This is a good motel in the Camarillo area if you need a place to sleep. Nothing fancy, but it met our needs and was in a great location just off the freeway near food, gas, and shopping. The room itself was very spacious but did look like it hadn't been decorated since the early '80s. Still, it was very big and comfortable. Wi-fi access was solid. AC was terrific. There was also a whirlpool bathtub in our room that was very relaxing. The main reason I'm giving this an average review is the water pressure was unacceptable as far as the toilet went. There was hardly any suction at all when we flushed it, and it immediately became clogged, which was inconvenient. But the guy who came to fix it had a great attitude and fixed it quickly. I also felt the breakfast selection was very lacking and felt a bit cheap, and the woman stationed there barely acknowledged us. What can I say? It's just an average motel. It's great if you need a place to lay your head. And we used our Best Western Rewards points, so our stay was free. If you just need a serviceable place to stay the night, this place does the trick. Just don't expect anything particularly fancy.
No Clerk! Waited with other guests for at least a 1/2 hour til she returned. This was around 8:30 at night. Then argued with her about ADA room that I ordered. Premise was dark and poorly lit. This is a horrible example for Best Western Brand! Never ever again! I'd like TRIPLE POINTS! Steven Crouch USCG
This hotel is a little hidden from the road but glad we stayed here. The room was huge, clean and very quiet. The breakfast across the parking lot was average but the attendant there was so friendly and we had a great conversation with her. Close to a lot of restaurant options and easy on/off freeway access.
The staff , location and overall experience with Sure Stay was Excellent . The rooms were very clean and fresh. The continental breakfast was fully stocked and an overseer was there to assist us for any needs
Nice older hotel close to the freeway and within walking distance of a lot of dinning options. The noise from the freeway was hardly noticable, it was very quiet at night. The Office Manager Jason was super friendly and very thoughtful in selecting a room that would accomodate our family of 5 including young kids - he put us in a room where our loud noise would not disturb other travelers :). Would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers in the area
We had to stay in Camarillo after shopping because of the tropical storms. Sure stay was the right option price-wise. Very comfortable and the staff was very helpful. The floor under the beds was a little dirty (we had to move the beds) but otherwise, it was great.
Great location - close to restaurants and shopping. Hotel was clean and our room was spacious and included a refrigerator and microwave. Loved the bathroom counter space. We enjoyed their continental breakfast, Jennifer was great at helping us heat our food and replenishing food as needed.
This is one of the better hotels that Best Western has in their chain. I recommend to anyone with or without a dog to give this hotel a chance. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The premises is clean and there's an area for dogs to relieve them self along with poop bags if you forgotten yours. The breakfast in the morning is good. Coffee is very good and the food that is provided will get you through your early morning.
We had a pet friendly room for an extra $30 fee. The room was clean and everything was functional. However, the room itself could use some updating. Fresh paint and new furniture would certainly help.
Rooms smell horrible. Tried to change another room and that one smelled even worse. All hotels booked up this weekend so I'm stuck in a smelly room. Rooms have been renovated but still look dated. Microwave is old and dingy. This place is a very old and not what I expected of a best western. This is one of the worse best westerns ever. A motel 6 is way better than this hotel. So lessened learned for me. I need to read more of TripAdvisor's reviews before booking.
When we arrive we were concerned by the age of the motel and location. Check-in was seamless and the room exceed our expectations when we opened the door. Before bed we noticed the kids feet were black. We bathed the kids but their feet were black again right after. This was only a one night stay and before we left we stripped the beds (we always do to ensure nothing gets left behind) and found black specks under the mattress pad. Housekeeping came and said it was not from pests but it was dirt. She stated they do not wash the mattress pads between guests and they don't look under them (the pads are not fitted and slide when you strip the bed). I spoke to the front desk during check-out about the issues. The gentleman stated, again, that the mattress pads are not washed between guests. I asked him how often they are washed and he stated "when we clean the rooms." I asked him to clarify. He then informed me that only basic tasks are performed between guests, the rooms were cleaned once a month and thoroughly cleaned every other month. He went on to state that every six months everything is removed from the rooms to detail clean. I then brought up the filthy floors and his excuse was it happens right after they clean due to their proximity to the freeway. I am not at all pleased with the condition of the room. We still do not know what was under the mattress cover but we took pictures. We believe it is pest related but the hotel insisted it could not be since all areas of the hotel are treated by an exterminator every six months.
Room was very spacious and clean. Continental breakfast had good options. Would definitely stay here again. In a good neighborhood with grocery store, restaurant and fast food options around the corner.
Hotel was over priced. Quaint, small, two-story hotel juxtaposed to 101 FWY, restaurants, shops, stores and a movie theater. Breakfast and house cleaning was lacking. There was a small pool. No charge for parking. Stairs no elevator.
This was my second stay at this hotel. The staff is great, the location is ok, but the price was ridiculous for a hotel that is a bit out of the way. One would think that for over $200 a night, they could at least provide a breakfast that adults might like. Simple pre-packaged cereals, pre-packaged danish, but only two verities, and microwaved sausage/pancakes on a stick does not a breakfast make.
This hotel had a basic appearance of cleanliness in the rooms but it smelled so awful, that is seems doubtful. I was with family and we had four rooms and all of them smelled terrible. We actually bought Febreze and sprayed and it still smelled bad. I knew we were in trouble when checking in, it looked like the lobby furniture and been pulled out of the city dump.
Top notch service by the entire staff !! Each and every member went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome. Our group was 50 deep and nothing but compliments for all. From booking our rooms facing the pool so the parents could keep a better eye on the kids to assisting us pull or a surprise ice cream social surprise - Thank you ALL
I will never stay here again the worst executive suite my ass! It claims to have a whirlpool in the suite but instead it's s regular size bathtub a kid can only fit. Ridiculously expensive and a waste of money.
One night stay. Arrived around 7:45pm after a 5-1/2 hour drive from San Mateo. Desk clerk was very friendly. Location is adjacent to 101 freeway, but there were some sketchy people in the rear parking area near my room. Room was large and clean . . . unlike some of the SureStay properties I have been in in the past 18 months. This is an older property but rooms have been updated. Not sure where the breakfast area actually was, so I didn't get any before I left the next morning.
The desk manager, Jason, was friendly and caring. He made sure I felt secure and comfortable . I had a very clean large room at a great price. That they accommodate pets was a big plus. There is a small area to walk your dog and it is supplied with a poop station on the outside but it is small. The surrounding planting around the hotel and parking lot were sufficient to comfortably walk my dog. I'll be staying here again.
The drapes in our room were torn and dusty. After a long drive and a late evening, I opened the hide-a-bed! The linens had not been changed from the previous room occupant. The following day I reported the dirty, torn drapes and unchanged linens to the front desk, left my business card and asked that the manager call me. Never received a call.
Great location with shopping centers all around. Rooms were decent, breakfast was okay but overall experience was great. Staff was very helpful and courteous from check in to check out. Will definitely recommend to family & friends if in the area.
The room was comfortable. The staff was nice and helpful. They were very dog friendly. Marie Callenders right across the street. Had to go pick up the free breakfast in an adjacent building. Pretty standard items, danish, fruit, juice, etc. Room key cards did not work, had to go back to lobby to get them fixed.
Nothing fancy and a little dated, but a large room with 2 queen beds, extremely clean with a mini fridge and microwave. Very friendly staff and great grab and go breakfast options. Close to shopping, restaurants and freeway. Will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.
The hotel did the job but for the price it needs some upgrades. Room was large. Had fridge and microwave which were nice. Coffee pot and a good variety of coffee. It was kind of loud people moving around a lot. Bed was ok but pillows were not good. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was dark and smelled musty/smoked in. The parking was ok but tight. The location was difficult to find. The staff was ok and did accommodate one of my requests. The odor in the room was so unpleasant that we departed with out stayin* the night
I loved the location of the hotel. Near the freeway and a large shopping center (try Noah's Bagels). I felt safe walking alone in the shopping center and neighborhood. The room was clean, internet worked and the staff promptly handled a call about loud music in the room next to us.
The rooms were old, had a very old smell. There was a huge hole cut out of one of the walls that was just covered by a piece of metal that fell off right next to my kids while they slept. The carpets are stained and crusty. Just not a place I'd take my family. They had the “Covid” breakfast which was nothing more than muffins and juice.
The hotel was quiet, moderately clean and the staff were friendly. My concerns were in the details. There was visable darkness in the seams of the sinks. Indicating possible mold. Also there were cracks and water damage in the ceiling. Looks like there was a leak previously. There were also spider webs in the corners of the windows and stains on the curtains from previous visitors. Lastly on the website for the suite I reserved it's supposed to come with two tvs. It didn't. We did receive a small discount as a result.
