Best Western Douglas Inn & Suites

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had plenty of options. There could not be a way you left hungry. The bed was comfortable and thr room was very spacious. Overall I would definitely stay at this Best Western again.

The hotel was extremely nice inside, no shortage of any items or cut backs like some places, who leave 'covid measures' in place. The Desk person was very friendly and professional, answered all my questions and gave great advice on a place to have dinner. The room was beautiful, very very clean and the entire hotel, from walking, in to the room, to breakfast and all the other amenities, showed the pride of the staff working there and the management. Great place to stay.

The staff was especially nice. The room was clean and had a really good set up for me to be able to work at a desk. The location was perfect for my trip and the hotel had all the amenities anyone would need.

Continental breakfast was till 10 am and we arrived at 9 am. The staff did not try to accommodate for the shortage of food. With no regard they just said, "That is all that is left" as we entered the eating area.

Spent two nights. Check-in quick and efficient. Lobby and room was very clean and well appointed. Included breakfast included eggs/toast/bagels etc... Plenty of parking in the rear of the hotel. Our room faced the highway but very little traffic at night. Only downside of the room was the noisy aircon, but that's typical of window units.

Very nice and quiet hotel. Clean rooms, LOTS of pillows! Due to the time of year and length of stay, I did not use the pool or spa, fitness room or laundry facilities. I really SHOULD bring my sweats and take a walk on the treadmill :-)

Decided to stay here, thinking it might have decent precautions in place to reduce covid transmission risk. That proved incorrect. MOST of the staff we encountered were not wearing masks, the few that were wore them improperly. Had signs plastered everywhere proclaiming that masks were required inside for everyone, but NEVER encountered a person inside wearing a mask & the staff did nothing to encourage masking. Usually there were 5 to 10 folks maskless lounging in the lobby--bad practice during a pandemic. To boot, other external entrances were nonfunctional due to a lack of maintenance. The failure of staff to wear masks properly was the WORST of any of the places we stayed over the course of the week in the area. Management plainly cares nothing about minimizing covid transmission to travelers or staff. Pathetic and irresponsible. When we arrived for checkin at 6pm, there was no one at the front desk for about 10 minutes. Happened about 4 times more during our 18 hour stay. I know staffing is tough during this time, but we didn't encounter this anywhere else during our week of travel in southern Arizona. Topping it off, the motel's rate was about 40% higher than any other place else we stayed on our trip in the area. Very not worth it. If you care about your health, I'd strongly recommend staying away. I won't repeat & I may not ever again consider staying in a Best Western. Glad it's in my rearview mirror!

Check in was great! Gentlemen behind front desk was so friendly it was if I had known him forever. Very helpful. Super clean. Did laundry while staying here, was priced reasonably and the dryers actually dried my clothes. Would stay here again and again!!!

Pros: Nice looking lobby. Our room was large with a tall ceiling, nice comforter on beds. Very nice hot breakfast with helpful server. Cons: Our room had poor lighting and no bench to set a suitcase on. Shower curtain too short so bathroom floor got wet, but my wife mopped it up with a towel. No outlet at bedside table to charge stuff. Both room lamps had holes in the old lampshades. We asked for a quiet room, motel only half-occupied, but at about 9 pm we were disappointed to hear next door a loud TV. Thin walls so you hear your neighbor. I called the front desk to complain but no one there, answering machine only. No visible desk clerk in the morning either.

One night stay for business, room was ready early. It was clean and spacious with a fridge and microwave. Employees here were extremely friendly and nice. breakfast was a little disappointing with limited healthy choices- There were 2 red apples - some yogurt- eggs and bacon. I really didn't see anything else so I skipped it all together. It was quiet, clean and convenient and that was all that mattered to me for one night. Fast food and a quick trip store within walking distance

It is clear that the ownership is trying to bring this place back to its former glory. Upon entering the lobby one must stop and take in the beautiful work that has been done. It is beautiful. However, even if funds are running short to continue the restoration (I am not sure that is the case), it would appear that very little has been spent on staff training. The room was from another era, but well enough equipped. As expected for a historic property. Juan at the from desk was very courteous and helpful. He wore many hats from desk clerk, to bell hop, to elevator operator, to fetcher of ice, to stair mopper (!), all with a smile. He could have used some background information in order to answer questions confidently about the hotel and about the area, since there was no concierge. The reason for the low rating is the dining room. Our server had no clue what he was doing. Asking how I wanted my eggs (over hard), his response was "there is no button for that." There was no coffee for breakfast because there was a problem with the grinder that they could not figure out. We had to suggest that maybe a blender in the kitchen could grind the beans. My breakfast sandwich had avocado on it that was totally brown. I would never have served this to a guest.. If we ever return to Douglas we would like to stay here again providing that the renovation and staff training has made more progress.

It's always nice to stay here. It's my go to place when I go there. The staff is always helpful and friendly. When I stay here it always super clean and the bed is my most favorite part. So comfy to where I don't want to get out of bed.

