Lovely, clean rooms. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff

A more-than-basic hotel but sparse in general. Set back from the main street it is quiet, and sits above a parking garage (which we never heard anything from in the hotel). The lobby is quite sterile and customer service is formal and polite but not particularly warm or welcoming or friendly. Room was a very good size and comfortable for a 2-night stay. Seem to be more business travelers and it was quiet for sleeping. Convenient to walk to several cafes and restaurants. While there was nothing "wrong" with this stay, I think we'd look for something more charming or personable/friendly for a subsequent stay.

Very good quality for a 3 star hotel - better than some 4 star I've stayed in. Central location and helpful staff. Very clean and decent sized room. Bathroom very good quality and air con efficient. Nice to have fridge in room and outside terrace nice addition. Would definetly stay here again.

Great, centrally located near the city center. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They kindly communicated with us in English and helped us navigate some transit in addition to letting us store our bags for a bit. The rooms were clean and had all that we needed.

You're in the heart of the city and only 2 min walk to center of the city with all local bus/tram connections. Restaurants/coffee shops are all around the hotel in walking distance as well as a grocery store right next to it. Very quiet.

This Best Western is very well located near center of Darmstadt. Nice breakfast, free lattes and other coffee from machine in lobby. Several decent restaurants, natural food store, and nice bakeries within a couple blocks. But the rooms are small, and the hotel avoids certain services. For example, no one available to help bring bags in or out. Room cleaning only on request, and you have to confirm that they will clean on the day you requested or else they might forget (like they did with us). Finally, there's no clothes cleaning service offered by hotel, or even available in the vicinity. So make sure you don't arrive with lots of clothes that need washing, or you might be forced to just buy new clothing.

Have stayed here several times over the past dozen years or so. Would never stay anywhere else. Staff is excellent…front desk, breakfast room, housecleaning. Rooms and public areas always clean and welcoming. Great morning breakfast service by welcoming staff. And great central location to town sites and all transportation. We'll always return to Best Western, Mitte.

I had a clean spacious room, with a decent sized bathroom (not large, but not cramped either), the hotel is simple but a very good value. The staff were all very friendly, I requested an allergy free room and it was no problem. The location is one block from the pedestrian shopping zone, and a few blocks from the major museums (which are terrific, and not crowded) I was there mostly to visit the architectural gems of Mathildenhöhe, and also the gardens. All were within pleasant walking distance of the hotel. There is an elevator up to the hotel reception, and it is set behind the front street facade, which contributed to a quiet place to stay. There is a no fuss buffet breakfast, and a lounge area if you like. Altogether a good place to stay in Darmstadt.

The hotel location is closed to city Centre (Shopping malls, Resturant's, cafe, near to public parking with special discount from the hotel,) helpful hotel staff. The room was clean and good breakfast

Great central location although car parking has to be paid for which is standard for most hotels in the area, but the car park is adjcent to the hotel and is a couple of Euros per day cheaper for hotel residents. Nice clean comfy, bright airy room, good wi-fi. The hotel was very, very quiet with only a handful of guest in these Covid times. Felt very safe, excellent Covid safety precautions in place, hand lotions available, rooms are only entered by staff every three days, ozone room cleaners (we saw them, they do exist!), good distancing throughout hotel and dining room. Breakfast was pre-ordered, can be eaten in room if preferred, and was excellent. Really friendly helpful staff - this is a great place to say and we will return.

I stay at this hotel several times each year, and it's always outstanding. The staff are unfailingly polite and helpful, and the facilities are fantastic. The breakfast buffet is INCREDIBLE - delicious, freshly cooked and lots of choice - and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. There is a free coffee machine in reception, and a very reasonably priced bar. The hotel is quiet and ideally located for everything in Darmstadt. I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is a standard hotel with a good location in the city centre. It is easy to reach by car and thetre is a parking garage next to it. Rooms are standard. Clean and well maintained. TV is overrepresenting pure German channels, I did not find any english channel - pity! Breakfast options are limited, but all vital parts are included and quality high and well tasting. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are OK. This is a good no fuzz "bed and breakfast" hotel.

