Best Western Plus Port O'Call Hotel

Never again! As a BW diamond member I had a 45 minute wait for the airport shuttle. I can get over that. Check in went rather smooth although I was not recognized or thanked for being a diamond member. I can also get over that. The room was the first thing I could not get over. Stained carpet, broken bathroom tiles, missing trim, and a toilet that ran all night. The room was also not cleaned properly. I immediately called the front desk and was told there were no other rooms available to which I call Bull$hit! Early checkout followed by an email to the manager came back with no resolve and the generic “very sorry”. Easy solution is to find another hotel when in Calgary

We had a wonderful time with our 4 kids, ages 17, 12 and twin 4 year olds. My girls and I went for an amazing pedicure! She was able to accommodate each of us and spent time and care with hot Towles and hot stone massage. She even gave my daughter complementary nail art. We were all very happy, highly recommend! The kids all enjoyed the waves water park! We spent most of the day there. In the evening you have to choose an hour time slot to go, it made it so much more enjoyable because it would have been too crowded. The restaurants are great and affordable. We were here for 3 nights.

This is my “go to” hotel when travelling out of YYC, mainly due to the underground parking and shuttle service. We had a really nice room with a king sized bed. There was plenty of hot water for showering and the wifi was strong. The bed was really comfortable. which made for a good nights sleep. The friendly check in staff made me feel right at home. Highly Recommended!!!

My home away from home when in Calgary, Alberta. I have been staying at the Port O Call for more than forty years and the service just gets better and better. Thanks to a great staff. Their buffet breakfast is next to none.

The hotel pool is definitely the main attraction for kids. With two water slide, a smaller kiddie pool, water fountains in the pool, and a hot tub, there's something for everyone. I would imagine it's a busy place on weekends. The breakfast option was priced right and convenient without having to leave the hotel to find food elsewhere. Only downside is being so close to the airport, there is definitely a noise factor to consider. If you're worried about that, don't stay here. Otherwise it's a great place to take the family for a little overnight trip.

Great relaxing evening away from the children. Binge watched a series. jumped into the private Jacuzzi in-room. Enjoyed a delicious Sunday Brunch. Free underground parking available. Would definitely look at doing another trip with our children for a staycation. Waterslides look great.

Room was out dated and had tile falling off the bottom of the walls. Drains in sink and bathtub needed to be cleaned out. We would go for the swimming are in the past but after this stay I would not recommend as it has gone down hill.

Very busy, family and team destination I think, lots of kids in the pools . Hotel was clean and comfotable, not too noisy considering how busy it was. The 2 pools were very noisy, and full of kids. Close to the airport

It was a blast for my kids, and will book beside the pool next time for a easy acces in the pool, its our first time in that hotel but we will keep coming back for more. Cant wait to book in that hotel

Our room was huge and all amenities were close by. Convenient location. Breakfast was very well prepared. Will definitely stay here again. Pool area was well maintained and the water park was so much fun.

This was our third time staying here and it did not disappoint. Kids love the pool so much and the breakfast is really great. Lots of fruit! Staff are really friendly and helpful and the parkade below is really nice when travelling in the winter.

This hotel is great! I love that they have a lounge! If I had kids it would also be a great place to stay! We used the shuttle to the airport! Was great! The only disappointment was when we flew back in we tryed to get ahold of the hotel for a ride and no one answered so we had to take an Uber!

There was no elevator access from parking garage. The elevators only go to one end of the hotel so if you have a room it is a long walk with luggage. Room wasn't the cleanest. Found fake eyelashes from previous guest on sink, hot water to sink took forever. The sauna was not on so we weren't able to use as it didn't get up to temp in time

Great hotel to stay with kids. Wish they still had continental breakfast. A little noisy, but otherwise our go to when in Calgary! Complementary Coffee would be a huge bonus for parents who need that pick me up in the morning.

The pool is wonderful we encountered a number of staff all were helpful and friendly the hotel was easy to find and in close proximity to the places we wanted to visit we felt very safe the only downside and it's a small one is the tv channel selection

I stopped here from the Calgary airport to and from home. I had a wonderful stay. I had a late dinner in the lounge. Very friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast buffet was very diverse, something for everyone. They also have senior rates.

We disappointed to find out after check in that the water slide pool could only be accessed for a 1 hour time block. Also to find out that you are only provided with a limited number or wristbands to access the water slide pool area. Guests not swimming were not permitted to enter the pool area. Was unaware there was a separate pool area downstairs that had open access overhearing other guests. Other minor inconveniences, only one bathrobe in the room, room would overheat then get cold. Changing the settings didn't help at all.

All employees are kind, knowledgeable and are willing to make your stay the best ever. If any issues arise they handle it promptly and efficiently. Overall, best hotel I've stayed at in Alberta. Book here, you won't regret it!

Fantastic staff. Friendly, helpful, accommodating. We were staying due to massive flight delays with Westjet. The staff at the Port O'Call made us comfortable, provided a later checkout and were fantastic to us and all of the guests we spoke to.

Can't go anywhere including the elevator without your room card. The staff discriminate people at the entry of the pool and are extremely rude, they refused to give us towels. We booked our pool time slot (only allowed one hour) and they crossed us off and refused to let the rest of us in because two of our party went in before us and left during that hour.

We stayed here for one night while traveling through Calgary and were thoroughly pleased with our stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet. We didn't use the water park. The restaurant closes at 8:00, and we arrived after that time, but were able to have an excellent dinner in the lounge. Breakfast is not included in the stay, there's a Tim Horton's across the street if you want a quick breakfast.

Great value for families: clean rooms, water slides, underground parking. Internet was good for streaming movies Kids loved the water slides Parking is underground which is good during the winter. Staff was very helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay and I love how the pool area is family friendly and the separate section for toddlers to swim and how the water is kept warm in the toddler pool. There is an IHOP close by and The big box was close by so that was a bonus for me

The reason we chose this hotel was because it has water slides and room service. What we were not told is that on the weekend you can only have 1 hour of pool time after 6pm and have to book a spot. That's not advertised anywhere. The hot tub was also broken further adding to the disappointment. For room service they don't even answer the phone. I tried for over an hour. It's not acceptable. They also charge for breakfast and charge for their normally “free” coffee bar. The room was ok, drain didn't work. Overall this was a disappointing experience. I expect better of a Best Western Plus.

Over priced rooms, over packed small pool, zero complementary breakfast or even coffee….adds make it sound like a grand water park, it is not 2 water slides and a small pool which they pack what seems like hundreds in at a time, not safe at all! Save your money and stay up the road for much less and receive much more!

This is the second time we stayed here and the kids had just as much fun as the first time. We had a king bed with a pull out couch. The bed was super comfy and the room was spacious. The buffet breakfast was discounted and extremely good with table service as well. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely include this hotel in our travels when it is on our path.

My grandchildren didn't want to leave the water park. Small warm pool for tiny ones and two large slides into bigger pool. Hot tub also. Pool area clean and well maintained. Beds were super comfortable and room was very clean.

This hotel was great for our kids aged 2 and 3. They have 2 waterslides which they both loved and a mini slide that my 2 year old liked when he was tired or cold (as it was a warmer pool). Kids loved the planes flying by and we never heard them inside. We always had the fan on at night so if there was noise, it was drowned out. The location is decently close to the zoo and spark. Lots of restaurants and stores near, including costco.

I found a collection of sharp objects on the floor: a pin, a safety pin, and a chisel staple. This was particularly concerning as I was travelling with a toddler. I reported my apprehensions to the staff and requested an additional cleaning before returning to the room. Upon my comeback, the floor was tidy, and the bathroom towels had been replaced with fresh ones. However, this did not alter our overall impression that the hotel was unclean and outdated. The pillows and bed sheets emitted a sweat odour, the window drapery was stained and covered in dust, the mini-fridge produced a constant noise, and the pool was also unclean, with only one functional shower. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or family, nor would I choose it for my future stays in Calgary.

We have stayed here several times throughout the years. The waterslides and main pool were down while we were there but they adjusted the price to make up for it. Our tv said "no signal", we called down to the front desk and someone came up right away to fix the problem. We will stay here again and again when in Calgary.

booked in for 3 nights. Unfortunately the main pool was closed, no advanced notice until we arrived at the front desk. Attached restaurant was to have a pizza & Pasta buffet, but seemed to run out of buffet items early in the dinner hour - certainly not worth the price.

This is a very nice hotel. it was clean and well looked after. It has an amazing water park that was very busy. It has a second pool and hot tub by the fitness room we did not know about until after we were done. the only disappointment is that breakfast does not come with some room reservations.

A basic hotel, well beyond walking distance from anywhere, but convenient as a 1 night stop on the way to Lake Louise after a late night arrival in Calgary. The hotel was basic but clean, safe, 15 minutes from the airport, had free parking and the room was quiet. Not somewhere for a long stay, but a reasonable option for a late night arrival or stopover.

Bathroom floor not clean. I washed it down myself. Young people running around lobby after 11 pm. Not spoken to by staff . Had to move rooms at 10:45 pm as door would not open from the inside. No compensation from hotel for inconvenience.

Everything here was amazing, the staff was so friendly, room service was fast and delicious, the pool was excellent and the room was so clean and everything was in working order. Very pleasant and enjoyable stay, my boyfriend and I have already discussed that we will be returning in the future!

We stayed here for our vacation while visiting family. The staff were kind and very helpful. We stayed during the stampede and the theme inside the hotel was cowboys. the room was clean and we really enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again.

In town to celebrate my granddaughters 7th birthday and couldn't have been happier with the experience here. The staff was helpful and the pool was great for the kids to enjoy. I would stay here again should the need arise.

The hotel room was roomy and clean, with a view of the Calgary Tower, but that is completely irrelevant in comparison to the water park. We were in the water park with our 12 year old every morning and every night, and she was happy as a clam! Add to that the all you can eat Pizza and Pasta buffet at the hotel restaurant, and you're talking kiddie heaven!

I specifically booked this hotel for the “water park” for the kids. We checked in with no issues and got into our room which was decent but nothing special. Kids went to the pool and it was PACKED full of people. Lots of kids running around screaming, 8 kids at a time going down the slides together and butting in line in front of younger kids. Parents weren't paying attention to their children which I mentioned to the staff attendant who was dealing with towels. (I can't blame her for the nonsense though) pool wasn't clean and had bandaids and other particles floating in it which grossed my kids out so we left. When booking this hotel i assumed it included breakfast which it did NOT unless you want to pay for it. Our room wasn't cleaned properly and had a dirt scum ring around the tub and the hairdryer was full of dust and had some type of stickiness on the handle. Woke up the next morning to children yelling and running up and down the hallway at 7:30am. I did bring my concerns to the front desk upon check out and the response I got was I'm sorry we will try and do better for next time and made notes of what was wrong with the room. On the plus side they did have underground parking. (Very tight parking spaces)For $200 a night I expected much better from a Best Western as this has always been our go to hotel chain. We will not be back as I can find a better priced hotel elsewhere that includes everything this one has plus more.

Pool was not open or waterslides dirty rooms clogged toilet and sinks disgusting balcony with old clothing and over grown in weeds poop floating around in pool and no water for 2 days of our stay! Restaurant served of burgers that were pink inside. Over charged us on calaway passes and zoo.

The stay was great. Breakfast is buffet style, waitresses are efficient and friendly.The pool was a nice feature for the kids, which we enjoyed. We had recieved passes to Calaway park/Calgary Zoo at a discounted rate, which helped us save some money.(always a bonus).Are stay here was very pleasant will be coming back in the future.

For how expensive it is, it's pretty ridiculous that you have to book a time slot at the pool, you aren't allowed outside food or drinks in your room, not pet friendly, and you need to book a reservation in the restaurant. Too many inconveniences for something so pricey.

Stayed at Port O'Call for over a week while visiting family in Calgary. Happened to be Stampede Week, so hotel was quite crowded. Room was spacious and clean. Excellent breakfast buffet. Only issue was lack of sufficient parking spaces for those with mobility problems. Only three designated spaces in front of hotel.

This hotel is close to the airport, but aircraft noise was at a minimum. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very large, with two king-size beds. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hanging space for clothes, the aircon worked well. The coffee machine was easy to use. The bathroom was a good size, with the shower over the low bath, with grab rails. We had breakfast in the hotel twice, with waitress service and a good choice, but huge portions! (We were to get use to being given huge portions during our Canadian stay!). There was a more limited menu for evening meals, but the food was very good.

My family and I spent 4 nights at this hotel as we explored Calgary and the surrounding area. The Breakfasts are fantastic with lots of fresh ripe fruit and quality options available, the best hotel breakfast I have had. We had pool access from our room which was very fun for the whole family.

This could be called BW Plus for Kids! After many days on the road we wanted a hotel with a pool to enjoy at the end of the day. This BW has a pool with a big slide making it a perfect play area for kids...and there were lots of them. As one reviewer stated there we're so many in the pool it was unsafe. It is a nice hotel to take the young family to play however we were unable to use the pool at any time. The hotel should designate an adult only time each night. With so many chikdren the halls were noisier. Also there is no breakast provided. No breafast and no use of the pool makes this an expensive stsy.

Room was dirty, pool was extremely over populated which made it unsafe, they said pool was controlled by time slots but that didn't happen, ice machine broken, drink machine broken, shuttle bus broken, no zoo tickets to purchase even tho was told there would be,

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Port O'Call Hotel for one night. We had two rooms for five of us. Check in was easy and the staff friendly. The hotel was very busy as was the water park. We stayed for the Sunday brunch which was good. Will certainly stay again.

I've tried to reach out to the hotel several times without response (I stayed here 2 weeks ago) I have came here to warn people not to stay at this hotel. During our stay I was cut by broken glass in the toddler pool, bleeding into the water. I personally picked 6 pieces of broken glass out of this pool. There was glass smashed all over the walking area as well where small children were walking around in bare feet!! my husband went to get the lifeguard to show her and kick people out of the pool. we observed people swimming in that area of the pool later that evening. There is NO way for them to ensure all the glass was out of the pool in that span of time. i am very lucky this happened to me and not my 4 year old. We were unable to use the pool any further because of our concern over safety- the pool was the only reason we came to this hotel. this hotel has yet to reach back out to me to offer an apology, some form of refund. Nothing. Radio silence. Guess safety isn't a top priority for this hotel. Photos were taken after cut had been cleaned up.

This hotel has everything and is in a great location. Waterpark with separate small slide for the little ones, two bigger slides, small pool area and hot tub. Unfortunately the water was quite cool. There is a small pool and hot tub next to the fitness center which was sadly closed. The room was generally comfortable, but we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, however the property itself appeared very clean and well maintained overall. Breakfast is not included, however it is available at an onsite restaurant at a reasonable price. Room service is also available at this hotel with several selections and a kids menu. Free and secure underground parking was greatly appreciated.

Stayed here many times. Must say this was the least pleasant. Dated room, toilet seat wasn't attached to the toilet. Dirty bed sheets, room faced airport departure runway. Ground floor with kids running back and forth. The restaurant/pub was supposed to be opened till midnight, but was closed by 10:20. Had l known this l would have stopped for a bite to eat before I arrived.

Water slides are amazing! My entire family - from age 9 to age 51 love the water park. The hotel is 15 minutes from our home but we still come at least once a year for a fun staycation. Lots of parking and food options.