The front desk clerk wanted to argue with me about my reservation that I made through Best Western's website, telling me that I made a reservation for a room with two double beds, when I NEVER reserve a room with two double beds. I specifically reserved a jacuzzi king. So, standing there in the lobby, I made ANOTHER reservation, and showed him on my phone, and he STILL argued with me that I made the wrong reservation. So somehow, he figured it out after 20 minutes, and then I had to go and cancel the second reservation. Then, the jacuzzi timer in the room went off after ten minutes and we could not get it to work again. So, I called the front desk and said I wanted at least a discounted rate and they told me I'd have to speak to the manager in the morning.

Staff is always professional and helpful. Rooms are large and well maintained. Cleaning staff works hard for customers to feel safe during COVID-19. Breakfast options have improved over the years. All in all a nice place to stay.

I have no complaints, everything is very satisfactoryeducated trained staff cortez the clean rooms the environment that invites you to discover close to shops and restaurants Due to the covid19 situation, they are probably short on maintenance personnel, but until now I believe that the staff makes their best efforts to cooperate with the health regulations to avoid the spread of the virus, thank you very much and as well as take care of the visitors, take care of you that are an essential part of the economy

Excellent value for money dinner bed and breakfast. The food is good and plentiful. The staff are the stars of our stay. In particular Rowena went above and beyond in being helpful. Come to expect king size bed these days and pillows not so comfortable

The receptionist was very helpful after Expedia had booked me on the wrong date. But the price was much higher buying a room in person. Way too expensive! I stayed the next night at a Hampton inn in Gilbert AZ. That hotel was nicer and the price was 30%less.

Very clean, well managed hotel in Douglas, Az. If you have to go ,this is where you should stay. The others there are not so good. This hotel is over priced for Douglas. Nice pool that I did not use. Breakfast and other services closed due to Covid, but like other hotels, you get reduced service, no breakfast, fewer towels, and pillows, but not one cent less in price per night. decent

We stayed as a family for New Years Eve. We had a fun and comfortable stay. The employees definitely keep busy.... we joked that if you stood still too long they would clean you too. The property is new and fresh and clean and they obviously work to keep it that way. The breakfast was one of the best we've had at any of the Best Westerns we stay at always while traveling.

Front desk staff a bit "distant." Room large, clean, as was bathroom, comfortably furnished, but seemed under furnished with small desk for work area. Room was quiet and bed comfortable. Location is good. Having traveled extensively throughout the SW this facility seems to be a bit overpriced.

Spent several nights here while in town on business. The rooms are huge, but have these tiny little desks to try and work on, which seemed odd. There's certainly tons of room that they could have used for a bigger desk. The TV is also very small compared to the distance you view it from and the ample wall space. VERY few channel selections available. Bath is ok, but they have those awful built-in hairdryers. Rarely saw anyone at the front desk, especially at night. We would often stand there for a while before someone would acknowledge us and assist. Breakfast offerings are ok. Hotel is clean. No 'pantry' just beverage machines.

This property is always clean and comfy. There are not many places to stay in Douglas, AZ. I'm so grateful for this property as it is super clean and the only hotel we stay at during our travels to Douglas. Staff is always friendly and attentive to our needs.

Without the US Customs and Boarder Patrol jacking up the rates without having more permanent station people in the region the hotel would be fairly competitive, unfortunately that's not the case, you end up paying more then what you should pay

The hotel was very clean and classy. I would highly recommend for people to stay at this hotel because they have every ring you can possibly ask for and more including a gym! The breakfast was delicious and fresh from the food to the fruits.

Friendly and clean, take advantage of the local eats and visitor sights while you're there. It's the haute hotel of Douglas. The breakfast is decent but nothing special except for the homemade excellant REAL tortillas.

Every now and again a person gets that over the top service experience and this was the case as we checked into this motel. Maria welcomed us as we entered the motel and made us feel as though we were friends from the very start. The checkin was quick and efficient. The rooms are very nice sized and extremely clean. We are on motorcycles and she had us park them inside a fenced in patio Thanks you for the good experience.

Douglas BW employees were courteous and professional and had fresh cookies at check in. Breakfast area was clean and ready early. Room was spacious and clean! Internet was easy to use. Good cable options.

Best hotel in Douglas. The Gadsen has a restaurant hint. The AC units are noisy and not very efficient. The breakfast could be much better. Shuttle service to Walmart area and border would be a nice feature.

It is very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and courteous. The breakfast is very good. The eating area is clean and has a variety of food items. The person working in the breakfast area was friendly and courteous.

Overall the experience was fine. However, when we returned back to our room the 2nd day our room was never cleaned. We called downstairs to let them know and they basically said they don't know what happened. No apology, no question to whether we needed anything. We did need towels and finally we asked if they had some, they then said if we could come down to pick them up instead of bringing them to us. I then had to go downstairs to pick up the towels to where I was not again told "I'm sorry about that" or "Is there anything else I can help you with?" Training to say the least is needed for that receptionist.

