Best Western Hotel Modena District, Campogalliano

Good clean hotel, nice public areas, bedroom, at least the one we had, was huge with big beams and a high ceiling - very nice to stay in ... would recommend to anyone. No bar staff so both nights had to ask at reception if they could get someone to serve - the second night the receptionist told us to go to the restaurant and find someone (unbelievable!) but that didn't work either! Quite a few people turned up for a drink, waited then wandered off so this needs looking at. ?

I think this is an excellent hotel if you need a room that's clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. Although it is located in an industrial zone, you don't need to leave tho hotel in the evening. Stay in and have diner at the Osteria. This is, hands down, one of the best Osterias we visited during our trip in Italy. The staff was very friendly and spoke with passion about the food and wine from their region. You have to accept that there are families with children, so the background noise (or in some cases nuissance) is something you have to deal with. But picture that food in some lovely square or hilltop restaurant that you visited (or might still visit) and you have a real winner.

We came here travelling down to Southern Italy as a stopover and found it as listed as a best western. It is a little off the beaten track but easy to find on the sat nav. We received a nice welcome and we were very happy with the room and the facilities. It was only when we went downstairs for a pre-dinner drink that things went a little awry. There was no one at the bar but when we askedat reception if the bar was open someone came from the restaurant. There was an empty bottle of tonic on the top so thought we would be able to have a gin and tonic. The girl got the gin from the fridge poured it into the glasses, no ice then added Schweppes. There wasn't enough in one bottle so she got another from the fridge, it was Sprite so we immediately said no, you cannot add that, then we noticed the Schweppes bottle was soda. We had to abandon the gin and tonic. We went to the restaurant. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside as was booked with a large party, The menu looked good. We were served with stale bread but this was replaced immediately when we asked. The food was good but I think the balsamic vinegar was watery and thin, not what we expected in Modena. Not sure how safe the wiring for the lights is either. Slept well and breakfast was an acceptable spread.

Always a welcome from staff. The rooms are excellent and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is of a very high standard with a lot of local dishes. Located at the edge of the town and industrial area, you need a car to visit the local area. Most staff speak good english.

All of the staff, were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English, special mention to the 2 girls looking after breakfast who were outstanding. The room was very successful decorated, Not a boring box. The bed was outstanding, and we both had wonderful nights sleep. It is only a slight untruth to say i have seen baths for newborns bigger then the one provided under the shower. Absolutely useless. Take it out and fit a proper shower try. We had dinner in the restaurant. I found it a victory of form over substance ( ie the look of the food was more important then the taste) however my wife loved the whole experience. The breakfast buffet was a average in quality and choice.

This is a lovely,quiet hotel that offers spacious rooms. My room was 316 and it was a pleasure to stay in. The bed was huge, there were two tv's and tea and coffee making facilities. The wifi was fast enough for all I used it for and the room had a laptop cooling stand at its disposal. A nice touch was the remote control to close the Velux windows. My only gripe is that the immediate surroundings don't offer much to do but Modena is not too far away!

The hotel is perfect for a stop over or a visit of the region. Car is necessary, but rooms are very big, clean and staff is very professional. Also the breakfast was very good and the choice more then sufficient.

It was ok for leisure travellers like us and the reception staff were really helpful. If you want a bed close to an autostrada then for a road trip it's ok but there is nothing nearby and the hotel restaurant is not geared to English leisure travellers. The €4 breakfast can't be faulted for value for money but, at the same cost, it is no way close to the same breakfast at Best Western Mestre near Venice. Also this otel caters for an annual dog show and therefore I was somewhat surprised to see an alsatian going in the room next to us. The top floor is surprisingly noisy because of creaking timbers. There are 2 or 3 other Best Westerns nearby for comparison purposes in terms of prices and facilities. Overall for our 3 day road trip it was about 3.5 out of 5 with the reception staff 5 out of 5.

The hotel has excellent rooms, restaurant and provide free parking to guests. Located close to "Tangenziale", good to move to/from the freeway. Staff has great English skills. Good value for the money.

The restaurant was superb - everything was very delicious and well presented, service was good and speedy.They also allowed us to take our dog in. The hotel has a good location as a rest stop but it's not convenient if you want to visit Modena. Breakfast was only 4 euro and worth every cent of it although it was nothing to write home about.