Wonderful staff beautiful location quiet and the view of the freeway was nice and love the stores around the area helpful and close for family needs. Would definitely recommend my stay to any of my friends and family
This SureStay is very neat and handsome, if somewhat simple and stark, but our room was most comfortable and spacious. It's in a great location, near lots of shops and restaurants. Staff were most friendly and helpful. For the price, it's a great experience.
Had a problem with the house and needed a quick one night stay. Called ahead to see pet policy (best locally) and made a reservation online. Nice discount using AAA. Check in was simple and staff was very personable. Website states pool is closed & limited breakfast options due to Covid. Cereal, milk and banana + danish grab bag was fine by me. Will be back if I need a staycation.
Nothing seriously wrong with my stay, just lackluster all the way around. I have stayed at this property many many times in the past, and this was my least favorite visit so far. Due to Covid, no pool or hot tub. Due to Covid, only a small box of cereal, a mini carton of milk, and an OJ for breakfast handed to me under the plexiglass at the front desk. The 2 front desk clerks were very young and completely disengaged. Made me really miss the awesome old crew of employees at this hotel. Nothing about this stay makes me want to stay here again. I know they recently merged (?) and became SureStay, but so far I would say things have changed, and not for the better. Please, for the love of God, at least hire some really outgoing and friendly front desk clerks to make up for everything else that you cannot control due to Covid. I will most likely choose another hotel for my next visit to the Camarillo area.
IMHO, THE most important amenity in a motel room is the mattress. I Paid $528 to sleep on the worst mattress ever. I got, "Have a nice day" when I mentioned it when checking out. It's not like they didn't know. They were unloading new ones as I was leaving. I can't comment on anything else as this memory overshadowed any positive moments that might have taken place. They are almost as bad as Days Inn across the street.
We only stay one night, the room was big, the bed was good. The heater was working great, room was good for the price. the breakfast was OK to star the day. Hotel look good from the outside and the rooms also they look good too,
The breakfast is always good. Lots of variety of fresh fruit. The rooms are large and clean and quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the parking is free. I always try to stay at a Best Western whenever possible.
The room was uninviting and frankly ugly. The walls all painted a dark tobacco color. So ugly and dark. The beds were uncomfortable. The floor was a wood-like laminate. It was obvious the flooring was laid over an uneven surface. The placement of the bathroom door makes the vanity area and bathroom entry awkward. There was only one sink.
This is typical of the majority of Best Westerns - clean rooms, including fridge/microwave, large beds and basic toiletries. It's far enough from the freeway so that road noise wasn't a problem. The only negative is that also like the majority of Best Westerns breakfast consists of sugary cereals/bread/waffles. There's no cooked options of eggs/bacon which would be nice and fresh fruit/yoghurt is limited - though at least there was some. Good to stay at for the night.
I stay at this Best Western often when we travel through California. It is always nice, and the employees go out of their way to help guests. The breakfast lady is very sweet. There are many stores and restaurants nearby.
I'm never disappointed with my stays at Best Western. I always put my dog show judges at Best Western and in the last 15 years I've never had anything but good comments from them. It's also important that they are dog friendly.
It's a nice hotel, clean, Staff is wonderful. We were treated very nicely by all staff. Liked that they were attentive and helpful when needed. Loved that they had video surveillance of the entire property. This is a huge plus to our family since we had a break-in at last hotel stay and had items taken.
I recommend this hotel because it was clean and the staff was warm and friendly! This is the first time in awhile since I stayed in a room that Was without issues with it and this place was also freeway accessible as well!
Stayed one night in this hotel after an all-day shopping at the Camarillo premium outlet all day. The room is clean and spacious, with new hardwood floor. The front desk staff is extremely nice and helpful. There is no elevator, though. So if you have a lot of luggage like us, be sure to ask for a room on the first floor.
This is one of the nicer Best Westerns. I stayed in room #125 and the decor and attention to detail was very nice. There are great touches like labels on the AC unit that redirect you to the wall thermostat and a label on the doorbell in the bathroom just to let you know what the wall-mounted device is. The hardwood floors also prevent germs from accumulating in carpet. The tea and coffee maker and hairdryer are conveniently placed without taking up alot of space. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave. My mother and I were very happy with our stay and with the quality of the breakfast and breakfast service provided. We are very grateful that there are still hotels where you can receive so much for your money. What a great value. Thank You, Best Western!!
We were in town for a wedding. We just needed a place to sleep and get ready for the wedding activities. We booked this hotel mainly for the price. It was a great property for the price. The pool area is kinda small but nice. Everything was clean. We would recommend this motel for a quick stay.
The tubs each have whirlpool jets & they work great. The room is huge. The parking was easy & close to the door. The breakfast was open early so i could get something to eat before work. The sheets were clean&fresh.
I have stayed here at least 40 times and always rest well. the staff is extremely helpfulThe quiet is great for catching up on sleep. Facilities are always clean. Checking in and out is easy-- be sure to reserve in advance though.
Only use Best Western hotels!! They are always clean, friendly, well taken care of and great to stay at! We know we can depend on the room being ready for us, and meets all our needs. Breakfasts are plentiful with many choices!!
My son and I stayed at this hotel for a championship swim meet. We stay at hotels maybe 4-5x a year for meets. This was BY FAR the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. How did It get good reviews? The entire 4 days my son joked that Pennywise the clown from the movie IT lived at this hotel because it was so spooky and DARK! DO NOT STAY in room 109! It is next to the cleaning persons room and the cloths dryer goes from 730a THRU 4p the lint and smoke comes in under door and smell and noise are overwhelming! The squeal of dryer LOUD. The smell of WET DOG constant even w AC on. Now the room was larger than normal room and the paint and fixtures fairly new but the BEDS are well over 25yrs old! All coil springs stick u while u sleep and they creak and bounce when u move at night. The WORST nights sleep at a hotel EVER! Spiders in the ceiling corner and on bed. Good water pressure, easy car/parking access (I was scared my old car would be stolen at night thou). Good WiFi, very nice checkin guy. AC worked well. Pool was kinda clean but cold. Mini fridge did not work at all unless u like warm water or drinks. WILL NEVER stay at a Best western again though ... learned my lesson, we'll stick to Marriott.
Great restaurants and grills and clubs along with fast food restaurant choices, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. Everything you could possibly need within the four corners next to this hotel.... and Marie Calendars right across the street from the hotel! At the beds were so comfortable!!!!
This in somewhat dated. The room was quite spacious and with noticeably limited furnishings. The bed was comfortable and fresh. The room was clean with no bad smells. I had a very good night sleep. The small drawback was the room for breakfast, this room was small and cramp. Nevertheless, this hotel is a good place to stop for a quiet night,
I always enjoy my stay there & the rooms are always super clean.. Breakfast is great nd the staff is always so friendly .. Monica always goes out of her way to accommodate us be helpful and kind with her happy personality..
The rooms are clean and the street level rooms are pet friendly with hardwood floors. This hotel is very close to the Outlet stores, quality restaurants featuring Italian cuisine, American - Steaks and Ribs, Seafoof Restaurants, family dining, and more. They also offer food delivery. The Staff is very accommodating and it feels safe when staying there for walking the dogs through the community or on the hotel property. It's the place to stay when in the Camarillo area. Also, major banks are very nearby.
Room was clean and spacious. Good high speed internet. Quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and fast. Breakfast was good, though not extensive. Still, a great value for the price. Have stayed here twice before and plan on staying again.
This place is hard to find, run down, and in a bad area. The pictures and Best Western name are misleading. We did not feel safe or comfortable here so we stayed at the Hampton Inn down the street which is much nicer and similarly priced.
Very bad oder in room after running water in sink, mold under rim of sink, general oder in room when first walked in, the sign is almost non existent used Google maps to find it and still passed it twice, very dark, steer clear of this place.
Booked two rooms and both had ants on vanity and bathroom counter tops. We informed the person at the office and they offered to provide us with a can of toxic bug killer spray. It was late and we just wanted to go to sleep, so we didn't spray toxic bug killer, nor did we unpack suitcases because we didn't know how many more ants we would find in the morning. We informed the desk staff the night we checked in about ants and again when we checked out. We also completed the survey that was emailed to me by the hotel and the general manager sent a general email reply to apologize for not exceeding expectations; however, there was no mention of the ants or compensation for having to live with ants and out of our suitcases for two days. I put nothing on the vanity or bathroom counter tops due to ants being present and family in the second room I booked did not put anything on their countertops either to ensure we did not end up with ants in our luggage.
I am traveling with my family and I have a baby. The room was quiet, with good Wi-Fi, enough usb for charge my electronics and good beds for sleep. But what I like the most was the people that work there, from the front desk to the breakfast. They were so lovely, giving us a warm reception.I do recommend!