While staying for a week in Douglas on business I made this hotel my base camp. It was a good choice. The hotel is located close to many of the stores and restaurants in Douglas. They offer a great breakfast with a pancake machine! Just press a button and two pancakes come out on a conveyor belt. Genius! The hotel is very clean. It is decorated in a funky retro vibe. The parking lot is well-lit free. The staff was very gracious and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We didn't know what to expect in Douglas but were pleasantly surprised. We thought it was a great hotel. We didn't have any noise issues. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice with several warm options. We slept very well. It was a great stay.

It's the only hotel in Douglas beside the low end (Motel 6) and the old school (Gadsden Hotel), cost is out of line with product, stayed in five star brand names in China in Shanghai for less cost. It's the only game in town

Good stay just 1 night, nice big rooms and nice breakfast area. never recieved my check out statement that was suppose to be emailed to us. the fan on the AC was really loud but it helped to drown out the room next to us that had the TV on all night.

Very clean hotel with great service and location. Whenever a great deal with a stay at this hotel I will always book at least 3 night stay with my kids, looking forward for more deal to stay again due to my travel.

It's clean and decent but nothing special. Unfortunately there's not much else in Douglas worth considering except perhaps the Gadsdon which is very nice and less expensive. I wanted a fitness center so chose this. Not sure that fitness center was worth it

This is a newer hotel. It is very clearly well maintained. Walking in to the hotel it immediately smells clean and is immaculate. Our room was the same experience. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff were always helpful.

We think it's overpriced for where it's at. Right at the Mexican border. There isn't much choice for lodging in town. This is the only major chain type hotel in town. There is a Motel 6 which is very bare bones and cheap. This is prime time in AZ. In summer BW may drop their price some. They will not match or beat any lower online prices. We needed two rooms, so it seemed high to us. Rooms are large, breakfast is good, beds comfy. Heating units are noisy, not thermostat, and go off and on all night. Traffic was not as noisy as we expected. My spouse grew up here and we visit family occasionally. He is dismayed at how the town has changed.

When you travel all the time, it is always good to feel like home. At a small town such as Douglas, AZ it is very nice to recognize a good brand of hotels and feel like home. Very well kept building, nice and comfortable rooms, friendly service and good breakfast.

This is a very nice hotel for a decent price. Secure rooms, lovely comfortable beds, and they offer a really nice breakfast in the morning. They have a large meeting room and internet in every room. Absolutely love the size of the rooms and the comfortable beds.

Typical good quality accommodations. Clean LARGE rooms with refrig and little microwave. One cup coffee maker. OUTSTANDING breakfast as part of the price. About as close to the border as you can get. McD is next door, along with the local emergency room hospital. To give you an idea how depressed this town is, the Denny's is closed as well as the Taco Bell. Putting a WalMart superstore in basically killed the downtown and small shops. Realize that there are probably 5 decent non-fast food places in the whole town.

This hotel has nice size rooms, a good air conditioner that stays on as long as YOU want it to and awesome pillows. The morning breakfast was rather bleak but it sufficed to get me to work. Its location to the border is great. You can walk to it. Not much to do in the area.

We had a few issues with this hotel. No one was at reception on arrival so we rang the bell, which was no big deal but when we came to leave the next morning, there was still no one at reception and the bell had disappeared so I had to lean over the desk and knock on the door to attract someone's attention. That morning I had slipped in the rather slippery bath and banged my head and elbow but the lady on reception was completely unperturbed by this and just pointed us in the direction of the doctor round the corner. As we were more focused on getting out of there, we didn't notice that they had charged us for the room that had previously been paid for by our travel company. This was only discovered when I checked the credit card statement on our return home. I have subsequently emailed the hotel but had no response to date. The hotel itself is pleasant and clean enough, as was the breakfast the next morning but beware of the slippery bath and check your receipt!

I travel a lot for work, so see many different locations. This BW is above average for this type of hotel. It seems relatively new or updated. It won't blow you away, but the rooms and lobby are nice and clean. There's a decent pool to enjoy as well. I have no complaints and would stay here again. The staff is friendly as well.

The hotel is fairly new. The room we had was clean and quiet even though there was a large party going on in one of the conference rooms down the hall. The hotel has a nice outside swimming pool. There is plenty of shopping and places to eat nearby.

Not many choices in this area. This hotel is your best option. Clean, pool, breakfast and business computers. Rates are slightly high though. Employees are friendly but the front desk often is not staffed and difficult to find someone when needed.

We rang ahead and spoke with Daniel who was very helpful, great guy, Mary at the Spa was super nice. The room was very clean. Everything we needed. My husband is 6 foot 7 and the bed was really generous. Lovely toiletries. Yummy hospitality tray. Free £5 bet at the casino and we won. Great views from the relaxing pool (bring flip flops). Just great. The staff make it special.

We are Best Western Diamond Select rewards members, in other words we stay at BW's a lot. At this level we are to receive some extras including a room upgrade. We had to demand this after going to the first room they gave us that had a cockroach in the bathtub. Not a good way to start a stay. But before we made it to the first room, when we arrived there was no one at the reservation desk or in the lobby. The girl that finally showed up was friendly but not very knowledgeable with BW's policies. At any rate, we stayed in a room on the second floor. The person above us paced the floor until 3 am when we had enough of trying to sleep through this noise and called the front desk. There was peeling paint in several places in the room and someone had put their foot through the bathroom door and it was very poorly patched. These are things you expect in a cheap hotel - not a BW. The pool was closed due to bees. Breakfast was just okay. There was limited items to choose from. We would not stay there again.

