« Perfect for my company »

Nice Rooms and easily accessible from highway. Proximity to Dysarts truck stop and restaurant is the main reason for staying here. Parking for trucks not an issue. Clerk was extremely helpful with my employees

    « Excellent Stay »

we usually stop by twice a year. It a great place. Lots of clean spacious rooms. They even have theme rooms. Sarah was our hostess on arrival and departure, she is very pleasant and helpful. she offered us cold water on arrival and departure. Thank you! This Best western has one of the the best Best Western Breakfasts in the East.

    « Pet friendly »

I needed a pet friendly hotel and this was a great place. It was clean. The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again. It was easy off and on the interstate and although we didn't interact with many staff members the one I met were great. We ate at Dysarts the truck stop right across the street and the food there was very good.

    « Awesome stay. »

Staff very friendly. Many choices for complimentary breakfast. Property very well kept. First time staying here and will stay here again when we make our trips to Canada. Our dog is quite shy and had no problems.

    « Very nice stay! »

We chose the Best Western White House Inn for our recent stay in Bangor because we needed a dog friendly hotel. We are pleased with our choice and would definitely stay there again! Our room was clean, comfortable, and fairly spacious. Due to the close proximity to the highway, there was the sound of traffic, however we knew that when making the reservation and it didn't impact very much. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the highway as well as to Dysart's restaurant (one of our favorite places to eat while in the area). There was plenty of space to walk our dog outside. We also found the staff we interacted with very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included, however we chose to go to Dysart's instead. Although we didn't eat the breakfast there, it certainly smelled good and, having stayed at Best Westerns in other locations, I knew that the breakfasts are usually very good! We did run into one glitch upon check-in that was easily resolved. Although I had specifically reserved a pet friendly room when reserving our room through the Best Western website (also noting when making the reservation that I would be bringing a dog), an internal error after the reservation had been made had somehow upgraded us to a different, non pet-friendly room without our knowledge. After initially being told at the check-in desk that the room I had reserved online was not pet-friendly, it was soon determined that the error had been on the hotel's end and that I had reserved a pet-friendly room. The gentleman at the check-in desk apologized for their error and allowed us to stay in the room that they had upgraded us to, which was a beautiful room! We greatly appreciate the way that the situation was handled and the hotel's honesty in admitting their mistake! Overall, a very nice stay. We look forward to staying there again on future visits to the Bangor area!

    « Minister's wife »

The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. There is ample parking. It is near the city but far enough away to avoid the noise of the city. It was located very conveniently with respect to the venue where i was attending a conference

« Best breakfast on the road »

We have stayed at the White House before on our way to and from Canada. Always a welcoming stay. Dog especially enjoys walk in open area next to hotel. They have absolutely the best breakfast of any hotel we visit.

« We stay here every year we travel due to its great value! »

Highly Recommend! The rooms are excellent with an Antique and Quaint look. Free breakfast is awesome both in quality and variety. When we arrive in Bangor on our way back from Myrtle Beach , this is an welcome site.

« Even has an expensive espresso machine ! »

From our first impression with Chris who checked us in and was AWESOME, very nice and informative about the area , the room was CLEAN and comfortable! Grounds are kept up and currently updating with new carpet . Love that there are designated parking spots for our ?super hero's? that have served! Nice patriotic touches!

    « Amazing »

I loved the theme, American Presidents and the First Ladies theme for the third floor. The hotlel personnel were lovely individuals and quite helpful in providing places to visit from Bar Harbor to the coastal seashore down to Rockport and more.

« Best Hotel in the Region »

I have been a traveling salesman since 2008 and have stayed at nearly every hotel in the greater Bangor area. The Best Western White House is simply the best one. From the amazing character found throughout the building to the amazing staff, this place checks off every box. The lobby is a great place to relax, the gorgeous pool and massive hot tub are also perfect to relax, plus they have a cozy bar and restaurant on site that is perfect for relaxing in the evening. The staff truly cares about you and all your needs. Beth, Chris and Mo are just a few of the excellent members that make your stay perfect. Breakfast is unparalleled and the room is huge and super pretty with a massive amount of glass windows. The rooms are perfectly sized with plenty of furniture and walking space. The bathroom is super clean and well stocked. And the beds. The beds are some of the most comfortable in all of New England. I LOVE SLEEPING HERE. Haha, its hard to get up and get going: this place is built to sleep in!

    « Comfortable - pet friendly - and affordable »

The White House is a pet-friendly hotel that we use every year as we make our annual trip to the Maritimes, Canada. It is conveniently located for the I-95 and the rooms are extremely comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. The breakfast is better than most - a wide range of hot and cold options, and this year we see that they've added an expresso machine. In all, a wonderful spot that we recommend with enthusiasm.

    5
    « Fantastic Getaway »

We booked the Nautical themed room and it was absolutely amazing!!!! Can't wait to go again! The staff was fantastic and the facility was spotless, we could not have been happier. It was a very peaceful location.

    « Weekend getaway »

The executive part of the hotel has fabulously large rooms that host a room with 2 king size beds and huge bathroom. We have stayed in this room before and the room is adjoining to another large room with another king bed. Makes a great option when traveling with family. Clean and very comfortable. The rooms are very quiet and u never hear the elevator or people running down the halls. The hotel is close to a truck stop with excellent food and room delivery.

    5
    « Bangor »

I have stayed here many times and as usual it was clean and comfortable. Highway noise is definitely more noticeable if you are on the side facing the highway but not bad either way. Good place and definitely convenient for truck drivers!

    « Money well spent! »

The breakfast is always the best bar none of any place we stay! Also extremely clean and well kept rooms. The lady who runs the lounge is always so friendly and makes you feel like a regular. A very safe feeling atmosphere throughout the complex.

    « Maine hospitality »

I flew from Seattle to Bangor, JFK flight to Bangor was delayed 4 hours, so I got to the hotel at 3 a.m. and the gentleman at the front desk was accommodating and oh so nice. Room was so comfy/quiet and they even provided me with extra time to check out given my late arrival time. I appreciate this sort of niceness.

« Excellent stay- can't wait to return and explore the hotel further »

Very nice hotel! It appears to be well maintained in the room and public areas of lobby and breakfast area. We are always a bit leary when booking at a pet friendly hotel as some have a very strong odor to them. This hotel gives no indication of having some pet friendly rooms ( they're are rooms that DO NOT ALLOW PETS, so choose carefully when booking) - the only smell that was noticeable was a medicinal cleaning product smell in the general hallway, which, to me, is a welcome sign of cleanliness. The room was SPOTLESS, not wayward hairs, cobwebs or dust left behind, carpet seemed very clean and no odor at all in our room ( Rm 320). The bathroom seemed a bit tight in space for the toilet and shower- the sink sits independently outside the bathroom which is a plus for our family. The only negative with the room was the angled ceiling which made one side seem very small, it could be difficult for very tall person to stand up without using caution ( my husband is 6'2" and had to use care when standing up from the provided chair next to the fireplace in this area ( I do not believe all rooms are like this- this one is on the 3rd floor and has a skylight and fireplace). The queen beds were comfortable and the linens were crisp and clean, including the top coverlet. It seemed to be a very quiet hotel . It can be a bit deceiving to locate- you drive through a truck stop to what appears to be a very dark, dead end, but alas, there is the hotel sign on the left and you drive back to the hotel in a quiet setting. We did not notice a lot of noise from the truck stop, but we arrived around 11pm and left the next morning by 8 am, for a visit to Husson University which is only a few exits away. The breakfast in the morning was quite substantial, many gluten free items available. They offered many hot options- scrambled eggs, cheese omelet, chicken sausage, corn beef hash, bacon, to name a few. As well as the continental fair of muffins, donuts, bagels, cereal, coffee, juices, yogurt, fruit, etc. Due to our limited time during this stay we didn't get to explore the rest of the facility, but I would expect the rest to be as nice. The gentleman who checked me in was very friendly and pleasant- made me feel at home as soon as I stepped in the front door. As far as your pet is concerned, there are sufficient grassy areas around the hotel to take them out, and it would be secluded enough to walk them during the day from what we observed during this short stay. We will definitely be staying here again if our daughter chooses to go to Husson!!

    « Already planning a return stay »

My husband had already stayed here in January for a business trip and been very impressed, so we decided to stay in one of their suites for a weekend getaway. Once again, very impressed! Check-in was quick, and the gentleman let us know about some of the amenities they offered. Every time we left and returned, if he was not busy, he made sure to greet us. The suite was huge! Comfy bed, large jacuzzi, fireplace, walk in shower, Keurig, microwave and fridge, hair dryer and robes, extra pillows in the closest, massage chair. Everything was immaculate. There was a desk and chair if one needed to have work space and I noticed they also had a work space for business travelers downstairs. It was the weekend, so we went downstairs to the lounge and had a drink. The bartender was attentive and friendly. They offered breakfast, although we didn't partake. The hotel is right behind Dysarts, which offers really filling meals and is open all right. One of the employees told us they also deliver until 10. We were on the third floor and it was super quiet. My husband stayed on the first floor last time and said it was quiet then as well. I feel that if we had needed anything, they would have been very accommodating. We're also planning a return visit. I would highly recommend a stay, whether for business or pleasure!

Everything was awesome. Even with the big storm snow clean up was excellent. We enjoyed the hot breakfast and checkers board in the back lobby. Great location and clean rooms. Will definately be staying again!

    « very nice place »

This is a very interesting place to stay with it's hall of presidents. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was more than comfortable and the rest of the room was spacious and well worth the price for the room

    « Always a great stay! »

I have stayed here many times and never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and cheerful and the rooms are always very clean. Stop down and see Karen at the lounge for a drink or three. Quite possibly the best place I've ever stayed simply for the atmosphere and hospitality.

    4
« Convenient, clean and priced right. »

This hotel is my "go-to: overnight stop when travelling back and forth from Massachusetts to northern Maine. It's right off I95 and behind Dysarts Truck Stop and Restaurant, which is open 24 hours. You can get a nice clean room, with friendly staff and walk to the restaurant for a great meal. The Whit House Inn also serves up a full breakfast buffet in morning. The location is not anything special except for convenience, as it's nestled in a industrial business area. Like I said, we use it as one night layover, so it's great for that when travelling long distances and you need to break up your drive.

    « Interesting inn »

The lobby was very interesting with lots of presidential memorabilia ! The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was great ! We stayed in the winter so no pool :( But the spa was open and the lounge was great for a good thin crust pizza and Kate was awesome. She had so much knowledge of the area and I have a new friend in Maine now !!

    5
    « Always a pleasure »

I stay at this hotel on an average once once a week from Jan thru to May and I have nothing but praise for the staff and facilities. The breakfast is excellent and a very broad selection Kim is a real sweetheart and the rest of the staff are always great to deal with. The only cravat I have is that they could have better window treatments on the sky lights on the 3rd floor as it lets in to much light. I say this as I sometimes get in in early pm and try to sleep as soon as I arrive. Nice touch having the fireplace.

    « Housekeeping issues »

The Inn is conveniently located for the traveler. Very good customer service and a great breakfast. Issues with the room cleanliness knocked down the rating. When reported that a sock was found under the chair and a water bottle jammed in bedside we were given a 20% discount by the front desk.

    5
« One night stay while travelling »

Would definitely stay here again - for extended stays also. Because we were just passing through we only stayed one night and therefore did not take advantage of the lounge, the indoor hot tub, or the fitness room. An older, but very well maintained, quiet and clean hotel. Staff very helpful. Great breakfast buffet,

    5
« Great place to stay if your going to the Waterfront »

We stayed here when we went to a show at the Collins Center and also again when we went to see Rod Stewart at the Waterfront. Clean, ok breakfast, nice little gym and clean spa. Also Dysarts is out back and you wont be sorry you ate there. Rooms are decent and everything was clean and nicely decorated. Free parking

« Not a Best Western Plus?! Why Not! »

I would go out on a limb and say that this was one of our best experiences with Best Western (Best Western Plus) in all the years we've been staying at these properties! The staff, room, and breakfast were all way above and beyond our expectations! As we were only staying one night, we didn't have an opportunity to take advantage of the lounge, the indoor hot tub, or the fitness room. This property is a must if you're going to be staying in the Bangor area! I only wish there was a higher than 5 star rating that I could give this place!!!

    5
    « Great service »

Hotel is clean, quiet, and a very nice staff. Thanks to Kim, Mo, and Chris for all your assistance. First time visit for us. A little further out from the shopping, but not as far as I thought it would be. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

    « Always Pleasant »

All I can say is the breakfast is great, a lot of selection. The coffee machine is always my highlight. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the sleep was good. love the chocolate mints in the room

« Very good hotel, nice added history »

We stayed at the White house inn while visiting U Maine (about 15 minutes or so away). As far as the room goes, it was pretty average, but clean. The beds were very comfortable. The large indoor hot tub was great, and the breakfast definitely had one of the largest varieties that I have seen in hotels of this class. There was also a small bar/lounge downstairs which was a nice feature for a hotel of this type (must be 21 to enter). Each floor had historical pieces or photos which we enjoyed (1 floor was the Presidents, 1 the first ladies, etc). I would definitely return if I were in that area again.

    5
    « A quick get away »

Needed to get away. The staff was friendly, the lobby and room were very nicely decorated and warm! It was nice to just be able to fluff around and relax. Many choices for breakfast. Had to leave a day early because there was a blizzard coming but I would definitely stay here again.

    5
« Awesome place to stay »

A great place to stay, well appointed rooms, fast internet very nice lobby decor. Great breakfast as well. Next to Dysart's for a awesome supper. Will stay there again when we are traveling through Bangor, Maine.

    5
« Great place to stay »

What a great place to stay! Beautiful rooms, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a lot of different selections. The hotel staff was amazing, they did a great job of making me feel welcome and were quick to take care of every need I might have!! This is definitely a hotel I would stay at anytime I am in the Bangor area.

    5
« So many nice people »

We had to make an unexpected stop in a blizzard and we needed a dog-friendly place. The White house Inn accommodated 3 humans and 2 dogs in an emergency situation. the Inn was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will be back.

    5
    « A must stay »

The stuff is wonderful, the rooms are well kept and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is really good and the hotel is very clean and nice. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. I don't stay anywhere else but at the Best Western White House

« Best Western White House »

Excellent place to stay! We stayed in the Romantic Room which is one of there theme rooms and it was gorgeous! So very romantic we loved it. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was so very friendly and nice. We plan on going back for New Years!

    « Always a great stay »

Another great stay this past weekend. Everyone is always so nice and helpful. I can't say it enough how great this place is. So nice to go into a nice clean room and just relax after a long trip. Best beds and pillows. Can't wait to go back again. Thanks again for another great stay,

« Great for the price, I have never been disappointed here »

This hotel is a go to for us as we travel down the 95 into the USA. Bangor is a nice little city, with pretty good shopping and minimal traffic. The Best Western Whitehouse is clean, comfortable and for the price it's a great value. The front desk agent was exceptionally cooperative and helpful, the breakfast that is included in the rate has a good selection, and was stocked well. If this is your price range...stay here!

  • 4
« Returning from the south »

The staff was friendly and polite, the room was comfortable although the mattress was a bit soft and older and the internet worked great. The only thing is the flooring....old and torn rugs... with the age of the building, it does leave a bit of a smell and it does not look good! However, we slept very well and the linen and the towels were just great and the breakfast was bountiful in all manners, variety, quality and the cleanliness of the dining area was remarkable!!!

    5
« Great, affordable place to stay. »

While not as convenient to shopping or other Bangor activities, the 5-10 minute ride is worthwhile. Professional and courteous staff, clean and comfortable rooms and good breakfast included. A lounge is on-site for those who want to unwind from the day's activities. The hot tub or fitness facility are available too.

    3
    « Great Customer Service »

A dated hotel but very attentive staff. the rooms are clean. We had a very strong odor in our room and staff provided another. Besides that it is a cosy place to stay. It was quiet. breakfast was good.

    5
    « Awesome stay-just like family! »

The friendliest people you will ever meet! Nice clean comfortable rooms. Free breakfast buffet, fancy coffee machine! Just like family-front desk, room attendants, staff for breakfast buffet super friendly and genuine hospitality. Recommend them-you will not be displeased here!!

    5
    « Friendly and comfortable »

Just a nice place to stay. The guest room was comfortable. All other hotel areas are also very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hot continental breakfast has multiple choices, enough variety to please both adults and kids.