Born and raised in Calgary and the Port O'Call has always been there. We live way south but had a free night, with the kids still out for winter break… well wow! From the front desk to check in to check out all was awesome. Kids loved the pool, restaurant lounge was great service decent prices and Joy was an amazing waitress. Breakfast was great at a reasonable price. Rooms are dated but a good size. Loved this property and would stay again. The pool for the kids with 2 slides is really good and would recommend this hotel if you have an overnight stay close to the airport.

The pool was the highlight. However one of the hot tubs was out of order and the second one was like a lukewarm bathtub. However the slides were fun. The restaurant has amazing servers and lots of options. The breakfast price is the best buffet price I have seen in a long time, and the food was good. The bar was nicely renovated and a great end to the night. The rooms were average for the price paid. Not outdated, but not super renovated/ modern. The shower pressure wasn't great.

We had requested adjoining rooms because of our large family. The hotel had everything ready when we arrived. We requested a cot for one room and it was delivered immediately. Mo at the front desk was so kind and helpful. We had a great time!

It was a pretty good stay service was fairly quick and the room i reserved where well cleaned and comfortable very crowded in the pool but that was to be expected at Christmas time my family loved our stay

The manager at the front was very helpful and friend. He noticed we were suppose to have the rooms with the connecting pool, but unfortunately it got over book. He was willing to make it right for us which was very helpful.

Always enjoy staying at port o call. Great front desk service every time. Close to the airport. Clean rooms that are usually very quiet. Beds are like sleeping on clouds! Great room service delivery food too. And underground parking which is a must in the winter!

Amazing hotel. Great location. Best hotel breakfast ever. Jetz lounge is great. Love the hot tub and fitness centre. Friendly, attentive staff. It's really the BEST hotel for work trips. Families seem to like it for the water park but I haven't used that.

Had a overnight stay before leaving on vacation. Used the email check in and everything worked great no problems. Used the restaurant and lounge that night and food was great drinks were great and atmosphere was really good. Will stay again when coming to Calgary.

Stayed at this Port a Call Best Western Calgary for several years and have never been disappointed. We have enjoyed the staff presence. the Internet is excellent. the guest rooms have always been very clean with all the amenities, fridge, microwaves, complimentary coffee.

It is very good hotel the Star friendly they were very helpful rooms are clean It has an excellent location and it's multiple levels plus underground parking warm underground parking which is very helpful in the cold

Can't beat super great customer service staff in this hotel. Kudos to Angela for a perfect customer service. Even the room service staff will greet at the hall way when you pass by. My kids always enjoy the pool and of course we enjoy the hot tub.

We have stayed here a few times over the past years and it is always exceeds our expectations of a home away from home. Always clean, always comfortable, and always friendly staff. would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

Ever since we started to go to Calgary I have always wanted to stay at Port O Call. Very friendly and informative reception! Our room was very clean, with enough space and quiet! Located south of the airport which has the main road to the rest of Calgary. Loved that they had so much pool space but found it a bit crowded! They do also have a 2nd more private pool and exercise room which was great! Loved the restaurant and the plane theme throughout the hotel. Underground parking fits our pick-up truck but very tight corners to get around in there. They had a couple of squash rooms that I would love to see another time if they are available. The restaurant was great. Could you a few cheaper options though. Would I return? Yes, I would!

We have stayed there many time when our kid was younger and although dated back then, the rooms were clean and service was great then. We have just returned to see this place in need of major TLC. The water park is in rough shape, the handrails and stairs are covered in rust and major staining is visible. The room looked very dated, we found a candy wrapper below the one of the beds and the actual full hard candy was under the other bed, so gross. Also saw a cleaning lady drop an entire lot of clean bed sheets in the hallway only to grab them and proceed in the room to make the bed. We were told at check in that the breakfast was until 11, thank goodness we checked the voucher as it's only until 0930 on Sunday's. The buffet is great and service was good. This is a best western plus I believe, if so, major improvements need to happen. It's the little things, no bottles of water, no robes, no laundry bag, horrible old school plastic tray coffee machines… We will try a different hotel next time.

Friendly staff, accommodating, great pools and excellence breakfast buffet. The service was exceptionally fast, room was clean and the staff made me feel very welcomed. I would definitely go back and would recommend this to family & friends.

The hotel is in need of an update/renovation. Rooms were acceptable, but there was stains on the sheets and in the curtains. Wall paper was peeling and there were 2 Lage holes in the wall where there clearly used to be a picture hanging. The waterpark is past it's prime it needs a major renovation but at a minimum it needs to be kept clean. The hot tub water was murky. There was mold in the stairs to the waterslide and there was Grit on the bottom of the pool. Breakfast not included and charging $40 for a breakfast that you can get free at many other hotels that charge less is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We often take our kids for ‘staycations' around alberta and I have never had more friendly service than I experienced at the port o call Calgary. While checking in I observed the other attendants helping hotel guests and noted how friendly and patient they were too! Seriously, I have never had better front desk service. High notes for this hotel were the waterpark and the FREE underground, secure parking. The only complaint I have is how much it cost to rent a movie, $25! For that price I could buy a movie, but it is a luxury and most wouldn't rent one anyways so overall I give this place a 10/10! I wasn't able to try the buffet but it's so nice to have one on site!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, definitely high quality by Best Western standards. Convenient to have restaurant in building given that we had no car. Fairly near the airport.

. Good location to travel from, close to freeway and connecting routes around the city. Close to airport. Great place for families and children. Two food establishments on site, and nice lounge to relax in.

The hotel was in a great location for Getting to Calaway park, and the Calgary zoo. The pool was awesome having a childrens area and then the pool/hottub and water slides in the upper area. The sky harbour buffet was really good and had a nice variety of food. The room is a bit dated, If you are travelling with a toddler I would recommend requesting a room that does not have a pool view, the noise will keep your child awake, and the lights come on at 7am for morning maintenance. Room service is hit or miss, we called and got hung up on. There were dirty towels on the floor under the sink (below the shelf) and a dirty sucker stick on the top of the headboard, also our shower squealed loudly which made showering after our child was asleep impossible. Overall we had a great stay!

Hotel was excellent, food exceptional. Called to inquire about ride from airport and was told if I fly in on West Jet. I phoned the next day and confirmed. I followed the instructions and when I arrived the hotel told me it was only for employees of West Jet .. I was made to feel like I was in the wrong but I assured them I confirmed .. cost me 40$ so I felt annoyed. Also, the tub was slow draining and there was a distinct dirt ring - which then of course leads me to wonder what else has been missed .. on the whole things were clean and staff were friendly.

Everything was clean and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. My kids used the pool, although it was very busy. We had supper and breakfast at the restaurant buffet and it was very good as well. I really liked the omelet cook. Super! People are rude and take way more bacon than necessary so we didn't get much of it. But overall, really good.

The hotel was perfect! Great location/ everyone was very helpful. The pool was so much fun, brunch was amazing, food was amazing and the bar was fun. The staff in each venue were fantastic, very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Much better hotels for the price. Best part was the Waterpark. Bed was comfy but cheap pillows. Air conditioning barely worked, poor reception with TV, could only watch maybe 4 channels,. Other best westerns have better service and offer more bang for your buck.

Worst stay our room had drugs and drug packages in it. Staff was shocked but didnt clean our obviously dirty room we grabbed clean blankets from a cart in the hallway out first night. Each day after a long day of fun we would come home to a room not cleaned nor beds made nor garbage taken out or new towels. After talking to front desk they gave a basic understaffed and poor quality staff excuse but would call house keeping to clean room while we would go to the pool. Waterpark very nice rest of stay was so beyond sub par and when talking to other parents they were also shocked as they had same problems with rooms not getting cleaned. For your money stay at a holiday inn express they have pools and continental breakfasts And i argued till i was blue in the face for a discount or a sorry and they laughed and said no.

We booked the family room. The Murphy bed was an amazing touch, also the extra sink was super handy. We never got to use the Waterpark, but it looked amazing. All the beds were so comfortable!! Great stay.

I will first start by saying you couldn't hear the airplanes from the airport which was nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. But our first room was dirty and when we went to turn down the a/c the room filled with the smell of burnt hair so bad we had to leave immediately. They were able to give us another room right away which was also not very clean. We went to the pool which in pictures looked so fun but was also not clean. The whole place is definitely in need of a overhaul.

Group booking - had a staff member enter my brother-in-law's room while we were out and steal a beer from the fridge he'd fully stocked prior to us going out. We did not have anyone come to clean the rooms and no one entered to perform any maintenance. While it's only a beer, it could've easily been any of the electronics left lying around. I have been repeatedly brushed off by reception and management - the latter of which said “it's been passed on to housekeeping” and then hung up on me. And no one seems to know anything when asking for a follow up. They do have cameras in their hallways so it is not difficult to look into and then communicate SOMETHING to your guests when an issue arises. They also charged me for all three rooms instead of separately as stated a million times, so now I'm waiting for almost $1,000 to be returned to me. The person serving us at breakfast charged us $42 for one breakfast and one coffee, and my aunt the same for her single breakfast as he chose to split the payments equally per room despite us explaining precisely who had what, which meant our brother-in-law's room also paid $42 despite their six breakfasts. Not a big deal but might be for others so worth noting. Check in was long and tedious with a ton of confusion - and there are nowhere near enough porter's trolleys. The vending machines barely work and only do one transaction at a time if you have to use a card. And our ice machine was out of order. The bathroom had mold and smelled odd - the only saving grace was knowing it was clean by the smell of cleaning products when turning on the shower. But the bath mat was full of questionable stains. And dusting in general left a lot to be desired. Onto the good: Lisa who served us in the bar was fantastic - she was lovely and a total credit to this location. The food was great and we had a great time. The beds were ridiculously comfortable too - we actually overslept the one morning! I do recommend going for the suite if you have a few kids and need room for a playpen. Ours are too small to share comfortably and we needed to put up a playpen for our baby, and the suite was the perfect size. I'd have preferred a separate bedroom for the children but the room size was decent.

Get to front desk Lady was rude and we were rushed. Charged me extra 45 on top of what i was quoted. Get to room... No towels in room,No shampoooos and conditioners ,No soaps Room was very dirty. I had to clean tub and room myself after calling housekeeping to stock room and clean. And only showed with 3 big towels. We had 5 checked in. Lol. Called again...waited over an hour... Missed the water park waiting. They never showed. Then went to front desk in am. All they had was 2 towels. I spent about 15hours trying to get soap or shampoo, teas. That we never got. Lol. And i spent 30 min cleaning my own room. I couldn't shower to get chemicals from pool off that night or morning. What a great staycation vacation! They offered me 1 food voucher for 16.00. After i complained about that being ridiculous... They offered my free movie. 24.99. I was qouted 159.00. I paid 220.00 , 245.00 with movie rental. And got 24.99 off for movie. Still paid 220. Lol 70 more than what i was told when booking. I would never stay at Best Western again. I worked in hotel industry for 15 years. I would have handled these situations a little better!

We have stayed here over a dozen times and this time was the worst. The hotel has gone down hill. Not clean, sketchy people and unsafe environment as all floors were unlocked for all guests and non guests.

Our favourite part of the stay was the splash park. Hands down the best we've experienced. Two water slider for older kids and a smaller splash park and water slide for toddlers/ babies. Location was great close to stampede grounds and zoo.

I travel monthly and experience many hotels, and this is by far the worst experience in years. Don't let the waterslides fool you, you cant even get a towel. The room was falling apart, broken bed with loose sharp springs, rotting food and tea bags left on the floor, broken tiles and sharp grout in entry that fell apart each time the door closed, broken closet doors, and no housekeeping is provided even when requested. I fully understand staffing shortages, but this was bad. I requested a room change but hotel was full. The Steam room in executive pool area was out of order also. The breakfast was ok and staff was mediocre.

Welcoming staff at the front desk, helpful for special requests. Great experience in the restaurant for lunch with friendly staff along with excellent food. The catered meals for our event were exceptional!

The buffet was beyond our expectations with variety and quality of food. The rooms were delightfully clean and spacious. We made good use of the pools and water slides, which of course travelling with kids is a must. Soooo much fun for the whole family.

You're staying here because of the water park, it's definitely for the kids. At all times the pool is busy and very chlorinated. We highly recommend the lounge for supper the food was awesome! Far exceeded our expectations and very fair prices!

My son had a lot of fun in the indoor waterpark. Rooms are clean. Staff are friendly. Buffet breakfast was worth the money. And conveniently located. Not too busy of an area but also not too far of a drive to downtown.

Stayed in this hotel in July 2022. Overall we were relatively happy with our stay. The kids loved the pools and that's why we picked this hotel in the first place. Lots of food options within a short drive and we booked with the option to have breakfast included at the restaurant buffet which was good enough. This hotel is old though, but it seems they do their best. My room was clean but very noisy as it connected to the pool. Luckily they enforce the closure of the pool and it is silent from 10pm to 8am. The kids have asked us to stay here again, so we probably will. The pool was that big of a hit!

The pool is nice with the two slides and a section for little kids with a smaller slide. We went in July and it was quite busy so the pool area gets busy as well. There's another pool one floor down with a hot tub. Just a basic pool but that one was nice and quiet. More maintenance around the pool is needed - mopping, cleaning up, etc. The hotel itself is old. You can see the the age of the hotel in the rooms. If kids are out in the hallway, you can definitely hear them. The wall paper in our room was slightly peeling, the carpets were stained. The tub in the room was nice and new though. The overall cleanliness of the room was okay. There was a yellow stain on one of the towels, a stain on a pillow and on our flat sheet. They have a parking garage, which was nice especially with the heat. We liked the location. Easy to get places. Unfortunately, they didn't have a free continental breakfast. Overall our stay could be described as okay.

My family and I first stayed at this hotel in 2018 in the north part of the building. The room was the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in, so I definitely wanted to stay here again while we were in Calgary this past week. We were given a room that backs onto the pool area and I was very unimpressed immediately after walking in. It was outdated, small, smelled like chlorine, hot and the remote to the air conditioning was gone. The bathroom was filthy. However my kids were super excited to be backing onto the pool so I decided to give it a chance. The first night, the pool stayed open until 11:30pm and all we could hear was kids screaming. The next day we went to go to the pool directly from our room (the only good thing about this room) and it was dead bolted shut. I went to the front to ask why, was told it should have been opened and they would have someone open it. Went for breakfast, came back to the room, still wasn't opened. Had to go back again and wait in line and request again that someone open it. We were going to be gone all day at the zoo so we requested to have our room cleaned. We came back that evening and it still wasn't done. Went back to the front to complain, was told it would be done while we were at dinner, came back it still wasn't done. Had to go complain again. It wasn't cleaned until 7 at night and it was still dirty. Some positive things: there are two restaurants in the hotel that are both wonderful. The breakfast buffet in the morning is very good, we used it both mornings we were there. The waiting staff there are very nice and helpful. We went to Jets restaurant for dinner and the food was reasonably priced with good portion sizes and great service! The pool and watersides are so much fun, my kids LOVED them. The lounge and common areas of the hotel are nicely decorated and very clean. The location is convenient, especially if you are going to the zoo, or need to be close to the airport. The parking area is huge (with underground parking available as well). I would stay here again, however I would request my room be on the north part of the building. I would not recommend staying in the rooms backing onto the pool area until they are renovated and cleaning staff properly trained.