This place needs nicer rooms. Better accommodations for extended periods of stay. Better laundry equipment. Better pest/bug control. One of my favorite shirts had a hole burned through it from using the dryer in the laundry room. Also, I keep running into little bugs in my bathroom.

The rooms were nice. We had a single king bed and had plenty of room in the room. The breakfast was typical for a BW so no complaints there. Not far from downtown or the border if you're interested. It's what I've come to expect from BW and they didn't let me down.

This was my first time visiting Douglas, AZ, as this is a small town, there aren't many options to stay at; in fact, I believe this Best Western Hotel might be the only one affiliated to a nation wide chain of hotels. It really keeps up to the standards of Best Western Hotels, spacious rooms, facility very well kept, breakfast is good and the personnel very customer service oriented.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, we found the rooms to be large, clean, smelled fresh. The staff were all friendly and we felt comfortable. We visited a Mexican restaurant down the street and it was very good. We were able to visit the area on our Trike and enjoy the warm weather.

Newish, modern Best Western. Lots of parking, large clean rooms. Met my expectations. Walking distance to several restaurants. My first choice in Douglas is the Gadsden because of the experience in that unique hotel but the Best Western makes a good alternative if the Gadsden 's limited amount of rooms are sold out.

Bed sheets looked worn/dirty. For white sheets, I would expect clean white bed sheets. Rest of the hotel was good. Would recommend the hotel having a restuarant in the lobby as Douglas, Arizona does not have many choices for dinner.

Nice hotel, big rooms, good breakfast. I would stay there again! Lots of Free parking. Only negative was need to staff the front desk without having to call them from back office. You could look out your window and see Mexico

I have been a guest at the Best Western here in Douglas, Az for about 5 months now on a work detail. My overall experience has been excellent due to the wonderful staffing. The rooms and floors were clean at all times and the front desk associates were professional and courteous. I'd like to personally thank Juan Quijada, Maria, and Liz for going above and beyond on making the guests here feel like home and family. I would recommend the stay here at this location to anyone traveling to Douglas.

This is the nicest hotel in Douglas. The rooms are clean, the hotel is attractive (typical Best Western accommodations). The staff is friendly and they have a nice fitness center. The only complaints were small pillows (you may want to bring your own if that is important) and terrible bath towels (thin, and very rough). The beds were comfortable though, and the a/c was quiet and kept the room comfortable.

Overall it is a good choice for staying in Douglas AZ. It is 3 stories. I think the price is a bit high and the wall/floor/insulation is poor making neighbors noise a bit irritating. The AC units are under the window and the fan is loud, but this helps drown out neighbors. The breakfast is OK and the location is close to fast food restaurants, walmart, gas station, drug store.. The TV gets about 12 channels. The rooms have a fridge and microwave which is nice. Parking is front and rear. I has a pool, hot tub as well for those hot days.

Excellent staff and service to be found at Best Western, Douglas AZ. I have stayed at this facility on an off for several weeks. For the few problems I have encountered; ie switching out a broken office chair, needing a light bulb, have been remedied promptly and to my satisfaction.

From check in to check out the only thing positive was the front desk staff at check out. Our reservation was wrong, they gave us keys to rooms already occupied. After an hour at front desk they found us two rooms near each other as we had requested and they had shampooed the carpets and they were still wet. Internet didn't work. Front desk staff at check in was frazzled and then rude when I told them internet wasn't working. He said "I have internet on my phone".. that's not BW wifi. and then "internet on this computer is working" again, that's not their wifi it's a direct cable.

This hotel is very nice, modern, well kept up and the service is great. It is definitely the best hotel in town. I highly recommend it. It is a bit pricey for the area but worth the extra money to have such a nice place to stay.

Not clean at ALL , switched rooms 3 times and all of them had a cleanliness issue, housekeeping did a poor job. Had to check out early ! Staff was not rude but was not very helpful. Alot of times they were hard to find!

The Douglas, AZ Best Western majority front desk staff appear to not want to be there. The internet was not working for 2 weeks. There was a fire alarm that sounded on and off an entire night. The walls are extremely thin, but I chose to move to a better floor where the noise was reduced. Overall, I was not impressed.

Internet was broken for whole trip. The staff either had the inability or did no care to fix it. There was no management in site able to take care of the problem. I called and outside help desk and had more information on the problem then the staff.

Great hotel and excellent breakfast...would definitely recommend it to others. This is a remote area next to the Mexico boarder but it is the best hotel in the whole town! Everyone was friendly and helpful during our stay.

Very clean hotel. Rooms are in great shape. The beds were super comfortable. The shower is amazing. The bathroom is very large and accommodating. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return to this hotel.

