We only wish we could have reviewed the attributes of this hotel. We made reservations via the AAA. It said the hotel was pet friendly with a $15 a night per pet charge - pricey, but OK. We put in the notes that we would be bringing our "old cat" with us. They then confirmed our reservation and charged my card for the entire amount. So, thinking all was good, we drove down to Coos Bay only to be told by the staff that we couldn't stay there with our cat as they had a no cats policy. They also didn't know if a refund was possible, saying we had to contact AAA about that. We then contacted AAA. The AAA Representative claimed a refund was up to Best Western, not AAA. She would contact them and let us know, but a refund seemed like a no brainer to me since they wouldn't allow us to stay at their hotel. She did send me an email the next day to say the refund was approved, but it might take 10-14 days to show up.
Definitely an older propers but they have done a good job keeping it in decent condition. Breakfast was very good probably above average for typical hotel fare. You can definitely hear the cars go by, property is on a busy street. Room has plenty of space and includes a refrigerator and microwave.
We could not of had a better stay then we did at the Best Western Holiday Hotel. From our first visit with the Staff to not wanting to leave. The Pool, the Breakfast, The View, everything was the best. I really couldn't say one thing was better than the other because they were all amazing. My 9 year old daughter would say it was the pool me I think the Breakfast while my wife would for the room, it was roomy, and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud.
Friendly staff, quick check-in and no drama. lots of parking, some oversize parking close to downtown and the river front Casino. I was surprised by how quiet this location was, especially since it was quite full.
Not as roomy as others I've stayed at, and the hot breakfast was not as nice, but they did have the usual sausage eggs, etc., just more like warmed-over frozen food. So if you're looking for the usual stellar BW breakfast, this one could be better. Otherwise motel was quiet, firm mattresses, clean room and good service.
family vacation, to enjoy the sea, we had planned to rent the same hotel for the rest of the days, but upon seeing how dirty the rooms were, how stained the sheets were and how horrible the bathtubs were, we decided not to stay there even one more day. We don't even bathe, the bathtub is disgusting.
The ADA rooms are right next to the highway (as are others). The hotel is located between the north and south lanes of the highway as it runs through town so the traffic goes through all night long. The technology does exist to soundproof hotels but it hasn't been used here.
Maintenance crew came into my room unexpectedly after I checked into my room to install cable. 3 men. They stayed for 1/2hr with saws and yelling through the walls. Very unprofessional. They should have done this before a guest was checked in and further, if it was an absolute necessity that they came in I should have been advised they would be there. They opened my door with a key card. Luckily I was not using the restroom or changing or doing something else equally embarrassing. After calling the front desk about this incident they became rude and almost confrontational with me about it. I was shocked. I guess paying guests don't matter and privacy and safety isn't much of a concern for these folks. I'm normally very satisfied with Best Western but I will never stay at this location again.
We booked a room with 3 beds but only 1 had a blanket, when we asked the front deck for 2 more there was only 1 more available in the whole hotel. It seemed like we were asking a lot from the front desk when we explained 5 people will use 5 towels as well.
Stayed here for 3 nights. If you are bothered with traffic noise be sure to get a room in the middle of the property - the hotel straddles the main highway which is busy even through the night. Staff here are superb and nothing is too much trouble for them. Room was modern and well furnished and had a very comfortable bed. Bathroom was small but had a bath with overhead shower. Sink was located just outside next to the room door. The pool and hot tub were excellent and a great way to relax after a busy day. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was OK. The member of staff taking care of breakfast was lovely. A special mention also for Tamara on reception who was great
This roadside motel took me back to my childhood days of traveling with my parents, the exterior doors, small bathroom. Obviously Best Western has acquired this older property and updated it. I was a bit concerned when I arrived as there were several men hanging around in the parking lot, on the stairs, in a pickup truck. Not sure what that was about but they left eventually. The parking lot was full overnight with travelers. The mattress was excellent, seemed new. A nice hot breakfast was provided. There is some road noise so get a room away from highways if possible.
Walked into room and had bodily fluids or some type of stain (ick) on the bedspread. Mold on ceiling in shower. Dead moth or at least half a dead moth on carpet. The place is a dump. Go to another place or another town. The male manager was awful and yelled at me for trying to show him all these things listed above. Worse BW I have ever stayed at.
It was a great visit I wish I could stay for a longer time breakfast was a-good value , room was net and clean ,internet axcess worked well,, hotel staff was very helpful ,, thanks for a positive stay ,I will visit again
My wife and I enjoyed our spacious room and the excellent breakfast. We were attending a high school reunion in Coos Bay and Best Western provided a pleasant stay for us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem was that the tv remote didn't work at first, but it was quickly fixed. We were pleased with the breakfast selections.
Good location. Staff was friendly. Was a good experience. The beds were comfortable and they had great maid service. The room was quiet. If we decide to travel back we will try to book there first. You don't have to go through booking agency
We were concerned this room was not properly cleaned based on the fact the the previous guest left black underware under the table which would have been found if the cleaner had vacuumed correctly. The faucets drip and the toilet runs. The carpet is so stained we were afraid to walk on it without shoes on. I had a hard time sleeping in the bed because I wasn't sure the bedding had been cleaned.
Nice and centrally located. Very comfortable bed. Great spa. It's on the main highway, so there was a bit of traffic noise in our room that faced that direction. The staff was very helpful and welcoming!
It cost over $200 for tattered towels, damaged furniture, a view of the wall of the grocery store and a poor breakfast. On the good side the shower was nice. We usually stay in another town and went to Port Orford the next night for a lovely ocean front view and great room for less money.
Good choice, summer on Oregon coast is busy! Check In was easy. Even between the north and south bound Hwy 101, the rooms were quiet. I would request/ choose a room across from the office where you can park right outside your room with no stairs at all. Free Breakfast quite adequate with good options.
Hotel is a little dated, however it's better than a lot of newer hotels and you can't beat the price for the area. We checked in and they gave us the family suite above the office which we all really enjoyed. It has a view of the bay and they allow pets for only $20 extra. The breakfast was great. Bigger than your standard breakfast. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're traveling and through.
This hotel is one of the better places to stay in Coos Bay, but that is because there are few options. My room was clean but dated. The bed was comfortable and there was a good breakfast included in the room. Check-In staff showed perfunctory attitude, but Check-Out were friendly and helpful. Parking is limited due to layout of the buildings, if you arrive later in the evening you may have to walk a bit to your car. I had to carry all my things upstairs, no elevator. Entire town of Coos Bay has car prowl issues, so don't leave anything visible in your car overnight. This hotel is within walking distance of some good restaurants and the downtown area.
Horrible rooms, just out right nasty. The smell was horrible, bath tube was horrible we had to get our money back it was so bad. Staff at desk where rude. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here. Just horrible.
This is a great hotel for a family business vacation friendly people working there good breakfast great service overall clean rooms right in the middle of town. A lot of places to go visit within walking distance, restaurants, gift shops, boardwalk, all kinds of stuff to do
Visiting my family from UK, I stayed for one night in this hotel with my daughter, her husband and 2 small children. To start positively, the pool was great and our room seemed clean and tidy on first look. We had to ask for enough towels, although we had clearly stated there would be 5 of us staying in that room. It was a family room with two larger beds and a sofa bed. Oh the horror though when we ‘unwrapped' the rather shabby sofa bed. It was unmade, a thick felt pad was screwed up any old how. The mattress cover was disgustingly dirty. Removing that showed the terrible worn-out state of the mattress. Reception staff provided a clean felt pad, but did not have a spare mattress cover. I found sheets and one blanket in a drawer and made up the bed myself. I'm one of those people that can sleep on a washing line, but next morning I could feel every wire coil of that -fall-into-the-middle mattress against my body. We didn't stay for breakfast, so I cannot comment. I guess the accommodation is ok as long as you don't need the sofa-bed.
Unplanned stay here. While working our way south down the Oregon coast and got here by dusk so just stopped in. Great rates, and clean room. We had a large dog with us, there was a small nightly fee, and they gave us dog treats at check in. Very welcoming and accommodating for dogs! Hotel seems to be in a good/safe area of town and is very close to many good restaurants and the front desk has many suggestions. Great free breakfast options! Only negative is traffic is a little loud as it's located between the two Hwy 101 lanes.
Friendly staff and nice clean rooms with one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in awhile. The whole experience was great from checking in to checking out. If you need a place to stay on the Southern Oregon Coast this is the place.
Stay was nice. Rooms were clean no issues. Went to see family. Nice location for me central to the places I needed to go. Room was next to road but noise was not really bad at all. Need more handicapped parking and rooms. Parking was the only issue
There is no great view of the bay, nor are the rooms up to date or clean. It has basic amenities and a great breakfast. People are very friendly who work this location and it is easy to get Uber eats. However I would only advise this location if you won't be in your room much and need a last minute hotel.
Customer service was excellent. Room was extrmemly clean. The hotel itself was very well kept. I did not use the exercise room or pool like i planned to. But from wgat i saw it was clean. Its nuce to see a hotel have an exercuse room.
Very pleasantly surprised. Our first reservation was bungled, so we stopped here. From the moment we walked in, the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The room was very clean and pleasant and comfy. It's between north and south bound hwy 101 and I wondered about noise, but it didn't bother me. Rooms in the middle might be quieter. Loved that we could park outside our door, northern unit, bottom floor. Would definitely use again.
I stayed at the Best Western in Coos Bay earlier this week….not impressed. The rate was 180 US. I don't mind paying for hotels that are worth this…..I've stayed in many hotels and was Director of Sales and Marketing for many years with hotels in Tourism. This was not worth the money. The room was dark and dated. There was pooled water outside my door. The shower/tub did not drain when I showered. At least 6 inches of water was left in the shower. In the morning at the breakfast bar, there was a black hair lying on top of the cut up oranges. I told the front desk about this and the shower upon check out. They did not ask how my stay was and when I mentioned what happened, they said they would have it looked at. Not even a mention of a credit or anything to rectify the situation. I would not recommend or stay there again.
I have stayed in many Best Western Hotels. This hotel has it all; great rooms, free breakfast, pool and most important... GREAT EMPLOYEES ! They are both kind and knowledgeable. This will be my forever hotel chain !!!
Enjoyed to pool and hot tub. It was a Great breakfast, hot, lots to chive from. Beds were very comfortable. Easy access to our room. Just parked right out front. Hwy was a little loud but ear plugs work well.
We traveled from Texas to California up the 101 to Oregon to Montana to Utah and back to Texas enjoying multiple National and State parks along the way, staying at numerous hotels and the Best Western was the Best experience we had along the way!
We've been staying here for years. It's in a good location. You can walk to a lot of things. The staff has always been pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast is included which is a win win for families. The pool area is great for kids and the hot tub is great for parents. The rooms aren't anything amazing but they are clean and mostly comfortable.
This was a very nice place to stay. They offered breakfast and the rooms were comfortable. It was centrally located so easy to get around. We had family that lived there and took us through Coos Bay and Nortg Bend.
We got here and spoke with Anne rude old lady checked in my husband and me. Prejudice old lady with awful mouth telling us for 2 beds and double rooms rude Prejudice because my husband and I have an age difference which is none of her business. I have been married to my husband for 28 years old rude lady smile Anne your a rude lady.
I thought the room would be much more updated for the price we paid. I wasn't happy about the price, but when I saw the room, I was really disappointed. The hotel we stayed at the night before called to let us know they had a room. I told them no because I had already talked to this motel. Had I known the condition for the price, I would have gone to the previous hotel. It was a hundred times nicer, and it would have saved us about $70.
The room was clean overall, which is most important to me. We were traveling with our family so we were looking for a room to accommodate six. This one had a pull out sofa bed, but the mattress was awful. There were not enough towels or cups to accommodate six people. The breakfast they served was great, zero complaints there. I don't think I would stay at this place again because it was very high priced and not a good value for the money. It worked in a pinch.
Very dated! Just a roadside motel with views of nothing but the parking lot. Definitely not worth the price. Below par for sure. Some interior and exterior corridors but all same view and musty smell and small and run down. I am a platinum BW rewards member and this is not what I expected to find.
We stayed three nights at the Best Western Holiday Hotel. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The hotel was clean, the staff pleasant and helpful, though short staffed. Comfortable beds. I liked that the bathroom fan didn't go on each time you turned the light on, but could be turned on just when you wanted it on. The heating/cooling system was easy to manage. The only negative for us was the price. Much pricier than we would like.
Stayed at the Coos Bay Best Western during our Oregon road trip. Hotel location is good in that you can walk to restaurants, and have the river walk nearby to stroll. If noise is an issue, note this hotel is located between two highways. It did not bother us, but some may find it an issue. Only issue I would have is that the breakfast hours were very short as compared to other Best Westerns we have stayed at. This is also an older hotel but is very well kept up. Room clean and welcoming.
Good staff and nice pool facilities. when I lost my credit card the staff were very honest and they returned the card - very honest. they were very courteous. I will return to this Best Westen, as soon as, I can.
Not worth the money. Very old building with a weird remodel. The sink counter in our room was really low, about 3 feet. The windows didn't lock correctly. The woman at the front desk seemed disgruntled and not very friendly. River view is not scenic at all.
As I reviewed last year, we chose this hotel for the kitchen feature and we got the same room this time. It's large with two queen beds, a small table to eat at and a separate sink/counter/mirror from the toilet/shower which we like. We used the ironing board and iron this time. The breakfast buffet is open now, so on our last day we ate that instead of cooking. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. Good variety of food (hot and cold) and spaced out tables. The staff at reception were friendly and professional both at our arrival and departure.
We stayed for 1 night on a recent west coast road trip. As you can see there are only really 8 hotels in the area so the picking is slim. The hotel is showing it's age but the rooms were clean and comfortable. From what I can tell from other hotel options, all hotels in this area are older. Although our room was at the end right next to the road, we couldn't really hear it. Also note that it is a motel (access only from the outside). The breakfast was typical. We didn't get to use the pool. Check in and out was easy. The price is high, but is similar to others in the area so probably not able to get away from that.
Large area of mold growth under the window because the shower hot water couldn't be turned off fully so humidity in the room was way too high. Wouldn't recommend anyone stay here as this seems like a potential health hazard. Also the refrigerator went on and off overnight so the food I had in there had to be thrown away.
Stress free booking! Pre-check in was quick and easy. I was able to upgrade to a hot tub room. Staff is friendly. Hot Breakfast was delightful. All of this rolled together made our quick trip to Coos Bay satisfactory.
This is the 3rd time we've stayed at this BW, & we'll definitely go back again. The staff is friendly & accommodating, & the rooms are always clean. We stay at BW whenever possible when traveling. The only complaint was with the 'hot' breakfast..the selections were few, & the food was not hot, or even warm.
This was my first time in Coos Bay, OR. I am impressed by this hotel- it was a comfortable stay and the staff was excellent! The hotel is next to the boardwalk, which was a great place to walk and next to Natural Grocers. I would stay here again for sure
This hotel was rundown, some cosmetic fixes were made, but the room smelled and it was noisy, housekeepers was banging on our door at 9 am!!!! Tv wouldn't work and shower head was broken. Front desk staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok
As a disabled person I was given the only room on the ground level with eight steps in front of it. I was given the room because it was the closest to the hot tub. I couldn't find the hot tub despite asking for directions three times. The reason I couldn't find it was because I was on the other end of the building. I had to carry my luggage around the big puddles in front of the door. As a disabled person that made walking around the puddles difficult. There was NO VIEW! Breakfast between 6:30 and 8:30 was early for vacation (the hotel I stayed at the next day ran until 10). Staff blamed me for not being able to find the hot tub - I should have seen it when I walked to the office (I drove). Not a place you want to stay.
The staff was friendly and perfectional. The Hot and cold breakfast was a good thing. The room was nosy from other rooms and traffic we were one room from the main road. The rooms are outdated, and the beds were not comfortable at all. The rooms were clean. Even the TV remotes where the wrong ones for the TVs. Parking was not good, tight squeeze between cars and trucks.
One positive thing that I can share regarding this particular Best Western Hotel is that the staff were friendly. The room was really outdated and not very clean. The lighting in the bathroom was very dim which made it hard to put on makeup. The shower was very low flow which made it hard to rinse off. But the worse thing was the horrible smell in the room.
Hotel in a noisy location between two busy roads. Stuffy with poor ventilation. Walls thin and you can hear constant traffic. Our room smelled like smokers had used it. Old building and you can hear showers running and people moving next to you. Breakfast over at 8:30!! No sleeping in if you want it. Not much breakfast choice. Not especially clean. Beds comfortable. Pillows good. Walkable location to restaurants.
Our room was outdated. It was not very clean. We had 2 nights booked but we vacated early the next morning. It's a great location to get to.things to do in the area but the rooms are just not up to par.
This hotel is definitely one of the nicer options for the area. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and close to lots of amenities. Best Western has always had a reputation for being a high-end hotel, and I always feel good staying here. You don't have to worry about things when staying here, which is great. It allows us to have a much better time when we can stay somewhere like this. Will always prefer best western to any other chain hotel I can think of.
In town for a few days to visit relatives, we stayed here because they offer rooms that have a small kitchen. Their usual breakfast offering is reduced to brown bags for take away but in this COVID era, I prefer to cook my own. This hotel isn't the most modern but it seems well maintained and clean. Our room was spacious with two queen beds, a table/chairs for eating and a very usable kitchen set up. The cooking utensils/pans/plates, etc. were all fine if not a complete set. The toilet/shower is in a separate room next to the large dressing area/sink/long counter/closet with a thoughtful sliding door for privacy. There is a beautiful new health food/grocery store right next door where we purchased the food we needed. This room was upstairs and I didn't see an elevator. The wall heater worked well enough if a little loud. The hotel sits right between two roads so the traffic noise is hard to miss, although this is hardly NYC. The staff at reception were friendly and professional both at our arrival and departure.
Very clean and nice hotel. Breakfast was okay (only okay because of Covid) pool was perfect for the kids. The room was clean and maid service was spot on. I highly recommend. We stayed 4 nights and was very pleased.
If you can avoid this hotel, do it. For the high price I could stay at a Motel 6 two nights and still get a better room. The room was very small to boot. I find BestWestern to be generally excellent but this property is sub standard. It is in town and near everything.
There aren't a lot of hotels in Coos Bay so this is a decent option. The rooms are clean and have a microwave and frig. They have coffee in the lobby early and a sack breakfast that is ok. The best feature is the downtown location. You can walk to a number of good restaurants (Shark Bites, EZ Thai, Restaurant O or Little Italy) and next door is a Natural Grocery. The board walk is a nice morning stroll. This is an older but well kept hotel. It was quiet and comfortable. Front desk staff was competent. If you have time, visit the Botanical Gardens at Shore Acres State Park. It is about ten miles from downtown and a nice walk in any season.
