very helpful. We would stay here again, the view from the lounge and restaurant is amazing.

Great hotel, lovely location within easy reach of the city centre and right beside the airport. The room was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay. I will definitely use this hotel again, as I will be making frequent trips to this location.

Breakfast lovely ... you can ask for poached eggs , fresh porridge free of charge. Got some lovely extras in the room , hot chocolates and short breads and some toiletries and sewing kit etc. The family room was a lovely size . Two separate rooms in one . The main bed was huge and could fit 3 adults in easily. A very scenic path along the river to walk/run . Right next to a large Tesco express , botanical gardens and coffee shop.. The view from the restaurant is lovey straight over the river . Request a window table ... lovey little Scottish touches such as tablet on the menus . Room service available also..

Lovely old house in stunning location overlooking river Tay. Stay was marred by noise unfortunately from celebratory function in ballroom beside our room. Staff are fab, very helpful and do their best

This is a nice hotel with basic amenities. The rooms are basic but clean. No lift to rooms. Parking is a considerable distance from hotel entrance. Would stay again if needed to but wouldn't go out of my way to get here.

It wasn't extremely hot outside however our room seemed somewhat of a sauna! The hotel staff gave us a fan. The room was clean, quite small but fine for what we needed. The shower could be better, not much pressure from it so struggled to wash hair. Staff very pleasant. Restaurant menu looked appealing but never ate in it.

Our first experience of this hotel was an overnight stop on the way to Aberdeen for a family funeral and since we arrived at 21:45 and departed at 08:30 the following morning, we promised ourselves that we would visit again as were impressed with the hotel and wanted to explore Dundee.

Waitress at breakfast let the whole experience down - other staff were very friendly and professional. We were told breakfast was finished when we arrived 10 minutes before it was meant to end and told we could have the leftovers - no offer of toast or pastries. She walked off and started putting food away and never spoke to us again. We were very disappointed after having a lovely nights sleep in this quiet comfortable hotel - I recommend the hotel but I am not sure I would go back.

The room was a good size albeit with a window overlooking the car park access road. The bed comfortable if a tad hot in the Dundee heatwave. The bathroom clean. Alas there were 3 nights of wedding parties and with that came a fairly constant passage along the hall with its loud creaking floorboards and heavy shutting fire door. Plus the odd loud "goodnight" as guests dispersed to their rooms. Hence not good for peaceful sleeping on any night. The buffet breakfast was varied (hot and cold choices including cheeses) and pleasant with well cooked food. Lovely bread, quality jam and marmalade. Extra choice of hot food available too. Be good if the outside terrace wood tables were cleaned and cigarette stubs removed before breakfast. We chose to sit out one morning for breakfast to enjoy view. We stayed 3 nights. Am not sure the room was hoovered mid stay. Very convenient location for the botanical gardens. If the hallway issue is fixed so one can sleep without disturbance, I would stay again.

Out looking for the Maggies Penguins today and one was I the grounds of the hotel. So thought we would stop for a coffee etc The coffee was so week that it half way through you could see the bottom of the cup. The hot chocolate looked like dish water. While asking for all the trimmings on the hot chocolate, the staff was a tad rude and said nothing - which in a hotel you'd think there would be at least cream ????

Just home from a two day break staying at this hotel. Stay was great, staff very friendly and food was great too (especially bacon and sausages for breakfast). There was a wedding on each night and we didn't hear a thing. The room (210) that we had was great also - good size with large bathroom (seemingly it has an adjoining room if required). Beds were VERY comfortable too. All in a great stay into the bargain we had booked it at a very special rate as advertised on tv. Would definitely like to return one day!

Food was great,lovely garden and views,staff always helpful with a smile,reception went the ex mile printing off maps to local attractions really helpful. our room's were amazing my mum loved her disabled room so much she can't wait to come back

I recently stayed here whilst away on business and had been recommended by a colleague. On arrival there is a car park to the rear of the property with plenty of parking which was a great plus. Checking was OK not over welcoming staff and the room was a nightmare to get too lots of steps.The room was dated and looked like it needed an update.really large bed which again was another plus. My TV constantly lost signal which was annoying. I asked for a menu for room service but there was nothing really on there that i wanted,so i went out to eat. My room was on the front so really noisy with everyone passing by the entrance. I had reasonable night sleep. Breakfast was good I thik for the price i paid i expected better from a Best Western!