Horrible experience, booked a one night pool side room. Pool was closed upon arrival with cleaning being done (apparently small child fouled the water) stuck in the room. Room was not clean, nor was bathroom. the AC in the room made a great deal noise, but did not produce cool air - it also reeked of chlorine. Bed was too soft and the pillows were actually lumpy (gross) I would not return nor recommend until upgrades/repairs are made. Definitely not worth what we paid.

Staff are very helpful. Clean. Waterpark is wonderful for the kids. Breakfast buffet is very good as well, lots of options, including fruits and yogurt which is very nice. Good deal on breakfast family package.

Took a family trip to Calgary to visit the zoo. Nice location on NE side of Calgary, close to the zoo and decent shopping/restaurants close by. Booked this hotel primarily because of the water park but sadly the pool was very dirty. If wanting to spend any time in the pool would definitely not book here again. Rooms were just so so and also not that clean.

OK hotel. The pool was very dirty and packed all the time. But parking and location is great. Near airport and easy to navigate. The room was clean but the t.v was glitchy and only had 1 channel that worked properly. Probably would not stay again.

Pool water and rooms wasn't very clean. Chunks of hair found in room and pool. Stay for the water slides, the kids love having two slides. Hotel is outdated could really use a makeover. Staff were very nice.

I'm not sure why I picked this hotel. I'm pretty sure I was rushing and my experiences with Best Western have been favourable. In this hotel: Room was clean. Staff were very friendly. Restaurant staff were friendly; food was very good. They have a pool facility that seemed to be well-used by families. (I did not use it- so no other comments). Generally it was quiet. I could hear children in the halls on the way to their rooms but that was it. The only negative for me - and it was significant - it's not on a good bus route or walking route. I could see a coffee shop across the road but there was no pedestrian light (or it wasn't working), so I ended up having my breakfasts in the hotel (more expensive than I'd planned - but definitely good), I also ordered in dinner (Skip The Dishes), since taking a cab to go get dinner wasn't something that excited me. I usually go exploring with my camera when on vacation but there wasn't really anywhere to walk to - no sidewalk on one road/busy highway on the other. I also went to Stampede and came back after 11pm but needed to get a cab ($40 including a tip), since it's not in the LRT route. So, if you stay here - recommend you have a car (or expect to cab it everywhere). All the concerns with transportation are due to my haste in booking the hotel. Most people will have cars and if you do, it's a fine hotel.

The Hotel has an amazing pool that the kids had a great time in. The overall upkeep and quality was top notch and they have a very safe keycard system so that you can only access your floor if you have a room on that floor. They have an underground parking but my SUV was too big to go in there. The front desk staff also helped us with an unusual request that was very appreciated.

Great location, good food and truly caring staff. Our special occasion was wonderful primarily as a result of the worry-free care with which we were surrounded. The bride and groom and their families relaxedand we all had a great time.

We enjoyed the slides at the swimming area, the brunch buffet was excellent and the other meals we had at the restaurant were very good and very affordable! We'll be going there again with more friends and family.

After being delayed from a flight. The check in staff was not only supportive but she helped us find food at a very late hour as well as found us some pop and we were dying of thirst. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable

Absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel was family friendly with an amazing water park for hotel guests only. It was so close to all of our activities and favourite restaurants. It was quiet in the evening, which made for a great sleep. All of the staff I spoke with were so friendly and accommodating. Definitely one of the best (if not THE best) stays of my life!

Nice comfy bed and the room was nice. Very clean! Great tub in the bathroom. The front desk staff member who checked us on was great - so friendly! The food in the lounge left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend eating there if you're able to go elsewhere. The elevator floors were constantly soaked by people coming from the pool. I'm not sure what the hotel could do about this - half the problem is that people just don't bother to properly dry off and then leave their mess for someone else to clean up. Aside from that, it was a positive experience. The hotel definitely feels geared towards families.

The hotel is slightly dated but the staff, cleanliness, beds and amenities are great. The staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Another great feature is the secure underground parking. If there is one little negative you are adjacent to the airport so some noise from flights until late.

Well manage. no breakfast was offered but my family had fun just staying in the hotel and no need to go out while I am in meeting. Right question are being ask for the review. My kids had fun having an option to to a kids pool and I am not worried for their safety.

Had high expectations but unfortunately left dissatisfied, Room had old appliances- fridge froze everything, No USB's, expensive movies for kids, loud ac. Expected more for $190 a night. Kids pool small

Went for a family trip and stayed at the Port O Call as a weekend get away. The suite was absolutely wonderful and relaxing with a large jacuzzi tub that you could melt into. The restaurant was decent but nothing to really rave about, but by the looks of it they are renovating a second one so hopefully it is higher end.

The room was decent but few of us slept well as the beds and pillows were not very comfortable and the rooms are not very sound proof. The Murphy bed provide enough space for 6 of us to stay in one room, which was a great option. The rooms look clean, but dated. Having a sink in the bathroom and one just outside of it really helped the bedtime and morning routines move quicker. The coffee in the room was terrible. The pool was excellent. The kids LOVED the 2 water slides. And the adults appreciated that there were 2 hot tubs in the same area. Typically there is a 2nd pool and hot tub available on a lower level. Though we were disappointed that the lower pool was closed. We did not make use of the fitness area this time, but have on previous visits. It is larger than many others we've seen, and well equipped. I really like that there is a water bottle filling station in it too. The showers in the fitness area change rooms are awkward, as the frosted glass turns clear when wet. A sauna in the charge room is a nice addition, but it takes a long time to heat up. If you plan to use it after your work out, perhaps turn it on before, or partly through, your work out. Having underground, roomkey-access parking is very nice. For the price this hotel costs, and to truly make it a family hotel, it should really have breakfast included.

One of the best hotel i stay in. When we go to Calgary with the family we always stay here, on 17yrs now and the staff is the best, Either Mo at front desk, Dave in the bar or Chelsie as are waitress all the best staff ever.

room was fair size. not the cleanest. the downstairs pool and hot tub were closed which wasnt stated on website..we wouldnt have booked. Then we called about buffett breakfast...were told the wrong closing time which left us hour less of time. The buffett was what you would get for free at any other hotel except at other hotels its free. mucky eggs..cold ham....not worth 16.

The room was large and the pools were so much fun. Our grandchildren loved this hotel. Told the doorman at the Paliser/Fairmont in Calgary that their hotel was nice but the BW Port ocall was better because of the slides at the pool. Lol! Will definitely stay there again if we have the grandkids in Calgary.

Rooms are filthy. Switched rooms due to having crusty boogers on the headboards, glasses not cleaned, filthy TV remote, hair and other filth in the tub and sinks. ETC... Pool area over capacity causing a safety hazard. Front desk staff were very friendly. However, the onsite manager was rude and unprofessional with an overall bad attitude.

This hotel has been our go to in the past for the kids as they love the waterpark. During our last stay, we experienced problems with non functioning AC and burning skin after getting out of the pool. We expressed both of these concerns to staff and the response was “no one else has complained”. We were offered the ability to change rooms (which we did once) and also a discount on our rooms, but it didn't solve the issue. Despite our best efforts to seek resolution, neither issue was resolved during our stay. Continuing to switch rooms multiple times while travelling with 3 kids under 5 is just not feasible. The kids want to go do activities, the baby needs to nap and I don't want to waste an hour moving things. We were also not the only guests complaining about “burning” skin after getting out of the pool. Despite water being tested, this should probably be taking seriously before it causes an injury to a guest. Something must not be right if people experience burning skin after getting out of the pool! Not an enjoyable stay to say the least.

Over priced for a three star hotel. Rooms weren't overly clean, pool area was packed with bandaids on the floor…if you can look past cleanliness and price, you will be fine. Great location with lots of restaurants and other amenities very close by.

Stayed for 2 days. Room was spacious and clean. My son enjoyed the pool and Waterpark. Staff are patient and friendly. Will go again if visiting Calgary again in the future. Restaurant next door is yummy and convenient.

Very kid friendly atmosphere. Your kids will love the water park and be exhausted by end of day. Lots of fun and comfortable rooms. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Restaurant food is good and lots of variety for adults and kids alike. Buffet is awesome and lots to choose from. Our little guy found it to be a fun experience and wanted to stay! Rooms are a bit dated but still well kept. Only felt that the pool area could have more staff around for wiping up water and cleaning through the day. We had a pool view and also felt that more attention to end of day cleaning could have been much better than the 15 min spent. Was a Very busy place during spring Break but kiddo had an amazing time. Definitely recommend!

We chose this hotel for the pool but we were pretty grossed out by the water as it was not clean at all! There was black mold on the walls in the bathroom. I also don't appreciate a knock on the door at 8:30 from house keeping asking when we are leaving when check out is not till 11.

This hotel advertises Airport Shuttle. When we arrived at the airport and called the hotel for a shuttle, they said it hasn't been offered since the beginning of Covid. Most other hotels we have stayed at offer a taxi voucher when airport shuttles aren't available. It is a $25 cab ride one way from the airport, so this is an extra $50 we weren't planning on. When you've spent already spent $196.19 a night to stay in this hotel, this is an annoyance. The fact that they are using Covid as an exuse still at the end of March 2022 is lame, considering all the restrictions have been lifted everywhere. For the price they are charging for a room at this hotel, guests should be offered a taxi voucher. They also could have changed the wording on all their hotel descriptions online so they are not false advertising.

Satisfied with the service at the front desk and in the restaurant. The pool was a big draw for the guests. The waterslide was very busy as it was spring break for all the kids. The hotel has improved the internet and tv channels since my trips after Covid have increased,

The cabana rooms are not worth it. The room was dark dingy and felt like a basement suite. They put carpet in a room with pool access, needless to say the carpet was wet when we got there and pretty much stayed wet the whole time. They rooms on the higher floors are nicer.

For the price we paid this was a good mini staycation. The room was clean and a decent size plus the pool was fun. The hotel was sold out so the pool got really busy at times but we seemed to be leaving just as it really filled up so didn't impact us too much. The only reason for the 4* was due to walkability. For restaurants (other than the lounge or buffet options) we had to drive other than that a good stay.

Great place for kids, great pool with slides and a kiddie pool too. Felt like a very safe location with lots of parking and really close to the airport. Front desk was helpful and friendly, will choose again next time we're in Calgary.

Every staff member is this hotel went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay! The room, pool, fitness area and restaurant were all clean and enjoyable. The extra help provided was always done with a smile and "anything else"? We will be looking for a Best Western to stay at for all of our future travels due to our experience here.

March 2022 We stayed for one night and chose this place because of the waterpark (we have been there before) We got joining rooms on the main floor, they were in need of some reno's but they were clean. Rooms had a mini fridge and microwave and two queen beds in each room. Be aware there is noise from planes as it is close to the airport and seems to be right on the path of many flights going over, I was woken a few times in the night they were so loud. The waterpark is lots of fun. There is a toddler area with it's own small slide and wading pool, and then two large waterslides in the other pool. The yellow one is covered and dark but the blue one is open the hole way. There are two hot tubs, the other one is a bit out of sight behind the waterslides. The pool area could use some attention to cleaning at the end of the night, the same wristbands and Kleenex were on the stairs the next day and the pool water was looking pretty murky the next morning. There were always plenty of towels. There is a restaurant in the hotel called the Sky Harbour Lounge, it has a very reasonable buffet breakfast for $37 for 2 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty to choose from and I would say it was well worth the price. There is a bar in the hotel as well. It was a fun night away and I would recommend it for family's looking for a waterpark.

We were welcomed with big smiles, our room was clean, WIFI pw was provided with check in, pool was fun and the buffet is amazing! Our kids were happy with the hotel, the price was perfect as well. We would visit again :)

We have stayed at Best Western Plus Port O'Call Hotel a few times previously. On this occasion we had two rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. Underground parking is a plus especially in the winter. Will no doubt be staying again later in the year.

The staff were absolutely lovely. Easy check in & were able to accommodate early check in. The rooms were dated, but clean. The bed was so incredibly hard that neither my husband or I had restful sleeps. I wound up taking all the pillows and laying on top of them to try and get more comfortable. The kids had tons of fun in the water park. It looked very dated compared to the pictures on their website. Bordering dirty. The toddler wading pool didn't even have the same slide/play structure as shown in the pictures. The restaurant was slightly a frustrating experience. We went there for a total of 3 meals. The food was typical buffet hotel food, with lots of kids friendly options which was nice. the service was absolutely terrible! You would wait at the front entrance for a lengthy time before a server/hostess would acknowledge your presence & seat you. Once seated, you would wait a very long time before someone would take your drink order. My husband was on his second plate of food before anyone took our drink orders. Refills? Ha, forget about it. Overall, It was a meh experience. We chose this hotel solely for the water park. There are other Calgary hotels with less dated & cleaner looking waterparks that we will revisit instead. Great price point if you're looking for a cheap water park weekend though!

I have no words to thank Angela enough for the extraordinary/superior/prime/fantastic service! She went above and beyond to make sure I would have a spectacular stay. Angela was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly and kind!

I recently rented a bunch of rooms with family and friends to celebrate my birthday and Port O'Call Hotel and everyone, especially Robin, went above and beyond my expectations. The waterslides were a hit with the kids and the adults had just as much fun. Everything you needed was in the hotel and the staff were fantastic and very accommodating. I am so grateful to Robin who helped me keep my group of 50 people organized, with 13 room bookings, so we could all be on the same floor. He helped me with ordering food and letting me know what amenities were available on-site. Robin allowed my group a late check out at 1pm so we could enjoy breakfast in the restaurant and swim some more. Robin and his team went above and beyond all our needs and they were very accommodating and very friendly. I can't wait to come back with all my family and friends again.

It's been a few years since being down, figured the water park would be good for the kids. Water is fun and fine but I cringed thinking about updated Tetanus shots as the whole stairs up to the water slides is rusting out. Looks gross. The furniture is aging and the pull out coach had no useable mattress. The hotel was really good and had the foam mattress to substitute so my review isn't all bad. The staff is fantastic and generally a great place, they just need a couple upgrades.

Our stay was from December 31 to January 2, 2022. My family and I had a great time. The pool area is amazing for kids. The dinning is perfect. Can basically go down for breakfast and head right to the pool. I'm a travel agent and I love staying at this location with my family. Great work Port O'call. Great work Mo to you and your staff keep up the great work. Also, I like booking my clients to this location.

I always consider the overall conditions when giving my review, especially during this Pandemic situation...crazy right! Anyway, I felt that all the staff were doing their best to try and keep everyone comfortable within the Restrictions placed. It was greatly appreciated!

They treat us with love and kindness, we have been staying with them for years! I love the heated parking for my vehicle. The Jetz Lounge has great food! The front desk is always there for me, especially Robin and Moe, they are so kind, they treat me 1st class! I'm always so happy to see them. My only wish was that they had their shuttle service up and running, it cost me alot for taxi to airport for departure and arrival, well over $50.00 for both.

Usually the best place to stay and check in this time left sour taste in my mouth. The lady wasn't very nice. She took forever. And first wouldn't accept debit until the other guy came over and said we can take it. We stay here every year for Christmas and never had an issues at check in till today. As for the rest of the stay it was great. Rooms are nice and big. The kids love both pools (waterslide one was a little cold). Also love the underground parking option. Just hope the lady at the desk was having a bad day and it's not her usually service she offers.