This hotel is very clean and quiet. Breakfast is pretty good. We always stay here when we come to Douglas and enjoy using the pool and the fitness center. The internet has gotten much quicker and does not sign you out. The beds are comfy but the pillows are hard so I bring my own.

This hotel is located near several restaurants for convenience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were there for our mother's funeral services so we had several reservations. Thanks to Maria, she was able to help us on such short notice with room rates for all. Upon departing, we were assisted by Louie who was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot with a nice meeting area to gather with all the family. Rooms were very clean.

Wonderful experience for us....ages 10-66! Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, sparkling pool and jacuzzi, and delicious full breakfast each morning. The location is also convenient to nearby restaurants and stores for the trip essentials. A nice walking path and historical landmarks teaching the history of Douglas are just outside the hotel. Our choice hotel when we travel!

Wie stay here at the best Western Douglas every time We come to this area . It has a wonderful staff comfortable rooms and a nice pool . You cannot beat having such a nice place to stay in with a great breakfast in the morning . During our last day we had a problem with noisy neighbors and the staff handled it very well and quickly moved us to another room that was nice and quiet and had a much better sleep ...cannot say enough nice things about the staff great hotel

The hotel was just okay for the price. Clean rooms and friendly staff, but the bed was crappy, sheets were old and the price just too high for location and quality of sleep experience. Also the shampoo was so tiny. Gym was meh. And of course the town itself doesn't justify such a price except that it is near the border.

Our very large family gathered to say goodbye to a loved one. The staff at the hotel was very accommodating to the large gathering. The rooms were clean and spacious and the added benefit of breakfast was a great addition. In a small town with limited options, this was a great place to stay.

What a nice place, despite the run-down town! Since we'd only made our reservation two days prior, they only had a king size suite available but with AARP rates, it was only $125. Very nice room! Clean, comfortable, and it was nice having the extra space. We've been traveling since 6/3 and stayed her 6/12 and we've always requested lower level because we were traveling via motorcycle and like to park it as close to our room as possible. This time we were on the third floor and I'm so glad. It was so nice and quiet. The bed was quiet comfortable. Alexandra checked us in and she was very, very nice and helpful.

Great place to stay in Douglas-by far the nicest. Great staff, good breakfast, clean rooms. I've stayed here for more than a week. Very impressed. Claudia, the receptionist, is the best part. Very helpful and efficient. Also the property is centrally located by restaurants and amenities.

This is probably the newest and best hotel in Douglas Arizona. It is close to local businesses and plenty of restaurants close by to eat. I will definitely stay here next time I am in Douglas. Great historic sites to see between here and Bisbee.

Wonderful to stay at. This hotel is close to some very nice restaurants, Walmart and the Mexican border. The rooms are large, quite, and well stocked with towels. The breakfast is hot and has a great selection of fruits, yogurt, and pastries.

We came to this hotel for a charity event in the area. We were very surprised that the hotel was very nice and quiet. The staff was very helpful and informative. Our room was a nice size and colorful. We would definitely stay here again.

I am a Marriott/Hilton person, but stayed at this Best Western and was pleasantly surprised. Clean room, friendly staff.. Hot breakfast (eggs too salty)... Staff was very helpful with information about Douglas and the surrounding area.

One of the poorest customer service hotels I've stayed at in a long time. Been to 30 countries and this rates near the bottom. A very nice facility but the service is horrible. The staff are not all on the same page and need training in customer care skills...

Typically don't stay at this chain. But being there is really nothing better in Douglas, gave it a chance. Very surprised to see it compare to some of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've recently stayed at. Even better than some. Only gripe was the handicapped accessible room, but I arrived early, and it was sold out otherwise. Room 214 was good, surprisingly quiet for being close to elevator. Water drained slowly in the sink, otherwise everything was up to expectations. Breakfast was ample and very similar to holiday Inn. Would stay again if I'm in the area.

At approximately 9:30 PM, the fire alarm went off. The hotel was evacuated. We were not given time to get anything - left my car keys behind, which was the bad mistake. In pajamas and slippers, thin jacket, all the guests and hotel staff stood in the cold, windy night while scores of firemen combed the hotel for the source of the fire for several hours. No actual fire was found, but the alarms kept going continually until midnight. We were allowed back in to our rooms. Thereafter the alarms kept going off every ten minutes or so, Finally all was quiet around 3:30 AM. I had to get up at 5:30 AM to continue my travel. When checking out at 7:00 AM, I complained to the front desk person about the lack of sleep, etc. While I realize it wasn't his fault, he did promise a small discount on my bill. The discount appeared in my bank account, but then when the charges finished processing, the discount had disappeared. So not only did I get 2 hours or less of sleep, I also got duped on the discount! Through the ordeal, the hotel staff never gave us any information. We, the guests, had to listen to the firemen and get the news from each other. The situation was handled very poorly. Very bad experience.

When I made reservations I requested a ground floor room due to my arthritis and difficulty walking. When I checked in I was told there were no ground floor rooms left. I was assigned a room on the third floor. Next time I will check my reservation and CONFIRM they have what I want - or find another motel. On check-in, the Express Checkout was offered and I accepted. That too did not happen. On the plus side, the room was very nice and the bed was excellent! Very, very comfortable. The courtesy breakfast was well laid out and appealing. There was a wide array of pastries, cereal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and juices. Wish they would have had English muffins and bacon (I'm not a sausage fan) but other than that it was very tasty. And they kept the items well-stocked. The hotel was excellent. Not so much with the service.

