I spent 10 nights there. Overall a good experience. Nice and helpful staff, from reception to housekeeping. Room is comfortable though the pillows are a bit too stiff. Bathroom is fine but it's time to move to a liquid soap. Breakfast is ok - eggs, biscuits, waffle and juice. Coffee however is bad. Housekeeping came very late everyday and sometimes didn't come.
We hold a family reunion every year in October. This is the 2nd year we have stayed at this hotel. We have had a great experience. We reserve about 7 or 8 rooms for out of state family. This year the staff was exceptional and really help make our time together special. I want to single out Claire for her kindness and willingness to help us with whatever we needed. We had a few members that were in their 90's and the hotel was very accommodating with their needs. Thank you so much for making our reunion special. We will be back next year!
Compared to my last visit, I was very pleased with my latest visit. It seems as if this Best Western is under new management. Everything was working properly. Even the TV worked. I have no complaints. Monica at the front desk was very helpful.
I had been staying at the Best Western Plus Texoma Hotel & Suites located in Denison, Texas. I was staying here 6 times a year for about 3 years. I am a 68-year-old woman who travels solo. I carry 2 duffel bags, a computer bag and 2 heavy coolers full of food and drinks for my 18-hour drive. I always request a particular room because it is only 5 steps out the side door where there is a small parking area where I am able to park right outside the door. It was great, only 10 steps from my room to my car. I still need to make 3-4 trips from my car to my room, but by having this particular room, that's about as easy as it's going to be. I make my reservations about 4 weeks in advance and request the same room each time. Each time, my request for that room was honored. Each time I check-in, I can see that they have my printed reservation on their desk, with a room key, just waiting for me to arrive. I made a reservation for May 21, 2024. The A/C in my car quit working that morning. I spent the entire drive in 95° Texas heat. After 8 hours I was completely exhausted and about to pass out from the heat. When I walked into the lobby, there were 3 police officers and 2 firefighters standing there. A firefighter asked me if he could help me. I said I had reservations. He said that I couldn't stay there tonight. He said that they had to get everyone out of the hotel. He told me to go to the desk and the lady would cancel my reservations, refund me and make a reservation for me at the hotel across the highway. I agreed to that. What other choice did I have? However, I needed this stay for the promotion going on at that time. So, that messed me up as far as the promotion was concerned. I made a reservation for July 30, 2024. Again, I had made this reservation 4 weeks in advance. When I got to the hotel there was quite a few construction workers staying there. I went to check-in and was given a different room….on the 2nd floor. I asked what happened to the room that I requested and I was told that they were busy that evening. I told them that I made the reservation 4 weeks ago and that particular room should have been reserved for me at that time. It doesn't matter how busy they are tonight. This puts me in quite a bind. I had to take all those heavy coolers and bags, one at a time, down a very long hall, to the elevator, then back down another long hall to my room. I had to do this 4 times and in 95° Texas heat. THOSE COOLERS ARE HEAVY. I went down to the room that I had requested, only to find a burly guy in his 20's in that room. I'm sure he NEEDED that room more than this 68-year-old woman with a bad back and no-one to help her. There were rails on the elevator walls and I noticed a screw holding one of the rails, was falling out. When I finally got all my bags and settled in, I pulled down the covers on the bed only to find A PILL laying right on top of the fitted sheet as I was getting ready to lay down. A PILL!!!! Good thing I found it and not a small child. The next morning, I went down to get breakfast, when I got back to my room, there was a pile of bedding outside my door and a housekeeper was in my room with all my possessions. I wanted to lie back down; it wasn't anywhere near check-out time. I asked her why she was in my room, when all my possessions were clearly still there and I hadn't checked out yet. She just said sorry and left. I made a reservation for August 6, 2024. Again, I had made this reservation 4 weeks in advance and again I had requested that one particular room. I got to the hotel at 8 PM, after 8 hours of driving. When I walked into the lobby it was PACKED. I lost count at 37 construction workers. They just kept coming. They were coming from down the halls, out from the elevator, I lost count at 37. Each one of these guys had a cooler and 2 duffel bags. That's at least 74 duffel bags, 37 coolers and 37 guys. I walked up to the desk and said that I had a reservation. They told me that I had all these guys ahead of me and that I would have to wait until they were done with all these guys. I said that I had a reservation. I looked down on their desk and I could see MY printed reservation with the room key laying on top and only one other reservation there besides mine. The lady told me to have a seat and wait. HAVE A SEAT? WHERE? I travel solo, I am very careful about not advertising that I am alone. I do things when I get gas, eat meals, etc. just so that people won't realize that I'm alone. There is NO WAY I am going to sit ALONE with all those guys. NOT A CHANCE. Women, you know what I mean. This infuriated me. Who would do this? How does this make sense? Wouldn't it make sense to take care of the 1 old lady and let her get to her room and settle in for the evening? What kind of sense does it make to force a 68-year-old woman to wait for a minimum of 37 strong men? The reservation and the room key were sitting right there. It would have taken 3 min. to take care of me and let me get to my room to rest. But NO! I decided to go out to my car where I have a thick cushion, I can recline my seat, call my son and watch videos…... in 95° Texas heat. I called Best Western Customer Service and explained the problem. I was told by a very uncaring man that they couldn't do anything about it, that I needed to call Best Western Customer Relations. I called BW Cust Relations and got an even ruder man. He treated me like a was a “Karen”. Like I was just complaining about not being waited on first. He told me that the construction guys were entitled to a room also. GOOD GRIEF. I NEVER said that these guys shouldn't get a room at all. He was too obtuse to even try to understand that this situation had nothing to do with wanting to be “first” or to be waited on before anyone else. This had to do with my SAFETY. DUH! Who can't understand that placing a woman among 37 men isn't a good idea? Who can't understand that a woman does not want to be put into the situation where she is thrown into a group of 37 men? Apparently, the Best Western Plus Texoma Hotel in Denison, Customer Service AND Customer Relations can't understand that concept. Why is that so hard to understand? It had NOTHING to do with being waited on first. It had everything to do with my safety. After a while, I fell asleep, in my car, in 95° Texas heat, in the parking lot of the hotel where I had reservations. Does that make sense? At about 9 PM I woke up and went inside the lobby. There were 19 men still waiting in the lobby. I walked up to the desk, I looked down and pointed to my reservation and room key and asked to check-in. Again, they told me that these other guys ahead of me and they wouldn't wait on me until they were done with all of them. I went back out to my car and fell asleep again, in 95° Texas heat, in the parking lot of the hotel where I had reservations. At no time did ANYONE consider my safety. At 10:30 PM, I woke up and went back into the lobby and finally was able to check-in. It took 2 ½ HOURS!! 2 ½ HOURS later I finally was able to check-in. While standing at the desk to check-in, I could hear footsteps coming up behind me. I turned around and one of the construction workers had walked up behind me. He had tattoos covering his ENTIRE face AND neck! YIKES!! OF COURSE, I didn't get the room I had requested on my reservation. OF COURSE, my room was on the 2nd floor, AGAIN! OF COURSE, once again, I asked “Did I get room 100?” OF COURSE, once again they said that the hotel is so full that they were not able to put me in that room. Once again, I said that I had made this reservation 4 weeks ago and that the room I requested should have been reserved for me at that time. So, at 11 PM I was finally able to start carting all my heavy coolers, bags, etc. one at a time, into the hotel, then down the farthest end of the hall to the elevator. When I got into the elevator there were 3 burly guys in there. NO WAY I'M GETTING INTO THAT ELEVATOR WITH 3 ENORMOUS GUYS. NOT A CHANCE. So, I acted like I forgot something and walked away. When I finally got into the elevator, the rail on the wall that had a screw missing last week was completely ripped out of the wall along with the other 2 rails. I had to repeat this 3-4 times to get all of my belongings from the car to my room. Mind you, It's 11:30 PM by this time. Each time I go out to my car to get another bag or cooler, I am having to wait because all these guys are using the elevator too, and like I said, NO WAY I'M GETTING INTO THAT ELEVATOR WITH ENORMOUS GUYS. NOT A CHANCE! The elevator was dirty with big dirt clods all over the floor. When I would go out to my car, it was a constant stream of these guys going out to smoke and coming back in again. IT WAS SCARY!! IT WAS CLOSE TO MIDNIGHT AND I WAS STILL GETTING THINGS FROM MY CAR AND TAKING THEM TO MY ROOM. I HAD A RESERVATION, AND YET, I HAD TO SLEEP IN MY CAR FOR 2 ½ HOURS IN THE TEXAS HEAT, IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE HOTEL WHERE I HAD A RESERVATION. That doesn't even make sense. At midnight I finally got all the bags and coolers into my room and was able to settle in. I arrived at the hotel at 8PM and I didn't get settled into my room until MIDNIGHT. THAT'S 4 HOURS. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE!! The next morning, I took a few of my bags out to my car to get a jump on things. When I got back up to my room, a housekeeper was getting ready to walk into my room. I had to stop her and tell her that I wasn't going to be checking out until the 11:00am check-out time which was in about 1 ½ hours. I went into my room, got my keys and decided to go the gas station next door. I needed to fill-up my tank, get 2 bags of ice for my coolers and I wanted a giant BIG-GULP soda. When I got back to my room, I set down the BIG-GULP soda and went downstairs to get some breakfast. I wanted to bring it back to my room to eat before I check-out. When I got back, I could see that down the hall, in front of my room, was a big pile of sheets on the floor. When I got to my room, there was that same housekeeper in my room with all my possessions, ripping the sheets off the bed. I had my breakfast in my hands, and I looked over and my BIG GULP was G.O.N.E. – GONE. I didn't even get 2 sips out of that $2.00 drink. I asked that lady where my soda was and then I saw it in the trash can. A full soda, in the trash. AT THIS POINT, I WAS FURIOUS.
I have always had good luck with Best Westerns and this location was no exception! Clean rooms, plenty of hot water and a delicious hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits made it even better! Monica, front desk, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a great nights stay! This BW will be our “go to” from now on when we are in the area! Thanks Monica for your awesomeness!
All hotels in this area have mixed reviews. We took a chance on BW but that was a mistake. It started off with great service from Monroe at the front desk. He went above and beyond to help us as I did not know our rewards number and he took time to find it and connect to our reservation allowing us to benefit from the member rate. He even printed the info for me so I could setup an online account for future reservations. But then we went to the room. We had a king suite. It was clean but that is all. The property is old and appears to have not been updated in decades. The room smelled musty - we assume from the old carpet and fabric sofa and chair. The bathroom tile was broken in many places and loose on the floor. We did not want to walk barefoot in the room. There was a bug in the bathtub. The towels looked dingy. The interior hallway (2nd floor) was carpeted but there were places where it felt like you were stepping into holes. We only intended to sleep there one night and our reservation was non refundable. But we just couldn't bear to stay. The lack of maintenance and general state of disrepair was too much. We just left and booked a room in Durant at the Holiday Inn Express. We hated to waste the money, but the thought of staying in that room was worse.
The room had a musty/damp smell and carpet felt damp to walk on We were told that the carpet cleaner that was there started on the third floor by one one the front desk personnel but the main manager told us the cleaning started on the first floor .. they didn't have their story correct Offered to change our room .. was staying here three days and this is the first time I never emptied my items to the dresser area ..
Phenomenal staff! Claire, Maddie, Monica and Sean at the desk are the best! Juanita in housekeeping is a 5 star employee! They always make us feel like family. Very clean rooms and great breakfast! Close to lots of restaurants. We will definitely be back!
This hotel was in a perfect location. We rented a suite which had a jacuzzi tub in the room, not in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, staff extremely friendly and helpful
Needed a last minute hotel stay and chose the Best Western in Denison. Maddie at the front desk went above and beyond to get me the best room, rate and discount available.
I booked this hotel almost 4 months ago through Expedia. The night we go to check in BW had me down checking in the next day. I showed them all my confirmations and dates. BW screwed up, they went ahead and got me another room, which was fine. I was suppose to have 2 king suite w/pull out sofa. They gave me 2 queens. We were going to be out all day the next day and they offered to move our luggage to the room I booked. We get back the next night and no luggage. Found the manager and he helped us. The new room smelt nasty, the carpet was dirty, the shower head was broken, and broken tile in the bathroom. I made sure to get clean towels everyday. Some were stained like they hadn't been cleaned. The 3rd day is when 3 of my grandkids were with us, the reason for so many beds. 3 adults 3 kids. We go to pull out the sofa bed and I about puked. See photos! All they did was switch out the mattress. Not to change rooms or some type of reimbursement for the hell week we had! The pool is indoors and feels like a sauna. There was bugs in the jacuzzi and the place was filthy. Every time we went down to have breakfast they were out of food. Watching and observing they just let anyone in off the streets to eat. So a few days later I had booked another room for my daughter and 2 more grandkids. We get to that room and it's 1 bed, I booked for 2 beds. They went ahead and got us the right room. But come to find out the AC didn't work. The night before we were to check out we got back late. The keys to the first room didn't work. They had us checking out that night when we had checked in so I guess they didn't fix it. But I went ahead and went back downstairs to get a new key and she didn't even ask for an ID! I also want to make clear that I left messages for management to get ahold of me since he was never there, and he has not gotten back to me! I will never ever stay at a BW ever again! Oh I also want to mention that the vents were disgustingly dirty. The lighting, what lighting. The pictures they show on any site are false and misleading. You can try to cover dirt with paint and clean the furniture and carpets in the hallway, but filth always shows through.