    4
« Great Hotel, Friendly Staff »

We highly recommend this hotel, staff are extremely friendly. Asked for ground floor room, our request was granted. Nothing but great things to say about interior and exterior; very clean and presentable. Wonderful continental breakfast.

    4
« Very nice looking hotel, not your average BW! »

The hotel looks just like the White House and is decorated with all kinds of presidential memorabilia. There was a great lounge downstairs and the bartender Kate was very entertaining and knew a lot about points of interest in many places, not just Bangor. The room was great, and the beds amazing. There were many plug-ins easily accessible for those with many electronics that need charging. The fact that there was a BATHSHEET instead of just those miserable "bath-towels" was fabulous! I notice that someone mentioned a place close by to eat, Dysarts, but we must have missed it - and that was my only CON on a whole ream of PROS. The hotel is a little out of the way, not really see-able from the highway, but definitely worth it. The breakfast was the best spread I have even seen in a free buffet. Highly recommended.

    5
    « Super hotel »

super clean, nicely decorated, enjoyed the big spa, and the hot buffet breakfast will come back another time for sure! Our attendant Mo was really friendly. The room had all we needed and everything was kept clean. :)

    5
    « Colleen »

Rooms were clean large and breakfast was awesome. Would recommend for sure they have a nice pool area hot tub and close to dysarts if you want cheap home cooked food. It is a bit out of the way but easy in and off highway access

    5
« Spotless, Friendly Staff, Amazing Value »

The Best Western White House Inn is a very clean hotel with wonderful staff! The hotel is right next to Dysart's which is amazing, the breakfast is so much more than I could have asked for, we were located very close to downtown Bangor and if you get a chance to take the Stephen King tour with Stu make sure to do so! I brought my fiance out to Bangor for his birthday weekend and the hotel was perfect. I can't find a single thing to complain about. If you are ever planning to stay in Bangor, stay at this hotel.

  • 5
« Awesome place to stay »

Clean, good breakfast and helpful staff. Rooms are awesome. Breakfast was really good and a wide variety. There us a pool in the summer and a great hot tub all year around. Never had a problem will stay there again

    5
    « Bangor Run »

Great, Clean Hotel with very Friendly staff. Nice Lounge downstairs to have a Pop and share a story or two. Breakfast is awesome with many Choices. Best Value for the Dollar. When in the Bangor area this Hotel is my # 1 Choice.

    4
    « Always a great experience »

I recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to be close to the City but not right in it. They are a clean, quiet hotel. They even allow pets. Be sure to ask not to be on a floor who allows pets if you do not like barking dogs. That is the only negative I had. If I had asked to change rooms, I know they would have done that for me, but we were already settled in.

    5
    « What a great place »

A lot of food choices for the included continental breakfast, friendly staff and very nice hotel. We also liked the historical items in the hotel. The only thing we did not find appealing was the view but I guess that is a trade off for being outside of town which made for a quieter setting

    4
    « Adequate and friendly. »

Would have no problem recommending this place to a friend. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. There was a decent hot breakfast. Value for the money was good. The only negative things I could comment on is the air conditioning was noisy and the hotel could do with a little TLC. Eg. Bathroom could use a little fixing up. With these things stop me from staying here again? Absolutely will stay here again.

    5
    « Very good experience »

Only stayed one night, check in very friendly. Room and common areas clean, breakfast good all employess are very friendly. I have stayed here before when I am in the area for work, always a good experience.

« Why is this place so highly rated? »

I honestly do not understand why this place is so highly rated. DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THESE REVIEWS LIKE ME! The hotel itself is very dated and looks dark. The lighting in the rooms is awful. Breakfast is appealing, worst selection I have ever experienced. It is also very badly laid out. To get to our room we had to walk all the way through the hotel because the elevator is at the rear. Who designed this? It is also very ominous to drive into, you appear to be heading for a dead end and the hotel is basically in the middle of a truck stop. Do not be taken in by the other reviews on here, avoid this hotel if you're in Bangor.

    5
    « Quite a good experiance »

Everything a motel should be. Interesting presidential themed décor, modern rooms with a touch of class, even a library to borrow books! Best hotel breakfast I have ever had, wide choice of hot and cold selections, make your own waffles and make your own pancakes.

    5
    « Lovely inn »

For some reason, I did not click that the White House inn was referring to the "White House" so it was so adorable when we went inside and saw all the presidential themed decor. The inn was adorable and lovely, very clean and well-staffed. I would stay here again.

    5
« Very nice for over night lodging. »

Very nice lodgings, lovely rooms, super clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, hot food and comfortable, relaxing dining room. Highly recommend staying here as you travel ad the price was fair...not too expensive. All inside entrances but very quiet.

« Felt welcome, great breakfast, and good location »

Very friendly, helpful staff. We definitely would recommend it. Amazing fresh breakfast options, comfortable bed, and great recommendation for touring, and dining. Loved stating at the White House. We were within walking distance to Dysarts Dining and had a delicious dinner, and yummy dessert and bakery options right in the back area of the hotel. Unassuming on the outside but very quaint and updated on the inside. Lovely stay.

    « Spotless »

This BW is in a quirky location near a highway and a large tractor trailer service area, so I wasn't expecting a lot. I was very pleasantly surprised. My room was large, my King bed very comfortable, the free internet worked well enough and there was a massage chair in the room. The bathroom needed updating, but spotless. I could hear the highway, but it was a low hum that I soon forgot about. I would stay here again and recommend to others.

    4
« Long Way into Bangor - Good Stop -Over »

As long as you don't mind being a good way from Bangor (5/7 miles) then as a stop over The Senator Inn is good value. Efficient check in, Room Large, Clean and functional with all facilities working well. Did not try Swimming Pool but looked good. Excellent Parking and has good Handicapped/Disabled facilities. Breakfast was better than most with good warm selection. Recommended.

    4
    « A Very Nice Travel Stop »

We look forward to staying here on our long trips between the Maritimes and the Mid-Atlantic area because it is clean and comfortable and they serve a very good complimentary breakfast. We appreciate always having two comfortable places to sit; so many places only give you one decent chair. Also, their mattresses are nice and firm. We were quite impressed that they handled breakfast with two busloads of hungry teenage athletes without skipping a beat! Because the Inn is close to I95, it is important to request rooms (in advance) on the 'quiet side'. Our only criticisms are minor: the bathrooms are a bit 'tired' and could use some freshening-up and they don't offer any fruit other than apples for breakfast.

Great Place to stay. Need to educate staff on where to get something to eat. They only knew of one place. We had to search our cell phone to find a good place to get good seafood. Dysarts is good, but we wanted to do seafood.

All fine but quite a noise from the floor above and from outside. Whole night. We were in room 216. As usual breakfast with plastic dishes and cutlery. But it is acceptable with eggs, toast and cereals.

« Really Enjoyed Our Stay »

We stayed one night in late September. The hotel itself is a neat experience with all the historical artifacts. The staff was extremely professional and courteous. We had a nice, spacious room with a fireplace and sitting area. Everything was clean and in perfect working order. The lounge area was cozy and a fun experience.

Had a wonderful time, one reason I chose this hotel was the lounge as my husband and I love not having to worry about driving anywhere. Also a big selling point was the room with the skylight and fireplace!

Was surprised to find the hotel hidden behind a truck stop in the middle of nowhere. Outside of that it was a wonderful hotel and stay. The breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable.

« Loved this hotel so much we stayed an extra night »

We had originally booked this hotel for one night while passing through Bangor. This hotel was so nice we decided to stay an extra day. Suite was incredible as was the hot breakfast buffet. Lounge in basement was a nice surprise. We would most definitely stay here again!

Great place, very quaint, very clean. Mo was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the truck stop very near and walkable for dinner. It was a fabulous dinner. Would hesitate to recommend to friends or family.

« Hotel staff at check-in was very nice »

Hotel staff was very nice, especially Mo. The outdoor pool was nice considering it was late September. The indoor hot tub was nice too! Mo updated us about the hotel giving us excellent service like we were the only ones there. Enjoyed receiving 500 points to be added to my Best Western Rewards card.

I stay at the White House/Best Western when I'm in the Bangor area. The beds are great, the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and they offer a great breakfast, nighttime cookies and even a good bar. What more do you need when away from home!

« Great Price, Very Modern and Up-to-Date, Wonderful Breakfast Buffet »

The Best Western White House Inn was a very pleasant surprise for my wife and me. The rooms are modern, large, clean, comfortable, and well laid out. They have a heated outdoor pool. But ... I would say that the best surprise was the breakfast buffet! It is one of the best free, hotel breakfast buffets that I've ever eaten at. Great selection of fresh baked goods, fruits, eggs, bacon, sausage and all sorts of other foods. If you're going to Bangor, THIS is the place to stay. Price of the room was excellent.

    « good overnight stay »

The hotel is nicely decorated, clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool is heated and we were able to use it. the hot tub is gorgeous and has lifts for those needing it and holds up to 20 people-again very clean and we were the only ones in it. It was easy to access our room on second floor and the hotel was very quiet. Breakfast was included, and while there was lots of variety, it didn't seem that fresh. Donuts were stale, eggs were half warm. There was lots of sausage, dry biscuits and gravy, just not my cup of tea.

    « Good stay »

Needed a place to stay for 7 nights to combining back for a Celebration of Life and a bit of vacation. This was a convenient location and large enough that several other people attending the Celebration of Life also stayed here. The large restaurant next door made it a very convenient place for a large group to eat. Located right off the turnpike and mid state location made it a good starting place for exploration Breakfast was good with a good selection of choices of hot foods. My room was on the backside so I did have traffice noise. Next stay I would ask for a room located farther away. But If I am in the area again, I will not hesitate to stay here.

    « Convenient and comfortable »

This was a perfect place to stop on the way to Bar Harbor, ME. Dinner at the truck stop next door was convenient and decent. Breakfast at the hotel was filling and put us on the road for the next leg of the drive in good spirits.

    « Amazing hot tub!! »

The hot tub in this hotel is huge!! I love that they have ADA accessible lifts, it dramatically assisted me. The Filibuster Lounge downstairs was also a pleasant surprise. The beds weren't the MOST comfortable but they did the trick, just a matter of preference really. The only thing I would recommend; maybe update the decor. They stay very true to the theme of the hotel, but even with that theme, the rooms could use some updating, especially in the bathrooms. There was nothing wrong, just a bit outdated. However I LOVED the hall of First Ladies on the third floor!!! Pros: amazing staff(really), huge hot tub, awesome lounge. Cons: decorations could use updating, beds weren't my preference. Would highly recommend!!

« Nice place, nice people »

Family and I spent a few nights here, on our way up and back from a vacation to Nova Scotia, Canada. Bangor was along the way, but also close to Acadia National Park--where we spent a day--and a lovely little town in its own right. My wife and I are Stephen King fans, so getting to see his house was also a nice treat. They had a 3 queen bed room, which allowed all of us (3 adults, 3 kids) to stay in one room, which we appreciated. One night that room wasn't available, but they provided a rollaway bed in another room. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, quiet. The hotel is a bit south of Bangor, but close to a truck stop that serves decent food. When we stayed the hotel was offering one free drink in the lounge, but we didn't go down to the lounge, so I can't speak to that. The morning breakfast is pretty good, for the size of the hotel. Cereal, eggs, bacon, waffle maker, the usual, but the quality is above average. Good coffee, most importantly. The hotel has a pool, hot tub, and gym. The pool is outdoors, but heated, so even in the cool evenings our kids enjoyed it. Hot tub is big and comfortable, and I really liked the gym. Great equipment and I always had it to myself. The staff was very nice and quite helpful. In short, we really liked our stay and would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

« Great place and value »

My husband and I just stayed here last night. I had the best sleep I've had in a few weeks on the very comfortable bed with quality linens. The room was spacious and clean. Yes, it isn't the newest hotel around but it was well kept and the staff was great and friendly. The breakfast buffet includes pastries, coffees, teas, juices, cereals, yogurt with side offerings of fruit and nuts, gluten-free options, with three waffle irons, cappuccino maker, hard-boiled and scrambled eggs, two different kinds of sausage, bacon, corned beef hash and cheese omelettes. I would definitely stay here again. Add to all that the heated pool and spacious hot tub with a little fountain and it was perfect for us. They also have a very cozy lounge on the lower level with a friendly bartender where you can get drinks and watch TV in a pub atmosphere.

Sweet hotel, staff super friendly, always a smile. Loved the checkers and also the games offered to play in lounge. Breakfast was very good and eating area kept very tidy. Loved the décor themed to the hotel Whitehouse. Close to all things we wanted to do. Room was clean.

    « A little disappointed »

Although we have stayed here a few times before, our stay was not as pleasant as last year. The room on the third floor only had one small skylight, so it was very dark. The breakfast was not good at all. Only apples for fresh fruit. And the hot foods were undercooked. However the room was clean, we enjoyed the spa, and the staff was friendly.

« Decent hotel if you stay in the front building »

Stayed here for the second year while visiting friends nearby. Location is perfect for us and the place is decent. Rooms in the front building are pretty good, but a friend who stayed in the back building said they were horrible+ had a bad smell that triggered her allergies. Suites w/kitchens are small and only have fridge, microwave, 2 burners, +small table and chairs. This year, I got executive room instead since we didn't really use kitchen last year. Minifridge and microwave was more than enough. We sat on beds and chair to socialize. The rooms are clean with nice bathrooms: separate toilet/shower room with fan, 2 sinks. Beds were decent. AC worked well and had a quieter "sleep" mode. Windows opened enough to get some fresh air. Hot tub was HUGE and we enjoyed it despite the cloudy water and the sweltering air temp (I finally opened the window, which helped slightly). We tried the outdoor pool after being told it was heated (it was a chilly, overcast day). It was not heated that we tell and the water was quite cold. Last year, in the warm sunshine, it was fabulous. Breakfast is good with lots of variety and lots of room to sit. So, overall, a decent place to stay (though I think a bit overpriced for what and where it is). Lobby is a little dark and "tired" looking. They have this whole somewhat shabby "presidential" theme (it's the "White House" inn...get it??? Um, yeah, we got it, but we don't care). There's a life size cut out of the current president and paintings of presidents in the darkly carpeted and wallpapered lobby. Oh, and a selection of "inspirational" (translation: Christian) books for sale nearby. Now, as for the lounge, if you follow the maze behind the front desk that leads to the elevator and back building you will come to a stairwell that leads down to the lounge. The stairs are covered in plastic carpet runner and lined with old, dusty plastic flowers. When you get to the lounge itself, you realize that you should have saved the adjective "shabby" since this place makes the lobby look downright elegant! Since it's Maine, I don't know if the place is frequented by locals or the truck drivers from the Dysarts truck stop out front, but they are definitely "salt of the earth" kind of people. We didn't go this year, but after witnessomg a guy pass out while smoking and eventually fall off his barstool while the bartender got no support from her managers to help her kick him out, we saw everything we needed to.

« "Will recommend this hotel to others" »

From the moment we walked into the lobby of the hotel, it was a positive experience. The staff were accommodating and very pleasant. The "spin the wheel" game for a prize upon check in was a fun way to begin our stay. The room was clean, plenty of towels and pillows and I was impressed with the size of the room . A Keurig machine in the room was a plus. The lounge was comfortable and the barmaid was friendly and very helpful- going out of her way to copy directions for us and hand write special , helpful tips.

    « Interesting older hotel »

We stayed at this hotel while visiting family... picked it due to the reviews and the location and the cost. It is an older property, but the lobby areas are clean. Our room on the main floor was comfortably large, 2 reading chairs. Not much drawer storage but there was a small refrigerator. Small but clean bathroom. Sink in main room area. Plenty of parking. Convenient to I95. Breakfast was not up to par with equal priced hotels we usually stay at, but one can walk to Dysarts next door... 24 hour "truck stop" with amazing "homemade" food... Overall a good stop for staying in the Bangor area.

« Nice place to stay! »

We recently stayed at the Best Western White House Inn for 2 nights. We really enjoyed the White House theme and the photos/busts of former presidents/First Ladies and the cardboard cutout of the sitting president. We stayed in one of the themed suites, Wilderness Lodge, which was huge with a log frame king size bed, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and sitting area with gas logs. It was charming! It also offered a nice 42in flatscreen, under counter fridge & microwave! After a 25 mile bike ride, the heated pool followed by the very large indoor hot tub was great!!! No soreness the next day! Nice workout center; suite and hotel was exceptionally clean; breakfast buffet included and it was a step above most (even had a very fancy coffee machine to enjoy any type you could imagine, like cappuccino, macchiato, expresso, etc); hotel was conveniently located to downtown and close enough to Camden, Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor for day trips! It was our third stay there and definitely won't be our last!