The hotel was clean, tidy and well maintained but a few little things showing its age (exhaust fan not working for example). Pool was awesome for the kids. Parking was amazing and great especially for winter. The hotel was close to everything we were doing, Zoo, Telus Spark, Cross Iron Mills were all withon 10 minutes. Close to the airport, which if air traffic was at normal levels might be noisy (but also very close to the airport for a stay). The restaraunt was excellent with great family breakfast options. All in all a really good place to stay for a family weekend getaway.

Our room was a little dated, but really clean. It had everything we needed. The kids loved the waterpark. Staff should be a little better trained in first aid as one of the kids cut themselves. We loved the Christmas decorations in the lobby. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I should suggest ordering in as the buffet was not great.

My daughter always have a great time with her friends each time I book and overnight get together with her friends To top it off they always enjoy the good buffet breakfast and I don't have to worry on what to feed this teenager as Skyharbour offer an amazing buffet.

My family and I enjoyed our stay but the service we received from the kitchen staff wasn't encouraging. We will definitely come back. The underground parking makes our stay more fun. The room is well organized and equipped for the stay.

We were booked to stay for three nights and left after the first. The first thing I noticed at check in was how extremely busy the hotel was and kids were running around all over the place with no masks on. When they took my information at the front desk, they never did ask for my husband's vaccination record which made me uneasy. The room was clean but quite run down. The pool was incredibly over packed and the water was freezing ! There were signs everywhere to social distance but no limit on how many could be in the pool area at the same time.

We had our daughters 18th birthday in this hotel Since day one the general manager and the staff are already friendly until we finish the event. Food was great and our rooms are clean. we definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Overall stay is like your in your home. I love the swimming pool it's nice to relax and enjoy ! The parking as well very satisfied with the service cool staff . The cleanliness is awesome and I did have a good sleep

Pool is amazing for the whole family. Pasta night buffet on Fridays a hit for everyone after the pool. You need to be aware that you need a room key to get to your car in the parking lot even after check out

We spent two nights here on thanksgiving weekend. The rooms were nice and big, easily able to blow up an extra queen mattress. The water slides and pool were fantastic. My 10yo and 7yo were able to go down both slides in their own. The separate pool area was nice to get away from the craziness of the slide area. We will likely stay here every time we come to Calgary.

Love love the waterpark and the pool area. Amazing staff at Sky Harbour Restaurant. Front desk were very helpful and friendly. you will feel very welcomed. Internet is a little bit slow though. Nice ambience

We had two rooms on the thanksgiving weekend. The rooms were great and my granddaughter loved the pool complex. The staff in the hotel, the Jetz bar and the Skyharbour grill were all excellent and very friendly. Would certainly recommend this hotel and will be staying again soon.

The hotel itself is standard, but it's relatively clean (save for the brown ring of dirt in our bathtub), the beds are comfy, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the pool of course was a hit with the kids. The pool water was warm and the entire deck was clean, though more chairs and youth life jackets are needed for how busy it is. There were possibly two, with two adult and about eight infant. The breakfast buffet is a great deal, but the dinner pasta/pizza buffet was lackluster, bland and too expensive--not something we'd recommend. The hotel is centrally-located to lots of attractions, but as it's in an industrial area, most of the nearby restaurants cater to businesses and close before dinner. We would stay here again.

I Booked for my daughters birthday and went with another family. We booked three rooms and were able to have two of them adjoining. The girls had their own room and lived it and I felt at ease knowing they were right beside me just thru the door! They loved the water park and their room. The staff was great and we had a great experience! We do not stay at hotels a lot, but will definitely book again for a mini staycation!

BW Port o' Call is a great hotel to stay. I enjoyed a king suite with hot tub and balcony. Very nice and relaxing. The dinner buffet was modes, understandable due to covid restrictions but the staff were great!

We had a great stay a few small maintenance issues in the room, nothing that took away from our experience. The water park was why we booked and it didn't disappoint! They staff were kind and courteous answered all questions, even a few times before we arrived through phone calls.

You might choose this hotel for the waterslide but it was overrun and not enjoyable. The rooms were run down and not cleaned well AT ALL and there are no working bathroom fans! First and last trip - we won't be staying here again.

After much research and keeping a budget for a trip to Alberta, I picked the Port O Call hotel. It was the right decision for the quality and advantages it offered. We rented a car and being close to the airport due to late arrival, was the right choice. Downtown us only 10 minutes away and much more expensive. The hotel offered a nice ambiance, excellent wholesome breakfast, free indoor heated parking and nice beds. The bonus was two sinks one in the room and the second in the bathroom. It was a great choice for a family trip. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any visitors in Calgary.

Decided to go with the higher priced place and room as a splurge but was really let down. Room was listed as a suite which was our whole basis for booking it so we could have our own areas. We had requested a higher floor but was given one on the very bottom level. When we got to the room it was not a suite but just a larger hotel room with a single bed. We went back to the front desk and let them know that we may have been given the wrong room type and was told “the room you booked are all in use and not available”. We decided we'd deal with it and went on. When we got back to the room and tried to settle in we realized how terrible it was (especially when you consider the price we paid). Door handles sat loose in the doors so if you used them to open the doors they would just pop right out, door hinge to fridge was completely snapped in 2 so it hangs on by the bottom hinge only, sliding mirror door for the closet doesn't fit in it's track so it just rolls on the floor and would randomly slide out from under itself, blown lightbulbs, jacuzzi was visibly dirty, shower was super tiny with a busted door, towels were raggedy with unravelling edges. During our second day there we came back after an outing and the cleaning staff had blocked off the door with their carts. Late in the night they came knocking at the door to give us a remote that was not requested. We were yelled at coming in by the Same staff that checked us in the day before because i was walking in with my service dog (who had been with me the whole time). And the pool was so jam packed that we couldn't even take advantage of that either. The room itself looked like it was put together by a broke college student. The tv was bolted to what used to be an armoire that they had clearly removed the doors from. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, but this one was definitely one of the worst.

This hotel was recommended to me by friends, but also through social media in local parenting groups, etc. I have to say, after my experience, I would not do the same. Here are a few reasons for this: the pool and hot tub did not have consistent temperatures, and varied throughout my 2 night stay (over the course of 4 separate swims), the room was lacking a hotel safe, the window would not open, so we were left to only cool the room by using the built in ac... it would start up and run incredibly loudly off and on through the night leaving us with a very disrupted sleep. Also, the toilet seat was slightly broken so it would shift when you sat on it. The fine details of making the room ready for new guest presentation where also overlooked, for example, the cups for drinking or the coffee station were not replenished so we had to call up for some. All in all, none of these on their own were a deal breaker, but combined, for the price of $170/night, I will explore other options in Calgary going forward.

This hotel is very family oriented. The rooms, menus and breakfast family special made things very easy for us. We used room service for several meals and the menu was appropriately sized and priced for families. My only issue was the lack of crowd control in the water park. On the evening of our first night, it was very crowded which was a concern due to covid 4th wave. I have been vaccinated, but it was still a concern. the following 2 days were much better during the day when people were out sightseeing. It was interesting to watch plane traffic as the hotel was near the south end of the Calgary airport. It was not particularly noisy.

This hotel is close to the airport! Amazing staff always clean and very accommodating for children! Coffee is strong so if your need a really good wake up call they have the best for that!! 2 swimming areas underground locked parking can't beat that!! Not mentioning your close to a Tim Hortons and lots of restaurants! And let's talk about lounges my kids die for the nachos from the lounge and kids are allowed till 10 then put them to bed and have a couple after a long day!!

Our association hosted a conference for 75 participants. Over the course of the two days we had numerous opportunities to interact with the staff at the Port O'Call. They were all courteous, helpful, and professional. The venue and food were fabulous, and the hotel was clean and modern.

We are in a pandemic. Buffet style breakfast that was self serve, meaning all patrons had their hands on dishes, food, silverware etc. When we arrived in our room clothing articles from a previous guest was left in our bathroom. The entire time we stayed, I never seen anyone clean the elevators, or door handles. While my grandchildren were swimming in the pool, another child vomited in the pool. I advised the front desk, and they did nothing about it. Again we are in a pandemic, They never vacated the clients from the pool.

Me and my husband booked a one night stay with our 3 children, aged 3-6. The room was nice, and clean. My kids had such a great time at the pool, we had equally as much fun. Very family friendly and I would highly recommend it.

We had a great stay at this hotel. It was great for kids and had everything we needed for our 2 nights. There were a couple minor problems like the remote not working and a mix up with the nachos we ordered for room service but they were quickly rectified and I was impressed with how they handled it all. We will definitely be staying here on our next stay in the city.

We stayed at this hotel in June 2021. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the 2 rooms I had. I was also disappointed in the lack of response we got from the hotel. I just wanted to update my review and say that they reached out to me and apologized for the lack of cleanliness and for their lack of response. Because of this I would go back to this hotel and give them another chance.

While the rooms, meals, lounge, appearance and staff support was great the waterpark area left me concerned on safety. There were too many people allowed in the hot tub and waterslide area of the pool. There were numerous collisions and lots of children using the waterslide unwisely. More supervision was needed.

We stayed here on a quick visit to family. The location is great coming from Edmonton and easy to get to other areas of Calgary. We wish that you could book pool time, but it is first come first serve, even though a pandemic is going on. The front desk staff were friendly and quick to help out. Our two queen bed room was large and gave our family of four enough space.

I stayed in the king room with a jetted tub. The room was very nice. The jetted tub was amazing. Initially it was not working but when I reported that issue the maintenance crew immediately resolved the problem (a breaker was off) It would have been nice to have information in the room about what amenities are available, the hours of the restaurants and pool, menus, etc.

The staff, pool, restaurant and bed was very good. Would've liked a buffet dinner offered at the hotel during the week only offered on the weekends. Overall, a very clean, well managed hotel. We will be back!

Everything at this hotel was great, from staff to the pool to the amazing deal for a buffet breakfast at the restaurant. Only issue we had was in the evening when we tried to watch TV the connection was really bad and a lot of the channels were glitchy. Overall a great Stay as we were mainly there for the pool and waterslides!

We were told to visit this hotel based on the waterpark and it did not disappoint. The waterside are great for kids. HOWEVER, the pool was packed! To the point you could not swim without bumping into someone. The breakfast buffet is expensive in my opinion. It's basically a contention breakfast but you are being charged 35.00. Nothing to write about. Bacon. Eggs. Sausage. Pancakes. Fruit. But for that price it should be included. The rooms are outdated. I think this hotel needs a bit of an upgrade but you go there for the pool. As much as we enjoyed ourselves, I don't think we will be back based on how busy this hotel is with and the pools being jammed packed.

Clean and great place to stay. Front desk are so helpful finding room for Us. I was looking at third party website for availability won't give Us room in short notice. Call them for availability they where happy to assist.

According to the Hotel's website, "Social distancing measures are in place and Property confirms they are implementing guest safety measures" I can confirm that was NOT true when we stayed there over the August long weekend. The buffet and Pool areas were not following any form of social distancing, nor were there any hotel staff present at the pool to control the number of people coming in and the pool area was dangerously full and was busy from 8 am until 10 pm. The rooms were loud from the heater/air conditioner even if you shut it off, you can hear it from the next suite.

The hotel itself was average, the room was your average airport hotel room with worn down furniture. It was nice to have a second sink outside the bathroom and the bathtub was deep. There was no take-out menu, phone book or room service information available and renting any movie to your room was over $30. The Restaurant appeared to only be open for breakfast buffet and they were out of various items with the promise it would be right out, then after waiting in line again...all out. There was cereal and yogurt but no spoons. The lineup was crazy with ZERO social distancing and the food wasn't anything special. Our Biggest concern was the swimming pool area, Forget the fact we are coming out of a pandemic (Covid19) , Social distancing can be difficult at a pool but the pool area had to have been well over its capacity with nowhere for the majority of people outside the pool to sit (it appeared there were families of 10 there to watch 2 kids) , was a waiting period to get on the slides with people lined up all three flights of stairs and There were No lifeguards present or hotel staff to enforce any rules as the pool and pool area were dangerously crowded and this Best Western Location should be ashamed of how out of control it was. There has to be some sort of pool capacity, health and safety or even fire code rule in effect that was clearly violated. We chose this location for the pool but will not return due to its lack of responsibility.

I was very disappointed with this Best Western. We had 2 room. In one room we found a bandaid in the bed. The second room we found dirty socks that did not belong to us and the closet door was broken. I mentioned these to one of the clerks at the desk and she did nothing. I also mention Ed this at check out and again nothing was done. Not even a sorry yo hear about that. I even emailed Best Western the day we left and never heard anything. Next time I go to Calgary I will find a different chain to stay at. Very disappointed that they never reached out.

We really needed a get away after the covid restrictions were lifted and along with another family booked into Port of Call Best Western Calgary. The children loved the water slides & pool!! We were able to purchase discount tickets to Calaway Park there! The hotel staff are awesome, the rooms were very clean and of a decent size. Any request you have I'm sure if able, they will accommodate. Definitely be back here soon!

The hotel was convenient, clean & the staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast was good with enough choices. The kids enjoyed the pancakes, French toast & fruit. The scrambled eggs were a bit wet though. The kids loved the pool & waterslides! The a/c was a bit noisy but after a full day we slept quite well. Would definitely stay here again.

Check in staff pulled up and printed wrong reservation information, despite me giving her my printed copy and my credit card. One of rooms we requested was wrong, had to then redo our room assignment. Door keys didn't work, had to wait almost 1/2 hour for front staff to return to reset my door reader and provide me with working keys. Meanwhile the rest of my family went to the pool without me. One of our rooms was missing glasses and coffee mugs. Hallways were not clean. Made me wonder how clean our room really was. Air conditioner didn't work properly, room was too warm. Overall not what I expected from a Best Western.

We have stayed here numerous times in the past. This is the first time since restrictions have been lifted so decided to hit Calgary during stampede and go to Jubilations dinner theater. As all the times in the past we were treated like old friends. We have never stayed on the top floor before and the front end staff recommended changing our usual room to one with a better view of the city and mountains loved it . Breakfast in the dining room was great as usual,great to see our old friend is still the concierge. Great job guys

Waterslide and pool are big, I like that they have a small pool for toddlers. Lobby is clean and decent. We stayed in a two superior queen beds room, its clean and beds are comfy. Staff is friendly and informative. Location is okay. We will stay here again!