We checked into our room for a multi-night stay. Check in was fine accept we needed a luggage cart and there were none to be found. Lobby was lovely. Got to the room and were blown away by the mildew/mold odor. Went in the bathroom and found black mold on the ceiling and in the shower. The paint was bubbling from the mold and moisture. Next morning, asked to move to a different room. Got to new room and it was better but still not great. Still some mold in bathroom and you could tell that work was recently done on the ceiling and walls to mitigate more mold because you could see the drywall tape. Everything in the rooms seemed dingy and old. They really need to get a handle on the mold.
Checked in about 5 to room 407 for two nights. Changed to rush to dinner party, noticed rug not swept. Back at ten, noted bed linens appeared not fresh. There was fresh blood on a bed pillow. Long story short. Got back at 11:00pm. Our room was not touched! Desk staff great, not so housekeeping. Very, very disappointed.
Worst Hotel experience I have had in the last 10 years. I travel for work. I am a Marriott rewards Member (70+ night a year). Hilton Honors Member (60+ nights) and gold at Holiday Inn. I travel 10 of 14 days year around. I checked into this hotel at 6PM and was assigned a room on the 3rd floor. The room adjoining mine had a barking dog. Barking non-stop. I figured the dog heard me come in and/or its people had stepped out to eat. By 7PM the dog had not stopped barking, I do not think even to breathe. I called down stairs to ask the front desk about the dog. When I am not traveling for work I often travel with a pet, the hotels ALWAYS ask for a contact number and we always must sign a disclaimer stating that we will not leave the dog unattended. The attendant at the front desk said they would call me back. I got a call back about 7:30. The lady said that the room next to mine had paid for the dog to be there, She could not locate the owners of the dog and even if they did, the hotel would not do anything because "dogs bark". I replied that people yell too, but if I stood on the bed and screamed for 2 hours the hotel would ask me to leave. I was told that the hotel would not do anything about the dog. I checked out at 8PM. Stayed in the room for two hours. The hotel has billed my company CC for $300+ for two nights. The hotel manager will not return my calls and even when I ask in advance when he will be there, he never can take my call. Dodging my calls would be more understandable if I had yelled at the staff or him on an earlier call, but I have done neither. Hotel is dishonest and cowardly. besides have poor service.
Plus: -Clerks very nice -Cleaning staff friendly -Coffee in rooms and downstairs Minus: -No room cleaning or towels unless you ask at the front desk each day you want them -No sheet and pillowcase change during your stay -Dirty couch and chair needing to be replaced -Broken piece of furniture/cabinet -Washing machine broken on second day of 8 day stay (was told that the could find no one to fix it) -Gas leak noticeable on day one of our stay (on our floor) until my son reported it to the front desk clerk (despite the property manager having a room on our floor and doing nothing about it himself) -No hot water from Wednesday through Friday of our stay -No communication to guests of any problems until we asked staff directly about the problem -No offer of compensation except for points —which were not given -No offer to be moved to another hotel due to no hot water for showers I am sure the property manager will say thank you for your stay and please consider coming here again. I have never been at a hotel this run down. We have been coming here for years and the property was in good shape during our previous visits. I tried communicating with Best Western but only got transferred to the property manager. I don't think there is anyone above the hotel property owner, so there is no reason to do anything for the customer.
From the time my sister and I walked in the front door we couldn't have been greeted more comfortably than how we were by Clare. Monroe completed the friendly greeting. Monroe was in the hallway when I was ready to take the luggage dolly back down and he told me to leave it and he would take care of it for me. In the morning I was greeted by Clare and Monroe once again and Clare asked how our stay was going. I told her we had a couple of small issues (electricity for CPap machine was not easy, toilet flushing slow and the fact I put a semi-melted bag of ice in the freezer and it molded as it froze and I couldn't take it out without breaking the door), and she said that is her morning routine, she had a notepad ready. The two of them were so friendly, they made the issues we had non-existent in our minds. My sister and I would definitely stay there again if we are in that area, Clare and Monroe are the tops in our opinions.
Many items/issues. Stay was for 3 days - Wife felt unsafe, Evening/night manager was anal and NOT helpful. He seemed not understand their booking system-tried to excuse a higher rate as variable - had to prove cheaper rate at time of booking by a phone snapshot (be very aware of their rates as suggested on the web) , room had multiple stains on couch and carpet, lighting - was not able to turn on light at bed stand, noisy - window faces the highway and on-ramp - readily hear the noise and pick-ups with loud mufflers, bath room - TP holder fell off the wall (we are in our 60's) and shower head sprayed water everywhere - like a big fan (hard to contain with shower curtain), mgmt let dogs run and down hall and through the lobby- like a zoo, to go to the pool/spa - have to go through the lobby - not the most pleasant. Breakfast on Monday had no meat offerings - not a full breakfast by any means. Would we stay there again - NOT.
Ashley was good , management terrible . Whole football team had to move due to alarms going off and only one person working . Wife left item in room requested return at OUR expense, filled out all necessary paperwork including credit card . They refused to send and then lost item , and said only give me points. Continue excuses and never able to talk to management. Wrong in every way, I would never recommend.
Highly recommend! Very updated, comfortable bed, lighted makeup mirror was a plus, shower water pressure was great, great variety for breakfast, loved the specialty coffee machine, friendly staff, and all over good experience.
I hadn't stayed at a Best Western in several years but my chain of choice wasn't available in the area. The pictures looked nice in the listing so I booked it. When I arrived, was very impressed with everything: parking lot, lobby, breakfast area, business center, and our room. The hotel/room was updated. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast the next morning was great, along with the multi-function coffee machine!
Nice rooms for a good price, room was clean, staff was nice, pool is clean as-well, the gym is small and has 1 of each machine basic stuff like peloton treadmill and a weight machine. breakfast is good. my only complaint is that there was no cleaning service while we were out of the room during the day; and that men at night were on the side of the building trying to sneak into the hotel. which was a little nerve wracking however thats not too bad compared to other places. so take into account when booking its not in the best area. However there is plenty to do around the hotel and in a close distance!
Toilet would not flush. TV would not work. AC had carpet all wet. Lots of breakfast items out. Morning desk clerk was also breakfast host. Trying to do everything. Does not work. All tables were dirty.
Our once a year place to stay! It was very clean as usual, and the updated lobby looked fantastic. My favorite employees were there, Jose,Ashley, and Claire. We had the pleasure of meeting Kaylan, very nice hard working young man! I would usually give this place a 5 star but the rooms are in desperate need of updating. It's under new ownership so hopefully when we go back next year they will updated.
We made a reservation on Best Western.com. Accidentally, we made a 2nd reservation at the samehotel, but for a week later. I spoke with customer service and they assured me it could be canceled, and never called me back after assuring us she would call back after speaking with the manager. We were able to use the reservation for the correct date. My credit cArd was just charged for another 2day stay. Never use Best Western again. Bye bye
I have stayed at this Besg Western several times this year for business. I am always greeted by staff. The rooms are nice, clean, and well maintained. The location is good, near shopping and restaurants. The breakfast is better than most complimentary breakfasts.
Best Western Plus is my go-to when I visit family in Denison. I've tried several others in the past- they can't beat BW for value and overall experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They have a great breakfast each morning. The location is close to restaurants and stores and very close to Lake Texoma. As a woman traveler, I always feel safe. Great place to stay!
the room was 85 degrees no ac on, smelled of mildew and mold. it stunk. the desk chair was broken, the tv stand was broken causing the tv to lean. the mattress had out lived its service life, we slept (when we slept, the noise outside was bad) in a valley. Carpet and couch need a deep cleaning. all this for for $190!!!! woo hoo!!
Worst hotel visit in 37 years! Reserved 2-bedroom room to give my wife and I privacy when travelling with children. Heating was broken in our room; we were frozen the entire time. Had to leave the door to our children's room open to get heat; no privacy. Selected this hotel for pool & gym. Pool was closed. Treadmill & bike in gym broken. Elevator broken; got stuck inside repeatedly. Key cards had to constantly be reset due to hotel system issues. Had to constantly travel to/from front desk without working elevator! Smoke alarm outside room beeped non-stop for days. Water stopped day of our departure. Waiting caused us to be late for our next stop; didn't arrive until 3 a.m. Unable to shower even after waiting. All four of us were filthy during cramped 13-hour car drive. Spent over $800 for 4 nights. Repeatedly requested to speak with hotel manager regarding these issues, have yet to receive a call back.
Cons: window not sealed, breeze comes in Coffee maker looks like it has bever been cleaned (i wiped it out, posted the "before" pic here) No water to make coffee in nasty machine Tray coffee machine sets on is filthy Shower curtain moves constantly so water sprays out Empty kleenex box No bathroom sink soap Overall not clean or sanitized Breakfast had no bacon or sausage, just a weird mystery egg-concoction Pros: friendly check-in person Beds pretty comfy Owner, or Best Western needs to pay closer attention to sanitation & cleanliness, I should have checked reviews before booking
Was on a work trip with colleagues, had multiple room booked. It was the 2 night around 10pm when the GM of the hotel barged in my room unannounced, then proceeded to try and have a conversation with me in my underwear! I advised him to exit my room, he shouted at me as he was closing the door that it was not my room. I quickly got dressed and down to the front desk to call local PD and the file a official complaint, only to find out that the GM(Jose)had left the build and his staff could not find him! I was able to file a complaint with guest relations, I also canceled our third night due to the horrible experience at this property. They still charged me for the 3rd night on all of our rooms! Wow! There is nothing Best about Best Western!
Needed a hotel for a night from a long trip from the Texas border. It was the perfect time to stop, right off the highway and easy to find. Plenty of restaurants and gas stations in safe walking distance. Check in was easy but required a $50 credit card deposit on room. Refunded at check out. Room 208, King Suite. Big room that offers all the amenities. Bed was very comfortable and clean, I check. The whole room was clean except it wasn't vacuumed. Bathroom was kinda weird, very tall sink, we both had to stand on our toes to brush our teeth! No walk in shower but shower and tub. Good water pressure. Lots of towels. In room caffe was good. Breakfast: starts at 6am - 9am. Large selections with a burrito bar in certain days. Very good coffee machine in breakfast room! We felt safe with lighted parking lot. Facility was clean all around and nice employees. We will make this our regular stop for now on. Good price for the stay. $123 total, taxes included.
This is the Flagship of Best Western Hotels. The staff are amazing people. They care about their guests. As a frequent traveler, I always tip the breakfast staff and leave a tip for housekeeping. Please consider doing this. It makes their day when I hand them a $10, or a $20 just say hey I recognize you, your hard work and how you are serving others by what you do. So tip your hotel/motel staff wherever you stay.
Clean room and comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The menu changes every morning. I liked the biscuits and gravy on Sunday more than the eggs on Monday, but the food was good either way. There is a waffle maker too and those were good as well.
Terrible customer service, the quality and lack of the toiletries, the terrible materials that were used for the room (shower curtain, shower head, pillows, sheets, bed), and terrible customer service. I do not recommend staying here
Used rewards card points to discount the room, just needed a sleep over on our long drive home , so wasn't expecting much. The room given was clean and comfy. Check in and out ,easy peasy. We did late check in and staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. We slept in so we almost missed the breakfast included thing( our fault) but caught enough of it to seem it enough and delicious! Facility was close to alot of basic things ( gas stations and restaurants) and just off the highway. So easy off and on. No issues concerns at all.
TV and AC wasn't working upon check in for 4 nights. Staff member first night said she was uncomfortable with my complaining. Omg. TV working 2nd day but screen had 12 inch crack on left side. AC was not working on Auto, only ON. Tried to move me, but other room was a mess. Not once did an employee or manager apologize for the inconvenience and I was not offered any discount. No new TV sent to room. I would not stay here again.
This is a beautiful hotel. The lady at the desk helped us get parked with our 26' uhaul and the pickup towing my car! My husband was kind of nervous looking at the parking lot but the lady at the desk suggested we park between the hotel and the Braun's ice cream store. There is a dead end road there we could back into and it was perfect. We brought my cat along. He is my Emotional Support Animal named Sir Pounce. He made himself very comfortable on the window sill looking out at the wonders of the area. The room is small but comfortable. The best thing is a quiet refrigerator! Last couple rooms we've had on our trip the fridge made noises. I'll never get used to the short pillows hotels are using nowadays. I forgot my pillow at the last hotel we were in in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
I highly recommend this hotel. It is well maintained and exceptionally staffed. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Perfectly located near restaurants. Great value for the price. The availability of a two-room two-king-bed suite is a great incentive for families traveling with children.
I picked this hotel since it advertised recent update/remodel. The entry and halls look ok at first glance but our room, on the 3rd floor, though it looked ok, it was a surface renovation at best. The details fell short. ie. cracking grout in bathroom floor, recycling AC all night long with defective thermostat. The mattresses appeared old.The TV/frig cabinet old and poor touchup paint job. Dirt on floor along walls and corners. New bathroom vanity was way too tall, couldn't lean over far enough to spit while brushing teeth, it also curved out in front and was too close to the toilet. Towel racks were not available for bath towels, toilet paper holder not within reach for a child or short armed person.
