We stayed one night in this hotel. Through no fault of the hotel, the entire Beaufort area plus areas in South Carolina, North Carolina and Alabama had lost internet and cell phone service because of a fiber interruption (whatever that means according to the news media and was before Hurricane Helene started into the US southeast). The hotel room was very clean, the television channels still worked and they have a open lift for up to two people and luggage to get to the second floor. The highlight of this hotel was the breakfast room. Bobby Jack was the hostess there and her breakfast selection she prepares was great. She had made stone ground grits, scrambled eggs (real eggs, no powdered ones) and rosemary potatoes. She posts what each day will have for breakfast. We also met the manager, Lisa, who helped us with any questions we had. The hotel is walking distance, one block to the first gift shop on the main street. We would return to this hotel.
Ideal, quiet location, clean room, comfortable bed, very good hot breakfast. What made my stay the best overall was the staff. Thank you Marie for checking me in. Thank you Toni for your attentiveness and great conversation. Thank you all for making my friends birthday special with complimentary wine and REAL glasses!
Located right in the heart of downtown Beaufort. Easily walkable to shops and restaurants. Staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast one of the best we've had for a hotel chain. Beds & pillows comfortable. Only con is the air conditioner is a bit noisy.
This hotel is extremely convenient to downtown Beaufort, which is a huge plus. My room was clean and the A/C was great. If you have heavy luggage and are on the upper level, there is a “lift” so you don't have to haul your bags up the stairs. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
Wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. We love coming to Beaufort to unwind. The hotel is one block from Bay Street and the waterfront. Leave your car at the hotel and leisurely walk around downtown Beaufort. Breakfast both days was the best we've had, seriously. The facility is immaculate, the grounds are kept clean and nicely groomed, the staff is 5 star. When the hotel manager found out we were celebrating our anniversary, we were gifted later that evening with fresh fruit and cannoli's! The rooms are spotless and the area is quiet. We'll be back.
The hotel is located in the historic district surrounded by antebellum houses and shadowed by moss covered trees. It is in walking distance to the harbor, shops, parks, and running trails. The staff is efficient, friendly, and helpful. They serve a delicious breakfast.
Stayed overnight for the 4th of July and had a wonderful time! This hotel fits perfectly with the charming coastal town it sits in. It's beautiful and clean. I love the peaceful balcony to sit and people watch or listening to seaside sounds. The staff is super friendly and helpful with everything including local suggestions as well as breakfast set up and keeping all items stocked to quick housekeeping requests.
This hotel is a real gem! Reasonable prices, fantastic location, clean rooms, delicious free breakfast and free parking. We didn't need to use the car the entire three day visit; restaurants and shopping were within easy walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Beaufort, SC.
Excellent hotel (best BW we've stayed at) in the middle of Old South Beaufort. Nice breakfast with lots of choices, room is big, clean, very quiet and comfortable; easy walking to everything; nice outdoor pool and outdoors seating with view of the Marina. Last, but not least, very friendly and helpful staff (e.g., Katrina at front desk, breakfast room hostess) and very good housekeeping staff.
Great hotel! Great location! Price for the room was excessive , but we were not sure if this was to do with the upcoming 4th July celebrations
If you like the smell of mold and mildew, stay here and request room 141. Front desk did nothing to rectify the situation. I contacted the GM who has yet to follow up or provide restitution. The shower enamel was peeling. My hot water had coffee granules in it as well as being a shade of brown. I'm a BW member and have serious doubt about using my membership again.
This place looked Super cute with its shutters and red Brick design. The room was beautifully decorated with a very coastal feel with its blue and white finishes. The room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and comfortable. It was also within walking distance of the historic town. We had a king bed, very comfy. The room had black out blinds, a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom had fluffy towels, nice toiletries including shampoo, conditioner and body lotion (very small bathroom, I'd say compact). The air con worked well, it was noisy. There was also a dehumidifier, that was really noisy and did disturb my sleep. Breakfast was great, there was a good hot and cold selection to eat, all good quality fresh and served in a lovely clean room. All in all a good stay, little pricey but think that is the area in general.
Close to everything, and the best staff around. We selected this Inn because of it's great reviews. Right on the money! The staff is friendly and responsive. The breakfast are a step up from the usual fare. The bed was super comfortable and could not find a down side. It is older and small, but up to date and clean
I would recommend this inn to anyone without any hesitation for all the reasons in the title. Complimentary breakfast is far better than you usually get! The rooms were perfectly decorated for the Beaufort area, and the beds were so comfortable. There were thoughtful touches everywhere!
Perfect location, amazing views, the wonderful breakfast, spacious room, helpful and friendly staff made for the best experience in Beaufort, South Carolina. We will return!
Love the location which is within walking distance to downtown Beaufort and the scenery is breathtaking.
We stayed here due to being in town for military graduation. We walked downtown which was great. We never had to drive until we went to the graduation at Parris Island which was about 10-20 minutes. We would definitely come back to spend some time here and stay at this Best Western.
Extremely conveniently located right across from the harbor and the festival activities. Friendliest and most hospitable staff and very accommodating. Best hotel breakfasts, fresh and "homemade". Will definitely visit again. Free parking helped too..
Made reservations for particular room in early March. Visit was a combination of business and pleasure, a late anniversary. Hotel accepted my request and was reserved with credit card. When we arrived, room was not available. Manager kept mumbling about not knowing what happened, but being in customer service myself over 50 years, I could tell he was not being truthful. All he had to do is to call or send email explaining the situation would have been all it would have taken. But it is obvious that customer service doesn't mean anything to this facility.
Beaufort is loaded with great Inns, but the Best Western Sea Island out delivers for the money. Great location, spacious rooms that are modern and sparkling clean, lovely breakfasts with more than the usuals, and friendly staff. It's a great place.
My mother and I spent two nights at the BW Sea Island Inn after leaving Hilton Head where we had attended a memorial service. The location of this inn is excellent, very convenient and just barely outside the busiest area of downtown which I prefer. Most shops and restaurants were walking distance, and the river is visible from the inn. Our two Queen room was updated and very comfortable. The included breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of continental items (cereal, yogurt, make your own waffles, toast, muffins, etc.) along with a rotating selection of hot and homemade items. My favorites were the breakfast burritos and creamy grits! I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel was great. It's right across from the water and within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed borrowing bikes for a day to ride around town and borrowing the park pass to spend a day at Hunting Island. Breakfast was also good and there was a lot of variety. All staff were great, friendly and helpful.
Extremely conveniently located right across from the harbor and the festival activities. Friendliest and most hospitable staff. Best hotel breakfasts. Free parking.
This is such a gem in Beaufort! Beautiful, clean, phenomenal location in the historic district across from the Marina. Cookies next to the coffee! We had an amazing stay!
Fantastic location, helpful and nice staff, great breakfast and nicely updated rooms. The room had everything we needed and all seemed pretty new. Parking was convenient, and because of the location we walked everywhere. Staff had great suggestions when asked. We had a great stay and hope to come back soon!
Very clean room - check! Good breakfast - check! Nice staff - check! Consistent parking - check! The location is awesome if you want to spend time at the charming waterfront, touring, or walking around the beautiful historic district. I would stay here again for sure.
Great location with ample working and friendly staff. The room and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was great. We were within walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Took a nice walk along the river and enjoyed the many available swinging benches along the way.
What a gem. I'm not normally a fan of Best Western but the Sea Island Inn is an exception. The rooms are nice sized and very clean, tons of free parking, great location right on the bay, a friendly staff, and a killer free breakfast. One day they had great breakfast quesadillas, fluffy scrambled eggs, pork sausages, and waffles, among other items. I highly recommend this inn.
Having never stayed in Beaufort South Carolina before we had choices of boutique hotels that seems quaint. However, I was traveling with my daughter and most rooms were not offered with double beds. Best Western Sea Island resort offered a room overlooking the marina at the end of what was a very busy retail district. We could not be more pleased with our choice to stay here! Extremely convenient to shops/restaurants. Great parking and full breakfast. We felt very safe as it was myself and my daughter traveling alone for a wedding. Thank you to Buddy for handling our reservation and sharing your information about the town!
An excellent option when you are visiting the South Carolina low country. Fresh hot complimentary breakfast. Located in the heart of downtown, convenient for walking tours. Courteous welcoming staff.
What an amazing property! Customer service is Epic! They REALLY care and cater to you! The rooms are beautifully appointed and contemporary! Prestine and Spotless! Comfy beds! Waters are complimentary, plus cookies at the desk. This is your true downtown spot! Waterfront! Horseback carriages and piers one block away! Everything is minutes within reach. Shelly, manager in the dining room, brought us wine and a Shandy to help us celebrate our 45th Nursing College reunion. We will never forget her kindness and hospitality! The reception desk staff, including Katrina, are super stars! This is your must stay place in Beaufort!
As a light sleeper, I had asked for a quiet room and Katrina was most accommodating. Room 221 was just recently renovated and decorated: It was clean with comfortable beds and plentiful towels. Although the unit had A/C, we appreciated that we could open the windows to allow fresh air in. Breakfast was served in a spacious room with sufficient tables for guests even on the weekend. In addition to eggs prepared on-site in a variety of ways, offerings included bacon, fresh fruit, muffins, toast, cereal, yogurt, and more. Coffee, tea and pre-packaged cookies were available 24/7 in the lobby. Location was perfect with restaurants and shopping just a block away.
It is a great hotel only 150 yards from the waterfront and downtown shops/restaurants along Bay Street. The park has lots of swings so that you can sit looking out over the bay and boats. We checked out free bikes (they have 4) and rode the Spanish moss trail. Breakfast included standard fare plus several delicious hot items (different menu each day) with real eggs and a home baked item such as iced cinnamon rolls. We stayed on the 2nd floor back section and it was very quiet with a comfy bed and lots of pillow choices. It was clean and everything worked well.
Staff was great, especially Katrina on second shift. She was the cutest, sweetest, friendliest front desk employee I have ever encountered. The room was great, very comfortable bed and pillows. Showrr was wonderful. The morning breakfast was out of this world. Bobbi in the dining area was great. Hotel in awesome location, right in downtown Beaufort. Bay street was awesome. Walking distance to all the shops and some restaurants. Henry Chambers PRk across the street. Beautiful and relaxing.
Our room was updated and clean. Our 1st floor room enabled us to easily unload the car. It's a great location with easy walks to area attractions, shopping, and restaurants. Breakfast was awesome, complete with homemade baked delicacies, which I've never experienced before at a free breakfast. It's clear that the staff takes pride in their work. Good WiFi and great water pressure in the shower.
The hotel is on the coast, in the historical district., minutes from great food, drink and shopping... beautiful outside seating at the hotel. Right across the street is a tour company (horse drawn carriage or golf cart). A must stay location!!!
Outstanding location; amenities, shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Hotel staff were very helpful and provided excellent suggestions for places to see and directions. Most impressive was the breakfast building which is adjacent to the hotel and can only be accessed with a room key.
We enjoyed our stay at Sea Island Inn. The location is very good for walking around Beaufort. We had an accessible room, as that was all that was available when we booked. Breakfast was good but we were surprised that there was no bread or toaster available. However there were cookies and coffee available at reception all day.
This older hotel is a gem in so many ways. Although the doors are all exterior doors, we felt safe in the area. The hotel has higher-end fixtures in the bathrooms and very comfortable beds. We were able to walk to all the shops, tours, churches, and restaurants in the area. Breakfast is a cut above most hotel breakfasts with freshly made food. Be sure to take the mini-bus tour with Heather to get acclimated to the beautiful town. Don't miss the National Cemetery nor the Port Royal Cypress Wetlands at dusk to see the variety of birds come in for roosting.
I simply can not say enough wonderful things about this perfect place in Beaufort! From the lovely front desk lady to the very sweet housekeeper and then to the nicest lady who made us an amazing breakfast. Thank you so much! The room was perfect, location was perfect, I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended!!
Lovely rooms, good size, comfy bed and bedding, with desk and chair as well as comfy chair. Nice bench ottoman at end of bed for additional seating/storage. Large TV as well. Looks newly renovated - nice floors also. Free breakfast was above the good level - they had a list of the special entrees for each day. Staffed as well. Walking distance to downtown Beaufort, and the parking is included at the hotel as well. Housekeeping was also just right for 2 night stay. Highly recommend. Pool for the summer.
Overall the room was clean, quality of the bathroom facilities was great, location is ideal, and the staff are extremely hospitable and friendly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Definitely definitely would highly recommend this Inn. It was perfect in every way! Will no doubt stay here again. The staff, rooms, delicious breakfast with fabulous choices, location, and decorations for the holidays were perfect in every way.
The location cannot be beat. The waterfront is almost across the street. A lovely place to walk. The stores and restaurants are about a block away. The Inn offered a surprisingly good breakfast, which was included in the price. My only observation is that as of September 2023, there was no elevator. There are first floor rooms, so be sure to ask for one if you cannot walk up stairs. They were very nice about it and smilingly helped us with luggage but we realized the stairs would be difficult for some people.
Rooms were very clean, staff was helpful and friendly, the hotel is located right town, within easy walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The hotel also has a free hot breakfast every morning, with lots of choices.
Room very dated with a stale smell. Loud toilet. Pool was dirty. Be careful showering bc if someone else (in another room) was, you're getting burned. Very disappointed with the overall experience. It is what it is tho.
Best location in downtown Beaufort to stay. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Great breakfast offerings and pleasant staff at all levels. Walking tours of beautiful homes and churches. Great water views and spots to stop and take in nature.
A great spot across the street from the water and in the historic district of Beaufort. The room was nicely updated and the breakfast area and the breakfast was superb. Everything was clean and well maintained. This hotel was a historic hotel a century or so ago so lots of history in this beautiful town. I definitely want to return here to BW and Beaufort. Were staying in HIlton Head and decided to get away for a couple days - good choice to choose Beaufort.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was clean and beautiful. The staff were especially friendly, kind, and helpful during our stay. The breakfast was exceptional. I highly recommend Best Western-Sea Island to anyone looking for a top-notch visit.
Had a great time. The location, as others mention, is marvelous. The staff was very friendly, particularly Katrina who works evenings - went way out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. The bed was pretty comfortable albeit a little stiff, the air conditioning was amazing which is important in a hot location, and there was plenty of hot water and good pressure. Just a couple things to note: this hotel does not have an elevator so you'll need to carry bags up 15 or so steps if on second floor, and I'm told the first sells out quickly. Our room didn't have a great view of anything in particular - the window faced an interior wall - but the upside was it was super dark so we slept really well. There was a little noise from the hallway/next door but nothing that was any kind of a big deal. The TV could be a little bigger, but you're not going to be hanging out in the room that much anyway. The only thing I didn't love was the pre-pay, and you can't change any of your dates after the cancellation deadline meaning even the last day of a five or so day stay is nonrefundable. Made me a bit nervous shelling out for an entire stay in advance at a place I'd never been before, luckily everything turned out fine. This reminds me of the historic properties I've stayed at in the Caribbean, everybody is there for a good time and it's a lot of fun. Another couple of real upsides: the breakfast has a lot of variety and is in a huge room w/choice of outside tables, and we LOVED using the hotel's pass for beautiful Hunting Island State Park. We'll be back, probably pretty soon.
This place was amazing, the perfect place to stay in Beaufort. Walking distance to everything. The rooms were so clean, the breakfast was great, and everyone was so friendly. A special thank you to Buddy for getting us a 1st floor room at the very last minute. We highly recommend this hotel and we look forward to staying there again soon
The Sea Island Inn is located in downtown Beaufort, a short walk to the water and shopping. Excellent friendly staff. Rooms were clean, with excellent water pressure in the shower. Great FREE breakfast!
Annual trip from Charleston to Beaufort. Stay was great, location is the best and the staff was amazing. Dedication and pride of staff was apparent throughout entire stay and at every amenity. Will now be my go to location.
What a beautiful hotel. We were taking a slow road trip up the eastern coast and decided to stop in Beaufort, SC. So glad we selected Sea Island Inn. Rooms were large, updated and very clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast had so many delicious options, hot and cold. Favorite was the mini waffles (you can make fresh). They actually had fresh fruit-watermelon, pineapple, strawberries-along with the best cinnamon rolls that were definitely homemade. The Inn is across the street from the Riverfront park and marina with pathway along the seawall. There are swings along the way to take a break and the landscaping was beautiful. Make sure to walk around and read the plaques describing the history of Beaufort. Location could not have been more perfect. Restaurants, shopping and historical buildings is within walking distance of hotel. I love this place.
One of our favorite hotels: fantastic location; lovely room (comfy bed/ updated rooms); crazy good FREE homemade Breakfast buffet. Really nice pool. Exceptional staff - there to help, share local knowledge & history. Truly
This would be a perfect score hotel visit with beautiful property and perfect location and a top notch breakfast! Beds were comfortable bedding is high quality! Rooms were spotless. However the AC units are loud and need to be updated
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable. The pool was nice and refreshing. The breakfast was great, it had a good selection of items. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect to walk to all of the restaurants on the river front!
The location is perfect. Right in the middle of the beautiful historic area of Beaufort. The rooms were very clean and the staff was customer friendly. They even went out of their way to help with a flat tire upon departure.
This hotel is an excellent place to stay. I would give it Excellent plus!!! It is very clean. The beds are comfortable. The outside areas are also very nice..it is across from the Harbor. It is walkable to parks stores and resturants!!!!
Absolutely love this hotel Within walking distance to all resturaants and outside bars Great view on waterfront. Definetly a must stay. Quish lorraine fabulous Very friendly staff. Plenty yo do here
Convenient location, wonderful staff. We have stayed here many times in the past but not recently and since the last time. the hotel has been done over. Rooms are tastefully done, everything was clean. Air conditioner is a bit noisy but aren't they all? Staff was wonderful from the maintenance staff to reception. Breakfast is the best hotel buffet breakfast I have ever had -well cooked eggs, food was always hot, variety each day. Highly recommend.
Excellent location, steps away from historic Beaufort. Set amidst the beautiful historic homes of Beaufort, it was the best stay of our trip. We arrived without a reservation and, took a chance on stopping. I am so fortunate we did. The wonderful lady at the desk was more than accommodating. We were booked into a beautiful, clean, comfortable room. The bed was excellent and, we slept soundly. And, the shower - perfect! I could have stayed under that shower head for a very long time. I would highly recommend Sea Island Best Western. We will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.
This Best Western is clean, comfortable and well maintained. Conveniently located on Bay Street, close to shops, restaurants and views of the bay. The true discovery was the complimentary breakfast buffet, so well attended to by a pair of enthusiastically dedicated fun and friendly ladies. There were an abundance of choices: hot waffles (with peanut butter), two varieties of quiche, breakfast burritos, sausage, bacon, cereals, oat meals, fresh blue berry muffins, fresh breads, eggs, fruit juices... Just a great way to start the day.
Super location. Super service. The breakfast was off the charts! If you want to get a feel for the "real" Beaufort this motel is your best option. You can walk to everything in the downtown historic district. We loved it!
We spent an afternoon in Beaufort in 2022 and wanted to see more when we were in the area in 2023. We spent 3 nights at the hotel, exploring downtown Beaufort and surrounding areas. Hunting Island is worth the drive.
We stayed here for the convenience of travel to Parris Island for my son's graduation. So glad we chose this one. As soon as you open the door to the lobby, the charm hits you. The smell is amazing. Nice little snacks with a hot cocoa bar as well as cupcakes and cakepops. It was by far very welcoming. The staff was by far the most welcoming and friendly i have ever experienced. If there were 10 stars... They would get them all.
What a great place to stay. Everything was just perfect. Great breakfast, friendly, helpful staff and clean comfortable rooms. Not to mention, the location is the best in town. I highly recommend this Inn. You will not be disappointed.
Clean and friendly. My stay was so enjoyable. The staff were so helpful. The hotel breakfast was very good. Even fresh croissants and pumpkin bread. The location is perfect. great places to walk and close to dining. Beautiful scenery.
So impressed with this hotel and staff. Upon check-in we were greeted by Savanah. She was so nice and helpful. We stayed in room 210 with the front view of the park and marina. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and has great pillows. The morning breakfast was fantastic with homemade bread and pastry. Fresh eggs and bacon and really good coffee. We have stayed in Beaufort before and easily spent $30.00 for breakfast that was not this good. It is very apparent that a lot of love, care and pride went into this delicious meal. The hotel is in a great location and very easy to walk to any restaurant or bar. My husband and I have stayed in a few places in Beaufort. We have now found our place to return to.
Staff very helpful and informative. The room was very clean. Enjoyed where the property was, so close to shopping and restaurants. There was a lot of historical places nearby. Close to the water and park.
The hotel itself was in a great location at the waterfront. The room was very nice and clean and quiet. Our only issue was the horrible pillows! The best reason to return is Bobby Jack. The breakfast was fabulous but Bobby Jack was pure joy!!!!
If you stay here, you can park your car and leave it in the parking lot until you are ready to go home. My wife is handicapped and she got around the whole area with a push wheelchair and a cane. The whole area is flat and the Town has done a good job keeping up with handicap access.
My experience was good. Staff was very helpful and considerate of our needs. The only problem was the TV only could get reception on one channel. I did not report this since I was out of the room most of the time.
Fantastic location, very clean and comfortable rooms and extremely courteous staff from Joe the outside grounds person to the ladies in the breakfast kitchen. Everyone on the staff was respectful and helpful in every way imaginable.
I chose this hotel after reading the good reviews it received, I experienced it myself. The staff is friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The room was quiet, and I slept well. The one thing that was a bit not to my liking was the breakfast. It was unusual compared to what is provided in other hotels of this category. For starters, there was no bread and no toaster for it. The hot dishes were a quiche, that was good and bacon. There was no juice either (just coffee and tea). Otherwise, a perfect stay at Beaufort.
A great hotel close to downtown Beaufort and the waterfront, the hotel is great value for money with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and they also offer a great selection of breakfast items.
The property is very nice, mofern frunishings and bath. The breakfast is very nice. Very friendly staff. Very clean room, lobby, and breakfast area. Very conveient to most everything downtown. The staff are very accomodating.
This is a quaint and lovely hotel in a great location. It is across the street from a marina which made for a lovely evening walk. It is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms have been updated and the property is very clean, inside and out. The people who work here take pride in the service they offer guests and make you feel at home. The breakfast has special touches with homemade breakfast breads (thank you Bobbie) and a warm greeting with information provided about the area. I hope to return.
This was not our first trip to Beaufort but it was our first time staying at the Best Western Sea Island Inn. The location is perfect and the staff superb. We will definitely stay here and only here on our future visits.
Our room was clean and fully stocked. The staff was warm and welcoming, answering all our questions during our trip to pick our Marine on Parris Island. They knew all of the tips and tricks. Breakfast was offered, free park pass to Hunting Island State Park, free bicycle rentals, and a Klondike bar each evening to all of the guests. How nice! Plenty of beautiful places to sit and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee of stroll along the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. Beaufort historic district is beautiful, take a walking tour or explore for yourself. There are even carriage rides. Enjoy!
We loved this hotel, it's staff and the location. So much to see and do within walking distance. We were there for our Marine's Graduation and they were so accommodating with information and any help that we needed.
Older property in a great location. Right in the historic area. Exceptional staff and an outstanding, free, breakfast. Would definitely recommend. Had a problem with the tv not working. Cindy switched our room and then came up with a bottle of wine and offered to move our luggage! You don't find service like that any more.
BEST HOTEL I have stayed at in a long time!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast ladies (Shelly) were great! The breakfast itself was delicious and the peach bread was to die for. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the beds were new and comfortable. The room was very clean and so was the pool area (actually everywhere was super clean). The location was perfect and we enjoyed the Watermelon sip & stroll downtown and the restaurants were really great! WE WILL BE BACK!
This was our first trip to Beaufort, even though we live in SC. We opted for the 2 night trip to go with the value option, since the reviews had been very good, then perhaps look for other places. We were pleasantly surprised over how easy it was to stay here, and just park and walk out to shopping and dinner. I was also so happy about how quiet it was.
We stayed here for one night and the only thing disappointing was that Beaufort basicall shuts down on Sundays! So we couldn't take advantage of being in downtown Beaufort for the shopping. But we did enjoy being in walking distance of the golf cart tour and of nice lunch spots by the river. The motel was small with 2 stories but nicely designed to fit into the old town look with brick walls. There were some nice big trees for shady parking too. And best of all they had a dehumidifier stand-up unit right in our room since it was HOT and HUMID in August. So the room was comfortable though it had the usual tiny Best Western bathroom. And breakfast was good with different small quiches instead of eggs and the other usual fare. Staff at the front desk were very nice too.
What an awesome experience ! From the front desk to maintenance to the breakfast we had a fantastic visit. The entire staff went out of their way to make our visit special! Could not have asked for better services and care. Thanks to all especially Bobbie Jack!
The worst night of sleep I've had in my life! The bed was sooooo uncomfortable that I could not sleep and if I did get to sleep I was awake every 30 min tossing and turning because I could not get comfortable. I thought it was just me because I have a bad back, but my mother stayed in another room and she and my sister had the same experience. We really needed a restful night before traveling back home, it was miserable. The room was nice, the location was nice, but I could never stay here again and risk another night of torture!!
A bit pricier than we normally spend but worth it, Clean, good amenities and excellent location. T.he breakfast was fantastic, the pool refreshing and the staff warm, friendly and helpful. Could not beat the location
We utilized this hotel traveling by boat. The service was outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast provided was a surprise, and the kitchen staff was on top of their game.
No elevator to second floor. It was nice having a street view from the balcony. The view of the river was obstructed by trees but you can feel the cool breeze. Adding glass doors to the room entrance enabled me to let in more light and view when I was in the room.
We love to stay at best western in Beaufort. They are so friendly and the hotel is nice. Right in downtown, close to everything. They have a good breakfast that is included. Front desk is great and will help with any of your needs. Would definitely recommend.
Typically not a “motel” type, but this place did all it could to add ⭐️s. Location is ideal for walking around downtown Beaufort. The staff is TOP NOTCH!! Super friendly from the desk front to the lady preparing breakfast. Complimentary breakfast is far better than most. Today was quiche but tomorrow she's making fresh cinnamon rolls. They go above and beyond to make your stay the best!! We will be back. Hotel room itself was basic but clean. Rooms seemed recently updated. Water pressure would be my only complaint.
Very clean and quiet. Great breakfast options provided. Close to the waterfront and shops, so we were able to walk once we parked at the hotel. Parking space provided free7 and my sister and I felt safe in the area.
Great location, wonderful staff, clean rooms, free breakfast, & free parking. Everything was great, we will definitely stay here again when visiting Beaufort. The staff was great - they gave us a day pass to Hunting Beach so we didn't have to pay admission (just ask the front desk). Was super close to the downtown area and extremely walkable.
Central location to travel to islands in surrounding area and good base to travel to Charleston and Savannah for day trips. Breakfast was served by Bobbie, fresh bake goods, quiche, sausage, bacon and variety of fruit. Rooms clean and beds comfortable.
My family and I stayed one night at the Best Western as a pit stop on our drive from NY to FL. My wife had hoped to enjoy some of what Beaufort had to offer, though we were exhausted by the time we arrived after traveling with an infant and small dog. Of note, we had had to change our reservation by a day because our son had gotten sick and the staff was very accommodating. Upon arrival, check-in was easy. We were in a pet friendly room with 2 queen beds that was very clean. My wife needed to request a new refrigerator as the one in the room was too warm to keep our son's food at a proper temperature and the staff remedied this quickly. My only gripe is that we were on the second floor and had to lug a bunch of stuff up the stairs (our fault for not requesting a room on the first floor). We didn't get to enjoy breakfast as we had to depart, but the hotel is in a great spot to walk to the water and down the Main Street to shops and restaurants.
