The hotel is very clean and organized. The personnel are very friendly and professional at the same time. Cute outside patio in a garden. Really tasteful food for dinner. Not walking distance to the historical center of Bologna, but definitely close by car or taxi

The hotel is about 5-6kms from the airport, very clean and comfortable and quiet and the staff are very polite and helpful. The wallpaper needs replacing but bedding is recent and plentiful. Heating was set too hight but can be changed and my window opened so a non issue. Hotel is about 20-30 mins walk from the centre of the city. If you don't want to use public transport it is an easy and not unpleasant walk (over the river there is a market a lovely park and markets) and although the hotel is getting into a more residential and working area, felt safe and easy. There are some bakeries, cafes and bars in easy walking distance too. With its bonus of car parking it would be perfect for a driving holiday keeping you out of the crazy traffic of the centre of town. I flew into Bologna from Australia and it was a perfect place to rest before travels.

Booked this hotel as it is close to the train station Bologna Centrale and the city centre. The location is therefore good and set in an interesting mixed area with cheap cafes and bars nearby. There is also a large supermarket close by. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is fairly basic considering the price you are paying for the hotel. It appears that this is mainly a hotel for business clients. However the main drawback is that there is no heating in this hotel as the A/C was switched off centrally, despite the temperature in Bologna going down to 5C at night when I was there. It is therefore cold at night in the room.

I stayed at the hotel with family , I found the bedroom to be very clean and the amenities satisfactory , the staff where pleasant and went out of their way to help me when I started to have toothache , the Reception Manager Leo gave me directions to Pharmacy but also translated for me on a paper to give to the pharmacist as to what I was needing help with 10/10

Short stay in Bologna with wife and family and we reserved a room that would accommodate all of us. Great check in experience and room was very clean and comfortable. The staff accommodating and helpful. Location was a compromise as it was about half way between airport and the center of town. Fairly quiet area with some good local restaurants close by. Overall would recommend and stay here again.

Stayed for 5 nights in October 2022. Had an enjoyable stay. Very pleasant room with a small fridge, seat area and bed. Bathroom was ok, but some black mold in the shower area unfortunately (nothing serious and unlike popular belief nothing very harmful). Something I did not understand was the water heater which had a tiny electric plug and not able to put in electric plug. Friendly people at reception area and breakfast room as well. Some more English understanding in the latter would be pleasant. Only thing was that for fresh juice during breakfast they ask 4 euro....not something you should want as a nice hotel.

Beautiful clean hotel with nice rooms. Close to the bus station going to downtown, you can purchase the bus tickets right at the hotel counter. Very friendly people and Best Western team! I only missed a king size bed.

We stayed at this hotel from August 24 to August 28. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices. The room is comfortable but it is always much smaller compared to USA hotels rooms for a 4-star hotel. The shower is very small. We liked the best in the room is they have the electric kettle to boil the water for drinking or coffee on the morning. The walking distance from the hotel to Bologna Central train station is approximately 9 small blocks and took us 12 to 15 minutes since we have an elderly person in our group. Taxi from Bologna Airport to the hotel is $30 for 6 people with a mini-van ($18 for 3 people in a sedan). The office staffs are nice and always willing to help us (also they speak English fluently).

The accomodation is very nice, comfortable and well cleaned. The staff members are always kind and friendly. Breakfast is very good, they offer much variety and evertyhing is always fresh. The hotel is not so closed to the center region, but there is a bus stop right in front of it at which you can take a bus if you want (including the one to go to Piazza Maggiore), and it is a 20-minute walk to the train station. There are excellent restaurants around the hotel. Internet connection sometimes is not so good but it is possible to use.

Stay in this hotel is good value for money. The location is near the entrance of the city centar, cc 30 min walk threw the neighborhood then over the brige on the main train station. The hotel has free garage parking,nice and clean rooms with smart tv, great choice of food at breakfeast time. The wifi is fast and there is s local store near.

Nice rooms, friendly staff and standard breakfast for being Italy. 10 min walk to the train station with porticos half of the way, and further 10 along the main shopping street to get to Piazza Maggiore. Can also take the bus which runs frequently near the hotel. Quiet area. Good size grocery shop a minute away. Free Wi-Fi, but didn't work in the hotel room very well, only in the reception-area.

Nice hotel situated in outskirts of city. Large comfortable and very well equipped room with corner bath, though not a jacuzzi as advertised. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. Excellent value for money. Hotel is about a 15 to 20 min walk from the Bologna Central Station and a several minutes more into city centre. Spent three nights here and visited Florence for a day by train. Very minor complaint would be the water wasted running taps for several minutes before hot water reached room. All in all a very nice stay and would happily return.

Room was spacious with very nice details. Bathroom was huge and one of the most comfortable I've ever seen. Not only is the bathroom big, but it had a full size tub with a special seat and the shower can be adjusted to allow showering while seated. I wish I had one like this at home! A great perk when you're a tourist that's been on your feet all day and even showering hurts. Location: it's not a prime location which means the attractions are not within walking distance, but it's easily accessible by bus 27 which is very frequent (either to the city center or to the main train station and the airport bus which departs from there). However, for me a great perk is the Pam supermarket a few steps away. It's a full size supermarket, very convenient. The breakfast buffet was very good, even for a vegetarian. They had fruit and the usual cucumbers and tomatoes, plus a great variety of delicious pastries.