The room smelt and felt damp. It had a mildew smell which was very unpleasant to smell each and every time we left the room and came back. The sheets and towels also felt damp but that could be because of the room. The breakfast was sufficient (waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee), and the breakfast host that served the food was nice. The hotel is still under COVID precautions, which was fine but meant that breakfast was not self served. We requested a late check out (12pm). Housekeeping knocked on our door at 11:15a to ask when we were leaving and a front desk staff knocked at 11:40 with the same question. Normally, I would not fret over this however with being in town for a funeral, emotions are already high and this made it seemed if we were being pushed out.
I had to take a emergency trip to Texas and choose to stay at best western in Denison, it was the absolute best room I stayed in my whole trip. I became a plus member.. only thing is I didn't know breakfast was over at 9am. I woke up so hungry but I wanted to sleep in because those beds are so comfortable
The hotel is clean & well decorated. Staff is friendly but doesn't do much. The room was comfortable but not serviced once during a 3 night stay. The pool was out of order and no one had any idea when it would be fixed, which was disappointing with a child on the trip. Overall pleasant place to stay.
Needing carpet and painting, floor in bath rooms not very clean, carpet stained, lamp shades next to bed was cracked & needing replacing. TV did not work properly calling on manager to have to come to room & make it operational. Breakfast foods were seriously lacking variety, more fruits, bacon offering for those who do not like or eat sausage. Overall felt this hotel is way over rated for ;the condition it is in.
$30. Pet fee is high, elevator was very slow breakfast is served to you by staff you can not pick your own food. Needs better signage to find the drive. Misleading information say ing chcktow casino was 5 miles away when it was 18 miles.
We had an excellent view of Lake Texoma in the distance and treetops from our window! No parking lots, buildings, or freeways to see. For the first time with my stays with Best Western, we experience the "Covid" policy, but we were not told what it was when we asked other than "they serve your food for you" Beware, they don't clean your room for 2 days and you have to take your own trash out! Other than that, it was what I expect when staying with Best Western!
I just wrote a long review in all caps and then discovered it won't take caps!!!! not writing it over... hotel was good, breakfast was hot, attendants from front desk Ash and Jodi serving breakfast delivered our food faster than we could have done self serve... location is very good, 8 min from Sherman TX where there are many stores and cafes to choose from for shopping and dining out. Will definitely stay here again if ever traveling on hwy 75 .. We met a breeder to pick up our new dog She drove from Ft Worth to keep us from tackling the horrible construction traffic....
Great place to stay. I have stayed here several times and never had a problem. Always nice staff and clean rooms. Will be staying here again when I travel through the area. Very pleased with my experience
This hotel is pathetic. First of all, we stayed at a Best Western Plus in St. Augustine, FL and it was FANTASTIC! Fresh and clean and so so nice with gorgeous colors and great art in the hallways and I just loved everything about that hotel. So, when looking for a hotel in Denison I immediately chose the Best Western Plus anticipating another great stay. NOT! This hotel was dark and dreary and well-worn. There was ONE elevator for the whole hotel and it was super slow and they said only one family or person at a time due to covid. So an elevator ride took FOREVER. Then, for breakfast, no one can just get their own breakfast items. We had to stand in a long line and wait for a staff person to get us everything that we wanted. This added 15 minutes to the breakfast process. If they are going to have this method in place, then they need to have one staff replenishing items and at least 2 staff serving the customers. And what's the point? We are all touching the coffee and juice machines!! The breakfast items were inconsistent. One day they had regular yogurt and the next day it was light yogurt with sucralose. Bananas were either super green or non-existent. Everything in the hotel looked like it was from the 70's. Sad, ancient equipment.... and then the DOGS. I have never ever seen so many dogs in a hotel. If you have a dog, definitely this is your hotel. I asked if they kept any rooms pet free and they said "no". But that they did do a deep clean after a dog had been in a room. Hmmmm......Hearing the barking was another added treat.... I also want to mention the linens on the bed. They were rough and not soft. Hands down one of the worst experiences I've had in a hotel of this calibre. I would never stay here again. The big take away for me is that Best Western Plus hotels are NOT CONSISTENT and not the same everywhere.
Our room was so beautiful and rather spacious! It was a suite, and it was quite lovely! The bathroom was very clean. All the amenities worked just fine and were available as advertised. I wish we could have stayed longer.
A great hotel in a great location. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and the hotel is clean. My bed was comfy, and the layout of the room was great. I love the attention to details in the bathroom . I travel for work and this will definitely be my go to place to stay in the area.
I traveled with a group of high school kids. The staff never batted an eye getting a situated in our getting a situated in our rooms getting a situated in our rooms or entering the dozens of questions some of my kids had. They were fantastic, as were the rooms and all amenities.
Double charged the room and moved luggage out of room and locked us out. They did give us reward points for our troubles. We spoke with management the next morning and was told they would investigate the problem and let us know by email what happened. Never heard back from them and was double billed. We were told they had a new computer system. Lucky us.
Great place, lots to do close by. Very quiet room lots of room to move around. We celebrate Christmas in the room with no problem. Hot Breakfast served to you beats paper bag any day. Can't wait for them to get the hot tub and pool running.
Whenever I stay in Denison, TX, I stay at this hotel. It has easy access to the highway and the convenience of food resources close by. The breakfast is set out in buffet stable and served to you by staff. This is due to COVID and their protocols for social distancing is spot on. The hotel is clean, smells fresh and well maintained. The staff are friendly and personable. They make you feel like your home.
Probably the best hotel I have stayed at in a long time! Good breakfast and friendly staff. Easy check in.and out. Quiet! Great location. Would definitely stay here again when in the area. Keep up the good work!
Booked two rooms for a family visit to the area. Only issues were a cold pool and hot tub jets didn't work. Rooms were both clean and the breakfast was good. Friendly staff and the area around the hotel was clean too. Overall it was a good stay and we would probably stay here again
The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. But we waited 15 minutes for someone to get to the front desk to check us in. The beds were pretty firm and the pillows were awful. Four small square pillows for a king size bed is not sufficient.
This is our 4th stay this year, and have been very pleased with the hotel. We travel with a dog, and the rooms are clean and fresh when we check in. Even through the changing Covid regulations, the staff works hard to make our visit the best. We truly feel welcomed when we arrive, and safe during our stay. And Braum's Ice Cream right next door!
The staff in this hotel are well trained in hospitality and efficiency. Sanitize areas daily even though the covid requirements have been relaxed. Full breakfast and other amenities like an indoor pool and hot tub are exceptional. I felt more like a friend than a guest yet was treated respectfully.
Staff is friendly, amenities are great, rooms were terrific. This was a great stay. Close to the highway and not far from downtown. There are plenty of dining options nearby and the breakfast was hot and offered some good variety.
Staff is amazing — very friendly and extremely helpful! The pool and hot tub were clean and so refreshing —wanted to live in that pool! Hotel breakfast was yummy. And room was clean and comfortable!! Great hotel!!
The best staff ever! Jose, Claire, Sadie and Amber were awesome! The night auditor and breakfast staff was just as awesome! This place was very accommodating for our big family. We stayed for two weeks with no issues. A very clean property all around. Can't wait to go back next year!!
Stained sheets, very dirty bed skirt, mildew smell from ac, 3 tiny hard pillows, dirty halls & elevator. The staff was friendly. I hope the cleaning crew can get it together. Not worth the price we paid at all.
Unfortunately the bathroom was filthy. Rugs were dirty. My wife had to clean entire bathroom. I had stayed in one Best Western Plus and loved it. Unfortunately not the same experience here. Although I will add that Jose who I believe was acting as a manager or supervisor did handle everything with professionalism.
Called hotel 25 min prior to 330am arrival. Man gave us rate of $80.55 plus tax over phone. He took our name , but said he did not need credit card since we were almost there. He was leaving as we went in. The lady at desk ran my card for nearly double amount quoted! She said we had to wait for the man to fix error in am. This happened at this hotel once before when we stayed at that time the day manager corrected it, so we didn't worry. They could not give us a receipt at our noon checkout and the Mgr was not there till 3pm. My husband signed credit card receipt for $80.55. but they could not give him a copy of that either. We were told the room had to remain open so the Mgr could correct our rate. That clerk emailed a receipt later but it had no amounts on it. After 3 phone calls to the Hotel, finally at 6pm the Manager was there, but did not ever speak to us. Communication was relayed through yet another female clerk. After i was practically accused me of dishonesty, the clerk said maybe the man looked at our regular daily rate rather than the holiday rate, an amount around $8 or $9 higher than what i was quoted on the phone last night. They refused to lower the $146 rate until I pointed out it was $85 online last night and they had done this once before, then they had honored their advertised rate when that Mgr arrived. This mgr. offered a compromise to the regular daily rate. While the night and am Desk clerk were kind and polite, an error in giving out their rate rate should not be my problem to fix long after our stay.
I was impressed by the extremely tall ceilings, which made the whole room feel spacious. Breakfast was a nice variety of foods, though food was not kept warm. Seating in dining room was spacious and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. A/C fan was too high and made room cold and breezy. Nice refrigerator, microwave, dresser accommodations. TV was too small for the size of the room. TV and wi-fi worked well. Parking adequate. Strange how the hall light was controlled by a switch by the bed, and made wall outlets behind nightstand turn off, too.
This hotel is amazing. The desk clerks are friendly and very helpful. Housekeeping does a great job. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast attendant is wonderful and the food was nice and hot.
They don't clean your room regularly . No coffee available Breakfast is below average , the way hotel staff serve you breakfast is like premium breakfast . During breakfast they ran out of coffee , bananas .
Great hotel with a great staff! I definitely enjoyed my stay here it was quiet..... Amenities were great and breakfast was actually a hot breakfast.... A lot of restaurants and shopping close by...... Will absolutely stay here again!
We were very impressed with this hotel. We travel almost full time and this was some of the best staff, cleanest rooms and best room floorplan that we have seen in a very long time. We would highly recommend.
Amazing staff and VERY clean room! They go above and beyond! FULL breakfast served to you!! Safe and clean. Want a 5 star resort feel for a 2 star price?? This is the place to stay! You will not be disappointed!
Hotel has good ambience and appears clean. Hot water to theirs floor takes awhile to warm up, but doesn't get as hot as wife prefers. Internet connection was difficult to stay connected, but our stay was short and WiFi was not necessarily needed. TV's have sensors on front that resemble camera input and when not attached or IR is blocked, TV screen becomes snowy due to no signal. Attendant had to reboot TV and box for services to be available. That was a pain in the ass. Highway traffic noise was prominent, but location to local services was good.
We stayed here for a weekend trip to visit family in Denison. Room was ready when we arrived and the staff was friendly at check in. Bed was comfortable, and the room was clean and well lit. The breakfast the next two mornings was decent. There was a staff member there to make your plate and the food (eggs, biscuit and gravy, waffles, pastries, and cereal), were all good. All of the staff that we seen during our two days here were friendly. Lobby was clean, as were the hallways and elevator. We would stay here again, and would recommend this property.
Tub was peeling down and the tile floor was leaking and the last person's coffee was left in our King. The mini fridge did not work and was leaking and someone else's towel was left in the fridge and our phone stopped working in the evening. It took them a day in a half later to get someone up to replace the fridge. The breakfast has bad orange that was soft and blue in our bag and the toaster did not function well. They only had bagels with no cream cheese but strawberry. No toast, bacon, pancakes, oatmeal as they pictures show and advertise.
Very clean and nice hotel. Great location off the 75 freeway. Eisenhower Birth Place and State Park are very close. If you enjoy fishing, then hit up Denison Dam and Texoma. Lots of nice spots inside the State Park for a family picnic or outing. I recommend this place. Prices well.
Lack of amenities at this time but was the same price I paid last time I stayed. Staff was somewhat rude when I inquired about lack of amenities. Seemed like the pool was only open when people wouldn't be there to use it. I think since they can't have the buffet breakfast the could still offer some individual hot items.
Overall great stay! The staff was amazing especially Collin. First night checking in Claire went out of her way to get us a refrigerator for my medicine. Rhianna always greeted us with a smile and a hello. Jose ( manager ) allowed my family to enjoy time in the breakfast area. We spent eleven nights at this hotel and it was spotless the whole stay. We will be returning next year and would love to stay here again. It was located around lots of shopping and restaurants.
You might want to check other hotels before using the one. Just not overly concerned on how it's run and maintained. Hopefully they will get the act together. In the past the hotel has been fine. It's definitely not as good in the past.
Great service, clean room, awesome breakfast, with gluten free options, great value. The front desk staff was very friendly and made sure to get me the best price for the room. The room and breakfast area were very clean
My husband was in the hospital in Sherman so I wanted a hotel close by. From the time we checked in the hotel the staff was amazing. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. We didn't get a chance to eat breakfast there but it smelled amazing. I would definitely stay at this location again.
There were some complications with a job I was doing in the area I ended up at the hotel at 7 a.m. I had a reservation for the next few nights but check-in wasn't until 3 p.m. I had been up all night and really needed some rest. After confirming my room was available, the clerk allowed me to check in and get some much needed sleep. He had no idea how much it meant to get a few hours sleep so I was ready to go a few hours later when I was able to start my job. The nicest thing was, they did it with a smile. Thanks you from a weary traveler.
My stay was great. I was afraid of getting there and the place not be what I had seen on the picture. Double queen beds were comfortable. It was clean and no sketchiness lurking around the property or within. Right off of Hwy 75, about 20 minutes from the Choctaw casino. Walking distance was a McDonalds. Definitely would choose this place again to stay when I come back to the casino. Breakfast was good and plentiful, available from 6am - 9am.