We went on Nov.2019 to a business convention in Frankfurt (all Frankfurt hotels were booked or were at 800-900 euros per night and we had the Best Western for 300 per night!). The Central station is about 20 minutes walking, but you can take the tram from Darmstadt Centro which is about few minutes walking from the hotel. Rooms are very small for North American standard, but I think is normal for European Hotel near the city center. Breakfast buffet, included, was very good and they offer coffee and tea, included, all day. Overall, it's not a 5* but quality/price is excellent and the service make the difference.

Have been there before, very friendly staff, clean rooms, right in the center, walking distance to theater. 12€ per day to park in public garage next door. Supermarket is also next door. My room had a fridge with room for your own stuff

Spotless place with extremly friendly staff. Rooms normal standard, very clean. Breakfast is wonderful plenty of cheese ham, fruits and everything you wish for. Free coffee machine with latte, cappuccino etc.at reception.

Third stay here in recent years. Always excellent. Very welcoming, caring and helpful staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room. Very clean and comfortable rooms and beds, and public areas, including the small patio/garden area nice for an afternoon rest or evening reading and beer. Really like the central location in downtown with easy access to virtually everything this wonderful city has to offer, including several restaurants, bars and shops right on the same street, major public transportation right around the corner. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone whether for a leisure or business visit. Thank you for a wonderful repeat stay.

While on business in Darmstadt, I stayed at this hotel. Got great pleasure from a convenient location. In the very center of the city, near the pedestrian zone (St. Louis Square). Around many cafes, shops and restaurants. It is convenient to have business meetings in the hotel's lobby or on the summer terrace.

This is the a very good hotel near Darmstadt railway station. I have stayed here twice for almost 3 weeks in total and loved it both the times. Positives: + The rooms are big and well maintained. + The breakfast spread is good. + Big property and well managed. + Near Railway station. Negatives: - If you are on lower numbered rooms on any floor, trains will trouble you. Like 701 to 710 or 601 to 610 etc. - Away from the town center. - No real road crossing in the front of hotel. Overall, if you are on a business trip with office around this area, a good option.

The hotel is located close to the Main Railway station in Darmstadt. The room I stayed in was located at the back side of the hotel - facing the rails. I was afraid the noise would have a negative impact on the quality of the sleep, but luckily I was wrong. But if you are very sensitive, you should book the room facing the street. The rooms are very nice, with large beds, wooden floor, coffee/tea maker, fridge, large TV etc. Very good choise if you stay in Darmstadt for business.

Great location in the centre of town with easy access with a car and a parking at the hotel. The positive- clean and quiet rooms, coffee/tea available 24/7, internet connection, the staff is helpful. The so-so - access to the lobby and rooms is not very convenient with luggage, sometimes requires to go via stairs. The bad - price is too high so cost effective - not sure... there are probably better options from the economic perspective. Also - no Gym at the hotel, need to walk a few blocks (although the Gym there is absolutely great). Overall a good stay.

It is an average hotel, the rooms are a bit dark for my taste. It has a reasonable restaurant (and a bar for the people interested on having a drink). It has clean rooms and bathrooms, the bathrooms has the minimal required (which is fine), the beds and pillows are also reasonable. I had an issue with the gym. I always book an hotel with a gym. When I checked-in I asked the whereabouts and the receptionist advised that it was closed and that I had to go to an outside place, very close. The point is that there is a big construction between the hotel and that gym, the directions that the hotel team have given to me were wrong (a bridge over the rails were closed) and I had to go back, I went to another route and ... the gym was closed. The person in the reception gave me wrong opening times. In this sense, I think that the service was less than desirable, plus when I complained about this to the person in the reception at the time I went to the gym (6:00am) he grinned, while I said that I did not find the situation funny. In summary: pay more attention to service!