Staff very friendly and willing to assist however they could. Hotel a little run down but for the price it did just the job. My only criticism was my room had no hot water. I had to be up really early so had to time to complain, but skipping a shower before a flight is not fun!

Another great stay in a Best Western. Staff very professional and very much ensured we had a problem-free stay. Room great, king bed with all you need for a short stay. Yes it's a bit out of Bologna Centro but a lovely walk in to the city for dinner. Ample and easy parking so great if you are doing a road trip.

Our first night was terrible. We were given a room with, what looked like, old carpet and heavy curtains on two doors and windows. Dust mites kicked in a very bad asthma attack. Opening the window or balcony door for fresh air turned off the air conditioning in over 80 degree heat (27c). Although the staff was responsive by visiting the room, promptly, (we had to go to the desk to request help since the phone was not plugged in) there was little that could be done during the night and we were told the hotel was fully booked. However, in the morning when we went to the desk the staff were very apologetic and accommodating. They moved us to a new room in a recently remodeled section. The rest of our week long stay was very comfortable. Many thanks to Loredonna Affuso, Front Office Manager, for her responsive and considerate handling. Just a tip: If buying a bus ticket ask if the #27 A,B,o rC buses, which go into the downtown, will be going by the Piazza that day. Route changes on holidays and when events in the downtown close streets. Also, be sure to have your bus pass validated by the little machine inside the bus. Bologna has police that board the bus unexpectedly to monitor bus passes. There is a fine for not validating your ticket.

Great place to stay when in Bologna if happy to walk a little or use buses. Clean, helpful staff & big room. We appreciated the larger room given 3 of us. Staff spoke English & were happy to assist us with confirming our activities & re where to eat.

Spent 7 nights at this hotel. It is located in a quiet area but on a direct bus route to the old city and is about a 25 minute easy walk. The rooms air conditioned, kept immaculately clean and ours had a king sized, very comfortable bed. The bar is well stocked and the restaurant has a fairly extensive menu with delicious food to suit all tastes and is not expensive. The breakfast is ideal with a continental or cooked choice and as much as you can eat. The staff are so friendly and eager to please. The few queries which we had were always answered with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. To be honest I couldn't find fault with the accommodation, food or staff. Believe me this hotel is a little gem.

We have stayed at this Hotel on many occasions for a few days at a time each year. On this visit The staff as always were professional and welcoming however we noticed a general lowering of standards which was disappointing, some examples are: No ceramic cups or real spoons in rooms only paper cups that leaked everywhere as they are poor quality and were not replaced daily as before. Cheap toilet paper and also no tissues provided Restaurant - fruit juice, no longer fresh but from a machine and so full of sugar and powdery. So many cakes and pastries rather than fresh wholesome food. No fresh yoghurts. Dangerous toast machine with uninsulated tongs to use so either you got burnt putting your hand inside the machine or by using the tongs which were red hot after use....very dangerous! Having said all that our room was clean, had a nice bath room, the Hotel is a good walk from The City Centre, 8000 steps, but has free parking, so is suitable if you want to go to the Centre and are a fit and able person. Our comments are not complaints but merely observations of better quality in years gone by, what a shame!

We have stayed several times at this hotel whilst visiting family. It is clean and friendly and is ideally located for access to the city centre. We usually book a suite, slightly more expensive but much quieter and better bathroom. The standard rooms tend to be noisy with poor soundproofing. The reception staff are polite and attentive, however on this occasion we had a few minor frustrations. The bidet was leaking and despite mentioning to reception staff, was not fixed during our stay. We also had no towels left in the bathroom on one occasion. Small things but overall makes a difference to final impressions.

Nice quite hotel. Close to a bus stop and only for stops away from the main train station. Sold tickets to the bus at front desk. Room was clean and air conditioning worked. Staff very helpful and friendly.

The room was big and bed was very comfortable. Staff was very responsible to our request. Breakfast was nice, lot of choices. There were a supermarket and nice small restaurant nearby. Easy access to town centre by 10 min bus ride, bus stop was just a few min walk from hotel.

My wife and I liked the hotel because it was good value for money. The location is a straightforward 20 minute walk into the old historic city centre. The area around the hotel is okay, not particularly rough and not particularly salubrious either. We felt safe enough while there and wandering the nearby streets into quite late in the evening. The hotel itself is pleasant enough, and it always felt like a safe welcoming refuge when arriving back at the end of a long day. The rooms are very basic but warm and clean. The shower was great. Our floor had a shoe shiner which is something you rarely see in hotels nowadays. The rooms had plenty of clean towels. Annoyingly, and this is normal according to the lady on reception, while the rooms are stocked with a kettle and the normal tea, herbal teas, coffee and sugar, they do not provide milk! Bizarre. Overall the hotel was good for the money, but we would look to spend a bit more next time and stay in the old part of the city. The lady on reception referred to earlier I felt could have been more helpful ...in other words, she could have made an effort to possibly find some milk from somewhere. It surely would not have taken too much effort. On the other hand Leo on reception was particularly helpful and patient when providing us with a map and directions to where we wanted to go, and putting up with my poor Italian!