« We have been going to the white House Inn for years. »

Love the outdoor pool for the kids and and a great place if you are traveling with a dog as they have a nice area to walk your pets. Also love their breakfast and a short walk to a great truck stop, Dysart's, for dinner.

« Good breakfast, dark and gloomy hotel »

Wow! Lobby was so dark, I felt like they had forgotten to turn on the lights! The whole hotel, hallways, etc were dimly lighted. Greeted by a large cardboard cut out of Donald Trump. Thus the name of the hotel. Pictures of First Ladies in dimly lit 3rd floor hallway. Located next to Dysarts Cafe and truck stop. Trucks noisy one nite even though we were located on 3rd floor away from roadway. The ice maker for the 3rd floor was broken. Lounge downstairs was like a speakeasy, but bartender was great. Front desk staff cordial but did not go out of their way to offer suggestions for dining except Dysarts. Location had no views except for semis. Good point is that housekeeping was great and location is easy access to major highways, airport and downtown Bangor and surrounding area. Don't miss transportation museum! Fabulous!

    « Be a White House Guest »

Our family loved the White House theme at this hotel! Someone took the time to create walls on each floor with different presidential themes. We enjoyed reading about the First Ladies on our 3rd floor location. The value and location of this hotel is awesome. We stayed here and traveled to Acadia, Bar Harbor, Kennebunkport, Moosehead Lake and more. Each was at least an hour away. But this was a solid central spot for our travel itinerary.

    4
« Comfortable place to stay »

We were staying in the area to visit Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and other local sites. We enjoy staying at Best Western hotels because we can count on our rooms consistently being very clean and a comfortable to rest after a day of travel. The Best Western White House was filled with interesting theme items in the lobby, dining room and along the hallways. The location right off the highway made it easily accessible as we traveled about. All staff were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome.

    4
    « Which White House? »

A motif that was an attempt at being the White House, after being explained. (After driving over 7 hrs, The most prominent thing in the lobby was a life size cut-out of Donald Trump. My first impression was to get back in the car and look for another place to stay.) My reservation was made months in advance without any indication of motif other than it was an older style building that was painted white. After the explanation of what they were trying to achieve, I calmed down enough to appreciate the renovation work they had done. Although set next to a truck stop, there was no indication of it and the stay was quite pleasant. The breakfast was a little more extensive that in most places and the service was very good.

    « Real nice place. »

The hotel is right off the highway. The staff is extremely nice. The breakfast is way more than continental The beds are better than mine at home. The bar is quint and appealing. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

« clean, easily accessible from Highway »

I stayed here as a quick overnight from PEI back to Boston. The hotel was right off the highway, clean, comfortable and the staff could not have been nicer. I only took advantage of the room and the hot breakfast in the AM before hitting the road. I did see families using other amenities like the pool and the checkerboard table.

    « Excellent Stay - Nice Staff »

Sweet Hotel in a great location. Nice staff and comfortable rooms. Only improvement I could see would be to vacuum the elevators and around edges of areas better! Yes I'm picky but since the hotel was overall so clean it was noticeable. Our room was lovely. 3rd floor with a skylight. The only thing I wish I had noticed was that with the skylight you have no window that opens and I would rather have a bit of air instead of AC all night. Ours never shut off but if we turned it off it was too warm/stuff. Oh well - the comfy bed made up for it! The decor was pretty sweet. Like the White House (not that I've been invited to sleep there...yet). Pool is nice though highway noise does kill the relaxing vibe. It was warm and we had it to ourselves. Didn't try the hot tub area inside. Breakfast was better than most BWs I've been too. A LOT better. They have a lounge which I didn't try since one person in our party was under 21. Sad they couldn't serve food since Dysart's truck stop is right behind them. Decor was pretty neat except the creepy #45 cut out in the entrance. He's hiding the very nice bust of George Washington. I suppose others didn't like the last President in the lobby either. Perhaps they should go with 1st ladies instead! I'll be back. Thanks for the hospitality.

« Clean, Comfortable, and Pet Friendly »

I love this hotel. Their beds are very comfortable; it looks and smells clean. The décor/color schemes are soothing and restful. I always get a wonderful sleep whenever I stay at this hotel. And it has a huge field out back (very huge, a hayfield) where I can walk our dogs. The breakfast is delicious, too, and included in the rate. My kids love the pool! There isn't a view but it is close enough to the highway, which is important to us when we travel.

This facility was very clean and had an extraordinary breakfast! The hot tub was an added plus! Staff was very friendly and hardworking. We were on the third floor and it was amazing their use of space....everything you need in the room! AC worked great! Would definitely stay here again! My only negative is that a cardboard statue of Trump greeted us in the lobby....not a fan, sorry!

« Very good customer service & staff! »

My father and I did a road trip to Nova Scotia and back last week and given the length of the trip and the fact we had my dog with me, we stayed in 3 different hotels along the way. We were focused on places that would allow my dog, were comfortable and wouldn't break the bank. I booked a night at The Best Western White House based on Expedia and Trip Advisor reviews for value (and the fact they allow dogs) via Amex Travel. When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk agent let me know that there were no dog rooms available (apparently there are just a certain amount of rooms in the hotel that pets are allowed). I was tired after a full day of driving and didn't want to deal with finding another place. Also, all the remaining hotels I had seen during my search were very expensive with a high fee to bring one's pet. The attendant (Chris) said he would help me find another place. Then he got a better idea and called a guest who had not arrived yet to see if the guest would like to be upgraded (to the room I had booked) and we could take their room (a pet room - but they weren't traveling with a pet). Had I been less tired, maybe I would have thought of that remedy, but I certainly didn't have the capacity at that moment. I was extremely grateful to Chris and his colleague Mo, for making it possible for us to stay. I had booked 2 other rooms via Amex travel at other locations without having a problem when I arrived with my dog, so I hadn't realized that some hotels have a limited allocated number of rooms. The ambience of the hotel is sort of from the 80s with phtoos/prints of presidents lining the hall and a cardboard life-size cutout of Donald Trump in the lobby. The breakfast buffet was ample. There is an outside pool and also a hot tub (I'm not sure if it's outside or inside). The hotel is right off the highway (highway noise but not if your windows are closed) and very close to some truck stops, etc. Location-wise it's great for getting on and off the interstate. On the other side of the hotel is a big field with round bails of hay. It's odd. If you look at one half of the hotel there is an almost idyllic view, but the other side is quite industrial and boisterous. It seemed like the perfect place for travelers with children who want to be able to unwind for the night and let their kids blow off steam in the pool. There were games for kids to play. The rooms were comfortable. Free wifi. Free breakfast. Nice employees. Great service. We actually ordered out from the restaurant at the truck stop on the other side of the road (essentially a truck stop diner). And considering what it was, the food was very good. Comfort food. Would I stay at the Best Western in Bangor again? Not if I wanted a centrally located hotel in the middle of Bangor attractions, no. But if I were just driving through and wanted a quiet, clean, comfortable place to stay for the evening that allowed my pup, and had a free breakfast, pool, games, internet, etc. Yes, definitely. This is a very good value with really nice folks working there. And the pet fee was only $10 compared to the Marriott Residence Inn $100 fee. Kudos to Chris and Mo for helping us out in a pinch. Much appreciated.

    « Summer Vacation »

We stayed at the BW and can't recommend it to other travelers. We arrived fairly late and there was a very small sign indicating that a rear door was the entrance (the main doors and parking lot were blocked off because of construction.) That made arrival more difficult. The hotel, hallways, and our room looked "tired." The A/C in our room worked poorly and the room was uncomfortably hot. On the plus side, I complained about the A/C and the Desk Clerk, Beth adjusted our bill, which I appreciated. Also, the breakfast area is bright and has lots of room.

Noisy by highway. Liked being able to open the window, but was only quiet at midnight. Traffic noise came through AC too. Nice breakfast selection, including cappuccino machine. There is a karaoke bar in the basement.

« Neat place to stay »

I knew it was great when we pulled up and it had a portico. Then we go inside and there is a life size cut out of Donald Trump. Of course we took a selfie with it. It's decorated nicely. There's a sitting room with games and books and the swimming pool is very large. The wifi was good and the breakfast was great! The staff was very helpful and friendly.

    « It's Time for Another Review »

We've stayed at the Whitehouse Inn several times, but not in the last 3 years so I decided it was time to re-evaluate the hotel. The result: No change. The Whitehouse Inn is the finest BW hotel we've had the pleasure of staying in. It's clean and friendly...bery clean and friendly. We like the fact it borders a farm field in which we are allowed to walk about. The breakfast is better than "normal" motel fare and view from the dining room is quite nice. The hotel takes up its name with gusto: The corridors are lined with pictures of each American President. I listened to a father pointing to a president and giving his son a brief history lesson. How cool1 Finally, they have a very honest staff. My wife left here "diamond" neckless in the room and the cleaning staff turned it in. It is in fact a zirconium stone, but they culdn't have known. I was quite impressed...Good work to the staff and management of Whitehouse Inn!!!

« decent hotel needing more security »

Stayed here overnight. This hotel is behind a large truckstop and a decent diner-dysart's When we stayed here the main front entrance was closed due to placing new asphalt in the front area. There was a door open in the back. There is also a lounge downstairs. When we checked in, we noticed this man in the walking around in the common area of near the back door. We assumed he was there from the lounge area. He was there when we went to late dinner. Upon our return he was still there and just before we were to go upstairs, we saw him curl up on the couch. we then walked around to the front to talk to the desk clerks who were alerted to this man and were going out to talk to him. In those few minutes --from the time we saw him and the time it took for the clerks to come out- he was unresponsive and they had to call the police and he was taken out by them. When we went to our room we were concerned for security of the hotel as the back door down stairs was open. So we called down and was told they had a camera there and could watch. Obviously they were not watching all the time this man paced that area. Our actual room was fine and the mattresses were not too bad. the breakfast was fine-typical. This hotel is right off the Route 95 which makes it convenient if traveling from that area. There is also a gas station which seems to be part of the truck stop. It is full service at self service prices--even washed our windshield.

« Amazing Breakfast, Hot Tub, Pool »

It's an older hotel but beds were very comfortable with lots of comfortable pillows. Furniture a bit dated but room was very clean and quite large. There were lots of families swimming when we arrived, and we discovered a hot tub and an exercise room as well. Breakfast was the star of the day. The room is large enough for 10 round top tables. There were waffles, hard boiled eggs, cheese omelets, scrambled eggs, pork sausages, corned beef hash, biscuits, and baked beans, plus several kinds of herbal tea, regular tea, coffee and what appeared to be a latte maker (I don't drink coffee). Although it's near I-95, the room was very quiet. 4 stars because the rooms are a bit dated but we would happiy stay here again. It's 6 miles from the airport, an 8 minute drive early in the morning.

    « Convenient Location »

The hotel was surprisingly large as the building had many wings. There was an outdoor pool that looked very clean and was actively used by other guests. The hot breakfast offered a variety of items and there were ample tables for the guests. i stayed here because it was pet friendly and was at a convenient location just off of I-95. The diner at the adjacent gas station/truck stop was within walking distance and was excellent.

« Close to Bangor, close enough to Acadia National Park »

Located about an hour away from Acadia National Park and just a few minutes from Stephen King's house in Bangor, Maine this hotel is one of the better ones we have stayed in during our summer family road trip in the northeast. The hotel is rather large and white, thus the name "White House Inn". They play on this theme and have presidential items throughout the hotel. There are busts of presidents, books about presidents on the shelves and pictures of almost every president on the walls of the 1st floor hallway (President Trump has not been added yet). The rooms are pretty standard for a Best Western. I thought the bed and the pillows were comfortable. I sat for a while at the table and chair in the room and worked on the computer and I had no complaints. The breakfast spread was the best of our trip so far. Plenty of room, more variety of foods and a very attentive attendant. In fact, every employee we encountered at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the outside doors are not keyed to the room key - they are locked up late in the evening (11 PM, I think).

« Return Visit and Not disappointed »

This Best Western provides everything a person expects in a motel. Checkin was very efficient and check out was even better. The room is spacious with 2 big lounge type chairs. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Love the fact the motel is pet friendly as we travel with a small dog. The room was also very clean and well kept. The only thing is it is starting to show its age but is well maintained. It is a little distance from town but the plus side is Dysarts (truck stop) which is a very good restaurant with excellent pies. This is walking distance from the motel. We have stayed here before and were not disappointed with our second visit. This is still our choice motel in Bangor.

    « Daycation »

Without much time off had a getaway mid-week and stayed at the Best Western Bangor - White House. Not our first stay and probably won't be our last. Quiet, comfortable and treated superbly. Although it appears like it would be noisy because of the proximity to the large truck-stop but that was never the case.

    « Great hotel »

We found their staff to be extremely helpful when checking in, which was quick and very efficient. The room was extremely clean . Breakfast was provided with an extremely nice selection of items. Loved the photo gallery of all the presidents, and the stand up life size photo of President Trump near the fireplace in the lobby!

This place has a fun & unique presidential theme & very friendly staff. They were especially nice to us as Best Western Rewards members. The nearby Dysart's Restaurant was good. Breakfast at this property was very good.

    « 26th Anniversary »

We went to this hotel to get away close by and celebrate our 26th Anniversary. We stayed in the Romance Suite, and it was just beautiful! It reminded me of a beautiful loft apartment with every luxury you could want. The heart-shaped whirlpool tub was my favorite thing! The two-person shower was amazing, too! Customer service was good, and everyone was helpful. Breakfast was more than what I expected, and a nice surprise.

    « Excellent stay! »

From the time we came through the door, the whole experience was great! The gentleman at the front desk when we arrived was very helpful and courteous. He explained about all the amenities and the hot breakfast that was included. The breakfast had everything we wanted. We also have a pet and really appreciated the run that you made in the large field...he was really able to "blow off some steam"!

« Nice room good price »

Bed was comfortable and room was quite good place to stay when catching an early Greyhound bus, less than 300 feet to bus depot. Would stay again should the need arise. They also have the truckers restaurant that delivers to room which worked out great because I was to tired to go out and eat. Food is good and simple.

« Amazing Hotel and Staff! »

We spent one night at the Best Western White House Inn and will definitely be back! Large rooms; very comfortable beds; extremely clean. Every staff person we interacted with were friendly, knowledgeable and so friendly! The hot tub room was huge and a welcome reprieve after a long day on the road. And then the next morning, we went down for our "continental" breakfast which is included in the price and boy, were we surprised! A full hot breakfast with a large variety to choose from was awaiting us! Not at all what we consider a continental breakfast. And a special mention to the women who were keeping the food going in that room - everything was kept fresh, filled and hot and with a smile and lots of patience! This hotel was a real find for us and we highly recommend!

    « Great Stay »

We enjoyed our stay this past week. The room was nicer than expected - we were given a room with the two king beds. I have never stayed in a room with two king beds - there was plenty of room (huge TV too). If in the area again I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

« First Stay at the WH »

This hotel was a very pleasant start to my Maine trip. We got in quite late after a long day of travel and the hotel was easy to find from the airport. At check-in, we were referred to the 24-hr truck stop for a surprisingly tasty meal. Tidy room and friendly staff. Breakfast was not the best I have had at a BW, but overall - recommended.

    « Charming hotel »

Had a great stay ! It was clean and comfortable ! The whirl pool was nice . Never really got chance to use the pool , but it looked clean . The path through the field was pretty . The breakfast was ok . It had a good selection of food . It was your typical continental breakfast. We came here on a visit to unity college . We stayed for 5 nights . It was an easy 30 minute drive to the college . We also went to Bar Harbor and several other costal towns . We had great visit to Maine . I wasn't to impressed with Bangor to be honest though. I was glad that this hotel was located out of the city. I guess to be honest though I'm not much of city person. It was easy to get around to the different towns in Maine from this hotel. Maine is a wonderful state .

    « Convenient location and dog-friendly »

We were happy to find a dog-friendly hotel at a very reasonable price. The hotel is average in terms of appearance and amenities, but it was a great value. The only drawback is there is no restaurant on site, but Dysart's is only steps away.