The hotel is located in central Darmstadt easily reached from Frankfurt Airport by bus and connected to the Messe by S3 Bahn. The hote is very clean friendly same staff for years. Rooms are cozy large and breakfasr starts 6:30 and very rich. Yey very cost effective

I recently stayed here for four nights for business travel. The staff was very friendly, spoke English and were more than helpful. The rooms were modern and clean, though not much of view since the hotel is located in the middle of other buildings. Its location more than makes up for the lack of view, since you are within short walking distance to shopping, food, bars and beer. So the location is excellent. Internet was fast and breakfast was good. This is a great hidden gem of a hotel and very quiet and relaxed.

The hotel is in the heart of the old town very close to Luisenplatz, just a few minutes by walk. There are lots of places to shop and eat around. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is very good. The front desk also provided a iron and ironing board and request and they were able to hold my bags when we checked out in the morning on the last day. It is easy to get a taxi and the front desk will call one for you immediately.

Although it´s quite weird to get to the hotel entrance it is very well located. 3 blocks from the bus station (u can get to the airport for 9 euro), in front of an italian pasta restaurant, almost next to a pretty nice meat/sausage restaurant and some blocks away from the centre of the city. Breakfast was pretty good and perfect room if you are just passing by.

Ideal place for a short stay in Darmstadt. Close to the pedestrian area of the "old town", you can take some hours of relax after a full working day. Parking is in the hotel (pay at the automatic machine). The receptionists are very professional and kind. Room is clean, with a fast wifi connection and good air-conditioning system. The view from the window was on the roof..but it was not my intention to stay there during the day. .Good breakfast. I enjoyed my stay.

Can be a little difficult to find and doesn't look too impressive from the street level, but the rooms are nice and bright. Very nice staff that helps you 24/7 and speaks excellent English. Great breakfast table. Many restaurants just outside the hotel and 250 yards to the city center and Luizenplatz.

I stayed in September 2017. The hotel is located 2 blocks from the town square and all of the public transportation. It's very clean and the staff are professional and helpful. The breakfast was awesome!! It had everything – fruit and yogurt bar, pastry bar, assorted cereals and oatmeal, eggs, sausages, cappuccino machine, etc. The room was a good size with plenty of storage area for clothes and luggage. The bathroom had a really narrow bathtub so when showering, I found myself always sliding. They should just remove the tub and install walk-in showers. Also, no facecloths or hair conditioner. They use that 3 in 1 soap, shampoo, conditioner stuff. Fortunately, I had my own. But no facecloth. One thing I was pleasantly surprised by – the way the hotel is laid out, there is a large Zen Garden in the courtyards that separate the two sides of the hotel. You can't enter the garden, but the walls of large windows still give you a sense of tranquility. Every time I walked by, I just breathed a little more deeply and easily. The one thing I didn't appreciate – my stay was arranged and prepaid through AAA. When I wanted to leave a day early (and I gave MORE than 24 hours' notice), they refused to refund the day's charge. Something about “commission.” I don't care about commissions. If I give over 24 hours' notice, I expect a refund. So I'll look to AAA about that.

Great hotel, quiet and comfy. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet. Central location, walking distance to main transport hub and restaurants. And the little welcome gift on the beds are a nice touch. The breakfast is VERY good, great meatballs and fresh pretzels!

Staff was very friendly and you got feeling you are very much welcome. Room was average level, my Room was in first floor and there was odd smell but and okay for one night sleep. Breakfast quite normal and was included in Room price. It was very hot day but air condition worked well. Free Wi-Fi

I was a little surprised when we pulled up to the door but once inside the staff are friendly ,rooms are good size ,clean and the location is central Darmstadt. Close to coffee shops ,restaurants,shopping and pubs. The breakfast in the morning is both hot and cold food with lots of choices.

We did stay just one night to this nice hotel in the heart of Darmstadt. It is very close to the pedestrian zone and attached to the car park "Grafenstrasse". The room was very clean as well as quiet so we spent a comfortable night. One minor minus point: If you use the car park, then you have to take a small stair from the top level of the car park elevator to the hotel lobby. Not very convenient if you have large or heavy luggage to carry.