We did call ahead the day before we left home to verify our reservation, since we'd read a few reviews saying others had ran into problems getting there and not showing up in the computer. We were sent an email with more information in it that we'd gotten from the online reservation, so I don't know if it made a difference, but, since we were there for a funeral and needed to stay where we stayed, it would have been a horrible shock if we'd gotten there and not had reservations. Doing it that way worked out perfectly, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a handicap accessible room, and, (using a cane,) I appreciated that it had a table/chair someone in a wheelchair could have used to have sat above the tub, and used the handheld shower, or someone else traveling with them could stand in the tub shower combo, or soak in the tub.
We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western in Beaufort. From breakfast in the morning the security guard in the parking lot,at night, we felt taken care of. Highly recommend this location if you are in the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and look super nice, too!
Friendly staff, nice rooms, loved parking right outside my room. The AC in my room was okay but probably would not have kept up great mid-summer. Easy walk to city center. Don't miss Breakwater for dinner. Delicious meal.
This is an older facility, but it is updated and well maintained. All the staff are great and extremely helpful. The location across the street from the harbor has excellent views, and is convenient to downtown. We absolutely loved our stay here. We will be back.
The hotel was excellent. Stay comfortable. Within walking distance of all that Beaufort has to offer. I can highly recommend this facility. . The hotel room was very comfortable and - if you are from SC this is very important - COOL,
We loved our stay at this motel. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great and again, friendly staff. It's within walking distance of tours, restaurants, and shopping. Rooms were clean and appeared recently remodeled. Can't wait to stay here again!
We recently spent two nights in Beaufort, South Carolina at the Best Western Sea Island Inn. As we drove on to the property my husband and I were transported back to our childhood and our annual summer vacations. The tidy red brick building looked like something out of a story book. But the Sea Island Inn is real and it's just perfect, Rooms are clean and well appointed. Location is well suited for strolling the darling downtown trying to find the perfect restaurant or gift shop. Yes, the rooms are small but that just forced the owners to pay attention to details. We highly recommend the Best Western Sea Island Inn in Beaufort.
Loved staying here, it was perfectly located at the downtown pier. It was a lovely room and very clean. Breakfast was delicious and the baked goods were amazing. Would definitely stay here again and I would recommend everyone to stay at this Best Western. Also, Beaufort is a beautiful town and there are many great places to eat, and we loved walking the lovely downtown area. Hunting Island State Park was also great, we loved the beaches with all the shells. We are so glad we came to Beaufort!
This is a quaint hotel with lovely staff in the perfect location. You can venture out to shop, explore, eat, etc and easily return for a break or to drop stuff off. It was a simply lovely experience. We look forward to returning.
Great hotel with the most friendly staff you will encounter Great breakfast Room are very clean updated and comfortable . Several types of pillows. Great location and is with walking distance of most shops and restaurants
My wife and I had the opportunity to take a long weekend in Beaufort and chose the Best Western Downtown. They completely blew us away with their friendliness, do anything attitude and breakfast that was included in the stay. The rooms were modern and spotless and grounds impeccable.
Great location within easy walking distance of many shops and find restaurants. Easy check-in, helpful staff knowledgeable about the local area (Lisa). Cookies and coffee/tea always available in the lobby, and they even have Klondike bars! Their breakfast service tops many 5 star hotels and the fresh made pastries (Bobbi) are so good you will still be talking about them long after you return from your Beaufort visit.
Front desk staff very helpful, welcoming and thoughtful. Simple but very nice breakfast, both food quality (real eggs!) and accommodating, truly friendly staff. Room was fairly basic, quiet, clean, no view which seems to be the case with many rooms here. Historic building across from fantastic waterfront park and downtown. I would stay here again.
This Inn could not be more handy to the downtown area. Recently remodeled, it was comfortable and quiet. The office staff were friendly and helpful, and the amenities were convenient. The continental breakfast was outstanding! The staff made homemade scones, and fruit bars, as well as the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. Soft and fluffy! The food choices changed daily, which was nice to see. Outside had a nice patio with tables and chairs that overlooked the marina, though it was across the street.
Pleasant, Clean, Friendly. Close to downtown but not loud. They offer bikes, a short walk to a wonderful park / waterway. A short walk to a few horse carriage rides. Many great places to visit within a 10 to 30 minute drive and many places to get to with a short walk.
Hotel is in a great location easy walk around town . Friendly and helpful staff with a excellent selection of items for breakfast. We have stayed here before and will stay here again when in town visiting relatives.
Very quaint, Newley updated rooms and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The staff was very kind, courteous and overly helpful. My wife and I were celebrating our 38 wedding anniversary, and we were greeted by the staff with a quaint gift and anniversary card. This was a very special touch to begin our celebration.
Hotel is in a great location, clean, and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But the best part is the fantastic breakfast - these ladies know how to cook. And they keep checking to see if you need anything else. It is free, but they could charge for the great eggs, quesadillas, homemade biscuits and pastries. Lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and very good coffee.
We stay tonight's at the Sea Island Inn for a visit to Beaufort. We were impressed with the attractive look and cleanliness of the hotel, and more importantly the caring staff that made our stay so pleasant. The room we stayed in faced the back street, was very clean, nicely sized, and had a very comfortable bed. We did not use the pool, though we passed it each day, and it looked nice. My wife was happy with the fitness center, which is currently limited to one person at a time, which was fine. The Inn is central to everything in Beaufort, and you simply work across the street to visit lots of stores, restaurants, and the peaceful waterfront. The breakfast was very good, and overall this hotel does everything right, while also being a good value.
Everything was great at this location. The room was clean and appeared to be newly renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is walking distance to many stores, restaurants and the bay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! I couldn't have asked for a better stay. Wonderful in every aspect.
The Best Western Sea Island Inn is an ideally located motel-style lodging in downtown Beaufort, SC. Everything in the downtown area, including restaurants, shops, historic homes, tours, and the waterfront park are just outside your door. Parking seems ample. The rooms seem to have been recently remodeled and are super clean and comfortable. My room was large enough for a king bed, two arm chairs, and an ottoman in addition to the desk/dresser unit. It had good bedside lighting and plenty of accessible outlets for charging devices. It was outfitted with a refrigerator, microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker with good dark roast coffee pods. The bathroom was very small, but had new fixtures and high quality toiletries. The inn has a fitness room and a swimming pool, neither of which I used. The Sea Island Inn offers complimentary breakfast, and you won't want to miss it! In addition to standard continental breakfast items, the (culinary school trained) chef made both sweet and savory pastries. Hot breakfast items included freshly scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and sometimes biscuits and homemade gravy. Not only did the breakfast staff quickly and efficiently tend the breakfast offerings, they also doubled as knowledgeable sources of local tourist information. Any hotel is only as good as its staff, and the Sea Island Inn has a stellar group of employees, in housekeeping, the breakfast area, maintenance, and the office. When I mentioned to Lisa Kassuba, the general manager, how pleased I was with the accommodations, she quickly credited the team for the cleanliness, friendliness, and smooth operation. I would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Beaufort.
Excellent place to stay. Great location in Historic District. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choices. Staff was pleasant and helpful. They also provide bikes and parking passes to the state park
My two day stay at The Best Western in Beaufort was excellent. The check in person was friendly and efficient. My room was spotless. The Internet was fast and easy to access. The breakfast buffet was great. The staff kept everything stocked and clean. Great experience.
Situated in old Town directly across from the water.just steps from shopping, galleries, and eateries. Beautiful trees draped with Spanish moss everywhere. Plenty of old southern charm. This area of s,c, is a must see for a getaway vacation.
This hotel is the perfect location, right on the water and next to town. The beds were super comfortable and the room very clean. A delicious fresh breakfast with lots of options was served each morning. Staff was super kind and helpful and the town is just lovely!
This hotel is located in a perfect spot in Beaufort. It's right across the street from the marina, and is within walking distance to local tours and many restaurants and shops. But the most impressive things about this hotel are how clean it is, and how friendly the staff is. This place is super clean. I have a "thing" about staying in less-than-clean places, but had absolutely NO issues here. They clearly explain their cleaning procedures, and it's obvious that they follow them. The entire staff, from the front desk to the cleaning people, are extremely friendly and courteous. We also felt that the room rates are very reasonable. The Sea Island Inn is a perfect place to stay in Beaufort - we'll be back for sure!!
Stayed here 4 nights and was very impressed with the cleanliness of our room, the friendly hotel staff, The very convenient downtown location, and last but not least their fabulous breakfast which as a career salesman is a very serious compliment.
This place is easy to find, has great parking and is an easy walk into the down town area. The property is very clean and everyone we interacted with (Lisa the GM, Shelly in the breakfast area and Savannah at reception) was extremely friendly and helpful. A gentleman at the desk (didn't get his name) gave us a pass to Hunting Island State Park. There are also 2 bikes available to borrow. The room was very clean, comfortable and we got a quiet night's sleep! They were re doing the breakfast area, but the room we used instead was large, socially distanced and nice. We had a pretty good breakfast: muffins, eggs, pancakes etc. The wifi was strong. There was a very pretty pool area, which we did not use as it was so cold and rainy! There were a few chairs outside our door, which my husband used every night to sit, read and listen to the rain. This was a very affordable and very good place to stay. Beaufort is beautiful and I would highly recommend this Best Western.
Our room was recently refurbished and was very clean and attractive. I was impressed that they provided two luggage racks, which is rare in my experience with hotels, in the USA and overseas. Our breakfast was delicious, especially the scrambled eggs and sausage links, as well as the coffee.
Y'all! This is the best place! Our room is immaculate! Convenient to historic Beaufort. Eat at Old Bulls Tavern (reservations a must) if you get a chance. What makes this place is the most excellent customer service offered by the front desk. She told us everything we need to know about the area. I need to go back downstairs and get her name but just so you know we appreciate you!!!! Stay here! I have travelled all over and I cannot rave enough about the service we have received! Restaurants, shops and art galleries all within walking distance. Sound across the street. Stop by and see the ladies at Atelier off Bay and Thibault Gallery—go buy a boat.
The staff is so accommodating and friendly. The beds are the most comfortable ever! Location is great. I won't stay anywhere else next time I go to Beaufort. Breakfast was great and the kids loved the pool/
We were in town for our nephew's UCMC graduation. So happy I booked at this hotel. The location was ideal with the proximity to the beautiful waterfront park with lots of swings, many restaurants, ice cream and shops within walking distance and just a 15-20 minute drive to Parris Island. The room was good size with 2 queen beds, super clean including the nicely remodeled bathroom and the area was very quiet. Parking is TIGHT especially with half of the lot blocked off because of current roof construction, but we did manage to get a spot each night. Hostess in the office was very pleasant. We only had time for 1 breakfast of the 3 morning because we had to be to Parris Island so early, but it had a large variety of items and a few things that were easy for us to grab and eat in the car. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
The location is the best and the property, breakfast and especially the staff are the absolute tops. We were in town for a rather sad reason and their compassion was above and beyond. The breakfast was delicious and very clean dining area. The rooms have a soft, lowcountry feel with local art and the location to downtown is perfect.
The Best Western Sea Island Inn is a great property to stay at while in Beaufort. The staff I encountered were all amazing from check in providing me with maps and suggestions to offering water, cookies and gum drops to the breakfast staff proving such an inviting space for breakfast. The motel offers free parking for guests. The downtown location is close to the downtown attractions and restaurants. My room was on the second floor and had a view of water even though the motel is on the other side of the street. I liked my room and it was well maintained. Bikes could be ridden for free with a signed waiver from the front desk so that was a nice perk.
We only stayed one night but will definitely return for a longer visit. Hotel location is perfect if you're interested in spending time in the historic area. Tours are available across the street. The room was immaculate and comfortable. Very attractive decor. The staff are great.
This hotel is ideally located on Bay street in historic Beaufort....the staff is excellent...the rooms well decorated and maintained....the breakfast superb...The provided bicycles for seeing historic Beaufort were a bonus. We arrived after three days in two historic hotels/B&Bs in historic old Charleston....this hotel put them to shame in service and attention to the guests
Came here on a mini vacation with my daughter and was extremely happy with our choice. What a great location and staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Overall a wonderful experience will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our vacation in Beaufort immensely. The location of the hotel was perfect, across from the bay along with walking distance to the town. Hotel was very clean and the staff was very personable. Breakfast was delicious! Definitely would use this hotel again!
When you first pull up to the hotel it seems old and outdated. The parking lot is very cramped and the hotel seems to be stuck in the 1970s. However, the rooms are modern, clean and decorated very nicely. All of the furniture is new, and the rooms are larger than one would guess by the exterior. The bedding, mattress and pillow were clean and extremely comfy. ALL of the staff was very pleasant, and went above and beyond. The complimentary breakfast was more than one would expect for the price of the room. Overall we had a great stay and were pleasantly surprised by this Hotel !
Excellent location. People could not be more helpful and nice. Lisa is the manager and is outstanding Beaufort is a beautiful southern town and we could walk to almost everything. Black stones is a must for breakfast
This is an exceptional hotel in every way. Staff are great, location perfect to experience downtown Beaufort, walking distance to tours, shopping and restaurants, updated rooms, delicious complementary breakfast with some items made from scratch. Love this hotel and highly recommend it.
Long established motel with excellent upkeep over time. Room was clean and well maintained. Coffee/water at check in and revamped Covid breakfast. Direct booking offered a rate higher than internet booking sites even though not having to pay booking agencies. Met the online price after I requested a better rate. Used to have 24 hr cancellation for boaters but no longer, now requiring 48 hrs. Excellent location. Reccmend. Hope this helps.
Always a pleasure to stay here. Clean, friendly and convenient. Walk to historic district, restaurants and waterfront. We have been staying here for about the last 6 years and always our first choice.
This hotel was clean, well decorated, had nice staff and the breakfast area was very clean and well organized , especially with the Covid19 restrictions. Our only complaint was our hair dryer was broken and they never replaced it. It would not be a deal breaker to go back but just wished we could have had ours replaced. We slept well and Loved the location. All in all a great stay.
from the minute we walked in the lobby the staff couldn't have been more helpful! Free breakfast was homemade and delicious! View was nice of the river. Free amenities were wonderful! Park pass to borrow for Hunting beach, ice cold water bottles, snacks and even an ice cream bar! We stayed an extra night because we loved the hotel and town so much!
We totally enjoyed our stay at the Sea Island Inn. The property was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and happy to please. In a world where customer service seems to be a thing of the past, it was so refreshing to meet this staff. The breakfast was very good. The rooms looked recently remodeled, modern, clean & inviting. The location couldn't have been better. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. I will definitely use this property again.
You can not go wrong with staying here when visiting Beaufort, SC. The location is perfect to downtown and the waterfront park. Besides the location, the staff is top notch. Very welcoming, professional and accommodating. You will not be disappointed. Book this hotel!!!
This was our first time visiting the Beaufort area and this hotel could not have been in a better location. the hotel is directly across the street from a marina and a beautiful park with swings that look out across the water. It is within walking distance to shopping, food and many amazing historic homes and churches. The hotel is in an older two story building with no elevator, but the rooms have been updated and were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and overall, we had a lovely stay.
Very friendly and helpful in every way. All of my needs were met, above expectations. Many free amenities(clod water any time!) in the lobby, and lots of grab-and-go breakfast options. I would stay again.
Can't say enough good about this place. Staff was so friendly. Front office offered coffee and snacks. Our room was spacious (second floor) and spotless. Quiet with a comfortable bed. The breakfast room was so pleasant with flowers on the table. Breakfast was better than most. Waffles, quiche, fresh fruit, breakfast sandwiches, cereal and other goodies. Water and park right across street. Walkable to shopping and restaurants, Will be back
Been years since I've stayed at a Best Western. Probably 20+ and the last time would have been in CA. I was all set to book at the local Hampton or HGI and saw all the great reviews and the location and decided for 1 night, we could "survive". This is an older motor coach kind of hotel with rooms opening to the outside. We were on the ground floor, not far from the motel office. I was able to parallel park right in front on our room. The room was very up to date with easy access to power, a large TV and no less space than a newer hotel. Bathroom was a little small but manageable. My only complaint in the bathroom was the commode which flushed with violence and fury and was impossible to keep from waking people up. As far as locale, the marina is across the street and a quick left out of the motel leads you to Bay Street. Pretty much all of Beaufort is walkable. Honestly, we were disappointed with Beaufort overall. It was a one night stopover so no big deal really but the Sea Island Inn was for me one of the best parts of the trip. Definitely recommend.
Really Nice stay. Wish I had more time to get out and enjoy area...but was working. NICE QUIET at night so I was able to rest before I return to work which has been a problem fir me at other properties.
Great location and in close proximity to shops and restaurants This hotel was extremely clean, maybe the cleanest place we have EVER stayed. In a day and age where places are doing just enough to get by, this Best Western is going above and beyond. To the team who works here, you hard work does not go unnoticed. I would definitely recommend the BW Sea Island if traveling to Beaufort. You won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed this hotel. It was very close to restaurants and activities. We walked to restaurants. The carriage ride is across the street. We were there for the Marine Graduation ceremony at Parris Island. It is very close to Parris Island which was important because we had to be there so very early in the morning. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
Wonderful location, pleasant clean room and very helpful staff. This is our go-to hotel in Beaufort, we are never disappointed. Everything is thoughtfully done making for a carefree trip. Happy to see housekeeping making in person visits.
I would recommend this facility to anyone. The location is very convenient to the town. I do not know what else to say. Why must there be 200 characters in order to submit this review? As I said before, I would recommend this facility to anyone. It is very convenient to the town.
Older hotel. Completely remodeled rooms. Nicely decorated. Very helpful & friendly staff. A/C noisy. Other than that everything was great! Definitely will stay here again. So convenient, on main street. Beautiful marina right across the street.
Perfect location for access to shops & restaurants in historic Beaufort. The hotel was very well maintained & clean. The staff were very attentive and made sure all our needs were met. When we return to Beaufort, this will be our spot!
Hotel was situated within walking distance of the quaint town. There were shops, restaurants, and tours! Panini's served us a good meal and Hemingways is a very old pub with cheap cocktails on the river. We took a carriage tour and then took the hotels bikes to explore further and spend more time taking some pics. We also rode part of the Spanish Moss Trail. The bikes were a nice amenity. The Hotel staff - every employee - were upbeat and happy spreading joy. The room was clean and comfortable.
Walking distance to anywhere downtown, All of the staff were helpful and friendly. Extended help offered to my wife for a quick job interview for a local medical facility. Everything was clean and the area around the place was well lit and made me fill secure in leaving my vehicle parked in the lot.
We have stayed at the Beaufort best western multiple times during boat trips from Charleston to Beaufort. The staff is amazing and always extremely accomodating. From bringing out ice cream to the kids, late check outs, grouping rooms together. They have even offered to dry our personal towels that we had for the boat. Can't say enough good things about them.
Room was clean and well appointed. First time staying here and I was not disappointed. I would definitely stay again. Nice pool area. Great continental breakfast with outdoor seating. Convenient to the marina (we came by boat). Enjoyed my stay!
We stayed in Beaufort for our 30th wedding anniversary. The Sea Island Inn was the perfect location. We loved waking up to the view of the boats every morning. We also enjoyed being able to walk to shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly, especially the breakfast staff who gave us tips for places to see. We are already recommending Best Western Sea Island Inn to our friends.
We didn't have reservations and just walked in looking for a room. They had a room and it was great location across from Marina and a easy walk to the town. Clean place; good breakfast. Nice , Informative front desk person.
A quick last minute get away planned on the spur of the moment to Beaufort SC, we wanted to explore our state and it's history one town at a time, never been there before and didn't know where to stay. It appeared that the Best Western was the only motel choice near the water, so we pulled the trigger, booked a room and hoped for the best. Upon arrival we had a smooth check in and were informed of amenities on the grounds and given information about the town...restaurants, shops, etc..... We went to our room and were pleasantly surprised, it was awesome and appeared to have been recently updated. This was our first time at a Best Western and it was a perfect stay.
Very clean, right in downtown Beaufort. We walking every where we wanted to go. Hot breakfast and the hotel was very quiet. The decor was very up to date with light greys and plenty of plug in for all the technology we carry now.
This hotel is within walking distance to everything downtown Beaufort has to offer. Friendly and courteous staff. We arrived in town a few hours early and we were able to get our parking pass early which was very convenient!
This hotel is absolutely perfect. Location is perfect and within walking distance to restaurants and riverfront. The hotel is very clean, staff is extremely helpful and friendly and the property is beautiful.
This hotel was wonderful. Not what I expected and not your typical Best Western. It was adorable. Room was decorated nicely with upscale design and finishes. Great location. Walking distance to everything in downtown Beaufort. The front desk folks were the best. Friendly, happy and went out of their way to make our stay great. I would highly recommend this hotel (and that's a lot coming from me because my husband says I'm a bit of snoot when it comes to where were stay. I'm very particular!!)
You absolutely can't go wrong with this place! It's location is perfect; directly across the street for carriage tours, across from the waterfront and right on Bay Street~the adorable downtown of Beaufort. When you first pull in you know this is not your typical BW, or any hotel for that matter. It's a cute as cute can be, with the flowers and wrought iron handrails. Our room (2 Q) was quite large and as a BW Rewards member, was greeted in our room by a lovely goodie bag with drinks and snacks. The breakfast, now over a year into covid, was the best hotel breakfast we've had since covid, and better than most hotels pre-covid. They had everything laid out nicely and in individual containers or plastic wrapped. Although the only hot offering was made to order waffles, you didn't miss not having more, because there was so many other things to choose from. Geez, I wonder what their breakfasts were before covid!? Anyway, the staff was friendly and helpful. They even gave us a free pass to see the Hunting Island lighthouse. Without hesitation or any doubt, I would stay here again. Can't think of one thing that was wrong with this place, and a whole lot of things that were right!
The Best Western Sea Island Inn was ideally situated in Beaufort. It is just across from the carriage tours, close to the waterfront park and area restaurants. Our 2-queen room #221 was at the top of the second floor stairs overlooking the parking lot…no view but it was very quiet (no elevator, but we had asked for an upper floor and Buddy was great in fulfilling our wish). The bed was very comfortable. The room has a mirror and counter outside of the bathroom, always convenient for a second person. The breakfast was the best we had in any of the similar chain hotels providing free breakfast on our trip. Fruit and other items were individually packaged, to comply with COVID measures. Anne provided great breakfast service, and personally made us the waffles that I like so much. Don't miss the beautiful homes along the lake, to the right of the hotel as you exit. Reserve this hotel well ahead, as it was fully booked the night we stayed there.
The location is perfect to walk downtown and enjoy the waterfront, shops, and local dining. Our room was clean and the staff was amazing. I left an item in the room when we checked out and Lois arranged for me to get it back - she could not have been more helpful and was so nice. Thank you Lois and the Best Western!
My favorite place to stay ANYWHERE!! Outstanding hot breakfast, lovely rooms, perfect location and helpful staff. Don't even think of booking anywhere else!!! The view is spectacular as you can eat your breakfast outside and gaze at the sailboats across the street. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else while visiting Beaufort. This is my 5th time here!!
What an awesome place! Everything was so clean and tidy. It's also got such a nostalgic charm. Though Covid has limited breakfast, there was still a good selection of items, and the ladies working at breakfast were very helpful and kind. Easy access from here to Bay Street and the Waterfront park. Overall excellent stay!!
I would highly recommend this place for anyone traveling with a family. Exceptional staff full of hospitality. Great location, giving you the option to walk to a variety of different restaurants, shops and park.
The Best Western Sea Island Inn is the best place to stay in Beaufort, SC. The rooms are excellent...the service is excellent...the experience is excellent. The location is great to all the shops and restaurants in downtown Beaufort. It just a short walk to Beaufort's Water Front where you can sit and relax. I always enjoy my stay at the Best Western Sea Island.
This was our first time staying here in our 20 years of visiting Beaufort and it was great! We usually take shorter trips more often so we hadn't stayed here yet since it was a little pricier but we are glad we finally did. The staff was very friendly! All of the rooms have nice views and everything was very clean. We will definitely stay here again!
We walked into the room and said "Woah!" What an absolute gem! We were expecting your typical Best Western basic but this is several steps above and much more reflective of a boutique motel. Not only is the room spacious and full of light (room 200) but there is a fridge and microwave to keep and reheat any leftovers from the many restaurants in town. You will find all of the outlet and ports you could possibly need. We have a desk, a long side table and a very comfortable casual chair (see pictures). The beds are comfortable and the bedding crisp. Bathroom is gorgeous with all Kohler products and the shower feels so good. We love that they took out the carpeting too. My allergies are happy. Even though we were on the Bay Street side, I didn't notice any road noise. It gets very quiet at night. Walking to the shops, restaurants, quaint neighborhoods and parks is a breeze. Three areas of note: No elevator so you must carry your bags up but I did see one elderly lady getting help from a staff member so if you need help, you can ask. Our sink faucet was a little loose and one outlet isn't fully in the wall. It's tight and as far as it will go in but if I had a small child, I would find a way to block it. Don't let the outside look or the Best Western brand fool you. This place is an absolute delight from the check in staff who are clearly proud of their town and will give you maps and tips to the pool and location. I highly recommend a stay.
The hotel location was only about 15 min from Parris Island where our children are located. We loved all of the shoppes and cafes along Bay Street. The hotel staff was very helpful in helping us plan out our daily activities while the Marines worked.
I recently took a trip back to Beaufort SC and stayed at this motel. I was very impressed with everybody from front desk people to house keeping. Everyone was so very kind and helpful. The room was spotless, I felt like they had went above a d beyond cleaning it. Needless to say I give this motel and staff 10+ stars! I highly recommend staying at this beautiful motel.
Perfect location for visiting downtown and the local area. Shops and many historic homes are within walking distance. The facility/room was clean and the staff very helpful in providing suggestions we asked about.
Best Western Sea Island Inn was perfect for our two night stay. It's located in the heart of the historic downtown area and was ideal for walking to shops and restaurants. Our room appeared recently updated and the bed was very comfortable. We were able to park at our door which made loading and unloading our bags a breeze. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Perhaps their greatest strength was their breakfast room and service. The employees who worked the room were the best! The food selection was also excellent. As I told one of the staff, their “Covid-limited” breakfast was better than many hotels' pre-Covid offerings.
We have stayed here many times and loved it. This time we booked our room on the first floor and did this with an hotel employee. When we arrived, our room was on the second floor. The desk clerk remembered us booking the room. She informed us the Asst. manager changed it but there was no note as to why. She said she would speak to him the next day. Unfortunately, she was sick. But i did speak to the Asst manager. He put the blame on her. It was her fault. After our discussion he said we would be compensated. The next morning I get an email receipt, No discount of any kind. I go to the office and begin talking with the young lady. During this time, the general manager came in. She was amazing and fixed the problem. After talking with her, I left there very happy. We will again return. Also, Let me stress this is the only problem we have ever had during any of our visits. The staff is the friendliest (with the exception of one) we have come across in our travels.