Substandard BW location. Outdated and very dirty. The first room we were given had food on the floor from the prior guest. The second had a broken ac/heater, absolutely filthy carpet, so we wore our shoes the entire time and a shower that wouldn't shut off. Huge waste of water. WAY overpriced. Wouldn't stay again if it were free.
We used this hotel as a home base for exploring the Coos Bay area. Pros: clean, comfortable, convenient, friendly, safe neighborhood, everything works. Cons: dated interior, window box AC is noisy, Wi-Fi is slow. We would stay here again. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. Grocery is about a mile away.
Not impressed. Room was musty and dated. AC unit did not help. Breakfast consisted of a choice of breakfast sandwich but was not given any instructions on how long to heat in the microwave. Although it did include a bottled water, a SMALL juice box and an apple. The Red Lion a little to the north looked like it might have been nicer. Lots of highway noise as the BW sat inbetween 101 south and 101 North. My fried & I were traveling along the Oregon Coast hwy starting in Coos Bay. The place we stayed in Florence was a LOT nicer and $30 cheaper per night.
Over all experience was great. Very friendly staff, rooms were very clean, the lobby was very clean. Staff was very helpful. Check in person asked if I was enrolled in the Best Western reward program. I said no she explained it very well and asked if I would like to join to save even more every time I stay at a Best Western I said yes! When you see a Best Western you know your getting value for your money and cleanliness which very important in the times we live in. Would definitely recommend Best Western in Coos Bay Oregon.
Apon arrival we were giving a top floor room. Mind you I put on my reservation I had kids under 5. I did not felt comfortable with being on second floor with stairs. My three year old daughter could fit through the cracks and could have easily falling. Luckily I always supervise my children. The room did not have shampoo, conditioner and hand soap. The Kleenex box had only one tissue. Apon checking out the lady at the front desk ignore me the whole time. I stand there for five minutes and still did not acknowledge. She was too busy talking with an older gentleman who was checking in but was already done doing so. He just had a ton of questions. Which she could of said let me help the lady behind you or something but no. She straight up ignore me and I walked out without checking out!
The hotel was easy to find for out of state travelers. Our room was pristine which is saying a lot for my friend who is extremely picky about "clean" issues. The staff was courteous, respectful and efficient. A very pleasant experience. Will plan to return.
This hotel is more like a Motel the doors go outside not in a hallway. The employees at the front count the people in your car. The breakfast came in a bag, but it was clean and the view we had was amazing.
Just an ok motel. I'm sure there is better around there. Difficult to book room over the phone. Front desk was helpful but didn't offer anything being that I'm a gold member and have stayed there the past 8 years.
This felt like staying at a super 8 hotel. It was old and tired. The road noise from our room was super loud with all the trucks whizzing by all night. I would say you could skip staying in coos bay altogether, but especially, you can skip this hotel. The complimentary breakfast was an apple and half a granola bar, or a creepy breakfast sandwich. I wish we stayed at the motel 6!
My stay was great check in was fast, check out was also fast. Room was clean and super comfy. It is right across the street from the bay. Pool was even open. I will be staying there again when I am in town.
We chose this hotel because of the location, and it seemed to be as nice as any in town judging by the rates. It was absolutely the worst hotel we stayed at in years and we travel constantly. It was dirty nd in disrepair. It looked like they hadn't spent a dime in years. The food was terrible even though they will themselves as very high end. The toilet barely worked. The coffee pot was the cheapest I have ever seen. And to top it off management was particularly rude.
We stayed here and the carpet smells horrible. Rust in bathrooms. No laundry bags in room due to Covid. Are you kidding me??? No soap in shower. Very outdated!!! Looks like the worst Best Western we have stayed at so far.
I meticulously read reviews and look at photos before booking hotels, so I was shocked when we walked into our room at this hotel. The room was extremely dingy and felt very, very unclean. I don't mind dated-looking rooms, as long as it is clean and appears to be taken care of. This was not the case here. It was the most depressing room. Everything looked worn to the bone and gross. (The bed linens were ok, though.) Even worse, the pull-out sofa bed was absolutely terrible. The “mattress” was falling apart and had loose springs. My six year old slept on it and the mattress visibly sunk down in the middle where he lay. He told me the next morning he woke up a lot in the night because his back hurt. We stayed in a suite and only one room had an air conditioner, so the other room was very hot in the night (I can't imagine staying there in the summer!). I will say that the bed I slept on was comfortable enough and the hotel staff was kind. For the amount of money it cost to stay here, I expected much more. The photos make it look nicer than it was. The room was what I would expect an Econolodge or Motel 6. Due to COVID the included breakfast was a to-go bag with an apple, granola bar, water bottle, and frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich. I appreciate them offering something, but I wish I would have known that in advance. From now on I will only stay at Best Western Plus or any other chain—never again at a Best Western.
Room was very clean. Kind of bland but clean. If you're not planning on staying in the room the whole trip you'll be fine. There just isn't much going on in the rooms there. The beds are comfortable tho and I love the bed spreads.
Husband and I traveling first time with our two little dogs. Room was clean, the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. Due to location I was a bit concerned about traffic noise, but we heard nothing! Friendly staff. Clean grounds.
After a long night on the road, we had a startling and unwanted rude awakening at 9AM (check out is not until 11AM) when the hotel staff opened our door to enter our room. YIKES. We'd been planning to sleep until 10, but with a small child along, once we'd been awakened, falling back asleep was not possible. Hotel front desk was apologetic when I told them of the problem, but offered nothing to make up for it.
Rented two rooms, both were not very clean. Night staff was very friendly. Day guy/maybe owner was very rude and unfriendly. For the price paid it should have been cleaned better, but I will not be staying at this particular best western again. Best westerns in general are pretty nice.
Ive stayed at a lot of hotels and best Western will now be my #1 choice. Very satisfied with my stay. The staff was wonderful. Very friendly. They even offer later check out! The swimming pool was super clean. Absolutely no complaints.
Short New Year's weekend in Coos Bay OR. Best Western in town was close to dining and the boardwalk. Only a short drive to the coast. Weather was blustery and cold, but the crashing waves at the coast were majestic. Best Western was spit spot clean. Furnishings are a little dated, but staff are friendly and accommodating.
Very noisy! Thought the trailer trucks would come through door at any time. Room was clean but quite dated. Think I might try another place next time in town. Could have just been location of room because we needed handicapped accessible.
Great room and great service. Check in had a great conversation. I miss seeing faces and the breakfast buffet but I'm sure it'll come back soon. Room was spacious and comfortable, jacuzzi tub was a great addition. TV in the bedroom and plenty of windows.
The room decor was way out-dated, however the room was clean. The area is right in the heart of downtown, so as for the location being close to shops and restaurants, along with walks by the bay, this was very nice. However, the noise factor was a huge issue. The traffic went on all through the night. We had to turn on the air conditioner to block out the noise, of which wasn't working properly. The pool and hot tub was great, and open until 1000pm, which was nice. A bit pricey for the room itself, but shops, restaurants, and bay walks were great! The traffic noise was very irritating.
We pay $170 plus tax a night for older hotel. Internet can only connect to two guests in the room, carpet, couches very old looking. shower pressure is very low. For the price we paid I was dissapointed at the hotel, I could get a better room with the cheaper price at other hotel chains. Pool is heated and spa is nice
This place needs a major overhaul. Right now it's a "1970's old state highway motel" (you know the cheap ones our parents picked on family vacations) and should only cost about $60. It is not the updated, fresh, clean, and friendly hotel I am used to from Best Western. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, the A/C worked 50% of the time at best, the pool was inconvenient to access (I see why, but still inconvenient), and the staff wasn't great. Kind of acted like we were interrupting them. My daughter lost a stuff and we called a few days later. I was on hold for 20 minutes, called back, and was on hold at least another 10 before they finally could tell me it wasn't there. Not the place or service you think of when you think of Best Western.
We stayed at the Best Western Holiday Hotel in Coos Bay Oregon the night of July 12, 2020. We have been camping up the west coast for the past few days and wanted to stay somewhere nice after our hikes through Redwood National Park. We decided to pay the extra money and chose a motel with a good reputation—and a jacuzzi—so we could relax and also not worry about staying somewhere gross. After check in we got some dinner and got ready to use the spa—which was closed. There was only a sign on the spa door saying the pool was closed the night we happened to be staying there and the night after, which was unfortunate because nowhere at check in or on their website was this information given. When I addressed the hotel staff saying they should have that information available before check-in she kind of blew me off, even though we would have chosen a different hotel if we knew that was the case ahead of time. My boyfriend bought a couple of beers instead, and we went back to the room (which had a worn, stinky chair and definitely wasn't worth the $150 + we paid) to watch TV and try to make the best of our night. I was already pretty disappointed with our stay before we went to bed... but when we woke up we had another surprise—our biggest concern—A BEDBUG. I only noticed it because of the splotches of blood on the sheets and upon further investigation I found the squished bedbug! We both got up and took pictures and started going through our things. We very nicely told the hotel staff about it but they told us there was nothing we could do and we needed to go through Priceline since that is how we booked. They said they would try to call them anyway and we thanked them and left the motel to go wash our belongings at the laundromat. After contacting Priceline they called the hotel and the manager told them they did not have bedbugs although we showed the receptionist the pictures! Priceline said they couldn't give us a refund since the hotel denied us and said we would have to go through the hotel! We are very frustrated and won't be staying at a Best Western again after the terrible customer service and dirtiness (we flipped the mattress to look for more bugs and got a good look at how dirty things were in the room).
Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was in a good location and within walking distance to restaurants and natural food grocery store. The pool area was great for families. Staff was always very courteous, friendly ad helpful. Breakfast was just a grab and go type due to this COVID 19 time. It was the same breakfast items every morning so a little variation would have been nice. Overall, it was still a good and comfortable stay..
Outstanding customer service by all staff: friendly, positive, helpful. The rooms was very clean, as was the pool and spa. Safe and ample parking. Very quiet facility that is conveniently located to shopping and walking areas. I highly recommend this hotel and will return soon.
Staff was wonderful during our stay. Everything was good just wish the fitness and pool were open so that the kids could have some fun. Understand Covid-19 but kids still need to have some fun also. Hotel was nice and clean.
One of my longest places I've stayed at in a motel. I'm glad it was best western.. my home away from home.... I'm here for training for a new job for a management position. Was only to be a few weeks but trying times are here. Some it became months.. thanks again best western
We stayed here for 5 months and had a great stay. Joe and his team saw to our every need and made for a delightful stay, Anne and Brianna were the nicest front desk people we have encountered while on the road. Also, Kudos to Debbie, Linda, Amanda and Tyler: You guys are the best! The only downside we experienced was cooking on an outdated stove.
Perfectly good motel. Room was clean and had plenty of space. Showers had good hot water. Breakfast was nothing special. Nothing to complain about and wound stay here again. Also very conveniently located. Staff is very friendly. Nice that they have little mini bottles of wine you can buy.
I was disappointed from the start because our room was not what I was expecting. The photo online with the reservation had a couch in larger room. Room was musty and stinky. Carpet filthy and worn out. Rotten cheese in recycle bin & sticky hairs in nightstand. No water pressure. Loud traffic noise. Pool is too cold to swim leisurely.
This BW is so nice, Great location, easy to find, The girls at the front desk were so very helpful as we had never been to Coos Bay before. They gave us maps and told us of places to eat that were so good and great directions. The room was clean and very large and we even got a kitchenette which was wonderful. Breakfast was wonderful. Kept us going all day!!! Would come back againl
Best motel in Coos Bay. Great breakfast and very clean. Convenient location to downtown coos Bay and lots of restaurants. Good parking if you're pulling a trailer like I do. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
The staff at Best Western Holiday Hotel in Coos Bay, Oregon greeted me at once and allowed me to check in when I arrived at 1:15 p.m. ahead of the 3:00 p.m. time; she also gave me a choice of 1st or 2nd floor room, which I appreciated greatly. The room was immaculate, hot breakfast was delicious, fitness center was spotless, and the water was the right temp. for the relaxing indoor hot tub and the pool. I also like the later 12 noon check out time. This hotel is conveniently located. I definitely recommend this hotel!
I'm a simple person and free breakfast and a hot tub to soak in at night makes this a very awesome simple hotel. It's hard for me to determine value cuz my company paid for the room. But I'd always like to stay down there if I work down there in the future
Best Western rewards has become a scam. Tell you you have enough points for a free stay but when you check in Hotel advises "not for this hotel" Has happened last three attempted stays. Will be looking elsewhere.
I am a Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt member so I was worried before I booked the Best Western. Keep your expectations low because it is a motel but you will be surprised! It wasn't so bad for the value that you pay. Breakfast was great. There was a lot of choices but I believe it doesn't change daily. Also the food is in 2 separate places so if you don't know that you'll only eat bread and cereal. The rooms were fine. We had 278 which was 2 separate bedrooms for 6 people. It was spacious and dog friendly. The lobby was nice and clean. The pool was cold. The fitness center was a nice try but old and none of the machines really worked. The treadmill is dead. But overall I would come back again. It's the best choice in Coos Bay
Had a great experience staying at the Best Western. We went to Coos Bay to see the Shore Lights. This is a well cared for hotel the breakfast is great and better than other competing hotels. I would recommend it.
Very good location to activities in the area. Breakfast was very good a lot to choose from, the only drawback I see was the swimming pool was beautiful big but very cold. Overall I will always stay at Best Western in Coos Bay price value was great.
Booked a rewards night at this hotel, have stayed there before. it was a known entity to us, they have treated us very well in the past. Upon checking in we were upgraded to a king which was appreciated. Only down side is parking is ample but can be a little tight for large vehicles, but there is options close by. Overall we see it as the best place to stay in the Bay Area.
So my family of 5 + MIL got a 2 bedroom suite for a decent deal here, but I was very surprised and disappointed when we pulled up and saw it's actually a motel with the rooms/doors directly facing the parking lot. The room seems clean, although the bathroom seems to be a lot of the original pieces, prob from the 80's. The location however is great. Downtown is a block away and my elderly MIL was easily able to walk to dinner with us. While the place is not the worst by any means it's not what I feel comfortable in when away from my home.
Great location, close to everything we wanted to see in Coos Bay and surrounding areas. The room was bigger than expected, and had a good view of the Coos Bay Boardwalk. The breakfast selection is good, although they could use a bit more seating in the dinning area.
First time to travel the 101 along the Oregon Coastline. Awesome trip, great time of year to skip the crowds as well as enjoy wonderful weather. Miles of stunning beaches, some with majestic rocky outcrops, and others, pristine stretches of sand as far as the eye could see.
My wife and I stayed here with our daughter for her volleyball tournament and we were quite please. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and well kept. Out of the other 4 hotels I've stayed at in the Coosbay area I like this one the best. The only negative thing I can say is parking can get pretty crowded and competitive for spots near your room.
There was no noise, in spite of being between two highways. Every aspect of our visit was pleasant. The room was attractive. The bed was comfortable. The WiFi was excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly.
During my over all stay it was comfortable and had the amenities that would be great for family vacation had trouble finding a parking spot on my side of the hotel other than that the stay it's self was comfortable.
The hotel didn't look like anything particularly fancy when we pulled up, but the staff were very friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room. The rooms are nicely decorated, every thing was clean. Carpets are always a concern to me at hotels and these seemed very clean. The room was a little small, but not uncomfortable.
Very helpful front desk and house keeping staff; clean rooms; nice breakfast; generous military discount; good location; grocery store and restaurants within walking distance...would stay hear again thank you very much!
Nice older motel (a hotel where you park right outside your room) with indoor pool & hot tub, and hot breakfast that included scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, country-style potatoes, fruit, cottage cheese, yogurt, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, baked goodies, coffee, tea, milk & fruit juice. Our room was clean & comfortable, and the staff was friendly & accommodating. Because this property is located between the northbound & southbound lanes of highway 101, there was some occasional traffic noise. The Coos Bay Boardwalk & Downtown area are just a block or two away.
Nice place to stay. Clean, quit and well maintained. Spa and pool clean. Good hot breakfast. We'll come back for sure. Lots of stores around, and just seconds to walk to natural groceries. My family loved it
Clean, affordable rooms. Good breakfast, great downtown location. Our grandkids loved the indoor swimming pool! Convenient to walk to most downtown Coos Bay locations and waterfront. Ample parking is provided on site.
Nice hotel for the area. The rooms are great, especially the spa rooms. Nothing says relaxing in a spa tub before bed after a long day on the road. Indoor pool and spa was nice too. Breakfast was great and I like the options between 4 mini waffles or 1 large one.
This was my first trip to this property and while it is older, the facility was nice and appeared to have been updated. There are several restaurants and bars within walking distance. The property is directly across the street from the waterfront in Coos Bay.
The hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms were clean and well equipped, and the staff was very helpful in answering questions about local attractions. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of food.
Our stay here would have been a solid 4-star, but our particular room reeked of cigarette smoke, even though the door was marked as a non-smoking room. We had to keep the HVAC on pretty high to circulate enough air in the room to vent some of the odor. The hotel seemed pretty full, so we did not try to get a different room; which in retrospect was a mistake. The room was located in the northern corner of the north building, closest to Hwy 101, yet the traffic noise was surprisingly mild until you opened the door, at which point the noise and exhaust fumes from the road were strong. The lobby staff was polite and helpful and the common areas were clean and modern. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi looked pretty inviting, but we did not partake. The breakfast bar was a nice plus, like other Best Westerns, offering a variety of hot and cold entrees, including scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, bagels, toast, danishes, waffles, cereals, yogurt, fruits, juices, milk, & coffee. The price of our stay was reasonable and the location was within convenient walking distance to the downtown restaurant corridor and the farmer's market held Wednesdays on Central Avenue. We may stay here the next time we visit Coos Bay, but we'll definitely ask to switch rooms if we get another smokey one.
My husband and I enjoyed our 2 night stay. The room was very spacious and clean. It was in walking distance two both of the restaurants we ate dinner at which was convenient. My husband really enjoyed the breakfast both mornings. I liked that the room had two sinks, a microwave and & refrigerator.
It is a average property its close to some resturants and some stores. It sits across from the bay but it is between the one way roads. Never used the pool but it looked ok. The breakfast was typical for Best Western. We would stay there again
This is where I normally stay in Coos Bay. Good staff, rooms and breakfast. The refrigerators in the rooms have a strong tendency of freezing items not in the freezer compartment. High speed internet works well and you are close to everything in Coos Bay. Patrolled by security all night.