I stayed here on a Wednesday night for a work event at CSU Channel Islands. The gentleman that checked me in was quick and provided all the details I needed regarding breakfast, leaving my keys in my room to checkout, where to park, etc. My room was VERY clean (stayed in room 210). The location is near lots of places to eat. If you are willing to drive 5 miles it's close to an outdoor outlet mall, Target, etc. I didn't even have to take the freeway to CSUCI the next morning. The lady who was staffing the breakfast room did a wonderful job. She ensured that the food was always filled and the counters and tables were always cleaned and not cluttered with trash or spills. She was super sweet and friendly. Overall I was impressed with the cleanliness, location, and customer service for the price I paid (which was only $122 total with AAA discount). I stayed at the Days Inn across the street in the past and this was much better. I always feel safe and at home at Best Westerns.
The staff is always welcoming and friendly. They do their best to accommodate our requests. We watched a movie in our room and the front desk provided hot chocolate for the kids. The breakfast options are great! There is something for each member of the family. This location is near many restaurants and grocery stores.
We stayed 1 night while passing through the area. This is a clean, quiet hotel and the check in experience was fast and easy. The gentleman checking us in was very helpful and informative and it was an awesome check in experience. Breakfast was good and the beds comfortable and clean. Would stay again if in the area.
The staff here takes care of me and I appreciate all they do. I have stayed at this hotel many times and always come back when in town. Breakfast is good when I have the time to stop in. The staff accomodates me with a nice quiet room on every reservation. Thank you staff.
I was a little worried by the exterior condition of the hotel when we pulled in, but upon going into my room - I was very pleased. The rooms are updated, clean and modern. It was a comfortable stay and I will definitely stay here again. I saw a lot of pets here, so they are definitely dog friendly and the room rate is fair. Nice location right off of the fwy in close proximity to beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, and neighboring cities of Oxnard, Ventura, and Port Hueneme.
The rooms feature nice beds with newly decorated rooms, vanties, bathrooms with fresh tiling, fully repainted with high tech features such as USB ports and a high quality LCD TV with good coverage through Spectrum cable.
Hotel was decent. Not a bad place to stay for one night. Service upon arrival wasn't great but other than that everyone else we came incontact with was friendly. Had an issue with the room having ants all on counters by restroom. I honestly wouldn't stay here again.
Great value, great staff, great amenities! Continental breakfast had alot to offer. Close proxomity to a number of retail stores and, of course, the outlets. Would definitely recommend if staying near the Oxnard/Camarillo areas.
Recently remodeled and upgraded. Multiple USB charging ports and power outlets available. Excellent in room wifi that allows for multiple devices to be connected. Video streaming was uninterrupted. I have never stayed at a location that had so many place to eat in close proximity. From high end restaurants to drive thru. Comfort and value here, highly recommend staying at Best Western Camarillo Inn.
Room quality was very poor and not at all as depicted in photos on the website. Evidence of poor standard and unfinished painting on room door. Not a great location near a small local shopping centre. Some staff in breakfast room not very attentive to the needs of their clients.
this is my favorite place when i need to recharge or mini vaca. I never have any complaints from the staff to the room and location i dont have any complaints there is a shopping center within walking distance with a starbucks ralphs ect and a free trolley close by u can pick up and it takes you to target the outlets the metro and other plazas..great job Jason and staff
We have a 2 queen bed room. It is nice and comfortable. The doors to the guest rooms are exterior. Flooring is hardwood laminate which I prefer to carpet (much cleaner). Bedding is nice. There is a small fridge and microwave. Room is large. Breakfast is standard (no hot offerings). Waffles, cereal, pastries... the hotel is near a freeway but I could not hear it from the room. The area appears safe. I would stay here again
We stayed at Camarillo because we had to take a boat from Ventura to Santa Cruz Island. The staff is friendly and helpful. We booked Best Western Camarillo at Booking.com. The front desk couldn't find our reservation. We had to show our reservation document. They managed the room for us. The room was good. The location is acceptable. The breakfast is acceptable. The WIFI was fast. We had dinner at Panda Express and shopped food at Walmart.
We have stayed here many, many times over the past 10 years. It is a nice clean Best Western with the usual standard breakfast items. They are almost done remodeling and has turned out very nice. It is very close to lots of restaurants and outlet shopping and easy access from the freeway
The 101 freeway is nearby, but we could not hear it from our room - pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable, with recently updated furnishings. The staff was nice and the continental breakfast was adequate.
This BW is just off the 101 freeway across from the outlet mall. It is currently undergoing renovations, but that did not cause any problems. The front desk was up front and informed me that the renovations would be going on and that the pool would be drained the next day. However, the hotel was very quiet. My room was recently renovated and the hotel is older but nicely decorated and equipped with a microwave and fridge. I loved the bedding here. The breakfast is fairly typical of what you would find in a mid-range hotel or BW but it was well stocked and clean. Waffles, cereal, yogurt, juice and coffee, sweet breads, toast, sausage biscuits, fruit... something for everyone. There is a Marie Callende's restaurant across the street and a small shopping center a block away with small mom and pop restaurants, fast food and other retail stores.
We wanted a comparatively inexpensive place stay that included free breakfast and was close to highway 101, so we did not have high expectations. This Best Western is a basic, old-style motel, but it is clean, well-maintained, and the staff is very friendly. Our room had recently been up-dated. The buffet breakfast had more items than we had expected (everything fresh). Overall - good value (for that area).
Booked this hotel through the company's travel site. My last work trip involved the Best Western in Lemoore, CA. It was a really nice hotel so I thought I'd try the Best Western in Camarillo. While the exterior isn't quite as nice as the Lemoore hotel, the interior was nice and it served its purpose just fine. Rooms were clean, water pressure was good, and the TV had the most channels I'd ever seen at a hotel. Hotel breakfast was your standard “continental” fare, but that's what I normally have for breakfast, so I didn't care (and it was actually quite good). Bed was ok, but nothing to write home about. Overall, it's a good, quiet hotel. I'll be staying here again on my next work trip to Ventura County.
Camarillo does not have much to offer as a vacation spot - we stayed as we were attending The Cavalia cirque de soleil show. Hotel needs a refresh on the outside and is currently renovating their rooms. Very basic no frills and well priced. Quiet on the non highway side. Free breakfast as well and microwave and fridge in room. Recommend for a short stay.
I recommend this hotel; the staff is Great, Especially the Manager!! It is quiet, clean, comfortable and has a nice breakfast. I always stay here when I'm in town visiting my father. I've checked around and this Is the Best place in Camarillo!!
Difficult to find (bad signage), low lighting outdoor and in room, musty odor in room and from heater.although “under construction” signage very messy appearance in hallways needs upgrading of room furniture and landscaping.
Our room was spacious and clean and provided everything we needed. My only complaint would be that our room was close to the ice machine and people were using it throughout the night and it would wake me up.
We have stayed here many times. It is a nice clean motel. The price they ask is much better than most of the same quality of that area. It is near great shopping and many, many restaurants. They offer the standard usual breakfast. They are undergoing remodeling the rooms now but the noise was not bad at all. The management just needs to re-inspect the rooms when the renovation of each room is complete because small items are missed that need to be addressed.
This hotel was very nice, our room was clean, and comfortable. The continental breakfast had a nice variety of choices. We would definitely book this hotel again when in the area. Easy drive heading north after the long day at Universal Studios with easy access in and out from the freeway.
Good location to attend the Cavalia horse show. New renovation to our room. Recommend adding carpet to the room. The hotel is close to HW- 101 and lots of restaurants. The staff was very accommodating in meeting my request for room location due to a handicap.
Though I had a remodeled room, it was run down and rusty and there were ants in the room - including my bed!! The bed was not new either. The towels were thin and worn and dingy. Just not a place for me to stay again.
We needed a place close to the wedding we were attending. Good locale, quiet rooms, comfortable. But basic, don't expect the same quality you would get for the Best Western at San Simeon that is well into the $500 range for the ocean front rooms. Free breakfast and great service at breakfast awesome! Front office Friday check in was 1/2 hour due to very slow attendant there. Not good after a long drive up from OC.
Nice place to stay. Being remodeled and nice and clean. Right off highway but we did not hear traffic noise. In walking distance to restaurant for dinner as we checked in late. Breakfast was the usual hotel quick breakfast but good selection.
It wasn't a Best Western will bells and whistles. It was an average hotel with an average stay. The Best Western is in a great location next to the outlet malls but the feeling, style of the hotel seemed dated. It is in need of a face life if it wants to get more business.
This hotel was more than we expected - the room we had was very spacious, clean, comfortable, we loved that it had a table and chairs. Very conveniently located. The breakfast does not have hot food but the continental/cold options were very nice, one of the best we've seen thus far at Best Western. Marie Callendars is directly across the street but just 2 minutes away is the mall and great shopping/food options.
I highly recommend this hotel. The service was spectacular and the room was beautifully decorated. I felt like I was home and slept well. The hospitality was the best I've ever had. The service was amazing plus I got to stay with my pup.