This Best Western is in a charming 70+-year-old building but has recently been renovated. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and the ambiance of the property fit beautifully in Beaufort. The location could not be better and the staff seemed happy to meet you. While other hotels were offering only grab-and-go breakfast, one of the staff members was actually making waffles to go along with the best grab-and-go you can imagine during COVID times. That in my opinion shows the service you can expect from this hotel. The hotel had an extensive list of cleaning enhancements they were taking due to COVID and there was evidence they were being done. The room was spotless. I can't wait to go back.
I had a gift card and this place looked nice online, so I was a little nervous, but decided to give it a try. So glad we did! All brick, very nice rooms and by the water, walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc. Staff was great! Colleen checked us in and was informative and welcoming. Breakfast attendant was super nice! Loved the complimentary cookies, gum drops, water & coffee in the lobby as well as bottled water in the rooms. Would definitely stay here again!
Perfect location to downtown Beaufort, room was spacious, clean, everything worked. We usually, and did in this case, pay a little extra for a room in the best location on the property. This Best Western offered an upgrade to the standard room as with a view of Bay Street and the Bay. This was true but Bay Street and the bay were completely obscured behind a large tree. I'm fine the tree, it adds to the historic feel of the area and hotel but we couldn't see any more of Bay Street and the Beaufort River than if we had stayed at the back of the property.
We had the most wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was phenomenal, I have never had such an amazing check in experience. They gave us information on the area and even mapped out where the playground was for our toddler and directions to open restaurants as we arrived on a Monday. Everyone greeted us and made sure our stay was going well. The breakfast was great considering covid restrictions. The hotel is right in the middle of things and with in walking distance of a lot of activities and historical sites. Only a 30 minute drive from Hunting Island State Park and a great deal of other towns and sites to see. Rooms are hotel rooms, nicely redone with everything you could need, They look nice and have enough space for two adults and a rambunctious toddler. I don't often leave reviews but this hotel experience was *chef's kiss* perfection!
Best Western in the USA often is a bare bones affair. The Sea Breeze is in a league of her own, more reminiscent of a boutique hotel like the Best Westerns in Europe. It is obvious that the owners of this hotel cares about the property. From the grounds to the quality details in the rooms. Yes, it has a “motel” layout but the rooms themselves are an oasis. They are tastefully decorated and the details are well dine. The rooms are modern and the colors and photos on the walls are reminiscent to where you're at. Loved the photo of old Sheldon Church. The bathroom has clearly has work done. The sinks redone and an amazing shower with a hand held part. You only find those in great quality hotels and they're rather rare in the USA. I do wish that they would have gone the extra step and taken out the tub but it is still nice. The toiletries are nice but in 2020 it would be nice to include a body wash. It would also be cool if they partnered with the soap business in town and offered a sample of the Beaufort soap. The heating and air worked in the room also had a dehumidifier which was a brilliant touch because a lot of these motels have a dingy stinky smell to them. That is not the case here because of this brilliant touch. Sadly during Covid housekeeping understandingly isn't included. Breakfast offered many packaged items stuffed with preservatives. I look forward to seeing their offerings post covid. Next time I would like to try a room that has a view of Bay Street. I had a view of the Rhett house but you really couldn't see much from the tiny windows. I am planning on coming back next month.
Southern hospitality and a relaxing respite. The only motel on Bay Street with beautiful views of the marina and the Bay and a very short walk to great shopping and dining. I have memories of staying there as a child and returning to such a lovely spot, a beautiful remodel and very kind staff made it the perfect trip. We will return!
The room was spotless and the decor was excellent. Very convenient to the Marina and walking distance to the quaint little shops downtown. We loved the location! We took our boat and was right there at a boat landing. Excellent experience!
The location was perfect. We came to see our new grandson, and of course his mom and dad but new we wanted to be in a location close to things to do so we didn't invade them 24 hours a day. Downtown Beaufort is a great small town/ fantastic food/ rode the bikes through the town as well.
I had stayed ere in the past on business trips. This was my first leisure trip there. Location could not have been better for historic Beaufort with historic homes, tourism shopping area, great dining, a marina and carriage rides nearby. The staff could not have been more helpful and they took extraordinary precautions to keep the continental breakfast area germ free. This formerly old fashioned "motel" has been updated several times, and the architecture fits well in the historic area. I won't stay anywhere else in Beaufort in the future.
We ended up here after a terrible stay at the HGI in town. The rooms were clean, staff was pleasant. We enjoyed sitting outside at the tables at night and relaxing. Thanks for changing my opinion of hospitality/hotels in Beaufort!
They practised social distancing and yet tended to our every need. They supplied clean linens and supplies upon request and always maintain the utmost profesionalism. Although breakfast was grab and go, they had a large assortment and even had entrees that were frozen but had microwave in room to heat.
This is such a lovely southern town. This is our second visit to Beaufort and our second time to stay at the Best Western Sea Island hotel. We really like the location of this hotel and we can walk everywhere we want to go and we are very comfortable here.
My wife and I stayed there a few days and loved it. Historic town and park easily in walking distance. Rooms were remodeled, comfortable and very neat. We had a minor plumbing issue but was repaired immediately. Staff was terrific. We would definitely recommend this hotel and give it a five star review and would stay there again. Thank you Best Western and staff for a great stay.
Visiting from Germany we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Best Western Sea Island Inn. The hotel is located on the main street in Beaufort (Bay Street) and therefore one is next to all the shops and cafes (no car drives needed). All the staff was unbelievably friendly, helpful and generous during our time there. The hotel offers tiny 'perks' found in the bed and breakfasts nearby. They even surprised our family with popsicles during our time in their pool, which our children loved! Speaking of the pool - the hotel is the only one we found that had one - especially in downtown Beaufort! In the heat of Beaufort a pool is for sure most welcome to cool off. We look forward to staying there again during our next visit to Beaufort!
We are traveling from the Northeast to Florida and found this Best Western gem. Everything is perfect. Our king bed room was so comfortable. The lighting, decor and furnishings are 1st class. The outdoor pool areavis lovely. We appreciated the covid19 safety protocols. We walked to the restaurants and waterfront.
We were in town for the Beaufort River Swim. We had to leave the hotel at 5:30 am for the race. The hotel had already made arrangements to have breakfast ready early to accommodate the swimmers in town for the race. That is exceptional customer service! The breakfast choices were plentiful (especially considering Covid restrictions) and individually wrapped. The rooms were updated, clean, and fresh. Without carpet, which is awesome. The location was perfect. Across the street from the waterfront and walking distance to all the stores & restaurants of downtown Beaufort.
Room was new, clean, and comfortable. Check in staff was welcoming and helpful. The Grab and Go breakfast had a wide variety of selections. Location was great. Short walk to various restaurants. Variety of restaurants nearby with great food.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I don't normally stay at Best Westerns. This was in a great location and the property is very well maintained. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was right downtown within walking distance of restaurants and shops. It was a little pricey in my opinion.
We have always hed a great stay at this property when visiting Beaufort. Renovated rooms within walking distance to shops and marina. The staff is always friendly. Tony a longtime employee always makes us feel welcome.
The location was perfect. The view from the front outside tables was perfect. The parking , on site, was perfect. I traveled alone and always felt safe . The AC worked perfectly and the bed was very comfortable. Every morning , I enjoyed the continental breakfast outside. ALL employees went above and beyond to make my stay PERFECT. I can not wait to return.
From check in to check out the staff did everything to make our stay memorable. From the refreshing lime water and snacks upon check in to the individually packaged breakfast items, they did everything they could to keep their guests safe during this terrible COVID period. The rooms were spotless and very nicely updated. The pool was nice and very refreshing in the July heat. The location was amazing - close to all the shopping, restaurants and walking alongside the water. We really enjoyed our stay and thank the staff for being so hospitable!
This hotel is located right on the water and is perfect for seeing the sights of downtown Beaufort. The rooms are updated and VERY CLEAN! The staff is helpful and accommodating and are eager to help you enjoy your visit. They have complimentary bikes that we used several times. LOVED IT!
I was fortunate enough to be able to stay a couple nights at this lovely hotel. The hotel is located on Bay Street just a short walk to delightful restaurants and fantastic shopping. My room and all the common areas were kept extremely clean and tidy. The entire staff seem to go out of their way to ensure all the guest we're happy and had what they needed during their stay. You can really tell the staff enjoy their job. It was hospitality at its finest.
I have stayed at the BW Sea Island Inn a few times now. Everything is awesome....the price, the location, the accommodations and the staff. This property has been renovated since I visited 3 years ago and I was thrilled with the decor and cleanliness. Every little detail has been added (including the free bicycles we took for a spin to enjoy the area for 2 hours).
Stopped in for a night stay and dinner. Front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and updated. Restaurants and shops with walking distance. They even offered complimentary bicycles to ride around town. Will definitely return.
We had four couples that decided to make a boat trip from Charleston. The hotel is right across the street from the marina. The rooms were updated and exceptionally clean. Due to COVID-19, only two people were allowed in the lobby, but check-in was extremely fast and efficient.
Easy check-in and he was very chatty. Our room was okay, a king bed and a chair. The bathroom and the shower were in separate rooms. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast room was in a separate building. The food was typical. It would be nice if the muffins were labeled. No elevator.
We had the best service and hospitality here! Colleen at the front desk is wonderful! Great breakfast and beautiful updated clean rooms. Very close to the water and all the shops within walking distance. No need to take your car anywhere and the coffee here is always fresh! Lovely hotel in a great area.
We did a girls trip to Beaufort and Charleston and stayed here during the Beaufort portion. We absolutely loved this hotel. Updated, pristine rooms, inviting common areas and spectacular location. The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating . I highly recommend the Best Western Sea Island Inn!
First time staying at this location. Very nice. Convenient. Rooms were very clean. Michelle at the front desk was very nice and friendly on the phone and when I arrived to check in. Will return to this location when I am in this area.
We arrived in Beaufort on 1/29/20, to check into our hotel room that I had reserved, at another hotel, back in November. The night clerk was unable to access the room, and since the hotel was sold out, he told us we would have to find another hotel. Thankfully, the Best Western in the Beaufort historic district accommodated us and bent over backwards, making it the best experience ever! Allison welcomed us in at midnight and treated us like family. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the morning breakfast was fantastic. I will definitely be recommending this hotel on the Parris Island Marine recruit Facebook page! Thank you for providing us a home base to celebrate our Marines' graduation!
We were looking for a "home base" for a multi-day visit to the region and decided that this hotel seemed to fit the bill. After a week's stay, we left fully satisfied. Located across from the bay, walking distance to many of beautiful Beaufort's key attractions, restaurants, services, etc., attended to by extremely friendly, attentive and capable staff, Sea Island Inn gave us what we had hoped for. Our room was large, comfortable and always maintained nicely by a cadre of room attendants and Tony, the jack-of-all-trades staffperson. Office staff were available to answer any questions and provide guidance when needed. Breakfasts were more than adequate with many healthy options. (Waffles were quite tasty.) And the breakfast room staff went the extra mile to provide "extras" that made the morning meals even more complete. In a town that reflects a high level of pride in its people and places, Sea Island Inn fits in quite well.
I booked 2 nights at BW Sea Island because we were attending the marine graduation on Parris Island. We were much more than pleased. The hotel has the ‘old building' look from the outside but beautiful, modern, comfortable rooms. We found fresh cinnamon rolls in the breakfast room, along with the usual selections. Very nice surprise. The location is excellent. We easily walked, a very short distance, to restaurants and shops. There's also an impeccably designed and maintained waterfront park within a block. The historic residential area, The Point, provides another peaceful spot for walking/relaxing. Lovely stay - no complaints.
Had a great stay at this hotel. Easy check in, easy parking, nice room. Bathroom a little small but clean and functional. Breakfast included as well! Easy walk to the main street and water. Love Beaufort!
Colleen was very helpful! We went to see our marine graduate and there was helpful tips, information on how to get there and where we can go eat afterwards and some sightseeing activities we can do as a family!
Great BW, location great for walking and getting to restaurants and shops; friendly and helpful staff; rooms have been refurbished. Only minor issue is TV small and don't think it's hi def; some stations fuzzy. Breakfast one of the best ever at a BW. Have stayed here several times and will def stay again. Can't beat the view and great team of employees.
Hotel staff was very accomodating and took extra measures to make our stay pleasant. We had a son graduation from BasicTraining at Paris Island and they made sure we received a copy of the local paper with the graduates names listed. They had an envelope with the activity schedule for graduation and maps and directions. They really went the extra mile!!
This is our second time staying in the Seaside Inn. It just gets better and better. Great location and superior staff make for a wonderful stay. Nice breakfast to get your day off to a good start too. Will be back.
Perfect location. Close to everything in the historical district. Breakfast was nice, something for everyone. Rooms are awesome. Cleaned everyday. Was able to print my boarding passes in the office. Will definitely stay again on my next visit.
After carefully checking out all the reviews for accommodations in Beaufort, Best Western stood out. Quaint little motel with hospitalitly above and beyond. Clean, EXCELLENT STAFF, right in town location. Breakfast was plentiful, rooms were cozy. They care about you and your comfort. As a family we went to grandsons graduation from boot camp at Parris Island. We are lucky to have picked the best spot to come to. No complaints, only high praises for the Best Western in Sea Island, SC. I have stayed at multiple chains for business travel, and resorts for leisure time, and, I rate this little treasure at the top of my list. I plan on a trip there again soon, it was that nice. Christina is the gem employee that helps make the magic happen.
We stayed here to attend boot camp graduation. Easy distance to the depot. Lovely little shops in town that you can walk to. Beautiful historic homes in this area. Room was very clean and nicely updated. The only drawback was room smelled musty. Staff were super friendly. Packet given to assist with Marine graduation tips and map. Would recommend.
The Sea Island Inn is located on Bay street right near all the restaurants and shops. It is also close to the shore and park. The Inn is nicely decorated, has great service and a good complimentary breakfast.
Wonderful just wonderful! Stayed only one night but it was long enough to impress me and make me want to revisit. Location is excellent and its quiet and super clean. It is really decorated nicely and very comfortable and I will return soon!
We were only in for one night for our son's graduation, but the experience with the staff and our room was amazing. We even talked about coming back for a weekend to have more time to explore and definitely staying at this hotel again!
I love staying in independent hotels and this felt like one. The building was super unique and beautiful. They kept the old, vintage charm while adding and updating to cozy, modern finishes. The water is close by and you can even see it from the front of the building. You are in downtown Beaufort, where there are a few restaurants and shops, and can easily walk around. You can also rent a bike for free. The staff here was one of the friendliest that I have ever encountered.
Had a great stay. Clean, spacious room on quiet side of building. Breakfast was great especially the lovely hostess. Walked into town to sight see and eat at local restaurants. Staff available for whatever we needed and seemed happy to help.
Lived in Beaufort 30 plus years. Needed a place to stay while installing flooring. Colleen's friendly voice was the best thing I'd heard all day, she had a room for me with no problem. Rooms are great, clean and newly updated. Beds comfortable. Love the tile in the bathroom area. If you want to experience downtown Beaufort this is the place to stay. Walkable to everything. Take your coffee and walk along the river. Everyone friendly, made my week a lot better. Will do a staycation soon.
This is in ideal location for anyone wanting to stroll along the shops, restaurants or desiring to take a carriage ride. The guest's comfort and needs are paramount with the staff. Whether your room is on the back side or over looking Bay street, the view is awesome.
Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Yummy breakfast. Great location. Good parking. Here with hubs for his conference and couldn't have asked for better. Basic amenities supplied. Cleaned daily. Water and cookies in the office.
This place is within walking distance of all places in the historic downtown. Across from the carriage/tours, the waterfront park and walk, shopping and restaurants. The staff at this place are absolutely wonderful. And the lobby is inviting and has snacks, hot choc., tea, coffee. The breakfast is very nice...many choices and in a wonderful room.
Great visit, clean, newly appointed rooms, close to Parris Island for MCRD Graduation. Christina was a fantastic host and extended Southern hospitality - definitely reccomend this hotel for any occasion.
I had the pleasure of spending three nights at the Best Western Sea Island In in Beaufort, SC! The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. I stayed in Room 200, facing the marina and enjoyed it tremendously. I was with a bus excursion from Maryland and only heard positive comments from my fellow travelers. Breakfast (included) was tasty, food was hot and several choices were available. Location was excellent, within several blocks of great restaurants, carriage rides, tour companies and excellent shopping! Southern Hospitality at its best. I will return!!
My husband and I picked this hotel because of its proximity to the Spanish Moss Bike Trail and the downtown area of Beaufort, SC. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel and the staff. Colleen was at the front desk when we checked in and she was extremely pleasant and helpful. Jackie and Jennifer in the breakfast room were both very nice and accommodating. The food was delicious...the BEST breakfast that we have ever had at a hotel. Our hotel room was very clean and attractively furnished. The beds were above average comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and recommend it to friends/family!
We stayed here one night between 5 nights in Savannah & 5 nights in Charleston. We like Beaufort & this hotel so much we returned for 2 more nights. The hotel staff are very friendly & helpful. Ex: when we went to the front desk for a wine opener Colleen happily handed us two wine glasses as well. The rooms look to be newly remodeled. We liked our upper room (240) off the back. While on the street it was quite and we could sit outside watching the horse carriage tours go by. It is an easy walk to stores & restraunts. They also have bikes/helmets you can use. We rode to the Spanish Miss bike/walking trail. The breakfast (included) is one of the best we have had at hotels. We highly recommend Beaufort & the Best Western.
The staff and management of this hotel is impeccable. On our stay, 2 people were injured, (not because of the facility), and the manager took charge with medical treatment. She also provided us with an impromptu pie and ice cream social on our last day. Our room was spotless, and each day, there was a card asking us what we would like done to our room in the way of cleaning. The free breakfast was outstanding, much better than our facility in Florence, SC. I had mail that needed to go out during my stay, and the office was so kind and helpful to get it out for me. I can't say enough about the Best Western Sea Island. My experience was awesome! The hotel is within walking distance of everything; great restaurants and unique shops.
We love to visit waterfront towns/cities and loved quaint Beaufort, SC. This hotel is nestled in town and walking distance to restaurants, carriage rides, ghost tours and an easy drive to Hunting Island/Lighthouse. Christina and Holly are pleasant, helpful and delightful. Tony also ensures guests were taken care of and personable. The breakfast does not disappoint: eggs, cheese, bacon or sausage, rosemary potatoes, yogurt, fruit, waffles, and pastries. Nice clean breakfast area. Rooms are spacious and recently remodeled. Welcome mats in front of all doors - what a great idea. We went to Hilton Head for a day and was going to stay one night but decided we wanted to return to Beaufort. We called Holly about 3 hours after checking out and she got us another king bed room and this was a nice birthday surprise. She really made it work for us to return and finish our trip here. Location, cleanliness, and customer service makes this a 5 star rating!!
This was the best place to stay possible! It was almost right on the waters edge, it was wonderfully clean, the breakfast was excellent and best of all were the staff! They were incredibley helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them
I've been staying this property often on since I was in high school back in the 1970s. It is always been a solid, friendly location. Lately, it just keeps getting better. The entire process, reservations, check in and out, and the overall experience was excellent .
Room, Service - Everything was fine. I know it was the Shrimp Festival - but I have had better rates at the Mansion on Forsyth in Savannah - to which this property cannot compare. But it all boiled down to being at the best location for my intended visit. The location was perfect!
Wow! This hotel is a 10 out of 10! We couldn't have been more impressed by this quaint hotel on Bay Street with beautiful views of the water and sunsets. The room was clean, fresh and felt newly renovated. The daily breakfast in the morning was a treat, and always set up nicely and kept neat. But what made this hotel the best was the genuine care and service or each and every team member we came in contact with, everyone was kind, helpful and professional! We are buying a new home in the town and they even surprised us with a bottle of champagne and welcome to the community. This hotel is a must stay if you are coming to Beaufort!
The best hotel on our whole trip! Never have seen a buffet breakfast like this/——such a variety and cooked to perfection. Pool area was great and rooms beautifully furnished. Worth every penny spent. Staff was very accommodating snd Jackie was a delightful breakfast hostess. Can't rave enough about this gem!
We have been visiting this Best Western for a few years. It is in the heart of the historic district. The rooms are clean and decorated nicely. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast is first rate. Coffee always available in the lobby. We enjoy it and highly recommend it to you.
As a Hilton Honors member we were extremely surprised and pleased that our stay at the Best Western Sea Island Inn was better than any of all the Hilton's we have visited. The location, the service, and especially the room were all excellent. We will return!
best place to stay in Beaufort! Well within walking distance to everything! Clean! Pleasant people! Great breakfast!Great internet!Across from the water front park and those great swings! Would definitely stay here!
Recently renovated, there was nothing whatsoever in the room with which to find fault. The opposite is the case; the room was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast, the staff, the amenities, all pitch perfect. Will be back.
My wife and I always enjoy staying at the Best Western Sea Island in. The rooms are not only cleaned every day, but the beds are made too. The breakfast is great along with a very helpful staff. Buddy who works the front desk is fantastic!
A group of us traveled by boats to experience Beaufort SC from Richmond Hill GA. The hotel was very close to the city marina and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel clean and comfortable and the breakfast was enjoyable.
We went here for our daughter's boot camp graduation from Parris Island. The staff from the front desk, maintenance, breakfast area, housekeeping were absolutely some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered. House keeping did an amazing job, every single day. This was the best vacation! The bed was super comfortable, the color scheme relaxing. We had an adjoining room with our son's family and their room was just as nice. The hotel was just fabulous!!!
This was a great location to Marina and restaurants. No elevator so you have to carry your bags upstairs which was difficult. Breakfast area was very nice. Room was nice. It's more like a motel outdoor room entrance. The pool area was very nice too. Would stay again
Location fantastic, right downtown. Visiting for a Birthday weekend, staff brought a goody bag filled with drinks, snacks, etc. and a personally written Birthday note to the room. Very helpful with restaurant selection, directions, room was clean, breakfast a plus. Highly recommend!
Clean hotel, rooms are small and a bit cramped for a family of 4, but we try to not stay in the room much. 1st floor picks up a lot of noise from the street and parking lot. Our shower did not drain well while we were there, but the room was clean. The breakfast is always good and be sure to get the rosemary potatoes when they have them.
Location unbelievable. Accomodations, personnel and amenities were a great experience at a good price. A very quiet and accessible location with room to walk about safely and meet the locals in their own environs. parking is a little tight.
Beautiful Accommodations, perfect location, Staff all friendly always concerned with personal needs, grounds maintenance well done, clean and beds more comfortable than luxury resorts, walking distance to shops, restaurants, historic sites and all with beautiful views of the bay. Hope to return soon.
I visited Beaufort with family, including 3 children and we couldn't have been happier with the hotel and the staff. The woman who checked us in - sorry I don't remember her name - and Tony were so friendly and helpful with information about what to do and see in the area, they really made the visit special. The hotel is recently renovated, sitting in the heart of the quaint Beaufort waterfront - right across the street from the marina. Easy walking to restaurants and shops. We had double adjoining rooms (2 Q beds in each) upstairs. Super clean, very comfortable beds and bedding and very quiet at night. The outdoor pool was a hit with the kids. “Continental” breakfast is available but it's a complete breakfast - scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, sweet breads, and a “make your own” waffle stand in addition to the regulars. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay again if we return.
Originally booked at another hotel and switched to here after reading reviews. Great location, right by water, walking distance to downtown. Had a great run across the “Forrest Gump” bridge which is just half mile away. Room was very clean and well decorated. Staff very friendly, we got to breakfast late and felt no pressure by staff to hurry. Would definitely stay here again.
We visit Beaufort twice a year and always stay at the Sea Island Inn. It's a fine hotel! As we do every summer, we came down to Beaufort by boat. A group of us tied up at the marina right across the street. So here's the absolute essence of what makes the Sea Island Inn special. When we arrived, after a hot trip down the Intercoastal Waterway, the folks at the hotel had nice cold bottles of water for us and—listen to this—offered us ice for our coolers. How customer-centric is that? Above and beyond. The inn has just done a major refurb, and our room was nicer than it was last time … and it was more than OK last time. Thick, fluffy towels; good hot water and water pressure; really high-speed internet. They also offer a good breakfast. On Sunday morning, there was a big pan of fresh-baked cinnamon buns. The devil called me, but I resisted. However, I gained two pounds just looking at them. Beaufort is a charming town, and a delight to visit, no matter what time of year. Absent the Sea Island Inn, however, I don't think we'd make the trip as regularly as we do. At the Sea Island Inn, you don't feel like you are staying at a hotel. It's more like you are visiting friends. And maybe this review will serve as my thank-you note to my friends.
Highly recommend this hotel right downtown Beaufort overlooking the water. View is great! Location is great! Staff was very accommodating! Management top notch! Nothing negative about this hotel! You WON''T BE DISAPPOINTED!
My only small complaint is that the A/C couldn't quite cool the room enough. It wasn't unbearable by no means. It was 100 one day and 99 degrees the rest of the days. Late July heat so with that in mind it wasn't bad. The hotel is in a great location to be able to walk to many nice restaurants and a great view of the water front.
Was really impressed with this hotel. The room was a decent size and very clean. They reception rang within 5 minutes of arrival to see if there was anything else we wanted. A nice surprise was the bottle of wine left for my birthday. Parking was easy. The breakfast was a buffet but covered a wide choice - hot and cold.
Could not have been happier. Traveled 600 miles with two grandchildren and when we arrived it was very pleasant to be welcomed with "Welcome; we have been waiting for you!" With a wonderful smile! Then to receive a call to ask if there was anything we needed. I asked for an extra set of towels and it was there in less than 5 minutes! That is service and service with a smile!
The staff at this hotel are over the top in terms of their customer service and guest experience! I have stayed at the Sea Island Best Western multiple times and one reason I keep returning is the staff and location. Colleen and Lisa are the best!
The Sea Island Inn was awesome. All of the staff were extremely helpful and always smiling. The water fesival activities were directly across the street, which made it easier for my sister in a wheel chair.
The moment we arrived at the hotel we knew it was going to be a great stay. Buddy at the front desk checked us in and offered info on things to do and some history of the city. Breakfast was better than expected with a very spacious and clean dining area. Great variety of breakfast eats. Location was perfect as you are in walking distance to historic downtown and the waterfront. Next time in Beaufort we will certainly stay here again.
Very clean, friendly staff, swimming pool, continental breakfast and information ready if you are there for your Marine graduating boot camp. Its a very exciting time and everyone cant wait to see their Marine after 3 months of intense training. The hotel makes it so nice with recommendations and information regarding the Marine Corps ceremony, times of events, etc. Located approx 15minutes from the base, very convenient. We were very pleased when we left and I would definitely not hesitate to stay here again.
Typically, I wouldn't stay at a motel for business or pleasure because I would do a hotel or house. However, this has been newly renovated, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it was a convenient walk to all the great places downtown has to offer. I would stay with my family and use their bikes next time. I would definitely stay here again.
Favorite place to stay. We have been staying here for years. Everything is always clean, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is the best in town. We can walk everywhere which makes it really convenient. I just cannot say enough about how much we enjoy Best Western Sea Island.
We have stayed here before and I had to change my arrival date. They took care of us with no questions ask. Sea Island Inn is in a fantastic location. Clean, quiet, nice breakfast and great staff. Love it!
By boat and docked at the Beaufort City Marinna. Third year in a row. Hotel is located across the street from marina which is super convenient. Staff is always friendly and eager to please. Cold water and towels upon arrival is always welcome respite from the heat. All rooms recently remodeled and are beautiful. Inn is quiet and convenient to downtown. Breakfast is always fresh and there is a huge variety offered. Best place to stay in Beaufort whether you are by boat or car!