Best Western Plus Port O'Call Hotel always nice and clean and located in a convenient location. Have a comfortable mattress and soft fluffy pillow. Front Desk Staff on duty were very polite and accommodating. The price is always affordable and reasonable. My kids enjoyed the slides & pool. I highly recommend BW Plus Port O'Call

Food was gross got room the 1st night because i was checking in late and i got the chicken fingers and they were burnnnntt and then my wife got the fish and it was under cooked and gross buffet was horrible and the swimming pool water was ice cold like a lake water

The pool is fantastic. Great for kids of all ages. Was told a crib would be in our room for my infant, double checked a few hours before arrival and when we got to our room there was no crib. After our 3rd day and no room cleaning we asked for more towels and came back to ohr room to find a bag of towels thrown on the bathroom counter

We booked this hotel for the pool. I called a day prior to check in to book a pool time For Friday when we arrived. We were told we can't until we get there. When we got there there was no available times. Frustrating

This hotel has been my home away from home for the past 6 months, all the staff are amazing and treat me like one of their family. Words cannot express how well they treated me during my stays. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for a family trip. The room was a decent size, a bit dated and nothing special. The TV had terrible picture and quality, and the image was frequently fuzzy or frozen, or said it had no signal. 1 of the water slides was broke and couldn't be repaired on the weekend apparently which was quite disappointing since that was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The kiddie pool was a good temperature one day and freezing cold the next. Due to Covid you had to book a 45 min pool time for each day, so having 1 water slide unuseable meant the other one was very lined up and your 45 minutes passed quickly with only a few trips down the one slide. I'm not sure why they just wouldn't have some spare parts on hand in order to repair breakdowns. Seems like poor planning. For that reason I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel amenities are well known in Calgary but what really stood out was the way the staff conducted themselves. Everyone was helpful, and friendly and made the experience all the more enjoyable. The room was fantastic and was just what we needed (a separate room for our kids to sleep in) One downside was the sofa bed wasn't overly comfortable. Pool is superb, and the food is great value. Once we had checked in, we didn't leave until checkout. Made everything really convenient.

We took our kids here for a family weekend at a hotel with a pool and water park and it was a huge hit. The kids loved the waterslides and pool, which had to be booked for 45 minute blocks. I thought this was fine for our family with young kids but people with older kids might want a longer time. The room was comfy and actually pretty huge. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean and neat. The covid protocols were good but didn't get in the way of anything. We would go back again for a nice few days away.

Management upgraded my room as I was spending 13-14 hours a day at the Lougheed hospital with my mom who has ALS. Mom needed to stay there longer than expected sadly, so Angela extended my reservation in the same room with a 3pm check out as it was day by day. My length of stay depended on the doctors and the Team at Port O Call went above and beyond.! Will definitely be back. Thank you.

top notch service. have stayed here many times over years. always a great stay. Rooms were large and comfy. We always try and stay in honeymoon suite as this room is the most comfortable. Restaurant food was excellent. You will not be disappointed.

We visited during the pandemic with our little ones. We were very happy to see our room had a jetted tub. The children loved the rooms. The food was excellent! Breakfast was great. The staff was so kind during our pool time. A great option for families visiting Calgary.

First of, I would like to commend Rene, Faiz and Ratika of the Front Desk for their warm hospitality. Me and my family feels so welcome from the time I called to book up to our check out. Our room is clean and has a nice view and their waterpark is the best. My son, who celebrated his 8th birthday there says he would give them a 5 star. I encouraged everyone to stay and experience their service and waterpark. Special shoutout also to Parminder who made sure that our room is covid free. We will for sure book again.

Booked a night as a late birthday celebration for our 8 year old. Overall the stay was fine. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 315pm (check in at 3), not a huge deal but with 3 very excited kids it was mildly inconvenient to sit in our vehicle and wait for 20 minutes until it was. The room was nice enough, could have been cleaner (considering that why we had to wait to check in) My kids found a toy from the last occupants, shelves on the murph bed were dusty, the fridge was filthy, not really things I'd expect when cleaning protocols are increased due to Covid. We were going to order from the restaurant but found the menu over priced and underwhelming so we went with SkipTheDishes. The kids had a wonderful time at the pool. Water was great, slides fun and overall it was a really fun time. Staff is friendly and the hotel itself (from what I saw) is nice. As I said, our stay overall was fine but for the price of the room (no breakfast and 45 minute swim) we will likely book elsewhere next time.

This is a very nice hotel, located close to the airport. They have a big indoor pool area with 2 waterside which is great for kids. Breakfast is not included which is disappointing but the restaurant at the hotel is very good with huge portion sizes (my sons kids meal was the same size as an adult meal). Overall a nice stay.

This hotel is the best, the staff there go above & beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible very friendly staff, food in their restaurant/lounge was very good, I would defiantly recommend this place to my friends and family ❤️

Great place to stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Some services/amenities were not available but not hotels fault, I suspect that they are Covid related restrictions. Restaurant wasn't open the first night and breakfast wasn't available which is amazing here.

I picked this hotel since it was close to the airport hoping I could save money on using their airport shuttle service. Unfortunately the airport shuttle is no longer available due to. Covid. Funny enough taxis are still available? Spent an extra $30 on taxis that could have been avoided if I would have stayed elsewhere. There was a random weird vibration in the ceiling every couple minutes. No bottled water in the room upon arrival. Internet was painfully slow the short time I spent trying to use it. So slow it was unusable even to load a webpage. Eventually it seemed to speed up but by that point it was time for bed anyway.

The room was clean and the beds were so comfortable. I was able to come up for work and not worry about my family as they were able to have fun at the hotel and be comfy. The service was absolutely amazing as the staff is professional, friendly and thoughtful.

The employee culture is comparison to a high end hotel as they are friendly and attentive to the customer needs. I expected a 3 star hotel as that is usually the experience at a BWH. The recently renovated exterior, lobby, restaurant and guest rooms is what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The business centre makes conducting work easy And convenient. The exercise, sauna and pools are a great feature after a busy day of work. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very friendly staff. Stayed during Covid 19. Staff did everything they could to accommodate for families wanting to use the pool. It was too bad that breakfast had to be cancelled because this hotel usually has a good breakfast. Room was clean. No coffee makers in rooms during Covid. Definitely will stay again.

My experience while staying at the Best Western was top notch service! When I called on the phone to enquire the girl was so nice. She gave me the room for a great price! While at the Best Western when I checked in. I had the option to go to the pool. It was by appointment only. But, still a nice option to have during covid. The temperature of the water was so nice. The girl who was so nice to me on the phone was working in the pool area. She remembered me, and started talking to me. She was so friendly! I was impressed that she remembered me, and started talking to me. The sevice was top notch! My experience at Best Western was top notch! I would 100% stay there again before choosing any other hotel!

I have always loved this hotel and it is my first choice for a staycation. It has upgraded drastically in the last few years. It was very clean and the service was excellent. The front desk staff was very friendly and made check in very easy. We went to the restaurant for dinner before swimming in the pool. Food was amazing and the service was great.

I have been celebrating my daughter's birthday parties here and it awesome. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, kind, and funny. The staff truly ensures we enjoyed great hotel experiences in the very clean property, restaurant, lounge, fitness center, ease in parking our car and the incredible pool and water park center. We took a weekend break with our extended family and selected the Port Of Call because of location and swimming pool / water slides for the grandchildren. Rooms were clean and evident of compliance with Covid protocols . Free heated underground parking is a big plus

Angela at the front desk was the reason we booked another night. Her actual care factor was over and above. During our stay she was amazing and then when we got home and realized we forgot our Firestick in the TV she had the room checked and sent it to us. The restaurant is great and the water park is awesome for kids. During Covid they have the check in policy and are doing the best they can. Parking is a little far away for a lot of people. The rate was great and would stay there again for the rate and for the kids. There Is quite a bit for fast food about 5 min away driving and there is a Tims across the street. The hotel restaurant was better though. It's about 15 min or $25 cab ride to airport.

Found dirt in room, inside bathroom had dirt running up it, thought it was stain or so.ething so I used a damp face cloth and it came off? Restaraunt service was great and we saw cleaning. Decor was very nice inside and out. Quiet at night.

We have stayed here about 5 tines and love it every time. We went for two nights with kids 8,5,2 for two nights during Covid for a getaway. Breakfast vouchers with a great room rate (139/149 a night including breakfast) gets you a huge breakfast, plate service due to Covid. Excellent service and coffee - remember to bring a tip :) The pool is hands down my kids favourite of all pools it has two great slides plus a toddler area and slide. They have life jackets or bring your own. The place was empty during the week and they clean the whole place every hour between bookings, I think we went for 5 bookings over our stay! We don't even leave the hotel to eat as Jets Lounge has really great food (pizza and $8 huge kids meals) and a six hour happy hour plus it's super chill for kids. They sell zoo tickets there $19 for adults $13 for kids and you do not have to book a timed entry with the hotel vouchers you can just show up at the zoo. I recommend this place for any mom looking for a Covid vacation! Very clean and great experience every time!

What an amazingly great hotel! We had the best time here-staff is super courteous and extremely efficient. The 2 restaurants had really good food with fast room service. The room was huge with a view of the airport runway. The topper was water park! It was extremely clean with Covid cleaning implemented every 45 minutes. They only allowed a certain number of people in at a time so booking your time slot is mandatory. I can't wait to go back in a few weeks.

We love our staycation in Best Western Port O Call. We could have stayed for few more nights. Rooms are nice and clean, staffs are very helpful and friendly. The best part...is the Waterpark/pools. My kids really had a blast. We will surely comeback

Loved this hotel, the room was very spacious and clean. We booked this hotel because of the waterslides and the price was good. The kids had a blast at the pool. Wish we got longer then 45 min time slot but it was worth it. L The pool water was nice and warm. We will be back!

Hotel is decent. Rooms are relatively spacious and clean. My concern is the way the pool is managed. Upon check in, you can book a 45 minute time slot, then the pool is closed for cleaning. I thought this sounded good, so we booked for 8 pm. I guess a lot of other families felt the same because it was crowded. There was no social distancing. We turned around and left. At the front lobby we asked about the numbers and they said they allow 15 rooms per hour. Well, at 4 people per room, this is potentially 60 people. The funny thing is the pool rules list a maximum capacity of 52! There was also no questionnaire on Covid exposure prior to entering the pool. To be fair, we booked a 3 pm slot the next day, and it was far less busy. I just think the maximum capacity during these times should be much lower. Ultimately we are all responsible for our own choices, but this may help others who are deciding where to stay in Calgary.

This is the ideal place to stay if travelling with children. It is located next to the airport and is great value for money. The waterpark is well-regulated and lots of fun for any age. The breakfast was delicious and made to order. The rooms were very comfortable.

We stopped overnight for one night here. Room was big and clean. Food was good: we ordered room service dinner and everyone enjoyed theirs. Staff were friendly. Pool with the slides was a big hit with the kids, they loved it.

As a family we loved the pool protocols to keep everyone safe !!! Excellent cleaning every 1 hour at the pool. kids had lots of room to play and slide in the water. The staff at this location are amazing !!!!!! They work so hard to make everyones stay excellent!!!! BEST EVER !!!

scary traveling with COVID out there.Yet staff greeted you with a smile Rooms spotless, Jet lounge served the upmost delicious meal. Would always recommend this place. Quiet rooms, great amenities. Can't beat the helpfulness of staff. Kids that I saw sure enjoyed the amazing water slide.

Honestly, I expect a little more of hotels in regards to cleanliness with COVID around. I was disappointed to see that the windows in our room had handprints all over it, the elevators weren't sanitized regularly (visible handprints), and I was shocked that they still provided toiletries and cups in the room. We had stayed at another best western earlier in the week and it was very clear that Port O Call missed the memo on taking measures to stop the spread. Covid aside, the floors were still filthy and there were yellow stains on our bedspread. We won't be staying here again.

We had never stayed at this property before. Great facility, right by the airport so a bit of noise from planes taking off and landing, but nothing too troublesome. Our first room had a broken television, but we were immediately moved to a room with a working television - no other issues at all during our stay. There is a fairly active water park, which of course means there are a lot of children running up and down the hallways. Not a concern for us, but might be for some. My only regret - I was unaware the hotel had a Squash court - would have loved to get in some games. Excellent, extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Quiet. Peaceful. Very comfortable beds. Friendly helpful front desk staff. Convenient restaurant on premises. Food was delicious. Water park looks so fun although we did not have time to take advantage of this amenity.

My car broke down between Vancouver and Ottawa the part to fix it would take 4 days to arrive. Hello Best Western. Check in was a breeze with no reservation, staff was polite and professional and the Port O Call made what could have been a terrible week into something enjoyable.

I've stayed here before but this visit was rough right from the start. With things being slow b/c of COVID I was expecting a way nicer stay. At check in they gave me the wrong room, had to switch and then they had me for only 1 night when I had booked for 2. Got a phone call at 4 pm asking when we were going to check out only to inform them that I had booked for 2 nights. Hot water wasn't working either - had to wait 1/2 an hour to fill up our tub. We weren't offered anything special to make up for all the mistakes either - I would have appreciated if a staff member would even have asked how our stay went.

All right was great my daughter thought that she was a princess receipt it's not that fancy with her child it was probably pretty special for staff is great pleasant very helpful very clean hotel nothing out of place

The concert we went to see was cancelled. The people we had contacted were not available so we spent more time at the hotel than usual. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The water park pool made the weekend - warm, fun for all. The water slides are good, the kiddie pool is excellent. We will go back. This is an older hotel that is in great shape, very well updated.

Very nice stay with pleasant professional staff in all areas of the hotel. Food and beverage areas had great quality and quantity for a fair price. The interior has been renovated quite recently, so is a modern Best Western.

My wife and I go to Mexico every year for around a month. for the past 2 years we have stayed at the BW Plus Port of Call. It has a shuttle to and from the Airport. But the thing we like the best is the restaurant and lounge! Jenny in the restaurant is the best!! She actually CARES about you and would do anything to make your experience in the dining room better! In the lounge the service was great and really cared about us and not serving us any Gluten (celiac) Great for kids! Indoor pool

This hotel was nice, clean, friendly and fun. The only downside to this hotel was that there was no continental breakfast. And the outside parking is way off to the side of the hotel. The waterpark was a pot of fun for the whole family.

Room was in need of desperate repair. Wallpaer peeling off, shower curtain missing and old food found along the beds. When I complained I was told "sorry about that" with no offer to rectify any of the concerns.

We stayed as a family for 1 night with kids aged 1 and 3. Hotel shows it's age, we knew that going in but chose based on the pool. Pool is great but was absolutely insane on Friday at 3:30 pm when we went. At least 60 people at the time. Hot tub is small and there wasn't a place you could have even squeezed in. Not sure if it's always like that but keep that in mind if your not up for mass chaos. Front desk was helpful and friendly. No complaints there. Cleanliness of the room was underwhelming - we found garbage that was missed under the bed (ranch container and stuff from pizza). Close proximity to restaurants was nice. Keep in mind this is by the airport so occasionally you'll hear planes. I'd stay somewhere else next time.

Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Unfortunately there was blood on the shower curtain. I did mention it to Rene, who said he would have housekeeping change it. They did not. When I complained again he said he forget to tell the housekeeping staff. They were also understaffed for check in. If you have kids they will enjoy the water slides if you don't, stay somewhere else.

The hotel surpassed my expectations! The waterpark was amazing for our family and the staff was super friendly. Like a little vacation resort that you don't have to leave. Will definitely be back again.

If you stay here ask for the higher floors 6 or 7. Avoid room 333 you will be looking at a cement wall! Moved to 639 beautiful view of Calgary and the airport. Hot tubs were awesome, water slides fun.

Having been a frequent business traveller and now retired, I have to say that this is the Go To Hotel when in Calgary on business or pleasure. I have used the Port O'Call since 1985 a few years after it was opened. They have always kept up with the changes in life styles and the Hotel has been upgraded many times. We got out for a night away and had a fantastic stay in a beautiful upgraded room. We got out for a night away from the kids and had a nice relaxing stay... but once we saw the water park we know we will be back with the kids next time for a fun family staycation!

Rooms are veryg strong shower. Pool is open late, has 2 slides, 2 hot tubs and a little kids pool with separate slide. Breakfast buffet is fantastic! Staff have always been and happy,polite and helpful.