3 days in Rome 2 in Florence. 3 in Bologna. The Best western citiy in Bologna is well situated 15 min walk to rail station. Close to bus stops for city centre. The only hotel on our trip that had BBC news and CNN. The bed was big and comfy .Breakfast plentiful and lots of choice. Staff friendly wi fi free and good. Bathroom superb.

I just spent one night at the Best Western after a long haul flight from the USA via London. The hotel is conveniently located about 10 mins by taxi from the airport. At 22:00 the taxi was just €20. The staff were very polite, friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the food service is only available from 07:00-22:00, so if you are planning on arriving late, the mini bar will be the only option. The room was compact, but comfortable and the bathroom decent sized. Although a little warm, the room does have windows that can be opened for a little fresh air. My only disappointment with the room itself was the pillows were rock hard. Given my arrival time I didn't go and ask if there were softer ones available, so fair warning. Breakfast was continental style, with plenty of selection of pastries, breads and a few cereal options. Everyone speaks English so no problem on the communication front of you don't speak Italian. And as for payment, American Express accepted :-) The hotel is only 1km (about 1/2 mile) from the Bologna Central station. A brisk 12 minutes walk or more casually 29 minutes. All told, a good stay - just some better pillows and a little food after 22:00 for us late arrivals would have topped it off.

Best Western City Hotel in Bologna , near the city, is a great cozy hotel to relax. It's clean, affordable and with a good atmosphere staff. Rooms a perfect with a strange toilet seating lol. Breakfast included and lots of parking space.

We visit this hotel when we visit bologna after one exchipition we had in Rimini. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The location was very good because it was only 10 minutes from the central of the town.

The reason I might not go back is that whilst the hotel itself was very good, the location in a dodgy area was a bit offputting ! Notwithstanding that comment it is only a 15 minute walk from the Centrale train station and about 30 minutes to the Piazza Maggiore. The room was large with a spacious bathroom . Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice , try and get fresh scrambled egg if you can !

We visited Bologna through a BA package holiday. I have stayed at Best Westerns before, so I was very happy to stay at this hotel. However, I am afraid it was awful. There is very little noise insulation and we had a group of uni students staying on our corridor who were having a party in the room next door until 3 am on two nights. We called down to reception twice and nothing changed. The breakfast is truly awful and to add insult to injury the hotel charged us 30 Euro "tax" on checkout. When we complained on checkout all we got in reply was rudeness. It is also a very long walk from the centre (about 35 to 40 minutes)

We had a Superior room which was large enough for the two of us comfortably with a well laid-out and very large bathroom. My only slight complaint would have been that I was able to hear the next-door guest talking loudly at one point but fortunately he and his partner went out banging their door and we did not hear them come back. Otherwise quiet. Breakfast was plentyful with a good choice for all reasonable tastes. We left our car in ther spacious carpark and wandered into the city centre on foot although there is an excellent bus service which we used on the way back when we were tired.

This was my second time in Bologna this year. The first time just a day trip from Florence by train.This time I visited with friends to celebrate some special birthdays staying at this hotel a few miles from the airport and ten minutes from the train station. After a great flight and transfer we were greeted by a lovely team at the hotel.From Sara on reception to Muhammed in the restaurant they were so attentive making our stay really special. We went to Ferrara by train on the Sunday on recommedation from Reception and thoroughly enjoyed it too.Breakfast in the hotel was a highlight setting us up for the day. The walk into Piazza Maggiore was at least 30 minutes but lots of cafes and bars along the way with fabulous food and drink.We also took a lovely tour bus around the medieval town. Back at the hotel the rooms were so comfortable clean and quiet the only criticism would be much is made about recycling and being eco friendly but maybe the cleaners were over zealous as they changed the towels daily whether we wanted them or not and there was excessive plastic packaging on bathroom items which they could cutback on. We enjoyed apperitivo in the garden with so many snacks we had little room for an evening meal! We would recommend this hotel without hesitation. A great stay.

This hotel is literally 7 mins away from the city centre and 5 minutes away from the Cersaie tile faire. The hotel is clean and comfortable and staff very friendly. I will definately stay again and will not hesitate to tell my friends. The taxi service is very good and comes down in 3 mins after being ordered. Very good overall!!

We had a short vacation in Emillia Romanga region. We decided to do a “star journey” and choose Bologna as a center. We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The hotel is about one kilometre from the old city but there is a very good public transportation to the city center. The room was OK, breakfast good but I must write few words about the hotel staff. All Of them were very friendly and spoke fluent English! (Very rare in Italy...). Recommend!