Place is undergoing renovations, so perhaps that's why signs for the place are a little difficult to see from the street. Motel is located behind a closed restaurant and other small businesses. Although there are two driveways into the parking lot, they are easily missed due to the small signs.
Great place to stay. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Rooms very clean and beds were sooooo comfortable.Breakfast was better than a lot of hotels who offer continental breakfast. It feels rare to have employees who actually take the time to ask about your needs and don't act as if you are inconveniencing THEM. Cannot say enought about how great the staff was during our stay.
This must be the tenth or more time I've stayed in this Best Western and it was as pleasant as the rest. Very conveniently located just off the freeway, access is great and having a grocery store a block away is a big plus.
Shopping trip to Outlet center, after visiting Santa Barbara. The location of the hotel was good for getting to restaurants and the shopping areas. The hotel was in the middle of being refurbished and we were given a refurbished room
We were on our holiday from New Zealand. We visited Camarillo for the outlet mall. So after a tiring day, we appreciated the great location, friendly staff and excellent a/c. If you're in the area, this was a great place. And they have a swimming pool. Cheers
While visiting family in Camarillo we stayed at the Best Western. The rooms were nice and comfortable, the staff was very friendly, and we really enjoyed the breakfast serverd each morning. They took care of all of our needs while staying. Only complaint was the pillows. To hard for my comfort.
It's currently undergoing renovations, so be sure you get a room that's been renovated already. The second story room (no elevator) was nicely furnished, with comfortable beds. The management was very responsive to a few small issues that were resolved quickly. Breakfast was certainly adequate, with make-it-yourself waffles, using a waffle maker that actually worked! Other options were yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels, etc. Walking distance to Ralph's supermarket, and five minutes te ride to large outlet center. Easy on & off to highway. I would definitely recommend it.
The best place to stay in the Oxnard area, period. Wonderful staff, Breakfast is tops, the rooms comfortable and quiet, easy access to community services and attractions. Management and staff bends over backward to make your stay great.
This Best Western is located a mile or so from the Camarillo outlet mall. Which makes it a great place if you're planning on spending at least a full day shopping. (it takes that long at the outlet) Friendly staff, clean rooms and a decent amount of food for breakfast.
... I've inspected prostitution hotels in Oakland that were better than this. Dirty room, Dirty exterior of hotel, lousy breakfast, rock hard bed, ants in room, not even a container of tissues offered in room. Had to wash the bathroom floor before I used it. Dangerous, falling-apart bedside lamp wiring. They make you sign a lengthy "no barking dogs" policy if you bring your dog, charge you extra even if you leave the place cleaner than when you checked in, then they put you in a room next to construction with hammering and scraping. Who does this? Employees with no brain, that's who.
I'd give it a higher score but there is a remodel going on and there was a lot of noise and at times no water. Rooms were clean though, The exterior was a bit rundown though. Next time I'll check before I stay here
This hotel is very nice; we stayed in a newly renovated room. Very beautiful and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. The free WiFi worked very well. This is is a convenient location--close to places to eat, grocery shop, gas stations, and the freeway.
The room was updated so everything was new and clean. There was an odor which I think comes from the air conditioner. Once air was on you couldn't smell it anymore. Probably needs cleaning. Very limited breakfast items in a small area. Work crew smokes on the stairs, will be better once work is complete.
This was the stay for the final leg of the trip. On my way home from San Francisco. With stops in Paso Robles, San Francisco, Monterey, Sausalito, and Santa Barbara. I have stopped here before and have always had a great time. Being close to the freeway is a plus.
Very clean, convenient and quiet place to stay. Close to the outlet malls. Close to other businesses. It is convenient to the interstate if needing to go to Thousand Oaks or Oxnard or Santa Barbara. Also convenient to go to the beaches and the hills of Camarillo,
I always choose the BW in Camarillo as a place to stay when I'm working in Oxnard. Convenient location and close to all amenities. The staff is always great, especially when I am checking in late! Rooms are clean and comfortable and the internet is solid. I typically get a room facing the freeway and noise is very minimal. Thanks for being a great option when I am away from home.
Our son is now going to school at CI. A parent told me about this BW and we have stayed twice now. Not fancy but clean with breakfast included. Price is Reasonable for what you get. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is located near so many restaurants, stores and fuel stations. Also has easy on and off the highway access. Very helpful staff and they are always courteous. Even has a pool to cool off in. i would recommend this place to anyone.
We stayed one night at the Best Western Camarillo Inn. The room was clean and very quiet. The bed was comfortable. The help was friendly. The breakfast was adequate. It was a nice room at a very good price. We will definitely stay here again, should we visit the area. We had about 2 hours to kill before attending an event and enjoyed walking through a great outlet mall that was very close by and watching the air show that was taking place nearby.
Terrific value - even at any price - with quiet rooms, roomy and very well kept. Excellent Wi-Fi speeds, comfortable beds. No noise transmission from other units. Well designed table and chairs with thoughtfully positioned outlets and Ethernet. Microwave, Frig., two vanities, excellent bath setup. Spacious and very quiet & efficient heat exchange . Night blackout drapes effective. Very hot water. That's how to do it...
Comfortable room with nice beds, bathroom, TV, continental breakfast with boiled eggs, yogurt, waffles and breakfast attendant who kept tables clean. Reasonable price compared to other motels in the area. No elevator but wide, outside stairs, small outdoor pool.
Travel through the area a couple times a year. Happen to come across a good price for this location. Checking in was super easy and was warmly greeted by manager Jason. He knew I wouldn't be there for breakfast and offered me a quick to go bag. While there I needed to book another room for another date and he offered my same rate and did all the work for me. The second time around I was recognized and was given one of the newly refurbished rooms. Service has been great. I would highly recommend.
This is a very clean hotel with a friendly staff. The location is great with the Camarillo Outlets down the street, a local wine bar, plenty of restaurants to choose from, Camarillo Ranch tours and a short drive to the beach areas. A great location for a great price!
When I stay here I can expect a clean quiet room, a better than typical included breakfast, helpful, kind front desk staff and 24 hour coffee in the lobby. It is not fancy, but it isn't expensive either. It is an older hotel, but well maintained. I don't have to worry about getting sleep here which is tremendously important to me. There is also a Trader Joe's and CVS less than a mile away to pick up any last minute essentials or snacks.
My check-in was quick and easy, even though I asked to add an additional night to my stay. I was given the same rate, too. Housekeeping staff did a great job with my room and the breakfast included hard boiled eggs (I'm low carb) so that was very nice.
Service here was great...went above and beyond for us.. The room was large, the shower had great water pressure, everything was very clean, and housekeeping kept the rooms immaculate. Didn't use the pool this time as we were at the beach the majority of the time... The breakfast was typical BW..nothing special. Had a wonderful stay here again...
I am recommending this Hotel to anyone going to Camarillo, California. Besides the points mentioned above, this motel has true elegance and class without any ostentation. Service is experienced and deft and always polite. Rooms on the garden are incredibly quiet. The decor of the hotel has great style. The dining room is a dream--large, comfortable.
Stayed at the Best Western Camarillo 3 nights over a June weekend for a family members wedding. Water was turned off at check-in; was not informed. Once water was turned back on there was no hot water until the next day at 7:00 a.m. The room had been remodeled fairly recently - it still had an older musty smell to it however. The room was clean and the bed was really pretty comfortable. The air conditioning was either very cold or not cold enough. The sink and bath drains were very slow. The breakfast was OK - was clean and had some decent choices; it could get very crowded during mid-morning. The WiFi was decent but there are no USB chargers in room and limited outlets for chargers. The pool / hot tub were small - the grounds were somewhat kept up - few cigarette butts around. I believe there were 'full-time' guests in some of the rooms - people that lived there. Overall to lay your head for a night would be OK - just be careful in the shower once the hot water is available it goes from freezing to scalding in a flash.
The Staff makes this hotel very welcoming. Be patient with Don he is just all business. Clean rooms, and great service for breakfast. Manager, Jason and Manny listen to all your requests! I will be back.
After a long day moving my mother, we could have used a hot shower. The boiler broke so no hot water...during the entire day/night. Carpeting in room dirty. Furniture very worn. Much maintenance needed as soon as possible!
Best Western in Camarillo Ca. Is a wonderful hotel you stay at when your in the area. Wonderful caring staff. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Lots for sights to visit close. The Reagan library is a must see and just a short drive from hotel. The staff does a great job making sure your stay is a pleasant one.
Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable accomodations. Good location. Have stayed here several times in the past and have been very pleased. We will continue to patronize this motel whenever we are in the area.
This was our first stay at a Best Western, I knew when I placed the reservation months ago that this would be a great motel just from the phone interaction. We were greeted warmly my Manny and our first visit to socal made this all the more special. The room and services are excellent.