We appreciate that the room we were given was a 'budget room', but were surprised at how small it actually was. The double bed was hard up against a wall, meaning that if the person on the inside needed up during the night they had to climb over the person on the outside. Unsatisfactory! This room should be a single, not a double room. What really spoiled our stay however was the fact that our room (104) had air conditioning/heating ducting just outside both the bathroom, and the bedroom windows. This meant that we were disturbed regularly throughout the night with the noise of its workings. We tried shutting the windows, but the room became uncomfortably warm very quickly. We had been at a wedding in Dundee on the Thursday, and had a function in Glasgow the next day. This was why we stayed over, to get a good night's sleep! It turned out to be the opposite. We spoke to one of the housekeeping staff the next day. On being told which room we had stayed in she said " Oh that room's a nightmare"! That just about summed up our feelings. The young lady, who was duty manager the next morning when we were checking out, was very sympathetic. She said she would remove the cost of our breakfast from our bill, and inform the General Manager of our comments. Whilst appreciating the gesture, the point is that our night's sleep was completely ruined, and our next day suffered accordingly. The point I made at check out was that I have worked in hotel management for a number of years, and rather than having to offer any kind of compensation after the event, the hotel should only offer that room to a guest if they have made it clear that their sleep will be disturbed. Management MUST know that there is a problem with it.

A two night stay in a hotel we had driven by many times, and finally had a reason to stay. Glad we did. It is a well run and comfortable hotel set in lovely grounds . Well set up for functions with a big freshly surfaced car park ( I noted 4 or 5 electric car charging points so keeping pace with developments). The small double room was nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed First night we ate there as well .....excellent quality and well presented , the fish platter in particular. All breakfast items lovely, fresh raspberries especially enjoyable, and the best hotel toaster i've come across!. Staff well trained and very efficient . Don't hesitate to book this hotel.

Stayed here for the first time, hotel was lovely the surroundings were excellent especially the veiw of the River Tay, my meal at dinner was lovely l had the chicken and mango curry, but my wifes meal wasn't to good she had the macaroni cheese it was over cooked, this was the only down side, the waitress did offer to change it, but she took to long to come and ask, the restaurant was busy, but credit were it's due the following morning both our breakfast were first class, over all great rooms ,lovely hotel and the staff were very nice would definitely come back.????

I stayed for business over night the Saturday night and can safely say I will be back! Room was spot on and food was lovely. Staff were great particularly a young lady Olivia who served me during dinner on the sat and then breakfast on the Sunday!! She was great, welcoming and professional and nothing was too much trouble for her made my stay very enjoyable!!

This hotel is in a lovely location overlooking the river Tay. Sat in conservatory area to work on some papers and it was bright and comfortable. Small double room on side of hotel. Clean and quiet even though hotel was very busy. Good dinner menu and lovely breakfast. Staff all very helpful.

Prior to departing from Dundee on Baltic Cruise, we stayed overnight at this beautifully refurbished hotel. From reception staff to bar staff and waitresses, everyone was extremely polite and courteous and made us feel very welcome despite the fact that a very large wedding party had arrived! Not only did the company provide a courtesy car to take us to the seaport, they also allowed us to park at the hotel free of charge, for the first week of the cruise with a nominal charge applied the second week. We felt our holiday really began the moment we stepped into reception. No hesitation in either returning or recommending this hotel to others.

We happened upon this establishment totally by chance and were thrilled that we did. We extended our initial 2 day stay to 5 days because we discovered that this location was exactly what we needed for driving day trips. The friendly and accommodating staff at the hotel (Suzy, Daryl, Charlie and Michelle) were great ambassadors for the hotel, Dundee, and Scotland. We hope to return to Scotland in the future and this would be our first choice for a place to stay.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a good breakfast. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The car parking is simple with large capacity. So what else do you need ?? Will stay again if ever back in Dundee.

First time here, and warmly welcomed, great service and the dining room has a view to die for over the silvery Tay river. Food is reasonably priced and served with a smile. Wide choice and not long to wait. Also a nice quiet lounge next to the dining area.