460 per night in euros! Worth 160. Nice room. Small. Not. Suite as advertised. No hot wAter in morning for five minutes. Poor location!! Not waking distance yo any major fights. Poor value. For 460 per night bar and dining room manager wants you to buy a drink in order to eat the chips and for a coffee take away wants to charge you for the continental breakfast. In face for the price breAkfast should be included. Absolutely nothing extraordinary. You could do much better. Spend less snd be closer to sights

Super Clean, friendly staff, very good location, 10 min walk from the train station, front desk always has staff helping you. They even have a computer you can use to book your excursions. Would definitely stay again.

Just back from a girls break, stayed at this hotel for 4 nights , very clean , staff are so helpful especially Erik in the restaurant who looked after us and worked so hard keeping everyone happy, and Simone (sorry if I have spelt your names wrong)on reception who helped us with maps and buses etc. We had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel was nice and staff of hotel so helpful and lovely. Location is great - short way to airport, railway station and city center. We had very happy time at Bologna. Thank you! We will come again!

If You find a good deal (like mine: 54 euros for a double with breakfast) - regarding location, standard, free parking etc. - it's a real top bargain. But that's it. Standard rooms are spacious but bathroom is rather *** not **** stars :) Breakfast is plentiful for Italian standards but if You compare it with German or Swiss **** stars You might change Your mind. So it's a matter of perspective and money paid. P.S. When commuting to city center with bus 27 remember to always choose Ca' Dei Fiori and FORGET what Google Maps will suggest :) The stop (both directions) is 50-100 m from the hotel.

General Stayed here for 4 night in February2018. Good location for railway station and airport. Staff always friendly and nothing is too much bother for them. Location Near station and airport 10 mins by taxi. Not too many restaurants nearby Service In all respects excellent. Front Office efficient. Housekeeping good. Restaurant and bar staff excellent. Room Reasonable in size and kept immaculately by housekeeping. Food and Drink Food good quality. Bar drinks were good. Breakfast was OK but could be improved.

Have just spent 3 nights in this hotel over the new year, excellent value for money, large clean and tidy rooms, staff were great very helpful and informative. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The walk into the city took about 20 mins but was easy lined with shops and bars if you want to catch bus that's easy too, purchase tickets at reception bus stop is just on the main road by the hotel 27 a or b. Taxi took 15mins from airport 18euros. Would definitely recommend a stay here for a short break in Bologna. Thanks to all for making our stay so pleasant.

The hotel is in a very good location , ok it is not very close to the centre and the sights but you can easily reach it by bus ( the bus station is outside the hotel ) E27 in five minutes. The bus runs frequently but if somebody wants to go on foot , the train station is 10 minutes walk from the hotel , and from there to the centre ,the road is full of shops and cafes. The rooms are small but very clean. Some of them, like the one I stayed in , need renovation because the furniture looks a little old . In other floors , I saw rooms very well decorated and probably recently renovated. Every day I had coffee and tea facilities. The bathroom is the best feature of the room ,very clean and very modern. The staff is very polite and they answered everything we asked them , always with a smile The breakfast is very good with a lot of things to eat . You will certainly leave the breakfast room on a full stomach and the same goes for dinner. Next to the reception there is a pc , so we printed the airline ticket there. Finally I believe that there must be better 4stars hotel than this one but I'm not sure if the other hotels are good value for money like this . If I ever visit Bologna again , I will certainly prefer it.

The first impression was amazing as the front desk staff was most welcoming and helpful - She was very enthusiastic about the hotel and what our experience would be in her city. The room was small , however the amenities and the comfort was great. I think that the bar service could be improved with a bit of enthusiasm.

I had a couple of nights here a few days ago and highly recommend this hotel. We found it to be well placed - about a 15 minute walk into the main area of the city. The room was immaculate, modern and comfortable with good beds and a good bathroom. Wifi available for free with the bonus of a computer if you prefer that to your mobile. Staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't use the restaurant or have breakfast here, electing instead to pop into a nearby bar/cafe for great coffee and pastries for an unbelievably cheap price. Free undercover secure parking was great too. I would stay here again and believe it is good value for money. I can be fussy at times, and this fit the bill for me.

The hotel was in a good location,just outside of the main piazza . It was around a twenty five minute walk but very pleasant. We found the hotel to be very clean although a little dated especially the bathroom in our room,but saying that it was perfectly fine. Breakfast was ok , average continental . We had a wonderful time in Bologna and would recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel as it is very well located and staff are very nice and helpful. Our room was ok but bathroom extremely dated and shower rather grotty. Disappointing for the room rate!!! Lovely terrasse for drinks before dinner, great view of roof tops and towers. Would go there again but would ask for better bathroom.

Nice hotel located in Bolognina suburb. Clean and efficient with friendly staff. Breakfast a little underwhelming so if you are feeling adventurous visit one of the many local cafes for a cappuccino and croissant. Great bus service into Centro (27).

The room even had a dressing. Breakfast was excellent. Parking was free and the hotel is still at walking distance from the center and much less expensive than the hotels there so we were happy with the location.