We tried to get into Bisbee to stay and could not because of holiday on Monday for Presidents' Day. They recommended Best Western in Douglas 20 minutes away. Room was clean service was good. A nice place to stay. Not to many restersunts close so drove to one on main.

I have stayed at BW many times and I am extremely pleased with the quality of this hotel, especially being so close to the border. The rooms are very clean and well kept including the bathrooms. The breakfast area is fantastic, always stocked and very clean. All of the staff are extremely nice and go out of their way to assist you in any way, from check-in to check-out.

A very nice hotel. I have stayed there many times for business and pleasure over the last 6 years. It has changed some over the years with breakfast items but overall the breakfast is descent. My only complaint is If you are staying for than week and need to do some work online the Internet wi-fi service is up and down.

We stay here once a year for business. It is clean, bed is comfy, quiet rooms & breakfast is pretty good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, make your own pancakes are only a few of the items. The fresh cookies at night on check-in are tasty. We'll be back next year.

Real nice accomodations.... stayed two nights visiting family. The international border to Agua Prieta, MX was 2 to 3 blocks away. Clean, nice layout, super comfortable bed and linens. This is the only motel I'll stay at In Douglas. Will be back Thanx!

The hotel is fine insofar as its physical facilities go: nice rooms, nice pool, the best in Douglas. The staff is a real problem, though. When I checked in there was no one at the desk or anywhere to be found--it was as if the hotel had been abandoned. A TV was blaring in the lobby but nothing else. After about 10 minutes a man and a woman came out of a room in the back and I was checked in. But the real problem was a breakfast: there was no one in charge. Breakfast had been laid out, but nothing was replaced because there was no one to replace things. Thus you had the ludicrous situation of cereal with no milk, empty coffee jugs, and when hot food was gone it was gone. Mention of this to the person at the desk elicited the enigmatic reply that the person in charge of the breakfast had to leave for a few minutes, but from the time we started breakfast until we checked out was well over an hour and there was no one in sight. This hotel needs to rethink its staffing.

Great hotel and wonderful people. Had to go for work and was pleasantly surprised at how great this hotel was. The hotel was clean, comfortable, the breakfast was amazing and I would definitely go back. Thank you!!

We had to stay for 4 days in the Douglas area and the Best Western was the only 3 star hotel available. The staff is nice and always willing to help, if possible. In these kind hotels the staff is limited. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedcomfort is standard and ok for short stay. The internet is claimed to be high speed, but it might be a dream for the future. For business completely insufficient, however free of charge. There´s a pool and a small gym, but of good quality. Breakfast is included (please try to judge...). Free parking, CVS around the corner and the Mexican border on 1/2 mile distance (so is the Walmart, Taco Bell and other typical fast food restaurants). Warning: there´s no descent restaurant to find in Douglas. The best coffee you can get in Bisbee (Coffee company), just 17 miles to go. We had a good stay and it´s not fair to compare this kind hotels with higher ranked hotels. It´s a honest stay for a very good price.

My family and I have stayed here a few times in the past and I personally have noticed a change of staff more often than other hotels and believe that's what affects the lack of quality of customer service. This hotel in particular has some sort of agreement with government agencies and most of the guests that do stay are federal agents that work various hours, so try to imagine a military barracks where you have those few youngsters that have a lack of respect for other's sleep and peace and quiet. I stayed on the first floor and from 8pm to past midnight the guest above us was doing various activities where he/she had quite a heavy foot. I brought this upto the front desk at 10pm, a reasonable time that most people turn in. I was told it would be taken care of. This continued till past midnight. I took medication that specifically requires no operating of heavy machinery, however, the noise was so intense that my family and I could not tolerate it any further. I called the front desk again and was told there was nothing they could do. Perhaps they value government contracts more than regular guests. I invited the gentleman at the front desk to listen to the noise and he declined. I told him I hadn't slept and he fired back that he hadn't either, he doesn't see that he gets paid to not sleep while I paid to not sleep :-/ mind you he had a visitor he had been speaking with since this situation had arised and I could tell he was bothered that I interrupted his visit. I told him I was thinking about checking out and informed him that I had taken medication and I shouldn't be driving a vehicle, should anything happen to me or my family I would hold him and the hotel liable. He said do what you want to do, I checked out, called Best Western customer service but got their reservation line since guest relations was closed. Luckily, I found a somewhat reasonable and quiet hotel to check into and got some much deserved rest to continue about my day. Lesson, ladies and gentlemen, this hotel is for government agents, not regular guests. It's guaranteed money for Best Western and they refuse to tend to the regular guests. Be very cautious staying here!

The hotel is a wonderful place to stay in the area. The entire staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was spacious, cleaned daily, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast bar offers cereal, pancakes, breads, muffins, biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage/bacon, coffee and juices.

