Best Western Macrander Hotel Dresden

The hotel is new, nice and clean. It's a little far from Altstadt, you have to walk to the tram and take the tram (either 7 or 8) to the center. The room was almost double charged than usual because of the holiday. Very dissapointed to find out that no breakfast was offered for that high price and you had to pay 25 Euro to walk to the adjacent hotel and have breakfast there. There was a small kitchenette and the room had microwave and coffee machine. I felt there weren't enough power plugs in the room for so many appliqnces. It was very clean ans the room and the bathroom were large and spacious.

We only stayed for one night before heading off to the airport the next morning, but it was a good night's stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bed was nice and comfortable too. Plenty of restaurants just a few blocks away within easy walking distance.

For the life of me, I cannot comprehend how this hotel have 4 stars. When you look at Tripadvisor before you book the hotel, you get the impression that's it a 4 star hotel with many facilities. Well that's straight up wrong. I paid a 100 euros for a hotel room that looked like somewhere out of the 90's with no minibar and a toilet holder that broke apart the moment you touched it. But hey, you got a free bottle of sparkling water? I've stayed in a looot of 4 star hotels, but this was like staying in the hotel I stayed at on a study trip to Madrid. And that's definitely not a compliment! When checking in, I found out that all facilities listed are in the hotel next door, The Marriot Courtyard. The service was nice, but the food was horrible. I didn't even stay for the breakfast the morning after ew. Honestly maybe 2 stars are too much, but I had a really nice server at the restaurant, so that weighs up for a little. Also you couldn't enter the parking garage or get out of it, if you didn't have your key card. Which is absolutely brilliant when you have checked out and handed in your key card. Not. I will never ever recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Never ever Best Western again.

It is great that BW hotel can offer breakfast in classic, old-fashioned way. I am happy to eat the meal in the restaurant among other people and enjoyed it. The serving way was so ordinary, that has to be underlined and the food quality as well. I finished the meal and did not feel hungry, which is not the case in others places!

Decent hotel, confortable room, good breakfast. Nothing fance. Covered garage parking with upgraded room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not a facny place, but would stay there again. Pool was in next door facility, chose not to use it

We attempted to stay a the Courtyard (where we have stayed several times) but it was booked. They transfered us to their adjoining property - the Best Western. We figured it would be just as good. We were wrong. Staying there, you feel like a second class guest. Breakfast, gym, reception at night and even when you call the desk - it all is supported from the adjoining property. After dinner we came back to the hotel and had to enter from the alley because they lock the front door. I tried to get the WIFI to work for 2 hours before just joining the adjoining property's public site in 1 minute. I found out the next morning all 4 others in my party failed to get WIFI. Finally, we did not get breakfast included when they farmed our reservation to the Best Western. Overall it was FAR too complicated to stay there and not relaxing. I recommend staying at the Courtyard or go elsewhere.

Very nice pleasant staff friendly room clean modern and comfortable. Weirdly room had lots of coffee options , snacks and juice but no water .. Evening meal nice ,car park very tight and a challenge to access

Stayed two nights, decent breakfast. Comfy beds and reliable WiFi connection. They sell emergency items and snacks in the reception. Room got a kettle with tea and coffee. Quiet room and close to neustadt with plenty of bars and restaurants.

We choose the Best Western because of its global reputation, however, the best western in Dresden is not pulling it's weight. The parking felt like a scene from a horror movie and the room, although clean was very dated. I don't think they have had an update since the 80's. Overall, it delivered with usual Germany efficiency but I shall not be going back for more.

We enjoyed the free outside parking (paid if you want to park in a garage). The area towards new town had plenty of options for food. The rooms where not that modern, but they where sufficient and we could imagine staying there again. Staff was friendly.

For business stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Slept in a room on the backside. View to the hotel rooms of the marriot hotel. Free parking outside. Breakfast price was not included. Costs are for 2 times incl. Toeristtax 25 euro . Breakfast was good and a lot of choices in drinks, bread, scrambled eggs, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Would book again. Nice walking and running in Neustadt and along the Elbe.

+ good price overall (room with breakfast and parking) + pool and gym in the partner hotel (2 hotels are together) – reliable size for few people/small group + parking in the courtyard or underground garage + room and bathroom were simple but big + nice staff (at reception and also at breakfast) - staff at reception ok but inexperienced? / missing practice?, basic things must be asked, which at other hotels it is in the “welcoming text” (e.g.: breakfast, parking, services, etc.) - city center (new and old) is still in walking distance but no so close Summary: room and breakfast, hotel is ok but somehow missing flair…, it does not feel more than building with rooms… but some people like it so

Stayed there for three nights for customer visit. Room was a little tight, has bath tub. No refrigerator in the room, no water bottle on the second night. Good part was breakfast with variety of selections.