One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Treat there guest right and liked the Fitness Center Arrangements. Great breakfast and the front desk always had quality and knowledgeable personnel staffed.
I stay here with two other colleges in a King double suite. The sofa with a pull-out bed was soiled an impossibly hard. We were unable to acquire extra pillows or a blanket for the sofa. Lighting was so dim that we couls tell if the room was clean or dirty. Bathroom lighting was so dim it was nearly impossible to apply make-up. I had to check my make-up in the bathroom of the meeting facility to make sure it was appropriate. Check-out and Check-in were non-eventful. Breakfast was the expected for facilities of this kind with self-serve breakfast. I won't stay there again.
First thing I want to mention is that I liked the location of this hotel as it is right next to HWY 75 and within walking distance to Braum's for ice cream. I only gave this a "very good" rating because the phone in the room didn't work(could dial in/out but no one could hear me talking)The guy at the front desk offered to fix it but I only had a one night stay and was ready for sleep. Thankful to have a cell phone. The other reason for the "very good" instead of excellent rating is because the heater in the room stopped working in the night and I was not going to lose sleep trying to get the blower fixed after already going to bed for a one night stay. My family members stayed in another room and they didn't have phone or blower problems so it might just be a one room problem. I give KUDO's to the woman at the front desk when we checked in at around 2 p.m. She to the time to check with the person cleaning rooms and got us in early. They do have plenty of parking and an elevator for the upper floors. They serve breakfast on Sunday between 6 and 9:30 a.m. Plenty of options. Coffee could have been hotter but it's o.k. I'm sure some people would say otherwise. All in all, this is a great hotel and location...sorry forgot one thing...bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard and kind of square-not rectangular(weird) . Bring your own pillow if you're driving and are particular about pillows. I would stay here again if I'm in the area. We booked through the hotel's website and paid $94.49 + city and stay tax. Total $106.77 per room but the rooms were big enough and had a microwave, mini fridge and a coffee maker in the room. The room was very quiet. Worth it!
no complaints except wasn't offered check-in gift was wondering if reward points added instead .. fast friendly professional service .. varity of eateries within walking distance.. would have no problem staying here again if in the area ..
Checked in on a real foggy night. Needed to stop for the night. Just had dinner close by and ready to pull over for the night. Very pleasant clerk and very friendly. Room was super clean. We worked out in a great fitness room. A great indoor pool with hot tub. Shower and bed was wonderful. Enjoyed coffee in room and lobby had coffee 24 hours a day. Breakfast was much more than other motels of this price range. Morning clerks were also very friendly and helpful. We stayed on Friday night 1/17/2020. I will definitely stay there again.
After 11 hours on the road, we looked forward to a relaxing swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub.The pool was cold and the hot tub was weak. AC/heat control in room was bad. Breakfast quality bad.
Great place, excellent employees. Great location, close to everything even to de casinos in Oklahoma. Ashley in breakfast is a is a great assistance. The girl and the man(i think he's a mgr) at front desk have great customer service skills.
We all had a wonderful time and the location was perfect. The rooms where in great condition and everyone had great things to say about this location specifically. I'm sure myself and all the guest invited will be coming back.
We held our annual Abate Christmas party in meeting room as well as booking 20+ rooms. Everything and everyone was extremely satisfied!! Staff was Pleasant and very accommodating!, especially Claire!! We will definitely be back!
Nice hotel for when you are on the road. Comfortable bed and clean room. The rooms are a little dark however, but that is not a big issue. Pretty decent Breakfast, And good price for a stay. Would definitely stay again.
It was okay. We had issues with the first room they put is in, but once they moved us to a different room, we had no issues with the room. 206 had a broken refrigerator door, broken phone, broken thermostat. It was turned down to 60 and when we first got in the room it was at 70 and within minutes it had climbed up to 74. They switched us rooms with no problems, but it was an inconvenience for sure. Also, when you book, make 100% sure you have the right room. I booked the wrong type of room and when I called them a few minutes later, they said they updated the room. But when we checked in, it wasn't changed. I didn't feel like dealing with it after 9 hours on the road, so we just dealt with it. Overall the hotel and rooms were clean. The front desk gal on Saturday of our trip was VERY unfriendly and rude. We went down for breakfast at 9:07am. I noticed that the waffles was almost out and same with the potatoes so I asked the front desk. Her response was "I don't deal with that" and walked away. She didn't tell me she was getting somebody that could help me or anything. Her response should have been a little different as well. But there was a lady that was a part of the kitchen staff and she was amazing! She definitely went above and beyond for us. She went ahead and got enough mix for a waffle for me and made more potatoes. After she did this, we realized that we were late to breakfast and it had actually ended at 9am, not 10am like we thought!! This woman could and should have easily told us that breakfast was over, but she didn't! She was so nice. Once we realized, we apologized over and over. She just said that she was happy to do it and it was no problem.
It was a great get-away from the boy scouts camp and cuddle in a soft and inviting bed. The only complaint that I had was that someone up stairs sounded like they were stomping around on purpose. And the indoor pool was very cold.
Didn't give us the correct rate when I asked if pets were welcome. Poorly lit rooms. Terrible food for the free breakfast. Room was not ready at advertised check in time. Halls were very noisey, late at night.
Checked in and went to room. Dog in room next door would not stop barking. I asked for a room on a different floor. They were great at desk and moved me to a different room. Before night was over another guest checked in with a dog next door to this room also. Two different rooms two barking dogs. Stay away if you want to sleep!!!!!
On our way to a meeting, my wife called and reserved a suite with late arrival. Upon arrival, the hotel looked good. The lady at the front desk was very nice, very helpful, and we were on our way to the 3rd floor room. When we stepped off of the elevator onto the third floor it was hot. Hmmmm. Got to the room and it was hot. The thermostat was set at 66 but it didn't work. The room was a double queen - not a double queen suite. I went downstairs and the clerk said they were all sold out. She was willing to come up and "work on the unit" which she did and to her credit got it going. When I asked her about the "suite", she said that "this is a suite". The ac never caught up - even after 9 hours. The bed linens were stained up. The bath linens were stained here and there a red mud brown like someone had cleaned their stuff after coming back from the Red River. The bed was hard - not firm - hard. Among the 4 pillows on the bed, they were all thick and hard. While the clerk was resetting the ac unit, she then said that she could go clean on of the rooms they hold for the railroad guys real quick. So much for being "sold out" and I wasn't going to stay in a room that wasn't cleaned..... Keep travelin' stranger. I wouldn't stay here and won't again - keep on going - whichever direction you're headed. There's more and better down the road.
We didn't know much about the town of Denison or where to find a good hotel, but we lucked into the perfect place at a fair price for our one-night stay.... It was clean, comfortable, and included a huge, delicious breakfast buffet of Texas waffles, sweet rolls, cereal, yogurt with add-ins, even eggs, bacon, biscuits and cream gravy, sausage, fresh fruit, and good juice and coffee! We were quite pleased with our stay, and we definitely recommend Best Western Plus Texoma Hotel and Suites highly!!!
This hotel is very good. Great breakfasts. Nice, clean rooms. Friendly staff, very respectful. The pool and spa were great. I am very glad that I got to stay here. Another thing that won me over is the location, very close to gas stations and restaurants. This hotel is great. Definitely would stay again.
Very good Hotel, worth the price. We had a king suite, paid $87 for it. Room was very clean and spacious. Bed was so comfortable. Staff was very friendly. This hotel is by far my favorite in Denison, TX.
Best Hotel. In Denison.clean and friendly staff.great price ..easy check in and check out.comfy beds and clean rooms.trust me they even shampoo the carpets ..we stayed one night a month fir the last 9 months and always clean rooms..and pet friendly
They need to let guests know before they do final check in that something isn't working. We weren't told hot tub wasn't working. Nice layout of room for a 2 king bed suite but bathroom needs to be bigger-very cramped. Odor in room, TV's had black lines through them, carpets or sofa bed weren't very clean. Handwritten signs all over hotel about things not working or how to properly use items. The whole place needs a good deep clean
me and my husband where very tired I wanted a room to take a shower and go to sleep. my room was perfect. just what we needed would definitely go again. thank you I couldn't be more please bed where soft and so comfortable. great service
It was my first time at this place .. I really like it ,, the rooms were very nice ,, clean place .. it was good big truck parking... the breakfast was good too.. the people that works there were really good with the people coming in and out of it ...
After spending 14 hours driving, we were looking for somewhere that was pet friendly that we could stop for the night. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very pet friendly. The beds were amazing! The only reason for a 4 out of 5 is the location. It was a bit confusing to leave. After trying to book the rooms through a 3rd party, we ended up calling the hotel and making our reservations through them. They were extremely helpful and very friendly to talk with. If we need to make that trip again, we will definitely stay at this hotel
We reported people in next room who were fighting, cursing, and throwing someone into the wall! It was so loud we could hear it over the TV! Front desk girl said there was NOTHING SHE COULD DO! We were there less than 2 hours, and ended up leaving at 10:45 PM. I have yet to speak to the manager about getting a refund!
this was our second time to stay here while in the area for a family reunion. the front staff is always very pleasant and helpful. love the full breakfast. hopefully, we'll be back next year. would recommend to friends and family.
Room nice clean, Requested early check in then when we got there wonted to charged extra $25. for that. Elevator didn't work whole weekend, NO discount for that. All and all I give it 3 1/2 would've been higher if they gave us discount on elevator not working, and made big big on early check in, when it was requested on the regional reservation.
I literally live in hotels and motels. Only visting my home 1 weekend a month and holidays. I love BW's but i wished i got a refund for this one. I am completely unsatisfied. There wher stains, clogged tub, broke elevator for 2 days, found fries behind the bed, no linens for pull out bed i had to walk down stairs in the middle of the night to get, the pool was not heated as advertised and so much more.
Great costumer service, pet friendly. Great price. Stayed for two night. Staff was great speedy check in and check out. Has a decent pool and hot tub. Would definitely check them out before going any where else.
It started with being placed in a room opposite the meeting room, hosting a huge raucous party. We were moved to the third floor, only to find out the elevator was broken, which continued to be a problem for at least part of the day every day we were there. You risked getting stuck in it if you took it, which created a real dilemma for us and our mobility issues. Staff didn't care. Invalidated our key cards prematurely. Room was not properly cleaned and stocked. And when we checked out one day early, would not own up to the problems, creating a hassle with Hotels.com.
Well kept hotel. good location. Friendly staff. Rooms clean and quiet. Breakfast bar was outstanding and well supplied. I would recommend this hoter to anyone needing a hotel in the area. I also felt very safe at this location
We stopped here on our way to Galveston for a cruise. The location was perfect and the beds were comfortable. The only concern was the breakfast buffet was out of almost everything and it took about 20 minutes before everything was restocked.
The service and rooms were perfectly fine. The pool was great. Just a little cool obviously due to the weather. The breakfast the morning after was terrible. My kids and i left to go eat elsewhere due to the lack of care of the food. Things were cold. The biscuits and gravy were goopy and hard. It was awful. There's an ihop nearby. Try that instead.
This best western is awesome, I definitely recommend it! The quality of the hotel that you are paying for is outstanding. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is delicious. If you want a trusty hotel stay here you will not regret it, you're welcome!
Be sure to join Best Western rewards for great rates! A bit off the highway, yet worth it. Very nice accommodations, large suite to spread out on couch while traveling. Very good hot breakfast with nice variety and fresh fruit. Enjoy!!
This hotel is exactly what every traveller wants. It has pet-friendly rooms, with a separate seating area & desk. The property has easy access on & off the highway, and is near many, many restaurants. There is also a business center, a fitness center, and an indoor pool! The complementary breakfast actually has hot food you WANT to eat! We stayed here four days & could not have been happier!
We are a family of 5 and stayed in a room with two queen beds. This was a nice hotel for the price. After the military discount and taxes, we paid $81. I was happy with the size and cleanliness of the room. The staff was very friendly and also gave us a room on the bottom floor for convenience and so we wouldn't have to worry with the kids (6, 5, & 3) running on the floor and disturbing anyone below us. They had a nice selection of breakfast foods at no extra cost. They had eggs, sausage, pigs in a blanket, biscuits and gravy, Texas waffles, along with a variety of muffins and cereal. My only concern was the exit door on the bottom floor wouldn't close completely on its own. I had to pull it closed to make sure it was secured. Other than that we enjoyed our stay! We would definitely stay here again.
My Husband and I always stay at this location. It is located right off the highway and the staff is always friendly. The breakfast is always hot and fresh. I would recommend this location to anyone that may be going to this area for anything.
Had not stayed at Best Western since my college days, way back when, we wont go into details how long ago that was. I have to admit that it was pleasant surprise to stay in a Best Western Plus, clean, great staff and wonderful amenities.
The check-in and check-out were handled efficiently, The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Adequate parking, close to local restaurants and access routes. Rates were lower than local competition and the included breakfast was hot and plentiful. Workout equipment was in need of repair.
Pros: Clean room.Comfy beds.Nice lobby and room decor.Front desk staff was friendly Friday night and tried to address my parents' issues. We had a really long, bad day which made the problems seem worse, and my mom wasn't very nice to them. However, they were really nice back. The next day I had a request for more towels and I asked nicely, but the staff then (different staff) was really rude.Cons:Broken closet door.Slow drains in sink and shower.Bad lighting in room.Accessible room wasn't as accessible as it should be for a disabled person's comfort. Not enough towels.Saturday staff was rude.Breakfast left a little to be desired if you can't have waffles, biscuits and gravy. The eggs looked gross and gluten free options were a little slim. Not awful, but I would have liked more cereal choices than just one and maybe if they offered Udi's gluten-free products as an option like some Holiday Inn Express hotels do.