This Hotel is positioned well in relation to the airport, a 17 Euro taxi ride away. It is about 2 Km from the town centre and about 1 Km from the railway station, but there is a bus stop round the corner, with buses every ten minutes. Because of its position away from the City centre, it is quiet. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped for a middle range hotel. We were very pleased with ours which had plenty of room space, a walk in cupboard (almost a dressing room) and a large bath and separate shower. The staff were helpful and enthusiastic about their City. The breakfast buffet was perfectly adequate to give one a good start to the day. We did not eat dinner in the Hotel because the restaurant looked a bit basic, but we could tell it was OK because guests did use it in significant numbers.

We had a single night here. It was quite adequate for our stay. A little walk but safe into the old part of the city. Easy and adequate parking. Room was a little dated but everything worked and was clean. Always a big plus.

Stayed a few days here as always en route to our annual trip across Italy, everything good, size of room, everything spotless, nice & varied breakfast & free parking. The Hotel is away from the City Centre & a good but pleasant walk in through the many metres of covered arcades. This is s beautiful city renowned for fabulous food & does not disappoint in any way. We were disappointed to hear that the Bar is now managed by a different company to the Hotel & that we could not have refreshment when we wanted it as opening hours are limited, when we did manage to get a drink The wine was stale & unpleasant & no staff available to complain to. Also of concern to us is that rooms do not have a safety deposit box although security is available at reception. Overall a very pleasant stay as always, thanks to all staff we met

Very good hotel away from the main centre on one of the main roads into the city. Staff really excellent, very hopeful and spoke excellent english. Very good value and well worth using, small garden to have drinks/breakfast and a bar were complimentary snacks are served each evening. Rooms are large if a little dated, and well appointed.

The hotel is very nice: very clean, good, comfortable room, excelent air conditioning, spacious room and bathroom, good breakfast. The only minus is location: it is situated in Bolognina neighborhood, about 30 minutes by foot to city center, but the bus stop is right near the hotel.

This hotel is very clean and the room108 is spacious. It's in a peaceful spot. The dinner was good but the bar and restaurant is closed on a Sunday and "in August." The staff are most helpful. Leo and Sara at reception and the lady in the bar/restaurant. Roberto in the morning restaurant is chatty and helpful. It's a good walk from the hotel to Bologna Centre (Piazza Maggiore) but there is a small park with shade en route. A frequent bus is available 27 27a and reception sell tickets. Don't forget to validate on the bus. The bathroom is cosy. It is very clean. The room is left impeccable by the cleaning staff. The taxi fare to the airport is 16-18 Euro depending on traffic

The girls on reception were charming and helpful. Breakfast is busy but staff are helpful too. More of a business hotel but a 15 minute walk from the station so ideal for walking into the centre. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great value for a city break

Great little hotel a fair way from the city centre, 10 mins on the bus. Restaurant is good with great service and selection of food Bathroom is a little dated and showed a little small for the larger person. Bec comfy and AC in the rooms. A bit noisy at night outside

Some people have commented on the location - yes it is a short bus ride from outside the hotel to the centre, or a fair walk, but no inconvenience for having a great location in a quiet spot. The staff are all very helpful and friendly with nothing too much trouble - providing bus tickets, phoning restaurants, etc. The room was spotless with a good bathroom with bath and walk in shower and plenty of towels. The bed was really comfy and large and with the location could sleep with the window open, which is not always the case.My husband was taken with the walk in wardrobe which meant the room wasn't cluttered with cases etc. We arrived on Saturday and were not inclined to go far, a short walk to the supermarket and then dinner in the hotel restaurant. Not the usual hotel food - super quality cured meats and delicious just made crescenti then pasta with wild boar ragu and bolognaise sauce. Just went for a 3 night short break will certainly be back to both Bologna and this hotel.. Got a taxi to the airport - cheaper and a lot less hassle than the airport bus.

The room had a large bed with a good mattress and good pillows. The bathroom had enough space but they still use shower curtains - even though they looked good. The breakfast was good and you could choose from a variety of breads, cakes, cheeses, sausages, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, cereals and fruit. Dinner was good and you get 10% off as a guest. The location is a little hidden but they have parking spaces which is a must in a city like Bologna.

Horrible hotel! Extremely small shower around 70 x 70cm with only around 30cm width entrance... Cannot turn around while showering! Booked a non-smoking room but only get the last one smoking room... Crappy bathroom. Definitely not 4 star hotel, even worse than most of 1 star hotel with 40€ per night.

Stayed 3 nights on a short leisure break. Our room was spacious, very quiet, spotlessly clean- fresh towels every day with tea coffee and a kettle! Bathroom had a large corner bath which we used to luxuriate in after a days walking. The receptionist was very helpful on check in - supplied us with a street map and taxis and restaurants were booked for us when we requested. Breakfast was continental and plentiful- coffee was good. Didn't eat dinner here- too many restaurants in town to try. Yes it is out of town but the walk is very easy- one straight road . If you visit San Luca Basilica DONT bother with the road train but instead get a taxi from hotel and then walk down. Taxi was 15e from this hotel train charges 10e each and you have to get into town first!

The hotel is very good, and the rooms are excellent, the breakfast is also well served. The only point against is that it is quite far from downtown if you have to walk. The Hotel also has a car parking.