This hotel in in central Coos Bay and since we were leaving very early in the morning by bus, the car was left at home, we needed to be within walking distance of the bus station. The room was on the ground floor which is what we requested and they were very accommodating when we checked in a bit early and assigned us the requested room. The room itself was spacious with 2 queen size beds but the pillows could have been a little softer, they were very firm and it was hard to fall asleep on them. Also the spread that was on the bed was needed once we turned the heat off but it was a very unusual fabric and it got so warm that it became quite uncomfortable. We did leave before the official breakfast time but most of what they offer, cereal, juice, yogurt, toast was already available so we could have something to eat before we boarded the bus. It was a convenient place to stay and quiet even though it is between 2 major streets. My only quibble was with the linens.
We are visiting Coos Bay for a family event. We stayed here three nights. The room smells so bad, it was hard to sleep. It smells like a chemical. My sisters room was the same. Our family had 5 rooms booked here. We never had our room picked up! Not once. We complained to the front desk, it didn't seem to bother them. We had to ask for clean towels. The first day we were in and out of our room until 1 pm, but left by 1 and didn't return until after 9 pm. We were so surprised to find no room service. The second day we left at 10 am. We arrived back at 4 pm...no room service. My sister and cousins did not have any room service either.
Easy to locate, central to Coos Bay area, fun w/in walking distance, great staff. Clean, comfortable room. The breakfast had lots of nice options, was fresh, clean environment as well. I'd stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and quiet despite the proximity to the road. Appreciated the in room mini fridge. Breakfast had more and higher quality options than most of the Marriott's I stay in. Friendly staff.
This is an older property, well maintained, but the rooms are a bit small. Front office staff was courteous and professional. Check-in was easy, with free apples and local newspapers at the desk. Our room was around back, north from the main office, up a rather steep and narrow path to diagonal parking in front of the rooms. With the size of some vehicles, particularly in Oregon (read, pick-up trucks), the access can get a bit slim. Until it clears out in the morning, you may find yourself backing down a fair distance and crossing a sidewalk to the main street. It's not ideal, but since the hotel wasn't completely full when we stayed, it wasn't that bad. The room had a small fridge and microwave, along with a cup-at-a-time coffee maker. (Upgrade suggestion: The k-cup type brewers give guests the option of bringing their own favorite pods.) The room had a flat panel TV of adequate size, HBO was included. Wi-Fi was free, but a lot slower than we're used to. The shower had plenty of hot water and fairly good water pressure. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were small, but there were four of them. The stay was pleasant, the traffic noise wasn't that bad and the price was fair in view of what else is available in the Coos Bay-North Bend area.
A good hotel & would be great for a family. Older place but has been kept up graded. Room was nice size. Quiet (even sitting between 2 busy streets), clean, everything worked. Only draw back is parking lot which slopes every which way & is hard to walk. Staff was very helpful even having one offer to help with luggage when he saw us struggling with cart & luggage unloading. Breakfast was very good.
Really enjoyed this hotel. It had a nice room with plenty of space for our family and dog. Great breakfast, with many yummy options, and the dog walking area was very nice too. Staff was super friendly and helpful the whole stay.
There were multiple floors of rooms facing inward, probably 30-40 altogether, but were not enough parking spaces, so I had to park in the disabled spot (I am physically disabled) in front of the office and either choose to walk up an incline or 10-12 stairs to my room. I opt to leave ADA rooms generally for those who might desperately need them, but would choose one in the future here. The breakfast was really good, great mixture of hot and cold items, and my teenagers were happy too. The pool and spa, though indoor, were a bit on the chilly side. I slept great and the rooms were well equipped and smelled perfectly fine.
Nice clean motel room. Very good breakfast with eggs and waffles the kids loved. Location was central to everything in town with easy access and parking. Indoor pool and hot tub were a nice addition after a long day of driving.
Very conveniently located right on the main highway across from the Coos Bay Boardwalk and within walking distance of most of what you'll be interested in in town. Our room was very spacious, clean, and quiet. LOVED the easy-to-use Clean Remote control for the TV - it's supposed to be easily cleanable (hygienic), but the simple layout made using an unfamiliar TV a breeze. The complimentary breakfast had the usual waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, etc. Lots of smaller and communal longer tables to eat at. There is an organic supermarket right next door if you need to stock up on picnic supplies or other sundries (probably not the cheapest option, but definitely the most convenient). Mail box right in front of the property should you want to pop a postcard in the mail.
Great place to stay. Friendly service. Clean and quiet rooms nice pool and spa. Great breakfast offerings. I have stayed here multiple times and have Alway been pleased with the accommodations and service.
I am very disappointed in the rewards recognition from this hotel. It is perplexing as this is just an average hotel, you would think they would want their rewards members coming back. The hotel set between two main street so the traffic noise is more than usual. Other than that the rooms are clean.
From cleanliness to friendliness, my stay was very pleasant. The rooms are well appointed. Shower heads are nice, as are the beds. The pillows were a bit small and awkward, but the beds were comfy and the AC worked well.
Spent a night here for an out of town medical procedure. It was a comfortable night. The rooms were nice and the beds good. My favorite part was the hot breakfast. Loved the bacon and all the extras that came with it.
Best Western Holiday hotel is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. I think it is the best hotel to stay at in Coos Bay. it has a very nice breakfast that includes eggs, pastries and more. the staff is very helpful and will do whatever they can for you.
I always have a positive experience when I stay at the Best Western in Coos Bay. Awesome, attentive staff and outstanding clean rooms! I have easily stayed there 15 times over the last couple of years. I especially appreciate that they have dog friendly rooms. The remodeled rooms are especially pleasant.
Not as updated as other Best Westerns we've visited. Pool area was nice, breakfast area little crowded, leaky faucet in room. There aren't many hotels in the area so there's not much competition. Friendly staff.
very pleasant stff and very accomodating. Clean room and comfortable bed. nice breakfast. We would reccomend this hotel. We were fortunate we got a room on the weekend without previos booking as we wrer traveling the Coast highway and really did not know where we would end up.Very good choice. My husband and myself prefer to stay with the Best Western Chain.
I was tired at the end of the day, and after enjoying the hot tub & pool, I landed on the bed and didnt want to get up -- so comfortable, it wrapped itself around me! I had to tell myself to get up & get out to dinner. I will definitely stay here again.
This hotel is situated between Highway 101 N and Highway 101 S. Both roads have major road noise all night long. While the location is very good from a convenience point of view, and they do have a great breakfast, we did not get a good night's sleep. The curtains did not screen out very bright light from the parking lot (room 245), so between that and the road noise, we will not stay here again.
We stayed here after driving from Florence and touring the coastal area and nearby Charleston. We enjoyed our stay on the second floor inside hallway room which I recommend. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It was a fairly quiet place. The fitness centre was OK. The breakfast was fine except there was no Gluten free bread. Great place for a one night stay.
Best area hotel - very friendly, helpful staff - breakfast is standard BW with coffee, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, and other items, nice, clean rooms with fridge and microwave, great location easy walk to several restaurants and the down town shops, a new Natural Grocers store about 2 minute walk from hotel.
I have stayed here before. It is right on the water, so an evening stroll is very nice. There are several independent restaurants close by, but my favorite is a little floating restaurant right across the street on the water. The best fish and chips I've ever had.
Beds are great for a good night rest. Hotel sits between Highway one side north bound the other side is south bound. Lots of logging trucks , I'm a light sleeper. Room is clean and nice flat screen. There is a constant amount of cars that cut through the parking lot for a short cut to the north bound lane so be careful walking across parking lot to pool and breakfast.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Holiday Motel in Coos Bay. The staff was accommodating, the public spaces were pleasant, our room was nice (it was very clean, the lighting was good, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked), and the breakfast provided was quite good. Potential guests should be aware, however, that this property is located between two busy streets, and the traffic noise might be disturbing to light sleepers.
Well staying at the Best Western Holiday Inn Coos Bay Oregon the staff was extremely helpful upon check-in friendly service clean nice upgrades.Great location in the center of town close to everything right off of 101 Highway 101 that is...
I've been in the areas several times, but this was the first staying at the Best Western. I was worried about the road noise since we had a room at the end, but the installation was really good as we didn't hear any road noise unless we opened the window it door. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We slept through the breakfast, all I can't speak to it's quality io offerings.
A good place for a one night stop over while travelling. Friendly, clean and comfortable. A tad pricy for the product, but fitted our needs. Located on the 101 so convenient in that regard. Recommend it for weary travellers.
We went to the area for the Christmas holiday to spend time with family. We were very impressed with the staff of this hotel and all of the amenities and breakfast offerings. If we return we will chose to stay here again.
Doing business in Coos Bay, this place was ideally located and the service of the staff was excellent. The complementary breakfast was way better than expected. There's an indoor swimming pool, which was a pleasant surprise.
Front desk employees were great! Room was clean as usual. Will stay here for sure again when in the area. It can be noisy if you get an end room, but it's worth it. Didnt make it for breakfast, hours were odd.
The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean with a fresh smell! Very pleased with my stay! The location was close to the boardwalk and easy accessibility to restaurants, gas, ocean and all within walking distance.
Always a pleasure to stay here. I have stayed here many times for work. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's really great to arrive at the desk and have the staff greet you by name. Plus this hotel is well sited for ease of access to restaurants.
This is the location I always try to stay in Coos Bay. No surprises. Motel has gotten much more quiet since the addition of another business behind it. Staff is always nice and they have security at night as well.
I usually don't stay in motor lodges, but was on a business event, this is the motel that we were booked into. Aside from the obvious car noise right out your door, it was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions around town.
Room was nice and clean. Needs usb access in the room. Interesting layout. Be sure to mention if you have limited mobility. Excellent, friendly staff, easy check-in and out. Would stay there again when in the area.
Spent one night here. Didn't have a reservation but it was easy to get a room. Desk clerk was nice and professional. Easy check in. Room seems kind of small but has small table with 2 chairs, desk with chair, queen bed, fridge, microwave and single serve coffee. Internet connection was easy. Clean and comfortable room for a one night stay. Right on Hwy 101 so you hear every car that drives by. Fitness room had treadmill, recumbent bike, elliptical, weight machine. Pool seemed nice though very strong chlorine smell. Big breakfast with hot and cold choices and nice seating area. Seemed expensive for the area but there are not many hotel choices, and this is probably the nicest one.
Room was not that clean.Check under bed.Older motel with more modern renovation.Breakfast was good but pulled asap.Expensive for what is offered.I stayed there in a pinch but would stay down the road.Coos Bay is nothing special.
We ended up here after an ill-fated attempt to stay at Quality Inn, which was an absolute no go. The staff here were very accommodating and did the best they could to find a quieter room for us in a very busy area. The two women at the front desk were right, though, telling us that after 6 PM the traffic quiets down. The breakfast in the morning was fine - eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, decent coffee - all the things you have come to expect from a Best Western chain. Overall the property was clean and well maintained and EVERY staffer we ran into was friendly and welcoming. Rooms - clean. Bathrooms - clean. Breakfast area - clean.
First time visit to this location, very friendly greeting and knowledgeable staff. Room was clean with microwave and refrigerator. Good choices for the included breakfast. A good local craft beer selection available in the lobby for a small fee.
Never stayed at a Best Western before and wasn't sure what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised. Staff was friendly, room was larger than most other chains, breakfast was quite good, bed was comfy, location was great. We would stay at a Best Western again, particularly this one.
This hotel was clean, the service friendly and the price was right. I loved the environmental note in the room about fresh towels and linens! The breakfast buffet, however, did not have the same environmental focus. Food was served on reusable dishes, which was lovely. Yet, ONLY single use disposables were provided to the guests to use. And not just any single use – Styrofoam. In addition to being landfill bound, Styrofoam becomes an endocrine disruptor when exposed to heat. This is not healthy… and can be dangerous to those who have a disease impacted by testosterone or estrogen. Since they have a dishwasher, it would be great if they could switch to reusable plates and utensils. It would cost less in the long run and be better for both the environment and the health of their customers.
What I have come to expect from this hotel chain. Clean comfortable rooms, great staff, and above average hotel breakfast. My only complaint is parking is tight for any vehicle beside a compact. I had to park my Dodge truck in the far south lot for comfortable parking. But as far as the rooms goes you really couldn't get much better!!
Our family enjoyed staying at this Best Western. Good breakfast and nice indoor pool. It's in a great location for downtown restaursnts and attractions, and only a 20 min drive to the amazing state parks on the ocean.
We stayed here on 8/21/18. This is the old style BW (two stories, rooms open to parking lot, no elevator). We were in room 214. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but functional. Breakfast was from 6:30 to 9:30 am and the food was typical of a BW breakfast. The staff was friendly and efficient. There is plenty of parking overall but it may not be in front of your room. The motel is within walking distance of several restaurants (we tried Shark Bites) and in the downtown area which looks a little sketchy. We thought the room was expensive ($160/night) for what we got. Note: Room 214 has a handicap parking space in front of it, so only take the room if you have a handicap parking sticker.
We had room 223 which is on the first floor so we were able to park right outside which making unloading/loading the vehicle easy. Front desk staff were excellent and gave us a sheet with directions to a number of restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was typical BW fare. One word of warning about this hotel -- the hotel is set between two busy streets and if you're a light sleeper (which we are not) the traffic may disturb you.
This hotel sits between two one-way streets that are the highway. Our room was on the end and right by the road. It was loud. The room was old. It did not feel safe to us. Our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator. We would never stay here again. The breakfast was average for a hotel breakfast
It was ok. Made me think of the 50s motels. My room was on first floor and opened into the parking lot, which felt a little unsafe. No back exit from the room. Breakfast was good and staff pleasant. Clean.
This was a last minute trip that we booked only one day in advance. It difficult to find comfortable accommodations for 5 people in one room but the suite we got here was exactly what we needed. It was seperated into two rooms with a TV in each, two queen beds, and a queen sofabed. Everyone had ample space to sleep. The room was even big enough for the 3 kids to play around. The free breakfast was great. Waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, tortillas, bread, muffins, bagels, Danish, granola, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice, tea, cocoa, hot cider, coffee... there's no reason your whole family wouldn't be satisfied with breakfast here. The pool and hot tub were great. Best of all was the location. We were within literal minutes of restaurants, shops, museums, and across the street from the boardwalk where boats dock. I mean, we could see it from our room. In terms of location, this place cannot be beat (it should be noted that we all hate the beach so the fact that this place is about 10 minutes from an actual beach was a plus for us). If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will book here.
Great place to stay for both kids and adults. Very clean and an excellent breakfast! The pool was clean and bright with towels stocked. We were able to walk right to the waterfront after dinner and experience the beauty of Coos Bay.
This is the best motel we've stayed in this year. The grounds are beautifully well-kept, the rooms are modern, clean, & very comfortable. But the outstanding thing is the level of customer service provided by the staff. Janelle was our gal behind the front desk. She, and the rest of her crew are customer care specialists. Every employee we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Janelle was a wealth of information on where to go, and what to eat. A special “Thank you” to the management of the Best Western Holiday, Coos Bay.
This is a dark, smelly, outdated 60's motel situated between two halves of a noisy highway (US 101). This kind of motel is the reason I originally stopped staying at Best Western. Shame on me for believing the advertising about the "new" Best Western!
We stayed here three nights on our way back from driving up the Oregon Coast with 3 of our kids, 2 teenage boys & a toddler. Overall it was comfortable and in a convenient area, there are many restaurants you can easily walk to. I liked that they were pet friendly, a hot breakfast was included daily and they had a pool and jacuzzi. The beds were comfortable,(two queens) however the sofa bed in our room was not, it had seen better days and really needed to be replaced, it squeaked every time my son moved while in it and was a bit torn up. He ended up pulling out the mattress onto the floor and sleeping there instead. Overall a great stay except for the sofa bed :) We did stay in another Best Western after this in a family suite, definitely go for one of those rooms if they offer one!!
Barely adequate tired hotel situated between two roads. Very dark room. Lights worked, but the room just needs more of them. No room to sit at breakfast, so had to sit on a couch between the breakfast room and the lounge. Only one night there, so saw no reason to complain. The management, to their credit, responded by email after we had returned home and completed the survey.
After rescheduling part of our vacation due to the wildfires in California, we back-tracked up 101 and spent two nights in Coos Bay before continuing north. The BW in Coos Bay was a good option for our family, and despite a family member being sick for most of a day (unrelated to anything at the hotel), we had a good stay. The staff was efficient and helpful, and the room typical of Best Westerns (this was our third BW on this particular trip). We did use the pool and spa while we washed some clothes. A minor quibble with he laundry: it took two cycles through the dryer on high to get our clothes dry, and between the machines and soap/dryer sheets spent close to $9--at our last hotel the supplies were provided free of charge. Would be a nice change to see BW adopt that policy. Breakfast was typical of Best Westerns, but due to the room layout, the hot dishes were in a different room and not readily obvious from the cereal/toast/coffee area. A sign would ensure people know there was additional options. As always, it would be nice to see BW adopt a more environmentally-friendly policy with regards to breakfast: everything consumed at breakfast, from the cutlery, dishes, packets, cups, are disposable, and go into the trash--compostable materials would be a good step up, and real dishes that can be re-used an even better option. This would entail additional cost and facilities, but would show a better commitment to policies more friendly to the environment. Our room, a double queen, was fine, again standard for other BWs we've been at recently. Sleep quality was good, despite the presence of the hotel between the north and south-bound lanes of highway 101. We'd stay there again.
This was a little disappointing after the previous nights stay at a Best Western Plus hotel. We arrived to see this place looked like a motel. The front desk lady ( Janelle?) was super short and a bit rude on the phone. Check in was fast but when we walked to our room it was completely motel like feeling. The room was small but not dirty, just was meh. Break fast was decent with eggs and sausages and potatoes and other stuff. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool but other families did. It was a bit expensive for the money and expectations were for a great hotel. We had to call for maintenance because the fridge wasn't working and just as the guy who smelled heavily of smoke and something else told us he will bring a fridge from the shop to replace it, thankfully the fridge started working again....because at 10 pm, i was in no mood to wait for a fridge being lugged in when kids were tired and sleepy but we needed to stash away meds in the fridge. i don't think i would return here for this price.
From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and had an a.c. This was an unexpected item seeing it is on the Oregon coast. The location is great with downtown within walking distance. The river walk was right across the street. Wish we could have spent longer but time constraints prevented it. Their breakfast is great and there was a huge selection and plenty of it.
if you're in Coos bay, I can very highly recommend the Best Western. Comfortable, clean, well kept, quiet, a great free breakfast, and a fitness center. Check in and check out was fast, efficient, and friendly. Best Western is the right place to stay!