    « A delightful Small Town Inn »

This Inn had all the amenities of a larger hotel combined with the kindness and personal attention of a small town neighborly feel. The staff were so helpful and accommodating that they make our stay feel like we were at home. We wold definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

« great place to stay. »

It is clean and nice the staff is are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The shower has great pressure, beds are comfortable the TV is huge and the Internet is fast. The breakfast is really nice with a pancake and waffle maker, hot food (bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, eggs etc) on a steam table that is well managed to ensure the food is fresh.

    « Great stay »

What a super place. The room was very nice and the breakfast was great. The hall where our room was located had a president theme. The was an outdoor pool and an indoor hot tub. We ate at the truck stop in back of the motel and the food was homemade and delicious. The motel was about an hour away from Acadia National Park. We gladly stayed here because the price was lower then the park . We got a much better value by staying inBangor.

    « Amazing »

From the moment we were greeted to the check out, we had one of the best stays at a hotel. The hot tub was really nice with a mini waterfall and the outdoor pool was heated and well lit for swimming at night. For members they had a promo spin wheel, cookies and juice were also available upon arrival. Breakfast in the morning was amazing, they had so many options to chose from and the staff was very friendly.

    « Friendly and Unique »

We arrived at the hotel at almost midnight. The kind gentleman at the desk opened the snack shop in the lobby to allow us to get a little to eat, even though it had been closed for a couple of hours. Our room was very clean. Loved the White House theme! Really enjoyed our stay!

    « NOISY! »

The idea of a themed hotel of Presidents was great. People were having fun taking pictures with the full size cut out in the lobby of Trump. The staff on the front desk and housekeeping were extremely pleasant. I had asked for a quiet room when booking and again upon arriving. The fellow at the front desk said the room he was giving me on the other side of the highway would fit the bill. It was very noisy when we got to our room but it was rush hour - we thought it would quieten overnight, which it did but even with ear plugs and a sleeping pill I barely slept. On top of that, the air conditioning unit under the window was loud and we had to turn it off totally and lay on top of the covers as it was so warm. As well, the side of the hotel I was on is close to where about 30 transport trucks were parked and some idling. I don't recall hearing any noise from them through the night though. The upside of this stay was the Dysart Truck Stop within walking distance of the hotel. Great food and truck theme decor. Wouldn't stay here again but just because of the noise level - if that won't bother you, a fun place to stay.

« Beautiful and friendly place »

Had a very pleasant check in, this hotel has some really neat presidential memorabelia. The room was clean and the A/C already running on a super hot day inJune. Wifi was fast and streamed well. The only downside was that the shower spray was not very good, but that could be easily remedied.

    5
« Really interesting place to stay »

A very interesting hotel resembling the white house with pictures of all the Presidents. Rooms are richly decorated accordingly. Excellent eating area for breakfast with spacious seating and a large selection of breakfast items to eat. Room was noted to be very comfortable. Only downside was the Kuerig coffee maker did not work in our room and we reported it to the management the next day.

    5
« Best Western White House Inn »

« Comfy bed , beautiful furnishings and great variety of breakfast items »

Loved the furniture in the lobby and the rooms. Very comfy bed. The breakfast was the best we've ever had at a hotel. Lots of choices! Omelettes, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, beans, pancakes & waffles with 5 different toppings, breads, cereals, fruit, yogurts, biscuits w/ sausage gravy and coffe & juices. Wow! We really enjoyed the large hot tub, but didn't check out the outside heated pool.

    « Mini Get A Way »

I met a friend who travels down from northern Maine and Bangor is our halfway point at White House Inn. We had rooms on the third floor and found them to be clean and well stocks. I guess my only complaint would be that the room had no windows, only a skylight with a reachable shade. But it's not really a complaint, just unexpected. We loved the gym and hot tub and used it all three days. The breakfast was not great. There were lots of choices, but the meats and eggs were overcooked and rubbery. The waffle mix, fruits, coffee, and juice were good. I would go back here again and found it to be an easy place to get in and out of to enjoy things around town. I tried to book a room here for a concert I'm attending in July and it was already full.

    5
« Actually like the White House »

This place was top notch from A to Z. Super clean, spacious, tasteful. Best hotel breakfast I have ever had, by far. Three different egg dishes, waffles, bacon, sausage and biscuits, and much, much more. I would definitely stay again if I am anywhere in the area.

    « weekend getaway »

We stayed in the Captain Lafayette Suite for the weekend and it is absolutely beautiful. The room is very large with a Jacuzzi tub, fireplace, a amazingly comfortable bed and large granite shower big enough to have a party in! The staff is very friendly and bends over backwards to see to your ever need. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with tons of selections. It is close to Bangor without being right down town and it is easy to get to right off I-95.

« Nice stay for U Maine Graduation »

    « Last minute trip »

This trip was last minute. We stopped in Bangor on our way to Canada. We stopped in at Dysarts to eat and asked for the best place to stay. They recommended the Best Western behind them. It was late and we could not drive any further for the night. The hotel was wondrful and we got a good nights sleep. We started in the morning refreshed and ready to go. Well worth it and we will be back. It was also interesting as they had all the presidents pictures up throughout the halls. Nice touch

    3
« great theme hotel, friendly staff »

This hotel is themed perfectly. One floor with photos of presidents in the hallway and another floor with their wives. Very cosy, warm and classy interior decoration. The staff is friendly. Not all rooms are soundproofed to the latest technical possibilities. The hotel is not in the Bangor central city area, but that is within minutes distance by car.

    5
« Better than expected value »

I expect a good value from Best Western hotels: price not to high, rooms clean and completely functional, few frills, reasonable breakfast, friendly staff. The Bangor White House Inn was a cut above across the board. It was surprisingly quiet in my room, though close to Rt. 95. And, it was a short walk to Dysarts, a famous truckstop with a family-friendly destination restaurant, well-know throughout Maine for its food and especially its desserts.

    5
« Comfy rooms with nice perks. »

The room was quite comfy and a good size. The TV was big and under it was the microwave and refrigerator. Coffee and tea maker in the room as well. WiFi was OK as was the shower. Parking and unloading was a breeze. The breakfast was excellent. They also have a fun lounge where everyone has always been friendly. They also have a little Jacuzzi and workout room.

    4
    « Great Value »

The room was clean and the décor was fresh and cozy.We appreciated being able to bring our family dog. We also especially loved the antique furniture at the desk area. According to the attendant, the bathroom in our room is scheduled for an update soon.

« the breakfast at The White House inn, bangor Maine is worth the stay »

After a 2 week vacation of staying in hotels, I am glad our last night was with Best Western White House Inn, Bangor, Maine. With a helpful staff, nice room and comfortable bed was what we needed to finish our wonderful trip in the US Of A. Im still bragging the breakfast we had at Best Westen White House Inn. Loved the Décor, pic. of past presidents, and had taken some fun pictures with the life size cardboard image of President Trump. If we ever cross the border again, from Canada the US, I would definitely stay at Best Western House Inn.

« The Inn with all amenities »

The White House Inn was familiar to us from past visits. The Inn has had a major make over in refurbishing the rooms and breakfast fare. The staff were excellent in every way from the front desk to the lounge. Congratulations to the BW White House inn. Easily accessible via exit 180 on 95 N and 95 S it is also situated near restaurants and service stations. Ideal location for the traveler.

The room was good size for a stay of 4 nites. Loved the breakfast - could always find something I liked to eat. We enjoyed the bar one nite---Kate the bartender was great.. It was a convenient location off Rt. 95.

    « Clean rooms »

Enjoyed our stay other then there being no cold water. It was a very hot shower. If they could correct that issue, I would rate them a 4. :) The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

    « Fabulous Best Western! »

I have stayed at many Best Western hotels. The by far is the best one yet! I cannot find anything negative about this hotel. Staff are amazing and go above and beyond my expectations! Best Western is a great chain of hotels. Always clean and dependable however this one is very unique. It's been renovated over the years and has an unusual layout which just adds character. Here at prices too! Breakfast is included! All 3 days we were unable to eat lunch (which saves a lot) due to the full breakfast available. I can't say enough about this hotel. You won't be disappointed!!

    5
    « Wonderful accommodations »

This BW is close to the I-95 and convienent to access. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. We were well received at the front desk, and felt very welcome. This is a pet friendly BW which we appreciate since we travel with our cat. The breakfast was one of the best, with lots of options. We will definitely stay here again.

    5
« Best value for money on our whole 2 week trip »

We stayed in BW properties for every night of our 13 day USA road trip and this hotel was by far the best value for money out of all the properties. Just as important, I am a Best Western Rewards member and I was getting tired of asking for a room upgrade, asking for a goody bag or the points, as my understanding was that this was all supposed to be automatic as part of the check-in process for a rewards member.. Well this was the only BW hotel of the 9 during our stay where it all was automatic. The front desk staff welcomed me back to Best Western at check in, provided me with a room upgrade, and asked if I preferred a goody bag or alternatively 500 points. Such a pleasant change. Thanks to the staff for doing that. Also at breakfast the next morning was one of the best of the trip. It had the widest selection, everything was fresh and well laid out, and they had a variety of foods not provided by other BW hotels.

    « Nice large room »

Hot tub was large, comfortable and very relaxing. Our room was large, didn't give you that claustrophobic feeling. Breakfast was very good, with lots of options. Staff was very accommodating. Plus, its walking distance from the classic restaurant, Dysarts.

    5
    « Always a great stay »

Another great stay as always. Clean rooms, great staff. great breakfast. It's like coming to my second home. Never long enough. Can't wait to go back again. Thanks to the staff for always taking great care of us.

    4
    « Excellent staff »

The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is ok. This is one of the most important pluses. However they need to improve the quality of their breakfast. Also if you want a quiet room ask for a room away from the constant traffic. Prices are very reasonable especially offseason and mid-week.

    4
    « Good »

A little pricy and not a lot of healthy choices at the breakfast buffet but food is good. Room is tidy and cozy. Our room has a skylight no window. Fridge won't fit a single togo box. Annoying for a long stay. Laundry room is clean and lockable so you don't have to babysit it. Fittness room is clean and nice so is the whirlpool. Family friendly too. Amy our maid was very nice, Mo is the best front desk guy ever. Carry another maid was super helpful finding stuff close by for my kids to do. Staff really makes this place awesome. The room is pretty small and atypical of hotels. The coffee machine only does one cup at a time I am a caffeine addict so this bothers me. No major issues I think I am just sick of waiting for my house to be ready.

    5
« Driving cross country - great spot »

They understand customer service, reasonable price, very clean, all the amenities you would need. Comfortable bed, good shower (what else is really important). Breakfast was ok, coffee better than usual and a Keurig in the room.

    4
« Great location for trips into Bangor »

Recently stayed here for a business trip to Bangor. Great location and easy commute into the city, yet the hotel is right on the highway so the noise level is up there. They offer a free breakfast in the morning which included what would be expected from a free breakfast - lowered quality foods but still, it's free! The staff was extremely helpful and able to answer all questions and made the stay very comfortable and easy. Would stay here again.

    5
    « Always a great stay »

Always a great stay, great staff and the cleanest rooms. Never stay anywhere else. Best place to stay in Maine. If you forget anything they will give it to you. Best continental breakfast. Nice swimming pool in the summer and a little in door one to. Great location to. Close to everything but yet far away from the noise. It's like going to a family members house to stay.

    3
« A little dated but quiet and clean »

Close access to the I95 freeway and easy access to shopping. Would not have been the place I usually stay but it was Veterans Day weekend and things were really booked up. However it was clean and quiet the breakfast was pretty good. The room we had was on the third floor and it only had a sky light in it no windows which was odd. There is a truckstop next door if you needed a meal at any time of the day. It was fine and the price was pretty fair overal.

    4
    « Our stay »

Used air miles to book our stay here. It wasn't as close to the malls as other places I stayed but it was nice. We found an odd smell in the elevator & hall ways (carpet?). Our room had two nice size beds & a few mints to snack on. The hot tub was wonderful & breakfast was a great selection. We were on the second floor & found it quite loud throughout night & morning (we think there was a family above us, & it sounded like the kids were running back and fourth the entire time).

    5
    « Great hotel »

My husband and I have stayed at the White House Inn several times and have always had a great vacation! Its not too far off the beaten track, only 5 miles from the Bangor Mall shopping area. the rooms are clean and comfortable (I love it when the sink is outside of the toilet/shower room), the beds and pillows are probably some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The hot breakfast is a definite benefit. We will always stay at this facility when travelling to Bangor.

« Best Stay in Maine! »

Wilderness King Suite: We will definitely be back! This was our best stay in Maine. Great servive and clean room - the only thing missed was our diamond level gift at check in and would like to see upgraded amenities in toiletries. Room was clean, quiet and secluded. Massage chair was a nice touch after a day of travel. Also loved the wood floor for sanitation and character. Great themed room. The scent of wood in the air was fabulous. Our 3rd best BW stay ever, with a lot of years and a lot of stays!

    5
    « Stay like a President »

The hotel is not right in Bangor but a bit of the highway which was very convenient for us. We did not have a reservation and were having trouble finding a vacancy and felt like we hit the jackpot with this place. The exterior does resemble the white house and lobby was very attractive. The gentlemen who checked us in was pleasant and helpful. The only rooms left were their theme rooms which all have large hot tubs which we were too tired too enjoy. We chose to stay in the presidential suite. It was very spacious, had beautiful furnishings and also some very clever "presidential" touches. A nice breakfast is included.

    4
« Good Price, Good hotel right off the highway »

Avoids the prices of the hotels right on the mall strip. It's 6 miles away from the Shopping area but it's right off the highway and easy to find. And you get a nice little price savings for that. Top grade continental breakfast too. One of the best free hotel breakfasts I've had. Only knock would be the noise level, I think the walls are a bit thin - but we were right at the entrance and there was a woman's soccer team staying as well, so both of those are probably attributive to that.

    4
    « Very comfortable stay »

A little outside the Bangor area. Our room was hug- 2 king beds with lots of extra space! Breakfast was good, fridge, microwave and sink in all rooms and the hotel was very quiet. Decor is a bit dated but very clean with comfortable beds. Dysart's next door is convenient too. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fresh baked treats at the counter are a lovely touch.

    5
« And four years later.... »

I stayed at the White House four years ago on business and gave it a good review but for the breakfast. The Dysart Truck stop is next door and the facility so I thought the hotel had everything going for it. The manager at the time sent a note that they were working on the breakfast. Four years later the breakfast is now spectacular with lots of choices and my room and bed were we very comfortable. Unquestionably for me now, the best place to stay. WELL DONE White House!

    4
« Good place to stay »

It was sufficient, good room, location, quiet, air, guy at front desk ok, rooms seemed to have been updated, cost was average. Bar was ok, coupon for a draft or drink was nice, some good beers there. Breakfast was included and was ok.

    4
    « Cozy, older hotel »

Older hotel, but very well kept up. Good value, with excellent breakfast, and very good nearby restaurant. Outside the main Bangor area and its attractions, but 10-15 minute drive to downtown. Watch for exit off freeway carefully. There is a bar/lounge on site, though we did not use it.

    5
« Nice clean rooms, fitness center and pool. »

I stay here every week on business & I check in early(11am). The staff always does their best to make sure a room is ready for me and for the other 3 or 4 early check ins. The restaurant at the truck stop next door has very good food and a good selection of food.

    5
    « Fantastic stay »

We loved everything about this hotel, the vintage furnishings gave the appearance of stepping back in time. The staff is great, the breakfast was awesome, and walk across the parking lot to the truck stop for some of the best home made pie you can find.

    « Bangor's best secret »

The Best Western White House is awesome! I really look forward to staying here....I am a traveling salesmen and I stay here often when in Upper Maine. The staff is so friendly and helpful, they even have cookies and desserts at the counter! The rooms are big, QUIET and we'll furnished. The beds are amazingly comfortable and perfect for sleeping. They have a comfortable chair and desk to do work, a fridge and a microwave. The bathroom is very clean and the shower had a great sprayhead. Breakfast is phenomenal. The pool and MASSIVE hot tub are stupendous. I can't recommend this place enough! I have stayed at most of the hotels in Bangor, this is the best one, hands down. This is home away from home.

« Home away from home »

I wish every hotel stay was as delightful as the week at the Best Western White House in Bangor, ME. From the polite staff, who went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were met to Kate the bartender who brought in cider for our final night, I cannot say enough about how fantastic our vacation was staying at this property. A jewel in the Best Western family for sure!