Was very clean and has everything needed. Close to eating as well. If you are in the go and need some where to rest then here is your spot. Staff was very welcoming and funny. Late night stop for us. God bless
This hotel is a gem. My husband and I stayed here whenever we visited our daughter, a recent graduate of CSU-Channel Islands. What makes this hotel special is its staff. They go out of their way to make their guests feel special. Given the turmoil in the world today, the staff's professionalism, friendliness, helpfulness, and their concern for the welfare of others is indeed refreshing.
We had king bed room but there was still lots of room to over around the room. The room was big and open. A/C works great. Nice dressing area. Lots of parking. Great selection for the breakfast, hot waffles, toast & bagels, fresh fruit and cereal.
We always stay here while visiting family and friends in the area and we stay 3 to 4 times a year. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The price is right for this area. Most other places are very expensive due to the large outlet mall there. The breakfast is good, nothing fancy just the regular stuff: cereal, muffins, bagels, fruit, hard boiled eggs, etc.
We have stayed here twice while visiting in Camarillo. We like the location - close to freeway (but no noise) and right across the street from a Marie Callenders and shopping center. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and staff has been helpful.
Rooms were fully equipped with microwave, small refrigerator, ironing board, and hair dryer. It was larger than most rooms we have stayed in that included a small table/desk and a comfortable reading chair with footstool. Location was excellent with a restaurant across the street, fast food places within walking distance, and a couple of miles from the famous outlet stores.
This was our third Best Western hotel for our 17-day trip. The room was a bit smaller than others and there were less number of towels than the number of people, for the first time in our long trip. The toilet paper was too thin, and almost no amenities. But it was adequate as expected from Best Western hotels. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was good. The lady at the front desk was lovely. There's a Ralphs grocery very close by, with several restaurants, and across the highway the Premium Outlet, Target and more. Enjoyed staying after long drive from Sonoma.
We try an stay at Best Western as much as possible they are always clean and comfortable. Best Western Camarillo Inn meets those standards with a nice clean room. Check in was easy and very helpful with finding a place to eat close by the Inn. Will stay there next time in town.
We try and stay at Best Westerns because of there consistence in comfort and cleanliness. This Best was off the highway so it was quite and roomy. Staff was very helpful at check in and places to eat. Will stay again next time in town.
Close to shopping and very accommodating! We are a golf group had a match to play and we had a great experience! Jason group reservations was very helpful. His staff made it easy to check in and check out!
This Best Western is a bit aged. It is not a Western Plus, so expectation has to be lowered. Rooms are big but the hotel building a bit old. Breakfast place is very small, only a couple of tables. No cold cuts , only have hard boiled egg , among other usuals. If you are staying here to be near outlets, then ok. If one doesn't mind driving, perhaps stay in another town for more modern rooms. There are some restaurants within driving distance from hotel.
Great place to stop. We arrived after dark and were able to locate the hotel easily. The location tomb was quiet even though we were close to the highway. We found a nice cafe close by, as well a friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Our room was spacious and cleaned daily. The employees were very friendly, courteous and helpful. We were working a 3AM start and they provided us with a "grab-n-go" breakfast. They also made sure that the coffee was ready. The breakfast bar was nice and provided waffles, breads, cereal, yogurt, juices, milk, and much more.
I had a good stay at the Camarillo Best Western with my dog which was convenient. Everything was good until I checked out and was unable to get a receipt. This was a problem as it was a business expense to stay there
The Best Western Camarillo Inn had a bit of the “Eeeww” factor for me. We arrived at 9 pm, and driving into the motel was kind of creepy. It is adjacent to the back of a small office park and the offices were all closed at night, so it was really quiet and empty. The motel parking lot was full though. My husband noted that there were a large number of pick up trucks that belonged to construction companies, so I assume construction workers who were employed on local projects were staying there. The reason I booked the Best Western Camarillo Inn was because we were literally only going to be there for twelve hours, just to sleep on a road trip stop over. I had originally booked the Hampton Inn down the street (where we had stayed on our last trip and was super happy), but I could save $20 by staying at the Best Western Camarillo Inn. The Best Western was #2 on Trip Advisor and it is on the same street as the Hampton Inn, so I figured I could not go wrong, right? It was a mistake. I hardly slept. The hotel faces the freeway. I am including a picture from our doorway that shows how close it is. There is no weather stripping or sound proofing around the door, so you can see about a half inch of opening at the bottom, and all the freeway noise also comes in through that opening. It was so loud that it seemed like the cars were driving right next to our room, which isn't far from the truth. I also noticed that the peep hole was one of those old peep holes that someone could look through from the other side, and our beds were right in front of the door, so that weirded me out too. The hotel is old, but the bathrooms have recently been re-done. The towels were extremely thin, and the toilet paper was not good quality and super rough. No tissue box at all. Shampoo was a single little bottle of Pantene shampoo/conditioner, which was fine. The thing that probably grossed me out the most was that there was a pubic hair in the bathtub. Yuck. My husband said the shower head almost fell off when he tried to adjust it for his height. There are old, dusty blinds in the room and curtains as well. To be honest, I don't even know if I've ever seen blinds in a hotel room. The bed comfort was ok, but the pillows were stiff polyester fill and my neck hurt in the morning. The sheets were nice though. They seemed new and clean and crisp. I got up at about 7:15 am the next morning. We had heard all the workmen leaving earlier, and I guess they used a lot of the hot water … because there was not that much left for my shower. I did not turn on the cold water at all and the water never really got hot. Breakfast is served in another building that is part of the office park. I was not expecting much at all after the room experience, but it was actually not bad. There were little Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches in a fridge that you could microwave and hard boiled eggs with shells on them (that I assumed were cooked fresh and not bought at Costco in a plastic container). There were bagels and breads and some cereals, a juice machine, some bananas and oranges, and coffee and tea. The room and tables were clean, and funny enough … several older people staying there seemed to know the lady who tended the Breakfast Room. It was very basic, but better than I thought it would be, and it got us through until lunchtime. So … I guess if you are just sleeping there and your hearing isn't sensitive to loud freeway noise, then you are fine staying there. I would not recommend it for a single woman however. If I could do it over again, I would have spent the extra $20 and stayed at the Hampton Inn down the street on Daily Drive though. The Hampton Inn was recently renovated and the room we had there was huge. The staff at the Hampton Inn was great too. The front desk lady at the Best Western Camarillo Inn was very nice and helpful when we checked in. During the day, the Best Western property did not seem as creepy as when we arrived at night. When deciding whether or not to stay here, just keep in mind that this is an older, very basic motel ... and that the photos on the hotel website are not very truthful.
Room was OK. Stayed because hotel was pet friendly. Room was average, nothing outstanding. A better shower head could have made it a little better. Breakfast was a bust. No scrambled eggs, sausage, etc. Only eggs available was hard boiled. Went to a restaurant for breakfast instead.
Very nice place. Room was clean and big enough. Bed was comfortable and clean. The mattress was enclosed in a zippered mattress pad which was also clean on both beds. I always pull off the sheets and check the bed upon arrival and was happy to find how clean these beds were. The bathroom was also clean. Had an updated flat screen tv and also had a refrigerator and microwave. The only negative to the room was the air conditioning. It was one of those old window units that is either on or off. It cooled very well but to leave it on all night, we would have been cold. So we left the fan on all night which since it wasn't too hot it kept us cool and we didn't hear any noise outside. I would stay there again
Great experience. The Breakfast met the needs. The pool was small, but available. The rooms were more than adequate for our one night stay. The hotel is close to a number of restaurants and the freeway for easy access back on the road. The hotel does have a second floor, but no elevator. The front desk worked to put us in a quiet area of the building.
This was a busy place, but it was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was close to a diverse list of restaurants. The breakfast was of the industrial variety, but it was plentiful. We took advantage of the pool.
My daughter just started school at CSUCI so this is my second stay at this hotel and I will definitely be back! Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is good and staff is friendly! Good location close to outlet centers, and many restaurants.
I stayed at this Bestwestern four years ago when moving our son to CIU his freshmen year. I got an allergic reaction from the mildew (strong smell) then that caused a painful headache. We switched to Hampton Inn for the next visits to see our son but they remodeled so the prices rose so high I decided to give Bestwestern another try since I read they had remodeled. We stay d in Room #117 which has two queen beds (pictures attached) and didn't have a problem. Room smelled and looked clean, bathroom clean. Good breakfast of hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, sausage biscuits, fresh waffles, cereals, oatmeal, yogart, toast, juices and coffee and ice water. Staff is excellent. Will be back again. Plus price is good.
We only stayed a night here, but wished we could of stayed longer, because it was so nice, clean, roomy, and the bed was so comfortable. I stayed at other hotels but could never sleep comfortably, but did here. Thanks.
We had some reservation issues as we booked on line with Priceline.Com. The front desk was great in trying to get the issues resolved. The hotel is a little dated but they are painting and it is an improvement. A nice place to stay for the night. There are plenty of places to eat in the area. They do offer breakfast which was good.