A positive experience, clean and silent rooms, comfortable beds! The only thing i missed was that there was no proper bar in the hotel, but that was a minor thing only. Breakfast was excellent - fresh and some locally produced stuff.

Location is perfect 2 minutes walk form Luisenplatz - a hub for all trams and buses . The hotel staff is very welcoming and happy to accommodate your needs. Breakfast is cozy and well served, nice atmosphere with view to an interior garden. We had a nice stay again (last year we also chose this hotel)

The Front Desk Staff is very professional and pleasant. The rooms are clean and some of them are spacious. The location is great. The Windows Open, both wide and slanted, which is perfect. In walking distance to shops, restaurants and bakeries. My favorite bit of the room: clean hot water kettle. Not the rusty, moldy plastic ones you get elsewhere, a good quality, clean, steel one. Yes the bathroom is small and the entrance is odd with its weird stairs pyramid to the adjacent parking structure and parking is 12 euros/ night, but my only issue with the hotel is the price. There are deals to be had, but it can get strangely expensive on some nights and compared to even higher star hotels around Frankfurt, it's a bit off-putting. I would definitely stay here again, should the price be nice.

I stay in BW during this week and the attention of the reception staff is superb. The hotel location less than 100 meters from Louisen Platz the personal, the room is not to big but enough and very clean, even when the breakfast is not so big it has enough food to have a nice breakfast. Very happy to have selected this hotel.

The hotel is 20-25 mins drive from Frankfurt airport. I was on a business trip with my colleagues. We reached there late in the evening. The check in process was very smooth and we had asked for certain suggestions for dinner. The places suggested by them were really good.. Also, we requested for a small room for our discussions and it was made available immediately. I would recommend this hotel because of their hospitality, polite staff and friendly rooms..

Awesome room, extremely comfortable, was concerned since it was close to the front desk, but it was very quiet. Great staff, Great food, Great location....a bit funky that you had to go upstairs in order to get to the front desk, but loved the place, I'll be back if ever in the area again.

We stayed here about 3 weeks and found the hotel to be quite comfortable. The staff spoke English and we're very helpful. Room was a good size and had a mini fridge. Breakfast was big with lots of choices, cereals, eggs, bacon, sausage, meats and cheeses. Im very happy we stayed here.

I wasn't sure at first based on the location of the hotel, it was behind another building. Once I was in the building it was great. The rooms are a good size, friendly staff and the hot fresh breakfast was really good. It was very close to the center of town, about two blocks away, close to many shops and restaurant. Would definitely stay there again.

This is one of my favorite hotels in Darmstadt. The staff are friendly and the check in and out procedure super smooth and quick. It's located right near the town center so very easy to travel from here. The rooms are comfy and in a quiet area. The wifi works well. The breakfast is always good.

The hotel staff is very welcoming and friendly. Cleanliness is perfect. Breakfast service is one of the best I have had in many years, variety in a simple and organized disposal, again staff incredibly nice! The location is also very convenient close to Luizenplatz, bus to airport and central amenities. Very nice hotel, and excellent management.

It is a Best Western - not a Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The rooms are larger than most in Darmstadt. It is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is goo and inexpensive. Best part of the hotel is the location. Right in the center of the city - you can walk to shops, restaurants and bars. Close to train to commute to the office or other part of the city. I travel to Darmstadt frequently for work and it is my new favorite.

Very well placed, close to the center of the city (allow to go out at evening and try restaurants and bars, but also go to TRAMWAY). Cheap and great specially minibars in the room and breakfast. The internet connection was very good (>1Mo/s for me). You can take a coffee free of charge whenever you want at reception... I highly recommend it. The staff always smiles and is very nice.

The room was very clean, but very small. The bed was tiny. It reminded me of being in a cabin on a cruise liner. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Overall, the atmosphere of the hotel was pleasant. It was also quiet.