This hotel is comfortable and has and a non payment parking. Although it is located in the industrial zone, the hotel is surrounded by a nice park but the only problem I found is the smell outside, so not very much luck in enjoying the park. All the rooms are clean, spacious and equipped with free internet and other normal facilities. It is an Eco-friendly hotel and I was very happy to find also this, but I don't know if they are taking care of the heating system very well, the room was too hot (at least for me). The hotel is in an ideal position if you are in the motorway: very close to the Exit of A22 and A1 Campogalliano, a few minutes from Modena city centre. I made a reservation from my car, and the receptionist was very helpful, so when we arrived, they had our reservation without problems. It has a very nice restaurant, the Osteria Emilia, that I would recommend heartily. Breakfast was a decent one, but nothing to write home about.

It is a comfortable place to visit Modena and the surroundings. The hotel is located 10 km from Modena but without a reliable GPS it is hard to reach it on secondary roads. Very close, however, to the exit of the Bologna-Milano autostrada. The rooms are clean, well lighted. Service is nice. Breakfast is rich and costs you but a 4 Euro extra. Free parking is available. It is a fully-fledged 4 star motel. Better dine at Magnagallo rather than at Osteria Emila.

Spend two nights in Modena. Hotel was pretty nice, very big rooms, excellent beds and decent breakfast. Nice staff and reasonable pricing. Hotel restaurant was surprisingly good, still not too expensive. Lots of parking space available.

As we have been traveling around Italy the all week, we've been staying at different places in several Best Western's. To be honest this hotel remains a very nice one with a lot of commodities and huge rooms, being a perfect fit, specially when you are taking care of your 9 month baby. Indeed, we frankly had an amazing stay. NEVERTHELESS, we decided to have breakfast at the hotel, and here came the bad experience. I NEVER criticize or complain about anything and my comments and notifications are always "above average" or "very good", but today I DO complain about the way the staff treated me as I was serving myself at the buffet. Since the Hotel provides a range of regional products, I decided to have some Ricotta with a slip of "glassed basalmic vinegar". Unfortunately, it seems that I wasn't allowed to have some of this "so special" vinegar, and the waitress came to tell me that it was not possible and if I wanted I could have some "regular" balsamic vinegar. Of course, she took the bottle back from my hands... PERHAPS this is the way the staff is treating their clients. Is there any Manager/Franchiser/General Manager who is currently aware of these "monkey behaviors"? In any case, I will never ask for a refund, but it is obvious that we would never be back. Seems that someone needs to act to "rectify" some BIG mistakes. If you consider your clients being part of a sub-category consumers, do not pretend to be a 4 star hotel or equivalent. Thumbs down

About the incident in breakfast room, we really apologise for the waitress behavior. Unfortunately a bottle of precious and old balsamic vinegar, normally used on the particular receipts for lunch and dinner, remained in dining room. The balsamic vinegar for the breakfast is usually available on the breakfast buffet , but it's a different type. We refret that the waitress has not explained this in proper manners , and we have reproved her. Finally I am sorry that, you don't enjoy your stay, for the other aspects, generally pleasant. I was on the top floor in a room that would probably be considered small for a couple, but it was fine for one. Furnishings (sheets, towels, etc.) were all top quality and the service was good. Breakfast was added for a reasonable cost and was the typical European breakfast. Location was very convenient to the train station and just a 5-10 minute walk to the center of town or the Ferrari museum. AC good, shower with good water pressure. I'd stay here again.

Hotel was excellent. Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, modern décor and clean. Breakfast was also excellent with many choices. A bit out of the way but easily accessible to autostrada and free parking.

One night stopover, on an industrial eastate, good parking, very nice refurbished rooms to a very high standard, tea and coffee making facilities, very good reataurant and reasonably priced, small fitness room too.

We stayed at the Best Western Modena District prior to our visit to the Ferrari-Pavarotti Land tours. This is a very comfortable hotel--clean/nice rooms, very nice service, and an AWESOME restaurant (Osteria Emilia). It had been a long day of traveling and while I don't normally advocate eating in the hotel--I would definitely make an exception here. We tried a number of dishes and they were all fantastic. Service was relaxed and friendly, and they have a 150+ wine selection and provided good advice on picking the right one for our meal. All in all--a great value and easy way to spend an evening.

I was overwhelmed by the Service, especially how the stuff cared for our kids on the reception and in the restaurant. Free drawing books for the kids were more than welcomed, as well as the bug spray at the restaurant to keep the mosquitos away. This service gets a 100 from a 100 Points. - Great Job !