This is a very lovely place to go in historic Beaufort S.C. the hotel has been renovated. The staff are the best they treat you very well, and I mean the entire staff, breakfest person, maids, and office staff. The hotel is just a walk across the street to the marina and the river walk, just beautiful. There is also horse driven wagons to tour historical Beaufort just across the street. A great place to stay.
The staff at the Sea Island Inn is 2nd to none. A very simple/clean hotel in a perfect location with a staff that goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
We loved our stay in Beaufort. SC. It was a beautiful city and less than an hour drive to Savannah and 1 1/2 hour drive to Charleston. The other islands around Beaufort had many things for us to do close to the hotel.
This place is second to none. Had a bottle of wine , a gift bag in our room , and the absolutely most warm welcome from the hotel staff imaginable. I come from a town known for its hospitality, but these folks are off the chart good. Super clean rooms ,always upgrades to property, and a staff thats is crazy good at their jobs. We couldnt reccomend anything that is good as the Best Western , Sea Island Inn. We will be back to do year 36 Randy and Charla Smith Folly Beach ,SC
This quaint, newly renovated motel is the best kept secret in the South! Snuggled in amongst gorgeous live oaks and the Beaufort harbor marina, you can't go wrong booking a stay here! The old fashion style pool with a deep end was so welcoming as we traveled by boat from Charleston and could not wait to wash off the salt water. The pink flamingo and pineapple floats provided were such a fun, great touch! Breakfast... Ohhhh the breakfast!!! It was over the top fresh and delicious! Fresh fruit, fresh scrambled eggs with option of cheese and salsa toppings, sausage links, make your own waffles... I can go on and on about that breakfast. The staff all seemed genuinely happy to be working at this cute motel. Every staff member I encountered was kind, friendly and happy. Where do you find that??? There were several Bed and Breakfast in the area but I am happy we chose the Sea Island Inn.
Our group came from Charleston via boat. The Best Western Beaufort is always a fantastic hotel to stay. The staff is always helpful and the rooms are always very clean and nicely kept. The breakfast is well prepared and we always look forward to eating at the hotel in the mornings before we start our boating.
We arrived in Beaufort at 9 PM with no reservations. All the hotels were full due to a double Marine Corps graduation. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It was great to get any room but this was the nicest stay we have ever had. Beautiful and spotlessly clean.
Located near the heart of downtown and waterfront. Hotel was clean, great amenities, and a nice complimentary breakfast. The hospitality of the staff is really what puts this hotel to the top ranking. Christina was simply the best. She was so helpful with restaurant recommendations and ideas for things to do. She even called our room and offered umbrellas to us because it had started raining. Overall experience was great and we will stay here again when we come back to visit Beaufort!
We love to visit waterfront towns so did research of area and decided to come here which was best decision! Called directly to hotel and easy to make reservations with "Lisa" who took time to answer my questions and mailed out real confirmation letter-nice touch! Was a very long drive from PA so we were a "late arrival" on a rainy Sunday night and "Colleen" got us checked in promptly, she was very welcoming and we bonded with her as we discussed places in town we were interested in visiting, she gave us info about town and surrounding area, reviewed map/ town booklet with us and she caught on right away we are interested in history, she seemed to love area and her job! Our room was on 2nd floor with no problem doing flight of stairs, our room and entire hotel area is super clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet all 5 nights we stayed here. Beautiful location, large oak trees so cool and shaded, is right across street from waterfront and Marina, and carriage rides, very scenic and felt very safe to walk around neighborhood looking at historic homes and waterfront then about a block to downtown to shops, restaurants, ice cream, and museums so stayed parked at hotel most of time & walked in town. Breakfast is delicious real cooked food along with with fresh fruit, yogurt and baked items, beverages with everything well stocked and "Jackie" there was friendly talking to us about our stay and making sure everything was good. We also saw "Colleen" almost every night as we visited office in evening for coffee and cookies and she would ask about our day and plans for next day, really appreciate her suggestions, hospitality, and her interest in making sure all was good with our stay. It was very difficult to leave, we had wonderful stay in this great hotel in this beautiful town and making plans to get back here soon as we can, thank you!!
Very nice motel ring in downtown water view of th Marina and Park. Always a pleasure to come stay at this motel. We arrived by water and just a short walk from the marine to the motel.. The breakfast bar was all cooked and and fresh to help start the day exploring Beaufort.
We spent two nights here in room 244 on 5/16 through 5/18/19. Overall, it was a great stay and hotel. It is an older BW that has been nicely renovated. It is located in the heart of Beaufort, so it was easy to walk to restaurants, the bay, the park and shopping areas. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. They provide maps of the town and have menus from the various restaurants. There is limited parking but enough for one car for each room. There are no elevators to the second floor so if that is an issue book a first floor room. There is a good sized pool and pool area. Our room was fairly large, there was a make up area outside of the bathroom (no sink) and a small bathroom. The A/C unit was the older style where the controls are on the unit not the wall. We found our unit struggled to keep the room at 70 degrees. Breakfast was in the front building across from check in. It was fine, typical of a BW. Our room was a corner room, in the back and close to an outdoor table and chairs on the public balcony/walkway. So room 244 can get some noise from other guest enjoying the early morning. The wifi was OK, it seemed slow the first day (email, web surfing) and fine the next day. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
A beautiful location, with clean, large rooms. Great breakfast with many options. Highly recommend and will plan to stay here on our next trip.Close enough to town to walk and shop conveniently. Sweet little park across the street.
I was traveling from Ohio to South Florida and decided to spend the evening in Beaufort. The Sea Island Inn has always been a perfect location to stay in town given it proximity to downtown. And it did not disappoint! The recent renovations have brought a new life to this hotel. The rooms are clean, look and feel fresh. The front desk could not be more accommodating or friendly. And the breakfast is very well laid out, kept very clean and tidy, and the food is very good. But it's the location that you have come for. The view from breakfast is just beautiful of the harbor and boats at anchor. The waterfront park is just across Bay Street and all of the historic district surrounds you. I grew up in Beaufort over 50 years ago. There is no place else to stay when you visit this beautiful town.
In hindsight we found this the perfect hotel: Not too much fuss, not too luxurious, but they certainly know their business! This place is simple and down to earth, but it has everything a traveller needs: The rooms seem to be newly renovated, ours was big, spotlessly clean and bright, the beds are comfy, the nights are quiet. The location is perfect: two minutes from downtown and the sea. Plenty of parking lots in the shade, lots of amenities (free coffee, tea and cookies, bycicles and trycicles for rent, a nice pool) - and very helpful and friendly staff! I do recommend this place 100%!
We love this place, have stayed here many times in the past, and it is the best place in town. Great location right on main street, really nice people, and now that it has been fully renovated, it's even better.
Although this property was built in the 60's, they have taken great care to update the rooms and the overall look of the property. The staff is amazing and the choices for breakfast were well rounded. We attended our son's graduation from boot camp and the front desk staff couldn't be more helpful with directions, helpful tips, etc. I'm so pleased we stayed!
My husband and I stayed here for my birthday. Last year, we stayed nearby at a B&B for our anniversary. We will come back to the Best Western Sea Island Inn because of value, location, breakfast, great amenities and staff, and privacy. Our room on Craven Street was perfect and we felt right at home, yet within walking distance of most everything. Coffeemaker, microwave & refrigerator are all in the room, and full breakfast just a short walk away. Perfect in every regard! Rooms recently renovated, grounds are neat and clean, and every staff person we encountered was cordial and helpful. We'll be back!
We loved this hotel! We were just in Beaufort for our spring break and it was EXACTLY what we needed. We even extended our trip two days. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home - especially as we were traveling during Easter. They let my girls take gum drops each day from the front desk, which made them feel special. The pool area is great - clean and relaxing. You cannot beat the location - the boats across the street with swings to sit and watch them go by was awesome. If you have kids and are going here, there is a playground in walking distance. There are also awesome restaurant (our fave was Plums). Def stay there if you are in Beaufort!!
We stayed one night on our way to a weeks vacation on Fripp Island. The staff were so friendly and it was a great location to walk everywhere. I will stay here again. Rooms were clean, breakfast was great. So glad I picked this hotel for our one night.
Excellent customer service and such a friendly staff throughout the whole hotel! Everything was so clean with beautiful rooms! The location of the Sea Island Best Western is absolutely beautiful! We have been to this hotel many times and have always had a wonderful time and we will always keep coming back!!
Location, location, location. Perfect for our 2 day visit to Beaufort. Rooms are just okay. Bedding was nothing special and room seemed to stay humid no matter how we adjusted the air conditioner. Very clean and staff was friendly and helpful.
The BW Sea Island is a nice property that has been recently renovated. Our room had a nice view of the marina. The bathroom was very small but the room was a good size. The decor is calming. The breakfast they offer has a great variety. We liked being able to walk to sites and restaurants. All of the staff were very friendly. The pool is nice but not heated. Speedy check in and check out. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
This hotel is located within walking distance to the waterfront and shoppes. Once you park your car you can just walk to restaurants. There are carriage ride tours just across the street too. The room we had was recently renovated with a nice but small bathroom and VERY comfortable beds. Location is quiet. We slept great. Breakfast ends at 9:30 so that was a little too early for us with teens and late nights. The tv was frustrating at times. It locked up and paused and didn't allow for AV or HDMI hookup. The coffee maker in our room was broken. So we got coffee in office. The housekeeper didn't leave us wash clothes or replace empty toilet paper. We had to go to office to get more. The office staff was very nice and Colleen was great at recommending places to eat and giving driving directions. The pool was small and felt too cold to use as it is not heated. There are only stairs to 2nd floor and some rooms on bottom floor also have a few steps. Not a problem for us but may be for others. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall a good stay and perfect location.
My hub and I spent a weekend getaway at this inn. It was our second stay here. Both were nice, but this time the rooms had been remodeled and were very nice. The bed was nice with a variety of pillow types (firm, fluffy, etc.). The shower clean and new....and the lighting was good, too. Sometimes the harsh bathroom lights are not good for putting on makeup. (I know, that's more of a concern for the ladies...haha.) The location is hard to beat. We spent lots of time walking around downtown and on the waterfront. On Saturday we rented on of their beach cruiser bikes and rode down to the Spanish Moss Trail. We peddled our way to The Sands in Port Royal. The trail is a perfect place to bike. We got in 16 miles and truly enjoyed it. The staff was super friendly too, especially the desk clerk (I wish I had her name), who provided lots of suggestions of things to do. (We took her up on the bikes... so glad we did!) We'll be back. A great weekend with little stress.
Convenient to all of Beaufort's attractions. Walking distance to downtown activities, dining, nightlife, and shopping. Personable and professional staff. Recently remodeled, with in room fridge, microwave, and free wi-fi. Decent breafast!
Stayed here for a short vacation end of March. Front desk managers were very friendly and helpful. Lots of nice little special touches at this place...chocolate chip cookies at check in, along with refreshing flavored water and hot coffee. Rooms were very clean and had just recently been completely remodeled. Beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows. Bathroom was very clean with nice amenities. Breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel. Rosemary potatoes, crispy bacon, fluffy waffles, fruit, eggs, hot coffee that was very good. Lots of selection for everyone's taste. And the breakfast room manager, Evelina (I think that was her name) was friendly and very helpful, and she kept that breakfast room perfect! But the absolutely best thing is the location! Facing the marina and bay, and just steps from all the downtown shops. You can take the historic carriage ride right across the from the front door of the hotel, and it was worth every penny...Beaufort history is really interesting. I would stay here again every time!
This was our first trip to Beaufort SC. The Best Western Sea Island Inn was pperfect in location and staffing. It was a clean, and convenient with newly remodeled rooms and a feel of a historic building in a very historic town.
Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff; great location for exploring downtown and for viewing the sunset; comfortable beds; excellent cleanliness and housekeeping; plentiful parking. I would definitely recommend. One caveat - no elevator, so if that is an issue, be sure to request a ground level room.
The Sea Island Inn was a terrific stay in Beaufort. It is clearly recently renovated, with top notch furnishings and island decor in the rooms. The lobby was very coastal. As nice as the rooms are, the big advantage to the hotel is its location. It is literally 3 blocks to Beaufort's charming downtown, with restaurants and a huge waterfront park. Our family loved walking out the door and finding space to throw the football. I could not write this review without mentioning the complimentary breakfast. This is no hotel breakfast, but a true dining experience fitting of a restaurant. As with the rest of the hotel, the dining area is renovated and looks like you would expect a waterfront restaurant to look. And the kitchen keep bringing out food like hash, bacon, seasoned potatoes..and not in some microwaved pan, but rather right off a hot skillet. Great hotel and great stay.
Every staff member that we encountered were cordial and helpful. Rooms were updated, well maintained and very clean. Rooms facing Craven St. face the old Rhett Hotel on the edge of the historic district and the carriage tour passes right by your door. If you have a small picture on the large tv, call the front desk and it will be corrected very quickly. Inn is walking distance to the marina and restaurants as well as shopping. We would stay there again and recommend to friends.
Located close to marina, waterfront park and downtown shops. Quiet if you have an interior or backside room. Laundry facilities available at marina across the street. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Breakfast offerings were many and varied. Rooms would benefit with carpet instead of the linoleum flooring.
Stayed one night for a quick business trip. I will be back for pleasure next time. The location is perfect for walking to nearby historic district, eatery's and shopping. The newly renovated rooms were fresh and clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with local highlights. The continental breakfast was plentiful with options for all.
The rooms are newly remodeled and lovely. They are so clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is so friendly, pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was fabulous and the location was so close to the waterfront shops, restaurants and bars.
excellent in every way. i arrived january 21, 2019 and departed march 13, 2019, 51 nights in beautiful beaufirt, s c u s a. staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. the room was large and clean and included a microwave, refrigerator, and hand-held shower wand.
I attended my nephew's graduation from the Marines and the staff was very accommodating, from providing details related to the graduation events and directions, to providing ideas for how to tour the area in free time. They even went above and beyond by making reservations at a local restaurant. This was my second stay and I would go back again
About the only bad thing I can about this place is that there is no elevator, the rooms are a little small, and the toilet in the room was very loud when flushed. Otherwise, the location is great - walking distance to downtown Beaufort and several restaurants and the waterside park where the festivals are held. It is surrounded by many historical buildings. The beds are VERY comfortable. The breakfast was good. The staff was very helpful. The carriage rides are right across the street. I definitely recommend this hotel, but next time I will request a ground floor room when I make the reservation.
We loved our stay at the Best Western Sea island Inn. Everything was just perfect. The people were so warm and welcoming. The location was great! The room was clean and newly renovated. And the breakfast was terrific. We would definitely stay here again!
The location is ideal. The harbor and restaurants easy walking distance. Able to park right outside our room which was on the ground floor. The hotel staff very well attuned to customer service. Would stay here again.
The hotel was nice, rooms were clean and updated. The staff was great. ON the water and walking distance to restaurants and shops was a plus. Very short and easy drive to Parris Island. Hotel Provided packets for the families of Graduates with helpful information.
Outstanding in every way. Exceptionally clean and lovely decor, Best complimentary breakfast I have ever had ,Would definately stay again if in the areal Lovely location ,Staff went out of their way to allow my son to come back and change after his Marine graduation ceremony,
Visiting for USMC graduation. Excellent, excellent people and property. Lovely location in a lovely town. From original phone reservation, to check-in person, to accommodating 0530 early breakfast and hostess, all could not have been nicer.
Great service; older property, but well maintained. Location is TOP NOTCH! Right on the waterfront. The ladies who handle the continental breakfast were superb - Jackie and Evelyna. I hope they are well compensated for the work they do!
Perfect, beautiful, comfy, quiet. Friendly staff. View is wonderful. Rooms well appointed and bed linens and towels plush and soft. I love no carpet and the color and decor is serene and calm. Very pretty. Plenty of parking and the personal omelets made in the a.m. are delicious. Will be back.
My husband and I really enjoyed our one night in Beaufort. This property is older, but is being renovated. Our room had clearly been recently renovated -- it was clean and comfortable and had nice touches like charging ports and plenty of electrical outlets. We got good dinner recommendations during the efficient check in. The location is superb -- right in the downtown area. We took a walk to look at the beautiful homes, had a delicious dinner and walked back to our room. The complimentary breakfast is set up in it's own special room (which was spotless) and was quite good. I recommend this property highly and would definitely stay there again!
Friendly staff, quick check in and check out. Nice rooms and great breakfast. Within walking distance of fabulous restaurants and bars. Small issue with room keys handled quickly. Great view of the water. Close, easy drive to Parris Island for family day and graduation.
We have stayed at Best Western Sea Island Inn many times on our way down to Florida but this was by far our best visit. The clerk at check in and the food service manager were very friendly and welcoming. The guest rooms and breakfast area were recently completely redecorated to reflect a relaxing and beachy motif. The room we stayed in was the best location yet facing Craven St. with ample parking right in front of our door. We will definitely stay here again, but next time will spend more than one night in this beautiful and friendly town.
We had four rooms here for our grandson's Marine graduation from boot camp. Charming area with restaurants within walking distance. Main desk personnel were friendly and gave us a packet regarding directions to Parris Island and a schedule of what was happening there as well as advice on what time to leave in order to get there on time. It was only about 15-20 minutes drive. Upon arrival we were told the rooms had just been renovated and we were the first to stay in them. Rooms nicely decorated in modern decor. Mattresses and pillows very comfortable and shower had a regular head as well as a hand held head. Wifi free, phone chargers can be plugged into lamps. Very up to date. Cookies and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. I believe there was also a pool however we did not use it. Great buffet breakfast included in the price. Great place to stay!
We were there for our son's graduation from Parris Island SC. The receptionist at the front desk “Colleen” was extremely helpful. She also followed up on a personal request on rewards points and contacted me promptly! The room was clean . Although renovations were on going we were never inconvenience by them. Wonderful stay!
Best Western Sea Island was a great find for us as it was so convenient to the Historic Downtown area. Very, very short walk to many shops, restaurants, the marina, carriage rides, etc. Lovely town to walk around and see the beautiful old homes. Service at the Sea Island was great, even though we were about the only guests there last weekend. We did meet a couple of more guests at the free continental breakfast, which was very nice and had all we needed. The hostess was very pleasant and accomodating. Christina at the front desk check in/out, was very pleasant and professional, and so helpful with any needed information about town, etc. While they are still undergoing a major remodel, the workers were very respectful of quiet hours and did not disturb us in any way. Was so quiet there, and remodeled room was very comfortable. Would return.
The location of this Best Western could not be better. You are right on Bay St. and can walk to shops, restaurants, and the marina. You can also walk through the beautiful surrounding neighborhood with the old homes and well cared for yards. Staff are always friendly. The breakfast is a step or two above the usual Continental fare.
Sea Island Inn in Beaufort is a great little hotel right in the Historic District of Beaufort. Just steps away from local shopping, dining and the beautiful waterfront park. It was a little more costly than I would normally pay, but with the location it was worth every penny. Hey, sometimes you just have to splurge. Our queen room was newly renovated and was very nice. This room overlooked the pool, which could have possibly been noisy if it had been the summer season. Beds were very comfy, bathroom was sparkling clean. Loved the shower heads and the lighted mirror was a nice touch. Internet worked great. Breakfast selections were typical but enjoyable and filling with good coffee. Breakfast area was spacious, inviting and clean. My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay and would not hesitate to visit the Sea Island Inn again and again.
I had the pleasure to recently stay at The Sea Island Inn and I cannot say enough about the beautiful renovation which they have completed. The hotel guest rooms are absolutely beautiful with all new bathrooms and guest rooms. The mattress was perfect! The location is conveniently located within walking distance of many of Beaufort's restaurants and shops with views of the river. And breakfast left nothing to be desired. The staff is warm and friendly always looking to see how they can serve their guests. I would highly recommend The Sea Island Inn and look forward to my next return
This is in ideal location for anyone wanting to stroll along the shops, restaurants or desiring to take a carriage ride. The guest's comfort and needs are paramount with the staff. Whether your room is on the back side or over looking Bay street, the view is awesome.
The hotel is being renovated and we got one of the new rooms! Very nice. The location near to the historic district is the reason we chose this hotel. Great decision as it is within walking distance to everything. Very nice staff and extremely clean
The hotel is extremely clean and the staff very courteous.Went to Beaufort for the Shrimp Festival and stayed here because our regular place we stay every year was booked. I may have found my new regular place to stay at the Best Western. Park the car and not have to touch it for days. Walk to everything.
Multiple visits to this very popular motel. Sea Island BW has been around for 50 years or so but they have done an excellent job of keeping the property and rooms current. Rooms are clean, large and with a contemporary bathroom. Rooms include a slightly better than standard breakfast. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. At the end of Bay St and across from the Downtown marina. Boaters are given some cancellation leeway with 24 hr notice if the weather does not cooperate. If you call and they are booked try the online booking sites as they may still have rooms available. Highly Recommend. Hope this helps.
We stayed here for USMC graduation at Parris Island. Batteries were dead in our remote and our TV would only tune to one channel. Someone from the desk came up immediately to make it right! Within walking distance to downtown Beaufort restaurants. Only drawback was that there's no elevator to the second floor. Great information packet given to us at check-in for all graduation activities at Parris Island. Early continental breakfast for those trying to make it to Parris Island in time for activities Thursday and Friday.
This hotel is close to everything in historic Beaufort and within walking distance. The marina park is just across the street where you can catch a carriage tour of the historic homes. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choices to fuel you to dinner. Restaurants and cafes are excellent and within walking distance. The staff are friendly and happy to help make the stay pleasurable. The rooms are kept clean daily, we even tracked in sand from the nearby beach which was vacuumed up promptly. When asked, they left us extra towels and coffee in our room. We enjoyed the pool which was kept clean and tidy even though they are renovating some of the nearby rooms. There was no road noise or renovation noise and we had a restful sleep all the nights of our stay. We will absolutely stay here again and again!
This is a little gem in downtown Beaufort within walking distance to the harbor, downtown and pick up for tours. Very friendly staff, clean room nicely appointed. My only complaint was too little counter top area in bathroom and a room air conditioner that blew directly on the bed. It's an older property, so all things considered, it worked pretty well. I would recommend this motel to any travelers. The nearness to the harbor is a big plus!
Nice location. Beautiful views of the water and easy walking distance to stores and places to eat. Room was very comfortable, bathroom was a nice size and it was very quiet. The pool area was a nice places to sit.
The Best Western on Bay Street was fantastic! I have never stayed there before and am so glad I did. Convenient to all shops and restaurants. Clean, bikes available for loan, nice little pool and tasty breakfast.
Our stay was stellar. We asked for and received a first floor room. The room was very comfortable. The free breakfast was more than I expected. The lady there cooked us omelets, plus thee were do it yourself waffles, sausage and hash browns, plus all the other expected fare,. Colleen at the front desk went out of her way to accommodate us. She provided us with a corkscrew and 2 wine glasses...just what we needed. This hotel is on Bay Street, which is the main drag, as much as there is a main drag. Anyway, you are right at the beginning of it. There are several bar/restaurants and they all have a rear entrance that leads to outdoor dining or drinking, and these tables look out onto the waterside park. It is a very pleasant atmosphere and just a short hike back to the hotel. A large section of the town is ancient homes and trees. It is well worth a slow drive or walk through this section of town. The Big Chill House is there on the water too. Very cool. This town is like a smaller version of Charleston, but it has its own charm. The Best Western is a central place to make camp. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
I had read about Beaufort and decided to visit with my wife and teenaged daughter. In selecting a place to stay, I wanted location. When we pulled up, my daughter said “This looks like Port Orleans.” Except the location is real. It does fit in with the town's real historic homes. What do you want from a hotel: check in was easy. Room was immaculate. Beds very comfortable. Staff smiles and is very helpful, offering umbrellas for the rainy evening. Parking is a breeze: on site and free. AC kept room very comfortable on a typically humid day. Pool was clean and relaxing. Breakfast had fresh hot eggs, bacon, waffles, cereals in boxes for lots of variety. The breakfast area is beautiful overlooking the river. Walk down the hallway in the breakfast room toward the bathrooms and read all about the hotel's opening and what it replaced from the original newspaper articles. It was a big deal then and a big deal now. Location : you can easily walk to everything and carriage tours begin across the street. We loved our stay.
We spent last weekend at the Best Western Sea island Inn. We were part of a group that traveled down to Beaufort from Charleston by boat. This is the seventh or eighth time that my wife and I have stayed at this hotel over the past ten years. Before I tell you about my experience, let me give you some context. I'm retired now, but I spent the last twenty years of my career doing sales and marketing for a well-known international luxury brand. During that time, I was fortunate enough to have traveled all over the world, and since we dealt with high-end consumers, most of the time we stayed at places like the Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton. Airfare was usually coach (ugh!), but our accommodations were always top-notch. You may think I'm crazy, but the Sea island Inn ranks way up there with the best. Let me give you a few revealing examples from our recent stay. #1 When we arrived after a hot (and rainy) trip down the Intercoastal Waterway, the hotel had a refreshment station set up outside the office with nice bottles of cold water and the like. Much needed and perfectly played. #2 The hotel had assigned two staffers to help with our luggage. One nice young person offered to carry my stuff up the stairs. Are you kidding? And there was another person on the second floor who schlepped the stuff from the top of the stairs to our room. Cool. #3 The towels in our room were beautiful. Normally my wife is a two-towel lady; she always uses two towels whether she's at home or at a hotel. But the towels at the Sea Island Inn were so thick, luscious, and THIRSTY that she only needed one. First time that's happened. #4 The wireless internet was outrageously fast. I noticed it with my iPad, so I ran a little speed-test utility and saw that we were getting 65 Mbps! For the record, that's faster than my wireless at home. #5 The people at the hotel are genuinely nice. Clearly this hotel has an imbued culture of being friendly and hospitable to the guests. And it comes across as sincere, not canned or forced. Now one might ask how anyone could compare The Sea Island Inn to a 5-star international luxury powerhouse hotel? The answer is simple: the Sea Island Inn exceeds expectations in many different dimensions. End of story. I post this review for two reasons. #1 to recommend it to Trip Advisor readers. If you're in Beaufort, why would you stay anywhere else? And #2, to send a signal to the management and team members of the Sea Island Inn that they are doing the right things right … and for the right reasons.
If you are visiting town...stay here. It is walking distance to everything. It may be a Best Western but it fits in the location. Historic brick building, fantastic pool, extremely clean, great pool, excellent breakfast!!! Good rates and great value. Will stay here again for sure!
I reserved ten rooms for a family reunion over the 2018 Fourth of July holiday. The staff made it easy to do this way (no long contracts to sign and deposits to make) and my relatives were able to reserve without any problems when they were ready. The location of this inn is excellent, the staff were very nice throughout the reunion, the bikes are there to use, the breakfast buffet (which comes with the room) is ample and served in a very nicely renovated room, and the pool was a great place to cool off and relax. This is not a fancy place but the price is right and it was a great spot for our family.
A wonderful and accommodating staff that truly makes your experience a joy from start to finish. The location is prime as you can walk to all of the stores and restaurants on Bay Street and to the historic point and the homes.
We spent 2 nights here on our trip and it was definetly one of the best motels. Why? We liked the central location, you can reach the Harbour and the little shopping street of Beaufort by foot. They have parking slots and a very nice pool area. They have nice decorations and the service of the staff was outstanding (free icecream for the pool kids, free street map for us...). Breakfast was also good, everything we liked ( yoghurt, fruit, eggs...).