Stayed here for an appointment I had in Dundee. Reception staff where friendly and the decor was pleasant. Room was comfy and everything you want from a hotel room. The food in the restaurant was decent hotel pub food with good portions. Only let down was the service. The team seemed badly organised only seemed to be one person bussing tables and the rest moaning about things. It's always a put of when you here staff openly slag each other off. This was the only down side to a very pleasant stay.

Stayed here for 2 nights beginning of May and will definitely be back. Staff were all so nice and helpful. Room was lovely and clean We ate in restaurant one night which was also excellent. Breakfast both mornings excellent. All in all a great stay.

I was doing a course in ninewells hospital and booked this Best Western because of its proximity to the hospital. I was pleasantly surprised, although very much a three star hotel, it is clean, the rooms spacious, the beds comfortable and the hotel has recently been renovated. There is a nice view of the Tay from the bar, the tea and coffee in the room was much appreciated, with short bread biscuits to accompany. The rooms have an iron, ironing board, ample storage, a nice flat screen tv, free wi fi and ample wardrobe space. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. The only improvement I would suggest is that for £75 per night, a small breakfast should have been included, other than this I can not fault this hotel and would recommend it

I was working away doing, with my wife staying away with me. We we're very satisfied with our stay, the first room had some damage on a door, we mentioned it at reception and we're given a new room. The room was fresh and clean, good selection of tea, coffee and some biscuits. Nice refreshing shower and good sized tv.

By chance we booked this hotel in Dundee and found it to be really good. Nice and clean room and a restaurant that gave us a good experience of the Scottish kitchen. The only complaint I have is the distance to the City center. Google Maps did not give the right distance..

What a pleasure it was to have a fabulous meal with great service in the beautiful surroundings of the recently refurbished hotel. The decor is very tastful and of very high standard, this coupled with the relaxing friendly atmosphere and attentive staff mades our visit a great experience.

Best Western are trying hard here. The hotel enjoys a quiet, secluded location overlooking the River Tay to Fife. The grounds and interior are impressive and well-kept and they're investing in improvement. We were given an upgrade into a very comfortable, nicely-furnished and spacious room in a new extension. Only slight problem was they're working on the car park outside which was pretty intrusive in the morning. We opted to have our evening meal in the hotel. For pre-dinner drinks I asked for a Campari and received a curt (that's how it sounded to me anyway) "We don't have Campari!" No apology, no suggestion about a possible alternative. Not a good start. One of the most popular pre-dinner drinks in the world isn't available. I wish I could meet whoever it was who decided that serving food on planks and slates was a good idea. It has started a fashion parade trend in food presentation. No planks or slates here but my haddock goujons and scampi came in a wire basket, the peas were in a ramekin with the tartare sauce in another. All served on a plate "lined" with a "Good Food News" mock newspaper. All looked impressive but, of course, the first thing you do is decant all this onto the plate whereupon you're left with an assortment of empty receptacles that were never cleared from the table. It doesn't take long for the grease from the fish batter to soak into the newspaper which then starts to disintegrate and you worry about how much is ending up mixing with the food. I suggested to the waitress that diners be offered the option of food served in the traditional way, ie on the plate. My wife's beef stew was a little short on beef, and of that which was there, there was a bit of gristle. Breakfast was good and relaxed. I'd have given this three and a half stars as I'd rate the overall experience 7 out of 10, but, with attention to detail at dinner this would have been a four instead of a three.

We were lucky enough to receive a free upgrade to a newly opened wing, which no doubt enhanced our good experience. Nevertheless I would recommend this hotel for being clean, quiet and having good views from the restaurant. The food is good quality and value.

Went for lunch to take in the alterations that have been done to the hotel's restaurant. Having experienced the restaurant many times in the past I was curious to see what had been done. I also enjoyed the food there and the excellent service. Our table was at the very front next to the large glass windows offering a great view over the River Tay. However being there on a sunny day it was rather warm and some ventilation would have been good. A small matter nevertheless which did not spoil the occasion. The restaurant makeover has been a success looking fresh and ready for the future.

The rooms were fantastic, very comfortable beds, clean and tidy. The reception staff were spot on, very helpful and made you feel very welcome. The restaurant was also amazing. They have a special menu which changes often along with the al a carte menu. I could not fault the food for the price. I would definitely recommend his hotel to anyone wanting to stop in Dundee for pleasure or business.