Wonderful place to stay - this is our "go to" when we travel to this area of Texas. Highly recommend this hotel -- Don't expect much if you want an "in hotel bar" - it is only open 1 hour a day M-Th - however, we never saw it open while we were there - BUT there is a really great restaurant just down the road that has really great food and a nice bar.
There was some minor issues which were taken care of, like towels removed from room and not replaced and had to be picked up at desk. Room was very clean upon arrival, lobby very clean and lovely. Breakfast was standard, not special. Convenient to 75 and quick to Durant for powwow at Choctaw Event Center. Definitely would stay here again even though you could hear lots of noise, mostly from outside...car alarms, dogs barking, loud voices.
The hotel is clean, the breakfast has many options to choose from. Rooms are large enough for families to stay comfortably. The price was amazing for a king suite! If you're looking for a a great hotel that's kid friendly this is the one.
We stayed here while in the area for a family reunion. Beautiful facility. The staff was friendly and courteous. We enjoyed the hot breakfast, the indoor pool and the fitness room. We would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is clean and good value - and that's about it. No real warmth or atmosphere: place is very clinical, staff pretty uninterested - but for a hotel in the boonies on a major highway then that's always a bonus rather than a necessity. I would give the place 4 stars but was frankly disappointed at the “pet friendliness” of the place. Grassy area beside the entrance was covered in litter, cigarettes and not suitable for our four-legged pal. Worst of all, $25 per night per pet is FAR more excessive than any other hotel I've been in, and I'm including $300 a night boutique places on my list. For this price we could have put him in his own hotel room - and when you have a well-behaved pooch like this who causes zero damage or impact to hotel rooms, it's frankly a joke to be paying so much - plus they only tell you this on check-in, at which point you have no choice. Poor show on an otherwise decent hotel.
Outstanding customer service ~ special Kudos to Tamara & Joann at the front desk, always smiling, efficient & professional. King suite was spacious and spotless. Fridge/micro & flat screen TV. Granite countertop in sparkling bathroom. Comfortable bed with triple sheeting. Free wifi w/plenty of signal strength. Room was easily worth twice the price & always my first choice in this area :-)
This place had great outdoor pool and spa area. The depth of the pool is max 5' so the kids had a blast just horsing around. The breakfast was hot and great. We made breakfast burritos with the fresh eggs and sausage they had available. The little one loved the waffles. We also really loved the rooms. We stayed in a room with 2 queens and a pull out so the family had a very good night sleep with plenty of room.
What a great place to start your day whether on business or vacation. One of my favorite places to stay on my journeys. Very nice hotel with a wonderful, helpful staff. Nice clean, comfortable rooms and great beds let you get a good nights sleep.
I'm not one to leave reviews but this hotel is too good not to. I often stay here when visiting the casino nearby. 15 minutes away and well worth it. Much better then hotels in Durant. Rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable beds. Love the decor of the rooms. Makes them very relaxing and easy access to and from highway.
Everyone was very helpful. The staff were inviting and helpful. My husband got sick and needed an ambulance and the night desk employee called 911 for us and was extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and very roomy with comfortable beds.
We stayed here in January. Had a not so great experience. Rooms not made. Bath items not replenished. Coffee service items not replaced. Decided to give them another try. Stayed four days. Excellent. No complaints.
The bed was clean , as was the room. The room had plenty of plug ins and they had a crib available for my son. Nothing extra about it, but there wasn't anything wrong with it either. Breakfast selections were normal.
After reading reviews and checking rates, I was really impressed with this property when I arrived. Quiet location just off the highway, fresh and totally clean in public spaces, tastefully decorated throughout, and a great suite room. I couldn't have been happier with the great rate and comfort I encountered. The wifi was fast, the noise was nonexistent, the bathroom was spotless, and the bed comfortable. If I had to complain about anything it would be the temperature control thermostat needed some instruction on proper use to set the temperature. The breakfast was fine with a lot of selection and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I drove up to a wonderful building and impeccably landscaped property, with wide parking spaces (if this was designed this way great job) while this was impressive the real treat started when I walked through the front doors it was as if the hotel had sealed behind the sliding glass doors an experience it wanted me to remember for many years....and remember I will! I was promptly greeted by an AMAZING, FRIENDLY, KIND, FORETHINKING front desk attendant named Tamara. Tamara was not only helpful, but it was late and without even asking she had me set-up in a room on the first floor close to the door so I didn't spend an hour getting my belongings to my room. You dont always see this kind of service so it was a refreshing change from the norm. Then I walked into a wonderland of cleanliness it was as if the magic cleaning fairly dashedthrough my room waiving his/her magic clean wand all over everything and ever inch of the room. I have stayed in many Best Western Pluses and have been so letdown.....but not here. The room decor was inviting, peaceful, and modern. My room furniture was in great condition and comfortable. The bed was more comfortable than my house beds. I am 2 stays away from being a Diamond Select Rewards Member and I'm telling you that this hotel is in my top 3! I stopped staying in the Best Western Pluses because many of them are a letdown but not here.....STAY HERE you will have no worries!
Hotel property is nice, appears to be new or recently updated. We chose to stay in Denison so we could spend a couple of days at Eisenhower Park on Lake Texoma. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the park entrance. We were able to spend our days at the park, come back and cleanup and then go to the casino in Durant for the evening. Very convenient.
My new favorite Hotel. The staff is super friendly, super clean rooms, great breakfast and most important.....SUPER COMFORTABLE BEDS!! I recommend the Best Western Hotels to everyone traveling. The BW is where it is at. ;-)
FYI - Best Western own zero hotels, 100% are franchises so it is often hit or miss. This is a hit! Very nice, indoor pool, OK breakfast but very close to many eateries! Wonderful Ice Cream place next door. One thing too many hotels are reluctant to do is to challenge little kids running unsupervised and this one is no exception. I was ready to call DFACS
I stayed here the other day for one night on a business trip. This was a very clean, well-lit, and up-to-date hotel. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. If you're in Denison, I would recommend this hotel as a comfortable and affordable place to stay.
I am completely amazed by my experience at the BW Plus Suits in Denison, Tx. While staying there on an emergency situation, the lady behind the desk, Sharon, was absolutely delightful. I honestly was not the best customer at first due to a long drive and stressed. She never once lost her smile and always replied back with a positive upbeat answer. At 2 am in the morning she was very professional to me and had the best hospitality. (Which was needed as my father was undergoing major surgery the following morning) After I poured my heart out she gave me my room key with a huge hug. Again, I needed that. Unfortunately I was unable to sleep due to the stress but my room was extremely nice and comfortable. I went down stairs early as I couldn't sleep hoping Sharon had a listening ear with fresh coffee made. Not only was the coffee ready, she was making breakfast a bit early due a few people who had early departures. From working desk, getting breakfast ready, and calming me down, she is a pretty special lady. I travel all over and it's not just about the quality of hotel. Hospitality and kindness is amazing and BW+ in Denison has that. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting her you would understand. Much thanks to you Sharon, I look forward to seeing you soon under different circumstances.
The hotel is pet friendly, right off the highway with an indoor pool/hot tub. It was halfway b/w Austin & Kansas City & half the price of any other hotel that allowed pets & had an indoor pool. The low cost had me worried, but I gave it a shot and am glad I did! The "ok": The pool/fitness area was nice, the only drawback is that the pool is way to cold to get in even though it is an indoor pool. It was like getting into an ice bath. The hot tub made up for this by also being cooler than most so I was able to stay in it for awhile. The pool had plenty of seats and the hot tub was large enough to fit 6 adults without being uncomfortably close to each other. The bad: breakfast. This was disgusting and pretty much inedible. I left and went to get a fast food breakfast instead. This was seriously the only bad thing about the hotel. The food was either missing (as in not being made that day for some reason) or badly overcooked. The biscuits (on their own and on the pig in blankets) were so charred they disintegrated when sliced, there was no bacon despite a sign and place for it, they only had over-hard eggs (with powdery/crumbly yolks and brown crispy whites), burned on mix in the waffle maker smelling up the place and causing every waffle made to also burn, and a toaster that didn't work. The sausage patty's looked like overcooked hockey puck versions of McDonald's sausage and were so hard you couldn't slice or bite into them. The cooks did not seem to care to solve any of these issues, bc even the "fresh" batches of food they brought out were like this. The good: literally everything else! The room had a king bed and a nice separate sitting area with a super comfy couch and chair around a coffee table and end table. The TV worked well (although some movie channels and some type of written "available channel" list would have been nice). There was a refrigerator and microwave, a good sized desk, a bench for the end of the bed, and a nice sized (but nothing special) bathroom. The room was clean and much larger/nicer than I expected for the price. The bed had clean/crisp sheets with a nice comforter, was very comfortable, and had plenty of pillows. Lighting was adequate, but the bedside lamp and entry ceiling light worked off of the same switches, so you couldn't have the bedside lamp on with turning on the entry light which was a mild annoyance but not worth losing a star. The TV could be adjusted to be seen from the bed or the living area, which was very comfortable. I usually don't use this part of a room because the couch and chair are almost always too hard , but this was a very pleasant setup that I enjoyed having. I worked here instead of at the desk. The front desk staff at this hotel was first class all the way. When I checked in she made it a pleasant and smooth experience. She went out of her way to be helpful and make me feel welcome and at home. The lobby was in pristine condition, giving the impression of a much more up-scale hotel than a typical Best Western. Most of the "plus" brand of BW really does qualify it to at that up-scale end of the hotel spectrum. Checkout went just as smoothly, they offer an express option, but I needed a receipt so I stopped buy the front desk anyway. I was in and out in under 5 minutes for both check-in and out, and the only reason check-in was longer was because I had asked a few questions about the area and we had a nice conversation since no one else was waiting. The parking lot was well lit and the area felt safe. Wifi worked well and was fast. I am an admitted hotel snob, I stayed here because I had to stay SOMEWHERE. I had low expectations, but it was one night, it was pet friendly, and it had an indoor pool at a decent price. I was very pleasantly surprised at how fabulous my stay was and I would definitely choose to stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel, it is one of my favorites I have stayed in!
Stayed here in Jan after huge reservation snafu @ BW Markita in Durant and was so impressed than I happily returned again to BW in Denison even though it meant going 20 miles out of my way to do so. Check-in was a breeze ~ smiling Tamara at the front desk was welcoming, quick & efficient which means a lot when you are road weary. Love the automatic front doors. My room was modern, spacious, spotless and well appointed with fridge/micro and flat screen TV. Bathroom was immaculate. Free wifi with great signal. Slept well on super comfortable bed with nice linens and fat, fluffy pillows. Receipt under my door in the morning expedited checkout. Didn't partake of the continental but it was well tended, and smiling Mary at the front desk was helpful as I had a question with my paperwork. Rooms of this calibre typically run well over $100 in other cities which makes this an outstanding value. Note: situated on a 1-way NE frontage road so take care if you are traveling southbound on US 75 next morning to utilize the SE driveway out of the parking lot onto Rocky Lane :-)
We only went here because they were the only ones in Sherman or Denison Tx that had a working indoor pool and hot tub. But I have to be honest the room was amazing and the breakfast was just as good. Along with the hot tub, (because the pool was freezing) it was a great experience.
Worth staying at this hotel. Great rooms and friendly staff. Well kept and clean. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Very little noise from the highway. Only 20 minutes from the casino. Stay here.
Pulled off the road after 12 hours driving in rain, heavy traffic and construction. Great retreat after a long day. Huge clean room and easy checkin. I booked online for a better rate. Highly recommend!
Best hotel in Denison tx! Friendly Staff, Clean and comfortable rooms, excellent rate when booked at priceline. Hotel is modern and clean Breakfast was hot and ready every morning and was above par for a hotel!
Compared to the other hotels in Denison Texas this is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are clean the price is good and the staff is friendly. The area is around some great restaurants. I would recommend this over the other nearby hotels.
This Best Western Rocks they go out of their way to make your stay fantastic and they are always friendly and courteous. I will always stay at This Best Western when I am in town that way I know I will always have a great time.
The room was very spacious and comfortable and the price was extremely reasonable. This was a great location, just down the road from Pottsboro, where I had business the next morning. There were several places to eat nearby, a plus after a long drive. I would definitely stay here again of I was in the area.
This is a great place to stay! The staff is always friendly and ready and willing to assist if you need anything. The continental breakfast is just right. The hotel and rooms are always clean. Nice hot shower! The exercise room is an added bonus for the price. This is our top choice when staying in Denison.
Front desk clerk was very friendly, and extremely helpful. Pool was great, and slept like a baby. Great overall experience with Best Western! I would refer this hotel to friends, family, and strangers alike.
The hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. The owner wouldn't honor the pricing I found online but ended up booking through the lobby because we were in a hurry. The TV remote wouldn't work properly and there is no water pressure in the shower, but otherwise good experience.......until we check out. Our truck was broken into overnight. Although the front desk offered to call the police we waited about 15 minutes for her husband/owner to get to the hotel and advise of the security cameras. He didn't come outside (where we were waiting) and when I revisited the lobby, he was too busy taking reservations. The front desk advised there weren't any security cameras on "that side of the building", only in the front. We had over $1,000 in items taken from our truck and of course they aren't responsible. Not that I wouldn't anticipated for them to be responsible for the theft, but feel they should have security cameras around the perimeter of the hotel. We later were told there have been armed robberies there and also shootings.