We were treated very well this hotel knows customer service. We went out and when we came back there was a humidifier in our room and a note to call the front desk. there had been terrible storms high winds and rain. We saw nothing wrong. Lisa at the front desk explained the situation and offered us the room next to us and offered to help us move. She checked with us to make sure we were we satisfied. Outstanding service.
We stayed at this hotel when in town for my sons Marine basic graduation. Hotel is in a great location down my the waterfront. This is a small hotel, only 2 stories and no elevator so ask for a ground floor room if you heavy a lot or heavy luggage. Rooms are clean, but air is either cold or hot, no in between. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast included.
Nothing beats waking up with a waterfront view in Beaufort, South Carolina framed by centuries old oaks draped with Spanish moss. Once you step out your hotel room door, you're immediately immersed in the charm of one of South Carolina's most beautiful, old towns, complete with massive historic homes, beautiful architecture and the must-see sites. Don't stay anywhere else if you go to Beaufort. We will return!
I cannot say enough good about this Inn. While visiting beautiful Beaufort, my husband had to be admitted to the hospital. The folks at Best Western helped me change rooms, move my bags, and were so helped and friendly. Always wanting to help. The caring of the entire staff was fantastic. Thank you Lisa and everyone that works there.
We stayed here and just loved this place from the moment we were greeted at the check in desk. It's an older hotel right on Bay Street in the historic area. It was so neat and clean and so well taken care of. There was a free breakfast every day in a cute little room right next door. I am a diabetic & they were nice enough to keep my supplies in their office as we had to check out earlier to take a carriage ride & it was so hot out we didn't want to keep in in our car. 5 stars for this lovely & well cared for hotel.
This is the second time I've stayed here with my husband. I really like this place. The place is very clean and well kept. All the staff are wonderful but I want to give a huge shout out to Evalina who prepares the wonderful breakfast! She's a gem and they better keep her and give her a raise! This hotel is within a block of the historical downtown which is a plus.
My daughter and I were in Beaufort to attend a wedding - I choose Best Western based on other reviews I'd read. It is clean and comfortable and even quaint! I would definitely stay here again. The folks working there were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as well.
The Best Western Seaside Inn is a shining expample a hotel that offers great customer service, clean comfortable rooms, full complimentary breakfast and advice on local sightseeing/dining experiences, then you have found the Best Western Seaside Inn in Beaufort! We were welcomed with a whole lot of Southern Hospitality from every single staff person we encountered. When I return to Beaufort, I will definitely stay there again.
Perfect location, attentive staff, attention to detail and an extremely comfortable (and clean) room. They could not have been more helpful to us during our two night stay. The breakfast was better than we have had in quite some time. We would absolutely return again without hesitation.
The BW Sea Island Inn is in a perfect spot for discovering the wonderful historic district of Beaufort, SC. It is right on the main road through the district (Bay Street) but everyone moves a little slower down there so there is no problem with road noise. The staff was great and the breakfast was good. Hot and cold items were fresh, and the lady in charge was friendly and kept the serving trays full. Everything was 5 star except the room itself was a little dated. A narrow entrance to the bathroom and the sink was shorter than usual (I don't bend over as well as I used to). Other than that - no complaints. Parking was free and adequate and the landscaping was well maintained. Overall a very good experience and we would definitely return.
We were so fortunate to get rooms on our impromptu visit. We stopped by this property without a reservation, and due to a cancellation, were assigned adjoining rooms for our large family -- perfect! It was wonderful to be able to walk around historic Beaufort, enjoy a fabulous waterside table dinner (recommended by the hotel staff) and sleep comfortably. The amenities were top-notch, breakfast was great and all of the staff most pleasant and helpful!! We will definitely return!
The manager Lisa was outstanding. We stopped in to inquire and were thinking about several other options which were priced less, however she was so kind and helpful (the hotel was booked except for the two rooms that we needed for our family) that we decided we would just stay and we are so glad we did. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was perfect and the breakfast staff (and all other staff) were extremely courteous and helpful. The pool was great too, very clean. We also needed special accommodations for some frozen items we had and Lisa took care of it so we did not have to worry and could just unpack and relax. The location is fantastic. After we unpacked we walked along the river front and though the very quaint downtown area then stopped for dinner. We also strolled through the surrounding neighborhood which was storybook charming. This should be the top rated hotel in this price range for Beaufort.
We lost our car keys and the desk person, Lisa, was really helpful. She made phone calls for us and gave us toiletries since we had no access to our luggage. If I ever get stuck in a city again and have to stay overnight unexpectedly, I hope to get service as good as this. Oh, and the room was quite nice and clean and the breakfast was better than average for this price range.
This was our second stay for USMC graduation. Great location! The hotel is a short drive to Parris Island. A nice variety of restaurants and a waterfront park are within walking distance to pass the time between graduation week activities. The staff could not be more helpful. Parking is plentiful and the facility is well-kept .
Nothing super fancy but its clean comfortable and quiet. Can't ask for much more in a 3 star hotel. Could use updating but then it would cost twice as much. I'd rather keep it just the way it is. Cheers
We enjoyed our stay and really loved the Beaufort area. I appreciated the front desk giving us a list of restaurants and things to see in the area. The bathroom was small in room 140 though I appreciated the deep soaking tub after being on the road over a week. Room 140 had a safe though we didn't feel the need to use it. The sweet lady in the breakfast room made the stay very pleasant. Cleanliness quite good at the hotel. Bed very comfortable. At check in we were offered two queen beds so I reinforced we asked for a king bed. Since I also wanted a quiet room it caused some juggling.
This is a nice 2 story hotel. Room and bathroom was very clean. Only problem with bathroom is it was small. Not much room to sit toiletries. They have a very good breakfast with many items to choose from. Was right across the street from water and park. Enjoy out 2 night stay.
Excellent hotel situated in the heart of Beaufort with easy walking access to restaurants and shopping. The location is good for short drives to the beach and other places. Across from the waterfront park where one can walk, enjoy the sunset or relax on the patio of the many restaurants parking is great, rooms are clean and well maintained, staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay here again.
The stay in Beaufort was the first since being stationed there in the 70's. This stay was actually nicer than the reunion its self in GA. I don't think putting a minimum requirement on any reviews is proper.
Had the best room in the inn. Room 200 has a view of the bay. Very large, comfortable beds. Friendly, helpful staff. Gave good directions and recommendations for dining and bicycling. Room very clean.
The BW is the ONLY place to stay in Beaufort. You are right across the street from the starting point for all the tours, and the beautiful walkway along the water. If you blink, you'll drive right by this gem of a hotel. Unimpressive from the outside, but clean and updated inside. Frig and M/W in room, and safe for your valuables. Breakfast buffet opens @ 6:30; good spread.
Very pleasant stay in Beaufort. We were happy for the close proximity to shops and restaurants. Very nice view of harbor. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice little breakfast. Clean hotel.
We traveled to see some friends and they recommended staying there since it was by the water. It was very nice place , everyone was friendly the breakfast was good, you could walk across the street to the water and there a nice park and some places to eat , would definitely stay there again.
This is an exceptionally well run motel, with friendly and courteous staff. The location is perfect as it is extremely convenient to everything. The rooms are dated but very clean, with free internet, small refrigerator and coffee makers. The free breakfast, in the morning, is one of the best we have experienced.. They also have bikes available to rent, at a cost of $10.00, for half a day.
Title says it all! One block walk to shop and food. Bay view, across street from marina and kiosk for horse drawn carriage tour ride. Comfortable locale. Room rate a little on the high side, but worth it!
Loved our stay. at Best Western Sea Island Inn..walking distance to great restaurants.. Colleen at desk was charming and so helpful. Breakfast was so good and breakfast help so kind. Make sure you take in the Kazoo factory while you are in town. Do the tour...so so fun...and you get to make your own kazoo.
This hotel has a location that can't be beat. Check-in with “Big Bob” was quick and pleasant. The lobby is stocked with fresh coffee, cookies, and individually-wrapped snack bars all the time. The rooms are fairy simple but very spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated. They don't have elevators so if you don't want a room on the second floor just mention that before you arrive and they'll be happy to accommodate. The free breakfast is impressive because it isn't just bagels and muffins; rather, they serve all the normal stuff plus hot eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles, biscuits, potatoes, and fresh fruit. My favorite part of our stay was talking with Evelina, who works in the breakfast room! We would definitely stay here again!!
Location , location , location. Room , staff and amenities excellent. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again myself. Make sure to take Janet's walking tour, excellent , Janet is very knowledgeable.
Arrived after 8 PM with no reservations. We were greeted with a smile and a very friendly manner. Room clean and had all the amenities that you could need. Breakfast included with hot and cold choices. Really liked staying on first floor with vehicle parallel parking close proximity to room. BW located across from the marina. No question, I would stay here.
Highly recommend this hotel located in the historic area of Beaufort. Check-in was a breeze and the hotel provided us with a graduation packet full of helpful info. Rooms were comfortable and spotless. In room fridge was very convenient to have. One of the best continental breakfasts I've ever seen, large selection, all fresh, and service begins at 5:30am giving you time to have breakfast before heading over to Parris Island for family day and graduation. About a 15 minute drive from Parris Island, the location is wonderful. Across the street from Waterfront Park and walking distance to main street of town with lots of little shops (most close by 5:00pm) and restaurants. Also noticed bike rentals and carriage rides, all within walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful which was really nice after a day filled with lots of people and activity. Although you need to check out before leaving for graduation ceremony (unless you're staying another night), they will allow your Marine to use their facilities to change out of uniform if needed. All in all, a great stay. Only one small issue with the hotel keys not activating which was quickly corrected and the folks at the front desk were as helpful and friendly as could be. Would stay again and recommend to others.
This hotel really took care of us. They reserved several rooms together, changed dates with ease, released rooms we didn't need, made us feel loved and valued ---- they even saved us a Beaufort Gazette when we called from PI and couldn't find one. Location was great with lots of things to see within walking distance and fun places to eat. Enjoyed watching the boats from the swings across the street. They really made our experience even more special, took care of things we didn't even know we needed, and helped us celebrate our Marine! And, they let us come back to change clothes before the long drive home. Thank you and we would definitely stay here again.
Located on Bay St. in Beaufort, has easy access to shopping, restaurants, historical sites and beautiful views of the bay and ancient moss-draped oaks. Rooms were quite nice, although not spectacular, but a bargain for the price. Definitely will stay here on our next visit.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay here at Best Western Sea Island Inn. Check-in was easy and so very friendly. We were given maps, and any question we had was answered. The room was clean and had convenient areas...including an extra nook for p/c use or whatever, as well as a desk. Location was perfect! Across from the marina and horse and carriage, an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, in beautiful room with plantation shutters and delicious selections, hot and cold. The breakfast hostesses were so friendly and caring. The pool wasn't open, but looked inviting! We did need to do laundry, and were informed we could use the marina laundry located across the way. Easy and worked for us, as the front desk even had rolls of quarters available for purchase for this purpose. This was one of our favorite hotels along our route.
They accommodated early check in, gave me a map of the area and off I went. Lots of places to eat in walking distance, across the street from the riverfront. Nice pool area. Breakfast area was big with a lot of choices. Coffeemaker in room which is a big plus. Felt very safe walking at night. Rooms are definitely not soundproof, not a huge deal with me being a heavy sleeper. Horse drawn carriage ride across the street was very informative and a lot of fun.
We chose this hotel based on its excellent reviews, and since we were in town to attend a boot camp graduation, it's proximity to Parris Island. We found it to be clean, quiet, comfortable, and conveniently located to everything. The staff we encountered were friendly, efficient, and extremely accommodating. This is especially true of the women who staffed the breakfast area and the front desk in the evening. They were outstanding! The one and only negative occurred when we returned to our room one day to find that the maid had not shut our door tightly and it was therefore left wide open the entire day. Luckily, nothing was missing, and the front desk staff, we feel, went above and beyond to compensate for this mishap. Overall, a very good choice!
We were there to see our grandson graduate from Marine Boot Camp at Parris Island. The weather was unseasonably cold but when the sun came out it was bearable. It was such a wonderful hotel with the absolutely nicest staff, I can't say enough. We have already made reservations to go back in the spring and early summer. It is a beautiful setting one block from the waterfront. The complimentary breakfast could not be beat. Our whole family was there and they were kind enough to give us adjoining rooms. My husband was not well, trying to recover from the flu so we didn't have the room serviced on one day, but they were so cooperative and kind. It can't be beat. Just steps away is the town with many great shops and restaurants, all backing up to the water. You won't be disappointed.
We came for my son graduation and I have another son graduates in the summer... and I'll be back then. The breakfast was excellent. And they had the paper insert for my son platoon graduation. We will for sure be back.
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel!!! We needed a hotel for our son's Marine graduation and this hotel was perfect. While the design is older(looks like an historical part of Beaufort) the rooms are very clean, updated and comfortable. We arrived after a very long drive with a sick child, and were greeted by Colleen..who is amazing!!!! She offered us ginger ale for our son and was so helpful!! She even made several restaurant tips when I asked. The next day, I ran into Colleen and she asked how our Family Day was and even asked if our other son felt better. The complimentary breakfast was perfect and they opened it early for Family & Graduation Day. You can easily walk (2-3 mins) to many nice restaurants. If you can't decide which hotel to book for graduation...pick this one you won't be disappointed!! This is the view across the street.
BW Sea Island is NOT a fancy hotel; however, it IS a very nice, very clean, comfortable hotel with a competent and NICE staff from the front desk right on through housekeeping, maintenance, etc. The location is outstanding - right on the water, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and less than 20 minutes to Parris Island. A self serve breakfast buffet is served every morning with everything from cereal and fruit to pancakes, pastries and waffles. During our time there we had a chance to look at some of other area hotels that we almost chose and never regretted choosing this BW. I highly recommend it for anyone going to a Parris Island graduation or just visiting the Beaufort area. Tom A.
Nice location, across the street from the piers, makes for great evening strolls. Also convenient to other area restaurants and nightlife. The room was clean, bed comfortable and well maintained. A bit pricey for the area, but not totally out of line.
This is an older inn near the armory and far away from the busy streets full of motels and fast food. Close to the water with many old growth trees covered with Spanish Moss. The area is quiet, easy to walk in and restful. Our king room had plenty of space to move around and space for our items. We felt comfortable in the room. The TV could be larger and the cabinet is certainly large enough to accommodate a larger set. The breakfast room is lovely - bright white and clean. You feel as though you are in a charming restaurant. The view across to the water is special too.
We had the pleasure of staying at this Inn for two nights while visiting Beaufort SC. It is nice to leave your car and just walk to the many fine restaurants located nearby. This is the advantage of staying at this Inn. In addition, to properly see Beaufort one needs to walk the streets to view the many antebellum houses within the area. Being downtown provides this convenience and opportunity. The hotel room was modern and clean. We had two Queen sized beds, refrigerator, microwave and security safe. If you are a Best Western card member you can obtain a discount. Included is a wonderful hot and cold breakfast. Hot scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes were my items of choice. My wife had the typical healthy items of fruit and cereals. The hostess of the breakfast room was just delightful. She made our morning. The two desk guys we encountered, Big Bob and Buddy were professional and very helpful . Hint.... Request Room #200...the only room with a view of the harbour located across the street. We also had the nice sunsets. We recommend this place as choice one when visiting Beaufort SC.
Jan 3rd - 4th. We found this hotel looking for shelter under borderline emergency conditions in the brunt of Winter Storm Grayson. We could not have found a more welcoming and courteous staff. From Buddy at the front desk to the attendant at the continental breakfast, and all the way up to the manager that ran out in storm conditions to make sure the guest all had something to eat later for lunch/dinner. They all aimed to please and went the extra mile.
This was our second trip to Beaufort, after falling in love with this city a couple years ago. We were worried that our expectation would be too high, having had such a wonderful trip last time, but when we checked into Sea Island Inn, we were not disappointed. We did check in a tad early, and waited about 15" for a room but it was worth it. We got our same room, on the end with a view of the bay...it's lovely, although the walls are a bit thin. Fortunately our neighbors were not horribly loud. This hotel is right in the downtown bay area, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Really the best place to stay. There's a pool and breakfast in the a.m., neither of which we tried out this time around. The only drawback to rooms on the second floor is that there is no elevator. So we had to schlep 50 pounds of luggage up a flight of stairs.
A quaint and aged hotel, but nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great stay, great people. First BW i've stayed at that offers fresh made omelettes in the morning. Hard to get reservations due to vicinity to Parris Island Marine base, but will try again next time I'm in town.
My nephew graduated from Parris Island in 2008 and we stayed at BW for the first time then. We feel in love with the town of Beaufort and go back there twice a year. This motel is great. It is walking distance to the town and most activities nearby and the rooms and staff are super!
Awful furnishings unfriendly staff. no water pressure lukewarm hot water Rooms from the 1980's hard to navigate to the room suggest that you stay outside of town at one of the newer finer inns that are offered on the highway into beaufort
We enjoyed our recent stay at the Sea Island Best Western, in Beaufort SC. Staff is quite nice and the included breakfast is better than average too. The location can't be beat - right in town with an easy walk to everything. The hotel exterior fits well with the character of the downtown area. The rooms, however, are in serious need of a refresh. Grout and caulk is failing in the bathroom, and the daily cleaning crew tries to keep up - but they are losing the battle. Beds are comfortable, but decor is very dated. If hotel was a few miles out of town, it would be not acceptable. They are clearly taking advantage of their location. Something for you to consider before you book here - would you prefer more updated or right in town? Room itself would be rated poor, with location as very good - therefore average overall. BTW - if you have 1-2 people to a room instead of 3 or 4, I recommend you consider City Loft instead - as location is just as good yet rooms are far more up to date.
We were in SC for my son's graduation from Parris Island. It was a very enjoyable stay at the Inn and very convenient to get to the base. We were able to enjoy the town while we were there. The restaurants were conveniently located - a short walk from the hotel.
We were extremely happy with our room. Very clean and well appointed. Check in was very easy, clerk was very welcoming and nice. Only utilized breakfast once as we left very early for PI but they did start it early to accommodate families leaving so early. We just chose not to go, but it was great the day we went. We would definitely stay there again! 10 mins to PI gate, about another 7-10 mins to drive to the We Make Marines sign, visitor center to park so plan accordingly.
It's obviously an older property that has been very well updated and maintained while still keeping some of the older charm. If you are looking for luxury and lots of amenities, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for comfort, charm and a great value, it is perfect!
Had s fabulous time! Hotel is conveniently located across from waterfront park. The area is very conducive to walking, especially up and down the beautiful historic streets. Very close/ walking distance to excellent restaurants.
I was in Beaufort for my niece's boot camp graduation (surprise surprise) and reserved this hotel months prior. Little did I know that it was the night of the tree-lighting ceremony in Beaufort. The trees is right across from the hotel. The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean, internet worked fine, breakfast was well-stocked with everything you could imagine. The reception area was homey with cookies and coffee 24-hrs a day. Just a quaint little place across from a beautiful walk along the water.
Great hotel to participate in all the Holiday festivities Dec.1-3 in Beaufort. In the heart of all the fun and activities and within a 5-10 minute walk to everything. Hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. Excellent place to stay.
Booked the Best Western Sea Islands Inn in Beaufort SC to take the family to Christmas festivities in Beaufort. Typically we stay at the pricier inns in Downtown Beaufort and decided to give the more reasonably priced Best Western a chance. The location is key; it's the only real option in that price range that's right in the heart of the historic district. Not needing the car for the entire visit was great. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Attending our sons graduation form Parris Island. The hotel staff was so helpful with a wealth of information about the area and gave us a graduation packet with maps of the island, graduation schedule, directions, etc. It is a beautiful, quaint town with wonderful shops, restaurants, and people. DO NOT MISS THIS. Very affordable. 10 minutes to Parris Island. Walk to all of the sites.
The tone for our stay was set when I first checked in. Colleen, our check in person, was extremely upbeat and very attentive to our needs and paid special attention to the details. After settling in our room, Colleen called to ensure we were happy with the room and all else associated with our stay. She even made reservations for us to a local restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding and there was sufficient variety from which to choose. The room was on the top floor in the back side of the property which was great since we did not hear any noise from the main street emanating from in front of the hotel. Highly recommend the Best Western Sea Island Inn.
Convenient location in Beaufort, SC ...close to downtown, with a view of the waterfront. Rooms are clean, staff friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was awesome and again very clean. We have a business and I appreciate that all these things don't happen by accident....we thank you for your efforts!
An awesome place to stay!!! Nice big clean rooms! The beds are comfortable. The staff is so nice and helpful! It is right across the street from the bay, with a place to sit outside and watch the boats. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. You can rent bikes to ride around town, take a walking tour of the old homes and history of the area, and across the street is a carriage ride that you can take for a 50 min tour! This is well worth the price and I would recommend this hotel to everyone!
The staff was courteous and helpful. Excellent service. Will come back. I came on a work related trip and would liked to have stayed longer. The view was beautiful - placed across the street from a marina.
I typically do not stay at Best Western hotels (just because I am a points member of another brand). This hotel was a choice in a block of rooms for a family wedding so we chose this one. We loved it and will be back for another visit!
Simply a great place and a great hotel. The staff and location can't be beat. Everything in downtown Beaufort is within walking distance. Great restaurants, shops and art galleries. I have stayed here since I started coming to Beaufort to visit 10 years ago. Look no further. Book it!
We enjoyed the hotel and all the surrounding sites. Loved that we had easy access to restaurants and shopping which were all within walking distance. Love Beaufort the town and how quaint it was. Also enjoyed seeing the Veteran's day parade come right in front of our hotel! Great weekend and with family and friends enjoyed a wedding too!
Entering the lobby of this attractive hotel is like going into someone's home! The staff were very helpful and the rooms very clean. The breakfast is top of the line for hotels in this range. Because the hotel is so popular it is advisable to book well in advance in order to get the type of room you want. The hotel is within walking distance of the tourist shops and restaurants and convenient for trips to the Hunting Island Park and Beach.
Stayed here for Marine Corps Graduation at Parris Island. Nothing short of excellent. Clean, nice hotel, very close to the base. The staff were excellent. Made you feel special because you had a new Marine. Fantastic location right on the water. Walk to eat and relax. Beautiful sunsets sitting in the park. Great place. Great people.
I love staying at this hotel when I am in town. It is walking distance to shops, restaurants and the marina downtown. Get beautiful sunset pictures down by the river every night! The entire staff is so friendly and helpful! The breakfast is phenomenal.
This is not your typical Best Western. The staff goes above and beyond!!! The rooms are always clean and tidy. Location is awesome. You can walk to most shops and restaurants. My husband and I are frequent guests and we just love the Best Western Sea Island Inn.
Great place to stay if you like to walk to shops, restaurants and River Walk. Decor and amenities are dated, but very clean and safe. Parking can be challenging as they were filled up for a wedding and the Beaufort Garden Tour. Will stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay, easy access and we'll lit. Walking distance to the waterfront and many shops, restaurants and galleries right downtown. Hotel had a lot of breakfast choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Beaufort exudes southern charm: Ancient Live Oak trees tower over antebellum homes on brick streets. There are upscale shops, interesting restaurants and a beautiful waterfront park, perfect for watching boats come and go or watch the sun slide into the marsh. The historic portion of the city has avoided the monotony of chain restaurants and coffee bars so as to preserve their local and unique vibe. If you are a bookaholic don't miss Nevermore Books, a mix of old and new books cleverly displayed as well as collectible vinyl records. The city needs a better hotel selection. There are several B&Bs, but visitors who prefer a hotel have limited options. The Best Western is the premeir location for walking this very walkable city. It's staff is friendly and informative. And it has ample parking. However, the room was dim, low wattage bulbs in lamps made reading difficult. The AC filter needed changing, and room smelled of cigarette smoke and mildew. From the balcony along the second floor guests see the standing rainwater on the flat roof below, perhaps the source of the moldy odor. The value in this hotel is found in its location and its friendly staff.
Although I stayed only one night in the Best Western Sea Island Inn, it was so nice that I wanted to write this review. Check in with Buddy was friendly, very efficient, and he was so helpful. When I made reservations for two rooms for one night, I asked Buddy if he could recommend a nearby restaurant for a special birthday celebration. He did just that, and we had a lovely evening at Plums. The Sea Island Inn is so quaint. It was very clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Buddy allowed us to check in early, which was a huge help on a rainy day. Our beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were clean and well appointed. The architecture of the inn, as well as the decor of the rooms fits so nicely with the area of Beaufort, and there is a kind of vintage feel, with up to date beds and bright rooms. Complimentary breakfast was on point, with good food, and a wide selection of items, both hot and cold. Location is ideal for walking around Beaufort, both in the lovely residential areas, as well as the shops and restaurants on Bay St. We very much enjoyed our one night there, and definitely plan to return again. This will be my "go to" place from now on, on my visits to Beaufort.
The staff and hotel were wonderful. Accommodating staff easy check in/out and very clean rooms. Location was great with nice restaurant choices and shopping in the area.We got an info packet upon check in for the Marine Graduation, help with finding good celebration restaurants and other area things to do. All in all wonderful, easy and clean! We didn't have time for breakfast but I was told it was great!
Sea Island Inn went above and beyond to accommodate us with 2 rooms for a week after a booked Air BnB cancelled our reservation. This is our go to place to stay for future visits to Beaufort. This is a wonderful location for walking the area!
This hotel was really superb! Very clean, comfortable, attractive rooms. We were especially impressed by the complimentary breakfast which included eggs, omelets, sausage, biscuits, hash browns, and many other breakfast items. Definitely more than the usual continental breakfast. Plus the dining room had a view of the river along Bay Street. The hotel is a few steps away from the downtown area with numerous restaurants and shops as well as the waterfront park. A great find! Price was very affordable!
Located in the historic district, waterfront park, shops and restaurants. Carriage rides are located nearby. Breakfast room is conveniently located and the food good. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful.
From beginning to end every employee we encountered or interacted with from booking to departure were EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND EFFICIENT. Employees went out of their way to accommodate each guests need(s). Overall the entire staff was exceptional!
We visited this hotel for one night in October. We had a reservation at another hotel in Beaufort- after viewing the room & location decided we could not stay there. We drove around looking at other hotels and found this gem. The rooms were clean and spacious & not outrageous. The location ( right across from the marina) was beautiful and close to restaurants & shops. The staff was wonderful- very accommodating & helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
This is an older, but very well maintained BW located in downtown Beaufort across from the marina. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Many selections for breakfast. Only complaint is the bathrooms are too small and need to be remodeled. Otherwise a great place to stay for the money.
The Sea Island Best Western has the best location for enjoying downtown. The rooms are fresh , clean and comfortable. They charge a fair price and breakfast is included. The hotel looks out on the waterfront park , you can park your car in their lot and forget about it as everything is within walking distance or a short bike ride. They even offer rentals!
Fantastic hotel. Service was the best I've ever experienced. Breakfast was wonderful Colleen was so helpful. Definitely recommend this establishment. Went for granddaughter's Marine Corp graduation. What a great experience.
We enjoyed our stay here so much I wish I had a reason to go back. We stayed here when my grandson was graduating from Marine Boot Camp on Parris Island. Could not have been happier with our stay. The hotel in located in the historic district of Beaufort which is delightful and located right on the bay. Southern hospitality abounds. It is very clean, comfortable, quiet, conveniently located, and very relaxed. Wish we'd had more time to take advantage of the local charm.