We travel by motorcycle and the staff was very welcoming to us. Parking was easy and made the rooms more accessible as we were able to park the bikes in front of the rooms. Good breakfast. Good overall experience.
We stayed here for one night on our trip along the Oregon Coast. It was clean and we were able to drive right up to the door. A bit outdated and the breakfast seemed to start late. We were too early to get it, I guess. Our room did have a tub in it. Lots don't anymore and sometimes I want one!
We were using rewards points so I was a little worried that we wouldn't get the room type we had requested. (I've been burned by other hotel lines reward rooms). I am pleased to say we received a king room on the 2nd floor just as requested. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was super comfy and had the plethora of pillows my husband loves. The check in process was fast and the staff friendly and helpful. We were given a list of restaurants in the area listed by walking/non walking distance and were assured by the staff that these were places they RECOMMENDED, not just everything in the area. We used this as a guide and had a wonderful dinner at 7 Devils Brewhouse, a place we highly recommend. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
A good stay in this hotel in the middle of Coos Bay. Room was spacious. Everyting seemed a bit crowded, like the pool and breakfast room in the morning. The approach to sustainability for breakfast with single use paper disks and cups and plastic cutlery is though rather disturbing for a European traveler.
Staff at this property are terrific. Very courteous and accommodating. The location is central to beaches, casinos and great dining. Rooms are quiet and comfortable and all was in good working order. Will return again.
We took a road trip down the south Oregon coast starting in Lincoln City. Decided to stay at Best Western in Coos Bay as central location. Property is a little off the ocean, but convenient off Hwy. 101. Very nice, clean room, friendly staff and free breakfast! It was a great location to start our great road trip!
Had an extended Coos Bay everything was fabulous staff was awesome I recommend it highly data for breakfast in the morning which is really good swimming pool jacuzzi right in the center very local to restaurants Casino what a great place to stay very clean rooms very nice
We are in the middle of a PNW coastal trip and this was an overnight stay. We arrived slightly before 3 and had a “king jacuzzi suite”. The only thing I can compare it to is the honeymoon suites at the motels near Niagara Falls. Our 12 year thought is was spectacular to have that in the bedroom...The room was large and clean and had a living room with couch and two chairs and table, bathroom, small frig and microwave and the bedroom has a king size bed with a tiled jacuzzi for one. There are doors that close, two air conditioners (which we have run into problems where there is only one unit in much higher end places and you have an air flow problem closing doors). Our 12 year old immediately used the indoor pool, which is larger than many and goes to six feet. There is a hot tub Inside also. Clean and in good shape, with small work out room. Our room was on the south side of the building. We ran both air conditioners all night, but never heard a peep from traffic or other guests. The hotel was also sold out or almost sold out. Easy walk to “downtown”, which is a sad place. Word of warning, there is hardly anything open on Sunday and the choices are very, very limited. It would be such a cute downtown, but I would say 75% is vacant. There is a redevelopment office in downtown, but I don't know what they are doing. You have never seen so many yarn and sewing stores either. There is a tiny “boardwalk” that has a “pirate” ship that does cruises, even on Sunday! We wound up driving south to this small fish and chips place and getting it to go. Back to the hotel, our room was dated , but clean and the bed was comfortable. The bath/shower had some chipping, but was well cleaned. Our daughter was going to sleep on the pullout, but she is tall and since we were driving, we have a very nice air mattress we brought with us and there was plenty of room in the living room. There were no extra pillows in the room, for the pullout, and my husband went down and they had none left. We gave her a pillow from our bed and we rolled a blanket up for the other side. It was fine, but ask for bedding extras early if you need it. Brekky was good and well plenished and replenished. Eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, tortillas, muffins, bread and bagels, oatmeal, cottage cheese, peaches, hard boiled eggs, apple and orange juice, apple juice, coffee, three kinds of cereal, milk and waffles. Almost anyone can find something! They also sell water, beer and a couple of split bottles of wine in the lobby. We won't be doing another endless road trip for a long time, but this was a good break between Portland and Eureka, CA. about at the half way point. Avoid staying Sunday if you want something besides pizza or McDonalds!
When I made our reservation, I specifically requested an "upstairs room, facing inward, middle center of block" as I'm a very light sleeper and that includes using earplugs. Ended up with an upstairs room at the end of the block, near Bayshore Drive facing outwards. Just to let you know, the traffic noise on Bayshore Drive quiets down around midnight as it was about an hour after that before I was able to go to sleep. Other than that, the room was clean, the breakfast had a good selection, the Front Desk staff was friendly, the location was good for our activities.
This isn't one of the fancy Best Westerns, but don't hold that against it. We enjoyed our stay quite a bit. It's just a block from the 'downtown' area with some nice food options. The room was clean and had a nice layout. We stayed in a suite that had a separate bedroom. The bathroom is in the front room which is always my preference - that way someone can stay asleep in the bedroom while others are up in the other room. The furnishings were nice and they had heavy drapes for a nice dark nights sleep. The shower was solid and our room included a jacuzzi tub. Parking was a breeze and all rooms have exterior access - nice if you can get the first floor. Breakfast was solid and service was friendly all the way around. They also have a huge indoor pool which is a nice perk. But a gym without air conditioning and fairly ancient equipment. It's right on the 101 and there is a gas station just up the street. Would definitely stay again.
I stay at this Hotel often for work. The amenities are good and the staff helpful and cheerful. I've spent at least 12 nights here in the past year and have been very satisfied with each stay. Our company uses this hotel after bad experiences with a so-called "Super" hotel up the road. Have become a Best Western Rewards member and enjoying the perks that go along with it.
My husband and I spent the weekend at this hotel and were pleased with the overall cleanliness, pricing and location. The hiway that runs adjacent to the hotel is busy and traffic is noisy. But, it is convenient to the City Dock/Boardwalk and minutes from area restaurants, beaches and state park facilities. The upper level rooms have access via a ramp, which worked out very well for us. The breakfast is standard fare...hot items include scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes. Nothing special or outstanding here but it will pass. I have definitely had worse!
We were spending 1 night in Coos Bay and needed a great place to stay. I chose the Best Western Holiday Hotel. We were not disappointed. The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. The room was large and comfy, even the beds were comfy. The swimming pool was perfect for the kids to unwind after a 6 hour drive. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choices for everyone. We will surely be staying here again.
Booked this hotel in advance and we were looking forward to a nice stay. Although the room was barely okay, ( broken patio door lock) the general appearance of the facility is poor. The filthy carpets in the corridors need to be replaced or cleaned, shower curtains replaced, breakfast room windows washed and glass ceiling cleaned. Parts of the exterior are in very poor condition as well! The pool was filthy, I couldn't believe children were in it. Rooms have nice views, but that's the only highlight of this accommodation in disrepair! I expected more from Best Western! Wouldn't return!
The hotel is situated between the main roads going through town. There is a lot of road noise but it wasn't too bad at night. The hotel is older and most of the rooms have an outside entry. Most of the rooms are not handicap accessible and the driveway is sloped. The price seemed really high for the quality of the room. The people were really helpful and nice. Downtown is a block away and there are restaurants within walking distance. There is also a water front area where you can walk.
We were not impressed with this place. It is old and has no elevators. We told the desk personnel that we had issues with balance and that taking luggage up the stairs was going to be difficult. The only suggestion they had was a room that was at the top of a steep ramp because they had no ground level rooms available even though when we checked in their were very few cars in the lot. The walls are very thin so the noise from outside comes in whenever someone walks by as well as traffic noises. The breakfast was average.
Best Western holiday hotel is your basic two-story motel style hotel. It is located directly off the 101 northbound and across from the waterfront. It is a short walk into the historic downtown which has restaurants and shopping. The hotel serves a decent continental style breakfast plus some hot dishes like scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes. The hotel has an indoor swimming. We stayed in room 273 which has two queen size beds, a small refrigerator, and small microwave. It has a divided bathroom with the sink separate from the tub-shower/toilet area. Bottom line, though nothing special, I would stay here again
We stayed 1 night out of 14 on our Pacific Coast Bike Trip with friends. This hotel was a last minute selection on a rainy and chilly day. The hotel does not have much curb appeal and the common areas are a bit outdated and hallways dark. Check in was very easy, the front desk was very nice. They allowed us to park our Harley's underneath an awning and out of the rain. They had 24 hr security which was comforting. They offer soft drinks, water and beer for purchase in the lobby. Beer was by far the better deal with water costing more. Our rooms were clean but a bit dark. The linens were soft and clean. The bed and pillows very comfortable.
An older style motel that was clean and tidy and comfortable , could do with updating. The pool and hot tub were really nice , the gym although was a bit dire with no air conditioning and very basic , and no chilled water .
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. The only complaint I would have had was my room was on the end by the busy street and I could hear the traffic noise at times.
We had a wonderful stay here, we had great recommendations where to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice but the carpet in our room needed a little more cleaning but that was the only thing we could see wrong. The breakfast was excellent as well as the breakfast staff. Great place to spend the night.
Just a one night stay, but a lovely one with a clean room, spacious closet, appealing lobby, quiet surroundings. Cleaning staff was very friendly as we excited our room so as not to disturb if we were returning.
We stopped here for one night whilst on our way to Crater Lake. We didn't make use of any of the facilities like the pool etc so can't comment on them. Check in seemed to take a while but I've noticed most Best Westerns are similar. We were given room 271 which was in the middle of the Hotel on the ground floor, so it was easy to pull almost up to the front door with the car to load and unload. We noticed a lot of people struggling up and down stairs from the 1st floor with cases, I'm not sure that there was an elevator. The Hotel is located only a short walk from the boardwalk area, and only 5 minutes walk from several restaurants, bars and shops. A free breakfast is served from 6.30am, though when we arrived a little early at about 6.15am, we found a tour bus group had taken all the seats and most of the food. Everything was soon stocked back up by the friendly and attentive staff and 15 minutes later we were sat down tucking into a full breakfast of hot and cold goodies.
Perfect location for walking downtown, the bay area, and is secure. We have never been to Food Bay before so this was new to us. The hotel is literally one block from downtown. Although there were several empty storefronts, the downtown still had plenty to do if you like antinquing, boutiques, shopping, and eating. There are a couple pet friendly restaurants for well behaved dogs. The bay is across the street. Brandon, Florence, and Charleston are a short drive away offering additional fun things to do. Umpqua Lighthouse also a short drive. Security is present at the hotel, free hot breakfast standard like most, and just beautiful views. Natural Grocers is next door. Only thing unexpected was the amount of homeless in the area, though not acosting.
Modest, but well maintained in every aspect, and decor and landscaping added to enjoyment. Hotel sandwiched between 101 north and south, but it didn't feel uncomfortable. Across from the river so it was easy to have an interesting, historical walk.
We had stayed in another BW the night before and this was a step up. Indoor pool, extensive parking, decent ceramics in the bathroom. Good bed and pillows. Quiet. The breakfast was slightly above the typical us norms. Still plastic cutlery but better choice. Comfortable and recommended.
The rooms are always clean and you can count on getting sleep. It's easy to find. The hot breakfast is among the best. The staff was effective. If you go hiking or riding the dunes--you can get cleaned up to the point of feeling civilized again.
I was pleased to find a salt pool at the Best Western in Coos Bay. This is a special treat. The hotel was conveniently located and helped make our weekend getaway a success! The wonderful hot breakfast got our day off to a good start.
Stayed in Coos Bay for a school track meet. Hotel was wonderful . Quiet, clean and well maintained. Easy check in and checkout. Had to call for a late arrival and had no problems. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will stay again.
I always search for this Best Western when I am visiting my son in Coos Bay. I think the prices are very reasonable. The location is perfect. Located in the downtown and an easy walk to restaurants. They have a pool, fitness room and goodies(snacks, beverages etc) by the registration desk. Breakfast in the morning has many options. Staff does very well in keeping it stocked. I haven't been disappointed with this BW in Coos Bay.
In middle of downtown Coos Bay. Entrance on either side 101. AT DOOR parking (like within 3 feet), good hot brkfst (eggs, potatoes, sausage, muffins, danish, orange j, coffee, etc.) Nice staff. Pool (not used), bay on the east side so mostly quiet except for TRAIN that runs thru around 8am and sounds like its coming into your room (I actually liked that, it was fun), large room, small bath, many counter spaces (tables), nice tv, comfy beds, clean, fridge, micro, adequate lighting, but room is dark (window faces parking lot), old carpets need replacing, soft chairs, ante room for clothes, ironing board, iron, soaps, tub & toilet in small bath, TWO tp holders (nice touch), walking distance to all of downtown, pretty much. breakfast room, wi-fi free (not used), so, for amenities an A, for staff A, the only grievance I have is the darkness and the old carpet, you could fix the carpet, but the design of the building keeps the rooms dark-which is cozy but I like lots of light (I read), if you are a sleeper type it is perfect. B+ with potential for A
Stayed for the night in a family room... nice setup... and very clean inside. The in house breakfast was not good though...gi out for your break. It was very tasteless. It's a a great place for a couple of nights...minute from downtown.
Place was clean and cozy. The bed was clean . It too needed a coat of paint for sure . It looked like it had seen better days. But due to the fact that it was the last hotel my husband was willing to look it it had to do
Was a real pleasure to find this place ,, Grandkids required a pool.. and this one was very clean and well maintained,, Good breakfast bar,, Quick and easy check in and clean rooms made this a pleasant stay for us all,,
The grounds were nice, pool, across the street from the ocean - no view. I just can't get passed the fact that there was a dirty plastic cup from the previous occupants right next to the bed. I didn't have a Starbucks, so I really was disappointed. I should've said something to the front desk. I didn't want to appear that I wanted money back. I feel that a chain like this should have been more diligent. Disappointed. Unfortunately, I won't be back. First impressions are important. :(
I like BW's, and reserved this one, to find that it was just a bit dated on the exterior, but updated within. Staff friendly, breakfast solid, though lacked non dairy options, Was noisier than I'd like, but placed between two sides of 101, hard to think it would be quiet.
The lady at the desk very nice and helpfully. Even recomeneded an awesome place to eat. They put people with pets in the same area which was nice so you weren't worried if your dog accidently barked. Great area to walk pets. Nice rooms, nice breakfast and great location.
Very nice room in the heart of Coos Bay, walking distance to most places of interest. Great, mesmerizing shower head! Lovely room with microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot. Nice desk and sitting area. We would definitely stay there again and bring our swimsuits because they have a lovely indoor pool and hot tub too!
We were on a winter road trip down the Oregon coast and Coos bay was an opportune layover. This hotel is right in town so it is close to stores and restaurants (the Blue Heron, reviewed elsewhere). The location is kind of unusual, sandwiched between two main thoroughfares, so there was a concern that it might be noisy. We got a two room suite that overlooked one of these roads and there was a little bit of noise but nothing that disturbed our sleep. It was room 278. Clean, comfy, typical Best West standard. Highly Recommended.
I was here a few months ago, and with another trip into Coos Bay I decided to stay again. The hotel remains basic but decent enough. However, there is now a construction site directly adjacent to the hotel. My room faced that site. The parking area was partially blocked off by construction vehicles and activity. Upon arrival, the workers were jackhammering pavement almost right outside the room. The noise continued until 5 PM, at which point I left to go somewhere until they finally went away. The next morning the construction horn sounded somewhere around 6:30 AM, and then pavement work resumed at 7. How delightful. Since the AC/heater unit has no fan-only option, it turns off as soon as it reaches the set temperature. Thus, it does not work as a white noise option to help cancel that out. Desk employees were just sort of meh and seemed to want to get rid of you ASAP, though I'm less concerned about that. Supposedly they're building a Natural Grocers, so once that's done I'm sure it'll be very convenient. The back of the building will face the hotel, so the parking lot and loading docks don't appear to face the rooms, thereby minimizing noise (once it's finished). But until construction ends, you'll want to stay somewhere else.
Breakfast was very good. Very friendly staff; everyone, even cleaning staff in other sections of the hotel, made it a point to say "hello". Stayed here in March 2017. I would stay here again. Nothing fancy, but comfortable.
I reserved this hotel and then my trip was cancelled. I cancelled the reservation via Expedia 1.5 weeks prior. My credit card was charged, so I followed up with Expedia. Somehow my cancellation did not go through on their end. They appealed to the hotel to refund my reservation or at least a portion of it as I did not use the room. They refused to do anything after 10 minutes to discussion. For my rescheduled trip, definitely not using this place.
This property seems locked in the 90s. Electrics for charging and USB were nonexistent. Furniture was dated. Stuffing a table, a floor lamp and a lounge chair in the corner of the room was poorly planned. Lightning between beds was inadequate. It makes me laugh that the apologetic managerial response to this review appears to have been cut and paste from previous negative reviews. They must get an awful lot of poor reviews to take this lackadaisical response.
On a short visit my room was clean and comfortable, but the staff was the best — Janelle went beyond all expectations by getting me work supplies I needed, and others were friendly and helpful! Convenient walking distance to many restaurants and shops too.
I stay here at least a couple times per month for work. The rooms are clean and the internet is consistent. The breakfast has a pretty good offering here that includes scrambled egg and sausage links.
We stayed one night and planned to see some of Coos Bay while we were there. It rained all evening so we stayed in. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. We will try this hotel again when we go back to visit family in Coquille, Oregon.
Right in the middle of town. Walk to everything. Located between two busy streets yet amazingly quiet! Clean rooms, Good picture on flat screen TV. Indoor pool. Full self serve breakfast. Pet friendly! Very dated but was perfect for a one night stay. Very friendly staff! They gave us a map and parking coupon to Shore Acres Light show close by! Excellent Christmas light show!
The staff at the registration desk is extremely helpful, very welcoming and professional. The breakfast is very good, liked that there was an egg white omelet option, with healthier turkey sausage (some less guilt in eating these 2). Breakfast options were varied and there's something for everyone's taste/diet. The facilities are clean and the room was spacious and clean and quiet.
Very nice place to stay. We would recommend it to anyone who was going to spend time I Coos Bay. Service was great. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of foods from which to choose.
Our room was comfortable, clean and attractive, the internet connection adequate. Even though it was a holiday weekend all the staff were friendly, cheerful, courteous and helpful beyond what we would even normally expect. We were provided with a restaurant list with descriptions and contact info, which the woman at the front desk updated for Christmas eve. Wow. The location is near the center of town, walking distance to restaurants, the river and tourist info. We were in town to see the lights at Shore Acres and the migrating whales. A totally satisfying experience.
We enjoyed our stay here and had no complaints. The staff was helpful and friendly. The facility was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable, and we were very happy with the quality and quantity of food offered at breakfast. I recommend this motel and would definitely stay there again.