    5
« Great Visit. What a wonderful theme to a hotel »

This was a great stay. It was very clean. The hotel is in a beautiful section of Maine. The filibuster lounge was very friendly although the drinks were a little too pricey. But what a great social atmosphere with the TV, music, bar, and bartenders. The whole theme of the white house is exquisite.

    4
« Love it here, but please watch for Value! »

I stay here quite often- nearly once a month. It seems to be getting pricier, despite my staying in smaller and smaller rooms (ie single queen corner room) Its becoming a little difficult to rely on for "value". I will come back, as long as I can afford it!

    5
« Extremely comfortable beds & great WiFi »

For the room rate, we expected a more basic hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel overall. Beds were extremely comfortable. WiFi was fast and reliable. The breakfast bar was varied and fresh. Great value!

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here on our annual New England Fall Trip. This time we stayed on the first floor. The room was clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was that we could hear people rolling their luggage and talking as they passed our room. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. It is close to 95, a short drive to a casino and Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park are about an hour and a half away.

    « OK at best »

Arrived here late only to find that the room we booked through trip advisor was misrepresented on trip advisor. We paid for a pet friendly room with 2 queen beds and paid extra to be on the second floor since their 3rd floor rooms have a slanted ceiling. The room we got was a 3rd floor pet friendly room that smelled like body odor and mold. We told the front desk that we paid for the 2nd floor room only to find out there are no pet friendly rooms on the 2nd floor. They had our number and yet they did not bother to call to let us know because we booked via 3rd party (trip advisor). They didnt even give us a reduced cost for having a 3rd floor room despite charging us the same rate as a 2nd floor room. After about 20 min of talking to the front desk personnel, he said we can take a look at a one 2nd floor room they have available. Took a look only to find it reeking of cigarette smoke. Told them we can't take either room and after 20 more minute of complaining, he finally gave us the room we originally paid for. Lesson learned. Don't book through a 3rd party because they will not make easy accommodations and just blame the 3rd party website for listing the room incorrectly. Best to book directly or a website that guarantees the booking.

« Convenient, Clean and Excellent Value »

First time guests here and a wonderful stay. Check in was smooth and professional. The room was perfect with all the little amenities that made it more comfortable. A brief stop down at the lounge for a cocktail and the bartender was very welcoming. The complimentary breakfast was just right down off the lobby. We will be back and we enjoyed having Dysart's just a short walk away.

    « A Beautiful Spot »

This is our Inn of choice in Bangor. It is a lovely property and we always get treated very well. The rooms are spacious and clean. Front desk is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is amazing. It is very close to the I95 and still it is very quiet.

« Convenient, Clean, Comfortable but Noisy »

We liked everything about our stay here except the highway noise. The accommodations were clean, the room was set up with two comfortable chairs at the table for a relaxed evening and the beds were firm and comfortable. Breakfast provided an unusually wide assortment of choices: multiple cereals, 3 egg dishes, 3 meat selections, sausage gravy and biscuits, plus both waffles and pancakes. Their breads weren't particularly good and the fresh fruit selection was limited but that may be quibbling. Our only reservation was, despite having reserved a room 10 days in advance, we were on the highway which was quite noisy. The fellow at the desk said that 'next time I should specify a room on the quiet side.' I will certainly follow his suggestion if we were to stop here again.

« On our way to Boston »

We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was good! The guess service was Great! We were on our way to Boston and this hotel is just off the highway. We also enjoyed a nice meal in the truck stop next door to the hotel!

« Wonderful Place to Stay »

We stay here often, beds and rooms are very comfortable , the breakfast is awesome. I highly recommend this hotel .Easy on and off the highway and the best part is they are PET FRIENDLY which is super important to us .

« Good hotel in good location to I95. »

This was a good hotel in a good location coming off the I95. Rooms were clean; however, the two rooms initially given to us on the first floor smelled of smoke. Staff apologized and provided us with two other rooms. This was one of three Best Western Hotels we stayed in within the past week. The Breakfast Room was the nicest of the three and the largest. The breakfast provided were great and staff were great. We would recommend this Best Western Hotel.

« Central reservations got our booking wrong, no one could fix it. »

We didn't get to stay here for a full review. Good thing I double-checked the reservation. Called 1-800 3 days ago. Was offered two room types, both with 2 queens and a fold-out sofa to accommodate us and our two teens. I took the more expensive "executive" room. Looked at the reservation today and it said 2 queens. Called hotel direct and got lackluster, unprofessional response, so I called 1 800 # back again. Person who offered me the exec room with a fold out got it wrong, apparently. Now they don't have the other room type available. Their solution was to charge me even more to add a roll-away to the more expensive category room I had booked. I said I'd accept the error if I wasn't charged for the rollaway, but no one had the authority to waive the additional fee, so I cancelled. Central reservations should know what they're talking about.

« Know before you go »

I don't know about any other room beside ours. We were on the 3rd floor (which the room description said it was a 3rd floor room). I now know why it tells you this. Our room had the "attic" ceiling. Me, being short, didn't have as many issues. My husband hit his head several times on the ceiling. The room was small. Breakfast, however, was good.

« Older property but unique and well maintained »

This BW property dates back to the 1950s but has a unique Presidential theme. Warm greeting in a great lobby. Cookies in the lobby too !! EXCELLENT breakfast in a nice room. Nice walking path thru a field next to the Inn. Clean comfy room. Friendly and informative staff.

    « Friendly Stop »

We were very happy that we chose to stay in the Best Western White House Inn. It has a charm and character all its own. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful A non functioning coffee maker in the room was promptly replaced. The room and the bed were so comfortable and such a welcome place to be after a long day of travel.. Breakfast was excellent -a wide choice of items and hot and ready when we were. All in all a great stay

    5
« Nice motel interesting decor »

Stayed here on a stop sight seeing in the Acadia Park area. Convenient location right off highway. Large clean room. Breakfast was very good with a large assortment of food choices. Large dining room. Area around motel included fields rather than buildings (other than a truck stop with a decent diner near by on one side).

« Nice hotel, great breakfast »

We stayed here, two rooms for family weekend at U. Maine. It was nice, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was much better than most hotels offer and included something for everyone in our party. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone traveling to the University.

    5
    « Great as usual! »

As always, a great stay. We came in very late and were able to get into our room without hassle. We love the hot tub. It wasn't as hot as it normally is, but still felt wonderful!! This is the only hotel we stay in. Thank you!

« Homey and well run »

My husband and I stayed 2 nights and it was like being at home. The suite we had was well appointed and the beds were amazingly soft. The bathroom was well outfitted with everything you could need and plenty of towels. The breakfast was one of the most varied I've had at a hotel where breakfast is included. There were eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, pancakes, bagels, toast, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, and more.

« Our New Best Place to Stay in Bangor! »

Unique room; very comfortable and clean with plenty of Green Mountain coffee and a Keruig. Excellent staff everywhere in the hotel, and THE BEST breakfast at ANY "breakfast included place" EVER! Let me remind you to leave some tips; they're well deserved!!

« Single Stay in Fall »

Arrived late one night and left the next morning. didn't get a chance to use the pool or any other hotel facilities. But the room was clean and nice, breakfast was good. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. overall the facility was very nice.

    « a good value »

We have stayed a BW before. The breakfasts are good. The bed is always comfortable. They put the air on in the room before arrival so it is not stuffy. This hotel had a separate jacuzzi with a waterfall just off the lobby

« Staying here tonite! not a great hotel! »

I must admit, I did not see that this hotel was not a Best Western Plus or Premier when I booked..... The hotel is old...and on sunday nite there is no Bar opened and hard to get food around here, except for the Truck Stop Place nearby or an awful pizza deliverd by Domino's. I guess the room is clean but at first there was a funny smell...entering the room. I felt like cancelling...but since we were tired, decided to stay. Would not recommend it. As I read the rating on the CAA/AAA Travel book, I was under the impression that there was a fridge and micro. No such a thing in our King size bedroom. stayed in better Best Western. Draft saved at 7:38 PM..

« Great place to stay for business or leisure »

We decided to stay here based on Best Western reputation but this is one of the best run Best Western hotels I have stayed in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was awesome with so many different choices. The hallways had pictures and history of Presidents and First Ladies. It is truly the white House of Hotels.

    « Fun visit »

Facility was well-maintained overall. Breakfast was great, particularly as it had hot and cold food with good flavor INCLUDED in the price of the room. AC/vent was not active in room upon checking in, room was 80 degrees. AC worked well, but took a while for the room to get down to a confortable temperature. Only true "issue" we experienced was with housekeeping. Room not serviced by 330 and then they wanted to service it while we were napping. So no service that day. One of our occupants cut their foot on something sharp in the carpet, so we were eager for the carpet to be vacuumed on day 2... however just the beds were made and the towels replaced. Debris from carpet remained and our items that had beem on the bed before the room was serviced emded up on the floor and were left there by the housekeeper. We did notify the front desk of this when we checked out and they adjusted our rate a small bit. Would absolutely stay there again. Full of character! Not your cookie cutter hotel.

    5
« Nice hotel close to Airport and Mall »

We have stayed at this property a couple of times. The rooms look a bit date, but they are large and very clean. Also a large LCD TV and plenty of channels to catch a game or a movie. Breakfast is included and it is very good. The highlight most definitely is their staff. They are very professional and friendly group. We highly recommend it.

    5
    « Comfortable beds. »

This is the first time we have stayed at this Motel and we enjoyed it very much. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room we stayed in was very nicely decorated and we slept well in their nice comfortable bed. We are planning on coming back soon.

    « White House Inn »

This was our second time to stay at this hotel. The room we had (both this time and the first time we visited) was great ... very clean and comfortable. The employees are very personable and helpful. They really know the area and can advise you of places to see. I love the fact that they have a lot of "Presidential" items at the hotel. They have life-sized cutouts of President Obama and President Kennedy. There is a wonderful painting of the actual White House on the wall that shows each past President's picture standing in front of the White House. The last time we were here was in March of 2014 and there was a lot of snow. This time our trip was in August and the weather was just spectacular. There is absolutely no doubt that when we return to Bangor, Maine, we will be staying at the White House Inn.

    3
    « Nice Beds »

Decided to run to Bangor a day earlier than planned and this Hotel came up with the best rooms for the price. Check it was easy and fast and the staff were friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated. The hotel has some what of a stale smell yet the rooms were spotless. Thus is an animal friendly hotel and we were awakened by dogs barking at 7AM. After a late night out it was a little annoying to say the least. The continental breakfast was very good with ample selection to choose from. Not my first choice but way ahead of others I have camped out at on interstate 95....

    « Freindly and convient »

This is a comfortable family friendly homey Down East place to stay if you are passing through or are visiting the area. Very convenient to I-95. It is within a short walk of a very good truck stop for lunch, dinner or breakfast. The swimming pool and hot tub are nice for parent and children alike. I have stayed here in the past when my children were young, and the got a kick out of staying at the White House.

    5
    « Always a pleasant check in »

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 10-15 years. Staff are friendly and always willing to assist in any way they can! We like it for the ease of access of the highway, clean comfortable quiet rooms, which also accommodate our dog, when we bring her along! Close to Dysarts ( which has the best breakfast ) Fall allows for scenic views, and they have a nice walking trail in the field which is nice!

    5
« OVERNIGHT ON RETURN HOME »

The White House Inn is our favorite Best Western, period! Great staff, pool was still open and refreshing, and they have the absolute best breakfast selection of any Best Western we have ever stayed in.

    « nice hotel »

Looked like the White House. Had themed rooms. Room was clean & staff was friendly. Great pool and hot tub. Breakfast was wonderful. The location was great-the general area was not busy and it was close to everywhere we wanted to go.

    5
    « Great location »

Stayed here while taking my son to college at EMCC. Great location with a great truck stop restaurant within walking distance that had amazing locally sourced food. Pool and hot tub were clean and large. Decor was shocking but in a fantastic way. Felt like I was traveling back in time but with modern conveniences. Rooms were spotless, great size and beds were comfy. The breakfast was outstanding with many choices including chicken sausage for non pork eaters. Many hot dishes and yogurts with different toppings. Also a great tea selection for those not wanting coffee or plain black tea. Will definitely revisit this establishment

    « Maine vacation hotel »

We were looking for a reasonably priced rom while on a Maine vacation. This hotel is in a quiet area, and was in our price range. After check-in, the front desk called to make sure the room was satisfactory for us. They also gave us a voucher to use in the lounge downstairs, so my husband received a complimentary beer. There was only one other customer in the lounge, so we were able to sit and watch the evening news while he drank his beer. A very nice hotel.

    5
    « Everthing was great »

Staff very courteous, rooms were clean, but few things could be updated (maintenance). Would stay there agiain with no hesitation. Price was reasonable. Breakfast looked great but we were unable to attend unfortunately. Would recommend to anyone.

    « underwhelming stay »

This hotel is in dire need of a refit. Flooring in public areas is dirty and worn, with a strong scent of lemon cleaner in corridors. The lift is particularly grimy and unpleasant. The breakfast area is large and looks out over farmland, which is lucky as the other side of the hotel looks over a large truck stop, so don't come for the view. The breakfast is large, but not particularly appetising or well presented, and coffee is awful. We stayed in a large room with 3 beds which was clean (other than carpeting) and well equipped. Beds are comfortable.

    4
    « Presidential Theme & Great Breakfast »

We stayed on our way to Nova Scotia because it was a good half-way point for us. We had a double queen room with a small skylight. The double queens made the room seem smaller than it actually was. Small bathroom with an in-room sink, but a great shower. Every staff member that we encountered was friendly and helpful. The fan in our room had one speed only - high, which was not great for sleeping. I reported it the next morning and they seemed genuinely grateful to know about it. The desk clerk had called our room soon after we checked in to see if everything was okay. Had I known about the fan then, I'm pretty sure they would have responded. Breakfast options were abundant. We've stayed in a number of places that included breakfast, but this hotel had more choices than we'd experienced elsewhere: eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, and the usual breakfast options. the Presidential theme in the Lobby is Interesting, and includes some period furniture. There were also a gallery of portraits of the First Ladies on our floor with short but interesting tidbits. I don't recall what floor but you could ask. Lots of amenities: nice lounge downstairs, gym, outdoor heated pool, indoor pool.

« Stopping for the night »

The Best Western White House Inn is a great place to stay!! They are always accommodating and welcoming. They are also pet friendly and have a lovely meadow walk for dogs. The included breakfast is a treat when driving long distances. We stay there when driving between Nova Scotia and Boston.

    5
« Convenient for the highway »

We have stayed at this hotel twice. It has a great location close the throughway. Rooms are clean and well appointed. For this traveller, it is quite expensive, but the convenient location makes it a great place to stop for the night. Oh yes - and there is a great truck restaurant close by!

    « Friendly and Clean! »

Clean, friendly atmosphere. My Mom loved the decor! Not too far from the mall if you wish to do a little shopping. Breakfast waffles were great too! The beds were comfy, clean, included a fridge and keurig machine too!

    « Great Hotel »

We recently stayed at this hotel while visiting Bangor, Maine. It was clean, well appointed, and very well managed by all staff members. We would recommend this hotel to all travelers in the area. The pool, spa and exercise rooms are immaculate and very convenient. The breakfast was delicious and the staff person was helpful and very efficient.

    5
« Took good care of me »

I booked a reservation here so we could stay in Bangor for the Jimmy Buffett concert. The whole town was sold out, and I booked my room weeks in advance. On the day of the concert, I called to confirm and realized with the help of a very friendly front desk person that I'd booked my room on the wrong day! Luckily, the hotel accommodated me - probably with a cancellation. The woman who helped me was very nice and reassuring. The rooms are clean, nice and very comfortable. The cookies at check in were a nice touch too. We left early so we didn't take advantage of breakfast.

    5
    « Clean and Convenient »

The Best Western White House Inn is located right off of the I-95 which makes it a perfect place to stay if you are traveling by. The rooms are clean and there is an outdoor pool. There is also a large indoor hot tub, the biggest hot tub I've ever seen. The free breakfast has the most variety of hot breakfast foods of any inn I've stayed at. The baked goods are all from Dysart's, which is the truck stop nearby the inn. I highly recommend this inn.

    5
    « Always a pleasure »

I've lost count of the number of times we have stayed here. Great location just off 95, good diner near the property. Outdoor pool was very nice, and open at 6:00 a.m.; great indoor whirlpool to relax after a long trip, great exercise room, great choices in the free breakfast room. Front desk is very helpful. Staff is very friendly. Lots of other extras. And pet friendly!