From the moment I checked in Manny was at the front desk, and he is very professional in his job! Not just with me but with other customers as well. He was very welcoming and made me feel relaxed about having my dog. He told me they love pets there so that made me feel good. The whole staff there from housekeeping to the breakfast server was very friendly. The room is a little dated but big enough and has a refrig and microwave and alot of counter space which makes it very nice. Beds were comfortable. And the room was clean. It is always a bonus having a free hot breakfast in the mornings to start your day. Location is just off the fwy and easy to find and did not hear the fwy traffic. It was just a pleasure staying here as it was the last night of a very long 17 days of driving and it made it nice with such a nice staff.
The rooms are ok, location is a plus close to restaurants and outlets, the only bad thing is their jacuzzi the water wasn't clean and it stink. I would probably consider not staying there again, maybe if they had free parking vouchers for the Cowboys training camp
Very clean, very nice generally. Quite cozy. Enough coffee, tea and sugar in the room quite enough for four (unlike some 4-star hotels). Free parking. The breakfast is somewhat weak, but this is the only thing reminding of the actual star level. In all other respects this hotel has achieved a strong 3-star performance level. My wife went as far as to say a 4-star, but in my view this is a bit of overkill. Additionally, it is very convenient if you're in Camarillo to spend time outlet shopping--it is quite close.
Too expensive for what you get. its old, noisy and room smelled like feces. I won't stay here again. The staff were kind and I didnt have a problem with them, I only had a problem with the price of this hotel. I paid $160. So I thought it would be something better which I believe is way over priced for this place.
This is a wonderful, cozy, affordable hotel. The staff is friendly and they go the extra mile to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. It's a great choice for travelers, especially for people who are visiting CSU-CI .
Upon checking in, I found the receptionist not very helpful, though he was efficient; I had to ask where the room (I only got the room number) is and where/when is breakfast. I found the shortcut from the lobby to our room by accident when the room key stopped working. The room (two queen beds) we stayed was spacious and the air conditioning worked great albeit noisy. The room set up was great so that I (we?) could spread out our sundries/toiletries and food/drinks on the table and counter. There was even an ottoman that could be used as a third chair. The room was large enough and the table and the chairs are comfy enough to actually enjoy eating dinner in the room. There is a microwave, a refrigerator and a coffee maker in the room. Ralph's grocery store, Marie Callender's restaurant, Starbuck's and other bakeries and eateries are nearby. WiFi was free but very slow; ended up using own cellular data (tears) and there is no business center (one community use computer in the lobby only). We wanted to stay in Oxnard for a business meeting the next day but this place (address is in Camarillo) was close enough. The hotel itself is good but for business travelers, unreliable WiFi could be a deal breaker here.
Great spot, easy-to-find location with attentive staff, clean pool, and comfortable room. Not a luxury accomodation, but great overnight stop for restful sleep with many restaurants and shops nearby. Highly recommend when traveling through the area.
Stayed here for 2 nights so we can shop till we drop at the nearby Camarillo outlets. Warning: no lifts to the second floor so if you have luggage, ask for a ground floor room. The only Plus: across Camarillo Premium Outlet Cons: 1) noise from upstairs and the cleaners parked right infront of our door in the morning with their work table chatting away while cleaning the other rooms (fortunately the aircon is so loud that it drowns them somehow). But I found this very uncourteous when they know people are still sleeping in the other rooms. 2) breakfast was terrible. The only hot food came from the waffle maker and bread toaster and the Asian lady managing the tiny breakfast room was quite rude. Soon as 10am came, she closed the door and started to put away the milk, food, bread, etc while we were still inside! We felt that we were a nuisance to her so we left quickly and never returned even though we still had a couple of free bfast days. She needs some serious customer service training. 3) old motel, looks unappealing esp at night
Very well kept property with lots of room; everything worked well: TV, bath, black-out drapes, AC, great beds, seating was plentiful and all in excellent condition. Along with gell people & sumptuous breakfast, what's not to love?
We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast had good variety and the lady attendant was very helpful. This hotel was very convienent to the freeway, shops and restaurants. For a small daily fee we were able to bring our dog. The only improvement I can think of is turning up the temp on the hot tub, it was warm but not hot.
I spent the night here while traveling. I asked for a quiet room and got a large room on the first floor with no freeway noise. The room was larger than most motels, with table, chairs, comfortable bed, good AC, and only steps from my car. I liked the refrigerator. Plenty of food choices nearby.
This hidden-away hotel in Camarillo is marvelously quiet and comfortable, and that is not the case in nearby-venues. I could go here just to catch up on sleep. The staff has always been extremely helpful, whether I need to come in late or early, need some extra supply, or need to navigate the computer. For busy travel periods, reserve early.
The room had a refrigerator and microwave; I like that! Lots of TV channels and free parking. Easy off and onto the freeway. Comfortable beds. This hotel had Just what I needed to relax before a stressful day at work.
My husband and I stayed here while traveling to LA area to see our daughter. It's an older hotel which has had a little updating. We chose it because it is pet friendly. The room was large and clean, but there were some stains on a chair which should be removed. The bed was not super comfortable although adequate. The pool was great, just the right temperature for an evening swim. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered a lot of choices, including waffles, yogurt, and oatmeal. They were working on the outside which definitely needed it. Overall, I would stay again if the price was right and I was in need of a pet friendly place.
We are creatures of habit and always choose Best Western when traveling domestically. We were again very satisfied with the Best Western in Camarillo, CA. The room we were assigned was pleasantly much larger than we expected. The cleanliness and room accoutrements were at Best Western standards of excellence. We chose this location for its proximity to Ventura as this was only a 10 minute freeway ride away. I would recommend this hotel to all.
Rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast room was way too small, had to take our breakfast back to our room. The breakfast bar had a nice variety to choose from. Traveling on a family vacation. We arrived very late at night so I don't even know if they had a pool.
Came for a wedding. Room was very comfotable and even though it is next to the U.S.101, was very quiet. A/C was great because it was very warm. No eggs or meat available for the breakfast so we just walked to near by Marie Calenders. We go to Best Western for the room and not the breakfast. Would stay here again.
Overall, the Best western Camarillo Inn exceeded my expectations. The front office staff was pleasant, our room was a corner room, the room was huge, and the pool was clean. We felt safe on the property and the location is near almost everywhere we needed to go. We skipped the continental breakfast as there was not much to choose from. However, the room and the pool make up for that. We would definitely stay here again!
Stayed here for 4 nights as it was centrally located to the beaches and Thousand Oaks.. Was very nice, clean, and the staff was very nice. The pool was a bit small, but nice. We had it to ourselves most of the trip... Beds were very comfortable.. Room was kept very clean by Housekeeping. I am one of those who tips.... There are all kinds of restaurants and shopping nearby.. Right across the street from Marie Calendars. We had a very nice stay...
When my wife, dog and I arrived at this property I wasn't entirely pleased. From the outside it looked somewhat tired and in need of attention. The staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms are clearly remodeled and far better than the outward appearance would indicate. It was a great night's stay for a good price.
I stayed at the Camarillo Best Western for four nights in June of 2016. I attended a power supply workshop that is a short walk down Daily drive so the Best Western location was perfect. The hotel is older and could use a little sprucing up, but it is in fine shape. If you appreciate value like I do, this hotel comes close to a five star rating (it is easy to be shiny new when you charge twice the rate). The positives were: -Very friendly service from everyone talked to (front desk, breakfast area) -Great shower (high shower head with lots of water pressure) -Breakfast waffles and sausage sandwiches -Decent size TV with HDMI input on the side and easy to switch to that input -There are restaurants and a grocery store very close by -Microwave and refrigerator in room -Wifi included Negatives: -Room smelled a little musty at first, but not bad -Could be updated a little more
The hotel has nice bedding and the rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed while touring Cal. State Channel Islands. We didn't realize we'd left a lap top in the room. I called hotel later that afternoon and they were holding it for me. I was very relieved and appreciative of the great service.
Best Western is recommended for a great stay. Quiet, clean with a very helpful staff. Breakfast is very good too. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Near the freeway, but no noise from it. Nearby shops and restaurants are within walking distance. What more can you ask for?
I stay here often while working with horses. it is my favorite place for catching up on sleep- wonderfully comfortable and quiet. The staff has always been helpful, even with last minute reservation needs, though they are often booked. Call early.
The room was clean and big enough for my nieces (4&2) to run around. Microwave and hair dryer are provided. The breakfast was delightful, I always love a simple breakfast with toast, cornflakes, coffee and juices. They also provide bananas apples, yogurt, boiled eggs, muffins, waffles (make your own), and lots options of teas (love it love it!!). The front office guy was helpful, turned out to also waited on breakfast. He was nice and helpful too on breakfast. Overall this hotel was excellent! If i ever go to camarillo again, this will be my number one choice.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located to the Camarillo Outlet Mall and CSUCI. The front desk staff was friendly. We stayed in a second floor room that faced away from the freeway so it was probably one of the more quiet rooms. Coffee is offered all day long in the lobby. They have a breakfast room where they serve yogurt, cereals, muffins and various bagels and breads, hard boiled eggs, Jimmy Dean breakfast bisquits, and waffles made to order with lots of different things to put on them. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It is not the Ritz, it's in need of a little refurbishing, but it will do in a pinch.