The staff there made me feel like family. They went above and beyond to try to accommodate all of our needs (traveling with kids). I would definitely stay there again. The room was clean and everything was jus perfect. The value was also great. I payed less than I expected.
We recommend this hotel. Very nice. Only suggestion for improvement might be a nicer mattress. Bed was average, everything else was stellar! Great service, very clean, great location in proximity to things to do in the area. Nice amenities.
We had pubic hair on our toilet and stuff left in the fridge from previous guests. We also found trash under the bed. No compensation was given. Other than that the hotel was acceptable. The staff was friendly.
If you need to stay in Coos Bay this Best Western is located downtown close to several restaurants and shopping. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good to, lots of options to choose from, both hot food and cold.
Great staff, great location, great rooms, great rates, great pool and hot tub. Always clean. One of the best breakfasts I have had at Best Westerns. I am a regular here and there is a reason I keep coming back.
Every time , I enjoyed breakfast in this hotel. It is good for me that the open time is earlier than the others. And kind of foods are suitable. Especially hot items are good , and also coffee is good taste.
I have stayed at this hotel several times and it is always an excellent experience--the staff is friendly and extremely helpful. I made the mistake, however, of booking through a servuce called getaroom.com. What a nightmare! They look like an official Best Western site, but they are not. Despite claiming to offer competitive rates, they are significantly HIGHER than Best Western's published rate. They were going to charge me $160 for a room that I ended up paying $113 for. That only happened because I needed to channge the dates of our stay and was able to cancel the room and book directly with the hotel. However, after a week, I am still waiting for the refund of $160. Not holding my breatth!
Very hospitable staff. Basic room with wifi access w/password. They offer up a standard breakfast fare - including scrambled eggs, sausage etc., to instant oatmeal, juices, coffees etc. The hotel is off the main street and easy to access. They provide a small workout area, pool and hot tub as well. While our mattress was not the most comfy, we still had a very good rest as we were out and about most of the time. Appreciated that the water in the shower heated quickly. Would definitely stay there again for the value!
We picked this BW because of it's location as we are looking to relocate somewhere on the Oregon Coast. We really enjoyed the Staff at this hotel as we were warmly greeted and offered to help with anything that we needed. Location is near Old Town with some really great restaurants and across the street is the Board Walk. Great Breakfast was complementary and Very Good. Give it a try.
We had stayed at this hotel several years ago and hoped it had been upgraded since then but sadly it was worse than the first time we stayed there. We were given the very last room on the ground floor next to the road. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows too small. There was even an old bottle opener in the bathroom. Can't remember the last time I'd seen something like that!
Our stay was pleasant, close to restaurants, and very quiet.. The room was so well insulated, we had to switch to cooling for a comfortable sleeping temperature, even on a cold November night. Our black lab was welcomed and a large outdoor dog run provided for him. Breakfast was excellent...I loved the canned peaches as well as the hot eggs, sausage, and hash browns. I did have to look for the hot food....it was in a separate seating area. The seating area had big windows and was cheerful and well lit. The property looks rather plain vanilla and is in a semi-industrial area. More attractive landscaping would benefit its image.
I went down to the coast to get away from the busy City. Had a great time went shopping 8 hour in restaurants visited friends looked at the VA, went to the beach all in all it was a great stay. The motel was great, bed comfortable food good I would stay at Best Western again if I came back to Coos Bay.
Called ahead for a Saturday night stay as most places were booked. Was able to secure a room for an unplanned escape from home. The room was average quality and just fine for our overnight needs. The style is outdated and could use a refresh to breathe more life into it. The kids enjoyed the pool as we ventured out as a couple. Had to drop the rating as the toilet was clogged and backing up and we were simply handed a plunger and towels to deal with the problem (lucky that we didn't charge plumber's labor fees for the fix), and breakfast was advertised from 6:00am-9:30am, but as of 8:40am there was little left, No hot foods at all when we arrived, I grabbed a cup of orange juice and checked out as we sought out breakfast elsewhere. If you tell your guests 9:30am, then you should maintain to standard, not simply let those coming in later collect the scraps left by early risers. Super disappointing to kick out even more money somewhere else instead of being able to save a little on our meal costs. Good location and adequate rooms and family pool, can't say more about it.
Stayed here with the family again, this time I booked a double queen room. It was rather small, especially the bathroom. No upgrade was offered as a Rewards Diamond member, but they may not have a better double queen room. The hotel is showing its age, but still clean and convenient.
I have stayed here a couple of times now and highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and courteous. The breakfast is really good for a free hotel breakfast.
Wonderful group of people. Took very good care of my wife and I. Room was clean and cozy..Will stay here again. The location was very convenient located right off hyw 101. Located close to several eating establishments.
Very comfortable hotel that was enjoyable as well as a great value. The indoor heated pool and spa were warm, clean and inviting. Breakfast was much better than expected with many choices. Many restaurant choices nearby--some within walking distance. Free parking, free local newspaper, ands in-room coffeemaker. All of my hotel needs were covered.
Very convenient to all of Coos Bay and North Bend. Staff is friendly and the accommodations most comfortable. Will use again if opportunities bring us back to the area. Great golf courses close to the hotel.
Great staff, easy to find, but in a seedier part of town. Still we were very comfortable. rooms very nice, bed very comfortable. Lots of pillows, and upscale bedding. The free breakfast was great with lots of choices. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. Just be sure to lock your car.
Across the highway from the boardwalk and an easy walk to excellent restaurants, Best Western Holiday Hotel has all the BW amenities : fresh linens, free wifi, complimentary breakfast. The fridge and microwave added to the comfort. Friendly staff made the stay enjoyable. Breakfast offered a wide selection of healthy heart and hot choices. My only question: why does breakfast end at 9:30 when checkout is at 11:00?
On our Oregon coast tour we stayed here one night with our adult son. Had one kingroom, end unit, with sofa bed in living room separated by door. Two TV sets. Total was $165 with taxes. Quiet, ample towels, breakfast standard cold cereals, yogurt, waffles, muffins, usual Best Western quick breakfast. But for the price, we love Best Western. Clean hotel. No shower cap, but shampoo, conditioner, etc.
Great stay with family. Pet room was good and clean. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was really nice. Friendly, helpful staff!, We would stay here again. Good restaurant with in walking distance which we enjoyed.
There's nothing particularly unique or flashy about this hotel. It's comfortable, service is decent, the wi-fi works well and surprisingly is fast enough for gaming, and although the facilities are clearly getting up there in age they're still maintained. At this price point I'm not sure what more you'd want. The only real downside is noise. It's situated between the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 101, and although you can't hear the neighbors in other rooms, you definitely hear the road. It's the city's only real north-south highway, so it gets all of the truck and through traffic. The AC unit doesn't have a fan-only option - only heat or cool - so there's no consistent white noise that would help drown it out. There's also a construction site next door (as of October 2017), so if you have a room on the north side that might be an issue depending on when they start work. Still, it's a nice little place, and the location in the midst of central Coos Bay is convenient. You can easily walk to nearby bars, restaurants, and other attractions.
Nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were good size and very clean. Breakfast choices were good and presented well. Being that the hotel is on a major highway was extremely noisy and very hard to sleep.
Nice rooms, clean, a bit expensive but it is a coastal town so that is expected. The breakfast was good, several choices both cold and hot. The staff are always friendly. Never have used the pool or spa, but they appear clean.
We had a roomy suite on the 3rd floor with a small deck looking out at the river. We enjoyed the deck in the late afternoon. However, that evening people frequented the hot tub directly below our room and the talking went on until midnight. Also, our room was directly across from the elevator, with people talking in the hall until late at night. We enjoyed the size of the suite, but discovered that someone with mobility issues could not get into the tub to take a shower. It was a jacuzzi tub with a very high lip. Too dangerous to step into. If you have mobility issues, I would stay away from this room.
This is a good place to stay in Coos Bay. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The rooms are all outside rooms so we were concerned that it might be a little noisy, but the rooms were insulated enough that noise was not a problem. I recommend this motel!
Excellent hotel for a quick overnight or a relaxing 2 night anniversary date! Took advantage of the wine, the corkscrew and the breakfast the morning after. It is in a great location with a warm and easy going staff. This is probably the tenth time in fifteen years we have stayed here. Brings a smile to our faces each and every time.
This is a normal hotel as hotels go but they have a great location easy to walk and enjoy the town. For dogs they have a great play area right next to the hotel and welcome dogs with a treat and a doggie bag for... well you know what for.
Best western motels are our favorite. This motel was a credit to the organizations reputation. When we checked in, the lady reminded us by asking a question.Did you bring your bathing suit? We had. My wife loves the hot tub. I thought it excellent advertising reminding us..
Normally I would not have chosen a Best Western Hotel but this Best Western was an exception. The exterior of the North Bend (OR) Best Western shows its age, and with the construction around it, we were hesitant to pull in. However, what we found once checked in was the rooms clean and the staff polite, professional and attentive to our needs and the overall location very convenient to our business. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay at this Best Western again.
Very noisy location, trucks, trash collection at 4 am, main drag through town is adjoining the property. My room was the end room and took the brunt of the noise. Internet was down in the morning so could not update. High price for the value received.
This hotel was nice and clean. The faucet in the bathroom sink, had very low pressure. But the room was very clean. The Parking when we were there was not so nice. We have a full size pickup, and it was very tight parking it. My cousin who was there also said the same thing.
This hotel is in a convenient location with good parking availability. The breakfast was complete. It is a little noisy at night because it is so close to the highway, so bring your earplugs. The staff is pleasant and competent.
I come here for business at least a dozen times a year for several years and every single time this facility is 100%... I also come here a lot for leisure with my kids and experience the same feeling...
This was an amazing experience, an exceptional place to stay. It made for a wonderful night after a long day of travel. The employees were so wonderful! The room was immaculately clean. The breakfast was amazing. It was just a wonderful stay!
Best Western has stepped up its game to keep ahead of the competition. We look first for a BWin any small town we visit, most often we experence great rooms. This one has gone above most, great beds, updated baths, good breakfast too...
Hotel is old, but adequate. Nothing special and needs updating. Parking is a bit of a challenge and pet area not convenient, especially at night. Staff was nice and beds were OK. Breakfast was good. Close of highway and restaurants.
We have gotten into the habit of staying at Best Westerns. They have a standard we at least know is "good enough". This time we stayed after traveling down the coast. I was exhausted, and we arrived after 8, but the front desk was absolutely not their B-team. She was friendly and helpful and pretended not to notice that we were smelly animals. The room was much larger than I had expected. Two queen beds and a bid comfortable couch. The bathroom was very small. Almost Europe-sized, but it was clean and everything worked. Plenty of pillows, extra towels, and an extra blanket. The bed was comfortable and we slept excellently. Breakfast was standard, very clean. cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, bagels, danishes. We could tell the pool was a major draw for a lot of the guests, and it looked really nice, but as we were just passing through, we didn't swim.
My husband and I stayed here while traveling throughout the western states it was a little older motel but very clean and comfortable and friendly staff. I can deal with older but cannot deal with being trashed out, and dirty this is far from that we had a good nights rest decent food good price. We would surely stay again.
Hotel is an older facility, but it has been very well maintained and updated. Rooms were very clean and well decorated. Beds were new and very comfortable, however they could add a few firm pillows to the mix provided. Linens and towels were of high quality, well laundered and abundant. Breakfast was average but well stocked with a good variety
I travel to Coos Bay once a month and always attempt to stay at the Best Western there. However, the place is usually booked up and reservation way ahead of time are required. Rooms are always clean and well kept. Bed was comfortable and our room was quiet. Service is excellent and the breakfast is really very good.
This was rated #1 on Trip Advisor. Not sure why, unless this is the best the city has to offer. True, they have a nice breakfast. The place is VERY basic and there is not muchin terms of a lobby, etc. People talked about how NICE everyone was. They were fine, but when I asked upon check in about the construction I read about in one review, the person at check ingot defensive. I was merely asking about our room location. For $150+, I would have expected a step up.
I stay at this location every time I am in the area. The rooms are always clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This location is located just min from great restaurants and minutes from the beaches located in coos bay. I would highly recommend for families and couples.
I spent many nights here on business. The staff was always prompt, friendly, courteous, efficient, and helpful. The beds were always clean, comfortable, and well made, and the rooms well furnished and comfortable.
Janelle at the front desk during the day and Anne in the evening are very professional and helpful for any scheduling or minor issues that might arise. I stayed at this hotel for over a year and was very impressed with the staff from the cleaning folks to the manger. There whole group of folks are very happy and helpful. The hotel is very well kept and taken care of right down to basic maintenance and repainting of parts of the hotel to make sure it is kept in extremely good shape.
The hotel is located in a really nice family friendly place. Easy walking distance to a variety of shops, food and gas stations. Clean rooms, nice pool and hot tub. The breakfast had a great variety for everyone's tastes and dietary restrictions. A little high priced for the rooms but it was worth the money to be in a clean place with the hot breakfast each morning. The indoor pool and hot tub was a delightful treat.
Room had no windows and had smell. Hotel staff refused to change the room. next to main road..traffic sound all the time. Breakfast was good. If I have to book again, will surly check the room. Staff can improve on their attitude
This our second time staying at this hotel and we love it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and work great for our family and allows us to bring our puppy. The breakfast is the great and the kids always love the pool. Great location overlooking the boardwalk.
Went to Oregon for Solar Eclipse, but did not want to the crazy parts. The staff was great helping us find the best viewing spot. Great little town. Lots to do close to Hotel. Rooms were clean and also had a great view from our room. Staff is very friendly. Would recommend recommend highly.
This hotel was super easy to get to and the location was great! Lots of places to eat within walking distance. The indoor pool was very nice and the breakfast was amazing. There were hotel staff constantly cleaning and refilling all the breakfast foods. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Again, BW is a nice motel and the breakfast is very good. But to double the price during the summer was taking advantage of people. I go to Coos Bay often and when I stay there in the winter, it's far cheaper.
Room was outdated and the breakfast was poor. The demolition of a structure just outside our room started at 7:30am. The hot items were lukewarm and did not eat any of it. Went out for breakfast instead.
We booked the room at the last minute. The front desk clerk identified me as a rewards member without me asking about it. Pleasant staff. Breakfast was great. Close to great restaurants and the boardwalk.
This hotel was conveniently located to the venue for a meeting I was facilitating the next morning. I've stayed at a nearby hotel and opted for this one because the other one was so dated. My only concern was when I discovered a used towel hanging on the hook of the bathroom door. I've never had that happen at any hotel and this was the first time I've had a concern as to whether other aspects of the rooms, such as sheets were clean. I've seen the stories on tv about rooms that are not actually cleaned when guests check out. Parking was very tight and it required backing out of the space to the beginning of the parking area to get out. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. And, the staff was very nice.
Great staff, pleasant to deal with, quick to help. Indoor pool and spa were great, I used every night as well as a lot of guests. Great breakfast menu choices and very friendly breakfast staff. Room was spacious and clean.
We visited Coos Bay, Oregon during our travel along the Oregon coast. The hotel was very comfortable and reasonably priced given that we were travelling in high season. The hotel provided a great breakfast to start another day of touring the coastline. The laundry area, located in the pool area was also nice to use. Front Desk staff were amazing with their focus on making your stay a good one. We really appreciated their assistance including where to find a good restaurant for dinner.
Our room was unusually well lit. The working area had at least two outlets. The shower handle was hard to figure out, but eventually we got it. The shower had a grab bar, but not where you get in and out. The microwave was a little weak, but who cares? The front desk provided an usually good map of town. The breakfast area stretches out. You see the coffee. “Is this it?” Then you turn and see the cold food, and then you go around the corner and see the hot food. (or maybe it was the other way around.)
Our room smelled musty, almost like someone smoked in it. There was still ice in the sink when we checked in around 7 pm. Very expensive room for a very basic Hotel, $158.99 per night plus taxes. The so called "free" breakfast was good and the swimming pool/hot tub was also good.
Nice hotel, little outdated, but great pool. Since it stands between 2 streets passing cars are loud if the window is open, but the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great breakfast, friendly people.
It's a motel that's been refurbished and it was okay. The front desk was friendly, the breakfast was filling, the beds were OK. Unfortunately, the walls /ceilings are awfully thin and we could hear our upstairs neighbors all evening. I would probably look for something else next time but if I couldn't find anything I liked, I would stay here again.
I've stayed here every 2 weeks for the last 10 years. Always consistantly great. I always reccommend this to friends and family. A short walk to great dining. We often stay here during our motorcycle trips also.
Location is central, easy access to Prefontaine stops. Travel a lot, for BW this hotel is below average earns grade of C. Dated hotel & decor. Second floor requires negotiating stairs. Breakfast room is small & crowded. Several items ran out during breakfast.
Beautiful area! We plan to return in December to visit the Coos Art Museum and Sore Acres garden and rock waves. Had great meal at Tai's Dynasty Chinese restaurant. Wee ordered Mandarin and Cantonese combos for 4 people. 2 orders are sufficient for 4 people.
On our way to forest grove Oregon for the annual nature printing society we stayed at the best western in coos bay Oregon. It was only 2 of us and it couldn't have been a better stop. We checked in, no waiting time for room, & and for the 1st time ever the person in the lobby actually called our room to see if everything was ok, and it was Clean, quiet, early morning complemented breakfast, perfect She also recommended a place for dinner which was close and easy in & out. We'll stay there again if the occasion arises.
Our stay in Coos Bay was a leisure stay for a visit with a long time friend. There was a lot to do around the area and the pier was nice to walk around on. We enjoyed the sea town life but the hotel itself looked run down, the room had a funny smell, and the internet was spotty at best, which is a huge must as I need it for school. Not sure I would stay here again.
I loved the continental breakfast, but a Motel six was 50 dollars cheaper and I should have just tried a local breakfast that would have cost me around 30 instead i paid for the breakfast and pool i guess.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. Breakfast was great and pool was nice and clean. Very near outstanding restaurants and board walk.
On a stop off on trip south from Portland to San Fran, this is a good place to avoid. Once again suckered into a Crap shoot that is the BW chain. Some are nice, kept up well and have pride of local ownership. This place ain't one of those. Coincidentally saw general mgr or owner on site. Laundry room open to view with over stuffed washer and dryer explaining why sheets and rooms smelled and were filthy. No cleaning carts had a vacuum cleaner and carpets were dirty and greasy. Adios.
I will never stay at this hotel again nor would I ever recommend anyone staying there either. They are rude and they over charge for bad service and crappy rooms. I should have gotten my money back that is for sure.
My family and I have stayed at this BW on 4 separate occasions over the past five years and have more than satisfied with the amenities and friendly staff, always helpful and prompt to ensure my family is taking care of. The rooms are smaller then the usually BW, however, they are always clean. Best place to stay Coos Bay.