    5
« Great Suites, Great Price »

They have several "themed" suites that are huge and well appointed. They are larger than some apartments, and have a Jacuzzi and a large shower. The furnishings are excellent and a welcome basket with goodies was supplied. To get a suite in Bangor during peak tourist season at this price was great!

« Great Staff and Clean Place to Stay »

The room was clean and had all the supplies we needed except a mini fridge. The Staff was excellent. Breakfast had a lot of choices. We arrived late at night and got great service. Available reading books on the 1st floor was a nice added feature.

    5
    « Comfortable Stay »

We had a great stay at Best Western White House Inn. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We are a family of four and there was plenty of room in the room for all of us. Breakfast was fresh and well stocked. I would certainly stay there again.

    5
    « Will return »

Comfortable clean room in original building (226). Outstanding housekeeping, breakfast, and front desk staff. Will stay again next time we visit the area. Next to Dysart's. a well-known truck stop + restaurant. "Continental breakfast" I would characterize as "hot breakfast," includes meat, eggs, etc. Working AC in room. Thumbs up. "Accessible" 2 queen room: Roomy bathroom with low-step tub and plentiful grab bars, and height-adjustable hand-held shower as well as fixed shower head. Toilet is wheelchair and Hoyer lift accessible. Tub is of course not accessible unless you are actually able to stand and/or sit up by yourself or bring a helper to carry you.

    5
    « Very nice hotel »

the price is very attractive too. the hotel is clean and quiet. And the breakfast is abundant. Check-in Check out is very fast. The location is good as well, between Quebec and Acadia. They also provide outdoor pool and in door gym

    « Maine Stop Over »

Just off the highway so very convenient. A/C was noisy but the property is very clean and very well maintained. Breakfast was great! Breakfast was exceptional compared to other Best Western locations we stayed this summer.

« The Little White House »

We attended a family event in Bangor, ME and stayed at the hotel for one night. It was clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly. We arrived earlier than check in and they checked us in, and notified us when our room was ready because they were cleaning it. My only problem was the A/C unit in our room. If I were staying longer, I would have asked them to check it out. It was an old wall installed unit, it was loud and vibrated and appeared to need a filter change or some kind of service because I have dust allergies and felt it get very dusty and stuffy even though it cooled. We shut it off, and opened windows, and though warm throughout the night, it was better than leaving the A/C unit on. I thought we were going to get a continental breakfast, but there were scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon and sausages and it was actually pretty good.

    4
    « Acadia »

Got room online, it was more affordable, and had rooms available, which was not the case on Mt. Desert Island. It was a long ride to Bar Harbor and the park, but certainly a pleasant stay. All services avail;able at the truck stop next door, noise was not an issue.

    4
« Nice hotel with friendly staff »

Close to the interstate, which made it easy to find, but it was a bit noisy. The staff were wonderful and we enjoyed staying at the hotel. It was clean, the breakfast room was very well maintained and big enough to not feel crowded even when very busy.

    5
« Stay in Bangor Maine »

We stayed at the Best Western in Maine so that we could go to the SK Tours. The person who checked us in was a Stephen King fan and shared some thoughts on his books with us. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast in the morning! Overall, very satisfied!

« Not Your Typical BW »

More like a very large B&B with multiple color schemes and furniture more reminiscent of colonial home. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was better than most B&W's with real bacon and other meat options. Also had pancake and waffle makers. Fresh cookies at the front desk and Keurig coffee maker in the room! Handy location right off the highway. My reasons for only three stars are that the entire building had this orangey cover-up smell; our room on the third floor had only one window and that was a small skylight. To make matters worse it was covered by a shade that opened only half way, not for the claustrophobic. The a/c was off when we walked in and the room was warm and humid and didn't feel comfortable until the next morning with the a/c running all night. Room was clean except for the baseboards in the bathroom

    5
« Great value, great breakfast, nice clean property »

The Best Western White House is a clear departure from Interstate access properties. It is adjacent to the terrific Dysart's Restaurant and is a clean well managed hotel. Cannot beat the value if you are traveling through the area.

    4
    « Consistently good »

I chose to stay at this property because of its convenient location near the highway and especially because of their dog friendly policy (I travel with a great dane). Have been here in winter and summer and it is always consistent product.

    5
« Waiting For The Carravan »

This was supposed to be a one nighter, but ended up being three because of a family sickness that postponed my wife. Because I had to extend my stay twice, I found the staff very accommodating. The hotel has a nice pool and hot tub, which my sons and I enjoyed. The hotel breakfast was OK - all prefab. Because we travel this route yearly I would defiantly stay here again,

    5
« Good value, convenient location »

Conveniently located off the I-95 this is a surprisingly well equipped and well run Best Western. The room was a decent size (important for 4 adults in one room) with a refrigerator. We took advantage of the outdoor pool and the hot tub. The bar downstairs has comfortable chairs and was a great location to relax after a day of driving. The breakfast selection was large and the food good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

    4
    « Comfy »

Great dog walk through the hay field full of Queen's Anne lacy in bloom. Best breakfast east of the Canadian border. Homestyle dinner nearby at Dysart's completes a "comfort" visit. Hotel is top of the hill above truck stop; however, we slept well. Highway I95 is nearby and can be busy early in the morning. Great location and clean. No complaints.

    4
    « Lovely Place »

The White House Inn is a lovely place to stay. The staff was extremely courteous and pleasant. The room and the bath were very clean. However, I must say, for the area it is located, it is extremely dated and stuffy. Its closest neighbor is a truck stop. The info packet does not recommend any "fun" youthful activities available in the area. For a retired couple in their 60's or 70's it would be quite pleasant. For a younger couple in their 30's, not a lot to offer other than a clean comfortable place to sleep.

    2
« I'm shocked people like this BW that much ... »

I just have a major problem with people rating this hotel so hightly. Out of the 5 hotels I stayed at in Maine this was by far the worst. The only thing I can say positive about this BW is that the front desk clerk was friendly and there were no bugs running all over. Location: It says its near the airport, which is a very long stretch. Its as close to the airport as the entire town of Bangor is, which is to say, its a tiny town. The hotel is along a major highway, so your room is going to be noisy. The hotel is right next door to a very large truck stop and fuel center which can bring its own problems. Rooms: We arrived very late at night with the hotel almost sold out. There was a line of 3 parties at 11pm so it took 20 minutes to check in. Our room did not have the air conditioning left on, the high that day was 93 and humid. So it took 2 hours for it to cool since no other rooms were available we couldn't switch. We had an early flight in the morning so it made my night's sleep very brief. I wouldn't say the room was clean, but I wouldn't say anything was new since 2000. We had two beds in the room, both very uncomfortable, one hard as a rock, the other softer then a 70's waterbed. We were on the top floor which had a severely slanted roof and only one angled window, which was weird, and also which let in all the light in the morning. Amenities: The breakfast is the usual BW that you find at all of them. There is a pool out back, which we didn't have time to use. There are theme rooms that we didn't look into, but maybe they would have been nicer. I won't be returning to this BW. Location is bad. The rooms haven't been updated in at least 20 years. The white house theme is very odd. Not dirty, just not worth a penny over 50 bucks. You pass 5 other better hotels on the way to the airport.

    5
    « Education & Location »

The White House is on #95 south of Bangor. All 3 floors are packed with POTUS history with pictures of all presidents and first ladies as well as much other interesting information & photos. A great place for families with school age kids. Good pool, excellent breakfast.

    3
    « Okay place »

We used air miles for this place so I'm glad we didn't pay cash. We were on third floor in small dated room. Bathroom was clean. Hotel is kind of neat but could use an update. Staff were friendly. Location is right off hi-way so a bit noisy. Had nice outdoor pool but we didn't make use. Seemed like a lot of truckers staying.

We were disappointed in the small size of our room- mostly due to the slanted ceiling and the bare sprinkler pipes showing. Our room was very warm. Had to leave for a couple of hours for it to cool a bit. Air in hallways was very warm and stale. Air conditioner in room was loud and didn't work that great. I've stayed there several times and this was the worst room I've ever had. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The reason I go there are the queen sized beds and the breakfast. Best I've had in any local hotel.

very quite location nice staff very friendly made you feel welcome good breakfast they had turkey sausage and a good mix of hot and cold food clean good beds nice and comfortable I said on the top floor nice and cool

« Even have the current President in the lobby... »

Right off the highway. Since the last time we stayed, they've added a new addition and refurbished all the rooms. Beds were comfy, lots of pillows, great water pressure, quick hot water and cookies from Dysarts. Air conditioner kept us really cool but was noisy, sink faucet set too far back for much room under water stream. Still, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

    « Saved Our Night »

Weary from a super long drive we got the last pet friendly room in the place. The staff was great, bed was comfy, pool warm and a nice size. Cool little lounge available for a drink with a great bartender, and a free breakfast to boot! Great place

« Older but nice and great service »

This hotel is clearly older, but very clean rooms with decent beds and very comfortable. The air conditioner was old and noisy but worked well. Service was friendly and they called to make sure that our room was comfortable - nice touch to me. It felt like they work harder than most hotels to ensure the comfort of guests and we appreciated that.

    « Repeat stay »

We are BW reward member so we try to stay at White House Best Western when in Bangor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we arrived the worker at the desk was training a young girl. The young girl was doing very well in explaining where everything was and how to get to our room obviously the young gentlemen training her was doing a great job. Our room was clean and for the first time about a half hour after we checked in we received a call from front desk asking if everything was ok with the room. I thought that was very nice.

    « Overnight stay »

Very helpful at the desk and the room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was adequate, coffee was good and fresh. The grounds around the hotel seemed to be well taken care of. Enjoyed my stay.

We arrived in Bangor White House Best Western at check in time where our room was ready and waiting for us. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful with explaining all the hotel had to offer. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We had a courtesy call from the front desk to make sure our room was satisfactory. This is the first time I had this in a hotel. The outdoor pool was perfect after a long drive. The next morning the breakfast had hot and cold items to choose from. We were there one night and I would recommend it to anyone.

    « Very disappointed! »

My husband and I stayed here a couple of years ago and it was good. We stayed last night and was very disappointed. The hotel needs a good cleaning. We were in a rush to go to a concert and when I went to the washroom there was feces on the toilet. My husband went downstairs to tell the front desk and they did come and clean it but I was grossed out. The room was very dusty- headboard of bed and there was a vibrating chair which was filthy! I definitely would not stay here again.

    « Terrific »

After a long day traveling we were relieved to drive up to this hotel. Friendly people, dog walking path. Great hot tub. Referred us to the Angler's restaurant, which was a wonderful choice. We discovered that several of our friends stay here on their ways to vacation. It was a great stop.

« great place to stay »

The rooms are nice, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is great, there is a nice bar on the premises, and there's a first rate walking path for dogs. We have been staying there every year for a long time.

    « Noisy stay »

Really clean room. Kind people and good service but it's at a truck stop with a million trucks, right on a really noisy highway. We found the rooms very clean and pleasant. There's a microwave, fridge and plenty of room to move around. Big, comfy beds. But way too noisy for me.

« Great place to stay »

We stayed here for a wedding and the place was great. Breakfast was awesome and staff was very friendly. This hotel also very pet friendly. Had an excellent time staying here. My son enjoyed heated outdoor pool and my husband enjoyed the hot tub.

« Celebrating Nine years of Marriage. »

Stayed in the Romance themed room, celebrating our Ninth Wedding anniversary. The fire place and Jacuzzi tub were amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The local restaurant next door and the lounge on site made for easy access to anything that we may need. It was a great environment to reconnect in. Also the breakfast was AMAZING!!. Thank you for the great stay. We look forward to coming back again.

« Friendly staff, comfortable beds, and next door to delicious blueberry pie! »

The White House Inn was our home for 6 nights while we visited family in Bangor. It was a very pleasant surprise! The room was huge with 2 king sized beds and a beautiful fireplace. The beds were very plush and comfortable, and the quiet surroundings made it easy to get a good night's sleep. There was a large closet and many charging stations all around the room. The staff was very friendly, and the location was perfect. The inn is across the street from Dysart's restaurant which serves the best blueberry pie I've ever eaten. Overall, it was a great experience!

« Best of the Best »

We have stayed at many Bestwestern's across the nation. I have to say that so far to date this is our favorite. The staff is very friendly. The front entrance, hallways, and our Room were immaculate. The room we stayed in was a ground level room next to outside access. The interstate is a few hundred feet away yet you could absolutely not hear highway traffic. The breakfast was fantastic. They items included but not limited to, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, egg omelette, hot cakes, waffles, dry cereal, hot cereal to make, hash, bacon, sausage, juices, milk, yogurt, baked breads, muffins, bagels, bread for toast, biscuits, gravy, coffee, tea, and donuts. The breakfast starts at six and goes until 10 am. Now that's a plus. There is a indoor hot tub, out door pool, work out area and a small bar down stairs. There is a truck stop Resturant with in walking distance that has very good meals. With take out available. The wifi at the hotel is lighting fast. I usually don't connect because of how slow most hotel wifi is. I actually have an app to test speed. It was an amazing 41.55 Mbps down load and 6.09 Mbps upload. And just to throw it in there for you techies the Ping was an amazing 10 mili seconds. Oh yes one last thing I almost forgot. They have a single serve Keurig in the room. ??

    « White House! »

Nice BW hotel, not typical. Great presidential theme. Breakfast was really nice with lots of selections. Motorcycle friendly. Friendly & helpful staff. Quiet with a great pool & lively grounds. Close to Bangor, about 4 miles away. I would come back next time I'm up this way.

« White House Inn is the BEST! »

We loved our room... and the price! The White House Inn was VERY reasonably priced. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful - pointed us right to Angler's for a seafood dinner (delicious shrimp and oysters) and let us know there was a Gifford's ice cream place not far from we'd be visiting that evening. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices. Our room was very nice, very clean, and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again...and would recommend it to anyone traveling through Bangor, Maine area!

    3
« On the way up to Canada »

We needed a place to stay going North on the Maine Turnpike, and this Inn fit the bill--conveniently located right off I-95 just below Bangor and at a rate of $70. The room itself was tired looking large with decent amenities. The biggest letdown was the shower whose faucet was either scalding hot or freezing cold. We would probably stay there again if the rate was the same.

    3
    « Great location - bad AC »

The location of the hotel and the cleanliness of the room were excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. BUT they need to upgrade the window AC units. The AC in the room I was in rattled and groaned and chugged it's way through the night. It was so loud I thought someone was vacumming all night.... :(

    « In Route Stop »

Great in route stop and located next to well known Dysart Truck Stop and Restaurant. Stop once and you will want to return every opportunity you have. Rooms are well furnished, great mattresses and amenities. Staff pleasant, polite, well informed about area and quick to supply information. This was not my first stay at the white house and it will not be my last for sure.

    3
    « Simple And Easy »

Located right off of I 95 this is a simple and clean hotel with very friendly staff. Should you be looking for Ritz/Waldorf Amenities this is not the place for you. However, should you be looking for affordable clean lodging for business you can not go wrong staying here. Free WIFI, Free Breakfast, Decent sized rooms, and a nice little gym. Should this be compared to other hotels in the same category (business/commuter Hotels) I feel it would have a higher rating. As the hotel simply does not have a number of the true resort amenities. *Very helpful staff

« cute and convient hotel »

The rooms are very well set up, I love the fireplace in the suite. gives it a very cozy feeling. The room was very clean, the towels and sheets actually smelled clean. which si a huge plus for hotels in Bangor.

    « Very nice »

Room is very clean, had a small frig and microwave and coffee maker, good size flat screen TV. Towels are nice not sandpaper like some places I've been in the past. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is the only let down in my opinion. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

« Don't let the high price fool you - this is not a nice hotel »

From the view overlooking a capped landfill to our out-dated room with a sloped ceiling and miniature bathroom this hotel was a complete disappointment. The fitted sheet covering the box spring had holes, the ceiling had exposed pipes that made noise all night, the mattress was old and broken so that my husband and I kept rolling to the middle, and the common areas had an unpleasant odor that was far from welcoming. These could have been forgiven if the room had included any way to keep the sun from invading our east-facing room at 5:00 am. The third floor room, that we paid a premium for, featured no window but a skylight with a cheap roller shade that was tied to an anchor. The sides drooped down and the sun poured in. I complained to the front desk, at 5:30, that the website should be sure to include this in the description and that it was frustrating to have been charged a premium to be on the third floor away from sleep disturbing noise only to be awakened by the sun. There was no attempt at compensation of any form. Disappointing stay and we will not be back during the upcoming 4 years that our daughter attends UMaine.

