Description

Along historic Highway 40, the SureStay by Best Western Chambers Petrified Forest, Chambers, Arizona, is a welcoming base amid the rugged beauty of northeastern Arizona, with a modern lobby, spacious rooms, free high-speed internet, flat-screen televisions, refrigerators, microwaves, and a complimentary full breakfast each morning. The setting gives easy access to a national park, a historic trading post, and a deep red-rock canyon, with the painted badlands close at hand. It makes a comfortable base on a Mother Road road trip. Chambers sits on the high desert of northeastern Arizona, where Interstate 40 traces the old path of Route 66 across the Colorado Plateau. Petrified Forest National Park lies just east, its hills scattered with rainbow-colored fossil logs and the banded clay of the Painted Desert, while the historic Hubbell Trading Post and the sheer walls of Canyon de Chelly wait north in the heart of the vast Navajo Nation.

"Disappointing & hard to find a front dest person"
OffWeGoToo, 23 Septembre 2026

Went to check in and noone at front dest had to wait for some time for so finish meone to appear Then told have to come back your too early (Had confirmed booking) Room wasn't anything fantastic - Shower head in the middle of the ceiling and water gets everywhere So you need extra towels to dry the floor They only leave 3 of each size towel (bath, hand, face) - By the time you finish your shower the floor is wet -Shower curtain and rod fell down onto my head as it wasn't secured well in place - When we left nobody to be found at front desk to get a receipt, or tell about the bathroom issue so I had to find a housekeeper - Breakfast was fair - Coffee was so weak it looked and tasted like brown hot water - We choose this property for it's location close to Petrified Forest & Painted Desert as we were traveling east to west - COuld be a nice property but........,

"Not the best or cleanest"
Nadia L, 15 Septembre 2026

They had different prices online and in person and when ask the Indian man in charge said that if we wanted to go ahead and book online we could but he cannot price match. Later on I lost ID when called back to see if it was there, he didn't bother to look or help a customer. The room reeked like they mask them with a whole bottle of Febreze and as someone who's allergic to it it's unacceptable. 3 crickets in the room.

"A Budget stay"
w4me2fly, 16 Janvier 2026

A night was spent at this lodging on our way west. It is an older facility that has been updated. I have to admire the effort and it certainly does make a difference for simple amenities. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Road noise was an issue. Management offers ear plugs. Nice thought. Breakfast was simple with average choices.

"Motel good, restaurant cheats."
dunenuthin, 14 Novembre 2025

Motel was clean, manager, Sanjay, very accommodating. Word of caution; do not go to restaurant on premises, Punjabi Dahaba, our bill totaled $24, he charged us $35, we paid cash, when questioned our incorrect change, owner responded price went up yesterday. When asked for copy of bill, owner responded “no copy”. He is a cheat.

"Nice place"

The room was clean with a decent bathroom. The owner is a very nice man who takes a lot of pride in his business. I would definitely stay here again.

"It was a nice stay, but there was terrible noise from the highway."
IngridK1647, 09 Juillet 2025

The hotel is right next to the I-40 highway. The constant rumble and roar of trucks passing by made the room unbearable at night. If I didn't have earplugs from the plane, I wouldn't have been able to sleep - that's why I wouldn't recommend this hotel to neurodivergent people who have trouble with noise. The hotel has an excellent location if you want to visit Petrified NTLP and are coming from Moab, for example... if only there was a noise barrier built around the highway, as is quite common in Europe (photos)... It's a standard motel with a continental breakfast served in a small room with only a few seats. The room had relatively new furniture and was nice. The bedside tables had built-in electrical outlets and USB and USB-C connectors, which we really appreciated. The mattress was placed on the frame without any fasteners. So, if you sat down carelessly on one side of the mattress, it shifted by almost 10 cm. The doors could do with a good clean as there are dirty marks on them. When we arrived, there were flies in the room. There was yellowish water in the toilet when we arrived. We soon discovered that the toilet was not draining properly and that the toilet paper was coming back up; we had to flush several times. Even so, by morning the water was yellowish again. The Wi-Fi signal in the room was weak or non-existent, but in the corner of the shower stall by the wall, it was strong and the speed was acceptable. But who spends time planning the next few days in the shower? The room had a different type of air conditioning to usual. Rather than being under the window, there was a thermostat on the wall and cool air came through a grille between the bathroom and the room — the air conditioning was routed through the ceiling.

"If you must stop between Humboldt and Gallup, this will work. It's just OK, but points price was right."
BonkyConk, 04 Juillet 2025

It's an old property, remodeled sometime fairly recently. Price was right (12K Best Western points.) Room had a strange smell, but looked fresh and clean. Appreciate the double sheets with a clean duvet in the middle. Lots of pillows. Towels fresh and new. AC worked well. The water here is smelly --probably beyond anyone's control, but we opted to not bathe. Breakfast was scanty but adequate = yogurt, 2 dry cereals, scrambled eggs, basic assortment of breads, typical fako orange juice and apple juice, coffee excellent. The location is very noisy with freeway traffic and roug roads, but it was not problematic. Rm 105 is probably the quietest room on the property. No elevator. Thankfully they had 1st floor room that was quiet. We didn't realize there weren't any restaurants nearby -- backtracked 6 miles to a Subway for dinner; should've planned better. Would we stay again? Hmmm -- maybe not. Humbolt is an hour west; Gallup is an hour east --- probably would seek out either instead of this stop. The scenery around here is amazing -- sorry we missed the Petrified Forest on our way east; too late to turn back now. Next trip will be a must do; highly recommended by friends. This is an amazing Amtrak route for scenery, if you train rather than drive.

"Would stay again for sure!"
Kela M, 26 Octobre 2024

I stayed here as a stop on my way from Oklahoma to Las Vegas, NV for a festival. I only stayed one night but would definitely recommend it. The room was clean aside from the shower could have been cleaned a little better. Shortly after I checked in, the front desk called to make sure everything was good. There is a restaurant that is 24hrs on site though I believe there is a sign that says they are not affiliated with the hotel. The hotel is not near much, but it is not bad - especially for the price. Comfortable beds and pillows, and clean spacious room.

"Safe & comfortable stay!"
shandiin y, 25 Octobre 2024

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I travel to the area often throughout the year and although this is my only option, I am so happy to have a safe, clean, comfortable stay with my dogs and partner. I definitely recommend if you find yourself needing rest along the I-40, and it includes breakfast so that is a plus.

"Clean and comfy"
Voyage65690592233, 20 Août 2024

The room itself made me say wow when we got there. It not only looked good, but smelled good also, we even had a pet friendly unit! Not only did the fridge work, but the freezer portion worked as well, which worked out well since the next town/restaurant is 40 min away. The shower pressure was really nice after hours in the car, a little massage. The bed had plenty of pillows and was surprisingly comfortable. This room also had a thermostat on the wall for localized air instead of a wall unit like most traditional hotels.

"worth the stay"
topunixcat, 19 Août 2024

This hotel is very easy to book, and also access from I-40 was super easy with their new sign . There is a on site restaurant which is convenient for guests. The room was clean and has refrigerator w microwave in it. parking is also available right out of the building. Overall , good value.

"Clean room, see review if you have a dog. "
kevinsQ3859RI, 26 Juillet 2024

This is easy to find right off I40. The room was clean. If you have a dog I wouldn't stay here, there is no place for them to relieve themselves. Just a dirt place to the side and back with trash all over. There is what appears to be a lawn in front but it is fake grass.