Nice central location, clean facility and a great staff. You will find several good restaurants close to the hotel. Lots of things to see and do in Coos Bay. Go see the Museum and the History of Rail Roads.
This was a very clean place to stay. The price was right and the staff was friendly and more than helpful when answering questions. The weather was perfect and our room was close to shopping and other amenities.
Old and dingy building . Adequate parking . Uncomfortable bed . Not a lot of room . the sink was almost totally clogged ( with God knows what ) . Bedside light only worked once . Inadequate electrical outlets . Wifi pretty good . Staff was nice . Breakfast was quite good . Convenient location . Shower was OK but housed in a very small room . Price ($150pn ) was fine .
We stayed in a kitchenette suite. Fully loaded!! It was great! Friendly staff and kids loved the pool. I did laundry while they were swimming then went in and cooked everyone a delicious dinner. It was great!! Only tip I'd give is bring your own pillow if you're particular about pillows. The pillows are a little small and awkward but we used them no problem. Overall great stay, clean, centrally located, felt safe and staff was GREAT!!
Our stay at the Coos Bay Best Western was great. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The children really enjoyed the indoor pool! We'd stay there again. History buffs would enjoy the area, and beach bums will definitely enjoy the ocean!
Tiny and noisy room. The staff was nice but the property has seen better days. The workout room is hot and full of old equipment. It is also in the pool area. Clean enough and close to downtown. Parking is easy I would stay away from rooms facing north on the first floor.
We enjoyed our stay. Rooms are comfortable. Staff are super nice! Pool is really clean. Beds are firm. Water pressure is low. We have perfect weather at the beach! Just wish the pool was available 24/7 as we stayed to watch the sunset on the beach and by the time we got back to the hotel the pool was closed.
First time in Coos Bay, picked the Best Western Holiday, well situated near the water in downtown right off 101, exceptionally well maintained and a terrific staff. Very helpful with recommendation son places to eat and routes for a long bike ride. Breakfast was superb.
We stayed for one night during a road trip down the OR coast. Being a platinum Best Western member, I was upgraded to a larger room upon arrival. Room clean and comfortable. The location was right at the end of town but in a good location where we were able to walk to a restaurant for dinner. Staff at the front desk was very friendly and accomodating. The hotel has a nice indoor pool area with a hot tub which was relaxing after a busy day. I'd recommend staying here.
I did appreciate the staff and the breakfast was very good. The Holiday Hotel is noisy due to the constant traffic heading south on 101 and north on 101. Unfortunately, the roads cannot be moved or I would have given the hotel a 4 (Very Good) rating. There was an odor in the room, but upon my reporting it to the front desk it was resolved right away. The hotel sits across from the bay which was nice to see and located near stores, restaurants, and museums.
This hotel is sandwiched between the 3 north-bound lanes of US101 and the 3 south-bound lanes of US101. The are lots of logging trucks passing by from 4 am until after 10pm. If you hard of hearing this may be ok for you. But I am a light sleeper and I did not get much sleep at all. The hotel itself is rather old and looks very rundown. I stayed in a "redecorated" room. The room felt very "unclean" and it smelled musty. This is the worst looking BW Plus I have stayed at so far. I have stayed at quite of few regular BW's and some of these are much better. For the good news, they have a good free breakfast, better than most other hotels that offer a breakfast. The fare seems to be targeted at "lumber jack" types, of which quite a few were staying there. For me the fundamental priority of a hotel is to provide a quiet room to sleep in; in the priority they failed miserably.
Upon arrival we found that the room price had been increased due to the special event. Only stayed there one night due to being booked solid. otherwise we would have stayed there 5 nights. Would recommend to others but to call before arrival in case there is a special event going on and the price has increased
Comfortable and convenient hotel close to free way. The hotel provides good free breakfast. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds,. you can choose two double beds or a single King bed depending on your need. Provides a 10% AAA discount. The appearance of the hotel is average. Reasonably good staff who are helpful and ready to attend to your needs. I will stay there again on my trips.
average, dated hotel. Breakfast is nice. The location is so-so. Kind of far from the state parks that we intended to visit, but close to the highway. Not as good as some other BW we've been to. However, the hotel staff were helpful and nice.
A very clean and well maintained hotel right on Highway 101 and close to lots of restaurants and attractions. We walked to our restaurant and enjoyed the bay views and the working water front. Great staff who were helpful and and informative.
I travel quite a bit for work and can always count on BW for rest and value of stay. The staff is helpful, the rooms clean, beds comfortable, and having a breakfast ready early each day is plus for starting a busy day.
Came to Coos Bay the Festival of Sail 2017, with only two-and-a-half ships it was a bit of a let down. My stay at this Best Western, however, was almost flawless. Slightly dated, the rooms are nevertheless clean and functional and the service staff attentive friendly. Good hot breakfast included (eggs, sausage, home fries plus all the usual breads and cereals -- with enough tables and chairs for a crowd. Inside pool with hot tub.
All the rooms are allowed to have pets in them so they all smell like a wet dog Because bit is always wet out here and people walk there dogs and then bring them back in the room all wet! There are no pet free rooms. If you have allergies go somewhere else!
The hotel itself is really just average. But! The check-in staff was excellent. We were here (Coos Bay) for the BBQ, Blues & Brews and wanted something closer to the event. I called 3 hotels, 1 was booked and the other the customer service was really rude and hence Best Western won our business. The price is a bit much for what you actually get but it works. The rooms were clean, the internet fast and the “continental breakfast” was actually better than some better known hotels. The rooms are also on the larger side which was a plus for us. Although it's average in hotel standards and cosmetic, if you are in Coos Bay I wouldn't overlook this gem.
The exterior appearance was was very clean , the only problem I have is that the parking was limited the motel was full and couldn't find a parking spot, I did appreciate the help the front aloud me to park in a check in spot
We stayed for two nights recently in one of the handicap accessible rooms, room was in need of some updating on the furnishings but overall was clean and comfortable. Front curtains didn't close very well. Front desk and breakfast staff were extremely nice and helpful. Food is not outstanding but offers good cold and hot entrees. Hotel sits between the Southbound and Northbound 101, but other than train noise occasionally was very quiet. Access is easy from either direction. There are vending machines outside. We had an enjoyable stay and would definitely stay there again.
Friendly folks at check-in and a clean comfortable room. This is an older place but it has been kept up nicely and the bed, furniture, shower, carpet and everything was newer. Huge TV too! Close walk to many restaurants and an interesting waterfront.
This is an updated motel, with better than average (tho not great by any means) breakfast buffet, and very nice staff. We asked for minimal cleaning scents, but the room was still somewhat smelly. It was clean and comfortable though. They take pets, which is a plus, and they appear to have a nice pool. This is where you stay when you have business in town or friends you're visiting. Not where you'd go for a "vacation."
The hotel was clean and the staff was really courteus at check in amd check out. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good stay for not a whole lot of money!
Spent 2 nights there. The room stunk of cleaner the first night. The local restaurants were poor. The staff were friendly and the breakfast is good. When the hotel is full, parking can be difficult. The beds were comfortable. We slept well.
I stay here every time I am in Coos Bay. I like the fact that the downtown area is such a close walk, with many food options within a 5 to 15 minute walk. It's right on Highway 101, with access to the beach and Brandon is jut 30 minutes away. The staff is always helpful.
Location location, This Best Western puts you within walking distance of old downtown Coos Bay. Shops dining etc.It' a larger BW plenty of parking. Our room was spotless ,but tired the place filled up and does a lot of business. We stayed in the wing away from the main building very quiet. This is a well run BW all the staff were attentive and helpful. The breakfast room was very busy but cycled through quickly enough. BW never seems to disappoint will be back next year.
This is the lowest class Best Western we have ever stayed at. We asked for a handicap room. There was no closet in the room. We found a bar to hang clothes in the bathroom. A storm hit & knocked out the electricity to the whole town for a half hour. The hotel had no backup generator or flashlights to hand out. The hotel has two sections. To get a candle one had to run across the parking lot in the downpour to the office or sit in the dark. Breakfast was mayhem.
I stay alot here on business & its always a perfect experience. They always know me by name and service with a smile. Breakfast is great, rooms are nice, location is perfect. Nice indoor hot tub/pool. Exercise center is nice too.
This is a typical Best Western. The location is good and close to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast is good and the price is reasonable. Parking is free and easy. Easy to find at the north end of town.
Nice Hotel Great staff located in historic section of Coos Bay. Close to historical boardwalk and museum. Also close to downtown Coos Bay with a number of restaurants within easy walking range. Near to the Dunes.
The hotel was wonderful! The staff was helpful and very nice. The breakfast was exceptional. The rooms were clean and nice. Everything was better than expected and we enjoyed a family time in the hotel and pool.
Building is a little old. Open air central hallways, sort of a 70's-80's California feel. That's truly the only negative about this place. Very well maintained, very friendly, hard working staff. Room was huge, 2 queens, plus a full fold out couch and kitchenette. Great for family of 6. Breakfast included the standard fare and much, much more. It was kept well stocked and fresh, our entire family got to have something to their own liking and left stuffed. Noon checkout also was nice, left by 11:00 anyway, but didn't feel rushed as the kids swam in the pool before getaway.
The breakfast staff Sirra and the manger Joe are 2 of the rudest people I have ever met. We got treated so poorly by them! I was thank that my children had not been with us due to the Colorful language of the breakfast or room attendant
This was our first time staying in tis hotel in Coos Bay. It was very nice, clean, and geat service. They went out of their eay to make sure the guests were happy, and they were always pleasant, clean and professional. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Rooms need some help but we liked the location for our trip. Hotel was very busy when we showed up. Hotel staff did have a very rude guest on the phone and she handled it very professionally while I was standing there.
Would stay there again. Don't know if we will be in that area again. We find a Best Western when they are where we are traveling. The are was a very interesting place to explore. Good tourist area for a family as well as solo travels.
we were not going to overnight or even stop in Coos Bay, but we were late for our camping site and decided to find a good place to sleep around and, fortunately, that Best Western had a vacant room for us. I must say that this BW is a classical motel style property, providing a very high standard accommodation and outstanding breakfast. trhe room was very clean with confy beds and we found a good sized swimming pool next to our room. I can't but mention the breakfast. it was full with all kind of meals and we really enjoyed it. I would definitely stay here again!
Bathroom in king suite was a little small. The bed was very comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised that even though the hotel has hwy 101 on either side of it, it was very quiet and I got a great nights sleep. The pool was perfect temperature as well as the hot tub. The front desk called my room shortly after check-in to see if my accommodations were to my satisfaction, I have never had a hotel do that before. Keep up the good work.
The accommodations and breakfast were excellent. The room was neat and clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was a big variety in the breakfast. The check-in and check-out staff were very pleasant and helpful. The reservations were easily made through the BW website.
We always stay at Best Western Hotels if we possibly can and this one fulfilled our expectations very well. We can always count on BW for comfort, cleanliness, friendly staff and excellent over all service.
Very nice property. Excellent breakfast with far more variety and higher quality than nearly all other motel breakfasts. The rest of the motel was better than average Best Western motels but nothing special.
We treated our son to a "get-away" overnight trip from Ashland, to visit the Oregon Coast. The Holiday Hotel staff arranged it so we had adjoining rooms (nice as it was raining when we arrived). Conveniently located by the boardwalk, within walking distance of the downtown, and a short 15min drive to the state parks on the coast.
Good hotel in coos bay. Not many options in the area so it was good enough. No unpleasant surprises everything worked just a bit older. Staff friendly, breakfast OK. Lots of road noise but being a heavy sleeper it didn't bother me. Price was OK.
My husband and I spent a night in this establishment while driving up the Oregon coast. Located in downtown Coos Bay, it's clean quiet, safe and secure with a friendly, helpful staff. Close proximity to area restaurants was an added plus.
We appreciate the fact that they are pet friendly, and that the rooms don't smell like pets. Our room was very large and we especially liked the sink outside of the bathroom. The room was big enough for our very large dogs very large bed and we could still walk around.
We were a walk-in on a Sunday night, and it was surprisingly busy. The ladies were very friendly at the front desk. This hotel is right in the cute downtown Coos Bay. It's within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, downtown businesses. The rooms are fine. Pretty standard fare for a best western. It was very clean, nice amenities, a nice surprise given the exterior and flooring in the hallways. Only gripe was the rooms were a little noisy.
This is the only hotel in downtown right now, and sure enough, it's a great one. It's your basic 1970's exterior corridor motel, although you have many modern amenities you would expect in any 2.5-3 star hotel, and they have put a TON of money into this place. Let me tell ya. The rooms were up to date and comfy, etc. Very high end looking beds, etc. No elevator, but knowing best western, they have been installing elevators in many of their existing hotels. Very close to restaurants and other things in the town. Overall, if I come by here again, I will stay here again.
We requested a handicapped room and were very pleased with the room. It had a large roll-in shower with a shower chair. The room itself was very clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful in finding a good restaurant as well. Great place.
This property has a great staff who clearly have service in their DNA. The lobby is stocked with thoughtful items, the rooms are clean and well appointed. The Breakfast Buffet is top cabin...tasty and healthy options with an amazing variety of finish items. Did I mention you're across the street from the Bay!
It's in a busy location but good breakfast and nice walk down the street to the Coos Bay Boardwalk which was the highlight for me. Lots of activity with kayaking and paddle boards. It is really busy here but there is a nice lawn area to take your pet by the hotel. Be sure to keep them on a leash. Room was comfortable and clean.
This hotel met our needs for one night while traveling the coast of OR. It was located in sort of an industrialized area, but the hotel itself was very nice. Staff was professional and hospitable.. Breakfast was grand! Used workout room which is always a plus. Hotel had a nice pool area, but we did not have opportunity to use it.
the hotel was very clean, very nice, the bed was so comfortable! The location is in between 2 busy roads so the trucks were loud if you didn't have the a/c on. But all in all this was a great hotel for the night and breakfast was very good too. The staff was extremely polite.
The hotel was clean and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and they had a fairly good selection of breakfast items. Even though it is close to the roadway, road noise was not an issue. The hotel looks a bit dated in style from the outside, but the rooms were nice.
This is an older motel. It's clean, room has a fridge and microwave. Police were there the evening we checked in and again back in the morning when we went down for breakfast. Maybe this was a fluke but it was creepy. Staff was very friendly and breakfast is on par with most places that bundle it in the room price. From the looks driving around town it might be the best place in town. Motel is between two noisy roads, so you may have trouble as a light sleeper.
Conveniently located motel near restaurants and other activities in Coos Bay and the bay or coast. Room of typical 70"s decor. Beds were very comfortable. T V had good cable service, WiFi was fast and easy to use. Staff is young, energetic and very pleasant. Prices had been raised as it was high season and there was a community celebration occurring which had most of the hotels in town full to capacity with a lot of young people. We could hear the road noise but it was not the worst I have ever experienced.
I stayed here two years in a row for the Steve Prefontaine Memorial Run. As usual very clean and the staff was helpful. Breakfast provided and they have a pool which is perfect for the kiddos. I will always stay here when I visit Coos Bay.
This hotel was not only very convenient but clean. The personnel were very nice and extremely helpful. Their breakfast was over the top.....you won't be disappointed. Great place for families with kids.
An earlier review complained about no bath or hot tub accessibility due to stairs. In back of the office there is direct access to the hot tub and pool with a handicap lift for both. This is a very nice place with friendly staff, and they let you bring more than one pet!
Which means slightly smaller rooms than those built today. The property is in between 2 one way streets that make up US101. There is a diner beside the hotel which is inside of a very walk able downtown with several restaurants within 5-6 blocks on the same street. The hotel has a great indoor pool/hot tub area and guest laundry. The single(Queen) room has 3 chairs that are comfortable enough to watch TV in. The Tv has a great selection of channels ( including 5+ HBO's starting @ CH500).The hotel offers a hot breakfast between 6:30-9:30. On this date I was having trouble logging onto the 'net and needed to get the live stream of my hometown news since a hurricane had run over my house (in TLH) the night before. When the Gen Mgr heard my problem , he personally logged on to the desk computer and got me to my site in time for the news. Yeah THIS is my Coos Bay hotel!
If you're using a discount for your stay (AAA, Active Military, Etc.) make sure the staff has that discounted rate on your reservation before you arrive. I made a reservation for work over the phone. They quoted me the full price rate. I questioned that rate and if they have applied our discount. The staff told me that my rate wasn't correct and they will fix it. I showed for my reservation, the rate still wasn't the correct discounted rate upon check in. I was told once again "we will take care of it". Upon check out they charged me the full amount of the original quote. For the third time I questioned the rate, I was again agreed with by the staff that this is incorrect and they will give me the correct discounted rate. A month later, after multiple calls and never receiving a call back I was finally able to talk to the General Manger this is when he told me I was told different by his staff and that my discount wasn't offered for that stay. After about an hour long conversation with the General Manager belittling me, telling me I was lying to him and that his staff would have never agreed or told me a different rate. I had to pay the full amount.
This location is just average to me. I think the best part was the breakfast. The staff was pleasant and our room was clean. The parking lot is pretty small and having to park so far away from our room was kind of a hassle with two little kids.
When we arrived, check in staff were not all that welcoming. Apparently they just wished they were someplace else other than checking us into our room. One of the first things I noticed when we got into the room were several hairs on the bathroom floor and the floor did not feel (or look) clean. When something like that happens I question the cleanliness of the entire room. The Front Desk staff did have someone come quickly to clean up the hairs and clean the floor but I never felt comfortable with the entire room after that. Agree with mcpmanbeach...that's why I wear flip flops in hotels but in this one, it was mandatory. Towels in the bathroom were rough and older, very well-used. In the morning I went to make coffee but the pot had not been cleaned out from the previous tenant. The grounds were still in the machine and the pot had a bit of coffee in the bottom. The coffee and condiments had been replaced so it must have been obvious to Housekeeping that the coffeemaker had been used. Expensive stay for the poor quality of the room. Definitely not worth the $170. It is not a hotel we'll ever stay in again.
I absolutely loved my stay at the Best Western in Coos Bay. The hotel room was very comfortable and spacious. They served a full breakfast every morning which made it so easy for me! I didn't have to worry about what to feed my toddler, we just woke up and went to breakfast! It was awesome. This location is also very close to the beach which we visited twice while we were there.
We stayed here for a weekend and we were pleasantly surprised not only at the quality of the facilities but the staff were friendly and helpful. The front desk check-in women were pleasant, they worked quickly but covered all the information that was needed, and obviously knew what they were doing! Shortly after we got to our room they called up to be sure the room met our expectations. Housekeepers, maintenance staff, and the breakfast staff all greeted us with a smile and a hello. Several of them stopped to ask if we needed anything. Amazing! The pool was clean and had nice ocean themed murals. I would definitely stay here again.