    « Great stay! »

My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights on our way to Quebec on our Harley (from Texas). The hotel was comfortable and clean. The rooms are fantastic and the hotel's layout is a nice change from the typical hotel, giving it a great vibe. The location is close to the highway and about 3 miles (exits on the highway) from the main thoroughfare through Bangor. Fireplace in the room was nice. Breakfast was good.

    5
« We always stay here if we can. »

We love this place, great rooms, great buffet breakfast, and spa/pool.The coupon specials are great. The hotel bar coupon are a nice touch. We usually have no complaints, however this time, our reservation were misfile. As an result of the misfiled reservation, we ended up waiting about a half-hour for a room. Long story. We got our "usual discount". I think, next time, I will book online as I can get a bigger discount than using my AAA or AARP card.

    « Beyond Disappointed »

The room was designated dog-friendly. Not sure why? Because the windows couldn't open and the bed topper was stained with what must have been dog excrement? We had to throw it in the closet. Our dog was a bit too interested in it and we didn't want an accident to occur. Nor did we want to see it. The room smelled and we could not get rid of the odor. We could only minimize it by shutting off the air conditioner which made the room miserably hot! Although we were told all rooms had windows you could open, this room did not have that ability. There was a huge grass field that was mowed to allow you to walk your dog which was nice, but no poop bags were provided. Cigarette butts were everywhere around the back entrance doors. Breakfast had numerous choices but the hard boiled eggs were kept heated making them unpaletteable. There was yogurt but it was too sweet so I suspect it had aspartame which I try to avoid. Better to provide individual yogurts so you can know what you are eating. We were extremely disappointed in this hotel.

    « Old »

Stay at this hotel, booked from priceline. Older and lots a carpet. Smelled old. Staff were nice, we had 309 and no window, jusy a skylight window, and room was small ceiling low , table was placed where you can bump your head easyly. Which happened couple times. Fridge had left over items, bed were not comfy at all. Felt like we were placed in that due to a booking from priceline. Not sure if I would ever return to that hotel. One Bonus was the breakfast buffet. Best we have seen.

    2
    « Very noisy »

If you room is over or near the lounge expect boom boom music till closing. Front desk will just give lip service on the problem..... We were told it was a concert playing downtown. Guess the beer revenues are better than the rooms. So unlike Best western chain

    « Wonderful staff »

We stayed here overnight and everyone was very nice and pleasant. The breakfast went beyond the typical free breakfast with a huge selection of hot foods. Buffet breakfast, not the typical continental you see elsewhere.

« A little out of Bangor but worth the extra few minutes »

Stayed last weekend. The room is standard, Beds were comfortable and room clean. Had a fridge Microwave and a Keurig and pods in room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was great and extensive. More options than I thought would be offered. The usual cold offerings plus hot buffet serving scrambled eggs, Cheese Omelettes, Sausages, Bacon, Beans, Corned Beef Hash and more. Also Waffles and Pancakes with many toppings. Would stay again for sure.

    3
« Okay Room but Great Customer Service »

The room was dirty with left over food and garbage under the bed, but when I discussed this with the front desk personnel they were very helpful and willing to take a percentage off the cost of the room.

    4
« Don't Be Put Off By All The Trucks! »

I must say we were initially put off by all the trucks and the apparently isolated location. It turns out that Dysart's restaurant/truck stop next door is a popular spot in Bangor although traveling with our dog and with warm summer weather we opted for the short drive back into downtown Bangor to West Market Square where there are several restaurants/pubs with patios and at least two that are dog friendly. We would certainly return to the Best Western White House Inn with friendly and helpful staff, a great hot breakfast selection and dog friendly with a walking path behind the hotel.

    5
    « Very good hotel »

Very good and clean hotel. Excellent breakfast, with a lot of options. The staff was very friendly. Also, it's literally 2 min walk from Dystart, another excellent restaurant. I didn't get the chance to use the pool but it looked nice and clean.

    « Pleasant surprise »

We have made several shopping trips to Bangor over the years. Staying mostly in the Odlin Road area. We had never stayed here before. FYI if you are on the Odlin road where most of the hotels are, and drive south, for two minutes, it will take you to Dysarts truck stop. The BW is right next to the truck stop. Great staff. Very good breakfast. Location isn't near the mall, but not far at all. We were on the Dysarts truck stop side, and it was quiet. It is a bit dated, but fine. FYI the shower controls in our shower wasn't temp controlled. Meaning you can expect the odd cold or hot water rush. Good size TV in the room, with mini fridge and microwave. Would recommend this hotel.

    3
« Cirque du soleil weekend »

the location is not very good, weird place. Great service, nothing to say about that, very very good and continental breakfast. Not a fan of carpet in hotel rooms. very good tv size, very clean room..

    « Pack earplugs. »

All in all, very nice. I guess the room(s) I was in (I stayed here in two different rooms, once on the way out, and once on the way back) were in mid-remodel. The rooms themselves weren't bad - very clean, the beds were comfy, fridges and microwaves in the rooms, room safes, etc. Everything up to par. But the baths were in need of some TLC. Old tile and old fixtures. I took a point off for that. And one more point off for the window AC, which was L O U D. I did need earplugs to sleep; I was lucky I didn't need to set an alarm, for I don't know if I would have heard it. Or if I would have slept without the earplugs. They are trying really hard - the staff is first rate and very helpful - they will get there eventually.

« One night stay, great service and morning breakfast buffet. »

Arrived late on a Friday evening and had a nice warm greeting from the staff. Room was large and very clean. Used the outdoor pool which was heated. The next morning we were headed to the Summer Games for the Special Olympics and were leaving early, we were surprised by the large hot buffet they offered. Food was great, staff was great will go back next year.

« Everything that I needed for my stay. »

I stayed two nights at the White House Inn on business and there was everything that I needed to be ready for my appointments. The room was very clean with modern amenities while still keeping a stately atmosphere. One thing that was also a big plus was the complimentary breakfast buffet that didn't skimp on the selection. I was able to not have to search out a place nearby and then perhaps miss my early morning meeting. Next time I stay there I will be sure to use the pool and spa.

    5
    « Perfect! »

great room pleasant staff great price and location, free wifi is always a great feature, Front staff couldn't be nicer met with a friendly smile and a positive attitude location was a plus close to a great diner at dysarts with in walking distance thy have an outdoor pool

    « Great experience! »

My family and I stayed here a couple nights this past summer. Great experience and good location close to I95. We had the breakfast which was not bad. The room was very comfortable and spacious. There is a bar downstairs which I didn't get to check out.

    5
« Wonderful Hotel - not your typical place »

It was a wonderful treat to stay at this hotel. Everything was spotless and if you love American History, prepare to be charmed by all that you will see. The room that we stayed in did not have the typical decor of a couch. Instead it had a seating area that inciuded 2 wingback chairs with an ottoman and a table, besides having a computer desk. The chairs were so comfortable. The location of this hotel near Dysarts Restaurant is fabulous. If we are in the area again, we WILL stay here!!!

    5
    « A Great Value »

We frequently stay at the White House when traveling to Bangor. The staff is courteous, helpful, and are happy to have you as their guest. I appreciate the free weights, yoga mats, and treadmill in the fitness room, as well as it being open 24 hours. Breakfast has a good variety of hot and cold items. If an issue comes up, like neighboring guests being noisy during quiet times, the staff deals with the problem quickly.

    4
« First time to Bangor. This was not close to the airport, but accessible. »

Room on the 2nd floor, close to elevator as requested. We could hear the traffic from 95. , but only stayed one night. Easy to travel. At Exit 180, but this was not clear. Excellent breakfast, much variety!

    5
« The White House is the Place to Stay in Bangor, ME »

For convenience when traveling, the White House would be hard to beat. Very close to an Interstate 95 exit with no accompanying noise to disturb. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff friendly and helpful. The White House is dog friendly and includs a walking trail mowed through a field where dogs are invited to take a stroll!

    3
    « Mixed bag »

Tough call on this one. This is an old building. Rooms are smallish and the room layouts are old fashioned motel6 type. Not much you can do with that. The fire sprinkler was added on and the pipes are exposed. Still, the hotel seems to be well maintained. The bed was comfortable, mattress good. Television - an aged low res flat screen. The wall AC unit was too noisy - a common malady for non central AC. The bathroom had a used wash towel which was left by the housekeeping on the shower rod. There was also a stuffed toy teddy bear still wrapped in cellophane. Clearly the housekeeping is less than thorough. So ... Overall - average.

« Charming , clean and friendly staff »

I have stayed here 3 times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. Very quaint for a chain type hotel. No 5 star amenities but I nice nonetheless. Make sure to eat breakfast at Dysart's next door not your typical truck stop. Great hash and eggs!

    5
    « Always enjoyable »

What a cute hotel. I love the homey feeling. Very Clean, beautiful room with fireplace, great price and location. Good amenities too, ironing board, blow dryer and Keurig coffee maker in room. Loved the pillows!

    « Always a great time. »

The staff ensures the place is quiet at night. The breakfast has everything (and by that I mean bacon and eggs). It was too early in the season for the pool but we have enjoyed it during past visits. Cookies on the front desk counter add to the pleasure

    5
    « Enjoyed our visit! »

I have at the White House Inn Many times over the last 12 years and the hotel is always excellent .it has expanded and changed over the years adding a large new section with great entrance, lobby and breakfast/ meeting room and large suites. Great for that special getaway . they maintained the same great level of service through all the changes

    5
    « A solid choice - well located »

We have stayed here several times and will continue to choose the White House Inn. Reasonal prices, great location and access to the interstate. We especially liked the exercise room and the whirlpool. Free Wi-Fi and a breakfast buffet with many choices were also appreciated. And, furthermore, it's pet friendly!

this place was great place to stay. nicely located ( i liked how it was tucked out of sight ) but still close to everything you need. the room was the best i have stayed at thus far! the Lincoln Bedroom was out of this world with huge walk in showers, his and her's sinks and many other accessories in the room. this room was so nice i felt bad every time i had to leave it. there is so much room to move about without running into each other!

    5
« Great place to stay »

The room was comfortable and inviting. A lot of little added amenities that make it memorable to me: A night light,....a flashlight, too,.....reading "lamps" on each side of the bed (Why did I never encounter these at any other hotel???), Fluffy little pillows across the bed instead of 1 or 2 normal size ones. Loved this. The staff were friendly and courteous, too.

    « Lovely Themed Rooms »

I have stayed in the Captain's Themed Room on multiple occasions. It is quiet, lovely, and ideal for a night away to pamper yourself. The whirlpool tub, massage chair and gas fireplace are delightful.

    « Theme Rooms - Captain theme »

It is hard to find hotels in Maine with whirlpool or spa tubs. While these them rooms are over-priced (especially for off - season) they are well appointed and tub, fireplace, massage chair are in working order. A lovely, spacious room with nice decorum. The room begs for a comfy couch at the foot of the bed, however.

« Good Place to Stay in Bangor »

This was the third year we have stayed at this hotel with our cat on our way home from Florida. It was always a pleasant place to stay but this year we found the room even nicer and more comfortable. Obviously some upgrades have taken place. Front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Variety at breakfast is great. We will definitely be back.

    « Weekend Getaway »

Me and my wife were in Bangor for the weekend and we normally stay at another hotel however decided to try this one... Both of us loved this hotel the room we had was king size therefore it was a big room only thing we wish was it had a couch, however it had two wing back chairs and a table but still more than enough room for a couch... The room was really clean bed really comfortable... I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in this area, it's less than 10 mins from mall and shopping area's....

    4
    « A Night at the WhiteHouse »

We have stayed here before on our travels to and from Florida we find it ideally located and is our final stop before heading home to Nova Scotia, the only fault I could find was the noise from the traffic on the I95, but I am a light sleeper.

    5
    « Comfortable and welcoming »

We've gotten in late both times we have stayed there so far, so most amenities were closed, but Dysart's is right next door, so that is a good thing. Our daughter is going to Husson University in the fall, so it's perfect for us and close by.

« The White House staff always comes through »

I drive truck for a living and have to stay on the road twice a week. I always plan my trip so as to be able to stay at the White House Inn. I recently had to stay at two different locations because weather conditions did not allow me to make it to Bangor. I drive nights which means i have to sleep during the day. Sleeping during the day can be difficult so to help i like to have a fan on the night stand to help drown out the noises of daily activities. The staff at the White House always has a fan waiting in my room for me. When i was at the two other hotels i asked each clerk if they had a fan i could use to help me sleep and both said no. Neither was even willing to look or ask housekeeping. I was disappointed and said to myself the staff at the White House would have gone out of their way to make sure i had a fan. The White House is the place to stay!!!

    « Our 4th Great Stay »

We drive back from Florida every April and Bangor is our last overnight - we have stayed at the BW White House Inn four times now & we have had a great stay each time. The folks are very helpful, the Inn is charming & clean & very well kept. Breakfast is excellent - wish I could eat more!

    « You Can't go wrong here »

We booked this hotel through Price Line and were very happy with the lodging. We ended up with a king size bed in a room with windows that open to let in the fresh air. The front desk staff was friendly and recommended a nearby restaurant for dinner. The sheets on the bed were very nice and the room very clean. We highly recommend!

My corporate office is in the area and the White House is conveinent and very realiable for service and cleanliness. I stay here approximately once every other month and no matter how long between visits, the front desk clerk knows me as soon as I walk in. A great place to stay. Dave

Right next to the highway so easy to access. I was in town for business at the airport so it was a good location that was close by my destination. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very clean room, with a nice setup. Comfortable beds, pillows and room was stocked with all you would need. Breakfast was standard fare but delicious and plentiful. Enjoyed the lounge in the evening and the bartender was very pleasant to speak with.

    « Nice stay »

This is my third stay at this hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Building is in good condition. Breakfast is excellent. Lots of options, from 3 types of eggs, 2 kinds of bacon, hash, biscuits, breads, cereals, baked beans, etc... Will not leave hungry. My place of choice when in Bangor. Price is right.

    « Just OK »

The front desk employee was perfunctory but not overly friendly. The lobby seemed dark and was not that appealing. The breakfast was good but again, the attendant did not greet us or speak at any time while we were in the breakfast room.

    « Good »

Good and affordable hotel. We were surprised by interesting interior. Breakfast is included and was okay. The front desk clerk was kind and opened a breakfast room for us in the midnight to grab some coffee.

    « BW room »

Average hotel, not close to much. Considering this it was a bit pricier than you would expect. The only restaurant was Dysart's truck stop. Not bad fare, but no other choice within four or five miles.

« Just a Stopover on the Way Home »

We found the room spacious and the bed very comfortable. A large tv, clean and with lots of amenities. Reading rooms appeared to be on every level and the breakfast was superb. All in all the best place we stayed in our trip that involved several nights at different places.

    « Sanctuary »

We travel between New Jersey and Nova Scotia and this is the perfect overnight stop. It's clean, nicely decorated, friendly staff and yes, a very short walking distance to a fantastic truck stop. In this case a nearby truck stop is a plus not a minus. Homemade comfort food that eases the tension of weary travelers is served. If you would like a libation then the hotel has a cozy lounge downstairs for a cocktail or nightcap. The outdoor pool is good for swimming laps, or if it's closed then the indoor hot tub helps loosen the stiff muscles from long hours of driving. It's located right off of 95 so there is no wasted travel time. It was a wonderful place to recharge our batteries before continuing on our travels.

    « Off season travel »

After travelling to visit family in New Brunswick we decided to return to Quebec via the US. A friend recommended we stay at the BW White House Inn and we are glad we did. The room was clean the staff very friendly and the breakfast included was great.

    « Always' a pleasure. »

Friendly staff, breakfast daily, hot tub and clean rooms. Close to downtown Bangor. Casino 5 minutes away. Many restaurants of all kinds within minutes. Airport 5-10 minutes away. 2 hours from Portland and 2 hours from Houlton.

    « Clean and Comfortable »

This best western hotel is only a short drive from everything there is to do in Bangor. (Cross center, shopping, etc.) The rooms are very clean and the staff is great. The breakfast is fantastic and I would stay here again

    « An Excellent Stay »

During my stay at the Best Western White House Inn, I was consistently impressed by the conduct and demeanor of all the employees I encountered. Each employee went out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed and I was satisfied. The hotel itself was also immaculately clean, and everything I hoped it would be.