We were going to Canmore but when we got to our hotel they informed us the pools were closed checked a few other hotels they had there pools shut down and we desired to go to CALGARY, been a long time since we went to the port o call, never new they had such a awesome pool area. The place was very nice everything was clean and we had a very fun night with our grandson as he played on the water slides and kid pool. I have no complaints. In the end I am glad we decided to go to CALGARY and found this hotel, we will stay again next time we are in the area!

From check in to check out our stay was amazing. Angela and Rene (I think is his name) from the front desk were professional and friendly. We were there as my son had appointments at the children's hospital and this looked like the best kid friendly hotel in the city. After a very busy and mentally draining week, it was nice to walk into this hotel and feel like we were at home. The only suggestion I have is to maybe try and and find somewhere else to put all the coffee items as they take up a lot of the desk space and little hands like to explore. We will definitely be back.

I am never disappointed with this hotel and the staff. Everything, from the service, to the food, to the cleanliness of everything, it shows that the Best Western Port O'Call prides itself on serving it's customers.

Once we were able to actually check in (front desk continually accepting and dealt with phone calls while we were attempting to check in rather that place phone calls on hold to speak with a guest in front of them) we were impressed by the cleanliness and atmosphere. The pool was great the kids loved the wading area and the slides. Don't be bothered to attempt room service. My husband was hung up on by staff and we tried to order from both onsite locations (both saying it was the other locations time to fill orders).

We stayed at BW Port of Call Inn for two nights for a hospital appointment. The hotel is close to the hospital(10 min.) The staff were helpful and friendly and I would definitley stay there again.Thanks,BW

Had great service. I found the room to be very clean, the king bed I slept on was so comfy. Really good food. If you come visit the salon they will give you excellent service. I got a pedicure. And they treated me so well.

The staff and property has always been spot on. Every property can and will have issues but with the Port O'Call in Calgary these have always been VERY minor and address right away. The staff has always been accommodating if anything is needed. The Jetz Bar has good food, cold beer and drinks that are not short poured. The pool and slides is the way to go if traveling with your family as they are so much fun. Last is we travel with a service dog and there has never been a issue from the staff with this. The property does not take "pets" but welcome registered service dogs so it makes traveling with ours very easy.

We spent a night here during Christmas. They have a big water park aside from sauna and pool. No breakfast included on our night stay but price that day wasn't the pricey. There are lots of vending machine for soup, Tylenol, etc. Great staff... they allowed us to have late check in.

Myself and my 2 boys spent an evening in a pool side room. Great little "staycation" over the Christmas break. Having the pool and water slides right outside our door was very convenient with small kids. Kids could have the breaks and snacks they needed without having to pack up and travel up to their room. We will definitely do this type of getaway again

Great place. I always have great service at this hotel and the water park Is great for the kids. This is the only hotel we ever stay in when we are in town. It's in a great part of the city to do shopping as well.

Stayed here overnight on Christmas Day. I would like to personally thank Enrie (Guest Relations Agent) were very approachable and helpful. The room was clean and beds were comfy. The breakfast was good. I will definitely stay here again.

Great Hotel, very well set up and gave a very safe feeling environment. There are two pools, one great for kids and one more for adults. He had a lot of fun and the service was phenomenal! staff was very polite and very helpful.

We book this hotel every year because of location, facilities, and staff. The rooms are always clean, the beds comfortable, and amenities adequate. The children enjoy the waterslides and we all enjoy the breakfast buffet and the children enjoy the dinner buffet while the adults enjoy meals from the menu.

I stay at this hotel often (10 plus nights per year). The wonderful staff, clean rooms, excellent food, and efficient service are the key reasons I keep coming back. There is a positive atmosphere that starts right when you first check in, and continues throughout the stay. This hotel knows what it means to provide excellent service. Whether I'm hosting meetings at their location, or simply staying for a night, they put forward an excellent effort to meet the needs of their clientele.

A great place for families. The pool and water slides are great. We spent a lot of time there. The breakfast buffed is also very good. And the friendliness and helpfulness of staff was exceptional. We had a problem one evening, and they exceeded our expectations of how to solve it.

We really liked this hotel. My only comapkjt is that every best western plus that I have stayed at has the free breakfast. This one did not so we were surprised. Otherwise, the room and the hotel are very nice. Will stay here again.

This hotel is great for families. Something for everyone. Location is close to airport hospital and shopping. Rooms are clean staff is friendly. This has become our go to hotel in Calgary for our quarterly hospital visits at Alberta Children's Hospital.

We have been to this property several times and the Manager Prem Mishra has done a fantastic job ensuring his staff pay attention to details. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by one of the warmest, friendliest staff members Rene who remembered almost all of our details for check in. While we specifically requested the room we were assigned, the novelty of a four poster bed has worn off and we will ask for a different room next time. The room was very cost with an electric fireplace and a balcony with two chairs. We were able to watch the squirrels playing in and around the trees which is always fun. We still cannot understand why, after repeated notifications of the problem, one member of the dining room staff persists on wearing overpowering cologne, especially in a day and age where more and more people are suffering from allergies and places are advocating scent free environments accordingly. The breakfast buffet offers a large amount of fresh fruit and cereals as well as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, hash browns and generally some kind of vegetable. There are also a few types of juice and cottage cheese and a homemade muesli. The restaurant was fairly busy during this visit so coffee was scarce.

If you enjoy a clean comfortable hotel with helpful staff who care about their guests, do not hesitate to book at this property. Meeting rooms, restaurant, & bar offer great service. The breakfast buffet alone will exceed your expectations.

The Port O'Call is a great place to stay while in Calgary! The staff are friendly, the rooms lovely and the beds comfy and the food is delicious! I will definitely be staying at the Port O'Call again.

Perfect for family with kids. Water slides were the star attraction! Buffet breakfast was great value especially for children and offered something for everyone. We requested adjoining rooms in advance since we were with 4 children and upon arrival found out our rooms were on different floors. Staff was apologetic and was able to correct the mistake but as a result check in took a very long time even though we completed the online, advance check-in.

We don't travel lots, however we have come to really appreciate BW for quality and comfort wherever we go. The Port 0' Call Inn is a favourite, we feel at home here. The staff is awesome, and Mo remembers us months between visits. Everything is comfortable and right here.

Hotel staff were friendly and understanding. Room was clean and comfy. Only downfall of this place is it's right in the path of planes taking off and landing so it's loud and can rattle the place a bit.

Hotel staff go above and beyond but they can't fix the restaurant and the staff in the restaurant are helpless the restaurant management is a total waste of employment! Quality of food and lack of support staff give make the restaurant a failure!

The water park is obviously a huge attraction. But the rooms are very. comfortable, and up to date. We've been staying at the Port o Call for many years. Usually when we travel to Mexico. Because we park our vehicles indoors, and it's warm. Plus it has great security! It's not free, but very reasonably priced. And the shuttle is quick. We also take mini vacations their with our daughter and grandkids for a little time for the kids to blow off steam in the water park

Would have given 5 star rating, except the food in the restaurant was absolutely disgusting and quite expensive for what you got. Other than that, the staff are wonderful and the rooms are very comfortable.

Stayed overnight for a business meeting. Booked a Jacuzzi suite. The room was beautiful, comfortable bed. Had some maintenance issues with the tub, the jets are meant to purge the water for a few minutes after use, but would not shut off. A call to the front desk remedied this, but then the room lost power. It was quickly fixed. Overall the room exceeded my expectations, the shower was very nice. Do not recommend parking a pick up in the underground parking as the exit has a very sharp corner, was driving a half ton and it's very difficult to clear. Breakfast is buffet style and at an extra charge, purchase this through the front desk as you will get a discount on the meal. The hotel grounds were nice and well kept.

BW Port O'Call always a fun place to stay. Water park is great for the kids. Close to amenities and an in house restaurant/lounge. Sunday buffet was also great. Lots to choose from and a reasonable price for the 4 of us. Underground parking is awesome during the colder season. There is a nice pool away from the main area with a hot tub also. Our stay was a little crazy on a packed Saturday but all in all it was fun. Rooms are clean and spacious. Poolside rooms are great if you can snag one of the very few available.

I thoroughly enjoyed this stay, breakfast buffet and lunch buffet were both excellent with lots of delicious choices. Room was well appointed with comfortable bed and pillows. Quiet. Only complaint was access to electrical plugs for charging and by the bed for cpap setup.

Good location near airport with easy access to freeway and rest of city. Rooms and beds are comfortable and cleean, The htel has emmenities to faciitate any type of guests or organization. Good food in resturant and lounge. The wife and I needed a night away, and this was for sure the perfect place to do so. Spent a few hours in jetz bar and grill down stairs, the stuff was friendly, food was great as well as fast. If I was to take another night to relax this would be the place.

Another great night at the Port of call best western in Calgary. Front desk was fast and really helpful. I think the lady I had at the front desk was far more helpful than usual. Great room and perfect space for business travel. The jetz lounge was comfortable and the food was fine. Il be vack.

Could not have been any better, the only downer was the weather outside. The room was top shelf, the buffet breakfast was outstanding. Being able to park underground with the conditions outside was another plus.

Room was very loud! We were on top floor and had loud bangs every 20 minutes or so. It kept waking us up. Wifi was so slow we didn't even use it! Sofa bed was so old and uncomfortable I felt bad making my 4 year old daughter sleep in it. Pool under construction with no warning. Jacuzzi tub not staying plugged. Pillows so very lumpy and uncomfortable. No free breakfast.

Friendly staff always available to help you, very good breakfast with a large variety of meals, cleaning room with fresh smelling, close to the mall and shopping center. The free shuttle is available from the airport, maybe n adjusted the schedule from every hour to every 30 minutes, will help your guest a lot.

When you first walk into the lobby you see a view of the impressive waterpark straight ahead and then 2 family restaurants to either side as well as a hair salon and nail bar! The rooms are modern, clean and you get lost in the beds! The staff are so welcoming and accomodating, they do everything in their power to make your stay amazing and what keeps our family coming back every trip to Calgary!

Excellent rooms and service. The value for the price was outstanding. Our international student group enjoyed the waterslides and hottubs in the evening and had a fantastic breakfast before heading off for their tour of Banff.

Stayed here before and they maintain an excellent standard. Meal in lounge was great. Room clean and bed super comfortable. They even called My room to let me know the dry cleaner had arrived in order for me to have my suit dry cleaned. Great service.

Best hotel ever. We have a 3 1/2 year old and a 4month old it was a spontaious trip so we had nothing with us. This hotel had so much for the kids to do. The room was so clean that I felt comfortable enough to leave my youngest on the floor and all of us enjoyed the pool area ( a bonus to the pool to was they supplied life jackets which was very nice in our situation) . The staff was so helpful and Angela (front desk receptionist) even offered to help me with my luggage. We are definitely returning back to this hotel and telling all our friends and family about it!!

The hotel rooms are nice and the location of the hotel is good for airplane travelers. When I travel, a shuttle to the airport is important. The shuttle hours are inflexible and I needed to leave the hotel ridiculously early. The pub is difficult to find and a dinner plate size of nachos was 24 dollars.

Previously we loved this place but it needs updating.The waterpark is amazing for kids- they had so much fun, food is fantastic, beds are uncomfortable, rooms are dated. We even had doors that were broken and didn't open. Our friends had bugs in their room and had to move rooms and then had to argue to receive money off their bill that was promised to them. The staff seem reactive to problems rather than proactive. The pictures and fake plants in the rooms need to go. The wifi was great. Some servers were so friendly and others were quite rude. We love the layout of the suites- great for families but the pullout is horrid- you can feel every spring. So disappointed that the TVs are being removed from the bathrooms. Overall-disappointed and not sure it's worth the price anymore.

I always get top notch service from this hotel, and sometimes they even recognize me and welcome me back. I have some hearing loss and the front desk was very helpful in ensuring that i had a 2nd wake up call and would have knocked on my door so that i didn't miss my flight.

Absolutely love this hotel. From the moment you walk in the staff are friendly and helpful. The room they assigned us had a strange Pine-Sol type smell. They immediately changed us to a different room. The room service is fast and the food is excellent. They offer tickets to Calgary zoo and Callaway Park discount. Very enjoyable all the way around the pools are lovely and heated. Their check in time is 3 PM and checkout is 11 AM which is better than most hotels. There is Secure underground parking. Would highly recommend this hotel. I love best westerns in general.

We stayed here for 2 weeks everything was great, food was really good and well worth a try. Staff really helpful. Location really close to the airport. Rooms good size, cleaned every day. Pools were good for the area.

This hotel is always warm and friendly. Great pool and slide for the kids. Excellent restaurant and/ or lounge on site. I've not visited the cafe but it seems to have a nice variety and presentation of breakfast goodies.

Wife, myself, mother in law and kids stayed here as a single night before flying out. We were able to get conjoined rooms, each with two queen beds. Fit our family perfectly! Our family LOVED the water park. Kids had hours and hours of fun. I recommend this place to other families like ourselves. Several restaurants on site too if you don't want to venture out into Calgary. 4/5 stars!

Has an amazing water park for the family. Restaurant and food was great. Underground parking is very convenient, however, it is poor access to rooms and lobby. Overall very clean, quiet and comfortable.

We travel to Calgary multiple times a year just to stay at the Port O Call. It is a hotel with great service and a pool the kids love. The price is reasonable and it is in an area with plenty of restaurants, etc. around.

Old, run down, hot tub was lukewarm and murky, pool was murky, water slides had bumps in them that hurt, three maintenance men were testing the murky pool water, room lighting was not sufficient, mobile express check in was pointless as I had L to go through a regular check in process anyways, pillows were flat, requested extra pillows and Blanket three times without any success, underground parking was nice.

After a long day on the road, we just wanted to lay down and relax. We had asked for a room not close to the elevator, not next to the pool and if we could, a room on a higher floor (we had booked this far in advance). Upon arrival, we were told we had a room on the third floor which was fine. As soon as we got in the room, we noticed something was wrong. The bed was not clean and pillows were strewn over the room. The bathroom had dirty towels and water was everywhere. And the worst part. There were diapers over the floor. We went down stairs and alerted them that the room was a mess. They said it would take about an hour to clean. It was almost eleven at night and we were too tired to wait. The only room they could offer us was on the second floor. The manager told us that it was far away from the elevator. And for compensation he gave us breakfast coupons. Though in order to use them we would have to wake up and get down their at eight. Upon arriving at our second room we noticed it wasn't far from the elevator. It was only two rooms down. And it was close enough to the pool that we could hear the loud hum all night, so we didn't get a good night's sleep. Plus people were arriving late at night so every time we could hear them. We did get up early so we could use our coupons, and brunch was quite good. But we noticed that about half of the people there had coupons too. Did they all have bad service? We went down to the pool later and noticed it was overrun by families and little kids. People were getting hurt on the slide and there was no one up there to manage it. At one point, a guy was up there but when I was waiting for the light to turn green the guy gave me an unexpected push. We were very disappointed because another bad service experience had happened before and we thought we were just unlucky. This place is not what it used to be. It is overrun by families and the people at customer service don't really care about your stay. No way am I staying here again, and I recommend staying at another hotel!