This hotel is clean and the staff if friendly. But, that's basically it. This is Europe so the bedrooms are going to be small just about anywhere you stay. The beds are hard and the pillows are like the ones you get on an airplane. The rooms are hot! Even in the early spring. Only an American that is used to air conditioning would really notice this. As far as Europen hotels goes, this is slightly above average. If you're American, this is more like a Motel 6 that is clean.

This hotel is basic and located some distance outside of the city centre in a rather rough area. The hotel reception staff are pleasant enough, however they advised us that we could purchase bus tickets at the hotel to ride the local bus into the city centre. They failed to inform us though of the need to validate our purchased tickets once on the bus, which resulted in a thoroughly awful and intimidating experience that culminated in a €130 fine or police action. Both the hotel and Best Western Head Office failed to acknowledge the lack of advice given to its guests by its staff. We were offered to reimbursement and no apology. We will not be using any Best Western hotel in the future.

We visited this hotel for five days, and had a great time. About twenty five minutes walk from the center, and short to the bus and railway station. The staff was very helpful and made the stay extra special. The food was very good, and the room was great at that price. We would most definetely come back, if opportunity came. Absolutely recommended :-D

Booked this hotel because it looked as it was fairly easy to get there by car, and it provides parking - and that is just how it was. In addition it was quite clean and comfy, with better than usual breakfast (I exeprienced some pretty poor breakfasts thru Italy, but this was very good), bus station that will get you on the bus towards City center is just 50 meters away, staff was very nice and all in all, great value for Money.

Stayed here for two nights. Really nice hotel for the price. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Good onsite restaurant with good food. Convenient location - close to airport and close to city center.

This hotel is perfectly adequate and if you like a little bit of a suburban feel to your stay, it is really OK. That being said, it's really a pretty dull little place. It's clean and your room should be comfortable. The staff is nice, etc. If I were to do it over again, I would look for a hotel nearer to the center of the Old Town, as one is likely to loose some time walking from there to the hotel location.

Stayed for 3 nights, and it proved excellent for our needs. It is outside the main city area. We got the shuttle from the airport to the station - pre-bought tickets online. The walk from the station (about 15 mins) includes some some slightly scruffy bits, but we felt safe walking during the day and evening. Taking a taxi from the airport could be a more straight forward option. The return shuttle bus was pretty crowded. The number 27 bus stops close to the hotel, you can buy tickets from the reception staff, and this goes to the station, and then further into the city centre. The reception staff are fairly friendly and helpful, and our room 107, was very good. Spacious, comfortable bed, good wifi, and nice bathroom. The outward facing desk in the room was a good design feature. Breakfast was excellent, lots of cold choices, and particularly imaginative selection of sweet cakes and parties. The coffee machine produced decent coffees, but we then took up their offer to make custom espressos and macchiatos - which were super. We ate in the hotel restaurant for our first night. The menu was good, local dishes rather than generic tourist hotel fare. We enjoyed our dinner. We ate out for the next 2 nights, both restaurants within easy walking distance. The reception staff were happy to ring through and book a table for us. We enjoyed Bologna, and would like to return. If we did we might investigate options nearer the centre of town, but would be very happy to return here - especially as our rate represented very excellent value.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the main railway station where the airport shuttle bus stops and a further 15 minutes walk from the centre of Bologna. It is a nice mid scale hotel. Rooms are a good size and come with hairdryer, kettle and fridge. Our room even had a walk in wardrobe to store your gear. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet even though we were at the front of the hotel The breakfast, at €3 each was a bargain, with plenty to eat and drink. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop around the corner and the hotel sells bus tickets and if you need some provisions there is a good supermarket about 5 minutes away. Overall a good value choice if you don't mind being out of the centre of the city.

A good standard city centre hotel in a convenient location to explore the city. Overall it was good value. Clean, comfortable and I enjoyed a good night's sleep. No complaints but not much to shout about either.

We stayed here for 4 nights and were initially very pleased with the price we paid for the rooms. There were a few downsides - the air conditioning worked on the first night but then failed to work and the rooms were very, very hot. After checking with reception, we were told that, as it was October, the air con had been switched off. We slept with the windows opened and then had to listen to the local's partying until past 3am in the morning!!!! The hairdryer in one of the rooms was of the very old type attached as a hose to the bathroom wall and was completely useless. The hotel seems really substantial but the walls must be very thin as we could hear chatter constantly from the room next door. For anyone with mobility problems, this could be a touch too far from the old town itself. We like walking and tend to walk quite quickly and it took us 30 minutes or so to walk into the town. On the upside - the breakfast is very good value for money

Great place to stay. Staff was super friendly and spoke English well. Room was super clean and they had a nice breakfast buffet in the morning. It was very affordable and safe it was well worth the money.