We usually opt for the cheapest motels but couldn't find anything that looked decent in the town. The Best Western was available and we spent a great night relaxing and enjoyed the pool, hot tub and free breakfast. The rooms were clean, staff very pleasant and we won't cheap out again. Going to be staying at BW's from here on out.

While I have lived my entire life in AZ and traveled and stayed in almost every part, this was my first trip to Douglas and so I knew little of the accommodations other that what I saw online. Many of us have made reservations based upon the pictures and reviews online only to be a bit disappointed when we arrived. That was not the case here at all. The rooms were very reasonably priced and hotel was clean and staff professional. The breakfast could use a little more variety which would not be a problem if you only stayed a day or two but it was tasty, hot and fresh. The only problem I had at all was spotty and intermittent internet service but I was on the top floor in a corner and maybe the WiFi signal just needed to be boosted a bit. I would certainly stay again if travel took me to Douglas and would highly recommend the property.

Looks nice and fancy. But typical best western. The free breakfast wasnt that great, very runny watery eggs and was not impressed with the selection. The room was nice. And the mattress was the best part. Had to be carfully in the shower as the tub was very slippery.

Rooms are clean, comfortable, well laid out and attractive. The staff is friendly and efficient.The breakfast is on par with other hotel chains that offer the same type of program. However, the internet system is terrible, slow and the connection intermittent.

Douglas is limited on their hotels. I have stayed here many times and I have always had a good stay. I usually stay 4 nights so to say it is a good stay is well earned. Even with it being so close to theories of Mexico I feel safe inside the hotel. The amenities around it are pretty good which makes the stay even better. It is my go to hotel in Douglas.

Very nice property new, large rooms, quite. Staff needs more training. Pool has handy cap equipment. Front desk staff not attentive talking on cell phone, Cleaning person moped entire entry no walk path, and did this big space and the elevator and 3 floors of vending rooms without ever ring out mop.

This hotel is top quality. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It is the "best" Best Western I have stayed at. Cleaning personnel did an excellent job on the room and were extremely helpful when I need something. Thank you Douglas Arizona Best Western.

I stay here frequently for business and it is always clean. Overall the rooms are fine and the hot water and water pressure are fine. Internet connectivity is sketchy, I never get a strong solid signal. The bed pillows are not comfortable, but I find that all the pillows in the Best Western chain are all similar.....all uncomfortable. Breakfast selection is fine for a typical business hot plate breakfast. Orange juice could be better. Overall, fine place to stay for a good night's sleep in Douglas, AZ.

A new hotel. Staff were OK. Arrived after four hour drive looking forward to time by the pool to find no shade at all and a swarm of wasps apparently living there. Be careful of scorching hot water in shower....scalding a distinct possibility. Walkable to fast food places and huge Walmart and other shops. Practically at Mexican border. Wifi was out for whole of our stay...really annoying.

From the picture of the property on the website we felt this would be a great place to stay. Looks fairly new so must be good. First thing we saw when we checked in was the entry way filthy carpet located by the registration desk. I called the day before to verify reservations for 2 dbl queen rooms. I also asked that the rooms be located close to each other. No problem I was told. Day of check in we were assigned rooms on opposite ends of the property. At least they were on the same floor. I guess that was supposed to satisfy our disappointment. The next morning when we went to breakfast at 7 we were told that the waffle maker was broken and would be replaced with a pancake maker for the following morning. As we left the property on the first morning about 10:30 AM we noted that the staff was eating pancakes in the breakfast room. The following morning at 7 when we went to breakfast we were told that there was no more pancake batter, sorry. But as we again left the property at around 10:30 AM or so we again noted that the staff was once again having pancakes, etc. So much for taking care of the customers. When using the business center on the first full day of our stay I noted that it had not been cleaned up. There was half filled coffee cups, a partial bottle of water and ashes on the counter. On our checkout day at breakfast we were entertained to the server running the vacuum in the check in area. Not a very appealing sound when trying to eat breakfast. It was after the breakfast hour had started. That type of housekeeping should have been done before the breakfast hour or after the breakfast hour. All in all, things were not as expected and I would find another property to stay at should we be in that area again.

Stopped here based entirely on TA reviews on a recent southern AZ. roadtrip. Everything one would want. Clean, quiet, comfortable bedding. Friendly staff on check in & out. Going to Douglas ? ask yourself why, then reserve a room here as they do book up & Douglas isn't the kind of place I want to go with the alternatives.

This hotel is very well kept. It has been in Douglas for at least 4 years. This was the second time that I have stayed in it. I was a little disconcerted when I checked in because there were several young men in the lobby. They were laughing and joking in Spanish. It took me a few minutes to feel comfortable. When I travel along I like to be extra careful. When I tried to use the single serve coffee pot in the room I saw that the pod container was missing. The instructions on the pod package were for using the pod container. I asked at the front desk and was informed that all that was needed was in the pod package. Perhaps this notice could be placed in the room for those of us who have used this type of coffee before and could be confused as I was. Overall my stay at the Douglas Best Western was very good and I would return to stay.