We had a great stay here. Easy to access Calgary. The waterpark was a major hit! Restaurant onsite had great breakfast. The only thing I recommend is depending on how many of you are staying, it may be cheaper to pay directly in the restaurant for breakfast rather than buying the "coupon deal" at the front desk. Be sure to ask because we ended up over paying! They also sell hugely discounted Zoo and Telus spark passes as well as some others so don't purchase ahead of time online. I saved way more buying from the hotel than i would have if I used my AMA

I would highly recommend staying at Port O'Call Hotel in Calgary due to proximity to pretty much anything you would need in the city. They treat you like celebrities; offer up great food and a fun place for the family to stay. Couldn't ask for more from a hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of a holiday. I cannot fault the lady in reception that booked us in; very patient, polite and knowlegeable. The room was spacious and very clean. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We didn't use the pool but it was very popular. It's a few miles from downtown Calgary and we paid $25.00 for a taxi one way. They also stored our luggage free of charge and provided a free shuttle to the airport.

Inconvenienced numerous times by front desk and was not compensated at all. Charged extra for take out food containers bc room phone didn't work to order room service and had to physically order and pick up downstairs. Didn't have enough towels, ran out of toilet paper and Kleenex. Room was poorly cleaned prior to my check in and throughout stay. Room was humid and reeked of chlorine. Pool with water slides was good but super busy. Water slide hot tub was brutal. Was not told of the secret second pool- that pool and hot tub was great

The water slides are fun, the food is fantastic and the hotel is close to all amenities. Always pleasant staff to help you with all your needs. Whether it's for business or pleasure this is the place to stay

I wouldn't recommend this Best Western property to others. The staff was extremely unhelpful, the rooms where outdated and the walls paper thin. We booked this hotel based on the pool/water park area for our children and were unimpressed when arriving and the pool was much smaller than how pictures appear. The pool was very unclean ( we found two band-aids, numerous hair ties and a room key in the pool) The water park was very busy on the Tuesday afternoon/evening we stayed. Busy to the point that it felt almost unsafe for the amount of people using the facility at the time.

Great service kids loved the water slides and the little splash park our two year old enjoyed it. The staff was friendly help and with any thing we needed . The cleaning staff was excellent extra towels or any thing else was not a problem and very quick on bringing the items to the room.

For the 5th time we started our Canada journey having a sleep over at this excellent hotel located pretty close to the international airport. Great, spacious room, friendly and helpful staff at the reception as well as at the bistro. On top of that a wonderful, big breakfast buffet at the restaurant. :-)

Everything else was great but the pool is absolutely disgusting. The water touching your skin leaves a smell of mildew. Nice buffet for breakfast and Jetz is a great restaurant. Our previous experience with the port o call was much better than this time.

all the Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. My daughter was moving back to Saskatchewan from Vancouver and we were spending the night in Calgary en route. The staff were very helpful in assisting us to insure that all my daughter's belongings were secure while we stayed at this HOtel.

came to visit the zoo with kids and grandkids. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast and pasta buffet were both good...just enough choices. Rooms were clean although the TV in one of the rooms did not work the first night. Very close to our chosen venues. Grand kids enjoyed the water slides. would definately stay here again....

We had a bumpy start to our visit here. The first room had a really bad smell as did the second. We finally had luck with the third room. They made us wait about 10 to 15 mins so that housekeeping can freshen up the room for us. First room smelled like sewage. And could smell from hallway. Second room smelled like bad body odor. Or like someone with bad foot odor walked around and the smell got ground into the carpet. Think we ended up in room 227. It had a balcony and overlooked the main entrance. Sofa bed opened to a double bed. Kids really enjoyed the water slides and pool. Staff was accommodating. This is really a 2.5 but no way to do a half point.

The rooms and hotel itself are a bit older. The room was clean and worked well for our family of 4 (2 young kids). One annoying feature is the room is that the bathroom light also turns on a light outside the bathroom at another vanity. The extra vanity was great but when your kids go to bed at 7pm, having a light on that lights up most the room was annoying. Not a deal breaker though. Breakfast was great, good value of $30 buffet for a family of 4. There were lots of different options and the service was great. Make sure to purchase from the front desk ahead. The waterpark was a hit with the kids (and us). It was a great way to unwind after a day at the zoo or calaway Park. They have really cheap zoo tickets and discounted tickets for several other calgary attractions. We would definitely stay there again.

I stay at the BW PortO'Call multiple times during the year for business. The staff is always stellar and makes it a pleasure to stay there. Especially Moe. I the overall great atmosphere. And will always stay when I come to YYC.

The staff was excellent and made our family reunion more enjoyable. Breakfast was GREAT with a variety of items available every day. Our room was spacious and up to date. The internet connection worked very well. One elevator was being "updated" but we worked around that.

This was a great stay for us and we enjoy coming. The staff is kind and caring, the pool is convient and warm. Our room was comfortable and clean. This hotel is easy to get to and very close to the Airport.

I always come to this hotel as it is exceptional. Staff and amenities are excellent. For me, the location is perfect as it is close to the airport and all areas I need to get to. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I meet.

We take yearly trips to Calgary from Edmonton to see the sights such as Calaway and the zoo. First time at Port O Call. Chose it for a deal I had and the amazing looking water park. The water park didn't let my son down as he had a blast. Even though the water was colder than other hotels we've visited. Clean hotel in general. Breakfast area was good, and so was plenty of the food but some could use improvement. A fresh waffle machine would be better than precooked hard as rock waffles. Same with the French toast. Inedible. Stuck to bacon, yoghurt, fruits and oatmeal. Staff were mostly all friendly. Room was a very typical two bed standard room. Beds were comfy. We had a ‘Do Not Disturb' the first night but it got stolen overnight. Not a concern. Next day I tracked a housekeeper and asked her for a sign as we didn't need service. She nodded, walked away and never returned. I tried searching their carts for one, nothing. Next morning I decided on service as I was sick and took a change of fresh sheets. (I've been in the industry 17 years so I usually don't take service at all to give the attendants an easier day). I left a tip and a note asking for the do not disturb sign and some extra towels. The attendant cleaned the room, left no sign or extra towels. Did that myself, grabbed towels off a cart. So apparently privacy is really hard to get at the hotel. Without a sign I resolved to service next day as well since no choice and we came back when hskp was in room; I don't know how she cleaned the toilet but toilet water was all over my bathroom floor (you could see the toilet covered too, so you knew it was that. Everything else was done already) and I doubt she cleaned it proper as hair and dirt was still on the floor after she cleaned; so no vacuuming and she wiped the toilet and dried her mess, but nothing else. I resolved to half my bathroom floor was cleaned/covered with toilet water. Gross. So. Not impressed with housekeeping one bit even though the rest of the hotel and staff were great. Coming back would be questionable if we take the trip next year.

Stayed here for 2 nights and the beginning of a road trip in Canada. We wanted to stay in a hotel close to the airport. With two small children and long flight we just didn't want to travel to far. Place was ok. Rooms where fine. The main reason to book this hotel was the pool with the slides. It is a bit old, but my daughter loved it. The Centre of Calgary is a 10 min drive, which is fine. So overall, a great place to start our trip.

Stayed at the Best Western Plus Port O'Call Hotel while visiting friends in Calgary; staff were very friendly + helpful, the room was clean and the pool was a fantastic addition for my 6 year old daughter.

Amazing friendly service, they'll take care of you. The restaurant has fabulous food especially for breakfast! Best buffet breakfast I've ever had and the staff are waiting on your every move. Such a great experience. Angela at the front desk is the best!

My kids love this hotel because of the pool. There are two water slides that they love. I like how the location of this hotel is close driving distance to many Calgary attractions. They also offer discounted attraction passes for a few Calgary attractions such as the zoo and TELUS Spark

We were at Port O' Call hotel on Saturday July 13 2019 and can say enough good things about this hotel, the service is fantastic starting with Rene at the front desk he has the biggest smile and very helpful no matter how busy he is his service is always exceptional. Next is the restaurant service Virginia and Ravindran are both very welcoming, friendly and always smiling and ready to assist you. When we come to Calgary we know exactly were we staying and we have been for the last 14 years and always is memorable for our kids now 21 years and 16 years old. Glad we have this hotel to call home away from home

Loved the slides. Beds were some of the best we have had. Great night sleep. Good breakfast buffet. Nicely located, close to airport and major roads. Already making plans to return over Christmas and New Years.

Hotel was great everything went smooth it was clean Elevator was out of service and down to 1 so long wait. Also people smoke at the front entrance. Didn't like walking past a waft of smoke. Other than that it was great

We stayed here for one night with a 4 year old and 4 month old. The hotel price was great. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was very clean with a great bathtub for the kids. By far the best part is the pool with the water slides. Our son loved the water park. The staff here were also fantastic. My daughter was awake in the middle of the night, so I took her down to the lobby as I didn't want to disturb my husband and son and the people in the rooms next to us. Every staff on the night shift came up to say hi to her as we walked the lobby for over an hour before she fell back asleep. The staff at the breakfast buffet were also wonderful. They allowed me to purchase the buffet and provided a tray to take it back to the room to eat. We would most definitely stay here again with our kids.

This is likely one of the best hotels in Calgary. My room was clean, tidy. Just exactly what my wife and I were looking for. The restaurant offers succulent food. Front desk people were awesome! (Enrie, thanks a lot!). I will come back soon.

I loved this hotel! It was clean, comfortable and spacious and above average for me as far as your “typical” hotel room expectations go. The bed and pillows were super comfortable.l, well above average. From our window you could see the planes coming and going, which is something I really enjoy. You could hear them at night as well but they weren't as loud as I thought they would be. If you're a super light sleeper, then I would recommend avoiding that entire area, not just this hotel. Staff very friendly. The restaurant and lounge were awesome and I highly recommend. Didn't get to try the pool area but it looked very nice and well kept.

A wonderful stay and the best hotel pool in the city!! The entire team was very welcoming from the moment we all walked in to the time we had left. A great place to celebrate a kids pool party with rooms connected to the pool.

My daughter, her 3 year old and 11 month old and I stayed here Monday and Tuesday night this week. ALL of the staff were so helpful and nice. The water slides were a big hit. Would definitely stay here again. Beds were comfortable. Thank you Port O Call.

Everything about the hotel was great except the shuttle will only pick you up at certain times. We had to wait 40 minutes for the next shuttle. After travelling from Europe for 23 hours we took a cab but it cost $30. Unfortunately add that onto the overall cost and we could have stayed at a hotel closer to the airport.

Had a great stay at the hotel. The staff are friendly and great facilities, the pool and water slides were great fun. The room had two large beds and was very clean. The room service was very good value

My wife and I along with our 6 year old twins loved the hotel! Very quiet room with Balcony on the second floor, clean, and a powerful shower!. We all loved the pool area! The slides were perfect, clean, and well maintained. Loved the underground parking, and we also felt very safe, as you need a room key to access most areas. The Wi Fi was excellent for us. Lots of airplanes landing regularly, but did not keep us awake at all. Note: we did not eat any of the food, as it was a bit pricey, and there is no complimentary coffee downstairs. There is a simple single mug coffee maker, just enough to get the day started, just fine for us. Beds were fine for us, and excellent blackout curtains. We saved a ton, by buying our zoo admission at the hotel!! Also other attraction tickets available. Excellent front desk service. We will return!

The Best Western Plus has been our go to hotel accommodation for about 20 years. The staff, amenities and food has always been excellent. We have enjoyed the many upgrades they continue to undertake over the years which shows they care about their guests. We use the underground parking option and take the excellent shuttle service when we go on vacation. Our grandchildren love the pool when we meet there for family weekends. Try it and you will find it excellent as well.

Stayed here on business. Hotel is clean and updated. Bed was comfortable, wi-fi was good. Had the sunday brunch which was pretty good. Never had a chance to go to the pool but the water slide and pool area would be great for kids.

My experience was ok with this hotel. Had to change rooms due to the chlorine smell and due to myself suffering from asthma. Next room was bettter. Beds were not the greatest. Really springy and not comfortable. Internet/wifi. Well that was extremely poor and never working. Very frustrating for children and adults to get any emails or work stuff down. Pool area floor was nasty. Definitely needs sandals or flip flops on at all times. Lots of hair and dirt on the pool deck. Heck I even slipped down the stairs the first night we went to the pool. Now onto food: breakfast was lacking, not enough items out, ran out of pancakes and no bacon offered the first morning breakfast. Overall lacking foods. Juices were the cheap juices not the real kind. All needed to be watered down. Overall the price for breakfast isn't worth it.

We had a fantastic stay with friends here while we visited the zoo. The staff was super friendly, service was quick and even when breakfast was very busy, the food was hot and there was more than enough. The kids loved the pools and beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Great location even though it's in a business hub. Makes for a quiet stay and everything is a short drive away (sightseeing fun, restaurants, etc). Great clean hotel with lots of parking. Very nice rooms.

Claims to be the best team hotel for travelling teams. Not true. Coming to tell 6 year olds about noise complaints at 6pm.... Really? Breakfast buffet is the same garbage as other best westerns, wet piles of scrambled eggs and clumped together bacon. The bar and lounge are pretty good. Kids enjoy the water park but dangerous. Two water slides and no monitoring. Kids landing on other kids when they come down. The pictures are better than what's actually there.

This is one of the best hotels i have stayed in not big and fancy but with a staff next to none and a owner how is hands on keeping it in tune,Had a great dinner and a cold beer and a great nights sleep after a very long drive as well as a great breakfast to start my day for my Trip Home and a great shuttle ride to Alaska Airlines. TOP MARKS TO ALL THE STAFF, looking forward to coming Again.

The location was good for us, close to children's hospital. Good hotel for the whole family. Yet still adult areas to enjoy a quiet evening alone. This will be a regular hotel for us now going forward.

I had to cancel my sons big birthday trip due to financial reasons. I called and spoke with Angela, who was lovely. She gave us a great rate, included breakfast and even had goody bags and colouring for the kids. Thank you guys for making my special little guys day so special.

We had an overnight stay here and enjoyed it very much! We stayed in a family suite (very clean) and really appreciated the extra space! The pool is even better in person! the kids LOVED it and slept like logs, only until the pool re opened in the morning for a second go at the water slides! We made a mini vacay and went to the Zoo and rode horses at Rafter6! This entire trip gets a 10/10 from us!

Miscommunication at booking landed me a larger bill. Not a huge deal if no issues along the way. Mini fridge froze all of my fresh food. Spider webs hanging from the ceiling. Dust across fireplace mantle. Long dark hair hanging from bathroom towels. Office chair had no cushion left. Was like sitting on a wood frame. I would have rather sat in a full wooden chair. Sofa bed so old me eight year old said the springs pushed into her back. My room for "6" was a room for four, with some past due furnishings that were useable if you didn't mind discomfort. Went for breakfast at 9:10 and they start taking the buffet down at 9:30. No warning. Kids had fun in the pool. Staff was friendly. Not enough to bring us back.

Not to bad of a place. Need to upgrade the internet to make it faster. Only got 1 elevator. The other one been down for over a year. Great pool. Great breakfast. Lounge was a little slow with service and bringing the bill to pay. Food was all right.

Had a great stay at the port o'call in May 2019. Had our gymnastics club in Calgary for a competition. Service was excellent, rooms were clean and the pool was remarkable. For a hotel pool it was far above the expectation, especially for the kids. Would recommend staying here if you are travelling through Calgary and need a hotel on the north side of the city.