We drove from the Seattle area and traveling back home to San Francisco because we are pretty dumb, we should have just flown..but we ended up loving it because we decided to take the coastal route from Portland to Eureka basically because we wanted some cool instagram pictures and on the way. We stayed a night in Coos Bay. I thought it was mispelled, it should be called Cool Bay because its so cool. We arrived too late for any sort of night life I think? It seemed like a sleepy beach town for a Sunday night, kinda like a place where a scooby doo mystery might happen. But I am sure on a weekend in the summer it is bumpin. Anyways we got a good rate online while we were driving, stopped in and stayed the night at The Best Western Holiday Hotel. Like the aussies would say, we were on holiday at The Best Western, it was perfect for us. We are very happy with our decision. The room was clean, parking was semi convenient, there was breakfast, free (and fast) wifi- for example I was able to connect to my VPN for work super easy. It was also like directly on the 101, and I had a room that was closest to the street, we didn't hear a peep-not one bit (asside from my unbelievable snoring). Nothing extraordinary happened to be like wow this is amazing, but everything sure seemed pretty close to perfect- and if something is close to perfect involving a last minute stay at a hotel in an area you have never been before then...it probably was extraordinary in itself actually. All staff were friendly (Front Desk, Security Guard (cool Magnum PI lookin guy), and Housekeeping) all so personable and very affluent at making their guests feel comfortable. I didn't try the breakfast because I was catching some z's- the bed is actually really really comfortable. The grounds were safe and clean, price was right, and I even caught some pokemon at the gas station nearby. I want to be the very best, like no one ever was. We drove off down to California feeling refreshed and we saw the area is pretty alive and well during the day. About an hour south (roughly) we saw the most beautiful setting either of us have ever seen, the Oregon coastline. Thanks for letting us stay the night, we will come back one day when we are baller status and can take a week off for vacation and explore the area more- it probably has some amazing coastline north of Cool Bay and The Best Western Holiday Hotel will be our choice.
I made a reservation for my daughter and her fiance to stay at this hotel. I gave her my rewards cards and credit card for the hotel. When checking in, the older lady at the desk said she couldn't use the credit card and I won't get my rewards points. She didn't give them any other options or let my daughter know that she could do an authorization in order to get the rewards points. Very dissatisfied with the poor and incompetent service. To add to the poor service, the room smelled of smoke! Very upset with this particular best western location and will not be staying there during trips to Coos Bay.
Very professional, courteous and helpful staff. Great breakfast with both hot and cold options. Good location with many restaurants, shops and local attractions in easy walking distance. Would stay here again.
Great place to stay! The motel is clean and well maintained. The breakfast had quite a variety of mufffins, waffles, biscuits and gravy and fruit. The staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be staying again!
Well take a look, I have very short blond hair and my husband is white hair military cut Geez can't even clean the floor? Which is why we wear flip flops at all hotels Front desk very nice and responsive but smokers just outside our room were Gross, yo owners make email smoke over at the river Clean is even more important than firm mattresses Oh yeah, put a towel between your face and that pillow
This hotel was just okay. For the service received, I would say it is overpriced. I have stayed in nicer places with nicer staff for around $100 per night and after taxes we spent close to $200 for one night. Our first impression was a woman who made almost no effort to be friendly at check-in. Although we arrived about two hours early she was very rude when she told us she did not have a room ready. She could have been pleasant about not having a room ready yet. After coming back later, a different nicer woman was at check-in, but that unfortunately did not erase our initial experience.
The place is dated and though it's apparent they're doing what they can to keep up its just not enough. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It's clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, the free breakfast is good. I haven't tried the pool yet. Perhaps I'll try it later, in which case I may write another review tomorrow.
Pulling into hotel parking lot, my kids were very upset that I booked us an older hotel, because of older style & outside type entrances. When they entered the room, their attitudes quickly changed. They loved the room. Then they went swimming, and LOVED the pool & Hot tub. Rather than going sightseeing. all they wanted to do is swim. Then came the breakfast. The breakfast couldn't of been better. In fact, it probably rates as the best breakfast of any hotel I have stayed in, & I travel quite a bit. The hotel staff were THE BEST!! I wished the hotels on the rest of our vacation would of been this nice. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
This is a very nice hotel with a very accommodating staff. We were very satisfied with the facilities as well. This hotel is centrally located in downtown Coos Bay and is within walking distance to many restaurants and stores. We would definitely stay here again and will plan to do so again soon.
Stayed here when I moved to coos bay. The hotel was nice for location to every where. The hotel staff was super friendly. The kids loved the indoor pool and me and my wife enjoyed the hot tub. They have a breakfast that is better than a lot of other hotels we've been to as well. We will definitely recommend family or friends to stay there when needed.
We stayed one night in a family room with separate bedroom and a foldable queen bed in the large living room. The room was very spacious and so was the kitchen. Fridge, microwave, cooker (electric), coffee machine, plates and cuttlery, etc. Bathroom similarly nice. Pool was very appreciated by our kids and the many restaurants within walking distance made for an easily planned evening. Not exactly cheap of course (190) but in comparison with what we had in Crescent city for the next price, definitely a best.
Close to everything downtown. We walked to dinner and just across the street to the boardwalk. Room was very quiet and comfortable. The rotating shower head was a treat! We stopped mid-morning to see if we could drop off our computer bag and they allowed it, which allowed us a more relaxing day to sight see.
My wife and i would have stayed at a different hotel, but they were full. We have 2 dogs, and this motel allowed pets. But with the overall experience, the cost per night did not justify the motel. there were not enough electrical outlets to run electrical devices. My wife and I both use close captioning for TV viewing, as we are hearing impaired. The remotes that are in the roo do not allow for the CC to be turned on, nor do the remotes allow for a TV GUIDE to appear for show what is playing. We had to go to the office to get an actual remote for the systems. The bed was comfy, as were the pillows.
we had a refg microwave and a very comfortable bed and no loud noises, watched tv and relaxed after a very long drive. relieved we could get a room with reservations. kozy kitchen next door great food. good parking.
Nice size room for 5 people. Clean and very nicew rooms. Good breakfast. Swmming pool was nice with a spa pool. Friendly at the desk and helpfull. Clean and fine hotel. Good parking facilities.. Micro coffy machine and fridge.
This was our third night of our Hwy. 101 trip. We had a second floor room on the end (Rm.261). No elevator so it was very inconvenient to haul 2 large bags up the stairs. The bed was comfortable and clean with free wifi. The sink area lighting was poor and they need more charging outlets. The restaurant next door was good and the complimentary breakfast was excellent.
Good value, location, breakfast, pleasant staff, good parking and access to city, restaurants, scenic areas, , shops, etc. The area has many points of interest and was worth the stay. Stop asking me for more!
We liked the room, but the parking is mostly on the side of a hill. There are some steps to most of the rooms and no elevator. We had ask for a first floor room and they found us a room that had access using ramps rather than stairs, but still not the best. The room was large and well decorated. Breakfast a B+.
drain in shower was slow. traffic noise was loud.everything was good. if ever in coos bay I would stay here.this part of durvey is absoluterellly rediculoooos. how can you expect to lengthrn when there is nothing more to say.
We sere taking our grandson and friend on a trip down the coast of California as a graduation present. This hotel was a nice location and had a very friendly staff. Our room was.nice sized and very clean. The beds were very comfortable.
Hotel is right along hwy 101 but is surprisingly quiet at night. Staff way very helpful and room was clean and comfortable. They had a very good selection of breakfast items, more than usual for a complimentary breakfast.
We had RV trouble and found ourselves staying at this hotel. Thank goodness they had a room for us. We were traveling with our little dog, so this was his first stay in a hotel. They accommodated us very well, and we had a great room. There was a $15 pet deposit and the room seemed like any other room. There is an indoor pool and hot tub. The hot tub was great after the stress of the day. We had pizza delivered. The room seemed bigger than a normal room, complete with microwave, mini-fridge, sink, and large counter. There were two queen beds, a fold out couch and some chairs. It fit us and our teenage grandson quite nicely. They had a complimentary hot breakfast the morning we left, but all I could find were hard boiled eggs, cereal, juice, etc. My husband informed me that the hot dishes were in a different room (which I didn't know, and we had to take the food up to the room separately in order to not leave the dog unattended). At any rate, I missed the good stuff! I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling near Coos Bay, Oregon.
Nice and clean. Staff pleasant and helpful. Indoor pool and spa, awesome! Nice full breakfast included. Located right in the middle of town walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Will stay here again next time we come to Coos. Bay. I'm out of things to say and I keep getting told today more!
This is an older hotel, that being said, the bathroom was recently redone in our room, and the staff was EXTREMELY helpful. Tamara at the front desk was great, answered all questions and offered great suggestions. They had our room ready before check in which is always good when traveling with a 1 and a 2 year old, and the crib was in the room ready to go. They even had someone come set it up. Great location within walking distance of the downtown area. We would stay here again over other hotels in the area next time.
We have stayed at this hotel in Coos Bay twice while visiting family in the area. It is an older hotel situated between two streets, so there is traffic noise in the rooms when you open the windows. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, staff helpful and friendly and breakfast good. After looking at other reviews, we chose this hotel.
The Best Western,Coos Bay, Oregon, at 411 North Bayshire Drive is a great Location for touring the southern Oregon coast, for doing Coos Bay's first Friday art walk, and for walking to local restaurants. I really also enjoy the Motel's pool and hot tub and the full breakfast us a plus. I highly recommend This mote.
If you are traveling to Oregon Coast I would highly recommend this location especially if traveling with family. The quality of breakfast, service and facilities are at Best Western Plus level and yet the rates are lower. We stayed here over July 4th weekend and the fireworks were literally in front of our window. Spectacular!! If I have one nit pick that prevented from full 5 stars ... need more comfortable pillows.
Their price was extremely high for the quality of the hotel. Their ADA room is not up to ADA standards. The door ways are not large enough for a wheel chair to fit through. Even after we pointed out that one of their guest's vehicles was blocking the wheel chair ramp, they did not ask the patron to move the vehicle, the vehicle remained their for the following 24 hours.
Good value for the typical pet friendly motel. Not a destination sight just a place to stay. The staff was average as was the room and overall service. The room was adequate for a couple but family will be squeezed in.
Stayed there over 4th of July week end. It was completely full. It is located between two very busy streets but the room was surprisingly quiet. The full breakfast was very good and hot. I would stay there again.
What a find! Great experience after getting thrue the lackluster look of the exterior of the Motel. Looks dated old and old style. It is a false look you uncover a wonderful experience hiding under the wrap!
This was just what we needed for passing through to Portland. Nothing special but also no major complaints. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Rooms were fine and clean enough. WiFi was okay. Outside could have used some upgrades. Parking was available and location of hotel was nice.
Passing through on a road trip down the coast, was very happy with our room which appeared clean and cozy. Enjoyed the pool and the spa pool and had a great evening. Went to bed and woke up itching with flea bites in the middle of the night. We have pets which were not with us and even so never have issues with fleas. Despite the fleas I was still happy with our stay. The breakfast was good with many choices. When getting ready to leave I had a flea bite my ankle, when I checked out I quietly told the front desk lady as to not cause a scene and was met with no concern and a half hearted sorry. When I said it was disappointing the desk clerk said she would let maintenance know and asked if I had called the front desk. I told her I woke up at 3 am to use the restroom and noticed the bites and then again as I was leaving. Sad ending to a decent stay.
Hard to find anything positive to say about this hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy but dark decor and lack of natural light make you feel you are in a cave. One saving grace is the really great swimming pool. Ok for one night.
I have stayed here many times for work. The staff is friendly. The breakfast has many options. The rooms are clean and comfy. Parking can be strange at times, but I always have a good stay. Convenient walking distance to shops and restaurants.
It is a bit dated, but everything seemed to be clean and in good repair. Our bathroom seemed to have been recently refreshed. The staff was professional, but personable and friendly. Offered to help in any way. The location is a bit odd, between the two directions of US 101. The traffic noise was quite noticeable, especially during the early morning hours. The free WiFi worked perfectly. The included hot breakfast was about the best we've encountered at facilities like this.
I stayed in an upstairs room with kitchenette, which was a bit dated, but clean. Everything in the room worked just fine, it is a very spacious room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very nice indoor pool. Close walking distance to the downtown, but everything closes early except the bars. Top-Notch breakfast included in the room price, and included Wi-Fi worked just fine. My room has a full size refrigerator, stove & microwave, I am fairly certain most of the rooms don't have a kitchenette. Not a lot of choices in Coos Bay, you will find this place is well above average.
We spent three nights here and were generally pleased with everything: the room, the indoor pool, the breakfast. The location is fine too, at walking distance from downtown Coos Bay. And the service left little to be desired.
I traveled for business and stayed one night at this location. Very pleasant check-in and check-out experience. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable and the hotel is very conveniently located. It was a very good day.
Friendly staff, cleanest restrooms of all the Coos Bay hotels that we have tried - very nice! Perfect place for families, we felt very welcome. The indoor pool was a nice surprise, bigger than we expected and perfect for our young son. Breakfast was great, fresh items!
Not a bad place to stay in Coos Bay. Walking distance to downtown restaurants and bars. Average quality hotel. Breakfast provided was average for the type of hotel. Nothing special here except the location. The price was a bit high given the quality.
The rooms are a bit dated with a small bathroom, but is overall comfortable. Our room appeared to have newer beds and pillows and all of us had a good night sleep. There is a small amount of traffic noise but Coos Bay shuts down pretty early and it tapers off. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast included hot eggs, potatoes, sausage, tortillas, make-your-own waffles, hot and cold cereals, pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt... A surprisingly diverse selection.
Check is quick and easy. We upgraded to a suite and were very happy with the layout of the room. Very spacious with all the necessary amenities. Location is very good as well. The breakfast was very good to get started on a busy day.
For the $$$ they charge, you think it would be a nice hotel..It's not..Hotel staff eating breakfast with guests & maintenance guys with there hats on backwards standing in line with you..Not cool..Loud & dirty rooms, as highway 101 is there.
We were very pleased to stay here on Saturday night of the Memorial Day weekend on our way home to WA. We got the last room and were SO thankful it was a BW! Plenty of restaurants were really close by and breakfast was great! We only wish we could have stayed longer.
Rented the room because if the location, price and more importantly the jacuzzi. When we arrived we were surprised to find that they had placed us in an accessible room...they had no others available. Sure enough...no tub! Later when we went to use the jacuzzi we found it inoperable. The front desk attendant told us the pump was burned out and that the manager had opted to wait to have it fixed as it was a holiday weekend and would be more expensive to fix. So...not only could I not relax in a hot tub, I could not sit and relax in a jacuzzi. So I spent the nite in pain thanks to no available spot to sit and relax. Nothing but an *I'm sorry* from the motel
This hotel was a nice, friendly place in Coos Bay. The bathroom door in the regular rooms is too small for someone with a walker to enter. One needs an accessible room. However, once the staff understood our problem, they found a way to free up an accessible room (thanks to the guest who gave it up) and made our stay great. The only reason I put average for the rooms was due to the door size in the regular room.
Had a nice nites stay at this hotel. No elevator so.... Nice room, comfy beds, pretty good breakfast. Heated indoor pool, great jacuzzi, and a nice private area to sun your self right out the door from the pool. The murals on the pool area walls are awesome! Some noise can be heard from the highway as the hotel is in the middle of two one way streets that make up 101. Choose a room in the middle and on the 2nd floor. The staff is very helpful and really do a good job making your stay nice as possible!
In town for a business meeting and the Best Western provided a good standard room. The room consisted of one queen sized bed and a shower on the smaller side. Everything was clean and taken care of. The room I had was near the main street, which was a little loud (nothing that prevented sleep, but would have been nice to know).
Highway noise was terrible, even with earplugs. AC was set to intermittent despite trying to get it to run continuously to dampen the highway noise. The bed was dirty underneath with a pack of chewing tobacco very obviously where the cleaning person should have seen it if they cleaned underneath at all. The location was good for exploring the next day but would have chosen a different hotel.
Stayed the night in Coos Bay and picked this place as it was close to eats and stuff. Pleasantly surprised. Took a hot tub also and got relaxed from the drive! Close to everything - you can't go wrong.
Excepts for road noise, this was a great hotel. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is included. Location is walking distance to waterfront and downtown. Lots of convenient restaurants.
Our room was very nice, quiet, and bed was very comfortable. When we go to Coos Bay this is where we always stay. Nice variety of food for breakfast. Staff was very friendly. We will be staying here again in the future.
This hotel may not be the newest or most luxurious in the area, but was very comfortable, clean, and in a great location across from the Boardwalk. Nice bed, good breakfast, only complaint was the strength of WiFi signal but that could be related to the location of the room.
The Best Western Coos Bay has a very accessible location; comfortable clean rooms - outstanding breakfast and the internet worked very fast. The parking was sufficient, and of course, the beds were comfortable. No bad experiences here.
Not worth the price. Everything dated and not fresh. Desperately needs a redo. Breakfast good. Good front desk staff. Personable. Towels thin. This should be a constant process in place to modernize and strengthen the brand. Good water pressure. Heat/cool sounded like a Mac truck was in the room.
Clean and friendly and a great value. Breakfast was served hot, and on time. The staff made our stay very nice, making it clear they wanted us to feel well taken care of. The room was clean, and well laid out. The mattress was firm enough to get a good nights sleep, as a too soft mattress always kills our backs. Centrally located on the bay, this was a very good choice for us. PS, the walls did not allow every sound to come right through....thank God.
We were in Coos Bay for one night as a stopover while driving down the Oregon coast and the Best Western fit what we were looking for perfectly. Easy to find location with clean rooms and comfy beds to get us through through the night.
We enjoyed our stay here. Location was perfect only 4 blks. from the Coos Art Museum where we attended an opening reception. Breakfast was plentiful and yummy! We also enjoyed using the hot tub and pool and appreciated the lovely mural in the pool area. Would definitely stay here again if I was in the Coos Bay area.
Very well maintained property, close to downtown and is within walking distance to restaurant and shops. Amazing coastal beaches and Shore Acres state park and botanical garden just a short 20 minute drive from this hotel.
Our family of 7 fit quite well in the 2 Queen Suite (Room 289 was fantastic). We were close to the indoor pool, which was fantastic - clean and roomy. Plenty of towels, warm hot tub - the kids loved it! The staff was especially welcoming and very accommodating. Hot breakfast was great - it would have cost our family $30 to order the same thing at a restaurant. Well worth it, great location.