Overall, the hotel is nice. It had plenty of room, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good. The only problem was that the hotel was located on a busy street (at least when I stayed there). Because it was on a blind corner, it got a little tricky getting out. The cars barreled down pretty fast around that corner, so I would advise people to be careful getting out.
A good price in a good location. Close to shopping, restaurants and points of interest. Easy on and off Hwy 101 and we had no highway noise in our location. The rooms are a little dated, but slated for a re-do soon I am told. Staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. Good internet and it's nice to have a refrigerator/ microwave available. The breakfast is fresh and well maintained, but got boring fast. There are enough restaurants and grocery stores to supplement that for a longer stay. I was pleased and would stay there again, as well as, recommend to friends.
It's hard not to keep coming back to a place that treats you so well! The rates are always fair, the location is very convenient, the front desk staff is always friendly, and the rooms are spotless. I mean spotless! Everyone who works here does their job and does it well. You always see people cleaning and landscaping and working away, unlike so many places where the employees have zero pride in their job or place of employment. The free breakfast is always a hit and now they've added two waffle makers - YAY! The guy who works the breakfast room, runs his tail off to keep it stocked and clean even on super busy weekend mornings with 8 million crazy kids there for soccer tournaments. I never seem to have time to try out the pool but it is always clean and kept up. I love this hotel and will continue to praise it and stay here on my visits to the Ventura County area. Keep up the good work everyone!
I have stayed at this hotel for many years, the reason being I LIKE IT. It is good to look at,friendly, clean and quiet. It is close to restaurants, and very very close to SHOPPING. If it's beaches and the sea you want they are just 20 minutes away.
Staff very helpful. Location of propery close to CSU Channel Islands. Great for school visits. Conitinental breakfast (boiled eggs, made to order waffles, oatmeal, yogurt and juice) just enough variety to start the day.
I stay in Ventura County several times a year and this is my favorite place to stay. It is by far the friendliest and quietest near Camarillo. I sleep well there and get a lot of work done. Staff is always helpful.
Our room was clean with lots of room. We even had a jacuzzi but didn't use it. We were close to the freeway but didn't hear any traffic. I always check for mites in the mattress or in the drawers. Our room didn't have any. Yes, I'd stay there again. I gave it a good rating because the room was good, not great. The front counter staff is great.
We've stayed at this hotel when we visit family in the area. I prefer the location of this hotel then the other ones in nearby cities. It's a lot quieter and feels safer. The staff went above and beyond to what we expected. We were going to a family gathering on Saturday and a wedding on Sunday and they allowed us to check in early and check out late on the following day. Lifesavers!!! We will definitely stay there again.
the best western was a simple hotel in furnishings and decor, but had everything you would need: TV with lots of channels, large fridge, microwave, large room and bathroom, basic amenities, but missed the body lotion, ironing board, etc. Breakfast offered all the goodies including make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, toast, bagels, cream cheese, jams, teas, cereals, etc. Good value for under $100.00 a night. It was hard to find at night as the signage was very dim and small off the highway - set back a little, so it was quiet.
This is likely the cleanest hotel this traveler has ever stayed in. Best Western consistently provides comfortable mattress and numerous pillows along with the usual amenities, wifi, breakfast, microwave, refrig, great lighting. Only disappointment I felt that as Senior citizens checking in at that rate, we would have been given ground floor rom as there was no elevator. When I went back in to ask about elevator, they said they would change our room, but there was a line of folks checking in, and I decided to climb the stairs with my luggage rather than wait 20 minutes to get rechecked. We also reported to them that the tub drain needed help but it was not a problem really, just a nuisance. I would definitely stay here again
I was very pleased to see the hotel off the freeway and easy to get to. The rooms were good sized and worked for me. Brekfast was in a building next to the hotel a little small but had everthing but peanut butter.
We have stayed at this Hotel a number of times before, it is a good average Best Western, the rooms are good average size, the Breakfast is acceptable. The location is ideal if you wish to visit the Outlet Centre and it is on the San Francisco/Los Angeles Road. The Receptionists could be more welcoming, will not affect my choice, if I return to this area in the future.
there was news of a gas leak in the area. rooms were going fast, for all the out-of-town workers. I got in just before all the rooms were filled up. everything about my stay was highest quality. much appreciated.
The room was decent. Driving up to the hotel and viewing its exterior initially led us to believe that the place was going to be a dump, but everything was fine. The bed perhaps could have been more comfortable. Easy access to groceries and stores.
The hotel is across the street from the 101 freeway but fairly quiet the way it is positioned. Very clean and within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Pet-friendly, stayed in the back on the second floor. Nice large room with queen beds, micro, and refrigerator. You can take a 2-3 minute walk to a shopping center for Mexican food (Yolanda's, dinner only, one of the finest in Ventura County), the Bread Basket, Egg's & Things, Marie Calendars, Ralph's market and other shops. The hotel has a breakfast room presenting some basics. If you want a full breakfast, Marie Calendars or Egg's & Things. The Camarillo Mall is fairly close too or Ventura Harbor 15 minutes for seafood. You can't beat the hotel and location for the money.
There was no elevator and the 'pet free' rooms are on the second floor. There was a musty smell when we walked into the room. We sprayed Febreze but it really didn't help. That is the only negative. The room was very nice and clean. The sheets were silky, there was an extra set of towels. There was a large counter with a good light and a mirror and a stool outside the bathroom which was nice. The lighting was good in the room and the WiFi was really good. Breakfast was cold cereal, pastries, waffles, bananas and fruit juice. The breakfast room was very clean.
If you need to use WiFi DO NOT stay at this hotel!!!!!! I have never been so frustrated with the absolutely terrible connectivity even at 4.00am. The WiFi constantly dropped in and out, complained to the manager, his response - they didn't have enough bandwidth because the hotel was full. So Best Western spend some money on this property and provide a service that most of your clients now require as standard. I had to prolong my stay in the area for an additional week so I moved hotels because of the WiFi problems.
Traveling with our Service Dog, booked this Best Western based on reputation by Trip Advisor. All prior info was spot on. Close off of freeway. Near good food and shopping. 15 minutes from the Ventura, Seaside Park and Fair Grounds. Check-in friendly and hosbidable. Lots of room in the 2bed room.Bright Re-modeled bathroom. Seperate, Large vanity/ coffee bar. Large closet, hangers, iron and board. Luggage valet. Great dresser, TV , larger frig/freezer, microwave cabinet. Seperate desk, eating table, 2arm chairs. Lighting of the room could have been a bit brighter, I like 3 way bulbs. Lots of pillows in different sizes that made for comfortable sleeping selections. Clean, pleasent decor. Great room darkening drapes. Clean landscape, grassy areas for our dog, to cold to swim. Lots of good eats for breakfast. You won't go hungry!
We chose this motel because of the location on our way to the Bay Area and because they accept dogs. We were just staying for one night in late December. Our two medium sized dogs (Australian Shepherd mixes) were with us. The first floor room was very large and had a small refrigerator and I believe a microwave (though not 100% sure about the microwave). There was also a small dining table with two chairs that made it convenient to eat our dinner from Subway. There was a separate vanity area and a large closet area. The breakfast was okay and was held in a small room. The front office staff was friendly. The room appeared to be clean - however, there were a couple of hairs on the bedding (sheet and pillowcase) that did not appear to be from my dogs. It was late, we were tired, and with our dogs already settled in on their dog pads near the bathroom area for the evening, we just wiped the hairs off and hoped for the best. The bed was pretty comfortable. I probably would try to find somewhere else to stay if I am in the area again.
The room was very clean, and updated. I am very particular with a clean room. Toiletries were available, in case I had forgotten them. Bathtub was clean to take a bath, and sheets smelled off bleach. Microwave, and refrigerator were updated, and tucked away. Surrounding area felt safe, and it was freeway close. The staff was very friendly, and organized. I was provided with efficient directions to get to my room. Small area to potty dogs. Continental breakfast had lots of variety, including boiled eggs and hand-made waffles. Great value for the price. Would definitely stay here again!
The bed was comfortable, the flatscreen looked great. Two phones in the room, and LOTS OF SPACE. I liked it alot! The breakfast had some good choices. I really like the location of this hotel. Easy on and off of Highway 101. The public spaces are well furnished.
We picked this hotel and stayed in the weekend since we had to be in Camarillo. Based on previous recommendation, we chose this hotel and enjoyed it. Front desk service was attentive and courteous. They let us check in at 10 AM on a Saturday and later agreed to extend our check out to 1 PM on a Sunday. Everything promised was carried out. While being there, we also visited the Camarillo Outlets which are just a mile away. Although Motel type hotels are not my first choice, we picked the one that was the closest one for our need. WiFi was free.