The facility was very clean & tidy. The pool was fantastic for all ages. We appreciated the toddler pool for our 2 & 4 year olds. The staff were all very friendly. Bonus points for having an extra sink outside of the washroom in our room!

We stayed 2 nights last weekend for a family 'getaway'. This hotel was recomemnded to us by friends and we were not disapointed. They really cater to families here which was nice. I really have no complaints about this hotel other than the pool is freezing but my son didnt mind at all. There were more than a couple blue lipped kids that came to the hot tub to warm up though ;) This will be our hotel of choice from now on when staying in Calgary as a family

I have had the privilege of staying here a few times now. Both times the level of service exceeded my expectations. Very clean property with great amenities. I will be back soon with my grandkids to enjoy the excellent water park. I highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to Calgary.

The staff were so friendly and the hotel was clean during our stay..We are very satisfied with our room.. we were given a joining room upon my request because we booked 2 rooms as we have 6 kids.. We really enjoyed the waterpark and the peacefulness of the pool down in the basement..

We stayed at the best western mostly for the water slides/pool because of couple 4 year olds and it was a hit, my little guy stayed in the pool and hot tub till late and then was the first thing he wanted to do the next morning, everything flew nicely that you can go back to room, shower, go have something to eat.it was easy to find and not out of the way. will stay there again for sure

Rooms are clean and well kept. Hotel is in a great location as it's close to the airport. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Eager to please. They have a shutte service to and from the airport, so that was a welcome no hassle with cabs etc.

My wife and 3 girls 1-6yrs old all had a great time. Breakfast buffet was really good. Room was spacious. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. The two slides and two hot tubs were a great way of wearing the kids out. They slept like logs afterwards.

My family stayed here 4 nights. Clean room and lobby. Good restaurant and lounge. Good breakfast/coffee bar. Busy, busy pool area with not much for adults, but fun for the kids. Adults: note the second, much quieter and less used hot tub in behind the slides. Enrie at the front desk provided amazing customer service throughout my stay.

It was Easter Weekend and we spent it there it was to busy, the pool was over busy all nights, the water was dirty, it was cold for the kids, the elevator was broken, there was never any food at the buffet, there was never any glasses for the juice bar, the fitness equipment room was always too hot, the kids, there were kids playing on the machines in wet clothing, the machines were broken, the bathrooms were out of order, I would not stay there on any holiday or busy time ever again. Plus the price on a holiday was unbelievably expensive for no reason

I've traveled to Calgary for business several times now and stay at a different hotel each time. This was probably my best stay yet. The staff is very friendly, patient and helpful. Lots of smiles ease the tension of traveling when arriving. The pool and fitness area is ine of the better ones for hotels that say they have a fitness center. You can actually get a real work out in. The restaurant and bar in site gave enough options so if you didnt want to go anywhere after work you didnt have to. Oh and Timmies is across the street.

Check in time is 3PM, but our room wasnt ready. They told us to wait at the lounge if we wanted to eat (out of our own money). Okay fine as we dont have anywhere to sit while waiting. There was no one to serve us in the snack bar. Pool smells like something that hasnt been aired out for a long time. The water was not clear. The couches in the room or carpet looks loke it needs a lot of cleaning up. Its probably the color, but it doesnt look clean. There was a stain on one of the pillow. We stayed at a suote with jetted tub but didnt use the tub cause imnot sure how they clean.

Highly recommend! This resort is perfect for family who loves swimming especially with the little ones, rooms is clean and ha a good night sleep with the comfy bed, we are coming back there Again .............

All staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Sarika went out of her way to confirm our breakfast reservation. Great pool , good restaurant service and staff are very friendly. We would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and we will certainly stay hear again.

I think the price is really good considering the great service. Staff care! omg the food, large portions and oh so good. Some say airplane noise. Turn on the tv and forget it or enjoy watching the jets come in and take off! Oh fun time for kids, clean, accommodating, and fair!

Excellent service. Obviously popular with families because of the waterslides, but that was not a problem as children were accompanied by parents. Close to airport. Planes could be faintly heard in guest rooms but not when asleep. Restaurant buffet for breakfast was outstanding value.

A good place to stay. Nice rooms, clean, cozy lobby, pool. The breakfast and lunch buffets were very good with lots of food choices. The beds in the rooms were very high. A short person would have trouble getting into them.

Hotel has nice restaurant and a small Water park for the children. Underground parking is a bonus when the whether is cold and snowing. They have a bar for the adults and a nice business conference center for the guests to use.

For business I have stayed in many hotels. Everytime I come back to BW Plus Port-O-Call they never stop to impress me, from the time I check-in with Haya, Mo and all the front desk crew, room service, technicians, restaurant staff, gym staff.. They all make sure to provide all I need to be able to do my job in a very relaxed, calm surroundings. They are always there to help at any time. Very pleasant, professional people's.. will certainly come back!

Nice hotel to stay in. Easy access from major roads. The waterpark is great for a hotel. It works well for all ages. I found the hotel to be a bit pricey for not having a breakfast option... Would probably stay again.

Absolutely love this place. I always get treated like I own the joint. Upon arrival they know my name and have me checked in immediately. This time I even had specific valuables that they looked after for me during my stay.

We chose this hotel based on the pictures of the pool. And we were extremely satisfied. Our overall stay was great. Clean room, cable and free wi-fi. Enrice (not sure on correct spelling) at the front desk was amazing. Such a great experience when dealing with him. Will definitely book here again when in the area.

This place is an amazing place to be whether you're by yourself, with your family, or as a couple, or a group. The staff(Clarissa) went above and beyond for me and my family. We off handedly told her about our anniversary because we were joking around and while we went swimming she brought us a nice surprise! That was well worth the stay in itself and the housekeepers are very wonderful the room was sparkling clean!

My stay was for work and it also coincided with spring break. Lots and lots of young people so the hallways could be noisy at times. Hotel is close to airport and offers easy access to surrounding activities. Nightly dinner specials in the restaurant and loung made meals simple. Angela at the front desk is outstanding as the entire crew is above the average. Housekeeping was great. The only drawbacks for me was the fitness center/pool/jacuzzi were under renovation most of my stay. Only one working elevator was a bummer at times.

My teens enjoyed thentwo waterslides. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed supper in the lounge - giant burgers, good salads and dessert. Kids slept in and missed the breakfast buffet but the price sounded really reasonable.

All Agents and team members that I encountered were professional and friendly. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There were a couple of minor issues with the room, that I brought forward to the Front Desk and everything was remedied to my complete satisfaction. I did appreciate that there was a second hot tub area away from the water park. I did not have the opportunity to have the breakfast buffet but given the number of guests in the restaurant it must be okay. The burgers at the Jetz Bar were pretty good. I would have no problem staying there again or recommending the Hotel.

Travelled with my daughter's cheer team and the hotel was perfect. Beds were amazing, quiet rooms, breakfast was fantastic and the pool facilities were above expectations, she loved it! Will definitely be back for a family trip.

This is a fun hotel to take kids to if they like to swim. There is a pool with two waterslides, two hot tubs, and a baby/toddler section. The pool is not as huge as I thought it would be, when advertised as a "waterpark", but it's still a little bigger than a lot of hotel pools. The pool was really quiet on a Thursday, but when we got to the weekend it was jam packed. The staff were all friendly, especially the cleaning staff. The hotel and room were very clean. There is parking outside as well as lots of underground parking. You can pay $30 at check-in to get the breakfast buffet for 4 people. It's a good deal if you plan on eating there, because normally it's $15 per adult and $7.50 per kid. It was a pretty good buffet. One out of two elevators was not working the entire time we were there, and we did not see anyone trying to fix it either. This made going up and down very slow. The only major complaint was the beds and pillows. The beds were rock hard and very uncomfortable. The pillows were horrible and felt like they needed to be replaced. None of the 4 of us slept very well at all. My 7 year old also commented on how scratchy the sheets were. We would still probably stay here again, despite the bedding.

We stayed four nights at this hotel and we totally loved it. The location is very good, their rooms are modern and very clean. Their restaurant is fantastic. Very friendly and professional service at Front Desk.

This hotel is really good for families or couples as they have areas such as the pool, waterslide, and hot tub area that can be used to entertain children and adults can supervise and visit. Also we had a group of 8 and found the restaurant great for supper and breakfast. Also the breakfast buffet was a good value for staring our morning including it with our room. The only complaint we would have was the room temperature was hard to regulated as under the window it kept blowing cold air but the sleeping area was quite warm. Also in the lobby it was quite cool so when going to the pool you were quite chilly

We have been staying at this hotel for 15 years and the staff is SO caring and it's like our second home. They always ask how our daughter and day is after retiring from the hospital!! They are genuine and caring!!

It was a very good experience. Kids enjoyed pool and water park very much. Except breakfast option, everything was excellent. Staffs are very gentle helpful and organized especially front desk. Overall excellent.

Seriously an awesome hotel. The pool was the highlight. Two waterslides, a kids pool area, and a nice little hot tub. Only thing I wish is that the water was a little bit warmer. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout, just a wonderful experience with them. And the value. For the price you can everything you would want and more. We will be back for sure.

Having a medical procedure at Peter Lougheed Hospital made this our hotel of choice. Everyone from check in to checkout was kind and helpful. We would highly recommend Port o' Call especially if medical appointments close by.

Remote was broken, was simply told by repair man "Just have to push it really hard". Didn't end up watching TV that night. Broken cupboard hinges - dangerous with kids and had to juggle food and drinks in order to utilize the mini fridge

In the past couple of months due to business have not been home and staying in Hotels. Jasper, Edmonton and Especially Calgary, the stays were made to make me feel at home, in a clean, happy environment. Staff was super, food was good, and the bed was comfortable! Oh and the bathtub is sooo nice!

This is our go to hotel when in Calgary. Easy to get to and access all areas of the city, has long-term parking if you are flying out for a week vacation somewhere, and the kids love the waterpark. Rooms are always clean and staff helpful if you have a request. The Sky Harbour restaurant has a great menu with decent prices, can't complain. Bed was super comfy, although pillow was a bit worn down and lumpy, hotel staff was quick to replace it on request. We'll be back again!

I've stayed here many times. It has been an excellent experience every one of those time. Also, great prices relative to other hotels which pale in comparison. If you have kids, they have a great pool with two different water slides which are awesome.

Clean comfortable updated rooms, fantastic customer service. Convenient shuttle to the airport. My son really loved the pools. A great place to stay when you have a child with you or just want somewhere comfortable to sleep.

My kids love this hotel the pool and water slides keep them busy while i relax in the hot tub. The pool down in the fitness centre is always quiet if we need to get away from it all. Every time we go to Calgary they ask for this hotel. Thanks again for another great stay.

Overall was an ok experience. Waterpark was the highlight. Guest rooms not as shown in photos. Hallway noise was really bad. Tv didn't have regular channels and had to pay per view if you wanted to watch anything.

What an excellent hotel we picked for our family night! From a great rate , check in and underground parking we were already excited to come for the swim park and sleepover. The front desk staff were excellent! Once we arrived at our rooms we were so pleased to see a beautiful double queen spacious room! Great for kids!!! We went down to the waterpark and what fun we all had. We tried the pool and hot tub near the exercise room and that pool was spectacular!!! My daughter , myself and of course 5 grandkids had the best time. With minus 27 weather what a treat to head to the car in the morning with our t-shirts on! Highly recommend for families wanting a mini-vacation! Thanks to the Port O Call Staff who made our stay so pleasant! We will be returning for sure!

Stayed here for a cheer competition, kids had fun playing in the pool, rooms were clean and beds were comfy. A little noisy at times when we were trying to go to sleep but nothing to bad. Need better coffee options and earlier breakfast times as we had to leave before breakfast was avaliable.

This was the 2nd time staying at this hotel and getting our vehicle broken into. The front desk offered no help with where to go to get it repaired. We had to stay an additional night and was offered a discount rate ($10) less than full price...which was more expensive than the price on expedia.The tap in the bathroom sprayed you when it was turned on...and the heater made a terrile growling noise when it was running.

Greta hotel! Friendly staff! One waterslide wasn't working, but otherwise great time! Love the underground parking! The room service was quick and the food was great! We will definitely stay there again!

When I booked the stay I was sold a package that included free breakfast and indoor heated parking. At check in was told the parking was outdoor only and the breakfast didn't start until after we had to leave for the airport. So much for the package that cost us way more. Very disappointed the staff did not try to help at all. Was just told to pay WAY more.

Older man on trip to satisfy life long intentions. No family, no responsibility. This accommodation provided very good security and base of operations to explore a city never been to before. Location so far from downtown was a challenge for a man who doesn't drive. Learned effectively about public transit in Calgary. Maybe provision of simple instructions on bus routes and ctrain routes would more effectively help people who do not drive.

We stay here for work all the time. The hotel staff is always very friendly, and Moe is amazing. The shuttle service is very professional, and the rooms very clean. Ended up going down the water slides about 12 times :)

The breakfast and pool were the best! I doubt you would find a better pool (waterpark) or breakfast spread in anywhere in Calgary. If you prepay for your breakfast at check in, it is only $30 per family of 4.The waterpark is amazing for small babies right up to older children! And they have a smaller separate pool for people looking for a quieter, normal pool environment. Only downside during our stay was no guest use laundry facilities that we desperately needed.

Hotel is located in an area close to the airport. It was easy to get to. Check-in was quick and friendly. All info about the amenities was shared upon check-in (ie., dining options, pools, parking). Underground parking very appreciated on cold winter day. Breakfast affordable with good options for a buffet. Kids especially enjoyed the water park. It was nice to have the option of the downstairs pool and hot tub when the water park was too crowded. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The beds and pillows comfortable and the shower was great. Nice to have additional sink outside of the main bath area. Noise from airport was not a problem. We had noisy neighbours across the hall and when reported to the front desk was dealt with immediately.

I always booked this hotel at New Year's because it's convenient to the party that we go to. The hotel is convenient to the airport and it's convenient to a lot of things. It's a nice hotel the staff is very nice and very welcoming and very exceptional. But I do think that their rooms need a facelift. Especially the heating systems in their rooms they're still using the old fashion kind of heaters that you have to go and turn the knob and then if it gets too hot you got to turn the knob on and off. I suggested they go to a thermostat system like most of the other upgraded Best Western Hotels. I stay at Best Western all the time when I travel I know them all very well. And as I said I've been at this hotel every year for at least the last 4 years. The one thing this hotel has going for it is that there is a huge swimming pool with a water slide and of course it's perfect for families. But sometimes that could be a little bit annoying as well depending on what you're looking for but it is what it is. The hotel as I said is a four out of five star in my opinion and I keep coming back for my New Year's party location. But it could use a little tidying up other than that it's a good place

Once again stayed at the BW Port O Call in Calgary. They helped us check-in early and the express check-out is awesome. Clean, clean rooms and those beds are soooo comfortable. The chef surprised us with a free dessert (which just happened to be my favourite) creme brûlée even though we were not celebrating anything. I have stayed in hotels across North America and Australia and none met the standard set by Port O Call in Calgary, Alberta Canada.

Love this hotel it's the only place I will ever stay also the water park is great and the hotel has multiple pools and hot tubs and fitness center underground parking the restaurants and lounge and pub are also great

Great family hotel, water slides, kiddie pool and hot tub. Best breakfast selection, tons of choices. In room movies were ridiculously overprices, $20.00 per movie. Close to the airport, Timmy's around the corner.