We stayed at this hotel during our son's U.S. Marine Corps graduation from Parris Island, SC. This was a great place to stay nearby base and very accommodating for our specific needs - early breakfast was delicious, provided PI graduation schedule and staff was very friendly. Rooms were very nice but compact in size, grounds were well kept. We would recommend!
This hotel has the best staff and location in town, so I would highly recommend staying here for your shorter stays. We come via boat at least twice a year and typically choose this hotel for that exact reason.
Very friendly staff. Very clean room. I recommend to anyone staying in Beaufort and any recruit families for graduation. Staff gave out all literature we needed for getting on Marine base. Even the grounds staff very helpful . We are from Ohio and I find Southerns in service industry to be so much more friendlier and always trying to make our stay the best
The location is fantastic, just a short walk to restaurants, bars, and attractions. There is plenty of parking. The entire staff was great!!! Polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, everything worked perfectly. After spending over three weeks on the road, we were plagued by clogged shower heads, toilets not working, rock hard pillows etc. This hotel was great! Good coffee and breakfast in a very pleasant dining room gave us a great start in the morning.
Had to make a quick trip to Charleston but decided to stay in Beaufort overnight, what a great decision! BW is located in a great spot downtown. Was very impressed with the upgrades since my last visit. It was very pleasant to sit outside for breakfast on the river...would definitely come back, hopefully soon!
Traveled to Beaufort by boat and stayed at Best Western. Great city, restaurants, hotel and hotel location for traveling by boat. Recommend to any one looking for a long weekend getaway. Take or rent a bike. The Spanish Moss Trail is a great ride.
We were very pleased with our choice of hotels while attending our Marine's bootcamp graduation festivities at Parris Island. It was a quick 10-12 minute drive from the hotel to the Island. Very convenient since you have to be up and over there at the crack of dawn. The rooms were nice and clean, the location was perfect (walking distance to restaurants, shops and waterfront), and the employees were the nicest you'll find. Breakfast is included, and although we didn't partake, my parents did and they said it was very good.
Best place to stay for the USMC boot camp graduation!! Great location. Clean rooms. All the people working there were so nice! 15 mins to parris island, easy ride. Breakfast was open early so you can leave early for the events.
I was extremely satisfied with Best Western - Sea Island! From the moment we checked in to when we checked out, we had a fantastic stay in Beaufort. The proximity to Savannah, Charleston, and Hilton Head were were what brought us to Beaufort, but the town, itself, was peaceful and relaxing. On the days that we visited other cities, we found ourselves looking forward to our new favourite place.
Had a great experience at the Best Western Beaufort. Clean, cute and well maintained room. Great breakfast and a very nice breakfast room. Enjoyed being across from the waterfront park. This hotel was a great find, with great staff. We will be back for sure.
We stayed at this hotel for our son's marine graduation they were very accommodating when we called to reserve our rooms and when they got there everything was ready and anything We asked they either knew the answer or they were willing to get it for us ..If we are ever in the area again we would definitely choose this hotel for our stay
My stay was pleasurable. The location was convenient to downtown restaurants, businesses, and the battery. I was not able to book a room with a view, because this was an emergency booking. However, if I book again I will ask for a room overlooking the waterway.
Hotel rooms were clean. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and always hot. I can't say enough about the staff especially Colleen from MA!! She was always friendly and helpful. Offered us complimentary umbrellas in the crazy SC summer weather.
Though the hotel is older it is very clean and it's in an excellent location for walking by the water, shopping and yummy food. Bathroom was very small, but functional and very clean. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly.
This hotel is exactly what my husband and I needed for our first time visiting Beaufort. The location is perfect- you can walk to the marina, to the waterfront park, to restaurants, shops, and bars. Our room was clean and comfortable, pool was adequate, and breakfast was very good. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Beaufort.
The hotel is really quaint and beautiful, just as you would want it to be in downtown Beaufort. The staff is pleasant, professional and extremely accommodating. They go out of their way to be friendly and no matter what you need, they jump to assist. Our favorite place to stay in Beaufort.
The location of this hotel is right in historic Beaufort. We felt safe staying there and walking around the area. The hotel is very quaint and has nice outdoor areas with benches and tables to sit at. We enjoyed swimming in the pool. The breakfast offered is one of the best.
We were only in Beaufort for 1 evening but can highly recommend the Best Western Sea Island Inn. Staff very helpful and friendly, room comfortable. Good breakfast and the staff was quite helpful in getting me a dairy free milk for my cereal. Location is perfect. An excellent hotel in walking distance of everything.
Enjoyed our one night stay. Rooms were older, but that gave them character. They were clean and the accessible room, although smaller than other ones, was usable. Loved the central location and the ability to walk to the marina and enjoy the views on the swings. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Hotel and staff were great Location was perfect for Paris Island. Waterfront is gorgeous. Wish pool stayed open later for after dinner swim because everything closed at 5:00pm as far as shops and entertainment
We felt like we had the best hotel location possible in Beaufort. The Best Western was not right on the water, but about a block away from the marina and a nice park with swings for adults overlooking the water and a playground for the kids. We were on an upper level facing the parking lot. I don't think there are any views of the water from any of the rooms, but I didn't find any hotels that did. Nice restaurants and shops all around. We were somewhat disappointed that the shops closed in the early evening on a Saturday, as we arrived in the evening and were only staying one night. There were a few ice cream shops open and restaurants, thankfully. The rooms in the hotel are small and not very bright, but clean enough and with fridge and microwave. Doors are on the outside, which isn't typically my favorite. However, the design of the hotel has a wrought iron look to it, so somehow that made the doors on the outside not so bad! Our eight year old enjoyed the pool, which is outdoors in a courtyard area. The fitness area was very small and musty. We just walked into it, did not use it. We slept well and the complimentary breakfast was one of the best complimentary breakfasts we've had, with plenty of hot, cold and fresh items. Staff and service were terrific. Very friendly. If we come back to Beaufort, we would consider staying here again.
I really enjoyed being able to easily push my Mother around in her transfer wheelchair during our visit! You simply must dine at Plums and the little Cafe on the corner beside the Sea Island Inn was very good as well. The staff at the Inn were so friendly and helpful. It was very clean and the breakfast was more than adequate and in a large enough room to not feel rushed while eating so others could have a place to sit. Really enjoyed it!
Love love love this place. We stay here every year with a group of friends and have a ball. The staff is very nice and the hotel is alway extremely accomodating. We enjoy walking the street as the location is very close to shops and the town.
My 4 daughters and I visited Beaufort to see the town and visit my brother. We could not have imagined a better experience than what we had at the best western. Perfect location and wonderful innkeeper hosts! They were soooo friendly and helpful! The breakfasts were top-notch!!! We will be looking forward to planning our next visit at the Sea Island Best Western in Beaufort!!!
Let me start by saying the staff is fantastic! We were treated like royalty from the minute we checked in. The housekeeping crew always kept the room spotless. The complimentary breakfast was great and the staff made sure that there was always fresh food at all the stations. But...this is an older property. The rooms are nice but quit small. My biggest problem was the monster in the wall that masqueraded as an air conditioner. It ran all night long, was very loud and blew cold air directly on me. There was no way to re-direct the air flow. If I tried to turn the temperature up it wouldn't come on and the room became hot. Changing the fan speed did no good. I ended up making a wall with the extra pillows that kind of worked. The location is perfect if you want to explore downtown Beaufort. You are close to several great restaurants and some nice shopping. The property is right across the street from the marina and Beaufort's beautiful waterfront park.
Stayed here one night when in the area visiting friends. Wonderful location and within walking distance to cute downtown area. The marina is right across the street and nice to be able to sit outside and jut watch the boats. The room was nice and I found the bed comfortable. Big plus was the tub drained properly as the previous two nights at other establishments did not. The one thing I didn't care for too much was I had booked my room through Expedia like I usually do, and at check in was told to just call hotel directly and not go through booking.com or Expedia. Last I checked I was a grown woman and I will do what I see necessary. Now another approach would have been suggesting to call the hotel and not reprimand me for how I booked the room. Would I stay here again? I would.
I arrived at 8:30 PM after a 12 hour work day driving around the state and visiting location. Colleen who was on that night took great care of me. I walk in telling her how the day had not gone well with weather, accidents and being late everywhere. That I had not had water or food all day. She hooked me up to my room so I could clean up. I came back and told her I hit something. She was so concerned about me and worried. She sent me to get food and ask me to check in with her when I got back. When I finished dinner I stop in and she was glad that I made it ok. She gave me a care package for the next day with food and water. I felt like she went above and beyond. The room was great clean and relaxing. I went up took a hot shower and off to bed. The temp in the room was good. The next morning I went down for breakfast. I was running late and breakfast was almost over but I was able to get a few things. I went up stairs to find out my key was not working. I went down. The gentlemen on that morning redid the key and watch to make sure I got in my room. The whole staff was great and friendly. I felt like they cared for me like I was family. I will be going back when I return for a vacation.
Sea Island Inn is nothing special but it is a great location for enjoying historic Beaufort. And a great value. It's clean, comfortable, quiet, and provides a very good complimentary breakfast. We will be back!
Buddy and Lisa made every effort to accommodate an early check in even those there was an event going on in town and all the rooms were full. The room was immaculately clean and the bedding superior. The location right on Bay Street near all activities and restaurants is a plus. I would choose Beaufort Best Western rather then Charleston for a place with lots of interesting things to see and do. .
Stayed at the Sea Island Inn for 3 nights to do some surf fishing at Hunting Island State Park and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect - right across the street from the marina and water front. Would like to see the hotel pet-friendly but that won't stop me from returning.
the beds was very hard the toilet and sink was on top of each other hard to get in between them and had bug traps in between mattress and boxsprings and on back of headboard but the location was alright it was at the waterfront
Best Western Sea Island Inn is a perfect hotel for boaters on the Intracoastal Waterway. It is just an easy walk from the Beaufort City Marina. The staff is always very welcoming and the rooms are clean. We have stayed at this hotel 4 times and have never been disappointed. The hotel is also an easy walk to restaurants and shops in historic downtown Beaufort.
This is a great hotel right on the waterfront. We had originally made a reservation at a high-end B&B in Beaufort, but doubtful weather made us cancel (we were flying our own airplane). And we are glad we did! The location is excellent - right in the middle of the waterfront park, restaurants, and the Historic District. Everything is within walking distance (but use the bikes at the hotel - they're in great shape). The employees are knowledgeable and very helpful. They made a great stay even better. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beaufort, SC!
This is one of our favorite places to stay. The hotel has everything you could want/need. The staff are amazing and dedicated to making sure you are happy and comfortable. The hotel is spotless, the rooms comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is delicious. Incredible location, safe, and quiet. The only place we will stay when visiting Beaufort!
Our family of 3 stayed here for one night on a recent trip. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast offered plenty of options and the breakfast staff was cheerful even when facing a room full of hungry guest. We would certainly stay here again if we are back in the area.
We booked a room for the July 4th weekend. Only stayed two nights, but wanted to stay longer. Fantastic, helpful staff. Great location. Nice pool. Walking distance to shopping and food in a quiet town.
Truly a great view of bay at Beaufort, SC. One block from the beginning of unique shops on the main road. Fine restaurants on the water or off side streets within walking distance. Great pool and fitness room. In the heat of the summer, the pool and iced, iced lemon water in the lobby are welcome treats. Enjoy a piece of South Carolina history within walking distances. Best Western Best Value...Best Breakfast......
Had a fabulous stay at the Best Western. Everyone of the staff took the time to make sure that we had the most enjpyable few days. The `Room with a View` was huge and overlooked the Marina. Parknig was free the pool area restful and the breakfasts were wholesome and fresh - coffee perfect.
This hotel is located in walking distance to many of the historical homes, museums, and a variety of shops. It was clean and impressively decorated. All employees were friendly, helpful, with positive attitudes that made our family feel welcome.
Sea Island Inn is a lovely hotel, with courteous and friendly employees. The complimentary breakfast was varied and delicious. Complimentary bottles of water in the lobby was a big plus, also. The location is gorgeous right across the street from the water in a prime historical part of Beaufort. Loved it.
Our family rented 4 rooms for my nephew graduation. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very warm and friendly. The complementary breakfast was excellent. Even though, it is a great location in the heart of town almost and the rooms are super tidy, the outside needs a bit of improvement, that is precisely why I didn't give a 5 star. But overall, I wouldn't mind going back for a vacation. The town is charming and everyone is very friendly.
Want to thank Bob and Buddy for going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable . They gave us helpful information to ensure we had all the information needed to see the best in Beaufort. Hotel is located in downtown location where most everything is in walking distance.
The night desk clerk at this BW went above and beyond what she needed to do. 14 of us had been on PWC's for 100 miles that day traveling the inter-coastal waterway. After 8 hours on skis, she brought us all water during check in, made dinner reservations for us, and even treated us to a late night cookie. This BW with its staff is da bomb!!!
We had one day without reservations anywhere while making our way between Hilton Head and Charleston. We were directed to this property by some friendly competitors who were full. Rooms were tight in general for a local Marine base graduation. Staff were great. Breakfast included was not bad.
Stayed here in this quaint southern town.Hotel gracious in the historic district-loved the location, the decor, the shower, exceptional breakfast spread in a beautiful room!!I would rebook in a flash!Treated like royalty as platinum members!Bob was great.
Older motel with small rooms. Nothing fancy but very clean, wonderful location, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast. They have bikes available to get around and there is a scenic bike trail. Would stay here again.
This Inn was cute and clean. My main issue was the check in. I was told the room would definitely be ready by 3 pm. Upon arrival at 2:35 the man at the check in desk informed me the room was not ready and I would need to drive around for 30 minutes until it was. There was no cleaning staff near the room so I am not sure why he would state the room was not ready. When the hotel was called a few minutes later I was told the room had been ready for a while??????? I had my elderly mother in the car so this was very inconvenient after a long drive.
My husband and I spent 3 nights at Best Western Sea Island Inn in Beaufort at the end of a vacation celebrating our anniversary. The room was very comfortable and immaculate - a reflection of their wonderful housekeeping staff. The location is fabulous - nestled into the historic neighborhood, very short walk to the charming town and to historic landmarks. The staff is absolutely amazing. Warmest greeting ever came from Ellison upon our arrival. The overall warmth and hospitality of both Colleen and Ellison at the front desk are unsurpassed. You would think it was their family business! They were like two concierges, printing directions, directing us to area attractions, etc. When Colleen heard it was our anniversary trip, she made a beautiful card for us on behalf of the hotel, complete with a bow and complimentary use of bikes to visit the Spanish Moss Trail. How very kind and thoughtful she is! Breakfast was always yummy - hot buffet, fresh berries, and other great selections. Catherine, our breakfast hostess, kept the area in tip top shape. The buffet was constantly freshened, and she was a ray of sunshine in the room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Beaufort. It is a good value, and the staff goes out of their way to ensure a wonderful stay.
Great location, rooms were immaculate.nice pool, great breakfast offerings. Plenty of parking.walked to resturants and a couple historical parks and houses... Alittle expensive then other hotels in area but so. Worth the money.
Extremely professional and well trained employees make this hotel a treat. It's location in old town Beaufort and the unusual décor for a Best Western just add to the experience. I would recommend this location to anyone. The rooms were surprisingly quiet - we were on the historic street on the back side of the hotel.
The Inn was so perfect. It was very clean and the staff was extreamly accommodating. It is so close to the quant little down town area with plenty of yummy things for dinner. Make sure you take a walk to view the beautiful scenery. It really is a hidden gem.
The staff was outstanding, the room was comfortable and clean. The location is great, across from the Marina. The pool was refreshing. The breakfast had lots of choices. It was perfect! I wish we could have stayed longer. The lobby was very nice as well as our room.
My wife and I have been coming to the Sea Island Inn since 1986. Always have a good experience and the staff is very helpful. The Trask family has and continues to keep the property in outstanding condition. Would not stay anywhere else in Beaufort!
This is the PERFECT choice for anyone visiting Beaufort. It is possible to park and not drive again during your stay. Just a block from shopping and restaurants, right across the street from the park and directly in front of the most beautiful homes in Beaufort. I was very pleased with my room. Lovely decor. Breakfast was quite good! I will definitely be staying again!
Best motel in Beaufort SC to stay!! We love it--everyone is always very professional and welcoming to their guests! The hotel is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and water park---very convenient! Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Pulled in to this BW because of the view over the harbor. Fortunately we got a nice room with a view over Port Royal Sound. Very nice room. Great breakfast, with outdoor seating under a live oak. Short walking distance to downtown area and historic homes in Beaufort. Highly recommended!
Booked on line as a BW member and as not disappointed! It is a lovely hotel in a great location in the old historic district. You can walk Bay St, the lovely park on the river and to all the Antebellum Houses. The rooms are clean, the bathroom had a wonderful rain shower head and the breakfast was very well done. The staff was welcoming, offering booklets of local places to see. I definitely recommend this BW hotel.
This is a well-kept motel situated on the main street right across from the water and a short walk to the shops on the main street. The rooms are very nice with an updated décor. The only drawback is if you are older you have to carry your luggage up the steps which was a bit tricky.
What a great Hotel. This Best Western is one of the best hotels we've stayed in. From the staff, the cleanliness and grounds. The location is awesome. Everything we wanted to do, except a kayaking tour was right there in walking distance, from site seeing, places to eat, and shopping. Because of our late return from the kayaking tour, we would be late checking out. NO PROBLEM, the hotel gave us late checking. YES, we will recommend this hotel. and YES, we will go back. Thanks Best Western!
This hotel is the only national chain hotel downtown Beaufort, that I am aware of, and it is located directly across the street from the marina. We take our boat from Charleston and dock here. The hotel is charming and clean. I love that they haven't disrupted the historic archetier of the downtown with some gaudy, 5 story, interior hotel.
Amazing staff; both on the phone (to call and book directly) and in person. All staff members encountered were extremely friendly and knowledgeable to every question we asked. The breakfast was the best spread I've ever had at a hotel. The pool is wonderful (pool noodles even provided - I've never see that before!), the room is classically designed and cozy. Parking is perfect. I have ZERO complaints about this this wonderful hotel. It's a Best Western chain, but has the cozy charm of a family owned local inn. Do not miss the opportunity to stay here!
Perfect location - couldn't be better Professional and friendly service and a very very comfortable room. Quality sheets and lots of pillow types to choose from. Great coffee, Great waffles, Great Eggs, Great sausage!!!!
Charming hotel with great location just on the edge of town. Helpful staff, wide range of breakfast offerings including fresh berries, umbrellas available for unexpected rain events. First choice when it's available.
We were only here for one night, but were very pleased. Coming by boat and docking at the city marina made this hotel the perfect place to stay since it was right across the street from the marina. Check in was super easy and the employees were very friendly. Spent a little time in the swimming pool which was very clean. There were even pool noodles for the guests to use. A nice little surprise. The room was a good size and very clean. The bathroom was a bit small but like the room, very clean. The breakfast the next morning was nice. There were biscuits, sausage, sausage gravy, bagels, pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee and fruit juice. And the young lady that was working there (I think her name was Catherine?) was a great asset to this hotel. She was constantly making sure everything was stocked and clean. She walked around and asked guests if they needed anything and even removed dirty plates from the tables for people. I hope management realizes what a great employee she is. The only negative of this hotel was the fact that there was no elevator. Carrying luggage and coolers upstairs is not fun. But like I said in the title, would definitely stay here again!
This motel is quite old and is showing its wear – small rooms, very small bathroom, outdated entry and a TV remote that worked when it wanted to, no amenities for handicapped visitors, which were requested in advance. This alone would render a 2 star rating at best. HOWEVER, “Big Bob” at the checkin desk went out of his way to get a portable toilet seat raiser and a bathtub bench and three others of the staff also provided assistance, Buddy, Ellison and Collette. For that I raised my rating to 4 stars.
This hotel has one of the most friendly staff I have ever experienced. It was obvious they valued our business and strived to make our stay a wonderful experience! I highly recommend Best Western Sea Island Inn when visiting Beaufort, South Carolina.
We had a great time during our recent visit to Beaufort. If was a special trip for my 85 year old mother, and the staff at Best Western Sea Island Inn couldn't have been more helpful. They gave us the best room in the hotel and made sure we had every thing we could need to have a nice time. While the building is old, they have taken care to make the rooms comfortable, clean and inviting. And you can't beat the location - right near the river, the historic district and downtown shops and restaurants.
Very nice staff and very nice breakfast. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Was on a bus tour and the staff was very helpful and courteous getting our luggage down to the bus on time. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
This hotel is right on Bay St within walking distance of almost anything you want to do. Nice rooms. The only drawback was the commode. Really low to the floor and jammed against the wall. I would not let this keep me from staying here again. The staff was awesome. Really good breakfast with hot items every day.
We recently traveled to Beaufort for a funeral. The staff was especially sensitive to our needs. The location was beautiful and convenient, and the breakfast was great. My only complaint was that the internet was impossibly slow.
It's so good to be able to go on vacation and not worry about anything regarding the hotel. The room was clean, the beds were super comfy, the location was awesome, the breakfast was delicious, and the price was affordable. They made everything easy and carefree. This is a perfect choice for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Beaufort.
Our room was perfect and very clean. The staff was awesome and catered to your every need. The breakfast was great, and the coffee delish! I would highly recommend this hotel...it was in a perfect location with great shops and restaurants across the street....
Right on the waterfront you can walk to many attractions and dining spots. Take the horse trolley ride and see the historic old homes. Many sites are an easy drive from this hotel. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful
Crazy to think that a Best Western can be this nice! This hotel has one of the best staff's I've seen at any hotel. They are so accommodating and the location is perfect to downtown Beaufort. We stay 6 times a year and it is always so nice!
Great place if you can get in; more expensive than the average BW, but clearly a better choice than the average by the highway Best Westerns. Right in the heart of downtown; really choice if you can swing coming to Beaufort by boat, as the hotel is right across street from the Downtown Marina! Good breakfast, great staff, nice little pool.
Everything was GREAT, Perfect location. Staff extremely friendly and could not have been more helpful. Would strongly recommend for any type of trip. Breakfast was better than what I expected and great hours.
This hotel was highly recommended to us by our friends -- and they were absolutely right in their assessment. The room was clean and a good size (we got a room with two queen size beds). It included a microwave and small refrigerator. The beds have firm mattresses, which is what we prefer. The location is EXCELLENT -- once you arrive you can walk everywhere you want to go. Parking is free. Our room was nice and quiet -- even with a window open. The front desk staff person was very friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants. They also have some brochures there to help you enjoy your stay.
I stayed here with my daughter for two nights nice Best Western in a fabulous location. The front desk had cupcakes that were delicious because it was Easter weekend. Our room is in the back and it first I was disappointed but then realized our view was the historic homes. Our room was comfortable quiet the beds lovely the bathroom clean. We were walking distance to all the stores restaurants and marina. He took an informative carry cry and I lovely boat ride for $20 each. It was the end of our stay and we would look for a laundromat in the front desk gave us bags and detergent for the laundry across the street at the Maria. This hotel is in a great location to jump after all the islands and sightseeing. The front desk is wealth of information of local affairs. The pool area was cute and well-kept. There are chairs and tables all around the hotel. To lounge about. The breakfast at hot items cold items yogurts fruit cereals everything to start your day off and a lot of smiles at this place You can't go wrong at this best western
Fabulous breakfast! Biscuits and gravy were so good. Great service. Clean rooms. Nice pool. Great locationwith plenty of shopping and restaurants. Adorable town. We'll be back to explore more for sure. Loved the smell of the salt air.
Best Western Sea Island Inn, Beaufort, SC is an excellent hotel. I highly recommend it. From the moment you see the beautiful brick building, wrought iron fencing, and honeysuckle crawling up the sides you feel good about your choice of hotel. But, it only gets better once you see the room. Very clean and the bedding is all white which means you'd be able to see any stains, etc. The bedding was immaculately clean as well. The bed itself was very comfortable and the comforter and pillows were top grade - ones I"d have at my house. The hotel staff was very friendly and any questions we had were answered right away, coffee ready to go early in the morning, in-room coffee pot and coffee, ironing board, and hair dryer! The hotel was quiet at night. We were there for my son's graduation from MCRD and a lot of other visitors were too but it was quiet by 9pm. Within a couple of blocks are shops with art, food, ice cream (excellent ice cream, by the way). Within 6 minutes you can be at Dockside (excellent sea food). You can be at MCRD Parris Island withing 20 minutes (and it's just a couple of turns and you're there - not hard at all). I will stay at this hotel anytime I am in the Beaufort, SC area.
Spotless comfortable and perfectly located on the water front in Beaufort. View of the park, the marina and town just a step away. Breakfast was served in a lovely dining room, bright and sunny. Pool was nice size and clean. Beds, super comfortable. Great value..great best western!
Wonderful views! Perfect accommodations! Great breakfast! Extremely friendly and caring staff! A memory we will have forever! Would recommend to anyone of any age! Very convenient to waterfront, shopping and dining!
We were here for Marine graduation. Everyone was very helpful with all questions regarding directions and Beaufort in general. Good hand outs about the area. Best location for walking around town. Thanks to all that work at Sea Island Inn.
This hotel went above my expectations! I have a very hard time sleeping at hotels so we don't do this often, so this was an exceptional experience! The rooms are very quiet almost soundproof. They are also very clean!
The location was within walking distance of everything we did. The front desk staff, every one of them, were helpful, friendly and nice. Great Southern charm from all the staff. Breakfast had great choices
The location was perfect for our short stay. It's in the center of town. We parked the car when we arrived, and walked everywhere. The breakfast was good. There was a variety of options. Everything was very clean. It was slightly noisy. We could here when our neighbors came in around 11:30pm, but overall the town itself was quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Very good location. close to downtown shops and restaurants. convenient parking. friendly staff. comfortable bed with microwave and refrigerator. breakfast was included which is a nice addition. I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others
Loved staying here. Right in the middle of the city's activities. Could walk everywhere. Great for Marine bootcamp graduations which is why we were there. Staff went out of the way to make us comfortable. Safe section of town. Great breakfast and seating. Pool looked great although it was too cold for us to swim. We would definitely go back to this hotel.
When my husband was planning this trip, he called the hotel to ask about availability and rates. Buddy, the assistant manger explained that a group had just walked in to check in and if he could call my husband back, then a few hours later, he called back! Unfortunately, the only room available was a queen room but Buddy said that he would try to upgrade us when we arrived. Upon arrival Buddy and his assistant were unable to upgrade us to the king room and were very apologetic. We completely understood as it was the beginning of Spring Break and a very busy time. Buddy took the time to tell us about some places to see in the area, told us about the breakfast in the morning and gave us a great walking map of the historical homes near-by. They were friendly and efficient. My husband and I had a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back and spend more time. We will definitely stay at the Best Western again! Its perfectly located within walking distance of everything, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the building was quaint.
The seaside inn was the perfect place to stay in downtown Beaufort. Wonderful clean and comfortable rooms with a delicious hot breakfast. Right across the street to marina. Shopping and restaurants very close to inn.
FANTASTIC Hotel and incredible service! We stayed four nights for our daughter's wedding weekend and received exemplary service! I cannot say enough good things about all of the staff at the Best Western. I would recommend the Best Western to anyone traveling to the Beaufort area. Beautiful Hotel, beautiful location, great value and excellent service - everything you hope for when traveling.