Comfortable room, plenty of space and very clean. Clearly housekeeping standards are very high. Breakfast was included in the tariff, and there was an excellent choice, all fresh and very well presented. Nice reception, public lounge areas with newspapers, chess board, computer and television - also complimentary drinks machine with great hot chocolate, so didn't use the kettle in our room. Being close to shops, cafés, Christmas market and places of interest the location is ideal, just a few minutes walk from Luisenplatz which was important for us to get the tram to visit family. St Ludwig's Church was for us within easy walking distance and The Mathildenhöhe, Wedding Tower and Russian Church a longer uphill walk. Car park right next door but we didn't use it. There was some noise from early morning deliveries to a nearby business. It may bother some people but it wasn't an issue for us and can be expected in a city. All staff we met were friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in the center of the City and within 5 minutes walking from everything. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The parking is in the public parking garage next to the hotel and is 12 Euro per day.

Very satisfied with this hotel. Great location to everything in downtown Darmstadt. Staff was extremely helpful, kind and patient. Had a problem with my reservation that could have resulted in me not having a place to stay. The problem was my fault but the staff never made me feel bad and even though they were fully booked, found a way to allow me to stay for which I am very grateful for. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices and excellent coffee. Room was large for a European room. Very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Darmstadt.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel every year for many years on the last day of our annual visits to Germany. The hotel is clean, efficient, quiet, and serves the best breakfast. Rooms are low priced on the weekends. It is right in the center of the city and close to restaurants and shopping. For those departing from Frankfurt Airport, you can take the Autobahn that goes by the west side of the airport (the A67 I believe) thereby avoiding the usual traffic mess at the Frankfurter Kreuz for a smooth no hassle ride to the airport. On your way out of Darmstadt you even have a convenient gas station for topping of your tank.

Perfect location in city centre but there is a parking house in the same building so don't worry about parking. It is easy. Staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms big and high standard. You have free coffee at the resection 24/7. Breakfast good and a lot to choose from. If I return to Darmstadt I for sure will stay here again.

Greeting by the staff was wonderful. Basically hand carried me thru the drill of "here's everything". In the center of Darmstadt and within the pedestrian walkway of all sorts of shopping, dining, pubs, etc. As a smoker, this property gets extremely high praise for providing a unique garden facility for smokers. Never seen anything like it and I really appreciate their effort. I'm exactly 6 steps from registration.....but there's no coffee/tea service in my room.....that's because there's 24 hour coffee/tea service right there in the registration area....awesome!!

Spent two nights. Hotel staff very friendly and efficient. Provided business breakaway room for discussions. Rooms spacious and very neat. Breakfast excellent. Best coffee and available 24 hrs at front desk.

I was there on 24 Sep for one night. It was my 4th visits to this hotel. Staff recognise me and are friendly . The hotel is clean with the coffee machine at the lobby . Breakfast was good . Staff service also excellent. Good location for shopping . There is discounted supermarket just outside the hotel.

This is an excellent example of what an hotel is all about. When you have not booked anything and it is the Frankfurt motor show and you manage to find a room thanks to the brilliant staff of Darmstadt's Best Western, especially Julia. The hotel is extremely confortable with all the services needed, the breakfast is very good, way better than most hotels and it is very easy to park in the street.

large rooms with air con and peace and quiet pleasant and helpful staff and typical German efficiency - breakfast was also better than expected for the buffet - foreign bacon simply doesn't cut it though would stay again for a reasonably cheap stay in a good central location

This really is a decent hotel, but I cannot work out why it doesn't have a restaurant. The breakfast is good with fair variety and good quality but the restaurant id closed for the rest of the day. As the area doesn't have a wealth of decent restaurants, a few cafes in the Marktplatz, then a decent food option at dinner would seem sensible.

Frank the manager was brilliant looking after my group of 25. Helped with luggage as access to the lobby is by lift. Don't let the position put you off as technically the hotel is over a car park. On the plus side great parking if you are travelling by car. Breakfast was excellent. Coffee in the lobby free! Hotel is well positioned for sightseeing, right in the center of the city. But quiet. Also near lots of restaurants. Darmstadt a must if you are interested in Art Nouveau/Jugenstil.