It's nice and clean and breakfast was good. Front desk not very friendly. :( No bath soap or wash cloths in room. Other than that it was nice. Too bad the staff wasn't friendly?? Breakfast is eggs, sausage biscuits gravy pigs n blanket, pastries , yogurt n cereal with a basket of fruit. Oh and waffle maker:)
We have not stayed at a Best Western for a very long time, but based on this location will stay again soon. Clean, well kept and friendly staff made it a great choice. Will stay here agsin when in the area.
Stayed four nights, Thursday through Sunday. Room was clean and nice with good amenities. Housekeeping did a fine job. The room was quiet except for when someone upstairs was continuously running up and down the hall, stomping as they went. Not the hotel's fault. Bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water and good TV reception. The Wifi was really good - no slow connections at all. My only gripe, and it's a small one, was that when I arrived around 11:30 AM, they wouldn't let me check in early without paying a $25 (I think) fee. It's not worth it to me so I declined. I would be more understanding if they were a really busy place with a ton of guests to handle, but they weren't. The breakfast that is included is okay, if a little bland. They have prepared in advance, fried eggs and sausage and/or biscuits and gravy. Also, oat meal, cold cereal, and a a waffle iron and batter, coffee, juice, some pastries and a little fruit. Pretty average breakfast fare. Not the worst place to stay, but not the best either. One last thing, if you need to head south on Hwy. 75, getting back on the highway takes a little more effort than getting off at Exit 69 did. Just a heads up to check that out before heading out the door.
Just a quirk to stop at this hotel, as we had driven about 12 hours on the road. What a great hotel. From check-in, Sharon, was very cheerful and welcoming to us. Our room was a King bed and was very clean and well appointed. The hotel room was very quite, not being able to hear neighbors and such. The morning breakfast was very good and there was a nice selection of foods. Coffee was good and hot. Parking was convenient. I usually don't give an A+, but there was nothing about this hotel that wasn't A+.
This is my third stop on my way from Florida to Colorado and I decided to try my first stay at a Best a Western Plus. This place is very nice. It's actually one of the nicest places I have ever stayed and today the price wasn't bad at all. The rooms are big, modern, clean, many amenities, staff is really welcoming and I recommend it to anyone. If you get the online price you can save a lot also. I didn't book online though because it's my first stay at one. I'll be on the lookout for another tomorrow wherever I end up. Highly recommend...
The bed had blood spots that looked to be stained not sure. The staff was vacuuming at like 9-10pm at night. The sheets had some dirt on it. The morning staff didn't seem to care to much about it. The positive is the young man who checked us in was great.
I stayed at this hotel while visiting family in Sherman, Pottsboro and Denison and it was very convenient to each location. I didn't use the indoor pool or fitness center but they both looked well kept. My room was average but clean and the breakfast was good with several selections. The staff and other guest were very friendly. It's not great but I would stay here again for the location.
This hotel is a joke. They charged us 200.00 for smoking in the room and we don't smoke. The customer service was horrible. The manager would not come down and talk to us. The hotel smelled like dog pee and poop.
I made an online reservation for this hotel as a Rewards customer. The rate was to be a total of $61...was total that I had a reservation for two weeks later when I tried to check in and that it could NOT be cancelled because of the Rewards Advantage...never made a res for that date!! and to be put in a handicap room...had to call customer service while at the desk and ask that it be cancelled and stay changed to today...at a higher rate as it turned out. Manger told me a charge would be made to my card of $5 for incidentals. I thought this was a low but I agreed. A charge of $25 was made instead. It is not the amount, it is the honesty of the people in charge. I was told the $25 was a "smoking charge"????? I don't smoke and told them this. The money is supposed to drop off in a week or so but we'll see.
Was an awesome stay! Very friendly and funny staff! We had an issue with our air conditioner and immediately fixed the issue and made sure we were as comfortable as can be! I highly recommend this place if you're making a stop on your way to Oklahoma or to the DFW area.
The staff helped us enjoy our family reunion with their professionalism and kindness to our family. The banquet room was nice, clean & comfortable. Our guest rooms were also nice clean & comfortable. This was our second trip to this hotel and I'm sure we will return again
I booked this hotel online. The pictures of the room were exactly as we found when we stayed here. The front desk staff was pleasant, courteous, and efficient. Ck-in went smoothly as did ck-out. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable we have encountered. I wish our bed at home was this nice. Breakfast was eggs and sausage and very good. The coffee was delicious.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here and on both visits we have enjoyed our stay. The amenities were very pleasant as they have a hot tub , pool, things that I love , free wifi , computer areas to do work downstairs and comfortable work areas in your room as well! In the morning there is a breakfast area available from 6 am to 9 am and they have a variety of things that you can prepare for yourself and enjoy downstairs or take back to your room! The location is perfect if you are on the go as it is located right off the highway and near various shopping and places to enjoy a meal. I would recommend this place to friends and colleagues alike!!
The service is really bad. I had a deal with Vijay "the owner" that I could stay for $60 per night. His new manager took my payment and ran it again for double the price. Vijay has a special needs kid that knows my special needs kid and even though I took care of her, he ripped me off. Don't get ripped off by Vijay like I did. He acts nice but, don't be fooled like me and Beverly were.
I chose this hotel for their pet friendliness, and the price, and was extremely pleased with my selection. They did tell me at check-in that the bill would be $25/day for pet incidentals, but that charge never appeared on my credit card. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The beds could have been softer, but the excellent service far surpassed the bed issue. Would certainly stay here again.
Very nice and clean hotel. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Convenient location and close to restaurants and shopping. Rooms were large and well appointed. All my needs were met for my business extended stay. The only thing that I would recommend, to make this a better stay, would be to "mix" up the breakfast a little. The same thing for 5 days was a little mundane, even though it was good. I would stay again if in this area.
My experience to the best western Denison Texas is wonderful every time I return I will always stay there they have a very caring staff and everyone there goes out of their way to help you I look forward to my return trip
I had a reservation for a king suite. The SOLE purpose for staying at THIS property was an American Express bonus opportunity for a $100 spend. I also indicated that I would be arriving late, likely after 7PM. Upon arrival, I was informed that the suites were ALL down for maintenance and had been for apparently at least a few days. No explanation as to why their system allowed me to book the room. I got stuck in a room with two queen beds that failed to meet the spend threshold for the bonus, but I also knew it was late enough that booking elsewhere was not a viable option considering I needed a decent night of sleep (poker tournament today). The bed was the most uncomfortable POS I have ever tried to sleep on, and the pillows are a joke. There are four pillows on each bed that are barely bigger than a throw pillow like you might use on a sofa. Uncomfortable bed and crappy pillows do NOT make for a good night of sleep... The alarm clock was not plugged in, so I had to fight with the center table to get the clock plugged in. The television remote would only work to power on the unit and adjust the volume. A trip to the front desk was necessary to remedy that issue (seems they have some sort of sensor that was not properly affixed). At the same time the desk clerk was coming up to fix that, a family with kids coming from the pool had discovered that their keys to the room were not working. Oh, and the housekeeping crew does not seem to believe in thoroughly vacuuming the room on anything resembling a regular basis. So, if you need a property that won't honor your reserved room, puts in you a room with crappy beds and a television that is balky with floors that are in desperate need of cleaning, then yeah, this property might be for you. However, if you like a property that actually follows through on reservations...look elsewhere. At checkout this morning, despite the sign saying each BW property is independently owned and operated, the young lady tried to blame the reservations issue on 'corporate.' Oh, and if you are on the third floor, get drinks and snacks elsewhere...the bill acceptor for the machine was not even PRESENT. Not broken...actually MISSING. It would seem that Best Western Corporate has absolutely zero standards for what qualifies as a "Plus" property.
We came to Denison for a birthday surprise weekend. We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel rooms were very roomy and beds were comfortable. The TV was a bit small for the room size but we managed for as little as we watched. We had car trouble while there and the hotel allowed us to have a late check-out which was very nice. At least we could stay in our room and not be stuck in the lobby. Not sure why a hotel in Texas have inside pools...that was the only thumbs down for us.
We checked into the Best Western Plus Texoma expecting to stay three nights. The front desk attendant was extremely helpful and kind. Once we entered our room we noticed a stale smell-- and rather than being complainers bought a candle, after all it was a budget hotel. The breakfast was extremely weak: over-cooked/burned pigs in a blanket, some strange fried eggs, and make-it-yourself waffles my kids said tasted sour. The hotel was clean and seemed in good condition but the strange smell and lackluster breakfast were more than we could handle for more than one night. I don't plan on returning to this property. The price per night is attractive but buyer beware.
Helpful staff. Hot breakfast. The room was nice and cold with the A/C on, not stuffy. Good location and parking. Nearby restaurants to have dinner or breakfast at. Walmart was close by if you needed anything.
This was a good value for the price. Clean, convenient, plenty of eating places nearby and good location. I try to stay at this hotel when I am in town visiting family. There was also shopping nearby (to include Walmart).
The Best Western was very good. We were just passing through on our was to somewhere else. So we primarily slept, showered, ate breakfast and moved on. The breakfast service was a challenge; but all else was great.
We had problems and staff did not put their best foot forward in trying to correct them. Heating/cooling system fan ran continuously and we could not get anyone to explain why or correct the issue. Lighting in room was horrible to try and read by.
This an exceptional BW Plus for the money. I stay here around 5 nights per month over the last several years. The staff are really friendly and helpful I would recommend 100%, It is worth every penny.
I picked this location as I was driving towards my destination. It was a great decision. The cost was very reasonable and the room was outstanding. The front desk and restaurant staff took care of my every need.
We spent a night here as an alternative to staying at the casino hotel close by. Rate was reasonable, facility is nice, rooms are very clean and the free breakfast was great! We also used the indoor pool and it was very nice as well. It's a good place to stay in this area!
Me and my husband plus our kids we enjoy our stay here ... the staff is willing to go above and beyond to make you happy plus the staff is very caring I love the great hot breakfast in the morning.. to much to choose from!!! The indoor pool and hot tub the kids loved.. we even stay an extra night because the kids had a great time.. we will return soon to denison and stay here..
We got there around 7pm we used the pool hot tub was very relaxing after 8 hours of drive ....they let us use the pool until 11:00pm in the morning the breakfast was excellent the checkout person "kim" was great and friendly we'll be staying whenever we visit denison again:)
Whenever I am in denison I will stay here ...the staff is very nice they also have great hot breakfast...I also like the idea of having a gym and business center plus the indoor pool and hot tub was very relaxing will stay again for sure.....
Checked in to BestWestern Plus, in Denison, Texas at around 10 pm on Sunday, June 25, 2016. I have stayed here before on the way to Branson, Missouri from South to Texas and has always been a good stay. The hotel decor is nice and the staff was nice and helpful and we got a good rate on a handicapped King suite on 3rd floor. When we got to room it was cold so I tried to adjust thermostat to and it took a while to shut down. I had trouble with the television remote and asked for help at desk tried her suggestion but still had trouble. Room itself was nice and bed was comfortable, but bed was extremely high which was very difficult for my handicapped wife to get up into, she suffers with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). And the handicap shower was a tub with one bar which is hardly accessible. After using shower floor was a big puddle of water, because shower pressure was so strong it leaked around tub. Also in bathroom lights were so dark it was like a dungeon and there was no fan so room steamed up quickly. Also , the refrigerator was inside a cabinet , where it was wet under the door and the refrigerator was also wobbly. Lighting in the room was also too dark , except in the morning when light came in from the curtains because they would not close all the way. Breakfast was ok. I was very disappointed in my stay and not sure if I will stay here next year.
The main parts of the hotel are kept very clean and the staff are nice; however, the carpet in the halls and rooms is very gross. Our room had a wretched smell of dog urine. They graciously moved us.... but to a room with large/gross carpet stains and the room smelled of air conditioner mold.
On the way to Dallas, this is a great place to stop and have an enjoyable rest. Great staff, updated rooms, plenty to eat for breakfast. Rooms are updated, atypical "up town" soaps and shampoos, well appointed.
This is a very nice hotel. The staff are also very nice and also helpful. They do keep up the property, so much so that we got paint on our hands and arms from the furniture the first night. By the next day there was no more wet or damp paint in our room though. The artwork is very pleasant to look at and is located in the hallways and in the lobby. My son and I don't drink at all but we do miss the happy hour. It is something to look forward to. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and it looks just as nice two years later. Some pluses: a nice breakfast, guest laundry (one washer, one dryer), computer room with printer, beautiful main level men's and women's rooms, indoor swimming pool plus hot tub, a very good exercise room with one set of free weights, leg lift chair (usually don't see this at hotels), treadmill, bike, elliptical, a very nice exercise machine, Direct TV, TV and music on some of the machines, and maybe more. We had a suite with a very nice separate bedroom that had its own window, television, nice chair and table, and king size bed. The main room had a king size bed and pull out couch. The suite has a nice size refrigerator and a microwaver. There are lots of electrical outlets and lamps. There is a nice desk with a reading lamp. There is nice artwork in the room. There is in-room coffee and an ironing board and iron. This about sums up this very nice hotel.