So glad we stayed at the Best Western in Beaufort, The front desk staff member, Buddy was welcoming and extremely helpful, The morning breakfast was very convenient and the coffee was full of flavor even my husband found it acceptable and he is picky. The room was extremely clean and modern, it smelled good and was a short easy drive to Parris Island. Great waterfront and historic location with some good local restaurants and bars. Easy checkout. Thank you for a great stay
?? This was my BEST hotel stay - ever!! Was treated like royalty in every way imaginable!! Hated leaving - a little slice of heaven!!I'm not sure what you're asking for but I think you want me to tell you if I liked it. I LOVED my stay there!! So much to do in the area you could be busy morning to night - the problem is that you never wanna leave this hotel!! Staff is like family the minute you meet them. I've never had my house as clean and fresh!! I don't want to stay anywhere else again
We were in Beaufort for a wedding and stayed at this hotel. All of our experiences with the staff were positive, pleasant, professional, and friendly from making reservations, checking in, and checking out. We had the corner room (200) with several windows and a view of the bay. The room was very nice, but we did laugh about the bathroom. It looks like the installation of the commode was an afterthought, but we managed. We appreciated having a refrigerator and bottled water and plenty of bathroom supplies. The refrigerator doesn't have a freezer for our freezer packs, so we got ice for our small cooler. When we checked in, we received information about the area, and there were also cookies and candy available in the lobby along with newspapers. The breakfast room is very pretty and has ample choices even if you are on a low-carb regiment like me. Thanks for that! We and our friends enjoyed sitting outside at the tables overlooking the bay while we ate breakfast. This hotel is in such a good location that we walked everywhere. Walking to the shops, restaurants, and waterfront were enjoyable. Thanks for a terrific stay!
Stayed here while in town for nephew's graduation from Marine Corps Boot Camp. Very nice hotel in the historic district. Very convenient to the waterfront and to local restaurants. Room was small but very nice. Updated.
The staff was very understanding and accommodating with so many changes to our event and Hurricane Matthew hitting the area. The staff was very ac-knowledgeable about the area and had a packet of information for the graduation we were attneding. Answered all questions, reasonably priced and within walking distance of downtown and many restaurants.
Needed a get-a-way and chose Beaufort, SC from our "to visit" list. Chose the Sea Island Inn based on Trip-Advisor reviews. Beautiful location, right in town, and right by the water. Check in was a breeze, very welcoming. It was a haul getting our luggage up to the second floor but we survived. Room a bit smaller then we imagined. Was spotlessly clean, much better then pretty much any place we have stayed ever. Bed was ok, could have used a cushy topper for added comfort. Also, a comfortable chair for reading would be nice but not sure the size of the room would support it. Had trouble with my room card key, husband did not any problem so I'm not sure what the problem was (kept it away from my cell phone). Front desk was quick to fix it each time. I thought the breakfast selections were great, husband a bit pickier.
We traveled to Beaufort by boat with a group of 12. We booked our rooms here because of the location near the marina. We are so glad we did. It is an older hotel, but everything about was excellent. Every employee we met was so friendly. The rooms, while not lavish, were spotless. The bed and pillows were wonderful. Again, simple, but clean and nice. We used the pool and they had towels, floats, tables and chairs. Pool was extremely clean. We all enjoyed the breakfast the next morning. Good variety of hot and cold food. They had eggs, sausage, breads, waffles, fruit, juice, and many other items. Again, everything was spotless and the people were friendly and helpful. With all of this, you can walk to all the shops and restaurants in Beaufort. You can also walk across the street to the docks or the wonderful park right on the water's edge. One thing, make sure you bring your camera!
We were extremely pleased with our stay. The location is great with shops and restaurants within walking distance. We arrived by boat and the Marina is right across the street. The property is clean as well as the room. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and most helpful. The continental breakfast was the best I have had in a hotel. We will return.
My wife and I chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and it lived up to them. It is probably in the best location of any lodging facility for anything in the old city - restaurants, shops, and the riverfront. Nothing is more than a 10 minute walk. Several nice restaurants with outdoor patios with nice river views are 2 to 3 minutes away. While the hotel is older it is well maintained. Everything looked fresh and the furnishings were modern and in great shape. King bed was very comfortable. Breakfast area is large for a hotel with a view of the bay area and a better than average selection of items including several hot choices. Only drawback is the small bathroom which has almost no counter space. Several small shelves for toiletry items would make it much more user friendly. Regardless, we would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to friends.
The staff was exceedingly friendly. IZO, the young lady who checked us in, was very helpful in her restaurant recommendations. The central location of the hotel made it possible for us, as senior citizens, to easily walk to all the Beaufort restaurants and attractions that we were interested in. The free breakfast was very good and was served in a very spacious breakfast room.
We enjoyed several nights at the Sea Island Inn. The room was clean and quiet. The location was perfect, just down the street from downtown and across from the bay. Staff was friendly. Wouldn't change a thing.
We stayed for two nights because our property was having work completed . The location is great, right at the end of Bay St., next to the park and many activities and restaurants. Parking is included and convenient . Breakfast was included. The breakfast room was immaculate . The food had many choices. There is a room key entry system. USA Today is included. The hotel room and beds was clean and fine . Check-in was easy. No problems.
Excellent. Had a great time and when I'm back in town will definitely stay here again. We were there for a family wedding and my sister picked the hotel. Great choice, wonderful weather and a great time. thanks again to all.
Everything about this hotel was just great! Rooms were very clean and up-to-date. Employees could not have been nicer. Since we were that to see our son graduate from Parris Island, the folks at the front desk gave us a great information package about family day and graduation. Great restaurants and shops just around the corner. Parris Island is a 15 minute drive away. Neighborhood is very nice and the marina is across the street. Although we were there with family, my wife and I look forward to returning by ourselves for a few days to really enjoy this great hotel and Beaufort.
Great place to stay! Centrally located to all fun things to do in Beaufort. First time here in Beaufort and at this hotel and it was great! The staff is super helpful and gives great recommendations on things to do in Beaufort or around the area. No complaints! We will go back!
Beautiful exterior. Professional, nice and helpful staff. The beds are a bit uncomfortable but overall worth the money. The location was convenient to Parris Island. The breakfast area is open early enough to make the island in time for motivational run. The breakfast area is locked so you have to have a room key to get in.
Excellent hotel, beaufort downtown area beautiful easy to walk to restaurants and very comfortable. Clean room and bed very comfortable, Trulia and Bob front desk attendants very professional and it was a pleasure to stay there.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Excellent location for walking around downtown Beaufort and Waterfront Park right across the street. The desk staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Will definitely recommend this hotel. Good value.
We had a problem with ordering our hotel through Travelocity where we booked the wrong day. This Best Western was helpful for us in giving us a better rate the online company, whom wanted to charge us more for changing that day. Always call the Best Western directly if you're going to stay there.
This wonderful little place was the perfect place to stay in Beaufort. It was right across the street from the waterfront park where we competed in a dragon boat festival and so near all of the great shops and restaurants on the waterfront. The staff was so welcoming and we will stay there again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at BW. We were there for my son's graduation from MCRD Parris Island and I would highly recommend it to any parents when they come down! The hotel was clean, cordial and even had a packet made up with MCRD information and things to do around town. The included Continental breakfast was very good; eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal, juice...pretty much anything you could want! The historic town is within walking distance and very quaint. We even weathered Tropical Storm Hermine with no problems at all. Great place and wonderful staff!!
I was hoping to get a reasonably priced place to stay with our family that afforded us a view and some dining options. This motel gave us both opportunities. Although our bathroom door wouldn't close, probably due to warping from humidity, it was quaint, quiet stay for the night.
We spent our honey moon in this hotel in 1966 when I was stationed at Parris Island. Returned last week to a very pleasant surprise. They hotel was first class and we enjoyed the anniversary gift the folks left for us in our room. We did present the receipt from our original stay for their records. It was great and they treated us wonderfully. Much has changed in the last fifty years, however the down home atmosphere has not changed. We were thrilled to spend the night here and recommend it for any visitors to Beaufort.
Terrific lodging place for boaters and those visiting historic Beaufort. Rooms are fully equipped. Easy walk to marina, shopping and restaurants. On site free hot breakfast. Cold spring water and iced wet towels available in the lobby. Staff make the stay a "family affair".
Traveled to Beaufort by boat and the hotel was right across from the marina. Affordable, clean and convenient to all of downtown. Staff was very friendly and helpful (except for one guy at the front desk who was a bit curt and standoffish). Nice breakfast the next morning. Will be back.
We stayed at the Best Western Sea Island for a long weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Originally I had been looking at a couple of bed & breakfast inns that looked amazing along with this hotel & another one that all were in the same downtown area. We really wanted to be able to walk around the water front & Bay St. areas without driving & having to find parking & make our little trip as relaxing as possible. I waited for several days after first looking at all the inns trying to decide on which one & then finally decided on one of the bed & breakfast inns & it was already booked. So I then by the recommendation of a friend & also reading multiple great reviews booked a room at the Sea Island & what a great choice it ended up being. We were extremely pleased with every aspect of the inn. It had been completely redone at some point & was immaculate both inside the rooms & all the outside areas as well. The rooms are not overly large but they are comfortable & well appointed. I am extremely picky when it comes to hotel rooms & it doesn't matter the price range there are some that have not been as clean as I would've appreciated but that was not the case here. The front desk personnel were incredibly nice & helpful also & made you feel right at home both checking in & out. They also had a very nice continental breakfast included in your stay that offered a couple of hot dishes too. It was not anything fancy but had many options that definitely were plenty for us such as cereals, yogurt, fruit, waffles that you could make, juices, coffee & a variety of teas, bagels, pastry, eggs, sausage & gravy biscuits, etc & was kept spotless by a very friendly attendant. There was also a beautiful pool that we enjoyed after dinner a few evenings & it was impeccably clean as was the pool area. We highly recommend the Sea Island & on our next visit to Beaufort we definitely will be staying here again.
We enjoyed our stay in Beaufort while we visiting our son graduating from Boot Camp at Parris Island. Cute little town with restaurants and shopping right on the water. We stayed at the Best Western Sea Island Inn. Site unseen so we were a little nervous. The exterior feels like an old French Villa but the negative is no stairs. Quaint little pool and a decent breakfast made this a nice experience.
Squeaky clean, quiet room. Well-thought-out room layout and balcony seating was a plus! Helpful staff, easy parking, and close to the center of town. We walked everywhere! I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Our room overlooked a quiet street with lovely old historic homes.
Nice view of Historic Beaufort.Right on Bay Street so it's a walk to everything. Comfortable, clean room. The folks at the front desk are the best.Oji is the happiest person I've ever seen--super-helpful.Great complimentary breakfast--eggs,sausage,muffins--the works.
Great stay. Will definitely return. Convenient to the Historic District and could walk most everywhere for dining. All of the staff was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was a typical complimentary breakfast and was just right for us. Will return.
The Hotel is lovely, charming, clean and overall comfortable. The beds are a sleepers dream and the staff are warm friendly and very professional. The in house breakfast is outstanding. On a hot day you can enter the lobby to find coolers with ice waters and chilled wash cloths for your refreshment pleasure along with coffee and snacks, simply GREAT,
I had a lovely experience while staying at the Seal Island Inn. It was within walking distance to many little shops and nearby eateries. The view of the inlet across the street was a major attraction as well. I was very pleased with my stay overall and would definitely stay there again.
No complaints. Cleanest hotel room I have ever seen. We came in after midnight & only wish we could have spent more time there & wish we could have stayed a few more nights! Friendly gentleman at desk. We would go back- would not do another search. Great location- looks like the best to me. The housecleaning staff deserves high praise!
This hotel is located in the heart of Beaufort's charming downtown area within walking distance of the waterfront, shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. It's an older hotel but it is decorated with a delightful southern flair, is well maintained and clean. The beds were clean and comfortable. Although the hotel was booked to capacity, our room was nice and quiet. We didn't take advantage of the full breakfast that was included in the price of our room, but the food looked good and the breakfast area was clean and attractive. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful -- southern hospitality at its best. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
This hotel is close to the marina as well as the waterfront park. You are within close walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants. We've stayed here on several occasions and will definitely stay here again.
Stopped here on a visit to Parris Island. The staff was super friendly and had great dining recommendations. The view from our room was lovely and it is walking distance to historic Beaufort and the waterfront. The only drawback is that the bathroom was very small. Everything was clean and comfortable though!
Everything was nice here...great location, very nice room, good price and wonderful breakfast. Each day a different hot selection for the complementary breakfast...very helpful people at the front desk too...loved Beaufort!
This hotel has a very homey feel to it staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a eating at home feel to it. Right on main street and across from waterway. The room was clean and odor free. Pool is a bit small but will suit needs but note as of my visit it closes at 9pm too early for me. For the price the location, breakfast and ease of getting to the base plus right on the edge of shoppin if needed. You just can't beat the value.
This was my second stay in Best Western Sea Island Inn in Beaufort, and it was as enjoyable as the first. Hotel staff are all friendly and helpful. Both times I have stayed there (once with my husband and once with a friend) the staff recommended Saltus restaurant for dinner and it is an excellent place to dine. The rooms are comfortable and the complimentary breakfast is very good. The location can't be beat...park the car (parking is free) and walk everywhere. If we return to Beaufort for another visit, this is where we will stay.
We had the 2nd floor in the front (213) so we listen to the music both nights and the firework were great. We arrived early and was able to check in then were when to get lunch and start to tour the town, The visitor center is a great place to meet friends we hadn't seen in awhile, we sat in the seats under the Museum over looking the court yard and talked for an hour or so. Great town which we want to come back to because it is so relaxing!!
Loved this quaint hotel. Good location to walking around town. Robbie? Assist manager - was professional & efficient - along with lots of detailed info on area. The pool was sparkling clean & refreshing! Pillows & bed super comfy. Breakfast area was immaculate & good selection of items. Angela (employee) worked extremely hard to make breakfast asceticly pleasing. Pride in her work showed. Property was clean & only reason for a 4 - due to entry doors and close to front of street - little noise but slept very well. Overall a super find for a place & would stay again for sure!
Staff very friendly, Comfortable King Bed. Safe environment for single traveler. Restaurants, shops, beautiful water area across the road, great for walking/running, Most things in close proximity to the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that I could rent a bike at the hotel. So I did. I traveled during the Water Festival, and the area was very pedestrian friendly.
Perfect location, loved the pool and the breakfast.....the guy at the front desk needs to be happier upon checking in. Seriously....the pillows were a little uncomfortable and the sheets were not soft but other than that it was a perfect getaway!
Very nicely maintained hotel in the heart of the historic district. This is the only hotel within walking distance of the historic waterfront. The only pool in the historic district. Easy access to shops restaurants and the waterfront. Hotel is two story older (built in the 50s) brick but very well maintained. I know because the staff is knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. The lemon water in the lobby is a welcome treat when returning from an outing during a South Carolina coastal summer. Breakfast is nicely laid out with good variety for a stay lasting several days. Comfortable beds. Easy access to the rooms. The hotel and the area feel very safe.
Hotel was excellent. Right in the heart of the water front. Staff was exceptional. Friendly and helpful. This was our first visit to Beaufort. We really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely go back. Well worth the money.
We thought this hotel was great location, right across from dock, beautiful sunset area. Several restaurants steps away. No beach near. Very clean place, small, quaint. Great staff and excellent breakfast. Hot food, large variety. Parking can get tight if the place gets full. Excellent stay, would recommend!!!
The location is perfect, the breakfast is really good, the rooms are lovely and clean. Everyone we encountered was professional, helpful and positive. All in all, this was a very positive experience. The only suggestion I have is the addition of two comfortable arm chairs in the room. The ones there now aren't all that comfortable. The beds, however, are very comfortable.
Stayed here on two separate occasions in the past week. Overall the rooms were clean and comfortable. The AC works good but is a little noisy. Beds and pillows were comfy. Bathroom was a bit tight as well as the small counter outside of bathroom, but this is largely due to the hotel's age and design. Big plus for the hotel's great downtown location, complimentary beach pass, free breakfast and pleasant staff.
Great location in walking distance to all the local historical sites. Good parking, room was adequate and clean, AC unit was loud, and bathroom small. Service was good. Everyone was very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good--we always love making the big waffles, plus there was a great variety of other foods.
Hotel is an older building, but great location. Was clean, staff was friendly. Fitness room tiny. Beds were great, insulation not so much could hear neighbors. They got up at 430 am and made a ton of noise, we could hear all of it! Not hotel's fault, but loud.
great value for the area- information for area was great as well. Perfect location for marine boot camp graduation guest. also within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend this hotel
We had an immaculate room with charming decor. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a minor medical emergency which they handled professionally and efficiently. Breakfast was more than adequate and good quality food. We shall return!
The hotel is right downtown and just across the street from the bay. Everything was within walking distance. The hotel is very quaint. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms aren't particularly large but they had all you need. The beds were very comfortable.
This hotel was cute, clean, and conveniently located near the harbor and all the shops and restaurants. The swimming pool was clean and open late enough to enjoy after dinner. I would definitely come back.
My husband and I came to Beaufort on a 3 night weekend getaway and we were blown away by the friendly and accommodating staff. We were treated as if we were at a small B&B but with all the amenities of a larger inn. We told the folks at the front desk that we were headed to the beach for the day and, before we knew it, they had offered to lend us beach chairs, towels, and a Hunting Island Park Pass. You never expect to get that kind of personal service at a 'chain' hotel. It is quaint, incredible location, and price can't be beat. We can't wait to return.
We found the location, the staff, and the hotel to be "Top-Notch", and were very happy to have stayed there for the first time. In addition, the complimentary breakfasts really started our day very well.
Can't say enough good about Lisa, Buddy and all the staff. Our family convened for our annual reunion in Beaufort and the staff helped with all the details and made each of us very comfortable! Great Location and property! Thanks
Lovely looking, very clean, nice pool, across street from marina & river walk. Wonderful, serve urself breakfast. Waffles, eggs, sausage pastries, fruit, sausage gravey & biscuts, a whole lot more. I do not want to leave!
I'm selfishly hesitant to give a review because I don't want the word to spread too much about this jewel of a hotel. It's older but extremely well maintained. Charming and the location is perfect. The staff is not only helpful, but the even act like the like their jobs. The rooms have always been exceptionally clean. I have stayed here several times and looking forward to my next stay. you are a very short walk to downtown and many great restaurants and shops.
This is a typical hotel stay with a good hot breakfast, coffee in the checkin office area, bikes for rent at $10 a day, pool... I chose it for the location and was not disappointed. A walk across the street and you are at the beginning of the downtown riverfront area with the shops and restaurants and great views.
If ever in Beaufort s.c. you will not regret booking this motel. It is really close to Paris Island you can walk to eateries, shopping etc. The staff here is wonderful the lady at the front desk Eulia was so nice friendly and helpful and the other staff were excellant the rooms are so clean good beds , nice pool just an overall wonderful stay.
Location was great for walking around downtown area. Marina right across the street. We saw several bikes at check-out; wish we had noticed the previous day! Breakfast was nice layout and plenty of seating
My husband and I spent one night here on our way to Hilton Head. Check in was friendly and efficient. As we knew there are no elevators so it was a little tricky getting our heavy suitcases upstairs. The room was small and old and I found the bed uncomfortable. The sink was so low that it was uncomfortable to use (and I am not a tall person). The proximity to the town and waterfront is excellent. Note: when I called the hotel to reserve I was told there was a 2 night minimum stay. I was able to book a single night online.
I have stayed here many times over the years. No matter the time, they always have had a good staff when I visit. Everyone is nice, easy to deal with and relatable. Great location if you are traveling by boat and docked in the marina.
Came to visit the lovely Beaufort on a whim, and called the Best Western from the welcome center. The price was competitve, but what we were the most thrilled about was the location. Right in the middle of things - restaurants, walking by the water, historic sites...truly amazing. Staff was very friendly - from Lisa on the phone, to Buddy at the front desk, to the housekeeping staff. Hotel was clean, beds comfy, breakfast good and hearty. All in all a great experience.
First of all do not go through a online booking to book this place. Went through kayak, who went through hotels.com. Messed my reservation up. The hotel could not fix that reservation but gave me a free up grade to bay front room. The hotel is older but has so much charm. The rooms smell very nice and clean and fresh. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A very lovely time and I can not wait to go back!
I was very happy with our stay at the Inn. Parking was near our room and easily accessible. Beautiful location across from the bay and close to Parris Island where we attended Marine graduation. The room was immaculate and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helped out whenever we had a question. After inquiring at the front desk about the closest beach, I was provided with a parking pass for Hunting State Park and was able to take my daughter to the beach where she was able to see her first view of the ocean. I have no complaints and I would definitely choose this as the place to stay should we be back in South Carolina in the future.
This hotel is so well-located in the historic district - across the highway from the Chambers Waterfront Park and an easy walk to Downtown stores and restaurants, historic churches, and streets lined with live oaks and beautiful antebellum homes. Also has quick and easy access to the highways for visiting the sea islands. Rooms are large and well-appointed; breakfast, in a sunny room in an adjacent building (or outside at umbrella-shaded tables) offers a good selection and is well-stocked even for late arrivals. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, with info about places not always highlighted in the guide books. The pool area is attractive, private, and very pretty. An excellent choice for our visit to Beaufort.
We drove into town on our way home from Williamsburg because we had heard about Beaufort 32 years ago- we finally made it! The Best Western was smack in the middle of the historic district, across from the marina and the hotel looked as good as the homes around us. I'm a Hilton Hotel fan and I have to say that this place ranked right up there.
We have stayed at this Best Western four years in a row. It is always clean. The employees always go out of their way to make sure you have every thing you need. I would totally recommend this Best Western.
Room clean and comfortable. Staff were was helpful and willing to prove they value me as a guest. All of our request were met with smiles and were made to feel like welcome guest. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Our beds were quite comfortable. All staff members were friendly and helpful. The location was so convenient. You get free breakfast that included eggs, biscuits, sausage and potatoes as well as the normal cold offerings. We walked all around town and felt totally safe.
I cannot say enough good things about the Best Western Sea Island Inn. EXCELLENT customer service. From the time we were greeted by the gentleman at the front desk when we arrived late afternoon, to the check out on Sunday, the lodging experience was very, very nice. This is an older motel that has so much charm. The room was clean and cozy and had the basic amenities. The breakfast was awesome. There was sausage, hash browns, eggs and the fruit and cereal type items if you like lighter fare. I was full! I had a nice view with the oak trees and the marina across the street. My room faced the main street (Bay Street). There are plenty places to shop and eat that are easily within walking distance. The hotel also has bicycles to rent at a nominal price. You can also catch the horse and buggy rides across the street for a historic tour of the downtown. Everyone was in a festive, yet respectful of neighbors mood, as this was a Marine base graduation weekend. Also, the front desk has many suggestions about the local events and things to do in Beaufort. For example there was a historic, Spanish galleon available to tour and a community gathering in nearby Port Royal that was recommended. The experience was very family oriented and nice with local vendors and music bands. I will DEFINITELY stay here on my return visit this summer.
My daughter, her fiancé, and I spent a Sunday night here to meet with the caterer and wedding planner for their wedding in Beaufort in October. This old-timey, motel is perfectly situated across the street from the marina, public water-front park and just a block from downtown Beaufort. This is a great value for the price.
Stay in the city. This resort under major construction I think. Lots of construction materials all around but no workers. Dry cleaning service horrible. You are on the wharf looking at the city of charleston but must take van into city. Not very convenient when you can find plenty of rooms in town.
This is a lovely hotel in a lovely location. Some rooms have view of the river while others have views of fab houses at the back. Carriage tours pass by. Hotel appears quite new and is very well looked after. Standard is high and staff seem to take a pride in it. It's right by Downtown and close to bars, restaurants, shops etc. Riverwalk is just over the road. Rooms are spacious and have all amenities. Would stay there again if we were in Beaufort.
Impeccably located on Bay Street, the main drag of one of the Southeast's most delightful small cities, this comfortable, immaculately kept inn is, in one direction, a few steps away from a bucolic water side park with old live oaks, and in the other direction, mere steps from an array of curio shops, galleries, appealing taverns and at least two or three excellent restaurants. Park your car and stroll. Other than a pricey B&B nearby, it is the only inn to inhabit Bay Street, and by far the best value. The portals to the beautiful neighborhoods and gardens of residential Beaufort are less than three minutes away on foot.
We were in Beaufort for a wedding, and our friend (the bride) booked this hotel for us because of its location. It is in just the right spot for shopping in the shops and walking the riverfront. What an amazing breakfast! Such a large variety that it was difficult to make choices, and it was delicious! The room and bathroom were spotless...the most important thing when traveling! The staff members were friendly and efficient. I will be staying here again on future trips to Beaufort.
A perfect location in Beaufort SC for walking around the historic town and visiting shops and restaurants. It's right across from the town marina. The staff was very friendly and helpful about inquiries regarding restaurants and other questions. The pool was quiet and relaxing. We stayed four nights and it was a very positive experience.
I would highly recommend this hotel ! Everyone from the maintenance guy (who adjusted my wife's bike seat ) to the front desk staff, and especially the cleaning staff, made a great weekend. Coming from Charleston, I find the beauty of the Beaufort area amazing. This hotel will not disappoint !. Do yourself a favor and stay with these guys for an unforgettable stay !
Attended the Marine graduation in Parris Island and selected this hotel in Beaufort. It's just a short drive to the Marine base. All were very accommodating, even offering breakfast at 5:30 so we wouldn't miss the motivational run which is not to be missed. Breakfast was plentiful. They even gave us a packet explaining what to expect each day at the base. It is situated along a beautiful waterway with wonderful restaurants where you can eat outside and enjoy the beautiful view. The town itself is very quaint. We had a terrific stay and we certainly picked the perfect place to stay.
If you want to explore historic downtown Beaufort, this is a great place to stay. It's located right on the main street, across from the water. It is a vintage style motel with 2 stories and exterior porch walkways. The pool, rooms, grounds and common areas are in excellent condition, the parking is convenient, the staff is smart and efficient and the complimentary breakfast is ample, fresh and served with good coffee. The guest rooms are decorated in fresh, updated, southern preppy style and very clean. My stay spanned a Monday and I noticed a crew steam cleaning the carpets and flipping mattresses in several rooms in what looked to be a regular maintenance regime. The wifi worked well, there are bikes you can use to ride around the downtown and good choices for dining within walking distance. There is a promenade walk and park along the waterway right across the street. I would certainly stay there again and I do recommend it.
We found this excellent motel very clean and comfortable, and in an excellent location from which to walk all around Beaufort, SC. Just across the street from the Marina and at the edge of the old neighborhood...the place you probably want to visit when you're in Beaufort. Helpful staff, etc. And an excellent buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, breads/bagels you can toast, etc.
This Best Western is a super location for visiting Beaufort, SC. It is within walking distance in the historic district and has the flavor of the SC location. It is an older motel and the rooms are smaller than most new motels, but it is well-maintained and the staff is super. Would definitely go back there again.
This was our first visit to Beaufort, and this place was close to good restaurants and the beautiful harbour. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, however the bathroom was very small, but we were only two in the room so it was all ok. I think that this is the best choice for a visit to Beaufort, unless you spend bigger bucks and stay in one of the beautiful B&B's in town.