« Needs Additional handicapped accessibility »

There should be some thought in providing safety handles around tub/spa areas for handicapped guests. My husband and I stayed in the Lincoln theme room. He is partially paralyzed on the left side, both leg and arm. It was relatively easy getting into the in-room tub/spa, but getting him out was a nightmare. The tub was slippery and it took us over an hour to get him out, at which point he was exhausted and his blood pressure was sky high from all the stress and strain. A simple safety handle/bar or two would have been super helpful. We had planned this mini-vacation for over a year with great anticipation and that one unfortunate incident ruined the relaxing outcome we were expecting. I informed two front desk employees. One indicated that she would make a note of it and the other one indicated that this issue had been raised before but evidently not addressed.

« The Whitehouse Inn, always prefered on our trip trough Maine »

We drive from Halifax Nova Scotia, to Paradise Michigan and back each year and have stayed here the last 3 years, we like the rooms, the quiet, the lounge and the Breakfast in the Am. We find the price not to bad either, You do get discounts for being a rewards customer too and I being a veteran also has it`s perks. We enjoy our stays here!!!

« Excellent hot free breakfast, beautiful dining area. »

We had another great experience at the Best Western White House. The main foyer is decorated with "Presidential like" furniture. The breakfast area boasts of decorative woodwork surrounding a beautiful fireplace. The hot breakfast offers a large variety of food choices, is very well organized, maintained and extremely well kept and clean. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms have been recently renovated and are very clean and well maintained. We had booked in advance with an excellent rate and again, with friendly helpful staff. This is now our favourite Hotel in Bangor!

Best Western is always our go to motel! As a welcome home member my check in and out was awesome!!!! Friendly staff and speedy check in are always a great way to start an overnight. Breakfast at 6 a.m. and my service dog was welcomed, what more can a person ask?

    « Great service »

Rooms are clean and comfortable. We always eat at Dysarts when we stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is great spot if you do not want to be right near all the hotels by the mall.

« Thank You for Treating Me Like Family »

Nothing negative to say about this hotel. Every concierge/hospitality staffer has been so kind in my multiple stays. The rooms are clean and even smell as such (this does effect the environment). Thank you.

« Best Western White House Bangot ME »

Breat business experience. I had a 13 week assignment and stayed here the entire time. Kate in the lounge is great. The desk clerk are great. Nice breakfast options. They kept the snow cleared during the snowstorms. Convenient laundry room. Convenient on and off I95.

« Dont consider anywhere else in Bangor. »

This hotel is the best in its price range. We usually look at all brands, but not in Bangor. Our family ages range from 2 to 80 and there's always good reviews and appreciation when I book this. they particularly like the rooms and the breakfast.

    5
« "Best Spot in Bangor" »

I book hotels for our travelling family aged 2 - 80. This hotel works for them, the comments I get back from them when they stay mean I wont even consider the others in Bangor any more. Even if you are loyal to another hotel group, this is the place to stay in Bangor. Our family describe the rooms as beautiful and the love the breakfast.

    « White House Inn »

This hotel has beautiful decor that is based on prior Presidents and First Ladies of the White House. It's quaint and enchanting. It feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel chain. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were nice and toasty during a cold January night. The staff was super friendly. It is right next to the Greyhound depot so nothing was more convenient. Dysart's truck stop and restaurant were also next door and the restaurant is clean with yummy Maine food!

« Great staff and comfortable room »

Nice breakfast, comfortable beds and very quiet location. I had a room with a fireplace and two queen beds. Will stay again in the summer time to enjoy their out door pool. Very easy to get to the hotel and not in the busy part of Bangor.

« Home Away From Home »

My husband and I frequently stay at the BW White House Inn while in Bangor. The staff are always friendly, professional, and do what is necessary to make our stay pleasant. The rooms are clean and well kept, the fitness center equipment is always in working order, and maintained, and there is a good selection of breakfast items each morning.

« Great Hotel with Wonderful Staff »

My wife and I stayed here overnight on our way south. The staff are very friendly and helpful and took the time to provide us with great directions when we got a little lost. A nice room...and a good breakfast in the morning. We had a great stay....

    « Hello Mr. President! »

A great location right off the freeway and easy to find because it really does look a bit like the White House! Our room, although in a busy hallway near elevators was quiet and comfortable after a very long drive. There was some entertainment in the bar but not to our taste. Breakfast was very good. All staff was pleasant and helpful. The lobby contains items from Washington D.C. and a cutout of the President.

    « Family Favourite »

Our family has stayed at the Best Western White House Inn for almost 30 years. It's an excellent hotel and its close proximity to Dysart's Restaurant and Truck Stop makes it even more attractive to us.

    « Excellent Stay »

My stay at the BW White House Inn was excellent. Each employee I encountered was extremely helpful and generous. The room I was placed in had an extremely nice lay out, with an exceptionally comfortable bed. I also enjoyed the fireplace in the room, as it provided quite a peaceful environment for my stay.I will be sure to come back, as it is definitely worth the stay.

« Nice People, Peaceful Place, Good Sleep »

This is my second stay here. The first time was because of points through Airmiles, this time it was our choice. We had also stayed at Ramada nearby, which was acceptable as well. This time we could have gotten a slightly better price at Ramada, but chose Whitehouse. We were happy with everything. Front desk was not super-efficient (some issue with a group of guests was slowing them down), but they were very friendly. The next morning when we exited the room to go to breakfast, one of the cleaning ladies we met in the hall greeted us warmly and asked if she could do anything to help us. The breakfast is standard, coffee leaves something to be desired, but there was a Keurig machine in our room! Thanks for the nice stay.

    5
    « Great as always! »

Great stay the staff always makes us feel like family. We will be back! The breakfast is awesome. The housekeepers are so friendly I feel like they are family. We stayed during Thanksgiving in the themed suites. Wow! those are some of the BEST room we have ever stayed in.

« Great value at a great price »

The staff here were all very friendly and helpful. The property was immaculate and our room was great too. We were here for the weekend following Black Friday so expected it to be crowded and loud. It wasn't. The breakfast room was kept clean and well stocked. Our only complaint was the water pressure in the second floor shower was very hard to maintain. But it was only a minor inconvenience in comparison to all the positives we encountered during our four day/ three night stay.

    2
« Best to by-pass the White House »

The staff we came in contact with were very nice, but I would not stay here again. The motel has a lounge and is located right next to a truck stop. We heard what sounded like high heel shoes loudly passing by our room late into the night. Add the slamming of a door every 30 to 50 min. and you can only imagine what is going on. They probably could have given us a room further away from the action, but didn't. The place didn't look too busy during our stay. The breakfast offering was not impressive, nor was it being replenished or cleaned very quickly. This place has been around for a long time - there are newer motels in Bangor that we will try next time.

    5
« Just South of Bangor »

There is this White House Inn, just off I-95 south of Bangor, can't miss it, shouldn't miss it if you are looking for a warm, inviting, friendly atmosphere to spend the night or several nights. The breakfast is very good, and as usual, complimentary. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Enjoy your visit!

« Great value, great property »

The Best Western White House Inn in Bangor, Me is very convenient to all Bangor area activities and a superior property for travelers. It's just off the Interstate and very clean and locally managed. Excellent breakfast buffet and terrific value for the $.

« Easy Access to highway »

Easy access to the highway. Great selection for complimentary breakfast, very clean, beds very comfortable, comfortable rooms, good hospitality and staff was very friendly quite helpful. This was a great place to stop on our way to Nova Scotia. In fact we will be stopping there on the return trip home.

    « Halfway to Houlton »

The perfect spot to stop and stay on your way from Portland to Houlton if you don't want to make the long trip in one day. Conveniently off the highway, clean rooms, courteous staff and a lounge to top it off!

« best best western bangor »

We were very pleased with everything in this hotel. It was clean, quiet and all the staff were very pleasant. It also had a walking path for those who had dogs. We really enjoyed having a place to walk our little dog. That was the first hotel we have ever stayed at that had a really good place to walk our dog. We will stay there again whenever we go back to Bangor.

    « Business »

Chris does a great job checking you in. Fresh Cookies await, The bar downstairs is nice to have a couple pops with the local Mainers. The rooms are always clean and beds comfortable. The Breakfast which is Free is great and good coffee. Would recommend this to any traveler.

    « Welcoming Hotel »

This hotel is part of the Welcome Home Club, which provides a nice discount for frequent travelers. I found the staff extremely friendly and the room was terrific. My last stay in Bangor was at Hilton Gardens...the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, the staff was unfriendly and they charged over $10 for breakfast. I couldn't even purchase a granola bar! Best Western White House was very comfortable and provided a lovely free breakfast...all for half the price of Hilton Gardens!

    5
    « "Top Five" »

I would put this in the top five of all the places we stayed on our 29 day trip. We prefer motels in rural or small town settings. The room was large and clean, with everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. This motel is pet friendly, with lots of areas for dogs to walk. The truck stop nearby serves good food, and is one of those "there's enough left over for another meal" restaurants. It really isn't that much of a drive from Bar Harbor. Will stay there again if we ever get back that way

    « Frequent Guests »

We stay in Bangor frequently and Best Western White House Inn is our first choice. The rooms are well-appointed, and the beds are very comfortable. The location is outside the city of Bangor, but right on I-95 and easily accessed.

    « Stately!!!! »

This place is as impressive inside as it looks outside. What a cool vibe, and wonderful pictures on the wall. All of the presidents' portraits line the hallway. Rooms are large, very clean, and comfortable. We even had a Keurig. Breakfast had SO much variety, including baked beans, and your choice of turkey bacon or pork bacon! Absolutely delicious. We stayed here using Air Miles, which was very convenient and a great deal. I wish we had had the chance to use their outdoor swimming pool. Beware if you have a small child, you WILL get sucked into purchasing the charity stuffed animal that they leave in the room to benefit a local cancer center. It's only $20 though, and for a great cause. I plan to return here!!

« Too dirty to stay. »

The rooms and common areas were so dusty and dirty that we checked out within 15 minutes of arrival. The vent in the air conditioning unit was partially clogged due to poor maintenance. Room furniture was old and flimsy.

« Ok for a few nights or a stop over »

Easy access from the freeway. Comfortable room, typical of Best Western. Breakfast ok. Interesting activities in the bar. Reasonably well situated for Bangor, but a bit far if you are planning a visit to Acadia for the day. No restaurant in- house, but food nearby.

    « Leaf peeper »

We arrive after dark alittle hard to find but what a jewel. Large room with 2 King beds(extremely comfortable) Clean and we really loved the fireplace, helpful and friendly staff. Must eat at the truck stop nearby great food so good had to skip our included breakfast that was with our room and eat at truck stop for breakfast. Wish this hotel was close to my home which is California. Thanks for a great stay.

« Great dog friendly spot »

White House Inn is one of the best dog friendly hotels I have stayed in as they allow you to walk your dogs around their large field. A HUGE plus. Staff was friendly and they accommodated my first floor request. The only negative I could state was that the room did still smell of smoke even though it was smoke free room. I know it is very difficult to get that odor out but it was very noticeable.

    4
« Interesting place with old charm »

I was reluctant to stay so many nights at a Best Western just because I am not a fan of budget hotels. That said, this is an interesting hotel at which I would stay again. It is old, but very well kept. Corner rooms are very small but regular rooms and spacious and clean. Third floor rooms are interesting because of the contour of the roof and the skylight windows. Breakfast is a complete buffet and has something for everyone. Staff is generally very friendly and accommodating and prices are very good. The biggest downside I could see is they have built a landfill across the highway which gives interesting aromas that travel to the hotel. Once inside, they are unnoticeable but outside they can be surprisingly strong.

« Great stay and close to everything »

This hotel was a bit off the beaten path to downtown Bangor but next to the I-95 so it gave us quick and easy access to travel to the various places we visited. Shopping Mall and some outlet stores was just off the highway and close to restaurants in that vicinity. Also there was easy access to the highway to go to Bar Harbour for the day. Our room faced the truck stop but only occasionally did we here anything during the night that was annoying during our 2 night stay. The room was great with mini-fridge, coffee maker and upgraded amenities. The complimentary breakfast was the best we have ever been offered at any hotel over the years. The front desk staff was always available, very accommodating and and friendly. The staff at breakfast were always helpful and pleasant too. Even the small gift shop offered reasonably priced gifts and Maine souvenirs. We especially liked the stuffed lobster for our little dog Benny. The General Manager can certainly be proud of your staff as they all made our stay enjoyable. (Thanks also for the recommendation to eat at Anglers Seafood Restaurant - the seafood was fabulous.)

« Perfect quick stay on our way to Canada »

The staff was awesome. EVERYONE we dealt with was super nice and so very accommodating. We came for one night with your greyhound and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, quiet and personable place to sleep.

    « Nice place..... »

Staff was great. Rooms were nice. Hotel is out in the middle of no where. Need a car for sure!! Our room was on the side of the truck stop...so it was a little loud at times. Did have a great view on the other side....

    « Very Accommodating »

I have stayed at this Best Western several times over the past thirty years and have witnessed it getting better every time I visit. This week I reserved two rooms for a one night stay in the bangor area. My wife and I were treating my mother to a couple of days of casino and shopping. The staff at the hotel made this trip even more special. They could not have been more friendly or accommodating. We are platinum members and only two stays away from becoming diamond award program members. They always upgrade us when possible but this time we had both rooms upgraded to executive suites. Wow! Theses rooms (329 & 330) were huge with leather couches, fireplaces, three large windows and double vanities. The breakfast in the morning was served in a bright welcoming room with large round tables. There was nothing they didn't have at the buffet. All this for the CAA rate of $109 per room.

    4
    « Nice hotel ! »

This hotel was clean and the young man on the front desk was a joy. Our room was comfortable and spacious. One of the best complimentary breakfast that I have had at any hotel. The only negative that I did not know about when I booked was it is located behind a truck stop and that is the only Resturant around without going back into town. However, the food was good. Good value for the money.

    4
    « Quaint and clean »

Although we arrived late, check in was quick and we found our room to be clean and comfortable. We liked that they've taken an old hotel and updated it to include more electrical plugs. I liked the historic pictures of presidents as we walked down the hall to the room as well.

« Nice stay bwetween Nixon & Johnson »

A nice stop to stay after a week of struggling for reasonable lodging while leaf peeping in New England. We stopped at the White House for a night before heading north and depended on the BW Brand. We were not disappointed. The rates were reasonable, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower had hot water. Also provides easy access to downtown Bangor and Route 1/1A into Acadia.

    5
    « Wonderful Experience »

A sparkling stay at a well appointed hotel in Bangor, Maine. We would stop there again if in the area, and would have stayed longer than one night if time would have allowed. While we were only looking for a place for the night, it was easy to find and we appreciated the easy access off and on the interstate when we needed to resume our travels.

    « Warm, inviting stay »

We stayed here for two different nights as part of a bus tour. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast each morning was great -- if you couldn't find something to eat it was not the fault of the hotel. All in all a lovely stay.

    2
« White House Best Western »

when we arrived the hotel did look very nice from the outside. once you get to the room it is another story the mattress was saggy as all get up, and for that reason very uncomfortable. The window AC was falling apart, very noisy and inefficient.

    « Second visit »

This was our second visit. We hadnt been here for 15 years. This time we stayed in the new addition. It's beautiful. We had a very large room, king bed, gas fireplace, double bathroom sinks. It was so quiet. Friendly service. Clean room. Keurig machine. Definitely recommend. Very comfortable hotel. Thanks:)

« Review of White House Inn »

This is a very nice hotel, clean, friendly staff and a good breakfast menu. Easy to access and rejoin I-95. Have stayed at this hotel several times. The rooms are clean and the hotel tidy. It is next to Dysart's Truck Stop which has an excellent restaurant with good meals.

« Great for those traveling with pets »

Traveling from DC area to Prince Edward Island this is a great place to stop that accommodates pets. They even have a large hay field with a walking path mowed so you can walk your dogs and stretch your own legs after a day of driving. When making reservations we asked for a top floor room near the stairs so we wouldn't have to take our shy Beagle around too many strangers. They had that room ready for us without having to ask again. Room 302. It worked out great. Everything was clean and efficient. Will stay again if we drive this way in the future. Excellent pie at the truck stop nearby.