Needed a place to stay during a wide spread power outage in January for my father and I. The area we live in lost power during a storm in January and we needed a place to stay for the night. The staff was very accommodating in our room needs being next to each other since my father is elderly and has mobility issues. The hotel is located between the north and southbound lanes for Highway 101 through Coos Bay but is very quiet. The staff was very professional and took care of our needs. I would recommend this location to anyone staying in Coos Bay as it is near everything that you need. Thanks again.
Got the last room on a Monday night in late February. Very busy location - Call for reservation if you will be there late. Ate at restaurant a couple doors down - like a Denny's but it worked. The hotel was its usual clean and pleasant place, with a reasonable breakfast bar. We always choose BW if one is close by.
We spent a night here on a drive from San Francisco to Seattle. Our room was clean and comfortable, bed was comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. Location is good, walking distance to several good restaurants.
we had a group of 2 mom's, 5 little boys and 1 aunt. we rented 2 rooms by each other and they were very clean and well kept. The pool was a blast and well stocked with towels. The next morning when we went for breakfast it had EVERYTHING that we normally only see parts and pieces of from other hotels. you name it and it was there. The boys were super happy and the mom's had great coffee. could not ask for more!
there was no view as advertised, was over charged and the bed was more like a full size then a queen. service a the hotel was great no complaints there, the breakfast was good had a variety to choose from.
This might be the better choice when staying in Coos Bay, as there are not many places to choose from. I travel here for business often. This was my first time at Best Western. Motel was clean and looked to be kept in good condition. Breakfast was nice.
Amazing and attentive staff. Very clean rooms. Great pool and hot tub area. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever had while staying at a hotel. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to Coos Bay!
Easily accessible property convenient to needs in either Coos Bay or North Bend. One of the best BW breakfasts around! The choice of morning paper is odd: the only choice is from the larger community of Eugene a couple of hours away. Why this property would not have USA Today like most others is out of touch. Biggest problem: highway noise and train whistles. The property lies between the Southbound lanes of the major road going into town and the Northbound lanes leading out. If you're on that Northbound side, you get the aggressive noise from cars and trucks as they accelerate past the property. Most notably is the 6:30 AM train whistle that must be required by local law. The Coos Bay Railroad track is next to the Northbound lane and the engines are either switching cars or travrsing North with a long pull. I didn't need a wakeup call all week and ear plugs didn't make a difference. I would like to think that if you are in a different part of the property, perhaps the road noise is much more muffled...but the trains?? Its only because of the disturbance not allowing a later morning rise that I had a problem with the property, So if you're an early riser, this is a good hotel slightly above a reasonable price point for a BW property.
We enjoyed our stay at this Coos Bay BW Hotel. It has two open hall wings, two stories, and a little bit of a walk to the second wing from the office. The rooms had a small frig and microwave, and an indoor pool was available too. Tamara, checked us in at the office, and gave us a list of restaurants within walking distance of the motel which was helpful as it was Easter Sunday evening. We had a great breakfast with hot options just off the lobby area and morning check out was very fast even without "express checkout".
The accommodations were very good. The motel had a great breakfast, with a wide selection of hot and cold items to considered. The place was run by friendly and professional staff. The rooms were attractive and comfortable. The television channel selection was the best I have seen.
Great staff, great location, very clean inside and out, big pool, nice hot tub and fitness center. Breakfast was very good they just need a bigger dinning area. located very close to multiple restaurants and the casino is just a few miles away
This a perfect place to stay if you are traveling with your pet. The place is so clean and so welcoming. We were given a doggie treat at check-in. It is centrally located so you can walk to town. Next time, we will bring our children and swimsuits to use the indoor pool and jacuzzi!
This was an excellent hotel. The room was neat, clean and comfortable. They accommodated my dog in a very friendly and helpful manner. The staff was very friendly, helpful and pleasant in making accommodations for me and my dog. The breakfast served was very good.
We enjoyed our stay at BW Holiday Hotel in Coos Bay. While the parking on the North side is a bit tight, there is ample spaces. Close to restaurant options we were given a list of local restaurants and their locations (and how to get there). Good breakfast, nice room, good experience.
We were in town for two days looking at property and stayed at the Best Western in Coos Bay. The room was nice; clean, well furnished, with micro and mini 'fridge and the beds were very comfortable. The indoor pool and spa were definitely a plus after many hours of driving each day. It was also handy to have access to the business center with two internet connected computers and printer (at no extra charge !) But the best part was the friendly and accommodating staff. All in all, an excellent place to stay and highly recommended!
The staff were very welcoming upon our arrival. They were also very helpful and nice throughout our stay. I appreciated the list of recommended places to eat that also included directions to each one! The room was very comfortable and the hot breakfast was filling. The downtown location made it easy to walk to destinations. Overall, we were VERY pleased with this Best Western hotel and look forward to returning to it.
We were pleasantly surprised staying here. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the rooms are very nice and clean and the service is great. Delicious breakfast buffet and they have one of the nicest pool rooms I've been in!
the service was very good and rooms clean enjoyed the stay and was reasonable price wise comfortable room very nice decor had a great breakfast that came with the room also was nice to have wifi staff was helpful with informatiom about the chain and what came with the rewards program
The staff takes pride in making sure your needs are the most important to them. The hotel is very well maintained and clean. The hotel staff is very effecient and helpful. The hotel doesn't feel like a hotel, but like a bed and breakfast.
This hotel has everything you need. A pool, hot tub, full breakfast, fitness area, hairdryers, microwave, fridge, free wifi, and pet friendly. The hotel was very clean and my kids enjoyed the pool. We took advantage of the full hot breakfast bar. The breakfast bar has eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, tortillas, salsa, sour cream;to make breakfast burritos. You also can have toast, bagel, english muffin with jam or peanut butter or cream cheese. Cold breakfast was cereal three choices, oatmeal, three choices of juices, coffee, tea,;Ext..... My kids are picky eaters and it was nice to have a variety. Anyways TV was a decent size too. Bed was comfortable. My family enjoyed their stay.
I was pleasantly surprised with the roominess and cleanliness. I was looking for some space so I could do some work and it was more than adequate. I would definitely come back. The breakfast was much more than expected.
Although the area in which this Best Western is located looks a little industrial, it is really not, just across the street is the boardwalk, across the other street are shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is very nice, the employees were very kind and helpful, friendly. Our room was spacious and clean, well supplied with everything you'd expect. We took our dogs to the beach and had some dirty towels and clothes to wash and were very happy to discover a washer and dryer for guest use. A great location as it is centrally located to beaches with the sea lions and the sand dunes. We really enjoyed our stay of two nights.
Stopped here on trip down the coastal highway. It is an older hotel but clean and very close to several local restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was great and staff was very friendly
Employees barely acknowledged our presence when we walked in to register. We later asked for directions to the nearest Subway, and only found it because we did not follow the employee's directions Location was noisy. We did not know it was located between northbound and southbound lanes of 101, which was what made it pretty noisy. Room was not particularly clean and smelled like it needed a deep cleaning. OK for one night since we could not cancel our reservation, but would not recommend to others or return ourselves.
We like this motel. Close to things in Coos Bay. Good night's rest. We have tried other motels in this region over the years. There are several that are cheaper; however this motel offers a better and more comfortable room.
The hotel staff are alway friendly and helpful to meet customers' needs, such as needing to check in early. The rooms are small, kind of dark, and dated, but clean. The location is good, which is near downtown and close to the casino. The price seems high, but the choices are limited and the staff keeps me coming here.
It is between north south bound highway 101. So if road noise bothers you you may need to look elsewhere. Very clean, great breakfast, friendly help, too bad it is close to highway. We were just passing through so was unable to visit things in town. Traffic died down a little during the night.
Average place to stay just for one night. The complimentary breakfast is very good! We like Best Western hotels as we are reward members but just giving this hotel an average rating as we thought it was a BW Plus and we felt it was more like a BW.
All around a great place, wonderful staff, clean and nice rooms, quality products, food, soaps, etc. A perfect location in town, "close" walking distance to the restaurants and attractions, couldn't have been happier, also a very safe area.
Some of the friendliest & most helpful staff! Quick response to maintenance request or any time you inquire at the front desk. Room clean and comfortable. Nice for an older facility. Breakfast had some healthier eating options, like yogurt, boiled eggs, & fruit. In less than 20 minutes you can be at Shore Acres or Sunset Beach State Parks for some of Oregon's best wave action and beach beauty.
Reception was friendly and efficient upon check-in. Stayed in a second floor room and found it to be quiet. I think being on the first floor or near the pool might have been noisy as the hotel was full. Bed was very comfortable, room clean, and fast internet. Breakfast was very good but awkwardly laid out (split into two rooms).
You simply can't go wrong at this hotel. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, located within walking distance (when it isn't cold and raining) of several restaurants. The breakfast is outstanding with a wide variety of choices. The indoor pool was inviting, even on a cold day.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to waterfront and downtown businesses. It is consistently clean and the staff is friendly.THE breakfast has a nice variety of items.I would definitely stay there again.
Selected hotel from Trip Advisor and was not let down. On arrival the staff were attentive and also phoned the room after we had settled in to ensure all was well. Room (King suite) was huge and very comfortable. Only complaint was ice machine below our room (292) was a tad noisy. Breakfast was first class and even a nice cup of English Breakfast tea available. Top notch!
Excellent experience. The lady in the front desk was very nice. The room was perfect, had 5 channels of HBO. Was very quiet. The room was in the ground floor. has an indoor pool Breakfast was very good: eggs, sausages, toast, bagels, waffles, yogurt, and muffins. They had also free newspapers
My family and I have stayed at this hotel many times, the check-in process is easy. The staff very friendly and the lobby is clean. I will say however that the room was outdated and the bed was like sleeping on a cement slab, in fact a cement slab would have been more comfortable. I would guess from the last time we stayed the hotel had to of replaced the quality of the beds that they purchase because I would have not picked this hotel again had they been horrible in the past. So if you are a weary traveler be forewarned that that a restful sleep might not be had at this hotel.
Your hotel is the best in Coos Bay OR. unfortunately it is old. The best thing you have is a great hot tub. Usually I stay @ Marriott hotels which are a level or two above yours, but you are the best Coos Bay has.
Love the breakfast! The room had 2 issues, curtains interfered with the heater & bathtub plug did not work, The young ones in the family loved the pool. We were given rooms next to and close to each other. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Service great, bed great, breakfast wonderful. One of better places to stay in Coos Bay, Oregon. Went to see the lights at Shore Pines State Park. Beautiful display and wonderful night. Would recommend as must see for the holiday season.
Coos Bay's Best Hotel. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Coos Bay on highway 101. Several good restaurants in the area. The hot breakfast buffet was great. We really enjoyed the enclosed pool and hot tub. It is Close to everything in the Bay area.
Pool was great and is the reason we stay here, very clean room, heating system very noisy could not sleep so turned it off, staff friendly but did not tell us breakfast ended at 9:30am so missed it, very convenient location
This motel is located on a narrow strip of land between the northbound and southbound lanes of US Highway 101. The noise from all the truck traffic along with the rattling of our loose door made sleep impossible and I'm 72 and half deaf! When I mentioned this to the clerk at checkout her response was that I should have asked for a better room. I am wondering why they fill the crappy rooms first. Avoid this place unless you can sleep through anything.
My wife and I made plans to see the beautiful holiday light display at Shore Acres SP, in SW Oregon. However, we needed a place that would allow us to bring our dogs with us, as we had been away recently without them. It's hard not to go to the Oregon Coast without them. I checked a hotel I had stayed at in Coos Bay before that I enjoyed. However, they had a limit on the number of and size/weight of dogs. So that made me look elsewhere. Thankfully, the local Best Western took care of us. As a frequent user of BW hotels, this made me happy. The hotel is nothing special to look at from the outside. It is simple and perfect for the area it serves. Upon check-in, I was greeted by Ann at the front desk. Not only was she fun to talk to, she knew the area well, and provided excellent directions to our destination for the night. The room was just the right size for us. Enough room to put our dog bed down without tripping over it. The hotel had replaced all the beds earlier in the year, so I had the bed I expect to find at all BW locations. Same comfy sheets, pillows, etc. We slept well, which is pretty much why I continue to choose Best Western Hotels over and over. The morning breakfast had a nice assortment of items. Check-out was quick and again, friendly. Overall, it was worth the money spent for a time in Coos Bay.
Hotel overall was nice. The breakfast is great. Staff is terrible. Both check in and check out staff very unfriendly. I can forgive one unfriendly employee but not multiple. I thought possibly it was just me, but we had 4 rooms and my cousin had the same bad experience at check in.
We stayed one night while traveling the Oregon Coast. Our room was clean and everything worked. The front desk staff were friendly and offered a list of local restaurants for dinner. The breakfast selection was large but you need to check both rooms for food selection. The food layout is broken into 2 rooms. We had a bit of trouble finding our room because hallways weren't marked with a sign giving directions. The room was non smoking but there was a tinge of smoke smell in the room. Even with that issue I would stay in this hotel again.
Hotel is nice not real modern but clean and neat. Breakfast was fantasic. Staff very friendly. Parking is good and easy to access. Would stay there again as it is located in a great area not from downtown and the boardwalk.
Room was clean and comfortable. The only reason I am writing this review is to compliment the girl at the front desk when we checked in at about 7 p.m. She was being verbally abused by a man with credit card issues and she was polite and professional through the whole ordeal. She maintained her composure until he left and the tears started to flow. She told us later she had only been on the desk for three weeks and although was in contact with the manager by phone she was there alone. We went to Starbucks to get her a latte, she deserved it.
Not a hotel. Doors are on the parking lots, plenty of noise from the road. Not much better than a motel 6. Had a fridge and microwave, and a nice tv that is difficult to use with their remotes. Some staff are great, some are very flustered
Very clean, nice staff. Ok breakfast. Office computers not working during both days my stay there. One day rainy which I could understand the connection being iffy. Next day clear but still no connection when I tried. Don't rely on office computers being available. Very convenient to walking around downtown. Recommend staying in middle of hotel to avoid traffic noise from street side.
Best Western is very consistent for me in giving a clean comfortable stay with pleasant helpful staff. the hotel is downtown near food and shops and less than 2 miles from The Mill Casino. Breakfast is your basic eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, not fine dining but good enough to fuel up before fishing or a quick meal before getting on with your day.
We arrived early evening did not have a reservation and it was raining like crazy. We got a nice room, ground floor and the girl at the desk was very helpful recommending a place to eat, she even gave me a list to choose from and told me her favorite places. She told us which were in walking distance and the direction The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and we could open the window for fresh air. I would recommend this motel to anyone.
Good place to stay; I've stayed at this location close to 20 times over the past two years for work travel. The staff is terrific, rooms are clean. The only downside is that either end of the hotel faces busy streets so reserve a room in the middle of the building~
Quite comfortable. Clean and quiet. Friendly staff. Good cooked breakfast. Tiny bathroom. Very dated 1960's decor. There's still a bottle opener on the bathroom door frame. Like paisley ties, perhaps the world will return to this design style one day.
Come to appreciate Best Westerns, but this one in particular needs a lot of TLC and UPDATING. While the experience was generally just good, could've been so much better with some $$$spent on paint, carpets, sheets that fit, etc., etc., etc.
Located right downtown, with easy access from either of the one-way roads around the hotel. Front desk gives you a listing of local restaurants, including which ones are within walking distance. We were travelling through and only stayed one night, so location was great, and hot tub, pool, and hot breakfast were all fine.
The first trip was to pick up my new bike. Had a great stay. Went back this trip to pick up my friends new Harley. Another wonderful experience all around. Maybe the next trip we can stay longer. Thank you!
Love the location, right by the historic boardwalk. Had nice stroll enjoyed the tugs and the history lesson. The rooms are nice sized. The indoor pool and spa were wonderful. Nice hot breakfast with eggs sausage waffles and a whole host of other goodies.
We enjoyed the convenience to local restaurants and relatives. The facilities were well kept up, nights restful and quiet, continental breakfast complete enough for a variety of tastes, especially the apple danish when microwaved.
Called ahead, same day, and booked one of the last two rooms. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic setting, would look somewhere else. There is a ramp to a level of rooms for those who have trouble with stairs. The property is located right between two one-way streets on 101, so it gets traffic noise. Staff was friendly. The room and bath were clean, with free Wi-fi. Breakfast, also included, was better than expected. Loved the tortillas!
We have stayed at this hotel on other trips and like it a lot. It's clean and well-managed. The staff is welcoming and the breakfast was excellent! We arrived late after a full day of driving and the check-in experience was smooth and nice.
We were driving the Oregon coast and looking for a quick and easy place to spend the night. We were two single women and needed a safe place as quiet. This motel fit the bill. Clean, fresh, safe, excellent location - this was just what we needed. The complimentary wifi and breakfast in the AM made this even better.
Not a bad place to stay if driving down the Oregon coast. Right off the main highway. Hotel is nothing fancy, but it was clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was better than the normal "free with room" meal.
What hurts this hotel is that it's nestled between the north and south-bound lanes of Hwy 101 (which goes through downtown Coos Bay as two one-way city streets); meaning it's noisy when trucks roll by. I advise getting a room in the middle, which helps some. The property isn't surrounded by a pretty neighborhood either.// That said, I've seen some houses with less square footage than my room. Huge! Mine came with an extra sink / kitchen area with a microwave and fridge. Beds are super comfortable. Staff was very nice. Excellent big breakfast. Workout room was sub-par, especially compared to the BW in downtown Eureka. // So, in summary: If some noise isn't an issue, then this place is very nice.
Great stay. We were given an upgrade that was very nice. Great beds, good nights sleep, wonderful breakfast. Nice friendly town to visit. We were there for the Friday night "Wine Walk". Met some great people, had a wonderful time. "Shark Bites" for dinner had great fish and chips. Walking distance to anywhere in town. Loved Coos Bay and the Best Western. Would love to stay there again. Nice employees.
Enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was better than most with a good variety of food. It is a good place to stay when traveling the coast of Oregon. We would consider it again. The staff at the front desk was very good with us at check in.
Vwry nice people work here, room furnishings are very nice and comfortable, just dont take a room by the road even at a discount lots of road noise on both ends of the motel. Stay in one of the middle rooms.
This hotel is not bad for a one night stay. The hotel is an older building that could use some updating in there rooms. The building is between two roads so traffic noise can be an issue. On the plus side the WiFi worked great and there hot breakfast was very nice.
I stayed here and the Red Lion. Both were comparable, but I think I liked the Best Western a little better. Location was a little better also, since it is close to some restaurants downtown. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars.