Great Staff; Location close to all attractions; Clean; Park at door to room; Modern facilities; Good breakfast; Made to feel welcome; Reasonable price. Pleasant surprise for a motel in a small town. Best place to stay in Beaufort,
Friendly staff and perfect location across from the waterfront. Very old property and smaller rooms than some hotels but clean and convenient. Great breakfast variety and it is included in room price. No elevator for second floor. Nice pool area too.
Old building, great shape. Super location in the Historic District. Walking distance to most sites. Located next to the marina. Rooms updated-comfortable. Normally don't like hotels that don't have a lobby with all room doors on the inside, but this one is in a nice area.
The staff was very helpful, from room reservation to hints of what to see and do. Older property with no elevator. Room very good. Breakfast excellent, one of the best we have had at a hotel. Good parking. Great location for historical down town.
Location was great!!!! Staff was EXCELLENT!!!!!! Full Hot Continental Breakfast was great!!!!!!! Room clean and housekeepers were very good!!!!!!!!!! Safe in room was appreciated!!! Saw only one handicap parking space-feel need more.
Lovely professional staff. Generous breakfast in lovely room. Will not review at this time due to my /discomfort /unhappiness with relaxed smoking policy despite property being advertised as non-smoking hotel.
We brought our family including grand children to attend US Marine boot camp graduation of our grandson. We are very appreciative of the support for our Marine families. Highly recommend this hotel. The location is just a short ride to Parris Island and the attention by the staff is excellent
Basic hotel in great location. Very neat and clean, inside and out. Efficient and accommodating staff. Thursdays and Fridays they are usually full with families of marines in town for Parris Island boot camp graduation.
Room 144, looking at antebellum homes across the street. Very clean room & bathroom, good wifi & plugs for charging. Room not at all cramped. Excellent location, walkable to stores, shops, historical homes. Only 2 negatives: the bathroom sink/counter was extremely low and the lighting in the room could be brighter. We would definitely stay there again. .
The convenient walking-distance location in the historic downtown makes this facility unique compared to similar hotels in the area which are not within walking distance, with the exception of bed and breakfast operations. Being within waking distance of several great restaurants is a real plus.
Stayed at this lovely property earlier this week for a girl's trip. The location is perfect for getting around the historic area of Beaufort with easy walking distance to the waterfront, restaurants, and shops. The property was very clean. Kudos to the housekeeping staff for keeping things sparkling. Our stay was perfect!
Such a cute and charming hotel in a great location! We were steps away from restaurants, bars, and cute little shops. It's also very close to the water and near a cute historic district. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Came upon this motel while traveling south from Boston to Delray Beach. We liked it so much that we decided to stop in on our trip north as well. Great location in downtown Beaufort, comfortable, clean room, and a hot breakfast. It has a little swimming pool and a function room but did not use either of those. The guests next door to us were noisy when they arrived home at 2:00 AM, but that is spring-break for you. Bob at the front desk was friendly both times. Love the hot breakfast and breakfast room, with outside tables overlooking the road and the boats. Maybe they have bikes to use too. I saw a rack full of cruisers.
I don't think I've ever stayed at a Best Western, but the character and staff of this hotel is pretty much the same as a boutique hotel you'd get in any resort town. Really cool old building right on the water. We stayed in room 214 and had lovely water views. Great location within walking distance to all the shops and dining on Bay St.. Free parking, pool, decent free breakfast, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or nicer!
We stayed one night on way back from Florida. Our room faced the bay (second floor), and it was nice sitting on the bench outside to enjoy the scenery. Note that the rooms in the front (ours was 214, same as a previous review) do not have windows looking out towards the bay as the bathroom was in the front and windows looked out in the back over the parking lot but also viewing some historic buildings and Spanish moss. The room was pleasant and clean but overall more like a 2 star (or 2 1/2 star) than a 3 star. Call the hotel direct to get the best room. Pricing is reasonable considering the location and competitive with other hotels in the area, but Beaufort is on the pricey side considering that it is not a large city and only one home is open for tours. You're paying for the ambiance and peacefulness although traffic can be heavy on the main streets. Also see my review on Emily's.
Older hotel but remodeled and kept pristine. Perfect location for activities in Beaufort. Staff helpful with sightseeing and getting around town. Breakfastt was standard for an included one. The one complaint was that the hot food was at best tepid, and dinnerware the thinnest plastic you can buy. You have to eat very carefully or it will break.
Good room, clean, good facilities, able to sit on the bench outside and admire the harbour with drink in hand Room 214. Walking distance to town. Very friendly and helpful staff, plenty of free coffee bottled water and cookies. Breakfast good too.
This is THE place to stay in Beaufort! Staff was friendly and helpful, beds were comfortable, room was adorable, breakfast was great. The location cannot be beaten. It is within easy walking distance to downtown and the waterfront. We will definitely stay here again.
Great city, great staff, impromptu stay because of heavy rain--glad we had to stop over --will use this hotel for a vacation in the future. The check in /out staff was energetic and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent.
Great Location, Walking distance to everything. Very Helpful Staff . Nice pool. Would stay here again...anyone attending a Marine Graduation this is the place for you. Beautiful Town. Easy in and easy out ! Carriage rides across the street.
Lovely, quaint, building. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Everything in working order. Beautiful location near the water and historic downtown area. Friendly, and super helpful staff. Fresh, filling breakfast with great selection of food.
My family recently stayed here and we were impressed with how pleasant the staff was and how clean the rooms were. The location is perfect for enjoying beautiful downtown Beaufort, and the view is second to none. I give this one an A+!
This hotel and staff were amazing! Linda, Buddy and Tia went above and beyond with customer service. I recommend this hotel to any folks, especially those in town for USMC graduation. They offer "insiders" knowledge of travel, efficient timing, dining suggestions, and hospitality for new Marines; even after check out time. I would stay here again and strongly suggest this establishment to any and all! Thanks again!
Compact but lovely room, great breakfast, great location, water view. Beaufort is a great place to see between Charleston and Savannah. Wish we had budgeted 2 nights. Hotel staff was very helpful. Even lent us pass to Hunting Island State Park when we asked for directions, Excellent breakfast.
This Best Western Sea Island Inn is at a great location, right in downtown Beaufort. The Inn was no-frills, but clean and well kept. The breakfast bar was terrific, with a wide variety of options to choose from.
My husband and I came to Beaufort for a quick get away and we just loved the Best Western Sea Island Inn!!!! It was right across from the water with a beautiful view from the front of the hotel. We really loved being so close to the little shops too- so much to see! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from check-in to check-out. The lady in charge of breakfast really cared about the food that she prepared and it was very good! I was also impressed by the little extra touches in the room, like bottles of water for our fridge and a bowl of hard candy to munch on! It was a great stay and we will be back!!
Stayed here for my daughter's graduation from MCRD. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and I liked how they started it early for Family day and Graduation day.
The Best Western Sea Island Inn is THE PLACE to stay in downtown Beaufort....on Bay Street (main street) less than a block to shopping and dining in the historic downtown and from the waterfront and within the historic district filled with pre civil war era homes makes it the ideal location. And, with very nice rooms, a complimentary breakfast and a staff that is there to serve, this facility is top notch.
This was our first visit to Beaufort. We chose the Best Western for its location, it did not disappoint. I was one block from the historic downtown and the waterfront park. Our room was large and beautifully decorated. The staff was extremely helpful. They made sure all our needs were met. In conclusion, the location, could not be beat easy to get to, you can walk everywhere. If you want to guarantee a hassle free stay in Beaufort, SC, do yourself a favor and book your stay at the Best Western Sea Island Inn.
The architecture of the property fit in with the historic district. Parking was able to handle my full length dually. The staff was extremely and sincerely happy which just lifted your spirits after a hard day of travel.
This hotel is located right on Bay Street in downtown Beaufort, near Parris Island and MCAS, Port Royal and just a short drive to Hunting Island State Park. WE had a front-facing room, where we could sit on the little balcony and watch the goings-on in the village. The breakfast was delicious, hot and convenient. Our room was clean, with a nice homey decor and convenient onsite parking. We will be definitely staying here again. The only drawback is that there was no onsite laundry that we could see. There is a pool, and it's convenient to restaurants, a bank and the waterfront.
Great! Quaint property in the center of historic district. Everything is within easy walking distance. Great weekend getaway. BW staff is wonderful and little Beaufort, SC is a picture book of history, Horse and Buggy is right across the street. Property is right on the waterfront.
My family and I were in town for my oldest son's Marine Corps graduation. Several things drew me to this hotel. The first was that it was recommended in several facebook groups for Marine Moms, the second they gave a discount if you were there for a USMC graduation. Third, they were in a great location, I wanted to be near the historic district so we could walk and see some of the wonderful historic homes. The last reason was the great reviews here on tripadvisor. The price was very reasonable, the staff super friendly. I stayed with my husband and 16 year old son. We had plenty of room, the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I'm very picky about what I consider clean, I looked over the room before taking in our luggage and I didn't have any concerns. The breakfast (free) was nice. Something for everyone, hot and cold offerings. The down side I found, which the hotel can't really do anything about, was the children running and jumping around in the room above us. Luckily they settled down before we decided to go to sleep. 4:30 am comes quickly and I needed all the sleep I could get. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Best Western Imo it was a little over priced I payed $10 less at the city loft hotel the next night and it blew awesome this best Western. The hotel bath room seemed dirty. ..the girl at the front desk was very sweet though and very cute :)
We chose this Inn based on reviews and were not disappointed. The young lady at the check in desk both evenings was extremely helpful and courteous...probably the sweetest we have ever seen in many years of travel. The location was perfect for a leisure walk along the waterfront or leisurely stroll through town. Restaurants were lovely. Overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this Inn.
we enjoyed everything about this place, great location, beautiful surroundings, we loved the walk around the blocks viewing the great houses, easy access to everything, I even said I would love to move to this place
Spent one night along with another couple in 2 rooms; motel gave us connecting rooms which was great for watching the Super Bowl together. Motel was well kept, attractive, had very comfortable beds and located within easy walk to restaurants and shops. Nicest Best Western motel we have stayed in and certainly would recommend to others and would stay there again when in the area.
The room was well maintained and the beds are comfy. The hotel staff was super. They gave us a packet of information about graduation and had directions for anywhere you wanted to go. Even better, they arranged for a late checkout so my Marine could take her first long hot shower in 3 months. They are very sensitive to their guests needs. It is the only outdoor access hotel I would ever consider staying at again.
All staff members were very pleasant and helpful. Hotel has charming appearance and water view across the street. One block walk to shops and restaurants. Very good breakfast. Lots of nice amenities like umbrellas and bicycles.
We were passing through on a trip from New England to southern Florida. Last minute booking and it was just right. Within walking distance to the water and downtown restaurants. Comfortable room and a surprisingly nice little breakfast.
We stayed at the best western sea island inn while attending a USMC graduation in Parris Island and what an excellent experience. Beautiful setting in a nice neighborhood, close to everything you need, the room was very clean and nice, and the staff was top notch. My daughter was sick and everyone was so understanding and helpful. Can't say enough about this place!
My daughter and I spent a wonderful and fun weekend in Beaufort at the BW Sea Island Inn. The room was lovely, beds were comfortable, nice fluffy bath linens and the daily maid service was exceptional! The breakfast was full of many choices both hot and cold and the coffee was great!! Location is perfect to visit the historic district as it is all within walking distance and the walk along the Bay is a nice way to begin or end the day. The office folks were friendly and helpful, so all in all a perfect place to stay!!
After checking around on hotels, we decided on the Best Western in Beaufort , South Carolina. The price with our HOG discount was the deciding factor. When we arrived the lady at the check in desk was great. She knew we were coming in for our son's graduation and gave us all the info we needed. The stay was great . Perfect location in the historic district and very close to Parris Island. We highly recommend.
A wonderful Best Western. Sandwiched between a lovely bay and gorgeous southern homes. Plus you are steps away from an artsy southern charm main street. Staff was beyond pleasant. Room was top tier for a Best Western. Well maintained. You will leave with a smile on your face. This is a hotelier that understands how to make an excellent customer experience.
My overnight stay at the Best Western Sea Island Inn was a warm and friendly beginning to my trip from Washington, DC to attend my grandson's graduation from the Parris island USMCRD. The star was friendly and gracious and especially helpful on the phone when I was planning my trip. The breakfast that the Inn provides its guests was a great beginning to a most memorable Marine Corps moment.
fabulous time and this inn was great. Very clean, breakfast was amazing. We enjoyed our stay in this town. So much to see and do. Lots of dirt roads to explore and historic sites. Coastal waters are beautiful even in the rain and wind.
I arrived as a wedding guest. This establishment was recommended by the bride and groom. It was 2 block away from the church service and 3 block away from the wedding reception. The water was across from the hotel. The staff was very accommodating. I requested directions to the church and reception and was provided a nice walking map. The front desk was extreemly helpful in suggesting local merchants during my short stay. The room was very clean and updated with comforts of the south. The bed was extreemly comfortable. The weather was unusually cold but the room heating system was excellent. It was very convenient having a small fridge and microwave in my room. Highly recommended if ever in the Beaufort , SC area.
My family of 4 visited Beaufort this past weekend & stayed 2 nights at the Sea Island Inn. The location was perfect! You can walk to restaurants and tour the historic district. We stayed in a bottom floor double room. The room was very clean & the beds were comfortable. The small refrigerator & microwave came in handy. The only downside was that the room was a little small for a family of 4, but this was a minor issue. The staff was excellent & tended to our needs. The free breakfast was a little more food than a continental, but good & fresh. The tables & room were very clean. When we return to Beaufort we will be staying here again!
My husband and I were looking for a hotel within walking distance of the restaurants and shops in downtown Beaufort. Best Western Sea Island Inn was the most convenient and reasonably price place to stay. The hotel is older, but very well maintained and updated. The hotel clerk was very helpful and friendly. The room, with a king bed, was very clean, roomy and comfortable. Everything you could need was there in the room. But there were some very nice touches made this hotel extra special, two complementary bottles of water and jar of hard candy. What great ideas! I would definitely recommend Best Western and would stay here again.
The bed was comfortable and pillow assortment was good. Our room was ground floor corner and was reasonably quiet and free of traffic noise. Someone mentioned an omelet station, but it was not an omelet station with someone making fresh to order omelets. Rather it was probably instant eggs with cheese in the fold. However, that said, they weren't bad. Both turkey and pork sausage was offered along with great coffee, biscuits, muffins, fresh fruit, assorted juices, yogurt, pancakes, and a variety of oatmeals. It was clean, well stocked, and tables were wiped. Great breakfast considering it was free! We loved the location as it was well within walking distance to the historical district, so our car remained parked 90% of the time. We would return with no reservations.
Great place to stay when visiting Paris Island Marine Base, Minutes away from the base and plenty of places to eat with in walking distance....This was our first time staying at the Seal Island Inn and very glad we did.and when we come back to Beaufort SC it will be the first place we call.
excellent choice to stay if travelling on I-95. Could not find a place to pullover late on a sat night and had a carload full and wanted to stay in a safe area. All other reviews in the area did not look good but this Best western was an excellent choice. Although it is 20 miles off 95, it was not a big deal. The price was about $135/nt but worth every penny.
We decided to drive to Beaufort for the day from Savannah and really enjoyed the quaint and beautiful riverfront on Bay St. The motel is located on Bay St. and was immaculate and quiet. It was very nicely decorated and I was impressed. I don't usually stay in motels and was kind of apprehensive about staying as soon as it was booked, but this motel was NICE and I would DEFINITELY stay again!
This hotel was fantastic from the front desk clerk to the beautiful little town that is surrounded in.the room was clean and spacious enough.strolling in this beautiful little town was great. Bob @front desk was kind and so pleasant.
If you are traveling to see your Marine graduate this is the hotel for you. They offer a great breakfast and make sure that you are never late for your day event to see your Marine. There are restaurant's within walking distance of the hotel that have great food!
The folks at Sea Island Inn go out of their way to assure that guests have an outstanding visit. Rooms are quiet, clean, with 'fridge, microwave, good in-room coffee. It's in town, so you can park your car at the hotel and walk to everything in charming downtown Beaufort. There's always coffee and tasty cookies available in the reception area. Breakfast is in a separate building (where you can sit outside in nice weather) and breakfast is very good, with a large selection including omelets. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The staff was very kind and helpful, both when I spoke to them in advance and when I was on property. Rose, at the front desk, in particular was helpful in guiding us to the local hospital when someone in our party needed to go to the emergency room. I appreciated the packet given to me with information about the graduation ceremonies at Parris Island, as my niece was graduating that week. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good.
If you are headed to Parris Island to pick up your Marine, this is the place to go. Great support for out-of-towners trying to navigate a military base experience. Also well located near quaint Beaufort's shops and restaurants...many within 5 minutes walking distance. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful and polite.
Was a little weary at first due to the outside of hotel, a little deceiving but very satisfied. Usually stay at upscale hotels, but would definitely stay here again, over other hotels in the area. Clean, great location....
We stayed a Friday and Saturday night in this almost "waterfront" motel style inn. The staff were at all times helpful and friendly and even though we didn't arrive until 1am on the first night we were warmly greeted. I liked the situation of our room on the second floor overlooking a quiet street at the back of the hotel. The good things end there. The room was spacious but dark and at all times we needed lights on. It was also poorly ventilated with only one openable window. Friday night was generally quiet but during the evening we could hear other guests toilets flushing - they we really loud - and on the Saturday night we were woken at 3am by noisy next door guests returning from an event. We asked for help from the night reception to little avail - the TV and loud talking kept us awake for 2 hours. Breakfast was self serve on disposable plates and was average and the internet was complimentary and fast. Sadly I'll remember this stay for the noise and poor sleep we endured and would be reluctant to recommend a stay here.
Nice location, with view of waterfront, river and marshes (not from rooms, but from breakfast area) walkable to shops and restaurants on Bay Street room with two queens was quite spacious staff very courteous and friendly
I stayed at the Best Western Sea Island for a friend's wedding. The hotel is located right in the historic center of the city and all the best restaurants are within walking distance. The room was spacious and very comfortable and was very clean. The room had in room coffee, bottled water, a refrigerator and a microwave oven. The breakfast room had a very good breakfast and I highly recommend the waffles. Though the rooms do not have much of a view, the location can't be beat.
We stayed for 5 nights here in town across from the marina that is on the inland waterway. The location is scenic, close to the highlights of the city-historical district, art galleries, and the water (we walked everywhere); had to use our car very little.- there was a surry/bike rental nearby and we only used our car for island exploration and to go to a restaurant for dinner a couple times. The breakfast bar was more than adequate-it was like a large breakfast that served as brunch for us and we only needed one other meal a day. The staff at the hotel were very accomodating to us and our wheel chair bound family member-get the handicap room for that type of need.
This is a nice hotel just a walk from downtown. Price compared to other hotels in the area. It is just across from the Bay which is nice and seems like a very safe area. We were her for Marine graduation.
Clean with Comfortable beds. We got a "room with a view", the view was trees and the roof top of the office. The bathroom was really small. The breakfast was good and staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay again.
This Best Western motel is located right across the street from the bay and water front in Beaufort, SC. Easy walk to downtown and water front park. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was good and plentiful. Definitely would stay there again.
I have stayed here before and it has always been a great stay, with a wonderful location that makes almost any downtown venue walkable. Located near historic homes built in the 1700's and a short block from shopping and dinning. I have been lucky to get a 2nd floor room overlooking the street, the docks and the bay. Beautiful! Rooms are above average and staff has always been great. I'll be back.
Located in historic downtown Beaufort across the street from the water. A very nice hotel even though it is older. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was a very good selection. Walkable to the downtown are and the docks. Trust me you will like it.
Nicely kept, great location in the amazing town of Beaufort. We stayed here two nights and had not one complaint! Beautiful, especially considering the price. Breakfast was great, we sat outside and watched the sunset. I would highly recommend!
We decided to stay at the Best Western Sea Island Inn because of its proximity to the waterfront and its great reviews on Trip Advisor. Though nothing fancy, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were given a first floor room at the back of the property, just across the street from the Rhett House Inn. The room was quiet and, although the door opened to the parking lot, we felt safe. A nice complimentary breakfast was served in a large and cheery room across from the lobby. It was nice to have more space than one usually encounters in hotel breakfast areas. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay here again if we are ever lucky enough to revisit beautiful Beaufort.
We stayed here 2 nights before moving across the street to the Rhett House. After the 4 nights in Beaufort, we had serious remorse for leaving the Sea Island Inn. This motel is run like a tight ship, with precision, & high standards. You are handed brochures & maps going in, and on checkout, handed more for your next destination. The room was nicely decorated with everything in working order; and quite clean. Breakfast is served in an auxiliary room that provided whole fresh fruit, an egg omelette, a protein, make your own waffles, & yogurt, plus all the general choices. Not exactly like home but does the job just fine. The building is brick, so I can't imaging being bothered by traffic unless it was totally booked. Directly across the street is the location to pick up a carriage ride or in season boat trips. If the world was supplied with Sea Island Inns of this caliber, traveling would be a much nicer experience. Thank you!
I have stayed at the Best Western Sea Island Inn for several years on this business trip. The staff and the hotel is great. They are always helpful and the hotel is very clean. It's very easy to walk uptown to several locations to eat and there are many specialty shops. I would highly recommend this hotel for Business meetings and for pleasure trips.
Our family just attended my grandson's Marine graduation in Parris Island, SC and stayed at the Best Western Sea Island Inn in Beaufort, SC. We all agreed we could not have chosen a better hotel for our 2-night stay in beautiful Beaufort. Not only did we receive a Marine family discount, but hotel management put together a packet for us with an itinerary for Family Day and recommended times of departure from the hotel for the Moto Run on Thurs. and graduation on Fri. The continental breakfast was amazing. Not just your typical coffee, juice, cereal & danish, but all of that and so much more... waffles, sausage, omelets, yogurt, fresh fruits, biscuits-n-gravy, WOW!!! Also, being so close to the base took so much pressure off of our family being on time for these very important events. I highly recommend this hotel:)
We had to book this hotel in an emergency. Rosie was the best!! She went out of her way to get us settled. Service was fast, room clean, quiet, comfy beds! Free breakfast! It is not just donuts..they have make your own waffles,omlettes..it's the real deal!! I highly recommend this hotel. M.Taggett
I chose the Best Western Sea Island Inn for the location near the waterfront park and was delighted with the whole experience. I had great conversations with the staff and got good tips about exploring the Beaufort area. And I loved my room - second floor balcony; good amenities (wifi, desk, microwave, fridge) and comfortable bed. And as I hoped, it was easy to take a short walk in the waterfront park every morning and then back for breakfast. Just what I wanted!
This hotel is located downtown historic Beaufort. Just a block from wonderful waterfront restaurants and shops. Room is clean and a quiet location. Make sure you do not walk the riverfront after dark for security reasons we were told by our friends that live here
Great place to stay. Courteous staff. VERY convenient to great restaurants and beautiful views. Small quiet hotel. Breakfast area was very nice and roomy. Usually very tight spaces in the "free" breakfast areas, but not in this case. Clean, comfortable room.
We were lucky enough to get the last room so that we could stay and continue to enjoy Beaufort, SC for the first time. The location is great, looking out on the marina park and steps from popular Bay Street. The rooms were clean and larger then many other hotels. The staff was friendly and offered to help us with our minimal luggage. We were told it was the first hotel in the area and it is a great jumping off point to explore the historic district on foot.
No complaints just not 5 star. Nice property. Very accommodating for a short stay. Close to everything. Good sized room. Would recommend and stay there again. There is a pool too. Free breakfast in morning was nice and the veranda off of it overlooking the bay is quaint.
We enjoyed our visit in Beaufort, SC. This small hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Clean & Lovely rooms. We have stayed here many times. Our view of the ICW was great. Watched the boats going by. Our breakfast was good too. We will be back.
Decided when coming to my sons graduation to stay off the main strip so I could enjoy the charm of Beaufort. The location was excellent directly across from the water and I could walk to restaurants and great shops. The hotel is very clean and the staff is excellent. Breakfast opened early to accommodate the graduation schedule. Surrounded by beautiful homes gave it the feel of being at a B&B. Easy fast access to Parris Island.
We were very pleasantly surprised by this Best Western Property. It looked like a brand new hotel yet has operated for many years. It is right across from the beach and pier and just at the end of the main street of Beauford. It was so incredibly clean and very comfortable with lovely little touches like LifeSavers candies in a pretty dish in the room. The breakfast was very nice, coffee good and also available all through the day in reception along with tea, cookies and candies. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again if we go back for another visit. Great location.
We always stay at the Sea Island Inn when visiting Beaufort, SC. The service is great. Location, location, location!!! If you look out back from the motel, you see historic homes. If you look across the street, you see the marina. The waterpark is nice and we love to sit in the swings and watch for dolphins. The town of Beaufort is just a few steps away from the motel. Across the bridge is the best seafood at DOCKSIDE. (Get the shrimp-n-grits). The beach and Hunting Island State Park is a few miles away, but worth the drive. We learned all this information from the staff at the Best Western Sea Island Inn and they were right!
This is an excellent location and price for people like me who are weirded out by B&B lodging. B/c there is no shortage of pricey B&Bs in Beaufort. And most of the other hotels/motels are located well outside of walking distance north of town. This place is located right on the marina within easy walking distance of some of Beaufort's best restaurants, shopping, and historic homes. My wife and I had to tack on an extra day after Charleston got pummeled by bad weather and the reservation was made seamlessly over the phone. Buddy at the front desk was extremely helpful upon check in with maps and dining recommendations. Per my other reviews, I did not partake in the pool or exercise facilities so I cannot comment. Room was what you would expect for an older facility. Bed was comfortable, hot water, clean, and had a fridge and microwave (for some reason I like having both). The other big selling point was the above average complimentary breakfast--not just the usual scrambled egss, etc but they had potatoes with bits of sausage one morning, actually good biscuits and gravy the next. Drawback was there was that hint of that older motel smell either coming from A/C or carpet. And there was some street noise from idiots blaring their stereos while driving by but this ceased around 10PM--our room was on the wing facing Bay St. I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend this to others with similar preferences.
This hotel was amazing, they had a indoor pool, a bar and your get free breakfast. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely come back if im ever in beaufort again. The location was perfect and close to the highway.
This hotel is in an excellent location if the traveler loves being near the water as well as retail stores. The rooms were very clean, smelled good, and the beds were so comfortable. I have nothing but good to say.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Accommodations were comfortable and pleasant and location excellent. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of hot and cold items. Only problem my husband and I had was haviing to take a room on second floor with no elevator. But otherwise we would stay again if first floor.
Hospitable staff , located perfectly in town across the street from the beautiful park and marina. Night supervisor made me a cup of tea each night after my dinner and walk. good suggestions on where to eat and shop
Beautful place, extremely nice town and friendly people, not only at the Best Western but overall. The room was adequate and clean, however if you need an electrical outlet in the bathroom, ask for a room other than 103. It is the only one without an outlet in the bathroom. It is the first room on the block and just a few yards from that unbelievable waterfront park, so it was fine. A bit pricey for us, but the location could not be beat.
Top location and a facility which tries a lot harder than most chain operations. Large, clean, well serviced room and lots of nice little touches including helpful guides to local buildings and the area. Breakfast is pretty much what you expect in this type of operation but that's not a complaint. I was surprised to be allocated a room at the back, right on the street side, given my card status and the that we had a three night stay booked over nine months ago. Changed upon request to a room facing the sea but should I really have had to ask?