I stayed in this hotel with family and I have to say it is a hidden gem. The hotel is located a short drive from the city centre in a very quiet and peaceful location. We had a family room which consisted of two bedrooms and a bathroom and these were very spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities that we required. The whole hotel is stylishly decorated and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was buffet style, delicious and beautifully laid out. There is a large car park to the rear of the hotel. I had never stayed at this hotel before but I certainly will again, great value.

The Invercarse is unpredictable. As a fairly regular visitor we've enjoyed some pretty decent fair, but on this occasion it was definitely at the lower end of decent. Why? Contributory is probably the worst beef bourguignon I've ever had with veg on the firm side of al dente - in fact inedible. And across out table, a rather unconvincing, "it was ok" reaction, with one muttering of salmon cakes lacking salmon. The makeover has been a big success - but if the food is at the lower end of average, then those full tables, won't be full for much longer. And as for a previous reviewer suggesting 'Super Tasty Food' - is this the unpredictability coming through or evidence of someone who needs to get out more?

Haven't been to The Invercarse since the refurb had finished so thought we would nip in for some dinner. Restaurant is lovely and modern, was busy when we arrived but still had a table overlooking the Tay. Waitress was polite and the food was fantastic! We ordered pulled pork croquettes then the steak burger and skirlie stuffed chicken. They did not disappoint. Will certainly be back!

Having often visited the Invercarse previously, it was decided to take my father in law ( +my wife,brother in law and wife and their son) for his 94th birthday lunch. What a disappointment. We were made welcome and a table for 6 was made up with good views of the Tay. Unfortunately that is where it went downhill - the waitresses were appropriately dressed in black ( it might as well have been a funeral since not one smile was forthcoming for the whole time). The food was reasonably prompt but that was the last we saw of them until collection time and that was carried out in funereal silence - no enquiries re more drinks or satisfaction with meal. My salmon fishcakes (sadly missing any sign of salmon) were over crisply fried and the chicken who had laid my fried egg had done so in vain - it was way overcooked and dry. This was unlike the veg in the 2 beef bourguignon - the basis of the meal was beef and carrots so what we're the 'seasonal veg'?-carrots! but they were rock hard unlike the 2 pieces of swede (?) that had dissolved in the ample supply of gravy. Having said that and pushing the carrots to one side the meal was reasonably tasty. The burger meal was acceptable , one meal was a salad and thankfully did not need 'cooking'. My father in law had his statutory fish and scampi in batter and ,at 94, did not discern that the batter was somewhat overcooked also (unlike the accompanying pale fries). In view of the explanation that would have been required to non-existent waitresses and the worry it would have caused him, we did not attempt to send anything back. Eventually the plates were cleared and menus reappeared in a pile in the middle of the table for dessert choices - 3 desserts and 3 coffees were forthcoming which were satisfactory. Indeed one of the waitresses kindly offered to cut the birthday cake we had brought but arrived with it cut into superslim slices which had been cut straight across the cake from both ends rather than the usual 'from the middle' which provided two stubby pieces and 4 long ones! Overall , rather disappointing and even my father in law noticed the long faced waitresses. The return visit with other family visitors arranged for the weekend was hastily rescheduled!

Enjoyed a two night stay at the Invercarse Hotel. The room was as described in the website, it was compact but ideal for a short stay, with hairdryer, iron and ironing board, tea coffee making facility and wall mounted TV, but no fridge. The bathroom had a walk in shower and I particularly liked that there was a shelf for toiletries. The shower gel and hand wash was in wall mounted bottles rather than miniature sized bottles, as in some hotels. Sufficient towels on the heated towel rail and information that additional towels could be requested. Free wifi and parking was available. The staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and friendly. There was a lovely view from the Redwood Restaurant. I had the buffet breakfast two mornings, which I enjoyed and found the buffet was replenished, as and when required, without having to ask. In addition to the scrambled eggs on the buffet, there was the option to have freshly cooked eggs of your choice. Dinner in the restaurant was good. I would have liked more vegetarian options and for vegetarian meals to be identified on the menu, although staff were willing to check if the meal was suitable for a vegetarian. The hotel was a lovely venue for the wedding, The staff provided a very good service for the wedding meal and serving drinks. There is a good sized dance floor in the ballroom. The hotel is on a bus route, which is convenient for getting into the city centre. The staff were very helpful in explaining where to get on and off the bus. The hotel is also within walking distance of the Botanic Gardens. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