Personnel absolutely great. Room cleanliness was not. Crackers on the floor, used bar of soap in the shower, hair in the bathtub. The hotel has the potential to be excellent but they are having housekeeping issues.
Request a room and type of bed configuration - take what you get. They don't tell you what you get, you have to go to the room to see. Lighting sucks, lights in bathroom are so dim you cannot safely apply eye makeup. Lights in the main room are worse than the bath area. You have to sleep with the main light on to get the electrical outlet to work for medical devises.
The entire stay was very nice. The staff was always available and helpful. I have recommended this hotel already to others. There are a few stains in the hallway on the carpet but the room was very clean and nice. The breakfast was very nice as well.
Had an issue checking in with the room type I was given vs what I'd reserved but it was resolved. Other than some road construction nearby, it's a great location and very clean/comfortable. Fast food restaurants within walking distance.
Booked rooms for artists traveling that had to wait even longer to get in to their rooms because of the confusion of the hotel staff. First, they couldn't find the reservations and tried to reroute me to expedia, which I know I didn't use. I get expedia and the phone with them, and once confirmed that it was not through them, the BW rep then tried to say they had computer problems. By then, we were unable to book 2 of the rooms because now they're unavailable and we couldn't get the discounts that we would've had because they were online. To top it off, they accepted my payment for 1 room over the phone. For the 2nd room, I was informed I needed to be there in person for them to authorize it. To make this nightmare shorter, they still charged the wrong card and now I can't seem to get anyone on the phone to correct the problem.
Staff was most friendly and helpful we have experienced. Always very willing to go the extra mile to meet our unusual needs. Able to assist with computer hookup problems and directions to various facilities
Very clean lobby and room. Staff was very courteous and kept breakfast items refreshed. Not a very good place for Boat parking or if you need an outside outlet. Staff is unsure where an outside outlet is as well.
1st when you walk in the lobby it was hot, humid like 90 degrees. Thermostat in lobby is set at 80 degrees. The halls are just as hot. 2nd we had a Best Western travel gift card and the front desk clerk Sharon had no clue how to do it so she called Kim Patel down who also did not know how and she is a mgr. They would not let us check in for over 50 minutes because I would not agree to the charge because EVEN customer service told them they were wrong! My family had to wait in the sauna lobby until they finally figured it out. While Sharon and Kim tried to figure it out they stood at the counter laughing at our family because we had to wait so long to check in, saying how stupid it was because of the amount . It is a Best Western promotion they should know how to do it. Guest complaints finally got her to let us in our room and she was complaining because our rate was low and we were using our gift card. The person Sharon said we had until noon for late check out. At 11:05 they were knocking on the door and Kim Patel called and said "are you going to check out or not" I stated we were given late checkout until noon by Sharon and you were right there when she told us. She states it's only 45 minutes so I guess I won't argue about it . We'll gee thanks it is your job after all. The room was nice and clean beds were okay. Breakfast was cold except for the waffles. The indoor pool was ice cold and the hot tub would not get hot. THE STAFF NEEDS SERIOUS TRAINING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. very disappointing for a Best Western Plus. Go to the Holiday Inn Express across the street it is so much nicer and did the staff is too
There is construction at the interchange with US 75 - so traffic was heavy. Exterior and interior of the hotel is very nice. Large breakfast room - good quality of breakfast too. Room was very large and it was clean - good TV reception. Bed very comfortable. Quiet. Indoor pool - did not use it though! The price was excellent! It is only a few miles from a Casino - very convenient - very surprised on the value.
I travel with my husband for his job. I am blessed to have that option and do enjoy it. Not many hotels allow a pet and if they do they want to much money that is not refundable. I have stayed in two Best Western hotels. One in Denison and one in Austin and they were both great. The one in Denison only put a hold on 25.00 that transferred from day to day for a deposit and nothing was ever charged to my card. Im sure it would have if there had been any damage to do my pet. If you are a good pet owner and take you dog out there should be no problem. The hotel in Austin did not even put a hold on any funds. Again if there had been any damage they had the card number to charge but there was no damage and no charges. As for the rest of the services they were great as well. Breakfast, house keeping etc all super. I will always stay at a Best Western when i can. Safe and happy traveling to you all.
I usually stay across the highway at the La Quinta when I overnight in Denison, but this Best Western offered a better rate this trip. My room wasn't ready when I arrived early, and Kim at the desk was very courteous in explaining they were sold out on back to back nights and housekeeping was behind. It was an ok stay in room 216 with these exceptions: 1. Curtains were extremely stained, and it looked like there was a serious leak in the ceiling by the window. 2. The eggs and sausage were cold on the breakfast buffet. 3. I couldn't get the Rangers baseball game on TV. 4. I asked for a paper receipt under my door but that didn't happen. To end on a positive note, the public areas were beautifully decorated and the outdoor landscaping was very attractive. I got an excellent pizza just down the road at Lili's, and two sides of the hotel faced green space. I saw fireflies at dusk, which made me very happy!
Check in person looked to have been swimming or sweaty not sure which. She was friendly even though dressed extremely casually. This location allows pets and there were several large dogs hanging out on the small swatch of grass by the parking lot. One dog not on leash got away from owner. I had to wait to continue while dog was retrieved. Someone had tracked poo onto rug at side entrance. Spa was in working order and also fitness equipment. Bed was very firm for my comfort level.
This was my second time staying at this location, and will be the only place I stay when in Denison. Clean rooms, great brakefast, friendly people. It's was close to many restaurants and easy access to the highway.
We were upgraded to a King suite. Breakfast area was quite spacious and open. Breakfast attendant was especially pleasant and helpful. Elevator was quick every time. Quiet and pleasant accommodations!
Our room had a pile of bed linen on the bench in the corner, don't know if it was clean or dirty. The shower had half opened & used shampoo and bar soap in it.The TV remote would only work in one spot of the room. When we checked out the next morning I told the gentleman at the counter about the problems, he said his manager would be in that afternoon and would be in touch with me. I have yet to hear from the manager. This is unacceptable in my book.
Denison best western was nice quiet and clean. We have stayed twice now and would recommend this hotel to all our friends and family going through texoma area. The staff was so friendly it made us want to move to denison
I love staying here - such a nice hotel and great service! The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the people are helpful and friendly. I stay here a lot and on the occasions where I have had an issue, they have been quick to take of me.
This hotel is located right by the Texas Oklahoma Border. The hotel is very clean and is totally updated. There are many sites of interest very close, including the Birth Place of Dwight D. Eisenhower. Also there are two restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. I plan on spending many weekends at this hotel.
Clean rooms, great staff, great breakfast. Clean pool area. Dog friendly. Quiet. Kid friendly. Hotel is up to date. Easy check in and check out. Pool isn't heated, but they have a jacuzzi that is to die for.
Jose and Judy Thank You both so much for how we were treated during our 10 day stay with yall !! Thank you both for making sure our needs were met during our stay ! Every time i think about this Best Western i think Home Family and Professionalism to the T !! This is by bar the best place to stay in the Sherman Denison area ! I give it a 20 plus rating !!
Nice room, clean, kids enjoyed the pool- even if it wasn't heated. Vending machine on 2nd floor took money, front desk wouldn't refund. But overall I was pleased with my stay. Breakfast options were ok but quality was lower than I expected.
I don't want to write a review but I can't get past the step without doing it. The hotel is a nice place to stay great breakfast indoor pool near the lake close to downtown short drive to the casino or shermen
The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms were very updated. The breakfast was wonderful with many choices, including real eggs, bacon, and sausage! The beds are a little too firm for my taste, but some people love that. The bathroom hot water took a very long time to get hot, but they probably fixed it after we reported the problem. The employees were very nice.
Comfortable, clean room at a good price on a Sunday evening with our AARP discount, even though we were walk-ins without advance reservations. Friendly, helpful staff accommodated our need to have a late checkout Monday. Breakfast a little better than other similar places, with fresh, hot biscuits the top choice.
Hotel is beautifully done, rooms are very large and are clean. Breakfast was good and all the staff was very friendly. Room prices are very reasonable. My only complaint was we were originally given a dirty room. We called down to the front desk, was told to come get a room key for a different room... as a business owner, I would suggest a different customer approach such as having someone come bring us a key to a new room vs hauling down 2 suitcases back to the lobby to retrieve a key. That kind of service would have been greatly appreciated and would have went above and beyond..
Will not stay again. Different than 2 years ago. Gym was filthy. Room was not cleaned properly. Yuck!! Spoke with manager about the gym. Spills everywhere. Dirty Carpet. Sweat stains. Dirty towels on the carpet instead of in a container. And the air on 76! Smelled like musty sweat. It clearly was not being maintained as I can assure you the use was not recent.
Attractive rooms and hotel. Several restaurants and shopping was close by. Bed was comfortable. Right off the highway; room was quiet. We will definitely stay here again. Wish there had been a city telephone directory at the front desk. Also wondered why there was not a Gideon Bible in the room.
Beds were comfortable, breakfast tasty, hotel as a whole was classy and we'll done. On the down side, trash and dirt was found behind furniture, under the bed and behind the bedside tables. If the staff took care of this cleanliness, it'd be a 5
The quality of the room was very good. The breakfast was very good but lacking a few options. For the price that we paid the quality was excellent. We would definitely stay there again. Leaving the hotel is a challenge to get to restaurants and back onto the freeway.
Stayed here several years ago to a so-so experience. Decided to try it again on a recent trip, based strictly on a decent rate. Bad decision. Upon entering the lobby, all lights were turned off and it was dark, not welcoming at all, in fact, I've been to wakes that were more inviting. We reserved the hotel MONTHS in advance, requesting either a handicapped room, or something on the first floor, wife has bad knees. We ended up on the third floor when the desk clerk couldn't/wouldn't honor the request. She seemed annoyed and distracted. Took a very slow and filthy elevator to the third floor to our room, only to find it was not cleaned. Dragged ourselves back down to the lobby again to wait for cleaning, which took about 15 minutes. The room itself was dated, but decent, bed comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Unless price is your only criteria, I'd stay elsewhere, even for a bit more money. This is our last stay. The hotel just seems to need more active management, and better attention to guest details.
We have stayed twice and both times we have had a great experience. The staff is welcoming. The rooms are spacious. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is one of the best included with stay we have had. The price may seem too good to be true, don't let it fool you. We give a thumbs up to the Best Western Plus concept and this location is one of the best.
If you are looking for a clean , friendly place to stay , then look no further ! i cannot say enough about this place ! Thank you to all the staff , you all go above and beyond to make your guest feel right at home
Great location. Hotel Staff was cordial, rooms were clean and breakfast was the standard. Modern 3 story with elevator. Very quiet area and rooms were available late in the evening. We would definitely stay here again.
Very nice, clean, new hotel with a friendly staff and upgrades to boot. I will definitely stay here in the future. Best Western has come a long way with stepping up to be on the same level with the nicer hotel chains but kept prices reasonable.
The hotel was a large facility, but very clean. I was surprise how quiet the hotel room was. beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and even though there was a tub, it hand railings to assist with getting in & out. I only used the shower but I really appreciate the hand rails as I am a senior citizen and try to be very careful getting in & out of hotel showers that have a tub. In after thought I should have asked for a room more accessible for my needs. I wish there had been a entrance from Highway 75 frontage road, it would have made it easier for me to find the hotel.
This hotel is by far worth the $. The rooms are exceptionally large and I've stayed here 3-5 nights a month for the last two years. Very seldom with any issues but when they happen, they are handled quickly. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
I came here with a group of people, to start they had our reservations messed up so some of our parents waited hours in a conference room for a room to be cleaned. We returned to the conference room a few days later an the same pool towels that were on the counter the first day we arrived were still there, which is a telling sign it had not been cleaned. The maids never brought us towels when they cleaned our rooms, we always had to ask for them. Some of the rooms had there air conditioner freeze up everyday, to remedy they were given a box fan. We did not have a good experience and I will never stay here again!!!
I stay at this hotel every year and typically enjoy it and have NO complaints. This year I waited a little too late to book so had to take what I could get which was a single room, king bed, handicap access rm 221. Obviously it does not get rented out much at all because it smelled of mold and mildew. When asking if I could switch rooms of course the answer is no they are booked up. Oh the smell was awful. I should have paid the additional $30 and went somewhere else for the night, the mildew smell stayed in my luggage for days after leaving. So if you stay at this hotel, avoid room 221! Other than that everything and everyone is always great!
very comfortable clean hotel and friendly staff good quality food at breakfast very enjoyable, service good ,pool area nice and refreshing and workout gym was good and washteria was helpful to clean our clothes and etc.i would recemend to friends to stay there when traveling to area and want a place to stay ovewr night,
We Stayed at this Hotel after experiencing AC problems at our Lake Home. This hotel is conveniently located, has numerous restaurants close by and has always been effectively managed. We have used it when we were building our home and have always had an excellent experience.
This Best Western is a great place to stay private pool and hot tub for guests only(love that fact especially hate to go to Hotels that now guests can get into their pools they have a tendency not to be the cleanest when that happens) great breakfast bar and wonderful area to be in with lots to see and do. Will always stay here when I am in the area. This Best Western has great employees and such a great atmosphere and beautiful décor. I am actually looking at redoing my home bathroom in a similar style as this hotels bathrooms LOL
This was one of the best stays we have had in the last 20 nights on the road. The room was clean, large, and a great size bathroom. It was conveniently located to many eating facilities which were in walking area. The staff was very friendly.