Douglas was not supposed to be our destination, but if you happen to be here this is the best place to stay. The staff were so friendly and booked us in short notice. The hotel is really clean and so comfortable. Really comfortable. Wished we could live there let alone sleep another night. Shower good, bed just right and breakfast wonderful. Would recommend anyone to stay here as it has every modern amenity.

Very Happy honest and professionalism was provided, The staff was quickly to provide contact information on status and said they would call back and provided manager information once we told them that we left gifts behind. We sent representatives to motel and and they quickly discovered our watch. Thank you

This is one of the nicer Best Westerns I have been to. I travel from coast to coast. Newer hotel with big rooms and beds. Bathrooms are large with great water pressure for showers. The breakfast has many selections to chose from and has never been dried out or over cooked. Over all great stay at the Douglas Best Western.

Other than the small town snottiness given by a small town staff, this is the only good hotel in Douglas, AZ. You do receive the best quality room and bed for your stay. The price is a bit expensive because this hotel knows that they are the only good hotel in this town.

I had a bad experience at another motel in town and went to Best Western in the middle of the night. The gentleman at the counter took care of my family and i as if we were part of his. Excellent service.

We had read that this hotel was not a good place to stay, but we experienced no problems, it was clean, modern the breakfast was good and never ran out of anything. If we find ourselves back in the area we will stay here again

I was concerned about finding a decent hotel in the small town of Douglas Arizona. I called when I was about 100 miles out, and made reservations. The desk attendant was very friendly. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find great accommodations, friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast buffet. I would stay there again if I ever back that way.

We had a large, clean room with all the amenities we expect--coffee, fridge, AC, toiletries, etc. The receptionist was friendly and helped us select a place for dinner. Unfortunately, there is a very poor selection of TV channels and that is a problem because when the sun went down at 5:00 p.m. there was nothing to do in Douglas other than watch TV. It is for this reason I am giving the hotel 3 rather than 4 stars.

Traveling for business but internet signal got lost very often. Invoice was not sent by email as requested at check out time. Bedding was very confortable and breakfast had a very good choices. Great and safe location, close to restaurants, shopping and mexican border.

Nice hotel to stay if you are in the area, you do not have that many of choices. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Internet connection is not that great, during my last stay connection had a slow performance.

i turned on the heater, and it started to smell like burning something, i turn it off, but all the room stay smelling like fire, grr.. the sink was clogged, in the breakfast, the eggs omelett was so cold, were my worst nights. and the manager so ignorant about the process to exempt taxes.

With the exception of having facial tissues instead of napkins the stay was ery good. The front desk staff was very helpful - we actually stopped in before check-in to get recommendations on places to eat.

We stopped by the motel before check-in to get a restaurant recommendation. The front desk person was very helpful. The room was clean and was quite roomy. Bathroom was also clean and everything worked fine. This could have been an excellent rating if the breakfast was just a bit better. No coffee - took quite a long time to get refills. The area could have been a lot cleaner - suggest the person responsible for the counter stay closer. No napkins - only tissues and then that box was empty after a bit.

If you are traveling to Douglas, AZ then you already know that there limited places to stay. This is the nicest and cleanest place we have found in Douglas. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were okay. The room was well cleaned and smelled nice. We had a third floor room and it had a really pretty view of the surrounding mountains. The shower was nice but they have a shampoo conditioner combo so you might want to bring extra conditioner. It came with a complimentary breakfast which was the usual. They offered the make your own waffle, which is my family's favorite, no fruit though. The staff was friendly and greeted everyone with a smile.

The walls are dirty but the beds are clean. Room is ok. Pillows are half size. From what I hear from locals this is as good as it gets in town. Walking distance to Mexico border. Decent breakfast provided.

We only stayed here for one night in a ground floor King room looking out onto the pool. All was as you would expect from a Best Western Hotel, comfortable bed, standard breakfast with healthy choices as in fresh fruits, yoghurt & boiled eggs.

Stayed 1 night and hotel was up to the standard you would expect from Best Western. Good size room, comfortable bed, good wi-fi and OK breakfast. Reception staff were pleasant and efficient in our dealings. Happy to recommend.

Best hotel you can find in Douglas, AZ vicinity. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff is helpful and kind. This was my second visit in 3 months to this hotel and they still having issues with the WiFi Internet connection. Connection performance is slow and in drops constantly. I reported this issue to the front desk with no resolution.

Save your money and check in somewhere else, You'll be better off. Too many bugs crawling around th room, No a very good selection in programming on the television, Beverage machine has no beverages , just water. They don't handle noise from children running back and forth very well, I couldn't get any sleep for two nights with no consideration in moving the children to a room with no one under them. No compensation for my loss of sleep or consideration to move me. The breakfast wasn't quite up to par with what I consider a continental breakfast. Many times no one at the front desk for quite some time.

Nice hotel up to Best Western standards. Overall very nice staff and clean rooms. Beds a bit on firm side but very comfortable. Lots of pillows!! Complimentary breakfast was ok with all the standard items offered. Orange Juice was very watered down and not pleasing.