Luckily we only stayed one night as we passed through Bologna. The hotel lobby gave a good initial impression and the check in staff were friendly and efficient. The problem was that they gave us a disabled room on the third floor (314). The room feels dated and there are stains on the ceiling. The bathroom is set up for wheelchair access which is probably great if you are in a wheelchair. The sink is set low and has no plug for some reason. The sink is so low it is difficult to use, I am certainly not going to try to shave while I am here. The toilet is set high on a pedestal and doesn't have a normal seat. The plastic seat which sits on top of the toilet is difficult to sit on. The shower is a wet room style, I have yet to find out if it will flood the bathroom floor. On a general note I found it to be a noisy room. I'm not sure how old the building is, possibly built in the 80's, however the noise reduction of the traffic and people in the corridor or the room above is poor. However the worst aspect of the room was when the person upstairs got up early and had a shower. Initially I thought water was pouring into our room from somewhere! The noise of water running in the pipes was very loud and the sound of water splashing onto the plastic shower tray was very annoying. It also seemed to continue for some time after the person had finished their shower. I don't know if they gave us the worst room in the hotel because we are only here for one night but it has certainly lowered my impression on Best Westerns. If you want some quiet nights in the lovely city of Bologna this is not the hotel for you.

When picking a hotel in Bologna, we were confused whether or not to be a little bit "out" of town, or to stay in the hubbub - in the end we plumped for the BW and I'm so pleased we did, as it was quiet, calm and very welcoming. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and the room was lovely - clean, comfortable, with the most amazing, firm bed and beautiful bathroom, with a full length bath (vital after a hard day's walking) and powerful shower. The breakfast buffet was freshly prepared and extensive - and the staff were all smiling and welcoming. Can't fault it - we'll definitely be back.

BW is our go-to brand whenever we travel, did not disappoint in Bologna! The bed was harder than what we are normally used to and shower a tad tiny, but overall a well-equipped room and a pleasant one-night stay for us. It's an extremely welcoming and presentable hotel no less. Good location, 5-10 minute bus ride to the train station and the touristy areas. We could purchase the bus ticket at the hotel which was hugely helpful!

We got a very warm welcome here and the room was really very nice for this price category with lots of space, a nice wooden floor, desk and even a walk-in wardrobe. Everything was spotlessly clean. Although there is no safe in the room itself, we could store our valuables downstairs in safe deposit boxes in the reception area. The only minor issue was that I found the air conditioning a bit too noisy, so I decided to turn it off and open the windows over night, which was okay. It was a bit of a walk into the city centre but manageable. Free parking was also good.

We spent in BW City Hotel a couple of days before our holidays in Rimini and after them as our flights were to/from Bologna airport. Definitely, this hotel offers very good value for money. Location: The hotel is situated in a quiet area not far from the center. It is a relatively short drive from the airport (it took us about 10 minutes around midnight with no traffic at a very fair price). The central railway station is at a walking distance - it took us 15 minutes with luggage, the road is very good with special ramps for luggage, so there is no need to take a taxi to the railway station (they also have a bus stop near the hotel and you can reach the railway station by bus but we didn't use it). To reach the downtown Bologna you can either walk (that's what we did and never used public transport as Bologna is not very big) or take a bus. There is a big Pam Supermarket close to the hotel if you need food or drinks. Room: The room is spaceous enough even for 3 people (2ad+1ch) with a walk-in wardrobe which I particularly liked as you can keep all the things there and the room looks very neat. The child's bed is a fold-out sofa but very comfortable. The AC was very good during our first visit but was hardly controllable on our way back but we didn't report the problem so may be it was only our room problem. There is a minibar in the room. The bathroom is small but clean. I would appreciate more shelves in the bathroom as there is no place to put all that lady's stuff. Breakfast: Very good especially considering the price paid. It was more than enough for us. The service is very good. They bring really good coffee if you ask. Reception: The girls at the reception are very helpful and address all the issues in a very efficient way. I would definitely stay here again as it is really very good value for money.

The Best Western City Hotel Bologna is a great hotel choice and a good value for your money. It's conveniently located, simple and clean, with staff that makes you feel at home. For walking lovers, it's within walking distance (25 - 30 min) from downtown and from the train station (about 10 min). Additionally, it offers the security of a well-established world-wide hotel chain.

The hotel was relatively easy to get to by bus or taxi. A few local eateries and small grocer's within walking distance otherwise a taxi or bus 27 will take you right to the central train station which gives you access to every mode of transport. A 24 hours bus pass is only 5 Euro, which can be bought in the lobby of the hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We had a ton of questions and they were able to assist with everything we asked. The hotel is well kept and very clean. A magnificent breakfast from 0730 to 1030, the dining room staff will gladly make you a fresh cappuccino or expresso. The WiFi works well with no issues. They have a restaurant on site, and they offered us a 10% discount however we didn't eat in. All in all a great experience. A taxi to the airport runs about 15 Euro

The hotel was nice and the wifi worked well. The breakfast was good. The hotel was clean, nice bed and bathroom, but the receptionists were not friendly or helpful at all. I asked for a map and some places they would recommend to visit. I received eye rolls and attitude. I had previously booked a room through trip advisor and I paid for a room that came with breakfast. The receptionist still made me pay again for breakfast. The hotel is out of the way but quiet. It is about 10-15 minutes from the train station.