This was our second visit to this hotel and even after two years this hotel remains in very good condition inside and out. When checking in we were greeted by Judy and she was friendly and very helpful in getting us settled. The rooms are great, the beds are great and its is in a quite area. This property is located near shopping and restaurants. One small negative is their breakfast service. The food is served on a long counter as most hotels do but the amount of foods laid out is minimal and not a bid appetizing. I would say that a little tune up in this area would make this hotel top notch.
From the moment I walked in the door I knew I'd made a good choice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was much nicer than I expected. The furnishings were very nice and I liked the fridge and microwave. The room was spacious and comfortable. I couldn't have found a more convenient location in relation to my activities.
Very nice hotel would recommend to stay here pleasant hotel very nice staff cheap rates rooms are very clean very much enjoyed the stay was down for sister memorial will stay again very close to freeway and shopping 12 miles from Lake Texoma witch is a very pretty and a nice place for fishing
We checked into the Best Western to spend a honeymoon night before heading home. After hearing we were on our honeymoon, the owner,(V.J.) came over and updraded our room to the room with a hot tub in it and made our stay the best we could have asked for
The staff is nice, and the rooms are great. However, the LAN internet service has been down for two weeks and no one seems to know when it will be fixed. The Wi-Fi is functional at best. I wouldn't recommend it for business or even entertainment purposes. I've spoken to several staff members about the issue, and I'm always misdirected when I ask to speak to a manager or GM.
Great front desk employees. Make you feel welcome checking and and appreciated when you checked out. Would recommend to everyone. I slept so well because the bed was so comfortable. My room was way bigger than any other hotel I have ever stayed in that it almost felt like an apartment. I didn't want to get up the bed was so comfy. I didn't get breakfast because I slept later than breakfast hours. The GM Vijay is a gem and will go out of his way for his guests.
Beautiful hotel, easy access to freeway. Clean, great breakfast, quiet. The design and interior of room was lovely. Easy directions to the Eisenhower Birthplace. Price was excellent for the great value we received. Thanks for a pleasant and restful stay.
Pleasant stay. Weekend visit. Hotel is kept clean. The breakfast bar as good as any express type hotel. Located easy on and off exit. Close to Mcdonalds, for early coffee. My one comment, bring your own pillow. The pillows were puny. Everything else great. Noticed alot of corporate type workers there; they must also know a good thing. The hotel filled up, so make a reservation. Hope this helps you.
It was a wonderful experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that may be traveling in this area. The staff is very helpful. The room was amazing. I truly slept like a baby. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was just gorgeous.
One overnight for work, so didn't spend a lot of time here but what I saw was very nice. Rates very reasonable. King-bed room was spacious and clean. Hot breakfast items along with the usual continental stuff. Staff was pleasant at check in and check out. I didn't notice the noise that others have mentioned - my room was farther away from US 75 which probably cut down on traffic noise. Only downside was lack of wi-fi, or maybe it was just down when I visited.
loved everything about this hotel although I did hear a lot of road noise. I wasn't able to access wi fi and not sure if it was available onsite or not but would expect it to be for a location this size
I always stay in a Best Western if possible when I travel, but I will not stay at this one again nor will I recommend it to anyone. PROS: friendly staff, good location, huge room, cheap rates. CONS: uncomfortable bed(hard mattress, soft pillows), bathroom tile moves when step on it, paper thin walls and floors(could hear room above me walking around and people next door screaming and yelling at all hours), housekeeper let herself into room at 8pm.
I just needed a nights getaway, and couldn't have asked for a better place than this. The room was so clean, so big, and the TUB amazing. I needed this more than I realized and the lady on staff that evening was truly a gem, and very helpful. I will definitely be back more than likely twice a month from here on out.
Clean rooms, great indoor pool for the kids! Needed a place for extra family members during a family reunion. Kids loved the pool, everyone enjoyed the breakfast. Easy access to events nearby! Would recommend this hotel to others. Reasonably priced, clean, great breakfast and friendly staff.
We come up to Denison once a year and we stay here every visit. The staff is always nice and welcoming and lets us know what has been updated for the best....This year direct TV. Breakfast was out and open at 6 with a wide variety of options. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable.
This Hotel is very nice and clean and our stay was enjoyable. The only issue we had was with the pool. We chose this hotel because of the indoor pool, we like to swim, but the pool was cold, so our swim was not enjoyable.
Would recommend this motel for its great clean rooms, nice breakfast choices and hot food, and very friendly staff. Ordered thru priceline and liked the fact that I was offered bed choice. We had 5 adults so 2 king rooms would not work. Great location, close to shopping and restaurants.
Very pleasant stay. Clean and very updated. All employees were friendly and met you with a smile every time. The breakfast did lack a little luster. Breakfast could stand an upgrade. The gravy and biscuits were really good.
We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room and little touches that we thought would only happen at a hotel that would have cost much more. the service was excellent and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Good location for food, shops & easy access to highway; Very disappointed with breakfast; juice was very watered down; sausage patties weren't hot and very hard; biscuits & gravy were okay; egg omelets were barely warm; always have had a great breakfast at Best Western except for this hotel;
This hotel was very nice! It has downgraded immensely! I WILL NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN!!! The carpet is absolutely filthy! The washing machine was broken, didn't realize it until after it had taken my money, The pool was unbearable! The staff is unprofessional in appearance and demeanor! This was a very nice affordable place to stay! NO LONGER! I will pay to stay in a more pleasing atmosphere! No acceptable and not clean!
Website amenities listed not accurate. We booked this hotel because of the indoor hot tub and pool. They were both full of dirt and the hot tub did not work. When asked they said it was just the breaker and it would be working the next evening. But that the dirt was from the jets.. neve saw that before it just wasn't clean. Literally piles if dirt all over the hot tub. When we checked in the fridge in our room didn't work. We were then moved to another room. In this room the TV was very dark and when we asked about that we were told it was probably going out. The Web sit also states free beer and wine mon - thurs. Well that was not available either. The staff was always sitting watching TV or on the couch using their lap tops. That's if they were even in the lobby. There were a few times we waited at the front desk for several minutes before they came into the building. Will not be staying at this hotel again for sure. We needed a room for four more nights but went to Hampton to extend our stay.
This Best Western is a good option when traveling thru Denison, Texas. We spent two night here, a Saturday and Monday. One night driving north and one night returning south. The first night there was a softball tournament going on with a lot of players and family staying here. This hotel is a good example of what a Best Western Plus is for over night travelers. Clean, easy to get to with several restaurants available locally. Service checking in and out was good with no delays. We would consider staying here again.
The room smelt of burnt popcorn so bad we stayed out of the room as long as possible. It was a shame the trip had to be spoiled with a room that smelled so bad. We may try again on our next trip to gamble.
This was a hotel for the money, the staff was very friendly, and the hotel was very clean. Had an indoor pool and hot tub which was great for kids in North Texas winter. Would highly recommend this hotel.
For the price I paid, the room was very reasonable at this hotel. The breakfast is mediocre, the "hot" items very poor quality, the coffee abysmal. But we didn't stay here for a fabulous breakfast -- we needed a large room for our big family to stay in and the price was extremely reasonable for the large room. Rooms weren't amazing, but were comfortable for our purposes (a weekend stay with our 5 small children to visit with my grandmother). The staff were OK -- not outstanding, but we had no major problems either. We would likely stay again, as it's difficult to find hotels that accommodate my large family, especially for a great price.
I always drive extra miles to stay in this hotel, very good quality on everything!! Plus they always have Peanut Butter for my bread in the morning, I LOVE IT!! I truly recommend it, staff and everything along the hotel is great quality!
I travel for business about half the year. The lobby was clean and inviting. The room was very clean and well kept. This was a nice location for the area. Will stay here again and will be staying at other Best Western locations in the future.
Stayed the night here w/my teen daughter. We were attending a Frankie Valli concert (yes, it was an awesome concert and yes, she was there by her own free will) that evening at the Winstar casino (an hour away). The Choctaw casino is the opposite direction not that far away. There's no shuttles. The room is super spacious and clean. The beds are comfy with three half pillows each...in other words bring at least one of your own. The shower head is tall enough for Giants, but the water isn't hot enough for most females I know (let's be honest we like to burn ??) but it was fine though. There was no mini fridge (I don't know if there was suppose to be one). Now, here comes the awesomeness: The pool and hot tub are open 24 HOURS!! I didn't even know hotels did that!! So, I normally throw in a run down of the breakfast served but I have a confession, the hot tub thing had me in there til 1:30 so we missed breakfast. I'm sure it was great though....the dining room looked nice. We were doing good to get out by that 11 am check out time ??
The first room they put me in, the heater/AC didn't work. They changed my room. The second time I stayed there the AC/heater fan wouldn't turn off. but in both cases the rooms were very nice/large and comfortable. I would rate this hotel above average overall
Decided to save a few bucks and stayed here based on positive reviews. Spend an extra $10 a night and stay at the Hampton. Floors and hallways are dirty, vending machine was empty during our entire 3-day stay. Room was okay but curtain was very dirty and bed skirt had something on it. Won't stay here again.
We spent one night here. Booked online through Beat Western. Got a great rate. Nicely renovated. Clean comfortable room, nice indoor pool and hot tub. As others have pointed out, the breakfast is a little below others but still good. All in all well stay here again!
Modern decor, clean rooms, decent amenities. Staff could use some polish. I understand this isn't a Four Seasons, but I expect your attention when I'm checking in, and not a brisk interaction so you can get back to your game of pool on your very visible cell phone.
Loved this motel. The whole building is non-smoking so the lobby, halls, and rooms all smell good. The indoor pool/spa area looked inviting but we didn't use it. Several restaurants nearby which is convenient. The motel breakfast is great.
The hotel is nice but if you need internet services do not stay at Best Western Plus in Dennison/Sherman. I have stayed at this particular hotel approximately 6 to 8 times. The hotel is clean and the morning breakfast is a little below others but it's something. I would like to mention, if you need internet service do not book at this particular location; internet is horrible!
Great service. Clean comfortable room and bed. Will stay here again! Breakfast was the best we have had breakfast was the best we have had at a best western or super 8. They had eggs and cheese, sausage biscuits and gravy. The staff was friendly and helpful
It's a real shame that the staff here is so poor, because the facility is beautiful. Not only were they not professional, I saw the front desk lady on Facebook three days in a row. Not so much as a smile or good morning from her all three days we stayed. The pool is beautiful, but there's a lot of dirt in it at the bottom. The jacuzzi is huge but doesn't work. Rather then the employees filling the towel holder with towels we had to go ask for towels at the pool. The breakfast was gross, the cereal was stale and the area was messy. We stayed twice in Denison in the last few weeks, we travel a lot. We only stayed in the best western this time because of the indoor pool. We won't be back. Even though the room was nice, that's the only compliment I can give. It's hard to find since there's not actually an entrance from the service road. In general, over all, I wish we had stayed somewhere else.
Room nice, people friendly, breakfast good, clean, quiet (except for 9 am maid wake up even though I had do not disturb sign up. Would recommend. All in all a good deal. Right off the highway and close to target and restraunts.
Clean, enticing pool, freshly redecorated, great people. Really weird access by car due to lack of access from the freeway's access road. Basically yucky breakfast of gluey carbs and those egg-food-product fold-over pseudo omlettes with melted Cheetos goo inside.
Reservations failure. Confirmed for Handicapped accessable; room not available. Overall need for renovation (carpet stains, paint nicks etc). Pool out of service gave an impression of lack of upkeep. Full house over the weekend led to outages of certain breakfast items.
Nice hotel, very good and helpful staff. Rooms are clean as are the halls and lobby. Location is a little difficult to exit from, and room could use better lighting. Breakfast was real good and restaurant s are near by.
We stayed here for a couple of nights last week. During the week. Maybe I mis understood the continental breakfast. The rooms are nice. They have a nice dinning room for breakfast, but neither morning was anything there. The fridge had a few yogurts in it. Not even fresh coffee. Pretty disappointing. We checked in late the first night and the clerk barely even said anything to us. I brushed it off that night. The next morning I went down to front desk for something and another clerk also not friendly or welcoming. Thought it odd. Same thing when I went to check out the last morning clerk never ask about our stay, never said anything. Handed me a reciept and that was it. Like I said rooms were nice and our stay was ok except for breakfast and unfriendly staff. A Hello welcome to our hotel or thanks for staying with us would have gone a long way me. I am a friendly polite person and expect a little customer appreciation when I stay somewhere. A Simple "Welcome to our hotel"and "Thanks for staying with us" goes a long way with me. I have recently stayed at 2 other hotels at this same exit in the last 2 months. Rooms were about the same. But service was much better at both of them. They also both also offered descent breakfast, coffee, juice, etc.
This hotel was a last minute decision and was looking for something reasonably priced. The rooms were beautifully decorated, very clean and well stocked. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub is open 24 hrs. Was very pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again.
we had a very plesant experience staying here. not being familiar with the area, we had trouble finding the hotel. the appearance and condition of the hotel was outstanding. the re is no question that if we are in this area, this is where we would stay.
If appearances alone would provide the sum of a hotel experience, then this Best Western would have a stellar rating. Since, a great rating requires more that appearances, I would not recommend staying here. Elevator usage made it difficult to rest from the noise of the constant "dings" and foot traffic. If that is not enough to discourage your stay, then consider a broken shower hear to bath...