Visited this hotel now for fourth time last 2 years and very satisfied about hotel, room and service relaxed to the price of the rooms. Breakfast not cheap but worth the money, free parking and always very friendly staff. My favourite short stay hotel in Dresden

This hotel was pretty average, and surprisingly expensive for the facilities, inclusions and location. The hotel looks as though it was last renovated in the 70s or 80s, but at least it was clean. The first room we checked into smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, and we were eventually moved to a cleaner room after a bit of discussion with reception staff.

When traveling we always need a place that can provide a room that has no feather bedding. 99% of the time we have to leave the hotel because what they told you over the phone and what you discovered in the room where different. My husband is hyper allergic. I usually avoid any "pet friendly" hotels and this was one of them. In fact all the hotels seem to have a doggy dish near the front door. We are staying at the Best Western Macrander for 10 nights. The bedding is so comfortable and the room has French doors that you can open to get fresh air. No carpets in this room so it is nice and clean. We are in Room 712. Not sure if the other rooms have carpets. There is a bit of car traffic outside but I swear no one honks their horn here. The breakfast buffet is very good with salmon, fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit, cheese, cold cuts and eggs/sausage/bacon. Short walk to small neighborhood restaurants or you can go next door to the Holiday Inn for dinner or their gym/spa/pool.

I like the location and the service quality of this hotel when I visited this city for business. The reception staff are professional to provide direction and the services required and the room was quite open and plenty of space. I was surprised that they have air conditioner in room which makes me feel more comfortable when temperature was still high.

Quit located in Neustadt, good quality hotel for low price. Part of faciliteit can be used from " neightbour" Holliday Inn. ( parking , pool, fitness and sauna) withouten extra costs. Rooms have good site are complete including airco. Good buffet breakfast and very friendly hotel staff. Worth to return during my next Dresden visit.

We were welcomed by an extremely helpful and charming receptionist who gave us a lot of information about how to get into the city and back by tram. She wrote everything down for us so that we didn't get lost or go in the wrong direction, which has happened in the past! We went into the city in the evening and there was an open air concert outside the opera house,which was fantastic. We ate in a cafe at the side of the market square which was not very good. The following day we went back into the city again and visited several churches and museums. We ate at a street cafe which was very good value with schnitzel and frites plus a drink for €8.80. The hotel was very good and comfortable though the duvets were too small. The fitness centre is in the Holiday Inn next door and is good. The internet was free but we could not get it to work.

Unfortunately, my room is next to the road. Impossible to sleep even if there is not too much car. Soundproofing is near zero. The main goal of an hotel is to sleep. This goal is not achieved in this one. 2 Stars because it's at least clean.

Strange are some laws to get money from texpayers: one of them is that hotel guest now have to pay extra 4 euro to use the sauna... Beside that, the Best Western is what it pretends to be: a nice place to stay, super clean, good location, no chichi extras but all you need to have a good sleep in sleepy Dresden is there.

I was pleased to receive a confirming and welcoming email from the hotel not just when booking but a few days before our stay. We were given a warm welcome, the staff were helpful and their English good enough. We opted to use the secure underground carpark (11 Euros per day) partly because our car was full of camping gear! Our room was spacious, clean and tidy with a view over the courtyard. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the restaurant (we bought rolls from the Netto supermarket which is about half a kilometre away and ate at restaurants in the Old Town in the evening.) The tram stop is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and numbers 7 and 8 both take you to the Old Town (Alte Stadt). We invested in a 3-day Dresden City Card which not only covers public transport travel but also gives discounts for a variety of attractions. (I bought that on-line and collected it from the Tourist Information Office).So although the hotel is some distance from the city centre, we still found it convenient. It lies next to the Holiday Inn and you can use the swimming pool, gym, etc, although we didn't make use of this facility so, once again, can't comment. We'd definitely use the hotel again.

The rooms Were tidy. It is not a modern hotel. Breakfast was good, but a small selection. The staff was helpful and nice. The hotel is about 15 minutes by tram. Hotel is in a quieter part of town. Possibility of car parking at the hotel.

Comfortable rooms in a nice part of this historic town. The window ledge in my room had landmarks on it and a pair of binoculars to help you see them. When their restaurant is closed they have an arrangement with the Holiday Inn next door.

hotel was OK, Room is clean and spaciuos. Breakfast was Ok as well, Gym facilities in the near by hotel (holiday inn). Short on parking space. Rooms facing the street suffer from a lot of noise from the traffic. Free WIFI is a plus. Hotel BAR is a bit small and disappointing.