This is a nice , clean and quiet place to stay. Rates are competitive and the ideal location for food, shopping and business access in Camarillo. The beds are nice and comfy. Always clean. Great showers. You'll be satisfied if you choose this BW.
was a little far from my concert .the best western in thousand oaks was booked .i am a member of best western so i stayed farther than i wanted to. nice area with lots of stores and places to eat will stay longer next time to check out the beaches.
My husband and two dogs just stayed here for two nights, my dogs a boxer mix and poodle mix also loved it. I wasn't sure if my 50 lbs boxer mix was gonna be a problem since a lot of other hotels that claim to be pet friendly often have a weight restriction. There was absolutely no problem and the staff was very pet friendly all the front staff was great as was the cleaning staff and the sweet and very efficient lady in the breakfast room. Very convenient location to the outlets, a grocery store, plenty of restaurants and other commodities. We would definitely stay here again.
You will love love love this BW, especially with its friendly Front Deskers Don and Manny – who got us a spacious King suite for our Diamond status. Pool and hot tub, ice machine, breakfast is the Best Western-lite version, big flat-screen TV, Jacuzzi tub in the room, separate extra sink outside the bathroom – this place has it all! Can't wait to return.
I have stayed at this motel several times this year and always found it to be very good. This time, and one other, the WIFI signal was too weak to be useful (I was in a room at the end of the chain.) The TV remote was a bit weak. Otherwise the staff was very good and accomodating, the price was reasonable, and I will stay there again.
My wife and I have recently stayed at this hotel for approximately 5 nights over the last few weeks. We chose this locatoin due to it's combination of a King Bed and Pet policy. The room (larger) was well appointed and very convenient and comfortable. I have only one concern. I need to use an APAP machine night and there were no unused plugs near the bed. So, to use the machine, I had to unplug the clock radio or the table lamp next to the bed. Our dog enjoyed the room and the fact she could be with us and not alone at our relatives house all night. Breakfast is much better than some of the older reviews. There are two waffle makers, pasteries, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, milk as well as coffee and other breakfast items. Overall a very good stay!
I really like this motel. I stay there with my friends when they come to town. Really comfortable and convenient to everything. The Camarillo Outlets, Restaurants, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Roxy Movie Theater, El Techolate Mexican Restaurant. is a great place It is 40 years old. There are many fine eateries close to the motel. The Jacuzzi is always nice at this Best Western. The only reason I would not stay there would be if they were completely booked up. I love this place.
This was the third and the best stay my husband, son and myself have had at the hotel. It is always clean, and the check in and out are easy. It was an excellent room for the money. We had to skip breakfast as my race started at 7am.
I drive down to Camarillo with my elderly father 2-3 times a year to visit my brother & his family. My dad and I love to stay at this hotel. It's always clean, great staff, conveniently located, offers breakfast, great value. It's our go-to spot away from home.
I stayed for one overnight business trip. I arrived late and left early so I did not spend much time in my room. The room was clean and spacious as was the lobby and the rest of what I saw of the hotel. The breakfast was just gross. I would stay there another night for a quick trip and grab a breakfast somewhere else.
My review is a bit late in being submitted, but four of us were travelling together from LA to San Francisco in Feb 2015. Monica in reception was very kind and sweet checking us in. Rooms were lovely, beds comfy and we had a nice breakfast in the morning. Pool and hot tub were a nice added attraction! It was a nice stop over. Would recommend to anyone.
I have stayed at several Best Western with my dog and this is the most unprofessional one that my family and I have experienced. They say that they are dog friendly, but they are not. After checking in, one of their employees was banging on our door that our dog was making to much noise. They claim that they are dog friendly, but they are not. People hanging out in the back parking lot and lots of activity going on. Save your money and do not stay here. Especially, if you have a dog. They are not dog friendly!!
I was renovating my house and needed a safe, comfortable, affordable place to stay during remodeling. Best Western filled the bill on all fronts. Very nice staff -- like family. They were helpful and professional. The room was always clean and it provided a microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator. Close to the freeway, restaurants, and shopping. I would recommend to anyone.
My mother and sisters went on our yearly trip, this was a nice and convenient motel for us to stay at. We enjoyed ourselves very much. It was close to shopping and we love to shop. It wasn't too far from Santa Barbara and so we visited their also.
The front desk staff was helpful. I was surprised to find 3 people there when we checked in. The breakfast was good, including batter and waffle makers, hard boiled eggs, cereal, bagels, toast, sausage biscuits you could heat up; along with coffee, juices, water and milk. There was a person cleaning up and they took very good care of the room. The beds were not very comfortable, we found them hard, and our backs were sore after 3 nights there. We did 2 queen beds to save money; not sure if the king bed would have been more comfortable. In addition the room smelled like old perfume. The staff did clean the rooms, but it was an older place and seemed like they couldn't get the smell out. While we got a AAA rate, it was more expensive on the weekend. There is a pool but it is tiny. There was free wi-fi but it was really slow.
Hotel staff was very courteous, I even had one of the custodial workers offer to help with my bags. Rooms are nice, recently renovated. Had a pleasant night's sleep on a very comfortable bed. Plenty of parking, a plus in California. Fully stocked continental breakfast and clean dinning area. Will definitely be coming back on my next fishing trip to Oxnard.
We had a good 2 night stay here. The location is convenient and we had everything we needed. One of the best parts was the tv remote was easy to operate! It was nice to be able to locate our favorite national networks and programs. Sounds silly but when you've been away from home for awhile it's nice to be able to keep up with the world happenings.
I got a good AAA deal on this room and thought maybe because it was older that it might not be comfy; I was wrong. The beds could have been a little softer for me but were very comfy as were the pillows. The room was big, clean and all the "little" things were well thought out, i.e. good in room coffee, two suitcase racks, frig, microwave, etc. Nice continental breakfast, small but lovely pool and hot tub. Very happy with our stay here.
My wife and I stopped at this Best Western on our way to LA to catch a cruise on the Princess Ruby. I will rate the cruise on a different review. When we travel, we always appreciate a smile and a nice greeting of Hello when we arrive. That is the first impression of the establishment. The staff member that helped me was all business, name, credit card, license number etc. It's always nice to have appreciate staff welcoming you. When we went to the room, I noticed a stonger than normal cleaning smell. I believe a dog was in the room. We oppened the window and aired it out. We turned on the TV and it didn't work, staffed member came in did some connection in the back of TV to make it work. One of my pet peives is when travel and stay in hotels that everything should be checked to see if everything is working before we check-in. Anyway, that is me. If anyone wants to take a swim, it is on the smaller side. On the plus side, the TV did have more channels than any other hotel that we have stayed in.
Great clean place to stay, free WiFi clean rooms, no bugs, includes microwave, good size fridge and Heat/AC best part it was quiet and pet friendly, my service dog was welcomed just like family...... thank you for 2 relaxing nights in comfortable beds! Highly recommended
Convenient, clean, comfortable, reasonably priced! The room was quite quiet although it is close to the freeway. (Easy to get to.) We like to stay at the Camarillo Best Western because it is more reasonably priced than the ones closer to LA or Santa Barbara - and every bit as comfortable!
For the most part, there is nothing special about this hotel other than the fact that it is close to the outlets and within walking distance to a fantastic sushi restaurant (Masa Sushi). It is also reasonable priced. The room was clean, however, there was one roach in my room. I do not blame that on the cleanliness of the room, but rather the water and dampness from the air conditioners in the room. They leek water and management has placed rolled up towels under each air conditioning unit to absorb the constant water. The room is completely equipped with all of the amenities that one would expect, including a mini-fridge. Restrooms could use some updating. Towels are old and rough and hotel does not provide hair conditioner or lotion. Pool is small, but our kids all had a good time swimming and then getting into the spa when they got cold. Breakfast provided more than I expected. Waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bananas/apples, pastries, bagels, juice. Overall, it is not the most luxurious hotel, but you are also not paying much to stay here. I would return if I am in the area.
The property is situated on a steep grade with lots of ramps and stairs. It wasn't easy to access the room from where parking was located. Breakfast is in a strip mall next to the property. Hot item breakfast was a packaged breakfast sandwich which you microwaved.
Hotel was situated in the midst of restaurants of every caliber, even a movie theater nearby. Very nicely decorated. I appreciated the fact that the bathroom was nicely tiled with a double row of contrasting tiles in the shower/bath. (I haven't seen that in any other BW property!). There was even a grab-bar in the bath. You'd be surprised how many hotels do not have that amenity. I guess they don't realize yet that many travelers are in, what the French call, the "third age" (=seniors)! Breakfast was adequate, and they were able to honor a special request that I wanted a room on the first floor because my friend is on crutches.