I was traveling with family and stayed here for a few days. The hotel is located close to city center, 15 min walking distance to central station, 15-20 min driving from airport (paid around 17 euro for taxi). Room was neat and comfortable; free wifi, electrical kettle and coffee/tee included. Bed was soft and comfortable. Unfortunately it didn't contain safe. Room service is daily. Worth to mention that the staff was pleasant and very helpful. If you have any question, just approach the front desk and they'll do their best to help you; special thanks to Vasiko who helped a lot with questions, tips and hints for our trip. My room option didn't include breakfast, so with really small price of 3 euro per person per day we had a very good breakfast. Surprisingly it was free of charge for my kids. Breakfast is reach, ask restaurant staff and they'll make a true Italian espresso for you. In the lobby you may find a computer and printer for free of charge to print boarding passes and etc. Note, that at check out you may be asked for city tax (1.5 euro per day per adult) which I think is common in Italy. In general I think Best Western keeps it's standards.

I would recommend the Best Western City Hotel in Bologna for those who want a combination of a quiet neighbourhod with easy access to the city centre and a good price-quality ratio. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and staff very helpful.

We stayed in this hotel for one night, the bathroom was huge, the bed comfortable. We booked this hotel because they offered gluten free breakfast, that was quite a disappointment though. I mean, you would expect something else than rice cakes and cornflakes when they explicitely advertise having gluten free food. It wouldn't hurt to get a piece of bread or something. Otherwise I was satisified with the service. The normal breakfast was excellent for example with a great variety. There was even bacon and dried tomatoes.

We needed a family room for one night on our drive home. The Best Western offered two connecting rooms and it was affordably priced. Rooms very dated but clean, secure parking in the basement, good buffet breakfast

Nothing to complain about this hotel. We were able to safely leave our luggage with them before check-in and after check-out, Breakfast was definitely nice, lots of choices, very good coffee (if you ask the waiters for it, not from the machine). The room was very comfortable, and the location was good. Complimentary coffee/tea/water at the lobby was also a very nice surprise and proved very useful while we waited for our train. Excellent hotel!

We stayed there for one night during New Year's eve and I have to say that the hotel was really decent. The room was clean, spacious, bathroom clean as well and bed comfortable. Even though it was New year's eve it was silent at the hotel. The location is convenient as well, fairly close to the central station and a 20 minute walk to the market square. Breakfast was satisfactory as well, only the waiters could be more helpful and sympathetic.There is also a great supermarket nearby.I recommend this hotel :)

Its a Nice Property located at 10 mins walking distance from the Bologna Central Station & 20 mins to City center. Hotel is right on Via Ambrogio Magenta, but you have to go under the Building cross the parking area 15 meters max to the Hotel entrance..

Very good quality hotel, very reasonable tariff. Breakfast included. Parking included - which is a bonus in Italian cities. Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Well appointed bathroom. Wifi worked very well. Breakfast is very good, with a number of choices available. Staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. Overall very satisfied with our stay.

Very good location: on the one hand, nearly in the centre (25 minutes' walk to the historic centre), on the other hand easy access to motorway and to the airport (4 km). I had a very good one night experience in this hotel. I just stayed there to sleep after a concert but I really enjoyed it. Very good presence, clean and pleasant to see. The breakfast was yummy. The stuff was all gentle and the price is perfect for the service. I'll surely come back in future.

This hotel is very good for a business trip. Quiet place, not far from the airport (15/20 minutes by taxi), and with easy access to the city center if you want to visit the city. The staff is very professional. Rooms were very clean. Not extremely big, but they also have a corner with a small table if you need to work with your notebook. The wi-fi is excellent and it works very well. It was one of the fastest wifi I ever found in an hotel in Italy.

Comfortable and clean accommodation , free wifi, very good breakfast, just 1 km off the city centre on foot (even though to get there one has to travel through some dodgy looking areas - we ended up taking a taxi in the evening in order to a'avoid complications').

Hotel is excellent in terms of room provided, cleanliness and staff efficiency Where it falls down is that the location is a little depressed and makes you feel just a little edgy as you walk through it to the city centre. I've also taken further marks as the hotel supposedly has a bar and restaurant but found during my stay in August (peak season) that both were shut for two weeks which to my mind is not really satisfactory for a good hotel chain such as Best Western

Hotel is clean and fairly priced. Breakfast is typical and more than decent considering it is included in the price of the room. 3 were accommodated in a king (2 singles together) and a loveseat opened into a full size bed which is not very comfortable at all and winds up leaving little room to get around. Bathroom showers are ridiculously small corner showers with about 12-15 inches to enter and very little room to maneuver once you are in there. Again for the price of 100-115 euro per night, well worth it. WIFI is awful. They have a ridiculous system that you have to keep logging into almost daily (sometimes more often) that is very slow in the process. Eventually it does work. A little far to walk to center of town (25min), reasonable walk to train station (15 min) which we did daily. There are buses to the center (27A I believe), that stop right by the hotel and in the center of town. Bottom line, I would stay there again.
